Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. What a title? Are
you ready? Darkness? The Prints of Darkness. The Prints of
Darkness is in the house of Jonas Knocks. The story
is Jonas Knocks. Well be God like I said, Judas
Knocks is coming through your speakers like the right cross
(00:23):
from a boxer that you've never heard of. What's going
on here and now live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Here's Jonas Knocks. You're really going through with this, Hunches.
(00:48):
We are starting to get the impression that somebody in
the world of sports actually doesn't want the smoke that
they thought they did, and we will get into that
here coming up in just a couple of moments. From
now Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out
with us as always on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on Sirius x M channel Lady three,
(01:10):
and wherever the hell you are taking part in this program.
As always, we appreciate you making us a part of
your Friday into a Saturday. If you're listening on the
podcast right now, we appreciate that too, and we're going
to take you all the way up until six am
Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific right here on Fox Sports Radio.
But we must start with I'm sure you've probably seen
(01:33):
these online on YouTube. There's these videos where somebody films
an actual, real street fight in public, and you'll see
some of these where one guy really tries to force
the issue and really wants to fight the other guys
a little bit stand office. He's trying to play cool, like, nah,
back off, man, back off. The other guy's the aggressor.
(01:56):
He maybe lays a couple of hands on him, starts
to fight, starts to get things rolling, and then all
of a sudden, he gets cracked, and you just see
the look on his face change because he realized once
he got cracked, you know, maybe I didn't really want
this as much as I thought I did. You know,
(02:17):
I was forcing the issue, I was stirring things up.
I was trying to get this guy going. I didn't
realize he was this much of a problem. You see
it all the time. Maybe this was a bad idea.
And I say all that to say this. The more
we hear from people around Aaron Rodgers, the more it's
(02:38):
starting to feel like maybe Aaron Rodgers got a little aggressive,
got a little aggressive last week, got some stuff out there,
and then all of a sudden, when the Packers started
to bite back and when the public started to bite
back a little bit, maybe Aaron Rodgers said, you know what,
maybe this isn't the issue that I really thought I
(03:00):
at it. Maybe this just isn't exactly what I really
wrong tree to bark up this, This was not in
the ideal situation for me, because think about it. The
most we've heard from Rogers himself was comments that he
made to Mike Tariko at the Kentucky Derby last week,
(03:23):
and they were comments that he didn't want to go
on the air with, but they were comments that he
relayed to Tariko that Tariko could go on the air with.
And it was something along the lines of, yes, it's
true there's a rift of the organization, but I want
to make it clear and let me reiterate, I love
the Packer fan base, I love the city of Green Bay.
(03:43):
I love those fans over and over and over again.
That sounded to me then, just like it sounds to
be now, like a guy who thought he was taking
the right approach, thought he was getting a little bit aggressive.
Maybe it was a little frustrated with the situation. And
now that we've had some time to cool down and
step away. He realizes, you know, maybe this isn't exactly
(04:06):
the ideal situation I wanted. Maybe I didn't really want
this fight after all. Now, I'm not saying he's not
gonna get traded. I'm not saying that he's not unhappy
in Green Bay. I'm not saying that he's not piste
off at the front office or the general manager or
whoever else is there that he's got a grievance against,
Because I do think all of that is true. But
we're hearing a lot from his teammates, and a lot
(04:29):
of it feels like it's starting to you know, maybe
we're just kind of cleaning things up a little bit.
You know, if you knows listen, uh, you know, we
we think this could be resolved knowing air in the
way we do. We think like it just feels like
a guy who wanted the smoke until he got it
and then realized, Man, I don't like this. Look, this
(04:50):
doesn't feel like me. How do I figure out a
way around this. I may still want out of Green Bay,
but how can I figure out a way out of this?
Because it just doesn't feel like the same story we
had a week ago. A week ago, man, you would
have thought the Green Bay Packers there was zero chance
whatsoever Aaron Rodgers was going back to Green Bay. That's
(05:12):
the way this story was painted out. And it took
forty eight hours and an appearance at the Kentucky Derby
for me to go. This guy is not happy with
how this thing is looking. He is not good with
the optics of this. And listen, Packer fans, for the
most part, I wouldn't be surprised if they were piste off.
(05:33):
I don't blame them. Packer fans are looking around going, hey, man,
you're making this out to be like we're the worst
situation and the worst franchise and the worst There's a
lot worse rosters in the NFL, a lot than the
Green Bay Packers. While they didn't surround him with enough,
I hear all this crap from all they didn't, I
don't know, man, Davante Adams is pretty good. Aaron Jones
(05:57):
seems like a pretty serviceable back. David by t R.
He went down with the injury, but he seems like
a pretty damn good offensive lineman. Like they've addressed, Oh,
what's the defense you know he doesn't have a good defense. Okay,
they keep addressing the defense in the draft, and when
they do, people get pissed because it's not a wide receiver.
(06:17):
So what do we do? So I I can totally
understand if Packer fans are upset at Aaron Rodgers, and
maybe Aaron Rodgers is feeling like, hey man, they're starting
to turn on you. This is starting to look like
you're complaining and kind of throwing the organization and everybody
else under the bus, like this is this is what
it's starting to feel like. When I'll bet there's Packer
(06:40):
fans out there that are listening to this right now
on Fox Sports Radio that are thinking of themselves. Yeah, man,
how about his performances in NFC title games. I Mean,
we get there, and we've been there several times two
years in a row, and he comes up short every time.
And it's not just on him, and I'm not trying
to put it all on him, but it's not like
they've been a floundering six and ten team every single
(07:03):
year the past six years. They've been at the doorstep
they just couldn't find their keys to open it. I
just this idea that it's so I believe Packer fans
are a little bit fed up with it. I believe
Packer fans are a little bit worried and bothered by it.
I believe Packer fans are kind of annoyed with the
constant complaining. And I think Aaron Rodgers looks at this
(07:25):
and goes, man, I thought this was the approach that
we were gonna take, and I thought what I was
within my right, and I thought optically this was gonna
be okay and people were gonna understand my frustration. But
upon further review, maybe this isn't the best route to take.
Not saying he's gonna be back, not saying they're not
going to go through the trade, not saying he doesn't
(07:46):
have a right to be unhappy. But I think he's
not happy with how he appears in front of Packer fans,
and I think he's trying to figure out a way
to smooth this over. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio, all Right,
you ever been around a drug addict before? Okay, Like
I mean a full blown drug addict I have right now.
(08:08):
I've never done drugs. I've never I've never smoked weed,
I've never taken a pain pill, I drank, but I've
never smoked a cigarette, never one time in my life.
Not a hit, nothing, never done any of it. No,
d like alcohol is the most ever. I blew my
knee out, refused pain pills, just just it's not my thing.
I'm just not into it. But if you've ever been
(08:29):
around a drug addict, and I have been around drug addicts,
you know long stories that we don't need to get
into all that. But I have grown up and and
and known and been related to people that were full
blown drug addicts. We're talking about heroin overdoses. We're not.
This isn't just you know it took took a puff
of marijuana behind a seven eleven somewhere and started coughing,
(08:51):
and the cops rolled up and gave you a little ticket. No, no, no,
this is like full blown hardcore stuff. I've been around it.
And the one thing you know that every drug addict
does other than drugs is lie. They lie a lot.
Now I am not a big fan of liars, but
(09:11):
I can appreciate the art of the lie right because
for them, they're trying to get a fix and they're
trying to cover their tracks. But for other people, when
they lie. If it's a quality lie, if it's an
entertaining lie, I'm willing to forgive it. I can't stand liars.
They annoy me and just be honest. Uh don't, don't
bs me. But if you're gonna lie, make it elaborate
(09:34):
enough that we can have a little bit of fun
with it. And so I say all of that because
we have got a situation in Major League Baseball where
the New York Mets big time. When all right, the
Mets go out, they win an extra innings, uh, you know,
walk off when everybody's excited in New York. But the
story from the game is the skirmish that may have
(09:59):
taken play between Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil in the dugout.
You saw players run into the dugout. It was reported
that McNeil Lindor had a little bit of a physical altercation,
and so everybody was waiting afterwards to find out what's
going on. Man, why were these teammates fighting in the dugout?
And then all of a sudden, Francisco Lindor came up
(10:21):
with one of the great lies I've ever heard. An
applause to Francisco Lindor, who says this is what the
skirmish was about in the dugout and what happened during
the game. I told him. I was like, hey, I've
never seen a New York rat. So we went down
sprinting I want to go see a New r rat.
And he got mad at me. He's like, no, it's
not a rat. Is a raccoon. I'm like, yeall, no, man,
(10:43):
it's a damn rat. Is a New York rat? Man.
I was just crazy because we were going back up
Ford debating who was a rat with raccoon? Crazy man? Insane?
Who was he? Who are you debating that with? We? Jeff? We? Jeff?
I was like, you got you gotta checked this out.
I was like, this is the u R. I's like, no, man,
I've been here longer than you. I mean, can we
(11:06):
get around of applause from Francisco? That is a lie.
Let me tell you something. As somebody who grew up
around drug addicts and has hurt some doozies before, that
is a lie. Now, just to be clear, I'm not
calling Francisco Lindoor or Jeff McNeil a drug addict. That's
not where I'm going. All I'm saying is the art
of the lie is a lost art to a lot
of people, and that is a phenomenal keep the round
(11:26):
of applause going. Unbelievable. Of all the things you could
come up with as to what the skirmish was about,
the best he could do with time to think about
it was they were arguing over whether or not it
was a New York rat or a raccoon in the dugout,
(11:46):
or a possum or whatever the hell they were coming up.
It might have been one of those uh those giant
rodents from the Princess Bride, you know the ones that
it was like the size of volvos that were swimming
around the marsh. And we're trying to eat eat a
guy in the like, what are we that it forget
about the fight? They are completely forgiven. I don't even
(12:07):
want to know about the fight anymore. I just want
to know what options didn't make the cut when it
came to a believable or plausible lie, Like what we like,
what are we talking about? Like? What what options didn't
make it? Oh? Yeah, you know, there were uh two
homeless guys that were, you know, taking swings and the
inside the batting cages. Now, that would be more believable
(12:31):
because we just saw a homeless guy field punts at
a USC practice not that long ago. That was unreal.
I mean, so what were the other options? Like, what
are we talking about here? Did did somebody uh, you
know what? Was there a flood? Was it? Like? What
didn't make the cut? When Francisco Lindor by the time
the altercation happened to Hey, you're gonna have to talk
(12:53):
to the media, come up with something. He rolled that out.
That is a world class lie. He is totally forgiven.
I don't want to know anything about the fight because
if that's what you're coming up with, you get full credit, creativity,
all of it. Congratulations to Francisco Lindor. If you're gonna lie,
make it an unbelievable lies, so unbelievable that you are
(13:16):
exonerated on the air by a weekend overnight hosted Fox

(14:20):
Francisco Lindor is saying that a skirmish he had with
a teammate and the dugout that there wasn't a skirmish.
They were arguing over whether or not there was a
rat or a possum or raccoon inside the clubhouse. Uh,
and that's why the they were arguing about. It was
not a physical altercation. It sounds like a load of
garbage to me, But again, I've known a lot of
(14:42):
drug addicts. They like to lie a lot. Thus the comparison.
And then we move forward, all right, over to this.
I have always said, if you're a fan, a die
hard fan of a team, if you if you love
your team, if you follow them religiou just lee, enjoy
the winds, all right, and enjoy all of it. Uh
(15:06):
take you know, take it all in, really, soak it
all in, right, enjoy those winning seasons, even if it
doesn't result in a championship. If it results in a championship, man,
that's even better. But if your team is at least
in the conversation, all right, if they're in the conversation
and they're winning games, you got to enjoy the hell
of it out of it because you never know when
(15:27):
they hit a slump. You never know when you lose
all of that, all right. Like I one of the
one of the funniest tweets that I can remember seeing,
And if I remembered who said it, I would give
them credit because I'm not trying. I don't want to.
I don't want to take their material. But but it
was somebody. It was right after the um the Bears
were struggling in a right. I believe that was a
(15:48):
John Fox season. The Chicago Bears were a bad football team,
and uh somebody, a local reporter or writer in Chicago said,
the most important thing to know about this Bear season
is that the Cubs just won the World Series. And
it was spot on because you can focus on the
losing all you want, but man, your team just won
(16:08):
a World Series. So so really appreciate it because it
was it was a cold dose of reality that once
you get out of baseball season, here's your football team
and it's not all that fun. So enjoy it while
you got it. If you're a Bengals fan from back
in the day when Andy Dalton was there and a
lot of people criticize them, go, oh, yeah, they got
to the playoffs a bunch of times, so they didn't
(16:29):
win any games. Yeah, but you know what, man, they
were in the conversation. All right, man, Alex Smith took
the Chiefs to the playoffs, but they didn't really do anything. Yeah,
but you know what, at lash you were in the conversation.
I've always always defended teams like that because it's a
bad break here. But the fact that you're in contention,
that you're in the conversation that you're in the hunt.
I think that means something. So enjoy the wins while
(16:50):
you got them. And if you're a Dodgers or a
Lakers fan right now, I mean, look, I just hope
that you really soaked in what you watched a few
months ago. That's all I'm saying. I just hope that
(17:11):
you that that you let it soak in, that you
let it seep into your veins, that you really appreciated
those moments while you had them, because right now it
is like, uh, two bums vomiting on each other in
the streets of l A. They're both not good at all. Now.
The Dodgers and many people listening on our flagship AM
(17:34):
AM five seventy l A Sports, the Blowtorch, the uh,
the the primary Fox Sports radio affiliate here on FS
are the the home of the l A Dodgers. Many
people listening on on A M five seventy you're looking
at this going, man, it's look, it's still early. It's may.
We understand. We got we got beat a couple of
(17:55):
heartbreaking losses. We got swept by the Chicago Cubs, and
then we come all the way back at home after
getting bad news about Dustin May, and we lose to
the l a Angels, And but you know what, at
least it's May. You've got some time, You've got a
bunch of young talent, and you feel like, okay, not ideal,
not the greatest thing in the world, but we're confident
(18:17):
we can figure this thing out once we get to
the postseason. If you're the Lakers, you have none of that.
None of that exists. I don't want to hear a
damn thing because all I've heard is no big deal
once they get to the postseason. All right. Listen, I
was once Lebron comes back, everything's gonna be fine. All right,
Well he came back, he cut a fart, and now
(18:39):
he's out for a couple of games. So I mean, what,
like what you could say whatever you want. It's it
looks like a broken down team that's exhausted, fatigued, and
not nearly as good or beneficial from the surroundings as
they were last year. All right. Anthony Davis comes back
(18:59):
after leaves a game on Thursday night against the Clippers.
He rolls his ankle but hurts his back. I don't
get it, But but again, what the hell do I know.
I mean, we can put that in freak injury category
A if we want to, and kind of break that
down later. On the point being, you're watching all of
this happen, and I just hope it's a reminder to
(19:22):
other fan bases out there. If your team's playing well,
if they're doing well, if if things are going well,
soak it all in, because it can all be gone
in a heartbeat. Going back to the Chicago Cubs, this
is one of my favorite stories from that team. I
think this is one of the most my favorite story
(19:44):
from that team. In fact, this is the most favorite.
Forget about the win, forget about Game seven, forget about
all that stuff, uh for like, like, leave all of
that behind. Here's the best story from that and the
most real story from that team. After they won the
World Series, fans, we're surrounding Wrigley Field and we're writing
(20:09):
in chock on the side of Wrigley Field tributes to
their fallen family members and thanking the Cubs for letting
them finally get to experience winning a World Series through
their hearts and their memories, and then even some of
them talking about how my grandfather lived just long enough
(20:29):
to see you win a World Series, and so yet
all these heartfelt tributes in chalk right outside Wrigley Field.
They were beautiful. They were all over the place. People
just came in droves to let them know how important
this moment was, how important the World Series was to them,
their family, their legacy, and how they can pass it
(20:51):
down from generation to generation, all the heartbreak they went through,
and how big and huge and important this moment was
for their only people writing and chuck beautiful messages, tears
in their eyes. And a week later, somebody takes a
video of a cleaner hosing down the side of Rigley Field. Ah,
(21:17):
somebody from the city takes out a hose. Nice tribute
to granddads. You gotta enjoy it. Why you can? You
know what you wrote it, But everything's in shock. If
you're a Laker or a Dodger fan. Last year was
in chock. I hope you enjoyed it because as of
(21:37):
right now, father father times hosing it down for the Lakers,
and bad luck and injury issues are hosing it down
for the Dodgers. So I just hope you enjoyed it
while you had it. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. I
do want to welcome to the crew. Uh, they're gonna
be writing Shotgun with me until six am Eastern time.
