Speaker 1 (00:01):
You don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go, stinking genius, go big boy, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
How are you? How are you? You had a little
extra shift last night?

Speaker 4 (00:11):
Huh Yeah, you know, I.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Just figured out a lot to say, so I just
scheduled myself on Saturday and got at it.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Lots going on in the world of sports. I'm good.
I'm feeling good today, my friend.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
So you set the schedules.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Now, who do you think does for grind out loud?

Speaker 5 (00:27):
So you literally sit down and don't schedule me any
extra when you set the schedule, it hurts a little bit.
Not gonna live.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
You never told me you wanted extra shift. Sometimes I
put you there.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Sometimes, Well we are.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Times we're loaded tonight, and I know it's a very
interesting night because it starts what used to be this.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Incredible dead period in sports.

Speaker 5 (00:46):
Yeah right. We're both old enough to remember when the
All Star break would come around, Everyone's like, oh gosh,
All Star break, man, what are you guys gonna talk about?

Speaker 2 (00:54):
We're gonna review the AFC East today.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
And everyone was always so it's like, oh man, you
guys gonna be okay. You don't have much to talk about.
But anymore with a NonStop twenty four to seven nature
of the NFL, right, I mean, we've got we got
news galory to get to from the NFL tonight with
the with college football, we had big twelve media days
last week. SEC media day start this week. They start

(01:19):
in fact tomorrow. I feel like the NBA, not necessarily
with the summer league games, but Cooper flag reaction, the
Lebron saga, I feel like it's taken center stage and yeah,
there is baseball to talk about. I don't know, It's
not like I'm sitting here defending the sports world, but
it's it's not like there isn't anything to talk about,

(01:39):
and we acted like it for the longest time.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Oh, I already would go to talk about.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I gotta say this, This is how much I love football,
and this is bothering me. And I don't know why
it's bothering me, but it is bothering me.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
Okay, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
It just goes to show you how much I got football.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
One of the local media guys in Tucson, and I
think I said to the story about eight guys doing
simulation seasons. One guy did a simulation game and had
us losing the first game the Hawaii thirty one to
twenty eight, and it bothered me. I tell my wife, look,
we already lot the first game for grind out loud.
We're gonna We're gonna lose the Hawaii And I'm like, oh,

(02:13):
it was I couldn't sleep. I go if we lose
the first game, the season's over. Flike's gonna give me hell,
I can't do the rest of the show like that.
And it was just bothering the hell out of me.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
And it was a simulation that was bothering me.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
It wasn't one simulation, No, Arnie, Like, what are you doing? Nine?
What is that? What's the statement or not the station?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
What's the newspaper?

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Was it the Tucson Citizen or something?

Speaker 5 (02:37):
What are you guys doing? What are you guys doing?
Nine different season simulations? So that way you could say,
got one right, got one right.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
But you know what if somebody at Oklahoma losing the
first game, it would bother you.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
You go get out of here.

Speaker 5 (02:52):
Oh absolutely well, first of all, they should be fired
from their job because I think Oklahoma's first game is
Illinois State and there's no way they're gonna lose that.
But yeah, I I don't know, dude. I just I
feel like that every little thing now can be I'm
not breaking news here, but content. You just brought up
reading an article about nine different simulations on the Arizona

(03:14):
wild and every.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
One one out as good has had as like one
and eleven or something.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
Right, Yeah, one of imagine like what eight and four
I think, which was pretty good, and then one of
them had five and is five and seven, and everything
was was down from there. I will say though, I
did find it pretty fascinating that with SEC media days
coming up. You know, I'm an SEC guy now, Yeah, Arnie,
I'm a year in now, so I'm kind of like

(03:40):
I've been knighted in. I'm good to go.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
You're you're hanging out with the cool kids now.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
That's right. They are infatuated with quarterback rankings in this
league right now.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I don't know. I don't know what it is.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
But if there is a publication out there, they have
given you their top ten quarterbacks in the SEC at
least on five different occasions this offseason. So I'm just
I don't know about you. I'm pretty ready for football
to get here.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I'm ready to go.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
I always said football starts when the Hall of Fame
game gets under way. So that I mean that's this month, okay,
so another what to two.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Plus weeks or something like that.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
So when that, when that happens, it's officially football season
and we can get all geeked up about it.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Thirty first, the free season, I mean, and if you
want to every.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
One a week, did I have a good preseason last night?

Speaker 5 (04:30):
In fact, that last year was second time in the
last four years where you just quit picking preseason games
because it was going so poorly.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
That means I'm gonna have a really good one this year,
a really good one.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
I like the way that you're thinking, Arnie. I like
the way that you're thinking.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
But as of today, we are forty one days away
from that week zero, the first week of the college
football season. Forty one days, I mean, it's here, We're
forty eight days from the first full Saturday of college football.
And then in that, well would that be forty eight
and then you have the NFL on that Thursday night,
So forty eight carry the one like fifty four to fifty.

(05:08):
It's it's slowly but surely getting here. But I can't
believe I'm gonna do this. I did want to jump
real quick because I know it's going to be a
very Lebron heavy and NBA heavy first.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Hour, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
I'm surprised you weren't crullling more on Roman numeral number nine.
I'm surprised you didn't feel more vindicated about the science
teacher being questioned by a former player.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Surprise me a bit.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
The Asante Samuel quote I sent to you that earlier
in the week that is now. Is that the second
or third player that has come out against him?

Speaker 4 (05:38):
I don't remember. I know it's at least a second,
it may be the third. Chris it. You know, I
didn't have proof that something was wrong.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
You can just feel it. You can just look at
what's going on. You can just see him on the sideline.
And every time we do the show Sunday night, I
would go, What's what's going on with this guy? Is
he teaching somebody chemistry or something. He's like a tutor
out there, and now now we're seeing he's in over
his head. One player, at least the third time I
said that when he was dealing with him, that he

(06:11):
was a numbers guy. You know, nobody ever thought of
him as a coach. So he this is his last year.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
You know that. Don't you think he's done? Oh?

Speaker 5 (06:20):
Absolutely so, then you obviously have got to pick him
to finish like third or fourth in the division.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Well, he's if he doesn't win, it's his last year.
I don't know if he's gonna pull it off. They'll
have to do it in spite of him. He'll have
to make some adjustments. But this is this is it.
If he doesn't get it done, if he doesn't win
at least like two playoff games, they'll end up getting
rid of him and they'll move on from him.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Well, hold hold on pause. If they don't win two playoff.

Speaker 4 (06:46):
Games, yeah, they have to go to The Dolphins won.

Speaker 6 (06:48):
A playoff game in the twenty first century, so winning
one would be a pretty big, pretty big player.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
I was gonna say, if he gets to the playoffs already,
I think he's going to keep his job.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
No, that's not good enough any more.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
It's like for you, it's like the New York Knicks
they fired Thibodeau even though they got that far the
Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
It's that is a good point.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
Yeah, that is a good player.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Yeah, damn right, it's fair so he's got to put
up a big year.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
By the way, I got vindicated twice.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Now, oh yeah, you saw that little thing I sent
you about Tua.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
I don't know. You send me so much stuff and
don't give any context to it throughout the day. Right,
it was two ways the only quarterback with a one
hundred plus passing rating in each of the last three seasons.

Speaker 4 (07:32):
Yeah, you're seeing you. You know used to make fun
of me too, right, you know, to play every game? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Yeah, So I'm vindicated with the coach. I told you
that the coach is lousy, and it turns out he
is lousy and he's in over his head.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
I like, aren't he sitting here bashing his coach? But
yet when we come to pick, he'll still have them
going to the playoffs and maybe even to the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
But the but the coach is terrible.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Well they went in spite of him. Chris, How many
times are you are you telling me that any Sunday
show from last year or the year before and pull
up when we start talking about the Dolphins, what's the
first thing I say?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
I mean, this is nothing new. This is what I've
been screaming about for like two years.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
You always tell us they're incredible and they can't be
beat and they're going to the super Bowl. And now
you're gonna blame the coach.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
You're damn right, I am. I mean, who else am
I gonna blame? I gotta blame somebody.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
Well, quarterback would be a good place to start. Maybe
he gets hurt Leicester Defense.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
When he gets hurt and shows you what happens when
he's not around.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
Well, it's Ouradyn Plank when we're coming sports radio. Ian
Roddy is our producer, Mary Max running the show, and
the ones who too has got tons of great audio
from the final day of baseball before the All Star
Break hits and now Disagre has said this last week.
I just want to confirm if the Sager is around?
Is he around Ian or is he out and about?
Oh yeah, he's here, Okay, Steve. Are we wearing the

(08:54):
regular uniforms in the All Star Game? This is correct?

Speaker 7 (08:56):
Right, Not in the home run derby, not right practices,
but game.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
That makes me.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Pretty excited, just like the all day old days.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Man.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonna feel like it's Freddie Lynn
hitting a grand Slam off Atlee Hammockurr and Comiski park
all over again.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I may Lee Missilli out there in the outfield. I
don't know why. That's what comes to mind when I
start thinking, where.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Did Lee Maszilly make an All Star team?

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yeah? Yeah, damn right, he did. Come on now.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
And major league I will say, I get a.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Home run, I believe What do you mean did he
make it? I think he hit a home run in
the All Star Game?

Speaker 5 (09:27):
What year?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
I don't don't ask me years. Please don't do that
to me. Don't be no map tonight.

Speaker 5 (09:33):
What would you take on the over under of the game.
I loved Lee Mizzilly. The over under on number of
All Star appearances by Lee mozill one. That's right.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
It was in Seattle nineteen seventy.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
It was like in the eighth inning or something like that,
hide the game or something.

Speaker 7 (09:50):
But that was the Dave Parker game that got talked
about a little when Parker passed recently.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
I don't know what I had for lunch, but I
remember that home run.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
Damn right, that's a hilarious I don't know it's funny
that you say that, because in bringing up the idea
that they're wearing their uniforms.

Speaker 7 (10:06):
Again, which hasn't been since twenty nineteen. Amazingly to me.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
I don't know why, but I the nineteen eighty three
All Star Game. The National League had this incredible run
going in the All Star Game.

Speaker 7 (10:18):
And Atlee Hammicker it took the match.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
I don't know why. I remember it like it was yesterday. Steve,
I don't know what it is, Arnie. I remember Mario
Sodo being in the All Star Game because I loved
him and his hair. And I remember Steve Sachs started
in that All Star Game.

Speaker 7 (10:33):
And so Exnittional League was down nine to one in
the third inning.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Third inning, because that's when my dad made me go
to bed, because guys know the best Fred Lynn, I'm no.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
The best All Star moment was Fernando right. What he
pitched it, what it struck out like? Was it six
in a row or something?

Speaker 7 (10:50):
In Houston eighty six? The Reggie homer in seventy one
is pretty good.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Nominally.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Here's but here, here's the thing on the All Star Game.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Just real quick, and then we'll get we'll get to
our contractionally manned aided by Lebron James NBA conversations the SEGA.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I think you can feel this.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
I don't. You think you can feel this, and you
probably don't. These All Star Game memories were it for
us as kids? I mean because you got to the
All Star Game and that was the first time that
the National league in the American League would square off. Yep,
right outside of the outside of the postseason.

Speaker 7 (11:21):
Great color with the uniforms on display, as you mentioned
that we're gonna see now. And also there weren't five
hundred and fifty two channels plus streaming back then.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Right, and people want the players wanted to play in
the game.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Actually, how about that. That's a that's a new concept
out there. They actually wanted to play. They wanted to
and didn't.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Want the days off or anything like that.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
You know. And baseball is not messing around this this year,
are they? Are they getting right back at it on Thursday?

Speaker 3 (11:46):
Or did I drink it? Okay that Friday? By the way,
sid one extra day.

Speaker 2 (11:50):
Since you're talking about baseball, we brought up DeAndre Dawson story.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
I send that to you. Wait what DeAndre dere Dawson.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
There's an Andre Dawson story you didn't see. That's no
I don't think you sent it to me.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yeah, he wants to remove the exposed cap on his
he got in. He didn't get to make the decision
to me.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
He didn't get to make the decision. Major League Baseball
changed that in that.

Speaker 7 (12:17):
It was like some people were kind of selling the idea.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yes, like waite Box was was going to be bought
by Tampa to put on that put on their hat on.
So he wants to have his switch even though he
was ten years eleven years with the Expos and only
five years with the Cubs. When I think of Andre Dawson,
I think of an Expo. Yes, I know he played
for the Cubs. Yeah, but I but he's an exposed

(12:41):
as far as I'm concerned. So he's he's like, I
don't care what people think, and he should have his
choice what it wants to because he's not getting bought
off or anything. But he just never had the choice
because what was it the sager two thousand and one,
Major League Baseball decided they were going to take that
away from the players and decide for them what what
team they were going to go in as right, something

(13:02):
like that.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
That's crazy, man.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
Well, anyway, grade bogs is with the Red Sox. It's
a Red Sox logo.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Yeah, but he was Tampa tried to buy him off
to go in Tampa Bay.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
They tried to tell hey, wear a raised hat.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (13:16):
And I was recalled it's going to be a Dave
Winfield agreement with the front office with the Padres. And
you know, he had many years with the Yankees and
a high profile free agent and a World Series appearance
and all of that with the Yanks.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
God, I don't even what. I can't completely forgotten about that. See,
this is what the All Star break is all about.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
Topics like this. Maybe.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
By the way I looked it up, the MLB All
Star Game early eighties was getting any guess on the viewership,
it's about okay even okay, forget the eighties because there
were fewer channels that they were still getting twenty million
viewers for the All Star Games.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Nineties.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
Wow. I was gonna say, like seven million.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
Yea, Now it's seven million.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Oh wow.

Speaker 7 (13:57):
Of course there are fewer people have TV in general.
Now Primetime shows don't get seven million.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Now.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
We had people's careers ruined at the All Star Game.

Speaker 4 (14:09):
Who was the one who's the catcher. They got run
over with it.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Ray Foss's game, he got destroyed, got blown up for
crying out loud.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
I remember being so excited about the announcement of just
the players because they would have and I was a
Dodgers fan, so I didn't get see a lot of
Dodgers baseball growing up in Saint Louis. All your guys
would be standing next to each other and they tipped
their cat and depending on where they were, And they
still do this today. But they boo or they cheer,
and the uniform and I just, man, I love it.

(14:37):
I'm glad we're getting back to a little tradition whenever
it comes to the Major League Baseball all.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
There was a time, in fact, three different years when
Mike Piazza was the only Dodger in the All Star Game.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
I always remember Cincinnati Red players, you know, like Davy Concepcion.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
There was tons of them.

