Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Welcome to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Curry here with
Tracy Sandler, creator Fangirl Sports Network, and for Carmen Today.
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. I
gotta be honest, this was a buzzer beater kind of
day for me getting in here, rolled in like deal man,
it's a more showtime, but we did it. We did

(00:23):
This is like working late night till one am to
like getting up early morning. I guess looks for like
for me now, it's we're doing our best. I think
you're doing it incredible. We're doing our best, you guys.
Happy and NBA playoffs, Boy, did the East surprise me?
Both top seeds officially out nix and six pacers and five.
We'll dive into that in just a bit. Happy MLB

(00:44):
Rivalry Weekend, which is the first time they're like officially
branding it as rivalry weekend. Angels without Mike Trout taking
Game one against the Dodgers last night. Didn't love that?
What what that was shocking? Kershawn making his season debut tonight.
So that were you there last night?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I was not there last night. I was there Tuesday
in Okay, that's probably way.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Did it looked like you were there? I did? I
make up a book. Yeah, well posted some Dodger stuff.
I did well. I post Dodger stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But as Showy had his sweet sixteen home run, like,
I wasn't going.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
To post that. That would be crazy. You were there
for that.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
I was there for the night before. I was there
for the Bobblehead two home runs.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
It's crazy. He always he always homers on his bubblehead
night twice this time. It's actually unbelievable. No, he's like
in a league of his zone. Obviously, literally we all
know that. Gosh, it's incredible. We can talk about shoe
for like two hours. Also, happy NFL schedule release week.
We're gonna play over under wind totals uh today throughout

(01:47):
the show. Also Happy WNBA season opening night kicked off
last night, sparks up in Golden State with their new
face of the franchise, Kelsey Plumb going off. We had
a hell of a game last night. Yeah what thirty
five thirty seven points? I believe like somewhere between that
that was insane. You guys. We are broadcasting live from

(02:07):
the Fox Sports Radio studios. In LA, and be sure
to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. There's
a ton of great videos from many our Fox Sports
Radio shows. Just search Fox Sports Radio and YouTube and
you'll see a whole bunch of video highlights from our shows.
And be sure to subscribe so you always have instant
access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Guys,
we have got a great show for you today. We

(02:28):
have NFL Networks Patrick Claibhn joining us in thirty minutes
to break down the whole schedule release. Then we have
NBA insider Grant Mona from the Sporting Tribune an hour
two executive producer Ean with US today technical producer Chris
Martin wise at the news desk. But let's start in
the NFL with the big news yesterday. Congrats to brock

(02:49):
Perty and the forty nine Ers. They found their franchise
quarterback and they agreed to a five year, two hundred
and sixty five million dollar deal yesterday that puts him
at fifty three million a year one hundred and eighty
one million guaranteed, making him the highest paid player in
forty nine Ers history. He's now tied with Jared Goff

(03:12):
for seventh highest paid player in the NFL, which for me,
that feels it feels right. It feels right. But let
this be a reminder to kids. Brock Party was the
very last pick in the NFL draft, mister irrelevant. A
couple years later, he is now one of the highest

(03:32):
paid players ever in the NFL. So not how you start,
it is how you finish. And I am so happy
for him, this humble king. You're around this team, Tracy
all year. You're one of the beat reporters for the
forty nine ers. Were these the numbers you were hearing?
And is everybody involved happy with how this unfolded? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I think everyone is very happy. These numbers feel right.
I think we had talked a few months so that
I felt if he's your guy, you got to get
fit between fifty and fifty five, yes, and fifty felt low.
So I think these numbers are perfect. I believe everyone
is happy because they got this done early, and everybody
could have made it more difficult. And that's that's not
a knock on anyone, but everybody could have made it

(04:16):
more difficult. But brock Perty said to us on the
day of Locker cleaned out after that very disappointing season.
He did not want there to be drama. He didn't
want to hold out, he didn't want it to be
an issue. He showed up. When players report it's all voluntary.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
He showed up for all of it.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
That said to me also that a deal was imminent
because he came knowing that was coming. Now before Ota start,
it's done. I think everyone is thrilled. I think it
sets the tone for the season. It says a lot
about Brock. And you know, I will say Smith about Brock.
You said the humble king, which he is. However, when

(04:51):
he came in as a rookie in rookie mini camp,
is the last pick in the draft, mister irrelevant, which
he took all of that so and stride. There was
a confidence about Rock Party where it didn't feel like
he was the last pick in the draft. And he
never saw himself as the last pick in the draft.
And that is huge.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Being humble doesn't mean not being confident, No, definitely not.
I just every leader of a franchise, every quarterback, leads
with confidence. That's the only way you're getting results like
he's gotten, or getting a contract like he just got.
I just he's always been very it felt like again,
not around him, No, he is. There's a very respect
oh respectfulness not only for like him, but the game,

(05:29):
his team, this whole process. And that's where I met
by being.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Oh absolutely, I just I just felt his confidence that
first day.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
It really shunned through. He has such respect.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
He works so hard and I know it's so cliche.
First one in last went out all of that, but
he worked.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
That matters, it matters, and then great ones always are
like that.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
And it's funny because in his first preseason game he
went to hand the ball off and her handed off
to the wrong side, which is.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Really it was.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
It was it was like, oh, buddy, like but he
took that in stride and look where he is today,
and I think, I hope, really hope. So this is
a plea to everybody. Yeah, let's stop judging him on
where he was drafted.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
He's been incredible. Look at what he's done.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
The playoff story though, it is, but people people think
he doesn't deserve it because he was drafted the final pick.
People don't like this story because that and I think
it's it's an incredible part of the story, but there
are still people who are like, well, he doesn't deserve
that money.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
He was the last pick in the draft.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
It's silly, it's crazy, silly, But that's that's silly.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
No, it's very silly. He's earned this in his first
two years. Like what conference championship, Super Buber Bowl. Yeah,
like that was like that alone, right there is like, yeah,
pay the man one hundred percent. I mean, and they
made some big moves this summer this offseason in order
to make it happen. They did. Okay, let's dive into
you guys.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
NFL schedule release was on Wednesday, and we're gonna play
a game of over underwin totals for each team. We're
using the odds according to bet MGM. Okay, and uh,
we're gonna start in the NFC and we're gonna start
in the NFC East with the Super Bowl defending champs,
the Eagles, starting off with a bang you guys versus

(07:19):
Dallas at Kansas City versus Rams and mind you the
like Super Bowl rematches on the road Week two in
Kansas City. Ben MGM has the over under set at
eleven and a half wins. Are you going over or under?

Speaker 3 (07:36):
I would say they can't win eleven and a half.
Keeps I guess under I think eleven.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I mean, there's still such a good team.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
They they lost some guys, they still got better, they
still have Saquon. I mean, I just think they're going
on all cylinders. You never know if there's a Super
Bowl hangover. It just doesn't feel like I.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Don't think so. I don't think not with Jalen, not
the way this team has that like Proovey, wrong grit.
I'm gonna go. It's funny because I was like going through,
I'm like, it's going to be eleven or twelve win.
It's like, this is why the odds are so great
and so hard all the time. So I'm gonna go
over around like twelve wins when I was looking at this, Yeah,
that's that's going to be a tough one. But let's

(08:18):
move on to the Commanders. Jade Daniels had, you know,
obviously like Rookie of the Year season. So will he
fall into that sophomore slump? Last season? Everything was new,
like everything coaching staff, like quarterback, No one knew what
to expect. Now they have a target on their back

(08:39):
and a whole season of film on him. Bet MGM
has the over under set at nine and a half wins.
They kick off versus New York at Green Bay, Verse
Raiders at Falcons, at Chargers, versus Chicago at Dallas. They
have a lot. They have bye Week's twelve, so it's

(09:01):
it's it's hefty. I think they go over nine and
a half wins and they get about ten wins. I
think so too.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yeah, and I think the fact that he did that
well when everything was new. He's got he's got another
year Andrews belt.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
He does this, kid's gonna be fine. Okay, let's move
on to them boys. The Dallas Cowboys want to pick
still didn't. I still don't think they did enough this offseason. Yes,
you picked up, made it like the trade you needed
to make getting George Pickens. But if Mike Tomlin and

(09:33):
the Steelers were willing to let him go, and Tomlin
is like the king of controlling crazy personalities, hmm, I
don't know. I gotta see how he fits in and
how he's gonna like be like not being the number
one wide receiver, number one behind CD like, because I
feel like that ego is might get in the way little.

