Speaker 1 (00:00):
You don't listening to Fox Sports. Well, good morningvery buddy
Heavy Hebby Hebby Sports Saturday the Fellas. Oh yeah, as
we begin another football weekend right here, this is my

(00:24):
favorite time of the year. Happy, Happy October. It is
October two, the greatest sports month. It's a sports gasmic month.
This is my favorite month of the year because you
know what, for all of us sports nerds, this is
our time. We have college football in the throes of it,

(00:49):
right We got the NFL and this is like after
the what has now become the preseason, So now you
know what. September is like half a preseason, and October
is for real, for real, for real, for real, and
then baseball playoffs October baseball. Nothing like the bunting that

(01:14):
goes up during October baseball. And then we got the
start of hoops, the start of the NHL. It's just
a great month, the confluence of all four sports this month,
So listen for all my brothers and sisters that they
who love the games enjoy this. It's gonna be a
lot of fun. We got lots to go over baseball

(01:37):
entering its final weekend, we got playoffs coming up this week,
Dodgers and Giants. Still not done yet. Dodgers still have life,
as you heard Figgy say, So that's gonna be a
lot of fun leaks over the next couple of days.
We got a lot of good stuff. And then with
a good card today the college football we got your set.
It's gonna be a great one today Mississippi and Alabama.

(02:01):
And I'm dying for this game. This game is really
interesting to me because this could explain the landscape of
college football if Alabama is not as strong and we
all have a kind of an inkling that Alabama is
good obviously, but not the typical juggernaut. And I look

(02:23):
at this defense that I wonder how good is the defense?
And I you're gonna get tested today, Matt, Carl and
Old miss are going to test them today. That air
raid offense. Man, it's coming, and that's gonna be an
incredible game. Three thirty Eastern, twelve thirty Pacific at UH
in Tuscaloosa. I'm dying to see that. I love Carl

(02:47):
link Kiffin gets on their saving skin. So that's fun.
It's gonna be great. You know, it's great test for Obama.
So that should be a lot of fun. That game.
You got Wisconsin and Michigan. That's a good game. We'll
see about Michigan. How real is Michigan? They don't throw
the ball? Can they win without throwing the football? Unbeaten

(03:10):
but big tests against Wisconsin, Cincinnati Notre Dame. Ritter takes
the high powered Bearcats offense. They have not been tested yet.
Then they only got the Irish. Now here's the problem.
Is the Cincinnati defense good enough to make them a
real contender in the landscape of college football. Let's face it,

(03:32):
the typical powers are down, Clemson down, Oklahoma down. We'll
see Ohio State. We'll see about Alive State. I don't
know if I'm a big believer in the either. We'll
see about even Alabama. We just talked to it like
that's you know, we'll see it, so we'll check. Well, well,

(03:56):
it'll be a lot of fun to check out what's
gonna happen today. And the even pack twelve. We got
a great one, right Arizona State, right u c l
A Arizona State, A Herm Edwards against Chip Kelly. That
should be a great game in a pack twelve tonight. Man,

(04:19):
it's good football. And then of course it all begins
tomorrow NFL Week four, and it culminates at night. Brady
Belichick goat quarterback, got coach. So we have lots to
get to. I gotta get to my man, my partner
in crime, who's just as is these sports crazy as

(04:40):
I am. The fabulous Figgy Kevin Figures figure. As you mentioned,
the most wonderful time of the year. I love it.
October always amazing. It's the best. I'm with you, man,
so it's the best. But like I love the time
of the year too, it's the weather's the weather is great.
Like everything about it. I'm I like a how lean right,

(05:02):
I like all that stuff. But the sports is the greatest.
I mean, you're a big baseball man, so October ball.
How much fun is October baseball? No, it's the best.
Everything gets micromanaged, you know, the manager get manager gets
you know, criticized for every single Sali story move, but
everything has heightened importance behind it, you know, at this
time of year, you know, and that's the the fans

(05:24):
stand up for every pitch in the postseason. It's it's amazing.
I absolutely love it, and especially the fact that we
have some some races coming down to the to the
last weekend here. You know, the the wild card race
in the American League is wide open from top to
bottom and probably slightly less drama, although there is still
a little bit of drama when it comes to the
National League West race too. So and I'm really kind

(05:47):
of interested. What's your take on the Dodgers going into
this thing, because they're still they should still be the favorite,
right I believe they are. Sure's You're looked a little
hittable the other night. His last two stars, he has
not been good. He's been steel stake to three run
lead last week, a four run lead the other day
the other night, and blew both leads. So not not

(06:10):
his best performance. But Dave Roberts did stay on Friday
that he is still fully planning to start him in
the first playoff game, whatever that may be. I mean,
I think you got it right, right, that's where you
trade it for him, you know. Now there's an argument
to be made and for for Walker Bueller, who's been
spectacular in playoff games and in important games for them
in his young career. So you can definitely make an

(06:31):
argument that that Walker Bueler, who was spectacular in his
last start earlier this week should get the start. But
I mean Max Scherzer, a few have been as dominant
as he asked for a long period of time, and
that's part of the reason why they brought him here
was four of these types of situations. You know, it's
funny because I look at the Giants and they've had
such a great year, but they're still part of me

(06:52):
that doesn't trust them in the postseason. I mean, do
you feel like they're doing it with smoking mirrors to
a certain degree. Now they do have proven and players
who are part of their title teams. You have your
Crawforarth and your posies, and you guys like, yeah, he
does a spectacular season and get m v P talk
for Crawford rightfully. So you know, um, and look, their

(07:15):
pitching staff is not the They're having a great year,
But I don't know if there's a ace at the
top that you say, Wow, this is our lockdown guy
who are really building around, who can really shut you
down in the playoffs. You've had a lot of guys
who are having really good years. They're getting really timely hits,
and so it sounds like, you know, I'm talking up
the recipe of what it takes to win a championship.
We've seen teams come out of nowhere in the past

(07:36):
to do this and have really good years or play
well down the stretch like the Cardinals are by the way, uh,
and just get hot at the right time. Sometimes that's
all you need. And if you're the Giants, you've stayed
out the entire season for months and months and months.
We've all talked about where they're gonna fall back to Earth.
When they fall back to Earth, they haven't done it.
So at some point you have to stop saying like, Wow,
they're lucky or they don't deserve to be here. They

(07:59):
absolutely deserve to be here. Now, whether I trust them
in the playoff series, we can discuss that. But Uh,
the idea that they were going to go away, they
proved everybody wrong. So kudos to that front office and
patching that thing together. Uh. To having the greatest season
in franchise history. A hundred and six wins is pretty impressive.
Fourteen that people thought were gonna win like eighty games
this year. No, it's been amazing, and they've stayed hot

(08:22):
right like they had the season hot. Um. It's funny
because when you HANDICAPTA. The National League, you got the
Juggernaut Dodgers. I still think we're the favorite, even though
it could. You know, they're probably gonna be the wild
card team. You got Milwaukee who's got good pitching, excellent pitching, right,
so you know you got Peralta and Woodriff and you

(08:44):
got you got some good Yeah, no, you gotta, you gotta.
That's a good team. The Cardinals have been on fire, right.
The Cardinals, Oh my god, they remind you of the
Rockies from like oh seven, where they just they gets
caught fire like Cardinals banging all kinds of run. Their

(09:05):
lineup is good. We'll see about the Cards if they
can stay hot, because you know, hot team in MLB
is a big deal. And then you got in Atlanta,
who I think is a really really good team, and
I think you know, they're pitching is has settled down
and you're getting really good starts, right, And I think
if that starting pitching to their bullpens a little sketchy,

(09:29):
right because they're blown the second most saves in all
of baseball. But if that, if that starting pitching can
deliver from gems that got enough offense to get to
get through it. I mean, you know, I could actually
see a Braves Dodgers n LCS replay from last season there, huh.

(09:49):
And the fact that the Braves have played so well
what that I mean? They're missing Ronald Quner Jr. Was
a m VP candidate, you know, before he got hurt.
It's been out for a while. Mike Saroka, who they
haven't had for the most part for two years, but
he is essentially is supposed to be the top starter
for them. They're ace, but I mean Freddie Freeman amazing.
Austin Riley, my god, has been out of his mind
this year. I mean you mentioned the offense. I mean

(10:10):
that's yes, They're pitching has been excellent, but they the
offense that they've gotten from guys like Dancy Swanson. They've
gotten a lot of contributions from a lot of guys
and played well when their best player has been out
for the majority of them to like from the front office,
because they didn't sleep right the many coon you was out.
They go get Jack Peterson and then they upgrade from

(10:32):
Jock Peterson gets Clarer right. Clar has been a huge deal.
They get Adam Duval from the Marlins, right, and he's
been a big contributor. They get Eddie Rosario, who's the
left handed power bat, so you know they've added They
went out and added power on both sides of the plate,
stocked up their outfield. I mean, I mean, that's just

(10:52):
a well run organization. The only thing they after to me,
their only achilles heel again is their bullpen, which as
we know, is as important as anything when you get
into the postseason. Yeah, which is probably gonna end up
costing them unfortunately, totally totally. All right, well we go.
I want to dive into the America ly what that
looks like, because you mentioned it, that race is wide open.

(11:15):
That's gonna be a lot of fun over the next
two days. You know, they're forced there two spots, four
teams fighting for the two spots. Well andicap that coming up.
And then we got a monster day of college football figgy,
first real big day of college football since the opener.
Oh absolutely, I mean, especially in the SEC, A couple

(11:36):
of top ten matchups going on. That's amazing. Yeah, that's
gonna be a lot of fun and inn of course
the big NFL day where every game especially now is fascinating.
We'll go through it all for you. Where the fellas
just getting started on a Fox Football Saturday. All right,
welcome back, Fellas, don't forget Fellas. Brought to you by

(12:03):
Discover Discovered Mets is all the cash bag. You earn
your credit card at the end of your first year.
It's amazing because Discovers accepted place in the United States
that say credit cards, learn more, discover dot com, slash
yes one deals and report limitations apply. I missed it
last week, Figgy, Yeah we missed your brother. Yeah. No,

(12:27):
we had a baseball tournament. Nice little men do. So
he did I right the last the other night he
had he had the great guys, just telling Nikki he
had a he had a great game. So you know,
it's one of those games like you can appreciate because
we all play ball as a kid. Show the kid,

(12:48):
uh has two triples NOx in five right, including it's
the last inning, right, two outs, bases loaded, and he
hits a rod there down eight six and he hits
a rocket over the right fielder's head for a walk
off triple. Wow, look at that. I was like, my man,

(13:09):
that's crazy. Yeah, it was great. He was like all
cloud nine, right, So his little travel team, little little guys.
They were all like, you know, celebrating. It was hysterical.
It's funny, you know, it's funny because they they will
imitate the big you know, the imitate all big leaguers. Right,
so when you see the walk off and you know,

(13:31):
they all mobbed the kid, like they were all mobbed him, right,
So he was like, daddy. So one of the parents
his first triple. I I don't take video, right, I
just watched the game, you know, and scream at him.
You can imagine, right, absolute do timing. You're late, you're late,

(13:55):
start your twigger earlier, keep your head up. And so
I'm yelling at him. But so I don't take video
or anything like that. But there was one of the
dads took took video the first he has, first trip on.
It was like a nice shot down the line. And
so I called him last night and I go, what
are you doing. He's staring at his phone and he goes,
I'm watching my triple daddy, my first one. I was like, alright, dude,

(14:19):
like he's got the bug. It's just direc nice. Now
that he posted to his TikTok account and like broadcasting
out to all his friends. He girl, check this out,
he said. But he's funny though, because he said it
to my sister. He sent it to and Chrissy, and
he sent it to Uncle Joey. Right, so he was like, yeah,

(14:41):
I sent it to Uncle Joey. Christie Daddy. I was like,
all right, you got him my man for him. Yeah.
It was funny, nothing wrong being proud of some accomplishment there, exactly, exactly,
all right. So let's take a little let's take kind
of take a little gander at this because uh, let's
get back to real quick base because on a weekend
and playoffs are blast the American League. We know the

(15:05):
Rays are wrapped up. We know the White Sox are
wrapped up. We know the Astros are are are wrapped up.
Now four teams fighting for two spots, the Mariners, the Yankees,
the Red Sox, and the Blue Jays. Right, so, Yanks
have the inside track at nine wins, Boston with nine

(15:28):
and Toronto Seattle eight nine apiece. It's it's a sweat
going down in the American League. Figgy, this is a
good thing. Now, this is one good aspect of the
extra wild card is that you have this drama in
four teams fighting for two spots. I wish we didn't
have to have it come down to one game. Uh,

(15:49):
but it certainly as exciting. I mean a team like Seattle,
I mean, my god. First of all, just their numbers.
I think they're like a minus fifty or something and
run differential, yet still find themselves in a position where
they can make the postseason. They have like the the
the weirdest run of a season that I can ever remember.
And I see him a lot out in the A
O West, you know, keeping close by on the Angels. Uh.

(16:12):
You know, Mitch Haniger has had a great year. Kyle
Seeger has had his averages down, but his power numbers
are through the roof. I think he has forty home
runs or something in a hundred rb I. Uh, it's insane. Uh,
the kind of run they've had, you kind of expect
New York and Boston to be there to a certain extent.
Toronto too. With vlad Jr. Vlad Jr, I kind of
feel bad for him. He's not gonna win the m

(16:32):
v P. But if it weren't for Showy Otani, he'd
be clearing away the m v P of the American
League totally totally and I agree. I mean, he's he's
That lineup has been incredible all year long. Semion Springers
back form ship had a great year, you know, Hernandez,
I mean they got they have a great, great line up.

(16:54):
So basically what you have is today you got Toronto's
walk got ball. The more the Rays have the Yankees,
the Red Sox have, the Nationals, and the Mariners of
the Angels. Yeah, and the Mariners had a tough loss
at home Friday night against the Angels two to one.
Now I was a killer because I actually thought that

(17:14):
they were going to snag one of the spots and
now you know, it's tough. Men. You get your two
games free to Yankees have the inside track because they
just gotta win. Was win one. They could have won
on Friday and clinched the playoffs spot and couldn't get
it done against the race. Would have nothing to play
for at this point. Yeah, but listen, they would love
to not at the absolutely because Tampa is where the

(17:36):
Yankees spring training headquarters is. There's a lot of rivalry.
You know, a lot of Yankee fans down there, absolutely,
without a doubt, so that would be interesting. Boston's got Washington.
So again, you gotta figure that they have a good chance.
Now we'll see what happens. Keep walking one Soto. I
think that's a smart move. I think they walked him
four times on Friday. Is at the hottest at in

(18:00):
baseball the last two months, And if the Nationals weren't
so terrible, he'd be in the MVP discussion. To be
honest with you, yes, yes, so let's let's let's kind
of handicap this if I said to you your team
in the American League and it's a great, great race,
because you know, think about it, astroids are ridiculous right there.

