is the show for you. This is up on Game

Did you hear that? LaVar Arrington, t J. Houds Manzana,
(01:05):
Plexico burs It's a show with three of the best
to ever do it on and off the field, live
from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios and now Here's
Pro Bowlers. Lavarre Inted, t J. Houshman, Sanna and super
Bowled Chippy and Plaxico Burress. What's up, everybody? You're good
(01:28):
Saturday to y'all. Hope you're enjoying your your day. Do
you like coffee, I hope you enjoyed your coffee. If
you like cookies or doughnuts, not that old good stuff,
I hope you're enjoying it. And speaking of cookies, where
my cookies that the shots out to mix Well Cookies
(01:49):
People's organic cookies, jugamon on mixed Well dot com. Stoke
cookies was fired. Uh, you're listening up one game. I'm
Lavaris and that's t J. Houshman's out of one of
the cookies. On the other side of this is Stretched
Armstrong himself one Plexico birds. What's up? PB? Not much? Man?
(02:10):
What's going on with it? Fellas? What's going on? Brother? Man?
I don't get no cookies way out here? Man, I
mean I'm hearing I still didn't get mine, so right,
they said him downstairs with the cookies, and you don't
deserve a cookie, damn down down still. Uh. So you know,
it's a it's a playoff weekend, and obviously we gotta
(02:32):
jump into these playoffs and talk about them. But when
I came into the studio. You guys will be interested
to know that, you know Gavin, which is shouts out
to Iowa, Sam and Gavin and David Gascon. The team,
the full full Foltron crew is together to defend the
universe against evil evil um creatures of h yeah evil. Anyway,
(02:55):
Gavin was talking about this whole Deshaun Watson thing. Gavin,
I want to bring you in because I said, let's
let's just let's start off the show with this UM
because you know, you were really pumped up about it.
Tell me what is the latest. So s I had
done a story I think back in December about Jack
Easterby and and this you know, former chaplain with the
(03:18):
Patriots who came over to the Texans and it ended
up being the interim GM and pretty uh wild you
know uh you know rise right. You never hear of
a GM from you know, originally a character coach. Well,
this over the past two weeks, it's even gotten worse,
and now we've heard more about Deshaun Watson allegedly wanting out.
(03:39):
In this article on s I dot com kind of
details the last two weeks going in from the last
game where Jack Easterby after the game was just praising
Deshaun Watson but leaving out J. J. Watt or anybody else,
just completely ignoring the rest of the team. And the
point of the article is detailing that everyone in the
(04:01):
organization outside of the owner Cal McNair is fed up
with Jackie easterbyan wants him to, you know, be a move,
moved off some of the personnel, UH decisions in the team.
And so it's caused Deshaun Watson to want out. And
there's complete organizational dysfunction right now. And I just wanted to,
(04:22):
you know, get your thoughts on what what the best
path is for Deshaun Watson as one of the best
quarterbacks in the league. Well, I'll say this and I'll
throw it out to you guys. Um when I think
of something like this and what what what it sounds like.
Once once you've told your girlfriend, I don't bang which
you like that, I don't. I don't really fool what
(04:44):
you like that. I don't. I don't really want to
be in this relationship with you like that. In fact,
I kind of if I could move on from you,
I would, I don't. There hasn't been a very in
my world, there hasn't been a very high percentage of
the relationship finding a way to work out. I've never
seen it with friends. I've never seen it with family.
(05:04):
I've never seen it with me. When I was done.
I was done once once that emotion turned off, and
and it turns into just really not feeling a certain
type of way about you gotta move back from the
from the bikerophone plex like, I feel like I feel
like you that girlfriend, and I'm breaking up with you
(05:26):
all in my air player. Yeah, And I didn't want
her to breathe in my air anymore. And I didn't
I didn't want to be a part of that relationship anymore.
And that's it almost sounds as though where we are
right now, we cannot move forward together. That's my That
is my take on it. No matter if they fixed
(05:47):
every single thing, you still gotta think that's embarrassing somebody.
Somebody is being embarrassed by what Deshaun Watson this feeling.
Somebody is upset at what this on Watson is saying
and what he's feeling. It's even if you try to
fix it. At this point, I've already said I don't
(06:09):
want to be in this relationship. I'm of the opinion
just like if a player doesn't want to play for
your organization and your team, and you can find value
in moving him, which they surely can, you move on. Now.
