Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio NFL Week one
almost in the books, quite the Sunday night game going on.
Welcome in Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Let's go, sticking, genius,
Let's go, baby, Let's go. What's all we waited so long?
We heard all of your predictions all off season long

(00:21):
about the easiest schedule in the NFL belongs Colts, the
worst team in the NFL, number one pick in the draft.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
How dare you come on and be all happy.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
And excited for the Is it terrible?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
It is? You do it? It just it makes me sick.
I can't do this anymore. It's just your own fault. No,
I have like some sports psychosis or sports nervous I
can't do it anymore. You know, remember we were discussing
like who's the worst team, the Golds or Carry or
the Saints. You were Colts. It was all long. It

(01:01):
was the Dolphins, it was the Dobins. You know. It's
like it's like being the ugly kid in summer camp.
None of the girls want to kiss.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Well, can I find tune that for you? What it's
like being the ugly kid at summer camp? Then strutting
around like you're the hot one all summer long, and
letting never wonder how great you are when you're really not.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Ou oouch, were the worst team in the end off.
I can't go through it another year. I can't. I
can't do another year of this. I think it.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Was twenty seventeen the Colts won their opener. There's no
twenty seventeen. It was long.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
They're all eleven and one in their openers in the
last twelve and Daniel Jones third something.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
I'm sorry that hasn't That hasn't happened.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
In like a century. We you know what so funny
is they didn't have to punt once, but they did
line up two punt and we ran into the kicker
and they got it first out, and then of course
they went down. The score it was. It was just
such a the box. And right before the game, of course,
I asked you for the link so I can watch
the game streaming side. It sent me some bogus link.

(02:09):
I was Sean, got me right. I would thanks for
getting me right. I was ready. I'd like to help
with it. I want to. I'll pay whatever I have
to watch to pay for the Dolphins because I want
to go. I want to be in on this magical day,
on this magical year that's going to be. And I
don't want to miss one game of this magical year.

(02:32):
One quarter into this magical year, this season was already
over two already through an interception, he fumbled, he threw
another interception, and Tyreek Hill was already throwing a tantrum
on the sideline. And we weren't out of the first
quarter yet. We're not We weren't even out of the
first quarter yet. For correct I I waited. You know what, guy,

(02:53):
last year was you could throw that out. It's been
like what two years? Two three years? Do you know
what got way now? And who are we gonna get with?
If we were owing seventeen, who are we gonna get arch?
Arch could barely beat like pigs knuckles State for grind
out loud.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I mean you can go deeper. I mean, you guys
have won one playoff game since Dan Marino retired.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I'm gonna fill in. I'm gonna ask the boss to
let me fill in for for Klay, Travis and Buck.
And I'm gonna do politics at least I know that,
But I don't know that I always to know that
fifty of the people will love me, right I get
I'll just talk politics, and I'll just say something like,
let's talk border crisis. Give me a call, Republicans, Democrats

(03:39):
and can give me a call. What's up with Rfk's
and Junior's voice? Give me a call. You know, just
stuff like that. You don't have to and you know what,
you can just lie when you do politics. You know
you don't have to. Pretty much did to us all
summer long. Oh I hate you, I can't. I want to.
I want a new team. I gotta have a new team.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I need a new team.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I thinking I may I may become like a Raider fan.
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
I want to know, baby, I want to know all
I had to have. I had Patriot propaganda cram down
my freaking throat all off season, and we went in
there and we punched him in the freaking face. I
got a Patriot fan.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
There's too much football anyway, you know. I want to
be that guy watching No. I want to be that
guy that goes to a party and he goes, oh,
so do you like sports? I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm
a Packer fan. I love Brett Farv what he retired?
When did that happen? I wasn't want to be like, yeah,

(04:39):
I like, I don't even have a clue. I'm a
big Packer fan. I love Brett Farr what he retired?
You know, I want to be that guy that just
doesn't know anything. What does a game on tonight? Is
it every Sunday? They play at night? I didn't know that.
I'm a big and I'm a big football fan. I
just I just can't do it anymore.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
I was really proud to see that did not start
piling on as soon as you sent the tweet off
for the show. I'm glad that everyone. I'm glad that
everyone was nice and kinding.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
We got a million tweets already before the show started.
What are you talking about? When I tweeted in the
first quarter of the season was over, I got a
million tweets. It was it was over the day in
the one and I waited so long for I can't
what am I gonna do during football season? What am
I gonna do during the during Sundays? Now?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Do you know that if they play well next week,
you'll be right back on the bab again?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
No?

Speaker 1 (05:36):
No, no, no, there's no there's no.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Turning, there's no we have the worst coach, We've got
the worst quarterback, We've got the worst team chemistry. I've
been telling you this all long, have I not? I mean,
Mike Goodness, we made the other quarterback who got cut
by one team look like a Hall of Famer. Do
you understand that we couldn't even stop Daniel Jones. Couldn't

(05:58):
stop Daniel Jones.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Well, to your credit, at the end of last year,
you and I did have a little back and forth
where I didn't think Daniel Jones was capable of being
a starting NFL quarterback and you did. I mean, you're
right on that.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
All a favor one starter. He's all, what are you
talking about? He's all the positives for you, Bro, I
got You're back. I don't how dare you even throw
that in my face? I don't want to be right now. Well,
that don't make me right now. It's it's it's it's
it was so bad. It was thirty to nothing at
one point. Do you understand the game was over? There

(06:33):
was There was never any part of in my head
that I say, Okay, here we go, We're gonna come
back now, because to and through two interceptions and he
fumbled the ball once. I mean, Mike, he's got to
go the chemistry tutor. He's he's got to go.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
To sounds like he threw too many interceptions.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
What you did there? By the way, welcome back to
Patrick Swigart.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You I only brought we have a new producer because
I got rid of the old producer. That's right, that
said the losers off the show. I brought Iowa Sam
back because I do Marry off the show.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Well, I mean io was Sam is back just because
he had to come in and work from Mary who's
under the weather. But oh, I already I tried to
paint Iowa Sam as an Iowa State fan earlier. So
I'm off to a roar and start today.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Arnie, I've been here for like a decade, and you
thought I was Iowa State cyclone Sam. Dude, I'm so
sorry cyclone Sam over here. I don't think so. Yeah,
that would sound cool seeing red. I was seeing red
and while the Red were winning over the yellow.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
By the way, the sager, maybe we should kick Arnie
off the show because our teams are both one and
oh and these team kind of sucks, right, I mean,
we got safety. He doesn't want any losers on this show.
I mean why not?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
Actually, do you know that the Kansas City Chiefs start
the season oh to one and the other three teams
in the division all won their opener?

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Oh, get in last place, get out of here.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
That actually has not happened since they realigned the division
over twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
God wait, wait, wait, wait wait?

Speaker 2 (08:02):
What did what has not happened since twenty years ago?

Speaker 3 (08:05):
That the Chiefs their opener and the other three all win?

Speaker 1 (08:08):
They're open?

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Everybody in the Dolphins division lost, everybody's all and one.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I mean there's still seven sixteen.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
No, we are the worst team in the NFL and
there's not even some like great quarterback that everybody's salivating
for going.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Oh, you're saying because Saints. Saints were at least close.
So that's why the Dolphins are the worst. Saints not good,
you know, I know that.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
But did you see the Dolphins today that they were
losing to the genuinely bad culture horrible? I mean horrible
for crying out loud.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
First four drives, two touchdowns, two field goals, kept going.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
Know how the Dolphins are favored next week? I bet
I would bet ten billion dollars.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
Patriots were actually favored today for the first time and
who knows how long.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Yeah, well not next week. That's who the Dolphins play.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
I get your tickets now.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
I can't do it anymore. I gotta be a who's
your team? To say of the Chargers, Well, that's who
he works with.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
I mean, he does the stats, he does all the
key work in the booth for them.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
Whenever there's only well there's only one Charger fan, the
one that they keep showing on TV.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
So actually, if there's a serious point to be made tonight,
go ahead. In the last five years, it has been
noticeable how many more Charger fans they I never expected this.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
How about that Dolphin fan base? Crow, And you think
the Dolphin fans are the worst?

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Seriously, they're the They're the absolute worst fan base in
the history of fans.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
I mean, there's some living proof right here.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I mean, who's living proof there?

Speaker 1 (09:45):
No wonder? Gee, I wonder someone who spends all season
got that joke on the show? Yeah, I know right,
people that live this every day got that joke on
the show.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I told you that the chemistry tutors gotta go. I said,
this guy gots the oh, he looks like a deer
in the headlights. I thought he was subcrist when I
first saw him, I go, who's that guy? Is he
somebody's uncle or cousin? That just gets the he's a
little off and they just keep him on the sideline
or something, and nobody does them to show away.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Arnie, did you feel before the season started today? As
I have heard from others that as long as two
is healthy, they're fine because he's had so many good
games when he's healthy.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
Do you have that on tape? There? The saga?

Speaker 3 (10:27):
No, I'm saying I have heard that a lot heading
into this season.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Who would say that? Who the hell would say that? You?
Did you watch him today? Did you see? Did you
happen to see what happened to them today? It's the worst, man,
I can't believe this. I'd rather have JaMarcus Russell give
me anybody, give me Zach Wilson put yours into the
base in there, give me anybody, just.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
And he This wasn't the only deathly performance. I mean
the Browns tried literally everybody in a rushing play and
against the Bengals, who couldn't stop a Flea last year,
they still lose.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
We have to trade for Shador Sanders right now, we
got to get a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
This is why there's this part of me that really
wishes that you were a general manager, just to see
the ridiculous moves that would be made.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Let's just SAYIL and Matt Millan became a you know,
media guys GM.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I wouldn't I wouldn't have given to all that to
turn the ball over? Is that his last name turned
the ball over? I wouldn't give I wouldn't give him
the money. So I would have been right from day one?
Would I not take guy?

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Do you sat here again for two years talking about
when he's healthy and that's my quarterback?

Speaker 2 (11:41):
Pray that they took Joe Burrow instead? Did not?

Speaker 1 (11:43):
I don't remember that. I don't remember. Yeah, not at all.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
No, none of you remember.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Again, none of us remember because it didn't happen.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Oh gosh, remember anything?

Speaker 1 (11:54):
Well, I can't.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Fortunately remember.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
You're the one that I don't think cremembers all these
takes you had this offseason. Listen, there's other things I.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Want to do politics. From now on, you and I
are going to talk talk about give us a call.
We're talking border crisis right now.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Actually, there were two gems from ESPN research tonight after
that cult's victory that it hadn't happened since nineteen seventy seven,
that an NFL team was able to literally score on
every possession.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
In irregular thought by possession, the Colts said. The Colt
seven possessions ended field goal touchdown, touchdown, field goal, field
goal touchdown.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Because the Dolphins ran into the kicker and they got
a free first out.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
That's right, And then the defense has to go back
on the field and again fails to record a single
stop the entire day. That's pretty tough to do.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Against the Colts, too, whose offense is barely have by Yeah,
in football team.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
It made me think that Anthony Richardson would have moved
the ball today.

Speaker 2 (12:58):
Oh he might as well just ask for all out
of there now we will never play again.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
He could go play for the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
How about that. There you go, I'll take him.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Let's do it. Let's go give me forty to twenty five.
By the way, in Sunday Night Football, the Ravens are
leading the Bills. Bills driving, but they kind of been
their own worst enemy. Four p fifty three to go.
Dereck Henry is having a historic night for an opener.
Lamar Jackson has been Lamar Jackson in Baltimore could put
up forty against Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
What could they put up against Miami eighty?

Speaker 3 (13:28):
We're all thinking.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Dude, it's pretty. It's pretty.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
I can't believe we're so bad, is what I do.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
You remember when Belichick Patriots were blowing everybody out, and
that that one game against Jeff Fisher when the Titans
were horrendous, and that could have been like an eighty
to nothing type of game if they really wanted to
beat the foot on their gas.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Crush Denver one year, like sixty five nothing or fifty
to nothing or something.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
He scored like seventy. That was like what two years ago?

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Yeah, a couple of years ago. Those days are over.
We're not talking football on this show anymore. After this segment.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yes, after the football Football Show.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
There's just football show without football. We talked there's too
much football anyway.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Well, actually we gotta start talking football because we've been
talking dolphinshins.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Oh god, I have my Arizona Wildcats.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
The show is over. Good at least I got that.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
Going for me. If I didn't have that, I'd be
crying myself to sleep.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
I mean, you went over Portland State, by the.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Way, Weber State, and Fefita looks like he should be playing.
He should be the quarterback for the Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Right is there was there weather delay and that is
that why it was so late? I'm starting.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yeah, well, weather delay Denver today, halftime, weather delay Philly
on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
We're gonna kick the crap out of everybody we play
this year.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
To Jacksonville had weather delay, right, jackson Jacksonville over an
hour today?

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah, yeah, so mother Nature playing fits with everybody. And
then Arnie's dolphins got destroyed today.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
That should ut you're in a good new mood just
because you're thinking one and your teeth's not that good.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I need to get these losers off the show, Scott.
I don't know who's up, and I need to get
these loose. I mean, with the Dolphins losing today, we
can't do a show with losers, right, Steve.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
Right, team has I have one losing team and all
of a sudden one yet tonight's game not over yet.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
By the way, Buffalo has just scored fourth down pass
desperation to the end zone, it winds up in key
on Coleman's hands.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Do you go for two here now? Or do you wait?

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Why not go for two all the time? You've missed
a couple already? It's why this is it?

Speaker 5 (15:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (15:42):
I mean, for crying out loud, you're gonna hit the
extra point here and be down eight. You've already gone
for two twice and missed two. And as we mentioned
on the prior show, that Pittsburgh win, they won by
two at the Jets because the Jets went for two
twice and missed twice.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Don't get that. So it's forty to two extra point
is good? What is it under four minutes to go?

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Steve?

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Was a three fifty two? Okay? They just flash it
away any I mean they got to get a stop here,
which is something they haven't been able to do all night.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
And remember the new rules, you would have to declare
an onside kick because you wouldn't have what's now the
common kickoff formation. This happened when we were on during
the Super Bowl show. Remember that Chiefs were getting blown
out and it wasn't the fourth quarter yet, so even
then you couldn't try an extra point. I mean an
onside kick, and so now they change that rule in

(16:31):
the offseason. Any of the quarters, as long as you
declare you can go for an onside kick.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Boba Ken Coleman having himself a game, if you're curious,
at least according to the stat cast here, I'm looking
at the Bills do have all three timeouts left. But
Derrick Henry tonight sixteen carries one hundred and seventy seven yards.
He's got two scores. As a team, the Ravens have
averaged nine point three yards per carry. Lamar Jackson five

(16:58):
for fifty seven.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
That was the cherry on top of the South. Because
I'm playing against him in fantasy football and just grusting me.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Oh, who's that Derrick Henry?

