Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to sports.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go stick a genius.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Let's go big boy, let's go.
Speaker 4 (00:08):
Let's go you okay?
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Are you okay?
Speaker 5 (00:12):
I I asked the question first.
Speaker 6 (00:15):
Yeah, Well, because you didn't return any of my text
since last week, a whole week has gone by.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Well, actually that's incorrect. I know that's not incorrect. That's
why I could prove it. I could look at my
text right now. Okay, go and look at the text
you sent me yesterday morning. Well, I'm not talking about yesterday.
I'm not talking about yesterday. I'm talking when the Knicks
took a one game to nothing lead. I said, you
go New York, go New York, go nothing. Silence.
Speaker 6 (00:44):
Nicks went up two games to nothing, silence for my
buddy Chris blike.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Well, me anything after they went up to zip because
that was when you texted me to let me know
that Stephen A.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
Smith was killed in Law and Order.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
So I kind of yeah, I figured your viewing priorities
were a little bit skewed.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
But yeah, I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Did you need did you even to say, hey, congrats
on your Knicks winning game one, winning game two?
Speaker 6 (01:06):
Okay, yeah, they got I'm the a person that on
this planet that picked the Knicks to win the first
two games on the road.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
There you go, congrats, man, No, you don't mean that.
But you don't mean that.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I can tell them your voice you why not.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
But it's old news. Now, it's old news. You're down there,
You're you're in trouble now, all right, isn't this? Isn't
this how the NBA playoff narrative swings. You're dominant in
the first well, you win the first two games after
being dominated, and you find a way, right, you find
a way. It's great. You went on the road and
stole two games. Jason Tatum stinks. The Celtics do nothing
(01:42):
but shoot threes. They're their head coaches in over his head.
Their star player is soft. It's over. And then all
of a sudden, you lose a game at home. It's,
oh my gosh. The Knicks can't handle success. They're doomed.
The Celtics are gonna win the next three games.
Speaker 5 (01:56):
It's over.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
It's just come on, man, you know this title wave.
We've rode this thing four in the NBA Playoffs. So
I don't want your highs to get too high, and
I don't want your lows to be too.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Well, it's okay, Nick's are going to win Game four.
That's a guarantee they'll go up three.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
You're guaranteeing that, guaranteed, guaranteed, I.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Will I will say I find it very interesting that
Roman Numeral one has nothing to do with either one
of the games that are played today, but has everything
to do with your knicks.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yes, I purposely did that.
Speaker 6 (02:24):
Why is that, Well, nobody cares about the other series
other than you.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
I'm the only one that cares.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
You're the only one. But you live in Oklahoma. Maybe
so the Olcahoma.
Speaker 6 (02:35):
City, the Olahoma City Sooners, that's right. Nobody knows if
they're the Ocaoma City Sooners or not.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Whatever soul knows what's going on. No, I agree, No clue.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Oh those Ted listeners right now, what's their nickname? Only
five would know?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Well, then they shouldn't be watching the NBA. If you
don't know that the Oklahoma City or the Thunder, what
you are you watching right now? I'm starting to wonder
if you watch the NBA. I think you just watched
the and that's about it.
Speaker 6 (03:01):
Somebody somebody was complaining that the that the people that
cover the NBA don't watch the game, so they're not
very good at their job.
Speaker 5 (03:10):
Well, I here's I think we can't agree on one front.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
I think we can the days when the stinking genius
would come on and say something bad about a an
opposing team's nickname, Well, nobody knows your name, you're not
the thunder and take calls all night long. Oh are
the moments where I could sit here and say, wow,
that box score the Cavs. Wow, they're just one and
four in the playoffs. You know, when they're up three
(03:34):
games to one, they shot sixty percent from whatever. Those
days where people give a damn about like box scores
or game they're over all? Right, we want we want
to debate whether or not you know the Draymond Green
angry black man. Yes, debate, right, we want a debate,
if that's fair. We want to fight about whether or
not the possibilities, right, are the Knicks gonna bounce back
(03:57):
from how terribly they played in Game? Three?
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Generation was the last generation to look at box scores?
Speaker 3 (04:03):
Yeah, you got to agree with paper. You opened up
that newspaper and you you read that page, oh for
like a good hour. I mean, you see what everybody
was batting and hitting.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Sure, it was great, it was amazing, and I listen,
I guess I'm a gen xer, so we would probably
be right on the tail end of that generation kind
of pseudo boomer as sports fans. I mean, they don't
even put that in the sports page anymore because you
don't have to, but I would. I would wonder. We
don't I think on Fox sports dot com, and I
know we don't on Fox Sports Radio dot com. I mean,
(04:36):
is there even a scoreboard? And if there is a scoreboard,
which again there I'm sure there is on Fox sports
dot com. What are the clicks like for people going
to actually look at the box score? Aren't you the
play by play? I just oh, here's the score? Okay
that I want to.
Speaker 6 (04:52):
Do that, like if if the like when the Mets
are playing, which is a lot obviously, or like today
the Mets were up, like whatever this SCO was, I
click on the box score to see, all right, who
had the hits to out of lindor do is he
got to go over three hundred? You know what's up?
Fobs and just all kinds of stuff just to see
who has all the hits? The home runs? The RBIs
(05:13):
they don't do that anymore. Nobody cares about numbers.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Let me care. Well, let's since it's Roman numeral one.
Even though full disclosure, he did send the Rundown on
Saturday too, since it's.
Speaker 6 (05:23):
Wrong, wrong with me for I was so excited, Nick,
I waited my whole life for the for this type
of New York Knicks game at home, and that's what
I got. And I was so excited to do the show.
I said to the Rundown on Saturday. You must have
thought I was it?
Speaker 7 (05:40):
Not?
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Yeah, I did. I was. I'm sitting there. I'm in Athens,
Georgia this week, and I'm working the SEC softball right
and all of a sudden and my days are all screwed up.
I'm just gonna be honest with you, because all season long,
Friday Saturday Sunday series, that's what we have, Friday Saturday Sunday. Well,
these last two weeks have been Thursday, Friday Day Saturday
and then Arnie this week we actually traveled on Wednesday.
(06:04):
So I'm really thrown off. So when you sent me
that text, You're like, is it today?
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Are we doing how we were doing? I thought we
were doing a show that night I had no idea.
Speaker 4 (06:13):
He sends me the roman numeral rundown. Yes, on Saturday morning.
But you know, if I could put truth sere them
in you. How are you feeling right now? How are
you feeling.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
About the Knicks? You're talking about.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
That's all you care about. I could talk about the
thunder game. I could talk about the Cats. We could
talk about Derek Carr, we could talk about Aaron Rodgers.
You don't care about any of that. I've got to
play the hits here with you.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
I wanted to go to the game. I wanted to
go to the game right, matter of fact, full pull
the curtain back. I was in New Jersey Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
But why didn't you go?
Speaker 6 (06:48):
Well, I had a funeral to go to. That's but
I could have still worked around it. Though there would
have been no problem. My aunt would have said, go
to the man passed away. She said, go to the game,
no problem, go to the But there was so expensive
for a ticket. I'm like, get seven fifty for standing
room only.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
And I was telling my wife, you know, I don't
know if I was gonna spend one thousand dollars or
something like that, or fifteen hundred two thousand.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
I've better have a good.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Seat, and you weren't getting a good seat for like
two thousand dollars.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
I'm not gonna spend that money. And could you imagine
if I would have went to the game they got
blown out or been really mad about it?
Speaker 4 (07:24):
Yeah, exactly, that would have been. Well, that's the only
game that's been at home so far.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Right, I'm gonna gone to the game in Boston too,
But I wouldn't have done that.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
But here's the thing. How shook is your confidence?
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (07:37):
If the game was closed or I'd be feeling a
lot better. I'm not shook at all. We're still up
two games to one, but now it comes down to
we have to win the next game. We can't go
back to Boston tied two games apiece and can't be
doub we've not.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Played well at home.
Speaker 6 (07:50):
I think we're like one in What is it for
something like that in the playoffs at home?
Speaker 4 (07:55):
I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 6 (07:56):
If you're one and four, you're not lasting long in
the playoffs. I still think we could will come back
and win Game four. I think taking the six and
a half points is a is a bargain but I
thought that the same thing for for Game three. I
just don't like the way they just blew us. They
hit every everything, three, every three pointer. I'm hoping they
got it out of their system now and they start
(08:18):
going back to like games one and two where they
start bricking.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
You know.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Part of me says, oh, they should be up three
games to nothing and this series should be over. But
it doesn't work that way.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
It's still two to one, and yeah, we we didn't
play a full forty eight minutes, but that really doesn't
make a difference. Right now, I still feel good, But
make no mistake about it.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
You gotta get Game four. Yeah, you have to take Game.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
Four, that's it. So you're putting Game four in must
win category even though it's two to one in favor
of the Knicks.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Yeah, I and even three games to one, you still
got to close up. But yeah, if they don't, if
they don't win Game four, the winner of Game four
probably wins the series.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I'm gonna say, you think so, Yeah, all right, didn't
let me this two two in the Oklahoma City didvers series?
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Do you feel that same importance in game five?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Oh? Yeah, absolutely? Why you don't feel that same importance.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
In game five because I think Oklahoma City can lose
that game and still win the series.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Oh wow, then you're really playing with fire Orange.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
I know, I know you are, But I also I
think that just a real quick shift to this series
for Uno, Momento.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Probably shouldn't have won this one.
Speaker 6 (09:22):
When the game, the Nuggets came back and took that
lead in the second half, opened it up to six
points towards the end of the third, I'm like, Oh,
they're yeah, third or four, I can't remember now it's
all blur, but I'm like, oh, they're gonna.
Speaker 5 (09:36):
You can't remember because you didn't watch it.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
But that's okay.
Speaker 6 (09:39):
But they're gonna they're gonna blow them out the you know,
win by ten and and go up three games.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
What in this series is gonna be over? So their
their series was online in this one.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
Yeah, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
Well, I I kind of feel like so far, I'm
gonna say this.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
I'm gonna say it, Arnie, and you know me, I
love the games.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
I'm always gonna watch the games, and I'm not I'm
just saying this because the thunder have been not the
same thunder they were in the regular season. But I
kind of felt like after the games, maybe Game one
in the thundered Nuggets series and then what game two
in the nixt Celtics series kind of duds, kind of
(10:18):
been a dud, right, you could pick three games where
you look at and say, wow, those were amazing, the
two comebacks by the Knicks to come back by the Nuggets.
Everything else has been kind of gross so far.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
No, you're you're right.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
I've complained about this also that some games have been
really good, been exciting, but there's.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Been a lot of blowouts.
Speaker 6 (10:34):
I don't know what the ratio is how many blows
we've had in the playoffs so far, but it certainly
seems like a whole heck of a lot of them,
that's for sure. Yeah, exactly, all right, Well this Pacers
Cleveland one. And by the way, did I not worry
warn you about the Pacers upsetting the Cavaliers and you
laughed at me last week?
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Did you not? Or what? I don't think I would
have laughed at you, but I did feel like Cleveland
was better. Well, whatever you need to do to feel.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Better about yourself, thank you. Thanks, sure.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
I just I think, in the end, Arnie, I think,
in the end, the Cream rises to the top, and
I think usually you see the higher seeded team start
to play a little bit better. I'm shocked by how
poorly Cleveland has played, especially today. Me, you're talking nine.
I mean, it wasn't even that close.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
And is Donovan Mitchell really hurt? Or did he just
not want to play in the second half? That's what
I really want to know.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Yeah, wait, what are you accusing him of not wanting
to be out there?
Speaker 6 (11:31):
No, I'm just saying, was he really hurt or did
he just not want to play the second half?
Speaker 5 (11:36):
I just asked you.
Speaker 6 (11:37):
I know that, but I tried to say that a
nicer way than than accusing him of just taking the second.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Well you just did.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I mean, I don't know how else you could phrase
that or frame that. You literally just accuse him of
not wanting to go back out there? Yes, how other
way can you paint it?
Speaker 6 (11:52):
I questioned it. I asked the question. I didn't accuse him.
I asked the question.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Chris wlike, well so that I don't would you ask
that to his face? Uh?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
What did you really hurt yourself or did you not
want to?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Would you you're telling me if you're in a postgame scrum. Yeah,
and Donovan Mitchell is sitting there. You'd be like, hey,
are you really hurt? Did you go back? Why didn't
you go back out there? You wouldn't really ask that question.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Is that an unfair question?
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah? Absolutely did? You would and you wouldn't ask that either.
You're asking that on the air where you would never
do it in person. I mean, it's it's unbelievable. Hey,
I don't think he wanted to be back.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Wait a minute, though, how many people really question like
Lebron's grade two paper cut and then.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
Oh, looking at he just wants the attention. Would you
ever ask him that to his face? Hey, you really got.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
A bad paper cut that you couldn't play?
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Or what?
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Huh? Whose paper cut?
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Well? It was a grade two spray and is what
I'm Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Anyway, Welcome into the Arning Plank Show. This is the
experience a great Yeah, well you show me man is
a paper cut? Listen, I didn't know you were giving
disager the night off.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I did.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Thanks for that, Martin Weiss, got updates, will keep you.
I'll take it next week off. Yeah you are, because
you're going to what permute or something like that.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
The many can Republic.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
I would like our listeners that have been to the
Dominican Republic to kind of tweet in and you know,
kind of give me the lay of the land and
how much fun I'm going to have and the scoop
and stuff I don't I don't know if they've been there,
but I'm going there on.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
So you're gonna use a national radio show to try
to be your research for your vacation instead of right like,
instead of googling things up, are using your Twitter feed,
You're gonna use our national sports show in order to
get feedback on what to expect when you go to
the Dominican Republic.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yes, you got it right.
Speaker 6 (13:48):
There you go, and really also what to expect from
an all inclusive I've never been to all inclusive. I
want to know, seriously, Like, if it's midnight, could I
just say, hey, give me a six pack of beer
and meat Paul sandwiches and it's all it's all paid for.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
I still can't comprehend that.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, I know, I agree, because I think you are
absolutely trying to use this program for your own benefit
and it's enraging. You're you're flaunting your wealth in front
of Ryan Berschinger, who's in tonight, and Mary Mack and
I fawning.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm going to Dominican Republic. It's all inclusive.
Speaker 4 (14:24):
That's flauning your wealth, all right.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
It doesn't make it any better than I said. I
brought it on Black Friday, so it was cheap.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
It was a.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Bargain or no, okay, I'll buy that is maybe a
little bit of a deal. Maybe it was like fift
Well then that's well, then I would really worry about
this poverty.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Yeah, I know, now you're kind of bragging about how
poor you are.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
I mean, I don't know either way it works for me,
but all right, well, Artie wants your help in his
vacation this week, and is what we're.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Looking Can I get the three meet Paul Sandwiches at midnight?
Speaker 4 (14:53):
They closed again. I told you this three weeks ago.
They eventually closed the kitchen. They'll have one kitchen that
is open during the day, and then they'll have a
kitchen that closes at like midnight or one am.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
It sounds like you're floughting your wealth. You know what
you're talking about.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
No, you made me look it up the last time
you brought this up two shows ago. I don't know
why you don't listen to me. I don't think you'll
listen to this program at all. I think you're right.
The Roman numeral rundown. You have the same tweet every
single week? How about this?
Speaker 3 (15:18):
People?