Speaker 7 (14:54):
That's why, geez, everybody has to have one. And I
called this from long distance away. This year, the Miami
Marlins have a kid who's from southern California, Kyle Stowers,
having a great year an outfielder. He's their All Star
rep and then today, final game before the All Star Break,
three homers, five for five six RBIs Miami wins eleven

(15:16):
to one at Baltimore. Kyle Stowers very much deserving.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
And real quick. Since we're on baseball, right off the top,
how about my Oklahoma high school boys, Eli Willets number
one overall? Saw that in tonight's Major League Baseball Draft.
Fort Cobb Braxton High School such a small area they
combined two cities to be able to have the high school.

(15:40):
His dad, of course, is Reggie wiltsho spend a long
time with the New York Yankees and is now a
coach with OU Baseball. And the fourth overall pick in
the draft Ethan Holliday, third basement from Stillwater High School.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Now in Oklahoma.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Where did he go?

Speaker 3 (15:55):
He went to the Colorado Rockies, which is where his
dad played.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Man Holiday, Yeah, I think some guy from my high
school was the number one picking the baseball draft and
he played quarterback for your Raiders.

Speaker 5 (16:07):
So listen, is this your cool whip thing where every
single time we have a story.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
I don't know if he was the number one picking
the draft, the sega was he was the number one
picking the baseball draft.

Speaker 7 (16:17):
I remember he was a catcher.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Yeah, he was a catcher. Yeah, he was a catcher.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Every single time, it's like, how about that. He's like,
well back in my high school, Steve, we got a
guy that he got a cool whip man got atop
every story. Also shout out to what I think is
one of the best picks in the draft of Boston.
Red Sox got Kyson Witherspoon, who is an absolute dog.
So majorly is it still going on, Steve, where they
show in the second round, just.

Speaker 7 (16:40):
The first three rounds tonight and the rest tomorrow. But
late first round the Phillies took the Arkansas pitcher who
had the no hitter Gage Wood in the college one.

Speaker 4 (16:48):
They're only on round sixty. I think is some guy
I think the Mets.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
I don't know his name, but the Mets took some
guy that hit a triple and snorted up the third
baseline after.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Oh yeah, yeah to Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Someone said we got to bring up to the Bajora
just for that there.

Speaker 7 (17:06):
It's also took a Michigan guy, and I read from
a Michigan reporter. Yes that now Michigan's the first school
ever to have a first round draft pick. In the
same year in baseball, football, basketball, and hockey.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
Wow, Arizona had three. Arizona did have one in hockey,
but we had the other.

Speaker 7 (17:23):
Three not big in hockey. University of Arizona.

Speaker 2 (17:26):
Or Acha or ach dude o laughing by we had football, right.

Speaker 7 (17:32):
S us hockey. I mean they played NHL atsu hockey.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Yeah, they do their Division one hockey. Big deal.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
Well that's a big deal.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
Big deal. All right, let's get a break good stuff
on baseball to get it started.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Obviously, it's the All Star break, so we know what
that means.

Speaker 5 (17:46):
It is Fixed Baseball Week, where every sports radio show
on the planet dives into how to fix baseball but
doesn't really need to fix it. We'll dive to that,
but when we come back, we are contractually obligated to
talk about Lebron and the Lakers and the latest twist
to turn in that drama. It's all coming up on
a busy Sunday night into a work week Monday, right
here on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, what's up, everybody?

Speaker 8 (18:08):
It's me three time pro bowler LeVar Arrington, and I
couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up
on Game? What is up on Game you ask, along
with my fellow pro bowler TJ. Hutschman Zada and Super
Bowl champion Yup, that's right, Plexico Burus.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
You can only name a show with that type of
talent on it.

Speaker 8 (18:28):

Speaker 5 (19:00):
All right, it's Arnie in Plank coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. How was your weekend?
By the way, Arnie had the extra shift, anything had
the work.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
So I didn't get to go to my basketball game
this morning? I uh oh, and we lost because I
wasn't there.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
So, but did you want to miss your basketball game
this morning? Wasn't your show last night?

Speaker 4 (19:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
But you know I get off at two in the morning.
My game was at eight in the morning. I'm not
gonna get up. I have to get some sleep for
crying out loud.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
I well, what did you do? Come on, dude, you
could sleep for five hours. No, don't play your game
and it's when you get back.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
No, no, no, oh, come on. No.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Wednesday night, though busted a three pointer. We won in overtime.
Mine was the winning shot. I'm sure somehow was it?

Speaker 4 (19:42):
No? Not really, it was first half shot.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Well, well congrats, I guess.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Oh, not a very good team, but at least we won.

Speaker 5 (19:50):
So you know there wasn't two tears. I'll tell you what.
I do a show on Friday Night. Bernie's cut back
to one night a week, so I've been blessed his
sliding on Friday night. It's been a fun show. Brian
and Mark and I had the whole show together and
took my pre show nap. Didn't have eight text messages
from Arnie that woke me up, so it was great,
but I hadn't. As I was preparing for the show,

(20:11):
we talked about the Bears and the new deal for
Ryan Pace, YadA YadA, all these other stories that were
out there. And then I woke up from a nap,
came out to the studio, and I sat down, and
I found myself Arnie enthralled in the ESPN story on
the Lebron.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
James transition of power.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Not that there was anything too terribly earth shattering, but
just when I saw it all laid out like that
and you see everything. Hey, they didn't tell him about
Luca trade, but Lebron forgave them because he realized it
had to be on the down low. He was mad
because they didn't give him a new deal. But as
David mcminnimon reported the other night, and I know you

(20:51):
were because we were all watched the summer League, right,
But as David mcminnimon reported, the Lakers were never approached
by Lebron nor his agent wanting a new deal, so
that I found that to be very interesting in a
post story follow up. And then I guess not telling
him about the change in ownership made some people, including

(21:12):
you in Roman numeral number one tonight, feel some sort
of way. So my biggest takeaway was just a he's
not the guy they're going to with all. He's not
their dude, he's not their future. He might not even
be there now, but he's still a damn good player.
And you still, I think if you're going to be successful.
You need him around and bought in. But it's just
it's going to be a future without him.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
And I don't know if this makes a difference in
your mind, I'll tell you if it makes a difference
in my mind.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
And we brought this up last night.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
ESPN amended that story where it's now saying that Lebron
was told by his representatives that there was going to
be a change in ownership before it was announced. He
just didn't want to go ahead and acknowledge it in
social media like Luca did, congratulating them.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Well, that is the major shift in the entire story.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
Really, I really, because when last night I said, well,
obviously it's still the same thing they told his representative,
but they didn't tell him.

Speaker 5 (22:14):
Right, But you go through Apparently Lebron never wants to
be told. He always he doesn't want to be consulted, right,
isn't that what we've always heard from him?

Speaker 3 (22:22):
It's like, who do you want? It's like, God, it's
not on me, that's on the GM.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Right.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
He always begs out of those kinds of conversations. So
if you let his representative, let his representatives know Arnie,
you're letting him know. They didn't call Luca personally, they
called his representatives to let him know about it. Well,
that's a major whiff in that story. If that's the
correction they've made, and they might be.

Speaker 4 (22:42):
You'll have to go ahead and google that.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
I'm sure you'll find the right away. But they did
a mend it. We did bring it up last night.
I said it really, I don't know if it really
changes my thoughts. Why was he so mad then? And
then why did he turn down that interview on ESPN
during the Summer League game? So that's why I fell,
and you know, all this is going on as we're
on the air, we're doing Saturday night. I felt that

(23:04):
he was still mad because I think Luca was told
at dinner, at that fancy dinner or whatever it was.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
That's am I reading too much into that?

Speaker 5 (23:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Absolutely? Yeah, I think so. Because now here's the update.

Speaker 5 (23:19):
Because when I first saw it, and you can go
back and listen to the podcast from Friday night, I
went through the whole damn thing, and it was they
didn't tell him about the sale, which was not a
big deal to me because if Fox Sports Radio gets sold,
Arnie you're you apparently make all the schedules, but you're
not getting a phone call.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
They're not going to tell you about it.

Speaker 5 (23:37):
Here is the story says when the Bus family agreed
to sell a majority steak in the franchise to Mark
Walter on June eighteenth, Doncic was given a heads up
and notably posted a congratulations on social media. Afterwards, after
the publication of this article, sources said James was notified
of the sale via his representation, but he did not

(24:00):
post any public acknowledge.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
That is a massive one to eighty the original report.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
Really, so I didn't guess because it went from them
not telling him anything about it.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
So he knew from his representatives, Yes, you're one hundred
percent right on that, But people were not making a
big deal about that today, Chris.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
They just kind of just went with it like okay.

Speaker 5 (24:21):
So because no one ever reads the correction, it's true,
no one ever, and there is not a big deal
in this art because the first thing I saw, and
I know we got to get to the Sager's update,
the first thing I saw once this story, once I
read it was one of the aggregators, and I think
it was like a I don't know if Yahoo has

(24:42):
any original content anymore.

Speaker 3 (24:43):
It's all just aggregation, it seems right. And it was.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
A Yahoo headline that said James wasn't notified of team sale.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
That was the original report. I believe all over, Chris,
I believe that was all.

Speaker 5 (24:56):
That was the story from Windhorse and Ramona shelburn that
everyone aggregated. And so to me, now when it comes
comes back out there, it's like, oh, wait a minute,
he was told about it.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
I think that's a major miss in this story.

Speaker 5 (25:09):
Dude. That's me.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
There's those two had to put the retraction, now that
you bring it up, Winter Traction and Shelburne.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
They had to go ahead and do that.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
But it wasn't a big retraction. It's just one little
sentence in this whole article. There's nothing in the front
of it, there's nothing at the top of it. There's
just oh yeah, hey, by the way, Once this article
was published, and that was the thing that seemed to
be aggregated the most, that had people fired up.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
That's wild to me. I didn't realize just until this moment.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
But you say, it's not really that big of a
deal to you that it was through his representation to me.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
It was everything is still the same.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
Lebron's mad. I don't think he's gonna and I said
this last week. I don't think he's ever going to
play for the Lakers again. I believe he wants to
be gone. I still think the Lakers, you know, could
have reached out to him. You're saying that they reach
out to the representatives. I was.

Speaker 4 (25:58):
I didn't know that, Chris, to be honest with you,
and I think Luka was told directly to me.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
That's, you know, a little bit more personable than how
they told Lebron. So I still thought everything was the
same as the original report.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
Okay, I disagree one thousand percent.

Speaker 10 (26:16):
And you may be swaying me after you because you're
I mean, do you do you not think telling Rich
Paul about it is not like telling Lebron James, Yes,
that's his represent well, that's his representation.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
You're right, you're right, you're right, you're right about that. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:31):
I'm getting triggered way too much over this, and it's
not that big of a deal. Steve the Sager is
in the house. He is my zen, my piece, and
he's got everything that's trending in the world of sports.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
What's going on, Steve?

Speaker 7 (26:41):
While we're talking hoops? The Cooper Flag item that the
Dallas rookie is reportedly being shut down after playing two
games in the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League. They score,
so I'm scored thirty one yesterday in a low scoring game.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
By the way.

Speaker 7 (26:53):
Four w NBA contest today, including an Indiana win over
Dallas one O two eighty three Caitlin Clark fourteen points
thirteen assists. New York came from nineteen down first half
to beat Atlanta. Victories for Washington and LA. Major League
Baseball is on All Star Break. The Brewers won their
seventh in a row today, eight one over Washington. It
was three to one in the eighth. Nationals have lost

(27:15):
four in a row. Brewers starter and winner Freddie Peralta
is eleven and four at All Star Break with an
ERA of two point sixty six, but the Brewer is
still a game back of the first place Chicago Cubs
in the NL Central. The Cubs beat the Yankees in
New York for to one, show to Emonaga with the
victory seven innings of work, his ERA at the break
two point sixty five, and closer Daniel paalencha Era one

(27:37):
and a half, got the save today. Gencarlo Stanton homered
in New York, but the rest of the Yankees were
one for twenty four at the plate. Meanwhile, Boston won
its tenth straight game, four to one over Tampa Bay
Rays have lost four straight. Brian Bayo got the win
the save to Eraldus. Chapman is seventeen. His ERA at
All Star Break is one point one point eight. Cincinnati

(27:59):
and Miami with wins a's in Arizona as well, Philadelphia
is back in first in the NL East half game
over the Mets. Phillies won two to one at San Diego,
while the Mets gave up a run bottom of the
ninth at Kansas City Royals three to two. The final
and it was two runs top of the ninth for
the Mets and then they lost in the bottom of
the ninth San Francisco with a tying two run homer

(28:20):
against the Dodgers bottom of the ninth, but in eleven innings,
LA takes the game at San Francisco five to two.
Saint Louis had the late game. As it turned out,
it wasn't scheduled that way, but there were over four
hours of rain delays until they finally finished there in
Missouri tonight five to four over Atlanta. The Braves now
go home. Atlanta is hosting All Star Week, in fact,

(28:41):
hosting the draft that started tonight. Yes Washington took a
high school shortstop number one overall the home run derby
in Atlanta on Monday and Tuesday night the All Star
Game there on Fox TV. The starting pitchers Paul Skeins
of the Pirates for the NL for the al Detroit's
Trek Schooble number one seed Yanick Center took the Wimble
title in four close sets over Carlos Alcarez. Chelsea won

(29:03):
the FIFA Club World Cup final. Brown's rookie running back
Quinchawn Judkins is facing a misdemeanor domestic battery charge in Florida.
He's out after spending Saturday night in jail. NASCAR's event
went to Shane Van Gisbergen on the road course at Sonoma,
alex Poalo the IndyCar winner at Iowa, his seventh victory
this season. And guys, I looked up the draft of

(29:25):
former NFL quarterback Jay Schrader, that is, the MLB draft
when he was taken after being a high school catcher
at Arnie School in Los Angeles, take taken by the
Blue Jays number three overall nineteen seventy nine, just after
pitcher Tim Leary of UCLA was taken, who wound up
pitching for the Dodgers. Also in the top ten that

(29:48):
year outfielder Andy van sl like infielder Tim Wallach who
played wow for Cal State Fulletin's national champs. Also in
that first round with the guys I've just mentioned nineteen
si seventy nine reliever Steve how the Dodgers drafted from
the University of Michigan. Former Michigan quarterback Rick Leech was

(30:08):
taken first round that Detroit Tigers. Yes, and an outfielder
and attlee Hammicker was taken in the lost the eighty
three All Star Game. We were talking.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
About Jee only number three. Oh wow, that's horrible to man.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
I didn't realize is Steve House still with us?

