Speaker 3 (02:23):
It was a long it was a long gee.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
It was a look.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
As someone who used to write, I like, when I
look at these, I'm like, that's a lot. I hope
people like can digest everything we're telling you.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
That was my first job with the Buccaneers, was literally
doing stuff like this and like writing their radio promos
and everything. And I'm just like, it's burned in my
brain how much each word take? Like huh, it's so yeah,
that's so funny.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
We've got a great show for you today, some great
guests too. We have Dallas radio hosts Jeff Cavanaugh joining
us in thirty minutes to give us all the inside
info on the Cowboys drama with Jerry Jones Ceedee Lamb.
Then we have Dodgers analyst Jose Mota joining US an
hour or two. We have producer Patrick with US today
technical producer Chris perfet Nick Cope at the news desk.

(03:04):
But let's start with our gold metal champs. The US
women's soccer team is back on top. And as I
said off the top of the show, I cried watching
this game, USA versus Brazil. This was a scrappy, fast
paced game right out of the gates. Brazil was clearly

(03:25):
the better team in the first half, but USA made
adjustments and won that second half. Alyssenaer, our US goalkeeper,
This safe is her?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
I mean my pronouns are she she? Because I could
never be her.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I love that save your own so many moments today,
but especially in like the extra stoppage time if she
didn't stop that goal, like I don't even want.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
To think about it.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
But there are so many comeback stories on this team,
and let's start with Mallory Swanson in her one hundredth
cap game, scoring USA's game winning goal. Everything that she
fought through to get back here. She missed the World
Cup due to injury. She had three surgeries, she had setbacks,
so to not only be a star standout in this

(04:19):
entire tournament, but then to have the game winning gold medal.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Her last surgery too, was only like six months ago, right.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, no, it was recent. She had an infection.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Like it was not an easy road, like the World
Cup was in twenty twenty three that she missed and
had three surgery, setbacks, everything everything that went around with it.
Her husband, Dansby Swanson, who is on the Cubs YEP shortstop,
he was talking about just watching her, the path that
she had, the difficult path that she had to get

(04:50):
back to this moment. He's like, I'm just crying every
time I'm watching her on the field, seeing what she's
doing and making such a huge impact.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Valuable to you. To have someone at home that understands
exactly what you're going.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Through and the top athlete.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I mean going through rehab for stuff like that. We
only see like the end of it, right, But when
you're going.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Through its mental toughness, mental toughness, the physical tart.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
That stuff hurts.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
Yeah, Like working your way back is painful from stuff
like that, and it's slow and you don't see progress
every day. And to have someone by your side to
say no, babe, this is this is standard, like, this
is normal. Yeah, you are making progress. Just keep at
it like and someone who deeply understands that it's awesome for.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Me, No, it's incredible. But this US team in general,
after they got knocked out of the twenty twenty three
ye World Cup in the Sweet sixteen, when they were
looking for a three peat, they needed a reset, just
like the US men needed a reset.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
But the women hired Emma Hayes.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Who joined the team straight off of a Chelsea title
and in ten games, ten games, you guys coached USA
took go Just to put this into perspective of how
incredible this is. Emma officially started coaching the US women's
national team two months before the Olympics, so she only
had four matches with this team before the Olympics started,

(06:14):
and they have been unbeaten since she joined this team.
And Emma made some big moves and changes. The most
notable was leaving Alex Morgan off of the roster, but
it was a hard move that needed to happen for
this next generation of US players to take that step.
And she revamped this team in only ten games and
it worked.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
It worked.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
It's the crazy part too, because we are not necessarily
a powerhouse even in women's soccer anywhere else in the world.
Like there is some really stiff competition from other countries
that have more developed youth programs and a pipeline in
stuff in their.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Professional leagues too. Exactly like a lot of the major
careers that go and play overseas.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
All the major Premier league teams have women's clubs and
developmental academies that they are that these women are going
through their entire lives like that. That we have developmental
leagues here in the US, but it's it's not the same,
it's not the same. So to go up against very
stiff global competition and to turn around a program so quickly, I.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Mean in two months into like step it up, men,
that's insane. Like that ten games and that included a
gold medal win in those ten games four games prior
Like that is absolutely insane. And we have new superstars,
you guys, that totally emerged during the Olympics. Well, so
we talked about male Swanson already four goals, including that

(07:38):
gold medal game winner, her one hundredth cap today to
win gold. Trinity Rodman, Hello, three goals. Absolutely incredible. Sophia Smith,
happy twenty fourth birthday today. What a gift to win
gold at twenty four amazing, Like the three, these three
are the future yes of this team.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
And it was so cool to see, like you'd.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Magan Rapino in the stands, you had you had a
handful of former US women.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yes like hearing supporting.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Right, cheering on and and it's it's tough because for
so long it was Alex Morgan, Megan Rapino, Juliertz, like
all these like household names that carried this team for
a decade. And this was the official passing of the
torch to that next generation. Because I don't think anyone
would have said this was a sure thing heading into

(08:28):
the Olympics.

Speaker 3 (08:29):
Right, Like I said, global competition is tough for women's soccer.
And I also really appreciate the fact that when I
was a kid, when we were kids, I mean that
Mia Ham moment is like burned into every everybody's Meaham,
Brandy Chastain, and that's what really inspired I think so
many girls to get into soccer, and so talk about

(08:51):
how the US doesn't have the same developmental leagues that
European countries do having a consistent level or consistent generations
of great No, these amazing stars that are going to
inspire little girls to get into soccer and want to
be the next now Trinity Rodman or the next three
girls that want to be the next Triple Espresso. It's

(09:12):
going to do a lot for the developmental and the
pipeline programs in women's soccer in this country, so that
when you do get to the higher levels, that should
grow the game even further for women's professional soccer and
give girls a real future in the sport that's not
just every four years at the Olympics.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Well, and the crazy thing is like, you can have
all the talent in all the right places, but if
you're not having fun, you're not going to win. And
I've given keynote speeches on this because I have covered
championship teams across so many different sports, and the one
common theme, like there's like a three point thing, but
one of the main points is that everybody's having fun.

(09:51):
And Mallory Swanson, who scored the game winning goal, was
asked after the game, how did Emma help turn this
team around? And he said, Emma reminded us just to
have fun out there.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
She sat us down.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Before the game and said, this is just another game.
You're going out there to play with your friends.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Your friends, fine.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Paris, you're in Paris.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
You're just you're under the lights, the fun like you
have an entire country behind you. Just have fun with it.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Also, last time you were here, you won a World Cup.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
So US women are undefeated in France with someone with
pink hair to win. Robin had pink care. Congratulations once again,
I mean tip of the cap. I wantn't be surprised.
I was like, Trinity changes her look up everything.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, gosh, much like her dad did.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
We love Yeah, in case you didn't know, daughter, But
it was just like, what a what an athletic family?

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Insane?

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Congratulations once again, US women's soccer back on top. So exciting.
But the other big final happening right now. We've got
the US men versus France is at halftime. I think
it just stopped for half ts I was looking for.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
A score update.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's that nine forty one. So, I
mean it's been a closer half.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Like the last two minutes just now, so I'm like,
I think this is this is when the.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Second half and it better be. But I got to say,
what a special team we are watching right now. Three
of the best players who have defined the last decade
in the NBA, all playing together for the first time
and putting on a show. Lebron James, Steph Curry, and
Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Can I just say it. With Lebron James and Steph Curry.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Being my two favorite players, it's almost like a spiritual
experience to be able to cheer for them together at
the same time, and watching them even in that semi game, like,
just the connections, what they're able to do, its magic.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
It feels like a video game.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
It's literally so beautiful build all stars of superstars. It's
and but like and there's more skin in the game
than an actual All star game.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Like it's not like that doesn't count.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
This is a real competition.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Say for your country.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
You're all together, heart and soul, everything in this And
the other great part is they're making everyone else around
them better. We're watching Joel Embiid play in the biggest
games of his career and show us that he can
level up when he needs to.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
I love that he's exactly who they need him to
be because they needed to be that two way player.
That was the that was the whole thing, and it
was like, all right, is he gonna be able to
step up and do that? Because there was so much controversy.
I feel like with Steve Kerr making him a starter,
they're like, does he deserve that starting spot? Should you
put together more of a comprehensive team on the floor
rather than than just the superstars. But of those superstars,

(12:45):
Joel Embiid is the one that can play two ways. Yeah,
and you needed him to do it and he has
been doing it yeah, and so much so that when
Steve Kerr was making a change today in the change
to the starting lineup, nobody was worried if they were
gonna then pull joelm beat out And so they ended
up swapping in KD for Drew Holliday and that seems

(13:05):
to now have been working. But I like, I want
to add KD to the Steph Lebron mix. Like seeing
all three of these guys, I.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
No, no, he was in there is like the three
players that have defined it's so last decade. They're the
three best players.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
So fun and it just makes you appreciate the level
of this sport that we have. I mean, this is
our sport, Yes, Americans, it's American basketball.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
How incredible to see the competition and how the game
has grown so.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
Much globally, so much, And that's why it almost as
much as I don't want to talk about, you know,
anything against the Dream Team, given my affinity for Michael
Jordan growing up in Chicago, all.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
That other stuff, they weren't playing against.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
They weren't playing against competition. No, No, Like you now
have eighty something NBA players on international rosters, whereas and.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
They've been the number one overall pick the last couple
of years, right.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Like you're they're literally playing in France against Victor Woman Baniyama.

