Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Week five.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We're also a quarter through the season. Yes, a quarter
of the way through the NFL season. We were kind
of toggling it last week.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Carry, but I say that we're there.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
We're gonna give out some quarterly reports when it comes
to coaching, teams and whatnot in the National Football League.
Today we got one, two, three, four, perfect number in
our late window. Four games going on right now, and
I'm curious to think, to hear your thoughts, carry, to
hear what you think about the marquee game. Of these
four you got Lions at Cincinnati, Buccaneers and Seahawks playing

(00:37):
a throwback uniform game as they both celebrate their fifty
seasons in the National Football League, Commanders facing the Chargers,
and then you got the Titans and Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Late window wise, what is the game we need to
focus on Dan first and foremost.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
The way Monsey put out that Yankee score five nothing,
she sounded elated a little bit there, So I'm a
little oss but you felt that. But no, Well, as
far as your question and what the marquee game is today,
I mean, right now, in this late window, it has
to be the Buccaneers and the Seahawks. To me, both
are you know teams that you know. With the Buccaneers
they're trying to win the division again and control that

(01:12):
and get controlled in the NFC. And this is in
the planet team in Seattle, who's you know, playing really well,
playing good defense and Sam Donald's been playing well and
so it's kind of a measurement stick game. And this
with the Seahawks, Seahawks being at home, they should be
able to try to win this game. But right now,
the Buccaneers are up six nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
And with Tampa without Bucky Irving today, yeah, obviously know
Mike Evans because of that hamstring injury. They are severely
limited and Tampa right now has been the only ones
moving the football. Seahawks did miss a field goal early
in the contest, Jason Myers no good on a kick
that would have tied it early. But Tampa's knocking on
the door again. They're in the red zone and now
inside the ten yard line, gonna have a first and

(01:49):
goal from the six yard line. And I think that
you're right, like I think that you're right about this
because Commander's Chargers probably the one that gives off the
most Marquee because Jayden Daniels is back, and yeah, the
NFL loves quarterbacks, but I just don't know how you
can look at Washington considering their injuries. Terry McLaurin didn't

(02:10):
even make the trip. You know, they lost Austin Eckler
earlier this season, so that Achilles injury. They're severely limited
on offense, and you have a Chargers team coming in
at home should be able to handle some business, especially
after the debacle last week against the Giants. You're right
about the Buccaneers and Seahawks, not only that, it could

(02:32):
be for NFC supremacy right now depending on how this
plays out and Rashad White's gotten in the end zone.
So Tampa now up twelve nothing on the Seahawks extra
point coming with two on nine left to go in
the first half, especially with the loss by the Eagles
earlier today. The number one seed in the NFC right
for the taking right now.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Yeah, for sure, and these two teams are going to
be down be in the mix all season. Both are
really good at what they do, and I think they've
already established established and identity both of these teams early
in the season, which we can't say about a lot
of teams, and so when you have that, you know
that you have a team that you can when things
get tough, you can rely on certain things, and both
of these teams have that.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
The funny thing too with the Buccaneers is if they
win today, extra point was good. So it's now thirteen nothing.
If they win today, they're four and one. The Falcons,
who are on by this week are two and two.
But I don't think that we believe Carolina and New
Orleans are going to be threats coming from behind. Panthers

(03:32):
picked up a nice win, coming from behind win to
beat the Dolphins today, but to think that they're a
threat not really the case. So the division is kind
of there right now for the Buccaneers, who have a
win over the Falcons already this season. Yeah, so now
you kind of five weeks that I'm not granting the division.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
But let's you say they have a sizeable lead.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Right So now you've got Mike Evans hurt and Bucky
Irving hurt, but you don't have to really worry about
maybe losing control of the division. He can let those
guys rest up, you can let them get healthy and
back to full strength. You just don't have to do
anything stupid if you're the Buccaneers and then you try
to push it on for make a push for a
late season run, and then they're right there with the

(04:12):
four and one nine Ers, four and one Eagles. So
if you get this win today, Tampa is in a
really really good spot in the NFC.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
And on the flip side of that, if they don't
get this win, it's crazy how how instrumental one game is. Right,
the Falcons finally found something last week and they won
a game, and what are they did? Two and two
right now? Yes, so you lose that, then you only
one game, well, I mean one and a half game
because they have the tiebreaker. But again, things can get
tight really quickly. So in games like this, when you

(04:41):
have a chance to win one and like you said,
kind of get that supremacy spot in your division and
in NFC, it can be a huge, huge win for them.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
And the Seahawks are a team that have gone on
the road twice gotten wins against Pittsburgh and Arizona. But
if you think back to how those games played out,
Cardinals had late crazy comeback with the Seahawks winning on
a last second field goal, of that Thursday night game
in Week four, and you go back to Week two
against the Steelers when they ended up beating Aaron Rodgers
in Pittsburgh. You have the Caleb Johnson error on the kickoff,

(05:12):
which is a in enormous play. You know you played
in the league eight years how one play can absolutely
change a game. There was another deflected ball by the
Steelers that was picked off by the Seahawks and the
end zone. So just a couple of plays, but Seattle
was able to make those plays. The point I'm trying
to make here is Seattle's three to one, but I
still think with something to prove. You have a new

(05:33):
offensive coordinator and Clint Kubiak, and now you have a
Buccaneers team coming in making the long trip across the
country and it's right there for you, and you put
up this effort so far in the first half, just
had a bad turnover that allowed the Buccaneers to get
those points. Yeah, this could have been an opportunity for
the Seahawks because the forty nine Ers right now, even
without Rock Perty and all of their injuries, don't seem

(05:57):
to be going one where. Yeah and one they've got
to win over the Seahawks today, So this would be
the one that the Seahawks. If they don't end up
winning this game, I think a're gonna look back and
kind of wish they would have had.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
It one hundred percent correct.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
And we talk about like, you know, some of these
games not meaning anything, or you know, like we like
to say, oh, they can lose this game. There, you
can't lose any of these Like you got to go
into the into the game with the mindset of winning,
because you just said it. The margin of error is
so small in any game. One play that you think
is kind of like a nondescript play can change the

(06:31):
outcome of that game. So, I mean, when you get
an opportunity at home against a good team, you got.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
To show up. And right now that have been shown up.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
But it puts them in a position where they're a
little bit outside of their conference zone. They're still in
the game, but now we can see Sam Donald right
now with two minutes, try to go get a score
here before they happen possibly change the game.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
I think on paper, Bengals Lions looked like quite a
game at the starting to the season, and then the
Joe Burrow injury happened, and now Jake Browning is thrown
you guts an interception. So the Lions up seven to
nothing in that game early in the second quarter. Now
have it deep in Cincinnati territory, something that the Bengals

(07:09):
cannot afford. But at Bengals sitting there at two and two,
Lions have the same sort of conversation that we're having
about the Buccaneers and Seahawks as well. They get to
four and one, their four and one, you're gonna win
today looks pretty solid. You kind of forget that opening
game against the Packers and say, all right, division game opener, whatever,

(07:29):
You kind of throw that one out the window.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
But if the Lions get the.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Four and one, they're right in the NFC picture with
whoever wins that Buccaneer Seahawks.

Speaker 4 (07:35):
And to be honest, right now, they are the most
impressive NFC team to me, And I know that's your
super Bowl team and right now, I mean, obviously with
the way Green Bay has kind of fall to the
last two weeks, and you know, Dallas, they played a
Dallas team that was really inspired. It was gonna give
their best effort, and you know, you tie that one
and then you put yourself in that position where you
know those games we talk about like you need to
win them. But Detroit, the way they have been playing

(07:58):
physically upfront, defensively, offensively, and their playmakers in the way
their coordinators right now are taking control of this tam
I mean they look impressive.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Jimi or Gibbs is taking a carry all the way
down to the Cincinnati three yard line and Detroit's going
to have a first in goal from that three yard line.
Chargers up ten nothing on the Commanders early in the
second quarter, and then the Cardinals right now twenty one
to six, leading the Titans in a game in Arizona.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
They're gonna get a win. I know. I don't say
that with confidence. Yeah, your voice fluctuated. There very must be.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
If I really wanted to put the rubber stamp, I
would say they're going to get a win.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
But they're going to get a win. There may be
a question mark after what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Uh huh. I thought maybe it could come today.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Cardinals had the extra time off because of that Week
four game. Maybe they're overlooking the Titans. No, he just
gives you, he gives me. They can't can't anybody not
going to happen twenty one to six. But at some
point they got a breakthrough. At some point. I don't

(09:08):
know if Brian Callian will be there for it or not,
but at some point they got to break through.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
Man.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Listen, they're bad and we saw that last week with
all the chatter that was coming out.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
We talked about that.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
We heard the quarterback and say some things that was
a little controversial, and then you hear the head coach
speak I think a day later, and they just seem
to be out of source. They're talking about maybe trading
Justin Simmons, the Simmons right and so Simmons, Jeffrey Simmons,
and so right now things are pretty bad in Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yeah, tough times for the Titans. Thorry new stadium coming
in twenty twenty seven. Second of goal lines get stuffed
on their first play on the goal to goal situation,
so knocking on the door seven to nothing and the
Chargers continue to have a ten to nothing lead on
top of the Commanders again that contest in the second quarter.
Also keeping our eye on baseball. As Carrie mentioned, Mazi

(09:58):
may have been excited to talk about the Yankees losing
right now, they are down five to nothing bottom of
the fourth inning, and you're a Yankees fan if they
go down oh two, how concerned?

Speaker 3 (10:11):
Like is it?

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Is it over?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
Like?

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Obviously you don't want to be down oh two? But
do you think this series is over if the Yankees
lose today?

Speaker 4 (10:19):
No, it isn't. But obviously you don't want to fall
fall down oh two. They've had trouble in Toronto all year.
They have been won there. I mean, if you check
their record, I'm sure they I don't I don't even
know if they won a game. It's not a lot,
so they've had haven't had success there. But they want
to try to attempt to come back and win this game. Obviously,
Max Fred having a rough start to this game, but

(10:41):
with the way they score runs, this game isn't over yet.
But oh two, isn't the end of the world. When
it comes to baseball. You get to relocate, get back
into you know, get back into New York and have
a chance to.

Speaker 2 (10:51):

the end zone. Brock right a touchdown for the Lions.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Is that the case? Chris Purfett, is it Brockwright getting
into the end zone? Four dick right with a touchdown
pass from David Montgomery on disnap that alright?

Speaker 4 (11:29):
They have the best red zone package in the NFL
for sure, not even close.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Who needs Ben Johnson right exactly? Ben Johnson's on buy
right now, probably throwing stuff at the TV.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
That's my play exactly.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
I could come up with something like that. Carry up
at Carry twenty five roads. You can find me at
Dan Byer on Fox again. Four games in this late window.
There were six games in the earlier window, and we
mentioned the comeback by the Panthers against the Dolphins. We're
going to dive into that. Mark Slerath, who is on
the call for Fox, join us from Charlotte. As the
Panthers got that big win. That's next year on end

for the Lions.

Speaker 8 (12:57):
Big a Wildcat David Montgomery, the direct snap, He's gonna throw.

Speaker 9 (13:10):

touchdown pass once again.

Speaker 10 (13:16):
Here's Dan Byer and Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Ninety seven point one The Ticket. Lions Radio Network on
the call at Send Zone Radio. He is Carrier Roads,
I'm dan byer Lines. With that fourteen to nothing lead
right now on top of the Bengals in the second quarter,
other action, seahawk skin and the end zone. Sam Darnold
to Jackson Smith and Jigba right before half extra point.
Good Buccaneers up thirteen to seven. Commanders have the football
down ten nothing to the Chargers, but driving in La

(13:42):
territory and it's all Cardinals on top of the Titans
twenty one to six. The game of the day. At
least one of the good games that we had in
the early window happened in Charlotte. Let's focus on that day.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Now it's time for the NFL.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
On flocks focus, they say, start with the bad news first.
Mark Schlurt joins us here on Fox Sports Radio. That's
good news for us. The bad news the Dolphins running game.
And Mark, considering how you obliterated the Raiders offensive line
when he joined us a couple of weeks ago, what
did you think in watching the Dolphins today, who had
nineteen total yards on fourteen carries in losing that lead

(14:21):
end game to the Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 11 (14:23):
Yeah, well they're not very good upfront, There's no question
about that. So that was, you know, I was obviously
a big deal. And I think my biggest takeaway from
this game is Miami jumps to seventeen nothing and I thought, oh,
Carolina Panthers is going to roll over.

Speaker 1 (14:38):
I mean, this is just it.

Speaker 11 (14:40):
And you know, they they leaned into their running game.
Rico Daddle had over two hundred yards rushing and he's
averaging about nine ten yards of carry. Run into the
right hand side, and it was an impressive victory. It
was an impressive comeback by the Carolina Panthers because by
you know, all for all intents and purposes, he just
thought they was just going to roll over.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
But they did and they continue.

Speaker 11 (15:00):
To fight and came out on top. So pretty big
time victory for Carolina.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
Mark when I you know, Carolina was one of the
teams I was really interested in seeing come out this year.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
Obviously they started out slow.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Now they've won two in a row, even though they
haven't been pretty against great teams. Can you since some
type of confidence starting with this team, and obviously if
they can play this way and mix up the running
the past the way they did in this game, even
after falling down seventeen nothing. Could this be their identity?

Speaker 11 (15:28):
Yeah, well it needs it needs to be because they're
not that talented. I mean, you know, the tenor Roll
McMillan kid can play. He's really good. But then you
know the rest of the receiving corps is you know,
I mean, it's it's average at best. And so they
made some plays today. Jimmy Horn made a play which
out of the rookie had to see you or Colorado,

(15:49):
so that was kind of fun to see. And Legett
finally got going a little bit and made a couple
of plays, had a touchdown catch, which was big time
because that guy had been kind of in the witness
threelocation program, so it was good to see him make
a play. But listen, this is a team that you
know when you look at when you look at Bryce Young,

(16:10):
Bryce Young is not going to cover Warks.

Speaker 5 (16:11):
He just not.

Speaker 11 (16:12):
He's not that type of quarterback. So you've got to
put people around him. You've got to be able to
run the ball control line of scrimmage, and and that's
what they did today. Now with that said, Miami, there
are both lines of scrimmage. Their offensive line is they
can't create any pressure. They can't create any you know,
get off the ball, and their defensive line just got

(16:35):
shoved around. They didn't set edges, they didn't hold the
point of contact, and their linebackers make a lot of tackles,
but they're all for plus eight.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Mark Slot joining us here on Fox Sports Radio ticking
the Panthers twenty seven to twenty four win over the Dolphins.
He said that Bryce Young can't cover warts. What is
the ceiling now for the quarterback in his third year?

