Hotels where college fans stay. And if, for the heck
of it you want Steve Covino, this guy over here
(01:07):
me to win the whole bracket challenge a guy that
much like me, not a big college hoops guy. You
just guessed, Well, if Alabama beats Yukon, which is not likely,
they're double digit underdogs. But if they do, I can't
see anyone being you put a lot of thought into this, guys. Steve, Yeah,
(01:29):
exactly happy to see the results. So that's me, Steve
Covino as Danny g Iowa, Sam Families on the updates,
spots on the videos. All of our social media videos

reminder of starting Monday that Dan Patrick Hatrick were filling
in for the DP show on Monday, So join us
then early in the morning, early like mister Furley, up
(01:50):
early like.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
The old guy.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
And right now there's so much to get to again
the Sacramento A's. Hopefully we get to the bottom of this.
Oh tany home run ball. But Bronnie is the other
big story today. You know, there's so many angles to Bronnie.
I'm sure you want to get into.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
But isn't it funny how we're all so different as
far as what we want to do with your free
time and other people like why would you do that.
Like the eclipse was on Monday, a lot of people
are going to see the eclipse, and I'm like, why
would you do that? But to the people that want
to do it, they're probably thinking, why want it you?
Same for people there's a lot of people that are
(02:26):
so excited about it. Two nights of wrestle Mania forty
and there's people.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Are like, you watch wrestling if you know, watches one
hundred and sixty two games of the Yankees in one season. Hm,
there's like three eclipses in our lifetime. I mean that
is true, but it's interesting the eclipse. But I'm about
thirteen hours to see.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yeah, like Spot said on Monday, he's driving twelve hours.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I'm trying for okay, slow down, well sort of, but
I'm driving five hours one way and five hours the other.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
So that's ten hours. But it's a once or three
time in a lifetime experience.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
I have no problem with people wanting to experience a
natural phenomenon like the eclipse. What I have a problem
is people saying things like path of totality. I mean
that makes me want karate kick somebody. You're in the
path of total path of totality, you win it.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
What the path of total.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
But that's also what but you mocked things you don't
understand until you've experienced it and you've been in the
path of totality. I guarantee you Rich, if you went
once and you saw you be.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
Like, oh yeah, the path of totality.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
But you know what, the same way can we don't
win a care That's like when he's like, Yo, the
fight this weekend, Fight of the year, You're like, every
week's the fight of the year.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Every It's funny how we all have such different interests.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
I mean, that's what makes the world going exactly. Yes,
Lot's going to see the eclipse. Rich is pumped about
WrestleMania and now I'm gonna be home scratching my Harry
manthis watching baseball.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
They saying, well, a little different. All right, let's talk
to some bronni because he has declared eligible for the
NBA Draft also transfer portal, so he's got.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Options entering the twenty twenty four NBA Draft while maintaining
his college eligibility. And you have to wonder, like, what's
really going on here? Is Lebron sort of flexing his muscles,
flexing his weight to the Lakers organization. I have to
say absolutely, because we have to all admit that it
(04:14):
seems like Bronni James is not ready.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
He ain't ready.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
He's gonna be working out for teams ahead of the
draft to see if there is interest.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
But they're gonna make it happen and do the right
thing because of Lebron. There's no doubt the Lakers are
gonna draft this guy later in the draft just to
appease Lebron, ensure that he retires a Laker, and put
him in some sort of G league or something, and
then bring him up whenever they can, just to appease
(04:44):
Lebron and make history and he gets to play with
his son, and that's it. They're gonna do the right
thing because he's Lebron James. You know, Danny, you're the
biggest Lakers fan we know here at FSR. What are
your thoughts when Cavino says something like the Lakers will
do the right thing and take Bronnie for Lebron.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yeah, I tend to agree with Coveno. We know that
Lebron is very close with Genie Buss. Whether it's staged
or not. You saw them Women's Day or something. He
was like cuddling up with Genie, so you know that
Genie is gonna do what she thinks is going to
keep Lebron happy. And I don't see them using an
early pick obviously on BRONI, but some will some way,
(05:21):
they'll find a way.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Because they don't have to because no one else is
going to take them. There's no point the team would
team taken to mess with them.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
I was just gonna say that unless there's a hater team.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
Let's say it's like the third round and like the Hornets,
their high pick for that not a high picked. I'm saying,
let's say the Lakers are, Oh yeah, it's like, you know,
we're a couple of rounds into the draft.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Now it's time, and like the Pacers, like bah, we
choose Ronnie James gotchas.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
When you're Lebron James, you have these luxuries. You could
do those things.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
You know, you could criticize, but Lebron is in a
different category. He's on a different level. There is some criticism,
though that's garnered when you tell the media to back
off your son. Though, let a kid be a kid,
But then you're forcing him into the NBA a little
sooner than he probably should be right, So you're gonna
(06:14):
get criticism as a result. But I'm not rooined against
Brownie James. I actually really like the kid. Yeah, I
live he's a great kid, just like I want to
see him get there on his own merit though.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah, but you know what, Nepotism is the thing. But
you once you do get that family advantage, I need
to prove it. I think Lebron earn that for his family.
