(00:22):
Let's do this, man, Well, before we get to whatever
you're thinking about, I gotta give everyone the Golden rule.
We were saying, Okay, what's the golden rule? Not the
Golden at bat. We talked about that yesterday. By the way, dude,
I got a gold diab. You ever feel like someone
just swayed to you the wrong way, I swayed to
you the wrong way. My first instinct yesterday was the
Golden at bat is stupid.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
That was my first instinct. It really was stupid, dumb.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Get out of here, you said, I like this saved
by the beltcast going down the stairs with that drug ad.
Stupid dump dumb stinks I'm doing. That's actually pee wee herm.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Remember's like stupid nope, uh uh.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
And then Rich came in here, honestly and like, I
feel like I was hit over the head and he's like, no, dude,
it'll be great.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
And he built up this whole story.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
He did a great job, sold me on the possibility
of the Golden at Bat in MLB.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
I should be a politician.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
And then I'm reading all the feedback that we got
and everyone's like, guys.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You serious.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
It's the dumbest idea ever, worst idea ever. And then
I'm like, how did I let Rich sway me on this?
And then I saw the headline. Did you see the
headline from a New York Post today? Rich Davis from
Fox Sports Radios and dummy, no, no, no, It says
MLB's Golden at Bat is utterly the most moronic disgrace
of an idea ever. And I'm like, you know, how
did I had? I let Rich like sway me here?

(01:43):
And you did such a great job.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Thank you? When is he never led you somewhere? Lame
that thank you? Spot you?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
No, It's like he had Remember in the show True
Blood way back on a Wednesday. Remember True Blood, vampires
had a way of glamouring you into believing whatever they
were saying. Like Rich had me under a spell yesterday.
I was like, yeah, golden rule, the Golden mat Bet.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, the Golden at Bat. He's right. I convinced. And
then I got home and I'm like, what was I
talking about?

Speaker 1 (02:07):
That? As dumb as hell? I convinced the handful of
people was great. I convinced millions.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I'm a dope. I went to softball last night, had
a game last night.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Guys on my team were like, y'all, dude, I heard
you on Fox Sports today. You're trolling everyone, right. I'm like, no,
I believe in the Golden and I did. You had
me convinced yesterday, and then I thought about it more.
I'm like, no, what was I thinking? I was drunk.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
I think I do want to say that the Doug
Gottlieb Show they're against your They really took you guys
to the cleaners. Oh really, and you've Rich and Steve.
You even made it to what does the Fox say?
Which we do on the Bonus Pot. The Golden The
Golden at Bat made, yeah, made its way into the
Doug gotlie I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Saturated Rich really made it sound fun. It's like a
guy that sells you on the weeks. It's like the
Fire Festival, Dude, It's gonna be great. Trust me and
you buy out. Yeah, you buy into it and you're
like this sucks. Rich sold me that yesterday so hard,
and he made it sound fun and I'm not completely
against it, Rich, but the more I thought about it, I'm.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Like, that's stupid.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Well, now we got to listen to the Gottlieb Bonus
pod for them to just roast me. By the way,
speaking of golden tickets, I saw a Doug on Instagram.
Does he got the golden whistle? I saw him doing
some like they got. He got like great b roll
of him coaching, but I feel like a practice, I
was like, does he have a golden whistle?

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I've not seen the golden whistle?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, so not the golden whistle, not the golden at bat,
the golden rule. Around this time of year when your
holiday parties underway, because this week is our Fox Sports
Radio Company holiday party, Christmas party, whatever you want to
call it.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
You could drink.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, you might say some questionable things. You may flirt
it up with the wrong person everyone's gonna be talking
about it.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
May go dip away and get high. Yeah, you just
can't be the worst. Yea.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
And I remember there was a company party at serious
XM years ago. Yeah, company parties. They used to go
all out. Now before things like budget cuts and stuff
like that. Yeah, back in the day, we used to
have wherever you worked, you had big parties. You could
bring your wife or husband. You all you can eat,
all you could drink at nice places.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Now a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
If you wanted to flirt with the hobby at the office,
you can't bring your wife, dude. I mean, speaking of which,
think of love. Actually the movie you hate, the movie
I love. The whole point is that they had some
elaborate Christmas party. That's how the world was. Office Christmas party,
a great Christmas, and it turned into party in the lobby.
And now we're actually having a good one this year.
I'm excited about it at a nearby restaurant. But what's

(04:35):
the rule? Tell everybody the rule? Rich, Yeah, if your company,
I guess it's optics too, right. You can't do budget
cuts and then go all out for a Christmas party.
You have to be like, hey, we're gonna have the
company party in the lobby. We've got some garbage cans
full of Miller lights. Like, that's it, some jungle juice.
That's some company parties that I would say. The rule
is you can't be the worst, right, But you also
have to have a real friend that's not in competition

(04:56):
with you, to tell you and remind you when to
say when, and to keep you off the dance floor,
and to stop you from doing the worm, to stop
you from tying the tie around your head, to stop
you from throwing up on yourself, flirting with the hobby
in front of everybody, like you need someone, You need
someone to have your back a little bit. Don't cross

(05:17):
the line with the hawk girl at work.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah, that's always a thing. Don't take this as a chance.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Oh, don't take weird pictures that are going to end
up on the you know, on the company website the
next Monday.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Don't do that. Don't ask your bosses for a raise,
don't even bring up business. I don't think I was
just about.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
To say that, but rich nobody ever abides by that, though,
because what happens. Oh, you're the one that sends us
those commercials for the podcast, and then you start talking
a little bit of work.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah you know what, I think.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
You know, you have that commonality, right, that's your common ground,
so it's bound to come up.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
But you don't want it to be just about that
stare away from it. Yeah, you're not.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
When we say you're not talking business, you're not talking
like company raises, your advance numbers, things like.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
The stocks at We should be getting raises now. So
you're saying I shouldn't.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
You're saying, by the end of tomorrow's Christmas party, I
shouldn't try to get us on eight new affiliates. Okay,
I'll back off. I would say, dress appropriately, right, that's obvious.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I don't have your drunk hanging out what. But you
know where we.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Learned this role seriously when we were at Sirius XM,
and we still are. We do music at Sirius XM. Right,
Cavino and Rich separately. He does pop stuff. I do
rock stuff. Early on in the early two thousands, we
had a colleague that just made such an ass of himself. Dude,
he was, you know, throwing up. I'm thinking of two
different guys out there's there's two different series. Because there
were times where I would have a bunch of drinks.

(06:40):
I'd be like party animal guy, and cav you know,
would say you're lucky. I'm like Wally my wookie. He
goes while you were a little out of control. You
paled in comparison to Blank. One year, one of the
older employees got very like old school machismo with some
of the female employees. I'm like, Yo, this guy's gonna
get fired. That guy made me look tame, right. And

(07:04):
then this year the drunk guy. Some employee got so
drunk he passed out. People were taking pictures with him
like he was weekend at Bernie. Yes, it's like the
ass on his head and stuff. That's like Todd Packer
in the office. So he's covered to silly string. Not
the look you want with your colleagues. It's fun to unwind.
It's fun to have fun. But that's your holiday party

(07:25):
reminder from your boys. Who got your back? Covino, Rich,
Danny j. Spondy, Sam Buyer. All right, Fox Sports Radio's
got your back. So before we go into brock party
and your Spotify unwrapped Ia, Sam, I believe you told
me we have great audio from Michael Kay who you
love Yankees. My dad listens to Michael Ka in New York.

