Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
No, let's go, stinking yes, go big boy, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Honestly, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (00:09):
Nonetheless, man, this will be like the last I got
one more, say Scott if you need me next Saturday,
I got one more. And then it gets crazy, aren't he?
It gets crazy? You realize, why what do you got going?
College football starts in two weeks, that's right, And I.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Can't even complain about a lousy week zero. It's it's
actually not that bad.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Are you being serious?

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Like you're actually excited about Iowa State, Kansas State, about
Kansas and Fresno State, Hawaiian Stanford.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
No, but compared to the last couple of years, it's
been real lousy. I think there's what four games that
are pretty decent in Week one or whatever it is,
whatever we want to call it this year.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Well, okay, hold on, I think you're Ohio State. That's
not a week zero though, that's in everything is considered
week one now. So that's here's the problem.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
And this has already made me confused seconds.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
It's so dumb, and I'll and I'll tell you why.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Just for some reason, high school football in Texas does
Week zero zero week, whichever way, I've always for some
reason it said zero week and is stuck in my head.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
But it's week zero and week zero are always just
awesome matchups.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
So then it like infiltrated across the high school football
world and about oh, I don't know, maybe.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Like six years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
And there's been some of these games in college football historically,
but but about six years ago, college football powers would
be said, hey, we can make some more money if
we add you know, an early TV window, right, maybe
do a week zero and they and Miami and Florida
played that. Here was a terrible game. I think Fleet
Bay Franks got sacked like twenty times in the game.
And since then the NFL has done a Week zero

(01:43):
game and usually the matchups are terrible.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
But last week, do you remember what happened in Week zero?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Last week? No testing your trivia right now? Do you
remember what happened in Week zero?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Last week? All? Right?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Last year?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
I'm sorry, sure, yeah, you really get okay? Well, last
year you don't remember what happened in Week zero?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
I didn't even watch it.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
It was in Ireland and Florida State got the Georgia
Tech Florida State, right, and Georgia Tech got them, then
all of a sudden, their whole season imploded.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
So that made Week zero a little bit more interesting
last year.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
But college football for some reason said, oh no, no, guys,
we're not going to call this.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Week zero anymore. Everything is week one. So are those
those four games I mentioned that's not part of opening week?
Let's just say that, or they are part of opening week?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Oh, they're part of the regular opening week.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Okay, okay, but.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
They're not part of the first weekend of college and
then I'll go back to complaining. How about that. I
was already say, I'm like shocked. I'm like, wait, you're
not complaining about that schedule.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
If I don't get Texas, you can play about Texas
Ohio State, but.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
You would find a way. You would find a way.

Speaker 4 (02:47):
I mean, listen, it's there's so many good games the
opening weekend of college football, but you've got to really
be a diehard. That very first full weekend of college
football is incredible, maybe one of the better first full
weekends we've had.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
But I get it.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
I just I literally almost fell over in my seat
when you were telling me how excited you were for
Kansas Iowa State, which will be followed by I'm sorry,
Kansas State, Iowa State, followed by Kansas and Fresno State,
followed later that evening by Stanford and Hawaii.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah, no, no, I'm not. I'm not big on that either.
I'm not by the way. I am bummed out though,
because I take everything you know literally. You know that
right every time.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I haven't noticed that working with you for the last
ten years.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Every bit of news and the way the news came
out from the Bears Dolphins practice we're going on seventeen,
it's obvious. Yeah, I noticed that.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
It really affected the way that you were projecting the
Dolphins to be this year. When the Roman Numeral rundown
had you picking them to go thirteen and four.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
I had to put that. I did knock that out
of my mind. That was that was killing me. The
Bears are crushing the Dolphins, are killing them in this
practice and destroying them. I'm like, what's going on here,
what's happening? You're ruining my afternoon. It was killing So
let me get this right.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Just because you're my guy, you didn't allow factual information
to persuade the way that you're thinking.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Because then I got some in front. Somebody said that
really what the Bears were doing were against the rules.
They were cheating, They're being way too physical, so uh,
stuff that wouldn't be allowed in a game. So I
didn't I didn't take it too seriously. So let me
get this right again.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
You're complaining about the Bears being too physical with your
Dolphins in a practice.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
That's what you're gonna stand on. That's what you're tintes in.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Don't make me, don't make me feel bad going into
this chair. I get bye. I was looking at the
schedule again, just to double check, to make sure wrongday listeners.
Just just why it is. It is the easiest schedule
I think in the history of the NFL. Seriously, I
was looking at it, and.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
You're not even favored in your first game.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And you know what the funny part is, we have
like four games in a row at home right in
like the prime part of our schedule, like week nine, ten, eleven, twelve,
for like, we don't have to leave the whole damn state.
It's like just set up at our favorites. Disgusting, Yeah, yeah,
how unfair.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
I think most people now, based on what we're hearing
from these practices are kind of licking their chops to
get an opportunity to play the Dolphins right now, and
for somebody that knee jerks unlike anyone else, because for
those that don't get a chance to listen on Sunday night,
Arnie and I, I guess you could say either depending
on how you look at things. Either put a rap
on the full Sunday of football and the full weekend

(05:27):
that it was, or in addition to doing that, jump
start your week. I know that's the way you like
to look at it every Sunday night from ten p
to one A Central Time, eleven p to two A Eastern.
But Arnie is somebody who puts way too much emphasis
on preseason games. I figured with all the reports about
how terrible the joint practices have gone between the Dolphins
and the Bears, and then seeing what New England looked

(05:50):
like yesterday, I figured that it would be shaken in
your boots right now.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, scared look at New England, but you know they
got freak things. Touched the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
That was good.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
That's not happening in the regular season. All that, but
put that behind us, go ahead and fall into the trap. Chris.
You you do it every year?

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Every year year?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Do you fall into the trap? About it? Who's good
at the preseason? Right? Oh, they're gonna be good. They're
gonna be good. You don't know how to watch the preseason, Chris,
You really don't. You need to, you know, call me
up and ask me questions. If you have questions.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Well, I will say congratulations on finally getting a pick
right after going about oho for five with your three
and oh start.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Well, I mean one game didn't campus and didn't go.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Here's my question that I have for you.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
We're saving all your pick stuff for Sunday night because
this is a new slot we got. We gotta come
with the I mean especially after I mean g or
Steve Hartman basically given the shine of the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I was blown away by that. They know it's so
funny though, he said, chucked me into it. They're like,
they're gonna go to the super Bowl. Then he talked
me into it, and BJ's like, well how many wind
you think to He goes, oh, they could have as
many as ten. I'm like, wait a minute, they're going
to the super Bowl, but then they could have ten
wins they're gonna win the division with with ten wins.
Wait to going out on the limb there. They're gonna
go to the super Bowl, though I have more than

(07:05):
then eight wins. How about that? Eh, come on, Hartman,
you're better than that. What does that mean? Ten wins?
I mean, if you think they'll go to the super Bowl,
say they're gonna have thirteen wins, fourteen wins, I have
some guts stand behind it.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Come on, then I probably get you into the playoffs. Yeah,
I know.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Not if you're gonna win the division. He said they're
gonna You know, no team's repeated in twenty years. He's
making his games for the Cowboys. Better have more than
ten wins. If you think you're gonna win that division.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Who let's see, do you remember who won the super
Bowl in twenty twenty three?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Why? What with what record? What did I miss out on?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
The Kansas City Chiefs?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Right?

Speaker 3 (07:42):
You know they only won eleven games during the regular season.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Now you're telling me the Cowboys or the Kansas City Chiefs.
Doc Bescott's and Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yeah, that's exactly what I was just saying.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
What I was saying is I think you're losing your
mind by having to say you need to be a
fourteen or thirteen win team to go to the Super Bowl.
I don't think that's the case at all. I think that
they can get it done. Man, I'm Steve Hartman. Changed
my mind.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I think the Cowboys might be damn good. I'd picked
the Cowboys last year. You know, I'm always a year
are else, So I was I was gonna pick the
Cowboys this year. I don't need you guys, judge. That's
why you guys are jumping on the bandwagon.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Well, we've got a lot of action to keep tabs on,
profets on the updates. Bre He's gonna jump in in
hours two and three, and we've I've got all the
TVs going right now. I'm getting the Cowboys or Rams
game here locally, so I'm gonna watch it.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I don't have that one on.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
I I'm just because a local affiliate picked it up.
And then I've got the Jets and the Packers, which
is just underway.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
I got that one too. Yeah, I got that one on.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
But anything kind of really jump out at you. Let's
let's save all the shador talks.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
There's a lot of a lot of good young quarterbacks
that played well in this opening preseason week.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
You know, do you want to stick to today or do
you want to go in depth on everything that you've seen.
Let's just stick to in this opening segment today because
we currently we now have one, two, three, We got
five games going on live. In about twenty minutes from now,
we'll out of six because the Broncos and the Niners
will be in action. And let's see, the Rams are

(09:12):
up fourteen to three on the Cowboys. Dallas has the
football with about eight minutes to go in the first half,
so we'll keep tabs on that. But let's talk about
the two games that went final. I mean, JJ McCarthy
got a couple of drives, looked okay. The Vikings, though
you mentioned some of those young quarterbacks. Graham Mertz for
the Texans probably should not be allowed to throw a
football again.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Holy smokes, Houston, what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Man?

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Graham Mertz was seven for fourteen today, Arenie, and he
threw three interceptions and I'm here to tell you right
now none of them were close at all. I mean,
it was terrible. Meanwhile, the Vikings launch out this dude
wear number twelve that looks like a Paxton Lynch like doppelganger.
And his name is Max Prosmer and he's lighting us.
I saw him, just see him down the.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Street shit and he was moving the evy looked good
and he didn't get him in on the third down,
but got him in on the fourth down. Yeah, I'm like, yeah,
he's looking pretty good. Man. There was some young quarterbacks
that put up some big numbers out there, but I
got a lot of people, a lot of people to
put into the new preseason Hall of Fame for sure.

Speaker 4 (10:15):
Are you doing induction ceremonies tonight or do you want
to wait that tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (10:18):
We can do that tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Well I'm saying, I'm saying, I've got I've got our
two segment two open. If you want to have the
ceremony next hour, we can leave that up to our producer,
Ian Roddy. But impressive look for the Minnesota Vikings. And
then I thought, again, you know, I'm trying to stay level.
I'm trying not to get too carried away with anything.
But I thought, as a whole, not just the quarterbacks,

(10:40):
but as a whole, I thought the Giants looked pretty
serviceable today. I thought that was, and I ended up
watching that whole game because it was the only thing
that was on. But Jackson Dart looked pretty good, I think,
all all but Russell Wilson threw a touchdown for the
Giants quarterbacks and Wilson was six of seven.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
I just I thought the Giant as a whole look good,
and I thought it was a pretty good debut for
Jackson Dart.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Today, what did you think of your Las Vegas Raiders?
I thought we were focusing on today. No, well, I
was just kind of curious, but you know, I didn't
know you were just gonna keep it strictly today. I
thought you may be talking about the games earlier, but
I'm just kind of curious what you thought about your
Raiders and if you were excited or they were getting
clabbered early in that game. And I'm like, yeah, I
wish I was calling plank now. But I love Joe

(11:23):
and I didn't know. Oh, no, Matt.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
I was busy trying to charge an electric car because
I decided an electric car is what to take on
a road trip, which was the dumbest thing I've ever
done in my entire life. And though in the bible
belt man. We only have a lot of electric chargers
around here, Arnie Spaniards, So when you're running at about ten percent,
you're in big trouble. I've rewatched the game twice. I
really have just kind of waiting for other games, and

(11:47):
I have watched snippets, and I mean, I feel good.
It didn't look like it's supposed to be. But it
was a three season game, iretyl you about that.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
I would feel absolutely good. I thought, Ashon gent and
then me out up all the yards on that? Can
you get like three? Anybody have a calculator for me?

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Negative one?

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Oh? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Negative. I'm sorry, but I think I can see.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
I could see why you're feeling good about him.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
This is the same man who's trying to talk trash
on Ashton Jenty.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Basically did you see basically is.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
That everyone clowning his team all week long and it's
like you're riding back only one yard?

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Did you see twitter? After that game? They were just
clowning him like it was just it was just crazy.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
There was no I didn't what why because he didn't
have a good first quarter of a preseason game?

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Is that it?

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (12:34):
But then again, what am I talking about we put
Shador Sanders in the Hall of Fame last night, and
I hall of Fame riding, not the preseason Hall of Fame.
I again, I felt I felt pretty good coming away
from the Raiders. It looked a little bit better than
I kind of thought that it might. And Gino Smith
looked good. Guys couldn't catch balls. If receiver catches a
screen pass, they probably go score on their first drive.

(12:56):
But yeah, I mean that first series.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
First falling, falling to that traffic at Arji, like, you
got hope, you got expectations. You're talking yourself into a
good year. Next thing, you know, you start off oh
and five and yeah, you don't even have to wait
till you're own five. You're owing three and then they'll
start crying.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Well, I mean to be honest with you, haven't hurt
so many times before. I'm kind of used to it.
But I don't really know if you're the person to
be giving lessons on how not to get to over
the top hopeful about it.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
You reason I could talk now, Chris, is because I
know that the Dolphins are gonna have a big year.
I already know because I've seen I know how to read.
That's part of the prerequisite for the job. Here. Congrats
and thank you, and I know how to read a schedule,
and it is disgustingly so easy. I think the NFL
just said, hey, we feel bad for the Dolphins. We've
got to give them perhaps easiest schedule in the history

(13:47):
of the NFL. And really, let's make sure later on
in the year they don't have to leave the state.
Let's really work it in there. That's exactly what they did.
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
So is this kind of along the lines of what
let me see here what roman numeral number eleven is
all about. I believe it's number eleven. The one hundred percent, yeah,
one hundred percent. Three things that you're gonna guarantee will
happen in the I can tell.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
You I could. I could promise you one thing out
of the three things that I'm one hundred percent sure
that will happen. I'll tell you one thing that will
be The Indianapolis Colts are the worst team in the NFL.
They are horrible, horrible, absolutely horrible. They're going to be
the worst team. I could tell you that one hundred
with absolutely one hundred percent certainty. They are the worst

(14:33):
team in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
You know, the Saints are in the NFL too, and
I see what they have starting a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Look at you, Look at you.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
I'm just asking. I mean, you're one. You're guaranteeing these things, right, audience.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
If people turn to us to have like solid information
on this and you're now guaranteeing that a team who,
as as we sit here right now, is the betting
favorite over your Dolphins in.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
The opening weekend. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
You're telling me that the first team in the WORL.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
I wish I had a gazillion dollars to bet on Miami.
That's well, you have a month deal, you can go
do it. Yeah, I may go do it. It's just
it's insane that the Colts would be a point and
have favored over the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
I don't know what people are thinking out there. It's
what is an embarrassed to them that kind of jumped.
Did you watch the game the other night or something?
Or which one the Colts? Well, I mean, yeah, you're
sitting here destroying them. And by the way, it's not
like there's massive expectations. They're only at seven and a
half over underwintild right, by the way, also includes teams
like the Falcons, the Jaguars, and oh, looking there, the

(15:28):
Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
Dolphins are what eight and a half I think, which
is like for something who has them at seven and
a half? Did you see what the USA predicted the
Miami Dolphins on wins this year? Did you see that?
I think I sent it to you.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Did you send me the USA Today run down that
you do every single year?

