Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
All it takes is one little tweet, one little tweet
from an NFL insider to get everybody all hot and
bothered about the state of college football and the University
of Texas. Welcome into Fox Sports Radio. Jason Fence is
out today. Bridget Condon is kind enough to fill in

(00:25):
for him. Ian is also out today, so Lee to
Lap has stepped in to make sure that we stay
on course. Mary Mack and me you are here to
hold it down for you.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Mary.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Everybody else decided to just flake on the show today,
but we're grateful that we have good teammates to step
in in the meantime.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Bridget, how we living on a Saturday?

Speaker 5 (00:51):
How are you doing?

Speaker 6 (00:51):
It has been like two years since I've heard your
voice in my ears. I mean, obviously I listened to
your show all the time, but I mean like this
close and personal.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Sorry, it's a lot more when you got to deal
with it directly.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
I get that feedback a lot.

Speaker 6 (01:05):
I'm just wondering how I can get the accent you
have because it's so subtly Southern that I just it.
It's like you should be a star of a movie
or something with like a.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
Hey, how we all doing out here?

Speaker 6 (01:16):
You're like rolling up to a gas station with I
don't know cigarette in your hand.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, well, plenty of that last night before I hit
the road to Indianapolis today to cover the mighty Tennessee
Titans at one and six against the Indianapolis CULTU.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, that's gonna be.

Speaker 6 (01:32):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
You know, I'm used to bad football at this point.
I've soldiered through a couple of these seasons. The franchise
that I cover is a hot mess on a regular basis,
So you know, you try to you try to make
good out of the just unending bad. Yeah, it's it's
the life of a beat reporter. It's it's gonna be okay.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
I mean Cam has to be making it fun though,
especially with some of his responses.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, he's He's an interesting cat, for sure, but I
would love it if he was better actual football. It's
fun to have the you know, the little moments of levity,
whether it's the we asked quote after a twenty six
to nothing shut out against the Houston Texans, or whether
he's grilling us on what it is to call a

(02:16):
play as an NFL quarterback like he was Wednesday at
the podium, which was oddly received as polarizing, at least
based on some of the Internet.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
Twitter is just the most miserable places. I'm sure you know.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
I've started getting off of it. Threads is where it's at.
It's a little bit more positive for me.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Is your at on Threads the same as you're ad
on Twitter?

Speaker 6 (02:36):
It's actually the same as Instagram, because you know, Threads
and Instagram are one and the same, They're tied together.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
So what is that handle for people to.

Speaker 5 (02:45):
Fall along with all your I didn't even know who
you were going there?

Speaker 6 (02:48):
Yeah, always plug in. It's just at Bridget Condon. Actually
I think it's at Bridget conton TV. Gosh, I don't
even know how can I even plug myself when I
don't even know can confirm?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
Bridget Condon TV is where you can follow along with
the great Bridget Condon. At Fox Sports Radio is where
you can follow along with all of the great programming weekdays,
weekends and otherwise. At Buck Rising if you're just feeling
froggy and you want some one and six Titans coverage,
I'm here for you.

Speaker 6 (03:17):
I don't know that anyone could have anticipated us starting
the show, especially like I'm sitting here in la and
everything that happened in the past twenty four hours. But
here we are spending the first five minutes of this
show talking Titans.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
I'm happy to move on if you are, because there's
much more interesting things happening in the world of sports,
not the least of which was the way that Diana Russini,
NFL insider for The Athletic, got everybody's morning started. Bridget
There was a she does a newsletter for The Athletic.
Diana is an excellent reporter and very thorough in all
the details that she includes in her newsletter, her weekly

(03:51):
newsletter around the league, and I was peeling through it
this morning and there's just one little subtle line about
Texas coach Steve sar Kejan that reads, I'm told that
representatives for Texas coach Steve Sarkishan have let NFL decision
makers know that he would be interested in potential head
coaching openings COMMA, including the Titans. Now, this was something

(04:16):
that started a lot of fuss. It doesn't help that
Texas is currently trailing by ten just before the first
half ends at Mississippi State twenty four to fourteen right
now for the number twenty two team in the country,
trying to go on the road, trying to stack wins
in the sec I'm incapable of doing so, and arch

(04:37):
manning with a hail Mary attempt that falls incomplete with
eight seconds left on the clock.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
If you're watching along with us live.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Sark is an interesting figure in terms of coaching conversations.
But what compounds this is bridget I'm sure you saw
the statement on behalf of Jimmy Sexton Power Agent and
caa creative art artists agency that reps so many of
these people. What do you make of the initial information

(05:06):
that was put out there by Diana and Jimmy Sexton
publicly refuting that information with a very quick to be
put out statement.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Well, look, Diana Russini, well respected reporter, always has great scoop.
She's not putting this out And for people listening who
maybe don't know the process of putting information like this
out when you're sourced, she didn't just hear this from
one person and is putting out an entire newsletter that
goes out to hundreds, thousands, maybe of reporters and fans.

(05:37):
She has multiple sources telling her this, right, Like, this
isn't something that she's just created in her basement and
wrote a fantasy article about. She's getting this information from someone.
So where there is smoke, there is fire. Jimmy, on
the other hand, an incredible agent. Look, he has kind
of like a.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Pattern of doing this.

Speaker 6 (05:57):
You know, we remember Alabama Nick Saban, all of that drama.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
He is a great agent.

Speaker 6 (06:02):
By saying no, like, you know, coach Sark is focused
solely on Texas and finishing this season the right way.

Speaker 5 (06:09):
What a great, great statement.

Speaker 6 (06:11):
You have agents, right, you pay your agent ten to
twenty percent to do things like this.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
It would be in it.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
It would be so incorrect for him to come out
and say, like, yeah, you know, Sark really wants to
go to the NFL while he is in the middle
of a season and trying to get his team to
the college football playoff. There is no reason that he
needs to go out and talk about the NFL right now.
His focus should be on Texas, what's happening behind the scenes.

(06:39):
I totally believe what Diana is is putting out there
to a degree, wouldn't you.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
I don't know what you think. If it's just smoke
or what.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh no, absolutely, I know Diana very well for a
long time. I texted or just to make sure that
I had full context about this before we came on
the air.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
And obviously we can't share all of the information that we're.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Talking about, but there is a give and take in
the information exchange business. Bridget, I'm sure I don't have
to tell you, But for the audience and how these
things get created, it's just the optics of it right now,
given Texas's struggles, given all of the hype around them.
I mean, for anybody who's paid attention to any shred
of college football discourse this year, you know that Texas

(07:22):
was one of the most hyped programs coming into the season,
the number one team in the country coming into the season.
That Arch Manning, just because of the name on his back,
respectfully to the player that he may at some point
in his collegiate career, become a lot of discourse, a
lot of excitement around another quarterback name Manning playing at
a premier college football institution. But things have gone poorly.

(07:45):
They have not lived up to that by any stretch
of the imagination. And for the coaching carousel being as
crazy as it is. Atton Bridget, I know you don't
follow this or the college football.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Cycle quite as closely.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
I'm sure you've seen all the high profile firings to date,
whether it be Florida or Penn State or any of
these other programs that have already moved on from their coaches.
It's crazy because in the SEC, not a single coach
was fired last year.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
That's only happened a handful of times, which of.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Course means that half the league, half the jobs are
going to be up for grabs at this point in time.
And so when you hear the name Steve Sarkejian and
any mention of the NFL whatsoever, not just the team
that I cover in Tennessee, but any of those jobs
that might be available, and we do expect a few
more to become available, whether that's in season like the Titans,
or at the end of the season. At that point,

(08:38):
it's a tough look for Sarcus. His team again on
the road against Mississippi State, who's not a bad SEC program,
but trailing by ten at this point in time, it's
just going to create a bit of a Median nightmare
for him.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
Absolutely, But this is why they pay them so much
money right to be able to go into a press
conference room and get grilled with questions like this after
a tough loss.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
But going back to the reason.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
Why this was put out and again like Diana getting
this information and believing strongly in it, I don't think
it's a bad thing. Like I would love to see
Steve Starkushan in the NFL, and I think he's smart
to put his name in those conversations because you know,
and I know, like this is the time. We're what
week eight now in the NFL. This is a time
where teams start putting their coaches on the hot seat,

(09:24):
and we potentially are going to see some coaches fired
in the next eight games here.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
And if you are still.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
In the college world and people don't know that like
you're ready to make that jump to the NFL or
like come into professional league, maybe he gets passed over
because I know that, like a lot of these coaches
in the NFL, you're not going to get hired until January,
but you need to like start that process way earlier
than that. So, like, I think it's a smart thing,
regardless of what kind of questions he gets thrown after

(09:52):
this game, Like for him long term.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Throw your name in those conversations.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
For sure, nobody better at it than John Gruden. Still
at this point in his career, is getting mentioned in
coaching searches and things like that. It's good for business.
It's good for the individual business of the coach. Certainly,
it's good for the business of the agent. What's good

(10:39):
hanging out here with you. A lot of interesting games
across the world of college football. But Bridget, this is
my favorite time of year, in the middle of football season.
And you know, it's unfortunate that the team that I
cover is to damn bad, because I would love to
be talking about meaningful football. But the part of this
where teams start to define themselves, where they start to

(10:59):
separate themselves, where the inconsistencies of the start of the
seasons kind of fade away or get pared down a
little bit because teams establish an identity start to play
up to that standard or fall short of it. In
the NFL and college football, as we start to get
closer to playoff pictures being formed in both sports, this
is my absolute favorite time of year, right before we

(11:21):
get to the month of November.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
I mean looking around having college football, NFL World Series, NBA, NHL.
This has to be as a sports fan, the best
time of year because no matter what day it is,
no matter what time it is, there's something to watch,
right Like remember those dog days of summers. I did
some of these radio shows this summer and we were like,
what are we going to talk about today? Like the

(11:44):
NBA playoffs already finished, NHL's done, college football hasn't really started,
and then NFL training camp the weeks before NFL training camp,
where we're talking about the same stories like is Aaron
Rodgers gonna make a run for the Super Bowl?

