For Fleet Weeks. I used to come to Angel games,
we'd have am there.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I love having a live in studio audience because obviously,
like I used to be in the field for ten years,
so I'd be doing my hits in front of like
tens of thousands of people.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
And now I'm like, oh, we got we got a
little audience. We have a little crowd here.

Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Yeah, See, my birthday is two days after New Year's
so nobody wants to do anything for my.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Birth that's actually like, you're not like super hungover right
after everyone everyone's broken hungover from.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
And they're not drinking. They're like, no, by the way, my.

Speaker 3 (02:02):

now that July third is going to be my birthday.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Oh, I love that's that's smart.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
All right, guys, we have some great guests on the
show for you today. We have NBA insider Mark Medina
joining us in thirty minutes to break down all things
NBA playoffs, because MAVs went off Lucas last.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Night with that epic comeback buzzer beater.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Luca was just everything and more that they had hoped
he would be Boston up to on ind Game three
tips off in a few hours. Here, we had Kaitlyn
Clark Intown picked up her first career win in LA
against the Sparks. All the stars came out to watch
her yesterday.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
That was fun.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Then we have Steelers insider Brooke Prior joining us an
hour two, we have producer Patrick with us today, Technical
producer Chris Burffett Kevin wired at the news dex guys,
and we are broadcasting live from the Tyrek dot Com studios.
Tirec dot Com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tyrec dot com the way tire buying

(03:11):
should be now. Another thing that happened this week is
we started to hear from all of our favorite NFL
superstars because OTAs are now in full swing, so we're
getting our first look at some new faces in new places,
guys coming back, and rookies getting ready to make their debuts.

(03:32):
So we're gonna do a little quarterback roundup check in
with some guys just how I'm kind of like knitting. Yeah,
this little segment, we'll check in, little check in, right,
and we're going to start with the number one overall pick,
Caleb Williams because he was weird.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, it was reported he had a little.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Rough outing in practice on Thursday, that he was inconsistent,
making some throws late, holding onto the ball a little
too long. But what I liked was to hear from
veteran safety Kevin who told the media, you know, it's
the defense's job to be tough on Caleb, and he
gave him some encouragement. And let's be honest, did anybody
think it was going to be easy for Caleb Williams
or any college athlete right out of the gates coming

(04:12):
into the NFL. No matter how good you are or
who you are, there are going to be growing pains
and there are going to be struggles. Plus, this is
a good thing. You want to face a little bit
of a challenge in practice so you're not completely blindsided
in your first couple of games. And this is the
first time he is facing an NFL defense, and that

(04:35):
is why practice is so important. You gotta get your
first out of the way in practice, get those jitters
whatever it is. I mean, it's a completely different game
and a completely different sized defense that you're going to
be facing from college into the pros. And remember, there's
a lot of pressure on Caleb Williams, not only being

(04:57):
the number one overall pick all the hype that he
is a generational talent, someone we haven't seen like that
maybe since like a Patrick Mahomes who was being compared to.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
But also the Bears have never had that guy at quarterback.
We talk about it a lot.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
The Bears have never had a quarterback throw over four
thousand yards or more than thirty passing touchdowns in a
single season. That can all change with Caleb Williams if
he gets the support he needs and if he has
situations like this in practice, this has to happen.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
I hate the storyline. I'm gonna be honest with.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
You, Alex, because it's I don't even want to call
it struggles. This is what is this, This is all
part of it.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
It is not only.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Was he out there for the first time with his
team in totality, but he wasn't even out there with
his entire team. You had multiple guys missing on offense.
I'm Gon Dunesay isn't out there right now. Keenan Allen
wasn't at that practice. You had multiple guys that were
being held out for whatever reason. Not to mention, the
defense you're going against has been together for the most
part for the last couple of years. Kevin Bayard is

(06:05):
not a Kevin Bayard is not a good example because.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
He just joined the team.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
But for the most part, a lot of those defensive
players have been there. They know the system. That's all
this comes down to right now, is learning the playbook.
That is what Kayler Williams is trying to do. That
is what the offense is trying to do. That's what
everybody on the offense is trying to do. First of all,
because Shane Waldron is new their offensive coordinator, so I
don't really want to hear anything about if Kayleb Williams

(06:31):
was missing some throws or if he's holding the ball
a little too long. At this stage, guys, it's may
we are.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
He's her first looks at OTAs. I will tell you, look, I.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Will tell you what I am encouraged by is that
our friend Courtny Cronin, who's been on the show. She's
the ESPN reporter for the Chicago Bears or covers the
Chicago Bears. She said that after every throw that either
didn't go the way they wanted it to or whatever,
Caleb went immediately over to Shane Waldron, his offensive coordinator,
and talked about it with him.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
How is you going to learn that you have to
make mistakes to learn.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Like And there's so many people and it's such a
it's such a delicate situation in Chicago right now because
there is a lot of pressure on Kayler Williams.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
He's mad.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Maddi Iberflus comes out, their head coach saying, no conversation.
He's the starter obviously. Yeah, but that means that you
know you're looking to be the quote unquote savior of
this franchise. Now you're set up very well. Part of
this support is going against a good defense, is being
surrounded by experience and teammates that have been in the

(07:38):
league for a while, an offensive coordinator that has a
track record of getting the most out of multiple quarterbacks.
For that matter, You just like it doesn't. I can't
express to Bears fans enough. This is what is supposed
to happen. This would this would be happening to literally
any quarterback, no matter how long they'd been in the league,

(08:00):
if they had a new coordinator, if they had new
pieces on offense, all.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
This other stuff.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
All you're trying to get down is the timing, the checks,
the different things on each different play. While you're trying
to learn the playbook, which is extensive, You're they're installing
everything right now because then when the season rolls around,
then that's when you start game planning and you start
picking out individual pieces from the playbook and honing in
on those for the week.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
That is not this. This is learning the entire thing,
which is a big most play. But you know what
this reminds me of. It reminds me of like the
number one top celebrity that everyone's obsessed with. Right, every
little thing that you do is going to be watched,
nit and picked, and someone's going to have an opinion
on it.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
So Caleb is that guy coming into the league this season.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Every little thing that he does is going to be watched,
It's going to be criticized.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
People are going to have opinions.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
So yeah, you're like one of your first practices, it's
not going to go easy. I don't think also of
this world. If you thought it was going to like
just click right away. There not how a team works.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
The other people need to understand too, is we are
using the term practice very loosely. Yes, they are not
in pads. No, they're in shorts and T shirts. You
are not allowed to hit anybody. You are not allowed
to get in anybody's face, You're not allowed to contest anything.
He's like, we have no idea what the offensive line
actually looks like, what the run game is going to
look like, any of that, because that is not being
tested right now. It is literally just the mental aspect

(09:27):
of going through the motions and learning the playbook. And
actually I wrote about it for Fox Sports because there
is a tremendous amount pressure on Kay look like we
keep saying and how OTAs are maybe the most important
for him of anybody at this point because he has
to get used to everything. But in there actually laid out, Yeah,
a schedule, a daily schedule from OTAs from an actual
team in the NFC, went out, asked a coaching friend

(09:50):
of mine, Hey, can you just send me your schedule? Yeah,
because they're all some variation of the same thing.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, and they're not not all a mandatory yet, right,
it's voluntary.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
That's why don't see these guys necessarily there and if
there's any drop of chance that there is a little bit,
slightest bit of injury, like literally that you're you're not
risking it right now.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Sit down.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
So if you want to see exactly what these guys
are doing, especially when it comes to the rookies, because
the rookies are doing more during this time than the
vets are. You have like the first half of the
day is set up for the entire team, and then
the second half of the day, like after lunch is
usually rookie programming. So you want to go and look
at that up, please do. It's on Fox sports dot com.
It'll give you I think it'll put your mind at

(10:34):
ease too, when you realize how much time these guys
are really spending on task with each other in these
rooms with their.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Coaches, building chemistry. It's not just what you see on
the field.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
It is so much more than that is in these
meeting rooms exactly building chemistry and getting to know their
players between the different meals, getting treatment in the training room,
and then these rookie programmings, And I've been a part
of a lot of the rookie programming working for a team.
It is literally like you can go and play dodgeball,
you can go and play laser tag, you go to
we went to an Air Force base uh in Tampa.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
We would go to Madilla every year.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
If you're on any kind of like sports team, like
in high school or college, you did that before the
season started. You go and do team building activities. You
got to come together and like to join.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Learning how to learning how to manage your finances.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Now that you have a like millions of dollars.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Teaching guys how to use direct deposit, which actually a
lot of these guys now with the NILS kind of
come in knowing how to do that. But before guys
weren't allowed to handle their own money, so there was
a lot of like lifestyle adjustments that needed to happen.
So I just they have so much on their plate.
It's designed this way to throw everything at them. I
just I don't want to call it struggles. I don't

(11:47):
want to even call it practice. Like I said, relax, guys,
just it's fine. This is exactly what's supposed to happen.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
It's a good it's good like it means people are
excited to see him, and we knew this was going
to happen.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
It's a long offseason. This is just the beginning.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
But now we're going to go to the opposite end
of the spectrum and someone who loves the media and
all the attention that he's getting, Aaron Rodgers is back,
you guys and really leaning into his villain era.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Listen to what he had to say the other day.