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (15:47):
She did, Yes, she did. They have you finish in
last place in what five and twelve? Is that the
craziest thing you ever? I thought that was a misprint.
I said, well, they must have been twelve and five.
There's obviously a misprint. I got to see if there's
a retraction or something like that going. I try so hard,
you guys. I mean literally, there's so much good stuff
going on in the NFL. This is my Sunday Night
battle I want to talk about. It always goes back

(16:07):
to the Dolphins. Just think you know the weeknight show
where everything goes back to the Jets with Jason Smith.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
That's what we kind of talk about.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
The Raiders. They're so stinky all the time.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Now they tied the game they finished in a tie.
It was all good. I don't want to talk just
about that.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
By the way, that kind of is a loss for me.
If the game didn't go into overtime. I'm kind of
thinking that should be a push.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
That's not like, no, that's the final score, buddy, you
lost that one.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
You had the Raiders Torow you can ask him.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
And also, by the way, I'm here to tell you
right now, as somebody who only cares about the Dolphins
in your picks, if if the game was in your
favor before it was shut down last night between the
Lions and the Falcons, you definitely would have claimed that
as a win. I know you would have probably, but
I can't say one hundred per But I will say this, hey,
one up eight In case you guys haven't heard it,
speaking of that Falcons Lions game last night, what it

(16:55):
was about eight minutes left in the game, twelve minutes
left in the game, though they put twelve on the
clock to one down. Maurice Morris Norris Mo Norris for
the Lions is telling everyone he is all good right after.
Did they ever show a replay of it? I've only
seen one angle in watching it live. And I couldn't
tell if the knee hit his face mask and launched

(17:16):
it back or what, but dude, it was it was
scary the way that he landed because he had to
like the two hands going you know where. He's just
kind of frozen a little bit. But he said today
he posted that he is all good, but that was
a scary moment last night in the exhibition season.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah, I think it was like fourteen minutes left through
fourteen Okay, Yeah, So in case people didn't know, in
the NFL, if you don't play fifty five minutes of
a game, there's everything's considered. No wager on that. Those
some casinos, some books may decide the honor it since
it's only preseason, and I'm sure there wasn't a lot
of money on the game anyway.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
All right, we got to break. Look, it's already nineteen
past the hour. We're just getting started Forfet's got updates.
He's got his eyes on all the preseason games that
are currently underway. The Jets are driving, they have it
in the red zone against the Packers, trying to take
an early lead in that game. And we're all over
the preseason all evening long, right, here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Let's see.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
The Jaguars just put up a field goal to in
the first half. Steelers lead at fourteen to nine. Trevor
Lawrence had the first drive for the Jaguars looked pretty good.
By speaking of early drives and looking good, do you
see what Joe Burrow did in his first two drives
two touchdowns?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Like what was he like nine to ten.

Speaker 4 (19:36):
Or or something like that on the head he was
nine of ten for one hundred and twenty three hours.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Because there's a reason for that, and the reason for
that is what the Bengals in September are just miserable,
I mean absolutely horrible.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
You no lies detected, and they're trying to get off
too fast start.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
And I don't blame that, but you know, I didn't
see this coming just until the last what like three
four days ago when we started learning that a lot
of the starters were going to be playing. It wasn't
like this last year, was it? Or the last couple
of years. We never saw the starters. Now they're getting
significant action right off the bat, and I don't expect
them they play in games two or three, at least
they don't. Who knows, maybe those they well, they need

(20:16):
to tune up in game three, and you know, I
will want to put him in for a series or something.
But I didn't expect them to be playing this much
to begin with. At least they are so many different
teams put their starters out there.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
I mean, we're watching the Packers Jets game right now.
Justin field just led the Jets, saw that for a touchdown,
and then little Kub brings the Packers out offense out.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
It's Jordan loves.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Q Bret farv I my mistake.

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Meanwhile, one other note, I kind of no sold what
happened at the end of the first half between the
Jaguars and the Steelers. That field goal that Cam Little
hit as the first half expired was a seventy yard
field goal.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
I see that on them. I didn't see the kick,
but I see that on my board. I'm like, oh,
there must be a mistake. No way he's kicking at
seven of the yard.

Speaker 4 (20:59):
Or I'm watching it right now. Oh my gosh, Arnie,
that was good. From like seventy three.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
There's two kickers. The old University of Arizona kicker who's
kicking for the Ravens now he's a rookie. He can
kick you like a seventy yard or also they're they're
gonna go for some long field goals if it makes
sense to do, so they're gonna try to do that.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
You remember his name, Come on, Arizona Diard Tyler Tyler
loop Well, good, well done, good job, good job. Eighty
three percent of his field goals last year for Arizona
because I.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Think he missed his first kick, yes or whatever they
played you. He's seventy seventy yard field goal. That's incredible,
I mean unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
I mean just wow. What's I mean? That's not something
you can consistently count on?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Right? Where's Tom Dempsey when you need him? Those days
are sixty three yards?

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Sixty three yards anyway, wild wild, developing story that pro
fed will be all over in just a bit. We
got cam Ward playing now. I've got a dream here
for this. But I reached out to our resident Titan expert,
our buddy Shady Sean for twenty just to get an
update on him. Are you do you have eyes on
this or you just watching highlights when you can game?

Speaker 3 (22:11):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (22:11):
Yeah, I have no I have the Yeah. The the
Jets Green Bay game is doing okay.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
I as Shawn, he said, so far, so good as expected.
Not looking at him to like the world on fire tonight.
But I would like to see a little bit of
what we saw yesterday with the Browns. So in other words,
I like that, you know you saw it s Sanders,
Kevin Oh gosh, why did I just blank on the
Kevin Seaffert?

Speaker 7 (22:35):
No?

Speaker 3 (22:35):
What's the head coach of the Browns name? Anyway, they fit.

Speaker 4 (22:39):
Him, thank you, gosh, Kevin Stefanski put him in some
tough situations, right they called a fourth down and one
where shoud or Sanders scrambled around. But I think every
fan that has a young quarterback out there, if you're
the Titans, if you're the Giants, and maybe the Giants
got a little bit of that, you want to see
your guy go out and look like Shador did last night.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I mean, I know that sounds arriable, but it's true
when you see these young quarterbacks like Sanders, like Jackson Dart,
Kyle Trask is actually having a good game right now,
who's a Keaton Mitchell not Keithon Mitchell Tanner McKee could
no not, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
I know you're right, Tanna McKee.

Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
With the Eagles former standards.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
I mean, when you see these guys put up big
numbers like that, do you wonder about some of the
backups right now in the NFL, just like maybe these
guys aren't very good because these these kids, I mean,
they're putting a big numbers, some of these young rookies
out there, you know, some of them, some of them.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
You look at him, you say, all right, and I
know everyone's gonna get triggered whenever we say this. I
want to see him against a little better competition because.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Some are they first teamers out there? Or is that
just like the offenser right cooking?

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Well, Jackson Dart wasn't playing against first teamers, and shad
Or Sanders wasn't playing against first teamers last night who
late in the game, the Minnesota guy you and I
fell in love with today, he wasn't playing against first
teamers or even second teamers at that point night.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
Buffalo started with their backups, and I think by the
time Jackson Dark got in the game, they had a
guy that was playing safety wearing number eighty six. So
I mean that's just so, I mean what I'm not
against that take Arnie, but I mean, you want to
play these you want to get this is when you
give these younger guys an opportunity. If they're a first rounder, right,
you expect them to go out there and win the job.

(24:21):
But if they're not, you know, mate, oh gosh, Jordan
Love just got twisted down. If you draft them later,
maybe they are a cheaper option. Whenever you're looking at
hey trying to save some money on a backup quarterback, maybe.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
Say good Steedson Bennett's looking real good.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
I was gonna put Kyles third year guy.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
I know that I was gonna put Trask in my
preseason Hall of Fame, but we already had him in
from last year. I believe he had a good preseason.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
And and that's a third year guy. You know, that's
not a rookie.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
That's a guy that's been waiting for his opportunity sitting
behind Baker Mayfield. All right, well, listen, enough of us
dancing around the updates. Jordan Love got up. He's okay.
The Packers have to punt after a not a three
and out, but to drive that stalls around midfield and
Chris Purfett and hour one has all of our updates
from everything going on, and not just the preseason, but
in the world of sports.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Chris?

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Well, one thing I can update is Arnie is still
a loose cannon, just going going nuts. I saw your
I saw your giant load out for the for the
show on Twitter, and I just was like, I.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Twenty two topics Roman numerals.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
Yeah, you're not going to get through that.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
We have a lot today.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
I have a lot to.

Speaker 8 (25:28):
The Roman numerals that is going out of style. But no,
you're not never at any of that. You already you
already ripped the thing off and somehow got us into
college football in the first segment here, I love college.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Two weeks to go plaguing. Two weeks, that's it big.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Actually, thirteen days, thirteen days now because the gay the
thirteen days and twenty something hours because ther golf is
at eleven am per fect?

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Come on, why you gotta just count down right?

Speaker 2 (25:53):
Hawaii plays a whole week before they play Arizona.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
You're not watching that Hawaii game.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
You're they play Arizona next. Okay, you shouldn't be watching Arizona.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Here, oh wouch, thirteen days.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Let me see you. I'll get my proper count down here.
Thirteen days, fifteen hours, and twenty six minutes until Kansas
State and Iowa stayed in Farmageddon let's.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
Go Farmageddon on week zero, and I'm gonna keep calling
it week zero.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
You notice how Wyel's obscene?

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Do you notice how Plike didn't want to talk about football.

Speaker 8 (26:22):
Of the season when both those teams have lost any
kind of hope other than beating themselves up, by the.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Way, notice how Plikes didn't want to talk about college
football very long after what happened to him? What are
you talking about what happened to me?

Speaker 3 (26:35):
I'm curious he doesn't even know. He doesn't even know.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Oklahoma wasn't in the top twenty five. I'm sure that's said. Well,
when you guys out there devastated, Oh, come on, you
know you are.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
They're not in a preseason top twenty five.

Speaker 8 (26:48):
Oh no, I'm sorry the people that, oh, I'm sure
you Arlen Schools for Oklahoma care, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (26:56):
Close enough.

Speaker 8 (26:56):
I don't think they actually care. Uh fans might not
care about this preseason game. So our Joe Milton's kind
of actually gotten off the canvas. He had I believe
in negative yards one yard in the first quarter. Yes,
he is now eleven of eighteen. The Rams are up
fourteen to six on the Cowboys at the half. Blake Korum,
the third round running back pick for the Rams, has

(27:20):
both touchdowns in this game, and Stetson Bennett is putting
up some numbers ten of sixteen for one hundred and
fifteen yards. But let's get on to the first overall
pick in cam Ward who last I looked, let me
make sure this is still good five of eight for
sixty seven yards. As the Titans are in preseason action

(27:41):
against the Buccaneers, Justin Fields had a thirteen yard touchdown
run and he's three for I think three for forty
two was last I saw. I meant three for four
for forty two yards. Blah blah, blah blah. I can speak,
I can speak, I can speak. Travis Hunter is out
of the game for the Jaguars, but he was playing
both sides the ball. Trevor Lwrence got to play a

(28:01):
series but no starters for the Steelers and earlier Giants
first round pick quarterback Jackson Dart talking about him earlier
twelve nineteen, one hundred and fifty four yards and a
twenty eight yard touchdown passed the little Jordan Humphrey now
in baseball, to lead us off, did you see what
happened in the Old Timers Game. Ever, I don't think

(28:22):
I would ever lead baseball talk about the Old Timers Game.
But Mariano Rivera Enters Sandman himself, according to his agency,
Athletic tore his acl during the.

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Old Timers Game. Unbelievable.

Speaker 8 (28:32):
So when are we going to shut down the Old
Timers game, fellas, because clearly we have to watch out
for retired old men who what isn't even in this
game either?

Speaker 4 (28:41):
Oh he's not. What about the guy from the Reds
that whenever the Savannah bananas came in, he tore his hands.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Sean Casey, Yes, he tore his a cl for the bananas.

Speaker 3 (28:52):
I'm doing Let the young pups do it. Yeah, anyway.

Speaker 8 (28:58):
The baseball scoreboard, top of the eighth a Juels with
a six four lead on the Tigers, Athletics walloping the Orioles.
Top of the fifth, ten to three, Guardians with a
two to one lead on the White Sox, Mets and
Brewers tied in the fifth inning.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Stop it, and.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
What they'ves like nine to ten? They're just going off.
You should expect, stop it, you should.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
Expect this is just normal.

Speaker 8 (29:21):
Normal Cubs with a seven run lead on the Cardinals,
top of the fourth and that's all I've got. Guys,
I've been here for a very long time. Today, I'm
gonna let you take over for me here. I will
see you, buddy. That's Chris Purfett. So did the hour
like that? No, I've been here since five a mike,
take some cough medicine.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Oh my god, oh my.

Speaker 8 (29:43):
You you yourself over there? I will try orange juice
on you know, we maple syrup from you? Where what
happened to that? I could really be budget this year?
He's moving to Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Connecticut?

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Connecticut?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Are Connecticut paid more taxes?

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Hardford? Hard for every restaurant in Hartford? Course at night,
you're not gonna like Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Here they closing sevens.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
All right, Thanks Chris.

Speaker 4 (30:11):
So, we got our eyes on all of these preseason
games that are going on as we speak, and we
always love to hear from you. It's a tradition unlike
any other. At a Stink and Genius one at Plank Show,
and everybody should go follow us at Fox Sports Radio.
I'm so sorry I cannot let go of calling it Twitter.
I'm trying to do my best, but you can find
us on the X and of course it's the easy

(30:33):
way and the best way to get in touch with
the show. But I just tweeted a video from the
Cowboys preseason game. I know that this doesn't work real
well on live radio, Arnie, do you have your phone
where you can watch it real quick? I could try
to go, go go, try to go. I just retweeted
this to go at Plank Show just retweeted this. It's
from my buddy Gay Bikert, and it shows Ceedee Lamb

(30:55):
on the sidelines during the Cowboys Rams game. And it's
one of the hard Okay, it's one of the hardest hits.
I think I've ever seen.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
The referee right into him.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
CD is in street close. He's not playing right. And
there is a play where a Cowboys receiver is wide
open and Milton's throwing the ball and as he does,
CD's just walking down the sideline.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
But he's not in the white He's in the right place.
The referee was in the wrong place.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
Well, the referee can go pretty much wherever they want.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
No, they're supposed to stay on the white part. See
there's the thick white.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
There is an air watching it.

Speaker 9 (31:30):
Now he got hit sticked, Yeah, he got rocked.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
You're wrong.

Speaker 4 (31:35):
I mean, listen. I don't know how to tell you this,
but you're wrong. CD cannot be standing there. There is
a line on the sidelines that you're supposed to stay behind,
and he's walking. No, it's not the white line, it's
not the sidelines.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
There's another line I can't yess.

Speaker 4 (31:50):
In fact, there's like three of them, and there is
a line for players they got to get back. There's
a line for media fauxtogs, who are I guess, the
gods according to all the sideline people.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
And then there's the rest of us. Ron sitter down
there but.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Like he's literally just walking right down the sidelines watching
it on the big screen, and he gets hit sticked
by the referee that's walking just behind him, are jogging
behind the play behind it, I mean rocked.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
So give it a look. It's one of the best
videos from the preseason.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
And you gotta be careful, Arnie, because when you're keeping
your guys off the field to avoid them to get
from getting any injuries or hurt, the you.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
Gotta watch out for the officials.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
I don't that's one of the hardest hits I think
I've ever seen on the sidelines dude, that's one of
the hardest hits.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
The official got harder than you got flagged for.

