Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go. Let's let's go. What a good bounce back
day for the NFL. Yes, after what was a pretty
gross week last week. In fact, I think we even
tried to talk some NBA last week. It was so bad. Weeknight,
well you did. Week nine brought us some thrillers. We

(00:26):
had a two point conversion attempt by my beloved Raiders,
who have rippened my heart out.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yet that ripped my heart out when they missed.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Right. Uh, we have probably one of the wildest games
we've seen in a long time between the Bears and
the Bengals.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
I mean, I was on red zone for that. It
was amazing. It was amazing. I still can't.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Believe the Bears won the game. I can't believe the
Bengals blew it. Vikings.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Lions was good.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Panthers Packers was ugly. But still, you know, you get
an upset like that when I gotta be honest with you.
When I saw the record, I was a little bit
surprised that the Panthers were five and four.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
No, No, that's my Panthers, baby, I knew it. Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
That We're not stop. I mean, can you name like
anyone on their team.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Yeah, Tenero mcmillion.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah, the only Arizona guy.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
You know what I was gonna say to you, though,
The first thing I want to talk about is, I
know we do so much football, but I mean, how
can we pass up Game seven of what happened in
the World Series? What were you doing? Because you were
doing the Oklahoma games?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (01:30):
How were you keeping up with the score of the
Dodger game. I wasn't at all.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Nope, not at all.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
You could have easily looked on your phone.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Could have.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I didn't chose not why you did? Because I was
really into that game last night.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Okay, okay, so you it was nothing about like you
want to watch it and be supported. No.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Every so often we have a we have a couple
of people on the broadcast that during breaks talk a lot,
but they were given they were given updates on what
was going on. Like, uh, I think about the fourth
quarter that I call Dodgers down to their last because
it was three one for the longest time, right, Dodgers
down to their last out, And I was like, oh,

(02:06):
well that down to one, yeah, down down to their
down to run in the ninth inning, and then the
guy goes, oh, they just tied it with a home run.
I'm like, that's great. That's how I found out that
they tied the game at three in the ninth inning.
But I was also in the middle of one of
the wildest environments I've ever been a part of fotball games,
So yeah, I was I wasn't about to lose too

(02:29):
much focus on that. I mean, I was dvring it
at home so I can watch when I got home today,
which I did, and it was awesome. So yeah, I
got a chance to experience just knowing everything that happened.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Chris. I'm not going to say it was the best game.
I mean, it could very well have been one of
the best games, but it was one of the most suspenseful,
should I say, dramatic sporting events. And then I think
I ever watched. I'm trying to It's a Game seven
in the World Series, right right, But I've tried to
think of if there's ever been so much drama and suspense.

(03:01):
All I come up with is maybe like the eighty
six Mets Red Sox Game six. I think it like
Mets Astros when Mike Scott was pitching and they went
into the tenth inning and each team scored three runs.
I believe it was. I'm trying to go off memory.
I mean, but maybe the USA against the Russians in hockey.

(03:22):
But really talk about suspense and drama and all the
stuff that happened in the ninth inning in the extra innings,
and I mean, it was just incredible, absolutely incredible, and
it's right up there, and then like one of the
top five suspensial things ever was it was unbelievable, Chris, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
It was.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
And you add in Game six to it as well,
and the craziness of an eighteen.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Inning game in the middle of this.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I mean, I I don't know, man, I don't know
if there's I don't know if there's been anything quite
like it outside of I mean even for Toronto.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Annie.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I know you didn't mention it. To go back to
nineteen ninety three, the Joe Carr walk off card game. Yeah,
I mean, there's there's Daniel's hurt. Yeah he is, Oh no, no,
there seven. We'll get back to baseball here in just
a bit. Seven twenty nine to go. In the fourth quarter,
thirty eight to seven, the Seahawks are leading and it

(04:18):
looks like Jane Danny, what'd you say, broken elbow? You think, yeah,
that's what they're saying on the broadcast already.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
It's look, it looks pretty much they're getting the air
cast down there, like absolutely Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
He's walking off the field now and he's got the
cast on his arms.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
So I was thinking, why is he in the game
when the score is thirty eight to seven. I'm just
kind of curious why.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
I'm a bad call? I mean, in fact, I.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Especially when he was hurt. The what three games is
your four games this year?

Speaker 2 (04:45):
To Sean Reid, who covers the I don't want to
say Redskins. For some reason, the Commanders literally tweeted right
as this drive started, I mean, at this point, with
all the injuries piling up, why not just pull the starters?
It was, it was the tweet, I have pulled up here.
All right, we'll get enough to monitor that.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Patrick. We ended update on that in just a bit.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
But when you have the conversation about, you know, one
of the best world series that we've seen, you know,
despite everyone's hatred of the of the Dodgers, because right
they have the biggest payroll and everyone kind of ignores
that they've had the top minor league system in baseball
for the last like five or six years, maybe even
a decade.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'll tell you what it's.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
It's championship and it was a series that I don't
think many people are gonna forget for quite a while.
And let's add to it that the Blue Jays had
not won but two chances to win it at home,
at home, Arnie, and couldn't get it done.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I sent you, and I forgive me because I can't
find it now. I sent you. Was it a reporter
from Toronto television? Is that who it was? Pretty much?
Say it? I don't care. You know that the Dodgers
were the better team. Didn't win this World Series. They
get so bitter, they get so mad. I totally disagree.

(05:59):
You could say what you want about the Dodgers and
how much they spent, but the better team did win.
And you know, there was a few things people were
talking about. The lead off from third on that play home,
that he didn't take a big enough.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Lead those I mean that on the force plate home.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah, oh that was incredible. Yeah, excuse me because I
didn't see that live. Are they saying that his foot
initially didn't touch the plate and when it came back
down that's when.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
The ad happened. Is or was it?

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Was it right off the bat? I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I am of the understanding that it was that he
had to put his foot back down. Okay, okay, But again,
like I said, I didn't a pruter film that because
that wasn't that big of a deal to me. Rights
right now, that catch in the uh in the ninth
by Paez was I just I didn't think I mean

(06:54):
that that was incredible. I mean, who the heck? And
by the way, did you see Vlad's catch? Was it
like the third with the bases loaded?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
What he do for it? I'm curious to see if
that would have been a fair or foul ball because
he caught it in foul territory. But it did cross fair,
made the.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Catch base, it kept you know, the Dodgers at Bay.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
But I don't know if this series of all the
things that happened in the in the World Series, yeah,
is I maybe I haven't watched enough Blue Jay baseball,
and I know the dude's a gold glover, But to me,
Vlad Guerrero was just, oh man, he's a big bat.
You know, he's he's kind of a larger dude that
just hits bombs, but he is a complete baseball player

(07:36):
and I gained so much respect for him watching as
many innings of this series as I could, and hearing
Smolts and Joe Davis talk about him. I mean, he
was just it was incredible. It was a really fun series.
I don't know what the two numbers look like. Yeah,
I don't. I don't know if it hurts because of Toronto.
I think we had this conversation when the Raptors were
in the finals in the NBA. But I had a

(07:57):
blast man and it was weird. It was weird, and
I'm a Dodger fan too, so obviously I was fired up.
But it was weird to know Game seven was going on,
and even as somebody who covers it, I couldn't watch
it because my responsibilities were pulled.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
In another direction. I was fine with it, don't.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
I mean, it was just it was odd, like thirteen
year old Chris Plank would have been so torn in
that moment.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Right now, It's like, what the Dodgers in the World
Series and you're not watching.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
It exactly Hindsight's twenty twenty. I just watched it to
know this, but I said, and last week he kind
of shot me down on this. I go, isn't it
funny that they have none of the World Series games
on a Sunday, at least Game seven being us. So
they go, you don't want to go up against the NFL.
I go, well, it's just Sunday night NFL and if
it's a bad game, boom Seattle. Could you imagine what

(08:41):
the ratings would have been if the Game seven was
tonight and they played a game like that with Seattle
and Washington being a blowout, It would have been.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Good, would be great. I would have liked it a
little bit more. But I don't know that I shot
you down. I just I don't think you want to
go up against the NFL. I think that's kind of
the lesson that everyone is is learning whenever it comes to.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Anything, right, right, I understand that. I just it's one
game though it's out when like a slew of NFL games.
But you're you're probably right on that. But it was
just fun to watch. I was thinking of you going,
I wonder if you're like peeking at the score, No,
are people yelling it to you from the sideline or something?
Like that or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Not at all.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Just the guys in the booth gave me updates every
now and then, and I mean I kind of I
kind of said, listen, I dude, I'm gonna tell you
right now, I don't know how many fans we have
that are listening in in Knoxville. It crossed the state
at Tennessee. I don't I apologize. I don't know whatever
affiliate meet. I'd call my man Kurt during the break
and check in and find out what our affiliate is
throughout Tennessee and the Knoxville area. Arnie, that was the

(09:45):
greatest college football environment I've ever been a part of
in my life. Really really, it was amazing. It was
from start to finish, and I was there all day.
I got there at noon for seven o'clock kick, so
I was there all day long.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
I got to see all the practices and it was
just jaw dropping. Man.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
They now, granted they have I'm struggling my voice tonight,
not only because whenever I was doing my reports, I
was having to talk over one hundred and two thousand people,
which is a lot. But to have speakers on the sidelines, dude,
and they're not like some little small speakers. I don't
know if it's their sound system speakers or what, but

(10:23):
they have them cranked up, like if the knob goes
to ten, they're cranked up to like thirty and they're
just at full blast all game long.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
And so you're competing with.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
The crowd, You're competing with these speakers trying to get
your points across. But yeah, so that made it tough
for me as a fan of the Dodgers, but it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Was pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I found out they won whenever I got a text
message from my boss at my local station, Casey case Vine,
my boss lady, she said, hey, congratulations. I was like, what,
that's how I founded the Dodgers won of the World
Series last night because we were doing post came interviews,
we were not in the locker room, Arnie, and I mean,
we have we have to do it different when we're

(11:05):
on the road, so I can't really be on my phone.
I'm taping things on my phone right and the guy
that's with me is all fired up because the Sooners
won and we're doing all of our work and nobody
cares about baseball down there, but just one right, exactly exactly,
so yeah, and I'm grateful. I figured you would be
the kind of person that was texting me all night long,
be like, oh no, I'm in trouble.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
I would have texted you had they lost, but they won.
I decided I'm just gonna leave you alone. I said
that the game was over when it was three nothing
and got a slew of texts from people going, thanks. Now,
you've just ensured that the Dodgers are going to come back.
And when some guy bet like hundreds of dollars once,
I put that out on the Dodgers because he says,

(11:46):
I'm the kiss of that boy.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
This is really, really, really a bad night for Washington.
Anything else, Let's get a football, anything else you want
to after the World Series, I'm sure fantastic.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Congratulations to the Dodgers, to you tall, the Dodger fans
out there. They deserved it. A good way for Clayton
Kershaw to finish out his career and well done, you know,
Dave Roberts, I'm glad he got it. And you know,
people criticize him like crazy, but overall, you know, usually
when we talk about suspense, it's like NBA, NFL. But

(12:21):
I loved it, you know, I hopefully, you know, we'll
get more of that. But that was that was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
That was I wonder, what is what is the best way?
Just as a final thought on this, Yeah, is their
momentum from it? Is it something that baseball can capitalize
off of? You know, the Dodgers are kind of the
villains now and everyone's like, oh, they've ruined baseball. But
I mean, can you capitalize off this? If you're round
manfreend in baseball.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I would try, but I'm not sure how to do it.

Speaker 2 (12:51):
Yeah, I'm the same way smarter than me.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah, I mean, if if there's a way of doing it,
that's a good place to start. I was thinking about that.
I go, you know, what's gonna happen next year? You
know they're gonna be able to build on that. But
did you see that it was twelve hundred dollars you
know how they have the watch party outside for the
teams up in Toronto. Was twelve hundred dollars just to
go to the watch party. So it was crazy ticket

(13:14):
prices up there for that. It was it was just insane.
It was crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Wait, twelve hundred dollars to go to a watch party.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Yeah, you know, how they have the watch party outside
with the big screens and there's.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
That way that can be right.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah, I think actually I might have tweeted that out Chavez.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
They were charging no, no, no, no, outside of Toronto.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Oh, it was twelve hundred dollars outside the stadium. They
have that setup where people watch the games.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
So hold on, hold let me out. So literally, is
it cordned doll for something? I mean it's usually just
on the street where they're allowed to watch it.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, top the street. But they off though, Yeah, they
put like barriers and stuff fair enough.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Well will Smith big time clutch. I mean mean, Mookie
Batch was terrible this whole post season, but whenever, whenever
he needed to, whenever the Dodgers needed most.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
In Game six.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Oh and by the way, Game six, I got fooled
about five times on replays to where like Mookie was
coming up to bat I think it was in the
seventh and they showed the replay of his hitting the
second end. I'm like, yeah, and Sureance runs and like
that's a replay.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
I'm like, we even had we even had bench clearing brawl,
not quite a brawl, but they cleared the benches. I
thought that was good.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
In the fourth inning, in the fourth inning, and then
they not late in the fourth inning.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
What did you think about them complaining to the umpire
about Otani?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
What were they complaining about him?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Oh, you didn't hear that. The Uh oh, I'm sorry.
I forgot Otani had made the last out. Uh huh,
don't quote maybe the third in and fourth inning. I
don't know what ning it was. I think I think
it was the third To watch the game, come on,
everything's boring during the whole weekend. But he made the
last out. I remember. Now he has to obviously go

(15:05):
back out there and pitch, so you're allowed two minutes
before going back out there. I guess he took over
three minutes.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Oh okay, yes, they're supposed to give you a ball.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
That I don't know. But the manager's like pointing at
his risk, going are we gonna play? Let's go, let's go.
But you know the the umpire, you know how they
have the guy in the studio saying, look, it's it's
scave seven to the World Series. It's shoe O TODDI
he just made the lass out and he's got a pitch.
I would I would say an extra minutes okay, and
this in this circumstance, you know, you don't want to

(15:38):
rush to anybody, And he gave seven Chris, is what
he was saying.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Well, I it's weird. Sometimes they give grace on certain things,
like that time between innings. Sometimes they give grace on
the pitch clock right with you stand back action.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Clock and other sports.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Sometimes they give grace when the play clock is whinding
down to you call time out.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Sometimes they don't.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
But in the World Series, on the biggest day, Jotani,
I mean, give a.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
Little bit, take your friend taking boy.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
They are really, really, really in their qbs, struggling for
content time because NBC is given a shout out to
all their camera guys, which is deserved. They should get more.
But yeah, this thing is ugly here tonight, all right,
Dodgers win the World Series, the saga will be along.
We'll have more from uh Chavez ravine. So when is
the celebration Patrick, when's the prey gonna be?

Speaker 4 (16:26):
It's a tomorrow actually, I think it's at starting at
eleven am or am our time.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Nice eleven a m tomorrow, Great.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Guy, you should go plank, go ahead and fly out there.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah, yeah, I just jump on a bird and go out.
Not all of us are trophy husbands like you. Some
of us have the opposite during the.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Week, Patrick, any any of our producers going any Well,
Moncey's probably going, that's for sure, no doubt about that.