(18:22):
I mean, they just are they. They lineup is sick.
They're great, great team, and they're pitching is is understated.
From a name standpoint, Za GRANKI, he might need to
be in their starting rotation when the playoffs start. It's crazy,
but they they have a lot of a lot of
guys who have had really good years for them on
the mount understated, not a lot of big names. But
your point, their lineup is is second to none, and

(18:44):
I agree with that. I do think they actually have
They're starting pitching is completely on the radio. I'm with you,
Um White Sox are awesome. Yeah, I'm a big White
Sox like. I like that. I like that team. I
thought they would be good and uh I mean that.
I mean that's a good team. Now. The only problem

(19:05):
is is their rotation deep enough? Right right? And they
you know, they've kind of tapered off a little bit.
They now they've gotten hot the last week, week and
a half or so, But for a while they were
kind of middling along because they had dominated the central
so much. They kind of took their foot off the
gas and it's kind of hard to ramp it back
up again. Uh, now it seems like they may have
done that. I'll be at their playing, you know, the

(19:25):
likes of the Tigers and Indians and such. But still
you gotta play who's in front of you. So if
I was a White Sox fan, I'll be encouraged by
how they're playing now, because about a month month and
a half ago, Um, they were just kind of sliding
on by based off of what they did earlier in
the season. But they're definitely dangerous. But to your point, uh,
the pitching from an overall staff standpoint is a bit
of a question mark for them. Their bullpen is good,

(19:47):
they're starting pitching. What what are we expecting? I guess
it's the question. No, that's exactly right. And then when
you look at it, you know, again that's a big
disparity home road for them. They're under five hundred on
the road, and they they rake it home. I mean,
the ballpark is a hitter's bullpark, so they rake it home.
But on the road they struggle. But like whereas Tampa

(20:08):
is just a nasty squad man, they got great pitching,
they have a great lineup. You know, they're they're fifteen
games over five hundred on the road. You know, they're
gonna win a hundred games. You're at ninety nine now,
they're probably win a hunder games. They're they're they're that's
a great team. Man. It's amazing because year in year

(20:30):
out with that that franchise, it's it's incredible that it's
the talent that they put together. Yeah, and that they
just bring it all up through the minor leagues. You know,
they don't they don't. They're not gonna sign big time
free agents. Maybe just wing a trade for a guy
here and there. But it really is amazing the machine
they've created there and as good as they are pitching wise,
they don't necessarily have like a household name from a

(20:52):
starting pitching standpoint, a guy that's gonna blow you away.
They how many bullpen games do they usually have? How
many times do they run a guy after a couple
of endings? How many openers do they use? They have
their system down, you know, to a science. Uh, and
the they have mastered it. I mean it's a tough
pick out of the out of the American League, you know,

(21:14):
I mean I think, I think the National League, I
mean I feel confident. I think Dodgers and Braves are
probably the favorites there. You know, um American League, I
don't know. I mean strows raise, I guess. But you
know Yankees are gonna be. They're gonna be. They got hot,
they got a great line up. I mean, you know,

(21:34):
they got pitching now. I mean, call's got to get right.
But you know that that's a that's a great team.
Tampa is a great team. Chicago is dangerous. So I
mean that's a that's ah, that's pretty up to the air.
That American League is gonna be a fun battle. It is.
I would I if I had to make a pick
out of the American League. Would go with Tampa Bay
because I feel like they're the most complete and have

(21:54):
been the most consistent team, which is obviously at their
record uh in the American League from a pitching stamp offensively, uh,
their bullpen obviously is top notch as well. So I
think they're the most complete team of the American League.
They have the fewest amount of flaws overall compared to
the other teams that are either in the field or
would eventually make the field after this weekend. Yeah, I'm

(22:15):
with you. I'm with you. I'll tell you what I think,
hit some trending and then uh, let's take a our
first peak into college football. Perfect alright, We'll start with
the Major League Baseball. As we were discussing, the Giants
have clinched at least they tie for the National League
West championship. They beat the Padres three nothing. That is
their seventh consecutive victory. By the way, a Milwaukee victory

(22:36):
over the Dodgers would have clinched the n L West
outright for the Giants, but the Dodgers rallied from a
four run deficit to win eight to six. They remain
a couple of games back with two games remaining. By
the way, Clayton kersha I didn't leave them out in
the second inning due to forearm and elbow discomfort, and
after the game he expressed that the chances are he
will not be able to pitch in the postseason for
the Dodgers, so we'll have to continue to monitor that one.

(22:58):
In the American League, as we discussed seattle surprising home
loss to the Angels, Toronto defeated Baltimore. Those teams now
tied at one game behind Boston for the final wild
card at the Red Sox is Anthony mentioned of victory
over Washington. Meanwhile, the Yankees fell to the race, so
their lead over the Red Sox for the top wild
card is just one game. Speaking of college football, fifth
ranked Iowa five total touchdowns for Spencer Petross as they

(23:20):
molly walked Maryland fifty one to fourteen. They improved to
five and oh. Thirte r b y U was also
five and oh after a thirty four to twenty went
over Utah State and Houston a forty five to ten
victory over Tulsa. Back to the Fellas, all right, that's us,
we are the Fellas and uh it was it's a
big day in college football. Iowa did look fantastic, as

(23:42):
Figgy shared, and now we look at today, Dude, it's
awesome today. It's actually a really good matchups. So let's
take a quick end. They're the early games, the early
games that you want to pay attention to. We will
start off Georgia and Arkansas four O four no. Uh.

(24:02):
Georgia is a big favorite because they are, in my opinion,
the best team in the country. I got him in
shade over Alabama right now. I love their defense. Uh,
Daniels can can throw it. Their offense is good, balanced attack.
I think george is still the number one team in
the country. You got Arkansas. Now Arkansas struggles labors to score,

(24:28):
which is why the line is is pretty hefty. ALU
around seventeen today, I would I'm curious because I think
it's another statement game for Georgia. Georgia comes in and
if they can, you know, take care of busines against
Arkansas in a big way, that will solidify themselves. I mean,
you got the batman at all, miss so wanted to

(24:49):
with tests today, we'll see how they do Georgia. What
are you thinking, fig Well, Georgia is definitely the best
defense in the country. I don't think you can argue
against that. J C. Daniels. That they can keep them
up is obviously very very good. I wouldn't sleep on
Arkansas though, especially the The issue here is not knowing
if their quarterback kJ Jefferson's gonna play or not. Um.

(25:10):
Early in the week it was trending towards he was
going to play, and then they were kind of nebulous
about whether or not he was gonna be in the
lineup as of a Thursday. But look, he when he's
healthy and he's been in there, he's played well. They've
put up some points. They didn't score a lot of
points last weekend, granted, UM, but they they rolled over Texas, which, look,
I think Texas is kind of overrated. I don't think

(25:30):
they're that good, but they're still a solid team, and
they made them look silly a couple of weeks ago.
So that doesn't mean I think Alcasas is gonna win
the game, um, but I definitely think they can cover
that spread. I think it's seventeen points. You got, you
got ar all, we got money. They go Butler, We've
had to do the Butler beat Okay, I you know,

(25:52):
not only issue. You know what I mean. If I
can put a sec worder on this, it all depends
on whether and not kJ Jefferson plays, because that's a
huge difference. That makes a humongous difference, Kansas that Yes,
I agree with you. I agree if Jefferson plays, the
bat is on, all right. If he does not play,

(26:15):
no bat, got it. You know, gotta be a gentleman
about this. I appreciate that. I just worried. Listen. I
agree with that. I think I think Jefferson can play
a little bit. Problem is that you need seen anything
like that defense? Yeah, you know what I mean, absolutely,
that's my fear for the kid. And I know it's
seven team, but think about it. When would the number

(26:36):
eight team in the country four, no, be a seventeen
point dog unless you're playing Alabama over the last twelve
years or so. Now, granted, I will say that Georgia,
it's not like they faced the top competition this year either.
Clemson is not what we thought Clemson was going to
be coming into the season. Doesn't mean their defense is

(26:57):
any less great because it is. But I mean, Vanderbilt,
South Carolina, I mean, what are we doing so. Um,
Michigan Wisconsin, Michigan four noh Badgers. That's a great game
in the Big Ten. Now, Michigan, can they throw the football? Dude?

(27:20):
I mean they just don't throw it? Yeah. Well, this
is a huge game for Michigan because they've been worked
over badly by Wisconsin the last couple of years. Um. Now, Wisconsin,
at least based on these first few games, have not
looked very good this This looks like a pretty a
down a transition year for Wisconsin and Michigan has not
one uh in Madison in a long time. I don't

(27:42):
know how long it's been, but it's been a very
long time. You have to win this game, and quite honestly,
I think you have to win it convincingly, uh if
you're Michigan, if you truly are for real, whether you
run the ball, throw the ball, whatever it is. Wisconsin
is not the same Wisconsin team we're used to seeing. So,
but doesn't this kind of feel like one of those
typical typical games that Jim Harbaugh in Michigan ends up losing. Yeah,

(28:03):
I'll be honest, I love Wisconsin again, I do listen
like I'm not in love with Grand Murchs. I I
get it, um, but and and it got ugly latest
against Notre Dame first half. Wisconsin really controlled the first
half against the Irish, the same way they controlled the
game against Penn State, right and only to lose both games. Uh,

(28:27):
you know it's gonna be interesting. I just oxally don't think.
I don't trust from Michigan because they can't throw it.
I mean, they just won't throw the football. And I
don't know that that wins, yeah, not against you know,
quality opponents, you know not And again not that Wisconsin
is a quality opponent, but again they've kind of had
Michigan's number the last couple of years anyway, And and

(28:49):
even Michigan not to the same extent as Notre Dame,
which I know we'll get to. I don't know if
they've been overly impressive in their wins either, And I
you notwithstanding I mean actual real competition at Washington to
save this year too, But they they struggled to beat
Rutgers last week, and and Rutgers is decent, they're good,

(29:09):
but they Michigan should have wiped the floor with Rutgers
last week, and they didn't do that. Yeah, I'm listen,
I feel you on that. Uh. And then let's get
the Notre Dame because this game is a great game,
Cincinnati Notre Dame. Cincinnati has a chance to be in
the playoffs. I mean now they haven't been tested yet.

(29:34):
That had a nice game on the road two weeks
ago against Indiana. Indiana is not the same team they
were that. They still have Panics, who I like. But
Panics is not having the start of the season here
that he had last year. That's for sure. No, I
mean they had magic last year. Yes, no, no magic
for Indiana this year. But it's still a decent team,

(29:56):
especially at home. So Cincinnati wins that. Then they played
Mary State in Miamio. So this is They're gonna be
best real test of the season. And uh, I love
ridder Man. I think the kids applayer now it's only
been there for fifteen years. Wherever I know, it's it's crazy.

(30:19):
Him and Taylor Martinez, Oh my god, Taylor Martin the
breast right like, Martinez hasn't improved as a passer in
his in his thirty years as quarterback in the breast.
I don't know how that works. He's like, right, Fitzpatrick, Yeah, yeah,
we'll throw it up. Somebody's gonna catch it. I can't

(30:39):
guarantee what color jersey's wearing, but I'll throw it up there.
Oh my god. But that should be a great game, man,
Sit you downy, Notre Dame. I think there'll be some
point scored in that game too. Yeah, oh yeah, absolutely. Um.
I I want to see how Notre Dame holds up
on their Their offensive front has been a struggle. They
lost a lot of guys to graduation into the league,

(31:00):
and they've had to move a lot of guys around
this year due to injury up front on the offensive line.
So that's why Kyroen Williams hasn't gotten offense, why Jack
Cohen has had some issues at times offensively, and that
Cincinnati defense is really good. So I know, I think
Cincinnati's favored by two or maybe one. Now one of
those two, I would I like Cincinnati in the game
because I think defensively, uh, they'd be able to shut

(31:22):
down Notre Dame, who's had their struggles offensively, especially on
the offensive front. Yeah, I agree. I I like Cincinnati
a lot. I do think that they can make the playoffs,
and I think that they're think it's a good team,
potent offense, good on both sides of the ball. Also
today or against Stanford, big game for the Docks, who

(31:42):
also have playoff hopes. Remember goodwin opener against Freds. No,
they have a great win against Ohio State. They had
then they played Stony Brook and then then last week
they played Arizona and now they go visit Stanford and
and you know this big Stanford's interesting team because you know,

(32:03):
they lose the Kansas State. Then they dropped USC on
a Saturday night. I got uh, I got Clay Helton
fire at that game. Yeah. Yeah, they played Vandy tough,
and then last week they played u C. L as off. Uh.
But you know they're gonna They're gonna be a tough
out at home. And it's a good statement game for Oregon.

(32:24):
A little tested today, Yeah, especially if you can find
a way to win convincingly. Stanford. This is not one
of their better teams, but they've shown some fight and
they've been in pretty much every game they've played, with
the exception of the opening weekend against Kansas State, which
so far to right now looks like a bit of
an anomaly. More than anything else. They look like they're
gonna be a solid competitive team. And this is what

(32:44):
happens in the Pact twelve every year, Anthony, whoever it
is at the top of the conference, you know, stubs
their toe against a team that's mediocre or a team
that's not as good. So that's what Oregon has to
fight against really this weekend for the rest of the season,
because as of now they're pretty much the only team
carrying the banner for the remainder of that for the
for the conference. And now that U c l A.
You know, lost that game to Fresnel State, Yes, yes,

(33:09):
it's gonna be interesting. Um. And that there's that game
letter tonight, which I really am looking forward to U. C.
L A And Arizona State. You know, Herm versus Chip
and I'm on team Herm. I think Herm you going
to get to win. But we'll get to lots of
other games to discuss, including the Jewel of the Afternoon

(33:33):
in Tuscaloosa, Oh Miss, and that ridiculous offense against Obama.
That's a damn monster movie that's coming up. We'll discuss that.
We're the Fellas on a Fox Football Saturday, all right,
welcome back, Fellas. So today at three thirty East and

(34:02):
twelve thirty Pacific is the monster, Oh Miss Alabama. Man,
this is gonna be a fun game. Man. We'll see
how good the Obama defense is. They'll get tested in
a big way. Remember Florida put up twenty nine on

(34:23):
him in a tough game. Right, you know, I'm curious.
I don't know how good Alabama is. I don't know
now again Old Miss man forty three against Louisville against
olst to pay sixty one against Tulane. We know what
kind of offense. We know Lane Kiffin. We know he's

(34:46):
a ball breaker. He's a past who will still will
get under savings skin. How you look at this game.
I think it's great that Oh Miss has gotten off
to a phenomenals Dart and Matt corral another he and
Bryce Young too, so col guys that got away from
USC right in their backyard that went to the sec H.

(35:07):
But I think people need to slow their role on
hyping up Old Miss. I mean, really app State or
two Lane Louisville. Yeah, Alabama. The fact that people are
saying like, oh, there's there's a crack in Alabama's armor
because they lost a conference game on the road in
the swamp, which is not an easy place to play,

(35:29):
where they got out to a giant lead. I guess
if there is a minor level of concern for me
for Alabama, maybe they don't have the ability as of yet,
We're still early in the season. I don't know if
they've shown the ability to ice away games on the ground,
uh the way that they have in the past. But
Bryce Young has looked, has looked excellent to me, has
looked as advertised, uh from a quarterback position standpoint. So look,

(35:52):
I do think the game will be competitive to a degree.
But some idea that old MS is gonna come in
and they don't know what's gonna happen in Lane Kip
is going to roll up all these points against Alabama
greatly exaggerated. I still expect Alabama to win this game.
If I may throw in a stat, Hello Chris Hi,
good morning morning, good morning. Uh, very important stat though.

(36:16):
Saban's record against his former assistance twenty three and oh
he just doesn't let his disciples beat him. Ever, not
Kirby Smart. He's one to know against Lane Kiffen too,
he doesn't let his former disciples beat him. Know if
sandsor butts I think he even tongue in cheek. In
an interview earlier this week, Chris is like, oh, you know,
I get. You know a lot of my assistants get
poached from here. You know, eventually they're gonna get me.

(36:38):
I'm paraphrasing. That's essentially what he said. But I eventually eventually,
when is that going to be? I don't know. I
don't know, and I don't think it's gonna be. I
don't think it's gonna be later today, Anthony, to be
honest with you, So let me let me ask you
guys a question. Yeah, because I fully expect, you know,
I get, I expect all about him win the game.

(36:58):
I mean, do you think they cover spread? Well? Where
it's funny the line open to we're talking about the
total in this game, it's almos. I think it's I
think in someplace eighty. Now, I think, oh miss scores now,
I do like I like the over the game it's eighty,
and I still think I would go over and look

(37:20):
this team. They had shootout last year when the two
teams played. Yeah, so I so I get that. I mean,
do they cover It's a great question, man, It's a
great question. Eilean. Yes, Now I could be buying, you know,
from Charlatan. I could I could be. It could be

(37:46):
snake oil when I'm buying, could be. Look. And I
don't think, oh this is bad by any stretch. I
think they're gonna end up having a great season, But
I still don't think that they're in the class of
Alabama en If anything, I think Alabama got a wake
up call against Florida a couple of weeks ago and
in a game they won. Why is that like they
lost that game? Now, I think that if it wasn't
for a missed extra point, maybe they do. Alabama, they

(38:07):
just hoard talent. They're playing on a very different game
versus anyone else, even even farther ahead than Ohio State
and Clemson. Kids are taking time to like sit on
the bench there for two years just to play there,
and they're just you know, you see all these starters
leave for the NFL, and they just keep throwing more
at you. They just it's an unending machine. So I

(38:30):
just I find it really hard to doubt them here. Again,
like olmos As Figgy says, very good team, but again,
Alabama is just playing a very different game. One thing
that works in Almo's his favor here, Anthony is the
fact that the game is now and not a month
and a half from now. Because even if ole Miss
was playing better, Let's say, if they were, this is

(38:50):
a matchup of two one beatens and we're later into
the season, there's no Alabama would have hit it stride.
And I don't know if they hit their stride yet. Yeah,
even why, it's fair to say, that's fair to say
that they're catching him at the right time. And even
with that, Alabama is still a fourteen and a half
point favorite. And I think Alabama's covering that spread. Now,

(39:11):
if it was you said it started at two, whatever
it was, may have been hesitant. That tells you how
much money is coming in, how people, how much people
are drinking kiffins kool aid. Uh that the number? To
your point, the public dog is always a mutt. Yeah, yeah,
that's a truism. Anytime you see the public all all

(39:32):
over a dog, falling al over the dog, they get
drilled definitely, you know. So it's it's it's a great point.
It's a great point, I almost think. But I do
think they could square. I do like the over I
just think because listen, Kiffin is gonna keep throwing, throwing,
throwing and throwing. And I love I love the quarterback. Yeah,

(39:55):
Carrosse excellent, excellent. I love the quarterback. Man, I love
that kid, you know, like to me, I mean, I
got listen a lot of a lot of football left.
But if you're even if you're looking at a quarterback
for next year, it's Corral Willis. Maybe how but I
think Corral and will Is to get from Liberty are

(40:17):
are clearly the top two pigs right now. Easily. I
don't think there's even a question about that. Especially I
wasn't a big fan of Rattler anyway, as from my
NFL standpoint, and his and his stock has dropped even
more these first few weeks of the season. All Right,
we got big hour coming. Don't go anywhere. Sports guys

(41:23):
good Saturday morning. It's a Fox Football Saturday Morning, October
the second, going over the college slate, we'll take a
look at the NFL, of course, but all four sports
and action. Man, it's the best time of the year.
Baseball playoffs race is coming down to the last weekend

(41:47):
games next week. What day is to start? Tuesday or Wednesday?
Fake is? It's who? I think? It's usually Tuesday? The playoffs, Well,
I know the n O wild Card game is on Wednesday.
I believe the Ale is on two is day, I believe. Now.
The only thing I hate is the one game playoff.
It's the worst. It's the dumbest thing around. It's amazing.

