Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go, speaking genius, Go big boys, let's go, let's go.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Are you excited that we might have a live event
during the show tonight?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
We have a live events going on right now?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Well, what do you I mean?
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Listen, I know you're all in on softball right now,
but I mean the magic of Nascar, which it looks like.
It looks like in about thirty minutes from now, we
might have a live event like we don't typically have
after eleven pm Eastern time? Are you ready for left
(00:41):
turns in Charlotte late into the night.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
You know that's my sport. Come on, now, you know
that's my thing.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
I notice it wasn't I noticed it wasn't on your
Roman numerals, which you sent me an updated list to
add like three or four Roman numerals.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
And I don't think we'll ever talk.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
About No, I've worped the number or up the twenty
four numerals. So we do have a lot to get there.
By the way, I was downtown today. We had the marathon,
the Burlington Vermont Marathon here today.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Very cool.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Oh, my son decides to run it with no training whatsoever,
first time ever running a marathon. I was proud of
him for the first like twenty miles. He was on
pace for like three hours and thirty minutes. But then
he pulls his I cramped up. I had the walk.
He cramped up, embarrasses the family name, and finishes like
(01:31):
three hours and fifty eight minutes. I'm very embarrassed of him.
I should have made him walk home because I know
I could do four If I could do four hours, Chris,
then you know you did a bad job.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
You know I don't know that you can do four hours.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Dude, I could do four hours. If I wore those
like Timberland work boots, I could run it in four oka.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Bet I bet you fifteen thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
At tomorrow and the people crossing the finish slide and
they were like, oh, cramping up and help me and
carry me. I'm like, dude, when I get off the
basketball court, I'm not like carry me off the basketball guard.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I can also not running a marathon. It's not that
you're you're a scrub. You're coming off the bench.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
You hardly play it all twenty six point two miles.
Think about it? Is that really all that long?
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yes? It is it? Absolutely go drive your car.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Twenty six miles takes me about twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah, and you're also going what maybe six Wait, you're
not going anywhere in Burlington Vermont twenty six miles in
twenty minutes.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I know, but just all these people run it, they're
also out of gas. Let me tell you that if
you're so messed up at the end of the marathon,
maybe you should train a little bit harder, not run
it until you get in better shape. You know what
I mean?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Is this really where you wanted to start today? No,
I just I just this is what you you wanted
to start with. This this bit where you're you're disappointed
in your son for running a marathon, and you're gonna
try to say this is the bit you want to
start with on the only show we get on the
Memorial Day weekend.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Well, just where you know there was I just know
there was a lot of marathons out there, and I
just want you to know that I know I could
run it in less than four hours.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
I'm bet in your timberl in your Timberland boots. I
got fifteen grand that says you couldn't even come up.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
You know what maybe I'll put on some fancy, you know,
running shoes. How about that?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, I know you said Timbland boots. That you're sitting
there talking your trash. Well, we're coming to you live
tonight from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tyrack dot
com will help you get there and unmatched a selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers. Ti rack dot com the way tire buying
should be. Now we're live on a Sunday night. We
(03:37):
were waiting on NASCAR NBA's Western Conference Finals, or as
Arnie likes to say, O V.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
E R over. But there's still one game lap.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
We've got Major League Baseball cards, Cubs wrapping up, we
got college softball. Seven of the eight teams are in
for the World Series. So there's a lot going on
on this Sunday night. But come on, Arnie, we gotta
start with what just wrapped up? Right, Minnesota falls to
Dallas sixteen one oh seven.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
It's over. It's over all, right.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Core, Yeah, I mean you know what, there's no h
intrigue in any of these games anymore, or any of
these series. Both of them are what three nothing?
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Now?
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Like last year, it's gonna be Boston in Dallas, and
maybe we'll get some intrigue and we'll we'll talk about, oh,
you know, Kyrie and what happened with Bob, what he
was on the team like one hundred years ago or
something like that. But yeah, these these conference finals have
been absolutely as snoozefest. To be honest with you, by
the way.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Snitwait, hold on, hold on, just because it's three zip.
Two of the three games in the Celtics Pacers series
have been amazing. One of them had to go to
overtime on a desperation shot.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Uh, and I thought.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
Tonight and I thought game one of the Timbrel and
actually it was a.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Last second shot.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
The things you love aren't a buzzer beater. How can
you say that they've been boring even though they're both
three zip? They're fantastic.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
And you knew that the Pacers were down as soon
as they lost Haller Burton, so you knew that was
O v E R. So you didn't even really give
any any credence to that series. And Michael Jordan Junior
Anthony Edwards, is that what we call him now, Michael
Jordan Junior. Do we just call him Anthony Edwards. Now
I'm kind of cure because I don't remember Michael Jordan
(05:23):
Junior getting swept out of the playoffs. You know, Michael
Jordan getting swept out too many times. But they're down
three nothing, so yeah, you're right, it's over. Let's just
move on to little Boston and MAVs and see what
we got.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
But again, I'm gonna push back on you.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
You're to say these these have been snoozers and these
have been tearing. It's kind of everything you grinch and
mode about in series. Yeah, but it's three zero. That's
what's killing me.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
There's no intriguing in the series, and we already know
it's over. We know that Indiana is not moving on,
we know that the Wolves are not moving on. We
had high expectations. The Boston is gonna be crabby again,
So you can't ask him for anything now. And at
least we do have somewhat intrigue with Boston and Dallas,
so at least we'll get that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
I just I can't believe.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I usually come on Memorial Day weekend and we'll have
shows and what we'll have fill in throughout the week,
and I always feel like we're having a debate about Man,
it's sad that the NBA Finals aren't as entertaining as
the NHL for Eastern Conference, Western Conference Conference finals, whatever,
because the NHL is putting on a show in the NBA, isn't.
I feel like of the six games we've had so
(06:30):
far in the Western and Eastern Conference.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Finals, I think they'd be great.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
I don't even want to fight about why you should
be watching hockey said the NBA. I hate that it's
three zimp, but I want to say we've had what
maybe one the game two of the Pacers Celtics series,
maybe that's really been one of those games, like, hey,
what do you like to say?
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Is law and order?
Speaker 4 (06:49):
On?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
The other five games have been I feel like must
watch TV.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
You know, maybe you hit something out of the head
there because I was actually watching the Ranger game. They
go up four to they get a short headed goal,
they give up two to make it four to four,
game goes into overtime, they went it there had had
a little of everything. I mean, that was that was
a great game. I mean there was a lot on
the line there. I think Stars Oiler is a good series.
So maybe I'm enjoying the hockey a little bit more.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Hockey's good, but I don't feel like this. The thing
that sucks is that Minnesota wasn't able to get game well,
I guess you could say game two, and that Indiana
wasn't able to get Game one. You I think either
one of those teams, with the way this has played out,
we're gonna end up winning their series.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
No, but it does. That's some intrigue, right, You need
that to pull you back in.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
And regardless of how great the games are, there's people
like Arnie Now there's like it's three zip.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
What I need to watch?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
You'll re engage if it's like three to two at
that point, right, that's the point where you're like, all right,
maybe I'll pay attention to games.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
By the way, I'm not I'm not in the fashion
you know that. I'm really not into Hey, what is
so and so were to the game today? I'm just
wondering because Haller Burton's still wearing that Reggie Miller hoodie
or did he take that off?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
I'm just kind of curious. No, because they're not playing
the Knicks who got the play off.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Now that they are choking like big dogs, you know
Indianapolis or Indiana had what two games where they were
over ninety percent had win rate with the final two
minutes that I know you hate that, but in the
final two minutes of the fourth quarter and look where
it's got them. But yeah, I want to know what
he's doing with that hoodie now? Is he got that
in his closet? Is he going to take that on
(08:25):
the road? I wonder what he's doing. You have not many,
not much left in that series. For sure.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
We're a week removed from you being the only person
in America that was complaining about Tyrese Halliburton's the hoodie. Yes,
being removed from the you being the only person that
was triggered by his hoodie.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
And it's still bothering me. Yeah, and it's still a
week later. It's still bothering me Nowhere.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Even Stephen A.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
Smith and Spike Lee jumping up and down, screaming and
yelling pregame for their beloved Nicks haven't complained nearly as
much as you have about his sweatshirt.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
At least I leading something then always I know what
I'm talking about.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
You're at the top of the of the charts of
still being offended by Tyrese Haliburtons and.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I'm still gonna wait till the season starts next year.
I'm still gonna be offended.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Unless he's a nick and then you'll be fine with him. See,
I need that kind of swagger.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Oh Haliburton on my team, not my team. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Well one thing we are seeing, you know. I always
kind of push back on the legacy talks. I don't
care about the Anthony Edwards Michael Jordan stuff. I think
he's a great player.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
He's gonna be fine.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
They might get knocked out of the playoffs in four,
but he's still gonna be fantastic, spectacular and we're gonna
love it to watch him.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
But what I do dig is you brought it up.
Do you remember what year Kyrie Irving played for the Celtics.
He only played their two years.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
It was seventeen eighteen and eighteen nineteen, And you're right,
it seems like it's like ten years ago.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
But through the weirdness of the way he was in
the bubble right through his span where he played what
twenty games that year in nineteen, it's only played twenty
games that season. He had a season with Boston where
he played. I assume it with Brik law I only
played twenty nine games for the Deltum. So my point is,
(10:14):
I feel like we're seeing kind of a new level
of appreciation for Kyrie Irving. Maybe dare I say even
kind of reinventing himself or you waiting for that other
weird issue to fall when it comes to Kyrie.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
No, I do agree. I think he is kind of
reinventing himself. He's playing good ball. I mean, he had
that big jump shot down the baseline of falling away,
which was good, and obviously that helped him in the win.
I think Boston fans won't forget. I think the rest
of the NBA fans have forgotten what went on between
Kyrie and Boston. But you got to remember Kyrie always
(10:48):
said I want to stay here in Boston. I want
to there in Boston, and as soon as he had
a chance to leave, he bolted right away. I don't
think Celtic fans ever forgot about that, and they'll let
him have it when he you know what, he could
back and this this is gonna be a could be
a pretty fun series with a lot of hatred going
on there, you know.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
It's it's kind of wild. I guess it didn't really
register with me. Kyrie Irving has been in the league
since twenty eleven, I know, jeez. I mean, he's not
a spring chicken either though, and he's made a lot
of money and he's won a title. But this is cool.
This is really neat to see. I know that it
sparked some kind of something right in Boston fan Arnie,
(11:27):
you live around there, You're around a lot of the childs,
they get it. But I do think that's going to
add a certain level of intrigue for all of the
in the weeds fans, right, all the diehards you hit
on the head. I don't think the casuals are going
to care too much about the Kyrie Boston tie. Maybe
I'm wrong, but I know this much. We'll be talking
about it a lot here. I know as much Boston
(11:48):
fans haven't forgotten.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
I think I think the typical NBA fan will be
re engaged once they see the hate be right. Oh
with the Celtic fans are like, wow, they really hate
this guy. And let me tell you something, when he
did leave, there was a lot of hatred. They're like, say,
he pulled a fast Wood on us. See, it's so
hard to really go back and remember what happened went
seven eight years ago, you know, off the top of
(12:10):
my head, but I remember that he was like, I'm
gonna stay and then he realized he didn't have to
stay to get the most money, even though usually if
you stay in the one place, you get the most money.
And you know, he wanted to go play with a
bunch of other people. It really kind of set back
the team a little bit also, So yeah, good luck
to him, but I know something for I'll never forget that.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
But here's a question.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
If they play in the finals, right, that's that's gonna
be my cy TV. But he has already played a
playoff series in Boston, you know with the Brooklyn Nets.
He did play a playoff series in Boston, right, So
is it's still that same hate and disdain.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Is it at a.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Different level now or have you been able to let
some of it out so you vented and you're gonna
be fine with it.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
No, I think it's a different level because now you're
playing in the NBA finals. You know, it just continues.
I don't think Okay, he's already come back we've seen
a playoff series, so we've already bowed him. Everything's good
and we love him now. I don't think that exists.
If that's what drafts could be. No, no, god, no,
no no. I still think the hatreds. The hatred's still there,
and I think it's that you're gonna ratchet up to
(13:18):
a new level because it is the NBA Finals.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
So you asked a question here in Roman numeral. Let
me make sure here because like all the first five
are about basketball, Roman numeral three.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
All right, the first three yere basketball. Don't forget. We
got to get the Roman numeral four later on. Is
I know you're gonna try to duck that. I don't
want you duck in that.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
No, you're gonna have to stop falling for every aggregate.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
It's don't I don't watch it, duck. I don't watch
it duck in that topic. I'm Roman numeral number four.
Put a star by that.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
Yeah, yeah, no, I'll talk about it next if you
want to. But Arnie is again falling for every single
report out of ot A as beach right, Caleb Williams,
apparently his career is over. I want to remind every
one that this is also the same person who thought
Victor wimbin Yama would suck after his first Summer League game.
So just if you need a little perspective on that,
there you go.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
Got my ear to the ground.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
But go ahead, right, ratings you and I love to
have those ratings conference. Absolutely is this? Is this a
ratable if you will series? This is gonna be must
see TV. I know the markets are good, Boston and Dallas.
And again for a literal fan that will try to
tweet us, stop, you know it's over too, it's three
to zero. No one's coming back here. But Boston Dallas,
(14:32):
two pretty good markets, some engaging superstars.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
I think it's got a chance to be a fun.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Well watched, English, very entertaining series.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
I agree with you, two good markets, as you mentioned,
intrigue in the matchups, the Kyrie factor leaving Boston, and
as you mentioned, some high profile players too. So and
remember Jalen Brown, what did he say five years ago
or six years ago that he'd be working on his
fifty NBA championship? So how's that working out for him?
(15:02):
So I think I think all that together, I think
the ratings will either be I think it's gonna be
slightly up from last year, then uh then if it
would have been like the Pacers or some bologna like that,
some bologne.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
I love that.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I'm still bitter you are about the team that knocks
you guys out of the playoffs. All right, we're just
getting started tonight. We're all about you guys. Maybe you're
staying up late because it's Memorial Day weekend, you're off
work Monday. Let's get after it. Hit us up on Twitter.
He's at Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show. Everybody

(15:38):
he's on VAK. So we'll continue to get those picks
from Arnie, which is really what you all came for.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Anyway.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
I'm read hot too, I'm read hot.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Yeah, that's Pacers and seven pick is on fire right now,
so we'll dive into Wow, that's what that's what you want?
Saw that was your pick? You you proclaimed it last week.
It's like, can't believe in Boston. Pacers are the pissers?
Pacers in seven and now you're gonna try to say
your picture on fire.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
I just want to make sure that I gave them
the g.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
You didn't think we were paying attention.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
When I sucked that. You came up with that right
off the top of your head.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
All right, listen, let's get to Roman numeral four next
right here on Fox Sports Radio.