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (17:07):
Man, they put up the graphic. There's only one other
guy who's had, believe it or not, seven career games
at this age of at least one hundred and fifty
yards rushing. It's it's Walter Payton.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Unreal, all right, So the final four minutes, I should say,
three minutes and change three fifty exactly to go in
the game, Baltimore will have the football.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
They're up eight.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
We'll see if they can milk down the clock and
pick up a big week one win next and we're
going through all the games? Or what do you want
to talk border crisis when we come back.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
No, we can do taxes. Should there be a flat tax?
Give us a call, Republicans and Democrats, give us a call.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Arnie stapping out of the football game. But well that's it.
It's Arnie playing on Fox Sports Radio.

Listen to the Fifth Hour with Ben Maller on the
iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
You're not gonna believe what happened. You're just not gonna
believe what happened. Since we went to commercial break, Derrick Henry,
who has been flawless all night long, fumbled buffalo recovered
Josh Allen with an absolute dime gets him to the
one yard line. It was Dalton Kincaid on the past.
The Ravens are excuse me, the Bill score on third

(18:54):
down and then they missed a two point conversion.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Bad play, call them the two point conversion.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I thought the money back was wide open.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I know, I thought he was too, but there was
a guy right there?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Oh was there? Okay? Uh, So it's forty to thirty eight.
The Ravens have the football, maybe a chance. Maybe it's
because again there's one fifty one to go. The Bills
have what night. Actually we're a little bit beyond one
fifty one now, right, and they're showing all the stupid

(19:24):
highlights of all the miss two point conversion plays, one
to go second down and nine Bills have two of
the So thyough, I mean, listen, they got to stop
the Ravens. First of all, it was a big time
play to force the fumble, and Lamar Jackson has been
pretty unstoppable too here this evening. But this has got
to be pretty shocking seeing that this was a pretty

(19:45):
one sided game through a majority up. Now Jay Flowers
goes down at the line of scrimmage, so it's going
to be third down and ten with one thirty nine
left to go. Gotta be smart here, Do you risk
throwing the football if you're the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
I think you should. You probably should because there's still
so much time with that the one time out really
isn't going to no you know, do a whole heck
of a lot. Plus they only need a field goal.
I mean, heck, you get in the other team's forty
five yard lad, did I say this to you? Before
you get to the other die forty five? You're pretty
much a field goal range with any kicker out there, don't.

Speaker 1 (20:21):
I don't know that most kickers are good from sixty two,
but I think if you can maybe get to the forty,
you're starting to feel a little bit better. I mean,
Daniel Carlson today was short from fifty eight, so you know,
and I mean, let's let's face it, tonight, one of
the kickers done so far this evening prater for Buffalo
is two for two. His long as forty three here

(20:43):
this evening. The longest field goal attempted tonight is fifty
two and that was by Tyler Loop had been really good.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
But hey, keep in mind he missed an extra point.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
He missed an extra point. How about the.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Game go ahead? Oh yeah, I know three off the
top of my head that were missed, right extra points?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Well, I know there was in this game. That's been key.
The Ravens are going to try to throw the football
and they're gonna come up short. They're gonna come up short.
It's gonna be fourth down and Buffalo. I don't I
don't see the Ravens going for this year. Buffalo is
gonna get the football back without any timeouts left down
by two, plenty of time though, and plenty of time

(21:21):
left on the clock.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Oh what a choke this would be by the Ravens
if they let this one slip right through their figures.
They were up forty twenty five. What was the win
percentage at that point for the Ravens, like ninety nine
point nine win percentage is so sad? I know you
hate that. You just for it.

Speaker 1 (21:36):
Just for you. I'll go ahead and look at it.
Right now. I bet it was like ninety five the game. Well,
I don't know if it's that much. It's a two
score game on the road. Let's see it. What forty
twenty five when it was forty to twenty five, looks
like it was about ninety one percent.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Yeah, geez, we'll get as there you go.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
So fourth and two the Baltimore thirty nine yard line,
they are gonna put in a way, they still have
a seventy percent win percentage, but at one point it
was ninety nine point one in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
Oh, get out of here.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
And they still have a seventy six percent chance to
win it if you want to get nerded out on
the win percentage. All right, So here we go, a
potential big moment to put an exclamation point on the
first full Sunday of NFL action. The Bills looks like
they're spotting it right on their twenty yard line. We'll
wait and see what they determine. The distance could be

(22:27):
here for Matt Prater field goal. Like we said, it's
long in the day as forty four. But how about
that stat twenty one game winning drives for Josh Allen
in the fourth quarter or overtime. This would be one
heck of a statement from the team. Well, two teams
that are perceived to be among the AFC favorites.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Right right right, And if the Bills, well, it could
decide home field advantage at the end for the playoffs
or something.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Well, I mean you are talking every game matter is
in this instance? Oh what of the Bills doing thrown
in the middle of the field. But again, we'll keep
an eye in keep tabs on this. In fact, why
don't we just watch along while Steve the Seger comes
rolling into the Fox Sports radio studios with an update
on everything, including Steve.

Speaker 3 (23:07):
This thing's become an absolute thriller. Yeah it should not be.
But is two point Ravens lead with a minute to go?
And wasn't the playoff game this close last year between
these two Baltimore's tight end dropped one at the end
and it was a two point loss. But we got
a short completion to Keon Coleman just now and a
short completion before that to Khalil Shakur. So it's only

(23:29):
on about the Buffalo thirty five. They're not even close
to field goal range and that are on and we
have one minute to go. In this game, Ravens forty
to thirty eight. Dereck Henry was having a monster night.
Eighteen carries one hundred and sixty seven yards rushing. He
has two touchdowns, but a late fumble as Ed Oliver
got there Forston. He is having a great night. He

(23:49):
has a sack as well. Josh Allen just now has
scrambled up to about the forty earlier. Green Bay beat
Detroit twenty seven to thirteen. That was a seventeen to
three lead at the half. Jordan Loved two touchdown passes.
San Francisco a winner at Seattle seventeen thirteen on a
touchdown pass with under two minutes left. Brock perty with
two tds two interceptions in the victory. The Rams beat

(24:11):
Houston fourteen to nine. Puka Nakua ten catches one hundred
and thirty yards. Denver was trailing Tennessee twelve ten in
the third quarter, but the Broncos win at twenty to twelve.
Victories for Jacksonville and Washington. Wins on the road for
Las Vegas and Arizona. Pittsburgh won at the Jets thirty
four to thirty two. Four touchdown passes for Aaron Rodgers
against the Jets, Chris Boswell a sixty yard field goal

(24:34):
with about a minute to go. Indianapolis risked ripped the
Dolphins thirty three to eight. Daniel Jones with all three tds.
Cincinnati won at Cleveland seventeen sixteen, and Tampa Bay won
twenty three to twenty at Atlanta as the Falcons missed
a forty four yard field goal attempt in the final seconds.
The Monday night matchup is Minnesota at Chicago in Major

(24:54):
League Baseball. Seattle's Col Rally hit his fifty third homer
of fifth season one eighteen to two at Atlanta. The
Ms won Saturday and Sunday after losing six of seven.
Miami beat the Phillies five to four. Marlins had lost
five straight. It was Milwaukee winning and the Cubs losing.
Cincinnati beat the Mets three to two. The Dodgers got

(25:16):
two home runs from Shoeotani. He has forty eight. Dodgers
won five to two at Baltimore. San Diego an eight
one winner at Colorado, and the Yankees beat Toronto four
to three.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
US Open.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Champion as Carlos Alcarez Denny Hamlin took the NASCAR race
and in the last play at Buffalo. Another receiver gets involved,
Joshua Palmer a thirty two yard reception from josh Allen
were under a minute to go, Ravens forty Bill's thirty
eight field goal range. Now for this month's kicker, he

(25:48):
subbing for the injured Tyler Bass. We'll see Matt Prater
perhaps shortly.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
It's not automatic with this guy.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Though, Nope.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
And although yeah, he's not kicking in Denver either. It's
about forty five seconds left in this game. Guys, Oh
my goodness, wide open across the middle. It's oh nearly
not gonna matter. Keyon Coleman gets it down to the
nine yard line. It looked like he might break free.
They came with it.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
I don't I don't know if it was a zero blitz,
but it was definitely an all out blitz.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
There was one blitz by Buffalo earlier where the safety
was thirteen yards back and then blitzed and Flowers went
past him for a long gain. A timeout by the
defense of Baltimore. Just now Baltimore leading by two and
calling timeout again.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
There'll be a lot of let's wait till this is over.
Like you mentioned, Matt Prater, haven't seen him kick in
a pressure situation? What do you call him the kicker
of the week, the sagas of the month, Yes, month,
I'm sorry, well it's ir week of the month.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
So back to back completions of thirty two and twenty
five yards for the Bills, now including that one to
Coleman that you mentioned.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
So it's first and goal at the nine, and you
might say, why would the Ravens juice a time out? Hypothetically,
when you're inside the ten, most NFL kickers should be
able to make this with their opposite foot or blindfolded.

Speaker 3 (27:03):
So but although there was the missed extra point you
referenced blim earlier tonight.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
That is true in fact on their last touchdown, right,
So maybe Baltimore just thinking, all right, any time we
could potentially save here, let's see what we can do.
They have now two of their three timeouts left. And
look at this note, Arnie, on this drive, Josh Allen
four for four for seventy one yard, by the way,
eaten in the most.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
You got to be careful if you're going to spike
the ball, obviously like a second left, make sure you're
not moving because if you get called for a penalty,
they have to have the ten second runoff of you right.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
And also by tripping up keyon Coleman there, they didn't
let him score and then have to use the timeouts
and still may never get the ball for it with
much here and we got time.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
We got time here, so we're in no rush at
all as far as the constraints to the broadcast.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
Time out number two for the defense of Baltimore. Thirty
five seconds left Ravens leading by two, but the field
goal kicker for the Bills is warming up on the sidelines.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Ready to go. After this game looked to be over.
What's your favorite little stat? Win percentage? Buffalo at one
point was facing a ninety nine percent chance that they're
gonna lose on their home field to the Baltimore Ravens,
who were up not just two scores, but what was
it fifteen? So you needed to get a two point
conversion to tie the game. Buffalo scores twice, misses the

(28:28):
two point conversion, Derrick Henry fumbles recovered by the Bills.
They needed what four plays to go score and then
miss the two point conversion, and now they get the
football back after forcing it three and out, and they're
just gonna kneel it here. If I'm the Ravens, I
don't take a time out. I don't take it time.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
They did just burn their last year.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
They want to go ahead and have a chance to
try to get the ball back.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
This is apparently Matt Prater's eighteenth year in the NFL.
In the little he did kick for Arizona last year,
he was six for six on field goal.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
H Here's the thing, though, all right, I agree with
both of you. You want to keep as much time
on the clock as you possibly can. There's thirty two
seconds left. They're going to third and goal. I don't
I mean, I don't know. If I call the time
out there because they're downing it, then they're going to
kick down it anymore.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Though.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
I know they're going to be in a what's the
word I'm looking for, like a fire drill to try
to get the guy out there. If you don't call
a timeout or they maybe it would get to what
you said, or you would want to spike the ball.
So I mean, it's third and goal. I would go
ahead and kick here, just in case you have a bag.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
I would take care. I would kick here too, But
it doesn't look like they're taking in with that. That
is gutsy, because I'm not sure i'd want to run out.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
My we go. They're going to have a fire drill
to run out the potential game kicker.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Right.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Both teams are out of timeouts, but they got plenty
of time to jog on the field as an offense
prader is on the field. They're ticking under twenty seconds
to go the fourth and goal, and they line up
on the left hash that's where Josh Allen took a
n ee.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
They're already running like they're doing a Sunday stroll at
the park, like there's a Harvey out there already. This
is not a distance. He's gonna make this. Yeah, he's
gonna make it the rut.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Yeah, underfa, I can get this snap here at two seconds.
The kick is good. The Bills are gonna win. All
the Ravens are so close to blocking they almost blocked it.
They almost I didn't see who got through, but one
of the Ravens players went right over the guard and
almost blocked it. And an improbable start to Sunday Night

(30:28):
football in twenty twenty five, the Bills come back from
the dead Undertaker style. Many just leave up in the coffin,
absolutely robbery.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
They were down fifteen with four minutes left. If you're
if you're a Ravens fan, you feel dirty right now.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
You feel dirty and you want to just go crumple
up into a fetal position of rock back and forth.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
This changes the entire narrative for the Ravens month of September,
because if they win and score forty at Buffalo and
win by double digits, which they were up, everybody saying, wow,
we saw the city's first game. But look at the
Ravens first game. This is the team to beat in
the and and they didn't even make it to the finish.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
And now that Bills, Now that Bill's clinch the AFC
East with that one. I'm pretty sure. I'm serious. They do. Man,
there's no now to the Buffalo offense.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
They wind up with almost five hundred yards again the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Seger watched the replane. How close he comes to blocking it,
Oh my goodness, inches around the age. I still don't
know how he didn't miss it. Oh my god, how
he didn't block forty?

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Buffalo?

Speaker 2 (31:34):
What a game? What a choke by the Ravens. Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
But is this the game of the day, or is
the Steelers Jets the game of the day?

Speaker 2 (31:43):
This the Dophense Colts was the game. I hate you.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I still feel like Steelers Jets is the game of
the day.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
But this was a heck of a game.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
It's had higher stakes and a more unlikely finish.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
The highest probability that if you want to get into this,
the highest probability was with four forty eight to go
in the fourth quarter. It was forty to twenty five
Baltimore and the Ravens were facing a third and ten
on the Baltimore eighteen yard line. At that point, the

(32:14):
Ravens had a ninety nine point one percent chance.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
That's again, I can go nine point one.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
I can go one further on that. Jason lockinfora who
joins us every week on the weeknight show of Courses
in Baltimore, he passed along the stead He found that
the Ravens, now just since the twenty twenty one season,
have lost eight times when they had a win probability
of at least ninety percent at one time. That's three
more than the next closest team on the list. Eight

(32:41):
times they have lost a game in recent years with
a win probability of at least ninety percent.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
I got a root for people to suffer with their teams,
like I'm got everybody lose.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
By the way, it was Kyle Hamilton who nearly got
that field goal, I mean missed it by an inch.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
People have talked about, in fact, we got talked about
today the amount of times that Kyle Shanahan with the
forty nine ers has blown fourth quarter leads. And here
they actually won it at the end in the last
two minutes today. He's six times blown a double digit
lead in the fourth quarter in the past decade, including playoffs.
John Harbaugh now eight times has blown a double digit

(33:20):
lead in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Three number one picks for Trey Lands? Please please? Could
I do that here? What not? Two? Tak three?

