Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to. The Falcons are on the board. Rams
lead Atlanta fourteen to three. Not the only fourteen to
three game in this late window. Dallas is well up
since on Cincinnati in that contest in Arlington fourteen three Cowboys.
Those just two of the five games we've got our
(00:22):
eyes on in this late window, plus breaking down everything
that has happened and that has happened, I guess, George.
In Week two of the NFL season, we are broadcasting
live from the tirect dot com studios. Tirect dot com.

Tirect dot com the way tire buying should be. I
(00:45):
mentioned there were five games going on right now, mentioned
the scores, and two of them. Jimmy Garoppolo though in
one of the three games we did not talk about
is into the game for the San Francisco forty Niners.
They're up on the Seahawks thirteen nothing in factive, got
a fourth and eight kind of in no man's land
at the Seahawk thirty nine yard line, so they're gonna
(01:05):
go for it. Trey Lance ruled out of the game
had to be carted off on a cart in an
air cast on his right leg. So not only is
this a significant injury for this game, it is also
very likely a significant injury for the rest of the season. George,
Right now, Jimmy Garoppolo into the game, you see the injury,
you see Jimmy G comes in. What's the first thing
(01:26):
that pops into your mind? WHOA well that well that
people would initially think, oh man, that oh trade Lance
was bad. No, man, the game had just started, and
that this sort of injury is absolutely it's it can
be devastating to a young guy's career. But also like
(01:47):
this changes everything that the plans that the San Francisco
forty nine ers had and and everything. So like now
now after this this season, if you're Jimmy G, like,
do you want to go back to San Francisco? If
you're San Francisco, do a you pay Jimmy G. I
(02:08):
think it depends on obviously how how he plays, But
this is gonna be one of those things where the
future could be decided based upon how this goes. Yeah, yeah,
I I It's exactly what I thought when I saw
Trey Lance's face Trey Lance knew that he suffered a
significant injury, and I don't think he knows exactly what happened.
Maybe he does, but he knows that it's a big deal.
(02:29):
Like exactly when when you're when you're hurt badly and
I and I have been, You're sitting there, you know
it's over, Like you know the season's over. Like there
there's no there, there are no takebacks, if you will.
It's one of those that you're like, bro, this is
a disaster. Uh, Like, there's no coming back from it
(02:52):
in terms of that season, and you know that all
the work, energy and time that you put in was
that you got nothing out of it, essentially. And that's
probably the hardest part about being hurt, is that you're
sitting there and you're like, bro, i did so much
to get ready for this season, and I'm not getting
(03:14):
anything out of it. That's the hardest part out of it.
I I think that I think that there is and
I don't want to jump to conclusions immediately, but if
this goes well for the forty Niners, if Jimmy g
you know, has the team winning when Tray lances out,
no matter how long it is, this to me could
(03:38):
signal the end of the Tray Lance era in San Francisco.
And the reason I say I don't think that, See,
the reason that I that I think that is because
Tray Lance, as a top three pick, was already kind
of behind the eight ball, like like for the situation
that he was brought into and being developed, there is
(03:59):
a lot of X spectations and being that top pick.
But he's a guy who what didn't have a lot
of experience in the college game, let alone now transitioning
to the NFL. And if you've got a Super Bowl
ready team or a Playoff contending ready team like the
forty Niners, how in the world now are you supposed
to convince that fan base and everybody around you that
(04:21):
Tray Lance is the guy. It's not like he's gonna
be able to get reps while he's hurt. And if
they if they win four in a row without Trey Lance,
it's Jimmy G's job the rest of the way. Like
there's there's no movie for the rest of the season.
It's Jimmy G's job for the for the rest of
the season. Any anyway, trade Trade Lands is not coming.
(04:43):
I mean, we're we're gonna assume that Trade Lands can't
come back this season, like physically, right, So, so so
it's gonna be Jimmy G's job any anyway. But you
but but the thing that you have to remember is
is that that Jimmy G is gonna be who Jimmy
G is gonna be, which is the first thing is
(05:05):
he has not been been healthy. So so the first
thing that Jimmy G has to prove is that he's
gonna stay healthy, which is the first and foremost thing,
which which we haven't seen a ton of, right, And
then the and then the second part of it is
is that if Jimmy G. That if he does play,
(05:25):
there's no assumption that Jimmy G is going to play
great football, because that's not who Jimmy G has been. Like,
He's not a great quarterback like Jimmy G's okay like,
so so that him starting doesn't mean that they are
going to believe in him any anymore than they already
(05:47):
didn't believe in him, which is why they drafted Trade Lands. Anyway,
I agree with you that you know Jimmy G is
is okay. I think in fact, Jimmy G is good
enough for the forty Niners and then through I think, well,
they made it to the NFC Championship Game with him.
(06:07):
That that tells me he's good enough. I'm not saying
he's good he's good enough for what the forty Niners need.
And that's gonna be the question that's gonna be the
question that you're gonna want to move on from. It's
also the reason why you know, hey, let's bring in
Tray Lance and maybe get that upgrade, just kind of
like Colin Kaepernick did with with Alex Smith a decade ago.
That's what you're you're hoping for. Colin Kaepernick ended up
(06:27):
working out for the forty Niners, took him to the
Super Bowl almost too, going to another the next year.
You don't have that luxury if you're San Francisco to
sit there and wait on train lands and if Jimmy
g is good enough, your models will just ride with him.
I do think that we had this inflated thought of
Jimmy Garoppolo throughout this whole process because he was on
the scene looking in well, I think a lot of
(06:49):
people do go as well. Oh agree with that, Dan,
that there's a lot of people who look at Jimmy G.
And they're like, yeah, this this is Immy do the
the legend of Jimmy G is like like greater than
anything else. And if we really are really being honest,
Jimmy G is Baker Mayfield. They are the same person.
(07:12):
Like if you can't run the football at a very
high level around them, they are pretty like like they
are below average quarterbacks if you can't run the ball
at a very high level around them. If you want
to talk about their level of play, and like the
top thirty two, I do think it's steven. I think
Jimmy G can make some of the simple throws that
(07:33):
for some reason Baker is not able to do and
that we saw today against the New York Giants in
a loss. I I just it's not fair. Life's not fair,
The NFL isn't fair. It's probably not fair to tray Lance.
But if they just get something like we we look
at this and it here'sn't like it's gonna be It's
gonna be Jimmy G's job. And then you look forward
(07:56):
and you know, jim if if Jimmy G ends up
leading them to a super Bowl or to an NFC
Championship game, now you've got your question if you're the
forty niners, and I think that they would know the
answer that probably have to pay him and probably pay
him what what he would want. They're they're not gonna
do that, damn. Because first thing is we are assuming,
(08:20):
we are assuming that he is going to play at
a at a high level or an acceptable level. That
is the first no. Actually, the first thing is we're
assuming that he's going to stay healthy, which he's done
all of like, well, he wasn't even healthy all the
last year, but he was healthy most of last last year.
So he hasn't even played like basically a full season. No,
(08:43):
he's played one full season since he's been in San
Francisco for over five five years. So we have to
assume that at some point point in time he may
go down and and if he doesn't, then you have
to assume that he's going to play well enough that
they then are like that that they are, you know,
(09:04):
want to sign him long term because Jimmy, Jimmy g
is not a forty five million dollar a year guy's
he's not, and that that's the going rate for a quarterback.
So they're essentially going to be in the same situation
this year as they were last year. There is something
though that that he has going for them and and
(09:25):
and got this going for him. And that's the fact of, Uh,
if I saved your butt, there's the I saved your
butt bonus. Because this this the NFL, then they don't
care about that. They I agree in the fact of,
like a rookie quarterback, you shouldn't look back at what
I've done. However, this is a team that publicly came
(09:47):
out and said we are looking to trade him. And
the only reason they didn't trade him is because whatever
was being offered was not what the forty Niners felt
was reasonable and and and so in all of this,
and and I don't want John Lynch or Kyle Shanahan
or anybody to take credit for this. It's the other
(10:08):
thirty one gms that should take credit for the forty
Niners being in the situation that they are because they
wouldn't give the forty Niners what they wanted. Forty Niners
fell backwards into this, the completely backwards, and then you
know the type of backwards that they fell. They were
They publicly came out and said that they were going
to trade Jimmy Garoppolo and that Trey Lance was their guy,
(10:29):
and whether that was the the the message to give
Trey Lance the team, that's fine. But when you go
out and say that, when Jimmy g comes in and
saves your butt because he ended up sticking around because
no team gave you what you wanted, uh for him,
then the other thirty one gms are the are the
m v p s. That's that's what happens. Yeah, so
(10:54):
I am just by the way. The Seahawks just throw
an interception. Uh, you're saying it in the end zone.
You're saying, man Gino Smith, bad decision. No, it's a
trip to play DJ Dallas. The running back ended up
throwing it right to the forty Niners defender. So an
interception for San Francisco thwarts a h Seahawks UH drive
(11:15):
into the UH forty Niners territory into the red zone.
The Seahawks had and I'll let you say, I just
want to set this up, George, the c X had
not one, not two, not three, but four running backs
line up in the backfield. They had Rashad Penny, they
had Kenneth Walker, they had Travis Homer, and they had
(11:36):
DJ Dallas and DJ Dallas is the one who ended
up throwing the interception. So the Niners continue to lead
against the Seahawks thirteen to nothing four minutes to go
until halftime in that game. Um, and Jimmy maybe doing
a lot of handing off in this contest. Now, oh, um, well, Dan,
there is some news today and uh and uh, I
(11:59):
don't know if you've seen it yet, and it is
from the world of college football, but we have breaking news,
breaking news from Fox Sports. Chris Cartman from two seven
has now and uh sun devil source from seven has
(12:20):
reported that HERM Edwards you play to win the game,
has been fired as head coach of Arizona State. Oh,
all right, there it is. That's a report. Uh. We
usually at the anchor to that. George, I didn't know
you were taking, uh Monty's job, But hey, that's all right,
you know, twenty minutes from now. No, it's not how
(12:43):
it works, you know what it's it's not the process.
But hey, all right, Herb Edwards out in the desert.
UH A lot going on with it. Who's gonna be
the interim? They know there's a bunch of you know guys,
isn't Marvin lewis there. Oh yeah, they they they have
like twenty uh. Brian Brian Billick is on the staff
(13:07):
and so like a consultant or something. He's not on
the sidelines, is he. I haven't seen any Arizona State
game this year. Nobody has seen any airs. Okay, they
they lost the Eastern Michigan last last night. Bro Herm
has been an unmitigated disaster there. But you play to
win the game, alright. So Herm Edwards is out in Tempe,
(13:28):
Trey Lance is out with the forty Niners, but they're
up on the Seahawks thirteen nothing approaching the two minute warning. Uh.
In Santa Clara, Denver and Houston arenotted up at three
apiece early in the second quarter, Denver just crossing midfield.
Raiders have a tend nothing lead on the Cardinals and
driving again with eight twenty three until halftime. And I
(13:48):
mentioned off the top of those two fourteen to three games,
it's still fourteen to three Rams and Falcons. Atlanta has
the football, getting a turnover of Matthew Stafford in the
end zone and now Atlanta's brought it out to at
least a midfield trying to put some points on the board,
more points on the board before half, but it's fourteen
to three Rams in that one thirty nine second still
halftime and the Cowboys with Cooper Rushes, their starting quarterback,
(14:09):
up fourteen to three on the Bengals t to go
until halftime, Bengals taking over a first and fifteen deep
in their own territory. He is George rice Stir, the
news maker and the news breaker. Get him on Twitter
at George rice Ster. You can find me on Twitter
at Dan Buyer. On Fox will continue to talk about
this train Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo situation and what transpired
(14:30):
today in New Orleans. There is absolutely no explanation for it.

(14:52):
and you may know me for the world of football

is for my entire life. I have lived in something
I refer to as the gray depression anxiety. So now
I'm coming out with a new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental

talk about mental health. I hope to describe it, give
(15:13):
it words. Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on the
I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get
your podcasts. Fox Sports Red Zone Radio coming here alive
with the tire rack dot Com Studios. The forty Niners
are in the end zone again. Kyle use Check a
one yard touchdown run all San Francisco today up on
(15:35):
the Seahawks twenty to nothing. Buck left to go in
a game where Trey Lance suffered an injury and then
Jimmy Garoppolo had to come in. It appears to be
a serious injury had to be carded off. Was in
an air cast the tray Lance day is done. The
question it is how much of his season is done.
The Rams are in the end zone now, opening up
(15:56):
a twenty one the three lead on the Falcons. Cooper
Cup with three yard touchdown reception from Matthew Stafford. Extra
point is good. They're just seconds away from the half
and the Raiders are in the end zone again, this
time Darren Waller a three yard touchdown pass from Derek
Carr Raiders up on the Cardinals seventeen and nothing. Cowboys
continue to leave the Bengals fourteen to three, while Houston
(16:17):
and Denver are noted up at three apiece nine minutes
to go until halftime in that game. In the Mile
High City, Buccaneers got quite a win today against the
New Orleans Saints. I'm curious on your thoughts, George, not
only on how things played out, but also what went
on between Mike Evans, Marshawn Lattimore, Bruce Arians, Leonard four
neat Tom Brady. If there are any other Staints or
(16:40):
Buccaneers I'm missing, you guys can let me know. I
want to get your thoughts on that in a sect.
