Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening, Let's have some fun. Let's let our hair
down here. Clippers, any Clipper fans check it out the
show tonight. Congratulations finally finally going to the Western Conference Finals,
first time ever in franchise history. And they do it

(00:23):
an epic, memorable fashion, rallying from a twenty five point
deficit to beat the Fool's Gold Jazz. That's are a
little bit on the Fool's Gold Jazz in a second here,
but that's about the Clippers. It's about the Clippers outscoring
Utah by thirty four points in the second half. That's right,

(00:44):
outscored him by thirty four in the second half. And
I think this, if you're a gambler, let me talk
to the gamblers here really fast. If in tomorrow's game
between the Bucks and the Nets, if either team just
finds them selves down by like points, just about them.

(01:04):
Just your sports book of choice in game money line betted.
Because we have seen these crazy comebacks. You had Atlanta
come back from a twenty six point deficit, and then
on Friday night you saw the Clippers come back from
a point deficit. That is nuts, is just crazy. And

(01:27):
that game between the Jazz, I'm sorry, the foolest gold
Jazz and the Clippers. Unbelievable. It was two different games.
I don't know what it is with the Jazz, they're
allergic to the second half. The last two games, Games
five and six, Utah Game five, a couple of nights

(01:47):
ago shot the lights out from three point range. They
were seventeen of thirty and then in the second half
a couple of nights ago, they were three for twenty four.
You look at the Jazz on Friday night. They crushed
the Clippers in the second quarter, outscored him thirty nine

(02:09):
to nineteen. This is one of the craziest stats you
will hear. Jordan Clarkson himself in the second quarter outscored
the Clippers entire team twenty one to nineteen. And the
other part of that is as red hot as Jordan
Clarkson was in that second half, scoring twenty one points.

(02:32):
You know how many points he ended the game with one.
He did all his scoring in the second quarter, and
that was it. It was a rap. You can't make
this stuff up. Craziness at Staples Center on Friday night.
But the Jazz couldn't miss in the second quarter. And

(02:53):
then it was the Clippers turn they couldn't miss in
the second half. They scored eighty one points in the
second half. Terrence Man, good lord, Terrence Man getting a
shot with Kauai being down. Terrence Man scores thirty nine
points on fifteen of twenty one shooting. He drained seven threes.

(03:16):
He was magnificent. Terrence Man stepping up. And also Paul
George for all the negativity, all the criticism a playoff
p ha ha ha or pandemic p or my personal
favorite playoff PP. I'm surprise that one didn't catch on more.

(03:39):
But all these tongue in cheek trash talking nicknames for
Paul George, and I get it. He's had some clunkers,
but his reputation was far worse than the reality. I understand.
I'm well aware there's a four for sixteen in game
seven last year with okay see, he had some stinkers.

(04:03):
I know, I get it. He hasn't walked on playoff water,
but he has had some really good performances along the
way as well. Look at the last four games in
this series for Paul George, starting with Game four thirty
one points followed by I'm sorry would be Game three

(04:25):
thirty one points, followed by thirty one points, followed by
thirty seven, and then tonight going for twenty eight goodness
with no Kauai. Just think back when Kauai went down.
Series is tied to two. A lot of people didn't
have the Clippers winning another game and they went back

(04:45):
to back games. That's huge for Paul George, so he
deserves some props. The interesting thing to me is how
confidence ebbs and flows with a lot of athletes. There
are some athletes, those eight athletes. It's almost like Leonardo DiCaprio,
remember him and The Departed, where he's like, your hot

(05:07):
rate is jacked. I can't do a good Boston accent,
but neither can Leo, so I guess it works. Remember
he's sitting down in the office. He's like, your heart
rate is jacked, your hand steady like. And if you
apply that to confidence, there are some of the elite
athletes where their confidence is like the hand that doesn't shake.

(05:30):
They're always confident even if the results aren't there, even
if they have a bad game, even if their team
loses a game or a couple in the playoffs, and
they still remain confident. There are a lot of athletes,
some of them stars, some superstars. I think that Paul
George's confidence it's Ebden flowed. I think Janice's confidence it's

(05:55):
Ebdon flowed. We'll get to some audio with Janice going
into the play offs. He was asked about facing the
Miami Heat, the team that put him out last year,
and he's like, I don't know if it's gonna be
any different. I hope it will be, but I don't know.
We'll have to wait and see. Then you fast forward
to Game six that Milwaukee just won against the Nets,

(06:15):
and he's like, we're built for this. This is what
we're built for it. That's my whole point. The confidence,
it ebbs and flows. And with Paul George, that Game
five performance going for thirty seven, that was huge for
his confidence and he's just wrote that momentum, wrote it

(06:36):
into Game six and Terrence Man was unbelievable and the
Clippers pull it out. Shout out to them. I'm Brian
noe In for Jonas here on Fox Sports Radio. Now.
If you want some top shelf audio, Tehron Lou shout
out to him. He did a tremendous job in the series,

(06:58):
but he's got how would I say this just a
crazy idea about Laker fans and what he thinks they
should do now that they're at home watching the rest
of the playoffs. Here is Tylu just seeing our fans
and how they stayed till the end and how they
would cheer, and um, it just you know, it just
felt good. It was a great feeling, you know. And um,

(07:20):
like I said, a team and starving put some success.
The fan base has been doing the same thing, and
you know, UM to me, I just you know, I
always look at it differently, Like, you know, I know
the Lakers are out and as a lot of Laker
fans here, but once the Lakers are gone, if we're
not playing the Lakers, you should be cheering for the Clippers.
And that's just how I feel because all one city
and I can just feel to love and you know,
I'm just very happy and proud of our guys. Wow,

(07:46):
this is Tylu who's a former Laker. We all remember
Ai stepping over Tylu that was Lakers sixers in the finals.
He's a former Laker who's saying this. He knows deep
down there is no chance in holy hell any true

(08:09):
Laker fan would be caught dead rooting for the Clippers.
So yeah, in an idealistic world, like, yeah, it's a
nice idea, it's a happy idea. I feel like hugging
that idea. It'd be nice. We're in l A, you know,
root for the team here, we're all in the same city.
It doesn't work like that at all. That there there
would be nothing that please as a Laker fan more

(08:32):
then the Clippers losing in the playoffs in the most hideous,
heartbreaking fashion possible. So it's an entertaining SoundBite and it's
a happy idea, but that will never be happening in actuality,
never ever, ever, ever, But it's entertaining. Now if we

(08:53):
focus in on the Jazz for a second, I mean,
I'll hammer them coming up here shortly. But I want
to hear it from Donovan Mitchell. Donovan Mitchell shouldn't. He
doesn't have anything to be ashamed of. He balled out.
Look at what he did on Friday night, facing elimination.
He drops thirty nine points with nine rebounds and nine

(09:14):
assists on a bum ankle. So this, dude, I mean,
he gave it his all. And I know that sounds
incredibly cheesy. It sounds like a Hallmark card. You just
need sappy piano music underneath that. He gave it his all.
You can just picture me kind of shaking my right
fist like, by golly, he gave it his all. It
sounds cheesy, but it's true. On a bum wheel, he

(09:38):
drops thirty nine, nine and nine. Thank you, Chris, that's
well done. But let me try it again. This man,
Donovan Mitchell, he gave it as all. He gave it
the old college try. He reached back deep into the
well and by George, she gave it as all. It's

(10:04):
well done by you, Chris. Love the sappy violin. Nice
touch by you. Now let's hear from Donovan Mitchell. Uh
talking about this year's loss to the Clippers compared to
last year's loss against the Nuggets. This hurts more than
last year because we were up again and lost again.

(10:26):
And that that this this is gonna eat at meat
for a long time watching the lake like up the
Clippers and the Sons playing the conference finals and even
watching the finals like this was made. It had an
incredible regular season, made so many pushes him and continue
to fight like man like this is gonna eat at

(10:46):
me when I even when I go to the grocery store.
I'm gonna be thinking about this, like you know what
I mean, Like this is wow. Yeah, it's rough. Man.
He put everything out there, playing through pain, the whole thing.
To get that close and to come up short again,
it is man. It is brutal and you can tell,

(11:07):
you can see it. He's such a great competitor to
come up short again. Yeah, absolutely, it's rough. Rips your
guts out. You know what's funny? All the negativity about
the Clippers last year kicking away a three one lead,
right they were leading the Nuggets three one, you know,

(11:29):
no the rest they dropped three straight games, crashed and burned,
and it was just this team Kawai Leonard, Paul George,
preferential treatment, They're not on the same page, lack of chemistry,
all kinds of noise, and some of it was coming
from them, some of it was their own doing. But
you know what's funny. You know who else blew a

(11:50):
three one lead. That would be the Utah Jazz. And
you know who they blew that three one lead to
the same team. The Clippers blew their three one lead
to the Denver Nuggets. You know all we heard all offseason. Ah,
the Clippers blowing at three one lead, the Utah Jazz
did the same thing. It's amazing they didn't take more

(12:14):
heat than that. And I know, I know, a lot
of people had the Clippers winning a championship and they
were like jilted lovers, That's what it was. A lot
of people stuck their necks out and said, Clippers is
gonna win a championship and then they lost their three
one lead and it turned into just seeing red anger.
It was freaking Clippers over. But the Jazz blew the

(12:40):
same lead and you don't even remember it. Most likely
it's like, oh yeah, oh shoot, I totally forgot. Yeah yeah.
So these teams were a lot closer than they appeared.
Clippers moving on. By the way, I'll get to the
Fool's Gold Jazz here in a second, but real quick note.

(13:00):
So I'm just gonna spend like thirty seconds of your
time here. But I've done a local show in Portland
for three years and it came to an end today. Um.
I had a bit of an advanced notice because the
contract with the Blazers wasn't renewed, so the TV station
I worked for is going away. Momentarily um, and I

(13:22):
didn't know it's gonna be my last day. And I
just wanted to say, for anybody in the Portland area,
thank you for listening. I always say hashtag supporting the show.
It was a pleasure, it was a treat. I really
enjoyed my time here. But I feel it's important to
say goodbye, you know, right, like not like bye bye,
but I'll be around, just still hear me on the
weekends and filling stuff and all that good goodness. But

(13:45):
I i'd just like a three year relationship. You don't
just if you're dating a girl for three years, you
don't just believe, like not even say bye, not even
a text like it's been real good luck, you're right,
like you're just gone. So nothing but love for NBC
Sports Northwest, nothing but love for Fox Sports Radio in

(14:06):
my shift over here. But I just wanted to say
that to the p d X shout out Pacific Northwest.
Really enjoyed it. So that's it, short and simple, but
nothing but love. All good Hey, Discover matches all the

Also on Twitter at the No Show is where you
can reach me. Okay, coming up next, It's not just
me going scorched or on the Fool's Gold Jazz. Wait
till you hear what this person had to say about
the Jazz in general. It is highly entertaining. We'll get

(15:10):
to that. I'm Brian no keep it locked right here
on Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio has the best

I'm Brian No here on Fox Sports Radio. So I
just saw this stat tweeted out by ESPN talking about

(15:35):
the Clippers trailing by twenty five points against the Jazz
on Friday night, and it just reads tonight was the
largest comeback in a series, clinching win over the last
twenty five seasons. Nobody has ever come back from twenty
plus down to win a series in that span. Here's
the real kicker entering tonight. The Jazz were two hundred

(15:59):
third e two and one over the last twenty five
seasons when leading by twenty five plus points. Picked a
bad time, Picked a bad time to add to that
lost total. Right, I guess they're what now two thirty
two and two over the last twenty five years when
leading by twenty five plus points. Ouch ouch ouch ouch.

(16:24):
But I have to say it. I was calling them
the fool's Gold Jazz, and they proved me right. And
I'm not taking delight in their misery. I'm just saying
this is the truth. When you're facing a cowhilist Clippers
team and you dropped two games in a row to

(16:46):
lose the series, you are fools gold. The truth is
what the Jazz. They were a try hard regular season team.
That's what they were. And look, I love when it's
team gives great effort. That isn't a bad thing. I
would never make it out to be a bad thing.

(17:06):
But when you get into the playoffs and your effort
level is matched by your opponent, oh well, that changes everything,
because you can win a lot of games in the
regular season by just giving better effort, just by showing

(17:27):
up and caring. And the Jazz did, to their credit.
Again not a bad thing, but they were using the
regular season to try to prove themselves. They had a
bad taste in their mouths. They gave up that three
one lead against the the Nuggets in the first round
of the playoffs, and that just ate at them. And

(17:48):
so they were smelling blood during the regular season right there, like,
let's prove ourselves, let's give it great effort. That's a
good thing. But when their effort level was matched in
the playoffs, well, they don't have the same advantage anymore.
That's what it really comes down to. And that's why
I didn't buy in. I didn't buy into the try

(18:12):
hard Jazz. And I also thought that Donovan Mitchell I
didn't think he could be special every single game. And look,
he was pedestrian in Game five he scored twenty one points.
He was special tonight, played really well facing elimination thirty nine,
nine and nine. Can't drop your head for any of that.

(18:32):
That was a tremendous performance, But twenty one points in
Game five, it was silly to think that when he
came out Gangbusters Game one, forty five points, next game
thirty seven points. There's no way there you're gonna be
able to maintain that pace and quote unquote pivotal Game five.
That was the stinker for his caliber of play. I mean,

(18:58):
twenty one point is not a stinker for just anybody, right,
but it was for him because he's that special of
a player. And also, if you look at the Clippers,
something else to like about them. If you trace back
to the series against the MAVs in the first round,

(19:18):
defense wasn't good in the first two games. They gave
up a hundred and twenty points on average the first
two games, and then the next five games they gave
up an average of one hundred point four points. That's
right with Luca. They could barely score. You know, you're
talking decimal points and all that. They're right out a

(19:38):
hundred points. So the defense of the Clippers not the
greatest in the second quarter, but they did a much
better job in the second half. Look at Utah's point totals.
Third quarter twenty two points, fourth quarter twenty five points.
You'll take that all day long. And the Clippers without

(20:01):
Kawhi Leonard played good defense in Game five. Also, so
I just didn't buy the fool's gold Jazz. Now I
did mention there were some tweets that were pretty funny.
It's from Vernon Maxwell, former NBA player. He's just roasting
the jazz on Twitter. A couple of his tweets caught

(20:22):
my eye. He's got this one pinned to his Twitter page.
It just says I'd like to apologize jazz fans that
were offended by my tweets. If I knew you guys
had internet in Utah, I would have never made those tweets.
Pretty good. Also, simplistic America wins when Utah loses. Easy

(20:45):
to understand that one. Also this one. They asked Dennis
Rodman if he had a choice of living in Utah
or North Korea, and he chose dot dot dot. And
it's just a picture of Rodman with him jung un.
So it's throwing shade, throwing shade at Utah, kicking them

(21:06):
while they're down. But it was entertaining. I can't lie
to you. I can't sit here and say, oh, I
didn't get any laughs out of that. That nothing, No laughs. Um, Okay,
we'll shift to some other stories beyond the Clippers and
the Jazz coming up next. But my man k Fig

(21:27):
in with us tonight doing the updates. Always a pleasure.
We'll talk Raiders football at some point tonight because that's
how k Fig gets down. But what should we know
right now? In the sporting world here, always a pleasure
working with the ice man, Brian No, I love it.
I love it. Tell the people why do you call
me that? Because the first time we met, we shook

(21:47):
hands and I thought my my basically my right hand
froze over. It was ridiculous. He's a Mr. Freeze and
karn it. Brian know is the coldest human being I've
ever met. But I mean that in the physical sense.
He's a warmhearted person. But my god, I don't know
if you've been sticking your hands in ice chest or what, brother,
but it's something going on there. There is. I don't know.
And thank you for the compliments. Very nice of you,

(22:07):
k Figure, great dude, yourself, very warm dude, but you
have the warmer hands the night dude we have just
like fist bumped and my hand was so cold, you
like retracted, like, oh my gosh, no, what is happening?
Just think about how can you feel somebody else's knuckles
if you fist bump. That's how cold my hands were
at the time. It really is unreal about is uh