He's an exceptional, once in a lifetime guy. And you
just nailed it rich the James family got to You
still got to prove your worth the James family in
the headlines, not just that Lebron's other kid hanging out
(06:45):
with Diddy's daughters. So Lebron's all over the headlines today.
But it made me think of two analogies. Could you
know not that we need him, because I think he
made the point pretty damn clear. The Lakers may draft
him just to do the right thing for Lebron, because
if anyone does deserve it what Lebron's for the Lakers
in the NBA, you could say, you know what, give
us kid a shot, like we this three exam In fact,
(07:06):
they got three Mike Piazza was a favor to his
family because he was close with Tommy Losorda. And look
and look how that turned out amazing, right, you know
the other one that's actually you know, since it is
WrestleMania a weekend. I just watched The Brutus the Barber
Beefcake Dark Side of the Ring on Wece and Brutus
(07:28):
de Barbara. Beefcake was hul Cogan's childhood friend. And the
whole joke was it was pretty understood that he was
around because hul Cogan's like, hey, brother, if you.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Want me, you got to take brother Brutie as well.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
So like even when Hogan went to the nWo and
WCW with Ted Turner and Eric Bischoff, who came along, Covito, Well,
I got.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
To bring brother brewe Tie.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Brutus Beefcake said, have rode the coattails in a fun way,
but of the Holster held his own. How many how
many times do you see a Sandler movie and you're like, well,
look at ye, sweet Rubbi Schneider, David Spade, all those
dudes that are Adam Sandler's guys. You look out for
your people, and if the Lakers look out for Lebron,
you can do it.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You gotta figure. You gotta think to yourself. The Lakers
with a late round Pip could end up saying we'll
take Bronnie and if not, he transfers to Ducaine.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
As the rumor.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
You know why because Lebron's high school, childhood friend and
teammate is the coach of Dukane and they are close
family friends.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
So Bronnie James eligible for the twenty twenty four draft.
And again you have to imagine that this is how
they've envisioned it, this is how they wanted to go.
They have the the power to make it happen, and
(08:54):
props to them. You can criticize, but you know what,
what a dream come true, be able to play in
the NBA with your kid, to make it happen, to
help them along the way. I don't see any shame
or crime in that. We all want to help our
kids succeed, and we'll do anything we can to help
our kids along the way. But again, like we said,
(09:15):
it's on them to deliver. After that, I'll tell you what,
there's any way I can help my kid along the way.
You better believe I'll go to even a more extreme
and you might think, oh, Rich, that's too far, but
deep down inside sort of you know, reluctant to admit this.
But I don't blame like Lori Laughlin for like bribing
(09:37):
people to do something for her kid. You'll do anything
for your kids. You will do anything for your kids,
and you may do some dumb crap on your own
to make it happen. But can you really blame people
that thought they had the power to bribe? That's you know,
if it means to help your kid, you would do
a lot. Wouldn't you think you're just trying to get
(09:59):
on Lori Laffel It's good side somehow.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
She was great on Curb this year. She's kind of hot.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
So no, I again, no no crime there as far
as I see it. With lebron James, I just feel
bad for Bronnie because I don't think he's ready. But
that doesn't mean he has to be drafted.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Oh didn't you say you watched UH with your daughter
that Adam Sandler bought mits for movie?
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Yeah, his daughter's like the lead kid. Both of his
daughters are in the moment. She was good, she was.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Great, only got the role because she was Sandler's kid.
But you know what, once she got it because she
was Sandlor's kid. She's a good kid actor.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, that was awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
So the reality is it'll open the door. But I
believe it was Gwyneth Paltrow spot she's the daughter of who.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Gwyneth Peltrow.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Gwaeth Peltrow is the live dat.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yeah, she has famous parents, but she admits doors have
been opened. But if she wasn't any good, you'd get
like one or two roles and they'll be like, oh,
let's call it a day, baby, stick around. You got
to be pretty good, and it'll be interesting to see
how this brownie thing pans out.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Yeah, he may mature into a great NBA player. You
like Kate Hudson. Who knows you like Kate Hudson, right,
I sure do. Kate Hudson's great.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Michael Douglas's no GOLDI hunts you think Douglas, Goldie.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Hawn and Kate Kate Hudson. You know, sometimes you forget like, oh, yeah,
it's Goldie Hawn's daughter.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
You don't think John Boy ever put the good word
in for Angelina Joe Lee. I'm pretty sure about the
weird brother. He never got any shine ooka it always
don't bring him up. I know some important people, Like
they say, it's not who you know, it's who knows you.
