Damn Bayer is ready to kick our ass. Looking at

(01:14):
me stretching in the news room getting ready to whoop
our ass and last one standing light to heading up
and close the door. As my mom would say back
in the day, what do you think we live in
a barn?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Did everyone's parents say that?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
In or out?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
In or out in out? Yeah, buyer.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
How do you feel as we kick off the show,
We're gonna get to all the things that made you go?

Speaker 4 (01:32):
Hmmm?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
I was saying, you know, hit it out, things that
made you go, things that make you.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Go, things that make you go.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Rich ain't wasting no time.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
How do you feel about rooting for the team that
spoiled Philip Rivers Beautiful Possible Sunday?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
I was on an island.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
I do feel that, and I recognized it myself even
during the show. It was such a great story. And
Philip Rivers didn't throw for four hundred yards yesterday, but
anytime he completed a pass, the people that I worked
with were jumping up and down with excitement. And now
it would have been great if the Seahawks could have
been up by twenty one points, but that was not
the case, which made the Philip River story even better.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
It was a it was a tough one yesterday. Honestly,
it was a nice battle. Congrats to your Seahawks. Dan
Byer actually thought of you as the only like redeeming
part of the victory for me because I was rooting
for the old guest. I was like, everybody was, yeah,
but at least dan Byer's happy as Seahawks won.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Seriously, I really was to give.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
It's a good team winning and it's more important, I
guess of the league. But if anyone did what I did.
You saw them kick a sixty yard field goal to
go ahead. Philip Rivers pumping his fist, he's all fired up.
I took a little weaz break at that moment. I
come back and the Seahawks take the lead. It was
that quick, dude. It was what forty something seconds left

(02:55):
when they took the lead, and then the Seahawks did
it with like twenty seconds left.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Ended up when in the game, I was like, what
the hell happened?

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Actually texted Danny g I was like, how did they
score three points so fast? It really was that quick,
so congrats and to Dan knowing you had to remind
yourself and I couldn't be the only one that had
to remember. Philip Rivers always had a throwing motion that
looked like he was sort of pushing the ball a
little bit. Because if you were unfamiliar with Philip Rivers,

(03:22):
maybe you're a younger kid, you might be like, man,
he's really set up like he doesn't have the most
natural release, almost like as a baseball throw, almost like
he's pushing.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
It a little bit.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Sure shot put, yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Well he has a slight shot put. So the fact
that he was forty four made it look like every
throw he threw, well, there's a lot of it. There
was some type of like a lot of thoughts about
the Philip Rivers game.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
We'll get to, but I want to mention again.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
We're streaming live at YouTube dot com, Slash at Covino
and Rich FSR broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
You know, there was one play I was watching the
red zone and there was one play where he took
the snap and.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
He backpedaled a few steps and fell and I was like, ooh,
old guy moment.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
You know, we're watching very critically, right instead of just
watching and just observer, you're watching everything you know, noice
think anytime he dropped back in the pocket, Yeah, I
was like.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
If a Seahawks sex him hard.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
My analogy would be, have you ever played co ed
softball and the girl that's batting like twelfth on their
team rolls over a soft ground ball to you and
you almost feel guilty fielding it cleanly and thrown At first,
You're like, God got her?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Like, were you really proud of yourself? You're proud of yourself.
We used to play softball Saturday mornings. I asked you not.
There was an old veteran guy was in his eighties.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I don't even know if he stole around, God bless him,
but he would come out to the park and every
so often they'd be like, hey, Mike, get in the
batter's box. And this guy was in his early eighties,
served in multiple wars, but he loved the game. So
we would sort of stop the game, let the guy
jump in, get a couple of swings. If you fielded
a ball he hit, you sort of felt like an ass, like, ohay,
a hot shot. He really up the middle to rob

(05:01):
an eighty year old guy That's how I felt like
anytime Philip Rivers faded back in the pocket, I'm like, oh,
come on, but I mean he did, okay break him
in head and you know what, speaking of old man Rivers,
he looks slow.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
I think they should have won.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
They could have won, but he remains QB one against
your forty nine ers on Monday night football.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
That's the update there. That not be the coming out party, right, No,
So it was cool to see and fun to root for.
The better team won. I think you know, I was
surprised that their defense held your Seahawks.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Yeah, they were very aggressive. The Colts came out hitting
Seahawks still having trouble running the football and couldn't cash
it in. That's why they needed six freaking field goals
to be able to do it. The crazy thing is
is when Rivers, the Rivers knows where to put the
football and like you knew that right away. There was
even a play where he missed Josh downs On because

(05:54):
I think Downs just wasn't used to somebody knowing that
the football should be there, because because he kind of
held up his arm and then it dropped off to
his you know, just off to his right Rivers had
the ball where it needed to be. That could have
been his second touchdown of the game and really could
have put things out of reach. So everything that that
the Colts had wanted, like I think from his from
the mind wise, was completely there. It was just like

(06:18):
the last throw that he threw that ended up being
intercepted when you really had to throw it downfield, you
lost some of the accuracy on that and that ultimately
ended their game.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Yeah, and even if he was were to complete that pass,
there were four seconds. Yeah, Yeah, I mean a shot, desperate,
desperation moment, just throwing it out there.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Props to him.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
It's like I almost feel like I would almost argue,
and I know some people feel this way a desperation interception.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I almost feel like should it count the same way?

Speaker 1 (06:45):
Of course it does, But it's like when NBA players
don't want to throw a ball up full court, Yeah,
two seconds left, because then missing it just goes against
their shit.

Speaker 5 (06:54):
They changed it this year because of that. They stopped
counting it against the stats because players were.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Appret to do it.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yeah, you don't want to feel that way, But I'm
a positive rich I better and the better team did win.
I give him all the props in the world. I
love what he said after the game. How you know,
he's human and he had his doubts and he was nervous,
but he showed all those kids that he coaches and
all the kids out there that you can't let your
fears control you. And he did his best out there.
And you know, I bet you he will play better
next week. Some of those butterflies are gone. Even though

(07:22):
he's done it for years, it's been a long time,
and you know, how could he not be apprehensive. He
hasn't done it on that level in five years. So honestly, congratulations.
I thought that was a really fun game to keep
an eye on over the weekend. And now we turn
it over to you and get you involved. Fox Sports
Radio Nation. We do it every Monday again. Things that
make you go HM eight seven seven ninety nine on

(07:42):
Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. The rules
are simple. There's no wrong answer. Here is any observation
you made in well week fifteen NFL but anything UFC
Fight Night, a movie you saw, a Christmas holiday special,
The Beast in Me on Netflix, I'm watching that, It
could be any observation that you made over the weekend,

(08:04):
things that made you go hmm.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, Estebon, I don't know if you're right about this.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
He says he thought he sort of spied Rivers wearing
a Life Alert necklace under his jersey.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
I don't think that's that's not true. I don't think
I don't think that's the case. I will say this.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
Though, I'm fallen and I can get at.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
I saw.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
A list, and I did a little homework and I
added to the list. Okay, I saw someone say, here's
a couple of players that are Philip Rivers age that
seem like they haven't played in the NFL in an eternity.
I'm gonna I'm gonna list other players that were also
born in nineteen eighty one. Allah, the age of Philip
Rivers forty four years old. And you tell me if
you feel like these players feel ancient in NFL years, right,

(08:48):
Troy Polamalu, Yeah, he feels way old, you know, because
he played for so long and when did he retire?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Feels like so long ago. Here's a name that feels
even older in his owing locks. He like great now.

