Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, let's go, stinking jezz go big boy.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Let's congratulations to your Oklahoma Sooners. How about that? I
thought they would have won softball?
Speaker 4 (00:14):
Yeah, nobody thought after they went back to back to back.
Go ahead, and to do something that's never been done. Sorry,
hit my mic in the history of the sport, four
in a row. Pretty good week for the Oklahoma Sooners
and Arnie officially joining the SEC and approximately, let's see
what it is today to ninth thirty days has September
April June, so twenty two, twenty three days away from
(00:38):
joining the SEC. Things are looking up in Norman Way,
how was your week up in Vermont? Did you end
up taking the wife to the Savannah bananas at the
Way Park? No, we did.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
We went to Martha's vineyard or like five days and
very horty, toyy Chris.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
I don't know, just thought very much.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Yeah, man, not my type of place. There's three types
some people, the the rich, the uber rich, and then
the rest of everybody else is like us. It was
with just so much wealth and then in the yachts
and the guys wearing their blazers with the gold emblems
and the anchor on their on their blazer and I'm
(01:16):
wearing an Arizona T shirt with a with a Hawaiian straw.
Had to get I'm backing good? Yeah, yeah, so I did.
It was just, uh, it was crazy. You could see
how rich people.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I don't think I'm gonna be going back, but you
can see how rich people are out there. You know.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
Well, I'm pumped to be back. Thanks for giving me
the weekend off. You're welcoz You're welcome. Yeah, thanks to
Jason Martin for sitting in What way was Jason last
Sunday Night? Right?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (01:41):
I believe it was, Yes, it was.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
You've done a lot of radio Jason Martin recently, Yes,
I have.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
It's it's been it's been a whirld.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
When Torres, I've given him a couple of weeks off,
had to give you a week off. It's too much.
Now I'm gonna have to put my foot down the
rest of the summer.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
How about this. I'm gonna go with the Bill Parker ourselves,
the Bill Belichick theory for the rest of the summer. Yeah,
and through football and through the holidays. No days off.
Old Wow, Wow, I'm making that commitment. Listen, we need
one show a week, all right, it's it's screwed the
last few weeks. Hey, We're coming to you live tonight
from the tyrack dot com studios. Tyrack dot com will
(02:19):
help you get there on unmatched a selection, fast free shipping,
pre roadhazard protection in over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire
rack dot com the way tire buying should be. Now
we are your post game show to NBA Finals Game two,
which for a while look like we're going to get
ourselves a good game, and uh, for the most part
I thought it was. It was an okay game, but
(02:42):
Boston was too much in the second half. They win
one oh five ninety eight, drew Holiday twenty six points,
led the way eleven boards. Luca looked like Luca, Yeah,
the Celtics are still up two games to none.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
They are the series is OvR. I don't care that
they've played in Dallas. This one's over it. Uh, you know,
it's not like even the Celtics are playing that great
a basketball anyway. And Luca was keeping him in it
for a long long time. This NBA Finals as bored me.
That tears first game a blowout. This game, okay, yeah,
(03:18):
we had a good first half because Luca was going off.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
But you saw the Celtics pull away.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Maybe Dallas made a little bit of a run, but
they came up short, and yeah, well you'll see that block.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
That's good, the deciding block.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
It.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
You always felt like Boston was gonna win. I don't
see Dallas taking a sweep at home. Matter of fact,
they'll be lucky to get one game. This could be
over in a sweep, but I say it's three games
to one. They come back to Boston to win this
thing in five.
Speaker 4 (03:49):
So you're you're taking the Celtics in five right now?
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
I unfortunately, have had many of these opening segments where
you and I vehemently agree on something, right, we might
throw down and might get a little bit tense. I
can't argue with you right.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
Now, No, of course not.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
I can't. I want to. I want to find with
you and say stop it, but I really can't based
on what we've seen. And I found this interesting. I
was listening to Mark and Ee from right before us.
It's so interesting how a series I don't want to
say becomes so boring but yet you're you're watching these
two games and you hear everything about the star that
(04:28):
Jason Tatum is. Yeah, and he hasn't been the guy yet, right.
Drew Holliday had the great game tonight, Jylen Brown had
the great game in Game one. In fact, all the
way to the point to where they're even starting, Jason
Kidd is trying to cause problems between the Celtics. He
knows how to try to poke that kind of.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Poor attend poor attempting. It wasn't bad, it wasn't great,
It wasn't bad. I wouldn't say poor attempt. But it
didn't work because then Drew Holliday stepped up. But I
tell you something, man, I'm a I don't look at
that as a knock on Jason Tatum, and maybe that's
a me problem. I look at it more at a
pretty damn good roster that they put together in Boston
(05:08):
going forward. I mean, Brat Stevens has done an incredible
job putting this team in. Jason Tatum doesn't have to
be all world for them to go up to ZIP
in this series. I don't see it as a negative, Arnie,
I guess is what I'm trying to say about Tatum.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
No, it's not a negative. And he's already said that.
You know, they wouldn't be here without Jalen Brown, and
he's one hundred percent right, and they wouldn't be there
without Tatum. Also true, Holliday was a good addition to it.
That was the missing piece. Now they're two wins away
from winning an NBA championship, and make no mistake about it,
Dallas is in over their heads. There's nothing they could
(05:42):
really do. Boston has been like this all year. This
is why they were with the number one seed. Really
would have wished to see what the Knicks could have
done against the Boston in the Eastern Conference. And let's
let's be honest, Boston's had an easy road up till now,
so they're pretty much well rested compared to what Dallas
has had to go through.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
I'm trying to figure out, you know, if if we're
being knee jerky, do we need to pause for a
moment and say, let's do remember I know you just
dogged this, and I kind of agree with you. We
still haven't played a game in Dallas, and the Mavericks
have been pretty good at home. I think the problem
is Dallas hasn't fallen down to Zip in any of
their series, right, same thing. They looked terrible in Game
(06:25):
one against the Thunder, Arnie, if I remember right, think
it was even a Sunday night, I was already making
my plans for the Western Conference Finals for the Thunder.
That's how bad things were in Game one for Dallas
against Oklahoma City. But what did? What did they do?
They came back and they won Game two? Right, they've
looked terrible in the Oh gosh, what other serious goods? Oh,
(06:46):
they didn't look all that great in game what was
it two against the Clippers and then low and ball
are Game one they took, they lost Game one, they
take Game two. You know, it's just this. They don't
find themselves in a hole where they look this bad
and back to back games. So with all that disclaimer
and all that precursor, is there any chance getting back
(07:07):
to Dallas, getting a little bit of rest can galvanize
this team maybe get their uh the role players who
were the difference between everything in the Thunder series and
everything in the t Wolves here? I mean, is there
any chance at all that they could get rolling when
they get back home?
Speaker 5 (07:22):
What do you mean a little bit of rest.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
I mean there's only like the second game in like
two weeks that we've had a basketball I mean, it's
it's been such a long drought. Anyway, they're well rested.
This is this is about it here to make it, don't.
I tried to tell you that this is not going
to be a good NBA series. It's not going to
be a ratings winner or ratings bonanza. That there's really
no intrigue. Yes, you had stars on each side, but
(07:46):
Boston's a dominant team right here.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Celtic fans are loving it.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
They're loving it up here in the in the Northeast,
but you know, obviously in the West coast it's boring
them the tears out.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
There, but.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
In anything anything that could then, are you just not
gonna watch on Wednesday night?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Now?
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Is it? Is it that bad? Or he's now making
other plans to be around when this game's play.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
No, No, here's the idiot that you're talking like somebody
who's done with It's like, I no need to watch
this thing right now. If it wasn't your job, if
it wasn't your job to watch the NBA Finals, would
you make it a point to be near a TV
on Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, everyone else, you're gonna watch list it was a
good Olympics story going on. Of course, of course I'm
gonna watch it. But let's be honest, it's it's not
intriguing right now.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
It's it's not. It's not. And I mean, I don't
know if it's because there's so much about, you know,
wanting to have a more competitive series. I don't even
know if a more competitive series would have done much.
I don't know if we needed some sort of fight
between the Celtics and Kyrie. I mean, we even try
to generate something off a play in the first quarter
(08:57):
where he talked a little bit to Celtics fans in
the front row with Kyrie. I just n arn I
just feel like that all of the storylines that we
thought were going to be something that played out, they
just haven't materialized in this series. Song.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
No, you're right, there's there's been no intrigue, like I said,
no pushing, no shoving, no fighting. It's been it's just
been Boston domination. There's really no other way you could
put it to the better team. That's why they're gonna win.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Now, as we come to you Live from the tyrack
dot Com studios. It's kind of probably equal parts frustrating
and also somewhat impressive for Adam Silver that on the
day of Game one of the NBA Finals, the day
of Game one, Arnie, at like six in the morning
Central Time, the story breaks about Dan Hurley and the Lakers,
(09:45):
right and then right before Game two you get the
latest update after the meeting with the Lakers, what he
said to ESPN. And maybe part of this is that
you do have a pretty major coaching decision. Touch is
just about every major level of basketball, right college basketball,
in the NBA. Is that I mean? Is that taking
(10:06):
some of the shine off this because we're so interested
in what's gonna happen there one Christmas?
Speaker 5 (10:12):
Okay, this is like the third or fourth story in
the world of.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Sports, the NBA Finals, the.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
NBA Finals, Let's be honest. We want to know who
the new.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Laker coach is gonna be, what's going on with Dan Hurley,
what's going on with Caitlyn Clark. Then maybe oh, we'll
get it to the NBA Finals. There's a lot more
on our plate, though, what's going on there?
Speaker 4 (10:30):
If right, well, let me look, where's the let me
see if you stayed true to this, okay, because you
do the rundown for the show. Now you notice I
had to go to Twitter for help because I couldn't
tell what the hell you were talking about in Roman
numeral three. But I mean, even you do have Game
two as roman numeral number one, Arnie, So you even
say that, if this is truly big story number three
(10:51):
or four in the sports world, why did you have
it as Roman numeral one for said program here tonight?
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Well, because I filled in yesterday.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
We did so much can Clark, I had the start
with something new, and then that's why I won with
game number two.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
Do you think Bobby hurt Bobby Hearley? Do you think
Danny Hurley takes the Lakers job? No?
Speaker 5 (11:10):
I think he goes back to you, Kahn.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
I unless I'm reading this whole thing wrong, I think
he'll go ahead and go back. I think we would
have we would have had a slip or something right.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Now, I mean, what do you mean a slip? You know,
like a you know, like.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
A release or we would have had a release.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
But did you listen to woes before the game started.
Speaker 5 (11:34):
Not a release. We would have heard like a rumor
or something to that effect.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Okay, well, first of all, half the rumors you send
me are fakes, So I'm sure there's something out there
to make you happy. As far as that is controlled,
I'm sure there's a fake report, Arnie. Adrian wojes and
Rowski basically said, Hey, I talked to Dan Hurley's people.
He was impressed by the presentation. They made a compelling case.
But he's going to make a decision by tomorrow. I mean,
(11:59):
what what more of a leak could you possibly have
that this decision is pending? And how would that leads
you to believe that he's not going to the Lakers?
Speaker 5 (12:09):
Why you think that that?
Speaker 3 (12:12):
If there was any reason for him to go to
the Lakers, I think we would have heard it.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
I don't think he would have played Yukon like this.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
There's a hundred million reasons to go to the Lakers
right now?
Speaker 4 (12:23):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Oh no, no, I'd rather stay at you. There's more
reasons to stay at Yukon. Then they go to the
Lakers right now?
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Did you not? Just did you see the contract offer
their allegedly making him? Does the money not matter at
all to you?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
In this?
Speaker 3 (12:40):
That was that pretty much close to what you Connecticut
was going to Goha and pay him?
Speaker 7 (12:44):
Was it not?
Speaker 4 (12:44):
My ass? You kidding me? You can't. They would have
had the digital panhandling. They would have had to raise
money to come up with that in this short amount
of time. No, absolutely, is Hey, maybe that's why Torres
was out last night, Arnie. Maybe there was some sort
of fundraise or that was taking place to try to
get all the famous Yukon boosters and fans to a
(13:04):
pony up for Dan Hurley. And Okay, let me ask
you something. Let's just hypothetically say in this crazy world
that Ucon's able to come with financially and the Lakers come,
all right, we'll give you twenty mili more. I mean,
if it's about money, then there's no question where you
would end up right now. And that's generational wealth, my man.
(13:26):
I just and it's still the Lakers. It's still the
freaking Lakers, right or no?
Speaker 3 (13:32):
It's not as prestigious of a job as it used
to be, Chris, And can the Lakers really pay that
all that type of money?
Speaker 5 (13:39):
That's the question?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
Are you being serious right now? Can the Lakers pay
that type of money? Did I miss the report where
we're broke all the sun. It's the Lakers selling out
every single home game. Why are you worried about the
financial ramification? Is this thing on tonight? Are you doing
the show with me? Are you trolling me right now? No?
Speaker 3 (13:59):
I just don't think Genie is one of the richer
owners out of all the owners in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
It doesn't matter none of these nobody's out here's one
hundred million dollars. Just take it. I mean, they could
always have the money if they want. This isn't a
Mark Davis whenever he first moved to Vegas situation, Arntie.
It's the freaking Lakers, for goodness sakes.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
So you think he's gone, then you think he's done.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
I think it's a lot more of a decision than
some are leading on to believe. It's hard to leave
a job, or you've won back to back titles and
you seem like you have a pretty good foundation going forward,
but you're also going to a place where I don't know,
maybe it's his dream job. I have no idea. Maybe
he's a Lakers fan at hard and he's always wanted
(14:42):
to do this. I have no idea, But just this
dismissal that things would be so much better for him
at Yukon. I mean, hey, coulngratch on the college titles,
but someone tries to pony up money. You're remaking your
roster every single year in college and at the very
least in the pros. Some guys on multi year contracts
that can be around with your foundation. I don't know,
(15:04):
I I don't maybe part of the Laker fan and
me jumps out and says this whole idea that he's
in a better spot in in Yukon. I don't know
if I buy that unless that's where he wants to be.
That's where his wife is happy.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And that's and that's a big thing. Also, his wife
wants to be on the East coast. He's waiting for
the New York Knicks job. How long is Thibodeaux going
to be around the Knicks? Isn't a better job than
the Lakers. But that's what you guys done. Really, But
that's but that's what he wants. That's you know, that's
that's what he wants. That's where he's happy.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
He wants the state.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Okay, what did you talk to him?
Speaker 5 (15:37):
Oh? Come on, you've heard those rooms.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Now, I've never heard a rumor that he wants to
be the Knicks coach over the Lakers coach. Everyone this
right now is like, Oh, Yukon's the greatest thing and
he's ever done. I only hear the Knicks because his
wife wanted to be on the East Coast. It's like, oh,
the Knicks. If that's the job he really wants, how
the hell do ween know?