Speaker 5 (12:21):
We are must watch TV and that's pretty obvious. Everybody
knows that, whether you love me or hate me, people
want to see me play. They enjoy watching me play,
and we are a team to watch this year. Not
surprising as far as 's owen people. Yeah, that's fine. Whatever,
I don't care what anybody has to say about that.
That's great. You know for me, it was rough for

(12:43):
the league. I get it, me only playing a few
plays last year. That's going to be different this year.
And you know what happens when we play him back
this year with six great primetime games. You know what
are they going to say next year?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I mean all of the pressure is on Aaron Rodgers
this year, and he's welcoming it. I mean, he's a
lot to prove. You only played four snaps before snapping
his achilles last year, as you heard him say, they
have six primetime games. The Jets are favored in fourteen
of their seventeen games, which, like, you, guys, slow your role,

(13:18):
like take a beat. We need a bigger sample size
of Aaron Rodgers and the Jets than four snaps. He
hasn't even played an entire game there, Like, yeah, they
have some, they have pieces. If Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams
revamped O line, Sauce Gardner on defense, o'.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Say their entire defense is fantastic?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
What like, how realistic are these expectations? Fourteen of their
seventeen games, Oh, that would be one of the best,
one of the best teams in the league.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Yeah, with their favorite but like, here's the thing is,
that is exactly the expectation I have for the New
York Jets. Do you know what they gave up to
get Aaron Rodgers Super Bowl is the expectation for the
New York Jets right now? Like anything less than an
actual playoff run is going to be catastrophic, not even bad,
catastrophic for the New York Jets because of what they

(14:08):
gave up to get Rogers, because.

Speaker 1 (14:09):
Of what they pay him.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
And now because you already don't have you didn't have
him for a whole season, so now he didn't do anything.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
You didn't go out and get any sort of like
real backup scenario once he went down.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
No, not last year. They finally have Tyrod Taylor now.
But my thing with so Aaron Rodgers is totally right,
and that hurts coming out of my mouth. The other
thing that he also said in this.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Was I know, I was like, I can't tell that
took a lot.

Speaker 3 (14:35):
Right as someone who has actually had to cover him,
it's not yah, deep breath, deep breath, deep breathing. Nothing
is more infuriating to me than when Aaron Rodgers makes sense,
because he did that again later on in this interview
where he was like, yeah, I mean if I don't
do well, yeah, we're all getting fired.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
He's very he's very aware, and he's also very transparent
about all of that. Yeah. So, like I said, I
hate it when he makes sense.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
Yeah, it's true.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
It's all true though, and the expectation. But yeah, at
the same time, the other side of that is us.
The expectations are warranted because this is a Hall of Famer.
This is a guy that has won a Super Bowl.
This is a guy that has had multiple league MVPs.
This is a team that before Aaron Rodgers went down
last year, had the same expectations because they do have

(15:26):
so many good pieces.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
So I'm not here in any of the tempering whatever,
like it really is. They need to have a deep
playoff run, if not get to the super Bowl, otherwise
everyone's out of there. In East Rutherford, I don't.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Know much, but like, can you imagine, like I know,
when you say your favorite in fourteen or seventeen, I mean,
like what ya, Ravens won thirteen games last year and
that was like the most.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Well here's the thing too, The AFC East looks winnable.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
With the Bills, they didn't. They lost their one to
two receivers. They did a rookie receiver who like looks
like he's gonna fit the system.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
Great, have Josh Allen, so I'm not gonna I'm not
gonna chaunt it against you.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
But you still have Tua and Tyreek Hill with the Dolphins,
which they could be great. He's in a contract year
which we're going to dive into later, so he could
be playing for his contract and his job.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
But like again, if you look at the talent on
Miami versus the talent on the Jets, I'm I'm putting
that like right there, but prove it.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
The Jets like have the Is it the longest playoff
drought in sports? It is definitely in the NFL, but
I think it like crosses over to all four.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Major American sports. Yes, I think that's true. But again,
like I said, these were the expectations when Aaron Rodgers
got there. This is why they went and got Aaron Rodgers. Also,
Aaron Rodgers is capable if he wants to.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, but he's he's also coming off oh yeah, a
major injury. He's gonna be I think forty right when
the season starts.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
Like is it.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
I'm not different Aaron Rodgers the last time he was
healthy also wasn't a great end of the season.

Speaker 3 (17:04):
I'm not saying well, And we don't talk enough about
the fact that he had a thumb injury for most
of that year on his throwing hand, and like, well, because.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
He are you he who?

Speaker 3 (17:16):
And we all were just like, yeah, so that didn't
affect him. I'm like, stop, of course it didn't doing
hand anyway. But that's the thing is like I am
buying into the expectations while also being very realistic in
that things rarely go that way, as we saw last year.
I don't think it's gonna go well for the Jets,
but I'm just saying our expectations.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
I'm having zero expectations until I see at least one
full game with Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (17:41):
Four snaps is a sample size that we have.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Like you need to hold them to that standard. I
don't think it's Like again, I don't like it. I
don't think that the Jets are really going to end
up manifesting into that.

Speaker 6 (17:54):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
I'm also curious about, like because he was like very
much obviously in the media during his recovery. Do you
think he like hired a camera crew and was like
filming himself for his recovery. He's like getting a little
more in the media. Are we going to get like
a come back documentary from Rogers?

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Honestly, it kind.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Of feels like the way he's talking to the media
right now, we're must watch TV. Come Hank, like you're
gonna like you either. Love he's just but again, he's building,
he's building.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
He's being self aware.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Yeah, I'm sure that he has that because clearly he
has aspersions of getting into politics. You know, what I
want to know is the X factor to see if
this is gonna go. Well, what I want to know
whoin Rodgers is dating? I'm so serious, Alex. He takes
on the personality of whoever he's dating. Think about when
he was with Olivia mun he was on red carpets.
Whatever is Danica Patrick, He's like this ultimate competitor, YadA, YadA, YadA.

(18:44):
And then he was with like some hippie dippy like
which kind of girl, and he was showed up And
this is when I covered him, showed up to press
conferences in all black, like cloaks with like necklaces, and
his hair was all wild and greased back and whatever.
This man takes on the personality of anybody he's dating.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
On that note, we're gonna take a quick break here,
and when we come back, the chosen One had something
to celebrate last night. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
Welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitali. We are broadcasting live from the Tark
dot Com Studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
We're not Chicago. I'm back in Chicago.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
I'm ready for birthday beer. I'm ready for a shot
like this is. That's what this song makes me want
to do. I'm like, let's yeah, let's go out and
have a time.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
Anthem of very poor decisions. I love that.

Speaker 6 (20:27):
Every time I crack the rum, I just hear the
don don. I love this so much.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
All right, guys, it has been at ric season for
the w n b A. Obviously, they're getting record attendance,
record ratings, national TV games, private charters finally, and whether
people want to admit it or not, it's all because
obviously the hard work that everyone's done for years. But

(20:57):
the one that pushed it over the edge is Caitlyn Clark. Now,
it's been a rough start for Caitlin and the Fever,
but she finally picked up her first career win last
night in La a fun little matchup between the number
one and number two overall pick, Kaitlyn Clark and Cameron Brink.
I just want to remind everybody, you know, you have

(21:19):
to remember Caitlyn did not end up in the best situation.
Right Fever had been the worst team in the WNBA
the last two seasons, the first yeah, the first overall
pick the last two years. It's not going to change overnight.
So for those who are being extremely critical to Caitlin,
calm down. There's going to be growing pains anytime you

(21:40):
make a transition from college to the professionals. As we
were just talking about with Caleb Williams being the number
one overall pick in the NFL draft, who was quote
struggling in practice, It's going to take time. Whatever you're
doing going from college to the pros, it's going to
take time. But she's still leading all rookie in points

(22:00):
per game, and I love the support that she is
getting from other big names in basketball her Charles Barkley
standing up for her.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
We heard Lebron James kind of a problematic way, but
that's okay, I I know.

Speaker 3 (22:15):
I mean, listen, this all started with Diana Tarrossi saying,
like reality is coming for Kaitlin Clark, which is true.
That's the thing is, I think we are all underestimating
the level of competition of the WNBA. Like, yeah, Kaylyn
Clark is as good as we think she is. Yes,
as evidenced by the fact that after missing her first
seven threes against the Sparks, she comes back, she drains
a thirty three footer and then that starts like it

(22:38):
was right after the fever, kind of gained the lead,
widened the lead, and then sealed the lead with another
twenty eight foot shot.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Yeah. So like she is that girl, Yeah, she is
that woman.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
Yeah, but she's also going up against women that have
been doing this at a high level, at much higher
of a level than anybody has given them credit for.
And I think that that's where kind of some of this,
you know, the narrative that people are either jealous or
resentful of the fact that Kaitlyn Clark is kind of
getting the credit for all this. It's it just took
the one person.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
To galarizing player, is what it takes.

