Steeve and you guys are so nice to your listeners.
Thanks mom. So congrats again to Eli for playing Chipottle
worker or w NBA player. We should probably give him
one anyway, is it too late, because yeah, I think
Rich is the big loser.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
I stick at this game.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
I know Dicky Davis is in Texas for the holidays.
When you come into New York. Aren't you going to
New York and then back to La Dude?
Speaker 5 (01:32):
The only bummer about living in southern California and my
wife's framily from Texas. I'm from New York is that
all my vacation is spent like road tripping and family stuff.
And it's like visit this cousin, this uncle, this mom
and dad and it's a nightmare.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
But I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
You know what, though, at some point in life, you
got to take a stand and say, you know what,
I'm taking a proper vacation. If you want to see me,
I'm not dragging my kids around anymore, come visit me
wherever I'm at. How about that time to put your
foot down.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
You don't think My wife and I have had that
conversation ten times in the last forty hours.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Of course, so if you're not piecing it together. Rich
is making his rounds visiting family in Texas and in
New York and then back to La which is where
we live. So we're from the East Coast I'm from
New Jersey. Rich is from Long Island. Always a pleasure
to be here on the Herd. Now there's a story
about Zach Wilson. We got to get to Zach Wilson.
(02:26):
Super handsome dude, Denver Broncos quarterback, former jet You know
Zack Wilson, Well, it goes back through his high school days.
Apparently he dated this girl named Abby Smoke Show, Abby
Guile or Gile. Abby is his ex girlfriend. They dated
(02:49):
from high school to two thousand and two. Okay, follow
me now, Zach Wilson recently got engaged to his now fiance, say,
longtime girlfriend Nicolette Delano. But guess who else got engaged
just this weekend, Rich, Let me guess Zach Wilson's longtime
(03:10):
ex girlfriend. Zach Wilson's a long time ex girlfriend. So
Zach Wilson announced his engagement beautiful, blonde modelesque Nicolette Delano.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Right, dude, he's got a type. I could tell for
the X and the car girl, and it's my type. So,
Zach Wilson, you may stink in the pocket, but in
the bedroom you must be slaying it because these two
girls are beautiful.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Maybe it's more his type because he's with them. So
Zach Wilson announces his engagement, he's happy. And then his
ex girlfriend announces her engagement. Now here's the kicker. She's
now engaged to his former college roommate, Dax Milne, who's
(03:55):
a wide receiver for the Commanders. So Dax is a
specialist for the Commanders, a receiver return specialist. And again,
they used to be good buds in college roommates. So
it gets a little sticky because here's his old bud
(04:15):
with his ex girl. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
I know for a fact, Covino and I have been
friends for twenty years. Yes, and I'm not a jealous
weirdo type. In fact, I'm probably one of the least
jealous people in a relationship.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Hey, live your life, I trust you, blah blah blah.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
But Covino and I, it would be very difficult for
me to ever date or have been with a woman
that has been with Cavino. When your best bud date someone,
it's just so oddly off.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Limits for so many reasons.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Well, you have to run it buying your bud, right,
That's just part of the etiquette involved here. You know,
there are a few chosen ones we call them chosen
ones because Rich and I have been friends for so long,
even to our single days, there were girls that we
have hooked up with, not at the same time, but
we've both hooked up with And it's I know, but
(05:09):
you do have to give the courtesy. It's like you
hit a three point and you want that courtesy. If
Rich is gonna hook up with her and I hooked
up her in the past, you have to give the
courtesy like, hey, you don't care right, like no, So
I imagine Rich just on like bro code alone. I imagine
that Dax being Zax Dax and Zach how lame. I imagine
that Dax being Zach's old college roommate. He did throw
(05:33):
it by him at one point. You have to assume, well,
Zach Wilson's happy, He's got his beautiful fiance. Now what
does he care? So, to simplify it, Zach Wilson's college
roommate got engaged to his old ex girlfriend. That's really it.
That's the story. A little bit of a drama there,
drama showing people love drama. Now, the question is that
(05:54):
this twofold, Yeah, can you get with someone or do
you feel comfortable dating someone that used to date one
of your friends, one of your family members. I know
people that are like, yeah, you know, my wife used
to date my brother, and I'm like, what to me?
The roommate thing is weird for Zach Wilson Cadino solely
because at one point in college, when Zach Wilson was
(06:18):
dating this girl, he probably told his roommate, y'all, can
you leave the room because we're gonna get it on,
or maybe even when he was in the room. Yeah,
and that happens in college, believe it or not, It
definitely happens. So he may have heard some action going
down with the woman he's now with. And how do
(06:38):
you think that Dax and Zach root for each other? Right,
There's got to be a weird competitiveness too, because you know,
who's with the better football player, who's with the you
know who's with the guy with the better career. It's
all these little things and they're all stupid in juvenile,
but it's it's a bit of a drama show.
