hate the Yankees. It's a I think it's a solid

fan that it's a major misstep to not be there

to this is the captain misstepping year, something he rarely
did in his career. I think he is. That's what
makes it such a story and so odd. We rarely

saw Derek Jeter misstep ever in his career, and I
think he is. Why now now is this a clear
business decision of Hey man, I don't I don't do
that anymore. I don't live in the past. I live
in the future, and I don't want to be associated
with the hal Steinbrenner Yankees. I'm a George Steinbrener Yankee,
and I moved past that because I'm looking forward. These

other guys they live in the past. I'm Derek Jeter.
I live in the future. I move I move forward.
A common conversation Cavino and I have had over the years,
not only here at Fox in general, is I'm a
guy that likes to still actively play sports. Cavino likes
to say I left that, I put it behind me.
I left that in the past, Like Cavino played high
school in college baseball, and then it's like that's it.

I still play softball, you know. I mean, they won't
want to go to a high school reunion because I'm
past But my point is I still enjoy swinging a
bat throwing a ball. Jeter might think, Hey, listen, man,
my last at bat at Yankee Stadium was a walk
off single. I left as magical as I possibly could have.

I don't even want to swing that in that stadium again. Yeah,
but he doesn't have to go there.

everybody does, even when they do that. But when they
do that, Derek Jeter is still in shape. You could

still hit a home run out of Yankee Stadium. I mean, no,

a prideful guy. He wants to be remembered as the

you recently. They recently released a list of the most
games played by each player on each team, like who
are the top guys that suited up? Who has played

the most games in Dodger Blue, who's played the most
games as a Brewer, as a met And as far
as the Yankees go, with all the legends from Mantle
to DiMaggio to Maris to Reggie to Don Mattingly to
Aaron Judge, Clemens Cone, They're all going to be there.
Derek Jeter has played more games as a Yankee than

any other person that put on the pinstripes twenty seven
hundred plus games. Mickey Mantle's number two with twenty four

where he used to joke growing up on the East Coast,

be a Howard Stern Show appearance. But it's like bab
ba booie. It's like, no, they were thinking it was

because you thought it was Howard back in the day.
You're expecting the main guy to be there where it's
not the same. It's just like almost false marketing. It's

Jeter is not there. Then you hear that Mons is
disappointing many in your update. Aren't they going to be
doing a big New England Patriots dynasty, like big big event?

your thoughts on Jeets, which, by the way, as a
Mets fan, I respect you to. I like him a lot.
I think he hasn't really taken many missteps, and again

So the NL tight as your skinny jeans in the

only one that's you know it's over. Your Yankees are
four games behind Toronto. These are so good, yeah, and

they're currently losing to them. So now I don't mean

and the Yankees have fallen off. So yeah, it's it's

the big baseball fans, that's actually a four game set Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
So I guarantee Cavino becomes a big Tigers fan this
weekend absolutely put a scratch back into that Al East
teams like the Yankees could clamber weak ass teams, but
they show how how much work they need and how

many gaps they have. When they play elite teams like
the Tigers or the Blue Jays, they're just that much
better rich.

we say it every year, the best teams go through
terrible stretches, And for a minute, I felt like the
Dodgers couldn't buy a win, and they beat the Twins,

and they got a game in a couple hours against
the Twins at Dodgers Stadium. What's what's the status of
fred Wardo Freeman? Freddy Freeman's little banged up or what?

Yeah, I think the MRIs came back negative, but he's
day to day and all. So their closer Tanner went
out and they've just boy, they're they're plagued with injuries
with the bullpen in their starting rotation, and then the
bats went cold. That is a horrible combination.

Let me let me give everyone just a quick analogy.
You know, if you got little kids, you wonder, like
my kids the only kids that just love chicken nuggets,
and they'll bitch and complain about so and so, and
then every parent's like, no, no, no, my kids do
the same thing. Everyone thinks their team is the only
injured team. But I promise you go around baseball, everyone's
like you are. Are closer's hurt and this guy's hurt.

win while those good players try to get back in