But we do got to check in with some fantasy
numbers because it's been a crazy day throughout. Let's get
a look at our fantasy numbers. Our executive producer Bo Benson,
Fantasy heads and missus. Alright, Bo, who are are that
(17:00):
we've got so far? And we two of this NFL season.
That's right, We're not going to actually have to go
very far today because the quarterbacks for today we have
Lamar Jackson with three eighteen yards three touchdowns. He added,
a bunch of rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, I
believe as well. So if you have Lamar, you are
having a great day. Uh. Surprisingly two Otago Vloa the
(17:20):
opposing quarterback in that game, Uh four hundred and sixty
nine yards passing, six touchdowns and a couple of interceptions.
But uh yeah, he's on my bench right now, and
I really hope that does not come back to buying
all note at all, not at all, uh running back
real quick. Really, the best performance today by any running
back was Nick Chubb Seventeen attempts for eighty seven yards
(17:43):
and three touchdowns. Nobody, only, nobody else really worth mentioning,
which gives us an extra wide receiver to talk about.
Uh Tyreek Hill eleven receptions for a hundred and ninety
yards and two touchdowns. His teammate Jalen Waddle eleven receptions
for a hundred and seventy one yards and two touchdowns.
And then uh Amen Ross St. Brown in Detroit. He
is he's really a special kid. I think nine receptions
(18:05):
hundred and sixteen yards and two touchdowns from him today.
So those are those are your early winners in fantasy
there it is get bow Benson at Bow Benson. Is
it as civil as that at Bot Benson Boats Benson
the middle initial, So make sure you're not confused. There
is there another just Bow Benson out there? I think
there is, Yeah, I should have. I need to find
(18:25):
them and take care of them again at Dan Buyer
is a guy who likes to play guitar. We weren't
in on the game, like George Royster was. To get
his full name. We have to make adjustments to be
able to make art Twitter handles work. Uh. I mentioned
the Bucks and Saints. Not much was working for the
Saints today. I don't even care, George about the outcome
of the game. I care more about this fight that
(18:46):
occurred that got Mike Evans and Marshawn Lattimore ejected from
the game. And and this this rivalry, I mean really,
I actually think it's the best in football right now.
Like with these two teams. For a while it was
Steelers ravens Um. Maybe I'd Seahawks forty Niners, you know,
about a decade ago. But right now, like Saints Buccaneers
(19:06):
is so fierce. My My whole thing though, is like
how does Mike Evans and how does marchha On Lattimore,
like still have these feelings, like after you know, three
or four years of this, and it's not like they
haven't played in three or four years. They played each
other twice a year, but like, how does this continue
to happen where two veterans, two very good players, star
(19:29):
players continue to have these run ins and luckily for
Tampa Bay it didn't cost them. But when you're out
Julio Jones and there's no Chris Godwin, all of a sudden,
Mike Evans gets ejected. I I just I find it
crazy that we're still having this between the Buccaneers and Saints.
Why do you think that's crazy? Because at some point,
(19:49):
like when when it happens, you're like, okay, guys, all right,
I understand they're the hated team, you know, like, but
we can't be doing stupid stuff. And every single time
that that these teams play together, and it seems to
be actually only in New Orleans, these stupid things happened,
like like Mike Evans got ejected from a game where
Tom Brady had no other targets to really throw too
(20:12):
because of Julio Jones. I mean, it would have been
the Russell Gage Show and it ended up being The
Russell Gage Show and Cameron brad Show near the end
because there was nobody else to do that. But you
can't like as much as you hate the other guy
and don't like the team, and he may be waiving
the Tom Brady and chirping of Bruce Arians. You know,
it's just like Mike Evans was like, oh, here's my
opportunity to get the cheap shot on marsh On Laddimore. Like,
(20:34):
you can't be doing that sort of stuff if you
if you want to win game. And they won today,
so they're like, see we won, but still like, at
what point are you like, all right, we gotta move
on from this? Um? Okay, So in a regular season game,
in a regular season game that's particularly early in the season,
(20:55):
this sort of thing can cannot happen against with with
with teams that have playoff aspirations. If this for a
week seventeen this and you know they're fighting for playoff spots,
this doesn't escalate to where it escalated likely, right, So
so that that's one of the biggest parts about it
(21:16):
is that that doesn't happen the way that it does
depending on the circumstances. But when when, when you ask,
how do these things keep keep happening between these two teams?
This is obvious. These are two teams and players in particular,
because it's not even about the actual rivalry. It's about
the players in the game because they don't like each other.
(21:40):
And unless you get some sort of resolution with the
with the players, you are going to continue to have
this happen like if they don't, if they aren't able
to just like let what whatever it is go. And
one of the things that that fans don't always realize
is that people is that they think that a lot
(22:00):
of the stuff and a lot of the altercations that
happened on the field are football related, probably the majority
of them are, but some of them are have nothing
to do with football at all. Some of them are
actually life related. And when you have the life related things,
those things don't smooth out and get and get over
(22:22):
with very easily at all, because some of them are
are what people feel is unforgivable and all of that.
So then when when life stuff trickles over in the football,
those things are never able to get over and as
soon as somebody says the wrong, wrong thing, like they
go into the day saying, all right, we are gonna
(22:42):
do the right things, and then somebody says the wrong thing.
And remember it was Tom Brady who kind of escalated
this one. Well no, sorry, it was a lot of
more talking to the bench and then Tom Brady saying
something to him, and then you had Leonard for Net
getting involved, and then that that's when Mike Mike Kevins
was like, okay, cool, get I get a free shot here, pal.
(23:06):
That is an opportunity. That's my that is my issue
with it that when you have it's it's we're like
we're getting into Kevin Bacon territory. We are like six
like degrees of separation from the original arguer. And it
was like it was our Shawn Latimore chirping with Bruce
Arians and then Brady walks by, or he walks past
(23:28):
Brady and says something. Brady turns his head, yeah, like
like you laid it out, like Mike Evans was fourth
on the list. He was fourth in the line, you know,
to the crown of being able to fight with Marshawn Lattimore.
And that's my problem with it. When you're that far down,
when you're that far down the line, you're not the
one like like it's over letter that deal with that's
(23:49):
who has to be the enforcer, Like somebody has to
be the enforcer, and it is going to be And
obviously Tom Brady can't do it, like he first of all,
he can't do it, and he can't do it. Yes,
he can't do it and he can't do it, like
so both of those things that you wand to say,
he can't do it and he can't do it, and
(24:11):
this and the second thing is is that is that
uh Leonard for for Nett definitely could could have done it,
and he's and he was sticking up for Tom Brady
and Mike and Mike Evans was like, I hate this
m effort anyway, So here it goes, buddy, And I
was like, hey, I'm free, are you know? Fight three?
(24:34):
Get the fourth one free? And Evan's like, yeah, I'm
gonna take like that. Here's the other here's another part
of it though. You're like when Gretzky wasn't the enforcer
for the Edmonton Oilers or l A. King's like, you
can't have your best players be the guy to go
and do that sort of stuff. Now, I understand there's
the personal history or whatever is going on between them,
(24:56):
but that's the other point of it. It's like you
know that this is gonna happen, and it just keeps
on happening, like it keeps on popping up and it
keeps on all right, there's another Mike Evans and Marshawn
Lattimore argument. That's just the point of at some point
you just have bigger fish to fry. Yeah, and and
and the Bucketeers gonna win today. But I just I
can't believe how this stuff keeps on happening. It is.
(25:17):
It is crazy. Get George, We're never gonna stop. Bro.
It has to that something. It's not. It's not because
this is something to me, it seems bigger than football.
And if it's bigger, then then then football until the
life part gets wrapped up or unless I'm not sure
if Mike Evans is married or not, or if he's close,
(25:40):
if whether he listens to his mom or his dad
or or or whoever, it is that that those are
the things that are going to that that they're like, Mike,
stop it, like like we're not doing this no more
like you you're and you're costing us, US money, Yes,
us money. And so it's gonna take somebody in his
(26:03):
life that is going to you know, like force some
some sort of change. Maybe maybe I need to embrace
this because maybe we have too much like it. He like,
you know in the NFL, where guys are are all right,
old school man slices. Yeah, he dies, he dies, that's
the way, that's the way they feel. Oh man, the
Saints died today, only mustering ten points. No Alvin Kamara.
(26:25):
I'm sure that doesn't help the cause, but Buccaneers get
that victory. All right, Let's get a look at what
else happened in week two, plus the five games going
on right now. Jumping over to the news desk, Monty
Blas gives us the latest of what is happening in
the week two. What's going on? I want to just
talk about the way that Mike Evans and Marshawn Latimore
shove each other every like. Those shoves are hard, hard.
(26:48):
They should played for the University of Houston. That's how
Oh no, they only fight teammates, stand for each other.
This is this is a little different, but it looks personal,
right and it does, it does, and it's every in
good time three fights in the last five years with
those two guys, Like absolutely, but like it looks personal.
Those shoves come from something deep, you know, Like it's crazy.
(27:10):
How about Tom Brady getting getting veteran rest day Did
you guys hear about that? He's gonna have Wednesday's off now? Yeah, wait,
it happens throughout the Tom Brady is getting a veteran
rest day off every Wednesday, every wed every Wednesday. That
is insane. See on Thursday, see you on Thursday. Yeah, Hey,
(27:32):
that that's not veteran rest. I'm telling you that that
is personal. Rent. That's all right now it yourself has
to work Tuesday and Wednesday, so and and and you're
already off in the NFL on Tuesday, yeah and so
like you would think that they're like, Okay, we'll take
Monday and Tuesday off. That would that would not surprise anybody,
(27:55):
but the but the winds day off when day the
first day back to work, like you are going over
installed for the entire week. Bro, That is I'm gonna
tell you Tom Brady. Tom Brady is going to be
lucky if he makes it. If he's able to make
(28:16):
it through the rest of this season and I'm telling
and I said it, Monsey, and you tell me if
this is true as a when you are a man
and you have a or or a woman and you
have a family, and clearly things are going on that
that when it comes down to it, if a choice
has to be made, he's either going to have to say,
(28:37):
here lies a football player on his tomb or here
lies Tom Brady to foot the family man. Yep, yep,
it's coming down to that. It really seems. It seems
as though there was an agreement between him and his
wife yourself, and maybe that agreement is not exactly what
she agreed for him to do. Now to come back,
you know what I mean. Something happened, something, something happens
(28:59):
for no reason. App starts on Wednesday. Well right now
in the NFL, we do five games going on somewhere
at halftime, like the Rams and the Falcons. But the
Rams are up twenty one to three Matt Stafford fourteen
of sixteen for a hundred and twenty four yards and
two touchdowns. The forty Niners and the Seahawks also halftime,
and the Niners are up twenty to zero on the Seahawks.
(29:21):
With the big story is that Trey Lance and the
first quarter was carded off with an air cast on
his right leg. It seems as though it's an ankle
injury has been ruled out. Lucky for them, Jimmy g
is there and they are up zero. The Cowboys are
up on the Bengals. I don't like this because I
have Joe Burrow as one of my quarterbacks, and like
you Bow, I actually have to h in my bench
(29:42):
right now, and I played Joe Burrow. But right yeah,
I know, I know, I know. Okay, look at the
Cowboys are up on the Bengals. But it's early fourteen
to three ninety seconds to go in the first half.
The Texans are up on the Broncos sixty three, less
than six minutes to go in the second quarter, and
the Eighters are up on the Cardinal seventeen zero. We're
about to go into halftime. Derek Carr sixteen hundred and
(30:05):
nine five yards, two touchdowns. Earlier today, Miami came back.
They were down three scores and beat the Ravens forty
two to thirty eight. Lamar Jackson NFL record eleven hundred
yard rushing game and included a seventy nine yard touchdown.
Run for him. The Jets came back to and they
beat the Browns thirty one to thirty. Kevin Durant tweeted,
(30:25):
I feel hurt watching that Cleveland game. Tough loss. Jaguars
dominated the Colts to zero. The Patriots beat the Steelers
by a field goals seventeen to fourteen. The Giants also
beat the Panthers by a field goal nineteen to sixteen,
and the lie against handled the Commanders thirty six to
twenty seven. Jared Goff two hundred and fifty six yards
and four touchdowns for Jared Goff, who would have thunk
(30:46):
it back to you guys, Oh no, no, no, wait
wait Jared Judge judge fifty eight and fifty ninth homer
today against the Brewers and they're currently up. He's gonna
get to sixty Back to you guys. Yes, thank you
very much. Mon Z. It is Fox Sports Red Zone
Radios where it coming to you live from the Tirac
(31:08):
dot Com studios. She mentioned Lamar Jackson's one hundred yard
rushing day today and how seventy nine of those of
the one d nineteen came on that one touchdown run.
