Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh, let's go. Let's just go, big boy, let's go.
Let's go. Good news, good news. Yes, there is.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
No rain or snow or anything to affect my connection.
Are we good, Lorna, Are we good? Patrick Boy? Last
week we aren't. It's weird to be back here, right
because we did the super Bowl show, which is always
a fun it's a haul, it's it's a it's a boy,
I have I have fun with it.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
I don't know. That was a long one. That was
a long one. We didn't even get to recap anything.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
No, we did not zero literally and uh, we were
trying to bust it time wise. We pushed it as
long as we could. We had to take our final break.
I mean we had to and literally the game when
he touchdown comes when we're in break.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
But I was Arnie.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It was miserable here and it was affecting the connection
and it was affecting my TV. It was the worst
experience I've had trying to watch the super Bowl, but
maybe one of the best finishes we've ever had. So
it's been a fun week in recapping and we'll talk
about it. I actually kudos to you. I got the
run down. Yes, I think I'm pretty much gonna follow
(01:12):
this in your Roman numeral or woah, I think you
hit it. I think you knocked it out of the
park tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
One through thirteen. How about that?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Do you Okay, here's a question, Yeah, do you think
with Todd Furman coming up at now? Remember ideal in
God's time zone, the Central time zone, right, So when
Todd Ferman joins us at eleven twenty pm tonight, do
you think we'll get through every Roman numeral here this.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Evening by the time comes out. No, I just mean
you don't have that segment.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
So I'm saying throughout the three hours and knowing no,
I mean you don't have you don't have a pick
segment or what the hell are you gonna pick?
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Well, well, there's a couple of things to still pick on.
I mean there's a there's a few things out there
that I can get. I'm just kind of bumming life
without football. So I knew a long time ago I
was gonna be bummed out about this. Like three months ago,
I bought tickets to Matt Rife after this football season
ended to get you know, I have a little comedy
(02:07):
in my life. So I'm gonna go see that on Friday.
Do you know who Matt Rife is.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
He's a very controversial comic apparently, Yes.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yes he is.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
So we're gonna go ahead and drive down to the
Mohegan Sun and have a little fun on Friday night
and go go check him out.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
So that should be a blast.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Speaking of your social calendar, Yeah, before we I did?
Did I hear right? Patrick said? Lines are full. Everybody
wants to talk about this All Star game. And the
exciting is that our Twitter mentiones is blowing up where
everybody wants to talk about the n C are the
NBA putting its best foot forward this stupid weekend. But
I want to talk about your social schedule. I want
(02:45):
to talk about your calendar, your life choices, because as
we come to your live from the Tirack dot com studios,
tyraq dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection in over ten thousand
recommended installers, tire rack dot com the way tired buying
should be. Now both of us went and did other shows.
I kind of consider it to feel a little bit
(03:07):
cheated on. You have someone to do a show with
I do not, but I listen.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
That's fine. Nobody wants to work with you. I know.
Did I say that out loud? That's fine. I can
handle it. I'm a big boy.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
I'm sorry, but you and Jason Martin were doing a
show together, right. And by the way, first of all,
I love listening to you with other hosts because I
can tell whenever you're about to dump an s all
over something that they think is a really good angle.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
And I'll be like, oh, oh, I think I was.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
I was dialed in last night and Jason was laying
out you gotta feel like, and he's going on this
how you And I'm like, oh my gosh, he has
no idea what he's walking into right now. But I
heard you say to Jason Martin last night that you
got a new car this week.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, I got.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I got a hybrid. Yeah, because they well they say
to me, go ahead, help out the air, make the
air cleaner, go ahead, save yourself some money, don't you know,
go electric, go hybrid, you know, go ahead, and you know,
get with the times, don't don't be an old man.
So I got a Jeep Wrangler hybrid Sahara nice one
(04:12):
and It took me three hours to charge the whole
thing up. I finally get the whole thing charge up.
There's a charging station, like call a quarter mile from
my house, so I just leave it there, walk home,
get it charged up. I drive five miles to the
car washing back, and it went from one hundred percent
down the sixty percent. Oh, I get like, I get
(04:35):
like thirty miles to the full, not to the gallon
to like the killo water or whatever. I get like
thirty miles.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
I can't go anywhere. I don't.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
I have to get it's all gasoline. There's no way
you're gonna drive run if you if you turn on
the heat and it sucks up all the electricity, you know,
you turn on the heated seeds to heat and steering wheel,
it's all Been's bogus, man, I can't drive around. I
got to charge it for like three hours just so
(05:07):
I could drive ten minutes. It's a hybrid, I can't.
It's ridiculous as what it is. I wish somebody would
have told me about this.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
No, they're not gonna give you the facts. All right.
I'm sorry, dude. That stinks.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
So is it when when you say I'm I'm just
gonna tell you right now, there's gonna be a lot
of people that yell and scream at their radio right now,
right right. Doesn't it also have the option where you
put gas in it? I mean it's not, yes, yeah, okay, yes, yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
So it's a hybrid off gasoline, and my wife strictly
is gasoline. So so you know, we got that going.
So but I was I was like, oh, this is ridiculous.
I'm spending three hours. It's up at the charging station
and I can only go like five miles and it
takes up forty percent.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I'm like, I can't deal with something like this. I
can't do it. So I'm ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Now, will you take that car to the Matt Rife concert? Yeah,
slash shout, okay, yes, I'll.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Go ahead and drive it down there, so it's put
in some gasoline and and and drive away. I just
wish somebody would have told me this whole Oh make
the energy better, save yourself some money on gasoline, you know,
go ahead, and and well what about my time three
four hours plugging this thing in? Could you imagine if
I had to drive like thirty miles forty miles pull
(06:22):
over and plug it in for three hours. If I
wanted to make it all the way down just on
the electric, that's insane, ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
If something seems wrong, Arnie, I would take it. No,
there's nothing wrong. I'm telling you the truth.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
No, No, I'm not saying that you're doing something wrong.
It seems like it should last a little longer than that.
It seems like when you're driving maybe even wouldn't that
power it up to?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:43):
It powers up if you're not using the accelerator though,
So like if you're stopped in a red light for
I get twenty seconds, then maybe maybe you'll get like
a quarter percent.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
That's what I thought.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
I go, wait a minute now, but it's gonna it's
gonna charge jump on up to you not using it?
Speaker 2 (06:58):
When the hell am I not using the.
Speaker 4 (06:59):
Accel but I'm in a red light or stop side
and that first ploit second, it's it's just ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
There's gotta be car guy out there. Have you tweeted
about this?
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Have you got the help that typically x slash Twitter
is there to give you?
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Or have you not talked about this in social media yet?
Speaker 5 (07:17):
No?
Speaker 3 (07:17):
I've not talked about on So there's gotta be there's
gotta be car guy out there that can help Arnie
out tonight. It's tinking genius one. I'm at Plank Show.
Everyone should follow us at Fox.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
There's nothing you could do.
Speaker 4 (07:28):
I mean, if I want to plug it in my house,
it takes like seventeen hours to charge it up.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
I could see you out there with a power strip.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
I know, I know, I don't. That's not what it
plugs into. But it's like I get a power strip.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I tried to charge it at a Tesla station, but
it won't fit.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
I'm not gonna lie to you, guys. This is this
is a blind spot in my knowledge. There are certain
things I'm very dumb at that a lot of people
are very smart about the Roman Empire. I've never really
understood the fascination with that and ev slash electrical cars.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
So help Arnie out to right now.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I opened there on purpose because to me, you talking
about your new car and the confusion was infinitely more
entertaining Arnie than anything that I saw on Saturday. Well,
I guess what Friday, Saturday or Sunday from the NBA, right.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
You didn't you didn't dig any of that. I enjoyed
the festival time. I put Friday night. I think I've
been Saturday night. I remember the day stuff on.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
It wasn't the Futures game on Friday night or no.
I look, I thought that was the that was the
celebrity game.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
I'm right right.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
I enjoyed a little bit of that, but I didn't
watch it live. I enjoyed the three point shooting contest.
The Doug contest has played out, you know, the It's
just it's the same thing over and over again. Gee,
how about this, He's gonna jump over somebody. I've never
seen that happen before. What don't you light to basketball
on fire? And Duncan let's go ahead, take it to
(08:50):
the next step. The Curry versus a new Scoo. Is
that how you say it?
Speaker 6 (08:55):
As you?
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Yeah, I thought that was kind of cool. I enjoyed
that cool. Didn't enjoy anything about the game today. I
tried watching it for for more than like two seconds
at a time, and you know, people are shooting three
quarter shots and it's, uh, it's starting to get a
little crazy and ridiculous, and it's I don't know what
(09:17):
to do about it. So I just don't want to complain, Chris.
I don't know what the next step is, but it
certainly is. It certainly got to the point now where
people just don't care and you ratings wise, I'm sure
the SEGA will tell us, but you keep telling me
the NFL Pro Bowl gets unbelievable ratings.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
I don't know as compared to other sports. I think
would be the best way to put that, right, Steve,
I just I just don't.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
I just don't understand who's you know, who's getting all
excited about this and watching it?
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I just it was it was below average.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
It just it was fun to see how Burton go off,
even though he didn't win the MVP and and Towns
had fifty. But enough is enough, man, I don't know
what to do about it, though, to be honest with.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
You guys, the Bowl games that just happened a couple
of weeks ago, it was about five point eight million viewers.
NBA All Star Game was four point six million a
year ago. Jeezuz exactly, my goodness.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Wild So I.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Realized something this week in Arnie and I talked about
it last night. So if you were tuned in last night,
I know Arnie might swat this way and I'm mentally
and I guess you could say physically prepared for this,
but I've just I've had to accept that.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
As much I love All.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Star games, I really truly do, but I think I've
grown out of them, all right.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
It took me long enough. Right, forty eight years old.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
One of my buddies that I work with at my
local station TJ, he goes to all the Major League
Baseball All Star Games.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Right, I can understand that though.
Speaker 4 (10:51):
That's the one lasting one that I could see people
holding on to from their childhood.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
When I was a kid, I love the NBA All
Star Games, oh loved it.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
And I saw our buddy.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Robert Gara, the producer of The Odd Couple, tweeted this
earlier tonight.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Hold on, I want to get to that in just
a second. What he tweeted about Lebron.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
I saw this from UCLA Dodger Frank and it really
resonated with me on our Twitter feed. He said, I
remember looking forward to the NBA All Star Game in
my teens and twenties and players actually caring. The All
Star Game just doesn't hit the same as it used to.
I mean, there's a lot of things right we're getting
more games, all Star games two sometimes Arnie was the
(11:31):
only time we'd see these guys, right, because we didn't
get all the games. There wasn't as such thing as
the NBA Pass, you know, there wasn't there wasn't NBA TV.
So I know that's going back aways, but still I
think part of that diminishes it too. You know, I
can watch any of these guys play if they're in
the lineup on any given night of the week. Almost Yeah.
(11:51):
But you know what it really comes down to, Chris.
I'm not going to make this any political thing or
anything like that.
Speaker 4 (11:56):
But the guys back then that you mentioned back when
they cared about is because they respected the game. The
game meant more to them than it means to the
players nowadays. I mean, the money is just obscene. They
miss so many games. There's you know, load management. You're
(12:16):
lucky if you get fifty games out of stars. They
just don't care. It was more about the game was
more respected back then, even though it's not nearly as
popular back then as it is now.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Does it need to be fixed? Do we need to
do something or do we just accept this what it is?
Let the TV networks in the NBA do what they
think works. If it's not my thing, I just won't watch.
I mean, that's kind of where I've gone. I mean,
I think we can sit here and find about it.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
It's got to the point where, you know, you ever
go to a game and then like at halftime or
before the game even starts, they get the mites to
run out there, you know what I mean, like a
local YMCA two teams and they play like. I'm at
the point where I'd like to just see like my
play and have fun that way instead of just watching
dunk after dunk after dunk, you know what I mean.
(13:06):
It's just he's got crazy and You're right, I don't
know what to do about it either. Uh, it's just
gonna continue. They try to go back and get a
little old school with the East versus West and kind
of go old school uniforms in a certain way, but
it just it isn't gonna work.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
It isn't gonna feel that way.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
So I mean, I'm guessing it's gonna do okay numbers wise,
but I just I don't know who the target is,
Like who's watching this, Who's watching this and is into it?
I'm this is Fox Sports Radio. I would assume if
you're a diehard sports fan, you're tuned into US, or
you're a car guy and you want to help Arnie out.
(13:46):
One of those two you found us this evening. I mean,
is there anyone that's like, yeah, it.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Was amazing today.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
I think, well, kids, you know, like really ten and up,
you know what I mean. I think that's a big demograph,
ten to like twenty five or something like that.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Or I mean, look, I don't know, that's the question.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
I have no idea because I'm willing to bet outside
of maybe a few trolls, there's not a single person listening.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Right now that comes wings.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
That was awesome, That was great already, That whole weekend
was amazing unless you were there, unless you had a
VIP seat, unless you were on the bench.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I mean, it's just there is zero care for the game.
And I'm fine with it.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
I just have to accept that this isn't going to
be anything that I wanted to be. This isn't gonna
be what I had when I was growing up. I
got to accept it.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
It's though over even a bucket list, and I never
forgot the no I was getting married and I was
in Phoenix and the All Star Game was there, and
my wife won the lottery for the All Star tickets,
so she got two All Star tickets and two tickets
to the festivities. And she says to me, do we
want to go or do we want to sell them?
(15:00):
And you know, have the money, and we'll just go
to a sports bar, right, my god, we should probably go.
I've been just for curious how much can we get?
And she goes for both of them for all everything.
We get close to five thousand dollars. I go, I go,
did I hear you right? Do you know what five
thousand dollars were back? What twenty seven years ago? I go, yeah,
(15:23):
I think I'm gonna do the sports bar. I think
we'll do the sports bar.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
We'll sell those tickets, how about that?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I think I think we'll go and do something like that. Unbelievable.
I don't I don't know where to go with it.
It just wrapped up.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I don't want to be old man yelling at clouds
or anything tonight.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
I'm just it's not my thing. I don't have some
sort of.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Well did you outgrow it or did it just change?
Or is it just too boring for you.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Now, you know what, I didn't outgrow it because when
I you know, everyone's like, I don't even I was
listening to Willard. This is by no means a shot
at Mark Willard, but take a shot out of him.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
No. I love Mark, even though he doesn't follow me
on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
But Mark said, when was the last time the NBA
All Star Game was even competitive?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Come on, man, I don't know ler scoring system. I don't,
But I don't remember the past, you know, I don't.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
It's something I'm like, oh, remember the ninety ninety four
All Star Game?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
No, I don't. I really don't. You know, it was
like two years ago.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
You don't remember the All Star Game after Kobe passed
whenever they got super competitive.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Down the streetch okay, right, right, right?