(09:54):
I'm not buying Cowboys stock until they prove they can
win you guys, they've won five playoff games in the
last thirty years. So bedam gym Haser over under at
seven and a half wins, I'll give them eight.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Oh and I think I'm being I think I'm being
very generous.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Hard This one was hard for me because like at Philly,
I mean, I'm taking Philly, like the hate that they
have for each other, this rivalry, like it's it's happening. Sorry, Cowboys,
I'm going under at seven. Remember they also have a
new head coach. Oh, yes they do. They have a
lot to figure out. Like it's after their bye week two,

(10:40):
Like it's tough. They got one easy matchup at Raiders,
but then their verse Philly verse Kansas City on Thanksgiving
at Detroit versus Minnesota verse Chargers at Washington. That's a
really hard, like end of the season stretch after your.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Bye week, that sure is. They're also playing my three
favorite teams. So yeah, now I'm giving them a win
total of six.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
See there you go. Okay, and let's wrap it up
with the Giants. They have some veteran qbs. They picked
up Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston. They drafted Abdul Carter in
the first round. Also drafted Jackson Dart quarterback out of all
miss MGM has her over under at five and a
half six. I'm going under, going under, Okay, let's move

(11:27):
to the NFC North, one of the best divisions last season.
But I think it's gonna look it's gonna look different
this year, right and starting with the Detroit Lions. They
lost their top coordinators, another disappointing end to their season,
and they have a tough start to their year at
Green Bay, VERUS Chicago at Baltimore. So bet MGM has

(11:52):
her over under at ten and a half wins. I'm
gonna go under with ten wins. I think that they're
gonna have a bit of a drop off. They might
have one of the hardest schedules, Yes, they do. Like
according to our Bestie of the show, NFL analytics expert
Cynthia Freeland, she has the Lions having the hardest schedule

(12:14):
according to like her model, and she's a born and
raised Lions fan, So you know that's tough. I yeah,
I think they're gonna get around around. I'm gonna go
with nine. Okay.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
I think it's just gonna be tough. Okay, I really
do without the adjustments.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yeah, it's it's a lot. Okay. Let's move on to
Green Bay. Jordan Love solidified himself as their franchise quarterback.
They finally drafted a wide receiver in the first round,
first time they've done that since two thousand and two.
Bed MGM has their over underwent total nine and a
half wins. They have a tough back end of their schedule.

(12:52):
I'm gonna go over with ten wins. I'm gonna give
them ten as well. Yeah, that feels very right to me. Okay,
let's move on to the Bears. They got a lot better.
They worked on their O line immediately, which is what
Ben Johnson said he was going to do. That was
a huge pickup. I think a franchise changing higher Caleb

(13:13):
Williams in his second year. But they have a tough schedule,
second hardest, possibly a very early bye Week five, and
a brutal end of their season. Bet MGM has there
over under at eight and a half wins. I'm gonna
go under. I think they get better, but I think
they're probably gonna get around eight wins. I would agree
with that.

Speaker 3 (13:31):
If I'm being generous, I would give them nine, but
I think eight is probably more realistic, but that would
be better than where they would better.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
It would be an improvement exactly. Okay. And wrapping it
up with the Vikings, they're going all in on JJ McCarthy,
their rookie quarterbacks. They should, Okay, I forget, I forget
you and Martin are like Michigan, like bleed Blue. I
just don't think they're gonna be as good as last year.
They're gonna have a little drop. They have back to
back a broad games, which I think helps, but be

(14:00):
MGM has are over under at eight and a half.
I'm going under. It's just hard to know what you
have when you have a rookie quarterback coming off an
injury or your face is so funny.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Rights, I stn't know what to expect. I know what
to expect, and I don't think they're going fourteen games.
That might be a little bit of a learning curve
here and there, but I do think and this is
me going with my heart, so I will Yeah, I know, preface, that's.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Definitely with you. But they're gonna win eleven games, and
he show are y'all that he is bad. Eleven games,
JJ forever and ever and ever, Oh, my gosh, talk
about blind heart picking. Okay, well I was honest about it.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Yeah, We're gonna breeze through the South real quick so
we can get to the west. Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I
think they win the division again. I don't think this
is a super strong division that MGM has the over
under at nine and a half. I think they go over.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
I'm gonna give them nine, but they're still good to
with the division.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
Yeah, but is yeah, Okay, let's move to the Falcons
all in a Michael Pennock junior still don't know what
he's gonna be yet, and they still have Kirk Cousins
on the bench. They couldn't get a trade off for
him this year. Betam Jim has there over under at
seven and a half wins. I think they can win eight.
I do too. I'm gonna I'm gonna go with eight. Okay, Panthers,
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to laugh. They're looking to

(15:18):
build off of, you know, ending their last ten games
of the season going four and six. Bedam Jim has
it at six and a half wins. I'm gonna go under.
I'm gonna go to I'm gonna give him six. Yeah,
see all right, okay, and the Saints, what you're gonna do.
What you're gonna do at quotaback nobody knows. Derek Carr
announced that advertising time it last week. Bet MGM over

(15:41):
under at six and a half. I'm going under. They're
they're in a bit of a rebuild. They need a
lot of help. Six teams, right, okay, NFC West and
let's start with the Rams. They got Stafford back, they
signed DeVante Adams, they have a strong young defensive corps.
Bedham Jim has here over under at nine and a
half wins. I'm to go over at around ten. I'm

(16:02):
gonna go ten too.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
I mean, they really showed last year that they've they've
put a really good team together.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
They only get better. So they did, they really did,
and I think it's gonna be neck and neck between
them and the forty nine ers. Forty nine ers gave
brock Purty his bag. They let a lot of guys go.
They did not live up to expectations last year, but
they have one of the easiest schedules, which is setting

(16:28):
them up for a bounce back year. Bet MGM has
their over under set at ten and a half. Wins.
I think they're around nine to ten wins, so I'm
gonna go under.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I'm going to say ten. I think under is probably fair. Yeah,
I think ten because the schedule is so easy. Because
of our difficult schedule, I would pick very differently.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Yeah yeah, yeah, but that that seems fair. Yeah right,
I think that's true. I think we're being fair. So
it's going to be I think Rams take the division,
but it'll be close. Again, per usue, do they do
they play at the end once they're last they play?

Speaker 3 (17:02):
No, it's November ninth, Yeah, because they play, not that
they play in October week five and then yeah they're.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Five and ten. Normally they have like that end of
the season battling it out for the West. But no,
they both have. Rams are Cardinals of their last game
and Eahawks or Niners. Theahawks are Niners last game, okay.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Seahawks also their first game, so that's fun.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Yeah, so let's talk about the Seahawks a lot of news.
Sam Donolet quarterback. Will he be as good when he's
not in Kevin O'Connell's system. Cooper Cup at wide receiver,
can he stay healthy? They're underestimated, which helps teams. Betam
Jim has you over under seven and a half wins.
I think they get eight. I think they think they
can pull out eight, so I'm gonna go over.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I think I'm actually gonna this might be a bit
of a hot take, but I'm going to give him nine.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Wow. No, it's not a hot take. I've heard a
lot of people say, like Seahawks might be a little
like a sneak team to watch out for.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
And I think the NFC West is a little weird,
Like you get these divisional games that one team for
sure should be the winner and they lose the game.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
It's a little weird that way. So what happens with
divisional games?

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Yeah, so that's probably everyone. I'm just so ingrained in
the nfcuses so far. Let's wrap it up with the
Cardinals should win their first two games. They have an
easier schedule, second year of Marvin Harrison junior. They start
their season at Saints and then vrus Carolina, Like they
should go and start their season two and oh they should.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
They should. Bet MGM has their over under at eight
and a half wins. I'm gonna go under at like
eight wins. I'm actually gonna go over at nine.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
I think the Cardinals were surprised on the West. I
think the Cardinals are going to surprise the people.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
I really do. Okay, but all right, I won't be wrong.
But that was the NFC. You guys over under his AFC.
Next hour, we're gonna take a quick break here. When
we come back, the Knigs are back in the Eastern
Conference Finals for the first time in twenty five years.
That's next on Fox Sports Radio.

so would be sure to preset Fox Sports Radio in
the iHeartRadio app and it will always pop up at
the top of your screen. All right. Time to talk
some NBA, because you guys, the Knicks took down the
defending champs of Villanova. Nicks are back in the Eastern

(19:54):
Conference Finals for the first time in twenty five years.
And I'm not saying they had luck on their side,
but they did new Pope Leo, the Villanova grad on
their side. So what they'd the spirit? They had divine
interventional there you go, That's what they had on their side.
And New York was going off last night. I it
was very fey vibe. They took a o out of

(20:15):
the Philly playbook. They fans were climbing the poles, stage,
diving off of billboards into the crowd like interesting. That
was like, oh my god, Okay, Timothy schallamet raging out
his window with the fans after sitting courts side. I'm excited.
It kind of feels like the Knicks have the energy

(20:36):
that they're going to be going to the finals. I
don't want to get ahead of myself, but like I
think I'm picking them to go to the finals and can.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
We just I know we'll talk more about this later,
but de Vincenzo against the Villanova Knicks, I mean in
the finals would be so much.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Fun, insane, insane, But like, let's talk about the defending
champs for a sec. Boston out. Honestly, you kind of
saw the writing on the wall after the Achilles injury
for Jason Tatum, that's big. It's a huge time to
come back from. What's that mean for Boston next year?
They have new ownership, they have a very pricey roster.