(42:11):
MLB and I won't say baseball. We love baseball, but
MLB is the worst, right, Like they're the most clueless organization.
If you think about it. Everybody adds tears, right, Like
the NFL adds a playoff to add extra season, right,
if you can't have a Baseball is not a one

(42:32):
game sport. Football's are one game sport, not baseball. Baseball
series and you play so many games for it to
come down to one makes no sense. It's horrible if
you end up with. If you like, if the Dodgers
and the Giants ended up in a tiebreaker type situation,
I mean, conventional wisdom will tell you, all right, the

(42:54):
Giants won the regular season series ten games to nine.
There's your tiebreaker. Why are we playing extra game? That's stupid,
That makes no stupid, stupid, you know, it's so stupid,
the whole thing. And it needs to be redone, right,
like you gotta have tears of playoffs. It's got to
be series well, and we do have the collective bargaining
agreement is up after this season ends. Uh so maybe

(43:17):
that's something that they can talk about. I know we
had the Uber expanded playoffs last year after the after
the pandemic short and season. You had sixteen teams make
it and every series was three games. So the first
couple of series, which is fine, if you wanted to
make it two out of three, I'm on board with that.
Or if you wanted to make the higher seeded team,
you know, if it's a you know, have them win

(43:38):
one or the other team has to win too, whatever.
But you can't just have it come all come back
to one. That's like soccer. That's weird, you know. Sorry
Chris again, I like, I love I'm I like soccer.
I don't get their whole scoring system. It's the only
thing that's that's to me wrong with this board, like

(44:02):
the cumulative goals, like the playoffs, Like could the Premier
league just end the best team one of the most
games the playoffs? Man, that's that's but this is the thing,
this is the thing soccer is understood, and it's a
problem that American sports always tries to find the balance

(44:22):
of playoffs. One game elimination series is not the best
way to determine the best team. Quantity is the best
way to determine the best team in a sport like soccer.
That's why these league Cups, which are the one game
elimination playoffs that Americans crave, is kept separate from the
actual season and the league cup over there is seen

(44:45):
as a great source of pride because everyone gets a
play in it. Everyone gets a shot. But it's also
understood that it is not It is kept separate and
distinct from the season. The problem with American sports, the
problem for American sports is that their playoffs play problem. No,
I'm just saying like this quandry always that's your opinion,

(45:06):
It is my opinion, Mr euro but it's fact. First
of all, a team changes over the course of the year.
You've got to allow for a team to grow together.
That's why there there is such a thing as the playoffs.
That's why if you look at the Super Bowl, the NFL,
you know you got to allow for teams and the
war of attrition with injuries in a hundred sixty games schedule.

(45:27):
You think the best way to solve it is five games.
Like if if you have a problem with the wild card,
that's fine, but we what is the biggest game? What
is what? It's all the biggest ratings. When you say
those two and we say it all the time in sports,
the two magic words game seven. Fans want to see

(45:48):
win or take all games, so they're in this. They're
in a tough spot with the wild card I disagree
with you. You don't think there's anything magical about a
game seven? Yeah, but you gotta go on thet Yeah.
But but Holmes, you just don't fast forward to a
game seven. You gotta have a series that draws to
a game seven where you actually have, you know, drama

(46:10):
of both teams winning three games, fast forward in a
game seven and what what's that do? Does nothing? There's
no draw. You don't build any drama, you don't build
any ill will toward the opponent. I think a lot
of people just want to get to those games sevens.
I don't care. A lot of people can disagree with you.
Second of all, who Care's a lot of people think

(46:31):
what game seven? Yeah, you're right of Game seven is
awesome because you know why it got to a game seven.
I don't. I don't like the one game wild card.
At the same time, like I see the reactions for
people on that single elimination. It's not fair, it's not
a great situation, but people find plenty of drama in it.

(46:52):
Oh it's stupid. Oh thin stupid to baseball. There's sport. Okay,
it's a it's antithetical. You're right, it is. My opinion
it's antithetical to the sport. The sport is based off
of series play, is it not. It didn't always used

(47:13):
to be. It was always serious play because you play
a series against teams throughout the regular season, you have series. Yeah,
it's never a one off. You never play a team
once and thence. I mean there is something to be
said for the old school. Uh and I first of all,

(47:35):
they don't expanded. They want to give more markets chances
to be able to compete for championships, keep team people interested,
keep their ratings up, get more money. We know the
motivation for all this, but I think in it's purer
sense to find the best team. And again a said league,
I don't think that Chris is totally all based on
saying that you have to the regular season has to
mean something. I don't think we have to go all

(47:56):
the way back to where you know, the winner of
the American the best record of the American League, faces
the best win winner of the National League, and that
is the World Series. But that's how it was for
the longest time. Eventually, when the teams in each league, yeah,
and then eventually it goes to East and West and
we have a second round but then we divide up
for a third division at in the wild card. Now
it's what four four teams from from each league, eight

(48:20):
teams total. This is this is what I was trying
to get to though, is like the inclination is always
to expand a playoff because no matter what, a league
sees the money that a playoff brings in. But at
some point you expanded so much that it's just going
that it it strains you on what you need for
the regular season, and the wild card is just always

(48:42):
a symptom of that. And it's Listen, I don't disagree
that the regular season gets watered down. I mean, you
look at the NBA and the NHL at one point
they've expanded now, but at one point they mean six
team teams have been making the NBA and NHL for
you know, since I was born, since I was kid.
NHL feels like a different beast just because and I

(49:03):
know figure and I was talking about this affair while back,
like the Stanley Cup just is such a weird tournament
that it's it almost like they play the regular season,
but they like guys won't touch the regular season trophies
because they want to play in the Stanley Cup and
because anything can happen in those series that it just

(49:24):
sometimes super low seeded teams just always make it all
the way to the Stanley Cup. Well it's not always true,
but but at the same time, time goaltender. But that's
that's that's the point is like it's much more even
in that it's hot, you're not going to get that
in the end, b act, I would say more so
than any other major sport in the country. Um or

(49:46):
I guess you can even say the world. The NHL
lends itself to more upsets when its post season begins
than any other sport. Like god that we had how
many like reverse sweeps ridiculous in the Stanley Cup, how
many times the Sharks have the best record and in
the round of second round. So but here, but here's
the truth. But here's my point. We're talking about the
fact that you had sixteen teams make the playoffs. When

(50:07):
I was first starting, I was a kid, there were
twenty one teams in the NHL. So you've spent all
regular season to eliminate five teams, which was ridiculous, right,
you know, that was my only point about this regular
season being watered down. But now all you know, the

(50:28):
once you expand and have you know, a normal number
of teams, Like I love the NBA. You know playoffs.
I mean, look, don't they watering that down more now?
And with the play in tournament now? But that's again
the league going after a money grab. Yeah, I'm playing
the playing tournament stupid. Yeah. First of all, they want

(50:50):
to try to desperate to try to have a soccer
model into the into the league, but you're not quite
a soccer model because their regular season still tied to
the tournament. Okay, the commissioner invoked the soccer he called it,
So I think they get back down. Mr Euros shot

(51:13):
at soccer. It's the point that the commissioner is trying
to shoehorn another piece of it. But my point was
gonna be that the minute you you start to go
this round, this soccer is couple different because you have
multiple leagues. The NBA is just one league. There's a
lot of different things you play for in soccer. To like,

(51:35):
there are three leagues you go into. I kind of
allude to it when you look at like Champions League
Europa Europa Conference here, that's like going to the n
C A tournament the n I T and the cb I.
That's you have different tiers of what you play for.
The league cups in each nation are those as well?
So yeah, it's a very different model in that regard. Yeah,

(51:55):
this stupid mid season tournament that they're trying to hawk
is the most you a thing I've ever heard of
in my life. The idea that Russell Westbrook who's making
forty million dollars and Chris Paul who's making forty million
dollars and all these other they want to play for.
They want to play for a million dollars. Sure, I'm
sure they do. I'm sure they can whole things. It's

(52:16):
stupid things. I agree with you. Yeah, it's a waste.
I mean even I agree with Bars. I agree even
Bars is right, Boris, Yeah, that's Mr Euro Bars, Do
I get? Okay? Well, why did this become a Russian thing? Now?

(52:39):
I don't know. I didn't breaking your ball because because
the minute I just mentioned songer, have you called the life?
You want to throw a barb in here? Man, I
don't know. You're crossing your cross my favorite wires too,
because I am a big advocate for reducing playoffs. Yeah, well,
who cares? You. You know, I don't know. I think

(53:00):
Chris is wrong. Listen, you can feel what you feel. Yeah, fag,
I love it, you can feel Yeah. I know we
talking about this, what they expanded playoff on college football.
I've been against it, and you've been for it. Yeah,
I mean you know, and I was right? Is it?
You are? You are right now they're doing it. I
saw it coming, and that's what it is. Well, you

(53:23):
can see something coming, doesn't you have to agree with it.
I saw it coming to I think it's ridiculous, and
I think it's about playing years ago a regular season. Listen,
years ago and Link and I were doing the show.
I gave you that whole plan that was gonna happen.
It was years ago before this, even the expanded NFL.
I know you guys don't like it. I love it.

(53:45):
Give me more, more and more and more. Well, that's
how you end up with a one game wild card.
Well again, you don't have to have a one game
wild card. You can actually have a three game series
or five games series. But is that fair into division
leaders who don't have to sit around and wait for
three five days however long? It would be the NBA

(54:08):
division winners they play, they get home court. Yeah, but
it's it's different for baseball, like rust sets in a
lot faster on baseball if you're sitting around and they
should play. But I'm saying, I'm I'm talking about division leaders,
not wild card. If if if the wild card goes
three games, assuming like maybe a day in between somewhere
to move it, you're talking four days. I'll be honest

(54:28):
with you, I don't. I don't like the second wild card.
What I would do is I would just have the
one wild card and then I would have just an
expanded that I had seven games each of the series
after that. I mean, that's what I would do. I mean,
I I do agree the second wild card makes it bogus.

(54:49):
Either everybody plays or nobody plays, or are you either
everybody plays or you get rid of, you know, one
of the wild cards. I mean, that's how I look
at Yeah, I agree with I think you're right about that. Yeah,
I just that's that's always something I've noticed, Like you
will watch a team sleep sweep a Champion Series, Championship

(55:10):
Series a CS, and another team will go seven games
and they will come into the World Series and they
will beat up the team that swept. Why because the
team that swept had to sit at home for a week. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I agree with that. I do. All right, let's gotta
take quick TiO. Thanks bars, I'm glad you woke up.

(55:33):
Where's NICKI? Nick, You're I'm here. I'm making sure you're
all right here. I'm just listening to all right. I
just think that when you look at these these teams,
just these matchups, I think that, you know, I go
into the n b A I I despise what the
NBA is doing with this playing thing. I think it's just,

(55:54):
you know, I understand the money, but why are ruined
a good thing? Why are ruining these these series that
you have and be like, oh, well, this team who
has maybe a couple more wins has players team that
has a little less wins, but it has less wins
gets in the playoffs a team that it's better than them.
Like it makes zero, absolutely zero sense. And in baseball,
it's like, if it's not broke, don't fix you know,

(56:14):
don't have to fix it, like just leave that's the problem. Yeah,
that's pretty broke right now. You know. All right, we
gotta take quick til we'll come back. We'll start to
look at the rest of the coles getting the NFL.
I also have a couple of non sports things I
need to throw out, all right, And I'm curious. Once
a movie, once a TV show, and one is an activity.

(56:37):
So I want to get to where the fell is.
Right here on Fox Sports Radio, all right, it is
almost seventh thirty in the East, four thirty in the West.
Is a Fox Football Saturday. Big games today, Man to college.

(57:01):
Talk a lot about Alabama will miss early, Notre Dame, Cincinnati,
a lot of fun good college today. And now of
course NFL Week four. Uh, the Jewel Brady and the
Goat versus the Goat coach. I know, I thought what
everybody's been talking about it. I guess everybody's talked out

(57:22):
about it until Sunday night. You know. I keep thinking
about this game, and I how the world does Brady
not have a big one? Right? Like, isn't this what
the Jordan would do? Oh? Yeah, I put it into
his old team. Yeah. Now, I don't know how he
performed with the Wizards against the Bulls back and the like,
this is what he would I know what you mean

(57:43):
I'm getting. But first of all, he's on a better
team like now. I know, I liked New England coming
into this year. I thought they will be better defensively,
and they've been okay offensively. They have had their shriff
struggles for sure. I thought they'd run the ball better. Uh,
and they have not. And they sure as hell not
gonna start running your better against Tampa Bay this weekend.

(58:04):
So um, I would imagine that Tom Brady has a
has a pretty nice, pretty nice outing this Sunday night
in his own stopping grounds. Yeah. I mean I just
see you look at it and you go wow. But
I will see this though. Uh. Just look at the
landscape in the NFC and they flex last week. Dude,
Rams are just ridiculous, right, really good. I look at

(58:28):
this week they're playing Arizona. I think they dropped Arizona too. Yeah,
because the thing with Arizona for me is they haven't
really they as impressive as they've looked. They never really
played anybody, so and I don't think they certainly they
looked at great against Minnesota. That was a back and
forth matchup, um, and they had some struggles, especially in
the first half against Jacksonville. So the Rams look to

(58:50):
be on a completely different level. And I know that
Tom Brady had a good stat line through four four
dred yards and had fifty five pass at Tempis but
didn't throw a touchdown pass. Uh, they couldn't run the
all at all. Uh. That ram defense is not as
dominant as it was last year. But it's good and
it doesn't need to be because they have because they
have a real quarterback now that can make plays downfield.

(59:10):
They can make tight window throws and knows what he's
doing there. There's no more. I don't know if you're
still out here trying to talk about how Stafford can't
win games. I don't know if there's any help for
you at this point. Like he's done literally everything that
has been asked of him in the first three games.
There's there's plenty of teams that made that have like

(59:32):
the Cardinals. You mentioned it, Figgy. I I think that
three and o record is a bit fraudulent. There's a
few teams out there with three and o records right
now where you look at them and it's like like
the Broncos, They've they've played basically a college schedule. They
haven't actually played anybody played New York. The two New
York teams. I mean, what are we doing? Yeah? And
I think, yeah it but and then you flip it

(59:53):
around and the Rams have It's like, all right, well, okay,
here's here's a great Bears defense to start the year.
Let's see how you do? Oh? Actually know the Bears
aren't that good? Okay, Well, Matthew Stafford's record about against
winning teams probably hauled up there. Same with the Colts.
Colts were supposed to be a fantastic team. They've fallen apart.
What's the excuse though about the Buccaneers, Because the Buccaneers

(01:00:14):
are going to remain a playoff team. Probably they're gonna
win the the NFC South this year. I mean, they're
gonna win double digit games. Yeah, I just I I
look at what Stafford has done with that offense, and
I don't know how you can doubt him at all.
Right now, maybe he gets hurt later in the year,
he jams his hand. I've seen that in Detroit before.

