Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
I what did it all mean? That's coming right up?
Good morning everybody. It is Fox Sports Sunday. I guess
what he's back. He's Bucky Brooks. I'm ay throwing him
a broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. I
can't wait. My friend, my partner out last week, back today,
stronger than ever, the one and only Bucky Brooks.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Buck. How are you?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I'm great? Andy? What is going on? I missed you
guys last week?
Speaker 1 (00:28):
You did? You did miss us? Uh? You did?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yeah? I did.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Honest we missed you. We missed you. Not that we
didn't like Arnie, but uh, you're a guy.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I mean this is a partnership and we're hit together
and I did miss you. But I'm so happy here.
And really, what were you doing? I had no idea.
I hope you weren't sick or anything.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
No, I wasn't sick.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
So I was doing what they call back together weekend.
So you saw the coverage on the NFL network at
all the training camps. So I was, uh am im
on Saturday Jacksonville on Sunday for the coverage.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
I love it. You're big You're bigger than life. You
really are.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
You know, I got a couple of things to say here,
and I want to get it out of my system
right now before I forget all right. You know, other
people may start with the NFL holdout that's pretty big story,
or the players signings in the NBA.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
We know who that is.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
We'll get to that, and the big names that Lebron
wasn't there even NFL predictions, which I think is a joke.
But what we need to discuss you and I right
now is the changing face of American sports, how fans
interact with athletes, and how some fans have turned a
night going to the arena to see a game at
the trash. Yes, it's upsetting to me, and while others
(01:36):
will probably ignore it, we have to discuss. So we'll
touch on it, and we're going to ask the question why, why,
and how did this happen?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
And what am I talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
That sex toy I was tossed on to the court
Friday night during a WNBA game. I'm sure you heard
about that. What in the hell is going on? A
lot of people may have missed it. I think it's disgusting,
But when you sleep with the pigs. You act like
a fool, that's what you get. And sex always thrown
on the court of the WNBA game. Really has it
come down to this with fans our real concern? I
(02:06):
think I don't blame the women on this, okay, because
I never saw anything like this at a men's game.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Tell me why, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yeah, that's it's really a weird thing, right, It's weird
or weird a time where people come to the game
to make themselves part of this show. As fans, you
want to support your team, you want to support the
players and all of that, but it should never be
about you, and increasingly we're seeing more fans make it
about them than the game, and so to me, it's upsetting.
(02:36):
It's troubling that we've got to that point, but that's
just kind of where we are on the landscape right now.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
It amazes me, it really does.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
And you know, initially, when I first heard the stories
at the Friday game against Dallas Dallas and the Golden State,
I believe it was you know, I thought maybe the WNB,
this is really a sick thing, but maybe the WNB
was doing it for attention, you know, they're going against
the NFL.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Who knows.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
But they did catch the guy and they arrested him.
But still, in all I mean, what mindset, what person
would say, I'm going to a gate tonight, I better
pack this sex toy in with me because I want
to toss it on the court. Who I mean, I
look the guys. Obviously, I'm sure there's a guy who
did it, and they said it was a guy, they
arrested him. But what kind of a mindset would you be.
(03:20):
You've got to be a sick individual to do that, really,
and I don't see anything like that ever at men's games.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
I mean, yeah, Like, obviously it's a sexist, demeaning act
that you never want to see in a sporting event,
and so he should be punished to the full the
sustant of the law, because there's no place for that,
because what you have to remember is the WNBA, all
these things are still supposed to be family events, and
(03:47):
so now you have people who are having to explain
the incident to their kids before they probably should be
hearing about those kinds of incidents. So it's unfortunate. I
just can't imagine. I cannot imagine that happening at a game.
That's crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, I'm glad it's over. I just wanted to get
out of the way.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
It just really bugged me because you know, sports to me,
like you say, it's a family event, and really, how
do you explain that to your kid? But that's it
for another day. We just had to get it out
of the way and that's it. But now let's talk
about the NFL. With the NFL season is probably here,
I mean, do you consider it here? Don't you use
the NFL is here? Because when the Hall of Fame
game starts, that's the start of the NFL season, right.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Oh, yes here.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I mean it's all like we're at it right now,
like it's here.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
We're getting all of it. So there's no other way
to explain it.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
You had the NFL season is here, a preseason game,
Hall of Fame game kicked off on Thursday night. You
had the induction ceremonies and Trint ceremonies yesterday.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Yeah, the NFL season is here.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
You know, talk about the NFL Hall of Fame ceremonies.
Let's talk about Antonio the second. Here's a guy that
I don't he played college football, went to the University
of a play basketball.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Right heah as a basketball player?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, how does that happen? Really?
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Really?
Speaker 1 (05:08):
What did he just tried out?
Speaker 2 (05:09):
I mean, one of the greatest players ever, a Hall
of Famer went to a school that basically is somewhat
ignored at least in NFL circles and basketball too, University
of Akron. I mean it's kind of a low division
one school, played basketball there, ends up in the NFL.
Not only ends up there, but now he's got a
plaque in the Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
And Canton, Well, it happens because what scouts do.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Someone is responsible for the Midwest in the area, and
every now and then you pay close attention to players
in nonsports. You started digging into their bios and I
want to say Antonio Gates was recruited prominently as a
high school football player and elected to play basketball in college.
But sometimes you continue to monitor those guys in hopes
(05:52):
that you can make a conversion late like Antonio Gates did. Now,
the Chargers certainly didn't expect him to be the player
that that he was, but you give him an opportunity.
You see how it develops, and you know, sometimes miracles happen.
I remember being at a preseason game that year when
Antonio Gates was making a diversion in two thousand and
(06:12):
three and watching him, and he was fine.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
But there was nothing that stood out. I think at
the time.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
He might have been wearing number forty nine was his
jersey because he was a guy that was trying to
make the team. Little did we know that when we're
watching him and you kind of put a little grade
on him, you don't expect or anticipate him growing and
developing to the level that he became a gold jacket guy.
So hats off to him, Hats off to the Chargers
(06:38):
scouting department for identifying him, and more importantly, hats off
to the coaches, including one of my former college coaches,
Tim Brewster, for really pouring into Antonio Gates and helping
and become the player that he is.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, I think he did
go to Michigan State for a year and didn't play,
and he left and he went to Akron.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Yeah, he went to play football at Michigan State.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
I believe.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
Yeah, I don't think yourself on I think there is
something to that. I think Nick Sabra might have recruited
him too.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Interesting, Well good for him. I mean, I've always liked
Antonio Gason. What a what a story that is?
Speaker 1 (07:11):
It really is. Let's talk about that Hall of.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Fame game for a second, because I want to hear
your takeaways, because I want to know if the game
really and truly means anything at all, Because it means
something for Trey Lance, that's for sure. Two touchdown passes
charges over the Lions thirty four to seven. And the
question has to be now, is is the roof caving
in for the Detroit Lions. However, no one played. I
mean all the regulars did not play. Golf didn't play,
(07:32):
Saint Brown didn't play, Gibbs didn't play, Montgomery didn't play.
All these starters didn't play. And again I got a
secondary question to ask you on this. You know why,
in the fact that I even play preseason games, I
guess for the money. There's always the answer there if
these regulars aren't going to play. Look, you need workouts,
you got to work it out, you got to play.
You got to get into a game situation to get
(07:54):
in shape for the season. But coaches hold the players
back for fear of injury. So why even have preseason games?
Tell me, because colleges don't have preseason games, figure right
into and play the season.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
You want to have.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Preseason games for timing and overall development. You want to
see how your team can develop. You want to give
the young guys an opportunity to play and participate so
you can make those evaluations. Who deserves to be on
the team, who's not good enough, who needs to be
on practice squad, all those other things. Coaches needed to
go through the mechanics of a game day, how's the
(08:30):
communication going to be, what do we do with the
timeouse all of those things. So it's a way to
knock off the RUSS. So when we kick off the
regular season, the product isn't absolutely horrible. It takes a
while for the product to kind of get to.
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Playing.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
It's probably week three or four where you start beginning
to see like really good football, but it's ugly early.
And so this is to mitigate some of that process,
trying to accelerate the growth and development process, so we
do get to see good games early.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Okay, I hear what you're saying, but let's let's transfer
that into the college game, where the first game normally
is a big game like Alabama.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
LSU Florida. These teas teams are.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
Playing big time, big games early on obviously for TV. However,
there's no preseason games. They get right into it, you know,
so why do they do it? And the pros basically
have to have I mean back in the day, there
was like six preseason games.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Now they're playing like three. Some play four.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Yeah, but you know the thing about it, it is
a revenue driver because you just split the money with
the opposing team as opposed to the entire league. You
do like all the things that come along with it,
you know, going through the mechanics and those things, and
cutting the preseason down from whatever you said six to
four to now three. You have tried to meet fans halfway.
(09:52):
Eventually there'd be two preseason games, eighteen regular season games
and a way the league goes.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
But we're not quite to that point one yet.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Yeah, and you hear various players saying that they want
to play in the preseason, like too for the Dolphins,
he's telling his coaching staff he wants to play, he
wants to go out there. Obviously he knows how important
it is to get those snaps and get the timing correctly,
and in Cincinnati they got the Zach Taylor says he's
going to play Joe Borrow more. Joe wants to play,
but I think they're somewhat fearful. They want to hold
him back. So you know you're danned if you do.
(10:24):
You're danned if you don't right.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
A little bit. But you can't worry about injury per se.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
You got to play him. You want to get into
the rhythm. You don't want to wait. Because you've seen
the Cincinnati Bengals back to back years, They've had slow starts.
Joe Burrow feels like they haven't got enough work in.
That's why it takes them a while to get out
the gate. When it comes to the Dolphins this year,
they want to change that because they realize how inferior
(10:53):
their defense is and how they're going to need to
be able to play at a high level offensively to
make up for a defense that could be checked challenge
when it comes to getting stops, the preseason is ugly.
A lot of people don't like it, but there are
a lot of people that get jobs from it. And
I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna shout out Tony Jefferson,
a longtime NFL VET who's playing with the newbies. He's
(11:15):
playing with the guys that were on the line, and
yet here he is the veteran making an interception in
the end zone. Continue to show that leadership that you
want to see from your veteran players. He likely locked
down a practice squad spot at a minimum because of
his effort and his performance throughout the preseason.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Okay, Now, if there was one big takeaway, I think
for that game Thursday night, obviously everybody's looking at the
charges and saying, wow, you know, this could be a
team that's going to go far in the playoffs. Perhaps,
But what about Trey Lance? For Trey Lance, who was
his third team in five years, can we say that
he's may be coming of age because of this game.
A number three pick in the draft, everybody thought he
(11:54):
was a bust quarterback. Those for one hundred and twenty
yards two touchdowns. Again, I'm not so certain that means much,
but it's a lot better than if he would have
thrown four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Else My initial thoughts.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
This is why you always keep kicking the tires on
former first round quarterbacks. Al Davis used to talk about
if someone takes a play in the first round, that
talent is there. It's on somebody else to figure out
how to maximize it, how to draw it out and
utilize it. Jim Harbaugh is a quarterback whisper. When you
look at his track record Josh Johnson back at USD,
(12:32):
you think about Andrew Luck, You think about the success
that he had with Alex Smith, then Colin Kaepernick, how
he led Michigan to a title with JJ McCarthy. He
knows quarterback play, and what he does is he gives
them confidence and life to believe in the playing the position.
Trey Lance looked like a confident player that jumped in,
(12:54):
knew exactly what he was doing. The moment wasn't too big,
and now you have to sit there as the charges
and reflect like, Okay, we might have something here. We
might have someone who can be a legitimate backup quarterback,
or we have someone who can eventually be a trade
piece if we continue to showcase him and set him up.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
Interesting.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
So do you think Trey Lance right now has come
of age or the fact that it takes time in
the NFL, or as you say, is at Harbar that's
making him.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I can't say that he's coming of age based on
one game, but I think he's close.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
I like what I saw from him.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
I saw a guy that was very confident and decisive
with the ball. I saw someone who was willing to
use his athleticism to get to the edges. And there's
even more than they could do. I saw the plan
that the Chargers could utilize if he had to step
in for Justin Herbert giving an injury or anything like that.
So I would say I'm really encouraged by what I saw.
(13:52):
He's only played twelve NFL games, and because he was
a COVID product and didn't play, Look, he didn't have
significant reps before he entered the league.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
This is a chance to.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Give him those reps to see if he can develop
and be a guy that can become a viable starter
at some point in his career.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
And the funny thing is, I know the Lions had
something like five turnovers in that game. A lot of
the regulars has mentioned didn't play, but I was surprised
to hear Dan Campbell kind of like Mellow almost after
the game say, look, it's the first game, it doesn't
mean much. He wasn't going ballistic, so he knows basically,
this doesn't mean that much. I wouldn't think I don't
(14:34):
think Lion fans should be panicking right now. I think
this is not the Lions team will see when the
season opens.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
I think he's down playing everything right now because he
doesn't want to create a panic. But you don't like
seeing what you saw from the Chargers beating down his Lions.
They beat him and it was not a competitive game.
It was a sleeper, a snoozer for about three quarters. Yeah,
not a lot of positives. And as they continue to
struggle in the preseason, the pressure starts to mount on
(15:07):
the coordinators because the last time we saw the Detroit Lions,
man Ben Johnson was having fun. It was like he
was a kid in the basement playing the video game.
The offense wasn't effective and it wasn't fun. Huge shoes
for John Morton to step into and did on defense.
Kevin Fisher being the Kevin Shepherd being the decordinator, I mean,
(15:30):
Kenny Canny handle the.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Pressure being the guy. Can he make the adjustments?
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Can he helped the secondary mass some of the weaknesses
from up front. Man Aaron Glenn didn't get enough credit
for the job that he did keeping it all together.