(21:13):
Do they keep everyone? Do they offload? When will Tatum
be back? You can't like we just like Achilles is
like one of the hardest injuries to come.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Back from, and for a basketball player that's constantly checking
and moving, and we've seen it with quarterbacks a lot
in the NFL, and even that, like, they don't move
the same. Richard Sherman as a corner back, he recovered
and came back later in his career, but it's not
the same and he you know, battled some injuries. It's
a really, really rough injury. So it will be interesting

(21:44):
to see what they do. I think so much of
it is going to depend on his recovery process and
how long they think it's going to be, because if
it's going to be a whole season, they may.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Have to offload and start retooling. Oh, it's going to
be a whole season, so they're going to always like back,
don't they have to do something?

Speaker 3 (21:59):
It could be longer though, I mean it's good, it
could be its Achilles is really really really we saw
this is where like Kobe went overseas and he did
stem cell.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Yes, like if you want to come back faster and
you want to still be the same, you gotta do
something like you off the books, uh out there experimental
not totally. Yeah, what's normal here? But yeah, we're gonna
look pretty different next year, I really do. A're gonna
look really different. Nicks and Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.

(22:30):
Back to back trips to the Eastern Conference Final for
the Pacers. Last year they were swept by the Celtics.
But the first team ever lower than a three seed
to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals and back
to back years. So yeah, that's gonna be It's gonna
be interesting. But I still have the Knicks. Yeah, no,
me too. All right, now let's check in with Martin

(22:50):
Wise and see what's trending.

Speaker 6 (22:55):
W NBA tip Off weekend continues. Kitler Clark and the
Indiana Fever have a ten point lead right now. Won
the Chicago Sky and Angel Rees Caitlin Clark with twelve
points and four rebounds. Indian has been legen scoring by
Natasha Howard. She's got thirteen. Angel Reese a point away
from a double double already, She's got nine points and

(23:16):
ten rebounds. The New York Liberty beat the Aces ninety
to seventy six early today, brown A Stewart with twenty
five points. Nasajah Cloud added twenty two. Asia Wilson put
the team on her back. Not enough though, thirty one
for her. Brock Party and the San Francisco forty nine
ers have agreed to a five year, twenty sixty five
million dollar deal. One hundred and eighty one of those

(23:36):
million guaranteed. Party was the seventy sixth highest paid quarterback
in the time that he's been in the league, earning
two point six million dollars in his first three seasons.
The Baltimore Orioles fired manager Brandon Hide Baltimore twenty five,
I'm Sorry fifteen and twenty eight and ten and a
half games back of the first place Yankees.

Speaker 7 (23:56):
Third base goes Tony Massalino will be the interim manager.
Tony mass we know managing is the first game as
Orioles manager. Not going well.

Speaker 6 (24:06):
Washington's sixth nothing in the top of the first inning
the Mets to meet the Yankees three to two. San
Francisco Lindor had a sack fly in the top of
the night denning spectral Torklson's home run the difference between
the Tigers and the Blue Jays. Won nothing in the
sixth nting bottom of the sixth enning. There Tampa Bay
and Miami just getting started and the Cubs lead the

(24:26):
White Sox six to three in the seventh.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Back to you, Thank you, Martin. You're listening to Fox
Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Career with Tracy Sandler. We are
broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios in Los Angeles.
Thank you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. But
it is time for our first guests. Someone who came
very highly recommended from my bestie Cynthia Freelan. They both
work together at NFL Network. Patrick Claybond, thanks for joining

(24:50):
the show.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
Thank you guys for having me. And yes, Cynthia's recommendation
comes with a whole lot of weight as I'm going
to try to live up to that because there's this
thing magnificant falloffs when you come from Cynthia to me.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
So hopefully, hopefully I can.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
I can bear this burden for you.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Oh God, I love it so much. Now, before we
get to the NFL schedule, yesterday brock Party got his bag.
Five years, two hundred and sixty five mil forty nine ers,
went through some major offseason changes to make this happen.
Now they have the highest paid forty nine er of
all time? Is this the number you were expecting?

Speaker 4 (25:23):
This is actually a little bit south of the number
that I was expecting, considering that they got. If you
do the math on the value that brock Party has
provided the forty nine ers since he came in his
rookie year and actually practiced throwing left handed after his
elbow exploded and tried to beloved game, it has it
has been probably sixty to seventy million dollars worth of

(25:46):
free quarterback play other brock Party provided. And you know,
the vast majority of his income was coming from Toyota commercial, honestly,
and I know that they've had a lot of veterans apart,
and there was a lot of money that left, and
the idea is that, you know, you have to pay
the quarterbacks, so you can't do those things. I think
they paid under market value for Brock party, I truly do,

(26:11):
and so this is a this is a solid deal.
Of course, it's well, it's well much better than what
Brock was getting, but I think it works for both
him and the forty nine ers. The frustrating thing for
me is in these contracts there are things that they
say are in guarantees, but they're not guaranteed. And that's

(26:32):
a frustrating thing for me as a media member, because
you know, we tell people, hey, he's got x amount
of money in guarantees, but because some of those guarantees
are conditional, then I don't understand why we even use
the word. But I do think it's it's practically guaranteed.
Just hopefully nothing horribly happens that takes away. But it's

(26:53):
just an incredible story. And I wish him nothing but
the best because because he deserves it.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yeah, he truly does.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
He absolutely deserves it.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
And yes, he made in three years he made lesson
he'll be making a week going forward.

Speaker 2 (27:06):
Which is which is pretty incredible. But I mean, that's
an amazing perspective in itself.

Speaker 3 (27:14):
But Patrick, do you think the deal though, even though
a little south of what you were saying, because I
feel this way as someone who's around the team, but
kut of from the national perspective, does the deal say
that these are two sides that wanted to get this done,
stop talking about it and just move forward and really
focus on becoming.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
A better team next year.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
I do believe so.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
In the past couple of years, there's probably been a
collective fatigue by the front office and really just all
the folks.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
In Santa Clara, by the Beat reporters.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
Yeah, absolutely, you guys be prioritized, but especially the Ayuk
saga and everything that happened before and after that. Obviously,
you know, we just discussed all the reasons that Brock
will be motivated to get it done. But I think
that John Lynch and the folks in the office, you know,
it's been coming for a while. It has not been

(28:03):
a secret that they were going to get to this
point at some point, and here they were, so why not?
Why not send the kids something, and I call them
the kid because I'm ancient at this point. I can't
believe I just did that. Send them, send them something
that he'll consider saying yes too. And they did it.
And that's really all that it takes.

Speaker 2 (28:19):
I know that.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
You know, there's a lot of language in these contracts
and people talk about, oh, it's so difficult. It really
comes down to is this something that this person is
willing to sign? Yeah, and that gets it done one
hundred percent of the time. And they were able to
do that.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
I'm just yeah, go brock, Like, it's not how you start,
it's how you finish. Last picked one of the top
paid NFL players of all time. Okay, so the full
NFL schedule was released this week. I want to know
which team do you think got the toughest schedule and
who got the easiest.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
Well, toughest is going to be relative to your ability.
And the Giants, oh, the poor Giants, poor.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Johnson wasn't expecting you to go there.

Speaker 4 (29:00):
Terms of the talent that they have and the things
that they're gonna have that they're going to have to
do to start things off, it's just going to be
very difficult for them, considering that at some point you're
gonna have to You're gonna have to play the rookie.
Like if unless Russell Wilson is winning all these games, yeah,
you're gonna And and they have ten games, ten games

(29:25):
against twenty twenty four playoff teams. That's the second most
of the league, only behind the Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (29:32):
I was going to say. I was like, Lions, Yeah,
and who.

Speaker 4 (29:36):
Actually did win the Super Bowl. Yeah, and they have
to play Philadelphia twice. Yeah, And so it's it's it's
going to be a tough situation for all parties involved.
Uh mcgoni thet thet win the championship here at that.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Point, maybe the Pope could sense some magic over to
the Giants. Well it's yeah, it's Villanova.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Yeah, he said it to the Bears. He was just
sending it to anybody. Yeah, what about the easiest.