These were the running totals. Is there's no J. K.
Dobbins today for Baltimore. Justice Hill had three carries for
sixteen yards. Kenyan Drake six carries eight yards, Mike Davis
(31:30):
five carries four yards. Mark Andrews got to carry. I
assume that it was maybe a backwards pass. It's just
what I'm guessing, one for three yards, and uh Patrick
a caired the fullback one carry for five yards. So
you take away the seventy nine yarder, and then Lamar
would have eight carries for forty yards. Um. No other
(31:53):
running back broke six twenty yards, Like that's an issue.
That's that's how you blow a seven and lead like that.
If you had a recipe that that was flour butter
and no running game, that's what that That's one of
the ways that you blow seven lead that the Ravens
had today on the Dolphins, that if it wasn't even
(32:15):
on their offense. They came into the fourth quarter with
a twenty one point lead and they and they scored
a field goal. I mean, like, do you, like, do
you realize that you essentially had twenty four points in
the fourth quarter, like you were up by twenty four
points and you lost in regulation? I mean that's that's
(32:37):
what what happened. And it's the It wasn't the offense,
it was the Ravens defense. Because the Ravens offense got
some first downs, it was their defense they dropped too.
I'm sorry they dropped Trek Hill twice. On one of them,
he could have walked in the end though, Dan Dann me,
me or me or you could have scored or on
(33:00):
one of them, they just dropped him. If you give
up one play touchdowns, that's that's how you lose. It's
it's not just the fact that that they were um
that the Ravens didn't run the ball well because that
it's it's when you give up huge touchdowns like so quickly,
(33:24):
that's how you lose games. And this was a game
that the Ravens had complete control over. And I think
that there's gonna be a lot of irrational to praising
after after this game because I'm like, one of the
touchdowns he threw the Tarik Hill if if Peters had
even like had any awareness, he could have intercepted it.
(33:46):
But I mean he underthrew them on like a forty
yard touch and I had to come to a complete stop,
like I was not impressed by two at all today.
But one of this is that's one of the isn't
that one of the issues? Like what do you want
the guy to do? Look, I mean like, how in
the world is how in the world is he going
to impress you if throwing for four hundred and seventy
(34:08):
yards and having his team come back, And I mean,
how in the world is that? I mean, is it
just broken coverage after broken coverage after broken coverage the
same guy is the is the winds above replaced? I'm
I'm saying that that you could have Like, like, for instance,
there there are sometimes when you look at a game
(34:30):
and you're like, bro, that was incredible. It like there
are only maybe one or two other guys in the
entire league who could have done that, right, And then
there are sometimes where you look and you're like, like
I believe and I'm like, no, no hyperbole, but because
I have nothing against to it, Like I don't hate
(34:53):
the Dolphins anything like that, But when I look at
the league, I'm like, Okay, Derek Carr could have done that. Uh,
Matthew Stafford could have done that, Joe Burrow could have
done that. Like they're like I can name fifteen quarterbacks
who could have done what two had did today under
those circum circumstances, because he was not good before that.
(35:16):
He wasn't until they started playing terrible defense. Do you
think Daniel Jones could have done that? Because that's the question, Like,
like I I know, it's like an impossible because who
wants to watch Daniel Jones play? But that's the point
with two is we treat him like he's the thirtieth
best quarterback in the National Football League on all he
has to do is just be around fifteen or twenty
(35:40):
or to be able to do that and make those throws,
and and and and to your point about the Ravens defense,
well put, every time I looked up though, the only
time that I looked up in the Ravens at the
football is when Lamar Jackson was running down the field
on that seventy nine yard Otherwise, every time I seem
to look up and watching the games, the Dolphins had
the football, you know, and he they're on the move
and here Tyreek Kill gets beyond the defense and yeah,
(36:02):
one of them was, you know, the one that was underthrown.
Maybe got a little bit lucky on it. But the
point is just we don't. We don't ever give him
any breaks. We don't. We don't. And and I'm saying
good job today, I'm saying he did a good job
like that. There's nothing that you can take away from
what he did to to today. I'm just and I'm
(36:27):
and I'm saying that that you can't say anything about
him needing to be replaced anything like that. But I'm
also saying, like, don't turn this into like a CEE
I told you so about to I don't think that
you can say that. Let's continue there. Suddenly, on the
other side of things, Rams looking to score again. They're
in the red zone, up eighteen on the Falcons, nearing halftime.
(36:48):
Dallas has the football up eleven on Cincinnati, Dallas looking
to add some points. Raiders trying to add some points
at the end of the half, going for a fifty
five yard field goal. Houston continuously den or six three
and they're just underway in San Francisco, where Jimmy g
has taken over for the injured trade Lance. It's twenty
to nothing at Niners over the Seahawks, and that Daniel
Carlson from fifty five is good. We'll continue that talk
(37:11):
on two and so much more next year on Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. It's a Fox Sports Football Sunday
Red Zone Radio here on Fox Sports Radio. He's George
rice Stir, the NFL VET. Get him on Twitter at
George rice Stir. You can find me Dan Buyer on
Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox five Light Games going
on right now too. At the half, Raiders on top
of the Cardinals, twenty nothing Cowboys lead the Bengals seventeen
(37:33):
to three in Denver. George, That's where I want to
start this, and we'll we'll continue our to a talk
in about seven minutes or so, because I think it
is a very very interesting discussion on how we all
take into his uh day to day George City had
made the throws that he had to made, but that's
not worthy of a metal or a ribbon. We'll talk
about that again coming up in seven minutes. But the
(37:54):
Broncos here are facing a They were first and goal
from the five yard line, Russell Wilson through an incomplete pass,
second goal brought it down to the one yard line,
and then now an incomplete pass as them at fourth
down and goal, essentially the one or two yard line.
(38:14):
George right now Nathaniel Hackett as the field goal unit
out on the field down three three seconds to go
until halftime. Is this gonna be another situation where we
pick apart what Nathaniel Hackett has done and is doing
to his team in this situation. No, no, no, I
(38:36):
actually would kick the field goal in in this situation
only because you have no momentum, like like you've been
on the goal, like this is your sixth play inside
the three yard line and you haven't gotten in the
end zone. Like this is literally your sixth play and
(38:59):
you haven't got anything going. So this this is an
offense problem. I have said from I said it after
the last week that Nathaniel hack It he's not gonna
make it three three years as the head coach of Broncos.
It is not gonna happen. And it's not because it
won't be because of Russell Wilson, won't be because of
(39:20):
anything else. It will be because the offense is terrible,
like they like. And then he doubled down on his
even in trying to say, yeah, I should have done
something different, he doubled down or he was like, yeah,
we our goal was to get to the forty six
you have four minutes to go. How was that your goal?
If it was just he's just I'm not buying it.
(39:41):
At this point, We've got uh, We've got Iowa. Sam
would like to uh to chime in with a punt
here and George. So, George, you're saying that Nathaniel, Uh,
he can't hack it, is what you're saying. Binger. I
like that. I like that, but he's here all we can.
Parker say that earlier this week, Sam, I don't know.
(40:03):
I wasn't listening there. It is new day, you know,
new new ownership players. George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer.
The field goal was good. Texans and Broncos tied at
six to A talk coming up next year on Fox
Sports Radio. Welcome aboard. It is week two, yes, five
games in this window, and you may have just hurt
Ronz Blano say, the Seahawks scored. How could the Seahawks
(40:26):
score when the forty Niners just had the football, only
blocked the field goal, ran it back for a touchdown
and this was a chip shot attempt. George, Seahawks. I
don't want to say they get back in it, but
they get on the scoreboard with the special teams play.
It is twenty seven Niners on top of Seattle with
five left in the third. Congratulations Drake London, the rookie
(40:48):
of touchdown reception. Falcons they aren't in it as well,
but they are on the scoreboard again. It's to nine
extra point pending as Marcus Mariotta has thrown the four
yard touched down pass to the USC rookie. And every
time I see the Cardinals, I see uh Kyler Murray
running for his life. Just saw James Conner on the field.
(41:08):
So it's a tough day for Arizona as they are
down against the Raiders twin into nothing. The other two
games again Denver and Houston. You just heard Monsey say
tied and Dallas still up two scores. Extra point was good,
by the way, uh from Young Wai Coup. So the
Falcons are down down ten in that matchup in l A.
We are broadcasting live from the tirect dot com studios.

Tirect dot com will help you get there and unmatched

your position on ont of today and for those that
missed it, this is why we are bringing it back.
The Dolphins rally from down uh three scores to come
(41:52):
back and beat the Ravens three scores. In the fourth quarter.
They outscored Baltimore three to a tongue of Valoa thirty
six and fifty four and sixty nine yards six touchdown passes.
Did throw two interceptions in this game. But let's let's
talk about how TO is going to be viewed after
this game, because I think this is this is part
(42:14):
of of the root of the problem that I see
with two UH George, is that we want him to
be this top tier guy, like this top five, top
ten guy, and he may not be. He probably isn't
going to be. I have accepted that. I have accepted,
and I think other people need to accept that his
(42:36):
his ceiling is like a Derek Carr guy like like
like that that is the ceiling. If if he can
reach that, the Dolphins should be happy because that's best
case scenario, I mean absolute best case scenario. And um,
but two OF today had a statistically fantastic game. Like
(42:57):
when you look at this box score, you're like thirty
six for fifty four sixty nine, six touchdowns, two picks,
only one sack. You're like, bro, this is incredible. But
then when you understand and you watched the game, like
the Ravens defense deserves as much credit as too it
does for this output, like that, through three quarters tour
(43:21):
was below average. He was playing below average quarterback play,
and then the Ravens defense started dropping wide wide receivers
and then it made it look like too it was
cooking all game, and that wasn't what happened at all.
So he deserves some credit for making the requisite throws,
(43:41):
but if he can't make those throws, he doesn't he
doesn't need to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
Like those are routine plays that he has to make.
I mean, there was there was, there was there was
one that he did do nice little spinny thing in
and got out. But Jimmy, Jimmy Garoppolo could have done
(44:04):
exactly what he did today. Like there there wasn't anything
that you looked at this and you were like, oh my,
oh my god, that was Patrick my homes I and
that was Aaron RODGERI, that was you know, uh, Tom
Brady in like like it wasn't one of those things
where you saw throws and play where you were like, bro,
(44:24):
that is unbelievable. I don't know how he fit that
in there. I don't know how he saw that. You're
just like, okay, he threw it the white open guys.
But but but then like this then goes under. And
I'm not trying to not trying to be tricky or
trying to use some sort of weird twisting, you know,
riddle uh to get you to say that to a
(44:45):
is a a you know, top half quarterback. It's just
I look at the NFL and I look at look
at the first window today, like there aren't thirty two
good quarterbacks in the National Football League? Correct, Like there
there aren't. And and you know, like we we've got
Adam Kaplan coming out. And remember the argument last year
(45:05):
of us talking about like the value of a backup quarterback,
and I just I know what worked out for the
forty niners year, but they again fell backwards into it.
I don't think that there's any value for backup quarterbacks
because usually if your star quarterback is done, you're done.
But but in some cases, I mean, if you're backup quarterback. Okay,
for for instance, prime example, Joe Joe Flacco is their
(45:28):
backup quarterback. He he has value and a lot of
times they go with especially when they have a young quarterback,
they go with backups who don't have any experience and
they're just kind of toking guys. But it's important when
you have a and they're either trying trying to be
(45:50):
cheap or something else big because a lot of the
good quarterbacks they don't want to do the backup thing.
So when it comes time for their careers to kind
of come come to a close, like yeah, I'm done,
I don't want to do that. And I mean because
as you look throughout the league, Jacoby Brissette, he's been
(46:11):
a decent like he's a decent back, Like he's a
he's the guy that you want to be your backup,
like a guy that if your starter is out for
a couple of games, he can get you a couple
of wins. But he's gonna be no threat. Nobody's ever
gonna look in Cleveland and be like, man, Jacoby Brissette
(46:32):
should be our starter, you I mean correct, same thing
with Gino Smith. Nobody's ever going to like if if
if the Seahawks had a you know, a you know,
a top tier starting quarter quarterback, nobody's ever gonna say,
oh my god, Geno should be starting. You. I mean
that that that those are the guys that you really
(46:53):
want to be your backups, like NFL veterans, guys that
don't have that aren't trying to play for their careers,
that that they're already financially stable and that they can
come in and be like okay, cool, yeah, yeah. If
if I have to hold this down for a minute, cool,
But you know, uh, I understand that when the starter
(47:13):
comes up back, and I actually want the starter to
come back. Like I remember talking talking to Kellen Clemens
about that a few like two years prior to his
uh last season, when he was playing behind Philip Rivers
and I was we were on a plane and he
was like, bro, I'm happy being being the backup. One
(47:34):
time last year, I thought Philip got hurt and I
was like, no, get up, get up, and he had
to come in and play for a second and he
was and he was like, okay, cool, Philip, alright cool.
