Speaker 1 (00:00):
You don't listening to Fox Sports. How did it begin?
We'll look get to that just about a minute. But
right now it's time to say Happy Mother's Day. Happy
Mother's Day. Wake up, everybody. It's Mother's Day. Yes, it is,
and this is Fox Sports Sunday. He's probably no. I'm
Andy Ferman. Right now it is my esteam pleasure to
(00:23):
introduce my partner, my friend, the man who rolls this show.
He carries me every single Sunday, the only Mr Brian No.
Hello be Happy Mother's Day to you. Thank you, Andy
fermin h. Happy Mother's Day. All the mothers out there,
for sure will wax poetic throughout the show today, especially
(00:48):
I will about my mom. She is amazing. So but
I've got a bowl of cereal down already, Andy Firman,
I'm ready to go. I know you're always ready to go.
You don't have to make any excuse. You know he's
ready to go, and I'm ready to go with you.
I'll tell you what. As far as Mother's Day is concerned,
a little bit of a history lesson a woman by
the name of Anna Jarvis. She started a campaign for
this official holiday honoring her mom after she passed away
(01:11):
back in nineteen ought five, and then back in nineteen fourteen,
President Woodrow Wilson signed the proclamation making Mother's Day an
official holiday to take place to second Sunday of May,
which is today, the ninth of May. So happy Mother's
Day to want to know all, And it's gonna be
a great day. Otherwise around my part is not too good,
but I hope it's good for you. But as long
(01:32):
as with with your mom is gonna be a great day,
that's for sure. You with the oughts, I still can't
get beyond that. I think I do it intentionally to
kind of get a rise out of you a little bit.
What is it? What did you say? Nineteen five, nineteen
nineteen o five, nineteen at five. Yeah, man, I never
heard oughts before you Andy, And I'm sure other people
(01:54):
do it. I know they do, but I haven't heard that.
You don't hear it often, that's for sure. I tell
you what, though, you don't hear a lot of adds
when you talk about Russell Westbrook. I mean, I'm so
impressed with this guy. But the said thing is, and
we've talked about Russell several times of the first year,
when the average of triple double, and last night he
passed Oscar Robertson for the most triple doubles ever in
(02:14):
the history of the NBA, which amazes me time. Uh,
it amazes me the amount of rebounds he gets. Points
I could handle. He had thirty three points, nineteen bounds
and fifteen assists in the Wizards one one three two
overtime win over the Paces yesterday. But I guess unless
you win, you're almost like an afterthought. And after he
won that m v P that first year, when the
(02:36):
average to triple double, it was like almost expected of
him to do it every single year, So it's like
a whole hum he did it again. Well, listen to
tie Oscar Robertson to be averaging a triple double for
the fourth season out of five years, four and five.
We never thought we'd see that again. That's insane. So
(02:58):
shout out to Russell west Brook. I just I don't
understand the amount of negativity and criticism that he receives.
I understand he hasn't won a championship. I understand that
there are some flaws in his game. He's not a
good outside shooter. Sometimes his decision making leaves a lot
to be desired, but that should be the Oh, by
the way, it just seems like oftentimes that's what many
(03:19):
people harp on, harp on, harp on, and then it's, oh,
by the way, he's incredibly productive. It shouldn't be like
that at all. If you look at Bradley Beale, Bradley
Beale has the most forty point games in Wizard's history.
He's got the most fifty point games. He went for
fifty last night, you know so, And you don't hear
(03:40):
that about Bradley Beale. Of Oh, he's a stat pattern.
He's just he's out for his numbers, and right, like,
can we at least be reasonable with Russell Westbrook if
we're reasonable with Bradley Beale. I just don't understand the
amount of criticism that Russell Westbrook receives. Well stuff for you,
it's about criticism. I don't understand why he just gets
traded all the time. I don't get it. I mean
there must be something been going on there. I mean,
(04:01):
the guy has been gone from team to team, and
you know, he has a lot of things in in
the in the same area as Oscar Robertson, not honestly
a player, but He's always played on undermanned teams, a
big Old the Big Old players, some real bad teams
in Cincinnati, and then he finally went to Milwaukee, hooked
up with the Kareem and they won the championship. But
other than that, you know they have a lot in common.
(04:21):
Great stats, great team guys. You know average of trip
will double. But played on bad teams. Well, I don't
think it's that crazy. He's just played for what three teams,
So he goes from Okay Seed to Houston. It didn't
work out in Houston with the Wizards. That's it. It
hasn't been Look at Chris Paul. Chris Paul has played
for a lot more teams. He's been traveled more than
(04:41):
Russ has and Chris Paul has made his presence known
whoever he's been. So I just think that compare those two,
that's a good comparison right there. Look at Chris Paul.
Chris Paul has done his thing. He's put up numbers
with some dog teams. He was great last season with
the Thunder and he's doing his thing with Sons this season.
But Chris Paul hasn't won jack either. Who harps on
(05:04):
Chris Chris Paul doesn't have a championship this guy, right,
They don't say that about Chris Paul. Why is it
just with Russell Westbrook. I really think that people are
tired of hearing about triple doubles. They have triple double
fatigue because you'll hear that like, oh gosh, it's an
arbitrary stat and people just become stupid when it comes
(05:25):
to Russell Westbrook. It's insane to me. But I really
do think there's something to that, and it's no excuse.
I'm just trying to explain where does this amount of
criticism come from? And I think that's a big portion
of it right there. You know, he's one of those guys. Honestly,
I would pay to watch play because I think that
a he comes to play every single day, he plays hard,
puts up those numbers which are unbelievable. I love to
(05:46):
see it in person. I really would. And look when
they say at least he plays, I'm talking about like
guys like James Hard and Kevin Duran and Kyrie Irving,
the big three. Those are the big three of the
Brooklyn Nets. They played just six games together, six games.
It's they play. They played seven together. Oh last night
they played together. Ye okay seven. The point is this,
(06:07):
it's a shame. It's a crying shame. I mean, these
guys like play when they want to play. I mean,
you can't be that hurt that often. I mean James
Harden and I mean, I don't understand that. I just
don't get it. But at least Westbrook's out there every
single night he's playing. And at the same extent, I mean,
when Curry is not hurt badly like a broken bone
or hand or whatever, maybe he's out there as well.
(06:30):
But these guys in Brooklyn, they just come and go
as they please. They're really doing it. That bothers me.
I really, I think it hurts the league. Yeah, well, hey,
I hear you. I think there's been way too much
of a cautious approach. That's probably the best way to
say it. Is incredibly cautious approach with those nets players. Listen,
if you've got a tweaked tam string and you can't
(06:52):
go okay. But with Kyrie Irving Kyrie, it seems like
Randy Moss, remember when Randy said, I play what I
want to play. It's almost like Tyree went on YouTube
saw that video and was like, you know what, none
of these got it. That's what I want to do.
Like he just seems to be treating basketball like a hobby.
So yeah, for Russell Westbrook to go out there, there
are a lot of players that if they were playing
(07:13):
with the Wizards this season, they wouldn't they just shut
it down. They'd be out to lunch for the most part.
And Russ that dude. You can knock certain things about
his game, you cannot knock his grind. That dude doesn't
take anything for granted. He's not cutting corners. He's giving
you an honest effort every single time. And that is
incredibly admirable, especially in this day and age when there
(07:35):
are a lot of players that don't do that right.
And I think we have to go back and we
talked about the potential m v P when the season
began a couple of weeks into the season, and I
think that was like, hands down, Lebron, you can't give
it to Lebron. I mean, he's been out, he's been
hurt obviously, I think for all the time is catching
up with him. Anthony Davis same thing with him. I
think right now it's gonna be perhaps Currie and or
(07:56):
Russell Westbrook. Those are the leading candidates. I think for
every situations, I've tried to help you on this, Andy,
I've tried, let me hear, let me. You just don't care.
It is Nicola Yokich. He's going to win the m
v P. He deserves it. He's in the top five
of all the main categories. But you know what, here's
another guy who gets no love. There's another guy gets
(08:18):
no love at all. Really when you think about I mean,
you hear about the game when a commentator says who
won last night and how many points they scored, whatever
like that. But other than that, the guy is a
shadow in the NBA. You don't hear much about him.
You really don't. You don't hear a ton You should
hear way more. I think that unfortunately, because Yokich isn't
a high flyer. A lot of this is just highlights.
(08:40):
Who produces the best highlights? And you get some with
yo Kich for sure, don't get me wrong, but he's
just he's he's in slow motion and I love his speed.
It's just it's not highlight inducing. And that's the way
a lot of people sample the game. They're not watching
full games. They're just watching highlights. They flip on Sports Center,
they go on Twitter, they go on their sports app
(09:01):
of choice, and they see highlights. So if Steph Curry
is doing something that makes your jaw drop, or Russell
Westbrook shows his amazing athleticism, I think that sticks with
people more. And I think that's why some have been
so standoffish about your kis who easily deserves m v
P this season, and it turns into give it to
(09:21):
this guy, give it to that guy, Like it's not
gonna be Russell Westbrook as great as he's been this season. Andy,
you can't have a team that's trying to make it
into the play in tournament around tenth place. There's he
has no chance, none, He's not going to be. It
would be like getting the m v P to a
losing team in the super Bowl. It it just normally
does not happen. I understand that, But really and truly
(09:43):
I think that he will garner some votes in that
m v P simply because of what you said, highlights
and stats and just PR in general. Where yokis right
now is a shadow as far as PR is concerned
with both Curry and Westbrook, you know, but he'll get votes.
He will get looks deservingly. Yes, Yokich is right there,
no doubt. Stat wise, if a guy is a true
(10:04):
student of the NBA and he gets a vote as
an NBA and the m v P voter, he should
vote for Yokich. If he's honest with himself. Well, I
don't know, man, Uh, I'd be interesting to It'll be
very interesting to see the votes when they come out,
because again I I've said the same thing with Steph Curry,
especially when Steph was on his tear. He had thirty
(10:26):
plus points for eleven straight games. It was amazing for
a player his age, but he surpassed Kobe As being
a thirty three year old with that streak going on
thirty plus and eleven straight and a lot of people
got on the Steph Curry bandwagon, like this guy's gonna
win MVY. But there in eighth place in the West,
there are two games above five hundred. That's a big
part of your m v P resume. It's not all
(10:48):
of it, but you're you're not gonna see a guy
in eighth place in the West when m v P.
It's just not happening. You know, it's funny because you know,
go back and you look at the title most Valuable Player.
I think this should be more transparency in that in
the definition of most valuable players, the most valuable player
in the league on the best team, or is the
most valuable player for that team for a player on
(11:11):
any team. And I tell you what, there have been guys.
I remember you're looking in the history books back I
think in fifty nine and sixty Earny Banks for the
last place Chicago Clubs when m VP back to back years.
And my question was this, they could finish last without him.
I mean, so, how valuable can he be? Right? And
he put up great numbers, but basically they were in
last place two years in a row and he won
(11:33):
the MVP back to back. It's it's very different in basketball.
You have a lot more influence on wins and losses
in basketball, you know. But the thing is, it's it's
the league MVP. It's not the team m v P.
It's the league MVP. And so yeah, if you are
(11:53):
bawling out, which both Steph Curry and Russell Westbrook are,
there's no doubt about that, but they have they're on
teams that at our eighth and ninth place, respectively. Dud,
You're not gonna win m v P man, It's not
going to happen. It'll be difficult giving it a player
MVP award for a team that doesn't even make the playoffs.
(12:13):
That would be really it would be embarrassing, to be honest.
I mean, but the numbers are ridiculous, they really are.
I mean, well, he pulled down like twenty four boards
I think Westbrook did against the patients. I mean, that's
may What is he six four six three six four?
Come on, well, that's the other part two. You heard
that a lot when he was in Okay, see is
well Steven Adams he boxes out for Westbrook and then
(12:33):
Westbrook after a missed free throw, he just kind of
runs right in and gets the board. You heard that
over and over and over and over again. And okay, fine,
he accumulated a handful of rebounds that way. That wasn't
the reason why he was averaging a triple double. It's
amazing to me the amount of negativity. I really hope this.
(12:53):
I hope that Westbrook towards the end of his career,
I hope he gets the Carmelo Anthony treatment. Remember when
Carmelo Anthony, he was vilified, just harshly criticized earlier in
his career, and since he revived his career with the Blazers,
they were channing before the pandemic his name in opposing
arenas like we want more mellow, you know. I want
(13:16):
to see something like that with Westbrook. I doubt it
will work the same way because they're just isn't the
same love for Westbrook. I can't imagine opposing fan bases
like we want rasper put him back in the game.
But I just hope that he gets appreciated for what
he's done, similar to how Carmelo has with Carmelo moving
(13:37):
up the all time scoring list, he's tenth. Now he's
getting his roses. Westbrook deserves his two, so hopefully he
gets treated in a similar manner. I think Melo's downfall
was playing in New York on a bad team, and
like the New York people, they're ruthless, they really are.
The fans, they're the media, they're just ruthless. And the
fact that he played in Syracuse in one there and
they thought big things would happen, I'm glad. I mean,
let's face the Portland's a little bit off Broadway as
(13:59):
a host to New York. But again, I'd love to
see Westbrook going a good team and make the playoffs
and go deep in the playoffs, and I want to ring.
That's what I like to see the guy do. Really
that that's the key if you don't win in any sport,
if you don't win, you're an afterthought. That's basically what
it's all about. You gotta win. That's it, right, and
its real fast. He's got some gas in the tank.
So I'm curious where he ends up at the end
(14:21):
of his career. Does he end up with the Lakers?
Does he end up on a team where he's got
a real good shot to go deep in the playoffs
and compete for a championship. His career isn't over yet.
That would be really interesting if that's what happens. He
is Brian No. Get him on Twitter at the No Show.
I know the show at Andy Ferman fs R or
eight seven seven ninety nine one Fox. That's our number.
(14:43):
And if you can't figure that out, it's eight seven
seven sixty nine. We got Bronx Stark Radio with the
amazing Chris p In this our bottom barrel betting an
our number two with Vine who is back in the fold,
and of course Brian Noah knows picks and our number three.