Speaker 4 (30:06):
In terms of the easiest, we got to go back
to Santa Clara. They get their quarterback. And then again,
like when you base things off of last year's winning percentage,
things can get a bit wiggly. But the forty nine
ers weren't as good as they should have been last year,
and so like relative to the competition. Like if you

(30:27):
go off of the strength of schedule rankings, it goes Niners, Saints, Patriots, Titans, Cardinals,
and then Panthers. One of those things is not like
the others, and it's really I think a great opportunity
for the forty nine ers and now Bob Sala has
a whole lot of talent to overturn on the defense
to figure things out. But if anybody can do it

(30:47):
and everybody's comfortable with each other there, I think they've
got a great opportunity. I'm down the list. I do
like the Panthers' schedule this season, like it's the converse
of the Giants schedule. They actually start with seven straight
teams that didn't make the playoffs, and we know that
the way that they finished the season, if not trying
to build, yeah, they would have beaten It been the

(31:09):
last thing to beat the Eagles. So it's it's interesting,
it's a solid opportunity for them.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
Okay. I also like that you called out Santa Clara
over San Francisco. That was a little they are Clara.
I try to tell it, it's like it's an hour,
it's a drive. It is a far drive. It is
not San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
I never called San Francisco. I always called Santa Clara.
People need to understand, not in a bad bag, but
it's not San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
It's like the LA. It's like you're not They're not LA.
You're an anim honey.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
Yes, if you do not, why people will be set.

Speaker 7 (31:38):
Up for a.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
That is true, extremely true, So true. That's a good point.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
Many people ask me for restaurant recommendations in San Francisco
and I'm like, I cannot help you.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
No, it's an hour away, but I can't help you
in San Jose.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Yes, clar Patrick, I have a question about the Chiefs.
Everybody's favorite team to hate, I guess, but you look
at what happened to them in the Super Bowl. Obviously
they have Patrick Mahomes. They're still a good team. What
do you see for them this year because I think
this could be very interesting for the Chiefs. Are we
going to see dominance or are they going to fall off?
I'm just kind of curious what your thoughts are there.

Speaker 4 (32:14):
It depends on our perspective for dominance. Right They've had
they had a disappointing season that Patrick Mahomes called a
disappointing season was bemoaning all the things that they could
have done better. And that was the year that they
won the Super Bowl. Yeah, and here they ran into
a very very hot Eagles team. They had injuries on
their own, they had to shuffle the offensive line, you know,

(32:36):
two weeks before that against the team with a very
solid defensive line. It's very hard to project this level
of consistency. But if we're going to do it for
one team, why not this team? Right, it's not going
to look the same, But it's hard. It's hard to
believe that there's just going to be this significant falloff
when the things that we say that they're falling off

(32:57):
is when they're losing the teams that beat everybody else.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
It's a good place.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
It's not much of a fall off. And granted you're
not getting prime Travis Kelcey. Yeah, there's for Chris Jones
to play at the superhuman level that he has over
the years, that would be almost impossible. And to keep
asking Steve Spagnolo to make these changes and deliver world
class defense over and over again. It's a lot. But

(33:21):
if we're going to pick somebody to do a lot,
it's going to be those folks.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
So I am.

Speaker 4 (33:28):
I have made the mistake of picking a down season
for the Chiefs three years in a row.

Speaker 7 (33:32):
Are you one of those?

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Are you one of those?

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Yes?

Speaker 7 (33:37):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (33:38):
When Mitch, When Mitch Holt says you can doubt and
disrespect the Chiefs, he's talking about me.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, I don't get it. I don't.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
I've had so many co hosts be like, I don't
know if they make the playoffs. I'm like, you realize
you're talking about Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid's still in
their prime, right, Like they're going to figure it out.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
Yes, And the.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Problem and I think the reason that I've done that
is for all that it's done for me, this game
is not This game is not physically good for you.
And so essentially these guys have played an extra three
seasons they have based on all of these playoff runs,
and so it's going to become more difficult. And I

(34:18):
really think despite the fact that they lost that Super
Bowl to Tampa Day they lost that Super Bowl to
the Philadelphia Eagles, I really think people need to appreciate
it more considering the amount of time that they've been successful.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Look, get that turnaround. Wow, I'm proud of you. Is
your team a good team in the AFC? Like this
feels like this feels personal.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
I don't know if it's personal. My team, my team
is in the.

Speaker 2 (34:48):
Baja. You were so wonderful. Thank you so much for
coming on. We appreciate all your insight.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Thank you all for having me.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Ah, thank you. All right, guys, we're gonna take a
break here, but when we come back, the dues and
the don't and sports. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Welcome back to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex curR here
at Tracy Sandler. We are broadcasting live from the Fox
Sports Radio studios in Los Angeles. Thank you for spending
your Saturday afternoon with us. We'll be your friend in
lonely places today. Absolutely, we got you. All right, guys.
It is signed for the dues and the don'ts in sports.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
Highlighting the dues, Oh, I love that, and putting a
spotlight on the don't the subject brings me no joy.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
That's insane. It's time for the dues and the dots
in sports.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Okay, I'm gonna start with a do and it's kind
of like a double doo do go all out as
a player and as a fan. We're gonna start with
the player because this just happened. Kayl and Clark and
the Fever are playing Angel wreaths in the sky and
it is so spicy. You guys must watch TV. Kaylan
Clark has already gotten a flagrant one on Reeze when

(36:01):
she was going up pick a shot ree Scott madd
gotten her face. Players had to hold her back. Caitlin
just you know, swave it, turned and walk the other
way like I love this swagger. It's been on repeat
if you have They're on ABC right now. But it's beautiful.
Like watch this game. Indiana's up sixty four forty five

(36:22):
with one twenty four left in the third. I love
this Okay. Now as a fan, go all out. Knicks
fans have showed up and showed out this entire playoff
series that they beat the depending champion Boston Celtics last
night and they went ham After beating Boston in six

(36:42):
and heading to the Eastern Conference Final for the first
time in twenty five years, fans were climbing poles, very
philiesque street signs, bus stops, doing stage dives off like
cars and billboards, which like literally my heart was like,
oh my god, see okay, Timothy Shallomey like out of
his car window and was raging with fans. He's been,

(37:04):
he's been one of their like fan faces. Oh my
front and center this playoff series two, and the Empire
State Building was lit up blue an orange, so I
might be like, obviously all my teams are out. I
might be jumping on this like Nick's fanwagon for the
the finals, like go baby, go all the way. I

(37:26):
am definitely. I like the story. It's a great story.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
And actually one of my dudes was specifically Timothy Shallow
that no matter how big time you are, be a fan.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
I mean he's sitting on the car and then he's
leaving in a driven so you saw the same clip.
We're talking about the same clip, but he owns the windows.
He slapping hands with everybody. His like security guard had
to like pull him back into his like suv because
he was like getting ready to stage like dive and
crawl out of the way. And that was the last
time we ever saw Timothy Salvick. It was amazing.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
I loved it, Like, no matter how big time you are,
when you have said you're you're in it.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
I love that about him. And then I have another du.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Okay, and my du is when you're gonna do city connects,
yours these really connected to your city. So at first
look at the Red Sox, I was like, they look
like the A's but then I realized it was an
ode to the Green Monster, and I love that about them,
and I was the nax is such a big part
of the Red Sox and Boston, So that's my due
on that.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Okay, Yeah, I'm kind of like fifty to fifty on
the City Connects. Like some hit and some are like
I actually, although I don't like them, the Padres are great.
It's my favorite. They're really it's my favorite. Like that
is my favorite. Okay, do get creative with your schedule
release videos? Yes, I love these so much. And one
that I loved was the Rams using Brenda Song as

(38:46):
like a news update paper and she was throwing shade
at every team she everyone se that they were playing.
I don't know if you follow any la sports or
actress Brenda Song, who's married to Nicholey Culkin. She was
a Disney star when we were all growing. She's on
running points yeah, and she oh yeah, good point there.
She is a huge sports fan, huge noseball. One of

(39:07):
my favorite videos of her is miked up at one
of the Lakers playoff games and she is talking trash
every single play to every player and she just she
is so zoned in. It is a Chef's kiss, like
one of my favorite celebrity fans to follow and watch.
So I love that the Rams brought her in well

(39:29):
on schedule release. I have a dude, do be the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
They're a social team, always play plays always, basically the
LA teams when Hollywood and.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
They bring it they did Minecraft.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Yeah, Minecraft Chargers were Minecraft Chargers were Minecraft. They're so
and all season long. Their social media is amazing.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I just have some of it.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
You guys like the uh Ian Rappaport and Jordan Schultz
fighting each other in the Minecraft characters. Wait, I missed
that one. That was all time epic.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Okay, by the way, the combine. The only time I
wasn't at that Starbucks was during the fight. I was like,
you gotta be kiddy the twenty minutes I'm not there.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
Literally, you and Carmen said the exact same thing. That
was Chef's kiss. All right, we're gonna take a quick
break here when we come back over under AFC edition.
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Welcome to our two of Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex
Curry here with Tracy Sandler and for Carmen Today. Thank
you for spending your Saturday afternoon with us. Happy NBA Playoffs.
Both top seeds are officially out of the East, nix
and six Pacers and five. We're getting a game seven
in the West tomorrow Denver at OKCE, so that's gonna

(40:42):
be fun. Also, Happy WNBA season. Caitlyn Clark and Angel
Rees going at it right now, and it's been spicy.
Caitlin Clark already got a flagrant I lot of Angel
Rees like. It's beautiful. Happy MLB Rivalry weekend, first official
rivalry weekend. I love the new branding. NFL Scout Edule
release week we're doing over underwind Totals all show. We

(41:04):
did NFC in the first hour. We got AFC coming
up next, but I want to dedicate this show real
quick to my dear friend and professional surfer Greg Browning,
who lost his battle with als last month. He was
one of the kindest people that I know. He went
on to become an incredible videographer, producer, director, surfing coach.