Speaker 3 (23:13):
Sometimes and for whatever reason, for whatever reason, whether it's
because Caitlin Clark shoots like Steph Curry or whatever.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
It's her threes. It's her magical three point shots. That's
what it is. Whatever it is, she's got it.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
I think joy went on a rant about this, our
friend Joyce Taylor on Speak this week, where whatever it is,
she has it. So she is the superstar. She's the
one that was chosen. Yes, And that's not like someone
in a back.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Room saying, oh, well, we're going to make sure that
this is the girl that gets out. It's h own.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
It was very organic, Yeah, and I want to acknowledge
that while also saying, yeah, this doesn't happen though if
there wasn't already a good product in place.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
So she may have gotten the.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
W over the hump, Yeah, but it wouldn't stay there
unless it was actually a good product. And that is
a testament to all of those that came before her,
came up with her.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
All of that. But you have to yeah, I mean it's.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
You have to recognize she's bringing in a completely new
audience to the W that wasn't there before. And it
was because of what she did in college that she
then was able to bring people over. I mean, what
the draft had three times as many viewers as their
championship game last year. I just Obviously, with any rookie

(24:33):
in any sport, veterans are going to be like, come on,
who do you think you are. That's just the nature
of sports, in men and women's sports.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
And that's great, totally normal, that's like that should be expected.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
But also like acknowledge the fact that she is the
one that got it over the hump, and that's okay,
be grateful for it because now you have like these
TV deals, brand deals, private charters, like this.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Is a good thing.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Yeah, and she finally got her first when last night.
But now let's check in with Kevin Wyatt and see
what's trending.

Speaker 9 (25:04):
NBA Playoffs tonight game three of the Eastern Conference Finals
between the Boston Celtics Indiana Pacers. But the big news
coming out a couple hours ago Tyrese Halliburton out for
tonight's game. He had injured his hamstring in the third
quarter of Game number two. He was listened as question
well they were hoping to get him out on the
court tonight, but according to both Shams and Woj, he

(25:25):
will not be able to suit up for Indiana tonight
and they're down in this series two games to none.
So let's look it tough right now for Indiana, and
Jonas Knots made a great point about how the Celtics
have had their path to the finals, part like the
Red Seed had Jimmy Butler out in the last round,
and of course now with Tyrese Haliburton out now at

(25:46):
the best players they've had to face in these playoffs
have not been on the court against the Celtics, So
they're in a position to take this series three to
nothing if they can get the win. Tonight tip off
set for eight thirty Eastern Time, Major League Baseball. We
have a game of extra innings Giants and Mets. San
Francisco has taken the lead in that top of the
tenth inning, there's one out, they have the bases loaded,

(26:07):
so a chance for San Francisco really is to blow
this game out wide open. Orioles in White Sox Baltimore
leaving this one of the top of the eighth inning
four to three, Twins on top of the Rangers five
to three. They're in the bottom of the eighth inning,
Braves and Pirates are scoreless. Nationals leading the Mariners one nothing.
They're in the top of the third eighting, Athletics and
Astros and is Oakland leading it to nothing in the second.

(26:29):
Royals with an early one nothing lead over the Rays
in the second and the Brewers Red Sox scoreless. They're
the top of the second inning. One game has gone final,
the Detroit Tigers getting both of their runs off of
this shot from Kerry Carpenter in the first inning, fly
ball Whitefield.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
This one's deep got a chance gone two out, two
run home run.

Speaker 7 (26:50):
For the second consecutive day. Tigers take out.

Speaker 9 (26:53):
Two nothing made in the first That was the Tigers
radio netwhere they're yeah. Even though it happened in the first,
it ended up being the game of winning Runsers would
hold on to win this one against Toronto two to one. Softball,
the women's college tournament going on right now. Tennessee and
Alabama tie that two in the game two of this
best of three Super Regional. Tennessee does lead this series

(27:13):
one nothing, so a win by the Balls puts them
into the College World Series. Alabama needs a win to
extend their season. The Missouri Tigers were able to keep
their season alive beating Duke three to one earlier today.
That ties up that best of three Super regional at
one game a piece and coming up at the top
of the hour Texas and Texas A and M. The
Aggie's actually the team with a one nothing lead despite

(27:34):
being the sixteen. See they got an upset over the
long Horns last night. So the Aggies can punch their
ticket into the Women's College World Series if they get
the win against the Longhorns this afternoon. And in the
NHL tonight Game two of the Western Conference Finals, Oilers
and Stars Edmonton leading this one one nothing after Connor
McDavid getting the double overtime game winning goal on Thursday night.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
Back to you guys, Thank you, Kevin.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. Am Alex Coury here
with Carmen Vitally. We are broadcasting live from the Tarik
dot Com studios in Los Angeles, and it is time
to bring in our first guest NBA insider who's been
covering the NBA since twenty ten. We had him on
the Herd yesterday, so please welcome Mark Medina to the show.

Speaker 10 (28:19):
And Mark, Hey, thanks j'all for having me. It's always
fun talking oops.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I know, I literally like he came to sit down
on the couch and I was like, will you come
on our show? Tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Yeah, I was like, stupid, this is great. All right,
let's talk about the game coming up tonight, because the
Celtics have had a fairly easy path in the East
and are already up to on the Pacers, and now
with Tyres Haliburton out for Game three, give me your
series prediction here.

Speaker 10 (28:48):
Yeah, it's wild. I think that this will end in
five games. I think Indiana can stay faces either splitting
tonight or Game four. But without Tyrs Salivert they have
no shot. And I would even with Tyres Halliburn, it
was going to be a long haul because even though
you know he's considered the best passer in the league,
they just don't have the same kind of depth that

(29:09):
the Celtics have. They've been able to get by even
without chrisos Porzingis, so when you look at these hamstring injuries,
they're always dicey, so I would be surprised he suits
up at all, and as a result, I think it's
gonna be a short series. But Boston does have a
tendency to let its guard down, so I think Indian
analyst has enough to feel one game and nothing more.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Yeah, I mean what they've had their last two series
went five games, just because of the fact that the
Celtics kind of like take a break and they're like,
oh right.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Yeah, we can defindih this out.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
I want to talk to you a little bit about
the fact that, I mean, going into this playoff bracket.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
We see the Celtic I mean we in the very beginning.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
The Celtics were like, oh yeah, they I don't know
any team that's gonna be able to stop them in
the East, And sure enough that's come to Fruition and
that g one against the Pacers. I feel like with
such a missed opportunity and it set the tone for
the rest of the series to the point where the
Boston Celtics are just going to cruise to the Eastern
Conference Finals like we all thought.

Speaker 10 (30:11):
Yeah, Carl, I think he made a really good point
because even though Indiana was in that game and you
could think, oh, it's a competitive series, I felt like
it was the equivalent of boxing, where they gave their
best bunchet in Land and now it took so much
opportunity or energy away from it, and a lot of
it was self inflicted wounds, which just you know, lake
game management, not being able to control the ball. I

(30:33):
don't understand Rick Carlisle is a great coach, but not failing,
you know, with the Pacers up three and allowing Joe
and Brown to tie it like that's basketball one oh one.
And so I'm with you. If the Pacers were going
to make this a series level, it's still a game,
it would have been in that instance, And since then,
it just seems like Boston's kicked up another dotch Indiana hasn't,

(30:55):
and now they don't have tyres Halburns though, it seems
like it's going to be even more challenging.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Is Jalen Brown this series MVP?

Speaker 10 (31:05):
I think so. I mean, he forced overtime and the
secure game one. If he missed that three, Indiana walks
off with a win. And I think when you're looking
at Jason Tatum, I think that he has improved this
season as far as his efficiency, his passing, the fact
that he's been a great fit with chrisos Perzingi's arrival.
But yeah, Jallen Brown has been playing an absolute high

(31:27):
level in this series. And I do think one of
it's partly because Jalleen Brown is a great player, but
it does seem like he has some extra energy based
off of the fact that he's not on that All
NBA team selection.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Oh yeah, he was.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Definitely playing with a chip on his shoulder in Game two. Now,
we've been talking about this power duo of Jason Tatum
and Jalen Brown being the next eight team, and this year,
as we're seeing it unfold, it's setting up Boston in
the perfect position to win. If they don't take home
the title this season, does it feel like they're window
was closing?

