Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
All right, we got an NFC showdown in Dallas. Eagles
and Cowboys, Titans and Chargers and a tight one. And then,
ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the carry Roads Bowl, The
carry Roads Bowl, The Carry Roads Bowl. Jets and Cardinals,
the two teams Carrie played for during his career. One
of the three games we've got in our late windows.
We are broadcasting live from the tirerec dot Com studios.
Teyrec dot com will help you get there an unmatched election,

(00:26):
fast free shipping, free road has a protection at over
ten thousand recommended installers. Tell yourrec dot com the way
tire buying should be. What are the emotions that you
feel as you see your two former teams going head
to head in the desert today.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
What The first thing I've learned since I started this
job is uh for me is neutrality. That's the word
for me. So I think with these two teams, obviously
there's a a love a love affair with the two
of them, but one was it's it's it was almost
like a high schools like a high school sweetheart situation

(00:59):
where you know you never really forget that one and
that would be the Jets for me because they drafted me, right,
and so you know, there's a little bit, a little
bit of affinity that I may say would be biased
in that opinion, but overall, I'm just ready to watch
a good game, hopefully right now it's fourteen three Arizona.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
I've gotten that sense from you and talking with you
throughout the years that maybe you're more green than red
with considering Arizona's up fourteen to three right now. As
you heard Monty say, yeah, I wouldn't help you or
blame you for that meter to go a little red
today because of the success of the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Oh yeah, whoever wins, I win, right, So at the
end of the day, I was rooting for them from
the whole.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
From the bad. If you've ever seen our videos, our
Fast Time with Carrie Roads videos or anything that goes on,
you will see that we have Carrie's jerseys displayed in
one week it maybe Cardinals one week at maybe Jets
this week. Double jerseys. That's what we've got with Carry Roads.
So the Jets and Cardinals one of the three games
that we're watching. By the way, the Cowboys just turned
over Philadelphia Trayvon Diggs with an interception the end zone.

(02:01):
So Dallas remains a four point trailing at Philadelphia by
four points, but taking away an eagle score by the
Pro Bowl cornerback. I don't know if it was a
Pro Bowl caliber game, but it was a win for
the Minnesota Vikings today. Let's focus on that right now.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
It's time for the NFL out Fox Focus.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Adam, I mean, was on the college the Vikings took
out the Jacksonville Jaguars twelve seven. Adam, welcome in on
this Sunday.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
How are you doing all right? Boys?

Speaker 2 (02:32):
How are you doing doing okay? Is this just a
win that Minnesota will just take and put away and
move on. I know it wasn't the prettiest of victories
and in having to settle for the field goals that
they did, but how does Minnesota take away this win
today in Jacksonville?

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Yeah? I think overall, when you look at the scope
of the red zone season, how they've been in the
red zone, they've been very efficient, something like sixty four
to sixty five percent touchdown rate league averages around fifty five,
So they put them in like the top seven right
in the league. They've typically been pretty good in these bots.
The concerns that I have are with Sam Donald. How
is Sam Donald seeing the field? How is he seeing coverage?

(03:06):
How is he seeing how certain teams? And especially now
as you get into more divisional games, how are these
repeat opponents going to try to disrupt your vision and
what you're seeing when you're releasing some of these balls, Like,
you know, a couple of the picks to you know,
all three pixie through and listen, there was a fourth
one too that could have been called, could have been
could have stood, had enough infer penalty. But the three

(03:28):
pixie through were targets to Justin Jefferson. What are he
and Justin Jefferson seeing in coverage? And how do they
get on the same page. Because a couple of the picks,
one of them is a really good defensive play in
good coverage. I think a couple of those picks were
just bad throws and bad reads by Sam. So I
imagine that's what Kevin O'Connell's going to focus on going
into this week, especially as they get another AFC South opponent.

(03:49):
They're going to, you know, team that they're only going to.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
See one time.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
That's probably going to try to be a little bit
more exotic and do some extra things with them. I'll
be curious to see what he and Justin Jefferson work
on this week as they try to clean some things up,
because this is a couple of weeks in a row now,
but we're seeing some of these types of interceptions, force falls,
or missed reads that are leading the turnovers ATNAT.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
I think you hit it on the head. I think
it's a combination of both. I mean, you know, you
got Justin Jefferson. You want to get him the ball,
but in the red zone it's the easiest for the
defense to get a bracket on them and take that away.
So outside of that though, I mean, yes, I mean
the love affair with Sam Donald early in the year
was obviously.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Not even palpable cold. We could feel it.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
It was.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
It was more than that. Right But right now we've
heard in recent weeks, we've heard Matthew Stafford's name brought up,
and I don't know how true that was or whatever,
or was it just a pipe drain. But are they
content with Sam right now or is there a way
that he can play himself out of that job.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
I'm not sure if there's a way to play himself
out of that job. I really don't think so. I
think they have who they have. They brought in Sam
Darnald for a reason. Now I've said this for four
months since Sam stepped in and was going to be
named the Stargrafts of the party, maybe not the three
months or so since the pre season was ended, I've
said that the reason Sam Darnold is in the position
that he's in, a lot of it is organizationally. Listen

(05:09):
to the Jets. You know they've had organizational issues for
a while. They've had quarterback issues for a while. That's
nothing new, and that is an organizational problem. That's a
coaching problem. You know, Adam Gase Adam looking in every
possible direction when he first started his career. So part
of this is is circumstance, right where to gend up?
Who is your coach? Who is the organization? Part of it, though,

(05:31):
is Sam was having some troubles with certain things that
starting quarterbacks have to be able to contend with. Having
a backup job is different than being a starting quarterback
for the reason of exposure. Right, you're a starting quarterback
in this league and you get through a season through
seventeen games, seventeen different coverage plans, seventeen different combinations of
ten extra looks that you're going to have to respect

(05:53):
or respond to or react to over the course of
a week and then try to execute it on a
Sunday or a Monday or Thursday. Like, these are a
lot of things that you can possibly be exposed to
that are going to force you to make a mistake.
And for backup quarterbacks, and as of now, Sam is
a backup quarterback who's been thrust into a starting job,
the length of time that they can avoid exposure varies

(06:15):
based on quality of the quarterback and quality of the
system and quality of the coach. I think Sam's talent
and the quality of Kevin O'Connell's system and his play
calling is good enough to get you through like around ten, eleven,
twelve games. But you're getting into the point of the
season now where because we've had different looks at Sam,
there are things that defenses and smart defensive coordinators around

(06:38):
the league now see and go, oh, he's really good
at going to his right, or he's really good at
looking left and then seeing this backside receiver on the
second progression, or the third progression. He's really good at that.
So I'm going to design something a week in advance
to contend with that. And the more chances you have
to be out there, the more chances defensive coordinators have

(07:00):
look at more film, look at more tenancies and to
expose them. And that's why it's so amazing when guys
like Matthew Stafford and Patrick Mahomes Josh Allen turnout success
you're in and year out, because it's really hard to do.
And this is where the Vikings are currently in terms
of their quarterback spot. This is you're getting to the
point of exposure and how are you going to contend
with that?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Adam I mean joining us here on Fox Sports Radio
called the Vikings win over the Jaguars today on Fox
twelve to seven Jaguars Shot of Things. I'm trying to
find a respectful way to say this, but is today's
performance by Matt Jones maybe something that the Jaguars can say, Okay,
this is what we have in Trevor Lawrence or where
is Jacksonville right now with Lawrence in that ailing shoulder?

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Yeah, I'm sure there are some people who are looking
at this and saying, aren't you glad we paid Trevor
Lawrence two hundred and seventy five million dollars because even
though he's had his struggles, we could still generate points.
I mean, he had a pretty quick strike you run
last week in the second alfagant Philly when they were
down twenty ten or up into at the very least
get him back into the game. I'm sure there are
plenty of people who are making that case right now,

(08:02):
and I can understand why. Again, the same conversation that
we just had applies to where we're at right now
with the Jaguars. Same conversation for the Vikings applies here
because it's a matter of exposure. Trevor Lawrence is getting
to a point of some exposure, plus the physical ailment
that he's starting to deal with the shoulder. You know,
both shoulders have bothered him for a good portion of
time now, probably going back two or three years. So

(08:25):
you know you have to be asking yourself, well, what
can we muscle out of this guy? What does he
have arm talent wise? Where is he help wise? But
he is our option. We're paying him fifty five million
dollars a year from the largest contract average value wise
in the NFL. So you're working with this guy, you're
not going to be able to really bench him, at
least not in the immediate future, you know, if you're
looking at you know, next season or two seasons from now,

(08:46):
when he's still under contract and you want to start
thinking about trade value and prospects and what can we
get back for him. If we do find a quarterback
in a draft coming up, and based off of where
the season is going, they're going to have a relatively
high draft pick. So I think those questions are always
being asked by organizations, are being asked by media in
the market, They're being asked by head coaches, and probably
by the players themselves in their agents. So I think

(09:09):
a lot of options for a team like Jacksonville sitting
at two an eight are on the table right now.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I mean to kind of pigyback on Dan's question, Adam,
it's I mean, obviously I'm looking at the stats right now.
It was a twelve seven game, but the Vikings dominate
the game. If it wasn't for the turnovers, it will
be a different story. So I'm looking at that. So
I don't I know Kevin O'Connell as a player. He
was a teammate of mind for briefly, so I know
he's an optimistic guy. His outtake of looking at this game,

(09:34):
do you think he would take it would be optimism
or would it be concerned.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
I think it is optimism, and I think the concerns
we talked about are valid, and he certainly is the
type of coach that will address them and and will
address them hard. And he's you know, he's a real thinker.
Like just being around Kevin the last few years since
he's taken over this position, you know, he really thinks
deeply about these things, and he talks through a lot
of these things to try to figure out what angles

(09:58):
and what permutations were. I don't doubt that this is
going to be something he looks at with you know,
some some actual reservation and say, hey, we have a
lot of things to improve on. But I think the
butt is a good thing here. I do think there's
a lot of positive to take away. Listen, Aaron Jones
before he got hurt, you know that chess issue that
kind of kept them out for a little bit. Then
he came back into Chuck closed the game like he

(10:20):
looked really good the one game on first and second
down really started to pick things up. Kevin had no
problem calling rue plays on second and long because he
had confidence in the combination of Aaron Jones and game
akers on second down and to be able to put
him into third and manageable. And guess what TJ. Howkinson
was on third down today. The fact that he's back
gives you a lot of different things to be happy about.

(10:41):
That's another thing that stems the tide for exposure, right like,
oh man, well, now teams are going to key in
on Aaron Jones, or now they're going to bracket justin
Jefferson more, they're going to throw three different coverages, covered
plans at them, but we're going to bring extra bodies,
whatever it may be. Hockinson had the whole new element.
So I think the positives that you can take away from,
like you said here, it's in performance other than the

(11:02):
most crucial plays, which are the takeaways. But the artist
for play was good. The rush on first and second
down was good, the third down conversions were good. DJ
Hopkinson had a very strong game. Other guys did make
plays at various times when Jefferson was being taken out
of the formation or taken out of the pattern, whatever
it may have been. I think there is a lot

(11:22):
to take away that Kevin can be happy about, but
I do know he's going to be pretty self critical
when it comes to how they can improve on the
red zone and how they can get you know, his
two most important players arguably on offense and Jefferson and
Darnold on the same page more often.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
And no reason to apologize for getting a road win
in the NFL and your seventh win of the season
through ten weeks, Adam. We appreciate the time, save travels.
We'll talk to you soon. Thanks so much.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Thanks, boys, appreciate.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
You, Adam. I mean calling the Vikings went over the
Jaguars today, Minnesota seven and two, Carrie firmly entrenched in
the NFC wildcard race yep. In fact, right now, there
are two games up on San Francisco, a team that
they beat earlier this season, so you could have a
tie breaker on them if it ever came down to it.
And they're right there behind the Detroit Lions, who have
a big game tonight against the Houston Texans. So for

(12:08):
as as much as the Vikings have struggled, and I'm
using the air quotes, but there is a struggle to it.
There's still seven and two. Yeah, there's seven and two
right now. That's that's who they are. I mean, they
are a team that has, you know, winners on that sideline.
They got a coach stats I think, one of the
best coaches in the NFL, not just Exus and Knowles
gets I think a lot of people get enamored with that.

(12:29):
But he's a guy that knows his players too, and
the players really love him. So they're in a good
They're in a good spot. I don't I don't feel
that they're they're a dangerous team. I don't think they're
a team that can make a deep run. But I mean,
right now, with what they've been dealt, the cars they've
been dealt this year, having to bring over and I
guess in theory a journeyman quarterback and get the early

(12:52):
play and success out of him early on to get
this team on the right foot. They're in a great spot,
but now they gotta finish. He's carry roads. I'm dan Byer.
The three games of the window have had some action.
Justin Herbert a four yard touchdown run on a fourth
and one for the Chargers. He gets into the end
zone extra point is good, so the Bolts up on
the Titans thirteen to seven, just on the other side
of the two minute warning Tennessee with the football again

(13:13):
under two minutes to go until halftime, and that one
is Will Levis returns after missing two weeks because of
his shoulder injury. The Eagles still hold a seven to
three edge on the Cowboys, playing with nine to twenty
one left to go until halftime in Dallas, and the
Jets have just kicked a field goal, but it's the
Cardinals getting into the end zone twice. They lead New
York fourteen to six in the Carry Rhodes Bowl with
eleven thirty seven to go until halftime. You can find

(13:35):
Carry on ex Carry twenty five roads. You can find
me at Dan Byer on Fox. A lot to get
to at these late games plus early games. I think
a couple of coaches had their fates sealed with outcomes today.
I know it's early, but these were crucial games that
their teams did not show up. Plus what's up with
the San Francisco forty nine ers? A win today? But
what did it really tell us? With Christian McCaffrey coming back?

(13:57):
All that and more Next year on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio.

Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live. Murray under center takes his play action a
boot to the left and Murray gonna keep it. He
walks into the end zone for a touchdown once again.