(41:26):
He coached multiple women to world surfing titles and Olympic medals.
He had a beautiful paddle out we did in Hermosa
Beach this morning. There was so much love. Again. It
just reminds you to appreciate the little things in life.
Tell your people you love them. Greg. May the forest
be with you. He's a huge Star Wars fan. Now

(41:47):
we got a Guardian angel looking down on us. He
had a beautiful outlook on life. So Greg, this one's
for you. We love you. For the best pregame show
every weekend, be sure to tune into Fox Sports Radios
I Mount Down presented by bet MGM every Saturday and
Sunday morning from nine am to noon Eastern six to
nine am Pacific. We will count you down to all

(42:08):
of the biggest games. Tune into Countdown presented by bet
MGM every Saturday and Sunday morning right here on Fox
Sports Radio and iHeartRadio app. Okay, NFL schedule release we did.
It's it's been wild. It's fun to dissect, right because
you like knew the you knew what the matchups, but

(42:29):
now we know when, where, what's going down. Also, so
many international games, yes, which NFL go and Global Baby
get ready like we love that. So we are going
to play over underwin totals for each team and these
are the odds according to bet MGM. Okay, we did

(42:49):
NFC last hour, so if you miss that, you can
listen to our podcast. We'll send out the links right
after the show. But now we're headed to the AFC.
All right, I'm let me get my schedules out here.
We had our amazing producer print out this large stack
of all of the schedules, and we're going to start
in the AFC East with the Bills. You guys who

(43:11):
have a very winnable schedule, I mean not easy. Right
out of the gates, they're versus Baltimore, then at New York,
versus Miami, versus New Orleans, versus New England's at Atlanta
before their week seven by week so that is a
very favorable start to their schedule. They have a clear

(43:33):
path to the top seed in the AFC. Bet MGM
has their over underwind total at eleven and a half wins.
I'm gonna take the over. I think they what they
had thirteen wins last year. I think they have around
twelve this year, eleven or twelve.

Speaker 3 (43:51):
I'm gonna I would say twelve twelve thirteen sounds too many.
I don't know why since they had Lstyer, but it
sounds too many. And to me, eleven sounds too little.
So I'm gonna go just right.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
Yeah, So so we're both we're both in the over. Yes, yeah,
I mean this is there. It feels like this is
their year. I feel like it's so hard because anytime
I pick anybody over Mahomee to I don't know, win
a playoff game against him, or like win the AFC,
I always get proven wrong. And I'm like, I'm never

(44:21):
gonna do that again. But like here I am again
saying I think it's Josh Allen and the Bill's ear,
but I don't know. I think they get I think
they get over eleven and a half. So let's move
to the Dolphins. Benham GM has her over under win
total at eight and a half. I know it's gotten better,

(44:41):
but like the Tyreek Hill drama is never ending, both
on and off the field end, and it like so
much is dependent on Tua's health. They didn't really make
us splash this offseason or like any big changes. Betam
Gym has here over in a win total eight and
a half wins. I'm gonna take the under. I they

(45:04):
start like they could win their first two. They're at
Indy then versus the Patriots, but like Patriots might be
sneaky good this year. That's like one of the ones
to keep your eye on. And then they're at Buffalo
versus the Jets at Carolina, like it's I don't know,
I don't know, I don't know if like Tyreek Hill's

(45:26):
hearts in Miami anymore. I think he's like learning and
like understanding, Like oh, I should have stayed with the
best quarterback in like the the soon to be Dynasty
franchise and not chase the bag. But again, like I
say this for every athlete, there's no wrong answer if
you want to go chase the bag or if you
want to take less and try to win a chip,

(45:46):
like you have a very short window to make money
as an athlete, a professional athlete, especially in the NFL.
I think it has like the smallest average career window.
So he went for the bag and Yeah. No, he
hasn't had a lot of playoff success.

Speaker 3 (46:03):
He has not held a event really any success, but
I would I'm gonna go with the under as well,
which breaks my heart as a like mc daniel stand
but oh, I think.

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Going to be I think, well, I know, Okay, So
then let's move to the team we just mentioned, the Patriots.
They made some big moves this offseason, biggest one hiring
Mike Vrabel as their head coach. He's been regarded as
like one of the top guys out there. He is
a part of this like Patriot system. They also picked

(46:32):
up Stefan Diggs, who had a hard launch with his relationship,
and Cardi b at the Knicks game, another fun fan
front row Ye didn't hate it at all. No, and
Patriots are kind of my pick for surprise team yeah
this year. So there Bedam Jim has there over under
at seven and a half wins. I think they go

(46:54):
over at eight. I think they're like right there picking
the over too, but I think they're gonna win nine. Whoa,
and they don't even have JJ McCarthy's and also like
a big jump from where they've been the last two
years in fra wile we trust in vab. Yeah, I'm there.

(47:14):
I'm there too. Okay, let's move to the Jets. A
lot of new new head coach, Aaron Glenn, Bye bye,
Aaron Rodgers, new quarterback Justin Fields.

Speaker 7 (47:24):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
They're opening game at home against the Steelers. In theory,
Rogers could be in Pittsburgh the team quarterbacks swap because
remember Justin Fields was on Steelers last year. I think
the NFL is hoping for that. Uh, Rogers moved, but
obviously he hasn't made any decisions yet and they've made

(47:45):
their offer, so I'm like, I don't know, he might
just be waiting for a better seem or opportunity. It's
just weird. But uh, BENEMGM has their over under win
total at five and a half way and I'm gonna
take the over and not buy a ton. But I
think they did make some some good moves.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Yeah, I'm gonna take the over as well. I would
be surprised if they don't win seven games. Oh, okay,
I'm gonna give them seven games. I think Aaron Glenn
is a really good coach. They did some things that
change even if they start the season against Aaron Rodgers
and the Steelers Aaron Rodgers does not strike fear in
the hearts of me anymore.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
No, I'm going side wins. Okay, I'm gonna give you
the first. They're verse Pittsburgh Okay, then verse Buffalo Okay. No,
at Tampa. Tampa's taking that. At Miami could go either way,
Versus Dallas, versus Denver, and that's in London. Then they
come back first Carolina, then at Bengals. I don't like.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
That's not it's not but in the NFL, this will
you will always win a game or two you were
for sure supposed to lose, and you'll always lose a
gamer to your first. And so I'm gonna give him seven.
I mean, it's very good to give them seven. And
you're welcome, Jets fans, you are welcome.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:57):
Oh no, that's very kind of me. That's kind Okay.
Let's move to the AFC North. Start with the Ravens. Okay.
Bet MGM has their over under win total at eleven
and a half wins. I'm gonna go over. I think
they have like twelve wins, like I think last year
they have like right around there. They had a tough
start to the season. Last year they lost the first

(49:21):
two games. It was the toe game on the line
in Kansas City and they lost like the weird one
to the Raiders, which was like, huh, okay, is this
going to be a down year for Lamar? But the
season the first four games, like through the first four games,
Week one at Buffalo, then versus Cleveland they should get

(49:43):
but then they're hosting Detroit on Monday night, and then
Week four at Kansas City like they got after the
season tough, and then like vers Houston versus Rams like
and then they have to bye week. Like the first
six games are tough.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
They could be at they could be at five hundred
of us first six games. Yeah, and the easily worse.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
Easily.

Speaker 3 (50:03):
I'm going to give them eleven wins because you're going under,
going under, You're going under.

Speaker 2 (50:07):
Okay, let's move to the Bengals, who always start slow.
You guys. They are one and nine in the first
two weeks of Joe Burrow's career. That's ridiculous that that
needs to check crazy, Like it is just hard for
them to get momentum going. But that's how you start.
But it's one and nine in the first two weeks
of Joe Burrow's career wild. But like on the offensive side,

(50:32):
they like just signed all their their big wigs. They
like they made all the moves. But then their top
like defensive end Trey Hendrickson saying he's not going to
play without a new contract. So like defense is a question.
And as we saw last year, Joe and the offense
is putting up the numbers crazy points. He had an
incredible season and they were still losing games because of

(50:52):
their defense. They have a new defensive coordinator, al Gordon
from Notre Dame, and they had an incredible defense. Al
Gore I was like, oh yeah, yeah, but I say, yeah,
it's amazing. Yeah, way to go. Way to make a
career jump. That's so beautiful. And they had like an

(51:13):
incredible defense, like on their way to the title game.
Minus the title game. Bet MGM has their over under
for the Bengals at nine and a half wins. I'm
gonna take over. And if they can start like six
and three, I feel like that maybe this is the
season that they win their first two games because it's

(51:35):
against the Browns and Jags, so like they have a chance.
They should, they should, but after their bye week ten,
you guys, it gets tough. It gets tough at Pittsburgh
versus New England. Should be okay at Baltimore, at Buffalo
versus Baltimore, like that little stretch there, like around the

(51:56):
Thanksgiving I'm going under nine brutal.