And if just so happens, you have some famous relatives
(11:41):
or powerful relatives and friends that can help you out. Everybody, everybody,
everybody in this room, everybody, everybody for their advantages.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
And ways to move ahead.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Of course, you know what I get all the time
now because I have some friends that have kids that
are teenagers, They're.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
Like, hey, do you know any internships in the industry
you're work in.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Like, if you're not using your resources and your family
and friends.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
That's all it is. That's you know, it really is,
it really is.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
It's just a matter of like I said, he's gonna
get criticized, gonna get criticism because Lebron was talking out
both sides of his mouth a little bit.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Let him be a kid.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Meanwhile, you're pushing him a little further than he should be.
And because he's Lebron, and it's always gonna garner backlash
and criticism. Lebron no matter what he does, even if
he's right for looking at his son, he's gonna get criticism.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Let's go to Nick in Upstate New York. What's on?
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Nick?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
You're Awn Covin on Red trot it?
Speaker 4 (12:36):
What's up? Bud?
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Hey?
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Man?
Speaker 7 (12:37):
Hey, you guys doing this show in corporate enough?
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Thank you man?
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Anytime the way, hold on before you go on. I
might forget this point because I'm a pee brain. So
let me just get this out real quick. For all
we know Lebron, I mean, he knows his son, he
knows how his son plays. Maybe he is confident that
he could bring out that greatness in him on a
professional level.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Like yo, get him on the court with me.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
You'll see like and maybe we will see magic and
we'll have the benefits grow brow. We know Lebron can
say with me present right, this kit will elevate enough
where he could be a decent bench player or something exactly.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
So ahead, Nick, where you're on, Buddy? Now we're up
to day, Nick, call back, Buddy.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Dave Sacktown Hey, how you doing, guys? Great show?
Speaker 1 (13:22):
What's up? Thanks? Man? Hey?
Speaker 6 (13:26):
You know who needs to draft Brownie James is Dan
Gilbert of the Cleveland Caps.
Speaker 8 (13:32):
Wouldn't that be the funniest thing?
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Yeah, him out.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
From under Lebron and the Lakers or I kicked pat
Riley and the heat.
Speaker 8 (13:39):
Doing it takes takes.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Just a kid from Akron. You take his kid to
the Cleveland Calves.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
While Lebron's cold blooded, while.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Lebron's hanging in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
The only way I see that happening is if they're
playing the long game of getting trying to get Lebron.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
To which Lebron has come out and said he doesn't
want to move elsewhere from that of his career.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
No, no, it looks like he's Lakers all the way.
So I don't see he's lying to us.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
No offense, no offense to anyone in DC. But at
the time, was there a weaker ass team than the
Wizards when Michael Jordan went there?
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Uh, the Generals week to watch it? The Generals, you know,
not good basketball teams there?
Speaker 4 (14:21):
Huh No No.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
But when when you think about it, the.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Wizards with that, even with that uniform back in the
nineties and two thousands, like that was a weakest team.
What would the weakest team be now in the NBA
that Lebron and his son could team up on.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Weakest team in the NBA now, man, I don't think
there's any weaker team than that.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
What would be what would be a market that that
that would just be like really wow wow.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
Yeah, but Lebron's something. Yeah, he's not going out like
is he going to Canada? No, it's cold up there,
no offense Utah.
Speaker 4 (14:55):
But I was going to say, you dress, it's not gonna.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Have Danny and flow rydo. What's up Danny?
Speaker 8 (15:00):
Hey, hey guys. A couple of things. One, Uh, there's
not many great, great players whose kids are even gonna
make it to the professional well let alone, I think
Ken Griffy and Ken Griffy Senior the only two that
ever played together. And second, for tonight with the women's basketball,
how about going to the tryang one too and put
(15:22):
two girls on Caitlyn Clarks. If you just play like
Ralph Sampson, if.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
You don't think that Geneo, if Geno orim, if you
don't think he has some type of game plan, I
was sam.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
For Caitlyn Clark just going down.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
He's got to try something different, right, Like, I hope
that he's got a game plan and it's a bad one.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I know you hope he has a bad one, but
I'm sure he does.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
He's they're paid to do, right, I mean you gotta
have some sort of You don't think there's NBA teams
that were like, hey, let's just uh, you know, make
let it be impossible for Steph to get any three
point shots off. With the most overused cliche, everybody has
a plan until you're punching a face with a three
point shot.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
So we'll see what happened. Kaitly Clark said that, right,
Caitlyn Fark said.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
That, And by the way, really quick back to the
NBA's worst squad right now, as far as record, you
guys could probably guess the Pistons and the Pistons, Yeah,
only thirteen wins.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Imagine if Lebron and Bronni took their talents together in
like a year, so could they turn that thirteen into
thirty one?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
By the way, three our last caller mentioned the Griffies. Obviously,
that's the first thing that comes to mind. And that's
the coolest moment ever it is. You know, they went
back to back. Ken Griffy Senior stood around a long time.