(07:48):
It's the only other radio show he listened to besides.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
You to the track to the Wall Looking Up See Yeah,
And he's roasting here.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Your guy with the Mets who does a show, helped
me out here, Evan Roberts.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
No different guy, Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Harry Cohen, No, he's hold on salacata sal just keep
guessing names Ziel He says it in the in the Okay,
let's tell you listen.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Is it perfect? No?

Speaker 5 (08:12):
Would I sign off on it? Probably wouldn't. But imagine
the outcry because a guy is trying to do something
to juice a game that needs to be juiced. And
all the people that say this is like sacrilege. Guess
what we got you. It's the young players. The young people.
We don't have them. So we have to turn the
ninth inn into an event where your best player is

(08:33):
going up against the closure. And you see no value
in that because nothing can change in baseball, because it's
not a sport, it's a religion. You all have to
get your heads out of your butts to jump a
guy for trying to make a legitimate change or thinking
about a legitimate change, even a guy I love, Howie Rose,
This has got to be a joke. No, the loss

(08:54):
of baseball, eyeballs, that's a joke, Howie. There's got to
be something that stops it. It's got to be something
that stops the erosion of this great game. You got
to make it appeal to more people, younger people. Those
are the people we do not have. And you're gonna
crucify Rob Manford because he's thinking outside the box.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
You all have to grow up and you all have
to open your eyes.

Speaker 6 (09:12):
So see what's happening with the game.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Wait, so maybe we weren't there far off?

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Now your boy, Michael kay, now now you're back.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I'm back in. I'm back in. You know what, Rich
really sold it.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
And I'm telling you, even like my high school friends,
everybody that caught winto this hit me up like, Yo,
this is the dumbest idea ever.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
This is ridiculous, This is stupid, And I was like,
how could we be so wrong? It sounds like fun?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Okay, Michael ka brought me back a little bit the
Golden at Bat. If we're on the track of dumb ideas,
we moved past the Golden at Bat.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
We spent a lot of time and a lot of
fun on that. Yesterday.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
I think it goose our most fun show in quite
a while. Let's move to another idea that Summer saying
is dumb and others are saying, Yo, this is the
way forward, and not just because they're my team, because
it's a the San Francisco forty nine Ers. If you're
John Lynch, you're Kyle Shanahan. And by the way, I

(10:09):
looked at the schedule ahead. If the Niners win for
their last five, which I don't think will happen, the
teams in that division still play tough teams. I wouldn't
be shocked if you want to take like a wild
futures bet forty nine Ers make the postseason if you
could get a great value on because yeah, they played
the Lions. Outside of that, they could win the other

(10:30):
four games. It's like the Bears, Rams, Dolphins. So it's
not crazy where the Cardinals and Seahawks have to play
Minnesota Green Bay like this. There's tough games there and
they have to play each other. The forty nine ers
likely though I'm guessing nine to eight, eight and nine
missed the postseason. Now there's two trains of thought. You

(10:54):
pay brock Purty. He's proven that with the talent or without,
he is clearly an above average NFL quarterback. Yeah, I
mean you got to give him prompts that even during
this season where they're playing terrible and dealing with a
lot of injuries, a multitude of it, he has avoided.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Really all criticism. No one has won.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I've never heard anyone say he's the issue, or he's
the problem, or he's the reason. If anything, he's keeping
it together and he's rising above the fact that that
team's injured. So he's proven himself more this year than
I'd say in previous years.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
One could argue.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
That, I mean, he's had some dead games, but no
one's not the reason. No one's saying the Niners, it's
all brock Perty's fault. Huba's stank not singing about him.
So the reason is not him.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
The reasons not him. But here's the question. When you
do have aging stars, stars, stars and stars, McCaffrey not
getting Deebo, Samuel Trent Williams is still the best, but
that clock is ticking. The forty nine ers are a

(12:07):
bunch of aging future Hall of famers. They have I
think they have gas left in the tank, but they
can't take a road trip, is what I'm saying. There's
there's gas left in the tank, but they're not driving
a vegas They they gotta stop in like Bakersfield.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
They're gonna stop in Uh was it Primada? They're gonna
stop by Whiskey peepe. They can't make it all the way.
They're gonna go to Buffalo Bills. First, My point is
the Niner stell guess in the tank went healthy. But
do you worry about making your team deeper without Rock Purty?

(12:45):
Or do you say no, no, make this team deeper.
Don't give Purty fifty million dollars a year, maybe more,
draft a quarterback. See what the free agent market looks
like for some of these, some of these, you know, journeyman,
the forty nine ers are still in that. I think

(13:06):
they're still in that little window where with some adjustments,
they could win. You said it about the Eagles. We
thought the Eagles were done. We thought Buffalo was done?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Right?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
How many people I saw rich Ison the other day,
He's like, listen, I apologize. I thought it was the
Dolphins and Jets, and I rode off Buffalo thinking McDermott
and Josh Allen that was done. They may win the
Super Bowl. Forty nine ers have the ability to turn
this around. I truly believe that even without my forty
nine or fan goggles on.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
So next year better off with or without Purse?

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Do you go forward and say we're gonna make this
team deep, but go with a lesser QB because I
believe in Shanahan's system. Or do you say, hey, listen, Brock,
Parties earned it. And then there's option three, which is
I think a little cold.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Bludded, cold blooded.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
You could make Party play for one point nine million
and give him that one year tech would would that
be dirty?

Speaker 4 (13:55):
If the NFL twenty twenty five draft was held right now,
the Niners would be picking fourteenth.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
Yeah, you want to take that chance. This goes back
to is it the system or is it Tom Brady?

Speaker 6 (14:11):
Right?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Is it the coaching of Bill belichickers with Tom Brady
years later, Tom really solidified the answer to that. Ques, Well,
you know what you know? I think, but I've heard
I think it's I think it's the combination of both.
Not just think Party's proven that he is better than
people gave him credit, no dignity, no doubt. But I
think what we did learn also is that the minute

(14:33):
some I'll be honest, like football moron, the minute some
you know, person with very little insight says you know
there's a move on from Kyle Shanahan. I agree with
not only our show, but multitude of high level people
that said, if Kyle Shanahan was let go, eighty percent

(14:55):
of the league would fire their current coach to get
Kyle Shanahan. You don't get rid of Kyle Shanahan on
a down injured year. So Shanahan, John Lynch, that's a combo.
You want to keep around for a decade and build
around and see if you could revamp the way the
Golden State Warriors, the way the Patriots, the way franchises.
The only difference is the Niners haven't finished the job. Well,
let me answer you the question before we move on.

(15:17):
Based on the fact that you'd get the fourteenth pick,
I'd say you stick with Party. I say you even
tag him, you stick with Purdy, give give them the
bunk deal and be like, yeah, you're sticking around for
like two mil. Yeah, Rep Party continue with a healthy
forty nine ers team. He sort of earned it as well.
He's still young. That's the other plus side of a
rock Party. He's young, doesn't have a lot of wear

(15:39):
and tear, he's healthy. He'll have his team back. They'll
be healthy. I don't think you take that fourteenth round chance.
If you got your health fourteenth pick chance, I'm sorry.
When you have all your high profile players coming back
ready to go next year, No way, that's.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Too much of a risk. What would you do is
the question.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
I think brock party was just, I don't say an anomaly,
but he really sees that moment of gaining the respect
of a lot of veteran players because he proved himself
and he played well. To think that another young player
is going to step in and be able to do
the same thing, that's really asking a lot of a
young player with a lot of veteran superstars. Let me

(16:24):
throw a name it you like Brock, That's what made
rock Purty specials. He immediately won everybody over and he
played well. Not everybody he's gonna be able to do that.
Let me let me throw a name at you, and
you could say, well, been there, done that, but not really.
What if I said Sam Donald? Sam Donald was the
backup last year in San Francisco. Shanahan loves him, he

(16:46):
knows the system. Minnesota clearly is going to move forward
with JJ McCarthy at some point, and we've talked about
it the other day, like Minnesota really want to pay
Sam Donald when they know the future is somewhere else.
But now you're changing question but no, but yeah, what
I'm saying, would you rather pay a Donald or pay
a Party?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
But I think Donald comes cheaper than pretty really, do you?
I think?