Speaker 4 (30:31):
No?

Speaker 5 (30:32):
No, he died in two thousand and six.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
Yeah, long time ago.

Speaker 3 (30:36):
I died in a truck crash. That's terrible rip. But
there you go major League Baseball and that.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Player was Eli Willits that went number one overall. An
absolute freaking stud and some say ended up going number
one because the Nats didn't want to deal with Scott
Boris And I don't think Scott's going to be representing ELI,
so take that. I'm sure Scott will be crying into
his vault of cash with his other picks that'll be

(31:04):
negotiating for tonight. Hey, don't forget to check out our

(31:24):
those that aren't familiar with the program, Arnie sends out
a tweet every single week asking where should we start? Yeah,
and I noticed my guy Joe Judges Berner sent this.
He writes, Blank needs to be aware of the insanity
Arnie was speeling last night, saying that Cooper Flag should
replace Cherry West on the logo because Arnie thinks he's

(31:45):
that good. After two Summer League games, I thought I
was listening to a patient in a psychiatric word are putting?

Speaker 9 (31:53):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Before the two Summer League games.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Are you putting him in your preseason Hall of Fame
or just the Hall of fame?

Speaker 2 (31:59):
The Hall of Fame, not my preseason hall of Fame,
but the Hall of Fame. I just love Cooper Flag.
First of all, he didn't play that great in the
first game. I'd probably give him like a C, maybe
a C plus. The second game. He was a lot better.

Speaker 4 (32:13):
With the third one. He's gonna have troubleshooting the three
point shot.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
He's gonna have to really work on that, and his
handles on the ball. His dribbling needs to have some
improvement also, But he's the real deal. You know, it's
gonna be tough for him to average twenty game. I
think the top rookie coming in was twenty two a
game was the highest average points per game. I think

(32:37):
he can get about fifteen to twenty. You know the
way the NBA is now in the up and down
style and the blowouts, and you know, just him playing
all kinds of minutes. But no, I love him. I
said he's gonna be if you don't. If he's not
the face of the NBA, who is the face of
the NBA?

Speaker 4 (32:55):
Who are you paying to watch? Now, when the.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
NBA starts, it's Cooper Flag. Everybody's gonna want to see
Cooper Flag. He's gonna be the face. If he's not
the face of the NBA right now, Chris and he
is the future eighteen years old and.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
He is going to be the superstar.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
He may be the first one hundred million dollar a
year player. If Wemby doesn't get it, it'll be between
those two.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
But he think is going to be shake gilg just
Alexander h possible.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
You know, it depends on whose contracts up at the
right time there, you know, you know what I'm saying.
But I just I just love everything about him, and
he is he is the ratings of the games Dallas is.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Gonna be on, will be through the roof.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
I mean, look what it was just for the two
Summer League games, was like must watch TV. I made
sure I gotta be in front of TV. You gotta
watch Cooper Flag, gotta gotta see what he's going to do.
And I made sure I was in front of it
for the for the second game. So he's gonna bring
in all the eyes people want to watch him right now.
He's really kind of like the face of the NBA.

(33:59):
What who would you rather watch now than Cooper Flag?

Speaker 5 (34:06):
A lot of people.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
No, that's not true, Chris, that's not true at all.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
He'll he'll, he's the number one guy. His games will
be number one. It's not s g A or it's
not gonna be.

Speaker 5 (34:18):
Why is it the league MVP? Who's the defending champ?
Why is it an Anthony Edwards? Why is it not
who's in Los Angeles? Why is it Phil Steph Curry
who's out in Golden said? Why are you acting like
there's no freaking stars in this league? And that Cooper
Flag is going to have some sort of Caitlin Clark
effect on the NBA? Do you view it?

Speaker 2 (34:37):
I think exactly, he's going to have that Caitlin Clark effect.
I think you watch and see if the Dallas Maverick
games are not What were the.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
NCAA tournament rankings in the games he was.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
In, uh for Duke, I'm not sure I have I
would help your story and you're so now you're telling us, Okay, Yeah,
I'm with Yarnie.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
You're right. This is it. This is the turn for
the the NBA. That that or TV deal they just got.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
You think you think that people are just not interested
in Cooper Flag.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
I didn't say that.

Speaker 5 (35:07):
I say I think you go from zero to one hundred,
you can be interesting. Hey, I think the kid's gonna
be pretty good. They're gonna shut him down because they
feel good about where he is. You come in like
he is the greatest thing that's ever happened in the
history of the NBA.

Speaker 3 (35:19):
Watch more than anything else.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
Something logan, Yeah, I know right when I said something
about Wemby, you jumped on my throat left.

Speaker 5 (35:26):
You said we'd be sucked. Yeah, because you watched one
game from him and you said he sucked.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
You watched one game from Cooper Flag.

Speaker 5 (35:33):
You're like, well, you know, he didn't have a good
first game, but that second game.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
You and I watched him a lot in college. Also,
we've talked about it.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
Was there one year he who watched him a lot.

Speaker 2 (35:43):
We watched him in college. We've talked about him for
the last couple of years. There's no surprise here.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
You know what.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Okay, you guys all sleep on Cooper Flag.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Go ahead, let's stop this.

Speaker 5 (35:53):
Listen. There is a difference between sleeping on someone and
calling them you must see.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
TV anybody out, But there was a host on Fox
Sports Radio and said.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
I'm waving the white flag on Gooper flag after the
first Summer League.

Speaker 5 (36:08):
They learned it from watching you dad. All Right, get
a break. When we come back, we'll hit your tweets next.
Right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 5 (36:22):
All right, it's Tarny and Plank and we're coming to you.
Laugh at the Fox Sports Radio studios.

Speaker 4 (36:26):
This is cool. We got people that have never watched
the basketball before. Text again, Arnie, listen.

Speaker 5 (36:33):
There's a major difference between saint hey man, I think
he's got a I think he's got a really good
chance to be a good player, and then jumping out
and saying I think he's the face of the league.
That's which is who summer league case.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
That's what you told me in nineteen seventy nine when
I said some guy named Larry and Irvin we're going
to be the face of the end.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
We have the same fight, I know, and I told
you you got to chill out right now.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
I was right then and I'm right now. Seriously, what
is wrong with people? Do they not on this day
that this kid, he's only eighteen years old. Look what
he could do. Right now, he is the face of
the NBA. Right now, he's the face of the NBA.
That's why people tuned into the summer league team. Nobody
wants to watch anybody in the NBA more than Cooper
Flag right now.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Nobody.

Speaker 5 (37:16):
Yeah, because the season's over, it's summer league. If paying
in this summer league would be about it.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
When the season starts, nobody's gonna have higher ratings than
games with Cooper Flag in it.

Speaker 4 (37:30):
I promise you.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
That you can't promise this that I stop saying that that.
That's not a thing you can say. You promised us
all these picks that have been dead ass wrong, So
stop take that from your vernacular and your vocabulary. Take
it away. I promise you that you got to learn
a new face. Let me let me hit some of
the reaction to it, and again, I would make this
very clear. I'm a big Cooper Flag fan. He's gonna

(37:53):
be special. Yeah, I think he's gonna be like that
lifts shrimp. I think he's gonna be good. But you
putting him say, yeah, that's a great comparison. Della Shripp
was the heack of a player.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Get the producer to take that out of the podcast
before Plint gets fired.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
Vin it was. It was actually a Kevin O'Connor comparison.
So it's like in people who study the NBA and
watch it NonStop, Arnie, not like you who watch a half.
Did you even watch the whole Summer League game?

Speaker 4 (38:19):
I watched both of the Summer League games that he
was in.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
So you you took away from that first Summer League
game when somehow this guy that can't play in the league,
Bronnie James, is being hyped up as the matchup with
Cooper Flag and going toe for toe with him.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
I have some good things to say about Bronnie. I'll
get to that later on, but yeah, hey, he's eighteen
years old. Relax yourself. He's going to get bigger, stronger.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
And learn the game.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
It don't a great but that's what I'm telling you.
Relax yourself.

Speaker 5 (38:47):
You're you're losing your mind over.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
The shows tonight.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
I have a game, right But you don't have to
sound foolish.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
You cannot stand back and take some time saying that
Cooper is the face of the league right now?

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Do you understand who this kid's going to be what
he is right now? How many people want a piece
of him? How many people want to watch him? Do
you have any idea?

Speaker 5 (39:07):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Wake up? Hello?

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Hello, got the guy? Understand it.

Speaker 5 (39:12):
I'm watching it right there with you, But I'm not
coming away saying face of the league. After two.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Maybe you should first time watching NBA. I take it, Okay,
that's all right, cool.

Speaker 5 (39:23):
It's league, dude. Well, dude's got to be playing against
you in your rec league here in a couple of
weeks that he's going up against. Here's one from Superstar
Dad who writes, thank you playing from bringing some sense
into this this discussion. This man just said, Cooper Flak
is the face of the league. Cooper Flak isn't even
the face of the Mavericks yet. I don't know if

(39:47):
I agree with David Flag is going to be the bust.
He is going to make a and look like a
great number one pick in comparison.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
There you go. Is that your burner account, Chris.

Speaker 5 (39:55):
Mister, No, because I don't think he's gonna be a bust.
I think he's gonna be really good. I think when
you're coming out here saying he's gonna be the face
of the league's like it's a little bit.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Much here right off the bat.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
Uh Griddle's big blackout rights is beth On vacation, stinking
genius is off his meds or drunk or both. And
then mister Nobody writes, how can Arnie say Cooper Flag
will be the face of the NBA when I can
say I've never watched one of his games. SGA is
much more of a must see than Cooper Flag could

(40:26):
not for a dream of it.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
That's not even true, That's not even close to being true, Harney.

Speaker 5 (40:31):
He just won the MVP.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
I understand this is not about who the MVP is
or who's winning the NBA title.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Stop it. I know we're short on time.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
We'll probably get to this next hour, but he is
the more people want to watch Cooper Flag than any
other player in the NBA right now.

Speaker 5 (40:47):
Well again, he's the only one that's really playing that's
relevant right now, because when.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
The season starts, that's when.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
All right, when we come back. Got some NFL notes
to get to.

Speaker 5 (40:57):
There's more hot NBA takes here on Roman Numeral four
and five from Arnie today. Plus we got SEC Media
Day starting up in mini camps right around the corner
on Fox Sports Radio. Stick around.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (41:12):
In an hour two Happy All Star Break? Everybody.

Speaker 5 (41:15):
Major League Baseball reaches its All Star break, which means
home run derby tomorrow game on Tuesday, and then we
sit around for a couple of days and wait for
the season to get back going Red Sox Cubs to
get things rolling on Friday? How about that any of
the series reds matts?

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Well before we get into baseball, Can I just make
one quick announcement, because I.

Speaker 5 (41:39):
Just was mentioning the All Star Game, We're no need
to get into baseball because I don't think we want
to fix baseball yet.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
But go ahead, Arnie, you're.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
I just saw one story that was earlier in the
week we haven't really brought up. Did you see the
story about Tom Brady dating slash hanging out with Sophie Aga.

Speaker 4 (42:00):
From Modern Family.

Speaker 5 (42:03):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
I used to always think, I'm not kidding around about this,
that if my wife ever left me, that I was
going to call her first and see, what, like.

Speaker 4 (42:11):
Hey, do you want to go out Sophia? Maybe go
to a Laker game or something, you know, So she adopted.

Speaker 5 (42:16):
A bullet.

Speaker 7 (42:18):
She does a missile actually.

Speaker 5 (42:19):
I'm really starting to worry about you. Cooper Flag is
now the face of the league. And so Sophia, Now
we say robber Gara, Is that right, Mary.

Speaker 4 (42:27):
Mac, I think so I'm delusion.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
Now Sophia Grigara would be your new girlfriend?

Speaker 4 (42:33):
Well, I just thought i'd I'd ask her out. She's stunning,
there's no doubt.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
But actually he might have a chance. I think because
she dates Jay in the show. Well, that is true.
That is true, Mary, she's married.

Speaker 7 (42:45):
To Yeah Mary soon?

Speaker 4 (42:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (42:48):
Is that why?

Speaker 5 (42:48):
Because you consider yourself to be in the same category
as Al Bundy slash Ed O'Neil that.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
And she is stunning. I mean I like her.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
I think she's a good actress and she plays these
good parts and obviously very attractive name.

Speaker 4 (43:04):
Uh, that doesn't matter right now.

Speaker 5 (43:08):
You don't know any other Modern.

Speaker 4 (43:09):
Family about besides that Modern family. There you go, And
I just gave you to She's been a lot of stuff. Yeah,
but she was good in Modern Family.

Speaker 5 (43:19):
So okay, So your your point has nothing to do
with Tom Brady and these rumors, which, by the way,
Tom Brady's people have been quick to point out aren't
necessarily true.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Oh Goetty, here.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
Your story is that you think that you could have
dated her, not even.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
Say I could have.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
I just said, if my wife left me, she was
going to be the first person I called. I was
gonna say, hey, Chris Gus, what got a date?

Speaker 4 (43:42):
My first date? You know?

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Now my wife left me, I'm going to go out
with Sophia I think you know, or she's an actress.

Speaker 4 (43:48):
We're going to go to the.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
Laker game, you know, have some fun, go out like
the Cheesecake Factory.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
Cheesecake, the cheesecake factory, that massive menu and got a
lot on.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
I bet you'd go to the cheesecake factory. She looks
like a cheesecake factory type.

Speaker 5 (44:03):
Girl with a nothing's wrong with Beth. She's great, She's amazing.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
Right right. I'm just saying, I'm just saying, you know,
but there you go.

Speaker 5 (44:14):
I don't even want to I don't want to have
any other conversations with you now today. I just can
we just count Can we have a countdown clock ticking
on the show. So let's let me let me clean
up here the NBA Roman numerals. All right, beyond Cooper flag,
you did mention and you had some nice things to
say about Bronni at Roman numeral number three.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
I thought he looked pretty good. I thought he looked good.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
I first of all, I think he's putting on more muscle. Yeah,
I think the way he remember I told you last year,
I didn't like the way he shot the ball and
he didn't have good form. I think he's worked on that.
He looks a lot better. I know it didn't show
what he was shooting three pointers. He looks physically stronger
too out there. I think he could maybe make a

(44:56):
movie some good strides. You know, there's one thing that
kind of bothered me, and I know this is a
small thing. Did you see his interview he did in
the game when he was going up against Cooper Flag
the first one, and they talked to him, and they
talked to him between periods. He was trying to be
like his dad, you know, very stern, very short answers,
you know, you know, making you know, he's a good

(45:19):
looking kid. Give a smile. Get people to be on
your side. People are against you right now, they're anti Brownie.
Get them on your side. Be personable in these interviews.
Don't be like your dad. That's worked for him in
a different way. Smile, and get people on your side.
And I think somebody needs to work with him on
doing these interviews because I think he's a good looking

(45:41):
kid and he could certainly people will win people on
his side.