I remember when he paid for the Yankees, the kid
hitting home runs with his dad. Some awesome moments for sure.
(16:40):
Is that the only father son combo. There's probably one
in hockey we don't know about. I think there is
huh on a professional level. I'm talking about there's been
generational players.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
But ye say you're saying at the on the field
court at the same time together father's son.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
I'm not looking at it.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I mean, honestly google it right now, because when I
picture Griffy and Griffy Junior hitting back to back home runs,
I'm like, that's what dreams are made of.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Sound Lebron, not to sound corny. If he has the.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Power to make his dreams come true for him and
his family, gotta instead of criticizing it, I.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Think you have to applaud it. Man, that's great.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Look at this guy doing everything he can for his family,
to fulfill his dreams for his son. It's easy to criticize,
but how about you just step back him in and say, no,
here's a guy that's living out his dream.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
There was a guy him, there was a guy we
worked with that co at serious XM Bennington. Ron Bennington,
formerly of a very popular show on the East Coast
ron and Fez. Later in his career, he ended up
doing a show with his daughter and I always thought
that had to be some like odd dream of his right,
like I'm working with my kid who's also in broadcasting,
(17:53):
Joe Buck and Jack Buck. They were called the game
together from from what I understand, but they had some
cool moments that might be the one. Cavino, what's happening
to Cavino right now is typical and whatever?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
And try to look uping up that's in the Wi FI.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
I feel like there's a hockey answer here and and
of course I can't pull anything up.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Like when you're trying to find the picture on your phone,
you never find it again.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
It's hard to find either way because you'll get father's
son combos. But did they play at the same time?
Let's go to r pal and yours to wrap this up.
Em Itt in Olympia, what's up? Em It?
Speaker 6 (18:30):
Cavino, Rich, Spotty, Danny g Iowa, Sam, welcome to the show.
And uh we got Bfan, Brian Fenlely, you know, proud
member the friendly Fanatics here by the way, with.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Fanatics so their phone? Can I buy a foam finger
on their T shirts?
Speaker 4 (18:45):
I've met both of those.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
And Dodg're allowed to be part of the fanatics too.
Speaker 9 (18:50):
Perfect Hey, Hey, I want to lay it on this
brownie topic, and I quickly have a word on show Hey.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
We'll start with show Hey. Now, I think for the Dodgers,
this is a terrible look. I mean, just let this
poor like couple have the ball. You know, it's such
like a crucial moment for them. I mean, imagine going
to a game, right, And I know you guys have
said this. I'm just adding on this. When you catch
a ball from show Hey, probably one of the greatest
talents the baseball scene in a while, and then the
Dodgers pull some crap like that. I don't even care
(19:18):
if about the money at this point, I just want
to keep it. I mean, yeah, you could probably sell
it for more than one hundred and k or whatever.
But they got to make something, right, I mean, either
give them like free season season tickets or give them
the ball, like you got to do something. I mean,
it's a bad thing. And about lebron James and Brownie,
I just think I don't really think Bronnie is that
good of a talent. I mean I think this is
(19:39):
more just you know, you know, somebody fake it till
you make it type thing. I don't think he's going
to have a great, you know time over in the NBA.
I think he's you know, it might benefit him to
take another year in college. You know, like you guys
are saying go to a team where it's a let
like it would be better for him, you know, a
better coach to all of this. It's just he hasn't
been playing well and Lebron's only getting older. So I
(20:03):
just don't really like the fact that he's just going
to get this easy shot to the NBA, where there
are these guys who have worked their butts off and
they can't even make it and they're arguably better than Brownie.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
That true, thank you. And by the way, Brownie averages
what like four points a game. It's not like he
was you know, there was no part and he was
shooting twenty percent from three point when.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
It made this a lot easier by lighting it up.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
I mean, he is coming off a heart condition, that
is true. To check that into it, that.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Is that is a good point. Danny G Yeah, he
had a scary season. Yep, yep, So that's that's true.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Well, coming up here on Cavino Rich two things some
weekend hob nobn What to watch this weekend in the
world of sports and entertainment, and we're going to try
to get the guest of the day on who is
the woman that actually caught the show? Hey Otani ball,
What did the Dodgers really say to her? What's the
current update? Where are we at the Dodgers going to
make it right? We'll get to all that coming up
(20:55):
right here on on Cavino and Rich.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Traveling to see your favorite team this spring, you have
to stay at Graduate Hotels. They're obsessed with college sports,
and each graduate hotel is like a shrine to its
hometown and local college team, but in a good way.