But even before the season, it's been a whirlwind for
(15:03):
one quarterback will tell you who he is next. Don't
listening to Fox Sports Radio. So where exactly does he stand? Well,
we'll tell you in just about a minute. And it
is twenty two minutes past the hour. This is Fox
Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio. He is Brian Oah
Andy Ferman. We are proudly brought to you by Discover

Slash Yes, Lson Report limitations apply. Now we go to
my guys favorite sport. I guess I'd say it's the
favorite ball. Ball. It's ball time. It's always ball time, right,
(15:48):
be isn't it? Do you not know me? Andy Furman? Hey,
I go, I know, I know it is ball. It's
to make sure what an offseason for Jimmy g Jimmy
go Appolo it's been rather quiet too about it. Forting
on his quarterback, forting on his trade off for his
possible successor on the third pick of the drift, which
somewhat of a shocker trade lance from North Dakota State.
(16:10):
And you know, really and truly, we've heard other quarterbacks
yelling and screaming, and we'll get to that. I'm shut
down the road today. Uh, some quarterbacks even threatening to
leave and quit. But Jimmy G has been rather quiet
throughout this whole process, taking it like a like a
good trooper, would I guess, yeah, we really haven't heard
much of anything from Jimmy G. Has been very quiet.
(16:31):
So listen. He hasn't earned his place the way Aaron
Rodgers has, so there's some difference right there. For sure.
It'd be interesting to hear Jimmy G. There's a lot
of ifs, you know, if he was older, if he
was later in his career, but he had put up
the numbers, comparable numbers to Aaron Rodgers. I'm really curious
(16:52):
what Jimmy G would be saying right now with them
drafting trade lance. You wish you wish is our command.
Because Jimmy G was talking on the d A Show
when w w w e I Radio just the other day,
and we'll take a listen what Jimmy G how to say.
You never know where you're passing to take you in
the NFL. Uh. I thought I was gonna be in
New England for my entire career. That didn't. That thing
(17:13):
goes as planned. So it's kind of one of those
businesses you just gotten ready for anything, got the on
your toes. I got be able to react and you know,
however the story plays out, you just got be able
to uh run with it. There's been no part of
this that has made you feel uncomfortable or frustrated at all,
had Gimmy, No, not really. It's one of those things
you got roll with the punches and whenever an opportunity
(17:34):
to prevent itself, you've got ready to take advantage of it.
That's kind of what I've done throughout my entire career,
and that's what I'm gonna keep doing. So nothing gonna
be handed to me. I'm gonna be handed to anyone
in this week. Just you gotta go in there and
work interesting. Really again on w e I Radio, Jimmy
G on the d A Show and I would have
to say this that maybe one of the main reasons
to forty Niners we're looking for a quarterback, not so
(17:56):
much of the lack of body of work on Jimmy
G's part, but maybe they want a guy who's but
a little more durable, a little more durable under center.
But Jimmy G has been a little bit frail. Well, yeah,
he's played what thirty one games in four years for
the Niners. That's just not enough. Um, you know that's Uh,
he hasn't played half the games, so he's been banged
(18:18):
up quite a bit. And uh, listen, I respect what
he's saying. What I'm saying, though, is it's not like
Jimmy G has put up these gaudy numbers. I think
it's very easy, or easier at least to be humble
to say, hey, you gotta work for everything that you get,
that type of thing. If Jimmy G had been putting
up numbers that were among the league leaders for a
(18:39):
handful of seasons, I would love to hear what he
would have to say in that situation. If the Niners
just drafted an air apparent, you know, it just changes
the math right there. He might be saying the same
exact thing. I don't know. I don't think so, but
I'm just saying his situation where he is. You know, Andy,
if you look at Jimmy G. His best season was
(19:01):
in touchdowns picks. It's a respectable season. That's his best
by far. That's the only season where he's reached double
digit touchdown passes. So I think it's a lot easier
for Jimmy G to be the guy that says, hey, man,
I get it. You know you gotta work for everything
that you earn, no problem. I just think he'd be
(19:22):
singing another tune. At least that would be what I
would anticipate if he was putting up gaudy numbers. If
it turns into like, I'm Jimmy G. You don't know
who I am? What's up with this? Well, he can't
do that. He just doesn't have the cachet to do that.
At this point in time in his career. He hasn't
done that much. But I will tell you this much,
I get the forty nine is a lot of credit
for at least being opened with Jimmy G about the
process of perhaps getting a quarterback. John Lynch, the general
(19:45):
managed They claim that he kept Jimmy g informed throughout
the entire process. Uh not, unlike what's happened with other
ball clubs. Where are these other quarterbacks that have a
lot of I guess hall of faint potential, want to
have a lot more say in the personnel matters of
ball clubs. Yeah, I think that. Uh it's funny. I
have a random thought of Uh it pops into my head.
(20:06):
Neil Everett, who was one of the Sports Center anchors,
he'll say during the highlights, he'll go, men communicating badly.
Imagine that, you know, if I don't know, say it's
a baseball play and there's a pop up and the
guys just don't communicate at all. It's a flaw. Like
there are a lot of men they're not good at communicating,
and that goes with NFL front offices. I think the
(20:28):
number one example is Aaron Rodgers. If you're drafting Jordan's love,
you at least have to reach out to Aaron Rodgers
and tell them that's what's happening, just as a courtesy
out of respect, instead of him just sipping a lipped
in nice tea or whatever watching the draft and all
of a sudden they move up to take Jordan's Love
and you haven't heard one word about that. That's just
(20:49):
not how you handle your business. And why do you
think the the Green Bay Package Organization didn't do that
to Aaron Rodgers? Well maybe I thought they didn't have to.
It's not in their place. They didn't want to get
involved with him. It was just a mistake on that
part of foolishness and just lack of communication that part.
Why wouldn't they tell him that, I don't know, I
(21:09):
really don't doesn't make any sense. And it went on.
Jay Glazer mentioned that it wasn't just the day of
It went on for a while where they still didn't
communicate with Aaron Rodgers. Well after the fact, they didn't
even tell Matt Lafleur, the head coach, they were drafting
Jordan's Love. How does that happen? Like, that's that's amazing
to me. So, yeah, you have to feel like, so,
(21:34):
what's the deal, right if you're the head coach and
Aaron Rodgers, if they go out and draft Jordan Love
and don't tell anybody, So this is not a good
way to handle your business. Yeah, I don't understand, especially
a guy like Aaron Rodgers, who was basically stubborn to
it to the nth degree. He's that guy. He's steadfast,
and you know we're gonna get into deeper, I'm sure
as we move on throughout the show today. But you know,
(21:55):
I would say that right now, I wouldn't be surprised
if he doesn't play next year. I mean there's been
somebody ports out there that he told free agents don't
bother coming to Green Bay because I don't think I'll
be playing for them next year. Yeah, that's ext I
he's not playing for somebody in one for somebody. I
don't know if it's gonna be Green Bay though, Okay, yeah,
if it's if he's not in Green bad wouldn't be
(22:17):
stunned by that. But it is going to be the
soap opera of soap operas this offseason, and uh yeah,
we'll get into it a little bit more, but a
lot of layers to that one. Man, it is crazy
what's happening in Green Bay right now? Well, I'll tell
you what. And honestly, I mean when the w e
I interview, when DA was talking to Jimmy g about
the New England Pages, he said, I thought maybe a
(22:38):
career would be in New England. I'm not so certain
that basically the fact that New England drafted Mac Jones
from Alabama, that didn't bode well for Jimmy G's even
thought process of going back to New England. That ain't happening, right, Yeah, No,
it's uh And those were linked together for a while
Jimmy G in New England. That's it's a different ballgame
(22:58):
now with Mac Jones and Ount for sure. Right then
we'll see. But you know what, I think Jimmy G
has a shot to, you know, prove himself. There's gonna
be some competition out there. I don't think they're gonna
hand the job over, uh, in the to the rookie
to Lance. I don't think it's his job to lose.
But I think that Jimmy G's gotta fighting chance. But
he's gotta stay healthy. That's the key with him. He's
gotta stay healthy. Yeah, if it gets a weird spot
(23:21):
for him, it's basically address rehearsal for the rest of
the league. Because Trey Lance is the air apparent. The
time is ticking for Jimmy G. Is a starter in
San Francisco, so he's got a chance to start, however,
many games this season. As long as he's healthy and
the team is winning, I don't see them making a change,
sort of like how Mahomes. Mahomes only started one game
(23:41):
his rookie season. And if Jimmy is playing well and
the Niners are winning, They're gonna ride with Jimmy at
least this season for the bulk of it. So he's
got a good opportunity right now, and uh, he's gonna
have to seize it because that affects the position he's
in with another team. That affects the dollars and sense
he gets it affects everything. So it's a huge season
for Jimmy g certainly is Brian no a deferment Fox
(24:03):
Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio, and we're gonna tell
you the real reason this quarterback is unhappy. But first
to a man who's always happy. That's Brian Fenley. But
the latest, oh thank you so much, Andy and Brian.
We begin in the NBA where the Brooklyn Nets extinguish
a four game losing streak by stampeding past the Nuggets
one to one nineteen. Brooklyn fits into that second spot
(24:25):
in the East by half a game over the Bucks,
while the seventies Sixers lead the East by three games.
After hounding the Pistons to one oh four, the Warriors
take a PVC pipe to the Thunder one thirty six
to ninety seven. Stephen Curry funnels out eleven three pointers
forty nine points to be exact as Golden State swings
(24:46):
into that eighth seed in the conference. Damian Lillard coming
up with thirty points as the Trailblazers and gulf the
Spurs one to one oh to Portland's into the sixth
spot in the West, which bumps the Lakers down to seven.
As part of the play in tournament meantime, Russell Westbrook
is desensitizing the lore of reaching a triple double. Westbrook
(25:07):
now left the lane head down, drive, strict, rack, flips, up, shot, bounce, bounce,
pouncing in in Wizards radio network. So with Westbrook's triple
double last night, he ties Oscar Robertson for most in
NBA history. Westbrook thirty three points, nineteen rebounds, fifteen assists
also had a key block at the end of overtime
(25:29):
as the Wizards avert the Pacers one three to one
thirty two. Also, the Jazz blood in the Rockets on
to one oh six. The Dodgers sweat past the Angels
fourteen eleven after l A nearly gagged at thirteen nothing,
lead the White Sox and pale the Royals nine to
one Chicago with eight runs in the first inning. The
Blue Jays ponying up to Jacks to stump the Astros
(25:51):
eight to four. The Brave swerve past the Phillies eight
to seven, and twelve innings, the Mets blank of the
Diamondbacks four to two to improve to eight and four
at home in the Rangers throw out a runner at
home to get that final out in a nine to
eight win against the Mariners. With that, we sent it
back to Brian no in any Furman who in his
little league baseball days was a sure route at the plate?
(26:15):
Who's that Brian on me? You okay, that's just just
just double checking, all right. I mean it's obvious to you, right,
I know what it is obvious, but I want to
make sure you make sure a right seeing it. Now. Hey, hey,
this is the best battle of the off season, and
that's right around the corner. He is Brian no I'm
Andy Furman. Bronk Stalk Radio with the amazing Chris p
in about seven eight minutes for now. But Aaron Rodgers
(26:36):
is at the forefront right now, even on Draft Day,
and I think that announcement was made like two pm
Eastern time prior to the draft. No coincidence. I think
was planned obviously to kind of overtake the draft news,
and certainly in some extent it did. And the big
reason Aaron Rodgers once out of Green Bay unhappy with
the front of office. One report says he zero chance.
He turns to the package list that g M. Brian
(26:58):
Goodness is gone and the battle is bigger than Russell
Wilson DeShawn Watson, you know. And look, I understand why
he just trust is general manager. I mean lack of
respect with this drafting of of the quarterback on the
on the draft of a year ago, and I don't
think it was right at Jordan's Loves situation. I mean,
it's ridiculous, but you know it bothered him and it's
(27:18):
a lack of respect to a future Hall of Famer.
Well it is, but uh, it's funny because it works
both ways. I understand that Aaron Rodgers is incredibly popular
with that franchise for obvious reasons. He's been a baller,
he's a three time m v P, but he's not
exactly helping this situation. Remember the report earlier this week
where there was a group text message and he was
(27:41):
calling out Gouda Konston comparing him to Jerry Krauss, the
old boat executive, And there was not a compliment at all.
He was basically saying, this guy steaks and uh, look, um,
it's not like Aaron Rodgers is unifying the packers, you know.
It's not like he's this driving force towards success or
(28:04):
something like that. I understand that he's miffed, but I'm
just saying he contributes to the current situation. Also, it's
not like he's being uh, I don't know, very It's
not like you're showing great leadership in this one. That's
type of thing. But a lot of people will side
with him because he's the star player and he's the
popular guy. It's just he's part of the dysfunction right
(28:27):
now too, no doubt, right. I think one of the
reasons I think that it's even worse not the fact
that they drafted Jordan's love, the fact that a He
wasn't involved in the talks, we didn't know about it.
But now you look at the Chicago Bears, they let
Andy Dalton know. According to Reportion, they let him know
that he might think that they may take a quarterback
in the draft. Dalton never even played it down with
the Chicago Bears, but the Bears still felt that they
(28:49):
needed to be transparent and tell him that they may
take a quarterback, and they did for Justin Fields. So
I think that when Aaron Rodgers says that Andy dolet's
not even in my league, and they're letting him know
they're gonna take a quarterback, why can't my team tell
me that they're gonna take a quarterback. Yeah, it's just
a courtesy. It's it's good business. And look I look
(29:11):
at it. It's almost like breaking up in a way.
Now follow me. It's just the dynamic of it where
they'll say there's no good way to break up, but
there are worse ways than others, you know what I mean. Like,
if you the relationship is over, it's one thing to
you know, be respectable and say you meet in person,
(29:33):
you go through it, you know, you work it out,
and then you move on. It's different than if you
just send a text message and just say, you know what,
what we had was cool, but it's over by and
you just go to the other person forever. That's just
not a good way to handle it. So there's no
perfect way to do it. It's gonna be uncomfortable. It's
going to be the outcome that both parties don't really want,
(29:53):
especially the one getting dumped. But right like, there's there's
a way to handle drafting a orderback. And even though
it wouldn't have been perfect all across the board and
Aaron Rodgers would be like, hey, sounds great, thumbs up
if they just reached out and called him, but it's
the better way to handle it. The way they handled
it was just brutal. You know, it's gonna be really
(30:14):
amazing to see what happens right now and see if
he shows up to these O t A s and
even playing in the preseason exhibition games. I mean, if
he doesn't show up, I mean, and they got to
unload them. They just can't let him sulk and not
show up. So they're gonna have to probably train and
make a deal to get get rid of him. But
you know, really, right now, I'm gonna ask who on
(30:35):
this side of the coin. Who's the who's the bad guy?
