Chris Plank and Arnie Spanier open the show giving their thoughts on Shedeur Sanders falling all the way to the fifth round of the NFL draft. Why did he fall so far? Could he earn the starting job going into the season? They also give their thoughts on Mel Kiper's outburst on the whole situation. Then, the guys get into the Jaguars' decision to trade up for Travis Hunter, discussing whether it was ultimately the right move for the new regime. Betting insider and friend of the show Todd Fuhrman joins to share some of his favorite bets heading into the week. Plus, going over some of the other big winners and losers coming out of the draft!

Later, Arnie and Plank move into some NBA Playoffs talk. With the Lakers down 3-1 to the Timberwolves, is it safe to say their season is over? Can anyone in the West match up with the Thunder? With the Warriors taking a 2-1 series lead over the Rockets, is it panic time for Houston? Plus, should Giannis want out of Milwaukee this offseason?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Let's go, stinking Jays, So big boy, let's go, let's go.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
You uh, you ready to apologize and that end today?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Not ready for anything. I gotta be honest with you.
I'll let the listeners know I am exhausted, exhausted today
because somebody was calling me up at two o'clock in
the morning for no reason whatsoever.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
Okay, I'm I'm I'm sucked in?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Now would this have anything to do with the fact
that I received a text from you? Yes, with the
show Rundown, which, by the way, I mean three basketball
games today that you know, demand our conversation and what
we have a pretty interesting storyline developing tonight in the
Damian Lillard injury. But right, okay, sure send the rundown
at five point thirty four in the morning, like what

(00:52):
are you doing well?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Because they woke me up. I was soothing bing Mary
our bird, the producer, the technically rectord. They called me
up at two o'clock in the Where's Mary? Why would you?
They called me up at two o'clock in the morning, which,
by the way is midnight Pacific time, right, And though
that that's eleven eleven o'clock eleven.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
I'm sorry. I'm thinking of a central time though now
so it's normal time.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I love this to go. Were you sleeping? What do
you think you gotta stay in the morning.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
You're the you You have no ground to stand on
here because you care none for their schedule, right you
constantly send Group ten at six am.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
The time the morning. Okay, well then why.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
The only reason I answered the phone is because I
thought there was an emergency and I had to fill
in for somebody. I'm like, we have fifty It was
like ten minutes before the top of the hour and
the phones ring, and I'm like, the only reason they're
calling me, it's gotta be an emergence. It's gotta be.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Right, Bernie went down. You gotta slide in. It's your
go time, Aren'tie.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Somebody was having trouble with equipment or something like that.
But no, no, no, they were. They were calling me
because I got fooled that that bred Farv or Brett
Fharv Aaron Rodgers retired and I guess I tweeted that
out and they were calling me up to let me
know that that was a fake report.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Well, they're looking out for you.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
You don't have to call me at two.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
In the morning, Arnie. You do this to everyone.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
No a lot of time two in the morning. Look,
you didn't fire both of them right now, we'd be working,
we'd be working alone.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Why am I getting dragged into this? I I'm Mary's
telling me about this secondhand right now.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Two in the morning. Who calls somebody into that? You
know what, Chris, why don't I call you at like
four or five in the morning, go hey, Chris, I
saw something you did Twitter?

Speaker 4 (02:44):
You did I you did this morning?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
I told something on your Twitter. I don't think it's okay.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
Wait wait wait.

Speaker 6 (02:50):
To be fair though, To be fair though, I think
we really should blame Torres because he's the one who
told me that you tweeted it.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Because I didn't see the tweet. Got that thing down
pretty quick.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
Yeah, and then and then I think Tours is actually
gonna call you a textan.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
I was like, let me do it.

Speaker 6 (03:08):
That's why I called him, and he answered like, oh, hello, what.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Do you think I was doing it?

Speaker 4 (03:14):
I was down.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
So then I was like you sleep and then NASA
He's like yeah. And then so that I was like,
you tweeted something wrong, like like unretweet this.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
And of course, and of course I didn't know how
to unre untweet it. So what did I do? What
do you think I did?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Probably ended up tweeting it, tweeting it like a thousand
more times.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
No, And I woke up my wife at two in
the morning.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
I liked, get up, Oh, Beth, I am, so you got.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
To untweet something for me. I don't care if you
got to get up at six o'clock in the morning.
That work for your Orange theory workout. I go up,
let's go gotta untweet this. They're gonna wake me. And
then of course I was already up, so I started
working on the show at about two thirty in the morning.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Is this the west Steinberg account that gets you all
the times.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
That I don't know what?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
I don't remember? Look, I I probably got up and
I just looked at my phone and I saw on
Twitter that he retired, and I said, I'll just retweet
this and it was a focus report.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
Yeah, okay, but look look the time that he tweeted,
like retweeted the tweet, and the time that I called
him was maybe like five ten minutes.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
No, like yeah, so it was like No, that's like
it was like.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
He literally just retweeted this, don't.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
He was literally in front of me. That's how this
whole thing happened.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
Was like he just tweeted it five minutes ago. So
we all thought that you would be up.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
You know what, my fault.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I'm going to make sure when I, uh, you know,
when I'm up. At like six in the morning, I
started calling you guys, ago were you?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Were you?

Speaker 3 (04:50):
I mean, that's what I'm laughing about it. You're getting
all mad about this, and this is what you do
to us a lot. That's all I'll say. I understand
the frustration. Like at two in the morning, you probably
wore out. I'm sure you did not fall back to
sleep up the whole day worrying about.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Your exactly, of course.

Speaker 4 (05:07):
But you are very guilty of this, Arnie Spaniard, very
guilty of this.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I just was the only reason I answered the phone
was I thought it was an emergency, and of course
they got a call me.

Speaker 6 (05:16):
He came out of everybody like why would I call
SI to be Scott?

Speaker 4 (05:19):
Who would call you if you had?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Like? No, no, you guys call me and I take
care of them.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
But you can't say you guys, because I'm going to calm.

Speaker 5 (05:28):
I will say, though, Arnie mad respect for if you
did think that's what they were doing. You did pick
up the phone.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
He answered it really quick. Well, he was ready to go.
Probably he had a he has a Roman Numerald.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Whole thing, Make no mistake about it. They would have
called me and said we need you to go in there,
and I said, I'll call Plank and he'll be ready
in ten minute.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
I would have been video games. I took the week
at all.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Yeah, what it was that about? What was that all about?

Speaker 4 (05:57):
My birthday? I did what I Yeah, happy birthday week,
you guys.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I did what every single like Millennial and what other
generations we got here, Jen Allen and all them. They
all take their birthdays off. So now, actually I had
planned on doing something. We were gonna have a We're
gonna have a party, and it all kind of got canceled.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Nobody cared, right, I mean, he turned fifty. It's like
go to work, old man.

Speaker 6 (06:22):
No, that's a big age, ma, it is.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
It is. Thank you.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
So I missed my Friday show and I didn't get
to do my Saturday college show. So I got all
my sports takes saved up from the weekend and it
was on the weekend of the draft.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
So are you good?

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Now?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Have you got your frustrations out? Can we get to
the stories?

Speaker 2 (06:38):
All right, I'm a little tired, but I'm sure i'll
fall asleep right after the show.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
And yeah, I'm ready to go. Let's do.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
I was thinking about you when I was watching the
draft and you got your running back for a moment there,
I was kind of if you were even going to
get him. But anyway, let's get all kinds of stuff
to talk about it.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Well, okay, here, here's the thing. I've got like five
different versions of your Roman numeral rundown that you sent. Yeah,
the one at five twenty am. The first the first
six things, thank you, thank you. The first six points
on it were all about the NFL Draft Oni, all
of them, every.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Single one of them.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
And then you got into some NFL and some NBA
and a little bit about your Dolphins, who apparently now
you've been a fan of Kenneth Grant the whole time, right,
but do you just do you want to get the
shoot or talk out of the way here and and
Phillip last the draft?

Speaker 4 (07:30):
All right, so big Jerid let's get round five.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah, Pike one forty four, the second quarterback taken by
the Browns.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Dylan Gabriel went earlier. What'd you make of it?

Speaker 7 (07:39):
All?

Speaker 4 (07:39):
Right?

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Wouldn't We had done the show on the Sunday before,
and we were thinking that he was going to slide.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
I figured it was going to be the twenty one.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
And then as I was watching the draft, I figured
he was going to go no later than the first
pick of the second round to Cleveland, because I'm like,
they gotta take him with the first pick. That's quite
of value. And then as he didn't get picked in
the second round, I started thinking to myself, there's a
chance that he's gonna go far, I mean, slide far.
Obviously something's going on. And as I'm watching the draft

(08:13):
and I'm paying attention to it, there goes the third,
there goes the fourth. I wasn't sure that he was
gonna be drafted in the fifth or sixth. I thought
maybe somebody would take him in the last round. Overall, though,
you know, I hear people scream that this was racism
or collusion or anything like that. I don't think it

(08:36):
was that. I think a lot of people had him overrated.
I think a lot of other factors came into it.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Also.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Did you see all those stories that came out about
his interview process. And I'm not just talking about one team, Chris,
I'm talking about like three or four or five teams
that said he just did a horrible job with the
whole interview process. So yeah, I was surprise. I felt
bad for the kid. I'm sorry that he, you know,

(09:04):
dropped on down. Obviously he's got a lot to prove
now he's gonna have a chip on his shoulder. But
maybe we all kind of had him. It's had been overrated,
and that's where he should have gone to begin with.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
What do you think he should have gone in the
fifth round? To begin with?

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Well, maybe like third or fourth, you know what I mean.
Maybe we had a miss too, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
This is the all time greatest miss in the history
of mock drafts or whatever you want to call them.
I mean, there's never been a bigger slide. And I
felt this was honestly the feel that I thought I
had from Gosh. I I consumed way too much content.
I really didn't draft wise for as good of a
feel as I thought I had on things like where
my Sooner guys were gonna go and kind of how

(09:48):
the quarterbacks might fall.

Speaker 4 (09:50):
I mean I was blown away.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
Now, some things like Tyler Shutt going where he was
wasn't a surprise because we had heard the buzz. Because
NFL people can sometimes be stupid. They apparently didn't watch
Tyler Schucket Louisville, Texas Tech or Oregon. But okay, and
I mean sometimes they can try to over evaluate things.
But the Shadoor Sanders stuff, guys, it wasn't some sort
of race issue. It wasn't some sort of ability to

(10:15):
play issue. I think he can play. Arnie. You can't
be in a meeting with a head coach and stay
on a FaceTime call. Yes, completely disrespect the whole process,
right right, I mean, I get it. You're Dion's kid
and you've you've earned everything you got in Ky Well.
We can find about the number retiring, but you earn
I mean, he was great at Colorado, he really truly was.

(10:37):
But stats aren't the reason you get drafted. When lost
records aren't the reasons you get drafted. And when you
go in two places that are quarterback and needy and
you decide that you're going to be kind of an
ahole about it. They're going to take you off the
board right away, man, I mean, especially when you're kind
of that fringe second or third guy whenever it comes
to the quarterback position in quarterback draft that I like,

(10:59):
But apparently apparently the NFL gurus already they didn't like
it too terribly much so. And the story I'm bringing
up is I think Rick new Heizel told it that
several coaches had told them that Shador Sanders came in
for his interview and he took a FaceTime call during
the interview and instead of hanging up the FaceTime call,
just just kind of held the phone there while he

(11:20):
was talking to the coach. Apparently he bombed his interview
with Brian Dable, which again you can fight on that, which.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Gab called about on that right, and he didn't like it.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, He's like, do you care that
kind of mind? According to the reports out there, I
think Todd McShay was the one who had that first.
And I was listening to our pregame show today with
Jeff Schwartz and Brian No and Crack, and Schwartz told
an incredible story that actually he told me before about

(11:50):
back twelve media days and how Shador was just like
the worst, and again No brought up a great Every
time something like this happens, everyone has a autograph experience story.

Speaker 4 (12:01):
I used the Spencer Rattler saga.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Whenever Spencer Rattler was batting for battling for the starting
job with Caleb Williams in Oklahoma, Arnie, everyone had a
story about how terrible Caleb will or excuse me, uh uh,
Spencer Rattler was. Thank you, Oh Spencer Rattler. They spit
on my baby. You know, everyone had some terrible story
about him, and I feel like some of this is
piling on.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
But things are lining up.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
There's a lot of stories that seemed to kind of
fit this same mold and this same kind of disrespect
to where hey, he'd kind of felt like he was
choosing where he was going, and we quickly found out, Arnie,
that was not the case for Heat or his dad.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Do you think Dion had a major factor in this
about people didn't want to deal with Dion, or that
he was going to be too involved, or you were
afraid that you were going to lose your job as
he was going to be the next head coach, was
any of that effect are you thinking this?

Speaker 4 (12:53):
I don't know that.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
That's a really really good question, and I don't want
to speculate, but I and I know it's our job.
So with that precursor, I would say it had to
be right. I don't know about the concern overtaking your job, right, right,
but just how involved he's going to be based on
his own words?

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Did you see that that story that just came out
tonight about what Dian said? Was that real or is
that fake?

Speaker 4 (13:20):
I mean, I haven't we going to have to wake
you up again? Arnie? Yeah, I haven't.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Is that he make the night fought for it again?

Speaker 4 (13:26):
No?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
No, no, no, I I don't know, but there was
there was a tweet that was sent out by they gave.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Credit to like an official account.