Speaker 11 (16:54):
Well, listen, man, He's improved tremendously, there's no question about that.
But he's it's not one of those guys. You know,
there's very few guys that can just cover the wards
of their football team. You know, the Peyton Mannings of
the world, the Tom Brady's of the world, the Joe
Burrows of the world, you know, the Mahomes of the world.
So you know, the rest of the guys have got

(17:15):
to have good players around them, and you know, Franklin
Carolina Panthers just don't have enough good players around him
right now. I don't think he's ever going to be
kind of a star level quarterback like he was when
he won the Heisman at Alabama.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
But can you win with him?

Speaker 11 (17:30):
Yeah, if you build enough good you know, enough good
players around him, I think he can win. But he's
never I don't think he'll ever be kind of a
quote unquote answer, you know, like the franchise type of
guys that people are looking for. But I do believe
you can win.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Last one for it before we let you go. What
does Miami do?

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Now?

Speaker 3 (17:50):
One and four?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
We keep on talking about Mike McDaniel and his job security.
What do the next couple of weeks look like for
the Dolphins?

Speaker 11 (17:58):
Yeah, well, I mean it can't be good. And you know,
and obviously Mike McDonald has had some success and you know,
and and now he's sitting at about five hundred his record,
and it just does not it just doesn't look good.
And like I said, you know, they have not controlled
or not been able to win either line of scrimmage.

(18:20):
And you know, without Tyreek Hill, that's that's you know,
going to cost them from the explosiveness standpoint, They're still
an explosive offense. But but you know, it just is
It's just one of those things like in this league,
no matter how much you know, we get enamored with
wide receivers and speed and you know, all the exciting

(18:41):
bells and whistles. Man, if you can't control a lone
of scrimmage, you's not winning this league. And that's where
the Miami Dolphins are right now. They're in trouble.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, one and four on the season. Mark, we appreciate
the time. Can't we wait to talk to you again?
Safe travels.

Speaker 3 (18:53):
Have a go with Mark.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
All right, guys, Panthers improved the two and three with
that twenty seven to twenty four victory, Dolphins fall to
one in four. I I think the Dolphins situation is
so much bigger than Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
I really do.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
And it's it goes all the way to the absolute top.
And this is Stephen Ross and the ownership. This is
you know, Chris Greer is the general manager. Remember, this
is an organization carry that was docked draft picks because
they were trying to lure Sean Payton and Tom Brady

(19:31):
to town like those and and maybe they were realistic
opportunities to do so, but they were willing to throw,
you know, put caution to the wind, and they ended
up getting penalized for it. And it tells me that
they're almost looking for the easy way out. Let's just
go get Sean Payton, Let's just go get Tom Brady

(19:51):
instead of trying to build a team. And at one
point they had enough draft picks where they could build.
They got him docked because of that tampering. They also
made another trade to bring in you know, you know pieces,
but they Bradley Chubb was a guy they ended up
acquiring a couple of years ago into the trade deadline
because they thought maybe that was the year. But there's
never been like this foundation And maybe it falls on

(20:14):
two up, but I actually think it's organizational. It's why
the Dolphins have been tho. The Dolphins are over the
last you know how many years, even without Tua. Yeah,
and it's not even that you're in a division with
New England and Buffalo. There's just never really an opportunity
to compete. And I think it just goes all the
way to the top.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
Yeah, I mean, it's always more than the actual thing.
That's the pressing thing that everybody's talking about, right, organization. Organizationally,
they have to I mean, you have to stick to
whatever your game plan is going in as a group.
So that means from owner to GM to head coach.
Obviously you have to be aligned, right, but then when

(20:51):
things get tough, you have to allow whatever you guys
set up as your blueprint, your foundation, to be the foundation.
So again you talk about taking wings at players and
you'll bring in a franchise guy here, or trying to
bring in this person to stop gap this or or
plug up this situation. It just doesn't work that way.
I mean, you think about football teams, you think you

(21:12):
think about ones that are successful and have been successful
for a long time. It is foundation found that the
foundation of the organization is set and you know how
you're going to attack things. And so when you fall
out of line with that and you're trying to get
splash players and plug up things, it's never going to
be the recipe.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
The contract that they gave Tua shows you that you're committed.
You brought in Mike McDaniel prior to that to fix
Tua or to make him the quarterback that you hoped
he would be. And honestly, Gary, I think to a
point McDaniel has succeeded in that, and it's more of
the evaluation of what Tua is and ultimately it's the

(21:52):
recommitment that I think is going to make McDaniel not
return next year. At some point this team is going
to need a fresh start. They can out of twist
contract and just looking at spot trek here after the
twenty twenty seven season would be the out. But that
would be I mean, this year's a lost cause, this
year's over with and they get through next year and
you try to rebuild. But the moment that they recommitted

(22:15):
to tu yeah, was the ultimate downfall of it. And
that's likely going to cost Mike McDaniel's job and usher
out this era of Miami Dolphins football that's likely going
to peak with a wild Card appearance and a loss
to the Chiefs on a cold night in Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
It was the dumbest thing they've done up to date.
To me, we saw what Tua was, and now can
you win with him? Yes, they won games, they've won
regular season games, but that's not enough. Like, if you're
paying somebody as a quarterback to be that guy, you
think that he can get you over to hump and actually,
you know, Mark just said it, like hi at the warts,

(22:51):
Yes he's not that guy. And so if you have
so many warts on your team, which Miami does. Even
in those years when they were super explosive and it's
going on of points, we'll be like, oh, the defense
wasn't great. Oh the all line isn't great. Ah, they
can't get a pass for us. It's always an asterisk
behind it. And so it's just it's not going to
work out that way if that guy is not.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
The guy and you pay him that much money to
be the guy knowing that he's not the guy. It's
just it's crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
They committed money to Tyreek Hill obviously, and when they
acquired him in a trade, committed money to Jade Jalen Waddle, and.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Then you like makea Fitzpatrick when he's one of the
best players at that time.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
Well you know, yeah, it's interesting as well, like so
now make us back. Okay.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
So it's maybe a little not that exactly, but a
little bit like Joe Flacco too, like now the Brown's like, okay,
now we'll keep you. Like well that's that. That's over.
The balloom is off the rose there. But yeah, they
made some decisions. John Smith, who's dealt to Pittsburgh this,
had said like in the preseason and the offseason that
he wanted to stay in Miami like he wanted. He

(23:52):
wanted to be there whether they were good or not,
and they just couldn't come to terms on money. But
you commit, and and I'm so glad we were on
this page because I thought the same thing when when
Mark said about Rice Young not being able to cover
up the warts. It's the thing that is Tua. And
now you take Tua and you're not even sure about
his availability some of the time because of the serious

(24:14):
concussions that he's endured throughout his career. So it's just
been it's been a bad string of events for the Dolphins.
But I still think it goes all the way up
to the top, because no franchise should be this poorly
run for this long. And I know Stephen Ross hasn't
owned them forever. Wayne Eizinga owned them in the previous regime,

(24:37):
but still, in the decisions that you make and the
deals that you try to do, it just seems at
one point the Dolphins were maybe sitting in a cat
bird seed to try to build a foundation. They kind
of gave away those picks, maybe didn't hit on some
other ones, and then put all your eggs in the
basket to Tua. To your point, you shouldn't have given
them the contract extension. Now there's likely going to be

(24:57):
a bunch of new faces in Miami after the season.

Speaker 4 (24:59):
And the other part Dan that I think is another
conversation when we have time, is the importance of the
quarterback position. Right, we want to make it such an
astronomical gap between the importance of the quarterback to whatever
the next position is, you know, considered to be the
closest to that as far as importance goes.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
We go back to that draft and revisit it. If
they didn't take to and they took Justin Herbert.

Speaker 4 (25:26):
Like that would be the conversation sometimes, and that's what
a lot of people have talked about. Is he the
guy that covers those warts in Miami? We don't know,
but in my opinion, I wouldn't think so. But again,
that just shows how much you have to really construct
the real team and have a philosophy on how you're
going to win games. Because we can obviously see that

(25:46):
Miami when they first came in with Mike McDaniel, it
was the score points and we're going to sack your quarterback.
When they had Bradley Chubb and all those guys. The
fact that that went away so quickly just shows that
fundamentally there is no stability to what they're doing.

Speaker 2 (25:59):
Of the top eleven paid wide receivers in the National
Football League on annual salary, how many of those eleven,
like pairs wise, do you think come from two to
from the same team.

Speaker 3 (26:11):
Min.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
I'm like Wad Waddlen Hill and Chase and uh Peggy
Higgins in Cincinnati. Yeah, and we all have extreme concerns
about the bank about both Okay, right, right, So to
your point about asking about Herbert, Okay, maybe they get
a little bit further, maybe like the Bengals, they go
to a Super Bowl with that, but I don't think
it's sustainable.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
And it's and to the point with.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Tua, So now not only could Tua now not cover
the warts, but now you were paying these two other
guys in extreme, you know, extremely high salary compared to
everybody else in the league, and then you can't pay
anybody else. Yes, and it's just a recipe for disaster.
Quick question to you, Dan, if Tua was in San
fran would they win?

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Yeah, that's and that's because they're structurally set up the
way they're supposed to to win, to win.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Yes, we're the same page. And I was watching Jalen
Hurts run and I'm like, what about if Tua was
in Philadelphia? What are the what are the options? Maybe
you're not running push push all the time. I still
think that there's an opportunity for success, and maybe some
of those warts aren't popping. That's the thing. Yes, all right,
he's carry roads. We're on the same page. Hit him

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Let's go to the news desk, Monzi Millennials giving us
the latest of what's happening in week five in the
NFL and.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Some baseball across the border. What's going on all?

Speaker 12 (27:44):
Should we start with baseball? Start?

Speaker 13 (27:46):
Let's get it out of the way, because Carrie, I
don't have good news for you since Vladimir Guerrero Junior
hit a grand Slam, the first grand Slam in Blue
Jays postseason history.

Speaker 12 (27:57):
Then our show went out and hit a two run shot.

Speaker 4 (28:00):
So it is.

Speaker 14 (28:01):
Eleven zero against the Yankees in.

Speaker 13 (28:05):
Game two of this al DS best of five series.
But you can catch all the action or lack of
on FS one Maazi.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
Girro head and get a home run in the like
O one bating.

Speaker 13 (28:18):
Grandsam, Yeah, Grandsam, yep, yep.

Speaker 12 (28:20):
So there's that one.

Speaker 13 (28:22):
Let's check in before we go into football completely. WNBA
finals were also happening. The Aces defeated the Mercury ninety
one to seventy eight to take a two zero lead in.

Speaker 12 (28:31):
The w NBA finals. All right, in the NFF.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Kathy Engel, throw the trophy at whoever wins it.

Speaker 13 (28:38):
If it's Asia Wilson, she's got a run because I
think Asia Wilson is going to take her down and
then bam outa Bayo is gonna come out of the door.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
We're just friends, We're just friends.

Speaker 12 (28:46):
We're just friends. In the NFL, the Seahawks scored right
before half. Sam Darnold connected.

Speaker 13 (28:53):
With Jackson Smith and Jigbab, but the Buccaneers are upright
now thirteen to seven as they get going in the
third quarter, lines up on the Bengals fourteen is zero
one minute to go in the first half, Commanders in
the end zone, but the Chargers are still up ten
seven with about ninety.

Speaker 12 (29:07):
Seconds to go in the first half of that.

Speaker 13 (29:09):
One, and the Cardinals all over the Titans in the
first half. Twenty one to six is a score also
about a minute to go in the first half. But
football started in London and the Vikings defeated the Browns
twenty one to seventeen, scoring the go ahead touchdown with
twenty five seconds left. That touchdown was caught by mister
Jordan Addison, who was benched in the first quarter, and
it came out later that he missed a walk through

(29:30):
this week, which is why he was benched. The Colts
improved to four and one. They crushed the Raiders forty
to six. Broncos scored eighteen points in the fourth quarter
to hand the Eagles their first loss of the season,
coming down on top twenty one to seventeen. Texans rolled
past the Ravens forty four to ten. Panthers came back
to defeat the Dolphins twenty seven to twenty four. This
Saint shut out the Giants in the second half and

(29:52):
beat New York twenty five to fourteen. New York had
three fumbles lost all three, one of them was returned
for a touchdown, and the Cowboys outscored the Jets thirty
seven to twenty two.

Speaker 12 (30:02):
Back to you, guys, I was.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
So bad for the Jets today. Carrie didn't even bring
in his uniform. He didn't even want to display. Yeah,
that correct.

Speaker 13 (30:11):
I mean they are technically right now the only zero
to five team technically, because if the Times lose, they
won't be well.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
They'll have company. They'll oh, oh, what happened? Kenneth Walker,
big run. Seahawks was setting up first and goal. By
the way, the Seahawks and Buccaneers started the game like
they were playing in nineteen seventy six.

Speaker 3 (30:32):
The tea were atrocious three yards and the cloud of dust.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
I want to say, our best setup if we had
Carrie's jersey here. We've got our awesome gear from Strauss,
but we've got the mini helmet set up with the
throwback of the Seahawks and Buccaneers. And when I was
in Buffalo, I picked up the rivalry helmet of the Bills.
I see one matched up against the Patriots tonight, so
I think it looks pretty.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Good, looks really good.

Speaker 12 (30:57):
Yeah, I'm too sure to see.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Carry's bobblehead and my punp pass and kick from when
I was nine down that's always been there. If bob
out of my trophy have always been there. Seahawks score. Yeah,
and like many Kenneth Walker, the third Fantasy football owners
are saying, oh, great, Zach Scharbonay again.