Speaker 6 (13:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
So it's an incredible thing to see the game itself
grow globally, but then still have our men be dominant
and then get to see all of these greats play
together and so seamlessly too, Like they're so they're.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Showing highlights right now, you guys. And I'm just like.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
Watching Lebron just be Lebron on the biggest stage.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
At the biggest moment is what he was born for.
I think I just get chills.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Chill, and I think, honestly and it's a huge ringing
endorsement to of Steve Kerr to manage all of these
egos all like, all of these guys are superstars, right stars,
and they're all working together so cohesively because it's for
one country, for our country, and we all get to
get behind them. There's just so few things that are
so unifying, and I just I love it. I mean,

(14:46):
the guys were playing into Joel and be getting booed
by the French crowd, it was just they all have
each other's back. And then also my favorite little subplot
of all of this has been Katie's Twitter fingers.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Oh okay wa this man.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
We're gonna save that for what do's and don't oh,
because it's elite and it deserves a bigger moment than
right now. But he is he is an elite troll.
Oh my god, he is, like I mean, he always has, man, but.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
He's teaching a masterclass in elite trolling.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
This man like literally got up six hours later after
playing their last game and was just like, I got
time today. Yeah, Oh I got time?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Oh do I got time? It was beautiful.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
So, I mean, this is such a magical moment watching
all this greatness right now, play for gold for USA,
but also do it for USA, and do it for
Kobe because today's date is eight ten twenty four. Kobe's
two Laker jersey numbers and his team USA jersey number,
So there's a little added special emotion for us like

(15:47):
LA fans and Kobe fans and everyone around. So this
is just let's do it, let's get it done. We'll
keep you updated on the score as it keeps happening.
We're going to take a quick break here, but when
we come back, the Cowboys drama just keeps getting spicier.

Welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry with
Carmen Vitali. We are broadcasting live from Attire dot com
Studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
Says usual Sack.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
This is my usual I made last second change usual sack.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
You guys.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
We asked what our music selection was today and our
technical producer Chris.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Was like, oh no, no, the usual stack. Gaga is
not our usual stack.

Speaker 8 (17:07):
But I have not played this well song month's on
my playlist.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
I'm dead. I mean, I love Gaga. I've seen her
six times in Vegas.

Speaker 8 (17:17):
And also I know we never got to the Gaga
request for Olympic music too, So I'm.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Like, okay, that's true, fair, okay, all right, Well guys,
let's get to the Cowboys because the drama just keeps
getting spicier. In Dallas, Jerry Jones was talking to the
media on Thursday and was asked about Cedee Lamb's contract
because obviously he's still holding out, and Jerry Jones said,
I don't have any urgency to get it done.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Excuse me, you can't.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You're a top wide receiver, your first round pick in
twenty twenty, Dak's most valuable weapon, and you don't have
any urgency to get it done. CD's reaction on Twitter
was perfect, immediately quote tweeting it with.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Lol PERIODL period, period. There was a period. The period
makes a different.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
That has been like a ha funny. That's not like
a hah ha ha funny. That's like a ha okay,
uh huh. And then Dak commented on the situation, saying,
I have urgency for it does like.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Why would you publicly say this.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
I do not understand the strategy because if you don't
sign him what, He's probably gonna sit out and then
he'll sign with another team next season get the same,
like close to the money that he wants. Like I,
if you do not get this done, this will be
the first ripple in a really bad ripple effect for

(18:42):
this Dallas Cowboys team.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
The Cowboys don't have an option not to sign CD,
which is what makes us even more frustrated. We can
slap in the face. Then I don't like, I don't
understand why. Then you come out and you're very nonchalant
about this. This is this is the first time CD
is getting paid. Yeah, like paid paid, and this is
his livelihood, This is his face, family's livelihood. This is
generational money that you are just laughing off right now,

(19:05):
and you.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
Are the richest franchise in the world.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Well, you know, they don't act like it, Jerry jo I.
What I also don't understand is they can the Cowboys
continually make their star players, who are also at like
the best at their positions in the league, work to
prove themselves over and over and over again.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
This is not not only.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
On the field during the off season, during contract That's
what I'm.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Talking about, is during contract negotiations. Because you look at
the track record here last season. This is the biggest
offense to me, pun intended. Zach Martin, who is the
best guard in the league, has been, still is, still
has more juice left in the tank. You made this man,
this offensive lineman, get on Twitter and talk about his

(19:48):
Madden score because you were playing hardball with the best
guard in the league who you were going to pay. Anyway,
offensive linemen don't advocate for themselves, they don't talk about
them they don't do any of that. You acted, and
then from an organizational perspective, and I am not one
to come to the defense of an organization. It doesn't
make sense either, because if you're getting these deals done

(20:09):
at the eleventh hour, your back is against the wall
to get them done. If you look at Dak's last contract,
it included a no trade clause and a no tag clause.
Because all of it was done at the last minute,
they gave all of the leverage over to Dak Prescott,
so that now when he's seeking a new deal, he
has all of the power in any of these vertations.

(20:30):
He does not have to accept any offer from the Cowboys.
They have no way of keeping him after the season.
It makes no sense organizationally. All it does is alienate
your best players. And what I really don't understand, Ced
Lamb was drafted by your organization.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
In the first round in twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
You developed, you evaluated him, you drafted him, you developed
CD Lamb. He has now turned into one of the
best wide receivers in the league. That is a blue
chip on your GM record. Now that is something you
can point to and say, look what I did, I
did this right? Why did you Why wouldn't you just
then pay here early and take care of those homegrown talents.

(21:13):
You knew this was coming. He's been one of the
best receivers in the league.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
For the talking about wanting top receiver money since April.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
If they got this.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Done months ago, you could have saved four or five
million dollars on this Mape.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
Yes, yes, absolutely before. If you would have gotten this,
you had the option of getting this done before the
Justin Jefferson contract. You could have made him the highest
paid receiver in the NFL for yes, four million dollars
left yus. Then now you are going to have to
pay him. It makes no sense. And I am totally
with cde Lamb that I would be so ticked off
if I was him. And then did you see Michael

(21:46):
Parsons retweeted CD's Lola Micah is clocking this because Mike's
doing a new deal. You have to bet that every
player that is going to be due a new deal
within the next couple of years is keeping track of
how poorly the Dallas Cowboys treat their stars.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
That's what I said.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
This could be the start of a really bad ripple
effect because it's not only pissing off CD, but it's
pissing off all of your other top guys on your team.
We've already heard from Dak as you said. Micah Parson's
already retweeted it like this is this is not the
vibe you want going into the start of a season
with so much on the line that I'm.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
There again, you don't have anybody outside of CD Lamb
for Dak to throw to you right now. Your offense does
not exist without CD Lamb. So there isn't an option
of not paying him or letting him sit out or
anything like that. If you do look back to last year,
Zach Martin got his deal done I think August fourteenth,
so we're still within like that window and it's you know,
plenty of time to the season. But CD is also

(22:42):
not in camp. No, it's gonna take him a little
bit out, you like, get back into the group of things.
I know that he's been getting all of the plays
and stuff sent to his iPad, all that other stuff,
but you are missing time on task, you're missing reps.
You don't want to go in cold to the to
the regular season. It's just it's not good man, And
it makes no sense from any perspective to play around

(23:05):
with your star players, especially the ones that you that
are homegrown.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Talent for you drafted. Just get her down. All right. Now,
let's check out with Nick Cope and see what's trending.

Speaker 9 (23:16):
All right, we got the gold medal game US and
France and the Americans leading fifty six.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
To forty five. They're pulling away, just like Carmen. Said
Devin Booker.