Speaker 3 (13:36):
But this is kind of like the the Dan Lanning
turned in Oregon to where our Dan landing from Oregon
turned things in. But this was allegedly from something called
at ames for twenty right, and.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
It said, uh so I don't I don't know it' said, well,
there's a lot of.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
People commenting on it. That's why I got my own. Well,
then it must be real and it's got to be true, right.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
I have a few theories about why this happened, but
I'm not going to give y'all a headline. I'll address
the current situation and correct it as needed. I promise
it will be handled accordingly. Should or doesn't take no
backseat to any quarterback. So again, like I said, I
don't know if that's a real quote or not, But

(14:21):
if it is, doesn't that just kind of add to it?

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Doesn't that kind of add to the reasons why you
might not want to have to deal with this circus?

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I now that you'redded to me, I'm like, how could
that be true? And that he wants to go to
the first meeting with Cleveland. When Shaudur goes that that
can't be possible, that that can't be that can't be
the way he's thinking or talking there after a sundrop
to the fifth round, I think I'd be a little
bit more humble after that, you.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Would think you would think. But it's again, that isn't
always the.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
Case, right, right, So I guess bottom line, more than
anything else, the question will be what roman numeral to
ask Sarnie? Why the drop? Now, there's some that really
dig into the numbers. We've already been tagged on those tweets,
and they aren't the best whenever you think about how
he well, they're impressive when you look at them just
at the surface, but when you dig in a little

(15:14):
bit and you see some of the Yolo throws, right,
you only live once. I'm throwing it up there, Travis
Hunter down there somewhere. But as I'm watching this, I.

Speaker 8 (15:22):
Mean, I, Honie, I still saw a guy that can
make some of those throws in the NFL, you know,
And I guess you start getting to that third round
and you realize probably don't have a starting quarterback here,
so I'm gonna have to bring them in as a backup,
and you probably don't want the show that's gonna be
around that guy as a backup unless you get him
probably right around where Cleveland got him, right.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
I'm surprised Cleveland took two quarterbacks. I thought maybe they
were gonna take Chadur later on, but when they took Gabriel,
I'm like, oh, what's going on here now? I thought
that was a mistake. They didn't need both quarterbacks obviously,
going with five in there, I don't know how it's
all going to work out, But I mean, I don't
see how they can. I'd probably have to get rid

(16:05):
of Flacco and I'd have to put this, Well.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
You just brought in flatter.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Well, then is not gonna make the team then, I
guess is what you're telling me, right?

Speaker 4 (16:14):
I mean, are you guaranteed making the team as a
fifth round pick?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
No, not at all. But I you know, with a
name like that, he could have been the number one
pick overall and he dropped to the fifth round. Gosh,
can you imagine his first preseason game? What the rating
is gonna be like that? I mean, I'm all in,
I can't. I'm looking to see what's that first preseason game.
I want to see what he's gonna do. I want

(16:38):
to see what he's got, and gosh, I wonder where
he's gonna end up when it's all said and done.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Well, the quarterback room right now in Cleveland has Joe Flacco,
Deshaun Watson, Shador Sanders, Dylan Gabriel, and Kinney Pickett. And
what's wild about that room is you have three first
round pick our two first round picks in that room
and Deshaun Watson in Kinny Pickett.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
I mean, it's just I don't know, you put Watson
on like hilarious.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
It can Watson be on like some special you know,
not eligible to play yet because he's still heard type list.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Or what you mean, like a commissioner's exemplist.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
He won't be on that, but he might be on
injured reserve still right right, so he might not factor
and so you can probably cross him off then. And
I don't know, I mean, you would didn't have probably
what three guys fighting for two spots in camp, because
I mean sounds to me like Flaco is going to
be their starter. So then you'd have Shador, Dylan Gabriel

(17:36):
and Kenny Pickett fighting for another roster spot, two of them,
because you're going to keep three quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Right right right, depending on how he might not make
it well, him and Gabriel have to battle it out
for the third string spot. If Watson's put on that
injured list, I'm thinking, if right, if I don't know
how long, you know, how well he's coming along and
and stuff like that, but otherwise he's not going to
get the jens at all.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Then when we come back to the tyr to the
studios here at Fox Sports Radio let's dive into not
only the Cleveland quarterback saga, which we've kind of dipped
our toe in, but Arnie overall draft thoughts, because I
felt like this was a year where we ended up
talking more about the way the draft was covered, and
then Genior Sanders right at melt Kiper and some of

(18:24):
his insanity. But let's get into it next. It's already
in plank on Fox Sports Radio. All right, it's already
in plank on Fox Sports Radio. Hey, we had great
draft coverage this past week. On Thursday night, Jay Glazer
and the crew were I'm me just crushing it and
was brought to you by ship Station.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
We continue our draft.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Coverage here tonight, brought to you by ship station calling
the Chaos with a shipping software that delivers use code
Sports for a free trial at shipstation dot com. That's
shipstation dot com code Sports. I ended up watching and
listening to a lot of the guys here on Fox
Worts Radio because my Mammel Kuiper, whom I've watched since
I was a kid, was insufferable.

Speaker 4 (19:05):
Man. There's he was, he was it was.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
I want to make this clear, I don't there's no
conspiracy theory here. There's nothing deep pissed off some people
in meetings that became very clear, and it wasn't good
enough to deal with it. The numbers weren't good enough
to deal with it. And I don't know if we've
and I guess maybe the skill set dude can play.
But Arnie, it's you're taking on a lot with what

(19:28):
seems to be the circus around him. The story about
his pro day was wild, and he would think Dion's
been around for a long time. Arnie, I don't.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
I don't know why he would kind of set him
up to fail like that with coaches, right.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
No, I agree with no sense. No, it doesn't. There
a mel kiper though, And yeah, you brought him up,
My goodness, man, it was insufferable. And if you read Twitter,
people were just going ballistic. They were going crazy on him.
They they added, he just wouldn't stop. And people were

(20:03):
saying you took away the you know, the glory from
cam Ward and he should have been celebrated a little
bit more. And well, okay, can I push back on
that because he wasn't gonna be the number one?

Speaker 4 (20:13):
But go ahead, yes, sure, Okay, I'm sorry. I mean
interrupt you.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
But I was gonna say, I mean, Adam Schefter in
the Browns trade kind of took away from cam Ward's moment.
I mean, let's be honest, because literally is cam Ward's
having that moment where he's fixing the bill of the
cap and he's walking up boom, they're shefty, and he's
breaking down the trade of the Jaguars moving up to
number two, and so instead of talking and in fairness,
we have been talking about cam Ward being number one

(20:38):
for the better part of three weeks now, but I
agree overall, his whining truly took away from every quarterback
that got drafted. I mean just about every single player
that got drafted. After the twenty first pick in the
NFL Draft.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
You're just waiting for them to call Shadu Sander's name.
But as for mel I'm not sure why he went
off is I mean, yeah, I understand why because he
was shocked like that. But here's a guy who's made predictions.
I mean, his predictions are worse than mine. Chris for
crying out loud. Remember he was gonna quit if Jimmy
Clauson went in the Star right now what he said,

(21:14):
and as well as a whole bunch of other stuff.
I wish they'd play that a few times back. So
it isn't like this guy's got a great track record for,
you know, figuring out the draft. And he said, what
if you get like six, seven, eight right, you've crushed
the draft. He'd imagined if I got out of thirty
six picks, I only got six right. And I said,

(21:35):
I'm just crunching it right now, Chris, I'm just killing it.
You kill me if I said something like that. So
he was getting ripped people like it's tied for him
to retire right time him to go away.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
I look, I know he went way too deep on
the whole Shador Sanders thing. You're on TV, you've have
other responsibilities. I don't think you got to those responsibilities.
I think he got this whole Sanders thing take over
the whole broadcast, and he did a bad job getting
back on track.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Listen all along, all along, Arnie, I thought some of
the oh shdoor Sanders's gonna slide. I didn't buy it.
I thought he was still in play in the top five.
Really truly did up until the moment that the Giants.

Speaker 4 (22:20):
Drafted who they take third overall abdual Carter. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
That m was like, oh, okay, well, I guess he's
gonna slide here a little bit. Because Saints had made
it pretty clear that they were more in the Jackson
Dart Game. Raiders weren't gonna take a quarterback until super late.
And then when the Steelers passed on him at twenty one,
that became the moment where you thought this is gonna
last for a while, right, at least in the first round.
And then when he didn't go in the second round,

(22:44):
then you reach that point of is this dude gonna
go at all?

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Right? Is he gonna get drafted at all? Wasn't that bad?

Speaker 3 (22:51):
And then suddenly it starts this battle between his numbers
are fine, there's some sort of collusion here, But I mean, listen,
do you think thirty two NFL teams are gonna get together?
I think a quarterback can help him win? No, and
work with the Chiefs. He is like, you, listen, don't
draft him because we're mad at Coach Bright.

Speaker 7 (23:07):
No.

Speaker 4 (23:07):
I mean it's like two or three teams I decided
to take. People understand that collusions illegal.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
I don't think people really quite understand that that that's
against the law. Could you if thirty two NFL teams
colluded not to take Shador Sanders for whatever reason and
we found out, do you have any idea what a
lawsuit would do to the to the NFL? I mean it,
I wouldn't maybe cripple them, but my goodness, I can

(23:34):
only imagine how much money Sanders would get if you're
colluded against them something like that.

Speaker 4 (23:39):
That's but that wasn't the case here, No, I don't
think so.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
No, thirty two owners didn't get on a zoom like
the Brady Bunch and said, hey, hey, hey, look up here,
we're not going to draft sir door Sanders. I'm sure
some people you know, were turned off by the interview,
like you said, but it wasn't a NFL you know
whole thing. That's this is what we're going to do
to the guy.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
If we have time tonight.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Jeff Schwartz story I pulled from this morning show, uh,
and I want to play it for you, but we
got time for that. Your guys, takes are great and
your tweets are coming up next. But first, there he
is Steve de Sager has been monitoring all the NFL
and NBA news and we got games. Steve in a
developing situation with one of Milwaukee stars.

Speaker 4 (24:21):
Oh yeah, called in the middle of the night.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
How about that?

Speaker 9 (24:24):
Yeah, that's not likely to matter. I don't have his
number me and vice versa. I've never asked for yours,
not a shoe.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Uh yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
Indiana's up fifteen at Milwaukee and Lillard limped off. Can
I just mention while you're talking NFL? Two things I
did see the headline Pro Football Talk tonight that at
Florida defensive tackle would have been the largest draft pick
in NFL history, listed at six six four sixty four. Wow,
not drafted, but has signed with the Bucks. So as

(24:57):
an undrafted free agent, maybe we'll see him around camp.
The other thing is, did we not call it many
weeks ago that the Colts are going to see a
certain tight end from Penn State as the next Dallas Clark.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Yes, and Warren's going.

Speaker 9 (25:13):
There sure enough.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (25:15):
So the NBA playoffs there through three quarters. Now it's
the Pacers trying to go up three games to one
in this first round series, leading at Milwaukee one oh
one eighty four twenty one points for Miles Turner in
this game veteran guard Damian Lillard, who just came back
from injury after all that time off with the blood
cloud and the leg, limped off with an apparent achilles
injury tonight. This was in the first quarter of the game.

(25:37):
It very very much looks like a torn Achilles tendon.
That's not what they said, but I mean, we have eyes.
Boston's up three games to one after winning at Orlando
this evening one oh seven ninety eight Jason Tatum thirty
seven points, fourteen rebounds. New York's Jalen Brunson with thirty
two points eleven assists in a one point win at

(25:59):
Detroit ninety four ninety three. Nicks up three games to one,
and yes, the refs afterwards admitted a foul should have
been called on the Detroit three point contempt.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
What do you mean not really? No good no call.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
I think it was a good.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Note, says mister New York.

Speaker 9 (26:16):
Minnesota was down seven to the Lakers with five minutes left,
still beat l A one, sixteen to one, thirteen Anthony
Edwards forty three points, Timberwolves up three games to one.
NHL playoff wins for Carolina, Saint Louis and Washington, La
Kings through two periods lead three to one. At Edmonton,
Austin Sindrick won the NASCAR race at Talladega. Ryan Priest

(26:38):
was a close second, and I mean close. He lost
by less than half a car length point.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Tell me, I've dvr'd that, Steve.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
What did you do?

Speaker 9 (26:49):
Zero two two seconds is what he lost by.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I wish you would have let me ruin it for him,
But go ahead.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
The next four Sunday races will be on FS one.

Speaker 4 (26:59):
What can you?

Speaker 9 (26:59):
Nima took the live golf event in Mexico. Carolina Panthers
signed veteran wide receiver Hunter Renfro from Clemson. Tonight's Sunday
night ballgame went to Philadelphia over the Cubs at Wrigley
and ten innings, three to one. Yankee swept a double
header from Toronto. In the nightcap, Aaron Judge hit his
eighth homer. He's betting four oh six. Washington with two
runs bottom of the ninth beat the Mets eight seven.

(27:21):
The winning run came on an air, so the Mets
record now nineteen and nine. Giants win nineteen and ten.
The San Francisco record three two the final over Texas
thanks to an unearned run bottom of the ninth. Tampa
Bay won it's fifth straight one at San Diego four
two Dodgers nine to two over Pittsburgh. But Dodgers starting
pitcher Tyler Glass now left with a sore shoulder and

(27:42):
pitcher Blakesnell is already injured. And can I just add
that we all recall that New Orleans Super Bowl about
a decade ago where the power outage and over a
half hour delay during a Super Bowl game. The PGA
Tour was in New Orleans. Today, guess what power outage?

