Speaker 1 (00:22):
I think more than ever, Rich, more than ever, you
could noticeably see how health is the biggest part of
a successful team in the NFL this season. It's so
important to getting ahead if you have your health more
than ever before. Health is always a priority, but more
than ever before, that's what's opening the window the widest

(00:45):
for you this NFL season because of the significant injuries
that we're seeing. So in other words, if you have
the healthiest squad out there, you have the greatest chances
to win. And who does that benefit the most? I
think I have the number one answer on the board.
We've always said health play a factor in sports, But
for some reason, there's certain teams you look at and

(01:07):
I said to you know, Mike, who runs this place? Yeah,
I said, look at my forty nine ers? Who they
forty nine ers? They went out, Oh, Mike. Yeah, Mike.
If this team wins out and Dan Bayer Seahawks take
care of the Rams this Thursday, the Niners could be
the one seed. Niners is a good answer, but I

(01:27):
think there's a better answer as far as who health benefits.
I'm saying that benefits. I'm saying you could do all
the what ifs of Imagine this Niners team who's somehow
hanging in there. Imagine Bosa and Fred Warner hadn't been injured.
This team would be a super Bowl favorite. But then
Mike said, if buttson, what do you say here? If

(01:48):
if some butts were candy and nuts, we'd all have
a merry Christmas. We'd all be having a feast. And
then he said it. Then he also said, if my
uncle had if my aunt had nuts, you'd be my
aunt my uncle had Anyway. Yeah, but that's what I
don't like about your Yeah Rich's theories, Lane, though, I
think you know, hey, Madgine, if Bosa didn't get hurt,

(02:10):
you could say that about almost every team in the NFL.
I'm just saying there's some that benefit more, and it's
shocking that some are hanging in there. But I think
the guy that I look through the glass at every day.
The best update guy on planet Earth, Dann Byer Seahawks
knock on. What if they stay healthy? They are a
team that could surprise everyone. And I'm not saying they're

(02:30):
not the best, it's just key players are in the
lineup they are playing. So many other teams have notable dudes,
like the Packers. Everyone was so high in the Packers.
Did you see the injury list they came out of
last game on the Green Bay Packers. I mean not
only the last game, this entirely. It's like as long
as like Santa's list. It's ridiculous. What's the weekend was

(02:51):
flooded with injuries?

Speaker 3 (02:52):
So they lost Michael Parsons. We know, ye Josh Jacobs
has been dealing with a sore knee kind of popped
up again after the Bears win two weeks ago. He
didn't practice much last week but still ended up playing.
Christian Watson was seen on the turf.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah, I mean, I mean talk playing your team, you
know has stayed relatively healthy and they're so under the
radar that the Seahawks can end up being the one
seed and have everything go through the Pacific Northwest and
it would be like, wait a minute, what the Seahawks.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
I don't want to put anything out into the universe,
but I think that another key thing about the Seahawks
is there are players who are better than others on defense,
but they went through they had some injuries in the
secondary this year. Now that maybe normal stuff. I think
is Camino is saying everybody deals with injuries, which I
totally agree, but they're so based their defense is such

(03:46):
a team effort sort of thing that they can absorb
some of the losses. Like Ernest Jones missed a couple
of games, but that wasn't necessarily missing. Maybe it's different
on the offensive side of the ball. We talked about
Charles cross but the left tackle maybe being in jeopardy
of missing Thursday's game. But I think for the way
that their team is constructed that they're able to maybe

(04:06):
navigate if they were to miss certain pieces.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
So basically what we're saying is, uh yeah, ifs and butts,
if you get thoughts were candy and nuts, we'd all
be having a feast. This is the most evident season
where health is wealth, where the healthiest team is the
wealthiest team. Whoever has the most health heading into the
playoffs probably has the greater advantages. It's more visible, more
noticeable than ever before. Just the phrase health as wealth

(04:31):
is something you hear a lot. But I'll be honest,
the many you turn forty in life, but especially this
season in the end, if many you turn forty, you
look around at your parents, your friends, people, you know,
as we all get older, Oh we take it for granted.
You realize when you're twenty something you feel like an
invincible little jerk, to be honest, like you're walking around.
You're walking around like nothing could go wrong. You hit
your forties, you know, mortality and thoughts and injuries and

(04:54):
all these things are more visibly in your face. And
in sports this year, I feel like NBA you're seeing it.
But the NFL this season, my goodness, yep, the healthiest
is the wealthiest.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
I'd give be.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
One of the most key elements of this Thursday's crucial
Seahawks Rams game is, hey, is Devanta Adams gonna play?
So you could play all the what ifs if you
want rich, right, all the what IFFs? Well, what if?

Speaker 5 (05:18):
So?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
What if Mahomes had a you know, a better season
and better protection. The thing is those are what ifs
based on like if they did better. There are teams
that injuries, like the Buffalo Bills. Well, I'm glad you
said them, because pause they by far, I know you're
gonna say you're niners. You could say Dan Seahawks. I
think by far, it's the Bills that benefit the most.

(05:42):
You got the Bengals. Joe Burrow's been banged up all year,
So counut the Bengals. Count out the Chiefs. The Ravens stink.
The Steelers are average. This is the Bills window to
finally do it. This is their season and this is
their chance to win. And if they don't, then they're
the weakest, honestly, and this is the Bill's greatest opportunity
to benefit on healthiest, being the wealthiest and cashing in

(06:04):
on a relatively healthy team led by Josh Allen, even
though he was barfing at the end of the game
this past game. Based on the fact that the Chiefs
have dealt with injuries, the Bengals have dealt with injuries.
The Steelers are good, but I'm not buying that hype.
Their average, and the Ravens are asked the Bills have
to win. This is their season. To capitalize on all

(06:24):
the unhealthy teams that are falling short in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
I would also say that your guy's argument, which I
think is a very fair argument, is highlighted by two
players who have not been injured this year that we expected.
And one is Christian McCaffrey, who has been magnificent this season,
like he has been the rock for the forty.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Nine and knock on what people thought, he'll never be
the same yet, and he's gonna arguably have a thousand
yard rushing, thousand yard receiving season. Yes, I think that
that is a key part. And then the other one
is the guy that we weren't sure if he was
going to play Week one and now he's your MVP,
and that's Matthew Stafford. So for like I would have,
I would have been one hundred dollars that Matthew Stafford

(07:09):
was gonna least miss a game this year at some point.
Oh yeah, remember the Rams didn't even really want him back.
My grandfather used to say, I'll bet your dollars to
donuts whatever that means. Yeah, but I bet you dollars
to donuts and he'll get injured. McCaffrey and Stafford, clean slate,
knock gone away right, Yes, And the season's not over.
So I don't want to put the jamboozie on anyone
because I never want to root for injuries. But if

(07:31):
you think injuries are done, there's still three plus weeks
of NFL football, So god forbid, something else happens.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
We didn't know if Stafford was going to play week one,
week two, or week three or whatever, because remember they
were they were kind of in limbo. They weren't saying
about what he was going to do, and so then
you're expecting the worst. And then he's just gone out
there and is now minus two fifty to win the MVP.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
H And when you think about and I was saying,
my Niners, and it's an interesting thought because the Niners
lost two of the best players on their whole team,
Nick Bose and Fred Warner. What I was saying is
when they lost those guys, it was like season's over.
But then they somehow stayed afloat. And you watch other
teams around the league losing key guys as well, so