Speaker 1 (33:28):
By the way, we got a lot of good tweets
rolling in and I want to hit him when we
come back. But Paul, who has been going through it
as a Bills fan, his first tweet after the Bills
pick up this win, the Bills should still fire Sean McDermott, Well.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
I mean they only almost lost the game where they
scored what thirty eight points at the time, So in fact,
in Buffalo history. According to AP, they've still never lost
a home game when they score thirty eight or more.
They just needed that last what fifteenth We're down fifteen
with four minutes to go. They needed that last Praterer
field goal, final play thirty two yards out to win.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Todd Furman is coming up in less than an hour
from now. We got your tweets coming up next as
we react to Week one and an incredible finish the
Bills get it done.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Uh what, Oh, Mike, did you see the I'm sorry?
Did you see the video of someone sent us on
Twitter on mar Jagons. Oh yeah, Lamar Jackson physically getting
his hands on a fan.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
And just he got was she shoved in the helmet
when he was the fans in the corner tonight and
he two hands shoved the fan back.

Speaker 2 (34:38):
Wow, he can't do that though. You can't put your
hands on Lamar Jackson. But wow, he gave a pretty
good shove to that kid. Hey, he's lucky that the
Bills fans like didn't jump over. That could have been
kidding the rod. It was a pretty hard shove.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
Well, it's div into that next with Already and Plank
right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (34:58):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live. They are who we thought they were, and
we got about the hook.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Here's the snap. Hold is down, kick on the.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Way, and it is good and Matt Crater, in his
first game as a Buffalo Bill has won the ballgame.
Here in week one, they come all the way back
to win the game at the gun with a thirty
two yard field goal for.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
A forty one to forty victory courtesy of ninety eight
Rock the raven Our Party. That's WGR five to fifty
the Bills. Wow Radio Network first week with the team.
What a way, what a finish? Forty one forty The
Bills come from out of nowhere.

Speaker 8 (35:55):
Here.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
We're taking to the high school, they said on the broadcast,
practicing in a high school, just to keep in shape.
Just last weekend or something, Tonight's numbers that will jaw
drop you. Josh Allen thirty three of forty six for
three hundred and ninety four yards. Wow.

Speaker 1 (36:16):
He averaged eight point six yards per TIMPs through two touchdowns.
And oh, by the way, his QB rating was actually
lower than Lamar Jackson, who threw for two to h nine,
had two touchdowns, ran for seventy yards averaged eleven point
seven yards per Carrie. The Ravens as a team two
hundred and thirty eight yards in the ground, one hundred

(36:36):
and sixty nine of those from Derrick Henry and Derrick
Henry's fumble helped open the door to this comeback.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Unreal's a lot. That's a lot of yards on the
ground and still lose. That's incredible.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
Yeah, exactly seven catches for one hundred and forty three
yards tonight from Zay Flowers. He scores once. Keon Coleman
maybe kind of looking like that dude for the Buffalo
Bills eight catches, one hundred and two twelve yards and
a score. He was my favorite receiver coming out of
the draft last year. A little dinged up, but wow,
you want to go through some of these tweets real quick.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah, we have a whole bunch. There's tons out there.

Speaker 1 (37:11):
James Wright. Two season openers in a row for the Ravens.
What's worse the Derek Henry fumble or the foot on
the line against the Chiefs last year. I'll remember that
when they thought they had won the game in his
foot right, if only he would have had white cleats on,
that would have been impossible to try to figure out.

(37:32):
Here's a good question from HP. Why do some teams
go for two and it's unnecessary when one point is sufficient?
They think they're smarter than the game. Wait until you
need two points. The Bills lost two points going for
two twice and got bailed out by Josh Allen ser rogues.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Again, somebody needs to rewrite that book because that book
doesn't give you the right percentage on one to go
for two and one not to go for two.

Speaker 1 (37:56):
Because there is this it's I don't know if the
term would be kind of like an analytic mind frame,
but the idea is, when you're down fourteen, you go
for two when you score. And some teams have decided
that what was it a personal foul in the Bills
game that got them a little closer after a made
extra point and decided, hey, we'll go for two now,
and there by by the Bills. I don't know who

(38:18):
needs to have this conversation with Joe Brady. Take your
version of the tush push out of your playbook. It
just doesn't work. It costs you the AFC Championship game
last year when you kept running it and it kept
not working, and a damn there cost it a game
tonight because they tried to run it near the coal
line and they didn't get anything. So who's ever in

(38:39):
charge of that? Take it out of your playbook? Not good, No, no,
Rudy writes, the Miami Dolphins made Danny dimes look like
fifty cent today. Carson beck on deck would be my
new slogan. I like that Carson beck on deck in Miami, aren't.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
You noways don't say that. I know he's no stuff.
I'm not going there. I remember it was. Someone wrote
it was tank for Tua. Now it's tanking because of Tua.
So oh yeah, that was good to that one. Next
you hit it, miss your nobody.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Sean McDermot can be criticized for the two point conversion obsession,
but he didn't dial up the defense where Flowers was
so wide open, he could have ordered a pizza. As
someone who resumed following the Bills, I was a fan
in college. I can't bash the coach for this. You
know they had some defensive issues on that game, and
he said, I don't condone the fan who shoved Lamar,

(39:33):
but I also know Lamar has to be the bigger guy,
since he's the athlete that secure to deal with it.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
But the kid, it looks like he put his hands
on Lamar first. It looks that way. I haven't seen
the full video, but it looks that way too. From one.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Will we be outraged by this tomorrow? I mean, it's
ever going to lose their mind about it? Or do
you think it's going to be a kind of lost
because of the way the game wins.

Speaker 9 (39:53):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (39:53):
No, they'll be outrage tomorrow, I promise you.

Speaker 1 (39:56):
At James the Ravens Pool Day reverse Orioles, gosh, yes,
they were in complete control and blew it like I
just like a simple tweet like this one hell of
a game. Yep uh, Brendan right, I'm a Raiders fan somewhere.
I should not get my hopes up yet. If we
beat the Chargers next week, then we can start the

(40:18):
hype train for the Raid.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
I'll be sick to my stomach if you beat the Chargers,
but that's that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (40:23):
And don't swing all the way into politics, rights Dan
but good job. Now, start taking some calls. Bin's callers
will be ready and waiting on hold. Mike the Leprechaun's
opinion on the border, Now that would be my kind
of radio. Oh yeah, holler, and James, you're on the air.
What do you make of the next Republican ticket?

Speaker 2 (40:41):
All right?

Speaker 1 (40:42):
When we come back, Todd Furman joins us. Next hour
and post game reaction from this incredible finish in Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
There we go, There we go, hour two.

Speaker 1 (40:50):
Are you feeling any better now after watching what Ravens
fans just went through?

Speaker 2 (40:55):
No, I wanted the Bills to lose so every team
could be own one.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
Welly, so you get your hopes up again or something.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Well, if all the teams were ow and one, then
we start fresh.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Would you really believe that after what you saw today?

Speaker 2 (41:12):
No, we're the worst team in the NFL. We're the worst.
By the way, do you gave me no credit? I
said to you last week watch I'm going to prove
to you I could hit a fifteen team money line paraway,
and I did. I gave a fifty atologized.

Speaker 1 (41:27):
I said, where's your betting slip?

Speaker 2 (41:29):
What diff does it make if I betted or I
didn't bet it. I said, let me get those listeners. Rich.
Here's a fifteen team money line paraway, which I think we.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Told you we don't doubt it. We just don't believe
that you'll bet at number one and number two. It
was a nineteen team parlay. Seven. We kept saying, no, dude,
hit a nineteen team.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
Yeah, but I mine was at you seventeen right, and we.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Kept telling you, okay, we'll put two more teams on
it because you kept saying anyone can hit a nineteen
team parlay. And I'm like, listen, I don't doubt it.
If you just want to take all the money line things,
it's probably not as hard as you make it out,
but still give some credit do it. And you never
picked nineteen Yeah, I had, because.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
I don't know what I think you would get, like
ten or twenty to one odds or something like that.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
I mean, when the dude, when we sat here the
whole time, it said he hit a nineteen team parlay
and you're like, well, I'll hit a fifteen one. It's like, okay, great, maybe,
but it's not nineteen. It's like you're not following through
the assignment. It was trying to make your point. You're
coming up short.

Speaker 2 (42:21):
Oh I had seventeen there, but I missed out on
two teams because I I you know what, I could
have easily put two more teams in there. Wouldn't have
made a difference. I could have given you twenty.

Speaker 1 (42:31):
I don't think you could on a Saturday. I think
you would have blown it. I think you would have
gone with like Arizona State or somebody.

Speaker 2 (42:36):
No, No, I would not have done that. No, forget
about that.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
You would have gone with Kansas City.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
It just goes to show. I mean, first of all,
I'm fifteen teen parlay. It's still damn pretty good there.
I mean, or seventeen team. You gotta give me credit
for that, don't you?

Speaker 1 (42:49):
No, because you didn't want to give anyone credit for
one in nineteen. It's easy. You should do it every
single week. It's a way to win easy money.

Speaker 2 (42:54):
You don't do it, isy I first all, I can't
weave that one purchase today. Way to go seventeen team
money line parlay. You you made this a little bit
of dope. But if if we paid off more, I'll
find that from Todd.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
I don't think a single team you picked was even
like a nine point favorite. I don't thin they were
all one of like thirty five to forty point favit.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
Yeah, every single one of them. That's why they were
probably like ten to one.

Speaker 8 (43:19):
All.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
That's why that's there, you go. I mean, hey, thanks
for going out on a limb and taking Ohio State
over Grambling on the money line, Arnie, I think you
made a penny if you bet a dollar.

Speaker 2 (43:29):
There was only one game that had a was in
danger of the upset, and that was Troy over Clemson.
Clemson trailed sixteen to three at half time.

Speaker 1 (43:41):
But good teams do. Man, they bounce back. I'm sure
they weren't a funk after that first half. I'm sure
that they were. I guess that first.

Speaker 2 (43:49):
I just want to say this because obviously, by the way,
here's a stat. Where's the saga? Because he he doesn't
give out Oh he gives out all these stupid stats,
all these stupid stats.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Yeah, he gives it, but he doesn't you know when
when the real.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Some good ones about the Dolphins today?

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Do you see that since nineteen seventy seven, no team
has ever given up a score on every possession and
that happened today I give him seventy possessions field goal, touchdown, touchdown,
field goal, field goal, touchdown. Hagel hasn't happened since nineteen
seventy seven? Are he?

Speaker 2 (44:21):
There's only two teams in college football that have not
given up a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
You want to guess who what of them are?

Speaker 3 (44:28):
If only they could play Weaver State every weekend.

Speaker 2 (44:32):
I don't know who the other team is, but I'm
sure they suck.

Speaker 3 (44:34):
By the way, the latest stat we had in Chris
about this incredible NFL game tonight, the NFL research looked
up in NFL history, what's the record of a team
that scores forty points or more and has at least
two hundred and thirty five yards rushing in the game.
The answer is two seventy seven and oh until the

(44:55):
Baltimore Ravens tonight, because they scored forty better and they
had eight on the ground and still blew the fifteen
point lead in the last four minutes of the game.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
How I mean, just unbelievable. And the guy who had
been unstoppable, I mean, who was the hero of the
night stop Derrick Henry.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
It's a guy that fumbles the ball away and gives
him a chance.

Speaker 3 (45:19):
So kudos to ed Oliver in the game he had tonight,
forcing that fumble. He had a sack, He had a
tackle for a loss on Henry, one of the few
guys who you'll ever see throw Derrick Henry down from
his position. Eric ed Oliver had six solo tackles in
this game as well.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
Wow, eleven of the fifteen games today were one score
wins too.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
Great point from Jay Miami was I know that wasn't now?

Speaker 3 (45:43):
San Francisco had a game winning drive in the final
two minutes. The Tampa Bay did, Pittsburgh did San Francisco.
They have won four straight years in Seattle. Going back
to the last forty years, there's only one team that's
won at least four straight years in Seattle, and that's
the Raiders of the early nineteen nineties.

Speaker 2 (46:05):
Let's go on. I'll give you another one bike kill.
You'll know the answer. This one coach now was one
opening day with four different teams.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
Pete Carroll, that's right, it's good stay he Carrol also
becomes the first guy to ever be like one hundred
years old and win a game.

Speaker 2 (46:26):
You know. The fourteen is what the the Jets.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
The Patriots Raiders and Seahawks. Forget about the time whenever
he was the Patriots. Man, that was a whole new
that's a whole different world.

Speaker 2 (46:37):
Man.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
Go USC.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Yes's pre USC I remember. I mean again, y'all are
younger than me for the most I definitely know I
was Sam and Patrick's younger than me. But I'll tell
you what the when he was hired at USC, people
were passed the.

Speaker 3 (46:53):
Retread NFL retread going to s C and his first
year was it was the same thing all over again.
Nothing was. It wasn't until year two.

Speaker 1 (47:02):
In fairness, I'm trying to do my best to keep
everything in perspective. I know we're having fun picking on
Arnie's Dolphins today because again, Arnie, you did set yourself up.
There's some meat on the bone there. Aw, you set
yourself up for this. But since we spent a majority
of the first hour hearing you cry, anything else that
really caught your eye In a full recap, we had

(47:23):
the great Sunday night game, but I mean Atlanta has
an opportunity to force overtime and blows it. Buccaneers win
that game. That was an ugly game between Cincinnati and Cleveland.
I really don't know how to think about it, except
that the Bengals finally went an opener.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Listen, we don't have to bring up the Colts and
the Dolphins. If I was doing my power rankings, this
team would be going to the super Bowl right now.

Speaker 1 (47:48):
If you were doing your power ranking. You want to
take a guess, knowing, hold on, let me look here,
knowing how knee jerk you are?

Speaker 2 (47:54):
Weee jerk reaction Sunday night?

Speaker 1 (47:56):
But go ahead, No, No, it's knee jerk reaction every
every single not you're on the radio, not just every
Sunday night. The Colts, No, not the Colts.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Who is it? The Green Bay Packers?

Speaker 1 (48:10):
Oh yeah, they're going to be a team that people
are going to knee jerk to quite a lot, big time,
big time.

Speaker 2 (48:15):
And parsesn't just see that suck late in the game.
It was pretty much. I know that's what you're paying
two hundred million dollars for.

