Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
All right, we got some good stuff here in this
late window. Just three games here in Week six with
the Buccaneers and Niners doing battle maybe to find out
who's the king of the NFC. We shall see Raiders
and Titans, and the Raiders just got into the end
zone to extend their lead, and the Packers and Bengals
is Joe Flacco gets to see a familiar foe, a
(00:24):
team that he saw just a few weeks ago. He's
just wearing carry a completely different jersey, which was the
one of the reasons why the why the Bengals said, yeah,
this is why we're bringing in Joe Flacco as he
saw the Packers a couple of weeks ago, which if
I'm Jake Browning, I am like, what, like, was it
really that.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Bad for me? It was that bad? It was, yeah,
it was.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
But then they just got a quarterback who also throws interceptions, right,
that's right in Joe Flacco. He's known to h to
maybe get picked off here or there. But Packers and
Bengals right now in a tight affair. Green Bay just
up three nothing, as you heard MONSI say early in
the second quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
But it is a.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Small late window, but still intrigue with these three games
that are going on.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Dan, it's crazy because you know, I had to switch
from quarterback to safety my sophomore year in college. I
just wish I would have stayed playing quarterback. I probably
wouldn't be right here with you right now. They're giving
out these free contracts and these old quarterbacks, so I
wish I didn't switch. But before we dive into the games,
I want to give us oot out real quick, Dan
to Mike, to Kyle and Ford and Madison. Right now,
(01:27):
they're in the car listening right now. They're big fans
of the show, so I wanted to get them a
shout out as well, the bigger fans of you or me.
Let's let's all no, it's definitely me. But well, I'm glad.
I'm glad that they're listening. Three fans of the show.
Three games going on here and in this late window.
If you are Cincinnati, I commend you because you made
(01:50):
a move. I just don't know if Joe Flacco is
that right move for them at this time. Dan, he's better,
he's better than what they have, and so it's still
a lateral move. It's not something that's going to put
them in a position to go out and win that division.
But I mean, Flocko coming in from what we just
saw from Browning last week, and we just talked about it.
(02:11):
I mean, he throws the ball to the other team
more than his team, and that's never a good sign.
And with Cincinnati they have enough player, so Flaco at
least can throw the ball deep to Jamarrow or Higgins,
you know, push the ball downfield and hopefully give them
a spark.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Right now, green Bay playing with their food a little bit,
just up three to nothing. Jordan Love had an interception
in Cincinnati territory on the team's opening drive. They just
shuttle for three points.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Later on.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
There is another happening in that forty nine Ers Buccaneers game,
and yet probably heard Manci say it as well. Fred
Warner had to be carted off with an air cast
on his right leg. Not a good look for the
forty nine Ers, who obviously are dealing with other injuries
as well. First it was Nick Bosa, Rock Purdy, Ricky
(02:58):
Piersall's not playing today, and now your heart and soul,
truly he is, I mean, and I think that that
he Fred Warner is the guy that if you would
survey the other thirty one teams in the National Football
League or fans of the other thirty one teams in
the National Football League, and you said, what defender would
you like on your team that isn't on your team?
(03:18):
I'm thinking Fred Warner's top two or three in that
category for how he plays in what he does. But
his injury a tough blow for the forty nine ers
today and not looking good long term just for how
he needed to be a carter off the field, but
a tough blow for San Francisco.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Yeah, the forty nine ers have been injury riddled, I
mean the past four years, but this year in particular,
obviously a lot of injuries. They still found the way
to win a four and one right now, But when
you lose the heart of your of your team, and
you can definitely see that when they play, he's the
unquestioned leader of that team, not just that defense. So
it's gonna be it's gonna be a it's gonna be
a tough sledding for them, especially against Tampa Bay, a
(03:55):
team that's playing really well right now. Tampa Bay should
come out and put his game away. But I mean
the forty nine ers have Vin Pesky.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Sure, And there's a scenario here where we're watching Baker
Mayfield and the conversation around Baker and coming off that
great win last week, you called them your MVP. Yeah,
through a quarter of the season. Last week when you're
talking about Mac Jones, Yeah, I don't want to say
similar because I don't think that's fair. But could there
be a similar path to what Baker Mayfield's done for
(04:25):
Mac Jones and reviving his career or are you not
a believer that much in mac Jones just yet?
Speaker 3 (04:32):
No, I'm not a believer in mac Jones yet.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
But again, we've seen these quarterbacks get out of situations
that were super adverts for them, and they step into
advantageous situations on different teams, different coaches, and they start
to play the way that you know coming out of college.
The lot of those guys we expected them to play, right.
But with mac Jones, it's still some time. He's doing
a good job right now, but let's let's let's let
(04:54):
this thing play out. It's been a couple of years
now for Baker in Tampa, so we know what he
can do.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
But Baker did have to win the job in Tampa
and he beat out Kyle Trask a couple of years ago,
has had success with it. Mac Jones is an old
by any means, you go to New England where it's
completely dysfunctional, especially now what if we're seeing what's happening
at North Carolina. A lot more being shed on that.
(05:20):
So now he ends up going to San Francisco after
what a stop in Jacksonville previously. But I think that
there's still time. And Baker was the number one overall picks.
Mac Jones was a mid first round pick, so the
expectations in them.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
However, he's had successful so far, had.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
A great win last week against the Rams, so I
do think that there is time there where we look
at some of these younger quarterbacks and Anthony Richardson, who
has the freak injury today, Anthony Richardson may get another
opportunity in the NFL. We just know it's not going
to happen with the Colts and with mac Jones, we
think that maybe his careers is going to come to
(05:59):
an end because it didn't work out in New England.
Once you get removed from that and we're to the
point of the things that we're talking about you maybe
see a little bit of light when you go to
a situation like that. Daniel speaking of Daniel Jones, talked
about what just being in Minnesota meant for him to
work under Kevin O'Connell just last year and how it's
helped him this year. So yeah, I wouldn't give up
(06:21):
on mac Jones as an NFL starter just yet. And
depending on how the health of Brock Perty is, they
think sooner rather than later for Perty's comeback. But I
wouldn't give up on him as an NFL starter just yet. Oh,
one thousand percent not.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
I mean, I think recent history has shown this not
to give up one of these guys so quick. I
mean we've in the past, we've done that, and we've
put people in the cellar for their play at certain stops.
And you can just see, I mean being in the
NFL myself and seeing how big coaching really is, because
it's not just about the ex's and those You got
(06:54):
to know how to put them in the positions to
go out and succeed. You come into a season and
you have your your game plan, you have your approach
on how you want to do things, but that changes
during the season. And so if you can't be versatile
as a head coach or an offensive coordinator defensive coordinator,
then you're just doing the disservice to the players. I mean,
those guys are in the league for a reason. Mac
(07:15):
Jones was a quarterback and actually a good quarterback in
the beginning in New England, even though the.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Follow up happens. Sure, but there's glimpses of him being
able to play.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Sometimes it's better that you don't know what you're doing
or what's going on. And I'm just saying that early
on for mac Jones. Once maybe he gets a little
bit of understanding. Yeah, he starts to think a little
bit too much. What's also fascinating about this and using
the forty nine ers as an example of go to
this team, make yourself well or make yourself a better quarterback,
(07:46):
is it doesn't work for everyone, and it didn't work
for Jimmy Garoppolo, and obviously Trey Lance being drafted by
San Francisco didn't work in that scenario. And we're both
on the same page where Kyle Shanahan, we don't think
is a quarterback whisperer, more of the running game. For
what they have there However, they have taken quarterbacks that
we think with less and done a lot more than
(08:06):
we thought you could. And now when you see what
with Sam Darnold going from San Francisco to Minnesota today
leads the Seahawks to a win against Jacksonville, it makes
me think of the Garoppolos and Trey Lances a little
bit and look at them and be like, ooh, you know,
it may not be fair, but it's just the reality
of it.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Dan, what you're saying is the remedy is just for
any ling quarterback. Just go see Kevin O'Connell for an
off season. Is that what you're saying right now?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Listen, Mitchell Trumisky got a starting job for spending a
season in Buffalo where he hardly played. So like's there's
some truth to like going to places and figuring out
to make it work out. We're talking about Baker Mayfield.
Dave Canalis had a big role in turning him around,
turning Gino Smith around. Now he's trying to turn Bryce
Young around in Carolina and as of late it's been
pretty good. And Kerrie, let's focus on that.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Now it's time for the NFL On Fox Focus.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Adam and Mean was on the call for Foxes. Carolina
dropped the Cowboys today thirty to twenty seven on a
last second field goal. We're going to get to Rico Dwell, Adam,
welcome to the program right now, Dan, Now, you know,
I want to get to Brycett first. I want to
get to Bryce Stow first, because we do talk about
the quarterback that it is a role where even earlier
this year, Adam, we had questions, Tom, maybe Bryce Young
(09:24):
is back to being the old Bryce Young. Things have
turned around for him a bit. Now that we're in
week six, How has it turned around for Bryce Young
this year?
Speaker 5 (09:33):
You know, I think there's a trust factor that goes
into the coach quarterback relationship. I think that's partially reps,
partially communication, partially finding the plays that work for you
individually as an offense. So I think that's where Bryce
Young is getting to. You know, two plus years in
the NFL isn't what it feels like it used to
(09:53):
be because you're thrust into these roles at age twenty one, two,
twenty three years old, whereas in the past. And you
could probably speak to this as well, like if you've
got drafted as a high draft pick as a quarterback,
unless like it's an extenuating circumstance to the organization, you're
probably going to sit for a year, maybe two, depending
on get a veteran or whatever it may be. Like
(10:14):
the last ten to fifteen years, that's completely taken a shift,
and I think Bryce was probably in that situation that
a lot of young quarterbacks find themselves in, where hey,
maybe it's just not there yet, maybe there's turmoil with
the organization. And certainly Carolina's dealt with the share of
turmoil in the front office and in the ownership group,
and certainly with the personnel. I think those three things,
(10:35):
the trust that these two guys have for each other,
the reps that Bryce young is starting to get, and
the personnel around him is a little bit better, and
there's a little bit of consistency in the play calling. Canalys,
as we know, is a young play caller, a good one,
but a young one. And so these are two guys
who are in their third year of doing that particular job.
Canalis between Tampa and Carolina, and Bryce as the quarterback
that are starting to get their legs underneath him. And
(10:56):
I think just time and reps is a big reason
why they're starting to look a little bit sharper, a
little bit more consistent.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I love that, Adam.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
I want to talk about I mean, we're going to
get the rego doubt because I want to, but we'll
we'll wait a little bit longer. But I want to ask,
but I want to ask you about this team and
Bryce sung Right. So, come into the year, I thought
that they would take that next step. I mean, you know,
be flirting with the playoffs, and they start off slow
this year. Obviously, now they've won back to back games,
the filling around the organization is a little bit different.
But I want to talk about Bryce's leadership a little bit.
(11:24):
Is he starting to take ownership of that team or like,
what what do you feel when you're around that team?
Speaker 5 (11:30):
You know? I saw this great clip last week from
their second half comeback against Miami, Right. I love these
micd up segments that you get a chance to see
after you know the games are over, and you can
hear Bryce like going up to offensive lineman, going up
to the receivers in the backs and saying, hey, don't
you know, don't don't don't leave me, don't abandon me,
Like we're right where we need to be. We're right
(11:52):
where we need to be. That's not a thing you
expect a young player necessarily to go up to a
bunch of guys and say and have them believe when
you're down seventeen nothing right, Like yeah, Tom Brady comes
up to you on the sideline or a Manning or something,
He's like, hey, guys, we're fine, We're fine. You believe it.
Because he's got the requisite experience, he's got the requisite reps,
he's obviously got the resume. Brice doesn't necessarily have all
those things. So for him to go up to each
(12:14):
of these guys, hey, don't leave me, We're okay, We're okay,
and for these guys to buy into that, I think
that's a really nice advancement and a good visual piece
of evidence that the trust is starting to get there.
And ownership, you know, true ownership comes with trust, Ownership
of the team, ownership of an offense. Those things come
with time and trust, and I do think there are
(12:37):
portions of that that are starting to development. By the way,
like we said this on the air today, Brice has
brys Shung has nine wins in three years in the NFL,
two plus years in the NFL, like seven or eight
of those have come with like a game winning drive.
He has taken this team down like he's been very
comfortable in this two minute drill. And I would imagine
when you see a quarterback able to operate in the
tight settings like that enough times, you're gonna go, hey,
(12:58):
Brice has this. We're good, We're fine. So I think
that's starting to take shape, that's starting to take hold.
I think you're right on a terror, Adam.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
I mean, joining us here at Fox Sports Radio. He
called the Panthers win over the Cowboys thirty to twenty seven.
Carolina three and three the Cowboys two, three and one.