Speaker 5 (06:58):
Like I said, I think here's what you gotta think about, Cove.
You gotta think about how the younger generation is so
more much more open with these type of things. Than
our generation or parents or grandparents like it. They're so
willy nilly about who they hook up with, who they've
(07:18):
been with that.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
I bet you they.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
Don't even care. I bet you they all hang out
in high five. It's it's a different generation, so I
think they don't care.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Perhaps you're right, but most people don't like to know
that their buddy got with their woman, and vice versa. Like,
we work with the guy and I'm not gonna call
him out, but we work with a guy who's happily married,
but he also got with his wife's sister, right, and
he does talk about that all the time. So behind
(07:49):
closed doors, don't think for a second, Zach Wilson's not
saying to all his buddies, Yeah, you see Dax's girl, Yeah,
I used to that's my ex girlfriend. I used to
get with her. She was mine. It's always that you
have that one up on that, you know what I mean.
It's it's still an awkward thing going on because you
always have that look. I dated girls that hooked up
(08:10):
with Rich. I never wanted to take them as serious
as maybe I could have or should have, because I
knew Rich would always have that in his back pocket.
And he would tell our mutual friends, Yeah, Kavino's Girlfriendhi,
going with her? Oh no, no no, But I never
wanted to give you ever the chance or satisfaction to
(08:32):
try to do that. So any girl that I may
have hooked up with, that maybe you previously hooked up
with years before or whatever, I would have never put
myself in position for you to have that weak ass
bragging right on me, you know. And that's what Zach
has on DA's in this story. Well, there's a couple
layers here. It's not all about hooking up. But let
(08:53):
me explain. And by the way, those couple random as
you call them, chosen ones in our single days that
let's say you and I both have had moments, by
the way, that that's a joke, but it's not. There's
been like maybe three girls ever that Rich and I
both hooked up with coincidentally in our single days.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
I mean, keep in mind we're in our forties now twenties,
so it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
But here's my question. Yeah, when you're rolling in similar
circles and yeah, it's just odd.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
The thing is spot you know, you talk about small towns.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
This conversation doesn't apply because in small towns, if you
don't date who your friend dated, you're not going to
date anyone. There might be twenty kids in the school.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
No for sure. What happens the old village bicycle? Yeah, yeah,
well you know what. You know what they're calling By
the way, speaking of village bicycles, you know what they're
calling Abby who dated again Zach and is now engaged
to his old college roommate a Trollope, no, they're calling
him a homie hopper? Is she a homiehopper? It is rude,
but but but I'm giving you the story. Like, if
(09:56):
you open up any story about Zach Wilson on any
platform today, that's the story.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
I think it's rude because guys don't get called that.
Women get called that. So I will get the women's
back on this. But you know, there's three layers here,
But that's part of the story. Like, Hey, isn't this wrong?
Let's here for rich champion for feminism. Yeah yeah, now
you're number one, goes champion of feminism. In an attempt
to make me look terrible for telling the story? Isn't
(10:24):
he great?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
You ever read? You're the greatest guy?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Man?
Speaker 2 (10:28):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (10:29):
It took you twenty years to acknowledge that greatest guy.
Layer one, if one of those random girls that you
and I have both had a moment with, what if
hurt now husband or boyfriend? Get is this is a
long time ago. What if that guy came home and
he goes, hey, babe, I found my new favorite podcast
radio show Covino and Rich Does she tell him?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Was she gonna tell I hooked up with both of them?
I'm just asking. I mean, no, no, no, no. You
don't owe anybody that information of your past. I'm a
firm Is it gonna do any good in your current situation?
I understand you never want to be the last to
know or feel like you're the odd man out, But
if it's not going to help your current situation and
(11:09):
there's nothing going on that's that's suspect, then there's no
need to rub it in anybody's face.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
Well take it away from me and you. The stories
about Zach Wilson, his former roommate, his fiance, her fiance,
there's two layers. Is it uncomfortable and would you be
able to date someone that used to be in a
relationship with a friend? And Layer two of this could
be no layer two is would you be able to
(11:36):
seriously date someone if one of their exes is a
bit intimidating, Because I remember you and I met someone
once and the guy said, you know, I don't know
if I could date her her ex she used to
hook up with Shaquille O'Neil.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Do you remember that.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, intimidating in many different ways. Yes, I could imagine, right,
hard to live up to the massive personal ai O'Neill. Yeah,
you know, I get what you're saying. Look, Rich, I
think it's okay to give it a go with someone
(12:11):
if it's out of great intentions, if it's true love.