Speaker 3 (48:26):
I still don't know that he's one hundred percent healthy though,
no doubt. Yeah, he was limited in practice all this past.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
Week and they beat a good team too, So yeah,
there'll be a lot of knee jerk on the Green
Bay Packers. But they do look good. Right, if there's
a power rankings, they have to be number one on
them there.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
So I mean over what the Chargers did.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Oh yeah, come on man, the pack Yeah, defense and
that trade and they dominated a team that some people
thought could be a Super Bowl long shot. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
I repeat, if the Ravens had just played football the
last three minutes, the higher narrative of the league is
changed for the next twenty four hours.

Speaker 1 (49:03):
Well, I mean, you're you're pushing the Packers to the
top of the of the quote unquote non, I guess real.
The fictional Arnie Power rankings, Yes, when the defending Super
Bowl champs won even though they lost their best player
for spitting it in his.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
Power rankings are listed right next to those betting slips.

Speaker 1 (49:20):
I think, wow, wow, uhe broth win was was good.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
But in case anybody didn't know this, it's it's Donzo
for the for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaker 1 (49:32):
They're those those chief fans.

Speaker 2 (49:34):
Those Super Bowls are long and gone and forgotten. Now
there won't be anyone in the in the near future.
I didn't know Travis Kelcey was even in the game
until he hurt his own teammates so he was.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
In the game.

Speaker 3 (49:47):
They're gonna get Worthy back at some point, They're gonna
get Rashie Rice back. At some point, They're still gonna
have Kelsey. I what stunned me over the years, not
just this first game, is that a team that good
hasn't solved the tackle problem. Because why did they lose
the Super Bowls they lost is because the immense pressure

(50:08):
that Mahomes felt.

Speaker 2 (50:10):
He looked good, He looked good.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
That tackle was a problem in their first game in Brazil.
Still still an issue. I don't know if you want
to make too much speaking of your non existent power
rankings over what happened in New York. But the Steelers
did go go on the road, and this old decrepit,
poor old soul who's playing quarterback for them, did look

(50:32):
pretty spry throwing for forty.

Speaker 2 (50:35):
I gotta be honest, he did. He I was thinking
of the old time. Gee. I wish we had him
over to it. It was always back to the you know,
he he wanted to go ahead and prove that he
wanted to beat everybody involved with the New York Jets
and the Jet site. You look good too. I thought
that they were impressive. They probably should have pulled out
that game, to be honest, they it's all.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
The defense on a sixty yard field goal at the end. Yeah,
it's the Jets would have won.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
Yeah, it's it's one of those teams that you don't
want to allow yourself to get too. I guess hyped
over right, And I'm speaking of Pittsburgh here, but it's
hard not to. You know, they've got a got a
big game coming up next week. Their their schedule is tough.
But they look good today, man. And you know Ephraim
was talking about it before. You were clowning on all

(51:25):
the trades that they've made and how they just got older.
And boy Jalen Ramsey goes out there and plays.

Speaker 2 (51:31):
That was a bad pass. I knew that was gonna happen.
I'm not getting around. I knew he was gonna jar
the ball loose because he could have run for the
first game. Yeah, he could have run the ball for
the first down and started the clock. I'm like, that's
exactly what was going to happen. Happened because he didn't
see the guy closing in off and.

Speaker 3 (51:52):
The speed of wide receiver DK Metcalf. He still has it,
he still has.

Speaker 2 (51:56):
He did, but he got down the sideline there.

Speaker 8 (51:58):
Man.

Speaker 3 (51:58):
By the way, a little trivia today that Aaron Rodgers
age forty one, and we had Joe Flackoy the Browns
age forty each starting week one. The only other years
when we had two quarterbacks age forty or older starting
week one was Tom Brady. Tom Brady and Drew Brees
twenty twenty and a year before that.

Speaker 1 (52:18):
Did and Breese didn't make it. Oh yeah, Breeze didn't
make it through that season. He and then he retired afterwards.
But yeah, good, good stat man. Old people, old people unite.

Speaker 3 (52:29):
And then the kicker who wins the game tonight is
about the same age.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
God, he looked.

Speaker 1 (52:33):
I mean when they went to interview him, I'm like,
oh my gosh, some guy just stormed the field all
the way back to their kicker. Did you did you?
By the way, just it needs to be hammered home
even more. I've seen several people now jump on this note,
Benjamin solid Cat, I think to saga what we saw pff.
Couple other people had it. The Ravens lost to night Hurts,
but it's now their eighth loss since twenty twenty one,

(52:54):
in which they had at one point a win probability
of at least ninety percent, and there's three more And
that's three more losses in those type of situations than
the next closest team.

Speaker 3 (53:06):
And if you now add up all the year, and
it's a lot of years that John Harbough has been
a coach in Baltimore. But to blow a double digit
lead in the second half, go back three decades, He's
done so seventeen times, the most of any coach in
that span. To blow a double digit lead second.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Absolutely unreal. So I mean, listen, I'm not gonna sit
here and bury Barry Baltimore because of it. But I'm
gonna tip my cap to Buffalo for not tapping out that,
because there were several moments on you where they could
just flat out tap out of that.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
And guys, the interview afterwards with Josh Allen, he even
mentioned we had a few fans leave.

Speaker 2 (53:48):
Have a little faith next time. Oh I already said
on the air of that every team lost in the AFCs, right,
so every team is zero and one and we're gonna
start fresh.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
I did try to point out that the game wasn't
quite over yet, but I think you said, oh no, no, no,
it's over.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
It was over.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
We do have a comment from Lamar Jackson now on
what you brought up and shoving the fan back. Oh quote,
I let my emotions get the best of me. I'll
learn from that, and.

Speaker 2 (54:13):
You'll learn from when we take fifty thousand dollars out
of your pocket. You'll think you'll get fine for it.
Oh you can't.

Speaker 1 (54:22):
You can't.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
You can't put your hands on a fad but two hands. Yeah,
he gave him a shove. I mean, that's that's an assault.
It's one thing to put your hands on a fan,
and he.

Speaker 3 (54:32):
Like shoved him back into his seat. It was forceful.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
No, I and I know he put it. Seemed like
he put his hands on Lamar first.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
Absolutely looked like he did.

Speaker 2 (54:40):
Yes, But you still can't go ahead and push him
like that. I'm surprised.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
Well, if you're at the zoo, you can't get that
close to the animals. It's simple, Yeah, little comment. Honestly,
he's lucky.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
He's lucky even some of his own teammates didn't see it,
because they would have jumped into the stands at that point.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
Also, Garrett, well on to anybody.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Yeah, it was right there in the first row right
there in the first row.

Speaker 3 (55:01):
Scott Frost saved him that night and gave le Garrett
Blunt an NFL career. In my opinion, does anybody remember
that Chip Kelly lost with Oregon. It was first, absolutely
his first game as a coach.

Speaker 2 (55:13):
It was so bad. It was so bad.

Speaker 3 (55:16):
One of the boosters that traveled to the game wrote
them a long letter. You know, this is all that
I spent on the hotel and the tickets and everything,
and you do that your first game. Literally. Chip Kelly
wrote back and paid for the amount that was in
the letter.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
The money they went on.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
The chip Kelly was okay. He lost about as many
games at Oregon as as mahomes Is lost in the
AFC West over the years.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
The big plenty of that. Now this year, though, we'll
make up for that lost time.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
We know Todd Furman's coming up here in moments. But
there are two performances that I kind of raised my
eyebrow at and wonder, all right, do I start buying
these teams a little bit more? Or did this raise
a little bit more concern? One the Rams Texans game.
Oh I forget the Rams?

Speaker 2 (56:01):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (56:01):
Uh? Why oh please?

Speaker 2 (56:05):
I mean my goodness, did you see them struggle today?
Not offensive? Non existent. I mean, if it wasn't from
Puka to Coolod they even complete a pass. They're done,
so please, they're done. So man, it's O v R
for the Rams. Stop.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
Well I did I do want to point out that
they beat a team fourteen to nine that you claim
has already won its division.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
I tried to tell you Stroud was not that great
of a quarterback three years ago.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
You do, you are, okay tonight. You spend a lot
of time like yourself on the back for things, and
I don't know that you said.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
Oh, come on, you remember I said in the exhibition season,
I go, no, no, no, no, this.

Speaker 1 (56:41):
Kid can't play that before we after he won Rookie
of the Year.

Speaker 2 (56:44):
Well, you had a good one year, and now he's
come back to form.

Speaker 3 (56:47):
The offensive line. Shuffling of the Texans today it was
like a game of musical chair. It was astounding ridiculous.
They were already missing one guy, and hey, can you
play tackle?

Speaker 2 (56:57):
Try that center?

Speaker 3 (56:59):
Okay, just don't be the center today. Can you play that?
And then somebody else got hurt, and then the second
guy got hurt.

Speaker 1 (57:05):
So I'm a little bit more forgiving. I guess both
those teams and Arnie is and then the Niners. It's
not easy to go on the road and win. In Seattle,
they beat him seventeen to thirteen. Brock party through for
two hundred and seventy seven yards and two scores. McCaffrey
ran the ball a lot. I don't know that Sam
Sam Darnell looked bad or do the ball Okay, he

(57:25):
was sacked. I didn't have a high QB rating, but
I don't know. I kind of thought that was impressive
for Samvis just go to start the season, go on
the road and get a win.

Speaker 2 (57:33):
Tebby where you heard this before. Kittles is hurt, McCaffrey's
heard stoppy when you've heard this before.

Speaker 3 (57:39):
Caffrey was okay today.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
Yeah, man, I was just gonna say they weren't like hurt.

Speaker 3 (57:43):
He got over thirty touches.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
I mean, yeah, that's like that won't that won't keep up,
trust me on that.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
By the way, Juwan Jennings wide receiver left with a
shoulder injury, and tight end George Kittle left early hamstring entry.

Speaker 2 (57:56):
Kit would have lost that game too.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
Today did finish with four catches for twenty five yards
and a touchdown is Adam.

Speaker 3 (58:03):
We talked about the coaches like John Harborough and earlier.
Of course, the forty nine Ers coach Kyle Shanahan has
blown some games late as well, but for Brock Purty,
it winds up one in the win column in this
with the touchdown pass in the last two minutes. First
time in his career he's thrown a touchdown pass in
the last seven minutes of regulation or overtime when they

(58:23):
were in a close game, a one score game.

Speaker 2 (58:25):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (58:26):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (58:26):
I was gonna give Willard krap If the forty nine
Ers last week.

Speaker 1 (58:29):
I was good that man.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
He fired them.

Speaker 1 (58:31):
Winning hasn't stopped you from giving them crap in. You
didn't catch your last statement. That's all right. Well sorry,
I tried to bring up some other games. But this
all comes back to Arnie being grumpy because of the Dolphins.
So when we come back, Todd Furman joins us with
Arnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio. It's
Vegas with a stinking genius. Arnie Span you're on, Chris Plank.
We got one more game Monday Night football. But let's

(58:53):
recap what we learned from week one with our man
Todd Furman at Todd Furman on Twitter, how about us
finish tonight? I mean, I don't know where to go
on that except just a tip of the cap to
the Bills and that question, Todd, how does this keep happening?

Speaker 2 (59:08):
To the ray fits.

Speaker 8 (59:09):
Only fitting for me. Had the over and Thursday night's
game between the Cowboys and Eagles and ended up with
a Ravens plus one ticket tonight, So a fun way
to kind of book end the weekend. But you do wonder,
I mean, we've seen this before from the Baltimore Ravens,
an inability to close out games, and while you joke
about it during the regular season, you begin to wonder
if it's something endemic. And the way that they're coaching

(59:29):
these late game situations, the play calling when you have
a chance to bleed the clock, and something that I
think has lost on a lot of folks that I
tweeted in real time. When you go up fifteen who
had forty to twenty five, why are you not going
for two to make it a three score game with
one play when you've been able to run the ball
at will. Buffalo is shown an inability to crash off
of the edge. Instead, you missed the extra point and

(59:50):
you open up the door for the Bills to come
charging through, and they took full advantage. So credit Josh
Allen and Company for the forty one to forty victory.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
DoD You mentioned real time, what kind of odds can
you get when Baltimore was ninety nine point chance of
winning the game? What do you get five ten the one?
What do you get on something like that?

Speaker 8 (01:00:07):
Yeah? Ten to one was the price tag that most
I saw one of the more prominent offshore books. Again,
a terrible bet long term, not something that you're going
to be able to make money doing. Of course, hindsight
being twenty twenty, here you have Buffalo racing a fifteen
point fourth quarter deficit for the first time since nineteen
fifty seven. So I guess Arnie to your point, they
were eventually due to be able to erase that kind

(01:00:28):
of two score deficits late in the contest.

Speaker 1 (01:00:31):
Now, I'm not here to reign on anyone's National Football
League Week one parade? How about them sooners, Baby, I've
waited until you came on with me, Todd to bring
this up, because I know Arnie's just a fuddy do
tonight because of his Dolphins. They punched Michigan in the mouth,
this physical, big ten team that was supposed to come
in here and push around Oklahoma Todd. They played big

(01:00:52):
boy football and I'm I mean, I am excited about
what they did.

Speaker 8 (01:00:57):
They is overworld the credit. They came out with a
great script. We were able to get an early lead
and force Michigan out of its comfort zone with a
true freshman quarterback in Bryce Underwood. And while I can
be critical of Sharon More in the way Michigan elected
to try and play three yards in a cloud of
dust instead of unleashing the kid and getting him out
of known passing situations against the Brent Venable's defense, Oklahoma

(01:01:17):
deserves a ton of credit. They show, to your point, Chris,
a ton of physicality both along the offensive and defensive line.
Mattier a little bit more of a gamer than what
we saw from Jackson Arnold when he was under center
last year. And you know, the Sooners have now established
a foundation and created a path for an eight nine,
maybe even a ten win season if they're able to
try and keep this up. My big question is what

(01:01:38):
this win will mean at the end of the year.
Do we have more questions about Michigan as a result
of it? But no one should take anything away from
Oklahoma holding serve at home, exceeding Oddsmaker's expectations and setting
themselves up quite nicely before they get into the sick
of sec play.

Speaker 2 (01:01:52):
All right, Ton, I need an estimate. I know you're
not going to have the answer on this, but I
do need an estimate. I didn't even know you can
bet a nineteen team money lane and parlay for teams
that are like thirty to thirty five point favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
But what of our listeners sent that in? All the
teams were thirty to thirty five point favorites. No, No,
you're not giving him proper.

Speaker 2 (01:02:10):
Okay, but he said that in and I said, oh,
that's not so tough to do, Todd, I said I
could do that. So I gave out seventeen teams on
Saturday morning that we're gonna win on the money line.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Really, I made them all with Ohio State grambling in.

