Chris Plank and Arnie Spanier open the show putting a bow on the NFL Scouting Combine, diving into all of the biggest storylines coming out of Indy! Which prospects were the biggest winners and losers of the week? How might the quarterback class play out? Will this be the best running back draft of all time? Arnie and Plank also get into the 49ers trading Deebo Samuel to the Commanders for a fifth-round pick... Which team, if any, won the trade? With Matt Stafford and the Rams agreeing to a restructured deal, the guys discuss whether Aaron Rodgers to the Giants is now a real possibility. Later, they react to recent comments from LeBron James where he blamed the media for young NBA players not wanting to take up the "Face of the League" mantle.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, oh? This was all big time bats. I didn't
do anything. I didn't go to the gym, I didn't
go to Orange Theory. I ordered out all the time.
I didn't do anything.

Speaker 5 (00:36):
I just good on you man.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah, sat around and just gain weight and didn't do anything.
It was great.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
You sat in on a show last night that you
didn't talk on. That had to be pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
So it was like, is arn he on this show tonight?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
So is that just what I need to do is
just fill a buster and I won't get swatted away
by you.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Just go ahead for the three hours I'm here.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Just the case.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
What's the first thing that you allow yourself to do
whenever you're so you're batching it when you're solo. What's
the first thing that you make sure you do when
your wife is gone that she wouldn't let you do
when you're there.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Oh, it's it's easy. I mean, my son and I
would go to the all you can eat Chinese buffet. Yeah,
there's no way my wife would go. But she doesn't
even like to go to ninety percent of the restaurants anyway.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
But we we.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Make sure we go to the all you can eat
buffet and that every time she's out of town. She's
going away to Boston in a couple of weeks, so
we'll do that again.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Due my goodness, man, she's just doing everything she can
to stay away from you.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Is Yeah, yeah, I may go down for a day
or two, but yeah, that's uh. I just gotta live
the tough life. I got to take care of the dog.
That dog takes up all my energy. Oh it really
gets me up at six in the morning. And what
gotta feed it? You know, stuff like that build up.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Well, I guess you can't put doggy doors on your
door and like from because of the weather.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Right, No not, It's it's like it's like minus twenty
to minus thirty winch O factor my gosh. Yeah, it's
it's pretty bad at it. I didn't go out at all.
So is still that bad? Oh? Yeah, right now it is.
It's horrible.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Oh my gosh, Man would move? How could someone that filled? Yeah,
come Newvian, Oklahoma. He's like seventy degrees outside today. How
could someone who's spent a majority of their life in
warm weather places. Right, you've been in Arizona, you've been
down in Dallas, you're out in La I mean, I
know it's been a minute since you've been there, but
there's got to be an adjustment.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Right, Well, I've been here over twelve years now.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
Oh okay, so you're used to doing that.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah. And I am a New Yorker in case you
didn't know that, So I was born in New York.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I never know what you'rena claim. Man, You wow to
be well, I mean, I'm just being honest. Right, you
went to Palisades and then you then you're a West Coaster,
and then you're an Arizona guy. Then all of a
sudden you're from the mean Street to the Bronx. I
don't know where you claim.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I was going to get in the car, huh yesterday
and drive about thirty forty miles the vice president was
in town.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
So I was all, yeah, I wanted to go see
him and say, oh, maybe take a selfie or something
like that.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Very cool man.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Well my wife said, well, my wife's like, do you
know you're not going to get within like five miles
of that guy? You're Arnie Span. Your man's like, go,
do you know who I am? You know who I am?
What's wrong with you?

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Before we kick off everything, just one of our rags,
Todd Furman, it's not with us tonight. So just to
fill that void, we'd love to hear more from you
on Twitter at Stinking Genius one. I'm a plank show.
Everyone go follow us at Fox Sports Radio and I
have a question for you.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Now this was not on the Roman numeral rundown, And
thank you for putting a lot of Roman numerals based
on the combine and the NFL stuff that we have
this week.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
So I did.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I did put the combine that was number four.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I know, but you've got all this NFL stuff and
that's where I want to start. Yeah, I know you
don't follow the combine. Guys that are working out hardly
anyone worked out. I mean, there was one quarterback that
ran the forty in the second group of quarterbacks, and
that was Tyler Shuck. I talked to you, guys, I've
been talking since the middle of the football season about

(04:08):
my excitement to watch Jalen Milroe run the forty and
he didn't like. The top five edge guys in offensive
tackles didn't work out. You know, it's just hardly anyone is.
None of the quarterbacks really through. Right, we didn't see
should or Sanders or cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
I've got a thought, actually, the one that did throw
is getting all the Jackson neigative, getting all the negative
press out there.

Speaker 5 (04:33):
Oh Jaylen Milroe.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Right, No, no talk about Will Howard. Oh listen, did
you see on Twitter there, guys. I mean, I don't
know how to put this, but go. They are destroying him.
They're destroying him so bad that I think should Dor
Sanders got on Twitter and said, hey, hey, do you

(04:54):
ease up on my boy Will Howard? It's tough to
throw the receivers you don't know, and blah blah fair.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
And he should be defended.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I mean, I'm saying kind of tongue in cheek that
the joke I always have is when we cover the
Big twelve as closely as I used to, Like you
are now right. The first time we saw Will Howard
play in the first season he started, you know, he
was a backup for your boy Scaller Thompson. Whenever he
was at Kansas State, he was he was his backup.
And he ended up playing because Thompson got hurt and

(05:23):
he was awful, and we all thought he should just
move to tight end. Well lo and behold. Five years
later he went to national championship. But that's neither here
nor there. Okay, This week I felt like was kind
of like super Bowl Radio row round two. And it's
wild to me. It wasn't to the degree that the
super Bowl is. There wasn't someone trying to pitch you

(05:47):
on has avocados or anything like that. But I mean,
this was an event the combine arny for the longest
time that the NFL didn't want anyone at right. You
you were there if you were a coach or obviously
a prospect. But now all of a sudden, you know,
they've kind of opened the doors, and you know, you

(06:07):
got serious x MNFL radio, You've got Pat McAfee, you've
got Dan Patrick Stewant. I don't know if Dan was
actually on site. You've got shows that are there all week,
You've got all kinds of TV presents. I mean, is
is this becoming one of those events that's going and
rumors like crazy? Right from Matt Stafford. We saw that
Samuel deal. We follow the roller coaster of guys moving

(06:29):
up and down. Is this kind of gonna become one
of those benchmark events every single year for not just
the underwear Olympics, but more so kind of the rumor
mill and the and the gossip mongering.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
You think, Oh, I agree with you. There the rumor starts.
It starts, so we can start saying now that rumors
start with these scouting combine. You know, sure the way
we say a series doesn't start until you, you know,
lose one at home. Well, same thing now the scouting combine,
it starts. The rumors start there. So I I agree
with you a hundred percent. You know, it's funny because

(07:01):
I think the media has made the Scouting Combine bigger
and bigger every year. Yeah, but I don't think our
fans find it bigger and bigger every year. I think
there's still you're really not conformers to it. They really
just don't care. To be honest with you, I could
not agree more.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Yeah, what is this, Mary? What did we drink before?
They We're a green lin everything.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
But I think crazy. The media keeps making it bigger
and bigger though, but yet it just doesn't seem like
the fans are catching on with it.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
I have a theory on that too. Now, this is
what happens. When I started doing a Friday night show.
In the middle of the night, I have all this
time to come up with these theories, Arenie. I think
it's because the focus isn't anymore on the forties or.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
What the actual workouts are.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
It's it's kind of in an we bash on the
NBA coverage, right, and we had the big every the
big Lebron fight this week, which we'll get to later.
But I feel like it's all about the rumors and
the stories now, right, You're you're going to hear about
what this person's going to tell you they're gonna do,
and then if they work out, great, If they don't,
you're like whatever, no one's working on. I just I

(08:07):
kind of feel like it's become a bigger deal because,
like you said, it's where the off season starts. It's
where the rumors kind of grow. We had a thrownout
almost between two insiders. That's how tense it got. We
had to fight a Starbucks line almost.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
And also, I don't think that I think the teams
have taken a step back on the combine. To be
honest with you, I don't think they take it as
I don't want to say, as serious as they used to.
But I don't think they said everybody like they used to,
like it was a major event out there. So I
think they've kind of taken a step backwards on it.

(08:45):
Also too, I think you're right. I think you're right.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
And you know, it's kind of wild because I used
to be all about like the measurements and things of
that nature and the forty Times, But I maybe I'm
getting old, Darnie. I'm like, you know, measurements, whatever, what's
going on with Stafford right now? And is Aaron Rodgers
going here? Hold on, hold on, everybody be quiet. Ian
Rappaport's talking from the commune. That's how I was this week.

(09:12):
The guy's running the forty were on in the background.
Every so often I look up. It's like four or
five six, not bad. I was just I've been glued
into the rumor because again, part of it might be
because I feel like there's gonna be so many quarterback moves.
And also maybe the other part of it is to
what you said, Arnie, teams are even kind of pulling
back because you get those thirty visits. You're still gonna

(09:32):
have pro Day's on campus conferences like the Big Twelve
were doing a PRODA too.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
And I've always said this, Chris, for as long as
we've been doing the show. The combine starts the reason
why so many GMS coaches and owners screw up the draft.
And it's horrible. I mean, in such a thing where
you shouldn't have that much, you know, that many mistakes

(09:59):
in it, you screw it up big time. And it
starts with the combine, with the forty and look what
he did here, and like the Will Howard stuff because
he had one bad day. Instead of looking at the
totality of what he did in college, we're just gonna
judge him on a forty five minute throwing session breaking
out of colder. Maybe he just didn't feel well. It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
Yeah, no, uh no, kid man.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
So I thoroughly enjoyed the Combine this week, but for
a different reason. You know, it used to be it
used to be because of the forty times. This week
it was because of the rumors. And you're right, a
lot of gms are gonna lose their jobs because they'll
go gaga over a forty yard dash or I.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Don't know, maybe some intangibles.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
The meetings are still a big deal, I think, Arnie,
I think the individual meetings are still a big deal
at the Combine.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
But to me, it's become the gossip one.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Can you give me a rumor? Can you give me
I heard one rumor? Go ahead, I think I'll give
you one that I saw on Twitter, So it's gotta
be true. Then if it's on Twitter, it's one hundred
percent true. There's one quarterback, one quarterback out there that
they love so much that they're downplaying him, hoping that
he wouldn't look good at the Combine because they're just

(11:13):
licking their chops over him.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
Oh is that Jackson Dart? You use that?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yes, quit yours? They love him and they you know,
because I guess they don't have to take him in
the first round. Maybe not right, And they're hoping that
he kind of they're don playing him and hoping nobody
really catches on him.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
So who would they be? Just like everyone?

Speaker 2 (11:37):
No, actually there was a team that was tied into him.
I wanted to say the Cowboys, but I'm not sure.
I'm not sure to be one hundred percent.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Well, it's it's gonna be interesting because if you don't
like this quarterback crop, right, which is what seems to
be a lot of the buzz, And you know, usually
when you don't like the quarterback crop, like four guys
end up going in the first round. It's like, wait,
I thought no one liked this. I don't know, Arnie.
I think that there's still a chance that you could

(12:05):
get two guys gone in the top five. And I
kind of think that maybe it's not just Quinn yours.
But could I add that some of the bad talking
about Shad or Sanders is maybe with a hope that
he slips a little bit, or that you don't have
to worry about jumping over teams to go get him.

Speaker 5 (12:22):
Like, I don't know about you, when you watch him a.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Heck of a lot more probably this year than you
ever have before, with your eyes on the big twelve.
I kind of came away and like really impressed with him.
I know he had Travis Hunter. He just he got
the snot kicked out of him all year long, and
he kept coming back.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I don't want to, you know, I love the rumor mill.
That's why I don't want to believe all the stuff
about what they're saying about Sanders. How if there's anybody
that could drop out in the twenties and sand there's
up in the top it that that's not true. I
don't believe it. The only thing that has me questioning
everything in this draft.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
I like that, by the way, that phrasing is great.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
The only thing that has you questioning everything is I'm
ready go ahead.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Is because it starts at the top. And if Abdua
Carter was supposed to be the number one pick, I
don't know what to make of this foot thing. And
you know, you could say he doesn't need surgery and
sweep it under the rug, but that's not good enough
for me. And I saw a tweet by doctor Chow,
the NFL doctor, that said, how do they find this out?
This is not something you do with a you know,

(13:24):
typical just typical testing. You have to say, hey, this
really hurts and undergoes something specific. I can't take it
with the number one pick. I don't even know if
I can take it in the in the first five.
I got big questions there. That's the only thing why
now the whole draft may go in a whole different
direction because he might have been the number one pick

(13:45):
or still maybe who knows.

Speaker 5 (13:46):
I think.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
I think what's interesting about that is the very first
report I saw, and I know I saw this right
said he was gonna have to.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Get surgery because it was a stress fracture.

Speaker 3 (13:59):
Right, that was there, And so I kind of lived
on that, and then no more than thirty minutes later,
it's like, well, out ofm schefters reporting that it's not
gonna need surgery. You're like, what you know that shift
into the span of thirty minutes, and I thought, you
know baseball pitchers all the time, they're like, oh, if
he has an arm injury, don't say anything, and you know,
maybe maybe he can work through it and it won't

(14:20):
need surgery. And you're like, oh, okay, well, how did
that go from being a foot stress fracture that it
sounded like they just found and would need surgery to
not needing surgery in the span of thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
That's cool. We don't want him to drop from number
one out down to number twenty is that's exactly. And
then once he gets drafted by a team, you know what,
we've decided he does need surgery and we're gonna, you know,
go with that route. I totally can see that happened.
I'm not a doctor, but you know you can see
that as a possibility.

Speaker 3 (14:48):
Well, I would say all of my favorite rumors probably
centered around the quarterback. And I don't know if we
had anything that was too jaw dropping except that some
and depending on your insiders, right that you choose, some
say the gap between cam Ward and Shad Or Sanders
has widened and that cam Ward, if a quarterback goes one,

(15:13):
is going to be the quarterback that goes number one.
So I gotta can I can I tell a couple
of other nuggets at you when we get back, because
I nerd it out on this all week long, and
I found myself not being able to come to you
tonight with I think this guy's moving up a draft board.
I came to you tonight with I think this dude's
on the move and I think this team's going to
go that direction. And I don't know about you, Arnie,

(15:34):
but before we grab our first time out, did we
have a record number of people that were given the
opportunity to go out and look for a trade?