Speaker 5 (45:44):
You know, you don't think that he's had people working
with him before.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
Well, they didn't do a good job, but he did
a hard well, then they have to say you've got
the change.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
Change He did.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
One thing they asked about, obviously about Cooper Flag, and
he was very stoic about it.

Speaker 4 (46:01):
He's just man.

Speaker 5 (46:02):
He's in the middle of playing against him. What do you.

Speaker 4 (46:04):
Expect, Well, then he should Arnie Spanier.

Speaker 5 (46:08):
I don't think you really have many choices there, Arnie Spanier.
You're doing an in game interview. Yeah, playing well and
they ask you about a guy on the I team
and I just stopped the bag.

Speaker 4 (46:17):
Let me tell you something.

Speaker 2 (46:18):
This kid's the real If they're asking me, hey, Arnie,
what do you think of Cooper Flag?

Speaker 4 (46:23):
This kid's the real deal.

Speaker 5 (46:24):
Man.

Speaker 4 (46:25):
To just see, I could barely go ahead and keep him. Uh,
he was gonna run me over. He's a tough guy.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
He can shoot from the other side, he's tough inside.

Speaker 4 (46:32):
We're gonna do our best, but this kid's the real
deal for years to come.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
NBA fans have some personality, would you please?

Speaker 11 (46:41):
You would not say that, That's exactly what I would say.
That's exactly what you would be like, I just shut
him down. You would let him know and I just.

Speaker 4 (46:49):
Well then say, right now, I'll being one hundred percent serious.

Speaker 5 (46:54):
I mean, if you're gonna start judging guys off their
in game interviews and how they're game, you.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
Absolutely are judging. You think I'm kidding around. Look at
yes three sub section number two. You see where it
says number two on Roman numeral three.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
I don't have it sitting in front of me.

Speaker 2 (47:11):
It says interview. And that was the first thing that
bothered me. It was the interview that he gave between
periods quarters.

Speaker 5 (47:18):
But we're not this thirsty for content. I mean, I
made the mistake. I've got to ignore some of these
Roman numerals. Man, you cannot be getting on someone for
a in game interview doing a freaking summer lead.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
It wasn't that I'm getting on about absolutely. I just said, look,
he's a good looking guy. Okay, he's got a good smile.
Get people on your side. Don't be so stoic. Don't
give him another reason.

Speaker 4 (47:45):
They hate you. Go ahead, change whoever's told you to go.
Just give short answers to get the hell out of there.
That's not the way to do it.

Speaker 5 (47:53):
I wait, what's the source on people to tell him
to do that?

Speaker 3 (47:58):
And that's not just him.

Speaker 4 (48:00):
It's probably his dad telling him to do that, is
what it is.

Speaker 5 (48:02):
You're just assuming things here, man, You're just assuming that that.

Speaker 4 (48:07):
You don't think they told him how to do the interview?

Speaker 3 (48:09):
No, I think that's his person.

Speaker 5 (48:11):
I don't have it. So I just think you're judging
him based on you've never heard any interviews with him
outside of that.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
Brodie, come to me and I'm gonna teach you how
to do interviews and social media and I'll work with
you on stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (48:23):
Okay, Yeah, go to Arnie, who can really help you
with social media. He has the same damn tweet he
sends out before every single show. I'm sure you can
get your social media game up and going. Come on now, dude,
what are you doing why right now?

Speaker 2 (48:38):
He's not very much liked. I think he can win
people over in this. I think he's gonna have a
decent year, not in the NBA in the G I think, yeah.

Speaker 5 (48:46):
I'll tell you what stood out to me was what
you said with the physical side of it. Whenever you
watched him play in the league last year, he looked
like someone's kid that that won a prize to go
out there and play. Now he looks like he belongs
out there.

Speaker 4 (49:01):
Now.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
Again, this isn't a true NBA game. This is the
summer League.

Speaker 5 (49:05):
There's a bunch of guys he's going up against that
aren't even gonna play in the G League for goodness sakes.

Speaker 3 (49:11):
But I didn't.

Speaker 5 (49:12):
I didn't even remember his in game interview, Like it
didn't even resonate with me.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
How much I wanted to see Cooper Fuke. By the way,
did you see the commercial that was running the uh.

Speaker 4 (49:23):
In the game? Did you see that?

Speaker 5 (49:24):
Which one?

Speaker 2 (49:25):
There's Well, I'm just gonna give you a hit. Bronny's
first name, Bronni the paper towels about time. It's brilliant,
the Bronny paper towels. So I thought that was kind
of funny. I whether if there was if they actually
are paying him or what, but that was funny.

Speaker 5 (49:43):
I thought that was a good and to clean up
the NBA talk tonight, Roman Numeral four. Overall on the Lakers,
you're not like the direction because everyone seems to have
a take on it right now.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
And by the way, you can tag in number five
with that.

Speaker 5 (49:55):
And DeAndre Ayton, who apparently we have some people working
with us to think he's the next coming now that
he's a Laker of I don't know, the great Wilt
Chamberlain or something.

Speaker 4 (50:04):
You see now.

Speaker 2 (50:04):
To me, what happened to DeAndre Ayton is a bigger
deal than No then about what you said about Lebron
being told to his representatives, DeAndre Ayton got a text
from Luca, but never got a text from Lebron, And
to me, that's very telling, especially when you have a
guy like that coming to your team and he's going

(50:26):
to be a.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
Big part of the team.

Speaker 2 (50:27):
Whether you win or not, that's a different story, but
he's going to be a big part of the team.
As for the Lakers, Chris I said it's time for
them to move on from Lebron. I think they want
to move on from Lebron. I think Lebron wants to
move on from the Lakers. I don't think he's ever
gonna play a game for the Lakers again. I brought
this up last week. I don't know how the Walters
group is going to do this, but if they could

(50:47):
rework his contract so he makes like a dollar now
and fifty three million later on, like Bobby Benia, maybe
it'd be easier for him to be traded. They say
there's four teams interested in him.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
By the way, is there no such thing as tampering anymore?

Speaker 2 (51:01):
You could just call guys now and to call the
representatives say we want Lebron James.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
You don't have to wait for any certain gaps.

Speaker 5 (51:08):
The work around, man, that's the workaround you have. Like, no,
we didn't officially contact anyone. There might be a far
reaching like tie to the team that contacted a rap,
but we didn't necessarily contact him.

Speaker 3 (51:22):
Yeah, they've got their workarounds as well.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
I think if you go ahead and rework his contract
to make it more palatable to trade him, especially to
a team like Cleveland, I do think he'll be moved.
I think Cleveland would be number one on the list.
I think Golden State would be number two, maybe the
Clippers at number three. Those would be the top three
teams I'm guessing would be interested in Lebron James.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
I think he's going to be gone this year.

Speaker 5 (51:46):
Well again, I don't know if you can rework a
contract in the rules after they've opted in. So you
keep talking about this, but can you do that?

Speaker 4 (51:58):
I have no idea.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
But the funny part is I could say yes, nobody
will correct me because nobody else knows anyway.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
But there's got to be a way.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
You got to tell me that there's never been contracts
reworked before in the NBA. That only happens in the
NFL and other sports. I don't understand.

Speaker 5 (52:13):
I don't. Well, yes, but the Arnie you try to
compare things to different sports. Yes, everything is different in
every single sports. There's no aprons. In the NFL, there's
a hard cap, there's a much more structured city. I
think there's a much more structured system in the NFL
than there is in the NBA. And I don't think

(52:34):
NBA contracts, I don't think they're allowed to be negotiated
to where unless you're going to extend him, they're just
not gonna take less.

Speaker 3 (52:44):
He's not gonna take less. He opted in for the
fifty two to fifty three more.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
But I met, what are you talking about I've been
more like a Bobby Bennia contract, Right, that's one end.

Speaker 5 (52:51):
You're comparing a baseball contract to the NBA.

Speaker 4 (52:55):
Well, I'm trying to help them out a little.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
Again, against the rules, you can't do it. It's a
great idea, but it's just it's not legal in the league.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
It's well, they have to figure out something because nobody's
going to trade for him with that fifty two.

Speaker 5 (53:08):
Maybe they don't want to trade him.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
Have you ever thought has anyone thought of this?

Speaker 5 (53:13):
Lebron never went to the Lakers asking for an extension,
nor is he asked for a trade, and his representatives
have made that clear. And yet we're the ones that
are sent here going, oh, I think he's going to
be traded when you're so.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Mad about Well, why wouldn't you do an interview when
he never does interviews like that? Oh?

Speaker 4 (53:30):
The way he said it though, because I've got nothing
to say.

Speaker 5 (53:33):
Yeah, hold on, hold on, say did he say it?
Did you hear him say it? No, you heard David
mcmanimhon report again.

Speaker 4 (53:41):
You say he's lying, now mcmanhimon. That has one of the.

Speaker 5 (53:44):
Times he didn't say he was angry. He said he
said he politely said, no, I got nothing to say.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Well that that comes off as I angry there, Chris,
does it mat or what am I reading through much
into that quote?

Speaker 4 (53:55):
Yes, you're taking any.

Speaker 5 (53:56):
Report from David mcmhou's a great seems like a great
dude obviously is able to OutKick his coverage. But holy
smokes man. Now, based on how this guy said it went,
you're like, Oh, he's angry, he's mad, he doesn't want
to do anything. Like, where the hell are you getting
that from? Off something that David mcminimum said, you got
from Lebron. You're acting like you heard Lebron say it. Dude.

Speaker 2 (54:19):
You could also tell by his body language and stuff.

Speaker 5 (54:22):
You could just feel, oh my god.

Speaker 2 (54:25):
And the way that story came out that they didn't
tell him at first. They were kind of dividing Lebron
and the Lakers when that.

Speaker 5 (54:32):
But what ended up happening once that story came out?
What do you mean?

Speaker 4 (54:36):
What? What?

Speaker 3 (54:37):
What's the first thing they had to do when that
story came out?

Speaker 4 (54:41):
They gave a retraction.

Speaker 5 (54:43):
Here is the report that Arnie's talking about where Lebron
is very angry.

Speaker 3 (54:47):
Apparently listen to this now, I.

Speaker 5 (54:49):
Asked Lebron just before tip off or if he'd like
to join the broadcast to discuss everything.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
And he told me, quote, I ain't got nothing to talk.

Speaker 11 (54:56):
About, so angry, so would I join the broadcast? Does
it so he's so angry, he's so mad?

Speaker 4 (55:06):
That's the way.

Speaker 2 (55:07):
Am I the only person that hears that quote? And figure,
then he's angry Lebron. I think there's people listing right now,
but you're right or already does that angry?

Speaker 5 (55:17):
Let's go around the horn on this one? And does
Lebron sound angry? Mcmnimum report.

Speaker 9 (55:23):
Sure.

Speaker 7 (55:24):
I don't think you can come away from that thinking
he sounds angry?

Speaker 5 (55:27):
Right? Nothing to say?

Speaker 7 (55:30):
He might be angry at the reporter for a week.

Speaker 5 (55:32):
I know, maybe he's tired of mcminimon. I don't know
for a long time. So now, Steve, he's taking this
to me that you're on his side. Nothing to say.

Speaker 7 (55:42):
He inferred that you and I are angry also right exactly?

Speaker 4 (55:45):
I don't I don't get is that the way he
said it to m Montsotha. He said, like, what did
I tell you?

Speaker 2 (55:50):
I got nothing to say like that?

Speaker 4 (55:54):
He didn't say, oh thank you, I got nothing to say.

Speaker 11 (55:58):
You have no idea what he's He didn't say it
like that, Chris, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Would you bet your life?

Speaker 4 (56:05):
Would you like to join us on the broadcast. I've
got nothing to say.

Speaker 3 (56:09):
Well, yeah, nobody talks like that on the planet.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Yeah, obviously he does. Now I guess, no, what do you?

Speaker 3 (56:17):
Where are you getting this from?

Speaker 5 (56:18):
Like?

Speaker 6 (56:18):
What's up your backside? That he should have been like, Chris,
I'm very sorry. I just don't think I have the
time right now, any other time, any other occasion.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
I throw myself at the mercy of ESPN.

Speaker 5 (56:33):
Right by the way, you can say, you're the one
that just sent out the three page report that that
had they had.

Speaker 11 (56:41):
Ah, So he was mad, So now you're agreeing with.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
I have no freaking idea. Neither do you.

Speaker 5 (56:50):
But if he if ESPN approached him after the article
came out, he might be like, man, I got nothing
to say.

Speaker 2 (56:56):
Everybody was right now. You know what they're saying right
now at the radio, the plank stuff it the guys mad,
the guys mad stopping.

Speaker 7 (57:03):
Actually, Lebron was probably mad because the Lakers can't defer
ninety percent of his salary.

Speaker 5 (57:09):
That's right, and pay him like Bobby Benia is right
exactly magically, Yeah, we're all assuming things. From the World
of One. David mcminimon's report on how Lebron answered his question.
Angry Lebron, come on.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
You know sometimes two and two does equal for Chris.
Maybe you should figure that out quickly.

Speaker 5 (57:28):
Or I would counter that you're trying to make it
add up to something more than four and it doesn't.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
You say, we have a producer. Have the producer put
up a pole? Does Lebron come off angry at the
Wakers and let's see, let's get a quote that.

Speaker 7 (57:43):
We've never great.

Speaker 4 (57:47):
Goodness. You can't see what's so? Everything is just.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Great honkey dory between the Wakers and Lebron.

Speaker 5 (57:55):
It's like a perfect Hey, buddy, how would you be
if they gave you fifty two million dollars?

Speaker 4 (57:59):
They had no choice on that, No they didn't.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
I mean he could have easily. If he's so angry,
why do you opt in?

Speaker 2 (58:05):
If he's so upset, I'll give you fifty two million
reasons why you opt.

