(00:22):
I got like mixed emotions across the board when it
comes to sports. You've got me feeling mixed emotions. I
kind of coming too work today and I'm all excited.
I packed myself a little launch. I'll sandwich a little
bag of chips. My wife has a few blind spots.
My wife is fantastic her choice of husbands. I couldn't
ask for more with my wife. She really is like,
but you're about to an incredible mom My wife is
(00:45):
sure you want to pick this battle. They always say,
choose your battles wisely, right, Usually this is one you
want to go to national radio with. Because I don't
pick battles. I'm a kind man. I never argue with
my wife. She's the best thing that we're apping to.
Kind You want to punch in the face, am I right? Sam?
I I can't understand how my wife has no ability
to pick up produce. She packed me up plump and
(01:05):
she's like, I don't know how to pick out fruit
and it drives me insane. How are we going to
start with the Green Bay packers? Are you sure you
want to talk about this? I'm just kidding, like a
hard plum. That's like, can you share? I know how
Rich's stupid cave so works, right, So can you share
(01:26):
your patented fail free theory of how to pick produce? Please?
If spot he has a no fail theory, my ears,
I don't know where.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Rich is going.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
He wants to share it with the nation. I think
we're wasting your time.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
No, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
I hope I'm allowed to share this with the nation.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
No fail?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
All right? So no, I told my wife this and
she actually said, baby, you know what, that's actually a
pretty good analogy. I'll back you up. That's like still
two Like, yeah, this is like a baseball, it's a
baseball plumb.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I'm like, babe, take a bite into the we have
something to do with an ig model.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
So I said to my wife, I said, babe, you
do everything perfect. You're the best wife, You're the best mom.
I'm blessed and couldn't have made a better choice. You
may be the best mom. I bought my mom a
number one mom a little statue first ask ye a
third grade at the fair. I bought it at the
Mother's Day boutique. I said, when you pick out plums
(02:26):
and pears and any type of fruit, especially like a
plumb or a peach, feel it and compare it to
a fake boob. Okay, no, no, no, he's onto something.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
So you're talking about stone fruit here?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Yeah, thank you Sam? With the pits in it? Yeah,
I said, stone fruit if you squeeze the outside and
it's rock hard, like a girl that got a bad
boob job, that is not ripe. Now if you're if
you squeeze it and your thumb would break the skin
of the fruit, give the fruit off. That means that
(02:59):
means it's like an old saga that you don't want
to eat. Oh, that's a perfect one. A good, a
good plum or is what did Sam call them? I
love the stone fruit, a stone fruit, stone fruit. Wasn't
that the band you were in in the nineties?
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Shut up stone sour fruit?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
So I said, A good, a good stone fruit. Tambourine
for them everyone we're stone fruit. But you know what
you're onto something rich. I like it. So before we
get into the NFL, just a typical dumb rich analogy here.
If you try to pick out good fruit, it's supposed
(03:38):
to have the firmness, yet the squishiness of a perfect
fake boom.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I have a question, when did she buy this fruit?
Was this yesterday to be eaten?
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Imatiate?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
Why would a supermarket carry stuff that's going to be
like to ripe a day later. So the only thing
we really want ripe are avocados. My wife, My wife
has been those are always at the front.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
So you get a has brought home hard avocados to
They're like fake boot babe, that are too hard.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
The trick is you get a couple that are ready
to eat now and then the rest are for the rest.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Of the week.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Everyone was like this. By the way, to tie it
into sports, it's like the dude that came to the
open court and his basketball was was too full of
air and that we sound to it, you know, to
sound I'm talking about with that extra hard foods ball.
It's like you gotta have a little give, not Tom
Brady sort of give, but he's got to have a
little give.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
The ball was like a little lopsided when it had
too much air in it, like an egg shaped to it.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, yeah, that's a plum, just not there.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Plums are underrated, They're they're juicy under We got the
crunchy skin stone fruit.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Sam, Thank you, Professor Plumb.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Maybe maybe I'm just, you know, trying to talk about
anything except Nick Bosa's a c l or maybe I'm
trying to talk about anything other than the Mets on
the outside looking at of the playoff hunt. Now, it
was a miserable weekend for my teams, the Niners. One,
oh you won three and oh, but you lose Nick Bosa.
So did you win and you barely won barely one? Yeah, yeah,
And I had my notes up until the Bosa news,
(05:14):
me and the forty nine ers barely winning, but they're
still find in a way to win that winning teams.
Yeah that's a good sign. And then bam, the bad
news about Bosa being out for the season. Maybe maybe
someone steps up, I mean stepping up to the level
of a Nick Bosa. Maybe not, but there should be
a couple of good tests and Niners are playing the
Jags this week, which maybe could be a win. Maybe
they're four to oh and their first real test is
(05:35):
against the Rams, which would be the following Thursday night football.
And then after that you get a few players back,
including George Kittle, so we shall see exactly all teams
experience injuries. That's just a big one. You want to
get into it. Things that made you go hmm, Week
three of the NFL. Sam hit it, Sam, He's screaming.
That's not a good sign, Sam, I'll leave.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
That's not it.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
Oh No, that's a different that's wrong. I take that
as a goverment. You know why he's ready entertainble. I
wasn't ready for that. I really I knew it was coming,
but I wasn't ready. Here we was fantasizing about plumps.
I have stone fruit.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Here we go.
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Things that make you go.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Things that make you go, Kavino. I also take it
as a compliment when Sam gets flustered, that means I
feel like he's so happily engaged in the conversation. So
we engaged and he forgets. He pats squeezing juicy plumps,
trying to trying to find that right firmness, you know,
that right level of perfect and he was so engaged
at yeah he lost track. So it's all good, Sam,
(06:37):
I'm with you. Let's welcome. I always Sam, Let's welcome.
Danny g super producing on the phone. He produces our
best of the week. He produces. He's a producer, by
the way, days removed from jumping through tables in Buffalo.
Dan Byer's in the house, going to be back. It's
great to see you man. Thanks for chiming in on
Friday bringing the fun to us here on the show.
(06:57):
Spotty's on the videos. We're all here on Fox Sports
Radio eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. And now
we include you week three. Things that made you go
any observation that you made in the world of sports
and entertainment, primarily on football eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. All right, before we get out into football,
which you'll be ninety percent of our show today, can
I just vent about fundamental baseball for you know? You
(07:20):
could even set a one minute timer?
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Yeah? Oh sure, same Sam, you could.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Set a woman. I really just want to vent about it,
like regular minutes or uber minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
All right, I have a time already, Should I do it?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Hit a one minute timer? All right, So the Mets.
You're losing three nothing on Saturday, right, Yeah. They tie
the game up in the ninth, one out, Okay, Nimo
strikes out. Can't put the ball play. If you Nimo
ain't him? O yo, you hate you put the ball
in play. Mets win on a sack fly and strikes out.
Can't put the ball play. Bottom of the tenth run
around second, they get the free runner, start hit matter.
(07:55):
Francisco Alvarez doesn't bump them over to second and third
when the game is to three to three eight because quote,
he's not a good bunter. Get into my face with that.