Speaker 10 (32:01):
Well, I don't think their windows closing, only because Jason
Tatum and Joe and Brown they're all, you know, max contracts.
They're stowing their prime. But I would say it would
be considered a failure. I mean, they've had this championship
window ever since Lebron James left the Eastern Conference in
twenty eighteen, and they went through the right of passage
that a lot of great teams, yeah go through where

(32:24):
they go deep in the playoffs, they experience heartache. You
think this will build towards something and so far it hasn't.
And so I don't think it would be drastic enough
for them to then conclude they got to blow up
the roster and start over. But it would be disappointing.
And I'm saying that thinking they're not going to win
the finals because they've had a relatively easier path in

(32:47):
the Eastern Conference because of those teams and their injuries.
But I think the West landscape is just a lot
more competitive this season. Whether it's Minnesota or Dallas that
winds up in the finals, I think they're going to
be the winner. And I thought the same thing if
it wound up being Denver or Oklahoma City. I think
all four of those teams have shown a lot more
consistency with living up to their potential than Boston has,

(33:10):
and I think at some point in the NBA Finals
will catch up to them.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
So you think it hurts them, the fact that they've
had such an easy path makes sense.

Speaker 10 (33:19):
I wouldn't say that only because I think it helps
that they're not as beat up. I mean, obviously we
have Worzingis's injury uncertainty, and that could be a blessing
in disguise, but I think the fact that they haven't
been challenged could come up to bite them because they've
shown some some troubling habits of playing with their food

(33:42):
a little bit. But look, I expect they'll elevate their game,
presuming they get to the finals. I just think Dallas
and Minnesota are just so good that it's.

Speaker 11 (33:51):
Not going to be enough.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Yeah, the West has been a gauntlet. I mean it's
an absolute war zone on that side, and we knew
that going in. Like I said, I think before the
finals or when the when the playoffs started, you just
realized that Boston had kind of a clearer path to
the finals than anybody in the West.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
But this series, in particular.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Between Minnesota and Dallas, I thought for sure Minnesota had
kind of the momentum. You see Aunt just absolutely killing it,
and then Luca comes in and he has been more clutch,
averaging thirty six and a half points in this series.
I mean, now all of a sudden, the tide seem
to have turned that like, Dallas just seems like they're

(34:30):
going to dominate the rest of the way.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
It is wild. Well, the one thing that has been
hard with these playoffs in the West is that each
game doesn't necessarily foreshadow what's happening in the next games.
Great all that with Denver and Minnesota, where there would
be wild pendulum swings on both sides. So I do
caution that I do think Minnesota can come back, but

(34:54):
I am with you Karma about Dallas. They mean to
be unstoppable. Luca bringing his game to another level, Irie
looking like he was in Cleveland with Lebron better supporting.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
All grown up, he deals closet game interviews. He seems
all grown up.

Speaker 10 (35:09):
All growing up, all mature, all doing the right things.
No issues that are keeping them not available. And so
I say that saying that I'm not surprised that they've
been able to have a firm lead over Minnesota, because
once they were gaining through the playoffs, I thought they're
the real deal. But I am surprised with what compared

(35:30):
to my preseason expectations as well as my pre playoff
expectations I thought they're stealing was they might lose the
Clippers or the first round or get to the second
round of that stat But once they clearly played at
an even higher level than Oklahoma City, that crystallized in
my mind that the MAVs are the real deal.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Oh yeah, Mark, thank you so much for joining us.
Love that I got you two days in a row.

Speaker 10 (35:55):
Thanks so much for having me. Always fun talking NBA.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Oh yeah, I enjoy the playoffs.

Speaker 10 (35:59):
Mark are you to take care?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
All right?

Speaker 2 (36:01):

broadcasting live from the Tyrock dot Com studios in Los Angeles.
Thank you for spending this rockin Saturday Arena Rock. I
love this. Keep it going. This is arena rocking the
vibes today. I'm here for all of us. But guys,
it is time for the dues and the domes this

(36:40):
week in sports.

Speaker 7 (36:42):
Highlighting the dues.

Speaker 1 (36:43):
I love that. Putting us spotlight on the don't. The
subject brings me no joy.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Don't that's insane.

Speaker 7 (36:50):
It's time for the dues and the dots and sports.

Speaker 2 (36:54):
All right, I'm gonna start with the do I think
we both might have this one?

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Do stand up for your city.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Minneapolis native and comedian John Savat bought the domain bring
You Ass following Anthony Edwards comments to Charles Barkley about
coming to Minnesota and the link redirects to the tourism
website for Minnesota. And then the Minnesota Governor also got
in on the dun, spelling out bring you Ass with
the start of each sentence in a recent state proclamation

(37:25):
naming Wednesday, May twenty twenty four.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Wolve's back day.

Speaker 10 (37:29):
There.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
There's also a clothing company that does a lot of
Minnesota Vikings gear.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
It's really sick.

Speaker 3 (37:34):
They also now have shirts and this really bad, like
a really awesome sweatshirt that says bring you ass, yeah
right across it. The amount that this takes though to
like jump on as someone who's been a part of
social media departments for teams and major organizations, like, there
are so many approvals that have to happen for this,
and like especially given that it's like something bringing you

(37:58):
ass like that has to go through so many approvals.
So shout out all of the people at like the
Minnesota Tourism Board, the Governor's office right now, all of
these people the Timberwolves.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
That was such so smart marketing, such so.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
Smart to jump to be able to jump on these
things right after they happened immediately right after they happened,
so like, props to them that was part of mine
was just like I had the same thing as you.
I just props to all the people involved in that
because I know that it takes a village and as
much as you want to jump on things like that,
there's so many times where you're like not allowed to tough,
and it's tough.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
So the shadow.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
It's also like Anthony Edwards and Charles Barkley for creating
this viral moment. Yes, watching it live, I was like, Oh,
that's that's gonna hit.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
I know, we keep talk about who's going to be
like the next superstar player in the NBA. I just
Aunt is just so primed for something like that because
his personality.

Speaker 1 (38:48):
It's so good. It's so good.

Speaker 3 (38:49):
And I don't know if you've seen him in Hustle
with Alex Sandler, like that was before I knew who
really he.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
Was, Like he's playing his character in real life's so good.
He's so good all right, real life.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
I have an that was actually under it, don't I
just don't underestimate Minnesota, Misso is a great place to guys,
like shout out Minnesota. I love going out to Minneapolis
City Bikings games per to cover Bikings games. All right,
I do, okay, do cheers to the home team because
the Washington Mystics are Now do you see this offering
a brunch backage? Yes, I did see this, that includes

(39:20):
bottomless mimosas before the game dangerous. As much as I
love this, and I do love this, I also know
that we as a collective, just like a sports fan collective,
can't have nice things. So like, as much as I
love the idea of going to brunch and having bottomless
mimosas and then watching a basketball game, that sounds phenomenal
to me, yes, but like it's only gonna take one

(39:42):
person that just like, bottomless mosas are so dangerous because
you just you have no concept.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
They have a fee now in La at bottomless mimosa
brunches if you vomit, Like, yeah, there's like a homeless
thing here in La.

Speaker 3 (39:55):
Because like it's just you never know, because some days
it could take five emotions, it's our day, juice, it
could just be like and then they just flow eight
or what haven't Oh it's but.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Obviously it's just done like a Momsta branch in a walk.
So obviously we work, we get.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
We work, we got. I didnt want a couple weeks,
so it was great. Yeah, but shout out the girlies
because if the girls the rains and they're gonna make
some fun things happen.

Speaker 1 (40:17):
I love that so much. Okay, do treat yourself.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
I think this is an older story that just got
brought to life.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
Tweet yourself. I love to treat yourself.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Days wemby Brooky Sensation was at an event where fans
were asking him questions, and one was asked, you're about
to make a lot of money. What's gonna be the
first thing you're gonna buy. His answer was the Millennium
Falcon Lego set for eight.

Speaker 1 (40:42):
So there's like a motor. Why it's like seven, We're
like eight?

Speaker 7 (40:50):
Fit me?

Speaker 1 (40:51):
But that was his first bag. Splurge.

Speaker 10 (40:53):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (40:53):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Tweet yourself, we love it all Right. When we come back,
who's getting paid and who's out the door?

Speaker 1 (40:58):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. I'd buy that for
a dollar.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Hey, welcome to hour two of Fox Sports Saturday. I'm
Alex Curry here with Carmen Vitali. We are broadcasting live
from the twer dot com studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with KRMEI and me.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
We're having a good day. We're having We're having a
great weekend. My birthday weekend has officially begun. I'm having
a PJ puppy.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Pizza party tonight with my sisters. I'm like, what do
you want to do? I'm like, what I do every night?
Am I turning thirty something?

Speaker 5 (41:34):
Or yeah?

Speaker 2 (41:37):
I mean give me pajamas, puppies, pizza, and that is
like my happy place. I also like my style is
kind of pajama chic, like matching sets about.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Comfort California in general, I feel like it's so casual,
you can go anywhere, you.

Speaker 1 (41:53):
Can do anything. Also, like fashion is confidence.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
If you're confident in what you're wearing, do whatever you want,
where whatever you want. I try to tell people that
all the time, but like, how do you know? I
was like, just be happy and confident in it. No
one's going to question anything that you're doing. Be crazy,
that's what we're.