(01:00:35):
While he'll like jam his hand or get hit a
shot in the ribs and then he's just kind of
playing hurt the rest of the year. Quarterback. That can
happen to anybody, and they look exactly. He's also not
He's not gonna be you know, dropping back to throw
was often. You know, he already hasn't been by the way,
He's been very, very efficient, but he hasn't been throwing
as much as they had in Detroit because the Rams

(01:00:56):
actually want to run the ball. That's what Sean mcveigh's
bread and butter. You're right about that, which is funny
because like when I was talking with our you know,
old pal Bow, old producer Bow would like at the
start of the season, he was terrified because cam Akers
was out. It's sorry, how are they going to run
the ball? And the Rams found ways to keep that
offense balanced. Henderson and Michelle no drop off at least

(01:01:17):
very little. Because here's the thing. You got to play
the Rams with a light box like you you got
you know, so you know a lot of times it
doesn't matter who's running the ball. As long as you
have incredible back. You know, you're you're all right because
the receivers are so dangerous to quarterback has such a
good arm. I mean, look, if Deshaw Jackson can stay healthy,

(01:01:41):
now that's a big because he hasn't over the last
five years. But if you can stay healthy man, he
could still run past the cover two. He's a dangerous,
dangerous man. With Van Jefferson that to to go with
two legit terrific arting receivers, I mean, I mean, that's

(01:02:02):
just I mean, that's death. Even if de Sean wasn't
healthy or couldn't play, I still don't know how much
that would actually affect him that good and not deep.
By the way, with that balanced offense, Matthew Stafford still
through three games has more passing yards than Patrick Mahomes. Yeah,
and I've thought you brought practic Mahomes up too, because
because I don't know how much of the Charger chief

(01:02:24):
game you saw last week, and you talk about the
rams and running the ball, and you know Andy Reid
as great as he is, and he is phenomenal and
I love him, but one of his flaws as a
coach over through the years, he falls in love throwing
the football. And the Chargers I think knew that last
week because they were the Chiefs were able to run
the ball at well whenever they wanted to. But I

(01:02:45):
knew that they knew Andy Reid would not be able
to help himself and that had to air the ball
out at some point and they knew, whatever, You're right,
I've seen it. I know Andy. I love him, he
and and listened. He knew where the league was headed,
like I'd never forget, like you know. And two, if
you go back to when he came into the league,

(01:03:07):
he came into the league in n all right, in
read is the rookie head coach for the Eagles comes
from Green Bay. I was actually working for the Philadelphia
Inquire and so I you know, I knew Andy from
Green Bay was in New York, and I would do

(01:03:27):
a lot of NFL stuff league stuff new Andy. I
thought it was great. Higher and anyway we saw him.
I saw him firsthand how to build a team, and
he again that was still like a run run run
league at that era. It didn't really change until the Mannings,

(01:03:48):
you know, the Mannings and Brady start to really figure
it out, you know, and they became overseas on the field,
and you know, they matured a bit. But I mean,
and then you saw the sea change once you hit
the twenty two. Well then the illegal contacts and not
being able to touch receivers I think had a huge
effect on it too. Yeah, but he told me We
have many conversations and he said to me, you know

(01:04:11):
numerous times, look, you're you're only you're gonna have to
move the ball through the air. And it's it's good
to passing league because the town would get on him
all the time. Dude, run run, run, run run. You're
not running. You're not running, You're throwing a ball too
much with Donovan and you know, I mean he saw

(01:04:32):
it coming, but I agree it is an achilles heel.
And the only way to play the Chiefs is to
sit back and actually say, all right, you know, you
you gotta I'd rather have death by a thousand cuts
than death by a machete, right, And then I only

(01:04:52):
brought that up to bring up McVeigh as a comparison.
He doesn't care if he has Matt Stafford as his quarterback.
If you're gonna give him the run, he will run
the ball down your throat like and that's the that's
the thing that he does, no ego when it comes
to that. I'm sure Stafford, at this point in time,
with the as little winning as he's done in his career,
could care less. That's what made Belichick so great. You know,
Brady can throw the ball fifty times one a weekend

(01:05:14):
throw twenty times, the next hand the ball off to
you know, Corey Dillon or whoever else back in the day. Yeah, man,
you know and and and he Mead is one of
the best. But I will say one of the best
is always able to adjust to the opponent and adjust
to the talent that you have to work with. It's
amazing too, was like, do you think think about you know,

(01:05:36):
the weapons that he has, their toys like he loves it,
like he loves and now he's got Josh Gordon by
the way, too interesting. But even Miko Harden who could
run past the cover two right, Tyreek Kelsey the best
Titan in the league. I mean, and you got the
best quarterback in the league. So all you want to
do is go, oh my god, I just want to

(01:05:57):
throw it? Why don't want I I don't want to
run word running like it's almost too boring for him
to run when he's got all those weapons. Right. Part
of me understands that. But in a game, especially like
last week, the way that it unfolded, knowing that they
got back into it though, Anthony by running the ball,
you know, softening up the middle and getting back into

(01:06:18):
it in the second half, and yet at the very
end it was throw the ball up again, you know,
and get picked off and all that. So now listen,
you're dead right about it. And it's funny, right like
they're playing Eagles and Eagles are not good. Um, but
their defensive Coordinatagles defensive coordinator, I know what exactly what
he's gonna do. He tried to do it with Dallas

(01:06:38):
last week. Or he's like, I just want to keep
everybody in front of me, all right, And so he
has a box six seven men in the box, and
you saw Zeke and Pollard just run all day long.
Then they were running to the second level with every carry,
and he they're gonna do the same thing, and Andy's
gonna have to sit back. Just run Hilaire all day long. Yeah,

(01:07:03):
And look, there were times in the past in Philadelphia
where he was able to do it. You know, I
remember games where Duce Staley would have twenty seven carries
and run for a hundred and sixty yards. There were
just few and far between for whatever reason, even though
he had the talent, uh to be able to do that.
It's just I think this chief team that the weapons,
the toys are so tempting, right, antilizing. Yes, that you go.

(01:07:27):
It's like I don't feel like I gotta run it again.
It's the Mike marks theory. Yeah, I got a Markshaw falk.
When I got a hold, and I got Bruce, and
I got a game, and I got all these guys
I can throw the ball too, and I got part
of me. Get fun, man, Yeah, it's way more fun.
I think everywhere everybody with some trending. All right, well,
well it's start in Major League Baseball. There's still much

(01:07:48):
to be decided here in the final weekend. The Dodgers,
excuse me, the Giants, I'll start there. They got a
home run from Darren Rough, They got a three nothing
victory over San Diego and clinched at least they share
of the National League West crown. The Dodgers stayed live
in the West. They stormed back for an eight to
six victory over Milwaukee after being behind five to one,
l a two games back of the Giants with two
games remaining. In the American League. Home runs for Bobby

(01:08:10):
dow Back and Hunter Renfro They each went deep for
Boston in a victory over the Nationals. The Yankees fell
to Tampa Bay, New York, a one game lead over
the Socks for the top wild card elsewhere in Toronto
one in Seattle lost. Those teams are tied at one
game back of the Red Sox for the final wild card.
Injury news out of the NFL Packers, Pro Bowl linebackers
and Darius Smith have back surgery on Friday, who will

(01:08:32):
be out for an extended period of time. Forty Niners
tiedy and George Kittle questionable for this weekend's game against
Seattle with a calf injury, and Buccaneers tied in. Rob
Gronkowski doubtful for Sunday night as they take on his
former team in New England. He has a rib injury.
College football fifth ranked Iowa Hammer Maryland fifty one to
four team b y u A thirty four. It's twent
win over Utah States. Houston defeated Tulsa to ten. Back

(01:09:19):
Slash Yesson Report limitations apply, all right, Uh one of
the it's fast because we've got's talking about the Rams
and I'm I'm with Figgy a ton. I just look
at that McVeigh is terrific. You look at that RAM
team easily the class of the NFC a f C.

(01:09:42):
I still like the Chiefs, man. I still think Chiefs
are the best team. Chargers are fantastic during a terrific
terrific team, Buffalo looks back to uh kind of itself
and the Bills are gonna be right there at the end.
It is interesting because when you look at it, fig

(01:10:03):
the a f C South, you go, you're probably not
in love with right you look? You look at the East.
You know he gets Buffalo. You look at the North.
Do you trust Baltimore? Can? I not? Right now? Because
like let me I, they are basically a play and

(01:10:25):
a Philip Tucker historic game winning field goal that banked
off the crossbar, not salty about it, away from being
oh and three right now like they they have been
on the razor's edge in every game and only one
time did to go their way in that wild overtime
against the Raiders, but I I mean, I'm sorry against

(01:10:47):
them in the Raiders like they could very well be
on the other side of this. I think they really
need to win this game against Denver. Denver was banged up. Yeah,
same because Denver's yeah, their offensive lines banged up. But
Liken to Chub is hurt. Uh, Judy's hurt, you know.

(01:11:08):
J Hammler I think got injured too. Yeah yeah, yeah,
So they've got some struggles coming off of their soft patricks. Yeah,
the off of their soft open to the season. This
will be a good matchup for both for Denver because
this is kind of the first quality opponent they would
have seen this year. You know. I like what Teddy
Bridgewater has been doing, but again, who was even doing
it against? And his passing numbers for Lamar Jackson if

(01:11:31):
he's even gonna play, by the way, even though he's
having a back issue, uh is currently questionable for the game.
But his passing numbers have been really good if you
just look at the stats. But I feel like it's
always been that way with him. Uh, he fills up
the stat sheet. They do a good job of scheme
and guys open for him more often than not, but
they've just been banged up to they just can't get
the rest of their ground game involved. You know, it's

(01:11:52):
great that you can have Lamar Jackson run, but you
kind of want someone else to take the ball every
now and then too. The problem is who's the someone else. Yeah,
I know the tack. I mean, I've heard Tyson Williams
like they like him, but I think that's more of
a pass catching running back roll, Like they don't really
have anyone else to run the ball. To your point,
like the experiment with Tavius Murray isn't really working out

(01:12:15):
for him. No, I know, it's it's it's interesting because
it feels like the league is very top heavy and
by the way, this is supposed to be a sack.
This is supposed to be a pretty good defense in
Baltimore too. And I agree with you, I know, but
I mean in the past they've been and just they

(01:12:36):
just haven't produced that same kind of pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
I don't think is that good. I love Detroit last
we talked about it during the local show Love the Lines.
Loved your Lines latest week. I thought they were the
spot was perfect for Detroit. Yeah, they've they've invested well
in the offensive line in Penay Swell. Like he's everything

(01:12:58):
I've wanted out of an offensive tap right now. I
know our old big man Link probably still gushes about him,
but like he's gonna finally be turning twenty one, legal
to drink, and already he's had three games where he's
just held his own on that corner. Yeah, I mean,
I'll give the lines credit for competing and losing, you know,
in on pretty heartbreaking fashion as only the Lions can.

(01:13:20):
But I've ever keeping it real. I mean, if if
Hollywood Brown can catch a cold, that that game is
not competitive. Yeah, it's it's a bad defense. They have
a bad defense. They they just released Jamie Collins. They
are still trying to get out from a lot of
these Patricia system guys that they signed a very big deals.
Their defense is still going to remain bottom tier. And

(01:13:41):
on the offense, it's they still cannot have Jared Goff
play a consistent game. He'll have one good half and
then he'll just shrink away. No, I haven't seen that before. Yeah,
so it's that that's just kind of the reality of it.
But you at least look at the pieces and you're like,
all right, well, when they do run the ball, DeAndre
Swift looks really good and he also can catch plenty
of passes. And you know their offensive line, you see

(01:14:04):
what they're building for in the future. It's just it's
not going to be here this year. And it's certainly
not gonna be here when you're playing undrafted rookie free
agents corners right now because you're so banged up in
your secondary. What do you what do you do against
the no name quarterback, against against game time decision quarterback.
It's crazy, man. They were bringing something the quarterback. They

(01:14:29):
were bringing some exotic packages against Lamar Jackson last week.
The Lions were and I think that that kept Lamar
Jackson bottled up. And I think they're gonna play. They're
going to be running now against the worst offensive line Chicago.
Chicago's offensive line is really bad. Yeah, I don't. Here's
the thing. I don't think you can go back to field,
though I wouldn't. I'm not throwing them to the walls.

(01:14:50):
If it was me. I'm paying Nick Foles all that money.
Throw him in there. I don't care if he's trying
to get traded or not. I was two, Yeah, throw
him in there. I can't if anybody went back and
watched that game last week. Now, justin fields was not perfect.
I'm not gonna one net yard. He takes sixty yards
passing seventy sixty seven yards forty seven yards of offense total.

(01:15:13):
I mean that's historically bad. But it wasn't all on field.
He had no time to throw. The scheme was terrible. Nagg,
He's terrible. We know that already and we've known, we've
known that something he needed to work on coming into
the league. Every draft scout was like, yeah, this guy
needs to be away. It doesn't have great awareness of
when he's getting pressure in the pocket. We all know
he wasn't ready well and I think I think this
is something too when you look at his work at
quarterbacks is and I was talking this with some of

(01:15:35):
the guys here, you know early in a week, this
is a thing. Has to be the one rookie class
where I look at them and where they've gone, just
the offensive lines that have to play behind, and I'm like,
it feels like David Carr, like always David cars have
gone to the Texans basically because they just have no
time to throw. I saw a tweet during when the
games on Sunday, and it was during the middle of
the games and said, like at the point where these

(01:15:57):
games were like halftime and stuff, the quarterbacks rookies were
sack like eighteen times. Like that's a lot. Yeah, you know,
bring awareness, like these guys need more time in the
pocket when it comes to Fields. Sit him down. You're
paying Nick Foles all that money. You know, let the
kid learn, but also like save the kid as well.
I don't don't put him out there against you know,

(01:16:18):
with a bad offensive line and then get his confidence
destroyed and then next year you're finding and trying to
find another quarterback in the next couple of years. Yeah,
the problem is Matt Naggie's gonna lose his job and
he's flailing against it. So that kind of logical world
it doesn't apply here. Well, part of me also kind
of thought that Naggie was kind of holding off again
with Fields because he might would allow him to go

(01:16:40):
to management and say like, hey, Patrick Mahomes sat for
a year, give me another year. You know that doesn't work.
At this point, He's he's had he's had two high
drafted quarterbacks. He doesn't get that. Excuse Oh, I totally
get that. All right, let's take a quick t O
will come back, continue our foray around the football. Also,

(01:17:02):
a big movie, uh is out and and it has
to do with a TV show. Looking forward to it.
I want to run up buy you guys. We are

It's amazing because Discovers accepted of places in the United

slash yes Nielson Report limitations apply. I figure I gotta
ask you a couple of things. Uh. Many States of

(01:17:51):
Newark drop lastline. HBO in theaters is the Sopranos prequel
of this um um, I would be in. I'm interested.
My problem is uh, and this might be a violation.
I did not watch the show. I did not have
cable or HBO when I was growing up, so I

(01:18:12):
wasn't able to watch it. But I know I can
watch it now. I know I can when I do
have the ability to watch it now. So that's not
really about it's funny because like I get, you know,
it's interesting. Do you watch like a show that was
that acclaimed that's now, you know, I guess twenty years
twe years old, right, it started twenty years ago and

(01:18:33):
ran for like ten seasons or whatever, but that it
received that much height. I mean my my originally my
two favorite shows were always Sopranos in the Wire, you know,
I love, I loved, but there were there were groundbreaking
that was groundbreaking television for for a lot of weight.
Now the TV is exceptional, like it's there's so many

(01:18:55):
great shows, it's it really is exceptional. But for some
of the you do you go back and say, you
know what, you know, I'm gonna I'm wanna go and
watch it because you know, it's almost like should be
in your arsenal. Yes, and I did that with The Wire.
I did not for for the same reason I didn't
watch The Wire live. It wasn't until years later at
the same time. Yeah, so a friend of mine who

(01:19:17):
actually at The Wire on DVD the entire series. For
you kids who don't know what DVDs are, it's like
a little circular thing that you will put inside of
a player and video pictures pop up on the screen.
But anyway, I used, Yeah, I watched that that entire
series afterwards, so I'd be more than willing to do
that for the Sopranos as well, knowing how you know,
wildly loved and acclaimed it was. I know a lot

(01:19:38):
of people were not pleased with the ending. I do
know that, um, but overall, yeah, it's thought of as
one of the great shows in TV history. And I'm
curious because I obviously I watched it, and we was
before the Vans, right, you watch it every week? Yeah,
so I'm curious about the movie. I'm like, I'm looking
forward to I want to watch it tonight. Now have

(01:19:58):
you seen, if you've seen any preview for it? Does
it look Are you watching it because you feel like
you need to watch it? Are you watching it because
it actually looks good and you think that actually did
a good job. I'm watching because I mean, I got him.
I was a fan of the show, So you know,
I definitely wanna. I just wanna, you know, I want
to check it out. I'm curious to see what it's like.