Is it Aaron Rodgers or is it the Green Bay Packers?
I mean, who is the bad guy in this situation?
Obviously Aaron Rodgers has all the bullets in the chamber.
He's got it all, he really does. But who is
the bad guy in this situation? I have to say
right now, if you have to take a polling of
the fans in the Green Bay area that route for
the Packers, probably the bad guy in this situation is
(30:56):
the Green Bay Packers. Although you can't point the finger
to really anyone was that team is owned by the community.
There's no real owner of that book club. Yeah that
doesn't matter though, and this what you're asking that doesn't
have anything to do with it. But yeah, they're gonna
if there's a poll, who's more to blame for the
Packers situation? Brian Goodakoots or Aaron Rodgers. It's gonna be
(31:16):
Goody by a landslide if they're gonna look at it.
And it was. It was a stupid draft pick. I
don't know why you draft Jordan's Love when Aaron Rodgers
was still playing at a high level. He's barely throwing
any interceptions for the two years before Jordan's Love was drafted,
so I thought it didn't make any sense. Aaron Rodgers
clearly had a lot of gas left in the tank,
(31:40):
and it defeats the whole concept of drafting a rookie quarterback.
You draft a rookie so that when he's on his
rookie deal, you can fill out the roster. When you
have all this money at your disposal, you know, it
makes no sense to have your rookie quarterback just righting
the pine. And that's the situation where we're in right now,
and it could very well be the main reason Aaron
(32:02):
Rodgers once out. It's just it was a brutal idea
at the time and looks way worse now with Aaron
Rodgers wanting out seemingly. So, yeah, it started with the
front office drafting Jordan's Love. And it's almost like the
four by one relay, and it's like Aaron Rodgers just
took the baton from the first leg and he's starting
(32:23):
to run with it now. But it started with the
Packers drafting Jordan's Love. Well, apparently the Packers of making
some inroads, are trying to make some in Rows at
least to readjust his contract to uh give him some
leeway on the contract right now, which I guess it
maybe too little, too late. But my question is this,
why wasn't need that upset a year ago when Love
(32:45):
was drafted? Why now that I don't understand. Why did
he wait this long for the fact to go crazy
and say he's not gonna play for them anymore? Why
did it take so long? I mean, I think a
lot of it was go back to last year and
do you think about them losing to Tampa Bay and
the NFC Championship came, That's what thirty one to twenty
six Aaron Rodgers nos. If they use their first round
(33:08):
pick on a guy that's on the field and contributing,
maybe that's the difference with them beating Tampa, getting to
the Super Bowl and maybe winning it. So it drives
you even crazier. So yeah, I think that was a
big part of it. I think it created a chip
on his shoulder last year where Aaron Rodgers went out
there and absolutely balled out. He had an insane season
(33:31):
and he was absolutely there was some extra motivation with
him drafting Jordan's Love, but with them missing out on
getting to the Super Bowl. I think it just it
changed the dynamic where Bowl That that probably right? Look
at look at how Tampa surrounded Tom Brady and it
was just hey, we've got Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
(33:51):
Oh you want Antonio Brown. Sure, let's go out and
get Antonio Brown. Remember Bruce Arians he was on radio saying,
now he's not a good fit, He's not gonna be
in Tampa. All of a sudden he's in Tampa because
Tom Brady wants him there. They the organization did with
Tom Brady wanted them to do. And Aaron Rodgers wants
that also, right, and he should, you know, I mean
he's got the he's got the background, he's got the workload.
(34:13):
I mean, he's got it all. It's a future Hall
of Fame. And listen to the guy. I don't know.
We'll see what happened. I mean, we'll get into this
a little deeper later on, but right now he is
Brian No, I'm Andy Ferman in the Battle of the
Bronx is more of a vocal thing. I will prove
it because Bronx Talk radio is freaking Next. You're listening
to Fox Sports Radio Bronx Talk Radio coming right out
(34:37):
that twelve. Then is Peole at the top of the hour.
This is Fox Sports Sunday Hayes, Brian No many firma.
Right now, let's go to the Bronx, guys. It's time
to channel your inner New York. Here. We want to
hear all the rationalities you can spew on the hottest
(34:58):
topics of the day. Here's something we like to call
Bronze Talk Radio, posted by the Great Crispy freaking hate
to start here, but we got to start with the Mets.
It's always a bad day when I have to start
with the Mats. It's it's not like you got a head,
could do the freaking stories. It's all about you. How
(35:19):
you feeling today. Absolutely not, I have to talk about
the Mats. We have to talk about the Mets and
what may or may not. Lindore and McNeil saw in
a freaking hallway over here. So let's city field, right,
Linda McNeil, they seem to get into something. They run
into the hallways and they just start yelling and who knows.
But later on this is what Lindore says. It says
(35:41):
it was over a freaking rat over here. I told him.
I was like, hey, I've never seen a New yr rat,
so we wouldn't down sprinting. I want to go see
a New Yor rat. And he got mad at me.
He's like, no, it's not a rat, is it coon.
I'm like, yeah, hell no, man, it's a damn rat.
It's a New York rat. Man. I was just crazy
because we were going back up for the way, who
was a rat with raccoon? I don't believe it. You
(36:04):
don't believe it. I think there was some fisticuffs there.
I really believe that, because other players are running down
they can. Florida was down there checking them out too.
I think there was something going on. I don't think
it was. Although there's a lot of rats in New York.
You know that, I'm doing a show with two of
them right now, and some even talk why is Chris's
(36:25):
health and national secret? This morning? Andy, I don't know
about that. You know, it's very want to talk about
rats because maybe it's a social disease. He's got a
social disease. I think I don't know what's going on
over there. But yeah, you call fisticuffs on this one.
You called bologny. You call bs on the guys. They
got into it on the field a little bit right,
a little miscommunication the groundball to shortstop. Lindoor wasn't very
(36:46):
happy with how McNeil handled it. So maybe a little bruhaha. Possibly,
I don't know. You might be right about that, Andy,
I'm not sure. Let no, but could flid Will come
out down the road. Maybe could Florida went down there
to separated? Might think that's what I think. Listen, I
seen some pretty big rats in the day of the
non talking variety. I don't think I've ever mistook one
for a freaking raccoon over here. This whole story is
(37:08):
just bs, just ridiculous. I don't know, I see them
pretty big freaking rats, and you know New York in
d C, you could possibly mistaken it. It's the freaking
coloring pattern on the you know, yes, you know what
a raccoon is. When you see a freaking raccoon over here.
Raccoons are not ordering pizza. Rats sometimes order freaking pizza
(37:29):
over here and drag that piece of pizza down to
the freaking subway. I will I agree with you, but
I will say, if there's one city where a rat
could be mistaken for a raccoon here. Baby, it's a
big Yes, this place is why. I also like, is
the stupid story overtook? Yeah? Yeah, It's like the Mets
(37:52):
are like drowning out the Yankees over here. I hate them.
I hate them so much. Not they're not a real
baseball team. Why do we even allow them to even
have residents in this freaking city over here? You know,
we got we got good things going on. We got
the Yankees come back winning, We've got the Island is
in the freaking playoff nets and Nick's going to the playoffs.
(38:12):
These guys are over here over freaking A lot of
people that felt upset when the Giants and the Dodges left.
They went to the West a hundred years old. That's
when they came with the Meds because they wanted to
replace those two teams. There's a lot of people are
crying about it. You just tremendous. I just want to
say that, right, it's not Yankee Stadium. What are you doing?
(38:35):
The amenities? It's beautiful over there. You have been the
city Field. It's my favorite stadium in baseball. It's amazing magnificence.
Are you freaking high if you ever been to Candy Odds.
I've never been to candid It blow City feed Away
got me over here. I don't know what's going on.
(38:56):
Like Mike for Incess has bad at all of you guys.
You know the King's gonna I'm down to execute all
of you. Anyway, speaking of executions, you see the fight
last night though Hunt Canelo, Canello taken out Saunders over
there at CTL. He's throwing bombs over there, Chris Business, Haymakers, Haymakers.
What is that? Like Saunders? Like, who is this guy? Like?
(39:19):
Who's undefeated? That's who he is? Yeah, I know it's unification,
big freaking whoop. What is Cannello gonna do next? Is
a Triple G? Again? Like I want to see this
guy do some big stuff. That's the problem is you
don't have the big name guys. Triple G is probably
one of the biggest. Of course, Floyd Mayweather is the
one guy who gave him an l. But you don't
have that that big competition. Think back in the day
when it was Sugar Ray Lennard and Hagler and Herds
(39:41):
and all those guys make guys big names. You don't
have that with Canello right now. You guys are going
back to the stone ages over here, but it is
who's the big name? Now? He's right, he's writing of
stones and ages. Do you see this? I was reading
the international papers this morning. Did you know this? That
apparently the border between bell Jim and France was changed
(40:01):
this weekend? This week? Did you see this? Didn't? It
was done by a freaking farmer over here? A farmer
in Belgium accidentally changed the borders between his country and France.
There used to be old stone markers that would denote
the border between those two countries. But one of him
he is fun of his freaking tractor over here, and
like any good guys, like, what the what is this
thing doing in front of my tractor? I'm gonna move it.
(40:23):
And by moving it, he has now given Belgium an
additional seven and a half feet of territory. Really, by
the way, I have a quick story involving Belgium. It's
real fast for me think of it. So I was,
I was looking for the forty nine stadium. This is
years ago, way before GPS, and I lean over. There's
a guy park next to me, and I go, hey, man,
(40:44):
you know where the stadium is? And he goes, I'm
from Belgium, and I'm like, I guess that's a no. Right,
there was a farmer. I'm not sure. Fox Sports Radio
has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. All
of our shows at Fox Sports Radio dot com and

to listen live. If he thought it was cold, now
let him try this. That's next. But first it's time
to say Happy Mother's Day and wake up, Wake up everybody,
Wake up America. It is that time. That is Fox
Sports Sunday. Yes, thank you very much. Hey is Brian
No Amandy Ferminent. Now it's the time of the day
(41:27):
that I love. It's time to just my partner, my friend,
the brains of the outfit, the man who carries the load.
Here's the hottest working man and sports talk radio today.
Bar none prove be wrong on that. His name is
Mr Brian No. Hello, b How are you Happy Mother's
Day to your mom? Well, thank you, Andy, and yes,
(41:50):
absolutely glad to be with you here. Happy Mother's Day
to all the moms out there. And uh yeah my mom,
I adore her. She is amazing. And uh I'm sad
that I'm not there in person. But I'll definitely be
calling her today and we will raise the roof via
the telephone. How about that for you. We're gonna go
(42:10):
crazy via the phone. Huh. Remember back in the day,
and you may not remember back in it, but back
in the day on Mother's Day, you couldn't even get
on the phones because they were so crowded. They were
so busy with people calling their mom's cross country and
it was like they think they had the promotion way
back in the day when I was a kid. I
think they reduced the cost of long distance calls because
(42:31):
a Mother's Day Now, I mean, what, there's nothing that
there's no long distance. I mean, you got a cell phone,
you call anywhere in the world. But back in the day,
it's like long distance. When you called on the so
called rotary phone from home, there was a long distance call.
If it was out of your reach, what would happen?
And it was there just a busy signal. It didn't
go through what they was operated with it we interrupt
this call. I mean you could call back later lines
(42:52):
of jam lines. Yeah, it's crazy, but it's amazing how
much didn't changed. Oh and it changes like overnight and
you go back and say, wow, remember when it's it's great,
It really is nuts, it's crazy and things have just
evolved over the years, and just to tell the communications
and technology, it's just it's great, but I have to
go out a whole thing, but it does. It reminds
(43:13):
me of my nephews where they're eighteen and sixteen now,
but when they were growing up. We've been in the
cell phone age throughout their lives, you know, And I'll
never forget my sisters saying hang up the phone and
they're looking at her like, what does that even mean?
They have no idea, and you have to go through
the whole thing like, oh, you don't know what. We
once had phones. They were on the wall and you
(43:35):
would literally hang the phone up and they're like, oh
cool news to us. Had no idea, but some of
the terminology we just think it's you know, it's common knowledge.
It isn't there A lot of people have no idea
what half these terms even mean. My kids can't believe
that when I was a kid, I had to get
up off my rear rent to change the channel on
the TV side. That's that great? Yeah, oh yeah, that's amazing.
(43:58):
It really is. By the way I've been. I'm in
the market for a new TV Andy because one of
my TVs broke and I got the insurance money for it.
Four K. What do you know about four K? Is
that the way to go? I know it's will more
ca than three K. That's about it. That's all I
know about that. I don't know about that. You got
hears the wrong guy. You know. Call my son Jake.
He's a genius with this stuff. He's a he's a
(44:20):
computer whiz. He knows all that. A matter of fact,
he buys all that. He did buy all the TV's
in our house. He knew which ones are the better
ones or whatever. So he does all that stuff. And
when it comes to computers and telecommunication and technology, I
leave it on Jake Ferman. He's the go to guy.
He's okay, maybe I'll reach out to him and find
out You call him anytime. I'll give you his number
of the year. No problem. Okay. Now we move on
(44:41):
and talk about evolving. I mean the one guy. I
mean this, This story is evolving in Green Bay, the
story and sports even on Draft Not. It continues the
Aaron Rodgers saga, will he a won'ty? Maybe he'll be
the Jeopardy host. I don't know. I mean, he very
very well throws something crazy out at you real fast
any time you want to Just just it crossed my
mind on a very secondary level, does this have anything
(45:05):
to do with Jeopardy? I mean, just anything. Is this
a any press is good press type thing? You know?