And he was like he felt no sadness in his
in his heart, nothing. He was like, bro, I've been
doing doing this like ten eleven years. I'm good any
(47:54):
any takes that we're going to hear this week on two.
I think is is expected because there are gonna be
people whoill be like, see two two it is the guy.
Those that are pro toua that are is the guy.
But then those that are against him, we're gonna say, like, no,
he's not. He's not a top five quarterback. But I
don't think that that's over the argument. I think the
people that aren't a fan of two are gonna be
(48:16):
saying what you're saying is, you know what, for three
quarters he was pedestrian and then when they had nothing
to lose, he ended up coming back. But at something.
My thing is, Dan, I'm just like, let's not rush
to I'm like tempering expectations with with the possibility that
too can go up. Okay, I'm just tempering expect expectations.
(48:39):
I'm not saying that that he can't be a really
like like that they afforded that the UM Miami Dolphins
can't be happy with him as their starting quarterback. Not
not saying that at all. I'm saying that people are
gonna try to like it. Like you were saying, they're
gonna try to garner too much from today when you
(48:59):
actually need to see it done more than just today.
And and that's fair, but I think that they're also
going to be people that are are gonna pooh pooh
his performance for some of the critiques that you had
and just will never allow the guy to have any
moment in the sun. And what I think is is
really intriguing and something that we haven't mentioned in talking
about two for about twelve minutes like we've done on
(49:21):
this show, whether it be this segment or a previous segment,
is it we don't talk about now what it's like
to have an offensive coach be your head coach and
now adding a weapon like you do with Tyreek Hill,
and like just just maybe the coaching that that Toa
(49:41):
is getting is going to help save his career with
what the Dolphins are doing. Like there's even just that
point of it that we don't we don't talk about.
We're we're so we're so focused on on what he
does and what take we can we can use to
be able to critique him instead of just being like,
you know what, Mike McDaniel could be pretty good for
for for this guy's career and maybe TWA doesn't do
(50:03):
what he did today last year, but he did do
it this year. And I don't think that there are
thirty one other quarterbacks there maybe fifteen, there may there
may be more than that, but I don't think that
there are thirty other quarterbacks thirty one other quarterbacks that
could have done what he did today. And there are
quarterbacks that there are thirty one other how many? How
many other ones do you think there are? Though? Um,
(50:27):
I think that you could get I think you could
get fifteen to twenty like here, like the Jets today
and Joe Flacco like coming back from their their game
against the Browns, like Browns that that was lucky to
the coy Davis is the same thing. That's the my
My point about this though is as well as the
Browns that they recover the onside kick end up winning
(50:47):
the game, but they don't. So it allows Joe Flacco
the opportunity to, you know, give more throws, like I
think to what maybe you should get more more love
than Joe Flacco did, even though the Jets, you know,
rallied from the too or deficit late because as you said,
it was a bust in coverage, but Joe Flacco not
to sit on the fence and did find the open guy.
And there aren't quarterbacks that can do that. And and
(51:10):
you know, I look at you know, you look at
two that played today with the Giants and Panthers, and
you know, Baker Mayfield and Daniel Jones. Just Daniel Jones
made a play with his legs that won the game
for the Giants today. There was never a play that
was made with his arm that you said that that
was good. You know that that was the play that
ended up making it. Baker Mayfield didn't really make any
place today with his arm other than maybe a touchdown
(51:32):
pass the d J. Moore like that. That's and and
so that those are some of the guys that that
you're talking talking about. Carson Wentz had a great day
statistic wise against the Lions. I don't think Carson Wentz
is that guy. I don't know if you ever was
that guy, but I don't think that that's the case.
So at least we have to give to us some
of that credit where you know, and that's where I
think that where we are with with two is even
(51:55):
on a great performance, the two haters will never give
him credit, and then the two supporters are gonna be
trying to point to this and we'll point to this game,
by the way, for the next two years and trying
to make their their cases for him. But I just
don't think it's fair if we don't give him credit
for no matter what the Ravens did defensively to come
(52:16):
back from the scores that he did to make the
throws and they all weren't bombs. There were a couple
of you know plays late that he made in the
end zone, a jail and waddle touchdown. You know he
needs credit for those as well. Yes, yes, he deserves
credit for that. They just need to temper the expectations,
just just a tad bit and say, all right, cool,
(52:38):
maybe he was good and but we can't expect this
on a day in and day out basis. Cowboys lead
the Bengals seventeen to six. Cincinnati kicked the field goal
one left in the third quarter. Uh, Cincinnati gonna be
kicking off to Dallas mentioned the Falcons getting into the
end zone. Rams have the football and are driving now
in Atlanta territory up to end Nearing the end of
(53:00):
the third quarter, Seahawks have the football down thirteen to
the nine Ers twenty seven. Seahawks taking over deep it's
out their own territory, have a second and four from
their own nineteen yard line. Denver and Houston tied up
at six. Broncos appeared to turn the football over to Houston.
Is there early in the second quarter and the Cardinals
have yet to score. Raiders twenty Arizona nothing left to go.
(53:26):
Cliff Kingsbury's got that contract extension. I don't know how
hot you see it is, but it's not off to
a great start for for Arizona in Las Vegas today.
Also not a great start for one NFL head coach.
We'll get to that in just a sec. I want
to let you know, football fans be sure to tune
into Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Bet
MGM on Sunday morning, three hours before kickoff. That's right.
(53:49):

(54:09):
Glad to have you with us on this Fox Football Sunday.
Five games going on right now, and we do have
some points in Arizona Cardinals getting into the end zone.
Greg Dortch a touchdown reception courtesy of Kyler Murray. And
right now that's the Raiders Arizona seven niners for that
(54:29):
lead on the Seahawks. Early in the fourth quarter, Texas
settled for a field goal, but they're up on Denver
nine six. Midway through the third Dallas continues to lead
Cincinnati seventeen six, and Matt Gains just kicked a short
field goal. Rams are up three scores, thirty one to
ten on the Falcons. Twelve minutes to go in that
contest in l A. We are live from the tirect
dot Com studios. He's George Rice. To get hiout Twitter
(54:51):
at George Riceter. You can find me on Twitter at
Dan Buyer. On Fox. Our next guest you can find
on Twitter at Kaplan NFL. Here, I'm on the Inside
the Birds podcast Sirius x M NFL radio and right
now is our Fox Sports Radio NFL in center Adam
Kaplan joints just to talk week to what's going on? Adam,
How are you guys gonna talk to you? What a day? Really?
Just it's kind of like the opposite day of what
(55:11):
you thought would happen. The the opposite happened, which is
actually kind of good because the Cleveland game is an
unbelievable example, that Dolphin game where they're getting smoked, embarrassed.
It looks like the Browns are gonna run off with
that game? Who who I mean? You can't it's you
just can't explain. We don't enough time to explain how
these teams choked. And look the Detroit got a huge
(55:31):
lead and they almost blew it. They good for them
that they got their first win. Certainly a fun day
in the natural Football League. It absolutely was. George and
I were just talking about TOAs day and statistically how
it is off the charts. Um they scored twenty eight
points in the fourth quarter. George, I don't want to
put words in your mouth, but go ahead and tell
Adam your your thoughts. Adam that I looked at this
(55:54):
and I was like, okay, like that people are gonna
garner too much about to about this. I thought it
was he was great in the fourth Well, I thought
it was good in the fourth quarter. But I think
that they're probably fifteen other quarterbacks based upon how the
Ravens played deep is they could do exactly what what
he did. Well, here's the thing with two. We need
to understand. He plays a certain way. He'll never change.
(56:16):
He doesn't have a strong arm. He's not gonna grow
three and he's not gonna put on twenty pounds. He's
a quick, rhythm, get the blood of your hands type quarterbacks,
sort of like a point guard. And that's really what
he is. That's all he'll ever be. He's not all
of a sudden gonna have a great arm. You have
to throw it over the middle. This is a good
fit this offense, Mike McDaniel's West Coast offense, which he's
taking a big page from Kyle Shanaham. It's actually a
(56:37):
very good fit for him. It should work to a
certain degree. And you see the speed that they have.
I mean, the two kids took over Tyreek Hill and
of course uh waddle who it's funny last year and
I and Mike McDaniel was funny. He made he made
fun of waddle average less than ten yards per catchual,
while it's probably average over twenty this year, and it's
a running after the catch offense. It's really not throwing
(56:58):
a deep bit. A couple of shots on field on
coverage where they simply didn't cover the receiver. But yeah,
I don't I don't want to say, like fifteen quarterbacks
should have done that. Look, you have to make throws
like that, you know, you have to be accurate, you
have to get the body of hands that you can't
being decisive too. Was decisive today. And by the way,
when he struggles, he's not decisive. He takes hits and
he shouldn't take. So he's definitely made progress these two games.
(57:21):
But it's only two games. I give them unbelievable credit.
One of the greatest comebacks we've seen in a long time.
And of course the Jets one. I don't even want
to talk to the Browns this week. I feel so
bad for him. I thought I thought the Ravens collapse
was worse in the way of not how it transpired
in Cleveland, but it was like a slow burn where
(57:42):
the Dolphins were scoring and scoring. Like if the Browns
just make one play games basically over on like three
different occasions, you know, or they don't lose, like extra
point on side kick, recovering, not have a bust in coverage,
you do any of those, you know, three things, and
you're an overtime or you win the game. And and
and that's where I thought the Ravens was was worse
(58:03):
because of the opportunities they mean to come back. Right there,
they're up. The Ravens are thirty five to fourteen after three,
and it's just the Miami look moribun, they look. Look,
they almost didn't care. And this is a series of plays.
Like you said, they just had to get one play
and then you know, the issues that the Ravens have
(58:23):
a corner showed up today, no doubt about it. Marcus
Peters coming back from his knee injury. I don't know
that he's himself yet. He didn't playing week when they
held him out. They also obviously the Marvel was terrific
today by the way he threw the ball really well.
They didn't they didn't ask him to throw the ball
because they didn't need to because they had they had
such a big lead. But I'll tell you what and
this is this is a fact. This is a this
(58:43):
is something that I know Raven fans are gonna start
talking about because it's a factor. John Horrible did not
want the great Don wink Martindale back. He just didn't
want him back. They they called it mutual, but let
me tell you the real story. He didn't want him back.
And wink uh is doing a very good job with
not a lot of talent with the Giants. You know,
I know they sound like the Giants played a juggernaut
of offense the first two weeks, but they won. They
(59:06):
found a way to win. And the Ravens were horrendous
today on defense. They should be embarrassed. I mean Mike
McDonald who was with them before it was with Michigan
as a decordator. He uh, he comes back here and
uh certainly has not looked very good, particularly today, not
at all. Um. And we also talked about uh this
well briefly about Jared Golf, and I have been a
(59:30):
Jared Golf defender, if you will that that I think
he's much better than people that they give him credit
for it because he was young in his career when
he was with the rams and people like, oh, he
can't do this, he can't do that. Well, he was
like a third third year player at the time, and
now the it doesn't look like that the Detroit Lions
(59:53):
are looking for a quarterback. Well, they have to make
a decision George by the middle of March on his contract.
He's got him some money that becomes fully guaranteed, so
they'll have to think about it. But the fact of
the matter is if you protect him well, because he's
a guy that not a great athlete, he's sort of
a highly programmed quarterback. If you get him off schedule,
he really struggles. He you need to have a run game.
(01:00:15):
He's a quarterback, and obviously you don't want him throwing
a ton. But if you protect him, me throws a
really nice ball. The other line, by the way down
three starters today. I have to give them credit. I
know that the Washington defense was terrible, but they're without
the entire middle of their offensive line, both cards in
their center. This is a game Washington's gotta look back
and say, how do we lose this game? This is
game that clearly should have won. They have better talent,
(01:00:36):
but the heart that the Lions show and they had
a tough loss. Yet last week they've they've grown up,
you know, almost eighty points of the Eagles and two games.
But I give him credit for bouncing back. Uh, this
would have been obviously the death melt. They would have
lost their two first games at home and you could
have could have written him off. But it's a good win.
But goff is you know, George, It depends when you
talk to in the NFL. I think people were mixed
(01:00:58):
on him in the draft and at sixteen, whether it
was here Carson Wentz and I just don't think golf
is a like an elite player, never will be elite player.
He's probably he's better an average, but you need to
have a lot around him. And I thought they did
a great job today of protecting him. I was very
surprised by that Falcons get into the end zone. Uh,
still a Rams lead, but it's thirty one of sixteen,
eight fourteen left to go. Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports
(01:01:21):
Radio NFL in Center, joining US Bengals not within eight
of Dallas. He's George Royster, I'm Dan Buyer. It is
week two. What about Matt Rule and Carolina? We knew
that he was on the hot seat. And then this season,
Uh close games. I mean Scott Frost, we talked about
him in Nebraska and he's out of a job. Of
close games comes down to coaching. They lose another close
one today. How hot is that seat in Charlotte for Rule? Look,
(01:01:44):
it was it was warm to start the season. It's
getting warmer. He had the biggest hour on his back.