Speaker 3 (42:11):
All Gigantic sweaters and then just like accessorizing all the time,
all the time at a necklace all I do immediately
all I.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
Do also, Happy Memorial Day weekend. A big thank you
to all those who've made the ultimate sacrifice to protect
our country and our freedom. We forever thank you and
your families. We are thankful not just this weekend, but
every single day for all of you. Now, we have
a great hour two lined up. We have Steelers insider
Brook Pryor joining us in about thirty minutes. You know,

(42:40):
I can't wait to get the inside scoop of that
locker room because my favorite just want to ask NFL
reality TV show that's happening this season is the Steelers
quarterback situation between Russ and Justin.

Speaker 1 (42:54):
So excited for that.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
In about thirty minutes, we are broadcasting live from the
tark dot com studios. Hi, We'll help you get there
an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers tirec dot com the
way tire buying should be. All right, Carmen, let's start
with some contract talk, all right, because we've got a

(43:17):
couple of big name quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Yeah, that need some deals that are lined up to
get paid.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
So we're gonna go through who will get a deal,
should they get a deal, Jordan Love, Dak Prescott, Tua. Yeah,
this is where we're going. Let's start in Green Bay
and break down the situation. You are very familiar with
this situation covering the NFC North. Jordan Love is coming

(43:43):
off of his first full season as a starting quarterback
and got Green Bay to the Divisional round. Now, he's
only started twenty games, all but one were last season,
so we don't have a huge sample size, but it
feels like Green Bay has found their guy for a
third time in a row.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
And I hate to break it to your Green Bay,
but you're gonna have to pay a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
And I know there are plenty of other NFL teams
out there that would kill to have this kind of
quarterback lock. Like, I'm in the belief if you have
the man, pay the man. It is the most important
position on the field. The price is only going to
go up with each contract that's getting signed right now,

(44:28):
So why not lock him in right now for a
deal rate before these other guys get paid get paid.
I when do you see a deal getting done? And
do you see a deal getting done? Oh no, there's
absolutely there's no question.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Yeah, and this was this is by design too, Like
Green Bay didn't luck into three quarterbacks. They this is
what has existed in Green Bay since, like the Vince
Lombardi years. This is their team building strategy. This is
how they do things. It's not super conducive to the
modern NFL, given that it requires a quarterback to sit
for multiple years, therefore wasting his rookie content quote unquote,

(45:01):
but this is I mean, this is what happened with
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (45:03):
He sat for three years.

Speaker 3 (45:04):
Comes in, he gets paid right after his first season
as a starter, which paled in comparison to Jordan Love's
first season as a starter. I mean, this guy threw
eighteen touchdowns against just one interception in his final eight
games once things started to click. Because don't forget it
wasn't just Jordan Love that needed to figure things out.
He was with all first and second year receivers. So

(45:25):
they needed to learn the routes they need to learn,
the timing they needed to learn Jordan and Jordan needed
to learn them, and Matt Laflour had to see them
get that.

Speaker 1 (45:34):
Experience was a little iffy in the beginning of the season.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
That's just Matt Lafloor, that's just Green Bay. They want
to temper expectations, not put enough pressure, not put all
the pressure on Jordan Love. But also Matt Lafloor needed
to see it before he opened up the playbook. And
that's what you saw the last part of the season.
And that's why things got so much better, is because
he finally trusted his guys after seeing them get some
reps together. Now, Jordan Love, they instead of picking up

(46:01):
their his fifth year option, they instead extended him for
two years to kind of give themselves a grace period
of all right, we need to be able to evaluate
Jordan not just this one year, but for two years.
Well you didn't need the two years now, so now
you can. Now you can pay him and I are
you hearing?

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Are you hearing things? Is it going to happen?

Speaker 3 (46:21):
Yes, there's a conversation going on. I think the two
sides are still pretty far apart, but that doesn't mean
anything because I do foresee a deal getting done before
the season, maybe even before training camp.

Speaker 1 (46:32):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (46:33):
Here's the thing that I think these two sides are
a little bit far on, and it's not if the.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Deal's getting done.

Speaker 3 (46:39):
It's not that the numbers starting with a five because
that's the going rate for a franchise quarterback these days.
It's the term, it's the length of the contract. Because
if you look back at the contract that Aaron Rodgers
signed after his first year as starter, Yeah, his first
big boy contract with the Green Bay Packers, it was
six years.

Speaker 1 (46:57):
That's cute. His big boy, big boy, big boy contract.
It was a six year deal.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
And if I'm Jordan Love, especially with the quarterback market
and how inflated it is and it keeps going up.

Speaker 1 (47:12):
I'm not signing for six years. I want to hit
the market again in three to four years. No one's
doing the Patrick Mahomes deal, like the right, Hey, I
am on such a dude, And it looks exactly.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
It looks like a discount now even though like it's backloaded,
there's like there's you have to look at the money and.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
Basically how it's structured. Recently, I have to.

Speaker 3 (47:32):
Restructure these guys and all that other stuff. But like
that's why this Jared Goff deal was so interesting to
me because again, Jared Goff's older than Jordan Love is.
It was a four year deal. If I'm Jordan Love
twenty four years old, I'm not signing a six year
deal like Aaron Rodgers did, and waiting till my age
thirty season to go back on the market and get
a new deal. No, I want to hit the market

(47:54):
again at twenty eight and say hey, I can reset
this market again and I can get.

Speaker 1 (47:59):
Paid even or so on yourself.

Speaker 3 (48:02):
Yes, he's done that the whole way because he had
really no incentive assign that to your extension and other
than the fact that he knew he could show them
he was the quarterback of the future, and he did so.
Now you want to be able to reset the market
earlier because you are planning on being in Green Bay
for as long as your two predecessors were. That's what

(48:22):
Green Bay is thinking. That's what Jordan Love is thinking.
There is not any sort of ifs when it comes
to this. I think right now, though the sides are
trying to agree on the term, the length of the contract,
the mount of guarantees, don't I honestly don't think that
the contract average is really up for debate. I think
you make him at least fifty million dollars. I know

(48:42):
the sample size is small, Yeah, but the way that
he has grown up with this team and the fact
that he took the youngest team in the league to
the divisional round of the playoffs, and to get there,
stomped the Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
He who had won sixteen games at home up.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Until that point.

Speaker 1 (48:58):
Also when his first full season.

Speaker 3 (49:00):
That's what I'm saying, like, Yeah, this guy is not
even close to his ceiling. And this was the plan
all along. So the Green Bay will stick to the plan.
I just wonder for how long it's going to be.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Okay, in the contract terms, you mentioned the Cowboys sure did.
So let's talk about a little bit.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
Of a different situation Dak Prescott, and the question is
are the Cowboys going to give Dak another big deal?
I know you've got in a spicy conversation, and I
sure did. On Speak this week. I was watching, I
was like, who, Yeah, this is hot, But let's break
it down real quick. Dak has been a great regular

(49:37):
season player, he was in the MVP conversation last year,
but he doesn't have the best playoff record.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
He is two to five in the postseason. He's never
gotten past the divisional round.

Speaker 2 (49:50):
And Dak made a very interesting comment to the media
this week when he was talking about contracts, and he said,
I don't play for money. I mean, come on, we
all do what we do in this industry for money.
As much as you want to say money doesn't matter,
you're gonna go to a place that is going to

(50:12):
have the best deal for you. It's called a job
for a reason. You could love your job every second
of the day, but you're not gonna do it. You're
not doing it for free and at like a discounted rate,
especially putting your body on the line like this now.
I do think Dak holds a lot of the cards
this season. He's a free agent at the end of
the season. They cannot franchise tag him. He has a

(50:33):
no trade clause in his contract. Plus, there are plenty
of other teams that will offer Dak more than he
is worth because he is still a good quarterback, maybe
not top tier, but he's gonna win you games.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
I just which for the Cowboys, they should be super
Bowl or bust. Wow, that's that's the goal.

Speaker 2 (51:02):
Yeah, that's the goal, while other teams might just want
to get to the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (51:07):
Where's Dak playing next year?

Speaker 3 (51:09):
I hope it's not for the Cowboys because I want
to see Dak shed this narrative that he's not good
enough to make a postseason run. First of all, this
what got me in trouble on speak. There is a
reason that Dak is good in the regular season and
then not in the postseason. Now, granted, his last postseason
outing against those Green Bay Packers that I talked about

(51:29):
was probably his worst playoff game.

Speaker 1 (51:32):
Yeah, but.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
All the Cowboys have done in the last few years
is subtract from Dak Prescott's arsenal.

Speaker 1 (51:41):
This was the argument I got.

Speaker 3 (51:42):
Into with Shady Boy and and Joy Taylor for that matter, unspeak,
was that you have eight or nine all pros on
this roster. Sure, a lot of those guys are on defense,
a couple of those guys are on the offensive line,
and then you're and with the offensive line, you're only
as good as your weakest link. So I mean to
all pros matter, but regardless, Also, Dak Prescott is one

(52:06):
of those all pros.

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Yeah, who of his skill.

