Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Welcome in everybody, Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday, Territorius,
Jason Martin. We are broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios. Yes, we are live eleven pm Eastern Time,
eight Pacific. We're coming off of Bloodbath in Minnesota. Final score.

(00:26):
It has gone final Minnesota one forty three, Oklahoma City
one oh one.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
J Mark before we get into that game.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
And pretty much everything else that has gone on in
the world of sports over the last couple of days.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
How you doing. How's your holiday weekend going so far?
It's not too bad. Man. Life is life, but it's
a it's a good thing. When you got two daughters.
Sometimes it can be a little bit challenging, but it's
been fine. Saw a movie last night and watched during
the forty five minutes of trailers, the end of Nicks

(01:01):
Pacers on my phone, so technology rains. I'm able to
watch the end of that game while it's happening, so
we're multitasking. We got the Monaco Grand Prix. I don't
know if you know this about me, but I've developed
a pretty big curiosity in F one, so I've kind
of been watching that pretty closely this season kind of
getting into it. As a matter of fact, I think
it might be because you know, all the time I've

(01:23):
been doing sports talk or sports coverage, I've never covered
F one, well really Nascar or anything like that. So
it's like I can just watch this as a fan,
you know, like I can. I can actually kind of
watch this and decide to get into it on my
own knowing that we're not really gonna talk F one
on this show. So it's actually become kind of a
little side hobby that I like, Well, you know, I

(01:44):
always joke about it this time of year. Maybe you don't.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Other people tease me about it, but I actually get
into college baseball this time of year, and it's for
the exact same reason. It's like I don't have to
have a take. I don't pretend that I know what's
going on. I just throw it on and you know,
I I've won. I find it very compelling, especially this
time of year. I mean, listen, all postseason sports are.

(02:07):
But yeah, so I'm in the exact same boat as you.
It's kind of that time where it feels like the
sports calendar slows down a little bit, but yeah, still
plenty to talk about. And let's start with the game
that did just go final in Minnesota. As I said,
one forty three, one oh one, I already see I
already hear you sighing, J Mart.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
So I'm gonna give you the floor.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
I think there are some interesting conversations big picture about
this series. But what do you think when I hear
when I tell you that Minnesota won by forty two
points in a game that was a twenty point deficit
after the first quarter and was frankly never really close
from there.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, I mean, most people know I'm a Thunder fan,
so that's kind of why I sighed. But this is
exactly what I expected. I'd necessarily expect it to be
forty two points, but I expected a pretty convincing timber Wolves.
It's their whole season. I did not understand, and I'll
say this, Thunder were obviously the better team in the
first two games, and they're the better team overall. But
I did not understand why after Game two everybody seemed

(03:10):
to go on TV the next day, including the highest
paid guy in all sports media now went on TV
and said, Oh, They're gonna get swept. I was like, why,
because the Thunder won two home games. Yep, because that's
what we saw. They went back home and guess what happened.
What always happens. Role players don't show up on the road,
they show up at home. And so a lot of
the guys that basically disappeared over the first two games arrived.

(03:35):
You had Alexander Walker making plays, you had the Vincenzo
making plays. Randall had a nice game. I mean, they
were just doing a lot of things right early in
this game, and they got out to a good start,
and I figured what would happen is they would get
up to a fairly big lead, and if that did happen,
then the thunder would probably just kind of shut it down.
They're not gonna waste that much energy to try to
come back in that game. Like I think they probably

(03:57):
knew by halftime when it was like thirty point games
that we're not coming back here. So let's save this
one for game four. If they win Game four, the
series is over. If t Wolves win it, then we
still have a series because it's too two and it's
all you know, everything is still on serve. But I
don't have a gigantic take here. I was just kind
of baffled by the thunder doing what you're supposed to

(04:19):
do as the seed with home advantage, win the two
games at home, look good doing so that all of
a sudden the Timberwolves were gonna get swept. That did
not ever make sense to me. I from the beginning
felt like this was probably a six game series. Yeah,
it's funny.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
We'll obviously talk about Knicks Pacers here in a little bit,
but I think if you want to argue that the
Pacers are up two to oh after winning two at MSG,
and literally no team has ever lost the first two
in the conference finals that come back to win the series,
you want to argue that one's over, that's fine.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
You know, I'm pretty much with you.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah, I was gonna say, like I could, I don't
want to say I could say say that I saw
a sweep coming, but ultimately you have two double figure wins.
The Timberwolves in game or excuse me, Oklahoma City in
Game two was up by as much as I believe
twenty four in the second half, so that one wasn't
really close. But I'm with you is that I didn't
think that just because okay See dominated the first two

(05:16):
games that this series was in any way, shape or
form over let me just ask you this. You know
you mentioned guys stepping up. You know, Julius Randall was
basically a complete no show in the first two games,
had a much, much, much well, I don't want to
say it was a complete no show, but he was pretty.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Good in game one. He was really bad in game two.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Correct, and that's that's probably more accurate way to say it.
But he had twenty four tonight. As you said, we
don't need to go through the entire box score. I
think I already know the answer just based on what
you told me a minute ago. Does it change? Does
this result change at all your perspective on this series?

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Obviously?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Look, we got some something you know, reminiscent of the
best version of the Minnesota timber Wolves. Listen when he
scored one hundred and forty three points. That tends to
happen when you have I'm looking now seven players scoring
double figures, led by Anthony Edwards thirty twenty four from Randall. Again,
you feel pretty good about you know, how you're gonna

(06:11):
perform on that night. But does it ultimately change anything
or is it just Hey, like you said, the entire
season was on the line. Oka C figured out pretty
early they probably didn't have it, and rather than expend energy, risk, injury.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Et cetera, kind of called off the dogs.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Does this change at all the perspective of the series
or is this just or you know, does it change
the Does it change your perspective on what's gonna happen
or is this just kind of like you said a
minute ago, because exactly what you're kind of expecting.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, I don't think it changes my perspective. I still
think Oklahoma City is the better team of the two,
and I think that will be proven out. But at
the same time, I mean, Minnesota is a pretty good
basketball team, and when they're firing on all cylinders the
way they were in this game, they're gonna be tough
to beat. I mean, they shot fifty eight to seven
percent from the field and we're twenty of forty five three.

(07:01):
They couldn't buy a three pointer on the road, but
they made a ton at home, which is kind of
what you expect. Then on the flip side, Oklahoma City
was fourteen to forty four from three and they were
barely forty percent from the field. So I just feel
like this is a home team with their season basically
on the brink, doing what you should do. If you're
in the Western Conference Finals, you should answer this bell.

(07:23):
If you're Minnesota, I'm not taking away from what they did.
I'm saying this is what you should expect if you're
a t Wolves fan and you believe in this team
at all, and that's what you've seen. And look the
Knicks and Pacers. The Pacers winning two at MSG like
the next season is on the line, similarly, but at
the same time, like them going on the road and

(07:43):
having to do this. Not only is that a bigger challenge,
it's just I mean, it ramps up everything now the Pacers,
if they're able to pull off Game three, they're able
to win at home the way that they should if
their guys are comfortable in the building and everything else.
The Knicks are going to be gripping and trying to
do maybe too much, and that puts you in this spot.
But Minnesota just came home and all they have to

(08:04):
do is continue to win. I think this makes Game
four much more interesting. I think that's maybe the only takeaway.
I still believe ultimately Oklahoma City is just built to
win this series and built to win this championship this year.
But yeah, oh yeah, I mean, I mean they are
my team. Sixty eight games in the regular season. I

(08:25):
don't think it's like I'm taking a giant leap here.
But whoever they face coming out of the East is
going to be a challenge, whether it is the next
or it's this Pacers team that I feel like has
probably been disrespected more than anybody in the league throughout
this season because they did this last year and then
people acted like they were going to be nothing this year.

(08:47):
And you saw Siakam go off, and you've seen what
Halliburton's done. But I don't think Rick Carlisle's gotten enough credit.
And I think Minnesota at this stage, I think Minnesota
got the got They got all the talk last year
and then this year. I just don't know what happened.
After Game two. I was trying to understand that discourse.
It's like, why are we going to this place? Why

(09:08):
does this become the take? Why are you trying to
get ahead of this train after falling behind it? Like,
this is a basketball series that is two to zero
with the home team winning two games. That's exactly what
is supposed to happen. Let's slow our role. Ope, I
think Torris might might have had a little tech issue there,
So I'll continue to talk Minnesota one forty three Oklahoma

(09:29):
City one oh one. Again, Minnesota just handled business. They
did what they had to do. Anthony Edwards has been
okay in this series. I mean, but here in this game,
it was more that he was super efficient. He was
twelve or seventeen from the field, He was five of
eight from three. He still didn't take you thirty shots
or anything like that, but he was a plus minus rating.
He was a plus thirty six on the floor, and
Randall was a plus thirty eight. It was just a

(09:51):
kind of night where the home team had no choice
but to win, and so they went out and kind
of handled their business. The question is are they gonna
be able to pull that off in game four? Because
I do think that you got the benefit in this
game because it got out of reach that quickly. Shay
only played twenty eight minutes of this game. Jay with
Williams only played twenty five minutes of this game. Chet

(10:11):
only played twenty one minutes in this game. Like no
starter for Oklahoma City played more than twenty eight minutes
and the same is true of Minnesota, right because it
was so out of hand, they were able to kind
of get a little bit more rest. So I'll be
curious to see if both teams have a little bit
more gas because we are in the spot where we
have every other day there's a game being played in

(10:33):
both these series, and I think if you look at
the Eastern Conference, you are seeing a Knicks team that
looks pretty tired. Now we'll see whether or not they're
able to answer the bell on the road against Indiana
in Game three, but like Brunson, looked pretty tired down
the stretch. And I've read a couple of articles talking
about kind of the inefficiency of the starting five of

(10:56):
the Knicks, and maybe they were a little overvalued to
begin with. I don't think that they're the best starting
five in the league or anything, and pretty much the
team continues to go as Brunton goes. It was Brunson
that had to take that three in Game two, even
though like it was a it was a fairly clean look,
but man, it was a deep three and it seemed quick.

(11:18):
But maybe that's maybe the feeling is if you're bruntsing,
I'm not going to get a more open try than this.
If I try to look for a better shot, I
may end up with one that's fifty or sixty percent
worse and have no chance at making it, but doesn't
make the shot in Indiana wins that game, and the
exhaustion factor for the Knicks because they played so hard

(11:39):
they had to play into overtime in Game one to lose,
and then in Game two they kind of chased all night,
but they were right there in the mix. That that
I think is a little bit different. I don't think
the exhaustion factor is the same when you look at
Minnesota and Oklahoma City. But Game four will be coming
up on Monday one oh one. We will have a

(12:00):
series there. It's still on surf. As a matter of fact,
with the home team winning all three games, we're gonna
come back. We're gonna talk more about that Eastern Conference
Finals as a matter of fact, as Game three is
set to go. And just a reminder for the best

Speaker 3 (12:51):
Welcome back in Fox Sports Saturday. Here. I'm Jason Martin.
Artori As will rejoin me here momentarily. If you missed it,
Tea Wolves are still alive. One winners over the top
seeded Oklahoma City Thunder game took place in Minnesota season

(13:12):
basically on the line for them, You're not coming back
down three to zero, and so the Tea Wolves got
the job done. If you look at the other side
of this, when you look at the Eastern Conference Knicks
down two lose both games at home, and both games
kind of in heartbreaking fashion. Obviously game one we haven't

(13:34):
certainly Torris and I haven't been on since that game
took place. I don't think enough has been said about
the bounce that Haliburton got on the shot. I know
everybody's talking about, Yeah, there was a foot on the line,
just barely, kind of the Kevin Durant deal that we
saw in that series with the Bucks years ago. Here

(13:57):
Haliburton hits this shot, and of course he's doing the
chill symbol, trying to relive the Reggie Miller moment from
years and years ago. And at the same time, like,
I don't think that we've talked enough about just how
insane the bounce he got was, Like, yes, it was
just one bounce, but I can probably count on half

(14:19):
of a hand how many times I've seen the ball
go up that high and then just drop straight through
the net like that. And as good as Nimbhard and
those guys were down the stretch and they were phenomenal,
don't get me wrong, Like it all still would have
gone for not if you don't get that role. Like
that bounce was insane. And I'm watching the crowd in

(14:43):
the background as you watch the replay of that, and
they're just they they go crazy when the ball goes
in the air because they think it's over, because of
course they do, because that bounce just doesn't happen and
it goes through and everybody's talking about how the Nicks
choked it and all this. I'm like, dude, that was
one of the lucky, most ridiculous bounces I've seen. That