(14:22):
Here's Dan Beyer and Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
That was Arizona Sports ninety eight point seven FM on
the callis Kyler Murray scored the Cardinals second touchdown of
the game. They are leading the Carry Rhodes Ball as
we speak fourteen to six with nine minutes to go
until halftime, and the Cardinals are in Jet's territory carry.
They are looking to put some more points on the
board here in the second quarter. The Kyler Murray James

(14:46):
Conner Show continues again. I will I appreciate you bringing
up how I believed in the Cardinals at the start
of the year. Yes, I have believed in them, and
I even talked about it this week on Fox Sports Radio.
I think everything funnels down to James Connor when it
comes to Arizona because he is, first of all, His

(15:09):
story is great in battling cancer and coming back having
the career that he's had, not only in Pittsburgh, but
then not wanted in Pittsburgh anymore and goes to Arizona
and I feel that he embodies everything that they are.
Most teams embody what their quarterback is or who their
quarterback is, and it's not meant to be a knock
on Kyler Murray, but this Cardinals team has this edge,

(15:30):
this chip on their shoulder that I feel that they
play with and maybe even Kyler does as well for
maybe some of the criticisms that he gets. But to me,
it all boils down to James Connor and when you
watch him run and you watch what he does both
running the football and catching the football when he has
the football in his hands, embodies everything about the Arizona Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
I think it starts with their head coach, Jonathan Gannon.
I've known him since he was a kid. He is
that guy. He walks around with the chip on his shoulder,
but he knows, he knows who he is, and it
seems like Arizona knows who they are right now. They're
a team that's gonna run the ball, They're gonna be tough,
They're gonna fly around on defense, and I think for

(16:12):
those to be the traits of your team, it has
to start. You gotta have one of those guys on
each side of the ball, and they do. They have
one and the guy you just stayed in Connor. But
on defense they have the same guy. They have a
guy just like that in Buddha Baker. So they're talented.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Yeah, absolutely so the Cardinals trying to score the Titans
thought thought that they were gonna get the football into
the end zone on a defensive play. However, replay reviewed
a fumble by Justin Herbert, play was reversed. It ended
up being an incomplete pass on the play, so the
Chargers ended up punting it back to the Titans. But

(16:48):
it's thirteen to seven, bolts up on Tennessee, four seconds
to go until halftime, Tennessee likely throwing one up. They
have it at the forty seven yard They're on forty
seven yard line, so a hail Mary situation where the
t Chargers have everybody lined up at the goal line.
As for the Cowboys in Cooper Rush, who Carrie mentioned
seven to three Philadelphia, but Dallas is knocking on the
door facing a third and two from the Philadelphia eleven

(17:11):
yard line, and now it looks like they're going to
get a first down as Cooper Rush. Is he hit
ceedee Lamb? Yes, he does for the first down. Of course,
if it's underneath on a crossing or out, it's more
likely than not going to be ceedee Lamb. And if
it's third down that is the case. But the Cowboys
now set up first and goal with the six in
the Cooper Rush era version twenty twenty four.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah, no, I was trying to see if he's going
to conjure up some magic here, but right now they're
down seven three. But I meant out of this window
these three games. It's crazy because we talked about it
in the beginning of the year. I said the Chargers
were going to play the fastest games in NFL history,
and all these games started around the same time.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
They're there. They're at halftime early and seven. They did
start out at four or five Eastern, so that's that's why.
But we've got a Cowboys fumble into the end zone.
Ezekiel Elliott has just fumbled for Dallas on a first
down carry. And this after Ezekiel Elliott's status with the

(18:14):
team was put into question. Didn't end up traveling last
week when they were in Atlanta, and now Zeke on
a hit that was about the five yard line ended
up going into the end zone recovered by Philadelphia. The
Cowboys waste a scoring opportunity. And interesting there because Rico

(18:34):
Dowdell so far as nine carries for fifty two yards
for Dallas, So the running game is going and they
waste a golden opportunity in a game, honestly for Dallas
where points are an absolute premium for them to be
in scoring range. Cooper Rush only has thirty six yards
passing so far. So if you can't score when you
have an opportunity to have a first and goal inside
of the ten yard line, I'm not Einstein here. Absolutely

(18:55):
wasted opportunity by Dallas.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yeah, Dallas is just going downhill and and really fast,
and I know, you know, there was I think a
lot of talk in the offseason about them not doing
enough to help bolster that roster, and we're seeing it
right now. They're devoid of talent and for them to
come out and think they were going to come out
and really be a team that can win this year

(19:19):
without acquiring some type of back to help out Dak
in this in this season and then and it's just
it's negligence. And then the defense, it's just those guys.
The playmakers over there aren't making any place.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
These carry roads. I'm Dan Beyer. The Titans and Chargers
have gone to halftime. Titans didn't even throw one up.
Ta j Spears just ended up taking a run for
about twenty yards and that end of the half. As
for Arizona, they continue to drive against the Jets, and
again the Eagles are going to take over first to
TenneT throw on twenty yard line. Monty Blanios will be
with us and just a little bit to give us
what happened earlier of the day. This happened earlier today

(19:53):
in Tampa, and it was a big one for San Francisco.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Savor Pepperwell, snap to Mitch Wishnowski, number four.

Speaker 6 (20:02):
We'll try to make it here.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
Good snap, Jake has it away, Jake has the distance,
and Jake Moody.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Is good money.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Wow, somehow someway the Niners winning Tampa Bay.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Jake did have a moody performance today, just three of
six on field goal. Something we'll get to a little
bit later on, but the forty nine Ers end up
getting the victory today over Tampa Bay. As you heard
the final call on KMBR on the forty nine Ers
Radio Network, twenty three to twenty in the first game
back for Christian McCaffrey for San Francisco. I felt this
week that this game is the start of the season

(20:41):
for the forty nine Ers, no more excuses. And I
hate to say this, but I actually have more questions
now about the forty nine Ers that I do answers
even after today's victory.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yeah, we talked that thing, not last week, we both
weren't here, but two weeks ago I said that the
NFC West San Francisco is going to start slow when
I said that in the beginning of the year, but
they usually pick it up, you know, around this time,
and you start seeing them click on all cylinders. But
there's just something off with this team. You can tell.
You get to a point where you miss those windows

(21:11):
to win, and egos come into play. People start wanting
certain things and deserving certain things, and you know, it
becomes an issue in the locker room amongst players. And
I'm not saying that's what's happening there. I don't know,
I'm not there, but something seems off and then you
see stuff that happened today on the sidelines, and then
you know, it just kind of for me confirms what

(21:33):
I feel.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
I know that there was some sound of Deebo Samuel
in the locker room after the forty nine Ers game
today that we're gonna hear. But the reason why we're
hearing from Deebo Samuel is not to talk about the
effort of Christian McCaffrey being back, but it's about his
actions towards kicker Jake Boody, who missed three field goals,
and also towards the forty nine Ers long snapper, where

(21:57):
Debo not only had some words but ended up putting
his hands on a teammate. This was Deebo Samuel after
today's twenty three twenty victory.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
No, now, I didn't even get like that, but just
like frustrated and the hit a battle, you know, red
close game, and I kind of got out of.

Speaker 7 (22:10):
Care go a little bit, but I'll talk to the movie
and you know, we'll get past it.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
I think he had a little dog in him, you know,
a little motivation to go out there.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
And make the field goals. And I was talking to
him at get first like I wouldn't say nothing like
crazy to him. I was just, you know, kind of
frustrating all the time.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
But you know he went out, didn't won the game
before us, and you know he wasn't bothered by himself.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
We don't want to move past it.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
I don't think they're past it. I don't think when
you put your hands on your long snapper like they
did in Tabor Pepper Pepper ended up he and Deebo
ended up having words. Right, This is I I hate it.
I can't stand it. If I'm a forty nine Ers fan,
it'd be stuff that I'm sick of. In a win,
this is what ends up overshadowing. I'm sorry Kerry for
us for if there's there are no positions that you

(22:52):
should handle with soft gloves or kid gloves in the
National Football League. But the one thing that I don't
want to do is beginning in my kicker head when
he's having a bad day like that's It's the last
thing I would try to do. Jake Moody isn't going
out on the field trying to miss kicks, and he
pep talked from Deebo. Samuel is sure not going to
change things when you're telling him to get his head
out of his butt. But I think that's what they

(23:14):
that's what the mood ended up being for San Francisco.
And now you have players exchanging words, you have players
putting hands on other players. That's not a great sign
when you're trying to make it back to the super Bowl.
It's almost an unwritten rule. You just leave the kicker alone.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
Really, that's it. Yeah, let him do his thing. I mean, obviously, yes,
it's such a psychological position. And you know those guys
train all day every day to make those kicks. He's
not trying to miss him. So you have the best
in the world that go through, you know, tough, tough
moments of kicking the ball. I mean, just like Deebo,
Samuel drops passes right, the kickers not coming up to
him talking about catch. The ball doesn't stay in your lane.

(23:52):
You go out and do what you got to do.
On offense, you don't have to kick a field goal,
so just worry about what you got, wory about him,
work about what you can control.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
I'll tell you why the Cardinals are in the end zone.
And there's a big play in Dallas where the Cowboys
have just forced the Eagles turnover and now Dallas has
recovered the Jalen Hurts fumble oddly enough at the six
yard line where they gave it away last time on
the Ezekiel Elliott carry. Ezekiel Elliott is in the game.
He is back in the game, and now Dallas is

(24:19):
the ball first and goal just on the other side
of the two minute warning in the first half as
they play against Philadelphia, and they do end up giving
it back to Ezekiel Elliott who gets down to about
the three yard line. So there's a bit of confidence
trying to reinstill it into Ezekiel Elliott despite him being
in the doghouse. But jumping back to is they're going
to go to the two minute warning in Dallas. Jumping
back to what we were talking about with the forty

(24:41):
nine ers, you're part about Deebo Samuel and then Jake
Moody not going up dam if he drops a pass. Now,
guess what, Deebo Samuel can drop a pass because we're
going to point back of him getting into his kicker's
face during a game. You have to be perfect from
now on ego for the rest of the season. If
you don't want people like me and others pointing to
the fact that you had a problem with your kicker

(25:03):
missing some kicks and I get the deal. But the
forty nine ers are investing in Jake Moody. They invested,
invested picks in him last year. He has stuck around
this year. Maybe doesn't have a great day in Tampa,
but guess up, what when you needed him the most,
Jake Moody was there to make the game winner. Maybe
like all is fine and dandy, but it isn't in

(25:24):
San Francisco. Yeah, he's Carrie Roads. I'm Dan Bayer on
the other side of Manzi Milanios. I'm going to tell
you why everything isn't what it is in San Francisco.
And it's not just the Deebo Samuel situation. This is
coming off of a win. But first he told you
Arizona got into the end Zona Dallas is knocking on
the door. Manzi Milanios is here with the latest.

Speaker 7 (25:43):
I wonder how many people are tuning in and they're like,
who is that with Carrie Rhodes talking.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
I know that's not Dan Bayer.

Speaker 7 (25:50):
It is Dan Bayer everybody. He just has his sexy
voice like Phoebe and friends. Oh after you know, she
got sick and she can't what Dan Byer's going through.
So don't worrybody, it is him.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
Yeah, that sack that caused a fumble on Jalen Hurts
was Michael Parson.

Speaker 7 (26:09):
So welcome back Mikah Parson. Yes, exactly.

Speaker 8 (26:13):
They really can help without having Dak Prescott. They are
knocking on the door to score, like you just said
at the two minute warning. But the Eagles are up
seven to three. Chargers beating the Titans thirteen to seven.
Justin Herbert has thrown for ninety four yards, he has
a rushing touchdown, and he's doing a little bit of
everything for the team. Also doing a little bit of
everything literally Kyler Murray for the Cardinals. He's thrown for

(26:34):
one hundred and seventy yards, one touchdown to Marvin Harrison Junior,
and he's also rushed for a touchdown. So the Cardinals
are beating the Jets twenty one to six with five
minutes to go in.

Speaker 7 (26:44):
The first half. But we got to talk.

Speaker 9 (26:45):
About the Chiefs because they're undefeated in the most we
do because that was not on my bingo card that
they were gonna be undefeated because they blocked a field
goal as time expired.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
Against the Broncos.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
Sixteen to fourteen was the finals, or they are nine
to zero for the season.

Speaker 7 (27:02):
The Broncos fall to five and five.

Speaker 8 (27:04):
But I mean bo Nicks didn't have a bat, outing
twenty two of thirty two hundred and fifteen yards and
two touchdowns in the loss. Football today though started in Germany. Hey,
Bryce Young comes back. He's won three in a row.
That's right, go Bryce Young. The Panthers, they walk it
off against the Giants as well, with the field goal
in overtime.

Speaker 7 (27:21):
Twenty to seventeen was the final score.

Speaker 8 (27:23):
In fact, the Giants did win the coin toss, but
Tyrone Tracy fumbled on the very.

Speaker 7 (27:28):
First play in overtime.

Speaker 8 (27:30):
That's what's set up that field goal that Carolina comes
out with the win.

Speaker 7 (27:33):
The Panthers have won back to back games. The Giants
are the first team to reach eight losses. No buen.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
The Bills long flight back from Germany.

Speaker 7 (27:42):
A long flight back. Maybe stay go.

Speaker 8 (27:44):
To the hofber House That's where I went and jumping
yeah before you go, yeah yeah, yeah. The Bills improved
to eight and two. They had a thirty to twenty
win over the Colts. It all started with the Bills
defense literally wasting no time with a pick sith with
a pick six off of Joe Flacco the Steelers. I
hold on to defeat the Commanders twenty eight to twenty seven.

Speaker 10 (28:03):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (28:04):
This is the one where I was like, what's the
what's the difference between Carrie, can you tell me what
the differences between off sides and.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
Neutral infraction zone?

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Yes?

Speaker 7 (28:13):
Please do, because Rich told me it was the same thing.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
It's not the same.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
A neutral zone in fractions and means he was lying
up there the whole time. If he's off side, he
jumps off Sideky, that's a difference.

Speaker 7 (28:24):
That's it. And and Bo came back and corrected it.

Speaker 8 (28:26):
And he didn't say any of that, So everybody.

Speaker 7 (28:28):
Has said different things.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Also, content doesn't contact with the player, Like if you
make contact with the offensive player on the defensive line,
that would be a neutral zone and fracture on off sides,
you could get a free play without.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
Making contacts because it would be undibated. They call it
the word it's undibated to the quarterback, so they'll stop it.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Gotcha?