I know, this isn't the motivation why Aaron Rodgers is
on a group chat reportedly with his teammates and saying
that Kuda koons it's like Jerry Krauss and any any
of the layers, right, it's about his situation with Green
(45:25):
Bay primarily. But on a secondary level, how much do
you hear about the guest hosts from Jeopardy? What's the
big news about Joe Buck right now? You know, what's
the big headline about LaVar Burton or anybody else? No? Wat,
I had no idea what Joe Buck's gonna be a
guest host? Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah every week now
(45:47):
they have a ton of them, right, and Aaron Rodgers
absolutely wants to be the full time host. I mean,
does it cross your mind does this have anything to
do with keeping his name at the forefront not only
in football, but in the entertain mint industry. I don't know,
because no, it's a great thing. And more than that,
Jeopardy did say that they wanted a guy that would
be full time. So obviously he's gonna be the host
(46:09):
of Jeopardy. He's not playing football. No, no, no no, no,
they didn't they say that, but they only did only football,
for sure. They for it's basically like a couple of
months out of a year. I think that you could
have twenty three days and they do like three shows
a day or something. They just crank him out. He
could do both, you know, you you talk about the
situation right now, I mean, you see, maybe he could
(46:30):
be with the Denver Broncos. And Broncos right now was
like the hopeful wayward quarterbacks just as to pay with
Peyton Manning. Look, they didn't drift a quarterback. They got
Teddy Bridgewater from the Panthers for compensation. And that they
got that the competition now for Drew Lock. I don't
think Drew Locks gonna make it in the NFL. But
here's the thing, and I don't think anybody's talking about it.
I really feel for Jordan's Love. Jordan's Love is the
(46:50):
guy Basically, it's just so cold villain because people in
Green Bay probably say, oh, of course to you, because
they drifted you. That's why Aaron Rodgers gonna leave. He
hasn't said boo, not even as you said boo. We've
never seen him play. He's never suited up. He's never
played in the preseason game. I mean at least when
Brett Fahr was playing for the Green Bay Packers, and
even Rodgers was on the roster. There are people who
(47:10):
saw him in scouting reports and the practices. They see
this guy's got some talent. No one knows. To think
about Jordan's love, well, yeah, And you make a good point.
He is in a rough rough spot because let's just
say Aaron Rodgers is done with the Packers. Let's say
he never plays another down again. There are a lot
of people who believe that will be the case. If
Jordan's love takes over man. You talk about being in
(47:34):
a rough spot, there will be a lot of fans
that look at Jordan's love is the reason Aaron Rodgers
isn't there. And all he did was sit on his
couch drafting and be like, Okay, I guess the Packers
are taking me. He hasn't done anything wrong. But if
you talk about this could be Jordan's love show in
it's possible. And you're taking the reins from the m
(47:55):
v P who threw forty eight touchdowns and you're a
first year star in quarterback, good luck. You know you
are used to this high standard. Aaron Rodgers is obviously
one of the best quarterbacks in football, so there are
fans that expect a comparable level of play. That is
not going to be easy if indeed he takes over
(48:16):
as the first year started. That's a rough spot to
be and may not be a bad move if from
Jordan's loves agent to say, maybe you need to go
public and just say, look, I'm I was looking forward
to learning from Aaron Rodgers. He's probably smart just keeping
his mouth because I wish you would go public and
say something, because then you got some meat and you
could dissect it in various manners. What can you really say, Well,
(48:40):
you could say I was hoping that Aaron would play
here because I'd like to learn under his tutelage. I mean,
that's basically a way to go. But I think Aaron
Rodgers would come right back and say, wait, a minute.
I ain't tutoring him for anything. This is my job. Yeah,
I just think anything, it's probably better to lay low
um for love situation, for the situation with Rogers. If
(49:02):
he says something like, hey, it's I don't know which
way it's gonna go, but I'm ready. I'm prepared just
in case that could be taking it away of Oh
look at this guy. He's ready to take the reins
and he wants Rogers out of here. And we're just
in soap opera mode, you know. So anything he puts
out there, I think it's gonna be twisted. Right. But
(49:22):
getting back to the Denver Broncos and general manager Jod
Payton said that this is on the NFL network, that
he made a clear to Denver and may still be
looking at Aaron Rodgers. And obviously they went after Russell Wilson.
That's not gonna happen. But there's a possibility that not
only would they get Aaron Rodgers, that Green Bay may
have to unload Aaron Rodgers. Well it's gonna be uh.
(49:43):
I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know how
it's going to work out. What I do know is
this Andy, I think that green Bay is the best
spot for him in terms of if he's pursuing a
Super Bowl. I know we look at it from the
negative point of view, which is or the critical point
of view, which is why do you draft Jordan Love?
But it goes beyond that. It's You've got a lot
(50:05):
of talent. You've got Davante Adams, You've got Robert Tunyan,
You're a thirteen and three team that was a game
away from the Super Bowl last year. So supporting cast wise,
that division, look at it. The Lions think the Bears
and the Vikings are okay, but green Bay is clearly
the class of that division. You hear all these rumors
about other teams like the Broncos, the Raidas. Look at
(50:28):
that division. If you went to Denver, that's a good
spot for him. But you're in the same division as
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Herbert and the Chargers are
gonna be a better team this year. That's a much
tougher division than where he's at right now. So I
just think if his goal is let's get a Super
Bowl here, I want to get my second ring. I
think green Bay is the best spot for him. I'm
(50:50):
gonna underline one of the wards you just said goal.
I don't know. I don't think anyone really knows what
his goal is. But loose if the fact he patches
Bedge up and goes to Denver, it would just be
a move to say I told you so and give
them the middle finger. That's why he's going there. But
it's not gonna be the win because you're not gonna
win Denver. You're exactly right. So we don't know what
his goal really is. If his goal is to win
(51:12):
the Super Bowl, you're right, he should stay in Green Bay.
But they gotta patch things up. I don't know. If
they can't patch things up, maybe they're two Bay. But
although if they fire the g M then things will be.
But here's the thing, Andy, his goal is obviously to win.
He wouldn't be this bent out of shape if his
goal wasn't to win. But if it goes to Denver
in the trade, then maybe he'll just pack it in
and quit na. No, I don't I don't think so, man.
(51:34):
But um, for a second, if you just look at
the layer of Denver, what are they doing? What are
you doing? Like you have Drew Lock, you trade for
Teddy Bridgewater. You have Justin Fields and mac Jones on
the board. You don't have to trade up at all
ninth overall, you don't have a franchise quarterback. You have
(51:59):
two guys. Ustin Fields would be in the conversation to
be the number one overall pick in most years, not
involved in Trevor Lawrence and he falls to ninth and
you're like, let's take a corner. What are you doing? What?
I can't believe that? And then you hear from a
lot of Broncos fans, Well, I mean they their plan
is probably to get Aaron Rodgers. They might get Rogers.
We don't even know if Rogers is going to be
(52:20):
traded that Wilson then they couldn't get him. So believe me,
they're not gonna get Aaron Rodgers. I don't see that happening.
But the two headed Teddy Bridgewater Drew Lock quarterback monster.
What are you doing? Drew Lock was tied with Carson
Wentz for the most picks last year through the most interceptions.
We can't underestimate the stink factor that has been Drew
(52:43):
Locked thus far. He's been brutal. I would say this
if I was a general manager in the National Football League.
I would take a chance on a college quarterback any
day of the week after I had a guy like
a Drew Lock knowing that, look, I saw what you
could do in the NFL. I'm not too happy. I'm
not to please. I'm take gonna shot. I'd rather the
gamble and take a chance on someone here that may
(53:04):
may developed something. That's someone who had the opportunity. And basically,
like tell you, I hate to say it to your
face to face, you failed. You failed all day long.
You have got to keep rolling the dice. You have
to find a franchise quarterback in this league. We say
it time and time again because it's the truth. And
if you don't have one, you're not gonna be a
(53:25):
consistent Super Bowl threat. It's just the way it goes.
So for the Broncos to not have to trade up,
do you realize the price tag in most years you
would have to spend. If the Broncos let's say they
win some more games this year and they're in the
team's drafting wise, let's say the fifteen in the pecking order,
do you know that price tag to move up to
(53:46):
ninth overall to get a quarterback like that's a lot
of draft capital and they didn't have to move up
at all. I don't know if Justin Fields turns out
to be a stead but I do know he's talented
enough to at least roll the dice on him, and
they didn't do that. They are one of a few
teams that are going to be absolutely kicking themselves if
Fields turns out to be the real deal and they
(54:07):
still don't have a quarterback here exactly right, he's Brian No.
He usually is right. You get him on Twitter at
the No Show. We'll read the tweets, we promise we'll
read tweet him at Andy Ferman f s a same
thing here or eight seven seven ninety nine Fox love
to hear some some some people from Green Bay, from
the Wisconsin area. Eight seven seven sixty nine. We got
on a barrel betting in this hour and Brian No
(54:28):
one knows picks in our number three. But did ye
hear what one NFL general manager I have to say
about the vaccine? That's next. You're listening to Fox Sports.
His comments earned them a phone call. We'll explain that
in just about a minute twenty one minutes past the hour,
Fox Sports Sunday on Fox spots Ready, he is Brian No,
(54:50):
I'm Andy Ferman. And by the way, yeah play that
Earth Wind and Fire play Yeah. I love him. Fan,
you're a fan over there? I love Earth Winning Fire.
Who else is on the playlist for you? Huh? Who
are the go to artists? Musicians? Temptations, four Tops? Really? Oh? Yes,
stylistics love it, love it? The Hall of Fame and
(55:14):
I've been there. Yes, what do you think I was impressed?
I was. I was impressed. I was not impressed that
it's in Cleveland, but I was impressed by the way.
I couldn't help but think about Joachim Noah during the
NFL Draft when they're showing ESPN SAT NFL Network set
(55:36):
and the background is just hideous weather, at least for
the first couple of rounds, overcast, rainy, the whole thing.
You know, Cleveland is very similar to Russell Westbrook. What
do I mean by that? It's not a bad city,
but it gets a bad rap. They Russell is a
hell of a player, but he doesn't get the respect.
You just trashed Cleveland in a sense. Yes, but Cleveland
(56:00):
people remember when they said the river was on fire?
Remember way back when and they really rebuilt it downtown.
They got the flat. It's not bad, but in the
minds of many Cleveland it's a convenient punching back. It
certainly is there. We go by the way. We probably
brought you by Discover because Discovered matches all the cash
(56:20):
back you were on your credit card at the end
of your first year. It's amazing because discovers, except at
places in the US that take credit cards, learn more,
discovered dot com, slash yes, tellson report limitations apply. And
now we have someone who opened his mouth, opened the
pie hole, and maybe he's sorry he did. I'm talking
(56:40):
about Brandon being the general manager of the Buffalo Bills.
He made some comments, either did I until he made
these comments, made some comments about the cowed vaccine, and
it got him a call from the NFL office. He
said in an interview I think was on One Bill's
Live the other day. He said it could be an
advantage now to cut an unvaccinated player in order to
fall under the umbrella of a potential NFL rule. And
(57:02):
he said that because if you don't, it's gonna look
more like last year. And he makes a lot of sense. Really,
you don't want to have what happened last year, cancelations, postponements,
guys are not not able to play the testing every
single day. But he went public with it, and the
NFL said, uh no, no, yeah, stupid to go public with.
(57:22):
He literally said, he's like, hey, I'd cut him. And
then he talked about the socially distanced meetings that they
had last year, and he's like, hey, one meetings over here,
the other meeting, we're talking over one another. It's a calamity,
the whole thing. We get that, but to literally put
it out there, yeah, we're gonna cut unvaccinated players. That's
(57:43):
just we're not there. We're not there yet, you know,
and you've got a players association. They're going to fight
on the behalf of the players. He can't put that
out there. You would listen, if you cut an unvaccinated
player and that's the real reason, you would just say, yeah,
we were loaded at that position. You know, he was sixth,
(58:04):
our seventh cornerback and we just didn't have roster space
or whatever. You come up with any reason. But if
the true reason is he's not vaccinated, well you don't
say it. I can't believe he put it out there
like that. I can't believe because, look, he makes a
great point is if you have ex percentage of your
players and staff vaccinated, you could live normal. Let's just
(58:25):
call it the way they just said is be back
to the old days. And he's right. And if he
didn't open his mouth and he did cut some unvaccinated players,
no one would know. Maybe an investigative reporter would say, well,
maybe what's going on there in Buffalo there were three
guys that were cutting all those guys. I don't think
anybody would even know. I think people are basically lazy.
I don't think the report is gonna find out or
(58:45):
even ask if a guy's vaccinated or not. And more
from than not, the players not gonna be forward and
tell him that I've been vaccinated or not. So he
could have gotten away with it. And it really was
not a bad idea because, let's face it, those zoom
meetings didn't do much for players last year with the
coaching stiff. I don't think you can get get a
lot done on a zooming. Well, look, man, we all
know it's to a team's benefit if their players are vaccinated.
(59:09):
There are looser restrictions. You don't have to be massed
up the whole time. You don't have to be tested galore,
you don't have to have these socially distanced and virtual meetings.
There are a lot of advantages to it. So I
totally understand why a team would want their players to
be vaccinated. Jerry Jones has said something similar with the Cowboys,
where he would strongly encourage it. That makes all the
(59:30):
sense in the world. But Brandon Bean he took it
to another level and when he was like, yeah, and
if they're not vaccinated, see you, that's just to put
it out there like that. I don't know. Sometimes you
get so comfortable on a radio show you forget that
other people can hear it. It's almost like your in
your basement with your buddies or something like that. You
can't do that like that out there. Man, there's a
(59:51):
players association that's going to fight on the behalf of
the players. Well, let's go to the other side of
the coin now. No, he he said that he would
think of cutting unvaccinated player. I get it. I understand
why why he said it publicly. He's a he's an idiot,
who Okay, But then you go back to the Erie
County of New York, Erie County, Upstate New York, and
Buffalo is Uh. Their executive says that fans that attend
(01:00:12):
the Bills games this season are required to be vaccinated.
So it's almost the other side of the coin, like,
what if there's gonna be a lawsuit. There's gonna be
some guy who's got season tickets and not vaccinated, and
he's gonna go to the gate. They're gonna ask for
a proof. He said, I don't have it. I want
to get in, and he's gonna sue and so well, look,
I had COVID, I got the antibodies in my system.
I didn't want to get a vaccinated. Or a woman
(01:00:33):
is gonna say I'm not getting vaccinated with some fearful
of being pregnant and something happened in my pregnancy. I'm
telling you this is not gonna be good. It's gonna
blow up. Yeah. Maybe he might be right about that,
but listen, I'm not a lawyer. I don't know all
of the legal ease and uh, the hoops to jump
through and all of that. But they're going to be
(01:00:54):
a lot of businesses. They can refuse the business of people,
and if one of their stipulations is, Hey, you want
to come in and eat an omelet, great, well you
gotta be vaccinated. They're gonna be a lot of places
that have that in place. And so with the Buffalo Bills,
you're right, you have to show proof that you're vaccinated
to get into a Bills game. At least that's the
(01:01:14):
way it's set up right now heading into the season.