Speaker 3 (15:56):
So you think that going all the way to Lost
s Angeles is staying on the East coach? Do you
think that going to the Lakers and having to deal
with lebron and Bronny and all that Boloni's is the
better way to go right now? After what he's done at.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
Yukon, why not? Why not get your hunter mill go
out there, coach. I'm telling you what, right now, you
can learn to like different places, Arnie, just because you're
from a certain area. Where are you from? Where'd you
grow up?
Speaker 5 (16:26):
I grew up in the Bronx, New York right exactly?
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Do you have a problem Whenever you got paid to
go work in Phoenix or whenever you got paid to
go work in Vegas, did you say no, no, no,
I'm from the Bronx I'm gonna wait till I don't
know wfa In calls me before I take a big
time gig. Hell no, man, when you get that opportunity,
you gotta bite, you gotta go. And what's wrong with
the idea of being able to coach Lebron James Right,
(16:51):
go for it, man. Dan Hurley seems to me the
kind of guy that would welcome that type of opportunity.
I and ye he would get to run the show.
Speaker 7 (16:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I was surprised when I sent you the odds that
the odds on favorite.
Speaker 5 (17:04):
Is the Lakers.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
They have bat four hundred.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
That is insane. I never would have guessed there would
have been something like that.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
The odds give the Lakers currently an eighty percent chance
of hiring Danny Hurley. That's crabs.
Speaker 5 (17:17):
I don't know where they get that. That's insane.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
I'm kind of surprised how locked in you are on that.
You would think it's just a slam dunk that he's
staying at Yukon. Why would he go through all of
this and why would it be so public if it
was just a slam dunk that he was staying at you.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
I think he wanted to go and do his due diligence.
I think he wanted to hear what they wanted to say,
whether they wanted to offer.
Speaker 5 (17:39):
I just don't feel like it was the.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Right fit for him, and he was in such a
good situation at Yukon. I think his family would have
been happier on the East Coast. Like you said, I
just I just looked, now's a good time to go.
I don't know why he would have forced the situation.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
To be honest with you, Well, we got a lot
to go on that stack, and I don't know if
we'll get any conclusion. Hey, you talked about potential leaks,
right if there could be something out there, maybe we
find out During the show tonight. He said that he's
going to make his decision by Monday. This show rolls
over into Monday, so who knows, maybe we'll find out.
So we'll get you the latest on Dan Hurley and
(18:18):
the Lakers offer. Plus tonight, Boston takes Game one one
oh five ninety eight over the Dallas Mavericks. When we
come back, though, couple of interesting NFL notes making headlines
as well. Always find a way to talk pig skin

All right, it's already in Plank on Fox Sports Sunday,
coming to you live from the tiraq dot com studios,
Boston takes Game two one O five ninety eight over
the Mavericks. We are on Dan Hurley watch too to
see if he takes the Lakers job. With the stinking genius.
I'm Chris Plank Pump to be joined by Mark Medina
at Mark g Underscore Medina covers the NBA for us
(19:45):
here on Fox Sports Radio and you find them on
Twitter sports Ketia as well. Let's start first with the game. Mark,
should we go ahead and berry the Mavericks? You think
they got a chance to write this ship? What has
Boston done to make to have so much success against
the Map?
Speaker 7 (20:00):
Well? I think what Boston did in Game two is
show that it doesn't matter if Jayson Tatum is not
playing his best basketball, because number one, he's improved as
a playmaker, and number two, they just have such a
good team it's hard for Dallas to really counter, especially
the fact that Luka Daci is just playing out of
his mind and it doesn't really matter. Now. I do
(20:20):
think that they still have a win in them, especially
Game three. Typically win your backs against the wall and
you're playing at home, you tend to play your best basketball.
But I think big picture, the writings on the wall
that this seems like it's going to be a pretty
short series for Boston to win.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
And Boston hasn't even been playing that great at basketball
either yet they've been able to go ahead and dominate them,
especially what they did in game number one. This game
obviously a little bit closer, but they pulled away, got
in double digits.
Speaker 5 (20:48):
You never really thought the mass.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Were going to go ahead and win this game when
it was all said, and I'm sure they climbed back
in it a little bit, But without look at going
off like that, this game would have been a lot
worse than it was right now.
Speaker 7 (21:00):
Yeah, I mean, to your point, Jason Tatum shot only
six to twenty two from the field. The team itself,
Austin shot thirty nine from three point range, but it
didn't matter because it was the Luka Doncic show and
nothing else. I mean, Kyrie Irving had a quiet sixteen
points for all to talk about. You know, the Mavericks
(21:20):
supporting cast, for how much it's made a difference with
actually gaining them to the NBA Finals, they there weren't
really many game changers here, and so I think that
the low hanging fruit that Dallas can't address is have
more support for Luka Doncic. Have you know, guys like PJ.
Washington initiate the offense, Have someone like Kyrie Irving actually
(21:41):
show that he is that legitimate, you know, one a
one deep star this season. But I think to your point,
about Boston, they have so many reinforcements. Jason Tatum has
an off night, doesn't matter because Drew Holliday is an
ultimate two way player that can do everything on both
sides of the ball. Jalen Brown she's a great option too.
(22:04):
And you know, obviously Jason Kidd kind of inflamed things
in between games one and two and saying that Jalen
Brown is the best player on the team. So the
bottom line is Boston has so much more depth that
can give them assurance, insurance for them to overcome a
poor shooting knight from one of their star players, where
(22:24):
with Dallas not so much the case with Luca.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Well and speaking of Dallas, I saw a PJ. Washington
look like the best player in the NBA against the Thunder.
We've seen their supporting cast look solid. Is it just
a matter of the clock striking midnight? Is there anything
that Boston's doing to kind of make it tougher on
those guys?
Speaker 7 (22:43):
Well? I think that Number one. Yeah, Boston defense is
really good. They have a lot of good wing depth,
and I think the fact that they play small ball
with their centers really allows them to space the floor
well and disrupt things I think the other thing is
that when you're a road team, usually these role players
don't shoot as well from three, So I suspect PJ.
(23:05):
Washington's going to go better than a one to five
from the field. Same thing with Derek Jones Sheer with
his zero a three clip. I suspect that Kyrie Irving
will shoot a lot better from deep than he did
in Game two when he missed all three of his attempts.
But the bottom line is, I think that that's only
good enough for them to win Game three. But I
don't think this is sustainable moving forward. In surprising because
(23:26):
I thought that Dallas was playing its best basketball out
of it any team in the playoffs, and that it
could make a case to beat Boston at least keep
the series competitive. But clearly Boston has raised their game
to another level. It might let down a little bit
game three because they have the tendency to play with it, sued,
but I don't think it's going to make that much
of a difference other than Dallas avoiding a sweep altogether.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Mark, Let's get to this, because we were fighting about
this in the first segment. I said all things I
thought were pointing that Hurley was going to stay at
you on Chris is like why would he? I'm like,
why would you want to take that Laker job? In
the mess and said, what do you think is gonna happen?
What are you hearing right now?
Speaker 9 (24:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (24:11):
I wish I knew the answer to that, right And
if I did know the answer to how things would
play in the NBA, I'd be a lot richer in Vegas,
would be a lot poorer. Right. But the reason why
the House usually wins is the NBA is really unpredictable,
as with other sports. I can tell you this. The
Lakers had been optimistic that Dan Hurley would accept the job,
(24:32):
but you know the fact that he hasn't said yes
doesn't mean anything until he says yes. And I think
it could go one or two ways. Part of me
is on the well, I don't have any stake for it,
but if I'm the Lakers, part of me is uneasy
that he didn't accept after immediately giving them that sales pitch,
the fact that he went back east instead of staying
(24:53):
in Los Angeles and enjoying what makes this city great.
But I think at the other point, the fact that
he hasn't said no right away and has needed some
time to think that might give them some optimism, because
before all this, it seemed like the thought from him
was that he's going to say at Yukon, he has
a good thing going. He's won national championships for two
(25:15):
seasons in a row. But I know that he did
tell Adrian Woodjarowski today that he's going to make a
decision tomorrow. So we'll know in less than twenty four hours.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
Hey, Mark, just take me back to the genesis, because
the Lakers coaching search we talked about it last week
seemed to be pretty one sided. That it was all
JJ Reddick. When you heard this, were you surprised? Was
it out of nowhere? In your mind too? It did
you think maybe the Lakers had a little bit of
an ace up their sleep?
Speaker 7 (25:43):
Well, it was surprising only because it hadn't gotten out.
But what I circled back. The sense that I got
is that of two things. One, you know, their initial
talks with Dan early, it just didn't come out of nowhere.
I mean, they had prelimited discussions and they made their
interest known right from the very get go. So you
(26:04):
can kind of look at this as they had the
same kind of interest in Dan Hurley the same way
they did with Tylou. But ty Wu made it very
clear right off the bat he's not going anywhere. The
Clippers made it clear they're going to take care of
him and sign them to that extension that eventually happened.
But I think the other thing is that, in fairness
to the Lakers, contrary to what people around the league
(26:25):
have said, they always maintained that there wasn't a front
runner candidate, even though they talked with JJ Reddick and obviously,
you know, think highly of him and are intrigued. Their
messaging was never that's he's in the lead position. Their
messaging was always we're talking to a lot of different people,
a lot of different candidates from different experience levels. And
(26:48):
when we're talking to all these candidates, it's not just
about how they would be as a head coach. It
is about how they could potentially be as an assistant
coach or part of another candidate's coaching staff. So that
part makes sense. But look, the Lakers are always unpredictable,
They're always interesting, so I'm always anticipating some curveball one
(27:08):
way or another.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
Yeah, great stuff, thanks Mark, Awesome As always, buddy, keep
up the great work. Make sure you follow them on
Twitter at Margie Underscore Medina. We'll talk to again soon.
Right back, my friends, All I see you, buddy. Here
he comes rolling into the track dot Com studios. Great
information from Mark, but all kinds of insights from Steve
de Sager, who has what's trending? What's going on?
Speaker 10 (27:28):
Steve, Hello, and welcome back. It is two games to
none Boston over Dallas in the NBA Finals after tonight's
one oh five ninety eight victory. You know, Mark would
remember this as you're talking about the Lakers trying to
get a coach who's won back to back titles and
they're ready to pay a boat load. Twenty years ago,
the Lakers needed to replace Phil Jackson and they hired
(27:49):
a coach she would won back to back NBA titles
and paid him a boat load and it was Rudy
tom Janovich and he lasted half a season.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
Yeah, yeah, it didn't work out.
Speaker 10 (27:59):
Never talk defense during training camp was twenty four and
nineteen step down during the Lakers season, still in his
fifties by the way at the time, and just said
the wear and tear of doing this business is the
reason I'm stepping aside I bring Rudy T's name up
also because he won an award tonight and he was
(28:19):
in tears when told by the Coaches Association that he
was the winner of the Chuck Daily Lifetime Achievement Award,
not being aware that he was even up for such
a thing. The Coaches Association gives this out to those
who quote set a standard for integrity, competitive excellence, and
tireless promotion of NBA basketball. Rudy T is this year's
(28:40):
winner of it. As for the NBA Finals MVP for
this year's series, the show right before you was saying
who would win it for Boston because nobody's really standing out?
Maybe Jalen Brown, who had seven assists six turnovers tonight,
which immediately made me think, is this the year that
somebody gets vote votes for Finals MVP from the losing side?
(29:04):
Because Luka Doncic going into the Finals was averaging this postseason,
averaging twenty nine points, ten rebounds, and nine a sides. Wow,
And he did something very rare for a Finals game
in the last fifty years tonight he had a thirty
point triple double and did not win the game, just
over fifty years ago, a man named Jerry West did
(29:25):
the same, losing a close Game seven of the Finals
to the Celtics, and Jerry West was named Finals MVP,
the only one ever on the losing team in NBA history,
So just putting that out there. Game three will be
in Dallas on Wednesday night. Game four in Dallas on Friday.
Celtics lead two games to none. Jason Tatum was six
(29:48):
of twenty two shooting from the floor tonight from three
point range one of seven WNBA. The late game in
La went to the Sparks over Las Vegas ninety six
ninety two Stanley Cup Game two is tomorrow night. NASCAR
victory at Sonoma for Kyle Larson, who's from northern California.
It's his third victory this year, but in golf, a
fifth victory this season already for Scotti Scheffler. He wins
(30:11):
the Memorial, he earns the four million dollars as the
winner of this signature event. He has already broken the
money record he set last year. In other words, in
half a season, he's already made as much money as
he made for the full golf season last year. He's
over twenty four million earned on the sward.
Speaker 5 (30:30):
Could it be a golfer? Is it not?
Speaker 4 (30:32):
Or what year? Yeah?
Speaker 10 (30:33):
Just don't get pulled over. Carlos al Karez won the
French Open in five sets. College baseball number three ranked
Texas A and M has just eliminated Oregon fifteen to nine,
Florida in thirteen innings, eliminated Clemson eleven to ten. Number
one Tennessee eliminated Evansville tonight twelve to one. So when
the College World Series, we know it'll be Tennessee against
(30:53):
Florida State, Virginia against UNC. Things are coming into focus now.
Tight End Darren Waller did tell the Giants he is
retiring at the UFL Football Conference Finals San Antonio with
the upset win at Saint Louis twenty five to fifteen. Baseball,
What a weekend At Yankee Stadium, New York beat the
Dodgers tonight six to four, Aaron Judge with his twenty
(31:14):
fourth homer. He had three hits, and the Mets were
in London with Saturday and Sunday games at a converted
soccer stadium fifty five thousand in attendance. Today looked like
the Phillies were gonna win again and the Mets scored
three in the top of the ninth. They were holding
onto the lead six to five over Philly bottom of
the ninth. This is how it ended on a home
(31:35):
to first double play. This is the British MLB broadcaster
on apparently it's called TNT.
Speaker 5 (31:42):
Sports Castano's Botts explodes how.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
They're gonna get the runner at home, They're.
Speaker 5 (31:46):
Gonna get the double plaint to win the game.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
End shuts it bet the runner outs at home plaints
and the.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Bull fighting to mc cloud at the.
Speaker 8 (31:56):
First basement pizza monsou the New York somehow we've stunned
the Phillies and they went.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Game two in London six five. That's right night, that's
right back to you, dude. I uh, I watched a
lot of that game this morning. It's like a breakfast
in baseball. I wasn't complaining about seven am Pacific time start,
even it was only an hour after Wimbledon. That's how
(32:23):
early it was.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
I still I still don't.
Speaker 10 (32:29):
Know a French Open, I should say, but Wimbledon also
starts at six am Pacific.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Yeah, I guess I'm so confused. Why baseball is trying
to force a London series on everyone. I guess the
crowd was pretty good, so maybe this is a meeting.