Lots of cool details for alumni, vintage sports throwbacks, not
to campus legends, school colors, mascots. Why would we? Why
would you stay anywhere else? Graduate hotels?

Oh you upset people, I guess, Sir Cavino had some
controversial thoughts on Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
I mean not really though.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Oh it was scandalous. I compared her to Mike Trout.
She's the greatest in the game, but how marketable is
she in the future, which is why she needs to capitalize. Now,
now that's all. I can't say anything about her on
the court. I just questioned Off the court, she's fantastic.
She's amazing for women's sports. If you want to hear
(23:15):
our take, we talked to Caitlin Clark. We talked with
a lot of nonsense. Actually over promised Fox Sports Radio's
YouTube page. Catch that after our show. It's our bonus show.
We're live fromatire rack dot com studio. And just like
in basketball, successful game plan starts with the right players
the team. Attractor supply brings hustle and harp. That's what
(23:35):
really sets them apart. Lays up your sneakers, make the
winning play by heading to your local tractor supply store.
HM today again live from aati i rack dot com studios.
Our buddy Jeff hit us up who's listening on the
East coast. He said, guys, don't forget Tiger Woods and
Charlie Woods. They planted a couple small, small tournaments together,
and if you're a golf end about them, and maybe
(23:56):
maybe the Earnhard's or something.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
You don't think some race cards drivers were competing together.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Ah, that's why it's a rare thing. It's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Instead of criticizing the Lebron situation, we should be applauding it.
He's trying to just live the dream. Yeah, no shame
in that, and a part.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Of the dream is like listen, very few times in
life I always say this, very few times do people
have the power to really call the shots.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
And Lebron James is one of those people.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
And for most of his career, the at least, you know,
from the middle of it on, he's had the ability
to decide where he wants to go and what he
wants to do. So why not end his career by
saying I'd like to finish it by playing side by
side with my kid. You can't blame him for that, can't.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Blame him for that.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Well, you know, let's go to Brian family for an
update that where you can get some weekend hobnobbin fens.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
What's going on? Buddy?
Speaker 9 (24:47):
Well, guys, you know, just like in basketball, a successful
game plan starts with the right players. The team that
tractors supply brings hard and hustle. Hustle and hard, and
that's what really sets them apart. So lays of your
sneakers make the winning play by heading to your local
tractor supply store today.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
So that is what has happened. Like, can you go
to my kids, go and read them some books?
Speaker 4 (25:07):
You know?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
I was.
Speaker 9 (25:08):
I used to do some when I was in college.
I see some freestyle rapping, So I don't know if
I was any good keeping knowing rich?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
Are you like?
Speaker 4 (25:16):
Are you like?
Speaker 1 (25:17):
You're great? You Harry?
Speaker 9 (25:20):
You want to see Harry mac go in the Yankees clubhouse? No,
but you want to hear something really interesting, a fun
fact about me. So I'm related to marriage from to
the guy LP who's part of Run the Jewels. I
don't know if you guys follow any of that stuff.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Is that true? Yeah? So I'm related he through marriage.
I'm related to him. Iowa Sam says he's got a
little friendly.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
I don't even know that I've got I got a
little friendly here from his freestyling days.
Speaker 9 (25:43):
Everybody got to pay this year, so we clear Oh no,
oh no, did you just bring that up?
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Oh my god, that was actually friendly, quoting on Antonio
Brown tweet, which is very funny.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Okay, what else is going on? Put at behind that?
Speaker 9 (25:56):
Yeah, exactly, So, yeah, I'll add that to the resume reel.
As as far as what's going on in baseball right now,
we've got well, the Blue Jays took down the Yankees
three to nothing. I know Covino wasn't too happy about that.
Tiger's holding out the Athletics five to four. We've had
several games that are actually still ongoing right now related
to Major League Baseball. By the way, the Dodgers lost
(26:17):
nine to seven on the road to the cub Show.
Ootani did come up with a second home run of
the year. Right now, the Rockies are in front of
the Rays four to two. That's bottom of the eighth,
bottom the ninth Pirates with their last chance here five
to two. They trail at home against the Orioles, Padres,
and Giants all square at two. Also want to mention
that the yeah, actually we have right now, Well, I'm
(26:39):
about half an hour from now, We've got the Final
Four going up and starting on the women's side of things.