Speaker 4 (28:02):
Oh my gosh, here you go.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
Golf Channel goes off the air, plays eight minutes of commercials,
and then when they come back, they show a seniors
Tour event. This is about two thirty pm Eastern time today.
They'll be so supposed to be showing the golf from Louisiana,
and then top of the hour, CBS is supposed to
take over the coverage. In a half an hour, it
still hasn't been resolved. CBS starts showing last year's tournament. Fortunately,

(28:29):
forty five minutes later, there's a weather delay in today's tournament,
so fortunately they have no golf to show for a
little bit Finally play resumes at five point fifteen Eastern
and things are settled by then. It's not over, you see,
because tonight with the hockey playoffs Washington at Montreal, TBS
completely lost their feed for a half an hour. They

(28:52):
had to go to the Canadian Television Live to show
the game. And this is one of the actual playoff
games where TVs had announcers in the arena. They've been
calling remote playoff games. Lucky still didn't help them tonight,
but Fox. There were no problems for NASCAR on Fox,
which went we heard just about everything. Joey Logano had
to scream in the NASCAR base at Talladega, thank you

(29:16):
with one bleep after another.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Updating.

Speaker 9 (29:19):
It's a fourth quarter underway. Indiana is leading at Milwaukee
one oh six eighty eight.

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Back to you. Yeah, that did not look good for
Damian Lillard. Did not look good at all.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Have they officially said anything yet, No sagre outside just out, okay,
just out, just that he will not return. That series
will be three games to one in favor of the
Pacers with the series shifting to Indiana, so it yeah,
might be over for the Bucks. This is that moment
where you start telling me that Jannis is going to No, no.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
I don't want him, don't want him, don't want him,
don't need them.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
We're okay, we'll be gone.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
You go up three games to one, where you've won
two games based on some really fortunate calls.

Speaker 4 (30:02):
I'm still you're upset.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
I'm still a little nervous if we are up three
games to what I'm I'm afraid that they're gonna say, oh,
there's going to be a protest, and we're gonna shoot
the file shots before game five and we'll figure out.
You know, if they've done that before. They've there's been
two or three times that protests have been upheld. They
have the replay the end of the game.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
Yeah, I'll tell you this much. That ain't happening. But
I wouldn't be hilarious if it did. Oh my goodness,
I will say to have an official come out and say,
like David Guthrie did, yeah, we missed that call, we
missed a call. And then to have a view from space. Yeah,
that somehow magically catches Lebron nicking the hand of Anthony

(30:48):
Edwards before he falls over himself and kicks it out
of bounds. I mean, what are we even doing anymore
with replays? Oh, look at the hawk camera. We got
this view from the blamp of Lebron's hand, just Y
grazing Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
Turnover two things.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
One on the foul that wasn't called at the end
of the next game. The only reason I said, good,
no call.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Because it was on the knicks. No, well, yes, that's
first thing.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
But the second is because he tried to draw the foul.
And if you watch it again, he does try to
kick out his right leg and I think he may
have even made contact because of it, and he was
he you're right, he was hit. But because he made
contact with his right leg, the official first thing said, no,
you're not doing that. We're not kicking out your leg.

(31:35):
And I think that's one of the reasons why they
just didn't forget about it. Work, We're not gonna call it.
So that's why I thought it was a pretty good
no call to begin with. The one of Lebron was ridiculous.
I thought maybe I thought maybe they were gonna look
at it and they were gonna decide and went off
himber or what off the other guy. I had the
broadcasters no idea that there was gonna be some type

(31:57):
of foul called when they looked back at this again
and that they should have just called it out of
bounds one way or the other. How could you get
a foul on that. I didn't even see an angle.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
No, no, no, they they got a live hawkeye camera
from space. By the way, it's pretty rich. I'm just
gonna say to hear a Knicks fan talk about no,
you know, a guy jumping into contact when that's all
that Jalen Brunson does.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
Right exactly, I understand that. But that's if you look
at it again, Chris. That's why they didn't call it,
because I felt that he kicked his leg out a
little bit, and the officials are trading out to say, no,
you can't get away with that. Yeah, you know what,
perhaps it should have been a foul, but I'm glad
they didn't call anything. If if the Knicks would have
lost on three foul shots like that, I would have

(32:43):
been sitting here. I wouldn't have worked tonight. I would
have called it in sick, would forget about it. When
we come back, we'll dive into your tweets. Have been
really good show so far, but I want to remind.

Speaker 3 (32:53):

(33:17):
All right, you want to hit these tweets to the show.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
Arnie, You're ready.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
You have a record. We have so many tweets, it's incredible.
And even take people taking a couple of shots in
me too unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Well, let's start with Josh. You're right, so win is
a win.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
But Arnie, your knicks are really quot close to being
swept in the first round. Do the Clippers have the
worst loss in the playoffs in the last twenty years?

Speaker 4 (33:39):
I don't know. Man.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
That Game one lost by the Memphis Grizzlies to the
Thunder was pretty bad. Yeah, I mean the Clippers have
had every opportunity to be in good shape here too.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Did you like that last second slam dunk?

Speaker 4 (33:51):
How about that? Was that was wild?

Speaker 2 (33:53):
And I had seemed like it was still on the ball.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
I was wondering because it through the.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Rim, that's why they counted it. I don't know if
that should have counted.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
To be honest with you, let's uh.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
I thought this was a pretty good a pretty good
text that just came in. By the way, if you
want to get and be a part of the show
at Fox Sports Radio is obviously where you need to be.

Speaker 4 (34:17):
It need to be.

Speaker 3 (34:18):
But at stinking Genius one and I'm at Plank Show
our man ahead News Rights. Since when did the NFL
get so soft and weak? I thought practical jokes on Shador?
I thought the practical joke on Shador was hilarious. Since
when is it a bad thing to tease a guy
who phones it in?

Speaker 4 (34:33):
Literally? Well, here's what I don't get.

Speaker 3 (34:35):
Yeah, it's not the only guy it happened to, No,
it isn't. It happened at Cooper Degen last year. It
happened to Tyler Warren. There's a video of a guy
that got pranked that somehow got Isaiah Bond's number and
told the news getting drafted.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
Running back like four or five years ago.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
I forget who it was.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
Yeah, but I'm just I don't know. I guess because
this ended up being a coach's kid. Yeah, maybe that's
why I guess I was the son of a coach.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
I don't find it funny only for the reason that One,
I feel bad for Shador because in this situation things
were a little tense, you know what I mean, So
I can see how that, you know, it certainly would
rub him the wrong way. And two, I hate this
whole generation of the whole you know, looking down the
video tape, videotape in Yeah, I'm gonna you know, I'm

(35:24):
making a fool of myself and I'm gonna go to
walmartin dance in the aisles, and you know that type
of crap. I'm so fed up with it. That's why
I'm like, come on, man, enough is enough with this.
I felt bad for Shadur, I think it. I'm fed
up with that prank. It does happen, and happened twice here.
But I did feel bad for Chadur because he had

(35:45):
to go through that.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Jason B.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Diamond, I need to say one thing in all caps.
It was not collusion or racism. He was a loud
mouth who won fIF his college games. This sends my
ted talk good evening, Michael writes it, it's too pronged
and not that complicated, not collusion. If thirty two teams
agree Sharoor Sanders isn't worth the baggage slash red flags

(36:09):
and if he were good enough, the teams would have
dealt with some baggage and red flags and picked him higher.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
Oh well, that's apps one hundred percent. Man.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
Look at It's interesting because you go back and there
have been guys who started very early, if not day one,
of their careers that completely fell out of the draft
because of some red flags.

Speaker 4 (36:28):
Lyle Collins comes to my mind.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
Remember on draft night, a projected first round tackle out
of LSU and there was a terrible story about I
don't know if it was an actual murder or a
tempted murder of his ex girlfriend and he was a
person of interest and then his stock just plummeted. I
didn't get drafted that night. And then you have a
few years before that was the magic smoke mask that

(36:53):
Laramie tonsil ad G's mask.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
Bong is what that was? Oh thank you, I was
I knew you'd know.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Now I didn't know. I was told that I would know.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
He fell like what maybe eleven spots because number one
it was weed, and number two we think much different
about that now.

Speaker 4 (37:08):
And then of course number three, he's really good. Right now, you.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
May you may take him a few spots higher, right exactly,
He's like boy Warren Sap.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Warren Sapp's a great example, right of a guy who
on draft night there was a few things that had
popped up and he still ended up going I think
in the top ten. Dan Marino, Dan Marino, the Rivers,
the failed drug test, and he ends up going really late.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
And Randy Moss, I thought dropped a little bit too
or it could be wrong on that.

Speaker 3 (37:36):
Well, no, no, Randy Moss did because all of a sudden,
the issues from why he ended up at two different colleges,
three different colleges started to rear their head, and he
ended up in Minnesota.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Couldn't have ended up in a better place.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
So point being is we had it, we're off the
field issues have affected guy stocks in the past. This
just feels completely different because none of those guys were
in the conversation to be the.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
Top pick in the draft at any point.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
Guys, and even this year, Mike Greenfeld to like the
end of the second round.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
Bro exactly.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
Everyone had him as a first round pick, the edge
rusher out of Marshall. Everyone had him as a first
round pick. Will Oh gosh, why am I blaking on
the lsu Will Johnson? Thank you, Will Johnson.

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Nothing.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
Now, his issues apparently were injury related, but this was
a weird year where certain things just teams decided they
weren't taking that risk. And it's hard not to think that. Ay,
maybe the production and the love of the game wasn't there.
And be I'm telling you what, Warren just hit it
on the head too. You guys are on fire tonight here, right.
Isn't it refreshing to the working public that interviews still matter?

Speaker 4 (38:40):
Oh? Amen to that. Amen. Preach buddy, Yeah, preach. And
that does matter.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
I mean it matters big time in the NFL. If
people go, oh, that should matter. And you know, you
can't be disrespectful for somebody, to somebody that you interviewing.

Speaker 4 (38:54):
For a job.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
You just can't do that. It doesn't work that way.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Yeah, And it just seems as if I'm not saying
he doesn't love football.

Speaker 4 (39:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (39:03):
I'm not around Shador, but it seems like there's always
got to be a show, and there's always got to
be something more than just playing football.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
And that's kind of been what it's like in Colorado.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
We're already got a time. Did Travis Hunter fly to
Jacksonville right after the draft? Is that what happened there, Chris?

Speaker 3 (39:20):
That's usually what happens with the first round, number one
or any first round pick yet.

Speaker 2 (39:23):
But did I see the story about Shador who's partying
with some rapper in Dallas somewhere or something like that.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Maybe he's got some time. Maybe it's different for fifth
round picks. You take your time. Hey, you show up,
you show, you got plenty of time to get here.

Speaker 4 (39:37):
It's a great it's a great point. All right.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
We've got more of your tweets coming up next, plus

He's this thinking genius Arnie Spaniard. I'm Chris Plank. This

Speaker 2 (40:32):
I just ow some chocolate for your birthday just now.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
Oh, thank you. But I thought, you know, I thought
you weren't doing sweets or anything anymore.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Well, you know the Ferrero Rocher chocolate diggy.

Speaker 4 (40:43):
Sure you know? Do you know what that is? No?
I have no idea. You don't know. I was trying
to save everyone from it, but go ahead.

Speaker 2 (40:51):
No, it's it's like the little chocolate shabai. Yeah, you
know what it is. I'm probably not pronouncing it right.

Speaker 4 (40:58):
Yeah, yeah, okay, I googled that. I know what you're
talking about.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Okay, see, I'm probably not pronouncing it right. I just
shoved a couple of those in my mouths and choking
choking on it.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Dude, do you need me to filibuster here for a
bit while you you consume your sweets?

Speaker 4 (41:12):
Yeah, no, I'm done. I'd put it to someone. I'm good.
I'm good to I'm ready to roll.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
I got we got a lot of good stuff here.
But I did want to read what mister Nobody just
sent in because I think it's a fair question because
I'm doing the same thing he is.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
I've got hockey on right now, and I have hockey too.

Speaker 4 (41:30):
He's got a.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
Great question, he says, a question I'd love to hear
answered on the air. Is not mentioning the NHL playoffs
on the air because neither you nor Arnie are hockey
fans because you feel no one cares, or because your
boss said people don't care. I'm a huge hockey fan,
taking in the Kings and the Oilers as we speak.

Speaker 4 (41:49):
I am.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
No, I'm a hockey fan too. Of course, my son
plays hockey. I watched the playoffs with him. My wife
was watching the NHL playoffs earlier. So no, we're a
hockey family. But let's be honest. More people care about
the NFL Draft and the NBA playoffs. Hockey is not
even a distant third. It's not existent. People just don't

(42:12):
care about the NHL.

Speaker 5 (42:14):
No.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
I mean, they enjoy the playoffs, but they just don't
care about talking about baseball or the NHL.

Speaker 4 (42:20):
To be honest with you, that's fine. I was gonna
throw Scott into the bus.

Speaker 3 (42:23):
I was gonna say, last man, Scott Shapiro said we
couldn't talk about it.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
That's why, No, I've I've.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Found this is just my opinion, in wanting to get
reaction and wanting to get interaction and wanting to talk
about the things that you guys care about, is we'll
find niche things to lose their mind about in hockey.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
Right. It's uh, the.

Speaker 3 (42:42):
Four I keep want to call it the four corners,
the four countries thing that we had.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Everyone loved it.

Speaker 3 (42:48):
It was a US versus four nations.

