Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go sticking you.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Let's go, big boy, let's go. We go Sunday for you. Man,
your Dolphins didn't lose.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
They didn't lose. That's good. That was good news.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
They lost earlier in the week. So what can you do.
It's over. We know it's over for my dog. All
my teams are falling apart, My Mets are self destructing,
my Dolphins already have lost out for the season.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Only the only hope I know.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
I mean, if I wasn't one hundred percent sure my
Wildcats we're gonna win the Big Twelve championship in football
and basketball, I'd have absolutely nothing to look forward to.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Oh and then and the next two I forgot about them,
So I mean, you're already putting it. Oh and three.
I thought you were going to get a new coach
in there and take over the world.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
You know, I've heard people refer to the uh to
McDaniel as the chemistry you have professor. Now everybody's taking
over my little stick i'd tutor. Yeah, everybody's calling him
the chemistry professor. Yeah, they're gonna go ahead and get
somebody new. I'm hopefully hope you would be John Gruden
or you know, Nick Saban or somebody exciting.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I don't. I can't have somebody who I him anymore.
I can't do it anymore. What's uh? I mean? You
guys were tight. You're in the game.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
I think it was closer than anyone could have imagined,
especially with the way that it starts.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Want to throw by my homes.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
Yeah, I'm not in the moral victories, Chris, I know
you're into that.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
You and I Hell yeah yeah? What what what mind?
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Do you not accept moral victories with how terrible your
teams have been over the last twenty years?
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah? I got I got to see the W out there.
I need the W.
Speaker 4 (01:30):
That's why I'm the sports is killing me. It puts
me in such a bad mood. Like I said, if
I if I wasn't sure my Wildcats.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
We're gonna win? Caught that? What do you think? Wait?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
By the way, have you seen Texas Tech play? Have
you even seen Utah play? Have you watched.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
I actually watched the Texas Tech Utah game, so Utah
might as well. Just sir, we don't play Utah, so
it doesn't make a difference. And we don't play Texas
Tech either, So we missed out on those two.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Did they call that an incomplete pass? Yes, they did,
big break. Now, this game is disgusting. That's why we
haven't mentioned it yet. That's why we allow Arnie to
talk about whatever he wants to talk about, because it's
really his show.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And I'm just here to make sure we hit breaks exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
The Chiefs looked like they were going to have it
first in goal with the one if not a touchdown catch,
but it was ruled an incomplete pass and with six
point fifty one to go in the game. Well, now
they just put five seconds back on the clock. With
six point fifty five to go in the game, Kansas
City has a third and ten at the New York
thirty five yard line, up sixteen.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Tonight is gross a good way to describe this game tonight.
You know it has.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
And I got to say, if the Chiefs are playing
like this against any real team or any team that's
a B or B plus team, they'd be losing by
two touchdowns right now. Giants should be leading this game
where you know it could be tied. Just it has
been sloppy, it's been awful. It's just been horrible to
be up well.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
And then, of course, one play later, Taekwon Thornton makes
the catch on a ball right at the goal line.
So on third and nine they hit a massively big
play and it looks like Kansas City's about to ice
this thing.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
It's not even a real though, don't even say a
big play. They're just they're doing Okay, everybody go out
and turn around. Well, nothing's are doing it. Yeah, that's
what he's doing it. It's always doing It's not a
player or anything like that. He's just throwing it up
and if he can catch it, then he catches it.
If he does it, he doesn't, that's all.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Well, Thornton's got five catches for seventy one yards and
oh there you go, touchdown Kansas City. It is now
twenty two to nine with the extra point pinning. That
should just about do it. Question that lingers from this one.
Why won't New York just make the switch. I'm not
a big fan of the small like many packages you
(03:48):
have for a quarterback, especially with the odd timing of
when they've used Jackson Dart. But they're about to fold
to zero to three, and it's not like Russell's beIN Terry.
He was okay, getst the Cowboys. But still you're not
going anywhere. You're not going anywhere. You play Jackson Dart.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
You don't do it just yet. For the only reason.
I'll go to give you a couple of reasons. One,
you don't break up with your boyfriend or your girlfriend
the day after Valentine's Day. You let it go a
little bit like a week or two. Russell Wilson is
just coming off a big day last week. You didn't
say you didn't play all that great.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
What do you have? Four nun and fifty yards? So
you can't just bench him right away. You got to
give it. Win the game.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
No, he didn't win the game, but he should have
won the game. His fault he doesn't play defense.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh and three man owing three? He's owing three? Well,
when did they play the Saints? When's the same game
coming up?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
Is that's what I probably I make the move to
make sure that he has a nice and easy game
and you know, something to build on, and you know,
feels good about himself. So whatever the Saints game is,
maybe I make the switch.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Then I don't know how many games five week five?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Yeah, so they got the Chargers next week, and then
they have the Saints after.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Okay, there you go one more week and then then
you make the move that that's what you do.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
You don't try to, I don't know, maybe win a
game before then you just go ahead and tap out
on the Chargers game next week.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Well, let's be honest.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
You say that these guys are the most brilliant minds
in all of football.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
That's true. If that's true, are just sitting at home
going We're not winning anyway, so what difference doesn't make?
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Right?
Speaker 2 (05:19):
We'll try to win.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
But a A it had that you're talking to your
wife at the at the dinner table.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Going throwing way too many analogies in involving boyfriends and
girlfriends and wife so far you've had too much free
time today.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, way too much.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
But you know, you play this, You play the player
that gives you the best chance to win. If the
Giants feel like it's still Russell Wilson, so be it.
I just don't know if that's gonna be enough for him.
Right now, you're owing three. I mean, how rare is
it to end up being a playoff team when you
start two?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
I think it is. I think it's like two or
three percent.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
It's it's never happened since they expanded the format since
the year two thousand or a team that started off
falling three has got into the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
I heard about five times today. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
I don't know if I had the Cowboys Radio network
on or what I was listening to. You know, the
Cowboys started knowing too and went to the Super Bowl.
There was that story that they kept talking about for
something that the Smith year. Yeah, the year he held out, remember,
and I broke that story too. Okay, Well, but he's
not being serious. That's one hundred percent true. I'm being
(06:22):
serious about it. You you somebody that it just kind of
spews hot takes and gets what you said the day
after you said it.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yes, broke the Emmitt Smith story whenever he signed with the.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
I was on in Phoenix, Arizona, Okay, and one of
my whisteners called me up right on the line and
explained to me that Emmitt Smith is he saw him
getting on this private plane and that he's getting it.
Thought he's signing and he's going to Dallas, right. So
I called up at the time. You know, who's the
biggest sports talk person at the time. Back then we're
(06:54):
in Dallas or just no, just overall and nationally.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Uh, the Fabulous Sports Oh you're good.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
I called the Fabulous sports fave and she put me
on the air and I told her what I knew
and it turned out to be true.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
So that's it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Well but then again that's also you see, I like
how you haven't changed. It was some random caller thirty
years ago. Yes, and it can be some random Twitter
user that says something now and you're gonna fall for it.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
But it convinced me though on the phone, I didn't
know who it was, but I'm like, Okay, it sound convincing.
I'm going to go with that. I'm going with it.
You know, was this the weirdest special team's day we've
ever had? In the air?
Speaker 4 (07:31):
You believe that all the non offensive touchdowns there was
absolutely glorious.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
I love stuff like that. That was great.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
I Mean, the thing that blew my mind was not
only it happened a lot, but it happened almost all
at the same time. Because you had the Eagles block, which,
by the way, they just it sealed the game and
then they ended up covering because Jordan Davis took it back.
Then you had the Jets block that went for six,
which nearly won their game again one again.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Yeah, yeah, what do you mean should have they took
the lead? Right? They had a one point lead at that.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
Right with two minutes ago against Baker Mayfield. You see
this guy in the clubs, I mean like I should
have won it. I'm like, well, yeah, they left a
lot of time on the clock there. They had no business,
camp had no business letting them be in the game
at the.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Right exactly exactly, but it was it was pure in sanity.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
You had you had a blocked extra point in this
Chiefs Giants game. I was watching the Raiders Washington game
because I like paying Washington had a kick that they're
opening kickoff the nearly took to the house and then
they did return a punt for a touchdown later in
the game. So I know you don't like to talk
about anything but quarterbacks and receivers and running backs, but
holy smokes man, special teams made a big difference in
(08:46):
just about every game today.
Speaker 4 (08:47):
Oh there was an interception return, scooping fumble and scooping
up in return, and all kinds of ways to score touchdowns.
I love stuff like that. I know I did. It
was a great day.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
And what did I It was like seven games were
or within one score in the last couple of minutes
or something. It was. It was crazy. It was a
very good week. It was a fun week for NFL football,
and it was a good week.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Whenever, that early session wasn't as far as like adept
of games, because again the NFL and the balance of
its schedule still blows my mind, like here's nine games
in the early session and here's two in at three
o'clock window. But you didn't really have a lot of
games that were overly tight heading down. I mean, the
Vikings were destroying the Bengals close games, right, but those
(09:33):
four close games were all amazing. I did not have
the Panthers shutting out the Falcons on my being go
card today. But in that witching Hour, you had that
crazy finish between the Bucks and the Jets. Bucks ended
up winning it. You had the Eagles come from behind,
went over the Rams. I'm still trying to figure out
everything that went wrong and right during that Steelers Patriots game.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
Right way Patriots were fumbling left and right, it turning
the ball over. It was great.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
I had red Zone on today and I was watching
the Raiders game on a separate screen. Shout out Shady
Sean for twenty every single time they went to the
Patriots game, or the Patriots or Steelers, they were the
fumbling the ball or throwing an interception. You expected to
look the box score and see eighty turnovers in that game.
But Arnie, it's weird because you left out one to
(10:20):
one score game that we need to talk about here
from that morning session. Because you said four and I'm
assuming you were talking about Jaguars Texans.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
How can you leave out the Browns come behind.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Went over the Packers, the bounds whom you had going
to the super Bowl, and many of us did after
Week two get just waylaid by the Browns late today,
that was unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Who would have thought.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
I wonder what the projection the odds were that they
were going to lose that game when they were down
ten to nothing into the fourth quarter. That was a
rally that was unbelievable. That they got the victory against
the Packers. That was I mean just being their defense
just came. I read them throughout the game, didn't let
the Packers do anything and just kept them.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Around, kept them around, and they pulled it out in
the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Do you, as a fan of the always unnecessary win probability,
do you want to know one when the green Bay
Packers had it third and goal at the twenty, they
got they had the it was third and goal for
the Browns. Excuse me at the green Bay twenty because
(11:27):
they had the penalty. There was a ninety three point
two percent chance that the Packers were going to win
the game. And that was with by the way, three
point fifty six to go in the game.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Unbelievable, was nothing? Right?
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Yeah, ten ze at that point too, there were in
this game five I've never seen a quarterback run for
his life as much as Jordan Love was forced to.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Yeah, well, you know, I take that back.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
I watched the Oklahoma Sooners just absolutely just Ronald Jackson
Arnold yesterday and he got sacked ten times, make it
nine now, but you get that in this game, Green
Bay was sacked five times. And Arnie your super Bowl
pick the week after you told me they're going to
Super Bowl, and then the best team in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Best team in the number one on the Arnie Fake
Power Rankings. Fourteen penalties.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
There were twenty two combined penalties in this game, and
fourteen of them were against the Green Bay Pack.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
I think there was a memo out because there was
a lot of penalties and a lot of different games,
weren't there.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
I have to go look it up. Oh yeah, I
mean that.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Hold on, let me look real quick because I'm trying
to scroll here quickly. I mean there was that's Packers
game was insane, right, but there were not of penalties.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It happened.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
There was about two or three games that easily were.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Each team had about like five or six.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
The Buccaneers were whistled for fourteen penalties. Yeah, for one
hundred and twenty four yards.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
That's amazing, amazing, And there must be a memo out
that said, we're going it tight this week, guys, let's go.
Let's let's get on this. Now.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
What do you always say your player of the game
with the guy wearing number like fifty seven or something.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Like that, number one twelve or something, right, number one twelve.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Hey, don't look now, but the Giants are driving. They
have the ball first in goal with about three minutes
to go in the game, and they'll throw it away here.
So three ten to go twenty two to nine. The
Chiefs lead the Giants New York trying to get a
touchdown here and push it to a one score game
before we grab our opening time out and really start
diving into the nuts and bolts of Week three of
(13:30):
the NFL season.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
So both my teams are going to be oh on three, Chris.
I just want you to know that you're giving up
on the Giants already. They're still live in this.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
You know you can't make the playoffs if you don't
win a game. I don't know if you know that
it's very hard to make the playoffs that way.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
You haven't mentioned any of the games from the evening
session yet or the early evening afternoon session, depending on
what time zone you're in, right, and I'm waiting for it. Yeah,
you can apologize to me at any point you want.
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Ah, why did the Raiders win? Did I miss something?
Speaker 6 (14:00):
No?
Speaker 2 (14:00):
God, No, Caleb Williams the best game ever.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
For the first time in my wife, I finally said wow.
I finally said wow, this guy. This guy's putting up
some good numbers out there. But again, again, he was
playing the Cowboys, but he was still putting up good numbers.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
You know what.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
The Cowboys defense, everyone can make their Michael Parsons jokes.
Holy smokes man, that is just h and again, I
love Caleb, but he threw for two ninety eight four scores.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Wasn't sacked.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
I mean, everybody at least gets one courtesy sack against
the Chicago Bears right with their offensive line, and he
got sacked because they're that that bad.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
And he got confident in charge. You know what, you
got control of the team.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Just had everything going today.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Everything that we thought he was going to be when
he came into the league he had today. That's for
the first time he looked like the number one overall
pick should look like.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
And then on the other side of that, the Cowboys,
they just I don't know what's going on there.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Man. I'm glad you picked them before the season started,
though I thought they're gonna well again you and Harvey,
I don't know. Harmy Game's saying he loves to come.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Pre Michael Parsons stray, pre Michael Parsons tray. That makes
a major difference with this team.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
If he was there.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
I'm not saying that they'd be three and oh right now,
But I don't think they're going to be giving up
thirty when they end up giving to the Bears thirty
one of the Chicago Bears. And I thought, I thought
mac Jones looked pretty good down the stretch. That he
was gross for a majority of the game, but down
the stretch he was pretty good to help the San
Francisco forty nine ers come back. And when he's going
to that last drive, and every single Niners fan that
(15:35):
was questioning brock perty now can't wait to get him back.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
But don't look now, but the Niners are three and out.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Niners are three and oh but that's a the worst
three and ozer team in football?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
How about that? This?
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Does that make sense? I just still don't have confidence
in them. They pulled it out, shouldn't even have won
this game. Did you see the safe.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
But their backup quarterback though, Yeah, well, you know what
the backup quarterback is? Is that far.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Removed from the starting quarterback? Was it like they were,
you know, eating it up in the first two games.
You know, McCaffrey held a second that might have been
the dumbest thing you've ever said. The backup quarterback for
the Niners, isn't that far removed? From their starting quarter you.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Played well, took them to the Super Bowl, and took
them to an NFC championships.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
Jones, is all you talking about is.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
First of all, I'm not talking about the last couple
of years. The shows today too.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
There's history and there's perspective to it. You're telling me
that Mac Jones isn't that far off from rock Birdy today.
He put up good numbers. Was was brock perty gonna
put up any better numbers than Mac Jones put up today? Yeah?