(08:11):
it's almost, dare I say, starting to become a push
well if healthiest as well? You know, I'm just trying
to make sense of this conversation. AFC is open for
the taking, and I think the Bills have to take
it and capitalize on this theory. Right as far as
the NFC rich, you and your forty nine ers and
Dan and the Seahawks have to battle it out. I

(08:33):
think that game, which damn Pier, that's the one day
the forty nine ers are going to wear those black uniforms,
those ones that we thought were some thought we're hideous,
some thought were cool. They're rocking those week eighteen, and
people said, what would they wear them? Then it might
be a meaningless game. Meaningless game that could be for
all the tostitos as you say, you know, that could
be for all the marbles forty nine or Seahawks. If

(08:56):
your team wins on Thursday against the Rams that Week
eighteen matchup, they could be multiple Week eighteen matchups that
are like playoff games.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Yeah, Steelers, Ravens. It was even you know, highlighted last
night of what all could happen. Yeah, a lot of
different things that could happen to allow that. But you know,
to Covino's point about the Bills in Josh Allen, I
thought it was that way at the start of the season,
even before the injuries kind of came in because the
Chiefs got off to that zero to two start, the
Ravens weren't winning and then they lost to the Chiefs

(09:27):
with Lamar Jackson having his injury. And at the time, guys,
it was the Colts. We were saying, yeah, Buffalo could
go to Indianapolis and win a game. Now look at
what injuries have done to the Indianapolis Colts that they
have to bring in Philip Rivers to be their starting quarterback.
And it wasn't just the season ender with Daniel Jones,
it was the fracture in his leg prior to that

(09:48):
that was an issue for them in having such a
great start to the season and then them kind of
scaling back and now being on the outside looking in. CJ.
Stroud was knocked out for the Texans. Now he's back
in that's good fortune for them, and now they're making
a push for the top of the spot on the
AFC South.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
I like how you use the term good fortune, and yeah,
the Texans could be right in that mix two with
their defense the way c J. Stroud is playing good
fortune Because I saw this in a meme one time, Rich,
so it has to be true. Of course. I think
the Chinese symbol for crisis is the same as opportunity. Well,
you see that a lot with the stock market a

(10:26):
lot of times, because when there's a lot of red,
people are panicking. I'm buying. When there's crisis in life,
there's often opportunity, and the same things applying here with
the NFL, with all the injury, with all the crisis,
for these other teams, this is great opportunity. Who benefits
the most is really the question. And Dan Byern mentioned

(10:48):
a good fortune of having CJ. Stroud back and healthy
and they're playing well. Yeah, I think the Texans benefit,
But I truly believe it's either in the NFC you're
forty nine ers, or the Seahawks and the Bills in
the AFC. Those are the teams that benefit the most
because they have the greatest opportunity based on the crisis

(11:09):
of injury that the other teams are dealing with. I'm
looking at our feedback. Someone called me Niner boy. You
are nin er boy, but the Niners are Okay. The
only thing I disagree with is Rich saying that, Hey, man,
imagine if Bosa and you know they have, because you
could say that for every team league, most teams are
dealing with injury and significant injuries.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Because by the way, I mean.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yesterday, I just this past week and alone for the Packers,
we talked about all the injury. But what I'm saying
is the Niners are a team that lost two megastars,
two Pro Bowlers every year and you thought, well, they're
still playing. Well, my team's lost big players and they
stink they're done. So I'm saying, like it is interesting,
like if that hadn't happened, the Niners might be like
dominating everyone.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
I think that you look at Nick Bosa and I
just at some point he was going to get hurt. Yeah,
I don't think Fred Warner's that case. Like I think
the Fred Warner one is the one where you're like, oh,
what could have been? But the way that honestly, the
way George Kittle missed the first five six games of
the year for the forty nine ers, was that a shock, right, Like, No,
it wasn't because George Kittle not And I'm not saying

(12:13):
that these injury prone and gets hurt all the time.
The way that these.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Guys, he's a little reckless and he's getting older.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yes, yes, like it's been in your life.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
It's going to happen like it's And so it happened
to Kittle early, it happened to Nick Bosa, the Warner one.
I don't think that you can expect. But then that
goes back to Christian McCaffrey and saying, man, this guy
is touting the rock as well as he ever has
in his career at this age.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
I personally just don't like ifs and butts. I like butts,
but I don't like ifs and butts when we're talking
about health in the NFL. It's just part of the right,
like you can't predict that. You almost have to assume
that someone's gonna get hurt. Could could take Niner boys
and some alternate universe universe where your forty nine er

(12:57):
coaches didn't do such a great job coaching this team
back up. I wish your record was actually four and
nine so I can call you the San Francisco four
and Niners.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Could have been the you're winning, winning.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Thank you, thank you so good your thoughts.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
But four and Niners come on, and then Dan had
the forty Whiners? Right?

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Was that a couple of weeks. That's like the Seahawks
get sea chickens. Yeah, because the chicken is not as
ferocious as so you see sea chickens and we get
complain o and bitch.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
You know what we're really on rich is that healthiest
is the wealthiest in life. In life, we need to
view things from that perspective a little more. Right, as
long as everybody is healthy, we're all doing great. Is
the wealthiest because people love to complain, Like you said,
complain ow and bitch, but we're not actually in the
NFL more than ever before. The healthiest is the wealthiest.

(13:51):
You ever talk to your parents? I talked to my
mom today. She's like, oh, my legs are sore. I'm like, Mom,
do you stretch? Do you like do any cardio? I'll
take a walk around the neighborhood. Oh I should, I
think like everyone's parents are on the I should bandwagon,
Like your dad's looking great now, but how many years
were your dad just like taking trash care of himself.
You always say that like you lived on a diet
of pretzels and coffee. He still needs to stretch though,

(14:12):
like our parents, like, eh, my knees hurt you like
you are you active? No?

Speaker 4 (14:18):
What are you doing? Do you do? You drink enough water?
Who wants water?

Speaker 1 (14:23):
You know? Health as well. And I want to point
out one thing less I brought up. The angels is
not the word to describe him playing well, but does
not look angels. Aaron Rodgers, that was a huge win
last night. I don't think we have I liked his
victory yesterday. I love him pounding around with Zach Wilson. Dude,
I totally forgot about Zach Wilson for a minute. Exactly.

(14:47):
Do you remember his mom? Do you remember his mom
more than him? Uh? No, But he's a guy we
talked about a lot. And I'm like, oh, yeah, that's right.
He's on the Dolphins. Forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Still gainfully employed.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Yeah, all props to But they're pounding around because their
pounds in their jet stays. Aaron Rodgers. Winning that game
last night meant that they have slight wiggle room headed
into week eighteen. Let me let me Sam schedule watching place.
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
The rich loves to look at the schedule game schedule watching.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
By the way, you always talk about this wiggle room,
is that by Mike's office somewhere? Oh, no, that's in
our new contract. We're getting a wiggle room. Where is
this wiggle room you always talk about, right next to
the champagne room. Oh so a little bit. The Steelers
schedule for the remaining three games. Let's forget Week eighteen
because that's a head to head against the Ravens. They

(15:43):
play at the Lions, and the Lions are fighting for
their dear life. It looks like the Lions are out,
but you know they're not going to give up. So
let's say the Steelers loose the Lions, they're eight and seven.
They beat the Browns, they're nine and seven, So they
go into that final week against the Ravens at nine
and seven. The Ravens, however, they play the Patriots and

(16:04):
the Packers. If they lose both of those games, week
eighteen doesn't matter. So the Ravens are The Ravens are
playing desperate. Every game for the Baltimore Ravens moving forward
is desperation mode. And you could have dropped. You could
have dropped both of those games and hope that the
Steelers lost the one game against the Lions and still

(16:24):
been a lie for Week eighteen. But if you're the
Ravens and you're a Ravens fan, you you better be
saying a couple extra Hill Mary's and Al Fathers tonight,
because it looks very daunting. Their final games are against
the Patriots the Packers, and then they got to play
the Steelers for the division if it even matters at
that point.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
And I don't know if it's gonna matter if those
teams get into the playoffs like that's and that's the
other like to get in for what yeah, right, like
And I hate to think like that. But when you
are talking about these two teams with it Aaron Rodgers
and the Steelers in their history and the Ravens being
so close the past couple of years making it to
the playoffs and bowing out early, is which I think

(17:04):
that there are five or six teams that would beat
those teams.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I could agree with you more, Dan Byer. Everyone was
raving about that victory last night and how good Aaron
Rodgers elected, how well they played against the Dolphins, And
I'm thinking to myself the whole time, Look, I get it,
you have to talk about it. The game just played
out and we're watching it. This is the focus of
conversation here, But does anyone really buy into them winning anything.