Here on FS are ladies and gentlemen speaking of Los Angeles.
(21:59):
He's the voice of l A Sports Radio. This is
a man that deserves respect and if he doesn't get it,
he's gonna rip it from your damn hands. And his
name is Kevin Fish, the King of cholden Freud. There
Jonas knocks. It's just like, look, hey, ke if you're
an Angels fan, correct, all right, don't you wish you
(22:23):
would have appreciated two thousand three or two thousand two,
whenever it was a little bit more. Don't you wish
you would have like actually said, you know what, man,
I should I should have really enjoyed that more while
I had it, trust me, I did so. And as
an angel fan. Not to get too much off the
rails here, but they were a terrible franchise leading up
to that point. It was just the flukiest, luckiest sort
(22:43):
of year to even get him to that point in
time to get to the postseason as a wild car
win the World Series. And they had some good years
after that with Sosha and I've been and they were
good enough here and there, but really haven't come close
to duplicating that. So as bad as they were growing
up as a kid, trust me, I soaked in every
single second of it, and every single time it was like, Oh,
they beat the Eggers in a wild car round, I'll
(23:03):
take it. Oh they beat the Twins in the Alcs cool,
I'll take it. They got to the World Series, that's fun.
But they won the World Series. I'm done. You can
take me now. So it's a little bit different if
you're a you know, a marquee franchise like the Dodgers
who have had a history of winning, or like the
Lakers that have a history of winning. So I do
think it's a little bit more palatable or easier to
say for a fan base who doesn't expect to get there,
(23:25):
likely not going to get back there anytime soon. Yeah,
it's I just you talk. And plus the fact that
I'm back to back nights. You had the Lakers losing
to the Clippers and they were banged up. No nobody
thought they were gonna win that game. The Lakers lose
to the Clippers, and then you got the Angels blowing
out the Dodgers. Like it's just like it's it's like
little brother beat you up two nights in a row
(23:46):
while mom and dad are gone. It's like, what the
hell's happening here? I mean like I I've whipped his
ask for twenty years and now he's whopping my ass?
What's going on here? And to your point, you almost
expected with the Lakers, they're not at full strength. Even
some other ancillary players like you're Alex Caruso types and
all that, they aren't even fully healthy. The guys that
are running out there are hurt. But the Dodgers, I mean,
outside of a couple of pictures maybe here and there,
(24:06):
I mean to get destroyed by the Angels tonight. You know,
the Angels are not you know, this is not you know,
the Smoltzen and those guys from the Brace pitching staff
that they're going up against right now. The Angels have
the worst, one of the worst pitching staffs in the
American League. By the way, do you think you could
name all five starters from back in the day, like
if we did, if we just did it together, just
on the spot, Smoltz, Glavin, Maddox, Steve Avery and who
(24:32):
is the other one? Was Hampton there or had you
not arrived yet. No, I don't think he was there.
It was it Kent Murker. Maybe it was Murker. It
might have been Kent Murker, whatever the case may be,
all time pitching staff. But no, that is not the
pitching staff of the the l a Angels. Vanna, you're
getting roughed up by Griffin Canning. I mean, what are
we doing? It sounds like a brewery might as might
(24:53):
as well be great. It's great, ladies and gentlemen. Uh
and listen, I'm not Look, I've thought about this. I
thought about giving a bow on opportunity here. You know,
there's a there's a place in um In Lake called
tent City. You've heard of this, right, all right, it's
tent city where there's a bunch of tents because that's
where the you know, the homeless people live at least yeah,
(25:16):
some of them. Uh, there's live right outside the studio.
So they called they called tent City. I thought we
might have come up with something called vent City where
we could let Bow Bentzon vent about all the shots
being taken at the Lakers and the Dodgers on social media.
Our our executive producer here, Bow Benson. You never know
what the sick bess is gonna do? Now? Listen, like, well,
I'm thinking of you, man, I'm trying to give you
(25:37):
an opportunity to tear some people down here. No, you can.
I think. I think at this point you can pretty
safely bury the Lakers. Um. But like you said, it's
it's May, um and the Dodgers are going to be
fine eventually. It just when it rains at Poores. Man,
if if Mookie Bets and Corey Seeger could start hitting
the ball, maybe that would be a good place to start.
(25:59):
I sort of, God, I wonder if Mookie Betts is healthy. No,
I I think with Cody Bellinger being hurt so early
in the season, I'm pretty sure that Mookie is banged
up pretty badly and could probably be uh on the
I L But they really have no choice, especially now
that A. J. Polock just strained his hamstring. Like kind
of just have to uh grin and Barrett at this point. Yeah,
(26:21):
it's but you know what, man, as long as you
as long as you took full advantage of the wind
last year and the fact you got two in the
same year, that's awesome. Yeah. I don't don't care at
all for the next probably five or six years. You're good. Yeah,
it's like it's like doing a shot and just letting
it sit, letting it marinate inside your blood, and you
feel buzz for the next next several several hours. Absolutely, correct,
(26:42):
ladies and gentlemen. He is Chris Perfett, our technical producer
here at Fox Sports Radio. Those won toys. So what's this?
What are these good moments you're taught as a Detroit
sports fan? What are these good moments you're talking about? So?
What is what is that? Alright? So here's so here's
the thing. Now you've been Alliance fan, so we'll walk
you through this. So let's taken very slowly, used small words.
(27:04):
Only two dollar words here, Please, I have a I
have a very bad brain. All right. So here's what
happens when when you have a team, and we'll just
use football for tap, Like when you have a football
team that's good or competitive, or doesn't draft a wide
receiver multiple years in a row, or doesn't chase chase
off the best players in the history of the franchise. Yeah,
(27:26):
but and you know when you have one of those teams,
like what ends up happening is that you play a
bunch of games in a season, and when the final
more more than sixteen yeah, well no, I mean sometimes,
but what ends up happening is that when the score,
when it hits zero on the clock, your team is
is ahead on points over the other team. And sometimes
that happens in January, and sometimes it even happens in February. Now,
(27:50):
I figured that you would know that because you remember
that from when Erik Kramer and company took him and
I was five years old. I was five years old.
Just but but thank you. That analysis was very that
was very analysis. And I think you have a chance
to replace John Madden in the halls of color commentators
in football with the analysis of scoring more points to
(28:12):
win games. It should put you on the cover of
We should put your name on the cover of all
those football games and Jonas knocks and in all fairness,
all right, I I defend the Lions because I feel
like they're an easy team to pick on the fact
that the and I don't know if we talked about
it last week, that the Cincinnati Bengals being the Cincinnati
Bengals allowed the Detroit Lions to end up with Pina
(28:36):
sull I just think it is a wonderful story like that.
I think that's gonna be one that you look back
on and go, what the hell with it? Bengals thinks, Listen,
I need another wide receiver. I have already hit up
our friend Andy and Cincinnati. Uh what what? What's the
word we even want to use? Some Cincinnati douche bag,
I go. I was gonna go with Leech but works there?
(28:56):
Yea that I Andy Furman, who we have all worked
with in love. I have already asked him to please
for the address of Joe Burrow and the general manager
of the Bengals so I can send them a fruit basket.
It's just it's so good, like he like he's he
needs to stop, Like he has to stop. He needs
to stop sending people mail. It's it's creeping people out.
Especially with COVID there's probably people that are still, you know,
(29:18):
spray their envelopes down with windex before they bring it
in the house. Like he's just gotta cut it out,
He's gotta cut the crap. But he won't because he's
got a fetish. And just like just like Grex Ryan
wouldn't stop smelling feet because he had a fetish, and
like how the Bengals of a fetish to take a
wide receiver over someone who started it. I didn't realize
it's about pas Well. He started at Oregon at the
age of seventeen. He was a teenager. He was a
(29:38):
teenager starting at left tackle for Oregon. Yeah, freak show.
He's gonna end up getting his if he if he
plays like they expect him to play, he's gonna end
up getting his second contract, his big contract, when he's
like twenty three years old. He won't be able to
even rent a car at them. Now. No, it's yeah,
it's it's amazing. But you know, the Bengals loss is
(29:59):
the Lions game. Jonas knocks here Fox Sports Traders. So again,
the whole CreI is gonna be here until six am
Eastern time here on fs ARE we will be getting
into um listen. So I don't think somebody is really
being all that truthful in the world of sports. We'll
have that for you next, for all the latest from
around the world of sports. A band that never lies, ever, ever, ever,
it's Kevin Figgures. Oh the Dodges are really good. I
(30:20):
just lied. Uh, we'll get to them in a second.
But we had another no hitter uh in Major League
Baseball on Friday night, Way Miley the fourth pitcher to
throw no hitter so far this season. Now, if you
want to count Madison Bumgarners seven, any no hitter baseball
won't count it. But we all saw what it happened.
It was a full game, wasn't it. Either way, it
will be five total no nos so far this season
(30:41):
if you were to count mad Bums. Earlier this year,
Cincinnati did be Cleveland three to nothing. I talked about
the Angels hammering the Dodgers nine to two, taking Game
one of that Freeway Series. Dodgers are scuffling right now,
falling down the standings in the n L West, which
is being led by the surprising San Francisco Giants. They
got a home run from Bustter Posey, they'd be the
Padres five to four. San Francisco with a two and
(31:02):
a game lead over San Diego. In the nl West,
Oakland starter seamanea pitch day no hitter into the eighth inning,
couldn't hold on, but the A's did beat Tampa Bay
two to one. You have the Cardinals and Astros with
victories as well. In the NBA Portlands, getting thirty eight
points from Dave me and Lillard in a one oh
six to one oh one win over the Lakers. The
loss dropping l A to the seventh seed in the
(31:22):
Western Conference and currently in the play in Tournament. Suns
outscored the next thirty eight to seventeen and the fourth
quarter to na one oh five victory, Jazz outlasting the
Denver Nuggets. Wins for Dallas, Milwaukee and Miami. Back to
Jonas Knox. Thanks Cap, Jonas Knox. Here on Fox Sports Radio,
you can listen to the show is always on the
I Heart Radio app. All right, coming up next, We're
(31:44):
going to have another edition of do you Care? Um
something is something seems a little off to me. I
don't know how truthful this statement is or this strategy
is from somebody in the world of sports, but we
will have all of that for you next here on
Fox Sports Radio, Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. You can
listen to the show on the I Heart Radio app.
(32:04):
As always coming up, we will get to it top
of next hour. Um there is Look, I'm not trying
to accuse anybody of having an ulterior motive on something,
but I feel like somebody is looking out for their
best interests. We will have that for year. It is
is somebody in the world of sports surrounding a major
(32:26):
story that'll be coming up in about fifteen minutes from
now on Fox Sports Radio, so we will will be
getting to that. By the way, sometimes people will tweet
because people listen to the show at different times and
they're either listening live, or they're listening on delay, or
they're listening on podcast, whatever the case may be. And
sometimes I'll get a tweet and I have to really
(32:48):
think about what the hell they're talking about, because it's
a four hour show. We're talking about a lot of stuff.
It's not I'm not reading off a teleprompter. I don't
I don't do scripts. Um. I kind of have a
general idea where we go, but it's it. I don't
want to plan the entire show out before because if
something takes off, you know, we gotta be able to adjust.
And I don't have O C D like that. So
I will will put stuff together, and then once you
(33:11):
do a show, you kind of lose and and forget
about some of the conversations you have, and so sometimes
people will send tweets over and I don't know what
you're referring to. And it took me a minute to
figure out what this guy was saying. This guy Jamie
on Twitter just wrote to me Millwood and I'm looking
(33:35):
and going, what are you talking about? Like what mill
But well, I don't understand. What do you talk Millwood?
What is that a coffee? Like? I don't And then
it dawned on me, Oh yeah, we were trying to
figure out who the fifth Braves picture was, and so
he put out Millwood because we thought it might have
been ket Murker. So then I was able to put
two and two together. But that was another example of
(33:58):
you you talk so much, you know, there's a lot
going on, it's live radio, and then somebody reminds you
of something and you gotta think twice about what the
hell they're referring to. So maybe it was Millwood, But
we were trying to figure out Kevin figures and I
the fifth picture of the starting five of the Atlanta Braves,
and we weren't going to cheat and go on Google.
So maybe it was Millwood, maybe it was Kent Mrker.
(34:19):
I have no idea at this point. Millwood came in
a little bit later. If I remember, I don't think
he was even there. For like the earlier nineties, the
one that actually won the World Series, I don't think
he was even on that team. I don't either, so
maybe it wasn't Millwood. But who knows. Maybe the we
will get the the answer to that at some point
without cheating and going on Google, maybe that will happened.
All right, Right now, it is time for something we
do on the show called this. There's so many stories
(34:42):
in the world of sports, and most of them are
a complete waste of time m reports. Let's get kinky.
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care? And
for that we turn it over to our executive producer
Bo Benson to find out what the hell people have
talking about? Bow all right, Jonas, So the Lions made
(35:03):
center Frank rag now the highest paid center in the
NFL with a new deal earlier this week. Do you care?
I absolutely, of course, Listen. I have a soft spot
in my heart for offensive lineman um I two brothers
played uh college football and they were both centers. So
the center position has always been my favorite position in football.
(35:24):
I think it's underrated. I don't think he gets enough attention. Uh.
And it's one of those things to where you gotta
ask somebody who plays offensive line or plays against these guys, hey,
who's legit? Who are the who are the legit guys?
Because there's not really a way outside of pro football
focus for you to be able to grade and judge
because there's no stats associated to an offensive lineman for
(35:46):
the most part. So to see a guy like that
get paid and get rewarded, good for him. I think
it's a great story. Next, the Green Bay Packers are
reportedly exploring quarterbacks they can add to their roster for
upcoming O T A S in training camp. Do you care? Yeah,
only because it seems like a bunch of crap. It
feels like there's this back and forth game being played
(36:07):
between the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is taking
his foot off the gas a little bit, but the
Green Bay Packers feel like they've still they're still going
full throttle and uh and it seems like they're throwing
little stories out there like, oh, we'll just find a
you know, quarterback for O. T A S. You know,
we need another quarterback on the roster because they know
the media is gonna salivate over it and turn it
(36:27):
into a big deal. Next. The Angels released First Basement
in d H. Albert Pools on Thursday, in the final
year of his tenure deal. Do you care? Yeah? I do.
And then I see a lot of people bashing Albert
Pool's worst contract in the history of sports. Blah blah blah. Okay,
why is that his fault? Like if it was like
(36:48):
and let's let's also say this, it's not like he
just did nothing when he got there. It's not like
they paid him in for ten years. He just wasn't
available and uh, you know, just was awful. And it
was still hitting and runs. I think the average like
home runs a year. Not not the greatest performance in
the world. But it's not like he's a guy who
was just cashing shacks, playing four games this season and
(37:11):
just so sort of milking it and soaking in the
the the final years of his MLB career. He's one
of the great players, uh that that we've gotten to
see over the past several seasons. I don't know if
he plays again. I hope he does. But this idea
that they're just gonna slander him on the way out
the door seems a little bit odd. Next, alright, Kamara
(37:32):
Usman is not opposed to a boxing match for his
next fight against YouTuber and a parent fighter, Jake Paul.
Do you care? No, I don't, And listen, everybody knows.
I look, I love boxing, I love the UFC UM.
Everybody knows that. I just I keep hearing about all
these different guys that are out there that are going
to potentially fight one of the Paul brothers and all
(37:53):
the people that are open to it, and it just
feels like nothing gets done. And it's just I'm dizzy
at this point with the Paul brothers and and who
they're trying to pick a fight with, and it's hard
for me to keep track as to what what stick
and what's not stick. I can't figure it out. Next,
the Capital's Range. The Capitals and Rangers combined for seven
to seventy penalty minutes in the first four minutes of
(38:14):
their game on Wednesday night, following the controversial actions of
the Capitals Tom Wilson earlier in the week. Do you care,
I do? Listen, this was so awesome and for the
people out there that are like, oh my god, it's
a terrible look for hockey. This is what Hawckey is
trying to get rid of. It's like, you know, a
pizza company saying, hey man, we're really trying to you know,
(38:36):
a dial it down on the marinaro sauce, Like what
like this is like, come on, man, this is a
part of hockey. This is what you do. Like you
fight and if you could start a game out and
there's three brawls going on at one time, tell me,
has hockey gotten this much coverage? Bo, you said to
me during the break, Yeah, I actually watched this. Can
(38:57):
you never watch hockey? When's the last time you watched
the full hockey game? Full hockey game? Uh, you're gonna
go back to probably twenty When did the When did
the Kings win their second Stanley Cups? I think was
the last full hockey game? Yes, so seven years, So
it took you seven years to watch hockey again. And
it was this fight job well done by the NHL.