(22:30):
as cold as the Usah Jazz were in the second
half against the Clippers? How about that transition there, Brian,
first time in franchise history, Thank you, Chris. For the
first time in franchise history. The Clippers headed to the
Western Conference Finals. They fell behind by twenty five points
in the third quarter. They're led by a rookie Terrence
Man stepping in place of the injury Kawhi Leonard, getting
his second consecutive start. He scored a career high thirty

(22:53):
nine points as the Clipper stage that furious comeback, came
away with a one thirty one to one nineteen victory
over Utah Paul George ditchip in twenty eight for the Clippers.
They will take on the Suns in Phoenix in Game
one of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday. Speaking of Sunday,
we will have a Game seven in the Eastern Conference
second round. The seventies six or staving off elimination with
a one oh four to ninety nine victory over the

(23:14):
Hawks Tobias Harris and Seth Curry with twenty four points each.
They will go back to Philadelphia for a game seven.
Second round at the US Open. Richard Blanch shot a
four under sixty seven for the round. He has tied
for the top spot along with Russell Henley, Louis Eustas
and shot in even par seventy one. He has one
stroke off the lead on the Diamond Dodgers, scoring all
three of their runs in the eighth inning fourth three
nothing victory over Arizona Giants. Twenty games over five, best

(23:37):
record in the National League. They beat the Phillies five
to three. Astro's Braves and Angels with victories in the NHL.
Speaking of the ice, Montreal beating Las Vegas three to
two on overtime, taking a two one series lead in
the Western Conference Finals. Back to Brian No, Thank you,
k Fig. I'm Brian No in for Jonas here on
Fox Sports Radio. Um So, if I hearken back to

(24:00):
us to the Utah game for a second, I'm gonna
use that as a transition. Okay. If you look at
Mike Conley, he was a non factor. He scored five
points on one for eight shooting. That's right, he was
one for eight from the field, had the bad hamstring,
So I would look at that. I think it's like

(24:21):
a bad forecast. Think about this when it comes to
the weather, and depending on where you live, you might
be able to relate to this. Even more so. I
am from South Bend, Indiana. So if the weather dude says, oh, yeah,
not a cloud in the sky, gonna be a picturesque day,
it might be a thunderstorm mixed with the tornado. That's

(24:43):
just how our weather is. If it's oh, it's gonna
be cold, rainy, it's gonna sleep, it's gonna be seventies
six and just gorgeous like it typically happens that way.
So a bad forecast doesn't necessarily me mean that's going
to be how it plays out in actuality. But I

(25:05):
think with Mike Conley and the bad Hammy and the
bad performance in Game six as the Jazz were eliminated,
I think it's a bad Hammy forecast for one. James Harden,
I think that's what it is. Game seven, Bucks Nets
Stewart die, You've got a hobbled hardened he is hobbled

(25:29):
right now. He's not even close to the same guy.
What makes Hardened special is that he can step back
on you and drain threes, and he also can drive
to the rim at will, and you can't do anything.
He's too boxy. He can get you on his hip,
he can just kind of nudge you out of the way.
You can't get him off center. You know the whole

(25:50):
thing with him. But he's not able to drive right now.
He's not close to the same guy. And no Kyrie
Irving in game seven. So you've got hobbled Harden, no
Kyrie and what you need k D to go off again.
I understand that not every game plays out the same way.

(26:13):
Maybe you get a contribution from Joe Harris and he's
off the milk carton there's no longer an a p B.
Where's Joe Harris. Maybe he's making some shots. He's a
knockdown three point shooter, and he looks like like a
slightly better version than Ben Simmons. That might be a
little unfair, unfair he's like giving you one for four

(26:36):
from three point range. That's this is one of the
deadliest shooters we have in basketball, and is confidence is
shot right now. The whole point is this. Maybe Joe
Harris is hitting some shots. Maybe Blake Griffin plays good
again like he did in Game five. Maybe Jeff Green contributes.

(26:57):
Who knows, But think about this. When you're thinking about
Game seven, think back to Game five. Kevin Durant had
one of the all time stud performances in the playoffs
forty nine points, seventeen boards, ten assists, the only player

(27:20):
in NBA history during the playoffs to go for forty
five plus and ten. Insane what he did. And yet
that was a game that was Janice fumbling a ball
down by two points with fifteen seconds to go. That's
how close it was, even with Kevin Durant moving basketball,

(27:44):
heaven and Earth, and it still came down to the end.
So the point is, what's the likelihood that k D
runs it back? What's the likelihood that lightning strikes again?
And it very well may need to for the Nets
to pull it out. I don't like their chances. I

(28:07):
think it's hashtag fear the Deer in this one. I
think they're going on to the Eastern Conference Finals. And look,
I'm not gonna sit here and b SU, I'm not
gonna be like man. When you think about clutch and
just ice water in the veins. You think the Milwaukee Bucks,
No you don't. I'm not gonna insult your intelligence. You
know better than that. But here's how it breaks down.

(28:29):
In my mind. I just like the nets less. Sometimes
that's the way you pick a winner. It's not just
all Bucks all day. I'll look at these strengths in
Middleton and go blah blah. It's not just that. It's
I like the nets chances less because they're hobbled and

(28:51):
they don't play great defense. And I don't think you
can expect a whole lot out of Harden. And if
you look at k D, if you just glance at
what he did kind of interesting in this series. The
forty nine point spectacular performance. That is the great outlier.
In all of the other games, all five other games,
he hasn't scored more than thirty two points. And again

(29:14):
that's it's really good. Thirty two points is nothing to
sneeze at. But he's gone for thirty two thirty two, thirty. Yeah,
a couple of games in the twenties in this series.
So to expect k D to drop somewhere around fifty,

(29:38):
good luck with that special player. He might but i'mn't
ftting against it. It's only happened one time that any
player ever has put up the numbers that k D
put up in Game five, and yet it was still
a coin flip game. I think it's going to Milwaukee,

(30:00):
I do. I think they're coming back in winning games
six and seven, sort of like the Clippers how they
did it last series against Dallas. I think that's what happens.
I think we're looking at Janie and Milwaukee moving on.
I'm sure if I'm wrong, I will. I'll hear from
a couple of you get Jodas back here, who's this

(30:22):
hack with this terrible predictions? And I'll hear something along
those lights and yeah, right exactly. They might even hashtag
at that, this SEFN guy. But yeah, it's yeah, it's
just the joys of doing overnight radio. It's just you
can feel the love. I feel, just a collective embrace,

(30:44):
especially when you fill in right like it's not your
regular shift. There's no vibe of like, where's the normal guy?
Nothing like that. It's they really really love me. Yeah, positive,
just a collective thumbs up. You know, if there wasn't COVID,
we would absolutely hug on you right now. But we'll
we'll just give you a solid kind of like forceful

(31:06):
thumbs up, like good on you. No, alright? Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, My guy Nick Battaglia. He's
looking at the phones and he's like, I they haven't changed, Brian,
They're just they're sitting here. I hit the button. They're open,
they could call in. They just I don't know. It's

(31:28):
one of two things. They they either have better things
to do, or or they hate your guts, or or
let's go positive. Maybe they're just listening. They're kicking back
and listening. Who knows, but feel free to participate. Eight
seven seven on Fox eight seven seven nine six three
six nine. Okay, so there were there were shots fired

(31:55):
about a current head coach. Pretty entertaining stuff. So I'll
throw that at you right around the corner. I'm Brian
no keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
I'm Brian noin for Jonas here on Fox Sports Radio.
You know, it's funny. Most of the music you play, Chris,
and I work with Chris on Sunday mornings. I can
picture you just driving around l A blasting this music,

(32:20):
just like groove into it. I don't know if you
hit the steering wheel. I don't know what your mannerisms are,
but I can just picture you jamming out to this.
Chris am I right, it's not far from the truth.
I'm pretty sure that's right on the money, right there.
Someone's gonna play something other than rap blasting out of
cars sometimes, you know. Yeah, well that's true. You can
mix it up and blastsom rap. You know you could

(32:41):
do that. I don't really like much of it besides
like maybe run the jewels and a couple other things.
That's it. You Wow, you abstain. No, I just I
grew up with too many Like I mean, I grew up.
I shouldn't say this around you because I feel like
it's red bait to you. But I grew up with
too many guitarists, So I don't know. I just like instruments, okay, alright,

(33:02):
nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with it. By the way,
I got a tweet before I get to the calls here,
so cal musician shout out hits me up at the
no show. Brian, thanks for filling in tonight. Please note
that the g in battalia is silent. First off, props

(33:23):
to so cal musician setting me straight. It's my guy,
Nick Battalia. I went with a G. I went with
how it's actually spelled, and come to find out, Nick's
like that that's right, just Battalia. And the funny thing
is I hammered Jonas because he screws up k FIG's
name all the time. He calls him Kevin Figures. It's Figures.

(33:46):
It's f I G G E R S. Right. I
think that's how it's spelled, right, k fig there's no you,
that's Figures, Like who was it? Was it Dion seven Figures?
Remember he played for the Steelers Healers. Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's not k Figg's name. He goes Figures, And so
I'm like, get it right right when I fill in,

(34:08):
I'm like, do you ever go ahead? Jonas? To get
it right? Jonas? And then I screw up nixt name.
I will say to jonadit whatever you like there, Jonas,
I will say it to your credit or to Jonas's credit,
since you called him out on that, he has he
has been better about pronounced my name properly. Got the memo.
I have you to thank for that, Brian Well, I'm
here for you. K figure. You know, I'm like, I'm

(34:29):
your unofficial agent. I think i'd be a good agent.
Don't you You need to freaking hire this guy over here?
What's wrong with you? I'd be more like a drill
sergeant agent. Yeah, okay, let's go out to the phones here.
Marco is in Rosemead very excited about the Clippers. And
why wouldn't you be if you're a die hard Clippers fan.

(34:50):
What's going on? Marco hey doing? Gentleman? This is Mark
from Rose Mean and I gotta say that this has
been decacious to outs from from the Clipper need get
after years, I'm about to cry, man, after years or
years of following my Clippers since Danny Manning and Run
Harper in in everybody to play Griffin, Chris Paul and

(35:11):
now that the new crew that we have, I mean
demand uh p G thirteen Kauai everybody, man, everybody, the
coach time. Man. After years, this has beendication because I've
been taking crap for years from my brothers. Man. I
got three brothers, Hector, Gustavo and Polo, And for years
there are Lakers, their Lakers fans, and I've been taking

(35:32):
ol their crap for years now if you shop it
down the throat and this the Clipper nation, it's a
Clipper town, baby, we're taking over. Well, you got a
little bit too far there, Marco, thanks for checking it.
It's not it's not a Clipper town. Come on, it's
always going to be a Laker town. But hey, I'm
reigning on the parade. I shouldn't do that. This is

(35:53):
all about the Clippers tonight. Just let it flow. Just
if there's ever a time to say in accurate things,
now is the time. Finally getting to the Western Conference Finals,
first time ever, and it's just funny. Going back to
Tyler's comments, he said, now that the Clippers are out
of the playoffs, they're in the same city, they should
root for the Clippers. Come on, Lakers, root for the Clippers.

(36:17):
It's like, there's no chance that will happen. All these
Laker fans. Yeah, they're like, shut up. You guys are
embarrassing yourselves. You're going crazy just getting to the Western
Conference Finals. We're hanging banners here. We almost have you know,
we always have twenty. We're closer to twenty than you

(36:37):
are to five. Yeah, they're not trying to hear that.
I like the rivalry. I don't want, you know, I
don't want a town where Yankee fans are shoulder to
shoulder with with Mets fans. That's just wrong. I don't
want to town where like Laker fans and Clipper fans
or passing each other on the freeway and you see

(37:00):
a Clippers flag and you're like, hey, buddy, yeah, congratulations
on the Western Conference finals. Man, I don't have a
Laker fan over here. No vomiting. Yeah, not the way
it's It's like if I went back home in Michigan
and Michigan State fans are hanging out together, no one. Yeah, yeah, sacrilegious.
How about Duke in North Carolina? Right? You ever think

(37:23):
they're gonna be game to play? I'm just think in
close proximity, of course, was Clippers Lakers same time. You
get a lot more in college just because you've got
big brother little brother in the states. Yeah, all over
the place. Yeah, absolutely, ty lewis out of his freaking mind. Yeah,

(37:44):
Laker fans, you're not doing anything for the Clippers for
the same town. That's the way it should be. Yeah.
Nice thought, not gonna happen real fast. I saw this
tweet from Jason Smith. So they were talking to Olden Polonies,
former NBA player Love Holden, Funny, dude, smart, he's great.
And the tweet just says this is old and talking

(38:07):
about Doc Rivers. If Doc Rivers was coaching this game
for the Clippers, they'd have lost the series three games ago. Wow,
that's Olden's take if the Clippers still had Doc Rivers
as head coach. I mean, listen, some of the Doc negativity.

(38:29):
You could point to a handful of things and say, Doc,
what are you doing? Man? Come on, do better. But
I go back to Game seven last year when Kawai
Leonard and Paul George were no shows against Denver. That's
on your stars, that's not on Doc. There's only so
much Doc can do if the stars don't come to play.
So I think some of the negativity goes a little

(38:51):
bit too far, a little bit too far. I let
me work in one more here, real fast. We're up
against it. We've got at least a solid minute. Paul
is in Albany, he's got some hoops thoughts for us.
What's going on? Paul? Yeah, I was calling to see
what you're thought about the um Brooklyn nets in game
seven of all against the books. I think Paul hashtag

(39:14):
fear the Deer. I think this has Bucks written all
over it. I don't like the Nets shorthanded, No Kyrie
hobbled harden. I don't think you can expect k D
to go scorched Earth again the way he did in
game five. I think the Bucks take it home. It's
my thought on the matter. Yeah, Paul was like, that's

(39:38):
not the answer I was looking for, and to show it,
I'm hanging up. I'm out of here. You know. I'm
thinking he's going with the Nets, just by the way
he positioned that question. Right, if you just name one team,
I'm pretty sure that's the team you're probably pulling for
general rule of thumb, right, I think that's the way

(39:59):
it goes. Oh, coming up, we got a lot to
do here. We're just getting started. So interesting the huge comeback,
how it affects the next series with Paul George and
health and safety protocols, And think about that. From the
Sun's point of view, the Suns are like, oh my gosh,
Jazz are just crushing the Clippers. Doesn't look like we're

(40:22):
playing on Sunday, And it's like, oh shoot, we're playing
on Sunday. Yeah, because we gotta get our heads straight.
Also coming up, you might accuse me of being buzz Killington,
but I think I'm right. Fox Sports Radio has the

I hope you're enjoying your Saturday morning early hours. Baby. Oh,
let's get crazy. Clippers punching their ticket to the Western

(41:30):
Conference Finals first time ever, never happened before, So I
think this too. Sometimes you get hope if you root
for a team that stinks out loud maybe the Clippers
finally doing something seemingly a cursed franchise. It gives you

(41:53):
a little bit of hope. Right, Chris is a Lions fan.
I was just thinking, what's the equipped went? What would
be the equivalent of the Clippers getting to the Western
Conference Finals first time ever and the game they do
it in they were trailing by twenty five points? Is
this a fair equivalent? Would this be like the Detroit

(42:16):
Lions getting to the NFC Championship game when they were
trailing by three touchdowns in the divisional round. That's a
pretty good comparison, right, Might not be perfect, but pretty good,
Pretty good, I would say it's along those lines. Think
about Lions fans, how they would be going ballistic if
they're trailing by three touchdowns, come back, win the game,

(42:38):
and they're heading to the NFC title game. That's what
we have with the Clippers right now. And it's even
I think more so with the Clippers because they've been
teased way more, way more, where they've had some good
squads Lob City and Chris Paul's injured and then they've
got another chance and Chris ball was injured again. You

(43:01):
name it, it's gone sideways in some crazy ways. The
Rockets epic comeback. You know their whole history, it's not great,
but they've had some good teams that were capable of
making significant noise, only to have your heart ripped out.
So if you've gone through the bad times, man, tonight

(43:22):
is sweet for Clippers fan. The one bad thing is
without Kauai. It's an uphill battle and I don't know
that he's gonna be back. Man. When you start mentioning
the initials A C L, it's one of those things.
Remember back in the day, anytime Dr James Andrews was mentioned,