Carrie and I found out you were coming on our
show prior to the show, and we were both excited. Yes,
because Adam, I have to tell you, and I'll let
Carrie say it. You were a magnificent Friday night. And
for those that don't know, Adam was on the call
of Game five of the American League Divisional Series between
(13:26):
the Tigers and Mariners.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
So I know it's been a long weekend. You were
in Seattle Friday night, you're in Charlotte today.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
But I gotta tell you magnificent job, the job that
you and aj and Adam did in the booth, but
specifically you Adam. It was a magnificent game. And this
sounds like I'm just blowing hot. It was a great
call at him, Dan, Adam, you were amazing. I don't
know how you sat through two games, but that's another
topic for another day.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Go ahead, no weekend.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
Let me just say, dB carry, thank you guys so
much that that's incredibly kind and very much appreciated. And listen,
every one of us who does this job hopes praise,
wishes dreams about just running into a weekend like this,
Like I don't know what more I could have possibly
asked for. That's one of the best games I've ever
(14:15):
seen in my career, one of the best games I've
been ever privileged to call. And then like today was
like a cherry on top of it for a broadcast,
right like we made it to Charlotte. We're gonna have fun.
We're working with our old buddy Greg and our friend Pam,
Like we're gonna have a good time. It'll be great.
But then to get that type of game, it was
a really well played game today that was this is
like one of the just personally like one of the
(14:36):
best weekends of like my fifteen years in broadcast, and
it was just so much fun that I really appreciate
the kindness that you guys showed me because thank you
so much.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
No, it met the moment like it truly did.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
So you guys should be all three of you should
be proud of the of the work that you that
you put in. That leads us to the last question,
because I know you have to board a plane. Was
this Rico dablinship on his shoulder game? Because you did
the same thing practically last week, what can we attribute
to success for the Panthers running back this week?
Speaker 5 (15:00):
Well, listen, Brian Schottenheimer told us, like he's aware that
this is a really good running back. He ran for
one thousand last year. Is really good late in the season,
especially when Dak was out and they tried to resign him.
But there's a lot of cap space dedicated to Dak
and the Ceedee Lamb and some of the guys on defense.
And now you're putting Michael Parsons. You know you're worried
about Michael Parsons deal and trading him away. So I
think Rico was just kind of like a like in
(15:21):
a sense, a cap casualty. So he goes and finds
another job, and I think he also understands the business
aspect of it. But Rico is an undrafted kid, underrafted
free agent. He's already got a chip on his shoulder.
And I think guys like that who work really really
hard to get an opportunity, when they finally get it,
they want to make the absolute most of it. And
Shuba Hubbard being down, gets his opportunity last week with
(15:43):
this offense, and one's angry. Those runs were angry last week,
and they looked the same today, shouldered down into a defender,
pinballing off of guys not afraid to take contact, and
that that angry running got him, you know, got him
a bunch of yards after the initial contact. So to me,
that feels like a chip on the shoulder for sure.
I think that ship just may be there. I think
(16:04):
maybe maybe today added a little bit of fuel to
the fire, some self motivation, like, hey, remember this is
a team that wouldn't make room for you, whether that's
true or not. And Schottenheimer again said they tried, but
in his head, he's like, I'm going to make sure
that these guys remember the game that they had to
try to tackle me. This is a very remember the Titans,
you know moment to make sure they remember the night
they played the Titans like that that sideline speech from
(16:25):
Will Patton, like that's what it felt like today from
Rico dal He certainly ran like it, you know, two
hundred plus in back to back weeks. To do it
against the Cowboy defense that's coming off its best game
is very, very impressive.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
All right, he's Adam and me and on the call
of the Panthers went over the Cowboys and that great
job Friday night. All right, take a break at him,
get some rest, and we'll talk to you against you man.
Speaker 5 (16:41):
Thanks so much, Adam, appreciate you guys, Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (16:43):
All these carrier oats. I'm Dan Byer.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
It was a magnificent and their call was was great.
About three times during it, I think we all thought
that the Tigers had the Mariner's number a couple of times.
The Mariners are going to pull through, and Seattle ends
up doing it in fifteen dude.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
It was.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
It was such a good game for it to be,
like I said, a two games to one and to
actually sit there and steal be intrigued throughout was what's
pretty good, Dan, I would say.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
I hate using cliches. It's a shame somebody had to
lose this game. It was a shame that Detroit had
to take the al and go home, especially for what
they went through in the final month of the season.
Then they end up righting the wrongs and beating Cleveland
in the series and getting this far and getting close,
and yeah, they had opportunities, but it should be a
good one starting tonight in Toronto with the Mariners and

Fred Warner's injury, didn't you, Yes, Darius cringing.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Next to me in the studio.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
The Bengals fans, we have the same reaction watching their
team play. Joe Flacco four of nine. You want to guess,
so many yards Joe Flacco has in the first half
negative three come on, and he's completed four passes he's
not gonna have negative three.
Speaker 3 (20:12):
I saw I saw Justin Fields earlier, so yes, it
could be.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
We're gonna get to him for the second thirteen yards.
Did you know what the at one point the score
of the Chargers Dolphins game was today at one point
six seven, right, Moncy, Moncy, Yes, six seven. I dropped
it on Shay. He didn't like it. This six seven
is for forty eight year old eyes. That's what it's for.
Speaker 8 (20:36):
Six seven.
Speaker 10 (20:37):
It was seven.
Speaker 11 (20:39):
You're just you're just mad at you don't know what
six seven means. God, yep, you're acting six seven.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Those are the guys that in and out last night
and order sixty seven came up. We lost our minds,
lost our minds.
Speaker 8 (20:53):
It's not sixty seven, you know it's six.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Yeah, well no, I know.
Speaker 8 (20:56):
But but when the order came out, Okay, kick it that.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
It's cool because the guy even goes order six seven
and we just all went nuts. That's what the kids

the Jets head coach. I don't know if thirteen eleven
is something, but boy, it was something today in London.
It was the type of football that makes them love
soccer across the pond. Seeing today your Jets. I mentioned
you didn't even want to have the jersey out on
our set today because of how poorly it was. What's
your takeaway from a Jets team that's now owen six
(21:43):
on the season.
Speaker 4 (21:44):
I'm actually not Yeah, no, that right, that right there?
That Yes, a big one, A big one, a big one.
But I'm even upset that you're saying my Jets right now.
I didn't say that that's my team. I mean, obviously
I played for the Okay, let me take a hold on,
let me take a break.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
Okay, deep breath.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
They're bad, yes, And when you go into a game,
you talk about all week how it's been a great
week of practice. These guys are going to come out
and compete. Defense did come out and compete. They did
play hard, and they got a turnover for the first
time this year. So they came out and did something different.
But when you go into the game and you know
your quarterback has limited weapons.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Such a backhanded compliment, first turnover of the year, first
take away exactly.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
But you go into the game and you know you
got limited weapons, right, and you come out and yes,
we want to be physical, we want to run the ball,
but you're going to run the ball on first down,
second down, and then put him in third and long
to try to complete a pass against a really good
Broncos defense. But also if they know they're passing, if
they know your passing, No, Third and long the best
pass rush in the NFL. So like, you're not putting
(22:52):
them in a situation to be advantageous. So you just
look at their whole get up and how they operate.
They're not sound, they don't have they don't put themselves
in any schematic situation where you're like, Okay, this team
has the advantage schematically. And when you can't do that,
when you have limited personnel, you're going to be one
to six. And that's what the Jets are.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
This is Jets head coach Aaron Glenna after the thirteen
to eleven loss earlier today to the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
Justice kN Knockers team. No, you don't need to be
your quarterback next week or we come on, man, what
kind of question is that?
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Hey, your game.
Speaker 12 (23:26):
There's a number of guys that you know, I mean
sometimes this league is like this and there are guys
that have bad games.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
That doesn't mean you just bench them. Come on, you
know better than that.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Nine to seventeen for forty five yards. As a team,
they had negative ten yards passing. That's because Fields was
sacked nine times for a loss of fifty five yards.
So for a team, passing stat that gets taken away
from fields is total, hence the negative ten that Carrie
mentioned earlier. But I will say this, You're right. Their
defense did play well. They got a holding call for
(23:58):
a safety. They they finally did get a turnover. There
are errors. There were clear errors. The end of the
half in just letting the clock run out was a
big faux pas. Calling a timeout to punt on fourth
and one was a big, big error. Not having a
play to get four more yards so you could try
to attempt a sixty yardfield goal to win it at
(24:19):
the end was a faux pas. However, I am not
ready to go Nathaniel Hackett on Aaron Glenn. At this point,
it's oh to six, and Aaron Glenn is going into
that organization to try to do what Dan Campbell did
at Detroit because that's where Aaron Glenn was prior to this.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
And as we saw with the Lions, it.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Doesn't happen overnight, and there are mistakes, and in fact,
it may not happen early in year two. But you
can't give the guy just six games now, justin fields
and the question there maybe they misjudged it. They got
two games coming up in their next two opponents where
they have defenses that are susceptible. Panthers next week we
(25:04):
just saw them against Cowboys. We just talked to the
Adam and Meat about it. The Denver's are great defense.
Going overseas, dealing with that, you're gonna have some lumps.
I'm just not ready to be out on Aaron Glenn,
even though that seems to be the hot topic on
social media today.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
No, no, no, I'm not out on Aaron Glenn yet either.
I think you're right. I mean, to build a culture,
it takes time and it takes commitment. And I know
when you say that to the New York Jets and
their fan base they don't want to hear that.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Right.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
It's been fifteen years since they've been to the playoffs, right,
so you know that's part of what you see on
X or Twitter, right, like the angry fan that's been
fanned up for fifteen years. But yes, I'm not out
on Aaron Glenn yet. That team has has a lot
of holes. They have no playmakers on the outside. They
got one and Garrett Wilson, who obviously you can't win
(25:50):
with one receiver that's an NFL receiver and not even end.
Mason Taylor is new and he's gonna be okay, but
he's a rookie.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
I also think you show off from Wilson today. Maybe
it was Patrick Cirtan. Maybe it's an urgency of being
zero to five. Yeah, Wilson seemed rushed. Yep, he seemed
on edge, and that's not something that you want from
someone that's a leader. But it does seem that maybe
that was getting to him today because there was a
call too that could have been a fumble. They ended
up calling it an incomplete pass. Yes, but it's a
(26:20):
catch that Garrett Wilson makes all the time and in
that situation he didn't. So there's something, there's something wrong.
So Aaron Glenn's now duty as the head coach is
to make sure that those things don't happen again with
your team as you're trying to build that foundation.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Dan, that's a great point. I'm glad you brought that
up because I was gonna I wanted to hit on
that and I forgot about it. But that's the other thing.
When you're bad and you are a standout type of
player on a team, the tendency is to do what
to try to open compensate right, to do too much,
to do too much Garrett, Garrett Wilson, fumbling, you know,
guys going out of their way to try to make
the miraculous, herculean play.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
And you can't do that in NFL.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
You cannot take it on your shouldas as an individual
to say I'm gonna go out and win this game.
That's starting from the quarterback to anybody else. Like, if
you go with it with that approach, you want to
make mistakes.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. It is End Zone
Radio here on Fox Sports Radio. Three games going on
in this late window. Let's jump over to the news
desk with Moncey Bolanos, who's giving us the latest of
what's happening in Tampa, what's happening in Green Bay, and
what's happening in Las Vegas as well?
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Where the Titans.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
I know, I had a scoring attempt, but him Ward's
arm hit picked off and the Raiders get out of
it unscathed.
Speaker 8 (27:32):
I'm gonna start with my personal life.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Oh, I mean something was good, what happened, something.
Speaker 11 (27:37):
Was happening, because I just I don't even know how.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
To respond to this. Your friend text me right now.
I haven't heard from I haven't. No, I'm not talking
to this person.
Speaker 11 (27:47):
But your friend Dan, by the way, Lad McConkey has
been great for me since he torpedoed your season.
Speaker 10 (27:53):
What are we doing?
Speaker 1 (27:55):
What are we doing?
Speaker 7 (27:56):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Monzy got chopped in our guillotine league, Like, I'm not
even doing this anymore?
Speaker 8 (28:02):
And you want to? Do you want to point out
to me something that I probably already know? Do you
want to I'm confused.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
He's trying to get it off, get it off.
Speaker 10 (28:12):
Anymore.
Speaker 8 (28:13):
I mean, I'm not even in Lily anymore.
Speaker 11 (28:15):
And so I'm just like, and I say, your friend,
because our friendship is over.
Speaker 8 (28:18):
So I said, so there's that, don't I like, I'm
minding my own business watching here. I get by the way,
lad McConkie has been great for me. Oh, thank you
so much. No, not even a hell.
Speaker 11 (28:34):
By the way, that's how it started, by the way,
So I want to say, by the way, I hope
you trip on your way to your car later.
Speaker 8 (28:40):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (28:43):
That's insane.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
What I deserve this?
Speaker 8 (28:48):
How could you strains.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
At work and didn't go mental? She went dental?
Speaker 11 (28:56):
Okay, guys, So what's going on in these three games
that we are watching. Well, the Buccaneers of a slight
lead over the forty nine Ers fourteen to thirteen. The
latest touchdown for Tampa Bay was a rushing touchdown from
Sean Tucker. So right now fourteen thirteen, two minutes to go,
Packers ten zero over the Bengals down to the final
minute here, and then at halftime it is the Raiders
(29:18):
over the Titans ten zero in that one as Gino
Smith did connect with Michael Mayer for a touchdown.