Speaker 6 (09:01):
Yeah, I was just gonna say yeah, and his shampoo commercial,
he's got the Sultan Gray.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Yeah, there's another guy on a name that was such
a force in the NFL at some point. But to me,
he feels so two thousands, Clinton Portis, Clinton Portis is
the same age as Philip Rivers. Wow, that is wild, dude.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Eli Manning is the same age as Philip Rivers. Okay,
you know what that one feels? Okay, because I feel
like but I remember them coming up.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Right the trade. They revolved in the trade.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Yeah, that's it makes it obvious. But in your mind
though Eli hasn't. Can you imagine Eli playing right now?

Speaker 4 (09:38):
No?

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Right, that's what makes it cool. Yeah, Andre Johnson wide receive.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Wes Welker, damn, Yeah, that feels like a while ago
to me.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Have you see on TV all the time because he's
so far into his second career you know why Berlinson,
Oh wow, Nate, Yeah, Nate, great broadcaster. Feels like he's
been out of the league for a minute. But back
to Wes Welker, like, I I feel like, I think
of the early time Brady days, right, and even though
he never really won with Brady, I remember partying with

(10:07):
him rich And doesn't that feel like a lifetime ago?
Because that's when he was on the Patriots. It feels
like we were working with like Maxim and all those
men's brands who were red carpet. So yeah, think about that,
think about competing at the level he competed at.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
My wife was friends with his wife. Wes Welker, great family.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
I'll give you one more that feels crazy. I'll give
you one more. Sante Samuel his kids in the league now.
So just to give perspective, I get it, everyone taps
out at a different age. They tap out John Cena style, which,
by the way, was something else that made you go
from over the weekend right. It did, it really did.

(10:45):
But these are all guys that are forty four. Just
to show you what it really takes for a guy
like Philip Rivers to be ready to go back out there.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
So props to him. He came up short.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
But again, I genuinely think what you saw Philip Rivers
do is better than what some bootleg rando practice squad guy.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
You've never heard his name, but they're like, you.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Know, Jimmy Tompkins who played in the USFL or XFL
for a year out of Kansas Tech.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
I'm just making its cool, like if they just pulled
some rando guy.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
I feel like Philip Rivers gave you more than what
that guy could have given you. And we talked about
dan by the limited choices because of you know, the
trade deadline has passed, so you're you're really just picking.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
Also, think of it this way. Maybe Riley Leonard throws
for two hundred yards, but as the game script and
how it all plans out, the way that the game
really turns out, for them to be able to hold
out of the football, control the ball, make the throws
that are needed, the defense does have to respect that
Philip Rivers is going to throw the football where maybe
Riley Leonard you're not. You're just so you're focusing on

(11:47):
Jonathan Taylor, and they use Jonathan Taylor a lot yesterday.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Those first couple of drives the cults and Jonathan Taylor
was getting a lot of yards per Carrigaus. There were
times where those drives kept going solely based on five
six yards, three yards, eight yards, four yards. I felt
like they were just moving the ball with I felt
like they had more reason to play behind Rivers though,
you know, more excitement and more will to win, rallying

(12:13):
behind him. The story the old guy. He was getting
everybody fired up. I'm not sure anyone else could have
got them as fired up as he did.

Speaker 5 (12:19):
Yeah, I think it was probably an emotional boost. And
I think that the Seahawks defense also had to mind
their p's and q's where rivers there were just again
I mentioned that throw to Josh Downs, there were other
spots where he just like he knows the game, he
knows where the football needs to be, so he's gonna
put it at that point. And as a defense, and
it's no disrespect to Riley Leonard, but when you're a
rookie in the NFL, you can't go up against for

(12:42):
knowledge a guy who's about to be in the Hall
of Fame or will be in another five years.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
It's a good life lesson, though Rich. It really is
like to take that risk. Lifes of risk are now
of blood and blood out. There's so many moments in
life where people that fear getting the way of their
goals or a fear getting the way of their dreams.
And he could have easily, and he said it in
his speech, he'd easily just sat home and called it today.

(13:08):
But he tested himself and pushed himself and it was
kind of cool. He didn't embarrass himself by any means.
Could have won that game.

Speaker 5 (13:14):
No, And I think that's an interesting point because Philip
Rivers is going to be in the Hall of Fame. Yeah,
there's the numbers are there. But I think that there
are people who will say, well, he never made it
to a super Bowl, never played in the Super Bowl,
didn't win anything.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
That would question that. Do you think yesterday helped his candidacy?

Speaker 2 (13:31):
I agree to me.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
It makes me look like he loves the game of
football and he has balls. And I know there's a
on paper mean nothing, but in my mind, I look
at Philip Rivers as a baller, a gamer, and he
loves the game of football.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
And look at what we're talking about, Like with Russell Wilson,
were saying, did he hurt his Hall of Fame candidacy
by staying on too long and playing in all these
spots and not doing as well? Like that was a
legitimate discussion that was happening. This comeback in him just
showing that he's somewhat cap of quarterbacking an NFL game
with five years off, I think speaks to the type
of player that he actually was.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Previously agreed, And let's put this in perspective. I don't
like to play Sunday softball because I want to remember
myself as a good ballplayer.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
You had twenty seven home runs.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
You want to keep that legacy in that memory, live
in my brain from my own confidence.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
And he doesn't want to pop up the second and
have some fifty five year old guy catch a ball
he hit. But you also don't want to put yourself
in a vulnerable situation like this guy used to be good, right,
he do all that out the window. I was like,
I don't care. I'm gonna go out there and compete
and do my best. You could you could always a
legendary NFL quarterback with a reputation with the Hall of
Fame career, Like the thought of him failing and embarrassing

(14:40):
in that moment did not stop him. So it really
is a life lesson to all. So you could argue
that and that there's victory Mike Tyson to a younger kid,
did that where you're telling your kid, your kid, there
was no one more indestructible, and no one more fierce,
and no one more honestly, no more dangerous than Mike Tyson.

(15:02):
And invincible in his prime, and your kids might be like, Dad,
you mean the guy that Jake Paul Woopton's like yeah,
but no, that was like, you know, Philip Rivers put
himself out there and it looked all right.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, I really do applaw that they spoiled. Can I
give you the flip though?

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Something we talked about him when me and you Dan Bayer, Danergy,
we also of brushed over it. Under any other circumstances,
the story would be like, man, this rod Ley Leonard
kids getting a shot. I feel bad for him in
a way because this is his shot to possibly show
the world what he could do. And everyone's like, yay, yeah, whatever, kid,
we want to see the old guy. Yeah, but again

(15:42):
eight and fourteen right, and I feel you they had
to keep it going the best way they could.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Eight and six now, I'm sorry eight and six now.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
So that's really why, in my opinion, you got to
take your chance with that a guy who could lead
and a guy who could, like Dan Byer said, be
a boost. Is chat powers available? That's from West and
Idaho on the chat?

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Can I say this?

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Individual stats This is from Chase nineteen eighty nine said
individual stats play part of it, but it's not the
only part. To back up Dan Buyer saying, you know,
Hall of Fame. Now you look at Philip Rivers as
a guy that he didn't care. He just want to
come back, even if it's for a few games, to
prove that he could still compete.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
And you know what, listen to what Philip Rivers said
after the game yesterday.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
Grateful, I mean grateful running out for warm ups and
all that, and out there from anthem and as the
game just got going, I was just thankful, grateful that
I was.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
Out there.