Speaker 9 (23:26):
He has played well, thirteen points, a couple of three pointers.
He got Steph Curry with nine, so Booker are the
only one in double figures. But very diverse offensive attack.
Jason Tatum got a fair amount of minutes in the
first half for people that have been clamoring for the
Celtic to get some more playing time. On the other side,
it is Gershan Yabuselli leading France with seventeen points, victor

(23:49):
Woman Yama, He's got fifteen. Right now, it is the
Americans up eleven, seven and a half minutes to play
in the third quarter. Elsewhere in Paris, USA women's soccer,
they're back on top. They beat Brazil won to nothing
in the gold medal match. That's their fifth Olympic gold,
first since London in twenty twelve. Mallory Swanson the goal
early in the second half on the track, the US

(24:10):
won three gold medals today. He had both the men's
and women's four by four hundred teams taking first. The
women's just obliterated the field, and then American Massai Russell
won gold in the women's one hundred meter hurdles by
one to one hundredth of a second. Also he had
US gymnast Jordan Giles may have to return her bronze medal.

Speaker 5 (24:31):
From the floor exercise.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
So the Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled today
that the judging panel improperly granted an inquiry into Child's
score that moved her into third place. And now this
court says that the original finishing order that had childs
in fifth should be reinstated.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
You saw this, Carmen.

Speaker 9 (24:50):
Apparently the inquiry was made four seconds to a you
gotta do it within a minute, and apparently they did
it in a minute oh four. There hasn't been any
word for and the IOC is that how they're going
to handle this child.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Like wasn't at the time. If you're four seconds late,
how do you not then say that you're four seconds late?
Sorry at the time, Yeah, come back five days later
and supper her of a medal. Now, yes, she's with
that iconic podium.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
Yep, she's back in the States with the medal.

Speaker 9 (25:16):
So still were things to sort out there, but yeah,
tough for Jordan Chiles. In the NFL, we had rookie
quarterback Shade and Daniels and Caleb Williams make their preseason debuts.
Williams played a couple of drives for the Bears, ninety
five yards passing at a thirteen yard rush, no touchdowns,
no picks. Daniels just played the opening drive, had a
nice deep throw forty five yards through the air. He

(25:39):
capped it with the three yard touchdown.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Rush.

Speaker 9 (25:41):
Raiders and Vikings just started curious to see JJ McCarthy's
debut on a little bit.

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Of course.

Speaker 9 (25:45):
Sam Darnold got the start and then one final in baseball,
Yankee shout out the Rangers eight nothing. That is game
one of a doubleheader, and the Bronx back to you.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Thank you, Nick.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitali. We are broadcasting live from the our
dot Com studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending
your Saturday afternoon with Carmie me. But it is time
for our first guest, Dallas radio host Jeff Kavanaugh.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Thank you for joining the show.

Speaker 10 (26:12):
Hello, Hello, Hello Arry Is.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
I know I was hearing wonderful things about you on
our carpool to work today, Jeff, So thank you so
much for joining the show.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
And let's start with some cowboys drama, shall we. Let's
do it, Let's go.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Jerry Jones said he feels no urgency to get a
deal done with Ceedee Lamb despite his holdout. How badly
does Dallas need CD back this season.

Speaker 10 (26:42):
Desperately? I try to explain to people, but it's never
gonna work. When Jerry Jones talks, you don't have to listen.
I mean, the most honest thing Jerry ever said was
years ago, and it was I don't remember what it
was in relation to, but he said, just because I
say a thing doesn't make it true. What Yeah, So

(27:07):
what Jerry does? He said over and over and over
and over and over, and we just for some reason
still react all the things he says. But he's told
us over and over I know how to stir it
up like other teams are running my football games, which
means that the sports shows are going to open the
show with how did Caleb Williams do? How did jayde
and Daniels do? Unless Jerry Jones says something that makes

(27:29):
him talk about the Cowboys, and so he did, because
that's what he does. He's special.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
He is absolutely one of those guys that believes that
any publicity is good publicity. No, but listen, this was
Ceedee Lamb had thirty percent of Dak's target share last year.
I keep having this fight on national television about how
the Cowboys just do not have enough weapons for Dak
to get them not only through the regular season, but

(27:55):
then into the postseason. Because if you're a defense, all
you're scared about is see So make me feel better
about the guys that Dak has around him. Even if
CD's out there.

Speaker 10 (28:07):
Oh I can't. Oh no, no, no. If CD is out there,
I was gonna say, without CD, I can't make you
feel any better. There's nothing, there's nothing to be done
about that. Like, Jake Ferguson is a good tight end,
and I think that we're not far away from him
being talked about with the really really good tight ends.
I think he's a good player, but it's not like
he's the freak athlete and you're terrified of him. He's
just going to be a consistent, reliable, good player. Brandon

(28:30):
Cutts is a standard wide receiver too. All of the
guys competing to be the other starter since everybody plays
with three wide receivers now, are unproven or you're hoping,
and maybe he can be optimistic about those things, but no,
I mean Ceedee Lamb is one of those guys that
not only just the raw number of targets catches yards,

(28:52):
but how efficient they are targeting him, how many big
plays they make targeting him, while he's one of the
most double teams guys in football. CD is a Without
Ceedee Lamb, this team is not a playoff team. It
would just Dak would have to be superhuman for this
to be a playoff team without Ceedee Lamb. So they
have to get it done, and I'll be shocked if
they don't. And this is also like this is Cowboys

(29:15):
standard operating procedures. There's certain things that they're not good at,
and one of them is getting their best player signed
when you're supposed to, and so they end up bent
over the barrel. I don't know if I'm allowed to
say that well, so yeah, eventually they end up writing
the exact check that the player asks for because they've

(29:36):
run out of leverage because they wait too long. It's
what they love negotiating. They love the art of the deal,
and they don't recognize that they're awful at it.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Well, speaking of a deal, do you see Dak staying
in Dallas after the season?

Speaker 10 (29:50):
I do only because I can't see Jerry Jones wandering
into the world of the unknown at quarterback. He's done
it before, and it's all. If you're a Cowboys fan
who's in the camp of uh, you could always just
sign Trey Lance to another contract and he could be
the next guy. I would say, having been at Cowboys

(30:12):
camp for ten or eleven days, you're you don't want that.
Dak is really, really good, and I can't. I just
I cannot see a world where Jerry Jones is walking
away from a franchise quarterback. I think that the only
way that Dak is playing somewhere else next year is
because he's done with the Cowboys. That's the only way

(30:34):
I could see what's happening.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Do you think Dak's mind is made up that he's
going to hit free agency?

Speaker 4 (30:37):
Either way.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Yeah, Like, what's your vibe from Dak?

Speaker 10 (30:41):
I would think, Yeah, I don't see why you wouldn't. Yeah,
I think it makes all the sense in the world
to hit free agency. And the only way that you
can stop me is to give me what I would
get in free agency. And that's what the Cowboys did
to themselves. By the weirdest part about not having Dak
done a year ago at a year ago is that,

(31:02):
like you saw the cost of doing business at quarterback,
they didn't want to give him the deal that he
ended up getting last time, and they still had to
even with his legs snapped in a half and they
had to give him a no trade clause and they
had to tell them that they won't tag him again. Yep,
they lose these negotiations so badly. Jit at the earliest

(31:25):
time possible, we shouldn't be talking about the CD extension
right now. We should we talk about the Micah extension.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
They are they're a year or.

Speaker 10 (31:35):
All of us players, and it is just it's absurd.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Yeah, that was That's the thing is everybody talks about, Oh,
you have to pay your quarterback and your receiver and
your best defensive player. How in the world. Are you
going to do that? Guess what, it didn't have to
be this way. You should have signed DAK last year.
You could have signed CD last year. You could like
and now I love that Michael Parsons is paying attention
to this because you see him retweeting CD and I

(32:04):
I really want to understand. Though I know that they're
bad at the deal, they don't know they're bad at
the deal all of this kind of stuff, But what
do they gain from alienating the players when the discourse
is like this. I get that they're staying in the
news cycle, but do they ever think about the cost
of what this means for guys not feeling valued? And
maybe DAK then does say, you know what, I'm tired

(32:26):
of not having to prove myself every year for this organization.
I'm going to go elsewhere no matter what, Like, don't
they consider those consequences?

Speaker 10 (32:34):
No?

Speaker 6 (32:35):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 10 (32:37):
Billionaires? Do you think billionaires are thinking about what millionaires
thinking about? Probably just that it has never to this
point bit them, Like nobody's actually taking the steps of
being like, look, I'm done with you, because they're right, guys,
a lot of guys do. Still, I don't know why.
Uh see the appeal of the Cowboys and the popularity.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
In the brain outside money to get from.