Speaker 4 (42:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (42:52):
I knew there was a four in there eating and
that's not bad, right, the four elements, the four elements.
But I've if you're in a hockey market and you've
got this on right now, you're like, what are you
crazy people talking about? It's insane here right, kind of
like whenever you know there's people that aren't in an
NBA market, and they probably think, why do you waste

(43:12):
so much time on Fox Sports Radio talking NBA. I've
just found that the least amount of reaction we get
is usually on the playoffs. Just to be honest with you,
on the NHL. Excuse me, that's just it. Football's king
men and the story of shador Sanders this weekend and
those officials cheating for the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
That's going to dominate everything from here tofore.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
Hey, a final thought for us on it here real
quick because I say that, and I'm sure that there'll
be a tweet or two that'll send us back down
that hill, and I know Todd's going to have a
take on it. But overall draft thoughts. Too much time
spent on shador Or because of the way that the
ratings looked, and now everyone seemed to kind of be

(43:54):
just enamored with where he might or might not end up.
Was it playing the hit as the kids like to see?

Speaker 2 (44:01):
It's playing the hits? Too much time on chuduur for
the people that were watching, But for the network that
had it on ESPN, they loved it because the drafting
was what forty percent higher ratings wise? Yeah, and obviously
a lot had to do with Shaduur Sanders, So, uh,
they're playing the hits. The hits was Shadur Sanders, who
you know, you thought was gonna be your first round pick,
could have been number one pick. Then he just dragged

(44:23):
on and on and on, and that just made the
ratings go up and up and up, as people wanted
to say, where is he gonna go? Let's keep watching
until he gets picked, and that's what people did. So,
like I said, it was was too much for the viewer,
but I think some of them just wanted to tune in,
get that forty extra.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
You know, yeah, and you know it's kind of wild.
Mark brings up a great point. I did this the
other night. Mark sent us a list from NFL dot
com of the where they ranked the quarterback draft classes
since two thousand oh. It shows every single quarterback drafted,
and most of them you've probably never heard, are barely

(45:01):
played at all. So if he can play, and if
this was a matter of just some really awful optics
going into meetings and workouts and not working out and
things of that nature, then already he'll have a chance.
If you can play, when you get to your city,
when you get to your team. As long as you're
not on a FaceTime phone call when you're supposed to

(45:24):
be an install, I think you've got a chance.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
And so what does that say about Dion not having
the son prepared for something like that? You know, and
Dion should be shocked over that and saying, you know,
you have to be more professional or did he got
his son? I don't have no idea.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
You know, that was probably just, you know, in the
many things that surprised me is is hearing a story
and it's something that kids do. It was not shocking
to me at all. I've had several meetings whenever I'm
not necessarily offering someone a job, but someone comes to
me he's like, hey, man, I want to learn about

(46:00):
getting into broadcasting. And they'll either still have their air
pods in right while there and you're.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
Like, can you hear me?

Speaker 3 (46:08):
Or are some people will have something going on on
their phone, like what are you doing right now? It's like, oh,
I got a friend on FaceTime right now, but just
like hang out. I've had this happen to me before,
but these were younger kids, and these are just people
wanting advice. Bro, if you're on a FaceTime call in
the middle of a conversation with the team. It's one
of the greatest f us you can possibly give to

(46:29):
someone that you don't care and you don't want to
be there.

Speaker 2 (46:31):
Right right, I totally agree, But it is that enough
for them not to draft you?

Speaker 4 (46:36):
If sure? Absolutely? You know well?

Speaker 3 (46:39):
And again it's like that great Jimmy Johnson story right
where I was like, you're about Jimmy Johnson cut the
guy that fell asleep whenever he was in meetings and
someone had asked Jimmy Johnson, well, what would have happened
if it would have been Troy Aikman that fell asleep?
Jimmy Johnson said, I would have went over there and
nodged him and said, wake up, Troy.

Speaker 4 (46:55):
Do it again. Yeah, don't do it again? Right?

Speaker 3 (46:58):
But I mean, if if there, But I do you
think even if you can play, I do think there's
a certain level where most teams are even like, oh yeah,
not gonna deal with that right now. And if you
think about it, every year we get to this point
and I'm not talking post draft, I'm talking right around
draft time, and what is everybody crazy for Arnie next

(47:20):
year's draft class? Everyone's always crazy for next year's quarterback class,
and that started again, right, So then it became, well,
do you really want to go get a quarterback in
the second round or the third round because next year,
now that's gonna be the draft class, right, And this
happens every single year, so we'll see, you'll have a chance.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
I saw I saw an.

Speaker 4 (47:40):
Article, an article tweet.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
That I had an article, and it's saying Tom Brady
was the reason why the Raiders didn't want to go
ahead and get Shrador Sanders.

Speaker 4 (47:51):
You think I thought Tom Brady liked him?

Speaker 2 (47:52):
I thought so too, I so I I was kind
of surprised that something like that came out about Tom.

Speaker 3 (47:59):
But I think they're leaning on Tom quite a bit
with the quarterback side of things. I really do. And
I don't think they felt the need to go get
someone or someone didn't really knock their socks off right now,
though they did. They did. Raiders did some weird things
in the draft. I'm really happy about it. I think
they had one of their best drafts ever, Arnie. But

(48:21):
it was it was wild. It was wild to see
when they had back to back picks. I think it
was in the third they took back to back offensive linemen.
And then when they had back to back picks in
like the sixth, they took back to back quarterbacks the
quarterback and they like to pick later, took anout of
the quarterback. Now one of the quarterbacks is projected to
be shifted to wide receiver. But Raiders had a weird draft, Tommy,

(48:44):
I believe it was Mellett is how he said his name.
And Cam Miller out of North Dakota State, thank you
late night drug tester for mentioning it. Melot's going to
be the guy that looks like he's going to be
playing a different position.

Speaker 4 (48:54):
But I mean, I don't know, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
I guess maybe they saw something, Maybe Tom Brady saw
something and cam Miller that he liked more than Shador Sanders.
I don't know, because everyone had plenty of opportunities to
get him if they wanted them.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
Oh, absolutely, one hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (49:08):
You know.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
I was worried that you weren't even gonna get gent
with that pick because I'm like, oh, there's a trade,
and there's a good are they gonna take the running back?
And I thought Cleveland was gonna have taken him. That's
why they traded on down so you were very lucky
to go ahead and still able to get him. I
thought maybe he was gonna fall out of your lap
at that situation.

Speaker 4 (49:27):
Yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
All right, let's shift our focus then, because Todd Furman's
coming up here in just a bit. From the NFL
Draft to the NBA playoffs. Now, I understand that Yon
Cloud nine, your Nicks are up three games to one.
They won today, ninety four ninety three over the past
and over the Pistons Thunder have already moved on. So
I'm I'm up on easy Street. Even though thankfully John

(49:50):
Moran got hurt because you see what he said, John, No, No,
he had figured out the thunder. It should be too
too now in fairness, and I fought with a lot
of people on my local show. If John Morant doesn't
get hurt in Game three, at the very least, that
series is going five. I mean, Memphis was rolling and
then he got hurt. And we can talk about that

(50:10):
play until we're blue in the face. But I don't
know they'd be two to two right now.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
I don't think they were gonna be too two, but uh,
they we're gonna lose the series anyway, because they're not
as good as them.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
So but how's let's don't get into the negatives.

Speaker 4 (50:26):
Let's let's focus on the positives. Congratulations on your win. Now.

Speaker 3 (50:30):
I know you tried to quit on the Knicks once
again because you thought Jalen Brunton was injured and the
season was over.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
I'm he's done, and he was going back to the
to the locker room. I'm like, well, it's done.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (50:44):
He can't come back. We're gonna lose this game. Uh,
the season's over. He's not gonna be able to play
the rest of the series, and we're not gonna be
able to win it.

Speaker 4 (50:52):
Yeah, but you're good. So it looks like you're moving on.

Speaker 3 (50:58):
Have your hopes send it or descended for the Knicks
to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
Comeback that was we were down by ten in the third.
I'm like, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (51:09):
Every down ten and the third come on, dude.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
But that's when Brunson got hurt though, And I'm like, okay,
and I think it was in the fourth that they
were down by ten. But what a what a great comeback,
What a great run that was. And Town's hitting some
big shots and Brunson hit some big shots. I feel
better than ever that we're gonna go ahead and get
to the NBA Finals. I feel good now that we

(51:33):
take care of Detroit in five games, I'm ready to
take on Boston. Let's go.

Speaker 4 (51:38):
You sure about that?

Speaker 2 (51:40):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure about that. I have because, uh,
you know, Tatum was out of game. I know it
didn't hurt them.

Speaker 4 (51:45):
They still went anyway.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
But if Tatum's not gonna be one hundred percent, they're
not gonna run over the Knicks like, you know, like
they do some other teams.

Speaker 3 (51:53):
They're up three to one right now in the Magic
after they got to win earlier today. Lakers are in
deep trouble though, So let's focus on the Negati here
with Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Down three
games to one, they face elimination on Wednesday. And I
I mean, I don't know to the degree that JJ
Reddick is or is in being out coached right now,
which seemed to be a very popular theory with Mark

(52:14):
and Ephrim before us. I mean, Arnie, you're a basketball expert,
so you can go more in depth on that than
maybe my eyes can. I just I saw a team
that didn't have the same juice late that Minnesota did.
And I can't believe that Lebron James turn it over
on as basic of an inbound pass as you can have.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Yeah, that was a tough inbound pass.

Speaker 4 (52:34):
Man.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
They didn't run that thing right. That was a bad
call by the coaching staff by JJ Reddick. He should
have called in a different play. They had to throw
it into the front court base there. He had what
two seconds left, yeah, exactly, yep, So you know you
could still throw it in the back court and get
it across. They probably didn't want to take the chance.
Lebron just threw a bad pass. That was a bad

(52:56):
one out there. Luca was bad because he was calling
for it, but I think Kuca was in the back
court if I'm correct. I'm not sure about that. They
should have read a different play where somebody gets screened
and you get somebody open and he's on the run
and you get it get it to him like they
did with Brunson in the late in the game. So
bad call, bad effort, and that was one of the

(53:19):
big plays that that lost the game for the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
I don't think the series is over. I think the
Lakers can win Game five. Uh and if they can
get it back to Minnesota. They've shown they can play
while they're right. I mean, they easily could have won
each of those games they've had late game outdowns.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
Have This is one of the biggest upset series wise
in a long time in the first round. I mean, jeeze,
you have to go back a long time that we
had this type of upset.

Speaker 3 (53:46):
I mean when you think about when you think Arnie
about how what's the best way to put this hyped?
Talked about buzz there was right, I mean this and
they got all the way up to the three seed.
You would think you would think that they would come

(54:06):
in and play with their hairs on fire.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
Are Lebron like everybody else for not scoring in the
fourth quarter?

Speaker 4 (54:11):
Yeah, he was bad in the second half. I if it's.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
Well, fourth quarter, all for two in the fourth one turnover.

Speaker 4 (54:17):
He seems to me, and this is just this is
an observation.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
He seems comfortable deferring to Luca, but then he also
seems kind of poudy. You know, it's again that's really
unfair of me, but it's like he's okay deferring, but
there also seems to be like a little bit of
I don't know, Well, I guess you're gonna go do it.
You know, it's a I don't know how to explain,

(54:44):
and then he'll get he'll take terrible shots. You're not
You're not a three point shooter, Lebron. Luca's been off
a scotch in the series too, right, consistently, and credit Minnesota.
They've been the more aggressive team. And you know, maybe
we just Anthony Edwards. Maybe he's just a playoff guy, right,
even though he was great during the regular season. So
bottom line, more than anything else, do you believe the

(55:04):
Lakers can get back in this series?

Speaker 7 (55:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (55:06):
I think the distance I.

Speaker 2 (55:08):
Think they can get back in this series. Obviously, coaching
doesn't matter. I always told you I can coach the Lakers. Well,
obviously today I could have coached the Lakers. You know why, Chris,
because they didn't make any substitutions in the second half.

Speaker 4 (55:19):
It went with the same five the whole second half.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
I could do that, right, I can. Just I can
sit there with a good seat and not make any
certainly not calling plays from the bench. I promise you that.

Speaker 4 (55:30):
You're not doing any of that.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
You don't think he's calling any plays or dialing up
any inbounds plays or anything.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
No, I think he just has a good seat for
the game. He said he didn't want to. They decided
to have time that they weren't gonna make any substitutions.
I don't know if I believe that necessarily, so if
somebody gets in the foul trouble, you would have just
left him out there. I mean, Reeves finished to win
five fouls, So I'm not sure I believe that to

(55:56):
begin with. I think the whole thing, I think JJ
Reddick has to take some of the responsibility with that meltdown.
This was a complete utter meltdown by the Lakers. They
should have had this game. This should have been too
two going back to Los Angeles.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
Now they're in.

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Big, big trouble. It's gonna be real tough for them
to go ahead and get the rest of this game
and get out of this series.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Well, we're coming you live every single Sunday night here
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. And when we come back,
a regular Sunday conversation with Todd Furman. Where is the
panic meter for Laker fans? I'll tell you right now,
it's pegged. Our drafts coveratu're on Fox Sports Radio has
been brought to you by ship Station Calm the Chaos
with a shipping software that delivers use code Sports for

(56:37):
a free trial at shipstation dot com. That's shipstation dot
com Code Sports. Todd Furman is next on Fox Sports Radio.
All right, it's already in plank and we just watched
a while finish which isn't finished yet between the Oilers
and the Kings. Edmonton scores in the closing seconds, an
empty net goal to force overtime, knotted up at three.

(56:59):
Todd firm and joined us after spending last Sunday night
watching a little playoff hockey in person. How about that?
That was the series probably right there to keep Edmonton alive.
That was amazing.