Speaker 4 (32:39):
It of course too. So that's uh, that's what you
got to keep an eye on. He did get a flag.
It called the playback. All right, give me anything to
update beyond down on these games you're watching right now.
Jets have the football back that'll do it for justin fields.
We'll talk about his solid first drive and just a
bit Jordan Love. Not bad for the Green Bay Packers
in their first drive, but it stalled it about midfield.

(33:00):
So now we get a chance to watch the backup
quarterbacks take over in New York and in Green Bay,
I should say in Green Bay with the Jets right now,
and I would say if I'm a Jets fan, off
that first drive, feeling pretty good about things right now, and.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Pretty good after after what we saw on Twitter all
week walk about how bad your offense looked. Did you
see all that about how I think I sent them
to you? Oh yeah, just every little thing has more
completions today than the had all week of practice or
or something like that. They made it out like it
was the worst team in the history of the NFL,
that they won't even win one game after the way

(33:36):
they practiced.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Well, I mean they're not.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
You've already promised us that the Colts are going to
be the worst team in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
It's gonna be tough between the Colts and the Jets.
It's going to be right there, one two.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
But the seat the Saints aren't even in this conversation
right now, one.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
Two three, one two three right there, one two three.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Are when the Jets have a better record than the Dolphins,
I'm gonna have so much fun.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
I will quit my job if that happens. I promise
you that.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Clipping that off, yeah, keep that that off.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
Yeah. In fact, right now, save out for life as
it's not happening.

Speaker 4 (34:02):
I think that I think the Browns might be worse
in the Colts walk it through that door. Well, I
think the Panthers might be well, I think the Raiders
might be worse than the Colts right now, but not
you do.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
I mean it's you've you've promised it.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
You've guaranteed it.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
I guarante it's gonna happen all right when we come back.
It's an old time honored tradition. On the on the
Sunday night show here with Arnie and I and it's
Roman numeral number three. We're gonna dive into a little
bit of things that we know after two partial week
one preseason. We'll dive into it nex with Arny and

(34:37):
Plank on a Saturday right here on Fox Sports.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
You know, it is a fair question here for some
of you that are unable to listen to the Sunday
Night Show. Paul does ask a fair question, Arnie, why
are you moving to Connecticut?

Speaker 3 (35:25):
Because he wants to pay more taxes? Man, that's want
to I want to.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Pay more taxes. My wife is getting transferred, so she's
going down there, and everybody knows I'm a trophy husband.
That's so I'm just gonna move down there with my
wife and we're gonna get a place down there and
sell our house up here. We had our housealt Chris,
I thought I told you that that it felt it
fell out of escrow. So no, yeah, so we had

(35:50):
to start the whole process all over again.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
So I think this is just your way to try
to stay there longer.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
In your batchelors. I was supposed to go to Seinfeld tonight.
My wife's down there Seinfeld that she went to the
Goo Goo Dolls last night.

Speaker 3 (36:04):
Your son didn't know who the Goo Goo Dolls was?

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Had no? I had said to my I said, I said,
you know, mom's at the Googo Dolls tonight, and he
was who are They had no idea none. What looked
to me like I had two heads, like who is
the what are they called the go gou? What? What?

Speaker 3 (36:19):
What is that? SHA's what twenty five?

Speaker 2 (36:22):
Twenty seven?

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Okay, so twenty well, I mean no, SHA's twenty five? Oh,
I thought you're talking about producer.

Speaker 4 (36:29):
Sorry, I'm sorry, his son, Shane, I apologized, Not Shae,
whose name I cannot say, so I just call him Shae.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
The Goo Goo Dolls really haven't had it. He should
know who Shay, He should know who the Goo Goo
Doles are. Yeah you think No. Twenty seven?

Speaker 2 (36:43):
I don't know who they are, jeez, unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (36:48):
Well you think about I didn't know who Lonnie whatever
it was, and yeah that makes sense.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
I mean their their first number one hit was like
in the late nineties, so I guess it.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Could it was Iris. Sorry, yeah, yeah, that was nineteen
ninety eight.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
I don't know any of their music and I know
who they are.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Well, let's get your wife's going to the concert.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
Well, she was going just for the hell of it.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Oh okay, I gotcha.

Speaker 4 (37:11):
A couple of tweets here from our number one to
follow up on beyond just where You're living now Paul
does double up with this. If Josh Allen gets hurt,
the Bills will lose every game that Mitch Trubisky starts.
The Bears drafting him over Mahomes is this generation's Bowie
over Jordan.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
I know Anthony about that.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Michael Jordan.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Oh my gosh, Hey, does let me ask you this?
Just start thinking about that, not to obsess over it
at all, but I mean there's something maybe even a
little bit more recent than saying Anthony Bowie over Michael Jordan.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Well, that was hideous to begin with.

Speaker 4 (37:50):
But no, don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong.
But in the two thousand and seven NBA draft, Greg
Godin went over Kevin Durant.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Yes, absolutely, yeah, I mean that's.

Speaker 4 (38:02):
And again I I get it. I'm not trying to
say Durant is at the level of MJ. But he's
had a pretty illustrious career. I mean it's it's a
big swing and a miss. Mike Conley was the That
was a wild draft because a lot of these guys
are still playing in their in their forties.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
Almost Greg Godin went one, and then it was Kevin Durant.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Al Horford went three, Mike Conley went four, and then
Jeffrey Green Nicko.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Didn't the Knicks pass on Steph Curry? I think I'm
not sure.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Oh yeah that was. I mean, that wasn't O seven,
but that was they drafted.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
Uh, the Timberwolves passed on him twice twice, and they
drafted Johnny Flood and.

Speaker 3 (38:38):
Gosh and the guy that just retired.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Right from Spain.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I think Ricky Rubio.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
Ricky Rubio, which now that I say it, it sounds like
it's not even a real name, but I mean, you
think about it.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
He got drafted ahead of Steph Curry, by the way.

Speaker 4 (38:52):
Yeah, that's what we're just saying. That's what's why they
both did Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio. Uh, that's what costs.
It was what David Kahn was the GM at the
time for the Timberwolves. And yes, yess overall. But I
will say I heard a debate this week that if
Mahomes hadn't landed with Andy Reid, he would have never

(39:12):
been the Mahomes that we see now.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
I agree with that, you do, Okay, I do agree
with that. You know, I can't say just landing in
Kansas City put him on that. Yet it was a
lot better to play for the Kansas City Chiefs then
let's say a bad Cleveland team or a bad Jets
team or anything Zach Wilson had to go through, or
any of the quarterbacks that went to Cleveland. But it
really was one hundred percent better situation then a lot

(39:38):
of the other early quarterbacks that get taken with the
first or second pick.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Yeah, I guess, I guess. I'm not trying to.

Speaker 4 (39:47):
Vindicate them for doing it because there's no there's no
way to say, hey, good job passing on Patrick Mahomes.
I don't know, you know, it's just it seems kind
of unique because I've never really thought of it that way.
I just look get Mahomes and say wherever he went.
But you go back, but eight years, like these conversations
that you here talking about justin fields in practice and

(40:07):
like these practices with the Dolphins, aren't the people were
freaking out about how bad Mahomes was in early practices
for the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (40:14):
Hey it wasn't like a big winner in college though, No,
he wasn't.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
I mean they got to beat sixty sixty three by
Iowa State one year for goodness sake. So anyway, I
just I don't know in thinking about big misses that's
gonna be up there. But and I wonder, I wonder
in that instance if maybe Mahomes dodged the bullet too,
because it might not have been what it could have
been for him in Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Have he ended up in.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
Chicago with storm It's up And I'm with you too
on that poll, Josh Allen. After watching those backups today.

Speaker 3 (40:43):
Yeah, make sure he stays healthy. Make sure they made
the Giants defense look good. All right?

Speaker 4 (40:48):
When we come back little college football, little arch manning
and preseason updates.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Next, Please do listen no Fox Sports Radio Radio, oh
to hear that awesomeness from Bri on the up day.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Let's go awesomeome hour two. We're coming to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studio.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
You need more boom goes to dynamite. But other than
that awesome, that's the exactly that's Marty Albell.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
I'm Chris Plank. You can find us every Sunday night
in our normal slot from ten p to one A Central,
eleven to two a Eastern right here on Fox Sports Radio,
and of course not only on all of our great affiliates,
but on the iHeartRadio app simply search Fox Sports Radio.
And I will say, there is one thing that gets
me excited, which is following your bets, like how they're

(41:36):
doing during the preseason, even though you don't bet on
any games, you just pick them.

Speaker 3 (41:41):
You are one and one today, Yeah the bill.

Speaker 2 (41:43):
Look for the rest of the day though you're not. Yeah,
looking very good. Wow, I have the over in the
Rams game. They got twenty. I need two more touchdowns,
that's looking.

Speaker 3 (41:54):
With ten minutes to go in the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
So I'll get that. I have the Chiefs minus three.
They're up fourteen to three.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
You got Green Bay and they're down right now and.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
Seven to three in the second slow down.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
Sitting here proclaiming victory. Have you watched I just finally
got the Cowboys game up in here. Oh my goodness,
Joe Milton is awful. This idea that we put these
guys in the preseason Hall of Fame. And I know
you're having fun with it, Arnie, but holy smokes. I
mean Joe Milton had a guy running wide open thirty
yards down the field. There wasn't a defender in a

(42:30):
Rams jersey anywhere near him.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
Like when they go seven on seven practice. He just
tore it up. I've never seen a quarterback do anything
like that in seven on seven ever.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
Not only not only, not only was the guy running
wide open, but there was no pressure on Joe Milton either.
He was like having a sandwich and he overthrew the guy.
But I'm not even kidding, Like he was throwing it
to the sidelines and the dude was wide open, so
that might hurt your little over bet just a bit
off he did.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Like week eight, you're not allowed to have your number
one quarterback play everybody has to start the second stringer.

Speaker 3 (43:07):
That would be eight of the regular So you would
set a time.

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Now, everyone's got to be active that weekend, right, it
would have to be a weekend when everyone's playing, so
no one can be on a buy and you just
say this is the week here everybody. Everyone has to
play their backup quarterback.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
That'd be awesome? What it not?

Speaker 3 (43:24):
Or who would you feel the most confident in winning
in the NFL?

Speaker 2 (43:28):
Right now? Oh geez, I have to go through all
the backups.

Speaker 4 (43:30):
We were doing this because I nerd out on college.
We were doing this in college earlier today. And I
don't really know if there's anyone in college that you'd
be like, oh, yeah, I love their backup, like really
because he was a high school kid last year, or
he was he transferred in from Angelo State to be
their backup.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
By the way, obviously, if they listened to our show
Sunday night, Remember when I said, Hey, wouldn't that be
great if they had a red zone for college and
you're like, hey, yeah, you know that. I don't know
if it would work out because all the different times
and stuff, and now they're going to do the red zone.

Speaker 4 (43:59):
For wait, wait, hold on, hold on, don't they're not
going to do it. They say that it's a gig
about it, right, which means they will do it.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (44:08):
I don't know, man, you're talking about I'm all about it.
I'd be all about it. I think it'd be a
great investment. I think it'd be awesome. But you have
several different entities that have to come together. You've got
a big ten network and a big ten deal that
is pretty exclusive to Fox. Then they have CBS and
NBC that have like side gigs with them. You got

(44:30):
ESPN that is twenty four to seven, three sixty five sec.
I don't even know with the big twelves on ESPN
and five, Like, how are you gonna get all of
these entities to come together and agree?

Speaker 2 (44:39):
Stop?

Speaker 3 (44:40):
Let it make it advantable?

Speaker 2 (44:41):
What are you an attorney? By goodness, I'm just branking.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
I mean you're the one that said, hey, it's gonna happen.
I'm pointing out that I think hold on, and I
said it.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Last Sunday too. They must have been listening to.

Speaker 4 (44:50):
Us, that's right. What was that Roman numeral ten, Roman
number thirteen, whatever it was.

Speaker 3 (44:55):
I saw them.

Speaker 4 (44:56):
I was like, oh gosh, don't say that it's gonna happen,
because it's gonna be tough to make it happened.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
Now, can I can I just.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Go to one? I just I thought we'd kind of
get this in by now. But you know, we're filling
in for Martin Weiss Alex Monico, and Martin's out because
he's getting married. But I don't know, I just probably
decided to take the night off. But by the way,
just so you know, this is like the fourth person
at the network that's getting married that I haven't been

(45:23):
invited to their to their wedding, my own producer.

Speaker 3 (45:26):
For the free gift.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
Yeah, my own producer got married and didn't invite me.
Willard got married and didn't invite me. And Willard are
best friends, like best friends.

Speaker 4 (45:38):
I mean, I'm not in that like round two. Like
do people get crazy about round two weddings?

Speaker 2 (45:41):
I don't know. But it's so I just Martin's getting
married for the first time. I thought we could we
can give him some marital advice. I don't know, it's
what's so funny about that?

Speaker 3 (45:51):
Well, I mean, I don't think you want marital advice
from me. H.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Well, I've been married like seven times or bad. I'm
sorry carried.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Away here we might be we might be working on
a third. But in all seriousness, congratulations to Martin.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
That's all graduations.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
His story last week about his were we on last week?

Speaker 2 (46:12):
What did we do it? Saturday night?

Speaker 4 (46:14):
But I remember I was listening very intently because he
nearly drowned whenever he was on his Uh, I guess
they went what did they go to? A pre wedding,
honeymoon or something?

Speaker 3 (46:23):
I don't know, his bachelor party or something. Bachelor party?

Speaker 4 (46:27):
Okay, all right, and he nearly he had some dude
jump on his back and it nearly He'll fit, nearly
drowned him whenever he must drive.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Safety.

Speaker 4 (46:36):
Yeah, but I like Martin a lot, so my best
advice would be, well, already doesn't live by this, but
I'll just tell you she's always right, You're never gonna win,
and just to enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Well, but mind similar similar to that. I passed that
because he tweeted me and asked me last week. I
must have been filling it because I I was coming
up next to something. He tweeted me and wanted to
know any marital advice because you know, I've been married
a long time like one hundred and thirty years now,
and as my dad passed this down to me and

(47:09):
to work with me. My dad was married like fifty
five years, and they decided when my parents got married
that my mom would make all the little decisions that
come up through the fifty five years, and my dad
would make all the big decisions in the fifty five years.
And would you believe after fifty five years, there was
never one big decision. So if you just if you

(47:32):
just stick with that, you'll be happy and hopefully you'll
never have to make a big decision. So that's happy.
Congratulations to Martin. So that's good to year old tell
anybody where he was going on his honeymoon, like he
was gonna tell us like we're all going to rush
out and book vacations in Hawaii or something like that.
Martin's don't know why you better go and book vacations

(47:53):
to ruin his honeymoon or something.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
I never know with you though, where's he going on
his honeymoon? Do you know he's going to space? Space?

Speaker 4 (48:01):
Dude, I've always wanted to go to space. Here's my question.
Can we go back to the original point here on this,
aren't he is mad that he wasn't invited to Martin's wedding,
nor best friends nor Willards and Lewand and I are
best friends. And then who was the other one that
you were upset about?

Speaker 2 (48:19):
My my producers?

Speaker 4 (48:21):
Ber Singer right now, First of all, any producer that
wouldn't invite you anything, I think everyone could, even the
people that hate me the most. I can even understand
what the way that you talk to our producers and
in our I mean you barely for the.

Speaker 2 (48:38):
Gift though, for the free gift. It's not like I
was gonna fly out there from Vermont anyway.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
You just wait, hold on, you just want to be invited,
just invite.