(17:30):
I don't not at all. No, if I you know,
if it happened, would I be mad about it? No,
not at all. I'd be a cool story. But I
mean in the beginning, I don't see that at all.
Let's rewind you've ridden. Let's go back to August. By
the way, that was not that was me doing that
house Fritten. It's pretty good. I think we all agreed

(17:56):
that if Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers one one point
playoff game, you said, I believe Steve Kabino, you said,
that would be the barometer of success. Like if Aaron
Rodgers came back took this Steelers team to the playoffs,
but then won a playoff game and made it to
the divisional round, you said, hey, he's already shown me
he had more than I thought he did. So I
remember you saying that that would be sort of your gauge,

(18:17):
like you can't no one expected the Steelers to really
do much. But I remember clearly you saying, dude, if
he wins one playoff game for the Steelers, that shows,
like yo, he still has got enough juice and it
doesn't hurt his legacy, and you know he's showing that
he's still a winner.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
And that would be the first playoff win for the
Steelers in like nine seasons if I'm not wrong.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
Which would show of all winning seasons by Tomlin. Yeah, yeah,
they haven't had they haven't won a playoff game in
like almost a decade. That would be a great I
don't want to say send off, but I'd say a
great comeback for Aaron Rodgers. Man. It's gonna be a
wild postseason. I can't wait. I'm I'm salivating at the
next few weeks. We're gonna go over all the games

(18:59):
that mean a lot this weekend coming up in a
little bit. Plus again, tonight, something else is going on
in the world of sports that I don't think anyone
cares about even a little.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
We'll get to that.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
If you don't know what I'm talking about, hang tight,
you're gonna be like, wait, what's going on tonight? We'll
get to that. Plus, I have a question for you guys,
I need your help. Has to do with a little
holiday Thanks for the bell sound effect, jingle Vata, thanks
for the bells, and we're gonna go of a holiday
hypothetical that I need your help on. So we'll do

(19:29):
that and a bunch more. I'd just have to correct
the help the forty nine er is thaying because I never
said they stayed healthy. My point was the fact that
they've stayed afloat and now other teams have matched their
level of hurt. I never said they stayed healthy either.
What I'm saying is they can capitalize on these other
teams that are suffering. Yeah, but when the forty nine
Ers stayed afloat after those injuries and Kyle Shanahan somehow

(19:51):
found a way for this team to win, Yeah, they
put themselves in a position where like it's almost like, yeah,
but you know what it's like, rich, you were so
hurt at a disadvantaged and then everyone slowly and surely
around you. But you had so many star players that
if you went down, you still had more star players.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Yeah, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
So you benefited from having a stacked team, but the stars.
But a team like the Seahawks or the Bills, I
think of the two that stand out to me. And
there's a few AFC teams like the Texans that have
gotten healthy and looking good right now, So we'll see,
we shall see. Hey, and if the Steelers, who had
a great game last night. But again I look at

(20:28):
it like against the Dolphins, if they can keep moving
forward with that momentum, I'm not hating, I'm just stating
what's up.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
dB.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
The one thing that I would say is you could
say that the Bills lost their best defensive player in
Ed Oliver, but everything rides so much on Josh Allen
that it's just if Josh Allen's healthy.

Speaker 1 (20:48):
Yeah, that's true. I'm looking at some of our feedback.
Someone actually agree with you on that sentiment that Josh
Allen's is such a game game decider. Just how he
shows up, it sort of sets the whole tone.

Speaker 3 (20:59):
Of the game. Yeah. And if they don't have him,
they don't have a chance.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Yeah, blind guy creations say how to him? Tammy balanced
to Esteban, Joey elbows, everyone chiming in on the inhow chat.
Some of them I can't repeat, but I do want
to say that. Mikey seventeen forty eight said, I don't
know what you guys are talking about. My Bears have
the most games missed with injured players this season, and
look at them. The Ben Johnson effect is real? Is

(21:23):
that true? They the most injured team? Mike I don't think.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Your word for it. It Maybe there was no practice
today for Roma Dunzeir Luther Burden, so those wide receivers
were out of dun't say missed their game against the Browns,
but could very well be. But Caleb Williams has been
under center for every single one of them, so that's helped.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
When QB one is healthy all year, it's such an advantage. Yeah,
you're giving away like no freebies to anyone. Yeah, that's
Stafford point you made before Dan Byron. That was a
good one. I mean, that's the biggest, the biggest surprise
in the offseason. I remember dB, we speculated would he retire?
We speculated is his back injury gonna be one of

(22:02):
those things where every other week or so it's like
Matthew Stafford.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Questionable with lower back.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Nothing.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Also, just the fact that the Rams were like, go
ahead and look elsewhere, kind of like the what do
the Rams know that we don't know? And they went
and they allowed him to look around. He ended up
going back to LA, then ended up not being healthy
in the preseason, which we thought was another red flag,
and then having this MVP sort of season. Crazy. I mean,

(22:29):
now without Devonte Adams. We'll see what they do. They
lost pookin a coup for a couple of games middle
of the year. But I want to make this point too.

Speaker 1 (22:34):
You know, I didn't leave the Rams out of that
conversation because I forgot they're eleven and three. Dan Byer
brought him up, and I'm like, yeah, damn, he's right.
They've been solid and Stafford being there all year really
not expected. They've won. Right when I say opportunity, like
you got to capitalize Josh Allen, this is his chance. Stafford,
this is his chance. I mean Stafford Darnold's this is

(22:58):
his chance. This is his chance. That's what I was
getting at, Like, this is their opportunity to capitalize on
these injuries on these teams. So the healthiest is the wealthiest.
And we'll take your feedback. At eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox, there's another big thing going on this weekend.
It's like, if Taylor Shift doesn't put out an album
that year, some other pop star has a chance to

(23:18):
be like the girl or guy that year.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Absolutely, you know you have the chance.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
When Jordan retired, that gave opportunity for a few teams
to sneak in there for a few years. These injuries
have given opportunity to other teams to really step up
this weekend aside from Week sixteen beginning, we have a
big fight on Friday. Does everybody realize the fights on Friday.
We're not used to Friday night fights anymore. Grew up

(23:47):
loving Friday night fights, but big pay per view and
big events have become a Saturday night thing. Saturday Night's
all right, Saturday nights at night for fighting. That's what
Elton John told me. But I like to fight. You
like the Who version of what Saturday Nights all for fighting?

