(00:27):
We started here about five years ago doing weekends and
things like that, but it's our third full anniversary, so
we celebrate the milestone. We share funny moments, memorable moments
from the past few years, and tons of giveaways. Maniana
on the show later today, like we always do on Thursdays,
old school win fifty hits, We reminisce, we throw it back.
We'll talk some NFL stories where people were written off. Yeah,

(00:51):
but guess what guys like Gino Smith didn't right back.
Are you talking about Indiana Jones? Yes, yes, so Daniel
Jones other examples of that. We're gonna talk old school
win fifty hits. So in about forty seven minutes every Thursday,
we throw it back and we reminisce and we get
you involved. At eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
and we're gonna talk about, well, it's kind of rare

(01:13):
to strike gold more than once. Some people have done
it three times, and we'll explain, like you hit it
big more than once. We'll talk about it here on
the show. But I think it's the debate that's sweeping
the nation right now, and I just don't get it.
Remember in the movie Big, I don't get it. I
don't get it. I just don't get it. What don't
you get? I don't understand how people's hate of the

(01:35):
Yankees is really clouding their logic. They're common sense. Judge
is your MVP. I don't care how many home runs
cal ralely hits. He's having a magical season. I think
cal Rale's great for Seattle. Congrats on their victory yesterday.
Congrats on his two home runs. By the way, Judge
also hit two home runs yesterday. Are you guys failing

(01:56):
to realize that Judge leads the mL B in almost
every other category? Gets how many categories cal Rai leads
the MLBN one home runs? If that was the be all,
end all, why didn't Judge win the MVP in twenty
seventeen when he gave it to al Tuve that turn,
you get a eddy. You keep forgetting this a whole

(02:17):
other side of the game. I don't know defense Catcher,
where Judge is also pretty stellar incubus style. Hold on,
I just huw. He's stellar in the outfield. You're acting
like this guy's some sort of slump. He made one
error last year and everyone keeps bringing that up. I
got so many reasons as to why it's so clearly Judge.
I need to understand why you think it's cal Raley
because he hit sixty home runs. You defending Judge. It's

(02:40):
like fighting with my wife about something where I know
I'm not gonna win. Get You're ridiculous. It's the it's
the debate that's sort of dividing the country right now.
And you know what, it's better than late night TV
and politics or anything else, so we might as well
leave into I'll be honest, this is way more fun
to vargue about. Judge has played forty percent of his
games this year at the DH position, which means he
has done nothing because he was hurt and he's still dominated.

(03:02):
He still led the team and when he's in the field,
not a gold Glover and cal Raley not only a
Gold Glover last year, he was a Platinum Glover, which
means the best overall defender. So did you hear what
I said before about Judge leading the major leagues in
everything major leagues? Cal Rawley leads the AL in RBI,

(03:23):
not the major leagues. He leads the major leagues in
home runs. And that's it. And you know what, and
people kissing his dumper, people kissing his ass, that's pretty sweet.
People hate the Yankees so much, you know, you're letting
it get in the way of the actual truth, which
is Aaron Judge is so exceptional and so great. You
should be embracing his greatness, not trying to tear him down,
just to lift up cal Raleigh. It's the conversation that

(03:44):
just keeps going on and on and on and again.
People just want to ignore the stats and hate on
the Yankees. That's really an and of course Judge fatigue,
which we pointed out throughout the week. Take take it,
Take a deep breath. We're gonna get to a bunch today.
We got a lot of NFL to talk about. Wild
card races are heating up. We got some food in
the studio, our buddies from Chili John's, my buddy Mike,

(04:06):
the oldest restaurant in burd Bank. They got the tap
room wings Chili Dog. Why do you think Iowa Sam
and Danny Gee are so quiet? They're eating wings over there?
That's true. Yeah, welcome super producer Danny g. What's that
any day?

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Actually? I saved my plate for after the show, all right?

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Eight seven seven? Yeah, he's taking some of the whole
family eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, Iowa Samuel
on the Ones and twos, DJ Sammy sweetheart Sam, How
good with those? Would you have? Tendy's.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I've had a bite of the Chili Cheese Dog excellent
so far. The tenders are great and the wings are great.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
That means greats really, Billy John's and Dan Yer is here.
You know what, Dan, You've been so kind and polite
with your take on cal Rawley. We were fighting about
it the other day and I noticed you sort of
sat back and let us fight.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yes, what are your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Your thoughts because I do value your thoughts tremendous. Yeah,
it's not that deep.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
I and I'll just say this, I will tend to
go to the guy that I don't think will win
it again. So if it's close, I'm going with cal Raleigh.
I think Judges. Judges won it. He'll always be in
the conversation cal Raley may but we don't know. I
just I always side with that, honestly, guys that do

(05:17):
it with the the NBA MVP, which I think that's
how they vote, and that may make people frustrated or mad.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
That's not a charity vote. I don't care, you know what,
I'll give it an Now, do you know when you
watch a fight UFC, your boxing, you have to judge
round by round and you can't go back and change
around because like it's like, oh, well, you know, that's
a closer fight than I thought. Maybe I'll go back
and give Canelo a round two. That's not how it works.
You judge around and you move on. Because I'll back
Kiving up on one and only point because I think

(05:44):
it's cal Raley that should win. But we can't not
give it to Judge because we're tired of him, and
like the joker in the NBA, he can't be like, oh,
he's already won a bunch, but they give it that.
They arguably did that to Laura Jackson last year when
they gave it to Josh Allen. Not that Josh Allen
didn't deserve it. It's like cal Raley doesn't deserve it.
But you could say that maybe Lamar Jackson won already,

(06:05):
so we'll give it to him. Dude, Judge deserves this.
I think that is pretty clear when you see that
he leads in almost everything, but.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
The previous years weren't a bar on what was and
what wasn't an MVP caliber season. And I say that
because Lamar's season last year passer wise, I believe is
fourth best in NFL history as a passer. That was
last season, so that I believe there are only three
other seasons that were better, couple by Aaron Rodgers. So

(06:35):
it's tough to argue against that if you're for Lamar.
But the bar that Josh Allen say passed when Lamar
won it two years ago, that tells me that his
campaign was worthy enough at that point to be a
Most Valuable Player. And if you see where these teams are,
specifically with the Mariners now winning the division, I think

(06:55):
that also lends to Raleigh and what he's done. So
that's where I go with it. I'm I disagree with Rich,
like Rich doesn't agree with my thinking, but I do
tend to go that way with this award.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
I can't say in that away from cal Rawley, but
you can't take that away from Judge either. The Yankees
would be doodo PI without his leadership, without him putting
up the numbers when he was hurt, those eight ten
games whatever, they were terrible. So he is that difference
maker for the Yankees as well. And what do they
always say about kl Rawley for a great ass, blah
blah blah for a catcher, great ass for a catcher,
home runs for a catcher. Dude? Since when please tell

(07:30):
me baseball fans, do we vote on some sort of
curve or give bonus charity sympathy votes because he's a catcher.
Since when is that part of the vote. I don't
think it's sympathy. I think what you're saying is Aaron
Judge played half the season on the on the you know,
sit on the bench playing DH and cal Rawley is
managing a pitching staff. Cal Raley has it was less

(07:52):
than him defensive defensively plays a part. And again the
Yankees are a playoff favorite every year, they the postseason regardless.
It seems right. Yeah, but that's why the Mariner against Judge.
Judge is a great guy for baseball, not that cal
Rawley's not a great story. And it's great to see
what he's doing. And I love the fact that he's
even making this a debate, and I love to see

(08:13):
what he did last night. I thought it was amazing
he hit his sixtieth. I thought he'd sit on fifty nine.
I really did, because I know so much pressure involved
with getting that one. More so he continues to impress.
I love what he's done for Seattle. I love what
he's done for baseball. But to me, it's so clear
that it's Judge.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Isn't isn't this in we don't want to talk to politics,
but isn't this h should the rich pay more taxes?

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Sort of argument?