(01:20:19):
I heard it was not. I mean, got so so reviewed.
So whatever. Now are there original cast members who are
back in this? Well, it's because it's a prequel. It's
all so young. People are younger, so it's exactly got
exactly So I'm looking for a game of feen. Even
the tony soprano his son is playing who died His

(01:20:39):
son is playing him, So that's gonna be interesting. I'm
I'm kind kind of looking forward to it. Uh, let
me ask you this. There's another show that's all the
sudden people are going wild about and it's a Korean show.
You ever heard of this? It's called Squid Game and

(01:21:04):
it's it's unbelievable. I watched the first episode late. I
didn't know anything about it about last night yesterday noring
my local and I go, oh my god, what is
this because there it's like all these people who are
destitute looking for money. They're getting together this place and

(01:21:27):
they played children's games, but there's like deadly ramifications. If
you lose, so you get you play gold fish and
if you lose, you get aheaded and it's it's crazy. Yeah,
don't call anywhere, Fallace. Fox Sports Radio has the best

great stuff, a lot of great college football today. Later
on we've talked a lot about it. We'll revisit it.
We got Notre Dame, Cincinnati, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Georgia. I
still think Georgia number one team in the country. I'll
take him over Obama, Obama, Oh Miss. Game in the day,

(01:22:34):
U C. L A, Arizona State, Penn State, Indiana, some
great game all burn l as you. Some great football
going on. If I said he a truism figgy, the
that the big it's wide opening college football and the

(01:22:56):
the big boys are mostly flaw which will leave it
wide open for the playoff. Would you would you say true?
Would you buy that? Absolutely? Because I don't. Alabama obviously
is not as at least again not yet as dominant
as we're used to them being. Uh, from out of
the gate. They have flaws. Again, I talked about earlier

(01:23:19):
in the show about them not being able to run
the ball to ice games away. Uh. Georgia is dominant
defensively but and good offensively but definitely have had their
share of issues here and there as well. Um so yeah,
I don't know if there's any clear cut head and
shoulders above everybody else type of team like Alabama has
essentially been along with Clemson, who is not even a

(01:23:39):
factor anymore at this point. For being honest, let let
me play this game a little exercise with you. Ready.
I'm going to give you a team, and you say
lock for the final four? You say no shot or
in a mix? All right, Georgia lock for the final four? Agree,

(01:24:03):
Arkansas no shot when it's all said and done, Michigan
no shot, notre name in the mix, Cincinnati in the mix?
In the mix in the mix? Or oh Miss, no shot?

(01:24:31):
Dama obviously they're in Oregon in the mix? Wow, did
not go lock for the I can't put as I
can't put a pack twelve team as a lock. I've
seen too much over the last decade. No Oklahoma in
the mix. They're not good either. They have been very average,

(01:24:56):
And I think that I think that's a I think
that's an understatement. Specifically, Spencer Rattler very. They they eat
past two Lane, they roll Western Carolina, they eat past Nebraska,
and they eat past West Virginia, Kansas State. Rattler and

(01:25:18):
I do I agree. I think case Stake ats him.
I think you're right on that's a figgy special. I
like that play. Um did you see that quarterback thing?
They did? A quarterback uh? In high school? Spencer Rattler
is pretty arrogant. Um, Yeah, I mean, first of all,

(01:25:42):
a lot of these guys nowadays are celebrity by the
time they're sixteen or seventeen, So I guess it'll be
pretty hard, be pretty hard not to be arrogant. And
all of a sudden, you throw n I L into
the mix, and these guys are getting recruited based on
the amount of money they can make if they go
to a certain school. It's only gonna make it worse. Anthony.
From that point, You're right, I did. He was like
yo yo, Brady turning it down man, Ohio State. I'll

(01:26:09):
put them in the mix for now, But it's trending
towards no shot as the way the defense has looked.
But because I still think they're the class of the
of the Big ten. For the most part, I still
think as good as a start as I was gotten
off to. I still don't know if they're if they're
if they're it, and maybe you're yeah, and I'll put
them in the mix too, um, but yeah, I was

(01:26:33):
from my how State standpoint, I'll say they're in the mix.
But as of now, trending down, Florida in the mix.
And I didn't think I would say that at the
start of the season, but all of a sudden, Emery
Jones started protecting the football and I'll turn them the
ball over every week. They have a shot. They're as
talented as any team in the nation. They always are.
Um and uh Mlin is doing a hell of a

(01:26:55):
job down there so offensively and always has no matter
he's he's always been great, an offensive comeleon, being able
to work with whatever talent he has around him. So
kudos to him for that. Bailer, no shot, no team, Yeah, No,
no team out of the Big twelve, with the exception
of Oklahoma. How about that has a shot? Oklahoma State,
No Penn State in the mix, in the mix, Michigan State.

(01:27:23):
M I'm gonna say, no shot with the potential of
being able to trend up to possibly in the mix
thereas they've been a surprise earlier on in the season,
and I like what they've seen, what I've seen so
far from them, so especially defensively, So they're trending Clemson
out there completely out of them, and no, no shot,

(01:27:45):
they're done Auburn in the mix. I want to see
what this new quarterback does for them, assuming boat Knicks
doesn't get back in the lineup. L s U. No shot.
I had a buddy who I trust, who knows he
shocked me because I agree with you. It was like,

(01:28:07):
all you know, Shot, he goes you watch Els was
going to make a run. I mean, I guess it's possible.
I mean, you're just about murderous row of opponent. It's
starting with Auburn in Florida. You're at Old Miss and
at Alabama. I mean that's right. I mean, did you
have a tough schedule? I mean, just in despite the

(01:28:27):
by the way, this is and this is not your
you know, usual L s U team either, by the way,
so I mean you cut a couple that on on
top of the fact that they have a super tough
schedule with some really tough road games in the mix,
it's gonna be hard. And they already have a loss
against U. C. L A. So I mean, in the
SEC you're probably talking at most, if you're talking about

(01:28:50):
being in the mix for the playoff, at most you
can have two losses, and I just don't see that
flushing itself out. By the end of the season for them,
they probably have three or four. I agree, I agree,
I take excellent stuff. I'm with you on a lot
of that. Hey real quick. Squid game, Yeah, all right,
the thing is bizarre. So you heard of it? Yeah,

(01:29:12):
I heard of it. I saw it because it was
trending the other night on Twitter, and I was like,
what the hell is squid game? And I saw and
I've seen blurbs over the over like a three or
four day period, and so I decided, okay, I'll just
click on this and see what it's about. And yeah,
I saw that. It was some sort of TV show
where these people played children's games. But it's not just

(01:29:33):
you lose and say, oh sorry, little Timmy, play next time.
It's like, no, you lose, you lose a lot of money,
or you end up dying or something that that's kind
of what I gathered from without having a full background
of exactly what it's about. But that's kind of what
I've gathered from what I've read red Light, green Light
you dead jan no pressure, Like, oh my god, you're

(01:29:58):
playing rock'm sock and robot but when you when your
robots hip hops off, so does yours? Is that how
it works? Oh my god, that's awesome. You gotta be
in on that. You also are a Korean file. Wait
what did I get this label? Now? What? Oh? You

(01:30:19):
we have talked. You have an affinity towards Korean cuisine,
towards Korean culture, towards towards Japanese culture. Yeah, it's fine,
but like, no, no, I was gonna say, but like
we've had plenty of Korean culture kind of infusing in here,
especially after Parasite and some of the other shows and movies,

(01:30:42):
since it was an incredible, fantastic and Squid Games. There's
a lot of similarities with that, and like you know,
the old there was like that old Japanese movie Battle
Royale which kind of inspired Hunger Games, the same kind
of idea for a lot of it. It's that, you know,
this kind of dystopian take on you know, survival in

(01:31:02):
our modern world, so I I see why it appeals.
I haven't checked it out yet. I'm very I can
be very slow on my TV pickups. Sometimes you will
be both kind of got a hunder hunger Games vibe
from reading about this show. Is that kind of yeah? Yeah,
Like about twenty years ago, there was this like Japanese
book and movie called Battle Royale, which was kind of

(01:31:24):
the same idea. It was like taking a bunch of
of Japanese teenagers out of school, putting them on an
island and telling them you've got to kill each other
to survive. Like every all these other stories of kind
of come from that vein of you, of this idea
of societal not quite collapse but withering that has given

(01:31:46):
rise to just incredibly an incredibly board way to like
look at, yeah, the destitute and figuring out how do
we get some entertainment out of them? You're right, and
I think the law of that's going into the game.
And I think that's the fascination with it too, that
you know, life is cheap around our modern world and
we also also really like entertainment, So how are those

(01:32:09):
things combined? Well, they combined with sig Squid Games. Yeah, no,
it's excellent, excellent summation. I'm proud of you. Do we
know why it's called squid Games or is it? Is
that just the English translation over from what it was
originally called? You know what, I don't know. I'd have to,
I'd have to. I watched the first episode late. It's
like just to kind of get a feel for it. Guys,

(01:32:32):
the guys with the masks and like the pink suits
are very creepy. I'll give it that. Yeah, it's great.
It's a great show. There's somebody else gave me another one,
uh called Midnight Mass I've heard of this, Yeah, I've
I've actually been urged to check this out. Yeah, it's uh.
I watched the first episode of that as well, and

(01:32:52):
it was really good. It's about like, um, this island,
like sparse, sparsely populated island in the Northeast, and it's uh,
it's really good. It's good. It's creepy. I the person
who described to me said maybe Midsummer type of vibes

(01:33:15):
to it, but I obviously haven't Midsummer. It was a
really creepy movie a few years ago. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Yeah,
it's got it's got something. Now, Nikki, you watched too
many Saints of Newark. I did, And before I dive
into this, you mentioned the whole squid game. How I
got his name. Well, squid Games actually named after a

(01:33:35):
children's game that was famous in Korean in seventies and
the eighties, and the court that's played on his shaped
like a squid, So therefore it's called swid game. All right,
I like it, Um, but yes I would. But I
did watch many Saints in Newark before I came into
the studio tonight, and I will say this. I'm not
gonna spoil anything, of course, um, but I will say this.

(01:33:58):
If you're going to this movie expecting a straight up
Tony Soprano centered movie, you're going to be disappointed. This
is not focus on Tony Soprano. He has a character
in it, but it's not focused on him. It's more
focused on Dickie Multa Santi who, of course is Christopher
Michael Imperio, always character in the show's Father. It's more
focused on him and his crew during the nineteen sixties

(01:34:22):
and seventies. Um. And I will say this as somebody
who is not a fan of how the show ended
After watching this, this made me want to go back
and rewatch the show from start, which I did. I
watched a pilot after I watched this, after I watched
Many Stants Newark. Um, I think it's a solid movie.

(01:34:42):
I don't think it's great, but I will say this.
I say it's solid because if you're a Sopranos fan
and you want to know some like maybe some background
info or some info that can fill in the cracks
when you go back to watching people mentioned certain things
about certain characters, you're like, oh, I watched Many Stants
Newark and I get that out it Like, it really
bridges a little bit of a gap there. You have

(01:35:03):
to be a you have to be a real uber
Sopranos fan. I don't know if you have to be
an uber Sopranos fan. I will say this, it does
help if you do know like the main players of
characters from the show. But I liked it overall. I
really enjoyed it. Oh good, all right, I'm gonna watch
tonight and I will say this, Michael Games, you can
get away from the football. Michael gandal Phoene, of course,

(01:35:23):
is James Gandalfhene's son. Tremendous job as you soprano. Yeah,
that's very cool and actually also show Tony's life, just
like I said, as a side character, from being a
little kid like in sixth grade to his teenage years.
So yeah, if you're going expecting a full on toy
soprano how he became the toy of Pano from the show,

(01:35:44):
you're gonna be kind disappointed in that. But overall it's
a really really I think slad movie. All right, Oh good, thanks,
I appreciate it. All right, we're gonna take a quick
time out, will come back. Now here's the deal. We
got the geek now is our fantasy expert. So he's
gonna give you We're gonna look at the games from

(01:36:06):
a fantasy standpoint. Now, if you have questions for the geek,
like for your own league, like who you want to
pick up, who should start, who should sit, like to
start sick questions, this dude all he does is fantasy. Yeah,
he's in like a hundred and three hundred leagues. It's ridiculous. Right,

(01:36:26):
you could call it's eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
eight seven seven nine nine on Fox, or you know,
fig what's your Twitter? So in fact, you could tweet
Figgy and Figgy you'll ask called the oh ask called
the questions. Yeah at k fig one is where you
can find me. That's K F I, G G and
the numeral one. To send me those those questions for

(01:36:48):
the geek. Yes, send Figgy questions. I'm at Anthony el
gargano UM on Instagram and on Anthony Lewis Gargant on Instagram,
Anthony elgar Gana on Twitter. But you try to go
hit the fig with a lot of the questions will
make hing, will center it through him. Or you can
call and talk to the fit and talk to the
geek personally. So we'll we'll do that coming up next

(01:37:13):
eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox, where the fellas
right here on a Fox Football Saturday. All right, fellas, yo,
fake straight up top of the hour. Figgy, we got

(01:37:40):
another guess. All right, dude, what did you rene? It's
quote a vague you're gonna go knocks, Okay, looking forward
to this. Then the O G fella baby Mr Rain
himself Lkay Cigar, that's right, Look at Kennedy. I love

(01:38:06):
it and that's awesome. That's great. It's been a while.
We spoke to the big man. Yeah, so yo, Gee,
it was Lincoln Eye for he fifteen years a long time.
And now of course Link is uh focus on his
raider's duty. So we'll get all. It'll be fun to

(01:38:28):
talk to that big fella. Cannot wait, and it's always
fun talking it is. Man, Are you ready for fantasy?
He is? I don't even know his last name. I
don't even know his first name. I just know he
is the geek. So we're waiting to get to the geek.

(01:38:52):
Gee's probably asleep. Still wake him up. He's up all
night getting his fantasy notes together. Those line ups all.
I mean, he's one of these dudes whose guy who
has Yeah, I has to put it. I don't like.
I get like, you're in a couple of fantasy leagues, right,
but the guys like the geek who are in I

(01:39:14):
don't know, three hundred. How do you keep all those
waiver wires? Wow? How do you even? Yeah? I was
the most I was ever in and one year was
four and my head was going to explode. I can
do two tops, Yeah, I scaled it back. I'm only
in one this year, but this one is where I
like to be. I top out at two at this point,
I I can't do more than that by I get

(01:39:36):
to you know what I mean, like you know, you know,
I get that. Anything more than that's crazy. By the way,
I think I have another story where I might need
the advice. This is my first time being commissioner in
a fantasy league. I might have been too nice. Again.
What happened? Well, remember the first first week we we
told the story about how I told one of my
opponents that, oh, b J was out right before the

(01:39:58):
game started. I'm seeing that across the the rest of
the league, someone like gave his opponent heads up on
A J. Brown being out. But as commissioner, all sudden
I saw on a waiver wire, I think after I
think it was this week, I'm trying to remember, but
a player had dropped um Josh Jacobs to pick up

(01:40:18):
Darius Slayton, and I'm like, Okay, that's weird. That's really weird. Um.
Problem is half the league is already put in waiver claims.
And I finally get to the guy, I'm like, hey, man,
I I really want to reverse this just because this
doesn't seem right. And he does confirm to me that
he was having a little too much one night and
he meant to on the sleeper app drop Sammy Watkins

(01:40:41):
from his roster and instead selected Josh Jacobs. I was
gonna say it was he was he high or drunk
or something he was I I will not disclose, but
you hit one of one of those answers, is correct.
I just missed that he dropped Josh Jacobs. Thankfully I
I reversed. Yeah, yeah, I I A it was a

(01:41:02):
human mistake. But also be like, that's that's not something
I want going on the waiver wire. But I had
I had someone else another Fantasy league saying you should
have made him, you know, own his mistake. And I'm like,
this is a twenty five dollar entry league. This isn't
Like if this was high money, maybe I could believe that,
but like big steaks not. Yeah, I'm with you. I

(01:41:23):
think you made the right move. Now I disagreed with
your first time, the first time where you you gave
the guy the heads up, like, yeah, that was just
me as a player, just being too nice responsibility. But
some dude who's drunk, who cuts the wrong guy. I

(01:41:45):
I can't. I can't good and especially I don't know
if you guys have played on sleeper. It's my first
time on sleeper. I usually use ESPN or Yahoo before this,
but it's it's easy. You you can hit, you can
click on the wrong guy, and if you don't notice it,
the it doesn't give you a chance to review your way,
your waiver or roster move right before. It's like are
you sure? And yes, no, yeah, yeah, no, dude, you

(01:42:10):
did it. You're a good man. You did the right things,
and I was conscious you got there. That's pretty good. Yeah.
I would do the same thing too, from from that
standpoint as far as a guy you because obvious, you
obviously realized no one was trying to cut a starting
running back. Nobody would never right in their right mind,
which he wasn't would do that. Yeah. I had some
I had some other players in the league being like,
but I already put in a waiver claim for him,

(01:42:31):
Like yeah, you and the rest of the league who
wouldn't waiver Claives or Josh Jacobs? I know. I stop,
and and it's like I think some people are like, well,
what if maybe it was an injury thing. You had
some injury news, And I'm like, guys, this is why
I put it to I R to I our slots
in our league to which makes it even more agreeedious
if there's I R slots that you have on your

(01:42:51):
because every league doesn't have it, but some of them do. Yeah,
we put those in because of COVID and I've had
to use two of mine already because Antonio Brown was
on the covid us. But yeah, like I find I are,
slots are fantastic for these leagues. It's huge. Yeah, happened
a well, I don't know. The geek is probably asleep
and we'll find out if he if or not. But

(01:43:14):
I do do be fair fick. I want you to
hear it's with some trending to take care of that.
And then I also, I mean I need to I
need your advice with something because I'm trying to not
do something stupid and you're asking me about it. Well,

(01:43:35):
you level headed, your level let it do. Thank you
you are. So it's been some trending. And then I
want you to keep me out of jail. Well, the
Dodgers are still alive in the National League West Race.
They notched in eight to six victory over the Brewers
on Friday, trade Turner to home runs, including a Grand

(01:43:55):
Slam for l A. The Giants did clinch at least
they tie for the National League Best crown after they
shut out San Diego three nothing. L A two games
back of the Giants with a couple of games remaining
on the schedule. In the American League, Seattle lost at
home to the Angels two to one, Toronto defeated Baltimore,
Boston over the Nationals, and the Yankees failed to Tampa
Bay so As it stands in the ALE, New York

(01:44:16):
a one game lead over the Red Sox for the
top wild card, while Boston has a one game advantage
over Seattle and Toronto for the final wild card. In
college football, fifth ranked Iowa force seven turnovers. They curbsed
on Maryland fifty one to fourteen, as they remain unbeaten
at five and OH number thirteen b y U also
five and OH. They beat Utah State thirty four to twenty.