(15:03):
was crazier to me than the bounce that Kawhi got
on the shot from the corner that knocked out Embiid
and the Sixers years ago, the year when Toronto actually
won the championship. So I'm not sure that that was
talked about enough. But the point here is that game
was devastating for Nicks fans, yes, but for the Knicks

(15:24):
themselves when you consider the effort put into it to
lose it at home that way. I mean, I saw
all the shots of Jaylen Brunson's face after that game
and just kind of the still photos that some of
the media were using for their coverage, and you could
tell like he was beat like he was just like,
oh my goodness, I can't believe we found a way
to lose this game. And so then the Pacers come

(15:47):
into Game two and you think, well, the Knicks are
going to be all over them, and they just weren't.
The Pacers came back in and completely forced the issue
they were more physical, they were more aggressive, and even
though it still comes down to being a five point
game in the end, the Pacers still find a way
to outlast them. And the Knicks have gotten no it's
been no quarter here, They've gotten no break. They haven't

(16:10):
Like if see as a thunderfan, I'm fine getting blown
out by forty two because Shay only had twenty eight
minutes on the floor tonight. But in that game, I mean,
you got brunts and playing constantly, you got dudes fouling
out because of how much effort is being put into
the games, and you lose both of them. That to
me is much tougher to come back around, not just

(16:31):
the fact that you lost at home, but you lost
two home games in dramatic negative fashion, Like, yes, the
loss is always going to be bad, but especially when
you're winded at the end of that thing and you're
gassed out and you've played an extra five minutes and
all these games are only with the one day break,

(16:51):
So when you go back on the floor tomorrow night,
how much are you going to have left in the tank?
These first two games been decided by a combined eight points,
but you lost them both. If you're the Knicks, and
the odds I think now are even favoring the Pacers because,
as Torres said in the first segment, nobody's ever come

(17:11):
back from O two losing the first two at home
in the history NBA playoffs. So, like Jalen, Brunson has
written a lot of history for the Knicks. Like most
thirty point games, he's already passed Patrick Ewing and all
of the greats in Knicks history. He just he looks
like he's gonna go down as one of the most
famous Knicks of all time. So this is how you
make that legacy. You go to Indiana and you pull

(17:34):
this thing back on Serve, and you come back and
you win three in a row, and it's three to two,
go into Game six and the Knicks are up. Then
this Brunson thing happens, because I don't think there is
a chance in the world you come back three to
two or even win tomorrow without Brunson having another one
of those games. He can't be off. And I think
that they have come to a realization. I don't know

(17:55):
if anybody noticed this in Game two, but Karl Anthony
Towns wasn't on the floor in crucial spots in the
fourth quarter, and I think it's because they haven't been
as effective with that unit on the floor. They've been
more effective with guys like Mitchell Robinson in there playing defense,
doing some of the blue collar dirty work, because that's

(18:15):
not what Carl Anthony Towns really wants to do. And
if Carl Anthony Towns is not forcing the issue to
the hole or is not making his threes, then he
can be a liability for you. And it's not that
he's not putting forth the effort. He's just not that
great a defensive player at his size. He's gonna get
a block or two here and there, and he's gonna
have some rebounds, but generally his impact is muted because

(18:40):
he's so offensively driven, like the way that he plays
the game. So I'm curious to see if Tom Thibodeau
is actually gonna play Carl Anthony Towns less going forward
in the rest of the series and almost let him
captain the second unit. I actually saw a piece of
the athletic almost to that same to that same point
that they just haven't been as effective with their original

(19:01):
starting five on the floor, and so they kind of
maneuvered around and they're finding ways to get other guys
into the game that sort of give them a bit
more balance of what they're doing. But it all comes
down to Game three for them. If you go down
O three and you're on the road, that's gonna be curtains.

(19:22):
You're not gonna win four in a row. It's just
flat out not going to happen. And the Pacers know
that as well as the Knicks. And I don't think
that the Pacers have been discussed enough as a team. Yes,
you've had you know, Halburton's dad was talked about and
all this, But this is a really good basketball team.
It's led by a really good coach in Rick Carlisle

(19:45):
that seems to dial up the right stuff. Like there's
some guys where you see them coaching or you see
what's happening on the floor, and you can just tell
whatever this system is, there's something in a mix like
if you ever played telephone as a kid, where you're
giving the message through somebody's ear and you go down
the line and by the end of it it makes
no sense compared to what the original message was. It

(20:07):
kind of feels that way. Sometimes it's like they're playing telephone,
like there's four or five other people that are obstacles
between what the coach is saying and what's actually taking
place on the floor. There's some kind of a massive
disconnect that happens there. But with the Pacers, you can
just kind of see what they're doing, and they're definitely
trying to push the pace on the necks a little
bit because I do think they know that the Knicks

(20:30):
are a bit exhausted and that the Knicks were going
to go for broke early and if the Pacers were
able to actually force the issue on them, then they
might run them out of gas. And maybe they did.
Maybe that's why Brunson's shot was just not where it
needed to be in that moment. But I think the
other thing that we just have to recognize. It wasn't

(20:51):
a factor in Game three in Minnesota, for sure, but
it has been a factor in both of these two
games in the Eastern Conference its finals. It's the team
that makes the place at the end it wins. It
is like if you watch the first forty five minutes
of a basketball game, the last three minutes is still
gonna dictate it unless it's gotten out of reach. And

(21:15):
in the case of the Knicks in Game one, even
then there could be a comeback in that last two
and a half or three minutes that will shock you.
But it's who is going to play, what play the
best in those clutch moments late in the games, Who
do you trust more? And outside of bruntson, I don't
think that there's anybody on the Knicks that you really
are fearful of if you are an opposing team at

(21:37):
this point. Like Josh Hart's a nice player, Karl Anthony Towns,
he's out there. Certainly he can hit a big shot,
but he's never been known as a clutch player. Og
pretty solid player as well, and then there's Michael Bridges,
who I just don't see that clutchness in him. And

(21:58):
then you look at it. I mean, Hal Burton's made
these Sam has made some of these shots. This Spacers
team has been sort of overlooked for two or three
seasons now, and they kind of made a habit of
doing things like this, and so they find themselves with
a two oh lead because in those moments where you're
made or broken in sports, they seem to be at
their best and the Knicks have been at their worst.

(22:20):
They've made some big turnovers, they've had some key misses.
They've just kind of had some mental lapses here and there.
They said they took the foot off the gas in
game one, and you could say that, but the Pacers
just put the pedal to the medal. So maybe it
happened simultaneously that the Knicks opened them up, but at
the same time it kind of worked in reverse as well.

(22:43):
So Game three is certainly going to determine the series.
When you look at Knicks and Pacers, you're looking at
a Piacers team that understands. And they said this. Siakam
said this after the game. He said, we know what
we have to do. We're up too. Oh, we know
exactly what we have to do. And he does we
all do. If they go and they win and it's
three to zero, you can hang this one up. It

(23:03):
might be over and four. I don't think the Knicks
are gonna get swept even if they lose three. I
do not see a universe where they lose in game four.
But so far in this series, Indiana has just been
better in the moments that matter most. Even if the
Knicks controlled Game one, it doesn't matter in the end.
If you're not able to close if you're not able

(23:24):
to finish, And even though I think they have a
great closer in Brunson, I don't know that that team
is quite ready yet to show that closing gene that
they need at this moment. So we'll talk more about that.
We're gonna talk about shake Gil, just Alexander and sort
of the controversy around not him winning MVP, but how
he plays and how he earns a lot of the

(23:47):
points that he scores. Some of that discourse this week
coming from all sides, so we'll talk about that here
in just a moment. Let's go to Steve to Saga
for the first time tonight and find out what's trending
in the world of sports.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
Steve hello there and they were chanting against SGA at
Minnesota along those lines, So we will get to a
great stat from hockey as the Hurricanes lost again tonight
but will lead with the NBA as Game three of
the Western Conference Finals at Minnesota was dominated by the
Timberwolves over Oklahoma City one forty three to one oh one.
Anthony Edwards thirty points in thirty minutes. Julius Randall scored

(24:23):
twenty four the lead late second quarter was seventy two
to thirty eight. Oklahoma City leads the series two games
to one in the East. Game three is Sunday night
at Indiana, with the Pacers leading two games to none
over New York. New York's w NBA team is three
and zero after winning at Indiana today ninety to eighty eight.
Caitlin Clarke in defeat eighteen points, tennisists and ten turnovers.

(24:47):
Out of the NHL Playoffs, Florida's up three games to
none in the East Final after whipping Carolina a strong
third period six to the final. It was tied one
to one going to the third. Amazingly, Sports in Canada
points out that the Hurricanes are actually nearing the longest
losing streak ever in any single round of a postseason

(25:09):
over the years. You see, the Carolina team won the
Conference finals in two thousand and six, won the Cup
that year as well. They have not won a Conference
finals game since. They are zero and fifteen in this
round since two thousand and six. Wow, and the Hurricanes bench.
They're starting goalie Frederick Anderson. Before this game, they were

(25:32):
at least in this game going to the third, but
then Florida scored five unanswered goals in about ten minutes.
A reminder, Fox has all the IndyCar races this year.
That means Fox TV has the Indy five hundred on Sunday.
On this holiday weekend, there are two late games in
Major League Baseball. The Phillies have won eight in a row.
The Phills are leading the A's in Sacramento three to

(25:53):
two in the bottom of the fifth inning. The A's
have lost ten in a row. The Angels have an
eight game winning streak on the line. In Anaheim, the
Marlins go to the bottom of the fifth leading the
Halos three to one. Everything else is final. The game
that was on Fox TV for much of the country
had the Mets in New York beating the Dodgers five
to two. Juan Soto a two run double home wins

(26:14):
for Tampa Bay and the White Sox home wins for
Cincinnati and Atlanta, which whipped the Padres seven to one.
Ronald Acunya with another home run. He homerd not only
in his first at bat last night, but on the
first pitch he saw after being out a year with
a tour in acl Cleveland and ten innings wonted Detroit
seven to five wins for Washington and Houston. Wins for

(26:35):
Pittsburgh and the Yankees, who got upset at Colorado last
night but beat up the Rockies today thirteen to one.
Aaron Judge with his eighteenth homer that leads the majors.
Colorado's record is nine and forty three. Saint Louis beat
Arizona six to five with two runs bottom of the eighth,
Minnesota with a run bottom of the ninth, edge Kansas
City five to four, and Baltimore was able to split

(26:57):
a doubleheader at Boston. Red Sox took the the opener
in ten inning, six to five, but Baltimore took the
nightcap two to one.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
By the way.

Speaker 5 (27:04):
Boston star infielder Alex Bregman was placed on the injured
list with a quote significant quad injury.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
Back to you, thank you, Steve oh Man want Soto.
He had a double that scored some runs. That's good.
I wonder if he checked that one out like you
did that single the other day.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
Oh that's why it was a single. Yes, sorry, you
need to run out of the box. Indeed, matting average
run is up to two forty one for one.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
So boy, that is a I need to do the
math to figure out how how many dollars per point
on that batting average that turns out to be if
he's two forty one making the kind of money that
he is making.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
Yeah, okay's slow, snarter or not. We're almost to June.
He's still getting paid the full dollars these first two months.

Speaker 3 (27:53):
Yeah, that's right. You're not paid based on your performance.
Now you're paid in advance. And uh, they're gonna see
what he's gonna be able to do as we move
a little bit further on into the summer. A guy
that's gonna get paid and a guy that has already
won some awards. His team's up to one in the
Western Conference Finals right now, that's the Oklahoma City Thunder
Shake Gilgess Alexander wins his first MVP that announced earlier

(28:15):
this week. And the interesting thing surrounding this is this
discourse about Shake Gilges Alexander being incredibly hard to root
for because he is a foul merchant. A free throw merchant,
I think, is what Doris Burk said on the air.
Whatever that means, but obviously yes, he foul baits like

(28:41):
most of the NBA. I guess now listen, I am
a Thunder fan. Most people know that now, so that notwithstanding, Yeah,
there are some moments where I wish they didn't blow
the whistle. When he throws the ball up when it's
clearly like he's leaning in and he that's no interest
in actually making the shot. But he's only doing what

(29:03):
a bunch of other people are doing. And I'm not
even trying to play what about ishm here, I'm saying
until that, I don't know how you fix that rule.
I'm not exactly sure how you adjudicate that or find
a way to balance it out. But until it changes,
why would you not do it? Like? You can call
it whatever you want, but right now you can call
it number one seed in sixty eight wins if you're
the Oklahoma City Thunder and the MVP in the league.

