Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, thanks for listening to the best of Tabino and
Rich podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Be sure to catch us live every day from five to.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Seven pm the eastern two to four pacifics on Fox
Sports Radio. Find your local station for Gabino and Rich
at Fox Sports Radio dot com, or stream us live
every day on the iHeartRadio app by searching FSR. It's
like everything happens at once. Now I'm not complaining, I'm
just displaying because we got football and that's exciting. We
(00:29):
have exciting things to talk about, course and prizes to
give away. But everything happens at once. Got the blowout
about to happen? The tire you know what that costs?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Right?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Good?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Five four to five hund Oh oh you got the
five performance tires? Yeah for a nice run flat, brand new.
It's expensive, it's not cheap. And you know what happened.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
This is great.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
And this is not to say oh what was me?
Is to say, hey, at least your weekend's going better
than mine. It's a heat wave here in the Los Angeles.
It's lame misables. It's bat wing weather, sweaty ass weather
on the forecast, and my AC is out, My unit's done.
Stick a fork in it. And guess what estimate I
(01:13):
got this morning. Ooh, let's say for a new AC
unit in my place. All right, I'm not talking window
air conditioning. I'm talking a full on unit. Ten grand up. Again,
we're in Los Angeles.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
Yeah, somebody quoted my mom recently fourteen for a let's.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Go fourteen grand up lost Joe Montana sixteen sixteen plus.
That's not including taxes. And you know they have to
break the ceiling open. That's more money just to get
this done. I live in a condo here in Los Angeles.
And it's done. It's over. And now I'm getting estimates
while sweating my ass off every night. Sixteen g's on
(01:55):
top of the tire, on top of my daughter busting
my chops because she pain in the as teenager. So
just know the beauty of a football weekend. I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Pay attention, pay attention to my parlais litter.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
I will.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
I will say this, Cavino, because we were in a
similar situation last year where ours went out. We had
to have it replaced. I couldn't wait for summer, like
the nine months to actually use it. If your unit
is old, yeah it's twenty five years old. You will
save the amount that you were spending. You will save
for however you want to. If you're gonna do it
(02:30):
on a yes on a payment plan or whatever, yes
you can, you will save the amount with.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Any evidence it is and sometimes there's rebates. But yeah,
my point is everything sort of happens at once, So
enjoy the football, let your mind go free, and just
enjoy the red zone that I'll be tuning into commercial
free right, Oh and there's commercials.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Heads are falling off.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Yeah, well, anyway, at least there's football, is my point,
and I'm excited about it despite all the hassles in
the hoffs.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Life throws your way.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
But yeah, they pay me in wild wings and meatballs
here at Fox Sports, so you should be good, so
I should be fine. But sixteen thousand, that's just one estimate, man,
So we'll see what happens. Interestingly enough, life, am I right?
Or what to show you how Cavino is sick of me?
Once we're done with the show, I said, hey, dude,
if you want to stay in my guest bedroom so
(03:26):
you don't stain the heat, he rather stay in the
heat of his It's rather sweat in his own place
than have to spend time with me on a weekend.
It's the cost that bothers me the most for something
that's going to sit on my roof and I'm never
going to see anyway. Like Dan Bayer said, I won't
reap the benefits until next summer probably, yes, But right
now it's hot in Los Angeles, so gotta figure this
out soon. Either way, last night, I sat there in
(03:48):
my own stank, in my own sweat, and I enjoyed
the game, and we got to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Now, we're gonna give Way prizes.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
We got Riches Solar Power parlay that returns weekend hobnobbing
because it's fried. What you need to watch this weekend?
What games, what shows will fill you in. But last night, man,
it was controversial right from the get go, talking about
the NFL providing content from from the first from the
first freaking play, an offensive snap hadn't been taken.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yet, and here we are with what Lougie gate.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
You know what I was saying, Oh snap, Now, I
gotta say, man, everybody was pretty hard on Jalen Carter,
and I guess deservingly so. But we only saw one
side of the story and don't tell me. With all
the footage and all the replays and all the access
that people have, they didn't know that Dak Prescott spit first.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
They saved that for the very end of the game
because we watched.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
The whole thing. We watched the whole thing thinking Jalen
Carter was a villain. Yeah, im saying he's not. I'm
not saying he's not. I'm saying, when you get the
full story, I feel like there's a different understanding.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Yeah, Jack da spit was different though.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
It was not even different like DK spit on the ground,
and it could have been very well been like yeah,
but they couldn't have explained that during the broadcast because
there was a good hour or two hours plus where
I was like, this guy's the worst dude ever. And
I'm not justifying it, but the fact that I think
it was a retaliation spit does change it a little bit.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
A little bit. I'll explain.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Now, if I were to spit on the ground and
like make a look at you, and then you walked
up to me and spit on me, that's like not
even close. It's not the same, but not even close. Again,
I got to start it off by saying, we were
led to believe that Jalen Carter spit on Dak Prescott
out of nowhere, and that's the ultimate insult, the ultimate
(05:44):
disrespect to get spit on. So you automatically thought, like,
what an a hole. He's jeopardizing his own team, his
own reputation. UH to do that to Dak Prescott the
game hasn't even started.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
You totally blew it.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
What a terrible look for your friends and family and
for the team, and you think like, what a what
a mistake to make before the season even starts. But
then the details slip out. I saw it first on
social media, not on the broadcast, that the first spit
was from Dak Prescott.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Is it the same?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
No, But it was in the direction, and you could
see the misunderstanding because it looked like Dak was antagonizing
him to me, dude, if I spit on the grass
or floor in front of me, But it was in
his direction. But it's not like it's not the same.
I agree with you, I'm I'm not debating that at all.
What Jaye Len Carter still did was was uncalled for
and atrocious and disrespectful. It was gross, especially for young fans.
(06:40):
It was gross. He should apologize to his young fans.
But I could see where it was coming from because
he thought that Dak was spitting at him. But then
Dak then follow it up after the game with yo,
I spill like one hundred times a game.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
It's gross, but that's what we do.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
They all, yeah, they all do. But you could see
at least where it was coming from. I'm not making
excuses for the guy. I'm saying I have a different
understanding as to why it happened, Not excusing the fact
that it happened. I'm saying he saw Dak Prescott spit
in his direction, whether it was at his feet or
just like at his direction. He's like, are you trying
(07:16):
to spit on me? And then you see Dak sort
of antagonizing him, like yo, what's up? What's up? Looking
at him. You could see where it got under his skin.
Did he jumped the gun and spit on him? And
I was uncle for yes, But at least I understand
why it happened, not justifying the fact that it happened. Man,
I'm saying I understand. I thought twenty twenty four was
the year of the Hawkta Well would you would you
be okay, if someone's spitting you in your direction, it
(07:39):
doesn't matter in your direction. I mean that's on me.
I know it's not on you, but like in your direction,
because it did look like it was in his direction,
but it wasn't like he pointed at Jaylen Carter made
some big gestures like yo, you clown. He was looking
at him though, he was like he was kind of
staring at you, just antagonizing the dude. If I looked
at I was sam right in the eyes and I
(07:59):
spit out my face man, literally a foot in front
of me, and I was just like, look at.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Yeah, it was provot.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
It could have been.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Can I been interpreted as I spit at you? I
spit at you?