Speaker 2 (01:02:24):
The right right, and I took all the thirty point
favorites and they all won. What kind of odds would
I've gotten on seventeen teams being all, you know what
what being more.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Back in there, I was playing not good and the
one what I gotten.

Speaker 8 (01:02:42):
There belong and the short of it is not good.
And if you're asking me to do the math in
my head, no, for seventeen thirty plus point favorite, that's
not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
No.

Speaker 6 (01:02:50):
Rough roughly, that's what we call in this business.

Speaker 8 (01:02:53):
A bridge jumper parlay. And you're actually better off long
term looking to play all of those underdogs on the
money line, more so than place favors, because all you
have to do is probably hit one of those dogs
and you're sitting pretty. And we saw a couple of
instances of that unfolding like we do every Saturday in
college football. Eastern Michigan was a twenty two and a
half point favorite. They lose outright to Long Island, and
then of course we saw Florida close as an eighteen

(01:03:14):
point favorite against USF and the Bulls get to the
window out right there. So anytime you think you figured
out a cheat code to beat the sports.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Book, yeah, I'll run the mess.

Speaker 8 (01:03:22):
I would tell people to try and make sure they're
running the numbers, and I would second guess there get
rich quick scheme, especially it's coming with you.

Speaker 1 (01:03:29):
I had seventeen of them.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
I figured ten to one odds, twenty to one odds,
and deway game that was.

Speaker 8 (01:03:35):
There's no way that par They was paying twenty to one,
and I would probably take under four to one. If
you're using forty and fifty point favorites as your legs
and you're building around Texas Tech and Ohio.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
State, you prove my point then to everybody. That's why
you don't take a nineteen deep money line borrow.

Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
Ago and still, by the way, you still didn't have
nineteen teens.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
I had way.

Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
But hey, now should I begin speaking of excited. I'm
excited about my sooners. All I've heard is is Mike
Rabel has changed the attitude and everything in New England.
And then the Raiders went in there and punched New
England in the mouth today, which take away from that.

Speaker 8 (01:04:12):
Yeah, and oppressed the second half. It looked like the
game had kind of gotten away from the Raiders after
they had a tremendous opening drive. Script had an opportunity
to go up fourteen to nothing early in that game.
Gino Smith throws a pick then I'm not going to
attribute to him, but he throws it in tight coverage
along the sidelines. The one thing that I want to
see a little bit more of, and we'll see it
a week from tomorrow when the Raiders play a team
that can actually throw the four pass with some NFL

(01:04:34):
caliber weapons, is how that secondary will hold up. Because
Vegas very good in the trenches and a defensive line
that's quite disruptive. But there were a lot of Patriots
receivers that ran open. I haven't heard Kaysehon Boody's name
called that much since he was playing college football at LSU,
and yet he was out there tormenting the Silver and
Black secondary. So next Monday's divisional game, in that second
leg of a Monday night doubleheader between the Chargers and

(01:04:55):
Raiders a lot more intriguing, with both of those teams
one to oh with a chance to move to two
and zero and in the case of the Chargers, maybe
even have two wins in the division before everybody else
really gets out of neutral.

Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Todd based on Week one results, is there a team
that you can't wait to bet on or bet against
in Week two?

Speaker 8 (01:05:14):
It's week by week, but I think you know a
team that I'm intrigued by in Week two and haven't
bet it yet would be the New York Jets. I
think despite losing the game thirty four to thirty two,
they showed a little bit of the DNA that we're
going to see from them going forward, running the football,
commitment to the ground game, and while the defense left
a little bit to be desired. You know, it's a
group that's probably going to forge an identity unitor Aaron
Glenn's leadership. So for me with sug Jets, they'll be

(01:05:36):
much more attractive as underdog. Not a team that I'm
going to run to lay points with because I do
worry about some of the offensive limitations, but an intriguing
team nonetheless. And look, well, I know they didn't win,
and they covered by the skin of their teeth. I
think the Tennessee Titans actually put together a complete effort
against everybody's darling coming into the year in the Denver Broncos,
and cam Ward showed that he's got a little bit

(01:05:56):
more control of the offense than Will Levis and Mason
Rudolph ever had last year. So if they get some
decent coaching, I'm very intrigued to see how the Titans
improved throughout the course of the season.

Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
I want to go ahead and bet that the Dolphins
go oh and seventeen. What kind of odds could I get.

Speaker 8 (01:06:09):
On that content, Well, you'll get a pretty good price, Arnie.
All it takes is if you want to hedge that bet.
I mean, they're going to be a favorite next week
against the New England Patrons. Although I do think we
see them Patriots money coming in. It was not what
I would call a buttoned up effort from Miami at
all in the season opener day. Sloppy and careless with
the football and inability to generate the pass rush. And
while I have questions about the Raiders secondary, the Dolphins

(01:06:31):
defensive backfield might actually be worse if they don't get home.
So if they can't slot on the Patriots passing attack
next week, Arnie, then you can dust off that resume,
send it into the Dolphins front office, and maybe you
can take coach McDaniel's job. At the time of season's over.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
You should have been fired after the first quarter the
ghost tarkbrook In team today.

Speaker 1 (01:06:49):
But maybe the Falcons, with their chance they had to
force overtime. That missis yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:06:54):
I mean Yohuku had struggled with his confidence in the
past and not exactly the way that you want to
see things start. That's a very makeable kick, you know what,
forty three forty four yards and you saw the frustration
from him. Now Falcons fans kind of wait with baited
breath as Drake London wasn't out there at the end
of the game. If they're down one of their top weapons,
it makes things that much more problematic, and especially the

(01:07:14):
opponent that they lost to. I mean, it's a two
game swing in the standings against a Bucks team that
was a little bit shorthanded, and you let a glorious
opportunity get away from you there. So clearly one of
the more backbreaking losses that we'll see, and Atlanta'll have
their hands full before they travel to the Twin Cities
and Sunday Night Football next week to take on the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
Dodd.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
By the way, in Arnie's fictional rankings, green Bay number one,
the best team right now after week number one, Dodd,
what do you think?

Speaker 8 (01:07:40):
Yeah, I mean, look, I think Green Bay has the
potential to be a top five team, but I'm not
going to say they're number one by any stretch. Offensively,
they need some of these weapons to continue to emerge.
I like what I saw for Matthew Golden and his debut.
You know, Michael Parsons is only going to get stronger
as the season progresses. But a combination of factors, I
think this added much to do with the adjustments that

(01:08:01):
the Lions are going to be going through. The Green
Bay deserves a world of credit anytime you have a
two score win in the division to kick things off.
You can build momentum at a very quick turnaround for
the Packers playing host to the Washington Commanders on Thursday,
which should be a phenomenal way to start.

Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
We two great stuff is always Todd, appreciate it. Talk
to you again next Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Thanks.

Speaker 8 (01:08:19):
Always a pleasure, gentlemen, look forward to it as always.

Speaker 1 (01:08:21):
There he is Todd Freman at Todd Freman on Twitter.
Here comes our guy, Steve D. Seger with everything that's
trending in the world of sports. What's going on, Steve,
you talked about the Dolphins. Dolphins Hall of Famer Larry
Zonka tweeted after the opening day loss today it says
simply unprepared, uninspired, unacceptable indian that Larry Indianapolis scored on

(01:08:45):
everything metage of that beat Miami thirty three to eight,
and Pittsburgh won on a late sixty yard field goal
thirty four to thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
Two of the jet I'm not going to even say
that we had.

Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
One of the games of the year. It's not going
out on a limb already. On night number one of
the NFL Sunday Night schedule, forty one forty, Buffalo comes
back to beat Baltimore on a field goal on the
final play. The Bills had trailed by fifteen with four
minutes left. Derrick Henry a key fumble with three minutes
to go. San Francisco in a touchdown pass with under

(01:09:16):
two minutes left. One at Seattle seventeen thirteen, victories for
the Rams, Denver and Green Bay beat Detroit twenty seven
to thirteen, wins for Jacksonville and Washington Road wins for
Las Vegas and Arizona, Cincinnati edge Cleveland seventeen sixteen, and
Tampa Bay was a twenty three to twenty winner. At Atlanta.
More details than about ten minutes. Carlos Alcarez won the

(01:09:37):
US Open, beating number one seed Yanick Center. Alcarez will
regain the number one ranking. He had swept Novak Djokovic
in the semifinal in New York. Denny Hamlin took the
NASCAR race at Saint Louis, his fifth victory of the year.
Hamlin started from the poll and led the most laps.
Last week's winner, Chase Briscoe, finished second.

Speaker 2 (01:09:55):
In the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
Las Vegas won its fourteenth straight game, beating Chicago eight
to sixty six tonight the Chicago Sky ten and thirty two.
The WNBA regular season ends this Thursday.

Speaker 9 (01:10:07):
LA.

Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
B oh, that's too bad, I know, LA, just in
time for football.

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
La.

Speaker 3 (01:10:11):
You know I did read that. When they finally set
when our finals are going to start in the WNBA,
they put it opposite the first weekend of the baseball
playoffs and college football and the NFL. I'm sure by
all means expand the summer season. Good John. LA beat
the Dallas Wings and Dallas is nine and thirty four.

(01:10:31):
Indiana won its game ninety four sixty five at Washington
Baseball Yankees over Toronto for to three. Now the Blue
Jays are first in the Al East, but just two
games over the Yanks, three and a half up on
the Red Sox. Today it was Max Freed sixteen and five,
beating Max Schurzer. Boston won seven to four at Arizona.
The save to Eraaldis Chapman is twenty ninth, his eras

(01:10:53):
down to zero point nine to eight. I brought up
on the previous show. Eraaldis Chapman has now retired fifty
straights fifty seventeen straight appearances since July.

Speaker 1 (01:11:04):
Did he strike out four?

Speaker 3 (01:11:06):
In today?

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
Whife? Did the catcher drop one or something or arrow?

Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
I just saw after that someone mentioned four in other words,
an extra hitter, and he still retired him and by strikeout.
The Dodgers won five two at Baltimore Shootani two homers
he has forty eight and Seattle won eighteen to two
at Atlanta. Cal Rowley is fifty third home run.

Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
Back to you, thanks Steve. We got a lot more
to Segur coming up in our next segment, yep, because
he's going to get to all the news notes and
highlights that he didn't get too right there.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
Hey, I get still we get to the Phillies girl,
I mean, we got it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
Why we got a whole NFL days. But that's pretty
about that is like going viral.

Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
Talk about Karen the Phillies Karen the Phillies dands with
that awful haircut.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
Well, did you hear the latest that came out? I
don't know if you heard, but she did that twice
now in the game. Not only did she do that
to the guys, she also did that to somebody else
earlier in the game to claim that it was her
ball and they gave her the ball. She got two balls?
You doing that? Yeah, that's insane. I know the z
that chy video of it.

Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Hopefully, hopefully it was worth it for her.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
I guess awesome. I just couldn't.

Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
I mean, listen, some moron runs and gets a baseball
and Arnie wants to talk about it for twenty minutes
just because his Dolphins lost and he's ignoring the NFL.
It's only the most watched it's only the most watched league.
There is no no, no, no. Let's talk about some
dumb chick and a baseball.

Speaker 2 (01:12:35):
Go ahead, easy, easy.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
A lot of people did watch it, though.

Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
I got all kinds of people who were sending me
stuff on the video and making their comments. And she
definitely get in the backlash. There's no doubt about that.
She deserves it.

Speaker 1 (01:12:50):
The best part of the video is how it scared
the heck out of the dad whenever she just pied, oh,
I know his reaction. You did like a little. I
don't know what happened there. Now, are you okay? If
I read Roger the Engineer's tweet? Show now or do
you have anything else non football? You want to get to?

Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
Go ahead? Great? Quick? Al right?

Speaker 1 (01:13:08):
Roger checks in.

Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
You're right.

Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
So the Chiefs real problem was left tackle. And if
you notice, Josh Shimmons played well, they got Jalen Moore
from San Francisco to play the left side. Now that
he isn't needed on the left, he may replace Taylor
on the right because of the penalties. The real problem
in Game one was the defense. Remind Arnie they lost
to Game one in twenty twenty one and we're in

(01:13:30):
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Well, is he gonna write that when they start off
one in three? Is that was that what he's gonna write?
I'm sure you will, because you know they aren't starting
off one and three.

Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
And the Dolphins have the easy schedule on I say,
you can't do that to be the Dolphins are the
worst team in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
I already already gave you that. But Kansas City will
lose the Philadelphia, they'll beat the Giants, and the loss,
by the.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
Way, that Philly game is next week, Super Bowl rematch
next Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
Yeah, so they'll start off one in three.

Speaker 1 (01:13:59):
So you've got him winning the losing to Philly next week.
That's so and two, right, and then they beat the Giants.
That's one and two.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
And who's the week after the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
I don't know, man, He'll be curious to see how
the Ravens bounce back from this. But it's possible. Yeah,
it's possible. Won't put it past them, all right. When
we come back to Saga rejoins us, we'll get caught
up on all of the storylines that caught his eye.
Plus we've got postgame sound. We're gonna hit the locker
room from Buffalo after that crazy finished. We got Mike
rabel and defending his team, Michael Parsons in his first

(01:14:31):
appearance as a Packer, plus Liam Cohen getting a win today.
That's right, I mentioned the Jaguars. It's all coming up
with Arnie and Plank right here on Fox Sports Radio.
I was Sam bringing the smooth, smooth dulcet tones tonight,
and we'll get more in the mood I think, is
that right? Steve de Sager is in the house. What's
going on, Steve?

Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
Well, we've been talking about some greatness, including the great
comeback of Buffalo beating Baltimore somehow forty one forty tonight
on a field goal on the final play. That's just
a still stunning that that occurred. I saw a list
of in this century, it's only four times that a
team was down fifteen or more with less than four
to ten to play on the clock and still came

(01:15:12):
back to win. The other three wanted in overtime. This
was still in regulation. That kind of a comeback late
in the game. And by the way, in two of
those four games, the winning field goal from Matt Prater
because he was in one of those games, a Tim
Tebow comeback for the Broncos. Over a decade ago, we
had Aaron Rodgers throw four touchdown passes and a Steelers
win at the Jets thirty four to thirty two.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
How many times in his.

Speaker 3 (01:15:33):
Career has Rogers had a game with at least four
TD passes and no interceptions.

Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
This was the twenty eighth.

Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
Time in his career he's had that That times with
Tom Brady for the most in NFL history to have
at least four tds no interceptions in a game. And
on the bad side, you got the Titans and the Giants.
Tennessee was actually winning at Denver twelve to ten in
the third quarter. Joey Sly four for four on field goals.
There were six total turnovers in this game. It's not

(01:16:02):
going to the Smithsonian. Denver comes back to win twenty
to twelve. Rookie cam Ward the first twenty five times
he dropped back to pass that got him fifty one
yards passing net ouch and so yet again an l
for a quarterback that was taken number one overall in
his first career start. You go back twenty plus years,

(01:16:23):
it's almost always a loss in your first career start
after you're taken number one overall. A notable exception, the
only exception Caleb Williams won his first last year.

Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
Did you see there was a Tennessee receiver that dropped
the ball late in the game and cam Ward's father
his reactions to the drop It was hysterical.

Speaker 3 (01:16:45):
The Titans offense had fourteen drives and seven first downs.
They punted eight times, no touchdowns, sacks six times. I
thought it was Weaber State out.

Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
There for just ooh wow, too easy.

Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Thirteen penalties for ten worth one hundred and thirty one yards.
The offense only had one hundred and thirty three total yards.
Broncos with four turnovers, three by quarterback bow Knicks, but
the Titans offense on third down conversions two of fourteen.
So Denver did come back to win at home. And
there's the Giants, the NFC's lowest scoring team. Last year,

(01:17:19):
they averaged sixteen points a game. They had two field goals.
Today they lost.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Anything they would have beat the Commanders, they weren't.

Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
Yeah, the Commanders were not.

Speaker 3 (01:17:26):
Running away with this game twenty one sixth the final
at Washington, Deebo Samuel with a late nineteen yard touchdown run.
He had seven catches seventy seven yards. But for the Giants,
this is now three opening days in a row without
an offensive touchdown. Associated Press looked it up going back
to the nineteen fifties, only one other NFL team has

(01:17:47):
gone three straight season openers without an offensive touchdown. That
was amazingly the Packers twenty years ago. But the Giants, hey,
wait till next year. They might have the record, and one.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Media hugger Daniel j they should try to get it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:01):
Yeah, should have had him maybe something, or just play
the Dolphins every week. You have the stats. But Jackson
dart according to one media member in New Jersey, agreed
to speak with the reporters after the loss, but a
Giant spokesman shut down the interview before it could begin
and refuse to let either backup quarterback talk to the media.

Speaker 1 (01:18:23):
Weird.

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Pro Football Talk noted that all players in the NFL
are required to be available after every game and once
during the week, and the Giants quote consistently have declined
to make dart or Jamis Winston available.

Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Dark They had about six plays for Jackson Dartford.

Speaker 3 (01:18:41):
Yesday, so he's worth actually asking something.

Speaker 2 (01:18:43):
They didn't put him in, but I thought they were
actually going to running for about five six plays.

Speaker 3 (01:18:47):
Arizona won its game at New Orleans twenty to thirteen.
Kyler Murray two short touchdown passes and Marvin Harrison Junior
had five catches seventy one yards and one of those tds.
Total is seven penalties in the quarter of that game
at New Orleans. They wound up with twenty two penalties
total in that game, the Saints on red zone tds
were just one for four. Las Vegas won at New

(01:19:10):
England twenty to thirteen rainy day there This is a
matchup of the Raiders, who last year had the league's
worst rushing team by far and then drafted Ash and
genty Patriots, the worst offense in the AFC last year
and the worst pass offense gent nineteen carries thirty eight yards.

Speaker 2 (01:19:26):
Yeah, big deal.

Speaker 3 (01:19:27):
He did have one TD A Raiders tight end Brock
Bauers five catches one hundred three yards. He did leave
with the knee injury. He says he's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:19:35):
I don't know. I don't know if he's okay. We'll see.

Speaker 3 (01:19:38):
So you know more than the player himself.

Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
I know what the doctors are saying.

Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
Because I know all weekend. Christian McCaffrey said, doesn't matter
that I misspractice Friday. I'm okay. And he got more
touches than any Niner ever has on opening Day. He
had nine receptions seventy three yards, McCaffrey sixty nine yards
rushing and they win the close game with the td
with under two minutes left at Seattle. And there's the

(01:20:02):
Atlanta loss at home Tampa Bay twenty three, twenty rookie
of Mecca Buka two touchdown receptions, Bajohn Robinson an early
fifty yard TD reception, but the Falcons missed a forty
four yard field goal attempt final seconds.

Speaker 1 (01:20:14):

(01:20:37):
In the NFL Power Hour, Power Our Company Live from
the Fox Sports Radio Studios. That's Ronnie Spaniel. I'm Chris Blank.
You feeling any better?

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
I have a conflict of interest maybe Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
Conflict of interest Saturday night, guy, I.

Speaker 2 (01:20:57):
Don't want to watch the A and M Notre Dame
game and thirty kind of yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
It's probably gonna be one of the best games of
the week.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
I don't know. I know that, I know it.

Speaker 6 (01:21:07):
Well.

Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
My my wife is driving back up from Connecticut and
she wants to go out to dinner on Friday because
it's the game. It's our thirtieth wedding anniversary, so it's
like she expects me to do something special for that,
but we can't go Friday. You know why we can't
do Friday?

Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
Why is that when Arizona plays? Can't go on Friday?

Speaker 2 (01:21:31):
Arizona gonna watch him kick the crap out of Kansas State.
So and Saturdays the A and M Notre Dame game.
I'm like, you should have been here Tuesday when our
anniversary is so, don't blame me. I can't do that.
I didn't do anything. Can you do? No?

Speaker 1 (01:21:46):
I wish I had the control over my home that
you appear to have right now, or at least all
this crap you make up.

Speaker 2 (01:21:52):
Our anniversary is Tuesday, You're not here. I can't do
anything about that. I'm busy on Friday and Saturday. I'm
busy doing what I got. The Arizona game.

Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
I told you that.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
On Friday, so they're playing Kansas State.

Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
You uh, you would, now, I'm just saying this in general.

Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
I'll take her to the burger bar before the game.
I'll do that.

Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
You would choose to watch Arizona play Kansas State in
this uh mickey mouse conference that you call it not
even a conference game? Then I know it's weird. Then
to have a Then to have a date with your
wife for your thirty year anniversary.

Speaker 2 (01:22:34):
No, I mean, I'll take her someplace as long as
we're home by like eight forty five Eastern. Wait.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
Wait, wait, I'm sorry to butt in here, the disembodied
voice here of your tech producer. This is Is this
a second year in row where Arizona and Kansas State
are like a non conference game?

Speaker 1 (01:22:48):
Yes, yes, but there it's.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Not that they're in the same conference.

Speaker 1 (01:22:53):
Correct.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
We tried to drop them, but they wouldn't. They wouldn't
let us do it.

Speaker 3 (01:22:56):
Steve, it happened yesterday in the ACC that NC State
wanted to schedule another power for for a non conference
so drop Appalachian State. And then they wanted to go
regional with the matchup. They said, how about Virginia which
is in the ACC. So they played against each other
yesterday and it won't count in the standings, but it

(01:23:17):
was a hell of a game. It was like thirty
five thirty Yeah, I think, yeah, yeah, it means nothing
for the ACC standings. That apparently wake Forest. This has
happened to them a couple times in recent years. With
you and c that's odd, I.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
Which Arizona would have candled Weaver stayed and.

Speaker 3 (01:23:30):
I read that. Mathematically, Oh yes we do, yes, we know.
In college football, teams are getting to nine conference games
like the SEC next year, joining Big Ten, joining Big twelve.
The ACC is up to seventeen teams when you include SMU,
so it's mathematically impossible to have nine conference games with
seventeen teams. They still have to figure something out. Good

(01:23:52):
luck with that, yeah, Arnie, I mean, bless your heart.
I'm really happy your Arizona Wildcats are two and zero.

Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
One are the two teams haven't given up a touchdown
this year.

Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
It's got to be the softest to and zero in
college football right now, right up there with maybe Temple
next week. Don't wait, you would.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Beat the crap out of redheaded step children Kansas State.

Speaker 1 (01:24:10):
I don't think you can say that anymore. But oh,
that's that's congratulations on that win. I think Kansas State's
gonna get you. They got beat by Army last week,
but when they almost lost the week before that. It
should be North North Dakota State fired.

Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
To Saga if they if they was, you don't have
any other guarantees or fires you can make after your
Colt slash Dolphins projecting, So just keep that to a minimum.

Speaker 1 (01:24:37):
We won't lose the King.

Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
I told you the only thing I've got left in
my sports world is my Arizona Wildcats.

Speaker 3 (01:24:43):
Starting next year, they got a home and home with
Washington State. That's their big non conference starting next year.
The Pac twelve's Washington State Cougars, who play Oregon State
twice this year.

Speaker 1 (01:24:52):
Another weird schedule. The Pack too, the Package who played
them twice.

Speaker 3 (01:24:56):
They played them twice last year, they played them twice
this year.

Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
It's a weird I don't know what's.

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Going to basketball around Robin.

Speaker 2 (01:25:02):
I wish we could wait.

Speaker 1 (01:25:02):
Wea were state ninth, Gonzaga not available. Yeah, you get
them nine times and you're good to go. I think
I would give you a chance on that front army
of making the plass. Hey, all you got to do
is win the Big Twelve to make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
We I was mad that we always scored forty eight
as we pulled our quarterback. Wait in the third or fourth.

Speaker 1 (01:25:20):
He would have been really mad if he got hurt
in a meaningless.

Speaker 10 (01:25:23):
Game seventy what's his name? Noah Fahida Fida. I thought
I wish it was Tahita because that makes me big tack.
By the way, did you go ahead your first Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
I was gonna say, our buddy Toby Roland, the greatest
college football play by play voice there is voiceless sooners Uh,
we were making Fahida jokes before Oklahoma played Arizona and
the Alamo Bowle and then got stuck in both of
our heads and about I would say three to four
times you called him Fahida on the broadcast.

Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
You know when that game finished, though, were you nah?
I was, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
I was gonna say, did you notice the new rankings out?

Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
I didn't see.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
I didn't see Arizona moving up the list or anything
that's ridiculous. See Arizona State is twenty six in the country,
just for the record. But Georgia at Georgia went down
a couple spots. Oregon is up to four and Georgia
is down to six, and Tennessee's up to fifteen and
moving way down. Michigan after last night, Michigan is twenty

(01:26:19):
three and Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Gonna lose this weekend anyway, So does it make a difference?

Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
Should be a fun one is that at Tennessee? At Tennessee,
let's go. But do you think so far of what
you've seen from Joey Aguilar? He does look good?

Speaker 2 (01:26:33):
Does he not?

Speaker 1 (01:26:33):
Or what?

Speaker 8 (01:26:34):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
I'm impressed with him. They still got the better of
the deal, did they not?

Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
Or what?

Speaker 2 (01:26:38):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
He wouldn't have lost with no joe yul By the way,
have we mentioned that the big Arizona game hosting Kansas
State is the Fox Friday night game nine pm Eastern?

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
Going out to dinner with my wife.

Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
And then Fox has Oregon at Northwestern for the big
noon kickoff on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:26:55):
Who does UCLA play this weekend?

Speaker 3 (01:26:58):
Well, they've kind of been off for two weeks, so
they have another They lost to UNLV. Yes, they have
a Friday night game host air New Mexican Herald.

Speaker 2 (01:27:07):
Yeah, but they're gonna lose.

Speaker 3 (01:27:10):
Tickets are available for ten bucks.

Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
There you go, ten dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
Yes, Friday nights.

Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
Have you ever attempted to drive from Los Angeles Capacadya
on a Friday at five o'clock?

Speaker 1 (01:27:22):
Hey, buddy, I tried to do it like twice in
the last three years in the middle of a Sunday
afternoon and didn't even get to studio in time. And
I was five miles away, and that I planned. I
left an hour early.

Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
So you got a lot too. I've never I no offense,
but I've never in my life showed up wait for
a show. And you do it regularly all the time.
I'll be ten minutes late, hour late, and an hour late.

Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
He well, well, I don't know if with this regular
tardiness that I have, I don't know how I keep
this show.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
I know. I just I never in my wife had
to call the boss at any job I had, and
today I've remembered about fifty teen minutes bind. Sorry, never
never had to do that, never in my life. I
just wanted to throw that out here. And that's all.

Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
You're better than all of us, aren't he what it is?
Better than us? Two times I got stuck in LA
traffic because I'm a hay seed from the Midwest. But
go ahead, King, tell us about your right.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Away A little context on this.

Speaker 3 (01:28:23):
The only reason he was even that late into the
traffic because he was working a second job.

Speaker 1 (01:28:29):
Right and the softball game, for some reason, lasted forever,
which also hurt me. Long behare, he.

Speaker 3 (01:28:34):
Says to his co host, who barely has one.

Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
Job, cleans about his one show. He doesn't f I
do tell me about how terrible I am with my
attendance record here on the program.

Speaker 3 (01:28:47):
Arnie, you're just mad because the Dolphins loss of the
Colts again.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Come on, look, I didn't bring you guys back to
work on this show to hear that kind of blooney.

Speaker 1 (01:28:54):
I want you to know that what kind of blowney
is at.

Speaker 2 (01:28:58):
Just truth them back because I want to get let's
go back facts.

Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
You didn't bring anyone back, but go I got rid
of that other producer, but go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Geez, absolutely no power, no for the losers on this
on this show for crying out.

Speaker 3 (01:29:13):
Line, by the way, you were talking college football and
there are actually three ranked versus ranked matchups. It's not
only A and M at Notre Dame and Georgia Tennessee,
it's eighteenth ranks South Florida at Miami.

Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
This is that kid that is going to be a
good one though. So Miami, though, is like a fifteen
point favorite in that one.

Speaker 1 (01:29:30):
Well, Florida, Florida was a sixteen point favorite. I know
that's up and look what happened that was. That was
a fun game. I caught the last quarter of that one.

Speaker 2 (01:29:38):
That was a good one to watch.

Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
I kind of liked this coach from South Florida. He's
worth keeping an eye on. He might be the next
head coach Apples look good. All right, listen, enough of
this tom foolery. Let's get after it. It's Arnie and
playing right here on Fox Sports Radio, coming to you
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Arnie, we've got
one week in the book, sans one game. We've got
Chicago and minnesot on Monday Night football. But prior to that,

(01:30:03):
after week one Thursday night, when the Dallas lost to
Philadelphia an incredibly competitive game, Friday's Chargers went over the
Chiefs and all the matness we had today, what have
you learned after week one? We know this where you start?
What I learned after week one?

Speaker 2 (01:30:16):
And I know this, And oh I was wrong on
this when I said.