(29:25):
And he did this last year too, But this is
not the first guy in the history of basketball to
do this. That was an all time great like Paul
Pierce used to drive me insane doing this. We all
know James Harden made a living doing this for years
and years, especially in Houston. Lebron James does this and

(29:50):
has done it throughout much of his career. And I
could name guy after guy after guy. Kobe was knocked
with this at different times in his career. I do
think that, like when you get to older guys who
shot a lot of free throws per game, like you
would have Michael Jordan's shot more free throws on average
per game than Shake Guild Just Alexander has. But Jordan

(30:11):
was getting hacked by the Pistons and he was legitimately
being fouled on most all these plays. And then when
you look at it now, some of those you can
look at and kind of side eye and question. But
the rules are set up in a way where if
you're favoring the offense or whatever, I don't know what
are you supposed to do. I don't know how you're
supposed to fix it. And then defensively, I'm not sure

(30:32):
what you're supposed to do about it either. It makes
Shake Guild Just Alexander almost unguardable because you're gonna give
up points one or two different ways, whether it's at
the free throw line or the shot being made or both.
But what do you I don't how do you fix
the rule. You can't go replay everyone and then determine

(30:53):
whether or not it's baiting. This is not the same
thing as flopping. Flopping is much more obvious and easy
to see. Here. If it's a foul, what do you
do do you change it and say it's a foul
on him? You can't find him after the fact. You
can't change anything else. And again, it's so prevalent in
the NBA now, especially kind of the less physical nature

(31:15):
of this NBA and the way that it's all geared
towards offense, that all it does now is winning the MVP.
And you look at this guy, and when he was
coming out of Kentucky, like you knew he was going
to be good. I don't think anybody thought he was
gonna be this good. I don't because I don't think

(31:36):
he would ever been traded to Oklahoma City the way
that he was in that Paul George deal that sent
Paul George to the Clippers. I mean, imagine the Clippers
now watching Shake Gill, just Alexander and wondering, man, maybe
we got that one wrong. But he goes to a
team with a great executive in Sam Presty, that has
drafted well. They had some lean years, but then now

(31:58):
all of a sudden, everybody there and now the question
is being asked, is this better than the team that
went to the NBA Finals that has three guaranteed Hall
of Famers on it in Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden,
And then of course you had Serge Ibaka, and I
mean that team's loaded. They really were. That's Scott Brooks
team that lost to the Heatles. This team as a unit,

(32:19):
I think is better because they don't just stand around
watching one guy do all the work or two guys
do all the work. Everybody gets involved and they are
a much better defensive basketball team I think than that
team was back twenty twelve, right around that era. As
good as that team was, as much fun as I
had watching my guys win at that point in time.

(32:41):
But now, Shake Gilliges, Alexander is your MVP of the league,
and Game four, he's gonna have the opportunity to show
why he won that award on the road against Minnesota.
When we come back, we'll finish up the first hour
of the show. One more take on the NBA and
things that are happening here in the playoffs. I've not
talked about the UH, the other NBA, the w NBA

(33:04):
Trust me, it's coming an hour or two. You don't
want to go anywhere, Stick around. I'm Jason Martin, eron
Torres with me here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Welcome back everybody, Fox Sports Radio erin Torres, Jason Martin,
broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. J Martin,
I actually got to hear I was scrambling. I am
remote today. I want bore people with too many details.
Hopefully there's no further issues. But was scrambling to put
together the internet during what I guess would have been

(33:31):
the end of the first segment, and then of course
that that segment at about eleven twenty Eastern time.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
I got to listen to your shade takes. So you know, one, I.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
Appreciate you holding down the fort two knock on what
we have no issues. But three you said that you
had a take that you are ready to get off
your chest about the other series. So I I I
guess while I was gone, you have not talked Pacers,
NIX and IT.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
I talked to it. No, I talked a bit of it.
You were tuning in and out because you were working
on getting everything going. It wasn't a bold tag. It
was just that I mean, this Pacers team needs to
be talked about more because they didn't come from nowhere,
like they were right there with the Knicks last year
in a classic series and you're seeing it again, and

(34:16):
this is a team that this series is being made
or broken. Like the thing that's really hurtful if you're
a Knicks fan is the amount of effort they've had
to expend to lose two games in this series at home.
They had to go to overtime and lost. But the
thing that I was kind of baffled by, and you
tell me if I'm wrong on this, but like the

(34:36):
discourse about Game one and the collapse and everything else,
and obviously the three points shooting down the stretch for
the Pacers, who were just an incredible clutch team, but
the bounce that Haliburton got on the shot, like everybody's
worried about, oh, he's got a foot on the line,
kind of like Duran did against the Bucks. Dude, I couldn't.
I can't tell you a bounce that was more for

(35:00):
tuitous than that, Like it's been so high in the
air the entire crowd thought he missed it and then
it drops straight through perfectly like crazy. After even with that,
even with the near collapse and everything else, the Knicks
still win the game if that thing doesn't drop in.
And so this whole, this whole thing is completely different.
Like that is one of the luckiest like just ricochet

(35:24):
bounces I have ever seen. I compared it to Kawhi
against the Sixers years ago, but this one was even
more improbable because of the height the ball got off
the back of the iron. It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
I let me ask you a question because I was
thinking about this today with the Knicks. So the Knicks
are obviously a great story. I think if you don't
have a rooting interest one of those three teams, they're
easy to wrap their arms around. My question is, and
I think I might be guilty of this. I want
to give you the floor. Isn't it all possible that
we kind of overrated them coming into the series?

Speaker 3 (35:55):
And let me let me give you the case.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
So the Piston series, they win Game one, in which
I believe what was the stat twenty four nothing run
or something like that was some kind of crazy run.
They win the preceding three games by two points, one point,
and three points.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Now they're their credit.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
They closed out some wins There was obviously the controversial
Josh Hart no call, but three of the four wins
were by three points or less against the uh against
the Pistons, and then of course Game one Game two
against Boston prior to the Tatum injury, they had to
overcome twenty plus point deficits. So like I and this
sounds like, oh, this is just Torrez finding another way
to discredit the Pacers.

Speaker 3 (36:31):
It's not what I'm doing.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
I'm just sitting there saying, like, like, when something surprising happens,
and I do think the Knicks being down two is
at least a little bit surprising because they're at home,
Like I think you try to put together the pieces
of why is it? Why could this have happened? And
should we have seen it coming? And I think a
lot of it is the Pacers are just flat out
maybe just better than they've been given credit for this whole.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Time, like you just said.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
But I am wondering if the Knicks, maybe you know,
the story was a little bit better than the actual
totality of the Mormans twenty factor in a couple big comebacks,
a couple close, one controversial win, and then of course
a Celtics series that kind of took a swing permanently
in their favor on the Tatum entry.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Yeah, I mean, I think you're right. I think a
lot of it goes back to last year and this
story kind of developing there, and then what happened in
the offseason with the trade and the moves that were made,
and then you get into it and yeah, I think
you can overrate it really easy, and the Knicks are
going to You're going to air I think in that
direction with some of these bigger market teams. The one
thing I read this piece of the Idle like from

(37:32):
their Knicks beat writer after Game two, and it basically said,
if you floid through this postseason, the biggest problem for
the Knicks has been their starting five has been very seamless. That, yeah,
they have not played well together, and they've been better
when they put in a guy like Mitchell Robinson or
somebody else that gives them something different on the floor
and wants to do some of the dirty work. And

(37:52):
I did suggest when you were out here just a
little while ago that I think there's a universe where
Thibodeau is going to continue to not play Karl Anthony
Town quite as often because if he is off with
his shot, all of a sudden, he can become a
liability because he's not a dude that puts forth a
ton of effort defensively. He's not a guy that spreads

(38:13):
the floor for you on that side. And so maybe
you have him captain your second unit and have Brunson
out there with with a Mitchell Robinson or one of
those kind of guys to give you a little bit
of different balance and.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
A different look. That's really interesting. So here's the stat
that I saw today. This is from Nix Muse on Twitter.
The Knixt starting lineup has now played three hundred and
eight minutes together this postseason. They have a net rating
of minus ten point six to two. For context, the
worst team in the NBA, the Utah Jazz, had a
net rating of minus nine.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Point three this season.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
So basically, the Knixt starting five on the court together
is worse than the worst team in the NBA this season,
the Utah Jazz.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yeah, that's not good and you got to shake it up.
And if you're Thibideau, I think now's the time, right
like your season is on the line. You don't have
the opportunity, you don't have the luxury not to win this.
You're not coming back from O two after losing the
first two at home. It's hard enough. But if you
go down O three and you're still on the road,
you may not even get back home. You may actually
get swept in that situation. So I could see Thibodeau

(39:18):
kind of playing around with this. I think that's what
a good coach needs to do. Adjustments clearly need to
be made here, just beas.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Needs to be made. The Knicks down oh two. Of course,
game three on Sunday night in Indianapolis. Course, busy day
and Indy they got the Indy five hundred before Game three.
We'll discuss Game three later out of the show. But
we got to get to the other basketball league of note,
the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Oh my goodness, what a week we're discussing it all. Next.
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
Well, come in everybody, hour two tours and Martin Fox
Sports Radio. We are broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
It is MI night Eastern.

Speaker 2 (40:01):
Hope everybody is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend. If you're
at work, if you're driving around, we hope we're keeping
you entertained by the way, Jamon, I always like to
do this for the audience that's on Twitter. Go ahead
tweet us at Aaron Underscore Tours at Jmart Radio. Always
curious where people are listening, how they're listening.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
Are you at work? You know, listen? I know I
speak for you as well, Jmart.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
You know some people, don't you know, they have jobs
that maybe they don't enjoy as much as we enjoy ours.
So you know, we're always privileged to be on these
airwaves on a holiday weekend.

Speaker 3 (40:35):
We know a lot of you are doing.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
All sorts of crazy things, and so make sure to
tweet us at Aaron Underscore Tours at Jmart Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
How are you listening? Where are you listening? Are you
at work? Are you with family?

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Let us know, but we are taking it till two
am Eastern here on a now Sunday on the.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
East Coast Memorial Day.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
Weekend, Jamar, before we get into like a actually a
pretty dark conversation about WNBA, you got any fun plans
for the holiday weekend? I know you said you were
watching some racing today, obviously the Indianapolis five hundred. Are
you having any family over you doing any barbecuing anything
like that.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
No, I mean I grilled a week ago. I don't think.
I don't think we have anything major plan. The wife
is going to be off work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, so
we'll have some time as a family, which is gonna
be good. I preached in the morning, so obviously it's
been an early morning for me. But then, yeah, I mean,
I don't think there's anything too massive. I saw Mission
Impossible last night. That might wasn't the one thing I

(41:32):
would have done. It was what you were thinking it
would be. I mean, it felt like the finalite of
the series is definitely kind of paid off a lot
of things and called back stuff all the way to
ninety six and stuff like that. It's a franchise that
I've adored and I've covered for many years and written
about in the past. I think that it peaked at six.
I think that Fallout was the best, and then you

(41:54):
can probably go with Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation four
and five and whatever order you want. There are probably
the top three. These last two, which were two part
I think they were pretty good. That the finish, I
think they tried to pull off an awful lot and
it is long it's just barely under three hours long. Wow,
and it is just loaded up and there's just a

(42:16):
it can kind of it gets a little convoluted and
a little ridiculous at points. I still enjoyed my time
with it, and I think that, you know, overall, it's
been a it's been an awesome series for such a
long time, as long as you can shut your brain down.
But there's there's some weaknesses to it. Not as big
a fan of the villain being Ai over the last
two films and things like that. But look, man, Tom Cruise,

(42:38):
and Tom Cruise is finally starting to look old. Like
I'm not saying that he looks his age, but he's
finally starting to look like, Okay, yeah he's older. And
they show shots. They showed a lot of flashbacks without
any kind of spoilers. They showed a lot of flashbacks
to like earlier films in the series, which is why
it really does feel like they're finishing it up, and
like they show stuff from the first mission Impossible, and

(42:59):
you realize it's like, oh, yeah, this dude looked way different,
like he definitely has age. It's harder to see unless
you kind of see it. Back to back, but this
is the first time, like you look in the face
and you're like, oh yeah, definitely money has been put
into this, into this face. And at the same time,
like eventually Father Tom is coming for us. All yeah,

(43:21):
Mission Impossible.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
The original debuting May twenty second, nineteen ninety six. This
one coming out May twenty third, twenty twenty five. So
not great at math. That sounds about twenty nine years
in a day.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
Apark Yep, all right, jmart I hope you had a go. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (43:38):
I was gonna say, I hope you had a good
viewing experience at the movies yesterday, because something that just
is not a fun experience, I think at this point,
I don't think it's a fun experience for anybody, whether
you love it, whether you hate it, whether you whatever.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
That's the WNBA.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
It was funny because we were actually ahead of just
the take avalanche that happened this week. If if people
go back and listen to the podcast last week, we
were obviously coming on last Saturday, the day of the
season debut. Caitlyn Clark, Caitlyn Clark, Angel Reeves, Chicago Sky,

(44:15):
Indiana Fever and there was a flagrant.