Speaker 5 (11:59):
In is this the year in Pittsburgh?

Speaker 6 (12:01):
Is you know the same stories that we've been talking
about for six months now.

Speaker 5 (12:05):
It's like we have too many stories to talk about.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Nothing wrong with, too much of a good thing.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
I can relate to that doing three hours of local
sports talk of day, just talking about really two teams
at any given point, so that is absolutely relatable. We
will you mentioned you're in Los Angeles. We will talk
at some point about the Dodgers and the Blue JAYSUS
statement game by Toronto in Game one of the World Series.
What is the temperature in Los Angeles today after an

(12:32):
eleven to four defeat at the hands of the Blue Jays.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
Who are I mean, certainly you can't.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
I don't think there's gonna be the lovable underdog vibes
around them because you can't. You can't, even if you
are somebody who hates the Dodgers, as many many baseball
fans in America do, you cannot root for a baseball
team from another country. I feel like it's a very
tough place for baseball fans who do not have a
vested interest in the series to kind of exist.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
I have so many thoughts on this, and I'll save
it for when we do the deep dive. But what
a weird time because you look at the Dodgers, who
just won the World Series last year, right, it doesn't
feel like that because of the brutal loss that they
took last night.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
This team, if they win the World Series, this team's
a dynasty.

Speaker 6 (13:20):
I mean they might already be one, right like, depending
on who you talk to and what you want to argue.
But they just lost and now it feels like they're
the worst team in baseball. That is the vibe walking
around LA. People don't even want to talk about last night.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Let's just get let's.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
Go first pitch like, roll that right now because people
just want to focus on moving forward after what happened.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
Nine runs in the sixth inning. Crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
I'm sure if you're a Ravens fan, you want to
just move on and move forward at this point in time,
because they have again ruled Lamar Jackson out and they
might be in a little bit of hot water for
the way that they handled an injury situation around the
former MVP. We'll get into that coming up next. It's
Fox Sports Saturday. She's Bridget Condon. I'm Buck Rising on

Speaker 2 (14:51):
If you'd have told me that the Baltimore Ravens we're
sitting at the bottom of their division with less wins
than the Las Vegas Raiders and the Cleveland Browns as
we head into week eight, I would have called you
a liar. Welcome back to Fox Sports Radio. Here on
this Fox Sports Saturday, Bridget Condon filling in for Jason Fitz,

(15:14):
I'm buck rising. Lamar Jackson has been ruled out again, Bridget.
This has gotten to be such a gut punch to
Ravens fans. I know because my ep on the local
show is a diehard Ravens fan and he has been
excited about Lamar Jackson's progress back from injury all week long,
and then today the Baltimore Ravens put out a statement

(15:37):
before they get ready to take on the Chicago Bears
that Lamar Jackson would in fact miss his third straight
game and more than a month of regular season time
after going down on September the twenty eighth against Kansas City.
He's been ruled out for this game as of this morning,
the Ravens had to put out a statement on the subject.

(16:00):
This is from the Baltimore Ravens at Ravens's where you
can follow along on the socials. Lamar Jackson was present
for and participated fully in our entire Friday practice ahead
of Sunday's game against the Bears. Upon further evaluation today
and after conferring with the league office, because Lamar didn't
take starter reps in practice, we have updated our report

(16:21):
to reflect his practice participation. Apparently Bridget he was running
the scout team and the Ravens listed him as full
some injury report crafting of lies, and now the Ravens
are getting investigated by the NFL.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
Well, it's like Aaron Glenn this week. Did you see
that he didn't want to put out who their starter
was going to be because he didn't want to give
the Bengals any kind of like advantage.

Speaker 5 (16:44):
So this is just weird.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
John Harbas said that they expected Lamar Jackson to be
back after theirbye. They had their bye last week. There
are so many things that we could get into here.
I was at the Ravens training camp Saturday, back together Saturday,
me and Baldy watching practice and you know, watching Derrick

(17:07):
Henry watching Lamar Jackson, and we both were talking like
this is their year. I mean, after Mark Andrews drops
that pass last year in the playoffs, I knew this
was their year. You don't make a mistake like that
and come back and flop, right. You make a mistake
like that and that drives you. That is the story,
that is the script. Ravens bounce back after brutal lost

(17:29):
the year before, and they win the Super Bowl. Lamar
Jackson finally gets the su to the Super Bowl, finally
wins a trophy.

Speaker 5 (17:37):
I am just very.

Speaker 6 (17:39):
Confused when you look at the Carolina Panthers. I don't
know why you didn't include that when you said the
Browns and the Raiders with more wins the Carolina Panthers have. Okay,
so fair like the Panthers.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Like it's crazy since that damn Panthers podcast called it
quits that because the team was so bad and they
were tired of covering them.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
The team is then bego.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Blake, I keep thinking about that podcast.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
I'm so glad that you brought it up, because do
they come back?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
They have to.

Speaker 5 (18:10):
I don't know, we're gonna.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Know if you're the fan base said no, you shut
it down, boys, this is your retirement moment.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
They have not lost a game since.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
You stop talking. Okay, the Ravens are one in five. Look,
I know we haven't worked together much, Buck, but I
want to let you know that I'm a big numbers girl,
right like I love little stats.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
So they're one in five.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Okay, that's their worst six game start in franchise history,
tied for it. Only one team since the merger happened
has made the playoffs after a one and six start. Okay,
they're not making the playoffs. I mean, I know if
if there's any division that they could somehow still slide in.
The AFC North is very weird this season, right, like
the very weird. But I still think the Ravens are

(18:54):
not making like they just have to shut it down.
And I think maybe they are looking at this like, Okay,
why are we going to rush Lamar Jackson back out
there against the Bears team that maybe they feel they
could win without him, Or why are we going to
rush him back out there when we're already one in five,
We're not going to make the playoffs. We could use
some help in the draft. Let's not risk it, Let's

(19:15):
start thinking about next year.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
It's an interesting concept, right because the trade deadline is
coming up November fourth, if I'm not mistaken, is the
NFL trade deadline, and that is going to be a
popular topic of conversation. And the state that I live
in and the NFL team that I cover, the Tennessee Titans,
a lot of teams looking around at current roster assets
and saying, is it really worth it to try and
gut it out the rest of the year. Should we

(19:40):
start to sell off guys on expiring contracts that other
teams pushing for contention might get after. But to your
point about the Ravens, and we started off the show
with Steve Starkesian and the hype around Texas and how
far short they have fallen from expectations. The Ravens I
think were the most popular Super Bowl pick this year.

(20:00):
I know, really, I'd pick them to win the Super Bowl,
and I'd be for all of the reasons that you
just laid out. But now at this point in time
where you're talking about the things that are wrong with
them and they're starting to get some of their injured
players back, there was a period of time where they
had like one hundred and sixty million dollars worth of
salary cap sitting on there inactive report on a regular

(20:23):
basis because of how down bad they were at the
very start of the year. The thing, though, that Baltimore
almost every season bridge that has been able to lean
on is their defense, and this Ravens defense is atrocious
by any stretch of the imagination. Like it's it's almost
unthinkable to see those jerseys, see the amount of mistackles

(20:45):
that they give up, see the kind of discombobulation going
on where there's miscommunications, there's miss assignments. It's leading to
explosive plays all over the place. All of a sudden,
The Texans who have a horrendous offense or run up
the score on you in Baltimore in a game that
was as lopsided as any home loss has ever been

(21:06):
for that franchise. They're setting records in all the wrong
ways this year, so I absolutely agree with you that
they have to think about starting to move in that direction,
starting the fire sale. But the curious question is where
exactly do they start. This roster has a couple of
contracts that would be acquirable if you were another team

(21:30):
looking for a replacement level starting talent or at least
some kind of depth. But I don't know when you
start to get to the players who are actually available
and would be available to be traded on the Ravens roster,
that many teams would be interested in picking up some
of what they've got.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
It's interesting, right, and I think the person who's laughing
is Mike McDonald in Seattle, right, like, how about them?
And you know, since he's left, this defense hasn't really
looked the same. But I think if you look at Okay,
who could they potentially trade? I think Mark Andrews' names
has to be one of the ones top of conversation.

(22:09):
It's tough because you know he what he's done, and
obviously it's still a sore subject the drop that essentially
maybe that could have been, I don't know, could have
been the thing that completely.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
Changed this team.