Speaker 10 (57:11):
This series, even for a casual fan, has had absolutely everything.
Tremendous comebacks, you know, high profile players making all sorts
of impact plays, and I kind of joke the only
thing missing is goaltending at a playoff level that we've
grown accustomed to. But I know most fans that tune
in don't want to see a two to one, one
nothing type game, So we will be treated to a
great display in overtime and a fitting way for this

(57:33):
series either be knotted up at two games apiece or
the Kings that take a commanding three to one series
lead before they bring things back to crypto.

Speaker 2 (57:40):
You're getting a lot of money on the NHL playoffs
this year, Todd or what.

Speaker 10 (57:43):
You NHL playoffs out here, Arenie. It's kind of the
Vegas Golden Knights and everybody else. For a lot of
the sportsbooks that are there, it's more of an amenity
than anything else. People gravitate towards betting the NBA playoffs
where they know a lot of the names, they know
a lot of the players, and they feel much more comfortable,
you know, betting sides and totals where every think is
minus a dollar ten typically both ways. It can be
tougher to try and navigate through the trials and tribulations

(58:06):
of moneyline betting with the NHL playoffs. But the one
thing we see more often than not is people are
going to look to try him back some of the
big favorites. They'll tie them into parlays and as you
know all too well, they always want to root for often,
so plenty of overtickets floating around, and I'm sure folks
will relieved to see the others tie it up and
push this game over a closing total of six and a.

Speaker 3 (58:24):
Half todd As you might imagine, it's been our first
chance to talk about the draft. What was your what
was your fixed thoughts whatever? When it came to the
Shador Sanders situation. Just a mis evaluation by all this
mock draft nerds, or did he screw this up in
the pre draft process somewhere?

Speaker 10 (58:40):
Well, you the the more you read about it and
the more people you talk to close to the process,
it leads me to believe that he came in thinking
that he was above and beyond the process. And I think,
as we've seen in the NFL, it doesn't matter how
talented you are, it can humble everybody. So maybe this
becomes what he needs to create a chip on his
shoulder and to create that humbling experience. I do find

(59:01):
it a little bit interesting that the Browns elect to
draft quarterbacks with back to back picks, the first time
that it's happened in more than thirty five years. And
then you look at the odds for offensive Rookie of
the Year Dylan Gabriel right around thirty five to one.
Shador Sanders sixteen to one, And of course they traded
for Kenny Pickett, giving up a fifth round pick this offseason,
and he appears, at least on paper right now to
potentially be the odd man out unless the Browns want

(59:23):
to roster four quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
Yeah, I was gonna say, somebody's got to be out.
I think maybe Watson will still be on the injured list,
Pickett will be out. What does that, flack goes Sanders.

Speaker 10 (59:31):
In Gabriel, Yeah, I have to imagine Joe Flacco will
be the week one starter for the Browns, and of
course we don't know who they're going to play. The
schedule won't get released until May fourteenth, and then Dylan
Gabriel will fight with Shador Sanders most likely for that
two spot, and then we'll figure out what they do
with Kenny Pickett. But you mentioned Deshan Watson. I don't
think we see him play another down under center for

(59:52):
the Cleveland Browns. But if there's an organization that loves
to do things in a non traditional manner and achieve
lackluster results on the football field, Eveland Brown's other poster
child for doing so.

Speaker 2 (01:00:02):
Todd did anybody like bet that Shadoor Sanders would go
in the fifth round and it was like a million
the one or something like that that there must have
been some money won in the NFL draft.

Speaker 10 (01:00:13):
I mean that was the running joke on social media's
I'm sure you guys saw the initial over under for
Shador Sanders when that draft position was posted was three
and a half. The question became, was it picks or
rounds in terms of where shad Or Sanders was going
to come off the board. But I did see one
offshore Arnie for very low limits. If you wanted to
bet that No One Shadoor Sanders to come off the

(01:00:33):
board in round two, it would have paid right around
one hundred to one. So little to say for those
folks who had the foresight or the intel, they were
able to profit quite handsomely, especially with Shador Sanders not
just being the second pick. We excuse me, I should
say we saw money come in on Jackson Dark to
be the second quarterback taken in the draft. And again
the other joke that writes itself, maybe Schadoor Sanders was

(01:00:54):
the second quarterback just drafted by the same team.

Speaker 4 (01:00:57):
Nah's good.

Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
Yeah, Hey, with that in mind, was there anything during
the draft, maybe not a selection, maybe just a team
that went out and did some good things that changed
your perspective on a potential over under win total, or
maybe someone that landed in the spot that looked like
a good fit for maybe a Rookie of the Year bet,
anything that really kind of formed or helped shape an

(01:01:22):
opinion for you, Todd based on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
in the.

Speaker 10 (01:01:25):
Draft, I think the Arizona Cardinals did a lots of
bulls to their defense. If they're able to get Will
Johnson back healthy and performing at a high level from
that gruesome knee injury. We know what Walter Nolan is
capable of doing when he is fully entrenched and wants
to be out there playing the game. So it's an
Arizona team that I think can surprise some people that
if they get contributions from some of your young players,

(01:01:45):
will pay dividends. If we're looking at some of the
awards markets, a couple of players that stand out more
so with the running back spot in my opinion, then
at the quarterback I mean Caleb Johnson maybe going into
a ready made spot to be RB one for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. He fits the mold of what Mike tom
wants to do a little bit more than Jalen Warren,
who will still be on the roster. And then r J.
Harvey going to the Denver Broncos, a team that really

(01:02:07):
struggled for consistency at RB one, they of course parted
ways at Javonte Williams. He goes to the Dallas Cowboys,
and the one thing that r. J. Harvey can do
for Sean Payton he can catch balls out of the backfield.
So no reason for us to believe that if he
can grasp the playbook and perform at a high level,
that he can't replicate, at least on some level, what
Alvin Kamara was for Drew Brees and those proficient New

(01:02:27):
Orleans Saints offenses.

Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
All right, Todd, it's time to make a boatload of money.
What kind of odds can I get that the Lakers
come back and beat Minnesota in the seven games series
and obviously win in seven? What thirty to one, forty
to one? What kind of odds can I get on that?

Speaker 10 (01:02:44):
Yeah, you've got to be kidding me.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
So first no, no, I'm not getting what does that
too much?

Speaker 10 (01:02:49):
Yes, it's way too much. First things, first though, if
the Lakers do come back, Arnie, I'm glad you can
do the quick mass, it would have to be in
seven games when they faced a three to one devastit.
If the Lakers win the series in six, we have
quite the story is brewing and we would make NBA history.
But the Lakers, if you want to bet them to
come back in the series, just plus three eighty five.
I mean, no thirty to one or anything ridiculous like that.

(01:03:10):
That's a work, Arnie. It's calculated off something I know
that's not too you're not too fond of, which is
called math. And the Lakers is a four to four
and a half point favorite in Game five. There'll be
a modest road underdog if the series goes to Game six,
and they'll probably open up in the two to two
and a half range of a home favorite in Game seven.

(01:03:30):
So it's essentially a three game money line parlay for
the Lakers to come back and win this thing. But
pretty impressive from the Minnesota Timberwolves, I mean erasing a
double digit to second half deficit. And you have to
wonder if JJ Reddick, along with Lebron James, that co
managed that particular roster will second guess their decision not
to have a single substitution come on the court for
the final twenty four minutes today against the Wolves. They

(01:03:52):
just looked out of gas.

Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
Hike Tom most important question of the day, what'd you
think of Talladega?

Speaker 8 (01:03:58):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (01:03:58):
Look, I was a little bit dissip pointed in. You know,
Joey Logano and Ryan Priest being disqualified in post race inspection.
Probably a little easier pill to swallow for Ryan Priest
coming up just short because had that been his first
Cup Series victory and to lose in heartbreaking fashion would
have been problematic. But the one thing Plank that we've
seen we can kind of set our watch by. If
you're not betting a Penske driver to win at Talladega,

(01:04:21):
you're not doing things the right way as Austin Sindrick
gets the job done. And the other thing that you know,
it's starting to get late early for Brad Keslowski, you know,
bows out of the race pretty early.

Speaker 4 (01:04:31):
Today.

Speaker 10 (01:04:31):
We know Oklahoma's finest and Christopher Bell collected in a
wreck as well. But one of the toughest races to
bet on the schedule every single year, but it never
lacks for entertainment and a level of excitement.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Hey, last think Todd before I let you go. Good
no call right on the on the next game.

Speaker 10 (01:04:46):
At the end of good no call, we can say
whatever we want. But when the NBA issues in their
formal apology and their pool report that it was a
blown call, it speaks volumes. But Arnie, if you're looking
for thirty to one, that's where you should have gone.
If you believe in your beloved Nicks to cut down
the nets and win the NBA Championship. Thirty five to
one the growing ring for them, although I have to
imagine the Pistons will get a quite favorable whistle when

(01:05:08):
the series shifts back in Madison Square Guarden for Game five.

Speaker 3 (01:05:12):
Love it now, you man, have a good week, Todd.
Always appreciate your time on a Sunday night.

Speaker 10 (01:05:17):
Always a pleasure. Boys, enjoy overtime.

Speaker 4 (01:05:18):
There, yes, Todd Furnman. There he is Steve de Sager,
who has another game. He's keeping tabs on overtime.

Speaker 2 (01:05:26):
I wanted the Sager. My dad went to one hockey
game when he was living in Los Angeles and it
was against the Edmonton Oilers.

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
Playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:05:33):
The playoffs, the Kings were down five.

Speaker 9 (01:05:35):
To nothing, the miracle on manchest, Yes, and they.

Speaker 2 (01:05:38):
Tied it up in the third and what and overtime six'.

Speaker 9 (01:05:41):
Five that is, very very. FAMOUS i think that's How
Darrel evans made his. Name he's been On Kings radio ever.

Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
Since.

Speaker 9 (01:05:47):
Unbelievable AND i do like The todd just mentioned. There,
yes we mentioned. Earlier Talladego Austin syndric is the. Winner
Ryan grease was the close, second the guy who lost
by half a car length and then in post race
ex disqualified spoiler. Violation AND i like the fact that
the you guys kicked around national viewpoint of hockey. PLAYOFFS

(01:06:11):
i think we can say the three of us enjoy
playoff hockey quite a. BIT i used to cover THE.
Nhl CERTAINLY i enjoy playoff. Hockey and the guys that
are weeknights in this slot are from hockey cities and
enjoy it as, Well Jason smith And Mike. Carmon, nationally
THE tv ratings and interest on a day to day

(01:06:32):
basis just don't support. It for, EXAMPLE espn On Sunday
Night baseball a week ago and they're getting rid Of
Sunday Night.

Speaker 4 (01:06:42):
Baseball, yeah they're.

Speaker 9 (01:06:43):
Gone, Yeah sunday night baseball had double the viewership of
playoff hockey ON espn this.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Pitch oh my.

Speaker 9 (01:06:49):
GOSH espn had a triple header of PLAYOFF nhl hockey On.
Tuesday the first game got about six hundred and fifty
thousand viewers, nationally the next game got six hundred, thousand
the next game under five hundred thousand viewers. Nationally under
half a million viewers for a playoff game nationally.

Speaker 2 (01:07:07):
Yet but for that four nation, thing ratings through the
roof absolutely had million or something like.

Speaker 9 (01:07:12):
That and there are always things in all, sports Including olympic,
sports where you know it kind of transcends your. Sport
we see this with The World. Cup that doesn't mean
THE mls is going to get, rating although they they've
pivoted To apple so almost nobody can see them even
if they want. To at this, point, congratulations your sport is.
Disappearing but comparing WHEN espn had at the end of

(01:07:33):
the college football, season the first responderball Was Texas state
Against North. Texas they had almost three times the audience
for that than they had FOR espn playoff hockey this past.

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
WEEK i don't know what it. IS i mean there's
certainly a lot.

Speaker 9 (01:07:48):
Of it's, like it's not that it's not. EXCITING i
think the three of us will, agree BUT i think
the people have spoken the general sports. Fan what has
been exciting tonight is this game At. Edmonton Evan bouchard
two goals in the, third they tie up The kings
three to. Three the one that tied it with about
thirty seconds left was with his own net, empty six on,
Five so we're gonna be going to overtime in about

(01:08:10):
five minutes from. Now washington's up three games to one
after the five to win At. Montreal it was two
two with four minutes. Left by the, way if The
kings win on the road, tonight they'd be up three
games to. One carolina leads three games to one after
winning five to two At New. Jersey carolina was up
three to nothing early second, period and The Saint louis
series is tied at two games. Apiece they beat top

(01:08:31):
Seed winnipeg five to one today THE nba. Playoffs the
four games on The sunday schedule are in the, books
Including indiana winning the late game At milwaukee one twenty
nine to ONE ozh. Three indiana And boston Won New
york as. Well they're all up three games to one
in first round. Series the news From milwaukee that Guard
Damian lillard limped off in the first quarter tonight with

(01:08:53):
an apparent achilles, injury and it ran across a great
stat That Janison antennakoumpo continue used to play well in
his last nine playoff, games is averaging thirty, points fourteen,
rebounds six, assists and yet The bucks have won one
of the last nine playoff. Games giannis has been in,
Ooh minnesota's up three games to one after the late

(01:09:16):

edwards with forty three. Points phillies won The sunday night
ballgame at The cubs in ten, innings three to. One
yankee swept a doubleheader From, toronto and THE nba tweeted
tonight it is. Morning the passing of Former Nick Dick.
Barnett he played saw the FOURTEEN nba seasons a lot
With New york through nineteen seventy. Four the guy averaged

(01:09:39):
sixteen points a game for his. Career this is how
far back we're.

Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
Going with The.