Probably so. I thought Mac was terrible until the end
of the game. But you do, you boo.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
And if you're saying they're the worst three and oh
team in football, then that means the team that you
told us all that was the worst team in the
NFL heading into the season at three and oh is
not the worst three and o team.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
But I get to get some credit with that. I
didn't tell you, Daniel Jones is no, you know you lost.
Don't get anywhere I get When you said they were
going to go one in fifteen, I think are one
one and sixteen.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Yeah, whatever you projected on that, Mac. You try to
say a backup quarterback, isn't that close to a starting quarterback.
It's gotta be the funniest thing you've said. You're ly
rooting for Zach Wilson to get in the game, is
what I think is happening. There is the big the
biggest difference in sports is the difference between the starting
quarterback and the backup quarterback.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
He went out today, he wasn't. I thought mac Jones
played well. I don't know why you're ripping on him.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Look, he was the reason they pulled it out. I
don't know why you're because McCaffrey didn't have that big
of a game rush than the balls him and like
sa Quon Barkley, they're off the horrible starts this year.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
Did you watch that game or did you just catch
the No? I did what I did. Well, you guys
got that in the northeast.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Yeah, well it was only like three guys the Bears
Dallas game, But I had the red zone channel onto.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
All right, we'll get a break when we come back

Speaker 3 (18:48):
I was trying to find a good storyline for oh
to three teams that still made the playoffs and had
to run.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
But there's a lot of owners. There's like four oh
and three teams in the AFC. I believe Kansas City,
had they lost, would have been.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Like the fifteen Kansas City's gonna win, Yeah one twenty
two to nine. Though they did do something really stupid.
I mean, for a championship caliber team, they did something
really stupid. They after holding the Giants, Giants had the football,
it was twenty two to nine, a little over two
(19:20):
minutes left, and they have it in the red zone
at the five, and Kansas City forces him at four
four and out if you will, and in case, he
gets the ball back and just starts throwing bombs. I mean,
it's like run the clockout, dudes. You got plenty of
time here. I know there was a few timeouts the
Giants used, but now New York has a fourth and six.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
This is their last gasp, and.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
I'm sure Russell Wilson's gonna get Oh he avoids a
sack that was amazing, but they eventually get him. That'll
be the ball game. So your Giants and your Dolphins
a combined zero to six this year.
Speaker 4 (19:51):
I have nothing left to go. I don't I don't
even have to go to the games. Now, I could
just say, forget about it.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
You weren't gonna go anyway. I was gonna go this year.
I wasn't gonna go ahead and go, you're gonna I'm
making the move in two weeks down the Connecticut so'll congratulations.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
I'll be waiting for my wife to set up my
little office. And you know you get like a seventy
five inch screen TV for like five hundred dollars.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Really yeah, okay, Costco or something. That's awesome. Congratulations. So
I'm just I'm making my wife set up my office,
and then I'm making your wife set up your office.
I'm busy up here, man.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
You're not doing anything. You're playing rec league basketball and
doing radio shows at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yeah, but I can't go down there and set it up,
and from up here, I can't do everything. It's hilarious. Well,
that's right, you are a trophy husband.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
So that's the key to nine different plays that were
touchdowns from either offense or special teams today.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Nine. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
You had the thirty two yard interception return for Kenney
Moore against the Titans. By the way, we do have
to have a conversation about where the Titans are going
right now for those terrible colds Shaw Smith Wade had
the interception return for the touchdown against at Land and
the Falcons got shut out and the Panthers looked really good.
Jamel Davis had a fifty five yard interception return for
(21:11):
a touchdown against the Jets. You had Jalen Lane's ninety
yard punt return against the Raiders, or the Raiders had a.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Penalty, You had a twenty.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
You had a ninety five yard punt return by the
Saints by Tory Horton for a touchdownard someone say that
was the first Saints Seahawks punt return for a touchdown,
because since like ten years ago, Wow, can that possibly
be right? Then you had the Isaiah Rodgers pick six,
eighty seven yard pick six of Jake Browning. Then he
(21:42):
had a sixty six yard fumble return for a touchdown
and one of the coolest plays I've ever seen. Then
in special teams, you had Will McDonald blocked the field
Bowl field goal in the Jets Bucks game. The Jet
player took it to the house, and then Jordan Davis
had the blocked field goal that he returned for a touchdown.
That's fear insanity, You know what all the defense is
special teams With all the scoring that.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
You bring up, I was quickly doing the math go
ahead to see how many of the games went over
and I think maybe just maybe like one game over
five hundred the way you were talking, I'm like, maybe, wow,
it must have been like every game went over, you know,
it was just it was crazy. But there was a
lot of under games also, so maybe eight and seven
or something like that, something to that effect. As far
(22:22):
as the overs over, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did we have
some high over numbers today?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Then no, But you had Cardinals forty nine Ers sixteen
fifteen type game.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
You know, even but we didn't even mention that game. Yeah,
in that in that round.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
I mean, you're you're talking about I'm just gonna go
out on a limb and I'm going to assume that
the Vikings game went over today. It gets the Bengals
forty eight to ten. How old are that? I'm going
to assume that the Colts went over today against the
Titans forty one to twenty. Now Brown's Packers definitely, regardless
of how ugly, that had to be an under, right.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Right heart to Pittsburgh and the Patriots, that had to
be an under and then you had to slid like
Panthers Falcons. I can't believe that the Falcons got shut
out today. Texans Jaguars went under. I think Broncos Patriots.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Might have went under. All. So Cowboys Bears, I think
went under Broncos Chargers. Broncos Chargers. Broncos Bears are the
Cowboys Bears. I think that one under end Cardinals forty
nine ers one another.
Speaker 3 (23:18):
Well, speaking of Broncos Chargers, the man who was front
and center comes rolling into the Fox Sports radio studios
because it is time to get caught up on everything
in the National Football League today with our guy Steve
de Sager, who makes it a point to be here
just for us tonight. What's go Chargers, Let's go? How
about our Chargers?
Speaker 8 (23:37):
To Sager, there's a kiss of death. By the way,
it goes as far as the phrase front and center,
that only exists for the television booth at that stadium.
Everybody else is way at the Corners press box, everybody
else because of course they can sell suites between each
goal line, so of course Tom Brady gets to send
at or whoever at midfield. Everybody else forget it. By
(23:58):
the way, as you were talking about Theawks, that is true.
It's been a decade since Tyler Lockett ran one back.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
I can't believe it had been that long since Lockett.
Speaker 8 (24:06):
These things do happen. I mean the Chargers, for example,
have not recovered their own on side kick in over
a decade.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
It's just very strange.
Speaker 8 (24:16):
The Chargers have not started three and oh since Drew
Brees about twenty years ago. And they're three and oh
after beating Denver today. By the way, that punt return
you were talking about with Seattle ninety five yards longest
in their franchise history. So yeah, not a good game
with the Chiefs winning at the Giants tonight twenty two nine.
But the games during the day, my goodness, seven games
(24:40):
today where the game winning score came in the last
three minutes, So woild That ties an NFL record, ties
for the most in a single NFL week since nineteen seventy.
It had happened most recently three years ago. Kansas City's
win was twenty two nine at the Giants, who are
zero and three. The Giants will be hosting the Chargers
next weekend. And I will say the rookie running back
(25:03):
from Arizona stay Cam Scattabo. He got his time. Scataboo,
ten carries, sixty yards and a touchdown is ti He's physical? Yeah,
absolutely like looks for contact. Tyrone Tracy left with a
shoulder injury Russell Wilson through two interceptions, Harrison Bucker and
the Chiefs kicked three field goals in the first half
(25:23):
twenty to nine. The final as for the Chargers three
and zero record after edging Denver with a late comeback
twenty three to twenty on a field goal on the
final play. Denver had started the day three and out
on their first three drives in the first quarter. The
Denver Broncos had thirty three yards in penalties and only
thirteen yards of offense no first downs in the first quarter.
(25:44):
They held the ball for less than five minutes. The
game had a stretch there early where there was a
punt on five straight drives total, but eventually it was
about Chargers one hundred and forty yards to forty advantage
as they took the lead. Chargers were up ten to
nothing with a minute left left in the first half,
and then Denver scored seventeen minutes seventeen points in under
(26:05):
four minutes mid game, and it was a nail bier
the rest of the way. And it was so loud
down the stretch man win or lose. What a great
atmosphere it was today. Chargers go to three and oh
field goal on the final play. Niners go to three
and oh field goal on the final play, beating Arizona
sixteen to fifteen. While the Chargers had an injury with
(26:25):
backup running back Najie Harris apparent torn Achilles, Cardinals running
back James Conner is out for the year with a
severe ankle injury. Chicago beat Dallas thirty one fourteen. Dallas
wide receiver Cede Lamb left with an ankle injury. He
seems to think it's not a big deal. Caleb Williams
four touchdown passes. New Orleans is zero to three after
losing forty four to thirteen at Seattle. Seahawks lead was
(26:49):
thirty eight three before halftime, and yeah, Philadelphia is still undefeated.
The defending Super Bowl champs were down to the Rams.
This is at home in Philly twenty six to seven
in the third quarter. That was great, thirty three to
twenty six Eagles. The final. Cleveland with the Lake comeback
thirteen to ten over Green Bay on a fifty five
yard field goal as time expired. Tampa Bay three and
(27:11):
oh after edging the Jets twenty nine twenty seven on
a field goal on the final play, wins for Jacksonville
and Pittsburgh wins for Minnesota and Washington, which beat Las
Vegas forty one to twenty four. The Raiders are averaging
three yards of carry in their first three games.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
Down near the bottom, Let's go Raiders.
Speaker 8 (27:29):
They're tied for second most sacks allowed so far as well,
and they lost badly to a team that did not
have quarterback Jaden Daniels out with the spring knee. It
was Indianapolis three and oh winning at Tennessee forty one
to twenty, and Carolina, in its first two games had
never led. They won thirty to nothing over Atlanta in
this game today Monday night, Detroit at Baltimore. The University
(27:51):
of Miami is up to number two in the New
eight people behind number one Ohio State. Ryan Blaney won
the NASCAR Race at New Hampshire. WNBA Semifinal Open went
to Indiana and Minnesota to baseball. Seattle won tonight seven
to three at Houston. Cal Raley is fifty eighth homer.
Quite a weekend for the Mariners, now three games up
over the Strows for first in the AL West, and
(28:12):
the regular season ends next Sunday. Toronto won and clinched
a playoff spot. There first in the AL East, still
two games up on the Yankees, who won in ten innings.
Detroit lost at sixth in a row. Cleveland finally lost
a game. The Mets dropped a home game three two
to Washington, and the Reds now owned the last NL
wild card because they have the tiebreaker over the Mets.
(28:33):
Cincinnati won its fifth straight game, won nothing over the
slumping Cubs. Milwaukee loss, but the Brewers did clinch the
NL Central title. It's a seven game lead over the
Cubs with this one week left Arizona and San Francisco
with win San Diego as well.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
Back to you, unreal, unreal. I was wondering yesterday. My
buddy Toby rolling the Voice the Sooners is a big
Reds fan, and I have completely checked out on baseball.
I could not tell you anything that's going on. That's
my update. I just got there from the Sega. Probably
not an admission I should make, but listen, I live, eat, sleep,
and breathe college football.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
You know, you know it's so funny.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
He was watching the Reds game after a whole on
just said, one's real quick here on, let me finish this.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
They swept the Cubs four.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
This weekend, he was watching the Reds game during the
postgame show, and I was like, why in the world
are you watching the Reds game during the postgame show
after we just won the biggest SEC game maybe at
home in a long time.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
It's like, oh, okay, there they are right.
Speaker 8 (29:25):
It might actually be going to the I mean, with
the last spot in the postseason, they might actually be
going to the playoffs. And this final week the Reds
are hosting a Pittsburgh team that's frankly not good for
three and.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Then they go to Milwaukee, and then they go to.
Speaker 8 (29:39):
Milwaukee and we'll see if Milwaukee has anything to play
for it.
Speaker 4 (29:42):
Right, And then of course the Mets place Chicago, who's
lost four in a row. Of course to them to
the Reds, they just rolled over so they could beat us.
The Mets still have a fifty one percent chance. Ago
but I was watching the Reds game two on the
other TV just to check it up a they were
going to reign the way for a little bit, and
my Mets were losing.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
It was killing me. Baseball is just destroying me.
Speaker 8 (30:05):
And why we mentioned these tiebreakers. There is no one
game playoff in baseball anymore. It's been since twenty twenty two.
All the playoff tiebreakers determined mathematically, So a tie for
division titler who gets into the postseason at all, or
for seeding, it comes down first to your head to
head record between those teams during the year.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Right, Mets lose out to the Reds they lost four.
Speaker 8 (30:26):
And Mets lose out to the Padres they got swept
in San Diego with late July.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
Yeah, thank you for this, and.
Speaker 8 (30:32):
It was a great weekend for Seattle because they won
the tiebreaker over Houston with this great road series this
weekend and now up three in the standings.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
Now, if you want to have a conversation about what's
going on in the Sun Belt right now and the
battle's out in the Big ten, I'm your guy wildcard Chason.
Speaker 8 (30:46):
Are you going to not necessarily now, but I must
ask in advance, are you going to mention the controversial
first half Oklahoma touchdown yesterday?
Speaker 2 (30:55):
I was going to bring out even the fake substitution. Yes,
wasn't a fake substitution? Shame on you?
Speaker 8 (31:01):
After the game, sure spoke like it was, and I said,
did I miss something? And I went back and looked
at it.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
It was apologize to everybody, Chris playing apology.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (31:10):
He pointed at the referee. The referee acknowledged him that
he was on the field. I mean, that's not your
in the game. I ain't apologize him for for anything
on that.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Do you know what?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
They tried to run it on their own defense in practice?
Guess what their own defense did. Sniffed it out, shut
it down. Be better, Hugh Freeze, be better defense. A
bunch of cry babies.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Do you know you almost cast yourself a chance at
winning the game at the end, not with then no,
because didn't they get didn't you get two points? Didn't
you get a sack a safety?
Speaker 4 (31:46):
If you don't get the safety, if you tackle him
at the one yard line, you win the game.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
The fact that they got.
Speaker 8 (31:50):
The safety and they didn't kick off.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
They kicked off and they did the on side kick.
Speaker 8 (31:54):
And sidekick on a free kick.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
It was an onside uh drop kick, which didn't even
one of the worst thing I've ever seen.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
Right, but they had to do something. But it still
gave him a chance to get the ball back and
wincause otherwise, if you tackle him in bowns, you automatically.
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Win the game.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
I mean literally, he was standing in the end zone
and he ran over to the offensive tackles and destroyed
the guy.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
I don't know if bar Mason Thomas could be like,
came here, camirat Jackson, you walk down the one line.
Speaker 8 (32:23):
Their ten sacks school record.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
No, No, they had, I guess mistakenly on the Marvin
Marvin Jones Junior had a sack earlier in the game
that was a flag flew because of a horse collar,
and they had credited him as sack.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
But because the penalley, it was.
Speaker 8 (32:41):
So so a mere nine in the game, just nine.
Speaker 3 (32:43):
I mean they listen, they got to be better. You
can't have just nine sacks in a game. You gotta
have ten.
Speaker 8 (32:48):
This is unexcept by the way, Oklahoma is up to
number seven in the country in ap We should.