It doesn't put you behind eight ball, of course it does.
Now you have to find your franchise quarterback after already
(06:30):
having them. But if you're going to tell him we're
gonna keep you in the loop and then you don't
do it, that's a problem if you moving forward. Now
they're going to interview Eric b Enemy just to pacify
him because they see where he's at. They did not
think he would probably go public with his feelings and
(06:51):
how he perceives a situation and where it's going. He
wants to establish a winning culture. Is he wrong for that? No,
And the majority of quarterbacks that we know that have
signed a type of contract he signed, and our franchise quarterbacks,
they're kept in the loop, and you're gonna be judged
off of the success and failures of the team. And
(07:12):
if you have if you don't have the input and
you one out. I believe because the Jets pick second,
the Dolphins picked, they picked third. If they aren't moving
off of their quarterbacks. Those two teams. Now you can
possibly find a franchise quarterback. Talking to Houston Texas with
the second or third pick, you get Deshaun Watson up
(07:34):
and maybe another player and that accomplish it what they
first round pick next year. So you get two ones
and a high level starter and there you go. And
LaVar Man you were talking about. You said, when the
emotions leave, you're done. But this whole NFL thing, man,
it's a lot different from every other sports n B
(07:58):
A and and baseball. You can't just walk into an
NFL office and say I don't want to be here,
I want to be traded. That's the guys that uh
James James Harden can do. This is not basketball, So
this this is a holy This is a total different,
totally different situation that we haven't seen before. Giving their
(08:20):
contract that he has received, I just don't see how
they can move him with what what is it? A
hundred and eleven million I was guaranteed in this contract
and in his in his in his first year. But
then listen, I understand he's upset. I get it. I understand.
(08:40):
And then you've got guys like Andre Johnson, all the
guys are coming out supporting them, who was the only
the the only guy in the ring of honest saying that,
you know, Easter b has done nothing since he stepped
foot into the building. He's wasting careers. He's wasting careers.
That doesn't sound good on any level. We all played
in the same areas. We're talking Andre Johns. That dude
(09:02):
was quiet, so when he said something, that's almost like right. So,
I I just don't see how how this situation is
gonna get any better. And on top of that, they
want to interview Eric Benny for this job, but Eric
Benemy isn't even interested in the job. So so so
what do you do now? So they just gotta figure
(09:23):
out the way to make this guy happy. Uh. He
obviously he's still upset from them trading the way Deandrew Hopkins,
which we would never understand. I don't think he's ever
going to recover from that, from having a skill playoff
his caliber. But I just don't see how this thing
is gonna get any better anytime soon. They said they
was going to keep him in the loop. They didn't.
We know how these front officers go and playing in
(09:46):
this business. They're not They're they're not always going to
cater to what you want. They're gonna do what they
think is best for the organization. And they're showing them
what they think it's best for the organization, would not
even keeping him in the loop, which they said they
were going to do well. And this is what I
do know. I know this is not baseball guaranteed contracts
(10:10):
like that. I know it's not basketball where you can
leverage yourself out like what a James Harten just did.
I I understand those points, and I value what what
what you're saying. But I still think that when the
damage has been done publicly in a public forum, there
there there is going to be a residual fallout from
(10:33):
what what takes place. But this is the thing that
let's be honest, they have they they've had a public
falling out for everybody to see. You planning this business understanding,
do you think they really killed but what he thinks?
They don't care. We know that, But this is this
is this is why this is so different than anything
(10:56):
we've ever seen before. Never are franchise quarterbacks unhappy because
they're not made unhappy. They're catered to. We know this.
So now that you have a young franchise quarterback in
the prime of his career. The organization has always catered
to him, They've always kept him in a loop. These
(11:18):
things would never happen now that they have. Will see
how they navigate through this, because this has never happened
before with a quarterback of his caliber at his age
saying I want out. We've never seen it before. And
trust me, the best football is still in front of them.
(11:38):
That's the scary part about the whole situation. You don't
want to you don't want to unhappy. You want to
stand your organization and be a franchise quarterback. So how
are you going to rectify this situation? And seeing that
article that's written, he says, I want out. If that's
the case, and you can get some value for which
we know they can, you do it. I'm not trying
(11:59):
to a married to a person that wants out of
the marriage. Now we can talk through and she's just
cause you. You can tell me that you're not into this,
you're not into this marriage and and we can try
to figure out if that's your feelings talking and we
can work through this. But be clear if if your
(12:22):
spouse has checked out and said I want out of
the marriage. I'm sorry. I I can't fake that. I
can't say I don't care. Let's just keep going. Let's
just I pay you too much to be in this marriage.