Speaker 9 (01:09:44):
Knicks he won THE nba title twice nineteen seventy and
seventy three back to.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
You, hey by the, way this Is Ron. Hockey you,
said my kid used to take lessons from a goalie
that used to play for The. Kings The sega played
for The kings for like seventy.

Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
Years can you guess who it? Is eight?

Speaker 9 (01:10:02):
Years maybe guess Any king's goalie of the last fifty?

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
Years, yeah you come, on, man you should be able
to guess this.

Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Guy Kelly Rudy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:12):
Close Rogi.

Speaker 9 (01:10:13):
Bashu uh sure played a little.

Speaker 4 (01:10:16):

rounder was?

Speaker 4 (01:10:21):

Speaker 2 (01:10:22):
There you, go big good one.

Speaker 4 (01:10:23):
GOOD i like That arnie and his random trivia. Tidbits
so my daughter is a, dancer and, hey let's get
some of these tweets in here and steaking genius. One
i'm At Plank.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Show everybody go follow us At Fox Sports radio as
we all sit to watch overtime between The kings and The.
Oilers Nature boy's been on fire, tonight he, Writes better
watch out for That firman. Guy he might be taking
a FaceTime call while you guys are interviewing. Him Gunna.
RIGHTS i called this series before it. STARTED i said
wolves in. Five laker fans are at a ten for.

(01:10:58):
PANIC i don't, believe beleive that he said that wolves in.
FIVE i don't buy. THAT i don't believe.

Speaker 4 (01:11:03):
THAT i think he. Did did he? REALLY i think he.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
Did See dunner's a regular, caller or at least tries
to call on The friday night. Show arn'tie you sit
in some. Night he usually has phone. Problems BUT i
think the time he got in he said wolves in.
FIVE i can back him, up all.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
Right if he said The wolves in five and The
wolves make it to the, Championship i'll take him all.

Speaker 4 (01:11:27):
Right there you, Go there you, Go prowler forever.

Speaker 3 (01:11:31):
Right, unfortunately the lack of storylines and star powered allowed
the media to.

Speaker 4 (01:11:38):
What's a family friendly word for, that.

Speaker 3 (01:11:40):
Obsess Over shador all weekened and convince us to do the.
Same in a normal, draft with better, players he'd be a,
story but not to this ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
DEGREE i wonder how many people were pulling for him
or pulling against. Him loved, it hated, it felt bad for.
Him when he was his name was. Called the people
In Green bay gave him an outstanding. Ovation they, were you,
know really cheering in his. House they were really excited about.
It i'm just wondering what the rest of the country felt,

(01:12:12):
like if they enjoyed his slide or they felt really
bad for the.

Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
KID i watched the draft, religiously, yeah AND i have
SINCE i was a little, kid And i'm gonna tell
you right, NOW i have to. Disagree it's the most
they have ever gone to the podium on day, two day.

Speaker 4 (01:12:31):
Three they never do.

Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
That there's parts of day of day and you saw.
It as soon As shador got, drafted they stopped going
to the, podium. Right you never saw the until there
was Mister. Irrelevant every single time a team would come
up that might kind of maybe be in the mix For,
shador they'd go to the they'd go to the podium, right, well,
hey hold, on here comes The titans, pick here comes

(01:12:54):
The raiders pick, Right and they never do.

Speaker 4 (01:12:56):
That SO i.

Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
DISAGREE i think that it have been a story regardless
because He's Dion's, sun because he was projected to go
as high as he. Was, now maybe maybe dude has a, Point,
arnie because if it was a deeper draft quarterback, wise
maybe he's not even in the mix to be a
first round pick to begin, with and so it's not
even that big of a. Conversation but in a little

(01:13:19):
bit of a of a quarterback needy draft right where
there's not a lot of great, qbs he becomes an
even bigger story because of the lack of true star
power at that position beyond Cam.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
Warden how are you feeling if you're? Him do you
feeling too? Much are you?

Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
Mad are you?

Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Upset are you? Happy but you still got? Drafted because you,
KNOW i get mixed. Emotions to, Me i'd be so,
MAD i wouldn't be able to sleep at. Night i'd,
say get me on the first plane in The, cleveland let's.

Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
GO i want to.

Speaker 2 (01:13:52):
START i want to start getting there right now and
work it out with. People i'm Just i'd lose my
marbles over the whole.

Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
Thing, YEAH i don't, Know maybe he's wired a little
different on that. Front and then real quick before we
grab a, break G maying, WRITES i was wondering when
Melk kuyper was going to get off his soapbox and
When dion was going to stop paying him to basically
just brag on Shad. OR i THINK i cleaned that
up and all Mel kiper and hes a look in

(01:14:21):
the mirror and decide who he. Is, boy it was
it became pretty, obvious did it not that he just
wasn't going to, say, wow, MAN i missed on an evaluation.

Speaker 4 (01:14:30):
Here, no, no, no we all had to man he
ever said, That.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Has he ever said that he missed on an evaluation or?

Speaker 4 (01:14:36):
NO i don't.

Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
Know it's a good looking question right, now but my
man was not and he kept yelling at THE. Nfl i'm,
like you know there's specific. Teams the richest, comment by the,
way on the fall Of Shadoor sanders came from One Sean,
payton who acted like he's not a coach AND gm
of a.

Speaker 4 (01:14:54):
Team and did.

Speaker 3 (01:14:57):
You see, This Sean payton warrens teams that ass on
Shad Or sanders in the?

Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
Draft is he so coach At?

Speaker 2 (01:15:05):
DENVER i thought he was going to coach to be.
IVY i thought he was gonna take him later out
of the draft because of.

Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
That all, right when we come, back we're gonna hang
out with team To sager before we grab a break.
Though shouts out to our good friends at Ship station

when you talk about THE. Nfl they did Okay thursday
And friday with the draft. Coverage let's put it this.

Speaker 9 (01:16:05):
Way we recently had the final round of The masters
and that was there most watched in seven, years nearly
thirteen million. VIEWERS Nfl draft got over thirteen million viewers
On thursday night for round. One if you add up
it was on different, channels but thirteen point six million
including the digital, coverage and, then of course you hadn't

(01:16:26):
been drafted, Yet so The friday coverage another seven million
plus for rounds two and. Three The Washington post was
the first to report there's a news conference IN dc.
Tomorrow The Washington commanders are getting a new football stadium
and it's not only going to be IN dc, proper
it's going to be on the site of the OLD
Rfk stadium where The washington team played for, decades at

(01:16:49):
an estimated cost of three billion dollars, nothing SO i
looked it. Up, CURRENTLY Rfk stadium site is only about
two miles away from THE us. Capital the Current Washington
commander's team has been playing about seven miles the other,
direction across the border In. Maryland this would Put washington
team back In, WASHINGTON. Dc as for The Major League

(01:17:13):
baseball game At San, francisco and The giants are having
a great start to the, season but they were tied
to to bottom of the ninth Against, texas and they
already had a thrilling into The saturday game against The
rangers On FOX, tv and then today at, home nobody
on base bottom of the ninth in a tie. Game
The giants batter hit the ball to the, pitcher and

(01:17:33):
then the play started to resemble a little league taps
just one.

Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
To third And.

Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
Bill rob the ball and, henck, no that's gonna go to.

Speaker 1 (01:17:47):

Speaker 9 (01:17:58):
Ball about forty five and came all the right four.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
Bases he was stopping at.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
Second he was stopping at second for.

Speaker 9 (01:18:05):
A while, there and then they threw it wide at
third as, well a little league type home, run and
The San Francisco giants are winners, again three two Over.
Texas with that unearned, run The giants have a record
of nineteen and. Ten believe The dodgers with their win
eighteen and, Ten they Beat pittsburgh nine to. Two the
winning pitcher was three and zero Reliever Ben. Casparis why

(01:18:27):
was he in so early because Starter Tyler glass now
left with a sore shoulder last week he left with
a leg. Problem last year he had back in elbow.
Problems dodger Pitcher Blake snell is already, injured so coming
up this Week tuesday will be an all bullpen. Game,
wednesday The dodgers get Pitcher Tony gonsolin. Back he will
Start wednesday for the first time in almost two. Years

(01:18:49):
in the majors after His Tommy john. Surgery they had
him had some minor league games end of last year
just in case of using him in the. Playoffs he's
had some minor league games. Recently he'll. Start The padres lost.
Again Tampa bay won At San diego four to, two
so The padres have lost four. Straight their record now
seventeen and. Eleven Tampa bay has won five in a.

(01:19:10):
Row The a's in ten innings hit a two run
homer to beat The White sox three to. Two White

to a seven to six win Over miami today got
his tenth. Save HIS era is still zero for the
season in fourteen total. Innings Cal raley with his tenth
home run for The. Mariners Aaron judge hit his. Eighth

everyone's opinion on. It, okay, YEAH i but.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
First Big greg And, iowa is that the one you're talking?

Speaker 4 (01:21:08):
About Nok but, first, first we all have to.

Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
Agree moving this thing to different, stadiums different cities has
been an absolute home, run. RIGHT i, mean the, crowds
the moment when The packers finally drafted a wide receiver
in the first round And Mark murphy and for the
first time SINCE.

Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
O two and everybody knew what he. MEANT i, mean
it was just.

Speaker 3 (01:21:37):
Awesome but it does seem a little too, perfect, right
which leads to this question From roger the. Engineer question
about the. Draft, guys do you think the super fans
down in the front area are real? Fans are paid?
ACTORS a lot of those costumes look a little too.
Professional just, SAY.

Speaker 2 (01:21:57):
I THINK i think the real, fans they're real. Fans
how do they get tickets to something like?

Speaker 4 (01:22:03):
That THE?

Speaker 3 (01:22:04):
Nfl THE nfl finds. HIM i, mean, literally there's a.
GROUP i can't Believe i'm admitting, this but there's a raider.
FAN i, know and she she's not that bad thing
to admit to, it but like she gets invited all
the time by THE nfl all the. Time it's like
there's a super fan. Group, well why wouldn't they invite
me as A dolphin. FAN i don't, Know, arnie maybe

(01:22:26):
you need to join the group or.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
Whatever, RIGHT i, Mean i'm a Big dolphin, fan bigger
than anybody.

Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
Else so you think next year you should.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
BE i Think rogers, point, though is they don't just
stand there and like A dolphin shirt and, go, hey
we're number. One they literally have the most elaborate outfits
you could possibly imagine.

Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
They do they? Do would you being like that raider
guy with the spikes on his shoulders and all?

Speaker 4 (01:22:52):
THAT i could see you dressing up like? THAT i could.
BE i absolutely could, be one hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:22:57):
Percent but, okay so you're not buying that there's extra
paid actors or anyone there to make it look a
little bit more.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
Juicy real fans that just have a lot of money
and decide to go ahead and travel around and go
to the draft and places like, That.

Speaker 4 (01:23:10):
He, added diss On.

Speaker 3 (01:23:11):
Shador isn't it obvious WHAT gmr coach wants to deal
with coach prime and a social media. Bullhorn and we
all Know dion wants to be his coach in THE
nfl too at some, Point so who needs that?

Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
Headache that is? TRUE i mean you think that factors into.
THAT i also not.

Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
REALLY i think a little bit of, it not as
much as all the other, stuff but you add everything
up together and it becomes a major. Issue BUT i
think a little bit is in people's back of their.

Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
Mind auburn Wild. RIGHTS NHL tv ratings are pure.

Speaker 3 (01:23:42):
NONSENSE i was in The Las Vegas westgates sportsbook last
week and everyone was watching the, playoffs not THE.

Speaker 4 (01:23:48):
Nba they can't.

Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
Get more important election, polls, right you're telling me they
can GET tv, ratings, Right, WELL i mean number one
IF i mean in, Fairness i'm sure there was a
lot Of Olden knight fans There Auburn, wilde, right and
THERE'S i, MEAN i don't, KNOW i would, assume and.

Speaker 4 (01:24:06):
YEAH i just it's not. EQUAL i hear what you're,
saying AND i. AGREE i, mean we're watching this. Game
i'm training liking Damn game seven right now between The
oilers and The. Kings i'm loving, it BUT i, mean,
arn'ie just the reality is it has not resonated with
the non cities that have teams audience as much as
it has in the.

Speaker 2 (01:24:24):
Past AND i think what surprises me a little bit
more is back twenty twenty, five thirty years, ago we
heard that THE nhl will never be popular until they
get More american, players right, Right and that's exactly what we,
did did we. Not we we got a bunch of,
them and we got really Good american, players Great american,
players and that hasn't changed. Anything SO i don't know

(01:24:46):
what they could do.

Speaker 4 (01:24:46):
Next, well it's. Fun i'm, happy even Though i'm A kings.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Fan i'm having a good time watching this because to,
me it's a luxury to go get one on the.
Road so it's three, three we're heading down the home
stretch in the first. Overtime but good text on. That
here you. GO i some of these theories have been
hilarious to me on the should Or sanders, Front but
there's also some of, Us arnie who actually watched the

(01:25:13):
draft itself and fell in love with things other than
Just shoud Or, sanders, right like maybe Cam WARD I.
Am Writer Rob jay Writes Mike canes Cam ward here In,
nashville and then My dolphins draft the usual crap And
Chris greer. Mediocrity i'm very close to purchasing a cam

(01:25:35):
jersey and dumping The.

Speaker 4 (01:25:37):
Dolphins please.

Speaker 2 (01:25:38):
Help, oh you, KNOW i feel like everybody got better
in that. Division The patriots did well in the, draft
even The jets feel like they're getting. Better i'm worried
about My dolphins next.

Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
Year i'm a little worried about.

Speaker 3 (01:25:50):
That, well you said you liked the draft pick of
the big defensive Tackle, grant.