Speaker 5 (15:41):
Jonathan Allen with Washington.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
But Seattle had a safety, a couple of other dbs,
and then obviously the Matt Stafford situation that.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Played out, Couper Cup situation. Does he I haven't heard anything, Okay,
so the Rams are trading him. He's not out there
looking for a team or a z.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
That's been one of those to where I think you
only empower certain people to say, hey, go find your worth,
right and let's see what happens. And I think with
Cooper Cup, it's kind of yeah, you're gonna trade wherever
we send you. You're going wherever we send you. But
let me get to my rumors when we come back,
or at least my notepad. We'll unload it next from
the week of Combined Talk, and we'll get your tweets

(16:19):
in here as well. It's Dinking Genius one. I'm a
Plank show. Everyone go follow us at Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (16:37):
All right, welcome back in.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
It's already a plank coming to you live from the
tairaq dot com studios.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
You have.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
I just I was cracking up about ar conversation during
the break and basically I spend every commercial break just
yelling at our promos. And then Mary comes back with
UB forty in red red Wine. I don't know, I
just just it's a banger. You're right, one hit wonder.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
I don't do that to you before Wow, they have
another song. I don't know what it is, but they
got another song.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
All right, we'll play next break and I'll see if
I won't even I promise. So are you by the
way before I I unload this to know Pat Arnie,
are you an Oscars guy? Or no?

Speaker 2 (17:15):
No? No? You know my mom used to watch it
like it was her holiday. She loved it so much.
And really, oh, you know what the people a wear
and walk in the red carpet and just ate it up.
I did see the part though I did turn it
on for a few seconds. It happened to be right.
When Adam Sandler was there, you know he didn't dress up.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
And you look like a homeless person.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Yeah yeah, Jim shorts on and a hoodie and uh,
you know they did a little bit. I gotta tell you,
you know, I love Adam Sandler. They're not as funny
when they have to kind of improvise and do something
kind of like on you know, do something live in
front of people like we are. We're a lot funnier
than That's Sandler and them really.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Has to accept that. And as soon as he does,
it's all, you know.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
How come they're all friends with each other? How come
they can't be friends with normal people too. I thought,
like growing up that I'd be friends with like Ben
a Flack or something like we'd be buddy call me
up and say, hey, you want to go get some
ice cream or something, and it just never happened.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
I don't understand, Mary, And when was the last time
you ever had a friend call up and say let's
go get ice cream?

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Is that a normal thing? And I'm the one missing
out here?

Speaker 5 (18:21):
I don't Wow.

Speaker 7 (18:23):
Yeah, I don't have across the street from a gelato place,
so I actually go relatively regular okay, okay, okay, I live.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Across the street from a Froio spot, but I don't go.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
Right, okay, see there, I mean we're split there. Mary's
on my team, Ian's on your team. But yeah, I
don't know, Arnie. Maybe if you hung out with them more,
you know, it scratched that that probably wouldn't help it.
All right, here's here's my takeaways just from the These
are the rumors slash notes I wrote down. All right, yeah,
this is one of the best running back classes we've

(18:53):
ever had.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Onnie, I'm gonna say it again so you're hear.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
This is one of the best and deepest running classes
we've ever had. I think I think we could see
multiple running backs go in the first round.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Now.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
There is not a single mock draft that you will
find that has more than one running back going in
the first round right now. And some have Ashton genty
going anywhere from six to the Raiders, twelve to the Cowboys.
I saw thirteen to your Miami Dolphins. But I think
there's gonna be a run on running backs.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
I thought he was these again one rumor go ahead
that he was going to be the second and running back.
Now taking mine Hampton, but I don't know really. That
was one rumor, so I thought maybe I sent it
to you.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Wait, so somebody actually, yeah, had put Marion Hampton the
North Carolina running back ahead of Ashton Genty. Yes, okay,
well then that proves my point. You know, in Hampton,
I really like Kaylee Johnson. I think he's really good
out of Iowa. Trayion Henderson tested well, Dylan Sampson, quinch

(20:06):
On Judkins.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
We'll see about Cam Scattabow, but I just like him.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
You just kind of brushed over he just did well.
I brushed over him only because he didn't run. And
I really felt like if he could have run and
at the very least been in the four five range,
then it would have shut a lot of people up,
or maybe the very least four to six. But he
doesn't run, and everyone's like, see, he's afraid to run
because he's so slow.

Speaker 5 (20:30):
It's the only reason I wouldn't mitch him. Listen, I'll
tell you who I like.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
He's my sleeper running back and that's uh Richard Smith
out of SMU. And I'm not just saying that because
I love the SMU.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
Tweeter to our.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
Show, right, it's not Nsson and why I think when
all of a sudden none, I think you could have
two to three running backs in up in the first
round and when that run comes on running backs, Arnie,
if it's the if it's the late first, early second,
I think you could see about three or four. You know,
we have those runs on a certain position where people see,

(21:03):
oh no, just two tackles went off the board. We
got to move them and get our guy. If that
run on running back starts early, I think you could
see people moving up to get him. But it's a
very deep running back class. Here's the second thing. Yeah,
I love this receiver class.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
I love it. I think in your boy Teo McMillan, Oh.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
He's just moving up like crazy, is he? His IQ
thing was just off the charge. They said it was coreact.

Speaker 3 (21:30):
I don't know if that's the same thing that everyone
else seems to feel right now.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Oh really, as you see him dropping, I think.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
The position in general is people aren't very impressed with it.
I am like if the Raiders took McMillan at six,
I'd be happy. I love Abuka out of Ohio State
is the kind of guy that goes to somewhere like
the Chiefs or the Chargers, and you look up in
three years and it's like, oh damn, that guy's made

(21:59):
two Pro Bowls right where. He doesn't wow you, and
he's not on the highlight film. But he's just consistently,
you know, eight catches a game, you know, six catches
one hundred and fifty yards.

Speaker 5 (22:08):
He's just he's good. Luthor.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Did I mention Luther Burn already? Matthew Golden, Yes, I
mentioned a Texas guy. I love this class. But apparently
I saw some people dumping on it a little bit, Arnie,
and that shocked me because they didn't feel like there
was a true number one in this draft. I I mean,
give me, give me, I feel good.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
I thought, if there was a true number one ever
wide receiver corp with.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Mcmail one and wide receiver will be interesting because I
don't know if the NFL guys like it as much
as I do. Shamar Stewart to me, if you want
to talk about dudes that were the biggest movers, there's
your guy and injured offensive lineman like Josh Simpson, Josh Simmons,
excuse me, I think those are going to be players

(22:54):
to keep an either's like three or four other injured
guys that could be early mid mid first round or
early second around guys that well, I guess you throw
Abdul Carter in here, the top pick of the draft
with his foot injury too. I think it's gonna be
really interesting over the next few weeks Arnie, to see
how these injured dudes are evaluated and what their stock
looks like.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Well, and one other guy, because you know who I'm following,
so you you probably know who I'm gonna bring him next.
Our kicker is absolutely impressing people like great, the Arizona kicker,
the Arizona Loop, I think his name is. He was
like fourteen to fifteen, was one of the top kicker,

(23:34):
was the top kicker Tyler Loop. Yeah he is. This
guy could kick. He'll kick like a seventy yarder in
the NFL game. He'll get drafted. I bet he gets
drafted in like a fourth fifth round because that's how
good he is.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
It's crazy leave it to Arnie Spaniard to have such
inside information on a kicker. But the only reason is
he's Arizona.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
I saw the I saw on Twitter where they graded
what the Arizona has were doing, so I was kind
of curious to see what was going on.

Speaker 7 (24:01):
The highest I can remember a kicker going, guys was
Jake Moody a few years ago in the third which
just hasn't worked.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
Oh Janetkowski, well, Janakowski was the first time that a
great point.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
I don't think Ian was born a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Yeah, my first dropped picked well worth it now right,
He certainly was wordy.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Moody was not though something he was not and it was.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
It was the Florida state kicker that was taken pretty.

Speaker 5 (24:23):
Sty am I going back way too.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
That's way too far. I forget his name.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
But we're a comedy live from the Tirack dot Com studio.
We want to make sure we remind you to check
out our Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. There's a ton

And be sure to subscribe so you always have instant
access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on the YouTube's

(24:50):
And Steve is Seger is there too, I think as
he comes rolling into the studio.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
On the YouTube everybody's are you on the YouTube's Steve?

Speaker 9 (24:59):
Why would I be on you?

Speaker 2 (25:00):
I don't know. If you're on and I'm not, I'd
be pretty bummed what.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
You're not in l a.

Speaker 9 (25:06):
He is, So what we enjoyed you last night? He says,
it's Arenie was.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
I knew.

Speaker 2 (25:15):
I knew they were going to get clobb. I knew
they were going to lose. Once I had the work,
I knew that.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
You not only had to sit there and watch your
team get beat, but you had to literally.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Just sit there and watch.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
It was killing me too. It was destroyed by the way.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
If you were talking about highly drafted kickers. Did I
hear the name Russell Erkslaven?

Speaker 1 (25:34):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (25:35):
The same? That's really going back Texas.

Speaker 2 (25:38):
Yeah, you're right about that.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
Goes back many a year. Of course, that was back
in the college football days where you could have basically
a little stand to.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Put the football on by the holder.

Speaker 9 (25:49):
With Tony Franklin and those guys John Lee back then.
And you could actually back in the eighties still kick
much higher, sometimes longer field goals because you didn't the
holder didn't have to actually put the point of the
football on the ground.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I mean, guy Was he a first round pick? Wasn't
he Ray Guy? First round? That's good question, well, hall
of Famer, But Ray Guy, I think you're right, Arnie. Yeah,
I think he was only stopped the show real quick
because Arnie decided to shift it from a kicker to
a punter. He was the twenty third pick in the
first round of the nineteen seventy three You go, Ray Guy,

(26:25):
that's right, there you go.

Speaker 9 (26:26):
And I assume the only punter in the.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Ever you are correct Football Hall of Fame.

Speaker 9 (26:32):
It's been a decade now, but yeah, And as far
as kickers in the Hall of Fame, I assume stener
Rude was the first from the.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
John Standard the Chiefs. That's right.

Speaker 9 (26:40):
Adam VINTERTERI still has the greatest kick I've ever seen made,
and that was in the snowball against the Raiders with
the tuck rule game.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Those are you said?

Speaker 3 (26:51):
That was what you're all about bringing up great memories
here tonight. Sega Arney's as on the team last night, he.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Said that was the kicker in the Hall of Fame?
Is that what you said?

Speaker 5 (26:58):
First?

Speaker 9 (26:58):
I think first, I think Stanner was the first.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
No, no, I'll tell you who was the first it was.

Speaker 9 (27:04):
I think George No, but as exclusive kicker.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Well look at that. You have to change it now? Well,
I mean I got a loop poland yet I made
I made you look silly, didn't. Yeah?

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Looks.

Speaker 9 (27:16):
By the way, Paul Horning probably would have been in
one of those great running back draft classes of all
time if you just go back. But of course, in
the older days, Pat Summerle's career was not exclusively as
a kicker.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
Correct. He had a high morton was quarterback.

Speaker 9 (27:30):
He used to play on the field and not just
the specialist kicker. Just like baseball, we have specialists as
closers now that didn't used to exist. Sports has changed people.
We've got two late games in the NBA and the
Lakers are leading with under six minutes to go against
the Clippers ninety nine to ninety. Luka Donsich with twenty
five points and nine assist Kawhi Leonard has scored thirty

(27:51):
for the Clips, who might be falling again to the Lakers.
Austin Reeves of the Lakers out tonight with a strained calf.
Norman Pale did play for the Clippers for a little bit.
He left early with a sore hamstring, and the other
late game has Minnesota leading with ten minutes to go
at Phoenix eighty eight seventy seven. Anthony Edwards thirty two points.
He'd been listed as questionable with a sore calf. Oklahoma

(28:13):
City's Jalen Williams scored forty one points in a win
at San Antonio one forty six to one thirty two,
and Cleveland won again ten straight victories for the Calves
had an overtime win over Portland one thirty three to
one twenty nine. New York came back for an overtime
win tonight at Miami one sixteen to one twelve. Boston
held off Denver today one ten to one oh three.

(28:35):
To college hoops. Just a week left in the men's
regular season, Michigan State one beating Wisconsin, but Michigan lost
at home by twenty to Illinois, so the Michigan Wolverines
are now gained back at the first place Spartans in
the Big Ten standings in women's hoops. Most teams ending
the regular season this weekend, Old Miss got a win
at number seven LSU NHL, overtime victories for Carolina against Calgary,

(29:00):
and an overtime win for Toronto at Pittsburgh. Christopher Bell
won the NASCAR race at Austin, Texas on the road
course before that, Also on Fox TV, the IndyCar season
opener went to alex Plow on the streets of Saint Petersburg, Florida.
And yes, the Jets are expected to cut wide receiver
Davonte Adams if they can't trade him back to you.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
Would you want to make a move for Davonte Adams
place like Miami? No, no, Green Bay back again?

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Maybe you know why there's going to be no take
if you.

Speaker 9 (29:28):
Can get him cheaply, My goodness, you talk?

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Would you not get him cheaply? If Deebo Samuels cost
a fifth round pick and Adams is more of a
capit and more of a salary head, not guaranteed, So
why am I going to give up more than a
fifth round pick. I won't give up anything for him. Goodbye, sorry, goodbye, Charlie.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Well you might not have to give up anything for
him if he gets caught, right.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Well, then that's all another story, right, yeah.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
Fair enough.

Speaker 3 (29:57):
I just that's part of the reason, and I'm trying
to I was reading a couple of different articles.

Speaker 9 (30:03):
One of them was he can't play or something.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
No, he was actually with a terrible quarterback two years ago.
He was really good with the Raiders.

Speaker 9 (30:11):
And a bad team last year.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
Two bad teams, right, and wasn't awful. He still got skills.

Speaker 3 (30:17):
But I almost think with the receiver class, even though
I like it the way people are talking about it,
I mean, there might be the Commander's just traded for
Deebo Samuel. Now I love Deebo Samuel, but they're eating
a lot of salary cap. They're giving up a fifth
round pick, that's it, and they could have drafted someone Arnie, right, I.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Mean, isn't that kind of your theory?

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Why would you go give up a pick or or
are cashed when you could just draft a guy and
kind of build him in your system.

Speaker 9 (30:45):
There's a wide receiver that Marvin Harrison Jr.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
You know, all right?

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Well you mentioned this year mill exactly exactly, Tteroral mcmill.
I mean Mecca a Mecca Buka or why can I
not say his name now?

Speaker 5 (30:58):
A Mecca Abuka. Yeah, a wide receiver out of ohouse.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
Isn't that kind of the theory that you've been selling
on this program instead of going and getting a guy
like Deebo Samuel.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Well, nobody wants to pay these wide receivers. How much
is justin Jefferson's making.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
Well, they want to pay him, they just don't want
to pay him after they suck.

Speaker 9 (31:15):
Right, Well, Cincinnati's gonna have to do something this week.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
I mean there's there's Well, they're gonna have to give
t Higgins money, there's there's no doubt.

Speaker 9 (31:23):
But still waiting for Chase to Chase.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Yeah, that's that's just too much money. When you're talking
what twenty five thirty million dollars a year for somebody
like Deebo, I couldn't do that. They did the right thing.
They got rid of him, They made sure that they
wouldn't have to pay him. They went in a different direction.
There's look that they're gonna get rid of by Juke. Also,
he's the next guy to go in San Francisco. Wave
him goodbye. Look, when you finish in the last place,

(31:47):
people have got to go, Salaries have got to get cut,
and you got a quarterback to worry about signing, So
you've better start making room right now.