your Arizona Wildcats winning the final ever PACK twelve event?
Speaker 2 (17:34):
You better believe it. That's historic and we're gonna be
hosting too. I guess people are bent out of shape
as they didn't think we had a high enough RPI
like winning the PAC twelve and then winning the PAC
twelve tournament and having the hardest schedule at all of
baseball is in the grounds enough to have the hosting position,
but everybody crying about it. So but that's okay, world,
just have to kick some boody.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
That's right. Were you at all sad with the end
of the PAC twelve.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
No, I've been ready to move on.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
Look.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
I only liked the PAC twelve obviously because of Arizona,
but I didn't like the you know, the late starts,
the way it was ignored, the way it was like
the it felt like it was the fifth Power five conference,
and afterthought, even though we had some good teams out there,
it just was the last game every night. It was
(18:25):
like the Hawaii game, you know what I mean, It's like, oh,
Hawaii's on. I didn't like that. Now, you know, being
in the Big twelve, we're gonna be you know, have
more eyes on us. It seems more day games, more
you know, right there in the thicket thing. So I'm
ready to move on. You know, I'm bummed that there's
not gonna be a Pac twelve anymore, but that's that's
been a long time coming. But yeah, I'm ready to
(18:47):
move on. I'm ready to go on to the.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Next step, ready to move on to the league that
you clowned and made fun of for you know, the
better part of the decade.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
This is going to be stealing from them. I can't
believe we're seven to half point favorite in our underdog
in our first game to Kansas State after we kick
the crap out of them, You.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Really are surprised that you're a seven and a half
point underdog to a team that has the returning well,
you guys have your returning starting quarterback too, right, which
you thought he was.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
A backup to start the.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Year, which is like the best quarterback in all college football.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Yeh, that's not.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
I can't have a logical conversation that he's in top No,
he's not the best returning course, Carson Beck is coming
back to George Arnie.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
I think he was ranked second. I think if you
look at some of the things they.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Had him rank second, some of the things, this is
great conversation if you look at some of the things
he's seck, what's his name again?
Speaker 2 (19:37):
The Ears of a Kid for Feeda, Noah for Fieda, the.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Guy that are play by play guy, the great Toby Rowland.
Whenever Oklahoma's playing in Arizona, he got faheta stuck in
his head and and it was so because he's so
good and he's so amazing that it had happened a
couple of times. And he's like, I'm just gonna tell
you guys right now, stuck in my head and I
don't know why. Speaking of fun things, the College World
Series is set for the Women's World Series. I don't
(20:02):
even know what the schedule looks like next Sunday. So
Scott heads up. Boss Man I'll shoot you a text.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
It might be good for my I don't know what
would a blood pressure to have another day off for you?
Speaker 1 (20:13):
It's been nice, Oh my good?
Speaker 2 (20:15):
You try to take another day off now for the
for the softball. What's wrong with you?
Speaker 3 (20:19):
I mean, it's a big deal around Hill, and it's
a big deal for me. So that's what's wrong with me.
I'm not gonna sit around and like not do the show.
If it's gonna work out where I can, I'll be here.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
But we'll find out. I have a lot of things.
Are you got a lot of things going on? Very
popular person?
Speaker 2 (20:34):
You are? You are? You are a big deal.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
But here's what I'm not getting caught up in. I'm
not getting caught up in these stupid OTA reports that
you keep sending me because for some reason, you want
Caleb Williams to fail. And I don't know why. I
don't know what he ever did to you. If he
had been a dolphin right now, you'd be talking about
him being the greatest thing you've ever seen. But for
some reason you have just decided that he's gonna suck.
(20:58):
And so even when there is one OTA report from
something called m L Football.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
It's the gospel to you.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Such is I such a two reports one about him
doing the interceptions and having the preventioned practice. Don't I
don't think he was benched in practice. Don't blame me
for sending you the information.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Don't blame you for falling for fake accounts and falling
for bs information.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Are you saying he's playing great in practice and all
these are bogus information?
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Then no, No, I'm saying that he's a rookie and
he's going to struggle in practice.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
I'm saying that's going to be his life.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
But this idea why he's not going to be good
is the dumbest thing you've ever heard.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Why do you do this? Hold on, hold on, hold on.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
You did this with show Hey, you did this with
winmbin Yama. You see one thing and you're like, oh,
they're terrible. Why can't you see them in a game
before you make up your mind?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
I didn't say they're just giving you the information. You
make up your mind. Now you could say, well, maybe
he was just having a bad day, right.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
It's not all we's good information.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Maybe, so you're saying he didn't have a bad practice.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
I'm not saying he didn't have a bad practice.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
I'm saying, you're making it seem like he was out there,
I don't know, running a marathon, not to daddy standards,
or something.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Embarrassing to fans.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Maybe maybe maybe give you an example here if I
let's say you had a teenager who's horrible in mathematics,
and I said, hey, I know this guy before, and
I know this guy who's an MI I t grat okay,
and he's gonna he's gonna tutor. He's gonna tutor your kid.
And he's sitting now tutoring your kid and then tells
your kid, Uh, now two plus four is eight, and
(22:34):
your kid goes, no, two plus four six, Oh yeah,
two times four is eight. I'm just having a bad day.
You would say, oh, he's just having a bad day.
You say, you're an idiot, Get out of here. I
don't know what your teacher, my kid. You sound like
a moron. There's all such thing as just having a
bad day. This is a warning sign. This is a
warning flag. What danger Will Robinson? Danger Will Robinson, don't
(23:00):
believe you know all this stuff about how great he's
gonna be. And he's annoyed to the Hall of Famer.
You don't believe it. You stop believing all the crap
that you read. Maybe you should come back down the
earth a little bit.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Wow, this is some crazy stuff here, man.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Uh Am I wrong though, I'm gonna read from here.
He's like, how to pass to a running back so
wide open, could have scored a touchdown. Instead, he threw
into the end zone and it was intercepted.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
What do you what do you?
Speaker 2 (23:29):
What are you expecting out of hitting this year?
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Because I mean, there's theres there's more here.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
He is great, the greatest. The Bears that you think
are gonna be with him, they better at least when
the division or make the playoffs, because they won what
seven eight games last year, so they should take a
step up.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Right, Yeah?
Speaker 3 (23:44):
I mean he threw two other interceptions Wednesday, has seven
and six camp practices interceptions.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
That's good. That's pretty good. Huh? Is that what you
got from.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Patrick Mahomes rookie year? You dope?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Why do you keep falling for all of these things
where you think they're gonna be terrible because they have
a bad practice. I just read from Patrick Mahomes practice
report from his not rookie year. His second season when
he was a starter, and I think things have worked
out okay from him having a quote unquote bad day,
aren't he, Chris?
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Just because it worked out for Mahomes doesn't mean it's
gonna work out for somebody like Caleb Williams. Okay. And besides,
I think Mahomes was in a better situation in Kansas
City than Caleb Williams is is gonna be in Chicago.
Though I do think Chicago has done a great job
of putting some weapons around them. I guess people don't
agree with me on that, but well, we'll see what
happens to him. I just I just want, I just
(24:38):
wanted to give you the information that he's still not
a Hall of Famer yet. There, Chris, I know there's
a lot of listeners out there going You tell him, arn,
you tell him everybody anointing this guy is the next coming.
You know, Hey, pump the brakes a little bit. You've
done this before with who Well when we talk about quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, I mean you were the one that was telling
me how great Josh Rosen was. So I'll wait, did
I wait a minute?
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Who?
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Who did I When did I say how great Josh
Rosen was.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Oh, dude, don't make me go back to all the
shows whenever You're like, he was your number one quarterback
in that draft and you would take him over everyone
because he the Pac twelve.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
You fall for this all the time.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
The last person I swung and missed on was was
Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
By because you thought he was gonna be great, and
he's I thought he was gonna be great.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Well, come on, let's be honest, he's he's not the
quarterback I thought he was right.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
You need to completely blow it all up because he
had an injury riddled season.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Are you just gonna Are you just going to defend
every quarterback I throw out there or what?
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Because well no, no, no, no, I'm going to defend all
the ones that you want people to move on from that.
I think deserve a little bit more time like the
three practices, and Caleb Williams has been I think he
should get a little bit more time than that.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
The injury.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
I mean, Trevor Lawrence won a playoff game with the
with the Jaguars.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Now the Chargers were led to that.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
His stats are worse than Daniel Jones, are competent or
equal to Daniel Jones's stats.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Right, but I'm not ready to give up on him.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
But I just thought he was gonna be the next
great thing, like you said, like.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
He still might be. He still might be.
Speaker 5 (26:15):
Stop.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
I just I don't understand guys that struggle, Like when
you see the Sam Darnold stuff, when you see the
Josh Rosen, that's when you know, hey, they're gonna need
a new uh, a new set of gear in order
to get better, right, and they might not get there.
I just don't understand you seeing a couple practice reports
and being like, yeah, this guy's terrible. Everyone you need
to get off the bandwagon. Because at Bear's Underscore, Donnie
(26:38):
says he's terrible.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Well, you and your Chicago Bear buddies made it sound
like this guy was gonna dominate the NFL as soon
as that he came in.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
So, I mean, has the season started yet.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
No, it has not. But the show is today, that's
for sure. I'm not today. He's not looking too good,
that's all right.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
When we come back to the track dot Com Studios,
let's dive into more on the NBA play as lopsided
as they are. But first, Steve Sager is in the
house to get us caught up on everything in the
world of sports.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
NASCAR is done for the night. They have just the
race r Christopher Bell as your winner. Brag Keslowski finishes second.
It is official. William Byron finished third. There was the
red flag stoppage at about lap two point fifty of
the four hundred scheduled. The storm came through included lightning,
(27:30):
obviously plenty of rain. The problem is after the rain,
NASCAR says the high humidity was keeping them from drying
the track quickly and properly. And in fact, they said
on the telecast just now it would have been to
the early morning hours, maybe after one am Eastern could
until they could have gotten it dry. Us still one
(27:50):
hundred and fifty laps or so to go, they have
called it. They're interviewing the winner, Christopher Bell, on Fox
TV right now. At Charlotte.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Let me get somebody on the line and I'll fix this.
Speaker 7 (28:00):
Meanwhile, at Indy we had a four hour rain delay
at the start. They did get all the laps in there.
Joseph Nugarten the Indy five hundred winner for the second
straight year, first repeat winner there and over twenty years
and for Team owner Roger Penske his twentieth victory at
the Brickyard. Of course, the stat we know from the
NBA playoffs, any team going up three games to none
in a series has never lost that series. In fact,
(28:23):
they put up the graphic tonight. One fifty four to
zher is the series record all time in the NBA
Playoffs when a team goes up three games to none,
each conference final is three games to none. Right now,
we have never had two sweeps of best of sevens
right before the NBA Finals in league history. Last year
(28:43):
we got to three games to none each conference, but
the heat it took him, I think seven to finally
put away the Celtics. Nuggets did sweep the Lakers a
year ago. We have a chance at two sweeps this
week and then some time off because the NBA Finals
won't start till June sixth. Dallas is up three games
to none in the West Finals after beating Minnesota with
an impressive final few minutes one sixteen one oh seven.
(29:06):
That game was tied with under four minutes to go.
Luka Donsiic with thirty three points. Game four at Dallas
Tuesday night. The Celtics lead the East Finals three games
to none, with game four tomorrow night on the holiday
at Indiana. In the NHL, the Rangers won it overtime again,
this time at Florida, five to four to go up
two games to one. In the East Final, Davis Riley
won by five strokes. At Colonial, Scottie Scheffler tied for
(29:29):
second place. Colin Morikawa was six shots back. The next
live golf event is in two weeks in Houston. In
college off ball, everything's done for the night. Stanford wins
eight nothing, crushing LSU. It'll be Stanford against number one
Texas Thursday night at the Women's College World Series. Texas
won an extra innings yesterday nine to eight to stay alive,
(29:49):
and then beat Texas A and M again tonight six ' five.
Oklahoma Thursday night will face the Florida Gators, who eliminated
Baylor five to three today. By the way, ok Oklahoma's
in the same bracket with UCLA, so if they each
win on Thursday, they'd be facing Weecht Duke.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
I think Oklahoma's got Duke the opener with Duke.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
Oh, what did I say?
Speaker 1 (30:09):
Florida?
Speaker 7 (30:10):
Sorry about that? Duke beat Missouri. Florida beat Baylor. Thank
you for the correction. But Oklahoma and UCLA are in
the same bracket, so if they each win Thursday, they
would face each other in the round. Right after that,
Alabama won at Tennessee, Flourida one. So yeah, Bama against
Ucla Thursday at the World Series. Bama won in fourteen
innings Saturday, three to two to stay alive. Meanwhile, we
(30:32):
had a rain delay in Saint Louis. Cardinals had won
four in a row. They were due to host the
Cubs tonight two and a half hour rain delay at
the start. Now, Paul Goldschmid has hit two homers and
the Cardinals are leading four nothing over the Chicago Cubs.
In the top of the seventh inning. Cleveland won its
ninth straight game, five to four over the Angels San Diego,
a five to two winner against the Yankees Atlanta one eight
(30:54):
one at Pittsburgh. Ronald Acuna the Braves is out for
the year with a torn aca, a complete tear of
the left knees, acl says the team. He was hurt
on the base pass today.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Back to you, thanks Steve, as we come to you
live from the tyrack dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
Did you watch any of the racing today at all, Arnie.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
No, No, I didn't see it. I mean I had
on fairly for a couple of minutes, but that's about it.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Any five hundred was great. My kids are out of town,
so I actually got to sit and watch it. It
was a great race, great race, great finish. We usually
are Buddy George at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway took us
up with a winner for the last four or five years,
but I mean they didn't get started till super late,
so unfortunately that won't happen today.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Maybe it'll happen next weekend. But back to back winners.
That was fun. Obviously, NASCAR, they just called it.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
And there's nothing that sucks more than rain on a
day like today.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
So thankfully everything you.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Got me to put on the race. I was I'm like, okay,
he is gonna keep us going for the next couple
of hours. I love it, you know.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
I was so excited. Now I guess I'm going to
get to that second page of Roman numerals. But I mean,
you've got to realize how ridiculous you sound when you're
ready to question and give up on a guy off.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
No, it's not actually it's not being ridiculous. That's why
so many fans end up going to practice. They just
want to see how the team looks, and then they
want to see the new rookies. They want to see
the new stars. And yeah, you know you will get
the practice. And of course it's not the end all,
the be all, or anything like that, but it does
shut up some flags. That does send them some flags
when you see that, you know what I.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
Mean, Arnie, No, I don't, because you have bad practice.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Well, Jason, Jason B. Diamond said this to that, having
a bad practice when the defense knows the plays, who cares? Yeah, exactly,
just because they know the plays, that doesn't mean anything.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
You don't think it means anything if an opposing team
knows the plays that you're gonna run. So you had
no problem with the sign stealing controversy. For me, after
you destroyed all of it, it cracks me up. I
let's hit some of these tweets as seeking genius one
I'm gonna play show. Everybody should go follow us at
Fox Sports Radio. Arnie's already had on the tweets, but
(33:06):
I did see this one. JV Wrights Kyrie's Boston stint
was a bigger disaster than purple ketchup, Fire Festival and
mobile ESPN rolled into one. But the Celtics will care
more about winning title number eighteen than beating Kyrie. I
(33:27):
agree with that, I mean obviously, but there's you could
tell I don't remember purple ketchup. Do you remember purple
Ketch No?