Speaker 7 (16:39):
And it was a blast. It was a blast. But
obviously the emotion is now our disappointment. Disappointment. You know,
I'm this isn't about me. You know, we were on
a team that was scrapping like crazy to trying to
stay alive and get in the postseason.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
So obviously we're all disappointed.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
And by the way, four competitors, that's like a dream
come true. You think your time is done, you think
or over, and you get one more shot to show
them what you got and to show yourself that you
still got it. It's almost like a sitcom it really
like him or a movie like Him. Putting those pads
on again that he never thought he would put on again. Well,
I even saw Ryan Clark going off about how wrong

(17:15):
this was, but he was saying, but don't get me wrong,
I don't blame Philip Rivers because if someone gave me
that opportunity, I would want to take it too, because
no one wants to hang up the cleats. That's why
Cam Newton was so mad about it, and he got
that opportunity. Props to him. One hundred and twenty yards
one touchdown. That last interception really shouldn't count, but it does.

(17:36):
And aside from old man Rivers coming up short, Seahawks
winning eighteen sixteen at the very very end of the game.
I think the other storyline of the weekend was injuries.
Like we lost a lot of big players this week. Well,
injuries took their toll. But I think between the injuries
commuted I'm gonna I'm gonna one up you. Yeah, because
of the injuries and because of the great Philip Rivers

(17:57):
almost story the best game of the week is like
not even our lead and that was Buffalo. Oh yeah,
and Josh Allen's showing you that not so fast Patriots,
they're up twenty four to seven Portnoy and don't you
want nothing.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Patriots fans everywhere making videos like what for real? It's
going through Foxborough. Everyone's thinking that they did this.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
And then I remember I had a dip out and
I came back and I put the game on in
the living room, and I remember being.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Like, oh, all right.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
They scored right out the second half, and I'm like,
all right, now it's within as they were coming back,
I'm like, oh, there's momentum. If you believe a momentum.
New England had lost it and that was such a performance.
And right now, I'm gonna tell you they're not going
to win the division because there's not enough time. But
if you're the Buffalo Bills, and you're a Buffalo Bills fan,

(18:47):
you're looking at this as your super Bowl to win.
I'm not convinced anyone else is that great. And Josh Allen,
if he could deliver a whole game like that, and
this team could play like that when they need to,
m hm, and they could beat that Buffalo Buffalo young
and hungry. We talked about those open, those little open windows,

(19:07):
and with Lamar not being himself and Mahomes now injured
and the Chiefs out. This is Buffalo. Come on, this
is your chance, This is your chance. You know, there's
a couple teams that are out that I think, because
of their reputation, we thought, ah, you know, maybe they could,

(19:31):
maybe they could make a little late season run. And
we're slowly seeing those teams sort of fall by the wayside,
like the Chiefs, especially now that Mahomes is gone. You
said they're done. Chris Jones didn't know that. Chris Jones
of the Chiefs, like, wait what, wait what? That made
me say him to be honest, even though I understand,
because I feel like sometimes when you're really in it,
you really don't see it all.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Because you're so in.

Speaker 1 (19:51):
It's like a relationship, right, the answer may be so
clear to you, but when you're so involved and so invested,
you don't know what the truth is. So you go
to outside people who see so clearly. He's seeing through
the fog, he's seeing the battle every day. Chris Jones
didn't realize that they don't have a fighting chance.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
He doesn't listen to my schedule watching.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
I'm not making excuses, I'm just saying I understand.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Am I shocked? Yes, I don't. But that's understand.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
I was always fascinated when you would name someone in
the sports media landscape and there's a I don't know
who that is.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
That's the industry you're working. You should know everyone. You
should have.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
You show me the other day if I knew something
like love Line Lady, and I'm like, no, I don't.
Kivino never heard of doctor Judy. No, that wasn't it,
the Lilah. You never heard of the Law? I mean
not that I did, not really, And I've worked in
radio and I've obsessed over radio not enough my whole life.
So sometimes you miss things. But I think, again, I'm

(20:53):
not giving Chris Jones the past because he said, according
to him that the Chiefs still have a fighting chance.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
And he goes, oh wait, we don't. Oh snap.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah. One of the reporters shook their heads and they
were like.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
No excuses. I'm just saying that sometimes.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
When you're in it, you don't see things as clear
as every way you're saying outside looking in, the Chief's
obviously done. And I mean if the Cowboys we talked
about on Friday, and that conversation is just trash. Now,
Remember we said if the Cowboys went out and a
couple tough losses by the Eagles, and somehow the Cowboys
could slip in. I mean, it's the Cowboys would have

(21:32):
to win out and then now the Eagles would have
to lose three or four.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
That's not happening.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
The Cowboys losing to Minnesota last night, I thought was
a real big, like organizational setback, like they like somehow
that firstcout was still positive. If they fought to the finish,
then you'd be like, all right, I see, I see.
I think he was a primetime Sunday and I gained
to Minnesota. That was a week I think it's that's
a week way to exit. I agree with you, I do.

Speaker 2 (21:57):
Let's go the phones. Everyone's lighting them up.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We're gonna do
last one standing giveaway prizes later in the show. Stay
tuned for that. But we do this every Monday. Any
observation you made, especially in the world of the NFL,
hit us up things that made you go Week fifteen.
As we wrap it up tonight, who do we got.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Let's go to uh, that's Steph or Stevens. Steph, Steph
Steph in Illinois. What's up. Steph, Hey, Steph, how's you going?

Speaker 8 (22:25):
Fellas talking about that Chris Jones things. I remember when
Don Van nab when he tied one time, he said
he didn't even know the game could end in the.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
High I remember that. I absolutely remember about that.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Yeah, who didn't the team's near division? Recently it was
camp Scattabu camp scattab who didn't know teams in his
own division. We see professional athletes recent Remember when Anthony
Edwards didn't know who Alex Rodriguez was? Again, different sports,
but not to still professional, not the name drop.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
We had some players.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
One of the biggest realizations to me as a get
this professional broadcaster. I'm sorry, what are you? Fasional broadcaster
with a podcast? In fact, Rich and I celebrate twenty
one years on the air together today. Yeah, true story,
twenty one years December fifteenth oh four. We were in
our early twenties trying radio. One of my today biggest

(23:14):
realizations was we'd be interviewing professional athletes. Our show could
drink legally, Our show has a mustache. Twenty one years old.
Today you're all grown up. All the teammates don't know
each other. You know, it may seem like common knowledge
now or comment to you. But when we started twenty
one years ago, I remember being shocked that a guy
on the offensive line didn't know someone on special teams.

(23:37):
Then you realized, well, you know, i'd fiftys come and go.
Can you name fifty three people from your workplace? But
you assume these things, right, so you know the fact
that Chris Jones, let'll give you one, didn't know in
the moment. Let's see if you remember, just because I'm
a dope and forgot. We had a musician on our show.
I think it's a Goo Dolls, but I don't think
it is. We had someone on our show and Cavino
started telling them the track listing on their seat. It

(24:00):
was Stephen Jenkins started and Comito was like, yeah, that
was track too, and the guy and Stephen Jenkins like, yeah,
I don't remember the tracks on my album, Like you
don't remember the track order on your albums? Yeah he
didn't remember, So Steph called back eight seven, seven ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
On five point. I got too excited.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Even George Pickens this year was didn't know ties were
a thing, like he admitted.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
I think after the Packers and the Cowboys tied He's like,
I didn't know that was the thing.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
They're focused on different things.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
We're focused as fans, like it's a different level of focus.
This guy's focused on game tape and which game individually.
Yahat So again, I'm not making excuses, but I'm saying
I understand what made you go, George and Virginia.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (24:41):
What's going on? Guys?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Amen?