Speaker 5 (58:09):
It exactly So, to me, this is a lot of
created drama more than anything else, and Lebron's partially responsible
for it. But to come away from that saying that,
oh yeah, he's not doing it because he's angry. You
have no idea, nor does anyone, and Lebron won't let
you know until he does his goofy podcast like everyone does,
where you sit on a couch and you got the

(58:29):
microphone and you act like or you don't want to
be there every podcast like, shoot, man, I don't want
to be here. We'll just talk about That's what it is.
It's every podcast, it's every show now, and that's when
we'll find out any other gyms from the summer league.
You want to drop on us before we shift to
the NFL. And I thought when we come.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
Back, I thought Harper played real well. He looked good
in the one game I saw him.

Speaker 5 (58:51):
I don't know, I know you want to make him
the face of the league.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
Oh gosh, you just I got pitbull going right for
the jugular, are you not? That's okay when all this happens,
Just like I told you did the same thing to me,
when I told you about McDaniel and all those guys
and how he was a terrible coach. And now you're
finally coming around and you give me crap about the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (59:12):
Now, the Knicks are go to the NBA Championship next year.

Speaker 5 (59:15):
No, no, I was crap about the Knicks whenever you
had them winning the title this year, and I told
you the thunder we're gonna win it, and the year
before that, and the year before that and the year
before that.

Speaker 3 (59:25):
You're like a broken record.

Speaker 5 (59:27):
Man.

Speaker 4 (59:27):
I just spoke to the boss.

Speaker 2 (59:28):
He's making sure I got that summer off, the week off,
so I can go to the Knicks parade already.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Ready.

Speaker 5 (59:33):
You wouldn't take the day off anyway.

Speaker 3 (59:35):
I don't know what you're taking the week off?

Speaker 5 (59:37):
All right? When we come back to the Fox Sports
Radio studios, diving to some of your tweets, we got
college football and NFL to get to right here on
Fox Sports Radio, I went back starting playing come to
you Live from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Steve de
Seger has got an update coming up here in just
a bit. By the way, Todd Furman taking a couple

(59:59):
of weeks off before he rejoins US, but leaning towards football.
We went on, what's that vacation?

Speaker 4 (01:00:08):
Traveled anywhere to go?

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
I know, I hope everything's good with Todd Man.

Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
I missed talking to him on Sunday, Nights brank some
sanity to this year very radio program.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
I am, I'm curious.

Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
Okay, So mister Lebron's angry, he's mad, he hates everyone,
and he's not gonna play for the Lakers next year.

Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
Then where does he play? I think it's gonna be Cleveland.
I just don't know how they're gonna work it out.
I mean, obviously, every time they come up with a
new contract situation, you put the kebash on that they're
not gonna trade after they're not going to bring in
that trade half the team to bring in Lebron because
obviously they're close to go to the NBA Championship. It's
between the Nicks and Cleveland, to say, because of the

(01:00:46):
problems with Indiana and Boston next year, so they feel
like they have a good chance even without Lebron.

Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
He could go and stay in Los Angeles and go
to the Clippers.

Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
That way, kind of stick it to the Lakers every
time they play and you know, go after them. And
I think in the back of his mind that'd be
his number one choice, is to go to the Clippers.
And I think Golden State's a little bit of a
long shot. Also, if they can finally figure out how
to work that out.

Speaker 5 (01:01:11):
Are you gonna be okay though?

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
When he tips off the season as a Laker?

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
That's not gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
You want to bet your job on it?

Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Oh, I promise you, And I'm just kidding about that.
I don't think that's gonna happen. I think it's time
for him to move on, and they're gonna figure out
a way to make a move on.

Speaker 4 (01:01:27):
I definitely think it's going to be his last year.

Speaker 5 (01:01:30):
What if, by some crazy circumstance, he just wants to
finish up as a Laker?

Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
Well, Mark Medina said that, So that means he's going
to retire after this year, Becau.

Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
They're not going to give him an extension, right, No, no, Arnie.

Speaker 5 (01:01:44):
He's gonna be forty two years old at the end
of the year, right, forty one forty two?

Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Right? So you think this could be his last year.

Speaker 5 (01:01:50):
I mean, you're the one that's always telling me that
he wants to get into ownership, and he's got all
these other things. It's life.

Speaker 4 (01:01:55):
I think if it was possible for him to own
the new Las.

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
Vegas franchise and play, I think he would do that
next year and finish, but you're not gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
Get an expansion franchise playing in twenty six.

Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
No, you can't get it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
You can't get it quick enough unless they can figure
out wait, unless they could figure out the started somewhere else,
kind of like what the A's are doing now, playing
somewhere else before they get to Las Vegas, then maybe
that's a possibility.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
I don't know if.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
It's to stop it. You're not gonna have a magical.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
Every idea I come up with, because it's not.

Speaker 5 (01:02:27):
Gonna start an expansion franchise them in another city.

Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
You're gonna have to have an expansion draft.

Speaker 5 (01:02:32):
You can it's a two to three year ramp up
for Look at what they had to do with Seattle. Yeah,
Seattle and Utah and the NHL. It took at least
a one year ramp up to it. They're magically just
gonna start. It's like, all right, listen, Lebron's gonna be
the GM and play for Vegas and he's gonna own
him and they're gonna start playing next year. But we're
gonna start him playing in Sacramento. No, they can't start

(01:02:53):
playing next year in Vegas. That's the that's my album there.
They're not ready to go ahead and host it, though
I think they should. They've got an arena, they have
an arena. But I was talking to some people and
they're like, no, they're not ready. They're still a couple
of years out from from having age. I'm just saying
this idea that you think that magically, just he'll be
able to own a team and they'll be playing texture

(01:03:13):
as an expansion franchise. I mean, but that this doesn't
happen in sports gonna be You're going to be so
upset whenever he starts the season with the Lakers and
they're actually good, Everyone's gonna lose their minds, like, why
are they winning games they're supposed to suck. Now, I'm
not sitting here telling you DeAndre Ayton's going to be
all that great. But he didn't get a text from Lebron,
So apparently that means that Lebron's not going to be there.

Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Right, Oh, do you think that's not a big deal either?

Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
Then?

Speaker 4 (01:03:38):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
That's that's no big deal that he didn't go ahead
and say congratulations on joining us with the Lakers. I'm
looking forward to playing with you. That doesn't bother you
at all, yeah, not at all.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
Go play the game. What are we in eighth grade?
Did you send the congratulatory text? Did you send? Then?

Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
I said the congratulatory text to Mary and to Ian
when they joined the show.

Speaker 5 (01:04:00):
You act like you don't know who is every single time.

Speaker 4 (01:04:04):
When you guys joined the show. Did I not say congratulations,
welcome to the show?

Speaker 5 (01:04:09):
What I mean?

Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
I say congratulations?

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Asked you a question?

Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
I didn't know what you said?

Speaker 7 (01:04:14):
When did we join the show?

Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
I have no idea? My point, yes, I have no idea.

Speaker 5 (01:04:20):
Steve the Sager comes rolling in. He's got everything that's
going on in the world of Psie.

Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
I congratulated the Saga when he joined the show.

Speaker 7 (01:04:27):
Don't recall that either.

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
I said congratulations the saga. Now you made it to
the big time.

Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
That's right.

Speaker 7 (01:04:33):
Any show with Arnie equals big time exactly. By the way,
Arnie knowing the complete and full negative emotions of one
Lebron James did remind me of a classic line from
old TV.

Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Speaker 7 (01:04:49):
Ah, the Incredible Hulk, you remember, I love that.

Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
I love that.

Speaker 7 (01:04:52):
Arnie just knows he can see it. Before the eyes
change and then it becomes great.

Speaker 2 (01:04:56):
Didn't he just see when somebody says, I said, I'm
not gonna talk about it, man, But that means a mash?

Speaker 5 (01:05:03):
What is that?

Speaker 7 (01:05:04):
That's that is just wrong?

Speaker 5 (01:05:07):
Is that the correct way wrong? Yeah? Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:05:10):
At the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League, it's usually eight
games a day. None of them will apparently involve Cooper
Flag for the next week. The Dallas Rookie is reportedly
being shut down after playing two games there. The Mavericks
on Saturday lost a low scoring game to the Spurs.
The final was seventy six sixty nine, but Flag had
thirty one of the sixty nine points. This league started Thursday.
It goes from July tenth to the twentieth. The Celtics

(01:05:33):
today beat the Next ninety four to eighty one. New
York guard Tyler Kolloch from Marquette one of thirteen shooting
from the floor. Toronto beat Orlando eighty nine eighty six
for the Magic. Jace Richardson at Michigan State nineteen points.
The Nets drew. Timmy from Gonzaga scored thirty points. Tonight,
Washington did beat Brooklyn one oh two ninety six and
in the late game for the Utah Jazz Kyle Philipowski

(01:05:56):
with fourteen points from three point range. He is one
of six so far. Max Aismis is in this game,
Ladies and gentlemen from well, he's from Texas, but of
course wasn't He had Oral Roberts before that small cover.

Speaker 5 (01:06:10):
The most awkwardly spelled name with the produnciation that follows it.

Speaker 7 (01:06:15):
Last name ab Mas spelled asmiths.

Speaker 5 (01:06:19):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:06:20):
He has seven points for Utah and under three minutes
to go. Utah down ninety three eighty two Golden State.
We had four w NBA games. Indiana beat Dallas one
O two eighty three, Dallas six and sixteen. They do
have rookie Page Beckers. She had twenty one points, but
Erik Agunbowale, who has never met a shot she doesn't like.

(01:06:41):
Oh of ten from the four go. Caitlin Clark fourteen points,
thirteen assists, five steals in the Indiana win. She has
still struggled from three point range. It was one of
seven on Friday, two of seven from long distance.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Today.

Speaker 7 (01:06:56):
She just returned from injury on Wednesday. She had missed
five straight games with the groin andrey. She is one
of the captains for this Saturday is WNBA All Star Game,
which will be in Indianapolis. New York Liberty fourteen and
six got a comeback win against Atlanta seventy nine seventy
two after being down by nineteen in the first half,
and they won the game even though New York All

(01:07:16):
Stars Sabrina Ynescu shot three of twenty from the floor.
LA is up to seven and fourteen after beating lowly
Connecticut ninety two eighty eight. Kelsey Plum of LA twenty
three points. It is strange seeing a Connecticut women's basketball
team this bad. Three to eighteen is the booker. How
long does it take for Yukon to actually lose eighteen games?

(01:07:37):
Many years Washington won at Seattle seventy four to sixty nine.
Cleveland Brown's rookie running back quin Shawn Judkins is facing
a misdemeanor domestic battery charge in Florida. He's out after
spending Saturday night in jail. At the Women's Euro Soccer Tournaments,
It's going to be on Fox TV when the quarterfinals
start on Wednesday, Italy against Norway and then England plays

(01:07:58):
Thursday in a quarterfinal against England wrapped up group play
today with a six to one victory over Wales. Outshot
him twenty four to six and England had seventy seven
percent of the possession in the game. France beat Netherlands
five to two. Janick Center, the Wimbledon champion, in four
close sets. The number one beats the number two. Carlos Alcarez.
Center has been in the finals in each of the

(01:08:19):
last four majors. Cinner swept Novak Djokovic in the Semis
this week. Alcarez had won twenty four straight matches and
he had never lost a major final before he was
five and zero. We mentioned a last night show that
the women's final wound up six love, six love for
Egos Fiontek. People paid, I'm sure top dollar to see

(01:08:40):
the Wimbledon Women's final and it was over in fifty
seven minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (01:08:46):
The loser, Amanda and Nissimova of the US. Apparently, since
nineteen eleven, only one women's final in a major had
ended with a six love six love score. That was
a Stepfie Groff win in Paris nineteen eighty eight. We'll
get to baseball in a few minutes. Back to you thanks, Dave.

Speaker 5 (01:09:00):
We got the dissegment coming up here in just a
big By the way, were you fighting with Jason Martin
like you're fighting with me tonight with Jason Martin, No,
you don't. You're nice to everyone else.

Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
We fight about everything, no matter what I said. Matter
of fact, I had somebody A lot of people treated
me going Jason Martin just didn't get it.

Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
You know the same thing with you about the whole
Cooper flag that yere both completely wrong on that.

Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
I see your missions. I'm seeing none of that here.

Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
Too, all over the place.

Speaker 5 (01:09:27):
I don't disagree with you that I think he's going
to be an outstanding player. I think he's going to
be really good. I think he's gonna be fun. I
think Dallas is gonna be good. To say that he
becomes the face of the league after two two summer
league games seems a little over the top to me.

Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
He's gonna be Larry Bird, Magic Johnson. That's what he's
going to do again. A little over the top here.

Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
I'm glad the shows today. But you know, maybe in
twenty years you could say I was wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
We'll see.

Speaker 5 (01:09:55):
Well, I hope I'm not doing this in twenty years,
but I will say congratulations in advance. But boy, you
really look like a fool in advance too. So you
pick either one of those that you want to clip
into the future in twenty years from now. Because Buddy,
I mean off two games against NBA competition.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
I bet you you'll talk more about Cooper Flagg than
the other person in the NBA this year.

Speaker 5 (01:10:23):
Well, I'll win that bet because I live in a
city that actually watches the NBA and has a good team,
and we'll talk a hell a lot more about Chat
Holmgren and Shay Gilgess Alexander's.

Speaker 4 (01:10:32):
Field, Oklahoma, where I'll be moving to soon hopefully.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Good luck man, great price is down here.

Speaker 4 (01:10:37):
You'll love it, love to be right next to you.
Right well, I.

Speaker 5 (01:10:39):
Would like for you to be here so you could
actually watch some good sports. I want you to see
some teams that actually win at some point nature boy, right, Hey,
how about a lebron for Bronson and Kat reunion with Luca.

Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
Don't even you know.

Speaker 2 (01:10:53):
I don't want take that off Twitter. I don't want
to even people kid around like that. That's very insulting
in her hurtful to me.

Speaker 5 (01:11:00):
I don't want you don't want you know, you're sitting
here talking about how angry Lebron is and how he's
being mistreated.

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
Well, I mean bring him to New York. We'll take Cat.

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
No, no, I'm not trading Cat. I'm not trading Brunson.
I'm not trading anybody. Okay, I don't want anybody.

Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
We're good, all.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Right, Stop just leave me alone. I'm gonna be in
the NBA Finals next year. I'm already planning on going
to the parade. Boston's done, Indiana's done. All we have
to do is get by Cleveland. We know that's not
gonna be a big deal. So I'm feeling good about myself.

Speaker 5 (01:11:33):
For trash for a team that celebrated and was climbing
up billboards for making the Eastern Conference finals.

