Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Dare I say, Dare I say? It's a Super Bowl
preview today in Baltimore, Kerry Rhades. Could we have it?
I hope not, because it's been a dog of a
game so far, at least on the Eagles side of things.
Welcome in. It is red zone radios. We are broadcasting
live from the tirerec dot Com studios. Tierrec dot com.
We'll help you get there at unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
(00:27):
Tirerec dot Com the way tire buying should be. Eagles, Ravens, Rams, Saints, Buccaneers, Panthers.
That is our late window in week thirteen, again three games.
We had a busy Thanksgiving, we had the Black Friday game,
but the NFL going with the three games in the
late window because they want everybody really to have their
(00:47):
eyes on the Ravens and the Philadelphia Eagles. And right
now it's been all Baltimore for the first quarter. It's
been all Baltimore. Early.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
We were talking about this off the air. I mean
I picked the Ravens to win this game by you know,
by double digit. It's by ten points and whatever.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
A what a bragger? Yeah yeah I did, I did,
I did.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
And so like it's just like I meaner number one
when you don't get to see Baltimore enough like a
division opponent, very hard the game plan for in one
game and then this game, obviously all eyes are on
three people on this field that are in the MVP race.
So it's going to be a big game, a highly
anticipated game. But the Eagle strength going against the Ravens strength,
(01:26):
I mean their run game. The Eagles has been obviously
dynamic and Baltimore is number one and against the run,
so seeing what's going to give there, I was saying,
the expector for this game is getting Baltimore, getting Philadelphia
to get into non passing situations, which they have early
in right now is nine nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
In Philadelphia without DeVante Smith. It is a bit of
a different animal. And yes, even in our conversations, so
I don't want you to think I'm stealing what you're saying,
but I think it's all pretty pretty obvious that the
Ravens are coming in saying, Okay, we can't let Saquon
Barkley do what he did to the Rams, so we
of course, like that's that's got to be our number
one focus. And if Jalen Hurts beats us with his arm,
(02:04):
yes he beats us with his arm, but he doesn't
have one of his better targets, So be it. If
that's the way it's gonna go, that's the way it's
gonna go. And even though the Ravens have had issues
defensively at times this year, it's a lot easier if
you could just make a team one dimensional and when
that one dimension is a bit shorthanded without DeVante Smith, yeah,
(02:24):
I agree with you. I think it's gonna be a
tough day for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, I mean, and the Eagles have been playing really well,
and you know, to come into this situation, it's almost
like a buzz saw anyway. I mean, Baltimore it's starting to,
you know, pick up their their momentum as well, and
starting to you know, give Derek Henry the ball more
and stick to their identity. And even this game, I mean,
Lamars has had a great touchdown pass, but they've been
feeding the Beast the King early on and trying to
(02:49):
wear down this defense as well.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
And I'm not a handicapper by any means yeah, And
even though these teams played in the same stadium last
week and play against Eachester. They played in the same
stadium though the Eagles, and on Sunday night against the Rams,
and then the Ravens Monday night against the Chargers in
Los Angeles. Long week, cross country trip on the way back,
and I know the Ravens had one day less of prep,
(03:13):
but to be able to get the opportunity to be
at home, I think is a big deal.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
It's a big deal, yeah, for sure, getting back into
the comfort of your own place, your own home, especially
over the holiday weekends Thanksgiving as well, so getting to
spend some time, if I'm sure a lot of them did,
got to spend some time with their families and being
a comfortable place definitely helps. And I mean it's not
a far not a far travel from Baltimore to Philly,
but again you're in the conference of your own place.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
And now a situation that has developed in Charlotte where
the Panthers have just taken the lead on the Buccaneers.
Bryce Young ten yard touchdown run, got his knee in,
hit the pylon, extra point coming up, but Carolina leads
this game now nine to seven, seven forty five to
go until halftime.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
And how good is Bryan spend the last couple of weeks, right,
it looks like he's got some joy again. He's out
there smiling and making some throw making some really great throws,
even in this game one that was dropped on the
sideline a little bit there. But I mean, just the
confidence in his game is starting to show why he
was highly regarded coming out of college.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
The first two weeks of the year, he didn't look
like he belonged to the NFL, let alone a starting
quarterback in the National Football League. So just to see
the progress that was made, and I think an interesting
theme throughout what will be the show, because it's evident
in week thirteen and something we'll get through later. There
(04:37):
is no one right way to handle a quarterback situation
and a young quarterback. And we've talked a lot about
Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young in their situations, and we'll
get to Richardson a little bit. But stellar performance in
bringing his team back for a victory today and the
Colts remained in the thick of it in the AFC
Wildcard race, where now if you're Carolina, you're not in
(04:58):
it in the NFC by any mean. But what you
need to see from Bryce Young is you need to
see something that is good enough so we can hopefully
see more of it next year, and that we don't
have to use a draft pick on a quarterback and
abandon the position less than two years after trading up
and taking your number one. Overall, they needed to see
(05:20):
something more and he has done that so far, which
is all Carolina needed to then try to move forward
as an organization.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
One thing you said there, there's not one way to
handle that that number one quarterback position, and whether to
sit them, whether to start them, whether to throw them
into the fire right away, whether to have a veteran
guy that's there that can, you know, kind of ease
you into that situation. It's been done every which away, right,
So I think the number one thing when you do
(05:48):
draft those guys or take a quarterback high, they have
to be high character guys because there are going to
be moments when it's not going well for that quarterback
in that first year, and so how would they be
able to bounce back? And that's probably the number one thing.
If I was a GM picking the guy who's going
to leave my franchise. Obviously, he has to be a
guy that we can trust that when things don't go well,
(06:08):
he'll be able to bounce back.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
You know, not that this is a huge deal, because
we've seen teams be able to rebuild in a lot
of different ways. But when Carolina traded up for Bryce Young,
you're also trading up players like they traded Dj Moore away. Yes,
you're trading draft picks of players that you could have
picked to help the team. So when Bryce Young is
(06:31):
brought in, there's there is a lack of talent there
just for the simple fact of you traded it away
and now need Bryce Young to close that gap. And
now you're at a point in a in a franchise
and evaluating Bryce Young. It's like you've already paid that
that now you just need to know if Bryce Young
(06:52):
is good enough. Maybe he's not going to be able
to close the gap of what you traded for him,
but you do need to know because of how much
you invested in him, if he is your quarterback of
the future, and the season that he has this year
with his first year head coaching Dave Canalis, which is
the reason that he was brought in Canalis, doing the
work with Geno Smith, doing the work with Baker Mayfield,
(07:15):
and now in within season, in the months that they've
been doing and it sure seems to have worked. Yeah,
or at least have helped as I shouldn't say work,
that's the wrong I take that back. It seems to
have helped Bryce Young. I think that the jury is
obviously still out on him. Oh yeah, the jury is
still out. But you know, Dave has done a great job.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
And I think the fact that he was able to
and I don't know how those conversations went with the
GM and the owner about even sitting him at that
time right to see if that was working. We had
a conversation earlier where that first game when Andy Dalton
came in and we were like, okay, the rare rocket
came in and showed that whatever Dave is trying to
get accomplished here can work, right. And I also think
(07:55):
Bryce being able to sit back to see that as well,
to see that if you do it this way and
you operate in the offense this way, it can't work.
And I think that's the beauty of it. Like again,
you just said it. These guys are young. You have
one bad season and two three bad games and the
beginning of the year. It doesn't mean your career is over.
And so we're getting to see that right now.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
And if you remember the way that Bryce Young god
his starting job back was because Andy Dalton and his
family were in a car accident on their off day
earlier this season and injured his wrist, and the Panthers
at that time then decided to go with Bryce Young
and have stuck to it. That was always going to
(08:34):
be the plan was then going back to Bryce Young.
That scenario just I think maybe sped it up a
little bit and allowed the Bryce Young retakeover if you will,
to happen. And at that point, you know, now here
we are and it hasn't been all roses, but it's
been at least better than it was, miles better than
it was the first two weeks of the season.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
I didn't know about the accident, but I didn't know
he actually got hurt. But but I think even at
that point, even if he wasn't hurt, I thought the
move would have been the right move at that time anyway,
because they weren't, I mean, as solid as Andy Duggon was,
they still it wasn't moving the needle. They weren't winning.
So I mean, of course, I think going back to
see if the investment that you made would payoff.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
I think you bring a man and let's let's let's
find out you would have maybe this would have been
the week or next week or whatever the case is,
the point you would have brought him back, but at
some point he was going to be in the starting lineup.
So Panthers are a ten to seven lead on the Buccaneers
Saints Rams at a rematch of the NFC Championship game
from six years ago. Still talking about that, there are
two games that I think of when I think of
(09:39):
Saints Rams. Do you want to know what they are?
I mean, no, Number one NFC Championship game with a
pass interference call, but number two. If you ever have
seen any of our clips that we've put from Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio online, we put helmet matchups up
in the studio and the mini helmet matchup I have
as a throwback Rams Saints Rams when they were still
(10:04):
in LA but with the gold horns and the Navy helmet,
and then the Saints in their older fluid de lee
if you will. This was the Flipper Anderson game where
he set the NFL record with over three hundred yards
receiving for the Los Angeles Rams came against the New
Orleans Saints in the Superdome. So yeah, Willie Flipper Anderson
(10:24):
with the with the NFL record. So when I see
Saints Rams, I think of NFC championship and Flipper Anderson
with that magnificent day. Right now, three nothing living up
to absolutely nothing, the records setting game. Both fans of
the teams are wearing bags on their heads in the world. No,
(10:44):
just kidding the Saints, by the way, as crazy as
it is at four and seven, still in the thick
of it in the NFC South, especially with the result
that we see going on in Carolina right now with
the Panthers with that lead over the Buccaneers. Saints do
have the ball right now, second and five at about
the forty five yard line. Alvin Kamara has just taken
a run into Saints or Interram's territory just across the
(11:08):
fifty yard line. Saints do have one time out left,
so looking to get some points on the board. Missed
a kick earlier, They'll try to at least get something
here before halftime. As they continue to lead LA by
a score of three to nothing. He is Carrie Rhodes.
I'm Dan Beyer, a huge, huge play in the NFL
today with ramifications that could be far reaching, not only
(11:28):
for the players involved, but for the future of the
National Football League. We'll dive into Anthony Richardson's day as
well as the Colts came back with a win against
the New England Patriots. And listen, there hasn't been a
lot gone right for me over the last week when
it comes to football. So my small win of the
Seahawks beating Carrie's Jets today, I'll take it. But we'll
(11:49):
get into how the dysfunction continues, not only for the
New York Jets, even the Seattle Seahawks a little bit.
They have their own problems, but we're able to figure
out a way to get a win. Today we discussed
all of that and so much more. He's the all
Pro Carry Roads. Get him at Carry twenty five Roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox and
Blue Sky. Yet Carrie still off. I'm still off. Find
(12:10):
me at Dan Byer on Blue Sky if you would like.
Eagles have the football and are driving, but trail the
Ravens nine nothing right now, early in the second quarter,
told you that the Panthers are up on the Buccaneers
ten seven. But Mike Evans has just caught a pass
taking him down to about the Carolina thirty yard line.
So the Buccaneers are in business with about five minutes
to go until halftime. And we mentioned under a minute
(12:31):
ago in the Saints tab that three nothing lead against
the Rams. All that's next year on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Here's the snap.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
Tampa Brinks four Young backpedal steps up, He'll run for it.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
He's got the ten near side by twur.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
The pylone touchdown.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Bress you back to Dan Beyer and carry Rhoads.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
That was done in nine point seven the Fox and
the Panthers radio network. This is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
It's Carolina was able to get Bryce Young into the
end zone. The highlight we talked about. We told you
that the Buccaneers were driving, they were Their drive ended
in three points. So we've got a ten to ten
ballgame with three minutes to go in the first half,
(13:25):
Carolina getting the football back and they are nearing midfield.
So in NFC South showdown going on between Carolina and
Tampa Bay, and it is a good one. They are
at the half in New Orleans. The Saints kicked a
field goal, so it is six to nothing, and a
stat that was put on the board during the Fox
broadcast was that this is the first time since December
(13:47):
of twenty sixteen one and twenty nine games that the
Rams did not score a point in the first half
of a game. That deserves a class. Yes, yes, it's like,
don't cry because it's over smiled because it happened. That's
all you have to look at it. With the Rams.
It was quite a streak. All good, all good things
must come to an end. And the Rams trail six
(14:09):
nothing at the half and then the game of this window.
Would you say this is game of the day or
do you say Niners Bills tonight is game of the day?
Oh that's that's a good one. I think this is
the game of the day. The Eagles and Balts, I mean,
I agree, Yeah, I think so. I mean, but you know,
obviously if San Francisco was the San Francisco that most
(14:31):
people thought, then that'd be it could be up for grabs.
And that's obviously not including Seahawks Jets. I mean, obviously
we are not including that. It was up my mind
the Seahawks should play all their games in that stadium.
They fare very well at the brand new MetLife I
mentioned earlier. I mentioned earlier that the uh the Saints
(14:54):
and Rams game reminded me of the Willie Anderson for
Bor Anderson yp record. When the Seahawks and Jets play,
I'm still mad about nineteen ninety eight when Vinnie Testa
Verdi never got into the end zone and the Seahawks
were screwed and basically prevented from getting a wild card
berth because of that. So it was quite quite a
(15:16):
day today for the Seahawks against the Jets. But yeah,
not the game of the day. Philadelphia Eagles Baltimore Ravens
right now, nine to nothing, Ravens on top of the Eagles. Hey,
let's focus on one of our Fox games from earlier today.
Who watched the Minnesota Vikings get a comeback victory over
the Arizona Cardinals. Let's focus on that.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Now it's time for the NFL on Hawks Focus.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Greg Olsen joins the program. He was the analyst that
saw Minnesota come back and beat Arizona twenty three to
twenty two. I have no idea how the Minnesota Vikings
did it today because every time I looked at the TV,
greg Arizona seemed to have the football. How did Minnesota
come back get this victory today against the Cardinals? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (16:06):
I mean really, when if you just looked at the
box scorer, you would think, oh, Arizona handily won the game.