(43:43):
it's like, Oh, that's that's not good. I believe we
lost Brian No will get him back on the hook
here coming up in just a second wild night in
the NBA on Friday night, obviously, the Clippers major comeback
victory over the utah as An, advancing to the Western
Conference Finals for the first time in their franchise's history. Uh,

(44:05):
it's a big moment in the city of Los Angeles.
People might say, well, the city of l A Is
buzzing over the Clippers gigantic victory. And I know for
anybody that's in the city of Los Angeles, you may say, well,
you know what, buzzing is probably a strong word to use.
I think it's a strong, strong factor for the Clippers
themselves as an organization, for them to get a major victory,
to kind of get over the hump fifty one year history,

(44:26):
and they're able to actually get over the hump and
make it into the conference finals for the first time.
But I gotta tell you, for someone who's been in
Los Angeles, uh, from my entire professional life, the Clippers
have been on the back burner and it's been a
Laker town, and it's gonna continue to be a Laker town.
Look regardless, even if the Clippers somehow miraculously found a
way to win the championship the year, it'll still be
a Laker city. And I know that. Jason Smith and

(44:48):
Mike Harmon here on the Fox Sports Radio Network earlier
on Friday, you know, we're talking about a quote that
Tyler had after the games saying a little Laker fans
should want the Clippers to win, or you know the
you know Tyler who played for the Lakers back in
the day one a couple of championships say, you know,
if if your team is out of it, you should
want to pull for a team that's in your city,

(45:10):
And I guess for some people that would make sense,
but for most it really doesn't. Now I come out
of from a different perspective. I say, if you're a
Laker fan, I put it in the same vein as
if you're a Yankee fan, or if you know, if
you're a team of of the the big boy in
a particular town or city, generally speaking, I think you
really wouldn't concern yourself with the lesser team. And this
is no disrespect to the Clippers, this is no disrespect

(45:31):
to the Mets or the Jets. But let's keep it
clear what who the big dogs are in these particular markets.
And if I'm looking at it from the perspective of
a Laker fan who was not just trying to be
a Clipper hater, because those are two separate things, at
least most of the time, although if you check social
media there's a lot of Laker fans who are who
very much basque in the Choden freud of the Clippers
whenever bad things happened to them. However, I look at

(45:54):
it from the standpoint of if you're a Laker fan,
why would you even concern yourself with what the Clippers
are doing. I would give them a off clap, congratulations.
That's really cool. You guys happen to make it to
the Western Conference Finals, a place where the Lakers have
been a trillion times in their history. Even if the
Clippers found a way to win a championship this year,
good for you. You still got sixteen or seven teen

(46:15):
more to go to catch up. So it's just very
interesting from the standpoint of if you're a smaller team,
If you're the Clippers, of course, you don't want the
Lakers to win because you just fall further behind. You know,
if you're the Jets, you don't want the Giants winning
more championships. You fall further behind. Same thing for the
Mets and the Yankees. I think it should be viewed
a little bit differently. When you are the big dog

(46:36):
in a particular market, you have nothing to lose. If
you're the Yankees, if the Mets win the championship, bragging
rights for a year, all right, great, we all know
who the marquis franchise is. Mets are playing better than
Yankees right now? Does that really matter in the grand scheme?
You know, it's gonna dominate more talk. I'll speak of
this from personal experience when it comes to the Lakers
and the Clippers specifically. You know, the Clippers were destroying

(46:58):
the Lakers for almost a decade. You had the Lob
City Clippers who Brian Knows just talking about a second ago,
who were very exciting, winning fifty plus games a year,
and the Lakers were terrible. The Lakers are you know,
had Kobe Bryant who had m c L tair a
c L tear. They're running out D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson,
a young Jordan Clarkson, not the one who won six
Man of the Year for Utah this year, and a

(47:19):
bunch of also rans, and they were getting run off
the floor routinely by the Clippers, losing by twenty thirty
points every single season. And you know what, it didn't matter.
People cared more to talk about what the Lakers were
going to do to get back to a championship level
and talking about what the Clippers were going to do
to propel themselves passed the first round, second round of

(47:40):
the postseason, which of course they were able to do
for the first time this particular year. So I guess
that would be my particular question when it comes to
this topic. I would under I would ask the question, why,
if you're the top dog in a particular city, why
you would even concern yourself with what the lesser team
or the team that has has hasn't had as much
success as your team has had. You know what was

(48:02):
the George R. R. Martin quote about I believe as
a lion doesn't concern himself with sheep, and I guess
I would say if you're why would a giant concern
itself with a nant? If you're a Markey franchise, you
don't worry about what the lesser team is doing. If anything,
maybe it indangures more competition for you. If you're the
Lakers and the Clippers win, maybe it puts a little
more pressure for you to say, you know what, they've

(48:23):
actually caught up. You know they're doing something, They're making
some moves. This is not just a pretty little Clipper
team that's making into the second round and losing every year. Again.
They make us some inroads, and it puts more pressure
for you to get better. I think a healthy rivalry
is always better. You know, the Red Sox or I
should say, the Yankees pushed the Red Sox to get
better in the early two thousands, and it turned into

(48:45):
those great Yankee Red Sox rivalries that we had in
two thousand and three and two thousand and four in
the a LCS, and that carried on years after that
and propelled the Red Sox to to breaking the curse
and having many dynasty of their own where they won
three or four World Series over the last fifteen years
or so. Competition only breeds better competition, it allows your

(49:07):
rival to get better. So, if I'm a Laker fan,
and full disclosure growing up in Los Angeles, I I
was and I am, I actually am happy for the
Clippers to finally get some success, to get the monkey
off their back, to actually make some moves and do
something positive. At this point, you know, it's very easy
to punch down at someone who's who's struggling a little bit,
but you're sharing the same building with each other. We've

(49:30):
been robbed many, many times of being able to see
the Lakers and the Clippers have Hallway Series against each other.
Thought they were gonna have it last year. Obviously you
at the bubble situation didn't happen. The Clippers petered out
blew a three one series lead. Lakers and all their
injury issues. Obviously, we're not able to get over the
hup against the Phoenix Suns in the first round. Not
able to see it this year. But as a Laker fan,

(49:53):
I'm actually happy that the Clippers are actually able to
make some in rows and get into some rated territory
and actually possibly get themselves in a position and well, look,
I think they have a legitimate chance to make it
to the NBA Finals. No one knows what the health
status of Chris Paul is going to be moving forward
into the next series. We know he had the shoulder
issue against the Lakers in the first couple of games
that he was able to pull through, and then obviously

(50:14):
just played absolutely out of his mind in the second
round against Denver. Now he's dealing with the covert protocols
and no one knows how that's going to affect him
in the first couple of games. You would believe, you
would think, even if you were to be vaccinated, which
I know Matt Barnes said earlier this week that Chris
Paul told him he had been vaccinated, he's still in
covert protocol there's still certain hurdles he has to overcome

(50:38):
before he can be clear to actually play in the game,
and I doubt those hurdles will be cleared by Sunday now.
I know Monty Williams said earlier this week that they
will have his status update by later today. But however,
I believe it's unlikely that Chris Paul will be able
to play in Game one, which is huge. Now the
playing field might be loved a little bit. You have
Chris Paul potentially out for the Phoenix Sons. You have

(51:01):
the Clippers who most likely will not have Kawhi Leonard
in the lineup, still has been ruled out for the postseason.
But if you're talking about a potential a c L injury,
even if it's not fully torn at this point in time,
that's not something that you want to flirt with. You know,
he's an impending free agent, has an opt out this offseason,
could potentially walk in free agency. I don't think he'd
want to put himself at risk of suffering a serious injury,

(51:24):
nor with the Clippers knowing that he's the cornerstone of
the franchise, somebody that they want to be able to
build their franchise around, not only this year, but in
the future. So it's something I've we even discussed on
our local affiliate and five seventy l A Sports this
week was whether or not even a Kawhi Leonard was
say see able to go? Is that something that you'd

(51:44):
be willing to risk if you're the Clippers, knowing how
much he means to your future moving forward? And quite honestly,
I don't know if that's something that I would do
if I was the Clippers organization. You know, they were
able to muster up really deep and get great performances
these last couple of games. Paul George was absolutely amazing
in Game five, was very good in Game six. Obviously,

(52:05):
Terrence Man, you're not gonna expect him to get you
thirty nine points every single night. Reggie Jackson has been
huge for them going into the Western Conference Finals. I
have not seen the early lines as of yet. I
would assume that Phoenix being arrested, well arrested, mostly healthy,
Chris Paul is gonna return at some point during the series.
They're likely gonna be favored, but as Brian mentioned, this

(52:26):
Clipper team has been resilient all season long, falling down
O two to the Dallas Mavericks. You know, fall coming
back and falling down O two in this series against
Shootah and finding way to come back and win four
straight games against the team with the best record in
the entire league. It's a testament to Tyre lewis a
testament to the Clippers, and they're fighting their resolve. You

(52:48):
just wonder if they have enough in the tank to
be able to win four games against a Phoenix Sun team.
It's one of those where they're outside of Chris Paul
h and maybe Jay Crowder, who has had some post
season experience in the past as well, it's a pretty
team without a lot of experience. So that's something that
I'm intrigued, really intrigued to see as we move forward
into the Western Conference and if we go back to

(53:08):
the Eastern Conference a little bit from Friday night, the
Philadelphia seventies six is able to also be able to
dig deep and get themselves a victory against Atlanta, had
another big lead that they almost gave away, but found
a way to to man up and get themselves a
victory to Bias Harris finally showed up for them. Ben
Simmons still has his his shortcomings to say the least.

(53:28):
And I've had questions about Ben Simmons and his viability
as a major option a franchise Cornerstone star next to
Joel and Beat for for a while now. And at
this point in time, even despite the seventies sixer is
forcing in Game seven and look, they can find themselves
in the conference finals by the time we get to
Sunday night. Just how far can you go? How long

(53:50):
is the least gonna be with Ben Simmons performing the
way that he's been performing for the seventies sixers. Are
they gonna be able to win a championship with he
enjoyl and Beat as franchise Warnerstones. That's something that remains
to be seen. We're going to uh step aside for
a second. Here. This is the No Show, Brian No
filling in for Jonas Knox. Kevin Figures here with you

I speak into a microphone. I don't know how to
do anything beyond that. You know, it's funny. I'll give
you a quick story because I was having some technical issues,
but I think we got it ironed out. I was
a program director for about like five years a couple

(54:56):
of different places, and it was funny. Every now and
then the station would be off the air and listeners
would hit me up, like, get your station back on
the air. Like when I first started out in Fresno,
we had Jim Rome. Man, they would freak if something
happened in Jim Rome wasn't on the air. Get round
back on the air. And I would tell him. I'd
be like, um, here's my area of expertise. I say, hey,

(55:21):
Dave Case, the station's off the air, and then Dave
Case works is brainiac magic and gets us back on
the year. That's it. That's all I can control. So
I learned a couple of minutes ago that red spikes
are bad. Red spikes mean that's not a good sign

(55:41):
right there. As far as the connection goes, that's it.
That's all I have. The only area of expertise. I
unplug things and plug it back in and then I'm like,
did that do it? And if it doesn't, I'm like,
that's that's really my only troubleshooting skill. Okay, let me
throw this out at you. Now, you might think that
I'm being Buzz Killington, the great character from Family Guy.

(56:07):
I love this character. Now, who here likes a good
story about the bridge? Yeah, you might think I'm being
that guy here, but I think this topic is fascinating.
So Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, he heard about
the story of the viral video. There were fisticuffs. We're

(56:32):
talking a real Donny Brook over here. In game three
it was Nuggets Sons in Denver. Fight breaks out in
the stands Suns fan gets a beer poured on him,
gets a cheap shot punch thrown at him, and Suns
fans says, oh, okay, you want to play like that,

(56:52):
and he gives them the one too combo, which turns
into the three, four, five, six, seven eight combo. A
couple of upper cuts at the end of this thing,
he was just he wailed on this guy, right, And
so Devin Booker of the Sun's he puts on Twitter,
He's like, need man's info, and you knew what was

(57:13):
coming next. He was gonna hook him up. That's what happened.
Devin Booker said, here's a signed Booker jersey, and here
are some tickets to the Western Conference Finals. I don't
know how many games, might be just one single game.
I don't know the particulars. But he gets a jersey
and he gets tickets to at least one game in
the Western Conference Finals. Now you might think that's awesome,

(57:37):
that's really cool. You know, you might have retweeted the video.
You might have liked the video if you saw it
on Twitter, and oh man, look at that sign him up? Right?
Might be an m M, a guy might be a boxer.
People love that stuff. Here's my point, and here's where
I go buzz killington on you. This is not what
the NBA wants at all. Step back from your personal

(58:02):
point of view, just your own perspective. You're a random
fan and you're just like, wow, that's pretty entertaining. It
It shouldn't just end there. Just for a second, consider
this in terms of how the NBA would view it.
This is not good for them at all. This is
not what they would want. They don't want fans being

(58:24):
rewarded for beating up other fans, because what's gonna happen.
Play this thing on out. You have Devin Booker, he's
a star player, rewarding a fan who was beating up
another fan. And don't get sidetracked and say, well, pri
and he had the beer poured on him and the
other guy he threw a cheap shot and right it

(58:48):
was a sucker punch, and okay, great, all of that
doesn't matter in terms of the NBA. The NBA isn't
gonna put out videos themselves on their official NBA Twitter
page and the messages, hey, if the other guy started it,
beat him senseless, the NBA like catch the action or

(59:12):
beat up the man next to you, right, Like, That's
not what the NBA wants to be known for. It's
not going to appeal to everybody. You wanna appeal to everybody.
And you might be sitting there watching this video of
the Sun's fan beating up the other dude and then saying,
sons in four, I'd be lying to you if I
said that wasn't entertaining, because it is. It was entertaining,

(59:36):
but it's not what the NBA wants to be known for.
And the other part of this that I find fascinating.
Remember when Russell Westbrook got popcorn poured on him. It
was absurd, should never happened. And you have players coming out,
you gotta treat the players like they're human beings. And

(59:58):
this is not except the bullet. I agreed with them.
And then you had the water bottle thrown at Kyrie Irving,
same thing, and I agreed again. Then we fast forward
to fans treating fans badly and it turns into need
man's info. Need to hook him up with a signed
jersey and Western Conference Finals tickets. Think about this, you'll

(01:00:23):
wrap your mind around this for a second. With the
water bottle that was thrown at Kyrie, what would be
the reaction if a Boston Celtics player said need man's
info and then he hooked that fan up with a
signed jersey and Western Conference Finals tickets or playoff tickets

(01:00:46):
maybe to the next game while the Celtics were still alive. Right,
do you think that would go over Well, No, not
at all. It's just hilarious. How the players were like,
treat us with respect, just be decent. We're human bigs.
And then a fight breaks out in the stands and
one dude, even though he didn't start it, he's certainly

(01:01:07):
finished it. But he's beating the other dude senseless. And
it's like, where can I hook this guy up? Huh
need his info so I can send him all these goodies.
You don't see the hypocrisy there. The bottom line is this.
It's not good for the NBA. You might love it,

(01:01:28):
you might get entertainment value out of it. It is
not good for the NBA at all. And I'll play
you a little portion of this. This is when the
the crazy things were happening. The popcorn dump, the water
bottle throw. Jam Morant's father was mistreated when he was

(01:01:49):
watching the Grizzlies play in Utah. Remember all those things happened,
just kind of boom boom boom, rapid fire style. The
NBA put out a PSS. There are various players, Damian
Lillard and his cantor Dwight Powell. I don't know how
Dwight Powell got on this thing and not they're like

(01:02:10):
putting us together is Luca available. No, are you kidding me?
Is uh? I don't know? Porzingis no, he won't. Dorian
Finney Smith will he don't know. He won't find Dwight Powell.
We'll get Dwight Powell, but he's one of the guys
in this video. Now. I don't know why the volume,
like the music in the background, is so insanely high.

