Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. The Rams struck first, but
the Niners are on the move. Just one of four
games we are watching in this late window of Week
eight in the National Football League. We'll tell you everything
that's happening is we are broadcasting life of the tirect
dot Com studios. Tirect dot com will help you get
there and unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
(00:23):
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirect dot com the
way tire buying should be. Not only that, George Rice Stir,
we also have the debut of not one, but two
young quarterbacks in this late window, Sam Ellinger and the
Colts taking on the Commanders. Malik Willis, the rookie out
of Liberty getting the start today for the Titans against Houston.
And then the matchup of two winning teams, which is
(00:45):
so rare, and Week eight Giants and Seahawks. That's what
we've gotten this late window. Listen. I mean, if you
had told me what game and I'm most excited about
this weekend, it would have probably been Giant Seahawks, really
because of the winning records or what because I think
that the Giants are the worst six and one team
(01:05):
of all time. And I think the Seahawks are a
good story. I think that they're actually a good football team.
So I don't think they're a great football team, but
I think that they are good in that they're fun
to watch. So it'll be interesting to see how those
things ban out. And Christian McCaffrey has just made his
market his second game as a forty nine not a
(01:27):
touchdown run, a touchdown passed to Brandon I Huke, So
the Niners get in the end zone. It's a thirty
four yard touchdown pass. So if you have Christian McCaffrey
and your fantasy team, it's getting some passing yards as
well as that passing touchdown. Niners an extra point away
from evening it up in l A. And that matchup
of the NFC West. I do find it interesting, as
(01:49):
you talk about like fake teams and what we've got,
when you look at the landscape of the NFL and
about twenty minutes or so, there's another team that I
don't know if they're fake, George, I just am not
believing right now. And there are some things that happened
actually after their win today that has me more concerned
about that team. That's in about twenty minutes or so.
(02:11):
But there's a point, and we've talked about this over
the last couple of weeks, like we don't know who
is great and who isn't great. So any win that
you can get kind of benefits you because how many
times you're gonna have to face the bills if you're
not in the a f C East or if you're
in the in the NFC East. So you might as
will rack up the wins over the teams that that
maybe you should already beat. Because of the expanded playoff
(02:33):
field now that we've had over the last couple of years,
you're gonna get into the postseason if you just keep
winning those games exactly. And and that's what the Philadelphia
Eagles did last year, and that's truthfully what the like
the um the New York Giants are doing this year.
And that those are two teams that I feel like
our mirror mirroring each other. That this year's Giants are
(02:57):
last year's Eagles, because the Giant are not a Super
Bowl contender, but they are like a team that can
give you hell and beat you. So so it's that
they're efficient, they're not beating themselves. They finally they finally
got competent head coaching, competent offensive coordination, and Daniel Jones
(03:22):
is not getting in the way of winning like like
he isn't he isn't the reason why they're winning. He's
just not getting in the way of them winning, which
is probably even more valuable. Yeah, last week, those legs
were who were a great factor, and I know they
were a yard away from maybe losing the Jacksonville in
that game, but they didn't. They ended up winning that game.
(03:42):
And he goes over a hundred yards on the ground.
And but I totally get I get what you're saying
about the Giants, and I'm unlockstep with that. Your your
your points about the Eagles transition, and we might as
well start with the team that's the only undefeated team
in the National Football League after their against these Steelers today.
This is what this is what I love about the Eagles.
(04:06):
I guess love is the word that that I can use.
Is they were, in my mind, a flawed team last year.
Like we didn't believe you just mentioned it. They were
a team that probably weren't a playoff team, but they
made the playoffs. But there was a lot there that
they needed to address. I remember there was a primetime
game last year and Nick Serriani was being mocked by
(04:28):
the Eagles fans because he refused to run the football
like he refused to run the football with Miles Sanders
and and and it seemed like he was maybe overcompensating
or trying to show what he knew with a quarterback
that we didn't know if they were prepared for that
in Jalen Hurts. And now you transition to this year
(04:49):
and what happened in them bringing in a J. Brown
and being able to embrace the run game, whether it
be with Miles Sanders or whether it be with Boston
Scott or even if Kenneth Gainwell is is getting carries,
Hurts is still running the ball and being effective in
that nature. But now you've also seen the growth of
(05:10):
Miles Sanders as a runner. You've seen that offensive line
arguably one of the best in the NFL, come together.
You've seen the emergence of Davante Smith, You've seen a J.
Brown shine, and most importantly, like you've seen the elevation
of Jalen Hurts. And so there's so many things with
the Eagles. As I'm sitting there just watching them, you know,
kind of kick the Niners tail with excuse me the
(05:31):
Steelers tale today with with ease. It's just it's it's
how good they are everywhere. And last year there were
so many questions and again I didn't think that they
were a playoff team, but we thought that the only
question was gonna be, well, hey, is Jalen Hurts gonna
be the guy? Or should they go out and get
a quarterback? But everything around them has like like Davante
Smith is taking his game to a to another level.
(05:53):
I don't even have a huge game today, but he
need didn't need to have a huge game today. That's
what's so surprising to me about the Eagles is all
of the boats lifted and that's why they're only the
only underfeld the team in the NFL right now. Well, then,
I've been on record. I never ever ever questioned whether
Jalen Hurts was going to have a good season this year.
(06:14):
I was a Jalen Hurts evangelist this this offseason when
people were like, oh, I don't know, I was like, bro,
he's going to be good. I saw him work out
this offseason. His accuracy improved, He's working with a with
a quarterback coach named Taylor Kelly, and so I got
a chance to see him, and and Taylor was singing
(06:36):
his praises man like how good he was going to
be and all of this stuff, and I was like,
all right, all right, So I bought in at that point.
And now we're seeing it like people were questioning his accuracy,
his arm, talent, all this stuff, and because there was
never a question about his leadership or his character. And
(06:56):
and when you put the talent and the experience but
behind it, because sometimes quarterbacks just it's a unique position.
And I feel like I can speak on this because
my Maya son's a quarterback, that there is an element
of development that has to happen, and coaches have to
(07:17):
inspire confidence in their quarterbacks and they have to put
them in positions to be successful and understand that, especially
when you're dealing with a young quarterback that had that
that they are going to have some some struggles and
that you're gonna have to play through some of them.
But as your season goes on and as the next
(07:37):
season goes on, they're gonna be so so much better.
And that's what you've seen out of Jalen Hurts, and
I think that more more more coaches should take that
approach to it as as opposed to you know, ah,
we're giving up on a guy where this no, man,
just just put them in positions to be successful and
live with some of the mistakes as long as they're
(08:00):
not making mistakes that are going to like kill your
kill your team and all of that stuff. No, you're
gonna have to deal with some misthreads every now and then,
a misthrow every now and then, and them understanding the
situation because those are things that are going to pay
off dividends when you get into the playoffs and um
and as your team continues to grow year after year.
(08:23):
Commander's got into the end zone Antonio Gibson and your
touchdown reception a little while ago. So they're up on
the COLT seven three continuing to talk about the Eagles.
He's George Rice Stern, I'm Dan Buyer. You're right, and
you're you're not gonna say inside information, even though it's
it's not inside, it's you had you you were exposed
to what Jalen Hurts was doing in the off season,
(08:44):
and so you had an inkling that, okay, this could
improve and when you see what Jalen Hurts has done
throughout his collegiate and NFL career, you're saying, Okay, I'm
a believer because I saw him improve from maybe being
just the running orderback at Alabama to being more of
that passing threat at Oklahoma. Like you saw the transition,
(09:05):
you saw the growth, and now you take it to
the NFL. My question to you, George is because I
don't have the answer, I have a guess, and my
guess is about but if you took the thirty two
teams in the NFL, how many how many teams and
how many quarterbacks can truly be developed to be at
that next level? Like I mean, like our both teams capable.
(09:28):
Like I'm guessing it's like right now that maybe, like you,
you have to be in the right situation, because if
you're in the wrong situation, it doesn't matter what you do,
you're not going to succeed. Correct, So you you can
have good quarterback play and still be a bad team,
hints Deshaun Watson two years ago. You know he if
(09:48):
he if he had been on a winning team, he
would have instead of his team in four and twelve
if they had been twelve and four, he would have
been the MVP of the league. So you can get
competent quarterback playing good quarterback play and not be a
good football team now. So so I do think that
there is room for better quarterback play in a lot
(10:10):
of places. But there's of course going to be some
people at the bottom and hince, hince. That's why the
draft is so important. And when you think about then
the number of teams that are shaky on either the
current situation at quarterback or future situation at quarterback, I
think that that's the thing that that really concerns you
(10:34):
if you are a fan where you're like, wait, wait, wait,
hold on, hold on, hold on, So you're meaning to
tell me that the come so, like, that's just I'm
the name of the teams there who are not certain
about their future at quarterback, right which are I would
I would say that Seattle should be certain about their
(10:55):
future at quarterback right now. Is that unfair? Yeah? For
the nothing to lose the job? Yeah, but but but
but he's also been good and he's still young enough
that he can be your quarterback for the next five years. Right. Okay,
So so in the NFC West, I'm gonna get I'm
not gonna name the forty Niners because I think that
(11:17):
trade lands that that the jury is still out, but
it ain't Jimmy Garoppolo. Okay, So now you have Carolina,
the Saints, Tampa Bay, Um, the Atlanta Falcons. So that
entire division. Uh the uh would you say any of
(11:38):
the n f NFC North teams between the Lions are
gonna have to at some point move on from Rogers
Kings probably will with Kirk Cousins at some point as well. Yeah.
So and then you have the Commanders, Unsure, Giants unsure um,
I mean the Raider should be unsure, um, Houston, Uh, Indy, Tennessee,
(12:06):
the Pittsburgh Steelers, Yeah, the New England Patriot and the Jets.
Good lord, Yeah, I was wondering if it's Flacco Dome. Yeah.
I I have the Jets down and wrote it down
Today Again we're having the Zach Wilson conversation of yeah,
(12:27):
there's there, there's there's gonna be half the league looking
there right now that doesn't have a future or doesn't
have the future shed at quarterback. The other part of
the equation, though, and this is the part that that
I really think is interesting. This is where I also
think it's George is we hear so much? And just
for an example, we take the draft when the Bears
(12:48):
took Mitchell Trobisky traded up and took him at number
two and Watson and Mahomes went later on in the draft.
If the Bears took Mahomes at that spot when he
be Patrick Mahomes like we know him today, No, I agree.
And that's the thing about Jalen Hurts. Head coaching matters matters,
(13:11):
assistant coaching matters, all players like it always comes together.