(39:17):
Next alright, and then on Friday, Resident Evil eight Village
was released and uh, some people not gonna name names,
they may have even bought Yeah, they may have even
bought headphones to uh enhanced the experience. So Jonas do
you care headphones? Yeah, I mean some people not again,
(39:37):
not not sure who may have done that, But now now,
is it anybody on this show that might have done that?
It could be well, okay, what is their name? Rhyme
with on this show, somebody that paid ninety nine dollars
for a pair of headphones to to watch a resident
evil five. Well, an orthodonist once called them be when
(39:58):
they called him in the office. So, okay, you're ashamed,
aren't you? No, not at all. Okay, you shouldn't be.
You're you're talking to somebody who's who been on a
horse race in Japan a few months ago. So it
feels like we got ourselves an ulterior motive for somebody
(40:20):
in and around the NFL, and we will get to
that here coming up in just a couple of moments
from now, Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on Sirius x M channel Lady three,
and wherever you are listening to this program. We appreciate
you doing so, having some fun here hanging out on
(40:40):
a busy, busy weekend in the world of sports, and
we appreciate you making us a part of your weekend here.
Uh and if you are just tuning into the program,
Major League Baseball Hijack. The first hour of the program,
we all of a sudden got off on on a
topic about who the fifth starter us for the Braves
(41:00):
pitching staff back in the nineties. He got Francisco Lindor
and Jeff McNeil fighting in the dugout, but then telling
people they weren't actually in a fist fight. They were
arguing over whether or not it was a sewer rat
or a raccoon in the clubhouse. All sorts of craziness,
weird stuff happening in Major League Baseball. But I find
(41:22):
this to be a little bit strange. Right now. Aaron
Rodgers is the story in the NFL. He's the big story.
He's the story everybody has been tracking. I said it earlier.
He feels like he is starting to at least soften
his stance a little bit. And I don't think that
means that he's going to come back to the Green
Bay Packers. But I do think Aaron Rodgers looks at this,
(41:47):
sees how this is playing out, sees that maybe Packer
fans are bothered by the way that he is sort
of painting the organization or the front office or whatever.
And that's why he tried to make it clear with
Mike Tarico at the CONTI Uckey Derby, I love the
Packer fans, I love the fan base, love Green Bay.
This is all about an issue I've got with the
(42:07):
front office. So I do think Aaron Rodgers is looking
at this, and he's looking at the optics, and he
doesn't like how this is playing out. He probably doesn't
like how it makes him feel. And he sees this
and says, let me tighten this up. So you've got
some former teammates, you got friends of his that are
making the rounds with the media. They're talking about it,
trying to We've heard stuff from he's absolutely out and
(42:29):
now everything is changed, and all of a sudden, we're
hearing people say, well, you know, I mean, uh, you know,
he's a little bit conflicted, and you know, it seems
like there could be uh you know, they could make
peace and it's not impossible for him to go back.
So we've seen this whole thing. Try to try to
calm down a little bit. There's been a cooling off
(42:49):
approach and strategy from the Aaron Rodgers side of it all.
So all of that is playing out here, but it
goes back to how did this initially get out? How
did this story initially get out? And the story initially
got out? Because last Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN took
(43:10):
to social media and he talked about Aaron Rodgers displeasure
with the organization. And there were some people Joe Horne,
whose son was drafted in the first round, he was
one of them who came out and said that he
was a little bit bothered by by what had happened
in the Aaron Rodgers news breaking because he felt like,
(43:31):
all of a sudden, that news became more important than
some of the uh than some of the other things
that had gone on in the draft, like all these guys,
you know, reaching their dreams and accomplishing all of this stuff.
J C. Horne is a top ten pick in the NFL,
but we're focusing more time on Aaron Rodgers. And so
that also rubbed some people the wrong way. Why would
(43:54):
he wait until draft day to make this known and
to get this story you out there? And I think
part of that bothered Aaron Rodgers. I think Aaron Rodgers
is bothered by how this looks. So Adam Schefter of
ESPN goes on the Dan Patrick Show this week I
heard on many of these Fox Sports radio affiliates, and
(44:14):
he tries to clear things up and fall on the sword.
For Aaron Rodgers. This was an accumulation all during the
off season of just listening to people talk and observing.
And if we go back to the NFC Championship game
and it sounds almost like he's saying goodbye to Green
Bay and so you're antenna is up, and I'm just
(44:36):
telling you. Throughout the course the season, there was rarely
a week that went by where I didn't hear something
about Aaron Rodgers. And on Draft Day there's a report
that morning from Paul Allen out in Minneapolis that the
Forts made a draft offer, which they didn't make an offer.
They never made an offer. And the other people saying
that the fort is called. And I said, how long
until it gets out that Aaron Rodgers wants Is it
(44:59):
next week? Is it next when he doesn't show to
the o t S Is it next month when he
isn't it's going to come out. What does it matter
if it comes out now or next week or next month,
and so so you chose to break the news on
draft day that is actually that is absolutely accurate, correct.
But it wasn't something that you got information about. No, no,
(45:22):
there was nothing that morning that came in said to me, yeah,
he wants out, you should report this Like it was
going on all off season. There was more and more
talk and now the story to Deanna Rodgers talking, I said,
you know what, this isn't gonna wait much longer. Let's
just go. And it just happened to be drafted. Yeah. Um. Now,
I don't know if Francisco Lindor talked to Adam Schefter
(45:46):
or if he talked to Francisco Lindor whatever, and they
got together and said, hey, so what what an amazing
tail are you going to come up with over the
next several days? And h Francisco Lindor said, all right, well,
I'm gonna say that. Uh me and Jeff McNeil, we
were not fighting in the clubhouse. We were arguing over
whether or not there was a rat or a raccoon.
(46:07):
Uh And Adam Schefter said, okay, good, because then I'm
all I'm gonna come out and say that Aaron Rodgers
wasn't behind any of this story. I chose on my
own to release this story on Draft day. Aaron Rodgers
had nothing to do with it. I mean, come on, man,
come on, come on. That doesn't seem a little bit suspect.
(46:29):
There seems like there's a lot of explanation there. I mean,
you've got all these other insiders who who also were
talking about the same thing. Uh, Jay Glazer was on
Fox Sports Radio's Draft show with Bucky Brooks and Labar
Arrington and Kevin Burkhard and they were on the air
talking about it that same night. Ian Rappaport had stuff
(46:51):
on it that same night. Yet all these insiders, all
of these experts, all of these guys that are totally credible,
that go in and around the same time to release
this information and get it out there, and then we're
supposed to believe that Aaron had nothing to do with it.
It was just by coincidence they happen to drop it
on Draft night. Come on, like, let's like it. Just
(47:15):
here's what I think is happening. Adam Schefter is taking
a hit for Aaron Rodgers. That's what I think. I think. Again,
Rogers doesn't like how this felt or how this looked.
He doesn't like the idea that he would take the
shine away from these players on draft day, because Rogers
knows what that's like to have the shine be taken
(47:38):
away from you. On draft day, he he thought he
I could potentially be the number one pick, and then
all of a sudden he's waiting around in the green
room and he falls all the way to the twenties.
He knows what that's like to to to think draft
day is going to be about you, and then all
of a sudden, the story turns into something else and
it's a little bit more negative. I think Rogers is
sensitive to that issue and the fact that this story
(47:59):
got out on draft Day. I don't think it's just
coincidence that Adam Schefter just said, hey, you know, we'll
just drop it. I don't think it's how that's how
it works. I think this got out as soon as
it became made available to people in the media like
Adam Schefter. That's what I think. And I think there's
probably some regret on how this worked and how this
(48:20):
played out, and so Aaron Rodgers maybe reached out and
Adam Schefter said, you know what, I'll fall on the
sword for you. I'll take the hit. I'll be the
bug on the windshield, and I'll make it seem like
it was me that was insensitive to come out with
this report on draft day. Okay, but what about all
the other insiders who also had similar stories that came out,
whether it's Pella Sero or rap Report or Glazer? Like,
(48:42):
what about all these other guys that are credible, that
are great at their jobs, who also had stuff the
same exact day. What are we talking about here? I
I'll say this, I'll call my shot right now. When
a decision is made on Aaron Rodgers future and Green Bay?
What do you want to bet Adam Schefter is going
(49:03):
to be the guy who has at first, I'll say
that right now, I will call my shot. What do
you want to bet Adam Schefter is the guy who's
got the breaking story on Aaron Rodgers either leaving the
Green Bay Packers, or Aaron Rodgers signing an extension with
the Green Bay Packers, or Aaron Rodgers deciding f this.
I want to go host Jeopardy UH in in my
(49:23):
off days, I'm gonna film and tape episodes of UH
Supermarket Sweep. I'll bet you money it's Adam Schefter who
comes out with this first. It just doesn't it doesn't
add up to me, And again goes to my point
that is, as this has gone on, I've gone from man,
Rogers is getting aggressive because he's piste off to yeah,
(49:46):
Rogers got aggressive, got piste off, and now he's starting
to backtrack a little and starting to feel a little
guilty about how it looks, so he's trying to cover
his tracks. That's why you've got all these former teammates
coming out, That's why you got Adam Schefter coming out
and say, no, just it just happened to be on
draft day I release the story. Come on, man, I
look Francisco Lindor credit for the creativity of the lie.
(50:11):
Adam Schefter. This seems a little bit hard to believe.
I just it doesn't make any sense to me. It
doesn't add up to me. But you know what, it's
part of the game. You gotta play the game sometimes,
and and the end of this whole thing, maybe Adam
Schefter gets rewarded with a breaking story on Aaron Rodgers
future in Green Bay. I would almost be willing to
(50:31):
bet anything that that's exactly how this plays out. Jonas

(51:13):
Unfortunately it's not gonna happen. I'll tell you who that
is next year. Nfs are the most popular sports talk
radio hosts on the Island of Guam is Jonas Knox
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in a little
over ten minutes from now here on fs are we
(51:36):
are going to have another edition of Guests that Garbage.
If you've never heard the game before, do not go anywhere.
It is the number one rated NFL trivia segment anywhere
on sports Radio. Eight seven seven nine on Fox is
the phone number eight seven seven six six three six nine.
(51:59):
Guests that are bage coming up in a little over
ten minutes from now. It is not hard. If you've
been paying close enough attention to the NFL over the
past several days, you should not have an issue with this.
But generally speaking, you guys are terrible at it, so
we will give you an opportunity. Uh, anybody can be
involved eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven six three six nine, if you've got the balls
(52:23):
and you want to be a star and showcase your
NFL knowledge on national radio. Guests at garbage is yours
coming up the bottom of the hour. Um, So there's
a lot of conversations about which one of the drafted
quarterbacks is going to get on the field first. Now
we know what's happening at the top of the draft.
Trevor Lawrence he's playing right away. We know Zach Wilson
(52:46):
he's playing right away. It's just happened, alright. We we
know we know this. Uh, we know exactly how this
is gonna go, barring injury. That's how this is gonna work.
And then you get to the other quarterbacks taken in
the first round of the draft. Ray Lance, I don't
see it happening. I actually think the forty Niners are
in a good spot. Tray Lance can wait buying Jimmy Garoppolo.
(53:09):
If Garoppolo is healthy, he's proven he can be a
quality NFL quarterback and a good NFL quarterback. You can
say whatever you want about him. Uh, you could say
whatever you want about They won uh you know, uh
elsewhere not because of him. He wasn't the main reason.
He was more of a game manager. That's fine. All
I know is that when he was in a Super Bowl,
he was out playing Patrick Mahomes from majority of that
(53:31):
Super Bowl. Focus on the fourth quarter all you want,
I look at the entire game, and Jimmy Garoppolo is
a better quarterback on the field that day for majority
of that game. Unfortunately, bad situation towards the end, missed
the throw, defense couldn't stop Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill
on a on a third ninety or whatever it was.
(53:51):
And next thing, you know, now, the narrative of the
conversation on Jimmy Garoppolo changes, you know, it just it
that's the way this works. So Trey Lance, it feels
like he's gonna wait a little bit. Mac Jones definitely
gonna wait a little bit. In fact, I think the
odds are of all the quarterbacks in the first round,
mac Jones is the biggest long shot to be the
starter Week one. I just I don't think it's happening.
(54:13):
I think Belichick's got the job security, he's got the patience,
and I think he's also got the brain to know
I'm not gonna put this guy out there if I
don't think he's ready to go right away. You start
with Cam Newton, and maybe Cam Newton plays the entire season,
plays well, and then you decide to move on if
he's looking for a big contract afterwards. The interesting one
(54:33):
is justin fields, because we can we can argue back
and forth about how good Andy Dalton is or isn't right.
We can have that argument. By the way, Nick Foles
is still in the roster, so so there's that story
that's looming. Who knows what ends up happening that. But
we can argue about Andy Dalton's effectiveness. But Andy Dalton's
(54:56):
had a good NFL career, Yes, and Andy Dalton I
think can and is capable of playing at a high level.
But he's also capable of having a couple of stinkers,
and we've seen that before. We saw a couple of
times with the Cowboys last year. But Andy Dalton can
win you some games, he can make some plays. He's
played at a high level and played really good football
(55:18):
at times during his NFL career. But there is going
to be a push for Justin Fields. He's the shiny toy.
He's the you know, uh, you want you want to,
you want to take it out right away? You don't
want to. It's like somebody that's picking at the food
before it's totally ready to go, you know, like they're like, listen,
(55:39):
it's not quite ready, but maybe it's ready enough, and
they just keep picking at it and picking at it,
and the next thing you know, a giant chunk has
taken out of it doesn't cook right, like Justin Fields is.
There's going to be a push for him to be
the starting quarterback now. Matt Naggy, the head coach of
the Chicago Bears, was on The Herd with Colin Cowherd
this week and he talked about the decision to win,
(56:02):
they'll put Justin Fields in a position to be the
starting quarterback in Chicago. The worst thing we can do
is put him in when he's not ready and and
ruin him and and and which ruins the Bears. And
so we want to make sure that we do this, um,
so that he has a very successful entry into this league.
He plays with confidence, he's a winner, which he's always been,
(56:23):
and then ultimately in the end, he's the best thing
for the Chicago Bears playing as simple. Yeah, that's code
for if we're struggling, and um, Andy Dalton's playing okay
but not great, and we have an opportunity to put
in Justin Fields, and I have an opportunity to save
my job, We'll go ahead and put Justin Fields in.
(56:43):
That's what that is. Like, it's there's this this call,
as much as you wanted to be Matt Naggy's call
and his decision that he's going to determine whether or
not Justin Fields gets in and when the right time
is Justin Fields, uh, the right it's the right time
for Justin Fields to get in. And like he can
say all of that all he wants and and he's
(57:05):
going to be making the decision. It's going to be
the noise outside that's going to make the decision. Bear
fans are going to be salivating at the idea of
Justin Fields getting on the field, like they're gonna they
want nothing more than this, because this is the first
time they've gotten their team to draft a guy who's
(57:26):
got the potential to be a generational talent. You've drafted
quarterbacks before. You drafted at Cade McNown, you drafted Jim McMahon,
you drafted Rex Grossman, you drafted Mitch Drabinsky, like they've
drafted quarterbacks before, but none of them came in with
this much potential, with this high of a ceiling. You
(57:48):
traded for a quarterback with a high ceiling and Jay Cutler, uh,
for my money, the best quarterback in the history of
the franchise. But it didn't work out the way that
a lot of people thought it was gonna work out.
Justin Fields is yours, he's all yours. Your team drafted him,
and he's got a higher ceiling than any quarterback that
you've probably ever had in the history of the organization
(58:10):
or the franchise. And as I pointed out last week,
you've got these dueling reputations going on, and they're not
good reputations. Where you've got the Ohio State quarterback in
the NFL reputation, then you've got the Bears quarterback reputation,
and they're all combining and they're joining forces to try
and break this drought of success at that position for
(58:31):
either Ohio State of the Bears at the next level.
But the Bear fans are gonna be pushing for it.