Speaker 3 (31:15):
Yes, it's Zach Charbonay.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Kenneth Walker takes you down inside the red zone and
then sharbon Ay does the rest. So Jason Myers on
the attempt an extra point that would give these Seahawks
the lead right now, tied up at thirteen a pieces.
They play in Seattle.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
We talked about it, Dan, I told you it was
a big drive, two minute drive for Seattle to go
get points before the half, and they went he got seven,
not three. And then they come back and double it
up after the break and get another touchdown.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
Now they're up one. That's crazy. I was surprised at
this start. Yeah, And I don't know if this is
how the Minnesota Vikings fans and everybody felt last year
and watching their team and how good the defense was,
and Sam Donald was playing at an MVP level. Donald
isn't doing as much as he did last year, is
he is this year for Seattle. I think the Seahawks

(32:02):
have a better or at least a more commitment to
the running game, yes, than they do. But I do
think that Seattle is going to be significantly a better
team than they were at the start of the season.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
At the end of the season, and.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
He bounce back against the short handed Buccaneers team after
the slow start here and get a win, just like
we started the show talking about.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
It just puts you in position. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
A lot of people had, you know, Seattle as you know,
a sleeper team coming out of the NFC NFC West,
and I know you did as well. And I couldn't
see it as clearly to start, I think they.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Nobody. Yeah, but then you have Mike mcdoniel and even
I mean Mike McDonald, And then you bring in Sam Donald,
where I was like, all right, you're replacing uh, you know,
an average quarterback for in my mind another.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Like above us. He's a little bit above average in
my mind, but he's he's playing well.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
I think he's doing what the game plan calls for
and he's not turned the ball over like Gino Smith would.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
And honestly, Seattle made the decision that they didn't want
to pay Gino Gino Smith wanted, so they got Sam
Darnold at a slightly cheaper discount. It's one of those
decisions that could really help the team, maybe moving off someone.
Gino's been having some troubles turning it over again today
as the Raiders were blown out in Indianapolis. But they

(33:24):
made the tough decision instead of just oh, we got
to pay the quarterback, pay the quarterback whatever he wanted.
They made the tough decision with Russell Wilson. That's worked
out well for him. So John Schneider right now doing
pretty well and making those tough decisions with the most
important position in football. Speaking of the most important position
in football, Jayden Daniels may have just hit Luke McCaffrey
for a big play near the end of the first half,

(33:45):
but there's some laundry on the field. This could get
the Commanders at least in scoring position with eighteen seconds
up in the first half. We're going to have to
see if there is a penalty or if the timeout
was called, maybe to the snap. The officials are talking
about it right now, but this would be a heck
of a grab for Luke McCaffrey. THO would set the

(34:06):
Commanders up in Chargers territory with eighteen seconds left.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
And the crazy part about that is this is only
happening because of a roughing the kicker penalty in the
end zone. So and even on that play the Chargers
mccaukey took the kick back for a touchdown, So this
would be a very dramatic flip of the flip of
the script right.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Now, So the Commanders that were still waiting on the call,
I just want to let you know what's happening on
this play. I think they're reviewing the play, but there
was a the broadcast didn't show that there was a
flag on the field, but this would set up looks
like the play is going to stand as the Commanders
use their final timeout. So twenty six seconds left to
go and the hiss they continue to show who committed

(34:50):
the roughing the kicker penalty, and the Commanders are now
going to have it first and ten at the Chargers
thirty four nearing the half. Now twenty six seconds left
to go. Commanders, though no longer have any timeouts. He's
carry road to I'm Dan Byer, Montzi's got to look
at some fantasy numbers next year. On end Zone Radio
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (35:09):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Buccaneers at Seahawks.

Speaker 9 (35:14):
Charman Hay in the backfield gets a hand off straight ahead, He's.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Gonna score touchdown Seahawks. Holy catfish. I don't know what
they had to drink at halftime, but give me some
of that kool aid.

Speaker 10 (35:30):
Back to Dan Byer and Carrie Rhoades.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Steve Rabel out of the Seahawks radio now work extra
point was good and Seattle right now with that lead
on Tampa Bay fourteen to thirteen. It's an interesting uniform
matchup because it's the best uniform matchup you could get,
as both teams are wearing their nineteen seventy six throwbacks,
so the Seahawks are whereing. They call it the nineties
throwback because the face mask is blue. There are a

(35:55):
couple of updated things, but both teams celebrating their fiftieth
season in the NFL both came in nineteen seventy six
and looking good. Game wasn't looking good for a while,
but now it is fourteen to thirteen Seahawks midway through
the third quarter as the Buccaneers do have the football
in Seattle territory. Lions up on the half, Bengals kick
a late field goal to get on the scoreboard, but

(36:15):
it's fourteen to three right now. Cardinals taking it to
the Titans twenty one to six, and the Commanders did
kick that field goal the end of the first half,
so they got some points on the board as the
touchdown was taken off. As Carrie mentioned, the roughing the
kicker penalty kept Washington alive and they stole three points
at the end of the half, so not tied up
with the Commanders.

Speaker 3 (36:35):
Oh go ahead, Dan.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
I was just gonna say, Monci Bilanios is at the
news desk, and she's got some fantasy numbers.

Speaker 10 (36:42):
Fantasy headsam, and missus.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Carrie just wanted to keep you from mentioning the ankles.
Car again, That's why he went, I figure off.

Speaker 13 (36:50):
I figured, no, it's a lot more than it was.
Just so you know, let's talk about some fantasy hits
for today's morning window.

Speaker 12 (37:00):
We'll start with quarterbacks. If you played CJ. Stroud.

Speaker 13 (37:02):
He is the highest for our quarterbacks for the day,
thirty six points. He threw for two hundred and forty
four yards and four touchdowns against that depleted Ravens defense.

Speaker 14 (37:12):
Dak Prescott gave you thirty five points.

Speaker 13 (37:15):
He threw for two hundred and thirty seven yards and
four touchdowns.

Speaker 12 (37:18):
The Jets, We're happy the Jets carry what have it?

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Jelly carries Jersey. They didn't show up that deck show up.
It carry actually kept us in the bag because they
didn't show up. It's actually in the bag. It's not
getting displayed.

Speaker 12 (37:29):
Were not doing that or not doing that?

Speaker 14 (37:31):
I got you running backs, I'm sure you all played.

Speaker 12 (37:35):
Rico Daubtell, I'm sure you did.

Speaker 13 (37:37):
Of course, thirty one points, twenty three carries, two hundred
and six yards and a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Matty before the day over.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
I need to know how many two hundred yard rusting
games there's been in the last five years.

Speaker 12 (37:49):
I will look that up. I will look that up.
I got you.

Speaker 13 (37:51):
Jonathan Taylor also gave you thirty one points. Love that
seventeen carries, sixty six yards and three touchdowns. When it
comes to the wide receivers, Jayalen Wall despite the Miami loss.
He's highest wide receiver for the day twenty three points,
six catches, one hundred and ten yards and a touchdown.
Rashid Shaheat also fort New Orleans twenty one points, four catches,
one hundred and fourteen yards and a touchdown.

Speaker 12 (38:13):
Just gonna do an honorable mention of Davante Smith, who
has been m i A.

Speaker 13 (38:17):
He gave you nineteen points today, eight catches, one hundred
and fourteen yards.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
There could be a conversation about AJ Brown, but I
don't think there needs to be.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Just it's Patrick's or Tan. That's what I mean.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
That's what happens when you're a J Brown and you
get Patrick's or tan. I'm not going to pile on
AJ Brown today for what happened last week because Patrick's
or Tan just shuts down everybody.

Speaker 12 (38:38):
But DeVante Smith had a.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Good game, So yes, read the rewards the other.

Speaker 12 (38:42):
Guy, Yeah exactly, Yeah, all right, back to you guys.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
And a Mecca Buca is just racked up some points
because he's not only caught a touchdown, he also just
caught the two point conversions. It's twenty one to fourteen
Buccaneers on top of the Seahawks seven fifty two left
of the third.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
How good has he been? It's insane, yes, for real.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
And the reason why I am surprised about it is
because now he's WR one.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
Oh so when you draft him.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
Godwin's coming back off the you know, severe injury from
the season ago, you didn't know when he was going
to be back, necessarily comes back. He's playing today. But
Mike Evans you thought would be WR one, and for
every single reason that he should be WR one, he
goes out with a hamstring.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
People still can't.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Figure out a way to guard a Mecca Abuka and
there's no running game to worry about it really, I mean,
just Bucky Irving's not there, so it's a Mecca Abuka
and he's continuing to carve up defenses.

Speaker 3 (39:39):
Man, he is.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
He's been a site for sories for them obviously. You know,
Mike Evans has been the guy there for a while,
and for them to just replenish that position and get
a guy that's another star. We talk about organizational like
having that structure and knowing what they want. Whatever they
saw in that guy, they knew it would fit their
system and their culture.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
And he's playing well.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
As I said, I watched a lot of a Mecca
Abuka in college at Ohio State, and when he came
into Ohio State, it was a five star recruit, top recruit.
But it's tough when you're running in the same group
with Marvin Harrison junior and then you think it's your
time to shine and here comes Jeremiah Smith right and Abuca,
I mean, Buka played great for him. He holds Ohio

(40:21):
State records for what he's done, but still under the
radar despite that great success. So the Bucks up seven
on the Seahawks. Cardinals lead the Titans twenty one to
six coming out of halftime. Commanders and Charges tied up
at ten apiece in the Lions and Bengals right now
in Cincinnati, Detroited up fourteen to three in that contest.

(40:41):
He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Bayer coming up next. The
Baltimore Ravens are one and four. Is there season over?
Carry tells us next on Fox Sports Radio. The Seahawks
just got into the end zone and we're tied again
in Seattle. Yeah, Seahawks and Buccaneers noted up at tyone
a piece.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
It is red Zone Radio. End Zone Radio.

Speaker 2 (41:05):
And aj Barner catching the touchdown pass from Sam Darnold.
Extra point is good, So four to twelve left to
go on the third. What you said was the game
of the day, at least the game of this late window.
Buccaneers and Seahawks living up to it so far, planing
like two really good teams. They're fighting, counterpunching, you know,

(41:26):
doing what it takes to itch, claw, scratch staleway to
the victory. So twenty one to twenty one in Seattle.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
And I know how crazy and how loud that players
can get when that team is doing good, So it's
exciting to see.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
You know, they got a situation where this game could
have been moved depending on what was happening with the
Mariners game. The schedule played out, so if the Mariners
would have been playing right now when the Yankees and
Blue Jays were, this game would not have been able
to be played at this point. Because the stadiums are
right next to each other, they'll not be able to
accommodate it. But I guarantee there are many fans tonight

(42:02):
who are at Luminfield right now watching the Seahawks will
take off their Seahawks jacket and put on their Mariners sweatshirt.
And just walk next door and take in tonight's game.
Really you think that you think there pulling double hills? Absolutely, absolutely,
especially with the Mariners fans and wanting to take as
much advantage of this run by this team that you can. Yeah,

(42:26):
there's definitely I don't want to say many, but I
would say that more than a few are doing the
double dip.

Speaker 4 (42:33):
So you think somebody's being responsible enough at this first
game and only doing probably one beer.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
I'm not saying that I'm trying.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
To figure this.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
You can make it through this second game. Tonight will
be a different story, and hopefully Trek Scoobel doesn't make
one of people drink. People in Seattle want to drink.
But he's coming back home pitching tonight for the Tigers
and what should be an interesting game too. And you're
saying that the Yankees can come back in their SyRI
they're down too well, but they would have the next
two at home if the Mariners are down two in

(43:04):
this series. I know the twenty nineteen World Series was
won by the road team and every game between the
Astros and Nationals, but it would be a tough.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
Task if the Mariners don't get Game two tonight.

Speaker 4 (43:13):
Yeah, it'd be tough to lose two at home. The
Mariners need to win this game, but you're going against
the best pitcher I think in baseball in trix Scoobel.

Speaker 2 (43:21):
So it's going to be hard to do. And that's
why last night was so important for the Mariners. And
then they don't get that game and the Tigers end
up closing it out in eleven. But that's because you
knew what was on the horizon there that hey, we
kind of got to get this one. We'll see if
they are able to bounce back tonight in the other
American League Divisional Series, National League Divisional Series, getting the

(43:42):
day off, they'll resume their series tomorrow. Dodgors up one
o on the Phills, Brewers up one o on the Cubs.
Cubs took about eight innings off yesterday. I think Brewers
jumped out to a nine to one lead after two
innings and put it on cruise control the rest of
the way. During the baseball postseason, Streuss Made History is
the first brand ever on the Helmets family owned since
nineteen forty eight. Strauss Makes work where built to perform

(44:03):
smart pocket design, real comfort and durability, you can trust
from grit to glory. Gear up today at Strauss dot com.
That's str au Ss dot com. Now the Commanders are
on the move in their game against the Chargers. Tied
up by a ten apiece early on, three minutes gone
by in the second half, but now facing a second
and one from the Los Angeles eighteen yard line. So

(44:24):
the Commander's getting points at the end of the half,
now getting the football to come out in the second
half and doing so again without Terry McLaurin didn't make
the trip for this game for the Commanders, but Washington
getting Jayden Daniels back. So far, so good if you're
a Commander's fan.

Speaker 4 (44:39):
Yeah, we talked about at the end of the half.
The roughenance of the kicker penalty changed this game, the
complexion of this game. The Charges would have been up
seventeen to seven at that point going into the halftime.
Right now it was ten ten going to halftime off
that mistake, and then you get the ball back and
you keep the momentum going, and now Washington believes they
can win this game. So the Charges are in for
a battle at this point. And again that sin Sinnati game.

(45:00):
Jake Brown and did an uh he did something that
was miraculous. No, yeah, so it's cool. I was gonna
say he did it Jake Browning and that's not good.
Maybe we'll call it a geno Smith to ease the pain.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
But there you go. You mentioned it.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Another interception, this one setting the Lions up in Cincinnati
territory where they already have a fourteen to three lead.
Bengals getting the ball out of halftime and turn it
over less than fifty seconds into the contest or into
the second half, so Detroit now looking to go four
and one. We touched on it earlier. Not all is
lost with the Bengals. And if you're Cincinnati and you're

(45:36):
sitting there hoping for Joe Burrow to come back, which
is going to be weeks and a couple of months,
But I don't think all is lost. I know it
hasn't been good. Just don't turn the ball over. Carry,
just as simple as that. Chase Brown hasn't been able
to get going. We knew that the Bengals had an
issue on the offensive line, but if you just don't

(45:57):
turn the ball over, if you even punt, you're in
a better situation than you are with what Cincinnati and
Jake Browning has done to that team so far.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
I mean, obviously we know how good they have been
offensively with the guy who's their normal Starughter and Joe Burrow.
So I mean he can't even get the ball to
Higgins at all, Like Higgins has one catch, and he's
been i mean pretty much held in check for the
last three weeks. He's been in the in the position
to playing quarterback for this team. So it's bad quarterback play.

(46:25):
And this team isn't as bad as they're looking right now,
but right now it's looking pretty dire.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
This is, and this is builds an argument for paying
wide receivers and then paying two wide receivers on your team,
where if you don't have a quarterback to get either
of them the football, I have no idea how you're
going to win your football game.