Speaker 8 (29:25):
So that's how they're up ten zero.
Speaker 11 (29:27):
What happened earlier today the Colts outscore of the Cardinals
thirty one to twenty seven. Indianapolis improves to five and one.
By the way, in case he missed a story about
Anthony Richardson, he suffered an orbital ie fracture during pregame
warmups after an issue with an elastic band.
Speaker 8 (29:42):
It had to be taken into the hospital. Yes, they are,
but how did you get your orbital fracture? The Chargers
hit a late go ahead.
Speaker 11 (29:51):
Thirty three yard field goal to defeat the Dolphins twenty
nine to twenty seven. The Seahawks took down the Jaguars
twenty to twelve. They got interesting there at the end,
but Seattle the Rams outscored the Ravens seventeen to three.
But Sean McVay did say after Sean McVay, Ravens head
coach John Harbat did say after the game that they
expect Lamar Jackson and Roquan Smith to return. After the
(30:11):
Ravens Week seven by Sean McVay said that wide receiver
Puka Nakua has an ankle injury. He powered through it,
but he's uncertain if he's gonna play next week against
the Jaguars in London. The Patriots topped the Saints twenty
five to nineteen. Drake May three for two hundred and
sixty one yards and three touchdowns. The Steelers had a
twenty three to nine win over the Broncos, but the
(30:32):
upset of the day goes to the Panthers. They walked
it off with the thirty three yard field goal from
Ryan Fitzpatrick to upset the Cowboys thirty to twenty seven.
And yes, this morning, the Broncos survived an ugly game
thirteen to eleven against the.
Speaker 8 (30:45):
Jets in London.
Speaker 11 (30:46):
When it comes to college football, this morning, breaking news
that Penn State had fired their head coach James Franklin.
Speaker 8 (30:53):
He don't worry. He's gonna be fine.
Speaker 11 (30:55):
He gets like fifty million dollars to walk away. Terry
Smith is going to be the interim coach at Penn State.
He's been a long time assistant there all twelve years
with Franklin. Oregon State fired their head coach Trent Bray.
And then when it comes to the AP College Football poll, Ohio.
Speaker 8 (31:09):
State still in at number one, Miami comes in at number.
Speaker 11 (31:12):
Two, but give it up for Indiana highest ranking in
program history, coming in at number three.
Speaker 8 (31:18):
Number six is Alabama, who moved up two spots.
Speaker 11 (31:21):
Usc comes in at number twenty and Texas back in
the poll at number twenty one. Oklahoma plunged eight spots
number fourteen, losing to Texas this past weekend, and five
teams dropped out of the poll, Michigan, Illinois, Arizona State,
Iowa State, and Florida State.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Dan's loving that Misigan's just falling out of there.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
It's not good.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
I care about one game, and that's coming up November
twenty ninth.
Speaker 3 (31:48):
That's what I care about.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
That's nothing else matters except that day.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
By the way, did you.
Speaker 8 (31:55):
Know Damconcae has had a good season, a good two weeks.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Joke to cheer you up.
Speaker 8 (32:00):
Okay, go.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
Do you know James Franklin he got forty nine million
dollars in ANIL money to leave. Yeah, Nil's answer. Now
I'm leaving now. So now I'm leaving with forty nine
million dollars.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
He's here, He's here for a couple more hours. Seahawks
one today. You're good.
Speaker 8 (32:20):
I'm glad. I'm glad, glad.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
All right, hit her up at Monci Belanos, just don't
text her about her chopt Guillabteine team. Be sure to
check out Fox Sports Radios YouTube channel. There's tons of
great videos for many of our Fox Sports Radio shows.
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube. You'll see a
whole bunch of video highlights from our shows and'll be
sure to subscribe so you all always have instant access
to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. What do
(32:43):
you think about James Franklin getting the acts mid season
after that lost to Northwestern?
Speaker 4 (32:48):
I mean, mid season is always kind of weird. I mean,
just let that, just let him coach out this year.
I mean, you know he wasn't gonna last. I thought
this was it. Anyway, the guy never can win the
big one, and you know, it's just it's unfortunate for
the players more than more than the coach. And that's
a way, yes, So think about this.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
So they lost to Oregon a couple of weeks ago
in that overtime game, and obviously you're distraught another big
game that they again took to overtime and I was
at home, but they end up losing to Oregon in
that spot. In a span of what two plus weeks,
you go from possibly being a national championship contender to
(33:25):
now out of a job. That is knee jerk reaction.
I'm sorry, I get understanding James Franklin understands the narrative.
Firing him today does nothing except appease maybe other people,
unless somebody was like, you know what, I was about
to give this fifty million dollar check to the school
or whatever. Now I'm not going to if he's going
(33:46):
to be the head coach, Well, you're now paying him
fifty million dollars to leave. He probably wasn't there for
the long term to do it now after two bad losses.
Guess what that happens in college sports, and it's a
different game now.
Speaker 11 (34:00):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
I'm not saying you should have kept this job. I
just don't think they should have fired him today.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
No, midseason is tough, Like I said, I mean, obviously
some players I'm sure don't don't like him. I'm sure
that's just that's life, right, Everybody's not going to like you.
But I'm sure they respected him. And so to see
somebody you respect get put out of a job like
that midseason after all the work they put in in
the off season, it's a lot.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
They're at Iowa than a buye then at number one
Ohio State after that, So good luck to the Niitney
allons Is. They now chart a new course without James Franklin.
He is Carrie Road. I'm Dan Byer. Raiders got the
football right now, early in the third quarter. They are
in Tennessee territory, trying to extend that ten nothing lead.
As Montsi told you, Packers up on the Bengals Ton
nothing at the half and the Buccaneers into the end zone.
Speaker 4 (34:44):
Dan, that lot, that Penn State job is going to
be a coveted win. Though who I can see Saban
coming back? Oh, I called it right now, Dan, you
heard it.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
You guys heard it live right now.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
There's zero chances of that happening when you take down him.
Say Saban is coming back to Penn State. Pleaset take
down my There is zero percent that is that is
opening not Nope, not gonna do it, even though he
would do a good job. He's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
Montzi's got fantasy numbers. Next on end Zone Radio on
(35:16):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio. Forty nine ers
said Buccaneers second.
Speaker 13 (35:24):
Down two from the forty nine thirty four yard line,
moving left, shot John look sidecar right in motion, Cameron
Johnson dropping the throw, mayfield pressure coming throws the ball downf.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
You're gonna bite him, cootball camera.
Speaker 14 (35:35):
Johnson touched down Tapa by touchdown Tapa.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
By back to Dan Byer and carry Rhoades.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Gene Decker off ninety eight rock Buccaneers Radio Network.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
One of the great voices, Tampa Bay with the score.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
However, the Niners are on the march right now, Yes,
ten seconds left first and ten from the Buccaneers twenty
four yard line. Mac Jones throws one up into the
end zone. There's now six seconds left. I bring out
the field goal. You need to kick it, and they
don't have any timeouts, so I think the forty nine
ers will settle for three. Raiders had a third down
and goal. Gino Smith was sacked, but it was a
(36:12):
face mask. So now they're set up first in goal.
Ashton genty gets into the end zone, touchdown, run Raiders
sixteen Titans. Nothing extra point coming up here for the
Raiders on that play, and Green Bay's up on the
Bengals ten nothing at the half. We almost had history.
Evan McPherson ye kicked a sixty seven yard field goal,
(36:37):
which would have been the longest in NFL history. However,
Green Bay called timeout. It hit the crossbar and went
through would have been the longest field goal in NFL history.
Tried it again and missed it. So there's the there's
the history that could have been. To do it at
Lambeau outside on grass. Pretty impressive, but in the end,
(37:00):
and it was for an Ax.
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Well, he'll always be able to tell the son. He
still made it, so hey, the history still exists in
his mind.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
Dan. So that's all. Just doctor the video. That's all.
We did that video of it, Ai Now, yeah, just
take it out. Take the flag out. Raiders extra point
was good.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
So they're up seventeen to nothing on the Titans, seven
minutes to go on the third quarter. Let's go over
to the news desk. Monti Blanos has got some fantasy
numbers for.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
US fantasy hits and missing.
Speaker 3 (37:28):
Right, Mancy, what do you got for Week six?
Speaker 8 (37:29):
All right, we're gonna start with the hits here, guys,
keep the vibes high. Not six seven quarterbacks.
Speaker 11 (37:36):
Drake May dropped thirty two points for your fantasy football
team today.
Speaker 8 (37:40):
He threw for.
Speaker 11 (37:40):
Two hundred and sixty one yards and three touchdowns. He
also had nine carries for twenty eight yards. So Drake
May right now, is your top quarterback my Patriots, And
there you go, and I know they're right there. Hey,
they're right there. Yeah. Yeah, the Bills are going to
be set that they lost that well against who was
it that they just also they shouldn't have lost to anyways.
Dak Prescott all So dropped twenty eight points for you
(38:01):
on your fantasy team. He threw for two hundred and
sixty one yards and three touchdowns as well. When it
comes to the running backs, Rico Dowdell, I'm sure you
all drafted him with this expectation. Thirty three points today
for Ricodowdele. I'm playing against him. I'm not a happy camper.
Thirty carries one hundred and eighty three yards plus four
(38:22):
catches for fifty six yards and a touchdown. That was
Rico Dawdle today, Devon a Chan in the loss, thirty points.
Speaker 8 (38:30):
For your fantasy team.
Speaker 11 (38:31):
Sixteen carries one hundred and twenty eight yards two touchdowns.
Speaker 8 (38:35):
He also had four catches for twenty two yards.
Speaker 11 (38:38):
When it comes to wide receivers, George Pickens gave you
thirty one points today. He had nine catches for one
hundred and sixty eight yards and one touch down George
Pickens fuck having a good time.
Speaker 8 (38:49):
I'm gonna guess, yeah, I'm guessing he's having a good time.
Speaker 11 (38:52):
I know they will not overall score for the team,
but I think he's having a good time. Jackson Smith
and Jigba also gave you third thirty points today. Eight
catch who's one hundred and sixty two yards and a touchdown?
Speaker 8 (39:06):
Not too shadows.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
There's wide receiver that is and the best one of
them all still maybe uh in college right now?
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Michell see you thinks so?
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Yeah, Yeah, he's Yeah, he is an absolute stuff.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (39:24):
I honestly, I can't believe his heismans odds aren't shorter
than they are. But he hasn't had the monster numbers
that everybody looks at. But he just affects the game
so much. That's a big deal. Jeremiah Smith, I was like,
that's I just was like, are you gonna keep us
on the edge?
Speaker 8 (39:42):
Like I think I know, but I wasn't sure.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I'm so mad at myself for missing the six seven
on on Evan McPherson's field. You guys are talking about it.
I'm so mad, theyll mad at myself just went over. Yeah,
it went all over.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Oh it wasn't.
Speaker 8 (39:59):
Really has been ruled out. I'm done much much?
Speaker 3 (40:02):
Oh boy, it was.
Speaker 4 (40:03):
It wasn't the paper plane over his head, it was
it was the six seven. It was a six to
seven flying by h.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
Hit her up at Manti Bolano's fine carry out carried
twenty five roads. You can find me at dan Byer
on Fox. Niners kicked a field goal at the end
of the half, so it's twenty to sixteen. However, Eddie
Pinero had his footstep down, and those kickers shoes aren't thick. No,
even if it's your non kicking foot, they're probably like
wrestling shoes.
Speaker 3 (40:27):
Right, that's even worse that plant foot. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
So even when the forty nine ers get it right,
they can't get it right. Raiders on top of the
Titan seventeen and nothing, and again the Packers hold that
ten to nothing lead on the Bengals.
Speaker 3 (40:39):
How did it all go down in Miami? Two has
got thoughts. That's next.
Speaker 2 (40:44):
The Bengals are in Packers territory, while the Titans have
just put points up on the board.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Welcome in.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
It is end Zone radio on Fox Sports Radio Week six.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
One week before Week seven, they carry out.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
They carry twenty five road six seven, Mary Mack six seven.
Yeah that is Erry Mack aka. She's young now taking
over Shay Morgan guard lead to lap Bar executive producers. Today,
Manci Blanios is at the news desk. Titans kick a
(41:19):
field goal, so it's seventeen to three Bengals now, first
and ten from the green Bay thirty five yard line.
Not that Green Bay's playing with their food, but they're
kind of playing with their food a little bit for
a Bengals team that's just wanting to hang around. Green
Bay came in as more than a two touchdown favorite
in this one.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Who are the Packers? Like, I don't know yet.
Speaker 4 (41:40):
Obviously they have weapons on the offensive side of the ball,
but they don't score, and they're not aggressive they you know,
they they tend to lean on Josh Jacobs a little
bit as the season's gone on. And their defense, which
the defense is obviously really good. I mean, the Bengals
have zero points now, but I don't I don't know
who this team is yet. And I thought in week
(42:00):
after week two it was the best team in football,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (42:04):
Like, who are they?