Speaker 4 (08:35):
It really is like with like with like, there's just
more of a tax that Aaron Judge has to pay,
and he may have surpassed that. It may have paid
all of those taxes, but there are more benefits to
being a Yankee. The fact that cal Rally hit forty
eight home runs this year, he's not even coming close
to the to the conversation, which would have been a
magnificent season for him. But I think that in a way,

(08:56):
like there's a Yankee tax. In a lot of ways,
the being a Yankee is good. Here's one of the
ways where it's held against them.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Now, no, Spot, you're an expert in movie history, correct,
there have been times and hot wings. I'll go with
those wings. I mean Chili.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
I also took it by the way, I took a
tender and then I dipped it into the wings stuff
that was left.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Yeah, yeah, Chambire props again to Chili John's thanks for
the anniversary food appreciated, Fellas. Now, Spot, I want you
to give a long answer so I could eat while
you answer. But No, in movie history, there have been
times where someone wins an Academy Award not for their
best movie, but it's almost like a yeah, it's a
charity ward. It's like the you know, not the charity, like, well,

(09:40):
you know, you didn't win for this show. He wants
for this rich as someone deserving his expense, and that
would be Aaron Judge and he got robbed in twenty seventeen.
Like I said, I just don't understand cal Robbie. You
can't take away from being the home run leader, magical season,
MVP of the Mariners. Whatever award you want to give him,
Slugger Award, hank, Aaron Award, I don't care.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
Whatever.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Give him a high five, everybody give him a hug, right,
I sent him an edible arrangement. I don't think he's
better than Aaron Judge this year or whatever. Listen to
the call last night though, on cal Raley's sixtieth home run.
I want to hear the TV call because I feel
like the excitement was off the off the charts.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
On captures sixty home runs, your MVP moment like that.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
They got to throw a catcher in there a catchery day.
Aaron Judge is Franken sin Ass is sitting on the
bench waiting for his next at bat. Well, cal Raley
is squatting down managing a pitcher for sing on baseball
or catual baseball fans. Yeah, but he's he's painting this
picture as if like Aaron Judge is just the d H.

(10:55):
He got injured, he hurt his arm. Therefore, that's why
everyone's outfield impression of Aaron Judges running against the wall
or dropping of Baltimore because he's just the DH guys.
Let's let's get that guy here so so that we
can move on to wildcard baseball and other other thoughts. Oh,
it's it's been great, though, Rich, it is. It's great, man.
I love arguing with you about baseball. It's fun for me.

(11:16):
And I gotta say this again, I actually really like
cal RAI. I think he's a nice dude. I think
he's great for the team. He's fun to watch. He
was dominating the derby we were there. It was electric.
Not trying to take anything away from the guy. But
when you start trying to take something away from Judge
just because you like the story, that's gonna grind my goat. Yes,
I said grind my goat, combining two of your favorite phrases.

(11:39):
It gets my goat and grinds my gears. So, first
of all, don't we don't take for granted these cool moments.
We got to see Aaron Judge and Cal Rowley both
take batting practice up close at the MLB All Star
Game this year, and both of those guys, when you're
on the field five feet from them, and Kavino looked

(12:03):
out alto a next to him. He did next to them. Yeah,
it's it's pretty remarkable that these guys are mammots.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Right.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
My one last question before we get to some NFL
and some other baseball stuff. If Cal Rowley hits sixty
two and that surpasses or ties Aeron Judge with sixty
two or god forbid Cavino, he goes on a tear
of the final four games. If he ties or beats
Aaron Judge's al home run record, that's tough. Does he

(12:33):
not get the MVP in four games? Man, I'd have
to think about it a little harder.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
I would.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
That's pretty amazing. I think Aaron Judge should send you
an edible arrange because last year you were saying that
if there were one MVP, it would be Judge instead
of Otani. Thank god there's two, and we argued fifty
to fifty season you a cool cus like you just
love Aaron Judge. You know what's funny is I don't
even love Aaron Judge way. I love like a Derek
Jeter or so. It's just he's so undeniably good that

(13:02):
you take it for granted.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
You know.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
It's like, and we do that in life, and it's
a bad quality trade Honestly, I feel like it's a
bad character trait. Someone's extra kind and you start just
taking that for granted and you don't realize it's like
your wife. Truly, I don't think richish how wonderful his
wife is. My wife is the easiest person to be
her ouse and I don't best all the time, and

(13:24):
I don't notice it until I see someone else's, like
a buddy's wife bust their balls, and I'm like, oh,
you have to deal with that, right, So it's not
like he should get less of a recognition because he
consistently does it. You know, you guys are just bored
by it. That's on you. That's not fair. So your
thoughts continue to bring him. But after last night we

(13:44):
had to talk about it again. It was an incredible
night here. I am so excited that Judge hit two bombs,
only to see cal ralely hit his own two and
get to number sixty. It's a great time. We're approaching postseason,
ghost season. Embrace it, enjoy it, and watched the greats
to do their thing. So one more cal Raley thought,
did you see the dude that caught the sixtieth home

(14:06):
run ball? Handed it over to a kid. That is
my one exception. We've had this conversation over the years.
What do you do if you catch a ball? I
always say, if it's a random foul ball or homework,
give it to a kid. But I don't know. You
don't give away home run number sixty to a kid,
do you?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
No?

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Not a chance. That guy's a bigger man than me
for sure. And I don't mean height, I mean as
a person. No way, I'm keeping that ball all day.
Sixty home run. I mean you give away cal rally
home run number sixty and that's Raley that's judged. Two
guys that are tearing it up. Did you see what
happened earlier today? I hated this because as a Mets fan,

(14:44):
I'm hoping the Reds lose because they're right on the
Mets tail. The Mets have a one game lead, and
as you know, the Reds have the tiebreaker. Bottom of
the knife, I'm sorry, top of the knife. In Cincinnati.
Pittsburgh looks like they're about to tie up with a
home run to right field, and Marte jumps over the

(15:06):
fence and catches it and the game is over. Over
the fence, he swings high fly right.

Speaker 6 (15:12):
Field, Marte all the way back leaps at.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
The unreal.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
But dude, that's why we come in here so passionate
about this because every little thing matters right now. And
that was so cool, man, such a big moment, such
a big play. And it's that time of year again.
Last year was so fun with Dnyg's Dodgers. Your Mets
are still in it, My Yankees, the Mariners. I mean,
this is great man, great for everybody, great for sports,
great for baseball. And that play was incredible. But for

(15:48):
the record, he didn't jump like over the fence and
catch it. He jumped and leaves. Yeah, now he jumped
over the fence, not over, but yeah, it was amazing.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
It was amazing.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Well, hey, any feedback Baseball heating up football heading into
week four, eight, seven, seven, nine, nine on Fox.

Speaker 4 (16:04):
Just one final thing with this, guys, because I don't
care about the Mariners. I don't care about the Yankees.
But we don't want a co MVP, right, Like, we
don't want we don't want to tie.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
No, I don't. I'd rather rally win than a co envy,
do you know the co MVP? Like we wantn't even
we were a born hit do you remember. I believe
it was Willy Stargell and Keith Hernandez were co MVPs
one year, and I remember thinking, that's not a week saucege.
Can you double check um?

Speaker 7 (16:31):
Right?

Speaker 1 (16:32):
I think it was when he when Keith was on
the Cardinals. I think it was Willie and Keith were
co MVPs. And I'm like, well, that's sort of not awesome,
Like do you want to share an MVP or is
it you look back and say, well I won the MVP.
What do you always have to say? Share it? Yeah,
No one wants to tie and boxing, sharing awards, none
of that stuff. We don't want straws. We don't want ties.