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Man?
Speaker 2 (08:09):
It could have been interpreted that way.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
I don't think that that Presscott meant it that way,
but I think that's how he interpreted it.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
I'm not I'm not playing dumb.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Here, but I really think I believe when I when
I see Dak saying like, dude, I don't know what
this guy's doing. I was just I spend one hundred
times a game. I believe that too. I don't also
believe that Jalen Carter thought something else. That's all I'm saying.
But I don't believe. I don't believe that Dak was
spitting at him intentionally, but I believe it could have
been interpreted that way, like you're spitting in my direction,
(08:40):
you're spitting at That would be like you looking at
someone's direction and grabbing your junk and then being like yo,
he made a gesture and.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Communited like I read my junk one hundred times a day.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
You're discrediting the expressions and antagonizing afterward. Then, I think
that's what adds to it. It doesn't make it okay.
Like I said, I can't defend it. I think it's
the worst disrespect ever. I think it's a gross look
for the NFL, for Carter, who apparently is a great
player and a great guy. I love how Dak Prescott handled.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
It, sure about it. He's a great guy. Oh, I
don't think he's a very bright individual personally. They were
saying he's a great teammate.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Jalen Hurts was speaking very highly of him, and Dak
Prescott even spoke highly of him after the game. So
I feel like he handled it really well. But I'm
not making excuses I'm saying. I could see how it
was misinterpreted. Yeah, that's all, And we didn't get that
story untill like almost after the game. Be honest, no
(09:33):
one was hurt, nothing bad happened. I almost feel like
I'm over it. Let's let's move on becaus his other storylines.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
But it was.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
It was a big thing last night. But the reality
is Jalen Carter was ejected from the game. DA's like, yo,
I spent a lot, I'm sorry from a game, because
that's what we're talking about. Eagles won no harm, no
foul for losing a great player early on. I think
it's sort of becoming a non story a day later,
but in that moment, it was sure a big deal.
Speaker 4 (09:59):
I still want to know what Dak said because as
a Brooder film style, there's tape of Dak mumbling something,
saying something to Carter and people were trying to read
his lips, but he obviously said something that triggered card.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Sorry, jumboy only does baseball. Yeah no, he does cricket
and other week things too. But your thoughts eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox, And it is unfortunate that
that's what we're talking about.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
But that's how the game started.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
And it was a close game, and Rich talked about
that yesterday, like, hey, this could be one of those
games that is a lot closer than we think. It's
because I even said last night on Instagram I posted
during the game it was.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
It was exactly what I said.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
It was why I didn't want to bet on that game,
because the Cowboys kept it close, and you could have
seen that happening, but a couple things bounce a different way,
the Eagles could have covered that eight and a half.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
So it's so hard. It's so hard to predict.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
Not only do I commend Dak Prescott and how he
handled the press conference after the game right and the situation,
but I also want to say he played a pretty
decent game and it was not on him.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
No, I agree with that, But this is Dak speaking
about the spinning incident.
Speaker 6 (11:09):
I probably spent a thousand times throughout the game, I mean,
especially game day, maybe even in general, and something I
I guess I'm not proud of. But in that case,
he was trolling. I guess you could say, trying to
mess with Tyler Booker. I was just looking at him.
I was right here by the two linemen, and I
guess I needed to spit and I wouldn't gonna spind
on my liman, and I just spit ahead. But I
would say he was back there where Joelry was in
(11:31):
that sense, and he asked, or he goes, you're trying
to spin on me?
Speaker 3 (11:34):
And at that point, I mean, I.
Speaker 6 (11:35):
Felt like like like he was insulting me, like I don't.
I wouldn't spin on somebody. I'm damn sure not trying
to spit on you. They were about to play a game.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
I believe that. I believe Dak. Believe it or not,
I do believe Dak.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
I think he handled it with class afterwards speaking highly
of Jalen, because I would not speak as highly as
he did of Chanling if someone spin on me afterward.
But I do understand where Jalen could have misinterpreted the situation.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I do well.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
It doesn't justify it, but I get it. Let's hear
from the spitter himself, Chiling Card.
Speaker 7 (12:06):
I heard the rough talking and then I heard him
say this is a toss of offense or something like that,
and that's when I know.
Speaker 8 (12:13):
Did you have a conversation with Nick and Hill with
a d What kind of message did you ray?
Speaker 7 (12:17):
I know I didn't have a conversation yet. I know
going to have that conversation, they have to focus on
the game. Still, I don't want to be strapping them
from the game.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
You know, are you're worried about?
Speaker 3 (12:25):
He's just ending the people I get.
Speaker 7 (12:27):
You know that text what I call and buy a conversation?
Speaker 9 (12:30):
And what had it?
Speaker 10 (12:31):
Now?
Speaker 7 (12:32):
You know, I walked off the field calmly.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
I was not mad.
Speaker 9 (12:35):
That's pretty much.
Speaker 7 (12:36):
I couldn't really do nothing else.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
You know.
Speaker 7 (12:37):
The rough decision is the rough decision on the situation
when things started to come out and you start seeing
things that if you can go off that. But I
don't got nothing to say about it.
Speaker 11 (12:45):
You know.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Now, Rich and I have a rule we never defend
people for things that we would never do. I would
never spit on somebody. However, emotions are high. Yeah right,
it's your first game of the season. You're probably getting
your teammates all pumped up up, nationally televised game. You
think someone's spitting at you. Let's say someone spit on you, Rich,
(13:07):
does that change how you feel about it? I still
don't think I would spit back. Really if maybe i'd
push him, punch him do so, I don't think I would.
I'm so yeah, I'm not certain I wouldn't if someone
did it to me first. I'm not certain that I
wouldn't if someone or if I thought someone did it
(13:27):
to me first. If I'm channeling Carter in that scenario,
I'm getting a fifteen yard penalty but not getting kicked
out of the game, because if I thought someone spit
at me, I'd probably yeah, well that's I probably would have.
You know, you might have been aggressive and got like
an unsportsman like penalty. But if it was a selfish move,
there's no question about that. And he put his team
in jeopardy and there's no forgiving that moment. I'm just
(13:48):
saying that we didn't get the full story. Yeah, we
didn't get the full story until at the end, and yeah,
it's gross. Nothing it's the biggest deal in the world.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Either though.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
I think we can move on, and I think I
think you'll forget about it rather quickly. But Luki gate
was interesting last night because you're like.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
What already? Huh, Yeah, what's up? Dan Byer.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
I know you think that we're gonna move on, but
I'm not gonna let you. Yeah, no, that's fine, because
do you think that last year was the anomaly with
Philadelphia where everybody was on the same page and they
went together as a team, or do you think it's
the opposite.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
It was only a year.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
It was months before that that they were calling for
Nick Sirianni's job. The team was in disarray, things were
not good, And then you're right, last year it seemed
like everything lined up.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Yes, And I would tend to think that last year
was the anomaly.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yes, I think last night they were, as I was
going to bring up next, they were a couple ceed
lamb plays away from letting that game slip away at
home Week one.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Sure, and there's I think a legitimate reason why a
team would win a Super Bowl and maybe not have
that same desire. Maybe the team goal has now been met,
so there may be individual goals that maybe like these
are all things that come into a team when you
end up winning a Super Bowl, let alone a team
that has been known to have individuals and people kind
(15:10):
of doing their own thing. And that's that's what stood
out to me about last night was we're five seconds
into a title defense and Jalen Carter is doing his
own thing, and so that is that's why I know
we're going to move on from it. But if the
Eagles don't have the season that we think they should
be having where people are putting them back into the
super Bowl, maybe going back to back. I think that
(15:31):
this is a point where we can look back to
be like, Okay, maybe last year really was the one
off and this is a team that has just got
too many big personalities to it.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Yeah, it's not a team first move, There's no question
right that, And that is letting your emotions get to you.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Did any of us pick the Eagles yesterday to go
to the Super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (15:53):
I don't think so.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Oh to go?