Speaker 2 (33:33):
I'm not sure what that was. I don't remember that.
Like I said, only really diehard Celtic fans are gonna
go ahead. Maybe beating Kyrie's kind of like the cherry
on top of the Sunday, you know what I mean, Like, Yeah,
they want their eighteenth championship and now that they're going
toead and beat Kyrie, that kind of just adds a
little bit to the flavor there.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yeah, I will say.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
It adds a little bit more spice for us, right,
it adds another level of spice and intrigue. It adds
something that I'm sure the broadcast partners will play up.
I'm sure we'll see video thousand times, aren't he of
the stomping allegedly on the on mid court?
Speaker 1 (34:14):
Right, everyone lost their mind. I'm sure we'll see that
quite a bit.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
I'll just be real intrigued to sell see how Kyrie
handles it, because it seems to me like he's having
the time of his life. But yet I also don't
know if it's like one, he's one kind of blow
up away from this thing going south.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Do you think it's gonna be a good series? We
haven't even brought that up. Do you do you think
it's gonna be a good series? Will go seven? Will
be close?
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Well, I know this much. It's not gonna start till
June sixth, to regardless. Yeah, so even if if both
series are over in the next two days, they're not
gonna start for nothing.
Speaker 2 (34:47):
That's incredible, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (34:50):
But well, let's let's dive into that next. Do we
think Boston and I almost say Minnesota. Do we think
Boston and Dallas is gonna be a good series? Is
in one that you'll look forward to? Is it a
good matchup? Dive into it next. We're rolling on a
Sunday night and to a Monday morning right here on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Let's go. It is a It's memorial day.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
Man, We'll be uh, we'll be paying tribute to those
who made the ultimate sacrifice throughout the day. It's it's
an incredibly poignant holiday, and I hope everyone takes a
moment to remember those who made a daylight today on
the well is not quite min out on the East
coast yet, right, make a day like Monday possible? So thoughts, memories, love, Usa, Usa, Usa.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Amen to that, Amen, Arnie?
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Is this game for?
Speaker 2 (35:48):
Is this just now on the bottom of the seventh
in between? Yeah, forty two Cardinals the Cubs and uh,
I'm like, hey, let's go get some extra indings in
this thing and see how long we can take this.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
Well, I'm here for it, right, I mean, what else
do we have to do tonight? I mean, Todd's out tonight.
Tweets have been okay to the show. We got a
lot of people helping us out. On the purple ketchup
July tenth of two thousand, Heines decided to make purple ketchup.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
I don't know why I missed that. I don't remember
that all.
Speaker 3 (36:18):
I don't remember it at all. It just looks terrible
like How could there even be someone in an ideal
room that says, you know what, I think would be
a good idea to make the ketch up purple?
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Like, it doesn't even make any sense.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Didn't they make chocolate mayonnaise?
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Oh my gosh, Well, I'm not googling that because I
don't know if that's code for anything. A Head News
rights on Twitter way too early. NBA Finals prediction Bavs
in six or seven, both complete sweeps and get the
weeks plus, get the week's plus of rest. Boston will
(36:54):
have no answers for arrested Washington, Lively and Gifford Gaffern.
It doesn't matter if Luca or Kyrie produced that much.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Why I think.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
Totally disagree with Yeah, I disagree a matter fact. I
think the take away the two stars from each team,
and I think Hartford a Holiday and White, if not equal,
better than what you'll get in Dallas. A matter of fact,
you know how Horford was great the last game. You
don't know if you're gonna get a great Al Harford
or average out. I mean, it could be one of
(37:27):
the other. But he's played well and he's obviously at
the Holiday is a good defender too. So I I
would like Boston in that one, probably in like six
or seven.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
There's there's always these moments where when I'm watching I
kind of forget that true holiday want to ring with Milwaukee?
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Right, Yeah, how did they get him?
Speaker 3 (37:46):
He was supposed to be the future, the next big thing?
So what do you I mean overall, feel like, are
you making Boston your favorite in this going forward?
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Oh, Boston's going to be the favorite at least I
think I.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Know that from Vegas, but I mean Harnie favorite going forward?
Speaker 2 (38:01):
Yeah, yeah, They're They're gonna be the favorite. I would
make them the favorite. Matter of fact, I'm wondering if
Luca and Kyrie could possibly wear on now, not that
Tatum and Brown or you know, Young Spring Chickens or
anything like that. But I think they have more left
to take. Plus, Boston's had perhaps the easiest road in
the history of sports, uh, to get to the NBA Finals.
(38:24):
It's been a joke. And I mean they're playing a
Pacers team that lost Halliburton. They played a Miami team
that lost Butler whom and who they played in the
second round that they lost with injuries?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Well did you did you mention Milwaukee.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Yeah, at Milwaukee too.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
So no, Milwaukee was Indiana. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm
a I'm a more and that's that's that's my Well,
are they going to get back Porzingis?
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Well, again, that'd be good if they did, but they
don't need him to win the finals. They don't need
him to go ahead and and win the whole thing.
So I think they'll be okay with out him.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Okay. I tend to be someone that thinks.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
H without Donovan Mitchell, that's right, thank you.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
He tends to be a guy that I think can
be a difference maker for him. Not not a difference
maker like Kyrie or Luca for Dallas, but a difference
maker to give him another body. And he's been playing
pretty well. But you think they can win without him.
You're not worried about the Porzingis Andrey No.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
Like I said, it's been easy for the Celtics going
up till now, so they're it's not like they've been
worn down. They're well rested, and you know they've had
an easy goal of it, so they they really should
be the freshness of the two teams.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
If if your knicks would have been at one hundred percent.
Are they in the finals right now?
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Are they in the Eastern Conference Finals?
Speaker 2 (39:44):
Absolutely? If Milwaukee would have been if the Knicks were
one hundred percent, they'd win the NBA Championship.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
I don't know about that because.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
You didn't know are we going to play this game?
You asked me one question at a time, and then
you so what if the Knicks were one hundred percent,
we would have crushed the Pacers, we'd beat the Celtics,
and jeez, getting by Dallas wouldn't have been a problem.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
This is all off of Jalen Brunson, and uh.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Yeah, because Brunson looked so bad. It's just a playoffs series.
You couldn't stop Brunson if your life depended on it.
Nobody on Dallas could. It would be a it'd be
a crushing. We would have just crushed.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Frushing, that's right, man.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
And then you would have been able to tell everyone
finally the Knicks are back, and you would have.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
Finally I would have gone to the parade and everything.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
No, you would have said you would go to the parade,
and then you wouldn't.
Speaker 2 (40:38):
Now this time I would have gone to the parade.
Speaker 3 (40:41):
Well, it's it's irrelevant. Because they got hurt and they
probably wouldn't have got to the Celtics anyway. And I'll
tell you this much, I'd be more worried about a
healthy Milwaukee Bucks team than I would a healthy New
York Knicks team, that's for certain. But it's gonna be Celtics,
it's gonna be Mavericks. We'll previe it all coming up
an hour and ever two. But when we come back,
a lot of little football nuggets. We've had some practice reports,
(41:04):
some of them bs, some of them pretty good. And
we've got a good quarterback battle in Pittsburgh. Looks like
Russ Wilson has a leg up. We'll talk about it next.
All right, it's our two coming to you live from
the tyrack dot com studios.
Speaker 1 (41:17):

Speaker 1 (41:27):
The Way tire running.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Hey, by the way. On just a little off note here, Chris,
you know notice how I put the subject number two
on our off subject about the words spell baseball. Do
you know what that's about?
Speaker 3 (41:40):
Uh? The kids writing baseball and cursive?
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Is that it that's exactly what it is. They asked
a bunch of what was it fifteen twenty year old's
young kids to write the word baseball and cursive, and
like eighty or ninety percent couldn't do it. They couldn't
do it. What's going on with America nowadays?
Speaker 3 (42:00):
My gosh, how many times have you written cursive in
your adult life?
Speaker 2 (42:05):
I write cursive every week when I send you that,
when I send you the topics. Well, I mean true,
But my penmanship and my penmanship is real good too.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Do you want to put that to a vote tonight?
Speaker 2 (42:19):
Well, my penmanship is not yet, and it's terrible. Come on,
even are you saying I get praised for my penmanship?
Speaker 1 (42:26):
Who praises you for your penmanship? People?
Speaker 2 (42:29):
They say, well, that's good penmanship.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Man.
Speaker 3 (42:31):
The only person that praises you for your penmanship is
like PAC twelve guru, who I think is your burner account.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
No, no, I'm telling you I've signed something to go.
You have a great handwriting. I'm not kidding around about
that too. That's true. My dad had good handwriting.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
In the same way in this rundown that you send me,
people tell you you have good handwriting.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
Great penmanship, great bedmanship.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
Well, I mean I a.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Big I love to write, I love to sit down.
I don't type out a lot of things, very rarely do.
But I mean even you've got to admit, why the
hell would a kid have to learn cursive or even
know it?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Right now? What do you mean?
Speaker 2 (43:12):
How are you going to write? If you don't how
you're going to write something to somebody? If you if
you don't know how to write for crying out loud,
you type it out? Oh plate, what are you? What
are you going to carry a laptop on computer with Joey?
I gets you get there's text, dude on your phone.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Marny, you are sounding So now what do you do?
Speaker 3 (43:27):
Carry around this phone with you where you can type
everything out that you could possibly want to type?
Speaker 2 (43:32):
And you don't learn how to write cursive? They don't
teach you how to write cursive in school today.
Speaker 8 (43:36):
They took it out.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
They took it out, they took it out.
Speaker 9 (43:39):
I think because I did to cursive when I was
in third grade. But i'm what, class of twenty one,
so yeah, not a lot of my younger sister didn't
take cursive.
Speaker 8 (43:50):
Yeah, and she's class of twenty four.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
She's a whole generation of people growing up not.
Speaker 9 (43:56):
Also take cursive to Yeah, I think like after I
think after two thous in like thirteen twelve, they took
it off the curriculum.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
So when everybody's just going to print, then is that
what we're now?
Speaker 9 (44:06):
Because we also we had cursive class and then we
had computer class and they took out computer classes. Do
you have like iPad class or like you have iPads.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
Or is like computer shop or something like that.
Speaker 9 (44:17):
But they took out the computer We learned like coding
and stuff, and we took that out too.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:22):
I mean my daughter, my eight year oh gosh, she's tenure.
My ten year old doesn't learn cursive, but she's taught
it to herself because she likes to write. So yeah,
I don't understand why this was a big deal. A
lot of people. I'm realizing a lot of people don't
have kids. Is what I saw. Whenever everyone was freaking
out about this on Twitter, it.
Speaker 2 (44:39):
Was I'm like, I was just shocked. I'm like, how
could you not.
Speaker 9 (44:41):
Know cursive though, because like signatures and stuff, how do you.
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Sign your name?
Speaker 9 (44:48):
I think it's good for big X or something I learned.
I learned cursive in English and Arabic, so I can,
I can.
Speaker 3 (44:55):
Like, So, when was the last time he signed your
name on something on the show sheet?
Speaker 2 (45:01):
Today? Okay?
Speaker 3 (45:03):
Your your last time you signed something like an official
document or anything that you had to sign that you
didn't like, docu sign?
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Oh gosh, every day there's something I've got to go
ahead and sign.
Speaker 1 (45:18):
Okay, are you serious?
Speaker 2 (45:20):
You don't You don't sign anything when you go to
the bank, or.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Well, I don't go to who goes to the bank anymore?
Speaker 4 (45:25):
What?
Speaker 5 (45:25):
What?
Speaker 8 (45:25):
Everything is online?
Speaker 1 (45:27):
Digital banking are?
Speaker 8 (45:28):
Like everything's online?
Speaker 2 (45:29):
Yez? You never signed your name. There's no reason to
sign your name?
Speaker 9 (45:34):
No, really, and it's it's it's electric like you you
can even do it on the computer.
Speaker 2 (45:38):
Oh that's true.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
Yeah, here you got Colin and hash your back. You
got Colin. Colin writes cursive writing every day. Don't people
write their signature anymore?
Speaker 2 (45:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (45:47):
They do, but like barely. You can like do it
very and it fixes it for you.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
Let me just get this right. The new generation you
can't even sign their names.
Speaker 9 (45:55):
Well, okay, no, because that's exactly because some of us
some of us, but it's not as common because now
you can like half asset and people will like the
computer will fix it for you and they'll make it.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
I actually I do.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
I can actually do my name in pure cursive. It's
just gonna take me an extra minute because I got
to concentrate and do it.
Speaker 1 (46:18):
I'm just doing my signature.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
It's just kind of like I get kind of like
you know, like the P and then just like initials
and whatever and just kind of like somehow squiggly lined stuff.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
Oh that's great. We got infants that could write better
than you.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Apparently not. I mean, did you not see the thing
that got that that got sent out? I mean, apparently
we don't have infants that can write. So I I
just I'm kind of surprised. I've been surprised by the
amount of people that are shocked by this.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
It was it was a big deal, I cause you
knew exactly what I was talking about.
Speaker 1 (46:45):
Well I knew.
Speaker 3 (46:46):
And then it's also funny because I felt like they
found the most vulnerable kids possible on this or like,
what does that mean?
Speaker 1 (46:55):
This kid looks like a dummy? Get them?
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Hey, come here, try to write this. Let's see you
write this, And none of it could even come close oh.
Speaker 8 (47:01):
I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 9 (47:02):
Like the American system, we're like failing with a lot
like math and reading, Like a lot of kids can't
read their they're even their like age.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
For you to tell people, I don't need to know
how to read. I got audio books. What do I
need to know how to read? For?
Speaker 1 (47:14):
Right? I mean you do have audio books?
Speaker 2 (47:16):
Stop it is fire.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
Actually, I will add though, the fact the fact that
you literally said, whenever we asked about writing a letter,
what are you going to do? Run around with a
computer is probably the fun was almost like we.
Speaker 9 (47:31):
Have cell phones and people do computers or iPads and
they we have portable keyboards.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
So you gotta sign your name, you gotta see it
a line. Geez, you just get a little get get
a little a pen for.
