Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
How we feel on Wednesday on Fox Sports Radio C
and R. I feel fantastic, grateful, honored.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
To be here, wonderful to see you.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
What's up, Bud, Steve Covino, Rich Davis, super producer.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Danny G.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
The guy with the smooth buttery voice. He's a big
time Dodgers Raiders guy. He's our guy. Danny G and
Iowa Sam is on the Glockenspiel right now. It's always
kind of Dan Patrick and the dan Nettes to leave
that for us. He's the rock superstar on the Xylophone.
Iowa Sam and Spot is our video guy along with

(00:44):
Elijah and the Greatest team and all the land streaming
live Covino and Rich FSR, CoV I, n O, Covino
and Rich FSR on YouTube. We even have a live
chat and Spot gives us Midweek Major Later in the show,
the biggest headlines in sports and culture are they midweek
and major? But this hour giving away prizes on a

(01:04):
game we play every Wednesday on our normal show five
to seven on the East, two to four on the West,
Covino and Wretch.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
We call it Mike's Wednesday, Words of wisdom. Mike runs
his place, walks around who with all this wisdom Mike Mike,
And every office has a guy like Bike who he
just has much wisdom.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
And if you could repeat his words verbatim, you win
a turbo ball or are new and improved nerve footballs.
We were talking earlier about what quarterbacks are gonna be
the odd man out, Who's who's not gonna win? Who's
the Matt Ryan, the Philip Rivers, the Jim Kellyer, Dan Marino.

(01:42):
Especially with all this talk of Baker Mayfield being the
guy this year, and he is every year.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
It's it's well, who's gonna win?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Is it is this Lamar's year, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow,
And it's either Mahomes or in the years it's not Mahomes,
it's like, oh wait, Jalen Hurts or oh look, Matthew Staff.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
And it's never what you think.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And we see win those clothes all the time. And
then you only have a small pocket sometimes to make
it happen, and we forget that just because you're a
good quarterback doesn't mean that you're gonna have a team
that wins twelve plus games every year. That's in the mix.
So there's guys like Joe Burrow could get healthy and
the Bengals could just stink in a couple of years.
You know, Lamar, Derek Henry is only going to be

(02:26):
in his prime so long. Some of those key components
on that team will only be young for so long.
And then you got to ask yourself all these other
guys too, right, I mean, like Rock Perdy just got
paid a lot of money. Was that like a quick
window that's opened and closed in San Francisco? Who's the
odd guy out? Maybe there's more than one. Someone goes
on a run. Is Jordan Love in Green Bay?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Is that a guy that you're like, well, he's gonna
win one? And then you say, well, Jared Goff, I
mean there's a guy that will eventually get one. He
deserves it. We just named like eight players. Guess what,
most of them are not winning a super Bowl. And
we're talking to your upper echelon quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
And to add to all this, none of those guys
I just named are gonna win a super Bowl.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
You know why so many guys none of them are
gonna win Because I just read and this is mentioned
Herbert justin Herbert, him and him and Harball.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
They finally started to get it together and then bout
your boy perty didn bring poop in your ears. I just,
uh wow, Bo Nicks and Sean Payton at Combo in Denver,
they got high helpes.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Right, don't forget Gino Smith.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Stop it now. Let's not get silly.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
But all this is irrelevant because I just got a
message from our producer, Danny g from Twitter. Bears quarterback
Caleb Williams says that he wants to win eight Super
Bowls with the Bears to break Tom Brady's record.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
So look at that. All those other quarterbacks, you're in
trouble because Caleb is gonna win eight. I mean, it's
great to have goals eight of them. But Jackson dar
You don't think Jackson Dart's gonna want to win one.
Every young quarterback who's the franchise guy, that's a bold state.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
You just listened like half the start of the NFL.
Some of them will win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
No they I don't think so. I think Patrick Mahome's
not gonna win twelve more. Okay, I had to say
that about Tom Brady. Caleb is gonna be spread over
twenty years. I know.

Speaker 7 (04:19):
Yeah, Caleb Williams knocks out a decade. Yeah, seriously, wow's.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Not left with with all the flak, in all the
heat that Lebron got for saying not five flax oh
he won one?

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Oh flax flat. That's fuck two, not three, not four.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
I would be so hesitant to say anything like that,
but I mean, you gotta believe it, right, So good
for him. All right, let's let's uh God Willing, I
was Sam. We're all working together in ten years from now, right,
wouldn't that be nice? Some people are like yeah, Others
like no, ten years from now, the year is twenty
thirty five. Who's won one? Because all these guys are

(04:59):
going to be on the way out, all these guys,
if not already retired, because think about it, these are
a lot of these guys are from the draft class
of twenty eighteen, twenty seventeen. You know, I still believe
that Josh Allen wins one. So you think Josh Allen
is the guy. He wins one, and he does it
for all of Buffalo and all the fans that I won.
So let's let's play the Jim Kellyes of the world.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Let's play the game of one in one if you
had to do a little doozy of a two tier
parlay a future is being.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Talented to not continue to build around him and give
him what he needs to win. So I think it's
yeah him. So if I had to pick like one
guy right, one guy to win, and then on the
flip of it, could we know one guy to lose?
You never win one of these guys that unfortunately will
go easy then. And it's not because I don't think
he's awesome. I think he's the man, but health isn't
on his side until he proves me otherwise I'll see