Speaker 4 (16:51):
I they can't confirming Moncey's not. I'm gonna go on
a limb and assume Bo Benson and Ryan Bersching your
probably will go. Considering those guys.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Dodger fans all this year, right.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
They've been it's almost like they have a Dodger podcast.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
Right, I might go, Oh, look, you're not going. No,
I actually might go because it's like down the street
from my house.

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Oh okay, well that's.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
A share you'll go a few steps away.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yeah. I thought you were trying to say that you're
going to go to celebrate. But hey, anytime there's a prey,
they're gonna throw candy.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
Yeah, why not, Like it's like a block away from
my house, two blocks away?

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Like going on.

Speaker 2 (17:32):

playing well. Ucla didn't lose well, they didn't play good
times forgot to add to Frank usc one this weekend
when on the road to beat Nebraska.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
It will be.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Interesting to see where they are on Tuesday night. Whenever
the first playoff rankings pop up. It brought me much joy,
not that your dolphin's lost on Thursday night, even though
we try to tell you about that, but you refuse
to listen.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
And I don't know if I should fall for this, But.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
Roman Numeral Run, Roman Numeral one brings me a little
bit of hope that you're finally out.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Oh it's done, it's it's it's finally over. I'm done.
I feel like a weight has been taking off my shoulders,
you know what I mean. I feel so much better.
You know what it's like.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
You know, you didn't take that weight off whenever they
had lost every game before the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
No, no, no, I didn't.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
But now it's a it's a physical It's like when
you're you know, when you're dating in college and your
girlfriend breaks up with you and you kind of bummed out,
and and you go back to your room and and
you're like, okay, it's over. You start playing Hall of Oats.
You know that song, She's gone. Oh she's gone. You
better learn how to face it and pay the devil

(19:49):
to replacement, you know that. So you start playing that.
You feel all bummed out, but then you eventually get
over it and you feel good and you're like, okay,
let's get back out there. So I feel I'm I
wiped it away. I cleansed it away. The season's done,
we got rid of the GM gone, You're gone. Goodbye.
You've been with the organization twenty five years. Thank you

(20:11):
for your service. You've been GM for like nine or
ten years of my entire rotten life. So goodbye, I
and we wish you the best. McDaniel, goodbye after the season. Goodbye.
Please send us a postcard where you and Tua end
up to and goodbye. I'm gonna miss you, but you

(20:32):
know you're a good guy in all. Goodbye, we'll get
ourselves another quarterback. And yeah, sometimes you got to learn
how to face it. Chris, goodbye. They're all gone, all
of them.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
What is wrong with his connection?

Speaker 3 (20:47):
No, they're all gone, the GM, the coach, the quarterback,
they all got to go. They're all and you just
you feel good. You're sitting in your room. You feel
good now if it's all cleansed away. Now, like when
your girlfriend breaks up with you, you're like, hey, there's
a fraternity party tonight, let's go. Let's get all nude

(21:09):
up and I'll put on some Polo cologne and I'm
ready to go ahead and talk to some women. I'm
ready to get a new GM, a new coach, a
new quarterback. Let's go, let's go.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
This was your quarterback? Just it is his? Is that
my headphones?

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Or is that Arnie just yelling into the micro Okay, dude,
you're going to change your mind if they win next week.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
No, I'm not. I'm not changing anything. No, it's over.
They're Chris, they they're two and seven. What do you
what's wrong with you? I mean, come on with football
to you.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
I felt like we've been trying to teach it to you.
It's over for the last six months.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Refuse to us.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
No, no, no, no, it's nothing. I refused to listen to you. No,
it isn't. Look it just didn't work out this year.
Everybody's got to go. We've got that have cleansing. My
friend we So what would you call it?

Speaker 2 (22:03):
If you would say that it wasn't you refusing to
listen to the combination of me and Mary and Seger
And if it was Patrick or if it was Ian
or whomever saying Hey, Arnie, I don't think they're going
to be that good, and you're telling us it's the
It was the easiest schedule you've ever seen in the
history of the NFL.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
I didn't know where did you guys practice medicine? But
you knew that Tyreek Kill was going to get hurt? Right?
Is that? Is that what you're telling me? No, you
knew that he was.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
We were telling you we didn't think he was going
to be that good. They weren't very good when he
was playing.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Well, we would have turned it around had we still here.
You're already making excuses. I'm just and you knew that
John hu Smith was going to be gone, and yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Because he had had traded before the season.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Even and you knew that getting rid of Ramsey was
going to make the defense like Swiss cheese. You you
knew all that stuff, right, Yes, you did, we did.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
We were sitting you're pleading with you to stop talking
about they put the Dolphins on all the like big
games because in the NFL thought the Dobbins.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Were going to be good this year. So stop at
your bs. What is my dad would say, stop at
your bs?

Speaker 2 (23:09):
What big games are they scheduled out?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
I think like the Monday nights and the Sunday nights,
and they were in primetime in like eight or nine
games this year.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
I don't I don't think that's right.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
No, it was. You're not gonna double check anyway, But
I'm looking at.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
It right now and they're not. They now everybody gets
a Thursday night game. They have one Monday night game
that's coming up on the fifteenth, and then they play
Sunday night game on the twenty first, and I think
that's one of three primetime games.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
I'm just trying to think who we're going to get
a quarterback now the two is gone.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
Well two is still there. You got to find somebody
that's going to take on his contract.

Speaker 3 (23:43):
I already said, did you see what I sent you?
I already had. I already a step ahead of you,
my friend. Well go ahead, Yeah, you didn't read what
I sent you about to his contract. No, I sent
you how to get out of to his contract.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
And what's the key not to kill me? First place?

Speaker 2 (24:01):
No?

Speaker 3 (24:02):
No, very funny, very I sent you a thing that
talks somebody talked about about how the Dolphins have.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
To Right here, by the way, this is the Arnie thing.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Arnie sends us something because he doesn't want to read
it and he wants us to read it.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Well, I just want you to be knowledgeable when I
start going through this stuff. But they're gonna have to
ready yet, no, I did. Really, they're gonna have to
release him after June first, because if they release him
after June first, they could take his cap hit over
the next two years. If it's done before June first,
it's only a cap year for the following year. So

(24:36):
and they talked about how the Chargers ascuse me, how
Denver withstood this and that and came out okay. So
they just talked about how it's gonna have to be
a cap hit and they go into the numbers, sixty
seven million here and thirty one million there and who cares.
But the bottom line is they've got to release him
after June first, I believe.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
Well, I mean, you're still gonna take a hit. And
it took the Broncos a couple of years until they
found Nicks. And I still don't know how good Bownicks
actually is, but he keeps making play, So I guess
you got a tipic. I mean, they were terrible today
against Houston, aren't he terrible? And yet the Broncos keep
winning games, but I don't know if it's gonna be
that easy. Maybe you can find someone to just take
him off your hands. Did you see the proposed to

(25:16):
trade this week was that you would have to give
up a second and a third round pick to trade him.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
It would be two A plus a second round pick
and a third round pick to deal him.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
If we could do that and give get rid of
the money, I'm all for it. Let's do it, man,
Let's go ahead and do it. I'm ready.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
I mean, you gotta look around the league, but I
don't know what you're thinking. There's not just a lot
of easy, fun, great quarterbacks that are waiting picked up.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
I can think of some quarterbacks I would like to have.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
You know, of course you could, all right? Uh, when
we come back to.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
The man as a member of the Dolphins, is that
what you're saying?

Speaker 1 (25:47):
He's looking a lot better right now?

Speaker 2 (25:49):
He is? You doubted him. I told you it was
going to take him time and had the beginning, but
it maybe maybe so, Or he's going to go back
to college and play another year.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Who knows.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I think are you going to be looking at I
don't know, Lenor sellers out of South Carolina. Maybe, Kate Klubnick,
I think your starting quarterback next year is going to
be Tua.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
But that's just me.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
No, that's not going to happen.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
He's you want to bet your job on it.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
I've put my foot down on this one.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
All right, all right, that's good to say. Gre In
here to bring some sandy tea to the program.

Speaker 1 (26:20):
What's going on, Steve? How are you doing well?

Speaker 8 (26:22):
Actually? Hello, gentlemen. And by the way, you talked about
that incredible World Series Game seven last night. The one
point that Arnie brought up when Toronto had bases loaded
and Rojas somehow after the ground ball made the throat
of the plate and the runner from third was barely out,
he didn't take enough of the lead in the first place.
That moment happened while an NHL game was going on

(26:47):
in Edmonton. And this is how the crowd sounded in
the hockey arena while the hockey game is going on
on Sports Now.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Looks at home there, Yeah go big boy? Okay, can
you imagine if I did that? You guys would never
let me.

Speaker 8 (27:15):
I can't imagine you doing Apparently the largest baseball audience
since COVID was the Dodgers clincher at Yankee Stadium. The
big comeback a year ago was about eighteen million viewers.
We had an NBA Finals Game seven this year with
sixteen and a half million. We had college Football's March

(27:36):
Madness Final Florida Houston with eighteen million. We had the
Kentucky Derby this year just under seventeen million viewers, and
as far as anything on TV non football, the Oscars
got close to twenty million. So the question is, is the
Game seven being on a Saturday night not a Sunday
they avoid Sundays these days, will that approach twenty million?

(27:58):
Because it was a truly class game. In fact, Major
League Baseball's communications department had been touting the ratings going
into the two Toronto games this past weekend, the fact that,
believe it or not, they'd had great ratings even for
the two worst games of the series in LA on
Tuesday and Wednesday, I had almost fifteen million in the

(28:19):
US for that. Again, it's with a Canadian opponent, and
Nielsen doesn't rate Canadian households like they do US TV households.
So we saw this with the NBA Finals compared to
when it was Steph Curry and Golden State against Lebron
and then it was Steph Curry and Golden State against Toronto.
The ratings went down just because Canada's not counted in

(28:40):
the US ratings. But here's what MLB communications did through
the first five games of the series. US plus Canada
plus Japan, twenty eight million viewers was the average for
the first five games of the World Series. Now tonight,
in the NFL, we had a Seattle lead of twenty
eight nothing in the second quarter at Washington thirty eight

(29:02):
to fourteen. The final and star quarterback for the Commanders,
Jade and Daniels, suffered a significant left arm injury mid
fourth quarter, still in the game, down thirty eight to seven,
ten carries fifty one yards in a touchdown for him,
thirty eight to fourteen Seattle. The final six and two
record for the Seahawks. Sam Darnald was incredible tonight. First
four drives, four touchdown passes. He finished twenty one of

(29:26):
twenty four three hundred and thirty yards, the four tds,
one interception. So the NFL just came out with this.
That in the Super Bowl era, So this is looking
at about sixty years worth of the NFL games. Who
else has done in a single game what Donald did tonight,
not just the four touchdown passes, but at least three
hundred and twenty five yards through the air, did not

(29:48):
take a single sack and only three incompletions or less.
The answer is one other quarterback ever, and it was
Johnny Unitas in a game in nineteen sixty seven against
the Falcons, So congrats to that. What I loved is
the stat that came out of trivia. Who's the most
recent NFL player to have four touchdowns and no incompletions

(30:09):
in a first half? The answer was Ryan Tannehill with
the Dolphins. We could have gone.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Good and knock come up with there's another one of
your quarterbacks?

Speaker 8 (30:19):
Buffalo six and two after beating Kansas City twenty eight
to twenty one, Josh Allen with three total touchdowns. The
Kansas City Chiefs are not winning those close games anymore.
Let's just say that. And there have been tons of
close games in the NFL this year. In fact, just
today we had what nine more certainly not tonight's game,
but if you added up this season, it's tied the

(30:41):
record for most games where the winning scores in the
last two minutes or overtime, like the Raider game today,
thirty five times already this season the winning scores in
the last two minutes or overtime, which ties a record.
Jacksonville won an overtime at Las Vegas thirty to twenty nine,
and Cam Little of the Jags kicked a sixty eight
yard field goal at the end of the first half,

(31:02):
a new NFL record. If you've heard the name, perhaps
it's because you remember in the exhibition season he put
it a seventy yarder. It was preseason, so it didn't count.
Rams beat New Orleans thirty four to ten, Matthew Stafford
four touchdown passes. The first college football playoff rankings come
out Tuesday. Kyle Larson won NASCAR Season Championship. The late

(31:23):
NBA game has the Lakers holding on against Miami now
one oh seven to one oh four with under ten
minutes to go. Luka Doncic twenty points, nine rebounds. Tennisis
Oklahoma City seven and oh after ripping New Orleans today
one thirty seven to one oh six. Shay Gilgess Alexander
thirty points. This is his seventy ninth straight game scoring

(31:44):
at least twenty points NHL wins for Detroit in a
shootout and for Anaheim and Auburn fired head coach Hugh Freese.
In his three years there, Auburn was six and sixteen
in conference.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Back to you, thunder might be good, Steve storyline worth
keeping an eye on.

Speaker 8 (31:59):
Only underfeat team now Chicago lost Tonight, Spurs lost to.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
Night the Sega real quick though.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
You turned it out too much, Arnie Gay turned back up.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Sorry, is that matter of fact?

Speaker 8 (32:08):
I kind of like that better.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
That was really good going.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
I have a good stat for you. The last time
Mahomes completed less than fifty percent of his passes came
as a backup verst TCU in twenty fourteen. He went
five for eleven in an eighty two twenty seven loss
that year and playing twelve hundred dollars. Wasn't a watch party.
Was a standing room only ticket inside, So I wanted
to correct myself.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
What was the watch party?

Speaker 5 (32:33):
Then?

Speaker 3 (32:34):
I don't know, I haven't.

Speaker 8 (32:37):
That's a good story, by the way, Yes, mahomes career,
he was under fifty percent completions one hundred forty one
games to start his NFL career. That was snapped today.
Apparently Ben Roethlisberger's number one on the list, one hundred
and ninety one straight games at least fifty percent completions.
That was the last one ninety one of his career.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
Out gosh, speaking about you, guys, can stop sending me
the picture of Jane Daniels arm.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
Okay, it's uh not good. It's not good.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
It looks season ending, it looks career concerning.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
I think right, he's Chris. It does.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Look at it. I can't stop looking.

Speaker 8 (33:17):
It is as left arm. Just for the record, right.