I mean, they dominated plays, time and possession yards. But
what it really came down to was in the first
four red zone trips that Arizona made, they went oh
for four as far as scoring touchdowns, And it just
against the team that you just knew at some point
that Minnesota offense could come to life. We said it
(16:29):
there in the second half. It just felt like, even
though they had the lead, it just felt like at
some point Minnesota was going to come to life on
offense and those mistouchdown opportunities were going to come back
to haunt them. And that's exactly what happened. Arizona decided
to kick a field goal up three to make it
a six point lead with a little over three and
a half minutes in the fourth quarter, and Sam Darnold
(16:50):
was able to lead a touchdown drive to go ahead
and win it.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
So it was.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
It was not the prettiest day early on, but I
thought in the fourth quarter, Minnesota, on both sides of
the ball, played about as well as they have in
over the flast couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Yeah, Greg, it looked like from I mean I didn't
see the game live or even watch it until I
saw some of the later stuff on it, but it
looked like Arizona dominated time possession and it made it
forced the Minnesota to get into a passing game, which
obviously they like to be balanced. Did that have any
effect on the game, Arizona's control of the ball and
pretty much, I mean, like you said, dominated dominating the
(17:25):
game statistically, yeah they did.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
But you know, dominating time of possession doesn't matter if
you don't end up scoring points, and I think that's
really what ended up being their demise. You know, they
finally scored a touchdown on their fifth red zone trip,
but you know, as we said, the previous four were
all field goal tries and one was a miss. So
it just waste drives. You go the long way, you
have a hard time, you know, throwing the ball over
(17:50):
anyone's head for big, explosive touchdowns. So what that does
is it just highlights the importance of red zone offense
and taking advantage of those opportunities. And that really was
the difference in the game. Because I thought defensively, I
thought Arizona was excellent. I thought offensively run pass, I
thought Tyler Murray was good. I thought the run game
in James Connor were good. So when you look across
(18:10):
the board, they did a lot of good things, it
was just that glaring, you know, weakness in the red
zone on offense, you know, proved to be the difference
in the game.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
He's carried roads. I'm Dan Beyer all here on Fox
Sports Red Zone Radio. Greg Olsen joining us. He was
on the call of the Vikings win over the Cardinals
today that you saw on Fox.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Greg, I want to ask you about the Harrison situation
in Arizona. You know, with him and Colin Murray, we
expected that to see a lot more bigger plays with
those between those two, and they just haven't really materialized.
When you watch the film. Do you see anything that's
glaring about what they're trying to do with their connection.
Speaker 5 (18:48):
Yeah, they're having a hard time, you know, really just
offensively in general, generating a lot of downfield, deep explosive plays.
You know, earlier in the year, in Week two, you know,
Marvin Harrison had his by far his best game and
Kyler Murray pushing the ball downfield and a lot of
those targets were to Marvin Harrison Junior. And really since then,
and we talked about it on the broadcast today, since then,
(19:10):
I just haven't been able to really capture that magic.
It's really an underneath and second level type of passing game,
and get it just makes it hard to go the
long way in the NFL at some point you have
to be able to strike and go downfield. So I
think he's young. I think he made a couple of
nice plays today, you know, Marvin Harrison, And I think
it's just part of that evolution as a young player,
(19:31):
continuing to get a feel for what that looks like,
what NFL ball looks like. Coverages are different, defenders are
a little closer, catches are a little more contested. But
I have no question he's going to be a really
good player in this league, you know, and obviously he's
off to a pretty solid start.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Last one for you, Greg Alson joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio. He was the analyst as the Vikings
beat the Cardinals today. A couple of years ago, we
saw the Vikings win all those close games with Kirk Cousins.
We say that's not sustainable, that can't happen in the
National Football But we're two years down the line and
they're on a five game winning streak. They're winning seemingly
these one score games. Is there something that Kevin O'Connell
(20:08):
is doing that maybe the rest of the NFL can't
figure out because we're seeing coaches being roasted and coaches
losing jobs for how they handle late game situations. Is
there something that Kevin O'Connell is doing in Minnesota that
works in these close games that maybe others aren't doing.
Speaker 5 (20:23):
Yeah, I think when you talk about one score games,
I think there's a couple of different factors, But the
main one is you know that the main factors are coaching, quarterback,
game management, right, those are the three main factors, and
then obviously there is a little bit of sprinkled in
luck that that is at play. There is a little
bit of a regression to the me and you mentioned
that twenty two season they're eleven to oh and then
(20:45):
they kind of they lose in the wildcard round at
home to the Giants, and then last year they didn't
have quite the same luck. You know, they've lost more
than they won in those in those one score games.
Now this year they're seven and oh. So it has
been kind of the trademark and the hallmark of what
this team is been since Kevin O'Connell's been coached. But
I think he understands critical moments. I think he understands
(21:05):
his team. I think there's a belief within the locker
room that won score games, they're gonna end up winning
them and they expect it. And obviously quarterback play you
mentioned twenty two with Kirk Cousins and now this year
with the way Sam Darnold's played. Good coaching, good quarterback,
good attention to detail and game management and situational ball,
it'll take you a long way. And like you said,
we've seen a lot of people on the other side
(21:26):
of that coin this season, and it ends up costing
guys their jobs. It's not easy. Not everyone does it,
but the teams that can do it right, it's a
big differentiator.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
He's Greg Olsen and saw the Vikings beat the Cardinals
today on Fox twenty three to twenty two. We wish
we could have asked you Trey McBride questions, d J.
Hockinson tight end questions, but the safety carry roads would
not allow me. Greg. He did not no tight end
questions whatsoever. He's right next to me, So I got
(21:57):
what that says.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
Fair enough. Both both really good players though, so maybe
next time.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
All right, thanks, Greg, appreciate it. I appreciate you. Travel,
Greg Olsen on the call for the game that you
saw on Fox, Vikings ten and two, not all lost
for the Cardinals, six and six with that loss today,
still with it and striking distance of the Seahawks, with
the Seahawks next week coming to Arizona. You won't be there.
(22:21):
I won't be there. We know somebody that will be there, right,
it's the little Lonely Man, and she is here to
give us the latest of what is happening in week thirteen,
not week fourteen.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
You guys sound jelly.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
I'm a little jelly, A bunch of dands jelly, but
jelly because you're not wearing my jersey anymore.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
Yeah, well I would. I would hope she would share
for the Seahawks.
Speaker 7 (22:44):
No, yeah, Grace won't let me wear Cardinals.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
You're making fun. You're going with your friend, like make
it competitive.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (22:51):
No, we are gonna have fun.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
We're gonna have a grand time.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
It's gonna be so great.
Speaker 7 (22:54):
It's gonna be so great. I mean, can I wear both?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Is that weird? Yeah? Actually, really weird.
Speaker 7 (23:01):
It'd be really weird.
Speaker 9 (23:02):
No.
Speaker 8 (23:02):
Yeah, she's definitely expecting me to wear Seahawks. She's gonna
give me stuff to wear. I told her, because I'm
not gonna buy anything Seahawks. She's like, I got you
so yes, I am el right, I could I could
get like a bmode.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Sure, sure, I like that. You just get a share,
that says Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
Yeah, b smode, that's what I want. That's what I want.
Speaker 8 (23:22):
We've got three games going on right now. For the
first time this season, the Rams were held to zero
points in the first half. Settle Saints are on top
six zero so very exciting there. The Buccaneers and the
Panthers are tied at ten apiece with less than two minutes.
Speaker 7 (23:37):
To go in the first half.
Speaker 8 (23:38):
Bryce Young ten of eighteen, one hundred and thirty seven
yards and a rushing touchdown. Mike Evans for Tampa Bay
three catches, forty seven yards and a touchdown. If you
didn't see that touchdown, that one handed touchdown, you must
go look at it on social media.
Speaker 7 (23:51):
Because it's great.
Speaker 8 (23:52):
The Eagles just got in the end zone Jalen Hurts
connecting with Dallas Goddard, but the Ravens are still on top.
It's nine to seven halfway through the second quarter and
Baltimore currently has the ball at their own thirty three
yard line. What happened earlier today in the NFL, You
guys were talking about it a little bit, But the
Steelers are now nine and three after a forty four
to thirty eight victory over the Bengals. Russell Wilson twenty
(24:13):
nine of thirty eight four hundred and fourteen yards, three touchdowns,
one interception.
Speaker 7 (24:17):
The Vikings are now ten and two.
Speaker 8 (24:19):
They came back from behind to edge the Cardinals twenty
three to twenty two. Sam Donalds Sam Donald twenty one
of thirty one, two hundred and thirty five yards and
two touchdowns, including one to Aaron Jones that gave them
the lead with one thirteen left in the game. The
Seahawks outscored the Jets twenty six to twenty one. Seattle's
defense had a pick six and didn't allow any points
in the second half. The Chargers are now eight and
(24:41):
four after taking down the Falcons in Atlanta seventeen thirteen.
Justin Herbert sixteen of twenty three, one hundred and forty
seven yards.
Speaker 6 (24:48):
That was it sacked five times, But it.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Was a Chargers defense that had a pick six in
the second half in a successful two point conversion gave
them that lead In that win.
Speaker 6 (24:56):
The Colts hold on to beat the Patriots twenty five.
Speaker 7 (24:58):
Twenty four.
Speaker 6 (25:00):
The New England kicker Joey Slide had a sixty eight
yard field goal.
Speaker 7 (25:03):
It looked like it was good.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
It went straight down the middle, but it was sixty
eight yards and it fell short.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah that wards it went six. Oh.
Speaker 6 (25:10):
It was so but you for a second you were like,
is that actually going in?
Speaker 7 (25:13):
For a hot second?
Speaker 8 (25:14):
Anthony Richardson led the game winning drive a three yard
touchdown pass to Alec Pears, and then he drove it
in himself for a success successful two point conversion that
left twelve seconds in the game.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
They hold on, They win the Commanders. They bounced back.
Speaker 8 (25:27):
They crushed the Titans forty two to nineteen. Jayden Daniels
twenty five of thirty two hundred and six yards, three
touchdowns and an interception. He also had nine carries for
thirty four yards and a touchdown, and the Texans hold
on to beat the Jaguars twenty three to twenty. There
was a nasty hit on Trevor Lawrence resulting in the
ejection of a couple of players, so it was Mac
Jones who came in to play for the Jags. He
(25:47):
ended twenty of thirty two for two hundred and thirty
five yards and two touchdowns. It was not a pretty
hit against Trevor Lawrence, who missed the last couple of
games with the shoulder injury.
Speaker 6 (25:55):
So hopefully he's okay back to you guys.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
We are, Yeah, we're gonna We're gonna talk about that
sure as well. Later on in the program, a couple
of things quickly. Baker Mayfield just through an interception. No
I was looking for look like Kate Aughton, maybe out
in the flats, and it was picked off, So now
Carolina will take a takeover with the ball near midfield,
about forty three seconds left to go. While in there
(26:19):
on forty three yard line, Moncey Milanios, I want you
to stick around because you and Carrie hung out together
on Friday afternoon. We did for four hours and for
Doug Gottlieb and for Cavino and Rich and you played
a game MANZI thought of that. I ended up being
a part of Yes, that was called who Knows by
(26:40):
your Best?
Speaker 7 (26:40):
Who Knows by your Best?
Speaker 2 (26:41):
And so give me the premise you're you're thinking of this.
Speaker 8 (26:46):
I just I felt like it was it would be
a fun segment for Carrie and I to have during
our four hours since.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
We both work with you pretty closely.
Speaker 8 (26:54):
He's your co host, I'm sometimes your co hosts were
here every Sunday together, so I just thought it would
be fine, and it was super fun.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Came down to the wire. Yeah, I hope you both
had perfect scores near the end.
Speaker 8 (27:10):
So Brie, who helped us put this together, she asked you,
I think fifteen questions that I had no idea about.
Speaker 7 (27:15):
I didn't want to know. We only did seven.
Speaker 8 (27:18):
But it was three three like we literally were tied
three three and went down to question seven and I want.
Speaker 7 (27:27):
But it went down to the wire and the last
question it was and the questions were so great.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
Could you guess the same answer like or could or
did you have to pick a different one if you
picked one like you both could have guessed the same
because it was multiple choice, right, So.
Speaker 8 (27:43):
It was like your name was your buzzer, so it
was who went first type of thing, you know.
Speaker 7 (27:47):
And then there were times where like Carrie you know.
Speaker 8 (27:49):
Said his name first and was confident in his answer
and I was like no, or like I was like
confident in my answer and I was wrong.
Speaker 7 (27:56):
It was so good. It was a lot of fun.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
If you didn't listen to it, you should listen.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
I do have the audio file in my email fold
that was sent to me. You listen to it. Because
I came out on fire, came out like a house
of cards, he did, and I.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Thought I was going to run away with this thing,
and she came back and took it to and I.
Speaker 7 (28:13):
Thought I was going to run away with it. To
be honest, when we were.
Speaker 2 (28:16):
Tired of that, that's why you thought of the game.
You like, I can win, I'll embarrass him on this one.
But Dan, I listen and think, I only you think
I don't know as much about you think I know
a lot.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
It was.
Speaker 6 (28:29):
It was really fun and we still have questions for
you know part two.
Speaker 2 (28:34):
That's right.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
Who knows when.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
I'm not that shallow. I know I may sound like
it on the radio, but there may be some substance
to me that he can actually go deep and find out. Yes,
I can't wait to listen if one.
Speaker 8 (28:47):
Question that I that he answered so confidently and you
got was when they the question was what Jersey would
you rather wear?
Speaker 7 (28:54):
Wolverines or rams or whatever? And he answered it and
I was like, man, that was good carriers, that was good,
good job.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
You know what hart was to get to come to
work today, like it is just its tough to get
out of bed. Oh sorry, it was, It's just I
told him.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
I was like, that's I didn't even text Dan Yesterday's
like they're good.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
You know me better? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Right?
Speaker 7 (29:18):
I was like, I hope nobody's texting him.