Speaker 5 (31:54):
Well, I would disagree on one front.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
You don't have to just completely in total disintegrate your
roster because in last place, No.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
But you got to trim the fat, don't you.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Well, not necessarily, I mean why if you're now Deebo.
Samuel pretty much asked to be out, and the Niners like, okay,
we'll see you. I mean, what other moves are they making.
They might have to get a replacement for Trent Williams,
but he's going to be back. You're saying, trim the fat,
and that's one guy that's probably gonna be gone.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
No, I think is going to be gone. Also, I
didn't kill you know.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
He's not. They ate him last year.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
I listen, I know you hear Willard before we come on,
and all he talks about is San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (32:38):
I brought I brought this up last night when I
was filling in.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
You talked, here's the thing that I here's the thing
that I would be surprised by if they I mean,
who's your receivers?

Speaker 2 (32:48):
And in San Francisco, if you move on from Ayuk,
well obviously they'll have kittles, they'll they always rely at him.
Though I get the feeling that you know I may
move him, and you move him after a while too.
I mean, he'd be he's making a boatload of money.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Off the We're just gonna trade everyone that's getting paid
in San Francisco. It's like, we finished in last place.

Speaker 5 (33:09):
I want to get rid of everybody right now.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
I don't know if you realized that they finished in
the last place. They do have what Pier saw right,
the one who got first draft pick, that's right last year.
And I know they got Jawan Jennings, who's pretty good.
I know they do like him, So some of these
young guys are gonna have to step up. You don't
have to pay him a boatloader, right right, right, right, right,

(33:32):
right right.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
I get what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
I just this is also a team that is two
years of from being in the NFC champion.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
You know, Jennings had one hundred and thirteen targets last year.
I didn't even know that much. Wow, that's great.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Well yeah, are you getting hurt Debo being in and out?
Piersauw wasn't in for half the season. They didn't have
a lot of options last year besides him and Kittles.
So I just I don't think they're gonna move on
from uh everybody and just rebuild. I think they find
like they still have a where they can compete.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
I will bet you that they trade ayuk, I bet
you he's the next gone out of San Francisco.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
Listen, I'm not what are you gonna bet you? I'll
bet you my job.

Speaker 3 (34:09):
Okay, really no, I'm just saying I don't make these
stupid bets because I have no idea. But it just
seems a little bit pointless when you're looking at a
team that still feels like it has a Super Bowl window.
When you look at their defense. I mean, Nick Bose
is back right, Drake Greenlaw is gonna be healthy this year?
Is he going in with Fred Warner? They've got They've

(34:30):
got an absolute all world secondary. So why would you
suddenly say get rid of everybody?

Speaker 5 (34:35):
We suck?

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Williams is gonna be back to your final year? Well one,
it's certainly gonna trim a lot of money. It's gonna
open that up in case you want to go in
a different direction, in case you want to sign a
Devonte Adams for one year, that could be a possibility,
so you're not tied into the long term there. You
could always draft one and you can always use that
money because you know you do have a quarterback to
sign and also kind of solidify some of those holes

(34:58):
that JAD during last year, So you can use that
money in many different ways.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
Yeah, but they're taking on thirty one million dollars in
debt cap space this year.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
That that, you know, I don't know how you could
rework that.

Speaker 5 (35:10):
You can't.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
You're talking another language to me when you say stuff.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Like, well, so I'm speaking this other language. Yeah, that's
laying out why what you're saying is crazy talk.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
Well I asked you, then let me ask you this.
When Deebo got traded, you have to think why would
San Francisco take a thirty one million dollar cap hit
and trade him for just a fifth round pick. They
must have really thought that this guy is not worth it,
that he's passed his prime and we don't want him.
I mean, that's that's a big cap hit to take

(35:40):
for somebody like that.

Speaker 3 (35:41):
Well, they also got a fifth round pick, and maybe
that's the highest draft pick they could possibly get for him,
and they had to eat that amount of money to
get them.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
I don't think they just took the first offer. They
think that was the best offer they had. I think
that's crazy. You get to tell me that there was
nobody in the NFL that said we'll give you a two,
number five, a number five, and the number six next year.
That no book was creative. I think not hard to believe.

Speaker 5 (36:06):
I think it's true.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
You think that they want to take a better, better
deal for him and hand them off to a contender
that just went to the NFC Championship Game. They got
the best deal for him that was out there. It's
crazy and he can't stay healthy. All right, when we
come back, we'll get to your tweets next. That's Aarny
on Plank coming to you live from the tyrack dot
Com studios.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
It's Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (36:30):
You know this is a good question, Arnie, it's a
good question here from Happy for Live.

Speaker 5 (36:35):
Yeah, does it count.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
As a one hit wonder if it's a cover song
like Red red Wine? And of course this one by
you Be forty? So would you Be forty be considered
a one hit wonder? Or, as Mary brought up during
the break, one of the greatest cover bands of all one.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Hit wonder, one hit wonder? All right, I always bring
up the one hit wonders.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
All right, Well, so are you gonna put are you
going to add to you be forty to that?

Speaker 2 (37:02):
I don't know. I'm not big and you don't even
know what this. That's the band that's doing this soft Yeah,
I know I figured that out, Thank you. I figured
that far out. You want to hit some tweets here? Yeah,
we're getting a lot. Yeah, we got a little.

Speaker 5 (37:13):
Time before the top of the hour.

Speaker 8 (37:14):
Should we address that one tweet?

Speaker 2 (37:16):
Which one tweet?

Speaker 8 (37:17):
And the one tweet that's saying that me and you
are married?

Speaker 5 (37:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Did you see that last night?

Speaker 5 (37:21):
No?

Speaker 2 (37:21):
I didn't see that last night.

Speaker 8 (37:23):
Yeah, yeah, No, he got two day last night.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Yeah, I missed.

Speaker 3 (37:26):
I was going through to find the tweets for the show,
so I have a process. I go through my mentions
and sometimes you guys will only tag me, so I
see those sometimes you'll only tag Arnie and I want
to make sure everyone has equal opportunities here. And as
I did, I saw a tweet from Mary that caused
me to click a little deeper. And Jason had had
asked if you and and Arnie were married, Mary, and

(37:48):
that was kind of a little shocking.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
I thought it a Mary to Shador Sanders.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
She wanted to screaming because it'd be the happiest day
of her life. I'm a very good looking guy, right, Mary,
you know you should.

Speaker 8 (38:00):
You would ship me back to Africa, and.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
I'd like you to be my boyfriend. We got married.
This is Arnie, you would be so I think she
would cry.

Speaker 8 (38:11):
Honestly, I think she would, and I wouldn't be tears
of joy.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Chris, you just see me. In college. Women always were
coming up to me hitting on me.

Speaker 6 (38:19):
It was my mom was married to a man who
was the ambassador of Sudan. So I don't think she
would like you. I'll go deeper than that. I don't
think she would fall for a white guy.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Well you never know. I mean, Arnie is dashing. He
used to have long hair.

Speaker 8 (38:35):
Like a banana on National TV.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Okay, Brendan, right, there are four quarterbacks in the draft
that I would call good cam Word, shod Or Sanders,
Jackson Dart and Jalen Milroe. None of them are future
Hall of famers. But if I'm the Raiders, I draft
one of these four, I'm good with Warden Sanders at six.

(38:59):
If they get Dark mill Row in the second round,
I'd feel the.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Only thing I really disagree on is. Actually think that
that was a golden opportunity to really take a chance,
little risk, a lot of reward when you could take
a quarterback in the third, fourth, fifth round. I don't
know where these guys are gonna go, but yours will, Howard,
Dylan Gabriel, those three particularly, I would love to have

(39:24):
in like the third, fourth, fifth round and take a
shot at those three.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
I would love nothing more than to see where Dylan
Gabriel ends up. You're not a fan of ye, No,
I would love to see Dylan Gabriel end up in
a place where he can play, because I think he's
got a chance to be really good.

Speaker 5 (39:42):
But it's got to be in the right system, you know.
I don't think you can.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
You got to make sure you put him in a
system kind of like Jalen Hurts is in at Philly.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
Right. It's different than what most people run.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
But I just if Gabriel's in the right system, I
think he can be really good pretty quick, Carney, And
I'll tell you where that system is.

Speaker 5 (39:58):
I think it's your boy in Miami.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Now.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
You're not drafting.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Milroe or excuse me, Dylan Gabriel to replace two or anything.
But I just you know, maybe later rounds because you're
still into backup right or do you like Snoop Huntley
or whatever his name is, that's your guy, all right,
our one of the books. When we come back, more
on the combine. But Arnie's got NBA on his mind
and Lebron and his crossair is next on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 5 (40:28):
This is Do you have a name for this hour?

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Uh? The pre Power Hour?

Speaker 5 (40:34):
Look ah, I like it the Happy Hour? Maybe?

Speaker 2 (40:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (40:36):
Uh thinking genius Arnie Spaniel.

Speaker 3 (40:38):
I'm Chris Blank and as always, we're coming to you
live from the ti rack dot com studios. Tire rack
dot com will help you get there an unmatched selection,
fast tree shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire
buying shit. I do.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
I do have a bit of uh not trivia. I'm
down a fact about the Oscars.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
You may not know, but I'm not gonna lie. I
haven't seen any of the movie.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
You don't have to see any of the move Okay.
The fact is, if you win the oscar, you cannot
sell it.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
If you win an Oscar, you can't sell it? You wait,
you can or you can't you cannot. I mean, why
would you want to sell it?

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Well, some people, you know, why would you want to
sell a Super Bowl ring? Some people do that also true?
True the money obviously. Maybe somebody's like, I'm so anti Hollywood.
I don't what you're establishment any war here. I'm going
to sell my oscar or something.

Speaker 5 (41:41):
So you know me, you know me. I've got a
lot of questions here on a very simple point, how
can they track it?

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Well, that's a good point too.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
I mean, are they constantly looking at the ebays and
I don't know what predated Facebook?

Speaker 5 (41:57):
What was it?

Speaker 3 (41:57):
Craigslist? Is list still a thing? Is Craig's still out
there with his list? How could they monitor that?

Speaker 2 (42:04):
Well, then I'll ask you. I'll tie it to another
one of my Roman numerals right now?

Speaker 5 (42:08):
Uh oh?

Speaker 2 (42:09):
How do they monitor Roman numeral number six?

Speaker 5 (42:12):
Uh oh? Did I write packers?

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (42:14):
Because it's all digital now.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
But by the way, Roman numeral six the agreement packers
are not going to sell the tickets anymore. I renew
them for people that don't go to games and sell
their tickets on secondary marketplaces.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
So how would they know, Chris, If I have a
pair of tickets, that's right, and I gave them to you.

Speaker 5 (42:35):
Are they saying you would have to transfer them to
my phone?

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Now, Oh, because I don't have the physical tickets as well.

Speaker 5 (42:42):
That's right, there's no such I don't know.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
My alma mater, the University of Tulsa last year was
the first time I've gone to a place in three
years that had a physical ticket where they gave you
the ticket and you had to have that ticket for
a major sporting event. You're basically paperless everywhere, so that's
how that's how they'd be able to track it. You
a with that, No, I think it's your you bought

(43:07):
the tickets, if they got handed down to you from
generation to generation, that's fine. I think.

Speaker 5 (43:11):
I think Green Bay and other Vegas can't say anything.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
The Rams can't say anything because you know you're gonna
have your stadium taken over by the opposing teams.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
It makes you mad.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
So now I think they're getting exactly in Las Vegas
and Los Angeles. But I think part of it is
they're getting mad seeing all the Detroit Lions fans that
are at their games and how they're getting in there.
I get why they want to do it, but I
mean having Green Bay Packets packet, having Green Bay Packer
season tickets, I assume are some sort of lifelong dream.

Speaker 5 (43:44):
I don't know, hand me down.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
So however it is, so I get the Packers side
of it, but it's their tickets. They bought them. They
can do without what they want.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
One caveat. Maybe I'm wrong on the story. They're not
renewing the season ticket holders that don't go to any
of the games. As woman I understood where they sell
them all. I don't know if maybe you go to
one or two that's good enough. I have no idea,
but they're they're really cracking out on that. I don't
know if that I didn't know that was a problem
up there in Green Bay.

Speaker 3 (44:10):
I didn't either, And I wonder how many people that effects.
This was first reported by Rob Dmofski of ESPN said
the Packers had the Packers had started canceling the season
tickets of those who sold one hundred percent of their
tickets for multiple years.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Okay, one so every game? Then wow.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
The reclaimed season ticket rights will be offered to fans
on the team's waiting list and of course, nowadays, this
is this is the context from Pro Football Talk. Nowadays,
the act of scalping tickets has gone legit. Reselling it
a profit is commonplace. And while the teams have been
able to directly and are indirectly get a piece of

(44:53):
the action, the packers don't want their season ticket holders
to be season ticket brokers.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
So here's the You can make a lot of money,
I assume if you have Oh my gosh, when I had,
I had friends of mine that used to buy Thunder
tickets and they would be able to resell them and
make so much money, Arnie, whenever a big time team
would come through.

Speaker 3 (45:16):
Now, I mean, and now you know, it's just they're
they're they're good again, so all the tickets are bought up.
But yeah, you can make it, especially in Green Bay,
a place like that where it's always viewed. It is
so hard to get tickets anyway, I tod.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
I've told you this before. Before I got married, Beth
had won the NBA Lottery All Star Game and Say
I'm Dunk contest in Phoenix. She got tickets for that,
and we were offered I think twenty five hundred or
three thousand dollars back then, and she goes, what do
you want to do? Do you want to go or
and we can enjoy it, or do you want to
just sell the tickets and keep the money? I go

(45:52):
sell them, man, three thousand dollars. That's a lot of
money to start our marriage. Or are you crazy? Let's
get the money?

Speaker 3 (45:59):
Yeah, I know you always want the experience, right, I mean.

Speaker 2 (46:06):
Cash, let's go. That was like thirty years ago. Think
about that's a lot of money back then. Gee.

Speaker 5 (46:11):
Yeah, they and now even more.

Speaker 3 (46:14):
I guess intriguing, And I'm gonna be the first one
to to I don't know how it works, but they
have ticket resale places within like the app. So for instance,
I'm an o U season ticket holder, and if I
want to resell my tickets, I mean just you know,
basically through Oklahoma, I can resell them and I think
they probably get a little chunk of that and I
get my money back for the most part.

Speaker 5 (46:35):
So yeah, I don't know, Arnie.

Speaker 3 (46:37):
It's it's fascinating if you're at a point where you
know there's two or three places where constantly the ticket
is going to other teams fans. I could see where
you're like this person doesn't want these tickets, Just get
them out of here, right, So just full circle there.
I'm I'm not surprised by it by any stretch of
the imagination.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
It's you know again, you were like, Hey, it's my tickets.
I should be able to do what I want with them.
But I certainly see where they're coming from, you know.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
Coming up here on our next segment, I do want
to talk a little bit about the NBA Games tonight,
which is like a crazy concept, but I did hear
you talking a little bit last night about the Lebron
James take, and we spent a lot of time on
Friday Night Show talking about it. You know, I don't
necessarily disagree with the idea that it would suck to

(47:28):
be the face of the league. Now, I'd be willing
to give it a shot for that kind of talent
and that kind of money. He's been the face of
the league, and I think he's done a pretty incredible
job of being the face of the league. Has Lebron James,
he realizes that time's coming to an end, I think,
And I didn't have a problem with what he said
this week.