Speaker 10 (33:00):
Yeah, yeah, there's there's money to be had in those worlds.
So I guess just because it's never actually gotten. The
only way that it gets them is in the fact
that they have to pay all of the money and
way more than they planned to and wanted to. That's
the only way that he gets them. And so no,
I don't I don't think that they even really concerned
because I feel like it's all part of the game

(33:21):
to them. And once CD had a long term deal
and it's signed, it's not like he's going to be
like but I hate Jerry Jones, Like they're gonna they're
gonna hug and be best.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Yeah, yeah, they're gonna get millions of dollars.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
You really have me rooting. Then that Dak goes somewhere
else and really sticks it to him and says, I
try to tell you the first one.

Speaker 10 (33:40):
Yeah, I want the Cowboys to win, but there is
a part of me just because and we shouldn't do this.
But you just see what so many other people say
and all the poisonous takes and bad idiots that exist
and a part of me wants Dak and CD to
not go to the Giant. The Giants to beat the

(34:00):
Cowboy every year, just so all fans and thought Dak
wasn't good and Jerry, who doesn't want to get deal
with done.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
Maximum Dallas radio fans are not going to be happy
with this.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Take half of them the same way.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Yeah, maximum chaos always.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
Yes, we love chaos absolutely sanity.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Okay, before we let you go, Caleb Williams made his
preseason debut today.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Will he live up to the hype in Chicago? Uh?

Speaker 10 (34:30):
You have to tell me or come tell me, Like
what is the hype? Do they think that they have
drafted hall of famer? Like, like, I know he's a
number one, we're all pick and he's incredibly No of course,
well then no, no, then that hype is impossible to
live up to. But Caleb's going to be I think
that he's going to be. Like, if you want to
be right about every quarterback drafted in the first round,

(34:53):
say they're all going to suck, he'll be right way
more often. But no, I think, like I think Caleb
Williams is good and I think that he'll be a
part of a Bear team that is actually good at
football for either starting this year or a year away.
I think that he's going to uh. I think he'll
be a top ten in a SOL quarterback within two
or three.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Okay, that's actually that's okay, God, that's looking up.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
Team top ten. QB.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Jeff, You're a gem. Thank you so much for joining us.
You were awesome.

Speaker 10 (35:23):
Okay, love you bye, helly, love you bye.

Speaker 2 (35:25):

with Carmen Vitally. We are broadcasting live from Attar dot
com studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending your
Saturday afternoon with Carmee and me. We are watching USA
take on France in the Gold Metal Game.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
USA up seventy to sixty one in the third, a minute.

Speaker 3 (36:01):
Left, So Katie just went up for a three and missed.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
Okay, is that who that was? I wasn't looking close enough,
but it's it's we're we're on the better half of
USA right now.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
One of the bigger leads they've had.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
Yeah, they were they were lame. They didn't get past
i think a three point lead until like two minutes
ago in the first half.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Again, okay, there we go seventy Anthony Edwards, man, I
love this.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
That was great.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Seventy two to sixty one USA. All right, guys, it
is time for the dues and don'ts in sports this week,
highlighting the du I.

Speaker 4 (36:37):
Love that putting a spotlight on the don't.

Speaker 1 (36:40):
The subject brings me no joy.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
That's insane.

Speaker 4 (36:44):
It's time for the dues and the don'ts in sports.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
All right.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
Speaking of Kevin Durant, my first one is a du
do troll.

Speaker 1 (36:53):
When you can.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
Back it up, Katie has had some elite trolling wall
playing at the Olympics on Twitter. Okay, after their semi
final win, he went on a just like rampage that
is beautiful. I'll read you, I'll read you a couple
of them to all you nugget fans. No one gives

(37:15):
a bleep who y'all lanes believe is the best player
in the league. Players got major respect for joke. We
don't worship him like y'all do, but most of you
are in all of his brilliance. Trolling you cornballs for
rooting against us is a part of the game.

Speaker 1 (37:29):
Deal with it one his second elite one.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
That's what y'all do, y'all clowns use players to push
these corny agendas. Y'all got this is a brotherhood, fam
You not part of it. It's a problem now because
social media got you clowns walking around with your chest
out like you mean something.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
You don't your takes don't matter.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Oh my good, And this isn't like what five am
his time?

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Like well, his first week came, yeah, like six hours
after the game, and like legitimately.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
So he was scrolling. He was scrolling.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
This man woke up and had time. I also think
that pettiness is something that I could meddle in if
it were Olympics.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Blooring you enjoy you enjoyed, Queen Peddies.

Speaker 3 (38:09):
This is our petty king. Katie has solidified himself with
the gold medal in pettiness, and I love him for it.
I love you for it. He's got time. It's everything
about it is jefs kids. Okay, uh mine is do
fangirl over your face. Yes, I don't know if you
saw earlier this week Don Staley, Yes, two time national.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Champion playing the Olympics right now.

Speaker 3 (38:33):
She's sitting I mean, she's sitting courts On with this guy.
Oh my gosh, she's phenomenal. But she posted a photo
where she met Tom Brady and she's hugging him, but
she's looking directly at the camera, and she captured it
with being like, please do not look in this man's
eyes ever. He's too beautiful. I don't know what to

(38:55):
do about it. It was she was all of us
over anybody who has has actually gotten the chance to
look into Tom Brady's face, and his crystal clear blue
eyes are.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
Just it's face.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
It's unnerving. Alex.

Speaker 1 (39:08):
Yeah, he's a statue. He was buying a chiseled statue stretch.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
And anytime I had to ask him a question, my
mind would just go completely blank and I had to
rely on like muscle memory to just like get something out.
It was like it was I literally I don't know
that I formed words. I couldn't tell you any question
I've actually asked him, because it's it's it's wild, and
I just really appreciated Don Day sharing that experience with
us with me.

Speaker 1 (39:29):
I love it. Yeah that was me I have heard. Yeah,
that was great.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
Okay, I got another do do keep these Olympics social
media trends going? I got two favorites here. One first
one is the hood Olympics. I don't know if you've
seen these Snoop Dogg posted a couple of them, and
now now my algorithm is showing them to me. Sure,
but they're normal people on the streets doing these insane tricks.
Like they had a guy in New York on like

(39:54):
one of those bars that's like the big like scaffolding,
doing crazy flips like he is a gymnat, like a
gymnast on this. And then there was another guy doing
park or stuff like running off Walt.

Speaker 1 (40:05):
It was incredible. And then the other trend is you
know where.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
They like post these hilarious videos and it was like,
this is why I didn't make the Olympic team, and
they're just they're just beautiful.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
I thought you were gonna say the one. I'm actually
looking at it right now Simone Biles where she's like
talking to someone and then her head snaps in the
other direction, and it's like this one I'm looking at
as like when I'm three drinks in and I hear
someone light a cigarette.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
That one actually has become one of the biggest memes
because I saw it. Also, I was like when we're
trying to leave a party and I hear my partner
crack open.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
And I'm like, no, yeah, we're not.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
You can take it. So so cute and she's so
gorgeous and just the way that her head just snaps.
I adore it, and I hope that it's a meme
for a very very long time.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
I'm the same. All right, guys, when we come back.

Speaker 2 (40:47):
Football is back, baby, and we've got your pre season roundup.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome to hour two
of Fox Sports Saturday. Alex Curry alongside Carmen Vitally. We
are broadcasting live from the Tark dot Com Studios in
Los Angeles. Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with

(41:08):
Carme and me. We are watching the last we're under
seven minutes of USA gold medal match against France.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
Wemby just made a free throw to bring it within ten.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
USA is up eighty to seventy right now. Oh, I mean,
you guys, it's it's close, six minutes left in the
fourth This what in between kkes You guys, if you
hear it's just like freak weird noises, we'll tell you why.
But it's definitely going to have to do with this U.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
The last break was to aunt.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Oh beautiful chef's kiss again. Like we talked about this
in the first hour. This feels like a video game.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
It's so fun.

Speaker 2 (41:49):
It is so special right now that we get to
see the greatest players of our time right now, I
mean between Lebron, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
I mean these are three guys that.

Speaker 11 (42:01):
Oh yeah, Jimmy Fallon, everyone's going insane dunk by Lebron
right now eighty two seventy two USA, I mean, absolutely insane.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
It is a magical experience to watch these three guys
play together and be cheering for all of them at
the same.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
US if we had been drinking beer.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
No, why not like beer right now? It's something yeah,
right after we have an event.