Speaker 8 (24:44):
So Bill fan since nineteen sixty nine, So I've been through.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
It all sixty nine, You've been through it all. You've
been through four in a row. And do you think
this is the year? Is this the is the hope?
Now you see what they can do.

Speaker 8 (24:59):
I know what we can. We've had a lot better
opportunities over the last five six years. But I still
think we can win the division. I heard y'all talking earlier.
You don't think we can. I think we can.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
Well, we're gonna play someone tough coming up. I'll take
a little look, but I'll say this. I'll give you this, George.
You might not be riding.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
As good of a car as you did in the
last couple of years, but the other cars on the
track aren't aren't as fast good one. I mean, you're
I mean you're telling me Patrick Mahomes and a healthy
Chiefs team and a healthy Lamar Jackson, those are teams
that scared you. If you're the Bills right now, you
got to be thinking, Wow, bo Nix is.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
In our way.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
We could do this.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
Drake May he's really shown a lot of promise, but
he's the guy. If you're a Bills fan, you should
be like, this is the year. That's it, see it,
that's it. I think today we went today.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
I think they have a great chance if they were
to enter as a wild card, to have that chip
on their show. And I thought it was evident in
yesterday's game. They came in as a favorite in that
game and we're down to your point twenty one nothing,
and then they turned it on. So they needed that
disrespect or they needed that. I'm not saying that was
their plan, but for some reason, sometimes this team with

(26:16):
expectations does not live up to it. And so if
you were to go on a run and just reel
off three straight road wins, which is something we've talked about,
that's doable with this landscape here in the AFC, I
think that's the ideal route for Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Let me, I mean, I could probably put in a
little playoff calculator, but does anyone know off offhand who
would win that tiebreaker because they split head to head,
so it'd have to be what Indivision and then conference
because I could see the Patriots dropping one in New
England next week. I'm sorry in Baltimore if the Ravens,
I don't know, get a little struggle. But they played

(26:51):
the Jets and the Dolphins, and the Dolphins will be
fighting in week eighteen because who knows what they're trying
to pull off here?

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Patriots have the division record tiebreaker because of the Bills
lost to the Dolphins. You have it if if the
Jets or Dolphins would beat in New England and that
was the loss, then you would go further down the line.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
And to wrap up observations from that game, did you
see josh Allen Barfin spewing at the end of the game.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
A lot of people speculated, like, does he have a flu?
Is he sick?

Speaker 1 (27:15):
He says, it happens every game. I don't know the reason,
and I looked at it.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Is it nerves? Is it nervous? He says that he
has to get it out. So is that just nerves.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
Is that how much is riding on a game versus
the Patriots. I mean, listen, people have different nerves and anxieties.
Used to say, like, you know, like you're not feeling
you get if you hop on stage Canino for a
big event or something, you might be like, go, I
have a little nervous. What if Josh Allen has at
times one hundred and he's an NFL quarterback, he might
be every single week like you remember when who's on

(27:46):
South Park?

Speaker 2 (27:47):
Who's on South Park? I remember the was it was?

Speaker 9 (27:50):
It?

Speaker 2 (27:50):
Kyle has a crush on the girl. There's a girl
that I like it.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Every time he sees the girl, he pukes, Yes, maybe
that I like. You know, let's got a damn buy
for an update. All the feedback we're going to get
through next dB. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Man?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Yeah, so the news of the day, chief said coach
Andy Reid.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
So to the quarterback Patrick Mahomes is going to get
a second opinion on the injured knee. A torn ACL
in his left knee former Homes, costing him the rest
of the season. Packer's edge rusher Michaeh Parsons confirmed that
he has an ACL tear in his left knee. He's
done for the year. Packers wide receiver Christian Watson status
for their game against the Bears in Week sixteen Up
in the air, he had an upper body injury and
was actually seen at a Denver hospital, but no major

(28:28):
injuries were revealed.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
And as time for our ti Iraq play of the day,
the Bills just can't be stopped in his second half
of the game.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Check it out, third and goal from the fourteen. Here's
the snap, four man rush. Allen steps up, fires and
he's got knocks in the end zone for a touchdown.
Josh Allen with a laser to Dawson Knox for his
second touchdown reception of the game.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
That's courtesy of WGR five to fifty Bills Radio New Work.
That's our tire rack play today. I just saw a
highlight on one of the TVs here in the studio,
a play we didn't bring up yet when JJ McCarthy
gritties into the end zone because the whole team, the
whole offensive, defensive cameras, ever, no one saw that bootleg

(29:17):
coming and that was like, honestly, he walked in.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
In fact, he's strutted and he did a little gritty.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
So Minnesota victorious last night, and I think there's a
team we're all sort of not mentioning. And the Broncos, now, hey,
put them out there, Bronco Rams, Broncos beating the Packers.
That was a statement within and gives Micah Parsons too.
So that's tough.

Speaker 3 (29:42):
Yeah, rich the Ravens getting back to five hundred.

Speaker 1 (29:45):
Ravens are seven and seven, and if Miami wins tonight,
you'll have three seven and seven teams Miami, Pittsburgh, and
Baltimore that we were just talking about. But I think
the team that's getting no love, I think is it's
almost like a.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
George Bush show. Whatever fool me once, shame on, you
won't get fooled again. Boom me watch, shame on, shame
on you.

Speaker 8 (30:07):
It fooled me.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
We can't get fooled again.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
I feel like I don't want to be fooled that.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags are good.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
Are you ready for some football?

Speaker 2 (30:15):
And I think they're really good, you know, like they're
really they're They're not just winning now now, they're beating
teams and the.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Lawrence had a game am his best game of his
entire career pludies and what three hundred and thirty yards
something like that, forty eight points they put up against
the Yams.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
You ever see at Clroberts Mine, now, do you do
you ever.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
See a college football game where some dinky load Division
team somehow at halftime is like tied with Georgia or
Alabama like this, like my god, it's ten ten at halftime,
and then Alabama ends up winning forty two ten. I
feel the analogy there would be the AFC South when

(30:56):
Indianapolis was so far ahead of everybody. We're like, man,
Indianapolis and there are people saying, like, is Daniel Jones
going to the Super Bowl? And I know he's injured
and he's out, But very quickly they're in third place.
Houston's defense looks ridiculously like frightening, and Jacksonville's scoring points
like they are they were in one time. This season,

(31:18):
everyone in the network, not just us, like the experts,
like the Collins and Dps of the world, will be like, man,
the cults are real.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
The Cults are in third.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Place and they're not going to make the playoffs. It
happens fast. A couple of weeks ago by Cavino and
it's over and right now. We talked about the teams
that Buffalo could be and should be scared of another
wildcard team unless they somehow catch up. I think Houston,
Oh yeah, they're defenses, oh yeah, and they're just streaking
you know.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
And by the way, such a crazy weekend and so
many big injuries. You saw Patrick Mahomes hobbling off getting
a second opinion. We heard Dan Byer talk about that,
but I saw a meme, so it has to be true.
Of course in regards to Mahomes. Me at the end
of the game, it'll be the first playoff without Brady

(32:04):
Manning or Mahomes since nineteen ninety eight. That's crazy. If
you let that sink in timestamp, that's when I graduated college.
So those names have dominated the dominated the NFL for
that long. Wow, A playoffs without them is wild that
you're talking about, you know, the late nineties when a
lot of us were in high school in late nineteen hundreds,

(32:25):
were you were you know, you were doing lude shots
and beer cake stands. The last time one of those
three guys was not on a postseason team, which is wild.
And speaking of time, stamps on this day Rich nineteen
ninety two, thirty three years ago the chronic doctor Dre
came out. Just throwing that out there makes you say hmm. Now,

(32:46):
so many more observations and we'll take your feedback. Next
we'll wrap up the phone calls. Then we're gonna play
last one Standing, give away some prizes, and we'll talk
some NBA for a second too, because it happened. Okase
lost and to who we talked about it last week
as a team that was gonna beat him? Was it
Wemby and the Spurs and bam, it happened. So we'll
tugg little NBA. We'll wrap up with your phone calls

(33:11):
at eighty seven seven ninety nine, Oh Fox, any observations
you made over the weekend, I did say sports and entertainment.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Before the break?