Speaker 6 (15:19):
I got grief about that that they want me to
change my opening tweet.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
They say the show is no longer new?
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Yeah exactly, so what so?
Speaker 1 (15:29):
So?
Speaker 3 (15:29):
You ever heard of new and improved?
Speaker 2 (15:31):
No?
Speaker 4 (15:31):
No, what improved is you can use like twice and
you use it every night. Here's what I would like
to improved.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Does that mean that it's old and crappy before it
was new and improved?
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Maybe so? Maybe so.
Speaker 5 (15:43):
But here's my challenge to you.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
I would think that one one thing you can do
to really spice up the Sunday night preview tweet? Yeah,
I think you should start in including the roman numeral rundown.
Speaker 6 (15:55):
You mean to take a picture of it and put
it on there, just like you send me. Oh, I
will do that hundred percent. How about I'll do that
next week?
Speaker 5 (16:02):
Well two weeks, well, two weeks that way? Can you
do it right?
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Well? After you get them flaunting your wealth this week?
And if you're all inclusive, resort. Then have your wife
show you how to tag pictures onto Twitter, and then
you can start doing it every single great.
Speaker 6 (16:16):
I could like, if do you want me to put
on which bathing suit? Should I get the speed over
the thong and put that on on Twitter and see
what people?
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Okay, God, no, no, please don't shoul I said it
to marry, just to marry.
Speaker 5 (16:28):
Yeah, I'll make her have to do with that one.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Don't send me anything.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Know.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
That way you can see if I should have the
speedo or I should wear the thong.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
You know, I wasn't even listening, but now that I
am listening, I don't want to listen anymore.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Wow, Wow, Arnie, could you please describe the difference between
the two?
Speaker 6 (16:47):
Well, the speedo has uh covers the butt a little bit.
The thong doesn't. So you know, just if you got
it flaunted, I guess right, all right.
Speaker 8 (16:56):
Nie, they call it I'll just say this, they call
it all inclusive for a reason.
Speaker 4 (16:59):
Buddy, all right, we got a pretty Please get us
out of this. When we come back to the Fox
Sports Radio studios, more than just the Knicks, more than
just the thunder, We'll give you a recap of how
we felt so far in the NBA playoffs and what
stood out today. I know our man Auburn Wild's all
over the Stanley Cup playoffs will sprinkle in some of that,
(17:20):
and uh listen. I'm one of the few Derek Carr
stands that are out there, and I think his move today,
I guess it was that yesterday. I think the move
that he made in retiring is something that Saints fans
should applaud. I'll explain coming up next right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (17:35):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
All right, it's Arnie in Plank coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. You know. Shady Seawan
asked a very good question here earlier on it is
Mother's Day. Happy Mother's Day, everybody, Mother everybody. There are
Mother's Day food deals that I guess made the round
on social media from such fast food options as Raisin Canes, Burger, King,
(18:13):
Jack in the Box. Somehow Hooters is included on here.
I guess Hooters wouldn't be considered fast food, but he
asked a very good question. Where were you? And will
you be taking Beth from Mother's Day? Any of these
deals jump out at you.
Speaker 6 (18:28):
No, my wife is a lunatic. And and I say
that the nicest way.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Yeah, what's a nice way to call soon a lunatic?
Speaker 3 (18:40):
She'd no longer like she has anxiety when we go
to the market, really yeah, oh big time. She like,
if I want to buy something, immediately looks at the
ingredients if it has seed oil or die or this good.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
When we go to the market and they hand you
the receipt, she won't take the receipt. Why not because
I guess it has like bad stuff like Carson engens
okay on the receipt, So she won't even do that.
That's how crazy now she has become. She she does
the smoothie thing with spinach. She wants to live to
(19:18):
two hundred. I don't, okay, So you know I'm okay
with that.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
She she's she doesn't do the fast food. I mean,
she's like spinach eggs, and I think that's all you're
allowed to eat. If you can eat healthy, that's it.
And in air and water, that's.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
A air well are you is it regular water or
do you have to get like Ozark Springs water. Is
there a Vermont Springs? Are you know?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
We have a special you know, water filter tap thing
that she drinks out of.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
So yeah, we we I don't even want to admit
on this radio program how much money we spend on
freaking water.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
She It's like, it's water baby.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
We don't need another water thing in the house, another
filtration system. A good question here from amusing tidbits quite
the name. It's incredible how many blowouts there are in
the season's NBA playoffs. Stay right, I'm sure it's happened before,
but I'm not sure it's this the most ever. You know,
that's a funny question because I feel like every year
(20:23):
we do this early rounds will be mad about how
lopsided some of the matchups are. Right, but I mean,
what the thunder win by forty the other day forty
and then came back and lost the next game. It's
like when teams.
Speaker 6 (20:37):
Get except what it seems like when teams get down
by twenty five, we're just taking the second after they're like, okay,
let's that's it, We're done.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Wave the white flag.
Speaker 6 (20:46):
We'll save our players, and we'll worry about the next game, though,
the Knicks came back from two.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
To twenty point deficits.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
Yeah, on the road, but those were early games, so
they didn't want to wave their white flag in that one.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
Well, and I you know, I maybe I'll do some
work on this. I'm sure what listen, I'll just be
honest with you guys. I'll get all fired up about
it tonight. I'm like, I'm gonna dig into that, and
then I'll start digging into it on Monday and I'll
be like, gosh, there's got to be a website for this,
and I'll google it for like ten hours and then
I'll just give up. But I would say that on average,
we've had to the first two rounds so far. You
(21:22):
know what you talk about in the NCAA tournament, Arnie, Yeah,
you like your.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
What buzzer beaters? You like buzzer beaters?
Speaker 4 (21:29):
Right? Have we really had that many games? I mean,
you had Aaron Gordon hit the three against the Thunder.
I guess you could technically say you had some dramatic
moments near the end of you can't say that you
had him near the ends of Game one and two
of the Knicks Celtics series. But I feel like we're
able to name on one hand those moments were like, Wow,
(21:50):
what a finish in the NBA playoffs so far, and
we're you know, we're getting towards the point where the
conference finals are about to be sat.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
Well, we've had the upsets though, Chris upsetting the Lakers,
the Knicks winning the first two games in Boston.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Look what's going on in Indiana, Cleveland, Oklahoma City is struggling.
So I mean, we're having the upsets.
Speaker 6 (22:12):
That's that's what we complained about in the NCAA tournament,
where we didn't have too many upsets.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
So you think, in your opinion, then the fact that
we've seen some and I don't want to use the
term cinderell in the NBA, but that we've had a
couple of upsets and some top seeds being pushed. That's
made up for the lack of truly like NonStop competitive games.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
I don't know if it's made up fully.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
It made it maybe more palatable when it's all said
and done, but it's you know, when you have the
top teams out, it shows later on in the finals.
Like I said, Chris, I've been saying this from day one,
I don't want to see Cleveland and Oklahoma City, and
a lot of people were the same way. But that's
what happens if the Lakers aren't going to be around
(22:55):
with the Knicks or Boston or teams like that.
Speaker 4 (22:57):
At Stinking Genius one, that's why where you can find Arnie.
I'm at Plank Show. Everyone make sure they check us
out at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
I just said that the meanest tweet ever.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
What he say.
Speaker 6 (23:09):
Arnie could live to be two hundred and still not
see the Dolphins, Knicks or Arizona Wildcats win a championship
in that span.
Speaker 5 (23:15):
Oh, at least in two hundred years you might see one.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
I would just whoa could you imagine if we're doing
the show, we're both two hundred and I still haven't
seen the Dolphins, Knicks or Arizona with any championships.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I couldn't handle that.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
At that point, Arnie, here's my question to you. I
will quit at one. Okay, I was gonna say, at
that point, would you, at the very least, at the
very least think about changing your allegiances.
Speaker 6 (23:43):
I think you know what, if they don't win in
two hundred years, yes, I will change.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I will change my allegiance.
Speaker 4 (23:50):
I promise a right. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the sega
is out, but you know you love and Martin Weis
is in the house and get us caught up on
everything going on in the world of sports. What's going on? Martin?
Speaker 2 (24:01):
There?
Speaker 4 (24:01):
He is, here, he comes.
Speaker 8 (24:03):
Maybe what's going on? Was uh one of those? Was
it lopsided margins?
Speaker 2 (24:08):
You know?
Speaker 8 (24:08):
Part of the thing is this, it's a twenty point
game in like, if it's a ten point game the
whole like for forty six of the forty eight minutes
that they're playing, and it turns out to be twenty
in the last few minutes.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
All right. I don't mind that so much.
Speaker 8 (24:24):
It's going back and forth, but when it's a forty
one point margin at the half, I'm looking for Netflix.
Speaker 4 (24:30):
Yeah, or on Order, say Law and Order? Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Laurell. You know you said Stephen A Smith.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
I saw that done right away. I can't believe they
killed Steven.
Speaker 6 (24:40):
I was gonna send you a tweet that said Steven
A Smith that got killed and then like five minutes
ago on Law and Order, but I didn't want to.
Speaker 5 (24:50):
I'm very glad you didn't.
Speaker 8 (24:51):
The whole world would have been waiting for that five
minute later dispatch Out of you, buddy. UH one one
O nine was the final score in Game four of
the Eastern Conference semi Finals. Indiana takes a three to
one series lead over the Cavaliers. Cavaliers got some more
issues besides down three to one. Donovan Mitchell came out
at the half kind of like was just warming up normally,
(25:14):
it seemed, and was rising up for a jump shot.
Never left the ground, his feet stayed there, and he
didn't come back in the game. He was listening to
this doubtful obviously, Like I said, they were down by
forty one, But you have to wonder, even if they
were down by one, if he would have been able
to play, because he kind of had a weird thing.
Speaker 3 (25:32):
Now, that's an unfair question. According to Chris Flank.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
I think to ask if he tapped out.
Speaker 8 (25:38):
No, I didn't say he was tapping out, But I'm
saying my question is is his injury so severe that
he would not have been.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
Able to play? What he been able to play through it.
Speaker 8 (25:47):
At forty at forty one point margin, he could have
you know, been feeling spry and great and sitting on
the bench would be no problem right at that rate.
But let's see go over to the thunder game. The
OKC ties their series up with Denver two games apiece
as that series travels back to Oklahoma City ninety two
(26:09):
to eighty seven. The final score of their SGA with
twenty five points and six rebounds. Okay, she's out thirty
five percent from the field, so it wasn't exactly an
offensive masterpiece. Five to two is the scores of Dallas
Stars beat the Winnipeg Jets three goals in the third
period broke a two to two tie. That series is
now two to one. Dallas of the Panthers beat the
(26:30):
maple LEAs two to nothing to tie that series two
games apiece. On the Eastern Conference side of things, in
the second round, Game five goes back to Toronto, Bud
Black is out of a job. The Colorado Rockies fired
their manager after picking up their seventh win of the
year on Sunday, defeating the Padres ninety three. In related news,
the Rockies lost twenty one to nothing on Saturday and
(26:52):
our seven and thirty three on the season, So you
have that. Freddie Freeman and Mooki Bets both hit home
runs as the Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks eight one. Kylege
Wber had two home runs as the Phillies beat the
Guardians three three games. All these playoff series have we
all jumbled up?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Three runs? Three runs to none.
Speaker 8 (27:11):
Phillies over the Guardians on Sunday Night Baseball Back to
you guys.
Speaker 5 (27:15):
Thanks a lot. It's mart wise.
Speaker 4 (27:16):
He'll be on updates all night tonight with Arnie Spaniel
on Chris plank This is the Arni and Plank Shaw
on Fox Sports Radio. One note on Bud Black. Yeah,
I swear I thought he was fired like three or
four years ago. But I'm not even kidding the dude.
It's kind of wild if you think about it. Do
you know the last time he had a winning season
in Colorado as their head coach as our manager?
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Sorry, no, I have no idea.
Speaker 4 (27:40):
Twenty eighteen, twenty eighteen, he they went, they won the
they lost in the National League Divisional Series to the
Brewers in twenty nineteen. Not only was that the last
time that they made the playoff or actually had a
winning season, it was the last time they made the playoffs.
(28:00):
They were If you and I know this is kind
of unfair, but the dude lost one hundred games in
back to back seasons and still got rehired. And the
season before he lost ninety four games. The guys had
more ninety lost seasons than he had winning seasons, and
they kept him around. I mean, I'm not gonna lie.
(28:21):
When I heard he was fired, I'm not even kidding.
I was like, he's still the coach there? How is
that even possible?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
With the finals? Thought he was with the Padres.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Yeah, that's where he was before. I know the bad
Potter's actually have a good manager now, But I was
just kind of blown away by, like, I don't know.
I know, Denver, you're all fired up because Sean Payton's
got him a quarterback, right, and I know that you
still got coach Prime and things are good with the Buffalos.
So Denver and Colorado cares about college football again. And
I know that when you're looking at things from a
(28:50):
what's current lens? The Nuggets are in a really good
series with the Thunder. But has everyone just kind of
given up on baseball or something? I mean, the Colorado
Rockies used to be It's freaking awesome. Man. When you
would go to Cours, what would you see? You would
see a light show, you'd see bombs, and you didn't
want to go there and face their murderer's row. Now,
all of a sudden, you've let a manager stick around
(29:12):
for that long whenever he has four ninety plus lost
seasons over the last seven years.
Speaker 6 (29:18):
And they're by far the worst team in baseball. It's
not even close. They're plus minus is double of anybody
else that's even around them. It's just bad to see
where they are right now.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I know on this program, we're not big baseball people,
and I understand, well, let me rephrase that. It's not
a major talking point across all of sports radio. Right
it takes something big happening with the Yankees or the Dodgers.
This is probably an area where major market teams still
matter more than they should. Or if it's Aaron Judge
doing something or or show hey you've got great individual players.
(29:52):
But I mean, if it's not, if it's not those
handful of people, it's just like we ignore it. And
I'm the in competence it's been taking place in Colorado
and the fact that they've just allowed it this long.
I know there's a diehard Rockies fan that has to
be listening somewhere, make it make sense to me. That's
all I'm asking tonight on X slash Twitter at Stinking
(30:13):
Genius one at Plank Show. That's all I'm asking for, Arnie.
We're not a big baseball show. But how did this
dude get that much time? Maybe he's a great guy.
Maybe you want everyone loved Bud Black and it's just
hard to say goodbye.
Speaker 6 (30:25):
Maybe everybody's worried about the Nuggets instead of the Rockies.
Speaker 4 (30:28):
And that's what I'm saying is maybe everyone's so caught
up in what's going on there. I just I don't know.
Speaker 5 (30:33):
Man, it made zero sense to me, none whatsoever.
Speaker 4 (30:36):
So on the roman numeral rundown, I found this interesting
because in the I guess you could say space roman
numeral five. Yeah, that was dedicated to Derek Carr. You
asked will he come back? That was number two?
Speaker 3 (30:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (30:54):
I have had this take for a long time.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Arnie. By the way, just so you know, when you
see the roman numeral rundown, see a how hard it
is to read his penmanship, and then b he'll give
you a Roman numeral. Then they'll give you like one
to two to three points underneath it. Number one was
it's terrible. Number one retires is and I think you
spelled retired wrong. Number two.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
Is that an eye?