(01:02:33):
You can barely hear what the players are saying, but
you'll gather the gist of it, which is, hey, fans,
glad to have you back. Let's have fun and not
be caveman at the games. Right, So listen to this message,
which was the players saying, hey, treat us the players

(01:02:53):
respectfully and they work in they treat fans respectfully too.
But that's not exactly how this story A line goes
with sons and four guy. But here's the p s
A that I'm talking about. You guys make that huge
difference for us. You guys are we'll be doing for it,
but let's also make it fun and safe for we

(01:03:13):
accept you guys. Treat everybody into building respectfully, players, coaches,
Beth yes, and of course be loud, be rowdy, do
everything I want to do. But be respectful of my
love to you. Guys. I'm excited to have you bet
enjoy the game, enjoy the game. We love that you're here. Okay,
I just have a simple question for you. And again
I just I know, channeling my inner buzz Killington here.

(01:03:38):
But it's true. What is respectful about a brawl in
the stands? Right? Don't you think that goes against what
the NBA is hoping for? Yeah? Absolutely, it does not
good for the NBA. I would think it's pretty easy
to find that common ground. But man, I've gotten all

(01:04:00):
sorts of pushback on this, Brian. People love fights. The
NBA doesn't. It's that good for them. It's not good
for business. And you might be like, why it got
a bunch of retweets, a bunch of likes on social media.
It's still being talked about. How is this bad for
the NBA. Okay, I'll give you a few reasons. One,
I look at fighting in the stands. It's kind of

(01:04:21):
like heavy metal music. I love heavy metal music. It's
my favorite genre. But it's not for everybody. Okay, not
everybody loves it. There's a certain section that loves it,
not everybody does. It's not mainstream. That's sort of how
fighting in the stands is. You might love it, but
the ten year old boy, the twelve year old girl,

(01:04:44):
that the mom, the grandmother who's like, there are plenty
of people that don't want to see that stuff. That
would make them very uncomfortable. And also, what if this
guy who's rewarded and he shows up for one of
these games it's on the road. What if he shows
up in l A. You're telling me there's not going
to be a fan from an opposing team that's like, oh,

(01:05:06):
you think you could beat me up? Hot Sons and four?
Guy he gets going down here like it's it's it's
not a good recipe. It's not a good I would
think if we're reasonable, it's pretty easy to understand and
to agree that this isn't what the NBA wants. I
would expect them to reach out to Devin Booker through

(01:05:26):
back channels and just say, dude, let's let's not reward violence. Please.
Can you can you do with that solid? Okay? We
got k fig who was just what were you waxing
poetic about while you were filling in? While I was
filling in? This is just like a chain of filling
in over here, k fig what was hot on your
mind a few minutes ago. So I was going back

(01:05:47):
on the topic of Laker fans and whether or not
they should cheer for the Clippers, and yeahf of what
Tyl Lou said after the Clippers went on Friday night,
and I kind of took a bit of a different
angle on it, Brian. I say that if you are
the top dog in a particular market, if you're the Yankees,
or you're the Lakers, or you're the giants with the Jets,
I don't necessarily have a problem with you saying, like,
you know what, good for you, it's about time you

(01:06:09):
kind of stepped up. I have I as a Laker fan.
If I'm putting myself in a Laker fan shoes or
a Giant fan shoes, I don't have anything to lose
by you winning one championship, because quite honestly, you have
so much ground to make up it doesn't even matter.
And maybe a little bit of competition is actually a
good thing we have. We actually have a real rivalry
for once. So maybe rooting for openly rooting four is
a bit strong. I don't know if a Laker fan

(01:06:31):
is gonna toss purple and gold to the side and
start waving Clipper pom poms. But if you're a Laker fan,
I don't think it's wrong or there's an issue with saying, oh,
you know what, good for them. It's okay if they
do well without actually openly rooting against them. And I
am I all base for that. Um, it's you're you're
kind of like tylu it's a you're an idealist, and

(01:06:51):
that's not all wrong. It's just it's not being a realist.
It's not the popular opinion. I can't admit to that. Absolutely, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
be a little bit like Oregon Duck fans here are
very very chirpy, and they've never won a national championship, right,
so heaven forbid they did. If your arrival, that's the

(01:07:11):
last thing you want to hear is them sticking out
their chests like what now. It's like, dude, shut up,
go somewhere else, you know what I mean. That's how
most fan bases think to a great But it's also
it's not like Oregon State has this long run of
success where they're like the top dog in the market too,
and Oregon finally got one. I mean, neither of them,
with all due respect to Oregon Oregon State, have won
any that. So, you know, if there is a legacy

(01:07:35):
franchise that has a great, you know, tradition of winning championships,
you really shouldn't feel threatened. If you're the Lakers, why
do you care if the Clippers happen to win a
championship they got sixteen more or possibly seventeen more to go,
What does it matter to you. That's the way that
I look at it. It's differently if you're coming from
it from the standpoint of the Clippers, because every time
the Lakers win and you don't, that's another, you know,

(01:07:57):
way for them to kind of push you down the marker,
for them to say, well, we got another one and
you still don't have one yet. So I get it
from that standpoint, But when you're the top dog, it
really doesn't make much of a difference. I don't understand
why you will have so much Hayte and victoryol told
your little brother who hasn't really accomplished much. And again,
even if they do win, they still aren't gonna gain
much ground on you. I'm gonna I'll I'll circle back

(01:08:19):
to this because you said the key phrase right there,
a little brother, So I'll hit on this, but if
you throw us around the sporting landscape first cave sig
and then we'll get right back to it, buddy. Okay,
Well I'll start with those Clippers. They overcame a twenty
five point third quarter deficit did beat the Utah Jazz
in Los Angeles, advancing to the first ever Western Conference Finals.

(01:08:40):
One thirty one to one nineteen would be the final score.
Rookie Terrence Man scoring thirty nine points for the Clippers
fifteen of twenty one shooting, scored twenty of his thirty
nine in the third quarter. Donovan Mitchell did score thirty
nine points in defeat for the Jazz. Mike Connelly, back
in the lineup for the first time this series, went
just one for eight from the field and scored five points.

(01:09:01):
Philadelphia did stay alive in their second round matchup against
Atlanta what they wanted, four to nine win. Joel Emba
twenty two points thirteen rebounds in that matchup, as the
Sixers will now host the Hawks in Game seven on Sunday.
In Baseball Giants one, yet again, they beat the Phillies
five to three. Brandan Belt with the home run there,
steven SUSA with their first home run for the Dodgers,
and a three nothing victory against Arizona. That's fifteen straight

(01:09:23):
losses for the Snakes, Oakland beating of the Yankees five
to three, Angels, Mariners and Padres with wins. Russell Henley
and Richard Bland tied at five under a top of
the leader board through two rounds. At the US Open,
Bubba Watson two shots back, Brooks Kepta and Bryson de
Shambo tie for fourteenth with several others at even par.
And in the NHL Montreal what they three to two

(01:09:44):
overtime victory over Las Vegas. They take a two to
one series lead in the Western Conference Finals. Back to
brian O, good stuff, ka Fig. Brian no here on
Fox Sports Radio. It's given more thoughts to this k Fig,
the open minded, welcoming, good hearted person that he is,
right just saying, come on, Tyler's got a point. Come on,

(01:10:05):
Laker fans, embrace the Clippers over here. I think the
key phrase that you said, Ka Fig is little brother.
You know, if you are to think about this, you're
the big brother. You're playing basketball throughout the years and
your little brother is just squawking, just talking talk and
talk and talk and talking, right, and you're just like,
you're annoying me at this point, just annoying me, And uh,

(01:10:29):
are you gonna root for him to finally better? You ever? Right?
Even if you've won just day in, day out, one
on one, you've crushed him, like, I don't think you do.
I don't think. I think that's what it comes back to,
is you can throw out all these other rivalries. I
would think that, say, Cubs Cardinals. I would throw this
one out there because my dad's from Alton, Illinois, so

(01:10:51):
I grew up rooting for the Cardinals. But I grew
up in South Bend. It's crawling with Cub fans, and
they're just like, every year, this has gotta be our year.
If the Hardinals weren't alive in the playoffs, I wouldn't
be caught dead rooting for the Cubs while thinking, hey,
we've we've got about ten world championships. What does the

(01:11:11):
Cubs have but they haven't had one since nine? No? Wait,
you just don't think along those lines, you know. Yeah,
I also think that's a little bit different when it's
and I say it's cross sectional across state. I know
they're in fairly close proximity, um, but it's a little
bit different when it's intercity. And also if I'm just
to use the Clippers and Lakers as a just a
specific example outside of other rivalries, yeah, the Clippers will say, oh,

(01:11:34):
this is our year, this is our year, and okay,
you've been saying that for fifty years and you haven't
really done anything. It really hasn't affected me as a
Laker fan at all. You can keep talking and you
have to show me, and then again once you actually
do show me, all right, you have to show me
again and again and again. So it's not even if
I look at it from this standpoint, Brian, if we
want to take out actually rooting for and I guess
there's a difference between rooting for someone and actively rooting

(01:11:56):
against someone. And so there has been a most recent lee,
for whatever reason, Laker fans have been actively rooting against
the Clippers. And I guess that is the part that
I don't necessarily understand, because, with all due respect to
the Clippers, you're punching down do that? Why why do
you need to troll the Clippers when they blow up
three one series lead, or when they lose, when they

(01:12:18):
go down to in a series, why do you even care?
Because they're so chirpy. That's what it comes back to.
One other quick example here going back to my my
stomping grounds back in South Bend, so there are actually,
believe it or not, in South Bend a lot of
Michigan football fans, and I remember like going to school

(01:12:38):
with those guys, working with those dudes. I remember I
worked at a tire factory one time, k fig and
uh Michigan. It was leading up to the Notre Dame
Michigan game, and there was a guy that had a
Michigan flagged. Were like on picker carts. We would would
be on these carts and pick up tires and tape
them up and send them off whatever. But I remember

(01:12:59):
a dude he was driving around on his cart with
the Michigan flag draped around him, you know, and it's
like Heaven forbid Notre Dame lost to Michigan. That's all
you would hear all year long. It was just pure misery.
And you know, these Clipper fans who have just had

(01:13:21):
to eat dirt for over fifty years, if they messed
around and want a championship. They would be chirpy to
a degree that most Laker fans would literally be sick
to their stomachs. I think that's what it comes back to.
It's just the chirpy, chirpy, chirpy. Listen, you're a great dude,

(01:13:42):
and I like it. You take the high road. You're
kind of teflon. You're like, that doesn't really affect Meay,
you still got some catching up to do. That's the
way that I will look at it. I like it.
I like it. You're you're an adult over here. Like that.
I mean that respectfully. You know, not every fan is
now and you're right, Brian, most fans are not absolutely right. Uh,

(01:14:04):
no doubt alright. Eight seven seven nine on Fox is
the phone number. Feel free to check in. Coming up next, Well,
let's talk some ball, shall we? Phase one of phase
three that needs to take place with change on the way.
Are you a fan? We'll get to that. I'm Brian

(01:14:25):
no This is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian No here
on Fox Sports Radio. For hot water that never runs out,

endless hot water for spotlight comfort. Visit Tankless made Simple

(01:14:47):
Simple dot Com. I felt like I needed to read
that more aggressively. With the background music there, Chris, you
know Navan water to let them know, well, the new
new advertising campaign there. Yeah, I think I think that
was a golden opportunity. I just let pass right there.

(01:15:08):
You know, I gotta be on my game here. You know,
it's like M and M said, you only get one
chance to blow? Did not miss your chance? Something like that.
I don't remember exactly what it was to to blow. Yeah,
well it isn't that what he says. What is it? Uh?
I don't know what it is. I just know I'm

(01:15:29):
I'm putting what we call over here at Fox Sworts
Radio aid in that, which means it's gonna be used.
Oh no, really, that's gonna be a new drop. Huh.
You know we we have that for the third hour.
How long is the turnaround process here? It'll be ready
for firm in and now it'll be ready there. Okay, alright, beautiful,
look forward to that. How about this? Before I get

(01:15:53):
to Nick, don't say the G and Battaliti is video gaming? Ways?
I find that to be pretty intes this thing. Um,
I want to get to this twelve team college football
playoff deal. So phase one is complete, the commissioners and
Jack Swarbrick, the Notre Dame Athletic director, they say thumbs up. Shockingly,

(01:16:17):
not that they see dollar signs or anything, right, They're
just like, yeah, let's let's go with twelve teams. They're
follow the money. It's going to happen. So phase one
is the commissioners say thumbs up. Now it goes to
the president's and of course the presidents are gonna say
jolly good, and then it goes back to the commissioners

(01:16:38):
and they figure out when to implement this. So is
that gonna happen for the next two years? Still have
the four team playoff? As soon as this could take place,
is my hunches That's exactly what it's going to take place.
It's just a matter of time. Um So I think

(01:17:02):
that's where we're headed, and my gut feeling is it
will be in Now. What's interesting is it's not just
looking at the twelve team format. It's thinking of the
next two years and and how the champion is viewed.
When you're thinking about the next format, to come right.

(01:17:25):
I find that to be pretty interesting. So if it's
just four teams, are we gonna do this whole thing
of Hey, two years from now, this team would be
in the playoff and that team would be in and
this would be the first round matchup, and these four
teams would get buys in, YadA, yadda. Is there going
to be more focused at least, you know, enough focused

(01:17:49):
to distract you from what we are actually watching take place.
I think there's gonna be a lot of those conversations. Hey,
what if Bama in the second round had to face
this team instead of the team that they actually beat
in the four team playoff? You know what I mean?
I just I think the next two years it's sort
of like lame duck playoff format years. It's a weird

(01:18:14):
deal because think of expansion. They haven't done it in
other sports or other leagues where they say, hey, NFL
when they expanded to seven teams in each conference, they
didn't say, hey, two years from now, this is what
we're going to do. They just did it. They discussed it,
they said, all right, let's put this into play. Anything

(01:18:38):
with expansion, it's not like like college basketball the way
they've expanded the n C Double a tournament where they
just discussed it and then they said, all right, we've
agreed to it, but two years from now that's when
it'll take place. It just leads to all these conversations
of if we had the format now, how that we

(01:19:00):
will have in a couple of years, and filling the blank,
filling the blank, filling the blank, and you understand the point,
you start thinking about other things than what's actually taking
place here and now. So I don't love that. I
think that's a little bit goofy. As far as the
twelve team thing, there's good and bad, pluses and minuses.
I think ultimately, when you are settling games on the field,

(01:19:24):
the best teams playing this, the best teams on the field.
I like that. I do find we throw the little
guy a bone. The group of five. The group of
five teams are kind of like Clipper fans. You know,
I hate to disparage Clipper fans over here, but just
what about us, and come on, give us a chance,

(01:19:45):
just a little brother, just squawking, squawking, squawking. It's like,
oh my gosh, just actually win enough and things will
take care of themselves. That's how I feel about the
squawky group of five teams. Sketch, roll up in your
non conference. You can't be in a hack conference and
play a hack nonconference schedule as well. Schedule up, win

(01:20:07):
your games, and then I will hit the campaign trails
for you. But until then, I'm not trying to hear it.
But at least squawky group of five teams, what about us?
You throw him a bone. You don't have to hear
about that as much. Not all bad, So there are
some pluses. I don't like how the college football regular

(01:20:30):
season it's the most meaningful because you have so few
teams in the postseason. That's why it's so meaningful. So
I don't like the thought of you drop in a
couple of games. You can drop as many as three
games and get into the twelve team college football playoff.
So I don't love that. The pluses and minuses. But

(01:20:55):
I mean, I'm not gonna act like it's all bad, right,
And I also not gonna act like it's all good.
But I'm not gonna be buzz Killington And this is horrible,
stupid idea. No, they're parts of it. They're gonna be awesome.
I think the first round when it does go into uh,
when it does take form the first round, playing those

(01:21:15):
games at home stadium is gonna be amazing. I think
they should do at least the first two rounds. Those
first four teams that get buys, they should have a
home game as well. Those are electric atmospheres. Why would
you want to miss that? It's crazy alright? Coming up next?
This guy is a stud, but not in every area.