(01:44:36):
Houston a forty five to tin win over Tulsa. Injury
news out of the NFL, the Giants will be without
receiver Sterling Shepard and Darius Layton as they faced the Saints.
Forty Niners Tidy and George Kittle questionable against the Seahawks
Buccaneers tidy and Rob Gronkowski is doubtful for Sunday night
against New England. Back to the Fellas, all right, fig,

(01:44:58):
we are the Fellows Fox Football Saturday. But I need
to invoke a little basketball for one second. So it's
taking all of my willpower not to fly to Los Angeles,
track down Ben Simmons's house and p in his pool. Um.

(01:45:23):
That's a lot of effort um to do something like that.
That's also trespassing. Ry. Now, I said to keep me
out of jail because I try to think it's something
that's somewhat benign, but that would make me feel good,
you know what I mean. You can like mail him
a stink bomb or something. I'm trying to figure out

(01:45:45):
what to do and how to quell my intense anger
towards Ben Simmons. I don't know if there is a
way to be honest with the anthony short of him
coming to camp, which doesn't look like it's gonna happen. Um,
and they've already started, I guess, for for lack of
a better term, garnishing him by not paying his money

(01:46:07):
and just taking the money they did owe him and
just using that to pay his fine. Or whatever it is. Um,
I don't know what the end game is gonna be
because the market for him, rightfully so, is not extremely
high and the asking price from Philadelphia is way too high.
So I really don't know where we go from here.
To be honest, Well, here I was with the six

(01:46:31):
Years earlier in a week. Here's my uh. If you're
talking to Darrel Moury, my uh. And I agree with
it because I asked some point blank, you're not gonna
trade Simmons for pennies on the dollar, and he would
absolutely not, And so how I would do it? And

(01:46:52):
I think I think the Sixers will will go This
route is you just let him rot, and you let
him rot until there's a disgruntled player that you that
interests you. You let him rot until a team starts
to go you don't want. I really like my team.
I you know, I think I can fix this kid,

(01:47:15):
you know what. I think that kid can make a
difference in my program. And whether that's November, December, January,
to trade deadline, whatever it is, I hold on to
him until that happens, as opposed to just trading him

(01:47:37):
for nothing to get rid of the headache to me
go sit and rot. You're freaking coward. Yeah, because there's
a sense of your rewarding these guys for bad behavior
to a degree. You know, when guys like James Harden,
you know, show up out of shape and or half
trying and want to get traded away and just don't

(01:47:58):
do it the right way, and you're you're bailing them
out by sending them where they want to go, as
opposed to I kind of respect the sixcess of what
they're doing. It's like, we'll just continue to find you. Yeah,
it's gonna affect our performance on the court a little bit,
but it's fine. I'm not gonna let you dictate to
how we run our franchise when we just gave you
all the money in the world. That's not how this
is supposed to work. And the other thing two is

(01:48:20):
it's my borrowing to me. I It's funny because I
was talking to Joel and beat and you know, I
love it. I love Joel and he's very honest, very candid,
and we were talking like, dude, what what what's his beef?
What's his beef? And you know, it's interesting because the
minute they're out in the finals and the minute they're

(01:48:46):
out in Game seven of the Conference semifinals. During the
pre draft camp in Chicago, that is happening. Morey is
there with Elton Brand and they're COM's Rich Paul and
Clutch and they go, we want out now. Why would
he one out that quickly after he's the one we

(01:49:11):
used the primary reason why they lost that series. I
feel like it's going why why is he running away?
It has to be more to it than just Doc
Rivers saying I don't know when asked whether or not
he's you can win a championship with him? Uh, it
has to be deeper than than that. Now, I know
these guys are really sensitive and they have to be

(01:49:31):
coddled all the time, and he's part of that new
generation unfortunately. Um but I mean then there was talk
the athletic had to write up about he didn't he's
He thought the combination with he and beat At run
its course, and then I thought Joel is responsive. That
was great. It's that we fixed our roster around you.
We brought in shooters because you can't so all the

(01:49:52):
concessions we made roster wise, the guys you brought in
word to play k you not me. We've made we've
done everything to for for your say, cannot mind, So
I don't understand why he is acting that way. And
I also thought that Joe put it great. It's like,
you know, you guys are showing up here. You know,
I'm playing. I'm secure financially, what everybody isn't. These guys
are fighting for their lives, and it's unfair to them

(01:50:14):
for me not to show up and do my job,
to do everything to help us try to win. I
thought Joel has handled this great spectacularly and was very
candid and honest, and I appreciate what he said. You know,
it's funny, you know he told me the other daddy
we're talking, he goes, listen, you know, we lost as
a team, and you know we all come back. We
try to get better individually, and we come back at it.

(01:50:36):
You don't run away. Joel didn't. He has. He's had
his struggles in the postseason. Remember he cried after the
series loss and we've was out of shape. Yeah, we
made jokes about him, you know, going in and out
and being out of shape and all that stuff. And
he heard it and listen to the criticism, and he's improved.
That's what you do. He looks great, he's in great shape. Good.
He was in m v P last year. I thought,

(01:50:58):
and I wouldn't have argued against it. We had had
we had the debate, and I would have if he
would have won the award, I would not have argued
against it. And I just thought, you know, like you,
he was a winner. And Simmons, I just don't understand it.
Fig I don't because he has mentioned well the latest

(01:51:19):
the latest issues was Joel. He mentioned the fans. He
mentioned Darryl Morey trying to trade him for hard and
oh sorry, that was a big slight. He mentioned Doc Rivers.
I mean, it's amazing that this kid has the stones,
the gall did not just show up to just run

(01:51:42):
away when it was his fault. He the oil painting
of that loss was Ben Simmons under the basket alone
for a dunk, passing the freaking ball. And you know
what's amazing. Was even more going is people who defend him,

(01:52:02):
you know, and I gotta hear from the wind horses
and get to bleep out of here with that nonsense.
What's just ridiculous. What is their defense? I don't know
what the most of the reaction to Ben Simmons that
I have heard has been negative. What what are the
people what is their arguments saying that Ben's he hasn't
had they didn't build correctly around him, and they they

(01:52:26):
didn't treat him well. God Delaney, they didn't treat him well. Yeah,
of ridiculousness and seventy million dollars I know, talking about
it's unbelievable figure when he hasn't, even, by the way,
put the work in to improve on his biggest flaw,
even in the least bit. I mean, that was, if anything,
that was a good faith contract that they gave him. Yes,

(01:52:48):
the one like, you're young, we see your potential. You
got to your cornerstone of the franchise. What more do
you want a franchise to give you? I agree, I
just don't understand it. I don't. I've never seen a
bigger coward in my life. He doesn't want to be uncomfortable. Well,
get ready for a life, kid, That's that's life for you. Ready,
welcome to the real world. You know. Guess why, I

(01:53:10):
guess when you guys, he's probably banked, you know, you know,
he's probably got thirty million in the bag. I guess
it doesn't matter maybe that's what it is. His endorsements
and all that, and that's fine if you want to
make your money right up into the sunset. Well, he's
always he was always I want to be a celebrity,
would out put it into work. I mean, there's all
about the cult of celebrity. Yeah, there's always rumors about

(01:53:30):
him wanting to come to l A and he was
dating one of the Kardashians and and all of that
or generous whatever, same difference. The kid. The kid was
a colossal disappointment. I mean a colossal disappointment, which is
said because you see, you just look at his raw
talent and what he's able to do on the court.
He's an amazing player, right, all you gotta do is

(01:53:53):
figure out it with how to attack the rim and
not worried about going to the free for a line
and you like, you know not because he was fraid
to go to the line. Yeah, and that's why he
didn't go for the layup. Absolutely exactly fraid to go
to the line. So you know, that's what he is,
that's his legacy. That's an embarrassment. If you're if you're
an ath world class athlete, where where is your where

(01:54:15):
is your gumption, right, it's it's amazing. But i'll tell you,
fig what a disaster. And the league cannot allow Simmons
to get away with it because that's a really bad precedent.
Oh yeah, I mean, Harden already did it and you
and you kind of got away with it. But now
if he let Simmons leave from a team that was

(01:54:38):
the top seed in the East and only lost because
of him, and he and he just signed his major extension.
Hardon at least was, you know, coming up on the
tail end of his contract with the Simmons his his
a new extension just kicks in this year. Yeah, it's unreal.
I've never heard of it, never heard of it. That's
that's a brand new standard of guys. It is gonna

(01:55:00):
be traded out when they I mean, I don't know.
The NBA has to find some way, whether it's in
negotiations with the c b A, to find a way
around this happening. Because if Ben Simmons of getting his way,
what's to stop the next superstar from doing this, signing
the big extension and then to three days later saying
I want out, and now the franchise is hamstrung I'm
feel I feel you, I feel you. All right, let's

(01:55:22):
do this. Thanks for let me purge that we're gonna
come back. And uh we got some football on the
Doctor to get to. Of course, at the top of
the hour, the voice of the Raiders and author and
of course co host of the Felons for fifteen years,

(01:55:43):
the Great l K. Lincoln Kennedy will join us. Cannot
wait for that. And the big Brain on brad for
Picks is coming up a little bit later after that
in the nine o'clock hour. So lots to do. Where
the fellas right here on Fox Spot its radio. All right,
welcome back Fellas, Fox Football Saturday. We'll forget. We're brought

(01:56:35):
want to get through a couple of NFL things. Um
my man, Uh, let me ask you figus, yes, all right. Uh.
As I take a gander right at the NFC. I

(01:56:55):
think there's a don't you know how I feel about Caroline.
I think Caroline's defense is legitimate, and I think Caroline
is a playoff team. I thought so too before McCaffrey
got hurt. Now I'm not so sure. But there they're
definitely a solid competitive team at the very least, I'll
give you that. I do like Hubbard. Yeah, it's just

(01:57:16):
McCaffrey has does so much for them. He pretty much
their offense and changes everything. It makes reads easier for
Donald all that. Uh, Saints two and one, are they
a playoff team? I say no. I said no coming
into the season, and their defense has surprised the hell
out of me, to be honest, I thought that was
gonna be the weak link for them, especially on the

(01:57:37):
back end, and they've been spectacular on that side of
the ball so far. So do you take any points
away because now, listen, they played ball the more and
they limited I mean, they played the Packers and they
dominate that game, right, Panthers will kind of rolled off them,
and then they beat New England. So I like, I'm

(01:58:00):
still not sold. You know, yeah, I'm not necessarily fully sold,
but I if I was a Saints fan, I would
be encouraged or as a as a skeptic coming into
the season. Um, I would be encouraged by how they've played.
They have surprised me. Even with you know, facing New
England with their offensive limitations in Green Bay, not being

(01:58:21):
prepared or whatever excuse they wanted to use for Week one,
the Saints have still looked pretty good. Haven't have impressed
me the first couple of weeks of the season. Do
the Packers are the now? Obviously they're the class of
the North, But are the Packers a legitimate Super Bowl contender?
It doesn't look like it, to be honest, you know,

(01:58:45):
just look, they look at the same team they have
been the last couple of years. Aaron Rodgers does this,
thaing devont Appens. A spectacular defense will make up play
here or there, but it still doesn't seem like a
championship level defense. And now is a Darius Smith, arguably
their best defensive player out for a while. That's that's
not gonna help matters for them. Yeah, I agree, I'm
with you when I look out West, and we discussed

(01:59:08):
the Rams earlier the show, I think the Rams clearly
are the best team in the NFC now number two
in that division. It's a great, great division, best division
in football easily, right, Like you know, it's just a
beast of a division. The Seahawks are one and two,
Arizona's four and oh forts two and one. I still

(01:59:31):
think Seat All is the second best team in that division.
Um yeah, I always thought it would be a toss
up between them in San Francisco. I think San Francisco,
even despite now looking great in a couple of games,
are still two and one. Um. Not not to mention
that game against the Eagles where they had a basically

(01:59:52):
just two drives is what ended up winning that game
for them to ninety plus yard drives. Arizona is all
I've always had to wait and see, sort of a
pro coach, because they got off to such a great
start last year and Kyler Murray just hit the tank
after week nine or week ten of last year. So
he's gotten off to another great start, which is good,
and he looks spectacular, but Candy maintain it throughout an

(02:00:13):
entire season, So that that's kind of what I'm waiting
for for Arizona. I do think they're they're a good team,
and I think they've improved a little bit, especially defensively.
But I'm not worried to it. To annoint them quite yet,
I have to. I have to actually see Kyler Murray
hold up for the entire season and be consistent. Seattle, yeah,
I have. I have confidence that they'll be able to
turn things around. Um, although those last couple of losses

(02:00:33):
are not very encouraging, especially against Minnesota, because I don't
think Minnesota's defense is that great. You need to score
more than seven. Minnesota offensively is excellent, and Kirk Cousins
has been spectacular, um, and I think he will be
all season long. I think all offense they're great, But
you got to score more than seventeen points against Minnesota.
If you're Seattle, yeah, I I would agree. They kind

(02:00:58):
of get banged up. Lock it was a little banged up.
I'm curious against San France. This is a great game,
because this is a game's gonna tell you a little
something about those two teams. I like Seattle in the game.
I don't know what you like. I kind of like
San Francisco to be on both Now. San San Francisco
has had a lot of injury issues to their offensive backfield,

(02:01:18):
their defensive backfield. Uh so, yeah, both teams have half
their share of issues. Yeah, I mean Barett has been
out for sexually four years. Unfortunately, you can't catch a break. Um,
But I like San Francisco in this game where the
Seattle to be honest with you, all right, it's gonna
be easy. It's almost it's a really really big of
a must win for Seattle because that division, Man, it's

(02:01:41):
nasty and you can't. You can't because the division games
are so tough. You you really can't afford to lose,
especially one and two. You're one in three. Now of
a sudden, you start to get in a little trol
one three with a division loss that that's hard to
come back from and you're probably probably insurmountable. And I know,

(02:02:02):
even with the seventeen games this area, you know, it's
amazing how that both divisions. The West is amazing. NFC,
we saw it. AFC maybe not so much, but holding up. Yeah,
it's been a big way big nine o'clock our LK

All right, welcome, Matt Fell was hanging out with you
with Figging psycho Chris Nicky Boy, would it treat? Oh my,

(02:02:46):
would it treat? Let's see this resume. I'd you like
to have this resume? Hall of fame college player should
be Hall of Fame, NFL multiple Pro Bowls, an incredible career,

(02:03:06):
an incredible talk show host, an incredible broadcaster, an ambassador
for water Nation, now even an author, not to mention
businessman Cigar Mogul angry Crab Mogul and uh, he was

(02:03:29):
my co host for fifteen years on this program. And
of course my brother, my brother from another mother, the
Great LK. Lincoln Kennedy, big lie. Hey, what's that? Oh?
Just love hearing that voice. Man, I got it. I

(02:03:52):
got smile on ear to ear. I know think he's too.
It's been a long time line. Got to hear your voice. Man. Hey, guys.
It's good to have you guys, and thank you guys
for having me to say, how you guys been, how's
everybody been doing? Everybody's all right? You know we were
Christ and I we're fighting earlier. It's not that really
has changed what we except we miss you immensely now.