Speaker 4 (31:17):
Oh my gosh, you're handwriting, Arnie. But number two you asked,
will he come back? I don't think so. I think
Derek Carr as someone who loves him. I know, right,
I'm one of the and I'm a Raiders fan. But
he brought the Raiders something they didn't have for a
really long time after Rich Cannon. He brought him stability
at the quarterback position. And if I still say to
(31:38):
this day, if he doesn't break his leg in twenty sixteen,
I think that Raiders team was going to the super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (31:43):
But I digress.
Speaker 4 (31:45):
I think he's done. He's a guy that his faith
matters to him more than anything else, and he's open
about it and honest about it. He's got a family.
They just I mean, you heard the gut wrenching story.
You know, while Saints fans are busy like burning car
jerseys and effigy, he's losing a child. His wife lost
a baby, and everyone's like, good, get him out of here.
(32:06):
It's like you people are sick sometimes. But I don't
think he's coming back, Arnie. I think that he's a
guy that when he retires he'll be good with it.
He's made a lot of money. Saints fan's gonna be
happy that he gave money back, and those of you
that didn't want him there, guess what. He's not gonna
be there, So now you can deal with Rattler shuck
and Jay Hayner sounds awesome, But I don't know, Arnie.
(32:27):
Are you of the feeling that you think he gets healthy,
sits out of here and tries to make a comeback.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
Well, first of all, just looking at the money, he's
gonna get to keep the ten million dollars signing bonus,
but the Saints are going to save the thirty to
forty million dollars in salary. And I was just trying
to say, well, let's make that make sense. And the
reason you would allow something like that if you're Derek Carr,
is because you're gonna take the ten million in your
(32:51):
pocket that you're not gonna get the seventy million over
two years. So either you're okay missing out on seventy million,
which he may be okay. I not so sure I
would be, but maybe he said I'll make up part
of that seventy million, because I'm gonna come back and
I'll be in a better situation, maybe even come back
later on this year.
Speaker 3 (33:11):
So I do think he's coming back. That's why he
gave me.
Speaker 5 (33:14):
Because but do you realize how much he's made in
his career.
Speaker 3 (33:18):
I don't have the numbers in front of me. How
much is it total?
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Well, you're acting again, thirty millions. It's a big chunk
to have to give back. But the dude's made probably
close to one hundred million dollars in his career, right,
I mean again, if thirty million dollars were out there
waiting for me, I mean I'd be like, hey, cut
the arm off, I'll play anywhere, you know, let's go
get me out there. But I just I feel like
that he doesn't really need it. You know, he got
(33:41):
a big contract from the Raiders, you know, a couple
of years with the Saints.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
It's a pretty big deal. I feel like it.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Well, in the next two years is seventy percent of
his total career earnings seventy million dollars? If he's made
a hundred million.
Speaker 4 (33:55):
Well, I mean, I that's that's thirty that's you treat
it like it's ten dollars and seven dollars. That's still
thirty million dollars more that he has made. There's a
lot of money.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
Like I said, though, the only reason I feel he
was okay with that is because he was going to
come back and make a part of it. You're never
gonna miss you with your seventy million. But he'll be
in a better situation and make up some of the
money and be able to heal in his own time.
So that's why I think he is.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Going to come back.
Speaker 4 (34:23):
I think he really wanted to make it work in
New Orleans. That's a pretty brutal fan base. I mean
I think I thought the Raiders were bad, and then
I got caught up in Saints Twitter. I mean, you
guys are just holy smokes. I mean, you forget I
remember when the Saints were terrible. I remember when you
know that Aaron Brooks, Bobby Abeart love Bobby by the way,
(34:43):
Archie Manning. I mean, it was just a bad football team.
But they get good under Drew Brees. They won a
Super Bowl, and then Peyton leaves and then Drew retires,
and all of a sudden, you feel like it's just
gonna keep rolling and they kept in their front office
kind of begging. What is it begging for Peter to
pay Paul or something like that, and it just never
worked out and they need a reboot. They're gonna get
(35:04):
a reboot, and I think it's gonna be good for
them long term. But I think Derek's done, Arnie. I
think he's done now. Could he be in demand if
he gets that shoulder healthy as a couple of workouts, Absolutely, absolutely.
But I think this is a good move for car.
I think it's a great move for the Saints, and
I think both will be better off for it. I
don't think he's coming back. I think he's done, but
(35:25):
I also, you know, it's it's one of those things
where like I'm riding the fence house, like he gets healthy,
you never know, right, maybe he suddenly feels like he's
got this thing cooking.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
You would take him back the Vegas and a heartbeat
if he was out.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
Well, I love him. I mean that that that dude
they keep. Twenty twenty one was an incredible year because
Derek Carr never gave up. And that's why I love Batman.
It's my quarterback.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
It's my quarterback, quarterback, all.
Speaker 4 (35:47):
Right, we'll get your tweets coming up next to Tarni
and Plank on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
Hey, be sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio
YouTube channel. Tons of great videos for many of our
Fox Sports Radio shows. Just search Fox Sports Radio on
YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch of video highlights
from our programs. And be sure to subscribe so you
always have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio videos
on YouTube. I could imagine you were over the moon
(36:17):
whenever the Knicks went up to zip. How many times, though,
did you try to give up on them down twenty?
It had to be a lot, right.
Speaker 3 (36:23):
Oh tons.
Speaker 6 (36:24):
Matter of fact, I even like turn the game off
for like a couple of minutes.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Oh really, it's taking all this is over? And then
I put it back on like I couldn't take it anymore.
Speaker 5 (36:34):
But you know what, Honestly, there was a part of
me because when was game?
Speaker 4 (36:38):
Was it last Monday?
Speaker 3 (36:40):
It was Monday?
Speaker 4 (36:42):
Yes, okay, because that was when that was the big comeback.
I was like twenty four, maybe twenty six at one point,
and I remember thinking about texting you just to be like, hey,
are you okay? But then I lost interest too because
it was a twenty point blowout. And then the next
thing I know is the Thunder we're playing later that night. Yeah. Yeah, yeah,
(37:02):
the Thunder We're playing later that night in game one.
So that's kind of like I can I can pay
attention to my family for a little bit now and
act like I know what's going on here, and then
I look up and it's in overtime, like what.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
It was great?
Speaker 6 (37:16):
And then and I tried to tell you your Thunder
was going to lose, but you didn't believe me either,
did you.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
That's still I mean, if you want to look back
at the four games in the Thunder Nugget series, might
be the foremost confusing games that two teams can play
against each other in the history of ever. Because the
Thunder should have won Game one, they go into this
terrible strategy where they start fouling guys in the backcourt
with a three point lead, and they lose.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Still don't know how.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Then they win by forty three, then they lose by nine,
and then both teams forget how to play basketball for
the first half, and the Thunder go on the road
and win.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
I'm so confused by it. Makes zero sense to me.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
And I'm not a gambler, but I would put every
single penny I have on Oklahoma City tomorrow night because
they're just wait, it's not tomorrow night, sorry, Tuesday night.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
Tuesday night. They're gonna blow them out.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
What's the line in that one?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
Do you know? Well, let's see, are they pull one
out yet? I always go by what scores and odds
dot com. You were dead on by uh, by the way,
I know that you would have lost the bet. But
the other night, on Friday Night, when we were doing
the Friday Night Show, I was blown away to see
all the odds. I mean, every single road team was
a five and a half point or more underdog. Blown
(38:29):
away by that.
Speaker 3 (38:30):
And I love the six and a half with the
Knicks on on tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (38:33):
I love that. Well, of course you do, because you're
a Knicks fan. But you also told me. You also
told me to take it easy money on Saturday, and
that didn't really work out so well.
Speaker 3 (38:45):
No it didn't. But I don't think I told you
to take the five and a half.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
You don't think that you were telling people that the
night is getting five and a half was easy.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
I can pull the tweet up right now.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
I told I didn't tell you directly.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
I follow you on Twitter.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
Arnie. There's no out on this. You missed the pick.
You can't guarantee anything, even though I'm sitting here trying to.
Even though I'm trying to guarantee something that would happen
in the Thunder game, I don't know, man. I'll tell you.
We watch because we're NBA fans and we're gonna follow
it like crazy.
Speaker 5 (39:13):
But I gotta tell you something.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
I'm really really excited to see the way that things
will play out in the conference championships. I really am
with any of these teams that move on, right I
think a T Wolves Nuggets or a T Wolve's thunder
is gonna be awesome. If Steph can get healthy and
the Warriors can get there, look out, if your knicks
make it, then it's gonna be a media phenomenon right
(39:36):
within making it right. If the Celtics do, then we're
gonna have another chapter to that legacy. And I kind
of think Indiana's getting a little bit of buzz here,
So I mean, I'm trying not to get too carried
away here, but I do think Arney Spanier that It's
pretty exciting, pretty exciting to see what could be coming
up the champion in the conference championships, especially if your
(39:56):
knicks make it.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
I think I'd rather face Cleveland than Indiana.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Well, you might not have an option right now the
way things are going for Indiana. Indiana. Indiana might be
one of those teams that you look up all of
a sudden you're like, dang, they're playing for a title
when you didn't expect it. All right, Hour one of
the books. When we come back, Todd Furman's gonna join
us next hour. We'll hit your tweets right off the
top of the hour, plus some Aaron Rodgers news. It's
all coming up with Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
It's Arnie in Plank coming. What's that they're mad at me?
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Why?
Speaker 4 (40:31):
I mean?
Speaker 6 (40:31):
I didn't know who wasdu I didn't know who was
producing this show till now.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
I literally have set his name like five times.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
Yeah, but I wasn't paying attention.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
You think I just emailed you for fun today?
Speaker 4 (40:42):
Arnie?
Speaker 3 (40:42):
Who are you?
Speaker 4 (40:43):
Who did you email me?
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Though?
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Do you ever check your email? I do? All right? Well,
then you had an email from Burisch earlier today. In fact,
it was.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
It was the show reads and I never look who
sends them to me?
Speaker 4 (40:57):
How can you show I'll get him that one because
I don't I don't look at Yeah, but he's like
the ghost. I mean he should, right, Mary, I mean,
don't you think at the league's achieving. I'm a Gmail guy,
so literally the person who sends me the email is
the first thing I see that's out set up. I
don't know Arnie still uses AOL. I think, yeah, I
(41:19):
don't even remember how those look in your inbox, So
maybe maybe there is some plausible deniability. He hears, Oh
that's Bursch.
Speaker 6 (41:27):
I don't even know who is you know you said
talking about? Is that the guy that used to produce
our show and we fired him?
Speaker 5 (41:36):
I don't think we fired him.
Speaker 6 (41:37):
But yeah, because he rooted for bad teams and we
can't have that on our show.
Speaker 4 (41:41):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
Surely you and I can't have anyone on here there
is for bad teams.
Speaker 4 (41:46):
Exactly, neither one of us would be employed any exactly.
You want to hit some tweets, So you literally just
now realized that did you know that? Martin wax Is
on updates to I have no idea. They let me
know that like an hour ago. By the way, this
is fair. This is fair. I can admit when I'm wrong.
Vic hits us up and says, the Celts were very Celts.
(42:08):
Excuse me, The Saints were very good when Bobby Abert
was with. Yes, the most successful Saints teams until Breeze
and Peyton. You're right, you know what. That's my bad
if I was because I love Bobby Abert. I used
to the Athlon's magazines would have a picture, and when
Bobby was with the Saints, I would always hang that
picture in my room because I'm a freaking nerd. I
(42:30):
could have easily gone with Did you know Carry Collins
played for the Saints. I could have easily gone with
Jim Everett. Did you know Jim Everett played for the Saints.
I could have gone with Wade Wilson, John Fourcade, Dave Wilson,
Kenny Stabler, Bobby Scott, just the first first name. Well,
(42:50):
he wasn't very good with the Saints. That's what I
should have gone with. You are correct, sir, But I
will say this much. The Saints were in this area
where you know, they they lost every game Derek Carr
didn't start whenever he was their quarterback, and I think
I don't know overall what the number was, but I
think he was right around five hundred, you know, right.
But that's not bad enough to end up getting a
(43:13):
draft pick where you're gonna get one of these good quarterbacks,
and it's not good enough to where you're gonna keep
your fan base happy.
Speaker 6 (43:18):
If you're if you were Aaron Rodgers, which team would
would you want to play for?
Speaker 4 (43:25):
The Steelers? I don't think the Saints are after Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 6 (43:29):
No, but if you could choose, it might not be
that bad to go in the same direction you're in.
The vision that is certainly winnable if you kind of,
you know, get things going in your direction. They've got
some weapons, Pittsburgh seems like they don't have any more
weapons out that they got rid of their world wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (43:49):
K Metcalf's a pretty good option to have. He's so old, though,
But what it just seems like he's so old. How
do you think dk Metcalf is is Arnie twenty eight?
I mean, dude's twenty seven years old.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
Okay, that was close. I was close.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
That's old to you for a guy that is in
his what maybe fifth year in the league. He's going
he's going into his seventh year in the league, and
he's been a consistent thousand yard receive and you're like, oh,
he's so old. Well, it just.
Speaker 3 (44:21):
Seems like Pittsburgh's the third of the of the four
teams in that division.
Speaker 4 (44:25):
Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (44:26):
I would give the Saints some strong consideration. I don't
think it's as easy as you make it, though, picking
between the two.
Speaker 4 (44:32):
Well, I don't think he's picking between the two. I
don't think the Saints are interested, but we could. I mean, honestly,
we could have a debate. I'm open to it. You
got more be interested. No, they've rebuilt their offensive line,
or at least they've tried to. And Chris o'lobby, you
have a number one, right, you have a true number one.
(44:54):
They when they got Brandon Cooks, which I feel like
he's been around forever. Uh. I felt I watched a
lot of Saints football. I felt like the Shaheed kid
was always open and Derek Carr and him had a
great connection. So there's three receivers and I guess she
might be more of a eh. I guess he's a receiver.
You got Kamara, Alvin Kamara, who's back. I don't know.
(45:16):
Maybe there's something to it. Maybe I shouldn't dismiss it
so quick.
Speaker 6 (45:18):
And people, I mean, you're not a big Spencer Rattler fan.
There's a lot of people think that this guy is
no how a starting quarterback. So you have no quarterback
really whatsoever.
Speaker 5 (45:29):
I'll tell you what I'll Tyler here. Here's here's a
hot take.
Speaker 4 (45:32):
Yeah, I think Spencer Ratler is going to be a
better quarterback than Shuck will be. This I I have
lost friends over my disdain for the kind of NFL
prospect that uh Taylor Tyler Shuck is. I don't get it.
I don't get it. There's a lot. I mean, I
think Kellen Moore is super smart. I think he's a
sharp dude. I watched Tyler Shuck for eighty six years
(45:54):
in college. And I don't get it. And I know
right now, Saints fans, you're selling yourself on.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
It because you don't have a quarter whatsoever. Then, really,
because Rattler's not the answer.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
He's better answered than Schuck is. Did you see when
they tried to put Jay Kner out there too, bless
his heart. So all you're dumping on Derek Carr, you're
gonna be probably wishing he was back by the middle
of the season.
Speaker 2 (46:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (46:14):
I don't know, Arnie. I just you may have turned
me here a bit because whatever, whenever I thought that
Derek might get traded or cut or whatever's gonna happen
in New Orleans, I kind of pose the idea of
Aaron Rodgers to New Orleans and everyone kind of shut
me down. Now you start looking at the overall makeup
of the team right still though they the only thing
(46:36):
they really do with their offensive line is draft to
left tackle.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
I mean, is that automatically make them better?