(16:52):
We don't want to share MVP awards.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Seventy nine.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Seventy nine, the year I was born, the Willie Stargel
and Keith best mustache in town Hernandez tied it. That's wild.
I think his model alone should have put him over
the top. Anyone hear at the network get votes besides
Rob Parker. I know Rob Parker, a journalist. Anyone Oh,
by the way, so you can out Rob Parker who

(17:15):
dedicates his life to the MLB, Right, he's the MLB
bro says he completely agrees with me. One vote for Judge,
and by the way, no it's not it's not mine.
Someone get Jeff Pass. There's a part of me that
just wants to prepare everybody. I think if they come

(17:35):
with any sensical judgment here and leave their hate to
the Yankees aside, I really think Judge is gonna win this,
So I want to like put the fire out before
it even starts, like, don't be all sad when your
boy Raley doesn't win. That's really sort of my side here.
I really think Judge is gonna win.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
What I love about Covino's argument because it's true, and
it's it's not fake, it's not manufactured. Is It's not
that you're denying Cal Ray is having a bad season
or not a great season. It's just that everybody else
can't see the greatness of Judge. And I think that
that is that is that is an interesting angle that
we aren't appreciating truly what Aaron Judge has done because

(18:14):
we all think that it's so close, But in Covino's eyes,
it's not even close at all.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Dan Byron, he has sixty home runs, cal Ray and
Aaron Judge still beats him his slugging percentage, I know,
and war and everything else and everything else. There's really
not more I can say about it. And it's not
like he's some guy you're root against. He's like such
a likable guy for baseball. Honestly, I think it's a

(18:39):
little kind of productive for Baseball to not give him
the award. He's the guy that want. He's the dude
that you want. It's like the Lakers not making the playoffs,
like you want that. You want Aaron Judge to be
that guy, she says you is show hate, not the
guy in the NL. Aaron Judge is that guy for
the al for the MLB.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
But you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (19:00):
I do love the analogy that in other areas of
your life, it doesn't always need to be a wife
or a girlfriend, but you could have a bus that's
a pretty cool buss and you don't realize, you know,
he's an easy guy or easy woman to work for,
until you then work for a pain in the ass
and you're like, oh man, that person was pretty awesome.
And I know what you're saying. Aaron Judge is so

(19:21):
automatic to hit three twenty three thirty fifty home runs
and it's almost like yeah, yeah, yeah, another fifty home
run season or whatever, which, by the way, is fourth
and he's an elite company to do that, to have
four fifty plus home run seasons. I think it was
Barry Bonds, Sosn maguire or Babe Ruth. Right, those are
the only people, you know what, I'm not mistaken. I

(19:42):
want to let's take these phone calls and during the break,
I'm gonna post a video on our Instagram at Covine
on Rich. There's a video that I think Cavino how
do I say this? On Fox Sports Radio he watches
when he's alone. It's a video when we're at the
batting cage and Aaron Judge stops his swing, looks back
and waves at Cavino because I told him. I told

(20:03):
him like he's he's opening up too far and he's
like yeah, yeah, So I gave him some advice. I'll
post that on our ig story at Covin on Rich.
So let's go to Ryan and Seattle. Ryan, you're on
with cn R. What's up?

Speaker 8 (20:16):
Man, Hey, guys, how you doing. I just wanted to
bring up the historical reference for what cal Rawley's doing
versus Judge. I respect Judge loves the average, the runs,
home runs, everything like the Ops. But Raleigh with the
pass in Mickey Mantle for the switch hitter and well
over it also the catching record.

Speaker 9 (20:39):
Yeah, just destroying that.

Speaker 8 (20:41):
So the historical reference for Raleigh is pretty amazing. I
love baseball. I am a Mariners fan. I respect everything
what Judge is doing, but I love the historical significance
of what Rawley's doing.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Hey, great call, Ryan. I love the fact that we're
all this passionate about I was just gonna say the
fact that where while we do talk mostly NFL because
NFL is king, I'm such a big baseball fan, so
I love when everyone's involved. Let's go a trip in Vegas.

Speaker 10 (21:07):
Hey trip, Hey guys, thanks for taking my call. I'll
give you a few points real quick. You're gonna and
caveno yeah, always my boy. So batting average and then
they're pitching to Raley he bats two forty eight, who
leads the entire not American League baseball. Judge, And here's

(21:29):
another thing that you're gonna laugh about. It's like Ray
Allen when you're in Seattle, you're liking witness protection. Nobody
knows they're even going to the playoffs. They didn't even
know he could play until he got.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
The Boston for So you're saying people have been pitching
trying to pitch around Judge for years now and they
just can't. That's a point, Darren, Judge, Stu in Vegas,
wrap this up for now.

Speaker 11 (21:48):
It's up to I agree that I think sometimes you
ignore the person like Lebron probably lost four MVPs. But
I think in this because of how much the where
in care of playing.

Speaker 9 (22:01):
A catcher on you.

Speaker 7 (22:03):
I don't think you've ever done it, and I have
and it sucks. So maybe if Aaron was hit sixty
and he had two two pound weights on each leg,
that would maybe be the overall effect of how where
worn down you get.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
Bro, I get tired, I get tired around. I warm
up a kid in little league when I'm coaching for
five minutes on my knee, you know, getting a craft position.
I'm like most of us who played sports didn't play
catcher because we didn't want to. Yeah, that's that is true,
as uh you know, as coach Rich the number one
coach in the valley. Yeah, to get a kid to
want to catch at any young level, you have to
be like, come on, kids, who wants to catch It's

(22:39):
not easy. We're gonna take the rest of your phone calls.
Everybody's talking, especially after that magical night last night they
both hit two home runs. They're trying to out to
each other. Hey, Danny J just want to give you
a bro hug and a high five and say thank
you Dodgers for whooping Arizona seventh INNY eighth nothing.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah, and to clinch the NL West.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
Oh dude, this is and about to put my Mets
up one and a half on the Diamondbacks. Now, I
just got gotta get rid of the pesky Reds. These
games have been so exciting and what happened in Seattle
last night was amazing. Congrats to them, Congrats to Raleigh.
Yankees clinched this week and it's been a fun one.
Thank you guys for hanging out with us. Covino and

(23:23):
Rich I really do radio, I really do hope that
you know, we love football as much as everyone and
we're going to get to the NFL. But I just
hope that people sharing our baseball love and excitement, especially
during this time of year, because even if you're a
casual baseball fan when there's four games left and like
multiple divisions and wild cards aren't set yet, it is
so close, feel it's it feels like postseason baseball. I

(23:46):
was watching on MLB this morning. I'm watching the reds
Pirates game in September.

Speaker 9 (23:52):
Like what am I doing?

Speaker 1 (23:53):
But you know, fans know that every at bat, every hit,
every pitch, every error, everything matters. This time, I'm a year.
It's not not even at the postseason. It's the closest
we've seen it in years. And I do want to
say this too because I'm the one campaigning for Judge
right now. Yeah, I think it's amazing the impact count
Rawley has had on baseball fans all over the world

(24:16):
in this year, and what he's done for baseball is incredible.
I think he's incredibly likable and how he's brought this
team there, Like, I can't say enough about the dude.
I just don't think he's the MVP. It's as simple
as that. But I think he's incredibly great And that
goes without saying. But you know what he's done for
the sport. I could do nothing but tip my Aaron
Judge Yankee hat and say a great job. So it's

(24:38):
not from a hateful place. I think he's fantastic. Lgolf's
good good. Did you know what that's wrong? By the way,
anyone in the quick quiz when Cavino goes that's good,
that's good, really good. Come on, everybody knows that's not
Joe Libre. I thought he was doing like a like
an LG tagline. He goes, dude, this is not.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I thought you were doing. Earnest goes to camp.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
Really good, real good. Fall twenty five's the code bring
the boom x boom lives GOODLG dot com. And as
we wrap up the baseball talk, I am guilty of
something I make fun of Cavino for us, I'll raise
my hand and say, we went out for a nice
dinner with a friend that was in town last night,
and I had the Dodgers Diamondbacks game on my phone
and I felt bad having it go on. But again,

(25:22):
like I said, it's the excitement. Is three fourteen left? Like, man, yeah,
this you know great, It's great stuff, and that's why
we love sports. Takes your mind off the nonsense. Isn't
it much more fun to debate rally and judged and
some of the other things you're hearing in the news. Yeah,
that's true. It's way fun and that's why we love
it and thank you guys. Now, in about fifteen minutes,
we do old school and fifty hits. We throw it back,

(25:42):
and we're gonna talk about people striking gold. I don't
mean oh baby Gold, I don't mean rich is forty
nine ers. I'm talking about you found success more than
once in your industry, in multiple industries.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
We'll explain.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Yeah, let's say hi to David and Kentucky. What's up, David?

Speaker 2 (26:00):
What's up?