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Yeah, to even go?
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I think you did?
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I did? Did you? Okay? So one of us, yeah,
I think it.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
I think the play last night immediately took the wind
out of their sales. This is supposed to be a coronation.
A first quarter of the Cowboys are coming to the
town again, the Micah Parsons less Cowboys. You're the champs,
You're ready to dominate them, and all of a sudden,
your best defensive player gets kicked out. I thought that
that and then the Cowboys go down and score on
the first drive. I thought it immediately took the wind
(16:20):
out of their sales.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
I think it, well, listen, a win's a win, and
you move on and you look forward to the next week.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
But that wasn't a wow. Eagles look great on their
you know.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
No, they're missing a couple of pieces on defense, and
that defense looks stout last season.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Either the Cowboys are a little better than we thought,
or the Eagles just slip by because they have better
personnel at the end of the day, and the Cowboys
aren't great, but you expose that the Eagles aren't as
good as we think either. I feel that Ceedee Lamb
last night, and you don't want to get down on
one guy.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Guy caught for over one hundred yards. He's a star player, right.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
I'm sure he knows that last drive, that first one,
the first big mess over the middle, that's an obvious drop.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
But even the other one.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
When you get paid thirty to forty million dollars in
you're a top five guy, and that that you are
an elite wide receiver. You're Ceee Lamb, you're a baller.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
It was tough.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
I feel like you make that catch in that moment.
I know Chris Collins Earth was sort of like, well
that's a catch. I mean, you can't really count that
as a drop.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
I think I did. I counted that as a driver.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
It was catchable, man, And he's a superstar. And you
got to give credit to Dak too for putting it.
It seemed like he was aggravating. That was a perfect
placement for that. It seemed like he was as aggravated
with that one. His hands went to his helmet. He
was not happy. And and that's how close the Cowboys won.
If they would have cut the first one, they would
have won that game.
Speaker 5 (17:47):
They just had it on the NFL networked thirty seconds
ago because they're replaying the game as he started there, Rickochet.
That was almost an interception as well, that first one.
It could have been a crucial turnover, could have been
even worse.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
And that's a moment where again no one's saying Dak
looked bad, but that's a moment where Dak put a
ball on the money. When you watch that slow motion replay,
how he hit ceedee lamb on that slant and put
the ball in a place where he could only get it. Yeah,
and had a tough loss for him. That for Dak, that
was like, dude, I put the ball on the money.
He did everything, and then on then on fourth and short,
(18:20):
I gave you a little uh, a little out rout.
You know, do you give Dak a little grace moving forward,
because like he should have had that one, they would
have beat the defending champs in the first game of
the season. He did everything he could as a huge
you know, everyone loves to take a dump on the
Cowboys and on Dak Prescott. I think he gotta, yeah,
give him a little little breathing room moving forward because
(18:41):
he did. There's no guarantee it's a touchdown, but you assume, like, oh,
maybe that's what met him. They get in the end
zone and for all you know, the Eagles then get
the ball back with a minute.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Kick, a field goal tie it.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Who knows how it turns out, but ceedee Lamb took
the took the wind out of the sales of everyone
hoping that the NFL would have a nail bier Week
one opening that it was a great game.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
It was close.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
It was not a blow at twenty four twenty. But
I'm saying you, if they had caught one of those passes.
If CD Lamb pulls down one of those, that's again
another legendary Week one Game one, Like damn, the NFL
is bringing it.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
As Colin Coward called them, CD lame lame year. He
came yesterday.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Man, your SuperStar's got to step up because that could
have been a big moment for the team, a big momentum.
I don't want to say shift. It's the first game,
but great momentum is moving forward. But if you could
steal Game one in Philadelphia and Cowboys like you lose
Michael Parsons, the morale is down.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Everyone's sort of laughing at you now.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Like, man, Jerry Jones, the documentaries out, we're getting a
glimpse into the heritage of him.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Owning the team. The Cowboys could have come away last
night looking awesome.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
And I'll say that's not that social media is a
fair place, because it never is. But the shots that
they were taking on Jerry, if boy, this this Cowboys
team could use a pass rusher. Yeah, totally, like they
well they don't have first round picks, can't play in
a game right now, Like that's that's of course they're
going to miss him. We knew that One of the
reasons why we actually supported Jerry was we didn't feel
(20:11):
the team was good enough to pay Micah Parsons.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Yet everybody was grabbing that low hanging fruit.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Oh yeah, I saw, I saw, I saw Nick Wright
was he facetimed Dan Patrick and he was like saying, man,
it looks like this team's just a pass thrusher short.
That was one of the hey oh, that was one
of the social media punchlines last night, Like, wow, if
they only had a pass rusher.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
I think the Cowboys too, dB went away from the
run too soon, only down by four. I felt like
they should have kept trying to pound the rock a
little bit more. They started just going pass happy in
the fourth quarter.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
Yeah, and then I don't know if it's because of
the fumble with Miles Sanders and that point, or or
or what Javonte Williams had the two touchdowns, But I'm
not sure and how much Juicy's gonna have for the
entire season. But it is a team, especially with the
Eagles as well, you'd want to you'd want to keep
your offense on the field and run the football.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
So I don't think Danny's wrong.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
So you had Lugi gate, you had some drop passes,
you had some funny content, you had a delay, you
had lots going on last night in East Coast, must
have really hated that. Yeah, they stayed up late watching.
Now I always laugh at that because that was us
most of our lives. Then you moved to the West
Coast and you're like, ahh, so those are our takeaways?