You know, Teammates are gonna see these two guys on
the practice field and they're gonna see him next to
each other and go, oh, well, yeah, one like that
guy is on another level than that guy. And that
is a real thing. I remember having a conversation with
(58:54):
with Brady Quinn about this, and this is like this
first round draft pick, like like like in the n
D nine percent dial of players uh played high level
at Notre Dame Heisman Trophy finalist. You know, a stud
quarterback in high school gets to the NFL. You can
say whatever you want, injuries, whatever, but you made it
to the NFL and you played for seven years at
(59:16):
the quarterback position. You're in the dial of every human
being walk in the face of the earth. And I
remember having this conversation with Brady and he said the
first time he saw Cam Newton on the practice field,
he wasn't playing because he was down with an injury.
And he walks out onto the field pregame and he
sees Cam Newton spinning the ball around and he just
(59:36):
looked and said, well, I can't do any of that.
It's just it's just obvious. You see the guy and
you go, oh my god, that's just like in comparison
to somebody like that's I remember seeing Todd Gurley being
in a game, a South Carolina Georgia game years ago,
and Todd Gurley was a running back at Georgia. Todd
Gurley ripped off a run. I remember being at the
(59:58):
game at Williams Bryce in South Carolin Line in Colombia.
Todd Gurley ripped off a run and he looked like
he was playing with children. It's just obvious when you
see somebody that's just more physically gifted, more talented than
who they're out there with, and and every all those
players know it, and anybody watching knows it. And you're
(01:00:20):
gonna see justin fields next to Andy Dalton and go man.
Andy Dalton's at a successful NFL career as a quarterback,
and he didn't look anything like this guy. So I
think fans are gonna push for it. I think players
are gonna are gonna be thinking of themselves and be
whispering to themselves and having conversations. They're gonna push for it.
You know, the media is gonna push for it, of course,
(01:00:40):
because that's what the media does, especially in Chicago. You
know that's happening. And also the general manager and the
head coach are gonna push for it because their jobs
are on the line if they go out and they
struggled this season, Matt Naggie's gone. Ryan Pace is most
likely gone that unro manager. So of course this whole
(01:01:03):
clock is gonna get sped up, so you can you
can give the well the the ideal plan is, we're
gonna treat this like how it was when Matt Naggy
was in Kansas City in ten. You know, they had
Patrick Mahomes, but they also had Alex Smith, and Alex
Smith played almost the entire season. Mahomes got got some
playing time in week seventeen, but that was after we
(01:01:25):
already wrapped up the playoffs and all that. So yeah,
we wanted to play out exactly like that. You can
want that all you want, but there's a big difference.
A you're not the Chiefs and be you're not Andy Reid.
His job wasn't on the line. There was no clock
ticking that we need to see something or else. Everybody's
gone and we're cleaning house. So it's a great thought,
(01:01:49):
it's what probably should happen. But I think this whole
thing is gonna get sped up. I don't think Justin
Field starts the season as the quarterback of the Chicago Bears,
but I think he's gonna be in there so it
or rather than later, because that might be the only option.

Here on Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to the
show is always on the I Heart Radio app eight
seven seven nine on Fox the phone number eight seven
seven six three six nine. If you want to be
a part of the number one NFL trivia show in
sports radio, guests at Garbage is coming up here just
(01:04:20):
one moment from now. We do want to let you
know coming up in fifteen minutes from now here on
Fox Sports Radio. Cause for concern for a team many
people expected to be hoisting a trophy cause for concern.
We'll have that for you here fifteen minutes from now.
Right now, though, it is time for something we do
on the show called this. Oh my god, what the
(01:04:42):
hell is that smell? These two teams flat out stink.
It always stinks. Stinks. He welcome to the part of baby,
how did that that? Garbage? You bet your ask guess
at garbage? Every single week we play this game at
this time on this show. And here's our works. I've
(01:05:03):
got some questions here. They are all NFL questions. They
are all questions relating to things that have happened in
the NFL, stories that have come out in the league
over the last several days. If you follow the NFL,
if you know your NFL, this shouldn't be too difficult.
But the but the catches, you guys are always bad
(01:05:23):
at this For the most part, There's been a couple
of times you've done well. So we're gonna go ahead
and we're gonna give it another crack again here on FSR.
If you are at home, you can play the at
home version of this. If you don't have the guts
to Cotland and be a star, on national radio. But
we do go first to Wittier, California, where Nick is
listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Nick, what's happening? Hey?
(01:05:46):
Janis has it going? Not? Be happy Saturday? Uh? Sam
to you? Nick? What do you got going on? What's
happening in witty Are on a Saturday? Excuse me? Friday
into a Saturday? Rather just finished up having a barbecue
and just listening to the show tune and in nice man,
But we we appreciate you doing so. Hope all this
safe at the barbecue. You get everything cleaned up. You guys, didn't,
(01:06:10):
you know, like us, start any fires or anything like that.
Didn't cause any problems on you No fires with the
trigger grill Jonas, all right, very good? All right, that
works all right? So here's my here's my question for you.
So obviously Aaron Rodgers, that's been the talk of the NFL.
What's going to happen with Aaron Rodgers? My question for
you is this, of the following quarterbacks, who has the
(01:06:32):
most career interceptions? Is it Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, or
Jamis Winston. I'm gonna go Jamis Winston. That is incorrect.
Aaron Rodgers is the correct answer. As a matter of fact, Yes,
(01:06:53):
Aaron Rodgers one more career interception than Jamis Winston and
more than Kirk Cousins. So there's that. Now, obviously he's
played in the league a lot longer than those guys.
But nonetheless, who cares about the details. I'm just putting
together questions and trying to stump people and it worked.
One question ed. So there's that. Let's go to uh Manuel,
(01:07:14):
he is a first time long time in southern California. Manuel,
what's happening? Welcome to Fox Sports Radio. I'm glad you're
program what well, what's going on? It? All right? Well here,
well Manuel, hold on, let's let's get things straight here.
All right? Uh Iowa. Sam is not on this show
(01:07:37):
because he's too good for weekend overnights and he's he's
probably drunk. All right, So there's that. You've got Chris
Perffett and you got Bo Benson who are running this program. Yeah, yeah,
what about Chris Perffett. Do you want to give a
shout out to Chris Parffett. He's working on the show there, Chris,
(01:07:59):
not to be confused. Sorry, all right, So Chris Brucette
is born now that is the Uh. If somebody out
there can make a burner account, a Chris Perfette burner
account called Chris Brusette, we would appreciate it. That would
be if you could get that done a SAP, we'd
appreciate that. Man, Well, you want to pay your respects
to the voice of l A Sports radio, Kevin Figures,
(01:08:21):
Please I will, then we'll. I haven't spoken to you
in about eight hours, brother, I hope you don't. It's unbelievable. Man,
well you want to play this game or one? Do
you know what? You know? I love you and can't
(01:08:41):
stop big time Oh who Fred Rogan? Yeah, of course
big times me to trust me? Yeah, I can't. I
can't get the guy to return a call, to return attacks.
It's unbelievable. Yeah, I wanted to wish him a happy right, Well,
look at me, he's got you got bigger priorities. I
(01:09:01):
guess Jonas Fred may Or may not have left man
Weell on hold for two and a half hours on
Friday afternoon. I did not know that he was still
may not. You know it was me. I did not
know he was still on hold on hold right now? Man? Well, man, well,
(01:09:22):
you want to. We're not gonna keep you on hold,
but do you want to play this this game? You
want to answer a question? All right? Here we go. Alright, well,
let's see this is a difficult one. All right. So
here's what. It's a multiple choice questions. I want you
to listen to all the options before you take your guess.
All right, So here it goes. Aaron Rodgers started his
(01:09:44):
college career at a junior college. Now I'm gonna give
you a list of names. You tell me which one
of these it is. Listen to all the options before
you guess. Was it Benson State, Perfect Junior College, k
FIG Tech, Beaute College or cow Uh? It's gotta be
(01:10:08):
t Are you going with she is k fake Tech?
Are you going with k fake Tech? No? No, no?
What was that other one? Beaute College or cow? Uh?
He's my Beaute Jonahs, that is correct. That is correct,
(01:10:29):
butte College is correct and Manuel and Guardina is on
the board where they correct answer k FIG Tech still
working to get recredited by the way. I mean, look, look,
Benson State and Perfect Junior College sound let's sound like
a completely legitimate uh you know, as we uh as
we ramble away, here on Fox Sports Radio. All right,
(01:10:49):
let's let's keep it going. Michael is in Oregon listening
here on fs are Michael, what's happening hey, Jonas Hughes
jan Uh happy mother to Day? Yeah? Say do you
want and yours? Now you're having a couple of cocktails.
You get an early start to things and what's going
on there? Michael already had the cocktail. But I'm seving
on a two different beers exact same time, one I
(01:11:11):
P A and one Corona. Why, Um, I don't know.
I speed to the process a little bit. Alright. That's good. Listen.
I had never thought about doing that. But that's that.
That that works, that's good. I didn't you know. I
didn't know you needed a Corona chaser for the I
p A. But that's all right. All right. So here's
my question for you, Michael. Um Frank rag Now he
(01:11:34):
is the center for the Lions, all right, he just
got a big contract extension. My question for you is
this which sec school was rag Now drafted out of.
I'm gonna go with Georgia. Good guess that is incorrect. Arkansas, Yes, Arkansas,
(01:11:58):
the Arkansas Ray your backs would be the correct answer
for Frank rag now now a very wealthy man at
the center position for the Detroit Lions. Let's keep things
going here. It is guests at Garbage on Fox Sports Radio.
We've got Mason who is in the Bay Area listening
here on Fox Sports Radio. Mason, what's happening? What's the Jonah?
(01:12:19):
You tell me, man, what are you doing? I'm just
here at work up at the test Look Factory. You
know what I'm saying. Build, No, get the night nice?
Now what is it? What is the shift like? Are
you you got like eight hours ten hours when you
get off. I'll get off the one and it's eight
hours thirty okay, yeah, Monday through Friday at free mode.
(01:12:42):
All right, well listen, good for you man. So you're
you're gonna get off and enjoy your weekend and have
a good time. And now I have a true or
false question for you. If you're ready to play, go,
let's go. Here we go, So here we go. Najy Harris. Alright,
So nagys drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. My
question for you is this true or false? Najy Harris
(01:13:04):
was the only running back drafted in the first round
last Thursday, hey, before I answered, Naji Harris is from
my hometown Annie R. California, went to my home high school,
and I interviewed him and Jim Harbaugh. I got the
opportunity to but nice, I'm gonna go with through. I'm
gonna go with through. Oh that's a yeah, that's incorrect, Fike, Yeah,
(01:13:26):
that is incorrect. It's a great backstory. We appreciate you listening.
We appreciate the love. You're working your ass off. I
respect it. We love you guys work at the graveyard
in the late night hours here. But that is incorrect,
that will be false false. Uh. The other running back
taking was Travis A. T N. He was actually taking
one pick after Najy Harris. So two running backs go.
(01:13:48):
But again, please call Mason in the Bay Area, working
his ass off, working hard. Call again. We appreciate the
effort here on fs are. Finally we go to Washington
where Joey is listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Joe,
what's happening? Not a lot on that late night Tad
be drying. How are you guys doing, joan it? We're
(01:14:08):
good man. So how's how are our taxes? Taxis are
starting to fill up a little bit. Now are you
driving or are you currently a passenger? I'm driving right
now and get nobody are you guys? Are you starting
to get a little busier with the with the summer
months coming, or what's going on? Yeah? Man, I'm starting
to get it's pretty busy having on the go all
(01:14:29):
day to day. So nice, good for you, Yeah, it's
good le be distracted from my football world going on
fire from a backers day. Well, listen, there's a lot
of a lot of stuff. You know. We will get
that sort of out. We've got other theories. We're gonna
break it down more later in the show, but we
have to get to this question here. Um. Now, you
saw that Jason mccordy he signed with the Miami Dolphins.
(01:14:53):
The defensive back Jason mccordy, he signed with the Dolphins.
And my question for uses this should be pretty easy.
Which team him did Jason mccordy win a Super Bowl with? Uh? Oh, man,
let's the show with the Buccaneers. You're gonna go Buccaneers? Yeah,
(01:15:16):
that is incorrect, will be the New England Patriots would
be the correct answer. Jason mccordy winning a Super Bowl
a couple of years ago, in New England, and with
that a one and four performance on this week's edition
of Guests that Car. We'll play again next week. I
told you guys, I don't know why you've really struggled lately.
(01:15:38):
Maybe I'm making the questions too hard, but we will
have another addition of that coming up next week on
Fox Sports Radio, Jonas knocks with you here on fs
ARE all right, coming up next, there is a real problem.
There's a team with a lot of expectations and they
have got a problem. We will get to that next
year on Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio.
(01:16:00):
Coming up in we will call it a little over
ten minutes from now here on fs ARE, there's a
an NFL team that's very, very upset with somebody in
their division. It is a major few that is brewing
and it could change the course of history. We will
get to that here ten minutes from now on Fox
Sports Radio, we are going to get to a one team.
(01:16:23):
I was in a really, really rough spot. But first
I just want to point this out. Chris Perfett. You
are technical producer here at Fox Sports Radios and and
you um put together the Bumper music and for those
of you that aren't familiar with radio Lingo. Bumper music
is the music you play in and out of breaks.
(01:16:43):
Um you choose all of that here during the course
of the show. Yes, okay, Gentleman writes in on Twitter, Jonas,
I'm a big fan and love the show and the crew,
but your bumper music is crap. To night. That five
Finger Death Punch cover of Bad Company is horrible. I'm
(01:17:05):
a graveyard security guard in Sacramento and I always look
forward to the grab bassing at eleven pm on Fridays. Wow.
Shots fired from Sacramento and the security guard who was
very upset at your bumper music, Chris Profett. I don't
know if you want to respond. I don't know how
you want to do I do do you? I want
(01:17:26):
to ask him. There is a guy on Twitter named
Drill who makes a lot of funny tweets, and there
is a very famous tweet of him that says, keep
keep shouting shut the hell up at me. It only
makes my opinions worse. The more you complain about my
bumper music, the worst I'm going to make it. That's
by design. Well, but hold on and like I will
keep playing five finger Death Punch all night. I know,
(01:17:48):
I don't think. I don't think that. Listen. I just look,
you don't have to be a fan of the bumper music.
I just don't think he needs to, uh to take
you out completely like that. I thought it was a
bit of a out of line, and you know, I
wanted to bring it up to you, but I wanted
to bring it up to you privately so that everybody
listening didn't hear the conversation. So that's why, I mean
(01:18:09):
understandable that he's mad at five thing or death Punch
and he if he had a problem with with what
was that black? Uh? What was the last one I played? Black?
Rebel Motorcycle Michael Motorcycle Club. Excuse me, I can talk,
then we would have had a problem. Yeah. Well, I
mean listen, this is again. I'm don't kill the messenger.
I'm just reading reading this stuff up because people are
showing their complaints. So this it's you know, it's like
(01:18:30):
a Yelp review. You know, some people go on Yelp
and complain. You gotta see some of them. You gotta
look at and guard. Well, maybe we need to change
the things again. I'm not saying we need to I'm
just simply pointing this stuff out. That's all I'm trying
to do here. I'd also like to point out this,
It is very possible, and I hope people can can
wrap their minds around this. It is very possible that
(01:18:51):
last year for the Lakers, the bubble was the exception
and not the rule. And if you see how this
season is going, it's starting to look more and more
like that's the case. Like you got your one last year,
and you got it in large part because of like
you had a Sky staying healthy, you had Lebron playing
(01:19:13):
really really good basketball. You went to the bubble, a
lot of crazy flukey stuff was going on, and uh
and you ended up winning. You didn't have to run
into the Clippers because they fell apart. You just like,
there is a real possibility that last year was the
exception and not the rule for this team, and that
that's going to be the only championship that you see
(01:19:34):
hoisted in l A with Lebron James a Laker. I mean,
he's already pointing out his injury issues. You know about
Anthony Davis's injury issues. It just feels like you're at
a point now to where you got to acknowledge the
future isn't as bright as you thought it was coming
into the season. Jonas Knox here Fox Sports Radio. For

Our three of the program and a feud brewing in
the NFL next year on fs are We've got ourselves
a feud that could be brewing. Somebody is piste off
(01:20:19):
in the NFL, and we will tell you who that
is coming up here in just a couple of moments
from now, Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio app.
You can find us on Sirius x M channel eighty three,
and wherever you are taking part in this program right
now on hundreds of these Fox Sports Radio affiliates. We
(01:20:42):
appreciate you doing so, making us a part of your weekend.