Speaker 1 (33:19):
Right, very good point, very good point. It is left arm.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Couple.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Wait, do we have time for some tweet? Oh, let's
hear some text when we come back. They're good.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
I'm laughing here at our man at tiger Man in Utah.
He writes, Arnie, what dody? Chris becomes so negative on
your Dolphins. As an LSU fan and Arnie Spanier fanatic,
I'm highly offended by Plank trying to tell you the
fin season is over.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Plank just hates the fence.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Listen. I tried to tell season was over whenever they're
like one in four, and he wouldn't listen to me.
He was the one who brought their season back last week,
Tiger Man in Utah, and he's the one who today
who is finally saying that it is as I think
you would.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Say, O V E R over as as I'm also
an Arnie Spaniard fanatic, and I have to agree with
Tiger manning and you're very negative.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
You gotta you know, I'll work on that. All right.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
When we come back, we'll hit your tweets. We got
Todd Furman coming up next hour. What we learned after
week nine of the NFL season. I guess technically we're
talking about the halfway point of the NFL season. We
had another coach firing today he freezes out at Auburn,
and we get our first college football playoff rankings on Tuesday.
We'll hit it all tonight with already in playing on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (34:22):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
All right, we uh, we got it.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
The text line for all right, sorry, the tweet to
the show tonight for a lot of good content here tonight.
It's the best way to get involved. U hallan Oats
to night. I see, huh yeah about a big fan
of holl of Oats. It was a pretty good pull
on your part, by the way that you were finally
moving on because you know that they're not coming back
to you.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
I'll give you that.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
You know, when the girl doesn't want to date you anymore, Chris,
there's not much you can do. You just have to
say goodbye. It's just sayonara, goodbye. Time to move on
to something else. I guess, yeah, it was.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
It was good. It was a good analogy. G you coach,
you're about about.

Speaker 2 (35:12):
One hundred in your analogy, so it's good to finally
have one that hammers home like.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Got to be realistic, Chris, you're a little more unrealistic
than I am.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Well, I am married, so I'm not out trying to
get ladies right now. To some of these tweets the
show tonight, Colin, Good teams don't lose to the Browns
on the road. Super Bowl contenders don't lose to the
Panthers at homes at home. The Packers aren't as good
as the hype we've been hearing.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Well, this is ever since you put them number one
on your power rankings.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah, they didn't look so hot today, did they. I'm
saying to myself, they're not a if you're looking at
just based on today's game, they're not looking like a
Super Bowl contender, that's for sure.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
No, they did not. I was hearing.

Speaker 3 (35:54):
I was hearing.

Speaker 2 (35:54):
I was listening to Ephraim and Mark Willard talk about
Jordan Love and I do think we kind of get
enamored and not to say this is what they were saying,
but sometimes people get enamored with what I need to
have and you're you're guilty of this.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
I'm guilty of this.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
I haven't seen him have a three hundred yard three
touchdown day, So obviously they're not as good as they
should be, which is just I are they winning? Are
they not putting their team in a bat? But are
they Daniel jonesing it? You know, like he is for
the Colts this year. And if that's the case, then
they're they're doing a good job. But they brought up
a good point. Mark and he from have you had
a moment where you're watching the Packers and you have

(36:30):
the wow moments with Jordan Love like you do when
you watch Mahomes or when you watch Josh Allen or
when you watch Lamar Jackson, you just know you're watching greatness.
And I don't know if we're seeing that yet with
Jordan Love and I kind of feel like he's been
anointed incredibly prematurely. He's that unfair.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
And they did put weapons around them. They have Jacobs,
got themselves a running back, and added a wide receiver.
I think of the draft they had a wide receiver
first time in how many years? So, and look at
that division five and two, Lions, Bears five and three,
Minnesota four and four. Who you get taken? You know,
we got a whole second half of football. Who you

(37:09):
like it in that division?

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, it's tough.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
I still think I believe in the Packers to win
that division and maybe maybe the Lions right there with him.
I mean it's five two and one and five and three.
I mean the Packers are five two and one. I
picked the Packers to win the division the preseason. The
Lions are right there at five and three. Don't look
now for the Bears, even though I mean they're win

(37:34):
against the Bengals and they're win against the Raiders this
year are two of the most improbable wins.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I think we've had.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
Ny They're the only team that can go from worse
to first, I believe, well San Francisco, but yeah, also
the Bears the only two teams that can go from
worse the first this year.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
I don't think that's gonna happen. From my loved Raiders
after today, No, I don't think Zoe either not gonna happen.
This is a good one from Allen Allen Wright, How
should I feel about my Holtz? Six turnovers but only
lost by seven? Is it the Daniel Jones of the
Giants days coming out? Is it as simple as it

(38:10):
just wasn't their day? Do you bury the tape and
get ready for Atlanta?

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Overall?

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Was a pretty weird day anyway. In the NFL, I
think we've seen enough. There's enough sample size to show
that they're for real. Ever since I declared them the
worst team in the NFL, Chris, they've really turned it around.
Then they lost on the road to a Pittsburgh team
who was not the best, but it's still so desperate. Yeah,
it's always tough to go ahead and win in Pittsburgh anyway.

(38:37):
Daniel Jones is just having a phenomenal year. And today's
no different. He's still had over three hundred yards passing.
They just didn't get it down.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
I mean they But then again, there is a statistical
weird thing. He had three hundred and forty two yards passing,
but he had three picks and fun.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Yeah. I mean, look, he didn't have a great game,
but still he's still a quarterback that's turned around his
career ever since he left the Giants. I think there's
no more. Hey, is this guy a starting quarterback in
the NFL. He's proven that we knew that they were
going to come back to earth a little bit. But
I mean they only lost by seven, so I only
lost myself, and I thought that they were didn't have

(39:17):
a great game either.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
You know, yeah, probably out of the MVP conversation. I
know that's unfair, but I feel like you gotta do
like one twenty every week as a running back at minimum.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
No, I'm not sure he's out of it. I mean
this could be just like, we won't even remember this
game eight nine weeks from now, so I would say
he hit another game or two.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
But six turnovers in a game where in a game
where the Colts ran the ball nineteen times and averaged
two point two yards per actually, sorry, two point nine
yards per carry and had just fifty five total rushing yards.
And add to it, they that was a pretty desperate
Pittsburgh Steelers team today. They needed to get a win,
and they took care of and Aaron Rodgers looked pretty

(39:58):
good as well. He took a few shots, but I
liked it a lot. And then one more, one more
here real quick. Yeah, I'm a writer, rob J.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Right.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
So the Dolphins worldwide are celebrating the mutual decision between
owner Steve Ross and former GM Chris Greer to part ways. Reportedly,
Arnie has applied for the job. Dolphins fans are now
pleading for Greer's return. Oh dude, it was time for
him to go.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
They need to They need me to be the GM,
that's what they need.

Speaker 2 (40:27):
Well, I don't know about that, but I mean, at
least i'm a right, I'm a writer. RJ is starting
the campaign for you to get it. And with that news,
they're wanning Chris Greer back. So we'll see how it
pans out. But apparently you're a chemistry professor safe.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
So not so sure about that.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Oh you're not.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Well, let's sake you might get to the end of
the season at least. All right, Todd Furman's coming up
next hour. We'll hit some inside information on the trade deadline.
Next here we go Hour two, Arnie and Plank on
Fire Sports Radio recapping.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Gosh, do we do you call this the midway point
of the season in the NFL?

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Absolutely? Week nine, nine weeks in eight to go nine ago?

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Really I like to think about that right now? All right,
so let's dive into a little bit of can't wait
till it's over. I know you're ready for the draft now.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
No, I'm ready for college basketball.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Well, I thought you were ready for the NBA.

Speaker 3 (41:26):
My revenge starts tomorrow. You know that, don't you.

Speaker 1 (41:29):
Who do you guys have in your opener?

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Arizona and Florida?

Speaker 2 (41:32):
At this point, Shady Sean, I try to start with football.
Arn't he brought up baseball? I try to talk about
the NFL and I was talking college basketball. So send
your hate to at stinking genius.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Our revenge starts tomorrow. We're gonna give are we on
in Gainesville? It doesn't matter. Yeah, We're gonna get Florida
the beatdown that they deserve.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
Why do they deserve it.

Speaker 3 (41:52):
They deserve it, and they're gonna get it from us.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Can we talk about week ten? Are week nine or not?

Speaker 3 (41:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (41:59):
We could do it, okay. So one thing that jumped
out to me all the injuries and c J. Stroud concussion.
That was a cheap shot. That was a cheap shot.
Speaking of quarterbacks, Jane Daniels tonight the elbow that looked terrible.
Left elbow. Will continue to monitor tonight for updates, see
if we can learn anything. Tucker Craft, who'd had an

(42:21):
awesome year for the Packers so far. They're tied in
and they're tough. Loss to day to the Panthers. Green
Bay lost sixteen at thirteen. Tucker Craft down with the
torn ACM Bill's edge rush or Michael Hoyt, who just
came back from a six game suspension, had his achilles
rupture on him and he was such a batty you
know what that he just sat there on the bench
for that was amazing. And then Michael Williams the first

(42:43):
round picking the Niners is out as well too, And
Kyle Shanahan made it seem like that it wasn't It
wasn't good. So, I mean, just a rash of injuries here,
and I don't know, you know, maybe we talk about
this every single year. I've slept since even yesterday, but
I just feel like we've had a rash of injuries,
more than we typically see at this point, and we

(43:04):
keep talking about expanding the season. I don't know what
these teams are going to be held together by if
we get to eighteen games.

Speaker 3 (43:10):
No, and I and I said this about quarterbacks too,
and I disagree. Well, look at Stroud, Look what happened
to Daniels. You know, a little comedy games that Daniels
has missed up already up till now. JJ McCarthy. I'm
just going off the top of my head, but it
just seems that there's a lot of injuries to the quarterback.
Like I said, you're gonna have to have almost a

(43:31):
two quarterback system. It's more like, well, why.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
The heck you're ever gonna have a two quarterback system
in the NFL. But you're gonna see backups being paid
a little bit more than they are now. I mean,
look look at the investment that the Commanders have and
Marcus Mariota, several high paid backups that are out there.
I mean, you guys didn't you pay a little Well, sorry,
don't want to bring up Zach Wilson right now, but
you guys paid a little bit more for your backup

(43:55):
quarterback than you ever have before.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
So yours is it?

Speaker 1 (43:57):
You know, use a pig on him too. Yeah, Hey,
are you surprised?

Speaker 2 (44:01):
We haven't really given much time outside of the injury
to Jane Daniels to Sunday Night Football?

Speaker 1 (44:06):
But are you surprised at all with what's going on.

Speaker 2 (44:08):
In Seattle right now and how good Sam Donald has looked.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Look, I didn't think that they were gonna be like
a horrible team, but I thought they'd be right about
five hundred. I always liked Sam Donald. I just didn't
think you'd put together this type of year, that first
half that they have when he was sixteen out of sixteen?
Is that what he was, Chris?

Speaker 1 (44:26):
That was they've done any complete shit.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
And in fact, I still I was watching them replay
and review that Jackson Smith and Jig. But because that
was as I was getting set up out here in
the studio, I still don't know how they didn't rule
that the clock would keep running on that. I mean,
sometimes the things that we review and waste a lot
of time on in an NFL game is just completely
and totally pointless.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
You want to talk about, you know who's not doing
a good job, it's the referees. Was it last week
they put out a memo that to Kansas City's benefited
like the last two year years.

Speaker 2 (45:00):
I don't think the NFL ever put out a memo.
I think someone had a report that they were in
the NFL. I don't think you're gonna have anyone sit
on a memo and be like, hey, by the way,
guys are helping out the Chiefs quite a bit. I wish,
I wish thirty eight to fourteen was the final score.
Am We kind of tapped out talking about it, But

(45:22):
we haven't even really spent any time talking about what
was the game of the day. What everyone in the
country had was the Chiefs and the Bills game. And
you brought up the stat. De Sager had it in
his update first game in the NFL career of Patrick
Mahomes where he's completed fewer than fifty percent of his
passes in the first time since he was a backup
at Texas Tech whenever they played. I think it was TCU,

(45:43):
but I thought it was maybe the best defensive performance
I've seen from the Bills in a long time.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Man, they could have usually, oh yeah, they could have
usually let this one slip away, especially when they had
the two touchdown lead. It was a fifteen point lead
that let Kansas City back in it by getting the
touchdown in the two point convert version, and then you
were just waiting for Buffota Pond Kansas City get the
ball back. But they picked up a couple first downs,
they drained the clock, gave it back to Kansas City

(46:12):
with very little time left. You know what's so funny,
Before they kicked the field goal attempt, my sister in
law said, oh, they're gonna miss. She's a big time
Bills fans. They're like, oh, he's missing this for sure.
And it hit the polls it went doink, So it
left a little bit of hope they do it in
the end zone. The play before the second, the last

(46:32):
play right kind of almost got caught there. So the
last one didn't reach the end zone. But I was
a little nervous on that one. What did you make then?

Speaker 1 (46:39):
What did you make?

Speaker 2 (46:40):
A pulse tweet our resident Bills expert slash Diehard Bills
Mafia member he says, I'm going to go against all
my instincts, which mostly consists of ripping Sean McDermott, and
celebrate this win tonight. The Bills actually looked somewhat competent
on defense. The Bills will be in first place in
the East after next week, and the amount of whining

(47:03):
cheef sand Dow on social media after one bat call
goes against them in probably eight years is by far hilarious.

Speaker 3 (47:09):
Those aren't even in the first place now, he said, by
next week, I know that the Patriots have won six
in a row. Nobody paying attention to them. They have
me absolutely Ford, But uh yeah, Buffalo. I thought they'd
have a little bit of tough going and they did.
I told you early that they've had some problems. Now
they'll overcome those problems, but they were a little bit
slow out of the gate. Now I like the way

(47:30):
they looked against Kansas City, though they.

Speaker 2 (47:32):
I would love to have problems being six and two,
by the way, and so would you. Now, speaking of
the East, you want to get carried away with the Patriots,
do it?

Speaker 1 (47:42):
Drake? May look good. They're running game.

Speaker 2 (47:44):
They pulled a Belichick, they pulled a guy that hadn't
had a touchdown in his career yet in Cheveon Henderson. Now,
granted he's a rookie, but the kid out of Ohio
State and he got his first career touchdown today.

Speaker 1 (47:56):
But they weren't really able to pull away.

Speaker 2 (47:57):
From the Falcons. And we know how about the Fulkins
are They lost the Dolphins last week? So, I mean,
I don't know what to make of it. NFL's week
to week league. But you got the Packers getting beat
by the Panthers. You got the Patriots fighting for their
lives against the Panthers. You've got a three win now
four win Vikings team beating Detroit on the road. You
got the Broncos, even with the backup quarterback in for Houston,

(48:20):
struggling with the Texans team that's now two games under
five hundred.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
There's a weird day overall in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
A little bit of breaking news. I don't know if
people know this yet, Chris, so let me be the
one who say it to everybody out there. The Kansas
City Chiefs are not making the playoffs. You understand that,
don't you.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
You hope i'd go that far.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
Well, you don't have to go that far. I'll go
that far. They're once again, they are not making the playoffs.
First of all, they're the number eight seed right now.
Jacksonville schedules a lot easier, and they're not going to
catch the Chargers kids, And of course they won't catch
the Bills if the Bills don't win the division, but
the Bills get the tiebreaker, Kansas City not making the
playoffs still be sitting at home watching it this year.

(49:01):
I mean, I hope you're right, but I am right, Chris.
You know I am right.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
They're a game out of the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
If the only team they can catch is Jacksonville, and
Jacksonville will have an easier schedule with that division.

Speaker 1 (49:13):
Okay, hand out real quick, what the hell are you
talking about?