Speaker 3 (52:11):
Players, of his weapons, who is around him that can
help him in the postseason when the competition gets that
much stiffer, and the defenses get that much better and
more sophisticated, and the game planning gets that much more complicated,
it is Dak Prescott and Ceede Lamb. You can make
an argument for Jake Ferguson. He's a great tight end.
I totally get it. But if you're talking about what

(52:33):
you need in the postseason to go on a run,
that is not enough weapons. And two years ago they
got rid of Mari Cooper before that, or like last
year they get rid of Now this pass offseason they
get rid of Tyron Smith, who was one of those
All pros as his left tackle. Dak Prescott now is
scheduled to have a rookie as his left tackle this year.
What have the Cowboys done to really help Dak over

(52:56):
the hump? I just need you to exhaust every option
before you blame this all on Dak Prescott. And that's
my biggest thing, because if Dak Prescott hits the open
market in twenty twenty five, he will get.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
He will get.

Speaker 3 (53:10):
His contract will start with a six, and it will
be yes, that's not that's not hyperbole, that is not
an exaggeration.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
His contract will start with a six. There will be
a bidding war for Dak Prescott.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
It definitely will be a bidding war, and I that's
what we're headed towards. Yeah, Cowboys will chargy.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
I've just got fifty three and a half million a year. Yeah,
Dak Prescott has a And also, this.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
Is my other thing about the playoff records. Who are
the all of these quarterbacks that have great playoff records?
Lamar Jackson two and four and he was League MVP.
And I'm not ignoring, I'm not. I'm not arguing with that.
He's a phenomenal play.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
But it's also hotsh Allan five and five.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
All of these elite quarterbacks we talk about, their playoff
records aren't anything impressive. It's Patrick Mahomes and Patrick Mahomes only. Yeah,
but guess what, there's one Patrick Mahomes. And just because
you're not Patrick Mahomes doesn't mean you don't deserve to
get So Dak Prescott is going.

Speaker 1 (54:03):
To get paid. But they already paid him. So that's
why I don't know if the Cowboys, I don't know.
I don't know that Cowboys are gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (54:09):
I don't like they might have a new head coach,
like they might have a whole new look and setup.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
The thing is, the Cowboys could also offer to do it,
but Dak doesn't have to take it. No, Dak can
be like, all right, you know what Stafford looks like,
he's retiring. I like, I like what's going on in
Los Angeles?

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Do they want me? If they want me, I want them.

Speaker 3 (54:31):
Dak can evaluate every single scenario, okay, and he can
choose where he wants to go. Yeah, And like I said,
I hope Dak Prescott goes somewhere else, and I hope
that he then is given the tools he needs and
he goes out and does really well and goes on
postseason runs. And we can dispel this narrative that is
all Dak Prescott's fault because the Cowboys had Tony Romo

(54:54):
and then Dak Prescott and didn't have playoff success with
either of those guys. At some point we have to
think that there's something else going on than the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
But it's also partially the quarterback.

Speaker 3 (55:06):
Dak is not without blaming. Dak is not without playing.
My issue comes in when you put all of the
blame one back.

Speaker 1 (55:11):
I just don't.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
I can't trust the Cowboys in the playoffs at all
at all anymore.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
That's all.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
You can't fool me, fool me like what twenty years. No,
it's not happening like it's not it's not happening totally.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
I'm totally with you and I if you look at
that playoff game though too against the Green Bay Packers. Yeah,
the defense, what was the defense doing? This was supposed
to be one of the best defenses in the league
in Dallas. Yeah, they could not stop Aaron Jones and
the run game.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
No, they didn't.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
They did not show up. Okay, let's get to one
more to Yeah, he's coming off his best season in
the NFL. Under Mike McDaniel, who believes in him. I
would think he wants him to stay in Miami. They
didn't draft another quarterback. He had a career high in
passing yards, passing, touchdowns, and completion person He led the

(56:01):
league in passing yards last season.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
Does help that he had Tyreek Hill.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
But what's the situation He's gonna breathe a free agent
next season if they don't sign him or franchise tag him.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
Is he worth fifty plus million dollars a year?

Speaker 2 (56:18):
Because that's where everything's starting right now, Jared Goff, As
you just mentioned fifty three million year Joe Burrows at
fifty five million a year, what do you think Wi
happened with Tua.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
I think you pay him to.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
I think it's one of those scenarios where yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (56:32):
Shorter term deal.

Speaker 7 (56:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:34):
I the thing is, like, we need to get.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
This notion of only the top five quarterbacks in the league.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
Get well, no, every quarterback is gonna get paid. It's
the most important position on the rice tags only going up.
And you need a guy, and you need that guy.
You have the guy that works in this system. It's worked,
it has worked, and like, yes, can you argue that
may not be you know, any better is somewhere else.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
That's fine, but right also runs concussion.

Speaker 3 (57:01):
Like, yeah, he's got, he's got, He's had some issues hopefully.
I mean he's been doing I think it's jiu jitsu.
I forget which Martin learning how to follow, doing all
that kind of stuff. No one was helped more though,
by Jared Goff's contract in Toua, because they have very
similar resumes him and Jared Goff to and Jared.

Speaker 1 (57:17):
Goff so girls been to a super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (57:19):
He has, like I said, similar, it's not and I mean,
what did Jared Goff do in that Super Bowl? I'm
just I'm just saying exactly.

Speaker 1 (57:28):
What did anybody do in that Super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (57:29):
Well that was like that was a defensive But but
the point stands that they are system quarterbacks. Yeah, and uh,
but Jared Goff got paid because his system works with
him to a system works with him, So I absolutely, again,

(57:49):
this is just what the going rate is for a quarterback.
And again, Miami isn't going to be bad enough to
be picking barring like an injury by two eggs, and
they're not gonna be bad enough to be picking in
the top ten to get a new quarterback now.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
And then you got Aaron Rodgers back with the Jets
in the division, you got Josh Allen, who I mean
he lost his two big, big weapons with now he's
got a rookie as his wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (58:16):
That's interest.

Speaker 3 (58:17):
But that goes to say that the Miami Dolphins could finish,
are going to finish somewhere mid range if not better. Yeah,
And you're at that point you're not picking a new
quarterback next year, so you either stick with you or
you try to go to the free agent market, Like,
who are you going to get to fit into Miami?
That's going to be a market improvement from Tua, That's
my question. Like good quarterback play is so hard to

(58:39):
come by. That's why we saw Kirk Cousins get paid
one hundred and eighty million dollars with one hundred of it. Garrett,
I'm of coming over Achilles injury at the age of
thirty six years old.

Speaker 1 (58:47):
Insane. This it's it's not easy to.

Speaker 3 (58:50):
Just snap your fingers and put someone else in there.
So and Mike ey Daniel is getting get paid. What
are the all three gonna get paid?

Speaker 9 (58:56):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (58:56):
Yeah, I think they're all gonna get paid.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Yeah, you get a contract, and you can get a
contract to get me a contract that we'll.

Speaker 1 (59:04):
Take a contract.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
All right, We're gonna take a quick break here. But
when we come back, Cam Bustin finally get it done.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
You're listening to.

Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
The music gets blasted louder in our ears that you
can't hear if you're listening the podcast.

Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
All right, let's talk a little NBA playoffs because it
has been fun. I mean last night's Western Conference Final
MAVs with the buzzer beater comeback win now up two
games in the series. We got the Eastern Conference tonight,

(01:00:27):
Game three, Boston up two on the Pacers.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
Tyrese Halliburn not going.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
To be in Game three tonight, which just kind of
completely resets the tone I think for this entire series.
Like after Game one, I was like, oh, Pacers, game
to play, Like maybe there's an opportunity that they can
steal a couple of games here. But after after losing
your your best player to a hamstring injury, something that

(01:00:56):
he dealt with during the season that he missed ten
games for. This should be a very winnable series for Boston.
So is this finally Boston's year? They had the best
record in the NBA this season, only team to win
at least sixty games, They've had the easiest path to

(01:01:16):
the finals.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
Does it help? Does it hurt them? It's it's it's hard.

Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
I mean this year, it's it's setting up for them
to be able to have that chance to win. We've
been talking about this power due of Jason Tatum and
Jalen Brown being that next it team to win it all.
I mean it was Jalen Brown who took over Game two,
scoring ten points, doing their twenty zero Boston run. Like
Boston came out controlled most of that game. Finally a

(01:01:47):
lot of thanks to Jalen Brown. I don't know this,
it's just such a different series now. It's such a
different series now that Tyre's Halliburn isn't going to be playing.

Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Yeah, I mean, is it the because we saw that?

Speaker 3 (01:02:01):
Like I just I think that that Game one when
I got away from Indiana, that was it, Like that
was that set the tone for everything They're down zero
and two. Now, I just I thought that that was
the game to set the tone, and it did, And
now I just don't see Boston really being challenged.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
But this is a different Boston team than we've seen the.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Last couple of years because two years ago they lost
in the finals to the Warriors. Yeah, last year lost
to Miami in the Eastern Conference Finals, but they had
two seven game series to get there. This year they've
only had five game series. They if they sweep the Pacers,
they could conceivably get to the finals after playing only
fourteen games.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
So Okay, they're going to have a long rest.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
And they're gonna have a long rest, and they're going
to not have all the tread on the tires that
anyone who comes out of the East or the West
rather is gonna have.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
I mean, we talked about what a gauntlet and a
war zone the West is.