Speaker 4 (46:44):
Right, And you put that much money into that, into
those two those three positions, right, I mean two positions
with the quarterback and the two receivers, and you can't
even protect them, or you can't if one of those
guys go out, You're just you're playing this way and
I know what.

Speaker 3 (46:57):
You want, Yeah, I know what you wanted. To say.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
I won't say it's network here.

Speaker 3 (47:03):
I won't say it. But now in trouble.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
The Lion's just converted a third and seven a pass
to aman Ross Saint Brown, so they're in the red zone.
Buccaneers thought they converted a third and seven, but a
penalty is going to make it third and twelve. I
think a legal formation on Tampa, so they are unable
to convert in that situation. They've got the ball near
midfield again. Tied with the Seahawks at twenty one. Well,
the Lions have it now, first and ten at the

(47:25):
fifteen yard line, trying to add. So they're fourteen to
three lead. We told you the Commanders knocking on the door.
It's a first and goal. Eleven minutes to go in
the third quarter, just four minutes gone by a tied
up at ten. Cardinals and Titans are underway again. The Titans,
I think are going to win a game this year.
Thought maybe it could surprise some people in coming in

(47:45):
week five. But Arizona up fifteen and now they've got
the ball in Tennessee territory driving right now. So everything
that cam Ward said last week is turned into uh
is continued to be true with Tennessee as they're down fifteen,
Commander's getting into the end zone. Bill Jacorey Krosky Merritt
with the touchdown run and the Buccaneers, who cares if
it's third and thirteen, Just throw it to a Mecca Buca.

(48:08):
He'll catch it and take it down to the two
yard line. It's crazy fifty yard pass play. Buccaneers knocking
out of the door, looking to add some more man
this Buccaneers offense, I mean Baker Mayfield and the way
he's playing and just distributing the ball.

Speaker 4 (48:21):
Man, it's it's so it's so beautiful to see. And
then obviously we see that Mecca Mecca's turned into this,
He's turned into primetime Jerry Rice right now. So it's
it's looking good for Tampa. Stops short on their first run.
Rashad White gets down to about the one yard line,
so it'll be second down in goal.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
Look good, play good. Right there you go.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
And there was a point where when the Buccaneers change
their uniforms from the creamsicle to the pewter uniforms. It
was really when they were turning over their their franchise.
Tony Dungee. There Warren sapp Derrek Brooks, John Lynch, Yeah,
defensive team. And then can you make the change couple
of years later bringing John Gruden and they win a

(49:04):
Super Bowl, And it's tough to say, like, yeah, we're
going to we're going to change our uniforms back to
the uniforms we wore for thirty for twenty years when
we were miserable. Now we've got this winning look of
the pewter and the dark red. But I'm glad that
Bucko Bruce is found a way and in a way,
I feel it's redemption for Bucko Bruce saying it was

(49:25):
the people in the uniforms, not the face and the
helmet that was the reason that why Tampa was playing
so poorly. We may have some extra curricular activities between
Leonard Williams of the Seahawks and other Tampa Bay players
in the end zone, Leonard Williams getting a personal foul,
so the second and goal from the one becomes a
first and goal from the half yard line, and now

(49:47):
Rashad White walks it in. Not the only score happening
right now, Lion's gunning in the end zone. Jamior Gibbs touchdown,
So the turnover turns into points for Detroit, now up
twenty one to three on.

Speaker 3 (49:59):
The Bengals in Cincinnati.

Speaker 4 (50:01):
Then, you know I've always talked about like I know
I'm done as a player, Like I couldn't even do
it if I wanted to. But I wish I could
go train right now and play with the Lion so
I can play against Jake Browning. Add to that, Yeah,
I'd have a good amount more added to that list.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
I know, like in golf when you're making putts and
the cup seems to be three feet wide, Yeah, everything is, everything's.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Going in, you're into the zone.

Speaker 2 (50:30):
The football for the Lions secondary must look like a
blimp right now, like like you cannot miss it when
Jake Browning is dropping back to pass kid. I'd love
to I'd love to say that we're being facetious. But
he's fourteen to twenty three for eighty six yards and
three interceptions so far in this game.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
And they're not even, they're not even.

Speaker 4 (50:50):
Like where he's trying to fit something in there and
it's a close contested throw and it gets tipped up
or whatever, and it's a great play.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
He's serving him up to the defenders. It's it's insane
at I don't know where they go.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
I don't know what because when Burrow got hurt, he
got hurt in week two, and even in that game
against Jacksonville when brought through interceptions, they still came back
to win it. It was not a broad in quarterback
sneak ends up winning the game for him. And when
Browning filled in for Joe Burrow previously, you know, more
than a season ago, in the twenty twenty three campaign,

(51:25):
he played very well. Yes, yeah, and so you thought
that the insurance was there for Cincinnati. I just don't
know what you'd do with these interceptions. I mean, there's
some guys that are brought Dylan Gabriel today I thought
played fine for the Browns. Is obviously a rookie, but
he doesn't have the play sheet that Jake Browning has.
But he's able to at least control the ball and

(51:46):
kept them in the game and there weren't any turnovers.
It's going to be difficult to beat the Lions. It's
going to be really difficult to be then when you
turn the ball over three times.

Speaker 4 (51:53):
Yes, and you just hit on something very very important there, right,
Dylan Gabriel and what we saw from him today was
the guy that was managing the game. They had an
intentional game plan. We got a great defense, We're gonna
run the ball, We're gonna give you easy completions and
make the game simple for that guy, Jake Brown. And
you have to make it simple for him too. I mean,

(52:14):
obviously he can play the position. We've seen it and
we've seen him not make mistakes. But right now he's
in one of those ruts where every time he's asked
to make a play, he can't make a play. It's
funny too with the Brons because in their loss to
the Vikings today, Quinn Shawn Judkins at least went over
one hundred yards. Seems to be a physical part of

(52:37):
that running game and a key cog in it. He
was not available to the team in week one because
of his off field issues and wasn't in camp, and
they didn't sign him to his deal as he was
going through the allegations of the domestics situation. So when
you're starting out the season like you look at today,
and it's not that Dylan Gabriel did anything that was

(52:58):
crazy good. He just didn't do any thing that was
crazy bad. Yes, and to your point, of being deliberate.
Now I'm saying, you're saying yourself, maybe, if you're a
Browns fan, maybe this should have been the plan from
the start of the season. He didn't have the physical
runner of Judkins. Now you have a little more of that.
But I think Dylan Gabriel showed that maybe that should

(53:18):
have been the plan all along. And then that's why
I remember I told you before the season started, I
was intrigued with the Browns because their defense is that good,
and so if they were able to run and find
a QB one who at first was Joe Flacco. You
think if he does what Dylan Gabriel did today and
not turned the ball over, that team could be a

(53:38):
factor in that division. Now I'm not saying every we're
going to win it at all, but not be where
they are right now.

Speaker 3 (53:44):
Yes, absolutely, he is carry roads.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
I'm Dan Byer Adam Kaplan our Fox Sports Radio and
fl Insider will join us next. You know, I tease
the Ravens at one and four right now after getting
blown out by the Texans.

Speaker 3 (53:55):
Is the season over for Baltimore? Oh? Dan, It's not over.
It's it's it's bad right now.

Speaker 4 (54:03):
I mean it's one and four, and now you made
a team because their defense is so bad. They made
a team that we just talked about a week ago.
Two weeks ago, we were talking about the Houston Texans
offense being being one of the worst in the league,
talking about how bad c J. Strow was, And today
he looked like the whole c J. Strow because that
Baltimore defense is that bad and I just don't understand

(54:25):
how it fell off to this point. Obviously had a
lot of injuries today and a lot of players didn't play.
But something schematically is is really wrong with what they're
doing the defense.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
Like I understand, you're not gonna win with Lamar, maybe
you're not gonna put up a lot of points. Maybe
Derrick Henry has lost a step, yes, but it always
felt that the Ravens worked in concert with each other
on both sides of the football, and it doesn't seem
like the defense is picking up their end of the deal.
So if Henry slips you, you don't love Lamar Jackson.
That's how you end up Wanning Cooper rush throw three
interceptions that won't help Texas defense, but still, yeah, not

(54:59):
much there in Baltimore. He is carrier out. I'm dan Byer,
Carry the All Pro and starter since day one. You
can find on Exit Carry twenty five roads. You can
find me at dan Byer on Fox. So this is
where it stands. Lions with that touchdown run from Jamior
Gibbs up twenty one to three on the Bengals and
now they're forcing a Cincinnati punt just five minutes into
the second half. Commanders up seventeen to ten on the Chargers.

(55:21):
Six minutes into the second half, Chargers facing a third
and twenty nine as they've backed themselves up. The Buccaneers
back on top of the Seahawks twenty eight to twenty
one in that contest in Seattle, end of the third quarter,
Mecca Buca having a day for Tampa Bay right now,
getting into the end zone and having that big catch earlier.
So it's twenty eight twenty one, Buccaneers on top of

(55:42):
the Seahawks and the Cardinals lead the Titans twenty one
to six. Well, ask anam kaplan his thoughts on how
the Ravens won and four start what it means for
the rest of the year. Plus the Eagles were dealt
their first loss of the season today at home to
the Denver Broncos. How did that transpire? That's next year
on end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (56:00):
Commanders and Chargers, first.

Speaker 3 (56:02):
And goal at the five, builds the back. Here's the
snap hand off Krusty marrat Cuss to the edge.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
They're not gonna get him again. He's a two tar
very get again. Bill Krusky Merrit touch down, touchdown.

Speaker 10 (56:15):
Washington back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (56:20):
Big one hundred Commanders Radio Network with a call Washington, Yes.
Kerry Yeap knocking on the door and again in the
red zone against the Chargers, five pointifty eight left to
go to the third. Commander's up seventeen to ten in
that game. In La Seahawks are knocking on the door,
driving early in the fourth quarter, but down seven to

(56:40):
the Buccaneers twenty eight to twenty one. Kyler Murray's in
the locker room, so Jacoby Brissett is on the field
for Arizona. There's an injury on the field, significant injury,
so there's a stoppage of play. But the Cardinals are
up twenty one to six in the third quarter of
that contest, and David Montgomery has just taking a handoff
from Jared Golf and rent it in and it's all Lions.

(57:01):
On top of the Bengals twenty eight to three eight
yard touchdown run for Montgomery back in Cincinnati extra point
was good. It's all Lions today. It's all Adam Kaplan
right now. Are Fox Sports Radio NFL Insider. You find
them on ex at Kaplan NFL. And it was not
all about the Birds, even though you can hear Adam
on the inside the Birds podcast as the Eagles were
dealt their first loss of the season today, Adam, how

(57:24):
did it go down to Philadelphia?

Speaker 5 (57:25):
You guys could be with you. Yes, so they had
won twenty half of their last twenty one games, including
the playoffs. But it's kind of weird, like there was
a thought around the club that you want to avoid it.
You know, it's a non conference game. You want to
avoid a letdown, and they didn't have one. When they
were up seventeen to three and they came out throwing,
they were very aggressive. This is what the players wanted.
And then they started to not execute the pass game.

(57:48):
They related it run the ball at all and then
the defense, which really carried the team really most of
the season, started having some problems. Bo Nix got hot
after really struggling with the first half, and I give
the Broncos credit shown some resolved that they really they
knew they needed this game to stay in it for
the AFC West to hang in there. They needed to
win this game and just get themselves righty. They've been

(58:08):
inconsistent season. It's gonna win for them. They it's not
easy to travel two time zones on a short week.
Remember they played Monday night. Typically you think the team's
going to travel is going to lose that game, and
it sure looked like that when they were down seventy
to teen to three. But it's not just this game today.
There's some There have been some odd games this week,
really starting with that Niners went at the Rams.

Speaker 4 (58:29):
Adam, So yeah, I mean, we know how good Philly's
been in one score game. They've been in eleven and
one here in their last twelve and for Denver to
come back down fourteen, go on to fifteen old run
to take the lead and kick that field goal late,
but also give Philly a little taste of their own
medicine in that last the four minute drive where they're
able to execute get a call here and there to

(58:52):
kind of prolong the drive and put Philly in a
bad position. How did Philly? You know, I guess is
it a loss that they're they're okay with? I know,
I know losses. Aren't you never okay with them? Are
they okay with them?

Speaker 5 (59:06):
No? But what it is, Curry, is that they It
wasn't as though they were let's say they were down
twenty to nothing and they would come back and make
close but lose. Where you go, Okay, Well, clearly the
team was flat. They weren't really flat like that's a
good thing. And you know, the back here, it's been
everything's been about the past game. What's been the problem
with it?

Speaker 11 (59:23):
Now?

Speaker 5 (59:24):
I say that the run game has been awful this season.
It's almost historically bad for the franchise, whereas they were
the best in NFL history last season through the Super
Bowl with Barkley. It's kind of odd, it's been. It's
sort of odd that yet they really should have won
the game and gone to five and zero. But the
thing is, when you lose, Curry, as you know that,
you start looking at your team harder, and they will.

(59:45):
Now they play a Giants team that blew at fourteenth
three lead and we got outscored twenty three to nothing.
The Giants are real and that's the game they had
to have to even make their season interesting. And they
had a terrible loss at New Orleans Day and they're
on a show week the host Egles on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (59:58):
It's I just get this said that the Eagles probably
should be four and one at this point, and I
would say.

Speaker 5 (01:00:04):
When they played yeah, Dan, actually you could make the
case at the two. Yeah, they haven't really played well.
But guys, I let me just give you a little
nugget from my training camp tour. So every year when
I travel, I ask mostly personnel executives, you know, what
are your thoughts in the season, who you like, what
you in terms of the off season would you like?
And the kind of thought that these teams had was, you.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
Know, we don't.

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
I don't really see a team that's really dominant this year. Yeah, well,
you know what, that's true. There aren't. Look, the Bills
and Eagles were the only two teams to be undefeated
going into this week, and not just the Bills until
they play tomorrow night against when they host the Patriots.
But there are any great teams. It's it's still pretty
like honestly, look the that Niners game. I can't believe

(01:00:46):
they won that game. I admit I got that one wrong.
I didn't see that coming. But look the Seahawks, I
thought today would roll kind of over beat up Tampa
Bay team, and it's been an exciting game. I didn't
expect that. The cool thing is when when talking league
about it, they want this so called competitive bounce, so
they don't like the word parody, well getting competitive bounce
because there there are no dominant teams this season.