Speaker 9 (47:45):
The touch the apple pen to right, you can get
an apple pie.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
Your wife not knowing how to stilce. There you go.
That's great.
Speaker 3 (47:54):
I'm going to screenshot Arnie's rundown. I'm going to put
it on Twitter, and I'm gonna ask if you feel
like Arnie has, how did you describe your penmanship?
Speaker 2 (48:04):
Great penmanship?
Speaker 9 (48:05):
I'm gonna read it right now, watch and let's say
if I can even read it. I doubt I can, though.
Speaker 3 (48:10):
I'm putting on Twitter right now at playing show, and
then you guys can decide if Arnie has great penmanship.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
Well this is not the best, but my best. No no, no, no, no,
no, no no no, no.
Speaker 9 (48:21):
Standing on all you said, you said it was great,
so we're gonna hold you to that.
Speaker 2 (48:24):
At least you can read it. You said put what
you sent me last week. If we can read it,
you couldn't read anything you You.
Speaker 3 (48:30):
Could put that out too, And I guarantee you I
will win a pull decisively over you whenever it comes
to and I look like hieroglyphics. I think just because
Arnie is so set in the old school way that
in his mind, if these kids don't know how to
number things by Roman numerals and then cursive, right, well
obviously they're.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
Going to face you.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
Wait, how do you write an outline if you don't
use Roman numerals?
Speaker 8 (48:53):
You just use dots man, You use dots man dots?
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Are these crazy actual numbers? Yeah? I can put up there.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
I just gotta read. I gotta read a treat that
caved and said change the subject. I'm getting depressed about
this generation. Yeah, Yeah, it is depressing. This generation can't
even spell or write their name.
Speaker 8 (49:11):
That's you just sound like a hater. Look, we get it.
You used to write on rocks like that's not.
Speaker 3 (49:22):
Yes, Paul Wright's cursive is so nineteen ninety five, literally,
UCLA Dodger, Frank, Does Arnie signed stuff with a government
name or does he sign stuff as the stinking genius?
Speaker 1 (49:34):
Good question?
Speaker 3 (49:34):
Yeah, do you just sign it all stinking genius or
do you have a government name that goes along with.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Arnie span You're in a great penmanship with that too.
Speaker 3 (49:42):
Ralph writes, I had to learn cursive back in elementary school,
well before iPads, when we had Macintosh back then, well
before iMac. Yeah, hey I could really well, Arnie can
make y'all feel older.
Speaker 1 (49:53):
But we used to have to go to a computer lab.
Speaker 7 (49:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (49:55):
Yeah, we had a computer lab with the Dell. We
had the Dells in the windows and yeah, yeah, it's
but they stopped it like right like around like twenty fifteen,
twenty sixteen, they stopped and they switched it all out
with iPads and chromebooks.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
No computer lab for me, my friend, that didn't exist
when I was around.
Speaker 8 (50:12):
Yeah, you just had regular penny.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
We just we just wrote cursive as what we dependent
paper and a number two feather pen Yeah, I had
a number two pencil.
Speaker 3 (50:20):
There you go, number two and the chief, the chief tablet.
Speaker 1 (50:24):
You had it all. It was good. It was when
life was was was good.
Speaker 3 (50:27):
Right, it was back to the good, and the Mets
were good and the Knicks were good.
Speaker 2 (50:30):
It was.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
It was a different time for everybody.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
The time the Cardinals and the Cubs have finally gone
to the ninth inning. Ryan Helsey, the cardinal Cardinal closer
is on right now, so we'll keep tabs on this game.
Saint Louis up four to two and the Seger I
think everything else is a final right now. Right, we're
pretty much done with everything else in sports now that
NASCAR has tapped out. On the rest of the night,
(50:53):
my man Christopher Bell got to win. I want to
talk a little NFL with you, beyond your hitting of
Caleb Williams. Are you intrigued at all by the Steelers
quarterback battle right now or even if we're calling it
a battle, or does this Russell Wilson be justin fields
and what could mean for the Steelers? Does he do
anything for you? Because I don't know why I'm in
on it.
Speaker 2 (51:13):
No, I don't think there's a battle. I think Russell's
going to go ahead and be the starter. Now. I
am intrigued to see how he's going to do, how
Pittsburgh's gonna do, if there's gonna be any changes, how
long they'll go with Russell Wilsell if he starts off
real bad, and if they'll make a change, will be
one game, two games that I can't answer. But I've
intrigued about all that stuff. But no, I'm not intrigued
about the preseason because the or the battle, I guess
(51:35):
is what you're saying. Because Russell's going to be the starter. Correct.
They already told him that he was going to be
the starter, no matter what. I think they're going to
move up to that little okay, bar an injury or
anything like that.
Speaker 1 (51:45):
Then let me reposition it.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
Okay, not so much the battle then, but just, oh
my gosh, that dude hit that ball a freaking mile
four to three. Cardinals leave the cups right now. Who
was that? Oh my gosh, that ball was out to
center field. And I think the first pitch always eating
half first pitch on the top of the ninth inning.
All right, are you intrigued by how it works?
Speaker 1 (52:08):
Maybe? In other words, you have two guys that started a.
Speaker 3 (52:11):
Lot of games for their teams last year and two
guys that were traded for essentially a bag of footballs.
I mean, Russ wasn't even traded, he was cut. Are
you intrigued to see if it works or if one
guy maybe ends up kind of running away from the
other and being able to do more for the team.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
I don't think anybody's gonna run away from the other
because I don't think Pittsburgh has a dynamic offense, and
you know, I do like justin field. Do you understand that,
don't you? So I'm fan, and I think in the
long run, he's gonna be the you know, in the
long term, he'll be the starting quarterback. But as of
right now, it's gonna be Russell Wilson. So no, I
(52:49):
don't think they're gonna run away from anybody. They they
did sure up the offense a little bit, so I
think they're gonna go ahead and be a little bit better.
Remember they they haven't finished sub five hundred and how
many years, so they're always gonna be right there in
the thickest things. So I think they're gonna stay with
Russell for a while, barring injury or if he plays
just so awful that they have no other choice than
(53:12):
make a change.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
I will, I'll find myself on team. I can't wait
to see Justin Fields and Pittsburgh. But for some reason, dude,
I don't know why. I think the Russell Wilson thing's
gonna work, aren't he?
Speaker 2 (53:25):
Yeah, but Fields isn't gonna play unless they put him
out there for like a two point conversion.
Speaker 1 (53:30):
I feel like.
Speaker 3 (53:31):
Air every backup into playing. What quarterback makes it through
the season anymore? What do we have sixty different starting quarterbacks?
Speaker 2 (53:39):
Well, he's not supposed to play. I mean it's supposed
to be Russell Wilson the whole way through. If anything,
I don't think Russell Wilson's gonna live up to any
expectations stealer fans out of him. I think Justin Fields
is going to be the better of the two right now.
I'man based on their age and stuff like that. Not
that Russell Wilson wasn't a great quarterback back then He's
just no longer that same Russell Wilson. We saw the
(53:59):
year he's had in Denver. It's just not going to
cut it anymore. So it's time to move on.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
At stinking genius one.
Speaker 3 (54:06):
That's Arnie. I'm at playing show. I put up. I
put up the picture. It's a screenshot of Arnie's notes.
And you guys let me know about his penmanship. He claims.
Speaker 1 (54:15):
Great. Did I say fantastic penmanship?
Speaker 8 (54:20):
Okay, I see n C double a softball.
Speaker 2 (54:23):
See you could read that.
Speaker 3 (54:24):
I see, But I mean great penmanship is not about
just being able to read it.
Speaker 8 (54:29):
I can like barely like read this though, like.
Speaker 4 (54:32):
It just I don't know, definitely telling an exclamation mark
in the Arnie the W N B A I did.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
We didn't get that Roman. You don't even know how
to read No Roman numerals and numerals.
Speaker 8 (54:46):
Wait, is it V like five?
Speaker 9 (54:48):
And then if it's before like it's like you subtracted
or whatever.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
There's a lot of mad that you can't read Roman numerals.
Speaker 9 (54:55):
Okay, No, No, I missed the day that we learned
Roman numerals, and when I got back, we stopped learning about.
Speaker 8 (55:03):
It, so I never got to learn Roman numerals.
Speaker 2 (55:05):
So no Roman numerals, no spelling, and no writing. Great,
you're hired.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
I read.
Speaker 9 (55:13):
Now my watch has Roman numerals, and I can look
at it and I can see it.
Speaker 3 (55:17):
But did you ever get hired because they said you
had great penmanship or that you knew Roman numerals?
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Was that ever anything?
Speaker 3 (55:25):
When you got your job where you're like man his penmanship,
the way he writes incursive, those Roman numerals.
Speaker 1 (55:30):
Guys, we got to hire Arni space.
Speaker 8 (55:31):
I didn't have no jobs during the Great Depression. You guys.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
Know what time? What time I got hired because I
had a job interview at nine o'clock in the morning,
and I got there at nine o'clock and the person
forgot and wasn't there and didn't come back the three
in the afternoon. That I sat in the office until
three in the afternoon. And she felt so bad. She
was like, just just hire this guy whatever, whatever we're
looking for, just give him the job. Fine, that's enough.
Speaker 7 (55:58):
Did you arrive in horse and buggy?
Speaker 1 (56:00):
Wow?
Speaker 8 (56:01):
God, he used his camel. He had the Jesus the
Jesus andals.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Jez By the way, you got a couple of reactions
to it, Julian says, looks fine to me.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
Crypti writes it's beautiful. What language is that?
Speaker 8 (56:16):
Elyphics?
Speaker 3 (56:18):
And then Bake writes, this makes a doctor's penmanship look
like type setting.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
I do write like a doctor.
Speaker 9 (56:26):
And that's why people die, because you can barely read
their handwriting.
Speaker 1 (56:30):
All right.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
When we come back to the ti raq dot com studios,
I got more NFL stuff. I feel like the it's
gonna be a topic this week because there's not a
lot going on and we're gonna have to wait and
wait and wait and wait and wait and.
Speaker 1 (56:44):
Wait to get to the NBA Finals.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
So Arnie, I want to talk to you about the
potential change to the NFL schedules coming up next with
Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
Oh, we're getting as yeah.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Yeah. We do have some brain news tonight that we
haven't talked about. Steve's brought it up in his update
a few times, the Ronald Acuna injury out for the
year after his MVP season, So we'll get into that
a little bit later on in the program. Minnesota falls down.
The falls behind three games and in the best of
seven with Dallas Mavericks one went away from the NBA Finals,
(57:20):
won sixteen to one oh seven.
Speaker 1 (57:21):
What else.
Speaker 3 (57:22):
Oh, Joseph Neugarten wins The Indy five hundred, Christopher Bell
wins a rain shortened Coke six hundred.
Speaker 1 (57:31):
Yeah, you want to read some of these real quick? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Oh yeah, we're getting tons.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
We can sooner, Lisa Wright learn, let's learn win and
win not to capitalize weather Man rights.
Speaker 1 (57:42):
It's like my handwriting Mark Storm.
Speaker 3 (57:44):
I think it's pretty good, about a seven out of
ten mine and most doctors, lawyers and colleges. I know,
looks like we were drunk. I don't know how that
doesn't look like he was drunk when he hears.
Speaker 2 (57:55):
Yeah, and remember I didn't take my time and write
it perfect. It was just for some notes for you
and I. It wasn't like it was, you.
Speaker 3 (58:01):
Know, yeah, which is why Colin's kind of pissing me
off right now. He's right, Alreadie's cursive is pretty decent.
Can't be too critical when he's writing notes for himself
versus a memo to someone.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (58:12):
I have to read them too, Colin.
Speaker 3 (58:15):
I have to read them too, their notes to me,
because it's twenty six Is that what you're up to tonight?
Speaker 2 (58:22):
Tonight? There was twenty twenty four Roman numerals twenty four.
At least you know how to at least you know
how to read Roman numerals and sign your name and
all that stuff.
Speaker 3 (58:33):
Though, Sharon writes, you all are just being mean. His
penmanship is beautiful. All the haters are just admitting they
don't know how to write or read cursive.
Speaker 2 (58:43):
That is that is the problem a lot of our listeners.
Now I'm starting to figure out they can't write, they
can't read, and they don't have to do anything.
Speaker 3 (58:51):
So Sharon's I had followed you, I think I'm gonna
unfollow you for that.
Speaker 9 (58:56):
It's crazy because these are the same people that like
when they're Competer isn't working, they're gonna ask us to
fix it, and we just have to plug it in
and unplug it and plug it back in.
Speaker 8 (59:06):
Can you guys forget your guys' passwords as well too?
Speaker 5 (59:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (59:09):
I do like what my buddy John Lunn said. His
handwriting is exactly what he has listed is number one
under ivy Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
What did you have?
Speaker 2 (59:18):
I put looking horrible?
Speaker 1 (59:22):
Bill? Right? Ay?
Speaker 3 (59:24):
Plus come on, now, come on, how is this Mary
on the show going to judge Arnie's cursive?
Speaker 1 (59:31):
If she can't write it.
Speaker 9 (59:32):
Hey hey, hey, hey, hey hey, I can write cursive.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
I said it.
Speaker 9 (59:37):
I can write cursive. Mary Matt can write cursive, thanks
very much.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
Grade three users cursive to write capitol and low case letters,
spacing letters, words, and sentence is a probably great four.
Speaker 1 (59:47):
And no, Bill, No they don't. They don't do that.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
Don't do that anymore. Bill, Come on, dude, what There's
only one thing they don't do anymore, Chris, I found out,
and that's after let's say you're nobody types. But if
or you know, typing something out after you put a period,
you don't have to double space anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
That's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
That's what I still double space though.
Speaker 9 (01:00:08):
I still you only double space if you're starting a
new paragraph.
Speaker 8 (01:00:12):
That's it. That's what I learned in school. Like FORR
English class I.
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
Double space like crazy. It's audio books.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
As somebody who writes a lot, it was really hard
to get past the double space.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
I mean really hard to go. For one. It just
doesn't it doesn't seem like it looks right. Brian writes.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
Along with cursive, math was highly emphasized while Arnie was
in school, as he graduated a year before the Apicus
came out very legible, not the neatest. You know what,
people think you're better than I think you are.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
Yeah, I'm getting a lot of love on the on
the penmanship.
Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
So pretty decent. If he was a doctor, writes Gunny.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
So there's that I was, you know, if I didn't
get in the radio sports radio, I was my second choice,
was going to be a doctor.
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
Did you major in like pre mad or anything?
Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
No, not really. No, I just probably would have just
gone to med school. You don't have to major in
pre med to be a doctor.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
You know, so you you were planning on going to
med school.
Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
No, I just give it to the thought there. I
would have been a pretty good doctor, you know, probably
a surgeon. But you know, didn't work out that way.