(21:23):
What are yours? Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
And remember just a reminder, come Monday, we do something
called Things That Made You go hmm, where we go
over all of our observations from every game. So looking
forward to that. But speaking of football, we're also going
to talk some quarterbacks and people's bad takes on quarterbacks
(21:44):
and should there be repercussions, accountability, maybe even punishment for
bad takes, especially when you're talking about quarterback. That bad
take is that bad? I think there should be some light,
funny punishment. And we'll get to that. And of course
I got some parlays, I got some picks I want
to make. We got some good stuff coming up. It's
a Friday, we have a game tonight. That's another thing.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Better believe it.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Mahomes Kelsey action and I don't think it's going to
happen today, but I'd imagine we're days away from finding
out our Super Bowl halftime show. How quickly, yes, do
people post on social media when something crazy happens. The
minute that's why you hop on. But it's so funny
because it's like the minute the Jaalen Carter what spit happens,
(22:35):
there's people rushing to their MacBook and they're making photoshops
of Hawk to a girl and spitting and this it's
amazing how people are so motivated to be the first
with the meme first of the picture. If everyone had
that work ethic across the board, world would be a
different place. But there's a lot of funny content that
(22:55):
comes out of these big games.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
And last night was as big as it gets.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
And now you look at tonight you got Chiefs, Chargers,
and Dan Bayer pointed out during the break the end
zones look great. They did a Super Bowl style tonight
where well, again in Brazil, each team gets an end
zone and they got that sweet powder blue end zone
for the Chargers, and I guess the Chiefs go with
that yellow with the red. Maybe it dates back to
(23:19):
their early Super Bowl appearance appearances, but you'll see that
tonight as we hit our second game. Let's take a
few quick phone calls and then we're going to talk about
bad takes in sports. You know, we're all guilty of them,
but some people like really lean into them and there's
no repercussions or accountability.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
We'll talk about it.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
And as we take these calls, could I let it
be known that I, yes, I am mildly distracted by
the reports of Christian McCaffrey as a Niners fan, Like
everything was a okay on Wednesday, then Thursday you see
a okay, okay, and then Thursday he was a mild participant,
and now today he didn't do much at all and
(23:59):
listed his question according to Adam Schefter, and it's like questionable, Yeah,
how does that happen? Let's talk about DAK with Mike
and Seattle. What's up, Mike, Mike Ay, Hey, Mike, Hey, Hey,
what's up?
Speaker 3 (24:13):
Bud?
Speaker 9 (24:13):
Hey A longtime listener, first time caller. All and you
guys are great, appreciate what's up?
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (24:20):
Oh, I like your guys take on DAK And you know,
I feel like he gets a lot of flack obviously
as a qb uh. But clearly, it's a team a
team game. At the end of the day, he kind
of did everything to win. But you know, I think
they play that. Nobody's talking about it.
Speaker 8 (24:33):
We're not really talking about that much is how he
saved that fumble recovery by laying out. You know, for
a guy who who's been out with season ending injuries
a couple of times in the last couple of years,
he's still putting it all on the line, you know.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
All right, you could say he had a great game.
You know what he did.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
He baited Carter and got him kicked out. I think
he baited him and and Carter took the bait like
a dumbass. I think he made a few great plays. Unfortunately,
Ceedee Lamb wasn't on the receiving end of him, and
he had a nice phone with recovery, and he handled
the press well. He had a good night. He really
did as good a night as he could have had
(25:08):
for a loss when he could have very well had
to win. They were, oh, we would have been we
would have been praising how the Cowboys responded to the
Michael Parsons thing. It would be it would have been
a different narrative now We're going to take the rest
of your phone calls eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox so Hank tight and at Covin and Rich on
social media.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
But we got to go to the man, damn man
with the plan.
Speaker 11 (25:31):
Dan.
Speaker 5 (25:33):
So here's the situation with Christian McCaffrey of the San
Francisco forty nine.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
Let's let's give me the give me the goods.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
You laid it out perfectly.
Speaker 5 (25:41):
Practice Wednesday, calf injury pops up yesterday, doesn't practice today,
accept does some work on the side with the team.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan called him officially questionable after the
DMP Today, McCaffrey within the last fifteen minutes spoke with
reporters says that he feels great and plans to play
against the Seahawks on Sunday. That was the word from
(26:04):
the running back. But again, he's probably not going to
have final say on whether he goes or not. But
that's the latest. He says, he feels great, plans to play.
Kyle Shanahan saying that he's questioned.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
That's weird.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Until they labeled the questionable on the injury report, I
felt like it was going to be a probable based
on a lot of forty nine ers. Things I follow
were like, yeah, the forty nine ers are just being cautious.
It's gonna be fine. But the questionable was, like, what
you gotta be on the same page with that stuff
because it's a big deal. Money's online, Rich's hard is
on the line, season start is on the line.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
This happened recently with Aaron Boone and.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
Aaron Boone and Aaron Judge where they're like, yeah, Judge,
how's the elbow. He's like, feels great. They're like, well,
Boone says otherwise.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Yeah, he said, yeah, you saw that.
Speaker 5 (26:51):
So gee so And I'll add this, do you think
that last year scenario plays into this where we're very
skeptical and Christian McCaffery really wants to be out there,
but it's a long season. Niners went to Seattle won
their last year without Christian McCaffrey, So like those things,
Christian McCaffrey's questionable.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
That's what we'll say.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
And if you want more, Aaron Boone alerts, ask Covino,
he's got Booney alerts on the pot. Well, that was
a big story because they weren't on the same page.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
I got a Booner listening to him Packers list Michael
Parsons is questionable to face the Lions coming up on Sunday.
Again limited in practice today.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
Time for the Tire IRAQ Play of the Day. Fireworks
in Philly even before the first snap.
Speaker 12 (27:36):
This game couldn't have started worse unsportsmanlike conduct or the Eagles.
Unsportsmanlike conduct of the Eagles, in particular on Jalen Harder
and even worse. Harter, one of the Eagles Bolts packed
full players, was ejected from the game on the very
first before the very first play from the Spurduck.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
Now again, if you just joined us, I said, I understood,
but that doesn't mean I'm making excuses for this guy.
It's a pathetic move. That's Jalen Carter ejected and that's
our Fox Sports Radio tire Rack play of the Day.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Berl Reef, he's gotta stuffed up balls. I was saying,
me and me and Ryan Berschinger, who's in the back.
We have a joke we always do Meryl rec impression.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Well, somebody give the guys an old school handkerchief that's
all ninety four or wip. Now we want to go
to your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox. A lot of people chiming in about the
game last night. It's just great to have football back.
So pumped about the weekend. So before we get into
your solar power parlay and all that fun stuff, which
want to take these calls? Yeah, let's got a Marshall
(28:42):
in the burg. What's up, Pittsburgh?
Speaker 11 (28:45):
Hey, how you doing?
Speaker 2 (28:45):
What's up, buddy?
Speaker 10 (28:47):
So I'm a Steelers fan, so nobody has more disdain
for the Cowboys than I do. And I'm and I'm
a Georgia Bulldog graduate, so nobody likes bulldig players more
than I do. There's no way in the world that
Jane and Carter could have perceived that Dak Carter that
Dak Prescott was spitting at him.
Speaker 13 (29:05):
It just wasn't that way.
Speaker 9 (29:06):
He wasn't.
Speaker 13 (29:07):
He may have said something to him, and I don't doubt.
Speaker 10 (29:09):
That, but there's no way he could have perceived that
Dak was.
Speaker 13 (29:12):
Spitting at him. It was just an uncouth thing to do,
and you.
Speaker 10 (29:16):
Can understand it. I don't, uh, and I'm glad he
got suspended.
Speaker 6 (29:20):
Me.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
Did you see the footage?
Speaker 1 (29:21):
I mean, I think it's vile and I think he's
wrong and it's horrible to do, and it's selfish and
all that, But how do you not see that Dak
was spitting in his direction and antagonizing him. I'm not
saying that Dak did anything wrong. I'm not if anything.
Dak did everything right. He pissed that guy off and
got him kicked down, So I don't know. The footage
(29:41):
is pretty clear to me that it's in his direction.