I can't comprehend how in big league baseball the guy
can't quote be a good bunter. So he grounds into
a double play. The game goes into the eleventh, Mets lose,
and now they are tied with threads. They're losing the
(08:17):
tie breaker if that would be the case. So the
reality is, right now, the Mets are not your third wildcard.
If Cincinnati and the Mets play each other equally for
the final six, Mets are out. And I hate every
single thing about it. The right made it now, Yeah,
conquered plumbs and fake boobs we've conquered the Mets, thinking
(08:39):
like Abe Lincoln, now we got to get into the
biggest story I think of the weekend or shocker, I
should say shocker of the weekend. Everyone's super Bowl bound.
Green Bay Packers lose to the Browns. That made me say, immediately, now,
let me preface my weekend real quick.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Rich.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, I was at the Dodgers game on Sunday. Now
because I like the Dodgers, I hope they lose. I'm
a Yankees fan. But my daughter respectfully Danny g But
my daughter was cheering on the field. I was so
pumped about that her high school got the cheer on
Dodger Stadium field on the grass. I was like, that's
so cool. So I was at the game, trying to
(09:16):
watch the game, but also keeping one eye on the NFL,
and I'm looking. I'm like. The Packers lost to the Browns.
The Browns arguably the weakest team. They beat the Packers.
The Packers couldn't score a single point in the fourth
quarter and they led up thirteen points to lose in
the fourth quarter. That made me say, hmm, it makes
me say, what's up with their offense? What's up with
(09:38):
the Green Bay Packers offense where they can't score in
the fourth quarter against the Browns.
Speaker 7 (09:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
To watch that game might have been a different story
than just seeing the boxing school. I can't say super
Bowl bound and you can't beat the Browns.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Everyone has their trip ups. It was a road game,
and listen, it's why I lost my bill shock. It's
why I lost my big bet of the week. I remember,
I just had the needing to win. We did a
teaser bet. I do love seeing Joe Flanco's excitement, you know,
still playing for something that's sort of their super Bowl.
To win in that way, I mean, that was a
nice win. It was a trash game that the Packers
(10:14):
should have easily won on a almost a chip shot
last second field goal. It's blocked some odd quick momentum
goes the Browns way, and I think the Packers leave
Cleveland like baffled and stunned. I don't know if you
felt the same way, dB. I know you're always keeping
track of all the games. That game was weird all along.
The Packers didn't do enough to put them away, and
(10:35):
they like Cleveland hang around and then just weird things happened.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
Yeah, I know that green Bay fans are smarting over
the loss because you're like, how do you lose to Cleveland?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (10:44):
But really, the game, as you kind of lay out,
wasn't much of a game, or it shouldn't have been
a game for as long as it was. So for
Cleveland to score those thirteen un answered in the final three,
thirteen or whatever it was, you would have thought that
Green Bay would have been up twenty to nothing or
seventeen or nothing.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
That feeling you get sometimes you ever realized what a
game dB is, Like thirteen six at halftime and you're
like that one team with thirteen they should be winning
by three touchdowns and they're only a touchdown up. That
doesn't feel right, But it ties into what we were
saying before about your forty nine ers. Maybe they're not
the best team, but they're finding ways to win. The
Buccaneers finding ways to win, right that was let that
(11:22):
one slip away or a super Bowl bound team doesn't
lose like that to the Browns. They still find a
way to win. So I'm not saying it's over for them,
but I'm saying they need to make adjustments.
Speaker 8 (11:32):
Green Bay had fourteen penalties yesterday. Not that the Browns
were perfect by any means, but Cleveland's got a really
good defense. Offensively, they just haven't had things working. But
you can't allow that team to stick around and think
they have a chance. So putting up ten points is
ultimately what cost Green Bay in that scenario, because twenty
would have done it for you.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
In Cleveland, they couldn't do it.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Man. Hey, just so many great storylines unfolding in the NFL,
and that to me, had a lot of people knocked
out of survivor pools around the around the country. I
call imagine if people hadn't used the packers yet and
they're in some type of survival suicide pool or something.
That's that was probably a top pick.
Speaker 8 (12:13):
It was one of one of the top five picks.
Seahawks had a lot because they were home against the Saints.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
Yeah, you know what, I'm glad you brought them up, dB,
because they're second on my list. Seahawks dominated the Saints, right,
forty four to thirteen. Rich you're forty nine er by
the way. That game, by the way, Dad Buyer, I
know you probably watch it all just to bask in
the glory, But that game was over in like five minutes.
I looked up in between on the first quarter, in
between the early and late games, I like was making food.
(12:38):
We had some people over. I went to the kitchen
just to put out some new chips and everything. I
went back in the living room, like twenty one nothing
like that. Wasn't even a game. People over must be nice.
But I didn't get invite. Did you? Not even a
phone call?
Speaker 2 (12:51):
And I didn't anything about that.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
I get, I get like annoying phone calls. No invite.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
He didn't even call me halfway through like he did
with the fight.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, I know you guys are work friends.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Dan Byer to boxing night, so I said, I'm not
in funey.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeah, thank you that yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Right. You know what. But here's what I was gonna say.
I was gonna give Danny's uh Dan Bayer Seahawks and
props saying they might be the best team in the division.
Now that Boasa is out, I think it's safe to
say in the NFC West, the Seahawks the way they
won this weekend might be tops over your forty nine
ers moving forward, Seahawks two and one, listen, forty nine Ers,
(13:28):
Stillet defeated, but moving forward, it's a little tougher take away,
Nick Bosa, that your things look better for other teams
in the NFC West.
Speaker 8 (13:33):
And I'll say this not to be that guy, but
if it's not for that block kick at the end
of Philadelphia, I think we are raving about the Rams
today going to Philadelphia and winning that football game. So
when you talk about that division, and I know you're
gonna get to that at some point, it's just it's
a loaded division and it's a short week. Seahawks and
Cardinals play on Thursday night in an NFC West match.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
I think I think it is a better division than
we think. And Dan Bayer, you nailed it because as
an NFC West fan, you know, with all due respect
to our friends that are Rams fans, I very rarely
root for anything Philly. But at the end there, I'm like,
come on, win this game, give us, give us a
give us an L for the Rams, you know, would
(14:13):
help the Seahawks and Niners. And yeah, that was so sweet.
I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
I also think if we look at the AFC West today,
we would be saying, look at that Broncos defense. dB
might have been onto something picking the Broncos to win
the AFC West. If they had hung on to beat
the Chargers, we would have been say, man, that defense
was even able to hang on against Herbert. But those
couple of field goals in the fourth quarter won it
for the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
The same way the forty nine Ers. And I'll say
this the same way the forty nine ers. They're my team,
and I'll be a man enough to admit they lucked
out on that catching the end zone against dan Byer Seahawks,
and yesterday they just found the way to win when
they were not playing great with Mac Jones. Right, So
the forty nine Ers could very well be one and two.