Speaker 4 (32:52):
Have the Chris Plank apology as our you know, promo
for the show.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
Okay, well, hey, sorry, you didn't know how to a
guy who was standing right there that an official acknowledge
that he was a hot receiver. I mean, I don't
know how else to put this. He and I was
I'm shocked that I guess it's happened so many to
ole Miss ran this like two years ago. Auburn's done
this to Alabama in the past, and I guess maybe
because it's happened so many times, the SEC felt like, well,
(33:19):
I guess we gotta say something. But it was also
in the second quarter of the game, right and oh yeah,
by the way, Auburn also had the lead in Oklahoma
had to come back and win it.
Speaker 4 (33:28):
So he was so mad. I have to give a figure.
Oh he must have known something, right he was.
Speaker 8 (33:33):
It just surprised me. The conference came out the next I.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Was shocked by that too.
Speaker 8 (33:37):
Not gonna lie and said this should have been a penalty.
This should not have been a touchdown. He was not
an eligible receiver. He was faking out the opponent. That's
against the rules. I mean they went on and on.
Speaker 2 (33:47):
Yeah, they all.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
Trick in baseball, Yeah exactly, But I which I will
say this the funniest part of all of it is
if you want to grinch about that play, fine, completely
understand it.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
If it happened to me, I would. But that was worst.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Officiating game I've ever seen in my life. And the
officials were so nice before the game. Because I always
try to make it a point to introduce myself and
sometimes it's usually yeah, great, this guy is like, it's
really nice to meet you, man, So what do you do?
What do you I'm like, the schooner's coming on the field, man,
I'm the radio guy. We got to get to midfield
or we're gonna get run over. He's like, that's great, man,
that's great.
Speaker 8 (34:19):
Let's let's go.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
You know, we're walking out for the coin tolls. And
I was like, I'm really going to root for these
guys today. And they couldn't have been more awful. So
just to really for the SEC to have that bad
of officiating, I mean, from top to bottom was just
really gross. But hey, we'll take it. Four and oh's
four and oh And I'll tell you what. Next week
is my favorite week of the season, Arnie.
Speaker 2 (34:38):
But the game begins Ken State? Is that what you're
forward to? Bye week? Bye week? Week off?
Speaker 8 (34:44):
And then the Kent State bye and then undefeated get into.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Texas and they get to Texas to take on the
Long Runs, who apparently now have the swaggiest quarterback on
the planet since Arch Manning was able to talk some
gas when he trucks some I don't know part time
waiter in the end zone.
Speaker 8 (34:58):
For a touchdown the windless bear Cats.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Unbelievable. All right, we got to take a break, Arnie.
When we come back, let's hit some of these tweets
that we get to. It's the best way to get
in touch with the program. On a Sunday night. What
your thoughts were from Week three of the NFL at
Stinking Genius one. I'm at Plank Show, and everybody go
follow us at Fox Sports Radio. It's Arnie and Plank
on a Fox Sports Sunday.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
You'll be looking back as we come to you live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios here on a Fox
Sports Sunday. I've been looking back on teams that start
three and oh, and you start three and oh, you're
in really good shape to make the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Something is that? What it is?
Speaker 3 (35:52):
I haven't had We haven't had a ton of teams
that actually have started three and oh in the last
five seasons. It hasn't been a massive number of teams.
But I was just going back trying to find three
and oh teams that stunk, you know, that ended up
not making the playoffs. It's you gotta dig I mean,
(36:13):
you really got to go. Like the nineteen seventy eight
Washington Redskins. I think one of the great example, the
twenty and sixteen Ravens.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
Started to you know, the only three and old team
that might not make the playoffs will be the calls.
You're just gonna keep trying, aren't you. You just gotta
keep trying. Let's see, do you know Jonathan Taylor looks
like he's a reborn? Does he not? Or what he just?
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (36:38):
They looked unbelievable, unbelievable, And if you think about it, you.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
You start three and oh again. You're in a great shape.
Speaker 3 (36:47):
Since two thousand and two, eighty two of the one
hundred and eleven teams to begin with three straight victories
have advanced in the playoffs. That's a success rate of
nearly seven four percent, and I guess it rose it
will continue to rise higher. In the fourteen team playoff bracket.
(37:09):
That seems like a lot of teams though since O two,
one hundred and eleven teams started the years with three
straight victories. That's a lot, isn't That is a lot.
That's twenty two years. So you go twenty two, you
carry the well, you average like four teams a year
starting three to oh. Is my math even close to
(37:30):
being right on that?
Speaker 2 (37:31):
If it goes it's O two.
Speaker 8 (37:33):
But we have six teams at three and oh right now.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
That's true. That's true. You got six right now and
I think you have four last year.
Speaker 8 (37:41):
So what you're talking about is since they readid the
divisions over twenty years ago, just in these five seasons
where they've given a seven seed to each conference. Also,
if you just start two and oh, it's seventy eight
percent make the playoffs after the two and oh start
in recently.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
Wow, that's great.
Speaker 4 (37:56):
I'll give you a good stat I don't know if
it's true, but I thought you could prove me wrong.
After three weeks a team has never been minus thirty
three points and been in first place.
Speaker 2 (38:06):
That's exactly what the Cincinnati Begels are in. They're just
they're just gonna fall like a rock man. They're dunsky
they man, I'm telling you they're gonna be done.
Speaker 3 (38:18):
Yes, they lost their starting quarterback. I mean, what do
you expect. You don't have Joe Burrow there. But again,
there's not that much difference between It started in a back.
Oh are you gonna fill that back in my face?
I mean, I'm just watching that to be like, what
in the world are you talking about last year?
Speaker 8 (38:32):
Here?
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Here were the teams who went three and oh last year,
the Bills, the Chiefs. Things worked out okay for them,
The Vikings, it worked out okay for them.
Speaker 2 (38:42):
The Steelers started three and I forgot about that last year. Yeah,
there you go.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
The Seahawks started three and oh last year, and they
didn't necessarily work out great for the Seahawks last year
in twenty twenty four. But I'm you know, they're one
of the few teams that when you look at being
three and oh, you don't end up making the playoffs.
Is just it's rare, man, So you gotta feel really
good if you're sitting there today and you are the Chargers,
the Colts, the Bills, Philadelphia's three and oh, Tampa's three
(39:10):
and oh, and the other three and oh.
Speaker 4 (39:12):
Pump the breaks on, Ze Francisco. I don't don't put
them in the playoffs just yet.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Well, I mean the statistically. Yeah, they're in good show.
So tell me about math. Okay, because they got three
teams on that. I try to ask you math questions
all two and one other heels, So you know, pump
the breaks on the forty nine ers.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I just mentioned that they're three and oh, I'm not
trying to tell you they're going anywhere.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
You're the guy that told me that Superman at quarterback?
Right now? What do I know to the tweets?
Speaker 9 (39:38):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Tonight there was a baseball tweet here that kind of
threw me off, and I don't know what to do
with it. But John Wrights, a combination of Brewers wins
and Philly's losses that equals three would give the Brewers
the number one overall seat in the Major League Baseball postseason,
and once that occurs, highly likely Brewers manager Pat Murphy
will play the B team like he did.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
Which which the Reds wrap up the season again. So
what he's trying to say is that the REDSWB threes
he games.
Speaker 3 (40:06):
Are gonna go, mister nobody. The one place Arnie is
right is that the Dolphins aren't good. They pretty much
mistake themselves out of the game against Buffalo. But if
Arnie decides to try to gamble his wife's money, someone
should stage an intervention.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Wow, wow, I really gamble real month Dolphins.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
And then Josh writes, Hey, give Arnie his credit. He
did predict Miami during the preseason, and we all jumped
on him saying it's just the preseason. Who looked towards today?
The Bengals are the Falcons, and I think the Colts
might be good enough to make it to the AFC
title game. Himself man feeling himself. All right, we're just
getting started on the tweets of the show tonight. Hit
(40:46):
us up with your reaction to Week three of the
NFL and guess what Todd Furman is coming up in
our number two.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
It's a busy Sunday night.
Speaker 3 (40:53):
With Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio, rolling into
hour two, looking back on Week three the National Football
League with Arny Spaniard, I'm Chris Blank. Reminder, it isn't
just a game, It's a once in a generation event.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
I mean there was some let's have a make good
on that one later on in the show. Who did
you say? I said, we'll do a make good on that?
You said, Mark? Who's I call you? Mark? By the way,
I'm having a big dinner Wednesday with his host at
from Fox Sports Radio. Oh yeah, yeah, who's trying to
get a free dinner off you?
Speaker 4 (41:49):
Actually, I was going to take this person to dinner,
so I said, let's go to Chili's. And then he said, well,
you know, my wife and I want to take you
guys out. So I picked the most expensive restaurant I
could find.
Speaker 3 (42:01):
Right, But then you also had to point out your
wife wouldn't be there and it would just be you.
Speaker 2 (42:05):
We're gonna both be there. Oh okay, So she's driving
up for this. No, I'm driving down to Connecticut for it.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
I'm so damn confused. You just said someone's coming to
your place for dinner.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
Well, I've met Connecticut because that's my new place. I'm sorry,
I'm sorry. It's a host from you want to take
a guess who the host is or I have I
have no idea. Anthony Gargano. There's only so many hosted
Fox Sports Radio, is there not?
Speaker 3 (42:28):
Or Anthony Gargano, Mike Carman, Jason Smith, Dan Patrick, Richie Caveno,
his initials.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Rob Parker. I mean there's eight thousand first name rhymes
with ballin oh Colin Coward, and you are having dinner together.
I'm just kidding. I'm being Bernie Fratto are having dinner together.
What's Bernie Fratto doing coming up to the northeast? Huh?
Speaker 4 (42:54):
You know, people do like the northeast. There is a
whole nother different area, you know. Then you know just
all this West Los Angeles stuff. I want you to
know that.
Speaker 2 (43:03):
Well. I don't disagree with that. I live in Flyover Country.
I don't. I almost moved gules By, Oklahoma. You know that.
You know what? Say it right? Say it right? What
is it?
Speaker 3 (43:14):
How do you say? You know what it is? You've
got a thousand times? What's my Where do I live? Gulesby, Oklahoma?
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Dude? One two three one two sooner? Way? I shouldn't
give out your address on the airs. That bad to do.
Just say this, you say the city's name, right, How
do you say it? I don't know. How do you know?
You know how to say it? Gollsby? There you go, Well,
have fun with Bernie. That sounds like a blast. Yeah,
it's an expensive place where we're going. I made him
(43:43):
it's gonna be real expensive. Are you gonna point out
to him how you never ever place any of your bets?
That's not true. That's not true at all. I don't
know where this is all coming from. They don't know
place bets. I don't. I don't bet on every team.
I don't think you bettercause you are so out there
with your picks that if you actually gambled fifty, what
(44:05):
is wrong with its fifty to fifty that you win
your bets?
Speaker 3 (44:08):
If you would be you are so out there even
when you get the slightest pick, right, I think you
would be the first person that would be flashing your
winning ticket.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
I went five and two in the NFL. Do you
know my picks have been doing real well? Again? How much?
Speaker 1 (44:20):
So?
Speaker 2 (44:20):
How much money? Do you know? You guys just don't
give me any credit for doing that though, because I
just think you pick. I don't think you gamble. I
just think you picked games, which is fine, I like,
but you act like you say.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
It's not for entertainment purposes only, And yeah, I don't
think you gamble. I don't think your wife let you gamble.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
Wow, oh my god. I just saying I'm.
Speaker 3 (44:37):
Laying it out there if you're gonna be like, oh, yeah,
I'm betting all this money, making all this money.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
I didn't say I was betting a lot of money.
You slow down there, pumped the brakes. I didn't say
I was spending a lot of is that moment, hey,
Beth might be listening in. I'm not spending a lot.
You know what's so funny is you know what's in
my new apartment? Do you know what's right across the
street from my place? Your new apartment in Connecticut? In Connecticut?
Nice casino, OTV? Oh nice? Those things are few and
(45:03):
far between anymore. Oh yeah, there you go, man, I'm
gonna have fun at that. I'm gonna be there every day.
You won't be there every day because your wife won't
letend across the street for me. Yeah, I'll get have
fun there.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
I like this old trophy husband thing would and very
quick if Arnie was spending every day at another TV.
Speaker 4 (45:22):
My old boss used to go bet on their horses
when we all lived in Vegas. I used to go
to the Hilton and sit there all day just betting
on the horse. Instead of you know, being a boss
and running the network.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
He would just.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Gamble all day on the horses. And he was horrible
at it too, just miserable at it.
Speaker 3 (45:40):
Who is really good at betting on horses. It's not
an easy thing to do.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
No, not at all, man, it is not easy at all.
Speaker 3 (45:47):
My my daughter hit one race one time, because you know,
we've got tracks all over around here. And then you know,
she thought she was good at it because she picked
the color of the horse or like I think it
was the horse number or something. She never won another
race the rest of the night, so it's, uh, you know,
get lucky.
Speaker 4 (46:03):
One time, my cousin who lives in New York, you know,
he has a bunch of friends. They were all in
the gambling big time, and they had a friend who
thought he was like part of the mafia, and they
got a tip on a horse in one of the races,
and yonkers.
Speaker 2 (46:17):
It was like a twelve to one or nine to one.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
So they all drove down there to bet the horse
and they got there like seven minutes late.
Speaker 2 (46:26):
And the horse ones, Oh they got there late for it?
They got that lays? Are they good plays to bet
on him? And the horse? One?
Speaker 3 (46:33):
Now you're you are being accused of maybe being a
little bit facetious with some of your stories.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Oh my goodness, which one is this? Which one's that?
The junior one? Right?
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Well, Rick writes, I'm not sure which story Arnie is
lying more about his legend encounter with cal Ripken or
the hot air Emmitt Smith breaking news Arnie should run
for Congress.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
He's so full of hot air. Wow, well the cap?
Could you know what?
Speaker 4 (46:56):
I I double check to make sure I wasn't exactly
anything check. I did have to double checking. You know
what's so funny? I asked one of the guys who
played in the game.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
I go, didn't we play three on three against cal
Ripken Junior? And he goes, oh my god, I forgot
about that. Yes we did, so, Yeah, we were kind
of laughing about that. I got that confirmed from uh,
two of the guys that were playing.
Speaker 3 (47:19):
I never accused you of making it up. I just
thought that, Uh, I thought you were being disrespectful to
baseball players by thinking that for some reason they were
going to be some small, scrawny guys in there.
Speaker 2 (47:32):
I did when I when I hit him once and
he looked at me like, are you serious. I did
say something to this effect like, hey, this ain't softball, Cal,
let's go, let's tough enough, come on softball. Yeah, yeah,
you know, I thought that was kind of funny.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
You know, well, I mean, you're trying to talk smack
to Cal Ripken junior.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
Yeah, but I had no respect back then. I was
just a young punk, you know.
Speaker 4 (47:53):
I was just Oh, I saw was Cal Ripken junior,
and I'm like, okay, I'm taking Cal.
Speaker 2 (47:58):
There's no way that guy could play back basketball, right,
There's no way he's going to be good at basketball.
Uh nature boy rites.
Speaker 3 (48:05):
I thought the Packers were headed for the super Bowl
after all the talk last week. Too bad they got flackoed.
How the world did that happen in that game?
Speaker 2 (48:12):
I don't know. If I'm more curious one. If I'm
a Packers fan today, my mind is just blown away.
It's like, WHOA, what's going on here?
Speaker 3 (48:22):
It's we're in control of this game, even though it's
never really comfortable it's ten zip. Defense hasn't given up anything.