(05:46):
Joe Burrow, all right.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
So you think Alan will win one eventually Burrow won't.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
As far as like great quarterbacks to have the potential
to win, yeah.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
I think Dan Campbell gets the Lions to the super
Bowl eventually. That would mean Jared Goff gets one, even.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
If it's like veteran status in a couple of years
or at some point Goff and the Alliance who won't
win one, Danny.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
Sorry, Dallas, cover your ears.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
I'm thinking it's going to be hard for dak to
hold up the trophy, and I like Dak by the
way Dak.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Is such a likable guy on a team that gets
a lot of a lot of crap. And You're right,
Dak is one of those guys that you don't think
he wants to win one.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
I was, Sam, you just said it best. I named
half the league because half the league has quote their
guy that they think could do it, but most of
them won't. Who is your pick who will win one?
Who won't? Because you just said, well, a lot of
these guys will. I don't think a lot of these
guys will. I think a couple will. I really don't know.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
It's called the prediction, Sam, none of us, No, I don't.
I'm not Madam Ruby from Pee Wee's Big Adventure The Alamo,
which has Biff Sports Almanac.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
I didn't think that the Eagles would win two super
Bowls in the last eight years.

Speaker 7 (07:00):
Let me break out, heah, Sam, pick your packers, say
it with your chest out.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Take Jordan Low.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Sure, I mean listen, because it seems to be a
charmed place to play.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Sure, I'll take Jordan Love to win one.

Speaker 8 (07:10):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Now I'm gonna throw another guy in the mix that
everyone thought, well he will, He'll clearly win one in
his career because he was it was he was generationally touted,
and they're doing pretty good this year. They had a
big letdown loss against Dan Byer Seahawks this week.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
What about Trevor Lawrence? Have we closed the book on
Trevor Lawrence?

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Or or we thinking, oh, you know what, it's funny
because we were closing the book on Trevor Lawrence and
I feel like he like lifted out, yeah, the pages
to the.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Relatively young in his career.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
He's like, no, no.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
No, not quite yet, No, no, no, here we are.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
And it feels like he's just getting started.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Yeah, I know, it does, It really does, So you
can't close the Book's prove another one. It's such a
funny game to play because something because he's not everybody
could win this time.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
It's really it's as simple as that. What about J. J.
McCarthy When he's healthy, Minnesota feels like he's their guy
long term and then but here's the other Minnesota win
a super Bowl. The other part of the story.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
Is there's deserving quarterbacks that should win, and then there's
ones that you'll be surprised that they won. So there's
gonna be a name in there, like I can't believe
that fill in the blank one, but Josh Sallen Listen,
because there's always that surprise story too of a quarterback
who just had a.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Great defense, or you know, somehow won a super Bowl. Listen.
It's so you're not even counting that gay.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
I don't want to compare it to the Grammys or
Oscars because that's subjective versus like earning it in a sport.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
But you know there are times where you're like that
that actors never won an Oscar, huh, or they never
won a Grammy. You find those, you know, those random
things like wow.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Say wow, Kyler Murray won a Super Bowl, but Lamar
Jackson never did.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
I'm just saying we might. It might happen. Well now
in every generation it has happened. That's why last years
a while because I'm not saying he's trash by any means,
but you know, Jalen Hurts jumped the pack. Hurts won
a Super Bowl. Meanwhile all these other guys have not,
so he has that over all of them.

Speaker 7 (09:04):
That's why bo Nicks might be a good answer in
this because that Broncos defense could take the team for.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
And we joke about certain guys, but like Joe Flacco,
who still finds jobs.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
He's a Super Bowl champion.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Up and you can't take it away from what I
was there. The lights were knocked out, Beyonce performed at halftime.
A lot of people don't know that Rich is the
guy that tripped over the cord. That's why the power
went out in that Super Bowl. But I mean, Joe
Flacco was there, hoisted the Lombardi. John beat Jim Harbaugh.
You can't take it away from Flacco, Nick Foles beat

(09:40):
Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
There's always gonna be those stories.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
But my point is we could wrap it with there's
no way on Earth all these guys could win.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
You gotta say God's Green Earth just to really bring
the point home.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
There's no way on God's green Earth that all these
guys win. And we're so convinced that you can say
green turf to just bring it into football. If you
want too much turf till going around. Sorry, won't do it,
won't do it. But yeah, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar
Jackson leading the pack of the Dacks, and Trevor Lawrence's

(10:11):
and you know, and where there's Jordan loves and guys
that everyone assumes, Oh they're great, they'll win one, will they.
This comes about because everybody, everybody is on the Baker
Mayfield bandwagon now and he deserves it'll be big, and
everybody has him winning the Super Bowl as of right now,