There's no doubt when in terms of what's going to
happen to keep his job. Look at the owner Tempers,
a billionaire's paying him seven million a year. He gave
personnel control though I'm told that Rule has done it
pretty much as seedd at to Scott fit over the GM,
(01:02:04):
He's done a good job of handing off fact they
had a very good offseason. There's no there's no doubt
it's Baker Mayfield. Now. I give Mayfield a lot of
credit for the previous game, bringing them back when they
were down, and they should have won that game obviously.
Kate York hits almost an impossible vehicle really far to
win it for Cleveland in Week one. But this week, Uh,
their offense, they've got to be disappointed. Uh, you know,
(01:02:27):
only putting up sixteen points, a bunch of field goals.
Christian McCaffrey. In terms of the past game has not
been a factor, which has been surprising with Ben McAdoo
being the offensive coordinator, and you know, they rebuilt their
offensive line for new starters, new punter, a lot of help.
They feel like their secondary has been solidified. They just look,
it's only two games, but you're right to bring it up.
(01:02:47):
He's coming into the seas and he absolutely had the
hottest seat and it's only going to get warmer. I
speaking of hot seats, I think that Broncos head coach
that Daniel had it that his seat is gonna get
pretty pretty hot pretty fast unless something something changes. What
did you make about the decision last last week and
(01:03:08):
then kind of the defending of it, saying we were
trying to get to the fort and now how the
offense is playing today. Well, first of all, when you
have a time out, you talk. You don't need to
do that. That was that was a absurd They had
three I know, I know. And here's the problem. This
is not Denver, the mile high air. I don't know
what he's thinking about. Just ridiculous. Had this been Denver,
(01:03:32):
maybe you could you could consider the field goal, but no,
it wasn't. It was in Seattle that was as dumb.
The offense was so off. I know, Dan, being a
Seahawk fan, you have to be pulling your hair hair out.
It was embarrassing. Look, I give Geno Smith credit. I
mean look right, and and Dan what he is as
(01:03:53):
a backup quarterback was having a start because they have
nobody else, and he's been a very accurate by the way,
we could say what we want this complete rates is
like over the first two games as we speak, probably
closer to eighty. But he's a he's a he's a
journeyman quarterback. He's only there as a stop gap for
this season. He will not be the start in quarterback
in twenty three. That I could tell you as a
(01:04:15):
fact will not happen. He will not be the starter.
But they're in a rebuild. Well I don't see how
the Seahawks don't like talking about that. But getting back
to Denver, they have a very talented roster. They have
a new offensive coordinator, new head coach, and a play caller.
They've looked awful the first two weeks, particularly an offense
defensively been They've been competitive but offense, they've looked pitiful. Now,
the strange use of the running backs very odd. Their
(01:04:38):
offensive line has been okay. But Russell Wilson. And here's
the other problem. The the the structure of the passing
game is very bizarre. Not a lot of crossers. They need,
They need place to get at a Russell Wilson's hands.
Get him comfortable like Andy Reid did last year with
Patrick Mahomes in the second half, when Mahomes is struggling,
get the ball out of his hands. And that's that's
what's gonna turn this offense around. It's so funny when
(01:04:58):
George asked the question because the Broncos had a fourth
and two at midfield and just in this game against Houston,
they converted six yard pass to Courtland Sutton. But they
went for it on fourth and do at midfield down
three to the Texans midway through the third quarter. Uh,
and they got the first down. Last one for me,
And I didn't say the best for last, Adam. I
(01:05:18):
saved the worst for last. I understand that the Colts
were not were down shack Leonard Michael Pittman Jr. Alec
Pierce didn't play a get all that but we know
what the Colts and Jacksonville is. It was a theme
that we have talked about all week long. If we
were talking about this game. For them to not score
a point in a loss today, what I mean, what
(01:05:40):
what does that mean for Frank Reich? What does that
mean for this Colts team? Like this? This is this
is not good and and that's an understatement. Well, when
you lose your when you don't have your two starting
receivers pierces technically a starter, it's a problem. And they
couldn't get Jonathan Taylor on track. The other problems they
barely have the ball. They had for just over twenty
one minutes of out of sixty. That's not gonna work. Uh.
(01:06:01):
Ryan was totally uncomfortable today. It's tough to operate like that.
Their left tackle situation is not good. They're like kind
of rotating them that that that's not gonna work. But
you know, Frank Reich has been incredible when they when
they've gotten off a bad starts, He's turned the season around. Yeah,
I wouldn't look when they get everyone back, there'll be
a better football team Without Jack Leonard. The weird thing
(01:06:21):
is like talking to someone close the situation, like right
before the season started, like they said, physically he's okay,
but it's I think it's more conditioning because he had
been off. You know, I didn't play the games since
last season. And look, they're gonna need it back because
he's a difference maker, folks. That's the problem that I
don't think. It's a Frank Reich problem, like I think
(01:06:43):
I don't have You gotta have your best players. I
mean it's obviously, but also is this team really a
quarterback away because that's something treated the last three years
in that position. Well, they also haven't gotten it right.
That's the I mean, they've they've failed at it doesn't work.
Chris Ball is a pretty good gasolo GM, but he's
(01:07:03):
completely failed a quarterback. He he got, he had the
patriark where the Philip Rivers did a decent job. He retired.
You didn't draft a quarterback to develop. They still haven't
done that. They drafted a sixth rounder which didn't work,
or fourth round excuse me, Jacobson who's no longer there.
Uh no, they haven't got a right a quarterback. When
when you look at Carolina, as good as the roster is,
(01:07:24):
and we'll see about Baker Mayfield. But when you continually
you go through five quarterbacks in three years, that's not
an answer. Um quickly before we get you out of here, Adam,
I'm watching this Bengals game and it looks just like
last week, they can't protect Joe Joe Burrow. What is
going on there? Yeah, well, here's the problem. They've got
(01:07:45):
four new offensive starters on the offensive line. Collins, who
was cut by Dallas one of the guards, was not
supposed to start, but he's starting as a rookie. Yeah.
And also Burrow is you know, he's another guy who
was always trying to make the big play. You gotta
get rid of the football, and that's the chances that
you take with him because he's such an unbelievably aggressive thrower.
He's got to get rid of the football faster. And
(01:08:07):
he's not done that. And and it's shown in their defense. Actually,
after a terrible start, has really played better than Cooper Rush.
How about Cooper Rush has a chance to go to
and oh it's a starter. Remember talking the Vikings last year,
they were blown they were blown away by how he played.
Remember at forty attempts and really played well. And that
that I think it was Sunday night, give like mid season.
They told me prior to the game that he's better,
(01:08:29):
and people think and they certainly thought that after the game.
They got a lot, a lot of passes to their
playmakers in that game as well, at Marty Cooper and
Ceedee Lamb. So I did not that you want to
lose Tech Prescott. You don't, but they maybe won't miss
a beat as much as people thought. All right, Adam Caplin,
we'll let you go. We'll let you watch the rest
of the week two, and we'll talk to you again
a week three. How about that guy. Thank you, Adam
Caplan our NFL insider. Get him on Twitter at Kaplan NFL.
(01:08:51):
Make sure you check out the Inside the Birds podcast.
Those Birds home to the Vikings tomorrow night in the
Monday night doubleheader. He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer.
Let's go to the news desk for an update on
all five of these games plus a lot more, Yeah,
a lot more. Lamar Jackson is giving credit where credit
is due. He tweeted, I'm gonna change a word because
(01:09:11):
one of them is a bad word. Yeah, he twet.
He tweeted, good stuff Miami Dolphins. Ravens, We're gonna bounce back.
And it's a gift of a little boy wearing a
respect hat. But the Derek Jeter respect where the S
is a two and the little boy is tipping his hat.
So that is what he just tweeted. Ravens defender could
(01:09:32):
not be tweeting that, right, could not be like, hey,
good good times, right, right, But he's giving credit where
credit is doing. Another thing that he retweeted was Joe
Flacco entering the locker room and celebrating after his win
today and it was an NFL tweet. It's a Joe
Flacco legend and Lamar Jackson retweeted it. So showing love
all around. But let's go to the games that we
(01:09:55):
have going on. Rams are still up on the Falcons
thirty one to seventeen, five minutes to in regulation. Matthew
Stafford thirty four two hundred and sixty three yards, three
touchdowns in the game, Cooper Cup to touchdowns. He's killing
it like always. Forty Niners up on the Seahawks twenty
to seven, also about five minutes to go in the game.
They already took out Geno Smith. The Seahawks already We're like,
(01:10:17):
we're gonna do something else. So they have DJ Dallas
playing well. He was the running back. He he was
the running back that came in and through the past.
Why you would ever running back throw idea because they're
trying to spice things up is what they're trying to do.
Trying to spice it up. They trying to do something.
We also got the Cowboys and the Bengals are about
(01:10:39):
to start the fourth quarter and the Cowboys are up
seventeen to nine. The Texans are up on the Broncos.
We were tied earlier, but now they're up nine to
six with about three and a half minutes to go
in the third quarter. And the Raiders still up on
the Cardinals, but at least the Cardinals got a touchdown,
so they're up twenty three to seven. They're about to
start the fourth quarter. Derek Carr has thrown for two
hundred and twenty six yards and two touchdowns so far
(01:11:00):
for the Raiders. And we have a new w n
B A champion. The Las Vegas Aces have won their
first title, beating the Connecticut Son right now to seventy one,
so their first title. Congratulations Las Vegas Aces. I think
I think Aces and Raiders owner Mark Davis was at
the game. He had a problem with the schedule, yeah,
(01:11:21):
because he was mad that the the w n B
A Final schedule was matching up on NFL Sundays. And
he said that in Week one he was going to
go to the Raiders game in l A against the
Chargers because of a new head coach, he felt he
needed to be there. But he said, if it's a
deciding game in the w NBA playoffs, I'm gonna go
to the w NBA game and not the Raiders game
against the Cardinals. So I think I don't know, but
(01:11:43):
I think Mark Davis chose the Aces game. That's what
he said. He was well there. He cannot point something
out about Vegas though, that that the franchises there they're
all new obviously, right, but but they have gotten really good,
really fast out there in Vegas. The Nights, the Aces,
the Raiders are better. You know, if Lebron, if he
(01:12:05):
ends up with his NBA team out there, Bro, they
might they might be champions quick too. Oh my gosh,
imagine Vegas going crazy. Is going crazy with all those teams? Yes,
and uh, well Cardinals right now in Vegas territory. But
it does, I mean it allows it. It totally legitimizes
the city, as if Vegas needed to be legitimized. You
(01:12:27):
are those sports teams in there, and it's a it's
a whole another deal. It's like Heaven, thank you very much,
Moncy Hell. For most people on nights in in Las Vegas,
we have got some action going on. The Falcons have
just forced a Rams turnover, Lorenzo Carter picking up the
football going into the end zone for the Falcons. So
(01:12:49):
there's could be getting interesting in l A Rams anyone
Falcons twenty three with an extra point coming up and
go ahead. George. That that game, in particular, and just
like the Ravens game, is why the NFL is so amazing.
Is because in college like the one score like, you
(01:13:10):
don't have as many one score games like it is
hard to blow people out because as soon as you
let up something something silly always happens, always happens. And
so that I think that that's the thing that makes
the NFL like so entertaining is that you are literally
never out of a game. And it was an on
a blocked punt. I actually I saw the latter end
(01:13:32):
of it, but the punt was blocked and that's how
the Falcons scored. They're gonna go for two in this
scenario down eight, so they're going for a two point
conversion thirty one to twenty three. We'll let you know
if the Falcons get it or not. And they do.
Drake London with the reception on the back of the
end zone. So it's now a six point game between
(01:13:54):
the Rams and Falcons. And something else happened in Denver
to aid George's uh the Daniel Hackett point. Broncos had
it fourth down in two and got a delay of
game that moved them out of field goal range. They
had a fourth down in two and Brandon McManus was
on the field. In fact, the ball was snapped. He
got the kick off it it was good, but he
(01:14:17):
didn't get the kick off in time prior to the
delay of game. So then the Broncos chose to punt
and back the Texans up. They did force a three
and out, so they'll get the football back, but unable
to convert on that field goal try because of the
delay of game. Another issue with field goals near midfield
for the Denver Broncos. Mm hmm. Man, this is this
(01:14:41):
is the problem with Nathaniel Hackett. You know, quick, make
this point. I know we gotta go to break, but
when this stuff does pop up, George, to your point,
it is tough to shake it. Like he needs to
make like seven really good decisions for us to forget
about what happened on Monday night. Oh yeah, because it
was so incredibly bad. Now you wonder about his decision
(01:15:02):
making in general. You're like, oh, wait, is he a
good decision maker? Is he? Or is he a bad
decision And and it may be more because they may
need to be seven uh good decisions on like primetime
games because if it happens during this window, only a
certain amount of the audience are gonna be able to
see it, not a nationally televised game. So that's what
it's gonna take for Nathaniel Hackett to get back. He's
(01:15:24):
George rice Ster, I'm Dan Buyer. I'll look at your
fantasy mrs coming up on the other side. This is
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio
on a Fox Football Sunday. He's the six year NFL VET.
George rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer. Get George on Twitter
at George Royster. You can find me on Twitter at
Dan Buyer. On Fox there's a turnover in l A.
(01:15:46):
Falcons have recovered a Rams fumble and now are in
the red zone. Rams hold the lead on the Falcons,
but again, Falcons have the football with two minutes left,
facing a second and nine from the Rams twenty George.
Before we dive into that, let's go to the news
desk Montano as some breaking news, breaking news from Fox Sports. Hi, guys, So,
(01:16:09):
Adam Schefter just tweeted that tray Land Sporting Owners quarterback
suffered a significant ankle injury. He's expected to need surgery
and it will likely end his season. This was the
worst possible outcome for Trey Lance. And uh, the news George,
that you feared when you saw the injury, you said, yeah,
this is not going to be in the air cast.
(01:16:29):
Usually as a sign sometimes there's you know, hope that
uh maybe it was, you know, just a really bad sprain.
But air cast always means they don't put an air cast.
I've never watched it. I shouldn't say never. I've never
seen a scenario where they put an air cast on
(01:16:51):
where it wasn't at the very least like dislocated. I
agree with you on that. There was one injury. I
can't remember it was in college, woobole or the NFL
this year when I'm like, okay, guys off the field,
he's you know, done for the year, and they're like, hey,
good news. I can't remember where it was. But I yeah,
I agree with you that normally that is that is
the case. Yeah, but the air cast is usually a
(01:17:12):
kid death because because it because I've never seen him
put an air cast on it, where like your foot
wasn't pointing or your leg was not pointing in the
wrong direction and for a little while, and that's uh,
it's a I don't want to say a tough break
because it's just a bad plan. Words I just did
I guess Jimmy Garoppolo did sneak in a touchdown and
replace of Trey Lance just a few moments ago, forty
(01:17:34):
Niners up on the Seahawks twenty seven to seven with
a buck fifty one left to go. We'll let you
know the Falcons now facing a third and thirteen down
six to the Rams with a minute sixteen to go,
Denver has gotten into the end zone. Russell Wilson a
touchdown past Eric Sobert with the reception twenty two yards out.
So Denver has taken a thirty nine lead on the
(01:17:55):
Texans with twelve thirty seven left to go. But it's
this This Rams scenario reminded me a bit about that
of that divisional playoff game that we had against the
Buccaneers that I had called the Rams were gonna win,
and when they were up seven to three whatever it was,
George and then the Bucks come all the way back
and Rams end up winning it in the end, but
(01:18:17):
you have a block punt, Cooper cup fumbles recovered by
the Falcons. Rams may survive, but this one kind of
has that Buckingeers sort of playoff game feel as well. Dude,
it is. It was third and thirteen and the Atlanta
Falcons came out in thirteen personnel. Uh that that's one
wide receiver and three tight ends. I don't know many
(01:18:42):
they have. They have two time outs. Maybe they just
wanted to get half of it. As Marcus Mariotta throws
one up into the end zone and I think this
is going to do it, Jalen Ramsey is picked off
Marcus Mariota at the goal line. Mariotta was lilling pressure.
I don't know if he had to throw that one,
(01:19:03):
but he ended up doing so, and so now the
Rams look like they're going to survive. Falcons do have
two time outs, but still Rams can take a knee
and pretty much run out the clock. He is George
Rice Stir, I'm dan buyer, l A Stays alive, Cardinals
trying to to come back against the Raiders, and can
the Texans retake the lead against Denver? All that plus
the Cowboys and Bengals going down to the wire with
(01:19:24):
nine minutes left, Dallas up eight, and that one will
give you the finishes to these week two games coming
up next year on Fox Sports Radio. Oh what a
late window we have got as we are broadcasting live
from the ti iraq dot com studios. Ti iraq dot
com will help you get there and unmatched selection, fast
(01:19:44):
free shipping, free road hazard protection and over ten thousand
recommended installers tire rack dot com the way tire buying
should be. George, We've got an interesting situation that is
transpiring in l A. It A here that the Rams
we're gonna be able to run out the clock against
(01:20:04):
the Atlanta Falcons. But what they did to get to
this point is they get a thirty one seven victory.
The Falcons blocked a punt that the Rams had to
allow them to get within the score, and then they
ended up getting a fumble and had an opportunity to
take the lead, but on fourth down with thirteen seconds left,
(01:20:25):
Sean McVeigh did the old will take the safety and
ended up running out of the end zone, making it
a four point game, and then they punted away. The
Falcons had one last play, but Marcus Mariotta was sacked,
but uh, the Rams are afraid to punt after they
had that one blocked instead said we'd just take the safety.
It ends up working out for him. Uh, they let
(01:20:47):
the Falcons back in it, but the Rams end up
getting a four point win. That that that's actually the
correct thing to do in that situation because you leave
so such a little bit of time for the other team.
Uh that that it actually works and um, oh man,
But the crazy part about that game is is that
(01:21:10):
then I don't normally like bet very like bet on
sports very often, right, because I think it's too unpredictable
all of it. That, But I do think that it
is fun, So I don't shame people or poo poo
people that that that do it. But I, well, I
guess I gambled on something at some level because I
play DFS very very heavily, right, very heavily. And but this,
(01:21:33):
but this Atlanta Falcons uh Rams game, it was a
ten and a half point spread on like Thursday, and
I was like, oh my lord, I actually thought that
they were gonna upset the Rams. And that's one of
the rare times that I feel where I'm like, yo,
this is a layup, and and when I go and
(01:21:54):
when when when when I feel that I go hard.
So this was a situation where I was like, oh no,
because they and they're actually going to win. But this
turned out to be a great day to day. And
we've got three games going on right now that are
all hanging in the balance. Right now, the Cowboys are
(01:22:15):
up on the Beankals seventeen to nine under five minutes
to go, but Cincinnati is driving. They have a second
and eight from the Dallas seventeen yard line. The Cardinals
have gotten into the end zone converted their conversion Kyler
Murray a two point rush. Daryl Williams was a run play.
So now it's twenty three to fifteen Raiders on top
(01:22:37):
of the Cardinals eight minutes to go, and now in Denver,
the Broncos have that four point lead on Houston nine
minutes to go in the game, Broncos facing a second
and seven deep in their own territory as Russell Wilson
is able to find Courtland Sutton for a first down
to LA have a fresh set of downs. Nathaniel Hackett
sat on a lot of his time outs this time
(01:22:58):
around Monday against the box. He said it on the
timeouts this time around, not doing so. Denver only is
one time out, but they do have a four point lead.
The Bengals now getting at first in goal against the
Cowboys at the seven yard line. Joe Mixing gets about
two yards, so it'll be second and goal. Cincinnati has
two of their time outs left. Dallas has two of
(01:23:19):
their time outs as the Cowboys are upbate. So this
late window forty Diners dominated the Seahawks, but the Trey
Land story maybe the biggest of all to come from
Week two, UH is the one that dominated and then
we have four good games and in UH in this
late window, George, week two is has been kind oh yeah,
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it has because we uh, we
(01:23:39):
haven't seen too many just blowouts all season really, I
mean we we had a couple last week. But it's
been a fun watch and it's actually shown, you know,
like put the NFL in such a good, good light
the way that um that you you've had good play,
you've had amazing comebacks, and these are things that actually
(01:24:02):
I think that turn you know, casual fans into die
die hard fans. And when and when families can watch
and because you already know there's always people they're like,
turn that game off. That's a blowout, turn it off.
And then and then they're like, oh my god, I
just missed greatness. And that is the beauty of it.
(01:24:25):
And the Bengals have just gotten into the end zone.
Joe Burrow his hit t Higgins on a five yard
touchdown pass and catch. Now Cincinnati goes for two. Seventeen
fifteen is the score in Dallas again, three to go.
So even if the Bengals don't get this, they'll have
an opportunity to stop Dallas and get the football back.
(01:24:47):
But Cincinnati getting into the end zone, Joe Burrow moved
and found Tee Higgins and now he's found Tyler Boyd
for the conversion. So we are knotted up in Dallas
between the Bengals and the Cowboys. Took a while for
the Bengals offense to get going, but it seems to
be there. The second week in a row. Yeah, it's
second week in a row that that you know, Russell
Wilson is has been under fire. The numbers turned out
(01:25:09):
good in that game against Seattle, but the numbers this
time around in this game against Houston twelve of twenty
six for just a hundred and thirty three yards. The
touchdown pass also an interception. Is it too much to ask?
Uh that we that? Did we ask too much, George
that Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett would just you know,
hit the ground running with this offense. Is this going
(01:25:31):
to take time? I know your thoughts about hack it overall,
but I mean, do do we do we allow Russell
Wilson any leeway now that he's got that contract Denver
gave up what they gave up. Do we allow him
any leeway for what is kind of considered a slow
start with the Broncos. Oh? Yeah, I mean if they
if they, if their offensive woes continue, then absolutely for
(01:25:54):
another week. That means that it's a legitimate problem. You know,
you can have a slow start to the season, but
two weeks, but three weeks in a in a row,
it's a problem, Yes, and then you have a legitimate
issue that needs to be addressed. I even think it's
legitimate for like right now, like to say to expect
(01:26:14):
I mean, you know, Trey Lance goes out with the
with the injury that's uh likely gonna cost him the
season according to reports, And we're expecting Trey Lance in
a downpour last week in Chicago, and we're critiquing him.
I don't think that Russell Wilson needs any leeway. They
gave him forty nine million dollars, they gave up two
first round picks, that gave up two second round picks.
(01:26:37):
You know, if I'm a Denver fan, I'm expecting more.
I'm expecting more from this and and maybe you're expecting
more from Nathaniel Hackett, but I mean I would be
expecting more from Russell Wilson. The numbers wise, he was
finding the Seahawks defense couldn't get off the field on Monday.
But I don't think it was a dominating performance by
any means that anybody would say, and now this it's
(01:26:57):
an absolute average performances. They try to put way the Texans, Yes, yes,
and if they're able to put them away, then people
will say, okay. But if the Texans find a way
to come win his win his game, oh my lord,
he Mercy, the the the bird, the boo birds, the
whatever you want to call them, are gonna be out
(01:27:18):
for Nathaniel Hacket, buddy and and in Vegas. Right now,
the Cardinals have forced to punt, so the Cardinals will
get the football back at their own twenty seven yard line,
four forty three to go, and the Raiders are up
eight in this game, twenty three to fifteen. So three
games going on right now, all under six minutes to go,
(01:27:39):
all with a lot to determine. By the way, as
we look at these three late games, that we take
a look at what happened earlier today. But Houston's in
this dog fight with Denver, had the tie last week
against the Colts. Colts loose to the Jaguars today. Tennessee
lost last week to the Giants. They've got the Bills
tomorrow night, two weeks in. If you had to pick
(01:27:59):
a winner now of the a f C South, you
had to pick who was gonna win that division? Who
would you pick right now in the a f C South, Colts, Titans,
Jaguars or Texans. Oh, same same team I said was
gonna win in the preseason, the Titans, and and my mind,
you I don't love the Titans. I don't. I think
that we could be in the exact same situation that
(01:28:23):
we were in with the uh NFC least two years ago,
where we're like a six and ten team, could be
flirting and flirting within the last week of the season
getting into playoffs. That's what we could be looking at.
And the Broncos now in Texans territory, as Russell Wilson's
(01:28:45):
completed a pass uh downstaw about the twenty eight yard line.
I think it was Keith Clearwater with that reception for Denver.
So it's thirteen to nine Broncos on top of the Texans,
Cowboys and Bengals. Ceedee Lamb's caught a pass bringing them
closer to midfield. So it's first intent at the Cowboys
(01:29:06):
forty nine yard line, three o eight to go at
a game that is tied up at seventeen apiece. Cowboys
may just be playing for the three and to try
to work down this work down this clock. But uh,
Dallas gets a loss, uh courtesy of Ezekiel Elliot, who
stopped for a four yard loss. Now Arizona is towards
uh nearing midfield, and their game against the Raiders. On
(01:29:28):
a first intent near midfield, Kyler Murray is a pass
batted down. I look at the a f C South
like this. The Jaguars lost at Washington and then they
dominated the Colts today, and I know that there are
pieces back for the Colts, But you know, I I
look at what Jacksonville is is done at least the
players that we thought maybe would maybe need another year.