Then you get a field goal block. The next thing
you know, it's a ballgame. Like, how in the world
does that happen?
Speaker 2 (48:35):
And yeah, usually that happens against Cleveland, you know what
I mean, It usually happens against them.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
I was thinking about that one of the first viral
videos from football where the guy was at a at
a Browns game and they're getting ready to kick the
game winning field goal and he's and he's videotaping himself
and it gets blocked and it's return for the game
winning touchdown and oh my gosh, and just I think
it was like a Broncos Ravens game for many years
ago though, But yeah, that's usually what happens to Cleveland.
(49:03):
That's a factory of sadness kind of right, And then
lo and behold, it happens to Green Bay. By the way,
I'm shot by that. I'm doing a one eighty on somebody.
This is kind of like this ties in the Roman
numeral number sixteen. I've done a one eighty on one
player that I thought, this guy, you're gonna be really good.
Hold on, I don't have him on the list.
Speaker 2 (49:23):
I thought it was wrong. I thought sixteen where people
that we were wrong about.
Speaker 9 (49:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:28):
Yeah, everybody loved this guy coming into this year. And
I mean, like like approval rating ninety five percent, and
I'm here to tell you, let's pump the breaks big time.
I'm thinking he's not as good as he's certainly not
as good as as advertised.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
I'm talking about bow Knicks, you know what I mean.
I mean, there's all this guy. He's the next Dan
Marie's every Day's great man. He's pumped the breaks on
bow Knicks. Now, finally, please, I it was just getting
out of hand coming into this year. People were jumping on.
Speaker 4 (50:01):
That bow Knicks Denver bandwagon like it was going out
of style.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
I gotta pump the brakes on him, there, Chris.
Speaker 3 (50:07):
I've been pumping the breaks on him since the moment.
Everyone was blowing him up. And it's not just bucko hatred.
I mean, you got, you got. And again, I know
Collins buddy was Sean Payton, but they're talking about all
his passer ratings and his numbers and look how great.
Speaker 2 (50:19):
He was at the end of the season. Yeah. Look
who they played.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Yeah, like they didn't play anybody near the end of
the season last year. I think they had one game
down the stretch to the Broncos in their last seven
against a team that even had a winning record, and
most of the team suck like the Raiders. And now
everyone's like, oh, he's amazing now when he's going up
against good teams, he's one to two.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Guy.
Speaker 3 (50:39):
Now, granted I didn't I mean I didn't look at
the final numbers. I didn't get a chance to watch
a lot of this games. Was he bad today?
Speaker 2 (50:45):
This is one of those games I didn't get to
see a lot of. It was like one hundred and
fifty yards passing and well the taker was there? What
was it this way about bow knicks?
Speaker 8 (50:54):
Late third quarter, Denver had eight drives on offense, six
first downs. Ooh, okay, they were leading at the time
because they had that little stretch right before and after
halftime that got him the league. But Chargers with ten
points in the last three minutes won the game. Can
I just say Denver's defense is still as good as
(51:14):
it was last year?
Speaker 2 (51:15):
Absolutely?
Speaker 8 (51:16):
They led the NFL in sacks a year ago, and
they had nothing but pressure on Justin Herbert today. It
was an astounding and consistent amount of pressure. In fact,
statistically for Herbert, it was the highest pressure rate he
has faced in any game of his pro career. Fifty
five percent of the time he dropped back to pass,
(51:37):
he was under pressure, and still he came through, including
with the tying touchdown in the final minutes. It was
really stunning how good he was. But man, Nick Benito
was in the backfield seemingly all day.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
Boomer Sooner, Nick Benito, Baby, he was a part of
some really bad defenses at Oklahoma.
Speaker 2 (51:55):
Now he's one of the best pass rushers in the league.
Speaker 4 (51:57):
And I have another guy who I it wasn't going
to be that good, and then I was wrong. So
I did a one eighty because I said, Okay, he
is going to be good, and now I'm going to
do another one eighty because he really wasn't any good.
I know it, And I was right from the very beginning.
Speaker 2 (52:12):
Well, I mean, I guess you can take credit for that.
Speaker 1 (52:14):
C J.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
Stroud.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
C J Stroud remember of coming in, I'm like, I'm
not taking him, I'm not not field at Chris. And
then he had a great rookie year, right was it
the first?
Speaker 3 (52:25):
So he had an awful preseason game that you decided
after one preseason quarter that he sucked.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
Then he had a very good first year, and since
that first year he's been average at best. And I
think that was last year and this year, right, this
is his third year in the league. Right, Am I
right about that?
Speaker 2 (52:44):
You are correct?
Speaker 8 (52:44):
Yet a Texans offense today thirteen drives, thirteen first downs.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
Yeah. See, I thought, really I was wrong about c J.
Speaker 4 (52:52):
Stroud because everybody was like, oh, glok, what this guy
did after his first year.
Speaker 2 (52:56):
I'm like, yeah, he looked awesome.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
Man, he just looked fantastic, especially for a rookie.
Speaker 2 (53:01):
What's he going to do his second year? And it
just never materialized. And now he's off to a slow
started third year.
Speaker 8 (53:06):
And they were getting a couple receivers back today and
Nick Chubb, I can we just put an official question
mark out on the whole running game and what they're
having to rely on in Houston these days?
Speaker 2 (53:18):
Not good and mixing shut.
Speaker 4 (53:20):
Yeah, And I'll give you one more person who I
thought was going to be really good, and I'll be
the first to pump the brakes on him. Everybody's still,
i think, is on his bandwagon, and you know it
was on the team's Bandwagon. But I'm like, yeah, I'm
not so sure that's pandis junior man.
Speaker 2 (53:37):
What's going on here? This This game was awful.
Speaker 4 (53:41):
Last week they were okay, But he's just he's not
you know, I mean, I know it's it's early in
his career, but I need to see some you know,
some wow factor here.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
You know what I'm saying, or.
Speaker 8 (53:50):
Her cousin's got in the game today. Well, they had
no other option. They couldn't do anything.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
That's sighting. We actually had a sighting. It's kind of funny.
People will say he's like, well, you know, Pennix is young,
He's still got to learn. He's twenty five freaking years old.
It's like bo Nicks too, Like these guys come in
where they played six years of college and they're like, oh,
he's giving times.
Speaker 8 (54:10):
He had the injury of course in college as well.
Speaker 4 (54:13):
And by the way, I've done a one eighty on tour.
It's that's just not going to work out. If we
were breaking up, I would say I would say, it's
not you, it's me.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
It's me. I'm sorry, He's he's got to go.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
I'm at this point, I'm I'm willing to take just
about anybody over to it right now?
Speaker 2 (54:34):
Is it what he said in the post game or no?
Speaker 8 (54:39):
Just everything the responsibility you're talking about, Yeah, exactly, yeah
black Yeah, but he had twenty two completions in an
NFL game and still didn't get up to one hundred
and fifty yards. And then you got a game that's
literally tied mid fourth quarter at Buffalo Thursday night, and
he has the pick.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
Not only does he have the pick, but you guys
do some stupid stuff man, as a team.
Speaker 2 (55:02):
And I know, trust me, I know stupid.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
I'm a Raiders fan, but I mean the roughing the
kicker from your captain.
Speaker 8 (55:07):
However, the Broncos lots the last two weeks talk about
stupid penalties.
Speaker 2 (55:11):
My goodness, it makes no sense.
Speaker 4 (55:14):
And I'll give you one more person that I'm pumping
the brakes on.
Speaker 2 (55:17):
And already now is this Roman numeral sixteen or yes,
Roman rogue here Roman?
Speaker 4 (55:21):
Well, Roman numeral sixteen. But and he certainly has not
had a lot of games under his belt. But I'm
I'm gonna say no, I'm JJ McCarthy. I'm gonna have
to that's a hard Yeah, that's a hard pass on me.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 8 (55:36):
I'm gonna have to move on from that because he
was so bad today. Yeah, he's terrible, didn't that play?
Speaker 3 (55:42):
But maybe part of it is that the Vikings looked
so good without him.
Speaker 2 (55:46):
Yeah, they looked fantastic.
Speaker 8 (55:48):
You know, Well they look that good without Aaron Jones
too today, that is true.
Speaker 2 (55:52):
Gosh, they look good today.
Speaker 3 (55:54):
We for some reason early on Red Zone was on
that quite a bit because.
Speaker 8 (55:59):
Score it was forty eight to three Vikings at the
end of three, like what in the world in NFL here?
Speaker 3 (56:08):
And I thought the smart thing if I could be
a fantasy nerd, was hey, you know, I'll just take
Jake Browning.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
He's got all those weapons. Oh yeah, right, that's turned
out well. I think you even gave me that advice,
didn't you areny? I did not know. I'm the one
that said it was over. You're like he won three
and two when it was a starter.
Speaker 8 (56:23):
He definitely was him numbers. It might have been yet
against the weapons. Higgins had one catch today, by the way, and.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
My other person I made this out before the game started,
so I didn't bring his name up.
Speaker 2 (56:34):
Was I was going to say? And I'm out on
him too. He's just not getting it done, but he
has the game of his life today. After that, Caleb Williams, So,
I mean I was going to say I was all out,
but now I'm gonna have to wait a little bit
after what he did today. Yeah, Caleb looked really good.
Speaker 8 (56:48):
Too, long touchdown pass his first quarter.
Speaker 3 (56:50):
And you know everyone had been kind of out on
Roma Dunesday and we really hadn't so much. Oh yeah, man,
people are like, he had the most targets today, but
he got They got Burden involved, they got him involved.
It was fun to see. All right, let's get a break,
Let's get Todd Furman in here. It's arn't even plank.
We're coming to you live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Hey,
I want to remind you to check out Draft Kings
(57:11):
sportsbook and official sports betting partner of the NFL. Right now,
use the promo code Fox Game. That's Fox Game, g
a Emmy to claim your special offered Draft Kings. Draft Kings,
the Crown is yours.
Speaker 2 (57:24):
Don't forget.
Speaker 3 (57:24):
That's promo code Fox Game. Todd Furman's next and Fox
Sports Radio. All right, it's that time. Let's go to Vegas.
Todd Furman joins us in the House so todd everywhere
this weekend. Man, what a weekend for college and pro football.
I know we always like to ask how the Books did?
What was today like on.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
That front for the National Football League? Good day, bad
day for the Books.
Speaker 9 (57:47):
Mixed bag. Sunday night football game doesn't go the way
the House would have liked, with Kansas City being one
of the more popular public sides, so anybody that got
themselves in a hole early in the day had an
opportunity to chase out one of the other big decisions.
Chargers Brown Ghost falls right on the number, with the
Chargers closing a three point favor that game, falling twenty
three to twenty. But one of the better results for
the House was the Chicago Bears. I think everybody, in
(58:09):
the wake of their thirty plus point loss last week
against the Lions, was more than happy to try and
sell the Caleb Williams situation. The Bears, of course, succeeded
odds makers expectations with the dominant performance, and then early
in the day Books finally got one of their big
underdogs to win out right Cleveland and improbable fashion erasing
a double digit deficit in the fourth quarter to come
back and upset Green Bay as a seven and a
(58:31):
half point underdog right there on Lake Erie and DoD.
Speaker 4 (58:34):
How many people were feeling good about their Eagles minus
two and a half when they were lining up to
kick the field goal to win the game, or when
the Rams were lining up to kick the field goal
to win the game.
Speaker 9 (58:44):
I mean, look, it was the only time that the
Eagles were outside the number as a three and a
half point favorite. It came on a blocked field goal
that would have won the game for the Rams. And
more often than not, a player typically slides down. Jordan
Davis wanted to do his best Bo Jackson impression and
the big Man was not going to be denied, oh
with his quest for paydirt. So you go from having
a Rams ticket you feel pretty comfortable with when they
(59:05):
were leading twenty six to seven early on in that
second half, to suddenly finding yourself on the wrong side
of a bookmaker decision with a thirty three twenty six
final in favor of Philadelphia.
Speaker 3 (59:17):
It was pretty wild, though, to watch the late swings,
was it, not, Todd? I mean, that's what we love
about the NFL.
Speaker 2 (59:23):
Now.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
Unfortunately, some of us are fans who had put us
in misery like the Raiders Washington game, so it you
get to enjoy too much. But I'm watching Joe Flacco
Pumpa's fist after a game winning field goal. You guys
were talking about the crazy finish the Eagles rams. I mean,
just when you get the Witching Hour, that's that insane.
I mean, I'm sure it's sometimes a gambler's nightmare, but
as a fan, it's just it's amazing.
Speaker 9 (59:45):
Oh it's full blown cast and I think that's what
he keeps people coming back to NFL football, you know,
for the early and late slate. I mean, there used
to be a saying when you watched primetime NFL games
that either side or total was always going to be
decided in the final couple of minutes. And given some
of the parody you see in the league from top
to bottom, that usually seems to resonate more often than not.
Of course, you do have some of those outlier games
(01:00:07):
like Minnesota absolutely blowing out Cincinnati to the tune of
a forty eight ten win. You mentioned the Commanders comfortably
over the Raiders, and then one of the more improvable
score lines of the day, the Atlanta Falcons getting shut
out on the road in Charlotte despite out gaining the
Carolina Panthers and losing that game by thirty points.
Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
Don As we added the week four, do you reevaluate
what you thought was going to happen? Like, do you
said to yourself, well, look at the Colts for three
and zero, maybe I'll put some money on them to
reach the Super Bowl and see if I get lucky
or anything like that. Do you kind of re envirol
what do you say, Cincinnati lost their quarterback, I'm staying
way away from them.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
What do you do when now I was heading in
the Week four?
Speaker 9 (01:00:43):
I think you always have to be fluid in your
assessment of these teams because injuries in the NFL is
the name of the game.
Speaker 8 (01:00:48):
Man.
Speaker 9 (01:00:48):
A team that could have Super Bowl aspirations quickly gets
things derailed almost overnight if they don't have some of
their key cogs out there, whether it's a starting quarterback,
whether it's cluster injuries along the offensive line, and you
mentioned in Indianapolis Colts, so they have no doubt been
one of the bigger surprises so far this season. I mean,
holding serve at home, beating a beleaguer Dolphins team, already
the first week of the season, following up with it
(01:01:09):
impressive but improbable let late finish against the Denver Broncos,
and then a big win this week against the Titans,
but there still is a little bit to be desired.
They'll step up in class this coming weekend, and I'm
sure they'll have an ornery bunch when they travel out
to the West coast, knowing that the Rams let a
glorious opportunity to get a win slip through their fingers
at Philadelphia, and we'll see if Indianapolis is for real,
if they can go in a hostile territory and not
(01:01:31):
just cover up and maybe went out raised a three
and a half point do against Matthew Stafford and company.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
I hate to be this Homer, but I do want
to ask raders questions. Last week was a moment. Monday Night,
had a great crowd, a fairy pro Raiders crowd, and
they light an egg. I mean, they were just terrible
from start to finish against the Chargers. Then they go
to Washington and somehow play worse. Now you get the
Bears coming up, who actually looked like a football team.
Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Are they any better? I mean, what's going on in
Vegas right now.