I think that what he was doing, it's just like
it's a it's a stretch Zach and Arizona.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
I don't see it.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
Is that what was a stressed at all? I do.
I'm not. Hold on, I'm not saying that the same
thing you and I. What Carter did was atrocious. You
and I are about six three. For me, I looked
at you and I didn't my towards my It's still disrespectful.
If I it was like a dribble, spit out of
his mouth, and then you walk up to me and
spin on my chest.
Speaker 14 (30:09):
I watched it.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Hold on, no, no, no, no, you don't conversation. I never
said that changing the conversation. I never said what Dak
did was at the same level as what Carter.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Did at all.
Speaker 1 (30:24):
But you don't see how dak baited him into that.
You don't see how that's possible. It's given you like
doing of these to.
Speaker 15 (30:31):
Someone and they they're not expecting it, and then they
freak out. It's like, that's what it is. It was
it Romeo and Juliet. It's like your thumb, your your tooth,
your thumb at me, sir, whatever it is.
Speaker 2 (30:39):
What Carter did was way worse. There's okay, right, I
haven't sorry, I haven't looked at Shakespeare in a once.
You're such a thespian. All right, Let's go to Zach
and Arizona.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Hey, Zach, what's going on?
Speaker 14 (30:50):
Boys?
Speaker 13 (30:51):
Y'all doing good man with your thoughts? And I couldn't
help but ask myself the question of if if Cam
being a game manager? Right, because after looking at the
throwing charten where he was completing his passes, I can't
help but think he was a game manager. Not saying
that's a bad game, but he may be the most
ultimate game manager we've ever seen, based on his talvin,
(31:12):
the skill set, But I don't think he's a dynamic
down the field thrower quarterback.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
I mean, agreed, he got that first down in the
fourth quarter on that final drive win needed. He scrambled,
used his legs. Great, great line still but Danny, you
hit us up with the There were memes going around
last night saying his passing chart. Yeah yeah, well get
this real people out there calling this man a top
five quarterback. Good night, and it's hurts nineteen for twenty
(31:38):
three one hundred and fifty two yards.
Speaker 2 (31:40):
He did rush for two toddies.
Speaker 4 (31:41):
But most of the passes were eight ten yards, one
one down the field like an intermediate throw.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
But other than that. But hey, he gets the job
done and he wins.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeh, dude, I'm more about the first game of this
I'm more about winning, man.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
I know that.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
You know, Mahomes is a great example of a guy
whose numbers are not close to what they were. Oh yeah,
a couple of years back, five years ago, Mahomes has
put up circus numbers.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
Now what does Mahomes do? Now? He just wins? You know,
what do you rather do?
Speaker 1 (32:09):
Did you rather have your quarterback throw for one point
eighty no turnovers and win? What do you want your
guy putting up four hundred yards but he's three touchdowns,
two interceptions. I just think winning takes precedence. Let's not
be wrapped up in fantasy numbers winning winning. He was
in the news today, by the way, whole other story dudes,
So trip, make it snappy trip in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Trip.
Speaker 16 (32:32):
Hey guys, real quick watching you. I was disappointed that
Rich is not wearing a mascot outfit today.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
I did this morning. I did this morning at my
kids school. Let me tell you, I'm so good at it.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
I oh, mascot, I thought you were wearing an ascot.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
My bad.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
I want to go.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
I want to do this in an NBA game and
going to trampoline and slam dunk I I Rich, if
you missed it, Rich was the mascot at his kids
school today, at my kid's school assembly, and uh yeah,
it was fun, dude. Those things are sign of circus PERFORMERSDNY.
It's one hundred degrees in LA. I'll be honest. Someone
else may have passed out in that thing, because I
almost did. I'm like, so yes, probably smells like Fredo's inside.
(33:11):
That sounds like ass. You know.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
I'll post a picture at Covin on a Rich I
bought that.
Speaker 16 (33:14):
Trip, Hey, thank you? And then uh, Carter can't do that.
He's a leader. He's not like Big Mike. If y'all
lost him, I don't know what he does are on
that place. And then the final thing was this, I
wish you guys were in the casino last night with me.
Everybody had the over forty one points at halftime and
the game went under. They were all screaming six.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Oh yeah, I bet that was That was even like
the Mytorrico Collins were ath assessment, like, yeah, this game
was popping.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Then all of a sudden, it was like the defense
three points in the second half total. It was just
the Eagles of one field goals at half time, wasn't it?
Speaker 7 (33:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Correct, Amunda.
Speaker 1 (33:47):
So hey, we got the first game in Chiefs Chargers
tonight and more feedback and phone calls. Next, we got
your solar power parlay, Rich cool and uh you know
what my mother interest tonight, Go Blue Jays, get at
it way in your Yanks.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
Our first solar power parlay of the year. I'm ready,
let's go.
Speaker 11 (34:11):
It's time to parlay into your weekend. Rich Davis loves
parlay making money, and he loves his new solar panels
Solar Boy draft my Solar Power parlay oh right, you're
making money money.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Hey, before we get into it, rich can you give
us an update on your solar panels. You know, I
mentioned it like one time two years ago when I
got make frank about it all the time and talk
to everybody who was willing to listen.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
It wasn't one time, more like one hundred times.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Yeah, maybe one time on the air, but we had
to hear about it every day. My electric bill went
way down. Guys, did it really what? It's zero? But
I had to pay for the solar panels?
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Are you still paying with my winnings from all these
great parlays? So I got one parlay that I love.
I don't like it, rich ESEs his solar panels. Just
I were up one little light in its front lawn,
you know, I was. My new thing is the solar
panel might be able to heat my pool?
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Oh really? How about That's pretty sweet?
Speaker 10 (35:12):
Right?
Speaker 2 (35:12):
So all right, let's do this one.
Speaker 1 (35:13):
Really, I'm confident in this one now that I know
that my boy, Christian McCaffrey's he's ready to play.
Speaker 16 (35:19):
He's a dad.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Now he's got to be like baby girl. Dad's got
to make that bacon.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
Olivia Culpo will be watching with the baby in arms right,
watching McCaffrey run for what one oh eight.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
You can watch McCaffrey, I'll be watching Olivia Copple.
Speaker 3 (35:32):
Okay, good.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Forty nine ers are at the Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Dan Byer will not agree. He is a Seahawks guy.
I don't expect him to. It's a divisional battle. Both
teams have WEAKSS schedules the NFC West, as they're all.
They play a lot of easy opponents this year. But
this is a game the Niners. If they win on
the road to start the season, it's a good omen.
It's a good Sun series. The first game. You really
want to push McCaffrey if he's If anyone thinks he's questionable,
(35:57):
wouldn't it be bestages Maybe rest the well.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
You acquired a pretty solid backup, which.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Is a listen if you start McCaffrey and the Niners
are up, I don't know, seventeen to seven something where
there's a little cushion, little breathing room. I don't think
it's crazy to limit McCaffrey. Okay, I BET's, but not
sitting them up just feels like a week ass start.
When you saw what it did to the Niners last year,
right from role it just all right. So Niners are
(36:24):
one and a half point favorites on the road, road dogs.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
I'm feeling it.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
I just think Seattle is a very tough place to play.