So yeah, look, you've had many people in terms of
like suing teams with the tickets, the availability of tickets,
and for any reason under the sun. So yeah, I'm
sure someone's gonna give it a go and try to
sue the team. I just don't know if they have
any actual legal grounds to do so. And I'm I'm
(01:01:36):
certainly the underworld right now is looking their chops and say,
you know what, we're moving to Buffalo because we're gonna
start printing these counterfeit vaccination cards. They're gonna do it.
I mean, they're out in the public right now. They
are selling I've seen it on the news. They're selling
vaccination cars that are counterfeit and the phony and people
are gonna buy them. They'll buy them on the on
the internet, whatever it may be. And I can't see
(01:01:58):
anybody buying them and risking a lawsuit or a law final,
or a jail or final or both to go to
a football game. To me, it doesn't make any sense.
But there are people out there that will do it.
Oh gosh, Yeah, there are many that would do it.
There plenty of football fans that do wild things. It's
my favorite sport by far. I love me some hoops
(01:02:19):
also andy, but in other sports too, but football is
number one, and there are some people they go from
passionate to knucklehead. There's another setting there for a lot
of football fans, so certainly there will be some fake
ideas floating around. I will say this to take this
step to another level. I'm talking about the vaccine right now.
I am not in the camp of people being bribed
(01:02:42):
to take the vaccine. If you don't want to take it,
God bless you. I mean, that's fine. I would think
that you'd want to take it because I think the
positives outweigh the negatives. But if you don't want to
take it, that's your deal. You don't want to do that.
But when you stop buying, like the state of West Virginia,
I think they're giving out savings bonds. If you get
a vaccine, if you've got to a since not the
Ridge game during the week of the month of June. Uh,
(01:03:02):
they get a ticket for ten dollar ten dollar ticket
if you show you a vaccination card. Stop with the bribery.
People are gonna either do it or not do it.
They don't have to be brought to do it. That's
what my thing is. I mean they had to deal
at the Paul Brown Stadium last Sunday in Cincinnati, they
had like five thousand doses of the vaccine. I think
they ended up with extra doses because people didn't show.
(01:03:25):
It's free. You just show up and you get a
vaccine shot. They didn't do it. I don't understand why
they're not doing it, but that's their prerograt If you
don't want to do it, don't do it. I'm on
the complete opposite side of you. I understand what you're
saying completely, but this idea of like, hey, you don't
want to drink, that's fine, you want to smoke, that's cool,
whatever you want to do. Like, the only way to
get out of this people get vaccinated. There's a global
(01:03:49):
pandemic for us to reach her immunity. You have to
get vaccinated, so if you don't, you are prolonging the
whole thing. I agree with you, So I don't therapy
unless you have medical like you have legitimate reasons. Fine,
but if it's just no, yeah, it's not for me.
Not good enough, not a good enough reason in my book. Sorry,
(01:04:11):
But you know what, you can't You can't lead a
cow to milk, water, or whatever it may be. It's
the same thing. What do you do that guy? Just
want to do it? You did? You put enough restrictions
in place. You do what the bills are doing all
over the place. Hey, you want to go to this location,
Well great, you gotta be vaccinated. You want to go
to this concert, Oh cool, you gotta be vaccinated. You
want to go here, here, here, here, here, you gotta
(01:04:33):
be vaccinated. You want to plane, gotta be vaccinated. That's
the way to think of the carrot. That's the way
it's got to be for people to be urged to do. So.
I'd love to see everybody get it. They basically wiped
out polio in this country. Why because everybody took the vaccine.
And you can lead a horse to water, but you
can't make them drink. Thank you. Then A, I didn't
know what the exact terminology was, right, the best, that's
(01:04:55):
the best. How you kidding me? Helped me out? Lead
me to water? Then A, because I have no idea,
I can't drink it either. But you're right, I mean,
put the restrictions on there and everybody will take it.
But it's funny because you know vaccine. I don't know
what the big deal is, Polio gone, smallpox con Why
are these diseases gone because of vaccines? That's why it's
just so funny, real fast, Andy is I just remember
(01:05:17):
Michigan and people, you know, protesting outside of the you know,
the offices for the restrictions for you know, not being
able to go out of your house and all of that.
And now it's swung the other way where there are
vaccines on the market and there are plenty of people
who are like, no, I'm not gonna take this. Like
some of those people, I guarantee were the first people
(01:05:39):
out there protesting having to stay at home. And now
you're not gonna get vaccinated. You can what to do?
You know what they're telling you to wear seatbelt in
your car? Aren't they same thing? I mean, I don't
understand the thinking of either what I tell you, what
I tell He's Brian no on Andy Furman, this is Fox.
(01:06:00):
What's something on Fox Boats Radio? Is it possible? Is
it possible? Is he coming back again? That's next? But yes,
he's back with you with your sports headlines. That's Brian
Fedley and he has him now. And I can't explain
someone who thought that Julian Edelman would have been the
starting quarterback for the New England Patriots. What moron would
have said that? Yeah? I know what? What clown? The
clown A guy who draws a clown car. That's you.
(01:06:23):
You even have the clown shoes and you have the
clown knows and you're the one that side hustles showing
up a third grade birthday parties. All right, on that note,
let's train the monkey, right. So the Brooklyn Nets curve
of four game losing streak by battering the Denver Nuggets
(01:06:46):
to one nine team Kevin duranamass thirty three points. Brooklyn
is into the second spot in the West by a
half game. All the together, Brian Fedley, what is wrong
on man? Davian Lillard goes for thirty points. The Trailblazers
body slam the Spurs to one of two. What is
(01:07:13):
It's just his energy. It's just taken me over. Just
keep on thinking about this, Julian Edelman. Okay, there we go.
Julian Edelman. Yeah, now that'll soothe me to sleep. Portland
has DIBs on the sixth spot of the West, which
moves the Lakers down to that seven spot. And the
play in tournament, and of course Lebron James said, whoever
invented the play in tournament deserves to be fired. Russell
(01:07:37):
Westbrook ties Oscar Robertson for most triple doubles and NBA
history to be exact, he made a clean block at
the end of overtime. Did Westbrook had thirty three points,
nineteen rebounds, fifteen assists as the Wizards stone wall the
Pacers one three to one thirty two. The Warriors mentally
drained the thunder one thirty six to ninety seven. Steph
(01:07:58):
Curry forty nine points. In Major League Baseball, the Dodgers
grilled the Angels fourteen eleven l a nearly wasted away
at thirteen nothing advantage. The Giants bang three home runs
to hush up the Padre seven to one the White Sex.
The White Sox perforated the Royals nine to one Chicago
with eight runs in the first sending. The Blue Jays
(01:08:21):
hit two jacks to solidify a wind over the Astros
eight to four, and finally the Mets get a win
four to two against the Diamondbacks to improved to eight
and four at home. With that, we send it back
to Brian No. And then there's his tag team teammates
in Annie Furman, who leads Little League Baseball and no hitters. No,
(01:08:41):
not because of what he did on the mound, but
because he went most games without actually having a hit.
Very creative. I'll give you an a fit that it's
not bad. We'll see in an hour. Alright, Hey, it's
all about someone liking you. We'll explain that in just
a minute. We crossed the fifty oddline. What'll we call
Fox spots Sunday on Fox Bus. Ready, Yes, he is probably, Oh,
Mandy Ferment, and I got a quick question for you.
(01:09:02):
Be all right talking about Brian Fenley doing the sports.
I heard some of the scores there with the Wizards.
It's just doing on me. They Washington Wizards. They changed
that name from the bullets to the wizards because they
were afraid of I guess so called riots and whether
the turn bullets wizards. To me, it's worse with the
Grand Wizard of the k k K. Why is no
(01:09:22):
one said anything about the dail A dude, that's where
we're going today. Are you serious? Why would they change
it from the bullets to the wizards? It's bullets with bullets?
Be that bad? The ultim bullets Washington bullets. I have
no words for you. And I mean that is a
that is the stretch of stretch. And I'm surprised someone
has not come out and said something about wizards. But
we'll move on. By the way, what's happening in Portland?
(01:09:44):
Tell me if they're going crazy in the city with
Portland right now with the trail Blazers, are they unified?
Does it unify the city? Listen, it's crawling with Blazers fans.
It's a horrible sports town. I'll be honest with you.
They love their Blazers, they really do. Um they are
past in it about the Blazers. They are They're not
a legitimate sports town at all. Like what so, it's
(01:10:05):
one of the worst I've ever lived in I'll be
honest with you. Yeah, they're just a lot of there're
a lot more interests outside of sports, which is that's
how they get down liking hiking, Yeah, hiking and craft
beers and mustaches and stuff like that. Like, they're just
a lot of interests outside of sports. That's the vibe
of the city. That's how it is around here. When
I worked for the four Liddle of those Drickers, we
played the Portland's Timbers and I went to Portland one
(01:10:27):
time and the game was canceled because the lights failed
in the stadium. That so well, and listen, that's a
good example where they're incredibly passionate about the Timbers, the
soccer team here. But it's I say, sports fans in
this area they treat sports like an ala carte menu,
which is, you might be a die hard Blazers fan
and you're all in, but you didn't watch the NFL
(01:10:49):
Draft and you kind of dabbled with the NFL playoffs,
and I'm just like, how how right? Like huge, I
didn't really watch the Final four. It's you know what,
how can that be? So that's the vibe around here.
They might be really passionate about one team, maybe a couple,
but you just don't have that diversified portfolio if you want,
(01:11:11):
really a major league town. And besides the Timber, the
Portland Tibo Wolves, I mean the Portland Trailblazers. What do
you got mon league? He used that mon league baseball? Right?
No more? I don't know, man, I don't pay attention.
No major college really yeah, who knows? We move on.
By the way, got Bartabarro betting coming up about five
six minutes from now, and then we have something on
Draft Day or we can go Thursday. It was reported
(01:11:34):
that gets this Tim Tebow of all people, recently worked
out with the Jacksonville Jaguars, And immediately I said to myself,
in life, in sports, whatever it may be, if someone
likes you, you will be taking care of. And basically
someone likes Tim Tebow his college coach who just happens
to be coaching right now this team in Jacksonville. Not
(01:11:56):
as a quarterback, He's trying out as a tight end.
How do you like, dad? Isn't that crazy urban Meyer
to take care of his guy? Well, he asked for
a tryout. It's just funny the headlines that Tim Tebow
has created from um his quarterback days to now, like
my guy Rob Parker, I love Rob. He's talking about
(01:12:17):
white privilege with him getting a try out. It's not
about that at all, man, it's Urban Meyer and Tim
Tebow have a relationship. They kicked the Tigers. He hasn't
been given a contract, he hasn't made the fifty three
man roster. You know what I mean? Tim Tebow, he's
a great leader, and if he requests a try out,
what's the harmon giving the guy a try out? Well?
(01:12:39):
Why not? So I just think that goes way too far.
And I just think that Tim Tebow has been a
guy who has created some headlines. You talk about blowing
things out of proportion. Remember the early winning streak when
he was the QB of the Broncos and people just
took that in ran man, And and now it's the
same storyline with him, just get a tryout. It's crazy
(01:13:01):
to man, he's thirty three and then he's not a
kid anymore. That's the thing. So I'd look at this
to Andy, tell me if this is crazy or not.
But I wouldn't bring Tim Tebow on the roster. How
good is he going to be as a tight end Honestly,
he's not gonna be that great. He's not gonna be
a difference maker. So why would you He's incredibly popular
to this day, and you know that Trevor Lawrence is
(01:13:24):
going to struggle at times as a rookie quarterback. It's
inevitable most quarterbacks do, especially taking over a team that
had the number one overall, number one overall pick in
the worst record last season. So if Trevor Lawrence stinks
it up for a couple of games in a row,
why would you want to put Trevor Lawrence in a
position where you know fans would say this as crazy
it is. Don't let a little thing like logic slow
(01:13:47):
a fan down from a you know, a hot take
which is put in tebow see what he can do.
I don't know why you would even set yourself up
for something like especially from the area. Really he played
at Florida and the certainly people know him and he
has a hell of the following. He really does. By
the way, I want to change topics for just one
second because again another star to our executive producer, director,
(01:14:08):
and leader Vine because we mentioned like I mentioned the
Baltimore Bullets, hence the Washington Wizards and why they changed
their name. This is amazing. I mean, he's got the
answer right here. If the Israeli Prime Minister Yetsk Rabin
was assassinated in nineties seven, a Poland who owned the
Washington Bullets of Baltimore Bullets at the time, he had
a closer relationship and friendship with Robin, he made the
(01:14:30):
decision to change the name, sitting a moral obligation to
remove the association of Bullets from his basketball team. Interesting,
how do you like that? So, vin A once again
to start for you to helping us out. But then again,
I'll go one stuff further. Why would you even want
to call a team bullets? You know, there's a lot
of names that go out there various teams in different sports. Raiders, Raiders,
(01:14:52):
white Socks. You know, there's certain names that just stay
with a team no matter what the sport, might be, Tigers, Bronco.
You know. But Ny says, yes, go ahead, Vinny, tell me.
Why would they call the Bullets the original Baltimore Bullets
old marketing slogan was faster than a speeding bullet. That's
one of the reasons why they had Thank goodness for
(01:15:15):
you've been a with information here just the andy wondering
out loud about things about you. Well, I wondered about
that stuff, which is bad because at least you don't
close to your mind up with that garbage. Yeah, I mean,
you know, I often wonder why would a team call
themselves the bullets. You know, they're they there's passes they
called a bullet pass, so you know there's potential into
(01:15:36):
that as well. But you know, I remember when he
first originally floated the idea of changing you lived in
the area, right like they moved to the area in
in nineteen seventy three, and he wanted to have it
less associated with gun violence because at the time, d
C in the eighties and nineties was the murder capital
of the world. Yeah, definitely wanted less association, but the
(01:15:58):
fans didn't want that. They remain the bulletted to remain
the bullets. I still call them the bullets from time
to time, you know, because that's what I grew up
with them as the name of the team. But ultimately, yeah,
it was too in response to the gun violence in
d C, which was one of the most violent cities
at the time in the eighties and nineties, and and
so on. Yeah, they did. They have a contest to
(01:16:21):
name the team to call him the Wizards. When they
just threw the name out there. They had a contest.