Speaker 2 (46:41):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (46:42):
If Rogers doesn't go there and he does go to Pittsburgh,
I bet you the same still go into the season
with Chuck and Rattler wanted two. I would be willing
to bet they can't do that.
Speaker 5 (46:53):
You think they try to go get who.
Speaker 4 (46:55):
Maybe somebody who's cut. I don't have an answer. Maybe
call the Browns on one of the guys there. Hey,
Brown's million quarterback? Yeah exactly, speaking of the Browns, listen,
I get it. Aggregators. mL Football you always you love
the NFL r MRS website or Twitter feed. Every pass
(47:17):
that Shador Sanders completes in a minute.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
He's a Hall of Famer. Now it's not even being
the preseason Hall of Fame. He's in the pre preseason Hall.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
Of Fame's did you see this pass? I'm like, yeah,
I've got a few showed Dylan Gabriel. He threw one
against no defense. Oh, they gave him, they gave him.
Speaker 6 (47:34):
He was forty eight or fifty five touchdown. Give the
stats though, seriously, they gave stats. They said he's the
only quarterback to have those five touchdowns and back to
back practices, And it was I'm like, is this true?
Speaker 4 (47:46):
How do they know this? Though? I think it's made up.
I just nobody's. Nobody's sitting there keeping track of practice stats.
Number one, because no one's they're seeing one video, they're
not getting to watch all the practice.
Speaker 5 (47:58):
And number two, the reason I brought it.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
Up, I wonder if anyone might be interested in say, hey,
we'll take Deshaun Watson. I will take a chance on him,
because number one, he's not gonna get the same money,
and I know it's guaranteed money, so I'm sure the
the NFL has this crazy thing where dudes have this
incredibly bloated contract and all of a sudden they get traded.
It's like, oh no, we made it work. We made
(48:22):
it work. And I wouldn't be surprised at all if
the Browns just cut him with the way that they're
talking about him. But right, I mean, if we want
a debate last hour, and I know we're going probably
way too deep here in the Saints quarterback situation, but
I mean, is Deshaun Watson gonna be a guy that
someone might say, Hey, bring him in, let's see if
he's got anything left or not.
Speaker 6 (48:41):
OI with a team like the Saints, because they're so desperate,
they really have nobody. That's why I said there's no
way they're gonna go in with Chuck and Ratlers there
are only two quarterbacks. But I still don't think I
would take a flyer on Deshaun Watson. I'd stay away
from that.
Speaker 4 (48:56):
This is a good question for mister nobody, who has
absolutely been on fire tonight, he writes, would in Indiana
making the NBA Finals be a ratings killer if they
made it? Tyrese Halliburton, who who else? Is actually halfway
interesting on that team at least. Okay, see has Reggie
ller Chat and a bunch of young talent who are
very athletic. Yeah, Reggie, Reggie is busy absolutely destroying the
(49:19):
craft of broadcasting instead of playing games anymore.
Speaker 5 (49:22):
Wow, can you listen to him at all?
Speaker 4 (49:24):
Do you like him? I don't.
Speaker 3 (49:27):
I wasn't like thinking he was awful or anything.
Speaker 4 (49:29):
Okay, well he's terrible. I don't know how you can
stand him. I don't, in fact, DP, I don't know
why you put him. I actually maryphrase it. I get
why you put him on because he's a very entertaining interview.
Do you put him courtside calling a game? Oh my gosh,
my ears start bleeding. People make fun of me and
they say my ears bleed. I'm like, I can't take him.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
Well, you're a play by play guy. To me, I
didn't even consider him on being great or bad or
this or that.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
I don't.
Speaker 6 (49:56):
I don't usually go crazy on him play by player
A those guys, they don't bother me at all.
Speaker 4 (50:03):
Okay, Moro sinking genius. Don't buy in on the pacers.
The calves will pacify them all the way to the
Eastern Conference Championship against my Celtics.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
It's three easy on your Celtics.
Speaker 6 (50:17):
It's three games to one now, so somebody better wake
up otherwise they'll be done in the next game.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
Well, I don't know, think about the next game, maybe
game six.
Speaker 4 (50:26):
So I guess you know, I call me maybe a moron,
but pacify them. I mean, they'd have three games to want, moro.
I don't know how much more you want to pacify
them on that front. All right, here's a good one
from Gedup. It's straight and to the point. And you
tell me if you agree. Without Steph, the Warriors are lost.
(50:50):
Agree or disagree.
Speaker 6 (50:53):
They're not gonna win without him, especially in the long
run too. They're never gonna win a seven game series
without him. They're not gonna do the long term win
without it. They could maybe win one game and steal that,
but other than that, there is just not going to
happen for them.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
When did he say they can come back? Maybe game six?
It could be over by then. So I feel bad
for them. They're just not gonna get it done this year.
Speaker 4 (51:16):
I did I miss something somewhere. I was a little
bit thrown off because the first report was Hey, we'll
be day to day and we'll check him out.
Speaker 3 (51:26):
That maybe one game I thought, right.
Speaker 4 (51:27):
And then the second report, and again, like I said,
maybe I missed something somewhere. Was at least through game four.
Then all of a sudden, the most recent report was Hey,
by game six at the earliest, and I'm like, well,
and then all of a sudden was Yeah, that kind
of plays along the timeline. I'm like, did I miss
something somewhere, because that seems to me as if that
(51:49):
timeline keeps growing Arnie as to when he's gonna be
back right, Maybe they weren't.
Speaker 6 (51:53):
Being completely honest with us and we're not understanding the
whole ramifications of this. I didn't understand why it went
from game the game to six. Oh that's the way
I saw the timeline. So obviously it's a lot more
serious than they're letting on.
Speaker 4 (52:10):
And Nature boys also on fire tonight, he writes. I
checked blowouts dot Com and it says the Knicks are
next to be on the wrong side of the box score.
Speaker 3 (52:18):
Yeah, not in game four.
Speaker 6 (52:20):
Game four is actually going to be a close one,
not like Game three where Boston just ran and hit.
That's not going to happen this time. I felt the
Knicks got a bad break.
Speaker 3 (52:30):
On the afternoon game.
Speaker 6 (52:32):
I like when the crowds all liquored up and it's
a night game and everybody's in a frenzy. Also, I
believe the Celtics made a mistake. They were up by
twenty seven points when they intentionally fouled Mitchell Robinson.
Speaker 3 (52:47):
Right, So what does he do? Goes to the line,
makes two.
Speaker 6 (52:50):
I believe that's gonna give him confidence, and that's big
for him to hit two and give him confidence going
into the next game. I'm getting a little worried about
him going to the line. Just absolutely nerve wracking watching
that guy shoot foul shots, you know.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
So let me let me go ahead and make sure
that I'm getting this right. Okay, just just so I'm
clear and i'm play by play. Yeah, to make sure
that I've got this right. Yeah, you're talking about a
fourth quarter free throw? Yes, in a let me see here,
in a twenty point game. Yeah, being the confidence builder, Yes,
(53:26):
you nail. They're right on the on the button there, Bingo.
Speaker 5 (53:30):
Are you when did these free throws happen?
Speaker 3 (53:32):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 6 (53:32):
I think it was in the late third, fourth something
like that. I'm not sure fourth. I think maybe it
was in the fourth. Well it was a twenty seven
point lead, I believe. So this is your savior going
into the next I have.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
Nothing else on game three?
Speaker 6 (53:47):
What do you want me to give you? They blew
us out. It was horrible watching that game. I just
I got ives watching it. I have nothing else for you.
Let's talk about games one and two.
Speaker 4 (53:57):
Arnie, Arnie, I'm seeing here that he made one and
missed one.
Speaker 3 (54:01):
That's close enough. I'll take that, my gosh.
Speaker 4 (54:06):
So oh yeah again, let's reset, just for my sanity.
You're telling me your reason for a hope.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
He didn't make two.
Speaker 4 (54:14):
With twenty seven seconds left in the third quarter, you're
down ninety six to seventy. Mitchell Robinson went to the
free throw line and made one of two. So he
made two, that is your that's your hope. Now he
made But no, here's the thing. Yeah he made two
whenever they were down ninety two to sixty three. But then,
(54:35):
if that's your reason for hope, he went right back
to the free throw line and missed the second one
on the next time down the court. You were really, buddy,
you won the first two games. You don't have to
hold on to Mitchell Robinson going three or four on
free throws late in the third quarter. Man, come on,
it's just for the next game.
Speaker 6 (54:54):
Because every time they follow him and he goes to
the line, I just cringe. It's just put some arc
on the ball. Seriously, stop throwing it at the rim.
Give me a little bit of hark and my goodness,
maybe you'll make fifty percent of them.
Speaker 3 (55:09):
Horrible. He's just he's miserable, and I know he says
he practices. Did you see the twitter he put out today?
No idea, he doesn't care what people are saying.
Speaker 6 (55:18):
Anyone cares about his wife, his kid, basketball and something else. Well,
you better care because you're gonna break the rim the
way you're shooting those free throws. I can't believe nobody's
taught him how to shoot free throws.
Speaker 5 (55:30):
Can we circle back? We're up against it.
Speaker 4 (55:33):
But the whole idea of everyone letting us know how
little they care about sports.
Speaker 5 (55:37):
Have you noticed that Lebron did it?
Speaker 2 (55:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (55:41):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Lebron did it. Now you mentioned Mitchell Robinson.
We've seen it a couple of other places. I'm like,
maybe I get it. We don't want you to live
and die by it. But I mean, at least act
like care a little bit.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
But it's your job for crying out loud.
Speaker 4 (55:55):
Circle back to it coming up. But when we come back,
we got to talk to our buddy Tom Furman numbers
Betscalore next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (56:04):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
All right, it's Arnie and playing comedy live for the
Fox Sports Radio studios. What's up our man, Todd Furman
in Vegas where, boy, we had quite the hockey going
on tonight. Tom. I'm glad you're here. I figured you
might be all about it. That was that was something
else for the old Golden Nights.
Speaker 9 (56:32):
Huh oh yeah. Pretty impressive to battle back in the
face of a two nothing series deficit and to win
an improvable fashion the third latest goal, game winning goal,
I should say, in playoff history, coming with four tenths
of a second to go, So why you play to
the final whistle and the Golden Knights have a little
bit of life with a chance to even up the
series tomorrow night in Edmonton, and he.
Speaker 3 (56:53):
Held on to the puck too to get the goalie
to make a move.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
And they didn't even see it go in.
Speaker 3 (56:58):
Though they now the lookout, they didn't know what the
camera bounced out.
Speaker 9 (57:03):
No, not in real time. And to your point, Arnie
Riley Smith held out of the puck, was extremely patient,
waited for Stuart Skinner to overcommit, and then got a
little bit of help from Leon dry Sidle. Because if
it's not an own goal of sorts, that puck never
finds the back of the net. But as we've seen
so far this NHL postseason, the improbable has become the
problem with a lot of these off the wall, bouncing
pucks that end up in the back of the net.
(57:25):
But I can't sell short the NBA playoffs because they
provided it's fair share of drama just the same.
Speaker 4 (57:31):
Yeah, and we were just talking about that to a
certain extent. There's been dramatic moments the two games with
the Celtics and the Knicks, the big comebacks obviously the
major comeback with the Nuggets. Am I selling it short?
I mean, I think I'm just expecting every game to
be great and that's unfair, isn't it. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (57:46):
I mean, look, it's the NBA Playoffs, So if we
expect every game to be great, we're going to set
ourselves up for disappointment. As we saw with the Indiana
Pacers with a forty one point lead at the half.
That was a game that didn't require you watching for
four full quarters, unlike some of the other games that
we've seen, And it's kind of the nature of the
sport more so than anything else. If you're waiting for
everything to come down to the final seconds, I think
(58:06):
you're always going to be a little bit disappointed. No
different than how we treat the NCAA tournament.
Speaker 6 (58:10):
Todd, I wanted to borrow a trillion dollars in Game
three to take the Knicks plus five and a half.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
Thank goodness you didn't answer your phone.
Speaker 6 (58:17):
But now I feel more confident than ever and betting
a trillion dollars Nicks six and a half this game round.
Speaker 3 (58:24):
No way they get blown out twice. Love the Knicks
plus the points.
Speaker 9 (58:28):
I mean, maybe Paul Pierce would be happy to make
a friendly wager with you. Arnie given to Paul Pierce
how to walk in his bathrobe to the Fox Studios
given his bold drops in the game too. But you
look at the Knicks and it's hard to try and
see them having a chance to really win the series.
I know they have a two to one series lead,
but they are a massive underdog still at this point.
(58:49):
And look, they erased what two to twenty point deficits
in game one end game two, and now we'll see
if they can bounce back and provide a little bit
more resistance on the defensive side of the court and
manufacture all offense if the Celtics are able to hit
their shots from the perimeter.
Speaker 4 (59:02):
I loved seeing Jokic and shifting to the OKC Denver
series giving credit to Oklahoma City's defense because again, I
know I'm a Homer, but I feel like they're the best,
one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, and
they've done a really good job on him. I mean, Denver,
give them credit for the two games they've won. They've
had to hit some tough shots to get it done. Man,
I've really been impressed with Okac's defense, even with some
(59:25):
of the frustrations they've had in games what one and three, I.
Speaker 9 (59:29):
Mean, what they did in the first quarter today with
their season kind of hanging in the balance, holding the
Nuggets to two of twenty two from the floor pretty impressive,
and the youth was served a little bit on the
quick turnaround. Playing overtime late on Friday night and early
tip off today, Oklahoma City clearly had the fresher legs.
But credit to the Nuggets. I mean they fought valiantly to
take a lead and be right in that game from
start to finish. I think a lot of people that
(59:50):
don't follow some of the betting markets to be a
little bit surprised to see the series noted up a
tow apiece, but Oklahoma City enter a pivotal game five
is a ten and a half point favorite and NA game,
and I think it's the kind of scenario where you
look to back the favorite or you stay away. The
bigger adjustments that we've seen have come on the total.
We saw this game in Denver, at least for Game three,
(01:00:11):
two thirty two and a half two thirty three, That
game plays a little bit of bonus basketball, doesn't sniff,
And then of course today we don't even get to
one to eighty with the final score here for a
total of the close to twenty eight. So odds makers go,
you know what, We're gonna make it a little bit
tougher on you dropping that thing down to two twenty
and a half for Tuesday night's tip off.
Speaker 6 (01:00:29):
You know, Todd, going back to what you said, the
Knicks are still a big underdog for the series, yet
throw up two games to one. I got to assume
that people are just what hammering the Knicks money wise.
I mean, how many times do you get to have
a team up two games to one and still get
big odds on something like that?
Speaker 9 (01:00:46):
Oh, I mean, we've seen it before with the Celtics.
I mean it's a team that dug themselves a three
nothing series deficit against the Heat, tried to fight all
the way back and came up just short. But I
think it's hard to ignore that Boston has really dominated
this series. Yes, I know what the score board says
in terms of the Knicks being up two games to one,
but the Celtics have led for more than three quarters
of the minutes that those teams have been on the floor.
(01:01:08):
So if you talk about shooting a regression in the
positive manner for the Celtics, and the fact that Boston
has been a better team on the road then they've
been at home. I'm not going to say it's FATA
compleet that they end up taking this series back to
Boston nodded up at two, but there's a reason that
they are currently a three dollars favorite in this particular game.