Speaker 3 (42:32):
Right afterelebrate maybe shamp.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
Definitely we'll be celebrating hopefully two massive gold medals day
today because the US Women's soccer team back on top.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Baby.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
I cried watching their gold win. There's so many comeback
stories on that team. Mouse Swanson in her one hundredth
cap game, scoring USA's game winning goal, their new head coach,
Emma Hayes, turning this team around in just ten games,
coming straight off of a Chelsea title, and now winning
Olympic gold for USA with only having two months to

(43:06):
prepare this team and turn it around to get to gold.
And then we have the greatest dynasty ever US women's
basketball with sixty straight Olympic wins, going for their historic
eighth straight gold medal in the final tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
So there's a lot of there's a lot of gold
on the line in these last few days of the Olympics.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Well, before we go any further, I need to give

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Okay, So.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
Quick update before we head into NFL preseason. USA eighty
two France, seventy four, four minutes and fifteen seconds left
in the fourth quarter. Lebron bringing it down the court
right now. But you guys, football, football is back. Games
kicked off on Thursday night and we've got games all weekend,

(44:33):
so many today. We have Raiders at Vikings happening now,
Packers at Browns Tonight, Bucks, Bengals, forty nine Ers, Titans.

Speaker 1 (44:44):
We've already had a lot of.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
Contract drama, holdouts, potential trades, guys playing for their spot.
So we're going to share who we're keeping our eyes on,
player or team this weekend. We're kind of throughout the preseason.
And this is really hard, you guys, because as we're doing.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
This, I'm like totally elsewhere.

Speaker 2 (45:06):
I'm like locked and that was an insane passage by
Katie to keep it in.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
Okay, can we do this?

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Yeah, we can do it with four minutes left, Okay,
four minutes left. Okay, when and if something big happens,
we're gonna word divert and get back.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
To this men's basketball game.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
US up eighty two, seventy six, three minutes and forty
six seconds to go.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (45:31):
I'm gonna start with the team in the NFL I
said months ago was a team I was kind of
most excited to see what was going to go down
in the quarterback position, and that's the Steelers. Yeah, and
the quarterback quote competition. Now, if you're an avid listener
to our show, you know, Carmen and I strongly disagree

(45:51):
on this topic, but I think there is a chance
that we see justin Field start for the Steelers this season. Now,
Chesterfield performance last night didn't do him any favors. Okay
played the first quarter five or six for sixty seven yards,
zero touchdowns, zero interception.

Speaker 1 (46:09):
He did have a one hundred and thirteen point.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Two passer rating, but he fumbled a couple of snaps,
sacked twice. Luckily, didn't lose possession on those, but only
got two rushing yards, So I the reason Justin got
the start. Russ has been out with a calf injury
more things. Obviously, Russ is still listed as QB one
on the depth chart. Right he's been out, He's gotten
some practice reps, but majority of the reps have been

(46:33):
going to fields, and that's why, most likely that's why
I missed the game yesterday. And my Tomlin has come
out and said it's still very much a competition, and
what happens in stadium is weighted heavier than what happens
in practice because it's more game like. So kind of
sounds like Tomlin is leaving the door open. But remember,

(46:54):
Steelers don't have any loyalty to either of these guys.
That's another reminder. Okay, Broncos are still paying Russell Wilson
thirty nine million dollars to play for the Steelers, and
Steelers are paying him a VET minimum a little over
a million dollars.

Speaker 1 (47:08):
Now, we all know Russ.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
He's got a Super Bowl, he has the experience, but
we haven't seen that Russ in a few years. We
also know that he doesn't have the locker room presence
or respect that's needed from the leader on a team.
And this comes from former teammates speaking out from both
the Seahawks and the Broncos.

Speaker 1 (47:27):
We do know that Justin Fields was beloved buy.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
His teammates in Chicago, and he has said he feels
comfortable in this offense and that he is competing every
single day for that starting spot. Now, do I think
Justin is going to start Game one? No, I don't,
but I do think this is something to keep your
eye on, and if things go south, he has a
chance to sneak in and take this job.

Speaker 3 (47:50):
Yeah, And I'm not pushing back against that necessarily. I
think that if there's an injury to Russell Wilson during
the season, obviously that Fields is his chances go up
to start. And then I do think that if things
go catastrophically wrong, that there is a chance that they
will try a spark in Justin Fields. I also think
that even if slash, when Russell Wilson gets the start,

(48:14):
he is the starting quarterback in Pittsburgh. With Justin Field's
incredible athletic ability, Yeah, you have the opportunity to bring
him in on certain packages, use him in game in
gadget plays. I know I'm getting, but Steph just Steff
doing stuff things. Eighty five seventy nine of the score,

(48:34):
two twenty two left in the game. I think, though,
that the Steelers are an incredibly stable organization. We know this.
They have not had a losing record under Mike Tomlin.
This is a team that is led by its defense.
That is the ground and pound run game, the blue collar, tough,

(48:54):
gritty football that Pittsburgh loves so much. There really isn't away,
I think, especially given what we saw last year in
this quarterback carousel of not good quarterbacks. By the way,
they still ended up being the playoffs, like, they still
ended up with a win. I don't know that there

(49:16):
is Yes, who is their coach, Yeah, I don't know
that there is something like even with Russell Wilson out
there if he is healthy, I don't see this going
catastrophically wrong because your defense can carry you to wins.
All you really need from that quarterback position is stability,
the safe option, a guy that doesn't stress the defense

(49:37):
more than he needs to. That is Russell Wilson. And
that has been my argument all along. Also, I don't
believe there are enough reps in preseason for Justin Fields
to win this outright.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Oh no, because he's not gonna win it out right.

Speaker 3 (49:50):
And also, now that we have one game under our belt,
we were already talking about how Justin Fields needed to
be relatively perfect to convince anyone otherwise, and we did
not see that yesterday. I think Justin Fields is an
incredible athlete. I want him to work because if he

(50:10):
could truly be a dual threat quarterback, he would be
a problem in this league. Yeah, but we have not
seen the quarterback side of this consistently out of Justin Fields.
I keep saying, I want to see the boring parts
of Justin Fields. I want to see him get into
a passing rhythm. I want to see him like read
the defense, get through his progressions, move the offense down

(50:32):
the field in a very mundane manner. I want to
see him not give the ball away. I want to
see him just get into some sort of rhythm that
it sustains, drives and doesn't go three and out or
result in a turnover or get sacked or any of
that kind of stuff. Because that is what we have
seen in the three years Alex that he has started

(50:55):
for the Chicago Bears. And I get that he was
not put in a good position when he was rookie.
I get that he had to switch the system in
his second year and be in another system last year. However,
the improvement was barely incremental, and it was with the
same coordinator in the same system, with relatively the same
pieces around him that were good enough. I'm not saying good,

(51:19):
but good enough for you to be able to make
something happen. And we did not see consistency out of
Justin Fields. We did not see him elevate the players
around him. He needs a very I also.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
Don't agree, like why did he have such a strong
hold on the locker room?

Speaker 1 (51:35):
Why was he so beloved.

Speaker 3 (51:36):
It's not hard to be a good teammate. Justin Fields
is a good teammate. It doesn't. But that doesn't like.

Speaker 1 (51:42):
To keep someone on the team and as your leader if.

Speaker 3 (51:46):
I think that got overblown too, because what are you
going to do? He's your quarterback at the time. Teammates
being good teammates are not going to throw their current
quarterback under the bus before a new guy gets there.
And since Justin Fields has exited Chica, are going Kayler
Williams has now come in. Players have come out and
talked about how, yeah, we love Justin, Justin's my guy,
but I also support whoever is my quarterback. And that

(52:10):
is what they were doing. Just because Justin Field is
a good teammate doesn't mean that that translates to the field.
And guess what, you know what makes a really good
teammate winning?

Speaker 2 (52:18):
Yep, USA is on top right now, you guys, we're
gonna we're gonna take a break to give a little
update USA up ninety three eighty four a minute eighteen
left in the forest.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Stuff has crazy eyes right now.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
It's this is what you want to see there now,
I know what you want to He has like the
mouthguard that he's just chewing on outside of his mouth.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
Okay, they just took him out.

Speaker 3 (52:40):
They took him out.

Speaker 1 (52:41):
He's getting a little rest in the last minute eighteen.

Speaker 3 (52:45):
Yeah, I don't know that. I don't what right up.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
Well nine listen, they've just had they've just yeah, France
taken it down down the court right now. Oh, almost
almost turnover, almost turnover by USI this.

Speaker 3 (52:59):
Is oh, oh, boots, a great defense by ad Okay
missed it?

Speaker 1 (53:08):
Oh it's okay, Okay, that's all right.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
Okay, sorry, we're not doing a very good job narrating
for this for you guys, but it's we're now under
a minute left.

Speaker 1 (53:16):
No, this is who Okay, give me yours. I know
we just went on went on justin well a feeling
who you're going to do.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
I was gonna say the team that I am most
looking forward to seeing and specifically the players callable. He
was in the Chicago Bears. Yeah, because you need to
see that this works.