(02:04:16):
Well it probably seems that you need a little bit
of mental balance and that sort of confusion that you
guys called studio sometimes. But it's all good, like in
that little has change, you know. Anthony while popping and say,
so we gotta go down every single NFL team this weekend,
and to we got going, and I was like, oh,
every team, Yeah, we gotta we gotta do the link
impressions every team. I chat on my inner link, I

(02:04:37):
say every team. Huh, all right, every team everything. Yeah,
you are you are a referenced weekly. You are still
very much a part of the show, even though you
don't even know it. Even you're probably sleep well. Here
here's the thing I can't help but early Friday or

(02:04:59):
early s Day morning for me waking up around the
time where I'm supposed to be leaving from the studio
and haven't remind myself, no, I'm not doing that anymore.
Go back to sleep. So well, just catch the audience up.
How's the how are the family? How's the family? Has
my niece and nephews. Everyone is doing well. The kids
are thriving. Tavans now in the tenth grade. He's playing

(02:05:22):
Ginger varsity football, and Kaylee's in the ninth grade. She's
playing right now, she's playing woman's basketball. Um uh. And
then Ties in the seventh grade, and he did not
make the basketball team, but he's looking forward to going
out with flag football in their quarter systems. So the
kids are doing well. Um, the businesses are doing well.
I really can't complain that I had some personal reasons

(02:05:44):
I had to attain to, so one of the reasons
why I left the show. And things have gotten progressively
better for me there as well. Um, So I'm just
trying to, you know, realize and continue to realize the
dream so I can live it. I love it. I
love it. You sound wonderful. I'll tell you what you are.
Also found time to pen a new book. Yeah, how

(02:06:07):
about that? If these walls could talk, it was a
sort of labor of love, Anthony. You know what it's
like because you've already published and you're you know, writer,
very good writer by that standard. But um yeah, it
was my time in in in the Raiders locker room
and being on the Raiders, and then of course things
that I've watched the sideline, and just my growth and
affiliation being with that organization for almost a quarter of

(02:06:30):
a century of my life. So I finally put it down,
those thoughts down on paper, and it's you know, I
had some pretty good reviews. A lot of people spoke,
so Mooning be pretty good. It's awesome. It's an incredible
book and every football fan should buy it, and in fact,
your raider fan, it better be a long your coffee table. Well,

(02:06:53):
I'm glad you enjoyed my friend and I really appreciate it,
and so I thank you guys for your support. And then,
of course, like I said a moment ago, thank you
for having me here like real quick. Where where can
people buy it? You can buy it on Triumph books
dot com, where you can buy it on Amazon Books.
So wherever you get books, if these walls can talk
by Lincoln Kennedy and Paul Glulzieri's well, make sure you

(02:07:16):
go out and you buy that book. It's a great
gift for Christmas. You got the holidays coming up, so
make sure you go buy the book. And again it's
it's prerequisite for any football fan required reading in that case,
So tell me how's Vegas treating you? How? How how's
that new stadium with people now this year? Well, I'll

(02:07:38):
tell you what Allegian stadium has been great for the
two outings, at the three outings, including the preseason. I
mean when you go back to the preseason and playing Seattle,
I've never seen a preseason game get that much attention
as far as the stadium goes, but it was damn
there's capacity. Monday night, the first one against the Ravens
was truly a star study performance. Not saying something cheek honestly,

(02:08:00):
you know. We had Gladys Knight perform the national anthem.
We had too Short ice Cube do the high a
halftime show, and then there were stars all around like
Little John and and players from the Aces, players from
the Nights I mean, George Lopez, I mean just stars
all around. So it was really who's who as far
as entertainment, which is right in line with you know what,
the the tradition of Las Vegas. Uh And it's been great.

(02:08:24):
The fact that the team is hot and started off
hot is really fun to report on. Brent and I
still call the games, and you know, we'll be in
Los Angeles on Monday night for the important game against
the Chargers. Uh And, and what can I say? You
really have to get out there and see and I'm
hoping that you guys are still gonna make your road
trip at some point, you know, you know you make
your road trip. Let's do a road trip from Vegas.
You know, I know a few people, so I should

(02:08:46):
be able to get you in a few spots, if
you know what I mean. That's awesome. Hey, I mean
the team looks great. Derek Carr looks fantastic. What do
you think? I mean, how real are the Raiders? They're
very real. They've they've got some flaws like any other team,
but they're very real. And the reason why they're they're

(02:09:07):
more real than anything, there's a presence. They have a defense,
a defense that can get stops. Now I'm not talking
about the lights out defense or you know, tuble shutdown defense,
but I am talking about the defense that can get
stops and can turn the field by you know, not
necessarily generating a lot of turnovers, but maybe turn the
fields with transitions, special teams. So they are playing pretty well, um,
and then of course beating three a FC opponents that

(02:09:30):
had ten wins last year, something that that was never
done before. So they're they're standing on their sales and that,
but they've got a serious test. You know to come
this Monday night. Um, they've got the Chargers. The Chargers
are getting hot. And you know, with that defense that
they have now that Gus Bradley as well, they've been
able to change the defense. They can be really confusing
with some of the coverages that they play, which in

(02:09:52):
time has hampered Derek Carr when you've had a creative
defensive coordinator like that. Um. But you know the thing
is that hopefully the Raids continue to for dress in
the run game, create more balance in their offense, and
try to win the kind of possession in this game. Yeah,
you know, it's interesting because that that is a great
game to west is It's so good. We were talking
about it earlier. What a great division. I mean, you

(02:10:15):
know what, what's your what's your early outlook after three games?
Kind of your approach in the division and in the
entire ANC what's your kind of look. Well, well, you're
an Eagles fan, and you remember the eighties and the
nineties when it was regarded that the NFC East was
probably the most competitive division of football. The fact that
teams would always beat up in the ear division would

(02:10:37):
always beat up on one another, no matter how good
it was. And it was hard to really separate from
from what until later in the season when the playoffs came,
and then just by you know, natural order selection, it
would be separated. I think that. I think the a
f C West is like that. I think a matter
of fact, the entire West region of football, the NFC West,
is in a very similar boat where because the teams

(02:10:57):
that are involved in those divisions are so competed to
do they're just want to beat up on each other
and you'll be lucky, in my opinion, if you're able
to split with those divisional games. That's just how important
it is. So you know, for the Raider's standpoint, that's
one of the reasons why it was good that they
they stood out against three a f C opponents, not
necessarily anybody in your division, but you know, they've got

(02:11:17):
an important challenge and in division. But you know, winning
those games against the Ravens, the Steelers, and the Dolphins
helping tie baking, tide breaking scenarios as they come down
the line. Hey, big Link, I want to check in
and talk about the Raiders. You mentioned they have some flaws,
like every team does. What are those flaws that you're seeing,
Is it the offensive line. I know they had to
reshuffle a lot of guys. They shuffled out three starters

(02:11:39):
and brought three new guys in. Andrea James has had
some issues with some high snaps early in the season.
Is it the old line or or is it somewhere
else on the team that they have some flaws that
they need to clean up if they want to keep
keep wanting to be successful here. Yes, it is. It's
all that. It's the fact that you know you've got
you coming into the season. They expected rich incog Needle

(02:12:00):
to play and I didn't necessarily wasn't I wasn't necessarily
the bandwagon, but you know, it was what it was.
Then you lose the Denzel Good for the season. Now
that takes to you know, experienced guards who can help
protect your inexperienced center who mine used to play tackle
in college is still new playing center um and he
can take a little bit of pressure on It's in

(02:12:21):
the interim. I will say this, John Simpson has gotten better,
a lot better than he was last year. And this
is where they expected him when they had drafted him
out of Clipton Clemson to develop the way he has.
Andre James is still a work in progress, not only
the low snaps but some of his overall just mental calls.
Would understanding the defenses and how to you know, make

(02:12:42):
get the most standard sky and stuff like that, a
little bit of old line the lingo, if you know
what I mean. And then right guard is now Jamaana Leminore,
Who's who stepped in? Who's doing a better job? And
the thing one of the flaws that stands out other
than the offensive line sort of inconsistency or incohesiveness, is
the fact you've got a rookie right to it was
a little banged up and Alex Eiderwood. Um, but he's

(02:13:03):
playing as as hard as he can. So I took
my hats over because he's out there, he's doing a thing. Uh.
And then you also have the fact that you have
an inconsistent run game or lock their up. Now the
run game, I'm not as concerned with, you know, fagging,
because it will come. But the problem is because the
Raiders have been so banged up, they can't practice, you know,
practice to rundoor and practice or practice to run game,

(02:13:25):
like the drills like not on seven or eleven eleven
and stuff like that, and practice because they've been so
banged up. So what they have to do now is
they have to wait to game day to try it.
And then you know, hey, you know those those guys
aren't just going to stand around and let you plash
from around, so they're going to scheme you. So now
you're having to adjust the run game on the fly
in a game situation, which is easier said than done.

(02:13:46):
Bigger link with us are the great Okay, Lincoln Kennedy,
H man, it's so great to hear his voice, like,
I got a pot pourri of questions for you. Of
course I wouldn't have it any other way. I mean, man,
all right, so we're gonna run the gaming. We'll start
off with Sunday Night Brady versus Belichick. Who does Lincoln

(02:14:10):
Kennedy root for? Oh my gosh, dude, I have any
interest in this game? Do I have a dog in
this I don't think so. You can or a chicken pox? Yeah,
exactly right. You root for a type forwards fever, and
I I don't want to put and play that, you know,
especially in Louin the pandemic. But no, it's one of

(02:14:32):
those things where we know that Belichick, you know, has
made life heart for opposing quarterbacks because he's such a
great schemer. However, how does he scheme against the great
Brady who's seen everything and then done everything. It might
be without Bronc. I think Bronck is going to be out,
which is a big part of his force and so,
but you know, the Tempa Bay Buccaneers have other weapons,

(02:14:53):
and to me, it's gonna be another situation like we've
talked about many times of the camp in New England Patriots,
where you know, it's not want to be campus offense
that's gonna do things well for him, It's going to
be campus defense. And so I really think that the
Buccaneers are probably gonna find a way to win this game.
Uh are the Rams the best team in football? Look

(02:15:19):
when they made the trade for Matthew Stafford, I went
to the sports book in Vegas and for the thousand
dollars down and I think it was thirty one thirty
one nods so that it would be in the NFC Championship.
So I'm counting my dollars. So yeah, I think they are. Well,
that's awesome, all right. Let me ask you this, will

(02:15:39):
there be a pat twelve team in the playoffs this year. Wow,
that's a big one. Um with the numbers being so
overwhelming in the SEC and Oregon has flaws. I did
a couple of games with them, or did a game
with them without Thibodeaux. I thought they were really hampering.

(02:16:00):
They've got I mean, they they've got the potential, but
their quarterback has got to play better, um, more consistent
in the past the game. That's a long road. I
think somebody in the Pact Swell was gonna nick them,
and I don't think they're going to finish the season unblemished.
It's gonna be hard to get a factwell team in
the playoffs. We'll all miss play Alabama tough today, Yes

(02:16:23):
they will. Let us still lose my two touchdowns. Yeah.
Well Cincinnati, Well, Cincinnati and Ritter make the playoffs. I
think Cincinnati is one of those things that's likely to be.
It's a big test for Notre Dame. If they beat
Notre Dame, they are going to get a little bit
more attention and pushing towards that. Yes, I would say,
yes they will. Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, are they all done?

(02:16:51):
Define done? Do you think they're saying they're not gonna
make the playoffs. Yeah, I'm asking you. Huh, Oklahoma probably
has the best chance to me, out of the three
that you talked about. So they said that not all done.
I think one of them is going to get in.
Who wins the World Series? Dodgers? Yeah? Who was the

(02:17:17):
American League? Uh? Yankees? The Yankees tie up the first
wild card? They got it? I think, yeah, they haven't
quite yet, but they most likely will. Um, Pampa bay O.
Best thing you've done since you left the show? Uh,

(02:17:43):
the best thing I've done since I left myself. I
guess it's focused on me. I got me right. Yeah,
I think you're gonna talk about the trip you made.
Oh well, I mean, you know, look, I've been doing
my diving trips. But you know, we opened up the restaurant,
and I guess it's doing well. The kids are doing well.
But you know, I don't think we, as men especially,

(02:18:08):
tend to focus enough on mental and physical health. I
think we just think that we could tough it out.
And you know, I came so close to realizing how
the false that is, um that you know, it almost
took a you know, a profound effect upon me. So
I was glad that I was able to wake up
and do better, um treat myself both physically and mentally,

(02:18:31):
and putting myself in a better position to enjoy the
times I have less with my kids beautiful like we
love you, We love you, love you, love you, my brother.
I don't forget. That's right, That's right. And tonight you
know I'm up in corp Villence right now, guys. We've
got Oregon State versus Washington tonight a cor Villence or
the Facts Networks or Rocky Berken and I'll have a

(02:18:53):
pretty big call and with my dogs, have got to
bring them, bring some betterment outa These leavers are not
to play with. So I got big game tonight. I
love it, my brother. We miss you, buddy. You're the greatest.
Miss you. Two guys, stay all right, smack my guy.
They had a couple of times. All right, you gotta
you guys, get your butts out of Vegas. We've got

(02:19:15):
a nice restaurant called the Angry Crab waiting on you.
And more important that we're gonna have some good football covers.
We will. He has the great LK. Lincoln Kennedy. What
we're missing, O G fella man, the original fella he
and I for years and years, and uh, I love him,

(02:19:36):
still talk to him regularly, and and he's a dear
dear friends. I'm glad he's doing better, you know. Yeah, yeah,
he's doing great. And he's doing great. Alright, we're gonna
come back figure. I love you, buddy, stuff man, be
safe this week or I appreciate it you too. We'll
talk to you next weekend. All right, coming up Brad Feinberg,
the Big Brain on on Brad to give us all

(02:19:58):
his picks for the week, and you don't want to
miss it. The fellas right here on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, welcome back. It was great to hear from Link.
Always a pleasure. Now we're gonna have the Big Brain
on Brad, and we're gonna go through all of your
college plays today and all of your NFL picks and props. First,

(02:20:25):
let's do this. Let's go to the Lord of trendings,
and let's find out what's happening with I. Hello, what's
happening is the big reunion. It was so great to
hear you and Lincoln together again. You know something, Anthony,

(02:20:46):
Not to get too profound or philosophical here, but I
finally realized the secret of your happy and successful radio
marriage that you had with Lincoln. You know what that was?
What's that, buddy, You only talk to each other once
a week. Actually, that wasn't true. We would talk. We

(02:21:09):
still do. We probably talk almost every other day. Really great. Yeah,
that's very cool. Yeah. By the way, I think the
secret was kids. Every once in a while, there's people
that you meet in life that you connect with and
you had no idea and just go we must have
been closed in the past life probably. Huh. That opens

(02:21:32):
up such a whole lot of philosophical possibilities. I mean,
what it must have been a sports related duo in
a past life. Now I guess now we're getting cosmic
with this baby. And by the way, but it's funny.
I walked in the side right like Linke came over.
Linke was with the when Raiders were in Philly for

(02:21:53):
Christmas Eve until Link came over. Let's pick Christmas Eve
with us Christmas Day and so with my with my
wife and my kids and my dad and and like
he like he had the greatest time. It was like
he brought his uncle and it was so much fun.
Like we just had a great time. And he kind
of knew like he like my father, felt like, you know,

(02:22:13):
close to him, like it was that kind of thing.
So sometimes in life, you know, cherish the people that
around you. You know, it means a lot. Oh so true.
And speaking of the exact opposite, I took care of
that for you you wanted. Yeah, so I'm in southern California,
so I actually drove by and took took care of
that for you. I mean, he's got chlorine in his pool.

(02:22:35):
I mean, what's the big deal? You know? Ah, you're
the best I know, always cantling you for a good
p job. Do it? Uh? Speaking of important things, the
race for the Major League Baseball postseason, Let's start in
the National League West, where the Giants Friday night clinched
at least a share of the National League West title

(02:22:55):
with the three to nothing went over the Arizona Dating
Backs to the Giants magic number down to one, they
leave the Dodgers by two games with two games to play,
but the Dodgers stayed alive. They rallied for an eight
to six victory over the Milwaukee Brewers thanks to Trade Turner,
who had two home runs, including a grand slam, but
Clayton Kershaw left this game in the second inning with
what he termed either a forearm or elbow injury, saying afterwards, quote,

(02:23:18):
chances are it's not looking great for October right now unquote.
In the American League wild card race, the Yankees hold
the top spot. The Red Sox hold the second wild card,
one game behind the Yankees. The Mariners and Blue Jays
are one game behind the Red Sox for the second
ale wild card spot. Got all that because there will

(02:23:40):
be a quiz later. In college football on Friday night,
Number five Iowa four seven turnovers in at four teen
victory at Maryland. Number thirteen b y you winning at
Utah State thirty four to twenty. And finally, Anthony, it's
time for our jam Master Jam of the week. We
take you earlier this week to the Yankees playing in Toronto.

(02:24:01):
Anthony Rizzo, Homer's the next man up to the plate
is Aaron Judge, and our hero has to remind himself
to get all his various gimmicks in bye talking to himself,
listen and basking it. Judge hits one to deep center.
That ball is high hit us far. It is God,

(02:24:23):
Aharon Judge, as it is second home run of the game.
It is a judge in blast and the Yankees have
taken a three to lead. All rise, here comes the judge,
so to home runs and by the way, John, please
Rizzo and judge they go back to back and a

(02:24:45):
belly to belly and the Yankees now take a three
chew lead. You know, sus and I have so many
gimmicks sometimes I forget to get them all in. Oh
my god, you know what I love. He's the worst
and the best at the same time. Yes, yeah, you
know what I love is the little very subtle chuckle there. How,
he very subtly chuckles to himself as he goes from

(02:25:10):
gimmick to gimmick. As you said, the best and the
worst at the same time. Back to you, all right,
thank you, my brother. And speaking of the best, we
got the best and other kids mit cosmic relationship. The
Big Brain on Brad Brad Feinberg, the betting analysts who
was one of the great people you ever want to
meet and a an incredible handicapper, and he does it.