Speaker 2 (01:25:55):
RIGHT i do like, that but otherwise not too much
to be excited.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
About you couldn't care about any defensive linement or defensive.
Tackle you want to hear about the running backs and
wide receivers and.

Speaker 4 (01:26:06):
Quarterbacks you know that's what it.

Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
Is but we were all set in that. Position we're
ready to. Roll i'm ready to get at. It all
we have to do is stay. Healthy as long As
touas stays, healthy they should.

Speaker 4 (01:26:18):
Be, okay you like quintn.

Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
Yours he's not gonna see the field Unless twa gets.

Speaker 3 (01:26:25):
Hurt OF i, mean are you kidding? Me he's a
backup To. Tua you're trying to make these proclamations with
one of the most often injured quarterbacks in the. League come, on,
dude there's A twitter rumor That Shador sanders is Really lebron's.

Speaker 4 (01:26:38):
Kid that's from Nature. Boy can you confirm? That could
you confirm? That, no, IDEA i can't do, That. Colin
colin has a double shot. Here you're.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
Right so there's a reason THE Nfl man of The
year award is named After Walter payton and Not Deon.
Sanders young athletes preparing to enter the league would do
well to understand why playing in THE nfl is not
like most. Professions it's a privilege that has earned from hard.
Work it is not a right simply because of media
hype and a family member once played in the. League you,

(01:27:09):
know that's actually a really good, take BECAUSE i do
feel like in a lot of, ways there is this,
feeling this almost attitude from Coach prime where it's, like, oh,
well he's gonna start in this year and he's gonna
be a.

Speaker 4 (01:27:23):
Guy and because you, know.

Speaker 3 (01:27:25):
He hasn't he doesn't say the words because he's my,
son but it almost makes it seem as, if, oh,
yeah he's gonna have this advantage over everyone else, ATHLETICALLY dna,
wise he Should but that's where it should, end, RIGHT
i mean that's where it should.

Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
End it should be on hard work and what he.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Did and Boy, dion you guys that were given lebron
crap About. BRONNI i MEAN i have that same energy
For Coach prime in the way that he appears to
be acting about this appears to. BE i don't know
what's real and what's fake.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
Anymore it's gonna be E we're gonna say who's worse,
Him LeVar. Ball you know they're gonna we're gonna start
going through all the. Uh you, know family members are
fathers that, were you, know getting into their son's.

Speaker 4 (01:28:04):
CAREER i get's a privilege, absolute you, know WHEN i
Would WHEN i.

Speaker 2 (01:28:11):
Was At, arizona we had a quarterback by the name
Of Tom tunercliffe and he was going to.

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):
Be a sounds like a made up name by the, Way, no, no.

Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
No and he was easily going to be a first
round draft. Pick and his father wrote letters to half
the teams in THE nfl, saying don't draft my. Son
he wants to go to a certain. Place and that
just destroyed not just. Destroyed i'm not sure where he
ended up going after.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
THAT i think you can google it and find out
it's probably going to. Be he probably might not even
have A wikipedia. Page that's how poorly things. Went And
i've never heard of.

Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Him he was supposed to be a first round pick.
TOO i wonder what was his dude name? Again Tom,
Toncliffe ton Of, Cliff, Yeah ton Of, cliff Quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:28:54):
Arizona, yeah the career w record holder in total offense and.

Speaker 2 (01:28:59):
Passing he was a good, player there was no doubt about.
THAT i just don't remember if he ended up getting.
DRAFTED i think he might have slipped past the first
or second. Round i'm not sure where he got.

Speaker 4 (01:29:09):
Drafted hold, ON i found.

Speaker 3 (01:29:11):
It where are they? Now are you know? WHAT i
love your, Stories. ARNIE i wish you had an ending to.
THEM i WISH i don't know where they.

Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
WERE i, thought, YEAH i thought it would be A
wikipedia page on, him BUT i guess.

Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
Not are you even trying to look? Forward are you
counting on us to do this for?

Speaker 2 (01:29:26):
You i'm cutting on, You but you said you Have worrethy,
now So i'm cutting On.

Speaker 3 (01:29:30):
Yeah it doesn't look like you ever played in THE. Nfl,
wow that's kind of. Crazy, yeah not not drafted by
The National Football League in nineteen eighty. Four he played
for The arizona football team in THE Us Football, league
but decided to try out as a free agent for The.
Seahawks third on the depth, chart he was cut late
in training. Camp why not to chase the dream of playing?

(01:29:53):
Football can you imagine your father's writing?

Speaker 2 (01:29:55):
Letters don't draft my son and he doesn't get drafted at,
all doesn't even play in THE.

Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Nfl, Son it's.

Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
Crazy oilers just won it an overtime goal on a
power play to even the series up at two games a.
Piece they went at four to three with one two
in the first. Overtime was it? McDavid i believe it.

Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
NOW i see them going crazy, now, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:30:17):
Yeah it might have been.

Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
McDavid The kings fell uh kind of a rough, call
but they got to wear. It they'd let him play
and they didn't let him play. There so the power
play goal ends. It edmonton evens that series at two
games of two games apiece and The.

Speaker 4 (01:30:35):
King's perennial playoff. Nightmare The Edmonton oilers feel like they
play every year in the playoffs now they'll head back
To Crypto. Center was up was a goal For Edmonton grand.
Feur that's, right it was a grand. Fears my Man
stats has checked in late. Tonight he, WRITES i hate
to say, it but when The texas guy waited till

(01:30:56):
day three in the green room to be drafted and
The packers took him and he was welcomed by about
four hundred thousand, fans that was pretty. Awesome, yeah, yeah
that was pretty. Cool there was a lot of great
MOMENTS i thought in the, DRAFT i really do you?
Know it was more social media will make it seem
like it was just Mel kiper yelling About shad Or.
Sanders but there was a lot of really cool moments

(01:31:18):
in this year's.

Speaker 5 (01:31:18):
Draft but Like Max harston wapping up every first round
pick when they got called.

Speaker 4 (01:31:22):
Out he was so. Excited he was so excited for them.
ALL i don't even know if he knew half of,
them but it didn't, matter. Right it seemed like some
of them were, Like i'm gonna make it.

Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
FASTER i heard that they want to go ahead and
make it seven minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:31:36):
Now OR i thought it moved pretty. Well what did you?
THINK i thought there was good pace to. IT i did.

Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
TOO i didn't see why that's a, problem BUT i
guess they want to move in. Faster SO i wonder
if he figures there'll be higher ratings if they do.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
THAT i don't. Know this is a good point From.
Brendan we're just rolling through the.

Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
Tweets right off the top of our number three, Here brendan,
WRIGHTES i think The raiders said the best draft of
all the teams this. WEEKEND i think they'll be around
five hundred and twenty twenty five and make the playoffs
the following.

Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Season you got to be fighting for a playoff spot,
now my. Friend, yeah it's got to be like. Immediate
to be honest with, you.

Speaker 3 (01:32:14):
Exactly LIKE i, SAID i. GUESS i mean when you
have back to back. Picks i've never really understood just
taking the same. Position it's, like, oh we got a,
quarterback and guess, what we're gonna get another quarterback. Here
but everyone seems to like the gent, pick and people
usually complain about running backs going that. High and you,

(01:32:36):
know the best, pick the wide receiver out OF tcu
probably more of a tied.

Speaker 4 (01:32:39):
END i like a.

Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
LOT i dig the defensive secondary help they got also
they picked up a couple of. Guys, Listen i'm not
going to go through The raiders' draft just to say
THAT i like the things that they did this. Year
they kind of acted like a team that knew what
they were. Doing AND i don't know how to feel about.

Speaker 2 (01:32:54):
THAT a lot of small schools on that was for you, guys.

Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
Yeah offensive, lineman, yeah out of state and so against.
That if that was A Miami dolphins right, now A,
arnie wake the hell, up WRITES.

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Lj and Give blake some. Help you're a snooze. Fest
just like The dolphins. Draft they get A d. Grade
patriots get AN a grade on their, draft solid free agent.
Signings The dolphins may not finish in second next.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
Year and he wrote that when we started the, Show i'm,
like how COULD i be a? Stude we just started
the show And i'm a snooze Fester and.

Speaker 4 (01:33:29):
He said a snooze. Fest i'm. SORRY i thought he
meant you you being asleep last? Night.

Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
YEA i think that's what he was thinking, about is
what he. Wrote that's why he wrote.

Speaker 4 (01:33:38):
It let's see here was this is one THAT i
think is.

Speaker 3 (01:33:42):
Fair mister nobody who's been on fire, tonight talent rules
in THE. Nfl Tara lowans lasted four years for years
despite being a diva and a loud. Mouth Chad johnson did,
too But kaepernick fell off talent, wise and no one
wanted to deal with his protest should or is drama
didn't equal his.

Speaker 4 (01:34:02):
Talent you can be, drama you.

Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
Can HAVE tv cameras following you, around but if your
talent doesn't equal At, Arnie they're not gonna risk that
headache in THE.

Speaker 4 (01:34:11):
Nfl they're just.

Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
Not i'm gonna give you the ultimate what? If what
If Travis hunter was his? Son, WELL i mean he
Claims Travis hunter IS i know, That BUT i mean
would he have still gone in the first, round second?
Pick would he have slid? Down would he have? Dropped
or is he too much of a talent and they

(01:34:32):
would have taken him right off the?

Speaker 4 (01:34:33):
Bat? Well, okay?

Speaker 2 (01:34:35):
Fair And i'm just gonna say he certainly doesn't give
off the impression like Schre dur gives off the.

Speaker 4 (01:34:43):
Impression, okay does that make? Sense does that seem? Fair
do you want me to play What Jeff schwartz said earlier? Today?

Speaker 3 (01:34:50):
YEAH i THINK i think this will help answer the
question because it is a fair. One but this, morning
So Jeff, schwartz you hear him On countdown brought to
you by BACK. MGM i think he's on The Sunday
show and he related a story about you want to
talk about an oldie but a goodie ABOUT pac twelve
media day and when you're thinking, about, well you had

(01:35:12):
a situation where the second pick in the draft was
also Around, dion which is a fair. Point listen To
jeff AND i don't think he's told this on the air.
Before OH i guess it would also kind of help
IF i actually had it turned.

Speaker 4 (01:35:22):
Up SO i turned it.

Speaker 3 (01:35:23):
Up let's try this again With Jeff schwartz coming down
in three two.

Speaker 7 (01:35:27):
One you, know there are just a lot of people
with the Same sanders stories about behind the, scenes and
again they could all be from one. Source i've never
shared this, story but we we were supposed to interview
him in a pack to a media. DAY i was
doing a national radio and he came over to sit

(01:35:47):
down with, us was on FaceTime with someone, else walking
sat down to do radio with, us and then we
were told we had one minute with him before he
had to go somewhere else and that's not the way
media day.

Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
Works like the.

Speaker 7 (01:36:02):
Schedules you, know it's a long day of twelve coach
to meet twelve coaches and twenty four. Players you're gonna
be a little off. Schedule that's just that's life of
a media. Day it was middle of the. Day they
told us he had What we had one whole minute with,
him and we were in break by the, way and
then we're like we're in. Break he's, like, yeah this
his handler was not The Colorado. Sid it was someone.
Extra and Then sanders just got up and Said i'm

(01:36:22):
not doing this and just walked.

Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
Away and THEN i mean one small.

Speaker 7 (01:36:29):
Thing, yeah But i've been at five of. Those we've
interviewed every player that was supposed to be interviewed except.
One And Travis, hunter on the other, hand was the best.
Ever we actually told him his time was, up and
he stayed for fifteen more. Minutes we're, like any, man,
like thanks for joining, us, like and no one pulled them,
Away Like sid wasn't with, them so no one like

(01:36:51):
pulled them. Away we're, like, dude you can, go and he's, like,
Ah i'll. STAY i mean we talked ball for fifteen more.

Speaker 4 (01:36:55):
Minutes so LIKE.

Speaker 7 (01:36:56):
I, i, again it's one tiny, store but that seems
to be the story we hear from a bunch of different.

Speaker 3 (01:37:04):
People so there you. Go there's maybe a little bit
more perspective On Travis hunter.

Speaker 4 (01:37:08):
TWO i you, KNOW i.

Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
Heard him talking about, that and he's so, right and
that the person that tweeted. In it's good to know
that interviews still means. Something yeah, one they mean. Everything
they still do mean a lot of. Things i'm sure
experience means a lot, also but you can't go in
with an attitude like. That And i'm just surprised because

(01:37:31):
he probably should have known better with his dad Being,
Dion So i'm surprised that it got to this situation like.

Speaker 4 (01:37:37):
That, yeah me.

Speaker 3 (01:37:38):
Too got more tweets before we get out of. Here
good stuff. Tonight guy's great interaction At Stinking Genius. One
i'm At Plank. Show everyone go follow us At Fox
Sports radio and we are talking a lot of draft
and our draft coverage On Fox Sports radio is brought

mgm Every saturday And sunday morning right here On Fox
Sports radio and You Heart.

Speaker 4 (01:38:43):
RADIO i think.

Speaker 2 (01:38:43):
We're being too hard on schedure just because look at
some of the bad people that were drafted in THE,
nfl and we were talked about this, earlier assault and
sexual assault and just all kinds of bad, Stuff, chris
and yet, yeah yeah they drop a little, bit but
they still get drafted a. Higher this is, nothing you,

(01:39:05):
know this is we're talking about in an, Interview so
it's nothing he's, done you, know against the law or
anything like. That someone thing if we're really being fair
to him or.

Speaker 4 (01:39:14):
Not you, know.

Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
Are you? Okay like this is a complete one to
eighty from what you said an hour. One, no BUT
i look at look.