Speaker 4 (16:34):
Yes, I mean yeah, there's a few things you remember
about it. But still, I mean, come on, now, it
feels the game or what.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
It was amazing it was? Are you being serious right now?
That was We talked about it on this show the
whole night. It's like, that is what an All Star
game should be.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Here's another thing, Yeah, Lebron James played in the All
Star Game tonight, right He didn't play the game before
the All Star Game, right, and now that the All
Star break.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Is like a month and a half, it seems like
I'm being facetious though.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
He's not gonna be ready to play by the Warriors
Lakers game, so he gets treatment and misses the game
before the All Star break, which they win. And the
Lakers can't be putting on games in the regular season, right,
They've dug themselves a hole.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
He plays the All Star.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Game and then he's gonna miss the first game back
after the All Star break.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
He played fourteen minutes.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
I'm thinking maybe aggravated something, but that's not what happened there.
He just wanted to go ahead and play a little
bit in the All Star Game. And then it is
kind of why if I'm a Laker fan, arn't upset again,
you don't respect the game. It's a non respect for
the team in the game when you do something like that,
it really is.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
I just I've accepted that it's not my thing. I
love watching the NBA.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
I'm not gonna suddenly tap out on the sport, but
I think just for the All Star.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Game not gonna be my thing. I'll be all in
on the NFL Draft, and.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
You know, we like ever get to the point whenever
NASCAR races the Daytona five, you.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Can't wait for the draft that's right around the corner too.
You're a well in that well.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
As a matter of fact, when we come back to
the Tirack dot com studios, it was a week ago today,
Arnie and I.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Had just wrapped up the Super Bowl show.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
We literally came back from our final break and said,
Chief Swin, what a finish. Arnie said, absolutely, We said
goodnight and we moved on. So what have we learned
over this week and what do we take away from
Super Bowl fifty eight? In the Chiefs title, We'll dive
into it next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (18:36):

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Ah.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Yes, Sunday night into a Monday morning. You know it
was the I could feel, Arnie. I could feel the
pain last night of the four hour show rolling until
two am for you.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Three hours show? Oh is it only? I thought it
was night. I thought it was four hours.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Oh No, three hours show they do eleven to two.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
There are three hours show now, same as same as
name as us. Yeah, how about that? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Well we uh well, you seem like you had run
the race. My man, well done. You battled. You got
through two am those late as all get out. After
doing Bernie Show last night, I guess.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
That's a tough sat. That's tough to do. We had
a good time with it, we really did. And here's why.
Speaker 3 (20:07):
Hey, because we welcomed in to new affiliates, Arnie the
new Fox Sports Radio Jacksonville nine thirty am. Jacksonville is
Florida's largest city, and the new Fox Sports Radio Orlando
ninety seven nine and eight ten am a big win
for them. So welcome to the new Fox Sports Radio
Jacksonville nine thirty AM and the new Fox Sports Radio
(20:28):
Orlando ninety seven nine FM and eight ten AM.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
We welcome y'all to the FSR family. You know what
that means, don't you. That means you're gonna dump all
over Trevor Lawrence tonight right, No can.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Come back, you know him at Trevor Lawrence fans. Stop that,
Stop that. But it just means we have more Dolphin
fans that are listening.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Oh, I didn't think about that. You think Orlando's more
Dolphin country than say, Jaguarer's country.
Speaker 7 (20:52):
Ah?
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah, maybe it's split, could be split. Who knows.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
There's dolphin fans all over the state. There's Dopin fans
all over the place. I mean, they've been around a
long long time. So matter of fact, it's only what
just like about three hundred and fifty seven days until
the Dolphins win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
You're really gonna hold onto that, aren't you?
Speaker 4 (21:14):
All? This?
Speaker 2 (21:14):
I mean is this every Are you in to this
every Sunday night? Man? Just every Sunday night till they
till the Super Bowl next year?
Speaker 3 (21:22):
Do you not worry about people seeing through your lack
of confidence in this team and your lack of confidence.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
I was I was pretty much right about the Dolphins
this year. Was the injuries that got them, not me.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yeah, you were pretty much right. They're going to super
Bowl and they lost their first playoff game.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
I mean, if they weren't so banged up.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
You know what's so funny is if they weren't so
banged up, they would have won the division. They never
would have been in that position to begin with. So
come on, now, let's let's be honest. Don't don't, don't
play stupid.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Here, come on, go try to cast your ticket. Then
go to the go to the I almost said box office.
Go to the box office already, give them your ticket,
Go give me your ticket, sell them at ex and
see what happens.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
I can wait a year.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
So it's only three hundred and fifty six days or
something like that.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Okay, well, with that in mind, With that in mind,
we are a week removed from the super Bowl. If
you could spare us your dolphin homrism. Yeah, I ask
this question out it, But go ahead, is there anything now?
A week removed, you've had time to sit on it,
think about it. Not even talking about the upcoming offseason,
not even talking about the decision that a lot of
(22:27):
teams have.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
To make with free agents and quarterbacks.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Is there anything a week removed, Arnie, that you've had
time to think on that stands out bothers? You solidified
some opinions, whatever it might be, based on how the
super Bowl finished and based on how that whole week
played out, just.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
A general one in specific here because look, congratulations of
the Kansas City, Congratulations the Mahomes. Obviously he's going to
make a run at Brady. We'll get into that later on. Also,
Chiefs could be a dynasty. Who knows how many they
put up. We'll argue about that when when next season starts,
can they do it?
Speaker 2 (22:59):
And who they have and who they don't.
Speaker 4 (23:01):
What I don't understand is people were acting like the
forty nine ers are so far away. WHOA, I ain't
gotta make wholestsale changes. I got defensive coordinator, gotta get fired.
Never was on board. Then you know, what are they
gonna do with Ayuk? Because he's got to go. They
don't have money to pay him. They gotta make these
(23:22):
moves this much, they gotta make some major moves here.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
They lost it.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
Overtime by three points. I mean, they were favored in
every game this year. Some people said that because they
didn't get well when we were on the air, they
didn't get to him early. Should have had a bigger
lead than what was on ten to three San Francisco
over Kansas City. And one thing they didn't do, as
you know, you asked me at halftime, what is Kansas
City gonna do?
Speaker 2 (23:47):
I said, if five Mahomes, I'm gonna run more.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
I gotta have those ten fifteen twenty yard runs and
I'm running like five or six different times. Well that's
what they did. But what San Francisco didn't do is
the very first time Mahomes done that, then you put
in a spy and he doesn't do it a second
time or third, or fourth, or fifth or sixth. So overall, I.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Don't think San France it was a coin flip to me.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
If San Francisco won the game twenty five, twenty two
and overtime, you know it wouldn't it make no difference
at all. I think they're right there. So all this,
they're so everything. Defensive coordinators gotta go. And you know
brock Party, now, was he really a franchise quarterback? And
you know, stop it. You're right there. Three points and overtime.
(24:34):
Don't dismantle everything out there, Chris.
Speaker 3 (24:36):
Yeah, And I mean suddenly Kyle Shanahan is like terrible
in some people's eyes.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Oh he can't get it done.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Well, I'm not the biggest Shanahan fan.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I know this.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
And you'll mention that he's called the quarterback whisper about
twelve times tonight and that Trey Lance.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Didn't work out.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
But you gotta admit Rock Party didn't look like that
moment was too big for him last week.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
No, no, no, it didn't. I thought he would played
a pretty good game.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
They didn't win.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
It was in proc perty's fault. Third quarter.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
They didn't. You don't get the ball to the McCaffrey
as much.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
They had a pat third quarter, but it was it
was a game that slipped away. They probably should have
won that game, but they let it really slip away
in the first half and they didn't have a bigger lead.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
All right, when we come back to the tyrack dot
Com studios, Oh, let's start at Arnie, start a little
draft talk. But first we'll get your we'll get your
tweets and your exes in here, because You guys got takes,
getting a lot of them off the top. And Steve
the Sager is here to make sure we don't get
too far away from the games.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
What's going on? Steve?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Hello, gentlemen's mad at me because I made aim more
last night.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
It wasn't it the other way around?
Speaker 2 (25:41):
I usually then thes got it.
Speaker 8 (25:45):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (25:45):
The only the only thing we were mad about was
having to hear about the car last night.
Speaker 8 (25:49):
Also.
Speaker 7 (25:50):
Oh, in fact, Darney said he bought his hybrid car
for the benefit of clean air. If he really wanted
to help cure the foul air, he'd stopped talking.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah, that's all. Wow for the NBA All Star Game. Wow,
next year's All.
Speaker 7 (26:04):
Star Game is gonna be in the Bay Area at
the Golden State Warriors home tonight in Indianapolis. The final score,
but pardon me, but the final score was two eleven
to one eighty six.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
Just ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (26:18):
Does it really matter who won at that point? No,
it was the East. Just for the record, it went over.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
By the way, there was an influx of money coming
in on the under on this whole thing.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Why game.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
Matter of fact, the guy for bet Jim said some
better about two hundred thousand dollars under the under two
sixty six and then one went from two sixty six.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
To two fifty three. What are we even doing?
Speaker 4 (26:41):
I'm just giving you the facts here, sir.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
It's and for those lovely gamblers, there's still spring training
starting this.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Week to gamble. You can get money.
Speaker 8 (26:54):
Free season. It's a free season for any steal the buddy.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
In the baseball preseason.
Speaker 7 (26:59):
We had almost four hundred total points scored. In this
NBA All Star Game tonight, the record was three seventy
four total. The East in forty eight minutes made forty
two three pointers. The old record was thirty five threes made.
And just in the first half the East led at
the break one oh four to eighty nine total points.
(27:21):
There was a record, and just to score one oh
four by intermission that tied the NBA.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Also, they should have like MTV points, you know, like
half points.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
That's what they need. More points, ye fi pointer, that's
our gosh. What was that show called?
Speaker 8 (27:36):
What was that the rocken' jock?
Speaker 2 (27:38):
Rocken Jock there you call that's what they should do.
Speaker 7 (27:41):
That could be very fun and funny because they did
softball with that as well. But what you're mentioning is
when they used to have the celebrity game point bucket,
that's right, or if some light was just on for
a few seconds, the points this jump shot was worth more.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
You know.
Speaker 7 (27:56):
I remember once watching one of the Rocken Jocks softball games,
and of course these were not live, but they you know,
we hadn't seen it on the air until they showed it.
They show it and it's got graphics on it, and
it says whatever the celebrity's name is, and underneath.
Speaker 8 (28:10):
It says about to hit a double. Sure enough.
Speaker 2 (28:18):
Do you guys know how long ago that was?
Speaker 8 (28:20):
Oh, dari I asked, that's say he's.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Ninety six, the softball was ninety one.
Speaker 7 (28:26):
Oh my gosh, it's very entertaining.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
It seemed like it was just yesterday.
Speaker 3 (28:31):
Well, put those rules in place, it would be better
than whatever that was we watched tonight.
Speaker 7 (28:36):
More entertaining than a lot of tonight. Damian Lillard the
game MVP with thirty nine points. Jalen Brown scored thirty six.
Tyrese Haliburton had thirty two. Haliburton from the Pacers, so
he was in his home arena first four minutes from
three point range. He was five of six fifteen points
finished with thirty two. The Daytona five hundred was postponed
to tomorrow at four pm Eastern time on Fox TV.
(28:58):
It rained all weekend there. It was not at all
a surprise that they called it today. Already the day
before they said this Exfinity Series opener not going on
this weekend. That's going to be held Monday morning, eleven
am Eastern time on FS one. Upset in college hoops,
Ohio State with an interim coach beat number two rank
produce seventy three sixty nine. As far as the FS
(29:20):
one games, road winds for Northwestern Seaton Hall and Utah,
which won at UCLA seventy to sixty nine on a
last second put back. New York Rangers won the NHL
Outdoor Game in New Jersey today and a comeback in
overtime six '.
Speaker 8 (29:34):
Five over the Islanders, LA.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
And Colorado with victories back to you, thanks Steve. How
about your Wildcats doing what they did to Arizona so
by way, regret as we didn't win by more one
of mis What just a thumping, dude, what a thumping
like forty five? Not out of him?
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Wait till we play? Wait to play Ukon beat them
by forty six.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Yeah, I don't know, dude.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
To them today they're pretty good? Are yesterday? They're pretty good?
They're right, They're more than all right. You guys might
be all right. They'll come on now. Arizona State is terrible.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (30:12):
I thought Bobby Hurley was supposed to be some sort
of great coach. But kudos kudos to your boys on
a win yesterday.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Now one Hurley is a good coach. I guess.
Speaker 3 (30:20):

(30:42):
are you guys as sad as me? There's no football
for what seems like eternity. I know you have to
pretend like other sports are good because of your job,
but low key, this sucks.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
It does suck, it does it hurts.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
That's why I'm going to a concert on Friday, get
a little something else in my life.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
I'm not kidding herround.
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I made those tickets like three months ago. I knew
I was gonna go through football withdraws. I thought I
was actually gonna be happy because the Dolphins were gonna.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Win a Super Bowl. So now right, I'm really bummed
out about that.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
But yeah, I can't wait for the draft and what's
gonna happen with all the quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
And you know, the free agency.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
I've been more excited for that this year than I
think ever before my entire NFL life.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
I just can't wait.
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Mister Nobody, Kyle Shanahan is an overrated coach. He was
the OC of the twenty eight to three choke job
for the Atlanta Foutons.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yes he was. Ge. We haven't brought that up, have we?
He choked away? Yeah, we never talked about that, mister nobody.
Speaker 3 (31:43):
He choked away not one but two leads against Kansas
City and the Super Bowl. Once is tough, twice as
bad luck, three times.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Quarterback wi choker. He's just such.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
He knows quarterbacks better than everybody.
Speaker 2 (31:55):
That's why he took trans Trey Lance mistake.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
Sorry, you don't want to get him credit for developing
brock Purty.
Speaker 4 (32:07):
That's like me being a marriage counselor. But I've been
divorce six times.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
It's one mistake. It's one It's like being a marriage counselor.
Were divorced once. It was a hell of a mistake.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Yeah, and it's it's a kind of mistake that is
a fan of another team that's struggling to get any traction.