They're three to zero, and the Broncos are one and two,
(15:00):
could very well be three to oh no penalty against
Indy last week, And if they hold on to beat
the Chargers, the Broncos are three and on. We're raving
about bow Nicks and chun Payton and that they're one
and two. They're they're tied with the Chiefs, and you would,
in your mind feel like the Chiefs have been awful.
Oh props to Herbert, he's playing big well. Madison Beer
got him dressing better before the game got him inspired
with that booty. I guess something. I mean, he's looking
(15:21):
like a champion.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
That pass and catch by he and Keenan Allen to
tie it up. I mean, my goodness.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
And dB pointed out something else a common theme missed
field goals over the weekend. You mentioned that before. There's
a lot of missfield goals, wockfield goals, locked field goals,
and that was a big part of the weekend. It
made us go, hmmm, did we downplay as fans how
important field goal kicker trajectory is? Because there were a
couple of people that pointed out during the games and
(15:49):
analysis and postgame, like, yo, we noticed that he had
a low trajectory and we have a better chance, like
we assume the guy just kicks it. I'm not saying
we the casual fans like you just kicked the field
goal if you don't get that ball up well.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
Because a lot of them have been working on the
line drive kicks for the new kickoff, so seems to
be affecting some of them on their field goal trip.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
No longer the kick you kind of have to shoot it,
start it low, so you can't have the power.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
To go in his end.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
So you're seeing some guys that it's not even Dan
dan Byer. It's not even like they're jumping up high.
They're just putting a big ass paw up there and
they're they're hitting it.
Speaker 8 (16:21):
And I look like an idiot because you referenced the
Broncos penalty against the Colts in Week two, and for
some that don't remember, the Colts missed a sixty yard
field goal, but they got a fifteen yard penalty because
of the leverage penalty. And I said to Carry Rhodes
that Sunday afternoon, why are you trying to block a
sixty yarder like it's it's tough enough to make just
(16:41):
it's going to be a make or miss. But yesterday
completely proved me wrong with the various blocks that we had,
the long kicks that were blocked. So that is why
you may get a leverage penalty because you are trying
to block that.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I could I point something out that only I know.
I know we're we're on in some East Coast New
York surrounding markets. But for all our friends that are
Mets and Jets fans, which is a sad existence. Did
you see the meme going around how the Bucks game
winning field goal and the Mets lost to the Nationals.
Happened like simultaneously, but we're previously like the Jets are
(17:19):
winning and the Mets that had like men on base,
and then all within a second, Mets and Jets both
poop the bed. Now it's a grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. Now
we're gonna get to all your feedback, but I'll kick
it off with a tweet I saw sort of summed
up everything I wrote down as far as things that
made you go all these mental notes. I made poppy
bender one poppy bender one on social media at Covino
(17:42):
and Rich says NFL recap of things that made me
go hmm, it was the Sunday of suck. The Falcons
suck after smacking the Vikes. Scents are a horror show
of suck. No Burrow, Bengals suck, Titans are a suckfest.
Raiders can't suck enough, Cowboys comically suck Giants the suckiest
of that ever sucked. God help us. There's a lot
of suck. So there's a lot of teams that might
(18:04):
be ass based on this weekend. Two Bengals might be
asked without Burrow that was that was. That was a
daunting game for the Bengals because you know, you assume
like you could sort of hold Drone. You may not win,
but you could hold Drone without Burrow. But that looked
like oh no. So yeah, there was a lot of like,
oh wait, yeah, a lot of sucks over the weekend.
Oh no. And you know with every suck, right, there's
(18:29):
got to be a team that stepped up, like, yeah,
Dallas sucks, but hey, the Bears played nice. Caleb Williams
maybe better than people give him credit for what. I don't
think people think he stinks. I think Caleb Williams and
good games, not a lot to show for it until
this this past weekend. You know, we have the patience
of not even know the patients of a gen z
(18:51):
or that wants everything now Amazon Now. Of my dad
who walks into a barbershop and expects a haircut as
soon as he sits there. If there's one person who
had of your dad and he's like I'm leaving, I'm like, Dad,
I thought you were going to get a haircut. He
ain't waiting around for what. When Kamino's dad goes to
ihe you're supposed to wait. When Comino's dad goes to
I Hop and they go yeah, ten to fifteen minutes,
(19:11):
He's like, I got nope. My dad comes back with
long hair. I'm like, Dad, He's like, they do eat
people there. I ain't waiting around. So we have such
little patience that, you know, we finally saw perhaps Ben
Johnson and Caleb Williams and what they could do together
once they start gelling. It's only week three and the
Bears are still a work in progress, and I think
(19:32):
that was sort of a cool I thought that was
a that was the biggest winner in my book, and
they were. There's some winners of week three, but I
think the biggest winner was the Bear's hope. Bears off
the Bears Hope. It was a big win, like there's
hope there and over the Cowboys thirty one to fourteen.
Something to celebrate at least. And Caleb Williams speaking of
(19:52):
two hundred and ninety eight yards. Four tudies, yay, four tuddies.
So your observations, there's no wrong answers. I got a
bunch of random ones too. Can I give you one
just to set up some phone calls? Let's do with
her the rumor over the weekend that Adele is a
potential halftime show participant. I'm like, beat it with that.
(20:12):
What are you trying to put us to sleep? Adele?
I understand she's a generational talent. Oh my god, I
got time for Dell at halftime. Adele is squeakily talented. Come,
Adele is so good. But like if you were to say, yeah,
I'm going to you know, your mom's going to Vegas
(20:33):
and wants to see an act or exactly or like
your your aunt or a girl's bachelorette party and they
want to go light and they'll see first to say
no thanks. Let me be the first to say she's
got a beautiful woice and she's great, but not everyone's
cut out for the super Bowl halftime with.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
My old aunt Christina loves Adele. That tells you everything
you need to know right now, No.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Way know how And I say that respectfully. We're talking
NFL and anything that made you go hmm over the weekend.
You know what made me go hm when you look
at the Cowboys and we said the Big Winner as
far as like wow, good a good moment for Ben
(21:13):
Johnson and and Caleb Williams and that team just you know,
it went right right. You looked at that game and
you said, all right that the Cowboys, you know, they're
not terrible. So well, the Bears put on a display
against AID, you know, mid level team, you think, But
then you look at the Cowboys and you go, Michael
Parsons left, Ceedee Lamb is now injured. This is a
(21:33):
sort of stripped down version of that team, like, yeah,
you got Dak who you know, tries to compete, but
that team they lack any type of star power. Huh.
They're heading towards the ass category with the injuries, and
on the flip side of they might be asked that
(21:54):
they might be awesome. And there's a new Jones in town.
That's Indiana Jones, and I got to give him props
here because I always thought he was better than what
we saw in New York. And there's a whole story
about it that we might get to separately. But even
Saquon Barkley is saying that there's one dude that he
used to play with that he still roots for all
the time, and that's Daniel Jones. I'm sorry, Indiana Jones,
(22:17):
because the Colts with Jones, I mean he's putting up
record breaking numbers forty one to twenty over the Titans.