Speaker 1 (53:33):
What did you see from him today?

Speaker 3 (53:35):
So this morning turn it on. He plays the first
two series, he had this outrageous I'll say it. Please
don't come for me. I'm not saying he's Patrick Mahomes,
but he had a Mahomes like throw explain to Cole
Comet where he rolled out in the backfield. He then
threw against his momentum, but he squared his shoulders first

(53:59):
while he's midair, literally off the ground, and the torque
he got on this football to drill it to Cole Comet.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
So it's like the shortstop throws we see from Patrick Mahon.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Yes, that we see from past baseball. It's funny because
Kayle Williams ever played baseball but he like the way
that he used his leverage and he could throw against
his momentum but still deliver it accurately. Was just oh, Steph,
Steph says, night night, yea, night night. This is this
is so chaotic right now, you guys, so beautiful. I

(54:29):
was so encouraged by that. But I will tell you
what I was more encouraged about when it comes to
oh okay, Tmusa just went up seconds left.

Speaker 1 (54:41):
It feels like it's happening. Just let it run out there.

Speaker 3 (54:43):
It feels like it's over.

Speaker 1 (54:44):
Let it.

Speaker 3 (54:46):
What I was most impressed about actually with Kayleb Williams, Like,
obviously there's these highlight throws and it's really great, but again,
I want to see the boring stuff from a quarterback
because I haven't seen that in a few years. In Chicago,
on the second play of the game, it was actually
penalty on the Bills, a holding penalty on the Bills.
But Caleb Williams gets flushed out of the pocket. Yeah,
he's scrambling around in the backfield. But the entire time

(55:09):
he's scrambling, he is keeping his eyes up looking for
other throwing lanes. He does not see one, and then
he throws the ball away. Those decisions that were encompassed
in that one singular play we're so encouraging to me
because he kept his poise, he made a good decision.
He also showed that he can look up while he's

(55:30):
scrambling to see if there is still a play to
be had. That is when you talk about guys that
can improvise, the ones that can do it the best
aren't the ones that just kind of tuck the ball
and run, although Caleb can do that too, he had
a thirteen yard rush. It's the ones that still look
for the play downfield and are still aware of themselves
in that way. So that was really encouraging to me.

(55:53):
I don't want to glean too much from preseason because
it's preseason.

Speaker 1 (55:55):
Okay, guys four three oh and you found you.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
I knew that was it was gonna happen. I was like, okay,
I was going to break as soon as as soon
as the game ended, but you got three seconds left,
it's over. I just seeing all of that wrapped up
in when you know he went four for seven, did
not have a touchdown, didn't have an interception, and had
one hundred and one some point three passer rating. I
believe it. Just it all looked clean.

Speaker 12 (56:23):
USA USRATSKA Men's basketball. Just one gold Ron James, Steph Curry,
Kevin your head, Joel, Drew Holiday, you go, we now
have Anthony had words.

Speaker 1 (56:40):
Are you ready for this?

Speaker 3 (56:41):
Gold medalists?

Speaker 2 (56:42):
Eight players to ever do this, to have won an
NBA title and a gold medal in the same year.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
Load not three, Jordan four, not five?

Speaker 6 (56:54):
Six s?

Speaker 2 (56:57):
Yes, hey, Jordan been Lebron, Kyrie, Drew Holliday now twice,
Chris Middleton, Tatum, and Derek White. Now those are your
eight players in the history of the games ever win
an NBA title and a gold medal in the same year.

Speaker 8 (57:16):
I I feel like we have to seer into our memories.
Those last three Steph Curry three point show four of
them were ridiculous. The last one was an arc to
the heaven like he don't understand how we kied.

Speaker 1 (57:30):
This is his like experience.

Speaker 8 (57:33):
France had a real chance to get back into this game,
and every time Steph came down the floor.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
No no, no, no, he's cooking them like here.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
Now this is fun chills. I love this.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
Wemby and Kad talking right now, I mean great job
By Wemby, Like.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
Yeah, and Webby has a head on him.

Speaker 1 (57:57):
This is Oh, I'm happy they are.

Speaker 10 (58:01):
Curry.

Speaker 3 (58:01):
It's so wild that this is on the Olympics, Like,
it's so wild to me that an incredible showed up.

Speaker 1 (58:07):
What an incredible experience again, you guys.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
Photos and on Kobe day eight, ten twenty four, his
two Laker jersey numbers and his USA jersey number. I
love it. I love all of this so bad. Congratulations.
US women's soccer got it done this morning. US men's
basketball got it done this afternoon, and I have a

(58:31):
feeling that the US women's basketball dynasty will hopefully get
it done tomorrow. We're going to take a quick break here,
but when we come back. How important is the head
coach quarterback relationship. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (58:45):
Hey, Sith Curry with the pot boy.

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Congrats the US men's basketball on their gold medal win.
Steph Curry, who doing what he does best, draining threes
in the last few minutes of the game, his first
Olympic experience and wins goal. That was That was a
chef's kiss, Chef Curry kiss of an ending of a

(59:09):
game and an Olympic gold medal run for Team USA.
Welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitali. We're broadcasting live from the Tarak dot
Com studios.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
You couldn't in Los Angeles, rips.

Speaker 2 (59:20):
That you have scripted that I know we've like we
keep talking about it, but just seeing like three of
the greatest players over the last decade, Lebron James, Steph Curry,
Kevin Durant just absolutely take over and dominate, and to
be able to as a country and as basketball fans

(59:41):
equally cheer for all of them at the same time
with such a unique and magical experience.

Speaker 3 (59:47):
I thought my friend Miles Simmons, he said, so this
is what it's like to be able to witness a
Steph Curry performance and actually be on the right side. Yeah, ye,
so often, like's like I get at Golden State, I
get while y'all are so annoying. I'm obsessed absolutely electroc he.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Is the most clutch player ever. And then just seeing
the connections between Jim and Lebron. It's a video game,
you guys. We just watched a real life video game
come to life. Argue all you want, dream team, This team,
this is some of the best basketball group of players

(01:00:23):
you will ever see.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
That we just saw. That was incredible, not that it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
Was really ever in question, but like Steph Curray just
solidified that he is the clutchest player oh NBA story,
Like he is mister Clutch, King of Clutch, whatever you
want to call him, Chef Cleutch.

Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
My cousin, Steph Curry, we have the same last name.
I'm very proud to share a last name with this man.
Oh do you know what do all the time every
show him on when I'm talking about him, I'm like, yeah,
my cousin, fifty percent of the time, people.

Speaker 1 (01:00:52):
Believe me and I'm like, excuse me, really, why not?

Speaker 6 (01:00:56):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
They look I'm like oh really.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
I'm like, yeah, I played along with a few people
for like years, years until they realize like, oh yeah, maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
I'm like now I'm like realizing, like we're not ever
going to see anything like that ever.

Speaker 6 (01:01:12):
Again.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
That was that was truly magical those last couple of minutes.
I want someone, I like where I need a highlight
like injected into my veins right now so we can
just kind of watch that as pump up.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
Yeah, I think that like that is going to be
like my go to, like if I need a pump
up to like go on a show or like whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
I'm just gonna be the last like two minutes yes.

Speaker 3 (01:01:32):
Of the gold medal game of the twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Oh thank you, thank you to all of this greatness.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
I'm like, I'm literally just watching all the reactions right now.
Steph getting interviewed, Steve Kerr getting interviewed.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Always talk about is that, Like it's not only is
it Steve Kerr, It's like Eric Spolstra hylu.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
Like they're all just the best of the best.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
The best of the best, coaches even are just like
I'm saying out.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
I'm still getting chills, like like every time we talk
about it, I'm getting covered in chills. But now let's
check in with Nick Cope and see what's trending.

Speaker 5 (01:02:37):
I don't know what's trending.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
Losing over here, Let's go.

Speaker 9 (01:02:43):
Here.

Speaker 5 (01:02:44):
Just take a listen back to.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Curry dancing off with Oh the double teas.

Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
That's a golden dagger.

Speaker 5 (01:02:56):
I love that golden dagger.

Speaker 1 (01:02:58):
Dagger beautiful.

Speaker 5 (01:03:00):
That was the call from NBC.

Speaker 9 (01:03:02):
Steph Curry eight threes in this gold medal game, all
twenty four of his points. How about in the semi
final and this game he won seventeen of twenty six
from the outside, better than fifty percent. So Steph Curry
is strapping the backpack on for the US as they
win their fifth straight Olympic gold. Kevin Durant the first
player to win four gold medals in men's Olympic basketball history.

Speaker 5 (01:03:26):
Good day for the US women's soccer.