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Are we understating that the Jaguars figured it out because.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Jackson it's always been a team since the days of.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
Like well, we also understated how bad Trevor Lawrence was
leading up to this, like he always got away with it,
And I think it's just, you know, that's just how
we view the Jaguars agains. I mean, if you want
to go back to Lad they've won five in a row.
One of those was an overtime win against the Cardinals.
Other than that where it's like, oh, they've they snuck
by there. Yeah, but he had a week nd. The
other Jags wins over the last month plus, they whooped

(33:49):
the Chargers, they whooped the Titans, they whooped the Colts,
and then yesterday they whooped the Jets. Like we're talking
about dominating performances by the offense, and you know, they're
putting up a lot of points and I just think
we can't sleep on them because they'll likely win the
division less Houston catches up. But as of right now,
if you asked me, they're a team that, like I

(34:12):
wann't be shocked if they he's surprised, you know, in
the first round or so of the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
I'm not saying they're going all the way.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
But Jags look good, Danny g You, I mean, the
Jags are They're not fun to talk about.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Maybe I don't know, yeah, And I.

Speaker 6 (34:23):
Think you you mentioned how they blew out the Chargers
a few weeks back. But if you're going to talk
about teams that maybe have gotten it together, you got
to throw the Chargers in there Andrew boy Philip Rivers,
because with that cast on his non throwing hand, he's
helped the Chargers win a couple of close ones in
a row, and they now look like they're on the

(34:43):
right path.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
You subconsciously said Philip Rivers by the way, Oh, I'm sorry,
I get it. He's on the mine justin Herbert. You
mean the guy that I called the jerk all out exactly?

Speaker 5 (34:51):
What's up, Dbate, I was just gonna say, you were
talking about the Jaguars, and when you look at what
they've done in this five game win streak six twenty
four three, nineteen and twenty, that's how much your defense
has given up. So like this is there's also an
uptick in the Jaguars defense in addition to Trevor Lawrence
playing better. Dannian knows this. The trade deadline wasn't a

(35:15):
big splash, but Jacobe Myers was traded to Jacksonville. Gave
him another target exactly, and he's been able to come on.
Brian Thomas, who had a really slow start to the season,
not more of a factor. So everything kind of rising
in Jacksonville.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Many that's the benefit of playing in Jacksonville. Gave the
chance for Trevor Lawrence to a little more row, a
little more runway, a lot more runway, because if that
was anywhere else, he would have been counting out. Probably
already talk about a primo game this Sunday, not to
jump ahead schedule watching. We're not there yet, but Jaggs
Broncos at Mile High talk about a test for the Jags, Like,

(35:53):
that's to me because if you lose that game, then
you then you're putting yourself in a position to let
Houston catcher. Because Houston's playing great as well. So a
couple teams in the ANFC South that we weren't like
talking about much because they're not really that sexy, but
the Texans and the Jags are silently both.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Going to make the playoffs. Can I throw two shout
outs out there? Please do?

Speaker 1 (36:13):
As we wrap up things that made you go, hm,
we all recognized it, but I'm not sure we really
celebrated it. The fact that Dick Van Dyke turned one
hundred over the weekend. Yeah, Yo, that makes me go, like,
what is that kind of see It's a viral video
of him just doing that like dance, right, he looks
like a rubber band. But people are people are putting
like hip hop songs to it. Yeah, it's the best.

(36:34):
Think me dis got moved. This is so positive though,
you know, but one hundred years old, that's incredible.

Speaker 6 (36:39):
Can we talk about one other old guy really quick.
You haven't mentioned Trump in the coin toss.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Dude not only trumping a coin thoughs Trump and his
weird tweet about Rob Reiner today makes me say, hm.

Speaker 6 (36:50):
But that Army Army Navy game. I watch it every
year and it looked like the coin was foreign to him,
like he had never ever even anybody. Yeah, like like
he had never even seen anyone, you know, not even
did it not even flip.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
It didn't flip. It just went straight up and straight down.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
That's so random, it's so weird. But yeah, he doesn't
hold coins. He's a he's a billionaire millionaire coins.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
It was a memorable coin flip.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
He has no loose change, that guy. And speaking of
old guys, Rob Reiner passed away and passed away got murdered.
Oh yeah, the big difference passed away is like old guy.
His story in itself was like what you know, not
to get all not all the details have come out yet,
but they're insinuating his son.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I saw a story.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
That presumably murdered them, and he's on a four million
dollar bail right now. They have n't been custody Nick Reiner.
To me, the part of that story, obviously, besides the
murder that made me go, what, hmm, was that Rob
Reiner and his wife and their son, who is the
alleged murderer. We're all the Conan O'Brien's Christmas party on

(37:58):
Saturday night, and there was a big fight at that party,
and people saw him fighting with the parents. And then
you got to wonder how Conan feels knowing that one
of the last moments before this kid may have murdered
them was.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
At his Christmas party.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
I mean, I'm sure he was talking to lots of
people at that party. He almost feel odd anyone that
was there. I guess there's probably gonna be a lot
of weird like what if I would have talked to
that kid and calmed him down or something. I'm sure
there's gotta be weird feelings for everyone that that story
definitely makes a say hmm. But yeah, a legendary filmmaker, Yeah, meathead.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Poor Meatthead. That's a horrible story.

Speaker 1 (38:33):
Well, definitely makes me say, h one basketball thing that
maybe go h, Danny. They've lost their second game, like too,
it was a close game, but okay, see fell.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
To the Spurs. So if you're interested in that, they
had to lose another game eventually, I mean, if.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
You uh and and if if they're gonna lose to
the Spur seems apropos because they are another young, emerging
great team.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Wemby was back in action and.

Speaker 6 (38:57):
He put up some nice stat line twenty two points,
nine rebounds, two blocks to assist.

Speaker 1 (39:02):
And you know, if there's gonna be a team that
competes a young emerging team like the Spurs might be it.
And now the Spurs take on the Knicks tomorrow night.
If you're interested at all, the NBA Cup Finals to
eighteen and seventeen eighteen and seven teams, the Spurs in
the next Tomorrow night worth watching on a Tuesday night?

Speaker 2 (39:19):
When what else is on on a Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
That Claire Danes show, I'm gonna be watching something that's
really good. But you know what else I saw over
the weekend too, made me say, I'm on the treadmill.
And you know, once things getting your algorithm, you're stuck
there for a minute and probably will be just all
these Fernando Mendoza clips and just how likable he really is.
And when you play for someone or play with someone
that likable, you run through a wall for that guy.