And that's what's been so intriguing about the Eagles to
me is that everything was lifted up. So Jalen Hurts progresses,
the coaching progresses, like Nick Sirianni is a better coach
this year because he was stupid in spots last year,
you know, like like those things happen, and so then
(13:31):
you get it all together. That's how you end up
being seven and oh, because there there are situations where
there may be a Jalen Hurts type of quarterback George
in the league right now that is going to get
nowhere near the heights that Jalen Hurts is right now
because of the coaching and the position around him. And
so so that's where I look at, you know, like
(13:52):
and why the Eagles are in what is a whole
home game today where they take care of the Steelers
and and win by twenty two points when they were
double digit favorite. That's what is so intriguing about the
Philadelphia Eagles. All right, we got some touchdowns to tell
you about. DK metcalf has just got a touchdown pass
from Gino Smith. Seahawks get the first score of the game,
a three yard pass and catch. Extra point coming up
(14:14):
at the Seahawks up on the Giant six. Nothing early
in the second quarter. I told you about the Christian
McCaffrey touchdown passed. Well, the rams have answered. Matthew Stafford
found Cooper Cup from sixteen yards out. Extra point is
good Ramsley the Niners fourteen to seven. The Titans have
gotten into the end zone. We're get on a lot
of Derrick Henry today. George already for Henry as we
(14:36):
get near the two minute warning, about four minutes to
go in the first half. Derrick Henry twelve carries one
and five yards and a touchdown. Titans like the Texans
seven to three. Commanders up on the Colt seventh. Let
let me tell you who who I'm playing in Fantasy today. Okay, okay,
Josh Allen, this is your team and you're playing against
(14:57):
I'm playing against this, all right, Josh Allen, DeAndre Hopkins,
Gabriel Davis, Alright, Travis E. T. N Oh, Derrick, Henry
zach ertz Ama ra st Brown, and Andy Dalton. Oh
(15:18):
and in the Philadelphia defense, well, at least even face
Alvin Camara or h J. Brown. You know, I mean,
that would have made it just I mean, good god,
I mean how I mean. And I was the second
highest scoring team. I'm gonna be the second highest scoring
team in my league today probably, and and I'm gonna
(15:41):
get and I'm gonna lose by probably forty points. Uh.
That's that's the way the Fantasy second It's not even
half times already. No, no, I'm sorry, it's points already.

Fox four contests in this late window, including the Niners
who are down seven right now knocking on the door
in the red zone, Rams up seven at the two

coming up in a matter of minutes. I do you

in some Breeders Cup action. So we're looking forward to that.
There was a lot of fun last year. We were
down in del Mar, just north of San Diego and
looking to get my my first taste of Breeders Cup action.
Uh in the great state of Kentucky. So so so
Now old Doug e Fresh trying to get UH sophisticated, UH,
(18:38):
trying to get sophisticated with with the UH with the
ultra rich. Daughter's in a in uh in in equestrian competition,
so he she is that she is nothing. Nothing says
UK had that money like like my daughter does the
(19:00):
question there's that says, I'm rich as hell. That's what
that is. Giants may have just forced to turn over
uh inside the Seahawks five yard line, so down seven.
The Giants were a big defensive play. It's being reviewed,
but it does look like Tyler Lockett fumbled the football,
so the Giants could be knocking on the door for
(19:22):
a score. Before we go to Monsey, George, let's bring
in our executive producer, Ethan Miller, who's here to give
us the latest hits from week eight in Fantasy football
Fantasy heads and misses. I'm sure all of these players
played against George, but go ahead, Ethan. What do we
got for our hits and week eates? Alright, guys, great
(19:44):
to be here again. We got a the category. We
got Miami Dolphins to a tongue of viola two yards,
three t d s and win over the Detroit Lions,
My Philadelphia Eagles Jalen Hurts nine eight two hundred eighty
five yards. What is that? Four t d s and
a thirty five thirteen SmackDown against the Steelers New Orleans Saints.
(20:07):
We go to the running back category. Alvin Camara is
how I say, but it's Chimara I know. Eighteen carries
sixty two yards for a touchdown, nine receptions and ten targets,
two touchdowns in the air ninety six yards and its
twenty four nothing blow out against the Vegas Raiders Dallas Cowboys.
Tony Pollard having a great year, fourteen carries a hundred
(20:29):
thirty one yards for three touchdowns, had a total a
hundred forty five yards with sixteen yards in the air,
and nine win over the over the Bears. And the
wide receiver category, we got a J. Brown Philadelphia Eagles,
six receptions for one hundred fifty six yards, three t
ds and a thirty five thirteen went over the Steelers.
(20:51):
And then again we've got the Miami Dolphins Jalen Waddle
eight receptions a hundred six yards, two touchdowns and once
again and the win over the lines seven. Thanks guys,
all right, thank you very much. Ethan. As a rule,
if you're playing the Lions, play all of your guys
in fantasy football, right, played them all and probably play
the Lions guys too. Yeah, yeah, you might as well.
(21:14):
Well you don't need all of all of theirs because
it's always like two dudes to go off. Today it
was Jamal Williams and uh and and Hockinson played played okay,
but there there's always two dudes for the for the
Lions because they will get in a shootout with you. Yeah,
mon Saint Brown didn't get in the end zone at
(21:34):
seven catches for sixty nine yards today coming back from injury,
John dre Swift wasn't a factor on the ground, but
uh did have the one touchdown reception thrown by Jared
Goff in that game, So yeah, you can get some
play out of the Lions as well. It is Fox
Football Sunday. Niners are still in the red zone, Giants
(21:55):
in the end zone. That and so much more. Let's
head over to the news desk man Blans giving us
the updates of what's happening in these late games. That Hi, guys,
it was a busy morning, a lot of early scoring
and then these four games have taken like a slow
approach to scoring. It's been very different from the morning games. Yeah. Yeah,
(22:15):
the Giants have scored. They recovered a fumble and ended
up scoring. So now we have a tie game with
the Giants and the Seahawks tied at seven apiece with
about five minutes to go in the first half. The
Rams are still up on the Niners, but the Niners
are knocking on the door. We'll see what happens. With
about seventy five seconds to go in the first half,
the Rams are up fourteen to seven on the forty Niners.
(22:36):
Matthew Stafford has already thrown for a hundred and fifty
yards and a touchdown, and Christian McCaffrey does it all.
He even threw a touchdown earlier today for the forty Niners.
But he has seven carries for twenty four yards. And
we've got the Commanders taking on the Colts and they
are up seven three with two minutes to go in
the second quarter. And the Titans and Texas are officially
at halftime, and the Titans are beating the Texans seven
(22:57):
to three. Some of the cames that happened earlier, you
guys were talking about teams that you're playing against, or
like players that you're playing against in fantasy. One of
the teams I'm playing has a J. Brown and Jaln Waddle,
and I'm just like, can I quit now? Can I
just like forfeit this week because it's kind of embarrassing
and they have to reprogram the score bugs unbelievable. I
(23:18):
was like, really, both of you, you have to have
both of them that went off. I can't. I can't.
And then the other league I'm playing against, the guy
has a J. Brown against I was like, seriously, what
are the chances that I'm playing a J. Brown already
in both of my League's unfair? Unfair. But that's probably
how the Raiders fell after today's game, that life is
just unfair because this Saint shut them out twenty four zero.
(23:39):
Alvin Camara coming into this game had zero touchdowns so
far in the season. He had three in today's game.
We also had the Vikings and the Cardinals going at it.
That was a fun game back and forth, but the
Vikings held on to defeat the Cardinals thirty four to
twenty six. Kirk Cousins two hundred and thirty two yards,
two touchdowns, and he even had a rushing touchdown. We
also had the Patriots, who were down at halftime but
(24:00):
outscored the Jets twenty two seventeen in the end. Matt
Jones through for a hundred ninety four yards a touchdown,
he had one interception. Zack Wilson through for three hundred
and fifty five yards and two touchdowns, but he did
have three interceptions. The Eagles they remained undefeated as they
handled the Steelers thirty five to thirteen. Jalen Hurts through
for two and five yards and four touchdowns, a j
(24:21):
Brown six receptions, that's it, one to three, five six,
a hundred and fifty six yards and three touchdowns. We
also had the Broncos and the Jaguars plane in London,
which always feels like it was a week ago. The
Broncos overcame an early ten point deficit. Those high knees
that you know Russell Wilsons did in the airplane clearly
helped because they ended up winning twenty one to seventeen.
He threw two hundred fifty six yards and a touchdown,
(24:43):
and he also even I mean he had one interception.
Trevor Lawrence, he had a hundred and thirty three yards
and a touchdown two interceptions as well. We also have
the Cowboys who scored forty nine points. That's a lot,
and they beat the Bears forty nine twenty nine. Tony
Pollard had fourteen carries for a hundred and thirty one
yards and three touchdowns. The Dolphins had a slow start,
(25:04):
but they managed to come out on top thirty one
over the Lions to a Toko Byla three hundred and
eighty two yards his way through four and three touchdowns.
Jalen Waddle eight receptions for a hundred and six yards
and two touchdowns, and then the game that just all
of our jaws just dropped between the Panthers and the Falcons.
There was about thirty seven seconds left and the Panthers
(25:25):
were down by six. P J through a sixty two
yard pass a first name basis, Yeah, Yeah, the PJ
and the DJ just kind of goes together, doesn't it.
P J Walker through sixty two yard passed DJ more
in the end zone to tie the game. And then
I didn't know that you couldn't take your helmet off
(25:46):
like in celebration, so I didn't know what was happening.
And then he was giving a fifteen yard penalty for
unsportsmanlike conduct, and so then they had to push back
the extra point. They missed it. They missed the extra
point after tying the game, and then they went to
overtime and the Falcons one thirty seven to thirty four.
Is it d J. Moore's fault? You know what, We'll
(26:10):
drive into it right now. Let's do it. Yeah, yeah, George,
I think he's no. No, no, no, no, no, no,
hold no, Monty. Yes. First of all, No, what are
you going to say? What do you say? I'm welcome
up back, thank you, we missed you? Um. I mean,
I'm just wondering. Don't I know what you're saying? If
you are selectively choosing what to update? Or yes, I
(26:31):
am you're gonna say I thought the Clippers place the
Clippers lost to the Pelicans a lot to a little,
a little one nineteen. Did we need to say that?
I said it was a lot to a little. And
so I have another question. Is Kauai Leonard ever gonna play? Yeah?
(26:53):
I don't know. You know what I hate about Kawai Leonard.
He doesn't have the Momba mentality, and he's missed more
games that he's played for the This has not been
a good investor. I don't understand. It's like you're either
good to go or you're not. But don't keep us
in limbo if you're frustrating this man. You guys worry
about October basketball too much. It's October, you know, in February,
(27:18):
like your fans. So I'm I'm I've given up. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's that's a rough start for you. Yeah, but I
don't know if it's any better than losing here to
the Pelicans, even though Joan Williamson had a great game,
so we're gonna win a day though, sure is. The
(27:38):
Niners kicked a field goal, by the way, so it's
fourteen to ten. Uh in uh in l a. So
the Rams continue to leave the Niners by four as
we are alive from the tirect dot com studios. Do
you do you blame DJ Moore? I don't anymore. I
don't blame DJ Moore. No. Do you know whose fault
that was? The kicker? Nope? Oh boy, who's nope? It
(28:04):
was all right, Um, tell me tell me who you
think it is. Okay, So well, this is the reason
why I don't think it's c J. Mar I think
it was d J Moore's fault for a while, and
it was because of the penalty, and then they have to,
you know, to sit there and think you're gonna make
a forty eight uh, you know yard forty nine yard
extra point. Yeah, it's that's not a given. It is
(28:27):
absolutely not a given. So the missed kick not surprising. However,
the Panthers actually had a chance to win it in
overtime and Eddie Pannaro, who missed the extra point, missed
a thirty two yard field goal in overtime that would
have won it for Carolina. So immediately after Panaro missed
that field goal, DJ Moore was off the hook because
(28:50):
then you're saying yourself, it was no guarantee that he
makes the extra point since he just missed a field
goal that was from a yard shorter than an extra
point was. Plus he missed a field goal that could
have also won the game for you. At that point,
DJ more was at fault for a while, but in
the end he was not the one at fault for
why the Panthers lost to the Faltons. Okay, so I'm
(29:11):
glad you said that, right, because the person who was
at fault for all of those events, all of those
events was Arthur Smith, the head coach for the Atlanta Falcons.