I don't remember exactly everything, but yeah, they had a
contest about it. I liked the Bullets, you know, and
I remember the old days when the Bullets and it
guys like Gus Johnson and Kevin Loggery and Jack Marron.
There was there was a great teams they really were.
But you know, I wish they were the Bullet still.
I like that name. So we move on, all right.
(01:16:43):
I thank you again, Vinny, really thank you for all
the hard work you do for us, making us look good.
He's Bribaban No, I mean the firm. And this is
Fox Spots Sunday, Fox Spots Radio. Now some say it's skill,
some call it Look, we call it bott and barrel
betting and it's all yours freaking next. You're listening to
Fox Sports, but a barrel betting coming right up at
(01:17:06):
eleven minutes before the top of the hour. This is
Fox Sports Sunday. He's probably nom Andy firm. We've got
a game here, let's play it. It's bottom wanted to
sleep people, get my money I'll put your brank to sleep. Yeah.
Returning to action, the man himself to one the only
vin a. Hello, Hello, guys, how are you doing today?
(01:17:30):
How are things with you? But tricks are good doing?
All right? Yeah, Brian, Before we get to uh results
from last week in our betting this week, I would
highly recommend going four K on the TV. Yeah, that's
the way it's going for technology wise, l e ed
if you can. And I would also recommend looking into
getting a television from Costco because they have a ridiculously
(01:17:52):
good return policy. Okay, alright, d four k Costco really
good prices. What brand? Oh, that one is a little
bit more trickier. We own a Samsung, but I've heard
good things about Sony, uh, Teshiba and UH and the
and the likes, so it's more of a preference. They
also have these ones that are curved. Yeah. I don't
(01:18:15):
know what, but do some research before you go in.
But yeah, I would definitely look at Costco as a
what about a fifty four inch of there be? I
don't think they come in fifty four they Yeah, they
come in giant sizes four fifty five. I think I
didn't know ridiculous sizes you got all the information. I
(01:18:37):
love that about you. But I I try, I try, so
we get to it now. Last week not a good
not good news for Brian had one postponement because of
Manchester United and Liverpool. Uh fans, I think it was
man You fans went a little crazy, got the game postponed.
Andy goes three and one, Brian two and two. Wait
a minute, wait, just a minute, this is funny. Beca
(01:18:58):
is the first time in six years. If one and
I was gonna say to myself, I was gonna go
public today on quitting. If I was gonna lose today,
I was gonna quit. And I think I was defeated
with Bo Benson, you know, Chrispie take my place or whatever.
But now I'm back. I'm bad. I feel good. Now, Yeah,
you're back. We'll see how you're not even a congratsu
with my partner, not even a nice job. Do it
twice in a row, and maybe I'll think of it.
(01:19:20):
And all right, let's see if we can do it
twice in a row. Here, Andy, we're gonna go to
the World Senior Championships and snooker. Patrick Wallace versus David Lily.
David Lily is minus one and a half. I guess
I go first because I won. All right, I'm gonna
go with Patrick Wallace. I just like this. I'd like
Patrick Wallace's take on on snooker. I just have a
(01:19:42):
feeling Lily to me is too much of a clown. Yeah,
I'm gonna go with Wallace as well, because I think
of William Wallace in Braveheart, and if this guy wins,
he can say I am Patrick Wallace. So that's what
I have floating around in my head. All right, there
we go. We move on to the Women's World Championship
of Curling. We got the USA versus Sweden. Sweden is
(01:20:03):
to minus two and a half is the favorite. You
gotta look out for the Swedes. They're crafty with curling
their vine. So I'm going with the Swedes in this one.
You know, not to follow you, but I will take
the Swede because I think they brought up with that game.
They inherit that game, They taught that game at a
young age. So wait a minute, not to follow me,
but you are following me. Yeah, well, you know you
follow me the first round. I'm not gonna follow you now.
(01:20:25):
But the Swedes, I mean, it's a game of of
life in that country curling all right. On the other
side of that Women's World Championship, we've got Switzerland at
minus one and a half against the Russia. Well, I
got the Swiss. I got the Swiss big time in
this one. Give me the Russians. Give me the Russians
in that one. Yeah, our first disagreement. They may know
they may get eliminated because you'll see some drugs in
(01:20:48):
the Uh wow, Well you can't. You can't win if
you if you agree on everything andy here, So we
move on to the I'm not agreeing on everything. NRL
Rugby League. We got the West Tigers against the New
Hastle Kings Newcastle Kings or minus four and a half.
Oh Kings all day, go ahead, disagree and all right,
(01:21:09):
just like the Kennel Club. It was actually West Tigers
by with that one. And we got the Manly Sea
Eagles minus seven a half at the Brisbane Broncos. I
like the Eagles. I kind of like the Eagles, I
really do. I think I still some tape on them once.
I'm going Broncos in this one, you know, even though
(01:21:31):
I think that uh, I think Jalen Hurts of the
Philadelphia Eagles is a better quarterback than Drew Lock of
the Broncos. I'm not gonna let that influence my pick here,
all right, that's it, I guess right, all right? One hey,
one team in the NFL is not taking any chances.
We'll tell you why next. Fox Sports Radio has the
best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of
(01:21:54):
our shows at Fox sports Radio dot com and within
the I Heart Radio app search f that's our to
listen live. The threat is real, that's coming right up
at first. It's time to say Happy Mother's Day and
wake up America. Yes, it's that time. It's Fox Sports Sunday.
(01:22:14):
He's probably no. I'm Andy Furman. This is the hour
of power. Hey ka, the Power Hour. And there's no
one more powerful. I promise you my hands on my heart,
I promise you there's no one more powerful than my
part than my friend, the man who carries the load
on this show. Yes he does, the one, the only
Mr Brian No, Hello, b How are you? My goodness? Dude?
(01:22:42):
What is what have you eaten or drank this morning? Huh?
You are a bundle of energy. Oh I don't really know.
I just all I do is brush my teeth. That's
maybe it's the toothpaste. I don't know. Listen, Happy Mother's
Day to all the mothers out there. As you mentioned,
I like how you said happy Mother's Day, sort of
like a drill instructor. I like that, Happy Mother's Day
(01:23:05):
to every happy mother. Oh you mother's light up there.
Happy day. But why I gotta negative? You know me
like I always see the dark cloud. Okay, you know
Mother's Day is a great day. You gotta on your mom.
You got on a mom every single day. But it's
great that she has a separate day that we can
on her. Mom's do everything. They do it all. They work,
they clean, they care, they love, they do everything they
you look, if it wasn't my mom, you know, I
(01:23:28):
wouldn't be the person I am. She gave me all
the good jeans. I got some good genes somewhere. They're
in there somewhere, I know. But the one bad thing
about Mother's Day is you want to take care of
your mom and or your wife and you want to
go to a restaurant, give it a day out of
the kitchen. Right, you can't get in, you can't. You
gotta take a reservation. Six months in advance, you can't
get in. And I'll tell you something else which really
(01:23:49):
burns me to no end. Now, every once in a
while that they're get in the car, get out in
the morning and maybe get a cup of coffee and
maybe even get a little breakfast one of those fast
food places. It is brutal. They'll the the lines now
because no one goes indoors the line to get in
and sitting your car for forty five minutes. It's not
worth it. Do you have the same problem in your
(01:24:10):
area when you go through these drive throughs nowadays, throughing
the pandemic, you can't get in. I Andy, I don't
know what makes you sound older, the odds that you
say or what you just explained with waiting in line,
I don't know. I'm not sure it's a well does
have to do with the age. I don't get it.
I mean you're sitting in your car for forty minutes.
You almost forget when you go to waterer. Really it's
(01:24:32):
really you want to sit in the car for fifteen
minutes with fifteen cars in front of you. Online and
there's what I go to Chick fil a it is
pit stop. They got it moving quickly. It is. It is.
I'm telling you it is a well oiled machine over there.
So if you're upset about your weight, time go get
you some Chick fil A. Andy, I'm not the only one.
(01:24:52):
I'm so away time, believe me. I mean, if if
you enjoy sitting in the car for minutes, you know,
in your city and sself, what am I doing here?
You know? I leave? It's not a question of think
being impatient. It's just a question like, hey, it's called
quote fast food, right, it's not fast food. We have
to wait fifty minutes? All we move on? All right?
Green Bay? Green Bay versus Aaron Rodger's biggest game right
(01:25:17):
now going on in sports is that And it looks
like Aaron Rodgers when and rightfully so future Hall of Fame,
he should win. He has everything, has all the cards
in his corner. And then the Packers are gonna be
exploring quarterbacks now to add to their roster for upcoming
oh t A and training camp. This tells me right now,
not only is the threat real, Green Bay's worried. Green
(01:25:37):
Bay is really in fact worry about this. If they're
inviting other quarterbacks into the camp to up their roster
for the upcoming O T A S. Not a good sign.
If Green Bay is doing that, there should be more concerned.
We're making peace when Aaron Rodgers they're worrying about getting
other quarterbacks for O T A S. It's just look, man,
(01:25:58):
they're not bringing these guys in to take over for
Aaron Rodgers, right. This is basically bookkeeping. This is making
sure you have enough bodies that type of thing. Of
course they're gonna be concerned about Aaron Rodgers, there's no
doubt about that. But if it's not Aaron Rodgers there,
they're gonna move towards Jordan's Love like that's who it's
gonna be on the field. So what you're mentioning with
(01:26:18):
bringing in qbs, No one that they're bringing in is
gonna take the lion's share of the snaps this year.
It's just bodies, you know, That's all it is. One
doesn't have anything to do with the other. No I
understand anybodies to practice. But here's the deal. If Aaron
Rodgers doesn't show and he has an offseason workout bonus
of a half a mill he has tied to that
to his regular contract. That's a big deal. That's a
(01:26:40):
bit chunk of money to throw away. I I don't
care how much money you make. I don't care who
you are. You know, if you're working and you get
time and a half and you're an hourly employee, you
don't want to lose the time and a half. If
you're a multimillionaire as an athlete and you have a
five thousand now bonus tied to a workout situation, you
really don't want to lose that. You really don't. And
I'll tell you something else. I don't like that deal anyway.
(01:27:03):
I never liked the fact that these teams put a
workout bonus. Isn't that plent of your job to work out?
What are you gonna bonus to work out? Andy Rodgers
is not Aaron Rodgers now worried about a workout bonus.
Look at all the money that he's earned throughout the years.
That isn't something where he's like, all right, we gotta
we gotta date here that I gotta hit. And they
(01:27:25):
doesn't even register, Like you don't think how many players
do you see hold out of training camp and they're
getting fined every single day. Now, sometimes they're not actually
required to pay that amount. Other times they are, but
they're still holding out like that's the thing. It's all
relative to what you're making. Five hundred thousand dollars to
(01:27:45):
you and me or someone working at nine to five, Yeah,
that's a significant amount of money. Five hundred thousand dollars
to Aaron Rodgers with the millions and millions he's earned
over his time in the NFL. That that's nothing. It's
nothing to it. It's fire you to be like, I
can't lose this money. I gotta you're just bet over
here and get my get myself to practice. No, it
(01:28:06):
doesn't work like that. No, you're right. It is nothing
to a man who makes big time money. Really, but again,
you just don't want to throw it away and just
to give it up by not showing up. It's wrong.
And you're right. I mean, these guys who could find
the other guys get fine on a Delhi basis. But
those people probably are getting fine, probably do not have
a workout bonus clause in that contract. And you're right again,
(01:28:27):
where the sense that most of these teams will kind
of refund to find if you will, to just give
the money back if they show up the camp. But
I just don't understand what's going on here in green
Bay because it looks like right now Aaron Rodgers is
holding steadfast to the Green Bay packers like I'm not
coming in and I you know, here's the deal. I
know he was this. I know it's the Jordan loves situde.
(01:28:50):
I get it. You know you're bringing in the air
apparent maybe to him, and he was never notified about that.
That I understand. But more than that, can't green Bay
just get face to face it where Sorry, we shouldn't
have done that. We should have told you we're drifting
a quarterback? Would that make peace? I don't understand what
else he wants. Well, that's the main question, Andy, is
(01:29:10):
what's gonna help this? Is there anything? There were a
couple of interviews this week. A j Hawk was on
with The Herd and he said, yeah, it can be fixed.
Everything's fixable. But that turns into the question what will help?
And according to the reports, he wants Brian goudacn'st out
of there is that it is that the only thing
that would remedy the situation. I find that story night
(01:29:33):
storyline fascinating, Andy, Which is if that's the ultimatum, what
do the packtors do. Do they say, now we're gonna
let you walk here in Rodgers or are they gonna
say our guy Goody over here? He is a GM
stud not only in the making, but in the here
and now? Do you hit your wagon to Brian Goodakoon's
I keep going back to this Andy, who's tougher to replace?
(01:29:55):
Is it Aaron Rodgers as a star, superstar, reigning m
VP quarterback or is it Goody? You know, come by
love and a J. Dillon. That's what we have so
far as the leading bullet points on his GM resume. Yeah.
I never heard of Goody until the situation arose when
(01:30:16):
Aaron Rodgers. And I'll tell you what the pressure right
now is on Mark Murphy. Isn't he the president CEO
of the Green Bay Packers. I mean he would ultimately
make the decision to get rid of Goody, I would
think so right now, no one's talking to Murphy. I
haven't heard much about him, and and he's got to
make that decisions, probably staying up at night. What do
I do. I'm sure Goody's friendly with him. I'm sure
(01:30:37):
he hired Goody. So what do you do? Do you
just cross him off, throw him in the back room,
make him a janitor. What do you do with the
guy you pay him well to say? Going your way? Well,
this is what it comes down to, Andy, is actions
mean more than words. They speak louder than words. So
think about this. The actions for the Packers, they drafted
(01:30:57):
Jordan's love. That's the main action. And so it's not
gonna be eased with words and saying, Hey, we're gonna
have a sit down with Aaron Rodgers. You mean the
world to us, blah blah blah. Remember the reports earlier
that all the main guys in that organizations have flown
out to meet with Aaron Rodgers in person, and of
(01:31:18):
course they're gonna be saying everything under the stars of
you're the guy. You know, you're the man, we love you,
you are our future. Blah blah blah. It's the point
now where you have to match actions, which is drafting
Jordan's love, with actions that appease Aaron Rodgers. And unless
you do that, all the words in the world don't
(01:31:38):
mean anything to him. Look, I'm gonna come back and
say maybe. At the time Green Bay filled, his skills
were diminishing as his age increased, but he did throw
fifty t d s last year, and he was he
was proved. I think got close. But I would say this,
I think the drafting of Jordan's love was the motivating
factor for him to win the m v P, to
show them they look, you don't be draft of the
(01:32:00):
quarterback because I've still got some gas left in my tank.