Our first game of the Final Four is going to
be NC State in South Carolina, and then at nine
Eastern Yukon in Iowa, we'll be battling it out. And lastly, guys,
Lebron James's son Brown as you are talking about in length,
fresh off of his freshman season, and see has made
(27:01):
the old decision, but not really a decision. He's keeping
his options open in the form of yeah, he's entering
the NBA Draft, but he's also not ruling out a
return to college with his entrance into the transfer portal.
We do know, Kavine and rich one thing, he is
not returning to USC gotcha?
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Oh wait, hold on, Danny G. When are they gonna
come with Danny G to hit me up? We got
we got the woman and her husband there.
Speaker 5 (27:26):
Yeah, they just texted me that they're both gonna be
able to come on the air. So forty five after
so we'll ten minutes. Yeah, we'll handle weekend hobnobbin.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
The updates we're gonna get.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
We're gonna get to the bottom of if the Dodgers
are really doing this family dirty or not. I can't wait.
So that's coming up in about ten minutes. But right now,
let's get some weekend hobnobbin.
Speaker 10 (27:48):
For the weekend you're winning bets for talking points. If
you get stuck socializing, you ever done anything dangerous?
Speaker 1 (27:54):
You ever dance with the devil in the panel line?
Friday brings us weekend.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Hob Na me, Wow, what you need to watch this weekend?
In the world of sports and entertainment? We do it
every Friday. Let's get into it. UFC Fight Night, Maniana.
I know it's a Wrestling Mania weekend. I'm sure Rich
has plenty to talk about there, But Brandon Allen fighting
Chris Curtis, Hernandez versus Damon Jackson. Some great fights, Manana.
(28:25):
Tomorrow night, Ultimate Fighting Championship. Tune into that. Alan and
Curtis too.
Speaker 4 (28:31):
By the way.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Then you got the Yankees into Blue Jays. Maybe they'll
score a run. I'm hoping for that. That'd be cool.
But division rivals, let's go a lot of Blue Jays
fans talking smack all the time, the Yankees fans hope
the Yankees smack them around a little bit back. So
I'll be watching that as a baseball fan. And because
there's nothing but crap, there's just so much crap on TV.
(28:55):
It's not a good time for TV. I'll back going
to old school. I'm going old school. I got baseball
on my mind, the Bronx Bombers, and I figured I'd
introduce my kid to a classic called a Bronx tale.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
So I'm going old school. I think you got to
do that.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
You got to pass down some classics every once in
a while and say, hey, you know what, check this
one out. It's a cool story. A Bronx tail. Dad
liked this one when he was a kid. I hope
you like it, she asked me about it recently. So
I'm gonna do that daddy daughter thing and say, let's
sit down and watch a movie, Let's make some popcorn,
Let's go oh a Bronx tail, because there's nothing sadder
(29:31):
than wasted talent.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
As we talked about this week on.
Speaker 2 (29:33):
The show, correct you said it, WrestleMania's this weekend. I
was such a big wrestling fan as a kid. Maybe
over the last year I've started to gain some interest.
And the ratings are huge because the Rock has made
his big return, Roman Reigns setting the record now more
main events than Hulk Cogan in our childhood.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
So WrestleMania two.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Night events this weekend, so you could check out Mania.
By the way, wasn't it a Vince McMahon wanted to
call it Colossal Tussle. And you know who named it WrestleMania.
I do Howard Finkel, remember the old announcer. So WrestleMania
is this weekend, which is the real dad, Howard Finkel.
Speaker 3 (30:10):
The series finale, not just the season finale. We say
farewell to Larry David, JB. Smooth, Susie, Jeff Garland this
year some great cameos, Vince.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Vaughan, Conan O'Brien.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
You'll finally stop talking about it because I'm pumped, dude.
Curb is fantastic. You're missing it big time, big lee.
So the Curb your Enthusiasm finale. Will it end like Seinfeld?
Speaker 3 (30:31):
I'll miss it all right, Honestly, I really do think
you're missing it, David.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
You just talk about it all the time.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Well you know what you I bet you haven't watched.
It's on Netflix now if you want to watch with
your daughter, not the og the Lebron version of space Jam.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
You don't want to ask on that. It's a no Curb,
no space jam.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
How about this is right up the alley of you
and your dad who loves alien crap files of the Unexplained.
It's a new mystery series on Netflix.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
Good files explain anything from Denny.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
Yeah, something I watched yesterday documentary and two pieces Steve Martin,
legendary comedian and actor.
Speaker 4 (31:10):
So good. Ten out of ten?
Speaker 1 (31:11):
Where is that?
Speaker 4 (31:12):
That's on Apple TV.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
We'll check that out. Ye part documentary. You can check
that out. Thanks for reminding me. I like that. Only
only murders.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Where She's Selena Gomes stars with Steve Martin.
Speaker 4 (31:23):
Selena Gomes talk about that in the documentary.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
She said that Steve Martin is the most the most
influential person in their life and she wants the world
to know how amazing he is.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Like she can't run. She's like, he's a dad to her.