Speaker 10 (32:41):
A lot of Philly fans, but huge crowds.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
And then and then number two, that was the heck
of a plate in the game. I mean the call
did it justice? Bases loaded? They just had a bases
loaded walk? Bring dude out of the pen. He threw
five pitches and walked the guy, and then the bat
just disintegrated. When ever on contact splinters flying? Whoa.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
By the way, did you just see that jacket too,
where it was like half Phillies half Mets. We talked
about this yesterday discussing what there's a jacket that was
half Phillies half Mets.
Speaker 10 (33:17):
It's for the London residents. Who's not a fan of anybody?
Speaker 4 (33:20):
So let me get this right. You watched a baseball
game between the Phillies and the Mets and allowed one
fans jacket to make you mad the.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
Whole Well, that's what they were, that's what they were selling.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Oh okay, okay, all right, I'm sorry.
Speaker 10 (33:33):
Also, at Yankee Stadium this weekend, there was a hat
with Judge ninety nine and Otani seventeen on the front
of the hat.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
I don't know that. That's my Christmas gift for Arnie.
That's why I'm gonna go. I'm gonna order that and
send it to all Right, thanks Steve. All Right, when
we come back to the track, dot Com studios a
lot of good tweets, getting a ton of them to
start the show at Stinkingenius one. I'm at Plank show.
I don't I don't know we're going to learn anything
on Hurly tonight, Arnie. I know he said Monday, and
Mark Willard cracked me up. He goes, well that's in
(34:05):
two hours. I'm like, you know what, He's right, But
I just I have a feeling this will be one
of those things where he's gonna let his team know
before anything happens. It wouldn't surprise me at all if,
in fact, I don't know, if I was in his shoes,
if I would ever leave you, Kunn, I would probably
stay there the rest of my life. But again, I
don't I don't know. I don't know what he wants.
(34:27):
I don't know what his desires are. I know one
hundred million dollars would really speak to me. And if
you tell everyone's like, well, that's what Kentucky would offer. Yeah,
I would never want to be the head coach of
Kentucky basketball. It's freaking nightmare. You people are crazy and
I love you, but I'd rather drink beers and watch
the game with you than be the coach of your team. Right,
I'm okay with staying somewhere else. So I don't know
(34:47):
that we're going to find out anything tonight, Arnie. I
think he's going to try to be smooth and let
his team know first.
Speaker 3 (34:52):
I agree with the one hundred percent we won't get
any rumors tonight. There'll be some stuff coming out tomorrow
morning early, but he'll want to talk to the team first,
no doubt about that.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
All right, when we come back your text and then
I got that football tease to pay off involving a
big time retirement and maybe another move still to be made.
We'll dive into it right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
(35:23):
listen live. All right, it's Alreadie in Plank on Fox
Sports Sunday. We come to you live from the tyrack
dot com studios, and don't forget about the podcast. Patrick
does a solid job getting it up as soon as
the show is over. So if you miss any of
the program tonight, or maybe you want to hear more
about what Mark has to say, I had to say,
I should say on the NBA, and what Todd Furman
(35:46):
will say when it comes to the gambling side of things,
all you have to do is search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcast, be sure to follow, rate
and review the podcast. Leave a five star review, say
something nice about Arnie. Search Fox Sports wherever you get
your podcast, and you'll see this show right after we
get off the air.
Speaker 5 (36:04):
You want to read some tweets, yes, let's do it.
We're getting a lot tonight, so let's get at it.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
UCLA Dodger Frank and I think our kindred spirits here,
he writes. Maybe it's because of my bias. I mean,
the Dodgers are in my handle, But I was way
more invested in Dodgers, Yankees, Yankees this weekend and even
the College World Series than I was, say, the NBA Finals.
I think I watched five minutes total of the NBA
Finals Between the two games.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Did I not say it was the fourth story, and
absolutely right. I mean people were more intrigued about Caitlin Clark,
what about the women's team, you know, what about the
and there was some great baseball games in the NCAA,
so more people were invested in Yankees Dodgers also. Then, yeah,
(36:52):
the NBA Finals took a backseat, no doubt about that.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
I'm just saying that's not what you said in your
rundown though.
Speaker 5 (36:58):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
I mean you're telling me that it's like three or
four and you've got it right there, Roman numeral number one.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
No particular order. I always tell you that what.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
You're supposed to play the hits first, right, isn't that
what we were always taught playing the hits? Playing over
and over.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
No particular order on that one.
Speaker 4 (37:19):
So then why do you even use Roman numerals at all?
Speaker 5 (37:23):
It keeps things organized?
Speaker 4 (37:26):
Uh, Mateo, this just hit rights. I keep hearing quote
unquote how often does the Lakers job become available? They've
had seven coaches at thirteen years, it's available often. Who
says that, By the way, where does that come from?
Because I would like to push back against that too.
Back to Mateo's text, Hurtley should go for a three
(37:47):
peat and wait until the next guy's fired in two years.
Like every other Lakers coach over the past decade, I
feel like they've been searching, not for their next Phil
Jackson Arnie, I feel like they've been looking for their
next pat Riley. Right. They're trying to find a younger guy.
And I guess you could relative, you know, Danny Hurley's
fairly young, but I don't know. I mean it just
(38:08):
I feel like they're trying to find the next pat Riley.
They're trying to find the guy that's gonna bring a
little sizzle. Definitely was not Darvin ham right, was not
Luke Walton. So maybe they realized, hey, let's try to
go make a splash year. That's I was shocked to
see that he was mentioned, because I don't know about you.
I never watched Danny Hurley and thought, ooh, that's an
NBA coach, because I felt like he was a little
(38:30):
bit too loud, you know, and maybe a little bit
more confrontational than what you see in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
More and more of a college R related type coach
at an NBA coach, because that raw, raw, hard practice
stuff doesn't really cut it in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (38:43):
You know, maybe it needs to start cutting it in
the NBA.
Speaker 2 (38:45):
Oh maybe, yeah, geez man, maybe maybe we need to
go back to having this be the way that it is.
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Let's see, there's a lot of really good stuff here.
Matt writes, Hurley didn't want to go to Kentucky because
of his family, who turned down pretty much the same
amount of money from Kentucky that he's being offered by
the Lakers.
Speaker 5 (39:02):
That's what I heard, too, shot me.
Speaker 4 (39:04):
There's a made pretty much pretty ten million dollars more
is a lot more. I don't know. When we get
into this world, we're like only ten million dollars. It's
a lot of money, significantly more. And I don't I
don't think, I know all the reports are out there
to try to make Kentucky look good. I don't think
Kentucky was offering him one hundred million dollars, because if
(39:25):
Kentucky was offering anyone one hundred million dollars, they wouldn't
have had to go on to their eighteenth pick to
get someone to take the job.
Speaker 5 (39:32):
Well, you're probably right about that. I would we agree
on that.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
I don't know if they offered everyone that same type
of contract point.
Speaker 4 (39:38):
You're right about that, Arnie, What are you talking about.
The Lakers can spend whatever they want for staff. Last
time I checked, Jeanie is a boss. However, I do
agree the Laker brand has not been the same since Kobe,
even with Lebron and the title. Oh I agree with
that too. From Pete, how.
Speaker 5 (39:57):
Long is Lebron going to go ahead and still play
in the NBA?
Speaker 3 (39:59):
You got a factor that into the equation also, Chris, Yeah, I.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
Mean what he said. Hey, I was impressed with a
vision from Rob Plinka, But what is that vision? Does
that vision from the Lakers include Bron, Lebron and Bronny
doesn't include Anthony Davis? I don't I don't know. And
then mister nobody writes, what good is a contract? If
Dan Hurley gets fired after one year? There's no way
(40:23):
coach killer Lebron would put up with being yelled at
and called out China Doll. Anthony Davis want function over
a tough minded coach like him. Well, I mean, hard
coaching doesn't mean that you're gonna suddenly get more injured.
I mean, that's that's inevitable, it seems like with Anthony Davis.
But maybe they look at it and they realize this
is what we need. I don't know, but I will
(40:45):
say already own away. When his name popped up on Thursday.
Speaker 5 (40:49):
Caught me by surprise. I don't see that coming.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
All right, when we come back, we'll talk to Todd
Furman about the Vegas numbers are saying. It looks like
there's significant movement for Danny Hurley's next job to be
the Lakers. It's the favorite. Is it real? We'll talk
to Todd next on Fox Sports Radio. All right, hour
two coming to you live from the ti rack dot
com studios. Tire rack dot com will help you get
(41:14):
there an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com
the way tire buying should be Again big news tonight,
as you heard from the Sega Boston takes Game two,
one oh five ninety eight. Celtics are up two games
to none. Game three Wednesday, Game four Friday. No games
(41:36):
on the weekend next week, Arnie.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
No, get out of here.
Speaker 4 (41:39):
I didn't notice that Wednesday Friday, Monday, Wednesday Friday, and
if necessary, I guess we have to say Monday, right, they.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
Botched this whole schedule up from the beginning.
Speaker 4 (41:53):
Kyrie, z ohen twelve's and stepping on the logo in Boston.
Did you know that?
Speaker 5 (41:57):
I knew? Yeah, oh, and eleven and then now we'll twelve.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
And that's why you don't step on the logo, Kyrie,
That's why you don't do that.
Speaker 4 (42:06):
I let me get my let me get my breaking
NFL news out here, Arnie, it's not really breaking anymore.
But since I've teased it for two segments, did Darren
Waller's retirement do anything for you? Did it even I
didn't even see if it showed up on the roman
numeral rundown tonight? No?
Speaker 5 (42:22):
No, I didn't put it on the roman numeral r.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
Cour You did send the roman numeral rundown at eight
thirty this morning?
Speaker 5 (42:29):
Yeah, yeah, I wanted to get you yet tired. I
wanted to get you some you know some. Well, even
if it did and I had not written it out yet,
I wouldn't have put it on there. Really didn't do anything.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
Really think to me, the figure shouted, why did it
get Did it rock.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
You a little bit?
Speaker 4 (42:43):
Or what I mean? He's one of the most productive
tight ends in the game, and they made the deal
with the Raiders for I think it was a third
fourth round pick. And he's gone after one season, and
I guess and I am the biggest Aaron Waller fan
because of his story. But he claimed that he had
(43:03):
a medical emergency that left him hospitalized last year that
played part in his decision to retire. Obviously, his marriage
fell apart very publicly. He had a scary overdose way
back in twenty seventeen that, according to all the reports
in his stories, scared him into sobriety, and then he
(43:24):
had another life threatening issue apparently. So I don't know, man,
I just I kind of felt like he might be
a little bit more for the Giants, maybe even more
of a career after how great he looked with Derek
Carr and Gruden. But I don't know, maybe just not
dismissing his retirement, not minimizing his retirement. But I mean,
come on, dude, you didn't do all that much in
(43:45):
New York to drag this out the way that he did.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
No, and he's also what only thirty one, So for
some reason, I feel like it's not permanent that he
could also, I care you find his way back with
the team, especially if there's major injuries or something to that,
somebody will say, hey him, come out of retirement. You
as football yet next year, you know he's on a
roster somewhere, you know.
Speaker 4 (44:06):
So I'm curious because I know we got a handful
of Giants fans to check in regularly on the Twitter
machine at Stinking Genius One. I'm at Plank Show. I
know how I feel about him as a Raider fan,
but I'm just I'm curious if it if it has
Giants fans feeling some sort of way knowing that he's
a great he's a great weapon to have to help out.
(44:28):
Whichever quarterback is gonna be your guy next year, if
it's a young guy, if it's still Daniel Jones, I
don't know, Arnie, but he's a good guy to do that.
Then the second story, I know you love them. I
know you love all the clips about how great things
are looking and how much a guy might suck, right,
you love all these reports out of OTA's.
Speaker 5 (44:48):
Right, of course, I do. I eat that stuff up.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Well, let me let me play for you. Sean Payton
here talking about Zach Wilson, and we know that right now.
I guess it's fair to assume that what bo Nick's
it's going to be the day one started for the
Broncos drafted him as early as you did, or is he.
Speaker 11 (45:05):
We just felt like, man, we'd love to work with
this guy. It wasn't too long ago. We remember grading
him and we felt the investment was worth it relative
to his skill set and his talent. And so it
took a while. You know, we spent the better part
of a month and a half working on that trade.
Speaker 4 (45:27):
So month and a half to get him right. Is
there any chance that he could end up being the
opening night day? I don't even know in Denver's opening?
Could he be either Week one starter? Maybe?
Speaker 5 (45:38):
Maybe?
Speaker 3 (45:38):
I think too? Yeah, not be on the Roman possibility?
My goodness, man, he needed to get the hell out
of there. But what I did put in the Roman
number was there was Damien Harris blaming Belichick for the
woes of mac Jones, saying, you know, the guy never
conformed and he's the reason why mac Jones.
Speaker 5 (45:59):
Was in six as fall.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Well, now we're gonna, you know, see someone here with
a second chance. Let's see what Zach can do with
a whole nother another coach and a whole nother offensive.
Speaker 5 (46:10):
Outlook, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (46:11):
By the way, do you buy that on Harris? Do
you blame Belichick for that? I felt like Belichick was
one of the few people who like went down with
that ship with mac Jones.
Speaker 3 (46:21):
I don't think mac Jones should be a starter in
the NFL, but I do believe he had something to
do with the you know, with the woes of the
Patriots the last couple of years.
Speaker 5 (46:30):
There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 4 (46:31):
Well, no, no, no, no, I agree with you. But I mean
if Damian Harris basically blamed Bill Belichick for the lack
of development for mac Jones, right, I mean, if we're
talking about the same clip.
Speaker 5 (46:43):
Right, No, I know, I don't buy that.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Ika.
Speaker 3 (46:47):
Look, there's a big difference between Brady and Belichick and
mac Jones and Belichick. So no, I don't believe because
I just don't think mac Jones is a very good
quarterback anyway.
Speaker 4 (46:56):
No, me neither. And I think it'll play out where
he'll be a career backup, probably have a Chase Daniel
type of career. He'll pop in like Matt Flynn did
for a game or two, and the next thing, you know,
You're like, dang, did he just throw like five touchdown
passes Nick Foles?
Speaker 11 (47:10):
What?
Speaker 4 (47:10):
Nick Foles throws seven for the Eagles against the Raiders.
Then next thing you know, he ends up in a
backup somewhere and they say he's fighting for the job
and it win a game or two. Yeah, I think
that's Mac Jones' career career. Backup proverbial backup the rest
of the way, and we'll see how it works out.
All right, you want to get some more of these
tweets or you want to find about Danny Hurley in
the NBA's irrelevance tonight with this horrible game two.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
No, No, a couple of tweets. We getting a lot
of them tonight. So let's go ahead and get out
of it all right.
Speaker 4 (47:35):
At Stinking Genius one, I'm at Plank Show, and everybody
should follow us at Fox Sports Radio. Honestly, it's the
easiest and the best way to get in touch with
the program every single Sunday night here on Fox Sports Radio.