Speaker 3 (28:46):
So even if it was a free play, if he
was undibated in the neutral zone, they would stop to
play completely.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's a lot.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Of new one like collided with each other when they
were just jumping.

Speaker 8 (28:56):
I hear it like a lot, and it all sounds
the same, you know, but I hear a lot.

Speaker 7 (29:00):
That's great, thank you, as.

Speaker 8 (29:01):
You guys were just talking about the forty nine ers.
They also win it on a walk off forty four
yard field goal to beat the Buccaneers twenty three to twenty.
Jake Moody missed three field goals in the game, but
hit the game winner Christian McCaffrey and his return thirteen
carries thirty nine yards. Also got to mention rookie wide
receiver Ricky Pearcell. You know, seventy one days ago was
shot in the chest and an attempted robbery caught his
first touchdown past today.

Speaker 7 (29:22):
So good for him being a badass.

Speaker 8 (29:23):
Saints held on to defeat the Falcons twenty to seventeen.

Speaker 7 (29:26):
The Vikings, they beat the Jaguars. It was ugly, but
they won twelve to seven. Also ugly.

Speaker 8 (29:31):
The Bears offense Patriots, they outscored the Bears nineteen to three.
They literally just punted the entire game, except when they
went for it on downs at the end. They had
one field goal. That was it, and that's it. Back
to you guys.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Neutrals on infraction could also be if you're friends with
someone and you try to put a move on her
and she's like no, dice, yeah yeah, yeah yeah, stuck
in the friends yeah, a neutral zone in frash.

Speaker 7 (29:55):
Yeah, that's a good one.

Speaker 8 (29:56):
That makes more sense than yes one, I'm off side
being offside hit Manzi up at Monzi belanyas the Ricky
Pierce All touchdown.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
I truly think, aside from the game winning kick from
Jake Moody today, it's the only good thing to happen
for the forty nine ers. There's the return of Christian
McCaffrey today. Thirteen carries thirty nine yards ended up relying
more on the receiving game. Six catches sixty eight yards
for Christian McCaffrey, so he was active there. But I
think that when we look at San Francisco, and if

(30:27):
you are a forty nine Ers fan that's an optimist,
you'll probably disagree with me. But if you're a pessimist,
I think you'll agree with me on a lot of
these points. Again, there's no guarantee that Christian McAffrey is
going to be the same Christian McCaffrey that he was
previous not early. No, Yeah, and even we don't know,
we don't know how he's going to respond later in
the season, that he's going to have fresher legs than

(30:49):
everybody else. But there's also the point that I think
some of these players are dealing with of their extended
seasons in previous years, in having to play more games,
going to the NFC Championship Game, going to the Super Bowl,
having your season go into late January early February, your turnarounds,
your off seasons are shorter. There's a little bit more

(31:09):
investment there, and I feel that there's maybe a little
bit more aware and tear with the forty nine ers.
There's also the fact that you don't have Brandon Ayuk
and Juwan Jennings was a piece today and Pearsall was drafted.
We thought to maybe replace Ayuk if he wasn't going
to return, but I'm sorry, in this moment in time,
there's no way that you can replace Brandon Ayuk from

(31:30):
who from what you had the previous seasons, and then
maybe even for what he had coming up prior to
the injury. But there's just the fact of there is
still the deal of the Super Bowl hangover. It is
a long, long season. The defense isn't what it once was.
There's great names that you remember, Fred Warner, Nick Bosa.

(31:52):
Those are guys that will bring it on every play,
but you don't have the interior of the defense as
you once had. There's some gaps, I believe it linebacker.
You know, you missed a guy like Dre Greenlaw. So
those are the things that I would caution about San
Francisco just turning it around, and I think today, yeah,

(32:12):
Jake Moody missed three field goals, but he made the
one that you needed and you were able to squeak
by against Tampa. And that's not coming off of a bye.
I expected a little bit more crisper forty nine ers.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Yeah, everything about this season has been delayed and slow.
There was a delay to officially say that Christian's going
to be out, So that's delay there. So what happened
with that situation? Why did it get so close to
the season. If we knew or they knew that he
wasn't going to be ready to go. That's a delay.
So it's just like the mood around that it isn't

(32:46):
something that you should have to go through. And you
talk about the Super Bowl hangover. Then you have IUK
and those guys, and you have the tackle try thank you,
all of them trying to get secure deals and not
being able to get those done. They're not in camp.
So just the continuity the team, the chemistry, it's all
a lot and Samas, let's go right now.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
He's Carrier Roads, I'm Dan Byer, and they're looking up
at those Arizona Cardinals right now. I have a twenty
one to six lead on the Jets and the Carry
Roads bowl to eighteen to go until halftime. In that one,
Cowboys did settle for that field goal against Philadelphia. So
the Egos have the football first and ten up seven
to six on Dallas in their own territory, and they're
underway in the second half. Chargers lead the Titans thirteen

(33:26):
to seven in LA and again just a minute gone
by in that contest. As for where Arizona is on
the field right now, they have the football looking to
add a few more points to their tally prior to
the prior to going in the halftime, Cardinals have the
ball near midfield facing a first and ten, he has
carrier roads. I'm Dan Bayer coming up next to look

(33:47):
at your fantasy numbers for week ten, and you may
want to look away. That's next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 11 (33:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, and they're gonna
go empty.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
Herbert to the right, and here we goes Herbert into
the episode.

Speaker 12 (34:04):
Touchdown Shutgers four yards.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Justin. Herbert puts the team on his back.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
And delivers back to Dan Byer and carry.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
Rhodes kysr Alt ninety eight point seven of the Chargers
Radio network got on the call as the Bolts and
Titans are in a tight one in LA. Thirteen to
seven is the score with seven to fifty four to go.
Tennessee trying to put some points on the board as
they'll attempt a twenty seven yard field goal. Nick Folk
has on miss then attempt of forty nine yards earlier today.

(34:39):
I don't want to say these kicks are givings, especially
to what happened with Kansas City, but folks kick is true.
It is thirteen to ten, Chargers on top of the Titans.
Midway through the third quarter. The Eagles have gotten into
the end zone, driving all the way down after that
Dallas field goal, Jalen Hurts hitting Dallas Goddard with a
touchdown pass extra point is good. It's fourteen to six.

(35:00):
He goes on top of Dallas. Twenty three seconds to
go until halftime, and the Cardinals and the Carrier Roads
Bowl just converted a fourth and one. They've got one
time out remaining with thirty six seconds left in the
first half at the Jets forty yard line, up twenty
one to six. So Arizona looking to add some points
here at the end of the first half. As Michael
Wilson gets it down to the thirty yard line and

(35:20):
gets out of bounds, and as Arizona is driving fine,
carry on X at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can
find me at Dan Byer on Fox's we are locked
from the tirec dot Com studios. Let's go to Ryan
Pershing all right now with the look at our fantasy.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Numbers, fantasy hits and missus.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
I know it wasn't a day of riches in fantasy football,
but there had to be some hits that we've got
so far.

Speaker 11 (35:47):
Yes, yes, I'd say scattered riches today. Let's look at
these early games, specifically. Your top scoring quarterback from the
early games on this week ten Sunday is Brock Purdy
twenty five to thirty six for three hundred and fifty
three three yards passing two touchdowns. He also had four
rushes for seventeen yards. It makes him quarterback three on
the week because nobody has gotten even close to touching

(36:08):
Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow quite yet. V Jean Robinson
had a huge game today, twenty rushes for one hundred
and sixteen yards and two touchdowns on the ground, three
catches on four targets for twenty eight yards through the air.
Your top scoring receiver on the day so far is
marcuz Valdez Scantling, who, if your wondering, is currently on
the Saints. He had three catches on three targets for

(36:29):
one hundred nine yards and two touchdowns. But because you
probably did not play MBS, you're a second top scoring
receiver on the day. George Pickens five catches on seven
targets for ninety one yards in the touchdown. Travis Kelce,
your top scoring tight end on the day, eight catches
on twelve targets for sixty four yards and a touchdown.
Looking at some misses as you guys talked about earlier.
Sam Darnold had a rough one today twenty four or

(36:52):
thirty eight for two hundred and forty three yards, but
three interceptions. Definitely a streaming candidate that people were targeting
against the Jaguars, and Sam threw it to the Jaguars
three times. Let's look at some different running back situations
today that have not been great. Javonte Williams had a
rough one one rush for one yard, then two catches

(37:12):
on two targets for six yards. Adric Estima had fourteen
carries in this game. So Javonte Williams owners, this is
time to pan They liked.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
Him in the preseason, Dame, they really did.

Speaker 11 (37:22):
Yes, Yeah, speaking of panicking, how about a Tank Bigsby. Yes,
Travis Etn was playing today, but he didn't have a
great game. I've had about fifty yards. But despite that,
Tank Bigsby only had two rushes for four yards. So
it looks like Tank Bigsby has been once again you served, and.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Also only had the ball for like seventeen minutes during
the game. Exactly, so yeah, crazy yeah.

Speaker 11 (37:44):
And as you guys mentioned, Christian McCaffrey back this week,
so Jordan Mason owners sorry, one rush for five yards
for Jordan Mason, even in the game where they're supposed
to be easing CMC back in. Only one carry for
Jordan Mason in this one. Looking at receiver numbers, as
we mentioned with the Jaguars, Brian Thomas Junior, who has
had a great rookie season thus far, two catches on

(38:05):
three targets for twelve yards. DJ Moore, maybe we'll hear
more about him this week because three catches on six
targets for twenty four yards.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Well, Ryan, he's got to stay on the field.

Speaker 11 (38:16):
That's your to do that, yes, yeah. And then last speaking,
I'm staying on the field. Dalton Kin kid was on
and off the field today, ended up with two catches
on five targets for twenty four yards. And those are
your fantasy hit some misses from the early game.

Speaker 2 (38:30):
I don't know what you guys, but I felt I
had the NFL figured out at around the week seven
you did, and then now at week ten, I feel
like I know less than I did at the start
of the season. That's how the works. Hey, I know
I had Crown Minnesota as legit. In my defense, they
are seven and two, but you can't have Sam Darnold
turning the ball over like he did. Yeah, some crazy scenarios.

(38:54):
Kyle Shannan had kind of hinted that they were gonna
give Christian McCaffrey, you know, his dude. But I just
I don't know if that benefits San Francisco in the
long run. I don't know why you wouldn't use Jordan
Mason in these situations. And I'm not talking as someone
who ended up playing Jordan Mason today, just for the
you know, simple fact of I thought maybe there'd be
more of a split, but I think it would. I

(39:16):
thought it would, to your point, behoove them to ease
Christiancaffrey and some and that did not happen. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
No, they gave Kristin the full workload and it's going
to take him time to get acclimated, to get hit
again and being able to stop and start. I mean,
the injury that he's dealing with, or he dealt with,
is a series win, so he's gonna have to ease
back into it.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
He's carry roads. I'm dan Byer. The Cardinals did kick
a field goal near the end of the first half
of the second remaining are actually as time expired, So
the Carry Roads Bowl right now dominated by the Cardinals
over the Jets twenty four to six. They are at
the half. Eagles the Cowboys at the half by a
score of fourteen to six. And he told you the
Titans kicked a field goal, but the Chargers are quickly

(39:58):
on the move. They're already inside the Titans red zone
down to about the nineteen yard line, looking to add
some more points as the Bolts lead. That came by
a score of thirteen to ten, six minutes to go
until the end of the third quarter. He's Carry Roads.
I'm Dan Byer, the Chief stay unbeaten and what is
wrong with the Bears? That's next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
All right, three games of this late window, two of
which are at halftime, and the Titans now find themselves
down double digits in LA to the Chargers. Welcome in
as we're broadcasting live from the tierraq dot com studios.
Tierrec dot Com will help you get there at unmetch selection,
fast free shipping, free Road has a protection and over
ten thousand recommended installers tirack dot com the way tire
buying should be These Chargers. With that ten point lead

(40:45):
over the Titans, not shocking by any means, but it
would move LA to six and three on the season. Yeh.
The only bad thing with that is you are three
games back of the nine to zero Kansas City Chiefs
who escaped today in crazy faction fashion. Later on in
the show, Carrie's gonna break down exactly how the Chiefs

(41:09):
block the thirty five yard field goal by Will Lutz.
But when you look at where the Chiefs are at
nine and zho, if you're a Kansas City fan, it
feels like you've been walking this tightrope and here's another
nine lives sort of thing. And I just wonder, at
what point, if you're a Kansas City will a loss
do you good? Not that they need to experience a loss.

(41:32):
I just feel that as these as you keep on
winning these games, you sometimes feel that maybe you're just
destined to win them, and at some point it's not
gonna happen. So I'm just wondering, if you're Kansas City,
do you kind of want to lose? One, because I
don't think I think seventeen and oh is impossible. I
don't think there's no way it's gonna happen in the NFL.

(41:52):
But what do you think about Kansas City starting the
year nine and zero and do they need a loss
to kind of I don't know. Put them back to
square one? Well, number one.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
There they are the worst nine and no team I've
ever seen, and I'm not joking. When I watched them play,
nothing about them is excellent except their defense. Their defense
is excellent. I will give the defense its credit. But
when you look at this team, they just they're They're
well coached, obviously any Reid does a great job. And
other than that, it's just like you, there's like an

(42:23):
inevitability that I think that happens with teams that go
in there and go play the Chiefs, like we're gonna
play them tight, we're gonna have our chance. Eventually we're
gonna lose. And it looks like that when the teams
are playing them, because it seems like they're not even
confident that they're gonna they're gonna win the game.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
It is if Kansas City had the football, you knew
that they would figure out what was So this was
the time for them the team to win because they
didn't have for football exactly. And one of they did
go and block the field goal attempt by Den that
was just just a little bit longer than an extra point,
and Kansas City sits there at nine and up. I

(43:00):
don't think that they need a loss to It's a
veteran team that is coming off of a Super Bowl
and they're the two time defending Super Bowl champions. It's
just more of the fact I think that these false securities,
if you will, would kind of creep in that, oh,
we'll find a way and and and I go back

(43:22):
to and Vikings fans got to win today, so hopefully
they won't hate me for saying this. But it's Carrie
Anderson not missing a field goal all season long until
the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons, and then
all of a sudden, you miss it. And I just
feel like with Kansas City, you're like, Okay, our luck
is and it's it's not luck, but it is luck

(43:44):
that at some point it's gonna it's gonna crap out
on us. And I think they'd rather have it at
a time that isn't as monumental or important as a
postseason game.