(10:33):
and that we've said for years. By week six, week seven,
you know where the teams are headed. You got a
good vibe of what's going on.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, and he's got everybody saying that it's the Buccaneers
year and he's playing like your MVP, so props to.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Him come in.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
No.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
That goes along perfectly to wrap up that conversation because
while we just mentioned all those guys, Baker not comes
out of nowhere. But if the Bucks, because they're well balanced,
well coach team and have some great young stars to
go with the veterans, if the Bucks win and Baker wins,
you'd be like, oh, Baker, he just took up essentially

(11:10):
one slot one year for all those guys that we
think are gonna win.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
No one saw Baker coming.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
No, when Baker was hanging in Carolina with Sam Darnold
in that classic picture of like look at these two guys,
how sad and now they're both making big money on
other teams. Yeah, congrats to him and and he's having
a year keep it up, no diggity, no doubt. So
I heard something on the way in today and it

(11:41):
has to do with duos.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Okay, okay, do you want to hear what I heard
on your way? And who are you listening to some
crappy rock channel on Serious XM?

Speaker 2 (11:50):
No, because I actually picked up Spots. So I didn't
want to offend him with system of a down too
early in the morning. I didn't want to offend him
with some mud vein.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
He was talking to you about Batman reruns.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Then no, no, no, no. So I'm in the car
and Spot. I had to pick up Spot because his
starter broke. With all the rain here in La, picked
up Spot put eighties on eight on.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Oh that was gonna say, like we we've you know,
worked at Serious XM for the last almost twenty, you know,
twenty years on and off doing different things.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
And I heard our guy Mark Goodman. Who's Mark great Man.
He's a great man. Do you mean the first ever
mtvv J. Yeah, with his afro Goodman.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
One of the great froze on TV Oh.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
He's like he could have been in the Jackson five
and genuinely, Danny g one of the nicest, he's super
cool to work with, super handsome guy. Mark Goodman's on
eighties on eight and he plays You're.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Right of Touch, I'm out of Touch, and he comes
out of the song.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
He's like, that's Hall of Notes on eighties on eight.
He's got this crazy swag about him. I'm Mark Goodman
and they are the greatest duo of all time. Hall
of Notes here and coming up BOYD George or whatever.
He starts yapping about, and I'm like, I look at spot.
I'm like, the greatest duo of all time. Oh you
know what he said, I'm sorry, I wrote it down,

(13:06):
most successful duo of all time. So there was like
just this matter of factness about it. The most successful
duo of all time. And I'm like, really, I got
to look it up. Really, I'm like, really, good Man,
not that I question you. I know you were hanging
out with Prince and Michael Jackson back then.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Mark Goodman stories always like Mark Goodman stories are always like,
so I was hanging with Madonna.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I'll never forget the time. It was me Darryl Hall,
John Oates, you know it was Madonna was trying to
get with me. So with Cindy Lauper.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Was that guy from Pleasing Academy, Steve Gutten, Yeah, he
was there.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
He just starts rattling off all these eighties that makes
the sound effects. Yeah, the guy that makes the sound effects.
He was there too, Wilson, what's up?

Speaker 3 (13:52):
Terrence?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Trent Tarby was there? Madonna, Cindy Lauper was sitting on
my lap. He has all these great stories of the eighties.
That's Hall of Notes, the most successful duo of all time,
eighties on eight Mark Goodman, I'm like, most successful duo
of all time.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
I love me some Hall of Oats.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
And there's a lot of brothers out there who are
always shocked to find out that they were white guys.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Oh my mom still thinks they're.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Black, right, Yeah, they got this whole stigma about them
where people were shocked to find out that they were white.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
They still are and now they're broken up after all
these years.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
I don't know if you know that. And John Oates
is doing his own thing. So that's the backstory there.
I looked it up though, just for the hell of it,
because not that I questioned Mark Goodman like.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
I said, he knows and they had Nina Blackwoochim did
in too, right. She's like, yeah, they are the best
deof that's right, Mark, they were.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
The most successful.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Alan Hunter Tromp didn He was like, well, roddy oh,
that's right, dippity do they were.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
So I went to my pal chat GPT and I
just searched through AI the most successful duo of all
time recording artists. And not that I'm trying to say
Mark Goodman was wrong, but they say Simon and Garfunkel
based on album sales, cultural impact and critical acclaim. Interesting,

(15:14):
So hey, hold on, O, its not debating it. I
think they're fantastic. I think we underrate them.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
I really do. They have so many songs.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
But based on that thought in life, but mostly in sports,
with that matter of factness that Mark Goodman threw out there,
there they are the most successful duo of all time?

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Who is that?

Speaker 5 (15:36):
In sports?

Speaker 2 (15:36):
With like no no debate, I would think I would
think with with little hesitation, some might say Jordan and Pippin.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
It's like we declare it as fact today? Is that
the fact?