Speaker 5 (52:01):
Whoa.

Speaker 3 (52:03):
They have not shown me they can start the season
six and three.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
No, No, I'm saying like maybe high hopes.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
Okay, but next maybe next year when we're doing this,
it'd be like, well I was wrong, yeah, over who knows?

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Okay stealers So much is dependent on who their quarnerback
is going to be, Like they don't have a clear
starter right now, Like Mason Rudolf is your guy, I
don't know. Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season. Now,
with seventeen games, you have to win nine, but MGM
has are over under at eight and a half wins.
I'm taking me under. This might be Mike Tomlin's first

(52:35):
losing season.

Speaker 3 (52:37):
I don't want to be unkind, but if Mason Rudolph
is his quarterback, yeh, then this will be Mike.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Tomlins first route.

Speaker 5 (52:42):
Right.

Speaker 3 (52:43):
I'm sorry that was unkind, although I didn't want to
be in mind, but.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
It's reality, Like you don't have a guy right now,
and you're putting all your eggs in the Rogers basket.
And we've seen what happens to teams when they do that.
Doesn't go great, No, doesn't go great. No, it's interesting interesting, okay.

Speaker 3 (53:02):
And then.

Speaker 2 (53:04):
The Cleveland Browns the most dramatic, closely watched quarterback room
this offseason. Probably we are literally breaking down their rookie
mini camp because of Shador Sanders. Now the Browns current
quarterback room, let me just bring it one up to
speed here. Mister badman who I'm sorry I don't say
his name on air, won't be ready to play Week one.
Kenny Pickett has bounced around a bit obviously. Joe Flacco,

(53:26):
he's forty. I think he has the best chance to
start Week one. And then Shadoor Sanders are fifth round
pick and Dylan Gabriel who was a Brown's third round
pick and was getting first team reps at rookie mini caamp.
Like that is a crowded This is.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
The weirdest quarterback room I think I've ever heard of
in my life.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Wild Benam Jim does not believe in them. They have
an over underwin total at four and a half wins,
I'm gonna go over. I think they can pull off
at least five. But again, like, what's that quarterback situation
gonna look like? Is Shador gonna be a backup? Is
he gonna make the practice? Like what's gonna happen? Are
they gonna have to get rid of Kenny Pickett? Like,

(54:04):
because I think Joe Flacco is definitely like.

Speaker 3 (54:08):
He's their best option at the moment. At the moment
I'm gonna give. I'm actually going under four wins?

Speaker 2 (54:13):
Whoa okay today AFC South Houston Texans Year three for CJ. Stroud.
What are we gonna get like Rookie of the Year, CJ.
I don't know. I think they still win their division.
Bet MGM has you over under at nine and a half.
I think under at nine, Yeah, I agree with that. Yeah.
And then let's move to the Colts. They're gonna have

(54:33):
a little quarterback competition. Daniel Jones. They picked up a
lot to prove see if you can still be a
starter after getting released by the Giants last year, and
then on the Viking he was like a hot moment.
And then they have Anthony Richardson who's dealt with injuries
each season, so far of his NFL career. Bet MGM
has her over and a win total seven and a half.

(54:54):
I'm gonna go under. I am two. Yeah, seven? Okay,
sorry Colts, All right, let's move to the jag They
made a huge move trading up to get Travis Hunter
number two overall in the draft. I think that shocked everybody.
I don't know if anybody had that on their being
go card. But Trevor Lawrence hasn't lived up to his

(55:14):
full potential his contract that he just caught like everything.
He was injured last season. Bet I'm jim has there
over under at seven and a half wins, I'm gonna
go over. I think they can win eight. I am
with you on that. I think that the back end
of their schedule is easier, easier, so I think they
can do it. I think so too. I think they

(55:35):
could win eight. Okay, the Titans. This is the year
about cam Ward's development, right, I think that's just the focus.
Anything can happen in your rookie season. But will he
pan out to be the franchise like the quarterback of
the future, because this was widely considered not a strong
quarterback draft, right, yeah, but he was a number one

(55:56):
overall pick. They had the number one overall like they
had to pick him, Like this is like they had
no choice. BEDMGM has are over underseet at five and
a half. I'm gonna go over with six wins, which
I think might be wishful thinking, but I'm gonna do it.
I'm gonna go under with five. Yeah, that's fair. That's fair. Okay.
Now to the West, to the West, to the West

(56:19):
AFC West Kansas City Chiefs. Bet MGM has their over
under set at eleven and a half wins. We've already
kind of talked about the Chiefs this year. It's still
Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, you guys, Okay, they got embarrassed,
embarrassed in the Super Bowl. I think they make some
big adjustments. They made some moves to their O line.

(56:41):
They use their first round pick to get an O
line player. Their D line got stronger. I'm gonna go
this is so tough. I'm like, I might right at
eleven wins, I think they're gonna get but like, got
a pick, I'm gonna go over. I'm gonna go over
with twelve.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
I'm going under to eleven and it's not really a
knock on them. The AFC is just really hard.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
It's hard.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
It's a really tough division. And if they were in
the NFC, I might feel differently, But I'm gonna go
to eleven.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
All right, Fine, let's get to the Broncos. They have
a bright season ahead of them.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
They do like.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
Bonix like end of the season, winning five of the
last seven. Second season with Sean Payton. BENHAMGM has there
over under at nine and a half wins. I am
gonna take the under, and I think they get like
nine wins.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
I am in a quandary, but I think this is
one of the things when you're in a quandary, you
take the under. Yeah, I'll give them nine, but nine
wins would be I think that would be good.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
It's funny because like with these over unders, like they're
so good, like this is why, like it's what they do.
Odds makers are great. Most people take the the over,
and I think over fifty percent sixty percent usually hit
the under. Makes sense. Yeah, okay, Chargers second year of
Your Boy. Jim Harbaugh bet MGM has the over under

(57:57):
set at nine and a half wins.

Speaker 7 (58:02):
Rude.

Speaker 2 (58:06):
They start against like Verus, Kansas City, at Raiders versus Denver,
Like it's heavy division play right out of the gates
at New York Giants versus Washington, at Miami versus Colts. Yeah,
they have a winnable schedule.

Speaker 1 (58:26):
They do.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Over under nine and a half wins.

Speaker 3 (58:32):
My thing is I have implicit trust in the coach.
I have less trust in the quarterback. But with that
being said, I'm going to say ten people, because I
have all that trust in the coach.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
You do, that's your heart talking. I'm taking under at
nine wins.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
My heart has spent a lot of time on the show.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
I know it has just like spread out. Okay, let's
end with the Raiders. A whole lot of new you guys,
Pete Carroll, new head coach, Gino Smith at quarterback Ashton
Genty was a first round pick, top running back runner
up for the Heisman bet MGM Hazzar over under at
six and a half wins, Like, I think they're gonna

(59:06):
be good, better, but a lot of holes. I'm gonna
take the under at six whims.

Speaker 3 (59:12):
I'm gonna take the over at seven because it's still
not great, but it is better, and I think Pete
Carroll's presence, Yeah, will help think somewhat culture.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
He's going to create a culture, man, because that still
means they lose ten. Because I love I love chaos,
and I love wild fan bases and Raider fans like
you don't get crazier than that. It's correct. Let's get
it good, all right. We're gonn taking a quick break here.
When we come back, we're getting a game seven in
the West tomorrow. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Welcome
back to Fox Sports Saturday. I'm Alex Kurry here at

(59:45):
Tracy Sandler, coming to you live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios in LA. Thank you for spending your Saturday
afternoon with us, you guys. NBA Western Conference Final is
almost set. Te Wolves took down Golden State in five
and the Lakers in five. Gentlemen sweeps for both. Love
this of the like two of the biggest stars over

(01:00:09):
the last decades in the NBA. It feels like the
passing of the torch. It does, especially with like it
being Anthony Edwards who continues to take down the like
the goats of the game right turning into an ant stand.

Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
I think a lot of people are all because he's
also respectful about it, Like after he beat the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (01:00:32):
I just beat the best player ever. Yeah. Like love Lebron,
Like he'll gush before and after the series, but during
game on like it is like we're going at it.
Like you're not getting like the fan, but like before
and after there's like a respect. Yeah, which I love.
And now t Wolves are back to back trips to

(01:00:52):
the Western Conference Final. They're the real deal. Like Anthony
Edwards is only twenty three, he's been he's been talked
about like the new face of the league. Like that's
been a big conversation. Julius Randall is having a great
postseason also, like just kind of put this on everyone's radar.
The t Wolves president of Basketball Operations was Denver's old

(01:01:15):
GM and president of Operation, so he's responsible for putting
that championship Nuggets team together and now he's running the
Tea Wolves and it has a very similar setup and vibe.
Yes it does.

Speaker 3 (01:01:29):
The man can build a basketball team. I'm really into
the Tea Wolves. I went to the game one of
that Laker playoff game and after the game, it's like, well,
that that is a good team.

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
An Anthony Edwards is No, he's that dude. He is
that dude. I'm he is that dude. I'm kind of
all in, not even kind of okay, And they're going
to face the winner of OKC and Denver. Denver forced
to Game seven happening tomorrow back in Oka. See, this
one's kind of a toss up for me because Denver
has the experience, but because it's back in Okasee, I

(01:02:00):
think that gives them the upper hand. But I'm I'm
still gonna I'm going to bet on the joker in Denver.
That's who I'm going to take. So I think they're
gonna I think they're gonna get back.

Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
I am very curious about Aaron Gordon's left hamstring. That
to me, that's big, is big, that it's a big,
very big. It's been kind of their like clutch. Yeah,
Feazer Beater. I'm going to pick Okayse because it's back.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
They have the upper hand, No, the like on paper
like they should win Game seven back at home.

Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
I know this young upstar team in such an incredible season,
and they've been a lot of fun. It is back home.
I love the idea of watching them against aunt. I
just think that's so fun. So I'm going to take them.
Also because let's be different. Young guns, all all the
young guns. I'm I'm into it. I'm going to pick
them and you know, we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
But I love it. I love a Game seven, especially time.
Is it like twelve thirty? I think that's beautiful, beautiful
for me on the West Coast. All right, now, let's
check with Martin Wise and see what's trending that.

Speaker 7 (01:03:03):
Game seven will be a matt in a three thirty
Eastern twelve thirty Pacific. I'll be on a plane. How
cool is that?

Speaker 5 (01:03:09):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Where are you going?

Speaker 7 (01:03:10):
I'm going to Chicago for fun?

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
No, for work?

Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Oh love that?

Speaker 7 (01:03:14):
Oh good? You know, gotta go the make the Herd happen?

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
Oh are you relocated?

Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
No, well until Thursday, Okay, no, no, they I'll be bad.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
They're all taking turns to going out there.

Speaker 7 (01:03:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
I keep forgetting the Collins out there like part time
now or more majority of time? Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:03:30):
Speaking of Chicago, the Sky took their first loss of
the year in the first game of the year.

Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
As the WA tip off weekend continues, Caitlin Clark and
the Indiana Fever hosted the Chicago Sky ninety three to
fifty eight the margin of victory. Dewana Bonner passed to
Tina Thompson for third all time in MWNBA scoring.

Speaker 7 (01:03:49):
She had seven. Clark was led I mean sorry.

Speaker 6 (01:03:52):
Clark led the Fever in scoring with twenty points, six
for thirteen from the floor. Angel Reese had a twelve
point seventeen rebound double doubles.

Speaker 7 (01:03:59):
She led the Sky scoring.

Speaker 6 (01:04:00):
There was a flagrant foul in the third quarter when
Clark fouled Reese on a layup attempt, ended up being
a flagrant one after review. Elsewhere in the WNBA, the
New York Liberty beat the Vegas Aces ninety to seventy
sixth round a Stewart with twenty five points. The Ace
is led by Asia Wilson and her thirty one points.
The Baltimore Orioles fired manager Brandon Hide. Baltimore is twenty

(01:04:21):
I'm sorry, fifteen and twenty eight and are about ten
games back from the Yankees. Tony Masllino, third base coach,
is the interim manager.

Speaker 7 (01:04:29):
Right now.

Speaker 6 (01:04:29):
On FS one, you can see not going so great
for Tony Macellino and the Baltimore Orioles seven to nothing.
The score of the Nationals leading at the top of
the fifth inning. Earlier today we saw the met To
beat the Yankees three to two. All the talk about that.
The Blue Jays just walked off the Tigers to to
one win for one of the Tigers, one of the
hottest teams in the America League, losing on a walk off.

Speaker 7 (01:04:51):
Tampa Bay has a four run lead on Miami four.

Speaker 6 (01:04:54):
To nothing in the fifth inning and I'm trying to
see who hit this walk off looks like a walk
off single for the Tampa Bay. I'm sorry for the
Toronto Blue Jays as they get to win there.

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Back to you guys, wild No, okay, Martin, thank you.
You're listening to Fox Sports Saturday. And Alex Courry here
at Tracy Sandler, we are broadcasting live for the Fox
Sports Radio studios in Los Angeles. We're gonna take a
little moment here. We're trying to get our next guest
on the line to talk some NBA. But WNBA kicking

(01:05:27):
off last night was just like Ugh Chef's Kiss. You
have the Sparks Kelsey Plumb their new face of the franchise,
Like Sparks like made some major moves. New head coach
went to get a star, Cameron Brinks should be back
mid season, really hoping that it comes together for them.

(01:05:49):
I hope it comes together. They were facing the new
Golden State Valkyrie.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
Which so nice for Golden State because they the Warriors
went out the other night, the Valkyrie premiere last night,
and yeah, fun, great games, So I'm happy for the
Bay Area by Barrier friends.

Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Right, and then we got I think everyone's favorite rivalry
in the w NBA Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese going
at it this afternoon and it was spicy. It's always spicy,
but Caitlyn getting a flagrant one, you know, blocking Reese

(01:06:25):
going up on a shot, but like they had to
be separated and it just it just I love this.
I love when we have a good rivalry, like two
of the best in whatever league you're playing in, is
like one of my favorite things.

Speaker 3 (01:06:42):
So your rivalry goes back to talk about it from college,
like through the rest of their cafe.

Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
It's similar to like a magic and a bird, Like
if we were going to compare it to something like
that's just that's just fun. It is fun.

Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
And weekend in baseball, all the rivalries this weekend, I'm
loving it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
What took MLB so long to create rivalry weekend because
we always had, like, you know, you have the Freeway Series,
you have what do they call it? The Subway Series
in New York? I know there was another one in Chicago.
What do they call the Chicago one?

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Do we know?

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
I actually don't know what they call it, but I
was like looking at Martin, I'm like, Martin, do you
know what they call it? The Pope Series?

Speaker 5 (01:07:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
I mean, get get into it. You're heading to Chicago tomorrow.
I don't know, but like this is it's such a
good like branding opportunity and moment for them. I will say, though, shocker,
like Angels take in Game one without Mike Trout over
the Dodgers last night, even with Otani hitting a home
run which he seems to always do, and we got
Kershaw making his season debut tonight. What years this for

(01:07:48):
him and the Dodgers. I want to say seventeen, but
I don't think that that's hits up there. I mean
it's up there, and like obviously we're towards the end
of a Hall of Fame, legendary career for Kershaw and
they put him on a one year deal right like
they signed up seventeen seventeen. I was right, you got that.

(01:08:09):
What are you expecting to see from Kershaw tonight in
his seventeenth season debut with the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
It makes me so nervous because I love Curse so
much and I just want him to do well. But
you know, he seems, he seems healthy. He said he
didn't want last season to be the last season with
him not you know, really playing. And I expect to
see a good outing from Kershaw if he can give
them five innings.

Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
Yeah, And is he on a pitch count? Have you heard?

Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
I don't know if he's on a pitch I mean
probably he has.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
In his first game back. He had like a good
little rehab. They need him, I mean, Dodgers went out
pitching was her issue last year when they like faced
all those injuries. Dustin May got lit up early last night,
but also has been having like a pretty decent he
has been come back from his injury because he was

(01:09:02):
out for a long time. Was he almost two years?
He was because he had the the.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
The surgery and then the esophagus issue at the end
of us about that and that because he was maybe
gonna come back and then he had this so that
was a whole thing. So he was out almost two years,
and he really, for the most part, has been pitching well.
And even last night, I want to say he gave
up four runs. It's not the end of the world.
They think what badly after he left as well. It
was very peak Dodgers to score nineteen runs on Thursday

(01:09:30):
night and score two runs. It's like the most brand
Dodgery thing you could possibly ever do. But I think
from kershot, I think we're gonna see good stuff. I
think if he can give them five innings, that also
means that he's pitched pretty efficiently. I'd be surprised if
he goes past five innings because they are going to
want to be careful with him. But they have a

(01:09:51):
very tax bullpen, so mine would be ideal. If he
could give up five innings and no more than two runs,
I'm gonna consider it a really successful that's.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
Happening at six. Yeah, they're shot Anderson. I mean, this
is a good this is a good one. Also, like
I sung Kim for the Dodgers, can we take a
moment for him, who's just like the comic stepped up.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
He's They're gonna have a very tough decision to make
when Edmund and Tasker back in. Evan and Tasker are
coming back, but they're gonna have another I won't say
it out loud right now, do on saybody, but.