Speaker 3 (43:55):
And the thing with a loss for them, what it
would really do for that team. The conversation around going
undefeated will become a distraction as the season progresses. So
if they were around, say they get to thirteen and O,
like it's a real possibility at that point, and then
like the narrative changes from preparation or you know, preparing

(44:18):
for the team they're about to face, and the questions
that will be leading that conversation will be you think
you guys can go seventeen and O, and that can
cause the distraction as well.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
I thought that their loss would come in a division game,
and I've even said on the network that I thought
it was this game against Denver or even the one
that they have on Black Friday. We saw what the
Raiders did to them last year. I believe it was
on Christmas Day when they ended up upsetting Kansas City
in Kansas City. It's those type of games against the
division opponent that knows you so well. Yeah, but now

(44:48):
you have a matchup with the Chargers coming up in
early December, maybe that's the time it falls. This was
the perfect trap game for Kansas City. And it's not
to take anything away from Denver because their defense is
absolutely legit. Yeah, and I think bo Nicks has come
along in a way that you would say is successful
so far. So they had a chance to win the

(45:08):
game with the field goal, but Kansas City just put
an overtime game on Monday night they survived against Tampa Bay,
and next week they go to Buffalo. This is the
perfect division opponent. You're at home, it's a short week,
maybe you're not as locked in. And I felt that
this had an opportunity for them to be bit to
have Denver come up and bite them, and they almost did.

(45:31):
They almost did, but the George carl office block of
the Willluts field goal propels Kansas City to nine and zero.
On the Denver side of things, I thought as it happened,
I'm like, oh, devastating loss for the Broncos. And it was,
and it honestly could be the difference between a playoff
berth and a non playoff berth. But I want to
pose something to you, and I hate this with people

(45:53):
when they do this to me. So you could just
you could pass and tell me to shut up. Actually,
you know what I'm not ever gonna play it game
entering today because I already played it with Ryan Berschinger
and before the show, and it's a no win situation.
There were six teams in the AFC that are two
wins coming into the to this week. Wow, six two

(46:14):
win teams. So think about that. If the Chiefs are
unbeaten at nine and zero and you have six teams
that have two wins, that is almost half the conference
that their playoff fates are decided. I'm sorry, a two
win team is not going to rally and make a
push to the playoffs, especially when you look at who
the two and six and the two win teams were

(46:35):
the Patriots prior to winning today, we're a two win team.
They are not in it for twenty twenty four. The
Titans aren't in it for twenty twenty four. They're losing
right now to the Chargers. The Dolphins are, but they're
two and six and have a game that they could
very well lose tomorrow night against the Rams, especially with
Tyreek Hill's status being unknown. The Raiders are two and
seven on by this week, the Browns are two and

(46:56):
seven on buy, and the Jaguars just fell to two
and eight with the loss to the Vikings. What that
also means is that there are very few teams battling
for a playoff berth where you have seven teams making
the postseason and now there's realistically only ten teams battling
for it, and we think the Chiefs are already in
so this wildcard setup, the point is is, I thought,

(47:17):
on the surface, it could be a backbreaker to Denver,
and maybe it's the time. Maybe just wanting to knock
off Kansas City would have done miles of good for
your team. But when you only have the Jets, Bengals,
and Colts to really battle for, and I have no
idea what direction the Colts are going in right now,
I know what direction the Jets are going to. No
matter what people try to say, I just this. It's

(47:39):
I think it's down to Cincinnati and Denver basically for
that final wildcard in the AFC, because I assume that
the Chargers are going to be fine and the Ravens
are going to be fine, and the Steelers continue to roll.
But there isn't that much jocking for position right now
because of how bad so many teams are in the AFC.
That's a great point.

Speaker 3 (47:57):
Yes, this isn't the season noon and ender a deal
breaker for Denver, but it is one of those monumental wins,
a momentous type of situation that could have happened, that
could have occurred here that didn't. And so with a
young quarterback, a team that's trying to find it's footing
and get themselves in the position to be successful, to

(48:19):
have a setback like this could hurt them, but it
could also rally. And I think we're going to find
out really quickly who they are moving forward next week.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Yeah, it's interesting in a tough loss for Denver today,
but in the grand grand scheme of things, there's still
an opportunity for them, and I think that they're in
a better spot. I'd much rather have their defense than
obviously the Colts. The Bengals defense is a mess. I
believe the Jets defenses is good, but I don't think
that it's nearly as good as Denver. And by the way,

(48:48):
Denver as they head to head over the Jets from
their appearance earlier this season. Speaking of the Jets, an
update from the Kerry Rhodes Bowl in Glendale, Arizona's up
twenty four to six, start of the second half. But
the Jets are in Arizona territory as Bruce Hall has
just taking a pass from Aaron Rodgers got about twenty
yards on it. They are inside the red zone, so

(49:09):
the Jets are knocking on the door trying to make
it a ballgame against the Redbirds. The Cowboys and Eagles
are just underway in the second half, Eagles with a
fourteen to six lead on Dallas. Playing without Dak Prescott today,
Dak likely done for the season, going to get one
more opinion on his injured hamstring, but then depending on

(49:32):
that opinion, all of the other opinions were get surgery
and the season. That seems to be the likely scenario
for Dallas. Yeah, where you think maybe they shouldn't have
gone with Cooper Rushes their quarterback today against Philadelphia. Yeah, no, I.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
Was on the Trey Lance boat today. You just brought
him in in a trade. We haven't seen him on
the field at all to know who this guy is.
If you bring him in, give him a chance. We
saw Rush a couple of years ago last year where
I think with two years ago, and he came in
and played well a little bit there.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
But we know that obviously.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
I guess they're still trying to compete to win in
theory right now in Dallas, that's what they're supposed to
do win, and I'm sure that's probably why they went
with him. But I would want to see what Trey
Lance had for sure. I don't think that the time
is ticking on that. I don't think we're going to
see Dak the rest of the season.

Speaker 6 (50:22):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
I think that from the Cowboys way of thinking, and
I know sometimes they're thinking is not what the norm is.
I think their thinking is to what you pointed out,
Cooper Rush was successful in a stint. I think Dallas
would tell you. I think others would have told you
that if you looked at the backup situations in the
NFL around the league, they felt Dallas was maybe stronger
than some others because of the success Cooper Rush had.

(50:46):
I think Dallas still feels that they had a chance
at the playoffs despite their three and five start. I
feel like this is a game they were like, well,
we can't throw Trey Lance to Philadelphia. This is a
game that we'd really really like to win and really
really want to win, and we kind of need to
win and putting Trey Lance in that spot. I think
that we will see Trey Lance at some point, but

(51:07):
it's also at that point I think Dallas this season
will be over. I agree with you. I agree with
that take on and that just then goes to the
point is we feel that Dallas season is over. And
the reason why Cooper Rush worked two years ago is
because Dallas was a better overall team gen yars Ago,
better offensive line, better defense. We felt they were not

(51:28):
as one dimensional. I mean, Cooper Rush was pressured on
a third down pass and one hopped it to his
full back out of the backfield on a third and seven,
So you're feeling that pressure. Maybe the line isn't once there,
you don't have the running game. We talked about the
Zeke Elliott fumble early on, so the all of those
things are are right now hampering the Cowboys. So it's
a different Cowboys team that Cooper Rush is leading. A

(51:49):
third and goal pass from Aaron Rodgers to DeVante Adams
in the end zone falls incomplete, so it's fourth and goal.
Rogers is spying Adams over the middle. I don't know
if he got it hands on it. It looks like
it was broken up by the Cardinals defender, so it
will be fourth down. Actually no, it got to DeVante's hands,
and I think that's why he was so frustrated. But

(52:11):
on fourth and goal, the Jets are going for it.

Speaker 4 (52:13):
Here.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
If you kick the field goal, you're only down two scores.
I don't I don't agree with this call right now.
If they score.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
This is today's NFL. This is this is I mean
Aaron Rodgers is pressured and then ends up fumbling it
and it's recovered by Arizona and Rogers pressured from behind.
He runs, man, he runs like I run. Now. There
was something very demoralizing to me. A long time ago,

(52:42):
before I married my wife. I was dating this this girl,
and she's like, I'll race you to that to the
other end. Two torn hamstrings later, what happened? I know,
I don't wallet and keys in my pocket, you know,
also like those were holding me back. But I'm like, wow,
I don't have the you know, yeah, you failed, And
I was sore the next day from like the you know,

(53:03):
the thirty yard sprint. Dan, tell the real story.

Speaker 3 (53:05):
You fail in your keys and while they fell everywhere
like the sonic rings.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
That's what it really is. Oh man, Aaron Rodgers pull
down from behind. I can't stand teams not kicking field
goals on the sand. It just it's no, no, no,
Let's try the fifty seven yarder because we don't want
to punt, but let's just go for it. No matter what.
You're right, you could have made it a fifteen point game,
by the way, at least gives you something. There is
something demoralizing about not making a fourth down. And even

(53:31):
in this scenario here Rogers gets sacked from behind his
fumbled you don't even you don't even get the opportunity
to pin him within you know, their own five yard line.
But when you're down eighteen, who cares. If they're pinned
inside your five. You're still gonna need three scores. They
don't do it, and the Jets deserve what their fate
is in the carry roads. He has carry roads. I'm

(53:55):
dan Byer. We have carries two jerseys from his Jets
and Cardinals days. We maybe we should take the Jets
one down.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
I was about to say, let's reverse them. Let's put
the cardinal in front right now.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
And let's but the cardinal one is higher in our
in our week ten set, it is Coming up next,
our NFL Incenter, Adam Kaplan will join us talk about
some of the head coaching futures that we can see
in the National Football League, what Dallas does need to
do next, and so much more. Find them on X

I've got the Mary Max Secret potion. Yes, helping the
voice sounds better? Alright, yeah, it sound great. God, Yeah,
there it is, Mary goes. You sounded annoying. And she'd
only been with us for fifteen minutes. It wasn't even fifteen, Dan,
it was it was seven. It was seven minute. And yeah,
he was definitely irritating. She's young, you know, that's she's

(55:03):
got the answers.

Speaker 7 (55:05):
At least I was young, and I helped out, Oh
you did. It's different, just you know, being kidding.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
I'll tell you what, even if this didn't work, I
appreciate you trying to help me out. And that's that's
that's the honest, the honest truth. Here, I'll tell you
need some help. New York Jets they lead there, they
trail in the carry Roads Bowl twenty four to six
to the Cardinals, and Arizona is driving. After the Jets
failed to cash in on that fourth and goal. We
told you Aaron Rodgers got sacked. He's in the medical tent.

(55:31):
Will tell you his status when we know it. Chargers
added a touchdown Hassan Haskins with the one yard touchdown run,
Bolts up twenty seven to ten, seven thirty left to
go in that game over the Titans, while the Eagles
have gotten into the end zone Johnny Wilson catching a
touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia leads twenty one to six.
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's Carry Roads.

(55:54):
I'm Dan Byer. We now have our NFL insider, who
you can hear on the Inside the Birds podcast and
on the Pro Football Network. Adam Kaplan joins us. Hello, Adam,
Happy week ten. How are you guys. I'm good.

Speaker 13 (56:05):
Yeah, it's been a fascinating week. Certainly had the trade deadline,
we saw some late moves happen, and some of those
guys showed up today, particularly for the Steelers, So they
would not have done it without Mike Williams today. They
would have won the game without him, So that was
a huge play. And yeah, you mentioned the Cardinals. I
mean it's just it's almost hard to believe what is
going on with the Jets. Boy, that's the team I

(56:26):
missed on the season.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
Oh, they're bad. A lot of people did, Adam. Yeah, absolutely,
Well let's start with the Pittsburgh Steelers, because what a
rejuvenation project in a week for Mike Williams to catch
that touchdown pass from Russell Wilson, who continues to have
his own sort of rejuvenation in Pittsburgh. Was today the
legit Pittsburgh game that the Steelers are for real? And

(56:48):
how has it turned around with so many I guess
projects in Pittsburgh this year?

Speaker 13 (56:52):
Yeah, Dan, it's a good story. So Mike Williams am
I reporting three weeks ago. I said, this is the
guy they're on. They're trying to get him. Yeah, they
tried everything they could. It was actually the Jets who
I'm told delayed it and they finally said, okay, yeah,
we'll do it, and they got a draft pick. So
you know, Mike Williams only had one target. He didn't
play very much, but he made an unbelievable catch on

(57:13):
a broken play. Russell Wilson with his old magic Russell
made some plays, he missed on some plays.

Speaker 6 (57:19):
They ran the ball.

Speaker 13 (57:19):
They were committed to running the football that they did
what they wanted. They also made the por trade for
Preston Smith I thought was fascinating to add depth and
Ali Alex high Smith got hurt today, one of their
starting edge wretchers, so that that was actually a pretty
smart trade and they have to feel pretty good about it.
And then the Commanders, look, they had the incredible comfort
behind victory of the obviously the Hell Mary couple weeks ago,

(57:42):
and they lose this game. And by the way, they're
on a short week. They'll take the train over to
Philly Wednesday afternoon for the game Thursday night, so it's
a short week. Kerry knows as a player, you got
to forget about it, but that'll be a tough loss
for him.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
Yeah, they won't even have a lot of time to
watch the film from this game, but sure stand with
the Steelers war a second here. Russell Wilson, all right,
his numbers fourteen of twenty eight, one hundred and ninety
five yards, three touchdowns and interception, Right, is this the
reason that you bring you start Russell Wilson for games
like this and situations like this.