For example, my brother true story recently hooked up with
his buddy's ex and it was ancient history, but his
buddy found out and that friendship's over. Yeah, you know
what I mean. So that's what I mean. It's like,
(12:31):
there's a lot of drama. It's unnecessary. Did you really
have to go there? Did you really have to do it?
If it's in the name of love, then I think
it's fair. I do. I think it's fair, and I
do wish. We all wish Abby and Dak's a happy
relationship together. But again, Dax and Zach Wilson were roommates
at one point. That's Zach Wilson's ex Danny g has
(12:53):
a story too, Rich. Let me flip the script for
a second a little bit. So we're talking about could
you date someone that was once with a friend of yours?
I would try not to, but yeah, you can add
the layer of work.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Do you feel comfortable taking a job where you're replacing
someone that got fired that you know in the world
of sports, in the world of broadcasting, sales, anything like Yo,
let's say your best buddy John has a gig, he
gets fired and like, hey, Cavino, you can now have
John's gig.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Is that in bad taste? Or is it?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Like?
Speaker 5 (13:24):
Yo, man, I gotta do what I gotta do.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
You know that happens in sports all the time, that
happens in life. Yeah, you got a job to do.
I'd say you'd tell it, you run it by your buddy,
But hey, man, this is what I got to do.
I don't think that's anything personal, right, You're just doing
your job at that point, but it is awkward.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
Zach Wilson, I anticipate a big year from him, and
I say that because it can't get worse now he's
happily engaged, and Danny g aren't. The reports coming back
that Zach Wilson is looking super sharp in OTAs and everything, like,
he's looking like a different.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Man, same reports we heard last offseason.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
Yeah, I guess you're right.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
But Rich, you know, you did bring up the exactly Danny,
you brought up the point that, for all we know,
and this is all sort of gossipy, scandalous speculation all
over on social media and the Internet today, But for
all we know, everybody's hunky dory. Everybody's happy. They all
get along. It's ancient history and they're all happy for
each other. That's probably the truth. There's a there's a
(14:26):
very famous story where George Harrison was dating Patty Boyd,
who was quite the looker, I guess back in the day,
and Eric Clapton had the hots for his buddy George's girlfriend.
You know the story, right, So Eric Clapton He's like, yeah,
(14:49):
you know, George is a great guitar player, but I'm
better and I want his girlfriend. He wrote Leyla for
Patty Boyd and basically stole her from George Harrison, and
they were friends. They were like guitar compadres, and as
it turns out, they all got along and George and
(15:12):
Eric Clapton's friendship remained, and Patty Boyd was that one
in the middle. And here's the thing, though, everybody looks
at Eric Clapton like, yo, man, that's kind of messed up,
right in Laila stealing his girl and all that sort
of thing. But you think George Harrison was lacking in
the in the women department, I highly doubt it. He
was a beatle, right, And what about accountability from Patty?
Speaker 5 (15:38):
She's the one that went with both of them. I
got a sports store to tie it end. If we're
talking about Zach Wilson and his ex roommate now with
his ex girlfriend, you're a New York Yankees fan, why
don't we talk about Fritz Peterson. Fritz Peterson and Mike
Kekch two former Yankees that swapped wives, not like for
(16:01):
one night, like they fell in love with each other's
wives and then they married the other women.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Isn't they're a weird fun fact where they even swapped
the dogs or something right there? Is right? Like, they
swapped lives for real and it worked. That's why you
really can't judge. Everybody does their own weird thing and
if it works for them, fine, great, grand wonderful. But
it is crazy to hear they swapped out lives, wives,
(16:26):
dogs and everything else. So based on that, again, Rich
pose the question, can you date your homies girl and
vice versa or do you always feel like your homie
has one on you? And Danny g I know you
have a story.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
I mean that could be immature of thinking or it
could just be like I said, I think younger kids
now are so casual with those type of things that.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Be like, yeah, dude, I got with her.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Yeah no cap uh you.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Know toilet Riz they'd say something nonsense that would and
be like okay with it.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Yeah, And definitely were we think long and hard about
like that, because, like Covino said, you in what you
picture in your mind. I'll give you an example here.
Now all roads led to my better half. So I'm
happy with the way it worked out. The year was
two thousand.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
The year was two thousand, thou my friend two K,
my friend Tyrone and Oxnard and earlier you did your
shiver voice yeah on the mean streets of Oxnard, California.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Boxhard famous for boxing and rappers and beats. He had
dated a girl that was just outside our circle of friends.