Speaker 12 (26:00):
Guys? Hey, buddy, Hey, I have a It's not really
about the MVP debate, but I do want to mention
this and twenty two when Judge was chasing Maris to
break his record after sixty one years, it was the
most talked about thing, you know where we're going crazy
about it. Their stopping game showing this. This guy in

(26:20):
Seattle is generating to beat his record, you know, in
the non steroid era. And you know, I hear comments, man,
he just hit sixty home runs, So what I mean?
I mean, Babe, Ruth has only hit sixty homes credit.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
You gonna be thinking about that, babe, Ruth. And you
know what Aaron Judges record is, what sixty two? Sixty two? Yeah,
this guy's two away from tying Judge four games. Hey, listen,
baseball's been around since I think life was in black
and white, right, since life was in black and white.
And you know the home run record in the American
League sixty two done by your dude, Aaron Judge, and
it was the biggest deal in the world. Cal Rawley

(26:55):
hits three over the next four games.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
I don't want to root against the guy, a right,
but I don't want to see him Judge. I get it,
Thank you, David. Let's go to Nate in New York State.
What's up, Nate the Great?

Speaker 9 (27:07):
What's up buddy?

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Hey man?

Speaker 12 (27:08):
No, two quick things.

Speaker 13 (27:10):
So Judge has been walked intentionally walked about thirty three
thirty four times this year, and.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
That's why he's on base percentage in higher than.

Speaker 13 (27:17):
Well, that's also why you've got to figure he's getting
walked in high leverage situations where the guy's on base,
that's going to level up the RBI's right there, Homers,
you never know what that But also if the Yankees
win the al E, does that not put him at top.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
That's a great question, right if the Dodger of Dodgers,
If the Blue Jays hang on and the Yankees are
a wild card, I think that's a little strike again
some heal the Yankees battle back since judgment healthy again
and make you the Yankees a little that's a great
that's a great thought there. If the Yankees, who are
tied right now, they're tied down with the blue Jays,
Let's say they win the Al East. That's bragging rights

(27:55):
for Judge. Let's say they win and Rally doesn't get
sixty three. If probably gets sixty three and the Yankees don't, like,
how do you bounce that? I made the boxing analogy before. Yeah,
dare I say this weekend series coming up the final
three games, would you compare it to the championship rounds
of boxing? Where if the Yankees fail and are the
wild card, or if Judge hits like three bombs and

(28:16):
the Yankees end up in first place, or what if
the Mariners you know, you know, stumble to the playoffs
and Rally has a bad weekend? Does it matter you
looking at it like the championship rounds? Well, remember postseason
shouldn't count it doesn't hit p so I won't count that,
but what happens from in the next four games might
play a big factor. And by how close everything those

(28:37):
those videos are rally and Judge, I will post it
a couple of minutes after DB's update. I forgot too
because I was eating wings. I'm just being honest. Hey,
we're celebrating three years and remember the party continues tomorrow,
so join us. Let's take one more right now. Talk
to a Reds fan Vegas, Pete, what's up?

Speaker 14 (28:54):
Man?

Speaker 15 (28:55):
My guys?

Speaker 2 (28:56):
What's up? Buddy?

Speaker 16 (28:57):
Yo?

Speaker 1 (28:57):
You and I are enemies for the next couple of days,
but you're Red save that game today?

Speaker 6 (29:01):
Hum?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Marte?

Speaker 15 (29:02):
Oh you know what, man, It's the strangest thing with
those guys. They will beat the good teams only to
get smacked around by like Pittsburgh and the A's a
couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Well, I mean, dare I say, Pete, I was talking
to some of my Met fan buddies, and I'm like, Reds, Diamondbacks, Mets,
we can't expect any of these teams. They're all on
pace for like eighty three eighty four wins. So like
when my buddy's like all the Reds are gonna sweep whoever.
I'm like, the Reds ain't sweeping anyone. The Mets aren't
sweeping anyone. These teams are average. We're just hoping to make,
you know, magic in the playoffs, like the teams that

(29:33):
are fighting for these final wild cards. You can't say
you're great if you're an eighty four win team, right,
what's up, Pete?

Speaker 11 (29:39):
Real quick?

Speaker 15 (29:40):
On the MVP, guys, everybody's saying, Oh, it's a regular
season blah blah blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
We get it.

Speaker 15 (29:47):
Can you name one person right now that should be
considered an MVP that's not in the playoff contention? I mean,
come on, guys, I mean think about it. Of course
you're gonna get the MVP to the player for the team,
right yep. Well that it makes a lot of sense
because the guys that are front runners have put their
teams in a position to be in the playoffs i e.

(30:10):
World Series, I E.

Speaker 12 (30:12):
MVT.

Speaker 15 (30:13):
I mean, god, guys, it's not Rocket signed.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
They got it. Helps Yeah, but I mean Deans is
gonna probably be your SIJA. That is a weak ass team.

Speaker 7 (30:21):
He is.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
The EURA is under two to finish the season. Let's
go to dB for an update. Damn Bayer, what's up man? Adb?

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Guys.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
The Dodgers, with the wins today can clinch the NL
West and they're on their way up eight nothing on
the Diamondbacks show Hey o Tani home run number fifty
four for Rich's sake. Arizona started the day, came back
of the Mets for the final wild card in the NL,
and right now on the track to fall a game
and a half back. Entering tonight, the Reds are a
half came back, as you mentioned, surviving that game against
the Pirates.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Today Cincinnati gets.

Speaker 2 (30:50):
The win two to one.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
Is Nuelvie Marte rob Bryan Reynolds of a game time
home run with one out in the top of the
ninth inning. The Astros right now are a game back
of the Tigers for the final while card in the AL.
Right now, the Astros are on top of the A's
nine to one in the bottom of the sixth inning
in Sacramento. Ryder Cup gets underway tomorrow morning. The Forsom's
pairings have been announced. At seven ten Eastern. Bryson de

(31:12):
Shambo and Justin Thomas team up for the USA against
John Rahm and Terrel Hatton on Team Europe. Another match
to watch in the morning, Rory McElroy and Tommy Fleetwood
will pair up for Team Europe against Colin Morikawa and
Harris English.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
In the NFL.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Commander's wide receiver Terry McLaurin is the second straight practice today,
as did Commanders running back to Corey Krosskey Merritt. Jayden
Daniels was limited for the Commanders as the quarterback tries
to return from his knee injury. Jet said coach Aaron
Glenn said that quarterback Justin Fields would start Monday against
the Dolphins if he clears concussion protocol. Fields practice today,
but as yet to clear protocol. Panthers wide receiver Ted

(31:49):
McMillan returned to practice after sitting out yesterday with a
calf injury. Seahawks and Cardinals tonight eight fifteen Eastern Time.
Seahawks running back Zach Charbonning expected to play despite being
questionable with the foot injury, and some Niners News had
coached Kyle Shanahan said on Cambi earlier today that brock
Party looked really good in practice yesterday.

Speaker 1 (32:08):
Good speaking of the guy, Your MVP All Rise for
Homer fifty swing on hit the center field.

Speaker 17 (32:20):
Hitting well, it's slicinging, it's carry getting up bad, gone
into the booth.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Fans three run Homer Aaron Judge number fifty and that's
the fourth time he's hit fifty one more home runs
in a season.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
All the rod, you know. And people feel that way
about o Tani fifty four props to him. Mind me
how many cole Brably got last night? Sixty? Oh, just checking.
That's courtesy of Yankees Radio Network and that was our

Tyraq has been helping customers find the right tires for how,

(32:56):

let's go there's a certain yea. What we gonna do
is go back.

Speaker 16 (33:14):
Back into time, throwing it back for a Thursday, Old
School went fifty hits. That's fifty after CNR give you
the time capsule topic and we reminisce together.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
Yeah, okay, here's the situation. My parents went away on
the week's Space station. In No, here's the situation, guys,
Old School Went fifty Hits is our way of throwing
it back and reminiscing on a Thursday, but getting you involved,
like we always do. The most inclusive show on radio.
On National Daughters Day, by the way, as girl dads,

(33:48):
we say shout out to all the dads out there
and all the daughters. Corbino and Rich eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox, I'm quoting Will Smith when I say, Okay,
here's the situation. It's Will Smith's birthday shot and nah,
I don't like the guy, to be honest, and I'll explain,

(34:08):
but he's fifty seven today, and regardless of how I
feel about him and the slap heerd around the world
and Chris Rock and all that, he's done something pretty
remarkable that not a lot of people can claim they've done.
I'm singing parents, just and understand. That was my first
introduction to Will Smith. I thought you were gonna say
in West Philadelphia, I'm born and raised because even before

(34:28):
the show, he was making rap songs and winning Grammy
Awards for rap.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
He's the DJ on the rapper.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
Yeah, he was making music so he made it in music,
he made it on TV, and guess what he made
it in the movies. That's a triple threat. He struck
gold three times. He's an elite category, an elite category
of three times. Props to Will Smith, regardless of my
personal feelings. Now, when you think about Will Smith, you're

(34:58):
not a dodger. You think of you think of guys
like Jamie Fox that could sing and dance and act
and you know, sing and rap and everything. There's people
that have had success in multiple arenas. So here's where
we go with this on Old School and fifty hits.
Who are those triple threats? Who are those people that,
as we're calling it, struck gold more than two times.