Nature Boy writes, the WOJ Bomb said that Danny Hurley
would get more money than Stinking Genius's college fund for
his family. Do you think that's fair?
Speaker 5 (47:56):
Yeah? That is fair. There's no doubt about that. That
is fair out there.
Speaker 3 (47:59):
I am waiting to hear what the official announcement was
if he takes his job with the Wakers.
Speaker 5 (48:05):
How much actually's on the table there?
Speaker 4 (48:07):
You know, mister nobody writes the Mavericks are getting exposed.
They beat not ready for primetime, OKC in Minnesota. I'll
be nice and say Celtics and six because Luca and
Kyrie will carry them to two wins.
Speaker 3 (48:22):
Yeah, he's it's not gonna go six. They will go five,
Boston five. Wrap it up, matter of fact that it
could be a sweet But you know, it's so tough
to take two on the road, especially when the other
team is scrapping like that. So I'll give them. I'll
give Dallas one. Yeah, that's very kind to me. But
other than that, they won't take two. They have a
(48:44):
better chance of dating a supermodel before that happens.
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Well, since you have no chance of that and you're married,
But wouldn't it be fun for us? Let me just
create the best content result over the next two days.
In other words, the best thing for sports radio would
be for the Mavericks to win the next two games,
(49:09):
and Jason Tatum not play all that well. In other words,
the MAVs even the series the two games a piece,
aren't and then suddenly Jason Tatum's had four games where
he's not playing all that well. Then we get to
get into well, let's see, that would be Game three
would then be what I say, on Wednesday, Game four
would be on Friday. Well, we wouldn't get to talk
(49:29):
about it throughout the week because you'd be taken. You
and I could talk about it next Sunday night. I mean,
wouldn't that be great for the content gods? Because here
we're already having this incessant debate about Jason Tatum and
his legacy and what it means. Well, imagine if we
go into a Game five on Monday night, a week
from tomorrow, not this coming a week from tomorrow, and
Jason Tatum hasn't played all that well, and suddenly the
(49:51):
series is even up a kind of content machine we want.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
Yes, that's the only thing that could save interest in
the NBA Finals is that if Dallas takes the next
two dominate, Tatum plays awful and then we start pourting
the fingers at him. I agree with you, one hundred percent,
don't see that happening.
Speaker 5 (50:10):
But I agree with you hundred percent on that.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Yeah, there you go. You want something that'll juice it
up a little bit. For those of you that are
tired of hearing people fight about Caitlin Clark, there you go.
Listen to people fight about for days. What Jason Tatum's
true impact is? JP writes, Hey, Arnie, did you see
your favorite chemistry tutor banging the drum before the Panthers
win in Game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. Maybe
(50:32):
he should do that before the Dolphins next postseason game
so they can finally get a playoff win.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
I loved it. I thought it was great.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
Plus, did you hear about the meetings now at twenty
four past the holus?
Speaker 4 (50:43):
Dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life?
Speaker 3 (50:45):
I thought, that's fantastic. I love the mindset. I love
the way he does that. That's fantastic. I love that
he does that.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
You know, I'll tell you what. I'm happy for you
that suddenly you believe in this guy. But the only
thing having meetings at twenty four past the hour does
is make people wonder, how dumb is it that we're
doing meetings at twenty four past the hour. That's it.
(51:13):
It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in my life.
Twenty four I'm gonna show them. I bet that thing's
changed in a week. Whenever, Like, well, if we meet
at twenty four, then that means we only get a
couple of extra minutes here. Yeah, a mindset. You want
to remind everyone how much your franchise sucks.
Speaker 5 (51:30):
Oh wow, I'm being serious. Gosh, such venomin you tonight. Unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (51:37):
No, no, no, I just I feel like I need
to become the ambassador of truth on this program, because
if Miami or Arizona does anything, it's the greatest thing
you've ever seen. If I told you we're gonna have
how long how long do you say that we've done
this show together?
Speaker 5 (51:53):
Twelve years?
Speaker 4 (51:54):
Twelve years? If I say we're having every single meeting
at twelve after the hour because I want to remind
mind you how long we've gone without getting a Monday
through Friday show, at some point you'd be like, this
is dumb. Why are we not just meeting at the
top of the hour, or why reminding ourselves each other
of our failures.
Speaker 3 (52:10):
I would say I would say that, But if the
boss suggested that I'd say, brilliant brilliance.
Speaker 4 (52:20):
That's hilarious. You know what's funny to me, though, in
all of this, is how little it takes to get
you back on board with somebody like you're out on him.
He looks like a chemistry professor. What is he even doing?
Did someone sneak him down on the sidelines all of
a sudden, he's doing meetings at twenty four after the hour,
and you're like, oh, look at this. This is a
stroke of brilliance. Is that all it takes? Is that
(52:42):
all it takes?
Speaker 5 (52:42):
I'm all in.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
This year, no injuries, I'm in on my coach, Skinny Tua.
Everybody's happy, Wattles signed. Our defense is going to be okay,
this is gonna be our year.
Speaker 5 (52:55):
I can't wait.
Speaker 4 (52:56):
Well, here's the other thing you're not gonna like to hear.
Everyone loves your defensive coordinate and I know how much
you can't stand Oh the coordinators getting in love?
Speaker 5 (53:03):
So they didn't like him.
Speaker 4 (53:05):
No, everybody loves your current defensive coordinator.
Speaker 5 (53:07):
Yes, yes, that's true.
Speaker 4 (53:08):
Yes, And of course they didn't like him because he
tried to make them work. Do you want to do this? Tweet?
From Nick and just kind of get this out of
the way, get a break, cleanse a palette and talk
to Todd Furman.
Speaker 5 (53:21):
Sure, I don't know where it is. I didn't see it.
Speaker 4 (53:23):
You didn't see the tweet from Mark from Nick about
Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 5 (53:27):
No, I didn't see it.
Speaker 4 (53:28):
Okay, great, then I'll just move on. Here. Here's one
from Big Greg and Iowa, who writes, I think Arnie
is either drunk or high or just hoping that as
a Knicks fan, Tibbs gets booted to get early. Yeah,
from what I heard earlier from you, as you're ready
for Tom Thibodeau to go in New York, and you
went Danny Hurley to be the guy.
Speaker 5 (53:45):
No, I like Tibbs.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
I love the job he's done, and he's gonna have
to conform a little bit and obviously not play those
guys so many minutes.
Speaker 5 (53:52):
But no, I like what he's done.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
I don't know if he's going to get into the championship,
but I think he can, and that's why I'm whim
to give him another couple more years.
Speaker 4 (54:01):
Okay, Then here's one more from Pete, who writes, if
Dan Hurley leaves, YU kon it will be a big mistake.
You have to have a certain type of personality to
coach in the NBA, and he is too hyped up
and in your face. With that being said, he has
accomplished everything in college basketball, So I say take the money.
Hey went in two in a row. Resets that expectation. Man,
(54:23):
It's no longer just ah, you know what, maybe we'll
make a good run to the Elite eight or maybe
this way. No, no, no, you gotta win a title. You
gotta play for the title.
Speaker 5 (54:32):
Anilistic expectations at this point right now.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
Oh absolutely. And I think now when we let's just say,
hypothetically he takes the Lakers job, well, those unrealistic expectations,
Arnie are going to be through the roof with the
Lakers because we're gonna know how much he makes. You're
gonna know about you know that, the relationship with Lebron
and if they draft Bronni or whatever. But I mean,
(54:55):
I yeah, you've got heavy expectations to continue to when it.
But it's not like the expectations dip if you do
take the Lakers job. I mean we're.
Speaker 5 (55:04):
Creatz Oh no, not at all.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
It gets even worse that even with the Lakers job
because you've given Connecticut back to back championship, so you
have a little bit of a leadway there, you know.
Speaker 4 (55:14):
Yeah, I know, I agree. Hey, when we come back
to the Tirack dot Com studios, keep the tweets coming.
They're really good, really good stuff. It's stinking genius.
Speaker 3 (55:21):
One.
Speaker 4 (55:21):
I'm at Plank Show. We're gonna talk to Todd Furman
get an update on how things are going with all
of the wagering on the NBA Finals and what he's
seeing in the NFL future market. We'll dive into it
next with Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday.
All right, it's Arnie and Plank and our buddy Todd
Furman Bet the Board podcast all over all over social
(55:41):
media at Todd Furman. All right, Todd, how how intense
has the wagering if it all been on the NBA Finals?
And who ended up getting the good side of it tonight?
The uh the player of the book.
Speaker 9 (55:55):
John, what side of the leisure you fell on? And
not exactly an optimal outcome for books when the game
falls seven knowing this number open seven and a half
got as low as six and a half, so it
fall could have fallen for a lot of folks right
in the middle of the game, comes in comfortably under
the total for a number of the close at two
fourteen and a half. But when you look at the
way betting is gone, I mean, Dallas has attracted a
lot of interest in each of the first two games.
(56:17):
A little bit more tempered tonight given the blowout that
they suffered in Game one, But it'll be a very
interesting dynamic to see what unfolds in the betting market
with Dallas a short home favorite as they look to
try and get in the win column for the first
time in the NBA Finals, Dodd.
Speaker 3 (56:31):
Can you still bet on Boston maybe taking the sweep?
What kind of odds can you get on something like that?
Because it certainly looks like they're on their way to
do something like that.
Speaker 9 (56:40):
It essentially boils down to a two game parlay, So
you're looking at Boston as a modest underdog, aren'y? And
then if they were to win game three. Knowing how
serious effect works, you could probably work under the assumption
that Boston would open as a modest road favorite, so
you'd be looking at, you know, nothing more substantial than
what a typical two team parlay would look to pay
so somewhere in that twelve to five, three to one
range or thereabouts, So a far cry from what you
(57:02):
could have had before the series started. And when you
look at the numbers now, Boston has moved out to
a nine dollars favorite. If you think the Mavericks can
come back, it'll get you about six and a half
to one in terms of return on investment.
Speaker 4 (57:13):
So I'm curious to get your take. Todd, as someone
who covers it, does a lot of your own shows,
and as a guest, you're great guest another show I
know you're on with Jason and Mike. So maybe you
guys have already talked about this on Friday Night, But
what was your initial reaction to the Dan Hurley rumors
and then of course the impending wildness of following this
search over the last seventy two hours. What have you
(57:34):
made of him as a candidate at the Lakers.
Speaker 9 (57:37):
I think the biggest thing is you guys may have
to provide a wellness check for one of the other
FSR radio hosts that already works with on a regular
basis and make sure Aaron Torres can provide proof of
life if Danny Hurley alects to leave stores Connecticut for
the sunshine and the beaches of southern California, I give
the Lakers a ton of credit. I mean, it's one
of the more pre eminent names in the NBA. It's
(57:57):
an organization that's been a little bit downtrod over the
last couple of years and clearly has to figure out
how to get the most out of its talent. Knowing
that Lebron James isn't going to be there in perpetuity,
so it makes sense to kick the tires and allow
Dan Hurley to make that decision. If he turns you down,
nothing gained, nothing lost, then you go in a different direction.
But credit to them for keeping this under wraps as
(58:18):
long as they've been able to do so, because his
name wasn't attached to this job from the onset. He
of course was rumored to be involved with the Kentucky
search and some of the other high profile college jobs
that were out there, but he wasn't even listed on
a lot of the odds boards. So I think I'm
very curious to see what Dan Hurley says tomorrow, and
if he decides, hey, look I've accomplished everything I can
and then some as a head coach at Yukon, and
(58:40):
I just don't want to be part of the college
game where the demands and the job significantly different than
they work ten to fifteen years ago.
Speaker 5 (58:46):
Todd.
Speaker 3 (58:46):
I see on Twitter that a rash Markazi put out
that you can get three to one on Hurley staying
at Yukon. That's some pretty good odds because I think
he's going to end up staying.
Speaker 9 (58:57):
I mean, I think at this point in the search,
I mean, those are the kind of markets for me, Arnie,
unless I had perfect information, I'm not running to try
and be So if I knew somebody in Danny Hurley's camp,
then I'd feel comfortable taking a price tag one way
or the other. But it's pure speculation right now. And
usually if you get into these markets and you're wrong,
you almost feel, you know, like an idiot in the
(59:17):
grand scheme of things, because you do know that somebody
has the perfect information to try and be able to
give you the bandwidth to get things going. So I'm
curious to see when that announcement comes out tomorrow. You
have to imagine soon earlier in the day, and what
direction the Lakers would subsequently go. If Hurley does say no.
Speaker 4 (59:33):
To their GI I wonder if there's a slam dunk
number two, like, if it's not Hurley, is that their
way to say, well, you know, we went out and
we tried and it's just JJ Reddick or I don't know,
one of the other assistants they would be talking to.
Do you feel like Todd, there might be just a
slam dunk number two choice waiting to get the offer
if Hurley says, now.
Speaker 9 (59:53):
You know, I don't think so, given the fact that
they've gone in this direction. So if JJ Reddick was
going to be your guy, you probably would have an
offer initially. And we know that a lot of these
coaches personalities and whatnot do have big egos around some
of these spots. So sometimes if they find themselves, you know,
further down the pecking order, they may decide that they
want to wait for another job to become available. But again,
(01:00:15):
it's being head coach of the Lakers, and this kind
of opportunity doesn't come along all that often. Although I
say that now and I feel the Lakers have gone
through thirty seven head coaches in just the last handful
of season, Todd.
Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
Still good job to be the head coach of the
LA Lakers, especially if you're Danny Hurley and you got
to deal with the Lebron and Bronny situation.
Speaker 9 (01:00:33):
I mean, look, what else can Danny Hurley accomplish as
a head coach at Yukon. He's already won back to
back national championship, So he has to go out and
re recruit his team every single year in the current landscape.
And look, Lebron's not going to be around for that
much longer. And maybe who knows, Danny Hurley can get
the best out of Brownie James if he believes that
he can be the kind of player that will, in
some way, shape or form be able to contribute. But
(01:00:56):
I think regardless of what direction the Lakers go in
terms of their head coach, that's not a ross are
built to.
Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
Win right now.
Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
In the NBA, we've seen a lot more parody in
the league go over the last couple of years and
teams being able to kind of rebuild themselves on the fly.
But Danny Hurley and the way he's coached up town
and try to get young kids to buy in, We'll
have to change a little bit of his coaching approach.
Like some of his predecessors that have made the jump
from college to the NBA, some SUCCEP more successfully than others.
Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
What was going on in Sonoma today, It just I know.
And by the way, Todd is incredible if you're somebody
that likes to wet the beak on NASCAR? Is the
NASCAR Show weekly Todd as part of the bet the
Board podcast during the season?
Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Is it?