(02:25:32):
There's no gimmicks, no nothing. You can follow him on
Twitter at Brad's Best Bets, listen to his podcast and
all the pics are free. He just loves it because
he's a sports guy and a great guy. Bradley, good morning.
I gotta tell you, Anthony, I can listen to hot
sterling for the next ten hours. Those are those piece
as you get. I guess he does it every single

(02:25:53):
time he announces games. It's yes, it is, yes, it
is Uh. Let's get to it. A big day of
Charllege football. Man fired up. Let's go big one. Georgia Arkansas.
It's a battle the unbeatens. I think George's best team

(02:26:14):
in the country. I'm curious the big numberrier looking around
seventeen A lot of places where do you like you listen?
We're on the same page with this one. I do
think that Georgia is the best team in the country
and their defense has been absolutely just terrific. Look Arkansas, Uh,
I know they're right ranking of the top ten. I

(02:26:34):
think that's a little bit too optimistic in my opinion.
You know, last week, they played, in my opinion, in
extremely extremely overrated UM Texas and m team. Yes they
crushed them, or they beat them by double digits, but
they were an underdog in that game. Okay to a
team that really is in my opinion, not that good. Uh,

(02:26:56):
Georgia and me, Anthony, as you said, I do think
they're the best team in college but ball, I absolutely
think they're just they're so good on the defensive side
of the ball. And I just, you know, Arkansas in
this kind of game, I just really question where they're
gonna have the chops offensively. Think Ainding done again. They
beat tex A a m but I'm really not sure
how good they are. Rice is whatever, Georgia Southern's whatever.

(02:27:19):
They did beat Texas, who was a decent team for sure. Uh.
And I give Arkansas credit for being an improved team,
but I think they're stepping up in class here a
tremendous amount. Anthony, and I would not be surprised that
they do not score more than ten points here. I
like George, I think they win this one by three
touchdowns plus Wisconsin Michigan Michigan unbeaten. They don't throw it. Uh,

(02:27:42):
They're gonna remain on beaten. You know, if they look,
I'll say this, uh look as a Michigan ground. I've been,
you know, happy with their success, but I gotta tell
you sometimes I think hardball is is just living in
the Stone Age. And that he just all he does
is rung every single play, and when you step up
in caliber, um, it becomes a lot harder to just

(02:28:04):
run the ball every single play and expect success. There's
a lot of sharp money that I respect Anthony that
is on the Wisconsin side. Um. Look, I did not
bet this game, but I think Michigan is going to
win this game. I know they're a slight dog. For me,
it's more so not that I'm that impressed with Michigan,
but Wisconsin, to me, Anthony is just they've just been
that brutal on offense. Graham merged to me, has been

(02:28:26):
one of the most disappointing players in all college football.
I just have not been impressed with this wisconsintine even
a little bit. Michigan at least, you know, granted they
haven't had the best schedule. You know, they beat Washington,
that's their bell cow win. Um. They struggled last week
badly against Rutgers. But I think Michigan actually does win
this one. I thought Michigan deserved to be a slight favorite.

(02:28:48):
On said there's a slight underdog. I think Michigan pulls
out a close, one, very low scoring game. But as
I said, there's a lot of respect of money that
I respect that's going the opposite way of me on
this one. Cincinnati Notre Dame another great matchup. I'm bullish
on Cincinnati. What do you think? Yeah, Anthy, I know
me and you've discussed before. Also, Cincinnati is, first of all,

(02:29:08):
a good long shot. You can get them in the
eighty one area to win the national championship. I'm not
saying I think they're gonna win the national Championship. I
clearly don't, but I will say that if they win
this game, Anthony, I will plan out say I expect
them to make the college football playoffs and I think, look,
this is an interesting game. Um. Notre Dame to me
has been another team that I just have not been

(02:29:30):
impressed with. That was probably the most misleading final score
I've ever seen last week they won by four touchdowns
against Wisconsin. They were losing in the fourth quarter. Just
a lot of flute plays at all went in their favor. Um.
You know, after an emotional game like that, this is
obviously Cincinnati's biggest game of the year. This is a
game they've had circles. I think Cincinnati wins this game

(02:29:50):
in a close one, Anthony, um Cincinnati to me that
their defense has kind of been not been, in my opinion,
that great, and they kind of got some breaks against Indiana.
Uh there was fumbled by Panic I'm sorry, by Desmond Ritter,
which got overturned because of a late hit which would
changed the flow of that game. I do expect since
them on this one. I like the over here though,
more than anything else, Anthony. I think both teams are

(02:30:12):
gonna score at least in the mid twenties. I think
both teams are gonna probably even get over thirty. I
like over fifty points here, and I do think the
Santy finds a way to part of close game, all right.
The Crown Jewel of Saturday takes place in Tuscan loose
Old miss Lane, Kiffin, the Thorn and Nick Sabans side
that high powered offense Matt Corral against the Obama defense.

(02:30:38):
What are you thinking, man? What are you saying? Listen?
You know, Anthony, I look, the only way I'm looking
here is Mississippi. I know Mississippi is going to score
their points, and obviously Albamas have to score their points too.
I mean we we know that, right, I mean Bryce
Shong has been absolutely spectacular, complaining over stevery two percent
of his passes. He's been terrific. But I know, listen,

(02:30:58):
what's the one thing that did did Coach Saban hasn't
be able to do when he plays some of these
kind of offenses, Anthony, Like you know, like Mississippi, these
dynamic offenses. He's given up points as great of a
defense as they've had in the past, and last year
they scored a ton of points in this exact same matchup. Um,
I think this city keeps this one closed. I think

(02:31:19):
the city is a had them ranked fifth in my
power ratings. I think they're good. I think they're legit.
I think this game is gonna be close. I think
Albama definitely does win it, but I think this game
is closer to a ten point game. And as long
as this line is over fourteen and a half. What
I also love about this game, Anthony, the backdoor is
always going to be open. There's gonna be a three
touchdown game with three minutes to go, and I flat

(02:31:40):
out will be confident I'm gonna win because every time
Missy as the ball, I think there's a better chance
than not they score a touchdown. I like Mississippi here.
While I think they lose the game, Anthony, I think
they cover the fourteen and a half. All right, one
more I got in insecuriousy what you got L s U. Alburn.
I think it's a really good game. I like L.
S U. Curious where you're at here? Yeah, Anthony, the

(02:32:03):
only way I'm looking here is L SH You, Auburn
and me is a team. Look. Bonets to me has
been just crazy overrated. Um finally got benched for t J.
Finley and last game and Finley made a really nice
playing and last player that game to win that game
for them. Uh, look to me, L s H. Look.
I think also is just a better team here. That
they had a decent win last week against Mississippi State. Uh,

(02:32:25):
and I think they find a way to win this one.
I think that there's a big quarterback advantage. In my beginning,
Max Johnson's just the more better quarterback. I think they
are a better team than Auburn, I really do. I
think Auburn continues to be overrated in the market. I'm
on the shoe side here. I think they win this
one by Lisa touchdown. Are any games that you spy
my brother. There are a few of my friend Listen Anthony,

(02:32:49):
I think Oklahoma State uh is Bailers getting while no
Baylors crazy improved. I think they're getting a little bit
too much respect here against an Oklahoma State team to
me that you know, just had a really nice win
on the road against Boise State. I happen to like
Spencer Standers. I think they're well coached with coach Gundhi.
And look, I made that line, I gotta be honest,
and I thought that lunch had been at least seven

(02:33:11):
and then it was three and a half. I was
really surprised the line was as low as it was.
I don't think Baylor is as good as a team
as Oklahma State, and Baylor's win last week against the
Iowa State give them credit, but it was a lot
of fugazi in there. They got out to anybody over
two d total yards. They had to kick off re
turn for a touchdown. You gotta look within the game,
within the game. Sometimes I think they're getting way too
much respect here. I think Oklahoma State win just from

(02:33:33):
my double digits. Give you a couple others, um I
think going back to UH West Virginia versus Texas Tech
Texas Texas team. I bet they're over in season wins, Anthony,
but they had not looked good to me. They're missing
their starting quarterback. On top of it, West Virginia were
not a great team. I certainly think they're a respectable team.
They played Oklahoma tooth and nail last week. We're winning

(02:33:53):
in the fourth quarter. Um, and I think that West
Virginia I got lane sixth manth I thought that line
should be double digits. UM. I think at home they
win this one pretty easily against what I consider to
be a very average at best Texas Tech team that
lost by thirty five points last week to Texas. And
we talked about Oklahoma a second ago. Look, Anthony, and

(02:34:13):
I maybe uh maybe missing the boat on this one,
but I is as bad as they've been, and I
know they've been got awful. Um. This is just too
much for me. A fade against Kansas State. I think
Oklahoma does beat Kansas State by two touchdowns, plus the
line is eleven and a half. I just think Kansas
State without their starting quarterback, Skyler Thompson stinks. Hate to
be that that harsh, but you know, watching will Howard

(02:34:37):
last week he was just awful. And to me, Oklahoma,
this is a spot where maybe and I know they're
not going to be great, but I think maybe this
is a spot their offense can maybe get a little
bit on tracked. I expect them to win this one
by at least two touchdowns. All Right, we're talking to
Brad Feinberg, the big brain on Brad are vetting analysts,
Brad big boys. Obviously everybody's gonna want to, Oh, Brady Belichick,

(02:35:02):
I mean, how do you how do you look at
this game? How you look anywhere else? To Brady? Yeah, Anthony, Look,
that's that's that's the way I am. I am on
that side. It didn't wager on the game itself because
my power rings made this line six and the lines seven,
so I couldn't do it. But I'm certainly not going
to step in front of the Tom Brady trade train

(02:35:23):
and fade him in this spot. Um, I will say
this with prop. I really did like in this game,
Anthony was Damien Harris total yards under fifty nine and
a half. We know he gets no catches receiving the ball.
He only gets about the half a catch per game,
and no one can run on Tampa Bay. I'll be
very surprised if Damien Harris does anything of note. And
I like Hunter Henry to go over twenty eight and

(02:35:43):
a half yards. He's going over that, Anthony twenty seven
of his last thirty three games, and a spot where
this team again they're gonna have to pass the ball.
I think he's arguably the most talented receiver her Jaklobe Myers.
I think uh putter Henry goes over forty yards, let
alone twenty eight and a half. But I do think
the Tampa Bay wins his am Anthony. Uh. And we're
talking about Brady getting his final revenge over Belichick. All right,

(02:36:04):
a couple of great games in the NFC West, the
Niners and Seattle. Seattle a three point dog? Which way
you kind of leaning here? And then I'm definitely meaning
to see how the way you know, we we see
a lot of injuries in the secondary uh to San Francisco,
And you know, Davante Adams got open seemingly every play
last week, Rogers had his way on. I just haven't

(02:36:27):
been I know they're two in one, but haven't I
thought Philadelphia really should have beaten San Francisco the week before.
UM Detroit really almost came back to beat him in
Week one. Haven't been unimpressed. Not that Seattle has been
any great shakes, but I just kind of think this
game is more of a fifty fifty kind of game.
You want to give me three points, I'm gonna take it.
I trust for Russell Wilson a lot more than Jimmy
g and I also like Seattle and Teasers the line

(02:36:49):
if you get it, you can't get three. If the
line goes down to two and a half. I like
Seattle and Teasers getting eight and a half. Alright, Rams
Arizona and now I like the Rams a lot. I'm
bullish on the Rams. I think everybody is so no
surprise how you lean in this game. I think it's
four in most bumps. The line is for it's trunny
and this is a game. Again, I am a little

(02:37:10):
perplexed at the line. I still haven't pulled the trigger,
but I thought again, my power ratings made this one six.
Not sure why this line is four. If you think
about it, usually you get now like two two and
a half points for home field. They're basically saying that
on a neutral field, the Rams or maybe a point
point and half better. I think they're definitely more than that,
better than than the than the Cardinals are. The only

(02:37:30):
quick thing holding me back a little bit is two things.
My respect for Carla Murray's immeasurable, and just off that
big win last week against Tampa Bay, will they still
come with the same juice um only side I'm looking
at though, is that side. And I will say this
for a couple of props. DeAndre Hopkins under seventy five
and ask On under eight and twelve going against John Ramsey,

(02:37:51):
who has really had great success and really like that
under and Robert Woods over two and a half rushing
yards Anthony. He's gotten twenty four carries in the last
sixteen games. He's going over this almost every game because
he gets one and they have carries for a game.
I know it's an obscure prop, but it's up there
at the major sports books. It's a great bat, buddy.
You just gotta you gotta trust me on that. And

(02:38:11):
then Kyler murraything going under in his rushing yards Anthony,
and he's had this worst success of his career by far.
He's only averaging around seven rushing yards a game against
the Rams, while the other teams he's had a lot
more success against. I guess Aaron Donald and company make
it harder for him. So I have a lean towards uh.
Mary under thirty five min rushing yards, I quickly got
a couple of minutes. I'm just um, I like I

(02:38:33):
know that. I think we both liked the Giants against
the Saints, and I mean the Chiefs. I don't know
how the Chiefs don't win by thirty. Well, talking about
first thing listening, I agree with you on on the Giants.
I think that they're very live to to actually beat
um uh New Orleans there, and I think it's to

(02:38:55):
me a low scoring game. I've been under twenty one
and a half in the first half was a really
wrong bed as well. Um, what's interesting about New Orleans,
Anthony Jameis Winston. This is in today's NFL almost impossible
three eight seven yardy storm ds of game. I don't
know how that's possible they're playing, Yeah, but we got

(02:39:16):
thirty I like the Giants. I like the Giants. I
agree with you, and I like Kansas City. Agree with
you and both. That's awesome, Brad, great stuff as always, buddy,
have a great weekend, make it profitable. Love the ampy,
Good luck everyone out there. There he is Brad five
big brain on. Brad given us some some good picks.
We'll come back. Wrap up the program here on a

(02:39:39):
Fox Football Saturday. All right, welcome mag fellas wrapping it
up as a Fox Football Saturday we today. Don't forget
the fellas well. We're brought to you by Discover. That's

(02:40:00):
the discovered matches. All the cash back you earn with
your credit card the end of your first year. It's
amazing because discovers accepted at places in the United States
that take credit cards. Learn more at discover dot com.
Slash yes, report limitations apply. I so I got one
last issue. I just want to run by the guys.

(02:40:23):
And that's the Brady issue, because a lot of people
think that Brady is going to get booed at Foxboro tomorrow,
and I now that would be the most absurd thing ever, right,
No homecomings. Homecomings can be can be interesting, especially where
a town like Boston is concerned. But I don't think
it's going to be as much scuttle but as there's

(02:40:47):
been with Guerrero and with Tom Brady, like you know,
kind of throwing stuff out there to try to control
the narrative. I don't see anyway that's really gonna be
boost I mean, I'll give it like a five percent
chance just for posterity. But I think he'll be treated
warm and he'll be treated with respect. It's Tom Brady,
and you know he's incredibly loved to New England exactly.

(02:41:08):
I don't, like I did understand there's a fact one
of our guys, and well, I think he's going to
get I think he's gonna get booed. And I'm thinking booed.
How could that possibly be? I mean, I can see
the logic, but I just think that I can see
the logic and that it's it's it's Boston. It's a
hard sports town. But I don't think it's I mean,

(02:41:30):
for all he's done, for all the rings they've got
there there, Boston's gonna want to celebrate this return. It's
not going to be nobody really left under I mean,
there was some friction between him and Belichick at the end,
but not to the point where it feels like the
fan base turned against him as he was leaving right right,

(02:41:51):
like it wasn't it wasn't Like I've seen some bad
breakups with cities and players before, this wasn't one of them. Listen,
I respect Boston while I'm from a city that's equally tough, right,
that's equally into it in Philadelphia. In fact, we're kind
of like cousins cities in a lot of ways. You know,
I didn't know how they would react to Philly. They

(02:42:12):
would they would love him, and they would welcome him
home with you know, a raucous celebrations. Ahi is with
the shady McCoy Sunday. Yeah, yeah, much lesser extent, but
you know, yeah, I'm a shady man. He was terrific.
He was terrific. But I like, I'm with you, man,

(02:42:34):
I think you know your Brady and and you gave
him all that and that incredible career, and it wasn't
even his fault that he left. I mean, you know,
he basically I do believe Belichick. It was best for
both of them divorce, and that's what it is. But
if your Boston, Boston is a great sports city and
they're great fans, I think they're sportsman and ultimately the

(02:42:59):
great you know, people in that city will cheer Brady
and they will relish and appreciate them anyway. That'll do
it for us. Have a great week and everybody enjoying
all the football. We love you, We'll see you next Saturday.