I just think the forty nine Ers are a better team,
and I think you win this game on the road
to prove a point that your window's not closed.
Speaker 2 (36:37):
It's not over.
Speaker 1 (36:38):
You still got Kittle, you still got Juwan Jennings and
Rock Purdy, and you still got Fred Warner, and you
still got some young talent. Niners minus one and a
half and you're gonna I don't know if you'll like
this one, because you might say, really, you're gonna believe
in this guy. I believe in Aaron Rodgers. I believe
in Aaron Rodgers, especially when he's playing the Jets.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Do you believe in a thing called love? No, no, no, no,
Rhythm of my hood?
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Do you believe in life after love? I believe in
all these things. You believe in miracles. I believe since
you came along, you sexy thing. I believe that the
Steelers will go to met Life and they'll win by
two and a half. They're two and a half point
favorites over the Jets in Jersey. Listen, I don't think
the Jets are awful, but I just think that this
(37:22):
is a game Aaron Rodgers wins. He has weapons. I
want to see my dude DK Metcalf go off. Well,
I don't think it's much of a rivalry other than
Aaron Rodgers played there and like it probably wants to
whoop their.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Ass, right, that's what makes it fun. Yeah, And I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
I just think I thought the point spread would be
like three and a half, maybe four or something. So
the fact that it's two two and a half, I
just like that. I think that's very nice for the Steelers.
So Steelers minus two and a half forty nine Ers
minus one and a half lock that in. That is
a parlay, my friends, that you gotta jump on if
(37:56):
you want to drop. I'm not telling you what to bet,
but that's what I'm doing, and I'll give you one
more great bet for now. I talked about this on
our bonus podcast over Promised. We're so used to Cincinnati
really starting out week. It's it's a trend and I
know it's almost like laughable at this point that what
has it been like three years in a row now
where Cincinnati takes a second to get goings.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Burrows, injuries, lack of preseason that sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
And everyone in this studio, I believe, except one of us,
may have picked the Cleveland Browns to be the worst
team in the NFL. Cor By that the damn bias
of the Saints, but I'm sure Cleveland wasn't far down
on his list. The Browns are not good and a
lot of people, including myself, think Burrow could be an
MVP candidate this year. The games in Cleveland not the
(38:41):
most crazy home field advantage Cincinnati by five and a half.
I think Cincinnati wins by six or more. I think
Cincinnati wins by double digit. So I just love that,
straight up bet. I like Cincinnati given the points. Again,
when you look at what Vegas is doing week one,
if you told me that was seven and a half
or eight and a half, then I would have said
(39:01):
maybe a backdoor cover. But five and a half, I
think that's a no brainer. I love that pound Cincinnati heart.
That's what she said. So Cincinnati, straight bet you're parlay Niners, Steelers,
lock it in there. You go want me to throw
my wanted to give everyone. Since it's week one, should
I give you one my my teaser bet that I
(39:23):
went over on over promised as well. No, let him
watch over promised. If you want to hear the greatest
teas of all time? Over promised episode one oh seven,
it's on our new YouTube page, Copino and Rich FSR.
Speaker 2 (39:37):
That's like a teas tease.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
Man, it was the greatest teas I had ever heard
ever of all time, The greatest teaz.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
All that's on our show, over promised. You guys could
check it out later. Don't miss out now you heard
Rich's Solar Power parlay.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
By the way, great first season.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
I feel good about him in Peasta first Solar power
p are they of the season? I do want anyone
in the room to tell me if they feel like
part of that stinks? Is there is there a part
of Is there part of that? Sam Danny g that
you're like, Oh.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
I don't like that.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
I know Dan Myers down played the storyline of Justin
Fields and Aaron Rodgers a little bit. I like that storyline,
I think Andres wants to come in there and show
him that he still got the juice.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
I'm nervous for you and your forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
Rich, That's that's the most homer of my picks. I agree,
that's that's the one where you're like, well in Seattle,
that's that's a tough game. I could see where you'd say, Rich,
you're being a little bit of a homer there.
Speaker 5 (40:36):
I think that we could pick apart anybody's picks. So
in saying that, I do question Cincinnati's offensive line, and
I feel that the Browns defensive line is a little
better than with Miles Garrett. Obviously, you know I drafted
Mason Graham with a first round pick, but so I
think that that could be a spot as well. Plus
I do like Joe Flacco throwing the football, so I
think they'll be able to score some points whether he has.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
A high scoring affair. That stays a little closer than
you might think.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
Well, we could do this with every single pick, Like
you could pick the Browns.
Speaker 5 (41:02):
We would have said Joe Burrow's got all these weapons,
so so yes, ride with him.
Speaker 2 (41:06):
I see.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
I just like, is there any accountability if you're wrong
about it on Monday? Because that's what we're talking about now.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yeah, you know, but I'm wrong.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
I'm the first to admit it because the reality is
I keep you in the nards live on the air
for every time you're wrong. That's good, that's good radio, right, Danny,
get those get those YouTube numbers up.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
The amount of kicks which would not be able to
have a third child.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
I'd be helping him out.
Speaker 1 (41:31):
I don't think you could handle a third That's a
way to get a vasectomy. So the reason I say
that is because we've seen some weak ass takes from
I don't know this Ryan Clark fella. And I say
that because I never met him and we worked at
ESPN yeh, and I'm a fan.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
I watch all the time.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
He seems really mad about something, always mad. It's sports,
it's fun. And I'm not talking like steven A Smith
mad where you're just animated and you know, blasphemous.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
Upset.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
I like Mad Dog Russo who it's yeah, it's like
it's almost stick. It's almost stick, and I know it's passion.
And I get all that. Ryan Click seems mad about stuff.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
It's football.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
I get the feeling he doesn't like Justin Herbert based
on some of the things I heard. Now to be
to be honest, when Steven A or Mad Dog Russo
or Colin or some of the some of the pros
get mad or go off. I feel like it's they're
they're passionate broadcasters. When Ryan Clark is mad, I feel like,
right before the camera went on, someone's like, yo, later today,
(42:33):
you've got to go to the DMV and you got
a flat tire and you got that like like someone
who's dumped bad news. I got sixteen thousand dollars in
condition condition fees. I ain't that mad, right, but maybe
he knows things from a personal level. Again, what do
I know about his true feelings. I don't know, so
let's be fair with that. However, he says some things.
(42:56):
It's like, man, dude, what was the latest that he
said that that that got discovered should go? And he said,
who wasn't in a generational quarterback? Oh, he says, And
that's the story. Like that's calling for his head and
people are saying, you know, he needs to be fired.
I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying, well, there
should be accountability, not just for him, for guys like us,
for everybody. But we don't say things like that, right,
(43:19):
we don't claim that Brady Breeze and Manning aren't generational
talents and that.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Was the he's Peyton Manning, by the way, Oh yeah,
Peyton Manning.
Speaker 1 (43:32):
That was the statement today that got social media buzz
and like, yo, come on now, you can have your
opinions and feelings, but be real about it. But Manning
aren't generational talents? Are we falling into the hall? Like
he says it, knowing will react and we're the fools.
It's like our own It's like one of our best
(43:52):
buds here at Fox Sports Radio. There are times Rob
Parker says something like you can't believe that?