It drives you crazy because a mistake like that should
set a franchise.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Back for five years a decade. For the Niners, it's like, ah,
look at this guy we found.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
We'll shrug it off. Thank goodness, we got mister Irrelevant,
who I had no idea was that good. But hey,
on the quarterback whisper, I should have known he was
that good.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Well, it's kind of you realize when you say this,
you're actually kind of backing up the point that he
is the quarterback. No, you're not seeing the real point.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Because I don't think you realize you're trying to make
You were trying to make fun of the fact that
they missed on Trey Lance and lo and behold, they
got the last pick in the draft. That's leading them
to super Bowls. You don't want to give Kyle Shanahan
credit for that. You want to spend more time bashing
him for taking Trey Lance.
Speaker 4 (33:11):
Never would have played him if they weren't forced to,
never would have played who but brock Purty?
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Did you not?
Speaker 3 (33:18):
You might say Shanahan's full of crap, but both the
owner and Shanahan backed him up. Do you hear what
they said after the first practice?
Speaker 4 (33:26):
No?
Speaker 3 (33:27):
No, no, He told the owner he's like the best
quarterback on the field is pretty over Garoppolo over Lance.
He said it after the first practice.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
It sounds like everybody who said that about Tom. We
knew that Tom Brady guy was going to be the
best ever.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
We knew it.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Well, I don't know if anyone quite goes that far.
You might you, but I don't know how many people
take it that far. Baker writes, Since Arnie and Plank's
last show, I've learned that Travis Kelsey must be the
most valuable and desired product endorser period.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
He's hot commodity right now, is he not? Or what
you were?
Speaker 3 (34:01):
You surprised to see just how big the numbers were.
I mean, we knew they were gonna be big, but
it surprised you at all how big they were.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
No, I went into overtime, so that kept everybody's you know,
peek into it. So there was no really downside to
the to the ratings. You got into overtime and then
you got the Taylor Swift in fluence, so that was
gonna add people to the broadcast. I just didn't know
how many found out. It was what a couple of million,
(34:28):
you know, especially young ladies that tuned on in. So No,
it was it was great. It was fantastic that all
those people were watching.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Shouts out to my man Todd to try to give
me that follow from Mark Willard, and I thought this
was I thought this was really really good on the
All Star Game from our man Pete, who rights you
can't fix the All Star Game. Baseball tried by making
it matter for home field and that didn't work. So
it's basically something that are in the past.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
Maybe they don't care.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
I mean, if if Pro Bowl's gonna get whatever ratings,
it's gonna get being whatever it is, maybe that's just
good enough.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
To wait to describe it. If you know whatever they
were doing that, because I'm with you I'm doing. What
are they doing? They're playing tug of war the whole time?
Speaker 3 (35:09):
All right, When we come back to the tiraq dot
com studios, what's tickling your fancy going forward? For the
NFL quarterback Battles free agency Draft, we'll try to figure
out what's number one next. On Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (35:35):
Sarny in playing hanging out on a Sunday night into
a Monday morning? Are you as excited as I am
about the Daytona five hundred being run on Monday?
Speaker 2 (35:47):
I noticed you, h I am, I have a Roman
numeral for it.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
That's not true. I said it to you, and I
put a Roman numeral number thirteen. What Roman numeral number thirteen?
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
After right after the Roman numeral twelve that said JJ
Watt wanted the big holding five yards instead of ten.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Hey, I don't think you sent that to me.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
No, I resent it the second time and added number thirteen.
Oh okay, can't be Just send me one. Just send
me one. When you're ready for it all my goodness.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
JJ watt Okay, fair enough, fair enough, Well I want
to hit before I'm.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
Not Jay happy for it too, because now you know
I had nothing going on tomorrow, so I kicked back.
Watch a little uh Daytona.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Yeah, get a.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Little nap in there, you'll be good to go exactly.
There is There is one tweet that I wanted to
read here real quick. This is from nature Boy. Nature
Boy might be one of the most creative contributors we
have on the show, but for some reason he only
tags you on our tweet so I never see them.
So I'm sorry nature Boy, but this is good, he
(36:55):
writes quick. Super Bowl takeaway celebration kell see is annoying,
and Shanahan decided he needed a fall Guy almost wondered
if Shanahan would have preferred to lose to the Lions,
like not have to deal with this super Bowl fallout.
It's just, yeah, we lost the Lions. We're fine, We'll
(37:16):
get back there next year. But I understand that everything
from the Super Bowl parade is now Obviously the celebration
is a distant memory, right because of the tragedy that
took place. But Travis Kelce is annoying is all get
out whenever he gets a couple drinks in him. I mean,
I don't I don't know how to put this ardy.
I don't know what else to say. Holy smokes man,
(37:37):
get the mic away from you.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
You know, it's tough for us to make a big
deal of it at the time that had happened. But
when he bumped it to Andy Reid and I said
to you, Chris, I God, did I say that, right? I? Yeah,
you know, because we're on the air, we're talking about
the game, and we're you know, you turn your head
for a split second, and I thought maybe I missed something,
or maybe I wasn't watching something correctly there that was atrocious.
(38:02):
And I promise you had that been anybody else, or
a different team or a different coach, if that wasn't
the Super Bowl, just like a game three in the
regular season, people would be screaming bloody murder. If that
happened in Dallas and dak Prescott did.
Speaker 2 (38:20):
That, Oh my gosh, you'd be talking about that for years.
You know that, don't you? Oh no, it would. It
would be NonStop, non stop.
Speaker 3 (38:28):
But you know, my daughter is her swifties, right, Die hard,
Die hard, you know, trying to get tickets, you know,
belong to fan clubs. They make bead bracelets and all
this crap, and now they hate them, they can't stand them.
And that's the reason. I'm like, wait, that's that's part
of the games, Like, no, he's not good enough for
(38:50):
Taylor or something happened. I'm not even kidding right now,
but it was just it was interesting to see how
that turned during the week. Now, we're not going to
spend a lot of time talking about Kelsey and that's
not our bag here with our plake on Fox Sports Radio,
but we will spend a lot of time talking about
the upcoming off season. So when we come back, which
one is most important to you? What tickles your fancy
(39:13):
now Roman numeral number three, Arenie going forward? Is it
the draft? Is it the off season moves? Do you
find yourself more in the NBA? Will you be a
March Madness nerd? I know you will be, or will
it be Major League Baseball? Which one is it? Because
to me in the NFL, it's the draft, it's team building. Sorry,
I'll get into the NBA in June when we're in
(39:34):
the playoffs and it we'll talk about the games. I
love baseball, but it's they played twelve hundred games. So
I'm all in on the NFL and the drafts.
Speaker 4 (39:43):
How about you if my Arizona Wildcats we're not gonna
win March madness. I'm really not in the March madness
as much as I usually am, maybe because there's like
no big names or anything like that. I love the
conference tournaments, though, Chriz, That's right me too.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
I get both the big dance. I love that.
Speaker 4 (40:01):
I love you the automatic qualifier, especially from teams that
maybe didn't win their conference and now this is their
last hope and even if you did, when it's a
one big conference or something like that. I see that
here with Vermont every year now, and you know, just
absolutely exciting to watch. So I like the conference tournaments.
We'll see if I get in the March madness much.
(40:22):
I'm actually pumped for the start of baseball, but I
think I say that every year that I'm pumped for
the starter baseball and I and you know you kind
of fall off on that. But this year, more so
than ever, I'm I'm I'm pumped to see what happens there.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
You're excited like I am, and then after the first
week you're like, this is every night man, the baseball
and my medstinctive single and the feet away. All right,
well I got my focus. NFL Draft talk, who's going
number one? What's the buzz? We'll dive into a next
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
You hear the man.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
We're broadcasting live from the tai rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
Tire rack dot Com.
Speaker 3 (41:00):

Fermitt Arnie coming up.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Yes, in about ten to fifteen minutes right now.
Speaker 4 (41:14):
Chris, I want you to know something, and I'm not
be asking you here. I text our boss, you know,
the big big boss, a couple of days ago, okay,
to let him know that I was applying for another
part time job.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
To go with this one here. Okay, Yes, I'm intrigued.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Yes, they just have something to do with the Danish
that you're currently eating right now or.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
No, the Danish is for our number two. Okay, well
this is our number.
Speaker 4 (41:45):
Two, right, it's fuel for hour two. This is what
that Danish was for nobody was supposed to know that, right.
Speaker 2 (41:51):
So well you put it on Twitter. I mean, come on,
all right, So what I'm going to do is you
ready for this? Chris?
Speaker 4 (41:57):
I'm thinking about applying at your for this.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
The Weather Channel?
Speaker 3 (42:03):
Okay, why what I mean, predicting the weather? They're all
terrible at it. Well again, you're terrible at your pick.
Speaker 4 (42:14):
And I'm really I don't know anything about the weather.
But the reason I was thinking about it is, I
don't know if you realize this. Do you know what's
going on up here? April eighth? Do you have any idea?
And you might not.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
No, I have no clue.
Speaker 4 (42:26):
April eighth is when we're having the solar eclipse, okay,
and one of the few places in this world to
see it clearly from is like right where I live
in Burlington, Vermont. Okay, I mean like one of the
three places in the world. Matter of fact, we got
like one hundred thousand people coming into town just for
(42:49):
this alone. People made reservations like, are you know a
year ahead of time just for this?
Speaker 2 (42:56):
It's crazy. Can can you handle this? I mean, do
you have I don't know the structure.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
I don't know, but I'm thinking Okay, should I call
like the Weather Channel and see if they want me
to do like a live up to I don't know
what I'm gonna say, like, hey, here it is, we
got sunlight and now we don't back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Okay, not sure what to say, but well, I mean
that might help you in the application process, right, I
mean if you can come up with here's what I
would be bringing you.
Speaker 2 (43:27):
But if you're applying for a.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Job hypothetically here right, and you don't know what you're
gonna say, that's I don't know what to.
Speaker 4 (43:34):
Be about solar eclips I just know the Moon's gonna
be going between the Earth and the Sun. I mean
how many times can I say that on TV? Maybe
Fox News is gonna want me on you know what
I mean?
Speaker 3 (43:46):
Well, I mean didn't you used to go on like
seeing in or something?
Speaker 4 (43:50):
Yes, all for like twenty years. Yeah, but that was
for sports. Now I'm getting outside that sports.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
Oh you're brought the horizon. Okay, so are eclips already?
Speaker 4 (44:00):
Now? This is like weather already. I don't know the
solar eclipse counter as weather.
Speaker 2 (44:04):
See That's what I was wondering.
Speaker 3 (44:06):
I don't know everything kind of does who's your one
that's applying for this job. I mean I figured you
did a little groundwork on it.
Speaker 4 (44:14):
Maybe No, I didn't know if like the Weather Channel
wanted to use me up.
Speaker 2 (44:18):
I mean, I'm right here in Burlington.
Speaker 4 (44:21):
I mean people are dying to get up here to
get a to get a look at this eclipse thing.
And matter of fact, like our airport's having a party.
It's one hundred dollars a person. What, Oh, it's this
is a big thing. I'm telling I didn't even realize
that until like a month ago.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Okay, I found where you need to apply already.
Speaker 4 (44:43):
But is there the eclipse channel? I had the solar
eclipse channel.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Well, apparently this thing called NASA has a uh it's
called the Ring of Fire solar eclipse.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Right? Is this right? Or am I reading an old story?
I don't know. I have no idea what you're.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Well, NASA, Facebook, and x are gonna have wall to
wall coverage on April eighth, So there.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
You somebody would have asked me, hey, you know what
about this? But just because you live there, I get
the best.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
I wanted to have the best of you out of
anybody like in the world.
Speaker 3 (45:15):
Well, I know, but do you do you understand how
many nerds probably have telescopes and do things like regularly reading.
Speaker 2 (45:23):
Isn't my phone going to cut it?
Speaker 9 (45:25):
Well?
Speaker 3 (45:25):
I mean, you have no background in this. This is
like talking to George Costanza when he wanted to be
the general manager right now, aren't he? It's you know
nothing about it, you don't care about it. It's the
proximity of where you live, and you think that people. Now, hey,
you know what, I'd love to have you on the show.
Does that help? I want you with me to talk
(45:46):
about it. But you're looking bigger dollars here, aren't you?
Speaker 1 (45:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (45:49):
I was looking, you know, like weather Channel and you
know those type of guys that stand in the hurricanes
and they're getting blood all over the place and eclips.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
I mean, you're not really Your life isn't an.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
No, See that's the bad part. My life's not in danger.
I just say, hey, it's light. Now it's not and
it's like for two minutes, I go, hey it's light again.
Speaker 2 (46:10):
So you won't see this for a hundred years. I'm
already spanning your back to.
Speaker 4 (46:16):
You, back to you see you guys in one hundred
years from now.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
I like the go getter nature that you have, right
you you realize that in your neck of the woods exactly,
there is an opportunity to make some.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
Money, right right, And it is two minutes long. So
I mean, who would want me on the Weather Channel
or Fox News? I don't know if this, like is
Fox News could.
Speaker 2 (46:39):
Even be covering. I'm sure they will.
Speaker 10 (46:42):
You guys don't even know about it. It's like you
you have no idea. I'm just gonna okay, so cars, right.
Was one thing that I sound very stupid. Space stars.
I mean it's just I'm like, hey, look there's the stars.
And someone's like, oh, that's actually actually the Big Dipper
or this. I'm like, I don't care. It's stars, right,
I don't care that it's an eclipse. Just give me
(47:04):
my son or my moonback so I can have some normalcy.
I'm I'm pathetic. I got a D in Weather and
Climb a D bro. I took it because I thought
it was an easy A. My buddy Matt Klemisch aced it.
Of course, it probably helped if I went to class
and studied. But a D so I will help in
this kind of stuf.
Speaker 4 (47:23):
I was gonna say, Pete said, did you see that
the Cleveland Guardians pushed their game later so people could
get in early and watch the eclipse. The next one
will be in twenty four forty four. Huh, that's quite
a while.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Well, why don't you apply to anchor the twenty four
to forty four coverage?
Speaker 8 (47:43):
Guys?
Speaker 7 (47:43):
That was a story a couple of days ago with
the Cleveland Guardians. Apparently their openers are always at four
pm Eastern Time, and yes, they are moving it back
an hour and inviting people to plan ahead, use public transportation,
and if you're going to the ballgame that day, they're
gonna have the stadium open three hours before first pitch
and you can watch the eclipse there because NASA says
(48:06):
that day it's going from roughly Dallas through the corner
of Missouri up to Cleveland, then Buffalo, then Vermont, then Maine.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Yeah, Vermont's the best though, that's what they say. What
why is because.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
It's very dark up here, there's no lights that you
get a great view of it.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
It's going to be the best place.
Speaker 4 (48:27):
That's why we got one hundred thousand people converting on
this town.