Speaker 2 (01:39:23):
At all the you, know all the other different guys
that got drafted. Higher they've had some bad stuff under their.

Speaker 4 (01:39:29):
Belt you know What i'm talking? About? RIGHT i?

Speaker 3 (01:39:32):
Agree BUT i mean you are talking about dudes that
did fall in the draft. TOO i mean THERE'S i,
mean they pay their penance for. IT i, mean at
least in the draft. Stock they just they just didn't
fall all the way. WELL i mean Lyle collins didn't
even get. Drafted Dak prescott fell because there was a

(01:39:53):
m not a. Rumor there was something, about, uh you
got in, trouble what a week before the draft or
something a.

Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Couple of weeks before the?

Speaker 4 (01:39:59):
Draft oh did? HE i thought it was just because
they thought he. Sucked that's why he fell that. FAR i, mean,
LISTEN i don't understand the pearl clutching over. This we
do this all the. Time this happens every.

Speaker 3 (01:40:13):
Year, now not quite to this degree where someone was
projected as, hey his ceiling is twenty One i'm. Sorry
his basement is twenty one and his, overrunner what Did
todd say was still like three and a half or
something whenever the draft started, Easy so to go one
forty four is quite.

Speaker 2 (01:40:32):
Substantial remember when they thought that betting the over two
and a half quarterbacks in the first round was a
steal that was like a done, deal you?

Speaker 3 (01:40:41):
Know, WELL i mean there was a point where it
seemed like easy. Money but who would have thought That
Tyler shuck would have been the guy that ended up
being closer to taking the first round than anyone.

Speaker 4 (01:40:52):
Else, NO i.

Speaker 3 (01:40:53):
Don't we don't need people to white night for a
guy because he didn't get drafted high. Enough and it's
wild how oh, wait y'all will just tear into. People
and then all of a, sudden one one dude who
everyone's telling you he did not handle this process, well good,
player but not enough talent to deal with some of
the baggage around. Him and then suddenly you got people yelling, at,

(01:41:14):
oh don't know THE nfl and other people yelling he really.
Sucks like we're gonna find, Out. ARNIE i, mean we're
gonna have games that'll be played and either it will
look like one of the great. Misses if The browns
end up getting their franchise quarterback in the fifth round
or everyone will be justified for not wanting to deal
with THE i say it, again this circus that's around.

Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
Him there was really a few EX nfl PLAYERS i
believe that were really pushing the narrative that they're calling this,
racist that said that there's a narrative out there and
they just don't want to you, know somebody who's, confident
who's black being taken so. HIGH i couldn't disagree. MORE
i thought that was crazy WHEN i saw stuff like.

Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
THAT i feel like there's certain people, that at least
in this sport and in the kind of, frame that
will always try to find certain things that they know
will get.

Speaker 4 (01:42:07):
Interaction can the number one pick? EXACTLY i, Mean Jaylen
milroe went ahead Of Shador. SANDERS i mean is?

Speaker 3 (01:42:14):
THAT i JUST i think that there is always people
that will do that and say that in certain, instances
not because they truly believe, it but because they know
that you'll react to.

Speaker 2 (01:42:24):
It And i'm not a lot of people that pushed
that narrative, Too And.

Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
I'm not doubting that it has happened and it has
happened and it will. Happen but that's not what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:42:32):
Here. NO i, mean come, on.

Speaker 3 (01:42:34):
Bro if you go in to any meeting with anybody
for any job for the rest of your life and
you decide to answer a FaceTime call and it's not
a family member on their, deathbed and then instead of
hanging up with that, person you're just, like hold, on
FAM i got this conversation right now with Coach gruden

(01:42:55):
and you just put your phone. DOWN i don't think
that's gonna sit well with. Anybody and that's what happened.
Here it's just come, on. Man you don't have to
claim we don't have to claim, collusion we don't have
to claim, racism but you don't claim that he. Sucks
we just have to point out he made terrible mistakes
in this process and he seems fine with.

Speaker 4 (01:43:13):
It he's already like.

Speaker 2 (01:43:15):
Crazy, yeah you brought up the coach of The giants
who Said.

Speaker 4 (01:43:19):
Brian dabele who called him, out so they.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Are what's going on? Here you, know are you into
this or what called him? Out and he guess he
got mad for being called.

Speaker 3 (01:43:27):
Out, well the bottom, line more than anything else is
through all of this fighting and the domination of the
new cycle this has had over the last seventy two,
hours if not, more we're gonna find. OUT i, mean
we're gonna get an answer because they're gonna play football,
season AND i guess maybe more important to this, already
we're gonna have a preseason and during that preseason we're

(01:43:48):
gonna find out where he.

Speaker 4 (01:43:49):
Ranks AND i think he's gonna be pretty. Good how
do you think he has handled this whole. Situation he's
gonna be very popular in the.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
PRESEASON i see people buying his, jerseys and we're gonna
want to watch The, browns the rons to be ON
i don't know where you gonnaut him ON, tv THE
nfl network or, whatever but they're gonna want to see
what he. Does they're gonna be looking at that First
browns game for.

Speaker 4 (01:44:08):
Sure oh heck.

Speaker 3 (01:44:09):
Yeah, well one final time, tonight here he Comes steve
To seger to get a squad up on everything that
is now a.

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
Final, absolutely it is now a. Final At.

Speaker 9 (01:44:18):
Edmonton as you mentioned, earlier it was a power play
goal in overtime for The oilers that beat The La
kings four to, three and yes it wound up being
called a drysadle power play goal and unassisted is what
they eventually decide, on but that makes it two games
a piece in this first round. Series Saint louis even
at two games apiece after Whipping winnipeg today five to.

(01:44:40):
One carolina And washington each on the, road each one
each up three games to one in THE nba. Playoffs
the four winners on The sunday schedule each up three
games to one in first round. Series, Tonight indiana shot
sixty percent from the floor and one At milwaukee one
twenty nine to one oh. Three bucks Guard Damian lillard
limped off off in the first quarter with an apparent achilles.

(01:45:02):
Injury boston wanted To orlando one oh seven ninety eight
Is Jason tatum at thirty seven points fourteen. Rebounds this
game was tied with four minutes. Left paulo benkerro The
magic thirty one. Points he was twelve of thirty two,
shooting Though DETROIT'S Kd cunningham at a triple double but
seven turnovers as, well And New york won At detroit
ninety four ninety. Three Jalen brunson thirty two, points eleven

(01:45:25):
Assists Karl Anthony towns twenty seven. Points The knicks were
down eleven.

Speaker 4 (01:45:30):
With about eight months to.

Speaker 9 (01:45:31):
Go let's go and they won the. Game and after the,
game the refs admitted a foul should have been called
On New york at the end On detroit's three point at.
Ten but The pistons franchise now has lost nine straight
home playoff.

Speaker 4 (01:45:42):
Games that's the. RECORD i think that ties.

Speaker 9 (01:45:45):
The league record here since two thousand and. Eight this
is what The pistons have done At Minnesota forty three
points From Anthony edwards in a late comeback over The lakers,
one sixteen to one. Thirteen timberwolves were down seven with
five minutes to. Go Luka donsich thirty eight, Points Lebron
james twenty seven, points twelve, rebounds eight. Assists lakers Host game,

(01:46:05):
five facing elimination On, wednesday down three to one in this.
Series you were Talking lakers, earlier And lebron did play
forty six of the forty eight. Minutes Luka donzig forty
six minutes on the, court no substitutions in the second.
Half lebron did not score a point in the fourth.
Quarter luca was one of six shooting in the. Fourth
so The wolves have won every fourth quarter of this,

(01:46:27):
series outscored him in every fourth and the total is
one oh five sixty nine in fourth quarters so. Far
so if the season ends for The, lakers and therefore
For Lebron james this coming, week that would end season
number seven for him IN la and it would mean
five years out of the seven he either loses in

(01:46:49):
the first round or misses the.

Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Playoffs what championship?

Speaker 9 (01:46:53):
Championships one title and remember a couple of years ago
they made The West finals and got. Swept everything else
has been and utter disappointment By laker. Standards well we do.

Speaker 2 (01:47:04):
Have hartman was saying it's time for him to.

Speaker 4 (01:47:07):
Go, well.

Speaker 9 (01:47:10):
You're saying you're Quoting Steve. Hartman, yes so wrote we
really need On Fox Sports radio is An arnie And hartman.

Speaker 3 (01:47:17):
Show, yeah you know, what that's probably the, future just
saying there's no doubt about. It they'll have all their
crazy rumors and feelers on people that need to be
fired after.

Speaker 4 (01:47:27):

about just getting the next? One you?

Speaker 11 (01:50:21):

Speaker 12 (01:50:44):
Playoffs fatigue shouldn't shouldn't play any role in, this you, Know,
uh play a lot of, minutes BUT i shouldn't play a.

End uh during the during the last.

Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
Minutes there you.

Speaker 3 (01:50:59):
Go they played better on the defensive end during the
last minute And Aunt, Edwards oh my.

Speaker 11 (01:51:05):
Gosh, yeah it's gonna be, physical, Man i'm gonna. SAY
i was trying to make a, point but just letting
him know that we, here, like we ain't just gonna
you ain't just gonna push us around all.

of oxygen and probably put them in a tough spot
against The. Warriors it looks like in the second. ROUND
i Just i'm kind of here for The thunder to.

Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
Sweep either The nuggets of The clippers and get onto
The Western Conference. Finals so that's.

Tyler, warren and so did the one you just sent
me To Isaiah man who never got.

Speaker 2 (01:56:28):
Drafted, no he didn't get. It was that the wide
receiver that, ye, YEAH i feel bad for. Him, then you,
know it's not so funny when that happens.

Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
Too but as long as you have someone taking a
video of you while you're making the call and you're,
laughing you're gonna get some, Clicks, Arnie and that's all
that matters.

Speaker 2 (01:56:43):
Here that's just crazy that they're taking videos of them
making these. Pranks that's that's. Crazy all. Right let's get to.
It TOMORROW'S nba where The cavaliers have a three games
to nothing lead over The. Heat cavaliers will finish it,
out they'll get the, weep but take The heat plus
the eight and a half in the, game but they're

(01:57:04):
not gonna win. It The cavaliers get the sweep, there
and The rockets and The. Warriors what a good one that's.
Been Golden state up two games to, One Golden state
gets the victory to go up three to. One they
cover the three and a, half and they probably beat
The rockets in.

Speaker 4 (01:57:22):
Six.

Speaker 2 (01:57:22):
Games i'm gonna say six. Games On, tuesday it's all.
Over The pacers finish out The, bucks they win it in.
Five My knicks finish out The. Pistons that's gonna be.
Done that's gonna be. Five The celtics and The. Magic

(01:57:42):
The celtics, win they'll finish it. Out that's gonna be.
Five and The clippers and The nuggets are gonna be
the only good series. THERE i Like denver to win
this one and go up three games to, two so
there you. Go AND i like The lakers to come
back and beat the and beat the Timber wolves and
win this, thing obviously in. Seven so there you have my.

(01:58:03):
Picks do of them as you, please no longer strictly
for entertainment purposes.

Speaker 4 (01:58:08):
Only let's Go, Lakers let's.

Speaker 3 (01:58:09):
GO i think you might have just jinxed The lakers even.
More they haven't looked they're not you, Know lebron tonight
in the post game that we played, said, hey teams
aren't running away from. Us he's and he's, right but
they're also running down near the end of.

Speaker 2 (01:58:24):
Games he didn't sound so crabby.

Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
Tonight i'm shucked at. That you.

Speaker 3 (01:58:28):
Know it's weird to watch, him AND i don't, know
Maybe i'm making too much of. This maybe the those
who watch every minute and every second would. Disagree but
he's deferring. More he doesn't seem happy with, it but
then all of a, sudden he'll be this jolt of.
Energy he's still firing up ridiculously long range threes that

(01:58:48):
he has no business, shooting and he'll hit. One you're, like,
whoa let's, go and then he'll jack to shoot another.

Speaker 4 (01:58:54):
One he he.

Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
Does it's weird, because like you, said he doesn't sound too.
Upset they seem kind of, piece but they just haven't
played well down the.

Speaker 4 (01:59:03):
Stretch. Arnie they gotta find.

Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
Something they gotta find something if they're gonna counter the
enthusiasm of The Minnesota timberwolves On wednesday. Night you want
a couple of tweets to wrap it up for the show. Tonight,
absolutely let's do it, all, Right, BILL i think The
Atlanta falcons had one of the better. Drafts surprisingly, enough
got some help they need on the line of, scrimmage
which they, sorely sorely. Needed, BILL i will give you

(01:59:27):
A tvd because giving up a future first round pick
to get back in to Get James. Pearce it's it's.
SOMETHING i Like James pierce a. Lot you shored up
your edge, rushers AND i loved what they did to
the fourth.

Speaker 9 (01:59:39):
Round.

Speaker 3 (01:59:40):
Arnie they took my, Guy Billy bowman. Junior Look, out look,
Out Victor. Wrightz The lakers are, Done, arnie and they're
done for the next ten.

Speaker 4 (01:59:49):

be ready for this, one no, Doubt.

Speaker 3 (02:00:02):
Arnie good job dropping the knicks in the middle of
the third. Quarter that was from the mayor Of. Simpleton.

Speaker 2 (02:00:07):
YEAH i was pretty bummed out at that. Point good
come from behind, There.

Speaker 3 (02:00:12):
Oh my, gosh and morol Right Shador sanders stole THE
Nfl draft for the first time IN Nfl draft. History
the number one pick is insignificant well also added to
the fact that a massive trade it happened right in
the middle of him getting selected, Too so shout out