Speaker 6 (22:23):
But I my question to you then is who would
be interested in Mark Andrews at you know, how old
is he?

Speaker 4 (22:31):
Now?

Speaker 5 (22:32):
I feel like he's old, but he's probably still young.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Thirty years Yeah, I don't think he's as old as
he's seen.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
Yeah, I feel but he's thirty, he's younger. Okay.

Speaker 4 (22:43):
It's always humbling, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
I'm like, wait, no, you're you're old man.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Yeah, you spent enough time covering the NFL once you
start the age out of the athlete age, like it
was like DeAndre Hopkins on the Titans a couple of
years ago, bridget I was stunned to find out that
the hop is not ten years older than me and
that we're actually the same. Am, Like, I've been watching
you my entire life. How are you only thirty two
years old? Well, anyway we can.

Speaker 6 (23:05):
I'm I'm just thinking here, like who are the teams?
Because here's the thing you got to think about, who
are the teams that are Super Bowl contenders?

Speaker 5 (23:12):
Right?

Speaker 6 (23:12):
Like at the trade deadline, who would trade for somebody
to help them win. Now and those teams, Eagles, Chiefs,
I want to put Rams in that conversation.

Speaker 5 (23:22):
I just watched them in London and man did they
look good.

Speaker 6 (23:25):
I think they I think Mark Andrews would fit well
with what the Rams are doing. And you know that
they would probably go after I mean, they're not always
they're not shy to add at the deadline.

Speaker 5 (23:35):
That could be a situation. I could see that.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Famously.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
I bleep those picks, bleep them picks franchise, so they
could absolutely go into acquisition mode. We can circle back
around to that topic to talk about the trade deadline
within the context of contenders. But first, Martin, get us
updated on everything else that's going on in the world
of sports.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Right now.

Speaker 8 (23:57):
My personal favorite Texas right trailing at Starkville. The cow
bells are banging twenty four to fourteen in Starkville right now,
twenty second ranked Texas on the road with just under
nine minutes left in the third quarter. Keep you updated
on that went Now, it's the games that have a
little bit more national recognition.

Speaker 4 (24:15):
Right here, for fourth, drianth to.

Speaker 8 (24:16):
Alabama trailing South Carolina fifteen to fourteen. Alabama scoreless in
the second half so far. Nearing the start of the
fourth quarter, seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, Missouri
and Vanderbilt in a defensive matchup ten ten to score
there in that top fifteen matchup in SEC play BYU
was trailing from a lot of this game, but turned

(24:36):
it on in the second half. Forty one to twenty seven,
the eleventh thrank Cougars in the lead over Iowa State.
Cougar is still undefeated. Just under fourteen minutes left in
the fourth Washington opening it up on Illinois forty two
to twenty five, the Illinois twenty third ranked team in
the nation just under eight minutes left in the fourth
quarter there. Earlier today in college football, we had Indiana

(24:58):
and Georgia Tech. Both were Maine undefeated and games that
would pretty much blowouts. Indiana second rank Georgia Tech seventh old.
Miss the eighth ring team in the nation, gives Oklahoma
it's second loss of the year, thirty four to twenty
six sixteenth three for Junior survived North Carolina. North Carolina
just a yard away on a two point conversion of
attempt in overtime, would have won the game. Instead, tackled short,

(25:21):
the running back was on the screen pass seventeen to sixteen.
The final score of Kansas State beats Kansas It's forty
two to seventeen in the Sunflower Showdown, seventeenth straight Wildcat win.
You guys are just talking about Lamar Jackson not playing
against the Bears. He says that same hamstring missing his
third straight game, fourth straight week that had a bye.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
Tyrod Taylor ruled out.

Speaker 8 (25:42):
Justin Fields will start a quarterback for the Jets against
the Bengals. Trayvon Diggs on ir for the Cowboys will
miss the next four games, and the Falcons expecting to
start Kirk Cousins as quarterback. Michael Pennis offered a bone
bruise and his left knee back to.

Speaker 4 (25:56):
You guys, She's Bridge of Condon.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
I'm Buck Rising, hanging out here with you on a
Fox Sports Saturday. Going to get into the World Series
here in just a little bit. But bridget pose the
question about buyers and sellers at the trade deadline. We're
coming off a conversation about the Baltimore Ravens. If you're
just now joining us, By the way, you can always

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Oh but they do.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
No?

Speaker 6 (26:41):
Okay, fine, Well just let everybody know all my stuff
is muted. If you try to contact me how much
you hate my voice, I won't see it, So just
save it.

Speaker 5 (26:50):
Just save it.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
What a blessed relief that must be to just have
all your notifications muted.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
I feel like my watch things every thirty seconds.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
Oh my god, no, I couldn't. No, I like, I
don't even have my phone on ever. Off of Do
Not to Serve. My husband will be like, why won't
you pick up, Like please, at least just take me
off of Do Not to Serve.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
I'm like, like.

Speaker 5 (27:10):
Absolutely not. And here's the thing.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
Once you do it, Buck, It's just there's a great
world outside. You know, you just like live. You just
live and you don't have to worry about what anyone
else is thinking. You're just living. It's like dancing on flowers,
like in a cartoon right like the second you mute your.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Notification, your your voice went full comment mode.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
There. I know because I have to.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I have to listen to comment like sleep stories and
stuff like that, because I'm reading too much Twitter on
a regular I.

Speaker 6 (27:42):
Should try to do a sleep story like and tonight
you mute your notifications, You're dreaming about your takes. Not
a single person out there telling you you were wrong.
You're just the most brilliant person. You go right to
sleep and you're gonna wake up and nobody's going to be.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Mad at you. Should I like try to get a
job there.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
Yes, I think I feel like we're onto something. We
will of course take royalties on that, since we discovered
this on air together, but you know, a conversation for
another day.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
I am so opinions.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
This is, of course the time of year where information
is flying fast and furiously. We brought up Mark Andrews
as an acquireable asset for the Ravens if they should
lose to the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 4 (28:25):
By the way, if the Bears are.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
To beat the Ravens, bridget, that's five straight wins for
the Chicago football franchise, a sentence I never thought I
would utter into a microphone as long as my lungs
were still taking in air.

Speaker 6 (28:40):
I mean, Ben Johnson, maybe not a great interviewer, but
a great coach.

Speaker 5 (28:46):
I don't know if you got.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
That, but oh no, I sure did. I saw a
dity on the sidelines in Arizona a couple.

Speaker 5 (28:52):
Of weeks shout out to a d because man.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
He's a stud for that.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
She sure is.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
I'm certain we've all and well at least those of
us who cover coaches for a living. I'm sure we've
all been in a similar situation. That was a very
public situation, and she handled it quite well. But for
for the conversation about trade deadline and again November fourth,
the NFL trade deadline. So there's a couple of different
names that you're going to hear. What's the most interesting

(29:19):
name you've heard mentioned around trade rumors? Because obviously you're
reporting on the league, you're covering on the covering the
league on a regular basis for NFL Network. Is there
one name that you've heard that immediately caught your attention?

Speaker 4 (29:31):
It's like, hmm, that's interesting.

Speaker 6 (29:35):
No, and you're gonna put me on the spot, and
I'm like, I just feel like everything that I hear,
I hear so much because I'm in the newsroom that
nothing is weird to me. I'm just like, oh, yeah,
that could uh, that could that could potentially happen? What like,
I feel like I want to ask you about the Titans.

(29:55):
That's where my mind was going. Can they get rid
of anybody?

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Oh, that's such a great question, because the most acquirable
asset on the football team would be Jeffrey Simmons. And
if that's not a household name to the rest of America.
He prior to getting a hamstring injury in the first
half of their loss to the New England Patriots last week,
the Mi Rabel revenge game, which was about as much
intrigue as the Tennessee Titans have had this year, or

(30:21):
their former coach coming back to beat their asset Nissan Stadium,
jeff Simmons got a hamstring injury. He's been playing like
the best defensive tackle in football for the first seven
weeks of the season. It's a real shame to see
that happen. He's not on injured reserve. He's not going
to play in this upcoming game up here in Indianapolis
where I'm broadcasting today, because I will be covering that
game tomorrow. So if it's not Jeff Simmons, who everybody

(30:43):
in the league would want, and I know Minnesota called
about specifically last year, Titans have basically said no to
Jeff Simmons, no to cam Ward. Everybody else is on offer.
There's going to be a couple of names that are
floated out there. I think that they would love a
situation where they could get out from under Calvin Ridley.

(31:03):
I think if Lagerius Snead was not already on IR,
because he just went on the injured reserve on Thursday
sustaining another quad injury, and that is just an tire
web of nightmare for Titans fans to see. The way
that they acquired him from the Kansas City Chiefs as
a two time Super Bowl champion. He played in seven

(31:23):
games this year. He played in five games last year.
He has spent the remainder of that time on the
injury report. So Calvin Ridley's going to be the name,
but again, he's also dealing with a hamstring injury. It
feels like a lot of soft tissue, a lot of
hamstring injuries to at least name brand players this year.