It's cheaper to keep you. I don't care about any
of that. We gotta figure it out because some way, somehow,
(12:42):
it's gonna be the downfall of both of us. It's
gonna be the downfall of of both. I've always said
that if you're if you're an owner or a head
coach in this league, and you have a player that
does not want to be there, then find a way
to get them out of it, because if you have
(13:04):
that doesn't want to be, especially a quarterback. So let
me make this personal. When I had my contractual issues
with the Washington football team and we were heading into
that that lockout scenario, and you remember all the teams
had to reach structure or had the contract restructured to
(13:27):
get under the cap. If if we didn't get the
new CB A deal done, I had already been embarrassed.
My my reputation was drugged through the mud. I was.
I was. I was discarded pretty much as as a
person of interest on that that team and as I
(13:48):
represented that organization, and I knew for certain that my
contractual situation was going to lead me to being had
buy them for as long as they could and letting
me go at the last possible moment, with me having
no real opportunity to find a team for me in
(14:11):
that situation, which is a tap bit different because there's
a lot more money involved in it for Ford Shaun,
but the the idea of it is the same. I
did not want to be there. I did not want
to be I have felt like I had already wasted
so much time in my career and I was literally
at the end. I mean, plex, I get hurt the
(14:32):
next year with you, and that's it for me. Like so,
if you're making these decisions, these are some serious decisions
that you gotta make. I gave back over two million
dollars in salary money just to make sure that I
could have a fair opportunity to look at the teams
(14:53):
that I think about this that I would want to
play for that it may sense for me and and
what I wanted to accomplish at this point in my career.
And thank god, um I was able to do it,
and and thank god I was able to go be
a Giant for five months. I didn't complete an entire season,
(15:14):
but it completed an entire career to know that there
are really good organizations out there that handle things in
a great manner. And I was able to experience that
just in a small amount of time going to New York.
So for me, if I'm Deshaun Watson, then have the conversation.
(15:34):
If you want to get out so bad, let's figure
out what bonuses that we can. We can you know,
work through y'all pay me this. I'll give you that.
That's not gonna have to happen because wherever he goes,
that team will assume the contract. Yeah, the Texas, you
take a cap hit. You're basically saying we're starting over.
So go ahead and start over. Trade Deshaun Watson. It's
(15:58):
hard when you have a quarterback that has not bought in.
That's hard because how how do you go through that?
How do you pull the quarterback to the side and say, hey,
this is what I need out of you. He he's
not even in, he ain't all in. He's not all
I don't think that he's not not bought in. I
just think he's more disappointed with some of the moves
(16:19):
that and if they don't move him, that animosity will
only grow because he's going to be frustrated unless he
tells them. They tell him, okay, this is what we
plan on do. He agrees, okay, I'm on board. If
that doesn't happen, it's always gonna be animize and you
know that. Another thing to think about is if if
guys like Deshaun Watson can execute these things, then it
(16:41):
creates a new standard and a new expectation, which could
be interesting. You guys interested in the conversation taking place,

We're talking about Deshaun Watson. What should happen? He's unhappy
with the way things are going. He wants to get

(17:02):
should the Texans handle it? How should Deshaun Watson handle it?
Do you think it's right? Do you think it's wrong?
We want to hear all of it, but we put
you up on game all the while. Right you're listening
to up on game, I'm Lavarrington. That's t J. Hudgmans

Hushman's out of Plexico Burrs on Fox Sports Radio. We
are talking about Deshaun Watson and what's going on with
(19:33):
him in Houston. But we also got a lot of
different things that we want to get to as well.
Today we want to get to your calls, as you
know also, So let's let's, you know what, let's go
to the call line. Let's let's go out to San Antonio.
Let's talk to Robbie. Robbie, what what say you? Hey?
What's up? Game? What's going on? Hey? Man? Y'all got
(19:54):
a cool I don't think i've ever heard y'all show.
Y'all got a cool line of a hope that's that's
a ball and water hote. Know you appreciate That's what
I'm talking about. The host for real, Well, y'all got
a cool sound of show. I'll make a quick take.