He was at fault for that happening. It was they
(29:33):
got the ball first and ten at the Carolina eight team. Okay,
there they were up three points. He did a good
thing and running and running in Carolina had two time
outs left, okay, so he ran the football, ran the football,
ran the football, left forty seconds to go on the club. Well,
(29:54):
it was forty seconds to go on the clock, and
it was fourth and three from the Caroline on eleven. Okay,
what should he have done right there? Dan for it,
one hundred percent, go for it, because if you don't
go forward, and that if you go forward in that situation,
(30:17):
you are up three, okay, and they will get the
ball somewhere in between the twe even though you started
on the eleven, somewhere in between the twelve, and because
you needed to get down to the eight, so in
between the twelve and the nine, right between the twelve
and the nine, with less than thirty six seconds left,
(30:40):
because the play would have taken longer than that than
the four seconds it took for the kick, and then
you gave them the ball on the twenty five yard
line instead. And now granted they only needed a field goal,
but but the field goal kickers clearly suspect, right, so
you make them go further with no time outs or
(31:03):
or here's a novel concept that I learned from Chip Kelly.
Finished the game with the ball in your hands, be aggressive.
So I actually, aside from me wanting Marcus Mariota to
do well, I would have been rooting at that point
for the Falcons to lose. This is the same thing.
Do what do you remember when the Raiders were who
(31:25):
who were? Yeah, when the Raiders were playing the Miami
Dolphins two years ago, and and and John Gruden did
the same exact thing, and then Ryan Fitzpatrick came back
to beat them. Do you remember that it was a
(31:48):
disaster and they got what they deserved. The Raiders lost
that game because fortune favors the aggressive in football. It
always favors the aggressive. Yeah, and and and truly, you
know to your point, as you're saying, like Panaro was
not not guaranteed to make the field goal if they
(32:08):
were only down three, we you know, we have talked
a lot of this show of if you only need three,
is that all you settle for like does does p J.
Walker or is PJ? As Monsey just calls him on
the first day basis, does he chuck one that far?
You know, is your defense different in that scenario? You know,
(32:29):
like for for what you can allow? And yeah, so
a lot does change at that time. I actually tackled
them in bounds one time. All they get is to
plays from the eleven. I thought, I thought that not
putting the ball in Mariota's hands in any of those
situations was also thank on on on a keeper on
(32:51):
like some sort of run pass option. He's gonna make
a good choice in terms of he like, he's gonna
error on the side in that of being conservative in
keeping it if he needs to in that case. But
you you might get a wide open guy, a little
a little slam flat something, anything, anything is better than
the situation that you've got. But coaches some some some
(33:15):
of the times, man, the them uh, them cheeks get tight, man,
the cheeks get real tight, and they start making bad choices. Yeah,
I think he just he went the safe route because
there was a way to explain it. Like at that
time may sound crazy, maybe like thirty six seconds left
your left bro Dante Foreman is the one that's killed
(33:37):
us today. You know that it's thirty six seconds that
bro any if we've seen enough football to know that
there is always enough time, There is always enough time
for something bad to happen. But if you have the
ball and you're taking a knee, as as as long
(33:57):
as you don't pull pull something stupid. That that led
to herm Edwards picking it the miracle in the Meadowlands,
You're okay, and that's why they take a knee even
differently than they did. Then He's George rice Stir. I'm

more time with that. So that comes up at six eastern,
three Pacific, and I'll give you another clue. They only
have one loss this season, so I think you can
(34:40):
maybe narrow it down if you figure it out. There's
another team in the early window today that was disappointing
beyond the beyond recognition. We'll tell you who that is.
George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer. This it's Fox Sports

On the call as they have that fourteen ten lead
on the Niners at the half. Also at the half,
Commander's lead the Colts seven to three. Sam Allinger's debut
with the Colts starting quarterback a mere fifty seven yards
in the air, also fumbled, while Malik Willis is making
his debut as the Titans starting quarterback, and the rookie
(36:36):
from Liberty has thrown for fifty five yards. He's thrown
for an interception, but it's been all Derrick Henry seven
three Titans early in the third quarter against the Texans,
and the Seahawks hold a ten seven lead on the
Giants with eighteen seconds left to go in the first half.
Seahawks just forced a Giants punt, so the Giants will
be punting away. Welcome to the Fox Sports Radio Tailgate

how long it took the Las Vegas Raiders to run
(37:20):
a play in STS territory today? How long it took
them to run a play in st terrapy on the
last It was on the last drive, right, it took
when when the backup was in, It took them fifty
eight minutes of a football game today two to get
(37:43):
into STS territory. That is what happened at the two
minute warning. They boldly went where they had not gone
before in the first fifty eight minutes of that game.
They fault to two and five on the season with
that twenty four nothing loss to the Saints. I understand
in apt, but for a Raiders team that seemingly started
(38:06):
to get it going, Josh Jacobs had things going on
the ground. I know Davante Adams wasn't a hundred percent.
They didn't have Darren Waller today, but Adams only had
one catch to not have a play in the opponent's
territory until two minutes left in the game when you're
down by twenty four is appalling. I I don't know,
(38:26):
like you talk about like, okay, the offense took a
step back this week. That's like five steps back. I
don't know. I don't know how that happens in today's NFL, George,
when there is so much parody to go around, to
have one team just completely dominate another, yeah, oh my gosh, dude,
Like you can't complete one big play? You mean, like,
(38:51):
how do you not get into their territory at all
until the end of the game like you would you
would think, And I mean here, here, here's the other part.
This team was in the playoffs last year, Dan with
a quarterback who's beyond year ten, with a receiver he's
(39:13):
familiar with from college. I know Darren Waller still didn't play.
But but but Foster Moreau does a decent job. There
is you you have your running back who is doing
having probably his best season ever. You loaded up on
defense like this is a failure, a one hundred percent
(39:40):
failure by the Vegas Raiders. I mean they are two
and five. No, yes, they are two and five. They're
they're headed nowhere. They're not going to the playoffs and
Josh McDaniels, this is atrocious atroaches. They would have been
(40:02):
better off keeping Rich Besaccia as their head coach. Yeah,
I agree with that. I know that the I think
Mark Davis thought of a big picture sort of move
with this and what they wanted for the franchise. But
he did that with Gruten and we saw Saltware where
it got them. And to to take that momentum and
(40:23):
just completely bring it to a screeching halt. Uh shocking,
Absolutely shocking. He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer's relyve
from the Direct dot Com studios. Yes, that one lost
team that may need to get better as the season
goes on. That's next here on Fox. Derrick Henry continues
his ownership of the Houston Texans. CBS graphic George. They
(40:44):
just put on the screen fourth straight game now where
Derrick Henry has scored multiple touchdowns against the Houston Texans.
He's got two yeard. Monty Say tightens up on the
Texans fourteen to three midway through the third quarter. Again,
just one of four games we are watching in this
week eight late window as we are broadcasting live from
the TI irac dot com Studios tirac dot com will
(41:07):
help you get there and unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Ti irac dot com the way tire buying should be.
I'll tell you the winning team that's in my crosshairs
in sixty seconds. But George, yes, I actually think that
that's actually not even the multiple touchdown thing is not
(41:27):
even the most impressive thing about about uh Derrick Henry
and the Houston Texans when you consider how many times
like he probably has to have an NFL record for
the amount of two hundred yard games versus one team.
If he gets another one to today, that's at least
four okay to two hundred yards, Like this is not
(41:54):
college football two hundred and he did it twice in
one Sea eason. That is a damn shame that that
means that you're deep debt that he looks at the
schedule and it's like, oh, yeah, there's the day, buddy,
I got two I got four hundred yards before the
season even starts. Okay, so he's got five career two
(42:18):
d yard games and how many came against the Texans.
Did you say, uh, three, three already alright, alright, So
then this would be this if it happens where he's
fifty one yards away and by the looks of it,
and he's probably on his way there. Um, considering we're
not even three quarters of the way through the ball
game and he's already about three quarters of the way there,
(42:40):
and it's still a relatively close game. Texans are in
Titans territory right now, so you would have to think
that Tennessee would continue to run the ball. But yeah,
that would be then four games out of the six
in his career would have gone against the Texans. That's
crazy that they're giving it away for the free. That
is that, you know, And there's this part about Derrick
(43:01):
Henry as well that I thought to myself. I'm like, oh, man,
now now you lose Ryan Tannehill and Malik Willis comes in.
Is this gonna be the beginning of the end? And
you know, I sat there and I thought about it,
and the first thing I said, no, this actually probably
could really help Derrick Henry all of a sudden. Now
if if Malik Willis ends up thriving and maybe ends
up keeping the job, I don't think it's gonna be
(43:22):
the case. But if you had another running threat in
the backfield as well, maybe it opens things up for
Derrick Henry a little bit more. But the other part
about Malik Willis to me, George, is the reason why
I'm rooting for Malik Willis today for the Titans against
the Texans is because I think he is a victim
of our draft craze. Like he he was a name
(43:45):
that was talked about in college football last year, but
came from Liberty. It's not like Liberties, you know, on
big noon Saturday kicking off in New and Eastern time.
That's that's not gonna happen. So then you hear all
this draft hype about Malik Willis and you pick apart
his game, and then drafting comes along and he's not
picked unto the third round. Kid hasn't done anything, you know,
(44:06):
he hasn't done anything wrong, is what I mean. And
now we've already got like this book on Malik Willis,
on who he is and is he a really the
type of quarterback? And now he's a third round pick,
so what can you expect from him? So, like, I'm
rooting for Malik Willis to succeed because he's hurt situation. Sure,
(44:27):
absolutely he's because he's been through the ringer and he
had even played yet, like that, he's already been chewed
up and spit out but the NFL and he hadn't
even and we don't even know if the kid can
play or not yet. Yeah. Absolutely, Like at least Jalen Hurts,
we saw him play in national championship games and at
(44:50):
Alabama and get benched and go to like we've seen
that progression. But here Malik Willis isn't. It's like, I'm
just trying to play some football, you know, I'm just
trying to do my thing. He got chewed up to
some too, because because remember Hurts in the draft process
was oh, maybe he should change positions? Do you do
you want to work out at another position? Do you
(45:10):
realize how stupid so many draft people look now with
asking Lamar Jackson to work out at a different position,
asking Jalen Hurts to work out at a different It's
it's crazy. It's absolutely crazy. It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
(45:34):
He's George rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer. We may have
lost George's signal for a second, but it allows me
to tell you Seahawks continue to leave the Giants ten
seven is they're just underway in the second half, Rams
and nine are still in a closer one, but l
A up fourteen to ten in that game. And then
midway through the third quarter, it's Washington up on the
Colt seven three, but the Colts attempting a field goal
to try to pull within one, Tennessee gets the football back,
(45:57):
stopping that Houston drive. So the Titans are up for
the three, three four left to go, and again Derrick
Henry now fifty one yards away from two hundred. All right,
the team in my now, I'm wondering who the team
and Dan Buyers crosshairs is going to be, because we
(46:17):
already talked about the ra We already talked about the Raiders.
Now I'm wondering about the Indianapolis Colts because they just
benched Matt Ryan for the rest of the season, well
for now, for the rest of the season, and I
do not see a scenario. Do not see a scenario
(46:41):
where Matthew Stafford, I'm sorry, where Matt Ryan ends up
on the bench the entire rest of the year. Because
I'm watching Sam Ellener play today and I know that
there's a lot of rope that that you gotta get to.