He passed for two hundred and twenty eight yards. One
Tuddy just looking like a totally different guy in a
new setting, which is inspiring in life. Maybe it's just
maybe you're not ugly, maybe you're not broke, Maybe you
don't suck. Maybe you just need to be somewhere else
(22:39):
like Indiana Jones three. You know, for the Colts, gotta
give props. I'm looking at our intro threat on the
YouTube chat. Yeah, Fading says yo. Green Bay didn't show.
But how about that Brown's defense. You tell me that
defense is an elite. They sort of shut down, you know,
the Packers kept him at Bay the whole gamete. Well,
the Packers weren't control that game until the fourth quarter.
(23:00):
Just it's not like they were putting up thirty or something, right, No, Yeah,
I mean first week Packers look pretty good. For the argument,
there's the flip side. So man, the Packers really sucked
it up. Or hey, the Browns defense really stepped up,
So props to them. All right, let's get to the
phone calls and the feedback again. We're streaming live on YouTube,
Covino and Rich FSR. We do it every day, so
we have a live stream going on. Thank you for that.
(23:21):
And your phone calls are always fun and important. Let's
go to them. Let's say hello, eight Fox starting Illinois
with Baker. What's up Baker? Hey, Baker, Hey, thanks.
Speaker 9 (23:31):
For comment on the fake Bube conversation. Yes, you guys
are there's a caveat on the fake ones. Okay, the
there's the silicone and.
Speaker 1 (23:48):
Then the singing, Yeah salin the.
Speaker 9 (23:51):
Hard onesling and they feel like they're real.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
No, no, no, you got you gotta be you gotta
do you realize he's talking to a guy that has
his PhD and fake moves. Rich Davis, Yeah, the saline's
the hard ones. The silicone ones are the soft ones.
Come on, Baker, get your act together.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
And that would have a nice little Seinfield reference.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
They're real and they're spectacular. My point was we were
talking about picking up produce. That's because we're all over
the place on the show. No, that's just you, buddy,
Start bringing me into it. Sean Sacramento, it's up, Sewan, what's.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
My tire rack pack? Shout out to the ti Iraq chat,
what's up? Man, forget like and subscribe. Otherwise you know,
Iowa Sam doesn't get his his his his Christmas bonus
unless he gets one hundred likes every time.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Yeah, I was Sam that people don't know if we
don't get if we don't keep improving our YouTube chat numbers.
Iowa Sam says, that is a holiday fruitcake. No, he doesn't.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Undred likes equals one hundred pennies from me.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
You're not getting any holiday pantone this year. No, exactly, there.
Speaker 7 (24:53):
You got heard it. We don't get to one hundred
lives by the end of the show, everybody loses their
dental plans.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
So get on those.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
Appreciate it. It all helps, man in a serious uh, in
a serious way. Anytime you're watching or leaving a comment
or checking out our bonus pond over promise, it all helps.
What's up man?
Speaker 7 (25:09):
Hey man, you guys are the most interactive show on
Fox Sports. But really quick on this subject. Something that
made me go, hmmm, how important is kicking in the NFL?
Ask the Browns ask the Eagles as the Chargers. No
matter you know how much they pay these quarterbacks, it
always comes down to kicking and just really quick, man,
just to put a button on the talk about fake
(25:30):
versus real, the fad transfer next level brou When you
want to talk about feeling real, closest thing to real
is you could get Well.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
I always said, uh, it's usually my holiday analogy, you know,
fake Christmas trees or like boobs. If they're really good,
you can't tell oh like that. So anyway, but his
point on the kicker, Yo, it sounds obvious, but you're right,
the emphasis on all these marquee players. You're paying the
Miles Garretts and Boss and the Micah Parsons and the
(26:03):
you know and the quarterbacks forty fifty sixty million dollars.
It's a place kicker. So many times Aaron Rodgers is
two and one because a guy on his team kicked
a sixty yard field goal in week one. You know
there's teams like yesterday, little block and then a kick
the other way, like right simulas.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Minutes apart from each other.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Dude, the forty nine ers got rid of their kicker
because he was costing them.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
It's let's talk about kickoff returns for a second too.
How about your special teams in general? Your boy Deebo
Samuel started off that game for the Commanders by running
one almost to the house, and the Commander's special teams
looked elite, and the Raiders special teams looked like some
position coaches needed to be fired.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
And I'll tell you what special teams and kicking, which
is part of special teams, that is we always talk
about that being the most underrated component of a team.
But now with the touchback, if your ball doesn't hit
that zone and it goes through the end zone, thirty
five yard line is a pretty substantial starting point, don't
you think. And I saw a couple times yesterday watching
around the league, there were some kickers that just booted
(27:14):
it through the end zone and you're like, wow, they're
really quick to want to give the thirty five huh. Now,
I was at the Dodgers game, rich watching my daughter
on the field cheerleading. Like I said, so, I had
one eye on the game, one eye on my phone
watching all the football scores and the games on the
red zone. But I got home in time to watch
(27:34):
the end of the later games and the Chiefs Giants,
And I know you think the Giants are ass No,
that was the stinker of a game. That was like
the worst game I watched there was, you know, because
I wanted to enjoy some football camp. Scataboo got you
excited three times. No, I mean he had a pretty
good game.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Man, we ran.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
I think he had sixty yards rushing, had a couple
of good plays he had. But he showed a lot
of gusto, a lot of gusto, a lot of potential,
a lot of heart, like the type of player that
Giants fans would really really rally around. And I think
he made a real big statement yesterday did a backflip touchdown.
And I think what we're getting at here, though, is
(28:11):
and I believe Dave Boll said today that he's open
to Dart being the starter moving forward. So I think
what we're seeing is limited time, shorter leash on Russell
Wilson that we may have thought, and maybe some changes soon.
All right, Well, with that said, we're going to take
all your feedback, but let's go to dB for an update.
If there's anything we're missing, DB's always got it what's
(28:31):
up there.
Speaker 8 (28:31):
So I don't know there's going to be a change
in New York with the Giants from Russell Wilson to
Jackson Dart. Remember they also have Jamis Winston on the roster,
so it could be a change. But Brian Dabele was
asked today about if they were going to make a
change with Wilson. He says, they're evaluating everything and working
through personnel decisions. See I told you, we'll learn a
lot more probably on Wednesday. It's also on Wednesday we'll
(28:52):
find out more about Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels, who missed
their win over the Raiders because of his knee injury.
Head coach Dan Quinn says that Dan remains at day
to day. Forty nine Ers ed rusher Nick Bosa done
for the year with a torn ACL and his knee
suffered in yesterday's went over with the Cardinals. This one's
in his right knee. He actually partially torn the ACL
and his rightney in high school and suffered and left
(29:13):
knee ACL tear in twenty twenty. Chargers running back Naji
Harris done for the year with a rupture achilles tended,
while Cowboys wide out Ceedee Lamb could miss three to
four weeks according to ESPN. With that high ankle sprain,
he has expected to miss at least Week four against
the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
How about your boy Jacobe Young of the Nationals with
those circus catches. I don't want to hear about it, dude,
that was in suits. The Mets season could be summed
up in game tying home run robbed No, but just
from the bottom of the ninth inning, not only did
he have that one circus catch off his hackey, yeah,
he then caught one that it was arguably going to
(29:53):
be a home runs Rollubly it was a home I
mean his glove was over the fence, but it was
still an insane catch. In sing in the member. That
could have very well have been the play of the day,
But you know what, NFL is king, and it's time
for our ti ract play of the day. The biggest
upset I would say so far in this NFL season.