Speaker 2 (42:06):
They had a schedule where they take the Lions out
week one to get jacked up for that one, and
then you have a short week and the Commanders come
in and short week on the road, tough spot for Washington.
So to your point, two weeks in, they did look
like the best team. Plus there was so much hype
about Micah Parsons like that truly was. But green Bay
(42:27):
like any NFL team, But I think green Bay could
be shooted for it is Josh Jacobs. Then we'll score
two touchdowns, have twenty eight carries and one hundred yards,
and you'll hold the ball for forty minutes.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
Right.
Speaker 2 (42:41):
That's the way. That's the way to do it, right.
And then if you're up at that point, the other
team is dropping back, Michah Parsons is.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Fresh, you attack him. I think that's that's the recipe.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
It might be the recipe, and I think that's why
they're doing it. But you're supposed to have a guy
that's a difference maker at the quarterback position, and he
just doesn't look like that right now. He makes good throws,
but he also makes bad decisions sometimes and I think
that plays into it as well. But I'm looking for
him to step up and take that next step so,
I mean, playing that brand of football can win you games,
(43:13):
but it won't wing the big one.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
We're gonna get to leadership and the comment said to
a tongue of Iloa made after the Dolphins fell to
the Chargers today, But there is there's something that kind
of comes full circle. I was at a Packers Bengals
game in nineteen ninety two at lambeau Field. The reason
that that game is significant is because that was the
game that Dommakowski got hurt and was replaced by Brett Farr.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
Brett Favre.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
At some point, you know, Reggie White's on the team,
Santana Dotson's on the team.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
What year was that?
Speaker 4 (43:41):
That in nineteen ninety two and he was my team
made in two thousand and seven. That's insane.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Yeah, I mean, like I'm just thinking about the time. Yes,
that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (43:48):
Brett Favre didn't need to be the leader of that
team because there were other guys that were the leaders.
Leroy Butler was was, you know, on that team on
the Super Bowl teams when they won Super Bowl thirty one.
But at some point Brett Favre does it take over
and be the face of the team, whether he was
a leader or not. I don't know. I wasn't in
the locker room. Aaron Rodgers seemed to take over that
(44:11):
role for the Packers, and there was a young corn.
In fact, when I was told by people who were
in that locker room that when Fire was doing his
deal of retirement and whatnot, and when he ended up
going to then play with you at the New York Jets,
that Aaron, because of him being young, knew all of
the young guys and there was more camaraderie with Aaron Rodgers.
(44:33):
So they weren't sad to see Farv go because their
guy got to be the starting quarterback and it's a
better fit. You wonder why that transition maybe hasn't happened
with Jordan Love. Not that the guys don't like son
I'm trying to say at all, but for him to
naturally take over and transform as the leader, I think
it's set out. I think it's there. There is no
(44:53):
Reggie White that's overlooking that team that would have that
role if he were to take over, and for that
maybe not to happen as of yet, I do think
is an indictment on Jordan Love.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
Yeah, I mean I think he's too quiet, and that's
just from my observation from Afar. He has that cool
hand look, cool hand luke look about him all the time.
He doesn't seem rattled in all those things. But I
don't I mean I I don't ever see him on film,
will on tape talking to his teammates or rally. He
doesn't seem like that guy. So to your point, I
don't know who the leader is on that team, And
(45:28):
I mean who would be Who would mean would Josh
Jacobs be one of those guys, like who could it be? No,
because it would be Jordan Love. He would be the
guy that was there. He was there before Josh James,
So yeah, so he would be the guy. Maybe it
was Kenny Clark.
Speaker 2 (45:42):
Guess what, Kenny Clark's not there because you went and
got you went and got Micah Parsons. So yeah, so
I think that answers it. Bengals, by the way, I've
got it down to the one yard line. Tee Higgins
had passed from Joe Flacco, so it's going to be
first in goal. Midway through the third quarter, Cincinnati trying
to run a little hurry up. We'll see what they
do with the football in that scenario, but just ten
to nothing Green Bay, and it could be a lot closer. Oh,
(46:06):
some laundry on the field. Bengals have a procedure penalty.
We'll tell you what Cincinnati does if they score in
that scenario. Titans kick a field goal.
Speaker 3 (46:15):
We told you.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Raiders up seventeen to three in that contest. Earlier today,
the Chargers improved a foreign two with a win over
the Miami Dolphins twenty nine to twenty seven, as the
Chargers kicked a late field goal. Cameron Dicker thirty three
yards out, kicks it with five seconds left. Chargers get
a twenty nine to twenty seven victory. This from a
Chargers team that ended up blowing a lead to the
(46:37):
Dolphins that at one point they were up to twenty
six to thirteen in the fourth quarter. But the Dolphins
come back, rally, take a lead, and then the Chargers
kick the field goal, eate they're one in five. This
questions about Mike McDaniel's job security, and to a tongue
of by Law after today's loss, had this to say
about what's going on and what's not going on in
the Dolphins locker room.
Speaker 12 (46:57):
I think it starts with the leadership and helping articulate
that for the guys, and then what we're expecting out
of the guys, right, we're expecting this, Are we getting that?
Speaker 1 (47:07):
Are we not getting that?
Speaker 12 (47:08):
We have guys showing up to player only meetings late,
guys not showing up to player only meeting Like, There's
a lot that goes into that.
Speaker 15 (47:16):
Do we have to make this mandatory?
Speaker 12 (47:18):
Do we not have to make this mandatory? So so
it's it's a lot of it's a lot of things
of that nature that we got to get cleaned up.
And it starts with the little things like that.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Your former player, out of those comments hit.
Speaker 4 (47:33):
That sounds like a guy that was coached by Nick Saban.
That's two references of Nick Saban on the show so far.
But it sounds like a guy that you know he
likes accountability, right, and there are players that like that.
I'm one of those guys. As a player, I like
the accountability. I liked when if I did something wrong,
you tell me and let me let me know what
it is so I can figure it out and actually
(47:53):
hold people accountable. Because if you're going to set a
template for a team and you come in as a
new coach. I'm sure in his introductory speech, everybody's gonna
be held accountable. We're gonna do it this way, this way,
this way. And then as you continue to coach for
years and things don't go your way, you see some
slippet sometimes or on the flip side, you see other
you see guys that try to enforce it too much
(48:15):
where it's it's almost like laughable what you're trying to do.
So there's like extremes. It seems like this team has
gone through extremes right early on success. Early on, Mike
mcdonnel's was the was the hot coach that was nerdy
and cool. He wore the sneakers and he was like, ah,
he's in South Beach doing this thing. They score a
lot of points, and now that's not happening. When that
(48:36):
doesn't happen and things switch, you have guys that get
outside of themselves and want the ball more or think
they're not being taken care of in a certain way.
And then you see those fissures happen within the locker
room and you have guys that start doing their own thing.
That's what's happened in Miami. It's very clear and simple.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
What's shocking to me is maybe shocky's not the word,
but surprising is two is talking about leadership and the
places where I would look for leadership the most with
my team are with my quarterback and my head coaches.
And I don't know if to have caught himself. I
don't know if to a hurt himself when he talked
about the leadership and the accountability, because then he transitioned
(49:14):
to the players and what they haven't been doing with
players only meetings and apparently it's not perfect attendance and
there's hardy slips being handed out. Those things may happen
when you're one and five, but no matter how it
tries to spin, if you're too and you take the
word leadership, it falls on your shoulders. He threw three
(49:37):
interceptions today, two in the ballgame the end of the game.
One is just your yeah, five seconds left, you only
have so much to do. But I think that that's
what hits the ear wrong. And I do think that
in a way he threw his coach under the bus.
And I like Mike McDaniel. I enjoy the Mike McDaniel experience.
(50:00):
But as we've seen, not everybody does and not everybody
in Miami likes it when you're one and four now
today one in five, So that doesn't do Mike McDaniel
any favors. But I just I think that Tua threw
his threw his head coach under the bus in that scenario.
And I don't know if that's great leadership by Tua
in that case one hundred percent through him under the bus.
(50:21):
But I would say him even saying that, because it
seemed very casual.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
He didn't even see it that way.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
And that's the real problem, right like he said it,
and you're right, it is an indictment of the head coach.
I mean, if you're talking about leadership, it falls on
that guy first. So I'm sure I don't think he
did it on purpose in the fact that he was
just aiming at Mike, but he's saying what he wanted
to say, and he was honest, and it is it's
a slap in Mike McDaniel's face. And I think when
(50:50):
you say you enjoyed the Mike McDaniel's experience, I think
they did too, until they didn't anymore. And that's what
happens with head coaches. I mean, your time where's thin
When you don't win, and when you saw have to
lose the way they're losing and it doesn't seem like
you can get it fixed, this is where you go.
Speaker 2 (51:06):
Cincinnati Bengals on a fourth and goal have scored a
touchdown Tanner Hudson a touchdown pass from Joe Flacco back
of the end zone three yards out. Cincinnati's made it
a ballgame at Lambeau with number sixteen Joe Flacco and
a Bengals uniform. A ten to six game. But in
a scenario where they're down ten at the three yard line,
(51:28):
they go for the touchdown and they they're able to
cash in. I think they're looking at the review, but
I believe Hudson got both feet in and possession of
the football. Heck, you got both feet in a knee
and so that should be a good score for Cincinnati.
Speaker 4 (51:43):
Yeah, it's crazy when you go down there. We've talked
about it, Dan, I've talked about it. Teams turned down
points so much, and obviously it looks good here because
they got the six. But man, you only in two
score game kick the I mean, I'm just of that that.
Like I even with the Rams early in the Ravens game,
they was up seventeen to thirteen, with a chance to
kick the field, go and go, buy three scores against
(52:04):
the team that can't score. They go for it, don't
get it, and then you know Baltimore is still in
the game.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
Well, and what's crazy about this? This was the opening
drive of the second half. Yeah, there's four forty six
left in the third quarter. Cincinnata just held the ball
for ten minutes of game time and now in a
three point game, and maybe you feel a little pressure
if you're Green Bay ten to seven in that contest.
San Francisco's got the ball in Tampa territory. In fact,
(52:33):
they're in the red zone facing a third and one
from the Buccaneers seventeen yard line, down four in a
twenty to sixteen ball game. This this was gonna be
the fun one of the day. And so far, so
good between these two teams both coming in at four
and one in the NFC.
Speaker 4 (52:48):
I mean, right now, the way Santahan has these guys
playing and prepared, man, I mean, if they can win, right,
if they can win this game in Tampa, I mean
he's on that short list of like, you know, coach
of the Year type stuff.
Speaker 3 (53:00):
He was on your list when we did it last week? Right,
was here? Was he here? Pick at the he wasn't
to pick the pick ah who loves to pick.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
I threw up Brian Schottenheimer as Steichen of the Colts.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
I mean it probably was him, right, because there's nobody had.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
Any Todd Bowles, another candidate just on the on the
other sideline there, Niners got the third and short, so
they take over first and ten. Some laundry on the
field on that first and den play. We'll tell you
what happens on the other side of that hit carry
out by Kerry twenty five Roads. You can find me
at dan Byer on Fox. They're underway in the fourth
quarter in Las Vegas. Titans on top of the Raiders seven.
(53:38):
Excuse me, the Raiders on top of the Titans seventeen
to three. As Tennessee was finally able to get on
the scoreboard. Tonight, it's Game one of the America League
Championship Series Mariners.
Speaker 3 (53:48):
And Blue Jays.
Speaker 2 (53:49):
And I know for the youngins around, there was a
time when the Blue Jays were going to the World Series.
There was also a time where I felt the Blue
Jays were the most hated team in baseball because of
how good they were or in the early nineteen nineties.
That was a long long time ago. And now you've
got them back at the ALCS. You have a Mariners
team carry it's never even been to the World Series, right,
(54:11):
No matter what, it's a feel good story. It starts
tonight on Fox. But game one in Toronto between the
Mariners and Jays.
Speaker 4 (54:16):
I don't know how feel good it is. They beat
the Yankees, so let's relax on the field good damn
but no, but it is a feel good story. If
Lad Junior has been playing well, I mean that team
hitting the cover off the ball right now, and now
you go against the team with the Mariners that it
kind of seems like a little bit of destiny's working.
I mean, for them to win that game, you know,
the other night and get to this point. I wonder
how much they have in the tank for Game one.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
But we'll see. The Mariners.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Did en Brian add Brian Wu to the ALCS rosters
so he will be available to pitch. Monty was excited
that Max Scherzer was being added to the Toronto Alcs
roster as well. No, Bulbushet not healthy enough, so they
left him off that matchup. But tonight Game one Mariners
in Blue Jays, and then tomorrow night a NLCS. So
we'll get to the last night's NLDS Game five still
(55:02):
a little bit later, tell you a story about that.
But Brewers and Dodgers should be fun as well when
you're checking out the Major League Baseball postseason. During the
entire MLB postseason, Strauss made history as the first brand
ever on the helmets workwear Build to perform, smart pocket design,
real comfort and durability, from grit to glory. Gear up
today at Strauss dot com, st r au ss dot com.