Speaker 9 (01:01:37):
Yep? We do weekly shows from a preseason preview all
the way and so we'll race for the championship early
on in Phoenix. So we will take a little bit
of a break with off the All Star endeavor, sorry,
the Olympic endeavor in late July. But at the same time,
when you mentioned Sonoma and some of the chaos early,
whether the repave or the unique conditions, definitely something that
(01:01:58):
we have not grown accustomed to with that many laps
done under caution. Thankfully, it's stay green for the latter
portion of the race, and you were able to see
a little bit of strategy kind of play out there.
Look like Chris Pusher and Martin Shrex Junior, we're gonna
have enough to fend off Kyle Larson, who ends up
getting to the front with fresh retires and then, unfortunately,
if you find yourself to be a fan of Martin
Shrex Junior, he runs out of gas and comes up
(01:02:20):
just a bit short in terms of the finishing position,
becoming the last car to finish on the lead.
Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Lap'd you beten Eddie NHL already up one games enoughing
with the Panthers, Eddie Edmonton come back here or what
you know?
Speaker 9 (01:02:33):
Edmonton arguably was the better team in game one. They
just didn't have an answer for Serga Vibrowski, who was
outstanding every time he was called on, including his early
miss queue in the game. Florida was extremely opportunistic and
we'll see what kind of pushbacks that the Oilers can
mount in game two. But no reason to panic for
the Oilers whatsoever. In a series like this, I think
the longer it goes though, Florida a deeper, more physical team,
(01:02:54):
And the one thing that was apparent to me is
that Florida has some of the depth at center, most
notably with Sasha Barkov that's able to make life extremely
difficult for Conor McDavid to create space.
Speaker 1 (01:03:03):
So if the.
Speaker 9 (01:03:03):
Oilers are going to bring the Cup to Canada for
the first time in more than thirty years. It's going
to be because of some of those depth players that
perform it. I think it should be a fascinating chess
match to see who makes the proper adjustments. Can Edmonton
even it up before they take it north to the border.
Will Florida be able to put a stranglehold on the
series and put themselves in the caf Or Sea to
win the Family Cup for the first time in franchise history?
Speaker 4 (01:03:23):
Todd, before we let you go, I've got to know
this is kind of the Raider fan in me, maybe
a bit. But is there any buzz about Tom Brady's ownership?
Is it suddenly diminished? Is it going to happen? I mean,
I see him doing everything but getting affirm being confirmed
as part of an owner of the Raiders franchise. Where
(01:03:44):
is this right now? And is there any talk about
it around Vegas at all?
Speaker 9 (01:03:48):
Not a whole heck of a lot, not in my circles,
and haven't seen that many stories circulating and some of
the local papers there. I have to imagine that the
Raiders will do their due diligence. They'll figure out how
to get permission from the League, and this thing will
get wrapped up sooner rather than later. The one thing
I can tell you is that we have seen some
money coming under on the Raiders win total, though, Plank,
much to your chagrin of some of the sevens being
(01:04:09):
cleared out of the market. So I think that number
will trend a much closer to six and a half
when the Raiders go to camp trying to figure out
who the man under center will be for week one.
Will it be Ad O'Connell getting the Nott or will
we live through the Gardner Minshew experience out here in
the desert.
Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
Good stuff, you're the man Todd. Have a great week, buddy.
Thanks appreciate your time.
Speaker 9 (01:04:27):
Always a pleasure, as hey. One last thing, Plank, congrats
to your beloved Oklahoma Sooners for yet another Softball World Series.
They're fourth straight. And my condolences to you, Arnie for
your beloved Arizona Wildcats and their short stint and the
men's baseball tournament. It felt like they were never even
in a game, going oh and two and bowing out
oh so graciously to West Virginia, one of their new
conference mates in the Big twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
Yeah, that was uncalled for. Todd very uncalled for. We
didn't have a good experience here. That was that was her.
We ran out of gas there at the end. There's
no doubt about that.
Speaker 9 (01:04:57):
I mean, look, Arney, it was only this time two
weeks ago, were that they were going to pull the double,
that they were going to bring the softball National Championship
and a men men's College World Series. Crownd back to Tucson.
So alas, the dream will continue on and maybe the
Big twelve will be the landing spot that Arizona needs
to achieve all of those unrealistic expectations. You keep up
on that broad up.
Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
We're saving it. We're saving it for football.
Speaker 7 (01:05:18):
Todd.
Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
It's all going into the football.
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
My friend, time big, that's Todd Furnman. All right, here
comes Steve to Seger because we got a lot going on.
We got call. We saw a college baseball game and
it's coming down to the wire between Kentucky and Oregon State.
But tons tonight, Steve's got it all. What's going on
to Saga?
Speaker 10 (01:05:36):
You mentioned the baseball it's two out, two on for
Oregon State. They're trailing at Kentucky three to two in
the ninth inning.
Speaker 4 (01:05:43):
We've got multiple.
Speaker 10 (01:05:44):
Matchups set for the College World Series. Florida against Texas
A and M is one of those openers. Florida in
thirteen innings eliminated Clemson eleven to ten. Gators had won
yesterday ten to seven at Clemson. A and M, ranked
number three in the country, won yesterday ten six over
Oregon and eliminated the Ducks to night fifteen to nine.
We know number one Tennessee has advanced twelve to one
(01:06:07):
the home win to eliminate Evansville Tennessee against Florida State
in the College World Series. We mentioned this last night.
The Yukon team that would be so loved by one
Aaron Torres lost its weekend opener twenty four to four
to the Seminoles, and then Florida State yesterday eliminated Connecticut
in twelve innings. Virginia eliminated Kansas State. North Carolina eliminated
(01:06:31):
West Virginia. This weekend it's North Carolina against West Virginia
and it's just ending. Yeah, Kentucky has advanced. You talked
about Kentucky basketball. Sorry, Kentucky baseball is going to the
College World Series.
Speaker 4 (01:06:43):
How do you take a strike three with the game
tying run at third base. Goodbye Pac twelve. It was
nice to know you rip.
Speaker 10 (01:06:54):
Doing his William Dumas impersonation at the end of.
Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
The twenty World Series, bat off your sho.
Speaker 10 (01:07:00):
Kentucky three to two over Oregon State, so that is
set number two. Kentucky has advanced. They had beaten Oregon
State ten nothing yesterday. A reminder, Stanley Cup Game two
is tomorrow night at Florida. The Panthers beat Edmonton three
to nothing in last night's opener. Florida had won the
Eastern Conference, taking a game six against the top seeded
New York Rangers. Therefore, this is the ninth straight season
(01:07:23):
and original six NHL team will not be winning the
Stanley Cup. Edmonton took the West Final last Sunday, winning
a game six against top seeded Dallas in the West
and despite being outshot thirty five to ten in that game,
and then here Oilers open the final getting shut out
last night, and then we have the NBA Finals. Will
it be a shutout? Boston has taken the first two
(01:07:44):
at home. They're up two games to none after beating
Dallas again. One oh five ninety eight drew Holiday with
twenty six points eleven rebounds and no turnovers. In NBA history,
a team that takes a two to zero lead in
the finals usually wins the finals bowl exceptions in recent years,
Phoenix twenty twenty one won the first two at home
(01:08:05):
and then lost the next four of the series to
Milwaukee as Giannis had that fifty point game in the clincher,
and Golden State in twenty sixteen famously blew a lead
in the finals against Lebron and Kyrie and the Cavs,
and as far as Kyrie irving, his teams have lost
to the Celtics every time he's played Boston the last
(01:08:26):
three seasons oh to twelve. After tonight, don't step on
the logo. That's what you get, big boy. Don't do
that now. He is averaging twenty points a game against
him in these three years, but it's twenty six points
a game overall against Boston, shooting only forty one percent
these last three years, forty nine percent overall. Kristaps Porzingis
(01:08:47):
was on the court again. He says, you're gonna have
to kill me to drag me off. Despite you saw
the limping after he can come down very well on
one of those second half plays, but Porzingis had been
out since late April with the straining CAF. He did
play Game one, had the twenty points off the bench
mostly first half, twelve points in Game two. Game three
will be at Dallas on Wednesday night. Carlos Alcarez won
(01:09:09):
the French Open in five sets. Scottie Scheffler. Scheffler took
the Memorial that's his fifth victory of the season. And
Kyle Larson the NASCAR victor at Sonoma, his third win
this year and he has the points lead now and
Larson is from northern California winning at this road course there.
Denny Hamlin finished last today after early engine trouble. This
(01:09:31):
was the last Cup race of the year on a
Fox channel. By the way, Yankees beat the Dodger six '
four Aaron Judge with his twenty fourth homer, and the
Mets won the London Game six ' five over Philadelphia
with three runs in the top of the ninth. Attendance
fifty five thousand at west Ham United Stadium in London.
It was reconfigured for MLB this weekend. The loss to
(01:09:51):
Phillies closer Jose Alverado, the Mets scored late on an
infield single a bases loaded hit batter and a pass ball.
Well that'll back to you.
Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
Oh that's a very very bad combination, right there, Arnie. Yes,
Kentucky's going to the College World Series. Yes, for the
first time ever. They just beat Oregon State. It's a
final PAC twelve team that was alive in the college
baseball postseason, which means the PAC twelve is no more.
(01:10:23):
Feel any kind of way, or were you done once
Arizona lost in base.
Speaker 3 (01:10:27):
No, I think once Arizona lost, I was over with
the whole thing. And then once the you know, once
the PAC twelfth tournament finished, I'm like, okay, that was
the last thing that happened. And you know, obviously you
had people left in the softball, in the baseball, but
I was pretty much over it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:45):
It's it's done.
Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
I'm ready to move on and start kicking a little
booty there in the Big twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:10:52):
You So you're not like nostalgic or anything about this.
Speaker 5 (01:10:56):
No, No, it's I'm not like the old Southwest Conference
or gonna hold it the highest team I was.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
I really didn't, you know, I didn't like the times
of the West Coast. I didn't like where the teams
were situated.
Speaker 4 (01:11:08):
You crafted down our throats.
Speaker 5 (01:11:11):
Well, I had no other choice, man, Yes you did.
Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
You could have set all this stuff while it was happening,
not be some shill for a league.
Speaker 5 (01:11:20):
It wouldn't be in a shill. I I just wanted
to go out.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
You were being a shill. Now you dump all over it.
And how terrible it was in all these start times.
Where was this whenever you were telling me about Conference
of Champions and the greatness of the PAC twelve.
Speaker 3 (01:11:33):
We didn't get our respect. We didn't get our due.
And now I'm ready to see that. That's what I
love about it that since we didn't get our do
I'm ready to go to the Big twelve where you
get a lot more respect.
Speaker 4 (01:11:43):
Will you. You dumped all over the Big twelve for
the longest time, too, Boy, you're really digging holes for
yourself here.
Speaker 5 (01:11:50):
No, I we did, But now you know there's a
new way.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
Yeah, yeah, say anytime to discuss the possible end of
the PAC twelve. Oregon State loses to Kentucky tonight, Well,
I tried late night drug tester. I didn't realize that
it was just some trash league that didn't mean anyway.
I guess all those editles for UCLA didn't matter.
Speaker 5 (01:12:10):
And are you a little jerry I that you're going
to the SEC.
Speaker 3 (01:12:13):
Or what.
Speaker 4 (01:12:15):
I'm sad about leaving the Big twelve. I'm sad about
the PAC ten PLAC twelve going away.
Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
You're just sad because you know you're gonna get your
butts kicked when you go to the SEC.
Speaker 4 (01:12:24):
I don't know. I hope not. It's gonna be awesome though,
to go to LSU and to go to let's see
where all we going this year, Oxford, We're gonna go
to Auburn. Those are all awesome places to go for
a football game. So I'm all about it. To be
the best, you got to beat the best, By God,
I want Oklahoma to be the best. But if you're
telling me I'm gonna it's like, aha, goodbye Big twelve. FU. No, man,
(01:12:47):
there's great memories that were made. I know those cities,
I know those fans. I didn't realize that, you know,
you were just ready to tap out on the Pac
twelve because you sucked at it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Well, what UCA and USC said there leaving I'm like, okay, yeah,
you know now that your your girlfriend wants to break
up with you, you can't really do much about it.
Speaker 5 (01:13:07):
They were gone. So that was pretty much the end
of the Pac twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:13:10):
So basically what you're saying is Arizona was inferior to
UCLA and USC, and now that you're having to go
to the Big twelve, you become inferior to Oklahoma State
and Kansas State. Well you're like essentially third and fourth fiddle.
Yet yet again, what what what did that come uponut?
What did you get? You just said that as soon
as UCLA and USC left you pretty much were done
(01:13:32):
with it. Yeah, yeah, and you're wagging it in.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
But once they decided they were gone, I'm like, okay,
it's it's all exploded. We got to get imploded. We
gotta get the heck out of yere. Everybody for themselves
start abandoning ship. We got to get the heck out
of year.
Speaker 4 (01:13:48):
You were like the last one off.
Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
Well we made it off, did we not? Or what
we didn't go down with the ship like the Titanic?
Speaker 4 (01:13:55):
Well, only two schools really did, I mean yeah, exactly,
only only what was it, Washington's eight and Oregon State
truly did. And it's kind of funny because I say
the end of the PAC twelve, but technically for another season,
Washington State and Oregon State will play under the PAC twelve. Moniker,
I just don't know what that's gonna look like going forward.
What would you do with the PAC twelve ended up
becoming better? And they bring it like Boise State, and
(01:14:17):
they break it like Nevada. I would believe they build it.
Let us back it, let us back it. Come on, now,
how about that. Congratulations to Kentucky, first ever trip to
the College World Series for the Kentucky Wildcats. All right,
when we come back, let's hit some of your tweets.
Let's get some more football in here. We're gonna take
you to the locker rooms. Coming up the top of
(01:14:38):
next hour. Some posts, get Sager. That's what I'm getting to, right,
and when we come back, Steve Sagro on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, it's already in Plank, coming to you live
from the ti raq dot com studios. Tirack dot com
will help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended it installers.
(01:14:59):
Tyra dot Conway tirebuying should be what's going on? Steve Seger,
A good evening to you.
Speaker 10 (01:15:05):
We've got stuff to get to, but first this coming
across the fame. Figure skating coach Frank Carroll has passed
away at the age of eighty five after a battle
with cancer. He died in southern California. Frank Carroll was
the coach of so many US national champions over the decades.
Michelle Kwan included also Linda Frattiani going back decades, Evan Lysachek,
and many others. Frank Carroll dead at age eighty five.
Speaker 4 (01:15:28):
All right, for.
Speaker 10 (01:15:29):
Major League Baseball, Two things I want to ask if
you saw today the Blue Jays foul pop in Oakland
is one of them. And also the ending to the
Angels home game against Houston. Yes, the thing in Oakland
is foul pop and there's a lot of foul territory
in Oakland. So the guys on the Toronto bench, the
visiting team starts scattering. One of the pitchers, who wasn't
(01:15:51):
pitching today was on the bench, didn't just scatter. He
ran forward onto the field of play and ran over
the fielder who was over.
Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
It to try and make the catch.