Speaker 7 (15:51):
I mean to me I mean, I think Magic Johnson
and Kareem abdul Jabbar.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
If I looked it up on chat GPT. How about
I let you know what it says next. I don't care.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
No in sports, So if you want to, you can
play Homer games or you could play like you could
be subjective like I'm a Niners fan.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
So my thought Danny g is Joe Montana to jevery Rice.
That's your that's your that's your one two punch, that's
your best duo ever. But I can imagine if you
live in Los Angeles, you might say, yo, you said
Magic and who Kareem?

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Someone else might say shacking Kobe put it this way.
Chat GPT says one that we already said. But as
far as number two, we haven't even said it yet.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Oh I think I know we haven't even said it.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
And maybe something.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
No, it's actually a more current one in our forefront
of thoughts right here, but it's not. And I'll let
you know what that is interesting, Okay, so start thinking
about it.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
It could be on TV and movies in life, but
in sports, who's that? Matter of fact?

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Mark Goodman an it's are the most successful duo of
all time?

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Is it Cavino and Rich. Well, we're here for Dan
Patrick music. Sure it is TV, you know, think about it,
and let's get the phones going. Let's let's be interactive
eight seven, seven, nine to nine on Fox in for
Dan Patrick. Is there an obvious one two punch a duo?

(17:25):
The same est number one the same way our buddy
Mark Goodman. So matter of fact, it was like Hall
and Oh It's best duo in music. I believe them too.
I believe we're gonna declare one. Maybe you have a
different one of music.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Hey, well we'll take all your answers next right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan
Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Paully Fools Gohea with Tony Fosco.

Speaker 9 (17:52):
Yeah, as everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award
winning Polly and Tony Fosco Show. But instead of us
telling you how great we are, here's how Dan Packer
described us when he came on our show.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated. What what are you doing? Were
interrupting our promo?

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Yeah, it wasn't talking about you. You took those clips
totally out of context.

Speaker 9 (18:12):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 3 (18:16):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.

Speaker 9 (18:19):
Yeah anyway, just listen to the Pauli and Tony Fusco
Show on Iart Radio Apple podcasts.

Speaker 3 (18:24):
Oh wherever you get your podcasts?

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Yea, hey, good morning, it's Mark Goodman eighties on eight.
That's Hall of Oates, the most successful duo of all time?

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Coming up. We have men at work and wham eyes
love me some Mark Goodman.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
By the way, Cavino' rich in for Dan Patrick on
Fox Sports Radio, do it live from the Fox Sports
Radio studio. And you did hear your pal and my
pal Mark Goodman, so matter of factly say hall of
Oates most successful duo. And that's what got me though,
Rich is so matter of fact attitude about it where

(19:05):
I'm like, of all time? Wow, I you would know? Yeah,
I mean they're great. There's no debate there. I'm not
debating the greatness of Haull of notes, but is that fact?
Chat ChiPT says Simon and Garlfond call Mike who.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Runs this place? Who's gonna give us our words of
wisdom in a little bit, said he was listening the
show on his drive in and said he was getting
so mad, saying shren a Guard vocal Si Guard, who's
that to you?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
And you could also tie it into sports because there
seems to be one obvious answer, but there's one that
no one's brought up yet. And chat GPT says it's
arguably a close, very close number two. But before we
get to your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox again, Covino and Rich and for Dan
Patrick got to tell you about ti Iraq.

Speaker 5 (19:56):
Ti Iraq.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
For over forty.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Years, Tyrack's been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship Fast and free back
by free Road has a protection with convenient installation options
like mobile tire installation, tire rack dot Com the way
tire buying should be. I just asked Chad GVT what
the best rack is and tired didn't come up.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
That's weird. That's very weird.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Alright, let's go to your feedback listen in the world
of sports. I want to know who came up in
the world of sports. Sally Scuds from your eighties magazine.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
Nice, you would say Jordan Pippen, right, just because of
the success, and you know, they're almost like the Batman
Robin of the sports world. And there you go, best
duos Batman Robins.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
You say that though as a forty nine Ers fan,
because no, but my personal answer, as a little kid,
nothing gave me more joy than Joe Montana to Jerry
Rice pitch Down, I honestly not a forty nine Ers fan,
but not a forty nine Ers eightter, just a kid
of the eighties. That comes right to mind for me.
But I'll give away the chat GPT answer and then
get to the phone call, okay, and he guesses on

(20:59):
what there's saying, Like the number two is well, I.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Think Kobe as Shaq is. My answers are Montana, Rice,
Kobe Shack, Jordan Pippen.

Speaker 7 (21:09):
I'm going to think outside the Bucks because Covino said
it's newer. I'm thinking Tom Brady, Gronk.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Wow, Tom Brady, rob Gronk four Super Bowl wins and
you know, Dominant together and then they have Serena and Venus.
I don't think anyone's gonna say that as far as
they're doubles, Dominant zero Yeah, let's go to your phone calls.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
We'll start in Fresno. Say what's up to Eli? Eli?