Speaker 1 (17:07):
So? I think they're like even, yeah, I mean, what
do I know? But that's that's what I would. You
know what, let's let's think that.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Could be better off leaving your guy in place with
a system that he's already perfected.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I agree, yeah, I think you keep Party in that situation.
You know, a lot of people talk it better than
him now, a lot of people that are seeing the
success of Sam Donald nine and two in Minnesota right now,
you know what they're saying, had he took over for
the Niners last year, he could he would have done
exactly what Perty did. So your thoughts what did the
forty nine ers do with the quarterback position? Assuming they
don't make the postseason, they don't somehow luck out sneak

(17:41):
in and maybe win a wildcard game. If the forty
nine ers are out nine and eight, eight and nine, well,
is there some buzz that that brock Perty you think
is cramping the forty nine ers?

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Is that some of the bus I'm going to talk today.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
I just think the cramp is the money you'd have
to give him. And then you start thinking like, oh,
I'm what the cowboys happen when they've paid Dackle that money?
And you know you see teams eating up so much
of their with a QB and that's been the Niners advantage.
So your thoughts will get to a next plus, we'll
talk about your Spotify unwrapped. You're always taking a risk.
It's less risk, more reward with Party. You know what

(18:13):
he's gonna bring you, bro You're gonna get someone else.
You're taking a major risk. I'm gonna invest I'm gonna
get a young quarterback who may or may not show up,
or we're gonna get another quarterback and take that risk
when you have the rest of your team coming back healthy,
what would you do as the fan? I want my
cake and to eat it too. I want brock Party

(18:35):
to take like thirty million dollars, but he won't. Like
in my mind, I'm like, Yo, Baker took thirty I
don't think Brock Party's a sixty million dollar quarterback. So
my answer, that's true on behalf of Niners nation, Bang
bang Niners.

Speaker 7 (18:47):
Gay.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
I don't think Brock Party deserves star money. He's a
he's a really good player. But is he a star.
I don't think he's a star. He's gonna star?

Speaker 2 (18:57):
Are you not the biggest? They? How many stars on attars?

Speaker 1 (19:01):
He's not a state. He's a really good player. I
think he deserves really good player money.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Yeah, and rich too for both of you. Do you
think he's a top ten quarterback in the NFL?

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Right now? I'd have to do that little annoying thing
where I pull a great question standing.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
And last month Sports Illustrated came out with an article
they ranked this season's quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
I'll let you guess where they have.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Them I have. I would say middle of the pack somewhere.
That would be my guess.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
Buyer, guess on that for where SI ranked brock Birdy. Oh,
he's showing me. He's showing me ten. He thinks ten
or eleven?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
You know why?

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Because yeah, he is very good, very productive. But is
he like how Cam Newton always viewed himself? Like a
difference made in the simplest way. I'll zip through this.
Can we find ten quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
We want more.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Let's start in the say Josh Allen, yes, Tua, I
don't think so.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Jet's Patriot.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
It's now Pittsburgh, Lamar Jackson, yes, Joe Burrow yes. C J.

Speaker 2 (20:05):
Stroud Yes, Indianapolis.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
I don't know, Ted, I mean no, No, I don't
know Jacksonville No, Kansas City yes, Mahomes justin Herbert, Yes, bow.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Nicks is looking pretty good. Seven.

Speaker 1 (20:20):
I don't know that's that's a close one. Jalen Hurts, Yes,
you know, Jayden Daniels, Yeah, Jared Goff jack ye Goff, Yeah,
Aaron Jordan love Man, Yeah. I think he's I would
say he's probably a twelve or thirteen.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
What do you? What do you got?

Speaker 4 (20:39):
So last month s I ranked him this season as
number six. They say, so those of you who still
believe he's nothing more than a product of Kyle Shanahan's
scheme and playmakers, think again. He's propped up a Niners
team that has been crushed by injuries, and then it
gives his stats, says at the time, there were three
and three. He has an enormous chance to himself.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
I'm just surprised they ranked him so high. But that's
exactly what I said he had more. One could argue
he's shown how good he is this year with all
the injuries, and he has in previous years.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Has he proven himself since that three and three moment, though,
Rich because we're Nick right, and other guys I've seen
lately on TV are arguing saying he's just average and
he's basically a mirror of the stars he has around
him on offense, so if they're missing, then you know
he doesn't step up as a superstar.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
I think you look at Rock Party, and again, I'm
not avoiding the answer. Covino, thanks for calling me out.
I appreciate that because I didn't give my answer. But
my answer is simply, I don't think brock Party is
worth top tier money. I think if he's willing to
take a Baker Mayfield Daniel Jones' contract he took a
couple of years ago. If you told me Rock Purty

(21:48):
four years won sixty allah the Daniel Jones contract a
couple of years ago, Yeah, sign me up.

Speaker 2 (21:54):
But I don't think you give brock Purty sixty million
dollars a year. That's what you give Amar Jack, That's
what you give it.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Josh Allen mahomes a guy that changes bro the guy
that changes the league game Rock Party.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Give him even.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
I'll even say four years, one eighty anything more than that.
I'm drafting a quarterback and said he solid.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Dude, don't hate there? Forty five mil?

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Would you think that's something to laugh at if you
go above forty five for Brock Party, I'm saying, Yo, Brock,
thank you so much. We're going to draft a quarterback
and move along. Who do we got, Danny g Let's
go to your feedback. If you're the Niners and John
kin Jones popped out with his big head, what would
you do?

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Let's start in Reno, Trevor, Hey, Trevor, Hey, what's up?

Speaker 8 (22:44):
Fellas?

Speaker 9 (22:45):
Things think?

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Call so.

Speaker 8 (22:46):
I'm I'm Niners fan. I kind of agree with rich.
I hope that we can get him around that thirty
forty million a year range. But from what it sounds like,
I don't think he's saying he wants to reset the
quarterback mark. At least all the comments that I've heard
haven't kind of really entailed.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Yeah, well, you know what I feel like, yo, Bro,
I feel like you and I are on the same
page with a lot of Niners fans. You want him
to get paid, but I mean the fifty sixty million dollars.
I don't think he's the type that chases the bag either.
He's not the Wan Soto of NFL players.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
You know.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Again, his agents will probably steer him otherwise. But he's
been a young kid, sort of humbled to be in
this opportunity surrounded by superstars from the get go. I
can't imagine him all of a sudden thinking he's at
superstar pay me level.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
In that way. In the list you guys went over,
sounds like he'd be like twelve.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, I would feel like and if you want to
be generous, because I was being a little hard on him,
you know, this guy's like CJ.

Speaker 2 (23:43):
Stroud that you could argue better. But Brock's up there.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
I think Brock is around ten, right, He's a top
would you argue to say he is a If you
broke the quarterbacks into thirds, well, Russell to third, he's
better than Russell Wilson, better than Russell Wilson Russell, I
would not take Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Okay, Danny g who's next? All right, let's go to Texas.
Dwayne Yo, Dwayne what's up man? Hey, Dwayne?