(01:29:50):
There's some question on how good for Moron Walker was
going to be, and by all accounts, he's done fairly
well as the first overall pick. And then you have
the addition of Christian Kirky, Jacquelman and himself James Robinson
has done better. I think this Jacksonville team now is
one to kind of keep our eye on. Are they
gonna be continue to grow? Um? And I'm not holding
(01:30:10):
you to your Titans pick, but there's a there's a
decent chance the Titans could be going to after a
week two with their game. That's what I'm saying is
that is that is that we could but I think
the Titans are gonna win it. But this is very
possible that we are that the Jacksonville Jaguars and the
Houston Texans could be in this race at the at
(01:30:31):
the very end, and it could be three teams under
five hundred that all have a shot to get into playoffs.
The Broncos through it deep and it was incomplete. Tyree
Cleveland had the catch earlier. It's my mistake on the
identification of the player, but that's who got the Broncos
in the field goal range. The field goal that wouldn't
settle the deal. They're only up four on Houston, thirteen
(01:30:52):
to nine with four thirty left to go uh in
that contest. So if you don't convert on a third
and ten here you bring Brandon McManus out. Russell Wilson
lost his footing and now it's lost about seven yards,
so it's gonna be a it's gonna be a longer attempt.
They are at home, they are in the Mile High City.
But it made the field goal much more difficult for
Brandon McManus, and we'll let you know on how it
(01:31:14):
turns out. As for what's going on in Dallas, it's
still a seventeen on game, third and fourteen for the
Cowboys with forty at the forty five yard line of Dallas,
so they need about twenty yards if you want to
try to kick a field goal. Cincinnati again pulling even
on the touchdown pass from Joe Burrow to t Higgins.
(01:31:35):
He is George rice to get him on Twitter at
George rice Ster. You can find me on Twitter at
Dan Buyer. On Fox. We'll let you know what this
fifty yard attempt for Brandon McManus does. In Denver. It
is good. So Davis Mills and the Texans now know
what's in front of them. Sixteen to nine Denver on
top of Houston, three thirty six to go, Cardinals facing
(01:31:56):
a fourth and one in Las Vegas. Actually, we'll keep
it here because there's a fly. Got the play in
Denver fourth and one. You just put it in Kyler
Murray's hands. George here with tot left to going down eight.
Oh yeah, yeah, I'm putting it in his hands, letting
him run run around and everything else. Kyler Murray is
under center for the Cardinals in this play. They did
(01:32:18):
lose James Conner to a leg injury earlier in this game,
so he is unavailable and uh the Cardinals are as
as Murray runs for the first down, is able to
scramble and get out of bounds. Arizona only has one
time out left, so they get the first down at
about the count Excuse me a about the Raiders forty
(01:32:39):
one yard line. They still need a touchdown on a
two point conversion to take the lead, but that's where
we are with twenty left to go in the game.
Cowboys facing a third and fourteen. We'll let you know
how that plays out, and then I trust me, George,
we will take our time out here. But Cooper Rush
has got to get the Cowboys at least fourteen yards
if they want to keep this drive alive against the Bengals,
and the ball is tipped the line of scrimmage and
(01:33:01):
so Dallas likely to pon back to Cincinnati. He is
George rice Ster, I'm dan Buyer. Will bring you the
conclusion to these three crazy games, plus it look at
some of our fantasy missus. That's all next year on
Fox Sports Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George
Rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer. Craziness of what's going on
in these last three games? The Texans unable to cash
(01:33:23):
in is Denver gets a stop on four downs. However,
the Texans have three time outs left. As Denver takes
over with a seven point lead with a minute sixteen
to go, Texans using their first time out. And he
is George Ricester, I'm Dan Buyer. We are also what's
watching what's happening in Las Vegas? Cardinals down eight to
the Raiders, but Arizona right now facing a third down
(01:33:44):
and four from the Raiders six yard line, so they
can get a first down. They've only got Actually I
think they're now out of time outs? Is Arizona um? Actually, yes,
they are out of time out, so it's a third
and four. They can get the first down, but they
don't have any timeouts. Curious to see how the Cardinals
deal with this. Down eight and the Cowboys got the
(01:34:06):
football back getting a three and out on the Bengals.
They've now got it second and two from their own
forty three yard line. So craziness going on, George, as
we speak here on Fox Sports Radio and the Cardinals.
Now I've gotten down to the one yard line. They
got a first down. A J. Green gets it, but
now Arizona is gonna have to spike it. Man, craziness
(01:34:26):
going on in Dallas, in Arizona or in Las veasas
Las Vegas, excuse me? Yeah, And Cliff Kingsbury has like
it's amazing how he looks so terrible for the first
half and and actually wouldn't even give him as much
credit as I would give Kyler Murray, who's just been
(01:34:47):
making ridiculous play after ridiculous play. They're the A J.
Green catch may not have been a catch. There's the
the referee spotted him down at the one yard line,
but there is a question on whether he actually possessed
the football as a radar defender ended up coming upon him,
(01:35:07):
the ball was jarred loose and then ended up hitting
the ground. I don't think this is gonna be a
completed catch. But did they did they rule it? Yeah?
They are. They are reviewing it because it did appear
that the Cardinals went up to spike the football, which
then would have made the catch be good. But they
are reviewing it. So if they don't, if it is
incomplete it would be fourth and four at the six
(01:35:29):
yard line. As for what's happening and since between Cincinnati
and Dallas twenty four seconds left to go, Cowboys have
gotten it to the Bengals thirty five yard line, so
you at least have an opportunity for a game winning
field goal as the Cowboys don't have any time outs.
But with twenty three seconds left to play, Tony Pollard
(01:35:51):
runs to the right, doesn't get out of bounds, and
now Dallas is going to have to hurry up to
try to line up as there's thirteen seconds and counting.
Uh Dallas, another time situation late in the game, Tony
Polar probably could have ran out of bounds, didn't do
so clock kept running. But now there's three seconds left
(01:36:11):
and Dallas will go for the game winning field goal.
Mm hmm. And and what's happening in Denver? The Broncos
go three and out, Texans use all of their time out,
so now Denver's punting it back to Houston and Davis
Mills may have about a minute to work with down
seven against the Broncos. Oh boy, these are the moments
(01:36:32):
when careers come come alive. Buddy, we we're gonna get
your fantasy We're gonna get your fantasy numbers in just
a second, but we do want to let you know
what happens on this fourth down between the Cardinals and Raiders.
And simultaneously, Dallas is going for the game winning field
goal against Cincinnati and the kick is good in Dallas,
(01:37:00):
So the Cowboys ending end up winning at Brett Maher
with the field goal to win it seventeen. Cowboys dropped
the Bengals, the defending a f C champions, to oh
and two. I wasn't sure if it was good at first,
because it was it was fading to the riot where
you're like, hope, please stay golf ball, don't go in
the water, just hang on there. And it did hang
(01:37:21):
on within the upright, So the Cowboys get a seventeen
win against the Bengals. Now we focus on what's happening
in Las Vegas between the Cardinals and Raiders. Cardinals facing
a fourth and four from the six yard line, and
of course, the camera shows J. J. Watt on the sideline,
because why wouldn't you show a defensive player in this situation, right, George,
(01:37:41):
Oh my goodness, J J. Watton the camera A match
made in heaven. Uh Kyler, by the way, and now
the what's happening in Denver is the Broncos and Texans
game has the Texans facing a second down and eleven
from their own twenty four yard line. Kyler Murray ran here, there,
and everywhere trying to elude pressure. Was able to do so,
(01:38:04):
but there is a flag on the play on the
fourth down play, so this could give the Cardinals a
fresh set of downs. And if it's a defensive penalty,
this is this is gonna be interesting to see what's
happening in Las Vegas and what the call is the
Texans Davis Mills through a pass to Brandon Cooks, who
caught it but did not get his feet inbounds. It
(01:38:26):
is defensive holding, so the Cardinals will get a fresh
set of downs. Automatic first down, zach Ertz was in
the end zone and that's where the holding appears to
have occurred, at least according to the replace that we're watching.
And then maybe it was somewhere else is the replace
we look, But now first in gold George, sixteen seconds,
(01:38:46):
no time outs. Is this an all Kyler Murray scenario? Yeah?
Oh yeah? Did you have you seen the way his
dude is out here just running, running around. He is
earning his money today, Buddy. I thought I thought he
was gonna run out the clock. For as much as
he was scrambling. Max Crosby almost had him would have
been for not anyway because of that holding penalty. But
(01:39:07):
now the Cardinals have it first and goal again, no
time outs. Down eight to the Raiders in Las Vegas,
while the Texans are facing a fourth down and eleven now,
and the Cardinals throw a past to A. J. Green
and the ball is jarred loose, incomplete, so they'll be
second down in goal. It appeared Green caught the football,
but when he came to the turf, the ball came loose.
(01:39:27):
Rocky Scene was the one defending and knocked it out
of A J. Green's hands. And the fourth down play
in Denver is incomplete. Davis Mills getting pressure, so the
Broncos will survive thirteen seconds stuff, they'll take over. Nathaniel
Hackett gets his first career win as an NFL head coach.
So we went from five games now down to one.
(01:39:49):
Watching what's going to transpire in Arizona. Are you impressed
by this Raiders team? I mean they Chargers got the
best of them last week. You've seen now Arizona coming in.
I think that they are a good football team. I
don't think that they are a great football team. I
don't love like. I don't count this Arizona game as
(01:40:13):
like like. I would have liked them to be even
more dominant in this game because this team is not
very good this This Arizona team is not very good
at all. And the second uh down pass, the second
and goal pass from Kyler Murray knocked away, you maybe
could have called holding defensive holding again on the Raiders. However,
(01:40:35):
the ball was knocked away before it got to zach Ertz.
So it's now third in goal in Arizona, and zach
Ertz was not looking for the football, and it will
be fourth and goal as Artz was running a slant
and was not looking for the football and Murray delivered
it to him right away. I'll say this, I don't
(01:40:55):
know if he gets into the end zone, if we
have to see how close he has. I take that back.
It would have u he would have scored if he
would have been aware that the football was was coming. Alright,
fourth down, you're you're tight end? What do you what
do you think what are you thinking here? That was
absolutely holding. So they just replayed the third Dawn that
(01:41:16):
was such hold. He had a whole fistful of urch jersey.
There's gonna be a lot of holding. What do the
Raiders have to lose? Kyler Murray is actually gonna scramble
and he's got a seam and he is going to score.
So with no time left, the Cardinals have pulled within two.
I know that it's not good news to some, but
(01:41:37):
for Cardinal fans, they now need to convert this two
point conversion if they want to stay alive in this game.
So it's twenty three twenty one. Kyler Murray has ran
it in from three yards out on the fourth and
goal play. There is no time left. Cardinals can't even
call a time out to get a play or catch
their breath from what they've been doing. So this is
(01:41:59):
this is good to be the play. It's gonna be
over or it's gonna be a two point conversion for
uh for the Arizona Cardinals and Raiders. Raiders up to
twenty three to one week two is not disappointing. I
will tell you that it is. It is bringing us
everything that we need and I think there was a
time out called by the Raiders defensively. All right, that
(01:42:21):
allows that allows us to take a bit of a
time out. George, let's go to montery. Belangos bo Benson
is gonna give us some fantasy flakes coming up in
just a second when this game either goes to overtime
or ends up ending. But Monsey, give us an update
of what else is happening in week two. Al Right, guys,
So the Brands beat the Falcons. They got a little
(01:42:42):
crazy at the end. Rams probably were a little scared
on the sideline, but they ended up winning thirty one
to twenty seven. Matthew Stafford thirty six or twenty two
yards three touchdowns. He did get picked twice, but again
the Rams one forty niners handled the Seahawks to seven,
despite losing courter Trade Lance in the first quarter to
officially a broken ankle. He will undergo season ending surgery
(01:43:06):
on Monday. Kyle Shanahan told reporters officially, that is what happened.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm just gonna stop you there, Motzi,
because we do want to let people know what's happening
on this point play. But that that Lance news is uh,
definitely a heartbreaking, no matter if you're a Fortynas fan
or not. But the two point conversion play and and
(01:43:28):
now there's a question on did was it a delay
of game? Is that what we have delayed? Came fly?
How do you get games? Yeah? Exactly after a time out?
Oh my goodness, this is uh George, did you put
(01:43:50):
any put any scratch on this one? Like this was
the stay away? This was the stay away game? Yeah? Yeah,
this was the game. But this game went exactly how
I thought it was gonna go, where the Vegas dominated
and then Arizona was just chucking the ball around Kyler
(01:44:10):
making plays to try to come back. I just didn't
think it was gonna get to this point. You know,
the seven yards now that they have to go instead
of the two. It may be better for the receivers,
but it's just not as good for Kyler Murray who
now would have to run seven years close to the
two and Moncy No, that's okay, that's okay, that's okay.
(01:44:31):
What what what ended up happening? Mazy go ahead Kyler
Murray through a two point conversion. It was successful, so
we have a tie game headed to overt overtime, A J.
Green coming up big time. Oh man, stunned in Las Vegas.