They missed those coordinators, and I think we got a
little sneak pick at what life could be for the Lions,
whether these guys struggling like they didn't.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Yeah, and the big question I have, I only you
can answer that for me, because I'm too stupid to
answer the question. Yeah, they lost two coordinators ones a
head coach with the Chicago Bears. Is it that important
a coordinator or is the personnel more important? Because now
they're making a big deal in Cincinnati because Al Golden's here.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Well, basically, it's the same defense. Can he get it done?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
And if you have the same personnel with a different coordinator,
doesn't make that much of a difference.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
It can't make that much of a difference.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
I would say clarity of instruction, simplification of scheme, scheme
better suits to personnel.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
There are a few different.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Ways that a new coordinator can make life easier for
his players. But at the end of the day, it
is a Jimmis and Joe's league, and my Jimmis and
Joe's are better than yours.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I'm going to win and.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
Lets I help you. That's the facts of life. You
got to figure that out and you gotta roll with.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
It, all right.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
I understand that we'll leave that game along because it
didn't need much. And the takeaway there, I think is
Trey Lance. That's the big takeaway. But there's a bigger
story since we're talking about quarterbacks and Tom Brady enters
the picture over here. Did you hear about the discussion
that Brady got involved with Scotty Scheffler. And Scotty Scheffler
the great golfer world number one for one hundred and
fifty weeks in counting right now, he says he places
(17:10):
his wife and kids at number one and his passion
for golf somewhere below them. And Tom Brady comes and
he says, oh, why can't he focus on both at
the highest degree? First of all, why is Tom Brady
even concerned number one and number two? Brady I believe
plays football over family. Why he lost his wife? Think
about that? Why is Tom Brady even getting involved with
what Scotty Scheffler believes it. I have a lot of
(17:32):
respect now for Scotty Scheffer to say that putting his
wife and kids at number one, I'm sure you did
that too.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
When you played football, most people do.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
I think Tom Brady is really painting the picture of
a guy who's an ultimate competitor. And people will always
talk about putting family first in those things.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
But the reality of it is, when you.
Speaker 4 (17:55):
Are a high level blue hid player, sometimes those lines
can be blown. And for Tom Brady, I do understand
what he's saying with Scotti Scheffer, because I also would say,
why can't you focus on both? Why can't you be
a great golfer and a great husband and father and
all those things that he wants to be. There's not
(18:16):
an either or when it comes to those two things.
You can pick and choose when you engage in golf
in terms of determinents that you show up, but the
level of focus that you bring still has to be
at a championship caliber to be able to get it done.
And we say this in sports, how you do anything
is how you do everything. So the habits that you have,
the habits that have helped you become successful, those same
(18:40):
habits can help you become a terrific husband and father,
the same things that can make you a great player.
So Tom, I see Tom's point, but also respects Scotti
Scheffler's opinion. Ultimately, you get to decide how to prioritize
the things in your life, but one doesn't preclude you
from being able to be great.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
At the other.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Well said, But again, I don't even know why Tom
Brady would even get involved with a suation.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
They might have got asked, somebody might have asked, well,
fallout from his marriage to Giselle. Maybe they felt like,
as you said, hey, this is a guy that may
have the skills were balanced too far in the other
direction and he lost his family. Tom could then encounter
maybe that was worth it given his status as the goat.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
And he said he did for his family, that's why
he worked out so hard.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
He did it for us.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
I'm sure you did too. You worked that hard, you
did it basically for your family as well. Right, it's
it's a job. It's a full time job.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yeah, it is a job now.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
And so I think there's something to that that that
Tom is speaking to. But I also believe he's talking
about being the best and getting everyone's best against him
and being ready to fend it off as a champion,
because that's what champions do. They fenned off all the
competitors they don't run from the smoke. As the young
(20:02):
people say, they're about it. And I think the only
way to be prepared to deal with the smoke man
you have to be insanely passionate.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
About your job, your career. How you get prepared to
play at the high level.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
There you go, and speaking of the best.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Screen and one of the biggest stories perhaps in THE
nfl right now is Obviously Michael. Parsons he says he
wants to trade from The, cowboys but then he said
he wanted to. Stay But Jerry, jones tell, Me, jerry
what's going on With. Micah he, said you said That
michael took a deal that you had with him off
the table In march to that had a deal and
then it comes. BACK i think this was, Yesterday jerry
(23:07):
said to the, fans don't lose sleep over. This really
they were going crazy and practice to, fans they Want
mike go. Back how do you do? That Jerry jones helped,
me help me. Me you know What i'm, Thinking maybe
there's something wrong With. Michael maybe he's a. Troublemaker maybe
that's why he's not going to sign.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
Him you. THINK i don't.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
KNOW i can't say that he's a.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
TROUBLEMAKER i think that personality is, big and, LOOK i
think it is an acquired taste to. That that, said
the locker room is full of big personalities that get
along and exists in the locker. Room to, me this
comes down to The cowboys Wanting Michael parsons to take
a certain. Number Jerry jones enjoys the sparring of negotiation
(23:53):
that probably tickles his fancy a little bit as The
oi man From arkansas comes back.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
Right he just loves.
Speaker 4 (24:00):
It but WHAT i always say he does is he
leaves a trail of tears that make it hard for
the players to fully embrace Being. Cowboys they get their,
money but because of the way they have to go through,
IT i, mean it's not a pleasant, feeling and so
(24:21):
you may not get their best.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Effort you may not get them.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
To go above and beyond because they feel like you
don't go above and beyond when it comes to their.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Compensation just a weird situation that is really.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
AVOIDABLE i don't get it Because parsons is set to
make something like twenty one million and change this, year
so he's all set to, play but then he says
he wants to be. Traded and then on the other,
side out of the other side of his, mouth he
says he loves The. Cowboys he always wanted to play
for The cowboys so he could in fact. Play he
was a practice yesterday on the eleven and eleven, drills
(24:54):
but just on the, sidelines which is another screwed up
rule they do that they stay on the sidelines so
they're not find fifty two thousand dollars a day for not.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
PERFORMING i, mean, yeah that's become an in run around the.
Holdout in the spirit of the rule when it came
to the holdout where you want to eliminate, holdouts you
want to make it a significant consequence if you decide
to miss out on more than five practice. Days and
(25:23):
so people have, said, Hey i'm gonna come, In i'm
not gonna do any work UNTIL i get my contract.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Done the coaches have gone along with.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
IT i would say the teams that are probably the best,
teams they have hard and fast.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
Rules either your, here you're. Not if you're, here you're.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Working if you're, not you're, gone, RIGHT i mean that's
those are the facts of.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
Life so you get used to.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
IT i don't Get let's take a look at the
four years, Now he's had over fifty two, sacks fifth
most ever in a four year season for AN nfl.
Player his, Agent parson's, agent told them and did move
here to wait for the other edge rushers to, sign
because obviously it's going to raise his. Price and Then
parsons came back and said he didn't care about the other,
players and obviously he didn't because they had negotiations In,
(26:06):
march and he said it was a done deal back In. March,
Right so on the other side of the, court one
hundred and eighty. Degrees on the other, Side Trey, hendrickson
a defensive end for The Cincinnati. Bengals apparently he allegedly
ends his holdout with The, bengals but he hasn't signed.
Anything but, again he was on the sidelines the other
day of, practice so he won't be fined fifty thousand
dollars a.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
DAY i don't get.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
It, well there are a few things these teams have dragged.
Defeats so now we're talking about contract negotiations in training
camp where it's a distraction number one thing you hear from.
Coaches no distractions where the front officers ever created these situations.
Too Michael parson's, Agent dave, mcgetty his number one job
(26:48):
is to protect his. Clientele So michael maybe in there, saying,
Oh i'm good with this. Meal it doesn't matter as a.
Confident as a, mentor it's important for him to be, like,
no we need to do it the right way because
this is how you're gonna get your value in. Return
no one cares about the discounted, raid the hometown discount
or whatever they want their favorite players signed and in.
(27:11):
Uniform caroline has to get on, THIS i mean like
Not caro. Lot these teams have to get on And
cincinnati has to get on. It when it comes To,
hendrickson The cowboys got to make sure they take care
Of Michael parsons because he deserves.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
It you, know it's funny And Jerry, jones at least
with The Cincinnati, bengals you don't hear the back and
forth from. Management you never Hear Mike brown publicly say a,
word WHICH i think is good because you can't. Win,
okay because every Time Jerry jones opens his, mouth he
got to scratch edge and say what the heck's he's?
Saying Because Jerry jones said this the other, day just
because we signed him doesn't mean we're going to have.
Him what does he mean by? That because he was
(27:44):
hurt six games last? Year, REALLY i, Mean, jerry, really
they don't sign him at. ALL i, mean it's unbelievable,
really but last year he only missed four.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
Games that's what he.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
Did So jerry gets the stats, Right but what kind
of a statement is That just because we sign, him
we don't have.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
HIM i, mean you can say about any player you.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Sign, well you got to understand.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
This, Now jerry's trying to win the court of public
opinion by taking the negotiations to the. Public we've seen
fans are more sympathetic to billionaires than.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Millionaires and by putting this To cowboys.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
Fans for them to consume, it they now look At
Michael parsons as if he's not a team player because
the money clouds how we view the. Team, well, man
you're making thirty five million dollars annually or whatever it, Is,
like why aren't you satisfied with? That, well my value
is over forty given the success of the past, Rushers Miles, GARRETT.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
Tj.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Watt that's where the number. Is so The cowboys have a.
Choice they can either match the number or they can
wait for the prices to, skyrocket pay two franchise tags
and have to do it all over.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
Again has owned, them you, Know AND i laugh because
WHEN i hear talk, shows at least in The cincinnati,
area they'll call up and, Say Mike brown and The
bengals are. Cheap how could you say that an owner
is cheap when he pays that kind of money To
Jamar chase And. HIGGINS i, mean, REALLY i mean cheap
(29:20):
And Joe. Burrow how do you throw out the word
cheap to AN nfl owner and they're saying that now
About Jerry.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Jones it's, unreal it really, is you.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
KNOW i think that some of these, owners Like jones
And Mike brown love the negotiation.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
War for, them it's their Super. Bowl it really is.
Speaker 3 (29:38):
For some of.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
Them but all all owners aren't created. Equal Mike brown's,
money his wealth comes from ownership of the. Team he
wasn't a business owner, dead so let me buy a
team as a. Hobby the team is his hobby and his,
job so he may that be as liquid cash wise.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
As A Mary jones who made his money in.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Oil and they accountless stories for the thirty two owners
in terms of how they derived their. Wealth Sha khan
was in the automotive parts. Industry that's how he made
his fortune and then dropped it into the.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Team there are others who have, stories BUT i, MEAN
i get. IT i wouldn't want.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
To haggle and do those things because part of the
reason why these guys are rich is because they do
penny pinch when it comes to the bottom, line they
do try and make sure that everything is. Aligned that's
why we're having so many issues now when it comes
to the cap and those. Things it is, funny but
sometimes the billionaires don't like to pay. Out they like
(30:45):
to just hoard the money and look at, it keep
it under their, mattress as opposed to giving it. Out
Jerry jones knows for the last twenty six twenty seven
years how long the drought has. Been that Was cowboy
fans show up every, year, optimistic hopeful that this is their.
Year he's but, man he's the ring, leader Ringing, Brothers
(31:06):
barnum And bailey. Circus that's what he. Likes he's a
man with the big, heat controlling it. All but it gets,
old and it's hard to build a championship team when
your players feel. Disrespected say a lot About Michael, parsons
but they certainly disrespected him taking him through this spectacle
which should have been wrapped up before we even got
(31:26):
the training.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Camp do you think it's wise to go public like, this,
because as you, say the public basically is in the
corner of management and ownership rather than, Players so maybe
it's not a good move for a player to even
go public with these so called, holdouts because, really you
say it's a, holdout but The cowboys have his, Rights
Michael parsons' rights through twenty twenty eight with the use
(31:47):
of a franchise, tag so they still have his. Rights
so maybe it's not such a wise move for guys
Like Michael parsons Or Trey henderson to go media public
or go social media.
Speaker 4 (31:58):
PUBLIC i, mean, Yeah i'm well, no because sometimes if
you do, that Then Jerry jones can misrepresent what the situation.
Is and it's important in today's, time na, man you
can advocate for. Yourself Michael parsons is advocating for himself
by taking it to the, masses letting people, know, no, no,
(32:19):
NO i want to be, here but the REASON i
might not be here is because the owner's over here
playing these. Games fans can create depressure to Get Jerry
jones to Sign Michael parsons by not showing, up by
being very divisive and critical when they call into maybe his,
show whatever it. Is but the fans have a, voice
and If Michael parsons is able to convince the fans
(32:42):
that he has a compelling, case they can tighten the
screws up on the.
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Budgets let me run this by, too Because i'm kind
of closer to This Trey hendrickson, think because that's going
on here In. Cincinnati last year obviously led the league
with seventeen and a half. Sacks but get, THIS i
did the stats on.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
HIM i was just.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Curious there was seven games last year that he had
no sacks at, all no sacks at. All plus he
had no sacks against The Baltimore, ravens no sacks against
The Philadelphia, eagles and he had four sacks against a
Bad vegas. Team so you, KNOW i guess the total
figure leading the league is a good, thing but when
you delve into, It i'm not that. Impressed you need
(33:21):
four sacks Against vegas and nothing Against baltimore Of, PHILLY.
Speaker 4 (33:27):
I would say that you can't judge everybody by. Sacks
the more accurate stat would be what was his pressure
rate in those contests where he didn't get a.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
Sack was he.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
Always around the paint we couldn't quite get it, done
or did he have no? Shot so you have to
look at the tape to really ascertain what he could
be at the next. Level that's. It the production. Matters
and there's an old saying That Ozzie knewsome told me
and taught me when it comes to, evaluation particularly passed FOR,
(33:59):
us sack production, translates, guys we have sacks in, college
have sex in the pros and they're going to continue
to have sex because they know the business in terms
of rushing the. Pass and so there's some things that
you want to get done when it comes to The
bengals to give themselves a chance to compete in THE asc.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
Norm, okay, last but not, least let me run this.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
By i've always believed that, players at least in THE
nfl get paid on what they might, Do, okay not
what you've. Done not what you've, accomplished is what we
expect you to. Do that's why when you get, drafted
you get big money in.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Advance.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
Okay SO i don't think that they should Pay Trey
hendrickson on what he has done at thirty one years of.