Speaker 3 (24:00):
That's a cover song.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
No, No, the Who do cover it and it's fantastic.
They you're saying, whose version is better than Nelton John?

Speaker 6 (24:08):
I like it more Saturday Saturday Saturdays.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Really, I think you're doing BA City rollerses. Hey, Well,
the name of the song is Saturday Nights a night
for fighting. The Saturday It's all right for fighting. The
Jake Paul aj fight is Friday. And Rich has a
dilemma and we want to turn dilemmas dilemonade. Let me
post the question. We'll go to dB for an up
day and then we'll take some fun feedback. Now, Friday

(24:34):
night is fight night. I invited all you guys. I
invited the show Spot, Danny g Sam Cavino, Dan Byer,
you know, if you guys are part of the show,
come over. I'll order some food, watch the fight, have
a little cocktail up by the fire pit afterwards. And Sam,
you pointed out it's also some college football playoffs. Oh yeah, night.
Huh we got some action. I'm excited. The song isn't

(24:59):
Saturday nights and for college football playoffs. So we got
college football playoffs and a fight night Friday night, Friday night.
And I have a question that has to do with
when you invite someone, who does that invite extent to
I'll explain, but let's go to dB for an update.
Dan Byer, what's doing a Dan?

Speaker 3 (25:18):
We'll see if Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel invites two
a tongue of Iloa to their starting quarterback party in
week sixteen, because apparently that job is up in the air.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
We're in the process of game planning for the Cincinnati Bengals,
so we're trying to determine who'll give us the best
chance to win.

Speaker 4 (25:35):
I'll probably give you more clarity on that tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
As for the quarterback play last night, which was handled
by Tua, McDaniel said, quote, it was not good enough
end quote. Rams head coach Sean mcvacid wide receiver Devontae
Adams could be a game time decision for their game
in Seattle on Thursday because of his hamstring strain. Chargers
head coach Jim Harbass speaky with The Dan Patrick Show
today and DP asked him about his connection or conversations

(26:00):
with Sharon Moore, the former Michigan coach who was arrested
last week.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
When's the last time you talked to Sharon Moore?

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Early December?

Speaker 3 (26:06):
But I have texted.

Speaker 4 (26:07):
Him nothing since he was arrested, just text How are
his spirits?

Speaker 1 (26:12):
I think I think it's a trategy. So what the
worst days of his life? And you know, keep it
together and uh and take care of your family. That's
you know, that's the message. And I getting spiritual guidance
is really critical.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Harbaud was asked by DP if he has any role
in firing or hiring more successor at Michigan. Harba says
his focus right now is on the Chargers and their
Week sixteen opponent, the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
So it's time for a Tirecht play of the day.
Rogers and Metcalf. Sounds like a law firm. Rogers and Metcalf,
have you get if you get a fender mender called
Rogers and Metcalf oxy dentes. Rogers and Metcalf were on
the same page last night. Rogers in this shot untapped
both sides of the helmet one on the play clock
gets a snap Dolphins bringing pressure.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Throw over the middle. It is complete.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
The DK Metcalf pearls aside one defender the end zone.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
For the Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
What and ever by DK Metcalf.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
Both guys having a game last night, and that's courtesy
of one O two five w DVE Steelers Radio Network.
That's our tirec play of the day. Yeah, Cavino and
DK Metcalf, same workout, right, Yes, same workout. Lest He
played Saturday nights at night for fighting because we're used
to Saturday night fights at this point. But Man used
to be Friday night Fights Man. And on Netflix this

(27:39):
Friday night you get Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua and
word on the streets is well, two things we'll be
breaking it down on our bonus pot this week, over
promised with Cavino and Rich, We're going to welcome boxing
Analyst two tone to Superstar. He's gonna break it down,
tell us his pick probably gonna be Joshua. But why

(28:00):
find out on over promised right here on our YouTube
page Covino, Enrich FSR and where on the streets is
Anthony Joshua already looking ahead? You say, fa number one
channel for pirates c and R on FSACH Pirates love
us huge with and events like in Sidbrien aj looking

(28:23):
ahead of Jake Paul. So it shows you where his
head is at. Do you say that he's so confident
or is that bad? Because they're saying that he's working
out a fight with Tyson Fury following this Jake Paul too.
If Anthony Joshua, he said, if I don't destroy Jake Paul,
I'm disappointed. Like he pulled like an Evan drago, like
I will destroy him. Well again, as far as analysis,

(28:46):
Covino and which FSR will do that on Thursday, right
on over promised. But as far as the invites and
how we're going to handle this Friday Night Spectacular, there's
lots to keep in mind holiday parties, ugly sweater parties.
Do you combine them? Who do you winvite? Like? If
you're inviting families, do women wives? And I'm sorry to
be sexist here, but do wives and children really care

(29:09):
about the fight? Does that interrupt the festivities? Is there
such thing as a Is there such thing as a
boys night? If it's not specified when you're grown up? Yeah,
but add the holiday layer to this too. You're gonna
have people over on a Friday night, assuming like it's
Christmas time. It's Christmas time. Is this holiday party like? No,
it is a fight night. And by the way, it

(29:31):
takes such offense to Esteban on our intro chat. What
do you say because Rich feels like a guy that
has bland humus at his party.

Speaker 3 (29:37):
I have.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
All. I know, you're the guy that thinks that it's spicy,
but it's not have all he licks his fingers and
afterwards because he thinks it's so spicylic Yeah, but it's
not guy any think guys go home with it. He
gotta goes home with a full belly every time he's
in my house. Now he's lying about pumus. Rich guy's
gone mild and the you guys gone mine, good ones,

(30:03):
true guys gone line.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Rich has the bitchen sauce set out.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Dude, I love sauce, I will say, though, Hey, I
didn't say I don't appreciate the fixings and the food
which has but I bring it all, you know, actually
you don't bring it, Spiky, what do you want? You
gotta bring the spy, you want something like some of
them burn your bungholes. But the question is, guys, just
to you know, give it to you straight? Can you

(30:29):
have a guys night or is that just late? What
does that have to be specified? Like I said, if
I invite everyone over Friday night and I invite some
of the dads from you know, the Pony league with
their kids, am I assuming wives and kids and other kids?
And does everyone just at this stage of the game too?
Our kids and wives always implied I think they might
be are we school boys? Because I didn't think about
it until one of my buddies said, is it everyone

(30:49):
or just like me? I'm like, oh, I noticed if
if my girlfriend's working, it's it's a pros night when
people come over. Hey, your thoughts at COVID and Rich
We got more next guys, guys, let's be rocking out everybody,
sort of like Dave Chappelle and no, I'm not making
myself the Dave Chappelle of radio. He started at ten.

(31:09):
But Dave Chappelle is younger than you think. Is he
started doing comedy in the clubs and he was a teenager.