Speaker 6 (29:20):
But I literally was like, somebody check on Dan, but
not me.
Speaker 7 (29:23):
Yeah, it's not going to be me.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
This is that that rivalry is. You know, it's so
it's so hot and tense. But honestly, I don't know
if I would have been as big of a fan
as I was of Ohio State if they weren't getting
beat by Michigan every year. Sure, like there's some like
scar tissue that develops when it's like lost and this
(29:45):
is the late eighties in the early nineties, and it's
just happening again and again. And that's what yesterday felt like.
It was a flashback to about thirty years ago when
this was happening and other people experience it different ways.
People were Alma maters, but it was like, man, this
is this. I just I feel like I'm I'm thirteen
(30:06):
and twelve years old again and just being when I
would show up to school because it was usually before Thanksgiving,
the game was and it was we had a short week.
But all my friends would laugh at me because they
we wouldn't have talked or had cell phones back then.
So when I walked into school on Monday, it was
always a pick on dan Fest because Ohio State lost
to Michigan. Yes, got it? Yes the uh yeah. So
(30:29):
I appreciate the support. Well, glad to hear that Mancy
was victorious. Yes, glad to hear? Yes, why are you
glad to hear? Because Moncey liked my post about my
wife's birthday. I did Carry Woods did not what I
looked that was gonna be the tiebreaker. I'm out there
liking all these Carry Roads pictures, the new shoes, black
and black and white, authentic, the whole deal. And I
(30:54):
make one post in three months on my wife's birthday,
and I'm like, it's a out. I'm I blame the album,
like looking at looking at Carry Rhoads where I didn't
see it. I blame the algorithm on the break. I'm
liking that though. He even promote his own song. He said, look,
look there's always there's always an angle the Carry Roads.
Oh no, all right, hit her up at Monty Belanios
(31:16):
not yet on Blue Sky, Carry Roads, not yet on
Blue Sky. Find him at Carrie twenty five Roads. You
can find me at dan Byer on Fox or on
Blue Sky at dan Byer. The Eagles not only pulled
within two of the Ravens, they are on the verge
of scoring again. Jalen Hurts has taking it down to
about the half yard line. Gee, I wonder what they're
gonna do. From here. But it's a nine to seven game,
(31:37):
Eagles trailing the Ravens. They are on the second half
in New Orleans. The Rams didn't score in the first half,
but they are on the move. They are in Saint's
territory right now with about yeah, the Saints twenty two
yard line, facing a second down and ten a couple
of minutes into the second half, and as we told you,
(31:58):
Carolina got the turnover Baker Mayfield. Down to eleven seconds left,
third and three for Carolina right now in a ten
to ten ball game, trying to take the lead here
at half time.
Speaker 3 (32:09):
And Pathers have missed two field goals in this game
as well, so it's they need to put it in.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
Yeah, we'll tell you what they do, because it's a
third and three situation. But there's only eleven seconds and
they're inside the ten yard line. They don't have a
time out. They're actually at about the eight and a
half yard line. So you're gonna have to throw it
into the end zone here, or at least just throw
it away so you can get the field goal unit on.
They throw it in the back of the end zone
and Adam Feelin was unable to reel it in. They'll
(32:34):
probably take a second to look at this because he
did bobble. It may be worth it, but it's under
two minutes. We'll have a look and see if Carolina
did get into the end zone otherwise a field goal
attempt three. Feelan popped it up almost to himself. I
think I think he caught it. I think you're right carry.
(32:55):
I think he is in bounce. Yeah, I think so.
I think Feelan on the ricochet to him South got
his knee down and as John Madden always told you,
one knee equals two feet and I think this is
gonna be a Carolina touchdown if they review it. So
we will let you know on the other side if
it is a touchdown or not. But I think Carolina
has got six year rams getting a first down. And
(33:17):
now it's first and goal from the Saints ten yard
line in a six to nothing game. As Kyraen Williams
takes it down to the four yard line and Philadelphia
did get into the end zone, it's fourteen to nine
Philadelphia on top of the Ravens. I'm assuming it was
a Jalen Hurts touchdown run month Okay, that's we were
focusing on the Panthers game and didn't see the push
(33:38):
in from Jalen Hurts. So the extra point from Jake
Elliott was good. Fourteen nine Eagles now two minute warning
in Baltimore. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer to look
at your fantasy numbers next year on Fox Sports Red
Zone Radio. Look at that throw, Bob Bryce Young, you're.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
This is certainly push push kirston goal, Hurts under center,
Hurts is pushed and he's a touchdown. He's got it.
Speaker 4 (34:08):
Touchdown once again. Here's Dan Beyer and Carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
It is Fox Sports Red Zone Radio the Highlight their
courtesy of ninety four WIP and the Eagles Radio Network.
Jake Elliott's extra point was good. Eagles on top of
the Ravens, fourteen to nine, now thirty five seconds left
to go in the first half. The Ravens are driving.
They just converted on a first and ten for another
first and ten, getting down to about the twenty yard line.
(34:36):
About thirty seconds lef to go in the first half.
But a five point game in Baltimore. This has the
makings of the game that could be score Agami. Where
it ends up like thirty two twenty nine something like that.
I'm not sure if that is score agami. I do
have the scorey gomi grid. Now I've learned throughout the
(34:57):
years to have it immediately in front of me. If
it was there, thirty two to twenty six would be
score a goami. I can tell you that much. Got it. Also,
thirty two to thirty two wouldn't be score a goami
because it would be a well you could yeah, if
they went into overtime, you could have a tie. But yes,
thirty two to twenty nine has happened before. But that's
the type of feel that this game has. Yeah, Philly
(35:18):
has done a good, great job of getting back in
this game. Baltimore had a few missed opportunities when they
were up nine nothing to extend the lead.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
And now that's what happens. You let a good team
hang around, and now they're the team that's in front
right now. So it's sicking up to be a really
great finish. Now Baltimore doesn't have any timeouts and Lamar
Jackson was just pressured and try to throw the ball
away and he's going to get an intentional grounding call
on this and what's gonna happen, and there's twenty one
(35:47):
seconds left, they're gonna have to you'd have a ten
second runoff in this scenario, I believe gotta have field
goal ready, yes, but at least it would allow them
time to run the team out on to the field.
Here's the other situation is it looks like Lamar Jackson's
knee was down, which wouldn't matter if it's grounding, he's
down from that point. If he's down, he's down.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Yeah, but at least because of the stoppage of the play,
Baltimore could put their unit out on the field. Even
if you have the ten second runoff, they could just
end up kicking that extra point. So what's that, Chris Profeder,
executive for Yeah, contact it was down by contact? Was
I just listened to the team call? So the ruling
on the field is what you guys are talking about.
So they'll end up they'll end up, well, they're gonna
(36:32):
run a play here, so it's a won't be a
spike situation. So you don't have because of the penalty.
You don't have the penalty. You don't know the ten
seconds of runoff. Thirteen to ten, Carolina leads Tampa Bay.
They did not think Adam Thielen gained possession on that
ricochet play, So a little crazy there, Rams on top
of the Saints seven to six in the third quarter.
That's where we stand in these late games. Now, Carrie Rhodes,
(36:54):
it's time for a look at some fantasy numbers with
Ryan Bersinger.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
Fantasy heads.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
And the missing Lamar ran around for a little while.
Throw it out of bounce. Now eight seconds left to go,
and so it looks like the Ravens are going to
probably attempt the field goal first. Take it away.
Speaker 10 (37:10):
Yeah, very important week in fantasy as teams are charging
towards the playoffs. Here, let's look at your hits and
misses from the early at Patrick and that's right, sorry, Patrick,
I'm coming away with the victory.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
Maybe I'll plant my flag at midfield, don't He will
be here at five. That'll be a fun little interaction,
all right. Uh.
Speaker 10 (37:37):
Jaden Daniels your top scoring quarterback from the early games,
twenty five of thirty with two oh six and three
touchdowns to the air to throw an interception, but nine
rushes thirty four yards and a touchdown on the ground.
B Jeon Robinson had a huge game, and he is
probably the only exception from this Chargers Falcons game because
you'll hear more about it in the Missus. Twenty six rushes,
one hundred and two yards and a touchdown on the ground,
(37:58):
six catches on six targets for thirty three yards. Terry
McLaurin obviously with Jayden's great game, he also had a
great game eight catches on eight targets for seventy three
and two touchdowns. Trey McBride twelve catches on twelve targets
for ninety six yards, having a great season at tight
end for fantasy, but ironically still not a single receiving
touchdown on the season for Trey McBride. Oh, he's had
(38:19):
four touchdowns. I believe three were rushing. In one he
fell on a fumble in the end zone. Let's look
at some misses. Let's have an entire game in the Misses,
Chargers Falcons was a forty seven and a half over under,
and it fell very far under that. Both quarterbacks Kirk
Cousins twenty four to thirty nine two forty five yards,
four interceptions, Justin Herbert sixteen to twenty three for one
(38:40):
hundred and forty seven yards. Kenneth Walker, you'd like to
see more from sixteen rushes forty nine yards on the ground,
two catches for negative three yards. But Breese Hall on
the other side of that game twelve rushes for sixty yards.
Tank Dell one catch on four targets for twenty three
yards and a plus matchup. That's unfortunate and both tight
ends in this Chargers Falcons game, Kyle Pitts zero catches
(39:00):
on two targets, Will Disley zero catches on one target.
And those are your fantasy hits and misses from the
early games.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
B kirk Cousins tried to throw me one, but I
was I wasn't close enough. So that's what that game
looked like earlier.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
More like Dell Tank in the Texans game. Tank Dell's
had a tough one this year. Kirk Cousins will get
into him as well. Could it be Could it be
Michael Pennock's time? Oh, that is the discussion, not for
another day. That is a discussion for today here on
Fox Sports Radio. Something we'll get to in just a
(39:36):
little bit. Rams again, up seven to six. Have the
football now in Saints territory four forty three left to
go in the third quarter, facing a second and four
from the forty yard line, getting about a yard on
an end around, and the Rams will be facing a
third down, likely four down territory for them in this scenario.
(39:57):
Justin Tucker's field goal was good, but the Eagles have
a fourteen to twelve lead on soccer in the Ravens
as they head the halftime. We told you Carolina at
Leeds Tampa Bay thirteen to ten at the half. In Charlotte,
he is carry rhoads. Find a Matt Carey twenty five roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox on
X and also on Blue Sky. Coming up next, it's
the play you're gonna see over and over. They'll play
(40:19):
that no one wants to see in the NFL again.
That's next year on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
You know I've got a problem with the National Football League.
I do. I've got a problem with the National Football League.
I'm gonna get to it later on in the show.
But there's an issue has to do with the playoffs,
and it's a bigger issue. On the surface. It's a
topic people talk about a lot, but there's a much
bigger issue, and we could see it play out this
year and it's very, very unfair to some NFL teams.
(40:51):
We dive into that in so much more as we're
broadcasting live from the tierraq dot com studios. Tyreq dot
com will help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast
free shipping, free road has a protection and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirerac dot com the way tire buying
should be. He is the All Pro Final met carry
twenty five roads on x. You can find me at
Dan Byer on Fox and also at Dan Bayer on
(41:14):
Blue Sky. So we've got three games in this late window.
Ravens and Egles are at the half while the Panthers
and Buccaneers are underway in the third quarter, as our
Rams and Saints well underway in the third quarter, actually
nearing the end of that third quarter in a one
point game, a seven six affair. Earlier today, we had
some great matchups. Spoke with Greg Olsen last hour as
(41:36):
the Vikings came back against the Cardinals to win the game.
Greg mentioned Arizona's inability to score touchdowns and had to
settle for field goals. I know there's no such thing
as moral victories, and Arizona feels like they probably dominated
that game, had penalties, couldn't score, kicked themselves in the foot.
(41:57):
Think it tells you again and how legitimate Arizona is.
This is not a fluke. They are in it for
the real deal when it comes to the wild card.
And in the NFC West, he had the Steelers and
Bengals play a crazy one where I don't think a
lot of people counted the Steelers in despite their record. Heck,
Vegas had Cincinnati is about a three point favorite and
(42:18):
Russell Wilson and it's it's the prove me wrongs. Let's
I should say, prove myself agains for the Pittsburgh Steelers
because it's not just Russell Wilson. Van Jefferson had had
a big catcher to today. You know, Mike Williams was
signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. There are a lot of
people on Pittsburgh squad that are trying to prove things right,
(42:39):
and they were able to take it to the Cincinnati Bengals.
But one of the games that went under the radar
was Jacksonville and Houston, and it's an AFC South matchup.
Jacksonville one of the worst teams in the league when
you're talking about record. In fact, they be on the
clock if the draft started today. I believe they get
(43:01):
Trevor Lawrence back today, comes back from his shoulder injury.
But unfortunately Trevor Lawrence was not there at the end
of the game because of this play call courtesy of Fox.
Speaker 1 (43:12):
There's no doubt that Trevor represents them.
Speaker 9 (43:14):
Oh, mine'll be al Shire who's flagged for the big
hit on the slide and that's going to start a
little bit of a scrum afterwards as the Jaguars coming
to protect their QB.
Speaker 2 (43:25):
That hit on Trevor Lawrence spy al Shire was scary, nasty. Yeah,
absolutely one percent. I think avoidable and I hope that
the NFL lays the hammer for as much as they
can for a hit like that. That's just as scary
(43:46):
as a to a hit that we've seen. We saw
Trevor Lawrence and in that position again, his arms lock
up and it's one of the symptoms we see of
head trauma and Trevor Lawrence was completely out of it there.
In fact, the players are fighting and Trevor Lawrence is
still laying on the ground as this is happening and
(44:06):
not moving. Yeah, it's just a hit. It's a different
hit than to a being rag doll on a sack
that we saw with his head hitting the turf. This
was pure player caused and there's no place in that
in the NFL. Fans don't want to see that sort
of play. I would hope that the NFL ends up
handing out a huge penalties of the Texans linebacker.