Speaker 5 (47:47):
Already said it for you in a bit, But what
were your initial thoughts. I, you.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
Know, it makes me always wonder and it seemed like
Lebron was mad or you know, especially because they're making
quite the run they're gonna you know, they're the number
two seed now in their conference, which I actually predicted
last week. I said they're they're gonna go on a
little bit of a run. I always the Luca trade
was phenomenal on that. But I'm like, are we doing
him right? Here's a guy, you know, we he's never

(48:13):
really gotten in trouble we're talking about, you know, off
the court, and he you know, you know, any problems
with the law or anything like that, that's never been
a problem, never been accused of anything, always been a
model guy. Sure, sometimes we don't like his politics, or
we don't like his ego, or you know, the way
he announced that TV show thing where he was going next.

(48:36):
You know, stuff could bother us some you know, and
and and stuff like that. But I feel like we're
too hard on Lebron. He is the biggest superstar in
any sport that the media treats. I can't I can't
think of a bigger superstar or on his level that
we treat worse than Lebron James, to be honest with you,
and I don't think he really deserves all that negative

(48:57):
stuff coming at him.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
Well, and I think the funny thing about it all
was no, I mean obviously no ill will towards Stephen A. Smith,
but immediately he couldn't wait to make it about him, right,
and and how how soft of you? And I think
to myself, you.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Know, Lebron takes a lot and he does take go out.

Speaker 5 (49:16):
Yeah, I mean he takes.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
I don't agree with everything he said. Look, I don't
agree with that whole you know somebody wrote on his
on his garage. Oh yeah, right, I don't believe that,
but you know, hey, it's life. Goes on and we
move on and we go on to the next He's
always been a model guy. Like I said, you don't
have to agree with his politics, but he's never done
anything to really embarrass the NBA and already say.

Speaker 10 (49:39):
You don't want it, Yeah, any time to deal with it,
and uh, I meane, Channy Fry said it the other
day too, like, I mean, it's.

Speaker 5 (49:47):
Unfortunate, but like I.

Speaker 10 (49:52):
Don't know, when, why do you want to be the
face of the league when all the all to put
all the people that you know that cover our game
and talk about our game on the day to day
set on everybody, and I mean, have that responsibility. That's
it's just weird. It's weird energy from the people that.

Speaker 2 (50:09):
You know.

Speaker 10 (50:09):
I don't know, but changing he said it, he said
it perfectly. Couldn't set it no better. But ant said
he don't want it.

Speaker 2 (50:16):
I didn't.

Speaker 10 (50:16):
I mean, obviously I didn't ask for it, but I
knew there was a responsibility for me not only to
my family, my friends, my community, and and and whoever
that was gonna follow my my my journey throughout my career,
not only in Ohio when I started there, but all
all over America and all over the world when.

Speaker 5 (50:36):
I traveled all over the world.

Speaker 10 (50:37):
So I've always taken that seriously and understand and understood
from the beginning what what being a professional was all
about and being a role model was all about. So
I tried to hold that with the utmost uh respect
and honor.

Speaker 7 (50:53):
And but.

Speaker 10 (50:56):
I feel an I understand, and I completely understand.

Speaker 5 (50:59):
This is weird energy when it comes to that. Yeah,
I couldn't agree with them more.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
We don't have weird energy with Mahomes though, do we
We don't go ahead and treat him like that, do we?

Speaker 3 (51:09):
You think we don't bash on his his voice, his voice,
make fun of his his brother or his wife.

Speaker 5 (51:16):
I mean, come on, dude, he gets it. Just it's
different and it's too Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
I think I think, you know, NBA is a little different.
I mean, maybe maybe we're talking apples and oranges, but
I get it, like we're in the fruit section here,
so it's not like to add different apples and oranges
are fruits, right. The point is, I don't think anything
he said there was out of line or wrong.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
No, not at all. No, not. I agree with most
of it out there.

Speaker 5 (51:44):
I totally do. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (51:45):
All right, well, when we come back to the Tirack
dot Com studios, I do think that there is more
than just this Lebron saga.

Speaker 5 (51:53):
And I also I will say this.

Speaker 3 (51:55):
You know, Di Sega gave you the final score at
the top of the hour the Lakers beat the Clippers tonight.
They've made around there now the two seed. I kind
of feel like that's the most we've heard from him
since the Luca trade. I'm not gonna say he's taking
a back seat by any stretch of the imagination. But
I mean, Arnie doesn't it doesn't It seem kind of
curious that it has been somewhat quiet out of Lebron

(52:19):
James since the Luca Trader. I'm not saying anything negative,
and I'm not saying he's somehow taking a back seat.
It's just that's the most Lebron buzz that we've had,
and a lot of it has been about what's.

Speaker 2 (52:31):
Going on in the court since the All Star Game.
I really didn't notice that. I mean, maybe I'm wrong,
maybe he's enjoying the run or whatever it is. Luca
had twenty nine tonight. His plus minus is always through
the roof. He's carrying, and I was gonna say he's
carrying the team. He's not carrying the team, but he
was that piece that they needed. The trade they made

(52:54):
with him and Anthony Davis, they never would have been
this good, never would have hit the number two seed
with AD. It was just ever going to happen. The
sky's the limit once they got Luca, and I said that,
I just love what Luca brings to this team. And
as long as Lebron can share the ball, they're gonna
be fine.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
Yeah, And it's there's always going to be more with
Lebron than just a game, because he is the face
of the league and he's and he's been that for
a while. Now we're moving on. But it's just I
don't know that that's there's a part of me that
whenever he was asked about it, he's answering a question.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Jogic doesn't want to be the face of the league.
That guy just wants he wants to go home. He
wants to go home on the first flight out of
town as soon as that guy gets eliminated. Giannis really
doesn't want to be the face of the league. He's
he said that before. Anthony Edwards has also said that before.
You can't really say Wembiyama. But now that he's heard,

(53:50):
you know, you'll have to put that on hold. Who
knows who's going.

Speaker 3 (53:53):
To be the one to take on over after this,
but you know what I will say this, you don't
want the guy to be the face of the league.
That could be a great face the league, and that's
obviously shake Hill just Alexander, but I mean he plays
for the Thunder, so obviously they don't matter because they're
in Oklahoma City.

Speaker 5 (54:09):
There's there's that's a great right there.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
I'm joke it. You get so mad when I say that.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
I know, I'm just saying. I think that everyone's so
quick to dismiss it. Dude's gonna be the m v P.
I think he'd be great if you just paid a
little bit more attention.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
You know who's online to right now? Who's that that
the NBA is saying we hope Oklahoma City and Cleveland
don't make the NBA Finals. You know what this this
text just came in and I want to I'm watching
to know I'm serious. I'm not kidding around. Oklahoma City, Cleveland,
one seeds in the conference, Boston and the Lakers. Two seeds,

(54:44):
the Knicks or a three seed. Who do you think?
Who do you think the NBA wats dive of the finals?

Speaker 3 (54:51):
Chris?

Speaker 5 (54:51):
You tell me, uh, the best teams?

Speaker 3 (54:54):
No Boloney, a blow teams, A Blowell don't want the
Knicks because they can't beat anybody, So that'll make.

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Lakers they want, they want the Lakers, Celtics, anything other
than Cleveland and Oklahoma City.

Speaker 5 (55:08):
Well, it's not like the Knicks are tearing it up
TV ratings.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
It well, still still better than so this text that
we just got in, says from Happy for Life seven.
The weird energy is coming from the dying corpse of
the league formerly known as the NBA. Fans want a
reason to come back and watch. Finding a new face
of the league is one way we're hoping that will happen.

Speaker 5 (55:34):
That is all. Wow, Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
All right, we'll get a break when we come back
back to the combine, back to a little bit of
NFL talk because Roman numerals one through five are all
about free agency. And here we are an hour and
fifteen minutes in and we haven't talked about the big
news from Friday and Matthew Stafford staying with the Rams.

Speaker 5 (55:53):
It's already in plank on Fox Sports Radio. All right.

Speaker 3 (55:58):
It's aarny in plank coming to your life from Thetirack
dot Com studios. Hey, you can stream this show and
all the Fox Sports Radio content you love twenty four
to seven in the new and approved iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 5 (56:11):
It's what I use.

Speaker 3 (56:11):
Search Fox Sports Radio in the app to stream us live.
And one of the cool features is you can select
Fox Sports Radio is one of your presets, kind of
like you have in your car on your radio dial.
So be sure to preset Fox Sports Radio on the
iHeartRadio app and it will always pop up at the
top of your screen. Have you tried that out yet?
It's pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
I'm not tried. You know. Usually we have Todd Ferman
here and we talk about gambling.

Speaker 5 (56:34):
I want you to know this.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
I'm making a promise. Everybody knows. I have that bet
for a ten thousand to win Arizona winning the championship
in basketball to the New York Knicks to win the
NBA Championship.

Speaker 5 (56:46):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
I feel pretty good about the Knicks, a little a
little worried about my Arizona Wildcats if I win the
ten thousand or when I win the ten thousand, putting
in the whole thing on Washington commanders to win the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (57:00):
So let me go ahead and get this straight.

Speaker 3 (57:02):
Yeah, you right now have a pick for Arizona to
win the National Championship in basketball and the Knicks to
win the National Championship the name title in the NBA Final.

Speaker 5 (57:16):
Yeah yeah, And you feel better about the Knicks than
you do Arizona.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
Well, Arizona, you know they've lost we lost four of
our last six.

Speaker 5 (57:24):
What is the Knicks done against good teams.

Speaker 2 (57:28):
Against the Oklahoma Cities and the Cleveland's not so well,
but we could deal with that. When the playoffs come
around against everybody else, we're just kicking everybody else's butt.

Speaker 5 (57:36):
Again.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
The teams that will matter when you're trying to cast
your bet are those good teams. You don't get to
catch that bet for winning a first round game series.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
We only have to worry about it when we, you know,
get to the Eastern Conference finals if they're still around
and they don't chok. But once I win the ten thousand,
I feel good. And then I'm gonna put it all
on the Commanders stuff, and then the ten thousand we'll
bring me back two hundred thousand.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
Okay, So the Commander's over to one over the defending
World Series champion are this World Series Super Bowl champion
Eagles that have the Chiefs who will be back and
probably pretty good going Commanders.

Speaker 2 (58:17):
Yeah, I'm getting great odds. I love them now. They're
you know, ever since the trade. I'm just love I
can't believe that the odds are so you get maybe
twenty three to one if you shop it around a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (58:29):
So right now, according to FanDuel, whom I have pulled
up right in front of my fat face. The number
one favorite is the Philadelphia Eagles at plus six hundred,
plus six fifty for the Chiefs. The Niners have better
odds than your Commanders.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
I have the Ravens are plus six fifty two, and
then the Bills after that. I think, well, the Ravens
are now plus seven hundred. Okay, see, you've got right.

Speaker 3 (58:53):
This is according This isn't my division champion, this isn't
conference to this is super Bowl. Okay, right, Eagles, Chiefs, Ravens, Bills,
Lions forty nine, Ers, Bengals yep.

Speaker 5 (59:07):
And then the Commanders at plus two thousand.

Speaker 2 (59:09):
That's amazing, absolutely amazing.

Speaker 5 (59:12):
But it's just this is all on the Neebo Samuel trade.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Well, now they got that extra weapon and now they
have to look. I know they were and I was
talking about this with VJ. I was a called surprise
when VJ told me that the third best rushing team
in the NFL. I said, well, that's because they have
a running quarterback. But their quarterback doesn't run like Lamar Jackson.
I can't put him in arms way, you know, running the.

Speaker 5 (59:33):
Ball like that.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
They've got to get themselves a running back that could
take up a lot of the grinding. That could be good,
and that's what they're really missing. If you like the
running back class in his draft, that's what they're gonna
have to look at.

Speaker 5 (59:45):
What was he what was he basing it on? Was
it just total yards?

Speaker 2 (59:49):
I think it was total yards?

Speaker 9 (59:50):
He said?

Speaker 5 (59:51):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Yeah, total yards. They're third behind the Eagles and the Ravens.
That would have shocked me.

Speaker 2 (59:55):
I didn't see that coming because I really don't think
they had a constant back other you know, their quarterback
running the ball. What he was their big running back.
That's not bad, arn't he?

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
I just I don't know if I would be that
hell bit on it where I would turn my ten
grand that you're not going to win anyway to.

Speaker 5 (01:00:14):
Go put it all on the Commanders. Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:00:17):
Well, I mean, do you want to talk about the
Arizona Wildcats? I mean we can do that too if
you like.

Speaker 3 (01:00:22):
I mean, because you did I think the words were
that junior college team that we're going to play when
you were talking about who was it?

Speaker 5 (01:00:29):
Was it Iowa State? The beat you?

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Yeah, I alway say we've spent them split against them?

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
So yeah, you split and what did it take on
your home courts? Even gets overtime, took a half court
shot to get there. Are you getting excited about?

Speaker 5 (01:00:41):
Listen?

Speaker 3 (01:00:42):
You're a Homer and all you know or care about
is Arizona and I get it. But are you getting
a little bit excited about March mandess? Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:00:48):
Absolutely, it's actually week started.

Speaker 3 (01:00:50):
Next week is conference Championship week?

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
No, it started today, I think in the A sun, the.

Speaker 5 (01:00:57):
Oh, all the listen, what are you trying to do?
What are you talking?

Speaker 2 (01:01:01):
I'm sorry, no, no, no, I I get it. You
couldn't care less about these leagues. No, I do love
the conference tournaments. In those when they get to the finals,
those when I.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Know I was gonna say you care about them, and
then you want to you want them to win a
first round game, and then you don't want to see
him again?

Speaker 5 (01:01:17):
Right right right?

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
I want to see that. You know, I'll go. I'll
go to the Vermont game if they end up getting
to the conference finals and a chance to get into
the NCAA Tournament.

Speaker 3 (01:01:27):
Just so we're clear, mid major conference is starting this week,
Big ten, ACC, Big twelve, Big East two, am I
leaving out SEC all next week. The final regular season
game for most Power Conference teams is next Saturday, and
some of these other leagues are starting this week, and
at least women's basketball is starting this week too, So

(01:01:48):
there you go, and you've got a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:01:50):
So the a Sun Tournament is starting this week on
the me inside started today, I believe. Really yeah, like
seven against ten, eight against nine. Gosh, they're not messing
around this week.

Speaker 1 (01:02:01):
So no.

Speaker 2 (01:02:02):
And then it's the weird in the Big Twelve, you
have to be like a one through four seed and
then you get to buy all the way to the
quarter finals where some teams have to play like three
games before they get to you. Well that's how it
isn't about every conference now that is well, yeah, because
there's so many teams because you.

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
Got sixteen in the Big Twelve, you got sixteen in
the SEC one A, they're eighteen and the Big ten.