Speaker 9 (01:02:00):
I think there's going to be growing teams. It's a
team right now that has an offensive line that there
are plenty of questions that have to be answered on
a weekend, week out basis. I mean, Geno Smith, we
know what he is at this point. His career is
only as good as the weapons he's surrounded by. And
when you look in the box square today, I mean
Trey Tucker looked like he had a banner performance, but
I mean a catch one hundred and forty five yards
and three touchdowns. I don't think any of those came
(01:02:22):
at a meaningful juncture of the game. Max Crosby is
pretty outspoken, said we have to be more disciplined and
button up defensively. I mean, they look like they didn't
want to tackle anybody for the Washington Commanders, but it's
always tough in this kind of spot. I mean, the
Raiders played on a short week, traveled across the country.
The Commanders had extra rest, and Washington also had the
advantage of knowing what Marcus Mariota could and couldn't do
(01:02:42):
leading their offense, while the Raiders were kind of flying
in their blind So we'll see if they can bounce
back against the Bears. But the one thing I can
tell you, it's probably going to be a very pro
Bears crowd on Sunday. I mean, one of the more
expensive tickets on the Raiders' schedule. Folks in Chicago don't
ever need a reason to come out to Las Vegas,
but this gives them one. Bullied with optimism given how
well Caleb Williams played, not just today, but do three
(01:03:04):
games so far this eason.
Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Todd, I don't know if you caught the mistake in
the line in the college football game coming up this week.
There was a mistake.
Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
They had Iowa State favored by six and a half
over Arizona.
Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
I think that's seven Iowa State Community College over Arizona.
What does Todd? What do I have on with you
for money? A gazillion dollars?
Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
Do I have that as credit to make a bet
on that game?
Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
Please? Todd? What's going on?
Speaker 9 (01:03:30):
No, you have absolutely no credit line with me. I
need some upfront collateral that You've never been able to
provide that in the long time that we've been able
to work together. But you mentioned Arizona in their trip
to games. I think it's a fascinating game because Arizona
right now has gone out there and played well in spots.
They were a lot better the last time we saw
them against Kansas State game where the final score wasn't
(01:03:51):
nearly as indicative of how lopsided that game was on
the field. Meanwhile, for Iowa State, you can continue to
dig into the cyclone's resume right now and you have
a lot of questions. You be Kansas eight to start
the season, the Kansas State team that clearly isn't anywhere
we expected them to be. You beat Iowa thirteen to ten,
couldn't move the football, and Rutgers carved through them at
least for a half last Friday night. So I think
(01:04:11):
this is a great opportunity for coach Brennan and company
to get a big win on the road and announce said, hey, look,
maybe Arizona can be a Cinderella story in the Big twelve.
As the top of the conference continues to beat each other.
Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
Oh, we're gonna beat them like a drawn please, man,
if you have a million, you'll get two million back.
This is this is like stealing. Oh my goodness, I'm steel.
I should be locked up.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
I'm stealing.
Speaker 9 (01:04:32):
Well, I think the million would only get me nine
hundred and nine thousand back. Arney, you do have to
lay minus a dollar ten, but we don't let mass
get in the way of it.
Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
No money line though, forget forget about the six and
a half. Just take the money line. You don't want
the points, Tod, just just take money.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Gone on that.
Speaker 9 (01:04:47):
This confidence plank concerns me. Normally, Arnie saves this for
when Arizona hits the hardwood at the McHale Center for
basketball season. It's rare that he gets this up at
he in late September about Arizona Wildcats football.
Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Oh, he was very upity in the preseason about the
Dolph and we see how that's going. It's very interesting
in that whenever, aren't you throw out the realm numeral rundown?
Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
Todd last question for me.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
The first few responses were about, oh, Dabo's done. Dabo's done,
like college football and Clemson and what's going on there?
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
What do you make of that situation? He's not going
to get fired.
Speaker 3 (01:05:17):
They just went to the playoffs last year, but boy,
he has the weird press conference. They go out and
they get smoked by Syracuse this week, and what is
going on with a team that we thought could compete
for a championship.
Speaker 9 (01:05:27):
It is a great question, and you look at the
buyout numbers and they're going to have to be some
folks with deep pockets around that Clemson program if they
decided year's end they want to go in a different direction.
But a lot of people are starting to say that
Clemson can be very similar to what Florida State was
last year. And my pushback on that as a Florida
State went into the transfer portal and how to kind
of rebuild a roster. This was a Clemson team with
a lot of talent that was home grown. You had
(01:05:49):
a third year starting quarterback in Kate Klubnick that was
supposed to take the next step. We did have questions
about the running back position and where a game breaker
could emerge. But defensively, I mean, this was a pick
for a lot of people might off included I thought
they were had national championship aspirations. You watch them on
Saturday against Syracuse and they looked anything but in the
middle of the teeth pack acc team. Things aren't going
(01:06:09):
to get much better. Maybe they can regroup out of
the bye, but that was about as lackluster as lackluster
efforts get when you're a seventeen point favorite and you
get beaten like a drum in your own building.
Speaker 4 (01:06:19):
Don't forget Todd. I already know the final score of
the Arizona game. One of the reporters played the Madden simulation,
so I already saw the score.
Speaker 1 (01:06:27):
So that's nice.
Speaker 9 (01:06:29):
I mean, you know already. If you were generous, you'd
be sharing that with everybody that was listening. Oh, you
out thirty eight and help get them to the window.
Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
Thirty eight twenty Arizona over Iowa State.
Speaker 9 (01:06:39):
Yeah, I'm going to take Arizona team total under thirty eight.
They may win the game, but they're not going to
do it with scoring thirty eight points. I'll go, wow,
say that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
Don't be such a hater, man, I'm just helping you out. Man,
there'll be such a ei.
Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
I aggreciate that, man of the people.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
That's great. Thanks God.
Speaker 9 (01:06:54):
Always a pleasure, gents, you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
Hey, that's out for him, And hey, let's tell you
about the Harlem Globetrotters real quick before the Sega rolls
in with the reminder that it isn't just a game,
it's once in a generation event, The Harlem Globe Trotters
one hundred Year Tour. Come be a part of the
legacy that never stops. Be there when history is made.
The Harlem Globe Trotter is one hundred year Tour. Get
your tickets at Harlem Globetrotters dot com. He moves like
(01:07:16):
a Globe trotter. Steve de Seger is in the house.
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:07:19):
Just need the whistling in the background. You've got the
New York Giants at oh and three after losing it
home to Kansas City tonight twenty two to nine. Casey
had been oh to two to start the season and
stat saying pointing out that this three game stretch of
Russell Wilson has never happened with any quarterback in NFL history.
He started the year throwing for under two hundred yards
no touchdowns, next game over four hundred and fifty yards,
(01:07:43):
and then back to under two hundred yards and no
touchdowns again tonight those three in a row. He had
two interceptions tonight as well. Harrison Bucker three field goals
in the first half for the Chiefs. Chargers are three
and oh after beating Denver twenty three to twenty on
a field goal on the final play. Broncos, who cost
themselves a win a week ago with the penalty on
the field goal by the Colts. Well ten penalties for
(01:08:04):
Denver today ninety yards worth starring on defense again for
the Chargers, Derwin James twelve total tackles, including four tackles
for loss and a sack. In fact, Denver's offense had
nine first downs the whole day. Chargers had twenty nine
first downs Denver on third down conversions just two of thirteen.
Chargers were eight of seventeen. San Francisco's three to zero
(01:08:26):
after a sixteen to fifteen win over Arizona on a
field goal on the final play. Cardinals running back James
Conner is out for the year after a severe ankle injury.
By the way. Chargers running back Najie Harris suffered an
apparent torn achilles. Today, Chicago beat Dallas thirty one to fourteen,
four touchdown passes for Caleb Williams, who had two hundred
ninety eight yards through the year. New Orleans is zero
(01:08:48):
to three after losing badly at Seattle. Seahawks were up
thirty eight three before halftime forty four to thirteen the
final wide receiver Jackson Smith and Jigbo five catches ninety
six yards in a score after the illness this week
three and oh record for Philadelphia. After the big comeback
over the Rams thirty three to twenty six, Philly was
down twenty six to seven in the third quarter. Aj
(01:09:09):
Brown six catches one hundred nine yards and a TD.
Cleveland trailed Green Bay ten nothing with four minutes left
and still beat the Packers thirteen to ten on a
fifty five yard field goal as time expired. Tampa Bay's
three and oh after a field goal on the final
play twenty nine twenty seven over the Jets. So while
the Bucks are three and oh, the Jets are oh
(01:09:30):
and three Houston's oh and three. Texans had three turnovers
and lost to Jacksonville seventeen to ten on a TV
run with under two minutes left. Wins for Washington and Pittsburgh.
For Indy, which is three and oh, and wins for
Carolina and Minnesota. Monday night Detroit at Baltimore. Last Thursday,
Buffalo beat Miami thirty one twenty one. Syracuse quarterback Steve
(01:09:51):
Angeli is out for the year with a torn achilles
not hurt soon. Yeah, there's yet another non contact injury
that we've seen multiples of those this week. An In football,
the University of Miami is up to number two in
the new AP poll, behind number one Ohio State. Oklahoma
up done number seven. Heck yeah, Indiana rose to number
eleven and Illinois is down to number twenty three. That
(01:10:12):
was one of the biggest blowout losses ever suffered by
a top ten team. Last night, Ryan Blaney won the
NASCAR race at New Hampshire. Josh Barry finished second. Joey
Logano led the most laps today and finished fourth. In
the WNBA semi final openers, Indiana and Minnesota were winners.
Indiana won at Las Vegas eighty nine to seventy three
in defeat the new MVP who is the old MVP?
(01:10:34):
Asia Wilson shot six of twenty two from the floor.
Minnesota beat Phoenix, and tonight's ballgame at Houston went to
Seattle again seven three. Mariners their first in the AL
West by three games over Houston. Now Seattle got seven
runs in the second inning Tonight, cal Rawley hit his
fifty eighth homer.
Speaker 2 (01:10:51):
Here.
Speaker 8 (01:10:51):
Cleveland was tied for the last Al Wildcard with Houston,
so that's going to be a fight this week. The
regular season ends next Sunday, Toronto. Today, the Blue Jays
clinched a playoff spot. Detroit and Cleveland each lost. Cincinnati
when it's fifth in a row. The reds Now own
the last NL wild card. They had the tiebreaker over
the Mets, who lost again. Today Milwaukee lost, but the
(01:11:12):
Brewers did clinch the NL Central title. Victories for San Francisco,
San Diego and Arizona.
Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
Beck to you, hey, by the way, the sacred do
the math For me, this Tigers collapse is that bigger
than when the Red Sox collapsed against the Yankees.
Speaker 8 (01:11:29):
Remember, yeah, when you're down about fifteen games in the
summer nineteen seventy eight, you're talking about Yankees here.
Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
So was it fifteen games the Yankees were down there?
Speaker 8 (01:11:38):
I think this was fourteen and a half maybe, But
the stunning thing to me is literally less than two
weeks ago. I think it was nine and a half.
Speaker 2 (01:11:45):
Yes, you're right about that.
Speaker 8 (01:11:47):
Nobody was paying attention to the AL Central because it
wasn't a race, And now, wow, that's crazy. So the
Tigers are only one game up on the Guardian says
they each lost today.
Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
That's a major collapse. That's just me.
Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
My best buds is a Tiger fan. I didn't even
checked on him. I probably need to check on him.
Speaker 8 (01:12:04):
On him.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
Baseball news is news to me tonight. Man. It's been
great to see.
Speaker 8 (01:12:09):
By the way, Detroit playing at Cleveland starting Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
I'll be fuck great as that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Hey, so you're not on team, go get Jackson Dart
in there. You're not you're not on toy.
Speaker 2 (01:12:22):
I want to wait.
Speaker 4 (01:12:22):
We'll look you through for four and fifty yards or
at least going to get another start from me, and
if I'm gonna if I'm gonna make the move, yeah,
it certainly makes sense the next game, but I'm gonna
wait to the Saint's game. Make it a little bit
easier on the kid, and you know, make sure he
has good confidence after that first game.
Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
I don't want it to be too rough for him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
You haven't been afraid to throw him out there, right,
They've had a handful of plays that they've used him
on it.
Speaker 2 (01:12:44):
I think that's more.
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
I think that's you know where they said they had
a package for him and I so I'm coming for
one play to start things off. I'm like, that's not
the way to get him into a game now.
Speaker 8 (01:12:53):
But it is like, guys, when Virginia Tech got rid
of their football coach last weekend, and who are they
playing winless Wafford next?
Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
Okay right here, exactly, yes, exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:13:03):
You Sela gets rid of its code. I think they
had a bye this weekend, so yeah, give him a
little bit more time, right Hey.
Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
I thought this was interesting from tiger Man in Utah,
who writes as crazy as this is going to sound
because they're they're zero to three guys, I think Cam
Skataboo looks like he can be a difference maker for
the Giants. So a lot of giants talk here in
this segment. I'm very aware. But he does look pretty good, man.
Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
He does. He does.
Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
He kind of reminds me of like a Larry Zanka
type to throwback days, you know what I mean. He
certainly could take a hit, there's no doubt about that.
Speaker 8 (01:13:34):
And deliver a hit he had not. And the thing
is they're using him in the passing game too, and
he he was so good at Arizona State. I realized
not a lot of people watched him at Arizona State.
Maybe until the bowl game when he was struggling to
get on the field, and you saw that character of
his and he's just so fun to watch. But he
had sixty yards rushing and sixty one receiving in this
(01:13:55):
game tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:13:56):
Look good.
Speaker 8 (01:13:56):
They had nothing else on offense but him.
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
Yeah, all right, quick break.
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
When we come back to Sagar's got news notes and tidbits,
we call it to the segment and it's next with
Arnine Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, don't forget to
check out Draft Kings Sportsbook, an official sports betting partner
of the NFL. Right now, use the promo code Fox Game.
That's Fox Game to claim your special offer a Draft Kings,
(01:14:21):
Draft Kings. The crowd is yours. Don't forget, that's promo
code Fox Game. He never reps a set. Steve Sager
is in the.
Speaker 8 (01:14:29):
House, putting in to Dallas start to the season in
perspective as they got blown out int Chicago today. Do
you remember seven short days ago the Giants scored thirty
seven against the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
Last Tis Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 8 (01:14:42):
In the other two games, the Giants have played fifteen
points total, including the loss at home to Kansas City.
So oh and three Giants record, and we've mentioned some
of the other OH and three teams. So far this
year since they expanded the schedule to seventeen games each,
nobody started OH and three and made the postse and
in fact, there have been thirteen in the last four years.
(01:15:03):
Thirteen teams start OH to three. Only a couple of
them even finished with a winning record after the OH
and three start. Oh that included the Bengals at nine
to eight last year, but again they did not make.
Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
The play I've a lot to look forward to the
this year.
Speaker 8 (01:15:15):
That's right, it is all but over. No, this is
small sample size. We haven't had the seventeen game schedule
that long. But I'm just saying, no OH and three
start has gotten you into the playoffs in recent years. Meanwhile,
among the three and O teams, Tampa Bay Chase McLoughlin
five for six on field goals field goal on the
final play beat the Jets twenty nine twenty seven Jets
(01:15:36):
one of the OH and three teams. Amazingly, Tampa Bay
the first team in the Super Bowl era so about
sixty years to get the game winning score in the
final minute of the fourth quarter in all three games
to start a season. That is rare to do in
three games in a row at any point of the season.
That is how Tampa Bay's year has started. Philadelphia had
(01:15:57):
a huge comeback today, down nineteen to the in the
second half. Apparently in the NFL it's been two years
since anybody was down nineteen or more in the second
half and came back to win the game. My immediate
thought was, wait a minute, what about that Bill's comeback
A couple of Sunday nights ago. I looked it up.