Speaker 2 (49:17):
They got the Texans the only team that they can
capture to chase down. Have you watched the NFL this year?
I mean, the Bills just lost a couple of weeks ago.
I mean, you talk about all these problems that they have,
but the.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Bills get the tie breakers.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
So that's what they just lost.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
The Falcons and the Patriots, well that's if they have
the exact same record.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
I mean, it's just don't.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
Don't blame the messenger, Chris, don't blame the messenger. Please
stop it.

Speaker 1 (49:42):
Why would you do this?

Speaker 6 (49:44):
Why?

Speaker 3 (49:44):
Why would I do it? It's over. It's o ve
er for the Kansas City Chiefs. It's done.

Speaker 2 (49:48):
So I wish I could agree with you. I've seen
this play before. They went three straight games. Maybe it's
not out of the lines. A couple of weeks ago.
They're going to Denver here in a couple weeks. I
think they got their bye week this week, so they're
off this week, and they got the Broncos Colton Cowboys,
so I unfortunately think they're gonna be I hate to
say that.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
By the way, there's only eight teams vying for playoff
spots in the AFC for seven spots. Every everybody else
has been pretty much eliminated. Well, I mean, again puting Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (50:16):
It's not true, but it is true.

Speaker 3 (50:18):
It's very much.

Speaker 2 (50:19):
No, it's not. It's very much Baltimore. It's just won
a game and they have a very easy schedule that
we know. Baltimore's three and five. Are you do you
watch football, Chris? Do you do you know what the state?
I guess I don't watch football. I guess so they're
three and five, and you're that freaking confident in two
six and three teams, a six and three Charger and
a five and three Jaguars team that nobody's gonna chase

(50:41):
them down.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
Nobody's chasing now Jacksonville this year, that ain't happening.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Did you watch them today? They should have lost to
the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (50:49):
Wow, you know, Chris, obviously you didn't see.

Speaker 2 (50:54):
I guess I don't know football. I don't know what
I'm talking about. So please let me nobody's gonna chase
down the vault to Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoff race
this weekd please let me know.

Speaker 4 (51:06):
You don't know the Colts are in the same division, Arnie, Right.

Speaker 3 (51:09):
Yes, I do know that, moron.

Speaker 5 (51:11):
Man.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Wow, it's like you want to sit here and you
want to question everyone's intelligence on a thing that makes
no sense coming out of it.

Speaker 3 (51:19):
They do. I think they have two games against the Colts, right,
is that what they Yes?

Speaker 2 (51:22):
They have two gays and and you're burying the Chiefs
who you're just doing this thing you do where you
know you are the kiss of death and you're gonna
turn things around for him.

Speaker 3 (51:32):
Wait a minute, but Jacksonville also has the Jets, so
that's a win. They have the Titans, so that's a win.
They have the Titans twice, I believe, so there's three
wins right there. Yeah, I'm gonna stick with my statement there, Chris.
Once again, I'm gonna be right. Thank you very much,
like one time.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
You're gonna be right. That'd be good for you. You need
it for your soul. But I can't believe you. Backing
the Jaguars over the Chiefs has got to be one
of the funniest things I think I've heard. And I
know they beat him earlier this year in Monday Night Football,
which was still one of the weirdest plays I've ever seen,
when Trevor Lawrence dropped the ball and pick it up.
But you're telling us tonight, You're telling us tonight on
November second, and I know it's an Ajrik reaction.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
You're counting the Chiefs out of the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Yeah, I'm counting that, and so are our listeners. I
bet you. If we take a look at our Twitter,
it's going to explode.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
People agreeing with me, people are agreeing with you that
the Chiefs are out of there. Well, mister nobody was
already in on this tonight, so he was in very early.
But I don't think many people are going to count
o the Chiefs because we've seen this play before. We've
we've been this. This is the league that we've seen
and they're just getting guys back to where sheee Rice
is back.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
Save your worthies games.

Speaker 3 (52:41):
Back last week and you must have been impressed by Mahomes'
game today. I guess, I guess that's what it was.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
Yeah, he was back last week when they went twenty
eight to seven over the Commanders, and he was back
the week before. We see the Commanders are good.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (52:54):
Well, I mean they won and they beat the snot
out of them.

Speaker 3 (52:57):
Commanders are done too. In case you didn't know that,
it is.

Speaker 2 (53:01):
This show just gonna be about Arnie. Why don't we
just sit back, Arnie tell us everyone who's done tonight? Well,
that's what I want to hear. I told you everything
I bring up is like, oh, they're done, They're done.

Speaker 1 (53:09):
It doesn't matter. So why even play the rest of
the season. Well, I tried.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
I tried to tell you. There's only set there's only
eight teams going for a playoff spot in the AFC
for the seven spots. There's everybody else has been eliminated
for the most part. Know they have it, yeah today,
my goodness.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
Right, but it was some freaking common sense.

Speaker 3 (53:28):
Man.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
You're burying teams that are right there in the midst
of it. I don't understand it.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
The Texans, Ravens, Bengals, Raiders, and the Drek of Society.
None of them. I'm told, I will bet my job
that none of those teams I just mentioned are going
to the playoffs this year.

Speaker 1 (53:46):
I mean, you're you're betting your job on the.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
Tennessee, the Jets, the Brown one win, none of them. Okay,
none of them.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
But you're channing out the Chiefs too. So are you
putting the Chiefs on there too? Is that in the
list of teams that you're betting your job on.

Speaker 3 (54:03):
I'm just saying the Chiefs aren't going to make the playoffs.
All the other teams.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
Hold on, you're gonna you're gonna bet your job on
those teams, but you're gonna sit here and clear them out.

Speaker 1 (54:12):
But you're not gonna bet your job on the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (54:14):
Right, What I'm gonna hold back on a little.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
Bit, Scott, listen, man, I got flexible hours on Sunday.
I can need mornings. I work well with others. I
don't know if I can do this anymore. Hit some

All right, it's Arnie in Plank here on Fox Sports Radio.
Salo to our buddy, Todd Firm live in Vegas. What's

(55:02):
going on, Todd? Good day for the books. How to go?

Speaker 5 (55:07):
Yeah, significantly better than what we've seen in the past.
Of course, we always await the final accounting of sorts.
Not a great result in the final game of the
weekend thus far between Seattle and Washington. But anytime you
have a couple of big underdogs not only cover but
went outright in the form of the Carolina Panthers and
of course the Minnesota Vikings earlier today. Significantly better results
expected than what we've seen over the last couple of weeks,

(55:29):
where overs and favorites seem to be the soup keuor todd.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
You know how you could bet if a team is
going to make the playoffs or not. I don't they
should have them up. We're halfway through. What would it
be the odds of Kansas City not making the playoffs.
I'm just kind of curious if if you know something like.

Speaker 5 (55:44):
That, I mean, they're going to be substantial underdogs to
miss the playoffs. They were the favorite to win the
AFC coming into this weekend. So you're looking at Kansas
City right now. If you believe that they're going to
be on the outside looking in already, you can get
a pretty good price. Right around plus fourth plus four,
we're forties and going right on Kansas City. The biggest
long shot to miss the playoffs would be the Buffalo Bills,

(56:05):
now priced at fifteen to one.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Wow, I'm gonna get rich. Give me some of that, man,
Give me some of that.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
I love it, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:13):
Do that.

Speaker 5 (56:14):
I don't know if that's going to be the best
rescue for success, but I'll applaud the intrepid effort done
the less.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
I understand that we still have a fairly long way
to go and that we're the halfway point of the
season Todd, but I think we're starting to see some
things materialize, like New England might be pretty good. How
impressed are you with what the Patriots? You know, was
tied today with the Falcon? Sound pressed? Are you with
what the Patriots have been able to do this year?

Speaker 5 (56:36):
And they definitely continue to show moxie in terms of
building confidence. Although when you look over the wind Street
get they're starting the season one and two now winners
at Sixth Street. The trade the schedule leads a little
bit to be desired. Yes, to win on Sunday night football,
that kind of kickstarted this against Buffalo sure means a lot.
But wins against the Saints, Titans, and Browns don't mean
merely as much as they do other than in the

(56:57):
win calm and today's effort. You know, they were pushed
for the better part of four quarters. Credit the Falcons
for hanging around, but it's a miss Parker Romo extra
point that changes the game. And when you look at
New England's upcoming schedule, though, it doesn't get that much
more difficult because after a trip down to the Gulf
Coast to take on Tampa next week, they get the Jets,
Bengals and Giants in succession. So everything in front of

(57:17):
this team, who came into the year with a regular
season win total in an eight and a half nine rings,
sitting at seven and two looks like they are on
a crash course to potentially decide the division maybe Sunday,
December fourteenth, and they take on the bill coming out
of their by Todd.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
When you look at two of the divisions NFC West
Seattle Rams forty nine are separated by a half a
game NFC North, all the teams, I believe separated by
a game and a half. Is any value in betting
who's going to win the division by taking one of
those long shots within a half a game or so
or what I mean?

Speaker 5 (57:47):
I think it's always worth trying to explore some of
the options, figuring out what's not necessarily being captured from
a strength to schedule metric. I know what the Bears
win loss record is that there's a reason that they're
nine to one given some of their defensive shortcomings. Credit
to BENJ. Johnson and company, they've been able to outscore
all that ailed them on the stop unit side. And
when you look at the other divisions, I mean, look,
the NFC West is as bunched up as any you're

(58:08):
going to find. I mean, the Rams right around plus
a dollar fifty, the Seahawks a half kicked behind them,
and the forty nine Ers, even though they're a mash
unit trying to figure out how will cabble together fifty
three healthy bodies every week a price tag less than
three to one. And the same thing can be said
about the AFC West. I know you're clamoring to try
and bet the Chiefs to miss the playoffs, aren't he?
But they still are slight favorites over the Denver Broncos

(58:29):
and Chargers. Wow, even after they're loss today again, got bills.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
So todd With the injury tonight of Jane Daniels, it
was a big injury day.

Speaker 1 (58:38):
You know, we'll be keeping Nile on CJ. Stroud throughout
the week.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
The tuck of craft injury hurt Michael Williams for the
forty nine ers.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
But I mean, are we putting a finger dan Quinn?

Speaker 2 (58:47):
Why was Jane Daniels still in that game when he's
such an important part of this team.

Speaker 5 (58:51):
No, I don't think it's fair in my opinion, to
blame dan Quinn for any of this. You know, as
a quarterback that was looking to try and establish a rhythm,
he'd missed so much time this year, and you don't
figure an injury of that nature is going to unfold
it at that time. And situation just seems to be
one of those seasons where you know, whether the Commanders
walked under ladders or found a way to get in

(59:12):
the way of a black cat, that everything that could
go wrong has gone wrong. And it's oftentimes what we
see in the NFL. I mean, what goes right so
much in one season can often regress the following year.
And I think the Commanders have essentially fallen victim, you know,
to a lesser extent of a sophomore slump, not brought
on by Jane Daniels. But it appears to quickly becoming
a lost season in Washington with a rash of injuries

(59:33):
and now Jane Daniels most likely being lost for a
significant portion of time, if not the remainder of the
regular season.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
Todd A couple of bad beats in college. One of
them Georgia going in for the winnings or going in
for a score to cover the spread. Take Sidney at
the two yard line, a one yard line, and I
think the Virginia game also interception pig six on the
last play. A couple of bad beats there.

Speaker 5 (59:56):
Nothing is ever safe in this business until that clock
strike triples Era mentioned Gunner Stockton sliding down with a
chance to get outside the number. Anyone who watched that
SEC game at the world's largest outdoor cocktail party, though,
it would be hard pressed to convince me that Florida
wasn't the right side for a full sixty minutes. And
clearly Gunner Stockton, after making that mistake against Auburn earlier
this season, did the heady thing. And while it may

(01:00:19):
infuriate sports betters, look, these guys are out there to
win football games, and the only way that Florida had
a chance is if they got the football back. So
credit to Gunner Stockton. The Cal Virginia game a little
bit different, of course, Cal getting a stop on fourth
and short inside their own twenty and then the ensuing
play at the pick six. Now, why the Virginia players
not sliding down after he intercepts that ball remains? Yeah, exactly,
but you know it takes what would have been a

(01:00:40):
cover for Cal as a six point home underdog, from
the win column into the lost column as they come
up on the wrong end of a thirty one to
twenty one decision.

Speaker 2 (01:00:47):
Tod, have you ever seen anything quite as crazy as
that Bears Bengals finished?

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
That was absolute insanity.

Speaker 5 (01:00:53):
I mean, I would say last week when we watched
the Bengals against the Chests, but yeah, every single week
the Cincinnati Bengal has become must YTV for all the
wrong reasons. And you wonder, when you know coach Taylor
is going to pull his hair out, how hell golden
is going? How did I make this mistake leaving Notre
Dame to deal with this? But when you can't get
a stop at a key juncture, even with an offense

(01:01:14):
as dynamic is what we saw with Joe Flackle flirting
with nearly five hundred yards passing low Behold, that's what
we see there, and the Bear's pretty fortunate to escape
despite countless miscues on special teams, seemingly for the entire
four quarters dodd.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
How much money has bet on a Game seven in
baseball like that? And what were the odds on if
you were doing live betting when the Dodgers were down
three nothing and also when they had one out in
the ninth inning.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
Pretty substantial pricing. And in terms of betting handle. A
lot of the sportsbook operators I talked to said, you know,
game six and Game seven rival to handle that they
would see on a big time NFL game, not of
course the NFL playoffs, but when you have the proximity
out here to the Dodgers, you have two let's call
the National brands and the Dodgers and Blue Jays. And
when you mentioned the live odds, look the Dodgers upwards

(01:01:59):
of fifteen eighteen to one, even trailing, you know, by
a couple of runs as that game continued to go on.
But you know, credit the Dodgers championship pedigree, and it's
tough to kill the champion until you record twenty seven outs.
But if you'd ask me to name the player that
was going to deliver in the flush for the Dodgers,
I think I would have probably chosen Sandy Kofax before
mcguil rollo.

Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
I definitely would have been a better pick. Probably.

Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
Hey, I'm curious about some quarterback progress reports from you,
and I want to ask about Gino because I'm still
hurting over that. I mean, he had Jacoby Myers wide open,
but let's throw it right into a defensive lineman's hand.
What do you make a cam ward some bad highlights
from that game today?

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
I mean, they were in that game.

Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
If their offense could have done anything, maybe, but it's
just it's not going well. Is he Is he going
to get through this year? Is he going to be
the guy at Tennessee?

Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
I think he deserves a shot with a real head coach,
an offensive minded guy at that. But to your point,
I mean nothing to write homebout with a twelve for
twenty one performance that probably doesn't even need to justice
to some of the lack of awareness in the pocket.
His body language needs to improve, you. I think his
clock in his head has to speed up a little bit.
You can't improvise quite the same way under center at

(01:03:08):
this level that you could when you were at Miami.
So I'm not going to throw the baby out with
the bath water when you look at cam Wood and
the changing head coach, but I don't think the organization
has given him the tools to set him up for success.
So my opinion, whoever they decide to bring in as
the next head coach has to be an offensive minded
guy and a track record at least at the offensive coordinator,
bringing long, young quarterbacks, trying to get the best out

(01:03:30):
of the guy that they thought was going to be
the face of their franchise.