Speaker 11 (01:01:07):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:01:07):
I would also say as well, Adam Kaplan our Fox
Sports Rainio NFL ins that are joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio, that you don't want to peak in
week five. So for teams that aren't, you know, at
some point maybe they can turn it on. I do
want to give an update from Arizona because Kyler Murray
is back into the game. The severe leg injury suffered
by Tip Ryman actually gave Murray some time to get
back into the game as he was dealing with a

(01:01:29):
foot issue, and the Seahawks have tied it up with
the Buccaneers. Monty'll have an update for us in about
seven minutes or so of breaking things down again. Adam
Kaplan joining us here on end Zone Radio on Fox
Sports Radio. Hit him up at Kaplan NFL. Dylan Gabriel
was all right in his first start? Is should this

(01:01:49):
move have been made sooner for Cleveland even though they
lose to the Vikings in London?

Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
I would say, Dan, it was kind of obvious that
Flacco had to be benched. He just simply didn't have it. Now,
there are a couple of things. They don't have a
left tackle. They're on the third left tackle. That that's
a problem that Jack Conkin, the right tackles miss time.
Remember Judkins, their first round pick had to be reinstated.
You know, they got that legal issue cleared up. They're
just a limited team offensively. Gabriel is a stop gap.

(01:02:17):
He's you know, he's a pretty good app He's a
smaller quarterback. He could be efficient. He was efficient today,
there's no question. But you can't ask him to win
games for you. That's not going to work. But the
big store with carts and Wentz didn't turn it over,
brought the team back, did a good job in fact
the game before also overseas. The problem with him was
he turned it over three times, so he brought that.

(01:02:38):
He brought the team back, but they would wind up losing.
I'll be interested to see how they handle this thing.
They're three and two. Wentz, by the way, he looks healthy.
We know that McCarthy is the quarterback in the future.
That's not and that's not in discussion. But it's like,
you know, Wentz hasn't played badly. They have a buy now.
They got to McCarthy over his high ankle sprain. I'm
interested to see how how Kevin O'Connell, they head coach

(01:03:01):
and play caller, handles it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:02):
Adam, did you ever think there would be a point
this season where the Ravens would be a get right
right game?

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
That that was?

Speaker 5 (01:03:10):
You know, it's so funny. Carry I you know, I
do television for sports great and I said, guys, if
the Texans can't win this game, they probably will not
win a game this season. They had set The Ravens
had seven starters out Carry on your on your point,
and they're really bad. You know, Zach Orr is the
second youngest defense coordinating the National Football League. He went
through a tough time last season and got really turned around.

(01:03:31):
They're really bad on defense, but they have so many
guys hurt. John Harball sometimes could be impatient as a
head coach. I hope that he's got Zach Orr's back.
Who again, he's thirty three years old. You got to
you might remember as a as a linebacker for the Ravens.
They got to be patient with him. It's not he
can't control all the injuries. And by the way, they
say offensive players now, they're not going to go to
the playoffs. I think one team at one and four

(01:03:53):
has made the playoffs with the last thirty five year
or something like that, So obviously they're not going to
go to the playoffs. And look Pittsburgh right now, at
I didn't. I picked them to be a wildcard, but
I did not pick them to win that division. I
did pick the Ravens. So and by the way, the
Ravens were my Super Bowl pick. How they oops?

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
Where?

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
I mean, you mentioned the injury list just for this
game was a who's who? It truly was. But is
Kerry and I were.

Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
Talking about earlier?

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
You know what, maybe Derrick Henry isn't the same. Derrick
Henry doesn't seem like I mean, there's no Ronnie Stanley
today either. I'm just curious about the personnel on defense,
like is it all Zach Gore? How much is it
on Eric DaCosta? And in the front office because Ray
Lewis isn't walking through that door. Ed Reid's not walking
through that door. Like they just don't seem to have

(01:04:41):
the guys like I love Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey. Yes,
but who are the guys in that that front seven
that are going to be able to, you know, change
things and turn things around for the Ravens.

Speaker 5 (01:04:51):
Well, van Neui had been hurd he just got back,
so that that's part of it. Him missing times. He's
been a really good story. Hamilton didn't play to a
goin Entry. Oh by the way, Jay r Alexander had
not played until today because of conditioning issues. On your point, Dan,
So they've been without a number of players and Hamilton,
did you know. Hamilton's a guy if you recall, he

(01:05:13):
got off to a very bad start to his career.
Then they changed his position second year. They made him
purely it's a safety instead of a box safety, and
he became an elite player. So they got to figure
things out. It's unfortunate now with Lamar Jackson's groin injury,
they're they're they're a Cooper Rush by the way, did
not play well. In fact, he was terrible against the
Eagles last year. They're just bad And it's kind of

(01:05:35):
hard to believe this league. And by the way, we
didn't even mentioned the Colts. Guys. The biggest surprise to
me by far the Indianapolis Colts. I didn't see anything
like this, Oh for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:05:44):
I mean, that's that's our crazy that's our Cinderella team
right now, me and Day and both local Colts.

Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
But you talk about it.

Speaker 4 (01:05:51):
I'm still on the Ravens just a little bit longer
at him because there's I mean, obviously, you just said it.
You think they're done for the year. I still don't
think they're done. I mean, people aren't you just said it.
There's so much parody in the league, right and so
I don't think there's anybody that's pulling away. Obviously there
they can beat three games out of the division if

(01:06:11):
Pittsburgh wins or whatever next But I just don't know,
you know what I mean, like, who who are the
seven teams that you're picking to be the playoff teams
right now?

Speaker 5 (01:06:20):
Right now? In the AFC? If we if we're repicking Buffalo. Obviously,
the Colts again another team I didn't see, so you
have to pick them. They're shoeing to win that well,
they're not shoeing. Jacksonville might hang in there, but Jacksonville
there was a nice one against beat up San Francisco team.
I'm not there yet. I like the Colts winning, but
we'll go Buffalo, Indy. Pittsburgh's got to get in. Yeah,

(01:06:45):
I'll tell I'll tell you this. No, it's it's on
Carrie's point. He makes a fair point though. If you
really go through a Carrie ask big a question as
you go through it, it's hard to other than four teams,
it's kind of wide open. But Baltimore are so bad
right now, it's hard to imagine with with their injuries.
Some are going to be longer. Lamar with his injury

(01:07:05):
now if you look at but before we move on, guys,
the Baltimore's got to host the Rams next week. That'll
be a tough game that Baltimore could maybe heal up
during the week seven. By then they've got the Bears
and the Dolphins and maybe they could start wheeling them off.
I still say, look again, going back thirty five years
the numbers would tell you that they they're just not
going to make the playoff.

Speaker 2 (01:07:22):
Well, and I would say this Adam Kaplan, NFL ins
that are joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Take the division winners. Let's say Pittsburgh wins the division.
That's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Yeah, the wild Cards just say, let's just say Chiefs Broncos.
If the Chargers win AFC les there's two. Then you
have New England in the game tonight. Who Kerrie Will
picked New England last week to win this game tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:07:42):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Yeah, I wish to be Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
I am beat Buffalo. I am why that team is
better than you think.

Speaker 4 (01:07:47):
Drake May is in complete control of that offense, and
the last three games I think is passive.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Waiting has been over here. He's been great.

Speaker 10 (01:07:54):
No, he is.

Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
Let me tell you something. This is a guy for
the draft. Last year, the already the people who greated
him did not like him at all. Doesn't play with instructure,
he's he plays with a lot of energy, but made
a lot of dumb mistakes. And I got to give
a look. I thought he was better. He was a
little better than we expected last year. I know, talking

(01:08:17):
to the Patriots this new staff that came in. They
thought he was better than they anticipated because they a
lot of them had watched his college tape and didn't
really like it all that much. And now they've got
him on a control. By the way, Josh mcjalones, you
could say what you want, he's not. He's a bad
head coach, but he knows how to coach quarterbacks. He's
done a very good job with Drake May so far.

Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
Okay, last one for him before we let ego because
you referenced what happened on Thursday night.

Speaker 3 (01:08:38):
Is mac Jones going to be a starter again in
the national.

Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
Well, okay, so he looked. Brock Perdy is their guy.
But let me tell you something. Look mac Jones and Belichick.
Here's the real story, I'm told So mac Jones and
Belichick had a terrible relationship. Bill mac Jones kind of
went behind his back and did some things and their
communication was terrible. So Mac max helf destructed. Belchick didn't

(01:09:01):
help it. But you're looking at a guy Kyle Shanahan
who knows how to coach quarterbacks. It didn't work with
Trey Lance, but you saw what he did with Garoppolo
and Rock Purty and it's working with Max Jones. Back
Jones by the way, Kyle Shahan, he loved Brocker. Excuse
me Mac Jones for that draft when when when Mac
Jones came out. So he now has them and it's

(01:09:24):
working out and he kind of saved them. I am
I just it shows goes. It's like with your Seahawks
today with the Buccaneers, just because the team is beat
up doesn't mean that they can't compete with great coaching
and Todd Bowles. I give them credit. They got handled
this week by Philly kind of made it closer than
should have been. And they're they're they're they're mentally tough.
That that is amazing to me that the Seahawks are

(01:09:45):
letting the Bucks compete like they are. But that's a
heck of a game today.

Speaker 3 (01:09:47):
Yeah, Micha Buca, Baker Mayfield showing that connection.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
He's Adam Kaplan, our Fox Sports Radio NFL insider Adam
came went to talk to in weeks. It's good up
back Kaplin NFL. He's Carry Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer. Monty
Belanios has the latest tie game in Seattle. But now
the Seahawks packed up at their own basically half yard
line in a good game between the Bucks and Seahawks.

Speaker 12 (01:10:09):
I'm just annoying with the Chargers. Yeah, so Seahawks. I'll
get there in a second. Seahawks tied the game against
the Bucket.

Speaker 3 (01:10:15):
Do what she wants to do.

Speaker 13 (01:10:16):
Yeah, Sam Darnold connected with aj Barner and that's how
the game is tied.

Speaker 12 (01:10:21):
Buccaneers have given the ball.

Speaker 13 (01:10:23):
Yeah, Seahawks currently have the balls twenty eight twenty eight,
with about seven minutes to go in the game. Cardinals
over the ties twenty one to six. They just got
going in the fourth quarter. Bengals are in the red zone.

Speaker 14 (01:10:33):
They're trying to get in there.

Speaker 13 (01:10:35):
Lines are up twenty eight to three after three quarters,
but the Bengals are in the red zone at Detroit's
fifteen yard line. It's of burst and ten there. Chargers, man,
you know, started off the first quarter scoring ten points.
Since then, it's been fumble, punt, punt. They just went
for it on fourth and two, didn't get it. I
Commander's up to the Chargers twenty to ten, one minute
to cooling the third quarter.

Speaker 12 (01:10:56):
It is very very annoying. The Eagles lost our first game.

Speaker 13 (01:11:00):
Is you guys just mentioned Broncos had to score eighteen
points in the fourth quarter to win it, and they
did twenty one to seventeen. Panthers came back to defeat
the Dolphins twenty seven to twenty four, and the Saints
got their first win of the season, beating the Giants
twenty five to fourteen. Listen, don't call it a comeback,
but the Yankees did score five runs in the seventh inning,
So the Blue Jays are up right now thirteen to

(01:11:22):
seven bottom of the seventh inning.

Speaker 12 (01:11:24):
But don't let the Yankees do that five runs in
one inning. That is not great.

Speaker 13 (01:11:28):
When it comes to the AP College Football Poll, well,
number nine now is Texas Tech, and they cracked the
top ten for the first time since two thousand and eight.

Speaker 12 (01:11:37):
Iowa State took the biggest.

Speaker 13 (01:11:39):
Fall out of any team that remained in the top
twenty five. They fell eight spots to number twenty two
after losing to Cincinnati. Penn State and Texas fell completely
out of the top twenty five for the first time
since twenty twenty two because of their losses.

Speaker 12 (01:11:52):
This past week.

Speaker 13 (01:11:53):
The top five Ohio State, Miami, Oregon, Mississippi, Texas A.

Speaker 8 (01:11:57):
And m back to you, guys, we may have another
fumble Gates in Arizona.

Speaker 2 (01:12:03):
Amari de Mercado breakaway touchdown the early celebration, I just
get it. Lu Jerrus need was coming around to try
to cause the fumble, but it's just a matter of
as de Mercado was entering the end zone, kind of
flip the football away just as he was crossing.

Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
We need pylon cam for this one. I think.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
I think pylon cam is going to give us the
answer on whether the Cardinals will extend their lead or
it will be a touchback in a game that the
Cardinals right now are easily handling against the Titan Dan, how.

Speaker 4 (01:12:38):
Does this continue to happen? Like, I don't get it.
Just run in the end zone and make sure you're in.

Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
I don't have an answer for you. I honestly don't like.
Just run and hand it to someone right.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
Do to old Barry Sanders, yes, man, Or come up
with a celebration that forces you to use the football
so you don't let it go when you celebrate. Right,
stick the stick that should be the one that should
be the one. It's baseball season. Pretend you're throwing a
pitch to someone that way, you won't just throw it
against the wall or just drop it as you're trying

(01:13:12):
trying to score. This is what we've got in Seattle.
So we told you the Seahawks were backed up on
their own one yard line, not anymore. Kenneth Walker a
big play. Sam Donald has just hit Jackson Smith and
Jigba and now we've got a roughing the passer penalty
on a call against Sam Donald, which I don't know
if it's really roughing the passer. This is There was
another call in the Saints Giants game today that grabs

(01:13:34):
some headlines on what was roughing the passer on what wasn't.
Donald wasn't hitting the head at all. In fact, he
wasn't even tackled. He didn't even go to the ground.
So it wasn't even like the leveraging and driving someone
into the into the ground. That wasn't the case. But
the Seahawks now up on tied with the Buccaneers with
five minutes to go in Tampa territory, first and ten,

(01:13:55):
twenty nine yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Tampa does have all three of their timeouts.

Speaker 4 (01:13:58):
Talk about the game of the day, Dan, I mean
two teams a fight in twenty eight twenty eight for
five minutes left in the game. Both quarterbacks are dueling.
At one point before this drive, Sam Donnald was twenty
four to twenty eight and Baker with twenty five or
twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
So both guys going at it.

Speaker 4 (01:14:13):
And the crazy part about that, Dan, they were both
on the same team in Carolina, so I was like, we.

Speaker 3 (01:14:19):
Don't want either one.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
They had their franchise quarterback there.

Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
That great, great point and it's a battle of Ohio
state wide receivers with the Mecca Abuca and Jackson Smith
and Jigba going toe to toe with the receiving yards.
Here's what's happening in Cincinnati, Jamar Chase a touchdown reception. Yeah,
all right, the Bengals getting into the end zone. Extra
point is good, but it's all Lions twenty eight to
ten early in the fourth quarter. The Chargers getting a

(01:14:43):
stop early in the fourth quarter, but the Commanders still
up ten. And now the review on the Cardinals touchdown.
Are there is a skycamview? Would you call that a touchdown?
I know, if you're listening to us right now, you
don't have the ability to see the play.

Speaker 4 (01:15:01):
Was it a touchdown? Did he cross your mind? I
think he did from that angle. That sky angle looked
like it did.

Speaker 3 (01:15:09):
They ruled it a fumble touchdown off the board. Wo
cam Ward and.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
The Titans, I guess have life. They're down twenty one
to sixteen, but it could have been much worse. I
think there's some people in Las Vegas and other parts
of the world that may be very interested in that touchdown.
All right, he's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer, Carry the
eight year vet and all pro and starter from day one.
Seahawks failed to get a third and two, so now
fourth and two likely having to settle for three with

(01:15:35):
three twenty five left to go. Find them at Carry
twenty five Roads. You can find me at dan Byer
on Fox look at your fantasy missus. Next on end
Zone Radio on Fox Sports.

Speaker 10 (01:15:43):
Radio, Buccaneers at Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
Sam's gonna look, Sam's gonna get hit.

Speaker 15 (01:15:49):
Sam's gonna throw Sam tout down, say Hawks, fory orton Sam,
turnold you wild man.

Speaker 10 (01:15:58):
You back to Dan Byer and Carry Rhoads.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Seahawks Radio Network. But Baker Mayfield is trying to answer
that score. But the Seahawks up extra point was good.
It's thirty five twenty eight Seahawks on top of Tampa,
but Baker Mayfield has got the Buccaneers at the Seahawks
twenty yard line, first and ten two minutes to go.
Both teams have all three of their timeouts. Chargers knocking
on the door right now. Down ten to the Commanders.

(01:16:24):
It's a first in goal and there's about eight and
a half minutes left to go in the contest, so
Chargers trying to get into the end zone to make
it a one score game. It's not a one score
game in Arizona. It could have been if the Titans
would have made the extra point. Tony Pollard a one
yard touchdown run after the de Mercado letting the ball
loose before he went into the goal into the end zone.

(01:16:47):
Titans got the football back, drove down, scored twenty pollered
one yard touchdown run, but the extra point was no good.
So the Cardinal's up twenty one to twelve on the Titans,
and the Lions continue to lead the Bengals twenty eight
to ten with under twelve minutes to go in Cincinnati,
and the Chargers now unable to get in so they're
gonna have a third down and goal. Manzi is freaking out.
She's gonna give us a few fantasy numbers and then

(01:17:10):
we'll try to calm her down after that. Take it away, Manzi, Yeah.

Speaker 12 (01:17:14):
I'm gonna throw up.

Speaker 13 (01:17:15):
All right, let's start with some fantasy hits or missus.

Speaker 12 (01:17:19):
Excuse me. We did the hits earlier. We'll do some
misses right now.

Speaker 13 (01:17:21):
With quarterbacks, you know, a couple teams with buys, so
maybe you had to play people you weren't expecting.

Speaker 12 (01:17:26):
Maybe you played Gino Smith No One on.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
He gave you five points.

Speaker 13 (01:17:30):
He threw for two hundred and twenty eight yards, no touchdowns,
two interceptions, Thank you, Gino.

Speaker 12 (01:17:35):
Bryce. Believe it or not, there is no bit.

Speaker 13 (01:17:38):
I mean, maybe some of the quarterbacks in this window
of games, but believe it or not, the next lowest
quarterback from today's games that have already been completed was
Bryce Young and he had fifteen points, so there's a
big gap here. He threw for one hundred and ninety
eight yards, two touchdowns. He did have one interception. When
it comes to the wide receivers, Wan Dale Robinson, you know,
no ma leak neighbors, so maybe he was gonna do something,

(01:18:00):
you know, eight points, five catches for thirty yards. That
was it, Jacoby Myers, you know, no brock Bowers. Maybe
he was gonna do a little some seven points, four
catches for thirty two points for thirty two yards. When
it comes to the running backs, you know Derek Henry,
A lot of people are like, just give Dereck Henry
the ball. Yeah, they didn't do that. Nine points, fifteen
carries thirty three yards. He did have a touchdown, but
fifteen carries for thirty three yards is pretty much all

(01:18:21):
he did. And even though the Saints got their first win.
Alvin Kamara, he only gave you eight points. He only
had eight carries for twenty seven yards. He did have
four catches, but also for only twenty eight yards.

Speaker 12 (01:18:31):
Did you charge your score? No, of course not.

Speaker 1 (01:18:34):
It did not.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Justin Herbert pass, oh good, that was deflected and then
intercepted by Mike.

Speaker 3 (01:18:40):
Did he didn't have one yard?

Speaker 12 (01:18:41):
Oh good? Oh good?

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
I will say this though the Buccaneers did score. Sterling
Shepherd is into the end zone. Buccaneers had thought about
going for two. But Baker Mayfield's now on the sideline
with a minute eight left to go.

Speaker 3 (01:18:52):
You say, Sterling Shepherd, Yes, good for him. Yeah, good, No, seriously,
good for that guy. He's had a ton of injuries.
Good for him.

Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
He was never the same since the boat party with
the Giants, Right, That's one of the many faces. Sam
Donald's gonna have a buck eight to try to get it.
Who knows Baker Mayfield make get the football back? Yeah, Mancy,
the Commanders still lead your Chargers twenty to ten. Oh,
Jamar Chase. Jamar Chase getting into the end zone again.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
Maybe the Jake brown In experience.

Speaker 12 (01:19:29):
He heard you giving him credit. He heard you.

Speaker 14 (01:19:31):
He's like Carrie is saying, I can do the job.

Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
He said it.

Speaker 14 (01:19:35):
He has national on a national stasion.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
I got to deliver the Jake Browning. First half was missing,
second half not so much. Jamar Chase is going to
have a nice day for you fantasy wise, So at
least there's that for you. But it shows what could
be with the Bengals and why it's not all lost.
I like the Bengals opportunity Monzi.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
I don't know if you agree.

Speaker 2 (01:19:55):
Carry likes the Ravens, but I still think the Bengals
have a chance to win the AFC North.

Speaker 12 (01:20:00):
I think so too, just because you just said it.
Jake Brown can't do it.

Speaker 13 (01:20:03):
It just seems to me like you've got to fix
up your plan here in the scheme for him, help
him out a little bit. Yes, but that was a
sixty four yard touchdown pass to Jamar Chase like they
I think so too, And I just don't know what
the Ravens. When is Lamar Jackson going to be okay
and all those other questions. So I think the Bengals.

Speaker 14 (01:20:22):
Maybe have a slight edge to sneak in there.

Speaker 4 (01:20:24):
Yeah, it's just crazy, like we talk about, like saying
teams are done in history. Yes, one in four you
don't make the playoffs, ram, but now you have an
extra game. It's not the same as that sixteen game
for Matt either.

Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
So yeah, it does make the world of difference.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
Hit her up at Monzi Bellagials find carry at Carrie
twenty five Roads. You can find me at Dan Meyer.
On Fox, Shame Morgan guards Our executive producer Mary mac Art,
technical producer. Sam Darnold's got a minute to win it
for the Seahawks. We'll tell you if he does it.
Next on Fox and the Power of Bucko, Bruce lifts
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a thirty eight to thirty

(01:20:59):
five victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle Wow. Chase
McLaughlin the game winning field goal with no time left,
thirty nine yards out. The kick was great, but it
was the third down run by Rashad White on third
and seven that allowed the Buccaneers to get a first down,
run down the clock and kick this game winner to
go to four and one.

Speaker 4 (01:21:19):
Yeah, we were debating if Tampa would be aggressive and
pass the ball there and go and win the game.
They didn't have to. They ran the ball against us
usually stout Seattle defense and got the first down and
went down and they milked out the time and kicked
the game win the field goal, huge win for Tampa.

Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
His game started out slow. Tampa had a six to
nothing lead for a little while and then all heck
broke loose and it was the Sam Donald against Baker
Mayfield showdown, Carrie pointing out that they were teammates at
one point in Carolina, now putting out a show on
the Pacific Northwest. But it was an interception by Donald
Antoine Winfield Junior coming in on a blitz, forcing the pressure.

(01:21:59):
Donald got rid of it. Unfortunately it hit the for
the Seahawks case, hit the helmet of a Buccaneers lineman
tipped off and Tampa Bay intercepted it in Seattle territory,
setting them up for that game winning kick.

Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
Extremely unfortunate. I mean Sam Donald was balling today and
was really in control of this game and the offense
and was putting up big points in yards and for
the interception that happened that way, bouncing off a teammate tailman,
It's just it sucks.

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
It really does for the three and two Seahawks, but
really good for the four and one Buccaneers. When we
always make fun of people going down the schedules in preseason, Yes,
this is what's going to be their record. But for
those that did it with the Buccaneers, I would think
that the game in Seattle was probably a loss just
because of travel. Then you throw everything on top of it.

(01:22:50):
Of the players that they didn't have, we knew they
wouldn't have Mike Evans, Bucky Irving was unavailable, but they
still get it done. Baker Mayfield in the thick of
things for MVP conversation.

Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Yeah, sorry, good.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
It's just a great, great win for Tampa. Sitting there
at four and one, which right now puts you at
the top of the NFC.

Speaker 4 (01:23:10):
Yeah, we were talking about people and quarterbacks that aren't
ex factors for their team or doesn't can't hide the
warts of a team. But we're talking about Baker Mayfield
at this point being a what coverer because as bad
as that team is injured and some of the key
players of being out, they haven't missed a beat and

(01:23:30):
they're scoring points and it's not like they're being dominating
on defense. And he's been a game manager. No, he's
a game winner right now, and it's been impressive. In
another game that we thought may have been over, it
is not. The Titans have scored Tyler Lockett getting a
touchdown pass from cam Ward. They kicked the extra point
to make it a two point game. Arizona style facing

(01:23:51):
a third and one up twenty one to nineteen on
the Titans a third and one from their own twenty
nine yard line with about three and a half minutes
to go and counting in that contest, so the Titans
trying to get off the field, they do have all
three of their timeouts, Arizona was able to convert, getting
a first down Michael Carter on the run, so Arizona

(01:24:13):
will get a fresh set of downs, but they're gonna
need another first down to be able to really feel safe,
probably two to feel safe as well, because he got
a two minute warning coming up.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
But that game was twenty one to six when Amari
de Mercado broke will lose for a seventy two yard
touchdown run until he dropped the ball at the half
yard line, giving the ball to the Titans. And it's
been all Titans since.

Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
And we talked about it again, Dan, like, these games
changed so fast and plays that again, it can be
one play, it can be a play that's not as
dramatic as that one, but the game contains really quickly
and momentum switches really quickly. So these guys that are
dropping the ball early, when we just saw it last
week with.

Speaker 3 (01:24:54):
The Colts, right, it changed that game.

Speaker 4 (01:24:55):
And so these teams got to learn how to figure
out to close and not think that's the other part
of learning how to be a winner. You got to learn
how to close. With these games out in Arizona right now,
shouldn't be in this situation.

Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
Think of just what happened on Thursday night, not even
in not similar situations. But as fans, as fantasy players,
as those who may like to place a wager here
or there, nothing is given. In the National Football League,
nothing is given. And you look at Kien Williams about
to go into the end zone on Thursday night, right

(01:25:27):
foregone conclusion, heading In loses the football Rams then have
another opportunity to redeem themselves in overtime. Couldn't get the
yard like those things that you can't take for granted. Yeah,
and that's why right now it is anything butt over
in Arizona with the Cardinals holding on to a twenty
one nineteen lead on the Titan. So the Buccaneers beat

(01:25:47):
the Seahawks thirty eight to thirty five. What's happening in
the other two games? The Lines have scored again, Jared
Goff a touchdown passed to Isaac Taslaw, so the Lines
have extended their lead to thirty five to seventeen. Bengal's
kind of getting back into it. But now there's five
o eight left in that contest. And in Los Angeles,
is there a way to explain what happened to the

(01:26:10):
Chargers today? I mean, justin Herbert has been under pressure.
You don't have Joe allt you lost for SHN Slater,
you now lost Tomari and Hampton, who has seen limping
on the sidelines. So they've had to turn over the
run game just ten points on the board against the Commanders,
who are up ten now with three minutes to go
in in Chargers territory, likely shelting away of victory for Washington.

Speaker 4 (01:26:32):
We're going to have two. It seems like we're going
to have two LA teams that are that shouldn't be
three and two that are three and two. I mean,
both of those teams have been given away some games
they should have won. And so when you get behind
the eight ball like this, and now all of a
sudden as well in the AFC West, with Denver winning
and then Kansas City starting to sing like dead, turn
the corner again. Now that division's up up for grabs again.

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Cardinals on a third and eight ran the football. Now
it's fourth down. The reason why I sound so surprised
is because there was no reason to run the football.
The two minute warning was coming up. Titans weren't going
to use their timeout, and so they ended up running
a play. And now it's fourth and seven and the
Titans have a timeout, and the Cardinals are gonna have

(01:27:17):
to punt it back to cam Warden the.

Speaker 4 (01:27:18):
Titan, and the Titans are going to win today. You
just talked about it, you said this is the.

Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Week right, Well, listen, we're talking about the Titans here. Yes,
we're talking about a team that again at twenty one
to twelve, and they missed an extra point.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
So if they would have.

Speaker 2 (01:27:34):
Made the extra point when Tyler Lockett scored previously, they
could have gone for two to maybe tie it. Nothing
is a given, and just considering what we've said in
the past three minutes, nothing is a given. But cam
Ward's going to have an opportunity to drive down and
maybe pull off some heroics in this game in Arizona, which,
by the way, at the start of our show two

(01:27:55):
hours and eight minutes ago was it wasn't even close
to how that game was fourth on our importance Seahawks
and Buccaneers. Wasn't even a great game at that point,
but still it turned out into a great game. Commanders
and Chargers had our attention, and then the Lions and
Bengals for what could happen in Cincinnati, But the Titans
and Cardinals have saved the day. With some exciting football

(01:28:16):
and outcam Ward's going to get an opportunity. Let's go, yeah, yeah,
to get win number one. They need they need it,
they need it badly. They've got a in that division.