Speaker 10 (30:11):
Andre Schmidt for the win from fifty five yards.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Out, two seconds, backs is back, kick is up and
the kick is right down.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
Fun right, there's the flag free base bro Hell Bays time,
Green Bay Mapley, the Green Bay Packers.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
And you gotta feel you gotta feel bad for the
Packers a little bit, but not really. You gotta feel
good for Smid the kicker. Remember he had a really
rough week one, and that there was fans calling for
his job, but good a new kicker. They stuck with
him and he came through big time. Yesterday you know
they were singing fun times and Cleveland again, Cleveland crops
(30:54):
again to them over the Packers's Courtesy of Browns Radio Network,
our tire i Rack play of the Day for over
forty tyrak has been helping customers find the right tires
for how, what and where they drive. Ship fast and
free back by free Road has a protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation, tire rack dot com
Way tire buying should be. But arguably Jacobe Young in
(31:14):
the world of baseball had some of the greatest plays
of the weekend. No gott to look him up if
you somehow missed him. The most valuable, the most important
one was obviously his jumping over the fence and robbing
Francisco Alvarez of a game tying home run, which may
have honestly killed them that season. But that hacky sack
one where yeah, off his love he kicked it up
(31:36):
to himself like I've never seen. That would have been
if this was the eighties and nineties, it would have
been on Warner Wolf's Plays of the Week. It would
have been on George Michael's Sportsman. That would have been
on Mel Allen's ricebaw Funny sat Up, no doubt. So hey,
let's take your phone calls, your observations week three of
the NFL. We'll go to Tony and Oregon. What's uptown eight? Dony?
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Hey, hey, do you have a take on the fake
versus reel? Okay, first, my sports take. I think one
of you said the Bears were the big winner of
the weekend, and I agree, But I also think there's
a bigger winner because I think as a Bears fan,
me and about a million other Bears fans were about
ready to cancel the second half of our NFL ticket
(32:20):
description before the second half of the Invoys and we.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
Started in October, had they lost that game.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
So I think maybe YouTube was a big winner of
the weekend.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
You know what, I think you said the Bears. They're
one and two now, but you know who could be
one and two after tonight The Lions and the Packers
lost yesterday in dramatic fashion. So if anything, the Bears
were the big winners because the Bears not only one
the Packers lost, and tonight the Lions have to play
the Ravens. So you're looking at a division that could
(32:49):
be one game, Danny, you got a couple two and
one team, a couple one and two teams.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
It's not it's for early in the season. This is
an important Monday night football.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
You if you were the Bears and you were one
and two and you staring at the Lions and the
Packers both at three and oh, that's a way different season.
You know they're they're both two and one. It could
be one and two. What's your second thoughts on?
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Oh? I always said if I could touch and feel,
then they're real.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, big big Mike who runs his place, I believe
once said that those are his words of words. Yeah,
we learned things here. Thank you, Ron in the in
the cha cha Rochester. What'sever on?
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Ron?
Speaker 9 (33:24):
Hey guys, proud Syracuse San.
Speaker 11 (33:26):
When I gret City young kid, I met this girl.
Speaker 9 (33:30):
So it happened to be from Miami visiting New York City.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
Yes, something back to a hotel, a real job.
Speaker 12 (33:35):
Yeah, it was really hot, pretty ninety doelples chairs, no
life and I'm like we had he pulled around.
Speaker 11 (33:41):
I'm like, wow, these are Unbelievable's so hard.
Speaker 7 (33:43):
So like a year later, I'm like they were fake
the whole year to figure out that they were fake,
you know, and you were youngster back.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Then, or they weren't right, But I don't know. I'm
confused by the way. Maybe they were just like the Plums.
I yeah, brought to work. Yeah, I had to hear
the plump story, understand. But thank you guys. You're missing
Moody and catch the podcast. Catch the podcast. That story
Makesel says without the Plum story. At the beginning of
the show, Hey, tonight, before we move along for a
second from the NFL tonight Lions Ravens, you want to
(34:15):
talk about that next for a second, because those are
two teams that one is going to start out one
and two and we'll let you know who's going to
win tonight. Next, I do want to say something about baseball,
if that's okay, race ball, and it makes me say hmm,
cause I'm like, are people for real? Like stop, are
(34:37):
you for real? Stop it? Are you serious? I have
to ask that when you say this, or do people
just want to get a hot take or be a
contrarian or get that like or you know, be different?
Are they daring to be different? Cal Rawley is not
the MVP. It's just so blatantly obvious to me. And
that's not even being a biased Yankees fan. I just
(34:59):
don't understand how, not even a little bit. And here's why.
A right, ready, it's not even an argument. But I'll
take phone calls. But with this platform, I gotta talk
some sense and keep it straight here, all right, you
gotta keep it one hunting. I gotta keep it trill
as they say, true and real on Fox Sports Radio
trail stop with the nonsense. Aaron judges your m v
(35:23):
P unless something else changes. He leads an average, he
leads in it doesn't lead it home runs or RBI,
but only things he doesn't lead in and helps cal
Rowley did something he no one's done since fifty. Mantle
switch hit or to hit over fifty gives a Diddley squad?
Can you let me finish your big Ninny?
Speaker 2 (35:44):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (35:44):
I love you one hundred years old like the gulbr
just Diddley, Gibber Jabber and JIBBRONI are we gonna have
this conversation every year because last year it was It's
judge fatigue, and it's gonna be. We live a world
of what's the next big thing. I'm tired of this guy.
You take it for granted that Judge is that great,
(36:06):
so your whole hum about his excellence. The dude is incredible.
And he leads in every single category that is a
major category. And I'll tell you, except for home runs,
a RBI, he leads an average on base percentage, slugging, ops,
run scored, war walks, total bases, extra hits. Raleigh leads
(36:29):
in home run and RBI barely, and he's played more
would have something close if he didn't miss a game
Judge was hurt. What he's doing is remarkable, and just
because he's been there, done that, you're like, yeah, whatever, dude, whatever.
The Yankees would not be there without Judge and the Mariners. Yeah,
(36:50):
he's doing great for a catcher, but you don't judge
MVP based on great for a catcher. Judge leads in
every major category except for two and Leigh bear that
I do see a lot of Joe Aaron Judge. It's
a joke. His Baseball Reference does have a lot of bold,
meaning he is the lot of every category except for two,
(37:11):
except for two, stop with the nonsense. And if he
was playing those days, he would have had more. He
would have had more if he did that missing games.
But that doesn't matter. It does me. I want to
read the check. They're in the lead, uh, in the
wild card lead, might be winning the Al East. We'll
see they wouldn't do that, not judge. They'll not give
me the whole Mariners thing because it's a fun story.