Speaker 2 (01:11:40):
We made it to the Eastern Conference with baby steps.
So now a new coach in place, it'll take us
to the NBA Finals. I'm ready to win an win,
an NBA championship.

Speaker 3 (01:11:49):
So you're saying you're fired up about the Mike Brown hiring.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
Oh, come on, now, he brings that NBA championship experience. Uh, Mike,
every time I get a new coach, you think that it's.

Speaker 11 (01:12:02):
Garbage, like, oh, you're excited about this hiring, you're excited
about that hiring.

Speaker 5 (01:12:06):
Because you usually end up dumping on him after about
five months. So that's just kind of what I'm waiting for.
Mike McDaniel was the same game, and I love that hire.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
But now I'm I never said I like McDaniel. I
told you from the very start that guy was in
over his head. I told you from the beginning about that.

Speaker 3 (01:12:21):
I don't know about that.

Speaker 5 (01:12:22):
I think I think that you were all in on
him being an offensive genius.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
I think is what was two years to figure out
who he was. I just thought he was somebody's uncle
the sideline. I'm like, oh, that's the coach. You know
that for two years.

Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
Julian Right.

Speaker 5 (01:12:36):
So Lebum isn't angry, he is ceaselessly, which is a
wild way to use it, arrogant. Goodbye Lebron, get out
of Los Angeles. Pre please, Here was the michae Leprechawn tweet.
He right, send Lebron James to the Celtics for one year.
They have lots of salary cap room left over after
they dumped their squad after last season. They hate Lebron

(01:12:57):
in Boston, but he would quickly turn the fans around
if shipped off to bust.

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
The new owners don't want him in Boston either. They're
trying to cut salary either. They're gonna I thought they
were gonna get rid of Jaylen Brown. To be honest
with you, I'm surprised that he's going to be coming
back to the Celtics.

Speaker 5 (01:13:13):
I gotta have some people left.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Well, I don't This would have been a good time
to make moves because nobody's expecting to do anything anyway,
so you might as well cut.

Speaker 3 (01:13:20):
Start all over and cut everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
No, but he's gonna demand a lot of money on
He's gonna get like the max extension.

Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
Is he gonna be worth it? That's the question?

Speaker 5 (01:13:29):
Who is truly worth the max extend? SGA Right now,
Jason B Diamond, Lebron was at home, grin. I promise
you that Lebron was watching his son play. He doesn't
sound angry. I guess Arnie would do an interview doing
during Shay's NHL debut.

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
Yeah, I would do a lot better interview if my
you know, they asked me, hey, what do you think
say is right now?

Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
Having a shutout after two periods.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
I said, damn righty is looking at defense in front
of them. Their playing great out there, the offense looks good.
Got the best coach in the world.

Speaker 4 (01:14:02):
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (01:14:02):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:14:03):
And then uh then I not interview you like that?

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Huh yeah, that'd be great. And then Superstar Dad right on.

Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Talking about me on every talk show the next day
about that.

Speaker 5 (01:14:13):
Well, because that's your you do want to be LeVar ball.
Isn't that your ultimate goal? Uh?

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Superstar Dad?

Speaker 4 (01:14:20):
Right.

Speaker 5 (01:14:20):
Arnie's way off again. Bronnie comes off as very likable
through interviews. He is actually the opposite of his dad,
comes off as humble and lunch pale.

Speaker 4 (01:14:29):
He does come off as humble. I will say that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
No, I'm the one that says he's he is a
likable guy. He's a good looking guy. He should smile
and get more people to like him and win them
on over. I totally I like Bronnie.

Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
I really do. I think he is a humble and
and you know, goes about it the right way.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
All right, it is signed for the dis segment, and
it is next with Arnie and Plank right here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:14:55):
Oh does that time?

Speaker 5 (01:14:57):
Steve de Seger comes rolling into the Fox Sports radio studios.
It's become known as the segment What's going on Steve.

Speaker 7 (01:15:05):
Hello, guys the Scottish Open. When the tune up for
the British Open was finished up today and Rory McElroy did.

Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
Not win it, that's right, sooner legend Chris got her up,
baby by rumor sooner he said he heard a lot
of go Rory.

Speaker 7 (01:15:19):
Didn't hear a lot of go Chris. Look, of course,
never do a little bit of a I don't know villain,
as he put himself. Anyway, the Open Championship starts in
a few days. But more importantly, of course, we had
the annual Lake Tahoe event with celebrity golf ex of
the NHL. Joe Pavelski the winner and John Smoltz finished second.
Steph Curry was fifth place, his dad Dale Curry twenty seventh,

(01:15:42):
and Seth Curry, his brother, tied for thirtieth out of
the what ninety golfers they had. We mentioned last night
on the show the woman who finished dead last in
Lake Tahoe in this golf tournament is employed on the
air for the network that carried the golf.

Speaker 5 (01:15:58):
So Rich Eisen was there for a couple of rounds.
So did he get out of it?

Speaker 7 (01:16:04):
Tied for eighty eighth out of ninety So he was
much worse than Charles Barkley.

Speaker 5 (01:16:09):
Horrible.

Speaker 7 (01:16:10):
Actually, Barkley was in the top thirty after day one,
finished sixty ninth place, tight end George Kittle eighty first,
quarterback Baker Mayfield eighty third, Jason Kelsey eighty sixth. Grant
Hill was eighty seventh. But you got guys who kind
of are golfers like John Smoltz in the top ten
and Tony Romo finished eighth.

Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
At lake Time.

Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
Romo's a good golfer.

Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
Is absolutely beautiful location. It is just a stunningly great
place to be and just to view it. It really
comes through every year every summer when they are there.
At the live golf event in Spain, Taylor Gooch, the winner,
may not have heard of him, but he's four million
dollars richer, because anyone who wins a live golf event
takes home four million dollars. Thank you. He wins byak

(01:16:56):
by way? Is it really a one by one stroke?
Over John Rawn in Spain? At the LPGA Major in France,
Grace Kim, the winner in a playoff. Now, we did
have the FIFA Club World Cup wind up with the
final in New Jersey. This was a soccer tournament, not
the World Cup, which is national teams next summer, but
the US hosted this now thirty two team tournament, the

(01:17:18):
Club World Cup. Best professional side to be decided. Chelsea
the winner, three nothing over Paris and Drama, a surprise
shutout all three goals in the first half. Attendance was
eighty one thousand.

Speaker 3 (01:17:29):
Wow.

Speaker 7 (01:17:30):
And this is Paris and Erman team that just recently
won the Euro title had easily won at semifinal this
past week against Real Madrid for zip. But they both
are rolling in money because there's a lot of Saudi
cash coming in that was infused into this tournament and people,
let's just say we're happy to participate because of the

(01:17:50):
amount of in the prize pool. Just in the group stage,
any soccer tournament, you play three games initially against the
other teams in your group. This Chelsea squad two wins,
one loss, four million dollars they have to split, and
then they went to the round of sixteen. That's another
seven and a half million for advancing put me on
the team and reaching the quarterfinals added up another thirteen

(01:18:13):
million dollars, and then the next round about twenty million more.
Winning their semifinal this week added another thirty million to
their pot, and so even before they won today they
were at about ninety million dollars to split for Chelsea
and in fact, the loser of the final wound up
a total of over one hundred million domes. So yes,

(01:18:35):
part of the same fund that goes to fund Live
Golf and the Crazy Money, same type of money that
went here. By the way, Alex Polow, the IndyCar winner
at Iowa on Fox, already his seventh victory this season.
The IndyCar record is ten wins in a year. Below
became the first driver since Alanser Junior in nineteen ninety
four to win seven of the first twelve races of

(01:18:57):
a season. There was a Saturday race there as well.
Panto Award took that the next IndyCar race on the
streets of Toronto next Sunday on Fox TV. The NASCAR
event was a road course, so of course the winner
was Shane van Gisbergen. This was at Sonoma. He was
second in the race there the Xfinity event on Saturday,
but this is the guy that just won the street
race at Chicago last weekend and at Sonoma today he

(01:19:20):
led ninety seven of the one hundred and ten laps.
Chase Briscoe finished second where officially at All Star Break
for Major League Baseball, the Home Run Derby is in
Atlanta Monday, and Georgia native Byron Buxton to the Twins
due to be in its along with O'Neil Cruz. We'll
see cal Raleigh James Wood, a good looking rookie from
Washington first round. The top four home run totals tomorrow

(01:19:43):
will go to the Semis and so on. They replaced
Ronald Acuna with another Atlanta Brave, Matt Olsen for tomorrow night.
Fox TV has the All Star Game itself on Tuesday night.
The starting pitchers are Detroit's Trek Scoobel and the Pirates
Paul Skens.

Speaker 4 (01:19:58):
Again, what how does that start? Like eight thirty something?

Speaker 7 (01:20:00):
Yeah, all of the stuff around eight pm Eastern time.
You know, they say eight Eastern for the Home Run Derby,
But of course there will be chit chat in time
between rounds.

Speaker 4 (01:20:08):
Of course.

Speaker 7 (01:20:09):
You know, if you're taping it on your TV guide,
it'll probably a lot two hours it's never finished in
two hours, you know, comes up on your screen. I
don't mean Arnie, the actual TV guy that comes in
the Nlso.

Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
I love that thing, man h.

Speaker 7 (01:20:26):
The Miami Marlins were eleven to one winners at Baltimore today.
Kyle Stowers, who was once in Oriel, had three homers.
He went five for five with six RBIs. Seattle hit
five solo homers in their game at Detroit eight for
the final thanks to four runs in the top of
the nights. Tigers have lost four straight. The Mariners are
second in the AL West, five games behind Houston, which

(01:20:47):
lost at home five to one to Texas. Nathan Evaldi
seven and three beat Hunter Brown nine and four. The
Dodgers had lost seven games in a row until winning
at San Francisco Saturday. They beat the Giants again today
in eleven innings.

Speaker 5 (01:21:00):
Thanks Steve and the All Star Break is here. The
All Star Break is here.

Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Hey. By the way, download the new iHeart Radio app.

Speaker 5 (01:21:08):
It's all new and improved with an opportunity for you
to have Fox Sports Radio as one of your presets,
just like the presets on your radio dial. Be sure
to preset Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app and
it will always pop up right at the top of
your screen.

Speaker 1 (01:21:24):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Power Hour, Power Go Hour.

Speaker 5 (01:21:31):
Here we go, and we haven't really touched on football
outside of you Cram and the Dolphins down our throat
a lot to get to here in the final hour,
All Star break is here, and I don't know why
I've waited so wrong, so long to hit Roman numeral
number eight? How do you feel about the automated balls
and strikes on Tuesday night?

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
I was wrong about that. The SEGA corrected me on
that they're we're going to use that. I mean, you
could use that for challenges, but right, it's not going
to be used in every call, right, and.

Speaker 3 (01:22:02):
You can challenge and if you get it right, then
you get more challenges.

Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
I'm ready for automated balls and strikes in Major League
Baseball games the regular season. I'm ready for them to
call all the balls and strikes. I mean, obviously the
umpires are gonna have to be behind on plate to
let you know what the computer called or whatever it is.
But I think I'm ready for the automated balls and
strikes now.

Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
I think we're at that point.

Speaker 3 (01:22:27):
Dumb question and maybe we need to Seger's help on this.

Speaker 5 (01:22:31):
But if you have automatic balls and strikes, the umps
are still there to call the plays. The basis right.

Speaker 7 (01:22:38):
Absolutely. That's why this should never be called robo umps
because you still have the home plate umpire calling every
ball end strike and administering the game and safe out
at home. But this is what we saw in the
spring training test at the major league level. It's been
a few years in the minors and been used in
Triple A since twenty twenty two, but the ABS system

(01:22:58):
automatic ball strikes to uh yeah, you can have challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
You get when the Tuesday you have to know when
to throw the ball down on the second base of
an attempted steal, whether that was strike three or ball three,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 7 (01:23:11):
Yes, so you had the initial call. It's just each
team will get two challenges if you keep them. If
you're successful, you can keep going. But it's the dugout.
Can't challenge the other players that aren't part of the pitch.
Can't challenge just pitcher, a catcher or the batter. You
tap the top of your helmet or your your hat
and you say no, no, stop the game. Briefly, I

(01:23:31):
want to challenge, no other help, just those three positions allowed.

Speaker 3 (01:23:35):
Well, we know this much.

Speaker 5 (01:23:36):
They'll challenge something in the first inning because that's how
ballers are.

Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
I mean, have you watched an NBA game?

Speaker 5 (01:23:42):
I mean literally, tip off, a ball goes out of bounds,
player Joe Biden.

Speaker 7 (01:23:48):
This is what was great about spring training is these
challenge delays. They weren't delays at all. It was pretty brief.

Speaker 4 (01:23:54):
All very brief. You have very brief on that.

Speaker 5 (01:23:57):
I like that. I like it. It makes me, uh,
kudos to baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:24:02):
Yeah, but I want up calling him every pitch. I
don't think I made that clear. I think every pitch
should be automated.

Speaker 4 (01:24:08):
Boss.

Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
We'll get there. I'm sure we'll get there at some point.

Speaker 5 (01:24:11):
Maybe not in our lifetime, but I'm sure it's coming,
and I'm sure it'll come to a point whenever you'll
have an automated call on a play at the plate
or plate first base. But for now, I feel like
you step in the right direction.

Speaker 7 (01:24:23):
There is a union for the umpires too, you know
that's true. I don't see that ever being eliminated.

Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
I hope you're right.

Speaker 5 (01:24:30):
I'm here with I don't want to see the robo
umps right, which is incorrect in this instance, but.

Speaker 7 (01:24:35):
You still got a call safer out there are plays
at the plate. I mean, you still got to have
somebody standing there.

Speaker 5 (01:24:40):
There'll be some sort of like laser being well, at
least being the reading of it said that the micro
chip that's in your pants said that you slid in
and you were tagged.

Speaker 7 (01:24:50):
Allogi can be great. Like at the World Cup, they
do have the micro chip in the soccer ball to
if it goes over the goal line. Finally, in the NFL,
we're going to get the first down of how we
measure a first down. That's going to be completely different
this year.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
They put the camera on the cone, the touchdown cone
or whatever it is, the flag there, the pylon, yeah whatever, Wow,
close enough, man, we.

Speaker 5 (01:25:16):
Were just helping you out. We were jumping down your throat.
But I like touchdown cone more than pylon. Speaking of pylons,
but I don't think people.