Speaker 7 (48:31):
The estimate on this story with Cleveland and the baseball
time for opening Day is that over two hundred thousand
visitors are due to be coming to their area that day,
and most Cleveland schools will be closed for the day,
So with so many people downtown, that's why the Guardians
had to do something.
Speaker 4 (48:48):
You know what, My price just doubled for anybody that
wants me to report why Burlington, Vermont.
Speaker 7 (48:54):
If you can make it Buffalo to Burlington in ten minutes,
you can cover both times as it goes over.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Exactly, I've learned something tonight. You can come to this
show and say you've learned something, or at least I can. Yeah,
good luck, Arnie, there you good luck.
Speaker 3 (49:11):
I would say, you know, right now, probably Elon and
Twitter is a place to go to try to get
paid to cover it.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
That might not be a bad idea, I guess. Let
me get Elon on the phone.
Speaker 3 (49:19):
We're coming to you live from the tire rack dot
com studios, and don't forget the podcasts will be up
as soon as we're done. You miss anything, check it
out search Fox Sports Radio. However you consume podcasts, follow rate,
review the podcast, leave a five star review, and say
something nice about Arnie. That's Fox Sports Radio. Search as
soon as we're.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Done slash meteorologists.
Speaker 7 (49:40):
Now so we have Arnie, do you know what happens
in this eclipse? What's gonna happen April Lake? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Yeah, it's gonna go from light to dark?
Speaker 8 (49:51):
And how long is that gonna last?
Speaker 4 (49:52):
Two minutes it's gonna be I've actually looked that up
like just before, so I would know somewhat what I'm
talking about.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Whenever I do something like who's the coach or something
like that, you actually look it up, so you know,
when's the last time this happened in Ohio?
Speaker 8 (50:08):
For example?
Speaker 2 (50:08):
Oh, I had not a clue.
Speaker 7 (50:09):
They said eighteen o six, Oh.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Wow, Yeah, geez, when you were born.
Speaker 7 (50:19):
If it's closer, that might actually be funny. Eighteen o
six wow for northeast Ohio.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
So I'm really gonna ask for money for this time around?
How about it?
Speaker 3 (50:28):
I can't believe we got a whole segment out of
the eclipse.
Speaker 2 (50:31):
Look at the big thing. I guess. I guess it
gets more people knew about it.
Speaker 8 (50:35):
Ton't got a plan for opening day in Cleveland, I guess.
Speaker 3 (50:38):
So where do you stand? Arnie Spanier on Roman numeral
number seven to me.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
On Justin Fields was the numeral number seven. Oh that's right.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
You don't put this out on Twitter, sorry, guys, Roman
numeral seven Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
Just now.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
I was listening to you and Jason Martin last night
and they were talking by the most intriguing storylines or
teams heading into the off season, and uh, we spent
probably a couple of segments on what is the most
fascinating intriguing slash I guess biggest storyline? And I said,
the Bears in one, right, And I know it's wild
(51:18):
because free agency will happen before that. We will have
probably at Kirk Cousins the decision before that. So I'll
gladly say I'm wrong, But right now you're we're all
allowed to change our mind on this.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
Where do you stand.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
I'm kind of thinking they're gonna they're gonna move him
and draft Capabill, right, and.
Speaker 4 (51:39):
The first thing is before they can draft Caleb Williams,
they're gonna have to move him. So that's gonna be
the first dobbin of the fall, which is why I
said the biggest offseason moved to me is what's gonna
happen to Justin Field? Though Pittsburgh said they're gonna go
ahead and uh and stick with third quarterback Aleast. That's
the rum we're out there, or supposedly being reported reports.
So maybe Atlanta and England is a long shot. A
(52:01):
couple of other teams out there. I like Justin Field,
so to me, that was the biggest you know, that's
the biggest thing that I'm watching for and see where
he's gonna end up. And then we're discussing, you know,
how good is he, and I said, I would probably
rather have somebody like Justin Fields over you know, maybe
half the league out there.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
I like Justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (52:25):
I think he's really really good. I think he gets
a bad knock for playing for the Chicago Bears, and
I can't wait to see where he's.
Speaker 2 (52:32):
Going to end up.
Speaker 4 (52:33):
I mean, my goodness, man, I wish the Giants can
get him, but they stuck with that Daniel Jones contract.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
I'd rather have.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
Fields than, you know, than love of the Green Bay Packers,
and he had a pretty good year. Wait, I rather
have fields and a lot of quarterbacks out there, so
I can't wait to see where he's going to end up.
Speaker 2 (52:53):
You're telling me, if you're Green Bay, you'd move on
from Jordan Love. No, I wouldn't move on.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
I'm just saying I'd rather have Field then Love. That's
how much I like Fields, because I think Love did
a pretty good job.
Speaker 3 (53:03):
Okay, well what if what if Mike McDaniel decides they
don't want to pay Tua and so they decided to
bring in Justin Fields.
Speaker 4 (53:12):
No, we're not going there were two is our quarterback.
They're gonna pay two after what he did in the
numbers that he put up, so two was not going anywhere.
There's there's no doubt that he's going to be the
franchise quarterback for the Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (53:27):
What's that a second, third, and fourth round pick look
like for you guys right now? Did you guys have
any of those.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Picks but for this this draft coming up, I don't know.
I don't think we have many left.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
No, you don't, So get your second and third for Tua,
Go get a Kirk Cousins. That's when Mike Sando's thinking
in his year in review of the Dolphins, what would
you do if they moved on from Tua and the
addition was Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 4 (53:57):
No, No, I would stop being a Dolphin fan. There's
enough to start to just make me go crazy.
Speaker 2 (54:03):
I couldn't do that. No, don't even say that. What
is said?
Speaker 4 (54:08):
Who said that's what they should be doing? I didn't
see anybody, right and that?
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Stop that? Come on, now you think I just made
that up?
Speaker 1 (54:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (54:16):
Come on, you think I pulled that out of thin air.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
Dolphins aren't moving on from Tua after the year that
he had and he didn't even get.
Speaker 2 (54:25):
Hurt this year.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
Let me ask you, there's no reason to move on
from him. You think he can win you a super Bowl?
Speaker 2 (54:30):
That's my quarterback. You think he can win you a
super Bowl?
Speaker 3 (54:33):
Yes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, c J.
Speaker 2 (54:40):
Stroud? You think Tua can win over them? Right? See that?
Speaker 4 (54:45):
You Stroud? How many super Bowls does he have?
Speaker 3 (54:48):
I must have forgot, well, I mean a lot of
them in there don't have any super Bowls. But I'm
asking do you would you take him and that team
to beat those guys in Cold Stroud.
Speaker 2 (54:59):
I think he's just as good as c. J. Stroud.
He's going to show that he's right up there.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
The equation here, writes Mike Sando, is that cousins and
a draft pick our picks would be better than continuing
with tongue. By laws, the Dolphins do not have third
or fourth round picks in the upcoming draft.
Speaker 2 (55:16):
They could use the capitol.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Cousins would have to prioritize Miami as his preferred landing spot,
which seemingly would be easy for him given what the
Dolphins offer in terms of McDaniel's personality, the scheme and weaponry,
and I question, your upside with Tua seems limited.
Speaker 2 (55:35):
So let's say you can trade him. I would be exploring.
Speaker 3 (55:38):
Okay, Tua, we can win games with probably not a
championship with Kirk Cousins. We can win games with probably
not winning a championship with but one of your favorite things.
Our resources are better spent on Cousins plus draft picks
than they are on just Tua.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
No, first of all, you know to go ahead and
he even think that now is the right time. That
for the Dolphins to make a movie quarterback is ridiculous too.
They had so many injuries and they're gonna go ahead
and make any They're gonna make defensive moves and make cuts.
There Also, what Xavier is not coming back and looking
(56:16):
up to God.
Speaker 2 (56:16):
Make some cuts there. I'm not saying I agree with it.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
But whenever you write down Justin Fields and you tell
me how much you love him, I do you would
take him over Jordan Love. Maybe he could be in
play for your team too.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
I take Fields over Dak Prescott.
Speaker 3 (56:34):
What is Justin Fields done that would lead you to
believe anything that he can do is better than Dak Prescott?
Speaker 2 (56:41):
Or well, what is Dak? What has Dak Prescott done?
His numbers are infinitely better than Justin Fields, so is
Jordan Love's.
Speaker 4 (56:49):
Jordan Fields has a smaller sampling size that I could
tell that kid's gonna be a stud if you just
put him in the in the right situation. You just
have to go ahead and see through what he's done
so far and the mistakes. If you're a Raider fan
like you are, you should wish the Raiders got him.
Speaker 3 (57:05):
I got something on that. When we come back, we'll
talk to Todd Furman about it. I think he might
be in play.
Speaker 2 (57:10):
I really do.
Speaker 4 (57:11):
By the way, did you see what somebody said us
as you mentioned Todd Furman, a big cowboy receiver, former
receiver hit a thirteen team college basketball parlay.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Well, let's dive into that next right here on Fox
Sports Radio, Sarni and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday
saleo to our buddy Todd Furman Bet the Board podcast,
What's the fallout been?
Speaker 2 (57:35):
Todd?
Speaker 3 (57:36):
Since hosting the Super Bowl seems like it's a home run.
Seems like everyone in the NFL can't wait to come.
Speaker 9 (57:41):
Back a man, dude, and I would put Vegas right
there at the top of the list. You look at
a lot of the media folks, a lot of the
players that were participating in the Big Game, and I
would imagine they feel a lot more at home in
Vegas than they will in Santa Clair and some of
the other cities that are coming up on the horizon
over the next couple of seasons.
Speaker 2 (58:02):
Todd, did you hit.
Speaker 4 (58:03):
Any big long shots on the props or anything like that?
How was it for you betting the Super Bowl?
Speaker 9 (58:08):
You have to bet long shots to be able to
hit them, And for me, my prop portfolio wasn't anything
to write home about. Some of the player props that
we laid prices on didn't quite come to fruition. Biggest
position we took Brandon i Yuk under four and a
half receptions worked out, but I had a little bit
of a liability going back a couple of weeks to
the forty nine ers, so I was not exactly thrilled
(58:28):
with Kyle Shanahan's play calling on a second and four,
knowing that if they were able to pick up a
first down was right around two minutes to go in
the game, they would have finally gotten the monkey off
their back. But as soon as you get Patrick Mahomes
the football, it was fata complee in terms of Kansas
City winning their third Lombardi Trophy in the last five years.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
By the way, Todd, I just discovered your work on
the CBS Sports station, and because I have Pluto TV.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
Well, Pluto TV's free.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
Everyone has it, and when I'm not watching Unsolved Mysteries,
I was watching you guys, what were you out in
front of the Bolagio And that was just awesome. I
feel like now, not just on the betting side of it,
but on obviously entertainment side, I feel like the NFL
has shown there's still so much more too to Vegas. Right,
everything was pretty much within walking distance. I'm sure the
locals weren't too happy about the traffic, but I feel
(59:17):
like that it's going to be a regular part of
the rotation.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
Now.
Speaker 9 (59:21):
Look, traffic on the strip for the Super Bowl is
something that we've grown accustomed to you over the years.
You work in the hospitality industry. You work down there
on Las Vegas Boulevard. You go through Memorial Day, you
go through labor Dy Weekend, you go through a lot
of closures around New Year's Eve. The difference between the
Super Bowl and F one is that you didn't have
to go through a variety of road closures to basically
create the track down major thoroughfare, So it was a
(59:43):
lot less disruption in that particular regard. You had all
the immediate responsibilities down at Mandalay Bay to your point plank.
You know, we had our setup right in front of Blagio,
and shout out to the great folks at CBS. That
created an incredible backdrop. We would have preferred it was
a few degrees warmer if we had our wish. Cold
and rain not exactly typical of Vegas this time of year,
(01:00:04):
but just overall a great experience. The one thing I
will say, having left the Bolagio one night trying to
go up to Win for a dinner reservation, I wasn't
used to it taking fifty five minutes for a trip
that usually takes eight to ten under normal circumstances.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
I love that it was a little pricey out there.
I was here, like coodies were like three hundred dollars
what stuff like that.
Speaker 9 (01:00:26):
Everything for the Super Bowl will get to ratchet up,
and I think you know, when it's out here, it's
even more expensive. My favorite move from the NFL, and
you guys will appreciate this, is that the number one
spot where they were selling official merchandise, you would have
actually paid to go into the event before you could
even go into your wall to pay for merch So
that next level from the league, we know that they
are going to get their power to flash, and you
(01:00:47):
know what, there are plenty of people willing to pay
for it, much like you Arendie. I'll wait for those
things to go on sale three or four months down
the road. I'll walk into the outlet mall and I'm
sure I'll be able to grab a T shirt with
a screen printed logo that I don't have. It inevitably
wash off the first time I put in the.
Speaker 4 (01:01:02):
Washington or just go to the third world country where
its as forty nine ers won Super Bowl.
Speaker 9 (01:01:06):
Yeah, having spent my honeymoon in some of those spots,
I was looking around, and I was scanning the horizon
to try and find an old school merch for teams
that came up a bit short. Unfortunately, was not able
to get my hands on any of that. Nor could
I find a Vermont Catamounts football national champion hire of course,
either for you already to try and ship your way
in Burlington.
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
You know, I gotta tell you, Todd, I guess you're
the professional. So if the non professionals could hit thirteen
team parlays like Dez Bryant, I don't know if you
heard about this. Somebody said the story about doess Bryant
hit a thirteen team parlay in college basketball for over
four hundred thousand dollars. A matter of fact, the last
(01:01:46):
team he needed was the wolf Pack and they were
playing UNLV. I guess he was in the sports book.
The sportsbook offered him seventy nine thousand. When his team
was trailing by eight points at halftime, he let it ride,
and lucky he did, he got the victory over For you.
I told you it's easy to hit these things. Very
easy Todd hit.
Speaker 9 (01:02:05):
These days, That's exactly why they continue to build these
sports books, aren't he And it's why when you look
at Super Bowl numbers in New Jersey and New York,
you see some of the bigger books holding about seventeen
cents on the dollar. And the main reason is because
everybody comes away a winner. So I'm not quite sure
who the losers are. If you spend any time on
social media, I mean, everybody is a professional better. Nobody
(01:02:26):
should ever have to work a nine to five and
go to the office during football season because the books
are in the business of just handing out checks. But
at the same time, des Briant hitting that thirteen team
are pretty impressive, knowing that it took an improbable comeback,
to say the least, that came at the expense of
our local team here in lovely Las Vegas.
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
I'm curious, Todd.