They were never serious. She alluded to the fact that
they never fully hooked up. I don't know if she
was telling me the truth or not right, but really
cool girl. I just couldn't get it out of my head.
Though we went on a few dates in the movie office,
(17:45):
space kept popping up in my mind. Blumberg, Yeah, yeah,
And I think that's one of the biggest hurdles to
get over, is you, at least if you're a normal person,
you picturing them with your friend.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
You're right about that. Everybody has a right. So any
girl you're with, she was with somebody else, and that's fine,
and that's just life. And who cares you mature and
you don't dwell on that. You're just happy here with
her now. Chris Rock has a whole bit on it.
You're just happy you're with her now. But when it's
someone that close to you, it is different because you're
(18:19):
gonna have the Lumberg moment when you're picturing that dude
and you're thinking him that guy, ah, and it's gonna
bother you. So I really think you only go there
Rich if you if it's just one of these people
that you've longed for for an eternity, like it's destiny.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
I have to like out of everyone, everyone has exes.
You just hope they're not like your boy, you know,
like exactly, yeah, cause again, your boy's always gonna have that.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Well.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
I hey, I'm happy for you, guys. I remember when
I was there. That's weak, man. You don't want to
ever hear that from your boy. You don't want to
ever think that he's thinking that. Hopefully your boy would
never say something stupid like that, but you never want
to think that your boy is thinking that has something
on you, has been there before, or any of that stuff.
(19:11):
And what if it's someone you're not communicating with anymore.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
Like what if it was like, oh, she hooked up
with college buddy, but you haven't talked to your college
buddy in a decade.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
I think that doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
Then it doesn't matter as much as it matters how
close you were to that person. But you brought up
a really crazy situation. You painted a really detailed picture.
Think of your college days. You have your extended bunk bed,
whatever it was that extended twin bed you had with
(19:41):
your stupid posters up, and you would probably position your
desks to make some sort of divide her in the room.
That was the privacy, right, Yeah, the privacy you had.
But your roommate would bring somebody back and you'd hear
a little you'd hear a little something every once in
a while, so you studio audience.
Speaker 6 (20:02):
Yeah, yeah, you'd hear applause, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
And you're wondering what your roommates listening to? Is that
live uh Live Nirvana.
Speaker 5 (20:12):
And plug and and she must have been watching a
horror movie because she was screaming a little bit.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Yeah, you're like, I wonder what's going on? I wonder
what's going on the other side of this privacy desk.
Are they praying? That's weird? Why are they saying? God,
I don't know what's going on? I don't know. But
you have to imagine when you put yourself in those situations.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
She must have dropped something up to the bench. She
just got down.
Speaker 2 (20:33):
Anyway, hold on, have we all buy by raise of hands?
Have we all been there? Yes? I've been there, been there.
You're hearing things and you're pretending to sleep, right, pretending
to sleep, and you're hearing everything you mean to tell
me that Zach Wilson when he was with Abby, You
(20:55):
mean to tell me that Dax didn't hear any action
back in the college days. I find it hard to believe.
So I'm led to believe based on everything we just
figured out together. Dax Milne of the Commanders and the
wish him the best. He's a handsome guy. I wish
him a great career. He went all in because he
forever longed for Abby and truly truly destined and loved
(21:18):
her in every way possible.
Speaker 4 (21:20):
You know.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
So, it's a great story of love. I think it
is a great story of love because you have to
look at it, you have to overlook a lot. I
think it's generational. We always talk about how the younger
generation is so cavalier. They're so cavalier. They're like Donovan Mitchell.
There's so cavalier about everything. Social relief, Yeah, socially related,
(21:42):
that's true. Y still exists, man, you still have these
human qualities, especially at a young age.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
You know, so, and you know what the common denominate name.
You know, they're all very good looking and they're all
very successful. So that solves everything that gives us the
liberty to talk about it. They're all doing fantastic and
they all look tremendous, so who cares. Yeah, they're both,
by the way, two beautiful women. Good for Zach Wilson,
good for both of them, good for all of them. Hey,
(22:10):
you know what and the end, Hey, it's Covino rich
In for Colin Cowherd on The Herd. Now someone celebrates
a birthday, Kavino. I don't want to be birthday guy,
but this is someone very special to all of us,
a guy that you can't really have a conversation about movies,
you can't have a conversation about your childhood without bringing.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Up Tom Hanks. He's a legend.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
I know you're a bigger fan of Chet Hanks.