(35:23):
That it's a tough category because there's so many people
that you can be like, well they did this, and
that one comes to mind right away, and that's your
absolutely stallone, absolutely because think about it. He has three franchises,
more than three franchises, Rocky Movies, The Expendables Rams, you

(35:47):
know what I mean. Like, that's incredible in itself. Sylvester
Sloan's in that category. So you found success more than
more than once, more than twice. Who comes to mind.
It's a great question in sports. You know he went
from player to broad caster to blank entrepreneur. Whatever comes
to mind. You got to hit us up now at
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's gip some
props and wish Will Smith a happy birthday. Here you go,

(36:08):
I got lots of answers. Let's hear yours next. I
just wolfed down a chili cheese dog from your buddy's place.
Oh you know what, instead of me repeating it, Iowa, Sam,
tell Rich what you told me?

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
If the entire first hour, all I was thinking about
was getting to break so that I could eat the
chili cheese dog, I wasn't.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Listening when anything you're saying I didn't want. I was like,
go to break. Why is it going so long? All
I want is four minute increment where I could go
eat cheese dog.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
And by the way, it smells like chili and onions
in here right. I wolfed down a bunch of chili.
We're celebrating the other day. Tomorrow is our big three
year anniversary. We're gonna have tons of fun tomorrow. Danny
Cheese preparing all sorts of giveaways and moments. But I
know the feeling of you just want to dive into
whatever it is that's sitting there.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
The whole time. I can't eat something like that.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
I can't hit the board, period, but something like that,
you definitely know I feel that way all the time.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
I have to thank the guy from Chili John's because
yes there, not only for their delicious food and the
magnificent wings, but because of the great aroma of the food.
It overshadowed big mic microwaving shrimp about three hours ago.
It stunk up the entire chittionenaria in the hall way.
That's great, so thank goodness that they came to me.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
But I know that feeling that Sam describes, where you're
just like all day you're just waiting to dive into
whatever it is that you have brought to watch.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
Shrimp is on the list of bro Yes, it's work
for a commonplace microwave. He he admitted he was in
the wrong after he did it. Yes, yes, after he
was eating a shrimp.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Oh, I could see why this would be offensive to others.
I'll tell you something else.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
While you know Sam was distracted, because Sam's usually right
on point with the applause at the start of the
show right at the start, and there is this little
bit of pause and I don't know if he was
licking his fingers or if he was.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
Down something, but because I got a little get's a
little greasy, so trying to get it over the board,
so I was sniffing it. Well, guys, is Thursday. Thank
you for hanging out with us. We're all excited about baseball.
We're gonna talk NFL, but we always reminisce on Thursdays

(38:18):
old school when fifty hits and it's Will Smith's birthday. Now,
why don't I like Will Smith? I don't like what
he did the Chris Rock I just never really liked it. No, man,
I hated that, like you don't even know, Like I
thought that was such a bully moment, like get yourself together.
Everything about that bothered me. You see the way Jada
Pinkett Smith emasculates him at times, I feel like he

(38:40):
just has a lot of pent up something. Hey, you know,
I wish him I had a birthday, because the guy's
been a major part of our lives, whether you like
him or not, for how many years?

Speaker 12 (38:49):
Now?

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Bro, you knew that dude the Lady Independence Day Fresh
Prince and getting jiggy with it alone will make up
for the slap if you asked me, so, hey, he's
fifty seven today. But regardless of my personal feelings, you
can't take away his success and the fact that the
guy did it in music, TV and movies. So triple

(39:11):
Druss struck gold more than once. If you could think
of people that struck gold three times even better? Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I'm gonna give you
one more rich before we You know, I don't want
to take anyone's answer, So let's go. Let's go to
the phones first eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
People who either did what Will Smith has done, which

(39:31):
is not a lot of them, or struck gold more
than once?

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Do you got?

Speaker 1 (39:35):
Let's ahead of Josh in Ohio? Hey, Josh, what's up?

Speaker 18 (39:39):
Kings of Nostalgia?

Speaker 1 (39:40):
What up? What up?

Speaker 18 (39:42):
I actually have two triple threats. One is legit and
one is kind of an honorable mention. First one was
a champion amateur wrestling, professional wrestling and UFC my Man Brockleisner.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Yeah, answer, great answer. The guy did it on an
entertainment level, an actual level, and a collegial level. All right,
I mean look at it that way. A little answer
for sure. And recent photos. I'm sure you saw him
if you're a fan, like, he's still in great shape.
He looks older, but he's like incredibly fit still and
yeah and Josh, who was your yes as by the way,

(40:15):
kids cried when he was whooping John senas as you
saw that?

Speaker 18 (40:18):
Yeah, ye honorable mentioned uh college basketball, professional wrestling, and
the Oscar Worthy film Knuckles Heads all White, The Big Show, I'm.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
A Big Show. He's giving some love to the Big Show.
That's awesome. You can do. I'll accept it. Do you
remember what Big Show said to me when we interviewed him.
He Big the Big Show told Cavino get over here.
My goodness, look at those little burger king hands you
have because you got little hamburger hands. I was like,
what he's like you ever seen a Burger commercial? I
was like, what are you talking about? And then the
rest of the day can he was like, my hands,

(40:49):
that's but he's a monster, like you know, he is
a monster Big Show?

Speaker 2 (40:54):
All right?

Speaker 1 (40:55):
Thanks for the call man eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. I can I even one. I don't want
to an answer, but okay, you know what let's let's
in the controvert to David in Chicago. It's up, Dave, Dave.

Speaker 9 (41:07):
Hy, guys, how you doing.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
We're good man, what's your answer? Who's uh? Who's Will Smith? Smith?
Level threat?

Speaker 7 (41:13):
Well?

Speaker 9 (41:13):
I like the way you guys mix it up, not
just sports. And you said, you know entrepreneurs possibly and uh,
this guy is part of your promo for your show
on Fox Sports Radio. And uh, he says, I don't
know if they know what the f they're doing.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
But he was a.

Speaker 9 (41:29):
Construction mogul, a billionaire in New York, the Heavy, the
TV hit show The Apprentice, he married a supermodel, and
he's been president twice.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
You can't take away love oh Tani o, hey Otani listen?
Love him or hate him? Deny Trump is in this
conversation movie star home alone too. Yeah, they're lost in
New York. So wait, who said recently that he's incredible actor?
They didn't care for his politics, but he's probably dredible actor.

Speaker 2 (41:55):
No, No, it's.

Speaker 9 (42:01):
No.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
Someone said recently that worked through him like a who
wasn't that he's really good at what he does.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
Twelve.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
Well, that's a great answer, whether you like him or not.
I agree with you.

Speaker 6 (42:13):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
He just can't say to his name, that's that all
that will always get hung up on to tag o
Volley of Dave in Chicago, Dave will Smith, Happy birthday?
Who's a triple thread Will Smith's style? Dave?

Speaker 2 (42:31):
That was Dave? Oh that was Dave.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
I'm sorry Minnesota Tea is there? What's up Minnesota?

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Ta Hey?

Speaker 14 (42:37):
Man, this is my first I'm doing this. Man, I'll
be hearing all the time heading home from work.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 14 (42:44):
The first the person I have two that The first
person I was going to say that probably people are
not going to say is ice Cube because he produced
movies and he made good hits and also you know
classic he screen wrote movies as well, and.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
Oh yeah, and then Big three. I think that's a
great answer, dude, I would have forgot that one. Sad one,
that's fantastic. What's your other one?