Speaker 10 (24:05):
Hey, guys, Hey, When you mentioned that Sam Darnal could
just walk in and take over brock party spot if
he's still around, I think you're really giving a disservice
to Kevin O'Connell. He's really good at quarterbacks. The example
was the Josh Stapps that type thing, and if they
could get Donald's for the mid level that you're talking about,

(24:25):
thirty forty, I would take down to heartbeat because he
had the season of Kevin O'Connell under his belt.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Yeah, you know Kevin O'Connell. You know, Kyle Shanahan is
you know, top tier coach. But they do say Kevin
O'Connell is like a quarterback whisper, like Caesar Milanas to dogs.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
He is two quarterbacks? Who else? All right? Michael in Iowa, Michael,
what's up? Bro Hey, Mike Ioway?

Speaker 11 (24:48):
Hey, guys Hey, I think I should probably give Rock
perty the Daniel Jones type money, which is like forty
some million dollars, because obviously he's better than Daniel Jones.
But a lot of people from God about Danian Jones
is the fact that he was I'm sorry, Rock Purty
was the guy in Iowa State for three or four
years when he started. There was no better guy. He

(25:09):
was always keeping that team afloat, always keeping the team
within a cosp of a big twelve championship or in
a big total championship, so that you know, a lot
of people forgot about that.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
You could argue that Brock was drafted way lower than
he could have been. There are people that thought Brock
should have been a second or third round pick to
begin with, but that's not how the cookie crumbled. He
was the final mister irrelevant pick, and that comes with
a stigma. It's like if you start in your job
in the mail room, chances are you have to leave
to get respect somewhere else, because very few times does

(25:38):
that guy get the respect he deserves.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
To that Colors point from Iowa, a lot was expected
of Brock perty and breest Hall in their senior year
and they under delivered. They went like seven to five
in regular season. I think that was partially why he dropped,
because they didn't live up to they They beat Oregon
in the festival in the COVID year the year before that.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
So now so it makes him a great story though,
because he proved otherwise. So he'll get paid, it's how
how much is he willing to settle for? And what
is the best move for the forty nine ers? Your
feedback at Covino and Rich and we'll get to the
rest of your phone calls.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
And Spotify Unwrapped.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
Came out today. We're gonna do our little sports version
of that next. But first, dB, Dan.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Dan, what says you? Man?

Speaker 7 (26:18):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (26:19):
If you're John Lynch and you're the Niners front office?
Thirty five forty five fifty five? What is the brock
Party price tag?

Speaker 6 (26:26):
Yeah? I think it starts with a five. To be
perfectly honest with you, yeah, I do. I think that
he is a in a magnificent spot for leverage right now.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
I'm not putting you on the spot, but answer this
the general question. If not the Niners, what heapens chasing
brock Party? Though, Like if the Niners like, yeah, no, thanks,
is there a team out there that's like, sweet, we'll
get brock Party.

Speaker 6 (26:48):
You don't think the Giants would want him right now?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
I don't know. I maybe, yeah, I think they would.

Speaker 6 (26:55):
From what Danny's point is, what seven was that the
number that he had?

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (27:01):
Think about think of the Browns wouldn't you rather have
a quarterback that I mean, yards are there. We've seen
Jamis do what he does, but he's turning it over true.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
So maybe there is a home for rock Saints.

Speaker 6 (27:14):
Yeah, good one too, a lot of different spots.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
Spotify Unwrapped came out today and does everybody know what
that is at this point? It came out in twenty fifteen.
It started in twenty fifteen as a thing, and then
they branded it as Spotify Unwrapped in twenty sixteen. And
it's basically your year in review, and every streaming service
has provided you with some sort of year in review.
You most listened to artists, you most listen to song,

(27:43):
that sort of thing. But it's a really fun experience,
like a little video. You're sitting there all smiles watching
your most listen to music bro in the past year,
and every year you look forward to it and it's
a fun day. And I got mine today. If you
want to put a tingle in my holiday dingle. When
I see people say, oh, here's my Spotify Unwrapped and

(28:03):
their number one podcast, this could be on rich Oh
it's the best goodness post that of us. That might
win your swiggy Danny Ja. If someone Spotify on wrap
shows that wear their number one podcast, you don't think
that might earn a swiggy.

Speaker 6 (28:16):
I like that.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
My top five bands totally proved that I'm an angry,
divorced dad rock kind of guy. You know, Yes, Lincoln
Park's on there. Oh yeah, it is number five, Limp Biscuit.
It's like I'm in a year two thousand or something.
Number four was Sir Sly. He's like an alt rock guy.
Number three Sublime because they were on tour this year
and I had introduced them to my daughter. I was

(28:38):
listening to a lot of Sublime this summer that ye,
sur Sly is like an alt rock guy.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
Number two was Lincoln Park as their new album came out.
I was listening to a lot of Lincoln Parks. Saw
him live. My number one artist this year was a
guy named Des Rocks. And of all people, you know
who I was. How do you say introduced? Introduced to
Des Rock by Dana White.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Dana White used a lot of Des Rocks for the
UFC this year, and he talked about him and he said, Yo,
you got to hear about this dude, Des Rocks. I
looked into him and I really got into him and
he was my number one. And based on that thought,
based on your Spotify Unwrapped or your Amazon Reveal or
whatever streaming service you have, however it works. Who do

(29:23):
you think was the top five athletes this year? And
what were the top five stories that we talked about?
If we did a Spotify Unwrapped sports version, think about it,
because Danny g during our Precio meeting, you did point out, Yeah,
when people do these lists, sometimes they have a short
memory and they forget that it's a long year.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, they're only thinking about the last couple, like last
few moments.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
When you talk about in February and March, and I think,
if you're going to talk about the five stories we've
talked about in the past twelve months, the five stories
are tough. The five athletes I think are simple. It's
the first five that came to mine. Surprisingly, there's a
big name that didn't make the list. I think, I think,

(30:05):
let's go number five. This is for me, Okay, according
to me, this is what I think.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
Number five. I love when we make it like a
rich D's. You know what I changed my answer? How
you can't change a countdown mid countdown.

Speaker 1 (30:23):
Has Spider Harris had ever done that, because I know
what you're gonna say, because if I say Aaron Judging,
because you're a Yankees god.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
And it really wasn't about him this year, even though
he won the MVP.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
So I'm going number five. I was gonna leave him off.
I'm leaving Judge off number five. Lebron James he did
make the list because the whole Bronny.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Story was huge before that, the Olympics.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
And the Olympics, yeah, and the in season tournament everything else.
Like Lebron James still makes the list. I was gonna
leave him off. But you know what, Judge doesn't make
the list. Okay, Can I give you number four ahead?

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Number four went through the worse, had a roast, became
an announcer. We're forgetting. We talked a lot about Tom Brady.
All right. I disagree with that, but I do, really
I do. But I'll keep him on there.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Should you both give your fives and your fours, so
on and so forth?

Speaker 2 (31:17):
No, I like to make it really awkward.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
You have your list, don't you. I don't think we
have time for that. All right, got about ninety seconds here.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
I hate to say it. Aaron Rodgers still makes the list.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
Yeah, And I pointed that out to you guys. How
many pre show meetings have we had where I beg
you not.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
To talk you anybody begs us not to bring.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Up Aaron Rodgers because he's such a big story all
the time.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Sick of hearing about Aaron. Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
I mean, it's just there's so many Jets storylines, the
hard knock stuff like, I mean everything, Aaron Rodgers, for sure.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Number two, number three? You skipped Umber three, didn't you?
You did five and four? Ohit? No? Okay? Am I am?
I off here? We did Brady? No, but you did
Judge case. Judge was off, just off Judge and I did. Wait.
I was saying to each of your list, I was saying,

(32:09):
you know what, this is one of those rare moments.
I think you're right. When we come back, Covino and
I have our own top five. Oh Man, Spotify Unwrapped
Athletes of twenty twenty four. You're gonna get to mid
Week made you it spot a lot of really cool stories,
uh that are in the world of pop culture and sports.
We'll get to all those, and of course some NFL.