Speaker 3 (44:19):
Foul at one point in the game.

Speaker 2 (44:21):
And I asked you, I said, j mart I said, listen,
I don't have the energy to make this into something.
It feels like absolutely nothing to me. Well, fast forward,
and by the way, we also referenced like, but I
guarantee all the big talk shows come Monday, they're gonna
have plenty.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
There.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
We didn't say not that they're gonna have plenty, to
say that they're going to make this into something that
it isn't.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
Well, fast forward.

Speaker 2 (44:47):
We had let's see here, we had obviously, you know,
all sorts of let's just be honest, you know, racial
undertones about Kitlyn Clark and Angel Reese. We had the
RG three versus Ryan Clark thing, which dragged on. We
also had this, you know, don't let this get lost
in the shuffle. We had a report of racist taunts

(45:11):
in the Indiana Fever arena that the Chicago Sky later
confirmed they never heard. The WNBA still decided to release
a statement condoning racism, even though no one on the
Chicago Sky heard anything to do with racism in the arena.
So basically, there was a rumor on the internet that

(45:31):
the WNBA with ran as fact.

Speaker 3 (45:35):
I could go on and on by the way, and then.

Speaker 2 (45:37):
After that, you know, there's the whole oh you know,
you guys are manufacturing this, and then Angel Reese, of
course she's sharing TikTok clips.

Speaker 3 (45:44):
Saying, you know, go get Caitlin Clark.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
It was I think the worst version of WNBA coverage.
I'll just say it, and I don't I don't want
to take away from your take. I just think the
league is just a flat out embarrassment. They I'll just
shut up. I'm talking too much. I think the league
is nothing short of a flat out embarrassment. And I'll
let you kind of take this wherever you'd like.

Speaker 3 (46:09):
So there's a lot to get to and luckily we
have plenty of time. Nothing that you just said is wrong.
It's not a league, it's Jerry Springer. It's not a leege.

Speaker 2 (46:21):
But at least Jerry Springer knew it was staged like
this is just it's Jerry's Springer without the irony.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
You know what I'm saying, Yes, I mean that that
is true. I mean I knew some people that were
booked on jerry Spro back in my pro wrestling days. Well, no,
I mean, like pro wrestling, pro wrestlers are booked for
reality TV all the time because they know how to
fake it. And when you you know Springer a lot
of stuff like yes, some of the things that he
would do, he would pay guys to come in and

(46:48):
or pay people to come in and just air out
the most disgusting stuff that was actually happening, but some
of the time it wasn't legit, and like, I think that,
so I tried to defend in the week. I tried
to defend the idea that the WNBA was not stoking
a racial conflict but was instead profiting off of one

(47:13):
or just kind of staying hands off a little bit
with one that already existed. And I was trying to
act like, look, it really isn't a racial thing, where
like Angel Reese and Caitlyn Clark, remember last year I
talked about how Angel Reese was drifting off of Kaitlyn
Clark like they were race cars. No doubt that Angel
Reese knew what she was doing and that she was

(47:35):
actually savvier, and that the pro wrestler, like Gene and
me said, they probably they're working off each other because
they're both kind of generating stuff. And Angel Reese's name
is a lot bigger now because of what she did
and all this other stuff. But as more time has passed,

(47:56):
and as you go back and you watch this and
even dating back to like pointing at her, ring at
her fingers back in the Iowa LSU days and all
of these things. No, actually, there's more. There's more than
just a little bit going on here, and the league
is more at fault than I wanted to admit. Like
I just wanted to think that they were just kind

(48:19):
of going to let this play out, but that they
weren't like booking this thing almost like you're booking a
wrestling territory so that you can make the most money.
But so because the most marketable matchup that you can
have in the WNBA in history of women's basketball is
going to be Caitlin Clark versus Angel Rees, so that
becomes your day one game and all this. And the

(48:40):
argument was, well, you did that to stoke racial conflict,
and I said, no, you did it because there are
arch rivals and all this other stuff, the race thing notwithstanding,
it's just the vitriol between these two. But here's the problem,
and this is what I think has been revealed during
the course of this week. More so than ever before.

(49:00):
There is a racial conflict here, and it is Angel
Reese who has some serious She's got some serious issues
when it comes to this and the way that she
feels about Caitlin Clark that are not related just to basketball,
not just related to jealousy and envy, all of those

(49:21):
things are they're basically like kindling on this fire that
because this other thing is true of Caitlyn Clark, all
the rest of it becomes worse. And I think that
the biggest thing that we have seen this week is
that there are a whole lot of other people that
feel similarly to Angel Reese, both in the media and
in the WNBA itself, and that's just a shame. Like

(49:45):
that's when this has jumped the shark from being a
pretty good rivalry that you can do something with if
you're the WNBA, to something that if you have any
dignity or self respect whatsoever, if you're the WNBA, shut
this down because you don't want to exist solely for this.
And now if you stay silent and you continue to

(50:08):
let this kind of thing go on, and you let
other things that we can talk about with Grinder and
Cheryl Swoops and all this other kind of stuff that's
come through continue, then not only are you aiding in
a betting, but you're in effect facilitating. You're in effect
making sure that this is a thing. And I will
call a little bit later, but I'll just do it

(50:30):
right now. I'm done. Like I did not think that
this whole deal was gonna last anyway. They had lightning
in a bottle with Caitlin Clark, but what else are
you gonna get? I was excited to see what Page
Beckers could do because I enjoyed watching her at Connecticut
as well, and you know, Juju Watkins in the future
hopefully coming back from the injury and things like that,

(50:50):
Like you have some other players in this league. But
the WNBA decided that if it was gonna be Caitlin
Clark that made them all stars and made them all money,
they were just not gonna allow that. They have made
this so toxic, so gross, that I'm gonna go back

(51:12):
to doing what I've done my entire life up until
Caitlin Clark started playing basketball, not giving a crap about
the WNBA. I am boycotting this league. I'm not watching
her either. Like, if they want to sell this, they
could sell it to somebody else. The racial grift has
to stop in this country, and it definitely has to

(51:32):
stop in sports and the WNBA. I didn't need it before,
I don't need it now. Caitlin Clark's already made some
money and she's still gonna be marketable whether or not
she's playing in the WNBA or somewhere else. So I'll
quietly follow a box score if I care, but you
will not catch me tune in to a WNBA game again,
because that's what they begged me to do. They have

(51:53):
asked me, Aaron, repeatedly, don't watch our league because of X,
Y and Z. They we have stuck it in our
face so many times at this point that they're gonna
get what they wanted, which is the game's not that
good anyway. I don't need to watch this. I'm not
gonna watch this.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
By the way, speaking of the game not being very good,
I'm in Vegas this weekend just with some family. I
was in a sportsbook this afternoon. There was nothing else
on other than Fever and Liberty. It was a tough watch,
and you know, it really is, and it's like, you know,
and this is supposed to be the defending ship whatever.

Speaker 3 (52:27):
A lot to peel back from what you said.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
I think my biggest takeaway is something that I know
that I talked about last year, and it's something that
you just hit on.

Speaker 3 (52:35):
Is that, listen, the racial stuff is gross.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
I think that essentially it is amazing to me and
maybe it's something we get. We discussed on the other
side of the break, how they essentially cannot market anything
when there is not you know, there's not a racial
component to it. Like, it's funny you mentioned Page Beckers,
obviously me being a Yukon guy. My mom's a Yukon
of l She literally asked me today, She's like, how

(53:01):
come I feel like I haven't heard anything about Page
since she got into the league. And I was like,
there is no story when somebody isn't trying to fight
katele Clark.

Speaker 3 (53:08):
It's just a fact.

Speaker 2 (53:10):
And the thing that stands out to me is exactly
what you said, and I remember saying it last year.
Is that to me, if players want to hate her,
it sucks, but it is what it is. The embarrassing
thing to me is the WNBA's leadership and their inability
to to wrangle this, to get it under control or

(53:33):
even to acknowledge it's a problem. And I remember saying
this last year is players want to hate her.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
Okay, I don't like it. I think it's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (53:41):
I don't think it makes sense that this is a
situation where, you know, where she's obviously making them all
money and they want to complain. But the league does
have like a responsibility to protect her, and it didn't
feel like they were doing it last year. And I
only bring it up to solely say that when you
look at this year, when you look at this moment

(54:01):
in time, it is wild to me that they had
an all like if it even the most glasses half
full want to defend the WNBA would say, well, you know,
Kaitlyn Clark came in right out of Iowa, nobody could
have seen how big it was. Blah blah blah, this
and that, and so fast forward to this year and
the idea that they dealt with this for a year.

(54:24):
The the entire last year was basically just the worst
form of toxicity. And there was you know, there were
positives because of TV ratings increases, but there was a
lot of negativity to and they had a whole offseason
to figure out how to put their arms around this,
how to embrace Kaitlyn Clark what she's done and just

(54:44):
deal with the discourse that comes around it. And literally
in one week, it just complete one week, forget one week.
One game completely went off the rails to the point that,
you know, we had the situation that we had in
the game, but then again all the stuff that follows it.
I understand, you can't control what the media is saying,
but what you can control is not sprinting to condone

(55:05):
a racist activity that no one can confirm even happened.
And then the counterpoint to that is, oh, by the way,
there were probably two or three racist things that did
happen that you've chosen to ignore, and you mentioned it.

Speaker 3 (55:16):
You know, there's Britain.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
There's video of Britney Griner where pretty clear, you know,
people are trying to now say that she didn't say
what she what what we think she said, but basically
there is an insinuation of f that whight be.

Speaker 4 (55:31):
You know.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
You know, by the way, Brittany Grinder was caught on
camera f cursing out the refs today and during a
sideline interview. So that was a lovely addendum to that.
So you know, I guess I've gone along again. I'll
toss it back to you. But it is amazing to
me that with a full off season to kind of
wrap your arms around it, see how big things had gotten.
We're back to the same playbook that led to so

(55:54):
much toxicity last year, where again you're condoning or you're
you're shouting down actions that we cannot confirm happened, while
completely ignoring other actions that we do know did happen.

Speaker 3 (56:05):
Yep, that's exactly right. Let's take a break, though, because
just because I looked at the clock, but we'll come back.
We've got plenty more on this topic. I also think
that we need to call out Adam Silver. Sure if
the WNBA only exists because the NBA permits it to,
then Adam Silver needs to show us spine for the
first time in his life and actually say, hey, this
needs to stop, like behind closed doors, say we're not

(56:25):
going to be known for this, Like we're going to
be known for the product. We're not going to be
known for this side show. We're not going to be
known for the tabloid. We're not going to be the
National inquir We're not going to be this we're going
to be better than this, or we're not going to
exist at all. If they exist solely because the NBA
permits it, then Adam Silver should have some kind of power.
If the WNBA brass wants to sit on their hands,

(56:46):
then Adam Silver needs to show a spine. And I know,
you know, he has that look of kind of an extraterrestrial.
Maybe he doesn't have the same kind of vertebra that
other humans do. And based on some of the things
that he's done in this last handful of years, I
wouldn't put it past him to not have a spine.
But somebody needs to show up behind closed doors and
say this ain't okay. This is going to end badly.

(57:09):
Like that game that comes up on what is it,
June seventh or whatever the next time that the Sky
play the Fever, another game I'm not gonna watch. I'm
gonna stick to exactly what I said earlier in this segment.
You think something's not gonna happen, you're out of your mind.
You got Angel Reese like on the sidelines clapping after
Caitlin Clark is getting fouled multiple times last season. In

(57:32):
this season, like this is going to get worse, and
something really bad is going to happen here, and it's
being stoked by everybody. Seemingly somebody needs to look out
for the betterment of the league, at least show that
there's some kind of respect still to be had in sports.
We'll take a break, we'll come back. There's a lot
to get to here. Surprisingly enough, this has been the
story of the week in the middle of the NBA playoffs.