Speaker 1 (01:01:17):
Okay, there is.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
I know to write and read, right, curtse Off, I
could become a doctor, right I don't, Arnie Spaniard, pH d. Doctor.
Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
I don't think writing cursive is the baseline for being
a doctor.
Speaker 1 (01:01:30):
But okay, whatever it takes.
Speaker 3 (01:01:33):
Did you find any any entertainment Arnie today in the hockey?
Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Because I thought it was great.
Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
You said you were tuned into it, maybe a little
bit more than the racing and that's fine, but I
feel like we're getting some good stand I mean, the
Ragers lost a two goal lead but come back and
win it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
That was so exciting. That was great. That was a
fun game to watch. Mobrowski, who would not let more
than two goals in for what seven or eight straight games,
gave up four. There was a lot of hit there.
It's gonna be a fun series. Rangers up two games
to one and that so yeah, I was enjoying that
one a little bit. I had a good time watching
that well.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
And I'll say this much.
Speaker 3 (01:02:10):
You know, you always are a all the big markets
matter and things that and I don't necessarily disagree, but
I don't think you need a big market to be successful.
I would imagine, though, that Gary Bettman is rooting like
crazy for the Rangers to make the Stanley Cup Finals,
right because I love what the Florida Panthers are doing.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
They've been consistently good.
Speaker 3 (01:02:32):
But if you get the Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final, yes,
suddenly you've got yourself a little bit of Jews as
far as the market, as far as a team, and
as far as I think some interest ratings.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Bonanza. I remember ratings are not that high for the
NHL to begin with. Anyway, this may be set. I'm
not gonna say it's gonna set records or anything like that,
but you're certainly gonna get a good bump, a good
increase with the Rangers being in the Stanley Cup. That's
not even arguable.
Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
And Colin brings up the best point of all. He says,
how can you tell we're at the halfway mark of
the NFL offseason. It's Sunday night and we're arguing over
Arnie's cursive writing skills.
Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
Well, I will say this.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
I find about that even during the regular part of
the football season, because Arnie refuses to type anything out
or write it where other people can read it.
Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
But I'm just finally I'm out in my pill.
Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
It's like when your wife gets tired, or your buddy
or your friend, they finally reach a point where something's
made you so mad you got to say something about it.
I'm trying to say something here and no one is
helping me, and your people are crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
And this is your favorite time because what is it now?
Thirteen weeks, thirteen Sundays since the last NFL game, and
what thirteen Sundays until the next NFL game. So we're
exactly at that halfway point right.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Well, yes, but we've still got a long way togo.
Speaker 5 (01:03:47):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
No, it's a lot faster from here on out to
the games, because once we really start getting into the summer,
it's like the NFL's begne. We're reading about practices, we're
seeing stuff, geting ready for the preseason games. The college
football is gonna start in August. So football is pretty much,
as far as I'm concerned, starting in July. July.
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
Well see, and then I disagree. I feel like this
is the desert. I feel like this is the stretch
where nothing happens and it takes forever. When the season
is over, you get the draft, you get team building,
you get free agency. These OTA's no one's at them.
They don't let you watch them. You get a few
videos every now and then people knee jerk to dumb
(01:04:30):
reports or over the top reports, whatever it is. If
it's Caleb sucks or if it's Lad mccoile.
Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
You your teas was. When we get back, we're gonna
tell you what's going on in OTAs. What do they mean?
Stuff for other teams, but just not for the Chicago
Bears or what.
Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
No, it's it's a story, it's a report. I just
think it's dumb to lose your mind like you are.
You're right.
Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
I just sent you the article just so you could
keep up to date on what's going on with your
beloved Caleb Williams.
Speaker 1 (01:04:59):
That's all, Okay. What you sent me is out there
on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:05:04):
Arnie, just wanted to make sure you had seen it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
You know you basically your first comment is might not
be that good.
Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
So you are putting way too.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
Much right, looking horrible, But the show is So you're
looking horrible.
Speaker 3 (01:05:21):
And pay the show is today. But you, even in
your crazy hot take mine, have to say it's pretty
dumb to start panicking over one practice.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
Oh, yes, you're right, it's there's no panic here. But
sure sounds like it does make you scratch your head
a little bit, does it not?
Speaker 3 (01:05:38):
No, it doesn't, Just like it didn't make me scratch
my head whenever in the first NBA game in the
Summer League women Yama played, everybody thought he sucked.
Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
It's practice, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Steve the Seger is in the house to get a
squad up on everything that is now a final in
the sports world.
Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
What's going on, Steve?
Speaker 7 (01:05:54):
It is all final, and I've enjoyed the education conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
This our Oh fair.
Speaker 7 (01:05:58):
Enough, I will say serious point. I realized once I
started into the adult world that I knew more than
some other people around me. Not because I was smarter,
but because I was a sports fan. And some of
the examples where you've grown up on Super Bowls, you
would learn your Roman numerals. You love college sports, you
get better at US geography, you learn basic mass from
(01:06:19):
the standings, et cetera. So parents, let sports be part
of your kid's life. Yes, that includes playing something because
you learn teamwork and you're gonna need to learn how
to lose. Sports is very beneficial for life, even if
you don't make a career out of it. But yes,
everything is final tonight. Even the WNBA late game. LA
lost at home again eighty four eighty three to Dallas.
(01:06:41):
Everything's final. That baseball game in Saint Louis went to
the Cardinals four to three over the rival Cubs, five
straight wins for the Cards. It was about a two
and a half hour rain delay at the start. Paul
Goldschmidt two home runs, all four RBIs speaking of baseball,
Arnie references Arizona Wildcats. They will be hosting an NCAA
region that's right, that's right. Oregon State will be as well.
(01:07:03):
And you see Santa Barbara from the Big West for
the first time is going to be hosting a regional
on its campus. But tomorrow is when the full sixty
four team field for the NCAA Baseball tournament gets announced.
We already know it was announced today there will be
five regional sites in SEC country, including at Tennessee. Five
regional sites with ACC schools hosting. And we know that
(01:07:26):
college softball. Now that the best of three super regionals
ended tonight, Stanford eliminated LSU eight nothing. It'll be Stanford
against number one Texas Thursday night in a opening game.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Height the saga, there's a D three baseball team that's
playing in the championship of the school went belly up, so.
Speaker 7 (01:07:46):
The school doesn't exist.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
The school doesn't exist as of like a week ago,
so they're playing without the backing of the school. I
don't know the name. Off the topic.
Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
They're Stingham's Southern Baseball.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
Oh, yeah, that's it, that's it.
Speaker 7 (01:07:57):
Yeah, they still have the uniforms they haven't been asked
or anything.
Speaker 1 (01:08:01):
And they all got sick. They all got food poisoning too.
Speaker 7 (01:08:04):
Oh oh goodness story, this is gonna be a movie.
Year's well. Carl Anthony Towns has not had such a
great series so far from long distance. We got a
stat to support that. But the Dallas Mavericks are leading
the NBA's West Finals three games to none after dominating
the final minutes against Minnesota tonight one sixteen, one oh
seven the final. This game was tied with under four
(01:08:26):
minutes left, one o four, one oh four. Carl Anthony
Towns finished oh of eight from three point range. The
MAVs as a team from three pointers fourteen of twenty eight.
In fact, Dallas shot fifty six percent from the floor overall.
There's a great stat from AP through the first three
games of any playoff series, you've had a guy attempt
(01:08:48):
at least twenty three pointers like Towns over five hundred
times in NBA history since they've had the three point shot,
only two have been worse than Karl Anthony Towns at
shooting three pointers three games into a series. Because he's
three for twenty two so far and still jacking them up.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
John Starks nope.
Speaker 7 (01:09:06):
Jalen Brown last year actually started two of twenty from
long distance, and Jay Crowder a few years ago in
a first round started two of twenty three of twenty
two from long distance for towns so far, Game four
at Dallas on Tuesday nights. Celtics lead the East Finals
three games to none. Will be at Indiana on the
holiday Monday night for Game four. NHL Rangers, one seed
(01:09:30):
in the East, lead that conference final two games to
one after winning in overtime at Florida five to four.
NASCAR's Coca Cola six hundred on Fox TV did not
complete all four hundred laps. The winner as Christopher Bell
Bragkeslowski second red flag stoppage due to weather at about
lap two fifty of the four hundred after the lightning.
The storm, the humidity they called it, and temperature was
(01:09:51):
near ninety there at the start. Joseph Neugarden won the
Indy five hundred after a four hour rain de lay
at the start there they got all the last They
were able to race all two hundred before the curfew.
Pato Award was passed on the final lap and finished second.
Scott Dixon was third. Team owner Roger Penske gets his
twentieth victory at the Brickyard. New Garden won last year's
(01:10:14):
race as well, so he's the first repeat winner in
over twenty years. Last month, New Garden had his season
opening win disqualified because Team Penske had illegal software on
its cars and New Garden used it, So I guess
that puts this in the past. Kyle Larson had wanted
to drive both full races today, but the thunderstorm delay
kept him at Indy. He finished eighteenth and then flew
(01:10:36):
after it had started. In Charlotte, Davis Riley won by
five strokes at Colonial, Scottie Scheffler tied for second place.
And in Major League Baseball, not just the Cardinal win tonight,
but a Cleveland win today. The Guardians have won nine
in a row, five to for the win at the Angels,
and their closer, Emmanuel Classe not only got his seventeenth save,
(01:10:56):
his ERA is zero point three to three, so far good.
Your reference hockey ratings will get to that in basketball
in a few minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Wow. Nice stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
We come to you live every single hour here on
Fox Sports Radio from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (01:11:10):
Tyrack dot Com.
Speaker 3 (01:11:11):
We'll help you get there, unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free roadhazard protection, tire rack dot com, the way tire
buying should be. They were all over the Indy five
hundred today. That was really cool to see. You heard
Steve bring it up Joseph Newgarden. Second straight year he
woned another win for Roger Pinske. Emotional for a team
Pinske with everything they had gone through. But again, I
(01:11:33):
know Arnie didn't watch a lap, so I won't waste.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
No I just you know, I did say this though.
It used to be a big deal many many more
years ago. But I used to watch it when I
was a lot younger. Chris, Seriously, it was a big
thing and you'd watch a lot of the race, if
not all of the race. It just doesn't have that
same luster that it used to have. I don't know why.
Don't ask me why it doesn't have that luster. It
just doesn't feel like it has the same type of
(01:11:57):
ratings that it would have back in the day.
Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
The nineties openers like the Who Was at ABC? They
had Paul Page that was on the broadcast. They had
like the top Gun music that would play behind it
the opening. I guess you could say vignette they had
for the Indy five hundred was my favorite as a kid.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
I loved it. I watched it like ten times online
today and then they got going.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
I just I knew Kyle Larson, I knew Joseph Newgarten
because he'd been on with us before. Helio Casser Nevis
has been on with us before. But I mean, it's
just there's not a lot of no names in this
thing right now. So maybe someday it'll get back to
what it once was. But I love it. I got
to watch it in piece.
Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
It was a beautiful thing.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
I'm sure you had a great day. You enjoyed yourself today,
that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:12:42):
Yeah. I played golf too. It's terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Oh get out of you? What did you shoot?
Speaker 1 (01:12:46):
I well, I didn't play all eighteen all got to
play seven. One of those. I'm one of those. I was.
Speaker 3 (01:12:51):
I was about five hundred after seven. But it was
just it was one of those days where once you
got going, it was slow and there's a lot of
people on the course and I was playing. It's the
same So I thought, listen, I gotta get home. Arnie's
already sent me the rundown. I gotta make sure. And
I don't know this person that tweeted is like very legible.
All right, well tell me what number three is under
Caleb Williams. If it's very legible in the handwriting, they're
(01:13:14):
Sharon or let's see who else says it's illegible, Ben Alameyer,
you tell me what number three is on it because
it takes me an hour to read everything. But I
also I was excited about the show tonight because I
do feel like there's a little juice with the NBA.
I feel like there's a lot of excitement about what's
coming up in the NFL offseason, and I do feel
(01:13:35):
like that the college rule changes that took place this week.
I see, what do you have this at? Is this
on roman numeral at all? Roman numeral fourteen?
Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
Oh fourteen all the way down in fourteen?
Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:13:47):
Yeah, because I mean there's if I went in the
order of what the roman numeral is, don't go on that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
Yeah, I just put it in any order. I don't
put it in that's right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
I think it's a fascinating time for college sports because
I don't know if this this is going to lead
to more people losing jobs because they got to pay athletes.
Speaker 1 (01:14:05):
I don't know if that's gonna end up in Texas,
A and M.
Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Trev Alberts comes in and fires a lot of good
people and he's like, we got to prepare to pay
these players. So does that mean we're going to see
more people get fired in athletic departments?
Speaker 1 (01:14:16):
Arnie?
Speaker 3 (01:14:16):
Does it really truly mean that we're gonna now have
a rev share that's going to be universally embraced? I
cover this twenty four seven, three sixty five, right, this
is my life, and I'm confused about how this thing
is gonna work out right now. So I still feel
like it's gonna be the haves and the have nots.
And I feel like with this settlement and it's three
lawsuits that are essentially being settled, I don't necessarily know
(01:14:39):
if it's good for the non Power four leagues, and
I don't even know if it's good for two of
the Power four leagues.
Speaker 4 (01:14:45):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
Right now, when this first came out, the whole nil.
This is not what I expected, Chris. Matter of fact,
I'm really not sure what to make of this. I
would love to see a list on all let's say
there's just will make it easy one hundred guys on
the team, what is the first guy making, What is
the fiftieth guy making, What is the one hundredth guy making.
(01:15:06):
We don't know, right I would love to see those
numbers and what And that's just in football. What's the
basketball team making? What the girls basketball? The team, the
track and field, the baseball, hockey. I really would like
to take a look at the numbers to see what's
going out of there. Or there's all this money that
we're talking about with is two million or whatever it is,
(01:15:26):
is that what's gonna go straight twenty million? Is that
all just gonna go straight to the for the football program?
I'm not sure it's.
Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
Supposed to be twenty million for the entire athletic department,
for all of the all of the athletes.
Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
Twenty million.
Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
That doesn't seem like enough.
Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
It doesn't. But I mean, what is it right now?
I think we don't know. Yeah, And I'm also real perplexed.
And I know we got a break. Im Sager's got
his full update coming up in a bit, But how
are they going to determine fair market value for paying
those that are involved in the lawsuit? I mean, don't
even know what guys and gals are making in an
(01:16:02):
aile right now, and the only way we know is
if they tell us.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
And what about the people you have to pay just
to come visit your school, right.
Speaker 3 (01:16:09):
Well, that's got to go away. That's gotta go away.
That can't be a thing anymore now, that is, but
it is a thing. It's a big thing right now.
I don't think it's as big of a thing.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:16:18):
So I think for recruits to get paid to come
visit your school, I think a few people have tried it,
and I think there's a lot of schools that are like,
we're good.