Speaker 8 (21:36):
Ca?

Speaker 3 (21:36):
You know Rich? And for Dan Patrick, what's up Buddy, Yo?

Speaker 5 (21:41):
Eli? His connection was struggling a little bit.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Eli to Tyree, not legendary enough, Scott.

Speaker 10 (21:51):
Scotty, Hey, I've got two ones, an honorable man's and
that probably no one will say, but a lot of
people don't know that Harry Sanders and Therman Thomas played
in the same backfield in college.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
It's a good one. But I don't think you're right.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
I don't think people would would note that because you're sharing,
you're sharing the load essentially. Here's what I'm gonna say though,
before we wrap up the phone calls. If I was
doing a Mark Goodman eighties on eight sort of intro
or outro here on Fox Sports Radio, I like Jordan
and Pippin your most successful duo of all time. I

(22:29):
really think that's it. If we were to matter of
fact they just declare it, it would be that. But
there are some debatable ones. Dan in Oregon, what's up, Dan?

Speaker 11 (22:39):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Mahomes and Kelsey, and then
I got to throw back one Derek Thomas and Neil Smith.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
That's a good one, by the way.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
The Mahomes Kelsey one, let's not let that be under
the radar, Like I'm surprised that wasn't even just thrown
around the last five minutes, right, Yeah, they won multiple
super Bowls together.

Speaker 6 (22:58):
I could say, Troy Aikman and its Smith, then yeah,
we're talking about three super Bowls.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
But if guys are one more than that, then but
they take I think that.

Speaker 2 (23:05):
But I think Kelsey maybe because their stories not even
written yet. Cowboys though, But Mahomes and Kelsey, Yeah, I
agree with that.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Danny.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
I think Michael, you're now you're leaving out Michael Irvin.
That's it was almost like the the three of those dudes.
But Mahomes and Kelsey even pop culturally now with Taylor
Swift and you know.

Speaker 5 (23:24):
Just everything that knocks them down the list.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
I feel like that elevates them to like, Wow, they
their wives hang out and Taylor Swifts and I think
it takes a little time, you know, to to look
back and put them in the conversation, but they're obviously there.
There's no question now successful duos Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison,
they don't have the accolades and multiple rings like other people.

(23:50):
Well you say rings. It doesn't even have a ring
to it though, right, it has to have that that
ring to it, like Batman and Rob and Laurel and Hardy.
It has to have it has to have a ring
to it, and it doesn't. Oh Ason, Gary Ayson, Gary
uh Mark and Tampa what's up?

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Mark?

Speaker 8 (24:08):
Hell?

Speaker 3 (24:09):
What's up? Buddy?

Speaker 12 (24:10):
Hey? One of that don't get talked about enough. Bray
Lewis and Ariy greatest safety of the greatest linebacker, but
both one defensive player.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
You also know that.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
I mean, that's that's what made that defense so dominant.
That's why that that's why that Ravens.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
Team was feared.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
But duos, I don't look at them together. But again,
same team, same dominance. Let's go to Vegas our buddy Trip,
what's up Trip, Hey Trip?

Speaker 8 (24:34):
Hey, good morning.

Speaker 11 (24:35):
Y'all are the greatest CNR, but I thought of the
second greatest CNR.

Speaker 10 (24:39):
I'm gonna go with cal Notton Junior and Ricky Bobby shake.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
And bake baby Shaking.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
That's a good one. Oh wait, who are the two
figure skaters in the Will Farrell movie?

Speaker 3 (24:47):
What was that spot? Do you remember, Uh, what was it? Why?
I think it's cute that you're pretending not to know
these figure skaters. It was Chaz Michael Michaels. Yet has
Michael Michaels and the other one? Uh the greatest Duosh
Nancy Kerrigan and uh Tanya Harding, Ty Harding and Jeff Yeah,

(25:10):
there you go. So who's that? Matter of fact answer?

Speaker 2 (25:14):
Will wrap it up with a few more phone calls
than Mike's Wednesday words of wisdom.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Oh look who it is? Drew Mack in Nashville. Hey,
Drew Mack, Hey, Drew mack.

Speaker 12 (25:21):
Hey, good morning boy.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
What's up man?

Speaker 12 (25:23):
Here's a duo you almost never say one without the other,
and that stock Malone.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Yes, stocked in to Malone, Yes, gotta have yes, gotta
have that one two punch sort of chemistry.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
And that's definitely in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
And then to tie it to a previous conversation today
we talked about how mahomes Se blocked a bunch of
other people from winning. So far, that's a duo Malone
and stocked In stocked into Malone. That if Michael Jordan
didn't exist, they may have had a couple. Let's go
to Irving, this is matthic conson what's up very yo, Texas.