(39:43):
And you can see how all his teammates rally around him.
They all come to support him, and it's really really
cool to see what he is doing for Hispanic quarterbacks
and putting them on the map, even though they've been
there before. But he's really proud to be Cube, and
he's addressing his his family members and Spanish. Just such
a likable kid. Yeah, but he calls mom mommy. He's

(40:04):
a groom, but mommy meaning mommy. This Cuban dude cue mommy.
And Boppy is not MoMA. He speaks Spanish, your bonehead mommy, yeah,
I meaning mommy, And Poppy mine he speaks Spanish.

Speaker 8 (40:20):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
But you know he's he's out there saying that he
wants to make this uh A dream a possible reality
for any Hispanic kid out there. And I think that's
really cool because he shouts out Jim Plunkett's feeling far
between Jeff Garcia, Tony Romo, Mark Sanchez, and now Cuban
Fernando Mendoza sweeping the nation by storm.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
See guy that's so likable. dB.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Let me ask you, here's me saying your guy with
a little more insight on this, is Mendoza a dude
that folks are thinking is a high draft pick or
one of those guys that you know is a mid
rounder type.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
Yeah, there's there's odds right now that he's going to
be the number one pick in the So people.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Believe in this kid that much because of his IQ though,
then so again, I'm in this algorithm. You're hearing him
talk about the game. Who was it that broke the
game down? Insanely? Cooper Cup was?

Speaker 2 (41:14):
I believe?

Speaker 1 (41:14):
So he's next level with game breakdown, this dude. So
maybe that's part of it. I say that because I
know that when you win the Heisman and you're on
a team that's competing for the national championship, that automatically
has eyes on you.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
But we've seen quarterbacks go from oh, they're.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
Gonna be a first you know, first five pick, to
falling down the draft board. We've seen it many times,
but as of right now, some projections at number one.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Thank you, Dan By.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
I was curious because you know, sometimes a guy could
could be in that position and then the needs of
teams and the position of the Yeah, well just.

Speaker 5 (41:49):
And honestly, right off of winning the Heisman, I'm sure
the odds are in that way. When he goes through
the entire evel process, we'll find out more. It's not
that he's looked at as a generation old talent.

Speaker 1 (42:01):
And that's what I was saying, like, because if you don't,
if you're not a big college football guy, you know
his name because of what he's done. But it's not
a guy we've been talking about for years and the
playoff still is happening. What if he gets crushed in
the playoffs and then let's say at the combine he
doesn't look at sure you know, like yeah, but as
of now they're saying first round.

Speaker 2 (42:17):
I'm not even getting that deep bridge.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
I'm just saying I'm late to the party on how
likable this young man really is.

Speaker 4 (42:23):
And yeah, I'm rooting for him.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Mom nice to see, mommymmy, not mommy like mommy, mommy,
because he's a Cuban kid.

Speaker 3 (42:30):
I did a mommy fool.

Speaker 1 (42:32):
I know he looks like a like a white Irish
kid to you, but he's Cubana on me.

Speaker 6 (42:36):
Well, then I and the Heisman runner up, Diego Pavia
also Latin America, Latin American from Vanderbilt, and he made
some news over the weekend because he said, f all
you Heisman voters, because he was so competitive about wanting
to win the trophy. He was very emotional afterwards, and
then he apologized later that could.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
Run people the right and wrong way. Danny.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
People could say, what a competitive dude just needs some
mature But then you say, hm, you know, it's like
the the the equivalent of a rite, the draft, Danny,
don't send the email, write the tweet, draft, don't send
it out better left unsent and unset. All right, So
those are our observations.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
I was speaking of mommy and daddy. Yeah, have you
seen this trend where people are you're supposed to call
women are supposed to call their husband daddy in front
of their teenage kids to see if they cringe. No,
I haven't seen that. You got teenage kids do this?
That'll it'll it makes them want to vomit, all right?

Speaker 1 (43:33):
But like there Josh Allen on the sideline, there you go,
you know, speak hey, speaking of trends our boy Sebastian Maniscalco,
who makes fun of me, Mon beep bah mommy and daddy.
Sebastian says, I got this prank, a holiday prank. And
what he does he goes to Christmas parties and he
leaves a framed photo of him and his family at

(43:55):
the party, like somewhere hidden, which is kind of funny
because you know, if you weeks later, that family's like,
wait a second, where did this come from? Not a
bad idea if you're going to a holiday party this week?
All right, hey, I think there we have it. You
want to take one last called Danny?

Speaker 3 (44:11):
Yeah, your boy Andy and Rhode Islands and how are
you man?

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Anybody? Hey? By? He done?

Speaker 5 (44:17):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (44:18):
What's up? Hey man?

Speaker 9 (44:20):
So over the weekend, I was sending back watching Home
Alone with the kids, you know.

Speaker 8 (44:25):
Another Christmas Day classic.

Speaker 9 (44:27):
Yep, and we're watching the scene where Kevin gets into
where It with buzz so do spills. Everyone's upset. His
dad goes to clean up the mess. In that mess,
Kevin's ticket is within the napkins and he has thrown
it out in the trash. And I'm I was just
frozen because I said to myself this entire time. Kevin

(44:50):
his ticket was thrown away in the trash, and when
they did the head cout it even mattered anyway, because
the ticket agent at the gate went ahead and just
common leven tickets and let him in. I never knew that,
And so this weekend.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
There's a lot of things you realize as an adult,
Like in the Santa Claus with Tim Allen. Throughout the
movie there's all these little kid elves looking at him
like he's the next guy. But you don't notice that
when you're a kid. So in other words, when Santa
falls off the roof in that movie, he was just
sort of quitting his job, and Tim Allen became the name.

(45:25):
Tim Allen became the new Santa. But they like it
was all premeditated. I didn't pick up on that. I
never really was a big fan of that, but I
didn't notice that until I saw some clips about it
this weekend. Can I give you I give you my
Hottest my hot home alone, take sure, because it's not that.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
The second one is better than the first one. We
all know. We all know that they're both.

Speaker 1 (45:46):
Really Oh, the Pigeon Lady is Piers Morgan. I didn't
know that either. The pigeon lady is really pures. Morgan
look at him side by side. He's right, no, I
don't understand the macaue family even one bit.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
You mean Buzz was the man for thinking.

Speaker 1 (46:05):
That Buzz wasn't the biggest jerk of all time. Like
they're in a school assembled he's had a hot girlfriend.
Buzz is putting the candles on Kevin's head, phantom drumming,
you know, air drumming on Kevin's head, and then humiliates
Kevin mccali's in front of the whole school in church,
and then Kevin turns out, he's like, what are you doing?
Pushes him, and the whole thing is blamed on Kevin

(46:27):
when Buzz is the worst and he just looks like
he's doing and then Buzz doy not automatically assume he
did it. And then Buzz goes in front of his
family and he's like, family, I want to apologize and everything,
and then then he looks at Kevin. He's like ahead,
he say like trout sniffer or something, and then Kevin
reasonably is like, how could you fall for this?

Speaker 2 (46:47):
You idiots?

Speaker 1 (46:48):
And they're like, Kevin, your breath. I don't get why
Buzz was in the right at all.

Speaker 2 (46:56):
I think that's just part of the charm of the movie.
I know, but I.

Speaker 1 (47:02):
And by the way, it's like, did you leave your
kid at home twice? We calling you're such a disease,
we calling child Protective Services on some at some point
on the mcallisters, well, enjoy your Christmas classics and happy Honka.
If you have any other last words and observations this weekend,
hit us up because otherwise we're playing a game.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
Next, what type of.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
Work did the mcallisters do?