Speaker 2 (22:36):
That's the son, the son of a legend.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
I know.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
There's some music birthdays today. Hard to believe.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
Courtney Love is sixty, Jack White's almost fifty, but Tom
Hanks today turned sixty eight. Rich on this show, see
it R have a theory and I want to test
it out, and we'll do this next.
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays
and noon Easter not a Empacific on Fox Sports Radio

(23:45):
numbers eight one eight eight one seven seven five zero nine.
Now we have Rich loves this theory. By the way,
it's one of Rich's favorite theories. It's a Tom Hanks theory,
meaning on his birthday we celebrate a legend. No per
It's like all snowflakes. There's no two Alank snowflakes other things. Yeah, No,
(24:08):
two people have the same top four Tom Hanks movies
because he has so many good ones. And we're gonna
prove the theory in just moments.
Speaker 5 (24:20):
Yes, The fun of it is that Tom Hanks has
a comedy category. He has serious movies, Award winning movies,
eighties Tom Hanks, two thousands, Tom Hanks, nineties Tom Hanks.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
It's impossible.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
So we'll go to your Mount Rushmoores of Tom Hanks
movie as we celebrate his birthday. And Cavino, I will
say that you mentioned those two shows, Receiver and Hard Knocks.
It's so ridiculous how it's July and I know by
watching that I'm gonna be so in football mode by
tomorrow and the next day. It's unbelievable that we get
(24:55):
so into it and we're not even at the All
Star break for baseball yet, but football just dominates exactly now.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
I also want to thank Ryan Music from the Herd
but filling in right now for the herd Line News.
It's our very own smoothest voice and radio Danny g Kid,
No no tarn on the news. This is the Herd
Line News.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
All right, fellers, we've been talking about how football is
right around the corner. We're all NFL huge NFL fans
on the Confino and Rich Show Receiver tomorrow, Hard Knocks
episode two Today in a preview for tonight's episode of
Hard Knocks pre offseason. While at the combine, head coach
Bill Brian Dable guaranteed that he could run a forty.
(25:43):
Brian says, I could run a forty in seven seconds, guaranteed. Now,
Tom Brady famously ran his in five point two eight seconds.
He did recently beat that time at forty six years old.
At forty six, clocking in at five point one eight
slowest time of all two thousand and four reaches Crawford,
of course, a big ugly guard. He officially came in
(26:03):
at six point oh five. What do you think you
guys could run it in Rich eisenstyle.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Under seven seven forty? That's pathetic, that's ridiculous. Oh, Rich
would have me buy a full stride last we raised
we you know, that's the fun part of going to
these NFL experiences in Super Bowl weeks where they have
all these setups. They time you for stuff like this.
So Rich and I recently did something like this. Rich
(26:30):
had me buy a stride. I give him the height advantage.
That's what that was. But Rich, what do you think?
And then I'll play it based on your thought? You know,
I think I could get in the fives, high fives.
I'm not fast, but I'm not slow. I'm not some
lumbering line or some old guy. I play sports, I go.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
To the gym. I'm active enough. I think I would
actually impress you. I think i'd whoop the ass of
Brian Dable and any big old.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Line without a doubt. You're whooping the ass a Dable
and most who's the I'm in that had a six '
five or whatever. See his name was Crawford. Yeah, no,
I'm beating all that for sure. No, Rich Eisen here,
I got you.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Guys say that, but then when you actually get out
there to do it, you pull a hand.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
Yo ten seconds for me ten seconds second, Rich, What
are you saying? Like five two, maybe a five Brady?
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Let's see Brady at first did a five point two
five two eight at forty six, he ran it again
out of five one eight.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
I'll go five six, elt Lawrence tail at fifty.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
In that it would make me about five to seven.
I would say, okay, like your height, No, not not
like my height. And you know, for perspective, for perspective,
we're in our forties. So I'm not dissing on Rich
Eisen by any means, but no way are we that slow?
But a seven is pathetic? All right.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Earlier we heard from Dak Prescott on the show. He
was saying that that walking boot is no big deal. Also,
while addressing the media, he was asked about his contract
status and go into the final year of the deal.
Here's what he said, quote, There's been conversations back and forth.
This is via the Athletic dot Com. But for the
most part, for me, as y'all know, I've been letting
(28:10):
my agent do that. The money and all that will
take care of itself as it always has.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
I mean, he's right about that. I don't think he
should be involved. That boot's not helping the optics here.