Speaker 8 (26:02):
I don't know, it's fun of the spectrum, but I
would say.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
Custom otto.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
Man. You know, I was trying to think about that
because boxing is, you know, a solo sport. But but
I would And then I said one two punch and
I was like, who is that one too?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
But you know when you when you were thinking boxing,
were you thinking like Irving where it was like boxer
and trainer or were you thinking like to me? Because
then you I'm thinking maybe if guys fought each other
a couple of times like a Lee Fraser, Tyson Holyfield, Like,
if you fought a guy at a couple of legendary fights,
is that a duo where they're they're legendary matchups?

Speaker 3 (26:36):
Should have linked them? Does a moment link people like
Bill Buckner Mookie Wilson like are you linked to someone
sometimes because of a moment in a different way? In
a different way, but I wouldn't put them. Yes, I
get you.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
I like the I like the train because their opponents
right or rivals, But yeah, the trainer one Mike Tyson.
When you when you think of the greats, there was
always someone there to help them, Custom.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Custom ottol and Tyson.

Speaker 5 (26:58):
Who do you? Who do you?

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Freddie Roach with the most they lifted each other. Uh
Sandiago of Whales, Hey, Terry, what's up?

Speaker 10 (27:09):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (27:10):
Guys? Gonna go get rid of some of this recency
bias and go way back to the forties with Doc
Blanchard and Glenn Davis, mister inside mister outside for Army,
undefeated for three years and they both won the Heisman.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
I'll take your word. It's a good one. I'll take you.
I'll take your word for it.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
Now, if you go back to those legendary like Yankees teams,
we know and Babe Ruth was running really fast and
black and white, Ruth and Garrick.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Yeah, Ruth and Garrig might be the answer there. I
would say yeah, because they were the biggest stars of
that of that dynasty. But again there was so many stars.
But yeah, those were the two. So that's your one
two punched. There was there ever an the the bat.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
If you want to go down that route, you had
the Bash brothers together, canseco I met Ozzie and jose
can Sea, jose Knseko and Mark Maguire is a great
answer you know what, I'm intrigued.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
When you think of great sports duos, Yeah, and they won.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
So when you think of bullpens, I know you're gonna
be like, well, you know, at one point it was
like John Wetland and Marianna Rivera? Has there ever really
been a great eighth nine ninth inning? Like one two
punch's The closes are memorable, but I don't think there's
ever been a long term eight nine.

Speaker 7 (28:29):
You know, I'm thinking of NBA. I haven't heard a
lot of NBA. How about the Splash Brothers.

Speaker 10 (28:33):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
That's a great answer, that is That's a fantastic answer.
I'm surprised it took this long. Let's go to Levi
and Cincinnati. Levi will take two more and then we'll
do a little Mike's Words of Wisdom with way some prizes.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
What's up, man?

Speaker 12 (28:46):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (28:46):
Fellas?

Speaker 8 (28:47):
I was, I'm gonna go kind of a little bit
of a different round.

Speaker 12 (28:50):
I got two Phil Jackson and Michael Jordan or Phil
Jackson and Kobe Are.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
You're from Cincinnati? I think we're gonna say Chris Sabo
and his goggles.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
That was my answer. It's a good one.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
I mean, Phil jackson Man just a winner. As far
as music, anyone else come to mind? That's right up
there with Hall of Notes, Loggins, Mussina. We said that, right,
Captain Nintanil. I'm trying to think of like current ones.
Is there any any current duos legendary?

Speaker 5 (29:27):
I mean, for me, it's Outcast, that's a great one.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
Yeah, it is in the world of hip hop for sure,
any transcended hip hop with some of their hits, you know,
they're called the Fab Four.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
But as far as the writing duo, Lennon McCartney legendary,
as far as writing credit, he's not respecting George and Ringo. Yeah,
that's true.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
So again, it's not that easy of an answer, because
there's always like ancillary people, like we said, are a
third superstar, dynamic duo, the Hall of Notes of sports.
Who else comes to mind? Will wrap it up with
your phone call. Now, let's say hello to Tom and Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
What's up Tom?

Speaker 5 (30:02):
Hey? Tom?

Speaker 8 (30:03):
Hey man.

Speaker 12 (30:04):
This is a little bit of a stretch, but baseball
and Yankees.

Speaker 11 (30:07):
Uh, there's a small overlap between Joe Denaggio and Mickey
Mantlet together put together quite a string.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Joe, Joe Damaggio He's like, you wanna side. I was like,
I mean Maris, Maris and Mantle were around the same time, right,
they were competing and battling. All right, well you know
what your answers at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio,
Eric being rock him, Danny g Oh, that's a good one.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
How about nice and smooth as funky? Oh yeah, there
you go. Now we're going.

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Take it back to house party.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
DJ jse Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
All right, Uh, let's uh, let's welcome our pal Mike
who runs his place. Mike, I know you were upset
because you're a big uh you're a big pan of
Simony garfriend.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
H Yeah.