(32:30):
But next think about it. The top five athletes in
the top five stories. How about the two of you
think about it. We're good. I didn't expect good jump
in you put well, then I'm mad. You have a
good day.

Speaker 1 (32:45):
We got a hard cot and Rich next, oh man,
these are my top five with no interruptions from Rich.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Number five athletes.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
Number five, I said, Lebron James, I was gonna put
judge in her.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
I took him out, Lebron James. How noble of you?
Number four Aaron Rodgers. Number three, Number three Travis Kelcey
makes sense.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Uh huh uh huh huh. Number two show hey Otani
fifty to fifty also a big story. And number one,
I would say you're gonna love Number one Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 2 (33:31):
Okay, oh come on, how could she not be dude?
She took the world by storm.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
So those are my top five athletes, my top five stories.
Now this is your own spotifyer five wrapped in your mind, right,
Like who you talked about the most?

Speaker 2 (33:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, yeah, I mean, in my opinion, everyone's gonna have
like their own. That's the beauty of the Spotify rapt
or whatever. Right, everybody has their own.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah, like you might say, oh wow, I didn't realize
how much Ed Sheer and I listened to.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
So you know what, before I give you a tough stories,
let me hear your top five athletes. My top five
athletes based on five what I feel that we talked
about the most on the show. Number five Tom Brady,
between the roast, the announcing that's just TV twelve, his
shirt off, the divorce, Giselle's having a baby. There was
a million Tom Brady story. So I think Tom Brady's

(34:21):
definitely if we did have a sports Spotify rapped.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Number four. Number four Aaron Rodgers. I mean every.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Day I feel like Danny G's like stopping already. So
number four Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Number three Mike Tyfi between the fight, the cancelation, the
fight again, Tyson trivia. He's always on our mind on
this show. We talk a lot of Mike Tyson. In fact,
we have some pretty cool Mike Tyson news later on
in the show. So we have Mike Tyson at number three.
Number two, Number two.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
Show Hey Otani, the battle with Aaron Judge, the gambling story,
was he involved?

Speaker 10 (35:10):
Was he not?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
The World Series gambling story and his numbers this year
he might be the.

Speaker 2 (35:15):
Number one and number one. Number one, Travis Kelcey, he
was just still everywhere. Travis Kelcey by far. Number one.
You have Kaitlyn Clark on your I did not because
you do. I have Caitlyn Clark.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
I didn't kill number zero sex. I didn't care much
to talk about her. Why are you talking about this summer?
You guys did and and I rolled my eyes. Okay,
so she was googled billions of times. You as far
as talked about story, right, because when you get your
Spotify wrapped or there's all different sections, right, So we're
making up our own talked about story. I'm going with

(35:54):
the Brady Roast because it was a big deal at
one point.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Number five.

Speaker 1 (35:59):
Number four, I'm going with Juan Soto and where he
ends up and the whole Sodo storyline. I'm actually throwing
him in there still unfold. Number three, Taylor and Travis
at number three, I know, roll your eyes, that's the story.
Number two, sho Hao Tani, fifty to fifty. That's what

(36:22):
I had down the fifty to fifty. Did it outweigh
Aaron Judge all the other stuff, but show Hel Tani.
Number two. Number one, the Mike Tyson storyline this year
was number one for me. I'm not putting him as
like a top athlete. He had an exhibition fight. But
as far as storyline, it dragged out, We talked about
it leading up to it, then it got postponed. We
dragged it out again and talked about it, talked about

(36:42):
it afterward. It just garnered so much conversation here on
the show. So as far as talk about story as
my number one, but as far as athlete Jake Paul Tyson,
they're not making the top five for me. But again
that's the beauty of it. It's gonna be different for everybody.
That's my top five stories. Talked about stories rich to
your top five and again Fox Sports Radio Nation agree, disagree?

Speaker 2 (37:05):
What are we forgetting?

Speaker 1 (37:07):
You know, add to your own, think about your own
Danny g Any thoughts on what you've.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Heard so far. No, I like your storyline so far.

Speaker 4 (37:14):
The one that came to mind from me because here
and there, over a couple of week health throughout the
baseball season. In fact, we talked about MLB in Oakland
and sports in Oakland in general.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
That was a storyline that was a big storyline for now.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
My top five number five storylines. Now again, this is
what I feel in my heart.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
We talked about this could be totally wrong.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Remember the wrapped It's very personalized, so it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
Yeah, I mean I feel like ray Gun the Breakdancer.
I'm kidding that is that is not my list.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
And you know what missed my list, Travis and Taylor.
I really feel like that was more last year. While
we did touch on it a lot, the whole swear
jar every time we said their name, that was twenty
twenty three.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
It was so us. I know that was it, Gus.
It culminated with it culminated with the Super Bowl in January. Yeah,
started over here with the two season we started the
year with.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Yes, so it's still big, but don't think it's top
five high number five on what I feel like. We
touched on the most father son stuff Lebron, Bronni Griffy,
Griffy Jr. We talked a lot about Lebron and your
Day Jane Big Justice. He said it to That's what
I'm saying, favorite father and son number four. I think
number four again, this is what we talk about on

(38:28):
the show. My fascination with what the Niners need to
do with Brock Party because it goes back to last year,
like is pretty awesome.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
He is an elite guy. Honestly, did you bring up
the forty nine ers?

Speaker 4 (38:38):
So I feel like it started with you driving alone
through the desert, shouting, raising your fist at the heavens.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
By and I drove home after the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
All off season it's like Prety Perdy So Rock Party
definitely Number four for me. Number three if I had
my own Spotify rapped when I think we talked about
most on the show.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Number three.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
When it comes to baseball, Otani and Judge, there was
a lot of there's a lot of who's better, Who's
the MVP. They're chasing records fifty to fifty Judge, there
was a time of the year where Judge was unstoppable.
I remember the postseason was so exciting for this show
in particular too, because you had Danny.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
G's Dodgers, the Yankees, the Mets. It was.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
It was just a great postseason and the only one
that really made it to both my list.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Number two.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Number two Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, I think we exhausted
the hell out of that more than any other show
on Fox. At ESPNCBS. We both had that at number one. No,
that's number two for me, Oh, it's number two. I
really think that it was such a story that was
in our wheelhouse of pop culture sports, the reminiscing of
the nostalgia of Mike Tyson and Jake Paul being an

(39:47):
unlikable but yet awesome iful people couldn't care less about it.
But Jay stew and the goliep Show. So your number
one is what?

Speaker 2 (39:55):
Then? Number one? Green Bay College Basketball? Number one? What
number one? The Mets?

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Magic Grimace Lindor for me that I was obsessed for
a good month and a half with the Mets were
as no dude listen as Jerry Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
Was on w f AN in New York yesterday and.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Seinfeld, Hey, you know I'm a Mets fan, and Seinfeld
brought up an interesting point. Short of winning a World Series,
the Mets really gave their fans arguably the most magical
season you could give a fan base without without winning
it all. Without winning it all, the Mets gave that
fan base more to cheer about other than the championship.

(40:45):
It really was magical. So for me, so many amazing
like the amazing Mets moments this year for your team.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
So I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (40:55):
But can we all agree in the room between Danny
g I was Sam Spotty me you, Dan Byer, what
do you think as a show we talked about the
most on Kavene on Wretch. Do you think it was
Aaron Rodgers. Do you think it was I wish we
had those, Travis and Taylor? Do you think it was
Mike Tyson?