But this to me signals that the Colts have no
intention on making the playoffs, no intention on making the
(47:03):
playoffs because Matt Matt Ryan. Now, I never thought, and
I've been on record saying I didn't think that this
was gonna work because or work any better than it
did with uh with with Philip Rivers, because I thought
that they were the exact same person, that it was
two Spider man's pointing at each other. Sure. So, so, Dan,
(47:27):
do you think that there's a way that that that
Matt Ryan that he ends up on the bench for
the rest of the year, Because I don't. Yeah, it's
that's saying, yeah, that seems very unlikely to me. Because
(47:47):
Sam sam Ellinger, if you watched him playing college, he
was so dependent upon running the football and quarterback runs
for a lot of his success. Design quarterback runs. And
in the NFL, the dudes are so big, so fast,
and so strong that you cannot be getting your quarter
(48:10):
quarterback hit a lot because if you look at because
he's not nimble and and as like a Lamar Jackson
where Lamar Jackson gets tackled but he doesn't take a
lot of hits, and Sam Ellinger he's not fleet of
foot like that, so he's going to take more hits
and he's gonna have trouble staying healthy. And there's no
(48:31):
way that he plays well enough to to for them
to uh say, oh man, yes, yeah, we're gonna keep
doing this for the next you know, ten games of
the of the season. I just don't see it there. Yeah,
I don't know. My connection was bad, kind of like
Matt Ryan's to Cults receivers this season. But I think
(48:52):
that you can see Nick Foles before you even see
Matt Ryan again. Kirk correct I. I think that that's
probably the more likely scenario because they wanted to go
to Sam Ellinger to see if there's anything there. But
how many weeks do you think it will be bit
before Nick Foles gets the shot? I think that I
think you have to have a little bit. You've got
(49:16):
to let Ellinger have the job for a couple of weeks.
But if the Colts end up dropping three in a
row and they've got the Patriots and Raiders before they
face the Eagles, if he hasn't made in these next
two weeks, I think you got to start fools in
that game against Philly. Well, the problem is is that
now you're punting on the entire season already. Sure, but
(49:37):
you're also moving ahead in the thoughts of the quarterback race.
I mean, they're they're three, three and one right now,
you know, and you'd have an opportunity if you if
you they're down one now is their field goal was good,
so it's seven to six. But if there isn't a
lot there and you lose to the Patriots and Raiders,
now you're what three six and one, four five and one? Um,
(50:01):
you're on the borderline there, and instead of punting with
seven games left, I think you at least have to
you have to at least figure out a way of
how we're gonna win football games. And they've got their
answer with Matt Ryan. Matt Ryan is Matt Ryan spen
this guy for the last three years. For some reason,
they just thought differently. And I couldn't understand that, Dan.
I was like, how, how don't people see that this
(50:25):
is probably even a worse version of Philip Rivers And
they keep shopping in the scratching DMP bend four quarterbacks
like guys nearing year twenty. You know what, I mean
like like think thinking that that is going to do
be what they needed to to be. And honestly, they
(50:47):
have completely squandered what was the potential Super Bowl window.
They have squandered it because you're gonna need need new
contracts for Jonathan Taylor, for Quintin Nelson, for Shack Leonard,
for uh even for DeForrest Buckner. So all of that
(51:08):
goodwill that you built up in the draft by drafting
some great players is now gonna get destroyed because now
you got to do it again. And that because they're
gonna be gone in free agency, or your salary cap
is gonna be jacked up because you have to pay
them so much. Sure, Nelson got his contract extension, so
he's gonna be around. Jonathan Taylor has had an awful year.
(51:28):
Ums fancy for fancy football players. They know full well
he had an ankle injury. Uh left part of today's
game and then ended up coming back. But this was
also a Jim Rsey move. This was a Jim Rsey
move to move to Ellinger. And honestly, if it gets
to that point, then then tells you what Frank Reich
and Chris Ballard's future is. If if this doesn't work out,
(51:49):
and now they got to turn the nick Foles. They
just may need to end up cleaning house and in
completely starting over. Yeah, but is that Frank Wright's fault though,
because didn't matter. Honestly, it doesn't matter. And as well
like if if he's gonna be the quarterback whisperer, it's
failed and failed, and yeah, but you gotta give him
(52:10):
a quarterback you do, But if you're a GM, you're
gonna want your own guy in there. And as we've
seen in the NFL of hiring practices of gms and
head coaches being tied at the hip, there's just there's
not a lot of hope for Frank Wright to stick around, yep.
Because when you do not give yourself a chance at quarterback,
(52:31):
you have failed your situation. You have there there is
no way to win in the NFL with with with
incompetent quarterback play, Like you must have good quarterback play
to win, or you must have an outstanding running game
and an outstanding defense and then and then you can
(52:54):
have just average quarterback play and win like the like
the forty Niners do with Jimmy Rappolo. He's George Rice
Stir I'm Dan Buyer. This is Fox Football Sunday, a
Red Zone radio edition here in week eight. I want
to play a quick, short clip, George, because I'm gonna
tell you the one lost team that's in my crosshairs.
And and I'll tell you what, because of circumstances, because
(53:17):
of connections, maybe I shouldn't throw slander on the Minnesota Vikings.
And until Iowa Sam, We're gonna even just the short
clip of some audio that you're gonna hear. But here's
here's the thing about the Minnesota Vikings, George, that I
am not I am not ready to cash in on yet.
I am not ready to cash in on the Vikings
of being a legit threat in the NFL. And this
(53:38):
this may be a little out of context, but because
it's short. However, Justin Jefferson spoke with Tom Paloceero of
the NFL Network after the game and had this to say.
We felt like we missed left on since the beginning
of the season. Okay, they've been slept on since the
beginning of the season. There, yes, thank you, thank you it. Okay,
(54:01):
if you want your flowers before Halloween, that tells me
where your mind is at. Like like, it doesn't matter
if you're slept on or not if you have Super
Bowl aspiration. He's right, like, there there is no slept
upon the like, how can you possibly be slept upon
(54:28):
when you have you have only played seven football games,
but you're slept upon? Slept upon? George, it's it's a disaster, dude.
Because they beat the Packers in week one, we we
(54:48):
have learned the Packers are not very good. And also
the Packers punt on on uh week week one every year,
so that's the first thing. Then they come back and
they get absolutely undressed and in barrassed by the Philadelphia Eagles,
just just taken behind the wood. Cheat. And then you
beat the Lions barely and they're not a great football team.
(55:11):
You beat the Saints, not a great football team. You
beat the Bears, not a good football team. You beat
the Dolphins without a quarterback, not a good football team
with without a quarterback, and uh because they were on
their third stringer or fourth stringer at that time. And
then you have and then they beat the Cardinals today,
which are not a very good football team. Now granted
(55:32):
you do you if you are a good team, you
are supposed to beat team beat the bad teams. But
slept Upon if they don't get out of Dodge Bro,
if they don't get the hell out of here with
this slept On madness. But but you guys, we will continue.
We will continue to monitor the game's going on today.
(55:57):
Touchdowns happening, uh, new quarterbacks in play, And you guys
are listening to Fox Sports Sunday. I'm George rice Stir

Christian McCaffrey through a touchdown earlier. Now he's caught one
nine yards out from Jimmy Garoppolo. Extra point is good.
(56:40):
Niners lead the Rams seventeen to fourteen. Late in the
third quarter, Derrick Henry is over two hundred yards is
the Titans lead the Texans seventeen to three. Early in
the fourth quarter, Seahawks driving, tied with the Giants at
ten apiece with two forty seven left to go on
the third looks like Seattle is gonna have to attempt
a field goal after failing to come vert on a
third and three and the Colts were driving, but Jonathan
(57:03):
Taylor fumbled, Commanders recovered, Colts forced a punt, but it's
Washington up on in the seven six Nearing the end
of the third quarter, Colts have the football back and
near midfield. We are live from the entire irack dot
com studios and joining us as he does every week,
to talk about all the happenings in the NFL. He's
our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider that you can hear
on the Inside the Birds podcast. Adam Kaplan joins this
(57:24):
year on Fox Sports Radio. Hello Adam, how are you?
Good Man? Wild Sunday, your Seahawks dan On Forture just
drop the touchdown right right into Lockets hands. Another dying
by your guy Gino who Nolan's he the most improved
player in the National Football League. It's one of the
all time stories. If you talk to personal people around
the league. They would tell you they didn't see anything
good from Gina Smith prior to this in his entire career.
(57:47):
But this has been pretty amazing. It it really has.
And as he just said, not getting any help from
from his guys in DK Metcalf. Obviously, the knee injury
last week hasn't been much of a factor even though
he was act of today. But THEE would not have
thrown that ball any better unless he unless he handed
it to him. I mean, but, um, but Adam. Now,
(58:10):
now we were talking about teams that need quarterbacks rights
and Gino Smith I said that if you're the Seahawks,
I'm not going out and drafting a quarter quarterback. That
this is a five year answer, I think Or is
that overstating it? No? Um, okay, So here's the way
you should look at it. Let' let's see what happens
to the rest of the season. Number one, if by
(58:30):
chance and then they still can do it, they're technically
leading the uh NFC West. Let's let's have this season
plays out in the division, plays out, if they make
the playoffs, that' see how he plays. And then because
a lot of teams have to deal with this, so
that they're not the only team that's looking for a quarterback.
The Carolina obviously they're definitely gonna do something the quarterback.
But when you're in this situation, you want to let
(58:50):
the situation play out. So like the Eagles, after Jalen
Hurts has played terrific football, has made major improvement, well,
they want to see how he does in the playoffs.
He didn't play well last year late in the season,
in fact, he was he struggled against the Bucks in
the first round. You'll let it play out. But think
about this with Jenna Smith. We went from Drew Lock
being the favorite to win the job to okay, Juno
Smith was better than Drew Lock, who's not very good.
(59:12):
Nobody expects anything from Gino. Oh wow, June's playing well,
it's if you continue to this after the first three games, well,
we're through seven games now. He's actually been one of
the best pastors of the National football because this now
the question is could he hold up? Will this continue?
If it does? Georgia right, he's coming back, and you
know how much money he would save if he's a
starting quarterback next year and draft picks. Oh, the best
thing that ever happened in the Seahawks. What about Sam
(59:32):
Ellinger's status, Like how long is this audition and and
how well does this audition have to go for him
to be maybe more than just a short term fix. Yeah, listen,
I heard you guys before I came on here. He
no one's thinking he'll be the starter next year. They
just want to valuate him. Here, here's my understanding of
the situation. Had a good training camp the well in
the preseason. Uh, I'm gonna say three weeks ago he
(59:53):
surpassed Nick Foles is the number two quarterback. They were
not really thinking of of moving on from Matt ro In.
But their line it's such problems. They don't have a
left tackle, one of the guard spots has been a problem.
They were not anticipating this coming in this season, but
it call like it is. Their offensive line has been
disappointing the past protection was poor and they just felt
like Matt Ryan could not play behind this line. And
(01:00:15):
Eleanor is a pretty athletic guy around the ball for
over five fifty times at University of Texas. He's the
four carriage today and but no one's in under any
illusions he's not gonna be the quarterback next year. It's
just let's see what he can do. Let's see you
can give us a bolst in that division. I mean,
if you if you look at the a f C
South right now, Okay, it looks like the Titans are
probably gonna do it again. Uh. They're the team that
(01:00:37):
nobody really follows very much nationally, but right now they're
they're clearly got it going on. They're demolishing the Texans.