Speaker 6 (31:38):
Yeah, I mean, that's why the conversation about turf first
grass continues to get discussed. I know the owners had
their NFL fall meetings in New York City and that
was a topic of conversation and it'll continue to be
one as we deal with so many of these injuries.
But you know, I think, going back to you asking
me like crazy names, I think the reason why we
haven't heard anything out of the ordinary is because we

(32:00):
had that huge Micah Parson trade earlier in the year,
Like that was insane. But then you look at some
of these names that are circulating, Like I know a
lot of people say Trey Hendrickson the edge for the Bengals.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
That one isn't interesting.

Speaker 6 (32:11):
Like when you ask me crazy, I'm thinking, like, uh,
I don't know. Like at cam War, it's something that
absolutely won't happen, a quarterback trade.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
None of those are happening. But Trey Hendrickson is.

Speaker 6 (32:22):
Kind of crazy because all the drama from this summer,
right and like him holding out and them not getting
a you know, deal done early so that he could
be at training camp. The Bengals constantly saying that they're
not gonna trade him.

Speaker 5 (32:35):
I feel like, though.

Speaker 6 (32:36):
There's like the Bengals are a big question mark to
me too, with what's going on in some of the
decisions that they make, and they're.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
We're surgent with Joe Flacco. Come on, he's eating by
himself at restaurants.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
He's throwing a jam.

Speaker 6 (32:49):
Time Joe Flacco, Like, we should study how he has
just hung on to a job for so long and
many people would never have been able to do that.

Speaker 5 (33:01):
And I don't think it's necessarily his talent.

Speaker 6 (33:03):
I think there's something to it, like how he has
just been able to find him his way in these situations.
But anyways, I don't think the Bengals would do something
like that. That would be crazy to me. If Trey
Hendrickson is a name we hear in the next week
or so and then I don't know, I don't see
them doing it. But nothing would surprise me, I guess,
is what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
It's a bad question to ask a reporter who spends
so much time.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
In a new No, it's a good question because he
made me think.

Speaker 6 (33:31):
I just like, didn't you know, brain wasn't fast enough
to come up with a good answer, because nothing seems
crazy like I don't know.

Speaker 5 (33:37):
If Russell Wilson gets traded, is that crazy? But like,
who wants Russell Wilson?

Speaker 2 (33:41):
It would be that's more comedic really, with all due
respect to Russ, he's too busy throwing barbs at his
former coach.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
Oh God, on media, the drama, the.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
TMZ, that's what you're missing out on on Twitter, dumb
bleep like that.

Speaker 5 (33:56):
In order to threads. Everybody, it's more fun over there.
Are you honest?

Speaker 4 (34:00):
I am? I am?

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I'm trying to balance, like how many more places I
want to post on social media? And I just for
my own peace of mind, I, honest to god, thought
about going through my entire game day routine tomorrow on
threads instead of Twitter. I was actually contemplating that on
the drive up here.

Speaker 6 (34:16):
Well, can I be your reason as to why you
should do it? And now I'm giving you the push
to do it.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Well, listen, if you end up on the commat because
of our conversation and I end up on thrids because
of you, I think fair trade.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
Yes, Oh, you're falling into a deep sleep where your
tweet is the only one on your timeline.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
You don't have to look.

Speaker 6 (34:37):
At political ads. You don't have to worry about your
favorite player getting traded on the trade deadline. The only
thing you're listening to is your tweet going viral for
all the right reasons. Positivity, inspiration with KLM.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
I mean, seriously, con that was sick off the cuff.

Speaker 4 (35:01):
The Blue Jays put the Dodgers to sleep last night.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
We'll talk about Game one of the World Series on
Fox Sports Saturday coming up next.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio day and night.

Speaker 5 (35:17):
You should see the dance party buck Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
I'm jealous. I'm not in a dance party in LA.
I'm hanging out in Indianapolis, Indiana. But I'm in a
better spot than the Los Angeles Dodgers are today. That's
for damn sure. She's bridge at Condon. We got Mary
Mack holding it down back there as well. I'm Buck
rising on this Fox Sports Saturday.

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Eleven to four.

Speaker 2 (35:42):
Not a lot of dancing going on in Los Angeles
last night. Well there was on behalf of the Blue
Jays and that just unbelievable inning that put them over
the top, thumping LA after I mean, Bridget you tell me,
maybe maybe you're the wrong person ask because you're in
Los Angeles, you're in the middle of it. But to
the rest of the baseball consuming world, it feels like

(36:04):
it's been a seven month conversation about the Dodgers, about
the spending, about Otani, about all the different things, about
the expectations, and they've lived up to it, at least
to get back to the World Series. But I am
fascinated what the dialogue is in Los Angeles today, and
we're going to get into that here in just a second.
But I'm going to remind you that during the MLB

(36:26):
postseason you've seen Strauss make history as the first brand
ever on the helmets workwere built to perform smart pocket design,
real comfort and durability, from grit to Glorygear up today
at Strauss dot com. That's Struss dot Com. You mentioned
the vibes in LA after the loss earlier in the show.

(36:50):
How much pressure did the Blue Jays just put on
the Dodgers to come out and thump them that way?

Speaker 5 (36:55):
You ready for this?

Speaker 6 (36:56):
Yes, the Dodgers are hoping that it's day and night today.

Speaker 9 (37:03):
Mary Fine familiar? Are you familiar with the Fine system
on the show? Oh my god, Mary, you didn't do
your job. You didn't tell her about this coming in.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
No is it because I sounded just like the.

Speaker 4 (37:18):
Song, Yeah, that's gonna be a fun no.

Speaker 5 (37:23):
Okay, Well back to the Dodgers now.

Speaker 6 (37:26):
I just had a friend of mine message me and say, hey, look,
I'm listening to you on Fox Sports Radio, like the
whole world is buck so just you know, keep keep
that in mind. And he said, we're fine. As a
Dodgers fan, I'm fine. And look here's the thing that
Dodgers fans I was around were not fine.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
But it's one of those.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Things a person sounds like they're trying to talk themselves
into being fine, Like, no, I swear.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
To God, I'm fine.

Speaker 5 (37:51):
I promise you I'm fine.

Speaker 6 (37:53):
Oh God, yeah no, but I will say they understand
that it wasn't gonna be an easy road, right, like
it's gonna be it's gonna take time to get to
the World Series Trophy. But as somebody looking, let me
just say, I grew up in New England, Okay, I'm

(38:15):
from Boston, grew up a Red Sox fan, so I
root for the Dodgers now that I live in Los Angeles.
But like, maybe my fandom is a little different than
people who grew up here. All that to say, there
is pressure on this Dodgers team. But when you look
at the Blue Jays, they had not been to the
World Series in how long and they're playing in Toronto.

(38:38):
You think those fans in that team were gonna lose
Game one? Absolutely not. I don't think a lot of
people thought the Dodgers were gonna win Game one. It's
the way that they lost that is very concerning, giving
up nine runs in one half of an inning. Let
me tell you this book. I was at dinner last night.
It's to too My husband and I were like, all right,

(38:59):
let's go home, like we can make it home for
the rest of the game. We get home, I'm putting down.
And you have kids, No, okay, I'm putting down. I'm
gonna tell you this story real quick. I'm putting down
my daughter, okay, right, Like it is very Anyone who
knows kids knows how important this is. It is very
quiet in her house. She just shuts her eyes. All
of a sudden, I hear my husband scream from the
other room.

Speaker 5 (39:18):
I'm like, what are you doing? What are you talking about?
Like she's about to fall asleep, Please be quiet. He's
like the Dodgers. Just now it's eleven to two.

Speaker 6 (39:26):
I'm like, okay, well now it's eleven to two, and
now our daughter is awake.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
So drama. I mean, it's just how did that happen?

Speaker 2 (39:34):
Baseball's funny that way, and certainly you hope that the
postseason is going to balance itself out a little more.
It's it is the right approach for Dodgers fans to
carry themselves in a way that today, you know, it's
just one result. The cliche has turned the page, and
that's exactly what they have to do. We'll see if
they're able to respond. We'll get back to the World

(39:54):
Series here a little later. We're going to talk about
a team that is try to figure out how fine
they are are the New York Giants Fine? Find out
next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

listen live.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
It is a Fox Football Saturday, and we're keeping you
updated with all the biggest games in college football. Alabama
and South Carolina tied up right now, Martin just got
you updated with a variety of different scores. We'll circle
back to that here in just a minute. One of
the biggest surprises, though, of the NFL season, if we're
to keep it football on this Fox Sports Saturday. She's

(40:41):
bridge at Condon by the way, filling in for Jason Fits.
Is so nice to be working with somebody who's actually talented,
as opposed to the baggage that Fits he brings to
this show and his frozen grapes. And it's nonsense. No
I'm not you can't find me. You cannot find me.
It wasn't rude, It's true.

Speaker 5 (40:56):
No, you can't talk craping a person out here. They
have to be able to defend themselves.

Speaker 4 (40:59):
I like that, But I do it to his space two.

Speaker 5 (41:02):
Someone just clip this and show it to him.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
He knows, I mean, he knows that anytime I open
a microphone and I utter his name, I'm going to
say something nasty about him. It's just kind of the
dynamic Bridget that we've had for ten years. She's Bridget conded,
by the way. I'm buck rising. That's Mary Mack hanging
out in La Lee is filling in for Ian today
because we're the replacements. But that's just fine, because we've
got some good football conversation.