Speaker 4 (41:09):
Dana Well, Tyson was a big deal on our show,
but also Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
Neither of you mentioned I Mahome.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Yeah, he's a staple on the show and a big
storyline for the NFL leading into the season. Caleb Williams, Yeah,
we did.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Talk a lot of Caleb when you get your Spotify wrapped.
And by the way, I don't care what streaming service
you use or where you get this from, right, there's
always different little categories. And it was like your longest
streak was I listened to Des Rocks ten days in
a row, Sad. Do you think there was a streak
of we talked about Patrick Mahomes for like ten days
straight on every show, Like, I think Tyson would be

(41:47):
on that list for sure. Aaron Judge and show Hey,
they'd be on that I met. We talked about them
for weeks straight. You know, you know who would have
a great perspective because he works not only you know,
with our show every day, and he's here a lot
of the day, has his own show. Damn byer dB, you're
here every day, you do your own show, a respected
man here at Fox Sports Radio. You hear are highly

(42:09):
respect You're with Doug Gottlieb. You're all over the place.
When you think of Cavino, ritch for real, like, what
silly storyline? Do you feel like we exhausted?

Speaker 6 (42:16):
I'm surprised. Do you guys think that you talked about
Tyson as much as he did. I think it's because
it's recent, because the fight had happened, very possible. I
think that your number one topic. If I'm making it
a combo, because I do think it's real. It's New
York Baseball. Not only was it the Mets push, but
it was even before that in April and May when
they stunk, Rich was not happy with him. Was if

(42:40):
you know, you've talked about their bullpen throughout the summer,
and then when you think of the.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Clay Holmes, Cavino's love for Clay Holmes. Now they're saying
he might start for the Mets.

Speaker 6 (42:49):
You know, I had the Aaron Judge versus Caitlyn Clark popularity,
you know, a big, big one, you know, and you
guys talked about that. But obviously the month of October
it was New York Baseball, and so I would say, so,
I can't just say Yankees and Mets because of both
of your fandoms and how far they went, but I

(43:10):
would think that would be number one.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Yeah, dB, I think your hottest topic as a host
and as an anchor and everything. You brought that Aaron
Judge Caitlin Clark topic to life that every other show
on the network was talking about that because of you.

Speaker 6 (43:21):
It was almost just a by accident because Jason Stewart
made the comment that when Judge was meeting Caitlin Clark
that it was a problem for Major League Baseball that
Clark was the more popular player, and I said, hold on,
a sec, Judge is way more popular, And then the
entire channel.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
Talked about hold on, hold on, didn't I was SAYM
actually have an aneurism turn that converside?

Speaker 9 (43:45):
Did?

Speaker 2 (43:45):
I survived? Somehow?

Speaker 3 (43:46):
By the way, Rich, I know why you think Home
Alone two is better than Home Alone one because you
guys are so.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
In New York City. Yeah, lost New York, New York.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Cost course you don't like the Homeless bird lady, I
actually love the pigeon more. Danbire makes a great point
to do like because he's there listening to us b
S every day. New York Baseball definitely took up a
lot of the show. But the postseason was great. Like
I don't I don't want to think that we're so
Yankees metric, but it was such a great season there was.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
Reason to talk about talk about it. I remember Rich.

Speaker 6 (44:18):
Complaining about April and May and how the Mets were
when they didn't have any expectations and then roller coaster. Yeah,
then everything switched.

Speaker 1 (44:26):
So that's our Covino and Rich. Fox Sports Radio wrapped.
It's number two, uh, Danny G's unrealistic greaters expectations looking.

Speaker 4 (44:40):
Pretty good, returned to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Good number one for me, it was Gardner Minshew's most number.
That's so funny.

Speaker 1 (44:53):
So you know, we just want you to think about
yours because there is no stat there's no rapped. But
what were you favorite storylines? What do you think it
would say about you, what are those stories? What are
those athletes for you? Tomorrow's not only our holiday party,
and I'm promoting and old school win fifty hits. We

(45:15):
throw it back on Thursdays and reminisce. But we're gonna
read reviews tomorrow. So if you have Apple Podcasts and
you follow Cavino and Rich, leave a review, and if
we call your name tomorrow, we send you or we
meaning Danny G. Sends you a Swiggy and you can
keep it, you can regift it, you can do whatever
you want with it. But it's our way of saying
thanks and happy holidays. So leave a review, a good review,

(45:39):
and you qualify for a swiggy tomorrow. On the show,
Tanny G's like, what are we friends?

Speaker 2 (45:46):
We nothing?

Speaker 4 (45:47):
That's a great one star review that I'm gonna lead
off with tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
These guys stink. Give me my cup.

Speaker 1 (45:53):
As long as we read it right, as long as
we read it, you win a Swiggy. So there you go.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
It'll stand out more if it's starts.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
Said someone yesterday, We had one great comment because we
were talking about that golden at bat. Someone goes sounds like, guys,
don't watch one baseball game. I'm like, sadly quite the opposite.
Cavino watches one hundred and sixty two.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
Ye, Dan Byer said, we talked about nauseum. All right,
let's do this Midweek Major.

Speaker 7 (46:20):
Covino and Rich get you over the middle of the week.
When mid Week Major Major.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
Oh, I love that.

Speaker 7 (46:27):
We throw sports and pop culture headlines and topics at
the fellas and it's like the kids.

Speaker 5 (46:33):
Say, that's summit.

Speaker 8 (46:34):
We definitely major.

Speaker 2 (46:36):
See it. Our scoring Midweek Major a good one. Bro,
I like it. You hear the horns. That means you
have made it to the middle of the week.

Speaker 4 (46:54):
Before we hand things over to the number one and
only host to the segment. We liked to roll the
two big red Love dice the main studio to see
who gets first take.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
I thought the horns me and you do the Donald
Trump dance to it. That's the most popular dance of
twenty twenty five. I'm twenty twenty four.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
You got a six? Yeah, I gotta sun all right,
So Rich rolling oh six, look at that a tie?
All right? It's a rule control one e troll one
yeah six again shows at the craps table with a six.
Oh my gosh, six again has never happened? Six again?

(47:34):
Shut up? Wait number are these loaded? Dice? What happens?
It's the number of the beasts. The number of the
beast if we go, Oh my god, dude, that's the
first time I ever triple.

Speaker 6 (47:47):
You just could lie and say like.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
We don't lie. Show of integrity please.

Speaker 4 (47:56):
All right, and now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous
besides Judy Bloom from Scotch Plains New Jersey, Spotty Play by.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
The Way on Spotify rapped number one show for Judy
Blue mentions.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Absolutely fifty two mentions this year. All right, rich, it's
to you. I'll throw this out since it's hot off
the press.

Speaker 9 (48:17):
Christian McCaffrey, coming off his season and season ending injury. Yeah,
just penned an emotional note to the fans at leased
on his Instagram earlier today. Yeah, he said, uh, you know,
just to summarize it, this wasn't my year. And sometimes
when it rains it poors, you can feel sorry for
yourself and listen to the birds, or.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
You can hold the line.

Speaker 9 (48:35):
He said, He's grateful for the support of everyone in
his corner, promises to work smarter and harder and come
back better from this. So he was letting us, letting
the fans know he plans to work hard in the
off season and get back at it next season.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
In midweek for Major.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
Hi to listen, I think it's Major maybe the most
explosive offensive player in the year. Just hey, listen, like
you said, when it rains and pours. Sometimes you know,
he works hard. You've seen some of his off seat
in training videos. The guy's a machine. And listen, he's
getting older, but he still got guess in the tank.
I think McCaffrey will come back stronger and better. And sometimes,

(49:10):
you know, like you said, sometimes things just don't go
your way.