Speaker 13 (58:15):
Yeah, And that's Look, he's still a big play quarterback.
He's not clearly the player he wants. Was the thing
that they're really happy with. It's starting to happen between
him and George Pickens, and that it needs to and
Mike Williams will eventually start op some Pickens. They're kind
of working through the rotation there. They this is look
the Mike Williams thing. They were in on two or

(58:35):
three other receivers. But I was told by someone closest situations.
This guy they really focused on over the last couple
of weeks and they got him. And now it's going
to take some time for him and Wilson to get
their chemistry together. That's the thing playing with Russell is
that you never know quite what he's going to do.
You know, he's going to break the pocket, He's not
always going to take what's there and you got to
come back to the football or sometimes go after the football,

(58:56):
like Mike Williams did today.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Adam kap on our Fix Sports Radio nflter joining us,
he mentioned what's going wrong with the Jets? Kyler Murray
Scamper's into the end zone extra point is good. It's
thirty one six Cardinals on top of the Jets in
the third quarter. I want to talk about what happened
earlier today, and it happened in Germany. Panther's gonna win.
That's not my conversation. It's about the Giants. Where does

(59:20):
this team go after losing to another team that we
didn't think had a lot of hope. I know they
lost their left tackle for the season, but it sure
felt like a make or break season for Daniel Jones.
What does it mean for Brian Dayball and Joe Shane
the general manager?

Speaker 6 (59:35):
Well, Dan, I should just say this.

Speaker 13 (59:37):
Their owner, John Mara, went on record with a local publication,
said that he didn't he doesn't plan on making any decisions,
making any moves so that that both got the GM
and the head coach will will be back now He's
done this before and a head coach was fired, so
we got to you know, we gotta be careful here now.
With Daniel Jones is very simple. He's got a big

(01:00:00):
bass guarantee of thirty million that kicks in right now.
It's only twenty three million of its thirty million next
season is guaranteed for injury. So what that means is
if he suffers a debilitating injury where he can't pass
the physical, the Giants would be on the hook for
that money. So because they're now to an eight and
they obviously cannot, the only way they'd make the playoffs is.

Speaker 6 (01:00:20):
That they want out, which is not gonna happen.

Speaker 13 (01:00:22):
The reality is, we're looking at what happened with Derek
Carr a couple of years ago with the Raiders and
also with Russell Wilson ironically with the Broncos that this
is coming.

Speaker 6 (01:00:31):
I mean, it's it's not like. The thing is that it's
not like they have a young.

Speaker 13 (01:00:34):
Quarterback they have to evaluate, like they're ready to who
Tommy du Vito is. He's a third string quarterback, will
never be better than that. You've got Drew Locke, who's
a okay backup. It's just you're trying to protect yourselves
that this is a lost season for the Giants, so
Dan to move this forward, they're going to be They're
looking at a quarterback high up in the draft. We
don't know who's coming out yet, so it's I can't
even talk about any names yet. Sure, and the look,

(01:00:56):
oh obviously look at free agency in the trade market.
This is just a disaster. But it's not just the quarterback.
You mentioned their offensive line. When when you look at
teams like the Eagles, the Ravens and others, there's a reason.

Speaker 6 (01:01:09):
Why they're good every year.

Speaker 13 (01:01:10):
Yeah, they have good quarterback play, it's they're great on
the offensive defensive lines. With Eagles case, particularly the offensive line.
They've never you're going about twenty years, they've never had
a good bad offensive line.

Speaker 6 (01:01:19):
It's always been good or lead.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Yeah, Adam, losing Andrew Thomas, you know for the season.

Speaker 6 (01:01:25):
Yeah, well the interior is bad, not very good, Adam.

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
I want to talk about a game that was earlier
today as well. That's you know, been making the rounds.
There was some video of Deebo Samuels and yeah, getting
it to it on the sideline with the placeholder and
the kicker. Like as players, we know that there's almost
like an unwritten rule to leave the kicker alone, let
him do his thing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
What do you take from that situation.

Speaker 13 (01:01:47):
Kyle Shannon was asked to carry after the game, and
he kind of explained his that he didn't see it
and he heard about it.

Speaker 6 (01:01:55):
It's just frustration. I don't look at that should happen.

Speaker 13 (01:01:59):
I agree with you that I don't see that being
a big deal, that that's a hell of a win
today that I'll say this about the Buccaneers, by the way,
I know they're short handed at receiver. I know they're
not very good on defense, particularly in the back end,
but they're fighting and Baker Mayfield is so I gotta
tell you what blood and guts game for him. It's
not his fault. He played extremely well. He just doesn't
have a lot of help.

Speaker 6 (01:02:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:02:18):
I don't expect that the thing with Pepper the long
snapper and Samiel to be anything.

Speaker 6 (01:02:23):
I expect that to get resolved.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
I'm not trying to fire every coach in the National
Football League in Week ten, but there are conversations. I
don't think the future is bright for Eddie Refluce in Chicago.

Speaker 6 (01:02:34):
Three in a row, now, Yeah, yeah, in those.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Fifteen nine and three. That's how many points that the
Bears offense has scored. I mean, I mean, what does
Chicago too. I would I would have to think that
would be probably the most attractive job in the offseason
if it were to become available in the National Football League.

Speaker 13 (01:02:52):
All right, so here's my reporting I put out. Geez,
I'm gonna say around the draft. So Kevin Warren, the
team president, the former Big Ten commissioner, used to be
with the Vikings as a president, was with the Rams.

Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
He was actually a contracting the coach year and he's
also been an agent.

Speaker 13 (01:03:11):
Warren will want up making the call whether Ibraflu stays.
And I was told by someone who's worked with him
before that he's gonna want to like he's going to
want to eventually bring in his own person.

Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
This guy told me this a year ago.

Speaker 13 (01:03:23):
I Dan, I mean, look, it's going to be hard
for ever Flues to keep his job if they don't
get a wild card spot. I'm kind of with you.
I don't see it again. I'm not trying to get
anyone fired something. The reality of the situation, it's hard
to keep your job when you come up short. And
there were high expectations in that building.

Speaker 4 (01:03:37):
Now.

Speaker 13 (01:03:37):
I know Caleb Williams has gone south here. He's not
playing well at all. But man, that choke. By the way,
there's a lack of discipline on this football team.

Speaker 6 (01:03:45):
Iberflus had a fire two coaches on the staff last year.
That's on him.

Speaker 13 (01:03:48):
We're not going to get into what happened with these guys,
but that's it.

Speaker 6 (01:03:52):
That's really bad. That means you didn't hire the right people.

Speaker 13 (01:03:55):
And you know, he declined to keep some really good
coaches on the former staff they inherited, and he you know,
he fired Luke Etzi and he they brought in Shane
Waldn to did a great job with Chinaut Smith and
it's just not happening.

Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
It's no.

Speaker 13 (01:04:12):
You got to understand he's a rookie. I mean, you're
dealing with the rookie quarterback. Yeah, but that's not the
only issue.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Yeah, and there were other hands in on Gino Smith
as well. As a Seahawks fan, I don't think that
we loved Shane Waldron as an offensive coordinator. Then you
had Jackson Smith and Jigba's comments at the Super Bowl
last year when asked about it. I don't know if
it was an overwhelming, you know, over you know overwhelming,
a higher for Chicago. But a change absolutely has to

(01:04:37):
be made. You can tell me offline too, some of
the some of the dirt as well, animal.

Speaker 13 (01:04:41):
As I have sometimes, Yes, yes, please do we need
to reconnect my man?

Speaker 6 (01:04:45):
We should do that. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Before I throw it back to carry, I do want
to make Aaron Rodgers did come in back into the game,
only he gets sacked on third and sox so yeah,
so it's the carry Rhodes ball is a one side
of the thing.

Speaker 13 (01:04:56):
I will have a group text between three of us
exchange ideas and listen, listen, not save for the radio.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
Yeah, listen, did we did we say it was to
carry Rose Bowl or was the Arizona the Arizona invitation was?

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
What is really?

Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
By the way, who is your head coach of the Cardinals?

Speaker 3 (01:05:10):
The Cardinals it was with and Hunt can Jet as well,
by the way, Yeah, good guy too. But yeah, I
mean that's take that's stay with that game. I mean
they pinted Carrie's face at the fifteen It's really cool.

Speaker 2 (01:05:22):
Though they did not they did not. They didn't even
invite me to the games.

Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
But anyway, but no, no, no, but staying with the
Cardinals though. I mean Dan was high on this team
coming into the season, just not like playoffs or anything,
but he said that this team plays hard, They're going
to compete.

Speaker 6 (01:05:39):
They absolutely do.

Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
I love their four wins last year. They were a
headache to play against the smoke. That's right, yeah, I
I really, I really liked how they fought, Like what
what do you see? A ceiling?

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
A ceiling for them making the playoffs this year. I
know they're five and four right now, they're about to
be six and four? What what do you what do
you see there?

Speaker 13 (01:05:59):
I can't carry This is one of these things where
you know, because personnel, people evaluate personnel, and you know,
I always get opinions for the season. What do you think?
What are you hearing? And they'll asked me, were you
at their camp? What did you see? They want to
know about players like that, maybe they don't know about
they're on the bottom rung and see if they're going.

Speaker 6 (01:06:16):
To get cut.

Speaker 13 (01:06:17):
So anyway, nobody liked the Cardinals, and I mean nobody
like that. For you, Cayler Merry, you're never sure and
he's actually he's really playing well right now.

Speaker 6 (01:06:25):
James Connor's unbelievable. I mean, the.

Speaker 13 (01:06:27):
Guys, this is I gotta go back other than them
at Smith kind of ironically with the Cardinals, but he
revived his career with the Cowboys mid mid career. What
James Connor is doing and obviously everybody knows who should
know a story with leukemia and he's always overcoming.

Speaker 6 (01:06:43):
What a great story. He's just an.

Speaker 13 (01:06:44):
Amazing guy and I can't believe. And Jonathan Gannon give
him credit. Yes, they play you just you mentioned it.
Carry when whatever Dan said before the scenes started, they
played super hard for him. Give Drew Petsing their offensive
coordinator who's bringing in his version of Kevin Stefancy's offense.
That are running a lot of twelve parts and a
lot of two tight ends to receivers. Marvin Harrison's doing
a decent job. Trey McBride's terrific at tight end, very

(01:07:06):
little town on defense. They just execute really well. It's
a great coaching job. And give it the buy and carry.
You know this is a player when when you've got
to buy and buy the players, you can get things done.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
For sure. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan buyer. Adam Kaplan
our Fox Sports radio NFL Insider. Hear him on the
inside of the Birds podcast. We're looking at garbage bags
on on the grocery bags on the head of some
Jets fans.

Speaker 6 (01:07:29):
Oh really, yes, I turned it off.

Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
Jeez. By the way, are you siding with carry that
the Cowboys should give Trey Lance a look? Yes, that's that.

Speaker 13 (01:07:38):
I guarantee you that will happen. That two things are
going to happen. True, Lock's going to play soon. He's
not that again that that's not even a valuation. It's
called out evaluation modive when you go to the younger
developmental player. Obviously, Trey Lance is gonna have to play.
The Cowboy's gonna fall to three and six today, and
they're so beat up physically. Mike McCarthy, you know, it's
funny because we all got it wrong last year. A

(01:08:00):
lot of stuff you get fired. I mean, how could
you possibly bring it back. I mean, it's not his
fault with all the injuries, but they're just they're so bad.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
It is it is not good, and it has gone
from bad to worse against Philadelphia. Adam, we appreciate it.
We'll talk to you in week eleven. Thanks so much.
Here or maybe even before that Nines to get the bits. Yes,
hit them my back, Kaplin NFL. It's over to Manzi
Blanias giving us the latest of what's happening in these
and yeah they're not barn Burners at all. What's going on? Manzi?

Speaker 6 (01:08:30):
You know?

Speaker 8 (01:08:31):
I just wish I knew what's wrong with Aaron Rodgers
and the Jets because I had them going to the playoffs,
I had them winning today.

Speaker 7 (01:08:39):
I thought they were going to get on a little roll.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
You still have them?

Speaker 7 (01:08:43):
I had to you did.

Speaker 8 (01:08:44):
Have No, no, no, no.

Speaker 7 (01:08:48):
No, no, I'm not that crazy. I'm like a little crazy,
but I'm not that crazy.

Speaker 8 (01:08:51):
I oh man, it just he looks rough out there,
Bear Rogers.

Speaker 7 (01:08:56):
He just does not look like.

Speaker 8 (01:08:58):
Maybe what I was thinking it was gonna look like
it's all Tom Brady's fault, really for what he did
when he was, you know, a fifty.

Speaker 7 (01:09:04):
Year old man out there.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Do you remember you mentioned friends earlier? Do you remember
the episode of Seinfeld No, where they couldn't understand Jerry's
girlfriend and like like she was great, like everything was great,
but they're like she's a loser. Jerry like he couldn't
understand what was wrong with her because you have the quarterback,
you have the defense, you have Breesaw, you have these
wide receivers, and I just think the Jets are losers.

Speaker 8 (01:09:28):
I didn't really watch Seinfeld, but I feel like I've
heard that story, like people have views that as an
example to me before, and that's a perfect example. Yeah,
why can't they figure it out? The Cardinals seemed to
be figuring it out when it matters the most. And
Kyler Murray with this second rushing touchdown of the day,
they are just all over the Jets. Thirty one to
six is the score right now. They're going to start

(01:09:49):
the fourth quarter soon in Arizona. Kyler Murray has also
thrown for two hundred and sixty yards and one touchdown.
He's twenty one of twenty three again, just doing it all.
The Eagles all over the Cowboys, who are short d
today without Dak Prescott. They're up twenty one to six.
They're also knocking on the door to score second in
goal at Dallas's eight yard line. They're driving, they're in,
I believe so. Yes, they just scored again. The Eagles

(01:10:12):
so extending their lead over the Cowboys, and the Chargers
have extended their lead little by little over the Times
twenty seven to ten.

Speaker 7 (01:10:19):
Hassan Haskins.

Speaker 8 (01:10:20):
I know it's a rushing touchdown, but he just like
jumped over everyone. Did you guys see that one? He
literally leaped jumped over everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
World club.

Speaker 7 (01:10:33):
But that was a crazy touchdown. Just a couple of
scores from earlier today.

Speaker 8 (01:10:37):
Chiefs State undefeated, beating the Broncos after blocking their thirty
five yard field goal as time expired. Sixteen to fourteen
was the final score. Bills improved eight and two after
they defeated the Colts thirty to twenty and the forty
nine ers. It was close, but they walked it off.
They beat the Buccaneers with the forty four yard field goal.
Twenty three to twenty is the score. In Ape college football,

(01:10:58):
the poll is out unanimous number one. Coming in for
this week Ohio State moving up to number two, Texas
and at three, Penn State returned to the top five.
Indiana Tennessee BYU that's five sixty seven. Notre Dame, Alabama,
Ole miss in the top ten, meaning Georgia and Miami
fell out of the top ten after this past week.