Speaker 13 (30:57):
Well, I mean clearly they are the number one duo
of Volta. I don't think there there's any question about that.
But I really think we're all sleeping on middle vanillity million.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
They're a duo, you know what they're looking back.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
It's a shame how they were sort of dragged through
the mud when in today's world we listen to fake
music period.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Nowadays all the time, Yeah, all the time.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Well, every week on a Wednesday during our afternoon show,
Mike gives us words of wisdom something he wants to
pass on to you, guys, maybe a life lesson, a
phrase to live by and all you have to do.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
We make it really simple.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
It's simpleton repeat it word for word, and you want
a price. We set a briby to listen. We got
Cavino on Rich Fox Sports Radio, Turbo in their footballs
and some koozies and a little prize pack. So if
you want to win, b dialon eight seven, seven, nine
nine on Fox.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
This is what we call Mike's words of wisdom.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
It's time for the guy that runs this place.

Speaker 7 (31:54):
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mike does not run this place.

Speaker 5 (31:58):
He is not in charge of everything. He has no
power over really anybody here. He does not run this place.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
It's Big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
All right, whenever you're ready, Big Mike.

Speaker 13 (32:16):
The mind is everything what you think you become. So
maybe stop thinking about tacos.

Speaker 3 (32:26):
Oh, it's brilliance right there. I'm so offended that I
can't even remember the words. That's got to be racist?
Am I going to stop thinking about that? Can't about?
I have left over from yesterday? So if you can
repeat what a buddy Mike said, word for word.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
I think, Rich, we should have it one more time.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
You want to read it one more time, one more
time for everybody read it. He knows it off the dome.

Speaker 5 (32:49):
All right, Covino, go to your pan flut again.

Speaker 13 (32:52):
The mind is everything what you think you become. So
maybe stop thinking about tacos.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
I feel smarter after hearing that, and I'm hungry. So
if you could repeat that verbatim, you win. Simple as that.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine. On Fox we take all
your phone calls and we pick a winner. We do
it next here on Coveno and Rich in for Dan Patrick.

of Wisdom. Big Mike, the guy that was just here
runs this place. He has wisdom. You have to repeat

(34:13):
it verbatim for a prize, and then we'll wrap up
the phone calls. Of dynamic duos, and I want a
new angle on this as well. We have the dynamic
duos in sports or music? What comes to minds? I
want to know if you think there's a clear answer
as far as what's the dynamic duo in broadcasting now
in the booth, in the NFL, in baseball and basketball,

(34:35):
is there a duo that you're like, Oh, they're clearly
at the top of.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
The game right now. So we'll wrap up with your
phone calls and coming up, we got midwek Major, the
biggest stories in sports and pop culture.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
We decide here together, are they mid Stories week or Major?
We do that every Wednesday. All right, let's get a
winner for Mike's Words of wisdom. Let's get some dinosaur barbecue.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Yeah, we got a turbo ball to give away.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Let's go to of the Carousel Center. Let's go to Turtles.
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Let's go up to Syracuse, my old stomping grounds and
say what's up to Kevin?

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Hey, keV? Hey Kevin, Hey boys, what's up buddy?

Speaker 5 (35:13):
That much?

Speaker 12 (35:15):
I got it?

Speaker 5 (35:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (35:17):
Ready, let it establish and here we go.

Speaker 10 (35:21):
The mind is everything what you think you become.

Speaker 13 (35:27):
So maybe stop thinking about tacos.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
Yeah, that's on.

Speaker 2 (35:34):
That's a you know it, yo, keV. Appreciate you man,
and uh keep rocking in the QS man, Man, good
for you.

Speaker 5 (35:43):
Great congratulations keV.

Speaker 7 (35:45):
Going to add you to the mailing list as soon
as the neur football's arrived.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
We have a five call limit on this because not
everybody gets it on the first shot.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
That's how you do it, man.

Speaker 5 (35:55):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
I'll see it up in Syracuse. I'm never going to
go back there again until they give me some type
of love.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
At my college. It's my role.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
I mean, look, you went to a school that's known
for great broadcasting. I went to Montclair State University. Where's
my accolades. I'm in for DP right now. No, they
don't even acknowledge.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Montclair Yeah, Montclair State University MSU, the RedHawks.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
Let I'm your guy.

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Let me go back to the phones with you, and
we're talking about those dynamic duos in sports, music, entertainment.
Let me throw this one in the world of broadcasting. Now,
is it Tarico and Collinsworth? Is it Bucket Aikman? Is
it Tony Romo and Jim Nantz? Is it my dude,
Kevin Burkhart and Tom Brady? Who is who is the

(36:45):
dynamic duo in broadcasting?

Speaker 3 (36:47):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Boom, we'll take your phone calls eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox. I'm a fan of Greg Olsen when
he was at Burkhart. I like Tom Brady, but I
thought Burkhart and Olsen had something special going on.

Speaker 3 (36:59):
They did.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
But then again, I love Danny g You're la Dodgers
guy who does football.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Joe Davis is great. What I got of good broadcasting teams?
Right now? All right, let's uh, you know, I have
an unpopular answer.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
I was well, only unpopular because so many people love
to hate on Joe buck But I find him to
be smooth and familiar and familiarity and I think is
bucking Akman.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
I do as far as current day, I think what
makes me feel.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
Bears fans don't agree with you, dude.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
So many people I know, so many people don't to me,
gets so much unnecessary hate.