(55:27):
He's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer, our NFL insider. Adam
Kaplan joins us next year. On Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 6 (55:35):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio Titans and Raiders.
Speaker 12 (55:40):
So it's first and goal following the penalty on Tennessee
inside the five GINO up to.
Speaker 6 (55:46):
Middle Ashton tenp for the whole touchdown.
Speaker 1 (55:49):
Raiders deuce in the zode. The Raiders pay off the
opening drive.
Speaker 8 (55:56):
And go sixteen to nothing with seven.
Speaker 15 (55:59):
O four to go here in the third.
Speaker 1 (56:02):
Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (56:06):
Raider Nation Radio on the call and the Raiders right now,
trying to put some points on the board that would
make it really difficult for Tennessee to come back from,
even after what they did last week in Arizona seventeen
to three, Raiders facing a third and eight, you get
inside the thirty yard line seventeen to three with eight
and a half minutes to go, Packers are in the
end zone. Josh Jacob's touchdown run extra point, penning sixteen
(56:29):
to seven Green Bay early in the fourth quarter, and
Amecca A. Buca is doubtful to return with a hamstring
injury for the Buccaneers, so already severely shorthanded. No Mike Evans,
we knew no Chris Godwin this game now. Abuca doubtful
to return. Buccaneers holding on to a one point lead
against the forty nine Ers twenty to nineteen, more than probable.
(56:50):
He is in our NFL Insider. Adam Kaplan joins us
here on End Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio, Happy
Week six.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Adam, how are you got?
Speaker 1 (56:58):
I'm good?
Speaker 16 (56:59):
Yeah, Look, it's it's been wild and will lots of injuries. Unfortunately,
you just mentioned they have Buka injury. You know, Evan's out.
Mike Evans who's had hamstring problems, going back to text
A and M and then Chris Godwin got hurt again
a different injury, similar but different, so that he's kind
of weak to week, so they got to see what
he can do. And now Booka has been the best
(57:20):
rookie receiver. He's been an absolutely phenomenal way ahead of schedule.
I mean this, I mean they're putting a lot on
Baker Mayfield right now, and don't forget, you know, running back.
Speaker 15 (57:29):
They've got an injury.
Speaker 16 (57:30):
So and that's why I we shot White with Bucky
Irving dealing with two injuries, That's why I were shot White.
He's starting and getting all the work pretty much. So yeah,
they're beat up. The Niners have beat up. Really feel
bad for Fred Warnert. It looks like a major injury.
We'll learn out more about the game. Kyle Shannon's pretty
usually open about it might be a broken leg WAF
to see, But bottom line is lots of key injuries
(57:51):
and as I said, you know, a couple of weeks,
there are no dominant teams anymore. It's a pretty even
a competitive baalun This is what the league is looking for,
and they're certainly getting it don.
Speaker 4 (58:02):
Well, Adam, I'm gonna plass back on you right now
and say the Colts will dominate right now.
Speaker 16 (58:05):
They're good, They're pretty good. Yeah, they almost blew it today.
They they How about Jacoby Brissett, the former cult little
revenge game for him, Yeah, give him credit. It really
had a fantastic game. Theyre also were a little bit shorthanded.
They were down free running backs at this game. So
but the story really for me and Daniel Jones, Yes,
but they were emergence of Jonathan Taylor, who were just
(58:27):
really look like people were sketching their heads list or
what's wrong with this Guy's hadn't been a factor in
two years, but he's all the way back. The defense
has played better, Kary than I expected or anyone probably expected.
Speaker 15 (58:39):
Offensive line has been better.
Speaker 16 (58:41):
They've got a really excellent rookie Teddy and Tyler Warren
of scored today, and they're just playing really good football.
I look, Daniel Jones got a backup contract fourteen million.
That's a backup contract, that's not starting money. And they
did that because of they won an Anthony Richardson when
the starting job he didn't win it. I know a
lot of people question it. But guess what they were right?
They won, Daniel Jones. It's turned out to be a
(59:01):
great decision.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
Well, Daniel Jones, I think was the reason they won
today because that defense could not stop anything.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
You mentioned Jacoba Brissett.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
Yeah, I had flowded this week when we were talking
about trade with the Bengals on the names that were
out there, and I even threw up Brissett as a
possibility for Cincinnati. Maybe the Cardinals said no, maybe a
call was made. But how did Joe Flacco end up
in a Bengals uniform?
Speaker 13 (59:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (59:22):
Damn.
Speaker 16 (59:22):
My understanding is they had a bunch of names, they
whittled it down to Flacco and a couple others, and
they went with Flacco. They know, obviously in the same division.
And when you really look at it, he gives them, look,
he's been there, he's done that. The money, by the way,
the money Brissett's making a little bit more money, but
it's really not too much. It was really not a factor.
(59:44):
But they wanted Joe's experience. And now now the way
that people watch Joe's tape looked at it. I was
holding the ball a little bit too long, you know. Cleveland,
they had they had receiver problems, not any depth. They
had one of their starting receivers get hurt, so that
hurt them. And now obviously he goes in. He it's
three days of practice and a walkthrough and it gets
(01:00:05):
thrown in there, and I mean he's hanging in there.
Speaker 15 (01:00:06):
You know.
Speaker 16 (01:00:06):
They cut it down. Then you mentioned Josh Shakop's scored,
so they're probably going to lose the game. But over time,
the hope is guys and he could develop some chemistry here. Now, then,
of course, as we get to the trade deadline, which
by the way, is not till November fourth, which is Tuesday,
they could be sellers. So they're typically don't get evolved
much in trades. But now look, if they keep losing,
(01:00:29):
and again if they lose it, it'll be two and four.
Speaker 15 (01:00:31):
Wouldn't surprise me if they're sellers at that deadline, Adam.
Speaker 4 (01:00:34):
Let's I want to talk about the team we talked
about in the offseason. I said they would be a
team that to look out for it to possibly make
that wild card is a long way to go. But
let's talk about Drake May and the four and two Patriots.
Remember I called that, tell me about them and what
they're what they're doing besides Drake May I mean there's
I mean, they're playing solid. It seems like they're playing
the Patriot away right now, So talk about that a little.
Speaker 16 (01:00:55):
They're playing hard at a Texan was someone with the
Patriots on their way to the airport. Look, they understood
kind of when they came in here that this is
a transitional team. You know that you met Drake made
as his second year. When the staff came in, coaching
staff specifically, they they thought they look, they had seen
his tape at North Carolina.
Speaker 15 (01:01:15):
They knew that he was a pretty.
Speaker 16 (01:01:16):
Raw quarterback, very aggressive thrower, needed to play with some structure.
Last year, they thought his tape was better than they expected.
He's a great kid, wants to be coach. He's really
off to a good start. He was looking like one
of the most improved quarterbacks.
Speaker 15 (01:01:29):
In the league.
Speaker 16 (01:01:29):
Got look after that after they their first week. When
when you look at the Patriots curry to start the season.
You can't go by week one because you sold what
Detroit did. Detroit look bad in week one and they've
been great like that since then. But look, they they
again hammered at home. Well they didn't get hammered. They
didn't play well against the Raiders, and they have that
miracle win against the Dolphins, and they didn't play well
(01:01:50):
against the Steelers. Show Like most people, I'm like, all right, well,
it's kind of who I thought they would be. But
they've reared off three straight. That Buffalo win was unbelievable
last Sunday night. I mean that was hard to believe.
And look they got down to the stats that came back.
They closed it there. There certainly had a schedule when
you really look at it. Let's call it like the
the Oddsmakers game, maate and a half wins all admitute,
I like the under Some people were thinking Kerry that
(01:02:11):
this is his year's Chargers like last year, and that
turns out.
Speaker 15 (01:02:15):
To be right. They're ahead of schedule.
Speaker 16 (01:02:16):
And by the way, listen to the next two games
at the awful Titans, who could be having coaching changed
at some point in the next couple of weeks, and
they host the Browns were bad, so yeah, they could
really look they not say they're gonna win the division,
but on your point, carry to move back to Dan
a second, they absolutely deepened it here for the wild
card there's no question.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Well, I'm also going to say this because we're all
friends here, we all get along.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Adam.
Speaker 2 (01:02:39):
You had an audible gasp when Carrie called the Patriots
game last week.
Speaker 3 (01:02:43):
He called Patriots over the Bills.
Speaker 16 (01:02:45):
You said, I just couldn't sit because look, nobody went
in Buffalo and they're so young. No, that was a
great call. Look my team was Seattle to surprise people.
That looks pretty good.
Speaker 13 (01:02:58):
Now.
Speaker 16 (01:02:58):
They also got off to the questionable start, but they're
playing well now. Truth be told, I picked the Jaguars today.
See also, guys, what I'll be, I'll me I always
tell the truth.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
Luck, I know you did.
Speaker 16 (01:03:08):
When we go through thirty two teams over four or
five weeks, I start getting teams I could trust. The
Colts have my circle of trust. They're definitely my circle trust.
I didn't see it, but you know what, even against
bad teams, you bet just find a way to win.
Speaker 15 (01:03:23):
Look, covering the spread, that's a different.
Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
Detroy like, that's luck.
Speaker 15 (01:03:26):
Yeah, but they've got my trust.
Speaker 16 (01:03:28):
Now. Denver just barely one today. Their offensive pitiful, but
they found a way to.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Win Seattle, by the way, their first game without a
turnover today.
Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
So which helped them. They weren't magnificent, but it was enough.
Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
They got after Trevor Lawrence, I think sector total seven
times today Buccaneers got into the end zone.
Speaker 3 (01:03:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Tess Johnson forty five yard touchdown reception from Baker Mayfield
after Baker kept alive a drive on a third and fourteen,
got fifteen yards on the run. Heck, it may have
been third and fifteen and got fifteen point one yards,
but anyway, Tampa is extended to their lead over the
forty nine ers twenty seven to nineteen. So we just
played the two a tongue of by Lowell postgame contents.
Dolphins are one in five. We don't expect a lot
(01:04:08):
from them, obviously. However, when Tua comes out and says that,
does ownership react? How are they going to handle Mike
McDaniel's situation as it seems that his hot seat is
absolutely scalding right now?
Speaker 16 (01:04:19):
Yeah, Dan, They're going to know about it because owners
always find out. Then they have questions to the general
manager and you know, why is this happening? And Steve
Ross talking to people that Dolphins is usually generally patient,
but this doesn't bow well for McDaniel. Yeah, you're right.
I mean, look that coming in the season, you couldn't
expect him much. They lose Tarry Kill, it may never
play for them again. So yeah, he's kind of Look
(01:04:40):
if you situations to watch Tennessee with Brian Callahan, we're
not trying to get anyone far, but we're.
Speaker 15 (01:04:46):
Just being real here. Yeah.
Speaker 16 (01:04:47):
Yeah, now too, like yeah, Chris Career, Look there he is.
It's funny you mentioned that. I've evaluating that situation with
people around the league who I've asked to take a
look at it. Yeah, the roster's really not that good
to start. They've butchered the offensive line. I know they've
had injuries there, but you know, you have to be
able to call the offensive line and they have not
(01:05:07):
been able to do that. So yeah, I think it's
very fair. Mike Tannabomb, by the way, brought in Chris
Greer many years ago. So we'll see what happens here.
But that's another situation to watch as we go through it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
Yeah, and I met new front office in Tennessee too
with Brian.
Speaker 15 (01:05:21):
Well, yeah, you know that one's obvious.
Speaker 2 (01:05:23):
Yeah, yeah, because he's only he's only been there season
and a half. But they can't seem to get on
the right track in Nashville with the Titans. Adam Kaplan
or Fox Sports Radio, NFL Insider Inside the Birds find
him on Exit Kapelin NFL. Joining us here on Fox
Sports Radio. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Beyer. You got
one more for Adam.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
One more, one more, yeah, Adam. So let's talk about
the turnaround for the Panthers and what they're doing right now. Yeah,
they've found something in the run game. They they've taken
the load off Brian a little bit and now he's
looking like a guy that can actually make throws. And
what's going on with the turnaround in Carolina.
Speaker 16 (01:05:57):
Well, they got to run a game. Rico Dawdle's come
out of nowhere. He was miscast last year with the Cowboys.
That was something like what will go down? It's not
a starting running back, but I'll tell you what as
a backup and Traves Etn's brother Trevor, it's did a
good job today being asked to back up Dawdle.
Speaker 15 (01:06:12):
Ye thirty carries for.
Speaker 16 (01:06:13):
Dwllll not not on my bingo card. Really incredible and
and dallall actually lets led them and receiving This is
a great story. Give dall a credit. Had a number
of injuries over his career going back to college. But
then you know what, Bryce Young settled down. Now they've
had enough. They've had They have three starting offensive lineman out, guys.
I don't know if you know that that's very impressive
(01:06:34):
to put up thirty. I know the Cowboys defense is terrible,
really awful. How bad their defenses and Matty Eberflus, who's
knowniced a defensive mind, but it it's been an absolute disaster.
The problem is, guys, they haven't tackled anyone since the
Nickson administration.
Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
Terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
I tackled terrible. I got one last one for you.
Sure Aaron Glenn's coming Overlayer, Well, I had to.