Here as we take you all the way up until
six am Eastern time, three o'clock Pacific right here on
Fox Sports Radio, we are going to get to a
feud uh in the NFL. Here, but I just in
case you missed the news, uh New York Mets. They
(01:21:03):
And I know you're thinking, man, I didn't tune in
too here about baseball. No, no, trust me. This is
not just about baseball. This is about an elaborate lie
in the world of baseball. Because Francisco Lindor and Jeff
McNeil reportedly got into a skirmish in the dugout, a
little bit of a bally who back and forth and
Donnie Brooke whatever you wanna call it, you know, pushing
(01:21:25):
and shoving. They got into a little bit of a
physical altercation in the dugout. Nobody could confirm that the
altercation actually happened, but you saw other teammates run down
the into the clubhouse because they saw something was going on,
and it was Lindor and Jeff McNeil. Now, Francisco Lindor
(01:21:46):
was asked about it after the game. By the way,
the Mets one, congratulations to the New York Mets. I
believe they are just above five. Francisco Lindor was asked
about it after the game, and here was the elaborate
lie he came up with as to why he and
Jeff McNeil were going at it in the clubhouse. I
told him. I was like, hey, I've never seen a
(01:22:06):
New Yar rat, so we wouldn't down sprinting. I want
to go see a New R rat. And he got
mad at me. He's like, no, it's not a rat,
it's a raccoon. And I'm like, yeah, no, man, it's
a damn rat. It's a New York rat. Man. I
was just crazy because we're going back up forth debating
who was a rat with raccoon? Crazy man? Insane? Who
is he? Who are you debating that with? We? Jeff? We?
(01:22:29):
Jeff I was like, bro, you gotta you gotta check
this out. I was like, this is a new r R.
It's like, no, man, I've been here longer than you. Yeah,
that's that's a lie. That's what that is. In case
people were wondering, so what what what is that? Why
would you describe that? I would describe that as a lie.
Now I'm good with it. I said this earlier. If
if it's an elaborate enough lie, that that that you
(01:22:52):
It's like these catfish stories, I mean like like some
of these stories are so elaborate. You just I mean
you have to tip your cap and and give them respects, like,
hey man, the fact that you went all the way
through with it, I mean, good for you. Like I
think there was just another catfish story where some like
Lakers podcaster was like cat fishing someone and then they
think it was like some dude who was doing the
(01:23:14):
podcast with her, and it was like, it's like if
you can come up with like one of the great
cat fish stories was I k and and Polly At
that name sounds familiar, I k and Paully was a
former New York Jets linebacker. He was the guy who
punched Geno Smith and broke his job because they were
arguing over a plane ticket money that Geno Smith apparently
(01:23:36):
owed I can and Polly did. He ever, never paid
him back, and so he ended up breaking Geno Smith's jaw.
And the reason why, uh, that ties into this cat
fish stories because I can and Paully was actually cat fished.
He and the way the story goes that I can
(01:23:57):
and Paully was was online having uh discussions we'll call
it with with a woman he was going to be
meeting up with, and when he finally uh made arrangements
to meet up with this woman. He goes over to
her house and he thinks something's very strange because this
woman that he thought what he was meeting up with,
(01:24:17):
she has a bed sheet on her head. You know,
It's like when when you were a kid, and he
ran out of costume ideas, you just put a bed
sheet on. He wanted a ghost, and this woman had
this bed sheet on, and I can't and PAULI could
couldn't figure out why she wouldn't remove the bed sheet
to show her face because they've been having conversations online
(01:24:38):
for so long, and so I can't and PAULI just
couldn't figure it out. And then all of a sudden,
the woman's cell phone lit up underneath the bed sheet
and he could see that the woman had a beard.
That's a true story. How to present true story? It's
in a police report. And so I came and polly
(01:25:01):
punched this woman that turned into a dude underneath the
bed sheet that he had gotten catfished on. Now, it's
a terrible thing to do, but if you go to
those lengths to tell a tale like that, good for you. Man.
And Francisco Lindor, I'm not gonna hold this against you.
If you go to those lengths to tell a tale
like that, good for you, dude, Like that is like,
(01:25:24):
all right, man, you guys didn't get in a fight.
You argued over what's a sewer rat and what's not
a sewer rat? Okay, all right, Now I've seen New
York rats. I've also seen raccoons. Not exactly the same thing,
but again, do what you gotta do. Jonas knocks here
Fox Sports Radio, your cat fishing story aficionado, in case
(01:25:46):
you couldn't tell. All right, let's get to this situation
in the world of sports. It is an NFL story. Now.
I have always been fascinated by the idea of one
small decision changing the course of history when it comes
to other things. All right, So example, if you met someone, uh,
(01:26:12):
your better half, best friend, whatever. If you go back
to the day that you met them, that person who
was really important in your life, if you had done
one thing differently that day, you may have never met
that person. But if you did one thing different, just
one small thing, you went right instead of left. Uh,
you decided to uh, you know, not go to the
(01:26:34):
store that day. You just we're gonna pick something up
later on. You decided like one small detail. If you
didn't forget your wallet at home and you have to
turn back around to go get it, Uh, you know
you you would have missed at the timeline. So like
one small detail can change the course of history. And
I've always been fascinated by it. I love hearing those
(01:26:56):
stories about man, I wouldn't have been there had this
not happened. Now, I wouldn't have met someone, so had
this not happened, I've always been fascinated by it. I
think it's interesting because I think we are always on
the verge of a completely different outcome, a completely different outcome,
and we never know when one decision could lead to
(01:27:16):
a bunch of other ones, both good and bad. And
so I bring that up because the Philadelphia Eagles traded
with the Dallas Cowboys last week in order to draft
DeVonta Smith, the stud out of Alabama, the Heisman Trophy winner,
and according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, the Giants were piste.
(01:27:40):
The New York Giants were furious, and the reason they
were pissed is because they wanted Davonta Smith bad and
the Giants were sitting at the eleventh pick. So the
Eagles traded up one spot ahead of the Giants to
grab DeVonta Smith there in the division. And you look
at that and you go, oh my god, Well, now
they're gonna have to see each other in the division
(01:28:01):
for the next ten years or twelve years, whatever the
case may be. Uh and and yeah, all of that
could happen. But what I think is interesting is how
it happened. What's the root of all of it? And
I think if we look back at this, the root
of this entire situation could be Aaron Rodgers. And I
(01:28:25):
think this situation in Green Bay with Rogers and the
Packers could change the course of history for several teams
in and around that spot the draft. Here's why I
say it. So the Cowboys traded out of number ten.
The reason that that they were willing to trade with
Philadelphia for the tenth pick in the first round of
(01:28:48):
the draft is because the Broncos drafted Patrick Certan right before.
So then the Eagles moved up to ten and they
took Davanta Smith. Because the Giants were planning on taking Smith,
he was now gone. So they traded back and it
was the Bears who traded with them, and they landed
(01:29:11):
justin fields and it goes back to the original move
that set all of this in motion. Why did the
Broncos take Patrick Sertan Because I believe the Denver Broncos
thought they were making a pick that would eventually turn
(01:29:33):
into a piece that would in return get them Aaron Rodgers.
That's what I believe. Now, whether it happens, it still
could happen. But it hasn't happened yet. So if it
does end up happening, and it's a real possibility, Patrick
Certan could have been a pick made by the Broncos,
(01:29:54):
but a pick made for the green Bay Packers because
the Packers, look, Denver had no real need for cornerback.
It wasn't like they needed to take a cornerback there.
So why did they do it? Well, you know, best
player available? Okay maybe, but what if it was just
simply because they realized, if we want to get a
(01:30:14):
deal done with green Bay, we're gonna need to provide
them with something. And maybe green Bay was high enough
on Patrick certain that they said, look, this is the
guy we really like. If he's there, maybe we'll have
a conversation down the road about something. Maybe that's a
potential fit. Maybe we can make that work. So the
(01:30:34):
Broncos took Patrick Certain, and now history could have changed
for all these other moves, because think about every other move.
If the expectation was we're gonna take this guy because
we're gonna try and land Aaron Rodgers, then think about
the trickle down effect that took place because of all that. Well,
(01:30:55):
the Dallas Cowboys Thoughts Curtain was going to be there.
Nobody expected Denver to take a to take Patrick Certain.
In fact, there's a lot of people who thought Denver
was gonna take Justin Fields. But Denver didn't take Justin
Fields because they're trying to work on an Aaron Rodgers trade.
So the Giants or are sitting there waiting for DeVonta
(01:31:20):
Smith to fall on their lap. They know the Cowboys
aren't gonna take him because the Cowboys are loaded at
wide receiver. They're not gonna gonna go with DeVonta Smith.
And so once they're Tans off the board, Dallas is
looking around, going all right, well, we thought we were
gonna get him or J. C. Horne neither available, So
now what do we do trade back and get a
couple more picks? And who called Philadelphia so now you've
(01:31:42):
got this DeVante Smith situation in the NFC East. It's
Dallas trading back because the Broncos were working on an
Aaron Rodgers deal and therefore they took a player that
Dallas expected to be there, so they had to move back.
And because of that one decision by Denver to take
Patrick Sutan, you've now got the DeVonta Smith issue in
(01:32:06):
the NFC East. You've got that little feud working, which
is why the Giants are still pissed. And it forced
the Giants to trade back with the Bears, who may
have finally found their franchise quarterback in Justin Fields, who
would have never been there if a Denver wasn't working
on an Aaron Rodgers trade, because maybe Denver takes Justin
Fields and b Denver ended up taking a guy who
(01:32:30):
was expected to be sitting there for the taken for
the Dallas Cowboys. So it's one of these situations where
every single move could change the way we look at
not only the NFC East picture if DeVonta Smith ends
up being a stud, but also the Chicago Bears situation
(01:32:50):
at quarterback, because if Justin Fields ends up being a stud,
it was all because of this one move, because of
Aaron Rodgers, because of the possible ality of landing Aaron Rodgers,
it could have changed the course of history for every
other team. And this has happening in drafts before. I've
always talked about the two thousand and sixteen draft, like
(01:33:11):
the Dallas Cowboys, their franchise was completely bailed out because
of the ten draft because Dallas was sitting there trying
to take a quarterback. They wanted a quarterback in that
draft because they knew Tony Romo was banged up, and
(01:33:31):
they wanted to take Carson Wentz, but they couldn't because
Philadelphia moved up all the way to number two and
they were gonna take Carson Wentz. So Dallas had to
settle for Zeke Elliott. And then when they wanted to
take Paxston Lynch, they got jumped by Denver who ended
up taking past Paxton Lynch. And then when they wanted
to take Connor Cook, they ended up getting jumped by
(01:33:53):
Reggie Mackenzie and the Raiders who ended up taking Connor Cook.
So Dallas is looking around trying to find a quarterback,
and they settle on Dak Prescott. And wouldn't you know it.
They ended up with the best quarterback of that draft class.
But none of that happens if there was one move,
one move had gone different. The history of the Dallas
Cowboys is we know it is told completely different. And
(01:34:15):
I just think it's fascinating and I can't wait to
see how this plays out because of the one move,
with the expectation that Denver might end up getting Aaron Rodgers.

conversation about throwbacks here, Um, look, I'm not I hope
people understand I am not trying to stir the pot, right.
I am simply reading what is being sent to me
(01:36:21):
via Twitter, and you can find me on Twitter at
the Jonas Knocks. Um, look, I had a guy uh
tweet Floyd Mayweather and asking Floyd Mayweather could knock me out?
Uh not not if he could, of course he could,
but if he will knock me out. So that has
already happened, so I'm getting it as well too. We
got people asking about where the whereabouts of Cowboy and
(01:36:41):
windsor I have no idea, I don't I you know,
Cowboy calls when he wants to call. And then we've
got um. You got this following a complaint about the
bumper music earlier, Pam writes in and says, ask your
person whoever is responsible for your bumper music to play
(01:37:02):
some country music. The crap he's putting out is garbage.
So again, Chris Perfett, I hope you understand I am
simply reading these because because I think that you're being
misrepresented as as not putting together quality bumper music here
on the show like you normally did. I am. I
am sympathetic to that. However, I hope our listeners understand
(01:37:24):
that every time I receive a complaint about the music,
it simply emboldens me to find worse music. Yeah. Well,
I mean, let's just just to not not too Now
that they've riled up at me. It's just that I
feel that when you complain to to the cook sometimes
sometimes that cook is just gonna hawklelogie and whatever comes next. Well,
here's here's the problem I have with Pam's tweet. She says,
(01:37:47):
whoever is responsible for your bumper music, play some country
music the crap he's putting out his garbage. I wasn't
going to touch that, Like you went right there, I'll
touch it. Country music sucks, all right, I'll touch it
right if if if nobody wants to touch it, I'll
touch it. I'll be, I'll be. I'll go. You guys,
all right, take that. That'll be on the Fox Sports
(01:38:10):
Radio network forever. I'll touch it. We'll be turned into
a some inu Windo for the rest of the time.
I love some Willie Nelson, I love some Johnny Cash,
But like, outside of that, I the whole thing is waste. Look,
it's like the stuff you're playing is crab. What do
you what do you suggest? How about country? It's like, yeah,
(01:38:30):
I know, And it's like, god, man, that you've got
nothing to eat in your fridge? Right, what do you
feel like? I don't know? How about a bucket? Of
dog vomit. It's like, what like, what like give me,
give me, give me an option, like give me something
like a better recommendation. But again, I think it's unfair
to attack Chris Perfett like this. Uh and and and
by the way, his name is Chris Uh. He's very
(01:38:51):
good at his job. He is a person stopped to
stop referring to him as the guy. It's Chris Perfett.
He's got a Twitter at out. You can find him
on Twitter. You can you can get a hold of
him on Twitter. It's at Dan Campbell is where you
can find Chris Proffett and he will be there to
bite kneecaps if you attack him over his bumper music.
(01:39:12):
Just saying Chris Perfett on Twitter, let's go, Let's go
live to are I am very bothered by the attack
you just gave country music insider bow Benson for the latest.
But I I actually do want to say I I
am genuinely concerned about our good friend Cowboy and Windsor,
and I hope he calls back in soon because I
miss h I miss those crazy dates that he can
(01:39:33):
pull from the back of his memory. It looks there's
a lot of possibilities with that. Yeah, so so many
that I don't even know if it's appropriate to discuss
what could be happening, you know what I mean, Like
it's just yeah, look, but hey, cowboy, you were loved
here at Fox Sports Radio, and we hope we hear
from you soon. I echo Bo sent him in here. Uh,
(01:39:54):
I really do. Pro wrestler porn Star coming up five
minutes from now eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven see six nine. All right, let's talk about vintage. Um,
I am on this and I may have mentioned this before,
maybe not on this show, but maybe in some other shows.
I'm on this vintage kick and I don't know why
to where. I guess maybe it's the technology and how
(01:40:17):
things are also digital and electronic and uh, you know,
a voice activated and apps and you know, you don't
even insert your card anymore. You just wave it in
front of a wand and they get your credit card info.
And it's just like all these all these things that
are awesome that are speeding up the process, but it
does take away from the art of having to work
(01:40:41):
for it. Like I've actually legitimately thought about getting a
flip phone again, just because I missed the I don't
know why. I'm just on this vintage kick. I've thought
about getting a rotary phone because I just like, man,
you know, like back in the day, you have to
really work for it, and I just feel like you
don't have to work for things anymore. Like I've bought
this little mini fridge, not that long ago, um, and
(01:41:04):
it was just this vintage frigid air mini fridge, and
I all I do is put my beer in it.
Like there's nothing in it, hardly, but it's just I
put beer in it. But I just liked it. It
was cheap, and I just looked at it. I said, man,
that's vintage. That reminds me of back in the day
you would see these commercials of you know, a guy
Mona's lawn and then going to the fridge and pulling
(01:41:25):
on an mg D a Miller Genuine Draft or uh,
like just a throwback beer one of the old Budweiser
cans where you pull the tab off the top, and
it just it just felt that felt like vintage, like
you like you saw it on the set of Edward
Scissor Hands, where they were like in the sixties or
seventies and all these weird like that's so I've really
become fond of that. And Fox Sports One did this
(01:41:51):
Vintage week where they were having guests on Fox Sports
one or the host on Fox Sports One rather where
these vintage jerseys and these outfits, and they did a
lot of throwback stuff. And one of the things that
they did, speaking of pro wrestling on SmackDown on Friday Night,
is they aired old school commercials and Kevin figures. I
(01:42:15):
don't know if you remember these like I remember these,
but one of the commercials that they ran during SmackDown
on Friday Night is a vintage commercial was the old
WWF ice cream bars. Oh yeah, okay, you remember those, okay,
And you could get him in the and the ice
(01:42:35):
cream man would come around. And by the way, for
people that aren' familiar with the ice cream man, back
before the world was shut down because of this Boogeyman flew,
there was a guy who rolled around in a truck
and he sold ice cream out of the truck and
you would exchange cash hand to hand and you didn't
even feel like you needed sanitizer afterwards. You just paid
him and then you hit your ice cream right afterwards.