(01:11:19):
Army comes in at sixteen, still undefeated. Colorado comes in
at eighteen. So the SEC has four teams in the
top ten and nine in the top twenty five, while
the Big ten's four ranked teams are all in the
top five.

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Monteam, where's Louisville? That's all. I want to help Louisville
somewhere twenty two.

Speaker 8 (01:11:36):
I think, yeah, they were there, but I did not
bring them in my honorable mention.

Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
I think they were twenty two. I'll confirm that because
I think they and LSU were right around the yeah yeah, yeah,
yeah yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:11:49):
And last thing here in baseball, baseball, Marlins have.

Speaker 8 (01:11:52):
Hired any manager. They have a manager. It's Dodgers first
base coach Clayton McCullough. That's right, that's right.

Speaker 7 (01:11:57):
So there we go, Marlins have a new manager.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Back to you guys, Thank you very much. Mone. It
is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. By the way, In
the AP rankings and the next set of college football
rank and the playoff rankings will come out on Tuesday,
nobody believes that Penn State is a top five team. No,
they may be fourth in the rankings, but nobody believes
that they are a top five team.

Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
They's funny because I've told you this before, Dan, but
they are the Big ten version of ole Miss, but.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
Old Miss actually got a big wins, you know, So
now I got to watch watch what I say, that's
actually very afropop. When you saw the when you saw
the matchups as well, it gives you a sense of
what college football is. And I'm a Big ten guy.
I don't love it. I don't. I mean it was
I mean, you had Indiana would face Tennessee, Big ten SEC.

(01:12:48):
You had Penn State in a Notre Dame matchup. You
had Alabama I think facing Texas in another matchup. Then
you had Ohio State taking on Boise State. That's what
the first round matchups would have been. Your only repper
exenitives from the ACC and from the Big twelve where
their conference champions champions in Miami and BYU last week.
That obviously changes this week, but yeah, you're gonna get

(01:13:09):
more and more of that, and I think that's what
we're going to see.

Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Listen, I do not I will pay to not watch
that Penn State Nor Dame again. It'll be nine to
eight for sure, It'll be a rock fighter.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Uh, he's carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer. I know our
Dame is a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
But I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Maybe I could be wrong. Maybe I'm not giving Penn
State the love that they deserve. Hit him up back,
Carry twenty five Roads. You can find me at Dan
Bayer on Fox coming up next to look at your
fantasy numbers. Plus, I want to dive deeper into the
Bear situation as well. We'll do that maybe in about
twenty minutes or so. He's Carry, I'm Dan. It's Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:13:44):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer.
He is the all pro, the starter from day one.
And the game is done between the Chargers and Titans.
Bolts get a twenty seven to seven win. It's a
running joke, but it's not a joke. Carry loves to
say on how quickly Charger games and this one ended

(01:14:08):
at six forty six Eastern times, starting at four or
five Eastern time, so about two hours and forty one minutes.
Even though the Cowboys Eagles started twenty minutes later. They
just finished the third quarter in that game. So there's
a whole I wish there wasn't another quarter of football
between the Eagles and Cowboys, but there is but that's
how quickly the game went by. And to prove your point,

(01:14:33):
this is what the Chargers did with the football after halftime. Okay,
the Titans come out and get a field goal. It's
thirteen to tene Chargers have a seven play drive forty
three yards covering four and a half minutes. They go,
they score a touchdown. They're up twenty to ten. They
then force a punt and get the ball and drive
eleven plays ninety five yards seven minutes and ten seconds.

(01:14:55):
They're up twenty seven to ten. They then get the
ball for three plays, three yards up seventeen punted after
a minute, and then they take a kneel down. They
had four possessions of the second half, two of them
led the touchdowns, they had, the punted, then the final one.

Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
It's become an academic and especially in their wins. Right
in their wins, the way they want to play, the
way they're gonna win is gonna be complementary football and
what it does for the team. In that scenario, they
have a defense that in the past struggled to if
they had a lot of opportunities, the team was going
to score on them. So they're limiting possessions. They're making

(01:15:34):
the game tight, and so if you make one mistake
against them, you're in trouble. And that's what's happening right now.

Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
This is not meant to disrespect Brian Callahan of the
Titans in any way, and I'm not going to. I
actually think once Tennessee finds out who their quarterback is,
I actually think they can have pretty good success in Tennessee.
But this is a game where if Jim Harbaugh was
on the other sideline and then Brian Callahan was on,
Jim Ball wins that game with the Titans players like

(01:16:01):
he just he's that good of a coach where he
will take your players and beat you with them.

Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
I'm so surprised you're saying that, Dan. You know, I
know you don't like Jim harbaughd I mean, I'm not
saying you don't like them, but yeah, you have an
unnerving feeling.

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
Around it. It's that Ohio State Seahawk fandom, and it's doubly.
First there's the Michigan thing, and then he went to
the forty nine on him. It was a whole other
other deal. But I have no problem in giving credit
where credit is due, and the Chargers are six and
three with that ten point victory. But again, I think
the Titans are are going to do good things in

(01:16:38):
the future with Brian Callahan. I truly do believe that.
It's just this is what Jim Harbaugh does, and I
think a lot of people saw that and maybe people
wanted to downplay him. I put the Chargers in the
playoffs in the preseason because of that, and they are
right now headed for it at six and three.

Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
Sorry, Dan, before you go, how much do you think
what he's doing is just his his ability to connect
with the players, because I mean NeXT's and oles. I mean,
obviously that comes and that goals or whatever. But the
belief that the players have in him. Do you think
that's the biggest thing right now? I do think it's
a I do think it's a really big thing.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
And the reason I say that is because I also
think when he was in San Francisco after a time,
some of that stuff falls on deaf years, and I
think that's new to the Chargers. I'm not saying that.
You know, it may wear out at some point. Maybe
it does, maybe it doesn't. I don't know, but I
know early on he has an impact and that's what
the truck record has shown. Let's jip over to Ryan

(01:17:35):
Berschinger's got to look at some fantasy numbers, and Bursch
before you start want to let you know. Cardinals up
thirty one to six on the Jets eight minutes to go.
The Cowboys replace Cooper Rush with Trey Lance. That's a
thirty one to six game as well.

Speaker 11 (01:17:51):
Well, let's look at these three late window games. Kyler
Murray twenty two to twenty four for two hundred and
sixty six yards and a touchdown through the air, three
rushes for two twenty one yards and two touchdowns on
the ground. But not to be outdone, Jalen Hurts fourteen
of nineteen two hundred and two yards with two touchdowns
and an interception through the air. Seven rushes fifty six
yards and two touchdowns on the ground, so two strong

(01:18:13):
hits from quarterbacks in this late window. James Conner is
not the Cardinals leading rusher on the day. Trey Benson
actually is, but despite that, he is their leading receiver
on the day. Twelve rushes thirty three yards and a
touchdown on the ground, five catches on five targets for
eighty yards through the air. Aj Brown a strong game
thus far. Five catches on six targets one hundred and
nine yards, and Calvin Ridley caught a touchdown in the

(01:18:36):
closing seconds of that loss against the Chargers to give
him two on the day. Five catches on nine targets
for eighty four yards. Aaron Rodgers I believe just eclipsed
one hundred yards. Yes, he did one hundred and nineteen
yards on the day for Aaron Rodgers. Well done, Aaron,
eighteen of twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
He's given him a slow clock.

Speaker 6 (01:18:52):
He made it.

Speaker 11 (01:18:53):
He is now in one hundred and nineteen yards through
the air and only six of those yards are two
DeVante Adams. Three catches on nine targets for six yards
for DeVante Adams. But hey, maybe he'll get to double
digits on the yardage on this drive.

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
I see. I believe. I believe Aaron Rodgers needed two
hundred yards today to pass Dan Marino for eighth all time.
Oh that's good. Yeah, because he shouldn't still be in
this one, I'll tell you that much.

Speaker 4 (01:19:21):
No.

Speaker 6 (01:19:22):
JK.

Speaker 11 (01:19:23):
Dobbins not a great game. Finished with fifteen rushes for
fifty yards on the ground, three catches on three targets
for five yards, and Ceedee Lamb in his first game
without Dak Prescott fully did have nine targets but five
catches for fifteen yards through the air and a three
yard carry.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
Yeah here fantasy. There was also a play that I
saw on social media, didn't see it as it happened,
where Cooper Rush threw it into the end zone. It
looked like Ceedee Lamb was looking into the sun at
that point. Also, he had Jake Ferguson and him in
his way, and I don't know if he was not
prepared for it, but could have been a touchdown pass
reception for Ceedee Lamb, but he was not prepared to

(01:19:58):
catch the football. If he does, I'm not trying to
make him absolve him of any wrongdoing. But that's a
small problem that the Cowboys had today in this thirty
one to six and d Hop got over WG yards. Now,
so that's got good news. Got you Ryan, these carrier roads.
I'm Dan Byer. What's wrong in Chicago and what could

(01:20:20):
happen tonight in Texas between the lines of Texans. That's
next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:20:27):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
Okay, I have done something I've experienced something in my
life when it comes to football that I think very
very few people have experienced. But you can kind of
get a feel for it right now. I'm gonna tell
you what that is. Carry Roads in just a little bit.
Even Carrie doesn't know what the heck I'm talking about.
This is what happens when the only two games that
are going on are both thirty one to six blood baths.

(01:20:52):
Welcome in. It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. Don't worry,
We're gonna keep you entertained for the next hour. We
are broadcasting live from the Tyrec studios. Tyreq dot com
will help you get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
Free road has a protection at over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirec dot com the way tire buying should be. For
some reason, Aaron Rodgers was still in the game for

(01:21:12):
the Jets, down thirty one to six with under seven
minutes to go. The Cardinals have pulled Kyler Murray, so
after the Jets failed to convert on a fourth and
on a fourth down, Rogers and the Jets offense left
the field. Clayton Tunes into the game, quarterbacking for Arizona.
The Cowboys have made their change at quarterback down twenty
five to the Eagles. Cooper rushes out, Trey Lance is in,

(01:21:36):
and now the Eagles have taken Jalen Hurts out of
the game, so Kenny Pickett's in now. If the Jets
end up getting the football back, we'll see if they
make a change at quarterback. But there's there's also the
chance with three minutes left that the Cardinals get a
first down here all they don't, so they do He
spoke too soon. Oh my goodness, shame on me for

(01:21:57):
thinking the Jets would tackle. They broken tackle, and the
Cardinals get a first down and are that much closer
to running the clock out. That's trying to catch the Chargers.
Dan get out of there. The Eagles are going for
a field goal that breaks our thirty one to six
deadlock for both of these games, as the field goal
kick is good for Josh Elliott and the Jake Elliott

(01:22:21):
not Josh Elliott from ABC News. Jake Elliott with the
field goal, it's thirty four to six. The thing that
I did that I think very few football fans have experienced,
and it has to do with what I was just
saying in nineteen eighty seven, I attended an NFL game
during the NFL strike. Wow. So if you remember back then,

(01:22:45):
if you were old enough to the NFL had a
week I didn't think they had a week off, and
then they had replacement players for about three weeks. We
had tickets. My uncle would have tickets to that. He
would give our family one Packer game a year, and
it happened to be when they played the Lions in
nineteen eighty seven during the strike. So none of the

(01:23:08):
players that you knew were playing. And I feel that's
what we've got in these last two games right here,
like with Clayton tune In and Kenny Pickett. And I
know we know who Kenny Pickett is and I know
we know who Drey Lance is, but it just isn't
the same of the start of the game. But that's
what this feels like with these two blowout games, is
you just have players on the field that you never
really saw before. And I don't know, I could have

(01:23:29):
said it's a preseason game, and maybe it's some of
that as well, but it also allows me to reference
back to nineteen eighty seven where I saw a scab game.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
So was it the quarterback with a Shane Falco or
was it Willie Bean. That's what I'm trying to about.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
I remember Alan Risher was the quarterback of the Green
Bay Packers and one of those Zenda Haas brothers. I
think Tony's Indejas kicked a field goal late to a
force an overtime. I think the Packers ended up losing
the game to the Lions, but yeah, it happened to
nineteen eighty seven. Players were outside picketing as well. Really, yes,

(01:24:04):
so you got the whole, like the whole, the whole
field of it, the whole gist of what that. Oh wow? Yeah?
Did you go willingly or were you forced to go
to this game? I went? I was ten, so it's
it was different. Yeah, Like you don't understand what was
actually going on. You just you wanted to go to
a football game. What I do remember is the other
games that we went to, you you always you were,

(01:24:25):
you were sitting next to someone. And I do remember
this is that there were more spaced out seating at
because not many as many people went to the game
at lambeau Field. But usually even when the Packers were bad,
they were still drawing crowds right at that time, and
so that's what that's what I remember from it. But
I went to a Scab game in nineteen eighty seven.
That's wild.

Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
Yeah, to think about that too. How many games were
played that year by the quote unquote scotch So there were.

Speaker 2 (01:24:53):
There were three I think that they they lost a
week and then there were three games that were played
in the final week. You had crossing over. It's one
of the you know, there are more names guys who
did cross the picket line and come back in the
third week, But that was one of the things about
Washington that year. They went on to beat the Broncos
in the Super Bowl, and they will point to those

(01:25:16):
three weeks. There was a documentary done on thirty for
thirty on that Washington Scab team basically, and they went
on Monday Night football. They went to Dallas, and Dallas
had guys who crossed the picket line and they ended
up maybe not the whole Dallas team, but significant names
that you knew, and Washington went and ended up winning
that game on that Monday night.

Speaker 3 (01:25:36):
So how close was that the replacement movie to that now,
because it kind of references exactly kind of what you're
saying right now, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
Yeah, I've never seen that, say so no, but I
knew exactly who you were talking about, So I knew
exactly the foul because I've seen the Falco j The
only Falco I know is the great European pop star
who he lost way too soon. So rock me, Amadis
you know that one? Yes, Yes, that's a great song.
Do the uh from greatness to sadness in the world

(01:26:03):
of football for the Chicago Bears, this is uh. Yeah,
it was a rough one for the Chicago Bears today.