Speaker 15 (01:07:00):
It's a shame. I mean, it's it's not good.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
No, But is he he's is he brought in to
do the Dan Campbell thing with the Jets, like I mean,
I would. I know Jets fans aren't happy and they're
thinking some of the mistakes in the in the game
today in London are inexcusable. However, what is the situation
with how they viewed Aaron Glenn's turned around of that program?
Speaker 15 (01:07:19):
All right?
Speaker 16 (01:07:19):
So when he came in, I'm told by pretty plugged
in team source that look he because he played there,
so he knew about the culture and he he had
some changes internally he asked for he got the Woody
Johnson pledged. Behind the scenes, I'm told to be more
hands off. Let Darren Mugie, who's the new general matter
coming from Denver, do his job and let them work together.
(01:07:42):
You know, two men had not worked together before, so
they had to get to know each other. Look, they
were competitive today, but Garrett Wilson also heard his knee.
Hes gonna have an MRI when he gets back. But
their offense guys to have ten yards negative passing is embarrassing,
that's like prehistoric, just embarrassing. I mean, here's the problem
for that contract. You know there's guaranteed money in year
two for Justin Fields. He saved one game. He's not
(01:08:04):
played well and Brice Hall's not run the ball well,
and he could He's a guy certainly could be traded.
Speaker 15 (01:08:11):
They're not, as I understand it. They have no plan
s extends.
Speaker 16 (01:08:13):
Contract, so they don't really do anything well on offense guys,
and now they're a nightmare. I expected better, not not
so much win wise, Dan, but to be more competitive now.
And the things defensively, they got the first turnover of
the season.
Speaker 15 (01:08:26):
They don't pressure the quarterback. There's the bad football team.
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
Yeah they are. And they're coming back home with the
showtown with the Panthers coming up next day.
Speaker 15 (01:08:35):
Off.
Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
All right, Adam, we appreciate it. We'll talk to you
in week seven. Thanks. Man. He's carry roads.
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
I'm Dan Byer Monci Belanio is giving us the latest
and what's going on. Bengals on the scoreboard again, but
is it enough to pull even closer to the Green
Bay Packers.
Speaker 3 (01:08:49):
She'll give us the details. What's going on, Manzi.
Speaker 8 (01:08:51):
I think that is still to be determined.
Speaker 17 (01:08:53):
Dan.
Speaker 11 (01:08:54):
We'll see how the Bengals fare in the final ten
minutes of the game. But yeah, they were driving, settled
for a field goal. Packers are still up seventeen to
ten on this one. Josh Jacobs now has two rushing
touchdowns for Green Bay and still again ten minutes to go,
so we'll see how this one ends. While the Titans
have extended their lead a little or excuse me, the
Raiders have extended their lead a little bit. More Over,
(01:09:15):
the Titans with the field goal. Right now it is
twenty to three, but coming down to the end of
the game with four minutes to go, even though the
Titans are in the red zone, so we'll see if
they can at least cut the deficit a little bit. Uh.
You mentioned that the Buccaneers lost already wide receiver a
Mega Buka.
Speaker 8 (01:09:31):
Well they say he's debtful, which is never a good
sign because of a Hamsie.
Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
Does yes out correct?
Speaker 11 (01:09:37):
You did say deultfol which is just usually a means
exactly but you know, no Chris Godwin, no Mike Evans.
So Baker Mayfield is doing what he can.
Speaker 13 (01:09:49):
They're down in long here's the snap belt high dropping
to throw Bak.
Speaker 14 (01:09:52):
There's gonna be sid gets out of the shock. He
rushed doward left cos the r he's will is exactly
the right. Freaks Another guy, Mike is way close to
the first down on a great packer Mayfield.
Speaker 3 (01:10:04):
Do they give him a first down?
Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
You got it?
Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
Give him a first down.
Speaker 8 (01:10:07):
Mister ruff I do Buccaneers radio network on? I listen? Hey,
my out on a LAMB was Buccaneers win the Super Bowl?
Because I also liked the I liked Tampa. I liked
them last year.
Speaker 11 (01:10:19):
That led that drive, extending that that led to Baker
Mayfield throwing a forty five yard touchdown pass to Tesz Johnson.
Buccaneers are up against the forty nine Ers twenty seven
to nineteen, but still the whole fourth quarter left in
this one.
Speaker 8 (01:10:33):
We'll see how it ends. By the way, Jeene Deckerhoff,
is that the name. Yes, I love him. Yes, If
for whatever reason one of you to ever.
Speaker 11 (01:10:42):
Talk to him, can you just tell him that I
love him so much and that I play all of
his calls any chance I get, because he is.
Speaker 8 (01:10:50):
My absolute favorite.
Speaker 11 (01:10:51):
What happened earlier today and football started in London and
the Broncos survived thirteen to eleven against the Jets. Colts
improved to five and one after outscoring the Cars thirty
one to twenty seven. Chargers hit a go ahead thirty
three yard field goal with five seconds left to beat
the Dolphins twenty nine to twenty seven. Seahawks over the
Jaguars twenty to twelve. Both of those teams are now
four and two. Rams are also four and two. After
(01:11:13):
outscoring the Ravens seventeen to three, Ravens fault to one
to five but they expect Lamar Jackson and Roquan Roekwan
Smith to return after their bye week. Panthers walked it
off with the three thirty three yard field goal to
defeat and upset the Cowboys thirty to twenty seven.
Speaker 8 (01:11:27):
Patriots over the Saints twenty five to nineteen. New England
four and two.
Speaker 11 (01:11:31):
Steelers now four and one after they defeated the Browns
twenty three to nine.
Speaker 8 (01:11:36):
We have got baseball. Obviously.
Speaker 11 (01:11:38):
The American League Championship Series starts at eight eastern today
Blue Jays and Mariners. But it has been announced that
Blake Snell is going to get the ball for Game
one in the NLCS tomorrow for the Dodgers.
Speaker 8 (01:11:50):
Brewers are still figuring out who is going to get
the ball to start.
Speaker 3 (01:11:53):
Back to you, guys, big, we can all go brew
Crew in that one.
Speaker 8 (01:11:57):
Yes, no, no, no, no, it is Mike cut.
Speaker 3 (01:12:00):
Her, Mike Cutter.
Speaker 15 (01:12:03):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:04):
By the way, Manzi, we.
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Had to clarify the Amecca Buca thing because sometimes Manzi
will misrepresent what I say. She's done like six, She's
done like six seven times? Already, Yes, there it is
hit her up at Manzy Bolano. So this don't worry Shay.
This is a one week thing, is it? Yes, it's
just a one week thing. It's the six seven episode.
Speaker 8 (01:12:28):
You can't see it, but I have my hands down
right now.
Speaker 3 (01:12:30):
It comes down there.
Speaker 8 (01:12:32):
It's terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:12:32):
You should have seen me on June seventh. I was unbearable.
I was unbearable.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
Next week is week seven of the NFL.
Speaker 2 (01:12:39):
I know we're right in the midst of it, seven,
week six and seven here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
That's fine, all right, he's carry Rhoades.
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
I'm dan byer Uh. The Titans did get into the ends?
How the Titans get into the end zone? Did we
see how the Titans get into the end zone? The
two busy war passed. I don't know who it was.
Cam Wore touched on. Is good enough for me? Extra
point was good as the Titans get ten points closer,
but almost running out of time twenty to ten. In
(01:13:09):
that contest in Green Bay, we talked about the Bengals
taking off ten minutes to open the half. Green Bay's
got their own drive going just slowly going down the field,
taking time off and Tucker Kraft getting into the end zone. Yes,
Jordan Love on the touchdown pass crafted like sixty seven
percent of the work he did on that one. The
(01:13:29):
other thirty three percent goes to Jordan Love. But Green
Bay into the end zone back up to a two
score game twenty three to ten with seven thirty three
left to go extra point penning and twenty seven to nineteen.
I think Buccaneers niner is going to be a fun
final quarter to follow. He is Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 9 (01:14:23):
Here's a fake handoff love bootlegging White Dumps it.
Speaker 1 (01:14:26):
Off crap to the ten of the five to the.
Speaker 9 (01:14:30):
Touchdown touchdown rain by Packers touchdown Tucker clap.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
Wayne Larvy again on ninety seven point three of the
game wrn W Packers Radio Network, green Bay getting a
breathing room. Fourteen points right now, I know some hope
it's fifteen, but six point thirty five in counting. Bengals
have it first down and ten as they are in
Green Bay territory, so you may not get your wish.
You're just near green Bay territory there at throwing forty
(01:15:03):
seven yard line twenty to ten Raiders on top of
the Titans. Titans do have the football back two thirty
two left to go on that one, and still plenty
of time in Tampa A Buccaneers and Niners A Mecca
Buka has been ruled out for Tampa Bay because of
that injury. Now Fred Warner already out dislocated an ankle
as the initial word from the forty nine ers on
that injury, but twenty seven to nineteen Tampa leads the
(01:15:26):
forty nine ers with eleven thirty three left to go
in that contest. He is Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer.
It is end Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio. You
just had some uh the family friends. Is that carving
a pumpkin? Yeah, little pump What did they carve the
eyes out to be? You won't even believe what they
carved the eyes out to be, Mary Mack. They carved
the eyes out to be six seven, which is insane.
(01:15:48):
I'm telling you there, I'm this is I'm not even Joe.
Six to seven, Get on board, Get on board?
Speaker 15 (01:15:56):
Can you even explain the meeting?
Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
It's six seven it let's get some fantasy numbers, Manzi.
If you're short on time, keep it to six seven.
Speaker 3 (01:16:08):
Players.
Speaker 11 (01:16:09):
I got you, I got you, and we're gonna We're
gonna figure this one out, all right. Some fantasy misses
for you today. Matthew Stafford the Rams.
Speaker 8 (01:16:18):
The Rams won, but Matthew Stafford was six seven. He
gave you eleven points.
Speaker 11 (01:16:24):
He had one hundred and eighty one yards and a touchdown,
So eleven points in Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
But he still did.
Speaker 11 (01:16:30):
Better than justin fields. Is there something below six seven?
He gave you four points today. He had forty five
yards in the air.
Speaker 8 (01:16:38):
That's it.
Speaker 11 (01:16:39):
Plus seven carries for thirty one yards. But you're like,
that doesn't add up to four points. Yeah, he was
sacked nine times.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Wait does he get an assist on the sacks?
Speaker 8 (01:16:47):
No, on the sacks he gets minuses on that. That's
why he ended with four points. Justin Fields not Buenel.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
You know the ESPN quarterback rating, it's the one that
goes zero to one hundred.
Speaker 8 (01:16:58):
Sure.
Speaker 2 (01:16:59):
Yeah, the normal one that we do goes like one
fifty eight point.
Speaker 3 (01:17:03):
Yes, yeah, Justin Field's ESPN QBR.
Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
Nine nice nice nine, Hunderman, nice nine.
Speaker 11 (01:17:16):
All right for your running backs, maybe you played JK.
Speaker 8 (01:17:20):
Dobbins.
Speaker 11 (01:17:21):
Well, he also just dropped you four points in your
fantasy team. Fourteen carries for forty yards. It does not
sound great. Kenneth Walker, her on my fantasy team, also
just gave me four points, Thank you so much. Tan
carries thirty four yards. He did have one catch for
three yards. Four points for Kenneth Walker. Wide receivers. I'm
both of these guys, thank you so much. Corlan Sutton
(01:17:43):
two points today. One catch seventeen yards. You could have
done that.
Speaker 15 (01:17:47):
I don't Carrie.
Speaker 8 (01:17:48):
You could have one catch. You could have done one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
Catch for seventeen.
Speaker 11 (01:17:53):
You would have hobbled off you had been done, but
you would have caught that. Michael Pittman also back for
the Colts today. He had missed a couple of games.
Four points, two catches on twenty yards. Those were some
of your fantasy misses for today's games.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
The Bengals are driving against the Packers. You could stick
around one twenty four to ten again now in green
Bay territory, and an illegal contact or penalty doesn't matter
because the Bengals got a first down, So four forty
eight left to go. Green Bay is still in the
good shot, up a good spot, up two touchdowns. But
(01:18:31):
the Bengals driving down to about the twenty three yard
line now of green Bay.
Speaker 4 (01:18:35):
Yeah, that's the reason they bought flock go in to, uh,
destroy people's parlays. That's what that's That's what kind of
that kind of boils down to. So, Yeah, he's he's
doing right, He's doing what he's supposed to do. Dan,
He's Uh. I didn't I didn't necessarily understand it. For
the time being, It's worked out for the Cincinnati Bengals
in him, at least this game.
Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I did not buy the he played the Packers, So
the preparation like it was an advance that was weird
to me. That's like just trying to convince me that
this is why I should do it, but it wasn't
a real reason.
Speaker 4 (01:19:08):
They're trying to convince the team as well, because you
bring a guy off the street and you have a
guy that's at least Jake Browning has had some good
moments there and he's competent, so they're trying to convince
them as well.