Speaker 3 (44:29):
Yeah, they have to. I mean, we definitely definitely witness
TBI on that possession for sure. If you guys don't
know what TBI is, this traumatic brain injury and so
definitely saw it happen there. The defensive player obviously is
going hard as he can. Al Shire though having priors
on his record here, he's he's been a guy that's
(44:49):
gotten personal foul penalties before, so you know, I don't
want to label him as that guy, but you know
he has a record of it. You going for a quarterback,
he's starting his slide. We know that these quarterbacks are
trying to milk it and get extra yards and you know,
trying to you know, trying to advance the ball as
far as they can before getting down. A player has
(45:11):
to protect himself. But on that play definitely could have
been avoided. He went to the head, followed through with
the hands on the neck, the helmet area all that.
So definitely I agree with you, big fine needs to happen,
Suspension needs to happen.
Speaker 2 (45:25):
You got to set a precedent on that. You cannot
do that. We've we've entered a league where you're giving
fifteen yard penalties to players for tackling the knees of
quarterbacks because the quarterback is so important to the National
Football League that play there is only made by the quarterback.
(45:45):
Quarterbacks the only one that slides, that gives himself up. Yes,
And that's so that's why in the NFL, when if
there's if there's a way to do it, I don't
I don't know how substantial of a penalty can actually
be given because of what is in the CBA and
what's been bargained with the players association. But that play
(46:06):
can't happen. And the reason I say that, Carrie, is
because those are the plays that make people not want
to watch football again. Those are the plays that if
I want my kid to be involved in the sport,
and I see I don't want them to play that sport,
and that's what the NFL has tried so hard to
get away from. That's not the quarterback injuring his knee,
(46:27):
and it's going to hurt the product on the field.
That's just the overall essence of football. And when you're
trying to tell everybody that the game is safer, it's
never been more safe than it is now. Concussions are this,
Concussions are that those hits that are still prevalent, and
if players are willing to give hits like that, I
understand the game portion of it. I didn't play it
(46:49):
on your level, but I'm trying to be to understand
where a defender would come from in that scenario. And
I just can't think of a re on why you
would follow through on the hit that al Shire did
today against Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
Yeah, the follow through was just it was a nasty play.
It was yeah, you know, I don't want to put
the other word on it, so I just say it's
a nasty play. And again, yes, there's been plenty of
situations when I had a guy like that, or a
quarterback slide and you just kind of fall over the top.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
You don't follow through like Superman. Right, Yeah, you tried to.
Speaker 3 (47:24):
That was almost and going in with intent And I
don't want to say that, but it looks that way.
Speaker 2 (47:29):
And here's the other The other problem with it is
I'm gonna I'm gonna take a different sport. Yeah, by
the way, the Rams got the football. DeMarcus Robinson has
just caught a pass down inside the five yard line,
so the Rams will have a one point lead the
end of the first excuse me, nearing the end of
the third quarter, about to be set up for a
first in goal in that seven to six ball game.
(47:51):
But in Major League Baseball, have you ever seen when
a pitcher as a fastball get away from him and
it goes to the head of the hitter More often
then not, the picture is remorseful because they know that
they weren't trying to throw it at someone's head. Yes, now,
if there's some back and forth between teams, you'll see
guys be thrown at. Even in that case scenario, Kerry,
(48:13):
you don't aim for the head. You plunk him in
the back, you plunk him in the hip, you know,
plunk him low. You throw behind him. You don't throw
at their head. And that's what happened here and al
Shire's got history, yes, but worse than history was his
response today was the absolute lack of remorse. Wow, for
(48:34):
what was happening. Evan Ingram of the Jacksonville Jaguars even
immediately came in. He and Evan Ingram got into it.
Then other Jaguar players a huge melee on the sidelines
as they were trying to get everyone separated. He is
still el Shire still trying to go after other Jaguars
players who was having words. And at one point Brandon
(48:54):
Shurf is walking over to him and al Shire takes
his helmet off as to say, let's go, and so
does you know Schurff as well, he takes his off
like they're gonna fight. Like this is I understand the
whole deal of it, but here Trevor Lawrence. All the while,
Trevor Lawrence is still laying on the ground having the
effects of the concussion. And that's not what people want
to see. So you don't even have remorse for it,
(49:15):
like there have been times. I mean, heck, when Lawrence
Taylor broke Joe Thiesman's leg, he you know, immediately signaled
for the training staff to come out. You didn't mean
to do that, And in that case, this seems like
it was deliberate and the strongest penalty needs to be levied,
as the NFL can do, because people are gonna stop
watching football if there are more plays like that. Wow.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
I've never looked at it that way, but yeah, I
mean I agree with I do agree with the whatever
the penalty can be. You throw that penalty at him.
It was a bad play, dirty play. And then you
talk about the priors and even the part you just said,
the non remorse about it, that's just that's not cool
at all.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yeah, it's you know, and you know, into a tongue
about situation in terms of protecting him. And I'm on
the record of saying like, if Tua doesn't care, I
can't care about to his health. Yeah, I want to
I don't want to see to it like that. I
don't want to see him be putting those situations, just
like I don't want to see Trevor Lawrence be putting
in that sort of situation. And that was you know,
to to like truly, even if he slid late carry,
(50:19):
even if it was a late slide, if that's the defense, yeah,
there's still no reason for a hit like that to
take place.
Speaker 3 (50:25):
No, it's just it's not even it's the hit obviously
is what we're talking about, but it's the follow through
cause again you're aiming at the guy and you may
make contact with him as he's sliding late, but it's
the follow through and that part is the part that
can't happen.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
It was just shy of a first down as well.
It was a second down carry, you know, so you're
trying to make the trying to make the yardage would
have probably I think it ended up being a uh,
it would have been a third and short. But obviously
the penalty on el Shire ends up giving Jacksonville a
first down at that point. But yeah, the skirmish is
going on and Trevor Lawrence is just sitting there because
(51:01):
this happened on the Jacksonville sideline and just an ugly,
ugly scene in Jacksonville. Yes, all right, an update from
New Orleans. We told you DeMarcus Robinson caught a pass
to get inside the five yard line. Well, DeMarcus Robinson's
just got a touchdown on the first play of the
fourth quarter, Rams, extending their lead against the Saints. It's
thirteen to six extra point coming. Maybe the Rams go
(51:22):
for two here to make it a two score game.
We shall see. They are just underway of the second half.
Eagles and Ravens. Lamar Jackson has got the Ravens into
Philadelphia territory. Now getting into field goal range. Is Mark
Andrews catches about I would say fifteen to twenty yard
reception down to about the twenty yard line. So the
Ravens trying to come out of the locker room down
(51:44):
to to Philadelphia and four minutes gone by on the
second half in Charlotte, Panthers continue to hold on to
that thirteen to ten lead against the Buccaneers. Sean McVay
doesn't listen to me and kicks the extra point and
it's fourteen to six. He is carry Roads. Find him
at Carry twenty five Roads. You can find me at
Dan Byer on Fox on X. Coming up next live
(52:05):
from the tirerec dot Com studios. The Bears are searching
for a new head coach. Some interesting names popping up
in that scenario. Plus we'll find out what the NFL
can actually do with the hit that head. Trevor Lawrence
leave today's game with that concussion. He's carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. That's next year on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (52:23):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 2 (52:34):
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. This is Fox Sports
Red Zone Radio, and the Saints are on the end zone.
Marquezvaldez scantling touchdown pass from Derek Carr from about I'm
guestimating here twenty eight yards out. Actually I see it
on my screen. Twenty eight yard touchdown, passing you two,
fourteen to twelve. We'll see what the Saints do here
in terms of going for two, because there's a minute
(52:58):
gone by in the fourth quarter, still plenty of time.
I would kick the field. I would kick the extra point.
In this scenario in Charlotte, Baker Mayfield is down on
the turf. It's a thirteen to ten Panthers lead on
Tampa Bay six forty four to go. Buccaneers were facing
a third down in Mayfield was feeling some pressure and
(53:21):
Josie Jewell was in there, and Jewel ends up taking
him and throwing him down. In Mayfield's taking a look
you don't like to look at some of these injuries,
and I don't I don't blame you. I don't think
this is a grotesque one. It just looks like maybe
Baker Mayfield had something. I don't want to guesstimate, but
he is being attended to by trainers right now. If
(53:44):
Mayfield leads to leave the game, Kyle Trask would be
the backup in Tampa and then in Baltimore. Kyle, excuse me,
Justin Tucker just missed a forty seven yard field goal
fourteen to twelve. Eagles still on top of the Ravens.
Tucker having a tough time this year, or we may
have a problem. That's what it's come down to right now.
We've had a problem all year long. We've talked about it.
(54:04):
In fact, we've talked about it with our next guest,
Adam Kapell and our Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider Inside
the Birds podcast. I know you've got one eye on
this Eagles game as well on the Pro Football Network.
But John Harbaugh has said that he would stick with
Justin Tucker. Is there any point that they wouldn't or
is this just something they're gonna have to deal with
the rest of the season. We have to deal with it.
Speaker 11 (54:24):
I mean, you're talking about the best kicker in NFL history.
He's never had a bad year and he's having it
down here. He missed an extra point earlier when when
they're up nine to nothing and they could have obviously
gone up ten nothings. So yeah, it's been a really
amazing game in a fascinating day of football. Certainly, Certainly
a couple of things happened which we're interesting, and also
(54:45):
the Thursday games were fascinating as well.
Speaker 2 (54:47):
We had it.
Speaker 11 (54:47):
We also had another head coaching change, one that I
thought for sure was going to happen at the end
of the season, but it was moved up to this week.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
Adam Kapla joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. I
want to get to all of those topics, but I
do want to find find out what what could be
done with l Shire in Houston on the hit on
Trevor Lawrence? Is this a CB a deal on his penalty? What?
What are we going to find out about a possible
penalty for the hit on Trevor Lawrence.
Speaker 11 (55:13):
Well, you're gonna get a fine. It's going to be
a fine. And now it's John running Will.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Here's what they do.
Speaker 11 (55:19):
They look at two things. They look at the history
of the player of how many times he's done this?
Speaker 2 (55:24):
What's that strike one?
Speaker 5 (55:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (55:26):
Yeah, man, that's you know when I when I would
call the league to you know, to get information when
I was at ESPN, I would want to find out
how they do this. Well, you look at history of
the player of infractions, then the then the severity of it. Uh,
the Eagles just fumbled. We'll see if it counts. It's
really bad if they if they fumble there, but and
(55:48):
then you you just you go from there. He's gonna
get fine. This is the quiet because I remember he
was supposed to thrown out. You know, it's interesting again,
it's it's going to be interpreted by John running in
his group. But how did he go after you like, like,
how did he clearly go for his head?
Speaker 2 (56:05):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (56:06):
You know it look like more to his shoulder. Again,
people are gonna interpret it one way, some of them
look at it another way. I'm interest to see what
the league says about that.
Speaker 3 (56:13):
Yeah, it was an interesting day to day. Adam. I'm
sticking with this Eagles Ravens game. They you know, the Ravens,
their strength has been the run they've done. They've done
a great job on Sakwan today and Jalen's making some plays. Though,
what's going to be the the siding factor for the
rest of this game?
Speaker 11 (56:30):
I would have to say, first of all, turnovers. The
reason why the Eagles have turned their season around, if
you're being two and two, is Jalen has Hurts has
stopped turning the ball over. He struggled last year with it.
He's not putting the ball on the ground. They're taking
what's there. They've killed the Ravens over the middle. That
the Ravens are not communicating well in the back. In fact,
one of the biggest reasons why they've had the worst
secondary in football by yardage and big plays is because
(56:52):
they've tried a lot of different combinations. They're not using
Kyle Helmets in the same way as they have before,
and it's just it's just not working. It's been surprising.
That's something you know, you go to the league, Curry,
you go into the start of the year and you go, Okay, well,
what are we what are we going to see this year? Well,
Mike McDonald leaves, he's now the head coach of Seattle.
You've got a thirty two year old defensive coordinator in
(57:15):
Zach or who's never called a game before and never
called a defense, and there's been growing pains. Now they're
still good football team, but John Harble's gonna have to
look at that after the season. Now, if that's the
reason when they're when they're in the playoffs that they lose,
then John's going to have to may have to make
a decision. Does he want to bring Zach orran Or
back or does he want to just bring a senior
assistant in to help him, Which is, by the way,
(57:35):
the Niners going through this with with Sorenson the first
year defense coordinator, He's got Brandon Staley, former head coaching
defensive coordinator. That's a smart move. I think that's something
that they're gonna have to look at because they're they're
getting killed over the middle tack because Eagles typically hurts
is not like throwing the ball over the middle, and
he's killing them over the middle.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
Today, Adamkablin joining us here on Fox Sports Radio just
to let you know the Saints did go for two
and converted. Dante Peti has caught the conversion pass from
Derek Carr. Yes, Wow, I saw seventeen in the Saints uniform.
When I immediately thought of Robert Meacham. I would have
said that it was so funny.
Speaker 11 (58:11):
I was on the show in the League on FX
and Robert meach and we filmed this in twenty ten.
He was actually part of that show. He was actually
mentioned it's number seventeen. I totally forgot about that until
him till you said it because he was a guy
for fantasy. Would be completely frustrating. Robert Meacham, good call.
Speaker 2 (58:28):
Man, Yeah, thank you very much. The Panthers are on
top of the Buccaneers. As we were saying, what is
the word now about Bryce Young in this second go
around this season?
Speaker 11 (58:38):
Yeah, you know what, you know what talking to quarterbacks
over the years, it's kind of like once you get bench,
it's what else could they do to me? Yeah, and
he's got his second league, so on life. You know,
this is a guy back at Alabama was a supreme
processor last year. He looked scared, he wouldn't pull the trigger.
He looked like he shouldn't be out there for a
lot of the season before the benching. He did, and
(58:59):
then the benching actually it really helped him and he's
staying on schedule. They're given him, by the way, a
high volume of passes today, him lagatter hooking up. He's throwing,
getting feeling back from the hamstering injury, which is key.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
He looks great. This is a good story. You know that.