That boot is not doing any favors for anybody. What's
that a boot?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
What do you guys think about this rumor that's been
out there the past couple of weeks. If Gardner Minshew
is not the guy the guy in Vegas, what about
the Raiders spending some big money to get Dak Prescott
in Vegas.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
I've seen you know, I've seen people on FS one, ESPN,
you know, your deep down analysts saying that Dak is
hands down the best quarterback in the NFC East. People
want to compare him to Jalen Hurts and other guys
cut from the same cloth, and they're saying, Yo, we
underestimate Dak and he has the cowboy effect where you
want to make fun of him. Jerry Jones, He's like,
(29:00):
maybe in a different surrounding, Dak would take it to
the next level.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
I don't think it's a terrible idea.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
All right, guys.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
And finally, before we get to Rich's Tom Hanks theory
story about Leonard Fournette, don't call it a comeback, he says,
of course, he's a Super Bowl champ. He says he
wants to come back. He's looking forward to the NFL again.
He's looking for work. This is from Adam Schefter. Free
agent running back Leonard Fournette is motivated to continue his
NFL journey. He intends to sign with a team before
(29:28):
the season starts. He says, he's in the best shape
of his career and I expect to have a new home.
You guys, do you know his last team. I'm looking
at his age right now. Yeah, well probably, I'm sure
you remember him as a Jag. You know him as
a Buck twenty twenty three he was on the Bills roster.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah I just saw that, and yeah Buccaneers the year before.
How old is he now? Is it not coming up? Look?
You could be in shape. Are you game ready? You
know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (29:59):
Is he all those years Terrell Owens looked like he
was ready for any game, and you know no one
wanted to take a chance. Listen, the running back position
is so deep where Danny g how many times do
you look up your own team? He like, Hey, the
forty nine Ers or Raiders have like a fifth back
they signed for the practice squad or something like. The
running back position is so deep and diverse now that
I mean, maybe that means Leonard Fournette has a place somewhere,
(30:21):
but it also could mean, you know, you really going
to compete Hi against like fresh twenty two year old legs.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Yeah he's twenty nine, by the way.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Isn't that crazy? Not even I feel like thirty nine?
I thought, he again again a name we've heard for
a long time. I think he was much older too,
So he's a young man in life, just an older
man on the field. Man twenty nine, He still could
bounce back, But I still stick by what I said,
he may be in the greatest shape ever. Does he
(30:49):
have that that rust? Is he game ready?
Speaker 6 (30:52):
By the way, his forty was a four point five
to one. Yeah, you know, yeah, think of Commido.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
How many times? How many times you hear about a
player that's like, oh, they're gonna make a comeback, you're right,
game ready versus I look, ripped is different.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
And I mean.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Today he's the best he's ever been, you know, exactly. Yeah,
So that's what we don't know until we see it
on the field, all right. I wish yeah, heck yeah, man.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
It's nice to see NFL players still have something left
in the tank. And he's definitely a good guy in
the locker room. So we wish him the best. And
that is your herd Line news.
Speaker 2 (31:27):
All right, Well, that's the news and the herd Line News.
That's Danny g Our, super producer of the Cavino and
Rich Show. Monday through Friday two to four on the West.
That's our regular time five to seven on the East,
and again our bonus podcast over promised on Fox Sports
(31:48):
Radios YouTube page if you want to see what you
hear on the radio. Now, it's Tom Hanks's birthday, so
more reason to celebrate on this Taco Tuesday six. By
the way, sixty eight.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
I don't got it.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
What was the first Tom Hanks experience you had?
Speaker 5 (32:07):
Rich Oh, that's a that's a great question, Cavino, because
my dad when I was a little.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Boy, cover eyes, Richie, cove of y eyes.
Speaker 5 (32:17):
My dad would make me leave the room during certain
scenes of Bachelor Party. And my dad, Greg, who listens
all the time, what's dad? He loved Splash. I was
just gonna say what came out first. I'm not sure
of that one. I'm looking it up, but I remember
my dad being like, oh, Splash, Like, what is it?
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Who is that?
Speaker 4 (32:38):
What's the name Hannah? Darrol Hannah?
Speaker 5 (32:41):
Right?
Speaker 2 (32:42):
Oh yeah, Darrel Hannah, which, by the way, you want
to hear a random fun fact about that Daryl Hannah's
character in the movie is Madison because they ask her
her name and she does some weird like mermaid sound. Remember,
So she looks at the sign Madison Avenue, New York
and she says Madison. According to science I'm sorry, According
(33:06):
to pop culture history, the name Madison didn't exist until
after that movie. Really as a first name, Like no
one was naming their kid Madison until Daryl Hannah did
it and Splash interesting this like, Hey, I'm like Paul
you walnuts, Hey, but what do I know? By the way, Hey,
it's just what I heard. Oh.