Speaker 2 (48:49):
Yeah, so I said, I can't go, but at least
I'll send you a stinking gift.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
Are you gonna send the gift? Or is going to
send it?

Speaker 2 (48:55):
No? I make Beth send it. I wouldn't send it crazy,
I'm just shopped for a gift. Or I love Margat
and yeah, send them the espresso maker three thousand that
he wanted for five hundred dollars. Yeah, like that's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (49:09):
I love a man who uh, who never leaves his
house for anything, getting mad that he wasn't invited to
a wedding that he had no desire whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
I was supposed to leave my house this week, and
I told you I was supposed to go to Seinfeld.
I know, but I didn't. By the way, I told
you that Seinfeld, that Beth and I were in Seinfeld.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Yes, do we do?

Speaker 2 (49:31):
We?

Speaker 6 (49:32):
Well?

Speaker 4 (49:32):
I guess it was Sunday night last, So do I
got the I got the proof this time? Oh, you
got the proof?

Speaker 2 (49:37):
I got the Mary Mack, do you have the proof
for me about the episode of when Beth and already
were on Seinfeld?

Speaker 3 (49:43):
Unfortunately play historic episode?

Speaker 2 (49:47):
Yeah, two of them.

Speaker 10 (49:49):
Hey, Beth, Arnie, it's Elaine. I thought you guys might
want to have lunch.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
Give me a call.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
Bye.

Speaker 2 (49:55):
Hey, Arnie's just as upset. That's no, there's there's a
whole bunch of them. I just didn't have to pull
a whole bunch of them.

Speaker 4 (50:06):
I understand that. But hold on, hold on. You just
had her pull clips from Seinfeld.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
You didn't had me to it. I'm sorry you had
Ian Pool clips from Seinfeld.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
You said you had the evidence that it was about
you and Beth and not just the clips from Seinfeld.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
No, Well, it's definitely about Beth and I. I I
don't know how to prove that, but it's definitely written
about us. You know. The funny part is it was
Beth and some guy David, and then they changed the
name to Beth and Arnie. He must have heard my
show one day and you think so, all right, one
hundred percent. He's a sports talk radio fan. He really is.

(50:41):
He's been on Dan Patrick before.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
Who's Who's he that you keep talking Larry David.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
Larry David Well Seinfeld is a big sports talk fan,
but in New York and I was working locally in
Los Angeles and Larry David lived in LA. There's no
doubt he wrote it after Beth and I. There's zero
so you didn't get to night. I think I actually
had an email, but I don't know what I did
with the damn email, so I don't have that type
of proof anymore.

Speaker 4 (51:08):
Good news for fans that have the over oh big
loss on a handoff to Drake Stoops. The Rams are
driving right now with a fourteen to six lead. I
need five minutes to go in the third quarter of
that game. Meanwhile, the Jets Rams are driving. I think
Stetson Bennett was still in a quarterback last I checked.

(51:28):
And oh, by the way, the Jets just scored a
defensive touchdown to go up fourteen to three on the.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
Packers, which that's keeping to go.

Speaker 4 (51:35):
That hurts in the first half of That's still plenty
of time to go in that game. But Rams trying
to get back in the end zone. You mentioned quarterbacks
that have looked pretty good, right Stetson Bennett was a
guy that's disappeared for a couple of years as far
as the league is concerned.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
I think he's looked pretty good here tonight.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
Twelve of twenty four, one hundred and thirty nine yards
does have an interception, but I mean he's just threw
a big pass on a long third down after a
big loss.

Speaker 3 (52:00):
He's looked pretty solid.

Speaker 4 (52:01):
And right now, the Rams are constantly talked about a
team that might be looking for a quarterback in the future.

Speaker 2 (52:07):
Now.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
I don't know if were Georgia walk on that guy,
but he's been good tonight.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Well, people are like, well, what difference does a backup
quarterback make? I think it's come to the point now
where your starting quarterback is gonna go fifteen games, your
backup quarterback. We'll have to go ahead and squeeze in
two games, you know, like the Thursday after a Sunday,
or maybe your quarterback is just really so banged up
that maybe you're playing a bad team one weekend and
you're gonna go with the backup quarterback. It's get to

(52:31):
that point now where you're starting quarterback cannot go seventeen
games and still be fresh for the playoffs. You're gonna
have to view them. Sometimes you can't.

Speaker 4 (52:38):
You can't afford to sit a quarterback though I'm pay
him too much money, he's too much, he's too integral
in the offense. You just can't unless you have your
season in the bag by week seventeen or eight.

Speaker 3 (52:49):
I don't think we're heading towards.

Speaker 2 (52:50):
That, even if you're like a fourteen point favorite at home,
or you can take nothing for.

Speaker 4 (52:54):
Granted though I don't think you can take anything for
granted on that front. I mean, I just again, I
understand what you're saying, and I don't think it's necessarily
a bad idea. But you know, quarterbacks are averaging what
about eighteen to twenty percent of your of your payroll,
and I know you want to keep them healthy but
you also only have seventeen regular season games.

Speaker 2 (53:13):
I'll make you do the homework. How many quarterbacks actually
started every regular season game for their team?

Speaker 4 (53:19):
So well, two years ago we had a record number
of quarterbacks. So in other words, Ktcher, make sure your
backup's good, but you got to protect her.

Speaker 3 (53:26):
You got to protect and go with your starter.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Man.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
That's that's that's the reality of the NFL today.

Speaker 4 (53:31):
You can't just say, oh, yeah, this isn't baseball, you know,
It's like, oh, we're gonna give them the weekend off.

Speaker 2 (53:36):
I just I don't think a bullpen start. No such
thing as a as a bullpen start in the NFL,
you don't.

Speaker 4 (53:42):
You don't have those FCS teams on your schedule like
the SEC does, and everyone's always making fun of us
for it's like, oh, I have a good time this
week and it gives Idaho Wilmington or whomever. But yeah,
I don't. I mean, you really feel like we're going
to head towards a point in the NFL where quarterbacks
might be beyondking for too, I get it. Let me
just go ahead and fit in myself. Week sixteen seven.

(54:04):
I'm sorry because now we get on seventeen games, eighteen
weeks week seventeen or eighteen when the playoffs are set,
and you know what you're gonna be. I get that,
I understand that, but you just you make it seem
like at some point during the regular seas you might say,
all right, let let's rest him just because he's a
vet and we don't want to risk him getting hurt.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
Well, there's seventeen games. Now, what's gonna happen when it's
an eighteen game season? Are you still going to say
the same thing? And it's like, how many games do
you want these guys to go ahead and start? And
you know, to be fresh for the playoffs, you have
to go ahead and look at that. And like I said,
how many quarterbacks are you're going to go ahead and
start all seventeen or or eighteen games. There's a reason

(54:43):
why you have a backup quarterback and you pay them
two three, four five million dollars at a reason he's
not playing well. You gotta have sub confidence and you
gotta go ahead and can't just say, well, we're dead.
When our starter goes down, we might as well just
chuck up a loss and just leave. But I mean
with games Chris, that's a lot. That's a long haul
before you get to the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (55:04):
So you're gonna do it? Are you gonna do with
other positions too?

Speaker 2 (55:09):
I don't think you have to do. That's funny you
brought that up. I don't think Travis Hunter is gonna
make it both ways. I think that's gonna take a
toll on his body. It's well, no, it's just.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
Got to win from quarterbacks and he take a break
to just no catching what they're trying to do with
Travis Hunter.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
But I'm here for it.

Speaker 2 (55:25):
No, It's just it's just too much. It's too much
of a toll on your body. I just don't think
you can go ahead and do that being there every
play just about what fifty out of sixty plays, that's
that's just too much. It's and it increases your chance
of getting hurt. I just don't think you can do that.

Speaker 4 (55:41):
Well there, they've got a plan. They let them play
both ways tonight, so we'll we'll see if it is.
It's a preseason game, so I'm not getting too carried
away as its hands right now.

Speaker 3 (55:50):
Let me see what do they have on stats so far?
Two catches for.

Speaker 4 (55:54):
Nine yards, but he's out now, Yeah, he's yeah, yeah,
I'm just going back early in this game. The Jaguars
trail twenty one fifty team with two fifty go in
the third. They don't have him actually with any defensive stats,
so I don't know if he's involved in a tackle
or a pass breakup or anything. But you're saying, hey,
don't even think about it. Pick one side and go Yeah.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
I think he's got to be a wide receiver, and
go ahead and go with that. I think trying to
do both ends will it will slow his progress down
for the wide receiver, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (56:25):
I think that he might be a better cover corner
than he is a wide receiver. So why wouldn't you
focus on con You may.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
Be making a point on that. You may be right
on that one. I just have no clue to me.
I'd rather catch touchdowns than to go ahead and break
him up. I want to be catch. I want to
be the star, you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (56:43):
I want that far by the way, real quick? Is
Bree where we can talk to her? Is she getting
ready for an update or anything? Brire reading right now?

Speaker 3 (56:49):
Oh? Is she okay? When we come back back? Okay?

Speaker 4 (56:52):
Well, when we come back, tell Brie We've got a
big announcement, because Arnie just said that he thinks the
Cults are going to be the worst team in the
NFL with stat which that's got to bring a smiley eye.
I'm saying that the Saints aren't going to be terrible looking.
I didn't say, I think. I didn't say.

Speaker 7 (57:06):
Things like rank them one, two, three, So you think
they're going to be in like the top three.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
I didn't say. I think I said one hundred percent.
The Yeah, you can't guarantee anything.

Speaker 7 (57:18):
One Dolphins are going to the super Bowl and Mike
McDaniel's gonna be Coach of the Year, things like that.

Speaker 2 (57:22):
Right, you know I've been You know, it's so funny.
Now everybody's calling him a different name. Now. I heard
Dan Patrick calling him something. Somebody else at him as
like as some tutor or something like that. Everybody's stealing
nicknames now to calling all your stuff. Man, it's dealing
all my material. That's good stuff. I'm coming up with.

Speaker 4 (57:40):
You are made to hang out on Monday through Friday.
Timpe to one air. I mean you, you and Jason
Smith are like two peas in a pod man. I
don't know how you guys haven't ever been partnered up together.
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
We fight each other just to get a word or.

Speaker 3 (57:54):
And then you'd be mad because everyone's stealing your stuff.

Speaker 4 (57:56):
That's that That would be my favorite part that I
So you really think Dan Patrick Thieven here from you?

Speaker 2 (58:01):
Huh? You know, I guess if it's happening, it's happening.
What can I tell you?

Speaker 3 (58:04):
But Brie, I don't know what? What do they call you? Bree?

Speaker 2 (58:06):
Brie? Brie?

Speaker 4 (58:07):
What is that like some nickname that they had on
the show last night as a little jealous you have
little nicknames for each other on Friday Night.

Speaker 7 (58:13):
I've been working with those guys for ten years now.

Speaker 4 (58:16):
That's not as that's not as impactful as two months
or whatever. But here's my question to you. Does it
make you feel a little bit better though that Arnie says,
no number one pick this year, it's going to the Colts.

Speaker 3 (58:26):
It's got to make you feel good.

Speaker 7 (58:28):
Yes and no, because I just I don't know if
I want to see my team just embarrass themselves and
just fall apart.

Speaker 2 (58:35):
If you were getting married, would I be invited to
the wedding?

Speaker 7 (58:37):
I want to know, Yes, Arnie would be invited and
actually would you would be in charge of the guest
book too. Does that make you feel better a little bit?
I'm the last person on earth that's ever getting married.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
First of all, that's not true.

Speaker 4 (58:49):
Secondly, if you're giving him a responsibility, don't because he
only wants to be invited, so we can't show up
and actually show.

Speaker 10 (58:56):
I just I think he's going to ask everybody, Oh,
who do you know?

Speaker 6 (58:59):
I went?

Speaker 10 (58:59):
I know that person that was in high school with them?

Speaker 3 (59:01):
Oh that person?

Speaker 7 (59:02):
Oh yeah, with that person. Oh my god, we were
on the four or five were at the same time.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
Come on, now, all right, we got a break.

Speaker 4 (59:12):
When we come back, we're gonna hit I tease this
a while back and completely whifted on it after week
one in the preseason.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
We know this. It's next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
There you go.

Speaker 4 (59:24):
Field goals good, seventeen to three with a minute fifty
two to go in the first half.

Speaker 3 (59:31):
Jets are looking good all over the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
Oh, don't let that for you.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
You're not getting too bought in on them right now.

Speaker 2 (59:40):
No, no, they're dustined for last place. Please.

Speaker 4 (59:44):
This is a interesting little stretch here for all the
free season. The Rams are driving. They have its second
in goal with fourteenth oh, flag.

Speaker 3 (59:54):
On the play.

Speaker 2 (59:55):
You need a touchdown here.

Speaker 3 (59:56):
Seventeen to six the Rams, sleepy cowboy.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
It's Arnie's taking the over in this game, which is
thirty three. Yeah, And the problem that he's facing is
that neither Sean McVay nor Brian Schottenheimer look like they
really have any care whatsoever. Holding penalty is going to
push him back, but it's just in other words, they're
just running the football.

Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
So it's killing me.

Speaker 4 (01:00:21):
You know what could help you in this game though,
And I'm not even lying because I've been watching this up.

Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
Pretty six ding ding ding. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
In fact, I think that's going to give you your cover.

Speaker 4 (01:00:30):
Could have field goal here, would make it twenty to six,
and then you get a touchdown to at least push
on it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
Speaking to I had thirty three and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
Oh you have a hook on that.

Speaker 2 (01:00:40):
Yeah, I think so. Wait double check now.

Speaker 4 (01:00:43):
Don't look, but the Chiefs have finally tapped out, So
that pick you were feeling very good about. The Cardinals
are on the move again, even though.

Speaker 2 (01:00:51):
It's your negativity. That is why my pick start going South.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
Listen, Ian and Mary were there. We had to spend
three hours of a three hour radio show hearing about
how your picks might be the greatest on the planet.

Speaker 3 (01:01:07):
Let's spend we had to endure oh hours.

Speaker 4 (01:01:09):
Gosh, it was like everything was about how great the
I mean there was I couldn't even talk football a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Do you understand the pressure there is? The boss is
gonna fire me if I don't pick it like eighty percent?
So every year, every year, I've got that pressure on me,
hanging over my head, my jobs on the line, because
that's why they hired me for this stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
They hired you because of your of your picking.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
Crazyson, my great picks.

Speaker 4 (01:01:36):
Oh you might get a Dutch Dad rabs. Let's got
three six, let's go point pending. Is there another flag?
The Rams have been awesome on getting flagged. Hey, I
think they're just gonna let They're gonna let the uh,
They're gonna let Stetson bit it go the whole way.

Speaker 2 (01:01:51):
It looks like right now, so good, he's just good
a run and he's just gonna run, run, run the way.

Speaker 4 (01:01:55):
It doesn't matter. He just threw a touchdown pass for you,
So take it. Take it all you.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
We have him in the preseason Hall of Fame. I
may have to put him in now.

Speaker 3 (01:02:03):
I don't think you did.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
I don't think you do. They had a holding penalty
that pushed him back, and then Stet's had been and
throws an absolute dime. So he is what about fifteen
of twenty three over two hundred yards a touchdown in
a pick not bad.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
We have to get in there, come on now, I
mean he he was, it was v plus. I liked
what I saw. He you know, he had some zip
on the ball.