Age they want to pay him what we'd like to
see you, do and at thirty, one maybe your skill
set is waning a little. Bit my way off based
on that you get paid on what we expect of.
You not what you've.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
Accomplished, Okay i'm gonna use your argument against. You you
said that over thirty he's you, know you're worried about
the age thing or. Whatever last five. Seasons top three
guys when it comes to sack Totals Miles, Garrett, Tjy Trey.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
HENDRICKSON.
Speaker 4 (35:13):
Tj watt And Miles garrett are both thirty or. Older
both of them are making salaries over forty million. Dollars
Trey hendrickson is. Third Trey henderson has the same. Age
Trey henderson's price should be what they're. Making The bengals
messed this up by. WAITING i understand. Why he's, like oh, no, no, no, no,
(35:35):
No i'm not giving you a.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
Discount.
Speaker 4 (35:37):
One you made me wait two years to get my
money until you don't want to pay.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Me you're going to pay ME.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Tj watt Or Miles garrett prices or i'mna sit off
on the.
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Side, well And i'll say, this he screwed up by
signing that. Contract was obviously he didn't believe in. Himself
that's What i'm. Thinking he didn't have to sign that
deal and he's still signed out for this.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Year, no, no, no, no, no, no, no no no.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
No that deal he signed was when he originally came
over From New. Orleans like they paid him so he
was a fifth round pick coming out of. COLLEGE i
think he played at one of The flaritera SCHOOL'S fau. Whatever, right, yeah,
yeah he fifth round. Pick he makes himself into A
Pro bowl, player he gets a payday from The Cincinnati.
(36:21):
Bengals the problem is The bengals haven't adjusted the, contract
like they haven't given him a raise over what he's,
done because remember they signed him based on what they
thought he would. Do he exceeded their. Expectations but now
they don't want to reward. Them there's something wrong with that.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
Too, well And i'll come back and say that he
has a, contract all, RIGHT i mean he's.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Signed he signed for this.
Speaker 3 (36:46):
Year, okay he.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
Did but every play in The National Football league has a,
contract and we see people get cut and traded every.
Day the teams don't honor the, contract watching the players
honor the contract to the same we're asking loyalty from the,
players but not from the. Teams and if we talk
about contract and, production, well if the contract is based
(37:10):
on performance and, production The bengals need to pony. Up
The bengals are trying to have it both, ways, like,
look you got a guy who's playing get a level
that is on par WITH. Tj watt And Miles. Garrett
they need to pay him forty million dollars.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
PLUS i hear.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
YOU i mean, again you're speaking as a, player BUT
i hear what you're, saying and you, KNOW i get,
IT i really. Do Bucky, Brooks Andy, furman we Have
Fox Sports sunday On Fox Sports.
Speaker 6 (37:36):
Radio the man is back and so is Asked, bucky
and it's. Next Fox Sports radio has the best sports
talk lineup in the. Nation catch all of our shows
At Foxsports radio dot com and within The iHeartRadio app
SEARCH fsr to listen.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Live All rights bucket coming right up about maybe nine
minutes before the top of the. Hour this Is Fox
Sports sunday On Fox Sports radio and we are live
for The Fox Splice radio. Studios so what are we waiting.
For let's go to LD. Ld you got a little
one For Bucky. BROOKS i, DO i. Do welcome, Back.
Bucky we missed.
Speaker 9 (38:08):
You there's just there's no place like, home and home
for that Is Bucky brooks And Andy ferman, here, Everybody, So,
BUCK i got a question for you. Here WITH nfl
training camps going, on as we as we, know a
lot of you, know a lot of eyes are on,
it and honestly a lot more opinions on things that
are just you, know warm up practices and, whatnot especially
(38:28):
with certain. Players my question to you, Is, dude is
there really like if it's like negative going on with
like quarterback play or certain like let's just say the
offense is struggling or quarterbacks are struggling in training, camp
is that actually a warning sign for how it could
be this? Season or is it nothing to nothing to
(38:49):
write home?
Speaker 10 (38:49):
About what do you?
Speaker 4 (38:50):
THINK i, Mean, look you're having so you have is
and so what you're normally doing in practice translates and
carryovers into the. Game so if you haven't struggled in,
practice you're likely going to struggle in the. Game when
we talk about the preseason doesn't, count but it does
matter what you're trying to, assess whether the habits, like
(39:11):
what are the processes, like does the process appear to
be solid where they have answers and they everyone in
his own page and they know what they're, doing or
do you see a team that falters because the personnel
doesn't good enough and the schematics aren't good enough to overtake.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
It all, Right Bucket, Brooks WHICH nfl team will have
the hottest quarterback competition this?
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Preseason hottest quarterback?
Speaker 4 (39:33):
COMPETITION i think right, now obviously everyone is looking at
The browns because we've never seen four. Quarterbacks ye for
it until we get to the second preseason. Game that's
when it get. Dicey but right, now The Cleveland browns
because all four guys can play in some. Capacity it's
just a matter of setting in.
Speaker 2 (39:50):
Order all, right my, friend all, right name THREE nfl
coaches that will enter this season on the hot.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
Seat?
Speaker 4 (39:58):
Three, okay So Brian dave all those in the hot seats,
squarely he has to figure out a way to uh
get those things. DONE i would, say be, Careful Ryan,
morris The Atlanta, falcons there's a lot of hopes and
things tied into. That they need to have a successful,
season uh to be off of. That and then the
(40:19):
final team on the hot, seat let's. See, LOOK i
think right there in your, HOMETOWN i know they don't
like to do away with The Zach. Taylor they've unachieved
the last two. Years if they have a slow start
and they're they're, MISERABLE i think they. COULD i, Mean
Mike brown does like to fire anybody because he's very fiscally.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
Responsible, well especially if you can they still have a.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Contract, yeah that's the key right.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
There all, Right, last but not, least we've been reading
and hearing about money disputes with THESE nfl.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Players we just told about. That how important really is a? Contract, really.
Speaker 3 (40:56):
It's important based on how you negotiate.
Speaker 4 (40:57):
It, Okay so if you negotiated the right way and
you have guarantees where you have these milestone moments where
they have to come to you and either make a
decision we're keeping you or you're dumping, you those things
matter to guaranteed money is all that matters to signing
bonus and the things that you see that are fully,
guaranteed not guaranteed for, inury but fully.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Guaranteed that's what.
Speaker 2 (41:17):
Matters here we, go, now can anyone take down those nasty?
Birds Bucky brooks has three teams that can do the.
More next right here On Fox Sports, sunday stay with,
us all, right just call them The Big. Three you'll
hear about them coming up next right here On Fox Sports.
Speaker 1 (41:34):
Sunday good morning. Everybody he Is Bucky.
Speaker 2 (41:36):
Brooks I'm Andy fremanwell, Live we're broadcasting live from The
Fox Sports radio, studios and away we, Go. Bucky how you.
Doing it's good to have your. Back everybody missed. You
we really.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
Did no thanks for the kind. WORDS i missed. CHATTING
i missed. Talking it was the kickoff to THE nfl
training camp thing and i didn't have a chance to
chat with, You So i'm glad to be.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
Back how did it?
Speaker 2 (42:00):
GO i, mean we know they have these shows all
over the, country you, know day by day going to
different training. Camps do you really get a chance to
learn anything or to meet with coaches and? PLAYERS i
mean it's almost like window. DRESSING i mean the fans go,
crazy but is anything really gained by those?
Speaker 4 (42:17):
DEALS i would, say, yeah you get a chance to
talk to. Everybody you get a chance to see what's going.
On those conversations give you a little insight and perspective
on what could be.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Happening so it's.
Speaker 4 (42:30):
Valuable and anytime you're in the presence of a team and,
players you have a little more, insight a little more
credibility because boots on the, ground so it was valuable
to be able to see what was taking.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
Place, yeah So i'm EXCITED i had a chance to do.
Speaker 2 (42:47):
It and when you get to these various, camps how
protective are these teams when you know the pr guy
won't let you talk to various players or? Coaches you
know how difficult is did it times to get an interview.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
If you're talking about on, camera those things have to
be done in. Advance you want to get those requests
in and it depends on when those players have already
talked to the. Media when it comes to side, conversations
that depends on. Relationships who do you, know how long
have you known? Them can you get a little time from?
(43:22):
Them or the head coaches and those. Things there's a relationship,
business so you've got to really work on building those.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
RELATIONSHIPS i hear what you're. Saying that's what it's like in.
Life it really. Is that's the way it, is no
doubt about. THAT i want to move away for a
second from THE, nfl just just for a, second because
one of the biggest stories this, week and it happened.
Yesterday luka. DONCIK i mean from THE La, lakers twenty
six years of. Age he signed the deal with The
(43:50):
lakers right, now one hundred and sixty five mil for three,
years and the, guys you, know it changed his whole.
Physique he's under cover Of Men's health. Magazine drop some,
TONNAGE i. Guess and the big story is not so
much That lucas, signed BECAUSE i think everybody knew he
was going to, sign no doubt about. That the big
story was That lebron wasn't there with The sonning big freaking.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
DEAL i, mean do you.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Think this story is that big of a deal or
it's kind of like slow time in, sports so people
are milking this as much as they. CAN i don't
think it was that big of a, deal BUT i
want to talk about it BECAUSE i don't think it
was that big of a.
Speaker 1 (44:24):
Deal that's Why i'm talking about. It what do you
think about?
Speaker 4 (44:27):
It, YEAH i don't think it was that big of
a deal that he wasn't. THERE i, think, look you
can make of it what you. WILL i Think lebron
is making a statement by not being, there, like, oh,
okay you just go hand over the team To. Luca
because all that conversation that we've heard over the course
(44:47):
of the off season whether they should trade, him whose
team is, it all that, Stuff so stay away from
it so you can look at it as he wanted
to steer clear of being in a, distraction or he's
letting them know he feels a certain type of way
without saying anything that would be like a passive aggressive
way of doing it without being in the locker. Room
(45:09):
it's hard to speak. ON i wouldn't say it's a big,
thing but it is a.
Speaker 1 (45:13):
Thing, WELL i will say.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
This you, KNOW i don't like pointing fingers at my media,
BRETHREN i really, don't but this TIME i will because
they're making a mountain out of A. Mohill AND i
think they're pointing fingers At lebron saying It's luca's. Team you,
know if it's a, team it's not one person's. Team
it's a, team, right And, LEBRON i don't care if
the guy's seventy five years of, age he's, forty he's
(45:37):
forty one years of. Age he's still average over twenty
a game last. YEAR i, mean and they say we're
not going to build the team around. Him stop, It
stop it. ALREADY i, MEAN i think Having lebron there
With luca adds a lot to That laker. Team will
they win it? ALL i don't. Know will they go
deep in the? PLAYOFFS i still don't know. That BUT
i think it makes them somewhat more competitive With luca
(45:57):
And lebron, Together that's All i'm.
Speaker 4 (45:59):
SAYING i, mean, yeah they're, competitive but then a championship.
Caliber the teams in The west are too good to
deal with. THEM i, mean they're, exciting it'd be great
to see them, play they're fun with, lots but in
terms of championship.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
Caliber, nah, no, no, no we're not there right.
Speaker 2 (46:16):
All, Right so The lakers could have Offered luca four
years for two twenty nine according to the, deal but he.
DIDN'T i, mean they're signing a two plus one. Extension
he becomes an unrestricted under neither twenty twenty eight to
twenty twenty, nine And i'll.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
Haveft ten years in the.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
League look talking about, money to, me it's it's ridiculous
because those figures don't mean anything to, me because it's
like stratosphere. Figures i'll talk about the actual move of
the signing Of. Luca, YES i knew he was going
to be A. Laker the other teams were not going
to get, him and they Got he went TO la
And lebron's.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
There Whether lebron plays or, not we'll.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
See but for the media to speculate that it's whose,
team that's a. JOKE i really do. THINK i think
it Harms Lebron. James it Really it makes him look
like a villain, really and he's a villain anyway to many,
people but it makes him look even worse that because
why would he be. There you, know if he showed
up At lucas news, conference he takes away From lucas, conference.
RIGHT i remember for sure when they had A hall
(47:15):
Of fame ceremonies up In, Cooperstown Pete rose would always
go there and all the players would complain because they
Say pete would take away from the actual ceremonies going.
ON i Know Johnny bench was a little upset When
Johnny bench got inducted that. Year Pete rose was there
and everybody who was congregating Around pete who was on
the street signing autographs with.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
BOOKS i, mean that's the way it.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
Is And lebron would have taken away from that news
conference For luca.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
Right, oh he absolutely would have taken some of the,
Shahnaway no doubt he would have taken some of the.
Shahnaway so you are one hundred correct in THAT i
do understand the desire that some want in terms of
having him show up and be a good teammate and
be happy for your, teammate. Etc BUT i also know
(48:02):
that IF i was shopped around or people are talking
about me.
Speaker 3 (48:07):
And all, That i'm also the.
Speaker 4 (48:09):
TYPED i may hold that a little bit may made
me feel a certain type of, way may or my
feelings well could.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
BE i, MEAN i don't. KNOW i can't answer that.
QUESTION i don't think anybody. Can lebron wasn't, there big freaking?
Deal all, Right luca's going to play for The. Lakers
let it, Go it's. Over that's. It it's a news
conference with a player. Signing that's basically what it. Is
and then they get bigger than life and it's. Not
so we're moving. On let's talk about THE nfl right,
now because we Got Bucket, brooks and no one knows
THE nfl better Than Bucket.
Speaker 1 (48:34):
BROOKS nfl dot. Com he writes for.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
Them he's A tv star at THE Nfl, network a
radio personality is a, scout he's a coach and he's
got all the answers and you are all in on
The Pittsburgh. Steelers now this is great because you didn't
hold the. Grudge you, know you like me a little.