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
We were just talking about justin fields before you joined us,
and I know we don't get too much into some
of the prop bets on the draft or anything of
that nature. But as someone who's more than just handicapping,
you thoroughly dig into the league. What would you do
if you're the Bears Are you taking Williams number one?
Are you going to move it build around Fields? Which
way would you go with this? If you're Kevin Warren
(01:03:09):
and that crew.
Speaker 9 (01:03:10):
I mean, I'm trying to get whatever I can for
Justin Fields, and I think you know, you hear some
of the NFL rumor mills that are out there. If
the Bears actually do have a first round pick on
the table for him, I don't know why that deal
wasn't made yesterday. So I'm a little bit skeptical of
that actually being the price for Justin Field, especially when
Russell Wilson will most likely get released and he'll be
another free agent quarterback that's out there. Do I think
(01:03:31):
Fields can flourish in another environment if they're going to
coach around his skill set, I'd love to see him
get a fresh out look. I don't think it'll be
in Vegas with Luke Keetsei as the offensive coordinator. I
don't think those two will reunite out here in the desert.
But you know, all the talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers
potentially being in the mix for me fit wise, it
makes absolutely no sense knowing that they still have Kenny Pickett,
(01:03:52):
They'll have to make a decision on if they want
to pay him. I feel a guy like Ryan Tannehill
would be a much better fit, knowing his relationship with
Arthur Smith can provide a lot of the same skill set.
And if things completely flounder for the Steelers, then you
begin to look into the next draft in twenty twenty
five to bring a guy in. So, if I'm the Bears,
I think you're all in on Caleb Williams. And if
it's not Caleb Williams, it's only because the Washington commanders
(01:04:15):
have offered you the sun, the moon, and the stars
to try and bring a local kid back to the
DC area, and you feel that there is enough upside
with either another quarterback or you decide to kick the
can down the road and maybe give Justin Fields another
year with a huge haul of draft capital that you
can get involved with a veteran or draft somebody at
the top of next year's draft.
Speaker 4 (01:04:34):
Todd the NBA All Star Game, I guess a couple
of days ago, Thore was some big wig I was
listening to the guys saying that he put like two
hundred thousand dollars on the under of the total for
the game. Did the total go from two sixty six
down the two point fifty three. It was our big
rush on taking the under. It seemed like a lot
of people were betting the under on this one.
Speaker 9 (01:04:54):
Yeah, there was. I mean, you had some books out
here in the desert actually opened this number at three
sixty eight and a half and then ended up closing
in that three fifty two and a half range. Of course,
it goes over that closing total with a two to
eleven one to eighty six final. And I saw some
of that story, and again we get a lot of
these stories that will circulate. And I'm not around, I'm
not booking bets, but when people are telling me they're
(01:05:16):
able to move two hundred thousand dollars on an All
Star Game, it immediately raises red flags for me. But
you know, some of the information I've been told came
from credible sources. Not going to try and confirm or
deny anything. It just makes me a little bit skeptical
knowing what kind of limits are typically afforded, even to
the biggest casino customers on a glorified exhibition like we see.
(01:05:37):
You know in the NBA All Star Game.
Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
You're in, You're out good stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:05:41):
Todd, have a great week, check out his podcast at
the Board Podcast, and we'll talk to you again soon.
Speaker 9 (01:05:45):
Buddy, Hey, always a pleasure and enjoy a doubleheader and racing. Chris,
I know you're gonna be good to your TV for
the Coffinity Race bright and early tomorrow and a rare
under the lights Daytona five hundred President's Day for everybody
to go.
Speaker 3 (01:05:57):
Get the gotta be awesome. Thanks Todd, Arnie who's on
the poll?
Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
Aj Foyt? Close enough? All right, Steve the seger is
in the house. What's trending? What's going on? Steve?
Speaker 8 (01:06:10):
Is it Logano?
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
It is Joey Logano. That's right, Thank you, Joey Slogano.
Speaker 7 (01:06:16):
So the Xfinity series opener will be Monday morning on
FS one eleven am Eastern Time, and the Daytona five hundred,
which was postponed today, will be tomorrow on Fox TV
four pm Eastern Time since it rained all weekend there
in Florida.
Speaker 2 (01:06:30):
We will in.
Speaker 7 (01:06:31):
About ten minutes talk more about this NBA All Star
Game tonight and about one basketball game, literally only one
that was higher scoring than this. The Eastern Conference tonight
won its game against the West two eleven to one
eighty six. Okay, Damian Lillard the game MVP thirty nine points.
Jalen Brown scored thirty six. Tyrese Haliburton had thirty two
(01:06:54):
points in his home arena for the Pacers.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
Howler purposely is scored at the end to steal the
MVP pe away from Alberta shooting from half court. Yeah,
I'm upset, that's bogus.
Speaker 7 (01:07:04):
Haliburton the first four minutes from three point range was
five of six, a quick fifteen points. He finished with
thirty two. The hometown guy did not get the game MVP. Here,
we have a forty eight minute basketball game tonight. There
were how many field goal attempts?
Speaker 8 (01:07:19):
Two hundred and eighty nine?
Speaker 7 (01:07:21):
Wow, two hundred eighty nine chius played defense plus five
free throws total. Hedeki Matsuyama won the PGA event in
LA by three strokes after a final round sixty two.
The Giants San Francisco Giants officially signed DH Jorges Solaire
to a three year deal. Upset in college hoops at
Ohio State, the Buckeyes have an interim coach making his
(01:07:44):
debut today, Jake Diebler, and they beat number two ranked
per Due seventy three sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
That's so crazy, I mean it is.
Speaker 7 (01:07:51):
This is a bad team this year. This week's coaching change,
Ohio State had lost nine of eleven. They're going up
against the All American Center for the Boilermakers, Zach Edy,
who did.
Speaker 2 (01:08:01):
We never had a foul called on him.
Speaker 7 (01:08:03):
I don't think I've heard that before on this show.
Twenty two points, thirteen rebounds for him, but six turnovers
also in the loss. So Purdue on free throws was
perfect twenty for twenty and they still lost a close
game at Ohio State and the late game on FS
one went to Utah on a last second put back
at UCLA seventy to sixty nine.
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
Are Ucla messed that one up.
Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
They walked the shot and then they let Utah get
the tip it back.
Speaker 7 (01:08:27):
Then the second guy in the lane got it and
put it back in. So UCLA is now fourteen and twelve.
I think we can officially say out loud Ucla is
not going to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament that's the
only ticket in kind of like Arizona some years. Wow,
I just ow and the yeah, we should get the
real not the not that we usually play for Arizona football.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
But there you go, there you go.
Speaker 7 (01:08:52):
Arizona Wildcats are actually a very good basketball team again
this year NHL. We had the outdoor game in New Jersey.
Of course, we had one last night with the Devil
playing today was the Rangers in overtime coming back to
beat the Islanders six to five.
Speaker 2 (01:09:04):
Back to you, thanks Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:09:06):
A couple of quick tweets here Exes whatever we call
him now, Pete Wrights as your Steelers guy. Yeah, just
a little more insight. Mike Tomlin loves Justin Fields. Yes,
and Art the second didn't dismiss adding a quarterback Arthur
Smith is perfect for play action. The Steelers want to
win now for Hayward and Watt.
Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
I can't understand. Is that real?
Speaker 4 (01:09:29):
That's the true story about them wanting to stick with
Kenny Pickett.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
That's that's the dude. Listen to me.
Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Did you did you read the story that Larry Brown
had yesterday at Larry brownsports dot com. It's from the
Pittsburgh Gazette, I think Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
Speaker 2 (01:09:46):
I I nearly lost it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:48):
The Steeler there's there's people in the Steelers organization that
want to stick with Mason Rudolph. I mean, I've got
no issues with Mason Rudolph. But it's not even that
they would want to stick and.
Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
Keep him around.
Speaker 3 (01:10:03):
They were worried that they might have to make a
competitive offer because he had such a good.
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Finish to the season.
Speaker 3 (01:10:08):
Arnie is do you see anyone scratching and clawing and
fighting to bring him Mason freaking Redolf.
Speaker 4 (01:10:13):
That's what I didn't understand. I don't know what's going
on there in Pittstick.
Speaker 2 (01:10:16):
I've no clue.
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
I mean, really, you have a chance to make an
upgraded quarterback. I never thought picking was the answer. I've
been telling you that for a while. I look, if
I was going to be wrong, I'm gonna be wrong.
He just doesn't move the needle for me, Chris, So
I have to go in a different direction, and Mason
Rudolf is not the answer.
Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Darryl Rights, I'm starting to wonder if you actually watch football,
aren't he No, we're just on.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
The air during the games.
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
But besides that, going on, Fields had a chance to
solidify his spot as the Bears quarterback, keeping the dreaded
rival Packers out of the playoffs, and he was a
deer in headlines? What are people not seeing here? Fields
holds the ball too long.
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
He's not a bad team.
Speaker 4 (01:10:56):
I think his play would be so much better when
he leaves it. Team like that, You know what I mean?
That the Bears were just a mess, and I think
you should be able to see the potential in somebody
like him. And I can't believe people don't.
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
Did you have you won eighty on him? I thought
you were pretty anti Justin Field?
Speaker 7 (01:11:12):
No.
Speaker 2 (01:11:12):
I thought I was a pro fields guy. No, No,
I like him and then Roger.
Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
But Todd's right, he's not going through the Raiders with
the former offensive coordinator.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
There a good reminder you sure about that. Listen to
what Luke Getzi had to say when he was asked
about working with Justin Fields.
Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
Because, and here's why, I know you're natural.
Speaker 3 (01:11:35):
I'm gonna cut off your take before you can have
it real quick, because the natural reaction from anyone would be, well,
what else is he supposed to say? He just wouldn't
have to say anything. He could say, I'm not gonna
talk about players that aren't here, right, So this is
the Raiders offensive coordinator talking about Justin Fields.
Speaker 11 (01:11:53):
Tremendous growth for Justin and I told you, like I've
said when I was there, like he's one of the
best human beings I've ever got to work with. It's
just mentality that he brought every day, the consistent approach,
the kind of man that he is. Really, he was
a blessing to work with him, and he was someone
that just came to work every day to get better
and better, and I think he'll continue to do so.
Speaker 12 (01:12:12):
He's sounds sincere exactly because I heard that, and I'm
the first one to say, well, there's no way the
Raiders will be in the Justin Fields fire right because
they just hired his offensive coordinator that got fired because
he couldn't do anything with him.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
So that's that's like the former Bears offensive coordinator.
Speaker 4 (01:12:32):
Am I hearing that it's all gonna cost a second
round pick?
Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:12:36):
I don't think they have a first round pick on
the table for him. I mean I think the Bears
would have made that move already.
Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
Second abound picks are worthless. You know what I think
about those giving out. I give that up in a
heart beat.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
Here's what Kevin Warren, the president of the Bears, said
about Justin Fields this week.
Speaker 6 (01:12:53):
I know from my standpoint and I come to the table,
I'm a supporter of Justin, you know, because I got
a chance to work with him when I was commissioner
Big Ten Conference. He is incredibly talented, He is smart,
he works hard, and he wants to be a great
NFL football player. And so now he just needs to
make sure that he has the support around him. He's
(01:13:13):
working hard, and then I would love to see him,
you know, this off season, make sure he's totally healthy
going into the season next year. Justin has a rare
combination of intelligence, of size, of strength, and speed. You
forget how big of a man he is until you're
up on him. He's not a small man, and so
(01:13:35):
I just think every year he's going to continually get better.
So I'm glad he's on the Chicago Bears.
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
Scene since here, But maybe he should have added I'm
glad he's on the Chicago Bears, what for now, Maybe
he should have been added on the end of.
Speaker 4 (01:13:47):
That right, because there's no doubt that he's going to
be gone. They're going to take Caleb Williams. I don't
even think that's you know, if you know, it's a
done deal as far as I'm concerned.
Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
I would agree. All right, I'm more of your text.
Coming up.
Speaker 3 (01:14:02):
We are only on Roman numeral number seven, so I've
got some work to do there. And when we come
back to Sagar's got everything going on in the world
of sports.
Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
Next on Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (01:14:42):
What's going on to Seger.
Speaker 7 (01:14:45):
Sports TV ratings from Thursday nights we had the TNT
NBA got one million viewers at the same time NASCAR
one point six million Thursday night for the two duel races. Wow,
but a surprising good ratings for last night. NBA All
Star Saturday Night averaged four point six million viewers in
the initial numbers.
Speaker 8 (01:15:06):
That means the same audience.
Speaker 7 (01:15:09):
They had as far as size as the actual All
Star Game a year ago.
Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
People liked the festivities more than the game itself.
Speaker 7 (01:15:15):
I think the audience certainly peaked at ten pm Eastern,
which is when it was Steph Curry against the WNBA
Sabrina Yenescu and a head to head three point contest.
Speaker 2 (01:15:24):
But that was fun. That was good.
Speaker 8 (01:15:26):
It was And then we had the dunk contest after that,
so there's that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
They let me jump over somebody you'll never see that before.
Speaker 8 (01:15:34):
And hit him in the head on the way by.
Speaker 7 (01:15:36):
Also, we mentioned earlier in the show that the recent
Pro Bowl Flag Football game got better ratings than NBA
All Star Game and probably will this year as well.
If you saw the NBA All Star Game tonight. Pro
Bowl Flag Football got five point eight million viewers again
four point six million for last year's NBA All Star Game.
But Baseball's Home Run Derby was over six million viewers
(01:15:58):
last summer, and the actual MLBA All Star Game got
seven million viewers last summer. I'll just take a wild
guess and say part of that is because the MLB
All Star Game you see actual MLB baseball pitchers are
trying to get hitters out it actually resembles the sport
that's going on during the season. And then we go
(01:16:19):
to the NBA All Star Game of tonight's in Indy.
East wins it over the West two eleven to one
eighty six. Karl Anthony Towns in the loss had fifty
points off the bench. Off the bench, he only played
twenty eight minutes and was twenty three of thirty five
shooting from the floor in twenty eight minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
He had to make up for lost time.
Speaker 7 (01:16:40):
I guess, huh, my goodness, shay Gilles Alexander thirty one points,
but the winner of game, MVP Damian Lillard had thirty
nine points. The East as a team just on three
point tries was forty two for ninety seven. There were
a total of them good three fouls called in this
game and only three block shots total, and I mentioned
(01:17:01):
early only five total free throws. Amazingly, Statsing points out
that the two to eleven scored by the winning team
tonight the Eastern Conference is actually only the second most
ever scored by a proer college team in a game,
be it All Star, playoffs or regular season, because in
nineteen ninety two, Troy, when it was still a Division
(01:17:21):
two school won a game against DeVry of Atlanta two
fifty eight to one forty one college constable, this is
a forty minute game in college basketball, but yes, their
style of play. Then they led Division two that year,
averaging over one hundred and twenty points and giving up
one to eight per game for the season. Apparently the
(01:17:44):
coach at the time, his philosophy was just go for
the steal on defense. If they score, the quicker they score,
the more we can beat him down to the west.