I appreciate you' all the quick take I got. I
think the textans should take a page out of the
(20:15):
Rockets playbook, like I heard y'all saying, like the it's
like a break up, Like once you tell these girlfriends
or once the girlfriend tells you she don't want to
be with you no more. After that he was just
a stalker dude. Uh So, like I'm from San Antonio, man.
We just went through that with the Kauai thing. And
(20:35):
I know basketball and the NFL are different with the
contract and the the the Capit that the Textans would
take on why of Watson trade, But the Spurs messed
around and they didn't give they didn't do like the Rockets.
I gave the Rockets praise because they sent They sent
Harden where he wanted to go, and I thought he
deserved that. I think the players and you guys could
(20:56):
speak on that. I think the players deserve to be
said where they want to go when they're done with
an organization like that, and especially if you're somebody like Harden.
Watson maybe doesn't have as much skins on the wall.
But in Kauai's case, Kauai kait won a championship here,
I'd have sent him to l A. I'd have taken
all the picks and not have been happy with that.
I'd to rebuild um and I think that's what the
(21:17):
Texans should do in this case. Here. Appreciate you like that.
I do, I really do. But in the NFL. It's
where he might want to go. Do they want him?
Why are they willing to give up? What I mean,
it's a it's a lot to go into that. I
just feel like when you are in situations like this,
Spike gets involved, it's not Spike. If Spike didn't get involved,
(21:38):
this makes a ton of That's when that's when you
have to put that to the side and operate quote
unquote as a business. Now. But it's been rumored that
he wants to go to the Dolphins. Wow, they have
a quarterback that Houston. How does that work? They have
the third pick they have he is he? Do? Is he?
(21:59):
But what the Dolphins take tour or what they prefer Watson?
Oh man, that's a tough decision. You're gonna prefer That's
not tough at all. You're gonna prefer watching Hey man,
I'm just saying that. It's going back to what the
caller said. And I'm thinking to myself, if the NFL
had the same policy as the NBA, player could walk
(22:20):
in and actually tell you where he wants to go,
do you know how many they'll probably be like two
or three super teams in the NFL. If I'm a
wide receiver. What do you think I want to go
Aaron Rodgers or or Brady all the best quarterbacks you
want absolutely listen, if if that was possible in the NFL,
(22:44):
then they would be probably what one team that that
would win it all basically every year. So those things
would never happen with the NFL. I tend to agree.
I think the dynamics are are much different because there
are more people. Because we've never seen it. Man, we've
always no guaranteed contracts, but our sport is by far
(23:06):
the dangerous. No lifetime metal co insurance, but our sport
is by far the dangerous. I mean the things that
we've gotten accustomed to that need to change. It's the numbers.
It is the numbers. I mean in basketball, you got
what thirteen guys? You know what I mean, you got
thirteen guys, you got a league team. There's a ton
of separate we're we're we're going off into a different tangent.
(23:29):
But there are where there are a ton of benefits
that players do not use. But they would use that
insurance right away, of course. And so if they do
away with certain benefits that players don't use anyway and
give it you have more money to put out exactly listen,
and I get that, and we for all of those
out there that I didn't know this, t j uh
is one of those player rep due so he's up
(23:50):
on the lingo of it all, and and and the
representation of the player in those in those meetings, you
know what I mean. But you know, another interesting aspect
of this to to discuss is when you do find
yourself guaranteeing a contract is with the numbers as big
as Deshaun Watson's are, you gotta believe that this creates
(24:13):
some some real disruption because you have a what has
perceived a media sweetheart, and Deshaun Watson there there there
is nothing that you could say about him that would
be disparaging and and would lower, lesson diminish the credibility
that he brings to the table. In fact, he is
a very very clean, fine tuned, um intelligent, well represented
(24:38):
young man. And so in these moments, how do you
justify that? How do you say a guy like Deshaun
Watson is in this position. You can't say he's selfish,
you can't say that he's uneducated, you can't say that
he's a problem a cancer. You look yourself in the
mirror and say we like to him. We told to
(25:00):
him we would do one thing, and we did not
do that. If they're being honest with them, that's what
you do. We will keep you on the loop. They
did not do it. They know that people have a
problem with Jack Easterby. Whether that's fair it isn't fair.