Speaker 4 (43:58):
Is it just broadcasting? Scary part is Parker believes mostly
by Rob.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
Will says something, I'm like Robie. Rob's also says it.
Speaker 1 (44:07):
He's very passionate, but he also says it with in
a playful smile. Man, you know, Rob's a great journalist.
Rob's background is he's a great journalist. So part of
me sometimes like, is he doing that because he's a
great journalist? And I wonder is Ryan Clark meanness?
Speaker 5 (44:23):
I felt he was over compensating because people felt he
was being too hard on Arch. So let's bring in
the biggest names and say that they're also susceptible to
the same criticism. But guys, I don't remember a time
in the four years that Peyton Manning was at the
Tennessee because I think that was another name that he
mentioned that we didn't think that he was a generational
(44:45):
talent and in fact, would have been the first overall
pick the year prior, but he decided to stay in school.
So then he was the first overall pick the next year.
And I'll even say this because I said this on
Labor Day when we were in when Moncy and I
weren't for you guys, because was this criticism. It was
after that game. Arch would have been the first overall
pick in last year's draft if he would have been
(45:06):
in the draft. So like, you can pick up a
part and do whatever, but the fact that teams would
want him or want that sort of player is something
that you cannot argue.
Speaker 2 (45:15):
So dB pointed it out.
Speaker 1 (45:17):
But again, this was a conversation that was based on
do you believe Arch Manning is a generational QB. I
mean that's still to be determined, right, So he went
off to say, like, yo, I don't even think Tom Brady,
Drew Brees, and Peyton Manning were generational talents and you know,
should there be accountability for things like that?
Speaker 2 (45:39):
I think there should be.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
I don't think that again because the other storyline based
on that is fans are begging he ESPN to fire him. Now,
I think that's a little bit. I don't want anyone
losing their job, but let's make it here. That's not
what we're saying at all. We're saying that even we
should have a sense of accountability. Everybody should have some
sort of sense of account ability when they say crazy things.
(46:01):
I think it humanizes you, and I think it makes you.
You know, it shows that you're a real person that
takes chances and you make mistakes. Like I just think
there should be more people that come back and say, man,
was I wrong about that. I think so many people
make their hot takes and then they just move along,
and I think it's funny going back. Like I love
(46:21):
those Max Kellerman clips where he says Tom Brady's done
like ten years in a row.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
I love when what did.
Speaker 1 (46:27):
Colin say on this network that lebron can move aside
because Ben Simmons is here? Yeah, Like, and you know,
I wasn't like skip baylist or someone said like Johnny
Manziel is going to be more famous in lebron in
the state, in the state of Ohio. Well, it poses
a question, do you have to take accountability when the
Internet is there to remind you of everything you ever said.
(46:47):
I'll be the first person to say on Draft night,
a handful of years ago, I was posting videos on
my Instagram story.
Speaker 2 (46:54):
Trey Lance, Baby, Trey Lance, go niners. This is the guy.
He's the guy make.
Speaker 1 (47:00):
Fun of myself because it's funny to me. I swung
and missed, I whiffed. But that we all foll part.
It's sports. It's supposed to be fun, and yeah, there's
high stakes. But that's why I don't understand, Like, why
why does everybody seem so mad when Kevino's a big
fight fan. Don't get that Kavino's a big fight fan.
There was a five year period where Cavino would always
(47:22):
pick against Mayweather, assuming someone would finally catch him, and
every time I'm like, dude, again.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
You're wrong.
Speaker 1 (47:28):
He's fighting Mike Tyson next, So I'm picking Tyson. By
the way, that's a real but I'm not sure if
it's real. Story that's going on as we speak. Did
Dwison and Mayweather have signed a deal for an exhibition.
I don't know what the steaks are yet, but that
is what's going on. Not to be all over the place,
but to see the other update in the fight world
with stuff like that. No what Jake Paul Tank Davis
(47:52):
has not gotten the thumbs up from the Boxing Commission
because well, yeah, as we said when it happened, there's
no way they're gonna sank this because of the weight difference,
the experience or whatever, the whatever way whatever they're compiling
it is nothing to prove. So they're saying it won't
be like a legitimate fight. I'm not sure if that
changes the date and time and all that, but they're
(48:13):
saying there's been no approval yet by anyone for this
Tank Jake Twalify. So anyway, here's the story. Ryan Clark,
dude is mad for some reason. He just seems mad
to me, and that's just my observation. I don't know
that to be true. Maybe just that's his demeanor and
he's just really passionate mad, but he seems mad. And
you know what, the fans are even more mad based
(48:36):
on what he said. So everybody's mad about it and
it's football. We should be pumped about it?
Speaker 10 (48:41):
Mad?
Speaker 3 (48:41):
Hell?
Speaker 1 (48:42):
Should we be excited? I had Buffalo Wallowings today. I'm pumped.
We got some football to watch tonight.
Speaker 2 (48:47):
I'm excited.
Speaker 14 (48:48):
Now.
Speaker 2 (48:48):
Do I get mad on this show?
Speaker 3 (48:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (48:50):
But you know who makes me mad? This guy would
his hat on Rich? He makes me mad. But I'm
not like mad about the game and mad about players
and read it. They get or don't get mad about that.
We can talk about it. Get a haircut today. My
hair's a little bit excited.
Speaker 13 (49:07):
I'm excited.
Speaker 2 (49:10):
Rich's zany behavior makes me mad.
Speaker 1 (49:12):
Sometimes I'm talking football doesn't make me mad, but or
maybe I'm just not as passionate. The point is, should
we be accountable? Should we be accountable? Your thoughts? At
eighty seven seven ninety nine on Fox. So we're gonna
play a game coming up next and this is going
to test how deep by the way our NFL rock
Before we move on? What should the punishment be for
(49:33):
the weakest takes ever? Should I'd be almost like wearing
gun's cap like old school. Put you go in the corner, Yeah,
walk down the hallway.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
Shame, shame, shame.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
We should have to you would have to You should
have to walk down the hallway naked as everyone else
else sh ringing a bell.
Speaker 4 (49:53):
You should have to wear that mascot costume you were
in this morning Game.
Speaker 1 (49:56):
Of Throne style to be something like because think about it.
If Rich came in one day and he said, I don't.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
Care what anybody thinks.
Speaker 1 (50:06):
Brady Breathe and Peyton Manning are not generational talents, there's
no way that you guys would let him get away
with it. How do people get away with saying that
on TV?
Speaker 3 (50:16):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (50:16):
I I think it's I think it's funny that they
just move on from these takes.
Speaker 2 (50:22):
Here's my thoughts. So next I want to play a game.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
We're gonna play NFL player or Chipotle workers, and how
see how well you know your deep rosters in the NFL.
As we get ready, let's say hi to Boise Bob.
Speaker 2 (50:35):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (50:36):
Man?
Speaker 14 (50:37):
What's up? Gentlemen? Happy? Thank god? The NFL is back Friday?
Speaker 3 (50:40):
Right on?
Speaker 4 (50:41):
Man?
Speaker 2 (50:41):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (50:42):
So where I give you my worst take ever?