Speaker 6 (01:26:11):
This is how it. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:26:12):
Let's just get a taste of what it was like
for the Bears in their first home game in overall
month as they welcome to the New England Patriots.

Speaker 10 (01:26:19):
To Town Steven's in a single bath though hotter emotions.
Why May with a play pick in the pool, give
it to the cat crow down Patriots.

Speaker 2 (01:26:32):
You have an adversity that hits it the first two quarters,
and Drake May settles down on this truck, and Drake
May is in a similar situation that Caleb Williams is
and Drake May ends up with it being a first
round pick and early pick and the third overall pick
on ninety eight point five of the Sports seven the
Patriots Radio Network leave Chicago with that nineteen to three

(01:26:52):
win over the Bears today, and I think that's part
of when we were talking with Adam Kaplan and if
you missed it, you can always check out our podcast.
But today is a game that you point to when
you look at the Bears in the offseason and say
a change is going to be made. They have gotten
progressively worse since they had their hearts ripped out against Washington.
Scored nine points last week in a loss to Arizona,

(01:27:13):
and now they scored three points against New England. I
know New England plays with heart and they've got a defense,
but with everything that you've got on offense in Chicago,
you can't figure out a way to muster more than
three points a game. You got a real big problem.
And it sure seems like now there's more going on.
DJ Moore has had a war of words in the
media about Matt Eberflus and I don't know how much

(01:27:36):
he's getting along with Caleb Williams. He mentioned the play
that he took off against Arizona where he says he
did something to his ankle. But it's not good in Chicago.
This is adding insult to injury, and I think the
Bears need an absolute restart, even if they are sitting
there at around five hundred.

Speaker 3 (01:27:52):
Yeah, in my opinion, And again I don't talk about
people's jobs either, but the thing about this Bear team
is I could see a scenario, even if they found
a way to make the playoffs this year, that eba
Flus is still gone, Like I don't you know what
I mean, That's that's what I kind of sense. We
can talk about the top quarterbacks and you know, the

(01:28:13):
situations they're in or whatever the case may be coming
into this season. When you looked at the weapons that
the Bears had, that was the place that any of
the top quarterbacks would have probably wanted to go to
think they would be successful. The fact that he's not
it's not on Caleb Williams. I know he has to
get better, but his coaching staff and the plans, the

(01:28:33):
plans that they're coming up for these games, it's just
not good at all. And so it's definitely on the
coaching staff to figure this out. It's not the players.
And mad Ebra Flush is the one who hires Shane
Waldron to bring him in. Yes, and at some point
the defense is going to resent the offense. Is stuff
like this keeps on going on and you're not getting
any help. But the point today of why it's such

(01:28:54):
a such a fair comparison is because New England isn't
in too much of a different spot than Chicago is.
I just think with less talent, they're starting over with
a new quarterback. You do have a running back that
they invested in with Romandre Stevenson. They want to they
want to run the football. You had twenty carries for
seventy four yards today. But the Bears were set up

(01:29:15):
for offensive success, but they're not built for it with
their offensive line. There's changes you need to make there.
It's also the point of when you're.

Speaker 2 (01:29:25):
Every job isn't the same in the National Football League,
and when the Bears job, or if the Bears job
becomes open, it is now appealing to any offensive coordinator
that could be ready for a head coaching job, whether
it be Ben Johnson and Detroit, whether it be someone
somewhere else. It's the fact of that job is going
to be more appealing, I think than any other job

(01:29:48):
because of what you have at the quarterback situation, and
as we've seen with the NFL, it does help to
hire an offensive guy because if you hire a defensive guy,
than your offensive coordinator likely could get plucked and go
somewhere else. And I think that's if you're the Chicago Bears,
it's to your point of even if they turn it around,

(01:30:09):
you can do better. It's not about allowing this team
and this coaching staff to deserve what they've gotten and
have an opportunity to come back. It's not about that.
It's about maximizing the talent that you have. And that's
why I think a loss like today is when you
look back or in a couple of months, if a
change is made, it's a loss like today. We could

(01:30:31):
point back to the commanders and the handing off to
an offensive lineman and the mistakes that they made and
fans waving, but that's all encompassing. But you have a
matchup here where you come home and New England is
an underman team and you put up this performance, I
means you need to be made.

Speaker 3 (01:30:47):
Just look at what we're watching, Well, what we've just
watched with this Jets and Cardinals game. We got a
head coach and Jonathan Gannon, that's got this team at
six or four with less talent. So there are guys
that can come in and turn it around. And I'm
sure or that one of the names that they're probably
going to attack any off season, if it comes to
that point, will be Ben Johnson. So you know, give
Ben Johnson those weapons and that offense, I'm sure it

(01:31:09):
would turn around.

Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
You know, Bobby Slowack's name Jenny last year and they thought, Okay,
maybe need another another season. Maybe this is the opportunity
because not everything is going that everything's going right in
Houston right now. They're dealing with some offensive line stuff.
You lost the Stefan Diggs. So there's also the point
of like, if you are a coordinator, not take any
job that's offered to you. But if you do have
that opportunity and it fits, it may be the opportunity

(01:31:33):
to jump and move on. And do you have another
job that could compete with that Chicago? Because you think
of Chicago, I think pretty clear, But yeah, there's another
job out there. Well, I thought that Philadelphia could be,
but honestly, the way that the Eagles are playing right now,
I don't think that Nick Sirianni is going everywhere, not
that the game against the Dallas proves everything. I do
think that there are problems. I just would find it

(01:31:53):
difficult for them to move on from Sirianni at that point.
I think the Giant situation is unique, and Adam Kaplan
mentioned that when we asked him about the Brian Dable thing.
Here's what I wonder about the Giants, because you are
going to need a new quarterback in there, and you
are gonna have to figure out your offensive line. You
do have a left tackle, but they tried to address

(01:32:15):
it this offseason, and I actually thought that their plan
and the way that they thought about this season was correct,
and like, let's get him a weapon. Let's get Daniel
Jones a weapon in Elik Neighbors. Yeah, let's try to
run the ball. In free agency, will try to spend
on the offensive line, and they did, and it just
hasn't necessarily worked out great for them. Defensively. I think

(01:32:36):
that you've got pieces with obviously with Dexter Lawrence and
Kevon Thibodeau, and you brought in Brian Burns this past offseason.
I think that there are pieces there. I just don't
know in the NFL now, if it's the true GM
head coachy, yeah, hierarchy, or now if it's more of
a partnership. So it sure seemed like a partnership because

(01:32:58):
Joe Shane and Brian Dabolt came over from Buffalo when
they took over the Giants job. So if Daboll isn't
getting it done as a head coach, then how does
this partnership stay does How does Joe Shane stay in
that spot when it seemed like it was a collaborative
effort to bring both of those in at that point.
So that's where I look at the Giants as saying, like,

(01:33:18):
you may have a full cleaning of the house if
a change is made, because those guys seem to be
tied at the hip, not having a general manager in power,
you know, hiring his own head coach. Yeah, I mean,
very very valid point.

Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
But we just saw a situation with the Jets where
I think Joe Douglas and Salah were pretty much the
same kind of scenario what you were speaking about. And
we saw Woody Johnson did during the season. He got
rid of, got rid of doing a season.

Speaker 2 (01:33:46):
So it's you know, I don't know, Yeah, well, but
I think Joe Douglas is probably out at the end
of the thing as well. Yeah, whereas in Chicago, Ryan
Poles was brought in. Ryan Poles isn't going to lose
the job. I think he'll still be the general manager there,
but now it's going to be up to him to
find the next head coach. Yeah. Usually gms get at
least two head coaches I think on their resume. But
with the different NFL that you have now, with guys

(01:34:08):
being tied in and brought in as a package deal,
I don't know how much that benefits the Giants to
say we're gonna get rid of the day Ball and
keep Joe Shane. It just doesn't. That doesn't considering they
were a package deal coming in, why wouldn't they be
a package deal coming out? So he's carry Roads. I'm
dan Byer heck. And one more, one more scenario. When

(01:34:33):
the Raiders hired Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziggler, it was
a package deal from New England, both of them see
you later. Now, Tom Tlasco's there, you know, keep Santonio
Pierce as his head coach. But it's they're not a
packaged deal. Ye'll come from anywhere else. All right, He's
Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer. It is over in Arizona.

(01:34:54):
Cardinals take care of the Jets with ease, thirty one
to six. Well, the Eagles with four minutes left, trying
to put the finishing touches on that win over the
Cowboys thirty four to six. Philadelphia on their way to
being seven to two, Dallas just four minutes away from
falling to three and six. Here's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
Trey Lance did get into the game. We'll talk a
little bit more about that. Plus how in the world

(01:35:15):
do the Kansas City Chiefs remain unbeaten? Very very simple,
and Carry Roads will tell you why. That's next year
on Fox Sports Radio.

The Cardinals won the Carry Rhodes Bowl today and the
Cardinals against Jets matchup and the Eagles have just topped
the Cowboys thirty four to six. Have you noticed something
so I just saw Ceedee lamb shaking hands. Some of
these Cowboys players don't appear like they're taking this loss
that difficult. I saw Calvin Ridley after the loss today

(01:35:58):
to the Charters of the Titans. He was all smiles,
and I feel like receivers are the only ones who
will smile after a loss if they got theirs, and
then be unhappy after a win if they didn't get those.
They are the DeVos of the team for sure, and
spoken like a true defensive back exactly. He is carry roads.

(01:36:18):
I'm dan Byer. Rapid Radios are the efficient communication device

All Right, a lot has happened today, and maybe the

(01:36:41):
biggest headline of all is that the Kansas City Chiefs
remained unbeaten. They are now nine to zero after a
win against the Denver Broncos. That leads us to this
week's version of all right, Simple enough, the second left

(01:37:04):
on the clock in Kansas City Broncos lining up for
the game winning field goal Will UPPs from thirty five
yards out as the Broncos are trailing sixteen to fourteen.
Here's how it sounded. Blocks waiting for the snamp place
for us down.

Speaker 1 (01:37:23):
Let's just kick his boot.

Speaker 6 (01:37:26):
The chase block the tack.

Speaker 1 (01:37:28):
They're gonna stay undefeated.

Speaker 4 (01:37:31):
The Kansas City Chase blocked a thirty five yark field
goal attemp jenas City wins this game on the block field.

Speaker 2 (01:37:39):
Goal ninety six point five. The fan and the Chiefs
Radio network, how did Kansas City stay nine to oh
cany Well, the.

Speaker 3 (01:37:46):
First and foremost, the announcer was even sought they won
that game. You had to laugh the nervous laugh there.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
Oh but no.

Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
On this play and another segment of Fast Times, all
the Kansas City Chiefs did here they went over low
block right in the in the personnel. They identified a
person that they could They thought they could they could
get an inside surge on and probably knock them down.
They've seen it on tape, so from film studying. They
go overload block right, they get a chance to put

(01:38:13):
pressure on the kick and as they go in they
run over the guy get a hand up, block the kick,
get the ball, get down, another big block, another big
play for the Kansasity Chiefs. Fourth and nine. Blocked the
potential game winning field goal on that play. You know,
the Denver bronc goes did a terrible job of protecting
that guy in that situation.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
And here we go again. Chiefs win sixteen to fourteen.
I shouldn't say nine and zero. They stayed undas and
to get to nine and L's right, How does Denver
prevent something like that from happening.

Speaker 3 (01:38:43):
You get somebody who can stand their ground. I mean,
obviously this guy has been getting knocked over. And I
don't know the player's name, but and I don't want
to say who it is. I don't want to put
him out there in the bad light. But when you
see something like this, they've identified that player as someone
that they could get a surge on and probably get
some penetration on. They brought an extra guy over from

(01:39:03):
the other side to make sure that happened. That's what happened.
The result is Kansas City survives again blocks a kick
fourth and nine, last play, Denver had a chance to win,
but Kennes City it prevails.

Speaker 2 (01:39:17):
Denver kind of shut it up. They kind of settled
in for this field, they did. If it's any closer,
is it any different?

Speaker 3 (01:39:25):
I would say yes, And I talked about this off
the air, We talked about it in the green room.
You get in a position. I know teams want to
protect it and not turn the ball over in this situation.
But with the Chiefs, we've seen they found the way
to win all the time. I would want to get
as close as I can, at least if you're going
to run a play, run the ball to try to
get some yards there and try to make an easier
feel goal.

Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
It was just a little bit longer than an extra point,
but we know that extra points aren't given, and it
wasn't given. It was taken by It was taken.

Speaker 1 (01:39:53):
Away fast times with Carrie Rhoades.

Speaker 2 (01:39:57):
You know, there is one thing that I would say
about this as well. Yeah, because we saw it earlier
in the year with Isaiah Simmons jumping the line against
the Seahawks or the New York Giants to block a kick.
The days of the guy coming off the corner and
flying out front those kicking has become so natural. So

(01:40:18):
I don't know just so precise that I think it's
so difficult now for those edge guys to dive in
front of a kick like you have to get your
jump has to be that you almost have to look
off sides to be able to get it from the outside.
The only way to block kicks is like Simmons did
this year, or like George Karloftis did here from the inside. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
The mechanics, the mechanics of the field goal is so
quick and so precise. Like you said, to get it
off the ads now it just doesn't happen. You don't
see it.

Speaker 2 (01:40:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:40:44):
The only way to do that now is to find
some weakness in the interior line and try to get
some penetration.

Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
I know this ticks off Denver. I know it does,
and I know it probably eats at Sean Payton. But again,
like we said, with the AFC being so awful, I
don't think it's going to come back haunt them. And
a lot of teams have played the Chiefs tough this year, yeah,
and and and been able to say, hey, you know,
we we played them tough, but we didn't get a win.

(01:41:10):
Denver's defense is legit, legit, and I think that's enough
to keep them in the playoff hunt throughout this, this
the rest of the season, and again in the AFC
where you're really only competing with the Colts and Bengals.
I mean the Jets now are three to seven. Yeah yeah, yeah,
they're so you're really only competing with two other teams
for a wild card spot on the AFC.