Speaker 1 (01:16:27):
We're good. If we need to pay for you to
be here, best of luck wherever you.
Speaker 2 (01:16:31):
Go, gotcha.
Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
But you pay, you pay for them whenever they come
and sign with you. But as far as making a trip,
yeah no, I'm not. I'm not buying. That's is what's
the word. I'm looking for. Fruitful of a market as
some out there do. Doesn't happen. I'm sure it does.
But I mean if you came to me and you're like, hey,
I need I need five thousand dollars to visit your school,
I'd be like, yeah, no, we're good. Enjoy your trip wherever.
Don't blame you, that's not happening here. But I'm intrigued
(01:16:55):
by it, aren't you. I want to see what kind
of difference it makes, if any.
Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
It's just going to make a difference with the guys
getting the money. I don't think it's going to make
a difference. I think the top half is always going
to have the money and be good teams. In the
bottom half will always be the bottom half?
Speaker 1 (01:17:09):
Will you know the bottom half? Because you've lived it?
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Wow, what we're better than Oklahoma?
Speaker 3 (01:17:14):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
I said to that article. I noticed you didn't get
to that.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
Which one's that?
Speaker 2 (01:17:18):
In? What number number five? Robo number five?
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:17:24):
What are you better than Oklahoma in?
Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
In football?
Speaker 1 (01:17:28):
You won the Alamo Bowl?
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
No, but I said to that thing where it said
they listened to Arizona as a playoff contender and Oklahoma
is just a team that's going bowling.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Okay, Well, do you do you have more than just
I sent it?
Speaker 1 (01:17:40):
I saw it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:41):
I sent it to you. Right, who's it from? What
difference does it make? As well as the degrees that
Arizona is better, That's all that matters to me.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (01:17:49):
Steve is Sega has an update next on Fox Sports Radio, Ah, Arnie,
is this what you guys would listen to in class?
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Is this really YEP tours? Of course?
Speaker 1 (01:18:02):
Which is funny because you're not that much older than me.
What are you?
Speaker 3 (01:18:05):
Fifty five, fifty six, forty six, forty six, Well you're
younger than me.
Speaker 8 (01:18:11):
You're one in twenty BT right.
Speaker 1 (01:18:13):
Twenty BT Wow?
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
Steve Wow, Miss Sager has everything we need to be
caught up on in the world of sports.
Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
What's going on?
Speaker 7 (01:18:21):
Steve Arnie was playing the piccolo in this He's one
of the Wow are you I think?
Speaker 1 (01:18:28):
I thought it was a cool head?
Speaker 7 (01:18:29):
You should you should have kept it. It has been
pointed out as the Dallas MAVs one tonight, I have
a chance for a four game sweep of Minnesota on
Tuesday Night that Kyrie Irving in his playoff career has
never missed an opportunity to clinch fourteen and oh when
he has a chance to close out a series, it's
unreal in his NBA career. In this case, it would
be a sweep. So we will see on Tuesday. Did
(01:18:50):
you notice before the NASCAR six hundred tonight, who said
the gentlemen start your engines. It was crew members from
Fox TV who'd been working twenty years plus because apparently
Fox won't have this race next year. Really, the new
TV contracts kick in seven year deals and they'll have
four TV partners for NASCAR next year, fourteen events for
(01:19:11):
the Fox company, fourteen events for the NBC company, and
then in the middle of the season splitting ten races
between Prime Video and TNT. NBC is going to farm
out some races to USA. Fox will keep Truck Series,
but things will not be the same exactly NASCAR TV
wise starting next year.
Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
Interesting.
Speaker 7 (01:19:32):
As far as TV Indy five hundred, Arne was right
that Kentucky Derby, for example, in Indy five hundred and
the racing in general used to be bigger. Those ten
pole events still get ratings. Indy five hundred was five
million viewers last year. Kentucky Derby last year was fifteen
million viewers. It was higher than that this year in fact,
(01:19:52):
when they got over sixteen million for the recent Kentucky Derby.
NBC hadn't had an audience that big for any TV
program since the NFL playoffs five years ago, five months ago,
it feels like five years ago. Once we five years
ago in TV ratings is kind of the dividing line
pre COVID post COVID of big audiences, because unless you're
(01:20:13):
the NFL, you don't get the big audiences before you.
Guys were mentioning earlier that if it's and it looks
like it will be a Boston Dallas NBA Finals is
again a good good ratings, Well, it'll get probably double
the ratings that the current series are getting just because
it's the finals. The highest rated finals in recent years
was when it was Boston Golden State about twelve and
a half million viewers. So far, for all the rounds
(01:20:36):
of the NBA Playoffs so far, they're averaging under four
million viewers, but that Boston Game one comeback for overtime
was about six and a half mil, and Game two
was about five and a half mil. Then ESPN gets
the New York Rangers in this round of the East Final.
They're getting two million and probably doing backflips because the
whole NHL Playoffs was under one point.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
Double or close to it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
Good stuff, Steve, all right, when we come back, a
lot of good tweets to get to beyond just the
cursive talk, A lot of good stuff to talk about,
including NBA Finals thoughts, including some Major League Baseball, and
obviously we honor those who pay the ultimate sacrifice. Happy
Memorial Day, we honor on Fox Sports Radio. Oh, we're

(01:21:46):
and our education system, then our podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:21:49):
Is going to be the show for you.
Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
Coming up whenever we're done here at foxsportsradio dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
We're getting a lot on that.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
Oh my goodness, well, I mean, I'm honestly shocked. I mean,
kudos to you, I guess and all your burner accounts,
because there is no way anyone can look at that
and go, oh yeah, yeah, that's good legible stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
But no, you got so it's good.
Speaker 3 (01:22:13):
Does a does a Celtics Mavericks series fire you up?
Speaker 1 (01:22:19):
I know what you're right, span, but it only fire
you up, It.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
Only fires me up because there's nothing better. It's what's left,
you know what. I mean, it's like saying I haven't
eaten in a week. Does a turkey sandwich fire you up?
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
It fires me up as I'm starving to death. I'm
starving to death, and that's what I'm gonna get. I'm
gonna get Boston in Dallas, and actually it's it's a
pretty good turkey sandwich. So hopefully it will go seven games.
There's some good matchups. Both teams obviously could score. You
have two stars, or at least two superstars on each team,
(01:22:52):
so we can take a look at that. So I
think there's a lot and plus of course, the whole
Kyrie used to play for Boston left them after two years,
so out all that you got a little bit of
intrigue in a storyline. So yeah, I think I think
it's certainly something that people are going to tune in for.
Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
So you had something on the Rundown tonight that I'm
not gonna lie I missed and was it was off
my radar because.
Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
I don't know how to say this.
Speaker 3 (01:23:21):
Listen, he has billions of downloads, and I know that
he's on the volume, and Colin loves.
Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
Him and and he's going to be on.
Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
He's going to be NonStop Arnie on everything that we
ever see. I'm talking about Draymond Green. Yeah, but I
can't stand him. I can't watch him, I can't listen
to him. It's just I don't know why they're shoehorning
him into the best show on TV. But here we are.
And I heard Mark Willard talking about it, and I
(01:23:50):
thought he was right. I feel like I see him
more on TV than I do. Well, I mean, the
Warriors are out of the playoffs, but yeah, even during
the season, I feel like I see him more on
TV than I do.
Speaker 1 (01:23:59):
Like playing still though I can't do it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
But his whole conversation, you got to fill me in
on Roman Numeral sixteen and what he had to say
about the NBA not setting players out.
Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
Yeah, he said, the NBA, Yes, the NBA doesn't set
up players to be wealthy after they're done playing in
the NBA, which is a whole bunch of garbage, because
you get a bunch of past NBA players to actually
speak to the curt or to the rookies about what
to do with their money, how to invest it. They
give you all kinds of financial people to speak to,
(01:24:34):
and if you ever wanted anybody to speak to, and
you may not know him because it maybe a little
bit before your time. Junior Bridgeman or the Milwaukee Bucks
and the Clippers. Do you remember m No, you don't
remember him. He was a you know, he was just
a it was a good player. I think he was
an All Star for a couple of years. He was
getting to the end of his career and he was
(01:24:56):
making about three hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year
back then. He oldest agent. I hope I'm telling the
story right. You know, you got to help me. I
have no money after after the season. I you know,
I got to find the way to keep living after
this NBA's done. And the agent took that money, and well,
it's just been incredible. He invested it in fast food
(01:25:19):
restaurants to the point where now Junior Bridgeman I think
is the second richest guy retired athlete behind Michael, behind
Michael Jordan. It's just fascinating. He bought Chili's, he bought Wendy's.
I believe he bought the Black Entertainment television later on.
But the money he made his money on, uh. I
(01:25:41):
believe Wendy's and Chili's and bought like hundreds I think
it was over one hundred of them and just became
a financial success. There's there's other guys too. I think
Vinnie Johnson. I think Vinny Johnson of the old Detroit
Pistons makes a boatload of money in auto parts. I
believe he has a global auto parts emporium or something
(01:26:05):
that I hope I'm thinking about the right Pervintie Johnson
of Microwave.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
Vinnie Johnson Microwave. Yeah, well here's my question.
Speaker 2 (01:26:14):
So but my whole point is, yes, they set you up.
There's all kinds of stuff that you could learn. Talk
to people, you can talk to financial consultants. So look
at Jack. He bought all those you know, uh fat burgers,
and I mean he's just become a global entrepreneur. So, yes,
(01:26:34):
there's a lot of stuff you could learn and do.
Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
But where where did it come from? He's he's claiming
the system in which you get fined is not setting
up players to accumulate retirement wealth. So then stop getting fined,
and it's not that hard. Stop breaking the rules.
Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
I mean it is.
Speaker 3 (01:26:54):
Well, even if you feel I don't agree with him,
but let's say you feel that way, stop doing stupid
stuff so you don't get fine.
Speaker 2 (01:27:02):
Well, Also they also say that what sixty percent of
NBA players after four years are financially broke or bankrupt
or something to that effect, some some crazy stuff like that,
Chris Well.
Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
And and here's here's the funny part of it is
he says that, and he's a guy. Good for him
because it's never gonna be an issue for him because
Draymond's made generational wealth as a player. He's gonna make
great money as a media guy because y'all love him.
I can't take it, but that's fine. I can't take
Skip Bayless. Arnie loves him but watches him non stop.
(01:27:35):
I right, stand it, right, but to each their own.
So kudos to him for standing up and saying something.
But then in that same vein, I don't really know
if he's making the point the right way.
Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
What do you do?
Speaker 1 (01:27:49):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (01:27:50):
And my last thing is, especially somebody like him, he
went to Michigan State for four years, right, right? Well
did they not teach it? He financing four years at
Michigan State. These these kids are in most of them
go to college for a year or two, so you
are learning about something. It's not like I'm teaching you
how to balance a check book. Like some of the
kids in high school nowadays don't even know how to
(01:28:12):
balance a check book. You're learning finances and accounting and
stuff like that, so you should, you know, learn a
little bit about stuff like that, how to manage money.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
The job is not set up the way we're taxed,
the way we're fined. If I do something wrong, I
lose one hundred thousand dollars. It took my mom four
years to make that when I was growing.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
Up apples and oranges there that that's not even Yeah,
does no.
Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
One stop in the middle of this? And I don't
know where this happened. I don't know if it Oh
he's on Shacks podcast. I don't know if Shaq might
stop and say stop getting fined? All right, I need
a shack impersonation.
Speaker 1 (01:28:49):
They'll do it.
Speaker 3 (01:28:49):
I don't just stop it. You quit being a moron,
and you're gonna be okay.
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
By the way, let's say he's fine one hundred thousand dollars.
Is that the number he threw out there? Is that? Yes? Okay,
that really is one hundred thousand dollars? Coming out of
his pocket that money. Fines are given to charities, right,
They're given to certain charities, So you could write that off.
(01:29:14):
So out of one hundred thousand dollars that he's actually
having to give, he'll write a significant portion of that
off for a tax right off. So it's not like
he's losing the whole hundred thousand dollars. Chris, I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:29:26):
I don't care. I mean like I don't. I don't,
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
I know, but just so you put it, just so
you put everything in pursuit.
Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
No, not your your perspective is great.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
I mean, and bringing up what was his name, Johnny
hann or hand or whatever, and the great success he had,
who had Junior Bridgeman.
Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
Junior Bridgeman.
Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
That was close Johnny hann Orhan Junior Bridgman to twenty
two twenty one. But it's an incredible story. It's just
when you're complaining about the fine process being an issue,
don't get fine. I just I feel like that's a
simple way to put it. And you're making incredible amount
of money playing a kid's game. Whenever you come crying
(01:30:06):
us about oh, they're not setting us up for generational wealth.
Speaker 1 (01:30:09):
Oh okay, what are you doing with your money?
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Yeah? What?
Speaker 5 (01:30:13):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
What investments are you making? You know, how much are
you losing? You? Who's who's you know giving you advice?
You're you're doing something wrong, don't do you know as
people like shaq As, people like Junior Bridgeman, Vinnie Johnson,
people like that that have had successful businesses instead of
(01:30:34):
just you know, spitting away your money on all kinds
of stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
All right, while we're at this on under the Radar
NBA topics, let's go ahead and hit eighteen and nineteen. Yes, well, yes,
I guess I have to start accepting that JJ Reddick's
gonna be the next head coach the.
Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
Way he's the front runner now. So I mean, it
was just a matter time because they're like, well, you know,
there's other people that consider And did I read that
right that they would even consider rehigh Darvin hammert what boy?
Remember I think I said that to you. I was
laughing at that. But JJ Redick now the front runner
and Oaks like he'll probably get the job. I don't
(01:31:10):
know exactly what's taking so long. I like that lebron
Is has no saying the matter, doesn't want to be
involved in the decision except for the fact that his
podcast partner is the one that's going to be hired
for the job. We'll see how he gets a double
see and by the way, does he get to keep
doing his podcast.
Speaker 1 (01:31:28):
During the season or what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:31:29):
Listen, we got a guy doing a radio show that
is a d one head basketball kick.
Speaker 1 (01:31:33):
Yes, so, I guess I can't question.
Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
Anything as far as the amount of time it takes
to do anything anymore. I'm a slacker if I don't
do another show, I guess.
Speaker 2 (01:31:41):
Now. Yeah, but could JJ Reddick actually say what he
wants to say? Is being head coach of the Lakers
compared to what he's saying, now.
Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
What do you think would change? I don't think he
can talk about other players too much, right? And that
a big no no when you're a coach and talking
about other players right right?
Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
Exactly?
Speaker 3 (01:31:59):
Well, that's a good quotes. Actually, I didn't even think
about that, but I does it not sound odd? I'm
sure JJ Reddick is a fine basketball X.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
And NO guy. And I'm sure where else is he
coached before?
Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
No one?
Speaker 1 (01:32:13):
Oh yeah, that's absolutely nowhere.
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
I'm sure that sets you up for greatness to be
the head coach of one of the ultimate franchises, not
just in the NBA but in sports. It's the freaking Lakers.
We have hired now in succession. Dudes, they got fired
by the Magic a guy that had never been a
head coach before, and now a guy that's never even
(01:32:37):
coached anything before.
Speaker 2 (01:32:38):
But oh he's got a podcast, right. And the reason
I asked you why has it taken so long? Here's
the reason it's taken so long because I actually sent
you this before the show. Rumors about Lebron going to
Philadelphia the Phoenix Suns because Phoenix is actually talking about
drafting Bronni So is len would Lebron say, you know what,
(01:32:58):
let's my off and Bronny go to Phoenix and forget
the Lakers and move on, and then the Lakers maybe
don't hire JJ Reddick at that point.
Speaker 3 (01:33:06):
This is according to uh, I'm sorry, make sure we
get this Roman numeral number nineteen nineteen. Yes, I can
cross fourteen, sixteen eighteen and now nineteen off. The Sixers
have their eyes on Lebron James and New York Knicks
(01:33:27):
forward og Anenobi. According to Philly insider Dan Pompeii, our
Keith Pompey, excuse me, He reported that James could be
one of the players the team looks to snag just
weeks from now. The Sixers also have looked to add
other players in the past, maybe even Paul George.
Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
But I mean, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:33:48):
It's more likely that lebron would go if you left
the Lakers. He's I think he's more likely to go
to Phoenix than any other team. Really, well, because they
could draft Bronny. What a twenty three? Is that? What
it is?
Speaker 1 (01:34:00):
Or I mean, is Ronnie gonna get drafted.
Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
I used to say there's no way that he's gonna
have to sign a free agent deal, but I'm he
may get drafted in the first round. What was that stat?
Thirty seven percent of bets coming in are betting that
Bronnie goes as the number one pick in the NBA draft.
Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
Well, thirty seven percent of people are just wiping their
backside with money if that's what they're doing, right.
Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
Oh, they got I guess they got money to go
ahead and flush down the toilet, because that's that's exactly
what they're doing. They're betting that Bronnie is the number
one pick. That I don't know what kind of odds
they get or what kind of thing that they're guessing
is going to happen. But he's not going to be
the number one pick. I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
I mean, what what are we even doing right now?
I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in
my life. I think some of these things are fake.
I think some of these because I'm telling you, Harnie,
no one in their right mind could bet.
Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
That actually that is a true thing. Actually also, not
only did I bring it up hurt Brian?
Speaker 3 (01:34:58):
No bringing up No, no, no, no, I'm not saying
that you guys didn't see it. I'm just saying, who
are you getting it from? Where'd you see it?
Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
It was one of the gambling uh hotels? Okay put
it out.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
If they should have looked at that bat and said, sir,
you're you're out of here.
Speaker 1 (01:35:15):
God, we're not taking your money.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
It's not just one per it's thirty seven percent of
the money coming in to.
Speaker 1 (01:35:22):
Again, are you do you not read that and say
that's domb that's insane.
Speaker 2 (01:35:28):
I keep thinking that I'm missing out on something, is
what I'm thinking. No, you're not missing out on anything.
Speaker 3 (01:35:33):
This is me, what are you telling me that the
Sixers are going to trade up to number one they
try to draft uh Bronnie so they can go get
Lebron James.
Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
Is Lebron James worth the number one pick overall? And
also one of the odds on Bronnie being the number
one pick? Is it like one hundred to one, one
thousand to one, And that's what we're missing out on.
Speaker 1 (01:35:51):
I'm not going to happen.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
But I mean, thirty seven percent of the people betting
disagree with you.
Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Well, they obviously have money to burn. Yeah, I guess
you know how you like to say. I promise you
that this team is gonna beat this team. Well, you
promised me that the Knicks were going to beat the Pacers.
You promised me Arizona was gonna win the national championship
in basketball. You made all these promises that you didn't find.
I promise you right now, Bronnie James is not going
(01:36:21):
number one in the draft, and if he does, you
can cut my pinky off. Okay, we can do it
live on the show. We get a video here, we
get a butcher knife, and I'll let you cut my pink.
Speaker 2 (01:36:32):
I will definitely.
Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
I'm down.
Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
You can do, I get you guaranteed, I'll let you
cut my pinky. I'm not quitting my job, but you can.
I don't need this digit. Cut my pinky off, and
I'm good to go because take the left hand. Okay,
but it's the dumbest thing ever. Now the true point
of this, though, that's interesting, Arnie. Does this mean Lebron's
declining his player option? Does this mean he's gonna hit
(01:36:57):
the open market? And if he does, does that audiomatically mean?
I mean, where do the Lakers go from there? You
brought it up? Is it no longer worrying about JJ
Reddick being your head coach?
Speaker 2 (01:37:08):
Well, don't they have to make that decision before Lebron
makes a decision on where he wants to go?
Speaker 1 (01:37:12):
Or No?
Speaker 3 (01:37:13):
I mean it's I mean that decision is potentially something
he can let them know about.
Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:37:19):
Hey, guess what, I'm not going to opt in. I'm
gonna decline my player option. I'm gonna go be a
free agent or rework my deal and stay with the Lakers.
But then, I mean, can Los Angeles continue to pander
to Lebron in every single move that they make this offseason?
Speaker 4 (01:37:36):
You?
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
No, you can't. But again, what do the Lakers have
in return? They only have Anthony Davis. If Lebron left,
how long is it going to take for Anthony Davis
to say, you know what, maybe I don't want to
be here either, and then they're not gonna have any superstars.
They might not have a choice. This whole thing kind
of does suck, though, where you're kind of doing nepotism
and you're saying, if you want Lebron, you got to
go ahead and take his son, because we all know
(01:37:59):
he's not NBA ready and whether he's NBA material at all,
but he's just you know, being pushed along because he's
Lebron's son, and there's a lot of guys out there
that would die for the opportunity that Brodny's going to
be getting.
Speaker 3 (01:38:13):
Right now, when we come back to the tyrack dot
com studios, let's hit some of these tweets. They're really
good tonight, including the latest on Laker fans thoughts.
Speaker 1 (01:38:22):
I Lebron won a title. You guys can.
Speaker 3 (01:38:25):
Dump on it all you want, but he and Anthony
Davis won a title. The Lakers have a couple first
round picks that they picked. Are these guys that are
just not ever going to develop. Can I not believe
there might be a Shay Gil just Alexander in this grave?
I mean he's Wishay was the sixteenth pick in the
first round and didn't really have a breakout until his
fourth or fifth season, Right, So did they get a
guy like that?
Speaker 1 (01:38:45):
I'm thinking no?
Speaker 3 (01:38:47):
And if it is just going to be Anthony Davis,
we'll just Donovan Mitchell become a likely spy guy like
artist Trey Young become a likely guy. Or does lebron
just need every single person to be on his team
in order to feel good about it chance to win
a title? Like he's gonna be a situation where he's
going to Phoenix and then Bronny's gonna be there and
Donovan Mitchell's gonna be there, never going to be there.
Speaker 2 (01:39:07):
He's not leaving Cleveland. Donovan Mitchell is not gonna leave Cleveland.
He's gonna end up staying there, you think, so, Yeah?
I do. I don't think he's going anywhere really. Yeah.
I used to think that he was for sure going
to be gone. Did a one to eighty on that.
I think he's gonna end up staying in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (01:39:21):
And when we come back to the tyrack dot Com studios,
we'll debate that next on Fox Sports Radio. Ah, We're
coming to you live from the ti rack dot Com studios,
tire rack dot Com. The way tied buying should be
a lot of good tweets. You ready to roll through
some of them?
Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
Let's do it. Let's do it started early.
Speaker 3 (01:39:41):
Of course, Arnie puts out the same tweet for every
single show.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
Yes, of course.
Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Have you ever thought about mixing it up a little bit?
Speaker 2 (01:39:48):
Never? Twelve years it's been working. Why goodn't change it?
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
You know, it's been twelve years.
Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
It's been twelve years.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
Wow, here's a few of them, Paul Wrights. The funniest
thing Kyrie ever did was skipping a home game while
he played for the Nets so he could go to
a political fundraiser. Oh and remember he showed up on
the zoom like all of a sudden, like where's Gyrine?
Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
He shows up meeting in his zooms.
Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
I remember that. I remember that?
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
Yes, absolutely, Chris writes Arnie, what roman numeral is the
incredible catch by Jada Coleman? Did you not include the
Sooner softball team and your Roman numerals?
Speaker 1 (01:40:24):
Tonight?
Speaker 2 (01:40:24):
I had, well, I have number nine as NCAA softball
and okaham advances. I did get that.
Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Though. Next week next week Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
should be fun JJ ball, right, someone say NBA playoffs
and then added a gift of law and order because
that's what Arnie usually ends up watching instead of the
NBA Playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
No, this time, I mean, look, we got we have
two interesting teams in the finals as long as his
Boston and Dallas by the way, so if they both
win the next game, win, So we got one Monday,
one Tuesday. So that's the twenty eighth. So you tell
me from the twenty eighth to the sixth, we won't
have a game the sixth, so three so nine days yep, geez,
(01:41:14):
take a vacation?
Speaker 1 (01:41:15):
Should they should? They could?
Speaker 3 (01:41:18):
I wish they could move it up, but they won't
because it's in the plans and the TV.
Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
Networks are already fair and that's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:41:25):
But I feel like every other sport you have that
flexibility where you got to, if hey, we're done, can
we move up and keep playing? Because what would you say,
that's nine days off? That's an eternity. Uh, here's one
bak rites. What are the Pacers, Wolves and Arnie's predictions
(01:41:46):
have in common?
Speaker 1 (01:41:46):
Fellas? What do they Arnie?
Speaker 2 (01:41:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:41:51):
Done over terrible, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:41:54):
I don't think the Wolves and the Pacers have necessarily
been terrible in their games.
Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
Anthony Edwards has been not so great.
Speaker 3 (01:42:02):
Third quarter Anthony Edwards was awesome tonight, Cat's Carlyon Anthony
Towns has been terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
That's how a Burton in Game three? How is he?
Speaker 1 (01:42:10):
Well, he wasn't very He wasn't very good in Game
one in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
Yeah, and he got hurt so he didn't play. But
I wonder if why did he wear that Richard? If
he wore the shirt, nobody cares about the shirt already.
I gotta let it go, No, gotta let it go. Now,
you're like a psycho X stalking a girl. It's not
that big of a deal. It bothered the hell out
of me, it did. Why did because of that? The Reggie?
(01:42:38):
Because we didn't choke, we had injuries. Who's the oose?
He didn say that we choked, We just had If
we didn't have injuries, we would have swept them.
Speaker 3 (01:42:47):
Again, I don't think it was an indication that this
Knicks team choked.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
I think it was a hat tip to one of
the greatest.
Speaker 3 (01:42:56):
Moments in this I guess you could call it rivalry
between the Pacers and.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
The Boney Maloney.
Speaker 3 (01:43:02):
You think it's you think it's his way of saying
the Knicks show. It's exactly what it is. Otherwise he
would have worn it earlier.
Speaker 1 (01:43:08):
No, they won.
Speaker 3 (01:43:10):
That's why he wore it, and he's It's a big
moment for the Pacers and that was probably the biggest
moment in their franchise history.
Speaker 2 (01:43:19):
Before that, Well, they went to the finals against the
Lakers and how did that go? Well?
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
They lost, right, So that was probably the biggest moment
in that franchise is history because it led to that. Now,
you got to let that go. Man, it's not that
big of a deal. And you've got you've had it
on every run. How many other shows are you doing tomorrow?
Are you gonna bring it up on the shows you're
doing tomorrow?
Speaker 2 (01:43:42):
I'm not filling in tomorrow. I'm not. I got the
day off.
Speaker 1 (01:43:45):
Yeah, triple one up right? How will the NBA recover
from the clerk?
Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
The w NBA has the greatest basketball star in a
generation and things are getting all w W. E is
it okay if I don't have like a hot take
on the WNBA or Caitlin Clark and it's just, hey,
I like watching her play. I'll watch the highlights, but
I'm not suddenly feeling like we need to lead with
(01:44:15):
the WNBA or talk NonStop about Caitlin Clark. I just
I think it's a fascinating boost to the league, and
I kind of feel like that's that's where it stops
for me.
Speaker 2 (01:44:26):
The Sparks Drew More broke a record for attendance at
Staples that was higher than the Lakers, So I'm not
sure why that was, because I mean, you feel like
if they're both sellouts, then it would be the same amount.
So I'm not really sure there, but it is good
to see the attendants just soaring what bothers me? Chris,
(01:44:49):
and you hear it all over the place, all the
hatred for Caitlyn Clark, and then you see the people
in the view say it's because she's white or shit,
that nothing to do with it, and it's it's it's
it's ridiculous. I've never seen a person or people want
to hate on her when she's bringing so much to
your sport or so much in ticket sales, and let's
(01:45:11):
be honest, it's directly there. You think that it doesn't
make a difference, Let's see how many Iowa basketball is
going to draw this year. The coach even quit, right, Sure,
she quit, she was tired. No, she quit, but she
saw the riding on the wall is what she did.
Like she's saying, there for like thirty years, she would
have and let me tell you something, she would have
(01:45:31):
been there for thirty one and Caitlyn Clark been back.
I promise you that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:34):
Well maybe, but Caitlyn Clark moved on. She retired, her
number one assistant took over the job. Don't be saying
they quit. They retired. She earned that opportunity.
Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
She earned the opportunity. I just think she would have
been back in clarkpenback. But my whole point is she's
doing so much for the sport and I can't understand
the hatred and then it just did that. The play
against Angel Reese was just that was all. I'm surprised
they did something like that. I watched out a couple
of times. Well, they kicked the girl out of the game.
(01:46:05):
They kicked the woman out of the game, so I
mean they did do something about it, right, they did,
but she could have gotten seriously heard on either one
of those plays. They were back to back plays in
that situation, so that that was kind of surprising.
Speaker 3 (01:46:17):
Mister Nobody writes, I fear I've got the Arnie Spaniard disease,
you know, the one where he declares a team his
and said team falls apart. I recently started pulling for
the Dodgers, even bought a hat. They've lost five straight,
including getting swept by the awful Reds.
Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:46:39):
In fairness, mister Nobody, Arnie did say my Dodgers last
week too, so there is that that probably attitude as well.
But no, it's it's real. Hey, I didn't realize you
and Jason Smith are guilty of this. You guys might
be one and the same. You're both Knicks fans. Everything
you touch turns.
Speaker 1 (01:46:57):
To dog do.
Speaker 3 (01:46:58):
I mean, it's just it's kind of I feel Are
you sure you're not the same person.