Speaker 5 (01:02:22):
So I mean that's kind of the it's kind of
the lay of the land anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
The days of like you know, being like a twelve
seed in your conference and making a little bit of
a run and getting to the conference tournament, those days
are gonna be over because you're just so up against
the wall because you have to win like five or
I think like five games while everybody else has to
win like three or two. Didn't AC Didn't North Carolina
State just do this last year? Did they?

Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
I think so either last year or the year before
where they had to play on that first day and
the next thing you know, they ended up in the
conference championship game.

Speaker 5 (01:02:57):
Think they ended up winning the damn thing and going
to the tournament. So, I mean, I know, listen to.

Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
Shows play to make me look stupid, Well, the show's
tonight so and again. In fairness, that happened a long
time ago, so it doesn't matter right a whole last year.
But I mean, you're ready to just get rid of
You're already dumping on the lower ranked teams.

Speaker 5 (01:03:17):
You're like, oh, they don't have a chance, They're never
gonna do it again.

Speaker 2 (01:03:20):
I was like, as long as you're in the top four,
your odds are just phenomenal because you really save yourself
on game time.

Speaker 5 (01:03:29):
How that go in college football?

Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
Though, not a single one of the teams that had
a first round buying playoffs ended up winning. For those
of you, I noticed Saga doesn't have a ton of
time in his updates. So today in the a Sun
Austin p and Central Arkansas both advanced.

Speaker 5 (01:03:48):
For North Florida in stats and I just have his pack.

Speaker 9 (01:03:50):
Actually I did look it up. In Central Arkansas was
four and fourteen in conference. But they're still alive.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
People, they could still make the Big Dance, all right,
area Steve de Sega.

Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
With everything that's trending in the world of sports, what's
going on, Steve?

Speaker 9 (01:04:04):
So it means next Sunday we'll have conference title games
like in the Atlantic Sun Conference, the Big South as well.
Next Sunday Missouri Valley Conference championship game. They ended their
regular season today with Drake which went seventeen and three
in league play, needing overtime to beat Missouri State which
went two and eighteen. And we've also got Summit League

(01:04:27):
championship next Sunday. And as far as teams getting buys,
which I understand why conferences do that. You might have
one team that could do damage in the national tournament.
Why sacrifice them in some early round game. The West
Coast Conference has been doing this multiple byes for their
good teams whatever like Gonzaga for.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
You go straight to the finals every year. They don't
have to play any games.

Speaker 9 (01:04:50):
So they're going to have next Sunday West Coast Conference
quarterfinals team like Gonzaga and Saint Mary's. They're not playing
any of those first four rounds of the conference tournament
over the next week in Las Vegas.

Speaker 5 (01:05:02):
They're really protecting him now, very much so.

Speaker 9 (01:05:05):
By the way, Colorado lost again two and sixteen in
the Big Twelve Conference, beaten by Kansas State, notable for
the Big Ten. With one week left in the regular season,
Michigan lost at home. Michigan State won at home the
eighth rank Spartans seventy one sixty two over eleventh ranked
Wiscods and Badgers on three pointers were five for thirty two.
Spartans were trailing by two at the half, but did

(01:05:27):
win by nine, and Michigan's now a game behind first
place Michigan State in the Big Ten standings. Next Sunday
to end at Michigan at Michigan State, Fifteenth ranked Michigan
Wolverines lost at home by twenty to Illinois today ninety
three seventy three, and Illinois was only up by one
at the half. Michigan from three point range four of eighteen,

(01:05:48):
so the Wolverines have now lost to Illinois nine straight times.
Eighteenth ranked Memphis was down eleven in the first half
but came back to win at UAB eighty eight eighty one.
Memphis is fourteen and two in the American Conference. In
the NBA's late game, the Lakers won again. This is
six straight victories.

Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (01:06:07):
Sixteen wins in their last nineteen games.

Speaker 5 (01:06:11):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (01:06:11):
Lakers beat the Clippers again. That's twice this weekend one
oh two. The final Luka donsich twenty nine points. Lebron
James in his career regular season plus playoff games is
one point shy of fifty thousand in his long career,
literally at forty nine nine to ninety nine after tonight.

(01:06:33):
This was win number one thousand of his regular season
NBA career, Lebron James's top five in that category. He
would need to play a couple more seasons to pass
Kareem for number one in total wins in the regular season.
Minnesota got forty four points from Anthony Edwards in a
victory at Phoenix. Oklahoma City got forty one points from
Jalen Williams in a win at San Antonio. New York

(01:06:56):
came back to win an overtime at Miami Cleveland got
an overtime win again. It's Portland. The Cabs have won
ten straight. Boston beat Denver today, NHL overtime wins for
Carolina and Toronto. The IndyCar season opener went to Alex
Pillow and then also on Fox TV, Christopher Bell won
the NASCAR race at Austin, Texas. And I know a

(01:07:16):
certain co host of this show has mentioned, you know,
Christopher Bell was born in Norman, Oklahoma, Dorman product Baby.
I did think of you, Chris when I heard the
radio call of this race today in Texas, and the
call was a Sooner takes the trophy in Austin.

Speaker 5 (01:07:33):
That's what I'm talking about. What about that lady, Well,
Joharnavon he.

Speaker 9 (01:07:39):
Kiss up to the NFL oute In case you didn't
hear NFL network saying the Jets are expected to cut
wide receiver Davante Adams if they can't trade him back
to you.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Thanks Steve de Seger, and Arnie immediately does not want
Davante Adams as a dolphin. You'd have all the old
guys there, Tyree, DeVante, I.

Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
Don't want him, we don't need him, to be honest
with you, I don't know what do you think, what
do you think he ends up? Think it could be
in San Francisco. There could be a possibility ends up
back with the Raiders, isn't there No?

Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
I think that ship sailed. I think now the Raiders
are going to be a team that's out after a
number one receiver. I think they if they fall in
love with Tero McMillan, I wouldn't be surprised if they
took him at six.

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
If the team needs a wide receiver, and you're they're
a good quality team, why wouldn't you want then Devonte Adams?
So no, I would Why isn't Kansas City going after him?
Who says they aren't?

Speaker 7 (01:08:37):
You guys don't think he and Rodgers are a package deal?
Wherever they end up with the New York Giants or something?

Speaker 5 (01:08:43):
No could be? Why not?

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Why are you so quick to dismiss that. I think
Ian's got an interesting point. I would be could it
be in New Orleans? You know him and Derek carrent
with with Kellen Moore get back together. I think he
wants to play with one of those two guys. And
I think that the Raiders screwed it up because they
hied that train wreck of a coach and Josh McDaniels,

(01:09:06):
who tried to treat the locker room like it's I
don't know, college.

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
They were taking guys phones away from them. I mean,
what are we doing? I think I'm with in on this.

Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
So you wouldn't like a veteran presence like Davonte Adams
if Aaron Rodgers ended up with the Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:09:20):
I mean, obviously it depends on the money as long
as it's not an attitude. For some reason, I feel
like all the.

Speaker 5 (01:09:28):
Every good take he starts to get into you got
cut off again. Gohad.

Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
I feel like all that poor Arnie kind of comes
across on Devonte Adams too.

Speaker 5 (01:09:37):
For some reason you cut off. So some of the
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Negativity kind of plays off on the Devonte Adams one.

Speaker 5 (01:09:46):
Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Speaker 3 (01:09:49):
Have you changed looking at Roman numeral number two your
opinion on where Aaron Rodgers is gonna hit up next?
Because last week it was the Rams telling Matthew Stafford
to go find a trade partner, and when they decided
to bring him back, suddenly the Aaron Rodgers to the
Rams thing went to, you know what, so are we
just slammed dunking him to the Giants now or what's

(01:10:10):
going to be the next move?

Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
I think they're the favorites right now, at least take
my opinion. You hear the rumors out there. I know
they're all over the place. If I'm the Giants, it's
a good stop gap for one year, maybe two veteran quarterback.
You draft yourself a youngster that could learn under Rogers.
I think it'd be a win win situation.

Speaker 5 (01:10:30):
So what was on roman numeral two?

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
Because Arni's handwriting, as lovely as he thinks it is,
I struggle with it Roman numeral two. All right, this
is what's the next move? You have number two Giants
to Rogers. Then questions on the Titans fields and Pittsburgh.
What is that at number one? Is that LVR?

Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Yes, Las Vegas Raders. That's the big one for your Raiders.
I mean, what are they going to do with quarterback?
They're shopping around their other tight end. There's a lot
of moves to be made right there with the Raiders.

Speaker 5 (01:11:02):
Yeah, I don't know, and I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:11:05):
According to different reports, they're split what they want to
do at quarterback. And it's not like anyone's standing on
the table and pounding for a player yet. But I mean, look,
Spytech their general manager, Where did you just come from
Tampa Bay? And what did Tampa Bay have success doing
bring again a free agent quarterback?

Speaker 2 (01:11:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
Tom Brady had worked there. Now, obviously that's Tom Brady's
that's different. But even in bringing in Baker Mayfield, what
did he have success on a one year deal?

Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Right?

Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
A one year proven deal and then he went out
proved it and got a fairly long term extension for
a guy that's been in the league as long as
he's been in So do they go one year deal
with Wilson or Russell Wilson or Justin Fields or maybe
even Aaron Rodgers because I don't think Aaron Rodgers is
in this mix. Do they go ahead and pony up
and go get Sam Darnald like he's a forgotten guy? Right,

(01:11:57):
Sam Darnold's out there, Arnie, Maybe if you want him,
lets the Vikings resign him? Or do you draft a guy? Right?
Do you go and just get your quarterback at either
six or trade up? That's where I think they're kind
of split right now, and I don't know what the
right move is because if.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Should Sanders drops to you, that's a positiveility.

Speaker 5 (01:12:16):
But I mean, are do you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
I've heard about gent maybe that the Raiders are interested
in him?

Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
That smel Kuiper's mock. What happens where that came from?

Speaker 2 (01:12:25):
If McMillan drops down to you guys, is that a positive.

Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
McMillan will be there too? At six McMillan's not gonna
go ahead it I don't think, you know. In fact,
I think he might drop quite a bit if he
doesn't go in the top ten. So it's a good question.
I mean, if I was the Raiders, I'd be doing everything.
I can't get my quarterback situation fixed. And I don't
think I'm gonna overspend on Sam Darnold, and I sure
a sack. I'm not gonna bring in Aaron Rodgers. I'm

(01:12:50):
gonna go get I can't believe this is coming out
of my mouth. Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. I'm gonna
draft a guy and we'll live with what we got,
you know, kind of be my backup. And I don't
I don't know if An o'conna would working shit.

Speaker 2 (01:13:03):
Well, Travis Hunter going to be drafted? Where's he going
to be gone. I think one, two or three, don't you,
Because if he falls down to the Raiders, for sure,
you're taking them.

Speaker 3 (01:13:11):
He's he's going to the Raiders. It'll be like the
brock Bauers pick where he fell to the Raiders. I wonder,
I wonder if quarterbacks will still go one two in
this draft. There's this part of me that through all
of this talk about ah Shadur Sanders is falling, there's
this the Browns need a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
The Titans need a quarterback. You got two.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
You got a great option in cam Warden, a really
good option in Shador Sanders, and now Carder and have
to play right away with the Browns.

Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Arnie with that report on Carter, it's more, yeah, like
I know, I know.

Speaker 3 (01:13:42):
Maybe he falls a little bit more, but I still
think quarterbacks could go one too. We got more draft
notes from the week that was your tweets have been great.
We'll hit the start of hour three with him in
the Power Hour. But when we come back, Steve de
Sager with all the news notes and nuggets that we
need to make sure we hit with Arnie and Plank
on Fox Sports. Right, all right, it's already in Plank Company.

(01:14:03):
You live from the ti rack dot Com studios, and
of course Steve de Seger in the house.

Speaker 5 (01:14:09):
What's going on tonight, Steve? What you got?

Speaker 9 (01:14:10):
Of course we've got stuff to get to. But since
I mentioned the sooner winning the NASCAR, that was at Austin, Texas,
a road course, and he won on a recular speedway
last week at Atlanta, so that's impressive. William Byron was
second today. Tyler Reddick started from the poll, finished third.
But the programming note is NASCAR is going to be
on FS one starting next weekend for six straight Sundays. Wow,

(01:14:32):
because you see IndyCar is on Fox TV. Now all
seventeen races this season are on Fox. That includes the
Indy five hundred in late May. Cool IndyCar season ends
in August. The season opener on Fox was today the
winner Alex Polo on the streets of Saint Petersburg, Florida.
The story here veteran Scott Dixon finished second. Why he

(01:14:53):
had no radio communication in basically the entire race way.
It malfunction and so when it came for the final
fuel stop, well basically he had to do what you
and I would do, wait for the little light to
come on the tashboard. He went in a few seconds
later than the crew would have liked. It cost him
a bit of time and he finished in second place.

(01:15:15):
My goodness, oouch. As for spring training baseball, if you've
seen any highlights, you may be aware they are testing
a video review system for balls and strikes. This is
only a spring training test. It's not going to be
in the regular season.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
That wire.

Speaker 4 (01:15:29):
I do like it.

Speaker 9 (01:15:30):
It's not lengthy. You get to see the graphic that
we would normally see for a replay of a pitch
anyway on your local TV. But one veteran pitcher, Max Scherzer,
had said about this challenge system, can't we just be
judged by humans? And so Max Scherzer is on the
mound today at a spring training game in Florida, pitching
for Toronto against Philadelphia, and the Phil's leadoff hitter is

(01:15:55):
an old teammate of his, Trey Turner. So Trey Turner,
as a joke, just decide before the game, I'm taking
the first pitch and I'm going to challenge it.

Speaker 5 (01:16:05):
How did react?

Speaker 9 (01:16:07):
He was confused to say the least pitch was taken
for a strike, kind of looked like a strike. After review,
Absolutely it was a strike, Trey Turner with a broad
smile to the mound after that. Starting pitcher for the
Red Sox today was Walker Buehler, the former Dodger who
closed out the World Series so well last year. Buehler

(01:16:27):
got the win two scoreless innings, four strikeouts, no walks,
Boston a six to four winner over the Mets. And
by the way, the Wall Street Journal talked about ESPN
getting out of televising live Major League Baseball after this year,
that they were apparently paying over five hundred million a
year and ESPN quote wanted a rights fee no more

(01:16:47):
than two So that's a no.

Speaker 2 (01:16:52):
Wow, what a cut? We want to five hundred forget
about it, how about two hundred.

Speaker 9 (01:16:57):
They're paying more than that for NHL. Let's just say
it out loud. It's not exactly getting boffo ratings. Well,
they figured it out country.

Speaker 2 (01:17:04):
Were morons for paying that type of money.

Speaker 9 (01:17:07):
For this some of these leagues, so they used the
opt out. And then we had one of the late
NBA games tonight with the Lakers winning their sixth straight,
beating the Clippers for the second time this weekend, beat
them by six Ladies and gentlemen. The Los Angeles Lakers
are currently the number two seed in the Western Conference.
They are sixteen and three since essentially since the Fires

(01:17:28):
postponed a couple of games in mid January. They have,
of course acquired Luka Donsich recently.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
That helps.