Speaker 10 (01:28:27):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
When you see the Colts playing better and the Texans
doing what they did against the Ravens today, they're better
some people like Jacksonville tomorrow night against the Chiefs. So
the AFC South isn't as easy as you would think.
And so when you're the Titans, the wins we knew
were going to come few and far between. But if
you don't get this one today, Whi's maybe sitting now
in your grasp, it'll be difficult to see. They've got

(01:28:49):
the Saints later on in the season in a game
that could be a winnable for them, but it's not
going to be easy for cam Ward to try to
check off that box of getting win number one.

Speaker 4 (01:28:58):
Well, listen, I don't I actually I actually want the
Titans to win so the Jets can be exclusively and
er and five and have some type of distinction going on.

Speaker 3 (01:29:09):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (01:29:12):
Now, if you are trying to get someone fired, I
can understand, but they're not going to fire, Aaron Glenn,
No changing the culture. You knew that this is happening.
You knew that there was going to be a change
with the Jets, and it's just taking a little bit
slower than usual. That's nice, man, I'm just trying, just
trying to be trying to be kind here. So the
Commander's knocking on the door now, second and eight from

(01:29:32):
the Chargers nine yard line. Again, they're up ten in
this contest, and the Chargers are now out of timeout,
so all you've got is the two minute warning. Still
for the Commander's sake, I'm sure they'd like to put
it into the end zone. If you can make it
a three score game, that you don't have to worry
about anything crazy happening at the end here. But Washington
seems to be in control, So the Cardinals are going

(01:29:55):
to punt it away to cam Warden the Titans, who
again have one time out, we'll take it over first
and ten at their own nineteen yard line. As for
the Lions and Bengals, it's a thirty five to seventeen
lead for the Lions. Jake Browning running down to about
the two yard line got leveled, but the the Bengals
will have a first in goal trying to erase some

(01:30:18):
of their eighteen point deficit.

Speaker 4 (01:30:20):
Like, what is Jake Brown doing? Get out of bounds, slide,
do something, don't take that hit. See that's what I'm saying.
That's the Jake Brown experience. Dan, Like he does something
good and then he just does something bone hit like that,
which you're already you know. There has to not be
another quarterback that can play at all, but the way
he's throwing in this episoence, So don't.

Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
Put yourself in that situation.

Speaker 2 (01:30:40):
Yes, people are wondering who's gonna be the Bengals third quarterbacks.
With runs like that, they may find out sooner rather
than later. So the Titans again have the football first
and ten and short past to Tony Pollard gets out
of bounds. They're gonna be in four down territory. I
know they missed the extra point. Your indoors on a
relatively flat surface in Arizona, so you can probably have

(01:31:03):
a little bit better opportunity to kick one from distance
if you need it, if you're Tennessee. So they need
to get about forty yards in a minute forty seven here,
they'll have four downs to be able to try to
accomplish that.

Speaker 4 (01:31:14):
Man, this will be this will be such a bad
loss for the Cardinals. I mean we know that they've
I mean last week against Seattle they had a chance,
they made a comeback and had a chance to win it,
but didn't get it done. And then this one right here. Man,
we were talking about their schedule early and we were
talking about teams that they should win and games they
should win. This should be one of them. If they

(01:31:34):
lose this game, it'd be very, very detrimental to their season.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Jake Browning's so going a touchdown pass to t Higgins,
So thirty five twenty three with the point after attempt
coming up at some point on this Titans draw. That's
in the Bengals Lions game. Ken Moore's probably gonna have
to make a play with his legs here. And I
think that's how if you're Tennessee, that's how you break
it down. You have the one time out. Yeah, so
if you see something you can get cam Ward on

(01:31:58):
the move. I think that's where you're gonna get some
chunk yards because right now, Arizona's just been letting the
Titans dink and dunk with a couple of passes short,
and Carrie, you just kind of flinched on that one
as it looked like does it look like cam Ward
threw into Harm's way on a little outroute.

Speaker 4 (01:32:15):
Yeah, he was throwing it out of bounds, and good good,
I'm glad that he did, because if you were throwing
an accurate ball there, it would have been a pick
for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:32:22):
So second down and ten Bengals, by the way, go
for the extra point. So it's thirty five twenty four
to make it an eleven point contest with three zero
one Cincinnat. It's got two timeouts left in that game
and the two minute warning, so they'll have to get
a stop on defense here. As for the Commanders, got
it down to the two minute warning, up twenty to ten,

(01:32:43):
still with the football inside the Chargers ten yard line
and looking at the middle of the field, that time
out makes all the difference in the world. Plus, you know, Carrie,
minute forty seven, I don't care if it's your first season.
That is plenty of time for cam to be able
to do something. And all you need is a field
goal in this situation.

Speaker 4 (01:33:03):
That's right. No, I mean all the time in the world.
They can actually take their time here. Oh he went
for the Oh he went deep for the big winning
it got a big completion in the Calvin Ridley.

Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
They're in prime field goal position to win this game.
That is insane. Oh crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:33:19):
Here's what's I said, Carol. The Cardinals have all three
of their timeouts.

Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
Let him score, that's your thing, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:33:27):
Well, no you can't because there's twenty six seconds left.
But at you know, like you're not going to use
it in that situation. But Tennessee was never There was
nothing that the Cardinals could do. Really, it's gonna stink
that they're gonna have three timeouts in their back pocket
if they go home and lose. But you'll be able
to at least maybe freeze your kicker. Be interesting to

(01:33:49):
see what the Titans do in this situation at the
fifteen yard line. Tony Pollard's bringing it down. It was
almost like they were trying to let him score. Didn't
they look that way?

Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Yes, but I I thought it would be better. I
thought it would be beneficial. Now the Cardinals call a timeout,
I honestly carry. They had at first and ten at
the fifteen yard line, yep, and the Titans have one
time out. Cardinals have all three with just twenty six
seconds left to go. I would rather have just tried

(01:34:19):
to stop them than let Tony Pollard run for twelve
yards down to the three yard line like he just did.
Because your kicker for Tennessee just missed an extra point
from thirty three yards out. If you were to stop
them on each play, maybe even get negative yardage, it's
gonna be around the same sort of kick, and that's
in your head. Yeah, I would not have let them score,

(01:34:40):
just because now if you let the Titans score, you
have to score a touchdown because it would be twenty
five to twenty one at that point, and you'd have
three timeouts with now there's nineteen seconds on. If I
was Arizona, I would have tried to have tackled Tony Pollard.
To your point, it didn't seem like they tried to.

Speaker 3 (01:34:56):
Well, I think the Bengals got an onside kick here, Dan,
Why all right?

Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
The Bengals in a funky sort of onside kick. Brock Right,
who caught the touchdown earlier, tried to field it and
the ball was loose. So now, Cincinnati, that's another interesting number,
by the way, for what could be still a two
score game. Cincinnati down eleven in that contest, So the
Titans still have their time out so they can center

(01:35:23):
the football if they want to go, which is what
cam Ward's going to do as he takes a knee
at the eight yard line, and now he'll Arizona will
probably call one another time.

Speaker 3 (01:35:34):
What down do you kick the field goal? Right here? Dan?
On third?

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
I would I well, I'm just doing the math in
my head. It's second and goal, sixteen seconds left. Arizona
will probably call a timeout here. Maybe they won't. Maybe
what they'll do is tennis. I think Tennessee's going to
have to take one more snap and then they'll kick.

Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:35:59):
By the way, the did recover the on side, so
it wasn't recovered by Cincinnati. It was darn close, but
in the pile the Lions ended up getting it. Fourth
and seven, Commanders again knocking on the door up ten
on the Chargers. It's almost a formality. So now on
the second and goal, Arizona did use their final timeout,

(01:36:21):
so they didn't want to use it to ice. They
just decided to call time out at that point, making
it a little bit further back.

Speaker 3 (01:36:30):
That's this is and then it's just crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:36:34):
The NFL is really when you talk about people doing
the wagers and people in their fantasy league of whatever
they're in, like you think these games are done and
you think it's all formality at a certain point. These
guys are here fighting for their lives and you know, livelihood,
So these games are never over. So the fact that
oh they're actually make they're going to do it again.

(01:36:55):
So the Cardinals ended up using their final timeout. They
did not save it timeout to freeze Joey Sly.

Speaker 2 (01:37:02):
The freezing is just going to come now with Tennessee
calling their own timeout with four seconds left. They're showing
the highlight now of Sly missing his extra point earlier,
which will look like one of my drives that I
just blocked right like it was headed towards the woods.
Jayden Daniels just threw a touchdown pass to Deebo Samuel

(01:37:23):
on a fourth and seven, so the the Commanders now
lead the Chargers twenty six to ten. In the last
three games, Joey Sly has four missed field goals and
an extra point. He has never made a game winning
field goal in the final two minutes, and here in Arizona,
lining up from twenty nine yards out, shorter than an

(01:37:45):
extra point. Well, the Titans get their first win of
the season. Oh, Dan, against the Arizona Cardinals. There's no
time out to save them.

Speaker 8 (01:37:54):
And it is good. I think it is good, barely Titans.
Whoa Dan called down. He said, this is the prime
for the Titans, and there it is. Wow, look at
that Camp Award win number one. Arizona falls to two
and three.

Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
The Titans win twenty two twenty one and no longer winless.
I'm curious to see what cam Ward thinks of his team.
Now we'll check. We'll have to check the post game.

Speaker 3 (01:38:25):
Sound for that one. But the Titans, oh that thing
was going right quick too, Dan.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
They were lucky it wasn't from thirty three. They were
very lucky it wasn't from thirty three. So the Titans
get win number one. Thank you very much, Arizona and
Tennessee for giving us some exciting football. It's been a
really good late window and the Titans and Cardinals adding
to it.

Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
He is carry Rhoades. I'm dan byer.

Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
The Commanders up on the Chargers now after that debo touchdown,
I'm not even sure do they make the extra point?
Is it twenty seven? Yeah, twenty seven to ten with
a minute six left to go, I've got some bad news.
Carry what happened? The Yankees lost to the Blue Jays
thirteen to seven. So Toronto now leads the American League
Divisional Series two games to none. They'll resume the series

(01:39:11):
in New York coming up on Tuesday tonight Tigers and Mariners.
National League gets the opportunity to go tomorrow. Yeah, I saw,
I was, I was, you know, I was checking it.
I looked down a couple of times, and they had
a man on first and second and the top of
the ninth with John Carlos Stanton up, So I was,
I was still kind of teet him and waiting for
the big shot.

Speaker 4 (01:39:28):
But they didn't get it done. So got to regroup
in the Bronx and get ready to play.

Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
You know, yesterday with the National League action, I mentioned
it earlier, with the Brewers jumping out to a nine
to one lead, You're, if you're a Milwaukee fan, you're
kind of like, could we save some of those for Monday?
You know, can you can you bank some of those?

Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:39:47):
But they, you know, things that are having a great
time in Milwaukee, and they're having a great time in
Philadelphia until yeah, to ask Car with the three run
shot for the Dodgers, But now the Dodgers seemingly having
momentum in that series as well. Those game twos will
take place tomorrow, just in a little funky baseball schedule,

(01:40:07):
So no National League action today, but you'll get NLDS
action tomorrow with two game twos. I'm sure the Phillies
would like to write things wrong, and I know the
Cubs will want to put together a better performance against Milwaukee,
and we'll see if they'll be able to do that
in a heated rivalry of two Nlcentral full foes in
the NLDS. You've seen that red Ostrich logo on the
Professional Baseball postseason helmets. That's Strauss family owned since nineteen

Find Kerrie on X at Carrie twenty five Roads. You
can find me at dan Byer on Fox. We know
you may have some wagering interest. So the Lions punted

(01:40:52):
it back to the Bengals thirty five to twenty four
under two minutes to go. Bengals have one time out,
but they'll have the football in their own territory. As
for the Chargers, Trey Lances in the game twenty seven
to ten, Commanders on top of the Chargers fourteen seconds left.
Commanders with the seventeen point lead. Chargers have the football
near midfield, but likely headed for their second straight loss.

(01:41:13):
He's Carrie, I'm Dan. It's end zone radio here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 10 (01:41:17):
Titans said, Cardinals, here we go.

Speaker 1 (01:41:20):
Cox snaps it back, Sly lets it fly.

Speaker 9 (01:41:25):
Bull Die Hey, Nashville.

Speaker 1 (01:41:28):
That sounds like a winner.

Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
The Tennessee Titans twenty two the Arizona Cardinals twenty one.

Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
Back to Dan Byer and Carrie.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
Rhodes WGFAX one O four point five of the Titans
radio network as Tennessee gets win, Newmero Uno. It's also
one game less that Monzi Blanios has to tell us
about as she gives us the finals from week five
were almost.

Speaker 3 (01:41:54):
There, just two games left.

Speaker 2 (01:41:56):
A couple of teams on buy Monzi take it away
for the scores from week five and.

Speaker 3 (01:42:00):
So much more.

Speaker 13 (01:42:01):
I mean the way the Titans got that though, that
play where cam Ward throws an interception, Arizona fumbles set interception,
and then Titans recovered it for a touchdown.

Speaker 14 (01:42:13):
That's how they cut that deficit. You guys, it was messy.

Speaker 12 (01:42:16):
So a little bit of luck, a little luck.

Speaker 14 (01:42:18):
It's how the Titans got their first win.

Speaker 3 (01:42:20):
Titan's never pretty, never pret pretty.

Speaker 13 (01:42:23):
But hey, that's how it works. Because now the Jets
are the only zero to five team.

Speaker 1 (01:42:26):
Yeah, hey, that's.

Speaker 12 (01:42:27):
Something to sell me.

Speaker 3 (01:42:28):
A little distinction, a little.

Speaker 13 (01:42:29):
Something, a little something. Listen, I feel you because my
Chargers were not good. They got shut out after the
first quarter. Commanders topped them twenty seven to ten. Jacory
Krosky Mourrett fourteen carries one hundred and eleven yards, two touchdowns.

Speaker 14 (01:42:42):
The Buccaneers do it again.

Speaker 13 (01:42:44):
This is the only way they win. They've got to
be down and they need to do it at the
end with the drive. They walked it off with the
thirty nine yard field goal to beat the Seahawks thirty
eight to thirty five. A Mega Abuka seven catches, one
hundred and sixty three yards and a touchdown. Cowboys outscored
the Jets thirty seven to twenty two. Saints shout out
the Giants in the second half and one at twenty
five to fourteen.

Speaker 12 (01:43:03):
It's the first win for New Orleans.