Speaker 4 (41:24):
To get into.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
What is a bigger surprise in the NFL this season
than the second place. Well, there's a couple of different
things that you could look at, but the way that
the NFC East is playing out so far bridget We
understand that the Philadelphia Eagles still, you know, for no
pun intended rule the roost at five and two, but
they are going through their own version of adversity. The

(41:48):
New York Giants are two and five, but they feel
like the vibes are so much better. Yeah than that
for a last place team. Now, they're coming off a
story where Brian Daball and the Giants organization and running
back gam Scataboo, we're all fine for violating the league's
concussion protocol a couple of weeks ago on Thursday Night Football. Obviously,
there's a couple of different instances where teammate and coach

(42:10):
are checking in on Jackson Dart who is being evaluated
for a concussion.

Speaker 4 (42:14):
You don't stick your head in the blue tent.

Speaker 2 (42:15):
You don't freak out like Brian da Ball did because
he was having to watch Russell Wilson play football and
he wanted his rookie stud quarterback out there. But where
are the vibes better for a losing football team than
the New York Football Giants right now.

Speaker 6 (42:27):
It's interesting because I looked a couple hours ago at
the standings of the NFC East, which you think that
I would know, because I was like, there's no way
the Giants are last in the East right like their
second No, they're last. But because of how fun I
guess Jackson Dart has made this team, it feels like,
for the first time since I don't know, before Daniel

(42:48):
Jones got drafted, there's positivity in New York for the Giants,
which is just such a weird thing because yes, they're
two and five, they should be three and five. It's
weird two. I mean, this week has been weird collapse
that we saw from the Giants in the second half
against the Broncos last time, one of.

Speaker 2 (43:04):
The drunkest games I've ever seen. I covered Shane Bowen
for a couple of years in Tennessee. I know he
is getting heat in New York this week.

Speaker 5 (43:11):
So crazy.

Speaker 6 (43:13):
But regardless of that, like, let's just take that half
and throw it away from the time that they put
in Jackson Dart, which is kind of interesting because I
didn't think that it would be this drastic of a difference.
You look at Russell Wilson and what he's done over
his career. I understand like it's kind of been down
hill since he left Seattle, but what he's done and

(43:34):
like the talent that he has, and even like what
he did with the Seahawks last or sorry, the Steelers
last year, I thought, Okay, you know this rookie is
not going to be able to do much better, Like
that's why you kind of put the rookie in right,
Well not in this case, like everybody praises this guy
so much. I'm shocked with the drastic difference of how
this Giants team looks with Russell Wilson versus Jackson Dart. Again,

(43:56):
like the fact that they are Like just looking at
the NFC East Okay Eagles, Cowboys, Commanders, Giants, I don't know,
like it could would that have been your pick in
the preseason.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
No.

Speaker 6 (44:11):
I thought the Commanders would be in first place, to
be honest, and the Cowboys, once I heard they were
hiring Brian Schottenheimer, I was like, oh, they're gonna be
last in the league this year.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
I was kind of skeptical of Washington, not not because
Jane Daniels isn't spectacular or that they didn't do so
much to earn the right to have expectations. Like that's
the thing in football, you got to earn the right
to have some level of expectation. God knows, the Washington
football franchise has not had any level of real, like

(44:42):
genuine championship aspirations or expectations around them. I mean a
bridget I might argue my entire adult lifetime. I'm thirty two.
I feel like that team, you know, say, for a
few Taylor Heineke playoff appearances or something like that, they
haven't really mattered flashing the pan type stuff.

Speaker 4 (44:58):
RG three's rookie year type stuff.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
Right, So the fact that they came into this year
with a lot of hype understandably so a lot of excitement,
a lot of hope for the rookie quarterback and frankly
or the second year quarterback in.

Speaker 4 (45:13):
Jade and Daniels. It's just kind of the nature of
the league. Right.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
There's regression to the mean here, because was what stood
out about Washington beyond that Jaden Daniels was such a phenomenon.
They were remarkably healthy, like remarkably healthy. And it's so
lame for all the hours that you spend on television
or I spend on radio talking about the National Football League,
all the different things, all the different strategies, all the

(45:39):
different tendencies and things like that, just for at the
end of the day, the real crux of the conversation
being like, Yeah, the team that's most likely to win
the Super Bowl is the healthiest team, who's got almost
all of the players or as close to as many
of the players as they had at the start of
the year as they do at the end of the year.
Whoever's dragging their leg across the finish line. Yeah, that's
usually how it ends up going Washington, say.

Speaker 5 (45:59):
Again, unless you're the Chiefs, right, Like, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 4 (46:02):
They pissed me off.

Speaker 2 (46:03):
I mean just I admire them. I admire them, but
they pissed me off the fact that they again a
third place team, four and three. Right now, who you
would think if we asked you that at the start
of the season, if the Chiefs were four and three
in third place behind Denver and the Chargers, what would
be the conversation in Kansas City right now, it's hope,
it's joy, it's optimism, it's more coming for all of

(46:25):
your stuff again, because that four and three requires some context.
The Washington three and four require some context too, as
does the Giants.

Speaker 4 (46:32):
But I probably, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
I was a little more down on Washington just because
I assumed there was gonna be some unforeseen setbacks that
they just have to go through because it happens to
literally every team.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
Look at the Ravens.

Speaker 5 (46:44):
I want to ask you about the Cowboys now.

Speaker 6 (46:45):
When they traded away Mico Is when I was really like, oh,
it's it's a throwaway season.

Speaker 5 (46:52):
Did you feel the same.

Speaker 2 (46:55):
I just felt like, I mean, I don't know, it's
easy for me to sit here and a different media
market and look at Jerry Jones and being like, look
at that crazy old man.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
What's he doing?

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Like, look, it's just like Grandpa got got a hold
of the mat and controls and just started dealing players
for nothing at all and having a big time out there. Yeah,
they made a huge hole on their roster with the
conversation being about draft capital and needing to stop the run,
and they can't do that with Kenny Clark on defense.
It was just a nonsense trade, so for sure. But

(47:25):
I had no idea. Just like any other season where
you talk about preseason expectations that just don't end up
holding up at all, I had no idea this was
going to be the best football that Dak Prescott's ever
played of his career.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
Who saw that coming?

Speaker 5 (47:37):
Nobody? I'm like, did you and Mica have b for?
Something was going on? Was he like bullying you wi
his locker or something? I don't understand.

Speaker 6 (47:46):
This weekend is going to be huge though for the
NFC East, in particular the Cowboys. They played the Broncos,
which we were just talking, you know about this Broncos
bonext team and how they are above the Chiefs in
the at AFC West.

Speaker 5 (48:01):
I don't know like that.

Speaker 6 (48:02):
To me, this game feels really important and Week eight
is into the direction of the Cowboys and the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
How much do you trust the Broncos though, because like
I shall one and they kind of look exactly the
same thing as Week one.

Speaker 6 (48:16):
I got to go to London to watch some NFL
right amazing on the outside looking in like so fun
the first thank god it was there two weeks The
first game that I watched Broncos jets.

Speaker 5 (48:28):
Okay, even people in London, like the fans.

Speaker 6 (48:31):
Over there, are just so excited to see people getting
tackled right like they love NFL, doesn't matter who it is.

Speaker 5 (48:37):
Even they were like, it's kind of boring, mate, eh.

Speaker 6 (48:39):
And that was my attempt for the shocks.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
The way that you immediately.

Speaker 4 (48:45):
Started leaking confidence as you tried that. Mary of fine,
I think that's fine worthy.

Speaker 6 (48:50):
I just I don't know that it was kind of
poor though, hello mate, but like now I'm doing a show.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Mary so much nicer to you, by the way than she.

Speaker 6 (48:58):
Is girl like woman power girl, no, because you know,
we just connect. But anyways, they were like this is
boring and I'll start, I'll stop. But my point being
the Broncos offense, what the heck? It didn't come on
the plane with them to London and apparently got lost
in tsa second half of the game last week. So

(49:22):
I mean that was their defense too. But you know
what I'm saying, like, I don't trust them to answer
your question in a long form version.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
No, I mean it's we got two hours. It's okay
to stretch your legs a little bit here. We got
we got room to work. It's just one of those
things where the Broncos are five and two and to
to your credit or to their credit. Rather, it's just
about winning the game, so it doesn't necessarily matter how
it looks. Yeah, you're going to be doubted and things
like that. But I just coming off Thursday Night Football,

(49:50):
for example, before we get to the rest of the
Week eight slate, the way that the Chargers just bludging
the vikings, and I understand that Carson wins is an
absolute hell.

Speaker 4 (50:01):
And he's got a brace on.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
His elbow the size of most people's knee braces after
they tear their acl and he's behind a makeshift offensive line,
and he looks like he's just, I mean, being crippled
every time he drops back because of how often they're
getting to the quarterback. Chargers didn't care how they won
that game though, right They just grounded out. That's how
they want to win. I covered Mike Rabel and Tennessee

(50:24):
for a period of time. He had a bunch of
teams like that. It's just physicality, toughness. They're going to
win within the margins. Try not to be super penalized
and see if you can be a plus from the sidelines.
But they had an identity that they embraced. And I
know that's a cliche that football fans probably get tired
of hearing it. God knows, we and the media get
tired of hearing it because it's just repeated. No matter

(50:45):
who you are, or what team you're covering, or what
athlete you're asking, identity and culture always seem to come up.
But Rabel coached teams were always about something to the
effect of, it's not pretty, but it's beautiful, because winning
is beautiful, even if the process, even how even if
how the sausage of the win is made is not

(51:08):
esthetically pleasing. The Chargers are that right now. The Broncos
are that right now. I'm having a hard time being
as tough on them as I feel like I want
to be because I watch them. I watch them in
the Packers Bridget and I come away just be like,
I don't.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
Know about this.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
Like this, yes, you're winning, but it just it doesn't
make sense. At some point, this house of cards called
bo Knicks is going to come collapsing down on itself
and we'll find out who the Broncos actually are.