Speaker 3 (01:03:33):
Todd, I envy you so much. I gotta tell you.
Can you do me a favorite tomorrow? Can you FaceTime
me tomorrow when you're watching Arizona kick the crap out
of Florida by twenty points out in Las Vegas. I'm
sure you're going to the game, right, I'm sure you're
going to do that.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
I honestly, you know, didn't realize that college basketball even
started tomorrow and say, oh no, I mean that's that's
kind of how things work. I mean, we don't all
operate like Aaron Torres or college basketball. So football first,
and we'll start paying attention to college hoops. Wants to
hand out that Lombardi turkey.

Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
In February thirty two, and oh, I want to bet
on my Wildcats going thirty two?

Speaker 5 (01:04:09):
And oh, can you do that for me? You tell
me what number you're looking for, and I'll do my
best to try and be able to get down whatever
you want. I'm happy to book that number on my
own kind.

Speaker 2 (01:04:19):
Sert love it, Okay, I can't help myself. How bad
is it? I mean, are they gonna have to fire pee? Like?

Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
What? This is?

Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Just sad?

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
I mean it was actually a good crowd, almost a
pro Raiders crowd for a home game at Allegiance Stadium today, Todd,
but it's just it's like, I don't know, It's like
you're walking on a treadmill and thinking you're making some
sort of headway and getting somewhere.

Speaker 5 (01:04:44):
Look, I mean, the main reason it felt like a
Raider's home crowd is so I don't think any of
us have ever met a Jacksonville Jaguars fan at any
point in our life. So it's tough for them to
come in vade Las Vegas. But there's no doubt this
is the Raiders scene is extremely disappointing. You get flashes
for stretches, so you brock Boers splits together. They're a
game for the ages. But just when you need the
Raiders to milk a little bit more clock, they decide

(01:05:04):
to run hurry up in the four minute offense. Why
they're snapping the ball on the other side of the
two minute warnings and something that I found baffling. And
but I guess when you have a quarterback that struggled
as much as Gino, you don't want to look a
gift horse in the mouth. You want to try and
put points on the board as quickly as you can.
And Arnie, if you're looking at that, by the way,
your Arizona Wildcats tomorrow they are a two and a
half three point underdog against the defending national champions.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
Ridiculous. I'm somebody you've screwed up there, But that's not
for me to jow job. I'll just make a boatload
of money last week before I let you go. Lane
Kiffin will be head coach of where next year.

Speaker 5 (01:05:36):
The old mis rebels. I actually don't think he's changing
as a drafted in Oxford. I think a lot of
it sounded like bluster and bravado before. But people I've
talked too close to the program believe Lane wants to
be there. He has a couple of kids in school.
He wants his daughter to finish up for high school
time in Oxford, and from what I've been told, his
young son is poise to play high school football for
David Cutcliff's son in that area as well. So I

(01:05:57):
think Lane remains at Old Miss. He can do no
wrong down there. It doesn't have the same pressure being
under the microscope that he would at some of these
other jobs that are open at LSU in Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Ding, Ding, Ding, I'm the exact same thing, Todd. In fact,
I was talking to a few people today and they
were telling me the exact same thing. In fact, the
concern level is so minimal in Ole Miss. I couldn't
even I couldn't even get to the people by Mike Wall.
Are you sure about this? Like, No, We're pretty sure.

Speaker 5 (01:06:21):
So in my opinion, I think he's bought a lot
of good will, especially if he can rectify wrong last
year where they lost that game to Florida is a
double digit favorite and found themselves on the outside looking
at a college football playoff. I mean, if they were
going to slip off, yesterday against South Carolina created a
perfect opportunity for that and a lot of the schedules
not a cake walk going forward. Everything is there for
the taking. What he's been able to do with the

(01:06:43):
Division two transfer in Trinidad Chambliss is pretty impressive, and
I think Ole Miss is going to find themselves inside
that twelve team college football playoffs going forward. I'm very
fascinated though, to see which of these programs moves fastest
and how Auburn, LSU or Florida can potentially land one
of the big names they may have on their wish
list before other teams swoop in and heal some of
their prize possessions.

Speaker 3 (01:07:04):
You know, guys, I heard Ben Maller at a break
saying that the rumor is a tua to the Raiders.
What do you think about that?

Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
Well, No, someone theorized that. Bill Barnwell theorized that on Yes, Okay, what.

Speaker 3 (01:07:16):
I heard what Ben Maller said.

Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
I mean, look, at this point, I don't rule anything
out to take Silver and Black. They'd love to set
themselves back further than any other franchise. But you know, Plank,
if that's the case, maybe the Dolphins are able to
trade plan Arnie's right, and you can get a real
co host and I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:07:35):
All right, Todd, have a great week, buddy, keep your
rocking man. Appreciate you.

Speaker 5 (01:07:38):
Aw, it's a pleasure.

Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
By The best way to uh to thank Todd for
being a part of the show is to go follow
him on Twitter. Mat to get Chris putting up with me.
I'm tough to put up with man. I am a
prima donna. Speaking of prima donna's here's another one our man.

Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
In the world of sports. How do you do it?

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
We all do every week?

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
How do yeer? How did you get that Arizona score
up there? From Saturday?

Speaker 8 (01:08:03):
Put up with this man. Seattle Seahawks are six and
two after winning at Washington today thirty eight to fourteen.
Sam Donald four touchdown passes on the first four drives.
It was twenty eight nothing Seahawks in the second quarter
thirty eight to fourteen the final he was twenty one
of twenty four, passing three hundred and thirty yards. Sam

(01:08:23):
Donald one of the few quarterbacks in Seahawks history to
have at least four touchdown passes in the first half
of a game. I've seen the list. Matt Hasselback almost
twenty years ago, did so. Jeff kemp as a replacement
player in nineteen eighty seven and Jim Zorn nineteen seventy
seven for Seattle. There's your list. Jacksonville, in overtime won

(01:08:46):
at Las Vegas thirty to twenty nine. Raiders missed a
two point pass at the end. Can little Jacksonville kicker
booted a sixty eight yard field goal, the longest in
NFL history. The record had been sixty six yards, said
Baltimore's Justin Tucker four years ago. Now Brandon Aubrey of
Dallas has kicked a sixty four yarder this season and

(01:09:07):
a sixty five yarder last year. Tampa Bay's Chase McLoughlin
in September had a sixty five yarder. Sixty eight is the.

Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
New record played in his foot too? How about that?

Speaker 8 (01:09:17):
Of course Tom Dempsey for many decades had the NFL
record set for the Saints nineteen seventy when he kicked
a sixty three yard field goal. I believe the goal
posts were at the front of the end zone back yes,
so actually he kicked it it roughly the same area
where Cam a Little booted it. Today it's just the
goalpost farther back now. Josh Allen and Company six and two.

(01:09:41):
Buffalo at home beat Kansas City twenty eight twenty one,
Allen with three total touchdowns. In fact, he has seventy
nine career rushing touchdowns, including postseason. He has now passed
Cam Newton most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback including playoffs
in NFL history. And so the Kansas City Chiefs at
them all, but do not have the final playoffs they earlier.

(01:10:04):
I believe I heard that on this Show Me Jaguars
after the overtime win five and three, they currently own
the seventh and final spot the Chiefs at eight. They're
five and four at the moment. Rams beat New Orleans
thirty four to ten, Matthew Stafford four touchdown passes. San
Francisco won at the New York Giants thirty four to
twenty four, Christian McCaffrey a touchdown run and a touchdown catch.

(01:10:27):
This means the Giants coach Brian Dabole the first coach
in a while to start three straight seasons at two
and seven or worse. The Bengals Bruce Coslet had done
that in the late nineteen ninetes. Well, the Bengals. Let's
let's get to that Cincinnati game. Chicago on a last
minute long touchdown where tackling was optional, beat the Bengals

(01:10:48):
forty seven to forty two Joe Flacco and defeat four
touchdown passes three turnovers. So there had only been one
team in NFL history to do what the Bengals have
now done, That is lose back to back games even
though you score at least thirty eight points in each
of the two games. Forty seven to forty two. The

(01:11:09):
loss at home today Bengals lost to the Jets, blowing
it in the fourth thirty nine thirty eight. A week ago. Apparently,
the nineteen sixty six Giants had two similar high scoring
affairs that they lost. Well, I can't say similar because
one of those finals they lost seventy two to forty one.

Speaker 3 (01:11:29):
One of those weeks.

Speaker 8 (01:11:30):
As for the Bears, the game winning touchdown catch to
Colston Lovelytt. He had six catches, one hundred and eighteen yards,
two touchdowns. Can you name the last Bears rookie tight
end that had one hundred yard receiving game.

Speaker 1 (01:11:42):
Mike Ditka. Mike Ditka, it was Mike.

Speaker 8 (01:11:45):
Ditka himself in nineteen sixty one. I knew that road
wins for Minnesota and Carolina for the Chargers as well.
New England won at sixth straight, beating Atlanta twenty four
to twenty three. Broncos won their sixth straight, getting a
field goal on the final play for a win at
Houston eighteen fifteen. Steelers were ahead of the Colts twenty
seven to ten with under five minutes left twenty seven

(01:12:07):
to twenty the final. Auburn fired coach Hugh Freeze. South
Carolina fired offensive coordinator Mike Schula. Nebraska quarterback Dylan Royola
is reportedly out for the year with a broken leg.
The first college football playoff rankings come out Tuesday. Selection
Sunday is December seventh, which is only about a month
away now. The top seven stayed the same in the

(01:12:27):
new AP poll for what it's worth, with Ohio State
and Indiana ranked one two. Oklahoma moved up to number eleven,
Texas up to number thirteen. This Friday Night's on Fox TV,
USC host Northwestern and Kyle Larson won NASCAR Season Championship.
Denny Hamlin, going for his first Cup Series title, was
leading until a late caution. He led over two hundred

(01:12:48):
laps but finished sixth at Phoenix. Larson also won the
title in twenty twenty one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Back to you, right, thanks a lot, Steve de Seger.
All right, so from Todd fem Andy Steve. Got a
little bit more of Steve coming up here in just
a bit. Let meet a couple more tweets for you.
Stick a genius wanted playing show, every one, go follow
us at Fox Sports Radio. David Wrights, Arnie, what's the
best place in Tucson for a Jayhawk fan to get
a victory dinner next Saturday.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
No, you're not getting a victor You could have a
losing dinner because you ain't winning. That's for sure. That's
not going to happen. There's a lot of good places
in two sothing. Go eat, go, get Mexican food. That's
always the best down there. They have some good places
down there.

Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
But you don't have a place that you went to
all the time.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
Sanchez Burrito Factory. But I mean their burritos are like
the size of my arm. They're umongous. It was best.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
Nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 3 (01:13:34):
Oh, they're fantastic. They're great down.

Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
There, Alan Wrights, Chiefs and Ravens are making the playoffs,
aren't The Ravens are gonna win the North and the
Chiefs can catch Denver because for the West they still
play them twice.

Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
Yeah, this is an oprah where you make the playoffs
and you make the playoffs. It doesn't quite work that way,
my friend, because for those two teams to make the playoffs,
then then two teams don't make the playoffs and they
got to get eliminated and knocked out of it, and
that I don't see that happening.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Yeah, the Jaguars have cemented their spot in the eyes
of Arnie Spaniards. So yeah, that's shows today.

Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Yeah, yeah, the show's today.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
But there's this thing called it's this thing that you've
talked about, right, this very important source that you have.

Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
It's called common sense.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
Right and Doug Right. I like Arney's energetic optimism about
my Jags in the playoffs, even though he doesn't know
anything about the Jaguars. But I've been in this one
way relationship from day one. I have to say, the
Jags will find a way to jag and hurt me.

Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
Not this year. Maybe in the past, but not quite
this year. What makes them so different, Well, first of all,
they look different. Trevor Lawrence is finally getting the hang
of it. He looks like a real quarterback. He's not
getting ripped like he's some type of buzz out there,
you know what I mean, he's like you leading the team.
You don't believe me on that. You know you don't
like that or why?

Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
I don't think this was your take when they lost
to the Rams last week thirty five to seven.

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
But go ahead, I'm all ears, I'm all ears.

Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
You're what are you so anti Jacksonville for? Then? What
they what have they done to show you as like, except,
you know, have a pretty good year at five and three.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
They're beat up. Brian Thomas Junior got hurt today, they're
the best receivers. Travis Aten looks awesome. I just I
think that you m you looked at the standings and
decided that the show's tonight and you're gonna say the
Chiefs are over and you got out on a limb
and you don't know anything or care.

Speaker 3 (01:15:28):
Mahomes didn't look Mahomes didn't look so good today.

Speaker 2 (01:15:30):
Did he?

Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
Well, I mean, if you're gonna go by that theory,
how did Trevor Lawrence looked against the Rams? Well? The
show is today, so as all today? Well again, common sense?
All right, it's gonna break. Steve Sagret is gonna get it.
Caught up on the news, notes and tidbits from the
world of sports today, including some incredible numbers and some
gross ones as well. From that Packers performance against the Panthers.

(01:15:54):
It's all coming up, body and plank right here on
Fox Sports Radio. All right, heading down the home stretch
of hour or two with I'm playing key is Steve
de Sager.

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
What do we got tonight, Steve with the de segment.

Speaker 8 (01:16:04):
Well, we still have one more game this NFL weekend.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray out again Monday night with
the spring foot, so Jacoby Brissette due to start again
at Dallas, and Cowboys center Cooper bb due to return.
He's been on injury reserve with a bad ankle. Thursday night,
we had a Baltimore team winning. They were two and five.
They won easily at Miami twenty eight six, Dolphins two

(01:16:27):
and seven on a bye this week were the Browns
two and six and the Jets one in seven.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
Murray for two, I'm starting that rumor. What do you think,
Kylo Murray for tua? I do it in a heartbeat.
Let's go.

Speaker 8 (01:16:39):
Some people are saying it's too bad they can't do
something with Murray because the games at AT and T Stadium,
the guy just dominates in that say, I don't care
who's on the other side. He does have a history
in that place. Philadelphia at six and two on a
bye this week, Tampa Bay six and two on a
bye this week. We got the Chiefs Bills matchup again today.
This is the tenth time they've played each other playoffs concluded,

(01:17:01):
just since the start of this twenty twenty season, and
they said on the broadcast they're due to play each
other again next year too, in the new stadium next
door in Buffalo, because next year is when the AFC
West teams are all playing Buffalo's division. Jacksonville quarterback Trevor
Lawrence was playing today despite an illness. They had to
after the fine to the Ravens. Make sure to tell

(01:17:23):
everybody this morning, nothing to see here, but he's ill. There.
We don't get fined, right. Jacksonville won in overtime at
Las Vegas thirty to twenty nine. And we had a
Saints at Rams matchup that it was a matchup of
two NFL teams, but you know they were starting rookie
quarterback Tyler Shuck who played seven years of college football Oregon,

(01:17:45):
Texas Tech Louisville, but without a running game, they were
down twenty to three late in the first half thirty
four to ten RAMS the final. New Orleans quarterback Spencer
Ratler was bench during the last game as a pro.
His record is one and thirteen. I mentioned about the
Bears and the late finish with Colston Loveland. Not only
did he have over one hundred yards receiving. A rookie

(01:18:06):
running back was filling in for the injured DeAndre Swift.
Kyle Manunga one hundred and seventy six yards rushing. He
had one hundred yards on the ground in the first half.

Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
Of this game.

Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
Sitting on my fantasy bench.

Speaker 8 (01:18:16):
Oh, I started him gloriously. I started in today. Of course,
of course I started Jayden Daniels over Joe Flacco. But
that's another story. The Bears became the first team in
NFL history where you have a rookie rushing for that
much and in the same game a rookie with one
hundred yards receiving, And speaking of one hundred yards receiving,

(01:18:37):
it seems like that's a possibility for the forty nine
ers star running back almost every week. Christian McCaffrey had
twenty eight carries one hundred six yards rushing, but also
five catches for sixty seven yards. So this is ten
different games in his career where he's had it at
least fifty yards receiving and one hundred rushing. The only
other guys that have done that ten times at least

(01:18:58):
in their careers are Walter Payton and Marshall Folk. So
he's doing okay, thank you. And San Francisco is six
and three. They won at the Giants thirty four to
twenty four, and the Rams next Sunday at six and
two will be playing at the six and three forty
nine Ers. The Chicago win forty seven to forty two
at Cincinnati. Now, the Bengals had the worst defense in

(01:19:19):
the NFL going in. They were already allowing over thirty
one points a game. An average game against them is
over four hundred yards. They allowed five seventy six in
total offense today forty seven to forty two to the final.
The Chicago Bears, in their very long history, had never
won a game when allowing forty two points or more.

(01:19:40):
They had been oh and forty two until today when
they got the last minute touchdown to win at Cincinnati.
So the Bengals first team in the Super Bowl era.
So that's sixty years worth of games to in consecutive contests,
allow five hundred yards, at least thirty eight points, and
have zero tike takeaway in either game. It just doesn't end.

(01:20:04):
More on the Jacksonville game because the Raiders missed a
two point pass at the end lost by one. But
also the Raiders missed an extra point kick late in
the first half. Yep, maybe it shouldn't have gone to overtime.
And Atlanta lost missing an extra point kick at New
England with under five minutes. I saw that twenty four
to twenty three to the final. Now at six straight

(01:20:26):
wins for the Pats. Denver won on the final play
with a field goal. Six straight wins for the Broncos.
That was an eighteen final. At a eighteen to fifteen
final at Houston, Texans, quarterback C. J. Stroud left with
a concussion.

Speaker 6 (01:20:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
I saw Richard Sherman say he didn't think it was
a dirty hit.

Speaker 2 (01:20:45):
I thought it was pretty dirty, but he took a shot.
We'll see if he can get ready for next week.
What we learned is next here on Fox Sports Radios
to ground. All right, Power hour, let's go to here
on Fox Sports Radio. I noticed that you had a
lot of kind of interesting second page nuggets.

Speaker 1 (01:21:05):
I like to call them.

Speaker 3 (01:21:06):
Oh yeah, there's a lot of them.

Speaker 2 (01:21:08):
You brought up the college hoops getting started in Roman
numeral fourteen.

Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
Yeah, what, what's you know?

Speaker 1 (01:21:16):
The numeral fifteen is that I didn't bring more college basketball.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
Could I just say one thing real quick before we
get to all the Roman numerals. One romans I didn't
put down. I didn't put down on you. I added
it to the show late, and I meant to have
this earlier. Just thumbs up to Brad Marshaan and what
he is doing. You know, he took some time away
from the Panthers to help a buddy out. His buddy's

(01:21:42):
little daughter passed away from cancer, so he took a
couple of games off. He was coaching his buddies youth
hockey team while his buddy goes through funeral arrangements for
his daughter. And I know a lot of people are
paying attention that because it's hockey, but it just showed
you there are bigger than sports, So I just I
just wanted to say that because it is kind of

(01:22:04):
coming in under the radar, and I just think that's
a good thing to do, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
I think it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
This reminds me of the Casey case And have you
ever heard the outtake from the forty the Top forty countdown?
Whenever he's like, we have to go into a story
about a dead dog right after it? Why do you
want to start with the sad? I mean, already we
got football. I'm sorry, let's save it till the end
of the segment.

Speaker 1 (01:22:27):
What are you doing here?

Speaker 4 (01:22:28):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
Gosh, well, since you brought the whole show down, let's
go ahead and also give a tip of the cap
to one of my all time favorite broadcasters. Oh yeah, yeah,
And I'm not gonna lie. Kind of thought maybe he
had already passed, But about Trump, I did. I got
order of him in the years. Man, he hadn't been
around in a while, but I mean he was awesome.
Eighty years old, he had been They called him the

(01:22:54):
father of Cincinnati sports talk.

Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:22:55):
I thought that was Andy Furman, but I loved watching
Bob Trumpy on on Games Now. He'd always make me
mad because he'd do some Raiders games and he'd always
seemed to have something bad to say about the Raiders.
But I mean, Annie, I was a broadcasting legend, had
a great NFL career as well. He was what was
he NBC's main I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
I'm not you know, I really not into that whole thing.

Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
I remember him obviously, But nineteen eighty two Trump he
replaced Bill Walsh as the NFL's lead NFL analyst.

Speaker 1 (01:23:26):
He was with Dick Enberg.

Speaker 3 (01:23:27):
That's right, you remember him. I mean I remember him
as from my youth. It's it's just is strange because
I had not heard of him in a long time.
When they brought his name up, I actually Googledhi and
to see what he looked like again, I'm like, I
remember him. I want to see you know, I just
totally forgot all about him, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
By the way, and to follow back, the story on
Brad Marshant is absolutely incredible, So if you haven't had
a chance to read it yet, you know, do yourself
a favor a couple of minutes. But he scored a
goal too in honor of her, which was awesome, so
really really cool. From one of the true greats in
the NHL. Right now, All right, Arnie, it's that time

(01:24:04):
of the show. Yeah, where we share all the information
that we've cold throughout the programming throughout the day after
week nine, which we still have one more game.

Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
I know this. Where would you like to start? Well,
I'm gonna I'm gonna reiterate what I told you earlier
because I thought I was joking around. But after week
eight I told you this, and it's gonna be tough
because there's a couple of teams ahead of them. But
the Kansas City Chiefs are not gonna make the playoffs. Look,
I know people think, oh, they're going to get rights back,
which they've had them not for a couple of games,
and they're just gonna turn it on. I don't think
it's gonna be that easy for them, my friend. It's

(01:24:34):
a couple of teams out of them, Jacksonville, Okay, I
little reservations about them, but they do have.

Speaker 2 (01:24:40):
So much you sure as hell haven't sounded like it,
but they have somewhat of an easy schedule.

Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
I just think Kansas City is going to have a
tough time. They don't scare me. Look, I know the
Bills are a good team. Bills put up a good game,
but that offense for Kansas City, it's not like it's
joeing on all cylinders and I'm afraid of them. So
you better wake up Kansas City because I know we're
getting a lot of tweets on that ever since I
said it. You're not going to the playoffs? My friend?

Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
That is it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
But here's here's the interesting thing. Arn'tie Betty's job that
the Titans and the Raiders and who else A couple
of other teams wouldn't make the playoffs?

Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
The Jets and the Dolphins and the Browns, right.

Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
But when I'm like, well, if you're so sure about
the Chiefs and why not, well I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:25:23):
Put the Chiefs in that in that category. Okay, they're
not in that five like it, Baltimore is not going either.
So anybody I know somebody text in that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
Is that your list? Are they on the you quit
your job list?

Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:25:37):
Yeah, absolutely, they're done? So or it's over for the
Baltimore Ravens. It's O V E R.

Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
How many times have you actually bet your job and lost?

Speaker 3 (01:25:45):
Do you know how many times I've said that it's
over for a team. Uh, and I've been wrong zero
When I say it's o v e R, it's O
v R for that team.

Speaker 1 (01:25:56):
Have you looked at the upcoming schedule for the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (01:26:00):
No, I have not.

Speaker 1 (01:26:01):
Okay, Arnie, who knows about Minnesota after this week?

Speaker 3 (01:26:06):
Well, I do. That's gonna be a tough game.

Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
Then they go to the Browns. They have the Jets,
and they have the Bengals. In fact, they got the
Bengals in two of three weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:26:14):
Yeah, that's gonna be a problem. But Patriots and Packers
and Steelers. I see you're not bringing up twice.

Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
But that's at the end of the year. That's four
wins probably right there. So that gets Baltimore at seven and.

Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
Five, and then give them four losses makes it seven.

Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
Well, if they get those four wins, you don't think
they got a little momentum going.

Speaker 3 (01:26:36):
No, not really, I'm not worried about that when you're
beating up on a bunch of Patsy's, especially when you
have Pittsburgh twice, green Bay and the Patriots.

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
But I thought you weren't Pebyburg. I thought you want
a big believer in Pittsburgh either.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
Well, that was a long time ago. Now today's the show.
They're a little bit better.

Speaker 2 (01:26:51):
They're a little bit better because they did what. They
beat the Colts today after losing back to back games.

Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
To the who do you know who?

Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
The steel the who the Steelers? You know they lost
back to back games? See before the Colts game today?

Speaker 1 (01:27:05):
Know who they was?

Speaker 3 (01:27:06):
Back to back games? I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:27:06):
The Bengals and the Packers.

Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
Let's know what Shane loves into the Packers who.

Speaker 1 (01:27:12):
Just lost to the Carolina Panthers at home today.

Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
They're a hitting miss team, the Packers.

Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
You have know you are so tap dancing right now.
You're gonna change your opinion next week too. It's like
I told you, guys, the Steelers stink. They're not a
very good football team. The Steelers are not going to
the I can hear you next week. It's so wide
open in the AFC. Considering you just said, there's only
eight teams back playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:27:33):
Right out of those eight teams, considering, I think the
team that should be the favorite in the AFC is
like a five seed right now, the Buffalo Bills, not
even winning their division. I still don't think the Colts
are the favorite. I wouldn't put the Patriots or Denver
or Pittsburgh. So it's kind of crazy right now in
the AFC.

Speaker 2 (01:27:48):
All right, we got a lot of uh, we got
a lot of takes to get to. So I want
to add this after week nine, I know this. Mike
McDonald is that dude, and I didn't know what to
think of his hiring. I love watching his team's play defense,
love watching him play defense. He is now won. This
is a note from Adam Schefter just moments ago. Eleven

(01:28:10):
of his first twelve road games as a head coach.
That's incredible. Eleven of his first twelve road games. He's
the third NFL coach in NFL history to do that.
And the Seahawks looked awesome tonight. Now, I mean again,
this is the NFL. It is a week to week league.
But as Arnie likes to remind you, yea, the show

(01:28:33):
is tonight. This is now a three game losing streak,
all right, three game winning streak, excuse me, by the Seahawks.
And next week they get an Arizona Cardinal team that
I don't really know what's going on with Arizona and
is Kyler can't go, but they even announced that he
wouldn't start before we knew he couldn't go, and that
Jacoby Brissett would be the starting quarterback. So I think

(01:28:55):
Sam Darnold is heisman listen to me, is an MVP candidate.
And I think the Seahawks are a problem in the
West right now, Arnie, there's six and two, six and two.
I think they're a problem in the NFC as well.
But again, I'm trying to pump the brakes a little bit.
I'm trying to stay calm. They still have to continue
to develop the running game Jackson Smith and Jigba looks

(01:29:16):
like a number one with an absolute rocket ship of
his backside.

Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
I'm a fan, and Mike McDonald's done a great job.

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
So after a week and nine, I know this the
Seahawks are legit and I was slow to buy into it,
but now I'm all in on Sam darn He's done
to credible.

Speaker 3 (01:29:34):
Yeah, I want to see who you're putt in this sentence.
After week nine, I know this. This team is the
most disappointing team in the NFL. Which team is that, Chris?
The Las Vegas Raiders? But that's because I'm on lower
road right right? But who do you think it really is.

Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
Let's see the most disappointing team in the NFL so
far this season, Washington could be considering that conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:29:56):
They were probably the I would just put them in
number two.

Speaker 1 (01:29:59):
Who'd you a number one?

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
The Atlanta Falcons. I mean, all the time I thought
they were going to win the division. I thought this
was a Panigs. This is good as he's gonna show
you why he's the starter. And Robinson, I mean, my goodness,
I've never seen a big time running back get the
ball so many times and not finding an end zone
or something, and it's like, where are the points coming from?
Are the Falcons not the biggest disappointment this year in

(01:30:23):
the NFL at maybe you could put Miami there, but
they didn't have expectations that Atlanta had.

Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
I thought, outside of you, I don't know would you
would you say Baltimore is fair to put in there?

Speaker 3 (01:30:32):
Yeah, but again, you know they've had injuries so and
the same thing you know with some of the other
teams like Washington, when their quarterback's gone for four or
five games, you know, maybe they still should be better.
But Atlanta's really has that any injuries to their quarterback
or running back position.

Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
Well, I mean they did Kirk Cousins had to start
against you guys.

Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Yeah, yes, right, right, right right.

Speaker 1 (01:30:55):
But I would agree with you. I would agree with
you on that front.

Speaker 2 (01:30:58):
I don't I don't think that there are as many
teams that you can look at and call them as
disappointing as the Falcons. They might have even were they
the favorites to win that division when the season started.
I think I don't know if they were. Yeah, if
they weren't, they were at the very least the second pick,
all right, yeah, after Week nine.

Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
I know this.

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
I'm all on positivity here, but I think we need
to start buying into the Patriots a little bit more
than we have already.

Speaker 6 (01:31:22):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:31:22):
It was just a one point win, right and granted
they still have some work to do against teams with
a winning record. Yes, they beat the Bills, but there
are other wins this season. Miami who stinks, Carolina, New
Orleans stinks, Tennessee stinks, the Brown stink, The Falcons kind

(01:31:43):
of stink. I don't know what to make of them,
because their toughest games might still lie ahead of them.
But Arnie, are we are we buying them as a
playoff contender. Yes, are we buying them as a super
Bowl contender yet? Don't know about that in twenty twenty five.
But you feel like the Founders being laid where they're
going to be a problem twenty six, twenty seven, twenty eight,

(01:32:03):
maybe for years to come.

Speaker 3 (01:32:04):
And that's killing me really that that just destroys me
when when I see them do that, and I hate
them so much, the Patriots, I just can't see them continue.
I was enjoying it so much when Tom Brady left
and they started to lose, you know, I was enjoying that.
Now it's it's swung on the other foot where my
Dolphins sucked and the Patriots are good.

Speaker 1 (01:32:24):
That's gotta be tough. All right, You got any more
you want to hit that?

Speaker 2 (01:32:27):
You are?

Speaker 4 (01:32:27):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:32:27):
Week nine? I got about three more here all right?

Speaker 3 (01:32:29):
After week nine? I know this. There's not good races,
and I told you this earlier for the playoffs. I know,
we're just halfway through. There's good races for some of
the divisions, though I enjoy that. And matter of fact,
in case you didn't know this, the polls are in
and the Chargers have won the AFC West. So that's
what the That's what our inside sources are telling us. Chris.