Speaker 4 (31:37):
And he's awesome.
Speaker 5 (31:37):
You'll love him even more after you see this. And
then Sunday some music for you the Crossroads concert series
on CMT. Hardy and Nickelbacks share the same stage. Yeah,
what is that Sunday on?
Speaker 1 (31:48):
Check that out? Man, He that dude rocks out. But
he's got that country twist to him and Nickelback's great live.
We'll sleep on it.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
Yeah, they're touring together right now.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
That's Sunday night.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
You check.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
You won't watch Kirby Enthusiasm about you watching nickelback. Yeah,
well yeah you said it, just checking. Don't forget the
Men's Final four.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
The Men plays and you know the solar eclips on Monday.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
That's so watch Special Glasses.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
It's the cosmic equivalent of the DVD logo hitting the
corner of the screen. So it's such a rare true
it happens, happens once in a while. All right, Well, hey,
we're gonna talk to a very special guest coming up
in a few minutes, the woman that caught the show
Hey home run that's causing all the controversy for the Dodgers.
Will get her on next right here with kevene on Rich.

return it because you think it's the right thing to do,
(34:08):
and you know what, I'll get a prize.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Yeah, and then the person's like apathetic when they return

you're like, that's it.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
I should have kept the money.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
Well, what this show Hey Ball has caused a big stir?
Did the Dodgers strong arm a lovely couple from southern California?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
Well, Danny g thank you for finding them.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
We welcome to Caveno on Rich on Fox Sports Radio,
Alexis Venezuela and Amber Roman, Amber.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
The woman that came along with a came out of
this with the ball. What's up Amber?
Speaker 6 (34:42):
Hi?
Speaker 2 (34:43):
Well, first off, let's say congratulations. It's an amazing story,
an amazing moment. You caught a lottery ticket. That's what
it feels like. You were one of fifty something thousand
people you caught that home run. Who would have thought
home run one seventy one from show Heywood caused this controversy?
So I understand what happened, but tells from your perspective
(35:05):
what was going on in the moment.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
And by the way, Alexis, how did you miss it?
How did you miss it? I mean props to Amber
for retrieving it, but how did you miss it?
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Man?
Speaker 7 (35:15):
You know, I figure that if Zone was going to
get that ball at that time, he had to be me.
I reached for it, and you know, I just felt
the impact.
Speaker 2 (35:22):
In my hand.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
But after that, like it was free game for everybody.
You know, a bunch of us is wrestling on the floor,
throwing out his trash around trying to find it, and
the shortest grow just came up with it.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
That's amazing. I love a congrats Amber.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Now, Amber, my feelings from what I've heard, I don't
like how the Dodgers handle this. I feel like they
strong armed you. I feel like they bamboozled you. I
feel like there's details I want to hear from you,
as far as the someone telling you they won't authenticate
the ball.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Is that true?
Speaker 12 (35:49):
Yeah, that's exactly what they told me when they told me,
I don't know if you realize that, you know what
you have in your hand is history home and bought
the Dodgers would really mean a lot to him. You know,
you could give it back, and I told him I
didn't want to give it back, that I wanted to
keep it, but that I feel was possible that he
could sign it for me, and I think they told
me know that if I was going to keep it,
(36:11):
the key was been willing to sign it and they
weren't willing to authenticate it for me. Eaters.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
Now that sounds odd, right, that does it does? That
doesn't sound right at all. But even before that, right,
this moment happens. It's sort of magical. The videos there,
you're all excited, everybody's.
Speaker 1 (36:26):
Cheering for you.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
How fast did it take these people to come down
here and talk to you? And at what point did
they separate Amber and Alexis you from your husband.
Speaker 12 (36:40):
It all happen pretty quick, I want to say, not
even in less than five minutes after the whole commotion ended,
Like they were already there at the end of our row.
You see this in the video that we got escorted out.
They took us down to the bullpen area. There is
some ropes where it was like a secluded area, and
(37:01):
that's where they told it. That think that he couldn't
follow me in.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
There, so they tell Alexis he can't follow you, so
they take you alone.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah, well, hold on, though, Alexis sounds like a badass
to me, Alexis, there wasn't not a point in time
or a moment in time where you were.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Like, no, hold on, I'm going with her. There's no way.
Did you put up any sort of stink there?
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Now?