Speaker 3 (01:02:51):
I mean, yes, they haven't been challenged, but at the
same time, they've been dominant all season. They had the
one seed and now the way Western Conference finals too
is between the.

Speaker 1 (01:03:01):
Five and the three seed. So like either way, they're
the more dominant team. But the West is stronger than
the East.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
Oh, absolutely, we're going to get to some predictions at
the end of the show, so we're not going to
give those.

Speaker 1 (01:03:13):
No, but they're way here.

Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
But I mean Boston had the best record in the East,
yeah by seven games.

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
Yeah, only team to at least sixty games. So I
just it's a lot of pressure.

Speaker 3 (01:03:25):
But also like this is this, this is this is
the team to do it, because even before the playoffs started,
we talked about how easy the field was in the
East and how direct of a path the Celtics had.
We didn't know how direct given the injuries, but the
injuries just made it that much easier. And honestly, like
if they, like Mark Medina was saying, if they don't
play with their food when it comes to the Indiana Pacers,

(01:03:47):
they could conceivably sweep these guys.

Speaker 1 (01:03:49):
They could cake walk them.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
I also think like Jason Tatum needs to really show up. Yeah,
and he's three in Game one. You saw it happen
at the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
It took him a while to and.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
Then you have Jalen Brown forces overtime.

Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
It was it was a Jalen Brown show. It was too.

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
But in terms of Jason Tatum, I mean, he has
built up to be a big start in this league, right,
first team all NBA. I feel like he needs a
title to kind of get to that next level and
to be the next face of the NBA.

Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
All Right, but now let's check in with Kevin Wyre
and see what's trending.

Speaker 9 (01:04:22):
Yeah, Tyrese Haliburton out for tonight's game against the Boston Celtics,
Game three of the Eastern Conference Finals set to tip
off at eight thirty Eastern time. But the Pacers without
Tyrese Halliburton tonight. He was injured in Game two during
the third quarter. He injured his hamstring and he was
listening as question well up until a couple hours ago,
so they were hoping that he would be able to

(01:04:43):
suit up for the Pacers tonight. But he's not gonna
be able to go, and facing a two to nothing deficit,
the task to coming back in the series is much
harder now for Indiana and for the Boston Celtics. I mean,
you talk about an easy path to the finals. They
face the Heat without Jimmy Butler, they face the Cavaliers
that at times in that series is missing Donovan Mitchell,
and now facing the Indiana Pacers without Tyre's Halliburton. Yeah,

(01:05:04):
you could argue it's their year, but let's see them
being a Western Conference team first up, before you have
me convinced anyway. In the in Major League Baseball, we
have several day games going on right now. Actually a
lot of games have gone final. The first game of
the day, Tigers in Blue Jays Garry Carpenter a first
run home run that would end up being the game
winner as they hold off Toronto two to one, Giants

(01:05:24):
with five runs in the top of the tenth to
come back and beat the Mets seven to two.

Speaker 1 (01:05:28):
Orioles over the White Sox five to three.

Speaker 9 (01:05:30):
The Twins have a come from behind victory as they
beat the Rangers five to three. Some games going on
right now as we speak, Pirates leading the Braves three
to one. They're in the top of the fifth inning.
Mariners and Nationals are tied at one in the six
The Athletics now leave the Astros two to one. They're
in the sixth inning. Raisin Worlds are tied at two.
Brewers on top of the Right Sox five fifth inning.

(01:05:52):
Over at fen Waite are college softball the NCAA Tournament Tennessee,
Alabama tied at two. They're an extra innings hitting the
the the eighth in Knoxville, Tennessee, leads this best of
three series, won nothing, so the Crimson tide up to
bat hoping to keep their series alive. Sixteenth seeded Texas
A and M leaded top seeding Texas to nothing. They're

(01:06:14):
in the bottom of the second inning and the Aggie's
getting the upset last night, so all they need to
do is when this game hold off the Longbourns and
they punched their ticket into the Women's College World Series.
Earlier today, seven Steed of Missouri extends their season against
number ten Duke, beating the Blue Devils three to one.
Baylor over Florida five to two, that series tied at
one game apiece. Coming up in about an hour, it'll

(01:06:36):
be fifth seed at Oklahoma State and Arizona the Cowboys
where the Pokes on top of this one won nothing
as Arizona trying to even that series. And in the NHL,
we got a playoff game tonight, Oilers and Stars. That
one set to get going at eight o'clock Eastern time.
The Oilers, where they won nothing, lead in that series
that got it on a double overtime goal by Connor

(01:06:56):
McDavid in Game number one for the win. So Dallas
trying to even this one up at one game a piece.
Back to you guys, Thank you, Kevin. You're listening to
Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with Carmen Vitali.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
We are broadcasting live from Attier dot Com Studios in
Los Angeles and it is time to bring in our
next guest.

Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
Please welcome Steelers reporter Brook Pryor.

Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
Hey, guys, it is raining in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 11 (01:07:20):
It is very Pittsburgh weather, So tark you out and
what I hope is sunny?

Speaker 7 (01:07:25):
Oh it is?

Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
Oh it is actually sorry Brook, beautiful out here.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
But Brooke, what an off season for the Steelers bringing
in Russell Wilson and Justin Fields. Most expect us to
get that starting job in week one, but bring us
into that building and in that locker room. What's the
vibe been like with these two new faces coming together
to compete for that spot.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
Yeah, you know, I think it's everyone is really excited.

Speaker 11 (01:07:53):
It's been funny, you know, talking with coaches, talking people
around the building and people within the city of Pittsburgh,
just about how different things feel. Especially on the offense,
because yeah, not only is Canny Pickett gone, Mitch Trubisky
and Mason Rudo fall out the door.

Speaker 10 (01:08:08):
You bring in.

Speaker 11 (01:08:09):
Russell Wilson Justin Fields, but there's also a new offensive
coordinator in Arthur Smith, and they're doing a different system.
They're starting to kind of install some of those plays.
You're seeing a lot of play action concepts in just
these individual drills football in shorts. Nothing super high level
yet by any means, but to me it is it
just feels like there's more of a buzz because everyone

(01:08:34):
on the team knows that something different is happening. But
it does kind of remain to be seen whether or
not that different is good, different or different for the
sake of change.

Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
Yeah, the age old question.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
No, I'm really curious to see though, because the way
that this is being portrayed. I know that Justin Fields
is obviously he's coming in after being a starter for
multiple years. He's saying, yeah, I'm here to compete. But
from the Steelers perspective, Justin said he wanted to be
in Pittsburgh. That's one of the places he wanted to go.
Does that mean that the Steelers have left the door

(01:09:06):
kind of cracked open for there to be an actual
quarterback competition or is this really Russ's job until he,
I don't know, stinks it up enough to make a change,
Like is there a true quarterback competition going into camp?

Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
You know?

Speaker 11 (01:09:21):
I think that there is some kind of competition happening,
because if there wasn't, then Mike Tomlin would have said
Russ's our starter and not Russ's in pole position to me,
king that right, and by saying pole position, that's because
he wants Russ to be the guy to leave these

(01:09:42):
off season throwing meetups to you know, be the guy
taking the number one reps in OTAs and.

Speaker 4 (01:09:48):
Things like that.

Speaker 11 (01:09:48):
But I do think that when we get into training
camp we should see justin Fields take reps with the ones.

Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
At least.

Speaker 11 (01:09:56):
If this organization has learned anything from how things shook
out with Kenny Pickett at Mitched Trubisky, it's that you
can't let one guy in a so called quarterback competition
not take any reps with the ones. Because that's why
when Kenny Pickett got thrown in week four of his
rookie season, there was a really steep learning curve because
he hadn't taken any reps with the Ones in training camp,

(01:10:19):
Mitch t Whisky took all of those despite there being
a quarterback competition, So I think that to best prepare
everyone in that room, you've got.

Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
To mix it up.

Speaker 11 (01:10:29):
There has to be Justin Bills getting some reps with
the Ones and make it a true open competition and
not a starter being anointed, which is something that Mike
Tomlin says he hates. He does not want to anoint starters.
So I don't think that's what's happening, because, like I said,
words matter pole position.

Speaker 10 (01:10:47):
Not starter.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
So say Russ gets it as most are expecting, gets
that starting job, but then he struggles early, or Justin
Field's wins over the locker room, how quickly do you
think Pittsburgh would get Fields a shot?

Speaker 11 (01:11:02):
You know, I could see it being something that does
happen fairly quickly, because, for one thing, this is an
organization that only has both of these guys under contract
for only this season. So I think a depends how
the rest of the team is doing. How is the
defense performing. I mean, do they have all the pieces
on this team to make a deep playoff run and

(01:11:22):
do more than just make the playoffs or just have
a five hundred season, although I do think also you
want to have somebody that is an entrenched starter that
is in a groove by the time you get to
that back half of the schedule where it is a
gauntlet of conference games.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
It is the most difficult schedule back up, right, I
think in the NFL exactly exactly.