Speaker 11 (59:13):
No, having Andy Dalton is a backup, I think was
a smart move. Yep, I'm bringing him in last year.
He's back for the less Yerus deal. So I like this.
Look they look better, they're more competitive there now. They
are a long ways away from being good football team.
But no, I'm glad you brought him up. He's playing
much better and it's more under control.
Speaker 3 (59:27):
Thatt's bring up another second year, a sophomore quarterback who
got a big game winning touchdown drive and a two
point conversion to day in Anthony Richardson. I mean, I
know he was still kind of uneven, but you know
the process of him getting better. Where is he looking
right now?
Speaker 6 (59:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (59:41):
And look he's he's making some mistakes, you know, the
turnovers are carry a real problem. But the thing is
he won another game. They're in it. They're they're definitely
in it for this last wild card spot. And look there,
I mean Broncos are you know, they're probably them and
the Cardinals are my two most surprising teams. But they're
hanging in there. We'll see what happens with Denver tomorrow night.
(01:00:03):
But they're hanging in there. And Richardson's getting great. You
know it's coy He's getting great, Carry's getting great experience
in a playoff race. Yes, that is really important for
his future.
Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
Adam Kavilyn joining us here on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
He's Carrie Rhodes. I'm Dan Beyer. You mentioned the firing
of Matt Eberflus earlier. How did it I know how
it got to this point, but I felt that Shane
Waldron's firing was we're gonna fire Waldron and then you've
got to the end of the season Eberflus to sort
(01:00:32):
this out. I don't remember many situations where a coordinator
gets fired and then a few weeks later the head
coach ends up going. We all saw what happened on Thursday.
But what was was was that ultimately the final straw
in this or why is the decision made now and
not maybe four weeks ago? Yeah?
Speaker 11 (01:00:50):
What I was told for the seasons started is that
unless the Bears make the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
He was good.
Speaker 11 (01:00:54):
Eberflus would be out now, as you know, they've they
had never fired a head coach in season in their
one hundred and five years of of existence, and it
was the.
Speaker 2 (01:01:02):
Timing was interesting.
Speaker 11 (01:01:03):
But in my report for a Pro Football network in
the spring, Kevin Warren their new the president who came
from the Big Ten, who used to be with the
Vikings in the Rams. He was also an agent very
early in his football career. He was going to be
heavily involved in football decisions and operations. And he didn't
come back just to be on business operations. That that
was not the only thing he.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
Wanted to do.
Speaker 11 (01:01:24):
He's going to be involved in football and he is.
And him and Ryan Poles, as I was told, was
they were totally on board with this. And I think
they read the room. They read the players are super miserable,
and they I would say from what I heard and
also from the agents, they were very very down on
the players kind of tuned out in Matty Eberfluss that
(01:01:45):
that would be my read on it, you know, to
be honest with you, I'm just being straight here that
that Carrie knows as a player when the players kind
of turn on the head coach when they start not
to I know, they played hard. I mean, obviously this
was a they came back, the almost pulled it off.
Caleb Williams, by the way, with Thomas around being the OC,
he's played much better. Dan answer your question, I think
the players kind of were down on Eberflus and man
(01:02:08):
from everything I heard, they were super pissed off after
the game. If I could say that, well.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
Let's let's pivot from a coach that just got you know,
I guess canned, so to speak, and let's talk about
a coach that has his team in first place in
the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers. They come out and
get a big win on the road in Cincinnati where
they were eight and three. Cincinnati was four and seven,
and they were the underdogs. So let's talk about that
team and talk about what Russell Wilson did today.
Speaker 2 (01:02:32):
For hundred yeah, I.
Speaker 11 (01:02:33):
Could not understand, guys, I could not understand how the
Steelers are an underdog. That made no sense to me.
What look, I rarely criticized odds makers, but to me,
that was just ridiculous. Russell Wilson, for everyone who thought
he was giving up for dead. He's not. Yes, he
was remarkable. I know the Bengals defense is terrible. They've
(01:02:53):
fallen off on the lou Anaromod. It'd done a great
job before the season. But they're just they They're really bad.
They're almost non competitive on defense. It's Joe Burrow, by
the way. I do want to mention this, like he's
having an incredible year, like he's right up there with Mark,
but they're so bad defensively. It's kind of like Deshaun
Watson in twenty twenty, his last good year. He was incredible,
(01:03:17):
but the Texans were not competitive on defense and they
couldn't go any further. So, yeah, the Wilson's the story here.
I'm sure that I know they're not real happy with
their defense, the Steelers, but they've also meet some big plays.
They're right there, folks. I picked them by the way.
They win the AFC North and I'm sticking with it.
Although you know, people people think I was crazy. I
(01:03:37):
still think they're going to get the job done.
Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
They have a heart.
Speaker 11 (01:03:39):
They have a very hard schedule coming up, but they're
a great story.
Speaker 2 (01:03:42):
I'll tell you this. I love to do this on
the show, Kerry knows it. You're ready, Here we go.
Twenty six, thirty eight, twenty four, forty one, thirty seven,
twenty four, thirty five, thirty four and thirty eight. Those
are the amount of points the Bengals defenses. That's embarrassing. Yes,
though you don't thought they were megabucks numbers. That's that's unbelievable. Yeah,
(01:04:04):
that's truly, it's really hard to believe. Why I even
mentioned the sixteen the Patriots scored with Jacoby Brissett and
we won, So I even left that one off the board.
Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
Yeah, Yeah, Adam Kaplan or Fox Sports Radio, NFL Insider
before we let you go, since we were on the
eber flues, any I don't think that we're gonna get
We've already had a couple of you know, head coaching changes,
anything to keep our eye on in this stretch. Run
stay Bowl with the with the Giants. Could that be something,
I mean, obviously Jersey in season, Okay, I'd be.
Speaker 11 (01:04:36):
Shocked if that's done in season, that that they here's
what I think. I dot well that that that I honestly,
and again I'm not trying to get anyone fired. I'm
shocked that that hasn't happened after what happened overseas. Sure, yeah,
you went into your bye and you let Doug coach. Okay,
you know again, I don't want anyone to lose their job.
(01:04:57):
But when again the Jets owner did it, said this
is the best roster they ever had. The Jaguars owner
said it, that's what it is. And there are two
and ten. I mean, that's it's hard to believe. And
they've not been the same since they lost at five
out of six last year.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
He's at a kapelin our Fox Sports Radio NFL AND's
ader Adam have ay Thanksgiving, Tim, you guys game went
to Talk ten week fourteen. Set him up at Kaplan NFL.
He's got his eye on that Eagles Ravens game, also
on that Saints Rams game as we do, getting down
to the nitty gritty, and the Buccaneers have turned the
ball over again. For the latest on these three games
(01:05:36):
where everything stands and so much more, Let's go over
to the news desk. Manci Belanios here with the latest
on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio Live for the Tiraq
dot com studios. What's going on, Manci? Hi? Hi?
Speaker 7 (01:05:52):
Sorry? Can you hear me.
Speaker 8 (01:05:53):
Sorry, sorry, There's a lot going on, like Baker Mayfield
just through an interception, and so the Panthers have the
ball basically in the red zone and they're up on
the Buccaneers thirteen to ten with four minutes to go
in the third quarter. Who would have thought that the
Buccaneers would be in this situation, especially with the Falcons
losing earlier today, You think Tampa would have come out swinging.
(01:06:14):
But it's Bryce Young and the Panther is coming out
swinging right now. The Rams are coming alive in the
second half. I mentioned earlier that they were shut out
in the first half for the first time this season.
Matthew Stafford connected with DeMarcus Robinson, but the Saints have responded.
Derek Carr connected with Marcus Valdez scanting. Then they went
for a successful two point conversion. So it's a tie
game between the Rams and the Saints in New Orleans,
(01:06:35):
fourteen fourteen, nine minutes to go in.
Speaker 7 (01:06:37):
The game, the Eagles Ravens game.
Speaker 8 (01:06:39):
Right now, Eagles are on top fourteen to twelve to twelve,
two and a half minutes to go in the third.
It looks like it was an incomplete pass right, I
didn't miss anything, right, there was no interception or anything. Okay,
incomplete pass from Lamar Jackson, but Ravens still have the
ball there at Philadelphia's thirty eight yard line, still to
come forty nine ers and bills. According to Jordan Schultz,
(01:07:00):
Fox Insider, Bill's ricky wide receiver Keon Coleman questionable with
the risk injury, he's gonna be out officially, missing his
third straight game. They may be out another wide receiver
because Matt Collins.
Speaker 7 (01:07:10):
There's a video of him. He showed up barefoot, barefoot,
you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
There's a snow storm I've never understood.
Speaker 8 (01:07:17):
So he may not even be playing because of frostbite.
Speaker 7 (01:07:20):
Y'all, Like, what are we doing?
Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (01:07:22):
But the officially no Keon Coleman.
Speaker 8 (01:07:25):
Also not to bring up the Michigan Ohio State game,
but the Big Ten has fined both schools one hundred
thousand dollars each for what happened after the game.
Speaker 7 (01:07:35):
In a statement, they said that they.
Speaker 8 (01:07:36):
Feel like the matter is concluded. They have no further comment.
They don't plan to suspend players, and they don't have
any individual disciplines being handed out by them at this time.
So that is the latest between that game and that's
it back to you.
Speaker 7 (01:07:53):
Didn't mean to end it there, but here we are.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
This is one thing you need to know. MANCI never
end the update with the death. Very difficult. Yeah, and
and that was that was close to it.
Speaker 7 (01:08:04):
That Yeah, yeah, you know, mabbe all.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Good, all good. I never understood why NFL players wear
no shirts and when it's below zero. I don't understand
the toughness.
Speaker 7 (01:08:19):
It's not it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
You ever do that? Carry you ever go out into
the Uh you're where you're playing on the road in Foxborough.
You know it's gonna be cold, so let me warm
up with no shirt on. That makes zero sense, No, no,
and not a chance.
Speaker 3 (01:08:33):
I we played in Green Bay it was negative four,
playing against Brett Farv and those guys and our running,
our backup, running back beat. They ask you went out
no shirt on? I almost slapped him because I was like,
what are you doing? And Tucker misses another field goal. Again,
it's pandemonium in Baltimore.
Speaker 2 (01:08:52):
Gosh, you could kick for Ohio State.
Speaker 11 (01:08:56):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
This was from distance, but.
Speaker 8 (01:08:59):
Still it's still he used to be automatic from distance.
Speaker 2 (01:09:03):
Yes, that is not the case anymore. Wow. The nine
lives of the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, do you and I
like the Ravens today? Run away with it? Justin Tucker's
doing everything he can to prevent that from keeping it clothes?
Tucker keeping it clothes man, Thank you very much, Monts
anything else, anything else?
Speaker 8 (01:09:21):
No, No, Chargers won.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
Yeah, the Chargers the Falcons today, they did win. Is
it Michael Pennock's time in Atlanta?
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
Are we gonna talk about that now or later? What
do you feel we can? We can talk about it now.
We'll talk about it now.
Speaker 2 (01:09:35):
Yeah, we got a little time.
Speaker 3 (01:09:36):
Absolutely not. It's not Pennis time yet. I mean, they're
still in the playoffs. They're still in the driver's seat
of that division. They're in first place. Looks like Carolina's
struggling here right now, so, I mean Tampa Bay struggling
here right now. So, I mean, I think it's it's
as long as they are in the playoff point. I
don't think there will be a quarterback change.
Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
You don't think that Pennicks should be an upgrade from
Kirk Cousins, who again through four interceptions.
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
It's not right now, I'm not sure. I don't And
if they haven't thought about that, themselves. I don't think
they're sure either, Mike. I'll tell you what.
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
It was brought up during the game and I laughed
it off, and then I saw a couple of the interceptions,
and it was the third one that made me think,
when you just threw it up into the end zone. Yeah,
and there were three chargers that could have picked it
off and they didn't. And this was also, by the way,
after the Falcons were there's nine minutes left, It's a
(01:10:32):
four point game, that could kick the field goal and
gotten within one, but they decided to go for it
and go for it again, and then they don't get
any points out of it. And I feel like it's
karma in that way where I don't know Raheem Morris
did this against the Chiefs again, just they don't even
when they get it, they convert the fourth down doesn't
(01:10:53):
always mean it's the exact right call. And that is
the scenario that plays out today that proves my point is, yeah,
you get the first down, but instead of having three points,
he end up with zero. Take the points. Yes, in
a nine minute game, like I understand, when you've been
moving the football at least have been able to move
(01:11:13):
the football. Ryan Berschinger gave Bejhon Robinson stats earlier today
and the day that he ended up having. When you're
moving the football, you can do that. You got your
indoors young way. KU's got a strong enough leg. You
could kick another field goal if you need to win it.
I don't understand the bypassing of it. Yeah, then it
puts them in a bad situation. And the next thing
you know, Kirk Cousins has four interceptions because he has
(01:11:35):
to throw one up.
Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
At the end exactly you had. That last one was
just he had to try to make a play. But
that third one, I agree with you, that was a
bad one. He just threw it up in the middle
of the end zone. It was like, what are you doing?
Like you don't get three in that one either is
It's like, come on, man.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
The Vike the excuse me to the Vikings. The Falcons
have the Vikings next week and Kirk Cousins return to Minnesota. Nice.
You wouldn't do that to Kirk Cousins. You went and
bench him this week and then not have him play
that game. After that. You got the Raiders, Giants, Commanders,
and Panthers. Those are all winnable football games, and three
(01:12:10):
out of the four are games you should win. The
Commander's game would be the toss up to me. But
when you're in maybe Washington favored in that game because
it is in DC. It's just the point of if
Kirk Cousins is turning the ball over as much as
he is, it may not be the craziest thing in
the world to think that your rookie quarterback could come
(01:12:33):
in there and provide a spark or take care of
the ball because Kirk Cousins is who Kirk Cousins is.
I don't know if you're in that meeting and you're
Zach Robinson, the offensive coordinator, and you're saying, all right,
we need to dial it back. He is who he is.
That's what Kirk Cousins. That's what you brought him in
to do. I don't know if it would be the
worst thing in the world.
Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
I'll say two things really quickly about that. Number one,
for monetary reasons, he won't be benched. Okay, number two.
Number two, right, he is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
We know who he is. We know who Kirk Cousins is.
Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
But watching him today because I had the pleasure of
watching that game, because that's the only game I had.
Speaker 2 (01:13:10):
He cannot move in a pocket.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
He is a station He is a stationary as it gets,
and so when things are off platform or not in sync,
he's not good at all.
Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
Who Gnakua into the end zone extra point is good?
Rams up on the Saints twenty one to fourteen, Still
fourteen to twelve in favor of the Eagles over the Ravens,
and Carolina has headed a field goal now sixteen to
ten lead against Tampa Bay. Will let you know the
status of Baker Mayfield and what happens when the Bucks
take the field on offense. But coming up next' gonna
take a look at your fantasy numbers from week thirteen
(01:13:42):
in the NFL. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. That's
next year on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:13:47):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:13:49):
Radio, Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's carry Rhoads. I'm
Dan Byer. Three games going on right now in the NFL,
including in Baltimore where the Eagles of a fourteen two
lead on the Ravens twelve fifty four to go, Baltimore
just converting on a first down getting out to their
own thirty nine yard line. Buccaneers at Panthers. My apologies
to Manti Blanios who did mention Baker Mayfield return to
(01:14:10):
the game. He is back in for Tampa Bay and
now the Buccaneers are driving in the red zone facing
a second and seven from the Panthers nineteen yard line,
ten minutes left, and it's Carolina with a sixteen to
ten lead in that affair, while the Rams are up
on the Saints twenty one to fourteen, two forty one
to go, and the Saints have just lost. Taysom Hill
(01:14:31):
needed to be carted off after suffering an apparent leg injury.
So that is a tough blow for the New Orleans offense.
So now Derek Carr will try to rally the troops
without their Swiss Army knife, if you will, in Taysom
Hill for the rest of the game. So key in
short yardage situations for them, and now it appears to
be a significant injury as he was carted off. Did
(01:14:53):
give a thumbs up to the fans, but didn't need
a cart to be taken from the field. So Taysom
Hill out and Elvin Kamaro takes a first down carry
down to about the thirteen yard line. All right, he
is carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Beyer Buccaneers converting on a
third and six down to the Carolina six yard line,
where it'll be first in goal in a six point game.
Let's take a look at some fantasy numbers with Ryan Berschinger.
(01:15:14):
All right, bursch what do you got?
Speaker 10 (01:15:15):
Well, let's focus in on these three games here and
let's go game by game two. Look at some hits
and misses so far from the late window. Starting with
this Eagles Ravens game, which so far in terms of
fantasy production has been a letdown. Fourteen to twelve Eagles
Ravens charging with the ball right now on the Eagle side.
Some hits there. Aj Brown five catches on six targets
(01:15:35):
for sixty six yards. Dallas got her two catches for
twenty six yards and a touchdown. Notice I'm not saying
Saquon Barkley though in the hits, because Saquon falls into
the misses at the moment. Eleven carries for forty four
yards on the ground. Two catches for ten yards on
four targets through the age.
Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
You know Justice Hill is doing because he an enemy
from the Guillotine League. Last week see a Maazi Bolano. So,
and of course, I bet you Justice Hill has like
three carries for six yards, probably right about, and a
couple of catches probably yeah, or one catch probably almost there.
Speaker 10 (01:16:11):
Let's yeah, let's look at the Ravens side. Let's start
in the missus. Sure, Justice Hill three carries six yards,
as you said.
Speaker 2 (01:16:17):
Was it all right? Yeah?
Speaker 10 (01:16:18):
Exactly, But he does have four catches for fifteen yards.
Four catches, yeah, yeah, there you go. Some hits for
the Ravens. Dereck Henry so far seventeen for seventy three.
Not really a hit though, because two catches for twenty
six yards, so he's close to one hundred yards total,
but hasn't gotten into the end zone just yet. Lamar's
got to eighteen of twenty seven passing for two hundred
three yards and a touchdown through the air. Zay Flowers
(01:16:41):
three catches seventy four yards on five targets. Mark Andrews
five catches, sixty yards and a touchdown through the air.
So now let's take a look at this Rams Saints game.
On the Rams side. First off, some hits here. I
was scared, you guys saw the first quarter. Blake Koram
is getting every touch out of the backfield. Yeah, he
was the entirety of the first quarter. Kyrien Williams didn't
(01:17:02):
see the field and I thought, oh no, the time
has finally come, But no it hasn't. Kyrien Williams has
fourteen carries, ninety three yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Blake Korum for good measure, eight carries for forty two yards.
Puka and Akua the leading receiver for the Rams thus far.
Five catches fifty six yards and a touchdown. So misses
though for the Rams Cooper Cup three catches on six
targets for only seventeen yards on the Saint side of
(01:17:24):
the ball. Yeah, Taysom Hill. This is going to disappoint
a lot of fantasy owners because the Rizzler, Darren Rizzy
has been very high on Tasom Hill, but unfortunately has
been carted off and that'll end his day. Five carries
or ten yards on the ground. Five catches on seven
targets for thirty seven yards. Marcos Valdez scantling though, has
gotten into the end zone yet again for the Saints.
(01:17:45):
So he has two catches thirty six yards in the
touchdown today. He continues to be a deep threat in
that offense, which is pretty wild. Twenty one carries one
hundred and eight yards for Alvin Kamara thus far on
the ground. And now to wrap things up here Bucks Panthers,
which the Bucks only have a one point lead in
this game. Rough day for Baker Mayfield. You think he'd
do better against the Panthers Fourteen to twenty five for
(01:18:05):
one hundred and forty nine yards, a touchdown, two interceptions.
He did get roughed up at one point in this game.
Kyle Trask had to come in for a couple of snaps.
Bucky Irving though, great day on the ground, nineteen carries
eighty eight yards and a touchdown. Also three catches for
thirty three yards through the air. Some misses though on
the Buck side because Bucky Irving's getting all that rushing numbers.
Rashad White six carries for thirty five yards on the ground,
(01:18:27):
only one catch for two yards for Rashad White and
Kateatten three catches thirteen yards. Nothing going there. Another hit
though Mike Evans five catches seventy yards and a touchdown
on the Panthers side. Really quick here. No real hits
to say for the Panthers, but Chuba Hubbard, I would
say is a miss and this is something to watch here.
Chuba Hubbard today nine carries thirty four yards, not much
(01:18:49):
going on the ground. Jonathan Brooks finally getting involved in
this offense, six carries for eighteen yards on the ground,
but he does have three catches for twenty three yards
on three targets.
Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
That's because Jonathan Brooks last week made his debut and
everybody was like Jonathan Brooks in the lineup. And then
Sheba Hubbard goes and scores and has this great day
against the Chiefs, all while he's on my bench for
the league, and Moncy is still alive in those are
your fantasy from the lake. There are people who say,
you know what, I want you to go on and
win the title. Since you beat me, you knocked me out,
(01:19:21):
I want you to win it all. That is not
how I feel at all, Moncy. I would like you
to be eliminated this week.
Speaker 8 (01:19:27):
I'm not going to be though, because of a guy
named brock Bauers.
Speaker 2 (01:19:30):
She's got the highest points this week.
Speaker 7 (01:19:32):
I do so.
Speaker 2 (01:19:33):
Now she's riding this momentum, yes right into the into
the playoffs in the very very near future. See I
could say that if you were actually chopped, I wouldn't
say that. I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I wouldn't wish bad
on you. Why would you play Justice Hill? Don't get
me sorry? Oh man, Hey, I you know, I think
(01:19:54):
Harmon had a legitimate question, you know, because of yes,
I know, insider trader going on? What was going on?
Oh Man, I agree, I agree with Mike, and I'll
tell you what it sealed my fate. I was chopped.
As lob City continues to roll on. All right, the
extra point, Yeah it was city. That that's Maazi's team names.
(01:20:17):
Seventeen to sixteen. Bucks lead the Panthers Saints trying to
score on a fourth and three. We'll tell you if
they cash in with the minute left next year on
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:20:32):
All right, here's where we stand in this late window.
You just heard Monzi tell you that Sakuon Barkley took
it to the house of twenty five yards out. Extra
point was good. Now it's a two possession game in Baltimore,
Eagles on top of the Ravens, and what would be
one of the more impressive victories I think we've seen
in the NFL this season. The Buccaneers just converted a
(01:20:53):
third and three and now have a first intend at
their own forty one yard line, five twenty one to go. Oh,
they're holding on to a one point lead against the
Carolina Panthers seventeen to sixteen. Both teams have all three
of their timeouts. And congrats to Sean McVay seventy six,
seventy sixth regular season win as a Rams head coach.
(01:21:17):
That's the most enfranchised history, passing John Robinson who recently
passed away, but Sean McVay most wins for a Rams
head coach when it comes to regular season victories. We
are broadcasting live from the Tairaq dot com studios tierraq
dot com. We'll help you get there. An unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, Free road has a protection in over
(01:21:37):
ten thousand recommended installers tirec dot com the way tire
buying should be. I think, because we look at Sean
McVay and say, he is so young, he's gonna have
so many more wins to add, I'm not so sure
about that. I think he's destined for TV yes at
some point, and we'll have to see on how far
the fire burns. But I'm a Seahawks fan, and honestly,
(01:21:59):
Sean McGan is one of my favorite coaches in the
National Football League. Being a rival, you know, it's like
one of those I think. I think Mike Tomlin gets
that same sort of respect, you know, where you just
you're like, okay, I wouldn't mind if he was my
head coach. I feel the same way about Sean McVay,
uh like myself, and many do about Tomlin as well.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Yeah, yeah, McVay is is definitely seems like it's really
cool to play with, and so when you see it
from the you know, from that perspective, it looks like
a player's coach. Obviously, he's young, and he's got a
lot of energy, and he's in the mix. He's very
much in tune with with the with the game.
Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
I love Tomlin's arrogance because it is it is because
it's not it's it's an arrogance based in reality, and
I wouldn't I'm not saying Mike Tomlin is arrogant. There's
a confidence about him that is so striking. I think
that Sean McVay has a lot of reasons to be
(01:22:57):
arrogant and isn't and that is appealing.
Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
The crazy thing about Mike, I see it more as stoism,
you know what I mean, Yeah, I see it that way.
Speaker 5 (01:23:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:07):
Then you know, it's like a it is confidence. It
is a a level of been there, done that that
he he seems to carry himself with and it is
kind of it's and it's cool.
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
I think it's cool. Yeah, I think it is.
Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
And then you see McVeigh he's so like he is,
he has that, he has that stoicism as well. He's there,
but he's a little bit more exuberant with his with
his demeanor as well, and it's it's cool to see
that as well.
Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
Yeah, he's got a good personality. Kyle Shanahan I think
sometimes ropes people the wrong way talking about other coaches
from that that coaching tree. Yeah, Matt Lafleur is a
nice guy. I don't think he has the pizazz of
Sean McDaniels as well. Yeah, yeah, he's he really does
like Mike McDaniel. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, But there's something about
McVeigh and the confidence and just the football junkie that
(01:23:54):
that he is that that I really really enjoy. All Right,
The Buccaneers are looking to cash it in right now.
Now second and four. They had a big run broken
down to about the five yard line. I believe it
was Bucky Irving that took it down to the five,
and now they are inside the two yard line were
shot White is into the game for Tampa Bay. So
(01:24:15):
seventeen to sixteen, all three timeouts remaining again for both teams,
but now three thirteen left to go, and I think
the oh, the clock just stopped because there's a helmet
off the field Ravens and Eagles. Right now, the Ravens
are facing a fourth and eight right and they're down nine.
And this is where the conversation entering the game. I
(01:24:37):
don't think it's a real conversation, this MVP showdown that
we are having. Yeah, but if you're gonna have it,
I think that one Saquon Barkley proved is worth just
on the last carry for what we've had here. Lamar
Jackson facing a fourth and eight with the Ravens offense
at their on forty two yard line, six twenty to go,
(01:24:57):
and they are going for it in this cinate as
Lamar looks downfield and ends up having it knocked away
probably a better case scenario than if it would have
been intercepted, because now the Eagles takeover in Ravens territory,
nine point lead, six minutes left to go.
Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
Yeah, it's been a dominant I mean, the Eagles defense
in the second half have been really good. They've had
this bend but don't break attitude. They've let Baltimore move
the ball down the field a little bit. And obviously
this is a different game. If Justin Tucker makes his
field goals even right now he missed three, it'd be
a tie game right now. But the way that they've
played defense, they're playing like this umbrella defense. So they're
(01:25:38):
forcing Lamar to be patient. They're not giving up the
big play, and so that's why we see some of
this going up and down the field, but they're getting
stalled in the red zone. Great game plan by Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
And Rashad White of the Buccaneers was just stuffed on
a third and one. Curious play call for this reason
is but needs to score a touchdown here. They're up one,
you get a touchdown, you can go for two and
make it a nine point game and end this. I
know they're thinking is let's run more clock. Clock's not
(01:26:11):
your enemy right now. The Panthers are still your enemy.
The scoreboards your enemy. There's three minutes left, Carolina has
all three time outs. They ran a short yardage play.
I'm surprised that they ran it with Rashad White like
they did, and they ended up losing about four yards
on the play. So now it's a fourth and sixth
and Tapa's gonna have to settle for a field goal
to make it a four point game with three h
eight left to go. Carolina actually just used their second timeout,
(01:26:35):
so they did use one earlier, so they're down to
one timeout. But still that's a lot of time. I
don't have, honestly, Carrie, I don't even know if they
needed to use their timeout in that scenario. I would
have if I'm Carolina, I maybe would have just let
the clock run. And then you have it down to
about two minutes and in twenty seconds you have two timeouts.
(01:26:56):
That's plenty of time to go and drive down the
field and score a game winning touchdown. Oh yeah, for sure.
Speaker 3 (01:27:00):
I mean the mentality of a head coach, they know
what they're going to do in that situation. So I'm
sure they probably talked about it, but yeah, they didn't
have to.