Speaker 4 (01:02:27):
Why don't you hold on to that for just a second,
because we've teased after week one of the preseason I
of this that we need to get to. Okay, and listen,
everyone in sports radio is contractually obligated to do a
Shador Sanders segment at some point today. Right we signed
the contract. We got to do it. So let's dive
into it in just a bit. But first, Brianna Merro

(01:02:48):
is here to get a scought up on everything that's
going on in a wild Night for preseason taken away brew.

Speaker 10 (01:02:54):
Oh my god, Arnie, you don't know my last name.

Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
You just ignore him.

Speaker 10 (01:02:59):
It sh You're gonna be like, who are you?

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Who are Hi?

Speaker 10 (01:03:03):
I'm new, I don't know. I just started today. Nice, yes,
nice to meet you.

Speaker 7 (01:03:07):
Okay, go starting off and the Jacksonville game, Travis Hunter
did play on both sides of the ball, like I said,
ten snaps on offense, eight snaps on defense.

Speaker 10 (01:03:15):
Running Back Tajay Spears was carted.

Speaker 7 (01:03:18):
Off to the locker room with a right lower lake
injury a little while ago. So that's like really depressing.
That's Tony Pollard's backup and he's in my dynasty league.

Speaker 10 (01:03:27):
So I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 7 (01:03:28):
I'm I'm a little upset, not gonna lie.

Speaker 10 (01:03:32):
I felt a little anxiety.

Speaker 7 (01:03:34):
First, overall, pick cam Ward went five for eight along
with sixty seven yards lately led the Titans to a
sixty five yard touchdown drive. Quarterback Justin Fields played one
series forty two yards, one rushing touchdown, and then right
now the Rams are.

Speaker 10 (01:03:49):
Up on the Cowboys. I don't know. You said you
were going for thirty three.

Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Points, Arnie and a half. Thirty three and a half.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
There you go.

Speaker 7 (01:03:57):
Earlier today, Giants quarterback Jackson Dark finished twelve of nineteen
fo one hundred and fifty four yards, including a twenty
nine yard touchdown past the former Saint Little Jordan Humphrey
while adding three carries for twenty four yards.

Speaker 8 (01:04:10):
J J.

Speaker 7 (01:04:10):
McCarthy went four for seven for thirty yards in his
only series. And then in Major League Baseball, Marianna Rivera
tore his achilles during that Yankees Old Timers game earlier today.
Derek Jeter was supposed to be there, but it was
his daughter's birthday.

Speaker 10 (01:04:26):
And then that was kind of like a choice.

Speaker 7 (01:04:28):
And then so he said that he wasn't going to go,
and there was some controversy over that whether or not.

Speaker 10 (01:04:32):
It was kind of like.

Speaker 7 (01:04:33):
A he should have gone or he shouldn't have gone
because I think she was turning like seven.

Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
For your kids.

Speaker 10 (01:04:40):
That, yeah, but the Yankees fans are crazy, you guys.
They just did want to know.

Speaker 7 (01:04:45):
And then in the Mets game, Pete Alonso hit his
two hundred and fifty seconds rushon. Yeah, they are losing
to the Brewers. He tied Darryl Strawberry for the Mets
record for most home r And so that's say, guys,
back to you.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Thanks prety appreciate it. It's the Arnie Plank Show filling
in tonight. You're on a Saturday. I keep getting turn around.
I keep thinking it's Sunday night, and then I'm like,
I gotta get to bed. But no, we got plenty
of time here this evening, and I know when we're
done here, I can flip on that iHeart Radio app
and listen to Jason and Aaron because you can stream
us wherever you happen to be catches and all of

(01:05:20):
our Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seven
and the new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox
Sports Radio and the app to stream us live all
day every day, and be sure to select Fox Sports
Radio is one of your presets in the iHeart app,
so it will always pop up at the top of
your screen. Now you mentioned Shadoor Sanders. Give me your
big takeaways. What kind of stood out to you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
Here's a lot more poised than I really thought he
was going to be. He didn't panic. Yes, when he
did get sacked on that was at fourth and one,
he ran backwards and god sacked. It wasn't like he
let it ruin his night. I love the way he
got that first touchdown in it was over defender and
squeeze that into the receiver. He ran when he was

(01:06:02):
supposed to pick up the first down with his legs
thirteen of twenty four, fourteen to twenty three. I don't
know what it was, still over one hundred yards, like
one hundred and thirty eight, one hundred and forty yards.
Just looked good. Directed the team the three touchdowns, he
threw two and then they ran one in. He did
everything he was supposed to do. The Browns are usually
don't look that good preseason or regular season. I give

(01:06:25):
him a B plus. I he was a lot better,
like I said, a lot more poised then I thought
he would be there.

Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
Chris, I mean, you gotta remember, I'm one of those
morons that even on the night of the draft, thought
he was still going to be a first round pick.
And I and it's kind of funny because I even went.
I can remember like living and dying on each pick
because I was. I was working the show afterwards, and
all right, here it is, here, it is the Raiders
are gonna take.

Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
Raiders didn't take, and what's up with that?

Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
And then it's like, oh, the Steelers, the Steelers are
gonna take and there's that's his basement in the first round.
And then when the Steelers didn't take him, and then
becomes a big story on and then it seeps into
day three. I get it right, there was the Carolina
team that had its first teamers out there for a drive.

Speaker 3 (01:07:07):
I get it that. You know, the defense softened up
a bit.

Speaker 4 (01:07:11):
But I thought I thought he looked like a guy
that could win football games in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
He made the team based on what he did.

Speaker 4 (01:07:19):
Now, but you gotta remember, we still haven't seen Dylan Gabriel.
I know that, but I think Dylan Gabriel is gonna
make the team. Also, I would get rid of between
Pickett and Flacco and say, really, come on, those guys.
Are you know Flacco's one hundred years old. If he's
gonna play, it's only gonna be for one year. Let's
go with the younger quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:07:37):
Well, we said that two years ago and he led
him to the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Right, but come on, let's go with the younger quarterback,
especially Shador. If he can look like that, he'll get
a lot of experience. Maybe Dylan Gabriel is gonna look good.
I'm gonna have to keep both of them on the team.
I'm not gonna go ahead and cut either one of them.

Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
So you're not like trying to caveat this with anything.
You're just like, yeah, he's made the team. He could
get a battle for the starting job based on that
last night, there's no Hey, it's the first game of
the preseason. We didn't see a lot of starters out.
You don't care. You're like, hey, he's that dude.

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
Yeah, he's that dude. He's gonna have to be one
of the three quarterbacks. I still gonna keep Dylan Gabriel.
I think he can go ahead and be a serviceable
quarterback also, and I'd probably make pick it my starter,
and if things went south to start the season off
or there was any injury, I'm gonna have Chadeurs my
second string.

Speaker 4 (01:08:25):
So you're you're putting on Joe Flacco, who's probably gonna
end up being their opening day starter.

Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
By I know that. I know that, which is the
sad part. I bet you if you ask Cleveland fans
right now what.

Speaker 4 (01:08:36):
They're high off of what just happened last night with
Shador Sanders, Arnie, Yes, they're gonna say that they would
want Shador Sanders to be their starting quarterback or Joe
Flacco to be cut don't you think I.

Speaker 2 (01:08:48):
Would think so. But even if what they wouldn't say Joe.
You think they say Joe Flacco should be cut. They
they're not gonna say Dylan Gabriel or somebody like that
or what.

Speaker 3 (01:08:56):
I don't know what.

Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
They're one of the longest suffering fan bases in football.
They had a good starting quarterback and they booted him
out of town. Because I if I was.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
A Browns fan at this point, I would say, let's
go with Picket, but I want Sanders is my second
stringer just in case, I'll keep Dylan Gabriel was my
third stringer, and I haven't think about it.

Speaker 3 (01:09:16):
Dylan Gabriel yet though.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Yeah, I've seen enough of him in college. But you
don't like him. You're not a fan of his, of
Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 4 (01:09:24):
Yeah, No, I'm sitting here just blown away that you're
ready to cast him aside when you haven't even even
seen him play an NFL game yet, Like you're like.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Oh, I don't need him, I don't need him. He's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
I saw Shador do it to a Carolina Panther cornerback
that was wearing number seventy three.

Speaker 2 (01:09:40):
I mean, get.

Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
Yeah, number seventy three out there playing corner. I mean,
he looked great against him, But I mean I liked
what he saw. But I'm not ready to cast everyone
aside because of it. I want to see a little
bit more of him.

Speaker 2 (01:09:53):
It's more than well, you're not gonna see that much
more of him, are you. I mean the other quarterback's
gonna get in the ready for game shape too. They
got to get ready for the season opener.

Speaker 4 (01:10:03):
I think you're going to see more of them. Well,
you think they might shut him down now after one game?

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
You don't think he'll play more than a quarter if
he does play.

Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
Did he end up how many How long did he
go last night?

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
Did he go the whole game? No, they had somebody
else come in. I don't remember. Off the top of
my head. I think they had somebody else come in.

Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
I had I had the final numbers here for Shador
just for those that haven't had them already, crammed down
your throat here today and the Browns thirty to ten
win over the Carolina Panthers. He finished fourteen of twenty three,
two touchdown y cables.

Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
Yeah, he was sacked twice.

Speaker 4 (01:10:35):
In the ESPN QB rating A one oh six point eight, so,
and he made some of those throws that you know
you saw in the in college. You're like, dang man,
this guy can create. He also ran the ball a
couple of times, four times for nineteen yards, and it
was pretty effective on that front too.

Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
I liked what I saw from him last night, Arnie.
I think I think Browns fans should be very excited.
But more than anything else, we still got a long
way to go in this preseason.

Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
Well obviously it meant a lot because he called out
one of the reporters after the game, going, what are
you gonna write about me? Now? I go pipe down
a little bit one preseason game and he's already calling
out reporters. You have nothing but negative to say about me.
What are you gonna say now?

Speaker 8 (01:11:15):
What?

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
You look good?

Speaker 4 (01:11:16):
One preseason game? You know, pump the breaks? My friend
pumped anyone. Catch the craziness of what Arnie just said.
You literally sat here. He said that you think that
he is gonna be on the second stream quarterback and
he made the team that you're getting mad at him
for a week.

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Butler, though, you can't be that arrogant. You can't start
calling out the the media, you know, on one preseason game.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Though, I think is if there's one thing we've learned
about Dion's family and the Sanders in general, Arnie, that's
never stopped them. One good game has not stopped them
from letting everyone know about it. I thought it looked good.
I'm excited to see him a little bit more. Maybe
that third preseason game he'll end up getting a lot
of action, because I mean, what more do we all
that they need to see from all that boloney?

Speaker 2 (01:12:02):
They're setting him up to fail. They're setting him up
to fail. That was the worst narrative I think I've
heard in a long time. People want to get out there.
It doesn't make a difference who you're playing, who you're
playing with, first team, third team, Federal Express guys, male guys,

(01:12:23):
the guys that work at the supermarket. You just want
to play to prove yourself. And the whole narrative they're
setting him up to fail. I just didn't understand where
that was coming from.

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
That I guess I agree. It's like, hey, we're gonna
give him an opportunity. He's going to start this preseason game.
And that people were like mad it's hot there. You
give him a chance?

Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
How there you?

Speaker 4 (01:12:45):
I think you're kind of guilty of this sometimes too, Arnie,
where you just want to be mad about something and
it's like there's nothing to be mad about here. He
hasn't been getting a lot of reps in practice, and
they thought, hey, you know what, let's go, let's see
how this works out.

Speaker 2 (01:12:57):
But he's only been practicing with the third stringers. How
is it going to be with the first ringers. Well,
you would think you'd be better with the first riggers,
wouldn't you.

Speaker 4 (01:13:05):
You would think that, but apparently not with all talking
out there, n you got a big moment coming up here,
second and goal for the Cowboys, third and goal. Oh,
it's third and goal now, I'm then you're a play
ahead of me. Well, I'm not watching the game. I'm
just watching it.

Speaker 2 (01:13:18):
Oh, you got the game cast out? I got the
game cast out. I'm trying to get in the end zone.
I need this one. Get in there.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
It's twenty four to six. The Rams lead the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
Right now, the Cowboys have a third and goal, and
literally that's probably gonna be the last chance for points.

Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Yeah, because the Rams have just been sitting on a.

Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Pick six or something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:13:39):
Which I thought was gonna end up being the key
here to maybe hooking you up. I thought maybe Jill
Milton might throw a nice little pick six.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
I don't think they'll kick the field goal here. They'll
go for it twice, I believe. Oh, they just had
an illegal motion on the off course. Of course I
push them back. I mean the way I'm watching.

Speaker 4 (01:13:56):
It's kind of funny because sometimes you watch a coach
on the sidelines watching Brian Dayball late in the game.
He's just kind of done, you know, He's like, all right,
let's go home. I'm watching Pete rarolssy, Yeah, drinking coffee,
maybe having a hot dog. I'm watching Pete Carroll on
Thursday night. He's all into it. I'm watching I was
watching here this Rams Cowboys game, and McDermott and their

(01:14:17):
defensive coordinator like losing their mind cheering the guys on
on every place. So for every coach there's a little
bit of an extra ump. Now this is unique because
did I say with durmoin, I'm sorry, Sean McVeigh. McVeigh
never plays anyone during the preseason, anybody, Oh, touchdown, Arnie Oh, yeah, Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
He got your congrats on getting a pick, right.

Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
Finally, finally, Yes.

Speaker 4 (01:14:39):
But it's kind of interesting because m mcveigh's a guy
that doesn't play hardly any starters ever, and like they're
all in on this right now, they're like over on
the sidelines losing their Mind's good, it's good. I can't
wait for Cowboy fans to ignore all the bad from
Joe Milton tonight and be like, man, that last drive,
that was something pretty special.

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
I'm glad you and Hartman really liked the Cowboys this year.
I just want to throw that up there.

Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Again.

Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
This shows today the Dak Prescott. Yeah, but you also
don't have to sound like a dope. Dak Prescott nor
ceed Lamb stepped on the field tonight. Come up, Oh
Ceedee Lamb did, and he got trucked by an official.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
All right, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
When we come back more on preseason. The the record
that's not going to be a record.

Speaker 3 (01:15:19):
A seventy yard field goal was kicked.

Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
Tonight and the Cowboys and the Rams got a pretty
good one going down the stretch. Cowboys get the two
point conversion. It's twenty four to fourteen. The Rams have
the lead. With eight minutes to go in the game.
We're following some fun of the preseason next right here
on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, real quick to
put a wrap on hour number two on you, I'm
curious for your take on Roman numeral number eight. Roman

(01:15:44):
Numeral number eight, the Rand Manning story of the week.
I don't we go without an arch Manning.

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
I think they're just I think they're just saying that
he's going to go ahead and state for a couple
of years. I don't think he's getting do it. I
think they're just kind of playing it so they want
to see who has the number one pick so they
don't have to start doing it at that point. Going well,
we don't know if he wants to come up because
he doesn't want to go to Cleveland or or whatever.

(01:16:12):
But if he has a successful year, then he'll certainly
come out. But I'm not so sure he's gonna have
such a big year. Let's be honest, how long has
it been before he's actually been the starter? He's been there,
what two years? This is his third year, third year there.
He couldn't win the starting job before then.

Speaker 4 (01:16:32):
They would tell you it's not They would tell you
it wasn't a competition. It was Quinn yours.

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Well, I'm not sure about that. I mean, yours played
well too, and he did. He did get some playing
time when yours got hurt. I want to see a
full year of him. It's been a while since we've
seen a full year of what three years since high school.
So let's let's go it. Let's see what he's got.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
I think he's going to be good.

Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
I think we've set an unreachable level for him before
the guy has even taken a snap as a starter. Right,
he played last year against a really bad Mississippi State team.
I think Louisiana in a row or UTSA.

Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Was that long run against one of those teams? Right?

Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
Yeah, exactly, a lot of people had a long run
against UTSA last year.

Speaker 3 (01:17:16):
But I again, I like him. I think he's gonna
be good.

Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
I also think that the way some people are talking
right now, y'all realize it's Cooper's kid, right, It's not Arch,
It's it's not Peyton manning Son. It's not like this
Scooper manning Son. So everybody's calmed down just a bit
because you're a.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Way that the NFL is going to rig it, so
he goes to the Saints.

Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
I don't what if he's not worthy of being the
number one pick in the draft? Have you seen this
kid from South Carolina named Leonora's Sellers? He fits what
most NFL teams are looking for. Right now, I think
Garrett nuss Meyer is a more accomplished pocket passer than
he is. Right now, there's a kid in Oklahoma named
John Matteer who people are starting to realize might be

(01:17:58):
pretty damn good. I don't know, it's not like some
anti Texas thing. I mean, I'm able to become much
more objective whenever I'm on here with Arnie. I don't
let my biases get in the way. But holy smokes man.
And here's another thing. How old is arch Manning right now?
You know he's twenty one years old?

Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Right?

Speaker 4 (01:18:17):
I get it to your grandpa's incredibly famous. But can
we talk for ourselves? Man? Can we have these conversations
where we asked a kid what his plan is instead
of Grandpa or his uncles or him. I mean, we're
kind of at that point now where twenty one, dude,
you're supposed to be the starting quarterback for Texas. I
get it that Archie was just asked a question and

(01:18:39):
he's answered it. But like, what who talks.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
More about their kid Archie d Well, not third kid,
but Archie Dion or Lebron.

Speaker 3 (01:18:50):
So I think it's still Lebron.

Speaker 4 (01:18:52):
I think it might still be Lebron, and in fairness,
it is his grandson.

Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
But you know, it's funny.

Speaker 4 (01:18:58):
That's been the buzz though, and I don't think I
want to disagree or argue with it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
You know, they've there's been.

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
Taking the pressure off it and though so he doesn't
have to say that, right.

Speaker 4 (01:19:07):
Well, I mean, Arnie, this has been not just Archie
Manning saying anything, not just pressure off like in our
in our diehard, Live, eat, sleep breath college football world.
I mean, you ask any of the people that cover
any Staples Josh Pates of the world that you know,
whomever is your college football go to guy. This has
kind of been the known thing that he's gonna see
because they feel like guys that have started for two

(01:19:29):
years have a better opportunity to be more successful in
the league.

Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
Right right, I have to agree with that. Also, get
more starts under your belt. It's hard to go to
just one start one year starting college football and then
be successful in the NFL. He can, he cans totally
benefit for being around for a couple of years. But
then there's all he makes good money too, does he not?

Speaker 8 (01:19:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
He does. I mean we don't.

Speaker 4 (01:19:52):
We don't know what anyone makes, and in iil to
be honest with you, you can do just assume whatever
an agent wants to tell you they're making, which we
find out isn't actually what they're making.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
Or or believe it wouldn't. Remember when I told you
what Cooper Flag was making and you're like, well, that
wasn't true.

Speaker 4 (01:20:08):
That was Yeah, that was some Facebook careumer that was
out there that arnfell for. But more than anything else though,
it does sound good, right, it's like Cooper Flack turned
out twenty twenty eight million dollar off f from Tennessee.
But I'll tell you what it's. It's a lot of
money that they're making in college right now. I don't
think it's as much as as being reported out there
for some of them. And we're trying to get a

(01:20:30):
little bit more on the control in the college sports world.

Speaker 3 (01:20:32):
But you're right.

Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
They they're saying he's making close to seven mil last
year with all of his nil deals and that's pretty healthy.
Not as much as if you're the starting quarterback for
an NFL team and a first round pick, but I
buy it, man. I just would like to hear from
arch More. And by the way, the other thing, I'd
like to actually see him do it before we talk
about him declaring for the NFL Draft. It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
Please.

Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio for Time Power,
our time with the stinking genius Army Span. You'l on
Chris Plank sitting in for the crew tonight and we've
been able to sit and watch preseason football all night long,
which has been pretty fun. The uh yeah, you're over
hitting in a big way. The Rams just tacked on
another touchdown. They're up thirty one to fourteen on the

(01:21:18):
Cowboys right now with three thirty one to go in
that game.

Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Remember when you put up that video of Cduam getting smacked. Yeah,
that is viral. Did you see what's the last car
driver's named Connor? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Dude zilla zi? Yeah, yeah, we can't. We can't joke
about that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
Dude landed on his head.

Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
Oh my good? But was he seriously heard? He didn't
move after that?

Speaker 3 (01:21:42):
Yeah? They took him back to the care center.

Speaker 2 (01:21:44):
Oh my goodness, man.

Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
In fact, uh, he he broke his collar bone.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
Oh, get out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:21:53):
If you haven't seen it, it's honestly, it's something that
when you first see it you kind of laugh. He's like,
because dudes, dude just won the race. He just won
the race in Watkins. Glynn climbing out of Connor Zilich
Arnie's right. He's climbing out of his car, gets one
leg on like where you'd roll down the window, and

(01:22:14):
then the second leg is on the top of the car.
He's getting ready to get on it, and he tumbles
and he falls and his arms don't catch his fall.
It's just boom right on his head. And when you
watch it, it's kinda you laugh and you're like, oh
my gosh, is he dead. He just tweeted moments ago,
thank you everybody for reaching out today. I'm out of

(01:22:34):
the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully cet stands as
scans from my head are clear. I just have a
broken collar bone broke. He was supposed to race in
tomorrow's Cup race, but it looks like they've withdrawn the
eighty seven car that he was going to drive tomorrow.
So when's the race gets hurt in the celebration. You

(01:22:56):
don't see it very often, but I was a scary moment,
Like I turned the race off. I love watching road
course races, and I turn it off. And then all
of a sudden, I see these people that are tweeting
prayers for Connor. Connor, hope you're okay, And I'm like,
what did the guy fall? And you're like, oh, yeah,
he fell in Victory Lane. I've never seen anything like that.

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
No, I didn't. I didn't know he was hurt that bad.
I'm like, wow, when you see emotionless on the ground,
You're like, what is he doing to get up? Man?
But wow, that was quite the fall.

Speaker 7 (01:23:22):
You know.

Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
Probably a good time too, to update the scary story
from when it was that last night's game between the
Lions and the Falcons. Moe Norris, who was injured on
a hit, looks like he's gonna be okay. At least
he tweeted that he's gonna be okay, and I think
he went to Instagram was the social media of his choice.
But that was They didn't show the replay of it
a lot. I don't know if I ever saw replay

(01:23:44):
of it, But it was just that like he was frozen.
You know that that stancey get whenever you have a concussion.
That's so scary. When it kind of paralyzed on the field,
that was frightening to watch.

Speaker 2 (01:23:54):
There was a receiver that got hurt today, Jesus, I
can't remember as well.

Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
He was Bri was talking about. He was on his
dynasty league, he was on a fantasy league.

Speaker 2 (01:24:05):
It was so uncalled for. He was so near the
sideline and he was getting out of bounds and the
guy just went to make the tackle anyway, just to
make a tackle, completely uncalled for. And I guess if
we're talking about injuries Chiefs backup safety Dion Bush, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:24:19):
If you see Achilles injury, Achilles.

Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Injury, it h That's never a good thing when you
say something like that. So it doesn't look like Kilby
back for a while. I guess if it's.

Speaker 4 (01:24:29):
Yeah, it's that that didn't If you got that achilles,
that's not good at all. Oh, it was the Spears,
the running back was injured for the Titan City.

Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
But that's not who you were talking about.

Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
That's not who I'm talking about No, No, it was
it was earlier. It was on the sideline. He was
going he was running like just straight for the sideline.
He wasn't gonna make even a yard, and the defender
just like right when he got to the sideline had
to drag him down and hit him. I mean, it
was just totally uncalled for. And you could tell that

(01:25:00):
he went down on his knee and once he went down,
he didn't get right back up, and you're.

Speaker 3 (01:25:04):
Like, wow, he's not good, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
And he was hurt last year too, So just horrible,
horrible situation.

Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
Well, let's we kick off the power out here.

Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
We only got fifty four minutes left, so time to
pay off some of these breakdowns. Arnie, you owe us
three things that will one hundred percent happen. But before
we get there, Yeah, let's talk about Roman numeral number
three a bit. I've got a few checklist things here.
But after week one in the preseason, I know this,
where do you want to start stinking?

Speaker 2 (01:25:28):
Jimnys something that we've not been able to say. I
don't know if it's been one, two, three, five, ten years,
but the offense one hundred percent ahead of the defense overall, Chris,
I'm not saying in every situation, in every category, but
I would love to know how many games actually went
over the number, then under the number and week one

(01:25:50):
of this preseason. But it looks like it looks like
the offense and these younger quarterbacks are certainly carving up
defenses out there. So I think the offense has a
better scheme of things or a better doing a better
job than the defenses right now, wrong on that, You
don't you don't like that one.

Speaker 4 (01:26:07):
I'm just looking at some of the scores here real quick.
I don't I haven't seen all the over unders, but.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
These are like thirty two, thirty three.

Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
I mean, you're looking at some games that were kind
of ugly, and the Patriots beat up on the Commanders. Yeah,
the Browns beat up on the Panthers. But yeah, I
think I'm with you on that. And I don't know.
You know, it's funny because you might say the offenses
are ahead of the defense, and I think, in the
case of watching the start of the Bengals game, you're right.
But I also feel like that they just teams have

(01:26:36):
better depth on offense than they do on defense. Once
you get past that first line of defenders. It's like, oh,
but on offense, hey, you can find a guy that
can run fast and get away from a guy on defense.
I mean, I was watching very intently that Giants Bills
game at the end of the first half, and you
just had a wide receiver that probably should have scored
a touchdown just there's like thirteen seconds left in the

(01:26:58):
half right there at mid field, you know which play
I'm talking about, their midfield and a Bill's wide receiver
just absolutely runs right past the defender it with like
thirty seconds left in the first half, and it led
to a field goal for the for the Bills at the.

Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
End of the touchdown, I know it should have been Yeah,
it was to talking about it.

Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
Yeahoe Shavers. She was second and three at the Buffalo
thirty eight and there were fifteen seconds left the Buffalo
thirty eight yard line, Arnie, and a dude gets it's
the only play that can hurt you and it wasn't
an all out blitz and a guy gets open for
fifty eight yards?

Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
Like, how do you let that happen? So I was
gonna say a second that after week one is and
we brought this up earlier, and I don't know if
I've ever said this before, but the second stringers quarterback wise,
they seem like they've got a pretty good grasp of
the offense. And I'm talking to Zoan Sanders in there.
Jackson Dart Weather a second stringer. He's a third stringer actually,

(01:27:57):
but you know what I mean, the backups for the
most part, there were some big numbers by some of
these backup quarterbacks, whether there's second or third string. I
don't think we usually see that in the preseason. Uh,
these type of numbers right now.

Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
What the numbers from Jackson Dart were pretty impressive today.

Speaker 2 (01:28:15):
The it was pretty impressive today.

Speaker 3 (01:28:18):
But again Bennet's Pana McGee.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
We brought that up to.

Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
Yeah, he was pretty but again that's a third year
guy that your's I'm not saying.

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
I said mostly backups though, you know what I mean, backups.
You're right, their third year guys, But just the backups
look like they're, you know, ready to make a difference
if they have to come on. And I struggled to
the Dolphins with six games where they didn't have Tua,
and I just felt horrible no matter who they brought in.
I'm like, oh, this is just miserable. It was killing me.
It was destroying me.

Speaker 4 (01:28:48):
Did you happen to look back to see if any
of those quarterbacks had a good preseason?

Speaker 2 (01:28:52):
Handley had had more completions in the preseason today than
he had like six weeks with the Dolphins, I.

Speaker 3 (01:28:57):
Believe, But I think he had a pretty good preseason last.

Speaker 4 (01:29:00):
I think you're busy telling us that, hey, we're okay,
we got we got too buddy now or whatever. I
just I think I hear you. I don't disagree with you,
but I do think we need to pull back just
a bit. And I know the shows tonight, and I
understand that this is finally you give a starving man
a cracker, and he's gonna tell you it's the greatest

(01:29:20):
cracker he's ever had. We've been so hungry to react
to anything.

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
I mentioned.

Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
I mentioned that. But don't you think we need to
put a restrictor plate on this? Just a bit?

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
No, no, no, let's go. We've been waiting how long.
I'm not gonna don't tell me to eat fast, eat slow.
If I haven't eaten in six months, I'll eat as
fast as I want.

Speaker 4 (01:29:41):
Well, you're gonna have to eat slow because you're gonna
make yourself sick. So what I'm saying is, don't let's
not make fools out of ourself by sitting here and
saying that every second stream quarterback should be starters in
the NFL right now because Tanner McKee and others look good.
What do you think of JJ McCarthy and his drive
that he had for the Viking six, which, by the way,
I'm surprised you didn't have Sam Howell in your Hall

(01:30:02):
of Fame either.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
Yeah, he had the field goal. Yeah how was what
like eleven or thirteen or something. But the Vikings was
JJ had the field goal than the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:30:09):
Is that what it was? Yep?

Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
Yeah, I don't know. He only had one drive. Okay,
he only had one drive in the world them on
the touchdown drive. Sam Hall hat him on any touchdown drive.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
Obviously. I want to see a lot more with him,
and especially how he's going to work with the first teamers.
I really can't get a gauge on him, but I
think he's gonna be okay. I don't think he's going
to be as good as Cousins was. To be honest
with you, Vikings may go do a difficult time this
year may not be so easy for them this.

Speaker 4 (01:30:38):
Year after not even a full week of the NFL preseason.
I do know this, or at least I think I
know this, and I know that it's going to be
a hard thing to truly quantify. Have be given enough
disclaimers that I'm not trying to get too carried away
on the preseason.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
The Patriots did look.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Different, Oh they did. I have to say that that's
for shi.

Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
Patriots look God forbid, and I'll tell you why. Because
Traveon Henderson looked like the kind of playmaker that this
team needed. Now, don't get me wrong, I love my guy,
Ramandere Stevenson. I think he's pretty special. You loved him
the Oklahoma guy, juco guy had a great bowl game
and a great career at Oklahoma. But you can use

(01:31:16):
a guy that might have a little bit more juice
to him. And Traveon Henderson, not just with the kick
return for a touchdown, but in general throughout the entire
game looked really good. So they've got the Vikings next week.
You could tell they were a little fired up too.
I know Brady had the ceremony and he he got
loose and that was fun.

Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
To see.

Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
But I did dig some people that start looking into everything.
With the Commanders, It's like, oh my gosh, they got
be forty eight to eighteen. You know, what's what's going on?
You're like, well, first of all, none of their starters played,
Like the Patriots got out to a seventeen to zero
lead and they had all the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Stars jobs on the line, and see Mike you.

Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
Know, yeah exact. I mean literally they were playing with
their hair on fire. When Washington was like, oh, bro,
I thought we were coming here for a preseason game
or something.

Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
It's like the Seahawks, aren't he what? Another thing?