Speaker 6 (33:25):
Splash came out in March of eighty four. Bachelor Party
came out end of June eighty four. Okay, so same year,
just a couple months ago.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Yeah, in my opinion, as a as a little pumpkin
pie haircuted kid of the eighties who looked like Tattoo
from Fantasy Island. Tom Hanks came out swinging in eighty four. Man,
that was a year Tom Hanks. Everybody now family fell
in love with him, correctly if I'm wrong. Big Then
came out like a year or two later, eighty eight,
(33:54):
Big Kid. Yeah, years later, that was a big movie.
Bunny Pit was eighty six. Yeah. And of course, if
we're going to talk Tom Hanks, we've got to acknowledge
Bosom Buddies and his TV stuff. He was also on
Happy Days and ironically he's the only guy that our
good pal Henry Winkler dislikes. They had some beef back
in the day, which is so odd because they seem
(34:15):
like two of the greatest guys I know. So I
don't like Tom Hanks.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Answer the question we pose and at covin On Riches,
we could hit us up Instagram, Twitter, TikTok you name
it at coven On rich In for the herd and
for Colin to prove our points because he's such a mammoth,
because Tom Hanks is the man.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
If you had to make.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
Your Milt Rushmore, your four Tom Hanks movies, what would
they be? Because I'll give you my four, and I
can promise you they're a different four than yours.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
That's just how it is.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
Yeah, but there's millions of people listening. So if one
shares in your top four, are you guys like soulmates
or something?
Speaker 4 (34:56):
Yeah, you gotta make love to that.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Okay? Because rich said no tour the same. This is
the Rich Davis Tom Hanks theory.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Top four.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Go ahead, my Mount Rushmore of Hanks Forrest Gump. Oh, okay,
I imagine that's on a lot of.
Speaker 5 (35:14):
People's Sleepless in Seattle. Oh, Apollo thirteen, Wow, and Bachelor
Party it's the worst.
Speaker 6 (35:23):
Well, that's the worst of all of his body of work.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
You choose Bachelor Party.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
I wanted to make it a little diverse, little comedy
in there.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Thanks for sharing. Okay, so let's make it clear. Rich's
top four Gump Sleepless in Seattle, which I've never seen,
by the way, Oh what, yeah, I was. I always
disliked Jay Buner, so I never watched that movie. Not
a fan of Seattle. Yeah, Edgar Martinez is he bothered me?
I never liked that guy. Apollo thirteen and Bachelor Party.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
No.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Two people have the same top four as we celebrate
an honor, a legend and who did a few sports
movies too, Tom Hanks, we give you our top four
and yours if you want to share. Next Cavino and Rich,
and for Colin on The Herd, be sure to catch
live editions of The Herd weekdays and noon Eastern not
a em Pacific.
Speaker 8 (36:16):
Pally fools go ahead with Tony Fosco. Yeah, as everybody knows,
we're the hosts of the award winning Polly and Toni
Foosco show.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (36:22):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.
Speaker 5 (36:28):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.
Speaker 4 (36:32):
What what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Were interrupting our promo? Yeah, it wasn't talking about you.
You took those clips totally of context.
Speaker 8 (36:39):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.
Speaker 4 (36:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (36:46):
Anyway, just listening to the Paully and Tony Fosco Show

Speaker 2 (36:54):
I saved my brand new Yankees hat for this special day. Rich.
Look at his bad boy. Check it out. It's not
even has a bad boy. Look at it, boy. You
see if it's camo, but it's that digital. What do
you call that? Like that digital camo gray and blackd
I call it digital? Look at that? Oh yeah? For
(37:15):
All Star Week, Covino and Rich the All Stars of
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
Danny Danny said, atari let me hit you up with
a you know, guess you'd love to make fun of
me because I'm always.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
Up on all this day.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Donkey Kong made his debut on this day.
Speaker 2 (37:32):
So look at that. The throwback to the eighties Donkey Khan,
great game. You know what it means? Fun fact boy, No,
it means stubborn mule. Oh that's what. And they're like
it doesn't make sense because and then they ran with
it anyway in Japan They're like, no, yeah, we're gonna
(37:54):
run with it anyway. It's a whole story. So anyway,
thank you guys for hanging out with us Covino and
Rich and for Colin on the Herd. And if you
just joined us, please check the podcast search Covino and Rich.
Wherever you stream your podcast, tell your friends about it.
Join us Monday through Friday at a regular time two
to four on the West. But we did talk about
Cooper Flag. Who's cooler than that guy today?
Speaker 1 (38:17):
Right?
Speaker 2 (38:17):
Not too many people. Zach Wilson and all the drama
and his love life. We talked about that. And now
we're focusing on Tom Hanks cause this is his birthday and
Rich loves Tom Hanks. Rich has a theory.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
Who does it?