(37:33):
They're not winning their division, and they were predicted to
win their division. They might win their division. They're two
games back. You don't know that West. They're playing the
Orioles in the White Sox next. It's very possible West
hit us up. And he said, calm down is a
Mariners fan? Is he realistic? Said, calm down, Yankee boy,
be realistic. And he said, MVPs, don't drop a routine
fly ball in the World Series. Irrelevant, totally irrelevant, I know,
(37:57):
but irrelev conversation.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
I didn't even have this season, I know.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
But he's just right. What I'm trying to tell you is,
it's a fun story. It's a cool take. It's a nice,
like little combative thing to say. And does Raleigh deserve
all the props in the world. Yes, but when you
say for a catcher, that doesn't mean Deadley's squat. It's
not based on that he's having a very good year.
You're MVP based on every other stat Aaron Judge, period,
(38:23):
Seattle Mariners. You don't take it away just to lift
someone else because you feel like answer this question. Seattle
Mariners and the New York Yankees have practically the same record.
They're within one game of each other, and they keep
going back and forth. So you can't be like this
team is way more dominant. They're both. They're both practically
identical as teams. Air numbers I don't care about. Then't
(38:44):
go to Ringling Brothers. He should juggles.
Speaker 9 (38:49):
Ling.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
He's ridiculous, this guy. You can't compare him in cal
Rawley having a magical season, and he leads in two categories.
Aaron Judge leads in every other one even is slugging,
hold On has more, who has more home runs? And
he's not even winning and slugging or war or anything
(39:11):
total not even in total bases, Aaron just.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Still leads war. What is it really good for? Absolutely
not say it again now?
Speaker 1 (39:19):
And ops, which is apparently everything which is on base
plus slugging. Judge leads, stop, stop, stop trying to be different.
Stop it good. Tell him how wrong he is calving
an unbelievable season and he's not the MVP. You sound
like you're talking to hisself. Then he just said that
in your ear? Well, how am I? I? Guys? Sometimes
(39:40):
I think the.
Speaker 4 (39:40):
Nyg's on the air Roger and Tacoma as a Mariners fan,
he says he wants to combat you on your thought rad.
Speaker 12 (39:49):
You are you are just a typical New York Yankee, so.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
Obvious, you are just so overjudged being awesome that you
take it for granted.
Speaker 12 (39:58):
It is the arrogance that flows out.
Speaker 9 (40:00):
Of every.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Numbers. Don't lie, it's not arrogance.
Speaker 12 (40:05):
All right, let me let me this is what you're
seeing from cal Rawley is something that has.
Speaker 7 (40:10):
Never been done before.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yes, exactly passed.
Speaker 12 (40:13):
He passed Mickey Mantle as is the greatest switch hitting catcher.
He passed the catchers while catching.
Speaker 1 (40:20):
He's the most valuable. I'm not nearly given the NVC award.
Speaker 12 (40:25):
Listen, he leads, Aaron Judge also a stolen bases. You
forgot that and the war is only a half of
point difference between the two. But let me tell you,
let me give you an example of what this is.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
No, it's not. There's there's two different wars. He's two points.
Judges are ahead in both by the way. But go ahead.
Speaker 12 (40:44):
Okay. So he's catching in Kansas City, like four or
five games ago. The ball goes into the dirt, it
gets under his little chin pad, hit him in the throat.
He has to take time out, and we thought he
might be get yanked from the game. Stays in the game,
hits the home runs from the right side, hits the
home runs from the left side.
Speaker 1 (41:04):
Eric Truck has been dhing and playing the outfield sparingly.
He was hurt and he's still he's still owning run.
Speaker 12 (41:11):
He manages an entire pitching staff. The beating, that's the
reason why a catcher has never hit more than fifty
home runs. The beating they take behind the plate is brutal. Okay,
So what you're seeing with would you argue historic?
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Would you argue that that is very valuable? You know
what else?
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Historic?
Speaker 1 (41:28):
Leading in every single Okay, he's leading in two categories,
and not by a lot. Mind you, judge is gonna
hit at least three or four more home runs in
the next few games. Judge has forty nine home runs.
Cal Rawley has forty eight. Judge also played less games.
Judge has one hundred and one hundred and five RBI.
Cal Rawley has one hundred and twenty one. Judge the
big dominate. Yeah, Judge's always like one hundred points higher
(41:49):
bating average in him and a lot more hits and
ahead in everything else. How do you discredit that? Well before, Okay,
hold on, hold on.
Speaker 12 (42:00):
If he hits sixty home runs, which is very possible,
if the Marens win their first Western Conference their AL
West championship in twenty one years, do you think there's
any way they're not going to give him the MVP
home runs For a catcher.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
It doesn't matter for a catch. Is that a charity stat?
Speaker 3 (42:20):
No?
Speaker 1 (42:20):
For a catcher, I don't care about no, No, No,
it's it's why do you want to charity for what
he brings to the table? Yeah? How about what judges
bringing to the table? Looking at offense only, you're looking
at it, you know, totally offense only. You want to
lift cal raw by bringing Judge down. You're looking at
offense only. What about Judge's average on base percentage, slugging,
you're looking at offense all hold on every other stat.
(42:41):
Why are you downplaying every other stat just to offlift
two stats. Even with Cal Rawly's home runs, he doesn't
have a better slugging percentage than Aaron Judge. All these
stats that apparently matter now don't matter all of a sudden,
just fit the narrative. This thing on. You're being ridiculous, Judges,
your MVP. You're just tired of hearing it. You're just
(43:02):
tired of hearing it. And let's not forget Aaron Judge
was robbed but little it's on Rich, that little turd Altuve.
Anyone now robbed him, that cheat turda back in the day.
So Judge Judges owed another one.
Speaker 5 (43:16):
Guys, Hello, Judge is excellent, like every year, and then
he has to go up against like these crazy, like
novelty things that happened, like the performances that are like,
you know.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Calmost sixty having an unbelievable season, but you gotta be
realistic about it. Is all props in the world to
Cal Raley. I love what he's doing for baseball. For
that Mariners lineup as a catcher. Dude, Aaron Judges all
around insanely better that everyone else in the al. That's
like he's second to show. Hey, bro, you're out of
(43:46):
your craziness. You're you're talking honestly. You're gonna tell me
Aaron Judge is not a better than player. Just cause
you talk loud and you're just to keep talking doesn't
mean you're right. Then give me what Besides by stole bases,
Aaron Judge is too less than cal Rawley. Let's not
act like cal Rally is a speedster. Get out of
my face. Neither one of them or speedsters with his
(44:07):
big dumper. He ain't stealing bases. Aaron Judge was hurt.
I think you're forgetting such a I'm gonna give you
two key factors in favor of cal Rawley. Number one.
In spring training, when Vegas sets the over unders, the
Mariners were predicted to be slightly over five hundred. They
(44:28):
were expected to have eighty three to eighty four wins.
The Yankees were expected to have close to ninety four
to ninety five wins. So the expectation for the Yankees
was to win ninety five games, win the division, and
make the playoffs. The expectation for the Mariners were maybe
they could you know, compete possibly for a wild card.