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Do you see the house they have and they were
able to treat all those family members to a France trip,
a trip to France for the holidays.

Speaker 4 (47:30):
This is the dad working with Tony Soprano.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
Had to be doing something fun.

Speaker 3 (47:34):
He had to be doing something a waste management.

Speaker 1 (47:37):
And the and the brother, remember the brother in Home
on two had like just an abandoned three story like
apartment in New York City, which is probably what ten
million dollars.

Speaker 2 (47:46):
So the McCall the mccallisters are doing some shady stuff.
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (47:55):
I think, without any further ado, you want to get
into this let's do it late early every month.

Speaker 2 (48:00):
Day, Last one standing.

Speaker 4 (48:01):
Let's go.

Speaker 10 (48:03):
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia
love n Put your electronic devices down and pick your
sports knowledge.

Speaker 2 (48:18):
It's CNRS Last one standing, Last one standing.

Speaker 6 (48:23):
All right, I have four categories ready to go if
needed a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay
alive in the round. If you run out of time
or answer incorrectly, Iowa Sam takes you out with this
famous buzzer.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
No, do not want to hear that.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
We got the John Ramos buzzer.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
We keep battling until you are the last one standing
if you win two of the rounds. If you win
two of the rounds, you are the top dog. Here
are the contestants. Eleven time winner Steve Covino right next
to him, seventeen time winner Rich Davis.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
Oh you've been speaking.

Speaker 6 (48:59):
Please save your for Dan Byer, who's the leader in
the clubhouse. Thirty seven time?

Speaker 2 (49:04):
Wow this guy?

Speaker 6 (49:08):
Wow, All right, we're gonna We're gonna go to the
studio lines right now playing for a CNR Turbo ner football.

Speaker 3 (49:15):

What do you do for a living there in Virginia?

Speaker 8 (49:26):
Drive a big brown truck around nice?

Speaker 4 (49:33):
What can brown do for you?

Speaker 6 (49:34):
Spotty is the fact checker during this game. I hate it,
by the way, out of anxiety. Okay, I say this,
Danny G coming up in radio.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
We all started right driving radio vehicles, station vans and
stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (49:46):
Right.

Speaker 1 (49:47):
My boss was really adamant about if the UPS truck
is clean, our station vehicle has to be clean. It's
just a rule.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
We have words to live by. Ye, yes, all right.

Speaker 6 (49:56):
By the way, the clock is going to start as
soon as I say your name, and spot will check
the answers here. First, first category, half decade, whole lot
of winning. You have five seconds to name an NFL
team that has the best winning percentage over the past
five years. NFL team best winning percentage over the past
five years will take the top sixteen. Covino, you are

(50:18):
up first, starting right now.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
The Chiefs out of the way.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
The Chiefs number two with seven oh six, Rich, Let's.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
Get the Buffalo Bills out the.

Speaker 6 (50:28):
Wing number one six buyer Eagles Eagles number three six
seven to one, James Raving, Ravens number five six two four,
Coveno Ravings, let's call Cowboys Cowboys number seven six oh

(50:49):
six Rich the forty niner number six six one.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
Two Buyer Packers Packers number four or six two nine,
James Rams number nine five seven six good bowl Coveno Man,
that was mine?

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Three one Vikings.

Speaker 4 (51:17):
Vikings are on the list right under the wire at
five seven.

Speaker 6 (51:20):
Six staying alive Rich, mm hmmm three.

Speaker 4 (51:27):
Two the Texans none of the list.

Speaker 3 (51:31):
Everybody all right? Buyer, I wrote them down, Rich, so
cross them off. No, it was a good guess that
was uh.

Speaker 1 (51:38):
Buccaneers Bucks Yes, number eight five eighty eight, James Chargers
number twelve five sixty four Yeah, Coveno.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
Three two one.

Speaker 4 (51:56):
Saints not on the list. I just threw it out.

Speaker 3 (51:59):
There, Buyer.

Speaker 4 (52:01):
Lions are on the list at thirteen with five fifteen.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
Man.

Speaker 1 (52:05):
I thought there was a couple of bad ones mixed
in there with the Lions. Good one dB Back to
James Steelers.

Speaker 4 (52:10):
Steelers are on the list at fourteen with five five
four one round.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Because Tomlin's never had a losing record.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
Back to Bayer, I'm going to go Bengals.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
You would be correct at fifteen with number five forty eight.

Speaker 3 (52:22):
Really good poll, James, all three.

Speaker 4 (52:27):
They are right at the bottom at sixteen of our
list with five thirty six. That means there's one more
left dB.

Speaker 3 (52:33):
Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (52:34):
That would be it. Yeah, we've completed the list, all right.
That means Buyer and James both get a point there.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Okay, we'll do it. There you go. Congrats. Guys are
great round.

Speaker 6 (52:44):
Man, great round. All right, So Buyer James both on
the board. We moved to the second category. Bring them out,
Bring them out. You have five seconds to name an
NBA team who leads the league in total attendance so
far this season.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
Man, that's tough.

Speaker 6 (52:57):
Total attendance so far this season. And some of this
list is based, by the way, on how many home
games the team has had so far. So think about that,
all right, NBA teams lead the league in total attendance.
Will take the top fifteen, James, you're gonna be up first.

Speaker 4 (53:13):
Right now, Go Oklahoma City Thunder number thirteen, dB Nicks
Nicks at number four, two hundred and seventy seven, three
hundred and sixty eight. All the numbers the Lakers Lakers
are on the list at oh wait, yeah, yeah, ye,

(53:34):
we're at top fifteen. Where am I?

Speaker 3 (53:39):
Yeah they're there? Yeah sorry, Oh good Covino, it's the Spurs.

Speaker 4 (53:44):
Spurs none the list.

Speaker 3 (53:47):
What wait?

Speaker 2 (53:49):
When Ben Yama's not selling tickets? I find it hard
to believe.

Speaker 3 (53:53):
All right, back to James.

Speaker 4 (53:55):
Oh, Bulls are on the list number twelve, Good ball buyer, Warriors,
Warriors none the less?

Speaker 3 (54:04):
Wow, not in the top fifteen?

Speaker 2 (54:06):
Rich three, Does someone say Celtics, No, you did Celtics,
Celtics nonethless?

Speaker 4 (54:19):
My list the list?

Speaker 2 (54:20):
I have no Wow?

Speaker 4 (54:22):
All right, I based off I'm gonna you know what,
I'm gonna double check this list.

Speaker 3 (54:26):
Hang on.

Speaker 5 (54:26):
Well, to Danny's point, there may be not enough home games, right,
you know, so.

Speaker 1 (54:32):
With such a short sample size, if someone played two
more home games and another.

Speaker 4 (54:36):
Team, hey, it is what it is.

Speaker 8 (54:38):
It is.

Speaker 6 (54:39):
Some on the list have eleven home games, whereas other
teams have sixteen sixteen.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
And this is a bunk question. But no adity unless
you know, unless you know what team has played more
homer away games after the first part of the game, Rich,
it's a bad question. Educated guesses.

Speaker 3 (54:56):
All right, we'll go to the third category.

Speaker 5 (54:57):
How about question, Well, next question, it's a bad if
they finish it out. Yeah, we got eliminated, doesn't.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Well I think James was the last one.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Then you know what, give him a prize. But let's
wake one more round.