Speaker 9 (01:17:33):
Thirty eight and twenty one is the record. An impressive
two seed at the moment, just ahead of Denver and Memphis. However,
the one seed is light years ahead of everyone else
in the West, the Oklahoma City Thunder. If they win
their next game, we'll have a record of fifty and eleven.
And tonight's win was against the San Antonio team that
actually played well, thank you. The Spurs shot fifty six

(01:17:55):
percent from the floor, scored one hundred and thirty two points,
and not come close to winning this game. The final
was one forty six to one thirty two for OKC,
starring these two Jalen Williams forty one points, seven assists,
no turnovers, Shay Gilgess Alexander thirty one points, eight assists,

(01:18:16):
no turnovers. The folks at stats Inc. Says, so you're
saying that one hundred five points were either scored or
assisted by one of these two guys, geez one hundred
and five not bad as teammates. No other NBA teammate
duo in the last forty years has accounted for that

(01:18:38):
many points in a game while having zero turnovers in
the game. Very very impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
Wow.

Speaker 9 (01:18:45):
As far as the NFL news, Tuesday is the deadline.
As far as franchise tags, Dallas plans to tag defensive
tackle os adgi Zua if a long term deal is
not reached. We'll see about the Bengals and t Higgins again.
Tuesday is the deadline. The new league year starts March
the twelve, So you've heard this weekend about the forty
nine Ers dealing wide receiver Deebo Samuel to Washington for

(01:19:08):
a fifth rounder. That is not official until the calendar
flips to the new league year. Financially on the twelfth.
Training camps open tomorrow for the UFL, the spring league,
which has eight teams. Today, scouting combine workouts ended. And
as far as the golf winner at Palm Beach today,
Joe Highsmith, who none of us has ever heard of.

Speaker 5 (01:19:28):
I looked it up.

Speaker 9 (01:19:28):
He went to Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. But the
guy this weekend, barely made the cut on Friday, needed
a putt just to qualify for weekend. Play right on
the cut number, and he winds up winning the thing
and winning about one point six million dollars. He's never
won a Tour event before. Jordan Speith was five shots back,

(01:19:50):
tied for ninth place. PGA Tour now is in Florida
for four straight events. We're getting closer to the Masters
in April. Live golf resumes next weekend in Hong Kong.

Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
Good stuff, Steve, all right, your tweets have been fantastic.
Tonight you get the opening segment of the Final Hour
plus Roman Numeral three, Matt Stafford Stays.

Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
And Roman Numeral eight.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
Will Arnie be pounding his chest telling you how right
he was over Joe l Embead. It's all coming up
in an action packed Our Hour where the stinking genius
Arnie Spanier.

Speaker 5 (01:20:25):
I'm Chris Plank. This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:20:32):

Speaker 3 (01:20:48):

of you or NAT not this week.

Speaker 5 (01:20:54):
I told you.

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
In a couple weeks, my wife's going down the Boston,
so I may go down with her for a day
or two. And then at the end of March, I'm
going to go down with my son for a couple
of days down to New York City. So oh nice, Yeah,
we'll we'll have a little fun down there.

Speaker 5 (01:21:07):
Proud of you getting out of the house. It's a
big step.

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
Wow. Well, I'm just saying you talk a lot about
doing things that you never do, so this is I'm
just happy this summer.

Speaker 2 (01:21:18):
I'm also going to La this summer, and I would
love to go back to Tucson for like a weekend,
but that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (01:21:25):
Why not, Well, you're gonna go for the victory parade
right when they win the national championship for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Absolutely gonna go ahead.

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
And go for that.

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
I was watching our softball this weekend, Arizona Softball, Arizona Baseball.
We beat number one Texas, saying them they're a blooney
team Texas A and M so I just want to
throw that they shouldn't even be in the top twenty five.

Speaker 5 (01:21:47):
But in baseball, yeah, okay, I mean they they went
to the World Series last year. Yeah, you know the guys.

Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Who is the college baseball expert at the network?

Speaker 5 (01:22:00):
Sure, I bet you are. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
Texas, A and M dropped three straight games to teams
outside the top twenty five.

Speaker 5 (01:22:07):
Look at you.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
It's also three different teams too, very early. I'd be
kicking them out of the top twenty five. No top
twenty five for you, your bogus team. You where was
Arizona After the first month of the college we were
in the top twenty five. Oh, in the college we
were in the top twenty five.

Speaker 5 (01:22:24):
Ye take them out, the Bologney team that they are.

Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
You kicked us out of the top twenty five years
and what happened?

Speaker 5 (01:22:30):
Now you're on way back.

Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Some people think we're twenty two fourteen, twenty two. We're
barely hanging on to that number four seed. We're barely
going to be a top four seed in the Big twelve.
If we don't beat Camp, we might have to beat
Kansas on the road.

Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
I thought it was a blooney league and you were
gonna run it. What's going on a little bit better.

Speaker 5 (01:22:49):
Than the Bolognia League.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
I thought it was gonna be, Yeah, a lot better
than the Bolooney League. You thought it was gonna be.
All right, Well, mister college baseball expert, let's say some
of these tweets, shall we. You can always find the show.
It's the best way to get in touch with us.
That's steaking genius one. I'm at Plank Show. That's all
one word for both and everybody should follow us at
Fox Sports Radio. Some instant reaction on Lebron Abigail Rights.

(01:23:12):
Lebron has been so toxic and one of the main
reasons the NBA is in the worst shape it's ever been.
Please don't act like he hasn't been divisive and tried
to push his political agenda.

Speaker 2 (01:23:23):
Yeah, for his political agenda. And there's people who don't
believe with what he has to say. There's a lot
of things I don't believe in what Lebron has to say.
But that doesn't mean he hasn't been exembardory toward the
NBA on and off the court. He is not done
anything illegal or you know, been charged with anything like that.

(01:23:44):
He's been a great player for every year he's been there,
he's been mostly you know, healthy for his entire stay
of the NBA. I think we are a little too
hard on Lebron, and.

Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
I just feel like, and I don't know, Abigail, what's
your political but we don't really have a lot of
grace for either side. Like everyone who's left ranks everyone
on the right is the worst person on the planet
and how dare they? And everyone on the right thinks
everyone on the left is some soft pushover weekling and
they hate everything they say, so it's like, you can't

(01:24:17):
he Yes, he put a lot of support behind Kamala Harris,
and he's been outspoken, being pretty left leaning. But this
is what happens when you do decide you're going to
get political on things, You're going to become very divisive.
I mean, what was the great line that Michael Jordan
nesblic by his sneakers also right, that's.

Speaker 5 (01:24:36):
Right, mister, nobody writes.

Speaker 3 (01:24:37):
I respect Lebron's talent, his work ethic on the court,
but he brings a lot of the heat on himself.
He winds about Coles, he has an awful habit of politicking.
For new players in the media, and he's a coach killer.
Look at Cleveland and ask Frank voge fair on being
called a coach killer.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
What big time player doesn't ask for players like this
is Patrick Mahomes. You know when Andy Reed is he
talking to Andy Reid going no, I don't care, I
don't want anybody. I don't want to go ahead and
demand that you bring in a wide receiver or anybody
on the offensive line of port, like absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:25:12):
And what was his third one?

Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
What was his third reason why he didn't like Lebron?

Speaker 9 (01:25:16):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
Do you really need a third one? I mean it
sounded like that was where he saw winds about calls. Well,
the winds about calls.

Speaker 5 (01:25:23):
Coach killer Mahomes winds up.

Speaker 2 (01:25:25):
Remember when Mahomes did that postgame interview against Buffalo when
they lost and started whining about the call to Josh Allen. Yeah,
he he whinds about calls all the time. All the
great all the great ones do that too. Yeah, And
I don't think we're getting away from that in the
NBA for certain.

Speaker 3 (01:25:44):
I mean, it's just it's funny because everyone will try
to say I've never seen people whind more into my life,
Like if you've seen Tim duncan.

Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
I mean, go back to what the magic Johnson used
to questionine every call.

Speaker 5 (01:25:56):
Larry Bird did the same thing too.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
Now are are they standing down there while the action
is going on on the other side of the court
doing it bow not?

Speaker 5 (01:26:05):
No, it wasn't ever that it was.

Speaker 2 (01:26:07):
It didn't.

Speaker 5 (01:26:08):
I don't remember it being that bad.

Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
But if you go back to the Spurs and their
incredible run that everyone waxes nostalgically about, now they were
the biggest floppers, yes and whiners on the planet. We
just remember things a little bit more romantically. I think
whenever it's time removes us from it and you're like,
oh my gosh, this is the worst ever. Like what

(01:26:30):
we call them boring.

Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
They never went back to back championship, so we say
they didn't have a dynasty. We didn't like that team.

Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
We didn't well, I mean the Spurs fans did.

Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
Arnie might not have, but no, I didn't like them,
my buddy, that was the Spurs fan sure loved them.
The weed Smoker writes, he's Arnie finally turning heel. It's
been years in the making, and this time I don't
think he has gonna turn good guy until the preseason?

Speaker 5 (01:26:56):
Are you turning heel? Do you know what that means?

Speaker 10 (01:26:59):
That makes you?

Speaker 9 (01:27:00):
Now?

Speaker 5 (01:27:00):
Are you the bad guy? Are you John Cena? Are
you turning on Cody Rhodes?

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
What do you mean like the bad guy? Yeah? What
do you mean by the bad guy? In what aspect?

Speaker 5 (01:27:10):
Though?

Speaker 10 (01:27:10):
To?

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Like to who all of us? Everybody? Are you finally
turning heel?

Speaker 7 (01:27:15):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:27:15):
I'm the good guy. I'm always been the good guy.
What are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (01:27:18):
I'm not Colin Wright.

Speaker 3 (01:27:20):
Tom Brady courted matt Stafford at a Montana ski resort
this week. Yeah, if you're free agent Aaron Rodgers, do
you pick up the phone if the Raiders call?

Speaker 5 (01:27:30):
I don't think the Raiders are calling. You'd have to
call the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (01:27:34):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
One thing about Matthew Stafford, I am a little surprised
that he went back to the Rams. I thought there'd
be a little bit some bad blood there. I also
thought there was like a five percent chance that maybe
he was going to retire after what he's been through
with the injuries and the you know life uh, you know,
the serious medical conditions his wife went through and thank

(01:27:56):
god she's okay. But it was I mean, it was
life threatening. Chris was sure, you know, when you're operating
on somebody's brain. For God's sake, Thank god she came out. Okay,
part of me might have said, you know what, enough
is enough. I've been through so much, not only physically
but emotionally too. I can't imagine what it's like to
play a season worried about your wife, if she was

(01:28:18):
gonna make it or not. I just it's got to
be horrible. And I just maybe would have said, maybe
we have to consider retiring. But you know, there's a
lot of money on the table, which is why I
probably want to come back.

Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
Here's two things on this number. One, were you surprised
at how active the market was? I mean the Raiders
and the Giants they met the financial number. I mean
they're gonna be go like fifty million year. The Raiders
already like, yeah, well we'll bring it here, So were
the Giants.

Speaker 2 (01:28:45):
I wasn't surprised. But then what were the Rams thinking
by saying, go find out you're worth it, come back
to us. Why would the Rams think that nobody else
wanted this guy? That's what I can't figure out.

Speaker 3 (01:28:56):
Here's the second thing, is this the matter of the
Rams not getting what they wanted in return, so having
to go ahead and bring them back. Or do you
think they truly may have misplayed their hand where they
think they they missed?

Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
I think it was yeah, yeah, I don't. First of all,
I don't even know what they would have gotten back.
I don't think they ever got to that point like,
well this team will give you this and this team
no it.

Speaker 5 (01:29:21):
Did they knew what they would get? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Yeah, yeah they knew. I mean because it wasn't just
financial parameters. They they knew what the Rams, I'm sorry,
with the Raiders and the.

Speaker 2 (01:29:30):
Dry thanks you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:29:32):
Oh yeah, sure, I mean and from what the Raiders
guys are reporting, it wasn't anything better than a third rounder.

Speaker 2 (01:29:39):
Oh because I never I didn't see any reports like
the Raiders were willing to give up this round pick
or this team was willing to give up god pick.

Speaker 3 (01:29:44):
You know, I don't know how much it's out there,
but the buzz around the Raider beat Riders and and
is that Hey, they knew and this is what they
were offering, and this was the amount of money they
were offering and the Rams just said no. So now
if if the Giants would have come back and said
we'll give you the number three pick. Then maybe we're
having a different conversation. But I do think that they

(01:30:07):
just massively misplay their hand is what I think happened.

Speaker 2 (01:30:11):
Yeah, No, I totally agree with you, and I think
that Tom Brady, I can't obviously speak for him, but
I feel like his number one option at quarterback was
Matthew Stafford all along.

Speaker 3 (01:30:22):
To be honest, Well, I'm starting to listen tom Brady.
I'm very happy that we have Tom Brady helping out
the Raiders. I think he might be a terrible recruiter. Arnie, Well,
let me take you down a list. Okay, when the Raider,
I'm sorry, the Raiders. We got to go back to college.
When the Oklahoma Sooners signed John Mattier, the transfer quarterback,

(01:30:45):
do you know who called him last second to try
to get him to go to North Carolina.

Speaker 5 (01:30:48):
Just take a trip, Tom Brady.

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
This was the Washington State quarterback, top quarterback and the
transfer portal going to Oklahoma. Tom Brady called him. He's like, hey,
why don't you take a trip out, Bill Belichick? You
love it, dude, said no. Signed with the Sooners. Ben Johnson.
Ben Johnson Arnie actively recruited by who Tom Brady to
be the next head coach of the Raiders. In fact,

(01:31:13):
so actively recruited, we had people reporting that he was
the favorite and gonna.

Speaker 5 (01:31:18):
Take the job.

Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
Ben Johnson ended up where Chicago and apparently reportedly Tom
Brady had even reached out to Bill Belichick to gauge
his interest, right whenever the vacancy first opened, And what
did Belichick do? Thanks, but no thanks, I'm staying at
North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Didn't Tom Brady? Wasn't He also responsible though, bringing that
big time quarterback recruit to Michigan that just reasently went
there or no Rice Underwood? Yeah, no, that was twelve
million dollars. That was Benjamin right, Benjamin's right.

Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Yeah, that was That was some that was a buddy
of mine named Ben Franklin, and a lot of them
that got him there. And then the fourth is now
Matthew Stafford. And I mean we got insiders brawling over
whether or not it was a meeting or not the NFL,
as said, gone tampering.

Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
Stotford would have gone if if the Rams didn't want him,
he would have gone.

Speaker 5 (01:32:10):
There abc always be closing.

Speaker 3 (01:32:16):
I don't give a Damn. The guy hasn't brought a
single soul to the Raiders. He swung and missed on
every single big hit he's supposed to bring in.

Speaker 5 (01:32:25):
The guy might just suck at recruiting Artie.

Speaker 3 (01:32:27):
That might be what this boils down to, because Matt Stafford,
if he really wanted to come play for Tom Brady
and be a Raider and if that sales pitch worked,
what would he have done? He would have gone back
to the Rams and say, no, I don't want to
be here.