But Arnie, if you're looking for a better proposition where
a New York team will be a heavy favorite on
(01:01:29):
the hardway at the Barclay Center, I mean the New
York Liberty. He's sixty two and a half point favorite
in their exhibition against the team from Japan, and that's
why I would have analyzed.
Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
If you're looking for some action, I love that. Circling
back real quick to the NHL. I know you and
I talk a lot about NASCAR. Todd, don't tell me
what happened. I have the race DVRD, but I'm glad
you said.
Speaker 9 (01:01:49):
I'm glad you said something.
Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
I won't bring it up then I was.
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
I was fine, I had I've DVR, but of course
you know I can't stay away from it. I have FOMO,
so I'm following it on Twitter like crazy. But I
promise my wife I wouldn't watch NAST today. But the
hockey markets like I feel like the games are incredibly
compelling and exciting, but in what you see as far
as the handle and the wagering, are we seeing more
(01:02:13):
bet on the games? And is it more on spread,
is it more on the totals? What do you see
when it comes to hockey wagering.
Speaker 9 (01:02:19):
It's a drop in the bucket compared to the NBA.
It's just tougher for a recreational better to kind of
navigate through, navigate through some of these bigger numbers when
you're looking at the Florida Panthers tonight, for example, and
realizing you have to put up two dollars to make
a dollar coming back. You can explore pucklines or play
with totals, but it's just not a sport that translates
from a wagering standpoint as much as traditional ats sports
(01:02:40):
like your basketballs and your footballs in the world. And
it's part of the reason that you don't see a
lot of straight bets coming on Major League Baseball. It
serves a lot more parlay fodder than anything else. The
one outlier, of course, out here in the desert is
Vegas Golden Knights games. Those do a disproportionate amount of
NHL handle and the deeper run that they can make
the sports books really appreciated, even if at the same
time they find themselves typically rooting against the home team
(01:03:03):
as far as futures liabilities are concerned.
Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
Dodd over to the NFL quickly. Derek Carr, First of all,
your thoughts on that retirement? And two, did people say, okay,
now that there's no Derek Carr, I'll bet the underwin
total for the Saints with two rookie quarterbacks on the.
Speaker 9 (01:03:18):
Roster and not much in the way a movement as
far as the win total is concerned. The Saints were
already power rated one of the worst teams in the league,
and when you look at that salary cap situation, everyone
knew they're going through a little bit of a rebuild.
So when you're kind of already towards the bottom, I mean,
the downgrade even from Derek Carr to you know, rookies
fighting for potential work or Spencer Ratler maybe winning the job,
(01:03:39):
you know they're over under it win sits at.
Speaker 7 (01:03:41):
Five and a half.
Speaker 9 (01:03:42):
The bigger move meant that we saw as far as
a betting implication, was concerned with that was Tyler Shuck
going from twenty two to one to an offensive Rookie
of the Year down to as low as ten to one.
I find out a little bit perplexing because I'm not
sure anybody forecasted car to be the starter coming out
of camp. But that's books kind of doing everything they
can to get ahead of some of the liability that
could accumulate. Look, I've seen enough Tyler Shuck as I
(01:04:04):
know you have playing. Arney doesn't watch college football to
know that this guy is not going to come in
and suddenly make Saints fans forget Drew Brees. So I
think there's a little bit of optimism about his skill set.
Durability remains a concern, but yeah, that was the main
takeaway from a gambling side as far as the Saints
were concerned. And then Arnie to your point, when you
ask about winds, totals and the potential movement, Wednesday night
(01:04:25):
will be the telltale sign as guys will look to
try and do everything they can to glean any sort
of intangible edge based on scheduling, spots, cluster situations, and
a variety of the other elements that we try and
put quantitative values on to beat up some of these
wind total markets before a lot of folks have a
take chance to really deep dive.
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
How much will you jump on Wednesday night when we
get the full schedule? Todd? Is it something that you
try you can see and feel like you'll get some
early value with the NFL schedule release.
Speaker 9 (01:04:52):
Definitely a couple of teams that I have my eye on.
Typically I'll gravitate towards betting against human achievement and looking
to bet some of these under so you want to
try and find teams that have difficult schedules early on
are teams breaking in a lot of new pieces to
try and create some of those opportunities that are there.
But I think the best part about schedule release is
we'll finally have numbers that are available for people to bet.
(01:05:12):
All the week one prices will be out there, and
as the NFL leaks games out over the next forty
eight to seventy two hours before the official release, you'll
start to see prices on the international games and a
variety of other things. I mean the NFL for sportsbooks
in general, it is a three hundred and sixty five
day a year business, and any chance that they have
to increase their inventory or give people more product to
(01:05:35):
try and bet they're going to run over men, women
and children to get those numbers.
Speaker 10 (01:05:38):
Song.
Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
As soon as that, I was.
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Just about to ask you, what about the leaks?
Speaker 6 (01:05:41):
When you get a leak, do you you're like, Oh,
I'm jumping on this one now. It's definitely you know,
I can see the way this is going to work
out for this team. I'm jumping on that because there
are leaks. What between, they don't have numbers on them.
If they have leaks, are you just talking about over
under totals potentially?
Speaker 9 (01:05:57):
Yeah. Until you have the full schedule snapshot, it's tough
to really try and do a whole heck of a lot, right,
I mean, you're going to look for teams that are
playing games on short turnaround, you know, teams playing three
games in you know, twelve days or whatever. The ridiculousness
is all of the NFL schedule now are on the
Christmas Thanksgiving holidays. Of course, you know some of the
usual suspects. But until you have everything in front of you,
(01:06:19):
you can't make bold generalizations to try and figure out,
you know, who may have the most difficult first eight
weeks of the season and which teams you think can
benefit off with a soft landing. Before you know, things
will start to tighten up in the second half of
the campaign.
Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
Great stuff, Todd, you're the man.
Speaker 4 (01:06:33):
Can't wait to get all your breakdowns next week on
the schedule and we'll be listening on the bet to
Board podcast.
Speaker 9 (01:06:38):
Always a pleasures, gentlemen. Have a great weekend. I'll look
forward chatting again next Sunday.
Speaker 4 (01:06:41):
Go Nigs, go neigs. Let's go Furman Bet the Board
podcast at Todd Furman on Twitter. Martin Wis is in
the house to make sure we're caught up on everything
that's going on in the world of sports, where it's
all a final.
Speaker 5 (01:06:52):
Take it away, Martin.
Speaker 8 (01:06:53):
The Oklahoma City Thunder one game four, ninety to eighty
seven to tie this series at two games a piece.
J Gilgis Alexander had twenty five point six rebounds in
the win, Nicole Jochic finishing with twenty seven on seven
for twenty two from the floor after a slow first quarter.
The one seed on the Eastern Conference side of things
not so lucky there. The Indiana Pacers beat the Cleveland
(01:07:15):
Cavaliers one twenty nine to one. Oh nine in that
game four, Indiana, led by forty one at the end
of the first half, was out Cleveland uts god in
the second quarter forty two to sixteen. Now takes a
three to one lead in the series. The Pacers due
Donovan Mitchell did not play in the second half due
to an ankle injury he appeared to suffer warming up
after halftime. Benedict Mathern was ejected from this game after
(01:07:40):
punching DeAndre Hunter in the stomach, so we'll see if
any more fallout comes from that. The Dallas Stars beat
the Winnipeg Jets five to two with three third period
goals to.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
Break a two to two tie.
Speaker 8 (01:07:51):
The series now two to one in favor of the Stars,
and the Panthers tied their Eastern Conference series up two
to two with the Maple Leafs after a two to
win over Toronto. That'll rotate back to Toronto for Game five.
After a seven and thirty three start to the season.
They did get the seventh win to Sunday, though they
beat the Padres nine to three. The Colorado Rockies did
(01:08:12):
but Bud Black that'll be his last gaming managers for
the Colorado Rockies after a twenty one and nothing lost
on Saturday. And you know, as you guys were talking
about it earlier, he's managed since twenty sixteen, there's been
so there's been multiple president presidents since then, and he
still was able to hold onto that job, but not anymore.
(01:08:34):
Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts had home runs as the
Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks eight to one. Kylae Swarber had
two bombs as Phillies beat the Guardians three to nothing
on Sunday Night.
Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
Baseball. Back to you guys, Hey, thanks a lot, Martin
Martin wise dates here tonight, I'll be.
Speaker 5 (01:08:51):
Do you want a question? Do you want to hit
tweets here?
Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
Or do you want to go through the slow I
guess you could say burn of the NFL schedule release
because if you happen to see the release that was
sent out by the director of Communications for the NFL.
Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Scheduling, No, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:09:11):
I didn't see that.
Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Okay, So the NFL PR guy, Brian McCarthy, So the
NFL's full schedule is going to be released at eight
pm Eastern on Wednesday night.
Speaker 5 (01:09:24):
Right, But the NFL does this thing where they leak
out game now series up to games that's right, Martin.
Speaker 4 (01:09:33):
There the NFL does this thing where they constantly like
trickle out announcements. You'll have there, I say, breadcrumbs that
are spread out. Now, this isn't Arnie the Twitter feeds
that are like, Oh, here's a game that's going to
be played.
Speaker 5 (01:09:49):
This is the actual NFL giving you a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:09:52):
So NBC will actually announce some games they're gonna have
for Sunday Night football tomorrow morning on the Today Show,
Oh get out of here, And it says that Fox
will release some games it has tomorrow, as will Prime Video.
(01:10:12):
ESPN will release some of I guess the Monday night
football games on Good Morning America Tuesday, and then CBS
and Netflix will do the same thing on Wednesday, with
CBS doing so on CBS Mornings.
Speaker 5 (01:10:26):
Now here's my confusion.
Speaker 4 (01:10:27):
Like Netflix and Prime Video, they don't actually have shows,
so I assume that would be like a social media thing.
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Maybe I'm not sure what they would I'm like, what
are they going to be doing it on? I was
just thinking about that. I don't think it release that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
So the NFL will announce its international games on Tuesday
on Good Morning Football in the NFL network, so on
Tuesday morning. We'll get the international games on Good Morning Football,
and this year's games will include two regular season games
in London featuring the Jets and the Browns as designated teams.
(01:11:03):
One game in Berlin, Germany with the Colts being one
of the two teams. One game in Madrid with the Dolphins.
You guys are going to play at Madrid. Maybe I'll
go to that game. A first ever regular season game
in Dublin, Ireland with the Steelers playing that game. Another
(01:11:24):
game in Brazil this year will feature the Chargers and
the Jacksonville Jaguars will return to Wimbley Stadium in London
to operate a home game as part of their multi
year commitment to playing a game in the UK. So
we're getting the full release on Wednesday. What game has
been released so far on that?
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
Then?
Speaker 4 (01:11:47):
Well?
Speaker 6 (01:11:47):
Yeah, the Eagles and the Cowboys opening up on September fourth, Right.
Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
I didn't know that was the thing out there already.
Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
Unless I'm falling for a bogus account, where did you
see it?
Speaker 4 (01:11:58):
You might be right, I'm just asked.
Speaker 6 (01:12:00):
Says The philadelp Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys of
the twenty twenty five NFL season opener on rumors.
Speaker 4 (01:12:08):
Rumors, Okay, that's what it is. You're going by something
called Ozzie NFL, who was the first one that had it.
I'm not saying it's not gonna happen, but at Ozzy
NFL and is seven seven thousand followers. And then of
course that dove climbing Twitter account jumped all over it.
So that's rumors and in windows right, Okay, okay, but again,
(01:12:31):
like I said, I'm not saying it won't happen.
Speaker 5 (01:12:34):
It might end up being right, but for now.
Speaker 3 (01:12:35):
Yeah, because he's right. It's like it's like he knows.
Speaker 4 (01:12:38):
Of course he is. Who does it at this point?
And listen, you're gonna believe anything you see out there,
just like absolutely.
Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
I already retweeted it.
Speaker 4 (01:12:47):
I better be true. So Monday tomorrow morning on the
Today Show and at some point on Fox and Prime
tomorrow will get a portion of the games that are
gonna be on those.
Speaker 5 (01:12:57):
Networks, or at least a game or two.
Speaker 6 (01:12:59):
Which which morning show is doing the Bill Belichick interview.
Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
I don't think that's happening again, straight hands, they're gonna
do another Belichick interview?
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Straight hand?
Speaker 4 (01:13:13):
Well, that's that's ABC that's Good Morning America. Good excuse me,
Good Morning America. Then it's doing it tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (01:13:19):
I believe any interest in seeing that again at the
bottom board.
Speaker 5 (01:13:23):
Listen, I know that this is not popular. Whit is it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
Friday?
Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Oh it's on Friday. It's not tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Friday's Good Morning America.
Speaker 4 (01:13:31):
That's Ryan Burshing, our producer. Who's failing you out on
information you have? That's wrong?
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
Who is that?
Speaker 4 (01:13:37):
But you did scare me a little bit, Bursch, because
you just said I think it's on Friday.
Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
No, this article says, yes, uh, Friday's Good Morning America.
Speaker 7 (01:13:45):
Is it?
Speaker 10 (01:13:45):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (01:13:46):
From at Ozzy NFL?
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
This one from sports?
Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
Okay, okay take that, even though, yeah, who's doing quite
the AI stuff?
Speaker 5 (01:13:54):
You all got to chill out, man. But so we'll
get a tree.
Speaker 4 (01:13:59):
I guess. I don't know how many games are gonna
tell but on NBC tomorrow, Morning Today Show, on Fox tomorrow,
and at some point on Prime Video tomorrow, we'll get
some games. They're gonna be on those networks, and then ESPN,
ESPN on Tuesday and Good Morning America, then CBS and
Netflix on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (01:14:15):
Star So there you go all over the place.
Speaker 4 (01:14:18):
I'm learning everywhere. All right, when we come back, we'll
hear your tweets next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:14:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports.
Speaker 4 (01:14:25):
Radio Radio, all right, Arenie and playing heading down the
home stretching our number two is there? You know, I
was just looking during the break, Yeah, at the Roman
numeral rundown.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
You didn't get to number ten. I thought that was
a good topic.
Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Well, I mean I was. I was on page two
here from him. See, okay, it was number ten here. Nepotism.
Speaker 3 (01:14:47):
Yeah, we were all over lebron and Bronny, but we
don't say a thing about what's going on in the
NFL with the nepotism.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
Okay, well what are you saying?
Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
Well, I don't think Schylo Sanders is But what about
Dino Tomlin did? What did he get? He's getting to
try out with Tampa Bay. Montego Moss, Randy Moss's son
is getting to try out with Minnesota.
Speaker 4 (01:15:07):
What of him?
Speaker 3 (01:15:07):
Played D two in New Amshire, I believe.
Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
I mean, well that was Montego Moss. Yeah. Who, By
the way, it's pretty good. Do you understand what nepotism is?
Speaker 3 (01:15:18):
Yeah, they wouldn't be getting tryouts if if it wasn't
for who their dads were.
Speaker 4 (01:15:25):
But nepotism is when you hire somebody, as say Arnie
Span you're hiring Shay.
Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
Right but you know, yeah, but like the whole lebron
and brawny thing, that's nepotism. Yeah, well I.
Speaker 6 (01:15:37):
Think what you don't see this happening too with with
Tomlin and Moss.
Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
No, that's not nepotism. You don't think they're gonna make
the team. No, nepotism is whenever, like Arnie would hire
Shay to be on our show, our Bershinger would hire
his brother, or Mary Mack would hire sister brother. That's nepotism.
Like getting a tryout at another team, that's a nepotism.
(01:16:03):
If you want to say they're getting it because like
their name, yeah, that's fine, but it nepotism is whenever
you hire somebody within your own confines of your team
or business.
Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
Based on who they are.
Speaker 4 (01:16:14):
Right, Like if you wanted to get mad about Steve
Belichick being the defensive coordinator in North Carolina, that's that's
at least how I've always viewed. It's like, to me,
that's just you're trying to find a diamond in the
rough and hey, let's go. You know, there's been a
lot of guys' sons who have tried out places and
they don't make the team. I mean, am I wrong here? Guys?
(01:16:34):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:16:35):
I maybe nepotism wouldn't be the right word. But if
they make the team, then, you know, like Bronni made
the Lakers. I mean we were all over Lebron and
Bronnie and I mean everybody was talking about that or
neppartism and you should be on the team, and YadA, YadA, YadA. Yeah,
you know, they don't saything about the tryout for Tom
Winnon Moss.
Speaker 3 (01:16:55):
To me, it's kind of like the same thing.
Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
Well, do you realize how many people are trying out
for NFL teams right now?
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
I understand that, right, I understand that.
Speaker 6 (01:17:03):
I mean, I mean some people would die just for
the tryout, to be honest with you.
Speaker 4 (01:17:07):
Yeah, they and they if they were good enough, they
probably there's I still have yet to find a person
who's like I was good enough for the NFL.
Speaker 5 (01:17:13):
I just didn't get a tryout.
Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
Like they always have tryouts, there's always places where you
could get seen, right, I mean this isn't nineteen eighty four.
I mean, there's videos, there's youtubes, there's the twitters. I mean,
I again, I know that you lived in a world
where you fought and scratched and clawed.
Speaker 5 (01:17:28):
For shade to get those opieties right.
Speaker 4 (01:17:31):
That it's easy as I'm making it.
Speaker 6 (01:17:32):
No, it isn't, because I would have died to have
shake at any opportunity in NHL camp. And there were kids,
you know, very few of them, obviously, but they got
chances too forever, you know, with connections and stuff like that.
They didn't make it there. One kid actually is a
goalie in the NHL. Yeah, I forget, gosh, I forget
(01:17:55):
what he plays for. It was Seattle, I forget who
was maybe Winnipeg, now I'm not sure.
Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
So, Yes, your thought here on this is you're frustrated
because you feel like these guys are getting an opportunity
that they don't deserve, only getting it because their last
name exactly exactly.
Speaker 6 (01:18:11):
And I would have taken the same situation. I would
have loved for my son to go into an NHL camp.
And because I knew somebody from the radio and they
listened to my show, it didn't happen. But I mean,
these guys get the breakbas of who their dads are.
Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
Well, do you change his last name? My dad always
joked that he was going to change my last name
when I was younger to Buck. Because you had Jack
Buck and Saint Louis and you had Joe Buck. You
should have changed his last name to like Arnie Ruff
or Arnie. I mean, Joe Quinnville seems to get a
job every year. Make him Arnie Quinnville, Shay Quinnville. I mean,
(01:18:46):
right there you go. It's like, Isvill's kid? Maybe he
deserves an opportunity here. I don't know, but yeah, I
understand what you're saying. I just I don't know if
necessarily if it's here. We did get this off the
Twitter machine. This is from the Casey Haller. He writes,
no matter how unlistened unlistened to a bowl, which I
like the way he used that he is, there will
(01:19:07):
be no Reggie Miller slander again. I love him when
I hear him am with DP. I love listening when
I hear him give that. Can't stand hearing him call
a game. It's it's almost as if he's interested in
everything but the game. And then whenever it's like it's
the game going on catches him by surprise. I just again,
(01:19:30):
I'm with you, Casey car Hauller. I love him to death.
I grew up a UCLA fan because of Reggie Miller,
Reggie Miller and Peu Richardson Dynamic. Yeah, Campbell got knocked
out of the first round of the NCAA tournament by
Finnis Dimbo and Wyoming.
Speaker 5 (01:19:44):
I cried like a baby.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
I remember that upset, right, But again.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
I just can't do it when he's on a game.
I can't get to the remote fast enough to just
turn the remote down.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
This the Rigardson played for Minnesota too, right.
Speaker 5 (01:19:57):
He played for the Timberwolves.
Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
That's right. But I'll tell tell you what I understand it.
I probably shouldn't have brought it up. I understand Casey
Car Haller. It's a sensitive subject. But just how to
get it out there. And then there's this from Gunner
who writes tell Arnie that the Warriors are done Wolves
in five. Yeah, and I would like to see kat
win because I want the Wolves versus the Knicks and
the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:20:19):
Let us go in his over for that one.
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:20:22):
For the Golden State Warriors, there's no doubt.
Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
And Ann Edwards, I don't really playing all that great either.
It's wild. Hey my gosh, the Power Hour is already
coming up next. Dive into all the big stories and
more of your tweets right here on Fox Sports Radios.
Stick around.
Speaker 1 (01:20:39):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
Die here we go, Final Hour, Power Hour Arnie and playing.
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
Quick Show, Quick Show.
Speaker 4 (01:20:47):
It has cooked. Okay, see even it's series with Denver.
You're in Martin ninety two eighty seven, the thunder one
it pacers destroy the Cavaliers, I mean destroy them, Arnie
to one oh nine.
Speaker 6 (01:21:02):
You know I have a sports book down at the
Dominican Republic.
Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
I'm gonna be visiting.
Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
Of good course, you have a sports book at your hand.
I know that ding in Vermont. It's just completely.
Speaker 6 (01:21:13):
Different when you do it online compared to go on
to the sports book and looking at all the numbers
and the all that stuff that it's completely different.
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
One thing, speaking of gambling, I'm glad you let us
into this. It's aren't even pla. I apologize if you
have this on the Roman numeral rundown. I completely forgot
it because so much of the Draymond Green conversations have yeah,
Roman numeral six, Yes, you mentioned the Draymond Green making
me into the angry black man conversation, or at least quote.
(01:21:45):
I don't even think that's the most interesting thing that
happened with Draymond Green this weekend.
Speaker 5 (01:21:51):
I think him mouthing that to spread is five and
a half.
Speaker 4 (01:21:55):
Oh yeah, I said that to you. Yes, he left
was hilarious, But I don't. I mean, I don't really
know if that's what he's saying. What do you think?
Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (01:22:07):
All right, Well, first on the comment, you're all making
me into an angry black man. To invoke race into
something like this for no reason whatsoever, I feel takes
away the attention from when we really do have a
racial divide.
Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
So I don't like that he's doing that too.
Speaker 6 (01:22:23):
If there was a problem, why didn't he bring it
up on his podcast a long time ago.
Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
Is he still doing that?
Speaker 4 (01:22:30):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
I think he is. I maybe he's taking a break
from it. I'm not.
Speaker 4 (01:22:33):
I would hope so the season's going on, Well.
Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
He's done when the season's going on anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
That makes me so mad. I'm such a and I I.
Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
Don't understand who he's talking to. Is it the refs,
is it the is it the fans, is the media?
Is it everybody out there?
Speaker 6 (01:22:51):
I'm not even sure what he's even talking about, to
be honest with you, I I just think he's making excuse,
you know, for when they lose or he doesn't play well,
to just shoot off and make any excuse out there.
So I'm not really understanding that. Now there was a
clip number two. Now there was a clip of him
(01:23:13):
mouthing five and a half the Lion's five and a half,
and the Warriors were down by eight late in the game,
and they shot a three to make it five. So
that means if you bet against the Warriors, you didn't
cover the spread. If I'm the commissioner, I have to
investigate that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:29):
You know that, don't you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
I do.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
But that's bad optics.
Speaker 4 (01:23:34):
I don't even know. It seems like he says five
and a half. Yeah, but I don't know if you
can definitively say that that's him saying the spread is
five and a half.
Speaker 6 (01:23:46):
Well, I don't know what else he could be talking about.
And the spread was five and a half, and that
is that is bad optics When you're saying the spread's
five and a half, we're down eight, shoot the three.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
We hit the three.
Speaker 6 (01:23:59):
And now anybody that better than Golden State doesn't you know,
doesn't win their bets. That doesn't bother me, right, The
fact is, why is he looking at it? Why are
they shooting at three to cover the spread? I at
least have to investigate that and see if there's any
shenanigans going.
Speaker 5 (01:24:16):
On, because it does.
Speaker 4 (01:24:18):
I mean again, if you haven't seen this yet, it
is one of those tweets that I think kind of
started small from a relatively unknown Twitter account, right it was?
Let me see. I want to make sure because I
always like to go.
Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Am I wrong to say that he has to be
investigated for that?
Speaker 4 (01:24:35):
This tweet started with someone who had twenty five followers.
Oh my gosh, yeah, this that and he apparently because
that's who they gave credit to, you had twenty five followers.
And then let's see here, who is this website that
picked it up? Arena Sports app picked it up and
it's gotten now two point two million views.
Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
Oh jeez, that's all right, But I.
Speaker 4 (01:25:00):
Don't even know if you can say definitively that he's
saying it's five and a half.
Speaker 6 (01:25:04):
Well, you have to investigate it. Now, you have to
look into it and see what he was saying. Was
he talking about the spread? And did they shoot the
three on purpose to cover the spread? All that has
to be talked about now. Yeah, it's because it's not
like there hasn't been shenanigans before involving basketball and other sports.
Speaker 4 (01:25:22):
Yeah. No, absolutely, absolutely, you have to double check everything.
I will say, of all the things we were concerned
about whenever gambling became as everywhere as it is right
sports gambling, legal, wagering at the palm at your fingertips
and the palm of your hand, whichever way you want
to put it. I feel like the checks and balances
Arnie have been pretty good. I mean, you're not gonna
(01:25:45):
get away with anything because sports books don't want to
endanger their business. And it's not you know, you're not
making a deal with Arnie, your Arnie, your bookie or
anything like that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
Right.
Speaker 4 (01:25:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
People have been punished, People have been punished.
Speaker 4 (01:25:58):
People have lost their jobs. I mean, look at the
Alabama baseball coach lost his job. Look at the Iowa
State players lost their opportunity. There's one rule that you
have in college, and I'm sure people like, well we
need to fight that. Well, I think it's okay to
have a rule that you can't gamble on your team.
I think that's fine. You know, you've seen it cost
Calvin Ridley part of his season, if not more so. Yeah,
(01:26:18):
you've got to look into it, right, But what if
he's just being smarty and a smart alec like to
find out that?
Speaker 6 (01:26:25):
Then you'll find out and it's really no big deal.
But if there's something more to the story, which I
don't think there is, but now you're gonna make me investigated.
But if there's more to the story, then he's going
to be in big trouble.
Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
Here's the thing that I find to be interested. Anything
else you want to add to it, because I just Draymond.
Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
Reading about who is he mad about? Over the whole thing?
Though about don't make me into an angry black man,
I'm not following that.
Speaker 5 (01:26:52):
I think just in general, I think it was just
in general.
Speaker 4 (01:26:54):
I think it was just a fairly general conversation, conversation
a fairly general point for him, because I mean, I
know that you can't just say something without there being
something more to it, right, Yeah, I gotta tell you something.
I thought Mark Willard brought up a really good point.
Mark's in the Bay Area and he covers him a lot,
and Ephram was awesome on it. If you missed their show,
(01:27:17):
catch the podcast because it's their final hour.
Speaker 5 (01:27:19):
Ephram was awesome on this topic.
Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
But Mark said he thinks it has more to do
with how people talk to them away from the game,
and how people talk to him, not necessarily on the court,
but how he's painted maybe even outside of the medium,
more on social net social media from fans and stuff
like that. So instead of it being hey, you're doing
this to me as a media, he's saying, hey, fans
(01:27:42):
on Twitter and Facebook or whatever. I don't want what
all he's on, Arnie, I took it from the and
I think Willard was alluding to that as well too.
Does that make it make more sense for being stuff
he's hearing in that echo chamber of social media.
Speaker 6 (01:27:55):
You're getting mad at over what you're reading on social media.
Speaker 3 (01:27:58):
The game I could do.
Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
I could do a three hour show every Sunday about
people hating me on social media. Chris, we would never
we would never talk sports. We could just read bad
tweets that are coming in about me.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
I mean if that's.
Speaker 6 (01:28:11):
Going to trigger you, you're sorely going to be in
big trouble moving here on front media.
Speaker 4 (01:28:19):
Yeah right, I'm just theorizing because it did seem to
come out of nowhere. I think I think I was
watching that whole game. When was that was that last night?
Two nights ago? Everything's running together, like I said, yeah,
and I'm entertained by him. But everything I watch that
he's doing, I'm like, that's foul or that's gonna get
him kicked out of the game. I mean, it's almost
as if there's a great line from the Chappelle Show
(01:28:41):
where they talked about Rick James. And when Charlie Murphy
was talking about Rick James, you know what he said,
Rick James was an habitual line stepper, A habitual line stepper.
Draymond Green is a habitual line stepper. And I don't know,
and I don't know why he acts like a victim.
I don't know why he sits there and kind of
holds his arms out Like why I'm he because you've
done this for a long time and you continue to
(01:29:02):
do it. Your coaches begged you not to do it,
your teammates have begged you not to do it. I
get it, it's part of the or it's part of
who you are. But isn't there a point where you
just dial it back a little bit? And I feel
like he's trying to create something that's not really there
in basketball. I don't know what he's seen in his
DMS and things in that nature. Fine, whatever, but we
don't see that on he So when he says something
(01:29:23):
like that, it makes zero sense to us.
Speaker 6 (01:29:25):
He reminds me a little bit about Richard Sherman when
it was going out to Skip Bay was saying, I'm
a better human being than you. I'm more successful than you.
I feel like that's what Draymond Green was trying to
tell to all of us. I'm more successful than all
of you guys. I'm smarter than all you guys. And
I'm thinking to myself, no, you just you sound bad
(01:29:47):
when you think you're the smartest guy in the room.
And I'm successful in my career, well, congratulations. There's a
lot of people that are successful, successful lawyers, doctors, engineers.
You don't have to be just a basketball player to
be successful.
Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Let me circle back to something.
Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
It's already in plant care on Fox Sports Radio and
while while we get set to kind of transition to
you know, kind of that perception that's being laid out there.
I do want to remind you that this show and
all of our shows and all these hot takes are
available on the Fox on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (01:30:20):
Just search Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:30:21):
In the app, you can stream us live and one
of the newest coolest features is you can select Fox
Sports Radio is one of your presets, kind of like
your radio dial. Be sure to preset Fox Sports Radio
in the iHeart Radio app and it will always pop
up at the top of your screen. You brought up
your boy Mitchell Robinson earlier. Yeah, and what he said
when he was asked about free throws, Yeah, and being
(01:30:43):
better at him? He said, what not that important?
Speaker 5 (01:30:46):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
I don't know the exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
WHOA Yeah, he was pretty much.
Speaker 6 (01:30:50):
You know, if you think that it's not important to me,
you know, my family's important. I don't care what you
guys have to say. My kids are important. And it
was one other thing too, So it was kind of
and my you know, basketball is important to me, but
you know I'm not I really don't care what you
guys have to say.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
Yeah, So with that in mind.