Speaker 9 (49:13):
Great use of cliches. I feel like this you're just
describing a bunch of cliches. I could have agreed more
with you. Spot right there, man. You know what, I
also agree.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
I also agree Major because he's.

Speaker 2 (49:30):
Christian, comes around of it right.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
But I think maybe working too hard may have put
him in this position. He works and trains may be
way too hard than necessary.

Speaker 2 (49:40):
So that's why.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
You have an extra wear and tear on the body.
And I believe Colin Cowhart said today he's peaked. He
has and that doesn't mean, he's not going to be great,
but you think he's going to be better after.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
All these injuries.

Speaker 1 (49:54):
Big dreaming brah And I'm not rooting against the guy,
but he's had a tough season. I wish him to best.
It's a major story, but I don't think he's gonna
be better as a result of all this. I blame
that Damn Madden the curse. There you go, what else?

Speaker 2 (50:08):
All right, Well, here's a fun one for you.

Speaker 9 (50:10):
So, as you know, before John Elway became the legendary
quarterback for the Denver Broncos, you had a brief stint
with the Yankees. He played one quick season. I don't
even know it was a full season in the minor league. Yeah,
that's what I'm saying. Let me finish my story. Rich
in nineteen eighty one actually drafted six spots ahead of
Tony Gwynn. Well Tops is commemorating his brief stint with

(50:31):
the Yankees by actually releasing a special edition baseball card
is part of their twenty twenty four Bowman Draft set,
and to announce the addition this is what makes even
more fun, they enlisted Larry David to reprise his role
as George Steinbrenner. You know, they always filmed for the
back of the head, like doing a mock thing of
the nineteen eighty one draft show, Guy, we need to
draft John Oway Johay. So yeah, that video is available online.

(50:52):
The set is actually out right now. It's a two
hundred card set. So maybe if you get enough of them,
you can find that John Elway card.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Midweek or Major. I think it's for collectors. It's major.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
Listen if you watch the docuseriies the thirty for thirty
Lway to Marino. It is wild to think that Steinbrenner
and the Yankees had Lway slated in the opening day
lineup and then and Lay would have played baseball had
the Cults followed through and said not, we're drafting you.
So I think it's pretty cool Lway to think he
could have been in the starting lineup for the Yankees.

(51:22):
The fact that he did end up winning a couple
of Super Bowls went to five proves that he made
the right choice in the NFL. But pretty cool that
Lway will get a baseball card. It's it's on the
borderline of mid and major. But since Rich said mid,
I'll go major because it's John Elway, and I think
that's one of those forgotten stories, Like, man, this dude
was penciled.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
In there with Don Manning.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
He's starting in right field, John Elway, that's insane. Like
a lot of people forget about that. So if a
card reminds people of that, I think that's cool. But
what makes it mid is they're giving cards to anybody.
The Beehive guy from Arizona, that was a big story
this year. He had a card, He got a card.
So I mean, I mean the fact that John I
always getting on. I think it's well deserved and long overdue,

(52:04):
kind of cool, something to look forward to, Like I
says right there, between mid and major, I'll go major
because it's John Away. By the way athletes to play
multiple sports, I'm always fascinated by. If you haven't seen
the clip following around social media since Jameis Winston's like
lightening up and you know, playing the way he's playing.
Did you see the clip of him and Carlos Korea
playing with each other in college And there's one play

(52:25):
people are showing where he rifles a guy out from
right field, like you can tell it's a quarterback arm
and right field.

Speaker 5 (52:32):
Yah.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
He had a cannon commut. This one's for you. You love,
you love these guys.

Speaker 9 (52:36):
Your favorite Internet sensation, Big Justice just beat Bryce Harper,
no other than Bryce Harper in a home run challenge
hosted by Internet celeb Mister Beast. In the video World,
famous athletes like Carper as well as Christiano Ronaldo and
No Allows were put against average humans like Big Justice
to win one hundred thousand dollars. So Bryce Harper went

(52:58):
against the eleven year old Big Justice for one hundred
thous and Harper's of course if he won, would go
to charity, Big Justice getting to keep the money since
there was.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
An unfair advantage between the two.

Speaker 9 (53:07):
Harper had to hit a home run out of a
major league stadium and Mister Beast allowed Big Justice to
hit it out of a little league stadium without aluminum
bat So I know, at the end of the day,
Big Justice got five home runs, Bryce Harper only got four,
so we ended up winning it.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
So there's a.

Speaker 9 (53:21):
Little asterix on the headline, But there you go. Midweek
or major.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
It's the most major story of the day by far.
It really is.

Speaker 1 (53:28):
And to make it clear, they are the Costco guys
that have gone viral.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Big How would you not know?

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Big Aj is the dad, Big Justice is the kid
they bring the boom.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
And by the way, how old how old is AJ? Oh?
I'm sorry Big Justice eleven? Yeah, he's eleven years.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
Old, so he's field boom like his dad, and he
hit I think Bryce Harper hit four home runs and
he beat that with finding one hundred thousand dollars, and
I think this completely proves that he's better than Bryce Harper.
So major, yes, you know what. I am impressed though,
it's major. And I'll if he was like thirteen or
fourteen and he was on a little league field one

(54:04):
eighty dimensions, I'd be like, come on. But the reality
is he's an eleven year old, which he would play
on the little league field. So I'll say, if I
were the Phillies, I'd get rid of Harper and definitely
get Yeah, that's probably what you should do, Big Justice.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
And a related story, did you see.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
The Tom Brady one where they had some young high
school football player he beat Tom Brady in target practice
and a very similar mister beast stunt.

Speaker 2 (54:25):
So hey, if you could.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Beat Tom Brady or Bryce Harper in anything, that's a
bragging one.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
Yeah, pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (54:31):
I think mister Beast showing why he's the number one
guy on social media?

Speaker 9 (54:34):
Right, all right, Travis kellt hey doing it. Travis Kelsey
opened up about his performance this season on the latest
episode of The New Heights podcast. Addressing his quote lack
of chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, he said, I'm just
not on the same page as Patt.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
It can get frustrating.

Speaker 9 (54:53):
Acknowledge that once he gets in the ends of the
red zone, he gets hungrier, but just can't find his
way to the end zone. He says that they find
a way to win, but they're not playing their best football,
so maybe the first step is admitting it.

Speaker 2 (55:05):
Who knows it's going to come next Midweek or Major
This is the weakest thing ever. You're welcome only because.

Speaker 9 (55:13):
I want to hear about his Taylor's Christmas, because I'll
give you that.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
No, No, it's a good story spot week only because
the reality is the Chiefs aren't playing their best football,
yet they're still eleven in one, so it's like, oh God,
could the could the Bills or Ravens or someone do.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Us a favor come January?

Speaker 1 (55:28):
Because no one wants to see a three peat unless
you live in Kansas.

Speaker 9 (55:31):
Jason Kelsey says it's their tay voodoo that's causing.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
Them to tail. Yeah, you know, I think it's a
major story.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
They've been playing all these seasons together and they've lost
rhythm and chemistry somehow. I blame the political uh landscape
and political divide they had throughout the election. I do
something something is stirring. If they've lost chemistry somehow, they've
been playing together for years. I think that speaks volus

(55:58):
for him to come clean and admit that on a podcast.
I think more than meets the eye there something's not right.