Speaker 14 (43:06):
And then I had Hornible mentioned. I mean, he didn't
have a long time to live, but he was on
a high road to go somewhere. And I would saying tupashakor.

Speaker 1 (43:12):
Great answer, I mean Tupac who knows what he would
have done an actor, And you're saying the third would
have been he was a great actor.

Speaker 18 (43:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
By the way, speaking of it, was Woody Allen who
just last month came out and said that Donald Trump
was a very good actor. He said, didn't agree with
his politics, he said, but when he directed him in
the nineteen ninety eight film Celebrity Like, he was like
a natural at it. So that's why I was thinking,
love him or hate him. Even when he's on a microphone,
he's he's like funny intentionally or not. I got one
that I want to throw out there because lines are lit,

(43:43):
because I think this guy's not only a triple threat.
I think he might be like quadruple quintuple threat. A
guy that he even does a trivia on our show
here on Fox Sports Radio, Shaquille O'Neill. Yeah, I got
him written to that too. Basketball star, great broadcaster, entrepreneur,
rapper and who knows what that I could do an

(44:04):
actor story of my life, buddy forget uh Shazam is
honestly it goes on because movie roughly fifty restaurant locations,
forty fitness centers, one hundred and fifty car washes, formerly
owned one hundred and fifty five five guy locations. He

(44:24):
owns Papa John's, Andy Ann's, Krispy Kremes, movie theaters, nightclubs,
like the dudes got.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
To hang out, Sophia.

Speaker 1 (44:33):
Yeah, he's he's really an incredible guy that uh, I
think we don't. By the way, that's seven hundred and
fifty guys. I did the Mathif he has one hundred
and fifty five guys, that's a lot of interested in
that I think is the guy we do take for granted,
like he's he's an exceptional record dude, and you know who,
I'm gon putting that category not for it nothing, Oh boy.

(44:54):
I think Tom Brady's in that category too. Football especially
now announcer flag football player with a seventy five million
dollars TV twelve with TV twelve all his fitness stuff.
A guy we saw pivot and we saw his whole
career go from football to announcer to partial owner. Yeah,
you know, and that's incredible. Tom Brady's definitely in that cat.

Speaker 2 (45:15):
That's a good one. I have one. I don't think
any caller is going to say it. Fans are a
little turned off right now because when he's doing concerts
he's making the crowd sing most of his words. But
justin Timberlake obviously big hit boy band, huge solo career,
and then acting Alpha Dog. I love that movie.

Speaker 1 (45:31):
He's a good actor.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
Yeah, and then even in business like his fashion brand
and record label.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
He bought my Space at one point too. He did
tried to revamp, revamp, but yeah, he's he's a business guy.
Timberlake's a good answer. I'll get I'll give one TV example,
and then we'll go back to your phone calls. I'll
get perhaps to an actress who struck gold three times.
It's hard to be on multiple hit shows. We always
give Ed O'Neil credit because Modern Family and Married with

(45:58):
Children are equally legendary shows like Jay Pritchett and Al Bundy, like,
that's that's two. I did that too, though, Katie, what
you're gonna say is someone that has done Sons of Anarchy,
Futurama Children and and there's others too. That's pretty. But
I was gonna say, Katy Sigal And there's another woman
that deserves props, and that's what I call her.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Last year though, Katie Segel or something I remember. I
couldn't get her last name down. You know what you
were embarrassing? You said Katie, Uh, chili dogs, it's done,
It's gone. I mean the salad. Now, who are you
thinking of?

Speaker 2 (46:33):
Rich chili Doug?

Speaker 1 (46:35):
I would say your name wrong because you you and
I confuse it. Elaine from Seinfeld, Oh, Julia, Richard Dreyfus,
Julia Louis Dreyfus, Yeah, say Richard Dreyfus, Julia Richard, Yes,
she had Seinfeld, Julia Louis Old Adventures of News and
then v Yes. And you know, I just think that's
when you think it is to make one hit, right,

(46:58):
even to get the opportune Let's say you get in opportunity,
then it's got a hit. So for her to have three,
because that's incredible. There there's a handful of people that
are as I call them double doozies. Just the other
day was the anniversary it was I called Neil Patrick
Harris day. Would you believe Doogie Howser and How I
Met Your Mother both came out on the same day.

(47:18):
That must be the best day of this dude's life.
And he did movies and he was in Dexter recently
he was in Dexter. He does you know Broadway stuff.
So maybe Neil Patrick Harris could be in this category's
a triple threat talent for sure. I agree, yeah, no doubt.
All right, let's go to Eric and Iowa. You're all
a convenion Rich who's just talented all across the board.
In honor of Will Smith fifty seven today, what's up?

Speaker 2 (47:38):
Man?

Speaker 7 (47:40):
I would go with the guy who hit the Jack
Parker artists, and that would be o J.

Speaker 1 (47:44):
Simpsons dude, football player after murderer. Yeah, but no, before
all the you know, before things went bad for a
rental James, he was spokesman, actor, football player, TV star yea.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
So not just for Hurts but also for Chicken out
here in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (48:05):
I mean, OJ OJ was the as they pointed out
in all these documentariescause there's a million of them and
I've watched them all back then, like he was the
most trusted African American man, even like alone like racist
people that are like, yeah, but I like OJA. Everybody
he crossed over to every demo, even like I said,
even like racist, terrible people liked oj And then he
goes and does that. All right, let's go to Mike

(48:27):
in Illinois. Mike, you're on with coven On Rich. What's up, buddy, Hey.

Speaker 13 (48:31):
Guys, it's always a pleasure to be on your show.

Speaker 15 (48:34):
Day.

Speaker 1 (48:34):
Appreciate you.

Speaker 12 (48:35):
Man, what's up one of these days and I'm gonna
win a swingie or a mall or something. But anyways,
for now, I just want to throw out the name
Joe Gibbs.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
Joe Gibbs a very involved in the in the racing
industry and of course Super Bowl winning champion multiple times.
I got one and no one's gonna say oh in
honor of Will Smith, triple threat, Eddie Murphy hear Me Up,
comedy comedian, tv SNL, movie star and a hit single

(49:10):
My Girls to Putty all the Time, Puddy all the Time,
Buddy all the time. Come on man, Rick James produced that.
So Eddie Murphy definitely, you know what, because before Jamie
Fox made that legitimate where you could be actor but
make legitimate songs, Ednie Murphy was trying. He could have
done more legitimate music because he could actually sing. But

(49:31):
I guess, you know, he was so wound up in
the movie world that I didn't have time for it.
I got one that you're gonna say, yo for real,
but it's it's true. She is a reality star. She
has product lines, she is an heiress. She has made

(49:54):
hit singles in pop radio, and she had an adult
film tape that people watching the two thousands. Paris Hilton,
she's done a.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
Lot and you know where her songs really hits.

Speaker 1 (50:05):
She had one big hit, Stars Are Blind. That was
a big that was a hit in the world. But
you know what, do you know what's funny?

Speaker 6 (50:11):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (50:11):
I don't know if you know anything. You know how
there's certain artists that don't translate here but are big overseas.
You know, Paris Hilton is still huge in Asia, and
Hasselhoff is huge in Germany. Why he might be in
this conversation. Night Rider, bay Watch, Move, He's in a
bunch of movies, but he's a huge musician. You know Germany.

(50:33):
Jump in My Car, that's a big song. Take he's
on the borderline of it. He hit it big, hit Jump.
He hit it big with night Rider and bay Watch.
Those are two internationally big shows. He played a default
the Berlin Walk.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
He's also quite the devourer of cheeseburgers. I think he
did a viral with that. I think he's doing better now,
drunk on the floor eating a cheeseberg.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
His daughter. He was in the movie Click.

Speaker 4 (51:03):
I saw Hasselhoff at the Chili's up the streets and Encino,
and this is when I first moved out here, and
he was with his daughters and he was so good
with them that no matter what he ever does, like
he was just being like a dad, like in like
the embarrassing dad.

Speaker 1 (51:19):
That's cool to hear.

Speaker 4 (51:19):
Yeah, So no matter what he does, I'll always think
back to that point. So that Hamburger video, yeah, and
that was not the best kind of got sabotaged there.