Speaker 5 (01:32:39):
I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
No. Money is more important than playing for Tom Brady.
I think everybody was.

Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
The Raiders were offering him more money, The Giants were
offering him more money. Right, he was gonna get more
money from both of those teams than he got from
the Rams.

Speaker 5 (01:32:52):
At least that's the end.

Speaker 3 (01:32:53):
I mean, if it was two years, one hundred million dollars,
then yeah, he was going to But you know what,
I'll just Tom, you got some time here to turn
it around. Free agency starts on the twelfth. I don't
know who you would consider to be the big money
free agent right now, Arnie in the NFL, I mean,
I don't even know for quarterback is just in general,
just in general right now? I mean, is there anyone

(01:33:15):
that jumps out he' like, oh, gotta get that guy everyone?

Speaker 5 (01:33:18):
Would you not a quarterback? Would you be fired up
about Sam Darnold.

Speaker 2 (01:33:22):
No, it's not like I say, Ooh, I got to
get that guy because I love him so much. It's ooh,
I got to get that guy because now I can't
get Stafford. I got to get myself a quarterback. I
need a quarterback. I need a quarterback. I need a quarterback.
So it's come to the point now that if I'm
the Raiders, I've got to get fields or do I
got to talk to Rogers? Is that what I got

(01:33:43):
to talk? You making me do?

Speaker 10 (01:33:44):
Or no?

Speaker 5 (01:33:45):
Go get t Higgins?

Speaker 3 (01:33:47):
Show me you can recruit Tom draft a quarterback at six,
and then maybe talking about getting Aiggs quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:33:54):
Why the hell would I get T Higgins because you
need a number one receiver. No, so nobody can throw
them the ball. I need a quarterback.

Speaker 5 (01:34:02):
What did I just tell you?

Speaker 3 (01:34:03):
You draft your quarterback at six and then you decide
if there's a bridge quarterback out there that's working.

Speaker 2 (01:34:08):
No, that's like saying I'm gonna get new tires. But
I don't have a steering wheel. No, no, no, no, no,
that that's not gonna I need to go ahead and
make sure the steering wheel is nice and new and leather,
and then I'll go again and get the new wheels.
Like you're wrong. I first to start with the quarterback,
and then you go ahead and get the wide receiver.

Speaker 5 (01:34:26):
This putt of your room. You're getting the quarterback in
the draft.

Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
You don't know that for a fact if that's going
to happen to you.

Speaker 3 (01:34:32):
This is what you just said two hours ago you
would do if you'd get a quarterback in the draft
and fill in other places in free agency.

Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
No, no, no, telling you what you said two hours ago.
Now you're not gonna get You're not gonna get one
of the top two quarterbacks though you know that right.

Speaker 5 (01:34:49):
What if you trade up, well.

Speaker 2 (01:34:51):
Then there's a possibility there you may have to go
ahead and take one of those middle quarterbacks I brought
up in the third, fourth or fifth round.

Speaker 5 (01:34:59):
You I just gonna start talking.

Speaker 3 (01:35:01):
I'm gonna go vj Husky on you, and just that
way you're not I mean when you try to, I'm
just gonna power.

Speaker 5 (01:35:08):
I literally used your plan. I used your plan.

Speaker 2 (01:35:11):
You just told me that he wouldn't do it. No,
if I'm the Raiders, I'm not takeing. Look, if one
falls to me, that's good, but I'm not trading up
to get one. I'm not gonna go ahead and trade
up to the top two picks to get myself a quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:35:24):
Sorry, VJ, you cracked the code to keep Arnie quiet.
I'm very envious of it. Let's see here, Jason Diamond Wrights.
He was a great success in Chip Kelly's offense at
Ohio State.

Speaker 5 (01:35:36):
That's why I.

Speaker 3 (01:35:36):
Wanted Will Howard because the Raiders needed a quarterback. And
then I saw him throw. But it didn't look good
for Will Howard yesterday, not good at all watching him
throw the football.

Speaker 5 (01:35:47):
But most see, you know, like I said, I.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Never really thought he was that great of a thrower
of the football. Anyway, he got hot during the playoffs.
You know what's crazy, though, We're gonna look at that
one today's workout and put that as the gospel. But
let's forget about the entire year's work that got himTo
the to the championship, right, throw the head out the window,
and let's and then well let's also remember what happened

(01:36:12):
in the Michigan game too. That's always it's always the
negative stuff that's gonna come out with Will Howard. That's
what's happening here. You know that in the Michigan game
he threw for like three hundred yards but they get
but they lost.

Speaker 5 (01:36:24):
That's the right one I mean.

Speaker 3 (01:36:26):
And the funny thing is or I don't know if
it's quite three hundred yard. I think he threw the
ball thirty times. He got hot at the right time,
and I'm not ready to bail on him as a
pro prospect by any stretch of the imagination.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
Actually, if you get him late too, Chris, you.

Speaker 5 (01:36:39):
Know, what do you think when you say late fifth
round six years?

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
I was thinking fifth round right even before you said that.
And I told you last week that the Raiders had
interest in Will Howard. If it's going to be a
late round pick, maybe that's the way they go according
to that. Maybe and center right, did I lose that website?
Are they back now?

Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
Are that? I think they're back? I think they're back.

Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
Goodness, who's gonna by the way, Colin got duped by
one of the websites too, right.

Speaker 3 (01:37:10):
Yeah, I mean all of you that falling forward. I mean,
it's a beautiful thing to see. I guess I'm guilty too.
Let's see, there was one more here I wanted to
get before we got a break. Oh this good sports one.
Josh Allen writes thoughts on Mike Budenholzer telling Devin Booker
to be less vocal on the court and by the way,
Josh telling him to be less vocal in the huddles.

(01:37:33):
He thought he was talking too much and being a
little bit too. I don't know if the word would
be demeaning, but it's it's already been a train wreck
for the Phoenix sunsman.

Speaker 5 (01:37:41):
What'd you make of that story?

Speaker 2 (01:37:43):
Yeah, I didn't know if that meant like toward the
officials or toward his teammates.

Speaker 5 (01:37:48):
You know, I guess that I thought it was more
towards his teammates.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Teammates it gets that way. Also, I did see that
report that they're gonna talk to Kevin Durant and deal
him in the offseason to one of like six or
seven teams.

Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:38:00):
I'd never heard of anything about Booker being a prima
donna or somebody tough to get along with, So I'm
kind of surprised about that.

Speaker 3 (01:38:07):
Yeah, maybe it was just he was trying to be
a leader, and Coach is like, I don't know if
you're leading the right way, right, because I don't think
that I would be telling my star and the foundation
of the program of the entire franchise to be like, hey, yeah,
you need to chill out.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
You imagine can you say that to Lebron? Lebron, you
need to chill out you right, can't be so vocal that.

Speaker 5 (01:38:30):
All right, quick break.

Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
We got a lot of nuggets still to get to
from the combine, including Arnie's Roman numeral number five, a
couple of rumors, and is Roman numeral eight when Arnie
really gets to beat his chest and tell you how
right he is. That's next right here on Fox Sports Radio.
You guys, good Mary Ian, Oh stop it.

Speaker 2 (01:38:51):
That was a three point something.

Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
It was three point nine O threequake just struck near
North Hollywood, near the Oscars in La I went.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
Through a couple of seven shakers. Relax, was so bad it.

Speaker 8 (01:39:06):
Just shook the entire.

Speaker 2 (01:39:11):
So it was three point Is that like not a
bad earthquake? No, that's okay, I don't know. That's that's nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:39:17):
That's more than nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
You know what's so funny is I'm on Twitter. I
don't have any news about the earthquake.

Speaker 8 (01:39:23):
Just earthquake, and you'll see it.

Speaker 7 (01:39:25):
The studio is in absolute shambles, right, Oh, and the
computers are on the floor, the glasses shattered.

Speaker 5 (01:39:30):
It's yeah, no big deal though, right.

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
I was in Atlanta when they had an earthquake. It
was a pretty pretty big when it was like a
six something. But we were like on the one of
the top floors of a twenty five or thirty story building,
and my two co hosts, who had never been in
an earthquake, they look like they were about to jump
out the window or yeah. Oh they were paddicked.

Speaker 5 (01:39:53):
They were.

Speaker 2 (01:39:54):
I was laughing and they were so paddicked. It was hysterical, Yes, hysterical, Well,
an earthquake.

Speaker 5 (01:40:01):
Their mind.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Relax, everybody, relax.

Speaker 3 (01:40:06):
You're saying relax while you're sitting in negative twelve degrees. Meanwhile,
Mary Ian and Is Sager are living through an earthquake. See,
I'm fine in tornadoes, right, I get that. Some people
to be scared to death. It's like, why are you
standing outside during the tornado? Naturally sponsor so I can
see it right. Earthquakes are another thing that we get
them here in Oklahoma too fracking y'all. But I they

(01:40:29):
bother me every time we'll get them, Like what was that?

Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
So? Yes, I would be shook by three nine army
tornadoes would scare me. That would be there.

Speaker 7 (01:40:38):
You go at this point though, like I living in
LA I just feel earthquakes even when they aren't there sometimes,
like I'm just saying, was that an earthquake?

Speaker 10 (01:40:45):
No?

Speaker 5 (01:40:45):
No, no, I don't think so. Well, it's all over
my timeline now.

Speaker 3 (01:40:48):
So either the only people tweeting are people that are
still up in Los Angeles, or this is a bigger
deal than Arnie thinks it is.

Speaker 2 (01:40:54):
Wow, I'm not you're gonna blame it on me right?
As what is your fault it is?

Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
I mean some people claiming that it was that it
was your fault, your takes and how you just completely
and totally wont to eighty on me?

Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
So can I just follow up? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:41:09):
For years and years and years, you say, get a
quarter get a quarterback in the draft on a rookie contract,
you build around him.

Speaker 5 (01:41:16):
Yeah, now magically you're changing that.

Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
No, I'm not changing that. I don't know where you got.
I'm just saying I don't think you're gonna be able
to get one of the quarterbacks to fall in your lap.
I'm not going to trade up, as they charge you
such a premium to trade on up, especially if it's
gonna be somebody for like should you Sanders? There is
a possibility that somebody really good could fall into your
lap at number sixteen. And what I mean by that is,

(01:41:39):
should you Sanders? Or for some reason number six I said,
did I say number six? They sound like you said sixteen?
So number six, Travis Hunter would be phenomenal to fall
in your lap, and I think that could be a
little bit of a long shot. No, I'm not moving.
If i'm you, I'll take one of the quarterbacks in
the middle rounds like we brought up earlier, like Gabriel

(01:42:02):
or somebody like that, or Will Howard.

Speaker 3 (01:42:04):
Plus sounds like sounds like you're moving the goalpost on
our I was gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:42:08):
Say, plus, I mean you're gonna get your You're gonna
have to find yourself another veteran quarterback. My answer, if
you're gonna go that way is somebody like Fields. You
know I always liked him. I would have made him
the starter in Pittsburgh. He would have been my choice
if I'm if I'm running the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
I would also add I think Fields might end up
being the guy they try to bring back in Pittsburgh,
which would absolutely.

Speaker 5 (01:42:31):
Blow my mind.

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
Yeah. Plus it would blow my mind that you had
him and you it looked like you had a pretty
good team last year. How could you not interested in
Cousins because he's not gonna be on the market. You're
gonna go back to Atlanta and be the backup.

Speaker 5 (01:42:44):
That's what the That's what the Atlanta GM said this week.

Speaker 3 (01:42:48):
He said that he's perfectly fine and that they they're
planning with Cousins as their backup.

Speaker 5 (01:42:52):
I mean, Derek Carr, we thought he might be out there, but.

Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
The Saints came out and said, now we're comfortable with
Derek Carr as our quarterbacks. So right, I mean, those
are two veteran options. I feel like there's one more
potential veteran out there that I'm leaving out. But I mean,
I mean, why not, right, if if he was gonna
be out there, why not as a as a good
bridge guy, especially if you get one of those second, third,
or fourth round quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (01:43:16):
But it sounds like the Falcons are gonna keep it.

Speaker 2 (01:43:18):
You don't Rogers, right, You're totally against that.

Speaker 3 (01:43:20):
I mean, listen, I watched a and O'Connell, Desmond Ritter,
and Gardner Minshew play for the Raiders last year. I
watched Jimmy Garoppolo the year before, Arnie, I'm fine with anyone,
to be honest with you, that's not one of those
four guys. But I look around the league and I,
I mean, this is crazy, and I know we got
to Saga's final update coming up here in seconds. I

(01:43:42):
kind of feel like the demand for Aaron Rodgers is
ticking up a bit. I think I think you're you're giants.
I think your giants won them. I think they're gonna
go try to get them, and I think they're gonna
be successful with it, to be honest with you, and
I don't know if that will take them out of
a quarterback at three.

Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
Or not, but I think Aaron Rodgers is going to
be a Giant.

Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
When it's all said not, I think that's where he's
gonna end up. All so, though you're right, it does
seem like there's more action picking up for him. At first,
I thought nobody's gonna want this guy once he's done
with the jetson they may force him in the retirement.
Not the case out there at all, Not at all.
And by the way, it seems like there's more openings
for quarterbacks than there are quarterbacks out there.

Speaker 3 (01:44:25):
We never have something like that. Hey, real quick, did
you have the one room where I didn't talk about?
That really surprised me. You buying the Eagles willing to
go for broke and bring in Miles Garrett.

Speaker 5 (01:44:38):
Yeah, that I like that. That would scare me if
I'm the NFC team right now.

Speaker 3 (01:44:44):
And as good as they were against the Chiefs, that
was the area where they struggled Ed Rusher getting out
to the quarterback. Imagine putting Miles Garrett in there would
be so unfair. All right, one final time tonight, we've
got more football to get to. Little NBA talk, But first,
Steve de Seger is in the house with what's training.

Speaker 5 (01:44:59):
What's going on? Steve.

Speaker 9 (01:45:00):
The late NBA game in LA went to the Lakers,
who've won six straight, beat the Clippers eight one oh two,
so it turned into a close game. Keep in mind
the Clippers did not score a point in the last
seven and a half minutes of the first half. Kawhi
Leonard thirty three points in defeat. Norman Palell did try
and play for the Clips, he left early with the
sore hamstring. Lakers starter Austin Reeves was out with a

(01:45:21):
strain calf. Lebron James had nine assists eight turnovers, but
Lukadansis scored twenty nine points and the Lakers have now
won sixteen of their last nineteen games. By the way,
Jimmy Butler of Golden State is probable for Monday after
missing the Saturday loss due to backspasms. Anthony Edwards was
questionable for tonight from Minnesota due to a sore calf.

Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
He played.