(01:32:52):
After nine weeks, the polls are in, the numbers are in.
Looks like the Chargers are going to win the AFC West.
Congratulations the saga, how huh you don't like the Chargers
or give me grief on the Chargers. Now, you told
me that you didn't even think bo Nicks was a
good quarterback for Denver. I told you the Chiefs are done.

(01:33:14):
They win it by default. Chris, do you not know?

Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
Come on now, well, did you not just see what
happened today?

Speaker 6 (01:33:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
You know you look Chargers.

Speaker 3 (01:33:23):
Well, look you can't look great every weekend. No no, no, no, no, yeah,
Alter that hurts. Yeah, that does hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
And did you see how they were when he was gone?
Like I mean, Arnie, these are easy little dots to connect.
I mean, I'm not ready to claim anyone in the
West try now, especially the Chargers.

Speaker 1 (01:33:40):
And as much as I like, I think the SEGA.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Would even agree you, I can't let Joe Alt go
down and just sit here and be like, oh, yeah,
they're won in the West, They've won it.

Speaker 8 (01:33:49):
It is over, I mean massive difference, Chris, And it
was today he got I like the way, no.

Speaker 3 (01:33:55):
Matter who I bring up to win the AFC, you're
always knocking them down, all right, So nobody's gonna win
the AC How about that for those of whotive you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
Brought up the Chargers to win the West when they
just lost their starting left tackle and looked like dog
crap today against the Titans.

Speaker 8 (01:34:09):
But you will go ashround tackle cart it off rolled
up on with the angles. So it's a reaggravation of
the ankle injury.

Speaker 3 (01:34:16):
If the Chargers aren't gonna win it, and the Colts
and the Patriots aren't gonna win it, and the Broncos
are gonna win it, and the Steelers aren't gonna win it,
who's gonna win it? They're just the Bills.

Speaker 1 (01:34:25):
I mean, you haven't mentioned the Chiefs or the Bills yet.

Speaker 2 (01:34:28):
You've you've tried to bury the Chiefs, and now I
think you realize that that's not the best move to make.

Speaker 1 (01:34:34):
I think you've talked yourself out.

Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
Of that one, Einstein, And you know you think I'm crazy,
but I'm too smart for everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
I don't think that's how that thing has worked out.
On this program, and listen, you're welcome to have all
these hot takes that you want. But I mean, we're
sitting here as two guys that live the AFC West
and both telling you that, like, I don't think you
can claim anything is over right now.

Speaker 1 (01:34:56):
Now you might be able to go back in five
weeks from now.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
And we even with out Joe Old if he's out
for a while, they're able to protect Justin Herbert, which
would be shocking because they couldn't do it without it.

Speaker 8 (01:35:06):
But by the way, it's yet again Justin Herbert with
nobody in front of him and nobody behind him, because
recently they were on their sixth and seventh offensive tackles
in the first seven weeks, right third and fourth running backs.

Speaker 3 (01:35:20):
I didn't know if you guys heard about this. There's
a new thing and we could do we could double
check this to Sega. Look this up. There's a new
thing called trades, and you can actually trade for people
in the.

Speaker 8 (01:35:30):
NFL offensive lineman.

Speaker 1 (01:35:31):
Don't you're trying to work and move for a left tackle.
Go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
Just don't know if you guys know about this, But
the trading deadline is Tuesday, So up until Tuesday, you
can say, hey, we got hurt in this situation. Here's
a guy that we would really like. Maybe we'll go
get him. How about that?

Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
Hear a lot about those big left tackle trades that
take place in the trade leve line.

Speaker 8 (01:35:53):
I know that Justin Herbert got hit eleven more times today.
I believe when Denver was in LA he got hit
fourteen times. We've said it before on this show. He's
on pace Herbert in his first six seasons to get
hit six hundred times. And this is a team that's
going to be hosting the Steelers and want next Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:36:11):
Now, if I was a bad team and they wanted
my left tackle, let's do it. Give me, give me
a give me a couple of good picks, and let's go. Baby,
Let's do it.

Speaker 2 (01:36:20):
We'll see how that pans out. Tuesday is the trade deadline.
With that after week nine, I know this. I do
think we're going to see a very active trade deadline.

Speaker 1 (01:36:28):
I was real three to you.

Speaker 3 (01:36:29):
Now, huh, all of a sudden, changing your mind?

Speaker 2 (01:36:33):
What do you mean changing my mind?

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
I talking you. They don't. I'm not saying the left
tackle is going to be traded. Can you not let
me finish my take?

Speaker 2 (01:36:41):
I mean, I have to listen to all your ridiculous
hot taking this this whole program, and I try to
make common sense and I'm a moron, But you've seen
since October one this year, there's already been seven trades
that have taken place, which is two deals behind last
year's pace and one ahead of the league's twenty twenty
three pace, and exactly where they were number wise in

(01:37:03):
twenty twenty two. So you've already seen a lot of
moves since October one. I'm I'm telling you what I
think you're gonna see a busy trade deadline. I think
teams like the Raiders might become sellers now because they're
not any good. It'll be interesting to see what happens
with some of the veterans out there. Well, Jacoby Myers
is the name at the receiver position.

Speaker 8 (01:37:23):
Titans lost again. They could trade the rest of their
secondary and.

Speaker 2 (01:37:27):
Jeffrey Simmons, even though I guess he's not really going anywhere.
But I think I think there's going to be a
very active trade deadline coming up on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaker 1 (01:37:35):
Anywhere else you want to go on, I think you're
talking again.

Speaker 8 (01:37:39):
This is we never been hot Stove League, or you know,
end of July for baseball, it's not.

Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
What were big trades that happened in the NFL right
before trade deadline? Any big names.

Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
At Hooper Ones, right, yep, Mark Cooper the Raiders trade
get traded right before the trade deadline.

Speaker 8 (01:37:56):
Not quite the same reason, but yeah, that's a big trade.
When he told his coach to go run that play himself,
I think that was done trade deadline or not.

Speaker 1 (01:38:09):
Here is what?

Speaker 2 (01:38:10):
Here is what yeahoo put together for the ten biggest
inn season trades. You want to guess what number one was?
By the way, Eric Dickerson is on here, by the way,
nineteen eighty seven seven.

Speaker 8 (01:38:23):
Yeah, but he was just going anyway.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
It's not right exact.

Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
We're talking about the Herschel Walker trade in nineteen eighty
nine was a trade deadline trade.

Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
Did you know that?

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
Really?

Speaker 8 (01:38:32):
In the draft picks?

Speaker 2 (01:38:33):
Yeah, nineteen eighty nine. McCaffrey to the forty nine ers.
Yeah there, that was in twenty two, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Rams a couple of
years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:38:42):
Marshaw Marshawn got traded to the Seahawks on the trade deadline.
Nobody cares except for me about Mike Haynes, who got
traded to the Raiders. Bobby Lane got traded the Steelers
of the trade deadline. Oh, Hugh Jackson going out and
getting Carson Palmer back in twenty eleven whenever the Raiders
gave up to first round picks for him. You guys

(01:39:03):
traded Mika Fitzpatrick to the Steelers a couple of years
ago in twenty nineteen and got him back. And here's
my personal favorite, the Jimmy Garoppolo trade was a trade
deadline trade.

Speaker 3 (01:39:12):
Oh geez, So you forget about some of the big names,
well nuts, notable names that got traded right before.

Speaker 8 (01:39:20):
The none of which were offensive tackles too.

Speaker 2 (01:39:22):
Yeah, exactly. I just mentioned through them all, there wasn't
a single offensive lineman that well that.

Speaker 3 (01:39:26):
Were in the top ten. I'm sure there were eleven
through twenty yeah probably.

Speaker 1 (01:39:30):
So all right, quick break when we come back. We
got highlights.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
Arnie's picks are around the corner, and that roman numeral
rundown is just getting checked off.

Speaker 1 (01:39:37):
It's busy Sunday night and to a Monday morning.

Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
Right here on Fox Sports Radio, we've talked about the
craziness today of the Bengals Browns game. Arguably one of
the wildest final minute and a half, two minutes that
we've had. It looked like the Bears were good, the
Bears were set and they were gonna win this game.

Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
And then second on a goal.

Speaker 9 (01:40:00):
From the nine fifty eight seconds to go, the Bengals
trail the Bears by six points. Placo ready for the
shotgun snap he catches short drop firing into the end
zone cat by Andre Yo Seevash.

Speaker 1 (01:40:14):
The Bengals have tied it.

Speaker 9 (01:40:16):
Flacco raising both arms triumphantly, and now an extra point
by money Mack could give Cincinnati a forty two to
forty one lead with fifty four seconds to go.

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
And then safeties are back deep but Noonja motions left.

Speaker 3 (01:40:33):
They're blitzing. It's picked up.

Speaker 10 (01:40:35):
Caleb Broz hit the field, lovely catch, breaks away the
thirty glove, the twenty glove, the ten build an end
zone touchdown Bears Coaston Lovelin on a throw by Kayleb
Williams on the blitz with seven gen seconds to go,
and the Bears reclaim the lead.

Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
Forty seven forty two hits.

Speaker 10 (01:40:55):
A fifty eight yard strike to the Michigan rookie had
his second touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
He outran the Bengals here in the jungle. The Bears
have the lead again.

Speaker 1 (01:41:06):
You know, Ringles and Bears Radio Network for that go ahead.

Speaker 3 (01:41:10):
Even though it was just Cincinnati, and I know it's
no big deal, you know, when they're without their quarterback.
I kind of thought this was like a coming out
party for Caleb Williams because it was on the road.
Years past, they would have lost the game like this,
or he would have lost the game like this throwing
in an interception, but he didn't. He's got the Bears
at five and three. They're very much in the division,
and maybe it was kind of a coming out party
for Caleb. You've liked them all along.

Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
The statement is like a statement game for me, where
you kind of look and he's been questioned he's learning, yes,
but Ephraim hit this.

Speaker 1 (01:41:41):
On the head earlier today. He's learning a new offense.

Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
And I know that you are someone that believes, oh
it's football, just go throw the ball around, Just throw
it around, go around and turn around. It's like he's
learning a new language, and in the process he's learning
that he can't get away with some of the things
that he could do in cop or in high school.
And listen Lincoln Riley's system is a very quarterback friendly system.
This is two, but it's it's in a different way.

(01:42:08):
He completed what little over a little under sixty percent
of his passes there for two eighty today, had three touchdowns,
including the big one at the end night. I'm not
sitting here telling you the bear. I'm not trying to
get Jonas Knox too fired up. But they look good, man,
they look good now. Giving up forty two points did
Joe Flaco in four hundred and seventy yards?

Speaker 1 (01:42:27):
That scares me a little bit. But if you'll look
at the if you will look at the positive.

Speaker 2 (01:42:31):
Side, they did hold them to only three point yard
three point one yards per rush.

Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
So there's that for your bear.

Speaker 3 (01:42:36):
Started your team tomorrow, which one of these three quarterbacks
would you rather have? C j Stroud, Caleb Williams or Daniels?
Forget about the injury for oh.

Speaker 1 (01:42:47):
I was gonna say, well Janey.

Speaker 2 (01:42:48):
And by speaking of Jane Daniels, it is now confirmed,
which I don't know why we needed someone to confirm
this because we all saw it. But Adam Schefter said
he did, in fact suffer a dislocated left elbow. He's
scheduled to undergo an m RI I on Monday to
confirm the injury and to help determine how long he'll
be sidelined. I would probably have taken Caleb Williams. But

(01:43:10):
I mean, Jane Daniels looked really good and people are
starting to figure out a little bit of Cliff Kingsbury
system and Daniels has been dinged up.

Speaker 3 (01:43:17):
But yes, who would you take of those three? I
would probably take Caleb Williams. Remember I told you that
Daniels may have the c. J. Stroud Award that after
your first year that we put you in the Hall
of Fame. He came back and didn't have a strong
second year. And I know he's been hurt, but certainly
he's underwhelmed this year. There's no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
All Right, We got Arnie s Fix right around the corner,
the best tweets and X submissions to the show next,
but first Steve Sager with one final look at everything
that happened in the world of sports to night.

Speaker 1 (01:43:47):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
Steve?

Speaker 8 (01:43:48):
You mentioned the Bears win forty seven forty two at
Cincinnati with the last minute touchdown. Caleb Williams for the
Bears did have three touchdown passes and a touchdown reception.
The Bears, so seeing the worst defense in the NFL,
did come out on top, even though the Bengals ran
back the opening kickoff for a touchdown in this one.

(01:44:08):
By the end of the game, there were seventeen total
kickoffs in that one, only two touchbacks out of the seventeen.
The Sunday night game went to Seattle now six and
two one at Washington thirty eight to fourteen. The Jaden
Daniels elbow injury occurred mid fourth quarter, down thirty eight
to seven. He had ten carries fifty one yards in
a score Seahawks led twenty eight nothing in the second quarter.

(01:44:30):
Sam Darnold was perfect in the first half, sixteen of sixteen,
two hundred and eighty two yards, touchdown passes on the
first four drives, and they kicked a field goal at
the end of the first half. Jackson, Smith and Jigba
finished with eight catches one hundred and twenty nine yards.
It was thirty one seven at the half. Seahawks had
three hundred thirty yards of offense just in the first half.

(01:44:52):
Buffalo is six and two. Next Sunday, Buffalo's at Miami
Buffalo b Kansas City twenty eight twenty one. Cannas Cities
off next week and Rashi Rice did have a touchdown
run four catches for eighty yards, but Josh Allen three
total touchdowns. Tight End Dalton kincaid six catches just over
one hundred yards in a score James Cook one hundred
and fourteen yards rushing. Jacksonville won an overtime at Las

(01:45:15):
Vegas thirty to twenty nine. Raiders missed an extra point
kick late first half, missed a two point pass at
the end, but they did have tight end Bronck Bowers
on the field three touchdowns. He had twelve catches one
hundred and twenty seven yards. Here, Jacksonville was down nine
to six to start the fourth quarter. Cam Little of
the Jags had kicked a sixty eight yard field goal

(01:45:35):
at the end of the first half, a new NFL record.
He boots a forty eight yarder late in regulation to
tie it. Las Vegas linebacker Devin White did have sixteen tackles. Thursday,
Vegas plays at Denver, which is seven and two. Broncos
have won six straight. They won a close one at
Houston eighteen fifteen. Kayimi Fairbairn, the Texans kicker, was five

(01:45:55):
for six on field goals. He missed an early fifty
one yarder. Houston was still up fifteen to seven early
fourth quarter, but the Broncos won on a field goal
on the final play eighteen to fifteen. Cortland Sutton had
one catch in that game. It was a touchdown. This
is against a Houston defense first seven games this year
only allowed about one hundred points total, a team record.
Fifteen points per game was all they were given up

(01:46:17):
at this point, and the game was tied fifteen to fifteen.
Late New England won at six straight game twenty four
to twenty three over Atlanta as the Falcons missed an
extra point kick with under five minutes to go. The
Patriots defense was allowing just seventy six yards rushing per game,
best in the AFC. They allowed just seventy one on
the ground to Robinson and the Falcons. Pittsburgh was up

(01:46:39):
on the Colts twenty seven to ten with under five
minutes left, twenty seven to twenty the final impressive if
you've seen the Steelish pass defense this year, ranked worst
in the league. Colts had the top offense in the
league thirty four points a game. They had Jonathan Taylor
with fourteen touchdowns already this season. As many as five
different teams held him on under fifty yards rushing. Steelers

(01:47:02):
now five and three. Colts fall to seven and two
Chargers in Carolina each one on the road Minnesota and
San Francisco as well. Rams beat New Orleans thirty four
to ten. Kyle Larson won NASCAR Season Championship. By the way,
the first college football playoff rankings come out Tuesday. Yes,
the NFL trade deadline Tuesday. Janick Center became number one

(01:47:22):
in men's tennis again, winning the final at the Paris Indoors.
NHL Detroit, a shootout winner at San Jose, NBA Oklahoma
City seven and zero, after ripping New Orleans late game
to the Lakers one thirty to one, twenty over Miami,
Luka Doncic a triple double. And we did mention earlier
Auburn fired coach Hugh Freeze.