But here's the thing also right now with Aaron Rodgers,
is there a possibility that maybe when you reach a
certain age in any brook, in any vocation, in any job,
he's just like I've had it. I i don't want
to go through this anymore. I'm gonna leave. Tom Brady's unusual.
I mean, he says you want to play until he's fifty.
You know guys that I know, they say they can't
(01:32:22):
wait till they reach sixty five so they can retire.
You know that means you must hate your job if
you're counting the days. But there are some people who
just don't have any gas left. I want to burn
it out and say I don't want to do this anymore.
I want to do something else, and maybe maybe the
jeopardy is a great alternative for Aaron Rodgers. Now he
has someplace else to go to. He could do the
Jeopardy deal and leave football. Well, he doesn't have to
(01:32:46):
leave football to do Jeopardy. But I'm just thinking of
some of the comments that we've heard. Terry Bradshaw was
on w f A N this week and he was
talking about, Hey, who cares who you draft? Why is
Aaron Rodgers so threatened Jordan's love? I don't think that's
it as all at all. I can't speak for Aaron Rodgers,
but I put myself in that position. Put yourself in
(01:33:06):
that position, Andy. I get that a team will look
toward the future and they might make moves without me
in mind. I understand that, but it shouldn't be at
the expense of the here and now. And when the
Packers had a championship caliber team and you draft a
guy not only to take my spot initial eventually, but
(01:33:29):
it's at the expense of the here and now. If
they draft a guy who's a difference maker and on
the field, they might have won a Super Bowl last season,
that might have been the difference right there. They lost
to the They lost the Tampa by five points in
the NFC Championship game. So if I'm in that position.
It's not about being threatened by Jordan's love and oh,
how dare you draft Jordan's love? It's you look to
(01:33:52):
the future at the expense of the here and now.
And that's something that man you talk about not being
able to holler rate something like that, that would be
on rub you the wrong way. And that's why we
have the scenario we have right now with all what
what Murphy does, but Mark Murphy, the president CEO of
the Green Bay Packers does, can create a very very
(01:34:14):
dangerous president in sports, especially with the NFL, but a
sports in general where an athlete could demand and we're
talking about not any athlete, but an athlete with some
cash a can demand something and get it done. And
not only quote uncertain the quarterbacks have more cachet than
any other position probably, but the diva's out there, the
wide receivers, they may be able to do this as well.
(01:34:35):
And what message does this send, not only to the
Green Bay Packers, but to the league in general. If
a player could stand on his head, scream and cry
and say I'm not gonna play unless this guy has
gone what happens? I mean, it's a tough situation. I
agree with you. I think it's a great point. There
are a lot of organizations and a lot of gms
around the league that are monitoring the situation very closely.
(01:34:58):
Because if Aaron Rodgers, if this is true, and he
says Goody's gotta go or I'm gone, if the Packers
are like, Okay, hit the road, Goody, that sets the
precedent and there will be other star quarterbacks. Granted, there
aren't that many star quarterbacks in the NFL that are
of the caliber and have the cachet of Aaron Rodgers,
(01:35:20):
so it's not like Jimmy g can pull the same card, right,
But for the star quarterbacks, say Russell Wilson, say, uh,
you know, if Deshaun Watson, if his legal problems are
behind Brady basically did it. Then he packed up and
left New England's a similar situation. He didn't cry and
wind publicly as much as Aaron Rodgers has. But you know,
we'll think about this though, and you think if if,
(01:35:42):
and this is all you know, hypothetical, but if the Packers,
let's play this game, they get rid of Goody and
the Packers win big. Let's say they win a Super
Bowl all of a sudden they're gonna be a lot
of organizations. The next star quarterback that starts demanding stuff,
they might think it worked with the Packers, right, So
why are we going to go with the GM instead
(01:36:03):
of the points the most logical point in the world.
Do you replace Goody who you never heard of, or
or a future Hall of Famer who's more valuable to
the franchise? Really it's Aaron Rodgers, no doubt. And uh, look,
Goody could be there for the next two decades and
Aaron Rodgers doesn't have that much time left. But I
still come back to you can find another Goody like
(01:36:25):
he's not the Aaron Rodgers of GMS. Good luck finding
another Aaron Rodgers. Well, here's a scenario. Maybe Mark Murphy
does this, tells Goody, look, we're gonna pay you for
the next two years. When Aaron Rodgers basically retires, we'll
bring you back, right, Yeah, I like that under the
table handshake. Right, Just just keep out of the office,
(01:36:46):
don't even go to games, you change your name, leave town.
But in two years, when he's retired, we'll bring you back.
I like it. Just you know you're gonna have to
find employment with the Ravens or the Eagles or something.
I don't know, but we'll bring you back when Aaron
Rodgers is gone. That's outside the box thinking. I doubt
it would ever go down that way, but I appreciate
the outside the box thought by you. You never know,
(01:37:07):
I mean, who knows what's gonna happen. I mean, I
don't know how close Murphy is with Goody, but I'm
sure Murphy had something to do with his higher I'm
sure he did. He's been in the organization for a
long time. Getting rid of a guy like that. It
really is a loyal employee. I mean, doing his homework
the better players. That's all I can say. He might
be the greatest dude ever. Don't draft Jordan's Love in
the first round. That was ridiculous. Maybe a good guy
(01:37:29):
to drink a couple of beers with, but it ain't
picking players for me, that's all. And we move on,
all right. He's my guy. He's probably no Get him
on Twitter at the Nose Show. That's n we show
at Andy Ferman f s R. Or eight seven seven
on Fox that's our phone number. Or eight seven seven
nine nine six six three six time we got Bryan
Noh knows picks at the end of this hour. So
(01:37:51):
don't you dare go anywhere else except if you take
a mom out to launch. Okay, now, one NFL coach,
it's pointing fingers and we'll tell you which direction that's next.
You're listening to Fox Sportsdio, I'm out of touch. Really,
who wins this battle? That's right around the corner about
twenty three past the hour. This is Fox Sports something
(01:38:13):
on Fox Spots Raider. He's Mr Brian oh On Andy Firman.
By the way, we probably brought to you by Discover.

(01:38:37):
And by the way, be your good friend. Baker is
tweeting us is what's the difference between Alex Trebek and
Aaron Rodgers. Trebek knows he's not an elite NFL quarterback. Interesting,
I don't I don't know if that's it's alright, our
guy Bake with the jokes there. That's your guy, isn't it.
They Yeah, bangs my guy over here. Yeah, we've uh,
(01:38:59):
we've played pool before here in Rip City. So he's
a good dude for sure. Well he's listening. That's good
to have that, all right. He's walking to dogs this morning.
You know, he takes the dogs out early in the
morning and listens to the show. That's awesome. Well, I'm
glad anybody's listening to this show. Have the dogs and
not do as long as their listeners good with me.
All right, we've got a coach, it is. It's another
layer of this air and Roger's story. It really is
(01:39:21):
somewhat amazing. One coach who was once involved in a
big quote aback controversy as well, Mike Holmgren. Mike Holeman
was once the quarterback coach at the Fourning nine Is
when they had Joe Montana and Steve Young, and Holman
said that players as good as Rogers should be given
some insight to their teams short and long term plans.
Now it's really easy for Mike to say this from
(01:39:42):
a distance. It really is. I mean, uh, and it's real.
It's tough. I mean it's a tough call. He said
that he would have gone to a sit down meeting
with Rogers prior to their drafting of Jordan's Love and
which I don't think is that difficult. I think that's
the easy thing to do. That's what should have been done.
The Chicago Bears did it with Andy Dalton when they
told him that probably gonna go for a quarterback. And
certainly Dalton Dalton does not have the m v P
(01:40:03):
status and Hall of Fame status of of Aaron Rodgers.
But you gotta just common courtesy. It's common in any
walk of life, not just football. I think in any
walk of life you have to do that. You come
up with a guy, see, hey, Brian was sorry, we
we got Chris p is gonna replace you next week
on on your show. So you know, it's just it's
good business. That's We've been certainly a million times, and
(01:40:25):
I'm sure we'll be through it more as this saga
goes on. But like I think that the larger issue,
I think there are a lot of people that just
don't want to um evolve from the way things used
to be. It used to be you're the player, play coach, coach.
You do what the coach says, and that's that you know,
(01:40:46):
it doesn't work like that. Now there's a coach. There
are a lot of people that are with this old
school mentality of why do I cater to the player?
And oh, we gotta consider their feelings, and I think
they get a from it's just smart business. It's smarter
to approach the player and say, look, Aaron, we're gonna
(01:41:07):
draft a quarterback. We just want to make you aware
of it. You're our guy. YadA YadA, YadA, YadA, But
at least give the guy a heads up. It isn't
catering to him, It isn't being aware of his feelings
and all these other things that people try to twist
it into. It's just being business savvy. It's respect. There's
nothing wrong with showing respect. It's got It helps the
(01:41:28):
success and it helps for the success of the organization
on the field as well. And one of the major
key elements of the problems here is the fact that we,
when I say we, the entire universe does not know
how good Jordan's love is. Now, if Jordan's love showed
some spark of greatness, if Aaron Rodgers, god forbid, was
hurt and missed eight games last year and Jordan's Love
(01:41:49):
came in and did tremendous things. I think this whole
scenario might have changed. Say you know what, Aaron Packet
bags and go. We got a young kid, got a
young stud that could play. No one knows what Jordan
Love can do. And basically he wasn't that good of
a player in college anyway, Utah State. He didn't didn't
rack it up there like he like like other kids
(01:42:09):
coming out of college. Okay, look at Josh Allen. What
did he do at Wyoming? We spent all of our
time talking about his low completion percentage and all of
those things. He was unbelievable last year. So what does
that really mean? We don't know. It's a guessing game,
as it is with a lot of these quarterbacks how
they're going to pan out in the NFL. We don't
know about Jordan's Love. All I know is it didn't
make sense for the Packers specifically to take him. But
(01:42:33):
I'm not gonna sit here and act like I know
that he's gonna be a good NFL player. He's gonna stink.
I don't know. I'd be b asking you if I
told you I knew you would never do that. To me,
you would never you would never be like that. And yeah,
you know it's funny. We need draft players. They usually
do this draft for your needs or draft the best
(01:42:54):
player available. Jordan's love does not fit either one of
those categories. They did. They they need was off it's
of talent. They didn't go for that two years ago,
and certainly he was not the best player available, so
they screwed up. So there goes your guy, Goody Gotty
whatever his name is. Good Yeah, Goody and Goody and Goody. Right,
he's gone. I mean, think about it. I mean, they
didn't drive the best player available, and then then what
(01:43:16):
they didn't fulfill the need? And maybe that's why Aaron
Rodgers is upset. I don't think Aaron Rodgers wants to
be brought in and tell them who you should drive.
He just sit down and say, look, you know what,
we came this close, my fingers in this close. We
came this close to winning the Super Bowl, is this
close to really doing something really well? And this is
what we need. This is what we need basically to
(01:43:36):
you honestly get to the next level. Yeah, I mean
we've been through it a million times. He's ticked off.
The only question now is where does this go? Are
his heels dug in as he truly played his final
game for the Packers timeline, What do you think? Do
you think he did? I don't know, man, I really don't.
(01:43:57):
It's it's almost like the it feels like Mac Jones
all over again. It sounds like a weird comparison to make,
but think about it before the draft. Remember Chris Mortenson
where he's like, it's about nine that Mac Jones is
going to the forty niners, you know. So you'll hear
that about Aaron Rodgers. You'll hear people say, oh, it's
about he's done here. And I don't know that that's
(01:44:19):
the case. I really don't. My best guess is, yeah,
he's gonna go somewhere else because he is. Once he
has something in his head, he pretty much sticks to it.
And I'm gonna guess that he's done. But I don't
think that it's the done deal for sure that some
people are making it. I know we've been beating this
topic through death, and I know is the a topic
(01:44:39):
and that's what people are talking about that I have
one more layer. I have one more layer which we
haven't touched on. We touched on the front door office,
we touched on the coaching staff, we touched on Aaron Rodger,
we touched on the drafting and everything and the Jordan's Love.
But he claims the quarantine the NFL network that he
warned free agents this off season that he may not
be in Green Bay for next year, so stay away
from green Bay. To me, this layer tells me that
(01:45:02):
if I'm a player on the green Bay Packers and
there's a couple of free agents, and maybe I'm friends
with some of these free agents, and they don't show
up in Green Bay because of his statement, I am
p o to the max. And to me, that doesn't
do any any good whatsoever to the teammates in that clubhouse,
in that locker room. And that's wrong. I think it's wrong.
You've got a problem. That's okay, don't take it out
(01:45:24):
on the other fifty two guys. That's you know, really,
you're supposed to be a leader and you're not showing leadership. Yeah,
he's part of the problem. There's no doubt. It's not
just Goody drafting Jordan's Love. It's Aaron Rodgers calling him
Jerry Krausse. It's Aaron reportedly telling free agents not to
go there. He's part of the problem as well. It's ugly.
It's ug and I can't stand it. That's why I'm
(01:45:45):
moving on right now. He's probably no. I'm Andy Ferman.
This is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Puts Radio, and
you just might see this team in another city. That's next,
But first, this man is staying put. That's Brian Fentiley
with the latest. And you're the guy who thinks that
the NBA will move a team to the city of
Louisville only expansion expansion. Well, you know what I mean,
(01:46:08):
have a team there, That's what I meant. So yeah,
you yourself, Andy Ferman. The Brooklyn Nets shoe away a
four game losing streak by climbing out of a twenty
one point deficit and suppressing the Nuggets last night to
one nineteen. Brooklyn pigs into that second spot in the
East by half game over the Bucks. The Warriors drop
(01:46:31):
a piano on the thunder one thirty six to ninety seven.
Stephen Curry marvels with eleven three pointers forty nine points
as Golden State slots into that eighth seed in the conference.