Clippers move it on to the Western Conference finals, first

(01:21:57):
time ever. The franchise is free. Shout out to them. Also,
the Sixers staying alive. That's right, Philly staving off in
elimination here. By the way, have you ever said that
aside from elimination, it's kind of like torrential If you

(01:22:17):
ever used torrential, other than to say torrential downpour, you
could say that at many different things. Right, do that
you got something on that, Chris, you have thoughts on
torrential downpour or staving off elimination? You ever stave off
anything but elimination? Yeah? Stave off death, stave off illness?
Who's yeah? Okay, all right, yeah you can. You can

(01:22:40):
stave off a lot of things. Just keep it away
from you. You can. But do you say it like that?
I do you do? Normal? So daily habit for you?
Daily routine, A couple of times a week, dusted off?
I hear you, Well, you are you really read the
South China Times. What's the paper you read? You've been

(01:23:01):
bugging about this for two years? Now is the South
China Morning Post? And I don't read it because now
most of it is pay wald. Oh really? Oh that's
not good. How how much are we talking here? Five butts?
I don't know. Not enough for me to keep interest paywall?
You're out forget that? Yeah, I hear you. Okay, let

(01:23:21):
me get to Philly here real quickly. I've got a
couple of thoughts on Philadelphia as they staved off elimination.
Ben Simmons Benjamin Simmons, he was two for six from
the field on Friday, scored six points. I don't know

(01:23:43):
what's going on with this guy? Because he is such
a great defensive player, and he's a better offensive player
than you're seeing right now. No one would mistake him
for Seth for Steph Curry or even Seth Curry. Alright,
Like he's not an outside shooter, we all get that,
but he's capable of doing more. He's two for six.

(01:24:06):
He's just petrified the ball comes to him. It's amazing
how quickly he gets rid of the ball. He's like,
just take it from me, please. I I just can't
handle the stress over here. That's how he's acting. I
hate to see that. I hate to see anybody just
in their own head. And that's exactly where Ben Simmons is.
He's inside his own head for sure. And also this

(01:24:30):
is where you get to the heart of the matter.
I love this discussion. So the Hawks used the hack
of Ben. They went hacker Simmons, and they're intentionally fouling
Ben Simmons off the ball, right. I hate that. It
just drives me crazy. I'm not gonna drag this out

(01:24:50):
because we've had this discussion before, but cliffs notes version.
You can't play a pickup game of basketball and intentionally
follow your opponents. They would look at you like, dude,
what are you doing. We're trying to play basketball here.
You know, wrap your mind around that. You wouldn't and

(01:25:13):
really couldn't do it playing pick up basketball, but you
can do it in the n b A. You can
intentionally file someone off the ball as long as there
are more than two minutes to go. That makes no sense,
and I get it. At the same right, I get it.

(01:25:34):
Ben Simmons is embarrassingly bad at the free throw line.
He's right around. I have to see the numbers exactly
where there are, but he's somewhere around like fourteen for
forty two something like that. I'm having shoddy WiFi syndrome here,
so sorry I can. I can't get the exact pinpointed numbers,

(01:25:57):
but it's right around. There's something like fourteen for already
to right around that ballpark, just probably not exact. That's
freaking terrible. He's at the season, he's nowhere near that.
In this series against the Atlanta Hawks, he's clearly in
his own head. So I understand one aspect of it

(01:26:19):
where that leads to the argument, Brian, if you change
the rule and you can't intentionally file someone off the ball,
you're bailing Ben Simmons out. You're bailing bad free throw
shooters out if you change that rule. I understand the argument.
I just don't think it ends there. I think what
you're doing right now, you're bailing defenses out they don't

(01:26:44):
have to defend. That isn't defense of Hey, that guy
sucks at free throws, foul him. You can't do that
in a pickup game of basketball. You shouldn't be able
to do that in the NBA. Why do they have
it elite will in the final two minutes? Why it

(01:27:04):
makes no sense. Why wouldn't they have it illegal all
the time? Why is it just the final two minutes
which matter the most? The game comes down to that,
and they're like, all right, this is the illegal zone
right in this little two minute window. You cannot intentionally
foll a guy off the ball. If that rule makes

(01:27:26):
sense for the final two minutes, why wouldn't it make
sense for more than the final two minutes. That doesn't
add up at all. It's just lazy basketball. You're rewarding
lazy defense. It's not even defense. You go up and
hug the guy who thinks at the free throw line.
The whole point of committing fouls it's supposed to penalize you.

(01:27:49):
You're not supposed to benefit from it. So I just
hate the principle of it. It's lazy defense. It's smart strategy.
Don't get me wrong. This is more on the n
b A. I would not fall Nate McMillan or the
Atlanta Hawks. It's smart strategy. I fought the NBA for
allowing the strategy to be utilized. No one wants to

(01:28:11):
see that. You don't tune into the game to say,
oh man, hopefully I can see Ben Simmons shoot a
bunch of free throws and miss most of them badly,
and every now and then look into one. He had one.
He had one shot. It was so bad. It hit
the base of the rim, you know, like that little

(01:28:31):
block in the back of the rim. The Atlanta fans
started cheering, but it just died. It hit the back
that back a little portion. I don't even know what
it is. It's not quite the rim. It's kind of
like the backdrop of the rim. It hit that and
just died and went in. So the Atlanta fans are like, yeah,
thinking it was a misshot and it just trickled in. Uh,

(01:28:52):
that's the entertainment. Value you get. That's the peak entertainment value.
When a team goes hack a Simmons, it's a brutal watch.
And I hate the concept of bailing out defenses. I
want you to move your feet, I want you to rotate,
I want you to communicate. I want you to do
all the things that are required to play good defense,

(01:29:15):
not just egg up and hugs Simmons this week, I
don't like it whatsoever. I'm Brian though here on Fox
Sports Radio. Feel free to hit me up eight seven
seven on Fox. That's the phone number, eight seven seven
six three six nine. By the way, I find this

(01:29:36):
to be interesting. Nick Battalia, trusted producer over here. Two
things you gotta know about Nick. One, I love the
dude's energy. This guy has a vibe like, let's do it.
Let's talk some sports over here. It's gonna be awesome.
I love that. It's infectious. Goodbye. Nick. The other thing

(01:29:58):
that I just learned tonight, Nick Battalia, he loves him
some two k might basketball game. You are rebuilding, reshaping,
remaking the Orlando Magic. What is this? Is this franchise
mode that you have it on? Yeah, it's well, it's
it's called my m b a uh the official term.

(01:30:20):
But yes, this franchise mode. And so I like doing
sports games. Is even I'm a Lakers fan and you know,
and stuff like that. I love being and taking over
a team it finishes the worst each season. So in
this case Orlando Magic, so I took over as GM.
I got rid of Steve Clifford, brought in Chauncey Bills
his head coach, traded away Marquel Folds to the net

(01:30:40):
the Knicks, and how close for are you by the
way to hiring Terry Stots Not at all because his
attributes are not the best in the game. He didn't
like it. It doesn't emphasize decnse. I see when I
when I when I bring in players and coaches, I
like people who are two way guys, like do offense
and defense. So like my team, like, for example, I

(01:31:02):
trade away Marquelle Folts, I bring in Deer and Fox.
I have a number one overall pick. I bring in
Kid Cunningham, you know, and so yeah, it's uh my,
my my starting lineup right now is Deer and Fox.
Then I have Kate Cunninghampton to Jonathan Isaac at the three.
Brandon Clark from Memphis. I traded for him, sent well
dark one Del Carter Jr. Over to Memphis and my

(01:31:23):
center is a Luca Garza who I took with the
fifth pick from Oklahoma City. Wow. See, now you're getting
crazy in depth on me here. You're almost going fantasy
football guy giving me his entire roster. You know you're
you're almost getting to this degree. I'm starting to worry
about eight and no right now? Eight no? No, last
question here real fast. Yes, you you're probably too young.

(01:31:46):
What are you like sixteen? Um? Do you remember tech
Mo at all? Do you remember the tech day Bo
Jackson was, dude, the famous video of the guy running
in the endzone Bo Jackson and running a hunded yard touchdown. Yeah, exactly,
So I bring up tech Moo. I'm more of a
super tech Mo guy. I like the eight plays that

(01:32:07):
you could pick instead of the four plays. So it's
like the second year. I love super tech Mo. But
if you were just waltzing through the season undefeated, there
was always that game late in the season and you
just couldn't win. You couldn't do anything right. It was
working against you. Is that how two K is? Like,
you're not gonna go eighty two and oh right, how

(01:32:27):
many losses do you think you might have during a season.
I mean I've come close a couple of times. It
also depends on the difficulty actually have on like one
of the hardest difficulties. So I've come close. Um wait
a minute, hold on, You've got it on almost the
hardest difficulty rate and you've almost run the full eighty
two and oh table, No, no, I'm I'm only eight. No,
I only played eight games in the season, so um,

(01:32:48):
I mean I've literally been down like ten points and
came back. So I mean, you know there's I'm not
playing on rookie here. Yeah. But going back to Techmo
real quick, uh super Techmo Best play book Minnesota Vikings
said that flee flicker in there. Yeah, that's but if
they blitzed, right, if they if you like, there was

(01:33:08):
always that jerk who went with the nose tackle right well,
with the nose guard. That not good, right if you're
under center, he would sack you every time. That was cheating,
cheating to be the nose tackle right there for the
Techmo people. Um, but yeah, you know, if they didn't
call your play, I do like the flee flicker action. There,

(01:33:29):
you're big gamer. It sounds like Nick huge into this
nice um real fast. Last thing I'll say about gaming.
I used to play Madden quite a bit and then
I fell off the gaming bandwagon. I just got, you know,
busy with work and stuff like that. But um, I
play Fortnite each Friday. I call it Fortnite Friday's with

(01:33:51):
my nephews and they just wreck me. We do uh,
I forget what they call it. It's uh creative mode
where it's just the three of us and we're just
kind of like shooting at each other, right, And it's
the worst explanation. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm like,
how do I aim? How do I like get you guys?

(01:34:11):
The rule is they can only pick ax me. I
can shoot at them. They have to pick axe me,
and they're still schooling me. It's the worst. Don't, as
an older guy, and I'm forty three, don't as an
older person play young kids at video games. It is
the worst. They are running circles around me. My nephews

(01:34:31):
are eighteen and sixteen. I don't stand a chance. I
have no prayer to hang with them. But it's all
about hanging out and you know, spending time. So they're
back in Indiana. So we hook up every Friday, right,
we play Fortnite on Fridays. It's a good time, very
good time. Okay. So I've looked at the lyrics here

(01:34:52):
of one of the songs. I will I will give
that to you right around the corner because apparently it's
going to be a drop um. And I'll circle back
to that with Chris. Also one of the topics I
was throwing out there, it's important to consider the worst
case scenario. So I just want to spend a minute
or two on that, real quick thought. That's on the way.

(01:35:15):
I'm Brian though, and for Jonas Knox, keep it locked
right here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no here
on Fox Sports Radio. Discover matches all the cash back

(01:35:43):
By the way, feel free to check in. I like
being at Interactive, so if you have anything that you
would uh like to voice, feel free to do so.
Eight seven seven Fox real quick. I was talking about
this last hour and just for two minutes I wanted
to add one more thing. So, uh, there's this viral

(01:36:04):
viral video Sons in four a guy. This is a
fight that breaks out in a game in Denver between
the Sons and the Nuggets, and so Sun's guy gets
sucker punched, gets a beer poured on him, and he
goes scorched earth he just beats the other dude senseless basically.

(01:36:27):
And Devin Booker, he tracked the fan down that beat
up the other guy, and he hooked him up. He
hooked him up with a Devin Booker signed jersey and
also some tickets to the Western Conference finals. And I said,
you gotta think about this from the NBA's perspective. They
don't want to be known for this. This is not

(01:36:49):
good for them. And it leads to what Brian. The
other guy started it. The NBA is not going to promote. Hey,
if the other guy starts it, you finish it. Just
beat him senseless. They're not going to do that. Now.
The one thing I wanted to add is you have
to think worst case scenario. And it just dawned on me.
Remember Brian Stow it's been about a decade. Brian Stow

(01:37:14):
was that a Giants Dodgers game in l A. He
was wearing a Buster posey jersey. There's a fight after
the game and he's almost beaten to death. He was
in a medically induced coma for months, suffered brain damage.
This whole thing, crazy ordeal. That's what you have to consider.

(01:37:41):
That's why the NBA, the NFL, whomever, they don't want
this in their stands. It's just so shortsighted to think, oh, Brian,
we like watching fights. Yeah, you're right, we do. You
know who doesn't leagues that are conducting a business. I

(01:38:03):
guess imagine if like, if I'm in the l A
studios where the guys are right now, Nick Chris k Fig.
If I'm in the studios with those guys and let's
just say that, um right, that a couple of coworkers
just get into it. They're just fighting, and someone records it.

(01:38:25):
You might be like, Wow, this is some crazy fight,
Big Ben against Jonas Knox tool for the ages. Do
you think even though you get entertainment value, Let's just
say I posted it on Twitter. Check this out. Knocks
versus Mallard and it's getting retweeted, it's getting liked, shared galore.

(01:38:47):
It's this whole thing. It goes viral. You might be like, hey, no,
thanks for posting that. That was awesome. I loved seeing that.
Do you think our employer Fox Sports Radio would be
cool with that? Do you think they'd be like, hey,
salid job, No, good job getting this violence out there.
So we're known for it a lot of a lot
of retweets, that's we're in the business up. No way.

(01:39:09):
They don't want to be known for that. They don't
want to be libel should things go really wrong. Right,
it's a whole thing. You have to think like a
grown up at some stage. And while you might love
to have seen the sons in four dude fighting the
other guy, and that's fine, I wouldn't say you're necessarily
wrong automatically for that. If you just said, yeah, I

(01:39:31):
was entertained, I can't lie to you. I don't think
you're wrong for that. I was entertained. It's just not
good for the NBA at all. They don't want that
happening because if you consider the worst case scenario, luckily
Brian Stowe is still alive, there was a chance he
wasn't going to make it. He was in a medically

(01:39:52):
induced coma for months. And yet someone's gonna sit here
and be like, well, Brian, the other guy poured beer
on him. So I mean, okay, it's still the NBA
doesn't want that. I got a tweet here from Jim
from Cleveland. He says, what's status of the payment of

(01:40:13):
Eddie Garcia on your bet? When is Eddie going swimming?
Go Brown's? Okay if you're if you don't know about this,
I've got a bet with Eddie Garcia. I have won
this bet. I said a couple of years ago, the
Browns within a five year span will make the playoffs. Now,

(01:40:34):
this was shortly after they went over, Right, these are
the Browns. They've been really really bad for a really
really long time. And I said this. I'm like, they're
acquiring a lot of talent, They've got pieces to work with.
They're not going to be this bad going forward. They're
going to make the playoffs. And Eddie was just like,
you're crazy or out of your mind, this is stupid

(01:40:56):
or are you talking about And so, of course, you know,
the Browns made the playoffs last year. So Eddie Garcia
he asked to take a dip in the fountain that's
right across the Fox Sports Radio studios in Sherman Oaks, California.
It's right there by a cheesecake factory. So Eddie's gotta

(01:41:16):
go like frolicking in the pool in the fountain. Um.
I did mention that. Ah. Unfortunately, the the company I
was working for here in Portland, they didn't get the
contract renewed with the Blazers, so I'm out of a
local gig. It's unfortunate, but nothing but love. Enjoyed my time.