But you'd like to see, if you're the Colts, what
what could he be for you going forward? And that's
what they're gonna do. Um, the Raiders they lost twenty
four to nothing. They didn't even run a play in
(01:00:57):
Saints territory and two I think they danced at fifty
over fifty eight minutes into the game. What what's the
story there? Well, the story is that not having Darren
Wallers killed them at tight end. They need him, that
they extended his contract. Uh, they kept bogging down four
and out, six and out, couldn't move. The football protection
(01:01:19):
was poor. Uh, they gave up some big place to
the Camaro just destroyed them. So yeah, they're look there,
they've got problems on defense. That's in their secondary they've
got real problems back there. They couldn't pressure any Dalton Dalton.
See the key for for the Saints is Dalton right
now is a very good chance to keep the starting job.
(01:01:40):
He threw the ball really well against the Cardinals, but
he had a couple of mistakes. If you don't turn
it over and they have a pretty good past, our
good group, you've got a chance to at least be
five hundred around there. Obviously eight nine or nine and eight,
they have a chance to turn their season rather now
three and five. But I know the Raider fans are
very down on Josh McDaniels. Though they great win the
previous week, you always have to consider the competition. Being
(01:02:01):
the Texas is not exactly an accomplishment. Adam Capitlin or
Fox Sports Radio, NFL and Center joining us here on
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio Live from the entirerect dot
Com studios. He's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan buy Er.
Find Adam on Twitter at Kaplan NFL. So when does
Zach Wilson start to become a topic of conversation in
the Big Apple now? And it's right, yeah, no. Look,
(01:02:23):
the one thing I'll say about Zack Wilson, not time.
I'm trying to defend him. Let's not forget he had surgery.
He had surgery before the season started and that curtailed
kind of the beginning of it of a season he had.
He had a meniscus trim and yeah, I think Georgie
and George, you and I talked about this some weeks ago.
It's it's you know, yes, it'll get you back sooner,
but it doesn't mean his knee is not gonna be sorting.
(01:02:45):
Plus he missed too, he missed four weeks of practice time.
He's a young quarterback, kneeds reps. Is he's so inaccurate.
He the term with frenetic. He just keeps moving for
no reason. It's just he's not a comfortable quarterback. And
Elijah Moore was asked again a Lajah Moore. I know
he wants out. He was asked after the game about
what the issue is, but I'm not getting the football.
(01:03:08):
He said, you got to ask the quarterback. So that's
they got. Look, they're five and three and they're clearly
way better and we expected Vegas only gave him a
five and a half win total for the season. But
you can't have that and Zach Wilson obviously is a
big reason why they're not doing well. Um, now the
game over in London, you had the Jaguars and the Broncos.
The Jaguars are clearly getting better, but nowhere close to
(01:03:30):
where they need to be. Did didn't Nathaniel hack it
by this day of execution by winning his game? Well,
George Payton, the the GM spoke this week. He sure
seems like he really defended him and Russell Wilson, after
a terrible start, really got himself together, made some good
froze there. Look, he's playing hurt with the knee and
the shoulder and hamstring, and he's doing the best city can.
(01:03:52):
Their defense is tremendous, by the way. That the reason
why they're staying games is because their defense, not their offense.
But Wilson made throws. And how about that your your
former Aguars there start off to one. They've now lost
five in a row. That ain't good, my friend, that
is not good. Doug Peterson has dug himself a little
bit of a hole in Jacksonville after that, uh that
(01:04:12):
promising start. Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio NFL in
center joining us here. Uh as it's Week eight in
the NFL. Colts thought they got into the end zone,
but Michael Pittman Jr. Snopped just a half yard short
and then the third and goal run did not get in,
So decision time for the Colts. Jonathan Taylor stopped short
down one. You gotta take the points, you gotta take
(01:04:34):
the lead, right especially if you're I'm just no man.
They need a touchdown because it's fourth and goal from
the three, so it looks like they're going to bring
out the field goal unit to take the lead. Um,
I was not. I'm not loving the Vikings, Adam. You
know they win today. Yeah, I just we played a
(01:04:57):
cut a little bit earlier. And I'm not trying to
I'm not trying to pile on on Justin Jefferson at all.
You know. I like it when guys say what they
feel whatever, But I just you're not a buyer either.
It sounds like, I mean, there's a Super Bowl content, folks.
They play the Packers. Yes, they won Week one. Okay,
Packers have a losing record, but no one knew the
Packers wouldn't be good. They got the mall shipped Philly
(01:05:17):
on Monday night. They were terrible in that game. I'll
give vehicles credit for that. When the game was it
was a seven teen point loss. It did it seemed
like with forty they barely being a bad Lions team.
They barely be a bad Saints team. They beat a
bad Bears team by seven, and they had a nice
game that was I'll say this one. The best one
of the season was at Miami. I thought they played
a very complete game and they almost blew that game.
(01:05:39):
Today to the Cardinals. They kind of self destructed, but
so did the Cardinals. Fun game, by the way, was
anyone's game, and I'll give him credit. Uh, we're gonna
know a lot more. I'll tell you what. If you
look at their schedule, it doesn't get hard, doesn't. They
don't play a winning team until Week ten at Buffalo.
Then they play the Cowboys and they have to also
play the Patriots and then then the Jets. So then
we were really gonna learn all about them. Then what
(01:06:02):
what is going on in the Packers locker room? Because
I've said I have not liked the way Aaron Rodgers
is talking about his teammates to his teammates through the media.
He feels like management and not one of the players.
What what's going on in that locker room. He's got it. Look,
he's got carte blanche to say whatever he wants. Yes,
he didn't. It's funny, George. You don't need to know
(01:06:24):
who he's talking about. I know he's not naming it.
We we we knew who he's talking. Romeo Dobbs number eighty
seven is rookie receiver. By the way, they love him,
super cannibal kid, high character. What's happened is he's had
some chops. He's also been late. Rogers had the same
problem with Mark oz Valda Scanli was now with the Chiefs.
When when mvs is early in his career about not
(01:06:44):
being at a certain spot when the ball is there.
You know, they were running a old school West Coast offense.
It's all about timing and you got to be there.
And they're gonna have to do something receiver if they
want to turn their season. And I know, I know
Roger gotta trust's past targets, but they really need to
go get a receiver that that they just can't go
with these guys going forward. This guy Ryndald cobs On
I R. Sammy Watkins is near the end of his
(01:07:04):
career has always been heard. They gotta do something there.
There's no lock to make the playoffs. Like legitimately, they
see there are other problems. Their defense isn't really as
good as people thought it would be. They have a
ton of talent, they're super talented, but their scheme is
their scheme is not getting the job done, and they
are not a lock for the playoffs quite frankly in
the NFC. In fact, we're still early here and and
(01:07:26):
teams could turn around. I'm sure they'll be much better.
But if you look at now Atlanta, we'll see about them,
But when you really look at it, they're on the
outside looking in right now green Bay? All right, then
we'll we'll end with this because it is trade deadline
week coming up on Tuesday. We've seen Darius Tony b ELTs,
we saw Robbie Anderson. Is there another wide receiver that
could be maybe going to Green Bay to help them out? Um, then, well,
(01:07:48):
I'm gonna give you the names of my, my, my,
All the names have gotten for personnel people. Brandon Cooks.
The problem is the eighteen million next year tradable for
this year. But the problem is that he would have
to restructures contract that could happen. That Texas are the
NFL's worst team. K J. Hamler, former second rounder for
the Broncos who barely is used. Nelson Aghlor who was
overpaid at nine million. Uh, he's barely used. A Denzel
(01:08:11):
Mims who actually played a decent amount today for the Jets.
Ken Kendrick Borne could be traded, but the name is
to keep an eye on Cream Hunt. I think probably
of my list of of our thirty players, probably it's
the most chance to be traded. They like Jerome Ford
is gonna come off I r soon from high uncles brand,
I'm told, And remember he's on the last year's deal,
a pro raded one point three million base salary, very
(01:08:32):
tradable contract for a team that's going absolutely nowhere. Alright.
He's Adam cap on our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider.
Get him on Twitter at Kaplan NFL. I'm sure we'll
be following is on the deals. Hopefully there are deals
go down later this week. Thanks Adam, talk to you
next week. He's George Rice drom Dan Bayer. Let's get
an update of what is happening from many blanios at
(01:08:52):
the News desk. Is it's week eate the NFL Niners
knocking on the door of so much more? What's going on? Yeah,
Christian McCaffrey just one yards short of scoring that touchdown.
So they're knocking at the door. Are they doing it? Yes,
they just scored a touchdown. I think they're calling it.
I'm calling it, Yes, I'm calling it. Okay, confirmed, confirmed,
(01:09:13):
because I didn't see I only saw the players calling.
It's like, give me rest, monster. Screen, George is like
an eighteen inch screen in our studio. You know, it's
not like they in that you know, household right right right?
And this is me using just the screen for one game.
I'm not I can't do the mix. It's hard speaking
(01:09:33):
of that super super quickly. I have three screens in here.
I have two like two inches, and then like a
smaller screen right, and then I have my iPad here.
So I'm watching everything. But but so I record videos
in here. To the other day, I knocked the light
over and I didn't think anything of it, and I
(01:09:54):
went to go turn the TV on. Today broke the
damn TV. Oh that sucks. Well, it's a good thing.
You have another three, right, You're good you're good. Yeah, yeah,
Titans Texans on the broken TV. That's probably best. Yeah,
so broken broken foot, you don't have to watch it,
(01:10:18):
That's that's exactly right. I'm with you. So with that score,
the forty Niners have extended their lead over the Rams.
They are up twenty four to fourteen early in the
fourth quarter, plenty of game left. The Seahawks are beating
the Giants thirteen to ten, also early in the fourth quarter.
And we've got the Titans that are all over the Texans.
Derrick Henry is amazing and he's, you know, breaking records
(01:10:41):
along the way. Henry standing up touch that Titans the
franchise record for touchdowns seventy five for the King all
on the Titans radio network. With six minutes to go
in the game, the Titans are beating Texans seventeen to three.
Derrick Henry thirty one carries two hundred and nineteen yards
(01:11:05):
and two touchdowns in the game so far. To seventy
five is the most touchdowns in Titans and Oiler's history.
And he just broke that record. And we've got the
Colts that have taken the lead on the Commanders without
scoring any touchdowns, and they are up nine to seven
early in the fourth quarter. Are you guys ready for
Halloween for tomorrow? Are you gonna dress up? I'm not,
(01:11:27):
You're just getting getting getting broady ready for it? What's
he going to dress up as? Gosh, you know, I
don't know if I could tell you because I didn't
tell my mom. I gotcha, Okay, alright, you can tell
me later. Alright. I can't wait to see pictures. Well.
Colts quarterback Isaiah Rodgers he's ready for Halloween. He's wearing
some custom cleats. It's like a mummy, so they're wrapped
(01:11:51):
in this like weird fabric like a mummy, and it
even has like a body in it, so it has
green like lit up eyes when he's running. It's super creepy.
They're super cool. I'm a big fan. Apparently he likes
this stuff. Last year he wore Michael Jackson thriller cleats.
But these are cool. It's a mummy and there's like
a zombie in there. You can see the green eyes
(01:12:11):
and they light up and then he has his number
on the side too. Not bad, I know, George. Are
you are you going to dress up? Um? I am
only out of obligation because do the dress up thing,
but the fan does. Good way to be a part
of the team and not be a party pooper. Good job, Yeah,
I just I just grant and bear and pretend and
(01:12:33):
pretend like I like it, even though even though I don't.