They know that players have a problem with it. You
address the situation, especially the face of your franchise and
your best players. You have to do it. Oh but
(25:25):
look this whole thing with DeShawn Watson, man, it seems
seemed like it's just getting worse and worse. And I
don't know what's going to happen. I honestly think that
he's not going to where. I think he's going to
remain in Houston, Texans. But it's just like t J said,
they just gotta walk in the office and be honest
with him and tell them that they lied to him,
(25:47):
and and try to repair the relationship. If you surround
him with players that can help him, you know, win
and and and compete for a Super Bowl, I think
you can you can mend the relationship. But if it
just keeps going that the way it is going and
this whole jack needs to be a situation. Uh, you know,
(26:08):
you're just gonna have a very discrumbled, intelligent franchise quarterback,
which you don't want. And you know what, the city
of Houston loves this young man like like they embrace
him as being the leader in the organization of this
football team, and they should. The organization should follow how
(26:31):
the city embraces him. And and he's not feeling the
love for the organization, but the city loves a young man.
I just find it hard to go back after you said,
you know, this is why I don't fool with you,
and you don't wear what I want you to wear.
You don't come, you know and spend time with me
and watch TV and have coffee with me inside. I
just feel like, once you said it, it's already out there.
(26:52):
But I digress. We're going to continue this conversation going on,
along with another one that I think is going to
be entry thing about with with Urban Meyer and his
deal going to Jacksonville. But first let's bring my man
David gask on and give us some updates. Let us
know it is a playoff Saturday playoffs. It certainly is
fellas Cooper cups gonna be a game time decision. That
(27:15):
kickoff is at four thirty eastern from lambeau Field. Ten
percent chance of snow in that ball game. And in
Buffalo you got wins that could be anywhere from fifteen
and thirty miles per hour. Tonight you got the Bills
and the Baltimore Ravens. That one. Buffalo is a three
point favor in that affair. Marketing Orm not playing tonight.
He's a healthy scratch. Marcus Peters is listed as questionable guys.
(27:37):
Away from all that college basketball today, a handful of games,
number twenty one Ohio State leading number fourteen Illinois on
FS one St. John's buy a basket over Marquette fifty
three to fifty one. How about this from Major League Baseball?
The league is considering again seven inning doubleheaders and also
runners starting at second base and extra innings of this season.
That's according to Bob Nightingale. It is penning a union
(27:59):
of approval. But there'll be conversations as well. But I
designated hit on both sides of the league and l
and Ale side. Guys back to you word, all right,
let's uh, let's take a few more calls before we
we switched gears. Because I find this Urban Meyer conversation
to be a very interesting one. I'm super excited to
(28:21):
hear what you guys have to say about it. But
let's let's uh, let's stay with this this Deshaun Watsondale.
Let's go to Albert and Riverside. What's up? Play boy?
What's up? What did do? Going good and doing good? Hey?
Sints Books? I can talk to Seaun Book? Can we
do Saints Books? Will fast Man? Do you hear what
(28:41):
we're talking about right now? You just want to knock
knock the train off the tracks? Do you know you
just did that on live radio? Player? Do you know
you just got brought in to talk about Deshaun Watson
with three O G s And you said, can I
talk about this game with Tampa and New Orleans? Like
(29:03):
bump what you're talking about? I'm gonna say this on
live on live radio. Can I just get my little
twos in in? Hey? Man, go ahead and say what
you want to say. We get to it. We get
to it. Say what you want to say? Player? All right,
with the go ahead with the sounds of Texas. It's
(29:27):
trying to move on like like the should just trade
him to the Jacksonville Jacksonville gets Trevor Lawrence. Both both
teams got a first start, both players got the first start.
Because did you just say, wait, wait, hold on now,
you just said trade him to Jacksonville. Jacksonville gets Trevor
Lawrence and they all get new stars. What did I
hear you correctly? Like translate that for me? Yeah? Yeah,
(29:53):
Deshaun Watson, you get the fresh start with with with
Jacksonville gets a Remyer. Remer is a good coach. But
how this Trevor Lawrence play into that because he's saying
they can take the first pick for that will never happen.
A team will never trade within this division that type
of player because if one does, one other one doesn't.
(30:15):
They You got to see that team twice a year.
I got a better chat to winning a lottery before
that's happening. Generational, he's he's prospe Then why would why
would Jacksonville that? Why would Jacksonville want to do that?
If they feel that way, and then Houston, you don't
know what you're getting Trevor Lawrence, why would they want
(30:36):
to do that? It just wouldn't happen. Hey, gip we
had to let Albert go. Albert, Albert, next time you
call in, stay on topic. Player. If he has some kids, Albert,
if you have kids, make sure you give your kids
a pass next time when you ask some question, Albert,
(30:56):
just one of those open pack and play hill, no instructure,
just open packet play, no directions needed, Oh, Albert, Albert, Albert.