Speaker 10 (01:16:02):
Initially, the umpire gives the safe call like no harm,
no foul, and the fielder who's on his back looks
up and just has palms out like are you kidding me?
And after a discussion then they called him out. But
the ending to the Angels home game in Anaheim against
Houston is that it's one out, seven to seven, high
(01:16:22):
bottom of the ninth and a deep drive to left
and the fielder it appears for Houston, makes the catch
at the wall. This was the call from the Angels
TV network, Bally Sports West up near the wall.
Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Cabbage taught it, No, it don't, it's gone.
Speaker 4 (01:16:39):
That's a home run.
Speaker 10 (01:16:42):
It turns out that the ball was in the outfielder's
glove until he hit the wall, and then he dropped
the ball into row one of the seats, oh for
a home run. The game winner, a two run walk
off homer. And that's how Houston lost.
Speaker 3 (01:16:57):
You know, the runner almost interfere with the guy going back.
The first was he thought he was being caught and
they had to call him out.
Speaker 5 (01:17:05):
Nobody noticed that.
Speaker 10 (01:17:06):
Was the batter going to pass his teammate on the bases.
Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
It turns out not so.
Speaker 10 (01:17:10):
But what a crazy ending because the wall in left field,
kind of like at Dodger Stadium, is about waist high
at that part of left field, and the ball got
jarred and the ball dropped over the wall into the
first row and Houston takes an o. Meanwhile, this weekend
in New York, the International Boxing Hall of Fame class
(01:17:30):
of twenty twenty four was honored. That includes Ricky Hatton
and Michael Moore, who became the first southpaw heavyweight champion
in his day. Unfortunately, Moore, who went fifty two to
four as a fighter with one draw, says he has
undergone twenty eight surgeries and been left without the ability
to smell or the ability to taste. He was saying
(01:17:53):
it's time to prioritize the welfare of fighters, especially for
the sanctioning bodies such as they are in boxing, and
managers and promoters, because he said the toll on a
fighter's body persists long after they hang up their gloves.
I'm just one of the many retired fighters who've been
left to deal with a long list of injuries without
any meaningful insurance assistance.
Speaker 3 (01:18:15):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (01:18:16):
Crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 10 (01:18:17):
Thirteen member class for the Boxing Hall and that it
also included broadcaster Nick Charles and journalist Wallace mann al Ip.
Nick Charles Nick Charles that used to be with CNN, right, yeah, damn,
I loved him. I remember Nick Charles, is this great
been years that he passed away. I remember him on
the media of us to a Super Bowl once, Nick Charles.
Speaker 4 (01:18:38):
CBS Gonsince twenty eleven.
Speaker 10 (01:18:40):
Beck when CNN used to do sports, as you'll recall.
Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
That's right seeing in sports as we have to explain
that to the kids, sorry, headline sports used to be
a thing, and that's the only way we can ever
get scores of games. We watched the scroll underneath to
hopefully get a score update, or we'd be listening to
Arnie Spaniel on one on one Sports.
Speaker 5 (01:18:57):
Yes, exactly, exactly, Van Eerl.
Speaker 10 (01:18:59):
Right, let's not forget as far as the NBA TV
ratings going into the finals. The playoff ratings this year
were down thirteen percent, and you've talked about there's not
quite the buzz for this year of the finals as
compared with some others. The NBA Finals opener averaged only
eleven million TV viewers. By comparison, Yukon's final four games
(01:19:20):
this year averaged fourteen and a half million viewers, and
those college games were only on cable just for the record.
Last night, the Stanley Cup Finals started three million viewers
on ABC for Panthers Oilers. Last year when it was
Panthers against Vegas, it was cable only, so they're at
least better than the cable only Game one from last year.
But there is that Stanley Cup Game two is at
(01:19:43):
Florida tomorrow night. Panthers won three to nothing in the
opener and this is an Oilers team that made the
final even though they fired their head coach early in
the season with the record of three and ten at
the time, So kudos on this run. But for the record,
and they're very aware of this. North of the border,
a Canadian team has not won the Cup since nineteen
ninety three. The odds stat from Sportsnay in Canada is
(01:20:05):
this matchup a Florida team against Edmonton. The distance from Edmonton,
Alberta to Sunrise, Florida is about twenty five hundred miles
for four thousand kilometers. In other words, the longest distance
between Stanley Cup Final opponents in the history of the league.
And kudos to NBC for years of French Open coverage.
(01:20:27):
Today was the end. TNT Sports may not have the
NBA after next season. We'll see, but TNT Sports will
get the French Open rights for ten years starting next year.
And Carlos Alcarez was the French Open finals winner in
five sets today. At age twenty one. The Spaniard won
Wimbledon last year, US Opened the year before, and now
(01:20:49):
on the clay at the French He's the youngest man
ever to win Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces.
Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
Crazy, crazy good. I was watching that today and you're right,
Steve Kudo to NBC did a great job as the
French Open will now move to t in t All right,
when we come back, The Power Hour, your text, Arnie's picks,
and post game reaction from the Celtics win coming up
next on Fox Sports Radio. All Right, Final Hour, Power Hour.
(01:21:16):
You ready, Arnie, our hour, my friend, Let's go what dumb?
What was the big topic last night? I mean, of
course tonight for us. You want to go there? Yeah?
I feel like Ronnie mont Oh you want to go there?
Speaker 5 (01:21:32):
I mean, I am saying this. I was gonna do this.
Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
I tried, Sean, by the way, shady Sean. I tried.
I'm like, can I just can I bust myself out
of my allowed to say this real quick. I'm over it.
It's a channel changer for me. What I know, I
like watching her play. The debating around her. I can't
do it, can't do it. But did Mike Singletary say
when he got mad, can't win with him? Can't do it?
(01:21:56):
I can't. I can't do it. It's nothing bad about
the w NBA or Caitlin Clark. I just I want
to watch her play. I don't care about all these
fights about if she's on the Olympic team or not.
I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
But you're not gonna watch her play. That's the whole
point of it. What do you mean she's not on
the Olympic team, that's fine, but you will be.
Speaker 5 (01:22:16):
On the team. I get a feeling that's my prediction.
Speaker 4 (01:22:19):
Oh did I ruin a prediction?
Speaker 1 (01:22:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:22:21):
I think I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:22:23):
Well, there's a couple of girls that are injured, so
we'll see what happens there. And I do think she
deserves to be in over Tarasi, so there nothing you
can do about that. Though Right now, I just are you?
Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
Are you in?
Speaker 3 (01:22:39):
Like?
Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
Are you digging the fights about is she being treated unfairly?
The even I think she is.
Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
I'll totally be treated unfairly. Okay, I mean I think
it's embarrassing. I I wanted. I wanted Colin Coward. I
demand that Colin get on one of the people from
the selection committee to explain. Is there a vote that
goes on? Do they just discuss this it all come
to the same agreement. Is it three to two that
someone say, okay, you four can have that opinion, but
(01:23:08):
I think arks should be on.
Speaker 5 (01:23:10):
So it's four to one. I need some explanations. I
just can't settle for something like this.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
I think this is my problem is I don't care
and I got to find a reason to care about
it because I just and people gets are so mad.
I'll see guys we work with and they're getting all
fired up on Twitter and they're yelling at people on
their shows. And I'm just.
Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Writing, just trying stuff, stuff like oh, if you haven't
covered stuff in the w NBA, let's stay in your
own lane.
Speaker 4 (01:23:43):
You know. No, See I don't. I don't care about that.
That's fine because that's sports. I just choose to not care.
Like I once I saw the Panthers take the lead,
kind of thought Game one was over, so I didn't
feel like I needed to invest in it. I don't
feel like I need to invest in this, Arnie. I
just it's going to end with her playing basketball and
(01:24:04):
hopefully elevating a lot of levels of women's soups. Well
we'll see if that happens. But yeah, this has been
a big like if it was a podcast, it's like,
all right, Arnie joins us right now to get mad
about Caitlin Clark. I'm hitting the skip ahead a little bit.
I'm going about thirty seconds ahead. And I might be
the problem here, Arnie. I might be the one. This
might be old man yelling at clouds, just that these
(01:24:26):
fights for some reason, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
I just I find them to be pointless. Son, Why
do you think they're so polar white?
Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
I don't know, because everybody's talking. I mean, if you
reach Twitter, there's not three tweets that go by without
one mentioning Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 4 (01:24:43):
I know. That's why I wonder. That's why I'm asking you.
Is this a me problem? Do I need to get
on board with this? It is? Because tell me, I mean,
Chris and I don't care about Do I need anything
about this?
Speaker 5 (01:24:55):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:24:55):
Because now you're tie in a person, Okay, who is
not only polarizing, who's bringing people to the game. Look
at the attendance with the fever. It is absolutely crazin racy.
And now you're tying it to the Olympics and the
fact that she's not on the team.
Speaker 5 (01:25:16):
Catch is our big thing too.
Speaker 4 (01:25:17):
Okay, well, let me pull back even further. I hear
what you're saying about the Olympics, Arnie. I don't care
about any of it. I mean, did I say the Army.
I'm sorry, the Olympics. I don't care about any of it.
I don't care about the fight about is she being
treated unfairly by other players? I don't care about the
fight of It's more than just Caitlin Clark, Like that's all.
(01:25:38):
It's all white noise to me. Like, I get why
the Olympics story is a big deal, but I'm asking
you just this whole topic in general, not just this
one kind of pigeonhole, drilled down version. It's just not hell.
I'll watch a Joe Mozilla press conference before I'll listen
to people fight over whether or not she's treated correctly.
(01:25:59):
I mean, maybe I'm a sucker for pain and how
boring that dude is. But I just this isn't it
for me right now? Well, it might be the problem.
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
Well, somebody tweeted, and I wonder if we're going to
find out how Dawn Steely voted on that USA Women's
basketball selection committee. I could you imagine if she's the
one that led the spearheaded the way to say no, no,
we don't need her on the team. And the reason
they gave was just so embarrassing that well, we're afraid
that her fan base would be disappointed with the lack
(01:26:30):
of playing time that she would get. No, they won't
we win every game by like thirty points. I can't
believe that that's one of the excuses you give somebody
for keeping them off the Olympic team.
Speaker 5 (01:26:43):
It's an embarrassment, is what it is.
Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
Well, I'll monitor Twitter on this already. I just I'll
take your word for it. I'm trying not to get
too angry about it or because I just don't care
about it right now. I just I feel like it's
gonna work itself out. It is kind of weird, though,
in any walk of life where you could find something
that makes you incredibly successful, makes you a lot of
(01:27:05):
money is very popular, and it seems like for the
most part, everyone just wants to complain about it, and
I especially those who benefit the most from it. That's
the surprising thing to me and all this, But see
I'm getting sucked in. You're not sucking me into this conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
No, we're made to feel less if we root for
Caitlin Clark, especially if he didn't cover the WNBA for
the last decade or so. And I'm not going to
be guilted into that. I like watching her. I enjoy it.
I think she's got a great game. I wish she
was playing on the women's Olympic team. That doesn't mean
(01:27:43):
I'm not going to win a root for the women's
Olympic team or hope they don't win the gold medal
or anything like that. I just want to see her
on the team, and unfortunately they didn't put her on,
though I still think she'll find her way on.
Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
I will say it is fascinating to me somebody who again,
I cover women's sports obviously and have seen one of
the greatest runs in the history of softball, But there's
just some stories, aren't you Where I mean, you can
support women's sports and not be like all fired up
about the Caitlin Clark story. It's like, Okay, great, that's cool.
(01:28:19):
I'm glad they're doing well. Why aren't you mad about it?
I just I don't have an opinion on it. I
feel like I keep telling you over and over I
don't have an opinion on it, and you bring something
up and it like pulls something out of me.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
So I know, there's so many different ways to look
at this. I'm just shocked, especially for somebody like you
that does cover women's sports, for you to just wave
the flag and say, Okay, I give.
Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
Up you You've ruined it for me.
Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
I'm just shouting no, no, no, no, no, okay, hold up.
That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying I'm not
getting dragged into this. This has become I am always
amazed at how a story becomes a major story. It's
just how did this become something we've been talking about
now for a week or two weeks or a month.
Every so often it's I'll look up and like, why
are they talking about Dak Prescott today? Right when you're
(01:29:04):
watching the debate shows. It's just these topics that seem
to be Evergreen and everyone's fired up about them. And
that's Caitlin Clark right now, dude, and the way she's
treated and everything around it. It is an absolute bonfire
of success. I think is that. I mean, it's just
blowing up right now, and I gotta find my flame
for it because I'm just I'm gonna have. I'm looking.
(01:29:27):
I'm begging for any cuts from Luca or anything that
could show up on the FTP side so I can
pull out of it because it's just not been the
thing for me this week.
Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
No. I I love it. I like talking about it.
I love reading Twitter. I like seeing what the people
have to say. I like all the fights going on
on Twitter. I eat this whole thing up. I want
her on the team. I like to see more of her.
So yeah, go ahead, chase me away, make me feel
(01:29:57):
that we shouldn't be supporting the WA NBA, and you
go back to being non existence. I saw that one
of the girls was asked the question that she didn't
like and went off on the reporter. Oh my goodness,
So that's what you get. So keep keep pushing us,
keep pushing everybody away, and you'll get going back to zero.
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
I am you're not sucking me in. Let's move on
to the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:30:22):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna suck yet. Go ahead, now,
talk about a series that's two games to nothing, that's
end in two more games, and we've played two games
in like two weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:30:31):
Let me go ahead and race over to the game
that was eh meh tonight. Good start for the Mavericks.
Drew Holliday was amazing. The Celtics won by seven one,
five ninety eight, and now they're up two games to none.
Kyrie is now zero to twelve since stopping on the
logo a couple of years ago, and it seems like
complete control of this series is in Boston. But again,
(01:30:53):
you pull back a bit, maybe there's a talking point
of conversation about Jason Tatum because only three two games
it's been someone other than him getting done for the Celtics.
You know, might be good news because that's a good
supporting cast around him, But man, it's doesn't seem like
it's necessarily too good of news for how we're talking
about his legacy and what he can be and if
(01:31:15):
he can truly be legacy.
Speaker 5 (01:31:16):
The guys like what twenty six, twenty seven years old.
Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
What legacy the guys about the win his first NBA
championship and probably a lot more to come after this.
So no, it makes no difference whatsoever whether they're one
A or one B or whatever you want to call them.
They're so young in their careers and they've got such
a long way to go there. I think Tatum's gonna
(01:31:41):
be a Hall of Fame or probably the same thing
with Jalen Brown. But no, there's no legacy talk now, okay,
before they won their first championship.
Speaker 4 (01:31:51):
But I will say it's gonna be fascinating if that
trend continues. You know it's gonna start. It already has
and they're up to games tonight. We've already heard people today, well,
you know, Jason Tatum kind of a I don't want
to say, no show, that's unfair, but he hasn't been
the best player on the court, which, again, when you
step back, kind of unfair, unfair, unrealistic expectations to have
(01:32:14):
on someone, right.