Speaker 14 (50:45):
And Rich you're gonna laugh at it. I got a
punishment for you guys, for the loser. Yeah, whoever loses,
Hide the face Live on air, winner gets to pick
the type of pies, make it short of it, stick
it on.
Speaker 1 (50:56):
All the social You know we used to do that,
remember pie slap in the face or pie disgrace. Yeah,
we used to have slap Maybe we would have slap
bets and pie bets.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
Just go.
Speaker 1 (51:06):
You could find someone on YouTube if you're that more. Well, So,
what's your what's your weekess?
Speaker 2 (51:09):
Takes?
Speaker 14 (51:11):
Oh, worst take ever? The worst actually left my mouth
out loud where people could hear. Michael Crabtree has the
potential to be the next Cherry Right, it's a good one.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
At the time. I don't think that was a bad.
Speaker 1 (51:23):
Take, but it just didn't work out. Flash he did
Brandon and Florida real quick.
Speaker 9 (51:30):
Hey guys, how's it going.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
What's up man?
Speaker 9 (51:33):
Happy Friday?
Speaker 17 (51:33):
So my worst take is I never bet on my team.
It was a Super Bowl forty eight. I'm a big
Broncos fan. I bet a guy five hundred bucks. I
was so confident they were gonna win. And this will
put him smile on Damn Bier's face. But I'm sure
I'll never forget the score forty three to eight.
Speaker 2 (51:48):
Forty three to eight.
Speaker 5 (51:49):
Yeah, so many people were picking the Broncos, and I'm
just like, all right, we'll see, okay, we'll see.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1 (51:55):
Not Rich likes to bring up the fact that I
put like a thousand dollars on Ricky Hatton to be
manny pa Pokeon knocked them out in the second round.
You know, I was pretty confident at the time. We
all have our moments, joke. But it's sports. It's fun, relaxed,
but there should be accountability. It's a game that we've
played before with w NBA, but NFL has begun, so
(52:18):
it's Chipotle worker or NFL player.
Speaker 4 (52:21):
Yeah, Happy Friday. We switch it up when the NFL
season begins. So gonna find out how much you guys,
how deep your knowledge is on NFL rosters. And of
course we give props to the Chipotle workforce.
Speaker 3 (52:32):
All right.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
All you gotta do is not come in last place
and you will get an IOU for a CNR nerve football.

gonna say Chipotle.
Speaker 10 (56:19):
This is a trick.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
Jayden Sultch is a service manager in Illinois.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
I like that, reasoning megas slaying megas really slaying.
Speaker 3 (56:29):

and Vali and the.

title and the number one ranking in the world. After
a straight set win over Novak. Joke it six four seven,
six six two.

All right, it's time we do it every Friday. Get
into the weekend with some hobnobbin.
Speaker 2 (59:09):
Live in for the weekend.
Speaker 11 (59:12):
You're winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing,
you ever done anything dangerous?
Speaker 2 (59:16):
You ever dance with the devil in the pale line?
Speaker 11 (59:19):
Friday brings us weekend hob.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Nobby All right, So you got a UFC fight night, Manyana,
Imma Bob versus Burrallo? Is that hey see his name?
Probably not, but forgive me there and St. Dennis versus Roofie.
So you got some good UFC Manyana if you want
to check that out. In the world of documentaries or
(59:46):
as I like to call it documentaries. No, it's all
the buzz this week. You heard us talking about it.
If you haven't made time, you have to watch Unknown Number.
If anything, it'll make you feel like the greatest.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
Parent of all time. Unknown Number the.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
High school catfish story about the worst mom that ever was.
Put it that way. Yeah, no debating that. No, that's
on Netflix. So definitely check it out and report back
to us. It's gonna make you want to vomit. Unknown
Number on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Now. It's also a big weekend of baseball. Of course
we talked about Trent Grisham.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
I'll be watching Yankees Blue Jays today and throughout the weekend.
It's a big series. Remember, the next few series for
the Yankees are key not only to their season, but
to our bet. Rich and I have a thousand dollars
bet would be looking at the Yankees and the Mets mess.
Nimo just had a home run, rob but it was
a sac fly two. Nothing hurts, but old man, what
a play. Now we got some great football this weekend,
(01:00:43):
and man, I'm trying to pick one game that is
a must watch. I don't want to take anyone else's answer,
but it's got to be Ravens Bills. Right, Ravens at
Bills is the game, so tune into that, and of
course our bonus pod, over Promised episode one oh seven.
It now streams on our new YouTube page, which is
Covino and Rich FSR. On YouTube Covino and r j FSR,
(01:01:07):
we talk about players, teams, shows, styles, anything that might
be ass a new segment called they might be based
up Arch Manning and Bill Belichick.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
This past week.
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
We also talk about Red Zone, which I'll be watching
this weekend, but it might be asked because that's commercials now.
So we talk about red Zone. Your thoughts on that?
Are we over hyping the impact commercials will have? And
we talk Rich's picks his teaser pick on over promised
episode one oh seven. Check it out right here on
our YouTube page. So, NFL, you mentioned Ravens Bills. Two
(01:01:41):
other games that I think are going to get a
lot of a lot of love. It'll be your primetime
late game, Lions of Packers. That's that to me is
a telling game. Will it be close Sammy Sweetheart? Big Apple?
Speaker 10 (01:01:54):
Sam?
Speaker 1 (01:01:54):
Maybe your packers deliver lines lines looking to do and
ate that division. And I think the early game that
I'm interested in just because I think it's it's fun
Steelers Jets, Like you said, Aaron Rodgers on his third
team now Fields and justin Fields is is he a
guy with talent that we overlooked the Chicago Stings right
(01:02:15):
going against their former teams.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
I mean, it's a fun storyline.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
So I'm sort of down with Steelers Jets in that
early game. And you're right, a lot of great documentaries.
I'm still wrapping up that Jerry Jones Cowboys one, and
I think it's a great little taste as you get
into the football season. And there's another. There's another show.
It's called Love con Revenge. Have you seen this one?
Romantic scams and people try to recover their lives after
(01:02:42):
the Tinder swindler, So it's like a dating documentary. So
I don't know, I may watch something stupid like that.
What do you got, Danny?
Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
If you're a parent?
Speaker 4 (01:02:52):
The live action version of Leelo and Stitch is now
available on Disney Plus and College Football Week two Must
watch games eleven Illinois at Duke Iowa at number sixteen
Iowa State.
Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
Someone in here is excited about that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:05):
Syhawkey Oklahoma State at number six Oregon, Kansas at Missouri
and number fifteen Michigan at number eighteen Oklahoma, and then
of course for me Sunday at early game Raiders at Patriots,
excited to see what Geno Smith, African chen Z Thornton
and that offense can do. And then hopefully there's not
too many holes on that Raiders defense.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Is the rate is.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
Also, if you want to go to the movie theater
is Jahs Film theaters. Hamilton is in theaters. Oh that's right.
If you're a theater guy or Gal Hamilton, you get
to see that on the big screen.
Speaker 2 (01:03:40):
But sorry, go ahead.
Speaker 18 (01:03:41):
Oh no.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
I was gonna say, if you like horror movies, I
like dumb horror movies. You know what's on HBO Max
right now. The latest Final Destination that was just in theaters.