Let's go to my man Cameron camp in Indiana. What's
your gap? Player? Yeah? So, hey, all I got is
two things for you guys. Hey, I think if you're
(31:18):
the Colts, the matter, if you're in the same division,
you gotta find a way to get watching them. And
then next, I think what people are not thinking about,
regardless of his contract, is how J. J. Watt feels
about this whole situation. You know, that guy wants to
win a Super Bowl. He's got the talent. I'm sure
he can't be happy right now either. Well, he wasn't
(31:41):
happy for you guys. The fans appreciate the call. He
certainly was very focused in on letting y'all know how
bad they stunk and he wasn't happy about it, and
and that his teammates needed to do better, so that
he and the and the fans could win the Super Bowl,
So I get that part of it. You know, I'm
sure J J. Is not happy with um the results
(32:02):
that they've been getting there in Houston, because if they
moved to Shaun Watson, they go first. Much as much
as he would hate to alien nate the fans, talking
j J. Watt, he's gonna one out of there. He's
he's gonna went out of there. So it's like, oh, man,
is he had a place in his career where he
(32:23):
can one out of there? Is better days are behind him?
Somebody would somebody would take him because he's he's still
the starter in the league. Would he be thinking about
the fans or what he went out? I mean, I mean,
I mean, look at it. The guys with the three
time or the year deef as a Player of the Year.
He's getting older. Now you're talking about getting rid of
(32:44):
DeShawn Watson. His Super Bowl hopes just go out the
window and out the door as soon as DeShawn walks
out the front door. So you know, he's gonna try
everything in his power to keep him there. But hey, listen,
if they don't down this young man with talent, it's
gonna be you know, Houston, we have a problem. Houston.
(33:06):
We have a problem Kevin in Houston and Houston. What
do you have? What's up? Fellers? We already, man, you
got a problem. I mean this this is not only
about what's happening right now. Man. They fired the chaplain,
they fired another lady, they fired the chapter. Wait, that's
(33:26):
that Jesus ain't praying right that Jesus message that Jesus. Yes,
I mean beyond that, man, they fired another lady. That's
what that was. They said she wasn't a cultural fit.
That all the players like. Man, you got to go
back to the inmates running a stylom and this is
(33:46):
over time. But if you look at it, man, they
can get rid of him and get get him a
draft because they don't have a draft. Well you said that,
you said that before, but you we we had this conversation.
We appreciate the call. Can is a good call. They
said this before or you said this last weekend about
the history. Uh, And it finally came up in and
(34:07):
from a caller. The inmates running the asylum and if
you understand the terminology, uh, you know you're basically talking
about the crazies running running the mental institution that they're
forgotten from now, not the current owner, but from the
DNA of the current owner. This was said, you don't
(34:30):
let the inmates run the asylum. And obviously this this
appears to be a value and a lesson that is
being applied by the new McNair that's in charge. I'm
in charge. This is not you, and it will be.
(34:51):
It will be very interesting to see how they navigate
through this because we just a young quarterback, one of
the best quarterbacks in the game that once out you
have teams at the top of the draft could possibly
use that. Now you don't have a first round pick
because you traded from laric Tonzil, you can get possibly
to your quarterback of the future in the process if
(35:12):
you draft correctly. So it looks it could be a
win win for both sides. Mhm al right, Well that
that's uh. I'm just I'm curious as to knowing that
so much is at steak, how how this will be handled,
(35:33):
because the implications of this, I believe where we're at
right now stem very much further ahead than just with
Deshaun and how this plays out with him. All Right,
we got some sound from urban Meyer coming up, can
he win in the NFL? And man, will it even matter?
(35:55):
And uh market like Jacksonville. All those things and more.