Speaker 5 (55:10):
Okay, that's what I would say, we go perfect, all right,
Third job, James, Third category James.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
It's like you got in the postseason. By the way,
the Calves number one, they had the most games. You got,
you got, you got in the but you had to
wait to see another team lose.

Speaker 10 (55:25):
The.

Speaker 4 (55:26):
Calves and MAVs.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
Yep, all right.

Speaker 6 (55:28):
Third category, money to maneuver. You have five seconds to
name an NFL team who has the highest estimated cap
space going into the twenty twenty sixth season according to
spot track, going to take the top sixteen.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
They'd say this one more time than any.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
Of our money to maneuver.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
It doesn't like this one. Let's go to the next time,
but the other way. But you can get my point.
The last one. There was no rhyme or reason. That's
all I like to I like questions that are based
on like, there's still rhyme or reason to total attendance, Yeah, how.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
Many home anyway, forgetting who knows that? No one knows.

Speaker 6 (56:04):
Okay, go on, all right, you have five seconds to
name an NFL team who has the highest estimated cap
space going into twenty twenty six. We'll take the top sixteen. Covino,
You're up first, starting right now.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
It's this go the Bengals.

Speaker 4 (56:20):
Bengals are at number four with one hundred and ten
thousand job Rich Raiders. Raiders are at number three with
one hundred and sixteen thousand buyer million, sorry million, sorry Jets, sorry,
Jets number two, one hundred and eighteen.

Speaker 3 (56:35):
Million on a roll.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
James Commander Commanders at number six with ninety four million.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
Coveno any want to.

Speaker 2 (56:43):
See the Jets? Yeah yeah, oh yeah, Hold on the Saints.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
Saints nonemalists with the Saints too. It's sat your day, yes,
damn ain't's rich? Titans say my game? Titans are number
one with one hundred and twenty million.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
Number one. Fire. What about the Giants?

Speaker 4 (57:05):
Giants? None of the lists?

Speaker 3 (57:09):
James Patriots.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
Patriots are on the list of ten with fifty eight million.

Speaker 1 (57:15):
A right, nice, Rich, they get a double buzzer. That
three Arizona a little overlap.

Speaker 4 (57:26):
Yeah, I know, I know. None of the list.

Speaker 6 (57:28):
Okay, so James, James, you know what one period?

Speaker 3 (57:34):
I know he officially double officially went.

Speaker 2 (57:37):
To the band. When's the last time a calling contestant
won Last one Standing?

Speaker 6 (57:43):
It's been a few weeks. Wow, yeah, James, congratulations. We
did get one shipment in today, Spotty, can you explain.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
What the mailman came here? And yeah, yeah, the things
are on the way.

Speaker 4 (57:55):
I don't know, it's just like, yeah, they'll be here
and you'll get them when they're here.

Speaker 5 (57:58):
The big box of sea necessary.

Speaker 6 (58:04):
Well, half of our shipment came We're waiting for the footballs,
but the big box of coozies came in, so almost there,
just in time.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
For chanooka Christmas.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
I don't know what that means.

Speaker 1 (58:14):
I don't know what that means, but happy Chanukah. Great job, James,
appreciate it.

Speaker 5 (58:17):
Man.

Speaker 2 (58:18):
The game is sweeping the nation. Last one standing, it's tough.

Speaker 5 (58:23):
Can I ask a question on the heels of the
last one? What were the answers? Because I was going
on rookie quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Same and then I realized I messed up with color Murray.

Speaker 3 (58:31):
Yeah, Ben Titans one was good. That was a good guess.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
I was very confident that written down. Yeah, I had
that too.

Speaker 3 (58:36):
Yeah, so what were the answers spot.

Speaker 4 (58:39):
With the rest? So we had Chargers at five with
one hundred and ten million, okay, and Rams at seven
with ninety two million, Seahawks at eight with eighty three million,
Steelers at nine with sixty six millions. That rounds out
the top ten there.

Speaker 3 (58:52):
It is not my train of thought.

Speaker 1 (58:54):
Yeah, yeah, I was thinking of teams that hadn't had
to give a quarterback a big deal yet, and then
I realized I messed up with color. Sorry, but hey,
good one. That was a good question. Another one before it,
I will I will debate all day. Would you like
to answers to that?

Speaker 3 (59:06):
Dude?

Speaker 2 (59:06):
Well, you know why?

Speaker 1 (59:07):
It's it almost it would almost be like being like, hey,
damn Bayer, name me the stadiums that have the best
churros in sports as your guests.

Speaker 6 (59:18):
There's no stat on in a couple of the Texas Arenasi.

Speaker 2 (59:27):
Probably California that'll pass out.

Speaker 3 (59:29):
They don't have a team. Who cares?

Speaker 2 (59:30):
Did you know all the cap space or did you
just make a guess?

Speaker 1 (59:33):
But what are saying? There's an educated guest there? There's
no educated guest with the other question, there.

Speaker 2 (59:39):
Is some schedule. Yeah, the schedule just because you don't
follow follows.

Speaker 5 (59:43):
The only thing people know are the Grammy road trips
that the Lakers would have or the Rodeo trip.

Speaker 3 (59:48):
Yeah, I mean the Spurs have come on, yeah, come on.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Thank you anyway, thank you Dan, DB's got to hire.
Thank you, Danny g.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
You have yesterday we said out the Cowboys can sort
of stay in the mix if they win and they
lose on a you know, by the way, a quick question,
rich because I know you have deep analysis to get
not really what you prefer, like a crappy loss that
the Cowboys had and then Dak Prescott finding the positive

(01:00:19):
thing to spin or like Joe Burrow, who Dan Byers
said is going to continue starting and he's like almost
keeping it too real, where he's like, yeah, I played
terrible and I wouldn't want any game we stink Like
he's keeping it real and I get it. But what
do you prefer in that moment? I mean, what do
we learn from Dave Chappelle? Sometimes keeping it real goes wrong,

(01:00:40):
goes wrong right, like your quarterback, just like your coaches. Sometimes,
like we gave Aaron Boone so much crap this year, right,
they almost have to keep it positive. I mean, the
Yankees for all the crappy game, and they made it
to the AL Championship. You know, you know the contrast
is so noticeable there. Well, think about that. I mean,
we'll talk about it tomorrow. Would you expect from a

(01:01:01):
leader Dolphins at Steelers tonight? Now, if the Steelers win,
they're seven and seven and the Ravens are seven and seven.
On the other side of things, in the NFC, the
Panthers are seven and seven and the Bucks are seven
and seven. So there's two divisions where clearly they're not
going to have two teams make the postseason. So let

(01:01:23):
me ask everyone in the room of those two divisions
with multiple weeks to go, you got three weeks to go. Panthers,
are Bucks, Steelers or Ravens. What's your combo? Which teams?
Which teams find the way to win that division? For me,
even though they looked horrible lately, I think the Bucks

(01:01:43):
still have a little more experience and they played the
Panthers twice.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
So I'm gonna go Bucks and Ravens. I'm going Bucks Steelers.

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
Danny g I wrote down Bucks Steelers. Okay, so it
is wild to think that even though they are bunk
teams that are getting trying to make the post is
that those are still gonna be really fun battles because
who doesn't love close football like that. So it's just
so much to look forward to over the next three weeks.
And tonight we'll see if the Dolphins save Mike McDaniel.
So we'll see until tomorrow. A Riva there, chie baby,

(01:02:15):
see you in the Promised Land. I've have a great
Monday night. Go bye, better guys,