Speaker 3 (01:41:30):
Yeah no, They're not done by any means right now
in this situation, I did want to so I did
want to give a quick shout out to somebody that
was really good at blocking kicks. The next teammate of
mine that penetration. He just gets his hands up, He's like,
he's like six to seven though, Kalaias Campbell, which was
really good at that Arizona.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
I actually thought that, so you were again he has Carrier, Oads,
I'm dan Byer the Broncos by the way, the remaining
schedule this I want to prove a point. Yeah yeah yeah, Falcons, Raiders, Browns, Colts, Chargers, Bengals,
and then the Chiefs to end it. Those first five
all winnable games. Chargers game could be very interesting in

(01:42:09):
Los Angeles. Earlier in the season, the Chargers ended up
going to Denver and getting a win, but you could
get some revenge there, but the Broncos. The Broncos losses
have been to the Steelers, Chargers, Ravens, Chiefs, and then
the Seahawks the opening week. Pretty good teams gonna be
outside of outside of Seattle. All of these games are
are winnable games that you would say. The flip side

(01:42:31):
of this coin is the New York Jets, the three
and seven Jets who were destroyed by Arizona. I'm going
to read their schedule to you, and I'm gonna I'm
just there's a point I want to make Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins, Jaguars, Rams, Bills, Dolphins.
It doesn't seem daunting, no, but you have to realize
what you have in the New York Jets. And that's

(01:42:53):
why you can't say whether schedule looks easy, because the
Jets are just an absolute mess. They're a bad team.

Speaker 3 (01:42:59):
Yes, so none of these games are given. And just
last week I was exactly what you're saying. I'm like,
they can really probably still make the I had that
hope a week ago still at three and six, and
like then they can win all those games, but they can't.

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
They're not a good team. Yeah, they needed I mean
the Texans were shorthanded, yes, you know, pretty severely at
the wide receiver position. Texans have their offensive line issues.
They use the energy of a Thursday night home game,
get a win and pull it out. But you're not
gonna get that, and so there's gonna be another loss here.
That's gonna be eight losses, and there's gonna be another loss.
It's gonna be nine, and yeah, then they're gonna be

(01:43:38):
out of it.

Speaker 3 (01:43:38):
Then, even in that game where you just said, all
the juices should have been in a positive nature at
the have and Aaron Rodgers had forty yards, So it
wasn't like it was some crazy, you know, crazy come
out and let's get a win and make a statement. No,
they barely got that one as well. So it's just
it's it's a bad time and it's been a bad
time for a while being a Jet fan. He's carry roads.

(01:44:00):
I'm Dan Bayer.

Speaker 2 (01:44:01):
Let's go to the news desk, Monci Belaniasis here to
give us the latest. What's going on, Monzi fellows.

Speaker 8 (01:44:08):
We got one more game to wrap up well tonight,
to wrap up Week ten on this Sunday, Lions and Texans.
In case you're wondering no Nico Collins for the Texans,
he's been rolled out, and for the Lions defensive end
Zadarius Smith.

Speaker 7 (01:44:21):
Has also been ruled out.

Speaker 8 (01:44:23):
So this game starts at eight twenty Eastern time to
wrap up today's games on this Sunday for Week ten,
the Cardinals will start there because they really just crushed
the Jets thirty one to six.

Speaker 7 (01:44:34):
Kyler Murray through for two hundred and sixty six yards.

Speaker 8 (01:44:37):
He completed twenty two of twenty four passes, also had
a touchdown in the air to go along with two
rushing touchdowns. Aaron Rodgers twenty two of thirty five one
hundred and fifty one yards didn't get a touchdown in
all of their scoring game from field goals. The Eagles
also crushed the Cowboys thirty four to six. Jalen Hurts
through for two hundred and two yards and two touchdowns.
He did have one pick, but he also had two

(01:44:57):
rushing touchdowns in the win the Chargers. They topped the
Titans twenty seven to seventeen. Justin Herber another guy with
a touchdown in the air and a touchdown on the
ground to go along with one hundred and sixty four
yards in the air. The Patriots. They outscored the Bears.
You guys talked about it in the show. It was
not pretty offensively for the Bears. Nineteen to three was
the final score. Caleb Williams probably getting an ice bath

(01:45:20):
today because he was sacked nine times.

Speaker 7 (01:45:23):
Nine times.

Speaker 8 (01:45:25):
Oh, I would have just Rooney, I get Oh my gosh,
I can't even imagine. Vikings beat the Jags twelve to seven,
so Minnesota improves to seven and two. Sam Darnold through
three interceptions despite the victory, he didn't have any touchdown passes,
but he also threw for two hundred and forty one.

Speaker 7 (01:45:40):
Yards the Saints. They held on.

Speaker 8 (01:45:42):
They beat the Falcons twenty to seventeen despite only scoring
three points in the second half. The forty nine ers
walked it off on a forty four yard field goal
from Jake Moody, who missed three in the game, but
he hit the game winner. They beat the Buccaneers twenty
three to twenty. Gotta mention rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall,
who just seven one days ago was shot in an
attempted robbery.

Speaker 7 (01:46:02):
He caught his first touchdown pass and it was a
forty six yard touchdown pass from brock Party in style.
He does it being a badass.

Speaker 8 (01:46:09):
The Steelers hold on to beat the Commanders twenty eight
to twenty seven, a thriller till the very very end.
Steelers improved to seven and two. Commanders fall, not really,
but fall to seven and three the Bills. They had
a twenty to thirty win over the Colts. So now
Buffalo improves to eight and two the Chiefs. They stay undefeated,
beating the Broncos by blocking their thirty five yard field

(01:46:31):
goal attempt as time expired.

Speaker 7 (01:46:33):
You guys just played the call. They couldn't believe it.
Nobody could believe that.

Speaker 1 (01:46:37):
Nobody.

Speaker 7 (01:46:38):
It was just unreal.

Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
You got to hear the Denver side of it. Was
it heartbreak. Yeah, yeah, we'll do that one y, that's
a good one.

Speaker 7 (01:46:44):
Yeah, you should definitely. Let's listen to that. Final score
was sixteen to four in this one.

Speaker 8 (01:46:48):
But football today started in Germany, and that's where the
Panthers walked it off against the Giants in overtime with
the field goal. Twenty to seventeen was the final score.
Giants actually won the coin toss on the very first play,
setting up Carolina for that field goal. The Giants are
the first team to reach eight losses this season. Well,
the Panthers have now won back to back games. Go Bryce, Yeah,

(01:47:11):
back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (01:47:12):
Was it football of football? Okay, okay, okay, Goots said,
very good.

Speaker 7 (01:47:20):
And I know because that's all I know. That's all
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:47:23):
I looked up like she's about the speach. I was
four years of German and high school. I took it
in college and it's it. It'll come back at some point.
But there's no way I could have a conversation. Well, yeah,
I know, Guten dog, I know I can. I can
count to one hundred if you want me to, but

(01:47:45):
I don't think you want to. You know, we can't
go back and forth. And how long will it take
to you to count one hundred? Though, that's the question,
be quicker than you'd think. I'll tell you what, me
counting to one hundred in German would be better than
watching the Eagles, Cowboy or the Cargos Chats games that
we had to endoor for the event. How did it
sound on the Denver side of things? On KOA eight

(01:48:07):
fifty am and ninety four point one FM Broncos Radio,
Win Denver, was on the field attempting that game winning
field goal, an attempt of.

Speaker 14 (01:48:15):
Thirty five yards for the win, snap placement kick on
the way it is blocked.

Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
I don't even know what to say. I really him
at a loss for words.

Speaker 14 (01:48:33):
Thirty five yard field goal blocked with one second to go,
and Kansas City is going to get out of here
with a sixteen to fourteen win over the Broncos.

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
Uh, Dave Logan not a heavy canvor there there. I'll
tell you what he says that he didn't know what
to say. He knew what to say, he just couldn't
say them because of FCC rules and regulations. Because because
if I'm a Broncos fan, I'm saying those were Again
this is there are rivals in the National Football League,

(01:49:04):
you know they It would be one thing that they're
facing the Chargers. Obviously the Raiders. You know, everybody in
the AFC West hates each other. Yeah, but it's the Chiefs.
It's in Kansas City and they're eight no, and it's
there for you on a silver platter, and it just
gets taken away. But give the Chiefs credit.

Speaker 7 (01:49:24):
Said, I don't want to give him credit.

Speaker 2 (01:49:26):
Yeah, Dan, I don't want to give him credit. Why not.
I'm tired. I'm tired of them getting getting just winning
these games by the skin and their teeth. It's just
like it's irritating they and for once they didn't have
the football something we talked about a little bit a
little bit earlier. Denver ended up having it, But that
was the point. You wanted Denver to get a few
more yards in that final, in that final scenario where

(01:49:48):
they ended up settling for the thirty five yard field goal.

Speaker 3 (01:49:51):
Yeah, it wasn't like they were at the fifteen and
he's trying to take a knee to kick the field
goal like he was at the you know, he's had it,
could have got could have got it closer and made
it an easier kick.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
So, in my opinion, so it was. It was so
in just looking at the play by play, the Broncos
had a first and ten at the Kansas City seventeen
yard line with a minute forty six exactly. They ran
a play, got two yards, second and eight of the
fifteen with a minute left, got one yard, and then

(01:50:22):
on third and seven they called the time out with
twenty seconds left so bow Knicks could set up and
he lost the yard he lost three yards on it.
They were down to the twelve yard line. There was
I it's funny because there's so many games. They were
set back five yards, so it was a fourth and
five and then it went to a fourth and ten exactly.

(01:50:43):
I'm missing the play on the play by play here
on why they lost five yards. But if it is
at the twelve yard line in that scenario, then you're
only kicking at thirty yard.

Speaker 3 (01:50:54):
And the lift and the lift is different, the trajectory
of the kick is different, and all that stuff plays
is to play and people think like maybe these things
are minuscule.

Speaker 2 (01:51:05):
Nothing's minuscule when it comes to football. He's carry Roads.

I know you are an actor, you're a musician, you're
a former NFL player. I want to go to your
acting sense of it. Okay, we were talking about Seinfeld earlier,
talking about Friends. I think one of the biggest misconceptions

(01:52:24):
when we're talking about like our favorite shows are sometimes
it's just episodes that don't hit. Yeah, and I've seen
grids of Friends in Seinfeld where it's been this is
the entire series, season by season, and one episode, and
this is the rating of each episode. In some of
those you know in Seinfeld, there's very few with low ratings.

(01:52:45):
But the point is there are some episodes that just
don't hit like others. I feel like that's Week ten
in the NFL. Like we started out with this you know,
monstrous game that had all of the excitement between the
Ravens and Bank in Baltimore on Thursday night, and then
we had to put a competitive overtime game in Germany

(01:53:06):
between two bad teams in the NFL, and then the
Chiefs end up staying unbeaten because of a blocked field
goal and uh it was a Leos Shanal that had
the block. At the end. I think I was giving
George carloftis a lot of the everybody will yeah, a
lot of the credit on that. But just the point
of the games that we had in our late window

(01:53:26):
did not provide a lot of excitement. But I don't
know if Week ten provided did a lot of excitement.

Speaker 3 (01:53:31):
Yeah, on every TV that's in the studio, guys, just
so you know, we have TVs all over they all
say at thirty one to six. So it was that
type of It was that type of week this week.
And yeah, like you said, there's there's gonna be duds
as far as a full week goes. As usually never
a full week of duds, but this, this wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (01:53:51):
This might be that week. It was just an interesting
I'll give the Steelers and Commanders at the tip of
the cap. That was a good one. And for Mike
Williams to have the game winning touchdown after being traded
this Jets. Yes there's a theme. There's a theme. Carrier outs,
he cashes in and and what a what a great

(01:54:13):
win for Pittsburgh. Tough one for the Commanders. Sometimes you know,
ball doesn't lie. They're gonna, they're gonna they're gonna lose
a game that maybe they felt that they should have
won because of the hell Mary. Maybe that's what this
one was. But the Steelers continue to roll. And you
played the Mike Tomlin clip to me during the break
of him not even wanting to get into any conversations

(01:54:34):
about Lamar Jackson or the Baltimore Ravens or comparing Jayden
Daniels to the to the Ravens signal caller. He figured
that he would leave that for another day because of
the the The squads will be meeting up next week
in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (01:54:51):
The only team in the league where that term you
just said, ball don't lie doesn't apply to who was
that Jets?

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
Yeah that's true. Yeah, Yeah, you're actually right. It's the
only one hundred percent so far so far. Again, Carry
and I both feel that maybe the Chiefs they don't
need to lose to know what it feels like to lose.
They just need to lose because at some point, not
everything is going to go your way. And that's the
point that we made.

Speaker 3 (01:55:19):

Skettle for everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:59:07):
This is Fox Football Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:59:10):
He's carried roads on Dan Byer. It is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio. The Bill's gotta win today over the
Indianapolis Colts thirty to twenty. Buffalo sitting there at eight
and two, the second seed, so they really would have
loved the Kansas City loss, but maybe not because they
have the Chiefs coming up in week eleven. Should be
a great game. But when you look at Buffalo getting
that win today in Indianapolis, I said earlier, I thought

(01:59:32):
I knew what the NFL was in week six, and
now in week ten, I don't know what they are. Yeah,
I don't know what the Buffalo Bills still are A
thousand percent. I'm so glad you brought it up.

Speaker 4 (01:59:41):
I was.

Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
I watched them and it's similar to Kansas City this year, right,
like they just win, they kind of win, they play bad,
and then they can win and they can kind of
turn it on and second half. They have that kind
of thing going for them right now. But at eight
and two, I don't know how good they are. They're
gonna need Amari Cooper. I really think that is that
is big. Their next four games Kansas City, San Francisco,

(02:00:04):
the Rams, and the Lions. And so for a team
like Buffalo that I think can they could beat the
teams that they're better than. Yes, it's this four game stretch.
They go to and two that that's enough to tell
me that that they're legit. But they go one and
three in the offense kind of sputters. I'd have big
concerns if I was Buffalo. I agree, that's a wow,
that's a that's a that's a grueling four game stretch.

Speaker 2 (02:00:25):
Yeah, it was a gauntlet for a couple of teams,
Lions and Texans. Tonight, who do you like? I have
the Lions tonight, Lions are the favorite.

Speaker 7 (02:00:31):
On the road.

Speaker 2 (02:00:31):
I'll take the Texans just to be different. He's carry roads.
I'm Dan Beyer. We'll talk to you in week eleven
on Fox Sports Radio.