(01:41:38):
It was a pleasure. It was awesome. The reason I
bring it up is because, well, I'm free to go wherever,
so I will be in l A. I don't know,
maybe for the time being living, but I'll at least
be passing through. And for Jim from Cleveland on Twitter,
it makes for a good timing right to maybe get

(01:42:01):
that dip in that Eddie Garcia owes us. I think
he owes everybody dip into the fountain, so that should
be happening. I would say sometime in the summer. I
think within the next I don't know, to three months,
we might be able to get that knocked out Before
I get to k fig one other thing here. So

(01:42:21):
I was trying to remember eminem lyrics and I didn't
do a great job, but I was right Chris, so
lose yourself. He says, you only get one shot. Do
not miss your chance to blow This opportunity comes once
in a lifetime. So I was doubting myself. I'm like,

(01:42:43):
is is that the right word to go? Is it?
I thought I was blows it flows it. I don't know,
but that's right. No, I remember the song. I just
wanted to just just get you out of context there,
that's all. It's well played by you. I mean really,
that is straight from the hand book of technical producing.
Here at Fox Sports Radio, you take things out of

(01:43:04):
context and it makes it hilarious. By the way, by
the way, real quick story. You'll like this because if
you listen to its time slot, then you like Jonas knocks.
So Jonas used to do this bit. It was my
favorite bit on Fox Sports Radio. Out of context and

(01:43:24):
so that's exactly how it sounds. They would take play
by play, you know, calls athletes saying whatever, coaches in
press conferences, and they take it out of context and
it sounds sexual. I will still to this day, I'm
trying to keep out of context alive. I will text

(01:43:45):
Jonas random sound bites here and there. It's like, I
don't know, once every five six months there's something that
is just hysterical to me, and I'll text it to Jonas.
The last couple that I've texted him, and this is Jonas, right,
Jonas is, I would say, not quite buttoned up, you know,

(01:44:07):
Jonas lie, he would have the uh, he'd have the
top three buttons unbuttoned, and there's chest hair and there's
a medallion in everything. Right, Jonas lets it go. He
has not buttoned up. And I mean that complimentary. It's
funny that way. But Jonas, being the not buttoned up

(01:44:28):
guy that he is, he responded, he was like, wow, man,
I don't think we could even play that. I don't
think we could get away with that on Fox Sports Radio.
And again, comparing companies, we're not as straight laced as
some other companies, that is for sure. And he's completely right.
A couple of these soundbites just during games, just during

(01:44:48):
a random basketball game or Super Bowl postgame coverage, I
can't play him. I'm teasing, like, you're like, what's the
sound bite. I can't give it to you. I can't
because I he I wouldn't hear me again. I got
hit in the balls at least a dozen times by
six year old. But that was a tremendous segment, man,

(01:45:12):
it was. It was top shelf. That was one of
his old producers. He was telling me about him, Mike Mayer. Yeah,
Mayor the legend Mayor. Yeah, who's actually uh the name
of a notre dame tight end. That's what was hilarious too.
And he's really good actually, but this whole last season,
it's it was Michael Mayer, and I'm like, freaking Mike Mayer.

(01:45:33):
It's funny. He was a former producer here at Fox
Sports Radio. But yeah, Mike's awesome, and he put he
I don't know how much time he spent on that thing,
because dude, for I don't know, like fifties sixty seconds
of sound bites that last I don't know, four seconds
a piece. That's a lot of freaking work. You gotta
go and piece that altogether. So shout out to him.

(01:45:54):
It's a great segment. I love that segment. I also
love hearing from k fig. It's not figures, there's no
you get that you out of here. It's Kevin Figures
and he's here too. Two tour us around the sporting landscape,
if you will. That's right, Brian. And speaking of getting
kicked in the ball, that's what happened to the Utah

(01:46:15):
Jazz on Friday night. They had to a twenty five
point lead in the third quarter and it all fizzled
away at the hands of the Clippers. Rookie Terrence Man
had twenty points in the quarter, finished with a career
high thirty nine points to lead them in scoring. One.
One to one nineteen was the final score as the
Clippers events to the Western Conference Finals to take on

(01:46:36):
the Phoenix Suns. Game one will be at three thirty
Eastern on Sunday. Seventies sixers getting twenty four points a
piece from Seth Curry and Tobias Harris. They stayed alive
in their second round series against Atlanta. What they want
oh four to nine victory. Games seven of that series
will be on Sunday as well. In Major League Baseball,
Will Myris had two home runs for the Padres as
they defeated the Reds. Giants won their fifth game in

(01:46:58):
a row with a five to three victory over the
Phillies Dodgers handed Arizona their fifteenth straight loss. Three nothing
was the final there in the desert. At the US
Open second round action, Richard Bland bogey at eighteen. He
has tied for the tough spot along with Brussell Henley
through two rounds, and in the NHL Montreal, with a
victory over Las Vegas in overtime three to two, they

(01:47:20):
take a two to one series lead in the Western
Conference Finals. Back to Brian, No, you know, okay, fig
I've got a random question, and you've worked with me
long enough to know this is how I get down.
But it just popped into my mind. I'm glancing down
at my phone. I see all these alerts and I'm like, oh,
you know what, I want a couple of bets. I

(01:47:40):
said the Clippers were gonna take down the Fool's Gold Jazz,
So I want a chicken wing bet from our co
worker Rob Gara. Right, he's there with the odd couple.
So Rob g owes me some chicken wings. I also, yeah,
because usually Rob Parker with the chicken wing bets. So
there you go. That's right. I have a woman funny
story with Rob. I literally k fig. I had three

(01:48:03):
different I took a picture of this. The other week
I went to be Dubs, I had three different gift
cards from Rob. I've been taking chicken wing bets off
of Rob left and right. They've been a hot streak
over here. Yeah get yeah. But um, I had another
bet with a co worker here in Portland's former co
worker now, but um, Dwight Jaans shout out, there's a

(01:48:25):
great job covering the Blazers, and I don't remember. Oh.
I there was a story with Virginia in the College
World series and their closer was talking about dippin dots.
I don't know if you saw this, but he was like, yes.
Someone in the crowd was like, I'll give you dippin
dots to blow this save and he's like, I thought
about it, but then I said no because dipping dots

(01:48:48):
cost a lot. But I'm like, I got per d
M and I can buy my own dipping dots. It
was really funny, and so I bought. I gambled on
dippin dots with Dwight Janes. I've never had him. I
that they were kind of like, I don't like a
box candy or something. Have you ever had dipping dots. No,
I thought they were too are they not? What are they?

(01:49:09):
It's like really small pellets of ice cream that's been deep,
that's been uh, what's what's the right word. It's like frozen,
even even more frozen. I forget it. It's like nitrous
or whatever. But like it's they're small, they're frozen, they're
very cold. It's it's fun to eat. I never thought
they're expensive, though. I don't know why you're talking about expense,

(01:49:31):
like version of mild or something. Pretty much, they're like
small little pellets of ice cream that just yeah, you
put them in your mouth, they melt. Yeah, yeah, No,
I don't think they're that crazy. I just I've never
had them before. I thought I did, but I was
thinking it was in a I don't know, kind of
like Mike and Ikes or something like in a box
like that. But no, it's just like what Chris Is said, No,

(01:49:52):
you gotta keep those suckers real cold. Yeah, yeah, I
mean as good as they maybe, I don't know if
they'd be worth blowing a College World series ain't potentially
to get dipping dots. I'm pretty sure that per diem
is probably good enough to cover you for that there, brother, Yeah,
I don't know if I could find it right away. Yeah,
if it's here, let me try to get it. It
won't take long. Here's the dude dots. Yeah, check this out.

(01:50:15):
Ka fig you too, Chris and Nick. While we're at
out all you guys, listen out here we go. I
heard a fan off for free dipping dots if I
blew it, which the price of dipping dots with inflation
is just unreal. So for a brief moment, I was like, damn,
dipping dots sound good. But also I thought, in the
back of my head, we win today. We went to
mow or tonight, we're gonna be here another day. That's

(01:50:37):
more per diem. So that means I can buy my
own dipping dots and be a winner. That's great. There
you go. It's Stephen Shock from Virginia saying that dipping
dots aren't worth that much. But you can get dipping
dots almost anywhere. I'm pretty sure they have them that
Ralph's the supermarket near where I'm at, Like, this is
not hard to find dipping dots. Yeah, yeah, so I

(01:50:58):
won dipping dots thanks to the clippers. That's right. Yeah,
big winner over here. Chicken wings from Rob, dipping dots
from Dwight. You got dinner and dessert. I like it right,
I'm looking at a dipping dots. I'm moving to Mexico,
thanks Rob. Large size dipping dots for five. Yeah, not
that bad. A big fan of DIBs. Do you ever
have DIBs like I've had them? Yeah? Oh they're tremendous. Yeah,

(01:51:22):
you guys sign off on those. You big fans of DIBs.
I'll sign off on those. Brian, quick question for you though. Yeah,
you have a choice dipping dots or ice cream served
in the bat and a baseball helmet. What are you
going for baseball helmet all day? What about dipping dots
in the baseball helmet. Yeah, that's a I might opt
for that because I've never tried it before, but but
I would after trying it once, I would probably go

(01:51:44):
with ice cream. You can't go wrong with ice cream.
I don't know that I'm gonna love dipping dots more
than ice cream. Think about dipping dots that you can
really customize. You can basically get like you know, get
get half of it with just the little balls for
like chocolate, But then you know, mix it up for
the rest. Yeah, and I'm trying to you know what,
I might fight fire with fire with you talking about
little balls. You have your soundboard of drops, I'm gonna

(01:52:07):
have my soundboard of drops. Oh trust me, I've got
plenty in here. You want to hear some of these
ones that I got on myself. A lot of sauces
just slapped right on your pizza time. When jumper cables
are involved, you know what's funny, real fast, I just
have a quick spiel. I don't know if you can.
It's normally a longer thing. But um, I've been accused

(01:52:30):
of telegraphing drops. You know, like, no one aims to
have a drop, Well, at least me, that's ridiculous to me.
No one would be like, Oh, you know would be
awesome is if I say something intentionally out of context
and then I can have my own drop over. No

(01:52:52):
one's aiming to do that. Come on, what are we doing?
Are we twelve over here? Like ball? Yeah? I think
anybody used time I showered. I think anyone who's intending
to manufacture their own drop believes in the Madden Curse.
That's what I think is happening. Over. I didn't realize
meth was as affordable as it is. That's maybe your

(01:53:13):
best drop of me nuts. Yeah, you've got a couple, man,
you need some fresh material, Chris. You know I'll intentionally
telegraph a drop. No, it's it's silly. I'm gonna come
over there to Kentucky and slap your rent. Uh Andy Furman.

(01:53:35):
Andy Ferman is a loose cannon man submarine. Yeah, gosh,
we're doing that on on Sunday mornings. We go after
it pretty good, coming up right now? Yeah? Those oh man,
those are those are low road, low road? Uh, drops
by you, Chris, all right, coming up next, we got
a lot to do. Lots going on. Hit us up

(01:53:58):
eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox. Um, I want
to get to a very memorable conspiracy theory. There's something
that happened in sports that made me think back to
what this guy was alleging. I'm Brian no, keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. I got a stump.

(01:54:20):
I'm probably no here on Fox Sports Radio. So the
lights went out temporarily in the seventies Sixers Hawks game.
And I don't know about you, but I think every
single time about Ray Lewis remember super Bowl forty seven.

(01:54:40):
It's crazy how quickly these Super Bowls go by. That's
nearly a decade ago. It doesn't seem that long at all,
at least to me. Remember Ravens forty niners, the power outage,
lights around, that's almost a decade ago. We just had
Super Bowl fifty five. That was super Bowl forty seven, right,
that's crazy to me. But in that game, ray Lewis

(01:55:04):
was talking about, Oh yes, some coincidence over here, right, Like,
it just makes me think. Every time the lights go out,
I think about ray Lewis going, oh yeah, yeah, there's
power outage. Huh sure, sure, just random power outage that
happens all the time. It's here, was ray Lewis the

(01:55:25):
Hawks game with the lights going out made me think
about it. Let's go hot tup time machine just for
a little bit. This was on NFL Networks America's game
ray Lewis explaining his reaction to the lights going out
early in the second half of Super Bowl forty seven.
I'm not gonna accuse nobody of nothing because I don't
know facts. But you are a zillion dollar company and

(01:55:48):
your lights go out. No, No, a zillion dollar company
ain't a way. Now. Listen, if you grew up like
I grew up, and you grew up in the house
sold like I grew up, then sometimes you'll lights might
go out cost because times get hard. I understand that,

(01:56:08):
But you cannot tell me somebody who wasn't sitting there
and when they say the Ravens about to blow them out, man,
we better do something. Yeah. That is one of the
all time conspiracy theories right there. And you know what's
weird is uh I can imagine Ray being like, Okay,
the Hawks game, the lights went out for how long?

(01:56:30):
A minute? And they're back and we're up and running,
you know, So it was weird. I'm yeah, there were
some things who are a bit peculiar about the Super
Bowl in the Super Dome and the lights being out
for a long long time, But it was a whole
thing in that area. It's not like some dude just
flipped the light switch off and so let's get the

(01:56:50):
Niners back in this ball game. Like so the whole
thing stretching for far distances, you know. So, no, I
don't buy into that conspiracy theory, but that is a
very very good conspiracy theory. It's one of those real
like but you know, maybe I still won't buy into it.

(01:57:11):
But I've heard way worse conspiracy theories. I'll tell you that. Now.
I mentioned this last night I was filling in for
Big Ben. I had to go back and grab the
additional audio, so the first audio, and we played this
last night. But it's so good, it's so top shelf,
it deserves to be run. Back. Here Robbie Anderson, wide

(01:57:33):
receiver with the Carolina Panthers. He's talking about Sam Donald.
Now remember they were teammates with the Jets and now
their teammates with the Panthers. Optimism running rampant. It's June.
Oh this guy looks amazing. But listen to exactly what

(01:57:53):
Robby Anderson says about Sam Donald, Carolina Panthers quarterback. Here.
When I want in the building, in just un viewing him,
I see like a new new energy out of him,
like you know, like a glowing charisma that I didn't
really see in New York. You know when a person
like you can see like a glow on them, you know,
their energy to or I can kind of view that
when I walked in the building and you know, just

(01:58:14):
being around him, that's right, Sam Donald's aura. He can
see it. He can sense it now. And it made
me think, of course, of Charlie Murphy explaining meeting Rick James,
and he was talking about the aura. This is top
shelf stuff as well. Here we go, hot top time machine,

(01:58:34):
Charlie Murphy, We're gonna hang out with Rick James to that,
you know what I'm saying. And he comes at the
room when I look at him, and I'm not seeing
like like an orange his aura or whatever I see.
So that's what Robby Anderson is saying about Sam Donald.
That orange. Whatever I say that i've it's right there

(01:58:55):
in front of me. This is where we are officially
off the rails with season optimism. We're talking about Sam
Donald's aura, legitimately seeing it. It's amazing to me, amazing.
I can't wait. This is one of the many, many
reasons I have a laundry list of reasons why I'm

(01:59:15):
looking forward to the NFL season. How Sam Donald fares
with the Carolina Panthers is one of those items on
the list. I can't wait to see what happens, because
you can't play that card anymore. Of who's not surrounded
by anybody, you have some legitimate weapons to throw too.
You've got CMC in the backfield, so I want to

(01:59:37):
see what Sam can do. That is you know what
the bigger picture is this when you look at quarterback comparisons,
think about this. We are in one of the golden
ages of quarterback comparisons because the draft we just had.

(02:00:01):
Think about all these qbs when they were drafted, what
you could have done differently. There were teams Carolina Panthers
were one of them, the Lions seventh overall, Carolina eighth overall,
Denver ninth overall. They all could have gone with either
Justin Fields or Mac Jones. They all said no thanks,

(02:00:23):
no thanks, no thanks, Let's go panay Sewell, let's go
j C. Horne, let's go Patrick Surtan like so, if
Mac Jones or Justin Fields pan out, it's gonna turn
out to be, Oh, what were you doing? You could
add a franchise quarterback on and on and on and on,
even with Sam Donald in his draft class, with Baker Mayfield,

(02:00:46):
Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, no more, Josh Rosen didn't work
out for him. But when you have five first round
quarterbacks three years ago, five first round quarterbacks, this half season,
those comparisons of this guy is doing better than that guy.
What if Mac Jones, who was rumored to go number

(02:01:08):
three overall with the forty niners, what if Mac Jones
turns out to be a better quarterback than Trey Lance.
It's funny to be because you read enough of these
mock drafts and you just think this stuff is set
in stone, like why on earth would you draft Mac
Jones over Trey Lance? And look, it might turn out
where Trey Lance is the better guy. The point is
a lot of people get used to seeing a certain order,

(02:01:32):
and if it's different than that order, you're like, oh,
radically wrong, no chance, no way. If you go back
to Patrick Mahomes, if he was drafted number two, number
three overall instead of Trabinsky, people would be like what
are they thinking? Right, And it would have turned out
to be the greatest draft pick the Bears could have

(02:01:52):
ever made, you know, So it's just funny like that.
The point is this, these quarterback comparisons. If this team
should have drafted that guy and that's the guy turned
out to be better and comparing and contrasting, we are
in one of the golden ages of that. It's gonna
be tremendous theater going forward. I love that alright. Comeing
up next, we get back to the stunner of stunners.