Speaker 3 (01:32:15):
He doesn't have to be the best player on the
court when you have Jalen Brown and drew out. He
also steps up every once in a while to chip
on in and it's the same thing with porzingis porzingis
the way, you know what the best plus minus ratio
today on the team.
Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
Who was.
Speaker 5 (01:32:33):
Really plus twelve? Huh.
Speaker 3 (01:32:36):
Nobody else I believe on Boston was double digits.
Speaker 4 (01:32:40):
So O V E R over.
Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
Oh yeah, it's done though, and the ratings will just
plummet and they're gonna go ahead, just wrap this thing up.
I told you the intrigue was just just not there
when this whole thing started. And now with it being
too nothing, now maybe it does change things. Dallas gets
off the mat, wins game number three, depending on how
(01:33:04):
they win, but I think it's going to go back
to Boston.
Speaker 5 (01:33:08):
Of three games the one.
Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
So I actually looked at the rundown. I don't know
if you realize this. I studied it. I was ready
to go, but there was one of your Roman numerals
I couldn't read. And what was it last week two
weeks ago where we got in the big fight about
I couldn't read your handwriting. You said you love.
Speaker 5 (01:33:25):
My penmanship, and you put it on on Twitter.
Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
And neverybody you right. Well, I found that you have
people that do a better job this than I do,
and I don't want to have to bug you and
your pre show meal. I see you eating And I
did get help on Roman Numeral three. Yes, and apparently
according to Let's See Who was First in at Chiefs
seven two, it says something about halftime show.
Speaker 5 (01:33:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:33:51):
Well it says halftime show. Okay, all right, Like I said,
I needed help. One game one was horrible and then
two game two. So that was so tough. That was
so tough to read like that. Yes, I could not
figure out what you wrote. I had to go to Twitter.
Speaker 4 (01:34:11):
To help me.
Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
Really what it's all about, Chris, As we were talking
about this the time, and I one minute in the
first segment, there was a twenty minute segment or a
thirty minute segment, or two segments.
Speaker 5 (01:34:24):
One was twenty, one was thirty.
Speaker 3 (01:34:28):
The only way I can equate it, Chris, is that
sometimes when you run past the segment and you come
back and you know you got like thirty seconds to say, okay,
we're gonna wrap up the show right.
Speaker 5 (01:34:38):
Right, you can't do that on TV.
Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
I don't know what. And it seems like they've got
the only problem with it. It was it's embarrassing when
you're having you can't have a twenty or or thirty
or thirty second segment at halftime of the game. You
have plenty of time to break things down and look
at it logistically, just to do that.
Speaker 5 (01:35:00):
So that was an embarrassment. I can't believe that that.
Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
I can't believe somebody didn't put together a better game
plan for something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:35:08):
You know, So I have an idea I wish we
could buy advertisement. Just hey, Fox Sports Radio, we've got
halftime analysis because I mean we're on twenty four seven,
three sixty five.
Speaker 5 (01:35:21):
Yes, yes, we'll spend.
Speaker 4 (01:35:23):
More time during halftime of an NBA Finals game talking
about it in half a segment than ESPN will in
that fifteen I mean, it's just it's pointless, dude, And
I know what you're talking about. We got to find
a way to make halftime great again because it sucks.
It's literally I get it, it's a bathroom break. Or
you know, in this wild world of technology, maybe some
(01:35:44):
of you get a little buffer built in and you
fast forward past the halftime show. I don't know, but
I remember I want analysis at halftime, Arnie, and I
want someone to you know, even if it was Kenny Smith,
I liked whenever he would go to the the board
and kind of tell you what's going on. I mean, ESPN,
I just I'm getting it's like our show. They're just
(01:36:06):
giving opinions. There's not any basketball stuff, and it's not extensive.
It's just well, I just didn't see that fire. It's like, okay, well,
what were they doing with this player? I just had
my microphone. I got so excited. What were they doing
with this player? Nobody's breaking anything down, and it's just
it's it's a filler between spots man.
Speaker 5 (01:36:22):
Right, right, that's all it is. Watch the nightly news.
Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
When they get to like the last ten minutes of
the news, it's like eight minutes of commercials and one
segment they've been teasing and they get back to it.
They give you thirty segments or thirty seconds, and then
boom they wrap up the show and you're like, oh
my god, that was crazy. That's that's what the NBA
is doing, and that's that's just not acceptable.
Speaker 5 (01:36:47):
Actually, that's what ESPN is doing, right, and that's not acceptable.
Speaker 4 (01:36:51):
I get it's not a major thing, especially for people
at the.
Speaker 5 (01:36:54):
Game wedding though, yeah, but it blew my timelineup.
Speaker 4 (01:36:58):
It blew it up. Not even kid man I don't
try to gauge too much. But when people are universally
complaining about a halftime show, I don't know about you, Arnie,
but I get a kick out of it, and I wonder,
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:37:09):
We got a great, a good halftime show. In the NFL,
they come back, they give you scores. Seems like they
got enough time. They don't rush through it. I mean, yes,
they've got commercials to get to, but we're able to
pull it off in the NFL, and a lot more
is going on.
Speaker 4 (01:37:24):
Yeah, I don't get it. It's not good, all right.
So proud of me. I figured out what it's said
and I didn't have to bug you about it.
Speaker 5 (01:37:30):
Yeah. I can't believe you can't read my penmanship.
Speaker 4 (01:37:33):
I know, right, what's wrong with me? All right? So
Boston wins tonight. They're up two games to none. When
we come back, we'll hear from Christap Porzingis. Let's see,
we got Drew Holliday, Jason Kid, Jalen Brown, and Jason Tatum.
After the Celtic swin. You'll hear from the stars next
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's Arnie and Plank
here on Fox Sports Radio. Celtic swin game two over
(01:37:56):
the Mavericks one oh five ninety eight. They're up to
games to none. Game three is Wednesday. I believe we
did that. I think a week for Wednesday. Darren Waller
announced it he is retiring as well. Hey, by the way,
Patrick and Mary have something cooked up for you. Arnie.
I don't know if you are aware of this. No,
I'm not were you? Were you not aware that? I
(01:38:19):
guess maybe I missed this last week, but or maybe
I didn't miss anything. Patrick, You're there, you're the captain
of this ship.
Speaker 6 (01:38:27):
I'm I mean like you.
Speaker 12 (01:38:31):
Oh no, Arnie remembers basically, this is just what happens
when you're gone, and he let Arnie like take the ship.
Speaker 6 (01:38:39):
Way before you before you do play Mary, just to
kind of kind of at least paint the picture for
Plank here what's going down without us really spoiling much
of it. What Arnie's doing here is he's actually going
out of the end of the hour, not the last hour,
not power hour, but we're going into power just to
kind of give you, like, all right, here's what we're going,
(01:38:59):
like to give you this a lot, right, right?
Speaker 4 (01:39:02):
But did you screw it up?
Speaker 6 (01:39:03):
Like this Mary Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:39:10):
Wait for it.
Speaker 5 (01:39:12):
Oh, I still, I got a whole.
Speaker 12 (01:39:17):
Well the second show, what I literally said two minutes
and I hear you say while you're closing out the show.
Speaker 5 (01:39:24):
Really you're like, boy, really fast.
Speaker 10 (01:39:28):
This is the problem for somebody who doesn't even know
his producer's name and it's proud of it, thinks he
can be the producer.
Speaker 5 (01:39:34):
And he calls me a worthless producers.
Speaker 4 (01:39:36):
Still, I knew I.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
Heard somebody in my ear going, no, you got another minute,
But I'm like that can't be a producer.
Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
We don't have one.
Speaker 10 (01:39:43):
I don't understand, especially seconds left right, yeah, thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:39:48):
Yeah, keep going, Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Like I screwed that one up, and usually Plague screws
it up.
Speaker 4 (01:39:54):
Don't quit your date, ja man, the thing you won
the game because you shoes? What is the radio game? Chris?
Come back? All right?
Speaker 5 (01:40:03):
What did we come back? In my defense? In my defense, Chris,
you do that all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:40:10):
I'm very guilty. But I did do it too. When
we had a week date filling, I tried to throw
it to the top of the hour when we had
a trending update. So I'm guilty. Of this, but that
is pretty funny.
Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
It was so good because like, so, what's funny is
my friend?
Speaker 5 (01:40:24):
They love it so much that my first mistake year,
but like, it's.
Speaker 4 (01:40:28):
Funny even was everybody jumped on it.
Speaker 5 (01:40:34):
Everybody was great.
Speaker 6 (01:40:35):
Well because like so Mary literally just from at least
my vantage point, Mary like on talkback, went into like,
you know, two minutes of course that she usually does
with you guys all the time. As she goes two minutes,
not like maybe two seconds after she had just told
Arnie wasn't like he was caught in the middle of it.
Speaker 4 (01:40:52):
He heard and then.
Speaker 6 (01:40:53):
Goes all right, power hour next, like you know, all
that stuff, and everybody's waiting, and then he goes during
the segment.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Too, oh, you know, I gotta tell you to see
I gotta pull the pull back the curt But they
don't understand, is Chris. When they're talking to you with
the countdown, I can't hear it. I can't hear anything.
It cuts me off, so I can't hear you, I
can't hear them.
Speaker 5 (01:41:16):
I'm done.
Speaker 3 (01:41:17):
The show is done for me because they're they're cutting
something off from my mind.
Speaker 12 (01:41:21):
But for one second, I just I literally said two
minutes for one second and then you just close it
out and.
Speaker 6 (01:41:28):
It was like a good five second of processing her
saying that too. It's not like it was instantly what
and then you did the Power Hour?
Speaker 4 (01:41:35):
It was you went first time.
Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
In my life, okay, in my life?
Speaker 6 (01:41:39):
And it boy, how do he was that a memorable one?
Speaker 5 (01:41:43):
Exactly? You've been waiting for me to make a mistake.
Hymart's laugh was perfect.
Speaker 4 (01:41:47):
But yeah, yeah, pretty good timing. Driving isn't easy. It's hard.
You gotta keep your eyes on the road. You gotta
stay sober during the show. That's hard.
Speaker 5 (01:41:58):
I mean, why, that's why you to do it all
the time. And I handed it over to you.
Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
That's right, You're like, I just want to enjoy the
I don't want to drive anymore. These time cues and.
Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
I got at the time. I got to see what
they're saying. Next, I got to pay attention to what
Jason Martin is saying.
Speaker 5 (01:42:15):
I gotta hear Mary.
Speaker 3 (01:42:16):
Cut my mic off when Mary tells me two minutes,
I can't hear what Jason Martin is saying. It was
so this aker was on, well, I can't hear what
anybody is saying.
Speaker 6 (01:42:27):
Fair it was actually during when Steve was doing his
uh is this segment? So she got into Arnie's ear,
Like to everybody him.
Speaker 3 (01:42:40):
He doesn't know what I have to go through. It's
the sabotage on my own show. I got to go
through this.
Speaker 4 (01:42:49):
It wasn't that day man. Yeah, thought he fought through
it though. I bet, I bet it didn't slow you down, though,
did it?
Speaker 6 (01:42:55):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:42:56):
No, no, no, I just blamed somebody. The next he blamed.
Speaker 6 (01:42:58):
He blamed you blank, meaning it was playing all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:43:03):
He went straight to you.
Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
Well, I mean that's fine. I can wear it. It's
it's I can wear it. The funniest thing is it.
I don't think he trusts me still to get us
to break or to wrap something up.
Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Break, Let's wrap it up, or I'll text Chris wrapping
up big gun.
Speaker 5 (01:43:19):
Come on, because I can't trust.
Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
I can't the clock either.
Speaker 5 (01:43:24):
I can't trust Mary.
Speaker 4 (01:43:25):
I'll tell her to whoa whoa whoa exactly? All right, Well,
speaking of the crew in l A great job, good fine,
I appreciate you. I want to make sure that I'm
somewhat missed and then getting blamed for Arnie's mistakes even
while I'm gone That makes me feel really good, as
it will make you feel good to hear an update
from the sager with what's going on?
Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
Steve, I don't trust the saga. That's why I give
him the scores.
Speaker 10 (01:43:47):
Did you notice that when Arnie did something wrong? Literally,
it took him about fifteen seconds to blame everybody else
on the show by.
Speaker 5 (01:43:54):
Name new record, Wow, new record. Here's your team, right,
everybody look at it in blame Scott Shapiro and Don
Martin for it.
Speaker 4 (01:44:03):
Really, if you really have fingers out to point on
that one, well done.
Speaker 10 (01:44:06):
If you've broken like two minutes before, I'm sure you
would have gotten to them. At College Baseball Super Regionals.
By the way, these are best of three weekend series.
We still have one more to go tomorrow when Georgia
hosts NC State winner goes to the College World Series.
The other matchups are set. It's Florida against Texas A
and M. Florida in thirteen innings eliminated Clemson eleven to ten. Today,
(01:44:29):
Number one Tennessee advance, Number two rank Kentucky one. Tonight
Number three Texas A and M advanced. FSU against Tennessee
is going to be a first round matchup, and already
after yesterday's wins Virginia versus North Carolina that Georgia series.
Georgia at home lost its opener Saturday eighteen to one,
but did beat NC State today eleven to two to
(01:44:50):
force a Game three of the best of three. As
for the NBA Finals, Game three will be at Dallas
on Wednesday nights, and Boston's leading the series two games
t none. You know, the Celtics were not only the
one seed in the East, they went sixty four and
eighteen and now in the playoffs they're fourteen and two
and they're undefeated on the road this postseason, just for
(01:45:12):
the record, so there's that. The Mavericks had been on
the road seven and two this postseason, but they just
lost the two games in Boston to start this series.
And Luka Doncic, although he had a triple double including
eleven assists, he had eight turnovers as well, and on
free throws he was just four of eight Boston on
free throws nineteen of twenty. As a team, they win
(01:45:33):
one oh five ninety eight. Drew Holliday with twenty six
points no turnovers. Jason Tatum was six of twenty two
shooting from the floor. He finished with eighteen points, nine rebounds,
twelve assists. Boston shoots a lot of threes. They started
five of thirty from long distance.
Speaker 4 (01:45:50):
It didn't matter.