Speaker 2 (57:54):
Well, it is the story of the week in the
middle of the NBA playoffs, and it sounds like there
is a lot of meat on the bone Adam Silver.

Speaker 3 (58:00):
What responsibility does he have? We'll discuss next. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (58:05):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Underscore Tours at Jmartradio. Douglas Coleburn says, out here in

(58:42):
southern Vermont throwing Sunday New York Times, listening to Fox
Sports Radio on XM Radio.

Speaker 3 (58:47):
Love the show.

Speaker 2 (58:48):
So Douglas is out delivering newspapers. We appreciate you, Douglas.
Harry James Taylor says, listening as I tune in from
an epic Saturday watching Oklahoma softball as we sweat Bama,
and then he went on to talk about the thunder game,
which we probably won't be talking about very much the
rest of the show. So Fox Sports Radio and our

(59:09):
tours Jason Mart, if you want to tell us where
you are Aaron Underscore Tours on Twitter at Jmart Radio.
Should mention, by the way, you can now stream the
show and all of our Fox Sports shows live twenty
four to seven Sports in the new and improved iHeartRadio app.
You can always stream it, but it's new and improved.
Check it out. Also, all you gotta do is search

just like the presets on a radio dial. So be
sure to preset Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app
and it will always pop up at the top of
your screen. We'll continue the conversation on the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
What a disaster.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
We'll do that in just a moment, but let's first
toss it over the news desk Steve the Seger, What
is trending here.

Speaker 3 (59:57):
At twelve twenty eight Eastern time?

Speaker 5 (59:59):
Get to the two late ballgames. But you just mentioned
with the listener mentions one Vermont to Oklahoma softball, which
brings us to the Sunday Night Show in this time
slot where we will have Arnee Spanier and Chris Plank
because you see Oklahoma's not playing tomorrow. They have advanced
to the College World Series for the ninth straight time,

(01:00:22):
Texas and Oregon each advance. UCLA somehow stayed alive, scoring
four runs in the bottom of the seventh today, including
a walk off homer at South Carolina. And you mentioned
the WNBA. There are only two games today, New York
three and oh after winning it Indiana ninety to eighty eight,
Caitlin Clark in the loss eighteen points ten assists and
ten turnovers from three point range. She was two of eleven.

(01:00:46):
Dallas iszho to four after losing eighty three seventy five
to Atlanta. Now to the two late ballgames, the Phillies
have won eight in a row. They are tied five
to five at the A's in the top of the
eighth inning. In the seventh, Bryce Harper even the game
with an RBI single. Phillies only had five hits, but
they do have five runs and the Angels have an
eight game winning streak on the line. They're trailing at

(01:01:08):
home six' one to the Marlins in the bottom of
the seventh inning. Yankees won thirteen to one at Colorado
Aaron Judge's eighteenth homer. By the way, Kyle Schwarber the Phills,
hit his eighteenth. Tonight, Mets beat the Dodgers five to two.
Baltimore and Boston split a doubleheader in the NBA's Western
Conference Finals, Game three at Minnesota to the Timberwolves all

(01:01:29):
over Oklahoma City one forty three to one oh one.
And this is a thunder team that regular season went
sixty eight and fourteen. They were down twenty after the
first quarter tonight. In fact, the Minnesota lead late second
quarter with seventy two to thirty eight. Anthony Edwards finished
with thirty points in thirty minutes. Julius Randall twenty four points.

(01:01:50):
Oklahoma City leads this series two games to one. We
had NHL Game three in the East Final. Florida has
won all three Panthers over Carolina tonight six to two,
and the Hurricanes at bench their starting goalie Frederick Anderson
before the game. The contest was tied one to one
going to the third, and then Florida scored five unanswered
goals in about ten minutes. As we mentioned earlier in

(01:02:11):
the show, Carolina's franchise in the conference final round over
the last nearly twenty years is zero to fifteen. A reminder,
Fox TV will have the Indy five hundred on Sunday.
Fox has all the IndyCar races this year, including the
one on the Streets of Detroit the next weekend after
the five hundred. Robert Schwartzman earned the poll for tomorrow,
the first Indy five hundred rookie since nineteen eighty three

(01:02:33):
to win the poll. He is from Israel. Novak Djokovic
won his one hundredth career tournament title that Geneva opened.
Tennis's French Open starts Sunday. Carlos Alcarez took the Italian Open,
tune up last week and sweeping the number one player
Yanick Center of Italy, beating him four straight times now
over the last year.

Speaker 3 (01:02:50):
Back to you, Thank you very much, Steve de Seger.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
This is Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Saturday into Sunday
ERATORUS Jason Martin broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
We told you tweet in.

Speaker 2 (01:03:04):
Let us know where you're listening, how you're listening here
on a holiday weekend. Try to make it make sense
already tweets great takest on the dumpster fire. That is
the W the NBA, but I assume that he means
w NBA. He said from mid coast Maine. Maine is
beautiful this time of year. I'll say that, sona, We're
gonna jump in jmar No. I was hearing about butte Maine, no,

(01:03:28):
mid coast. Further than this is always good. We got
somebody from Vermont, somebody from Maine.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
So yes, we we appreciate your fire against Arny Spaniard.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Yes, well, Maine is lovely this time of year. But
he mentioned great takes on the dumpster fire that is
the NBA. I think he meant w NBA. So let's
dive in. You know, j Mart, you know you really
were fired up before the break, before we got to
the seger about the idea. So I for you know,
we have a new audience every couple of minutes, but
for people who are just joining us, we were talking

(01:03:58):
about the disaster that is the WNBA. They can only
create headlines when there is racial tension in that league.
I think it's impossible. Listen, I'll just say this, and
I want to get to the Adams Silver Park. I
think it's impossible to deny that they can only create
headlines when there is racial tension. And you know, I
know that it's because today, literally the biggest star in

(01:04:20):
the league, Caitlin Clark, was playing the defending champion, New
York Liberty, and no one cared, No one knew anything
about it. Now, maybe in the final minute, literally in
the final seconds, there was a controversial non foul call,
but this wasn't like hyped. People weren't excited, and so
again it just feels like a league that again cannot
create interest if there is not racial tension. And before

(01:04:44):
the break, you were mentioning Jmart that you think there
is someone that should be held accountable or needs to
start holding people accountable. So I want to give you
the floor to expand on that.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
Yeah. So I don't know that he needs to be
held accountable, but I think that he has some power here.
I think he had some lever. And if the league
wants to stay quiet, this being the WNBA, then Adam
Silver needs to step up and say this is a
bad look for basketball in general. You know, basically, you
don't exist without the NBA. You need to rain this in,
you need to stop this. I gave you a stat

(01:05:16):
in a text message that I had heard in the
last couple of days, seventeen percent of the flagrant fouls
called last season in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark was a
victim seventeen percent. Crazy. Well, it's funny. I saw that.
I was like, man, I'm surprised I wouldn't hire It
was like one fifth, basically, just short of one fifth
of all the flagrant calls in the WNBA were fouls

(01:05:38):
where somebody was brutalizing Kaitlin Clark. And of course we're
talking about this borderline. Yeah, it was a hard foul,
but I think it was a hard foul that was
in retaliation from Angel Reese pushing her teammate there being
a no call on the play and her not want
to give up a layup, and I think I think that, Yeah,

(01:05:59):
if if the WNBA is going to do nothing, if
they're just going to sit on their hands, then this
is where Adam Silver needs to be the adult in
the room for them. If they don't want to do this,
if they if they're and I don't know if you're
complicit in it, if you're the WNBA, or if you
have some kind of if you're kind of on the
side of some of these players and you're just you're

(01:06:20):
cool watching this happen in front of you, whatever it is,
something needs to change here, because it's not even that
it's a bad look. This is just this is bottom
of the c level discourse that you end up with
because of what you're allowing to happen in this league.
There's no reason for this, and this is one of
the reasons, by the way erin that last year or

(01:06:43):
during the off season, many people, including us, were frustrated
with what Caitlin Clark was saying when she would win
like the Time Athlete of the Year award and things
like this, It's like she was sort of bowing as
she was doing it, apologizing for all of these things,
and kind to build up everybody else in the league
in the moments, like I know what you're doing, but

(01:07:03):
I hate to tell you it's not gonna be enough.
They hate you, they despise you. It's gross, it's completely ridiculous,
but it's also very transparently accurate, like you're not gonna
be able to bend the knee far enough and you're
gonna have to keep on doing it, and now that
they've seen you do it once, they're going to force
you to do it over and over and over and

(01:07:24):
over again, and they're still gonna hate your guts. And
I think the biggest problem with all this is like
you could see it coming, and it's come from so
many different places, like yes, Angel Reese, but we saw
this all last year with other players. We also saw
Don Staley say something about the Iowa team in the
Final four a couple of years ago. Cheryl swoops like

(01:07:45):
can't stop saying bad stuff about Caitlin Clark, and that
was dating back to the Iowa days. You've heard this
from like every corner and no one has done anything
about it, which tells me you all agree with it.
Like if like, if that's the consensus in the league.
I got to say, that's just unacceptable. It's a league

(01:08:07):
that I want to see fail. It's a league that
I want to watch burn itself to the ground at
this point because they have decided that they want to
go for the lowest common denominator as opposed to trying
to build their own product, which then tells me that
your product must suck, your product must stink raw, because
if it was good at all, you would try to

(01:08:28):
mitigate this and go somewhere else. When you've got these
kinds of conflicts and things like that happening, you try
to kind of bring down the temperature. And it seems
like the WNBA is interested in doing the exact opposite,
and unfortunately for them, it is one of the best
players in the league against a much less skilled version

(01:08:48):
of Ben Wallace without the tact in Angel Reese, and
that's a problem, and without the self awareness.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
Of who she is, because yeah, Ben Wallace at least
knew what his role is was and played it well. Yeah, listen,
I don't disagree with anything you said, and I do
and listen, and I'll say this too, And I don't
know what if people are perceiving what you said as
a crazy take, I don't think it's a crazy take
at all to say that Adam Silver absolutely has the

(01:09:18):
authority to step in and basically say, listen, if you
guys can't control your league and the discourse around it,
then I'm gonna step in and do something as well. Obviously,
I think everybody listening understands that the WNBA is owned
by the NBA. It obviously runs itself, but it is
also financially subsidized by the NBA and has been since

(01:09:39):
the day it started. And so you know, I certainly
think Adam Silver's got his own issues to deal with.
But I also think, listen, I think, like you said,
I think it is a black eye on the entire
sport of basketball. And you know, we can criticize the
NBA for a lot. There's a lot of things that
need to be improved on the court, off the court,

(01:09:59):
load management, whatever, but at least at the end of
the day, we're still talking about the games as they
happen right like like like we're we came on and
we opened the show talking Minnesota OKC Game three, and
I understand that not every WNBA game is going to
be covered in the same manner, but like I said

(01:10:19):
to to lead the segment, it just it doesn't feel.
I can't remember the last time someone discussed something series,
you know, about a game that was based on the
result in the game. It just it doesn't happen, or
it certainly doesn't cut through and again, and I think
you can sit there and say, well, just nobody's gonna talk,
but it's like there are storylines. As I said to

(01:10:41):
lead the segment, or maybe it was the last segment,
I can't remember. Dallas Wings have Page Beckers, having heard
a peep out of her Earlier on Saturday, we had
a matchup of Caitlin Clark and the you know, most
marketable team in the league versus the defending champ. It
was Crickets in the lead up to that game, and
so I just bring it up because it's just it's

(01:11:02):
such a crap show. And I don't think it's crazy
for what you said of Adam Silver as someone who
is quite literally subsidizing this league and has been for
twenty five plus years to step in and say, listen,
we need we can't be having a national race discourse
every single time that every single time that you guys

(01:11:23):
take the court. You guys got to be better. You
guys got to figure it out. I don't disagree with
you at all.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Yeah, I mean, I just this is what you're trying
to get away from. Is this kind of crap? Like
that's why you watch sports. You want to escape into it.
You want to watch these guys and these gallons doing
things at the highest level. If you're a fan of
whatever the sport is, you don't need this. Like sometimes
some of these things are gonna bubble up. But this
is one of the problems I had, and I don't
want to get into it because we actually agreed, we

(01:11:51):
just didn't have enough, Like we just didn't have enough
interest in going down this road because it was so
easy a couple of weeks ago. But this one didn't.
Like what Jerymond Green said when he had his take
a few weeks ago about the race issue and all this,
It's like, dude, I know what you're doing. Just don't
feed into this beast, please and I'm gonna say something
else real quick about Dreymond Green. I wish you would

(01:12:12):
stop playing, because I actually think he's okay on TV.
I'm actually entertained by like how he breaks down the
game and how he talks about the game. I don't
want to see him play, and I can't stand just
the way in which he kind of holier than Dows
himself and tries to play the victim at the same
time that he is also the perpetrator left and right.