And because of cal Rawley, he has elevated that Mariners team.
(44:50):
Where Aaron Judge is doing what everyone expects him. No
expects him exactly that Aaron Judge fatigue, you're expecting him
to be exactly just because this guy came out of
nowhere for most people, doesn't give him the award. You
know too much about baseball to be as foolish as
when you keep saying in every categoryish, I gave you
the most important but you keep you only keep saying
(45:12):
offensive numbers. You're not talking about Aaron Judge is not
a good defensive player. Aaron because he ate an error
in in the World Series. He's an adequate outfielder and
he's played He's d h and played outfield sparingly. Cal
Raley he has managed for the past two months because
he was hurt big chunk of the season. Bro cal
Raley has managed a pitching staff. Cal Rawley is doing things.
(45:35):
Give him a gold glove. No, but when you keep
saying in every category, well then you can say you
can say everything on the defensive side of things. Cal
Raley wins just no, because you know what wins above replacement,
Aaron Judge wins good luck finding another catch all like
cal Raley. Are we now debating he's the best catch?
Then I agree with what I'm saying. Is cal Rally
(45:55):
the catcher? Yeah, there's no argument, no argument, is the
most valuable player? This isn't the most valuabal because he
wins the most valuable because then, by my theory, the
most valuable catcher cal Raley compared to the number two catcher,
there's a big gap. Aaron Judge compared to the number two, three,
four or five sluggers is not a substantial It's just
(46:18):
not I'm sorry, what say that again? Cal Raley?
Speaker 2 (46:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (46:22):
And how much better he is at what overall? Than
the other catchers out there? Most teams would be like, yeah,
my catchers think, so what is this a catcher's category?
This is his most valuable players most valuable play Aaron
Judge is so much better than everybody else. Like I said,
Herman Monster and pinstripes, the guy leads in everything. How
(46:42):
are you debating that? You're giving me two talking points
about cal Raley. I just gave you like twenty five
categories where Aaron Judges super all offensive categories, and he's
a great outfielder, dude, great, yes, great, he made one error.
Get off that. But by the way, the error that
Wes wants to bring up everything, that was his only
eerr of the year last year, and that was in
(47:04):
I'm sorry, last year twenty twenty four. You gotta stop
with that. Is Aaron Is Aaron Judge like a golden
outfield Yes, caliber, Yes, he's great and he has a
Canon arm. So is cal Raley an amazing player? Yes,
but don't down play Judge just to uplift cal Raleigh.
Cal Rawley's great, He's not the MVP. Sorry, that's my
(47:25):
take on it. And I know you had some baseball
you wanted to talk. Let's say hi to Vince in Houston.
Speaker 6 (47:29):
What's the Vince Hey, Good evening, y'all. And I'm somebody
who just saw the Mariners sweep my Astros. The catcher
is the quarterback on the field. So the fact that
he's putting up these numbers while still handling, I mean,
when he's passing Johnny Bench, I mean most teams would
(47:50):
take a catcher hitting two point fifty who had a
cannon for an arm for hell yeah, but.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
You can't just discount every other stat value. Bro Right,
I do not think that with the actual vote, are
gonna think the way you're thinking. But he's like, no,
but you know what they're thinking about actual stats, not
your opinion. It's not the best offensive player of the year.
It's value the most valuable player and what calt rally
(48:17):
brings as that's to what it is supposed to be.
But it's never that way. So all of a sudden,
you're gonna make it that way for cal Raleigh because
you're sick of Judge. Judge is a great player and
ambassador to the league. Don't take away from that guy
just to uplift the new shiny story. Sean hit us
up and he said, you and Rob Parker are should
go on a double date with Aaron Judge. You guys
(48:37):
hang from Aaron Judge every day. Apparently you know what
you know who knows a little something about it, the
guy with an actual vote, Rob Parker. So tell that
to BRONI where's his vote? Because Rob Parker actually has one,
so I value his opinion more. What about what about
the comments on our feedback saying the Yankees were predicted
to possibly go to the Worlds here is again and
win where cal Raley has carried this team because judge
(48:59):
is that value. He surpasses his own expectations. Still if
in how great judges, it's like a built in expectation,
and you're therefore downplaying what he's able to accomplish. You're
taking that for granted. Look at those numbers. He's gonna
have four consecutive fifty plus home runs. No one's backing
you up on the feedback. I don't care. Let them
(49:20):
then host with them. This is the convenience I need.
I need their approval. I feel very confident what I'm saying.
So that's my take on it. With all the chirp
and about cal Raley, I feel the need to use
this platform to tell you the truth. And that's my
truth as a guy that watches every day as well.
So the end, next story, because I know you want
to talk about your mess. That's my truth. Let's go
(49:42):
to Nick and Santa Barbara. You know what backs up
my truth. I don't know the numbers, thank you the
stats every step half the game, Hey guy, half what
game you're talking about? That you're you're sound like if
you were talking about a football team. You'd be talking
about a team and discounting offense or defense and only
talking about one layer of the game. Aaron Judges, d
part of what cal Rally is brought to the table
this year is that he is managing a pitching staff
(50:06):
that is far out doing what they thought. They are
about ten games over pace of what they thought. Aaron
Judge was banged up, hasn't played the outfield in a
couple months. Like you said, he missed eight games. So
it's like and he probably would have had more home
runs if he played those games. Oh, he's the greatest.
Guess what that does matter is the great he is,
right show he Judge Coleman, He's not even like the
third guy. Coleman just hit us up saying what Rally,
(50:29):
what cal Rally is doing is comparable to Lamar or
Josh is doing in the NFL. Just Jimmy, give me
the four A catcher for a switch hitter for what
for a guy with a big ass? Always include the four? Uh,
to make the argument. That's the fact that when you
talk about value, not because you know who's just a
great all around player. Aaron Judge, what's up? Nick Santa Barbara.
Speaker 12 (50:48):
All right, you guys can talk about your catches for
a while.
Speaker 11 (50:52):
Look, the MLBS system sucks. The playoff system is insane.
You cannot play sixty two games and not get a
bye in the playoffs. It's the most idiotic. Baseball is
the greatest game.
Speaker 1 (51:08):
I think Baseball's postseason.
Speaker 2 (51:09):
I think that.
Speaker 1 (51:09):
I think their post systems, their postseason is pretty awesome.
What's what? What do you like about it? It's stupid.
I think there's some third What do you what don't
you like about it? Tell me he's nice and stupid. Yeah, Nick,
just tells me you about it.
Speaker 12 (51:21):
Yeah, wait a minute.
Speaker 11 (51:23):
The third seed played sixty two games and won the
division and has to play a wildcard team that's twelve
games behind the leading division winner in the other division.
You tell me that's logical, it's stupid.
Speaker 1 (51:36):
Well, dude, that's like saying an NFL team that's ten
and seven, can you believe they're gonna play a That's
like saying a wildcard team that won twelve games. You're
mad that they have to go play a division winner
that won ten games. It's just a little caveat of
the sport, dude. It's like not everything's gonna work out
the way Nick likes it, though I do left Santa
Barbara and thanks for us, And Nick's a good guy man.