Speaker 1 (01:47:40):
Back to you, Na, Steve.

Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
Hew freezes out, and if there were some rumors that
maybe he Freeze was going to get an opportunity to
finish the season, But I mean, you can't lose a
Kentuck to you and keep your job.

Speaker 8 (01:47:54):
And it's been many a bad conference game as well.
And as long as they don't, he's his bank account.
I'm sure he's just fine with it, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:48:03):
This is more.

Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
Roberts played like three coaches over the last three years.
They've paid out like fifty million in buying coaches out.
It's crazy, I think Florida. By the way, I'm going
to make up another rumor, John Morantu to the Lakers, Well,
this is just one that you're making up.

Speaker 8 (01:48:19):
Conduct detrimental to the team?

Speaker 2 (01:48:21):
Is it because of his comment that he made yes,
that and also because what's going on with this whole
Lebron thing.

Speaker 3 (01:48:27):
I mean, what is Lebron really not hurt?

Speaker 8 (01:48:30):
Or he should be playing backing out for weeks?

Speaker 3 (01:48:33):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:48:34):
What's know?

Speaker 3 (01:48:35):
In a week they said that he may never play
for the Lakers again. Who is one one insider was saying.

Speaker 8 (01:48:41):
That, Well, meanwhile, Luka Doncich has scored more points in
the first four games of a Lakers season than any
Laker ever.

Speaker 3 (01:48:48):
Yeah, until Lebron ward on Jerry.

Speaker 8 (01:48:50):
West, more than Kobe to start a season any Laker ever.

Speaker 3 (01:48:54):
Woow.

Speaker 2 (01:48:55):
And he was absolutely atrocious from three point range tonight.
He was one of eleven from three tonight, one of
eleven from behind the three point line tonight, and a double.
That's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:49:08):
Have a great week, Steve, appreciate him.

Speaker 4 (01:49:09):
Man.

Speaker 2 (01:49:10):
All right, let's say some of the best tweets to
the show tonight. You can always get in touch with
us even when the show's over at Stinking Genius one
at Plank Show, and everyone go.

Speaker 1 (01:49:17):
Follow us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:49:20):
Eric writes, I know Arnie gets away with his flip
flop opinions, but come on, Arnie, was it last week
or two weeks ago where you said Caleb was a
bust and it is ov R for him.

Speaker 3 (01:49:30):
No, there's not true, not true. Didn't say that all.
Matter of fact, I thought maybe the Bears could be
the one team the go from worse the first. I said,
if we were going to pick a team before the year,
maybe the Bears were gonna go worse the first.

Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
So you're saying that if we went back looking, there
wouldn't be evidence of you calling Caleb Williams a bust.

Speaker 3 (01:49:49):
No, you're not gonna go back looking anyway. But no,
there be no evidence of that.

Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
But I think you have I know you have as
a matter of fact, and nature Boy writes, I heard
a bold of prediction on FSR. The host said, the
Mahomes has already played in his last super Bowl. Oh
that is a good one, That is all.

Speaker 3 (01:50:07):
That's a good one. But if I said it, I'd
be a lunatic.

Speaker 2 (01:50:10):
Oh, which it's a moronic take, don't get me wrong,
but it's a good like hot take.

Speaker 1 (01:50:14):
Like on the hot take scales.

Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
It's not quite up there with Rob Parker wanting to
fire Andy Reid the day after the Super Bowl loss,
and it's just below you wanted to give Ryan Fitzpatrick
a lifetime contract.

Speaker 1 (01:50:26):
At Every Week's in Tampa.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Yeah, but yeah, it's shady Sean for twenty cam Ward
is a complete bust. Trade him for whatever you can.
This team is complete bum from ownership all the way
down to the field. Everybody's gotta go on Tuesday. This
is a fire sale.

Speaker 3 (01:50:48):
Can't play. If he was on obviously a better team,
just like a five hundred team. Would we see so
much I don't know potential out of him than.

Speaker 1 (01:50:57):
What I say?

Speaker 6 (01:50:58):
What do you?

Speaker 1 (01:50:59):
I say?

Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
Yeah, I see flashes, But he's such on a he's
on such a bad team it's it's hard to see,
you know, through all the uness going on right now.

Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
To be honest, I agree, Uh mustang mania. My guy
down in Dallas has checked in. Hey, guys, he writes, Guys,
I was at the Eagles concert last night at the
Spear or Spear Sphere in Las Vegas. Get guess who
announced that Dodgers had taken the lead. It was Don
Hindley himself, and everyone in the arena who was a

(01:51:29):
Dodger fan was actually watching the game in their lap
while listening to the concert.

Speaker 3 (01:51:35):
Now love that.

Speaker 2 (01:51:37):
I like the fact that like Don Hindley, who doesn't
come across to me, is like a big sports guy
would now say, guys, guess what the Dodgers just took
the lead and the eleventh inning or tenth any whatever
it was. Oh, let's go. Here's one from let me
see where it's Marty McFly arnie at another row.

Speaker 1 (01:51:55):
Numeral is dabbo gone.

Speaker 2 (01:51:57):
I told someone today there's been so many fun hirings
slash openings that schools may choose to sit this cycle
out and retain their coach. Fifteen minutes later, the Auburn
News hit the coaching portal may be as active as.

Speaker 1 (01:52:10):
The player portal in the new era of college football.

Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
I think Dabo's gone also was partly he he probably
wants to be gone. There's going to be so much
negativity around that program right now, and he you see
what he's good and said over the last couple of
years or if you guys don't want me, you know,
and he's been very defensive and rightfully.

Speaker 2 (01:52:32):
So, Yeah, he'll be able to get a job. Someone
will hire him. I was about to take a job.

Speaker 3 (01:52:36):
There's some I don't think there's one or two power openings, Chris,
you know that, But for the most part, everything's kind
of like the middle of the road power conferences. Yeah,
I think like Florida is a big time job.

Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
Oh oh, I thought you said there's not any power openings.

Speaker 3 (01:52:53):
Sorry, there's Florida, Penn State, but the rest of them
U or LSU, but the rest of the more like okay,
you know, like a U C, l A or or
something like that. I think he could do him good,
you know, do Yeah, Well, isn't Franklin of vot Tiger?
Was that a rumor?

Speaker 1 (01:53:10):
I think that's a rumor that's out there.

Speaker 2 (01:53:11):
I think James Franklin's gonna have his choice of a
couple jobs, Vo Tech, maybe Oklahoma State. I think he's
gonna have some options out there. Do you think Giffin
is staying in the Old Miss? I do I think
Lane Kiff's staying at Ole Miss. I don't think there's
gonna be anything to worry about for ReBs fans.

Speaker 3 (01:53:26):
Well, who's taking all these jobs? Then who's good enough
after all these openings for grid out out the next
time that Matt.

Speaker 2 (01:53:32):
Ruhle's not leaving either to the next billion apier, you know,
So it's gonna be it's gonna be the guy that
everybody wants that is going to go there, and he's
gonna struggle. I think Wisconsin's going to be open to
I mean, I know there eighty came out and said
we haven't given him the kind of resources he needs.

Speaker 1 (01:53:49):
But usually when you say that, the ady gets whacked.

Speaker 3 (01:53:51):
Jed Fish, if he takes a job, he have an
opening in Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:53:55):
Too, exactly. Paul Wright hu Freeze was the worst hire
in Auburn history. This supposed to be a top fifteen job.
But until the boosters are told to get lost, we
will see more. Hugh Freezes at Auburn. You know, Les
Miles or Jimbo Fisher are getting that job. Well less Keith,
because less Is.

Speaker 3 (01:54:12):
I thought you Freeze deserved a chance at that job.
Am I wrong? What he did a good job at
what was it Liberty or something like that, I don't remember.

Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
Yeah, yeah, it was Liberty. Before then we got to
remember he was the up and comer at Arkansas State.
He crushed an old miss, but then he got in trouble.
He got in trouble and so he had to go
resurrect his coaching career. He did great at Liberty, but
still yearned for the SEC and when he went to Auburn.
I'll tell you what there is. You know they talk

(01:54:40):
about teams, how they look off the bus, the aesthetics.
There isn't a team that looks more like they can
kick your ass than Auburn. I mean, Arenie, they look
the part. They just some there's a disconnect somewhere, and.

Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
Then the work is going back to Texas, right, That's.

Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
Yeah, I think so, I think so.

Speaker 2 (01:54:54):
And late Night Drug Tester writes what direction is Kansas
City going in the twenty twenty six NFL Draft?

Speaker 1 (01:54:59):
Since they're out the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (01:55:00):
Yeah, you see, that's another person that agrees with me.

Speaker 2 (01:55:03):
All Right, when we come back Arnie's picks, we'll take
a song right here on Fox Sports Radio. I didn't
want to get out of here without tipping our cap
to history, Arnie. History in the Raiders Jaguars game. Yeah,
eight yards away, it's up there, it's out there, and
it's good. It's good for sixty eight. As the only

(01:55:23):
person in America who watched that entire game from start
to finish, Chris Myers, I don't know what was going on,
but he was trying to like shoehorn in song lyrics
every time he would go to break. I was like,
right now, the Jaguars only down sixty three, but they
don't really seem to have a peaceful, easy feeling.

Speaker 1 (01:55:43):
What was your song earlier, your hauling oe song song? Yeah,
I mean it's just it was random. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:55:49):
I don't know where it came from, but history history
for the Arkansas alum longest field goal ever, and it
was good by a couple of yards. It might have
been good from a little deeper. All Right, Arnie, I
know the only thing you're here for to nine is
your picks. You'll change like five times before next week,
and so take it away, staking genius all.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
I didn't get to my picks. I feel good, really
feel good. This week. I went to five and three
in college, four and six in the NFL, so I
gotta bounce back down college. I'm only gonna give you
like five games will stick in the top twenty five.
Like Northwestern plus the fourteen and a half on the
road at USC that's way too many points. Penn State

(01:56:27):
put up a good fight in the first half, but
they're not the same Penn State team. Give me Indiana
minus the fourteen and a half over Penn State. I
love BYU plus to ten and a half on the
road of Texas Tech. That's gonna be a three point
game either way. Jumping on Alabama minus ten and a
half against LSU, and I love me some Navy plus

(01:56:50):
twenty four and a half against Notre Dame. Matter of fact,
the last time I went to an Irish game, Navy
beat him in overtime, So we'll see if the same
magic happens. NFL taking Dallas minus three and a half
against the Cardinals, and for Thursday night, I like the
Broncos minus nine and a half over my Raiders, So

(01:57:12):
not looking good for my Raiders. There great, And you
know what tomorrow is, Chris. You do know what tomorrow is,
don't you?

Speaker 1 (01:57:19):
Monday?

Speaker 3 (01:57:20):
Just to start a college basketball Chris, that's right. Do
you know it starts at eight thirty in the morning.

Speaker 1 (01:57:27):
Are they doing that again this year?

Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
Yeah? Full games up and down the clock. So I
think it starts at eight o'clock Pacific time, I'm pretty sure.
But not a top twenty five game, you're pretty sure. Yeah,
there is a game at eight am. I just think
it's West Coast time. Anyway, My Wildcats play Florida. Now,
I know Florida is a good team. They have like

(01:57:49):
three of their returning starters and a couple of good
guys that transferred in, so it's certainly a deep team.
But they're playing my Arizona Wildcats. Look, even though we
have a lot of freshmen, we are loaded. We are loaded, Chris.
Matter of fact, we probably have two or three guys
that are like a first round pick in the NBA draft.

(01:58:12):
Whenever they come out, we are going to open up
the whole can of wo bass on them. Florida, You're
going down Arizona eighty three, Florida eighty So there you
have my pickste with the midge of please no longer
strictly for entertainment purposes only.

Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
Gosh outside of erin Tory is we're the only show
that probably even brought up college basketball this week. And
well done, thank you, thank you. Seven am Central Time.
Tomorrow Winthrop takes on Queens seven am a Central, so
five am on the West coast.

Speaker 3 (01:58:47):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (01:58:48):
If you guys want hoops, you get Winthrop and Queen's University,
and it's available, and it's available on YouTube. Followed shortly
thereafter at ten am by Bradley and Saint Bombs a venture,
So so five am and eight am Patrick, if you
want yourself some college basketball, Mary Mack, you got it
for you.

Speaker 3 (01:59:09):
By the way, our producer has never heard of an
officer and a gentleman. That's disgusting.

Speaker 1 (01:59:13):
So I just it's an old movie. Now, you know
what year it came.

Speaker 3 (01:59:17):
Out, nineteen ninety five, ninety but in nineteen eighty two.
Still a good movie.

Speaker 2 (01:59:25):
It's time going back a long time ago.

Speaker 1 (01:59:28):
You're going back now. We're getting ready to put the
fifty around that one.

Speaker 2 (01:59:34):
Yeah, you gotta be Kevy where you gotta realize whenever
you met Patrick wasn't even like a flimmer, and his
family's ignores Mary context And come on, I.

Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
Said, Mary Mack would love that movie.

Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
She would? Would she not?

Speaker 3 (01:59:47):
Or what?

Speaker 2 (01:59:47):
I don't know, man, I don't know Mary's got Mary
would probably like it. She's got unique taste. I think
she'd dig it a little bit. But I will say
this much as someone who loves close football games, Arnie,
this week was much better than last week.

Speaker 3 (02:00:00):
Oh hell yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
Last week the average margin of victory was eighteen points,
including the Monday night football blowout. We had a terrible
Sunday night football game. Well, even though the Sunday night
football game this week was bad. You had one score
games in the Bills and the Raiders and the Jaguars,
was greg and Broncos, Texans, Steelers, Colts, Patriots being the Falcons,
the Chargers holding off the Titans, Panthers upsetting the Packers,

(02:00:23):
and of course the craziness of the Bears Bengals. Let's
not forget the Vikings and the Lions. Ever so often,
it's not necessarily a great slate, but aren't he The
NFL flexes its muscle and you're like, Okay, I can
do this. This is why I got the red zone.
This is why we're trying not to talk about basketball
during this show. All right, man, We'll have a great week.
Good luck for your Wildcats too. And I'm glad I
got shoehorn in college basketball that lasts until March on

(02:00:48):
a November program. Big Ben Mallor is coming up next.
You all have a great week. This is Fox Sports Radio.