Speaker 7 (37:33):
Chicago fans have a problem with Akman right now for
being critical of But.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
You know what, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Historically, though, the number one answer is Madden in summer,
all of all time. Yeah, that's that's your answer. Traditionally
I would say now Romo and the answer good. I
love Kevin Burcott. I think he's the best, but I
don't know who. I don't know if you have as
a solid enough number two with Brady.

Speaker 7 (37:56):
Right now, most of the lists online showing Buck and
Aikman as number one.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
I'm a fan of Turco and I know collins Worth
bothers people, but I find him like funny and insightful.
I rolly at times with his obvious observations. But I
think it feels big because you know, it's Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
It's a big game.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
When you hear Tarico, that's a great point. Yeah, certain guys,
you know, when you hear their voice, it's a big deal.

Speaker 7 (38:22):
And rich On the come up. You mentioned both guys separately.
Greg Olsen is now with Joe Davis for Fox.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
I'm telling you that's probably their best combo, and I
love KB. I'll tell you Baseball has done a great job.
I know ESPN and certain networks get crap rightfully so
and Apple TV. There have been some broadcasting teams for
these national games where it's like that wasn't good. Joe
Davis great announcer, Adam Amin m h has been doing

(38:48):
a great job. And I think teaming up Frank cor
with Ron Darling and Verducci, some of these teams have
been really good for baseball. So you know, when you
when we live in a world of a lot of critics,
you could.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
Put them in the hall. Are very good though, rich,
but they don't work together on the usual or DP
would say yeah, because they're not. They're not a dynamic duo.
They just happen to be working together doing a great job.

Speaker 7 (39:10):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Let's go to Scottie in Florida. Let's up Scotty.

Speaker 12 (39:15):
Good morning, guys. I'm gonna go old school on this one.
Bird McHale and if you want duos in a rivalry,
I'm going Palmer Nicholas, Judge, Smails, al turb Those are good.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Those are great answers.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Now, I love the angle of could someone be a
duo with their rivals like Magic and Bird?

Speaker 4 (39:34):
Is that.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Another that's a topic for another day because it doesn't
because those are called rivalries exactly. That's really it. There's
a whole word for that. Oh wait, what we're saying
dynamic duos. That means they're on.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
The same team. Wait, that would be yeah, rivalries. Write
that down. We'll do that next another time. Say I
to wait a minute, that's something different. Those are opponents. Uh,
what's up Tony and Oregon?

Speaker 3 (40:01):
What's up? Man?

Speaker 11 (40:03):
Hey, good morning guys on the broadcast team right now,
even though I'm a Bears fan, maybe maybe because I'm
critical of Caleb too, but I'll go with Akminn and Buck. Yeah,
and then I don't think anybody brought up like in
the golfing world, so I was trying to think this
something on. I think Tiger Woods and the Butch Harmon
they did some pretty good damage together.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
Yeah, you know he's from Oregon. I'll give a shout
out again, no commercial here, I said. I watched Chad
Powers last night and I said, I've heard no one
talk about it, so I thought it would probably stink,
and I thought it was great. The football comedy on
Hulu Chad Powers played at Oregon that the show. The

(40:44):
show starts where he blows the national championship for the Ducks.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
So all right, let's go to Fargo and say, had.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
A mic.

Speaker 12 (40:52):
Hey man.

Speaker 10 (40:53):
I just wanted to say, Greg Olsen is becoming a
class of his own, so he needs someone else with
him because he's so good.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
He really is good, and I love KB. And then
Joe Davis, I think either one.

Speaker 12 (41:05):
Yeah, yeah, he's famous.

Speaker 10 (41:07):
Man, he kills it. And then I would say Martin
Lawrence and Will.

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Smith Man that's how they want to end on I
think that's great. That's a great one. Thanks for I calling.
We appreciate it. Mike Lowry and if you just joined us.
I was listening to eighties on eight on the way
in today and Mark Goodman was like, and there they
are hauling oats, the most successful duo of all time.

Speaker 6 (41:27):
We're going to bring up Martin Lawrence and Will smith
We have to say, like Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder,
we don't have to They were like five movies together.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
And by the way, your way in today was two
ten no spelt one eighty three. Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Wait now you gotta do the Dan Patrick thing. Hey Rich,
David six foot one ninety five, five ten and three
fourths one eighty something, thank you. All right, so you
could add at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio
most successful duos of all time in life and in sports.
But we declare it that I it's it's Jordan's Pippin.
But don't forget about Brady and Gronk because the Montana

(42:05):
and Rice.

Speaker 3 (42:05):
All right, we got more Covinian Rich. We'll do Midweek
Major and dive more into the Dodgers, some playoff, baseball, NFL,
all coming up right here, Fox Sports Radio,

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