Speaker 4 (51:35):
And we do have it more than half of.

Speaker 2 (51:36):
A season of football to play just yet, but they've
certainly done themselves a great service by getting that.

Speaker 4 (51:41):
Who what other team? When I say winning football team?

Speaker 2 (51:45):
Clearly winning football team, but that you just feel a
little fraudy about what other team comes to mind? Oh?

Speaker 6 (51:51):
Really the team that immediately the Carolina Panthers winning football team, Like,
how are they look at you?

Speaker 2 (51:58):
Try to young people's Ye, Carolina, you know.

Speaker 6 (52:03):
I covered them right, Like I also need to just
interrupt myself for a second. I don't know what games
you have in your studio on the TV, but speaking
of teams in North Carolina that I covered, I'm staring
at NC State getting absolutely destroyed by Pitt. I don't
know why this is on my TV, but like, there's
so many better games anyways, Carolina Panthers have the same
amount of wins as the Buffalo Bills. What the heck

(52:26):
are we doing? That is a team that makes me
really curious. They seem fraudulent, but you know, I'm gonna
let their vibes be positive. Falcons to another team that
I'm like, are you good? Are you not good?

Speaker 5 (52:43):
It depends on the week.

Speaker 6 (52:44):
Like early in the season, I was like this team
is it and then that collapse. It's just it's up
and down, up and down, up and down for the Falcons,
the Patriots. I was going to ask you about Mike
Vrabel because obviously growing up in New England, a lot
of people I know still they're very excited and happy
about the five and two Patriots and what Mike Rabel

(53:04):
is doing.

Speaker 5 (53:05):
Oh, they're changing the TV for me. Thank you guys
so much.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
All you have to do is complain in front of
the microphones, and usually good things happens.

Speaker 5 (53:14):
And off my TV.

Speaker 6 (53:14):
I've seen way too much of his face in my career. Anyway,
let me not start hating on NTC Mike Rabel. You
got to miss him, You got to miss him in Tennessee.

Speaker 5 (53:23):
What the heck?

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Yeah, why don't we Why don't we talk about this
on the other side, the idea of the grass being
greener and coaching, because there's a lot of teams that
are considering doing exactly that.

Speaker 4 (53:36):
Mike Vrabel is a really good test study. If by the.

Speaker 4 (54:43):
The only thing that bothers me more than.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Fireworks is bad football organizations. Not just bad football teams,
not just bad football, but teams that stay bad because
they're run poorly. There's many fans that identify with that.
On this Fox Sports Saturday, she's Bridget Condon filling in
for the aforementioned Jason Fitz. I'm Buck Rising hanging out

(55:08):
with you for just about thirty more minutes, a little
more than thirty minutes. At this point, I cannot stand
when I watch teams that are bad. Historically, Bridget continued
to make bad decisions. That so happens to be the
case with the team that I have covered. This is
my ninth season covering the Tennessee Titans. I'm here in Indianapolis.

(55:29):
You guys are hanging out in Los Angeles and wherever
all of you are hanging out with us across the
Fox Sports Radio network. We appreciate you spending a bit
of your Saturday with us. The Titans organization is a mess.
They have fired Brian Callahan. They're the first team to
fire a head coach this season. Brian Callahan, by the way,
should have been fired to somebody who covers that team

(55:50):
on a regular basis, not because he's a bad person,
but because he was an ineffective coach. They replaced an
effective coach with a highly ineffective coach. They fired Mike
Vrabel for the sake of Brian Callaghan. They fired John Robinson,
the former general manager. They fired Ran Carthon the general
manager after that, so Rabel, Callahan, Carthon Robinson. The wheels

(56:12):
on the bus go round and round and round. And
as I watched Mike Vrabel whip their ass on the
opposing sideline in Week seven, where the Titans lost to
the Patriots thirty one to thirteen, I thought to myself,
surely this bridget will make the Titans organization self reflect
a little bit on what was standing opposite them on

(56:33):
the sideline and understanding that Mike Rabel's got a really
good quarterback situation as the head coach of the Pats.
Sometimes it's about letting the football people do their jobs
without meddling. And I just can't help but think that
that happens all over the National Football League.

Speaker 6 (56:48):
My question to you is, do you think that that
registered in their brains watching that game? Hell no, Like,
here's the thing, I don't understand it. And of course
it is so much easier for you and I to
look at these franchises from the outside and see the
mistakes that they're making and laugh and say, we would
never do that, right like, of course, because you and

(57:08):
I are incredibly intelligent and if we had, uh, if
we wanted to spend our billions on a team. I
know that we both have them, we would be making
much better decisions. But my question is, it feels like
there's so much overcompensating when things like this happens. It's
like when you're on a diet and you have I
don't know, like you slip up and you have a

(57:28):
piece of bread or like a reseas and then you
just like open the fridge and go ham because you
already messed up once.

Speaker 5 (57:34):
Let's just go all the way in that.

Speaker 4 (57:36):
Every time I get back from a football road trip,
I'm like, I already ate.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
I already ate three times, so well let.

Speaker 4 (57:42):
Me let me go get a let me go get
a pizza on top of it.

Speaker 6 (57:45):
Why not? That kind of feels like what happened with
the Titans, Like, well, we already fired this guy, let's
fire the rest of them.

Speaker 5 (57:51):
And then.

Speaker 6 (57:53):
We talked about this a little bit before the break.
The grass always seems greener. That is the issue with
so much much of the NFL and professional sports in general.

Speaker 5 (58:03):
Right, you have these owners that are.

Speaker 6 (58:06):
Used majority of them come from the business world, right,
and you are used to putting in work and money
and resources and hiring intelligent people and seeing results, right like,
that's in a normal world, that's how the direction trends.
But in the NFL there are so many uncontrollables. We

(58:26):
talked about health, we talk about just like weird flops
that happen in a game, like games sometimes where one
team is expected to win they don't like for whatever reason.
Weird things happen in the NFL much more than they
do I would say in a business world. And so
a lot of these times we see these organizations make

(58:46):
these rash decisions to try to erase it and like
fix it and want this immediate result. But the issue
is in the NFL, the immediate results really don't happen,
and if they do happen, you usually leads to a downfall.
The one team I will say that this didn't happen
to was the Rams when they put everything in they
won the Super Bowl, and then the next year they

(59:09):
had that horrible year. But then since then it's kind
of been steady, right like. Other than that, Usually it's
like when you're throwing everything in to one year, one season,
you're trying to get those quick results, then things don't
work out so well for you. After that because you
ruined like the future. Like basically, all I'm trying to
say is like sometimes we just need to zoom out
a little bit, be a little patient, accept some bad

(59:33):
and stick with it and like really evaluate people individually.
Like Mike Rabel was coaching a bad team. He's not
a bad coach, and we see that now with the
success he's having in New England.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
Well, and like the Rams.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
When the Rams did their version of bottoming out after
the Super Bowl, right bridget it was, it was a
five win football team. Like, they weren't the worst in
the league. They were not great any stretching imagination, but
they didn't.

Speaker 5 (01:00:01):
Say, let's fire Sean McVay.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
Yeah, they were still competent enough you understood the context
of that. And the Rams, I mean, obviously they would
have been fools to even think or even have a
passing thought about moving on from Sean McVay after that circumstance,
which is how things felt, and it was a little
split at the end of rabel situation is more complicated
than oh, owner did a dumb thing and fired a

(01:00:25):
coach that was.

Speaker 4 (01:00:25):
Good even though the roster was bad.

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Like Rabel's also famously not an easy person to work with,
and I have spent many, many years getting yelled at
in press conferences and outside of press conferences by Mike Rabel.
But the COMAP, Yeah, well, honestly, I would take the
chaos of covering Mike Rabel over whatever the hell it
is that I'm being lulled to sleep by on Sundays

(01:00:51):
when I cover the Tennessee Titans at one and six,
the Indianapolis Colts, who are six and one, much like
the COMAP, will put me to sleep sitting high atop
Lucas Oil Stadium in the press box.

Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
That gives me vertigo. But that's okay, because bad football
can be soothing. Yes, I have been so far at
least so far at least, so if.

Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
I give you beers afterwards, you know, lookas only we
got to work on something.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
But that's that's like way.

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
So who's the next Who's the next franchise to get
in a situation like this, because I think that's a
fascinating conversation for me.

Speaker 6 (01:01:23):
I got it, I got it. Are we allowed to
say it now? Or we need to have Martin break
it down?

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
No, first, we need Martin Weiss, of course, unless he's
not ready.