There were ice cream trucks. The ice cream Man, that
(01:42:57):
was a real thing. I also hope those make a
come back. In fact, maybe I'll do that, you know,
when I'm not working in Fox Sports Radio, I'll be
the ice cream Man. But nonetheless, um, they were showing
these WWF ice cream bars. I used to eat the
hell out of those when I was a kid, if
we could ever like that was the go to when
you ordered from the ice cream truck. You got those,
(01:43:19):
or you got them what was the other the rocket
pops because they were always the cheap one, the red,
white and blue rocket pops? Remember those? You were at
the yellow or like the flint push ups? You know
I was remember the fake candy cigarettes bub cigarettes, Yeah,
(01:43:41):
they're fake candies. Cigarettes doctrinate the kids. They have the
candy cigarettes. You have the Big League chew which is
still a thing. Yes, and you know you can you
can actually get um custom made Big League chew with
your face on the cover of a Big League Chew pack.
I swear to God. So Scotch a pure our boss
in his office, somebody got him a Big League Chew
(01:44:05):
pack of gum and it's his caricature face on on
the front of the Big league chew gum. It's awesome,
It's it's awesome. Yeah, So like I just I saw
that I'm a man that was like old school growing up.
And then what was it? Was it the tweetie bird
to where the gumball eyes you would have the gumball
eyes on the ice cream? Like yeah, it just it
just got me thinking about all the old school treats
(01:44:28):
when we were a kid that will never have again
because you're not allowed to go outside with that a
hazmat suit on. Of course, it's terrible. You know, now
you have to explain to kids what cash is. They
don't know what that is. It was like, okay, true story.
I'm not even making this up. I don't remember how
I ended up with it, but I think I returned
(01:44:50):
something at a store recently and they gave me it
back and kind it might have been. I forget which
story it was. Find of like Ross or Burley think
a fact. There's only stories, yes, of course, Yeah, that's
that's our Nordstrom keVs. That's that's but you you you
candy asses are shopping at Bloomin Dale's where Burlington Burlington
(01:45:13):
Coach Factory or just Burlington whatever they call it now.
But I don't want to be, you know, hitting back
into a corner, so they dropped the coach back. Yeah,
of course, yeah, it's it's it's it's what you do.
I also are dunkin Donuts and just switching to Duncan. Yeah,
they don't want to be called just donuts anymore. Okay,
But I got cash back for what I returned something
and they gave me cash back for whatever reason. And
(01:45:34):
I noticed the ten dollar bill was an old school
ten dollar bill. I could tell by the design that
it was like an old school tenant. And I said
to somebody that I was like, oh, look, these are
like the old school ten dollar bills. You would have
thought I was speaking Russian to them. They had no
idea what I was saying, Like, had no like, no
reference point, nothing they could think of. I just thought
(01:45:56):
to myself, in does anybody pay cash anymore? It is
it all cre did it is? Is it all a
bit coin or doge coin or whatever these cryptocurrencies are.
It's just the world is changing, man, and we're just
sitting here looking for a W W E ice cream bar.
That's all need? Yeah, yeah, you know, whole cold conflects
in the muscles, the macho man doing his thing. They
(01:46:16):
had all the good ones back in the day. Yeah,
I mean, listen, I just look, I just I wish
we could get back to some of the simplicity of things.
But who knows, Maybe maybe there are w w E
ice cream bars. Maybe maybe that's out. I'm sure some
guy has them, like in the back of his freezer
and his in his garage somewhere, and they're probably valued
at a million dollars or something. Nowadays, it's like the
guy when COVID started who was hoarding all the hand
(01:46:37):
sanitizer his garage. Remember that guy Wonder whatever talking about
a waste. Here's a yeah, here's a here's like many
size that hand sanitizer for unbelievable all right, Jonas knocks
Fox Sports Radio coming up next Pro Wrestler or porn
Star eight seven seven ninety nine on foxes the phone number.
(01:46:59):
But for all the itis from around the world of sports,
it's Captain figures. Well, the Dodgers allowed to cleanse themselves
in the Lakes of Lake Manitata, but they can't do that.
They're struggling right now. They lose to the Angels in
Anaheim first game of the Freeway Series by the final
score of nine to two. Showyoatani with a couple of
RBI doubles in that one. But the big story of
the night in Major League Baseball comes in Cincinnati or
(01:47:21):
via the Cincinnati Reds. Wait Miley, the latest pitcher to
thrust himself into the record books. Thirty four year old
veteran eight strikeouts, but he did walk one batter on
route to pitching the fourth no hitter of the young
Major League baseball season. We had another almost no hitter
with Oakland starter Shanmaniah having a no hitter going into
the eighth inning. He did end up giving up a
couple of hits, but the A's held on to beat
(01:47:41):
Tampa Bay two to one. I mentioned Mike Trout with
the RBI triple leading to the angles over the Dodgers.
We have the Giants on the West Coast getting a
home run from Buster Posey as they beat San Diego Giants,
now in first placed in the n L West. The
twins of White Sox and Phillies with winds as well.
Jack Flaherty pitching seven seven shutout innings for St. Louis.
He also hit home run for the Cardinals as they
(01:48:01):
shut out Colorado in the NBA Damian Littar thirty eight points,
leaving Portland over the Lakers one oh six to one
on one, the loss dropping the defending champion a Laker
to the seventh seat in the Western Conference. The top
two seeds in the West, Utah and Phoenix, each with victories,
Phoenix cover coming a double digit deficits to beat the
New York Knicks, Dallas beating Cleveland, Joel and beat scoring
(01:48:23):
thirty seven points as the seventies sixers beat in New Orleans.
Pelicans were shorthanded, did not have Brandon Ingram, who was
out with a nakel injury. There are also without was
I and Williamson, who will be out indefinitely after suffering
a fracture on a finger on his left hand. Back
to Jonas Knocks, Thanks keV Jonas Knox here on Fox
Sports Tradio. By the way, uh Flaherty. When you just
(01:48:45):
hear the name Flaherty, there's no other team in baseball
I think of other than the Cardinals. And I don't
know why. I couldn't imagine him playing for anybody else,
Like if you told me he played for the Padres
you're lying and I didn't know anything about him. Just
Flaherty feels like it was Was there a Flairty who
played for the Cardinals years and years ago? Maybe that's
why it may have been. I feel like there was
(01:49:05):
an old Flaherty, and I think if it's old Flaherty,
he probably has to play for the Red Sox. But
it's good for Yeah, that's good And if he does it,
he opened up a pub right outside the stadies, right
outside the ballpark. Yeah, yeah, it makes all the sense
in the world. All right, here we go. Uh, it
is a time for pro wrestler porn star. By the way,
quick reminder coming up in we'll call it twelve minutes
from now on Fox Sports Radio. Good news NFL good news.
(01:49:30):
All right, there's been a lot of the speculation, rumors, whatever,
good news about the future of the NFL. I'll tell
you what that is twelve minutes from now on Fox
Sports Radio. Right now, though, it's time for something we

wrestlers love that you have an affection for big math.

(01:50:36):
Let's meet our participants here and we will explain the
rules here coming up in just a moment. Let's first
go to Chris, who is in Pomona, California, listening here
on Fox Sports Radio. Chris, what's happening right now? Uh? Now,
how you know You've been trying to get on the
game for how long? What's going on? Man? I'm sure now? Well, lou,
(01:51:05):
we appreciate it, man, and thanks for listening to the program,
and thanks for hanging out with us here. So let's
go ahead and meet your your counterpart here this week.
And for that, we're gonna go to Colorado where Lucas
is listening here on Fox Sports Radio. Lucas, what's happening, Lucas?
What's going on? Lucas? I am just waiting to whoop Samerica. Wow. Wow,
(01:51:29):
you hear that? Chris Real to play a game to dominate?
All right, here we go, So we got some trash
talk getting things started. All right. So here's how this works, guys.
I got a list of names here. I'm gonna go
with Chris, and then I'm gonna go back over to Lucas.
It's either the name of a pro wrestler or a
porn star. At the end of this list, we have
a tie breaker question, uh, and that will be determining
(01:51:52):
the winner if we get to that point if we
have a tie game. So here, let's get it started.
I need to do this pick co star wrestler. Yes,
that's it perfect, All right, here we go. All right,
here we go. Guys. Let's you know, you feel like
we're you know, leaving the starting gates early here, But
let's let's let's settle down here and let's get it going. Chris,
(01:52:13):
you were first up here on Pro Wrestler reporn Star. Chris,
the name for you, sir is Destiny Dimes, pro wrestler
reporn Star. I think that, uh every time I'm going
That is correct. That is correct, and Chris is on
the board. So we go over to Lucas and Colorado.
(01:52:35):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, Lucas, the name for you,
sir is Jonah Rock, wrestler porn star. Sorry, Lucas, go ahead.
That is correct. That is a correct. Jonah Rock is
a wrestler. So we go back over to Chris in California.
(01:52:55):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, Chris, the name for you
to break the tie here on Pro Wrestler A porn
Star is Magdalene Pro Wrestler a porn Starmine. Go Magdalene.
(01:53:17):
You're trying to google it all right, Chris, I'm sorry, Lucas,
come on, what's your turn, Chris? What was the what
was the answer you gave? He said, wrestler. Yeah, that
is incorrect. That Math is a porn star. So we
go back over to Lucas and Colorado. Lucas, you can
(01:53:37):
break the tie here if you get this correct in
the name for you is Tay Dash pro wrestler, a
porn star. A can you repeat that one more time?
Ta Dash? Oh, that's star. That is correct. That is correct.
We hope that's enough. Andy, Andy Furman chiming in here,
(01:53:58):
you guys a loose can and uh, Lucas. We hope
you're not googling there. That seemed awfully fast. All right,
we go okay, very good. Alright, Well leave the details
at that. We don't need we don't need to know
any play by play. We are good. Here we go
back over to Chris in California here on pro wrestler
porn star. Jonas knocks with you here on Fox Sports Radio. Chris,
(01:54:22):
the next name for you is Alicia Fox, pro wrestler,
a porn star. That's that? That is incorrect. Yeah, Alicia
Fox is actually a pro wrestler. So we go back
(01:54:43):
over to Lucas and Colorado. Lucas, the name I just
gave Chris was Alicia Fox. The name I've got for
you is Alicia Pleasures. Is that a pro wrestler or
a porn star? That is incorrect. That's the wrong number
that is in right. Yeah, you guys got that reversed
(01:55:03):
probably a better term I could use for this game
for that, And we will go back over to Chris
here on Fox Sports Radio. So, Chris, you are still
down to point here on pro Wrestler porn Star. In
the name for you, sir is Concrete Davidson, Pro wrestler,
porn Star Davidson. Definitely sounds made up, Davidson. We'll go
(01:55:34):
that is correct. That is correct, Concrete Davidson is a
pro wrestler, and we are all tied up. We go
back over to Lucas in Colorado here on Fox Sports Radio. Lucas.
The next name for you to break the tie here
is Rhino pro wrestler, porn Star, porn Star. That is incorrect. No,
(01:55:58):
that is yeah. I know is a pro wrestler. Although
I see what you were doing there. I see why
you would think, you know, I get it, you know,
like it's like unicorn. I get it. Look, I totally yeah, though, man,
everybody needs a prop from time to time. All right,
we go back over to Chris in California. This is
(01:56:19):
a tie game where in the late stages and Chris,
you can break the tie if you get this correct.
And the name for you is Scarlet Wild, pro wrestler,
porn star Wild. Yes, done, that is correct. Scarlett Wild
(01:56:42):
is a porn star. So we go over to Lucas
in Colorado. Who needs this in order to stay alive? So, Lucas,
here's the situation. If you get this correct, you will
force sudden death over time. If you miss it, it's
over and Chris and California is your winner. So here
we go, Lucas in Colorad out or to tie the game.
The name for you is super Dragon, pro wrestler or
(01:57:08):
porn star. Got to be wrestler. That is correct. Super
Dragon is a pro wrestler. Although you can see you
y you know, if you went the other way, I
would totally understand. But Super Dragon is a wrestler and
we are all tied up here, so now we get
too sudden at the overtime. Here's how it works, guys,
(01:57:29):
I'm gonna say the name. I'm gonna give you the
name of either the pro wrestler or the porn star.
You must buzz in with your name if you want
to have an opportunity at guessing it and winning it.
All right, So you can't just shout out pro wrestler
or porn Star. You need to buzz in with your name,
and whoever gets in first we'll have the opportunity to
win the game. So here we go. The name to
(01:57:52):
win it here on Pro Wrestler or porn Star here
on Fox Sports Radio is Nike Natat. Lucas in Colorado
is in first with an opportunity to win the game.
Lucas Nike Natat. Is that a pro wrestler or a
porn star? That is correct? And Lucas in Colorado is
(01:58:18):
a your winner in pro Wrestler or porn Star. Chris
Hell of an effort very entertaining game, Lucas, Congratulations, you
guys were awesome. Call again soon and we will get
you back on for another edition progres porn Star. Now
you are. We appreciate you listening to the program and
(01:58:38):
hanging out with us. Man, thank you. So there it is,
uh we will we will get to a couple of
those names which are very very puzzling here. Also good
news for NFL fans. All of that yours next here
Jonas Knocks, Fox Sports Radio. Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio,
coming up. We'll call it ten minutes from now here
(01:59:00):
on FS are we are going to get into I
think somebody in the NFL has caused a major issue
around the league, right it's somebody in the NFL. I
think it's caused a major issue potentially for several franchises.
I've got evidence of it, and we'll have that for you.
Hear coming up ten minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio.
(01:59:23):
By the way, speaking of the NFL, the NFL is
going to release its schedule next week next Wednesday, this
big schedule release, and then you know, you get inundated
with these shows that go through and pick wins and
losses on on teams. Whatever. It's weird, but whatever. Um.
There's a report from Ben Fisher of Sports Business Journal
(01:59:43):
that they will permanently move the schedule release to May
moving forward, and I think it's really smart because a
it gives the draft more shine. So we're gonna be
spending more time talking about the draft as opposed to
schedule releases, because I'm not mistaken, the schedule release was
always an April event, it felt like, and it was
always earlier on in April. Um, so we're gonna get
(02:00:06):
more love for the draft. And also it gives the
NFL another window of exposure because you you may release
the schedule on one day, but this is about the
days leading up to it, and most importantly the days
after it, in which people are gonna be talking about matchups,
what makes the most sense, who got the shaft, who's
got the more favorable scheduled down the stretch, so on
(02:00:29):
and so forth. I think the NFL is again figured
out a way to make them a year round sport
and spread out big events for people to look forward to. Thus,
it's the king of sports. It's number one in this country.
Our four is back for you. Next. Some very interesting
timing for a complaint in the NFL and who's responsible.
(02:00:51):
We will get to that here coming up in just
a couple of moments from now, Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio.
You can hang out with us. Is always on the
I Heart Radio app. You can find us on Sirius
x M channel eighty three, and wherever you are taking
part in this program, we appreciate you doing so, hanging
out having some fun here and uh, we appreciate you
(02:01:12):
making us a part of your weekend. It is a
busy weekend in the world of sports. We're still trying
to figure out what the hell is going on with
Aaron Rodgers. We've got Spring league football in action, we've
got Major League base all sorts of craziness. But we
must begin with that story in Green Bay about Aaron
(02:01:34):
Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers and what the f
is going on with their star quarterback and their front office,
because it feels like, to me, we gotta we got
a case of Aaron Rodgers putting some stuff out there,
really frustrated with the situation, and now that he's gotten
the heat and the blowback for maybe uh you know,
(02:01:54):
not kind of kind of being dismissive in a way
towards how good he has it in Green Bay. It
feels like there's a softening of the hardline stance he
was taken, if you will, with the Green Bay Packer organization,
because you're you're hearing all of his former teammates that
are coming out saying, oh, no, it's fixable. Uh you know,
(02:02:18):
we feel like we feel like we can fix this.