He actually asked for game tapes from West End of LMU,
but it's a disputed final. It was either two fifty
three or two fifty eight. They could side by lost track,
(01:18:05):
but that stands. That's amazing because at that pace the
opponent only had seven players and pretty soon got rid
of every forty in its athletic department. It was only
three and fifteen at the time. But nonetheless, sun Real
worth mentioning that is clearly unreal.
Speaker 8 (01:18:20):
Well show hey.
Speaker 7 (01:18:21):
Otani will not be playing in the Dodgers spring opener
on Thursday against the Padres. He's coming off elbow sergery.
Otani did not take batting practice today. Why so much
baseball talk early it's because the Dodgers and Padres started
the workouts early. They are starting the regular season early,
with two games in South Korea against each other March
twentieth and twenty first, so about a month away, and
(01:18:43):
the Padres are going to start Xander Bogart's at second
base this year with gold Glover Hassung Kim from South
Korea moving to shortstop. Kim can be a free agent
after this year. The Giants officially signed former Braves World
Series MVP as their DH Jorge Solaire three years forty two.
He led the Marlins with thirty six homers last season. Amazingly,
(01:19:04):
the Giants haven't had a thirty home run hitter since
Barry Bonds twenty years ago. Dati all MLB teams have
reported to spring training. Most of the full squad workouts
start Monday or Tuesday. This week the important dates for
the NFL, believe it or not, In a couple of days,
you can start designating franchise tag players or transition tags players,
(01:19:24):
but that deadline for it is not till March the fifth.
The NFL scouting Combine, still in Indianapolis, starts at the
end of this month and goes till March the fourth,
and then the new league years starts March thirteenth, So
in other words, all this past year's contracts expire there
in mid March, and then a trading period begins. And
once we get to the NFL Draft, which will be
(01:19:46):
in Detroit, that's three days worth late April. That will
start April the twenty fifth. And you may have heard,
Tiger Woods withdrew from the Gulf Event in La on
Friday due to illness. He was host of this tournament.
He was one over par in the first round, barely
in the top fifty. Had back problems this week as well.
He was making his first start in an official PGA
Tour event since he withdrew from the Masters ten months
(01:20:08):
ago and had ankle surgery. The next LIV Golf tournament
starts March first in Saudi Arabia. Today's PGA event, actually
like Gligbook Golf, gave four million dollars to the winner.
It was Sideki Matsuyama with a final end sixty two.
Speaker 2 (01:20:23):
Back to wow, it's good all.
Speaker 3 (01:20:25):
Right, hey, the Seger We got an update coming up
here in a bit, so if you missed anything, let's
get caught up on all the scores here in mirror moments,
and when we come back, it is Bill Belichick back
and what could end up being the most interesting team
of the NFL offseason, and all kinds of reaction to
(01:20:46):
that scintillating NBA All Star Game coming up. You heard
the man. We're coming to you live from the ti
rack dot com studios. Tyrack dot com. We'll help you
get there and unmatched a selection, fast, free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire
rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
Speaker 2 (01:21:09):
So are you.
Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
As we watch more highlights, as we listen to more audio,
anything opinion wise change about the All Star Game and
what we witnessed tonight.
Speaker 4 (01:21:22):
No, I think I mike everybody else out there. I
think everybody's at their Witsand then you know, I think
Bob Ryan said, it's like a farce, It's like an embarrassment.
I'm not gonna go ahead and rip it like that,
and you don't make too much of a thing about it.
But it's reached its peak. We've already moved on past it.
I don't know what we're gonna do in replace of it.
I don't know what else we could come up new.
(01:21:44):
I mean, we're always for the entertainment value, but I'm
thinking that we just have to go ahead and just
suck it up and continue like this, unless we want
to go ahead and figure out a new way to
entertain the people during the All Star weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
Did I mention that we're broadcasting live from the Tirack
dot com studios?
Speaker 2 (01:22:02):
Did I mention that, yes, Irac dot Com, We'll help
you get there. Okay, if I did good. I want
to talk so much NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
But there's so many times on this show when we're done,
and I realize there's a lot of good tweets that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
I didn't get to. So let's kind of cleanse the palette.
Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
Here to start the final hour with some of the
best tweets of the show.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
You can find us at Stinking Genius one.
Speaker 3 (01:22:24):
I'm at Plank Show, and everybody should be following us
at Foxsports Radio. All right, let's start this from UCLA
Dodger Frank, because I don't disagree with him. I just
wonder what it's gonna take. He writes, You know what
was a fun watch on TV today? The NHL The
(01:22:46):
Stadium game between the Rangers and the Islanders was great,
and then my Kings get too late goals to win
in Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
Yeah they ruined.
Speaker 3 (01:22:55):
But Yarmi or Yager's jersey retirement ceremony, I just I
don't know how it felt so far behind or why
it is the way it is. But outside of markets
with NHL teams, it's still a tough sell to to
build up and talk hockey.
Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
Man, it just is it is.
Speaker 4 (01:23:13):
And there's so many good markets though that absolutely love it.
But it's just something that doesn't hit the you know,
doesn't scratch the service for a lot of people. They
just don't really get into it. They don't care about it.
Though when it comes to the playoffs, we get a
little bit more excited about it. More people kind of
jump aboard to watch.
Speaker 3 (01:23:33):
That, and then they become experts and they want to
find ways to fix it all the time.
Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
I had a blast. Why wasn't I watching this all season?
Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
Here's what we need to do, what it needs to
like be the potential end of their season, right, That's
what gets people excited whenever there's a chance to win
a title. This was an interesting perspective, kind of dovetailing
off that from Bake Bakes here on Twitter.
Speaker 2 (01:23:57):
Rights.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Give
the NBA and NHL their own respective seasons. There are
twelve bleeping months in the year. Okay, well, where are
you gonna move it to?
Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
Yeah, you can't do It's not gonna have to something.
Speaker 4 (01:24:10):
These these seasons go like eight months long, so eight
months that you do them out there, it's just not
going to work.
Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
It just just can't happen that way, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
And you would know this because you've covered a heck
of a lot more hockey than I have. But I
think it's the shortest offseason in sports. I mean literally,
it's a it's an eight month schedule, and the.
Speaker 4 (01:24:30):
Stilly comes in June, sometimes as late as June, and
then you get it's starting back up in with preseason
in like September.
Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
Yeah, I mean it. It'd be hard to find where
they get shifted. I don't mind the idea. There's enough
coverage to go round, but we just man, we get
set in our ways and football is king right now
and it's hard to shake that. Pete's been really good
on Twitter tonight. He writes it's because all Star games
suck guys. The great players don't do the dunk contest,
(01:25:02):
the three point or the home run derby. And honestly,
I've never enjoyed the Pro Bowl. You know, It's funny,
you and I joke that All Star Game week in baseball,
because it's the middle of the season, is always fixed
the game week, what's wrong with the game? Same with
the NFL leading up to the Super Bowl. The NBA,
it's it's also, I mean, there hasn't been a lot
(01:25:22):
of complaining. I guess that there were, you know, talks
about a team in Vegas. They were talks about, you know,
shutting down the G League, ignite and things of that nature.
But you know, it's it's funny, we really haven't had
too much complaining about the game or the playoffs or
I guess we're fighting about the amount of games you
need to be required to play to be eligible for
(01:25:43):
the MVP.
Speaker 4 (01:25:44):
And plus they did talk about expansion. I mean, I
really believe the NBA's got you know, obviously I'm going
to go ahead and expand to what to Las Vegas,
to Seattle, to Montreal. That was one of the rumors
we were hearing out there. So can you imagine aboutre
that'd be like an hour from me. How great would
that be?
Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
You're an hour away from a lot of stuff you
just don't choose to get out.
Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
I don't understand, right exactly. Can you imagine it's only
an hour from me? Why aren't you like an hour
from Boston too?
Speaker 4 (01:26:14):
No, I'm about three and a half hours. Oh okay, yeah,
that's why I stand correct and I stand corrected. But
you know, to that point, more than anything else, it
was an opportunity to kind of showcase your stars, you know,
and have some fun with it. But it just in
a week when there wasn't a lot of complaining and
there wasn't a lot of negativity, you created it with
(01:26:37):
this pathetic display of hoops that we saw. My gosh,
how about a double shot here from Calvert?
Speaker 2 (01:26:44):
At that? Damn bear on Twitter rights.
Speaker 3 (01:26:45):
The NBA All Star Game is for entertainment for mid
twenties and younger, the kids that don't know the history
of how the game used to be played. And Carl
Anthony Towns puts fifty up and nobody will care in
two days.
Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
Well nobody will.
Speaker 4 (01:27:00):
Why don't you just play the NBA All Star Game
like the week before the Super Bowl, then nobody will
really care.
Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
How about that?
Speaker 3 (01:27:06):
And then Sharon asks a good question. I'm excited to
see how much Arnie's home electric bill will go up
when he starts charging it at home.
Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
Funny, I'm I'm curious about that. Also, my wife's already
freaking out.
Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
Oh I'm so great.
Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
We got a hybrid when it's just gonna cost us
more than the gasoline's.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Gonna cost us. Is that right? I have no idea.
I have no idea. Oh it's right because I just
got it on Friday.
Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
I have no idea how much this thing is gonna cost.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
Okay, I want to hit a couple of the Roman
numerals to put a rap on some football talk. It's
already in Plank on Fox Sports Radio, coming to you
live from the Tirack dot com studios.
Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
We talked Justin Field's Last Hour.
Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
If you missed it, check out the podcast Fox Sports
Radio dot Com or search Fox Sports Radio. However, you
consume podcasts after the games before I hit Roman numeral seven, though,
Arnie Roman numeral six.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
Super Bowl changes, Well, do.
Speaker 3 (01:28:05):
You got in mind anything anything from this last Super
Bowl that led you to think things needed.
Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
I'm still okay with the two weeks in between. I
have no reason to want to rush it. I wouldn't
prefer to move it to a Saturday, though, after thirteen
days instead of the fourteenth day, and we'll do it
on Sunday because it's so tough, especially on the East Coast.
People get up, they got to go to work. You've
heard the whole you know, complaining and all that. So
I would love for the game to be on a Saturday.
(01:28:32):
I think more people would enjoy it, to be more parties.
As for kickoff for the game, if you're gonna move
it to Saturday, then you could have it like eight
o'clock Eastern at five o'clock Pacific time and have a
true night game. And I wouldn't be opposed to a
home field in the super Bowl, to be honest with.
Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
You, we had won a couple of years ago with
the Buccaneers.
Speaker 4 (01:28:54):
Nobody like just whoever has the better record gets Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:28:58):
So, don't bid it out, don't make the billions that
you make off the Super Bowl. Actually get it into
a situation to where it can be in where would
it have been, Would it have been in San Francisco,
where it could be in Santa Clara if they're the
higher seeded team.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Is that what you're saying right exactly?
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
That's that I wouldn't be against that because I really
don't care about the money making aspect for the NFL,
and I think that'd be better for the fans.
Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
Well, that's not happening. I know that.
Speaker 3 (01:29:27):
I don't disagree with you. I think it'd be really cool.
But you know that that toothpaste is out.
Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Of the two.
Speaker 4 (01:29:31):
You know, I don't like neutral SYCH games, even in college.
Speaker 2 (01:29:33):
I don't like the neutral SYCH games. No, I understand.
I mean this.
Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
You complain about the OU Texas game being one of
the greatest settings in sports, But I also I don't know, man,
I don't think we need to move it off Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:29:48):
I think Sunday is great. It's okay.
Speaker 3 (01:29:50):
We we screw around with the sports calendar too much
as it is.
Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
And okay, if.
Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
You we moved to college football to Monday, right, the
championship games on a Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
Yeah, it's dumb.
Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
Why how many college football games do you watch on
Monday during the season.
Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
I'm not sure why we do it on a Monday.
Maybe that's just the way it works.
Speaker 9 (01:30:12):
Out.
Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
That's what TV was during well during the holiday period,
I'm thinking, is why they do that?
Speaker 4 (01:30:18):
But but the for the championship game, for the oh,
the championship games way past the holidays now, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:30:25):
Right, yeah, yeah yeah. I mean it's just there's no
rhyme or reason to it. TV won oh Mondays will
work because Saturday is not a big night when TV's watched.
It just Isn't you go out and you enjoy I
is it?
Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
I mean I understand everyone's like, oh, I gotta go
to work on Monday. Okay, well, I mean this is
a crazy thought, but like, don't get hammered on Sunday.
You know, maybe pace yourself, mix in a water or something.
I mean, does anybody really do work Monday after the
Super Bowl outside of the die hard manual laborers who
have to grind and keep us rolling.
Speaker 4 (01:30:56):
I mean, we got off the air, what was it
a eleven o'clock and the game just ended.
Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
Arnie yeah, ten Central, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:31:06):
Eleven o'clock Eastern. That's that's off.
Speaker 2 (01:31:08):
We wait for the people on the East coast.
Speaker 3 (01:31:11):
Boo bukaroo, get out of that stupid time zone. I mean,
my gosh, it's ridiculous anyway. But it's I don't think
the super Bowl or anything about the super Bowl is
gonna change.
Speaker 2 (01:31:21):
In fact, it wouldn't surprise me.
Speaker 3 (01:31:23):
I mean, aren't we talking about an extra week of
the NFL season or maybe an extra bye week. It
wouldn't surprise me if it's by the time where it's
all said and done, Arnie, if it's not in like
mid February, you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:35):
Know what I mean, it almost is already.
Speaker 4 (01:31:37):
You said there's not gonna be any changes. I'm not
so sure about that, because, as you mentioned, the longer
they you know, make the super Bowl go, they may
want to have only one week between the Championship game
and the super Bowl. If it's going to drag on
that longer or that much longer, I hope you're right.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
I hate the week off. I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
I understand it is probably easier for players and everyone involved.
Speaker 2 (01:31:59):
But let's let's go, man.
Speaker 3 (01:32:01):
We get these teams out there where they can play
and something matters from what happened the week before. Also,
I think it's an unfair advantage for Andy Reid and
Patrick Mahomes. So Bill Arnie, San Francisco had a pretty
good can plan to count with him early on. So
if your thought is, well, you can't give Andy Reid
and Patrick Mahomes two weeks to prepare San Francisco had
(01:32:22):
him right where they wanted him. That ball doesn't hit
off that dude's leg on the point he might be
singing a different tune right now.