(01:12:34):
But there's a lot of angel rees in that as well.
But if the WNBA, I feel like they have done
nothing over this past year year and a half but
beg normal human beings not to watch their league, and
because we're already kind of geared not to watch that league,
that's not a hard sell. Man. It's really not like

(01:12:54):
I can do plenty of other stuff. Man, I can
build more. It gives me more tower time than I
and build towers with my kids. That gives me more
time to read, It gives me time to play games,
It gives me time to do anything else than watch
that league. So if they don't want me to watch
and they want to continually do this this way and
say things that they are saying, and behave in the

(01:13:15):
manner in which they are behaving. Then I'm cool, man,
Like I got plenty of other stuff on the schedule.
I got a backlog of things that I've wanted to
watch for a long time, so I don't even need
to check the box scores. Man. Good luck to Caitlin
Clark and good luck to the rest of the league.

Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
But I'm done it and nothing else that it's it's
sad what the league is because and by the way,
it's sad how predictable it is. Where As you and
I said at right around this time last week, we
saw the foul and we knew the discourse coming even
before it happened. Fox Sports Radio Aaron Torres and Jason Martin,

(01:13:49):

Speaker 3 (01:14:39):
Hello once again.

Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
In the Philadelphia Phillies have an eight game winning streak
on the line. They have just fallen behind in Sacramento
against the A's.

Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
It is still weird to hear.

Speaker 5 (01:14:48):
It's correct to get used to it. It's at least
three years there in West Sacramento Athletics six' five over
The phillies bottom of the eighth because The A'S Dh Brent.
Rooker it's a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth.
Inning so not done, yet but The phillies are trailing.
Late The a's are trying to end a ten game losing.
Streak they've just ended the eighth inning going to the

(01:15:10):
ninth six' five for the.

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Home team by the way, TO say i don't mean,
to interrupt but you mentioned at least three years For
the SACRAMENTO as i Am in vegas right NOW and
i literally was driving around asking my mom the other
day where are they putting the? Baseball stadium and unless
something has changed in the last seventy, TWO hours i
don't believe they actually have a site yet for the.

(01:15:32):
BASEBALL stadium i think they know where they, want it
but it's not one hundred.

Speaker 5 (01:15:36):
Percent right they have torn Down the tropicana ACROSS, from
mgm and it's not far From The. Hockey, arena yes
and they are due to put a smaller sized apparently
with a Roof In Las Vegas baseball. Stadium THERE but
i do know that we walked Through the tropicana before
it was, TORN down i think. Last summer so as

(01:15:56):
far as, LAND space i think that has been.

Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
The, plan, yes well you are CORRECT that i think
they have the. PROPOSE site i don't believe it's one hundred.
PERCENT finalized i. DON'T believe i certainly know for a
fact they haven't broken GROUND unless i totally.

Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
Miss something but The point i'm trying to make. Is,
that yeah it's kind of a.

Speaker 2 (01:16:14):
Crap show but you mentioned at least three Years, in
sacramento and they got to get to work.

Speaker 3 (01:16:19):
If they want to make sure it's only.

Speaker 5 (01:16:20):
Three years and keep, in mind it's not just not Playing.
In oakland they are Sharing A triple a stadium for,
three years which means this one field is not getting
eighty home games, or so it's more like one hundred
and sixty. Home games, so, that yes they have redone
the field and the drainage under it and all, of
that so maybe it'll, work Out, but okay it's about ten,

(01:16:40):
thousand seats and you don't know if the ball is
just going to keep flying out once we get. To
Summer and i'm staying tuned for, all that, of course
because the Hurricane in florida. Also recently keep in Mind
The Tampa bay rays are not playing in. Their dome
they're at a spring training stadium with about ten thousand
seats for this. Entire season and the other game that's
going on As. At Anaheim the angels have won eight in,

(01:17:02):
a row but they are trailing with one out bottom
of the ninth six two To. The Marlins the mets
Beat the Dodgers ON fox tv tonight five. To Two
the mets have thirty one wins thirty one and. Twenty
one dodgers have thirty. Two Victories the mets with a
very good home record this year eighteen. And Six one
soto a two, run double so he's batting averages over two.

(01:17:22):
Forty Now david peterson the winning pitcher seven and, two thirds,
Seven Strikeouts kjehoho tani. Three Times tony gonsolin went five
innings took.

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
The loss For.

Speaker 5 (01:17:31):
The dodgers and the other Game on fox for part of,
The country cleveland and ten innings Won at detroit seven.
To five guardians having a. Good weekend tiger's home record
now seventeen. And Eight Cleveland's jose ramirez now has a
seventeen game. Hitting streak WELL in, nba history it has,
happened before but, not often that THE reigning mvp gets

(01:17:51):
blown out. Like, This Tonight oklahoma city was Ripped at
minnesota one forty three to one. Oh One Shay gilgis
alexander and come in a losing by forty. Two, points
Actually stat seeing points out that the only three times
in history now that this has ever happened IN the
nba where THAT SEASON'S na mvp lost this BADLY and

(01:18:14):
i mean three times only playoffs or. Regular season all
three have come at the hands Of a minnesota team in.
The POSTSEASON tonight Sga. And minnesota, Last Year nikola jokic
lost by forty five in a game To, the timberwolves
and in nineteen, FIFTY Six Mvp bob pettitt lost a
game by fifty eight To The. Minneapolis lakers timberwolves were

(01:18:36):
up twenty after the, first quarter their largest lead ever
after a. First period it got so bad at. The
half they were down. Thirty one the thunder were at,
the half and some people, still think, my goodness with
the other teams that have, been out this is the
champion that we're going to be.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
Looking at in a. Few.

Speaker 5 (01:18:53):
Weeks, right so so the, question was has there ever
BEEN an nba champion that was badly beaten like this
at halftime of their? Playoff run the answer Is The
memorial day massacre of the nineteen Eighty. Five lakers they
were down thirty at and Half at boston got killed in,
that game but did win the finals. In, Six Today

(01:19:14):
oklahoma city was down, thirty one still has a chance for,
the title still has a chance to win, this series
up two games. To one.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
The saga we, appreciate you, my man thank you for
all of the updates across the world. Of sports It
was it is A Busy memorial. Day weekend so we're gonna.
Come back we Will revisit game Three. In, Minnesota. Minnesota
okase we'll look Ahead to game Three. On sunday and
we got more to talk about college. Football Playoff, aaron

(01:19:43):
rodgers a lot. To discuss one, Hour Left, Aaron Torris
jason martin taking until Two. Am eastern This Is.

Speaker 3 (01:19:50):
Fox sports are you.

Speaker 1 (01:19:53):
You're Listening To Fox Sports.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
Radio radio, Welcome Man Fox, Sports Radio Fox. Sports saturday
glad to have you. With us, third hour final hour of.
The program plenty to get to talk. Some football we
haven't talked a lot, of football. Maybe none as a matter,
of fact in the first two hours of, this show
spent a lot of time ON a wnba an hour

(01:20:15):
two maybe the last time we ever talked, about It
because i'm done and plenty ON, the nba and hour
one we're about to hit that. Here again we are
live In The Fox sports, radio Studios timber wolves one
forty three to one oh one victors Over The Oklahoma.

(01:20:37):
CITY thunder i said this off the start of, the
program and airon torres were efforting to try and. Get
back he's he's on, location tonight so we've had a few.
Tech issues. All GOOD so i did not understand after
game two why it became trendy to then say That

(01:20:58):
The thunder we're gonna sweep The. Two wolves I'm a,
thunder FAN and i didn't understand it because EVEN though
i agree That the thunder are the, better team all
they had done to that point was what you were
expected to do when you have home. Court advantage men,

(01:21:19):
at home they won two games. At home what's the?
Old adage where did? That go the old adage of
the series doesn't start until the home, team loses Unfortunate for.
Knicks fans but in, this Case the thunder won. At
home their role players, showed up because that's what role
players do. At home then they go on the road and.
It reverses that's why it's hard to win on. THE road,

(01:21:39):
i mean obviously you have a, hostile environment but your
guys that aren't, your superstars your superstars have to show,
up everywhere but it's those other guys that usually show
up at home. For you they're. More familiar they are
just more comfortable in at building when they're shooting. The
ball everything's just it just. Feels better and then you
go on the road and it just it's it's a

(01:22:01):
different such that the temperature is different in the building
and locker room and. Everything else whatever. It is the
role players and role players for. A reason they do
survey role they do survey. A purpose but you can't
count on them the way that you can count. On
superstars So The minnesota timberwolves were awful from distance in
the first, two games and then they come home and

(01:22:21):
they shot fifty percent in, game three they were twenty
of forty, from three and they were almost sixty percent from.
THE field i think there were fifty seven point eight
percent from the field where the te wolves and they
shot them all awful in both the first. Two games
they were a little better in, game two but just
they got home and they got. More comfortable randall, Got
hot edwards. Got hot but they had, seven dudes four

(01:22:45):
of them from, the bench that were in double figures in.
This game and they were also playing for, their season
but it became, very popular seemingly to say that The
t wolves were gonna, get SWEPT and i mean by
people that make a ton of money in this industry,
in media, we're, saying yeah The t wolves are going
to get swept By. THE thunder i didn't. BELIEVE that

(01:23:06):
i thought it was gonna be a six game series to.
Begin with, And yeah i'm picking, my GUYS but i
got more respect for The t wolves. Than that this
is a team is In The Western conference finals a.
Year ago they've got a lot, of talent and eventually
they're gonna make. Some shots it's not gonna be a
complete cakewalk no matter. What happens So this game three

(01:23:29):
played out almost EXACTLY like i thought. It would maybe
not to this degree when it comes to a forty two,
point win but one of the things was a thirty
point game at. The half almost are pretty close. TO it,
i Mean, shake Gill. Just alexander when we played twenty
eight minutes in, THE game i don't think anybody For
the thunder played more than more. Than that, so yeah
THIS was, i mean it was, a beatdown but they
were also able To not i'd rather lose like this

(01:23:52):
than lose by two and have, to play, you know
my starter's forty forty two minutes of the game fighting to.
Lose again, knicks fans that's an unfortunate reality that you
live in at this point because your guys have had
to play a ton of minutes to get beat twice.
At home that's a that's a tough ass to then
go on, the road. Probably exhausted because so this is

(01:24:15):
a pro, wrestling analogy AN industry i have worked in,
for many many years in. Different capacities but the bumps
always hurt in a, silent arena like when you were rolling,
on adrenaline the bumps just don't hurt quite. As bad
they might hurt the, next day but those falls when
you're in a building and the crouds just not into what,

(01:24:36):
you're doing but you're still doing the. Same stuff you're
still coming off the, top rope you're still taking that
drop kick and taking that, back bump whatever. It is
when you can hear a pin drop in, the building
everything hurts a whole. Lot worse and so if You're,
the knicks you have essentially put yourself in that spot

(01:24:57):
because you've. Given it you're all in front of. Your
crowd so they've been giving you everything, they have but
you still found a way. To lose that has, To
smart that has to really hurt because it's sort of
like losing in silence because you're not supposed to lose in.
That moment that's that's what home court. Advantage is that's
what we are seeing In The western conference. Right now

(01:25:20):
so we're seeing play out. So far game four. Becomes
critical If the thunder Beat The tea Wolves On, monday
night then the series is over because you're not going
to see a three to one comeback Against That oklahoma
city team By this. Minnesota team. You're not if it's two,
to two things are very interesting. Going forward it. Really

(01:25:40):
is but then you look at it on the flip
side Of, the east they just don't have. That Luxury
the knicks have got to go on the road And win.
Game three if, they don't this thing is. A rap
maybe it, goes five but it's, a RAP and i
think they. Know that but how tired? Are they how
much energy did they expend end to lose by Five

(01:26:04):
on friday Night when brunson missed that, deep three and
when they had those mental lapses late and, just defensively
they weren't able To Stop pascal siakam and just they
were in trouble most of the night Against that, pacers
team which is not really what you would have anticipated after,
game one except for the fact that you played an
extra five minutes and. You lost so everything. Hurts worse

(01:26:27):
you're more tired and, more exhausted and now you've got
to put forth, more effort, and like mentally you have
to check yourself, and, realize look we can't do. Too
much we just have to go out and play. Our
game and that can be difficult when you're down, too
well because the pressure is all. On Them the pacers
can kind of play free a. Little bit now you
don't want to, lose there but you've already taken two
from them on, the road whereas In The western conference everything's.