Speaker 7 (31:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
No, So when you think of like young Chappelle in
like Half Baked and movies like that, he was like
a kid. So Watchapell's like fifty feels like way old,
way to God. I was a young guy working at
k Rock, New York. It's a great story, by the
way I can tell that two second twenty second story.
Young guy working at k Rock New York. Receptionist was

(31:35):
like stepped away or something and it was someone at
the door. So they're like, hey, Cavino, can you uh,
someone's at the door. Can you go see who it is?
And I walk out there and it's a young ass
Dave Chappelle. He's like hey, and I was like hey hey,
and I recognized his face.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
It was like way before he was faced.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
You were talking. Really, this is the nineties. He's there
in the lobby, like by the elevator, trying to get
in and I'm like, hey, man, Dave Chappelle, right, comedian guy.
I know you, man, I'm a fan. I was a
young guy in New York. I just maybe had seen
him out a few times. I just knew who he was,
and I go, what are you doing. He's like, I'm

(32:15):
here to see Howard. He was there to see Howard Stern.
But it was a day off. Howard Stern was not
on the air. It was like holidays, like right around
this time of year. It was a holiday season, and
I was like, yo, Dave. I was like, I know you.
Hear his voice on the air, but it's a replay.
I was like, he's not here today. And he's like, oh, okay,

(32:36):
well he made that face, you know, that stink face,
like all right, you know that kind of face. And
he goes, all right, well this never happened, and.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
He just walked.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
He walked his tail between his legs, hit the elevator
button and like waved goodbye. And that was my first
encounter with Dave Chappelle. But you're right, Rich, he was
a young young man. He must have been seventeen nineteen
around when he started comedy. So yeah, we celebrated twenty
one years on the air together yesterday, Thanks again for
all the feedback at Covino and Rich and if you

(33:06):
ever wanted to try an Olympic and or Paralympic sport,

It's gotta say what's up to Missouri on the intro
chat saying stuck in traffic? Thank God for Covino and

(33:27):
Rich and the intro chat keep me laughing while I'm
sitting in traffic. Hey, thank you very much. You could

Why is on the phones at eighty seven seven ninety
nine on Fox I with Sam's here on the ones.
The two Spotty's on the videos again, watch what you hear.
Covino and Rich FSR. We're talking about the fight night
and Rich was saying all sorts of important information off

(34:10):
the air about this Friday night was well, I was saying,
when you when you invite people over and you're a
grown up, you're no longer like a dumb twenty year
old solo guy. If you're twenty something, you're like, hey,
well you guys want to get together and watch a fight.
You go from a Fred party one to Fred party
of four real co Yeah, Like my buddy Jason is like,
hey dude, and he put this in my head. He goes,

(34:31):
I get you inviting me, me and my kid who
you coach, or like my whole family.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
And I'm like, that's right.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
When you get old families like five people, Yeah, you
need to like specify. He's got three kids and a wife.
So there's a big difference of you want to come
watch the fight, So how do you? I think the
rules are implied like this when you invite people like, yeah,
my wife is having a girl's night or she's going
out to dinner with her friend, so it's sort of
spoken that she's not going to be there. So no
need to bring your wife. My wife even said to me,

(34:59):
she goes doing this like a boys night. She's like,
I'll go out with one of my girlfriends for dinner
and drop our daughter at her friend's house. You could
keep our son at the house and it could be
like a boy's night. So, because it's not a holiday,
I think holiday party implies bring your significant other fight
fight night means like, hey, like, yeah, if your wife's
in the fighting, bring her. Otherwise a bro's knight. All right,

(35:21):
let's go to Barb in Illinois. Barb, what's a specified
info you got to give for these type of parties?

Speaker 5 (35:26):
Hey, Barb, Hi, how you doing? He's my voice? I
have a cold. It's been timberlow here.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
So they got back to get a scarf? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Really, and I'm Kelly born and raised. How's that one?
Rich needs to specify? And having a few guys over
to watch.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
To fight, No, Barb's allowed for me work.

Speaker 5 (35:54):
No, seriously, if you say come on over, you know
we're having to get together the weird implace right there.
It's Rich in this way. So for Rich, if you
just want the guy, yeah, yeah, having a few guys over,
But there's nothing wrong with.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
That righting wrong with the guys night fight night and
less of course, like I said, of course your your
daughter or your wife happened to be huge fight fans,
and yeah, sure they're involved, but most aren't. Let's be
real about that. Uh, Dave or date in Kentucky? What's up?

Speaker 4 (36:26):
Man?

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Le's go on?

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Well, I hope ask me with poles on end, but
I'm not far.

Speaker 7 (36:34):
But you've got to specific you've got a man cave
or a man garage.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
Hey, guys are getting together to watch about few drains.

Speaker 5 (36:41):
You're welcome to come.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
You know, I think this is a more topical and
relevant situation Rich than you even realize. Because it's a
holiday weekend, it's the holiday season. Hey guys, I think
that you know, people are going to find themselves in
a stickier sit situation of yeah, it's we're in the
middle of December, like yeah, yeah, are you like having

(37:04):
people over for like some holiday fun or are you
just think yeah, sorry, kids, sorry, wifey, I'm going to
watch the fight at Rich's house And they're thinking, yeah,
it's the holidays. I thought we were all going out together,
So it's a peculiar time to have a big fight
like this on a Friday night, Jake, Paul, Anthony, Joshua
this Friday on Netflix. They you go, you know, let's

(37:27):
say one more phone call, will move along Jersey everybody.
Mitch wants to talk about the Rams. I believe what's
up there, Mitch.

Speaker 7 (37:34):
Marry Christmas, guys.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Merry Christmas. Brother, Happy Hanukah too.

Speaker 7 (37:41):
It's been a great football season.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
I think.

Speaker 7 (37:46):
The Rams, Rams and Charge of football.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
I think, what's the chance that have that'd be great
for you guys, Rams and Chargers.

Speaker 1 (37:52):
They would both just have to drive up the West
coast to San Francisco, but Rams and Chargers as possible.
Are you going to pretend that I hear the little
nose picker in the back? How great is that? I
love that? He's just like, Yo, be quiet, I'm on
the Radio's Richt, Mitch, leave him?

Speaker 3 (38:09):
No, I'm Jux.

Speaker 4 (38:12):
Talking on the radio.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
Yeah, he's singing jingle bells in the back.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Guys, quick one, speaking of nosepickers. No, I'm kidding. Tonight
I go to my first school concert for my son.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Okay, I had to ask the ground rules you guys.
You guys have going through it. Rich Cavino's been through it.
I asked my wife, and I felt very bad asking this,
I go, do we sit through all of the grades
or can we just leave once they're done? She told
me the doors closed, like no one's allowed to leave

(38:46):
until after the whole thing is done. Did you guys
ever experience Okay.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Of course, because there have been times where I've had
a I guess they do daytime, nighttime, multiple performances, right.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
There have been times where I've had to.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Go to something and it's very tight window for me
to get here at Fox Sports where my kid goes first,
and I'm like sweet, and then I look around. I'm like,
I can't leave right now. I gotta like stick around.
But when you're the worst is when your kid goes first.
When your kid goes first, and then you have to
sit there. There's a dance studio out here in LA
where they perform a three hour dance production like a

(39:21):
legit theater. Dan Buyer like, I was unaware. My daughter
did one three minute dance and I had to sit
through three hours and she went at the very end.
If I would have known that, I would have been like,
I'll meet there. You know what happens too, Dan, does
your son happen to have a little solo or something?

Speaker 3 (39:40):
No?

Speaker 1 (39:40):
No, does he have a special part.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Or Christmas time?

Speaker 1 (39:48):
Well, I'll tell you what, because one time, my daughter,
when she was really young, right, she has some sort
of solo that she was practicing for like a month,
and you know, her worries became mine. I'm just rooting
for her so hard. I remember I had the up
and I held my breath the whole time she did it.
And really I realized, like because I was so nervous, yes,
that my heart started pounding for her and I hadn't

(40:08):
breathed like the entire time that I almost faint. Yeah,
I'm serious, because I was so there in the.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
Moment you pulled Josh Allen, Yeah, dude, I almost fell over.
I also would think you would be furious if some
dude just got up as your daughter was about to
start singing and was like, all right, we're out of
here now.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
You got to say, yeah, so you gotta is that
what little Brodie pops it with? So it's fine. You
remember when you did your tuba cello playing the tuba? Yeah,
but you know, my thought is one other thing. dB
it's your first one, right. Yes, you got to be
aggressive to get good seats unless they were signed, because

(40:47):
parents will push you out of the way. Don't be like, oh,
after you. If you say after you too many times,
you're sitting in the back. Sure, if you're in the back,
escape you realize if if little Brodie's going to be
that little crazy kid, like he's just having the time
of his life, or he's just like stuck in the moment,
like staring into space.