Speaker 7 (01:25:24):
Will talk about this when we get closer to football.
I don't think people realize that the hawkeye system that
we've seen on major tennis tournaments that's going to be
used to measure first downs in the NFL. Now, the
chain gangs will be there, but they're just kind of
standing by. They may never actually walk on the field anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:25:42):
I gotta tell you something, we have the Hawkeye system
in baseball and softball this year in the SEC. It's
pretty phenomenal and and and it's if it's the same
system that they used. Now, don't get me wrong, there's
still things that are up for debate, and there's still
questions that come up, and you never know if it's
one hundred percent right. But if that's the same system

(01:26:04):
that you mentioned in tennis and that we saw that
the SEC has used in baseball and basketball and in softball,
if that's what's in this year for the NFL game on,
it's gonna be much smoother.

Speaker 7 (01:26:16):
The cameras that they're supposed to use tracking the ball's
position compared to the first down position. Not four K cameras,
it's eight K cameras, six of them.

Speaker 2 (01:26:26):
Geez, How do you know when it's like fourth in
inches and the quarterback there's a quarterback sneak and it's
down there and there's like a ten guys on top
of you. I don't know how the cameras are going
to figure. Well, you said there's gonna be a chip
in the football's out of the well.

Speaker 7 (01:26:40):
You still got the guy the referee. They are on
the back, still running things and still spotting footballs.

Speaker 2 (01:26:47):
Is that the eighty year old guy with contact?

Speaker 7 (01:26:50):
The system's going to notify the on field people. Okay,
this is the outcome of our system's measurement.

Speaker 5 (01:26:56):
Move on with the game, Yeah, exactly. Hey, uh speaking
of moving on with the game? Yeah, Roman numeral number
six and number seven.

Speaker 4 (01:27:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:27:06):
We had our first media days.

Speaker 5 (01:27:08):
And for those of you unfamiliar with my beloved college football,
shout out to my guy Shady Sean best promoter of
this program. Super dude hates college everything. Never seen anything
like it. But we had big twelve media days last week.
We got SEC media Day starting this they.

Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
Take it away, the Big twelve predictions or something like
that that I read that right, Chris.

Speaker 4 (01:27:29):
Or what you know what they took away they took away.

Speaker 5 (01:27:33):
I don't know why you asked stupid about this, but
you know exactly what they took away. They took away
the preseason poll. So that's why you have That's why
you have the eight thousand different simulations that you went
through for Arizona. What'd you make of coach Prime's comments
about wanning a salary cap whenever we literally just had
a salary cap implemented in college football.

Speaker 4 (01:27:52):
Yeah, I think that's great.

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
Now that the chador's not around and Travis Hunter's not around,
he wants to go to implement the salary camp.

Speaker 5 (01:27:58):
Well, but here's the funny part to me, Yeah, what
did we just implement in college football a salary cap?

Speaker 4 (01:28:04):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
What's the house settlement? It's a salary cap.

Speaker 5 (01:28:07):
And then you get in the echo chamber and everyone's like, yeah,
he's right, we need a salary cap. You just got
a salary cap put in place for college sports. So
I ask you, what was he even talking about?

Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
Well, I didn't think of it as a salary cap.
You mean you're talking about the twenty million and then
at the many salary cap. Yeah, okay, well I just
figured twenty million. But then you can still go over that.
No you can't by getting other money outside money. No,
you can't go over there.

Speaker 5 (01:28:34):
You can get nil, right, you could, just the same
way as Patrick Mahomes can go get a deal with
Adidas or a New Balance or whoever he has to
deal with.

Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
Right, That's why I didn't think of it as a
salary cap. But I understand what you're saying. I see
where you're coming from. But I'm on the on side
on this. Why no, I don't want a salary cap,
but I understand where people didn't put two and two together.

Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
I guess is what I'm saying on that, Chris.

Speaker 5 (01:28:58):
Well, But it's not. It's it's weird because I had
I had to go to really smart people, because there
were smart people to meet. They're like, yeah, he's right,
we need a salary cap.

Speaker 3 (01:29:05):
And I'm in my mind, that's what we just got.

Speaker 5 (01:29:09):
I like, literally, they paid billions of dollars to get
a capped system where it's twenty point five million, right
spread amongst however many sports you want to put under
this salary, under this number of rev share, and you
can't go above it at any nil deal. Any deal
that these guys get already has to go through a clearinghouse.

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Right to go above it. That's that's where we differ.
They can what the twenty million dollars through nil money.

Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Right right, But how do they get that nil deal?

Speaker 4 (01:29:40):
I don't know. To agents, I have no ira exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:29:43):
I mean, and I know the schools can can help
facilitate them, right exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
But again, it's just it's funny to me.

Speaker 2 (01:29:50):
How boosters, I mean boosters if they're going to give
nil deals and then they probably because from the coach
or something, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:29:57):
No, they have to prove that it's through an actual
legitimate business entity.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
So that's where the holdup has been in all of
this right now.

Speaker 5 (01:30:07):
So I don't when if Dion's coming out and he's
saying we need a salary cap to where you're gonna
try to cap nil, Arnie, I mean, what are we
gonna We're gonna try to cap the amount of money
that I don't know why Mahomes is the only end
that's coming up, but to what can make Are you
gonna say, well, I'm sorry to it's a what's the
salary cap in the NFL, like seventy million whatever it

(01:30:29):
is right now, I'm sorry, you can't sign this shoe
deal because it's not under the salary camp. You're not
gonna be all like that in college football now, right,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
So whatever you bring up, all this college and the
money you can make and all that reminds me of
Robbie Benson. Remember that movie Robbie Benson was in who
played a basketball superstar and he was in college and
the job he got was to water the lawn the
grass three times a day, except there was automatic sprinklers anyway,
So with that that was his job.

Speaker 5 (01:30:57):
Do you know what the name of the movie was.

Speaker 4 (01:30:59):
Gosh, I can't remember off the top of my head.

Speaker 5 (01:31:01):
You know that movie came out in nineteen seventy seven.
Oh wow, One on one? There you go, one on one.

Speaker 1 (01:31:08):
That was it.

Speaker 5 (01:31:09):
There was well, and of course you had the big
issue a couple of years ago where a couple everything
is a couple of years ago, but where you had
guys Rett Beemart at Ome who got in trouble because
he worked at a car dealership and he didn't do anything.
It's like, so you work in this car dealership. Is
like yes, sir, He's like what do you do? He's
like not much?

Speaker 4 (01:31:30):
Not much.

Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
So now you're supposed to have these deliverables on these deals.

Speaker 5 (01:31:34):
But I understand I think what everyone wants more than
anything else, Arenie, is they don't want a situation like
what's happening at Texas Tech right now, right where you're
just able to go out and buy everyone you want.

Speaker 4 (01:31:44):
I don't know if that's going to stop, though.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
I mean that's what we got into you. You wanted that, Chris.
I don't mean you particularly, but you people that wanted
to go ahead and made sure the athletes got their money.

Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
Sure athletes deserve their money.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
They're making too much money a football give the athletes
to do. When we first started talking about athletes getting money,
it's because, Chris, many years ago, we were just probably
just getting on the air.

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
How many stories do we hear.

Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
All these football players they don't get to eat during
the summer. They're starving to death. They go home hungry,
and we're like, well, we can't have that. You gotta
have nobody should be starving. Remember that, Chris.

Speaker 4 (01:32:22):
There were people they're starving.

Speaker 3 (01:32:23):
Uh hungry Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:32:25):
Yeah, So exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
It was what on weekends, So let's make sure the
kids are eating. They have pocket money. That's what I
thought this was all about. Let them go get a pizza,
go to a movie, go bowling, have a little pocket money,
five six hundred dollars a week. I didn't think we
were talking three year, five million dollar guarantee.

Speaker 6 (01:32:45):
No.

Speaker 5 (01:32:45):
I don't know if anyone really truly, did ye be
honest with you?

Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
That didn't come to fruition For me. I didn't see
it coming like this. And now that we've opened up
the whole can, now you want to try to get
the you know, you want the toothpaste back into tube,
and it doesn't work that way. They're gonna get their
money and there's no way of stopping this. And the
next thing now is gonna be the guaranteed contracts. That's
gonna be the way of the future. Whoever's gonna give

(01:33:09):
somebody two or three year guaranteed contracts.

Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
I disagree on that. I don't think guaranteed contracts are
gonna be the way of the future. Well, I think
I think it will be at places like Texas Tech
and Arizona where no one wants to go play football.
But it places like Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma, Florida State, I
don't think they're gonna have to be given guys three
years guaranteed contract And by the way, your boy that
you had on last week that was spewing his ignorance

(01:33:34):
about a five million dollar deal, Arnie, what do we
come to find out it wasn't a five million dollar deal?
And it's not close to it.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Yeah, it was like what seven or eight hundred thousand
dollars a year, but the exactly more nil money after that,
which I really didn't understand how that was working out,
to be honust with you. I just math was mathing, Yeah, exactly.
The math wasn't mathing up there. But I do figure that.
You know, like, if Texas wanted to get arch Manning,

(01:34:03):
they would have to give him a three year deal,
wouldn't they. I mean that's the way. They're not gonna
get him on a one year deal, are they, Chris?

Speaker 5 (01:34:10):
Yes, they are. I mean the only reason Felix Ojo
is going to Texas Tech right.

Speaker 4 (01:34:18):
Now because they bid everybody, out.

Speaker 5 (01:34:20):
Bid everybody, right, Texas and Oklahoma and Georgia and I'll
go there. They're not going to get in that game
of guaranteeing guys three year deals. It's just not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
Would you want the big name and you are you
want that big quarterback, or you want that number one
guy that's the number one rank?

Speaker 3 (01:34:36):
God, what happens when you go to Texas Tech and
you don't win anything?

Speaker 4 (01:34:40):
Well, they say they're he guaranteed. He said they were
gonna get to you.

Speaker 3 (01:34:45):
Hey, where were they picked in the Big twelve standings?

Speaker 9 (01:34:48):
Just in.

Speaker 4 (01:34:50):
We looked that up.

Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
They were, Uh, they're one of four four teams there.
Four teams are the favorite to win, all with the
same mod's.

Speaker 4 (01:34:58):
I think they were like plus five one or something
like that.

Speaker 5 (01:35:01):
Yeah. Yeah, And whenever they went through the coaches and
they did an in former Polly, they were picked fifth.

Speaker 4 (01:35:07):
Oh were they? I didn't know that. I had no idea. No,
I didn't know.

Speaker 5 (01:35:10):
So, I mean, top four, we'll see. I just I
don't think that guaranteed contracts in the future. I think
certain people will do it, and I think some people
are going to go to college and it's gonna be
all about the money. Arnie. You can make seven hundred
grant and have a one year deal at Oklahoma and
then renegotiate the next year and renegotiate the next year.

Speaker 4 (01:35:27):
Argue.

Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
I thought that was I thought that's for somebody maybe
that didn't you know, is not the big name that's
to prove himtuff on the field, that over you know,
that put up big numbers and like, Okay, this guy
is the real deal. Then somebody like that could renegotiate
his contract.

Speaker 5 (01:35:41):
Everyone can renegotiate their contract if they have a one
year deal. You have a three year deal, and now
you're locked in if you've got a guaranteed deal on
that front, Like, how good of a deal is that?

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Well, not based on what that agent said that you
get more nil money.

Speaker 4 (01:35:54):
I guess if you're going to put a big number.

Speaker 3 (01:35:55):
That's on him to go out and negotiate it for him.

Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
That's true, that's one hundred percent true.

Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
I'm sure there's a lot of people that would like
to hire that kid if he puts up big you.

Speaker 4 (01:36:03):
Know, big money to tackles.

Speaker 5 (01:36:05):
So I don't know how he's going to put a
big number. Is there anything that make sure?

Speaker 4 (01:36:07):
Though? He is a tackle?

Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
I mean, you know, are you gonna be able to
get your money back on that type of position?

Speaker 4 (01:36:13):
He's not a quarterback or anything.

Speaker 5 (01:36:14):
Well, I will say, though, the great thing about next
week and the great thing about this past week is
we're getting past the point of what the playoffs should
look like. Well, I say that Greg Sankie's gonna speak
tomorrow at eight am Central Time, not am Eastern.

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
He's the commissioner of the SEC.

Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
So he's going to give you a pretty good idea
of where the SEC stands and what they want in
the playoffs, because we don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
Do you know what the playoff structure is for twenty
twenty six?

Speaker 4 (01:36:37):
Are he They went over it a lot of times.
I still don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:36:40):
Yeah, it's not set yet. You're fine, don't worry. It's
not set yet. They haven't decided it. And then you
got Big ten Mindia Days where Tony Petiti's gonna give
you his take, and you got acc Dight, the only
league that has come out and said this is what
we want. If there's anything that we took from Big
twelve Media Days, it's that the your Mark the commissioner
came out and said, we went five and eleven. By
that they mean five automatic qualifiers from conference champions and

(01:37:03):
eleven at large. Bitch, they won a sixteen team league,
a right sixteen team championship. That's the only thing we
know that anyone wants right now. But eventually we got
to get into a conversation about twenty twenty five right
in the games and how it's gonna play out.

Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
Eventually we got to get into these fights and these.

Speaker 5 (01:37:19):
Battles over winning totals and who's actually going to be
the team to beat this year? Aren't we sooner or later?

Speaker 4 (01:37:26):
I would think that would be coming up.

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
By the way, I thought they did make changes to
the way teams, so those teams like Boise.

Speaker 4 (01:37:34):
Weren't going to get any buys or anything like that.
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:37:37):
That's twenty yeah, that's this year. They've gone straight seeding. Yes,
they haven't made There is no format set for twenty
twenty six.

Speaker 4 (01:37:43):
I gotcha, gotcha on that all right?

Speaker 5 (01:37:45):

Speaker 3 (01:38:28):
I noticed that in.

Speaker 5 (01:38:30):
The Roman Numeral Rundown tonight, Arnie, you did not have
many good NFL stories. You said, you're well, I mean,
look at what you had. What'd you have?

Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
You have the Dolphins?

Speaker 4 (01:38:40):
That the Dolphins in there. That was ed Patrick Mahomes
in there.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
Yeah, you called him fat.

Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
I didn't call him fat a fan, did I don't
think it was a fan. I think it was a podcaster,
Adrian Peterson. I had him in there.

Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Why'd you have a d in there?

Speaker 4 (01:38:53):
Because he's gonna fight that guy that he got into
a fight with.

Speaker 5 (01:38:56):
So he's gonna fight that guy that he got to
fight with. Yeah, huh, But you don't have the big
story from the NFL this week. The Bears extended their
general manager.