Speaker 2 (01:10:26):
They're gonna have to let like a favorite go. I
think they are trade or d'fe.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
Like what happens with Chris Taylor, who's who's been doing
well and is such a utility man for them. But
how can you You can't send Kim back to the miners.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
You can't. You cannot do that. No, and he's the
he's part of the future.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
I think it's gonna be I think it's gonna be tough,
and I think if it's anybody, it's I hate to
say it, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Gonna be our twenty twenty one hero, Chris Taylor.

Speaker 3 (01:10:52):
That's just my prediction. I don't know who else it
would be. That's tough because it's not gonna be A's
not gonna be yea.

Speaker 2 (01:11:00):
They just sign like how much did they get They
got a good them ount? Right, they got a good amount.
You give him good amount this offseason for a one
year I mean first place Dodgers, but like them in
the Padres too, like neck and neck Padres are only
one game back, Like I know, Wes is gonna be
really interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Good, Yeah, it's gonna be really interesting, interesting to see
with the Giants, who have been playing well fallen off
a little bit. I think they had lost five of
their last six as if yesterday. It could be a
little off on that number, but I think that that's right.
So they're four and six in the last last ten. Okay,
so the four sixth luss and so I think kind
of interesting to see as we had the All Star break.
Are they gonna stay good? Are they gonna fall off

(01:11:37):
a little bit? They're an interesting team to watch. I think,
of course the Dodgers and the Padres again with the
neck and neck, but I don't know, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Gonna be fun.

Speaker 3 (01:11:45):
And then tonight does seventeen get a seventeenth homer on
May seventeenth, which happens to be show hit Oh Johnny
Day in Los Angeles?

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
So what fact way fun fact zero seventeen. There's so,
I mean, if there's anybody that can do like crazy,
like let's make a moment out of the day, it's
always right home runs, always on his bobblehead night, always insane.
But like I'm looking at the National League right now.
I didn't realize the Mets were this good. Oh, the

(01:12:16):
Mets are good.

Speaker 7 (01:12:17):
This good.

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
They beat the Yankees last night in their Subway series,
which I don't know if you guys saw. This was
so petty and I love it so much. Yankees fans
turn their backs when jan Soto came to the plate.
I love the pettiness. It's so beautiful. This is fandom.

Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
This is why being a fan is so much fun.
It's insane, like I just because that's all in good
fun too. I mean, i'd consider that all in good fun.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
It isn't good fun, but like New York, I think
I think he felt it early on, like not batting
next to one of the greatest hitters in the game
and Aaron Judge, like you're getting pitched to so much
differently once you're not next to someone like that. Another
reason why I think Otani is thriving so much more
with the Dodgers because he is surrounded by elite hitting.

(01:13:09):
But Wan Soto, like just I love a good like
hop like Otani did it obviously with Angels to Dodgers,
and then you got Soto doing it from Yankees to Mets,
like and.

Speaker 3 (01:13:22):
That's more intense than Angels Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
It is, ah, I will say, like from personal experience,
I full transparency. I was a born and raised Dodger fan,
like season tickets, my entire life, baby, head to toe,
like Dad was the one almost dropping me trying to
catch a foul ball like all growing up. So baseball
is like in my blood and it's my that was
our family sport. That was family time with dad and

(01:13:47):
I played softball and soccer were my two sports. And
then my first job out of college was with the
Angels as their sideline reporter.

Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
So I.

Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
I scrubbed my social media so nobody knew that I
was a Dodgers fan because I had known what that
rivalry more so on the Angels side. Yeah, so I
for ten years was a part of the Angels family
and they will always be a part of my family.
But like I gave it, like a year or two
kind of buffer after I left the Angels to kind

(01:14:22):
of talk National Baseball to reveal my real like I
was a born and raised Dodger fan. Fans had a
really hard time with it. But it's okay. They're in
different leagues. It's the National League and American League. I
love both franchises so much. I love both teams. They
will always be family. But yeah, that's it's there. I
get it from Niners fans. It's there.

Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
I'm from LA and they most of my followers are yeah, like,
excuse me, what.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
Are you doing the same things? Tickets, all the things? Yeah, everything,
all right, We're gonna take one more break here when

like to end our shows these days with the feel
good stories of the week, and my feel good story

(01:15:34):
of the week is about the second overall NFL draft pick,
Heisman Trophy winner and new Jogs player Travis Hunter. It's
Oliver Social this week, you guys. On a recent flight,
an older woman shared a story saying, I had the
most wonderful flight home. The nicest young man sat next
to me, offered me to help put my bag in

(01:15:54):
the overhead, help with my tray, and he was so polite,
saying yes ma'am, no, ma'am to everything. Everyone would just
be proud to have him as a son or a grandson,
she said. Then people started walking by and saying congrats,
asking him to take photos, and so she turned to
him and said, who am I sitting next to? Like,
are you an athlete? She noticed the Jags geared that

(01:16:15):
he was wearing and he smiled and said, yes, ma'am,
I'm Travis. I was just drafted by the Jags. She said,
I never would have guessed that he was a pro athlete. Jags,
you did good. I will be buying tickets and getting
my sons his jersey. I'm rooting me personally so hard
for Travis Hunter might be one of my new favorite players.

(01:16:37):
It doesn't take much to be a good person and
to make someone smile.

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Like it's not that hard, but we celebrate it because
it's amazing, especially someone like that does it, like just
second pick in the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Yeah, nonchalant. Oh I have no idea, not like not
bragging who he is, like, oh, you don't know who
I am. Like here, let me help you put your
bags in the overhead. Here, let me help you with
your tray, just like the kindest soul. And we heard
this too, like even from Dion when he was talking
about him. He's like, this guy is all about being

(01:17:13):
the best he can be on the field and off
the field. Like he's like a four point zero student too.
I think Watts, yeah, wanted to finish getting his degree.
Like doesn't go out and party, like doesn't drink, like
he fishes and he plays football and like that's what
he does. Wild. I'm rooting so hard, so hard for him.

(01:17:36):
I want to change my jags over under a pick. Aha.

Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
I think he's gonna make a big impact, but again,
like Trevor Lawrence has a lot to a lot to prove.
He's got a guy now. I also love that they
came out and said that they are going to allow
him to be a two way player, which they should.
He just won the Heisman for being a two way player.
Obviously it's not going to be every snap, and you
got to see, like, I don't know, is it going
to be depending on matchup, is going to be depending
on where he is kind of like ranking one to

(01:18:03):
two on both positions. But the last great player to
really be a two way player was Deion Sanders, And yeah,
that was his coach. So it's like he not only
was like a father figure and a mentor to him,
but like if you could learn from anybody of how
to be great at doing I don't want to call
it the impossible, but like kind of the impossible in

(01:18:26):
the NFL. But like, also you don't want to be
the team that missed the opportunity to allow something great
like that to happen. Look at Shoheo Tani, Like even
though they didn't have the success that they wanted when
they had him on the Angels, the Angels did a
great job of allowing him to dictate what he could
and couldn't do, and he is the greatest, the greatest

(01:18:50):
player of our generation right now. Like it's wild, like
they still got a lot to go but like I'm
going to go out there and say he's he will
be up there. He will be a there in the
goat conversation. Well, since you brought up.

Speaker 3 (01:19:07):
Feel good story of the week is this week is
his dog Dcoy's birthday. He posted on Tuesday, but I
think then all the content, but then today and has
a dog, and I appreciate this posted more Decoy's birthday
with not one, but two incredible cakes.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
And it just he's two, right, he is two? Yeah,
but he had a different cake the other day.

Speaker 3 (01:19:30):
I mean, I'm really I really appreciate the commitment to this,
but I think it just shows the human side of Otani.
And this is why his teammates love him, and this
is why when you're on a team of such superstars,
all the superstars love him. And except that he's just
next level because of the person he is as well.

Speaker 2 (01:19:46):
Well, yeh, I can first hand tell you he is
that guy I had. I was so lucky to be
able to be with him and cover him with the
Angels at the beginning of his career. And he really
is like that kind that good of a person that
dedicated to the that focused on being the best that
he can be on both sides of the ball, obviously
the first two way player we've ever seen, and to

(01:20:07):
win unanimous MVPs for it in every situation possible, like
he is that guy. H Tracy. Thank you so much
for stepping in and filling in today. We loved having you.
Thank you, Thank you so much for spending your Saturday
afternoon with us. We'll see you next week, same time,
same place,