(01:26:50):
On serf nobody's broken, serve yet and so it's kind
of exactly what you would anticipate a series is supposed.
To BE so i don't know why it became easy
to then say that there was going to be a
sweet but that just became exactly where. We went and
what did, You, get well You Got anthony edwards showing
up we haven't talked a Lot About anthony edwards on.
This show i've heard this now for a couple. OF

(01:27:13):
days i think it's become pretty popular to now have
revisionist history and, say that, you know We Crowned anthony
edwards before we, should have and all this other kind. Of,
Stuff Look anthony edwards is a great. Basketball player, he
is but to, this point that's all. He is he's not,
a leader he's not a dude that like everybody. Rallies

(01:27:33):
around he's just a. Great ballplayer he's Very much kevin
durantish in. That way he's not as thin Skinned As.
Kevin durant he's not all in his feelings The Way kevin.
Durant is but ultimately he just wants to be left
alone to go, play basketball which is Exactly What kevin
durant has. ALWAYS said i just want to go. PLAY
ball i want, TO hoop i want to do that's
THAT'S what i. Love Doing anthony edwards wants to be
a great. Basketball player when, they asked do you want

(01:27:55):
to be the face of, The, league no he does
not want to be the face of. The league and
you kind of watch him at you're waiting for him
to take, over games and he doesn't really. Do IT
so i do think that there is something to. That
narrative we can watch and Appreciate What anthony edwards has
done and what he has been and at the same, moment,

(01:28:16):
say man he's still got a lot of room to,
get better and he's still got. Some things there are
definitely some flaws here when it comes to his ability
to be. The guy he can be the guy from a,
basketball STANDPOINT but i don't know that that's good enough
to actually take you to a championship in the state.
AND age i don't know that. IT is i don't
think that the mix last year was what, they needed

(01:28:36):
so they made a couple of tweaks and some of
THAT stuff i think has worked out pretty well, For
THEM but i still don't know that they have a.
Definite leader and if you don't have a definite leader on,
the floor if you don't have a, floor general you
put that in air quotes if, you want then you've
got to have that on. The SIDELINES and i think

(01:28:57):
That should minnesota lose this in five or maybe even,
in six questions are probably going to be Asked about
finch and maybe they. Should be you Look. At carlisle
carlisle has been exquisite For. The pacers you look at
most of these teams and you look at what You've Seen,
kenny atkinson who Was the coach Of, the year and

(01:29:20):
a lot of coaches in this league and what they're able,
to do and then you Look at finch and if,
they lose it's, just, like well who was leading? This
team who was the actual leader on? This team like
you look at it and, you think like maybe it
should be Like A mike conley or somebody. Like that
this more of a veteran guy that has led some
teams in. The past but the, problem is you don't
have a bunch of dudes On that minnesota roster with

(01:29:42):
championship experience. Or rings i'm not sure you. Have anybody
as a matter, OF fact I probably i'd have to
think that. Went through you have guys that have made
it to a conference finals obviously before this year and now,
this year of course all of, Them have but what
do you have when it comes to that level. Of
crunch when it comes to this is when we determine

(01:30:04):
your true colors and we see exactly what you are as.
A team i'm not sure the rudder, is THERE and
i don't Know That anthony edwards is a guy that
actually wants to be tasked with being the guy that
then kind of leads and brings, Everybody around like you
know who that is with the next It's, Jaymen brunson like.

(01:30:24):
It's not there's never been a question mark. About that
With the heat when they were rolling Prior, to lebron
it was Of Course. Dwayne wade, for him It Was
Alonzo morning like you can name this for almost every
franchise in. This league but it's not about who's the
best player, on there it's who's the. Galvanizing force do
guys just all of a sudden rise their level to

(01:30:46):
play Because Of? Anthony edwards Or Is anthony edwards just
a really good individual basketball player who from time to
time reminds you that he can be just insane from an,
athletic standpoint from, handling standpoint from a, shooting standpoint, All
that but there are MOMENTS where i think you want

(01:31:06):
to see him take over when he, Has it and
that was Something that torres has said many times on
this SHOW that i. Agree with it's like there's something
absent there in him that, you want and maybe he's
just not built to be. THAT guy, i mean if
he plays like this for the rest of, his career
he's going to Be in Hall. OF fame, i mean
he's an. Outstanding player this is not about his ability on.

(01:31:27):
The floor it's his ability to lead a championship team
as opposed to being a crucial piece where there still
needs to be somebody else that's kind of driving. The
ship he just more or less Wants to he wants.
To hoop and that was the same thing Like When
kevin durant Was In. OKLAHOMA city i keep Going To
kevin durant because it just seems like the most. OBVIOUS

(01:31:48):
comparison i Don't Think kevin durant was ever really. A
leader THAT'S why i ended up Joining A steph Curry
Led golden. State team IT was, I Mean russell westbrook
was more sort of the vocal leader and the force on.
The floor durant was just the. Silent assassin that's what.
He did he just took shots and he made a ton.
Of shots he did everything he wanted on, the floor

(01:32:09):
but there was not, that like, all right this dude
is the dude you're following like With the lakers for a,
long time You Had, derek fisher you had guys like
that that was Not A, kevin DURANT and i don't
think It's An. Anthony EDWARDS and i think that's one
of the things that Is causing minnesota so, much trouble
even though it certainly Didn't in game three in, this
series is that many times you were looking for the

(01:32:30):
rudder on, the ship or you're looking for, the captain
and there's nobody that is there to take. That mantle
and it should Be An anthony edwards based on, his
talent but it may not be. His personality it may
just not be the way. HE'S driven i don't need
to be. THE leader i just want to go out
and be the nastiest basketball player that you've, ever seen
and oftentimes he looks. That part but when this gets

(01:32:55):
like let's say this does Stay on serve and you
Go to, game five that's where you need a leader to.
Step up If you're minnesota on, the road you need
that guy to, step up not just on the floor
of what, he's doing but also just making sure everybody is.
On BOARD and i don't know that they. HAVE that
i don't think they have. THAT invention i don't think
they have That In. Anthony EDWARDS and i think that

(01:33:17):
separates what we can Say About anthony edwards in terms
of where he. Finds, himself now he had a very
efficient thirty point Night in, game three but that's what he's.
Gonna do he's gonna make shots and he's gonna do
amazing things on the. Basketball floor but what's. The difference
the difference is the leadership qualities Of A joeen brunson

(01:33:39):
or A Shake gilges alexander Or nikolea jokic or one of.
THOSE guys i Don't See anthony edwards. Like that that
DOESN'T mean i don't think he's as great a player
as some of THE guys i, Just mentioned but that's
not the. Entire game and when you get into, the
playoffs it's not just who the best basketball. Player is
it's it's, team oriented it's it's, galvanizing force, it's motivation

(01:34:05):
it's leading from, the front and it can't just be
me scoring more points than everybody else on. MY team
I just i haven't seen those Qualities Out anthony. Edwards
yet maybe maybe it's something that you've SEEN that. I
haven't you can tweet Me At jmart radio and let
me know, about THAT but i just it just hasn't
been there up to. This point, But nonetheless minnesota won

(01:34:27):
forty three to one oh One in. Game three game
four will Be on. MONDAY night a lot of guys
weren't forced to play minutes on either side because this
thing was decided. So early so maybe we're gonna have
a little bit more fresh Legs in game four for, both,
Teams uh and maybe that's gonna make for a little
bit more of an exciting and balanced game where both

(01:34:48):
teams are actually shooting the, ball better Even With oklahoma
city on. The road so we'll find that out when
we come back out of. The break we can shift
gears a little bit because we haven't, talked, about UH
the nfl in college football yet. At All and torres
teased in the Second Hour aaron rodgers and talking a
little bit. About That There's ben johnson responding to some

(01:35:09):
of the things that have been Said About. Kayleb williams
there's a COUPLE of, NFL topics, i Think Including josh
allen And the bills again being talked about like they
should Be The super. Bowl favorites i'm gonna tell YOU
why i don't care about that conversation and playoff receding
in college football and what. That means so all of
that is still to come here on. This program we're

(01:35:31):
gonna continue to try And bring aaron, back in but him.
On location we're trying to work through that as best.
We can but we are live In The Fox sports,

Screen So aaron rodgers Was in Texas in austin at

(01:37:21):
some kind of an event with a Rapper Named Mike
STUD and i am not going to front AS if
i know What A mic, STUD is i have. No
idea that is not a NAME that i knew prior
to reading. This story i'm somebody that was up on
hip hop for, a While but i'm forty SIX and
i think that those days are behind Me NOW when

(01:37:42):
i hear the Name of i've hit. That rate like
you get to a spot where you're old ENOUGH that
i Go To apple music to see. NEW albums i
want to see if any of any of my favorite
bands have a new album, coming out and all of
the stuff that is featured like on the, NEW releases
i DON'T even i mean the. TOP screens i mean
like the second line where, it's like here's all the

(01:38:04):
upcoming things that you can pre order. COMING soon i
know none. Of them i'm, just like is? THIS music
i have no idea what? This is like that's How old,
I've BECOME like i have to look deep in, to
see like Is the War on drugs that got a new?
Album out national got a new? Album out like you
can't find most of this stuff because there's a whole

(01:38:25):
lot of other and a lot of these a lot
of these artists have like dollar signs instead. Of essays.
It's madness it's quite. Frankly Madness but mike stud no
disrespect other than just not knowing who, he is could
be incredible for. Whatever Reason aaron rodgers was at. An
event there WAS a q and a session and a
girl gets up pretty young and Asks If aaron rodgers

(01:38:47):
is going to play For The chicago bears or if
you would, interesting question not really shuit where it, came
from considering They F caleb williams in, year two a
new coach and all. This Stuff But aaron rodgers' response to,
THIS was i believe there's a team that might Play
in chicago this year on a. Road trip and of
Course The pittsburgh steelers are going to Play in chicago

(01:39:11):
this year on a, road trip so there's the hint. Being,
dropped uh now he's going to Be. A steeler and
of Course the roonies have come out, and said, you
know we're giving him a little bit. More TIME and
i think collectively many of us HAVE just i rolled this.
Whole thing they don't know what's happening at the. Quarterback
spot and we're Basically, in june like camp is going.

(01:39:34):
To be we're one hundred, days, away folks from the
start of the college. Football season, like this we're not
far away, from this like football is going to be
played camps and you have to start working through some
things and figuring. Stuff out Not That aaron rodgers was
somebody that came to camp early in most of. The
time But the steelers are just letting this dude hold.

(01:39:55):
Them hostage and then he goes and he answers this
question with this flippant response that's designed to grab attention
and get people like me talking about it on. THE
radio I think vegas has Actually Allowed aaron torres back on.
The air i'm, not POSITIVE but I think torres you.
WITH me i can you? HEAR me i. Hear, You,
okay well here's.

Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
The deal i'm gonna let you just run this show
for the rest of, the night and.

Speaker 3 (01:40:20):
Apparently you might be doing four.

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
MORE hours i don't know if you're ready for the Overnight,
with bernie, BUT yeah i think Me and bernie are
on the same. Thing here it's a busy travel. Weekend
obviously so first, of all, you know just so, YOU
know i want to apologize to, Both, you bree, tight shirt.
ET cetera i apologize and don't mean to put more
on your. Guy's plate, but yeah apparently it's. A Thing

(01:40:42):
but i'm gonna let you just run, the show and
whatever you want to, Talk about i'll respond IN case i.
CRAP out i don't want to be, be LEADING but
i hear There's An aaron rodgers take that we're.

Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
Percolating, on, so yeah do you know What a mike?
Stud is have you ever Heard of? MIKE stud I
think i need one to stay connected to the. Internet, today,
yeah yeah that's a. Good one he's. A Rapper And
aaron rodgers was at an event with him and DOES
a Q and a session and a young girl gets up,
and asks would you ever play For The chicago Bears? And,

(01:41:13):
rogers ever the, SHOWMAN says i believe there's a team
that might Play in chicago this year on a. Road,
trip yes in case you, were Wondering the pittsburgh's going
back To. The packers he's going back To. The, packers
yeah certainly they're going to play on a. Road trip vikings.
ARE too i believe it was a team that might
Play in chicago this year on a. Road Trip and i'm,

(01:41:34):
JUST like, i mean how long is this? Gonna go
what are? We doing what is? This flirtation and why is?
This girl like we haven't talked, about this and we
we kind of has, a policy kind of decided we
weren't going to talk, about this but now it's, just,
like Dude. It's june eventually you have to actually like
something has to. Be DONE and i don't even Just Mean,
AARON rodgers i Mean, The, steelers like at what point

(01:41:55):
are you guys gonna become a professional football? Team again
because this whole like it's this weird hostage crisis that's
been going on In The pittsburgh steelers quarterback room now
for like months. And months nothing happens in, free agency
nothing's going on because you're Waiting. ON rogers i assume
he probably is gonna, Go there but, it's like what

(01:42:16):
are we doing?

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Here now YOU AND i i don't even know how
much we've talked about it because there's been, No news
and it's almost LIKE the, wnba, conversation right is like
the more you give a non, topic air the more
like you justify. The behavior it's essentially the same that
we were just talking about WITH. The wnba and, you know,

(01:42:38):
TO me i Guess where i'm a little.

Speaker 3 (01:42:41):
Bit Surprised Jmart.

Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
IS like i guess THE analogy i would use is,
YOU remember i don't know if you, remember this but
last Offseason When dan hurley was flirting With the lakers
and YOU and i WERE and i just, basically, said
like look that organization's a, crap SHOW and i don't
Know Why dan hurt would want to be a part.
Of IT and i think unless you LIVE in la
you don't realize like how weird things. Had GOTTEN and

(01:43:05):
I guess i, just wonder are we at that point
With the steelers where, it's, like oh maybe they're a
little bit more of a mess than we realized because
either one of two things. Is happening either there's a
silent verbal agreement that he's gonna sign and for, whatever
reason they just haven't, executed it.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
Or, MORE realistically i just think they might be a bigger.

Speaker 2 (01:43:25):
Crap Show and i've said that term like five times
on this SHOW to i don't, know why but a
bigger s show than we thought, they WERE because i
can't think of any. Other explanation and my whole THING
is i just am surprised That, the steelers as, an
organization this, proud organization at least publicly appears to be
letting this dude hold. THEM hostage i, think that to

(01:43:46):
me is the big takeaway Is If aaron rodgers has
the leverage to, do this. THAT'S fine i just don't
understand Why the steelers are seemingly letting him do that
over the course of the last.

Speaker 3 (01:43:57):
Couple, MONTHS yeah i. Don't either and then the OTHER question,
i have and then we'll get to disigre is are
we sure? HE'S good i think we are understand, the
answer but are? WE sure, i mean are We positive
aaron that twenty, Twenty Five, aaron rodgers whatever he's been
doing off and on this last handful of, months aware

(01:44:19):
are we sure he's actually worth all of this trouble like,
twenty eighteen, Twenty Nineteen. Aaron rodgers that's a. Different discussion
but when's the last when's the last time this dude
won a? Playoff game and when's the last time that
he played a relevant football game? LIKE it i. DON'T
know i don't know That, the steelers, like you. Are
waiting but is the juice even worth? THE squeeze, i

(01:44:41):
guess Is what. I'm.

Speaker 2 (01:44:42):
Saying, Yeah no AND and i was being sarcastic when
you said DO like i think, you said do we
know how good? He IS and i think the answer. Is,
no no, you said are we sure? He's GOOD and
i think we.

Speaker 3 (01:44:53):
Do, anymore yeah we do have an answer.

Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
TO that I just I don't i actually don't think he's,
good ANYMORE and i don't, right TERRIBLE because i think
clearly they think he's an upgrade over what. They had,
but yeah that's the other element of this is that
We're Treating aaron rodgers like it's twenty eleven and not twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:45:13):
Twenty five it's just, a, weird weird. Weird deal and the, other.

Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
Like here's the, other VARIABLE which i think YOU and
i might have talked about at, some point is we
Can Criticize.

Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
Russell wilson he did get.

Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
Them to the playoffs, Last, year, like yeah. How tough
Must Either russell wilson have been behind the scenes or
maybe they were seeing stuff in practice that maybe he
just it was. Smoking mirrors not that he was even
good on game day but the final four or. Five
weeks but it's just interesting that they. Moved off they
bring in the two guys, last offseason not. Just one
they run in, two guys and they move off both,

(01:45:48):
of them by, the way both of them we perceived
to be starters heading into, week one and they're gonna
Wait On, aaron rodgers who apparently is taking questions from
seven year olds but can't give us the most, basic answer,
which is are you gonna Be the steelers quarterback?

Speaker 3 (01:46:02):
Next year there are a couple of franchises that are
guilty of not planning for life after a. Stud quarterback
And the Steelers Let ben roethlisberger play and play and
play and play and had no Plan. After roethlisberger and
you're seeing what that looks. Like now you always have
to be looking ahead. In life you can't just be
complacent with where you are because something can change in,

(01:46:24):
a flash and then you find yourself just embroiled. In
MEDIOCRITY and i think that's what we're seeing With The
pittsburgh steelers. Right now be sure check Out The Fox

You steve Enjoy The vermont. Oklahoma connection, oh. Yeah indeed
so we're gonna take our final. Break here so this
has been. The show the theme of this show has
been kind of like we're putting a moratorium kind of
putting topic graveyard. OUT here wnba is finding a way

(01:52:22):
to just end our interest in, it completely as if
there was that much to. Begin with And Then aaron
rodgers To. The steelers And then i'm gonna say two.
More words we. Will predict We'll pick game three Of
The Eastern conference finals as well before we get out.
Of here but coming up next live From The Fox sports,
radio studios perhaps the last two times or the last

(01:52:44):
time that we mentioned these two words in this order
outside of just recapping a. Football Game, Push push we'll be.
Right Back I'm jason Martin's. Aeron torres This Is Fox.
Sports radio, Welcome Back. Fox Sports it's Saturday Here Fox.
Sports radio He's. ERON torres I Am. Jason martin coming,

(01:53:06):
Up Next. Bernie fratto he's gonna have some takes to
fire off over the next four hours, or so so
you want to stick around. For that, oh yeah houses,
on fire get the women and, children out in the
Words Of, Charles Barkley bernie freddo. Following, Us yeah i'm

(01:53:29):
just letting, it. Roll man it's, more. Tears fears we
can just keep. It going so, all right we're Gonna
pick game three here in just, A, Minute Tauris, but,
tush push are we? Done Here like i've had my
take in YOU and i kind of disagree. WITH this
i want it gone JUST because i think it's, Terrible

(01:53:50):
AESTHETICALLY like i hate. Watching it, it's, obnoxious annoying all
that kind. Of STUFF but i think we've now talked it.
To death if it couldn't get voted down, this year
if they needed two more votes and couldn't find them for,
whatever reason now, this's, like well how did they pull?
This off and What Was jason? Kelsey's ROLE and I

(01:54:10):
just i just. Forget IT just i. Don't care let's just. Move, on.

Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
Yeah all i'll, say is, you know it only did
not pass by two votes by, all accounts like it
was Something that goodell was quietly. Pushing for and, you,
KNOW listen i mean maybe there's a possibility that's sometime
between now and the start of, next year somebody sort

(01:54:37):
of figures out how to stop it With The. PHILADELPHIA
eagles i don't think that's, gonna HAPPEN but i, YOU
know i do think that, IF listen i think the
one thing that we found is that things that the
one the, owners want but two that the commissioner wants
generally tend. To HAPPEN so i hope that we're done.
With it i've given, MY stance i. Understand yours My

(01:54:59):
stand this is. Pretty simple just because one team has
a strategic advantage because of one quarterback doesn't MEAN we
i just think it's a. Slippery Slope and i've used
the example and it's not perfect apples, To apples but,
You Know josh allen could throw a sixty yard ball
on a dot to whoever his star wide, receiver is
Whether It's stefon diggs or, you Know Now keon coleman.

(01:55:20):
Or whoever Just Because bryce young can't make that throw
doesn't mean that we should outlaw the sixty yard pass.
Down FIELD and i feel like it's the exact same
thing with. This play so, To me i'm glad that
it got. Voted down. I'm excited but when you see that,
it was, you, know however many owners needed to and

(01:55:42):
it fell to, vote short and things, can change and
you know what If the eagles Win Another super bowl
or they get back. OR whatever i don't think it's
completely off the table because it feels Like Something roger
goodell wants wants out of, the game and if that's
what the, COMMISSIONER wants i think it's ultimately what. He got,
it's UNLESS as, i said somehow someway somebody either figures

(01:56:04):
out how to slow it down or it's not as
much of a strategic advantage For the eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:56:09):
GOING forward, I mean i still hope he, gets it
gets it taken care of, as well just BECAUSE again
i just think it's it's not fun, to watch AND
it's i think IT'S just i guess you just have
to make it so if you do ban it, or
whatever it's like you can't. Push somebody you can't actually.
Advance them the team can't get behind him like a
wall and push the, guy forward which IS which i

(01:56:29):
Think should i'd be cool with that all across, the
board not just on a fourth in. One, situation anytimes
like let the player make, the play don't let it
be how many people are standing. Behind him they can
then force them another five yards downfield and things. Like
THAT but i thought it. Was interesting it's like it
wasn't a fifty to. Fifty vote it had to be,
you know twenty, four votes and they got. Twenty two

(01:56:51):
so like they still had the, vast majority but they
didn't have quite enough to get. It done so you're,
probably right like maybe maybe they are going to try
and put this thing back up for a. Vote Again
but kelsey coming in there and saying that it was
safe and, ALL that i have, no idea Right like,
I've seen i've seen that talked about. BOTH ways i
just kind of at, this point It's like i'm sort

(01:57:12):
of fatigued by the whole. Thing now the name of
it is annoying as well as. The play, for me
it's just frustrating. To watch if it were, my TEAM
would i like? IT better i mean probably a, little
bit but it would also it's still just not it's just.
Esthetically bad it doesn't feel like football. To me but
it's going to be football for at least, another year
so we can leave it To, There. NICKS pacers, i

(01:57:35):
mean this. Is it if this goes three To, oh
aaron we know there's not going to be. A comeback
there's Not going they're not coming back from three to,
zero down especially when they're still on the road down three.
To zero do you Think the knicks have this win
in them to make this thing interesting or do you Think,
the pacers the way that they play and the way

(01:57:57):
that they play in, clutch time that they're just too much.

Speaker 2 (01:57:59):
Right now So apparently america doesn't want me to Give
any timberwolves TAKES because i literally crapped out the two
times we Were.

Speaker 3 (01:58:07):
Talking timberwolves my connection. Crapped Out so i'll.

Speaker 2 (01:58:10):
Be Brief picked game four, then No and i'll, just
say is that you laid out the Argument that minnesota's
entire season was on the Line on saturday Evening in,
game three and that was why we saw the best version.
Of them i'll go ahead and say it's the same For.
The knicks i'll, Say this i'm excited to see what
the City of indianapolis is Like post indy five hundred

(01:58:32):
If the pacers Get a game, THREE win i don't
think it'll be quite msg after they advance To The Eastern.
Conference finals i'll Take the knicks to win, this ONE
but i Think the pacers have proven through two games
that they are in fact the.

Speaker 3 (01:58:43):
Better, TEAM yeah I mean i think as, A team
i think that's. ABSOLUTELY right i just want To see
i'm most curious to see what they do with, the
Lineups what thibodeaux does with the lineups in, this game,
and yeah the season is clearly on. The line my
only question is how much gas is in the tank
right Now, The knicks they've played a whole lot of
minutes to lose both. Those games and my argument was

(01:59:05):
those losses hurt a. Lot worse that makes you a lot.
MORE exhausted i bet they are going to be a
lot more tired than are the pacers in. This one
tired is the Connection. In vegas so we're gonna give it.
A Rest bernie ferido is coming. Up next, All, right
aaron enjoy, The games enjoy the rest of, the weekend.
My friend we will turn it Over, to bernie and

(01:59:26):
we will hope we'll be able to Hear from bernie
over the next. Four hours he's gonna have take after take,
after take fire. Them off we'll see you next week