Speaker 5 (01:01:33):
Oh, he's ready, He's always ready.

Speaker 4 (01:01:37):
That's right. I am ready right here.

Speaker 8 (01:01:40):
Five minutes left in the fourth quarter, Mississippi State with
a ten point lead on Texas. Texas has the ball
trying to score a test and here as arts Man
and just thirds and incompletion, it's a thirty eight to
twenty eight. The twenty second ranked team in the nation,
the Texas Longhorns, again knocking on the door, second and
goal from the five. Keep you updated there, Texas Tech
and Oklahoma State, it's all over, but the final score

(01:02:02):
forty two to nothing with just under five minutes left
in the fourth quarter. Miami and Stanford just getting started.
My ninth rank Hurricane trailing the Cardinals seven to nothing
to twenty left in the first quarter and with just
on a nine left in the first quarter, scoreless between
Wisconsin and Oregon. Earlier today we saw Indiana it's smack

(01:02:22):
Ucla fifty six to six, Georgia Tech syric over Syracuse
forty one to sixteen. Those teams undefeated, both eight to no.
Eighth ranth Old, miss gave Oklahoma and second loss of
the year, thirty fourth to twenty six. Sixteenth tranth Virginia
survived at North Carolina two point conversion attempt that was
got down at the one yard line, seventeenth to sixteen.

(01:02:42):
The final score that game went to overtime. Kansas State
beat Kansas forty two to seventeen. Then the Sunflower Showdown.
It was the seventeenth straight Wildcat win. Lamar Jackson won't
play against the Barrison Whilways had a hamstring injury after
he was listed as a full participant in practice on Friday.
The Ravens had to adjust that practice report after with
a statement released earlier today. That's his third straight game missed.

(01:03:05):
Tyrod Taylor ruled out for the Jets.

Speaker 4 (01:03:06):
Game against the Bengals.

Speaker 8 (01:03:07):
Justin Fields will get at the start. Kyle Boys play
Straymon Diggs on injured reserve he'll miss the next four games,
and the Falcons expecting to start Kirk Cousins as Michael
Pennix suffered a bone bruise in his left knee last week.
Texas lining up for a field goal on fourth end
goal four minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
And twenty seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 8 (01:03:27):
It's a twenty six yard attempt for the Longhorns that
goes through the uprights. Now Texas trailing Mississippi State by
a touchdown thirty eight to thirty one.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Back to you, guys, Thank you Martin. She's Bridge of content.
I'm Buck Rising hanging out with you on this Fox
Sports Saturday. We were talking about the idea of firing coaches.
I cover a team that's already fired their coach, and
the coach deserved to be fired, and the organization is dysfunctional,
but for other reasons beyond the coach that needed to

(01:03:58):
be fired getting fired. What comes after, though, is the unknown,
and that's the situation that a lot of these NFL
franchises are going to be sitting in bridget You had
a tease before we got updated on all of the
things going on in the world of college sports, and
really all of the things going around going on in
the sports world right now.

Speaker 4 (01:04:18):
Would you like to set that up again for the audience.

Speaker 6 (01:04:20):
Absolutely, a team that comes to mind in conversations. People
keep throwing out names. Right this is We're almost midway
through the season. This is the time when fans are
calling for their coaches. Except like your team, they were
calling for him after Week one. Usually they wait until
the middle of the season. John Harbaugh and the Ravens.

(01:04:40):
People want him fired, And my pause for this is
exactly what we are talking about, what comes after John Harba.
Why do people want him fired? Yes, because they're having
a horrible start to the season. But is that on
John Harba?

Speaker 3 (01:04:59):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:05:00):
Absolutely, well, look we can I would love to.

Speaker 2 (01:05:03):
I don't think he's faultless. I'm not saying that faultless, No,
certainly not. I mean, we're seeing the guy who was
held on such a pedestal for so many years flounder
about at North Carolina. They almost had an upset a
ranked an upset went over a ranked opponent today North
Carolina and Bill Belichick.

Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
But I mean, we see they played Virginia.

Speaker 5 (01:05:27):
And they almost won.

Speaker 4 (01:05:28):
They almost won. They were just short.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
It was like the guy was like inches short of
the goal line to pull off an upset. So Bill
not having his worst day, even though they ended up losing.
My point is, though, the players matter infinitely more than
the coaches. John Harbaugh can't make a tackle for the
Ravens defense, Brian Callahan can't complete a pass for cam
Ward right Like, it's it's about the guys on the field.
But I don't know, bridget when when you spend so

(01:05:55):
much time there.

Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
That's an interest.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
That's a really fascinating case study because I think there
is some idea that the messaging on stuff can go
stale after a while.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Also the idea that their star quarterback is missing time.

Speaker 5 (01:06:11):
Okay, but now I'm like, where do I want to
go with this? I'm stressed. I'm stressed.

Speaker 6 (01:06:21):
Like I'm a big fan of John Harbaugh, So like,
please don't talk badly about him, No, just kidding. Let's
let's compare him to Mike Tomlin. Then, Okay, because Mike
Tomlin talk about we talked about Joe Flacco earlier, like
ride in the wave of a career. Mike Tomlin has
rid the way, hasn't had a losing record ever as.

Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
A coach with the Steelers.

Speaker 6 (01:06:42):
Uh, both of these coaches won Super Bowl right, both
of them have just one right, John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin. Okay,
Tomlin has been there longer I believe than Harbaugh.

Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
They both been just by a hair. It's not it's
not a huge difference.

Speaker 6 (01:06:58):
They've both been there a while, but they both haven't
done much since the early two tens.

Speaker 5 (01:07:04):
Ish.

Speaker 6 (01:07:06):
Now, I would say there's more of a case to
fire Mike Tomlin than there is John Harbaugh. But right
now the conversation does not include Mike Tomlin's name. Why
because of Aaron Rodgers and because of what they're doing.
When Aaron Rodgers leaves, are those conversations going to continue again?

Speaker 5 (01:07:25):
Because the last season.

Speaker 6 (01:07:27):
That was allowed echo fire Mike Tomlin like fans were
calling for him, but they still somehow made the playoffs,
did not win a playoff game. I haven't done that
in years. That conversation has gone away. Last season the
Ravens are like one play away from doing it, and

(01:07:51):
there was no conversation about John Harbaugh. So I know
things can change so quickly in the NFL. I just
think sometimes we need to be patient and zoom out
and not make rash decision.

Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
No, I understand your point at the crux of it,
But I'll tell you every time I'm in Pittsburgh, Bridget,
I don't know how many times you've done games there,
or how many times you've been to training camp or
things like that, but every time I do a game
in Pittsburgh, as soon as I get in the uber,
it does not matter if the uber driver knows what
I do for a living or not they are talking
about the Pittsburgh Steelers because they want to have a

(01:08:25):
conversation about football, because it is a die hard football
town and almost to a man or a woman, no
matter what the uber driver is talking about, within the
context of the Steelers, it's about.

Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
The underachievement of Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
I think they came away from that Thursday night football
game where Joe Flacco diced them up and their defensive
game plan was words that I cannot say on FCC
safe Radio, looking around and being like, how the hell
do you not adjust to the idea of playing Jamar
Chase one on one for basically an entire game and
letting a forty year old quarterback pick you apart that way,

(01:09:01):
I think that everything that Mike Tomlin does is hyper
analyzed in that market, specifically now nationally where you and
I exist, especially in this platform, like that's not the
conversation because we all know that there is worse football
being played. God knows there's worse coaches out there, and
that anybody in the world would give Mike Tomlin a

(01:09:21):
job the minute the Pittsburgh Steelers even thought about it.
I feel that way about John Harbaugh too, but I
do think Tomlin has a little more credibility than Harball,
at least in terms of what he in and of
himself does. I think Harball has some qualities that are admirable.
I think that at the end of the day, you're
looking around at a guy to give you some kind
of tactical advantage, some kind of rule book advantage in

(01:09:44):
things like that, things that people talk about with Mike Vrabel,
for example, I just don't know what Harball is in
the structure of that, other than they've had really, really
good players and he's been along for the ride.

Speaker 5 (01:09:55):
Respectfully, he's one of those older coaches.

Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
I'm not going to compare him to Bill Belichick, but
in that older wave of like players really respect him
for sure, Like the button up nests that he has right,
Like the organizational stability that he brings to a franchise.
He can win, he can do it the right way,
Like he has all your players in line right, like
they're following, they're following what you're saying. And a lot
of these maybe I don't want to say compare like

(01:10:20):
old to young coaches, but some of these younger coaches
you see them not have full control of the locker
room for whatever reason. But like a guy like and
I'll say Tomlin to a guy like Harbaugh, guy like Tomlin,
a guy like Pete Carroll, players aren't aren't talking back
to them, you know, but like maybe they are to
a Mike McDaniel, maybe they are to Brian McAllen. Yeah,

(01:10:43):
Like that's what I'm saying, Like, I think that's what
he brings, and people want to.

Speaker 5 (01:10:47):
Play for him.