Speaker 11 (01:11:45):
So I think that you know, if rus struggles early,
maybe he gets a couple of weeks to kind of,
you know, get into a rhythm because you're not having
to play these big time division games right off the top.
But I do think that they don't want to have
to wait until the buy week, you know, to figure
out to get this offense in rhythm, which is something
that has happened several times over the last couple of years.

Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
Yeah, that's kind of my thought. In my question here too,
is that we saw a quarterback Carosel last year. It
didn't go well, as these quarterback competitions rarely go, you know,
when you're actually in season. It's one thing to have
the competition in training camp, but then to have guys
going back and forth in a season doesn't really allow
for any sort of stability or continuity. And I think

(01:12:27):
Mike Tomlin is known as being one of the most
level headed, stable coaches in the league, given his tenure,
given his winning records, all that kind of stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
So do you think that the leash on Russ is
actually a.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
Little bit longer than maybe we're giving it credit for
because Tomlin wants to avoid having a quarterback carousel or
having a quarterback kind of just any sort of instability
at the position.

Speaker 11 (01:12:50):
You know, two years ago, I would have said yes,
But his track record the last two years, you know,
it makes me wonder is he becoming more impatient because
he wants to win now because he's tired of just
congrats you had a winning season that you know, throw
whatever you can against the wall. Because, like I said,
like in two years ago, when Kenny Pickett was put

(01:13:13):
in after.

Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
A halftime of a game.

Speaker 11 (01:13:16):
In four last year, Kenny Pickt gets hurt and then
Mitch Trubisky goes in that doesn't go well. Then Nathan
Rudolph goes in, Like it kind of feels like he
is more willing to make these quick changes that he
wasn't known for. And you look at I mean, he's
fired Matt Canada in the middle of the season. He
had never done that before, and so I think in
a lot of ways, this season is kind of an

(01:13:38):
indicator of were those other things aberrations, Were those just
atypical over a body of work, or is this the
way that he's starting to trend as a coach where
maybe he feels like being steady isn't the way to
win in the NFL Right now. I think that he's still,
by and large a steady, patient guy, but I think
that he is kind of adapt into a quick changing

(01:14:01):
nature in the NFL and trying to really capture momentum
when he can get it from wherever he can get
it from.

Speaker 2 (01:14:07):
And this is the last year on Mike Tomlin's contract,
do you anticipate this also being his last year in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 1 (01:14:13):
If the team struggles, you.

Speaker 4 (01:14:15):
Know, that's so tough.

Speaker 11 (01:14:17):
I think that he will get an extension this summer.
I don't see the Rooney family having him go into
this season feeling like a lane duck coach or someone
that's coaching for free agency, because I think they also
know that if he hit the open market, he could
write a blank check to whatever NFL franchise he wanted,

(01:14:38):
so I don't think it's his last year in pittsburghs
things don't go well, but I do think that he
is entering a really interesting point in his career where
it's not a foregone conclusion that he's going to be
in Pittsburgh forever and ever, Like it does feel like
there's more sand at the bottom of the hourglass there

(01:15:00):
is at the top, which he himself has said about
his coaching career that he knows he's closer to the
finish than the beginning. But I mean, I could see
him being a lifer in Pittsburgh. I know that he
desperately wants to win another Super Bowl, as says everyone,
and that was one of the things that attracted him
to Russ was he said that Russell Wilson had this,
he noticed a drive, and Russell Wilson said it wasn't

(01:15:23):
a hunger because a hunger can.

Speaker 4 (01:15:24):
Be satiated, and this is just yeah. I really liked that.

Speaker 11 (01:15:28):
At first, I was like, what do you mean there's
a difference between hunger and drive, And now I get it,
Like you can drive forever eventually when you're hungry, you can.

Speaker 4 (01:15:36):
Eat, and exactly so I think that Mike Tomlin still
has the drive. I don't. I don't think he's hungry.

Speaker 11 (01:15:42):
I think that he's driven, and so I think that
he does still have several more years in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
That's interesting to me then too.

Speaker 3 (01:15:49):
If he sees this drive in Russell Wilson and he's
Russell Wilson is only on a year contract, say this
does go well, Say Russ, you know, gets back to
his old self. We see like that spark out of him,
We see why he was a nine time pro bowler.
Do the Steelers have an interest in then paying for that,

(01:16:09):
because that's not going to be cheap if Russ goes
off this year.

Speaker 11 (01:16:14):
Yeah, although I think they would, Although I kind of
wonder how expensive it would be because even if he does,
you know, rekindle a spark, that spark's not going to
turn into a bonfire. He just doesn't have the age
for that to, you know, become a towering inferno. Like
I think that maybe he could play two three more years,

(01:16:35):
but you're not going to break the bank on him.

Speaker 4 (01:16:38):
And I think he knows that.

Speaker 11 (01:16:40):
And I think that, you know, given how much money
he's made in the past, maybe that makes him take
a more team friendly deal.

Speaker 4 (01:16:47):
If he feels like.

Speaker 11 (01:16:48):
Pittsburgh is one or two pieces away from getting to
a super Bowl. Here, I think that you know, that's
going to be something to watch because regardless, like the
Steelers don't have any quarterbacks under contract after this year,
so they've got to hope that they either hit on
whoever starts the season or that they have time that

(01:17:10):
that's not going great if there's not a clear kind
of decision to be made with them, that they have
time to put in the backup to get a clear
evaluation on that guy to make a decision about his contract.

Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
So of a pony here, I don't envy them.

Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
There is so much on the line.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
I've been calling the Steelers my favorite reality TV show
this season. I'm so excited for it. Brook, Thank you
so much for joining us and all that insight info.
It was awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
Say hi to the pod for me.

Speaker 7 (01:17:44):
Thanks y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:17:45):
I guys see, we're gonna take one more break here,
but when we come back playoff predictions.

Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
A realizing a Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here
with Carmen Vitally. We are broadcasting live from Attack to
Comm Studios in Los Angeles.

Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
It is time for some NBA playoff predictions. Producer Patrick can.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
I also just say though, growing up in Chicago, when
this movie came out, Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Sham was the best thing ever was electric? Oh it's elite.
This song is elite.

Speaker 6 (01:18:14):
To wrap up the show with this radio much funny enough.
The other song I was considering was serious, Oh Chicago, hands.

Speaker 1 (01:18:25):
Down, I'm biased, but I don't anyway. I'm sorry, Patrick. Okay,
Producer Patrick lead us through.

Speaker 12 (01:18:30):
Give me back on track. All right, So we're gonna
do some predictions. We got the Eastern Conference Finals right now, ladies. Yes,
the Boston Celtics Indiana Pacers. We already know where it's at.
Boston's up to zip with Game three going on later
on today, Ladies, who do you think is gonna be
the MVP of the East?

Speaker 2 (01:18:45):
Okay, I'll go first here and after I'm kind of
like backtracking a little. I'm feeling I probably should have
gone a different route, but I'm going Boston in five.
Especially with the Tyres Halliburn news being out with his
hamster injury, I think like this very.

Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
Easily could be a sweep.

Speaker 2 (01:19:03):
Now this is this feels it's it's definitely Boston's year
to get back to the finals. And with this power
duel of Jason Tatum and Jaalen Brown, like they they
have a chance to go all the way.

Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
Oh I'm going even stronger than that. They're sweeping, like
I know they had. They were coming off a two
five game series, so like still short series. Yeah, and
then now I just I just that first game that
game won for me, really really set the tone for
the whole series. And I just think they're especially with
the Tyres Haliburton just injury now, and it's like I
think it's gonna be because of Jaylen Brown. It's been

(01:19:37):
the Jalen Brown show yep, forcing overtime and he's had
he had forty points in Game two. Let all scores,
mm hmmm, uh so he's he scored twenty six I
believe in Game one.

Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
Jalen Brown man.

Speaker 12 (01:19:49):
Yeah, oh right, get the sweeping brooms in Boston for that.
When sweep sweep, Let's go to the West ladies, where
we got Minnesota Timberwolves versus the Dallas Mavericks on. Fortunately
for some of us, Dallas went up to ZIP. Was
not happy last night Minnesota. Minnesota fan Minnesotack. What are

(01:20:11):
we going with that? What are predictions?

Speaker 1 (01:20:13):
I'm gonna go MAVs in six? Who I like that?

Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
Yeah, after last night, it's like buzzer beater, comeback when
I'm feeling way more confident about this pick. And if
Luca can keep those clutch shots going and be that
leader that he is, and Kyrie can play the way
he did really the first half of Game one, I mean,
maybe make some more three throws.

Speaker 12 (01:20:32):
Back.

Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Step back, three pointer over Rudy Gobert. Just there were
three seconds to play. But did you see what he
said real quick afterwards? What he goes, I can't move fast,
but I can move faster than him.

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
I love it. It's spicy. I'm sorry. Thank you for
spending your Saturday afternoon with Carme and me. Have a
safe and fun Memorial weekend, Dallas,