Bit you got some questions With Aaron rodgers not one
of my. FAVORITES i, MEAN i didn't play with the,
guy and he doesn't know me From, adam BUT i
(48:56):
just didn't like his maybe off the field. Actions he's
A hall Of fame, player no doubt about, that and
you kind of criticize them, too but you didn't hold
that against them because you say The steelers are all.
In they lost their final five games last. Year but
now all of a sudden you change your. Tune Does
Aaron rodgers make that much of a difference in your?
Speaker 4 (49:13):
Mind he does in terms of like him And Mike
tomlin being on the same page when it comes to their,
confidence their competitive, arrogance the way that players react to.
THEM i underestimated that part of it UNTIL i heard
(49:35):
the love fest Between Mike tomlin And Aaron rodgers and
a mutual. Respect when you think About Aaron rodgers when
he went to The jets At no time did he
talk About Robert salah in the vein that he talked
About Mike. Tomlin there's a respect there that leads me
(49:56):
to believe that he not only will be, compliant but
he understands the hierarchy and he wants to do everything
in his power to please this coach and to please
the organization that didn't exist In New. York so that
is really important to me THAT i believe he'll submit
To Mike. Tomlin they can have a, partnership but he
(50:18):
won't overrun the head, coach which is. Key, offensively he
does exactly what they need him to do to win.
Games The Pittsburgh stils are notoriously. Conservative they want to
lean on the. Defense they want to play keep away
on the, offense low, risk don't turn it, over find
a way he's to win games in the fourth there's
not a better guy playing keep away Than Aaron. Rodgers
(50:39):
if you traditionally look at his interception, percentage he is
always at the top of the charts when it comes to.
Giveaways that gives The stillers a better chance of winning
because they're really limiting their way of losing in terms
of the turnovers in those things and then the final
part of, IT i will say, offensively they have weapons
that play to his stremps as a player Dk, metcalf big.
Speaker 3 (51:03):
Body people think about the vertical.
Speaker 4 (51:04):
STUFF i think more of the slants in breaking the crossing,
routes the.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Diagonals he can do.
Speaker 4 (51:09):
That Robert woods HIGH iq player that can adapt and
adjust to things on the. Fly that Helps Roman wilson
their picked last. Year then when you throw in their offensive,
line which is, young, physical, hungry and a back In
Caleb johnson's a perfect. Fit the offense could be much
(51:30):
better than people give it credit.
Speaker 2 (51:31):
For, well you're raving about the. OFFENSE i think the
defense may be better than the. OFFENSE i, Mean Aaron
rodgers certainly lifts them up Over Russell wilson And Justin
fields from a year. Ago but you Got Darius slay
And Jalen. RAMSEY i think the defense is gonna be
tremendous and it's always been a good. Defense And i'm
going to go on record and say. THIS i know
that you're rolling in on The Pittsburgh, steelers And i'll
(51:52):
tell you right, NOW i would not be. Shocked i'm
not predicting, this BUT i would not be shocked if
once again The Cincinnati bengals do not make the play
because they'd a lack of. DEFENSE i, mean you don't
see you're saying, now so obviously you don't.
Speaker 4 (52:06):
Know i'm saying, ooh just because that would be a big.
Thing three years in a row not doing. It all
amount of, Downey the amount of money they paid To Joe,
Burrow Jamar, chase and T higgins, significant BUT i wouldn't
be surprised given the fact that they haven't paid TREAT i,
mean they haven't Paid. Hendrickson and then they Made Shamar
stewart wait a while to get his time on task, matters.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
And so it could be another slow start out the.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
Gate And i'll tell you WHAT i. Mean here's the.
Speaker 2 (52:33):
Deal Aaron rodgers could have long drives to keep the
ball and keep the defense off the. Field the problem
with The, Bengals, yeah they have an explosive, offense but
they don't have that long drive. Offense they got big play.
Offense so when you have a big play, offense you
have four or five. Plays Joe burrow heaves it down
the field To Jamar chase thirty five yards at all
(52:56):
pop whatever it may, be and next, thing you, know
their defense is on the, field the other team.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
Scores that's the.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
Problem Aaron rodgers cut those long drives that eat up the.
CLOCK i don't see that with The. Bengals and then
they don't have a strong running. Game they just cut
their running back from the other day who picked up
from the culture year. Ago their running game is weak
and the defense is even.
Speaker 4 (53:14):
WEAKER i, mean, yeah those are problems because you can't
control the. Game as fun as they are on, offense
they don't have the ability to control the game against
heavyweights Anytime Joe burrow has to throw it forty plus,
times just on a recipe for, success sustainable. Success, rather
they can win a game where he has to go,
over but if he's throwing like that all the, time
(53:35):
hard for them to.
Speaker 3 (53:36):
Win at the end of the.
Speaker 4 (53:37):
Day physicality and, toughness, discipline, detail those.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
Things have to be a part of.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
It it shows up in trench, play offensive, line defensive.
Line but really on, defense can you lock in and
do the things that you're supposed to do with a
bunch of, babies unheroed.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Players can they do.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
That a new scheme with a new. Coach, yeah, tests,
yeah TEST i talked about.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
DEFENSE i think one of the most underrated defensive coordinators
in The National football Leaguers Terrell austin of The Pittsburgh.
Steelers and he was a guy that was In, detroit
did well In, detroit AND i remember when they were
looking for a head coach In. Cincinnati Zach taylor obviously
got the, deal But Terrell austin was one of those guys'
name was mentioned And i'd love to have seen him
get that.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
JOB i think he's an up and. Comer what do
you think About Terrell.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
Austin, So terrell AND i go all the way. Back
we worked together In.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
Seattle he was a secondary coach WHEN i was a.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Scout WHAT i would tell you.
Speaker 4 (54:34):
Is he's one of the best defensive coordinators in the
game in terms of taking his personnel and adapting to
what they can. Do by bringing Over Jalen, Ramsey Darius
slay The Pittsburgh steelers in they have a better suited
to match up with the teams in their division on the. Perimeter,
remember when you're building your, team you build your team
first to be the teams in the, division, second to
(54:58):
deal with the heavyweights your, conference and to potentially win
A Super bowl against a heavyweight in the other. Conference
by Having Jayleen ramsey And Darius slade. Matchup now they
can Neutralize Jamar chase And Ti. Higgins now they can
match up With Jay flowers And Rashad babeman Or New.
Hopkins they're better suited to win those matchups one on,
(55:21):
one so they can go and bring pressure and create
hey chaos and doing those. Things The stillers are undergoing
a bit of a transformation in terms of how they,
play but the expectations remain the. Same they still should
and will compete at a contender.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Level i'm going to run this value and maybe it's a.
Stretch here's my. Logic The bengals have had some problems
over the. Years all these they went to The Super
bowl three, times they. Lost they haven't won A Super.
BOWL i think one of the problems of The Cincinnati bengals.
ORGANIZATION i hate to make this The Cincinnati bengals, deal
BUT i look at the coaches that they have. Hired
(55:58):
they have never hired Except Forrest greg never hired a
coach who really had coaching, experience AND i think that's
a big. Deal David shula first, Time, okay the Late Paul.
Brown obviously he was there and they went to the
playoffs With Paul. Brown Sam wise never had a head coaching.
Job Zach taylor wasn't even a coordinator. Right Marvin lewis
great defensive coordinator with The Baltimore, ravens but never was
(56:21):
a head. Coach and he did. Well but he did
well In, cincinnati changed the culture a little. Bit dick
Lar bow tremendous defensive, guy but never a head. Coach Bill,
Johnson No, Forrest Greg, Guess bruce Kost, no and all
those guys.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
Failed they really.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
DID i think there's something to be said about a
guy who has been, there done that as a head,
coach knows how to handle, it knows how to do the,
pressure even doing the interviews as a team, face and
they have never done that In.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
Cincinnati AM i way off based on?
Speaker 4 (56:47):
That, no they're being cheap because when you go and
get coordinators like, that guys who aren't doing the second go,
round it's a much smaller package when it comes to the.
Contract that's why they've been able to do it and
get away with and then they see it through and
whatever deal you, signed you have the entire deal to
(57:08):
get it turned, around which is, great but if they
make coaching, mistakes you got to sit on it a
long time before you swap it.
Speaker 3 (57:16):
Out so there's some good things that they're.
Speaker 4 (57:18):
Doing BUT i would also say the way that they
operate and do business prevents them from being a perennial,
contender no.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Doubt now you mentioned a couple of teams that could
challenge those crazy wild, birds The Philadelphia, eagles and one of,
THEM i think the number one team you said with
The La. Rams and obviously you got to got a
Healthy Matthew stafford to do, that and he's been injured
a little bit and he's up there a little bit in.
Age but With Devonte adams And Pooka, nakoua that Gives sean,
(57:47):
McVay who's an offensive, guy a pair of guys that
could really do some. Damage and these guys are really
as you, say it's the changeable guys that are number
one receiver.
Speaker 3 (57:57):
Positions they are in a changeable.
Speaker 4 (58:00):
Guys and WHAT i love about The rams IS i
love their. Toughness this is a team that in back
to back years they get out to one and four
stars overcame them to still make their way into the.
Tournament Matthew stafford gives them a franchise quarterback who can
win a close game down the, stretch either either with
a game winner or fourth quarter. Comeback they have a
(58:21):
physicality that you love on offense Because Karen williams is
a true running. Back they block on the perimeter with
that talented collection of wide Receivers ramsey and those guys
SO i mean Not, ramsey but a talented core on
defense With young And Jared verse And Braden fists where
(58:43):
they can get after that the line of. Scrimmage and
then THE x factor for them Is sean. McVay sean
McVay knows how to get his Team brady to play
at a high, level particularly down the.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
STRETCH i wouldn't count them.
Speaker 4 (58:54):
Out they had The eagles dead the rights last year
and let them off the. Hook if they have to
go there route this, YEAR i, think, man you can
see a different, result all.
Speaker 2 (59:04):
Right and the number two, team Which i'm really shocked right,
now but there's a big question mark that he said
The Washington commanders are the team that could challenge The, eagles,
perhaps but unless they Get terry McLaurin in, THERE i
think that's a. Problem they Got Deebo Samuel Jayden daniels
is an up and comer at quarterback right. Now but you,
KNOW i Think terry mclaurin's a, big big question. Mark
(59:25):
AND i, think you, know they got to sign. HIM
i don't think will they SIGN i think they gotta
sign the. Guy but With Deebo samuel and he back,
THERE i think it's a big.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
DEAL i really.
Speaker 4 (59:33):
Do, YEAH i mean they should sign.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
Him the thing about it is the.
Speaker 4 (59:38):
Number what is the number coming down to the going
rate for elite receivers thirty five million dollars you know. Annually,
Well terry McLaurin is at that thirty year. Mark when
you get to thirty years, old you begin to think, that,
hey this is a declining depreciate an. Asset don't want
to invest too much in them because we're. Stuck deals
(01:00:00):
To DeVante adams And Mike evans sign crushes his market
because they signed two year forty one, million two year
forty four million dollars. Respectively terry McLaurin is in their
category while also being two years older Than Dk metcalf
who signed a big deal In. Pittsburgh so he just
falls at a weird, spot giving his, age his production
(01:00:24):
and the salary. Considerations eventually they'll find the middle. Ground
but it's gonna take the. Look it's gonna take the
player to relent a little, bit to give up some
of that to get signed and sign.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
His due and, Defensively Von, Miller Bubby wagner and last
but not, least you mentioned The Green Bay packers.
Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Will do this very.
Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Quickly With Jordan love right, there he can make them,
contenders as you say in THE, nfc and really and
truly they got a good running back, too And Josh.
Jacobs so you Know Green, bay you, Say washington and
The rams are three teams that you think can knock
go off The Nasty.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
Birds, YEAH i, mean that's that's WHAT i. THINK i,
mean it's gonna be.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
THAT i got a lot of out incoming about Genn
hurst and My twitter mentions in my, Inbox but that's.
Speaker 3 (01:01:10):
OKAY i, mean.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
Everyone can't skate to the title back to, back so
we'll see what it looks like for.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):

one player only stands alone in.
Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Defense will tell you who? Next all?
Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
Right speaking out will hurt, You and that's right around the.
Speaker 1 (01:02:05):
Corner He's Bucky.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Brooks how many defirm when we speak out all the,
time it hasn't hurt. Us by the, Way we're alive
from The Fox Sports radio studios and we're going to
have Y ana in about ten twelve minutes from. NOW
i gotta ask you, this you played the, game you
were a, pro you played in The National Football. League
fifty three guys on the. Roster where is there any
guy on your team that you really saw that the
(01:02:28):
opposition would pick on, them give them an extra, kick
spit on them when they're, down maybe even bite.
Speaker 1 (01:02:34):
Them i've heard these crazy horror.
Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Stories and if, so did you see players on your
team defend this.
Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
Guy or is it every man for? Himself?
Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
OH i, mean if you're talking about someone doing, that,
ONE i would say that there's no player that's going
to last in the league. Dead if they, can't they
can't fin for themselves that they're gonna make. It. Two
if anyone sees a teammate that is being used in like,
that it is an unridden.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Rule that is your duty and obligation to protect your.
Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
TEAMMATES i can give you a story WHEN i was
playing In Kansas city AND i was playing as a
as a vice a hold up guy on punt OR
i mean a gunner on punt, team And Rodney, harrison
who should be in The hall Of, fame did a
really good job of holding holding me up and he
threw me to the ground and when he got me
to the. Ground he punished me and helped me. Down my,
(01:03:28):
Teammate James hasty at the end of the play came
over and Threw ridney off of me and protected me
BECAUSE i was a. VICTIM i was being bullied because
LOOK i lost that individual. Play but that speaks to
what a teammate is supposed to do in a team.
Sport you're supposed to protect your Own so, nah there's
no one that is going to allow someone to be
(01:03:49):
a repeated victim of bullying on the.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Field that's like the.
Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
Code the code for a team is you always protect
your teammate over.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Everything thank them after THE.
Speaker 4 (01:04:01):
I, mean you tap them. Up and he, said don't.