Speaker 9 (01:30:19):
Oh oh, they're ready to take the next step. They're
they're ready to take the next jump. They're gonna win
the division, They're going to the playoffs. Watch out for
this team. They got it all going now. The Atlanta Falcons. Yeah,
pump the brakes on them. What an embarrassing loss today.
And I'm not saying but Tampa Bay is a bad
team or anything. You had seven points on what in

(01:30:42):
the first play of the game, and then you really
mustered nothing until late. Just horrible.

Speaker 2 (01:30:50):
And you know pendis junior, it was okay, but he
couldn't just get the They couldn't score. They had twenty overall,
but like I said, seven came early. I thought they
were just going to explode win this game, that they
were going to be a team to be reckoned with.
I'm puffing the breaks on the Falcons this year.

Speaker 1 (01:31:08):
After Week one, I know this. I want to see
the Ravens and the Bills play again, and I I'm
pretty sure it's going to happen. That was fun. It
took a Ravens mistake for Buffalo to even be in
that game. But that's what happens in these games. Teams
have got to make a mistake when you're down late.
I don't know the Buffalo learned anything. I don't know

(01:31:30):
that Baltimore learned anything. I just know that a forty
one to forty game as the exclamation point to the
first Sunday is awesome also. I also think though it
does raise a lot of questions for both teams. Right
number one, I mean just Baltimore and its leaky pass
defense late. Was it a strategical play? Did they just

(01:31:53):
was it poor secondary play? How did they let that happen?
And then conversely, just poor defense all the way around
by the Bills, aren't you? I mean Baltimore was running
through them like they were Swiss cheese or an old analogy.

Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
And you want to you want to ask him who
it's harder, the Bill's defense or the fans in the
first row. That's what I want to know.

Speaker 1 (01:32:11):
It's a good push, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
Come on, that's a good joke. Then come on, man,
give you that one for crying out loud. Pump the breaks.
After Week one I learned this, Pump the breaks. Everybody
was ready. Oh watch his team. They're going to the
super Bowl this year. They're healthy, they got the quarterback,
they signed everybody, they got the two wide receivers.

Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Pump the breaks on the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
If they would have lost to the Browns today, would
I would have said the season's o veer for them?
I mean that what they lucky they escaped with a
one point victory. All the Bengal fans out there pump
the breaks on the on your super Bowl season for
crying out loud, Well, I would disagree. Oh they look good.

(01:32:53):
You like the way they look Tonight's seventeen sixteen.

Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
What happened when they started the season last year?

Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
One in eleven?

Speaker 1 (01:32:59):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:32:59):
Is that what they were? The last two games? They won?
Two games they won? Congratulations?

Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
Yeah, wait what the Dolphins do today?

Speaker 2 (01:33:08):
Again? That you're always gonna come back to the Dolphins
because it's all you freaking talk about. A long year
for me is what's gonna happen. It's all you freaking
talk about.

Speaker 1 (01:33:18):
The Bengals have been terrible to start the season, Arnie,
absolutely positively terrible. So I don't care. I don't care
what it looked like. I don't care that it wasn't pretty.

Speaker 2 (01:33:31):
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
It goes so well. Yeah, they started zero to two.

Speaker 3 (01:33:35):
What life the exact stat was since they've hired coach
Zach Taylor in weeks one and two, the record was
one and eleven. Yeah until one in weeks one and
they should have lost today, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
And they won. So no, I'm not buying that. I disagree.
I think they're still a scary team. I want anything
to do with them now. Defensively, I'm still pretty shocked
at Cleveland might just be awful, but I'm pretty shocked
at Cleveland wasn't able to get anything going running the
football at all. But I'm not ready to sell them
at all, Arnie. They did something they don't do in

(01:34:07):
the first couple weeks of the season. They actually won.
And now I think they'll continue to do what they
do every year, which is figure things out as the
season progresses and get better and better. If Joe Burrow
stays healthy, everyone's going to freak out because you're all
fantasy nerds, and that's fine. I had to listen to
Willard and Ephraim break down all twelve of their quarterbacks.
Whenever I was driving into the show tonight, I wanted

(01:34:28):
to turn it oncoming traffic. But in the end I
realized that, hey, man, if you just if you pull
away from being a box score watcher, you can't lose
a game in that division, and you can't start like
you have the last couple of years. So little win.
But to me, I thought it was a big deal.
Poor performance I don't care they got that dub. Speaking

(01:34:49):
of that game of the day, we can talk about
a good battle between the Bills and that finished against
the Ravens might have taken it. But prior to that, Arnie,
after Week one, I know this, I think the Steelers
offense is going to be a bit of a problem,
that one that you all dumped on all sign all
off season long. Yeah, no, they did run the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:35:09):
I was hoping, like the Browns, I was hoping the
worst for Aaron Rodgers. I want you to know that.
I was like, oh, I hope you for permission, I
know exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:35:18):
You were hoping for the worst. What for the break
is leg again or nothing like physical injury. I mean
that would be the worst.

Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
Four injuries, like four interceptions or something.

Speaker 3 (01:35:27):
Relax, No, and they were they needed a shootout because
the Jets kept scoring. They needed the offense with Rogers
to keep answering. And it turned out that that one
what was its special teams fumble the kick return early
in the fourth quarter, So Rogers got a touchdown right
before that and a touchdown right after that, and then
they went on the sixty yard field goal. Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
I wish we had Justin Fields as our quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
You could have this offseason, but whenever we would bring
it up on this program, Arnie, Hey, you think you
need to do something with Tua? What would you tell
us at your quarterback? So I don't remember that? All right?
What else? You got anything else? Before we got but break?
I got two more little checklist things here mirror all right?
After week one? I know this, I was wrong. I

(01:36:14):
think the Charger is going to be a problem.

Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
Oh, definitely going to be a problem. I mean they
you know, you look and it's a little different, right.

Speaker 1 (01:36:21):
You don't see Joey Bosa out there, and he's been
a gotcha saga like a day one guy, it seemed
like with the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:36:28):
And they start like with Keenan Allen starting like that,
goes back to San Diego almost and.

Speaker 1 (01:36:33):
Yeah, I'm looking at Kenneth Murray's no longer there. I mean,
I think it's two years removed for you to go.
He did out with the Cowboys, he was in Norman
on Saturday. Let's go, by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:36:43):
The saga's not getting off for the Super Bowl if
the Chargers go. I just got to say that right now.

Speaker 1 (01:36:48):
Well again, you do not control it.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
And this will be Super Bowl sixty and they've been
to one, so unlike Arnie, I'm not making an annual proclamation.
But justin Herbert did have over three hundred yards pass
against case three touchdowns. They were just the better team
for four quarters. They deserve to win that game against
the Chiefs. Sim bersil and the bad news for the
Chiefs is Xavier Worthy with the dislocated shoulder and the

(01:37:12):
collision over the middle early, and Rashie Rice is already
serving a six game suspension and ten penalties for Casey.
And they started on third down conversions er for seven
and they missed an extra point kick and they missed
a two point pass. There's a lot to clean up.

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
Travis Kelcey didn't have a touchdown, we'd all be talking
about what a bust he was in that first game,
but you already have so I mean, I'm going where
I could say it right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
A couple of things though from that game. Number One,
I do think that there's two issues for the Chiefs.
Number One, still on the offensive line, one of those tackles.
I know, Roger the engineer says they're fine. It left, okay, Well,
they got he's right on the draft choice. But you know, Taylor,
it's been a few years now. The other side the Seger,
you watched it as close as anyone. I love Trent McDuffie.

(01:37:57):
I think outside of him, I don't think there's second there.
He's good at all. At Kansas City, I think they've
got some big problems in that secondary. We'll see if
they can figure it out. I almost hate to say
it because I know, like speaking it out loud, it
will probably magically fix it because they're the chiefs and
everything where you're like, man, that doesn't look so good.
It's like they put Mahome Save on it and suddenly

(01:38:19):
it fixes everything. But yeah, I think that they're vulnerable.
They're vulnerable to the forward pack.

Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
The AFC West does play Philadelphia's division this year. The
next game, as you reference, next Sunday, the big game
on Fox is Kansas City hosting.

Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
Philly and then one other things I learned after Week one,
and I'm not trying to be a homer here, so
I'm not going to bring up the Raiders. I heard
all off season about the greatness of the Denver Broncos,
and how here we go. This offense is going to
be something they stink yep. And the only reason why
they won today is because Tennessee couldn't get out of

(01:38:56):
its own way. Now they ran the ball. Well, I'm
telling you what are j hard? He's gonna be a stud.
But I mean, I mean, twenty five of forty QB rady,
I'd rather have two of them bone Nicks, how about that?
Oh wow? Yeah, fumbly wise, they lost two of them.
They recovered two fumbles their own. I mean, Bonnicks threw

(01:39:19):
two picks. And this isn't some sort of juggernaut defense
they went up against. I don't know. I'm just I
know that he became suddenly bo Breeze and everyone thought
this was the next great quarterback for Sean Peyton. But
I don't know any It's not what I saw today. No,
I gut, you're going to bring that up.

Speaker 2 (01:39:35):
That would be when I was gonna pump the brakes
on it. Also with them in Cincinnati and Kansas City
and San Francisco. Yeah, No, I was not impressed. Probably
shouldn't have won the game. They weren't playing a juggernaut team.
There's certainly that was certainly true, and they had to
come up with that touch out in the fourth quarter
just to win the game. So no, I'm not buying
them for a second.

Speaker 3 (01:39:55):
Denver's first three road games this year they're at Indie
against the team it has yet to be stopped on
any drive. That's next Sunday, and then at LA in
the Chargers home opener in a couple of weeks. And then,
as mentioned, everybody in that division is playing the NFC East.
Denver is at Philadelphia to start October.

Speaker 2 (01:40:13):
If you could score on every drive, you'll win the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (01:40:16):
Let me write this down.

Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
That's what you call goods. There you go, how's out
of an analysis?

Speaker 1 (01:40:21):
All right? When we come back to the Fox Sports
radio studios, we'll hit your tweets next right here with
Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday. Al right
it Darni and Plank on a flat.

Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
Over till it's over for Miami. Don't make it over,
do you?

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
What do you think it's pretty over?

Speaker 1 (01:40:38):
It's like literally all you've said all night long, Like,
what do you mean?

Speaker 5 (01:40:45):
Go?

Speaker 2 (01:40:45):
We're playing New England next week. We'll win that game.

Speaker 1 (01:40:48):
So okay, basically, let's just just a moment here.

Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
I bet that you know, I was going to bet
one hundred don't bet on anything, No, no, I was
going to bet one hundred. Dive put this in Roman
numeral number number nine.

Speaker 1 (01:41:00):
Yeah, when you send the Roman numeral rundown at seven
AM on a football Sunday and you don't wait to
do the rundown until you watch the games, I pretty
much tap out.

Speaker 2 (01:41:10):
Well, I pretty much saw what's going to happen in
Roman numeral number nine, number sub number three. If you
bet one hundred dollars on Tua to win the MVP
and the Dolphins to win the Super Bowl, you got
back fifty thousand, right, But they're not gonna do it.
Well now they're not going to do it. But before
the before the game will looked pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:41:31):
No it didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:41:32):
But Dally you did.

Speaker 1 (01:41:33):
This is the dumbest thing I think you've ever said
in the history of this radio show.

Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
But I just before the game started, you said, Okay,
this is Miami's year, and two is gonna take him there?

Speaker 1 (01:41:43):
One hundred dollars parts Absolutely nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
Was saying that. I was saying that maybe you were
the only person. You're that's the guy who about one
hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:41:53):
Your fellow homers, your your fellow freaking dolphin homers wouldn't
even think.

Speaker 2 (01:41:58):
That someone bet the hundred. However, bet one hundred hours
did Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Who was it?

Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
Just just a regular schmo?

Speaker 1 (01:42:07):
So you and that regular shmo? Yeah, is it supposed
to be like some beat your chest?

Speaker 2 (01:42:13):
You're right? Mom?

Speaker 1 (01:42:14):
Where on you or what I just said?

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
I just said if you if you've bet one hundred dollars,
you would have won fifty. But that's not looking real
good right now.

Speaker 1 (01:42:22):
No, Okay, my mind is in a pretzel right now
with you because you start this show crying, complaining. You've
been a baby for two hours. Now all of a
sudden you're like, hey, man, don't count us out.

Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
Well, I'm just you know, I'm just trying to, you know,
move on, man, Okay, I'm just tried to move on
from that loss to Indianapolis. It was a hard one.

Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
Yes, it was hard one. Because you're not very good
speaking of that. You know, maybe we do wowe you
a little bit from that game, because we really haven't
talked about it too much, and I do think that
there is some credit that he needs to be giving.
The one Danny die was the right. I mean, listen,
Daniel Jones try for guy out. Yeah he tried. You
did try. You tried to tell me last year how

(01:43:07):
good Daniel Daniel Jones could be as a starter, And
I told you he's cooked, he's finished, he's done, and
he went out.

Speaker 2 (01:43:14):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:43:14):
Granted, Miami might be terrible, but for one day it
was good news for Shane Steiking.

Speaker 5 (01:43:20):
It was huge. Like I said, we want to stay
on schedule and complay balls. I don't remember what the
sorts of stats twenty two or twenty nine for two
seventy two and.

Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
A touchdown and two rushing touchdowns.

Speaker 5 (01:43:28):
Yeah, he played good ball. You know, we got to
continue that every week. It's one week at a time,
but that's the preparation he puts in. He was ready
to roll, and guys went out there and made plays.

Speaker 1 (01:43:38):
Bump. Meanwhile, here's Tua Afterwards.

Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
I wouldn't say I'm pressing.

Speaker 1 (01:43:42):
I would say it's part of the game.

Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
Like you, you obviously don't want to turn it over.

Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
I thought that was a wild comment that I turned
the ball over in bunches.

Speaker 2 (01:43:51):
That's crazy. It just so happened. That's what happened today.

Speaker 1 (01:43:54):
Only thing worse than Dolphins did. The audio from their
press conference. Go ahead, Arnie, No, you did turn over
the ball, and just really wild to say that.

Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
Now say that? Why is that wild to.

Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
Say that to it?

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
Yeah, the matter of fact joined the interception and then
the fumble on back to back series if I remember correctly,
and then the third the second interception came a little
bit later on. But that's man, gosh, that's horrible. Real
quick though, that there is a savior and it just
came across our Twitter, and you know what that is,
don't you know?

Speaker 1 (01:44:24):
What's that?

Speaker 2 (01:44:25):
I would I would just be so oh my goodness
if this happened, I'd be the happiest guy in the world.
Timothy Wright Stolphins need John Gruden.

Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
I mean, I love John Gruden, but I love the answer.
He wasn't really the answer for three years in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
Most recently he was the answer when he won one
in Tampa.

Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
Well that was like before I was right.

Speaker 1 (01:44:49):
I mean, what are we going back to here?