You get extra points from me for that. Back to you, guys,
we bought a bag of Halloween candy that had like
six different kinds in Now the bag is down. Whoppers, Yes,
we've picked it all apart. May have to go to
the store tonight and pick up how many how many
(01:12:55):
Almond joy are left? It didn't I did not pick
up an Almond Joy. I'll tell you that. Bring them,
Bring them to bring me all the trade, all the
almond Joys for for nasty and you can take all
the Reese's pieces. What is all of that trash? That
(01:13:19):
is it is one of the work. No eat followed
those Reese's pieces. Okay, what are you talking about? Don't
hate on the Rees pieces. And Reese's peanut butter cups
are atroci. The only thing worse is is candy corn. Well, no,
that's not even a real one. That's that's I bought
(01:13:41):
them candy corn second package. Actually it's a third package
of the year last night. Love the candy Black Black
licoricean Twizzlers, Loving some Cancorn. Thank you very much, bon
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. The Heinz got
into the end zone for of the Colts. They picked
(01:14:01):
off Taylor Heineke and were able to drive down A
pass interference call did a lot of the work for Indie,
but Heinz gets into the end zone. Extra point is good.
So it's six seven Colts on top of the Commanders
with eleven minutes to go. Eleven minutes to go in
Seattle and the Giants half pulled even with the Seahawks
with a field goal tied up at thirteen. The Breeders
Cup Rold Championships are coming to a Kona Keenland November
(01:14:21):
fourth and fifth. Don't maste the World's Best Girl Bred's
race for their share of thirty one million dollars in
purses and awards because a Breeders Cup dot Com to
watch all the action live on November fourth and fifth.
He's George Rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer. This is a
Fox Sports Radio. A big debate popped up in the
NFL this week. George and I will debate. It's Merritt
next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Tyler Lockett
(01:14:45):
didn't drop this one. It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio
on a Fox Football Sunday. He's the six year NFL event.
George rice Stir, I'm Dan Buyer, Geno Smith. It's Tyler
Lockett from thirty three yards out passing catch, extra point
is good. Seahawks lead the Giants twenty three routeen to
go in the game. It was earlier that Locket dropped
what was a sure touchdown. Seattle had to settle for three.
(01:15:08):
Now they have a seven point lead. The Titans up
on the Texans seventeen to three with a minute to go.
Texans have the football, but the clock is ticking, so
Tennessee on their way to a victory. Niners continue to
lead the ramsourteen Christian McCaffrey a touchdown passing, a touchdown running,
and a touchdown receiving today for the Niners and the
Colts up sixteen to seven on the Commander's Washington though
(01:15:29):
does have the football in Indianapolis territory at the thirty
yard line, but again down two scores in that game
seven minutes and counting. Welcome to the Fox Sports Radio

free home Delivery, Big green egg dot Com. George. This week,
a lot of conversation about grass versus turf when it
comes to the play surfaces, specifically off the heels of
what happened last week in the Charger Seahawks game, where
you had j C. Jackson suffering a serious knee injury
that's cost him the season. In the same game, you
(01:16:12):
had DK Metcalfe suffering knee injury. We've seen injuries at
SOFI Stadium. Cooper Cup spoke up about her versus grass,
But is this a real like arguments like is there
I mean, you could say all you want, I just don't.
I don't know if we live in a world where
the NFL could be all grass fields. Um, first thing
(01:16:36):
is we we do live in a world where they
all could be grass fields. Yeah, yeah, it's it's expensive
and it's more upkeep But would you rather let what
would you rather the players be healthier? Yes, I mean
it is grass. Grass is better. There are the less concussions,
less knee injuries, all of that stuff on on grass.
(01:17:00):
And you even have some some some teams that have
grass indoors like this is two. There are elevent million
things that that we can do that seem absolutely impossible, right,
that seems improbable, and uh, putting grass fields indoors or
(01:17:22):
even outdoors in inclement weather, they can figure out how
to do it. So I'm I'm not. I mean, there
are only a handful of places where you can really
justify it, right, You could justify it like maybe New
England Chicago, but Chicago has grass again. Now, well, yeah,
that this is the issue that that I see is
(01:17:46):
that the grass fields that you get indoors, like you
get in Arizona and you get in Las Vegas, are
not the same grass fields that you get at lambeau Field.
And there are actually NFL fields that aren't great that
were grass fields. There's Soldier Field was one of them.
At one point, Hines Field was what I just have
(01:18:07):
to be kept up better. I mean, that's the thing
is that is that you can. You can physically do it, dude.
There are hydroponic things that that that that you can grow.
There are a billion options, so I can't hear the
the option of just oh man, it's it's it's hard
to do, man, figure it out. This is a what
(01:18:27):
eleven twelve billion dollar a year industry. If you have
to spend you know, fifty million dollars a year on
grass to make sure that some of your best players
and that you put a good product out, then then yes,
that's what you do. Well, then you're missing out on
those concerts maybe that you would have or if you
do have a concert that could put your grass field
(01:18:50):
and peril. We've seen that before. Well they do with
the Raiders. They well, in in the Raiders case, they
just moved the whole damn field out. You can't do that.
It's so fi right now, Like you couldn't be able
to do that. You know, you couldn't do it at
Lucas Oil. You couldn't do it at that. You can
do it in the super Dome, Well, you can do
it in the in the new stadiums that you have built. Yeah,
(01:19:14):
that's the realistic feature of it though, Like they're They're like,
you can if you have the tray built in like
they do it in Arizona and just move it back
and forth. They're like they're doing Las Vegas. That's fine,
but you can't build a tray now for l A
and so Fi Stadium then put a grass field out there.
It just I understand the conversation, and it does seem yeah,
(01:19:35):
it should be played on grass. But also then, as
I mentioned, there's other events that these things take place on.
There's other teams that also play on this sort of surface,
So you're talking about additional wear and tear. Just it's
a nice conversation to have. I just don't think it's realistic.
He's George rice Stir I'm Dan Buyer. Niners score again,
this time Jimmy Garoppolo a touchdown pass to George Kittle
(01:19:58):
from seven yards out, nine thirty one, rams fourteen, and
the Commander's kicked a field goal to get within six
with under five minutes to go. He's George Royster. I'm
Dan Buyer. Sas sold the seven point lead Texans in
the end zone, but too little, too late. We talked
about all of Week eate next year on Fox Sports Radio,
Oh We've got some happenings going on, and we gave
welcome aboard as we are broadcasting live from the tire

dot com the way tire buying should be. The Giants
forced the Seahawks punt. The problem was as they fumbled
on the punt return recovered by Seattle and Kenneth Walker
(01:20:42):
has broken about five tackles on his way to the
end zone to extend the Seahawks lead now to two scores.
It's with five twenty two left to go in the game.
Extra point coming up could make it a fourteen point
ball game, but Kenneth Walker the third shedding tack goals
as the Seahawks now I've got some separation from the Giants.
(01:21:03):
The Niners have had separation from the Rams for a
decent amount of the second half and with just two
forty nine to go in the game, Niners leading l
at one to fourteen in a game from Christian McCaffrey
that I want George to weigh in on in just
a matter of seconds. But he became the third player
today since nineteen seventy to pass for a touchdown, to
(01:21:27):
run for a touchdown, and also catch a touchdown. So
Christian McCaffrey in some in some rare air with that
feat today. And then you have the Colts and Commanders
two minute warning. Commanders have the football, but they're facing
a third and two from their own nineteen yard line.
It would looked like the Coults were gonna be able
to extend their drive, but Sam Ellinger, his knee was
(01:21:48):
down about a half yard short of a scramble. So
the Colts decided to punt it away and we'll see
if Taylor Heineke can work his magic down six with
two minutes to go. Do you think it's any coincidence, George,
that in the trade for Christian McCaffrey, and in the
build up to it, and even in the aftermath of it,
that we heard that the Rams were considered maybe the
(01:22:10):
runner up in the Christian McCaffrey sweepstakes. Do you find
do you think it's any coincidence at all that the
Niners decided today against the Rams, the team that came
also close to acquiring him, that they figured they'd pull
out the full bag of tricks for the newly acquired
running back. You think it's I think it's any coincidence
that this is planned or is it only coincidence in
(01:22:31):
that aspect? No, No, I think it's the only coincidence
that they're just trying to maximize how they use him,
and he's an absolute weapon. I mean, I'm I'm so
happy that he went to the forty Niners instead of
the Rams, because the like, what what good could the Rams? Like?
How how could the Rams have used him? I mean, really,
(01:22:53):
they can't block anybody. They can't block me in you,
so you would be wasting one of the most talent
to players in the NFL. That's the that's the issue,
and it's it's been pretty pretty amazing and just how
quickly he became a part of what the Niners did.
Uh from today and I'll eat crow for us. I
(01:23:17):
was not the people loved that deal with Christian McCaffrey,
and I still was, like, I love for both teams.
I loved it for both teams. It is interesting though
that Kyle Shanahan he never ever ever runs a running
back the way he does Christian McCaffrey and they've had
(01:23:38):
some good backs and for him to get eighteen carries
and then another what eight catches like, that's not that's
not Kyle Shanahan m O. Now, I understand. I understand
that Christian McCaffrey's a special talent, but I also have
wondered for a long time why he just doesn't try
(01:23:59):
to buy into one why one one running back and
try to do something special there. But now now he's
got the flashy name and now he has to do it. Yeah,
I do think injury history has played a little role
in it, because I didn't think that. I did think
that Elijah Mitchell started to grasp the position last year
(01:24:20):
and that there was a hierarchy. But Mitchell has been
hurt just like where he Mostard had been hurting. Now
most of it's in Miami, and Jeff Wilson Jr. Has
been hurt and he's the guy now that McCaffrey is
is is replaced. But to your point, I think it's
it's very fair. And you know, I tend to look
at things from a fantasy football perspective. Um also looking
(01:24:40):
at this just because of the podcast my Carment and
I do I want your flex launches twice each week,
so you can download that. But the other point is
there was no Deebo Samuel today. So now to put
Christian McCaffrey in a role George in less than that's
it week and a half, right, I mean he was
acquired a week ago Friday or Thursday or Friday, so
(01:25:01):
it's really been just a week and a half, and
now you're missing one of your bigger parts and to
figure out a way to use McCaffrey and that, do
not be surprised. And I know that this is gonna
sound like sacrilege to some some people. If you see
Deebo Samuel on the on the move, don't be surprised
(01:25:24):
at that. And and the reason would be is that
part of the thing that made that makes him so
valuable is his ability as a as a as a runner,
you know what I mean? And then like how good
is he as a receiver alone? And I think that's
(01:25:44):
a legitimate question. You did just get that three year
extension UH this year UH in the off season, which
was a point of contention because Debot had his UH
thoughts of what he did and what he wanted to do,
but he ended up getting that extension. But now you
have these hess in place, and I'm not gonna cash
you all my chips on it. I just feel like
(01:26:04):
I need to at least give credit where credit is
due to Kyle shanahan and the Niners today because the
Christian McCaffrey experiment did work, and it worked against the
team that It's funny because this Fox promo had been
airing all week long and it's you may have seen it.
It's with Aaron Andrews and Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olson.
They're kind of in this living room sort of setting
and they're talking about, you know, the game of the week,
(01:26:27):
and they go, you know, it's one of the bigger,
you know, better rivalries, you know, one of the best
rivalries in the NFL. And Greg Olsen goes, I think
it is, and and then you look back and you
look at it, and now you look at what's happened,
and I think he's right. I think that Rams Niners
right now is the best rivalry that we've got going
in the NFL. And by the way, a quick side
(01:26:48):
notice we talked about Rams Niners. The Rams are down
seventeen points with a minute to go, and Cooper Cup
was just tackled and is now slow to get up.
So there's a minute two to go in this contest
George and Cooper Cup. Is it looked like it was
Fred Warner brought him down and he came down offerately.