Speaker 4 (01:32:06):
I think I know after Week one of the preseason,
like the Seahawks and the Raiders played during the regular season, Like,
what is Mike McDonald doing. He's out there running exotic blitzes.
It's like, you're you're doing You're you're giving away all
your little secrets here in the preseason. What just to
try to force Gino Smith to have a three and out?
I just I was blow it away by that on

(01:32:27):
Thursday night, to see how it's a preseason. You don't
want to get too carried away their game plan. It's
a little shocked by how blitz happy that Seattle was
doing that game on Third's.

Speaker 2 (01:32:37):
Gino giving the middle finger salute to some of the
fans out there. Huh.

Speaker 4 (01:32:42):
They were all over them, weren't they. They'll get fine
he and Max Crosby, they'll get fine for it.

Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
I mean they take it a little personal. Come on, man,
what do you care? It was somebody holding up a
sign saying that him and JaMarcus Russell the most overrated
players ever.

Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
Right, So you can't flip that person off.

Speaker 2 (01:33:00):
I don't know, would you want to really flip that
person off and gets you under the skin. Really doesn't
bother you?

Speaker 3 (01:33:05):
Do you get bothered and read the text of people
that say mean things.

Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
No, I don't get bothered by you. I once said
something to Charles Barkley in the middle of the basketball game,
and I can't repeat what he said to me, but
he said some bad words to me in the middle
of the game. I didn't think he heard me, though.

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Hold on a second. Yeah, in the middle of an
NBA game.

Speaker 2 (01:33:25):
It was a preseason I was sitting courtside, okay, preseason NBA,
getting court side with a ESPN's anchor because I was
trying to impress him.

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
You start, So you start with Steve Levy there.

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Yeah, he got to start courtside cussing at I didn't
curse him. I just said, why don't you play some
blank in defense for once in your life? Oh it's
only a preseason game. Work play defense, right, you don't
play defense in the regular season game. And he looked
over at me and he knew I did sports radio there,
and he just said, why know you?

Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
You know, go blank yourself? How did he know you
did sports radio? Do you have a shirt on or something?

Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
No, you can tell I was very popular. I was
a big deal.

Speaker 4 (01:34:09):
Just asking, well, I understand that, but like, were you
on billboards or something like?

Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
How did he know? Was it just your voice?

Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
No, everybody knows who I was in that town. Come on, man,
I was like, I'm a big deal. Like I told
you you were.

Speaker 4 (01:34:21):
You were a big deal in Phoenix and you went
and you had Charles Barkley coming after you. Okay, And
I'm not here to judge. Congratulations, thank you, thank you,
a couple of other things.

Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
So don't don't don't take it so personal, gino. Just
with somebody has a sign up, you had to give
him the middle fingers. My goodness, man.

Speaker 4 (01:34:37):
How do we not know that they weren't messing with
him too?

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
So I like, you don't hear them, no, no, no no.

Speaker 4 (01:34:43):
I meant like Gino and Max Crosby kind of just
messing with them back. Could be like, I just I
have no idea, but it's just the fact that they're
now like they're gonna get fine.

Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
Why because they flipped the guy off? I mean, what
do we even do it anymore? Man?

Speaker 4 (01:34:57):
And it's funny because I do think there's this line
where as fans, we think we can get away with
saying anything we want to these dudes, knowing full well
that they would pumble the absolute hell Like if Charles
Barkley would have turned around and come after you, he
would have beat your ass.

Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
You know, I hope I'm pretty strong. I was young
at the time. Of course they would have beat my ass.
What do you think?

Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
By the way, you must feel confident after Gino Smith
won won for three, right, youst.

Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
I know because I don't get drunk on the preseason
like you.

Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
Just that made you feel good, though, you're like, yeah,
the reason mid season four, I'm gonna be a good
year by the Raiders this year.

Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
Yeah, no, you know what, I think they're gonna suck.
I'm never gonna watch a game this year because of
one drive.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
You got your pumped up last year. Look what happened, Arnie.
You get pumped up every single year.

Speaker 3 (01:35:43):
Don't you other people down.

Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
Let me tell you something. This is different. I was wrong.
I wasn't wrong about the Dolphins last year. They just
had injuries. Okay, I wasn't wrong about them. There's a difference.

Speaker 3 (01:35:59):
That's the definition of being wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:36:01):
No. No, nobody can't anticipate injuries. You can't figure that out.
Come on, now, what are you crazy? That's why you
don't guarantee anything. This is their year. That's why you
don't promise anything. I mean, these are squeal squeal, that's
my that's my dolphin sound of effect.

Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
Yeah, it sounds very much like the two other things
I will say that I learned so far in week
one of the preseason. It is an incredible kind of
balance to see where people will put a lot into
it and people won't like, for instance, you saying all
these great things about shit or Sanders, and then you know,
not wanting to sell say, I don't know, maybe the
Broncos looking good, but I will say I think I

(01:36:45):
think the Giants are going to be better just based
on kind of what I saw.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
I'm trying not to get too carried away.

Speaker 4 (01:36:51):
And you've been a very anti Trevor Lawrence guy over
the last few years, maybe because he hasn't just set
the world on fire whenever they came in exactly. But
this was the first game that we saw him as
the Jaguar starting quarterback in a new offense. And I
know they didn't go down and score on his first drive,
but I thought he looked pretty good. I thought he
looked pretty good today, finished six of seven for forty

(01:37:13):
three yards.

Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
He's got to got a restaurant on him to have
a big year, right at least.

Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
Yeah, they played four quarterbacks today.

Speaker 4 (01:37:20):
And then the other thing that I kind of get you,
I guess sometimes it just takes getting out of Miami, right,
Remember how we were clowning on the Steelers quarterback room
and how terrible it was, and you bringing Aaron Rodgers.
Welcome to the preseason Hall of Fame, Skyler Thompson.

Speaker 2 (01:37:35):
Yeah, I saw that. My goodness, man, that's more than
you ever did for the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (01:37:39):
For crying out loud, twenty of twenty eight, two hundred
and thirty three yards and three touchdown pass that's more.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
Than preseason Hall of Fame. That's that's the preseason MVP
right there. My goodness.

Speaker 4 (01:37:52):
All right, with some of your tweets. When we come
back at Sticking Genius one, I'm at Plank Show. Everybody
go follow us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):

Say something nice about Arnie again.

Speaker 4 (01:38:12):
Your search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcast,
and you'll see today's show posted right after we get
off the air right here on Fox Sports Radio. Do
you see this tweet that our buddy Bill Krackenberger just sent.
You can hear them all morning on the best pregame
show in the world. He said, Uh, you know you've

(01:38:32):
been big on Vegas and how it's getting a little overpriced.
Right in the food court, he bought two slices of
pizza and a soda our pop or coke or whatever
you guys call it. Two slices of pizza and a pop.
What do you think the price would be on that?
Not a pete fool pizza normally.

Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
Thirty three dollars, which is ridiculous. It's absolutely I saw
somebody said that it was six fifty for a chucolate
cookie inside the Starbucks on the strip. They're pricing people out.
People like, why are coming wired? People coming to Vegas anymore?
Younger people like the age of twenty to thirty feel
like they no longer have to go to Vegas to gamble.

(01:39:14):
There's so many different ways to gamble on your devices.
You don't have to go to Vegas for that. And two,
it's so expensive, not only to fly. And they had
those resort fees for the hotel rooms. And it used
to be Chris when we went back to Vegas for
the day, you know you were getting a bargain. Go
get a steak dinner for ten dollars, or you know

(01:39:34):
you're drinking for free if you gambled or or something
like that. Now it's it's just terrible what they do.
I just can't believe it.

Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
I'm I'm sorry, crack and those of you Todd Freemen
will be with us tomorrow night in hour number two.
So it's get a little price out there. And you're
mister you're mister Vegas because I am Arnie Vegas. Arnie,
you can open up your phone and bet any time
anywhere you want that because gambling and now is it
legal in Connecticut too?

Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
I'm not sure. I think it is. Yeah, I think
it is.

Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
I'm both to be Oh, you're in Vermont, still so
in Vermont, but I've.

Speaker 2 (01:40:06):
Been going to Connecticut, so I think.

Speaker 4 (01:40:07):
But yet you you still don't like to do that,
nor do you ever do it because you want the
experience of being I was.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Supposed to go to Seinfeld tonight. I'm bummed out. My
wife texted. He said he was fantastic. He's just so
funny and so smart. So I missed Jerry tonight, too bad,
because I wanted to meet him. I wanted to go
backstage and meet him. Right And.

Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Because your brother in law owns the.

Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
Arena, he does own the arena. That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:40:30):
In the midst of all the preseason fun that we're
having right now, there is an interesting note in the
college football world beyond Archie Manning saying that his grandson
is going to stay in college for two more years,
which we've been talking about a lot, uh before Archie
Manning mentioned it. There's also this welcome to another offseason
of groomers. John Gruden was speaking with the Georgia Bulldogs.

(01:40:54):
Now we can't play it on the air, but he said,
I'm being honest with you. I do not BS either.
I want to coach again. I die to coach in
the SEC. I would love it. I would fing love it. So,
you know, automatically you start looking around college football and
what fan base got all fired up about that the

(01:41:15):
Arkansas Razorbacks.

Speaker 2 (01:41:17):
Is he going to come back? Is he going to
be giving a chance to coach again. I don't think
he's going to be given a chance in the NFL,
but maybe college though I know, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:41:26):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:41:29):
Here's here's the full quote. The only reason I really
came here is because I want to coach again. I'm
being honest with you. I do not be s either.
I want to coach again. I die to coach in
the SEC. I would love it. I would f ing
love it. I'll tell you guys this what I know
about the SEC is it's getting harder. The SEC is
getting harder. They tell me Texas is the SEC. They
tell me Oklahoma is the SEC. Gdkeys would you by yet?

Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
Would you go with a younger?

Speaker 3 (01:41:57):
Oh, I don't think it's passed and by at all
of the CITA.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
How old is Grudin now?

Speaker 4 (01:42:01):
I would I'm gonna guess here before I'm gonna say sixty.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
Were good for his agent because he looks like he's
in his mid forties to sixty one. He's sixty good.

Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
Yeah, I think it a place like Arkansas, he'd be fantastic.
I think he would be fantastic because and I say
this a lot. You know, whenever the Nick Saban stuff
came out, there was a lot of people that thought
whenever the rumor was that Nick Saban might end up.
Greg McElroy said it at the start of SEC media
days that he heard from his source that Saban wants
to coach again, but he doesn't believe it. And everyone's like, oh,

(01:42:33):
it would be the pros and not college guys. College
is more pro life than ever, and the recruiting world
is a little different now because.

Speaker 2 (01:42:42):
You know, not going for trips all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:42:44):
I mean, you still do, but you don't have to
whine and dine in woo him. You basically be.

Speaker 4 (01:42:47):
How much you want you know what we can get
you close to that? Why don't you come play with me?
And you got a general manager now, and you've got
a scouting department, I mean the college football world. If
you're at a place that is committed to that kind
of staff and that kind of funds, dude, it's I'm
not saying it's easier, but it's less stressful than it
was in the coaches before.

Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
Started the bottom and work your way up and see
who to hire. Gruden, is that what you do?

Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Maybe maybe you know the.

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
River Mississippi State last year.

Speaker 4 (01:43:19):
I think Mississippi State is in the process of giving
a guy time. I don't think they're gonna bun on
Jeff Levy after one year. I mean, could you, I mean,
could you have imagined, after everything that went wrong for
Lane Kiffin with the Raiders that he would ever be
a head coach again?

Speaker 3 (01:43:32):
Yeah, he saw on his like fourth coaching jobs.

Speaker 4 (01:43:35):
It's then right now again, there wasn't you know, homophobic
labor language and some of the slurs that grew news
as emails, But I mean that the.

Speaker 2 (01:43:43):
NFL though that there is a little bit of a
difference there.

Speaker 4 (01:43:46):
I assume, But I think you also get in the
world wearing the college ranks. There's a lot of people
that will push back on that that you wouldn't. I
think it'd be more apt to happen in the NFL
than the college ranks when you get on some of
these campuses. And who do you think you're left? Get
on a college campus right now. They can't be more left.
So I think it would be hard on that front
with Gruden. But I mean, if you're looking to try

(01:44:09):
to juice up your program a little bit, why not
it's a place like Arkansas, like.

Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
If as well as you're like just one of the
worst D one teams like Kent State or.

Speaker 3 (01:44:19):
Well, he wouldn't take a Kent State jobs.

Speaker 2 (01:44:22):
He's dying to get back to the coaching maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:44:24):
No, no, no, he said, I'm dying to coach in
the SECS is what he said. Yeah, so, I you know,
maybe that is a floater to be like, hey call
me right now.

Speaker 3 (01:44:32):
I'd be interested Kent State or whomever.

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
But anybody called me.

Speaker 4 (01:44:36):
He wasn't mentioned for any of the NFL vacancies outside
of the Raiders this year, you know, and the reason
what about the Raiders was his love of Mark Davis.

Speaker 3 (01:44:45):
What's that? I'm sorry, Aubert?

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
What was Auburt? Auburn was didn't have a great year
last year?

Speaker 4 (01:44:48):
I know, he Freezes on the hot seat. He gotta win,
he gotta win now. And Hugh Freeze is a guy.
When you want to talk about digging into people's backgrounds,
y'all spend some time looking at what Hugh Freeze did
near the end at all miss and they look right
past that and gave him a job.

Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
Look at Bobby Petrino. Guess where Bobby.

Speaker 4 (01:45:04):
Patron's coaching right now, the place where he caused all
the problems.

Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
So in a college world, man, you can win for us.
We're forgiving you forget, that's for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:45:13):
Yeah, all right, Bree, He's got to get us caught
up on all the NFL action that's going on, including
pretty dominating performance tonight from the Jets who are looking
to cash it in, but much much more. Brandon Merrill,
what's what with what's trending?

Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
What's up?

Speaker 2 (01:45:24):
Bree?

Speaker 7 (01:45:25):
Hey guys? Okay, so yes, you just said about justin fields.
He played one series, forty two yards, one rushing touchdown.
So happy for all the Jets fans that we have
here at the station. Hopefully that oh stop it what
I'm just trying to be positive.

Speaker 10 (01:45:39):
Yeah, there's a lot of them here. You would be surprised.

Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
Damn, who cares about?

Speaker 10 (01:45:44):
What are you talking about?

Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
You have to be inclusive to everybody, Arnie. No, okay,
well that's your problem. That's not my problem.

Speaker 10 (01:45:51):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:45:51):
First overall pick cam Ward went five for eight along
with sixty seven yards to leave the Titans to a
sixty five yard touchdown drive. Running Back Tajy Spears was
carted off to the locker room with the right lower
leg injury. Buck safety Shiloh Sanders entered the second half
of the game, had two tackles and one QB hit.

Speaker 10 (01:46:10):
If you look up the plays on Twitter, it was great.
It was a great hit. You guys should check it out.

Speaker 7 (01:46:16):
First round Jack's first round pick, Travis Hunter did play
on both sides of the ball today. Ten snaps on offense,
eight snaps on defense, one mistackle in that Cowboys Rams game.
Congratulations to Arnie for picking the over thirty three. Yes,
your congratulations, Like are you gonna like buy.

Speaker 10 (01:46:32):
Us all like jewelry? Okay, wonderful.

Speaker 7 (01:46:36):
Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett, the original Tyler Schuck, passed for
one hundred and eighty eight yards and two touchdowns. Rams
running back Blake Koram running back Blake Korum that just
doesn't sound good, had two touchdowns in the game. Cowboys
quarterback Joe Milton passed for one hundred and forty three
yards before he heard his elbow in the fourth quarter.
He threw a touchdown pass and had an interception. Went

(01:46:59):
seventeen for in Major League Baseball. The Mariners retired each
Ro Suzuki's number and announced.