Speaker 4 (01:32:28):
Yeah, there's so many different plays. There's probably like a
half a dozen plays I could say that would have
put San Francisco to a much better situation or probably
would have.
Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
Won the game. They just avoided that one play, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
So I guess as a duo we come to the
conclusion in Roman numeral six super Bowl changes possibility we
go back to one week if the season continues to
expand you think there's a chance it can end up
on Saturday.
Speaker 4 (01:32:59):
I think that's a better possibility than just about anything else.
And nature Boy says, can we go back to just
one long overtime? So nobody gets confused on that. Yeah,
it was a little confusing to see if that was
going to And he had no idea, And even San
Francisco didn't know that, uh use be uh Kansas City
(01:33:20):
know that they had caught the winning touchout at the time,
except for Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (01:33:23):
Mikil Hartman, like is the game over?
Speaker 3 (01:33:27):
Because I wasn't even aware and Steve had had it nailed,
and I'm sitting there like they gotta go, they're running
out of time, and like no, no, no, It's essentially
like you started a new game and there's two quarters
here and like what what that that? I agree with
nature boy on that.
Speaker 4 (01:33:46):
But they were hustling like they thought it was you
know what I mean, like that it was going to
be the end of the game if they did not
score by it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:53):
I didn't think.
Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
I didn't think Kansas City was I thought they were
being damned deliberate. As a matter of fact, I kind
of thought that's the one thing that everyone was freaking
out about. And you and I were live on the
air and it was a kind of a hairy, frenzy time.
But and even going back and watching it, I thought
that they were I was freaking out at the time
because I thought they were gonna let the clock run out.
I thought they were taking too much time, right, But
(01:34:18):
I don't think that everyone's gonna lose their mind about
saying that's the overtime that we need.
Speaker 4 (01:34:25):
Do you just stick with that? Overtime or one long overtime.
Speaker 2 (01:34:30):
No, no, no, no, no, stick with what we did in
the Super Bowl. I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
Yeah, I could see them sticking with what they have
in the Super Bowl right now. It's just really yeah,
I don't think they're gonna go what change would you make.
Speaker 2 (01:34:41):
It too, Chris, one long overtime instead.
Speaker 4 (01:34:45):
Instead of flipping the field at the end of the
first fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Yeah, no, I mean no, I just you always have
to flip the field. You always have to do that.
Speaker 4 (01:34:55):
Why in case there's an unfair advantage on want into
the field over the other.
Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Well, they never flipped the field.
Speaker 4 (01:35:02):
They scored before it was over, right, But they would
have flipped the field had it gone to zero.
Speaker 2 (01:35:08):
You didn't even know they were gonna flip the field.
Speaker 4 (01:35:11):
I thought that's the way it was going to come out.
I didn't think the game was so this way. I
didn't think the game was going to be over had
they not scored. I didn't think it was gonna go
like that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
That's funny.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
It's like suddenly you come with this take where you're like, well,
they've got to It's like you didn't even know they
were going to do it. Whenever it happened, now it
has to Oh okay, let me ask you this. Why
not just adopt the college way started the twenty five
yard line. Each team gets a possession. I feel like
you need to prove you can drive the field.
Speaker 4 (01:35:40):
Yeah, I agree with you on that. I don't want
to do it that way. I feel like you do
have to go and show that you got to pick
up a couple of first downs otherwise you've got the punt.
And by the way, you got to take the ball second.
There's no doubt in my mind, mathematically and everything else.
Do you want to go ahead and say you taking
the ball first put you at a disadvantage?
Speaker 3 (01:36:00):
By the way, Since we're moving on from this, and
we got to grab a break and we're gonna talk
Bill Belichick a bit when we come back, ad happy
for life, seven rights? Why don't we just move President's
Day to the day after the Super Bowl every single year?
Speaker 2 (01:36:14):
Who would actually be mad?
Speaker 9 (01:36:16):
Well?
Speaker 2 (01:36:16):
Nobody? Nobody.
Speaker 3 (01:36:18):
I mean, my kids are off school tomorrow, so can
we You know, if we were to move the super
Bowl one.
Speaker 2 (01:36:23):
Morning week work tomorrow? Is there work tomorrow? I mean
I assume so I think banks are closed It's President's Day,
aren't he? Come on, man, banks are closed. I know that,
yet there you go, President's Day National Holiday? Do are
you filling in? Do guys take off?
Speaker 4 (01:36:42):
I think guys are taking off. I'm not filling in tomorrow, though,
So come on.
Speaker 3 (01:36:46):
Okay, this NBA that everybody crams down our freaking throats
has its All Star Game, and everybody's gonna take the
Monday off after Yes, exactly, Oh, NBA is incredible. All right,
all Star game time. Now we're gonna take Monday off
after it because we don't feel like talking about it.
I don't blame him, don't. If we could have wiped
(01:37:07):
that from my memory that took place today, I would
be okay with it.
Speaker 2 (01:37:10):
That was terrible, by the way. I had.
Speaker 4 (01:37:11):
News says they'll never move to Super Bowl to Saturday
because you can't get one hundred and twenty plus million
audience in there a million audience in that time slot.
Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
That's not true. Why would you?
Speaker 4 (01:37:21):
And I know Saturday is not supposed to be the
big TV day, but the Super Bowl is you know,
must watch, you know, appointment television. So I think people
go out of their way to to go ahead and
watch that well.
Speaker 3 (01:37:34):
I think it would rate well if you put it
on a Saturday morning.
Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
I mean, I just think it's the Super Bowl. It's
always going to get numbers.
Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
And I don't think it really has anything to do
with the day that it's on, right, But that's just me, Right,
I could be wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
The people that don't watch. What do you think is
the biggest reason among people that don't watch? They got
to get ready for work tomorrow, or they're not interested.
You move it to a Saturday, then they don't. You
take away one of the excuses, you know what I mean.
So it's gotta go up first Saturday.
Speaker 2 (01:38:01):
I'm thinking, well, I will I would add that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:05):
I do think there's a lot of people that just
Starrett NFL fans too, and then there's some NFL fans that, like, say,
I don't know a Lions fan or maybe a Ravens fan,
and that's not a massive number that they're not gonna watch.
But that's always the most amazing thing to me is
I'll see the Super Bowl ratings like, Wow, that's wild,
and to me, I'm like, well, who's not watching the game?
Speaker 2 (01:38:23):
Period? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:38:25):
How are these numbers not bigger? How is it not
a billion that aren't watching the Super Bowl? What else
are you people watching the game?
Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
Exactly? All right?
Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
We could talk about this all night long. You guys
have fired up some good takes at Stinking Genius One.
I'm at Plank Show when we come back. Is Bill
Belichick's future home actually gonna be decided sooner rather than later.
Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
We'll dive into it next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:38:51):
Sarny and Plank coming to you live from the Tairaq
dot com studios, brought to you in part by Discover.

got an update, Oh go ahead?
Speaker 2 (01:39:12):
And how come you never got the Roman numeral ten?
Speaker 3 (01:39:15):
Hold on here, I couldn't print off your rundown. And
I'm getting old and I'm half blind. Now let's see
Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 4 (01:39:23):
Yeah, I mean, come on, now, you're the you know
you love the women's sports more than anybody out there.
Speaker 2 (01:39:29):
Come on, it's great. I just.
Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
Because the conversations around have become dumb. I'm getting so old.
I'm so cranky.
Speaker 4 (01:39:40):
You are cranky.
Speaker 3 (01:39:41):
It's just, first of all, that's what happens when you
work in overnight. Everyone that works in overnight, it's usually
pretty cranky. But except for Bernie, Bernie's got a great
outlook on things. Here's what happens is no one can
ever just say, man, Kaylyn Clark is amazing and what
she's doing wing is transcending women's basketball. Well, then it
(01:40:04):
becomes well, she's not doing anything more than Rebecca Lobo
did or these players before her that deserve as much
pub It's.
Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
Not great, but she's never won a championship or something.
Speaker 3 (01:40:14):
That's right, something like that, or then it goes completely
over the top to where you guys were talking about
this last night. Right, I draft her in the NBA
if I had to.
Speaker 4 (01:40:23):
Pick, If they said that, the people were putting that
they would take a chance of her in the second round.
I just as a funny thing said, who would you
rather draft Bronnie James or Caitlyn Clark. Was Bronnie James.
I guess the Lakers were saying they would appease Lebron
by drafting him, And I'm like, I'd rather draft Caitlyn
Clark than BRODDI James.
Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
Well, I like Caitlyn Clark a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:40:45):
I think that it's a great story. We don't have
to fight about it.
Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
Enjoy it. She's fun to watch, dude.
Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
They're selling out Iowa women's basketball, selling out arenas all
over the country because of Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 4 (01:40:59):
But she's getting a lot of criticism for everything exactly
because we build someone up her skin color, for her
being strayed. It's like everything they're picking out her about
it was a Charles Swoops that came up with the well,
she really didn't break the record, but she's played five
years when it was really four years. Well, and she
(01:41:19):
did it in fewer games, right, and she shoots forty
points forty times a game, which is true, was twenty
times a game. Yeah, I mean she literally botched up
every one of those analogies.
Speaker 3 (01:41:31):
It was like you, I mean, you had to feel
like that was someone right and absolutely.
Speaker 2 (01:41:37):
But here here's the other part of it. Enjoy it.
Speaker 3 (01:41:40):
I Mean, this is where I know I'm becoming cranky
old man. Is that not everything that happens has to
be a debate. Not everything that happens in sports has
to end up being some kind of well this is
how I see it, and this is what it's doing,
and this is what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
No, it's just it's it's really cool for women's basket.
I go back to Iowa, bro, I go back to school.
Speaker 3 (01:42:01):
That that's the thing, though, I mean, you're gonna make
more money in n I L than you are in
the w n B.
Speaker 4 (01:42:07):
A n I L will stay with her even if
she went to w NBA. That's not the point, though.
Speaker 2 (01:42:11):
It wouldn't No, why not, absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
They would just drop her.
Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
Arnie, What do.
Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
You think a collective for Iowa is going to continue
to pay her whenever she goes to the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:42:25):
I guess it depends on the company and how much exposure.
Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
Okay, No, you're you're looking at it wrong. You're looking
at ni L as like Raising Kines has a deal
with her.
Speaker 2 (01:42:34):
Yes, yeah, yeah, that's what exactly what. That's not what.
Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
This is a collective that comes together and they buy
her rights to market her or maybe she controls them
more for her.
Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Because if it was.
Speaker 4 (01:42:44):
Like Raising Kanes, I would say they would stay with
her years from that.
Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
There's certain there's certain entities that sponsor her that that
are gonna be with her forever. I'm sure Nike is
one of them. Yes, I would, but it's you know,
it's a collective. It's whatever the Hawkeyes collective is that's
going to come up with a number where they're going
to pay her more to play at Iowa.
Speaker 2 (01:43:05):
Then she'll get in the w NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Right now, imagine if we're having that conversation for a
moment in any other sport. Imagine if I could tell
you that Cayleb Williams was going to be the number
one pick in the draft, but he truly has to
make a decision between the NFL and college because he
can make more in college than being the number one
pick in the draft. Or imagine saying that in the NBA.
It's just it's it's wild. Yeah, shows you how far
(01:43:28):
the w NBA still has to come.
Speaker 4 (01:43:30):
Right exactly that That was going to be my point.
They're just not established like the NBA and the NFL.
It's not even close. College basketball is still the option.
College basketball is bigger. You know, I just found out
that it was Kim Maulkey. Remember I used to talk
about I remember watching college women's basketball when they had
that girl in Louisi outa Tech to louis Out of
Tech with the with the ponytails, right, that was her.
Speaker 2 (01:43:55):
That was Kim Moltkey playing. Yes, huh, how about that?
I thought you were going to go back. I thought
you're gonna go back, Cheryl Miller.
Speaker 3 (01:44:02):
No, No, you're telling me you're getting Kim Mulkey high
on the hotness scale?
Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
Is that what you're going with?
Speaker 4 (01:44:09):
I always thought she was cute with the Louisiana Tech
shirt on it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:13):
It took us three different angles before we got to
the looks of women's basketball players.
Speaker 2 (01:44:19):
Well done, well done, alreadie bring us back to our
sexist pig roots. Were we woah? No at all seriousness though.
Speaker 3 (01:44:26):
I just I'm not someone that's gonna sit here scratch
Clawn fight over Caitlin Clark because I just enjoy watching her.
And if former players in women's basketball want to be
mad because she's getting coverage that they deserved, then that's fine.
Speaker 4 (01:44:40):
I mean, that's you're right, but but at least get
your facts right. I do think she's a better shooter
than can I say outside shoot better than fifty percent
of the guys in the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:44:53):
Well, I mean, they shoot a different basketball. Would she
still be that same with men's ball?
Speaker 2 (01:45:01):
Probably? Right, But I mean it's kind of tough to say,
because it would be tough to say. Probably not.
Speaker 3 (01:45:06):
I guess Arnie Spaniel would be in the league if
he got to shoot the women's basketball.
Speaker 2 (01:45:10):
That we always hear from guys. But from a stroke
from everything she does, Yeah, she's a heck of a shooter.
She'ssolutely great. Great.
Speaker 3 (01:45:17):
All right, listen, I'm sorry, I could talk about this
all night long, but when we come back, we got
to get to this Bill Belichick stuff, and your tweets
are really good. First, for one final time tonight from
the tire rack dot Com studio, Steve just Saeger's in
the house.
Speaker 2 (01:45:29):
What's up, Steve.
Speaker 7 (01:45:30):
Kim Moulti played on the US Olympic team in LA
in nineteen eighty four. Cheryl Miller on that team, Lynnette Woodard,
who is still, by the way, the all time leading
scorer in Winn's college basketball.
Speaker 8 (01:45:42):
Despite what went on.
Speaker 7 (01:45:44):
This past week, the NCAAA you've seen didn't sponsor women's
hoops until the nineteen eighties. So all these people like
Ann Myers, who was honored at the All Star game tonight.
Their records somehow don't count, like they weren't stars in
their own right back in the old days. But anyway,
there's that basketball today. Number one South Carolina won its
forty third straight conference game in the regular season, beating
(01:46:06):
Georgia seventy to fifty six, and Number twenty one Baylor
won its game sixty one thirty two over Texas Tech.
Texas Tech women's hoops had thirty two points and twenty
nine turnovers in the contest. Pretty good or nounced college
hoops men's upset at Ohio State. The Buck Guys had
a coaching change recently, so the interim coach, Jake Diebler
(01:46:28):
was making his debut. Ohio State had lost nine of eleven,
and at home they upset Number two produced seventy three
to sixty nine. South Florida is now twelve and one
in the American Conference after holding on to beat number
twenty four Florida Atlantic ninety to eighty six. FAU just
four and four on the road this year, Minnesota beat
Rutgers eighty one to seventy. Northwestern won a close one
(01:46:50):
at Indiana seventy six seventy two Wildcats with only three turnovers.