Speaker 5 (38:32):
My theory is, you know, people love to make their
Mount Rushmore as of NBA players, what's your Mount Rushmore
of NFL quarterback? You know, Brady Montana Manning and who's
the fourth? People love Mount Rushmore? So I said, there's
no two people a planet Earth that are gonna have
the same top four Mount Rushmore of Tom Hanks movies
(38:54):
I threw mine out there, Farrest Gump, Sleepless in Seattle,
Apollo thirteen, Batch Party. I'm reading the feedback already and
no one's matched. So if you want to take it away,
they don't go the feedback. It's wild how there are not.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
There. They're not gonna match anyone else.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
You know, one else is wild about this. As you grow,
your opinions change. For example, I didn't even like Forrest
Gump when it came out. When did it come out
ninety four? Yeah, that was all about shaw Shank and
pulp fiction. I'm like, far As Gump, get out of
here with this corny story. Now as a wiser man,
I watched that in delight. I'm like, you know, what
a delightful movie this is. I enjoy it. So I
(39:34):
think based on your theory, my theory is I don't
think your list is ever the same. I bet you
the last time we talked about this it was a
different four. That's my theory. I think it might have
been because I was trying to think, well, what are
I top four? And I'm going this time. Big is
by far his best movie in my opinion. Big is
(39:54):
Got Heart. It's great, It's big I don't get it.
I don't get it. I love that.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
Yeah, that scene in the toy store where he's on
the piano.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Ah and he invented transformers and everything. That was awesome,
big and I got it. Bachelor Party because that was
my introduction to Tom Hanks. I think it's one of
his I love Tom Hanks, Funny, Tom Hanks, young, funny,
Tom Hanks, eighties funny Tom Hanks is great. So bachelor
Party and it had that sexy element. He was with
his bros. I remember he was with all his bro
(40:23):
Adrian Zamed. I love Donkey, Yeah, the donkey, the whole
scene with the donkey and everything and Tony Kataine. So
bachelor Party for me, I love that. Castaway. I'm throwing
in there great movie because I'm thinking about, like, what
would I actually sit down and watch if I saw
it on TV cast Away, I would sit there and
(40:43):
watch right now. So I don't know if I'd feel
the same way tomorrow. But Castaway right now, I'm feeling
it and I already said it. Gump was not in
my top four. Now it is great. I saw it recently.
Rich and even though he was the worst villain in
all of film, history. It's a great movie. And I
(41:04):
do want to throw this out there since we're talking
about it. He has a new movie with Robin Wright
Penn coming out in November November fifteenth, is called Here.
It looks amazing. Yeah, and if you're a Tom Hanks fan,
you might shed one just watching the trailer. All Right,
we're going to Ryan Music for his top four.
Speaker 9 (41:22):
You know, it's really hard to come with the top
four Tom Hanks movies, but I think this is These
are the ones that I have to go with. Bachelor Party, Great, Yeah,
Sleepless in Seattle.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
Oh, I've never seen it.
Speaker 9 (41:36):
Stop it, Apollo thirteen, and I Man, it's really hard
to get it down to four, but I am gonna
have to go with Forrest Gump.
Speaker 4 (41:44):
No, he matched my forward destined.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
It's ever Happened before, which means Rich your theory is
totally bunk. Why did we even do this segment? Oh?
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Man?
Speaker 2 (41:56):
So it is possible to get the same of all
the movies, but how many movie? About one hundred and
fifty of one hundred and fifty movies, you can't choose
the same for if you cant all the ones. He
he produced, My Big Fat Greek wedding.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
And everything here.
Speaker 5 (42:10):
Yeah, not even we haven't even considered the voice of
Woody and toy story polar Express.
Speaker 4 (42:16):
I mean, there's a million man me and Ryan music
cut from the same.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
Either either you're cut from the seeing cloth and you're
destined to be soulmates in another lifetime, or the theory
is not that awesome. You could play along and figure
it out at home.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
But come on, you.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Have honorable mentions that thing you do? You know, I
like that movie a lot. You know it doesn't get
enough credit because he has so many classes and.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Then a dark one Road to Perdition.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
And how about it's one of my favorite. Yeah, I'm
surprised nobody said that one. You know what we want
your answers? Do you share in music and riches? Top four?
Do you have your own? Let's test. We'll meet for
a coffee later. I can wait. I cannot wait. All right,
So thank you guys for hanging out with us. We
(43:04):
appreciate it, and join us at our regular time tomorrow
Covino and Rich and for Collin on the Herd