Speaker 2 (01:27:08):
Yeah, head coaches always know what's going on, like in situations.
Definitely in the National Football Game, I said I have
a plan. I didn't. Yeah, all right, so I will
get into eber Flus in a second. A lot of
stuff to touch on. But in this MVP thing, do
you buy that this was an MVP showcase for Lamar Jackson,
(01:27:31):
Derrick Henry and whoever comes out on top is your
front runner for the MVP.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
No, because every week we say there's a new front runner.
So if that's the case, then this will just be
the next iteration of that. But again, it's always good
for football fodder to talk about that. I mean, you
got three guys that are potential candidates in this game
and playing off and scoring off against each other. So yes,
it's great for TV talk, great for radio talk. But again,
(01:27:56):
whoever wins, whoever has a good game this game, still
has a the rest of the season and continue the momentum.
Speaker 2 (01:28:01):
So no, I don't. It's the way that the Eagles
have have relied on Saquon Barkley lately, and again I
do think it is a direct reflection of Devonte Smith
not being available because you don't have that other target,
so you really do need to lean heavy on the run.
And Jalen Hurts on a third and one ends up
getting very close to the first down. Again, a massive
(01:28:22):
humanity on the brotherly shove. So we'll have to see
if the Eagles get a new set of downs or not.
The Buccaneers did make their field goal, so it's a
twenty to sixteen game with three h five left to
go in Charlotte, So Bryce Young is going to have
an opportunity to write his own Let's go win it, Bryce, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
he's got an opportunity to Right now, they're gonna say
that Jalen Hurts was short, so it's going to bring
(01:28:43):
up a fourth and inches. You're up nine five to
twenty one to go. You know you're gonna go for it,
Yeah for sure if you're if you're Philadelphia. What I
do wonder is are there going to be more variations
off of this or will they just continue to do
it like this? Like would you line up Ohio State
did something similar yesterday in the game against Michigan where
(01:29:05):
they then just handed it off and went around the
left end in that case here, or is there no
need for Philadelphia to ever vary from this because the
main goal is to just get that half yard.
Speaker 3 (01:29:15):
I don't think they will, but I'm sure they have
something in their back pocket for sure, But I don't
see why they would do it. It works if they're
going for a big touchdown player or something out of it,
then yes, but that's not why they do it. They
do it to maintain these drives and run the clock
out and win the game. So I think I don't
think we will.
Speaker 2 (01:29:35):
The kickoff for the to the Carolina Panthers did not
follow the landing zone, and so now the Panthers actually
start to drive on their own forty yard line, so
they only have sixty yards to go, plenty of time,
two fifty to go in counting. You had a two
minute warning and you have a timeout, but the Panthers
(01:29:56):
unable to get anything going on first down, now have
a second and down as the clock continues to run.
Surprising stat that I did not know that Carrie Rhades
just saw on TV as well that Bryce Young as
four career winning drives. I didn't know you had four
career wins. Yeah, yeah, that was I was surprised. Maybe
he does. Maybe that's all of them, but they were
all covered behind because they have not led too much.
(01:30:20):
But the Panthers are going to face it down at
about third and two, and the Eagles end up getting
their first down, so it's a fresh set of downs
at the thirty yard line of Baltimore and the clock
continues to run in Baltimore with the Eagles up nine
in that game. All right, so let's talk about Matt
Eberflus getting his pink slip on Friday. As we spoke
with Adam Kaplan, I was shocked at the timing of it,
(01:30:42):
just for the fact of not that what happened on
Thursday didn't warrant it, but I felt your big move
was made with Shane Waldron as your offensive coordinator, and
that then tells me that the Bears really just misjudged
their locker room and it wasn't just Shane Waldron that
was the problem. And now you have. Honestly, that game
on Thursday is going to be the highest or the
(01:31:03):
second most watched regular season game of the NFL the season.
So everybody saw on display the male practice that the
Bears put forth on that field. But I just am
surprised that they didn't stick to their guns and they
just felt something had to be done now. No matter
how awful that was, I still thought he was going
to see through the rest of the season.
Speaker 3 (01:31:23):
Yeah, no, I agree. I thought that he would get
through the through the season. I knew this was going
to be in for him. I think a lot of
people did. But I mean for that Thanksgiving Day, like
you said, so many people saw it. My little godson
was watching. It was like call time out. So you know,
like when it gets to that point, it's like, yeah,
it's really bad. But yeah, I mean, I don't know
(01:31:44):
what you do right here. I mean, obviously hopefully they
get a spark from this. Ebra Fluz definitely does not
have those guys prepared, and I mean, it sucks to
be fired in the middle of the season, but it
was gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Adam Kaplan said that they tuned out that the team
to doubt and that's what That's what I was just
shocked about, was that, how do you not know, like
because it's not just a week span, it's been it's
been a while, and I know these these these losses
have been heartbreakers from the commanders to Green Bay to
(01:32:16):
what we saw against the Lions. Heck, even the Vikings
game was a tough one for them even in that scenario.
But to now think that that was the case unless
the if they just did it for for optics, I
guess kudos to them. But then that also shows that
maybe the front office, like we thought, isn't as well
run as it would perceive to be. And I don't
(01:32:37):
know they're going to pay a lot of money for
whoever is the next coach. So all these names that
we hear, you know, popping up, and something that I
would even have said is I thought that it would
be one of the most appealing jobs. Yeah, if they
don't want to pay anybody, they're not going to get
a top level candidate. So you could put all the
names that you want and target them to Chicago, But
it's up to the Bears to actually pay for a
(01:32:59):
head coach. Oh yeah, you gotta.
Speaker 3 (01:33:00):
You're gonna have to sell out some Ducats to get
a to get a really good coach in there, And
if they're gonna try to bargain around that, then that
franchise will never get back to where they once was.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
You have to do that. These carry roads. I'm dan

(01:33:30):
So here we are with the Carolina Panthers. It's third
and three, two minute warning. They're at their own forty
seven yard line. Egos facing a first and ten at
the Ravens twenty yard line, up nine in that contest,
and the Panthers do get a fresh set of downs,
so it is a first down for Carolina. We're just
gonna keep it here. Let's just let's just flow with
(01:33:52):
these games. Carry right now because we've got the Egos
working clock that's already down to two thirty five and
counting in. The Ravens are out of timeouts in a
nine point game. Well, Carolina is trying to trying to
go for the go ahead score and Bryce Young is
now connected for a pass to David Moore for about
(01:34:12):
nine yards, so they're down to about the forty one
yard line. Minute twenty two all the time in the
world for Carolina, no need for them to rush.
Speaker 3 (01:34:19):
Yeah, Bryce is definitely gonna have a chance to win
this game. I mean that Philly Ravens game. It's over
when the Eagles get you in this situation where it's
ground and pound and they just they're trying to run
the clock out. They usually do that very well, so
I think that's there. But yeah, with this Carolina game
and Tampa Bay, you said something. Tampa Bay got really
(01:34:41):
conservative and didn't really run a play to score touchdown,
end up kicking the field goal, and now Carolina has
a chance to, you know, possibly.
Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Win it with a game, win a touchdown. I understand
wanting to be physical and in a short yardage scenario,
but I think that Carolina thought you were probably going
to run, So that's why I would have passed the ball,
and passing the ball on having you score the touchdown
is more imperative because of the lead that you got. Instead, Yeah,
(01:35:10):
you kept the clock running or forced them to use
a timeout, but they also then held you to a
field goal because of the loss of yardage that they
were ready to play for. That's where I think Tampa
misjudged it Chuba Hubbard gets a first down on a
third and short, stretching across the forty down to the
thirty nine yard line. So now there's fifty seconds in counting.
Now you're gonna have to start to look for a
(01:35:30):
little bit more of the chunk yardages. Bryce Young just
throws it out of bounds. You only have one time
out left. You don't need to run a kicking team
on the field because you need a touchdown for this situation.
But I'm just in that chunk yardage sort of play. Actually,
you know what if they get a chunk yardage play here,
if you get twenty yards here, I'm not even sure
(01:35:52):
I would call the timeout at that point. Yeah, absolutely,
or you could you could have a play called. You're
at the thirty nine yard line. It's not like you're
running all the way downfield. Plus Tampa has all three
of their timeouts. You wouldn't want to leave twenty five
seconds for them on the clock, you know, in a
scenario where they could maybe tie the game on a
field goal if you end up if you end up
(01:36:12):
scoring your touchdown here. So there are a couple of
different things to look at. And now Carolina is down
to about the twenty five yard line. Yeah. See, there's
no need for them to call a time out at
this point, even though they just did. I think they
just did there. What is This is why I'm not
an NFL head coach. I wouldn't have done it, not yet.
I would have spiked it as well. You go up
(01:36:35):
there in that scenario, I here's here's the reason. Here's
the reason why. And so they just gained fifteen yards,
So they're at the twenty five yard line where they are.
The run up time to this would be almost a
little bit shorter than let's say they got twenty yards
(01:36:57):
on the next playing down to the five yard line.
I would love to have all of my different options
reasons to see. And there's still thirty six seconds here. Now,
if you go here, everything is hurried, everything is rushed,
you still have twenty five more yards to go. It's
the only reason I would have been fine with running
up there and spiking it, having thirty seconds here and
having another timeout, having second down, or even just a
(01:37:18):
play call if there was another play called in the huddle,
or running up and running that same play. But they
chose to use the timeout in that scenario, we'll see
if it ends up biting them. I don't think they're
going to run out of time, but they just may
not have enough time to run as many plays as
they would have hoped because of the lack of a
timeout in this situation. And Bryce Young don't think it matters, Dan,
it does not matter. Carry r Us just called it.
(01:37:42):
Adam Thalen touchdown reception. Wow, they just took me and
just said, Dan, you don't know what you're talking about.
You are an idiot. But I will say, there's thirty
seconds still left down of the clock here. Yes, So
in that scenario, Dan, Bryce Young, the comeback kid, could
(01:38:05):
be his fifth come from behind touchdown or come from
behind victory of his career. But he left thirty seconds
left in this game. And by the way, Caroline's going
to make the extra point. Eddie Pinniaro has not been
guaranteed of anything in this game so far with field goals.
The extra point is good. It's good. So it's a
(01:38:25):
twenty three to twenty ball game, all right, Panthers up
on the Buccaneers thirty seconds left to go. Tampa does
have all three of their timeouts, but man Adam Thielen
was wide open. How does Adam Thielen get wide open?
He'd be one of the guys I'd want to know
to make sure I knew where he was on the field.
Speaker 3 (01:38:45):
Look at Bryce Young, the Moxi's stepping up in the pocket,
climbing the pocket. I mean Adam Thieland's running right wide
open down the middle of the field.
Speaker 2 (01:38:52):
And the play was made by to your point, Carrie,
Bryce Young keeping the play alive with his legs. And
so Carolina has now taken a lead on the Buccaneers
twenty three to twenty. As for the Eagles Ravens game,
Jake Elliott on the field for a field goal and
it was just blocked. It would have made it a
(01:39:14):
twelve point game. There is a flag on the field.
There's a minute seven left. I don't know if anybody
was off sides, but there is a flag on the field.
But the Eagles able to wear down the clock and
run out the clock for that matter. So the Panthers
nine plays sixty yards over two thirty five. You want
to know something unique about Carolina and I read this
(01:39:37):
and I've been trying to confirm it throughout the show.
But this is their twelfth game of the year. It's
their twelfth different uniform combination. No, they have not worn
the same uniform combination twice this year. It has been
a different mix of today was gray helmet or silver
(01:39:59):
hell black jersey, blue pants. They've had a bunch of
different looks, but it's their twelfth different look of the year.
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
We gotta do something. You gotta win at something, you
got to win at being the color combination came and
they got the title for now.
Speaker 2 (01:40:15):
I heard someone say that they have become the Oregon
of the NFL. I saw that on social media, and
that is correct. It was offsides on Philadelphia or was
it neutral zone in fraction? That was like five weeks ago,
fourth and seven for Philadelphia. They kicked the field goal.
It's not twenty four to twelve, So the Ravens will
have about a minute three to try to make up
(01:40:36):
the twelve point definite.
Speaker 3 (01:40:37):
So the Eagles did what I said the Ravens are
going to do to them. To the Ravens, they're up
by double digits. So funny how you think you know
sports and you think you know situations and games and then.
Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
Sure this happens. Well, the Buccaneers have gotten in to
about the forty five yard line. Baker Mayfield has hit
Mike Evans. I am so rooting for Baker Mayfield to
make me look somewhat smart at least. Listen. All I'm
gonna say is this, I want a field goal attempt.
If there's an attempt of a field goal. That I
(01:41:07):
was right in how things were being played throughout this scenario.
I just didn't think Carolina should have used their time
out at that point. It did set up their touchdown
pass game winning touchdown pass, yep, but I thought they
could have used more clock. This allows Baker Mayfield and
the Buccaneers to have an opportunity to go pull even
now you need what fifteen more yards? They're a ball
(01:41:30):
at their own forty six a little bit more than that.
It's cooler in Charlotte, cold weather. You're hitting the Midwest
and the East coast, so night game, you're gonna need to,
I think, get a little bit closer. If you're Tampa Bay,
want to get down to about the thirty five yard
line is an area They have the field goal range
at the forty but I'd rather get to about the
thirty five yard line. Mike Evans was down to the
(01:41:52):
thirty five yard line, but the pass went off of
his fingertips. Nineteen seconds left to go. I know we're
long here on the break, but we just want to
keep it here. With the Panthers and Buccaneers in this
tight affair, it's Mike. There is no Chris Godwin. Godwin's
out for the year, so it's Mike Evans and Mike Evans.
Even though Sterling Shepherd had a big catch before, it
(01:42:13):
was Evans that got them near midfield. We'll see how
Tampa answers. The good thing also for Tampa in this
scenario is that you do have two timeouts, which would
allow you to get that kicking unit on the field.
You could use the middle of the field if you
get down far enough. Baker Mayfield is pressured. Almost looks
like you got a face mask, and I was going
to run for the sideline and get out of bounds,
(01:42:36):
and he may just coming up a little bit gingerly
in that fashion, but able to scramble. I think you
reached for the first down. Not that it's a huge deal. However,
if you get the first down here, at least you
know that you don't have to necessarily get it for sure.