They were down fifteen. It was more it did?
Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
It?
Speaker 8 (01:16:18):
Absolutely did anyway down?
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
What was it?
Speaker 8 (01:16:20):
The Eagles down twenty six to seven in the third
quarter and still beat the right.
Speaker 2 (01:16:24):
I thought it was over then, I'm like, we could
change absolutely.
Speaker 8 (01:16:27):
In fact, I turned to Ben Mallor early third quarter
where you were watching it, I said, is that it?
Because they just went up twenty six to seven?
Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
You hang out with Ben Mallar.
Speaker 8 (01:16:35):
He happened to be at the game today as well.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
You don't hang out with me.
Speaker 8 (01:16:38):
If you were there, I would have had lunch with you,
but you're busy having lunch with Bernie. Yeah, exactly. By
the way, part of the comeback was two block field
goals for the Eagles in the fourth quarter, apparently the
first team since at least nineteen seventy eight to block
two field goals in the fourth quarter of the same game.
And on the final play, it was a runback from
(01:16:58):
Jalen Carter defense of tackle. Who's listed it, Let's say,
three hundred and thirty six pounds running it back sixty
one yards for the score as time expired. Needless to say,
he's the heaviest guy in the history of the league
to run back a block hick for a score.
Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
He was chugging down there.
Speaker 8 (01:17:15):
Yes, yes, I actually had some speed on him comparatively.
And we do have a couple of obvious nominees for
defensive Player of the Week in the NFC. As the
Bears beat Dallas today, linebacker Tremaine Edmonds had two interceptions
and fifteen tackles, and Minnesota as they blitzed Cincinnati forty
eight to ten, had corner Isaiah Rogers with not only
(01:17:37):
two forced fumbles, he had a long fumble return for
a touchdown and a long interception returned for a touchdown.
Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
I heard that Pro Football Focus gave it me ninety
nine point nine rating, the highest rating of any football players.
Speaker 8 (01:17:50):
Well, when you force two fumbles and scored two touchdowns
from defense on the same game, I get what if you.
Speaker 4 (01:17:56):
Get extra couple of tackles, you can't get any higher
than ninety nine point nine spot yet another touchdown, a
third touchdown?
Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
What's going on? You know?
Speaker 8 (01:18:03):
I think you've had, let's say issues with the quarterback
rating thing as well, So I'll just sure put that
in the same pile. Meanwhile, going up the all time lists,
Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford. They've been around for a while,
but Aaron Rodgers after the two TD passes today, that's
five ten for his career in the regular season, passing
(01:18:23):
Brett Favre, fourthmost in NFL history now and he's overswell
over sixty thousand yards passing. He passed Philip Rivers on
that list. In the top ten today, Matthew Stafford the
Rams two touchdown passes, He's up to three eighty two.
He's in the top ten all time. He passed Matt Ryan. Carolina,
a team in its first two games had never led,
(01:18:44):
and they shut out Atlanta today thirty to nothing. Michael
Pennix through two picks and Clay picks. He was great
Indianapolis three and oh. After the forty one to twenty
win at Tennessee Titans zero and three. Jonathan Taylor, who
you mentioned earlier in the show, three touchdown runs one
hundred two yards rushing, Colts were up twenty seven to
six in the third quarter. The backup running back at Minnesota,
(01:19:07):
Jordan Mason, on sixteen carries, had one hundred and sixteen
yards and two scores. Running Back Aaron Jones is on
ir JJ McCarthy's out with the bad ankle, so Carson
Wentz had two touchdown passes for the Bengals, QB Jake
Browning one TD two interceptions. Joe Burrow had his toe
surgery on Friday, could miss three months. The Pittsburgh win
with Aaron Rodgers was twenty one fourteen at New England,
(01:19:29):
Rodgers through the game winner with just over two minutes
to go. Drake May had two touchdown passes, both to
tight end Hunter Henry, but two turnovers for him as
well was crazy and he was sacked five times. The
Las Vegas game, they were tied ten ten at Washington
late first half forty one twenty four Commanders. In fact,
they were up thirty four to ten after three quarters,
(01:19:49):
even though quarterback Jayden Daniels was out with the spring knee.
Marcus Mariota a late touchdown pass. He had a TD
run one fumble as well. Gino Smith three touchdown passes,
all to Tray Tucker, but Gino was sacked five times.
He did have two hundred and eighty nine yards passing
Trey Tucker eight catches, one hundred and forty five awesome.
Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
Unreal.
Speaker 8 (01:20:09):
Yeah, so the tight ends were not coming through, and
we had the one tight end injury also today. But
Tucker sure piled up the stats and in the was
it the Seattle game against New Orleans Chris Olave of
the Saints, and they had had precious little offense. Of course,
he was targeted fourteen times, had ten receptions ten receptions
for fifty seven yards as they lost forty four to
(01:20:32):
thirteen at Seattle, New Orleans with eleven penalties.
Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
Believe it isn't just a game, It's a once in

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
After week three, we know this, We're.
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Diving to it next with Ardi and Plank on Fox
Sports Radio, stick around wild Day in the NFL. Yes,
you had nine defensive or special teams touchdowns. I should
say nine defensive and special teams touchdowns. You had what
ended up being I mean, listen, I was watching a blowout,
(01:21:18):
so everything was just so. I was numbed everything else.
And then I started looking around and I realized, dang man,
there's some really good games going on around me. There
were seven NFL games a day featuring a game winning
score in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter.
De Seger's talked about this a lot tonight, but a reminder,
that's the most such games in a single gay a
(01:21:41):
day since the nineteen seventy merger, according to the Elia
Sports Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
Wow. Absolutely, it was a good day though. It was
a fun day of football, that's for sure. It really was.
Speaker 3 (01:21:51):
And I didn't think the Jets would end up being
in a position to potentially beat the Buccaneers in there.
They were thought the Eagles were done. Next thing, you know,
you look up and they win the game. And I
sure a seck didn't have the Browns beating the Packers.
I would imagine a lot of King of the Mountains
slash what do they call it, suriber pools.
Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
Yeah, a lot of people probably gone on that. But
we'll get to football in a bit.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Arnie. By the way, I want to just say something
because before we get the football, I just love the
way I jump on. And I'm not allowed. I was
going to lead you right into what you wanted me, but.
Speaker 4 (01:22:25):
I'm not allowed to use my credit card anymore because
I brought Jim Gaffigan tickets. You know, Jim Gaffigan, the comedian.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
But yeah, you still gamble incessantly, but you can't use
your credit card anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:22:35):
Well, let me tell you why I'm not allowed. Because
this you know this to be true. It happens on
the show every week. I gave away my Jim Gaffigan
tickets was my wife's out in town. He's up here
in Burlington, Vermont. The tickets I gave away were fraudulent.
Speaker 2 (01:22:52):
It's not your fault. Well, well, I ordered them.
Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
I ordered them, I guess from a fraudulent website or
something like that and gave it away. I totally felt
for it. I I'm like, geez, man, I'm such an idiot.
It didn't even have like the seat number, but had
the road number. I'm still not sure, but the venue
said they'd refund my money. But I didn't even see
it being charge on my credit card. So I can't
(01:23:17):
believe I fell for something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
Man, So you you didn't get charged for the tickets,
but you ended up with the tickets.
Speaker 4 (01:23:23):
I yeah, and well I thought they were real tickets.
I guess they were fraudulents. I would have to call
my credit card company tomorrow and make sure there wasn't.
I tricked once and they said there was no charge,
so maybe they just didn't charge me.
Speaker 2 (01:23:36):
I guess I don't know where did you buy them?
Did you buy them on Facebook? I had no.
Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
I'm on a website says buy Jim Gaffigan tickets.
Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Man, So I bought Jim.
Speaker 4 (01:23:45):
You know what's really going to bother me is you
know Arizona is playing Connecticut and to get a good
seat in the lower bowl, it's like five hundred dollars.
Speaker 3 (01:23:55):
Well, make sure you don't click on the wrong link.
And so you don't buy it, but.
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
I don't want to spend five hundred dollars for a
lower seat ticket. Did you get a press pass?
Speaker 1 (01:24:03):
Did no?
Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Wait a minte?
Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
Hold on, there is a follow up the people that
you either gave Did you give people these tickets or
did you sell them to them?
Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
I gave it to them. I just gave it to them.
So did they just get shut down to the door
or what? Yeah? I was hoping they'd get arrested. That'd
be kind of a funny story withn't that or what? Well, No,
that'd be terrible. You're an awful person if that's what
you would be rooting for for these people to get
their tickets.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
So they didn't. There wasn't any mercy here or anything.
Were like, hey, it's okay. There's probably plenty of seats
empty for Jim gaff I mean, does he sell out?
Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
I have no idea. No, he does very well. He's okay, Yeah.
I saw him in Boston, actually went down there to
go say. He's very funny. He's oh. No, don't get
me wrong, I like him.
Speaker 3 (01:24:40):
It's just I mean, how many times can we hear
the trip to Disney in the hot pockets joke. Is
every material out there or not? I mean, what do
we have with Jim Gaffigan here? Does he do crowd work?
Speaker 4 (01:24:49):
Yeah, no, he doesn't do crowd work. He jokes, but no,
he's good. I liked him, I said, you know, I
already saw Matt raife. So but unfortunately I can't believe
I felt for the old fake website.
Speaker 3 (01:25:01):
And but how in the world could you ever fall
for anything fake? I don't know how in the world
that would ever happen at all. Shit, every week we fall.
Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
I fall for the fake Twitter account, So why should
a fake website any different?
Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
I don't know if you can catch the sarcasm in
my voice. I'm surprised that you would have you get
fooled on any of those right now. I'm shocked you
haven't fallen from like a fake gambling thing or something
of that nature. That's where my one of those hey
get you know, one hundred dollars free player or something.
I'm surprised at fall for that exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:25:32):
Yeah. So that's why I'm going to go to the
OTV when I moved down to Connecticut. That's what I'm
gonna go.
Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
I would put the odds even if the OTV was
across the street. I'm just telling you right now, is
my wife would My wife would fight me, so I
could never go.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
I don't think you're going to get a free pass
to go over there as much as you want. Well,
I don't have to tell my wife that I'm going
over there, you know, husband, do you want to risk that?
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:25:57):
Well, you know what did I do today?
Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
When walking around passed by the OTB went in there
and place to bet you know, we see what happened there.
Speaker 3 (01:26:06):
Douglas did ask because this was a while back, and
maybe we should follow up. I missed you were moving?
Why in what part of Connecticut? My wife got transferred.
So we're moving to in the Milford area, right near
Dan Patrick. Because everybody knows Dan and I are are
very pretty tight. Yeah, why, I met him once.
Speaker 2 (01:26:26):
So so the wife got transferred. So you're just out
even though you're still in Vermont right now, right right right,
I'm still in Vermont. I'm gonna be moving down two
weeks from tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (01:26:36):
I'm nervous about taking my computer dow there and making
sure my equipment works. I hope I can just plug
everything in and everything's gonna work.
Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
Okay, it's usually how it works out.
Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
I think you're gonna be okay if you're not ever
being the biggest surprise ever. Let's hit some tweets before
we find out what we learn and what we know
after week three. Yeah, James points this out here, writes Arnie,
you should be happy next week for your Dolphins they
play the Jets.
Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
Yeah, you saw that, buddy, he's gotta win game.
Speaker 4 (01:27:01):
You know, had the Dolphins been one and two and
they're playing the Jets to go two and two and
maybe you still have some type of season. But at
oen three and you're the Sega give the stats. There's
no help here. There's there's no hope that they're gonna
go ahead and make a playoff run or anything like that. Yeah,
I would like to win, but I'm not even The Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
Actually a two and a half point favorite in that game.
Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
Too, they should be. I think the Jets are worse
than they are. You guys had the bills. You had them.
If you don't run into a punter, I mean literally,
you were gonna get the football back and you still
had a chance to go out and tie the game.
Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
And he throws the pick.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
I mean It's not like they were physically dominated or
anything like.
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Yeah, but they just played some good games. The Jet's
could have won today, they had that skick. But the
Jets had no business being in that game.
Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
Well they were a lot, right, Yeah, to come on back,
and what was the game in the first game. But
when they played Pittsburgh and that was game Yeah, that
was a good game also. So they're on the verge
right there, breaking and.
Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
Then mister nobody on the Atlanta Falcons. Right.
Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
So the problem with the Falcons is Arthur Blank. He's
fired Mike Smith, he fired the meat Trough, he fired
Dan Quinn, and he keeps replacing the coaching staff and
they still suck.
Speaker 4 (01:28:14):
Yeah, I'm disappointed with them right now. If there's a
disappointment after three weeks, they really have to be up
there on the list. I'm starting to scratch my head
about Pennix Junior. Maybe he's not as great as everybody's
advertising him, you know what I mean. I thought this
guy was gonna be all everything.
Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
I know it's early, but let's see what he's gonna
Let's see what he's gonna do for them.
Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
Just remember the Falcons aren't sitting there as an OH
to three team. They are a one to two team,
and they beat the Vikings when they had the greatest
quarterback ever in JJ McCarthy just last week.
Speaker 2 (01:28:46):
So they played tight with the Bucks. They did get
smoked today.
Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
They got They got worked today by the Carolina Panthers.
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
That was uncommon and surprising. But I'm gonna smoke anybody.
Que Carol didn't smoke any I.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
Mean, my gosh, they just looked amazing throughout and then
one other here real quick. Colin writes, I'm a Packers fan.
Can you guys quit reminding me about today? Saying the
Packers got flackoed is about all I can handle without
going full Spaniard sports emo.
Speaker 2 (01:29:15):
I mean he'd be like really sad and depressed. Yeah.
I didn't see that game so poorly for the Packers.
I didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:29:21):
I didn't see that coming to all. I knew it
was gonna be a little bit tougher and then a nothing.
We did that game and they let that slip away
to the Browns. That never happens to the Browns.
Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
Do you want to hear our man Andrew Siciliano, Oh
the game? When he call let me hear Andrew? I kiss.
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
By the way, For those that aren't familiar, Andrew Sicilian
a former Red Zone former Fox Sports Radio evenings.
Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
That's right here on the morning host.
Speaker 3 (01:29:46):
Uh well, he did evenings and Morton. Come on, dude,
listen man, I was a program director.
Speaker 2 (01:29:51):
Oh he did.
Speaker 3 (01:29:51):
He did early afternoons with Crystal Fernandez, and then they
moved him to mornings with Tony Bruno.
Speaker 2 (01:29:56):
Come on, man, my bad. You're usually the one that
knows everything around here. I wasn't around that when these guys.
You know, I'm a fairly new hire here, fairly so.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
Here's what it sounded like on the Cleveland Browns radio network.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
Andre Schmidt for the win from fifty five yards out.
Two seconds back is back, kick is off, and the
kick is right down right there. The pug free base
bays tipping base by baback. They threw the flag for
(01:30:32):
the dude's tossing their helmets. What are you going to do?
NFL play by play?
Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
I got to college play by play first before I
can get an NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:30:39):
That's on college play by play avenue. I did one game.
I did one game. We got a long way to
go here.
Speaker 3 (01:30:45):
I'm counting on Jason Horowitz getting hired by network and
sliding in for the Raiders. That's my that's my only
goal right now. I will say this much though. Uh,
there were some money calls today. There were. We've got
a few more. I want to fit in later on.
You did trip, did you not?
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
I did? I did because your boy was all mad
at me about it up in Vermont. But yeah, it
was good. I thought, Hey, I thought this.