Speaker 2 (01:47:03):
I'm pretty sure I'm better looking. That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:47:07):
We're company alive from the tyrack dot Com Studios. Tyrack
dot Com. The way tire buying should be and the
way sports should be reported is out of the mouth
of Steve Seger, who brings you the latest on what's trending,
what's going on.
Speaker 7 (01:47:19):
Steve, Good evening again, gentlemen. By the way, the seating
capacities are not exactly the same Downtown LA for that
first or for a Lakers for example. So it was
a huge crowd of nineteen thousand when she visited the
LA Sparks this past week, but when Michael Jordan visited
years ago against the Clippers with Washington, it was twenty
thousand because they probably included sweet seats.
Speaker 1 (01:47:40):
Back then and they don't now.
Speaker 7 (01:47:42):
But yeah, and also the seating around the court, the
exact configuration is a little bit different depending on the team.
And amazingly, well two things. First, LA Sparks are rematching
at Indiana on Tuesday night. That's a one in four
team against a one and sixteen. Amazingly, to me, tomorrow
is a holiday and there's not a single WNBA game
(01:48:04):
on the schedule and they're showing a repeat of the view.
You'd think that something could make it on TV. I
don't know, marketing, something like that could have been done,
But okay, in the NBA, there have never been two
four game to none sweeps in the Conference Final. We
have a chance at that. Early this week, Dallas is
up three games to none now after beating Minnesota again
(01:48:26):
one sixteen to one oh seven, and from the for
what It's worth department, you kind of reference this. Minnesota
has played them close. They've almost set a record for
as close as they've been and still being down three
to zero in a best of seven series. In NBA history,
They've only been outscored by thirteen points total in the
three games. The record is being outscored by twelve and
(01:48:47):
still down oh three in the series. So last year,
at this point of the Conference Final, each series was
three games to none. But we didn't wind up with
two sweeps. Again, that's never happened. We'll see game four.
Dallas hosts two Tuesday night. If there's a Game five,
it's at Minnesota Thursday. But tonight Dallas led Minnesota by
twelve points in the second quarter. Minnesota took the lead
(01:49:09):
late in the third. It was tied with under four
minutes to go at one oh four, and Dallas dominated
the final outs. It took over one sixteen to one
to OH seven the final and They got contributions from
seemingly everybody. There was the PJ. Washington three from the
corner with three and a half minutes left, Luca with
an incredible shot with about two minutes to go, Kyrie
(01:49:29):
with a great shot. With one minute to go. You
had the alley oop dunk with Gafford thirty seconds to go.
Luca don To finish with thirty three points and five steals,
Kyrie irving thirty three points. Anthony Edwards had twenty six
in the loss. He had nine rebounds, nine assists, five turnovers.
Karl Anthony Towns from three point range was oh of eight.
(01:49:50):
Minnesota is the team that won three times on the
road at Denver last round, including the huge comeback win
last Sunday night, and at Game seven. They're gonna need
a road win on Tuesday to s stay alive. The
Celtics lead the East Finals three games to none, with
Game four at Indiana on Monday night. Celtics are five
and zero on the road so far this postseason at
eleven and two overall. If there's a Game five, Boston
(01:50:12):
would host it on Wednesday. Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton
with his strain hamstring was out last game. He left
in the third quarter of the previous game. Halliburton missed
ten games in January with this same injury. In the
regular season, he led the league in assists. He averaged
twenty points and eleven assists per game. The Indiana franchise
is in the conference finals for the first time in
(01:50:33):
ten years. The franchise hadn't won any series in ten
years until the run this year. In the NHL's East Final,
the Rangers, top seed in the East, won in overtime
at Florida five to four. Quite notable because it's almost
a bit of history in the last twenty five years
of Rangers hockey. They won a playoff game when allowing
four goals. That hadn't happened for them since nineteen ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (01:50:55):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (01:50:56):
The Rangers had lost forty two straight playoff games when
allowing four goals or more until today. They were up
four to starting the third period, blew that lead and
still won in ot. Rangers had won the previous game
in overtime also, so this is the first time this
postseason that Florida has lost back to back games two
games to one. Rangers in the East Final with Game
four at Florida on Tuesday. Dallas tied the West Final
(01:51:19):
last night at a game apiece. Their Game three is
at Edmonton on Monday night. Oilers had taken the series
opener in doublet By the way, each team that's in
the last four in hockey right now is seeking its
first Stanley Cup title in at least twenty years, each
of them that's at NHL first. And by the way,
this offseason, we'd had coach hirings, but still without a
head coach in the NHL San Jose and Seattle. NASCAR's
(01:51:41):
Coca Cola six hundred on Fox TV from Charlotte did
not run all four hundred laps due to a storm
and the commidity after the lightning and storm, but they
called it after bat lap two fifty. Christopher Bell the winner.
Brad Keslowski second Joseph Neugarden won the Indy five hundred,
same as last year, and this after a four hour
rain delay at the start. Today, in UFL football on
(01:52:02):
Fox TV before the NASCAR race, Michigan now six and
two won its game at Houston twenty six twenty two
with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Houston's one in
seven DC won its game at Memphis thirty six, twenty one.
This was the next to last weekend of that league's
regular season. They already know who's in the conference finals
June eighth, It'll be Michigan at Birmingham. Saint Louis versus
(01:52:23):
San Antonio. Davis Riley won by five strokes at Colonial,
Scottie Scheffler tied for second place. Tennis is French Open
started today. Naomi Osaka won a first rounder in three sets,
her first victory there in three years. She could face
number one Vegas Fiantek next. The men's number one Novak
Djokovic this year has not won a tournament. Rafael Nadal
(01:52:44):
is in the French. His first round match will be
against the number four seed, Alexander Zverev. Nadal turns thirty
eight next month. It could be his final French Open.
Big injury in Major League Baseball for the Braves and
Ronald Decunya today.
Speaker 5 (01:52:59):
Now the reigning MVP Ronald Acuna Junior limps off gingerly
favoring that left let.
Speaker 7 (01:53:06):
Baallely sports today it is a complete tear of the
left knee torn ACL for Acunye. Atlanta won its game
at Pittsburgh for what It's worth eight to one and
the winning pitcher, Chris Sayle, eight and one. He had
eight strikeouts and seven innings, but Acuna was hurt on
the base pass. Detroit with a three run homer bottom
of the nines to beat Toronto and closer Jordan Romano
(01:53:27):
fourteen to eleven. Total of seven homers in that game.
The Dodgers have lost five straight. Cincinnati beat him four
to one. The Dodgers with runners in scoring position had
gone oh for their last twenty two till a ninth
inning RBI. Mets got three in the bottom of the
ninth to beat the Giants four to three. Mets into
five game losing streak. Cleveland has won nine in a row.
(01:53:48):
At beat the Angels five to four, and tonight at
Saint Louis a two and a half hour rain delay
at the start. Paul Goldschmidt two homers against the Cubs,
all four RBIs in a four to three win. Five
straight wins for the Cardinals. Sonny Gray got the victory
seven and two. The game ended at eleven twenty Central time,
and Friday nights game in Saint Louis was rained out.
That'll be made up in July. Back to you.
Speaker 3 (01:54:09):
Hey, Steve, have a great week man. Yeah, I can't
enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday. You have any big plans tomorrow?
Aren't you doing a cookout or anything good? Snow cooking out?
It's gonna no no snow.
Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
It's gonna rain here a little bit though, so it's
not gonna have the best weather. We've had great weather
for the last week or two. So we're just gonna chill,
relax and just kind of enjoy the day off. That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
No marathon viewing again tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (01:54:32):
You're done running anything like that. Just maybe I'll see
if I could get some pickup basketball. But that's about it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
You should have got it.
Speaker 3 (01:54:40):
I bet there's a tournament somewhere, Memorial Day pick up
hoops tournament.
Speaker 1 (01:54:45):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
Sure there was, Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 3 (01:54:47):
Looks like it's gonna be pretty good weather across the
country too, So enjoy remember the Why celebrate those who well,
when I say celebrate, remember those who paid ultimate sacrifice
for our freedoms. Today, I want to read one tweet
before we grab our final break and get is Big
Ben in tonight or is Bernie in form?
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
You know all the schedule? I scheduled the Big Ben
in tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:55:09):
Okay, Brendan writes, if JJ Reddick gets the Lakers job
because of Lebron, I will think to myself, quote, I
guess you don't need to be intelligent to run an
NBA franchise. As for Bronnie, I have no problem with
him being on the team as long as they don't
use a first round pick on him. I mean, I
(01:55:30):
have not seen him in the first round of any mock.
Drap zach Eny is at first rounds now, which blows
my mind, and I wow, I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:55:38):
I said, how could this guy not be a first
So you were right, that's that's kind of good to
see out there. As for Bronnie, if somebody takes him
in the first round, then they feel like they've got
a damn good chance of getting Lebron. So if that's
if that happens, it's going to be Phoenix, I believe,
and that that seems like to be the front runner
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:55:57):
When we come back to the tyrack dot Com student
Arnie's picks to take us home, will he pick the
Lacrosse National Championship game. We'll find out together next on
Fox Sports Radio Fun Show tonight from the tyrack dot
com studios. A reminder that as soon as we're done, Patrick,
(01:56:20):
our producer, puts the show up the podcast page so.
Speaker 1 (01:56:24):
You can listen to it all.
Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
However, you consume podcasts, search Fox Sports Radio and there
you'll find tonight's program. Leave a five star review, say
something nice about Arnie and make sure you download it
today at Fox Sports Radio. A great job by Mary
on the music and running the show, Steve on the
updates outstanding, and the millions and millions of editors behind
(01:56:47):
the scenes who brought us all the great sound for
tonight's program. You gotta go to a Memorial Day cookout?
Are you not doing that? You a hot dog burger? Guy?
Speaker 2 (01:56:57):
My wife phone let me eat hot dogs. So whatever
she decides to cook that's healthy, like she have like
grass fed beef type stuff, you know that type of stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:57:08):
Oh? Is she trying to make you eat healthy all
the time?
Speaker 5 (01:57:12):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:57:12):
Yeah, wife, Yeah, I don't like it at all because
I like to eat off the children's menu and she
likes to eat healthy with the salmon and all that stuff.
So all right, I won't eat salmon. I won't eat that.
Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
Well, there's only one more thing left to do, Arnie.
Speaker 1 (01:57:28):
Yes, your picks take it away, stinking yes, go.
Speaker 2 (01:57:31):
Give me a little music, put me in the mood.
Look you say my picks have not been so hot?
All right? I gave you the Pacers and seven, But
I did I know they'd have injuries. You can't put
that on me. You can't blip that. You can't put
that on me. Anyway. The Celtics finish it off, the
Pacers are done. It is oh v e r over.
(01:57:56):
Celtics get the sweep for nothing, and they'll wait for
the winner of Dallas Minnesota. Speaking of that game, I
don't care if Minnesota, if there's a team that can
go back from three nothing and be us. No, you're
not coming back from the three nothing. You're not even
gonna win Game four. Dallas is gonna put you away.
It is ove r in that series also, So we're
(01:58:18):
gonna have the Boston Celtics and the history and the
Dallas Mavericks.
Speaker 1 (01:58:24):
Two sweeps, two sweeps, but.
Speaker 2 (01:58:27):
I'm gonna pick Boston in seven.
Speaker 1 (01:58:30):
Well, I mean, why would you do that?
Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:58:31):
You have like nine days, you got plenty of time.
Speaker 2 (01:58:35):
Yeah, you're right. I was just kind of jumping the
gun there. I have taken the Rangers to get by
four to four to three, so we'll see how the
rest of that plays out. US for lacrosse, right, yes,
over Maryland take the Irish. But the Irish is right
number one anyway, so it's not like a going out
of the limbs. So give me Notre Dame over Maryland
(01:58:55):
and a shout out to my Arizona. Wilca's baseball team
are getting the hosting. We'll have the matchups tomorrow, so
I can't wait for the come out. You're gonna be
watching that the selection show?
Speaker 1 (01:59:07):
Oh absolutely? Oh you is my Sooners.
Speaker 2 (01:59:10):
Not only Sooners, yeah, not.
Speaker 3 (01:59:12):
Only hosting, but they're a top eight seeds, so they're
a national seeds. So that means the road to Omaha
goes through Norman.
Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:59:21):
Yeah. I think Arizona a fifteen seed probably uh in that.
So we'll see what happens. But it's some good teams there.
I'm looking forward to it. I've been I've been fighting.
I've been watching Arizona baseball now for like the last
twenty five games, so I'm ready to roll.
Speaker 3 (01:59:35):
I've been watching them for so long. I've been watching
for twenty games.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
No, just this year I met twenty five games.
Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
Twenty five games. Okay, well that's actually okay. Let's ye
have to see I's have the season. That's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:59:48):
Any other picks or is that it? That's it?
Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
There you got my picks. Do with them as you please,
no longer strictly for entertainment purposes only. So there you go,
well done, Yeah, well done, good about it. Yeah, there's
not much to pick anymore.
Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
No, there's not.
Speaker 3 (02:00:01):
I mean I always thought was Is the hot dog
eating contest a Memorial Day?
Speaker 1 (02:00:05):
Or is that Labor Day? I don't feel like I
get a lot of Joey chess.
Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
Fourth of July?
Speaker 1 (02:00:10):
Yeah? Fourth?
Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (02:00:10):
Is that Fourth of July?
Speaker 7 (02:00:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
Fourth and joy?
Speaker 3 (02:00:12):
All of them run together on me. As far as
maybe I'll go down there for the Fourth of Joly,
Maybe I'll, Maybe you will, maybe you will? Uh one more,
one more text. Julian gets the final word right. Lebron
James has completely wore out his name and his reputation
in Los Angeles and with the Lakers. It's over and
(02:00:33):
bless him wherever he goes. But as a former Laker fan,
I want him off the Lakers and his one probably
cannot play at the professional level.
Speaker 2 (02:00:45):
What does that mean As a former Laker fan, who
do you root for now? You know?
Speaker 3 (02:00:50):
Well, I mean I was a former Raiders fan for
like six months when Josh McDaniels was their head coach.
Speaker 1 (02:00:56):
But you can get brought back in pretty quick.
Speaker 3 (02:00:59):
It's like the hottest chick you've ever had or wanted,
right if she bat your eye at you, suddenly like
we're back, regardless of what happens.
Speaker 1 (02:01:09):
So well, Artie, enjoy the Memorial Day holiday.
Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
Enjoy your day off. Are you working tomorrow? No, you
got the day off?
Speaker 1 (02:01:15):
Runt?
Speaker 3 (02:01:15):
I got Well, I'm working, but I mean I'm always
working on That's the way we go whenever you have
two daughters that need everything and a wife that is
very needy. So y'all enjoy a little rest of relaxation.
We'll be back next to Sunday Night, Big Ben Mallories
next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