Speaker 1 (51:27):
I mean, who was a Hamburger drunk?

Speaker 9 (51:28):
Come on?

Speaker 1 (51:29):
But I think it Wendysburg. I think it's down playing
how big Baywatch was though.

Speaker 2 (51:35):
With Sammy Chili Duck.

Speaker 1 (51:36):
Yeah, there's a video I love David hanself.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
Oh if I could have filmed that, you know, Kevino
and I it was disgusting.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
Did a History Channel special with Hasselhoff the Best TV
and Movie Cars. If you look online you can find
I could post it, and I mean if I'll post it,
Covino and Rich so you can see it's actually a
lot of fun. Where do we go next? Danny J?
Phoenix Phoenix, Hello, Chris, how are you man? What's up?
What's your answer?

Speaker 10 (52:04):
I got three really, Arnold Palmer, Roger Stabach and Junior Bridgeman.

Speaker 1 (52:11):
You know, you're making me think some other ways too,
which is kind of cool. It is Fox Sports Radio
when you say triple threats because of everything that Will
Smith brought to the table in entertainment. You know, I
love the answer of Dave Winfield being drafted not only
by the Padres but in NBA and in the NFL. Like,
that's that's a triple threat right there, man, Arnold Palmer, it.

Speaker 4 (52:33):
Would be Verst playing ability as a golfer for his
business acumen and that's just for the just drink, just
for the drink.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Did he actually make the beverage or was just someone
be like he got served it and he was like
I like this and then they turned into something.

Speaker 1 (52:49):
Either way, it spawn from him. Yeah, I clean your
greasy fingers off and go google that. Actually. But you
know why, you know what, it is a tough conversation, guys.
It's tougher than we think because back in the day,
if you remember, if you were a TV star, good
luck being a movie star. So when guys like Michael J.
Fox or Will Smith did that, it was few and

(53:09):
far between, because if you were if you were viewed
as a TV star, you really had a tough time
making it in the movies. So hitting it big in
entertainment three different ways, like that the way Will Smith did.
That's rare company, very rare company. Oh by the way, Dodgers,
Oh boy, they're taking photo team photos.

Speaker 2 (53:30):
They dive in backfield.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
By the way, I was, I had to look this up.
Do you remember the joke? And we also Happy Gilmore too?
By now Happy Gilmore Too. The joke was, uh, they
go up to Jack Nicholas and they go Arnold Palmer
and he goes, no, Jack Nicholas, but thanks right, like
he made something.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
By the way, Arnold Palmer would ask for that drink,
and so it just became related to his name.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Dude, that's awesome for guys like Dion Sanders and Bo
Jackson because they were both successful in college. Would that
count college? Pro, NFL and baseball?

Speaker 1 (54:01):
I think, like Dion, I think is an answer said football,
baseball and now coaching, right, I mean Bo Jackson and
he does a lot of archery.

Speaker 9 (54:09):
Archery.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
Have you seen Bo Jackson archer? Bo Jackson in video games?

Speaker 4 (54:12):
I'm really giving to the to the people who are
three areas that are different, like playing and coaching sometimes together,
and like those sort of things like if you're just
a great athlete like bo Jackson is, maybe he got
two out of the three just right out of the
gate because of how greatness, how great you are. But
like some of like I thought, Shaq was a just

(54:34):
a great answer, and ice cube was a great answer
as well, because.

Speaker 1 (54:37):
How about Forrest Gump. He was a track star, football
star and he was and Bubba Gump, you had a
lot of great play. I mean, my brother just found
out that wasn't a true story, so I wanted to
make that clear. You know, football star too, track star runner. Yeah,
oh he was, uh you know, helped that young black

(54:58):
woman into the school. So he was a U like
a pioneer inventor two. He came up with that bumper sticker. Remember,
Oh yeah, let me let me give you, Let me
give you one if you can, let me give you
a third layer.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
You're so dumb, Mike, Big Mike would love Big Mike
would love uh, you know Forrest Gump's uh you know, shrimp.

Speaker 1 (55:17):
Bubba gumrid heat up in the microwave answer. So I
love Bubba, especially here. Danny G would know because he
built his radio career in the world of hip hop.
But I'm pretty certain Will Smith won the first Grammy
Award in raft He sure did. Yeah that Danny built

(55:39):
his ready career like light f M with more Celenda.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
We used to play this song right here, brand New
Funk at the roller skating rink in Rialto, California when
we were little kids, and it thumped the speakers in there.
Everybody lost their minds when we played this.

Speaker 1 (55:54):
Dandy G, you used to go the roller skating rink
to try to pick up girls when you were like
a teenager. I used to DJ the roller skating That
was like the first time I held the girl's hand
and skated. Was a couple skates to boys to men
in the early nineties, and I remember that's when I
knew that I was going to be a sea block
the rest of my life, because one time I had
to skate with some girl that had just got over

(56:17):
chicken pox, and let's just say she was very attractive.
Just to be a good wingman, and I'm like, I'm
not doing that again. And since then, I've done nothing
to help Prince, all right, Hey, I love that story,
Cavino and Rich Foxy Radio. I just found that video
Occupy for us with David Hasselhoff on the History Channel. YEP,
because we're talking double triple threats. In tribute to Will

(56:41):
Smith's fifty seventh birthday, we said his Hasselhoff in that
category because he struck gold with The night Rider, struck
gold with Baywatch, and he's a big time musician overseas.
He's done a lot, so is he in that category?
All right? We got loaded lines, but I don't want
to neglect the YouTube in show, So let me say
what's up to Kay Rain, who said, maybe not the

(57:02):
most superstar career, but Nate Berlinson on TV and other
stuff he does in broadcasting is on his way to
being a triple threat. He's got those weird uh mutton
chop Still now, Nate's a good dude. What about Donald
Glover Cavino, Oh, childish Gambino TV comedy and music. Yeah,
he's been on our show. That's uh. A man of

(57:23):
many talents for sure, and he's a writer. When I
tell you have so much feedback online, I got Elliott
says Arnold a bodybuilder, bodybuilder, movie star, politician, politician. He's
probably one of the top answers, and it took this
long to even get Bob Yucker. That's from our buddy
Mauser and Cincinnati broadcaster, baseball player and actor. He was

(57:44):
great in Mister Belvidere. He was funny as hell, Jamie Fox.
You guys mentioned Ryan Reynolds is an actor, a sports
team owner, and an entrepreneur. Gotta give him credit. I'm
surprised you guys haven't. I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
I know we have a ton of calls. You guys
haven't brought up any e got winners, Emmy Grammy, Oscar
Tony winners. I'm looking at a list. Jennifer Hudson, John Legend,
Whoopee Goldberg, Elton, John Davis.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
I would say, if you were on Jennifer Hudson show,
would you dance down that hallway? Of course I would.
I'll dance for free right now. Let me tell you
there's there's anyone's better than Simon Cow. Their speculation that
something's wrong with Simon Cow because he had such an
awkward dance down that aisle. I don't think there's any
wrong you think he clapped his hand see that.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
Rhythm by the way.

Speaker 4 (58:26):
Props to Iowa Sam for showing restraint because I know
he was sitting on that one for a while.

Speaker 1 (58:31):
I was I was just thinking, I was still digesting
my chili cheese.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
He's still Iowa Sam did by giving us seven winners,
but still he waited a while to do it.

Speaker 1 (58:40):
So like, that's Emmy, Grammy Oscar Tony quadruple threat. Yeah,
that's pretty impressive.

Speaker 2 (58:46):
That's really impressive.

Speaker 1 (58:47):
So we're gonna wrap it up and talk some NFL.
But we're gonna wrap it now with your phone calls. Alright,
let's do some crossfire. Danny G's on the phones eighty
seven to seven ninety nine on Fox. What else do
we got? Let's say how to TK you, Ohio?

Speaker 2 (59:00):
What's up? T K? Hey?

Speaker 10 (59:02):
How they go?

Speaker 15 (59:02):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (59:03):
What's up?

Speaker 12 (59:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (59:04):
So my triple threat?

Speaker 13 (59:06):
I got George Foreman, boxer, entrepreneur and great name in.

Speaker 1 (59:12):
His kids and great child Beamer Andy in Mississippi. It's
up Andy, Hey, gentlemen, how you doing well?