(01:27:11):
And so now when you have replaced Darrel Henry, they
got nothing without Cooper Cup. Who would Matthews the effort
throw the throw the football too? I I don't know,
but I I mean, I could say Allen Robinson and
then you're like, Okay, we'll bring in Odell Beckham Jr.
(01:27:32):
But yeah, to your point, it's like that doesn't matter.
But the other part of it is it's you're done
by seventeen points with a minute to go third and four.
Why is Cooper Cup even on the field, on a
field that we just talked about fifteen minutes ago, George,
that Cooper Cup was critical of and then other like,
I know that doesn't come into the conversation. It's going
(01:27:53):
to add to the conversation. At the time. You're not like, well,
we're at so far should I do it or not?
But it's not like this comes out of nowhere. And
the reason that you would not have your player on
the field down seventeen points is because you don't want
them injured and so on a meaningless third down, who
cares if you don't get it and you punted away,
like while is Cooper Cup in the game at this point,
(01:28:15):
because because you're still trying to go and and honestly,
at the end of the games, players don't really want
to come out, especially when teams are playing soft coverage
that those are easy, those are easy stat stat line
games that those are eating. I mean that's easy and easy.
Three catches fifty yards you you you might sneak in
(01:28:37):
a late touchdown, a cheap one like you like, uh,
like Damian Pierce got today. So yeah, it's that's that's
why players don't want to come out. And then also
the rosters are so short in the NFL that there's
only a couple of people that can come out of
the game, Like realistically there there there's like maybe five people.
(01:28:57):
Well if all then then just run the ball, like
you know, I mean Cooper Cup was able to walk
off on his own power, but at that point, just
run the ball. I mean, there's no point in putting
Cooper Cup in harm's way. By the way, in Indianapolis.
The Commanders have now gotten it first and goal at
the one yard line. Taylor Heineke just threw a jump
ball up to Terry McLaurin, who wrote, Terry, you wrestled.
(01:29:24):
We we talked about that last week. Yes, yes we did.
He wrestled the ball away from Stefan Gilmore and he's
down at the one yard line. But it was a
jump ball and McLaurin goes up and gets it and
takes it away. So the Commanders have it first and
goal at the one and Taylor Heineke has been able
to get into the end zone on a quarterback sneak.
(01:29:47):
So the game is now tied in Indianapolis and Washington
is an extra point away from taking a one point lead. Wow.
This is and I'll say this, Taylor Heineke made a
play we were in commercial break, yes, with his legs
(01:30:10):
to be able to keep it going. And that is
a play that that Carson Wentz does not make. He
absolutely does not make. You need a mobile quarterback in
that scenario. And it's not a personal knock on Carson Wentz.
Matt Ryan doesn't make that play. On the other side line,
maybe Sam Olinger does I'm not sure, but I know
you have to move. And Taylor Heineke moved, kept the
(01:30:31):
drive alive, and now the extra point is good. So
Washington up seventeen to sixteen on the Colts with twenty
two seconds left to go in Indianapolis. Wow, he said,
you could not understand. I could not understand in the
off season. Now, granted, Taylor Heineke is not a world beater, right,
(01:30:55):
but but he is. He's a competent NFL quarterback and
he's still super young, and he showed some flashes last year,
so I thought, if you give him another year, he'll
be even better. But but what the commanders did instead
is they said, no, no, no no, no, We're gonna go
(01:31:16):
out and go get Carson Wins. That'll be the answer.
I was like, Bro, you're better off with Taylor Heineken,
then you are with Carson Wentz. And now they are
forced to be with Taylor Heineke. And and now he
is clearly showing that he's the better option. First of all,
(01:31:37):
he can get the ball to the guy you paid
a trillion dollars to at wide at wide receiver who's
one of the best in the league and scary Terry
scary Terry Mitton mcglauri. So so that's the first thing,
because there's no reason why you should be coming into
this game in the season, and he only has twenty
seven catches and one of the best receivers in in
(01:31:59):
the league. And that's gonna open up your running game
and everything else. And now and now a game against
the Colts, he's the better quarterback. Oh, and it's and
it's no wonder the board. The better quarterback is getting
ready to win the game. By the way, Terry McLaurin
the Fox broadcast put a stat up four and oh
all time playing in Lucas Oil Stadium, two and oh
(01:32:23):
in state championship games, two and oh and Big Ten
title games, and now maybe on the verge of going
one and oh in the NFL and his first NFL game.
By the way, Sam Elinger did find an open Michael
Pittman Jr. On a crossing route, And if Pittman Jr.
Catches this football, he has an opportunity to run out
(01:32:46):
of bounds and stop the clock. Instead, took his eye
off the ball, George dropped it. So it's gonna be
second down in ten fifteen seconds left at their own
twenty five yard line. It's a thin line between in
and lose it. Seahawks have the football up two scores
on the Giants nearing the two minute warning. It's welcome
(01:33:08):

(01:33:32):
Pittman completed, but short of the sticks and not out
of bounds, so the Colts end up using a time out.
They only got seven yards on the play, So now
down to one final play in Indianapolis. And I'll tell
you a good job by Washington to keep Pittman in
bounds in that scenario, Not that it really played that
(01:33:52):
much of of of a role in it because there
are only six seconds left in the game, but Pittman
was going out of bounds. Maybe could have put a
cup a little more ticks left on the clock. Now
the Colts had to use their time out and only
have six seconds to go final play. We're gonna bring
it here. Yeah, we'll tell you what happens. We won't
leave you hanging, Colts fans or Commanders fans. I don't
think the Colts fans are probably listening. I think they
(01:34:13):
probably turned this one off after the the Terry McLaurin
catch and the the sneak because the Colts found a
way to lose, and it is over pressure on Taylor.
Heineke throws one to Michael Pittman, but he has tackled immediately.
So that's the ball game. Washington wins an Indie over
the Colts seventeen to sixteen. I'm sure Dan Snyder feels
(01:34:34):
a little bit of happiness uh in beating Jim or
Say in this one. I found it. I found it hilarious,
George that I got a news alert on my phone
saying that Jim Mercy and Dan Snyder have not spoken
since Jim Ercay had said Snyder hads Uh should sell
the team, which I thought was quite odd considering I
don't know if Dan Snyder even speaks to some of
his employees, let alone the fellow owner who wants him
(01:34:56):
to get rid of the team. Not shocking in my mind.
Yeah yeah, And Daniel Daniel Snyder can feel good about
this as long as he still owns the team. It
ain't gonna be. It ain't gonna beat that much longer
because they're gonna get him up out of there and
then and then they can clear clear a house with
Jackdale Rio two. So he's George Rice Stir. I'm Dan Buyer.

He's George Rice or the NFL VET. I'm Dan Buyer.
It is a Fox Football Sunday and a Sunday right
now that it's just one game going on. It's in Seattle,
Seahawks up thirteen on the Giants with under a minute
to go. Giants do have the football, but backed up
in their own territory. No more time outs either, so
(01:36:04):
the Seahawks less than a minute away from going to
five and three. Well, the Giants are gonna be dealt
their second loss of the season at six and two.

On Fox, George, We're gonna go to our executive producer
because Ethan Miller he hit us with the Fantasy hits earlier,
but we're not gonna miss him with the Fantasy misses,
Fantasy heads and misses. All right, Ethan, what do you
(01:36:49):
got for who may have missed the mark today in
Fantasy four? Right? All right? I hate disappointed the Vegas
Raider fan, but I got some bad news coming for
you guys. Team starting with everybody, all right, here we
go Jacksonville Jaguars Trevor Lawrence two interceptions, eighteen forty one
(01:37:09):
thirty three yards, seventeen loss to the Broncos. Let's ride.
I can't believe I just said that. I'm sorry. Next,
Pittsburgh Steelers Kenny Pickett one interception a hundred yards didn't
do much No TDS thirty five third team loss of
the Birds. All right, here we go with the running backs.
Vegas Raiders Josh Jacobs ten carries for forty three yards,
did not find the end zone. Obviously. In the twenty
(01:37:31):
four zero loss to the Saints. New York Jets, Michael
Carter was hot, he only had seven carries for thirty
two yards. Did not reach the end zone either. More
Vegas Raiders for you. Wide receivers, uh, Davante Adams one reception,
five targets, three yards. Hunter ren For one reception, two
targets and six yards total, and he actually ran the
(01:37:55):
wrong route, which calls an interception. So that's it for
your mrs. Before it happens. Ethan just piling on the Raiders,
you know, with all of their their misses that happened. Uh,
it happens, but an absolutely putrid performance for the Raiders.
Do you think the Packers will put together a performance
tonight or will it be similar to what the Raiders did?
(01:38:17):
As they faced Buffalo. You know, Aaron Rodgers says, maybe
this is the best thing for us, for us to
have all these troubles and now going to Buffalo with
as a double digit underdog tonight. Do you think there's
any opportunity for the Packers to seize this moment? Okay, Um,
I'm gonna give you an example. Uh, did you watch
a lot of cartoons growing up? I wasn't a big
(01:38:40):
big cartoon fan. Um, I watched a little. I would say,
do you know who foghorn? Leghorn? Is that the giant rooster? Okay?
That would be on like Tom and Jerry and stuff. Yeah,
and every now and then with like him and Jerry
and all of that stuff, they would they would break
out the paddle and and somebody would get whooped. That's
(01:39:05):
what's gonna happen to the Great Green Bay Packers tonight.
Really are they are going to get absolutely dumped. They
are eleven point dogs. They're nothing about their offense has
been I mean, they are, they're they're better than the
they're they're better than the Denver Broncos, but not better
(01:39:28):
than like I mean they're like, but not better than
the Giants. Even so, you think that you're gonna stop
Josh Allen him at home, Nope, nope. And and Josh
Allen in prime time He's even better when more people
are watching, so that Nope. Sorry. You know that's another
part of this Sunday night football going to Buffalo. I
(01:39:50):
think it was pointed out. It's, you know, the first
time in a long time they had a COVID you know,
during the COVID season they had a Sunday night game there,
but there were no fans there. Like, does that really
play into it? I mean, yes, dude, dude, does it?
Does it? Does it play into it? When? When? When?
When Kirk Cousins has to ask to play when the
(01:40:11):
sun goes down? I think, but but does? But I mean,
yes it does. But that's a Kirk Cousins problem, Like
I don't I think that Aaron Rodgers has been in
hostile environments before that has been able to manage. Aaron
Rodgers is not playing good football right right now. He's
not playing good football, he's not being a good leader,
(01:40:32):
he's not doing any of those things well right now.
So so so while we're sitting here acting like like
people are still too caught up right now, on Aaron
Rodgers and the name like Tom Brady and and the
name we are we are ushering in a new era
of quarterbacks, and we're ushering in a new era of football.
(01:40:53):
And and Aaron Rodgers, who who is still holding onto
the ball a little bit too often? He's not being
a good leader. He's talking about his teammates like, hey, guys, uh,
you know my quarter And I know we've lost a
few games in a r row, but listen to a
coach said that last week was my highest grade game.
(01:41:13):
But I don't nobody care about that you lost, And hey,
everybody's got to step up and be better. And if
you're not, uh, if you're not great and out well
or something, then then we're snatching reps from you, bro,
you management, or you the team. You're supposed to be
the leader. Like it's bad. I didn't mind most of
(01:41:36):
the comments that he made to Pat McAfee in about
the mental mistakes stuff for a couple of reasons. But
and Adam Caplan pointed out that he thinks that he's
trying to send a message to Romeo Dobbs in saying
the things that he said. But I didn't mind it
because Number one again. I like it when athletes actually
do speak their mind and say something. It allows us
(01:42:00):
in this profession to talk about it, and it does
it also does give an inside look at what is
going on, and I always I find that appealing. The
part was the grading part, and I know that he
said it like his own grade, and I know he
said it kind of ingest George when he's like, I
(01:42:20):
know what may be difficult for some fans to believe,
but I had my highest rated game against the Commanders.