Speaker 3 (01:31:07):
Speaking of great calls, Yeah, how about our guy Matt
Muney Smith with a call on the Chargers radio network
with the Sager sitting right.
Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
There by him to make sure all was right with
the world? Snap, good hold, good kicks, dude.
Speaker 8 (01:31:22):
Damn tickers.
Speaker 2 (01:31:25):
The kicker.
Speaker 5 (01:31:27):
Secures victory as the Charger start the season three and zero,
knocking off each of.
Speaker 6 (01:31:33):
Their AFC West Division fos in the process.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Yeah, how about that.
Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
They open the season with the Chiefs in Brazil, then
they go to Vegas and they finally get a home
game and it's against the Broncos. Like all three division
foes in the first three weeks of the season. That's wild.
Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
I know, I thought they usually division FoSER Later on,
I didn't. I didn't think they play that many games
against the vision early in the season, though, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
Think listen, I don't want to get two carried away here.
I've never seen this before, but I don't think I've
ever seen anything like that before.
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
Yeah, you are the scheduled guru on that.
Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
I'm supposed to be, But I'm failing you miserably right now.
We'll get that Tampa final call. Well, actually, you know what,
there's one more? Do you do you want to hear
the Eagles on the Jordan Davis block here?
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
Real? That was a little guiding. Yeah, I think that
was gonna be a perfect Here we go fucked.
Speaker 5 (01:32:24):
To the last though, the bullet spotted, the kicks away.
Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
It's blocked, it's puked up by the Eagles. Well they
read it. It is Davis thirty twenty ten. Fine Tux down,
Dave over for Davis? Are you trinking man? Look to
my gun? Are you trick long to my gun? Happy?
Levels seen anything like this? Do you believe in miracles?
(01:32:49):
But what are standing? Silent? They can't believe what just
happened to them?
Speaker 5 (01:32:55):
Successful field goal blocks winning for the Eagles. What a great,
great game, what a great great comebuck And the final
score it's thirty three to twenty six.
Speaker 2 (01:33:09):
Yeah, I really had no business winning that game. When
he blocked it, he should have said, ed, boom goes
the dynamite. Look at him. Go tone one more in there,
just to try to make it even Boo was a
good one. Yeah, come on, man, all right, well, while
we're out of here, let's get the other game. You
need to say that when you do the softball and boom,
ed boom goes the dynamite from that kid, Remember that
(01:33:30):
kid that.
Speaker 3 (01:33:30):
Said, oh yeah, ball state, I remember it all right.
Here is the uh, here's the Tampa Bay game winner, field.
Speaker 6 (01:33:35):
Goal dead in the middle of the field from thirty
six yards out. Snap is down, kick is on the way,
kick is gold, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are three
at all.
Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
Well, the first time since two thousand and five. Hey,
go Bucks Radio NTE. Where's that Gene Deckerhoff?
Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Where's Gene Deckerhoff at There are some of the great
finishes we had today courtesy of let's see we have
Crowns Radio.
Speaker 8 (01:34:00):
Networks that sounded like TJ Reeves another Fox Sports Radio alone.
Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
Oh my goodness, mister Saturday night, did GJ.
Speaker 2 (01:34:10):
Reeves get to do the play by play? I wonder
if Gene wasn't.
Speaker 8 (01:34:13):
He's been working Bucks for a long time. He as
he used to see your sideline guy. He used to
be the host of the John Gruden Show when he
was Bucks coach ages ago. And by the way, the
answer to actually playing division opponents to start your season
and winning all three games to start your season, it
has happened twice before since they realigned the divisions over time.
(01:34:36):
It is rare, but not unprecedented.
Speaker 2 (01:34:38):
Segren't you tell me before the show that Dune play
by play is really easy? It's not tough? No, you sure?
Speaker 8 (01:34:45):
I'm pretty certain? Nice, Okay, I would never have thought
that much like I said that. Of course, you would
have both thought and said.
Speaker 2 (01:34:53):
Everything is easy to already. I didn't say, why are
you blaming me?
Speaker 8 (01:34:58):
I thought it was that said that it's easy for
Arnie because he never leaves his house.
Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
That's right, that's right. He never leaves his house. He
never calls any games, so it's super easy. So there
are some of the highlights of the day. Let's give
credit where credit is due, thanks to the Cleveland Browns
Radio network, the Chargers Radio network that was the Eagles
radio network, and of course with a wrap on the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Radio Network.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
All right, let's get a break in here.
Speaker 3 (01:35:19):
When we come back, we'll dive into week three and
a time on our tradition.
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
After week three, we.
Speaker 3 (01:35:27):
Know this everything that we've taken away and how it
might affect the rest of the season. But first, we're
going to remind you about the Harlem Globetrotters. It's a
once in a generation event. The Globetrotters one hundred year Tour.
Come be a part of a legacy that never stops.
Be there when history is made. The Harlem Globetrotter is
one hundred year Tour. Get your tickets today at Harlem
Globetrotters dot com.
Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
After week three, we know this next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:35:50):
By the way, on the injury front, terrible news today
for the Cardinals and James cor Oh Jeezy put him
in the air cast fractured ankle.
Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Not looking good. Do we know about now?
Speaker 3 (01:36:04):
I know Mac Jones started the last two games, but
brock perty expected back next week.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
I thought he was gonna play a little bit this week,
so I assume that he's gonna be back next week.
I was right about one thing that I that I
said before the start of the year, Chris, and it
actually came true with Jade and Daniels who they said,
if it was a playoff game, you could play. But
let's sit about early in the year. Your starting quarterback
(01:36:28):
now is a fifteen to sixteen game starter, and you're
gonna need your backup to start when it becomes eighteen games.
A game or two after that, the starting eighteen games
is just not going to happen, and it's gonna go
by the wayside that you're.
Speaker 3 (01:36:44):
Gonna I still disagree, man, you don't pay him all
that money. I understand what Jane Daniels that they didn't
want to risk it today, right, but I think it
was a different if it was a playoff game. But
I mean, that's just like a completely different world. You're
not gonna pay him all that money to say, yeah,
we're gonna give them some time off, just let him
rest out.
Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
No, But I said, when you have a lesser opponent
that you think you could win. They were bringing that
up in one of the pregame shows and it was
the Raiders. If now, if it was a better team,
I don't know, maybe they're playing Baltimore or something. Maybe
he would have played, I don't know, but they felt
that they could win without him in this game, so
they went and took the chance.
Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
Well, they made sure to let Marcus Mariota look like
a rock star. So I'm shuitting Mariota and Wins are
probably gonna get paid for what the Bengals and Raiders
did for those two guys today. All right, well, let's
get into it. After a week three in the National
Football League, I know this.
Speaker 2 (01:37:33):
Where do you want to start?
Speaker 4 (01:37:34):
Oh my goodness, there's so many places to start after
week three?
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
I know this.
Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
Maybe Pittsburgh is a little bit better than that game.
Credit for not that the Patriots are world beaters, but
maybe Brett Farv can go ahead and maybe, you know,
take him to a playoff run. At first, I'm like, Dad,
it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
He's too old. He's not gonna get it done. They're
just gonna go ahead and sack them all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:37:55):
They're better than I thought at two and one, and
maybe they will make a playoff run. I'm curious to
see what kind of numbers he puts up this year. Rogers,
But they're not as bad as I thought. They were
gonna be there, Chris.
Speaker 3 (01:38:07):
I wonder who was called a moron and an idiot
and they don't know football for saying they thought the
Steelers might be good this season.
Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
Oh I still they call you that later on, But
anyone know who that might be? I wonder why after
week three? I know this, they're still not dead. You
guys can dog the Chiefs all you want. In fact, Arnie,
I I saw your roman numeral Rundown where was like
chief stink before the game was even over. I saw
someone texting in on the on the tweets tonight that
(01:38:34):
where Travis Kelcey should just retire. It didn't look pretty.
But what do they do?
Speaker 4 (01:38:39):
It is over for Travis Kelcey. Yeah, why do you
think it's over for him? This should be his last year.
You could see the decline from last.
Speaker 2 (01:38:47):
Year this year. This should be it. You should just
go ahead and retire after this year. You just wanted
to quit. Now get out of here, Travis Kelcey, You're done.
He's got a busy life ahead of him.
Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
So you know, tonight for Kelsey four ken is twenty
six yards six point five per and a little sideline
blow up with.
Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
One Andy Raid who saw that?
Speaker 3 (01:39:06):
Yeah, who said, Hey, we needed a little fire over here.
So y'all can keep bearing them. You can keep building
up the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
They deserve it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:14):
But I've seen this play before. I know how this
thing ends. This might be the eighth sequel that we see.
But Jason voidhe'es always survived somehow, So it's just you
can do this. So that's after week three. Keep bearing
the Chiefs and they're going to keep proving you wrong.
And it's something that I wish you all would stop
doing after week three.
Speaker 4 (01:39:32):
I know this, and it really pains me to say
this because if I was going to be wrong, I
didn't think i'd be wrong so quickly about this team. Dan,
the Colts look good, and I thought that we're going
to be the worst team in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
Chris Day just look like a playoff team right now.
Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
Daniel Jones looks like a quarterback that I don't know
half the league would want to have it as a
as a started quarterback.
Speaker 2 (01:40:00):
Orders of the league.
Speaker 4 (01:40:01):
It's amazing the transformation he has made from the Giants
to the Colts. And it wasn't like the Colts we
running better of a team than the Giants. And what
they've put around them. He just looks phenomenal. I guess
he just needed a little.
Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
Bit more time or what.
Speaker 4 (01:40:17):
But he shows that he should be a starting quarterback
in the NFL. There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (01:40:22):
Yes, And I wonder too today, which after week three?
I know this a lot of teams that have quarterback questions.
I mean Tyrod Taylor started for the Jets for goodness
sakes today, but I mean two guys, and again, Carson
Wentz did and have some three hundred yard day or anything.
I mean, the Vikings defense scored two touchdowns, but he
still looked pretty good. Yes, yea, And I watched all
(01:40:44):
four quarters because I like paying of Marcus Mariota, and
he looked pretty good. I wonder if now again Mariota
is going to go back to back up whenever Jane
Daniels is healthy, and I assume that will happen whenever
JJ McCarthy gets healthy. Maybe we're starting to get a
few more candidates for guys that you know might get
another shot.
Speaker 2 (01:41:05):
I don't know. Carson Wentz has had a lot of shots, aren'tie.
Speaker 3 (01:41:08):
I don't know if there's gonna be another opportunity for
him to be a starting quarterback in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:41:12):
But Sam Darnold had a lot of shots.
Speaker 3 (01:41:15):
Baker Mayfield had a lot of shots before he finally
found his home in Tampa. So maybe we're seeing two
guys and what we got what we got today from
Carson and maybe throw a third in there, right Mac Jones,
he led him to a win. He didn't look great,
but he didn't look awful and found a way. So
I'm wondering if after three weeks we're seeing some players,
some quarterbacks specifically, then might be earning themselves another opportunity.
Speaker 4 (01:41:38):
I want to see how many quarterbacks is going to
make every start this year? I certainly is going to
think less than half? All right, after three less than half?
Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
Yeah? Wow? Why is that? Is that a lot? You
see big number, that's a big number.
Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
That'd be like seventeen to eighteen quarterbacks that didn't play
in every game. Now again, you got throw in the
final week of the season whenever, right, that just the
natural sit. But you're counting on injuries here that would
take him out, right.
Speaker 4 (01:42:05):
Injuries or they're just holding them out just like you
know what, you're not one hundred percent.
Speaker 3 (01:42:10):
Your seventy five Yeals was injured, right, You keep acting
like he could have he didn't go.
Speaker 2 (01:42:15):
They called him out on Wednesday. He practiced on Wednesday, actually,
and they immediately ruled him out only because they didn't
want to chance him against the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (01:42:25):
Gosh, I don't think that was the reason why they
didn't play him. If he could go, he's gonna go.
He could have gone if it was a playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:42:31):
Game, right, but then you're gonna have seventy five percent
of Jane Daniels in a playoff game. That would be
better than Marcus Mariota in their eyes. I don't know
about that. They look pretty good with Marcus Mariota. Right.
Speaker 3 (01:42:42):
But this idea that you just think guys are gonna
get rested for oh, well, he doesn't feel good, he's
gonna get ready.
Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
They do that. They've been doing that for years.
Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
But the idea that they're like, oh, it's a seventeen
game season, now, we're gonna be fine with that.
Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
Three weeks. We're three weeks sitting off. How many teams
have used two quarterbacks already because they're the god guys
that are hurt. JJ McCarthy's hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:43:03):
Bac Jones is in because brock Purty is hurt, not
because like, oh, it's a long season, we're gonna rest
our guys they're injured.
Speaker 2 (01:43:10):
Well, you know, here's a time where we protect the
quarterback too. You can't throw your weight on top of them.
You know, if you're in the grass, we'll blow the whistle.
We do everything to protect them, but it seems like
the injuries are getting more and more by the by
as the week goes on.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
I don't know if we can protect him more. I mean,
I'm just being serious. I don't know if you could
protect him more. You got any more? I got two more? Like,
go ahead, let me hear which guy. After Week three,
I know this. I still can't believe the Browns won
that game. And I still can't believe that the Packers
were only a seven point favorite. In fact, I think
it actually moved up to eight and a half before kickoff.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
Wow, but Arnie, you are the true kiss of death.
Speaker 3 (01:43:49):
As soon as you jump on the Packers bandwagon, they
immediately lose to a Browns team one a day when
they committed fourteen freaking penalties, A.
Speaker 4 (01:43:57):
Bad Browns team who could have been like one of
the bottom five in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:44:00):
And then after Week three, I know this, boy, the
Saints are bad, and I knew right on that. I
knew what it was gonna be a tough situation, and
I think this is probably what this franchise needs. If
Derek Carr played this would I don't know that they've
got to win yet this year, but it's not the
worst team in the NFL. He's going to back you
into five or six wins and then you're gonna be
(01:44:21):
in the middle of the first round. They might I
don't think they're gonna go winless, but they might be
fighting the Dolphins for the top pick in the draft.
Speaker 4 (01:44:29):
Is there any value in the Saints drafting arch Manning
because of his because of Archie playing there or no?
Speaker 2 (01:44:37):
Have you watched college football the last night?
Speaker 4 (01:44:39):
Well, I just one, I know, I know, but I'm
just wondering if there's any value in name because his
grandfather played there.
Speaker 3 (01:44:45):
I'm looking right now at the most recent updated mock
drafts that are out there. Yeah, and I don't even
see arch Manning projecting in the first two rounds of
the draft.
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
Oh cat Oti, that's crazy. Well again, he was projected
of number one overall. I take at one point was
he either, But they did.
Speaker 3 (01:45:01):
That was Spencer Rattler in twenty twenty. And they've done
that with guys like a Darius Bowman who was a
receiver at Oklahoma State. That is just they're not only
just because his last name is Manning doesn't mean he's good. Yeah, already,
go ahead, Hey, if you want the Saints misery to continue, good, Yeah,
draft Manning because of his last name.
Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
But is his last name man Come on? His grandfather
played there.
Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
Steve Desager comes rolling in with a well, look into
everything that's gone down in the sports world today.
Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
What's going on? Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:45:27):
You mentioned the Green Bay Packers. They had fourteen penalties
in the loss at Cleveland. The lead was three nothing
Packers late in the third quarter, it was ten nothing
with four minutes to go. They still lost. Josh Jacobs
sixteen carries thirty yards rushing in this one. Cleveland with
a fifty five yard field goal as time expired, wins
(01:45:48):
thirteen to ten. The Browns had blocked a forty three
yard attempt with about thirty seconds left, and rookie quin
Shawn Judkins had almost every carry for the Browns in
this One's good eighteen carries, ninety four yards and a
touchdown three and OH record for Tampa Bay after a
field goal on the final play beat the Jets twenty

they had taken the lead with under two minutes left

on a block field goal return for a score. Jacksonville
sent Houston to oh to three seventeen to ten to
the final on a touchdown run with under two minutes left.
Texans committed three turnovers Washington over Vegas forty one twenty four,
although Genio Smith had three touchdown passes to Trey Tucker.
Pittsburgh twenty one fourteen winners at New England two td

against Cincinnati. Jordan Mason on sixteen carries, had one hundred
and sixteen yards and two scores as Aaron Jones is
on IR three and OH record for the Colts after
winning forty one twenty at Tennessee Titans er zho to three,
Carolina shout out Atlanta thirty to nothing Monday night Detroit
(01:46:52):
at Baltimore. As for the late afternoon games today. Oh,
don't forget the Philadelphia comeback. They were down to the
Rams twenty six to seven in the third quarter and
beat La thirty three twenty six. The Eagles block two
field goal attempts, including a forty four yarder at the
end in the loss. Pucindakua eleven receptions one hundred twelve yards.
Now to the late afternoon game Saints ro and three.
(01:47:15):
They were down thirty eight three at Seattle before halftime
forty four to thirteen Seahawks. The final Saints committed eleven penalties.
Chicago thirty one fourteen over Dallas. That game was fourteen
fourteen mid second quarter for Dallas, wide receiver Ced Land
left with an ankle injury. Tight End Jake Ferguson at
thirteen catches eighty two yards, but Caleb Williams in victory
(01:47:36):
four touchdown passes two hundred and ninety eight yards, passing
San Francisco's three to oh After edging Arizona sixteen to
fifteen on a field goal on the final play, Eddie
Pinero went three for three on field goals. He'd made
a fifty one yarder just before halftime. Ricky pearsall eight
catches one hundred seventeen yards. Christian McCaffrey had ten receptions
for eighty eight yards. Defensive lineman Nick Bosa the forty Niners,
(01:48:00):
left with the knee injury. This game was six to
six early fourth quarter only field goals. Niners win on
a field goal at the end. This Arizona had taken
the lead on a safety with about three minutes left.
Cardinals quarter running back James Connor is out for the
year severe ankle injury. Chargers three to zero after beating
Denver twenty three to twenty on a field goal on
(01:48:20):
the final play. Chargers scored ten points in the last
three minutes. Justin Herbert had a great game three hundred
yards passing, even though he was sacked five times and
hit fourteen times. He somehow came up with the tying
TD toss in the final minutes. Running back for the Chargers,
Najie Harris, the former Steelers, suffered an apparent torn achilles.
Speaker 2 (01:48:41):
JK.
Speaker 8 (01:48:41):
Dobbins, who was a Charger last year, wanted to have
a good game in La today and did on eleven
carries eighty three yards at a score. In fact, on
one drive it was a three play scoring drive. He
had all three carries sixty six yards and then marched
right down the field. The Chargers don't have wide receiver
Mike Williams because of the retire before the season. Quintin
Johnson has been surprisingly good so far. At one point
(01:49:04):
early he had five catches seventy seven yards. Denver as
a team had only four receptions at that point. Tonight
not much of a game in Yes, Kansas City did
get in the win column though, twenty two to nine
at the Giants, who were rolling three. Giants will host
the Chargers next weekend. Harrison Butker with three field goals
in the first half. Chiefs wide out Xavier Worthy was
out again with the bad shoulder. Syracuse quarterback Steve Vangelly
(01:49:27):
is out for the year, reportedly with the torn achilles.
NASCAR win at New Hampshire for Ryan Blaney as the
WNBA opened the semifinals victories for Indiana and Minnesota. The
final week of the baseball season is upon US. It
ends next Sunday and all the games will start at
the same time about three pm Eastern time. Seattle had
an incredible weekend, their first in the AL West. They
(01:49:49):
just won their third straight at Houston seven to three. Tonight,
got seven runs in the second inning, so it's a
three game lead over the Stros. Cal Rowley hit his
fifty eighth home run of the season. Yankees won in
ten innings, but Toronto won and the Blue Jays have
clinched at least a playoff spot. They are still first
in the AL East, two games over the Yankees, and
what a battle in the AL Central. Now Tiger's still
(01:50:11):
a game up on the Guardians. Detroit lost at sixth
in a row. Cleveland finally lost a game. They had
won ten straight. Detroit has lost nine of ten. They'll
be playing at Cleveland starting on Tuesday. Mets lost at home.
The Reds won at home. Reds have won five straight.
They now own the last NL wildcard because they have
the tiebreaker over the Mets. Milwaukee clinch the NL Central title.
(01:50:33):
They could finish as the number one overall seed Arizona
and San Francisco with wins Padres as well.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Back to you, thanks Steve, have a great week with
awesome as always. A couple of tweets before we ARTI
spreags Farv, Yes you did we just sletch cook Sean Wright,
I told Arnie and you guys four years ago that
there was a five year plan for my Titans. Well
I have to amend that statement. It's now a seven
(01:51:00):
year plan for the Titans. That's from Shady Shaw.
Speaker 2 (01:51:02):
Unfortunately, they've been miserable. It is miserable being a Titans fan.
I bet and and you know Kim Ward is fun,
but he's got no help none whatsoever. We had.
Speaker 3 (01:51:12):
I mentioned this a lot. Nick writes, Dabo is Donzo
ov eer. Johnny Clemson might be looking for a new
coach real soon. I will say that I did get
a kick out of Dabbo just coming out last week
and like, hey, you don't lack winning, you guys can
fire me. I mean, I'm just learning how to be
a head coach. I'm fifty five. Who's the most classic
(01:51:33):
Dabbo thing ever?
Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:51:34):
I know he made the playoffs last year, but I am,
for some reason, just feeling the heat that's coming on
this guy.
Speaker 2 (01:51:41):
I don't think he's going to be back. I think
it's like fifty to fifty right now that day.
Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
Where do you think the heat's come? Just out of curiosity?
You say the heat that's coming on.
Speaker 2 (01:51:49):
His ar, I think it's the lunatic fringe.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
Well, I haven't seen anything written about his job status.
I haven't seen anything talked about that he should be fired.
It up to be exactly, he's the one that brought
it up, like out of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (01:52:05):
It's like, what are you talking about? Didn't you go
on to tyrad last year too? Or not last year
or earlier in the year. He goes on a tyrade
every year. It's kind of it's kind of become his thing.
Speaker 3 (01:52:15):
Late night Drug Tester rights after week three, I couldn't
name a lock to make the AFC title game right now?
Who would you call a By the way, good use
of Morty Smith on the gift as well, Late night
drug Tester, that'll always get your red.
Speaker 2 (01:52:30):
Who would you say? Buffalo Chargers look pretty good? They do?
Buffalo number one, Chargers number two? Okay, fair enough, that's it.
I mean, but Cincinnati doesn't have a quarterback. That's sure.
You can forget about them.
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
And could you believe that maybe Indianapolis would be after that?
Speaker 2 (01:52:46):
That's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Colin Wrights a new season in the Packers special teams
are yet again a mess, But today I literally can't
complain about it at all. John Wrights Arnie, who is
your new Super Bowl aka kiss of Death? Also, if
the refs were going to call the game tighter, then
where were the tush push foul start calls in the
Philly Rams game?
Speaker 4 (01:53:08):
Why did I already get the kiss of death of
the Packers? Was they lost one game?
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
I mean they did lose to the Browns, so that's
like losing three. Well, they're still in the first place
of the division. Are you still picking them for the
Super Bowl? Oh? Yeah, Greg, Green Bay and Buffalo where
it was my two picks? Uh, mister nobody.
Speaker 3 (01:53:25):
As a Raiders fan, the chief struggling is an insult
to us because it's a reminder of how incompetent Mark
Davis is.
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
If he'd put together.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
At least a competent team, they'd be at worst a
contender for wild card spot this year.
Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
You're not going to be a good team. Nope, Nope,
not at all.
Speaker 3 (01:53:44):
In fact, Britain adds, I thought the Raiders motto is
commitment to excellence. I was grossly mistaken these past twenty
three twenty three years, because based on their utter stupidity,
particularly on defense over that span, you'd think their motto
is commitment to scremmints.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
It's that wow. Is it just win baby? Or just
stay close baby.
Speaker 3 (01:54:04):
It's not even just stay close, it's just don't get embarrassed, baby.
Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
Truck stop fungus.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Great Twitter handle the Packers losing since they were so
cocky getting Parsons to where they believe they were going
to go undefeated. Uh Tennis data the top quarterback worth
the money. The dumpster fire that was the Bengals proves it.
Herbert's final drive for the Chargers cements it, and a
(01:54:33):
great day of college football. Plank can wear the red
with pride Oregon setting up for a huge game in
primetime next.
Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
Week against Penn State. That's gonna be rocking. And you
have some big games after the ken State game. You
got the Texas game coming. We gotta you Texas down
in Dallas. Is that your favorite game? Is that what
you have the most? That's the best, It's the best.
Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
I go down into my man Mustang Manius territory down
there in Dallas. Fight your stupid traffic cheese people. It's
like you're all trying to go to the same place
at the same time. You go eat at the fair,
of course, go.
Speaker 2 (01:55:02):
Eat at the fair.
Speaker 3 (01:55:03):
Well, come on, man, I mean healthy now, but I'll
allow a cheat day for the fair.
Speaker 2 (01:55:08):
I'll get those Friday every Friday. Tweezy fright, Coca Cola
Oreo's all good, but yeah, it's coming up. We got
two weeks though, we got gosh. I wish they would
get that off the neutral side game. I know, no,
it's amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:55:20):
And then Victor writes, Arnie, I'm making a one eighty
on the Texans.
Speaker 2 (01:55:23):
It's O V e R for the Texans.
Speaker 4 (01:55:27):
I can see that, you know, I can see people
saying I'm doing a one eighty on the Texans.
Speaker 2 (01:55:31):
I'm done with them. And they were wrong on that
on them.
Speaker 4 (01:55:35):
I thought the Texans were gonna win that division or
was it Jacksonville. I thought I thought the Texans were
going to be good this year. I mean, right now,
all and three, like you said, they're not going to
make the playoffs. It's already a lost year after three games.
Speaker 3 (01:55:48):
All right, when we come back, Arnie's picture next right
here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, great job tonight
by the legend Mary Mack running the show and the
ones and twos, Patrick sweek of producer up the program,
hooking us up with Todd Furman, Steve de Seger awesome
on updates, and the millions and millions of editors behind
the scenes putting together all the great highlights. As we
(01:56:11):
get set to hand it off to Big Ben mallor
who takes you through the night, I do want to

Harlem Globetrotters. It's a once in a generation event, the
Harlem Globetrotters one hundred Year Tour. Come be a part

(01:56:32):
stinky genius, take it away with your picks.
Speaker 2 (01:56:34):
What you got?
Speaker 4 (01:56:35):
Oh boy, let's start in college. And I've been waiting
for this game. Not for just this week, Chris, not
for just this year. I've been waiting for this game
since I went to the University of Arizona back in
nineteen eighty two.
Speaker 2 (01:56:50):
Okay, it's a long way. A win over.
Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
Iowa State Community College will pretty much wrap up the
Big twelve for us and put us into the playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
Will you be one to zero in the conference.
Speaker 4 (01:57:03):
Yes, not another game, Not another game on that list
we're going to lose. Not another We don't even play
a ranked team other than BYU, and they can't get
out of their way. We should easily run the table
after this Iowa State Community College thing, no doubt in
(01:57:26):
my mind. I saw the Madden Final. We dominated them.
We dominated them. Chris, I was watching the Madden Game
like it was the Super Bowl. Okay, Dad, Arizona up
thirty eight thirteen, Arizona wins it, thirty eight twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Take the points.
Speaker 4 (01:57:47):
You don't want the six and a half or seven,
you don't need the seven. Take the seven upset special.
Arizona to beat Iowa State Community College thirty eight to
twenty now will pretty much that puts us.
Speaker 2 (01:58:05):
Winning the Big twelve. Chris, you can about that well?
I mean, you really burying a team that's ranked in
the top fifteen.
Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
That.
Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
Oh, if you score, If you score thirty eight points
on Iowa State this weekend, I'll on the air cut
both my arms off.
Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Okay, get the producer to bring shape. I have our
producer bring a chainsaw. Please, Yeah, there you go. All right,
let me get to some other games real quickly.
Speaker 4 (01:58:31):
I'm gonna take Georgia minus three and a half against Allababo.
That's a hell of a game coming in under the radar.
Can't wait to see how that one goes. I'll take
A and M minus six and half against Auburn. Give
me Mississippi minus one and a half against LSU. I'm
gonna take Arkansas after that loss and take the five
and a half against Notre Dame. They're really begging you
to take the Irish and give me usc minus six
and a half against Illinois. Let me get to the NFL.
(01:58:53):
I like Minnesota Pittsburgh over forty one and a half.
That's a low number there, Chris, And sooner or later
you're gonna have to side. Do you like the Saints
or you don't like the Saints? Chris, big number? Year,
What do you think the Bill Saints line is?
Speaker 2 (01:59:07):
I think I saw it already, so I was cheating.
What's it like? Okay, thirteen fifteen and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:59:12):
Yeah, and guess what, I'm gonna take the Bills and
way the fifteen and a half. If it's anything like
we saw today, we'll see. Give me Baltimore minus two
and a half against Kansas City. Kansas City gonna go down
and there'll be one and three to start the year.
Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
Have you got CAC losing this week?
Speaker 4 (01:59:29):
Yeah, against Baltimore. It's in Baltimore. I mean it's in
Kansas City, but it's Baltimore. I'm gonna take Chicago, but
it's one and a half against sure Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:59:39):
And I'm gonna take Dallas plus the five and a
half against the Green Bay Packers. So there you have
my picks, two of them, as you please. No longer
strictly for entertainment purposes only Cole Wildcats. Good luck for
a long time before we get out of here, John Miller. Right.
Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
So, Arnie says that three and oh nine Ers have
no chance this season, using that Arnie curse or reverse
curse that means the Niners will be the home team
at the Super bowlar le By Stadium in Santa clair
Ou and then Vincent writes, after three weeks, here's what
I know. My Niners are three and oh for a reason,
and I was so glad he came back. Robert Sala
(02:00:19):
has been the reason that this team is three and oh.
Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
Arnie hats coordinators. By the way, Vincent he has done
a good job. I will say that he has another
good job.
Speaker 3 (02:00:26):
He has found a way to bail out Shanahan these
three games with the defense coming up huge, to give
them a chance.
Speaker 2 (02:00:33):
He's not wrong there, man.
Speaker 3 (02:00:35):
And I will say I can't get enough of that
stupid Aaron Glynn like strutwalk thing that he's did you
see that after the block Field go when.
Speaker 2 (02:00:42):
He was I don't know what it is Twitter account.
Speaker 3 (02:00:45):
I've seen it, and I've seen like twelve times during
the show tonight. But thank you guys all of that.
I'm here for Arnie. Have a great week. You can
enjoy it too. We'll see you guys back here next
Sunday Night. The recap Week four, Big Ben Malaries next
on Fox Bortarts Radio