Seaton Hall came back to beat Rick Patino's team at
Saint John's sixty eight sixty two. Seaton Hall was down
eight to nothing early, down by twelve at the half,
and Utah and the late game on FS one won
at UCLA on a last second put back seventy to
sixty nine. There was the NHL outdoor game today in
(01:47:11):
New Jersey. Rangers came back for an overtime win against
the Islanders sixty five. LA Kings won two to one
at Pittsburgh. Colorado at home, edged Arizona four to three.
The San Francisco Giants officially signed DH Jorges Solaire to
a three year deal. Hideki Matsuyama won the PGA event
in LA by three strokes after a final round sixty two.
Matsuyama earned four million dollars. The two runners up each
(01:47:34):
got one point eight million dollars for not winning. Xander
Shaffley missed a late six foot putt and fell to
fourth place a mere eight hundred and sixty thousand or so,
but that was a very very costly miss putt. At
the end, the Daytona five hundred was postponed to tomorrow
at four pm Eastern Time on Fox TV. It rained
all weekend there. The Xfinity Series opener will be held
(01:47:57):
Monday morning on FS one eleven am Eastern Time. The
NBA season resumes on Thursday night with twelve games. The
league's buy out deadline is March first. That's the final
day a player can be waived by one team but
remain eligible to play in the postseason for another. And
then there's the NBA All Star Game, which was held
in Indianapolis tonight. The East won it. They scored fifty
(01:48:18):
three points in the first quarter. By halftime they had
one hundred and four points. At the end of three
they were up to one sixty. East wins the game
two eleven to one eighty six. This is basketball we're
talking about. The old record in the All Star Game
was one hundred and ninety six points by the winning side.
Damian Lillard the game MVP. He had thirty nine points,
(01:48:40):
a total of three fouls called in the game and
only three block shots.
Speaker 2 (01:48:45):
Why even have refs? Just call your own.
Speaker 7 (01:48:48):
You could have just borrowed the WWE refs for this one.
What do you got a chair? Okay, okay, that's fine.
Karl Anthony Towns fifty points off the bench in the loss.
In fact, twenty eight minutes on the court, he was
twenty three of thirty five shooting and overall forty eight
minute NBA game two hundred eighty nine shots two hundred
(01:49:09):
eighty nine field goal attempts in tonight's exhibition.
Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
Back to you, but tell me about how great it is.
Go ahead. I'm sorry, Arnie, No, it's so where's the defense?
That's all I said. Just unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (01:49:21):
But you know what's kind of funny is if it
would have been a defensive struggle and guys dat up
and they didn't score any points, then people would be
complaining because it was too defensive.
Speaker 10 (01:49:31):
Right, It's like, oh my gosh, he stop playing so hard.
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
What's wrong with you? All right?
Speaker 3 (01:49:38):
D The tweets on the show tonight have been really
really good at Stink Genius one. I'm at Plank Show.
Everyone should follow us at Fox Sports Radio. How about
crazy Tanker? He writes, Why don't they just move the
game up to three o'clock Eastern? This gives the Drunks
(01:49:58):
three and a half hours of recovery time after the super.
Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
Bowl too early.
Speaker 4 (01:50:02):
If anything, it's gonna be four clock eastern. You got
to keep it away. You can't have it that early,
you know, obviously strictly for viewers and numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
There, Sharon, Right.
Speaker 3 (01:50:13):
So the only overtime plan that makes sense to me
is to just play a full quarter fair to both teams.
Speaker 4 (01:50:22):
You mean, instead of just having you can score. No,
you can't do that because then next thing, then they
can drag out for like a whole other game if
you do something like that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:32):
Calbert's been on fire tonight, first week of February, All
Star Game, second week Super Bowl, third week NBA All
Star Game, exhausting Sundays. Well, I'll trade them all for
a little bit more football. Now that leads to the question,
are we gonna be in on this show on the UFL?
(01:50:53):
Are we gonna cover it now that the XFL and
the USFL is combined and we don't have to worry about, Hey,
is this team in that league or they in this league?
Speaker 2 (01:51:02):
I mean, right, are we going to be in this year?
Or now?
Speaker 4 (01:51:04):
I may buy a T shirt that would be about
the extent of it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
But I mean I watch it out.
Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
I mean I'll watch it if i'm if I'm at
home and I'm flipping through.
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
I don't think it's appointment televion.
Speaker 4 (01:51:15):
It's certainly not like I'm watching the NFL or or
anything like that. So you know, I used to have
season tickets to Arena Football, right, and I enjoyed great.
I enjoyed that a lot. We had a blast and
I found it very closely. But I don't know if
I can do that with this.
Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
I don't think I could either. I don't think I could.
Nick writes. Super Bowl fifty eight was the most watched
telecast in history, with one hundred and twenty four million viewers,
most watched TV event since Apollo eleven ten million more
viewers than last year's blockbuster featuring the Chiefs and the
Philadelphia Eagles. Thanks to Taylor, she deserves a hat tip.
(01:51:56):
I think, don't you guys, she brought.
Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
It a couple extra million. It was an the most
watched thing ever. Is that what we said? I always
thought it was a season finale of MASH. I thought
that was one of them.
Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
Every single time I hear about the most watched evinced
in TV history, it's like, oh, yeah, it was the
It was this season finale of MASH.
Speaker 4 (01:52:22):
Thirteen that landed on the Moon.
Speaker 3 (01:52:24):
I'm not sure this most watched broadcast of all time.
Actually this this can't be right Google. Oh that's in Australia.
That's why. Hold on, I'll figure it out here in
just a bit of crockadile, dundee, not crocodile.
Speaker 2 (01:52:39):
Okay, ahead news. He's had a couple of good ones tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
Why is the NBA so afraid of straight up USA
versus the World All Star Game? Seems like a solution
to the travesty against basketball that we have to watch
each other.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
That is, that is a solution.
Speaker 4 (01:52:54):
That's not bad at all, to be honest, that's not I.
Speaker 3 (01:52:56):
Don't I don't mind that, and everyone still takes it so,
you know, personally, the World Baseball Classic, we all kind
of laughed right whenever it first was.
Speaker 4 (01:53:09):
Right, right, Yeah, it's awesome. It's gotten better since it started.
Speaker 2 (01:53:13):
It really truly is awesome. So why not? And then
are we up against it?
Speaker 4 (01:53:18):
All?
Speaker 5 (01:53:18):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:53:19):
Adam writes Arnie should just apply for that weather position
for the solar eclipse in twenty forty four. The Dolphins
and Mets still won't have championships by then, so he'll
have plenty of free time while he's charging his electric car.
Speaker 2 (01:53:33):
It's twenty four.
Speaker 4 (01:53:34):
Forty four, by the way, is when the next solar
eclipse is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (01:53:38):
No career for me.
Speaker 4 (01:53:39):
I'm already Spannier live from the solar eclipse in Burlington, Vermont.
Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
Back to you guys at the y S studio.
Speaker 3 (01:53:45):
Right, But you don't know anything about it. You don't
have anything to add except for your right living.
Speaker 2 (01:53:50):
So what though? So what?
Speaker 4 (01:53:54):
Sometimes you just you know, just report what you see.
Speaker 3 (01:53:57):
I'm trying to think of any of our buddies at
work in Vegas off the top of my head. But
could you imagine you have a friend that just I
don't know, they're a banker, but they think because the
Super Bowl is there, they should be doing Super Bowl
updates or sports updates. Could you imagine how hot you
would be. It's like Fox Sports Radio says Arnie. We're
not going to send you. There's some dude that lives
(01:54:19):
in Vegas that he wants to do it, so we're
gonna give him a shot. There's a weather man in
Vegas that wants to cover this.
Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
Yeah, but there's no weather man up here that's just
gonna be able to go ahead and do something like this.
This is a big event. And by the way, how
tough is it?
Speaker 1 (01:54:32):
All?
Speaker 2 (01:54:32):
Right?
Speaker 4 (01:54:33):
Uh, I'm watching now. The moon is quarter blocking the sun.
Now it's half blocking. They don't quarters blocking. You watch it,
it is now fully blocking. Everybody Back to you in
the studio.
Speaker 2 (01:54:49):
Roger the Engineer.
Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
Already the forty nine Ers lost because the Chiefs beat them,
so tired of all the excuses to the playoffs in
Super Bowl. Hell, the ref even told San Franz they
bet run their best play because they don't want to
give Mahomes the ball and Casey's the defense shut it down.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
Yeah, I'm sure did the refs really tell them that?
Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
I like, did you see the clip of a Kittle
like making a joke while the fumble's loose and it's
like behind them?
Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
Did you see that? No?
Speaker 3 (01:55:19):
No, I've kind of purposefully not watched any of the
micd up stuff yet because i still want to hate
San Francisco in Kansas City, and I'm sure if I
watch one of those, I'll start liking George Kittle again.
Give me one more week after the Super Bowl then
I'll do it. But I mean, come on, Roger, we
all agree Chiefs won the Super Bowl. Their Dynasty, but
(01:55:41):
they got a break. That ball doesn't hit that dude's leg.
They're not winning the super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:55:46):
By the way, somebody sent us the TV ratings of
the most watched shows super Bowls. Take up pointed then Mash,
you're right, Mash.
Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
Yeah, what are the Apollo?
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
I guess maybe there's is there some magical number somewhere.
Were like, oh, but wait a minute, Apollo, what oh
here it is here. It is most watched broadcast. This
is a according to Wikipedia, which is never wrong, and
they have the Apollo eleven moon landing as the most watched,
with an average million viewers of up to one hundred
and fifty.
Speaker 4 (01:56:16):
I think I remember my dad said, yeah, they land
and they're talking to Martians.
Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
It's crazy. And my mom totally believed that.
Speaker 3 (01:56:24):
The most watched television interview according to this was Michael
Jackson with Oprah Winfrey in nineteen nineteen ninety three.
Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:56:33):
Interesting anyway, numbers are out there, even if they're not real,
we can act like they are. Taylor made a difference.
Ratings were huge. We'll see if the Chiefs can do
it again when we come back. I don't know what
you're gonna pick me I can't wait to find out
it's next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:56:49):
Great job tonight, as always by de Saga.
Speaker 3 (01:56:52):
On the updates, Patrick was sitting in running the show
for US hook THISSELB with Todd Firm and Lorena.
Speaker 2 (01:56:58):
Lorena's running the show.
Speaker 3 (01:57:00):
But I apologize, you're also we've got the next up
and coming great producer slash technical director that Lorraine is training.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
And what's uh lorraina? Who are we training? What's her name?
I apologize, Marry Mary, come on, get with it. How'd
you know that?
Speaker 4 (01:57:19):
But who do you think hires everybody? Go ahead right here?
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
Yeah, I've been I've been doing the producing this entire time.
Speaker 3 (01:57:26):
Actually, I know that you've been crushing it. But Mary,
did you ever talk to Arnie about getting this job?
Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
Or did he hire you? What did he say? He
just said he did, Yeah he did. I actually did.
There you go?
Speaker 9 (01:57:43):
And I was I was really scared, and I was
just like, you know what, I if Arnie believes in me,
I have.
Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
To believe, there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:57:49):
I believe I believe, So there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:57:52):
And then he's gotten very.
Speaker 4 (01:57:53):
Busy, very busy hiring people and firing people, and I'm
surprised I'm surprised still here the best.
Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
You better not ever get rid of him. All right.
Speaker 3 (01:58:03):
We got a lot to get to, but we're out
of time, so that means to fill our final segment,
Arnie's going to find something to pick. Good luck, take
it away, stinking genius.
Speaker 2 (01:58:14):
All right.
Speaker 4 (01:58:15):
First of all, I appreciate that, Chris, the eclipse is
on April eighth, in case people didn't know what we
were talking about earlier. Very big thing there, Chris. I
just want to go ahead and reemphasize that. Hopefully I'll
get something at the Weather Channel. Fifty days, just fifty
days until my Arizona Wildcats get their revenge on the
entire world and win March Madness. When we lost to
(01:58:37):
that dog of a team in Princeton last year, never
will happen again.
Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
Dog of a team Princeton, Never ever, ever will that
happened again.
Speaker 4 (01:58:47):
As long as I'm alive, My Knicks are gonna make
a run in the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
Watch for this.
Speaker 4 (01:58:52):
Once they get healthy, they get Julius Randall back, they're
gonna go ahead and get on a little bit of
a run. They were up to like the number three seed,
and now they've gone back a little bit because of
all the injuries. So I'll expect the Nicks to make
a run. Watch up for my Lakers, too, Okay, watch
up for my Lakers. They already started to make a
run before the All Star break. I think they had
(01:59:12):
won six in a row. Look for them to go
deep into the playoffs also. And you want a prediction, Chris,
you want to break ahead? Yes, July fourth, twenty twenty four.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
Okay, do you know what that is? Fourth of July?
Speaker 4 (01:59:30):
That is the weekend that Taylor Swift gets engaged.
Speaker 2 (01:59:35):
And there you have my picks.
Speaker 4 (01:59:36):
Do with them as you please, no longer strictly for
entertainment purposes only.
Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
So there you go, Chris, What that was the worst
pick segment you've ever had? Why you know what?
Speaker 4 (01:59:46):
Taylor Swift getting engaged?
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
Why? I need a why? Why on July fourth?
Speaker 4 (01:59:53):
Well, I was gonna wait for a birthday in December,
but I don't think they're gonna wait that long. And
I think the best time would be around the summer.
And I think that's what he's going to propose, right
before they go into the season, and then they'll get
married after the season.
Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
Why do they need to get married? It seems like
they're having fun.
Speaker 3 (02:00:12):
Yeah, how do we know he didn't do irreparable damage
by his sweet rendition of friends in low places?
Speaker 4 (02:00:18):
That that could have been some damage, that could have
been damaging.
Speaker 2 (02:00:22):
But I think she's in the him. I really do.
Speaker 3 (02:00:25):
Taylor Swiss family being like, we want to talk to
you about Travis.
Speaker 2 (02:00:29):
We think we think he might be out of control.
Speaker 3 (02:00:33):
Oh my gosh, mister Nobakomes is the last word. I've
never been a fan of the All Star Game, even
before this current brand of the NBA.
Speaker 2 (02:00:41):
They never care nor play defense.
Speaker 3 (02:00:43):
Given how there's no defense to today's regular season games,
there's no way the All Star Game could be any better.
How about that for an I'm playing See next week
Big Minus Next on Fox