That that hit me wrong. And the reason that it
just hit me wrong is because I had never heard
him say on Pat McAfee, this is my lowest rated game.
You know, you know in that portion of it, and
(01:42:41):
when you're you're trying to to get that motivation from others,
it really just can't if you wanted to say it
next week. And I know that he couldn't because he
may not have his highest rated game tonight against the Bills.
But just the timing of it, that's the one that
just hit me wrong, because it's like, it's like when
you tell a joke, or maybe maybe it's say your wife,
and as soon as the last syllables off your tongue.
(01:43:03):
You try to grab it as it's in the air,
knowing like I shouldn't have said that. That completely wrong,
grab it like no, no, give me head back, give
me that back. That's what it felt like. That's what
I'm sure that Rogers said it and thought like, hey,
this will come off as a joke, and then when
he said it, I would I would expect that maybe
he had remorse in saying it, because it just it
(01:43:24):
didn't hit right to me. I don't think he had
any remorse is saying it at all. No, No, no
he didn't. He didn't have no remorse. He was sitting
there like, hey, yo, I'm I'm Mary, I'm Aaron Rodgers.
Say hell, I want to say, I'll do what I
want to do, say what I want to say. I
just I again, I don't want to begrudge him for
(01:43:46):
for doing what you're you know, saying how he felt.
But it was just a part about his own grading.
When he could he could even have just given the
line George of like hey I need to be better,
you know, like I like there's stuff that you know,
he could have said it like I actually have my
best graded game, but there are a lot of mistakes
that I made, you know, or something like that, and
(01:44:08):
then that ends up being like, Okay, well we understand
what you're saying, or we get a you know, get
a bit of a sense. But that didn't happen, and
that's what hit me wrong. But I actually disagree with
you and how it plays out tonight. I think green
Bay is going to be able to hang with Buffalo?
What does what does hang mean? What? What would the fire?
Green Bay covers? Green Bay covers covers. Yes, we need
(01:44:30):
a best, we need a bet. I want to bet
what whatever? I bet a pizza? Okay, yeah, yes, no,
I I want to bottle. Not by the way, I
haven't gotten my steak dinner from like two years ago
(01:44:51):
when we made our Kansas City Chiefs met. Yes you,
yes you did. I said you a gift card? Did
you do? You? Do you not remember that? I don't remember.
I don't where where was the because Gascon got one
as well? Right, Yes, you you got a you got
a gift card. I emailed it to you. Oh boy,
(01:45:14):
oh boy, you better check your inbox. But I better
check my Yes, yes you and so so. If Dan
Buyer's mother is listening, he wouldn't give up the goods
on the on the on the uh, on the Halloween outfit.
But he's he's also neglecting the family a nice steak dinner.
(01:45:38):
What do I search on my email? Steak Rice stir
It was either to Morton's or Ruth Chris that I
seen the gift card. All right, I'll have to I'll
have to take a look. I'll have to take a look.
But I do think Green Bay covers tonight. Uh, I
know somebody who's lost the pizza. But before she's at
the news desk, because we are alive from the entirect
(01:45:58):
dot Com studios, Monty Blans joins us here on Fox
Sports Radio and uh, she lost a pizza bet to
Aaron Torres and George. I was fortunate enough to be
in studio the day that Monty paid it off, so
I was able to reap some of the rewards. Which
which pizza plays? Did you choose? Because judgment here I
(01:46:21):
I we did. I asked him. I asked Aaron towards
what he wanted and he was like, oh, I don't.
I don't even think he cared. And I was like, pizza.
He's like, yeah, pizza, I think it's what I brought.
Is that what I brought? Pizza? Pizza, pizza? Huh? I
think it is what I brought that day. I brought
a variety. I brought the Detroit Style and then I
brought the other stuff I brought like a different, different stuff.
Did you know that? It actually spurned the conversation multiple
(01:46:44):
times on Fox Sports Radio on how when you treat
for pizza like they're they're always and this is before
you even brought it in, Like if you're if you
have to pay off a better you're treating like there
either has to be one of the pizzas has to
be cheese or cheese and pepperoni, right like, because you
can't just do like I think you brought in the
(01:47:05):
meat lover's. Oh that's what Aaron wanted. That was that
was his requirement. You can't do the other one then veggie,
and then the people are like what you know, so
like we have the Detroit Style one, which you know
was the was like the you know the cheese, Yeah yeah,
are you down with that? Are you down with like this?
If you're treating for pizza, like one of them at
(01:47:25):
least has to be a basic cheese or oh, for sure.
For sure, I may not get the cheese, but one
of them will for sure be pepperoni, because pepperonis are
easy to take off. Yeah. Yeah, and I would probably
go because if I'm treating for everybody, I'm going to
get excess pizza because you don't know what people like,
(01:47:48):
so I would. But but I'm not gonna get too
too fancy because you don't want somebody to be like, oh, yuck,
because if you bring a pizza with some olives or
some mushrooms on it, I'm passing broke. Yeah, I'm with you.
I I love a veggie pizza, but actually don't want
all is. Mushrooms are fine, but I don't eat meat,
and I have no problem taking off pepperoni. I agree
(01:48:10):
with you, pepper you don't eat no meat. I don't
anything with a face. Okay, okay, okay, okay, I make
I make lamb. No, heck no not that that's from
my big fat Greek wedding when when she brought her
dude and and she was like, what do you what
do you mean? You don't eat no meat? Okay? Okay,
(01:48:30):
I make lamb. No, yes, absolutely not. I've actually tried
lamb and I think psychologically, I was like, I can't.
Is it lame that? There we go? That's his dad
joke of the day of the day. Well, you guys
were talking about the Packers and the Bills. Will some
(01:48:50):
good news, I guess for Packers fans because linebacker Rashawn Gary,
left tackle David Baktiari, and wide receiver Christian Watson are
all good to go for the Ackers tonight. So there
is that. The three I think are pretty important. I'm
not sure about Watson, you know. I mean, he's still
got to show his stuff. But yeah, but who else
is he throwing too? He's got nobody. Yeah, Blizard is out.
(01:49:13):
He's gotta play. He's gotta play. So we'll see how
that game goes. But I need I just need um
Stefon digs of a great game because he's on my
fantasy even though I'm not gonna win. I just need
him to go off for a hundred. Is that possible
in a loss? No? Yeah, I'm losing in my fantasy
by a lot. You think you could score a hundred,
I'd rather have good with you for another week. That okay,
that's cool, that's fine, You're right, because I really don't
(01:49:35):
think I'm gonna win, So it's fine, You're right, You're right.
Let's do a recap of all the games today. We
had the Seahawks, who seemed to not have no issues
with the Giants. They took them down twenty seven to thirteen.
Gino Smith completed twenty three or thirty four passes for
two d and twelve yards and two touchdowns. But it
was really, you know, Christian McCaffrey that did a little
bit of everything. He you mentioned this. He became the
first player since two thousand five is to throw a touchdown,
(01:49:58):
rush for a touchdown and catch it touchdown in the
same game as the forty Niners held the Rams to
zero points in the second half and beat them thirty
one to fourteen. Jimmy Garoppolo added two hundred thirty five
yards in the air and two touchdowns. He actually completed
twenty one of twenty five passes. That's not too shabby.
We had the Titans outscored the Texans seventeen to ten.
Derrick Henry had thirty two carries, two hundred nineteen yards
(01:50:20):
and three touchdowns. This was its fourth straight game against
the Texans with more than two hundred rushing yards and
two touchdowns. And then we had the Broncos, who you know,
came overcame an early ten point opposite in London to
beat the Jaguars twenty one to seventeen. The Panthers and
the Falcons, that was an exciting game that went into
overtime and in the end it was the Falcons who
came out victorious thirty seven to thirty four. The Cowboys
(01:50:42):
scored forty nine points against the Bears, beating them forty
nine to twenty nine. Tony Pollard had fourteen carries for
a hundred and thirty one yards and three touchdowns. And
then the Dolphins, they came out slow, but they managed
to come out on top in the end thirty one
seven over the Lions to a Toko Byloa had three
hundred eighty two yards in the air and three touchdowns.
Jalen Waddle eight receptions for a hundred and six yards
(01:51:02):
and two touchdowns. And then we also had the Vikings
who held on to defeat the Cardinals thirty four to
twenties six. The Saints shut out the Raiders twenty four zero.
Alvin Camara coming into this game had zero touchdowns. He
had three in this game, and then Patriots were down
at halftime but outscored the Jets twenty two to seventeen
in the end. And the Eagles remain undefeated in the
(01:51:23):
NFL as they handled the Steelers thirty five to thirteen.
Jalen Hurts through for two five yards and four touchdowns
and A. J. Brown had six receptions for a hundred
and fifty six yards and three touchdowns. And we got
one game to go, which is the Bills and the Packers.

that the younger that you are, the less that you
(01:53:32):
even realize that the Houston Orlan is where the the
that were were, what the Tenness and Titans are are now.
So I think that that's just some somebody who's just like, look,
who wants to show I've been here from from the beginning.
I'm not one of these new Johnny come Lately fans
like I've been here from from the beginning. I think
(01:53:53):
that that's what they're that. That's what that does, is
that that sends a message and saying, listen, I've been
here from the I've been here. I'm to jump homie
I was. I. I think you're right. I think that's
that's the case. I also think it's like, hey, Titans,
just give us back our Oilers stats so we can
wear Oilers uniforms again. I think that's the the other message.
(01:54:14):
I'm speaking of uniforms in a tire at football games. George,
I want to get your thoughts on Halloween costumes at
football games, but we're gonna do it after our m vps.

I know the Bears where they're orange today against the
(01:58:05):
Cowboys and what is an awful look? But it is
Hollywood weekend. So I commend the NFL George for having
Brown's Bengals on Halloween night, Like you can't get more
orange than Brown's Bengals. But that makes the question, you
are dressing up for family Halloween. Would you dress up
for Halloween and go to an NFL game? Dude, I
(01:58:26):
barely dress up for Halloween with the families. Damn, you're
not doing it to go to an NFL game. It's
already like cumbersome enough to be in the stadium and
all of that stuff. And if it's the weather, I'm no,
I'm not doing it. Yeah, I might forget about that.
I am not either. And the the the hands of
(01:58:48):
the fans in the crowd from all the TV shots,
it takes a special kind of someone to say, not
only am I going to the NFL game, but I
am going to do it in costume. It's it's a
it's another breed that I am just I am not
not familiar with at all. Just the whole, whole different
(01:59:08):
world world. I find it weird when people drive to
work in their costumes. Like I drove the work one
time and I see like a lady with her you know,
face painted like a dog. You know, Like I'm like,
you're going to work, you know, like what are you
doing where you're post painted? At slick? Just go to
the you know, the restroom. You know, when you get
to work, show up fifteen minutes early, do the face
to dude, it takes longer than that. And it's and
(01:59:30):
it's googley year to be doing it in the uh
in the bathroom at work. It was weird looking at
my rear view mirror at you know, someone with a
puppy dog face. That's all I'm saying. All right, he's
George rice Ster, I'm Dan Fier. We will talk to
you in Week nine of the NFL season. Enjoy Packers
and Bills, Tonight and Bengals and Browns tomorrow and have
(01:59:50):
a happy, safe Halloween. Talk to you next week.