Speaker 6 (01:10:48):
Like, if I'm a player and you're offering me the chance,
I think there's pros and cons to it, all, right,
But if you are offering me the chance to play
with a guy who is a well known name, who
has won a Super Bowl, who has been around this
league for so long, I'm taking that guy. And maybe
that's maybe that's the wrong decision. I don't know, but

(01:11:09):
I think I just think John Harbaugh is not a
name that should be on the shopping block, period, full stop.
That's the end of the conversation for me.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Yeah, I don't know what the Ravens are going to do, right.
That's and they're so tight lipped as an organization. Again,
they may get into a little bit of trouble here
with the NFL based on the way that they've handled
Lamar Jackson's situation. If you're not aware Lamar Jackson is
not going to make the start against the Bears despite
the Ravens listing him as a full practice participant on Friday,

(01:11:37):
there is going to be. There is currently an NFL
investigation into how the Ravens handled their injury report where
they listed Lamar as a full participant despite him not
taking starter reps. He ran the scout team on Friday,
So a lot of Ravens fans going through it, a
lot of Ravens fans frustrated with the organization. But to
your point, he understands what it takes to win games.

(01:11:59):
That all the nonsensical stuff, all the marketing, all the
business side of football organizations that start to meddle with
the football people, as I've seen done before. I'm sure
you've seen it happen in NFL organizations, where yes, people
say that winning is the most important thing and that
the sacrifice all of it is towards the efforts of winning.
But we all understand to a certain extent, not every

(01:12:22):
NFL organization runs that way. Not every NFL organization is
allowed to operate the football side in that way because
you've got many conflicting interests and a lot of people
grabbing in a lot of different things.

Speaker 4 (01:12:33):
Because football is a fun sport to be a.

Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
Part of, and you want to be the guy or
the gal to be credited with having the most amount
of success or contributing to that.

Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
We would be fools to not acknowledge the ego and
all of this.

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
So what Steve Bashatti, the owner of the Ravens, does
in this offseason, certainly it would not happen in season.
I wonder if Zach Orr doesn't get fired in season though,
Like if you're John Harbady, you feel like there needs
to be kind of a sacrificial lamb type situation because
is defense not just because they're injured, they're just playing poorly.

Speaker 4 (01:13:03):
They look awful out there.

Speaker 6 (01:13:04):
It's crazy because I remember two years ago I was
there too in training camp, and that was the first
year that Mike McDonald was gone, and people were praising
Zach Orr, like players were talking so highly about him.
But it's another situation where like he's super young, Like
if I'm not correct, if I'm gonna look up his
age real real quick, because I think he's like thirty four.

Speaker 4 (01:13:26):
Uh yeah, it'st it'll grocery autum.

Speaker 6 (01:13:28):
I'm sure he's super young, and it's one of those
things where, yeah he was born in ninety two, what
he's thirty three years old? Okay, crazy, Like there's again
pros and cons to.

Speaker 5 (01:13:38):
Being a young guy.

Speaker 6 (01:13:39):
And I think when you start out and you're young guy,
players are like, oh, yeah, you're like one of my
friends whatever. But then there comes a situation where it's like, Okay,
I'm not liking what you're doing, and now you're my age,
you're not my superior.

Speaker 5 (01:13:51):
It feels like and it gets kind of messy.

Speaker 6 (01:13:53):
And so I haven't been over there in a while,
but I wonder has he lost the locker room, you know,
especially in the defense. But they all so are dealing
with a defense that doesn't look the same as it
looked under Mike McDonald's personnel differences, and.

Speaker 5 (01:14:07):
I don't know. I think I would. I would be
more likely.

Speaker 6 (01:14:13):
I think we're more likely to see that happen than
in John Harbaugh, and I think that's the better decision.
I don't think anyone should get fired, right, Like, I
hope everybody lives long lives with great paychecks because everybody
has families. But if they were to have to make
a change, I think the smarter move is to try
to get maybe a defensive coordinator that is a little
more proven and been around a little bit longer than

(01:14:35):
a guy who's thirty three, but I hear great things
about him.

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
We uh, you could do worse than being a fired coach, though,
Like that buyout money is real, even if you're just
a coordinator.

Speaker 4 (01:14:45):
Like the BYO money, I'll get you through.

Speaker 5 (01:14:49):
Buyout, like fifty six, Can I just have half? You know?

Speaker 6 (01:14:54):
Like what, just do some charity work, give me half
and we'll both like call it, know, like just.

Speaker 5 (01:15:02):
With one million?

Speaker 4 (01:15:04):
Oh, I probably still with one million.

Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Of course, continue hosting the show. But I mean, besides that.

Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
Yeah, that's a good question.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
That sounds like a perfect Would you rather which is
the best game show in America? That we are getting
ready to play on Fox Sports Radio coming up next?

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
I'm so excited, not just because it's a Saturday night
and we're almost at the end of our portion of
the programming here on.

Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
Sheeting all because I'm in Indianapolis, which means that I'm
going to Saint Elmo's and I'm getting a steak in
a cocktail and I'm gonna have a.

Speaker 6 (01:15:43):
Yours is about to get clear up from that show cocktail.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Oh see, I'm I I don't. It doesn't even phase me.
I love that I would drink that cocktail sauce if
I could. Horse Radish is excellent. So I'm excited about it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
All right.

Speaker 6 (01:15:57):
Well, I'm a little sad that you feel excited to
be done with me, But that's fine. You have been
calling us replacementsal show, so it's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:16:05):
Not that you're bitterer. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:16:08):
Bridge of Conon and Lee have been very kind to
step up and fill in for Ian and Fitzie, who
I assume will be back next week.

Speaker 4 (01:16:16):
Mary, I don't know the last time we've done.

Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
A full show all four of us, because you know,
occasionally I will also abscond for Mike.

Speaker 5 (01:16:23):
We did, I had long hair.

Speaker 4 (01:16:24):
I just come here. Reponsibilities are right.

Speaker 5 (01:16:27):
He did probably Brian Callahan was still coach.

Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
And that was a hell of a week for me.

Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
God knows, I'm shocked I showed up for that edition
of Fox Sports Radio and Coaching searches. Coaching firings are
always a bit chaotic. Nothing chaotic, well non chaotic for
the Toronto Blue Jays, who were able to handle business
against the Los Angeles Dodgers last night in Game one
of the World Series eleven to four. If you've seen
that red Ostrich logo on the MLB postseason helmets, that's

(01:16:56):
Strauss trusted by pros Worldwide. Pants built like tools, durable, comfortable,
and engineered to perform from great to glory. Gear up
at Strauss dot com. That's s t R a Uss
dot com. Are you ready to play America's favorite game
bridgeccount it?

Speaker 6 (01:17:13):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
I can't wait. This is why I signed up for this.

Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
Let's go ll a.

Speaker 10 (01:17:17):
Well, guys, first, I got to say I am super
jealous of you, Buck because I had some Saint Elmo's
steak sauce last night my neighbors from Indianapolis, and he
treated me to a steak in some scene. Elmy said,
you have to try this sauce and it was delicious,
and one day that's all my bucket list of steakhouses
that I will one day attend.

Speaker 4 (01:17:32):
So you got to dine in the Peyton Manning Room.

Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
It's a very very special room at the very very
bottom of that steakhouse sounds for the effect.

Speaker 5 (01:17:40):
Just don't go during NFL Combine week. It's a little
too crazy.

Speaker 10 (01:17:44):
I believe that it was Super Bowl for drunks. Absolutely well,
some would you rathers?

Speaker 4 (01:17:49):
For you?

Speaker 10 (01:17:50):
It is Halloween week, so I have some Halloween would
you rathers?

Speaker 4 (01:17:52):
For you?

Speaker 10 (01:17:52):
In fact, we just did the Straus Weed. We got
a World Series on on Halloween on Friday. That would
be Game six if necessary. It is necessary because I
do not want to see a sweet Would you rather
miss the World Series? Or you watch the World Series
and miss all Halloween festivities? That's what I meant to say.

Speaker 6 (01:18:07):
Now here's see, I'm like a two technical person, like
am I me myself right now? When I have a kid?
Am I buck with no kids? Am I a World
Series player? And you're asking me to sit out of
the game? Okay, So I'll just take it for myself.
Ah God, if it's Game six, a clinching game, I mean,
I don't really have a dog in the fight.

Speaker 5 (01:18:26):
So I'm gonna go do Halloween. It's fine, I'll miss
the game.

Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
Yeah, baseball. Baseball happens all year long without me. Paying attention.
I'll check in during the world series, but that's about it.
Give me the Halloween parties.

Speaker 10 (01:18:37):
I know you usually do chat GPT for these for
these would you rathers? But I refuse to contribute to
the AI Apocalypse. Would you rather face a zombie apocalypse
or an AI apocalypse zombie?

Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Oh no, the AI Apocalypse, the app ai apockecalypse.

Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
Absolutely, I don't do zombies. Just take me out then, like.

Speaker 5 (01:18:55):
I could fight a zombie. AI is way too smart.

Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
That's right.

Speaker 10 (01:18:58):
You got to like hide out in the woods to
tip face the AI apocalypse. Guys, would you rather have
a flat tire or a broken windshield? Because That's what
I'm facing right now, Oh bridget.

Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
Oh god, flat tire. I'll just have someone change it.
I mean, I don't want to say I can't because
that is really just giving into the women's stereotype.

Speaker 5 (01:19:17):
But maybe I'll learn buck you.

Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
I would rather have Martin Wise and Moncy Belanos because
that's what's coming up next on Fox Sports Radio.