Hope you're enjoying your Saturday morning. So the stunner of
stunners the Clippers not just making it to the Western

(02:02:41):
Conference Finals without Kawhi Leonard. Series was tied to two
no more Kauai. We thought they were done. A lot
of people thought that wasn't the case. They win two
straight games and they're in the Western Conference Finals for
the first time in franchise history, and on top of
that out kauai first ever trip. They raced a twenty

(02:03:03):
five point deficit, they trailed by twenty five points against
the Jazz, and they came back from the dead. It's
one of the stats here, blow your mind. Stat Entering tonight,
the Jazz were two thirty two and one over the
last twenty five seasons when leading by twenty five plus points,

(02:03:28):
and they blew the game they blew it. Also stunner
of stunners, Terrence Man, Terrence Man dropping thirty nine points.
Filling in for the injured Kauai. Leonard had an unbelievable game,
best performance of his young career. He was a stud.

(02:03:52):
And also, while we're addition out props and bouquet's and
lovely words and all that, Paul George, Paul George, another
good game. Twenty eight points, nine rebounds, seven assists. I
just get this feeling where the majority of fans are
sitting there, scowl on their face, arms folded, just like, Okay,

(02:04:17):
I guess he played all right, but what about the
next round? Can you trust Paul Georgia? Can you trust?
They're just skeptical, waiting to pounce. And I get the skepticism.
He's had some playoffs thinkers. There's no doubt about that.
He's wet himself in big moments before. But that's not
the case right now. He's had four big performances in

(02:04:40):
a row, starting in Game three thirty one points, followed
it up thirty one points, followed that up Game five,
No Kauai thirty seven points, and then on Friday night,
twenty eight points, nine rebounds, seven assists. You gotta get
the guy as props. I think that confidence is so
such an intriguing thing because it does it. It's like momentum.

(02:05:05):
Confidence is very much like momentum for a lot of athletes.
It doesn't remain constant. That's not the case for everybody.
I think the truly special athletes, they're able to maintain
this level of confidence where they might miss ten shots
in a row and where someone starts to waiver and think,
oh gosh, I don't have it tonight. I don't. The

(02:05:29):
truly special superstar players are like, next one's going in,
next one's going in. The rims might not be regulation
on what's going on. It's like unflappable confidence is rare,
it really is. And so even a star player like
Paul George, he has ebbing and flowing confidence. It's a

(02:05:52):
lot like momentum. It's just it's here, he's on a
good tear right now, and that now I had a
bad game, and now he's kind of outing himself. Now
he's in his own head, you can just tell. But
he's got it right now, and I'm curious to see
what happens in the next round. But props to the
Clippers for even getting this far. Now, this took a turn.

(02:06:15):
On Friday night the postgame press conference, Clippers head coach
tylu He's talking about what Laker fans could do to
pass the time now that the Purple and Gold are
at home watching the rest of the playoffs. So he
has a message for their fan base. See if you
buy what he's selling here. Just seeing our fans and

(02:06:36):
how they stayed in and how they would cheer, and um,
it just you know, it just felt good. It was
a great feeling, you know. And um, like I said,
a team and starving put some success, the fan base
has been doing the same thing, and you know, UM,
to me, I just you know, I always look at
it differently, Like, you know, I know the Lakers are
out and there's a lot of Laker fans here, But
once the Lakers are gone and we're not playing the Lakers,

(02:06:56):
you should be cheering for the Clippers. And that's just
how I feel because all and City and I can
just be in love and you know, I'm just very
happy in proud of our guys. Yeah, I'm going hard
pass on that hard pass for me personally, no way,
I would never I wouldn't be caught dead if I'm

(02:07:17):
a die hard Laker fan and these squawky Clipper fans
like we're gonna do this and do that, and no, no,
I absolutely go thumbs down on that, and also vice
versa if you're a Clippers fan. It's just this vicious circle.
You know, you have to hear these Laker fans talking about, ah,

(02:07:39):
we want another championship and you guys haven't even been
to the conference finals, and how sweet it is, how
sweet it is where that box has been checked, you know,
where you don't have to hear that noise from a
Laker fan anymore. So I love I love the back
and forth that is. It's a nice thought and never

(02:08:00):
happened in a million years. That's like asking USC and
U c l A to root for each other. It's
never gonna happen, not unless it benefited you. Unless USC
could benefit because it beefed up their strength of schedule
and they could get into the college football playoff. If
U c l A wins the game, unless it's to
benefit you, you're not being caught dead rooting for your rival.

(02:08:25):
That's how it is. You root for your team and
you root against your rival sort of American is apple pie.
That's how we get down here. So I love that SoundBite,
but uh no, that will not be taking place. I'll
be playing that tomorrow night. Actually, I do a show
with the from salam here on Saturday evenings. He's a
die hard Laker fan, former NFL offensive lineman. I want

(02:08:50):
to hear his reaction of hey, big man, now that
you're not doing anything with the Lakers being out of
the playoffs, how about just getting the foam finger out
for the Clipper is like, alright, Clipper Nation, let's feel this. No, Ja,
It's no way that happens in a million years. I'm
Brian no In for Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. Okay,

(02:09:13):
so something else from this game. Clippers move on. Jazz
had the twenty five point lead. Jordan Clarkson scored twenty
one points just in the second quarter alone. They were rolling.
The Jazz couldn't miss in the second quarter. It seemed
like the Clippers are just I mean, they're just trying

(02:09:37):
to stay afloat. It looked like we're headed straight to
Game seven. And I don't know what it was. The
Jazz were just allergic to the second half the last
two games. They did nothing offensively. They scored twenty two
points in the third points in the fourth quarter. That's

(02:09:58):
it points and a half of basketball. While they gave
up one. The Clippers were chest on fire. Beverly's canning
threes left and right towards the end of the game.
Tarret's man is just tremendous throughout the game. It was
crazy how quickly the game changed, how dramatic it was.

(02:10:23):
But it's tough to take. Here's Donovan Mitchell, second straight year,
just an absolute heartbreaker, and listen to how he compares
the latest one with last year's heartbreaker. This hurts more
than last year because we were up again, lost again,
and that that this this is gonna eat at meat

(02:10:46):
for a long time watching the Lake like Clippers and
the Sons playing in the conference finals and even watching
the final effect this was he made It had an
incredible regular season, made so many pushes and continue to
try clip man like this is gonna eat Even when
I go to the grocery store, I'm gonna be thinking

(02:11:06):
about this, like you know what I mean, Like this
is wow. Um. A lot of conversation about Rudy Gobert,
who is an outstanding defensive player. But the Clippers did
a great job of using Gobert against the Jazz, and
they got a lot of open looks from three, and

(02:11:28):
they were just sizzling in the second half. Whites out
man just training threes, but tomb Beverly man like just
swishes galore. It was crazy. But they did a good
job of using Gobert against the Jazz, and you gotta

(02:11:51):
keep an eye on that going forward with DeAndre Ayton,
where if the Clippers just played this small ball style
ball movement, they had a number of wide open corner
jump shots and look, man, you do the math, you
hit enough of them, you're gonna be winning. So I'm
very curious to see the matchup again. The the subplot,

(02:12:14):
if you will, Chris Paul, So this doesn't work to
the Sun's advantage. Look like the Clippers Jazz series was
gonna go seven games, and so it would delay the
start of the Western Conference Finals by a couple of days.
With Chris Paul in health and safety protocols that would
have been better for the Sun's But there's this epic comeback.

(02:12:36):
Clippers move on. So the Western Conference Finals start on Sunday.
There was right around the corner. So the status of
of Chris Paul not just on Sunday, but what are
we looking at the first two games? Is he gonna
be able to go? I don't know where it stands,
but think about that from a son's perspective of thinking,

(02:13:00):
all right, it looks like it's gonna go seven. Well,
this is good, this is good. We need to get
Chris Paul back. He's been unbelievable. And uh then it's oh, shoot,
we play on Sunday. We gotta get our mind right
to play a game. And oh, by the way, it's
Chris playing. It's gonna be there. It's wild, but that's
the scenario we have on our hands right now. Okay,

(02:13:22):
plenty more to get to. I think it is a
bad forecast for one team in particular. And also there
are a couple of great, great players, but are they leaders?
I want to dive into that as well. Keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian, though.

(02:13:44):
Hit me up to eight seven, seven, nine nine on
Foxes where you can reach me, so, uh, if you
check in, we'll get you on the air as well.
Keep it locked Brian no in for Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no Here on Fox
Sports Radio. Oh, Discover matches all the cash back you

(02:14:05):
first year. It's amazing because discovers accepted at places in
the US that take credit cards. Learn more at discover
dot com. Slash Yes, Nielsen Report limitations apply, Man, I
could go down a rabbit hole. I just have a
couple of random thoughts here, Chris. I think of Metallica,
first off, post Black album. Metallica. It's risky, very dicey,

(02:14:29):
very dicey. When you go with post Black album. I
like all Nightmare Long. You know, there are a couple
of songs here, here and there. But Fuel gets me
think of gets me thinking of Nascar. They used to
use that song for NASCAR for a little while, and
I just started thinking about some of these bands with
songs that are synonymous with commercials and remember like a

(02:14:51):
rock remember that song with the ship I I think,
I don't know what brand it was, GMC chevy, whatever,
but it's a I'm gonna get killed for it because
I completely forgot what's your guests, GMC or chevy. I
think it's one of the two. It's probably Chevy. It's
probably forward they say that. I don't remember. But the
point is, I wonder if there are certain members of

(02:15:16):
those bands that are like, no, man, this song is
a classic. Don't do it. What would be known with
a truck commercial, you know, and somebody else has more
poll and they're like, oh screw it, we're gonna line
our pockets over here. You don't got a thing that.
Every time I hear anyone try to use Fortunate Son
at any point or Born in the USA? Uh, Like,
those are not songs you want to Everyone trots those

(02:15:39):
songs out where it's like, yeah, we really want patriotic music.
It's like, do you listen to Fortunate Son or Born
in the USA? Do you anything about the background of
either of those songs? Sound really serious right now? Very
serious right now. I'm just saying it's it's just funny
like that. Um. I think the song that I've always
been annoyed with is it was oh man, uh do

(02:16:02):
you remember it was centuries it was Oh yeah, it
was the college football anthem for one year. Yeah, oh dude, totally.
I think that I think I got played out for me.
Oh my gosh. It was literally, it was at least
coming back from every commercial break. It might have been
going to commercial I can't remember exactly. Yeah, for centuries.

(02:16:24):
Oh dude, horrible. Yeah, I think you're missing out. You
gotta let your hair down here, Chris, gotta let your
hair down here. Too guarded, too guarded? Right now, Okay,
let me get to a couple of these, uh these
players here, there's studs, but I don't think their leaders.
First one is Luca. Now, anything that I'm about to say,

(02:16:46):
do not let me paint a picture as if I'm
saying Dallas should get rid of Luca, that would be insane.
And I'm not saying Philly should get rid of embiid.
I'm not saying that either. But let's go peacepot piece,
like Denzel said in Man on Fire, very good movie,
right there, Um, Luca, don chitch. So when Rick Carlyle

(02:17:09):
resigned after thirteen years, Mark Cuban was like, this is
my philosophy on coaching. Grass isn't always greener. On the
other side, it's rare Carlyle staying. And the next thing,
you know, a couple of weeks later, Carlyle is like,
you know what, Actually I'm resigning. I'm out of here

(02:17:29):
after thirteen seasons? Now, why would that be? Does some
of it trace back to Luca? Now? There are reports
several occasions this past season Luca was yelling at Carlisle
in front of assistant coaches and teammates, animated gestures, disagreed
with decisions. Is it partially tied to that? Very well?

(02:17:53):
Could be? Very well? Could be? Just think about this,
Why is Rick Carlyle running out of town? What job
is he running too? There's a lot of speculation that
he would go to Milwaukee if the Bucks crash and
burn on Sunday or on Saturday, I should say Saturday

(02:18:14):
Night Game seven. I think the Bucks are gonna win.
We'll see what happens, but I think the Bucks have
the advantage against the depleted shorthanded Nets, no Kyrie irving,
and hobbled Harden. I think the Bucks win that game.
So ask yourself, this is Carlyle looking at the Bucks

(02:18:37):
job in particular? Do you think it would make sense
for him to gamble if things are going well in Dallas,
at least from a like camaraderie standpoint. You've got Luca.
He's phenomenal as a talent and if you are on
the same page as an organization, there isn't crazy drama.

(02:18:59):
Why would you be running out of town? Are you
itching to go to New Orleans? Whereas Zion's inner circle
is like, dude, get out of there, go somewhere else.
Don't stay with the Pelicans. Are you racing to that job?
Do you have your sight set on Milwaukee when they
might win Game seven and keep advancing in the playoffs.

(02:19:21):
So my question is why is Rick Carlyle willing to
leave so quickly? And it could be for a variety
of reasons, but I have to think if things were
on great terms with this phenom in Luca, I just
have a hard time believing that Rick Carlyle is eager

(02:19:42):
to leave. So I think some of it traces back
to that. I don't know how big of a portion
it is, but I can't believe that none of it
has anything to do with that, you know what I mean. Also,
Joel Embiid great player. Sixers are gonna get rid of him.
The MAVs are not looking to move on from Luca,

(02:20:04):
but with them bead exceptional talent. But he is an
immature kid. That's where he is right now. He's done
it in this series against the Atlanta Hawks. By the way,
the mark of an immature team is blowing a twenty
six point lead when you're at home. You know, I'm

(02:20:25):
not going to absolve blame with the Jazz, but at
least they blew their lead on the road. Philly was
at home and they blew their lead against Atlanta. If
you look at him, Beaid it was a small thing.
They'll take two seconds to point out. And Bead was

(02:20:45):
over twelve from the field in the second half of
Game four. And after the game, he was in the
postgame press conference and he's explaining it, I didn't really
have it tonight, just not my night. And he paused
and he looked up and he saw Kauai with this
insane dunk. I think he uh he dunked on Derrick's
favorites if I remember right, But whoever he dunked on,

(02:21:07):
it was impressive and Kauai, I'm sorry. Embide looks up
at Kauai and he's like, oh, oh wow, hey, you
see this. You see this over here? And I looked
at that. I'm like, are you kidding me? You go
over twelve? You had a chance to take a strangle
hold of the series three games to one. Now you're
tied to two, mainly because you stunk it up in

(02:21:28):
the second half, and you're gonna just google over Kauai Leonard,
what are you doing? What great competitor does that? Can
you think of you know, Jordan's doing that or even
modern day Lebron Dame there, there's no way, there's no way.
After they stink it up in the second half and

(02:21:49):
blow a chance to win the game, take a stranglehold
lead that they're watching a game and oh, oh wow, wow,
what a dunk. Unbelievable. He's an immature did and we
saw a little bit this on Friday night. You had
Joel and Bead get into it with John Collins. Now listen,

(02:22:09):
I understand some of this stuff happens, but Joel embiid
Game four, he's like, oh, kauiet postgame press conference, Wow,
what a dunk. After he's over twelve. Game five, it's
a three point game, ten ten seconds left, he misses
two free throws. Lack of focus, immature. And then Friday

(02:22:33):
night he gets tangled up with John Collins on the floor.
Collins pushes him and Bead jumps up and he's a
space invader. He's got his arms to the side like,
I'm not doing anything rap Sea, no punches, nothing to
see here, I'm not doing anything illegal. And he's just
walking into John Collins. He walks into him where he's

(02:22:54):
behind the stanchion. It's it's what he's obviously starting something.
It was there double technical fouls and we move on.
But the point is and Beat is just causing these situations.
There might be a suspension. There were a couple of
dudes that left the bench that was being talked about

(02:23:14):
during the game, and it's just it's another small thing.
All these things, if they're just isolated incidents, not the
end of the world. But when they're accumulating and it's
just immature after immature act, that's where we're at with
Joe l Embiid. So don't get me wrong. I'm not

(02:23:36):
sitting here saying Sixers cut bait, MAVs, get rid of Luca,
just move on. Not great leaders These are the beds
that you are going to lie in with the MAVs
and the Sixers respective organizations because these are special, special talents.
But you need great leadership as well. You can't have

(02:24:00):
Luca beefing with the analytics guy that was the other
part of this thing. There were reports and this was
ridiculous that Luca might not resign because of this beef
with the analytics dude. There's no way they'll send the
analytics dude backing immediately. Luca is way more valuable, and
now all of a suddenly he's got beef with Rick

(02:24:22):
Carlyle to a degree. Why else is Rick Carlyle leaving
so willingly? You know it's gotta be partially tied to Luca.
I have to imagine it is. So I question the leadership. Really,
I questioned the maturity of EMBIID. I question the leadership.
Is Luca that guy? Are these guys the glue? Are

(02:24:44):
they like the magnets? They're bringing all the piece of
pieces of an organization and putting them together on the
same page. Are they unifiers or are they dividers to
a degree, And I think the immaturity of EMBIID shows up.
That's not unifying. And I think Luca, Luca knows how

(02:25:04):
great he is. I think that's one of his biggest problems.
Luca knows he is insanely great, and you can see it.
It's how he winds after every call. Come on, he's
like Eli Manning. You know, Eli Manning had the pouty face.
Eli Manning's pouty face has nothing on Luca's pouty face.