MEET i don't ever want to see you getting your
tail kicked like.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
That so he gave.
Speaker 4 (01:04:07):
Me he gave, me he gave me a stern talking
to as a younger. Player he's, like, man don't you
ever get your tail kick like that all the? DAY
i can't keep coming out here saving. You but, yeah
THAT'S i, mean that's that's what you do as a.
Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
Teammate you. KNOW i love.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
That, Okay so so now we're setting the stage, here
and there was a podcast this week to Show Me something.
Podcast i'm not even going to give you the names
person who did. It we'll talk about that, later but
we have to Show Me something. Podcast let's take a.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
Listen it literally like pisses me, off and people are,
like she's not the face of.
Speaker 7 (01:04:39):
The, league who would, What, Sabrina, No, no there's really,
good well known people in our.
Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
League i'm Not i'm not discouating, them like we have
a lot of badasses in our. League, like, hell, yeah of,
That i'm off for. That but when people will try
to argue that she's on the face of our league.
Speaker 10 (01:04:54):
Or if our league would be where we're at without,
Her you're.
Speaker 1 (01:04:57):
Dumb, yeah you're literally. DUMB i love.
Speaker 2 (01:05:01):
It, okay That's Sophie cunningham of The Indiana fever on
The Show Me something podcast torching the critics Of fever
teammates who kind of pick on and Destroy Caitlyn. Clark,
okay and again we're talking About Caitlyn. CLARK i, mean
so what would the sports shall be Without Caitlyn? Clark conversation,
obviously but why would she be the only? One why
(01:05:23):
has no one else come to her? Defense and more than,
that why are people even picking on? HER i don't get,
JEALOUSY i mean. ENVY i MEAN i love What sophie.
Said And sophie came over from The Phoenix, mercury so
she hasn't been With indiana for a long. Time she
knows That Caitlyn clark, is in, fact the face of the.
League there's great players in the, league but there's great
(01:05:43):
players on her team as. Well Where's, Boston Eliah. Boston
why didn't she come up and defend. HER i don't get.
Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
It you're a. Team it's all for, one one for,
all isn't.
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
It and why Is Sophie cunningham the only one who
had the gounis to go out there and to Defend Caitlyn.
Clark And i'll tell you right, now it's gonna HURT
i think it's gonna hurt, Her and it's going to
make a split in that, team don't you?
Speaker 1 (01:06:06):
Think and the worst thing is to?
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Me and Maybe i'm really going out in the deep
end here That sophie was white And Caitlyn clark is
white and it's gonna be a separation made between the
white and black.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
Players Maybe i'm, wrong AND i HOPE i am.
Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
WELL i, MEAN i don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
THAT i think there's a Little Kaitlin clark fatigue, because,
man all we want to do is talk About Kaitlyn
clark as it relates to THE, wnba and we treat
her like she's a damsel in the. STRESS i, mean
it's a competitive. Environment no one is going to kiss
her tail every day and, say oh my, god thank
You Kitlyn clark for blessing us with your presidence in THE.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
Wnba it is.
Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
A competitive league where people are competing to. Win no
one is going to baby her and come at her like.
That if, anything because As sophie, says she's the face
of the. League she's going to get more heat and
competition and angst and acrom.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Like that's what it.
Speaker 4 (01:07:02):
Is no different Than Lebron james in the, League no
different than the top players in the.
Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
League that's what people. Do it's an alpha.
Speaker 4 (01:07:10):
Sport so when you do, that you're gonna have competitors
that love competing against you and they're not going to back.
DOWN i think there's this sense that everybody should Give
Kaitlyn clark a pass because she's good and she had a,
great huge fan following coming into the.
Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
League that's not how it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
Works, RIGHT i, works BUT i can't.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
PICTURE i can't think of any other outstanding player in
any sport that's been picked on or kind.
Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
Of what do we mean by what do we mean
by picked?
Speaker 1 (01:07:44):
On, okay, Well sophie, said AND i read the article
the other.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
Day she said that when she was In, phoenix players
wanted to quote zero in On Caitlin clark last year
when she played for The.
Speaker 1 (01:07:55):
Phoenix, mercury zero in like hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Her, OKAY i don't think anybody in THE nba out
there to Hurt Steph, curry Well.
Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
James So i'll take a different when we talk about zero,
IN i would say we zero in on players that
come into the league to test, them to see how
good they really. Are because here's what also has, happened,
right and it's Not Kaylyn clark's.
Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
FAULT i would say.
Speaker 4 (01:08:18):
This Kaylyn clark has always kind of been really good
about the, media but like got she has some ways
about her where maybe some of her arrogance shows out
on the, court but we all are competitively. Arrogant, however
the media has made it this case where many they
(01:08:38):
have her as the Second coming and that people are
supposed to Drop rose pedals down as she walks onto the.
Court that's never gonna. Happen so the first thing that
you do when you face another good, player If i'm
not more talented than, them THEN i got to test their.
Toughness my job as an opponent is to see IF
(01:09:00):
i can get under her, skin IF i can throw
her off her a. Game sometimes that's through trash, talk
sometimes that's through physicality that's ramped. Up my job is
to see is she who everyone says she? Is and
if she battles through that and she shows, that but
then there's a level of respect that she earns from.
(01:09:20):
That but respect is, earned it's not, given and so
she has to be tested before they are going to respect.
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
Her in the, league every young player goes through.
Speaker 4 (01:09:31):
That and SO i just feel like on the, outside
we want to skip steps and just not only anoint,
her but we don't want her to have any. Struggles
we don't want her to have any opposition when it
comes to challenging her or. Whatever and that's just not
realistic when it comes to competitive sports at the highest.
Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
Level, OKAY i hear what you're, saying and obviously a,
baseball a, star a, slugger you got to pitch it
a brushing. BACK i get. THAT i challenge, Him let's
see how good you. Are can you handle it? Right
but this is What cunningham said that when she was
with The Phoenix mercury last year When clark was a,
rookie she said teammates planned to zero. Win as we,
mentioned here's a. QUOTE i know the talks In phoenix
(01:10:14):
had in their locker. Room it was, like we're going
to show her what THE w is really, like meaning THE.
WNBA i get it to a certain. Extent every rookie
coming into the. League that's how you're going to treat.
Them but there's just more for. Her it's her second
year now being on her team and seeing, it like.
Speaker 1 (01:10:33):
What are people?
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Doing it's just too, Much and maybe it is so
when she Played connecticut this, year they just give her an,
ELBOW i mean just shoving. HER i, mean, LOOK i
got the fatigue. Too i'm a Little Caitlin clark fatigue.
Too it's enough For ready BECAUSE i watched the games
THAT i was sucked into the league by watching. Her
but there are other great players AND i enjoy watching
(01:10:54):
the game because it's not like THE. Nba it's not
all three point. Shots there's basketball being, played and she's not.
Alone there are some great players in that, league AND
i got the. Fatigue but they are kind of going
out after, her and you know it shouldn't.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
HAPPEN i think she proved herself after last.
Speaker 4 (01:11:09):
Year, okay so what they supposed to let her just
walk through and score thirty every night because she's?
Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Good, like what what do we want to what do
we want to take? Away what do we want to? Change?
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Like what should how should they treat? Her how should
the WA nba opponents treat? Her like not touch? Her
she's a no contact. ZONE i just don't understand what
people want from opponents in dealing with, her because there's
a scoreboard and the task is to, win and if
she is one of The Indiana fever's best, players our
(01:11:43):
job is to neutralize. Her and if there is an
opening that is created where she doesn't react or respond
well to, physicality we're gonna keep giving her a health
needos of physicality until she either responds better to it
or we make her.
Speaker 3 (01:11:59):
Break that's just what it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Is i'm, saying you're, Right but you know, what Maybe
i'm even more, concerned not so much how she's. Treated
Maybe i'm more concerned That Sophie cunningham's the only one
that spoke. Up maybe that bothers me even more the
way she's. Treated why is only one teammate doing?
Speaker 4 (01:12:17):
That? WELL i, MEAN i think it depends on whatever
One sophie got asked about it. TOO i think the
actions really matter more between the lines than talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:12:27):
IT i would say that even.
Speaker 4 (01:12:29):
On her, team some of her teams may get tired
of the question Regarding Kaitlyn clark when it's really a.
Team so the way that they show it is by
the way that they. Play if someone knocks her, down
do they run over and pick her up?
Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
Better?
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
Yet do they run over and challenge the person that
they knock. Down Sophie cunningham has been willing to throw
blows when people have come at her heart to the
rest of her, teammates that's where you test. It But
i'm telling you, now IF i was coaching The Connecticut,
son the first thing That i'm going to do is
tell Her Kaitlyn clark does a no layup.
Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
Rule if she steps into, paint she gets.
Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
Whack let's see how tough she is is no different
than in, football when there's a great receiver and he's
running across the, middle we have to knock him around
to see if they have a little kryptonite that we
can utilize against. THEM i don't see it as any,
Different like this is what you should do when you
(01:13:27):
face a great. Player it should be ramped. Up and
when someone is celebrated Like Caitlin clark has been celebrated
in media, circles you absolutely are going to get more
heat because you got more spotlight on.
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
You you know.
Speaker 2 (01:13:42):
What i'm seeing the light now And i'll tell you
why BECAUSE i REMEMBER i was told this And i'm
not even going to mention his, name BUT i usually.
Do but this is kind of a very sacred. SITUATION
i heard that there was a pot usually in the
locker room for the defensive, guys and they throw money
in that, pot and whether knocked the quarterback out.
Speaker 1 (01:14:01):
In the, game they got the money in the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:03):
Pot, right that's, True, right That's i'm making this. UP
i was told this by a good friend of the
mine who played for The bengals on the defensive. Line
he told me this every game they did, That so you're, right,
OKAY i mean it's extended beyond.
Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
THAT i mean.
Speaker 4 (01:14:19):
Yesteryear LIKE i, mean so people talk about Boundy, gate
and everyone was outraged at bounty gate and those. Things
BUT i played on teams where that stuff was. Discussed
if we send someone to the sidelines and they don't come,
back there's five hundred dollars or one thousand dollars on the.
Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
Deal we talked about the big kids.
Speaker 4 (01:14:37):
And knockout, shots and so everyone was outraged By Greg
williams salacious or sensational talk when it came to it
when he was standing in front of his. Defense BUT
i can tell you that's. Common look whether basketball or. Football,
look it is a violent. Sport it is a contact
(01:14:59):
sport in, sport and The Bad Boy pistons made a
living out of doing. That Pat riley in The New York,
knits they made a living out of being. Physical if
you look at the collegiate game Now South carolina Under Dawn,
staley they play a physical brand of basketball where they
test your. Toughness toughness is a part of, it and
(01:15:21):
So Caitlyn, clark if she's having, issues she has to
exhibit more. Toughness and you have to understand and be
okay with THAT.
Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
I don't usually do, this But i'm backing up the.
Truck i'm spinning around right, now AND i think That sophie.
Cunning it would have been better start up by not
answering the question at, all really.
Speaker 1 (01:15:39):
Mean, anything anything part of the, game.
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
If, anything what it would make me do If i'm an. Opponent,
oh she doesn't like. That if it's being talked about
in the locker room And sophie has to come out
and defend her, honor, oh let's make sure we scale it.
Up and in, fact there you.
Speaker 3 (01:15:55):
Go we're gonna Get sophie.
Speaker 4 (01:15:56):
Too we're gonna knock her down To we're gonna see
how tough she is, too because she, thought, well let's
see how tough they. Are because what happens is when
they become more worried about the, contact they're less focused
on doing their, jobs which is.
Speaker 3 (01:16:13):
The intent of being physical with. Her it's a distraction.
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
To keep her from focusing on the task at, hand
which is scoring. Buckets so if she's worried about winning the,
fight she can't be focused on getting, thirty which is
exactly what we want to.
Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
DO i love that you're, RIGHT i, mean you're one
hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):

Speaker 1 (01:17:15):
Dumper you're like little? Dumper? Yeah are you ready for the? A? Una,
okay let's figure rock those, brains. Gentlemen these stories needed.
ASS i think we need a ruling on. This yay, nay,
yeah all, right L d take it.
Speaker 9 (01:17:32):
Away, Alright, well let's start it's time to, play, ya
and it's time to Play. Nay let's hear for the.
A's let's here for the na's on this. Everybody SO
i got one for us. Here so yesterday we had
a bit of some history going ON mlb At this was.
Speaker 10 (01:17:49):
At Bristol Motors. Speedway we had The braves versus The.
Speaker 9 (01:17:53):
REDS i was about to be you, know Mixing nascar
and and. Baseball, unfortunately you know it kind of well
got rained out right in the first.
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
Inning so they're still, there still there.
Speaker 10 (01:18:03):
Suspended, yeah they're gonna play later on.
Speaker 9 (01:18:06):
Today so but that, aside yeay or nay on moving
into A nascar stadium and playing In, Bristol, yeah, Nay Andy,
BURMAN i.
Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
Say yay because if you got eighty five thousand plus,
LUNATICS i want to see.
Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
It obviously you got to say. Yay why they're gonna,
GO i have no.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
IDEA i heard stories that there were a lot of
seats you couldn't even see home play to third. BASE
i think there are people just want to say they
were there for the, record and that's why it's going
to be a, record BECAUSE i think the old record
of eighty three thousand and change was something like back
in nineteen fifty four when The Cleveland indians played The
New York.
Speaker 1 (01:18:39):
Yankees SO i say, Yay.
Speaker 3 (01:18:42):
YEAH i say. YAY i like.
Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
This the different, venue different set. Up there's some excitement about.
It so, Yeah i'm all about. It i'm good with.
Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
This i'm good me, too all, right? Three, YEAH i love.
Speaker 10 (01:18:53):
It, well we're going to go to AN nba for this, one.
Speaker 9 (01:18:56):
Guys so the word around THE Nba Luka donsich is
more formidable because there's less of. Him he's dropped a
little bit of some, weight and by a LITTLE i
mean a.
Speaker 10 (01:19:07):
Lot but will it really affect his?
Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Game?
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
Yay r, Nay Bucky brooks.
Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
Won't it won't affect his defensive game because defense is
about want To, offensively he should be. Good he should
have more stamina to be able to go to the.
Hoop but for someone who can get thirty and eight every,
NIGHT i don't know how much it's gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
Change but it's good to see him in. Shape that's
a big part of.
Speaker 1 (01:19:28):
It you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
Know i'm gonna say, yay But i'm not gonna know
if it's a positive. Effect this GAME i think will
affit this game in some way BECAUSE i think people
are used to playing a certain body weight and this
is changing. Him so he would be like If shack
dropped seventy pounds when he, PLAYED i think it'd be
a different.
Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
Ballplayer so, yeah it's going to affect. Him but we'll
see in what.
Speaker 10 (01:19:46):
Weight all, Right, well we're gonna go from THE nba
to THE.
Speaker 9 (01:19:51):
Nfl the BIGGEST qb turnaround the season will Be Justin
herbert with The chargers.
Speaker 10 (01:19:56):
Under Jim harbo's. Guidance yay r.
Speaker 1 (01:19:59):
Nay on this and bingo yes.
Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
JAY i Think Jim harbor is a quarterback Mentor Justin
harpers ready to bust.
Speaker 1 (01:20:06):
Out that's WHY i say.
Speaker 4 (01:20:08):
YAY i don't Think i'm gonna say nay BECAUSE i
feel like he's already had a transformation on his. GAME
i don't think the numbers are gonna be, great but
the wins go, up numbers, down wins.
Speaker 9 (01:20:19):
Up, well we go from numbers, down wins up to
fins up, here, Guys so we had two at tongue
OF I. Loo The dolphins oft INJURED qb says on
Preseason i'm not too cool to get some, reps but
is it wise for him to play more in the?
Speaker 10 (01:20:34):
Preseason?
Speaker 3 (01:20:34):
Yeah or?
Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
Nay Bucky Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:20:37):
No limited.
Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
Exposure you want to make sure that you get to
the starting. Line he is the most important piece of
their offensive. Puzzle we've seen them fall off without.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Him he has to.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
PLAY i say nay BECAUSE i think it's. Nay he
shouldn't been playing. Period, really what happened to? Him there's several.
Concussions did he take like karate classes to learn how
to fall? PROPERLY i mean he's like one fall away
from THAT. CT i, MEAN i worry about, him but
he's a great, player but very. Vulnerable SO i say.
Speaker 9 (01:21:08):
Nate our final one Guy's Lyell collins at thirty, two
hasn't played a regular SEASON nfl game since twenty twenty,
two yet The cowboys signed him the other.
Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
Day, yeah your name? Final?
Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
Yeay.
Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
Andy let's hold on because we're moving along to the next. Segment, okay,
explosives you'll love. Him we'll have a next few On.
Fox stay with, us all, Right let's call these teams
The Big five and we'll tell you why.
Speaker 1 (01:21:32):
In just about a.
Speaker 2 (01:21:33):
Minute good, morning, Everybody this Is Fox Sports, sunday A
Fox Sports radio he's bucking broke Some Andy, furman and we're.
Speaker 1 (01:21:39):

Com the way tire buying should, be the way football
should be, spoken plate and written and ON tv as.
Well my, Guy Bucky, Brooks let's get it. Going how
you doing hour number three?
Speaker 3 (01:22:35):
Here? Man i'm Good, andy last, hour ready to?
Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
Go you KNOW i heard The Sports update By steve De,
seger top of the. Hour how does? This was this
like a typographical mistake in THE Wnba minnesota one, Eleven
vegas fifty?
Speaker 1 (01:22:47):
Eight how the hell has that?
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
HAPPENED i, mean that's kind of.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
CRAZY i don't know what is going on In, vegas
but a team that has won titles in recent, years
they're not playing very.
Speaker 1 (01:22:57):
Well one eleven. Fifteen that's.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Unbelievable, OKAY i want to clear up a couple of
things over, here some odds and, ends IF i may with,
you because only you can answer.
Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
This.
Speaker 2 (01:23:06):
Okay The cowboys Signed Layel collins and he comes back
to replace the offensive Tackle Tyler, guiden who's. Injured let
me do a little background this, guy and you know,
Him i'm. Sure thirty two years, Old collins played for
The cowboys from twenty fifteen.
Speaker 1 (01:23:21):
To twenty twenty. One in twenty twenty, two is In
cincinnati with The.
Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
Bengals he has not played in a regular season game
since he suffered a serious knee injury when back in
twenty twenty, two back In week. Sixteen he has spent
less than two weeks of The cowboys practice.
Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
Squad in twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Four he was released by The Buffalo bills last summer
if he failed to make the bills fifty three man.
Speaker 1 (01:23:44):
Roster now he's coming back for The.
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
Cowboys don't you think they could have got someone else
who has played the game who has been cut this
year from a team rather than a guy who hasn't
played in the.
Speaker 1 (01:23:53):
League and what two? Years three? Years how does that?
Speaker 4 (01:23:56):
Happen, familiarity know what he's, about relationship that he might
have had With Jerry, jones could have played in, it
give me another chance to do this or. Whatever sometimes
surprisingly we talked about this. Earlier sometimes, lawyers he is
shown to. Players remember The cowboys have done this. Before
(01:24:17):
they Cut Ezekiel ellett and Brought Ezekiel elliott.
Speaker 1 (01:24:19):
Back, well they did that because when he, retired he
wanted to retire A.
Speaker 4 (01:24:22):
COWBOY i, think, no, No but he. Played Ezek elliott
played for. Them you know it didn't go, great but
he came back and. Played so this isn't uncommon for
The cowboys to dig back into their past to give
guys another.
Speaker 1 (01:24:35):
CHANCE i hear what you're.
Speaker 2 (01:24:37):
Saying he was an undrafted, rookie but he missed the entire.
Season in twenty twenty at A nick. Injury so you,
know he's banged up and he hasn't. Played we'll see
what he. DOES i wish him. WELL i have nothing against,
it BUT i just questioned the fact that there had
to be someone out there better and maybe even younger than,
him was played.
Speaker 1 (01:24:53):
RECENTLY i just don't understand some type of.
Speaker 4 (01:24:57):
SITE i, mean BUT i, mean maybe doesn't mean he's
gonna make a. Team maybe they did him a solid
just by giving him a. Chance you, know you never
know what the circumstances are behind why he's continuing to,
play why he hasn't, retired why he wants to, play or,
whatever and so this may be hey, man this see
if he has, anything you, know work him. Out let's
(01:25:17):
look at. Him what can. Hurt it's a no lose
proposition for The. Cowboys if he can't, play you cut.
Him if he, can, though maybe you get a valuable
vet that you're gonna add to the.
Speaker 2 (01:25:27):
Rotation you, say, okay, now we have not mentioned your
friend's name once, today AND i.
Speaker 1 (01:25:35):
Think we need. To and his name Is Dion, sanders
and the defensive.
Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
Back of The Colorado buffalo has caught a Stout meyer
said That Dion sanders is more than a. Coach he's
like an uncle who has been in his life since
pretty much the day he was.
Speaker 1 (01:25:49):
Born that's pretty. Heavy that's. Everything and he said.
Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
To seeing him back at the team meetings and seeing
him swagger the sidelines in camp this. Week as you,
know he was ignosed with cancer and he's back right,
now and the team says it's just a breath of fresh.
Air i'm not so certain that it's a healthy move
for him to be. Back but he has aggressive bladder.
Cancer Right they removed his bladder to hold off an
(01:26:15):
aggressive even the more aggressive form of. It, okay but
this guy had some toes. Removed now his bladder's, REMOVED i,
mean and he's still. Coaching god bless. HIM i REALLY
i wish him nothing but success and. Health But i'm
not so certain it's the best thing for, him do.
Speaker 4 (01:26:30):
You, Oh, LOOK i think he knows better than we
on the. OUTSIDE i give him a lot of. Credit,
Man he has gone through some challenges throughout his. Lifetime
you talk about the blood, clots the, toes everything that
we that we only know that he's dealt with the last.
Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
Five or six.
Speaker 4 (01:26:49):
Years didn't to have, this but he is one of
the most positive people That i've, seen the way that
he has handled this, situation the way that he wants
to show up for his team at a time when
really he doesn't have to, coach but he really loves the.
Coaching AND i think what it does is it shows
how much he does love coaching as opposed to just
(01:27:12):
being in a participate because Of Daddy.
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Ball loves his, team loves the. Squad you see that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
Man you're rooting for him not only as a, person
But i'm rooting for him as a coach because the
story should be inspiring to others when it comes to
dealing with the various challenges that may pop up in your.
Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
LIFE i will tell you this.
Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
MUCH i think the fact that he is coaching right
now and he's making somewhat light of the. Situation even
at the news conference he said he's using depends like
a baby and he's got to deal now it. DEPENDS
i think that's going to enlighten many people who in
fact have a similar situation and feel comfortable talking about
(01:27:51):
it and maybe even coming out of the closets so to,
speak to, say, WELL i have What deon has SO
i think he's doing a world of good in that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
Regard, yeah a word of.
Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
Good in their regard in terms of the transparency people
talking about the things that they're dealing. With he has
always been one who has been, motivational inspirational in terms
of how he tries to live out his life and
the things that he.
Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
Posts he'll call anybody to help anybody.
Speaker 4 (01:28:19):
Out who's going through a look of. Struggle so you
hate to see this for, him but what you know
is sometimes the universe tests the strongest, soldiers and SO
i know he a soldiers through.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
This one and make it out on the other.
Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
Side all, Right, Now i'm gonna move on to one
last thing here before we get some meat and potatoes stuff.
Here the one THING i don't like is guys that
SAY i told you, so all, right no matter if
sports or. Nonsports and one of those, guys at least
When i'm reading, here Is Robert, kraft the owner of
The New England. Patriots he says that he knows That
(01:28:57):
Mike rabel would have been the coach of The New England,
okay he had a vision since twenty, nineteen and it
was a postseason game When vrabel was coaching The. Titans
The titans were nine and seven and The patriots were
twelve and, four and they beat The patriots twenty to
thirteen At Jillette stadium in a playoff. Game it was
the last Game Tom brady ever played in The patriots,
(01:29:18):
uniform AND i think his last throw was a pick
six Against Logan ryan The tennessee d. Back, okay and
then Then kraft, says all, RIGHT i Knew vrabel will
be our. Coach what he says that in a certain
sort of, Way i'm, saying, well he's saying it now
because a he is his. Coach BUT i think what
he's doing is putting tremendous pressure On verrabel to turn
(01:29:42):
around a team that was four and thirteen last.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Year that's what he's. DOING i.
Speaker 4 (01:29:46):
THINK i think what you want, is If i'm the,
OWNER i want to be able to look at.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
A game and feel LIKE i have the best coach
on the.
Speaker 4 (01:29:55):
Sideline and sometimes that doesn't necessarily mean THAT i win the,
Game but what it does mean is my guy gets
the most out of the talent that he has at his.
Disposal so if he has a lesser talented, team can
he use tactics to level the playing. Field does he
(01:30:16):
have a strategy that gives his team an opportunity to
win even though they're Overmatch Mike rabel has done that
because those teams In tennessee were not the most, talented but,
man they were tough and the tactics that they deployed
made it, very very challenging on opponents to knock them.
Off that's Why Robert kraft looked at him lovingly when
(01:30:37):
he had an opportunity to get, him and that's why
he wanted to pursue him when things didn't go the
way that he wanted.
Speaker 3 (01:30:42):
To For, jiraimeo, well.
Speaker 2 (01:30:45):
He did Give belichick some credit because in the story
THAT i, read he said That rabel he's the guy
who's been exposed to the greatest coach and the greatest.
Speaker 1 (01:30:52):
Quarterback and he was able to overcome it in that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:55):
Game so it kind of a slap in the face
To Bill, belichick that is and. Pressure oh, yeah maybe
he was wise in doing. This love pressure right now On.
Vrabel But rabel has a history of getting a lot
out of his. TEAMS i think he's a pretty good
coach because he coached The titans for twenty eighteen to
twenty twenty, three he had a winning record with them
fifty four to forty. Five in the, postseason he won
(01:31:17):
two out of five and they went all the way
to win the to THE Afc Championship. Game they did
lose to The Kansas City. Chiefs SO i think that
they could be a surprise team this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:27):
Year The.
Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
Patriots they really can with you At North carolina.
Speaker 4 (01:31:30):
Quarterback, yeah because the first thing That Mike rabel is
gonna do is he's gonna have a tougher. Team they're
gonna be, Tough they're gonna be, tenacious they are going
to do the things that we talked about Against Caitlyn.
Clark that's How Mike rabel levels the playing field for his.
Teams they play a brand of physical football that is
(01:31:52):
gonna tip the skills in their. Favor if you're not
willing to go to that dark place that you have
to go with. Them, Secondly josh McDaniels working With Drake may.
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
THAT i.
Speaker 4 (01:32:03):
Love but THEN i also really Love Stefan diggs being
on the. Perimeter we Saw Stefan diggs help Unlock Josh
allen four years In buffalo thousand.
Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
Yard season each.
Speaker 4 (01:32:11):
One, uh he could do the same thing For drake
may veteran, dependable reliable target with some speed and explosionists
to make some things.
Speaker 3 (01:32:21):
Happen he's a good addition to this.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
Offense, okay now you know the. Story i'm, sure And
i'd like to hear it IF i. Can wasn't there
a problem Between Stephan diggs And Josh? Allen that's Why
Stephan diggs is no longer A.
Speaker 4 (01:32:34):
Buffalo there may have, BEEN i, mean there may have
been some, stuff but that's common between passer and pass.
Speaker 3 (01:32:44):
Catcher you, know like. PROBLEMS i MEAN i DON'T i don't.
KNOW i don't know about the off the field stuff or.
Speaker 4 (01:32:51):
WHATEVER i just know that it's not uncommon to have
a wide receiver who could be temperamental have some issues
in the locker. Room that's just kind of the nature
of the position and whatever they, had whatever the issue.
Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
Was it was. Time BUT i will say, this it
was time.
Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
For The Buffalo bills to quit Allowing Josh allen to
bowl with.
Speaker 3 (01:33:15):
Bumpers they needed him to play like real.
Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
QUARTERBACK i am, quarterback and the only way to do
it is to remove some of the weapons around him
and see how he goes about his. Mission so, look
it hasn't been, ideal but it's one of the things
that you look.
Speaker 1 (01:33:31):
At all, Right i'm going to go.
Speaker 2 (01:33:33):
Back, now let's talk About Josh, allen who's a tremendous
quarterback right. Now puts up a lot of, points and
that's what fans. Want they want, points, Okay and baseball
fans love the home. Run that's what they do in,
basketball they love the, dunk and football they love touchdowns and. Points,
Right so if you want, points you want, excitement we
have the teams that will give it to, you all,
Right and you see if you agree with. ME i
got a little bit of a list here of the
(01:33:54):
teams that got to put up a lot of, points
and first and foremost got to, be in my, mind
The Kansas City chiefs And Patrick, mahomes the. Quarterback he
said this, week AND i read it SOMEWHERE i, forgot
said that the Coach Andy reid has challenged him to
push the ball down the. Field let guys have chances
to make. Plays SO i read, that AND i, SAID
(01:34:14):
i got to Ask Bucky brooks this. Question why is
this statement by the coach any different than any other
coaching philosophy to push the ball down the. Field they
let guys chances to make. Plays don't get think they're
doing that In. BUFFALO i mean they're doing that In
cincinnati With Jamar. Chase so why is there any different
With Andy reid And Patrick.
Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
Mahomesh they hadn't been able to get to the deep
ball of. Late some of that is by design defensive.
Design people are playing more two as, Coverage they are
willing to conceive some yards on the, ground and The
chiefs haven't shown a patience commitment to the running game
to punish people for having those light. Boxes more, IMPORTANTLY
(01:34:52):
i don't know if they have the running back that
can punish opponents from playing light. Boxes Isaia pacheco is
a fine, runner but he doesn't have a thousand yeard
season on his. RESUME i don't know if he's one
that you come into the game and give your efforts
up to slow him. Down until they have a credible
threat in the, backfield it's gonna be harder to generate
(01:35:14):
some of the big players that they used to.
Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
Generate, okay so you're not agreeing with me that these
are one of the teams that in my list that
could be a pretty explosive on.
Speaker 3 (01:35:23):
OFFENSE i, MEAN i think they're gonna be.
Speaker 4 (01:35:26):
Better LIKE i wrote an article a week ago talk
about making The chiefs fun. Again they can do, it
but they go have to get the running game.
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
Going and the only way.
Speaker 4 (01:35:33):
To get running game going is you got to get
us there For checko. Running so he has to be
more effective between the, Tackles so the defense has to
keep someone on the backside to take care of. Him
now you've worked the front, side and then if you
do go to the, post you got to have a
post runner that can go screaming down the middle of
field for. Touchdown they are better positioned because the personnel
is enhanced and they know what they want to do
(01:35:56):
and how they want to get.
Speaker 1 (01:35:56):
There, Okay i'm going to put another team on this.
List do me a. Favor don't laugh at, me all,
right because you may very well laugh at.
Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
ME i saw what this guy did last year and
several years now In Detroit Ben johnson as the offensive.
Coordinated he's not the head coach of The Chicago. BEARS
i know The bears finished last ten yards per game last.
Speaker 1 (01:36:16):
Year at two hunch and eighty four yards a.
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Game ALTHOUGH i think that With Caleb, williams and, yes
he had a league high sixty eight, SACKS i think
With Ben johnson running the, show they could put up
points this.
Speaker 4 (01:36:27):
Year so you Think Ben johnson gonna make that much
of a difference In chicago that we're just gonna roll
out the balls and all the magical schemes and he's
going to fix or Change Kaylen. Williams i'm not in that.
CAMP i need to see if the quarterback is tough enough.
FIRST i gotta see if he's tough, enough if he's
tough enough mentally and physically to be an elite franchise.
(01:36:49):
Quarterback even though he was taking number one, overall And
i'm okay with him being taken number one, OVERALL i don't, know.
Man it's a tough guy, position, smarts toughness has to be,
shown and he hasn't shown great toughness.
Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
When it comes to bouncing back from minimal.
Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
Mistakes or the physicality that can escalate when people target.
Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
HIM i hear what you're.
Speaker 2 (01:37:12):
Saying when he played AT, USC i didn't let the
fact that he was crying after a.
Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
GAME i said that he's going to be a. Leader
you can't be doing.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
That, however he came into the LEAGUE i think with
more hype Than jared GoF did and look With johnson
did To Gothlain.
Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
Detroit, yeah but Is Calb williams going to submit to
the coaching or does he feel LIKE i got?
Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
IT i know, IT i got.
Speaker 4 (01:37:34):
It if he's humble enough to take the, coaching he can.
Change but, yeah can he take the hard, coaching the
very detailed, coaching and the demands of the, position because
it becomes a very lonely job when you're at the
franchise quarterback because you got to lock, in you got to,
study you got to know everybody's assignment so you can
(01:37:55):
have instant recall right now to get everyone lined. Up
so that means devoting a lot of time and energy
to your. Passion is he built for?
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
That that's WHAT i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
KNOW i certainly don't like what he wrote in his
book that The chicago's a place for quarterbacks to.
Speaker 1 (01:38:11):
DIE i didn't like, that and he kind of knocked
off on that pretty.
Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
Quickly, YEAH i mean He, look here's What i'll. Say
you got to pay attention to the.
Speaker 4 (01:38:21):
Clues when people start dropping, them you gotta pay attention
to the clues.
Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
When he talks about that and all the other.
Speaker 4 (01:38:28):
Stuff at the end of the, day it's all peaches
and cream until they start, playing until they hit a rough.
Spot then we'll see one already on the same.
Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
Page. Two how good Is Kayler? Williams?
Speaker 4 (01:38:41):
Three how do we adapt an adjust to Being johnson
now that he's gone from being THE oc to the head.
Coach all of those things are in, Place so we'll
see if The bears can.
Speaker 3 (01:38:50):
Live up to the hype because they are the hype.
Speaker 4 (01:38:52):
Bunnies people love The, bears they want him to be,
back and that. STUFF i don't, know and a lot
of it hinges on the.
Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
Quarterback, okay so you sort of agree with The, chiefs
but you don't agree with The.
Speaker 2 (01:39:04):
Bears let's try one. More i'm going with The Tampa
Bay bucks to put up. Points last year team was
fourth and scoring almost thirty points a, game league best
fifty point nine percent conversion rate on third. Downs they
do have a first year offensive corder Who Josh GRIZZARD
i think is the offensive. Coordinator BUT i do think
that this is a team that could score. Points AND
i think that right NOW i think they're the team
(01:39:26):
that could really put up a lot of points this.
Speaker 1 (01:39:28):
Year they'll be.
Speaker 4 (01:39:28):
Exciting, OKAY i agree with you on. That the only
QUESTION i have about The bucks is the play. Caller
everyone else's, Back Baker mayfield's, Back Chris, Godwin Mike, evans
you got to make A bookah coming, overboard coming on,
Board Bucky irvin in the, Backfield Rashak.
Speaker 3 (01:39:44):
WHITE i, mean their talented offensive line is.
Speaker 4 (01:39:46):
Great they have everything that you want on, offense, Right, so,
YEAH i.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
Believe they can be.
Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
There they're a solid bet to emerge as a force
as long As baker continues to play like. He's, yeah
they could be one of those teams that's in the
tournament and you look around and did a last team.
Speaker 1 (01:40:04):
Standing he threw forty five hundred yards list.
Speaker 3 (01:40:07):
Year he really.
Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
Did, okay another team THAT i think will put up
some points. Again it's gonna be a question. Though but
The Atlanta, falcons all, Right Michael Pennix, junior the rookie.
Quarterback but he's the last three games he played a
year ago ten point two air yards per. ATTEMPT i
think That atlanta under him quarterbacking for the full season
(01:40:30):
And i'm A Kirk cousins, guy BUT i think It's
Michael pennix's.
Speaker 1 (01:40:34):
TEAM i really. Do and he's going to be the.
GUY i think they can put up some.
Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
Points Kirk cousins, guy. HUH i like.
Speaker 1 (01:40:42):
Him he's a family, guy he's a good, GUY a
feel for the. Guy but his best days are behind.
Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
Him yeah they.
Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
Are and this team wouldn't be anywhere close to being
the title contended With kurk installed as THE qb. One
they have a chance now when when you look around
and you just kind of think what they could be
because the explosiveness on the outside cal pits fifth year.
(01:41:12):
Option he has to show improve to people why he
is one of the top.
Speaker 3 (01:41:16):
Guys Drake london, think, yeah you Got.
Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
Drake, London Danniel, mooney you have some, weapons firepower, Really
Bjon Robins, ROBINSON i, mean there's a lot of stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:41:27):
Around him to set them.
Speaker 4 (01:41:28):
Up it's just a lack of. Experience how quickly does
he adapt to the?
Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
Program all, Right so he's sort of like almost agree
with me on that one last but not Least, again
it's a it's a, question BUT i really believe With
Pete carroll as. COACH i think The Las Vegas raiders
could put up. Points Chip kelly offensive, coordinator And Gino
smith reuniting With Pete. Carroll they were In seattle. Together Brock,
BOWERS i mean he's a great. Receiver Dante thornton's going
(01:41:55):
to be a tremendous. Rookie he really will. Be and
of course the run game's got to be. Improved Ashton,
GENTY i think they're gonna put up. Points, okay so
they're gonna Put.
Speaker 4 (01:42:09):
I'm just saying they're gonna put up. Points like who's
the number one? Receiver we Take Brock bauers, away who
else is? There Jacoby. Myers we're Saying Jacoby myers is
gonna light it up for. HIM i mean it's a
huge drop. Off and then the running game we got Asking.
Genty so their style of, play to, me will prevent
them from delivering the explosive. Plays they can go regular
(01:42:34):
AND i mean they can do some creative, things but,
man you're talking about some some no names of some
unheralded players that you're counting on to be.
Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
Explosive so that means That Geno smith then.
Speaker 4 (01:42:47):
Is the New brady that he is going to be
the guy that can take anything and make it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
Right, yeah but he's With Pete.
Speaker 2 (01:42:55):
Carrol but Again i'm with, You Gino, swift BECAUSE i
think from week to week you don't know really what
you're gonna. Get he could be outstanding one week and
the next week he could throw three picks.
Speaker 3 (01:43:04):
A box of. Chocolates isn't there what they said In Forrest? Gump?
Speaker 1 (01:43:07):
Yeah, exactly all, right so you do agree with? Me
The chiefs And Tampa, bay let's not. BIG i got.
Two all, right we'll, see we'll see what happens during the.
Season all.
Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
Right He's Bucky brooks And Andy. Ferman and by the,

they're playing. Game but right now these players all have
something in. Common we'll tell you what it is. Next
(01:44:01):
they want what everyone, wants so we'll explain that in
just about a. Minute He's Bucky. Brooks I'm Andy. Furman
we A Fox Sports sunday On Fox. Sports, ready and
by the, way we're lying from The Fox sports radio
studios and we're gonna have the blame game in about
ten or twelve minutes from. Now but what do we, Want,
Bucky i'll tell you what we. Want most people want.
Food most people want, rest they want a good, job
(01:44:21):
and of course they want. Money they want the green,
cabbage the green cabbage of. Salvation that's what they. Want
they want the, loot they want the, guilt that's what they.
Want is that what everybody? Wants that's what they?
Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
WANT i, mean maybe a little. BIT i don't know
if everyone wants, it, though.
Speaker 2 (01:44:39):
Well most, people, well THE nfl players want. It terry
McLaurin wants. It the wide receiver for The, Commanders Michael
parsons of The cowboys wants. It James, cook the running
back on The, bills wants, It Miles garrett got. It
Trey hendrickson to The bengals he wants it as.
Speaker 1 (01:44:52):
Well BUT.
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
I want to iron this out with you because you
can help, me and then we'll get involved with the individual.
Speaker 1 (01:44:58):
Cases, here.
Speaker 2 (01:44:59):
RIGHT i mentioned this earlier today and maybe you could
kind of fill me. In contracts to me are predictions
of what players might or should. Do just check the,
draft even nil, name image and. Likeness it's for the.
Future colleges pay high school recruits money to play football
because they're expecting them to do certain, things not what you,
(01:45:22):
did what you might, do what we expect you to.
Speaker 1 (01:45:25):
Do AM i way you off based on.
Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
That, No you're you're.
Speaker 4 (01:45:29):
Paying for, potential not for past. Production there's a fine
line between that and what you're banking on is that
the person's going to be able to replicate what they
were able to do successfully to previous few.
Speaker 1 (01:45:46):
Years all, RIGHT i hear what you're.
Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
Saying so NOW i want to know what's the hold
of With terry. McLaurin, Okay washington command the top wide
out last. Season he caught a career best thirteen touchdown.
Passes he has. Paid he asked one thousand yards for
five consecutive seasons coming off his Second Pro bowl, appearance
and the fans love.
Speaker 1 (01:46:06):
Him he's. NEEDED i don't know what the deal is over.
There what have you?
Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
Heard why is he not being signed because he's needed
big time By.
Speaker 3 (01:46:15):
Washington you, KNOW i just think it's the.
Speaker 4 (01:46:18):
Rub you, Know like he's thirty years, old and thirty
is the magic number in terms of when you start
moving off of players because normally the injuries happen and
the falloff happens shortly after. Thirty you think About Cooper
cup being, older the fall, off think about some of
the things that we've. Seen the problem that you have
(01:46:38):
Is terry mclaurren's stats indicate that he's one of the
best wide receivers in ball factor. In his character is
impeccable in terms of his football, character his work, ethic his,
intelligence his leadership.
Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
Skills all of those.
Speaker 4 (01:46:52):
Things make it where you value him more than anybody
else on your. Team but he's had some some things
where he's you're trying to figure out where the money.