Speaker 2 (01:19:19):
Yeah, it's just it seems really really odd that of
all the quarterbacks, and again it's like, hey, if Cleveland's
willing to give them to you, exact right when she's
like if there was an enemy giving you candy, I
mean you're like, no, I'm not gonna take it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
Is a candy corn? Or is it? I like candy corn?
Speaker 2 (01:19:36):
I y, yes, Monsei, you're not a fan, no, not
even a little, not like six seven pieces. We're going
to kill this but it's going to be dead. No
kid is gonna want to say this after tomorrow, so
you can thank me. We're going to drill this baby
into the ground, like Uncle's been saying six to seven
(01:19:56):
old day.
Speaker 3 (01:19:56):
I am tired of this lose.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
This old man on my radio talking about six to
seven the whole time.
Speaker 3 (01:20:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:20:06):
Now the Titans getting out of the shadow of their
own goalposts, getting the ball at least out to around
the twenty yard line. Still a ways to go down
ten in that contest, and the Packers now trying to
get a fourth down stop. Fourth and five for Cincinnati,
four seventeen. It's crucial. Cincinnati has two timeouts left. They
had to use one earlier, so time a little bit
(01:20:28):
more of the essence for them, especially here in this situation.
Fourth thout and five from the Green Bay nineteen yard line.
The Buccaneers continue to lead the Niners twenty seven to nineteen.
That contest in the fourth quarter in Tampa, and now
there's a time out on the field. So we're not
going to be able to bring you if Cincinnati converts
on the fourth thound, but we will on the other side.
(01:20:51):
Coming up next, he's Carrier Roads. I'm dan byer. Monci
Belanios is here as well. Mike McDaniel responds to Tua's
comments about leadership or lack their within the Dolphins locker room.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
That's next on Fox.
Speaker 2 (01:21:03):
Ah, we got some drama it's over in Las Vegas,
but Tampa Bay and Green Bay providing us some excitement
here in Week six, Raiders get that win over the Titans.
But green Bay now gonna be facing a third down
maybe seven maybe eight yards in a game where you
just heard they only lead by six. So the Bengals
(01:21:24):
will their defense come up big a third and nine?
Cincinnati has both timeouts two thirty five and counting, as
green Bay has it third to nine from their own
thirty nine yard line and Cincinnati just hanging around, hanging around.
We'll see if Jordan Love is able to make a
play for green Bay, and he does he it's Matthew Golden,
the first round pick.
Speaker 3 (01:21:44):
Now it's not all lost yet.
Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
But huge, huge play for green Bay and not having
the punt it back, Cincinnati can still get to stop
because Golden ran out of bounds, but converting on the
third down play for a big pass play getting down
to about the Cincinnati two nine yard line.
Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Yeah, I think that's the reason a lot of experts,
you know, have high regards for Jordan Love. That throw
right there with a big play thirty nine, rolling out
to avoid pressers, pulled up stops and throw the dime
for a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
So big, big play for the Packers and in a
weird sort of way, carry when we're talking about Jordan
Love and his development and who he is, Yeah, if
he wouldn't have played so well a couple of years
ago and then had that push in the playoffs, so
they go and they went in Dallas and they ended
up losing to the forty nine ers in the divisional playoff,
(01:22:35):
but you thought like that was going to be the
takeoff point for them. Yeah, So in a way, a
little bit of a prisoner of his own success because
the expectations are higher. I'm not trying to give him
any pass, yeah, but he didn't play up to that
caliber of what we felt that he did during that
that playoff run a couple of years ago. And that
throw there too, by the way, the guy that they
(01:22:56):
believe that can turn it around and bring him, you know,
a top target, used the first round pick on him.
A big, big play for Green Bay to try to
hold off Cincinnati. That was a huge play and we
just got another big play in this Tampa Bay game
as well. The forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (01:23:10):
We're going fourth on fourth, fourth and five here, it
was fourth and one. They actually fourth and actually Chius
and I got a false star penalty and went back
to fourth and five and mac Jones was the way
interception here as well.
Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
Okay, and this is my favorite part here, all right,
Jamel Dean with the interception.
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Shouldn't he have just batted it down? Carry Rhoads. Shouldn't
he have batted it down?
Speaker 18 (01:23:33):
Dan?
Speaker 4 (01:23:33):
I'm never telling the dbat to bat anything now, Hey,
you get paid by those interceptions.
Speaker 2 (01:23:38):
Could have saved them some yards right, could have made
the play for the team. There was a flag on
the play, a personal foul against San Francisco. So five
point forty three left to go, twenty seven nineteen. Buccaneers
still lead in Green Bay. The Packers and Bengals down
(01:24:00):
to two nineteen in that contest. So that's where the
time stands of that six point game. But forty nine
Ers have hung around, yeah again, losing Fred Warner like
they did today, playing without Brock Perdy, who should be
back sooner rather than later. But they've played without Ricky Piersall.
He hasn't been healthy for him. Maybe the most shocking
thing is that Christian McCaffrey has been healthy for them,
(01:24:22):
right for a guy that we you know last year
had the injury troubles and early on in his career
it felt like it was something. But Christian McCaffrey has
at least stayed healthy for the forty nine ers through
the stretch run but unable to get it done on
that fourth down play.
Speaker 4 (01:24:34):
Yeah, the forty nine ers have been tough. Like we said,
they've been very opportunistic a team that's right now, I
think batting over their average for what they average should
be with the people they have missing. And so I
mean for them to go into Tampa right now and
to have a chance to have you know, driving the
ball and getting a chance to try to go score
and try to try the game up, it's a win.
(01:24:56):
I mean, the Buccaneers are playing excellent football.
Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
I want to bring up this point before we hear
from Mike McDaniel responding to a tongue of our lowest comments.
So we'll hear two again. We'll reset that for you
so you can get more of a context to what
Mike McDaniel is referring to. But earlier today the Rams
went to Baltimore beat the Ravens seventeen to three. We
had a conversation about some of Aaron Glenn's decision making.
(01:25:19):
John Harbaugh surprised me today into the first half scenario,
which I loved these scenarios, seconds remaining, he decides to
go for it on a third and three, or excuse me,
in a three to three ball game on fourth down
near the goal line, they get stuffed, don't go in,
and they go into the half tied up at three
against the Rams. Yes, in that scenario where your team
(01:25:43):
is just struggling for anything, I would think something like,
if you're in a three to three ball game with
the Rams, you're in it a touchdown, yeah, maybe great,
But to come away with nothing like the Ravens did.
I was surprised at a call by that because we
see teams go a lot more forward on fourth down
(01:26:03):
because field position comes into play. With it being the
end of the half, field position didn't come into that point.
I'm bringing this up to you because I know you
love teams when they actually do take the points to
kick the field goal. Right, here's a veteran coach you.
Some people are wondering if he's passed his prime and
what he's doing in Baltimore. There's a questionable decision today
that maybe they didn't ultimately cost them the game, but
(01:26:23):
I don't think that he put this team in the
best spot with that call.
Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
No, you're putting yourself at a disadvantage. You have a
team that's struggling to score points the last couple of weeks.
I know it's not the sexy thing to do right now.
Everybody's like you said, going for it right and trying
to put up points. You gotta get you got to
get three. There you go up at the half six',
three you're getting the ball back like you want to
(01:26:48):
have a chance to at least double, up AND i
know you want the. Touchdown but the points would have
been at a premium at that. Point and at the
end of the day The rams only scored. Seventeen, yeah
so they would have been in the. Game, still it
was A bada could have grabbed some momentum going into
the locker room with. That the other point of this
is the conversation that you're going to have even Though Lamar,
jackson by all, accounts we'll be back in week, Eight
(01:27:09):
ravens have a bye next, Week bill's And ravens with
the byes in week, seven But Snoop Huntley Tyler huntley came. In,
yeah was ten to fifteen for sixty eight yards and
seemed TO i understand the game situation changes because you're, Down,
yes but we've seen him in that spot before For
baltimore have. Success maybe not on the grand. Scheme just
(01:27:32):
don't know if the decision making to Have cooper rush
me you're back up there When huntley was, available and
then now for them to take so long to make this,
change especially after what happened last, WEEK i think that
brings more questions into what's happening In baltimore on thousand.
PERCENT i mean you can watch when When Snoop puntley
came in a, game just the energy, change Right Cooper,
RUSS i think his time his, time his time as
(01:27:55):
a guy that can come in and win you. Games
he did that In dallas a couple of years. Ago
but that's.
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
Over yeah he Had Ceedee lamb and you know you're
running the football twenty polar to believe that the time was, There, like,
yeah they were good. Offensively The ravens have an Old
Derrick henry right, Now like that's.
Speaker 4 (01:28:08):
IT i, mean, yes they Got Derrick, henry but they
got guys that can still make. PLAYS i, mean if
you think about, it Like Cooper, RUSH i thought when
they signed, them with all the weapons they had come
into the, year it's like it makes sense in, theory,
Right like he.
Speaker 3 (01:28:21):
Can he's a.
Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
Distributor he's not somebody that's gonna give you any of
The Lamar jackson.
Speaker 3 (01:28:26):
Factor but he can get the ball to those.
Speaker 4 (01:28:27):
GUYS i mean you Got Rassa, bateman you, got you Got,
flowers you Got, LIVELY.
Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
I mean, likely you Got. ANDREWS i mean you got
Guys DeAndre.
Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
HOPKINS i mean, yes and like not to not to
to because his career is made. Difficent but, yes you're
higher on What baltimore has for weapons wise than WHAT i. Am,
sure AND i don't think that Like Cooper rush getting
the ball to those, guys, WELL i don't think you
have to do anything different for a defense to worry about.
That at Least Tyler huntley gives you something to worry,
(01:28:57):
about you, know planning through the.
Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
Week AND i agree with your take on.
Speaker 4 (01:29:01):
IT i, MEAN I i, AGREE i, THINK i, MEAN
i Thought huntley should have been in from the, beginning,
Sure BUT i Mean Cooper, RUSS i mean WHEN i
when you say that name where you have you, know
that revisit that business visiting history thing going, on and
you see how he did In dallas in those moments
when he came in to think that he can't do
any of that right, now just a couple of years.
Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
Removed it's kind of kind of hard to. Watch we're
gonna hear from the uh The dolphins. Figures but Green
bay had a third and two just ran a pass
play Where Jordan love threw one up To Josh jacobs
on a bit of an out route and didn't get.
It curious call in that situation when now you're going
to just kick a field. Goal BUT i guess you
(01:29:43):
KNOW i take that. Back i'm not gonna say. CURIOUS
i don't love the play, CALL i don't love the,
design but you get a first down games over, with
now you kick the field. GOAL I i probably would
have put it Into Josh jacob's hand at that point
and just, said, You're Josh, jacobs get us two yards
because of how good he. Is not every team can do.
That but the other issue is there is No brandon
(01:30:04):
McManus For Green bay and they don't need.
Speaker 4 (01:30:08):
Them, yeah all right, Now and the reason they did
it obviously because they run and didn't get. It The
bengals had a time out as, well so they would
stop the clock. Regardless so try to get the first down.
Speaker 2 (01:30:17):
Then, sure, yeah, yeah, yeah just a minute fifty two
isn't gonna Bother Joe. Flatko he's carried out, Time Dan,
byer this is what to a tongue of ILO i
had to say earlier today after The dolphins lost a
heartbreak into The chargers twenty nine to twenty.
Speaker 12 (01:30:29):
SEVEN i think it starts with the leadership in helping
articulate that for the, guys and then what we're expecting
out of the, guys, right we're expecting, This are we getting?
Speaker 1 (01:30:39):
That are we not getting?
Speaker 12 (01:30:40):
That we have guys showing up to only player only meetings,
late guys not showing up to player only Meeting, like
there's a lot that goes into.
Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
That do we have to make this?
Speaker 12 (01:30:49):
Mandatory do we not have to make this? Mandatory so
it's it's a lot of it's a lot of things
of that nature that we got to get cleaned. Up
and it's starts with the little things like.
Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
That this is What mike McDaniel responded with as the
coach of The dolphins after hearing his quarterbacks, comments.
Speaker 10 (01:31:08):
Player led meetings are extra things outside of you know,
WHAT i WHAT i. Demand we've we've been very. Accountable to,
me it sounds like there was something on his mind
with regard to the specific meetings with a couple of
individuals that he was trying to get corrected by being
with direct. Communication, so you, KNOW i think that's that's
(01:31:33):
the only way to.
Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
LEAD i don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
What mike McDaniel addressed it. Completely you JUST i think
tried to say this is what to a. Meant BUT
i think the bigger picture is that the leadership you
don't need players only meetings if the leadership on top is.
Speaker 3 (01:31:52):
GOOD i AM i correct.
Speaker 15 (01:31:54):
On that.
Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
Kind of but we do it anyway to you, know
to regroup and to be on the same. Page so you're,
right but there are times when those things are needed
even if things are going, well because you just need
to check, in AND i think good teams do that a.
Speaker 2 (01:32:10):
Lot so then if you're the players and you're a
bad team like The, dolphins some are showing, up some
apparently not showing up at.
Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
All, now what do you do well when they're not showing?
Up they're probably part of the.