those syllables together. I just trying to put Like when
I got on Instagram, Plex, I was just trying to

it's crazy. Hey, y'all need to stop that. Man, Stop

and you're trying to use it, I love yourself, Like
Plex said, Man, you know you know what I want
to say? Man say hey, I want to go back
to a couple of weeks ago and Rob Parker had
that intro. Okay, you know what? You know that kind
of bothers me a little bit because his intr row
to him coming on this show was the best intro
(38:03):
that we've had. So we gotta find a way to
fix that. We need to have a intro. Just look
and you know what. Going back to that bet, he
must have knew that James Harden was going to the
net before he brought it. He brought He brought it
up to me. He was to be non toll plexico,
get my off. He even knew that behind the scene
(38:24):
was what they happened. They told you not to mess
with them type of people. Man, you know them reporters
be having that inside dip. Believe that that was the
first thing I thought about. I said, Man, you gotta
be kidding me, speaking of inside dip. Our own Fox
Sports uh Collie background expert Jay Glazer, Um, I got
(38:49):
the message first from him. Now, it might have been
broke by somebody else first, but I heard it from
our own Jay Glazer that one Urban Meyer was going
to be accepting the job in Jack snveal and and
taking that that challenge on. We got a little sound.
Let's listen to that, and let's get into this Urban
Meyer conversation of being in the National Football League. You
(39:11):
have to adapt, and those who adapt have success. Those
who don't fail. I can't wait. That's the part of
the game that I love is to be able to
adapt to the NFL player. And however, between white lines,
I don't see a lot of difference. You know, I've
studied the NFL game now for really years, but really
studied it for the first time in my life for
the last six months. Hm. How y'all feel about that?
(39:34):
I agree with him that the difference is you better
be able to command the locker room. The difference, the
biggest difference is you just can't go recruit the best players.
You have to draft and hope you're drafting the right
player and develop them. And so football is football. If
your guys understand what your opponent is trying to do
and they understand how you are trying to slow that down,
(39:56):
you're always be in the game. But it's more, can
you get in front of the team and those guys
believe in you? And better yet, do they trust you
that you have their best interests at heart? Because if
that's the case, we as players, we don't want to
disappoint you, So we're gonna give you everything that we
have to give. Man Man, I think that Urban mind
(40:17):
coming into the NFL and joined the Jacksonville Jaguas, that
he will have immediate success. I really do it's about
him coming in, like he said, adapting to the NFL.
But I think this team is young enough to know
and understand urban Mars resume and what he was able
(40:39):
to accomplish in college. And this is still freshening these
younger men's mind because because what are the twenty three?
They know what Urban Mind did while he was in college.
I mean, who didn't know Tim Tebow when he was
playing down the down the street in Gamesville. And I
think he's an exceptional quarterback whisperer. You know, the guys
(41:03):
like Alex Smith, the career that the Wayne Hasky had
while he was playing at Ohio State, Tim Tebo I
mentioned him. You're talking about now having an opportunity to
work with a talent like Trevor Lawrence, who all those
three quarterbacks that I just mentioned, has the has the
(41:23):
most upside of far as armed talent and and being
a franchise quarterback. So I think that when he does
walk in that building, these kids are young enough to
understand what uh Urban Mind has accomplished, and they're gonna
buy in and they're gonna respect everything that he has
(41:44):
to teach and and and hopefully you know contend for
Divisional championship or Super Bowl, whatever may be. But Trevor
Lawrence is he's gonna be NFL player. But next season
he would be a senior in college. So it's not like,
you know, he's coming into a veteran football team where
(42:07):
these guys have been playing you know, seven, eight, nine years.
They have a young football team. So I think that's
one of the reasons why I believe that these guys
are going to buy to what he has to say.
All right, so quickly. My my take on it is
I don't necessarily see there being a major issue on
how he's able to do things with the team and
the players. I think that that will ultimately end up
(42:30):
being the easiest part of this job for urban Meyer.
But having spent time with urban Meyer and getting to
know him versus the urban Meyer that I originally had
gotten to know through watching reports and reading articles and
different things like that, you know, where's the where is
the middle line of truth of all of it? Is
(42:51):
he difficult to get along with? Is he? Is he
someone that has to have total and full control over
what's taking place. You can get away with doing those things.
Don't have that if they don't have a general manager yet.
But you can get away with being that type of
guy at the college level. You cannot do it at
the pro level. And more specifically, me and you played
(43:13):
for coach Coughlin. We know how that is and how
that worked in the amount of control that he needed
in order to build the culture that he wanted. One
thing about Urban Meyer, He's gonna want to have control
to build his culture. Can that coexist in the National
Football League? I want to expand on that conversation a
little bit more, but first we're gonna take a quick
(43:35):
break because I ain't now Helen, what hell you know?
I don't even know what I was telling y'all, but
I do know this, y'all are listening to Up on