James Jones came out and said, well, you know, he's
a conflicted guy right now. He's very conflicted. And look
that I believe a percent because I think he came
out strong. I don't I don't buy the Adam Schefter
stuff that Adam Schefter just happened to release it on
draft day and Aaron Rodgers had nothing to do with it.
(02:02:39):
I just don't buy it. I think that's garbage. I
think that's Adam Schefter trying to you know, trying to
you know, take fall on the sword for Aaron Rodgers.
And if the deal does get done, or if there
is news on Aaron Rodgers, you know, I'd be willing
to bet Adam Schefter is the first guy who's going
to have the story. Like I just that's how I
feel this thing is gonna go. But this Rogers, it
(02:03:02):
feels like, is getting a little bit of the pushback
from Packer fans, is maybe being perceived as a guy
who tried to hijack the draft and all these kids
who would work so hard for their opportunity to make
it big. And then you got, you know, some people
out there that are looking at the Packer roster going,
you know, it's it's not the worst roster in the world.
(02:03:23):
I mean, you know, you know, it doesn't like there's
there's plenty of worse rosters in the NFL. Just go around,
pick a team, any team. The Green Bay Packers have have.
I mean, they've got some good players on that team,
whether it's Aaron Jones, whether it's Stavante Adams, whether it's
David Baktire, Like, they've got good players on that team,
guys that are playing at a high level. So I
(02:03:46):
don't buy the idea that he's just got the worst
situation in the world. But it is funny though, And
I don't know if this is just coincidence. I'm gonna
say probably not. But if you notice what has hap
up in in this offseason in the NFL, like like
you knows what's happened yet, Russell Wilson, who was unhappy,
(02:04:12):
annoyed with what was around him in Seattle, and there
were rumblings of him potentially getting traded, Deshaun Watson before
all of his you know, recent issues and stuff that
he's gonna get sorted out. Deshaun Watson, he was unhappy,
wanted to be traded, didn't like what was around him.
And now you've got Aaron Rodgers reportedly unhappy, doesn't like
(02:04:35):
what's around him, doesn't like the approach they've taken, and
may or may not want to be traded and no
longer be a Green Bay Packer like, all of this
in the same offseason. Kind of weird, right, must be
just coincidence, must be. I mean, just think about it. Well,
this is a league in which you never trade your quarterback.
(02:04:57):
You just don't do it. It's so rare that you
were to do something like that. It's rare that you
would turn your back on a franchise quarterback. All of
those guys are franchise quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers a franchise quarterback
in the Hall of Famer. Russell Wilson is a franchise
quarterback in the Hall of Famer. Deshaun Watson is a
franchise franchise quarterback. And maybe if everything gets cleared up
(02:05:18):
and and we get you know, back on the right path,
and we get this thing sorted out, maybe he ends
up going on and being a Hall of Famer as
well too. But nobody has any of those three guys
outside of their top five quarterbacks in the NFL. So
these are three of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL, Wilson, Watson,
(02:05:40):
and Rogers, and all of them have at least thought
about leaving their current situation, which never happens in the
NFL with franchise quarterbacks. So it just it must be
just purely a coincidence that it's all happening in one
off season, unless it's not because they're doing it because
(02:06:02):
they saw what happened when another guy left his former situation,
Tom Brady and got to go to a place and
actually have a say in building the roster and the
pieces around him when he was a member of the Buccaneers,
which resulted in a Super Bowl. I don't think it's coincidental.
(02:06:26):
I think those guys looked at tom brady situation and
they said, so hold on a second, you don't just
have to do it here where you were drafted. You
can leave somewhere allah the n B A like what
you see in that other spot, and you can go
(02:06:46):
be a part of that if you don't like your
current situation, and worst case scenario, maybe they end up
throwing you a few bucks, or maybe they make some
adjustments and they listen to you, and maybe they actually
end up adding around you a little bit. It's not
the worst thing in the world. Like, all of these
(02:07:06):
things are happening in one off season, and it just
happens to be a couple of months removed from Tom
Brady winning a super Bowl in Tampa his first year.
There's a member of the Bucks. That's not just coincidence.
That's guys that saw somebody in their shoes do something
amazing and they looked at it and said, why can't
(02:07:28):
we do it? Like all in one off season? Just random,
just random occurrence, fluke occurrence. I don't buy it. They
looked at Tom Brady's success and they said, you know what,
why can he do it? But I can't. I mean,
Russell Wilson's a franchise quarterback. Why can he? Why can
Tom Brady do it? But I can't. DeShawn Watson's a
(02:07:52):
franchise quarterback. He's looking at Brady and and and that
situation and going wait, so he like they didn't trade
away his star wide receive us back. They're bringing everybody back.
Everybody's coming back. Aaron Rodgers is seeing that, going hy
man like, like, why can't he do? But I can't
if I don't like what's happening around me, just like
maybe Tom Brady didn't like what was starting to happen
(02:08:13):
around him in New England. He got the hell out
of there and one another super Bowl, and I think
Rogers looks at that and goes, okay, so so it
can work elsewhere. You can make this work elsewhere. And
I think that's why I look at this situation and
I go, this isn't just a a strange occurrence of events.
(02:08:34):
This is obviously three guys who pay attention around the league,
and they pay attention to what other players in their
position do, and if it works somewhere else, it's a
copycat league for players, just like it's a copycat league
for coaches in front offices. And they look at that
and go, I want that same thing, And I get it,
totally get it. I I get the appeal to that.
(02:08:56):
I get uh, you know, looking at that and going, man,
that is something I want, especially with that loaded Bucks team,
because we could say whatever we want about Tom Brady
changing the culture and bringing a winning culture in and
so on and so forth. That was a pretty good roster.
It's a pretty good roster. I mean, you know, we
(02:09:17):
we could focus on Jamis Winston's thirty something interception ze through,
or we can focus on the fact that in that
same year he threw for five thousand yards and over
thirty touchdowns. So it's not like Jamis Winston was just
the worst player, and they're no. They just felt like
they could upgrade and if they could get a guy
who just turned the ball over half the time that
(02:09:39):
Jamis Winston does, then they're gonna win a lot of
those games because turn turning the ball over and winning
the turnover battle is crucial to winning games. It's crucial.
Three fourth of the time. If you win the turnover battle,
you're gonna win the game. Just if you just look
at that stat alone, that's proven. It's of the Tampa
(02:10:00):
Bay Buccaneers had talent. The defense was really good. They
had the coaching staff. You added Tom Brady, Tristan Worth's
and Antoine Winfield Jr. You picked up in the first
round of the draft, and they're set and they're good. Everybody,
I mean, even blame Gabbert resigned there. I think these
quarterbacks looked at brady situation and they said, man, why
(02:10:21):
the hell can I have that? I mean, and their
situations aren't even that bad. I mean, Russell Wilson, you
can you can say whatever you want about it. Man.
They threw their support at you. Financially, you wanted this contract,
you wanted a big time deal. They showed you their
loyalty to you. They showed you that support, just like
(02:10:41):
they showed you support when they decided you were the
guy they were going to build around. And they said
bye bye, and they bid farewell to all those loud,
really talented, super Bowl caliber defensive players on the other side,
and Marshawn Lynch. They chose you, they like they committed
to you, Deshaun Watson. Your organization committed to you too.
(02:11:05):
They gave you a big time contract. Yes, DeAndre Hopkins left,
but man, you still signed the deal after he left,
So don't so don't tell me that's what was bothering you.
And for Aaron Rodgers, Dude, you've been to the NFC
title game two years in a row. We talked about
what you've got on the offensive side of the ball.
It's not like you're a bad team. Like there's been opportunities,
(02:11:26):
so right or wrong, you cannot agree with it. And
there's there are elements to it that I don't agree
with at all. That that I think is a little
bit shortsighted and not the most loyal thing in the world.
But I think this is all happening, if if to
a small extent, if not a large extent to a
small one because they see what Tom Brady did when
(02:11:46):
he actually got the opportunity to go somewhere else, and
they're looking at that going. I wouldn't mind being able
to rewrite the end of my career. Also, Jonas Knocks

up all the way until six am Eastern Time here
on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next though, uh, there
is a I'm not trying to make excuses for somebody
(02:12:30):
in the world of sports, but they are under fire
and I actually can understand why they are making the
mistakes that they are. We'll have that for you next
here on FSR Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can
listen to this show on the I Heart Radio app.
Coming up in we will call it ten minutes from
(02:12:51):
now here on FS are we are going to have
the scraps things in the world of sports we have
not had a chance to get to. They're yours ten
minutes from now out on Fox Sports Radio. Um. There
has been a UM we've been talking a lot about
just what has happened with the Aaron Rodgers stuff, and
and the decision on Aaron Rodgers and all of these,
(02:13:14):
all of these things that have come out. The Adam
Schefter statement, I just think seems a little bit fishy,
you know, all of a sudden, We're What is funny
about the Roger stuff is how people are picking sides.
I just I find it so entertaining, man Like, I
think it is so entertaining. There was this report, um
(02:13:36):
that came out that Rogers that there was a mega
contract offer. Um. You know that the uh, the Athletic
reported that that Aaron Rodgers was offered to be the
highest paid quarterback in the league. Uh. You know, we
don't know the terms of the deal. So you know, look,
if the Packers came to Rogers and said, Okay, you
(02:13:57):
want to pay raise, fine, We'll give you a one
year deal worth forty five point five million dollars, so
you're the highest paid quarterback in the NFL. And Rogers
would be like, dude, kiss my ass, Like what is that.
It's like, it's like, what are we doing here? I
remember I was, um, we were looking at cars. My
wife wanted to Lisa cars. She was looking at cars.
(02:14:19):
We go to these car lots and it's just it's
a miserable experience because everybody's full of crap. Uh and
and yet they're always it's the same old mumbo jumbo
bs all right, well, well let me crunch the numbers.
Let me go talk to my boss and see if
it's okay. And they go back and they're like, you know,
have a have a have a bag of rolled golds.
And they come back and say, well, you know, I mean,
(02:14:42):
if I can get you down to this price, do
I have your commitment here? So it's just like, oh god,
it's it's a it's a terrible experience. I can't stand
it because everybody is so full of it. And I
just remember we were looking for a price that we
felt was fair for the car, and they wouldn't budge
off whatever the price. And I don't even remember the
(02:15:05):
terms of the deal. So I'll just throw out a
monthly number. I don't think it was this much, but
it was something along the lines of it was like,
you know, can you get it below four hundred a
month or whatever the case was. I don't think it
was that high. I think it was much less than that,
but just throwing a number out there, and we're like,
can you get up below the four dred a month?
And we were going back and forth. It was like
like we kept saying the same things and they wouldn't budge.
(02:15:26):
They wouldn't budge, they wouldn't bugche Finally they just came
back and handed us the thing and it was and
I was like, all right, you got up below four
hundred a month, but you're just such a pain in
the ass about it that we left. We're like, I
just I don't. I can't deal with this crap. I
just And it's so they could have offered Aaron Rodgers
a one year deal, and they could have offered him
(02:15:47):
the you know, forty five point five or forty five
million and one cent more than Patrick Mahomes to be
the highest paid quarterback, and he would have just you know,
he would have been insulted or it would have been
annoyed with it and he would have walked away. But
we're seeing people pick sides, which is so funny how
this plays out, because the Packers, it feels like, are
(02:16:08):
actively getting their side out, like their stuff about you know,
the contract extension that they offered him, and their stuff
about you know, the the text chain that he was on, uh,
and stuff about how Aaron Rodgers was telling teammates and
other players don't sign here via free agency. Like there's
there's all these stories that are coming out, and now
(02:16:31):
we're seeing the side that is being chosen by people,
most notably fans and media for the most part, who
are picking their side here who they're signing with. And
it feels like the fans are siding with the Packers
that they feel like Aaron Rodgers is being maybe a
little bit of a diva, right or wrong, That's my
(02:16:53):
the way I'm reading it. Fans feel like Aaron Rodgers
is complaining a lot, and it's not the worst situation
in the world, definitely not as bad as he's making
it out to be. And you've got the media all
picking the side of Aaron Rodgers, and we know why
that is, right, because a lot of people in the
media kiss ass. It's what they do. They're fanboys and
(02:17:14):
fan girls, and they're hoping if they can be really
nice and if they can support Aaron Rodgers, that maybe
he'll come on and do an interview or hop on
their podcast or give him a like on Twitter or
follow him on snap face or Instagram or whatever it's called.
Like like, this happens all the time. You don't have
(02:17:36):
to worry about that with me because I do Weekend
Overnight and he listened to the show and he doesn't
know who I am, and he's not coming on this
show period ever at any point. So I'm just gonna
call it out. It is. And it feels like we
have got agendas out there and people pick insides when
(02:17:58):
the reality is this, there's a there's a good chance.
And everything I've heard about Aaron Rodgers from people that
that that know him, I've never again I've never met him,
but people that know him that he's a good dude.
Like everything I've heard, he's a he's a good dude,
but he doesn't trust the media and what is out there,
(02:18:19):
and and all of that is fair, And I can't
blame him because once you're in the public eye, a
lot of people run with stuff. But maybe there's just
the real possibility that he just he's searching for what's
going to make him happy and he doesn't have any
answers yet. And I say that because he had talked
(02:18:39):
years ago. Aaron Rodgers was quoted as saying after they
won the Super Bowl that he was sitting on a
plane coming back from the Super Bowl next to the
Lombardi Trophy and he thought to himself, is this it?
Like I worked my entire life, I got to this moment,
I got to this point. I finally want a Super Bowl.
I'm sitting next to the trophy that I had been
(02:19:00):
dreaming about since I was a child. Now it's here,
and I don't feel any different. So now what it
could be that it could be like that Kevin Durant stuff,
Kevin Durant. It's something along the similar along. It could
be just that simple as as being the root of
the issue here, like and and again I'm not gonna
(02:19:24):
pick side, just oh who I agree with? I think
there are aspects of this that you look at and
you go, Okay, I can understand all that, but you've
got to keep everything, at least keep an an open
mind to everything out there that maybe this is just
the fact that Aaron Rodgers has never found total peace
(02:19:45):
enjoy with the game, and he's kind of trying to
figure this stuff out as he goes along, which is
why he's thinking about going to host Jeopardy, which is
why he's you know, unhappy with you organization. But he
loves the Packers like he's just he's trying to figure
this out in real time, and we're just trying to
(02:20:06):
figure out what the hell is happening and how we
can take advantage of it as a media, so we
have stories to talk about in the off season. It's
a sick world, but welcome to it. Jonas knocks here
on fs are UM. I do wanna mention this because
I thought this was this was kind of interesting. So
Zion Williamson looks like he might be out for the
(02:20:28):
rest of the regular season. Um suffered an injury to
his hand, so he's gonna miss some time and extended
period of time. And the Pelicans GM David Griffin was
not happy about it, uh, and he voiced his displeasure
and placed a little bit of blame as to why
his superstar young player, Zion is now potentially out for
(02:20:52):
the rest of the season. I'm really frustrated because this
was avoidable. Um. We told the NBA through every means
available to through sending in film, through speaking to everybody
in the officials department, everybody in basketball operations, that the
way they were officiating Zion was going to get him injured. UM.
(02:21:12):
And quite frankly, he's injured now because of the open
season that there's been on Zion Williamson in the paint. UM.
He has been absolutely mauled in the paint on a
regular basis, to the point that other players have said
to him, I'm going to keep doing this to you
because they don't call it. So there's more violence encouraged
(02:21:34):
in the paint against Zion Williamson than any player I've
seen since Shack. Um. It was egregious and horrific then,
and the same is true now. UM. I'm particularly disappointed
in myself and our organization. We did a very poor
job apparently of explaining in the proper sense of with
the proper sense of urgency, how severe this situation was
(02:21:57):
from a league perspective. UM. That's my fault. Um, this
situation is very much something that should have been able
to be avoided if we were protecting our players in
the way that we should be uh in the league,
and this just was not done. So again, I'm I'm
very disappointed that he's not going to be available, um
(02:22:19):
here for the foreseeable future anyway. Um, but I'm more
disappointed in our in us quite frankly, that we weren't
able to bring the the appropriate sense of urgency to
the league conversation around the way he was officiated. So
that was Pelicans general manager David Griffin. They're unhappy with
Sion Williamson being out and how he feels it could
(02:22:41):
have been avoided. UM. I'm not trying to make excuses
for anybody here, all right. I'm not trying to do it.