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Good man?

Speaker 1 (59:20):
What's on your mind?

Speaker 13 (59:22):
How about the brothers Wallburg, Donnie and Mark Bro actors, performers, singers, musicians,
Hamburger makers, Marky Mark.

Speaker 1 (59:31):
And the Funky bunch kids on the block. I enjoy
some Wallburg's, uh Wahlburger's. Paul and Michigan.

Speaker 12 (59:37):
What's up, hey, guys, congratulations on the anniversary.

Speaker 2 (59:41):
Great to be with you.

Speaker 12 (59:43):
I've got, uh really three of the four if you've
got time, I'm gonna say Allen DeGeneres, that's j Lowe,
John Madden, and your very own Dan Patrick, who will
remind you how many movies he's spent.

Speaker 1 (01:00:03):
He's been a lot. I'm so jealous of his Sandler resume,
and I admire did he play college basketball to DP
at a lower level?

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Baby?

Speaker 6 (01:00:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Yeah, I don't think that's what makes him the flaret
though that we're talking about, but yes, say I mean
he was an athlete? Yea, yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:00:20):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
Gabe in Vegas? What's up, Gabriel?

Speaker 10 (01:00:23):
Hey, I got two h one is Orlando Bloom The
guy was in Lord of the.

Speaker 15 (01:00:29):
Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom of Heaven with
all within like two years.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
That is true. And have you ever seen his hog shadow?
You have to look up these old pictures of him.
He's paddle boarding with Katie Perry and there's a shadow
if he'm naked, and it's like Jesus, you know what,
hold on.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
I need some shade.

Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
I'm gonna go jump. It's a great point, Rich, But
he brings up a great point in the fact that
he's part of some major franchises that's not easy to
be a part of. That's great. Uh And we got gay.

Speaker 8 (01:00:59):
One more, Okay, one more.

Speaker 10 (01:01:02):
It's Brett Farv Hall of Fame quarterback. You get us
in dirty pictures to ladies, and he's gonna steal from
the welfare systems in Mississippi.

Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Yeah, I mean two out of three ways to make
up a piece of trash. All right, Roscoe and Florida.
What's up, Rascal Raptists?

Speaker 10 (01:01:19):
How you doing, guys?

Speaker 7 (01:01:20):
I listen to you every day.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
Thanks man, thank you.

Speaker 15 (01:01:23):
Hey you going, Queen Latif Queen answer.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
I'm a fan.

Speaker 2 (01:01:28):
I'm a fan TV movies and of course started as
a rap star.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
She's my queen rap star and she could sing too though,
so you're just all around musicians. So yeah, that's a
great answer. Thank you for chiming in. You can always
and producer, Yeah, and producer, you can always chime in
at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Remember every Thursday,
we love getting you involved. We love throwing it back
and reminiscent, and we call it old school in fifty hits.
Now we're gonna talk some NFL. There's some great NFL stories,

(01:01:54):
and Daniel Jones has to be one of them. Indian,
I'm sorry, Indiana, hold on, by the way, Harrison Howard's
an answer. I gotta give Wes and Idaho credit. Who
just hit us up? He goes Rich Davis Sports radio,
pop radio has done TV, true and coaching. Oh what
about me? I mean, I mean the coaching didn't put
you over the level. But dude, you know we're gonna

(01:02:17):
talk Indiana Jones in the form of Daniel Jones, but
Harrison Ford it has to be there because he's been
part of so many different movie franchise TV what about
this now TV. Someone's saying, Steve Cavino, little leak star.
Oh yeah, national radio announcer and Aaron Judge lobbyist.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Funny.

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
All right, all right, hey, it is great. I appreciate
your answers. We got to get to Dan Byer. What's
your update? What's up? dB? Yeah, guys, the Dodgers have
done it again. Swung it on the ground.

Speaker 17 (01:02:50):
Bottle third Rojas Backcans throws to first. He got it
Divisional doleance for the Dodgers. The twenty twenty five Dodgers
are the National Leagues Western Division champions for the twelfth
time in thirteen years. The Dodgers can raise a banner,
and they've now won the division title.

Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
Four straight seasons, topping the Diamondbacks eight nothing on AM five, seventy,
LA Sports and the Dodgers Audio Network. Dodgers with a
win today, but maybe more importantly for Rich Davis are
lost by the Diamondbacks, but now game and a half
back of the Mets for the final wild card. But
the Mets aren't breathing easy. That's because the Reds did
this today to the Pirates.

Speaker 6 (01:03:30):
See swings, high fly, right field, Marte all the way back,
leaps at the wall, He.

Speaker 4 (01:03:44):
Play well, Marte the hero and the top of the
ninth inning, preserving that two to one lead.

Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
Reds top the Pirates two to one. I saw that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
My mom hit me up Ridge Steven, How could you
leave share off the list? I mean actress, posician, But
what's the third? She did variety shows, she did the
TV movies, little everything. She drove Bill Murray insane. Every morning.
He's gotta be the number one answer, Steven. So anyway, thanks, yeah,
Mom's and Dad's love Dad. I'm all right, So, man,

(01:04:19):
we might have to continue this tomorrow or on over promised.
But I was thinking about this because I was talking
about Daniel Jones and man, how he got second life
in Indiana. He's now Indiana Jones. You call him doctor Jones, lady, nice,
try share, But he's really reinvented himself and found new life.

(01:04:42):
His stats are comparable to Josh Allen. That's no joke
or exaggeration. That's how good he's playing this year. And
he joins his company of people that were written off
and sort of found their way again. I think a
great answer that there's two, but I think one's a
better answer. All right, Well, I got the name, Sames.
You tell me who the best. That's the best answer,
because Daniel Jones is the latest in the club. Right,

(01:05:05):
this is the club of people we wrote off. And
Gino Smith comes to mind because he was one of
the first in recent history, right, and he called and
people called him a boss, and and that famous line
that he pat and the like, hey you were written
off he' said yeah, But I didn't write back or
whatever he's I think Gino is. I don't know what
that means either, But Gino is the answer because he remember,
he broke his jaw, got a fight in the Jets

(01:05:27):
locker room. He had all this hope. We were living
in New York. This is like a decade plus ago.
So Gino Smith was like a big story. And the
fact that the fact that he has a since emerged
signed the contract that he did. Gino Smith is the
number one answer. And if there's gonna be someone else,
you're gonna give me, and I'm gonna give you a
funny response. Baker Mayfield's on that list. He is not
a redemption story. He is guilty of only one thing,

(01:05:48):
being a Cleveland Brown.

Speaker 12 (01:05:49):
Dude he got.

Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
I know that's a funny meme in all, but I
I know. But but Baker Mayfield, remember he was there
with Donald. It was Donald's on that list. He was
in Carolina for a second. He brought Cleveland to the postseason,
but he was tossed around like a nobody.

Speaker 6 (01:06:04):
Think.

Speaker 1 (01:06:05):
I think what ruined him more? I thought you thought
he was heading down the Johnny Manziel path of Brown's quarterbacks.
Everyone's criticizing him for worrying about his commercials and dancing
around all the time. I think Mayfield's on this list
if he has.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
Some success, and we'll see him tonight.

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Sam Darnold Donald again, him and Mayfield were in Carolina together,
so he was one of those guys who reinvented himself
in Minnesota and now he's still playing well. Jared Goff's
on that list of guys that were kind of ranting off.
You know, they dissed them, and then he found his
way back in the trouble after a Super Bowl. Dude,
la it was his to have and they went on

(01:06:41):
without him. And now he's found his career again in Detroit.
And now Daniel Jones he's in that category. And we'll
see what the rest of the season has in store
for the guy. But it is nice to see. I'm
not a Daniel Jones fan, but I know the pressure
he played under New York. Let me give you the
pick for tonight Thursday Night football. The games in Arizona.
Seattle's favored by one and a half. We're doing our

(01:07:01):
typical Thursday night teaser. I like Arizona plus seven and
a half, not necessarily to win the game, but that
half a point hook may help you. So Arizona plus
seven and a half. It's forty three and a half
over under go under forty nine and a half. So
go up and then take the under. So under forty
nine and a half plus seven and a half. See
you later, Arriva there, chie baby, see you in the
over promised land. Let's go Mets, Let's go Mets.