Speaker 2 (01:44:51):
Look what going You're giving me a choice between John
Gruden and the chemistry tutor? What are you doing to me?
What are you doing to me?

Speaker 1 (01:44:59):
I mean, you whatever you want, but I'm just saying
I saw him where he wasn't all that great whenever
he was in Vegas. Give me so spent a lot
of time clowning on him too.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
I'll buy a chucky doll and a heartbeat.

Speaker 1 (01:45:11):
Well, good luck, right, because now you've got Gruden coaching
them after you just had them bouncing back and winning.

Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
Next week you okay, over there, Hey, I need a
new car. I'll take Nick Saban at this point, I
don't care. Oh oh great, start that rumor the greatest
of all time in college football. Don't know, I have
more post game audio. We got more of your tweets
to get to. Here's Steve di Seger.

Speaker 1 (01:45:36):
Though. First, with everything that's trended in the NFL, you.

Speaker 2 (01:45:40):
Think he's going to the super Bowl because the Chargers
are going.

Speaker 3 (01:45:42):
So John Gruden's first five years in the league, Hey there,
we're so good, including getting to play his old team
in that Super Bowl when they didn't change their play
calls or terminology.

Speaker 2 (01:45:53):
Very very wise.

Speaker 3 (01:45:55):
So he started out fifty and thirty as a coach. Oh,
in all the years after that, it's about fifty and seventy,
fifty and eighty something like that. So yeah, John group
seventeen this year, he's had losing seasons. People Buffalo with
an incredible comeback to beat Baltimore in the Sunday Night
football game forty one forty on a field goal on

(01:46:17):
the final play. The Bills trailed by fifteen points with
four minutes left. Here, the Bills had missed three two
point conversions in the second half, missed all three passes,
but the Ravens missed an extra point kick early fourth quarter.
Derrick Henry, who had a monster knight, had nonetheless a
key fumble with about three minutes left. Henry in the
first half on only nine carries, had over one hundred

(01:46:39):
and twenty yards rushing in a score.

Speaker 2 (01:46:41):
A fan should have gotten in his face. See what happened.

Speaker 3 (01:46:43):
I would love to see the result of that. Eighteen
carries for Henry one hundred and sixty nine yards, two touchdowns.
Lamar Jackson of Baltimore three total tds on the ground.
The quarterback had six carries seventy yards rushing. Zay Flowers
seven catches one hundred and forty three yards in a
score and they can't protect a late double digit lead.

three hundred and ninety four yards passing two point fifty
one in the fourth quarter alone. Keon Coleman with eight
receptions one hundred and twelve yards at a score. The
Bills win their opener at home. Green Bay led Detroit
at the half seventeen to three. Jordan Loved two touchdown passes.

(01:47:25):
Green Bay beat the Lions twenty seven to eleven. Jared
Goff a late touchdown pass, but he had one interception
sacked four times. Goff was thirty one of thirty nine,
but for just two hundred and twenty five yards. Amenda
Saint Brown with just four catches on the ground, the
Lions as a team twenty two carries just forty six
yards rushing. San Francisco got Brock Parties two touchdown passes

(01:47:46):
and two interceptions, but did win late at Seattle seventeen
to thirteen. The Niners on field goals one for three.
They had nine penalties as well, and tight end George
Kittle left early with a hamstring injury, and wide receiver
Juwan Jennings suffered shoulder injury and still on a touchdown
pass with under two minutes left. The Niners win. Ricky
Piersoll four catches one hundred eight yards. Yeah, a big

(01:48:08):
one at the end too. Christian McCaffrey nine catches seventy
three yards plus almost seventy yards rushing. Seattle's Kenneth Walker
ten carries twenty yards rushing the Rams Pukinakua ten catches
one hundred thirty yards. Rams fourteen to nine over Houston
Texans with eleven penalties two turnovers. Today they did go
three for three on field goals. They're only scoring. Kymi

(01:48:30):
Fairbairn from UCLA hit from forty five from fifty one
from fifty three yards out. Nico Collins held to three receptions.
Denver twenty to twelve over Tennessee Broncos with four turnovers,
but the Titans, on fourteen drives only had seven first downs.
Indianapolis scored on all seven drives and beat Miami thirty
three to eight to a tongue of I looa three turnovers,

(01:48:52):
one late TD pass. On the positive side, Jordan Brooks
with fourteen tackles. Washington beat up the Giants twenty one
six on the pause sighed Bobbyocarake with sixteen tackles. Malik
Neighbors of the Giants was targeted twelve times, had five
catches for seventy one yards. Tyrone Tracy ten carries just
twenty four yards rushing. The game at Jacksonville was suspended

(01:49:14):
by lightning in the second quarter, suspended for over an hour,
eventually the win for the home team and Travis Etenna.
The jag sixteen carries one hundred and forty three yards rushing.
Pittsburgh won thirty four to thirty two at the Jets
on the sixty sixty yardfield goal with about a minute
to go. The Jets missed two two point conversions and
lost by two. Can we just say that again out loud?

(01:49:38):
This is exactly how Lloyd Carr lost to Appalachian State
years ago. Las Vegas a winner at New England twenty
to thirteen, Gino Smith three hundred and sixty two yards
passing one touchdown, one interception in the rain. Arizona won
twenty to thirteen at New Orleans Saints on red zone
tds one for four. Cincinnati won seventeen sixteen at Cleveland

(01:49:59):
Browns missed an extra point kick and a field goal
attempt in the second half. Tampa Bay won at Atlanta
twenty three to twenty Falcons fist to forty four yard
field goal attempt in the final seconds and by the
way for Atlanta wide receiver Drake London a sprain shoulder
and wide receiver Darnell Mooney was not active due to
a bad shoulder. Dodgers won five two at Baltimore, two

(01:50:19):
homers for Shoho Tani. He has forty eight. Seattle won
eighteen to two at Atlanta cow Raley as fifty third homer.
Denny Hamlin took the NASCAR Race US Open victory for
Carlos Alcarez and final note. Luka Donsi scored forty two
points today. Slovenia advanced to the quarterfinals at the EuroBasket
tournament and it wasn't a high scoring game. He scored
forty two out of eighty four. Wow, they'll be in

(01:50:42):
a quarterfinal Wednesday. Greece has a Tuesday quarterfinal because Giantisan
Tenakumpo had thirty seven points in twenty nine minutes as
they edged Israel today and I must mention Lowry Markinen
from the Arizona wildcare Yeah then had twenty nine in
a victory for Finland in a huge upset over Serbia

(01:51:05):
and Nicola Jokich yesterday to advance to the quarters. Jokich
had thirty three points in defeat.

Speaker 1 (01:51:10):
Back to you, Steve, have.

Speaker 2 (01:51:11):
A great week, man, Steve, have a good one. You
still not going to the super Bowl? Hey? Steve?

Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
Where again? I mean, I hate to play into the pit,
but like, what even would.

Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
It is in California this year and it's at the
Rams Charger Stadium one year from now?

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Doesn't the four like do you? Pretty much?

Speaker 1 (01:51:31):
Always?

Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
Yeah? Control what he can and can't do. I will,
I will, by the way, real, I want to get
this out of the way. Books. I forgot. We got
a rules problem here. We got a problem in the NFL,
and the best player is the one that caused it.
And now he's going to get somebody knocked out in
the rasp because of him. I'm talking about Patrick Mahomes.

(01:51:53):
Did you see that play where he was a sideline?
Was right? It was run? He does it every game. Well,
he goes out of bounds a lot, but he turned
it up. I forgot to see.

Speaker 1 (01:52:03):
Every single game, man, that's going to be he fakes
his little going out of bounds and picks up four
or five more yards.

Speaker 2 (01:52:09):
I promise you that would stop if I was coaching
the other team, because I said, first one, take the
fifteen yard penalty.

Speaker 1 (01:52:17):
You rock his backside.

Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
I don't care if he's two miles outside of the line,
you take a shot at him, and you say, now,
if you try to pull that crap on us, that's
what you're gonna get. That can't continue because he's starting
a problem there. You know that, don't you.

Speaker 1 (01:52:34):
Well this do you act like this is the first
time this happened. No, But it's because he hit the
guy pretty good. There's got to be a rule for quarterbacks.
If the quarterback is on the field, then he's up
for grabs and you could do what you want.

Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
I don't care if he's running to the sideline or whatever.
You could take him out if you want to. If
he's on the field to play.

Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
Okay, Well, I don't know that it's going to change
anymore than it already has. But it's not anything new.
It's been happening NonStop forever.

Speaker 2 (01:53:02):
Somebody's going to take him out on that, I promise
you sooner or later.

Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Shout out to our guy overnight, Joe, who's making sure
the show rolls on. If us La Dodger Frank has
a question off Twitter, Arnie pressing question. Inquiring minds want
to know do you use a group on special or
two for one for the anniversary dinner.

Speaker 2 (01:53:21):
Well, I'm not doing either one because I'm not taking
my wife out, I guess on Tuesday night for our
thirtieth anniversary.

Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
So, mister nobody, even though I don't think the Rams
are going to be awesome, I'm also inclined to believe
they'll win the West and make a playoff runt.

Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
Since Arnie so down on this, No, they're done, though,
if please, I will, I would bet my job that
Matthew Stafford doesn't start every game this year.

Speaker 1 (01:53:45):
Well, I mean you've already lost your job because you
bet your job that the Colts wouldn't beat the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:53:49):
In No, I didn't bet it on that game. I
did not.

Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
I think we have audio evidence. In fact, I was
going to go dig through it. But oh my god,
when you start listening to our old shows, yeah, dude,
the machine gun rapid fire of hot takes from you
as hilarious sometimes and the one eighty a week later
like I don't know, uh, Colin Wright. No Parsons individually
had a decent game. It was actually the entire Packers

(01:54:13):
defensive unit that had a very solid performance. Using him
in spot situations and more in the second half was
a smart move since they have to play Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
Yeah, they have a game. I'm more convinced than ever
Jerry Jones made the right decision by not giving Michael
Parsons all that money.

Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
By the way, the.

Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Eagles, remember I said I wouldn't I would take two
first rounders and a third rounder. The Eagles offered two
first rounders, a third rounder, and a fifth rounder, but
they didn't want have traded within the division, So I
was right on that you could have gotten another third
rounder for that.

Speaker 1 (01:54:46):
They had to because they knew the Cowboys weren't going
to trade him in the East.

Speaker 2 (01:54:51):
Well, but they still offered a pretty good package.

Speaker 1 (01:54:53):
Right, But they had to because that's the division that
the Dallas Cowboys would Parsons make.

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
Three first routhers and you got a guy. You got it, man,
let's go.

Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
I don't I still don't think you could trade him
to Philadelphia, even for three first rounders and one more
from Matthew writes Arnie already whining about something we tell
him every Sunday, The Dolphins stink. You've been waiting so long, Arnie,
thought you'd be used to it like we are. When
you say all year, all year leading up to the
season that the Dolphins were the best. I mean this

(01:55:26):
what I tell you this every single show I know.

Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
But you know what, though, a couple of years ago
we were good and then two got heard, and I
thought I was a year ahead of time. And right
now we're the worst team in the NFL. Now, we
got to get rid of Tyreek Hill and the and
the chemistry professor and and to it. But nobody would
take two of the guy has a gazillion dollar contract.
Nobody's gonna touch that guy with a with a.

Speaker 1 (01:55:50):
Ten foot Are you kidding me? Have you seen the
quarterbacks of the league right now? Daniel Jones just carved
you guys up, and you'll start having quarterback injuries over
the next few weeks. So I wouldn't say that at all.
I think there would be people chomping at the bit
to try to get to it to be their quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
Not for that, but not for what they're paying them,
though I guess they're not paying much compared to the
last three or four contracts again.

Speaker 1 (01:56:13):
Let's let's go back to this entire offseason where you
told us that they got a great deal on two analogist,
I don't remember saying that. You remember saying half the
things you say.

Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
He's horrible now he's yeah.

That's a late start.

Speaker 1 (01:57:21):
Wow, ten o'clock Eastern next week for the Raiders and
the Chargers can't watch that, eat and nap. Well take
it away, stinking genius. What you got for us on
your picks this week?

Speaker 2 (01:57:30):
All right, let's get to college. I have now twelve
and nine total. I went five and two in the week.
I'm picking it fifty seven percent in college because I
didn't even throw in my seventeen t money line Barroway,
which obviously I could pick at any time there. So
I had to prove a point to you, Chris. You

(01:57:53):
you didn't even congratulate me on that, like it's no
big deal, you know what I mean? Okay, No, what
do you mean? Kay? What does that mean?

Speaker 1 (01:58:02):
I told you that it's easy if you just take
the money lines. Yeah, but you're you didn't even look
at the teams that dude picked in his nineteen teen parley,
and you just went with a bunch of thirty point
favorites and still didn't get to nineteen teams.

Speaker 2 (01:58:17):
All right, let me get this to real quick upset
special number one. Georgia Tech don't want the nine and
a half, don't need the nine and alf I'll take
the nine and a half. They're gonna be Clemson, who
did not look very good against Troy. Watched a lot
of that game. You want upset special number two, you
got it. Tennessee don't want the seven, they'll need the seven.
I'll take the seven. Tennessee gonna beat charge up. Give

(01:58:38):
me Texas Tech minus twenty four and a half against
Oregon State, and I like LSU minus six and a
half against Florida and my Arizona Wildcats. We're going to
beat the pants off Kansas State. Beat them like a drum.
Arizona thirty seven Kansas State sixteen three touchdown victory. Give

(01:59:06):
me Arizona minus the two and a half of that game.
We are going to crush downwn.

Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
NFL the game tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:59:15):
Give me Minnesota minus one and a half at Chicago,
and I'm gonna take Green Bay minus three and a
half on the Monday night game or just be the
Thursday night game against Washington. So there you have my picks,
do them as you please. No longer strictly for entertainment,
purposes only.

Speaker 1 (01:59:32):
Thank you, Thank you much, thank you. Well done, Todd.
By the way, final thought on your Dolphins fire career,
Fire McDaniel, and start the Zach Wilson era. I joke.
I can't believe I'm even saying this, right, Zach.

Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
Wilson, I'm not joking. I'm ready for.

Speaker 1 (01:59:49):
That now, James Wright, jarn you can always play pickleball
instead of watching the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
No, I have to do something with my Sundays.

Speaker 1 (01:59:56):
Now, Doug says, after twenty plus years in one way
relationship with the Jaguars, I put all thirty two.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
Teams in a hat, picked my two new team.

Speaker 1 (02:00:04):
To cheer for. Guess what it was? The Jags again.
I'm good trap buddy. All right, you have a great week.