(02:25:25):
Is it? Come on? Revue it. See he's backed me
on the left, arm right. He knows how great he is,
and he could be high maintenance. He could be tough
to deal with. So I think both of those dudes,
we always look at what's around them, and Luca needs
a better supporting cast, there's no doubt. But I would

(02:25:47):
also look at Luca. He could be doing more from
a leadership standpoint. He absolutely can. And it's funny because
Luca is so great and he's doing so much, and
he's putting up all these numbers that we tend to
look everywhere else, but at Luco, like, how can he
be better? From a leadership standpoint? He certainly leaves a

(02:26:08):
lot to be desired. And with Embiid as great as
he is, filling the stat page and all of that stuff,
he's got to be better. From a maturity standpoint has
to be. Both of those organizations would benefit greatly if
they're both better leaders. They're young, maybe they'll get there.
They're not there yet. All right, bad forecast, at least

(02:26:32):
to me. I'll let you know about that first though.
K Fick Mr Kevin figures to spin us around the
sporting world. What do we need to know? Well, I'll
let you know Brian that Palmdale is currently trending as
we hit about father. Hear him yelled at at the end.
It was great, sure, Dad, Palmdale the hometown of Clippers
star Paul George. You have a shout out during the

(02:26:54):
postgame interview for those who aren't aware of palm Dale,
about ninety minutes an hour to ninety minutes north of
downtown Los Angeles. And Paul George did ball out twenty
eight points, nine boards, seven assists, helping the Clippers beat
Utah to advance to the Western Conference Finals for the
first time in franchise history. One one to one nineteen
was the final score. Clippers are racing a twenty five

(02:27:16):
point deficit, and the comeback was fueled by new starters
Terrence Man. He was actually inserted into the starting line
up the last couple of games for the injured Kawhi Leonard. Man,
scoring a career high on Friday night thirty nine points,
leading the Clips to a matchup with the Sons in
the Conference Finals. Game one schedule for Sunday. Atlanta's plans
of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals thwarted by the Sixers,

(02:27:36):
as Philadelphia not actually one oh fourd toe win in
Game six Joel to mix it up a little bit there, Yeah,
twenty two points thirteen boards there for Joel and b.
Game seven of that series will take place on Sunday
as well. Some news on Friday afternoon, Shotani announcing he
will participate in the home run derby at Coors Field.
That will be exciting to watch. He hits moonshots and

(02:27:59):
hit a couple against Detroit on Friday night too on
runs and the Angels blowout victory over the Tigers. Dodgers
with a victory over these can I even say that
the Arizona stumbling at this point? They're just they're just bad. Um.
Fifteen straight losses for the Arizona Diamondbacks. They lose to
the Dodgers three nothing. You know what's funny, k Fig
real Fast is they have this. I think it's at

(02:28:20):
twenty three games that they've lost on the road, correct,
And so I checked real Fast today, I'm like, are
they on the road and they were at home. I'm like,
who cares? Considering the losing streak, Considering how many Dodger
fans were in Arizona, they might as well have been
on the road on Friday. To be honest with you,
that's kind of the norm whenever the Dodgers do travel
to Arizona. Uh. The Giants keep rolling twenty games over five.

(02:28:41):
Now they beat the Phillies five to three, two and
a half game lead on the Dodgers. In the n
O West A's with a victory over the Yankees, Royals
over the Red Sox Astros with a victory as well.
In golf, Russell Henley and Richard Bland tied for the
top spot of the US Open through two rounds and
in the Western Conference finals. In the NHL, Montreal a
two one series lead after defeating Las Vegas and overtime

(02:29:03):
back to Brian No. By the way, I'm curious the
honest assessment here, k fig, where do you stand on
puck h Are you a hockey guy at all? Uh?
It depends on who the who the teams that are participating,
But in the grand scheme of at to be totally honest,
not really I know. I don't know what it is.
It's it moves fast. There there's hitting right like, I

(02:29:27):
don't know why. I think it traces back. I got
a random story for you, Ki, you might enjoy this one. So, um,
I was running a station in Albany, New York. They
made me a program director at the time. Now, if
you're listening to be doing the show, you're like, who
are these people that are giving you the keys? I
could be a grown up, you know, I like to

(02:29:48):
let my hair down, but I can be a grown up.
And so anyway, I always a manager of the station.
And so this guy calls me up and we were
airing the local hockey teams games, the Albany Devil's. This
guy calls me up. He works for the local paper,
and he's like, hey, Brian, are you going to uh
extend your coverage? He emails me, actually sorry, he didn't

(02:30:09):
call me. Are you going to uh have a pregame
show and extend your coverage of Albany Devil's hockey? Now
this was just a cash grab. There's no ratings, no
one cares. Anybody who cares is at the game. No
one's listening to this, So they're paying us. There their
a game, an affiliate of the of the New Jersey Devils.
I'm assuming, or I think so, I really don't know.

(02:30:30):
I wasn't paying attention. Okay, fair enough, they don't move
the needle at all. There an afterthought, and so this
guy emails, You're gonna extend your coverage, and I email
them email him back, and I'm like, no, not at
this time. I was professional. I'm like, rolling my eyes,
Why on earth would we do that a pregame shore
Are you kidding me? But I'm like no, maybe maybe

(02:30:52):
sometime down the road, but not at this time. He
emails me back scathing response, Oh that's really unfortunate. We've
got professional teams in this area and they're not embraced
by the local media and Papa, I just let it go.
I don't respond, So I'm putting for dough. Later that night,
we go to a local golf course and gamble on

(02:31:14):
who could who could be better at putting? We're degenerates anyway.
This guy, he tweets me and he goes just talked
to w TMM program director Brian No informed me he
has no plans to extend their already limited coverage of
Albany Devil's Hockey and I made a mistake. K fig Okay,

(02:31:37):
it wasn't a gross mistake, but I did something wrong
where I gave him a little more soul that he
could use to his advantage. So my response was on
Twitter hashtag get a hobby. The next day, so I

(02:31:57):
show up for work and we're about to have a
met eating and all of a sudden, the dude that's
running the show, guy named Dan Austin, he comes and
he goes meeting done you my office? He's pointing at me.
I'm like, oh, this doesn't sound good, and so I
go there. All of a sudden, the Albany Devils, they
are ticked off, right. They're mad because this guy wrote

(02:32:22):
a column and it says, w TMM program director to
hockey fans, get a hobby. He totally twists this, takes
it out of context, makes it something it's not at all.
And I'm like, Dan, I never said that, granted I
shouldn't have tweeted him, and but he's making it into

(02:32:44):
something it's not at all. The Devils are like, this
is negative publicity. We're about to start the season. We
don't need this. They were a complete headache, you know,
just pain and the wrecked um just right, and uh,
people are tweeting me, They're tweeting the handle of my employer.
They're like, get rid of this guy, puck Daddy. That

(02:33:06):
was like the Yahoo Hockey blog they pick it up.
They've got screenshots of our tweets. The the the blog
had the same thing, like this is what he's saying
to all hockey fans. All these hockey fans are like,
hockey is the best sport. You suck? What do you know?
I think that had something to do with my my

(02:33:28):
lack of love for Puck so that it would make
sense to me. Yeah, she's it was wild. Yeah, I
can imagine. It's one of those where it's like, well,
you know what, I addressed the guy part privately on email.
I probably should have just left it at that, just
or give him the pr diplomatic answer. We appreciate your
support of the Devil's uh, and we'll discussing the future

(02:33:50):
extending guard coverage, but it's something we're not going to
explore at this time. Thank you for your support. Yeah,
but you know what, it was a good lesson and
I can in a you know, very very limited way,
I can relate to the concept of athletes where if
they bite back, right, if they're like, hey, why don't
you go jump in a river? Columnists that ripped me.

(02:34:12):
You know, if they do that, some of those columnists
are like, oh my gosh, how could you this big
bad man and he's coming after me. You're like, if
you just give him a morsel, some of them just
take it and run, and you're in a way word spot.
That's how it works, I know. By the way, I
have a random question for you, k fix with Paul

(02:34:34):
George shouting out Palm Dale. It's not a rough sounding town.
Here's my question. Don't think of the town's in actuality.
It's as if you know nothing about the towns at all.
Just based on names alone. What is the hardest sounding

(02:34:58):
city in America? Uh? You know what I mean? Like,
I've got a lot of soft sounding or you know whatever,
like des Moine. You're not like, oh gosh, stay away
from des Moines. That that place, right, Like, just based
on name recognition alone, I'm racking my brain. What is
the toughest sounding town just based on name alone? Wow? Um,

(02:35:21):
that's a tough one. I know. I'm gonna have to
think about it more like, name all these towns. South
Bend Okay, doesn't strike fear in your heart? Janesville Okay? Right, Like,
there's gotta be a town where you're like, man, it
sounds like renegades live in that town. I don't know
what the name is though, you know you gotta figure

(02:35:42):
this out before the show ends. Yeah, because there are
certain towns that you know might be tough, but they
don't necessarily have the name that sounds tough. East St.
Louis doesn't sound yeah, Yeah, you're right, like Compton doesn't
necessarily sound tough? About this? How about this Yonkers? Yes? Yes, absolutely, yeah, definitely.

(02:36:03):
We got a leader in the clubhouse right now. Subject
to change, but that it sounds tough, doesn't Yeah. I
don't think Island sound tough? Right? Is that a general
rule of thumb? Islands can't sound tough? I think so. Yeah.
I don't know about Iron Hills. You had me with

(02:36:31):
iron I have one feels like Iron Ridge or something.
Maybe you know it sounds like a golf course. What
do you have? Nick Nawbone, Indiana? I don't know. It
sounds like there is a hell in Michigan. Tombstone that's
a good one. What what state Arizona? Tombstone, Arizona. I

(02:36:55):
like that. That's pretty can see the movie. I've definitely
seen the movie. I just didn't know what state. Oh,
here's one, here's one bad Ax, Michigan. It's pretty good.
That's pretty strong. Yeah, we gotta we'll have to figure
this out. We've got Yonkers, I've got Tombstone. What is it?
Bad as bad as That's a real town, that's not

(02:37:20):
just a nickname. Wow, what did you google? Like heart
sound google toughest signing city names and gave me thirty
one the scariest town names in America's Okay, I want
to hear more of these. We'll get to a couple
of hard sounding town names. Because Paul George shouting out
Palm Dale. I don't think that's on your list there, Nick,

(02:37:40):
I don't think that's going to be on that website.
We'll find out. Also the bad forecast before we get
out of here as well. I'm Brian No keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. Fox Sports Radio
has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch
all of our shows at Fox sports radio dot com
and within the I Heart Radio app. Search f s
R to listen live. Why are you doing to this?

(02:38:03):
Why are you doing this to us? Chris? You just
felt like punishing us out the door here that what's
going on. I don't it was about It's probably like
five years ago now. It's always longer than it seems.
But they played this song constantly during the college football season.

(02:38:26):
I can just hear Chris Fowler and Kirk Herb Streets
voice voices over this, the one small refrain there that
remember me part Yes like nails and chalkboard. It really Yeah,
it's not that bad of a song. It's a catchy
chorl way too much. Oh man, they beat it to death.

(02:38:48):
It's crazy. Um okay, before we get to hard town
names on the way out. Mike Conley, the Utah Jazz
fortunately had the hamstring injury. He gave it a go
on Friday night, only five points, one for eight from
the field. Now I look at this and I apply
it to Harden. If we spend this thing forward, I'm

(02:39:09):
not expecting a great game from Harden. There's a couple
of people that are like I went to a barber
today in Portland. My guy Abe shout out and AB's
like Oh yeah, Harden's dropping thirty. I'm like, you're on drugs.
There's no way he can't move. A big part of
Harden's game is going to the rack. He can't do that.
He's a jump shooter. He's like Joe Harris right now.

(02:39:30):
But yeah, a big part of his game two is
the step back three hardness completely limited. So I'm not
rooting for it to happen. I just don't see him
coming close to dropping thirty. And then it comes on.
It falls on k D. Kyrie can't go. It's on
k D having this insanely monstrous game. I don't think
they're gonna be able to score enough. I've got the bucks.

(02:39:53):
Who's with me? I'm just curious, Chris, Nick, k Fig?
Who you have in game seven? Are you going Bucks?
Are you going nets? Let's start with you, Nick, Who
do you have? It's hard for me to go against
Katie and I got I have to go Nets on
this going nets? Okay, ka Fig, you come into the
dark side here hashtag fear the Deer. Yeah for the bucks.

(02:40:15):
For me, they I have to see it before I
can actually pick them, so I don't trust them in
a big spot like this. All right. Hey, I get that, Chris.
How can I entice you or is it all against No,
You've got me in a bad spot because on one hand,
I want to believe in the box. I want to
be believing onto the Koumpo and I am I am.

(02:40:36):
The problem though, is in the Fox Sports Radio producers
Brackett Challenge, I have Nets over the Suns in the
final right now, and that's looking really good and I
stand to win a two dollar gift card. I don't
want again go against that because I'm pretty sure I'm
the only one who has that matchup, but you might be.

(02:40:57):
I've got nets and clippers, but I'm pretty sure a
couple of other people love that too. Yeah, but I uh,
heart is with the box. I really want there. You go. Okay,
you got a bet up with your heart? Yeah? Okay?
Two to two? Tag team Chris and myself versus k
Fig and Nick. Right, too short on time to come

(02:41:19):
up with tag team nicknames the bush Whackers versus the
Nasty Boys the world with the child. Sorry, Yeah, I
was going as far as like original names. Now that's
a whole other ball game. I can't do that, by
the way, real fast before hard Town names. I heard
them say this, best two words in sports. You know what,
The best two words in sports are super Bowl. I

(02:41:42):
love Game seven. Game seven is great, but it's number
two on the list. The best two words in sports
are super Bowl. Super Bowl is a Game seven every year, right,
so it's I don't think there's a much difference. Is
the biggest game we got? What Game seven is ever
close to as big as the super Bowl? Nothing? Nothing?

(02:42:04):
So yeah, the best two words in sports in my book,
at least super Bowl. You can see it in another way,
but you know that's how I haven't scored. Okay, so
we get back to, uh, the hard town names. And
now I was looking at this. Uh, I was looking
at various websites here I ran across this one is
pretty high on the list. Scarville, Iowa. The reason I'm

(02:42:29):
talking about this because Paul George, after the Clippers one
getting to the Western Conference finals, he shouted out his hometown,
Paul Dale. And I'm like, that's not a hard sounding
name to shout, Like what would sound hard to shout Scarville?
If he were to say that, that sounds way tougher.
Is that at the top of the list, we've got

(02:42:50):
Yonkers the Bronx. What do you say, Chris, I'm going Scarville,
You Bronx morons. Bronx Talk Radio Sunday Morning, catch it,
fuel the flow. Everybody, have a good day. We'll see
you