I don't I don't want to do that. I'm not
trying to bail the officials out. But maybe there is
something too, the fact that he's so much different than
everybody else. Maybe they're not really sure how to officiate him.
(02:23:05):
I I think that's like he mentioned, Shack and Shacks
a perfect comparison, because if you if you called every
foul that should have been called on Shack during the
course of his career. Who knows how many more times
he would have gone to the free throw line. Now,
whether or not anybody wanted to see that with with
his inability to hit free throws, especially during the regular season,
(02:23:26):
who the hell knows. But like there's been some people
that said, well, you know Zion Williams and his fourth
and free throw attempts this year. Okay, fine, but it
doesn't mean that they're calling everything, you know, Like, it
doesn't mean that they're you know that you know, you're
calling every It's like it's like you know, telling your
telling your girlfriend or your wife, like, hey, listen, just
(02:23:46):
so you know, like nine out of ten times when
I go out, I'm not fooling around on you. Yeah. Okay,
but that's not every time because there's nothing missing here. Yeah,
but nine out of ten, I'm not. It's like, just
because there he's getting some some calls doesn't mean he's
getting every call. And I don't know that you necessarily
(02:24:06):
blame the officials for that. I understand that the tendency
to want to do it, but I don't know that
that I would just look at this and go all right, well,
you know, blame him. Um, you know it's it's their fault. Uh.
You know these guys you know clearly aren't aren't doing
their job and they're not they're not making the right adjustments.
And this is this is a player who needs their
(02:24:28):
help and they're not getting any help. And it's like, man, like,
we can we can focus on on just the Zion
Williamson not getting the calls all we want, or we
can talk about the fact that Zion Williamson plays this league,
plays in this league different than anybody else does. I mean,
he just does like he plays like he does his
(02:24:50):
approach to the NBA and this game is different than
everybody else's. Here's an example. In a three point dominant league,
right j Zion Williamson is a top ten score in
the n b A. I love him. He might be
my favorite player in the NBA for this reason. In
a three point dominant league where where threes are everything,
(02:25:11):
where if you don't shoot threes, you're considered to be antiquated,
You're considered to be a guy who you know, nobody's
gonna nobody's gonna look at and go and then like
this this is a dude who I mean, like this
would be a great method a great approach if we
were back in the nineties. But this just doesn't make
any sense. Like if we're talking about today's NBA right
(02:25:34):
and we're just talking about what he's done today in
comparison to every other player in the NBA right now,
he never shoots threes. Everything is in the paint. He doesn't.
He's not one of these guys who's who's who's standing
there behind the arc just throwing up threes. He's not
a guy who all of a sudden learned how to
(02:25:55):
shoot freeze and threes and that's it. He's not even
gonna worry about anything else. He's not gonna worry about that.
He's just gonna stand. No, no, he has no interest
in it. He doesn't want any part of it. It's
not it's at no point is he looking at scoring
and saying, I need to go stand twenty five ft
out and I need to go stand twenty five ft
(02:26:15):
out and try and hit as many shots as I
can because that's the way I'm gonna get better as
a player, and that's the way I'm gonna make my money.
No no no, no, I'm going to the basket and I'm
going to score. It's different than everybody else. Steph Curry
averages over twelve threes a game, So he averages twelve
three point attempts a game like that. That's Steph Curry.
(02:26:38):
So every single game, at least twelve times, Steph Curry
is standing behind the arc trying to hit threes. And
he's an all time great shooter. Zion is nowhere close
to that Zion is averaging. He's not even averaging a
three point attempt a game like He's nowhere close. So
(02:26:59):
I wonder if officials are looking at this guy get
to the basket and they're just not used to seeing
how he plays. They're just not used to seeing his
approach to the game because it's so different than everybody
else is. I'm not trying to bail him out. They
probably should call more fouls, but he is getting to
the free throw line, and I do like the approach
from David Griffin. They're trying to let it be known
(02:27:21):
our guys getting screwed, and I think it's gonna benefit
moving forward. But when you get a guy at a
three point dominant league who has no interest in shooting
threes whatsoever, a guy who on the season, when you
get Steph Curry averaging twelve a game. Zion's got thirty
four attempts for the entire year behind the arc. I mean,
(02:27:41):
come on, man, like this is a different approach, It's
a different player, and maybe they're just not used to
seeing it. Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next,
we are going to get to the scraps things we
have not had a chance to get to. But for
all the latest, it's Kevin figures, all right. We had
another no hitter in Major League Baseball on Friday night,
fourth of the season. This time it was Red's veteran
thirty four year old lefty Wight Miley. If you cant
(02:28:04):
Madison Bumgarner's unofficial seven any no hitter, that's five no
knows so far this season. They would pick up the
victory Cincinnati over Cleveland three to nothing. Elsewhere, the Angels
all over the Dodgers nine to two, taking Game one
of the Freeway Series. Mike Trout with an rv I
triple and that one Oakland starters Shamanea pitched a no
hitter into the eighth inning. He ended up giving up
a couple of hits. Oakland held on to beat Tampa
(02:28:26):
Bay two to one. Other baseball victories for the Cardinals,
Astros and the Giants, who had a five to four
victory over the Padres Buster Posey with the home run
in that one. In the NBA, Portland getting thirty eight
points from Damian Lillard in a victory over the Lakers,
l A falls to the seventh seat in the West.
With that loss, the Son's outscorth the makes seventeen and
the fourth quarter to nach to one oh five victory
(02:28:49):
Jazz defeating the Denver Nuggets. Boy On Bogdanovitch career high
forty eight points in that one. Wins for Dallas, Milwaukee
and Miami Chicago, with the victory over the Boston Celtics
once when he wants to nine and Joel and beats
taking claim to his MVP candidacy thirty seven points thirteen
rebounds as the seventies Sixers beat the afromentioned Pelicans, who
has Jonas mentioned, are without the services of Zaya william Is,
(02:29:11):
saying likely for the remainder of the season after fracturing
a finger on his left hand. Back to Jonas Knocks,
Thanks keV Jonas Knocks here on Fox Sports Radio. We
are late, so we will get right to something we
do every single week here on the show, and it's
called this, Jonas, how could you not get to these
(02:29:31):
stories are the scraps? And for that we turned it
over to the voice of l A sports radio cabinet
figures to find out what the hell we missed so
far on the show. keV all right, we'll go quickly here, Jonas.
I mentioned the no hitter by Wade Miley for the
Reds on Friday night, fourth of the season so far,
as a second in three days. We just had one
in Baltimore the other night. I guess the question is,
(02:29:52):
and we've seen this increasingly over the last couple of years,
this sort of feast or famine when it comes to
Major League Baseball. You have great pitching performances, lots of
strikeouts or balls flying out of the yard left and right.
I know that the earlier returns on the ratings have
been very good so far this season. Has it affected
your viewership or your entertainment value when it comes to
Major League Baseball? Knowing that it can either be twelve
(02:30:14):
to two or two to nothing. When I give a
night no, I was actually I'm so glad you brought
this up. I was actually thinking about this. It kind
of feels like baseball is making a resurgence, doesn't it
Like it feels like it feels like it's popping up
on a national level more so than it has before.
Whether it was you know, Fernando tattoos Uh and the
series he had against the Dodgers, whether it was you know,
(02:30:36):
the lindor you know fight and home run on Friday Night,
whether it just the no hitters like it, it feels
like it's made a resurgen just seeing you know, dugouts
cleared again. And I don't know what it is. I
don't know what to attribute it to, but it does
feel like there's been a little bit of a resurgence.
And I've been more interested in regular season baseball this
(02:30:57):
year for some reason that I having a lot of
years passed, and I do want if it's still the
residual of last year, and knowing we at the shortened
season and this time last year, we're talking about Tiger
King and not talking about baseball like we usually would be.
So it's like it's kind of a bit of a
restarts of normalcy to a certain degree, and people, whereas
baseball may have been just a passive thing that you
would just look at, maybe look at a box score
(02:31:17):
here and there. You're actually paying attention to it because
you appreciated when it was gone last year. Yeah, and
I just and and I also think there was something
weird about no fans being in stands like it was
just it was it was really odd. I think they
try to do the digital fans, you know, in certain games,
and it looked okay, But it's like there's something about
the energy of being at a ballpark. I can't wait
(02:31:37):
to go to a game again. I I don't know
when that's going to be um, but I I can't
wait to be able to get to a ballpark and
just hang out. I have no interest in being a
member of the media. I just want to go have
a beer, have a hot dog, and watch a baseball
game in person. That's all I want. How about some
spring college football talk, some trash shot going between two
uh to football coaches in the SEC. So you had
(02:32:00):
Jimbo Fisher, who was talking at a booster event earlier
this week basically said he and the Aggies want to
kick Nick Saban and Alabama's asked, that's I'm quoting him
at that. So Nick Saban was asked about that earlier
this week and he basically saying it, I'm paraphrasing like
kick my kick my button, what golf. It's kind of
it's on his comeback. Of course, a mL one loss
(02:32:21):
in the regular season last year, and that was when
they got trounced buy Alabama. Oh of course went on
to to go on defeating to win the national championship.
Agin but I do love some trash talk in the
college football world. Add some extra intrigue. Oh man, I
just I first of all, college football, I have no
idea what they're gonna do with expanding the playoffs or
whatever the case may be. But you're starting to see
(02:32:41):
more and more that there's gonna be packed stadiums this year.
That that that teams have already and programs have already
come out and said, yeah, we plan on full stadiums.
Like just like that that panoramic shot where you just see,
you know, the Fuji blimp or whatever they want to
you know, call it that did go is over a
stadium and you see it packed with a hundred thousand
(02:33:03):
people in attendance. I can't wait for that. That that
is that is college football. Man, that's what we especially
in the South with the SEC. Yeah, you had a
small preview of that with the Alabama spring game. What
do they have forty thousand fans something like that, and
it wasn't it wasn't capacity. But it looks so much
better than last year. Ohio State had ninety three thousand
(02:33:24):
a few years ago at a spring game, and they
were charging, they were charging, And you know, I think
it is because we're spoiled out here in southern California.
The weather, for the most part is generally nice, so
we don't really have a bitter, bitter cold winter. And
then all of a sudden it starts getting nicer and
you're like, man, I want to get out of the house.
The snow is melting, Let's get out. I think in
(02:33:45):
a lot of those places in the Midwest back East,
they deal with these harsh winters that all of a sudden,
the spring game is almost a sign of the weather
is getting warmer. The nice time of the year is here.
Let's get out with the family. I think they were
charging five bucks ahead at the at the Ohio State
spring game. Man, five bucks ahead. Multiply that by ninety
(02:34:07):
three thousand. That's damn good money for a spring football
game and to watch guys practice. That's enough money to
give to a recruit to get him to come to
come to school. Oh my guy, look, you've got USC
fans and are listening to this, keV. They don't deserve
this kind of criticism from you. How didn't take a
(02:34:28):
shot at them like that? Well, if it was USC,
they would go on through the side door and not
actually they would do it that way and just you know,
get a photo shop their way onto the rowing team
and find a way to get into the college. That
that is how it works. And that's a rapid fire
of the scrapstare jonas well. Listen that, keV. We appreciate.
That's my fault. I bloviated on me as Zion way
(02:34:50):
and said, I just look thirty four three attempts the
entire season, and Steph's doing over twelve a game. It's
it's and he's still a top ten score. I just
I think when you see that, it's a good thing
because we've been sort of overpopulated with the three point
shot in the NBA. To see somebody do it completely
(02:35:11):
different like Zion's doing it, I think it's good for
the sport, I honestly do. I don't think it will
cause a revolution back to like the classic big man
at all, but I think it at least it will
give some big guys out there, some Paulicy to say, Hey,
you know what, maybe I don't have to come out
and be seven ft three and jack up nine three
pointers a game. I can actually use my size on
the inside and dominate that way. And Zion, I'm sure
(02:35:32):
over the years, is going to develop a more consistent
outside shot. But don't lose that inside game, man. I
mean he has that's a that's an inherent advantage he
has over many other players. I mean that's probably him,
maybe Joel and Beid, maybe Yannas who have a legit
back to the basket game. All these other guys are
living on the perimeter nine times out of ten. And
I don't even think he knows he's a superstar. No,
like literally just carries himself like whatever, like it, just
(02:35:54):
just does his thing and there's no no no issues
off the coret, no draw. I'm not complaining, like you know,
like like Luca every you know, every single call, like
it's unbelievable, Like even I think he is acknowledging like, yeah,
I got I just you know what am I doing?
Any Well? Just the funny part about Luca Jonas is
he said the same thing last year. He says, well,
(02:36:16):
you know what, I complained too much. I gotta work
on that. And we come to like almost a year
to the date later and he's doing an interview on
t n T that says, yeah, I complain too much.
I gotta work on that. There's one thing to be
self aware to actually say it, but you gotta do
it at a certain point too. It's like, what's your
New Year's resolution. I'm gonna go on a diet. So yeah,
that was the last four years, you know, Like it's
just like, yeah, sooner or later you got to actually
(02:36:36):
put you know, put the work in and stop doing it.
And he just has so what you you know what
or get off the potation? Yeah, exactly, alright, good stuff.
Jonah Stocks Fox Sports Radio, UM, alright, coming up next
here on fs ARE, there's look, there's a lot of
people that are very upset about a certain situation and
they're actually calling shenanigans. I'm gonna tell you why. It's
(02:36:58):
actually legit sports related and you should be interested. It's
next year at FSR. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio. I
will be back on the air with my guy Bucky
Brooks five pm Eastern time, two o'clock Pacific, right here
on fs ARE. We will have all sorts of stuff
on still, storylines coming out of the draft, the Aaron
(02:37:21):
Rodgers conversation, all of that, Bucky Brooks and myself five
pm Eastern time, two o'clock Pacific, right here on a
Fox Sports Radio. By the way, I do want to
let you know we are brought to you by Discovered.
Discover matches. All the cash back you earn on your
credit card at the end of your first year. It's
amazing because discovers accepted at places in the US to
(02:37:41):
take credit cards. Learn more Discover dot com slash Yes
two thousand twenty one Nielsen Report limitations apply. So there
is a a big time boxing event that's taken place
this weekend. And here's what's so funny about this. So
you've got um, You've got a can Eello Alvarez, who's
the pay per view star. He is the the pay
(02:38:04):
per view star, he is the cash cow of boxing.
And you've got Billie Joe Saunders and it looks like, um,
you know, a pretty good matchup, especially when you got
Canelo Alvarez, who's a pound for pound best in the world.
A lot of people feel that way. But what's funny
about what is happening with this is that a lot
of people are spending more time talking about the Paul
(02:38:27):
Brothers fighting Floyd Mayweather. Uh and then him snatching his
hat and running away, and you've got these these boxing
fans are like, why is anybody giving this any sort
of attention? Why you listen? If you're I love boxing
more so, uh, if not as much more so than
anybody on the radio. As far as I actually watched
these events, I watched Chris Areola and uh Andy Ruies.
(02:38:51):
I paid for it last week to watch that pay
per view. I love boxing. You can be upset all
you want, but the Paul Brothers are bring and eyes
to the sport. The Floyd Mayweather situation. Boxing gets a
bad rap because every time there's a skirmish, everybody wants
to say, oh, the fixes in and this is pro
wrestling and this wasn't real. I can tell you this.
(02:39:14):
I've been watching Floyd Mayweather fights for years and years
back to when he was called pretty boy Floyd, before
he had the villain character of Money Mayweather and all
that stuff. He was called pretty boy Floyd. He was
a skilled fighter. His dad was a fighter, his uncle
was a fighter way back then. I've been watching Floyd
Mayweather a long time. I've never seen him legitimately piste
(02:39:37):
off like he was when Jake Paul snatched his hat
off his head. Never seen it. And we can complain,
as boxing fans and boxing blowhards that we don't like
that this is the story that's getting the attention. When
you got a Canelo Alvarez fine on the same weekend
and you've got actual fighters instead of these YouTubers and whatnot,
(02:40:00):
we may not like it, but the fact of the
matter is they're bringing more eyeballs to the sport than
that sport has gotten in quite some time. I'm not
happy about it, but you've got to acknowledge it. It
is what it is. This is where the sport is at.
So you can complain about it all you want, or
you can do something about it. Uh fun show. Thanks
for everybody for hanging out. Thanks to Bow, Thanks to
(02:40:21):
Chris Perfett, Thanks to Kevin figures and thanks to you
for being a part of it. We are back next
week here on Fox Sports Radio Jonas Knocks. We'll see
you then