Speaker 3 (41:05):
I'm wondering what it's gonna do, bros. So funny.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
My son is like the kid who like Jings. He's
John Ritter and Jim Carrey all one. I'm like, Ben, there's.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
All these other kids that are spaced out, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
It's so funny. The other thing is if the school,
because a lot of schools do this, if they say, hey,
for twenty bucks, we're gonna sell a copy of the performance.
Take your phone out and record thirty seconds for your
own thing. But then take it and enjoy because I
feel like all these little kids, they look in the
crowd and it's just a bunch of parents holding their
iPhone and it's like it's like live in the moment,

(41:42):
because I promise you if they do have like the school,
they hire them a lot of.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
Times they hire value. They make an announcement, we're filling this.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
We're gonna sell copies for twenty bucks, copies of what
Blu ray DVD on. No, we need a device it
we don't have anymore. No, they'll sell a digital link
like they do that at all the school performances. Yet
still they'll be every parent that's recording the whole thing,
like it's I got a concert. You go to a concert,
you see someone recording the whole thing, You're like, what
do you doing? You think Brody's gonna hit the high note? Why,

(42:11):
I'll tell you I went to a concert.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Remember well they're still around. Remember Greta van Fleet of course, yeah, they're.

Speaker 6 (42:19):
Very Yeah, the whole led Zeppelin there, they played their
hit song second Oh yes, the one where that was
used in commercials, that was very popular.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
After that, you're like, I'm done.

Speaker 3 (42:34):
That's all I kind of feel tonight. If they go.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
First wow, well, hey, good luck. I'm just hope that
buzz isn't behind your sonde. I think it's fun though. Yeah,
you know what I used to dread like sticking around too,
but you do appreciate all those little happy kids. After
a while, it doesn't matter you like them all.

Speaker 3 (42:51):
I root for all of them.

Speaker 1 (42:52):
I told Cavino earlier today, and he's like, are you serious,
Because there's a lot of Jewish kids at my kids
school right we live in Los Angeles. They insert some
honka songs in the Christmas concert, but since there's not
a lot of honka songs, as Adam Sandler has pointed
out over the years, they put Jewish words to old
pop songs like my daughter's class. I said, are you

(43:15):
serious because they made a honka song out of lobamba.
I don't see the connection at all. They're my daughter's
doing two Christmas songs and they're doing it's like ha
ha ha hanikahanika labambarable. Dude, it is you gotta spin
The trade over is no, no, no, no no. I love honic,

(43:36):
I love ladkas. I'm just saying I don't see the
combination there. But anyway, enjoy your holiday fun, enjoy your festivities.
Good luck to Brody tonight and and for all the
kids to celebrate Christmas, and hankah luck at you because
you get double the gifts because your parents feel like
they need to. Yeah, yeah, but eight Crazy Nights and Christmas.
Start playing your Friday night too, and and do it wisely.

(43:57):
It could be a holiday party, it could be a
fight night, but you gotta specify. Like Barb said before,
is it a bros Night? Jake Paul aj Or? Is
everybody invited? Be clear on the invite, but enjoy the
fight and we'll be talking more about it as the
week goes on. Now we have shacked Diesel trivia. We're
gonna get too later on, so stick around for that.
We're gonna be giving away prizes multiple choice Whacked Diesel

(44:20):
has some questions And speaking of whack Diesel, that's an
NBA trivia. Well, we'll get a winner, give away some prizes.
It is hmmm, hey, the howidays? What do you think
about tonight? You know, anyone that cares about the NBA Cup,
Nix and the Spurs, I think, listen, if you really
are an NBA fan, you maybe watch it just because

(44:41):
you love the game. But I was trying to think,
and I was having a hard time thinking.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (44:46):
I know that might sound crazy to you. I had
a hard time thinking about things. I just really can't
care about. And I feel like I'm supposed to, like
when I tell you, I couldn't care care less about
the NBA Cup tonight. I don't know one person or
one fan. I'm from New York. I have a bunch
of friends that are Knicks fans. I haven't had one

(45:07):
buddy be like Tonight's the cup. My wife from my
wife talking about it. My wife Sarah's from San Antonio,
New Brounfles, Texas. Not one of her buddies, and she
has friends that listen to Fox Sports Radio from the
East Coast. That's what I just said.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
All of our.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
Buddies are Knicks fans. I haven't heard one person bring
that up.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
Yeah, just said that I don't care.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
I don't care, so.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
I'm just reiterating it. Is there anyone that's pumped up
about this? Maybe some of the players because there is
bonus money involved for some.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
Of the the youngsters and the guys that might be
on like a two way contract.

Speaker 1 (45:42):
And that's that's the point we made last year. It
takes time. Like World Baseball Classic, no one cared about it,
and then we had one series that popped off three
years ago. It was great three years ago, and now
people are excited about this when coming up, I don't know,
like sometimes these things take a minute to build.

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Here's the problem that I feel that the NBA Cup
has because there's been a lot of talk about the
games playing in Vegas. If you look at this run,
it's been a run of three. I think best case
scenarios Lakers win it the first year with Lebron, Like,
wouldn't that be like the the best case for it.
The last year the Bucks beat the Thunder, so the

(46:19):
Thunder make it to the finals of the NBA Cup
and then go and win the NBA title. And now
you have a Knicks team that's very popular with the
NBA's you know, future star and current star and everything
Victor Webman, Yama, and it's still not getting buzzed. Like
there's They've hit on a lot of things with this tournament,

(46:39):
and it still isn't getting people interested.

Speaker 1 (46:41):
dB you also work with The Gottlieb Show, and he's
a big basketball guy, college coach, like you know, Doug
bleeds basketball. Is his sentiment that this is a big
deal or sort of a fail.

Speaker 3 (46:52):
We have hardly talked about it.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
And tell right, So it's sort of thing buzz.

Speaker 4 (46:58):
We're not hating on it the very beginning, From the
very beginning of this, we thought it was two euro.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
Well you know why, because I think the reality is
when the prize is the NBA Finals, I think it
seems weird, like no fan base is like, guess what,
we won the Cup and that right there like proves
it right there. Do you know, like would anyone be
stoked about that? Nope? If you go to Lebron James's Wikipedia,

(47:25):
well under like the accomplishments at the very bottom, it
does say NBA Cup Champion and NBA Cup MVP.

Speaker 4 (47:33):
So but remember his sentiment back then he wanted to
do it for the young guys on the bench. Yeah,
he ain't care and we could all tell that. And
some of those guys aren't even you know, I'm the
Lakers anymore, maybe G League or out of the league.
But yeah, this this is not creating buzz. And I
know that they're going to change locations next season and

(47:55):
they're going to try to keep toying with the international
ideas that they have about this, But I just don't
think that this is for the long run in America.
It's not.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
We can't say we're all guilty. Right, if you're in
if you're creative at all, if you work in the
creative space broadcasting, radio, TV, marketing, whatever you do for
a living, if you're in any type of creative space,
you're lying if you say you haven't thrown stuff against
the wall that didn't stick. It's just the NBA is
a billion dollar brands. So when you throw something big
against the wall and you're like, as Dan Bayer said,

(48:26):
it could have gone better, like year one, Lebron wins.
Now we're into year three of it and you got
Wemby who just beat Okase in the in the quarterfinals
and the semi.