Speaker 9 (01:03:28):
They climbed the mountain again, their first Olympic gold since
London in twenty twelve, fifth overall, as they beat Brazil
one to nothing. Valery Swanson had the decisive goal early
in the second half. Also had great stuff on the track,
as the US had three gold medals. Both the men's
and women's four by four hundred relayed teams took first
alsaid American Massai Russell win gold in the women's one

(01:03:51):
hundred meter hurdles by one to one hundredth of a second.
So the USA men's basketball team winning that game, the
US now died in gold medals with China.

Speaker 5 (01:04:03):
They each have thirty nine.

Speaker 9 (01:04:03):
Of course, you got women's basketball coming up tomorrow, so
a great opportunity for the US to end these Olympic games.

Speaker 5 (01:04:11):
They diving, they went eight for eight in diving.

Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
They're so good they clean it up.

Speaker 5 (01:04:18):
It's insane. Oh my god, you think you see a good.

Speaker 9 (01:04:20):
Dive, and then and then whoever from China goes and
it's like, that's what it's supposed.

Speaker 4 (01:04:25):
To look like.

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
I can't tell the difference usually, but whatever the Chinese
do in diving.

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
Zero slash yeah, yes zero.

Speaker 9 (01:04:34):
You also had a US gymnast, Jordan Chiles. She may
have to return her bronze medal for the floor exercise.
The Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that the
judging panel improperly granted an inquiry into Child's score that
moved her from fifth into third place, past a couple
of Romanian gymnasts, and so the court says that the

(01:04:56):
original finishing order that had Childs in fifth should be
rings dated. In the NFL, rookie quarterback Shade and Daniels
Caleb Williams made their preseason debuts. Daniels led the Commanders
on a touchdown drive. Just played the one drive. Two
drives for Caleb Williams through for ninety five yards, ran
for thirteen, no touchdowns, no interceptions there, JJ McCarthy. He's

(01:05:18):
playing right now through an interception early. He's six of
ten seventy seven yards. So keeping an eye on those
rookies in preseason back.

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
Why you have Sam.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
Darnald many Nick.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitalia. We are broadcasting live from the Tark
dot Com Studios in Los Angeles. But it is time
for our next guest. He is one of my favorite
TV partners that I had with the Angels. He's currently
on the Dodgers broadcast team. Please welcome hose Mota.

Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
How's that? Yeah? Oh so much better now that I'm
talking to you.

Speaker 6 (01:05:54):
Oh, that's so sweet of You're doing great. Great to'll
be back on with you and certainly and in the
middle of a Pennant race, which is absolutely what baseball
needs right now.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
I know, I know, but Hose, it's been a bit
of a rollercoaster for the Dodgers.

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
But let's start with a positive.

Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Because Freddy Freeman got a standing ovation on his first
game back after taking time off to be with his son.

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Kind of tell me what that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Moment was like for this team and how important it
is to have him back with this group.

Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
I mean, he is like the emotional leader. He's the
guy that posts every single day out if you know
how important it is to have somebody like that, and
you know, his message on the way he plays is
more obvious and more vibrant than what he says. Freddy
is just a guy that goes after and plays every
day and does it the right way, running the basis
with the at bats men and storm position, leading off

(01:06:44):
at inning, playing defense. I mean, he does it all,
but that moment, I, you know, pull back and just
go you know what, I have small children, I have
grandchildren now, and I can only I can't even imagine
what he and his family went through, considering that, you know,
this sport does require a lot from players. We had
just gotten to Houston and he had to fly back

(01:07:07):
the same day. He was a lineup and lineup changes
and Freddie had to fly back, and I mean they
got pretty serious. But thank god that everything worked out right.
I think he felt he also felt, Alex that he
was not alone throughout the whole time. The Dodgers done
a modelous job of supporting him, and then the fans
when he got here was absolutely spectacular.

Speaker 1 (01:07:23):
Yeah, I love that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
Well, the Dodgers in general have gained some ground in
the National League because of what May. Into June, they
were paying under five hundred baseball. Now they're two games
back from the Philadelphia Phillies. How do you see this
shaping up as we get into you know, the real
important part dog days of summer, the real important part
of the season.

Speaker 6 (01:07:45):
Well, this is it, man, There's what you play for.
I mean I always tell people that, all it was
so nice to have a you know, seven eight game
league when September and like start playing in for October.
But this is what Basils should be like. Yeah, I mean,
the urgency should be there every single day, and you
should not be spending you know, two at the week
sent who's going to be in the rotation andah, no, no, no,
you should be given the fans what they want, which

(01:08:06):
is you point you're steer in first place and you're
playing striving for more and keep those teams at bay. Right,
d Backs are the team that you have to worry
about the most. Why they won the league.

Speaker 10 (01:08:17):
Last year, the series.

Speaker 6 (01:08:20):
Yes, they went the World Series, and they know exactly
what to anticipate right now, even with guys that they
don't have, you know, pitching or on the field like
a Christian Walker. But man, the Potters know. It's like
the little brother down the street under the five saying
we've heard enough about you guys, and we're going to
make a statement. And the Potters have been playing so
good but right, yeah, and they played very but you know,

(01:08:44):
and they made some great additions too, as the Dodgers
did too. But the cool thing is that you watch
the standings want Dave Roberts even yesterday when I asked
off for the games, like, are you paying attention to
the score? He goes Kim, and I had, Yeah, it's real,
it's fondes what fans won. I think over all baseball,
if you think about teams that talk about winning and things,

(01:09:05):
teams that talk about competing, Well, this is why you
mentioned the work and teat because you want to be
able to at the very end to say we can
put it into the very end, a more talented team
or a hotter team beat. It's not certily the best team,
but I think it's great for baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
I also think this is good for the Dodgers because
they've been one of the best regular season teams over
the last decade, right, but we haven't seen that same
success carry over into the postseason besides the twenty twenty
World Series, because they have had such insane leads and
clinched a playoff spot, sometimes with three weeks left in
the regular season. And I don't know how you continue

(01:09:39):
to play with that fire baseball when you've already clinched
your way into the postseason. So do you see this
kind of helping the Dodgers having to have this fight
all the way to the end.

Speaker 6 (01:09:51):
Oh, I think it's great. I think it's great for everybody.
I mean, these are human beings that feed off sometimes
the comfort of saying hey, we're seven games up, or yeah,
I'm not saying that anybody leaves, you know, the foot
off the pedal. But there's a tendency sometimes you go, okay,
we're good.

Speaker 10 (01:10:05):
Now.

Speaker 6 (01:10:06):
You can't you can't look over your sol there and
go oh they're I mean they're right there. You've got
to look forward, take care of your own stuff.

Speaker 10 (01:10:12):
Alex.

Speaker 6 (01:10:12):
How many times that you and I here for Mike Sosha.
We don't care about who we play or against whom
or where. We care about the way we playing right now.
That's what the dogs need really is about playing better
member even with a payroll. And I know people are
cut up and I'm like, oh I should win by
twenty games. No, no, no, it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
Doesn't work that way.

Speaker 6 (01:10:30):
Still, human beings. You can't measure heart, but you can't
put anything in The computer tells you this team because
they pay so much money, and no, no, no, it
doesn't work out. We got to perform on the field.
A lot of injuries, that's for sure, like every team
has had. They've overcome us for many years. But as
you say, you know what, when you play September games
and you have a fight, you are three up, three

(01:10:50):
games and then you lose a couple that you have
one game and then it makes you better because there's
no other thought than to say, let's take care of
today and then tomorrow. But today we need to go
up to talent w and the urgency is good or
just see is good in baseball?

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
Yeah, and I mean more than what they're chasing that
number one spot in the NL. They have You mentioned
that the d Backs aren't aren't too far back. They're
what three games back from the Dodgers. But you have
the Padres as you mentioned, and the Brewers. Brewers have
won four straight. They're sitting one game back behind the Dodgers.
You have guys on your tail that aren't going to
really let you take your foot off the break.

Speaker 6 (01:11:25):
No, and I think you know it's starting yesterday. The
Dodgers of the next thirty five games, thirty aregains teams
that are they leading their division, leading the wild card
and the race for the wildcard, or just five games
from a spot. So think about that. The challenge for
the next thirty four games, it's going to be tremendous
because at the same time you get to find out about, Hey,

(01:11:46):
who do I have on my team? Who responsor the
suburburgency and pressure? Who plays the loosers baseball? What kind
of mentality are they taking into every single game? And
I mean, you valuate players and it doesn't matter if
I make a million dollar dollars or twenty million dollars
or seventy right, you evaluate him on a single day
basis on how they react to situations. And you're going

(01:12:08):
to find out a lot about players on how they react,
how they face adversity. Have they response to the pressure
being put on them? Right now, by these games we
would be playing for the next couple of months now.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
Hose we both got to watch the rise of sho
he Tani up close and personal during our time with
the Angels. What has been the biggest difference you've seen
from him since arriving here in LA with the Dodgers.