SLOTS Dk mcalff is at the high end of the,
system talking about over thirty million Plus Devonte adams And Mike,
evans who are both over. Thirty they're the lower end
(01:47:14):
at twenty one and twenty four million. Annually so that's
where you have the beauty has to fall somewhere in.
Between but what is the minimum number that he'll?
Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
Accept, Okay, again he's in the final year of a,
contract the three year, deal and that deals worth sixty
eight million. Dollars he's going to be thirty years old
next Month. September, okay and you MENTIONED Dk. Metcalf he
signed a deal With pittsburgh forth thirty two million dollars
a year this. Offseason, Okay and these two, Guys metcalf
(01:47:45):
and McLaurin were in the same draft class and they
got almost identical. Statistics so he's got a bothering chip.
Speaker 1 (01:47:52):
There he really. DOES i think he's going to get the.
Money he's got to get the.
Speaker 3 (01:47:55):
Money but one is twenty eight and one is.
Speaker 4 (01:47:57):
Thirty so it blows up your animal litical models when
you talk about, that like that's where the struggle, Comes
like you don't have true housing. Comp you don't have
a true comp because it's different FOR dk just because
SAME dragt class but two years, younger which is a.
Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
Lifetime all.
Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Right so now we go back to The Michael parsons
comparison To terry McLaurin and The Washington WHAT i mean
by that was the coaching staff is getting involved. Now
Washington commanders Coach Dan, quinn he came out the other
day he said That terry mclaurin's trade request because they
both want to be. Traded, now that's the deal that
trade me because they're paying, me you, know trade me
(01:48:37):
or pay.
Speaker 1 (01:48:38):
Me trade me request is not a.
Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
Distraction and that's the word that drives me up a,
tree the fact that he mentioned the word. Distraction it
is a. Distraction it has to be a. Distraction and
you told me the other, day AND i haven't forgotten.
This you said that every player in The National Football
league is an individual contractor and they're really not concern
(01:49:01):
with other people's dealings financially or contract. Dealings, Okay it's
kind of like in. Radio you, know you work with
a bunch of. Guys you're going to, staff meaning's your
party with.
Speaker 1 (01:49:09):
Them you're a. Team but as.
Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
Soon as one guy gets the, acts life goes on
and no one's gonna go out in the street and
SAY i want him. Back it doesn't work that. Way you,
know everybody's out for. Themselves so it's the same thing in.
Football and the fact That quinn used the term, distraction
it is a. Distraction it has to. Be he's not.
Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
PRACTICING i, mean.
Speaker 4 (01:49:27):
It's a bit of a, distraction but it's no different
than if he has sprained ankle was sitting on the.
Speaker 3 (01:49:31):
Sideline that's what you convince.
Speaker 4 (01:49:33):
Yourself if you're a, coach you tell the, team, hey,
man we love, them we support, them we wish he's.
Here but let's just pretend this is a great opportunity
for us to prepare in case we don't have. Him
let's say he has a sprained, ankle he can't, play
how are we going to line up and get a?
Speaker 3 (01:49:47):
Win? Okay that means you.
Speaker 4 (01:49:49):
Go to an elevated, role somebody else goes to another elevated,
role and our expectation remains the. Same so it can
be a blessing in disguise if the coach approaches it
the right.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
Way all, Right So i'll go back To Michael. Parsons
now he's twenty. Six he wants to become the NFL's
highest paid non. Quarterback, okay and NOW i would have to,
say AND i think you'll, agree he's the best pass
rusher in THE nfl. Today he really is at, it
twenty six years of. Age maybe he deserves to be
compensated by.
Speaker 1 (01:50:16):
THAT i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:50:17):
Know let's take a look at some of these head
rushers and that much take got back In, March Max
crosby re signed for The raiders with an extension worth
thirty five point five million. Year In, march Again Miles,
garrett and he threatened to leave The Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
Browns he wanted to be.
Speaker 2 (01:50:32):
Traded he came back to The Cleveland browns extension forty
million dollars a.
Speaker 1 (01:50:36):
Year In, JULY.
Speaker 2 (01:50:37):
Tj, watt just a couple of weeks, ago signs with
The Pittsburgh, steelers extension forty one million dollars a.
Speaker 1 (01:50:44):
Year all, right so we'll see what he's gonna. GET
i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:50:47):
KNOW i, MEAN i think he's right up there with
those guys he needs to. Get he's got to get, paid, REALLY.
Speaker 3 (01:50:53):
I, mean you've already talked about the.
Speaker 4 (01:50:54):
Market the market is the, market and he doesn't, change
and you can skirt it trying to do some shady
stuff behind, it but the market does not.
Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
Change it's it's.
Speaker 1 (01:51:06):
Amazing, yeah what wasn't?
Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
Okay NOW i asked you. THIS i, MEAN i think
things have changed a little bit as far as what's
going on with players and the money and whatever it may.
Be was it like that when you?
Speaker 1 (01:51:16):
Played was?
Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
IT i mean did people go ballistics saying trade, Me
i'm not going to play the stand on the sidelines
and you know they don't want to get fifty thousand
dollars fines a? Game, WELL i mean was it like
that with? YOU i don't remember it that. Way it's
a lot different, now isn't. It why is?
Speaker 3 (01:51:33):
It?
Speaker 9 (01:51:35):
It's?
Speaker 4 (01:51:35):
Uh, WELL i mean just people are more, open, right
you got more. Channels people players are more open about
discussing things on their own BECAUSE i Remember Michael parsons
went on social media and shared his trade. Requests normally
that would have had to be done through a one
on one sit. Down a reporter would have had to break.
That but now player empowerment, era people deliver their.
Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
Ownsages, WELL i mean McLaurin he wants some security AND
i don't blame him because he's going to be thirty
years old On september the fifteenth and, look this is
going to be HIS i would say his last. Contract
it's an, extension it's going to be his last. One
and you MENTIONED Dj, metcalf member of the twenty NINETEEN
Nfl draft. Class he's got a four year deal one
(01:52:21):
hundred and thirty two. Mil all, Right SO i think
that the fact that these salaries are, ANNOUNCED i think
it's great for. AGENTS i mean IT'S i think it's
bad for fans BECAUSE i don't like talking money or others,
money OR i don't like telling people or owners how
they should spend their. MONEY i MEAN i have fans
On Talk ready all the, times spend you, know sign the,
(01:52:43):
guy it's not your. MONEY i would never tell someone
how to spend their. Money and that's basically what we.
Do AND i think it's. Wrong BUT i think it's
also wrong for these guys who are in a situation
and they play similar positions and their stats are very,
similar and one guy's going to a lot more than
the other.
Speaker 1 (01:53:01):
Guy it's just not. Fair it would be.
Speaker 2 (01:53:02):
Unfair but if that happens all the, time you, know
we do the same function as other guys behind the,
microphone they get more money than, us, Right why is
that did we go? Crazy do we go? BALLISTIC i
don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:53:13):
SO i mean you can calmly make a case and
advocate for. Yourself depends on your viewpoint on advocacy and
how you go about. It you can be front and,
center step behind the, mic tap the mic and be, like,
Hey i'm, underpaid. UNDERUTILIZED i need to be valued and.
Appreciated or you can trot to the big office and
(01:53:36):
sit there in the big chair and tell the man
that you need to you need to.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
Think it depends on you and how you like to get,
down but it has to be talked.
Speaker 4 (01:53:44):
About and when it comes to, money it's uncomfortable doing.
Negotiations but the heavy handed flourishing that environment just a
matter of can can you make a compelling?
Speaker 3 (01:53:58):
Case?
Speaker 1 (01:53:59):
WELL i will tell this.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
MUCH i think the case for McLaurin is pretty good
Because Jayden daniels needs, him and his other weapon on
that team Is Deebo. Samuel and let's face, It Deebo
samuel's come at the camp coming off his worst year
of his, career a career little fifty three ars for
the scrimmage per, game and right now he's. Needed you
need you need two. Receivers there's no doubt my. Mind
(01:54:21):
you need to goes taking a double team your star.
Receiver so you need two. Receivers that's WHY T higgins
got the money he did because they double up On
Jamar chase AND T higgins gonna help take some pressure Off.
Speaker 3 (01:54:32):
Chase, yeah you need a you need a one in
or two or two number.
Speaker 4 (01:54:38):
Ones but you have to have two legitimate options three
in a perfect world because you can create and dictate the,
matchups you can explore, things but you have to have
at least. Two and it used to, be, OH i
just need one the number one receiver and we can be.
Okay but then you're gonna have to have two big,
money high price receivers on your.
Speaker 3 (01:54:57):
Team that's the team building. Model.
Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
Okay NOW i ask you this in, CLOSING i ask you.
THIS i know THE nfl, draft it's slotted by position
right and where you're. Drafted do you see THE nfl
maybe owners getting. TOGETHER i doubt of THE pa will
ever approve. This that various positions are slotted for.
Speaker 4 (01:55:17):
SALARY i mean it's kind of slotted for salary right,
now the way that by. Position quarterbacks are in the
fifty million Dollar, club your wide, receivers pass, rushes and
those guys are now above thirty million, dollars and so
you have some slotting that is naturally.
Speaker 3 (01:55:34):
Occurring, WELL i don't.
Speaker 2 (01:55:37):
KNOW i just think that the money situation right now
takes away from the game.
Speaker 1 (01:55:41):
ITSELF i believe.
Speaker 2 (01:55:42):
That and then when you hit conversations about, MONEY i
JUST i don't.
Speaker 1 (01:55:47):
THINK i don't. Know Maybe i'm.
Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
Roll MAYBE i don't think the average fan on the,
street of the guy who pays tickets to go to
a game or watches it on Every sunday ON, tv
wants to hear money. Talk and you're, RIGHT i, mean
the average fan is in the corner of the billionaire
owner SAYING i don't want to see these guys paved
because let's face, it these players right now are nothing
more in my mind than interchangeable drill. Bits you take one,
(01:56:11):
in you put another one, out you take McLaurin, out
you get another receiver in.
Speaker 5 (01:56:14):
There that's what they, are right, Right but they really.
Are so we'll see what. Happens, yeah we'll see what.
HAPPENS i think he needs to stand. Firm eventually they'll
find a way to consummate a. Deal but, yeah it's
part of the. Negotiation here we.
Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
Go He's Bucky, BROOKS i May. Deferman we Have Fox
sports on. There Fox Sports. Radio it's time let it all.

Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
For the play. Game woring. Me it's all your. Fault,
no it's your.
Speaker 3 (01:57:03):
Fault what's all your?
Speaker 6 (01:57:05):
Fault maybe it's everyone's.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
FAULT a, liar that's why there's the blame. Game let's
figure out how to. BLAME i blame, you L. D
he's a, Liar go, ahead go, ahead L. D take it.
Speaker 9 (01:57:22):
Away, WELL i can't Say i'm exactly a, liar but
that'd be a LIFE i. SAID i never, lie so
fair on that, LIAR i GUESS i am a. Liar,
yeah there we. Go, Yes i'm not gonna lie about this.
Speaker 3 (01:57:33):
One.
Speaker 9 (01:57:34):
Guys SO mlb trade deadline passed earlier this. Week, well
with that, said one of them had a huge fire,
sale And i'm talking To Minnesota. Twins they traded away
ten of their players from their active roster, away just
dealt and just one of the biggest fire Sales i've ever.
Speaker 10 (01:57:56):
Seen who do you.
Speaker 1 (01:57:59):
Blame for, That Andy?
Speaker 2 (01:58:00):
FURMAN i would blame ownership management if you, will BECAUSE
i think that they're all in or all out one
or the. OTHER i, mean obviously they're not gonna win
anything this, YEAR i don't, think but they better win
pretty soon because they're cleaning the, plate so to.
Speaker 4 (01:58:14):
Speak, yeah they're trying to clean the. Plate you're trying
to upgrade the person who are trying to get the right.
Fist and it's a bit of a chemistry. Experiment SO
i understand.
Speaker 3 (01:58:25):
Why you do. It on things don't go. Qua this
is what you, do try and figure it, out.
Speaker 9 (01:58:30):
All, Right, well moving on from, baseball we're gonna go
to football. Here So Micah parsons of The cowboys says
he loves The cowboys and then says he won't play
for them without a better, contract yet he's signed for this.
Speaker 10 (01:58:41):
Year who do you blame for this? Mess Bucky, Brooks.
Speaker 3 (01:58:46):
Jerry jones and The.
Speaker 4 (01:58:47):
Cowboys they never get their deals done on. Time where
There's Dak, Prescott Ceedee, lamb anybody who has gone through,
It Das bryant way back in the. Day he just
refuses to pay guys what they should get soon.
Speaker 3 (01:59:03):
Enough so it Is Jerry. Jones he just mismanages.
Speaker 1 (01:59:04):
IT i Love Jerry.
Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
Jones you know why he takes the pressure off my
Friend Mike brown from The, bengals because everybody says It's
Mike brown is The. Bengals he doesn't pay, Well Mike
brown Paid Joe, Burrow Mike brown paid T, Higgas Mike
brown Paid Jamar. Chase But Jerry jones still has a
worse history Than Mike brown would.
Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
Ever have paying. Guys pay, Him, jerry you look like a.
Fool pay him all?
Speaker 10 (01:59:29):

Speaker 9 (01:59:32):
Wnb so, obviously, guys THE wnba has had its problems
in the. Past, well now fans are tossing sex toys
on the floor during.
Speaker 1 (01:59:43):

Speaker 2 (01:59:45):
Andy, uh you know, WHAT i think that maybe you
gotta blame them moron that brought the sex toy. In
you gotta blame maybe. SECURITY i don't, know but you know, what,
though Now i'm gonna be a little. Sexist maybe there's
some perverted guys that go to these games because there's
some good look at women.

it's not holdingly, bad but it's.
Speaker 3 (02:00:15):
Inappropriate at a game like. That you can't be throwing
things out. There so it's just a little. Bunch it's
a little, cedious. Disrespectful we got to find a way
to be respectful for.