Speaker 3 (48:36):
Right, Yeah, imagine that this was an NBA finals. That's
the question I posed to Carrie Roads, like, if you
could take this we were talking on Sunday about this.
If you could take this match up and say this
is your NBA Finals in June, would you take it
a good one? I think a lot of people would.

Speaker 1 (48:50):
Of course Wemby, the star, star young player and the
knixt number one market.

Speaker 3 (48:54):
Yes, absolutely, I think it would be a home run end.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
Maybe nobody cares what you though, Maybe it'll be great. Well, tonight.
That's up for your viewing pleasure. But I know Kevino's
gonna be watching the finale of Beast in Me instead.
You know, I'm really liking that show. It's on Netflix now.
I'm just thinking of other things that. Like, I remember
in the world of boxing, they did the Super six
World Boxing Classic and andre Ward was in that. I

(49:20):
remember just watching how Carl Froth was call Carl Froth, Yeah,
is that a thing? But I just remember how much
I enjoyed that, and I haven't seen it again since.
Well they do with the I think people just don't
like those tournament setups in sports that I you know,
I don't know, just doesn't feel right. And you know what,
the NBA is toyed with different things, NBA All Star Weekend,
the NFL has toyed with different versions of the Pro

(49:41):
Bowl ever since we realized that people don't really want
to play full contact and they went to you know,
remember it was like the Manning Brothers or Captains and
they it used to be in Hawaii.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
Then they move that.

Speaker 1 (49:51):
So there are constant little tweaks. I just think the NBA,
unfortunately for as you know, successful as the organization has
been I don't know if anyone really cares your thoughts.
Carl Front was the name of you know what for it.
By the way, maybe no one cares. So we'll see
the feedback. Seems like nobody cares.

Speaker 7 (50:07):
Man.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
Just look what are people like? You're you're there picking
up your kid every day? What do dads love to
talk to rich about?

Speaker 3 (50:13):
Sports?

Speaker 1 (50:14):
Right or wrong? Anyone brought it up to here? When
I go to the barber shop, you know what they
want to talk to me about all the time? Sports.
It's almost when people if we haven't had one, when
the dads at school get win that like if that's
the lips test and its family. When dads at the school,
or like guys in the softball world I play in
when they get win, like oh wait, Kavino and Rich,

(50:35):
you then become like all they want to talk about, Like, hey,
what do you think about it? Should I use this
guy in fantasy? Or this guy I got no call,
damn buyer. Yeah, that's where I prefer. You see my
Lakers hat.

Speaker 4 (50:45):
In driving around town, you see lots of even Laker
flags on cars on the freeway. Still to this day,
you see lots of Lakers jerseys, but have you ever
seen an in season tournament championship shirt?

Speaker 1 (50:59):
Well, Christmas is still a week and a half away, Dan,
maybe I'll try to find one for you. Are you
saying you want a Lakers one? No, I'm saying that.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
I'm saying that our country doesn't care about in season tournament.
We care about championships.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Well, speaking of basketball, shack Diesel trivia, do that we'll
give away prize.

I think Kazam kaz Arm is better than the NBA Cup.
You guys want you to watch Kazam tonight? All right,

Eleven time winner Rich Davis right over there, he's going,

Speaker 1 (52:53):
We're gonna win a prize. I feel, I feel for you.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
Are you a real judge?

Speaker 7 (52:57):
I was a judge for ten years here in I
retired eight years ago. I'm busy practicing law and ever
now get on from work every even, give me a
Coors light and turn on because you know I'm rich
right wait from today?

Speaker 4 (53:10):
I love nice all right here with your honor here
are the rules for Shack Diesel trivia. The first contestant
with two correct answers is the champion. If there's a tie,
we have a tie breaker question. Your name is your buzzer,
but you do have to wait until all three possible
answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row,
we move on to the next question. Are you ready,
let's go, Let's get it out, all right?

Speaker 1 (53:29):
What former NBA player has the highest career free throw percentage?
Not you, Hey, Mark Price, b Steve Nash, We'll see.

Speaker 7 (53:38):
Rick Berry, Judge Judge Rick Berry, No.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
Rich Rich for the steal my instinct before you even
read the answer, Shack was Mark Price?

Speaker 3 (53:51):
No? Both loser wrong? Steve Nash shotover loser.

Speaker 1 (53:57):
Over ninety from the line, Steve Nash, Yeah, Nash over.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
Show me the receipts.

Speaker 4 (54:02):
All right, nobody on the board yet we moved around two?

Speaker 1 (54:05):
All right, Shak Diesel. Happy to be here, Happy holidays.
Which player was the first to win two NBA Finals,
two NBA Final MVP awards Hey, Willis Reid, b Will
Chamberlain or Ce Larry Bird Judge.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
Judge trying to get on the board.

Speaker 7 (54:23):
Will Chamberlain, No.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
No, man ilect your style.

Speaker 4 (54:28):
Go for it, Dan Buyer.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
What were the what were the answers? Again?

Speaker 1 (54:34):
Hey, Willis reed?

Speaker 3 (54:35):
Okay, I'll go Willis reed, You are correct, Sir Willis Reid.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
Nineteen seventy nineteen seventy three with the knicks.

Speaker 4 (54:42):
Dan Byer on the board as we moved around three, All.

Speaker 1 (54:45):
Right, round three? By the way, do you think a
J Jake Paul will go round three? You know what,
I don't think. So we'll see. What was our ones
quoter saying about stats? I'm having a fight now. You
can bring your whole family. So what were the ones
quarter saying about stats?

Speaker 3 (55:02):
Say?

Speaker 1 (55:03):
Alright, stuck numbers like Kringles. So I never sweated the stats.
Be the day I stopped worrying about stats is the
day I started winning? Or see Chuck's most amazing stat
line was nine trips to one Sizzler buffet, all clean plates, Sizzler.

(55:25):
Judge you want to take yes, I'm giving you a chance.

Speaker 4 (55:27):
Judge.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
I like your style.

Speaker 7 (55:29):
All right, I'm gonna say, b you are correct.

Speaker 3 (55:33):
Judge.

Speaker 7 (55:34):
You like the judge went away, one away, one away away.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
The day I stopped worrying about stats the day I
started winning.

Speaker 4 (55:43):
All right, So Dan Byer and the judge both on
the board. As we go around four.

Speaker 3 (55:47):
I will say, when Patrick Mahomes is here, his lines
aren't believable, but that Barkley line, I totally something like
that trip.

Speaker 1 (55:56):
Nine trips, nine trips to one Sizzler buffet. I believe
that all clean plates.

Speaker 4 (56:01):
All right, round four, try to break the tie here a.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
Right round four, shag Neaesel, who was the youngest NBA
player to score thirty thousand points in his career. Hey, Lebron,
James b Kobe Bryant, or see Michael Jordan.

Speaker 7 (56:16):
Hey, oh judge.

Speaker 4 (56:18):
Judge, you're Syron, you say Lebron, you are.

Speaker 3 (56:27):
Thirty three.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
He's thirty three years old. Yeah, youngest NBA players scored
thirty thousand points in his career. Congratulations, Judge, thank you,
Hey John you judge, I remember watched his arm this
holiday seasons. Hey, judge, Merry Christmas, my friend Mary Christmas. Boy. Hey,
by the way, I had to ask. I saw the
headline and I heard the clip. Charles Barkley says, I

(56:51):
don't care what Check's fat ass says. He's gonna also
give one hundred thousand dollars to the Dicky V Foundation.