Speaker 4 (01:31:10):
Let's go back to what Lebron James said, Right, I
haven't really lost that much sleep over getting knocked out
of the playoffs. Right, You're like, what are you talking about, dude?
And yeah, I just I feel like, call me crazy,
it's I want you to feel that way. I want you.
I want every athlete to not feel like it's life
or death. But I don't think you should be out
(01:31:31):
broadcasting it. I mean, right, I'm spending a lot of
money to go to a Lakers game. I want to
feel like that the millions you're making that you're invested.
Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
I know you are. But when you're like.
Speaker 4 (01:31:41):
I don't lose any sleep over the ass, no big
deal me, It's just a basketball game. Like, oh, oh okay,
that's fine. But I just don't. I don't want to
be in a position to where basically you're dumping over
my passion for what you do. You know what, we
help make this possible, the Royal wee. I know that
sounds a little bit cocky maybe, but Arnie, I get quote.
(01:32:06):
I'm at a point of my career where I don't
lose sleep over that. How did me and Luca? There's
eight other guys on the floor. I say, great, that's awesome.
Sh don't say it.
Speaker 6 (01:32:16):
There's plenty of alais that say they've not gotten over
some losses till this day. They don't get over losses.
So I don't know why you would say that in
just to show, hey, look at me, look at me.
Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
I'm a great guy.
Speaker 6 (01:32:30):
I don't live all on just basketball, and I can
get over it very easily.
Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
I agree with you. Keep up to yourself.
Speaker 6 (01:32:38):
You don't need to be saying that and everybody looking
at you know like, okay, maybe you don't take basketball
seriously anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:32:45):
Sure, And I get it. There's a whole army of
people that are yelling at their radios right now and
they're saying, dude, come on, chill out.
Speaker 5 (01:32:53):
He can have his life. You're right, you're absolutely right.
Speaker 4 (01:32:56):
But we are in an era where it seems like
everyone wants to do anything but play basketball. I mean,
it's just true. Everyone wants to We got load management
going on in the freaking playoffs. You've got movies and
music and all. That's fine, that's great, but I mean
I'm still invested. I want to see you you care
(01:33:17):
about this game and that yeah, it sucks that you lost,
and yeah, it sucks it you can't make free throws.
I know you got a family, and I know that
you love it, but son of a bee man, at
least let me know that you're invested in this thing
to the point where my anger and frustration over this
can be matched by you trying to at least show
me that it meant something.
Speaker 6 (01:33:36):
Well, that's why we get mad when they're all buddy
buddy to the people on the other team, all friends,
you know what I mean. Oh, it destroys me when
they're like, hey, yeah, he's my boy.
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
On the other side, you know, I'm happy for him.
I'm happy for him. No, well good for you.
Speaker 4 (01:33:53):
Yeah, Well, we got another controversy brewing, Arnie. And when
we come back to the Fox Sports radio studios, I
want to play a little bit of audio because I
guess something awesome that is happening is apparently a problem.
Do you remember back in the day, Well, it's it's
still bad, but where you would get a playoff game
and then like eight days later they would finally play
the next game.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
Yeaes, let're move in this New York Knicks series too fast.
Speaker 4 (01:34:17):
Right exactly? And now people are mad that it's going.
It's like, hey, slow down, these things are going too fast.
In fact, it's reached its zenith. And you know what,
let's just do it here. We got some time here, right, yeah, yeah, time.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:34:31):
First off, let's start with ALFREDY Newman, the head coach
of the Denver Nuggets, David Adelman, who was asked if
the NBA scheduling, all right, let's make this clear. If
the NBA scheduling, Arnie not offense, not defense, But the
NBA scheduling is the reason why the Nuggets have had
(01:34:51):
a bit of an offensive slump. This was David Adelman today.
Speaker 11 (01:34:54):
I'm not gonna say that, you know, I don't want
to say that. I will say that I think both
teams were very hire coming off an unbelievably physical overtime
battle on a late Friday night. So if I if
it affected us, it sure surely affected them as well.
I mean, both of us had super tired legs. So
it was about who's going to make that final run?
(01:35:15):
And we got up eight. I thought we were making
the push, and to their credit, you know, they were
the ones to make the final run, and we made
mistakes late. We can call him mental mistakes, physical, whatever
it was. We didn't play well enough the last six
minutes to win a playoff game.
Speaker 5 (01:35:28):
Great answer, right, that's that's how you.
Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Answer exactly exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:35:33):
I think.
Speaker 5 (01:35:34):
I hope this dude gets the head coach's job. I
like him a lot.
Speaker 4 (01:35:36):
Now I'm embarrassed to admit this, but it did take
me a while to put together that he was, you know,
an Adalman. It's like, wait, isn't there an Adelman that
was a coach? Listen to what Charles Barkley said. All right,
Barkley takes this another step further and basically, uh, he
calls it unfair what the NBA did to the next
I think two things.
Speaker 10 (01:35:56):
One, I thought what the NBA did to them was unfair. Uh,
making them play late Friday night than an early afternoon game.
I thought that was unfair. I truly believe that both
teams had to do it. Yeah, but they got more depth,
they got much they Okay, see got twelve players. Guy, Well,
that's that's remember any younger. But also, the Denver has
(01:36:19):
never addressed their backup center situation or their bench. I
think that's one of the things that hurt them last year.
Because he gave out a gas last year against Rudy
and Big Cat. So I don't think it's fair to
blame everything on a joker, but he has not played
well and I think he's wearing down now again.
Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
I think I think Chuck got a little over his
skis there because the schedule is the schedule in Oklahoma
City had to deal with it as well.
Speaker 6 (01:36:43):
I don't think it's unfair. I just think it gives
one team an advantage. Both teams are doing it. It's
not unfair just one team has the advantage.
Speaker 4 (01:36:52):
Should there be should there be a built in cushion?
In other words, let's say the Knicks played a triple
over time game right on Friday night and then they've
got to turn around and they play that early game
on Sunday like the Thunder and the Knicks did. Should
there be some flexibility to shift start times or move
a game back or do you just deal with it?
(01:37:12):
You just deal with it. You can't.
Speaker 6 (01:37:13):
I mean, the way that you're selling tickets and you're
locked into the to the times and the TV is
so important that you can't.
Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
You can't move it around.
Speaker 4 (01:37:21):
You just have to.
Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
And it's not that big of a deal. It's you
still got like thirty six to forty eight hours, so
it don't make a big deal about it.
Speaker 4 (01:37:28):
And I think what the point was on the NBA
the show with Chuck and Shaq and Kenny was well, listen,
that's great, Thunder have to deal with it. And this
is more on the Nuggets because they never really address
their depth.
Speaker 6 (01:37:41):
Right as Shaq, how we like to play back to
back games, you know, with the with the travel that
they had, even before they had private you know planes.
I think Shaq was lucky to have private planes, but
there was stuff before then you'd be flying with some
of these guys, see them on your flight. Wait, not
when Shack was playing? Okay, how don't.
Speaker 4 (01:38:05):
You think I think you've got to go back to
like John Havlicek for those days. Gosh, all right, ARENI
and playing here Fox Sports Radio Straight to your tweets
and x submissions next right here with Arnie and Plank.

every single piece of news he gets, even if it's fake.
That's at stinking genius. What's the best kind of fake ones?
I think it's my favorite thing is make Arnie I
think that's fake, and his response will always be wouldn't
it be pretty cool if it wasn't. Thanks for Ryan Berschinger,
(01:38:57):
Mary Max in the show, Martin Weiss, great on dates.

Speaker 6 (01:39:24):
I came to the conclusion that our listeners don't go
to the Dominican Republic and don't have go to all
inclusive resorts. I've got like one tweet on advice about
all inclusive again.
Speaker 4 (01:39:37):
You brought these lup three weeks ago too, so I
think you've got a lot of answers last week. No,
not really, not as much as I wanted. Well, okay,
what what are you not getting that you need? You
want to know if it's gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:39:52):
I was looking at the restaurants and they all had
prices on them, right, I'm like, the room service?
Speaker 3 (01:39:59):
Is that free to when it comes all inclusive? Or
do you got to pay extra for the room service?
Speaker 4 (01:40:03):
I don't know. It depends on what kind of all
inclusive you got. I mean it sounds like it's a
Black Friday deal, So I don't know how all inclusive
it is. Sometimes you might go to these places it
say all inclusive, and when you get there you're all inclusive.
It's like, oh yeah, you get a you got blowy sands.
Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
Free coffee, every coffee and all you want.
Speaker 6 (01:40:19):
And I wanted to swim out pool and do I
get to use the swim out pool to swim to
the other pools out there?
Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
I don't know. Yeah, I mean absolutely don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:40:28):
Do you have no idea?
Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
I have no idea. I've never been before in Oklahoma.
I take my vacation. Well I better I go to Branson. Okay,
that's a vacation that is true. All right to the
Twitter machine. Here's what you guys have so far tonight.
Here's three quick ones on Draymond Green. Draymond Green is
a selfish hockey style bum. He does what he wants,
(01:40:51):
doesn't care about anyone else. Kicked two people in the
man parts alone in the twenty sixteen playoffs. Geta. I
think Aimon learned all his unhinged behavior from one person.
Tom is Oh boy, tom Izzo can't get pretty out
of control on the sidelines. That's an unhinged dude. Uh.
(01:41:13):
And then there's James who writes Dre is literally out
of control. He should have been suspended for a year
after punching JP. I did it funny how that just
kind of went away and.
Speaker 5 (01:41:26):
Jacked Jordan Poole in the jaw.
Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
I mean knocked him cold. I don't know if he
knocked him out or not, but punched him in the
face during a practice and legit, everyone's like, oh, yeah,
you know, I guess that happens.
Speaker 6 (01:41:39):
That's worse of what Latrell Spirwell didn't choke it as coach,
and we still talk about that.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
It's, you know, he choking.
Speaker 4 (01:41:46):
I think I think he got suspended for what maybe
a half. It's like, hey, you know what you punched
Jordan Pool. No one really likes him anyway, so you're
suspended a half. Uh Perrito Rights. I think the word
arty is he called you Artie. I think the word
Arnie is looking for is quid pro quo. Hey do
me a favor and I'll catch you later type of
(01:42:08):
a deal. Is that what you were thinking with with
Moss and Tomlin and Chador but the other standards not Shiloh.
Speaker 3 (01:42:15):
No.
Speaker 6 (01:42:15):
I actually think he's going to make the team and
be productive and be a pretty good football player. So
I think he actually deserves the shot. Sud Right, Shador
the brother.
Speaker 4 (01:42:30):
Yeah, buddy, have you watched him?
Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
You don't you don't think he's going to make the team.
Speaker 5 (01:42:37):
No, I don't think he's terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
So you know, all three are just getting a checked.
Speaker 5 (01:42:42):
I think your door is pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:42:43):
I think Shador is going to make a roster.
Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
I agree with that.
Speaker 4 (01:42:47):
I think I think that if you want to try
to get into your nepotism attempt or quit great quid
pro quo whatever the smart guy said on Twitter, then yeah,
Shallow is definitely an example of that. I mean, really,
he didn't get your no. Yeah, I know that. I
know he was terrible the East West Shrine game. There's
there's video out there of him getting smoked. He was
(01:43:07):
literally a backup. Well he played a lot of snaps,
but he was he was not the star of their secondary.
I mean, oh, did you see speaking of cool stories,
because if we're gonna sit here and dump on the Sanders, sorry,
coach Prime. Did you see the Travis Hunter picture from
the airport? I did. I thought that was awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
That was He seems like such a great guy, does
he not? Or what?
Speaker 4 (01:43:28):
When you heard Jeff Schwartz tell his story about Pack
twelve Media Days a couple of years ago, when Schador
in a room where no one was came in on
his cell phone on a FaceTime call, wouldn't wait one
minute for an interview, and then Travis Hunter sat in
there and talked the ball with him for like thirty minutes.
And you see kind of how he's acting with Jacksonville.
I mean, do that I kind of like the vibes
(01:43:48):
around him, right, I do?
Speaker 7 (01:43:50):
Well.
Speaker 6 (01:43:50):
I like him period. I've always liked him, and not
just as a football player. You could tell he's the
stand up guy. I just love his look. I just
have everything about him. I think he's going to be
a superstar. Jacksonville got that pick. They got the right pick. There,
there's no doubt.
Speaker 4 (01:44:08):
Nature Boy, nature Boy rights. I know you probably won't
talk about hockey. And he makes this specific because he
says ice hockey. But how about an honorable mention tonight
for the Vegas Golden Knights scoring a goal with under
a second left in the game to put the dagger
in the Oilers in their annoying fans.
Speaker 3 (01:44:30):
Oilers are still up what two to one?
Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
And are they annoying fans?
Speaker 6 (01:44:35):
And admitted that I didn't know that's their I neither, Yeah,
I didn't know that was their thing.
Speaker 4 (01:44:40):
I know they always take the games out of the playoffs,
so I can't stand him.
Speaker 6 (01:44:43):
Anyway, somebody sent us a tweet, did they not? Did
you see that about all the disappointed it was?
Speaker 4 (01:44:51):
It was nature Boy? Yeah, yeah, it's great, it's great.
I love it. I love that.
Speaker 2 (01:44:56):
Mister.
Speaker 5 (01:44:57):
Nobody's been on fire tonight. He writes.
Speaker 4 (01:44:59):
The Rockies were fun before they started cooking their baseballs,
putting them in humidors or whatever that, and they stopped
bringing in people who could hit Andres Galaraga, Dante Bischett,
Larry Walker were awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:45:13):
That was a long time ago, though, wasn't it.
Speaker 4 (01:45:15):
Hold on, Nett, I can almost remember that entire Rockies lineup.
I want to see how long ago it is, because
in my mind it feels like it was only a
couple of years ago.
Speaker 3 (01:45:26):
I was gonna say, like twenty years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:45:28):
You're right, goodness, Larry, Oh my god, do you know.
Do you know Larry Walker's first year with the Colorado Rockies.
I don't think.
Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
I don't think.
Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
I'm very happy that I went and looked this up
because it makes me realize how long it's been since
they've actually been relevant. Yeah, by Larry Walker won his
first batting title in nineteen ninety eight, So you're going
back to two thousand.
Speaker 3 (01:45:54):
I was gonna say two thousand.
Speaker 4 (01:45:56):
Well, hold on here, Larry Walker's first year with the
Colorado Rockies was nineteen ninety five.
Speaker 3 (01:46:04):
Wow. Wow, thirty years ago. So not even twenty years ago.
It's like thirty years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
You know how old Larry Walker is. And by the way,
I'm not knocking on he's one of my just pointing
out how long it's been since the Rockies were like, awesome. Uh,
he's fifty eight years old? Oh my yes, what is
going on here? What is going on?
Speaker 5 (01:46:23):
Thank you mister nobody. Uh, let's see here by.
Speaker 6 (01:46:26):
The way, just just a quick thing, sure on being old?
Did you see the video of George Clooney that somebody
ran into George Clooney on the street. I think it
was a Manhattan but I'm not sure, and took a
video of him. Did you see that video?
Speaker 4 (01:46:39):
No? What was wrong with him? Oh?
Speaker 6 (01:46:42):
My goodness, man, he looked old, I mean really old.
There might be something wrong with him medically. I don't
want to say anything like discouraging, but he he looked really,
really old. And that's George Clooney used to be the
best looking guy on the face of the planet.
Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (01:46:59):
Uh mang right, talk anything tonight. But NBA boys snooze fest.
I don't want to say what he wrote next, but
let's just say he'd rather be around large people than
watch the NBA. Has it been that unwatchable?
Speaker 3 (01:47:16):
No, I don't know what he's talking about.
Speaker 6 (01:47:17):
I mean, yes, there's been some blowouts, and I mean,
how many people watch the pacer game from start to finish?
Speaker 4 (01:47:24):
Today.
Speaker 6 (01:47:24):
Even if you were a Pacer fan, you probably didn't
watch it from from start to finish.
Speaker 4 (01:47:28):
No, it was well, if you're a Pacers fan, you
probably could because you were blowing up on that front.
Speaker 3 (01:47:34):
You're feeling good, Yeah, you're feeling great after.
Speaker 4 (01:47:36):
That Keaton rights. Should the Chiefs trade Mahomes for two?
A straight up no. You don't want that deal, do you?
You don't want that deal because that's your quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:47:44):
I'd have to think about that. I'd have to think
about that.
Speaker 4 (01:47:48):
UCLA Dodger Frank, Right, Arnie, Now that Boston has won
a game, what's your level of concern on a scale
of one to ten for your knicks.
Speaker 6 (01:47:57):
I'm not concerned. I mean it's like a five. I'm
still okay with it. I yeah, sure, I would have
liked to take that game, gone up three to nothing
and ended the series, though it still wouldn't have been over.
Nobody's ever come back from that. But I'm okay. I
still think we take the next game, go up three
to one. We're still in control, but we have to
we have.
Speaker 3 (01:48:15):
To take game four. There's no doubt about that. We
have to take game four.
Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
And are you looking at Game five? The same way
for the thunder Nugget Series.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
No Game five in Oklahoma City.
Speaker 6 (01:48:28):
But no, I'm not because you never know that they
can always come back and take two in a row.
Speaker 4 (01:48:32):
Tennis data, right, Shador Sanders throwing a football over a
mountain was the biggest story of the week, according to
one possibly over served Browns fan. Yeah, you guys, I
can show you some pretty incredible videos of quarterbacks and practice.
Speaker 5 (01:48:51):
That'll never see the field.
Speaker 3 (01:48:53):
Do you have the stats from that? Remember? I said,
did I send you the stats of Shador?
Speaker 7 (01:48:57):
Was?
Speaker 3 (01:48:57):
Somebody was that real stats?
Speaker 4 (01:48:59):
Or what? Arnie? What nobody is keeping stats in practice?
Somebody was?
Speaker 3 (01:49:04):
I said that to you.
Speaker 4 (01:49:05):
Yes, he didn't send it to me. I did.
Speaker 3 (01:49:08):
I retweeted it.
Speaker 6 (01:49:09):
Somebody said he had like five touchdowns and had all
these stats on him.
Speaker 4 (01:49:14):
I don't know if anybody is keeping stats in practice
A they're lying. Be their loser. You never sent it
to me, all right, And if you buy into said stats,
then you're a crazy person because it's just not real. Now,
do I think that there's a really good chance that
(01:49:35):
youa door Sanders is going to have a good camp
and play well in the preseason and make the Browns.
Absolutely absolutely, Arnie. Do I think that he's breaking records
in practice and doing things that have never been done?
Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
No, well, here's here's what I have what I was
looking for.
Speaker 4 (01:49:54):
Where'd you get it from?
Speaker 6 (01:49:56):
Some guy named Steven? But he he's got video of it.
So there's video video of one highlight.
Speaker 3 (01:50:05):
It says here Shrador Sanders just through the ball eighty
one and a half yards in the air.
Speaker 4 (01:50:11):
Well, I mean that would have broke because that would
have broken the general record held by Baker Mayfield at
seventy and a half.
Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
So he said he broke the record by eleven yards.
Speaker 4 (01:50:22):
Okay, so that's completely different than what you said you
saw stat wise on I did. I still looking for
that one.
Speaker 6 (01:50:27):
But the one, the one that I saw said he
had five touchdowns and he was like forty eight to
fifty or something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:35):
No, I'm serious, this is my job. I saw it somewhere.
Speaker 4 (01:50:39):
So far, you have retweeted Ozzy, NFL having the Eagles
and the Cowboys and the opener. Yeah, let's see what
else have you fallen for this week that the Chiefs
and the Chargers are going to play in Brazil during
Week one of the NFL season. Oh, is that is
that false?
Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Did I get that one wrong?
Speaker 4 (01:50:55):
I don't know. It is interesting though, that the story
coming out of Pro Football Talk tonight, Now, this was
a good retweet that the Chiefs didn't protect Are the
Chargers didn't protect their Chiefs game from being picked for Brazil? Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
I was looking for that story.
Speaker 4 (01:51:12):
Yes, that is interesting, But the league has reportedly picked
the Chiefs to be the Week one Friday night opponent
for the Chargers. The Chiefs game was not one of
the two home games that the Chargers chose to protect, which, again,
you could look at one of two ways. Number one,
they're tired of having more Chiefs fans in their stadium
than their own fans they play in LA or just
(01:51:35):
maybe trying to get them off on the wrong foot,
getting them out of their own element to start the
season and taking the Chiefs overseas.
Speaker 5 (01:51:43):
I think that'd be a great opening game on a
Friday night, right.
Speaker 6 (01:51:47):
Oh, that'd be awesome. I can't wait. It would be fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:51:50):
Do you know what network that the Knicks are on
Tomorrow night? All right? I guess now tonight? Do you
know what station it's on? Because I gotta tell you.
I know, I make fun of people that can never
find out what station a game is on, Right, I'm
so damn confused with the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:52:07):
It's on ESPN, Oh it is.
Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
Yeah, Nick's second round last three seasons on ESPN, they're
oh to eight on T and T there's seven and one.
Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
Yeah, I'm a little nervous about that. I said, yeah,
I saw that's that. That does bother me a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:52:23):
Good luck.
Speaker 3 (01:52:23):
I gotta break that it once. We gotta break it
sooner or later.
Speaker 4 (01:52:26):
Yeah, like it's Steve, He's Stephen Scuba, Steve for two.
You're counting on here with all of yours.
Speaker 6 (01:52:36):
I'm telling you there was another. I can't find the
five touchdowns forty eight to fifty. I can't find said
the second time that he had five touchdowns. Nobody's ever
done that. I think somebody's probably making that up.
Speaker 4 (01:52:48):
This guy literally in the next tweet set. For those
of you that are thinking it wasn't eighty one and
a half yards, it clearly was.
Speaker 5 (01:52:54):
I witnessed it live.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
Come on, dude, I don't believe it was eighty one
and a half yard.
Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
It wasn't.
Speaker 3 (01:53:01):
It was it, but there's video of it. I just
can't tell. I can't tell.
Speaker 4 (01:53:06):
It's not even close to being an eighty one and
a half yard throw.
Speaker 6 (01:53:10):
It didn't look like it was eighty one for this crack,
like I said, But wouldn't it be great if it
was true?
Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:53:18):
Every single thing that he ever sends me, Man, I
don't think that's right, Arnie, Hey, would it be great
if it was? Yeah? A lot cooler? Yes, yes, it
absolutely what. I don't think that's real. I want to
welcome you, because.
Speaker 6 (01:53:30):
Artie, I have already I have ocean from property in Arizona.
You want to buy it because apparently you will believe
anything on the internet.
Speaker 4 (01:53:38):
So that's a gunny, man, that's good. The only thing
higher than the price on that ocean front property in
Arizona might be gunny as far as that's concerned. I
had one more, Ryan asked.
Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
Famous Jamis back in New Orleans? Why not?
Speaker 4 (01:53:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:53:53):
I gave him the like on that one. That could
be a possibility. I I think that would be actually
a good possible for them.
Speaker 4 (01:54:01):
The way that Saints fans talk about Jameis Winston, you
would think that he led them to a Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (01:54:10):
I mean, I'm not the way he talks about himself,
you would think that he led them to a super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:54:16):
I mean, I guess I get it, But do you do?
You know what Jameis Winston's record is as a starting
quarterback with the New Orleans Saints. In the span of one,
two three in four years, he started seven ten games,
He's six and four. So maybe they're onto something there, Arnie,
Maybe they're maybe they're on to something.
Speaker 5 (01:54:35):
He was two and five as a starter in.
Speaker 4 (01:54:37):
Cleveland last year. Gosh, that's not bad. Actually, well if
you think about it for what Cleveland was last year, Hey,
maybe that is not too bad. All right, when we
come back to Fox Sports Radio studios, you know what's next.
You know what you all came forward to. Yes, it's
Arnie's picks to take us home on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:54:58):
You're listening to Fox.
Speaker 4 (01:55:01):
Great job tonight, Mary Mack. You're awesome. Uh, Bush's been
fun to hang out. I haven't talked much to Night
during the breaks. I've been busy trying to clean up
my studio, Arnie, trying to make it nicer. Thanks as
well to Martin Weiss, because Arnie apparently gave to.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
The night off.
Speaker 6 (01:55:18):
Now he's done and I'm off next Sunday, even though
I'm not leaving to the Dominican Republican until Monday.
Speaker 4 (01:55:25):
Well that's tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:55:27):
No, a week from Monday.
Speaker 4 (01:55:28):
Oh, a week from monday. So what are you gonna
do all week? Your wife's making you miss him on
next week, then, isn't you.
Speaker 6 (01:55:33):
I'm no missing it because we have a six thirty flight.
We'd have to leave to the airport at like four
four thirty. And I'm you know, I'm not gonna get
an hour sleep.
Speaker 3 (01:55:44):
I'd have to be up all night. We mean, what,
well all at once. I didn't hear what you said.
Speaker 2 (01:55:51):
What leep on the plane?
Speaker 6 (01:55:53):
No, I'm not gonna sleep on the plane. It's a
four hour flight. I'm not gonna sleep on the plane.
I'll be all gross when I get there and be
all crabby, And I can't have that.
Speaker 2 (01:56:03):
You're already grabby when you don't.
Speaker 6 (01:56:05):
I know that, I know that, but but but you
know if I went the better two, i'd have to
get up at three thirty.
Speaker 3 (01:56:10):
That's not worth it.
Speaker 5 (01:56:12):
Just stay up.
Speaker 3 (01:56:14):
Oh that would kill me. Man, get out of here.
Speaker 4 (01:56:16):
Arnie's like fifty five now, ninety thirty eight, thirty eight, Well,
then you should be able to if you're thirty eight,
you can still be able to do that. You're leaving,
you're taking you're taking next week off, not because you're
leaving and you're on vacation. You're not leaving until you're
going on vacation Monday. More next week.
Speaker 3 (01:56:35):
Yeah, I need I have to catch my flight.
Speaker 4 (01:56:38):
I work, I know I work. Just do I get
You always get to pick who fills in? Do I
get to pick? Or have you already chosen who's filling in?
Speaker 3 (01:56:46):
I have not chosen. I was hoping. I was hoping
to pick Tom Brady to do this show.
Speaker 4 (01:56:50):
I was hoping to just go solo. Me and Steve
saybe you have to say you harry max is Ian
back next week? Do we know? Just go solo? Ian
Roy don't know him. I'm down for it?
Speaker 10 (01:57:04):
Is he?
Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
Let's ever heard of him?
Speaker 4 (01:57:05):
Did we get to make that call?
Speaker 2 (01:57:06):
All right?
Speaker 4 (01:57:07):
Before you get your picks? Roman Numeral rundown two things
I didn't get to that I wanted to. Yeah, Roman
Numeral seven. You claim I didn't text you back this week,
which is untrue. But when you texted me about Steven A.
Smith's character getting killed on Lawn Order, I think that's
the happiest I've ever heard you before, because that's your show,
(01:57:29):
and whenever a sports guy shows up on your show,
you had to be pretty fired up.
Speaker 6 (01:57:33):
Called me completely by surprise, had no idea that he
was going to be on, and then they showed him me.
Speaker 3 (01:57:39):
He did very good job, I got. I gotta give
him credit, a very good job acting job on it.
And then later on in the scene he was dead
and you didn't you know, you could look at him
and he wasn't breathing or anything. He probably had to
hold his breath or something. But great, he did a
great job. I thought it was fantastic.
Speaker 4 (01:57:57):
I can barely hold my breath anymore, so I would
imagine how to be terrible playing a dead body. And
then finally, Roman Numeral here thirteen. Why in the world
did you send the rundown out on Saturday morning? Were
you thinking it was Sunday or no vacation?
Speaker 3 (01:58:13):
I wasn't thinking it was Sunday.
Speaker 6 (01:58:15):
I was just so excited for the Knicks game, and
I was writing out the show, and I'm like, I
would have taken a nap before the Knicks game, and
I better send the topics over the play for whatever reason,
I have no idea.
Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
I panicked.
Speaker 4 (01:58:28):
I'm gonna tell you it was a top five panic
moment because I was pretty pretty sure that I completely
lost track of days. Well, anyway, it's been a fun
show so far, but let's truly bring the juice to
wrap it up. No limp And did the finish line
here at his time for Arnie's Picks. Take it away,
stinking genius. Right.
Speaker 6 (01:58:45):
We got the games on Monday, My Knicks and the
Boston Celtics, Knicks up two games to one. Celtics a
six and a half point favorite in this one. I
don't want the points. I don't need the points. I'll
take the points. Give me, give me the Knicks plus
(01:59:06):
six and a half. They win the game though one ten,
one oh seven. Okay, Knicks win by three over Unders
two oh eight, so take the over in that one.
Speaker 3 (01:59:21):
Knicks will get back on track. I feel good.
Speaker 6 (01:59:23):
Timberwolves and the Warriors Minnesota five and that point favorite.
I think they get to win here and go up
three games to one. So I mean the Knicks will
be up three games to one and in Minnesota will
be up three games to one.
Speaker 2 (01:59:38):
Not that.
Speaker 6 (01:59:40):
Let's get over to Tuesday, Cavaliers six and a half
point favorite over the Pacers.
Speaker 3 (01:59:46):
They hold court, they win this game, I'll lay the
six and a half. It will be three to two.
Speaker 6 (01:59:52):
Pacers win it in six, and that leaves OKAC the
Oklahoma Sooners against the Nuggets something like that. Well, I
don't want to call them the Thunder. I think they'd
be better if they were the Oklahoma City Sooners. Oklahoma
City ten and that point favorite. Did you hear what
I said? Yeah, give me Denver plus the ten and
(02:00:15):
a half. Oklahoma City wins the game, though, and goes
up three games to do. So there you have my picks.
Do with them as you please, no longer strictly for
entertainment purposes only.
Speaker 4 (02:00:25):
So you're just gonna continue to ignore that they're the
Oklahoma City Thunder. Continue to call them the Sooners. Think
that that's okay western nickname. You think that's okay.
Speaker 3 (02:00:35):
Oklahoma City Sooners. I think it's a good name.
Speaker 4 (02:00:38):
This is why we don't get weekday fillings. All right, Wow,
have a great vacation. Thanks you so missed. Next week
I'm sure I will be. I'm sure I will And
that means lying Big Ben Mallard is coming up next,
so again, shout out great job tonight. Mary mack awesome
is always going to hang with Ryan Berschinger from Martin
(02:00:59):
y Span Your I'm Chris Plank. I'll see you back
here next Sunday night right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Stick around for Ben