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (37:22):
Right right when uh, we we looked to the riot
and we had only it was like, well only one
or two. They were pointing at her and then she
thought it was you know, for her to get the ball,
and she was like, no, no way, and then they
were like, no, we're gonna reward you. And then all
these other security guards started coming and then she, uh,
she kind of got in front of me, and after
that I couldn't catch up to her. They cut in
front of me, and I was trying to, you know,
(37:43):
let him know that, hey, I'm on with her and
with her, and they were kind to push me back,
so I pretty much just ran with them. Once we
went downstairs, the more security was there, and at that
point that's when they pushed it to the side and
then they didn't let me pass. And as much as
I was trying let them know that you were together,
you know, like for me to be there with her
at this moment, they kind of wanted her to get
her alone, you know, and.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
We're why now now, Amber and Alexis, when you get
word that people are speculating this ball could be worth
one hundred thousand dollars or more, Alexis, I think I
saw you on social media saying that you were like
sick a little bit about it. You said he couldn't sleep,
he couldn't sleep. Now, I don't blame you. I don't
blame you either. Are you hoping and thinking the Dodgers
(38:25):
will make this right?
Speaker 7 (38:26):
Well, it's just one of those things where you know,
the the wed if is always going to be lingering,
and you know, you start thinking about these things you
could have done differently, But what good does that do you?
You know, at this point, we did walk out with
more than what you know we walked in, and the
Dodgers did contact us and deals being worked, but it
was just a whole and everything that was off the camera,
(38:50):
the way everything you know was played that kind of
just is a bad taste. And you know, we just
figured it was gonna be different and such a big
moment and real nice moment, our first ball. We don't
know how things pay out after that, and he just
he just.
Speaker 4 (39:03):
Took a turn right.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
You've never done anything like this before, so you don't know.
Do they make you sign anything? Do you sign it away?
Speaker 1 (39:09):
They bully you in?
Speaker 12 (39:10):
Yeah, you know they didn't. They didn't make you sign anything.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Man, so that you didn't sign anything, which I think
is a good thing. I'm waiting.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
I'll be honest between us, you know, Alexis Hamburg, we
were talking about this earlier in the show. I think
the Dodgers have a unique opportunity here to really do
the right thing and say, you know, show hey had
some bad press, you know with the gambling stuff a
couple of weeks ago. You know, this is a guy
that makes seven hundred million dollars a billion dollar franchise.
How about we kick this beautiful couple one hundred grand
(39:41):
or pay for their future kids college, or pay off
their mortgage or do something that.
Speaker 1 (39:46):
Yeah, tell us what that money would mean. What would
that money mean? Would you use it for.
Speaker 7 (39:51):
That money like that? You know, for just you know,
your average couple getting by. You know, it's a blessing.
Obviously a DEVI will be paid, you know, sure would
be security, just you know, money that you don't have
that to someone like that is, you know, some change,
you know, it's what's that to him? But it's just
it's just that thought of you know, what can we
do what we do with that, you know, and just
(40:13):
the good that they would do with and you know
everyone around us, this family. It's just a different type
of blessing.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
Well, I still think and I believe that you're in
good position. So I wouldn't give up hope on that,
especially if you get the fans behind you and put
some pressure on this situation. And we're behind you, man,
We're behind you all the way because you did the
right thing, you know, as a fan.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
He handed it over.
Speaker 2 (40:33):
Plus, I think you guys were victim of some really
slick negotiating tactics. I really think they they put you
in a pressure situation and it happened so fast.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
That's who I'm seeing it.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
But we also saw somewhere recently that they offered you
some sort of fan experience.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
What was that about?
Speaker 12 (40:50):
Yeah, So I was contacted by Rat this morning. She
apologized for the way the situation went, and she offered
me to go back to Dodger Stadium at their next
home series, which would be the Padres on the twelve
they're getting those does out club beats, and we'll be
(41:11):
able to go on to the field and be here
for guying practice.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yeah it's a nice that's a nice gesturenal amber, but
that's not one hundred thousand dollars. I feel like we
got to get you this money. This is a billion
dollar team. This is a guy that pay them, pay them,
pay the pay. Seriously, the fads have to get behind you.
If someone doesn't understand that this is a couple that
could use this money in such a good way for
their family.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
For their future.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
This family represents l A, a family that represents LA
for sure. You guys are a great example of a
Dodger fan.
Speaker 12 (41:46):
Thank you. We're actually getting a lot of people calling
it fake fans like you don't even know us.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
No, And you know what, everyone was so excited when
you guys caught the ball. Yeah, what lesson did you
learn after all this? By the way, how would you
have handled it differently?
Speaker 12 (42:01):
For sure, we'll put up a fight. I wouldn't know.
For sure, they'll let him, let them separate me from him.
I really wanted to discuss discussing with him and the
part guys didn't have the opportunity.
Speaker 7 (42:13):
And really such Yeah, definitely have a little more time,
you know, to kind of process what's going on.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
You know.
Speaker 7 (42:20):
It's just something to kind of like have a game
plan between both of us, you know, and yeah, that's
kind of what we needed.