Speaker 3 (56:58):
You're doing this all right? Yea?

Speaker 1 (56:59):
So okay, all right, there are things you do. I
got presents to deliver, okay, brother by Shackylus, Oh happy,
all right, litter, Thank you Shack, and thank you the
judge in Kentucky. dB. I caught that fun little tidbit,
and I want to I want to talk about that next.
Signed to the Bills practice squad, correct, Michael Bagley?

Speaker 3 (57:21):
Yeah, yes, could be activated because Matt Prater was injured.
So they've had some injuries at the kicking spot this year.
So Badgely donning number thirty two according to the Bills release.

Speaker 1 (57:31):
Number thirty two on the Bills. Hmm into Asante. Who's
number thirty two on the Bills? Danny g a guy
that we saw before he passed away on a Southwest
flight with a huge head, giant noggin?

Speaker 3 (57:43):
What's up, Juice? OJ?

Speaker 1 (57:46):
Simpson? Would you wear O? J. Simpson's uniform number if
you were on the Buffalo Bills? Number thirty two? Is
there some is there some type of bed karmel or
bad bad feelings?

Speaker 3 (57:58):
It was not worn by anyone from nineteen seventy seven
OJ's last year until twenty nineteen. Only two players have
worn it since, so one player in twenty nineteen, one
player in twenty twenty four. Not extensive use, just assigned
to players. But now Badgely could be bringing it out.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Well, I imagine, what are the Karmel rules here? Before
the alleged crime, he was sort of convicted of some stuff,
but before OJ did all the doing, it was probably
held because of retirement number purposes and he was a legend,
and then alleged murders happened, and then that gets sort
of gets taken on the shelf. Now time has passed

(58:36):
where some young kids probably like, yeah, number thirty two.

Speaker 3 (58:39):
So like the Cowboys don't retire numbers, but number eighty
eight is a cherish number if you're a wide receiver
with the Cowboys, like so that's one of the ways
that they can do it. Hey, if you're that next
wide receiver, Michael Irvin, you know Dez Bryant now ceedee Lamb.

Speaker 1 (58:53):
Syracuse says that with forty four. Yeah, Jim Brown, Sure,
And I'll just think if you're a Bill's player, you
skip that number, just like elevators skipp the number thirteen
thirty two, Like how in and out of skipping six
or another six seven.

Speaker 3 (59:10):
I'm sure they gave him a bunch of different options,
and I think Badgely's probably want to be like, yeah,
give me thirty two. But that to me is a
messing with with karma.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
Yeah, there's certain things you avoid likest same way, like
you said, Cedee Lamb Michael Irvan, like eighty eight to
a legendary number. Else, what is it thirty two? If
you have murdering tendencies like that, it's a tainted number.
That's that's why I think you stay away from it.
What are the karme rules here? It's like, would you
buy a home if someone was murdered there because it's

(59:41):
a great deal. Yeah, but when you feel weird about it.
I didn't feel weird about it. I think that happens
all the time.

Speaker 3 (59:46):
I mean, it does happen all the time.

Speaker 1 (59:47):
But the rest of piece, Rob Reiner, that house is
going to be sold to some other rich person that's
going to have to accept the fact that Rob Reiner's
him and his wife were murdered there. Look, I feel
weird when people die in a house and I don't
know about it. Yeah, you know Kovino's neighbors said to him,
get this. I was in the elevator with some bobo,
some bonehead, and he goes, hey, what's going on a neighbor.

(01:00:09):
I'm like hey, and he goes he goes, yeah, I
used to be pretty friendly with the guy that lived
at your place a few years back. And I was like, oh,
that's cool. He's a good guy. It's like, yeah, sort
of tragic how he died on the patio. I was like, dude,
every time I see myself, I see my dog barking
out into the nothing, I'm like, what are you bargain at?

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
I thought there was a law or a rule that
if someone dies in the dwelling and you sell it,
you have to disclose that.

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
About that too, And I think that is a rule
I did not know or law or whatever. I did
not You didn't ask ask. I didn't know this information.
It wasn't disclosed. It wasn't a like a tragedy.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Head the gray area.

Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
Yeah maybe maybe right. And the guy I saw my reaction,
he actually came to apologize to me later. I was like, yeah,
really sorry, Like why would you even tell tell me that?
Like this is small talk elevator talk and you had
to tell me that now like an hour to break
this down. Yeah, I'm like, geez, that's information I wish
I didn't know talking about you talk about death and murder.
But yeah, and that that was just a depth to

(01:01:12):
my knowledge murder. Would feel I would feel more closure,
I gonna say, I feel I would feel morally weird.
I see people morally weird. I would feel people who
karmel wized people buy houses and cars and stuff that
are repoted or foreclosed on. I almost feel like that's
sort of like, I don't know, like you're capitalizing off
of someone's misfortune, Like someone's dreaming mistruction went away, so

(01:01:32):
I'm gonna scoop up their house, Like I even think
that feels a little weird to me. So would you
wear the thirty two because it's available that's synonymous with
OJ in the and the bills? I got a question
for you, Oh, please go ahead. What are the karma rules?

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:01:47):
Would you wear number thirty two if you were a
bill that's when you skip on that's OJ's number. Do
you capitalize on people's misfortune? Do you believe in that
sort of karma stuff you mentioned buying storage units from
people that didn't have the money to pay for it.
There's a very popular story out there right now where
some guy bought a storage unit and it was all

(01:02:08):
of Travis kelcey stuff. Did say that, and he wasn't
going to play that carme rule. He's like, yo, I'm
reaching out to Travis first if he wants all of
his stuff, and dude, it was very personal stuff like
all of his like football accolades and jerseys and videos.
And he's like, if he doesn't want it, then I'll
sell it. I mean he could play dirty because he

(01:02:28):
is marrying a billionaire. So I mean that that guy
is very high. Yeah, he hit the jackpie. He has
all of Travis Kelsey's personal items, So you cabitalize off
this capitalizing off of someone else's or like I said,
the idea of wearing OJ's number, that just feels weird right,
like I don't know, doesn't sit right with me. Same

(01:02:51):
same I would say, you skip that one. And I
don't blame Michael Bagley. I think the bill should take
that off the table because everyone sees it. Or if
you're back to Jay, if you're a practice squad kicker,
it is a cool way to get some social media
buzz going real quick, like like no one cares about
Michael Badgeley until a sudden Oh he's wearing oj N

(01:03:14):
if you're in or murdered though, Rich, yeah, you know,
I think you skip on that.

Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
By the way, the Patriots player who wore number eighty
one after Aaron Hernandez was Tim Wright. He was acquired
from the Tampa Bay Bucks and made his Patriots debut
wearing that number.

Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
I think it was wrong. So that's my thoughts on that,
and we'll take the rest of your thoughts at Covino
and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. But remember tomorrow's show Wednesday,
Words of Wisdom, Midweek Major and then we'll talk boxing
on over Promise right after this show. Wait, looking forward
to it, and guys, have a great night NBA Cup
tonight if you're interested. Spurs and Nicks and Kevino, I

(01:03:51):
know you and I both are up to the same point,
the finale of the Beast in me. Yeah, I'll be
watching Claire one. It's a good one, all right. Enjoy
until then, there you baby, see you in the Brahma's
Lady for Christmas