Speaker 9 (01:45:43):
He had forty four points and they wonted Phoenix one,
sixteen to ninety eight. Edward's seven assists just one turnover.
He was also fined today thirty five thousand dollars for
behavior after being kicked out on Thursday. New Orleans and
Toronto with wins Indiana as well. Oklahoma City got forty
one points from Jayla Williams and won at San Antonio
one forty six to one thirty two. New York's record

(01:46:05):
now forty and twenty the next We're trailing at Miami
by seventeen points. In this great still beat him in
overtime one sixteen, one twelve, Jalen Brunson thirty one points,
Karl Anthony Town sixteen rebounds. Boston over Denver today in
the TV game, won ten to one oh three. Cleveland
sat Donovan Mitchell, he rested and they still won their

(01:46:25):
tenth straight game in overtime win against Portland one thirty
three to one twenty nine. The Cavs are fifty and ten.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (01:46:33):
And men's college basketball just a week left in the
regular season. Great day for Michigan State, ranked eighth in
the country. The Spartans beat number eleven Wisconsin seventy one
sixty two. Fifteenth ranked Michigan lost at home. In fact,
it was Illinois by a point at halftime. Illinois won
it by twenty ninety three seventy three, and the Wolverines

(01:46:53):
have lost to Illinois had to head nine straight times.
So the Michigan Wolverines are now one game behind first
place Michigan State in the Big Ten standings, and Michigan
plays at Michigan State next Sunday to end the regular season.
Eighteenth ranked Memphis State was down eleven in the first
step but still won at UAB eighty eight eighty one.
In women's college hoops, number seven LSU ended its regular

(01:47:16):
season losing at home to Old Miss. Eighth ranked North
Carolina lost at home to Virginia. Eleventh ranked Tennessee lost
at home to Georgia. Kansas State ranked fourteenth beaten by
Iowa State, and I must mention number one ranked Texas.
This is the top ranked team in all of women's
college basketball. They won today seventy two to forty six
over Florida. They will not be the one seed in

(01:47:37):
their own conference tournament this week.

Speaker 2 (01:47:39):
Well'st the coin Flip.

Speaker 9 (01:47:40):
South Carolina wins the coin flip to earn the one
seed in the SEC. Fifth ranked Yukon went eighteen and
zero in the Big East after ripping Marquette Today. In
the NHL's late game, Vegas to nothing over New Jersey,
Rangers won four nothing against Nashville. Overtime wins for Carolina
and Toronto. NASCAR was on the road course at Austin,
Texas today, Christopher Bell won it. He also won last

(01:48:03):
week at Atlanta. By the way, NASCAR's on FS one
starting next weekend. For six straight Sundays, Fox TV has
Indy car the whole season, every race, including the Indy
five hundred in late May. Today, the season opener went
to Alex Polow on the streets of Saint Petersburg, Florida,
and the Jets are expected to cut wide receiver Devonte
Adams if they can't trade him. His cap number is

(01:48:25):
thirty eight million dollars salary. Wow, salary is not guaranteed
back to you.

Speaker 5 (01:48:30):
All right? Wow? It was interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:48:31):
I was trying to find a couple of couple of
different Aaron Rodgers notes, Giants, definitely, Raiders, probably not Seahawks necessarily,
not necessarily out, not necessarily in. But it's just in

(01:48:52):
everything you're reading right now, it seems like it's all
the Giants and maybe the Raiders.

Speaker 2 (01:49:00):
I don't know how well he was banking on the
Rams if Stafford was gone, right.

Speaker 3 (01:49:06):
It's Aaron Rodgers, who knows man, who knows what he's
banking on. I think that What do you think the
Rams would have done? Would they have pivoted to Aaron Rodgers?
Would they have signed Sam Darnold?

Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Was Aaron Rodgers was the rumor I heard?

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:49:18):
I mean, listen, Arnie, you can't not every rumor that,
not every rumor that you hear is true.

Speaker 2 (01:49:25):
I'm just it was on the Onion.

Speaker 5 (01:49:28):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (01:49:29):
I know that you fall for everything out there on Twitter.
I'm precre I love that stuff though, because I I
read so much of them and I sent them to
you during the week too. I'm like, oh, check this
rumor out. You'll love it. You love this rumor too.

Speaker 3 (01:49:42):
U c LA Dodger Frank writes a three point nine
that's just Clipper fans jumping off the bandwagon.

Speaker 5 (01:49:48):
That's true, Matt writes, why not trade for the Patriots? Backup?

Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
Joe Milton showed he can play with an insanely strong arm. Yeah, man,
I watched him in college, so I'm good. And Matthew
also had it. You referred to yourself as an expert, Arnie,
expert of what picking losing, uh, losing picks or picking
losing favorite teams?

Speaker 5 (01:50:12):
Wow, that's tough.

Speaker 2 (01:50:14):
That's that's cold. Thousand dollars going on my favorite teams?

Speaker 5 (01:50:19):
Well, I mean no, no, no, you don't.

Speaker 3 (01:50:21):
You have like ten dollars going on bucks right, sorry,
you have fifty dollars going on them to win ten thousand.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
Thousand, right, which is pretty much gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (01:50:31):
Would you bet your job on that?

Speaker 2 (01:50:33):
Well, not at those odds, though.

Speaker 3 (01:50:38):
Nature Boy asks will Stafford play like a scorn ex
girlfriend when he comes back next season?

Speaker 5 (01:50:44):
That could get ugly for both sides.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
Right, Why is he scoring because he had to go
out and get his worth and then go back to
the Rams? Is that why?

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
Maybe it's like, hey, you didn't care enough to just say, yeah,
we're gonna pay you whatever you want, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:51:00):
I just I still feel like this backfired on the Rams,
I really do.

Speaker 3 (01:51:04):
I mean, I guess they didn't realize how quarterback needy
some teams are, and then in that, like in an
offer like that by the Giants and the Raiders makes
me feel like both those teams feel like they're closer
than they might actually be.

Speaker 5 (01:51:20):
It's like, if you're willing to go spin.

Speaker 3 (01:51:22):
That on Matt Stafford, then you feel like you're a
quarterback away, right, Or they're just so fed.

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Up and not having a quarterback that they had to
do something.

Speaker 5 (01:51:30):
I mean, when was who was the last Giants quarterback? Eli?

Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
And even Eli was pretty much I mean, he wasn't
the most beloved guy. I mean they benched him for
a while for Geno Smith. I think that was one game. Gosh,
that's Jeffer phil Simms. Maybe we gotta go back that far.
But I'm just saying, you know, the franchise do that
you can count on. It's been tough since Eli right

(01:51:56):
to find the guy. And even Eli, like we said,
though he won two supersuper Bowls, no seasons between super Bowls.

Speaker 5 (01:52:03):
Yeah, pretty rough.

Speaker 3 (01:52:04):
Yeah, Raiders had Derek Carr for a long time, but
I mean he was it was split. You either loved
him or you hated him, and there was no gray area.
I mean, both those franchises are looking for a guy
to come in and.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
Be the dude. Why what are the Jets gonna do?
Why are they not being talked about in anything right now?
I was thinking about that also. I mean, there was
all this noise and we're ready to move on from
Aaron Rodgers. I thought they had a plan in place.
That hasn't happened so far. By the way, I was
just about to say, could you imagine if the Raiders
just say we can't get a quarterback? Everybody you know

(01:52:40):
Tom camera Crui, he's a bad recruiter. We can't get
a cruiter, and Tom slams his hand on the desk
and he goes, Okay, then we can't get a quarterback.
I'm coming out of retirement.

Speaker 5 (01:52:51):
Again. Let me reset in my team.

Speaker 2 (01:52:53):
How great would that be.

Speaker 3 (01:52:54):
I've watched Aidan O'Connell, Desmond Ridder, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Gardner
Minshew the last two seasons.

Speaker 5 (01:53:03):
I'm fine, I'm fine with whom everyone.

Speaker 2 (01:53:06):
That'd be great if he just said, hey, we tried.
I wanted to give Stafford, I wanted to get Rogers.
Everybody said no. I said, I'm blanket dead. I'm gonna
play that. I'm not just gonna settled by as one
of the best quarterback in the history of the gameplay
that's me.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Do you think he's maybe purposefully imploding the quarterback recruiting
so he can just come back. He might have to
take a pay cut from what they're paying at Fox
right now. I did find this on the Jets, and
I wanted to I'm meant to send to you earlier
this week. But you know, and I don't know Dan
Graziano is. He's not necessarily I think a news breaker

(01:53:41):
or anything of that nature. He's kind of become more
of a reporter perspective guy. He says, the Jets have
shown interest in trying to move up to number one
to take a quarterback. Right, that would be a pretty
good swing, right, that would involve a lot of draft capital.
But Connor Hughes also reported today on the other side

(01:54:02):
of the AAN Graziano said he believes that the Jets
are in the mix to move up to number one.
Connor Hughes says he would be surprised if the Jets
moved up to the number one pick.

Speaker 5 (01:54:11):
Sources that he touched base.

Speaker 3 (01:54:13):
With who met with the Jets at different points, believe
a veteran quarterback Carson Wentz, Marcus Mariota, a day two rookie,
and Tyrod Taylor will be the quarterback battle for the Jets.

Speaker 2 (01:54:28):
The season's already over for them. Last place, Say what
the last place again?

Speaker 5 (01:54:34):
I again?

Speaker 3 (01:54:37):
Well, they have fields in here to watch, so they said,
justin fields, Carson Wentz, Marcus Mariota, a day two rookie,
and Tyrod Taylor. Well, if you get justin fields and
say Jackson Dart falls to you and Tyrod Taylor, that's
not too bad, is it?

Speaker 2 (01:54:53):
Where are all the quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (01:54:54):
Geez, I just mentioned them right, justin field.

Speaker 2 (01:54:58):
Seems like there's moral but good quarterback. Yeah, all those
are great options.

Speaker 5 (01:55:03):
Huh Workshop that one. I think there might be something there.

Speaker 3 (01:55:06):
I think there might be something there, Arnie, that there's
more options than there are quarterbacks.

Speaker 5 (01:55:11):
Quarterback. That's right. Not the year, especially with this draft
for now.

Speaker 3 (01:55:14):
But remember we probably said the same thing a couple
of years ago, and probably said the same thing last
year and every single year. This time, it's like, boy, waital,
next year's quarterback class, you know, every and by the way,
you know what everyone's banking on for next year's quarterback
class is Arch Manning, whom you all have seen start
two games in his college career so far. All right,
quick break, Arnie s picks. We'll take us home next

(01:55:35):
on Fox Sports Radio. All right, we're heading down the
home stretch, getting ready to hand it off to Big
Ben Maller, who's coming up next. Thanks to Mary Mack,
thanks to ian great job Baddy Saga on updates, and
the millions and millions of editors behind the scenes putting
together the great audio that we used on the show tonight.

Speaker 5 (01:55:59):
Are you ready? What do you pay him?

Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
Ready. All right, very slim pickens, that's for sure.

Speaker 5 (01:56:04):
Well you've got you brought up.

Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
You got the a Sun basketball, got the final week
of the regular season and all the Yeah, you got
women's basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
Yeah, your Oklahoma Sooners are looking good in softball. Yes,
they are the second best team in my Arizona Wildcats.
Sure I wish we were playing you had kick your butt.
All right, I do have some picks, so uh, let
me get to this because instead of doing games, I
do have some predictions. Brandon Ayuk where you made fun
of me when I said that's San Francisco's gonna trade them, right,

(01:56:35):
They're gonna trade them to Kansas City, so look for
that to be out there. Aaron Rodgers will end up
with the New York Giants. That's where his final place
will be. By the way, congratulations, I don't know how
you're gonna put off with the Raiders. Will get fields,
and I think it'll be pretty good for you guys.
Devonte Adams is gonna end up in Dallas with the Cowboys.

(01:56:57):
By the way, my Wildcats will go through the Big
Twelve and playing the finals against Houston, so hopefully we'll
get a little revenge there. And later i'm down the road,
I'm gonna ask the Boss if I go cover the
Knicks and the Lakers in the NBA Finals. So I'm
looking forward to that. There you have my picks. Do
with them, Adge, you please no longer strictly for entertainment purposes.

Speaker 5 (01:57:19):
Only Nicks and the Lakers. Yes, in the NBA Final.

Speaker 2 (01:57:23):
Remember, though, I have the Knicks winning the championship and
my Arizona Wildcats. That happens, I get ten thousand dollars?

Speaker 5 (01:57:30):
Right? Which one are you more confident in? Right now?

Speaker 2 (01:57:34):
The Knicks, for sure, I'm pretty pretty ninety five percent
sure about that. Are you drunk off their win over
the Heat tonight? It was a good one. It was
a good come from behind.

Speaker 3 (01:57:44):
When I like gonna say, what, what's their record against
the Calves and the Thunders?

Speaker 5 (01:57:49):
Oh eight or something like.

Speaker 2 (01:57:51):
Yeah, eight, But against the other ones, they're like the
third seeds are like eight and one.

Speaker 3 (01:57:57):
There you go, well, hopefully all the third seeds can win.
You know what we didn't get to tonight, Arnie? What's
that we didn't get to you getting to brag about
how you said that Joell Eenbiid's career is over.

Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
Oh, yeah, for the Olympics. Yeah, well, real quick on
that it is over. But I don't know how it's
going to all play out, because I did see something
where Philadelphia if Joel emb doesn't play another moment from
now until one full year from now, Philadelphia is able
to get back all the money of remaining on his contract,

(01:58:32):
not from him personally, they just won't be on the hook.
I guess insurance will pay for it. That's a that's
a lot of money. You know that, don't you.

Speaker 5 (01:58:41):
Well, I'm sure it is.

Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
So I think what Philadelphia is gonna have to do
is just make him inactive until that time, say he's
just unphysically able to perform, and then halfway through next year,
once that's proven that he hasn't played in the year,
let him go be a free agent somewhere and sign
with somebody else. So if that's possible, I don't know

(01:59:05):
if that's possible.

Speaker 5 (01:59:06):
So let me make this clear. Yeah, all right, let
me get this cleared up.

Speaker 3 (01:59:10):
So you're saying that these seventy six ers would not
try to get any value in trading Joel Embiid, they
would just cut.

Speaker 2 (01:59:17):
Him, yes, because if they play him, if he plays
before the year's up, then well, I guess if they
trade him there on, they're not on the hook for
the contract then either, then who's gonna want to trade
for him? With all that money there?

Speaker 5 (01:59:30):
Twenty nine thirty of the NBA teams?

Speaker 3 (01:59:34):
No stop, yes, yes, you're telling me you wouldn't want
your team to take it. You wouldn't be excited if
Joel Embiid was on the Nicks, if.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
He was on the free market, not for that type
of money, No, not at all? Do you Why do
you care?

Speaker 5 (01:59:51):
It's like the salary CAP's not real in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
No, No, he's for I didn't even want him a
team in Usay, Chris, you know that he was bothered.
Carry me on team USA. I was going great.

Speaker 5 (02:00:02):
Well, let's just go ahead and mark this one.

Speaker 3 (02:00:06):
Mark the tape because in like two years from now,
when the Knicks are making a move for Joel Embiid,
Mannie will telling you how brilliant that move is.

Speaker 5 (02:00:15):
This is the smartest thing I've ever seen.

Speaker 3 (02:00:16):
All Right, dude, have a great week at joking your
wife back after your bachelor week. Big Ben Mallor is
coming up next. You don't forget the Friday Night Show
one to four am Central Time. We're taking care of