On one of these next two plays. So they have
(01:42:56):
marked Baker Mayfield on the scramble out had just passed.
He did stick the ball past the first down line,
and so it is first and ten at the forty
three yard line, eleven seconds left to go. This is
where you look in the middle of the field and
call time out. Yeah, you can do whatever and just yeah.
Instead they look to the sidelines. They get it to
(01:43:17):
Sterling Shepherd. They got to kick it now, yeah, they
can call time out, and they did. He stayed in
bounce forward progress was stopped. So there's four seconds left
and still a field go here. I'll tell you what.
I'm vindicated Chase McLoughlin going onto the field career long
fifty seven yards. But this was the reason why I
(01:43:39):
would have let time off the clock a little bit more,
just because of this attempt.
Speaker 5 (01:43:44):
Dan.
Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
They're not that good.
Speaker 3 (01:43:46):
They got to score when they can score, so yeah,
so yes, yes, but.
Speaker 2 (01:43:53):
I know that you'll say there. The timeout allowed them
to set up the play that they ran. But it
was Bryce Young's elusiveness that allowed him to break free
and catch a streaking Adam Feelen running across the field
wide open. Feeland just called for the football and and
Bryce Young put it on the number. Oh, they're trying
one more play here. They've got one time out with
(01:44:14):
six seconds left, so it's down to the thirty eight
yard line. Quick slant the Shepherd and he does get
the reception down to the thirty three.
Speaker 3 (01:44:22):
Wow, there's no way I'm letting him catch it. You guys,
I mean you gotta get really close, like you know,
they're just trying to get underneath and get a couple
more yards.
Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
That's that's what about if you put a move on
you and he chucks it down field. Yes, yeah, go
for it and take guts and Baker Mayfield to throw
that football. So if Carolina doesn't have a timeout, so
we're gonna get the field goal right here. Chase McLoughlin
as Tampa lines up to try to tie this game
(01:44:51):
at twenty three apiece. The ball at the thirty three
yard line, so it's about a fifty fifty one. Yeah,
let's see where they It looks like they're gonna be
marking at the fifty one yardfield goal. As Carry Roads said,
he is six for seven this season. Is Chase McLoughlin
from fifty to fifty nine yards this descended it overtime
(01:45:14):
in Charlotte. There's no wind. Let's see what happens. And
the snap is good and the kick is straight through
the middle, and it is good, and we are headed
to overtime. He's Carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. We need
a time out on Fox Sports Red Zone Radio.
Speaker 4 (01:45:33):

Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
Live linfrothetire Rack dot com studios. He's Carry Roads. I'm
Dan Byer. It's Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. The Buccaneers
won the toss to start overtime, so they've got the
football and they are driving down in a tie game
against Carolina. It's a final at Baltimore. Lamar Jackson did
throw a late touchdown pass. However, the Eagles got a
(01:46:08):
twenty four to nineteen victory against the Ravens earlier, just
a few moments ago. Baker Mayfield just sacked on a
second and six, and now it's going to be third
down and long for the Buccaneers. They are in Carolina territory,
seven forty five to go. As things have refreshed, but
the Panthers from the heroics of Bruce Young and the
(01:46:29):
heroics of Baker Mayfield. Now I have this in overtime,
and I did not think Kerry Rhoades, I would say,
I wish that Ravens Eagles game was over so we
could focus on Bunch Panthers. But that's what ended up happening.
And it's the final game of our late window and
it happens to be an overtime. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:46:45):
Only thing that late touchdown did for the Ravens was
put more emphasis on Justin Tucker's missfield goals throughout the game. True,
that's what that ends up happening in that situation.
Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
And also padded some of the stats of Lamar Jackson
so helped him as well. That far too. Ryan Bush
jumping up and down as the Buccaneers were driving down
the field and I walk in and he's like, Lamar
Jackson touchdown, and I'm like, oh, I thought you were
excited that we actually had a score in the Buccaneers
Panthers game. Chase McLoughlin's on to try to attempt the
(01:47:16):
field goal. We'll tell you how that goes once we do.
Will jump over to Monsey and then we've got some
fast times with Carrie Rohads is going to break down
the heroics and Bryce Young that allowed the Panthers to
get that late lead, only to surrender it back to
Tampa as they said they should have ran more clock anyway.
As for McLoughlin, his kick is on its way and
(01:47:36):
it's no good. So he makes from fifty one at
the buzzer, misses from fifty five.
Speaker 3 (01:47:42):
And that's how important that those three four extra yards
were that on that completion.
Speaker 2 (01:47:47):
Yes, absolutely, it was the difference between a make and
a miss. Different hashmark on this one as well. Hooked
at a little left reminds me off the tee a
little bit going left of left, and that's what happens.
So the Panthers are set up now just doing a
field goal to win, as the Buccaneers were unable to
cash in on points. Let's go to the news desk,
(01:48:07):
Monty Belanio. Sorry, we took care of Panthers Buccaneers twenty
three all in overtime. You could take care of the rest.
Speaker 8 (01:48:14):
I'm sweating and I don't even care about this Panthers
Buccaneers game, and I'm sweating just watching it. I love
Baker Mayfield and I'm so happy for Bryce Young. Like,
it's just so nice to see which carry and I
talked about that on Friday, So nice to see.
Speaker 7 (01:48:26):
We'll see how it ends.
Speaker 8 (01:48:27):
Twenty three, twenty three and overtime. As you guys mentioned,
the Eagles of officially defeated the Ravens twenty four nineteen
in Baltimore. So Philadelphia improves to ten and to Saquon
Barkley twenty three carries one hundred and seven yards and
one touchdown in the win. Jalen hurts, I mean, not
too shabby, eleven of nineteen, one hundred and eighteen yards
a one touchdown. He also had nine carries twenty nine
yards and a touchdown. Ravens felle to eight and five.
(01:48:50):
Earlier today, well not so long ago, the Rams improved
to six and six. They had a twenty one to
fourteen win over the Saints after being shut out in
the first half Kyron Williams fifteen carries, one hundred and
four yards and one touchdown, the Texans held on to
beat the Jaguars twenty three to twenty. Not only did
the Jags lose the game, but they lost Trevor Lawrence
after a brutal hit. He was taken out of the
(01:49:10):
game with a head injury, and mac Jones had to
step in. He finished twenty of thirty two four two
hundred and thirty five yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
The Commanders bounced back and crushed the Titans forty two
to nineteen. Jayden Daniels threw for three touchdowns. He also
had a touchdown on the ground and one pick in
the game. The Colts held on to beat the Patriots
twenty five to twenty four, while the Chargers improved to
eight and four defeating the Falcons in Atlanta seventeen to thirteen.
(01:49:33):
The Chargers defense had to pick six in the second
half and really controlled the whole game. There wasn't a
lot of offense for the Chargers in this one. The
Seahawks improved to seven and five after outscoring the Jets
twenty six to twenty one. Seattle's defense had to pick
six didn't allow any points in the second half. The
Vikings came back from behind to edge the Cardinals twenty
three to twenty two. Sam Darnold threw for two hundred
(01:49:54):
and thirty five yards and two touchdowns, including the last
one that gave them the lead. He connected with Aaron Jones,
leaving just one minute and thirteen seconds left on the clock.
The Steelers improved to nine and three with the forty
four to thirty eight win over the Bengals.
Speaker 7 (01:50:06):
Of Bingals fall to four and eight.
Speaker 8 (01:50:08):
George Pickens had three catches, seventy four yards and a touchdown.
He was also flagged twice for unsportsmanlike conduct, and Mike
Tomlin after the game said that he needs to grow up.
That this is an emotional game. Yes it's a divisional game,
but he needs to grow up because he has a
target on his back and he has to grow up
in a hurry, is what Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:50:26):
Tomlin said yesterday.
Speaker 8 (01:50:28):
Yes, yes, in a hurry yesterday exactly. Still to come,
Bills in a snowstorm against the forty nine Ers. No
keyon Coleman for the Bills, but it is official that
Brock party is active for San Francisco as expected.
Speaker 7 (01:50:43):
Guys, what a day?
Speaker 4 (01:50:45):
What a day?
Speaker 2 (01:50:46):
Yet?
Speaker 7 (01:50:46):
No, I'm telling you, I'm sweating.
Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
The Panthers are facing a third and five again twenty
three all of the Buccaneers a third and five right
at the fifty yard line. Five point fifty four to
go in overtime. Edie Beiniro's three five field goal kicking
today for Carolina has made one from forty seven yards out.
But if you're anywhere in the fifty to fifty one
(01:51:08):
yard range, you're gonna be kicking that field goal for Carolina.
Ball good catch, and Adam Feelin has just made a
one handed catch. Adam Feelin professional pass catcher. That's what
it is, a one handed catch. As Bryce Young threw
it behind him and the Panthers are now in field
(01:51:31):
goal range. You're gonna break down the touchdown in a second.
This is all Adam Feeling here. Oh my god.
Speaker 3 (01:51:39):
I mean it's it's all Adam Feeling on the Cats.
But for Bryce Young is standing there under the pressure
because he got hit as if he's throwing it. So
they even get it out there and give this guy
a chance. That's big time.
Speaker 2 (01:51:48):
And so now it's down to the thirty four yard
line and five minutes left to go in overtime. I
would I would assume you're gonna get a lot of
chewba hubbers, and you did any He just was stripped
of the football and now Tampa Bay has recovered Cuba
Howard had about five or six yards on the ground
(01:52:11):
and was just it had it ripped out, And now
the Buccaneers are going to take it over in their
own territory, still five minutes left, but wanting to get
a few more. I mean, Matt Eberfluch just would have
kicked the field goal there, right, I'm just kidding, But
Cuba Hubbard was stripped as he fell as he was
(01:52:33):
going to the turf, And now the Buccaneers have recovered.
Brice was smart. Don't dive into a b Yeah, even
with the game on the line, not that one, not
that one. No, no, no, we saw it happened to
Drew Brees on the play like that. So now Tampa
Bay takes over after the fumble, we're going to have
to pass on fast times. Yeah, we're the breakdown. I
(01:52:57):
think it's all Bryce Young on the touchdown pass that
had him take the lead. But a great piece of work,
and now the Buccaneers and Panthers tell you what, that's
a piece of work as well. He's carry roads. I'm
dan byer. Buccaneers taking over first and ten from their
own twenty nine yard line, five minutes left in overtime,
and the game that's tied up at twenty three all
(01:53:19):
will bring the conclusion plus the MVPs. Next here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
Live Fox Sports Red Zone Radio. He's carry Rhoads. I'm
Dan Byer. Two games left in Week thirteen. Spent a
long week starting from Thanksgiving. The Buccaneers and Panthers made
it even longer because Tampa Bay walks away with a
twenty six to twenty three win over Carolina in overtime.
(01:53:55):
Chase McLaughlin thirty three yard field goal wins it. Tampa
now six and six. Panthers fall to three and nine
man And the only thing that matters is that Tampa
Bay proved me right. Carolina left too much time on
the clock. You can talk about the Cuba Hubbard fumble,
(01:54:16):
you can talk about all that you want, Chase McLoughlin
click kick, But I'm telling you, when they call that
time out at thirty six seconds and all the time
in the world, they didn't need to call the time out.
They left thirty seconds on the clock, Tampa went down
and scored, kicked the field goal, and then ultimately wins
in overtime.
Speaker 3 (01:54:34):
That's right when you're not used to winning and you're
in a situation where you get a chance to win.
Some of those things happened really quickly, and I think
we were on the same page as far as not
having to use that time out at that point. Obviously
people have different philosophies, but hindsight twenty twenty, let it
run a little bit and get that touch down with
ten seconds left, and it looks a little bit different.
Speaker 2 (01:54:58):
They're gonna learn and for Carolina, not the worst thing
in the world for them to lose, even though they're
still paying off some of that Bryce Young draft pick
collateral and whatnot. He has carrier ods. I'm Dan Byer.
We'll get to the sun in that affair, plus my
little playoff, right, but first a week thirteen MVPs.

Speaker 2 (01:58:49):
Settle for everybody.
Speaker 4 (01:58:51):
This is Fox Football Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:58:54):
You live by the sword, you die by the sword.
The Indianapolis Colts went to New England today and got
a win against the Patriot's and for the second time
in three weeks, Anthony Richardson has developed developed a game
winning drive putting the Colts on top and at the
two point conversion to ultimately give him the win.
Speaker 3 (01:59:10):
Yeah, he's loving the AFC East right now, right. I
mean that came against the Jets one week and then
he comes against the Patriots this week. So he's loving
the a f ceas he's planned. He's getting better in
increments are incremittently.
Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
I got it out.
Speaker 2 (01:59:24):
I know I knew it was there. So it's it's
exciting to see the forty nine ers and Bills played
tonight frigid Buffalo after their three feet of snow plus
in certain parts of the area. Niners come to town
bit banged up. No Trent Williams tonight. In fact, Brandon
Allen is inactive, so Josh Dobbs likely is the second
(01:59:46):
quarterback backing up rock party. Who will start? Who do
you like tonight between the Bills and Niners?
Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
I mean, the easy answer here would be the Bills,
but I just don't see it happening that easily, and
I think Samsus is going to and they're gonna have
a chance to win this game. So I'm actually gonna
give the nod to the forty nine Ers tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:00:05):
All right, at least plus the points. Those are six
and a half point favorites as well. Curious to see
how the footing goes. And according to NFL dot Com,
if the forty nine Ers don't win tonight, they would
be two games back of the Seahawks for first in
the NFC West, but their percentage to get in the
playoffs would be down to ten percent, falling to five
and seven. I got San Francisco, San Francisco, How about
(02:00:29):
San Francisco? Straight up? Tonight to make it interesting. I agree.
I don't believe believe in the Niners as a whole,
but with funky conditions we'll see it. They can make
it work. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer. Enjoy the
football tonight, stay warm, and we will talk to you
in week fourteen here on Fox Sports Radio