Speaker 10 (01:47:05):
They will build a statue in his honor. So that
should be nice.

Speaker 7 (01:47:09):
Hopefully that'll look better than Dwayne Wade's statue.

Speaker 10 (01:47:13):
Alrighty back to you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:47:14):
Have a good night tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:47:17):
Maybe I'll see you next Friday night.

Speaker 10 (01:47:18):
Who knows, Yes, I missed you.

Speaker 3 (01:47:21):
I mean you replaced me pretty quick. I mean that's
just the thing.

Speaker 4 (01:47:24):
I mean, it was like, hey, look these are my guys,
but no, we'll see next Friday night. Brit and I
do a show, The Playing Show from one A to
four a Central time.

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Ouch.

Speaker 4 (01:47:33):
He closed football season though, so it might have to
bid a dude that.

Speaker 2 (01:47:36):
Like, how did you like the new graphics they do
in the first down whatever they call it?

Speaker 4 (01:47:42):
Oh, the when you talk about instead of the chain gang. Yeah, yeah,
the virtual spotting of the football.

Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
But it's not the it's not the spotty. The referee
still spotted and they're going to spot it wrong and
that's where all the controversy is gonna be. So it
really doesn't settle it.

Speaker 3 (01:47:58):
The virtual measurement.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
Yeah, the virtual measurement, but it doesn't really settle anything. Chris,
As far as I'm concerned.

Speaker 4 (01:48:04):
I think it's dumb. We you know we did this
two preseasons ago, did we? Yeah, maybe it was three?
Go back, we did three the year that Josh McDaniel
and the Raiders went undefeated in the preseason. We had
the virtual we had the virtual measurement for as the
Raiders played in the Hall of Fame game, and I
remember watching it.

Speaker 3 (01:48:23):
I'm like, this is dumb.

Speaker 4 (01:48:24):
You're watching the big screen, or at least in this case,
and it shows you the football and then the line
goes sliding in. You know, maybe there's a place for it,
but I call me old fashioned. But I kind of
like the drama of the chain gang running out there
a couple of fat guys and everyone's watching around and
see the dudes jump up and.

Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
Down and they're pointing the wrong direction if it goes
their way.

Speaker 3 (01:48:44):
I just I kind of like that.

Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
What cracks me up about spotting the football though, when
the referee puts down his foot, where does he put
the football, Like in the middle of where his foot is?
Do you put the end of the football or your
toes are? Do you put the beginning of the football
where your toes are? So I never understood. And then
when you pick it up after spotting it and you
have to throw it to the other referee who's going

(01:49:07):
to spot it for for a snap, how do you
know he's standing exactly even with you? You know what
I mean? Because the guy's like five, you know, five
yards away and you're kind of tossing of the ball.
How do you know he's all like an inch or
two off. The whole thing is crazy the way they
do it now. Geez.

Speaker 3 (01:49:23):
So it sounds like you're a fan.

Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
Uh No, I'm not a fan of I mean, it
doesn't solve anything. It's still where the referees are going
to place it and they're gonna place it wrong. It's two.
It's impossible to get it right. I mean, my goodness,
to the very inch of it. It's it's just crazy
the way. But I kind of like the graphics though.
Do you like the graphics on it?

Speaker 4 (01:49:44):
I feel like they look like they're taking us back
to like nineteen ninety or something. Hey, can we can
we pay off from a numeral eleven here before we
put a rap on this show?

Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:49:52):
What you've already given us one, there's three things that
Arnie is one hundred percent guarantee that will happen in
the NFL all this show, which, by the way, we
should point out he can't guarantee anything because you just
said that you can't quantify injuries or anything of that nature.
So number one we already know is that the Colts
are going to be the worst team in the NFL
according to Arnie, right.

Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
Right, that's absolutely They're gonna be miserable. This is okay,
they though already have the number one pick, Thank you
very much. There, All right?

Speaker 3 (01:50:20):
What's number two?

Speaker 2 (01:50:21):
Number two that I can one hundred percent guarantee, uh,
because it hasn't happened in twenty years, but that's going
to come to an end because Philadelphia is gonna win
the division in the NFC East. I know they haven't
had back to back winners in twenty years, but there's
nobody else. It can't be the Cowboys and it can't
be the Giants. All it is is Philadelphia and Washington,

(01:50:44):
and Washington is still not good enough to compete with Philly.
So we know one hundred percent that Philip one hundred
percent that Philadelphia is already gonna win the division. That's guaranteed.
They're mathematically locked that that division's locked up already. Forget
about it. When Breed does the update, she should just say,

(01:51:04):
and the NFC East winner, Philadelphia Eagles, wait and see
who they play in the playoffs. That's the way we
should be doing the updates. Okay, and number three, Number three, well,
you don't do injuries. But Aaron Rodgers, there's no way
he's gonna make it through seventeen games. Guaranteed, he's not
making it through every game. He's going to get hurt,

(01:51:27):
he's gonna take a hit, he's gonna look lousy out there,
and he's gonna have to take some time off. It's
going to be a miserable, miserable year for Aaron Rodgers.
He's gonna wish he retired by the time he's halfway
through this season.

Speaker 3 (01:51:41):
Why uh, why?

Speaker 2 (01:51:43):
Why anti Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 4 (01:51:44):
You don't like the the highlights that have been coming
out of him looking like an old man trying to.

Speaker 2 (01:51:49):
Go through Did you see that yet? He looked? He
looked worse than me. He can't move me. He moves
slow than I didn't for crying out loud, I'm like,
oh my goodness, he's gonna get pounded out there.

Speaker 4 (01:51:59):
Well, I kind of think it's gonna work. I can't
think it's gonna work in Pittsburgh. I think they might
be pretty damn good.

Speaker 2 (01:52:06):
Now I can guarantee you are the kids that I
can guarantee you they won't win the division.

Speaker 3 (01:52:11):
I probably know what it's gonna get to the point.

Speaker 4 (01:52:14):
It's gonna get to the point with your guarantees that
they're gonna end up putting disclaimer on our show.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
No no need disclaimers when.

Speaker 4 (01:52:20):
You're right you're I don't think the Cults are gonna
be the worst team in the NFL. Aren't he what division.
Do they play in the worst division? That's right, So
you're gonna probably end up backing into at least three
wins out of there.

Speaker 2 (01:52:33):
No, no believe, they're they're horrible. They're just they're horrible.
Come on, man, do you watch football? Do you not
watch football? For crying out loud?

Speaker 4 (01:52:42):
I guess I don't because I don't see the Colts
as one of the worst teams.

Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
In the Who do you have as the worst team
in the NFL?

Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
The Saints?

Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
Yeah, you're just the anti Saints on this. On them,
they're just norance.

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
On the Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:52:56):
Then if they can't get out of their way, the
if they start off to a good year, you're gonna
look pretty sillyell.

Speaker 4 (01:53:02):
I guess I don't understand the why behind this with
the Colts. They have a You sat here last year
and told me that you thought Daniel Jones would be
an NFL starter, and it's crazy people aren't talking about him.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
He may he may start this year when it's all
said and done. If Anthony Richardson did you see him
get hit.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
The other day practice?

Speaker 2 (01:53:22):
He was like a statue. He's like just standing there.

Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
A running back missed a block and he got destroyed.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
But didn't you see it coming? It only took the
guy twenty minutes to get there.

Speaker 4 (01:53:34):
Geez, they draft the best tight end I think in
the draft they add what I think is an explosive
running back in dj Gins late.

Speaker 3 (01:53:43):
I don't understand this disdain?

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Did you?

Speaker 4 (01:53:45):
Was it you watching them or something? Against the Ravens?
Was it because Richardson got hurt?

Speaker 8 (01:53:50):
Like?

Speaker 3 (01:53:50):
Where did you?

Speaker 2 (01:53:52):
A crappy year? Daniel Jones ain't gonna get it done.
They have no quarterback. It's gonna be horrible for them.

Speaker 3 (01:53:59):
What quarterbacks situation? Would you look?

Speaker 2 (01:54:01):
I mean, you don't think you don't think Trevor Lawrence
is any good?

Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
So he's in this.

Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
I always was on Trevor's side when he first got
into the league, and he did get a playoff victory
right against the Cowboys and not.

Speaker 3 (01:54:15):
Yeah let's go with that against the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (01:54:17):
It's all I got. That's all I got to hang
my hat on.

Speaker 3 (01:54:19):
What do you want to do against the Chargers?

Speaker 2 (01:54:21):
But I mean, whatever, that's all I got to hang
my hat on. Yeah, exactly, this is this is what
you came for tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:54:28):
Do hear about that Jaguars playoff went over the Cowboys.
It was the Chargers. They're a different They're in different conferences,
aren't he? Jags are the AFC, the Cowboys in the NFC,
said the Cowboys. All right, when we come back, do
you do picks on Saturday night? I'll do some picks.

Speaker 2 (01:54:46):
I mean, I'm starting to get red hot again, so
people want to get my picks.

Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
By the way, By the way, just looked red hot
to me.

Speaker 9 (01:54:52):
Just looked up the Super Bowl odds and the Colts
have the twelfth.

Speaker 3 (01:54:57):
Twelfth worst odds winning Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
Oh, I'm ahead of my game.

Speaker 3 (01:55:02):
Now FanDuel thinks there's eleven teams worse than the Colts.

Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
I'm ahead of my game. I should be making the
odds for FanDuel.

Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
Did you not just hear what he said?

Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
Yeah? I did twelve eleven teams that are worse than
the Colts, Falcons, Jaguars.

Speaker 9 (01:55:15):
It's Dolphins, Raiders, Panthers, Titans, Giants, a lot of anti Saints, a.

Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
Lot of anti Dolphin out there. I don't know what's
going on.

Speaker 4 (01:55:23):
You anti Dolphin. I mean, do I need to go
back to the text you sent me the other day.

Speaker 2 (01:55:28):
Don't go by that. I'm very emotional at the time.
All right, don't go bow, why I sent you? That's
not fair.

Speaker 4 (01:55:33):
When we come back, Arnie's picks and a couple of
tweets to take us home on a busy Saturday night
right here on Fox Sports Radio Fun Show, Fast Show tonight,
Man flew By, I can't believe we're already done because
we got to show them on night too. Yes, sir,
we're not gonna just do the same things for three hours.
Dolphins play tomorrow, and if they win, you're gonna be

(01:55:58):
just telling everyone out is two even gonna play?

Speaker 2 (01:56:03):
I think so?

Speaker 4 (01:56:04):
Really figure they put him on bubble wrap to me, Wow,
I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:56:09):
Wouldn't you No, I get him out there, seriously. No fear,
no fear.

Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
You have all the fear in the world.

Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
I know, but I'd like I have. No I'm not
gonna win this Chiefs Cardinals game. That's not gonna happen. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:56:24):
You're not gonna win any of your bests tonight outside
of the over.

Speaker 2 (01:56:27):
I'm two and two right now tonight and four two
and three. I had five picks.

Speaker 3 (01:56:35):
You had the Jets.

Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
I had Green Bay, Yeah, green Bay and that's a loss.
And the Bills two losses. I had Minnesota and the Rams.
That was over, so you're gonna finish two and three,
two and three. I have Kansas City minus three and
they're getting They're gonna get cooked by the Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (01:56:52):
They are getting cooked. So that's not good.

Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
Every since you started talking, trash Man has done nothing
but go downhill for you.

Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
I'll tote it around tomorrow. I got an easy one.
There's a guarantee tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
JP Rights.

Speaker 4 (01:57:05):
The preseason was the free season for Arnie in Week one,
but it's starting to look like the preseason is the
free season after looking at his latest picks. Now it's
just a matter of time before he quits and stops
making preseason picks and says, it's all about the regular season.

Speaker 2 (01:57:19):
That's what you got everybody thinking, I'm gonna do.

Speaker 3 (01:57:22):
That's what you've done each of the last three years.

Speaker 4 (01:57:24):
Now, like two years, Michael Wrights, looks like you're hammering
your preseason picks again.

Speaker 2 (01:57:33):
So bad, Eric, so good, get the picks. I need
to know who to bet against.

Speaker 4 (01:57:39):
All right, take it away what you got for the
games tomorrow in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
All right, give me a little music, give me something good.
Put me in the mood. You don't put me in
the mood anymore, for crying out loud. We only have
two games I hate when they play this music, the
Bears and the Dolphins. And we know the Bears dominated
that practice yesterday. Wasn't even funny. Dolphins are not a
good preseason team, at least early on. Gotta take the Bears.

(01:58:09):
Love the Bears minus three in this one and take
the over thirty five and a half. I think we'll
see some points in this one. In the other game,
I'm taking the Chargers and I'm getting a point against
your god awful Saints playing who you think is the
worst team in the NFL. So there you have my picks.

(01:58:29):
Two of themsge and please no longer strictly for entertainment
purposes only. That's all we have for tomorrow. That's it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
Yeah, but I mean it is done.

Speaker 4 (01:58:37):
I like what they do in the preseason, and I'm
glad they don't Well what am I saying?

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
They usually do it in the regular season.

Speaker 4 (01:58:45):
Now we have games like every single day of the week,
but I like how they stretch it out a little bit.
You know, ye had Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. There's no
Monday game this week, and then next week same thing. Friday,
Saturday Sunday, we get them Monday Day night EAD Cincinnati
mingles in Washington next Monday night.

Speaker 2 (01:59:03):
Real quick, I said to that article, no doubleheader Monday
night football anymore. That's going to be taking off the books.

Speaker 3 (01:59:08):
Oh it is? What made what made that decision? Why
do they make it?

Speaker 2 (01:59:12):
Because of the new deal. They want to get as
many games as possible, So there's not gonna be any
more doubleheaders?

Speaker 4 (01:59:18):
Oh wow, there's there's actually one in Week two this year.
The Raiders and the Chargers are the second game that
double header. I think it's the only Monday night football
game the Raiders get all year long. They okay, what
we'll put you on late, and then there's a second one.

Speaker 2 (01:59:32):
Get this in week what wee come up with?

Speaker 3 (01:59:34):
In Week four?

Speaker 4 (01:59:35):
You've got a Monday night doubleheader of your Jets are
your Jets? I'm sorry, The Jets and your Dolphins are
the first game, and then the nightcap is Cincinnati at Denver. Wow,
that might be a pretty good game. But yeah, I
feel like we got a few more. Usually it's like
one a season, but last two years they oh, there's
a third one. We got a third doublet.

Speaker 2 (01:59:53):
We're gonna stop that. They're going to put an end
to that.

Speaker 4 (01:59:55):
I don't like the Monday night football double headers, especially
now that I have to get up early. I mean
there's there's one in a week, there's back to back weeks.
There in week six, they're in week seven. We got
a ton of them. So get away, get him out
of here. I'm done with them. I'm done with the
doubleheaders on Monday night football. Give me, give me less
of those. That's a good thing, but it has nothing
to do with like the red zone or anything like that.

(02:00:16):
It's just say ESPN's gonna shift that up. Or was
that an NFL decision?

Speaker 2 (02:00:20):
I think it was the ESPN decision there. I sent
to the article. Maybe we'll go through it tomorrow night
and you'll see what it's about.

Speaker 4 (02:00:27):
Well, that plenty of time, So again, the whole crew
comes back in tomorrow night. Yes, Ian Roddy, great job produced.
Awesome job by Mary mac making sure we hit all
the right tunes we had. The tag team profet started
off an hour one. Bree came in and shut it
down in hour number two with the updates and thanks