Damian Lillard, wolfing down thirty points as the Trailblazers butcher
the Spurs one to one oh two. Portland nestling into
that six spot in the West, which relegates the Lakers
(01:46:54):
down to seventh. As part of the play in tournament,
and just a couple of days ago, Lebron James made
it known said publicly that whoever invented the playing tournament
needs to be fired. Russell Russell Westbrook ties Oscar Robertson
from most triple doubles and a NBA history. Westbrook thirty
three points, nineteen rebounds, fifteen assists, also had a key
(01:47:16):
block at the end of OT as the Wizards elude
the Pacers one thirty three to one thirty two. After
the game, Westbrook boasted, quote, when I'm all done with
my career, I can look back and no one can
say I didn't compete at the highest level or that
I cheated the game close quote the Jazz Bloods in
the Rockets one oh six and the seventies six, or
(01:47:38):
startled the Pistons one eighteen to one oh four. In baseball,
the Dodgers jitter past the Angels fourteen to eleven after
l a nearly wasted away at thirteen to nothing advantage.
The White Sox stumped the Royals nine to one. The
Blue Jays had a couple of home runs to preserve
a win over the Astros eight to four, The Brave
(01:47:58):
swarve past the Phillies eight seven in twelve innings, and
the Giants connect on three home runs to stifle the
Padres seven to one. And with that, I send it
back to Brian No. And then there is his co host,
his tag team partner, Andy Furman, who has made a
killing selling baseball cards and cups. Cups. All right, thank
(01:48:23):
you very much, have okay, have a great day. Thank
you so much for all you do for us. Hey,
same state, different city. We'll get to that in just
about a minute. He is Brian No. I'm in the Firman.
This is Fox Spots Sunday on Fox Busts Radio. You've
got Brian No. One knows picks in less than six
minutes from now. But you know it's funny we hear
all these stories about politics and sports. It's killing sports
(01:48:43):
and I I can't stand you talk about ratings and
this and that. I turned the tube on and I'm
seeing stands full of people. Maybe they're just excited to
get out of the house and get out of the cave.
But people are going to events and it's wonderful and
I think that we're coming back, but getting out of
that tunnel, and I think the light is shining bright
right now and things look good, Things look really good.
(01:49:05):
I don't want to hear anymore about the politics are
hurting spoilt. Look, if you don't like sports, just say
you don't like sports. Don't give me any excuses why
you don't need it. Just don't like sports. That's fine.
But people up in the stands, I'm seeing it on TV,
it's great. Well. I think that's a huge part of
why the ratings have been down is that you don't
have capacity crowds. When you flip on a game and
(01:49:27):
it's just it's dead because maybe like the Blazers, they
had their first crowd on Friday against the Lakers. It
was ten percent. It was less than two dealing, right,
But that's the first time all season long, and uh,
it makes a difference. It at least provides somewhat of
an atmosphere. But I just see these highlights when it's filled,
(01:49:50):
the capacity and the energy it's it's just amazing, and
you're just seeing tarps and limited capacity. And once you
get back and we're getting there, andy, but once we
get back to full capacity crowds and getting away from
the pandemic, I guarantee you the ratings are going to
of course they will because the atmosphere is so much better.
(01:50:10):
You flip on a game, it's the place to be.
You're not gonna flip as easily you turned. The NBA
go on for several months ago. It looks like it's
a practice. Really, it's like it's a private practice. I
don't know. But the question I have here is could
it be? Is it possible one of the iconic teams
in the NFL changing cities? Have you heard about this?
The Chicago Bears, and you know this as well as
(01:50:31):
anybody that's your team really will not know. It's NotI
Dolphins making stuff up here and your geographical geographical team
because you're from South Bench with your geographical team, they've
been playing on Soldier Field since nineteen seventy one, but
that may be changing soon. They're thinking about Arleyton Heights,
a suburb about thirty miles outside of Chicago. Can it happen,
(01:50:54):
and I think it's just deployed to fix up Soldier Field.
That's what I'm thinking it might be. It's look um
the first place I think of, and it might have
be the greatest comparison, but well two of them. Think
about Candlestick Park, and the Niners moved um to a
different spot, So that's comparable. That's football wise. And then
also the same thing Bay Area where the Warriors they
(01:51:16):
moved well away where well away from where they initially
were when they were just opposite of where the Radars
were playing, and now they play in uh, you know,
the ritzy area of towns. It's happened before many times.
I wouldn't be shocked if this happens with the Bears.
You just think it's the Bears and it's Soldier Field,
and it's sacrilegious to even think about moving that team.
(01:51:38):
But hey man, money talks. I would not be stunned
if that's exactly what happens. Well, you know, people are
gonna shaw what do you what do you mean Arlington
Heights with that come from well you, Arlington Heights comes
from the fact that the city is about to have
like plus acres available where a new stadium could be built.
Why is that the land now was occupied by the
Arlington Park racetrack. Dad building is likely going to be
(01:52:01):
sold in the coming months with the expectation that the
new buyer is going to tear it down and redeveloped
the site. And the mayor of Arlington Heights, the Mayor
Tom Hayes, I believe, he said, the Bears are seriously
considering a move to the site. And why wouldn't they.
Soldier Field open in nineteen and that has not gone
under any major renovations. Is oh three and the stadium
(01:52:23):
only seats like sixty one thousand, and due to special constraints,
they cannot even expand that, which might be the reason
why the Bears eventually want to make the move to
Arlington Heights. Yeah, I don't know, it's uh, I hope
they don't move. I love the tradition of Soldier Field,
and um I went there before the the addition, right
(01:52:44):
before they added on, and I like it. It's they've
modernized it, but they've kept the old school roots. It's
a little bit in a way, it's a little bit
like Notre Dame Football Stadium, where when you go there,
it's weird. You walk into the stadium and when you
walk can initially it's all the modernized type stuff, but
then you walk in a little bit more and it's
(01:53:05):
like the original stadium. It was the original fifty nine
thousand plus, so it's still there. It's really cool. So
you get the old school blended with the new school.
And that's similar to how Soldier Field is. They added
on the bells and whistles and all of that, but
you still can feel the old school part of it.
I hope they don't move, but listen, and there are
(01:53:26):
numerous examples of teams doing exactly what the Bears are
thinking about doing. It's all about money and if they
if they get a deal, they're gonna move. Though the
question will be will they be called the Arlington Heights
Bears or they're still Chicago Bears. Maybe they'll call themselves
to the the Illinois Bears. I don't know what they'll call themselves. Well,
it's just the Bears, the Bears, Bears. I don't know
what they're gonna call themselves, but yeah, it's it's kind
(01:53:46):
of I remember, now, this is old school. I remember
when they played at Ridley Field and I loved it.
Because the end zone like you could touch the standard,
that's how close the end zone line was to the stands.
And it was crazy, really is. But it's still amazed
how they fit a football field into Ridley Field, but
they did. And I don't know if this has anything
(01:54:07):
to do with This is totally speculation on my part,
but with it still being Soldier Field and it not
having a corporate sponsorship, that is huge money andy there
for the Falcon Stadium with Mercedes Benz, that deal, it's
close to three decades long. It's a long deal, but
it's over three hundred million dollars just for the sponsorship
(01:54:29):
rights naming the stadium. And I don't know what they
have in place where it hasn't changed from Soldier Field.
But I'm just speculating if they open up a new
stadium and it opens up an easier opportunity to change
the name of the stadium, that right there could be
worth north of two hundred million dollars or whatever it
happens to be. You know, Vinnay is always on the ball.
(01:54:50):
I mean, he's not sleeping, He's on top of everything.
Washington moved out of d C to Land of the Maryland,
right I mean, there you go. So I'm telling you
there numerous examples of that suburbs all the time. I mean,
think about um, well, I don't know where the Cavaliers
played in Richfield. Richfield, Ohio. They still call the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yeah,
(01:55:11):
Pistons moved right, The Pistons are the outskirts Auburn Hills.
Is that what? By the way, Chris, is that where
the new places? Is it still in Auburn Hills or somewhere? No,
they moved into the Little Caesar's Arena, which is actually
in downtown Detroit, saved downtown. They originally played in Cobol
Hall downtown, moved in the outskirts, then they came back
(01:55:31):
downtown again. Well they were originally actually, so after Coba
they were playing up for a little while on the
Pontiac Silverdome, which is where the Lions are. So both
those teams weren't playing in Detroit either. I remember those
old school days. That was fun. Are they close to
America by the way, now, Yeah, like all all those
Ford Field, America and Little Caesars are all kind of
in the same general area. But yeah, Pontiac and uh
(01:55:54):
and and Auburn Hills are both not even in Wayne County.
For Detroit, it's by the way, no one county. Andy.
I'll do my impression of you. Um uh. I went
to a Lions game with my sister. It's the true story.
A handful of years ago. The Ravens beat the Lions.
It's when Justin Tucker hit like six field goals or whatever.
But I went to that game my sister and I
(01:56:15):
know joke. We were stuck in a parking garage for
at least an hour after the game. They're just sitting there.
It made me think of you talking about lines at
the fast food place. But I was I was the
same guy, like, what what's taking so long? We can't
get out of here? Were luck and has nothing to
do with with patience, has nothing to do with age,
and you know what has to do with customer service.
If you could have promote the fact that there's customer service.
(01:56:37):
Are you're paying good money to go to a football game,
playing fifty sixty bucks a ticket, you know, you do
something for the customer to make them want to come back,
and things like that would make you say, you know what,
I ain't going back there? About going on my couch
and watch the game. Can imagine go to a football game,
go down to the garage, find out that someone dented you,
offender in the garage, and you go home. It means
(01:56:58):
why I'm I gonna stay home watch on my couch.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I went down this road here.
I'm sorry on one of those. Yeah. And by the way,
Venne says, the Braves did it too. With the Braves
not in Atlanta anymore, were they now? Cobb County? Cobb County. Okay,
there we go. Thank you so much for the the
extra spice you give to us every single Sunday when
you're here. All right, there we go. Brian no Andy Furman,
(01:57:19):
Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Spots Radio. They call him Disperminator,
and we'll tell you why. Next you're listening to Fox
Sports Radio. Nose picks coming right up about eleven minutes
before the top of the hour. That's Brian no on
Many Firman. This is Fox Sports Sunday on Fox Sports Radio.
(01:57:41):
By the way, at the top of the hour, that
would be nine o'clock on the East coast, nine A. M. E.
S Calls Mike Harmon and LaVar Arrington get him on
the i RT app, Serious x, m AD three and
many of these same Fox spots radio affiliates. But right
now it's time for my partner, Brian no and nose
picks here. Are you in desperate need of gambling insight
(01:58:07):
for Brian No is here and now the time is
cub al right, Andy, was a winning week last week
two and one. Pretty good Blazers and underdog. They took
down the Celtics, won the game outright. Also, my Cardinals
took care of the Pirates. I think they started the
(01:58:28):
Pirates losing ways. Actually, Lakers didn't get it done against
the Raptors. But to and one. We're in the money,
so we're gonna try to keep that momentum going. Here.
I've got two NBA one baseball again. Now, when Vegas
begs you to take something, I go the other way.
The Clippers are favored by nine points today against the Knicks.
(01:58:48):
Nicks have had a really good season. You're getting nine
with the Knicks in the media, I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
When Vegas is trying to do me a favor there,
they're us setting me up for failure. So I am
laying the nine points. I'm going with the Clippers over
the next Today, another NBA one. It is in l A. Yeah, Jakers.
(01:59:14):
The Clippers are hosting that one. I'm going with the
Pelicans there on the road. Pelicans are four and a
half point underdogs. No Zion with the broken ring finger,
but they're playing the Hornets the Hornets. Are you gotta
lay four and a half with the Hornets, I'm not
doing it. I'm taking the Pelicans plus the four and
a half. Well, you're not sold on that one, said,
(01:59:36):
good move? Okay? I thought you said, oh like, I
don't know risk got you okay? And I'm gonna go
with baseball. I'm going with the White Sox today, Andy
little aggressive, well aggressive today. I'm going with the run line.
So the White Sox have to win by at least
two runs. They are at the Royals today, but you
get plus money plus one oh five. Lucas chi Alito
(01:59:58):
on the bump for the White Sox. I'm going with them.
Good move. I think two and one the Clippers Knicks
and nine points. That's a lot. That is a lot. Yeah,
Clippers can beat him by double digits. I don't know
Vega's trying to do you a favor. I I don't know.
I start feeling uncomfortable when it seems like they're doing
me a favor. But it's time to go your own way. Here,
(02:00:20):
here I go, you know. New York College professor Ariy
Nagel he has fathered more than eighty children and has
more on the way. Forty four year old educator has
made headlines in the past from his frequents eighty children
he's he has uh made frequent sperm donations, earned him
the nickname the Spermonator from national tabloids Rock. However, in
(02:00:43):
an interview Nagel gave the Claire Burn Live Show in
early March, he suggested the only father seventy eight children
and at the top of the end of your Nagel
said thirteen women were expecting to give birth to children
conceived from his sperm. Now the mothers he's done it.
It's spurred to live in the US or abroad and
almost conceived children through unofficial exmination and the sperm donation's
(02:01:04):
Nagle makes have a little bit free of charge. According
to multiple report and interviews that he has provided news
outlets over the year, the Sperminator, Wow, what a nickname.
That is crazy right there now on a Mother's Day,
and again, shout out to all the mothers out there,
especially mine. I adore my mom. She is absolutely awesome. Uh,
there aren't words to describe her. But these aren't Mothers
(02:01:27):
of the Year candidates, you know what I'm saying, like
the mother of the year candidates. So I'll take you
to Missouri. There's a woman that's been accused of hiring
a hit man to take out her former mother in law.
So she got she divorced, She's in a custody battle.
She thinks her ex and her former mother in law
are trying to take the kids. So she allegedly reached
out to a friend and asked if her friend could
(02:01:49):
find a hit man. She was willing to pay fifteen
hundred bucks. The friend recorded her and then reached out
to the police. She got busted. She's in custody in
charge with cheap. Yeah, she posted a bond of four
hundred thousand dollars, So yeah, fifteen hundred a little cheap
for that. Now I'll take you to uh Maryland. Here
(02:02:11):
a Maryland woman she set fire to her home and
she was watching it burn while sitting in a lawn
chair right outside the home. Now, she has three roommates.
Two were gone, but one of her roommates had to
crawl out of the burning building. She was charged with
get this andy, first and second degree attempted murder, first
degree arson, first degree assault, two counts of first degree
(02:02:34):
malicious burning, and other stuff. I don't have time for crazy.
Our time is a thank you for us. Have a
happy Mother's Day. We'll see you here next week. On