Speaker 6 (01:12:31):
It's joy. It's joy because that is quite obvious, sallying
twenty for something, yeah, day one, day one, and spring
training it was about, well this year we do no, no, no.
It was like, oh no, you're expected to win, and
even before Shohotan is the expectation where you're expected to win,
but show he has brought into that, He's been a
tremendous citizen. He's been a great teammate. He's adopted so

(01:12:53):
well to a lot of adversities that he faced early
this season when many people say, well, he's gonna flop
watch this, Nope, he didn't. Shoey Otani can put things
in their own compartment as best as anybody I've ever seen,
considering that he still has a little bit of a
culture barrier, the English barrier in the language, but he
goes out in place based on such joy that it's
fun to watch him. It's happening here like it happens

(01:13:15):
in Japan. War Now when Showy is hitting, there's like
dead silence.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
They've taken up the like Japanese culture, and everyone goes
quiet and respects it.

Speaker 6 (01:13:23):
That was why.

Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
Yes, I remember watching that for the WBC and I
like kind of checked my TV as like did it break?
Did something happen? Why am I not hearing anything? And
I texted you because you were out there covering it,
and I was like, yes.

Speaker 1 (01:13:35):
Is it quiet in the stadium? Is this like what's happening?

Speaker 10 (01:13:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:13:38):
Yeah? And then the other thing too, let's not hide
the fact, yes, shoe Atoni is not pitching his body
fee is way fresher. He continues to rehab pretty soon.
Actually he's going to be on the mound really for
the end of the season to take the batters and
see how it feels. But he continues to rehab. This
guy gets here early and he works his body in
ways that know the president player can. But let's not

(01:13:58):
get away from the fact that he's not being the
man to the pitch six or seven any and throw
out there, you know, one hundred and hundred and tent pitches.
That's been good for him. Now, next season, we hope
to see the a ton that you and I saw
with the Angels, which is one that you just can't
take your eyes up because he's gonna do something special
with the bat and the bad is or he can
do something very special with his arm out on the
mount too.

Speaker 1 (01:14:17):
We love to see it. Jose.

Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
I'm so happy that you get to continue to watch
his journey like you and Dino have like one of
the most unique situations where you've been a part of
his entire Emma.

Speaker 1 (01:14:28):
Yeah, I love that so much for both of.

Speaker 6 (01:14:31):
You guys, And as you know show, he has been
my Japanese teacher from day one. Because they have a
great friendship and show. He has been so great to
be around and sometimes to fund that looked like Multason.
You're here, so I.

Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
Love it so much. Jose, thank you so much for
joining to the show.

Speaker 2 (01:14:49):
We'll have to get you on a little more down
the line, but I have a great game tonight.

Speaker 6 (01:14:54):
Take care, guys, smit you but bye bye bye.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
All right, guys, We're gonna take one more break here,
but when we come back our feel good story of
the week. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. You're listening
to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with Carmen Vitally.
We are broadcasting live from the Tag dot Com studios
in Los Angeles, and we have both just been looking
at all of the highlight videos and photos of Team

(01:15:17):
USA just taking home gold. And I think one of
my favorite photos that I've seen is Steph Curry shooting
is three over Wemby, and Wemby literally looks like one
of the characters so much space out of space jam
like that those are space jam like where.

Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
Michael Jordan's arm just like.

Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
Keeps going, That's what it looks like, and little Steph
Curry behind him just draining threes.

Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
It's my favorite thing when they show players of different
heights and like these two play the same sport.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
It's insane.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
But no, that's an absolute It's that photo. And then
it's the pho. They really have it up right now.
It's that photo. And then it's the photo of Steph
going night night with like the crowd from the like
the angle of the crowd and then seeing stuff turn
to the crowd with his little night night. I like
an electric atmosphere and.

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
Like Steph Curry, like any.

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
King's doing this to France in their home country.

Speaker 1 (01:16:14):
I love everything about this so much.

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
Okay, so our feel good story of the Week segment,
you guys, we're gonna just we're gonna talk about our
favorite moments from the Olympics because it has been an
incredible couple of weeks watching the Olympics, waking up every
day watching the best athletes in the world. I am
so excited for the Olympics to come to la It's
gonna be mayhem out here, but like not the traffic, No,

(01:16:40):
not looking for that. But to close out our show
favorite moments, obviously we were just talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
That is now my favorite moment that.

Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
Was insane also to like watch it and talk about
it live while we were on the trying to talk
about football like anybody chaotic. That was full from us.
If you were listening to us at the top of
our two.

Speaker 3 (01:17:00):
One side of my brain for football, one side my
brain for.

Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
Beautiful cam you know what over.

Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Basketball, beautiful Cay.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
It was funny when Carmen was talking. I was glued
to the TV. When when Alex was talking and it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
Was like, hey, try not to make too big of
a reaction.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
I was like, okay, I'm ready, five four three, two okay, fine,
Like okay, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
That was That was beautiful. Okay. I'm going to say the.

Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
Simonbiles come back because she is officially the most decorated
gymnast of all time.

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
She walked with four medals this year.

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
She had some like iconic moments, not only like on
the floor beam and like the podium, like obviously I
don't want to talk about the whole Jordan situation yet
until it's all finalized, but having our first all black
podium and history was just and then the two of
them bowing.

Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
Yes yeah, taking that movement under Rebecca and the supportingge
Rebecca who is an incredible athlete, and which is kind
of what It's one of those things where you just
kind of have the unfortunate luck of having to compete
at the same time as someone like Simone Biles, the
greatest of all time, but then she still ends up
with an Olympic gold. I mean because Rebecca h five

(01:18:07):
or twenty five. Sorry, oh, she's older, so that she's similar,
So she's similars that same kind of like gymnastics if
you don't know, as a teenager sport, the girls are
not twenty yet and Simone is like, she's the she's
the oldest gold medalist in the all round. I think
since like nineteen sixties.

Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
It's been in the seven I think it was like seventies.

Speaker 3 (01:18:29):
It was.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
It was it's a long time mayhem okay uh. Snoop
Dogg America's sweetheart. Who would have thought in the nineties
that Snoop Dogg would come out and be our USA
mascot at the twenty twenty four Olympics.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
But he is him with Martha Stewart at the question.

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Event was it was he was also crip walking with
the horse. He was dancing, crip walking with the horse.
They also went out and had like a like a
Michelin star meal and she tried to get him to
eat snails and he was like, yeah, no, just through
it to the side. And she's trying to tell him
what everything is and he's like, well is it me?

Speaker 1 (01:19:02):
What is this?

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Like their friendship has to be one of the top
tier most random, beautiful friendships in.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Entertainment, because you know, it's actually like it's real, it's real, right.

Speaker 1 (01:19:12):
Yeah, they did their like Stony Cooking show.

Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:15):
I love it so much everything about it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
I got to get props to she carries. I was
going to say she was next, yes, like yesterday, especially
when when she took the baton and the four by
one hundred relay, the US was in third place. Yes,
and not only did she gain ground get to the gold,
but she had time to look back the photo for
one of the most iconic photos video sequences I've ever

(01:19:40):
seen in my entire life. Again, like the look on
her face of this absolute nonchalance of like yep, yep,
I'm ahead, and like she's like yep, I'm good, and
then crossing the finish line and then immediately bursting out
into a yell like it was one of the coolest
things I've ever seen in SLIW mintion and like in
real time. I don't even think I realized in real

(01:20:01):
time because I watched it, you know, in real time.
I don't think I realized she looked back in real
time because it was that quick.

Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
Yeah, I mean, now you needed the slow mo. I'm
not back.

Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
I'm better, I'm not back her nails and we just
saw one of her commercials. I think that's like the
theme of her her shoe deal that she has because
I was also Katie absolute domination when she won the
first woman in history to win the same individual event
at four street Olympics in the eight hundred meter free cell.

(01:20:29):
There were photos of her finishing with like nobody even close.

Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
That's my favorite Olympic tradition at this point is seeing
the photo of Katie Leadecki who looks like she's in
the pool.

Speaker 2 (01:20:38):
Alone, alone, and you're like, that doesn't happen in swimming.
It's only like fingers, like points of a second.

Speaker 3 (01:20:43):
It's just like track, it's just like whatever it's like
for a second.

Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
Thank you so much for spending your Saturday afternoon with us.
We'll See you next week, same time, same place. Let's
go USA women's basketball tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:20:57):
Nice