Speaker 10 (01:45:51):
They can still outscore you from three point range, and
their free throw shooting was just that much better tonight
as well. In the WNBA late game, La at home
upset Las Vegas ninety six ninety two, Minnesota beat Seattle,
Phoenix won at Dallas ninety seven to ninety Britney Griner
twenty four points, and New York defeated Ohen twelve. Washington
today ninety three eighty eight. Tomorrow it's Indiana at Connecticut,
(01:46:13):
which is now nine to one. Stanley Cup Game two
is tomorrow night, Edmonton at Florida. Panthers took the opener
last night three nothing. Carlos Alcarez won the French Open
in five sets, six to two in the fifth against
number four seed Alexander Zavera, the guy who beat Rafael
in Nadol first round. This match today lasted nearly four
and a half hours in Paris. Alcarez in the Semis
(01:46:34):
had won in five sets, beating the new number one
Yonick Center American Cocoa golf. When the women's doubles final today,
Scotti Scheffler took the Memorial, his fifth victory of the
golf season already. He led by four strokes to start
the day. He shot a final round seventy four to
make it interesting. Colin Morikawa finished second. This is what
they call a signature event more prize money on the
(01:46:55):
PGA Tour. I might have something to do with live
golf offering so much more. I don't want to step
out of bounds here, but it might have something to
do with that. So the second place guy second place
got two point two million dollars today for four days
of golf. Scotty Scheffler earns four million dollars for winning
this event today, So for the year he's over twenty
(01:47:16):
four million dollars in on the course earnings, which already
breaks his record for a full season. The guys finished
top ten and eleven straight tournaments, and the US Open
is this week. John Rahm withdrew from the live Golf
event in Houston yesterday with a foot infection. The winner
of that event was Carlos Ortiz by one stroke. And yes,
every live golf winner gets four million dollars plus any
(01:47:39):
team earnings for their three day weekend. What a comeback
in the LPGA winner from Sweden Linnea Strom. She shot
a final round sixty to win. She overcame a seven
shot deficit. She started the day tied for fifty second
and still won the tournament by far, the biggest comeback
by position on that tour since nineteen to eighty four.
Tight end Aaron Waller told the Giants he is retiring
(01:48:02):
the UFL Football Conference Finals, where this weekend Birmingham came
back to win yesterday San Antonio with the upset win
at Saint Louis in front of about thirty thousand fans
tonight on Fox TV twenty five to fifteen. So a
team coach by Wade Phillips is going to the final.
Speaker 5 (01:48:18):
Yeah, Wade, I love it.
Speaker 10 (01:48:20):
Fifty years plus as coach.
Speaker 5 (01:48:21):
He loves me, that guy.
Speaker 10 (01:48:23):
Okay, we'll all have to trust you on that.
Speaker 3 (01:48:26):
He called my show and my knucklehead producer hung up
the phone on him twice before he finally got through
to me.
Speaker 10 (01:48:34):
Well that's not gonna be topped, perhaps, but it does
remind me of the story here when for some reason
Katy Perry was on the show with Steve Hartman, and
he accidentally punched the wrong button and hung up on her.
Speaker 5 (01:48:46):
Oh, yes he did. Did he get her back on?
Speaker 4 (01:48:50):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:48:50):
Yes, good, good, yes.
Speaker 10 (01:48:52):
Because she did.
Speaker 4 (01:48:52):
Note you hung up on me.
Speaker 10 (01:48:54):
NASCAR victory for Kyle Larson at Sonoma his third victory
of the year and he has the points lead now.
The baseball game for MLB in London went to the
Mets six ' five over Philadelphia with three runs top
of the night. The ten ands fifty five thousand Angels
homered in the ninth to beat Houston. There were four
ten inning games and the road team won all four
of them. Toronto six to four at Oakland and ten
(01:49:16):
Seattle six to five at Kansas City, Minnesota, with seven
runs in the top of the tenth, one at Pittsburgh
eleven to five, and Boston was a ten inning winner
at the White Sox six to four. The window closer
Kenley Jansen, who threw two scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
The losing reliever for the White Sox, Michael Soroka, is
oho and seven. That's pretty good Era over six. The
(01:49:37):
White Sox record is seventeen and forty nine This year.
Sunday night game to the Yankees over the Dodgers six
to four. Aaron Judge is twenty fourth homer, and Wan
Soda was out again with the Sore Forum.
Speaker 4 (01:49:48):
Back to you, thanks, Steve. I have a great week,
man Lands Steve, interesting mix with our tweets Right now, Arnie,
I want to read We're getting a lot, we got
a lot, we got a lot. But this made me laugh. Arnie,
don't let him suck you into talking about the boring
NBA Finals and those forced topics. Caitlin Clark is the
(01:50:10):
number one topic in all of sports. Plank. Nobody wants
to hear NBA talk, Plank. Do your job, talk Caitlyn Clark.
Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
That's true, do your job and talk Caitlyn Clark. She's
the number one thing going on. She's the number one
trending topic in all of sports, and she might be
number top three and everything out there. There's just so
much going on with her that people have an opinion,
all kinds of opinions on her, and she's polarizing.
Speaker 5 (01:50:39):
I love it, and it bothers.
Speaker 3 (01:50:42):
Me about some of the stuff that's being said about her.
Bothers me about some of the stuff that's being said
about her supporters and I'll tell you what really set
me off, Chris. I brought thisaster today is when Angel
Reeves put out that tweet about that guy that supposedly
called them ghetto blanks, and there's been no proof of
that going on.
Speaker 5 (01:51:02):
Because if there was proof.
Speaker 3 (01:51:03):
Of that happening, the w NBA should have done something
about it. We should have found that guy not hard
to find, agree and punished him. But we didn't do
it because I don't believe that ever happened. There's a
lot going on in this, in this whole Caitlin Clark
WNBA USA Women's team saga.
Speaker 4 (01:51:22):
It's like a Bermuda triangle. Yes, exactbody's not coming out.
And then Darryl writes, you are not the problem. Plank.
People are cheap and your partner is one of them.
Don't do it. There are enough morons discussing this. Ask
Carnie how many WNBA games he's watched before this? Now
he's a massive fan, it's moronic. Just let her play.
(01:51:45):
I don't think you're trying to claim to be a
massive fan.
Speaker 3 (01:51:47):
So I did a couple of promotions out in New
York with the WNBA, but I wasn't a massive fan though,
I do have to tell you all the girls that
they talk about in the WNBA, I knew them, not
from the WNBA, of course, but from college. Chris so
I was a fan of women's college basketball at the time,
So I felt like I didn't pay attention at all.
(01:52:09):
I know all those names from the girls in college,
not so much the WNBA.
Speaker 4 (01:52:15):
Same same right now, But it's I can't argue, I
can't fight you. There's no doubt. It's what everyone wants
to talk about. Now you add this angle that really
just developed what over the last twenty four hours.
Speaker 5 (01:52:29):
Right, Well, we got on last night and oh my case.
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Oh if you would have seen I mean if going
on last night, maybe that was part of the problem.
Also because we were right there in the thick of things.
It was just like a big storm leading up to
leading up to us because there was no game too
yet we're you know, there was nothing really to break
on down and this whole thing was breaking in front
(01:52:55):
of us, and people came out with strong opinions, why
isn't she on the team, Well, because she's not one
of the top twelve. Well she is one of the
top twelve, has better stats than Tarassei, what about the alternates.
How come there's two girls that I haven't even played
pretty much in the WNBA this year that are on
the team. Well, what about the girl that leads a
(01:53:16):
WNBA in scoring that didn't get on the team. So
many different ways to look at it, and everybody, everybody
had an opinion on it.
Speaker 4 (01:53:24):
Two others on the Dan Hurley topic. This from Lawrence
the Dan Hurley News reeks of salary negotiations and leverage
between Dan Hurley and Yukon. Why would he have any
interest in moving to LA makes absolutely zero sense.
Speaker 3 (01:53:39):
You know, Chris, just to be the older And I
said this last night. If we're reading into everything, you
know you like to do this sometimes. Also, he went
to the Billy Joe concert and was having a good time.
If you were about to go to move to LA
to take a new job, I don't think I can
go to the Billy Joe concert and have a good time.
I want to go home and say, okay, let's start
(01:54:00):
the packing and you got to get the kids in
the school, and you got to do this, and you
got to pack that, and let's go upstairs. That I
know you don't start doing it now, and you have
people helping you.
Speaker 5 (01:54:10):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
If I go to the Billy Joe concert and I
have a good time on that, I just don't think
that he's going. I think that would have been leaked
out earlier, and I think that he wouldn't have done
his team like that. I think that he would have
kind of leaked it to his team. Also, maybe I'm
I'm overthinking it, but that's the way I see it
(01:54:33):
right now.
Speaker 4 (01:54:34):
And then Colin writes, as a very casual basketball follower,
I have to ask if the Hurley the Lakers is
just a way for him to get a bigger, longer
contract extension with Yukon or more likely going to the
stinking genius route and taking the risk of a free
NBA cash grab then go back to the NCAA. Oh
my goodness, If Dan Hurley goes to the Lakers and
(01:54:57):
stumbles and doesn't win, he'll have pick of college jobs, right,
Billy Donovan still might? I mean they were talking about
Billy Donovan to Kentucky. Yeah, but had a stellar.
Speaker 3 (01:55:07):
Career, talk about hurting legacy. Does that hurt him at all?
Do people say, no, we knew it wasn't gonna work
because oh, Lebron and Bronny and all that bologna.
Speaker 4 (01:55:15):
You know, I don't think it hurts it, especially if
he goes back to college and wins. Right, if he
goes back like Nick Saban did won at LSU Miami,
you know, five hundred team right back to the college rinks.
Maybe one of the greatest dynasties at college football, right,
I mean, so, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:55:33):
He's not going to win a championship, Let's be honest.
In the NBA, so you know, let's just take it
for what that's worth. He could probably be first to
round and out for all we know in the NBA.
Speaker 4 (01:55:48):
I know we got a break, but what does it
say about Lebron? And again this is all from Afar,
but you would think any coach in the world, if
you were to tell them, hey, guess what, you're gonna
get to coach the greatest player in the game right now,
any coach back I'm in Why does it seem like
we're so resilient for someone to want to be in
(01:56:11):
on that. What is at the end of his career,
only a couple of years left of his greatness?
Speaker 5 (01:56:16):
Right right?
Speaker 11 (01:56:16):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:56:17):
If he was at the early part of his career,
then maybe it'd be well though Coach K turned it down,
didn't he But he wasn't on the Lakers at that time,
and Coach K was looking at it.
Speaker 4 (01:56:27):
You know, well, I love talking about it, but it's
going to be fascinating to see what his decision is
and how quickly it's made. Tomorrow, Arnie's Picks are coming
up next on Fox Sports Radio. All right, we got
to hustle my bad running out of time. Great job Mary,
(01:56:47):
great job guys, the entire crew, Patrick the Sager, the
millions and millions of editors behind the scenes putting together
audio for this show. Hopefully, hopefully I'll have time to
play couple. But listen, we got to get to what
you all came for. It's time for Arnie's Picks. Take
it away, stinking genius.
Speaker 3 (01:57:07):
It says a lot I got to get to, so
let me get right at it. I think the MAVs
take Game three, so that makes it two games to one,
but the Celtics come back taint game four, and then
they ended in Boston in Game five, they winn in
four games to one. The Panthers will go ahead and
Windy Stanley Cup and Caitlin Clark will go ahead and.
Speaker 5 (01:57:27):
Find her way onto the Olympic team.
Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
She'll be an alternate and then somebody will be out
because of an injury and she'll get on the team.
I do owe my partner Chris Plank, along with Mary
and Patrick and my audience today a little bit of
an apology. Oh, I have a tweet here that I
got an hour number one. Remember an hour number one
(01:57:50):
when you were beating me up about the whole day
of the hurly thing.
Speaker 5 (01:57:54):
Yeah, in the first segment.
Speaker 4 (01:57:55):
M hm.
Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
The tweet says, I see some of Arnie's points. Of
the points Aren'tie is making. He's just not verbalizing it
very well. He's verbalizing it badly, is what it says.
He's absolutely right, because if you go back no, no,
I'm being honest. I'm pulling back there. If you go
it's my wife's birthday, okay. And we had some birthday cake,
(01:58:20):
and then I went ahead and had my pregame dessert,
and then and then I had a couple of chocolate
chip cookies.
Speaker 5 (01:58:27):
And as as I'm coming on the air today, everything's fine.
I'm ready to roll. And as you start the show,
I start getting the cold sweats. What if you go back.
Speaker 3 (01:58:39):
And listen to hour number one. I'm only answering. I'm
only answering you with two or three word answers. And
I'm turning down the sound and throwing up in a
bucket and then coming back turning it up, going yeah, Chris,
he's gonna stay with Connecticut, turning down the sound, throwing
(01:59:00):
up in the bucket, and then turning it back up.
Speaker 4 (01:59:02):
And you give me a head up.
Speaker 5 (01:59:04):
Oh my god, the whole first hour. So now you
learned your lesson. You're not gonna eat like I create
like a five year old. Go back and listen to
the first hour.
Speaker 6 (01:59:15):
I'm actually gonna go back and listen now, especially the.
Speaker 3 (01:59:18):
First especially the first segment. I am so drenched. You
would have thought I came out of a swimming pool.
I didn't think I was gonna make it. I'm like,
I'm not gonna make it.
Speaker 4 (01:59:27):
Was it was it too much sugar?
Speaker 12 (01:59:30):
It must have been, boy, Yeah, I was.
Speaker 5 (01:59:34):
I was shaking eat chocolate, chimps and cake, and I was, Chris,
I was shaky. I don't bad. That reminds me of
day I know, right right, you lack self control.
Speaker 4 (01:59:46):
I do bad.
Speaker 5 (01:59:47):
I'm like a golden retriever.
Speaker 3 (01:59:49):
I just eat it, Norlanka, three year old, I am,
I don't have a bad I was started to shake
so bad and get carried over until the second hour
and I'm like, okay, Hot Furman's on. I'm just gonna
turn my mic off a little bit and just lay
down for a second.
Speaker 5 (02:00:05):
I was so just out of it and I walked on.
Speaker 3 (02:00:10):
But but listen to the first segment, especially, but the
first hour. I'll say a few things and then immediately
just turned down my mic and.
Speaker 5 (02:00:19):
I must have thrown up like seven or eight times.
She needs to put a lock on the fridge. I
think she's any to put a lock, and nobody can
help me.
Speaker 3 (02:00:28):
So I have a bucket that I got to take
upstairs when the show's over, and it does.
Speaker 4 (02:00:35):
Think that there you go. I will say, yeah, I
did want to text at some point or text you
and be like, hey, are you okay? Because you were
in like things that you would want to fight about.
You're like, yeah, yeah, whatever.
Speaker 6 (02:00:47):
I'm like, he was noticeably a little quiet talk back
like that. Now that I'm thinking about it, like that
does actually kind of make sense.
Speaker 5 (02:00:55):
Now I wasn't even listening, so I would.
Speaker 4 (02:00:58):
Care less.
Speaker 3 (02:01:00):
Well.
Speaker 4 (02:01:00):
I'm glad you're Are you good now? Are you gonna
be okay?
Speaker 3 (02:01:03):
I feel a little bit better, Gonna go upstairs and
go to bed and get a little tea and stuff.
Speaker 4 (02:01:07):
So, my gosh, you've passed a kidney stone after the
show and now you're fighting through probably too much sugar.
Glad you're well, Arnie. Big Ben is next.