(01:44:51):
It just looked like that he was so crowded. I
can't believe he caught the ball. Oh my goodness. A J.
Green had a couple of opportunities to score a touchdown
and the ball knocked out of his hands, had the
one short of the goal line. But this time the
veteran comes up big as we now have overtime in
Las Vegas. Now, I mean, if if the Cardinals win
(01:45:13):
the tossing at the football, Raiders defense has been on
that field quite a bit, and that momentum going, oh man,
oh boy, this is not great for me because the
person I'm playing in fantasy has Kyler Murray. You know
how I said that, Um how I said that to that, Well,
(01:45:34):
that the Ravens defense that they deserve a lot of
credit for to his situation. Yes, well, in this case,
Cliff Kingsbury is gonna get a lot of credit for
what Kyler Murray's doing today, buddy, because um, these aren't
the play The plays that he's drawing up aren't working.
Kyler is out here doing I mean, if you look
(01:45:54):
at the at their last well, all three of their
touchdowns and point conversions. He's been silly, like he's been
playing a video game. Dude, you are you are exactly right.
It has been on his his mobility, his agility, his speed. Yeah,
(01:46:15):
it's it's crazy. By the way they're they're looking at
this very closely. There's a reugh right there. I don't
know how a camera could have a better view than
what the back judge had, and the back judge called
it good. But they are they're not gonna be able
to overturn this. Yeah, I think you're right, George. Yeah.
And and and as a fan, like if I'm if
(01:46:37):
I'm in Buffalo waw Wings right now, I'm pressing overtime.
But and you were, you were rewarded with overtime. With that,
all right, Monty, go ahead, you can finish out and
we'll we'll bring everybody. What's going to happen in Vegas. Well,
let's go back real quick to that forty Niners game.
They beat the Seahawks. Jimmy Garoppolo obviously obviously had to
step in. He had a hundred yards one touchdown. He
(01:47:01):
earned three hundred and fifty thousand dollars as an incentive
because of playing at least of San Francisco's offensive snaps
in the victory over Seattle. Two is for the playtime,
with an additional one hundred thousand for the win, because
that was all part of his contract, a bunch of incentives,
and so today three d and fifty thousand in his pocket.
(01:47:21):
Not probably never thought that he would be playing this
early this. I thought that they restructured his deal to
make it easier to trade him, and and obviously they
needed to deduced because they didn't want to Whatever their
plan was is not. This was not hem now won't
be and he wasn't gonna be on the team with
(01:47:41):
that six million whenever he was old, so there was
gonna have to be some restructuring. But I never thought
that they restructured it for him to be the backup.
I also, I just thought I was like, all right,
now it's even more advantageous for us, are easier for
us to to trade him and and keep him for
that trade partner if a quarterback got injured, and what
do you know, a quarterback got injured. It just happened
to be the one on their team. Yes, and the
(01:48:02):
call officially stands, So we are going into overtime with
the Raiders and the Cardinals. They were looking at that
as you guys were saying, officially stands over time. It
d is earlier today the Bucks in the Saints win
at it and they were tied at three piece going
into the fourth quarter and the Buccaneers one. But I
just don't know how Jamis Winston, quarterback for the Saints,
with four fractures in his back, played today. He's still
(01:48:22):
through for two hundred and thirty six yards and a touchdown.
He did have three interceptions, probably because his back hurt.
The Lions beat the Commander's thirty six to twenty seven.
Jared GoF four touchdowns, not through shabby. Giants beat the
Panthers by a field goal nineteen to sixteen. Daniel Jones
a hundred and seventy six yards and a touchdown. Patriots
beat the Steelers, also by a field goal, seventeen to fourteen.
Mac Jones thirty five for two hundred and fifty two
(01:48:43):
yards and a touchdown. The Jaguars dominated the Colts. It
was Jaguars the whole way, twenty four to zero. Trevor
Lawrence completed passes for two hundred and thirty five yards
and two touchdowns. The Jets came back beat the Browns
thirty one to thirty. Kevin Durant tweeted he felt hurt
watching that game. Miami came back to beat the Raven
forty two to thirty eight to about loa six touchdown passes.
(01:49:04):
Back to you guys, thank you very much, Moncy. It
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio on this Fox Football Sunday.
He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. Let's quick go
to Bow Benson, our executive producer who's got some fantasy numbers.
Hit on some of the hits today. This is yeah,
go ahead, go ahead, you can strike up the base
(01:49:25):
and George VR vice guy a voice guy that was
that was really good. All Right, these are the guys
you don't want to hear if they're on your team.
You you want you don't want your players mentioned bo.
Who are some of the misses in Week two? Alright?
Starting with quarterbacks, Both the guys in New Orleans today
did not have the best games. Tom Brady was eighteen
and thirty four ford yards and one touchdown. Not what
(01:49:47):
you expect to get out of him. Uh. Jamis Winston
forty four six yards, one touchdown, but three interceptions. Uh
and also as as was mentioned, the back fractors probably
didn't help his case. UM at running back, I believe
in Miami you had Chase Edmonds uh five carries for
thirty three yards and just one reception for eight yards.
So not a great day for him after last week's
(01:50:09):
coming out I guess re coming out party for Sae
Kwon Barkley attempts for seventy two yards, that's only good
for three point four yards per carry and just three
receptions for sixteen yards, and he didn't find the end zone.
So if you thought he was back, he might have
started him today and that was maybe disappointing. Uh. Wide
receiver we have Mike Evans Uh. He had three receptions
(01:50:29):
sixty one yards through many punches and earned one ejection.
So not the not the best day for Mike Evans
and Chase Claypool only had four receptions for twenty six
yards for the Steelers reception. We should we should all
be with him on him on the field. If if
he's playing the Saints, you can count on that. I think.
Uh so, yeah, those are your those are your missus.
(01:50:52):
Today I was gonna say, Russell Russell Wilson, but he
kind of came through late, so here state of yeah,
he earns the state of execution. I just I think
Tim Tebow could have a s similar stat line for
what they're paying him, so big the bow Benson jab
at the end of that. And then I was going
to point out until Kyler Murray came through that it
is the open beta weekend for the next Call of
(01:51:14):
Duty games, so I could have explained Kyler's early struggles.
Hey hey, hey, listen, I'm not giving Kyler any credit
for that because they even though that that is very funny. Um,
because his coach has been absolutely atrocious. I am not
in on Cliff Cliff King Kingsbury at at all. I'm
(01:51:37):
not either. But they gave him that extension and which
which which made no sense, no sense. I would have
been like, uh no, you're gonna be coaching because this
isn't college football where you where you have to go
recruit the next season. You hear me, We're like you
were where. You don't really want a lame duck coach
because it impacts recruiting well. In in the world of
(01:51:59):
the NFL, lane linked up coaches don't matter because they'll
they'll fire you after one one year. Who cares? So
I don't know why they didn't just let him run
into the season. But at the same time, their their
roster is bad. This is not a good roster. Yeah, everybody. Also,
everybody thinks that DeAndre Hopkins comes back and it's gonna
(01:52:21):
fix everything. That still helps offensive line, you have to defense. Yeah,
may help Kyler Murray a little, but it's not gonna
fix everything. All right there underway, Cardinals won the toss,
elected to receive, so they score a touchdown, game over,
kick a field goal or the Raider's force upunt. We
are still alive, nine minutes left to go in that
overtime period. We do have to take a time out.
(01:52:42):
He's George rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. By the way,
you could get Monty Belanios on Twitter at Manti Bolanios
and bow Benson on Twitter at bow T Benson. Coming
up next our m vps for a week two in
the conclusion of what happens in Vegas that's next year
on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's George rice Stir.
I'm Dan Buyer. There's still at overtime in Las Vegas.
(01:53:03):
The Cardinals unable to convert more than one from the
raiders thirty seven yard line, and so now Las Vegas
gets the football back tied up at twenty three apiece,
five thirty left in that overtime session. Great play by
darn Harmon breaking up a fourth Downd completion which would
have been to a Hollywood Brown deep and Raiders territory
jarred the ball loose, it fell incomplete, so the Raiders
(01:53:26):
now take over and it's now a second and tend
He is George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer live from
the tirect dot com studios. George, go ahead, Hollywood Brown
is I He's not. He's not that guy. Like he's okay,
But I mean that's the kind of play that number
(01:53:46):
one wide wide receivers that they hold onto the ball on. Yes, yes,
like that that. Yeah, Like he can't be your guy
that you're gonna pay, you know, twenty million dollars to
for next year when when he when you have to
pick up his fifth year option. I just don't see
how this. I mean, like he was cool, but there
(01:54:06):
was nothing about him in the first two games that
you're looking like, oh well, yeah, yeah, that's the number
one wide wide receiver. No, he would probably be better
off standing in Baltimore. Yeah, I know, I I agree
with that. We we're going to have to ditch the
m v ps that we usually have in this time.
A big thanks to Ricky, you puts it together. But
because of this Raiders Cardinals game and where it is,
(01:54:29):
we're just not going to be able to hear some
of the great highlights, uh from the week that was
in the National Football League. Because I want to add
on to George of what you said with the the
completion to Hollywood Brown. If you're driving in your car,
if you're listening on the app, uh what however you're
listening to us, you probably didn't see the play. And
George to try to describe it. Hollywood Brown makes the
(01:54:53):
catch with his hands, and he with with multiple steps
until the finder touched him. Yes, did not take the
ball and pull it in to secure it, and that
allowed Harmon to come over and then jar the ball loose.
Where I love it when receivers catch with their hands,
(01:55:14):
when you're at that level, that's what you should do.
I don't even think he had the ball and he
was wide open. He was absolutely wide open. I don't know. Yeah,
it was a great throw. I don't think that he
even secured it enough to tuck it, because as I
was watching the replay, I'm like, tuck it, tuck it,
tuck it, and I'm like, wow, he doesn't really have it.
(01:55:35):
So maybe he thought he had that extra step to
really secure it. I don't know what it was, but yeah,
you're right, a top number one wide receiver, you know,
reels that baby in, tucks it in and you got
a first down if you're the Arizona Cardinals, first and goal. Yes, yes, yes,
And now there Now there's four forty five left to go.
(01:55:57):
The Raiders are facing a third down in four again
in their own territory. And now this is where uh
the hunter Renfroll caught a pass and the ball was
jarred loose, and I think Fabian Moreau was able to
recover it. Foster Morrow, excuse me, Foster Moreau. It appeared
(01:56:19):
I thought the Raiders got this fumble. I I I
and if they do, it'll be first down in ten.
At the Cardinals thirty nine yard line. There were two
Cardinal players and one Raider player going for the football,
and I think Foster Moreau was the one who ended
up recovering it for Las Vegas. And there's no and
that that is the case. This is a big third
(01:56:40):
down play for the Raiders. And now you're you're in
Daniel Carlson uh field goal territory. This is wow. You
want to you want to talk about bad luck. If
you're the Arizona Cardinals, you end up having that that
fourth down play not come to fruition. You get a
(01:57:03):
third down. Now, Hunter Renfroe would have had the first
down if you would have been down, but as he
was was diving forward, Cardinals defender came out knocked the
ball loose, which then forced the scrum at the thirty
nine yard line of Arizona and it was recovered recovered
by the Raiders and now four three left to go.
(01:57:23):
The Raiders do have a time out. Cardinals don't have
any time outs left in this overtime session because they
used theirs on the offensive side of things. But now
if you're the Raiders, you're running some time off the clock,
you maybe want to get ten more yards knowing that
you know you've got the field goal kicker, that that
you've gotten as my as my grandmother would would I say,
if it weren't for bad luck, the Cardinals wouldn't have
(01:57:46):
any luck at all. I mean, yeah, this is this
was pretty bad and it all like I believe in momentum.
I know some people don't believe in momentum. I believe
in it. And that that up by Hollywood Brown of
just like the You're about to have a really good
chance of winning the game, and if not, you're gonna
(01:58:07):
get some points on the board. It's too far to
kick a field goal. I think, I think I think
Arizona made the right call on that. Derek Carr almost
threw a bad interception, by the way, I was looking
for Davante Adams over the middle. It's second down in
ten and now the Cardinals are going to get a stop.
And actually Hunter Renfroll just fumbled again and it's picked
up by Arizona. George, Arizona is gonna win this football game.
(01:58:30):
Arizona is gonna win this football game out of defensive touchdowns.
Hunter Renfroll fumbles for the second time and overtime, this
time recovered by Arizona and brought back Byron Murphy was
the one who recovered it and ran in about sixty
yards back. The Cardinals have just beaten the Raiders, ye
(01:58:51):
in overtime. My goodness, oh, my goodness, literally unbelievable. All
I come out thinking was the Charger game. Just give
it to Josh Jacobs, let him run, and then if
Daniel Carlson come out and kick the field goal. They
chose to throw the football. Hunter Renfro, fighting for extra yards,
loses the football and Byron Murphy picks it up for
(01:59:15):
an overtime touchdown. He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer.
What an absolute amazing Week two in the NFL.