Speaker 3 (01:39:09):
But he hasn't done anything yet.

Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
I know, I heard everybody talking about that this week.
I'm like, Ohan, that's played out there.

Speaker 5 (01:39:16):
Oh you think it's played out Okay, Well I thought
it was. Let's get back to Cooper Flag being the
face of it.

Speaker 9 (01:39:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
I saw everybody get all bent out of shape on that.
I was kind of laughing at the Bears fans because
I really didn't understand why he didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:39:30):
He have a couple of years.

Speaker 2 (01:39:30):
Left on his contract anyway, so I'm not really sure
why everything came down now. It wasn't like he deserved it,
But I expect good things from the Bears. Everybody will
laugh this off and think it was a good deal
done because the Bears will have a good season this year.

Speaker 5 (01:39:46):
He had two years remaining on his original five year
deal when he was hired in twenty twenty two. But
I don't know, dude, It's all on Caleb Williams and
Ben Johnson, right, the crashes they make. Let's face it,
the NFC North not an easy division. But the Lions
have got to replace two coordinators, and I know you

(01:40:08):
don't care about coordinators. The Vikings are going to go
with JJ McCarthy. You never know, so they might not
be as good as they were last year. And I
think the Packers kind of have. I think they're kind
of in that mode of like the Steelers are, where
you can count on them to get your winning record
but not really do much of the playoffs, right, That's
been their.

Speaker 2 (01:40:27):
Mo Yeah, I don't want to spoil the season for anybody,
So you might want to turn down the sound real quick.
Don't put that the Lions are one of the teams
I have guaranteed winning the division. Remember when I said
six of the eight teams are round one the division,
the Lions are one of them. The only two divisions
that haven't been decided coming into this year is the
NFC South.

Speaker 4 (01:40:47):
And the NFC West. Those are the only two divisions.

Speaker 3 (01:40:51):
Yeah, I was about ready to say too.

Speaker 5 (01:40:53):
So you're not worried at all about a new defensive
coordinator and a new offensive coordinator in Detroit.

Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
That doesn't worry you at all?

Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
Did I stutter? Did I stutter on that?

Speaker 2 (01:41:02):
No, they're they're gonna win Minnesota, gonna have a new quarterback,
Green Bay. They really never scare me. I think the
Bears are gonna have a good year and probably finished second.
But it's the Lions division already, they clinch it.

Speaker 4 (01:41:13):
That's a done deal.

Speaker 5 (01:41:15):
Well, why are we even getting excited about the NFL?
Then I said, it's not gonna all. Everybody that is
excited about the NFL, don't get too excited. Six of
the eight divisions have been decided, so you'll have to
concentrate and you'll enjoy the playoffs. Just the divisional races
not gonna be so exciting this year. So you got
don't play in the messenger, right, So you've got the Eagles,

(01:41:37):
the Lions, what the Buccaneers.

Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
The Eagles and the Lions. In the NFC, the South
and the West are the only two that are up
for grabs. The AFC is already done. The Chiefs, the Texans,
the Ravens, and the Bills already have won their divisions.

Speaker 4 (01:41:53):
They're they're already done. All those teams.

Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
I may bet all those sixteen put a little parlay together,
one hundred dollars sixteen divisional parlay.

Speaker 5 (01:42:04):
I think that's you know, you can get on your
phone and actually make that bet, because they do legal
in your state where you can do that now you're
living for now, I should say once you move to Oklahoma,
it's not legal here.

Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
Just so you know I'm gonna do that.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
I could make a I don't think I'll make that
much money, because you know, their their favorite.

Speaker 5 (01:42:19):
If you hit six teams at one hundred dollars winning
their division, you're gonna make some money. I don't care.

Speaker 4 (01:42:25):
Maybe a hundred, not even one hundred to one. I
promise you it's not gonna be that much.

Speaker 5 (01:42:29):
Well, it might not be, because the Eagles and the
Chiefs have been are exceeding the Bills and the Chiefs
have been pretty good. But I still think if you
made that bet at one hundred bucks, I think you
do pretty well if you hit all six of them.

Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
Yeah, I mean you do okay, but not the big
ground swall you expect to have hitting six teams.

Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
So look it up. Get on your phone and see
what it looks like. No, because there's too many.

Speaker 4 (01:42:49):
You can I can't.

Speaker 2 (01:42:50):
I don't know what the plus or the minuses are.
The Bills are the overwhelming favorite, the ravens of the feud?

Speaker 3 (01:42:56):
Do you have you you live in a state where
it's legal to bet?

Speaker 5 (01:43:00):
Get on the app? That can?

Speaker 4 (01:43:01):
You keep saying we have a producer, right, make the producer.
Look this up.

Speaker 5 (01:43:05):
You can do it. You're a man, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
Make the bet and then not placing bets for you?

Speaker 4 (01:43:12):
Arnie?

Speaker 3 (01:43:12):
No, right in California. I don't think it's legal, is
it yet?

Speaker 5 (01:43:15):
Yeah? No yet? Look it up.

Speaker 2 (01:43:17):
See what would happen if you put one hundred dollars
on those six names.

Speaker 5 (01:43:20):
Don't do it, Arnie, do you faking do it? You're
sitting here talking about how much money you wouldn't make.
Let's see what it would look like. Which app do
you use? You use FanDuel or draft sikes?

Speaker 4 (01:43:29):
I h I have to do bet on what you
mnna call it?

Speaker 3 (01:43:34):
Here's the reality. Arnie's wife doesn't let him bet, so
he doesn't have any.

Speaker 5 (01:43:37):
Of the apps.

Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
I y app, but I just hide it from her.
I don't I have to go and download it every
time I want to make a bet.

Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
You, Well, what sucks is you got to put your
phone number and you got to reverify.

Speaker 4 (01:43:48):
Yeah, you just do all that crop it's not that hard.

Speaker 5 (01:43:51):
Shoot, I'll do it while Steve is Seger gives us
one final update. What's going on? Steve?

Speaker 3 (01:43:56):
As we put a rap on a busy Sunday, won't
do any thing.

Speaker 4 (01:44:00):
It doesn't make it effen Like.

Speaker 7 (01:44:02):
Make illegal bets.

Speaker 5 (01:44:03):
Yeah, like making illegal bet when you're in a state
where it's legal, and all you have to do is
pick up your phone and put.

Speaker 2 (01:44:09):
It in Well you have you're gonna tell me this.
You're in Oklahoma. You can't make a bet.

Speaker 3 (01:44:14):
They I cannot make a bet on a sporting event
in Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
Wait, you can't download that, like they're gonna know he's
in Oklahoma.

Speaker 11 (01:44:20):
That's right, exactly, No, that's not true. Your phone has
location on it, dude, So what is because I try
to do it?

Speaker 5 (01:44:29):
Okay? Wait?

Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
Wait?

Speaker 4 (01:44:29):
So what happens when you cross into a state that.

Speaker 5 (01:44:31):
I can bet?

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:44:34):
You sure about that?

Speaker 3 (01:44:35):
Yes? Because I've done it.

Speaker 7 (01:44:37):
So Arnie's moving to Nevada? Exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:44:40):
No, he can bet legally in Vermont where he is.
The fact his wife doesn't let.

Speaker 7 (01:44:45):
Barney about the ins and outs of the league out
that explains all his picks, doesn't it.

Speaker 4 (01:44:51):
Did you look that up yet? Probably?

Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
How much you're gonna win on those six teams? I'm
working on it, yeah, Red, So it's really easy. I'm
clicking on four five six division winners. I'm going to
put the amount of money that I'm putting on. It's
very easy.

Speaker 7 (01:45:07):
Maybe by the time Todd comes back on the show, we'll.

Speaker 4 (01:45:10):
Have my next Sunday, we'll find an answer.

Speaker 5 (01:51:27):
Softball you need to get to a. Game the fact
that you haven't gone to one is showing in your awful.

Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Takes I'm i'm actually thinking about Calling oklahoma softball play by.

Speaker 4 (01:51:36):

Speaker 2 (01:51:38):
Great samantha's, Up samantha's up the bat and that's a

think of you're getting under my. Skin so like you're
gonna come here to do. Softball you think you're gonna unseat?

Speaker 9 (01:51:57):
Me.

Speaker 5 (01:51:57):
Bro you could barely call play by play of a
football game right, Now eric right region. Reason Major League
baseball Replay Terry francona's plan of having an alternate ump
that sits upstairs made sense to, me seeing that the
balls and strikes and can tell the home plate umpire
is uh, boy this is a really bad. Text?

Speaker 3 (01:52:18):
Areic let me try this.

Speaker 5 (01:52:18):
Again Terry francona's plan of having an alternate up that
sits upstairs made sense to. Me sees the balls and
strikes and can tell the home plate ump is great
or really bad on high. Strikes what about the robotomp?
Then are JUST i, mean how is that better with
having a guy that sits upstairs as opposed to actually
having someone that, is you, know able to digitally do.

Speaker 4 (01:52:42):
It and by the, way LIKE i, said suppose the
count is.

Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
One and two and or you, know and the runner takes.
Off is it strike three or ball? Two do you
throw the ball? Down you don't want to throw the
ball down if it was strike, three right and just
the third?

Speaker 4 (01:52:59):
OUT i don't. Know it just you have to get
that information to the catcher as soon as. POSSIBLE i
don't know how that's going.

Speaker 5 (01:53:05):
To, Work, Douglas, Right so the umpires are still calling
the game and THE abs system is just a.

Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
Backup i'm so. Confused, no it's used right.

Speaker 4 (01:53:13):
Now that system is used to you, know if you
go ahead and challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:53:18):
Anything But I'm i'm ready to use it as in
every ball and, strike every pitch thrown on that it's
going to be.

Speaker 4 (01:53:26):
Used And i'm not sure how that will.

Speaker 2 (01:53:28):
Work through the umpires obviously have to be there because
you have to relay it to the, catcher.

Speaker 4 (01:53:32):
LIKE i just, said So i'm not sure how that.

Speaker 5 (01:53:35):
WORKS i don't think anybody really cares about how quickly
you have to throw the ball down if it's strike
three or ball. FOUR i think you see guys throw
down most of the time, Anyway, yeah but you don't.

Speaker 2 (01:53:46):
Want it to throw unnecessarily and maybe it gets by
the the fielder and next thing you, know they're taking
extra basis or.

Speaker 4 (01:53:52):
SOMETHING i don't, know but you, know.

Speaker 5 (01:53:53):
Why would That why would it matter then if it's
if they get extra, bases if.

Speaker 2 (01:53:58):
It's fall or if it's ball four and you're throwing
it down for no reason and it gets by the
fielder and they, go, oh we're gonna go to third,
now and you, know something like that could.

Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
HAPPEN i, Guess.

Speaker 5 (01:54:10):
Josh, Wright i've been out a few weeks post. Surgery
help you, All. Josh have you guys talked about The

never have known he was an elite quarterback just by
looking at his. Bod and it's a little, pudgy wouldn't you?

Speaker 4 (01:54:37):
Think or?

Speaker 5 (01:54:37):
What i'm not saying anything bad About Patrick mahomes because
you've already told me they've guaranteed winning the, division so
it shouldn't matter what he looks. Like, right every single
time that anyone says anything bad About, mahomes he usually
shoves it back in their.

Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
Face, yeah but you, know here's the real.

Speaker 4 (01:54:52):

Speaker 4 (01:55:00):
What type of shape he's. In but didn't we do?

Speaker 5 (01:55:01):

Speaker 4 (01:55:02):
Fair didn't we do that With?

Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
LUCA i mean they as soon as he got dreaded

a lot of. Shape you, know he like doesn't work
out or, Something and they were Attacking luca about his
weight like, crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:55:16):
How many rings Does luca have? One?

Speaker 3 (01:55:20):

Speaker 1 (01:55:22):

Speaker 3 (01:55:23):
WOW i, Mean i'm Just i'm.

Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
Thinking to, MYSELF i think you allow yourself a little
bit of grace whenever you're walking. Around and while you're walking,
around you're carrying around three Super bowl, championship three Super bowl,
MVPs and Two Most Valuable player.

Speaker 4 (01:55:37):

Speaker 5 (01:55:41):
Saying, again three Super bowl, championships three Super bowl, MVPs
Two Most Valuable Player.

Speaker 3 (01:55:47):
Awards, LIKE i don't care how he, looks just he keeps.

Speaker 5 (01:55:51):
WINNING i Love Major League baseball using the automatetic strike
system of The All Star. Game, uh that's From, Jason
but again it's we got a clarify. It, yeah they're
only using it on the. Challenges it's not being used
for the entire, game, right it's just on the, challenges.

Speaker 4 (01:56:07):
And it's not gonna you, KNOW i don't think it's,
unlimited even if you get it. RIGHT i don't think
it's going to be. Unlimited if you get it, right
you can keep. GOING i thought it was capped off
at two or, three So i'm.

Speaker 5 (01:56:17):
Not, no it's my understanding what to segu was saying.
Earlier you get it. Right you can keep challenging that
thing all night and Then brendan. Writes Steve hartman said
earlier today that The raiders will win more than ten.
GAMES i don't see anyway they'll get. THERE i see
them Beating New, England, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Indianapolis, Cleveland, dallas and The.
Giants that's seven. There PLUS i could see him beating

(01:56:39):
The chargers and The. Chiefs so that's, nine but no. More,
YEAH i, LISTEN i think beyond those teams that already
talked about that are the favorites in their. Division it's
kind of tough to figure anything out right now in THE, nfl,
right there's a lot of unknown in how things are
going to go In. Minnesota was that a one hit
wonder or IS jj McCarthy ready to become next big

(01:57:00):
deal at?

Speaker 4 (01:57:01):
Quarterbacks but in your, division you have three teams with
double digit wins at.

Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
Least, YEAH.

Speaker 5 (01:57:06):
I mean, everywhere but, yeah in THE Afc, west you're,
right that's three tough teams that may.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
Be the best division in, football right up there with
THE Nfc, north who have three teams with double digit.

Speaker 5 (01:57:15):
Wins, yeah but we'll. SEE i think in The north
it's gonna be. WILD i think it's gonna BE i
think it's gonna be wild in THE Afc south. TOO
i Think jacksonville is gonna be. BETTER i THINK i
actually am am maybe a little bit of. CRAZY i
think The colts are gonna be pretty. Good AND i
think your Boy Daniel jones might end up being the
starting quarterback for The, colts AND i think they're gonna be.

Speaker 4 (01:57:33):
Better maybe we'll.

Speaker 5 (01:57:34):
See all, Right arnie's picks are coming up, next as