Sana Barber's a beautiful place. Hey, I'm just trying to
(51:57):
speak the truth. I'm a truth speaker cheer on this show.
And I hear a lot of people talking about cal
Raley and it's a great story for a catcher the end.
All right, Well if you think that was your exclamation point,
oh think again. So we'll talk some more NFL or

the Titans number five? You got six seven, I League
of their own, Field of Dreams and that Field Dreams someone. Okay,
rounding off at number ten would be Moneyball.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
So yeah, buddy, you know so dumb. Yeah, because I
have all these written down, and I do that same
thing every time. We always write down the ones and
never say them. I just figured lists like that always have,
like an old boxing movie. So I was like, ridging Bull,
what are like Raging Bull?
Speaker 13 (55:54):
The oldest movie on the list was Rocky nineteen seventy
six at number one.

Speaker 2 (57:12):
One that was Danny.
Speaker 8 (57:14):
Like, I know I'm a Covino guy, but your favoritism
towards Rich in this game is absurd.
Speaker 13 (57:19):
We gave Covino an answer, we don't.
Speaker 1 (57:25):
That's like a delay of game.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
Ran there like a beat? Yeah, nine beats there? Who's playing?

Speaker 9 (58:43):

Speaker 2 (58:43):
Seriously, Andrew? Are we doing here? Andrew?

he he is?
Speaker 2 (59:50):
I should have delayed that a little bit more. You
give it to him, Dan, Let's give it to him.
Speaker 8 (59:55):
Stop it if you said if you would have said
Sean Parsons, that also would have worked.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
A couple of other active coaches, like.
Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
Michael Parson, Bill Parsons.
Speaker 8 (01:00:05):
Because he was away from the mic, you know, like
that's what like it was like this distant Parsons.
Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
He was like on shore, you know, Sean Payton and
John Harbord.
Speaker 1 (01:00:14):
That's weird when I said it John Harbough, I can't
thinking Jim doesn't have enough. I didn't even think of John.
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
All right, quickly, quickly to the third category. Coveno and
Andrew both with wins so far? All right, say it like,
Charlie Sheen, what do you say winning? You have five
seconds to name an MLB team who has played, who
has who has the most playoff wins? I should say
since the year two thousand. MLB team most playoff w
(01:00:40):
since the year two thousand. Covino, You're up first, starting

Is this postseason wins?
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
You said playoff wins? Covino.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Tigers are Nationals not on the.
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
List between Rich and.
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
Buyer, Rich Astros yes, Buyer Tigers yes, yeah, Rich.
Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
Three Ers, Yes, go Buyer. What about the Rais? Yes?
Back to Rich, You're.
Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Orleans no long counted. What do you mean you can't
see you can not give me a countdown five seconds?
Speaker 11 (01:01:58):
That gone?
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
You can't just be like, I wait till the last second.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
How are we judging that? Well, we're gonna have to Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
It wasn't answer anyway, he said, So it wasn't on
the list.
Speaker 4 (01:02:10):
So Buyer wins that round, but that means we go
to overtime. We're gonna have to do that after the
uptome Jesus.
Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
Thinking Daniel Murphy in his playoff run, That's what I
was thinking. That's on the list, right, they are really yes?
Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
But I was with the Nationals the Diamondbacks they are
angels are even on that list?
Speaker 11 (01:02:28):
What?
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Get out of here? I know I hated that. And
now we conclude last one standing with our final question.
Dan Bayer's on standby Covino's here, and it's between who Daddy.
Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
J It's between Coveno, Andrew and Bayer. Let's bring Andrew
from Springfield, Missouri back in. All right, Andrew? You ready?
All right? Tie break here, no multiple choice, it's whoever
comes closest, So just buzz in with your name to
go first here?
Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
In the fifteen seasons that the great Bruce Smith wore
a Bills uniform, how many secks did he have with
the Bills he played his last four with Washington. We're
not going to count those. Just want to know how
many Bruce Smith had as a Bills player in fifteen seasons?
Speaker 2 (01:03:11):
Think about it? All right, go ahead, think about your
answer for a second. Sorry, no, it's okay, Andrew, you
get to go first here. How many sacks as a Bill.
Speaker 9 (01:03:22):
I'm going to say one, one.
Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
Hundred even, all right? Who wants to go next? By Cove?
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
All right, buyer I'll go one sixty eight, one sixty eight.
All right, Cove, I'm.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
Going to average Tennesseeason one hundred and fifty.
Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
One fifty and the answer is one seventy one. Buyer
is the winner, Thank you very much, only off by
a couple.
Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
Holy more, you spend three days in Buffalo. He's got
to bet. I hate you.
Speaker 1 (01:03:52):
I should have just said the price is right one ahead.
I should have, but I was like, you know, I
already had the math figured out my brain, and that
was it.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
That is Buyer's thirty second victory.
Speaker 1 (01:04:01):
Funny brag about it.
Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
Yeah, Danny, how many was it? My headset's not working.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Andrew in Missouri, thank you for playing the game and
going to overtime.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Yeah, he did great, great job. Hey, thanks for playing, man,
and remember you could play any week, any day. We
have another game tomorrow. We'll do Showtime Mahomes Trivia tomorrow
for your chance to win more process.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
It just shows that cheaters never win.
Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
What oh him? Oh yeah, Covino, you mean the Parsons.
Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Cheaters never win? You know I did. That's what I.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
Meant, Parcels. But I said Parsons, I mean, had the
p A R just came out wrong. Man, I can't
wait till you say something wrong. Give me three minutes
and I'll get you. I got a buddy boy. Uh hey,
good news. The Mets can't lose tonight. Baseball's off for
the most part. There's a couple of games, but all
the games that are being played today, I'm pretty certain
when I say none of them have playoff implications. Well,
the Podjay's Brewers replacement. That's really about it. So baseball
(01:05:01):
a dead story today now tonight. Interestingly enough, he got
a pretty darn good NFL Monday night football game. Baltimore's
favored by four and a half points at home against
the Lions. Now here's the crazy part. One might argue,
these are two of the five best teams in the
National Football League and one of them is going to
(01:05:22):
start out one and two just based on some of
the breaks they've got so far. So Ravens Lions, what
do we like? Do we like the Lions getting ten
and a half in a teaser and take that over
under down to like maybe forty seven? Go over forty
seven Lions plus ten and a half? What do you
just think straight bet Lions Lions money line? Maybe what
(01:05:45):
do you got My instinct is nothing here, guys. I
think you go teaser Lions getting a ton of points
because I don't know who's gonna win this game. So
Lions ten and a half over forty seven. Lock that
teaser bed in. Sometimes that's the easiest way to go
when you don't know. But enjoy your Monday night foosball
Lions at Ravens, Ravens at home, Enjoy the game and
(01:06:08):
again trivia tomorrow show Time of Homes Trivia. We'll bring
it here on the show. We'll see you guys. Then
until then, a rima there, chie baby, see you in
the Promised Land. Goodbye, guys,