Speaker 13 (01:43:05):
The Panthers came back to defeat the Dolphins twenty seven
to twenty four. Texans rolled past the Ravens forty four
to ten, where CJ. Stroud threw for two hundred and
forty four yards and four touchdowns. The Broncos had to
score eighteen points in the fourth quarter, but they did
it and handed the Eagles or first loss of the season.
Coming out on top twenty one to seventeen. Colts crushed
the Raiders forty to six, Jonathan Taylor seventeen carries, sixty

(01:43:28):
six yards and three touchdowns. Vikings meat the Browns in
London twenty one to seventeen, scoring the go ahead touchdown
with twenty five seconds to go, and the Lines officially
defeated the Bengals, but at least Cincinnati got in the
end zone a few times in this one. Thirty seven
to twenty four was the final score. Detroit improves to
four and one, Cincinnati falls to two and three. When

(01:43:48):
it comes to baseball, yeah, the Blue Jays crushed the
Yankees thirteen to seven to take a two zero lead
in the Alds and in the WNBA the Aces defeated
the Mercury ninety one to seventy eight to take a
two zero lead in the w NBA Finals.

Speaker 14 (01:44:01):
What a day, guys, back to you, what a day?

Speaker 3 (01:44:04):
We should have a good one tonight between the Bills.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
And Patriots from Orchard Park, Buffalo, trying to remain the
lone unbeaten in the National Football League. After Monty told
you the Eagles fell to the Broncos today. If you

The International Games get the day starting early, so maybe
you were out doing some morning errands. Maybe you weren't
up yet, but the Vikings and Browns played a pretty
good one and that leads.

Speaker 1 (01:44:46):
Us to.

Speaker 10 (01:44:48):
Huge fast times with Carrie Rhodes in.

Speaker 2 (01:44:52):
Dylan Gabriel's first start for the Cleveland Browns. He was
on the sidelines as his team at a seventeen to
fourteen league on Minnesota Vikings with the football Carson Wentz
under center facing a second and five from the Browns
twelve yard line, down three on the second down play, Wentz.

Speaker 11 (01:45:11):
On second and five from the Cleveland twelve close to
the right side.

Speaker 15 (01:45:15):
Fideisan pas the mash and he wasn't in on the
first quarter, but he was in at the end of
the game for Minnesota and k Fan one hundred point
three FM and the Vikings radio network.

Speaker 2 (01:45:34):
How did Carson Wentz took up with Jordan Edison for
the game winner in London?

Speaker 3 (01:45:38):
Oh crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:45:38):
They came out and eleven personnel and again we always
talk about Dan, they'reing a reduced split there. They're both
both sides snug, both inside the numbers really close and
so in that alignment, what they did is they ran
double press out right, So we call a press out
outs by both number twos. There as you run the
play and you run, you run the the takeoff, the

(01:46:01):
go to clear that space for the out. So in theory,
what they were going for was just that out route
to get the completion to get the first down. But
with denzel Ward here and Carson Wentz, he trusted that
short side threw it right in there in that whole ball,
which a lot of quarterbacks can't do. But that down
and distance in that area of the field, you gotta

(01:46:21):
throw it right on the rope. Carson Wentz made a
great throw the corner. Denzel Ward tried to bait them
a little bit there to try to steal that out
that was coming out, and Carson Wentz fitting in for
a big play for the Vikings to come back, big drive,
a big touchdown and gave the Vikings to win in
that game.

Speaker 2 (01:46:38):
In this scenario, on the second and five, the Vikings
had a timeout.

Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:46:42):
So to your point, TJ. Hawkinson lines up gets to
about the seven yard line right at the first down
that the down necessarily mattered, but they could throw a play.

Speaker 3 (01:46:51):
They didn't have to go to the sidelines. They didn't
have any of that. They had the time out.

Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
Tod denzel Ward think that he had safety he help
off the top.

Speaker 3 (01:46:59):
Is that why he let him go? Yeah? He does.

Speaker 4 (01:47:01):
So what they did right here, what the Browns did,
They went quarters to the field and half into the boundary,
which is a normal red zone coverage for a defense
of Jim Schwartz's I guess his pocket in his defenses,
and so what they did, the safety should be over
a little bit more. Anyway, as soon as two goes out,

(01:47:22):
that safety should be running the one, which he is.
But it's such a close distance for the touchdown that
if you could throw that whole ball in there perfectly
the way that Carson Wentz did, it'll be a touchdown.
And so Denzel Ward in this situation has to allow
he has to get that safety help because it's such
a short distance and he's trying to bait him to
make the interception to win the game instead of doing

(01:47:45):
what he should have done. I'll put the blame right
there on Denzel Ward more than the safety.

Speaker 1 (01:47:50):
Fast times with Carrie Roads.

Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
All right, hit him up at carry twenty five Roads sow.
The Vikings improved a three and two, the Browns fall
to one and four right in London, and now the
Vikings can end up coming home as they spent a
little more than a week overseas because they were in Dublin,
Ireland last week playing the Steelers, and they played in London.
The NFL experimenting with different ways. We've seen the Jaguars

(01:48:13):
play back to back games in London, but to be
able to do it in two different countries a little
bit different. So the NFL always trying to experiment with things.

Speaker 4 (01:48:22):
I'm talking about the guy that just caught that game
when a touchdown, Jordan Addison. He started off the week
pretty bad. He was actually with bench for the first
quarter and came back in the second half and and
proved to be a big factor in that game.

Speaker 2 (01:48:35):
Justin Jefferson said that he spoke with the wide receiver. Remember,
Addison was suspended for the first three games of the
season as well, so he hasn't been available for the Vikings,
but at least today when they needed it the most,
he was is they get that big victory again? He's
Carrier oat T.

Speaker 3 (01:48:50):
I'm dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (01:48:51):
Monci Belanios is at the news desk. Mary mcar Executive,
our technical producer, Shay Mogngard, our executive producer here, Ricky Irreras.
Week five MVPs coming up in about twelve minutes or so,
But before we get to the MVPs, I want to
get your thoughts on the quarter mark of the NFL season.
It's something that we teased earlier. The Bills are the

(01:49:12):
only unbeaten that we've got right now in the National
Football League sitting they're at four and oh. Win tonight
they'll be five and oh, the only five and oh team.
Are they your team of the first quarter of the
season or do we need to look elsewhere in the
National Football League? Buccaneers four and one winning today, Colts
improved the four and one Eagles fell to foreign one,
So I don't feel like there's a lot of momentum

(01:49:33):
towards Philadelphia being that team. Who's your team right now
the first quarter of the season? Great question, Dan, I think.
I mean, it has to be the Colts, right, I mean,
nobody expected them to That's what I wrote down. Yeah,
I did, I did. Look, I wrote it, yep, Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 4 (01:49:48):
It has to be I mean, nobody expected them to
be in this position. I mean, and it's not even
it's at the point now where they know they're a
good team. They believe they're a good team, and you
can see it right the way they're going out and execute.
They actually trust Daniel Jones like they trust them.

Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
They're not.

Speaker 4 (01:50:04):
There's nothing vanilla about what they're doing. They're actually a
really complex offense as well. We know they want to
get the ball to Jonathan Taylor, which he's also having
a great year as well, that nobody's really talking about
him and nobody usually does. And he's always been one
of the best running backs. But now they got a
team that actually can do some damage and you know
he's starting to reap some of that some of the benefits.

Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
Now three or four wins have come against the Dolphins, Titans.
I was going to say, look at the Cardinals today
right in where they play out, and when you look
at the Colts loss last week and what could have
happened ad Na Mitchell. Not only the touchdown that didn't
happen because he dropped the ball before the goal line,
but there was also a touchdown taking off the board

(01:50:45):
on a Mitchell holding call. And then on your fast
times last week was the two two at well eighty
eight yard touchdown. You have a spot where defender ends
up falling down Laton coverage allowing that to happen.

Speaker 3 (01:50:57):
So that's the.

Speaker 2 (01:50:58):
Fine line of being unbeaten in the National Football League.

Speaker 3 (01:51:01):
And then they win one, they send them one against
the Broncos penalty. Yeah, coach of the Year.

Speaker 2 (01:51:06):
So Thursday night, ifl everybody wanted to give it to
Kyle Shanahan at the quarter mark, yeah, would you give
it to Kyle Shanahan at this point with the Niners
four and one and their quarterback situation.

Speaker 3 (01:51:16):
I mean you could.

Speaker 4 (01:51:18):
I just you can't go away from what the what
the Colts are doing, obviously, but I mean I think
there's a few I think Todd Bowles is that in
that conversation as well, for all the injuries they've had
in Tampa Bay. And obviously we want to give credit
to a Baker because the way he's playing, but Todd
Bowles has held that team together and they have an
identity as well.

Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
It's a that's a good conversation. Can you give can
you give it to a coaches two two and one?
Bryan Schottenheimer, He's done a great job. This is this
is this is this would be my argument. Okay, Week
one after the Micah Parsons tobacco however you want to

(01:51:56):
call it, situation, that's a tough game to win. Were
competitive against the Eagles, they come they win the shootout
against the Giants, they threw a stinker up against the Bears,
but the way that they played against Green Bay, go
to New York today, and when the offense doesn't seem
to be a problem outside of maybe that Bear stinker.

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
I think that he would get votes.

Speaker 2 (01:52:17):
I don't know if you would write I just I
wrote his name down because I felt like it was
name worthy. But for what we expected from the Cowboys,
and they very well could be three and two at
this point.

Speaker 3 (01:52:27):
He said, good votes.

Speaker 4 (01:52:28):
And we talked about the Ravens being destructed by injuries today,
so were the Cowboys, and it didn't stop them from
coming out and putting it, putting together a really good
effort today. Obviously the Jets aren't good, but there's other
teams that aren't good that still get get wins. And
so for them to go in and be focused enough
to put put an effort like that out today, you
got to get the head coach a.

Speaker 3 (01:52:48):
Right and last one. If you had to pick an
MVP right now, my MVP right now is Baker Mayfield.
That's who I would go with right now. I knew it.
I knew it. I knew I wasn't going to write
it down.

Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
I knew it would be I knew it would be
Baker Mayfield, and it's tough for me to argue with it.
I think that Josh Allen has a case with Buffalo.
We'll see how things fare tonight if they go five
and oh. But again, he hasn't been great. Though they're good.
He's been good, don't get me wrong, but he hasn't
been Baker Mayfield good.

Speaker 3 (01:53:17):
Well, yes, and.

Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
His team hasn't been put in the situations that Baker
Mayfield's team has been in. So I really can't. I
really can't argue with it. And for as much love
as Danny Dimes got Indiana Jones at the beginning, like
to have the threat of Jonathan Taylor I think helps
so much for the Indianapolis cults. So if you're making
a non quarterback award, I don't want to make this

(01:53:40):
all about the Horseshoe, but Jonathan Taylor could be another guy.
I know there's names that we're leaving out, but right now,
I think Baker Mayfield's actually at pretty good nominee. He's
Kerry Rhodes, the All Pro. I'm Dan Byer. It is
end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio. Will come up
with our week five MVPs from Ricky Herrera. He's got
those waiting in the inbox that we've got three and

(01:54:04):
a half minutes of all you need to know from
week five. And I didn't call it about the Titans,
and I just had a feeling it's next year.

Speaker 3 (01:54:13):
On Fox Sports.

Speaker 10 (01:54:13):
Radio, back to Dan Beyer and Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
Love your feedback. It is in zone radio here on
Fox Sports Radio. Brendan Brody tweets in the Raiders need
to fire their offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and special teams coordinator.
It's a lack of preparation completely or they didn't get
enough of the NFL version of preparation HS to clear
themselves of everything detrimental to winning games.

Speaker 3 (01:54:35):
Oh, it's a little harsh.

Speaker 2 (01:54:37):
And it's year one. I don't think chim Kelly's gonna
be out the door in year one. I don't think
that's gonna happen. No, not through five games, but Raiders
taking one on the chin today forty to six. As
the Colts were the team that we talked about a lot,
they dominated the Silver and Black today. No brock Bowers
for the Raiders, but he wasn't the difference in the

(01:54:57):
thirty four point defeat the all.

Speaker 3 (01:55:00):

Speaker 1 (01:58:30):
That sounds like a winner.

Speaker 6 (01:58:31):
WGFX one oh four to five Titans radio network.

Speaker 3 (01:58:35):
The most valuable players.

Speaker 1 (01:58:37):
Settle for everybody. This is Fox Football Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:58:42):
I'm not saying I played a role in it. Carry Roads.
I think a Mario de Mercado played a role in it.
For the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals today with
the Cardinals running back dropping the ball right before the
end zone and what would have been a twenty seven
to six league game would have been over, it was
in Titans comeback and win on that highlight. But I
did have some sort of faith with the Titans. This

(01:59:03):
is how we started the show today and going around
our Week five whip around that we do with the
four games. This was my confidence level in the Titans.
The Cardinals right now, twenty one to six, leading the
Titans in a game in Arizona, They're gonna gonna win.

Speaker 11 (01:59:21):
I know.

Speaker 3 (01:59:22):
I don't say that with confidence. Yeah, your voice fluctuated there,
there must.

Speaker 2 (01:59:28):
If I really wanted to put the rubber stamp, I
would say they're going to get away.

Speaker 3 (01:59:32):
Yeah, there you go. But there it was, there you go.
I was also talking about the entire season.

Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
I wasn't talking about today down fifteen points at that,
but I felt that the Titans had an opportunity today
when they were down twenty one to six. It didn't
look good when Amari de Marcado is running down the field.
There isn't a Titan in sight except Lagerius Snead who's
kind of running up behind. But Sneed didn't even have
a he didn't have a role in it. It's all
in de Mercado and that changed the tide for the

(01:59:58):
second straight week in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (02:00:00):
Clips would have only been the Titans will win. You
should have put it out that way, Dan, You should
have just cut it right there, Titans will win, and
that would have been all over the place right now.

Speaker 5 (02:00:09):
It just it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
It was there today, like I thought they had a chance,
but even down fifteen, I would never thought it'd comeback. Wow,
you said last week at this point that tonight you
like the Patriots to knock off the Bills. Bills wearing
their rivalry uniforms, you had the new helmet who sitting
right in front of it? Has anything changed in your mind?
Do you like New England to pull the upset to night?

Speaker 3 (02:00:30):
Patriots win tonight and they're plus eight and they're gonna
win tonight. Straight up?

Speaker 5 (02:00:35):
Carri like it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
Give me the Bills to be the lone unbeaten after
week five. We will talk to you in Week six
Thanks to Mary Max Shay and you, Carey Roads and Monty.

Speaker 3 (02:00:45):
I'm Dan Byer. Talk to you next week.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