Speaker 9 (56:05):
Since you mentioned the P word politics aside, I'll say
that we all felt a little bit of a loss
after kirkurb Street lost his beloved dog Ben last month,
who was a gay a staple on the college game
day while herb Street shared that he received a personal
note from President Joe Biden sharing his appreciation and compassion

(56:25):
over the loss of Ben. The letter read, I'll sum
it up, I was so sorry to hear about the
loss of your beloved Ben. Ben brought so much comfort
and unconditional love to millions of Americans across our nation.
Went on to say that he hopes Kirk can find
comfort and cherishing the memories he shared ending with he
was a good boy.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
So a very sweet little nod from the President of
the United States. Midweker Major. I think it's lovely. Major
up because Biden, though he wrote the letter, he probably
he just signed it. I'm glad said that. I'm gonna
say Major too.

Speaker 1 (56:55):
Any acknowledgement from any president I think is a major honor,
regardless of your political affiliations. An acknowledgment because your dog died,
that's incredible. Listen, I asked as Major as a guest.

Speaker 2 (57:07):
I've said this before.

Speaker 1 (57:09):
I hate having to say politics aside, but it would
be an honor to meet any president, whether it's Biden.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
Trump, Clinton, you name it. To me, meeting the president,
you gotta put politics aside. It's just an honor.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
And and imagine your first of all, your your dog died.
That's a horrible situation for anybody, right, but imagine your
your your president acknowledges that.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
That's a pretty pretty wild that is that's a major story.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
And I did give props to our buddy Clinton Yates
who we worked with at ESPN. Yeah, he welcomed the
baby I believe, and he got a letter from Tim Kaine, politician.

Speaker 2 (57:42):
And he posted. I was like, that's pretty wild.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
The thing like you got to congratulations from a pretty
significant political figure.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Mickey Mouse, and what you reached out to Clinton? Yeah?
So you kissing ass? Yeah? It was always nice.

Speaker 1 (57:56):
Well, it's Hard Knocks. Hard Knocks is back and Danny
g I gotta catch up, but debuted last night.

Speaker 4 (58:01):
Right, that's good a North Yeah, and so it shows
they go back and forth to all the different meeting
rooms between the teams and they're going to play against
each other in the same division, and so you could
see how the coaches are preparing to play against their nemesis.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
You know what I was doing, honestly, I was finishing
wrapping up the John Bennet Ramsey docu series on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
And have already.

Speaker 1 (58:25):
To be honest, I'm trying to every night the kids
finally get to sleep, and I'm trying to finish Penguin
on HBO Max, which is awesome.

Speaker 2 (58:36):
I'm finally up to the last episode.

Speaker 1 (58:37):
But you know when you start something, you dozing off
and you're like, I can't sleep during this.

Speaker 2 (58:42):
It's too good. It's called Edibles. Richer maybe shoul lay
off them.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
I haven't taken that, So I feel about this. I'm
so tired of haven't had to take it edible in weeks.

Speaker 2 (58:47):
So I feel about the show.

Speaker 4 (58:48):
Every afternoon, by the way, Cove as Mike Tomlin and
the Steelers were getting ready to face Joe Burrow and
the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (58:56):
They give Burrow so much love. They call it the
Joe Burrow It's up on the big screen and they
have this whole plan about how Joe Burrow cannot beat them.
They give him so much respect.

Speaker 4 (59:07):
And then the show goes into Joe Burrow on the
practice field, and that's where this story comes from.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
You're about to die.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
So the Steelers were preparing basically off Joe Burrow, and
that leads to Joe Burrow there and he has a
batmobile on the show. Well, apparently he paid two point
nine million dollars.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
It's on order. He doesn't have it yet.

Speaker 1 (59:29):
He told his teammates, well, I saw the image, so okay,
so I see the image. I didn't watch it yet.
Joe Burrow and people are talking about it. He pays
two point nine million dollars for the batmobile.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
And you're like, damn, for real.

Speaker 9 (59:42):
It's a replica of the Christopher Nolan The Dark Knight
Trilogy batmobile, big tank style.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
It's legit, And I guess he's a big fan clearly
if he's willing to spend three million dollars on a batmobile,
not the old school sixties one that Sam's referencing there.
But it make you think, like, man, it must be
good to be Joe Burrow to just buy whatever the
heck you want and buy the toys that you dreamt of.
It's like buying a DeLorean with all the fixes, just

(01:00:10):
for the fun of it.

Speaker 6 (01:00:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:00:11):
And here's what's crazy about it is while it does drive,
it's not street legal, so he can't.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Yeah, it doesn't look street legal. Can't drive it around town? Right?
Can't drive it to games?

Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
When you have as much money he does, he can?
We can drive it around his own compound.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Can we play a little game of perspective for a moment? Sure?

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Rich Joe Burrow, when all said and done, makes about
fifty sixty million dollars a year. Him spending three million
dollars on a batmobile is like someone that makes one
hundred thousand dollars spending five grand. It's just a toy
to him though, because, like Spot said, you can't take
it on the street. But I remember like someone saying, like,
can you believe Beyonce and jay Z have like a

(01:00:50):
gold plated toilet or something.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
I'm like, do you know how much money they have?

Speaker 6 (01:00:54):
Same?

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
I mean it's Joe Burrow buying a three million dollar
toy is like you buying a five thousand dollars Rolex.
Actually no, that's like someone that makes one hundred thousand dollars,
mind a five thousand dollars rolls.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Like what are you saying.

Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
I'm saying it's nothing to Joe Barrow, you're taking your
hand for the homeless. You think Commudo comto makes more
than a hundred thousand dollars, I'm saying someone that makes it.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
I mean someone that makes I'm saying someone.

Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
That makes let's say, one hundred thousand dollars round number
them spending five percent of their salary on something. What's
his next purchase kit? What's Hislorian?

Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
No, really, you know that it's pretty cool. You know
the card, the Rivian, he has two chips motorcycles.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
You know the Rivian.

Speaker 1 (01:01:33):
It's like electric really like a high end got the
kit light in the front. The Rivian has settings for
you can make it kit or the DeLorean get out
of here, and kid like night night, Yes night. Right
before my daughter's best friend's parents have a Rivian and
like the guys like yo, come here, check this out.

(01:01:54):
He has like November fifth, nineteen fifty And in the
back dash, yeah, which have a dash? In the second
row is the flex capacitor. No, it's sweet wow.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
As the outside light up when you go eighty eight? No,
outside lights up when you open the doors based on
what season it is.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
Maybe we'll have to talk about this tomorrow because it
does raise a lot of questions. It's like if you
had endless means, endless limits, endless funds, what would be
that silly purchase for you?

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
And it does also make you think of is that
the ultimate? Like car? Would you or would you buy
the General Lee or something like?

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
It does make you think of the other like cars
in Hollywood, Right, I would buy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
The Scooby Doo Van.

Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
No, what would you buy if you had to buy
a car? Would you buy the eighteen mobile? But what
would be the biggest bringing? Right, like your biggest flex.
It's like when David Wells was just like ef itt
I'm wearing the Babe Ruth hat on the mound like
that was so cool when he did that. As far
as famous cars, oh you and I should. You and
I should come to work on the two motorcycles from

(01:02:56):
Chips Bigger and Punch.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Maybe we should.

Speaker 7 (01:02:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
So he like Peewee's bike, could be another one. I
like that too.

Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
I would buy Disneyland. That way, my wife could go
as much as she wants without a season pass.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
The whole park. That's pretty I don't even think that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
We'll just we'll just play your past, We'll play the
season pass. You know what to think about it. We'll
talk about it tomorrow. What would be your crazy purchase?
Until that'll reama there at you baby, see you in
a promise.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