Speaker 4 (01:32:23):
Problem so that kind of identifies, it, Right so it
makes it very crystal clear the guys that would come
late or not show, up because that would be the
only reason you would do. That and the other reason
would be if the leader who's calling that meeting is
stepping us out of his means and he's not really
that leader as, well that would be another reason that
guys wouldn't show. Up so there are intricate parts to,
(01:32:45):
that and we don't know what that, is and we
don't know who held the. Meeting it sounds like Maybe tua,
did but that would fall on two.
Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Again, yeah, Yeah AND i don't want to put words
in your, mouth And i'm not saying that we're Blaming,
tua but essentially what you're saying is there is A
dolphins felt that to, him maybe he wasn't pulling his.
Weight now toa wants to have a team, meeting the players, like, well,
yes the heck with. That you, know the other one
that's not pulling your, weight that would be the. Reason
that's not what we're saying about With tua's. SCENARIO i
(01:33:13):
just think that he put his coach in a really
bad spot When he's already in a really bad, spot
And tua's to his fate is sealed to a certain.
Point is this is Where tua is two is not
going to be anything better than what he is. NOW
i think specifically because of What mike McDaniel was able
to do with.
Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
Him that was the.
Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
Reason he was tasked to go To miami and try
to make it work With. Tua and they. Did it
just didn't go to the heights that they would have.
Hoped but considering What tua, was what they've become today
again they're, down they are end up making a. Comeback
helps when you have all world talent Like devon H
(01:33:56):
chan making, plays but they are without A tyreek. Hill
he made it work up until the. Point And i'll
never forget the plane ride That mike McDaniel was on
when he face timed With, tua because Remember toa's experience
With Brian flores was anything but. Great so now you're
trying to figure out a way to make it safe
and make it good for, him and they were unable
(01:34:16):
to get to the highest points In, miami but he
did make it work to some. POINT i just think
now it's beyond salvagable for pretty much everything, there whether
it be head, coach whether it be, quarterback whether it
be front. OFFICE i think there just needs to be
a cleaning out For miami just to to start anew one.
Speaker 4 (01:34:37):
Definitely has to be a, clean a house cleaning situation happening.
There and you're spot on with When mike McDaniel came.
In we the last time we Saw, tua he was.
Bad people were questioning if he could even play in his.
League And mike McDaniel came, in and obviously that flipped
and they had some success and scored a lot of.
(01:34:57):
Points and you, Know tua looked, like you, know a
guy that can lead a team to a deep playoff.
Run but that part didn't, happen the latter part of.
It and then now the trajectory is on a straight
down heel. Slope now it's. Over people will call it a.
FAILURE i don't look at a. FAILURE i just look
at it as it's.
Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Over it's.
Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
Over evan McPherson is on for a fifty six yard
field goal for The. Bengals why is this important it's
a nine point, Game, well it would have made it
a six point game if he was good and there
were forty seconds left And cincinnati still had a, timeout
so they could have gotten onside, kick but instead the
kick sales, right and Now Jordan love will just have
to take a couple of knees and that should be.
(01:35:38):
It as The packers likely to walk away with a
twenty seven to eighteen. Victory they're going to be happy In.
Wisconsin but they're even more happier because The Milwaukee brewers
are in The National League Championship. Series so it's Where i'm.
From a lot of my, family Big brewer, fans. Friends
Facebook last night was filled with everything no want to?
(01:35:59):
Know what happened to met night In game five of
The National League Divisional?
Speaker 3 (01:36:01):
Series what?
Speaker 2 (01:36:02):
Happened so my wife talks to me On friday and she, says,
hey so and so family, members they have, kids they
want to come over and they want to just go,
swimming you, know with our, son just cousins and, listen
it's gonna be rainy this, week like this is the

(01:36:23):
No so we had family get together last, night have
the game, on BUT i have it muted because there's
conversation going on, right kids are, Screaming so watching the?
Speaker 10 (01:36:34):
Game?
Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
Whatnot kids get? Done they want to Watch nightmare Before? Christmas,
OKAY i am, like what AM i gonna? Do so
we're sitting at the, table the round, table and on my,
Phone i've Got game five going on at the, POINT
i know it may have been super Rude, carrie BUT
i had to see it through for.
Speaker 3 (01:36:54):
Fruition ruers win three.
Speaker 2 (01:36:55):
To, one and and all was, good but maybe bad
job by. Me it was great to have them, over
great they have family, over but THE tv was stolen
by the kids after they were, done SO i Watched
game five on mute of THE.
Speaker 3 (01:37:11):
NLDS i think that's a good job by, You.
Speaker 4 (01:37:13):
Dan you Played grace's host for a little, bit but
you needed your own fix as.
Speaker 3 (01:37:16):
Well that's nothing wrong With we had a.
Speaker 2 (01:37:18):
Good time and ended up, winning and now we got
a GOOD nlcs that starts to.
Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
Run the family needs no one to leave, Anyway so
then got really. Cold how can you kids swim in this?
Stuff what is your?
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
Problem buccaneers had a field. Goal it's now thirty to,
nineteen under two minutes to go in that, contest So
tampa just two minutes. Away from improving to five and,
one While San francisco likely to fall to four and,
two and it's now. Over In Green, Bay packers topped
The bengals by a score of twenty seven to. Eighteen
Carry rhoades will break down his play of the. Week

Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
Roads The All pro breaks down a key play from week,
six and the key play comes courtesy OF koa eight
FIFTY am and ninety four point ONE fm and The
Broncos radio network fourth and eight for The jets In
london on The broncos forty four yard, Line denver's up
thirteen to eleven on The jets with a minute fourteen to.
Speaker 3 (01:39:55):
Go here's what. Happened wilson's not in the.
Speaker 15 (01:39:58):
Game fields in the, pocket sure pulls away From.
Speaker 2 (01:40:01):
Cooper now we'll be shocked back at the forty four
yard Line denver's football with one oh nine. Left so
that was the not, one not, two but ninth Time
Justin fields got sacked In london On sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:40:17):
Carry how did the ninth one go? Down?
Speaker 4 (01:40:19):
Man is this bad? Technique bad? Football no real execution
by The jets. HERE i mean it's fourth and. Eight
you got a chance to either take an attempt at
a long field goal to win the. Game but in this,
case they didn't trust the, kicker so they went forward
to get the first downs or to get, yeah to
get the first down to continue to drive on the.
Game when the, drive but they line up in eleven
personnel two by. Two they motioned in with the receiver
(01:40:41):
into a double snug, look and they dropped back and
take the snap And denver comes in and pressures them
all out blitz seven seven. Guys so you have to
bring that back into play to come out and pick
up the extra. Blitzer, again The jets had no protection all.
Day Justin fields dropping, Back, yeah negative ten yards in this.
Game but, again they went. Forward they tried to bring
(01:41:04):
an over route To Justin field's face to make this,
completion but it just wasn't a good play at all
and they didn't protect it. Well bad technique up front
ends up being a ninth. Sack No Winno denver came
comes out and wins the wins the game on a
crucial fourth down stop here.
Speaker 2 (01:41:20):
If they're bringing, seven, yes how Does Justin fields not
have anybody to go? To is this just talent they
we heard on the Highlight Garrett wilson wasn't in the
game for The. Jets nobody's. Open there's not a quick
dump off to do on a fourth and. Eight what's
the the reason?
Speaker 3 (01:41:39):
Why?
Speaker 4 (01:41:39):
Exactly, so if you come in a fourth down and
you know they're an all pressure looking, what you gotta
have a pressure, release a pressure outlet. Play they did
not have. That they ran their same. Play you can
tell there's no check to. It they just run the
play and hope for the. Best and hoping for the
best in THE nfl isn't gonna get you get you
the results you look. For BUT i mean they actually
(01:42:01):
have enough to pick up the blitz with the with
the bat coming over to pick up the, blitz so
they had their actual right protection. Called but The jets
technique is. Terrible the tackles up the. Field he's not
even a real successful pass. Pro, look he's firing off
and so you have no chance of even slowing that blitz.
(01:42:23):
Down and so to not have an answer or check
down to at least have a chance to get the first,
down it's just.
Speaker 3 (01:42:29):
Bad it's just bad.
Speaker 4 (01:42:29):
Football AND i think people come out and they want
to give to blame The Justin fields not for taking
that ninth sack and not being able to make a.
Play but if you look at that, play nobody's. Open
it's not sound fundamental football by their coaches to put
them in a position to. Win so it's bad football
all around for The.
Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
Jets there.
Speaker 1 (01:42:50):
Fast times With Carrie.
Speaker 2 (01:42:51):
Rhodes he is carry roads final to make carry twenty five.
Roads you can find me At Dan Byron. Fox even
Though Jonathan cooper was able to beat his man off the,
line it just didn't seem like there was even much
success for that play to, work even if he doesn't
get the great jump and get after.
Speaker 4 (01:43:07):
Fields and the crazy part about it is for a
defense to go all out pressure there where they're not
even all line up of the. LINE i mean there's
a guy coming from a little depth. There they don't.
Trust they have no fear of your skill of. People
it's forth to. Night if you if if the guy
that's playing that press that, uh that coverage on your
(01:43:28):
guy one on one with no, help you cass the,
ball you might break that and score a touchdown as.
Well like just they have no respect for the jet
skill of. Players and that's the part that's staggering WHEN
i watched that, clip for, me.
Speaker 2 (01:43:41):
He is the All Pro Kerry. Roads So I'm Dan.
Byer it Is End Zone radio On Fox Sports. Radio
it started Our. Sunday we still have the chiefs and
lines to get. To but what's happened in? Between Monty
blagos here with the latest of what's going on in week?
Speaker 11 (01:43:55):
Six, well, guys right now there are two teams that
are five. One it may be three teams by the
end of week, six but right, now two, teams you.
Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
Know, what one team that's zero and. Six that's very,
true and that's. It that's the standout.
Speaker 11 (01:44:10):
Too oh did you Want, okay we'll start, There, well,
sure right, now why?
Speaker 8 (01:44:13):
Not let's start with the bad and lead up to the,
good Right?
Speaker 11 (01:44:17):
Jets oh and six, Yep AND i don't even know
what the decision making was there right before.
Speaker 8 (01:44:22):
Half very, confused what's?
Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
Worse and six or? Seven?
Speaker 1 (01:44:27):
Six?
Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
Seven, yes there it, is thank you very.
Speaker 8 (01:44:29):
Much braco survived In. London we'll start.
Speaker 11 (01:44:32):
There thirteen to eleven against The jets was the final.
Score it wasn't, pretty But denver gets the. Whim but,
yeah two teams are five and one right, now and
one of those teams is The Tampa Bay, buccaneers who
just defeated the forty Nine ers thirty to. Nineteen Baker
mayfield doing what he, can losing his wide. Receivers he
ended seventeen of twenty three two hundred and fifty six
(01:44:53):
yards and two touchdowns in this. One christian McCaffrey did
get one hundred yards from. Scrimmage he had seventeen carries
for fifty two yard it's in a, touchdown plus seven
catches for fifty seven. Yards San francisco did lose their
all pro Linebacker Fred warner to a dislocated right. Ankle
he's going to talk to some doctors to see exactly
how much time he's going to Miss did you see?
Speaker 8 (01:45:11):
It did you see the? Foot, yeah it was just
a completely different.
Speaker 3 (01:45:15):
Way, YEAH i just want to point.
Speaker 8 (01:45:17):
Out that is also a different.
Speaker 3 (01:45:19):
Way, no And mancia is such A Baker. Mayfield oh
so that she played a? Highlight are you the?
Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
Scramble, yeah like of a first down like we usually
book highlights of. Touchdowns and it was a great. Play
there was a key play in the. Game, yes it
JUST i just. Noticed i'm, like.
Speaker 8 (01:45:39):
Oh, NO i think you're missing my love For Jean.
DECKERHOFF i THINK i think that's what you're. Missing it's
a combination Of Baker.
Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Mayfield by the, way while you're doing, That, mary if
you could just find if we have it in the
System DeAndre. Francois Because Jean deckeroff used to do The
Florida state football games as, Well so you Do Florida
state On, saturday do The bucks game On. NO i
was just doing The bucks game And bucks, games but
their old Quarterback DeAndre. Francois, yeah just what a great
(01:46:07):
name to, say imagine decker HAF i can we still
have it in the system so we can hear.
Speaker 13 (01:46:13):
It.
Speaker 11 (01:46:13):
Stop but that's really what the love is, there you,
know it was just it just happened to also be
A Baker. Mayfield because you're not. WRONG i love him.
Too raiders topped The titans twenty to. Ten packers outscored
The bengals twenty seven to.
Speaker 8 (01:46:24):
Eighteen bengals made an interesting there at the.
Speaker 11 (01:46:27):
End they didn't score anything in the first, half managed
to get eighteen points in the second. Half Jamar chase
with his first touchdown catch and how. Long he had ten,
catches ninety four yards and a. Touchdown Joe flacco for
The bengals had two hundred.
Speaker 8 (01:46:40):
And nineteen yards and two, touchdowns no.
Speaker 11 (01:46:42):
Interceptions Joe flacco did what he could for The, bengals
but The bengals fault to two and. Four packers win another.
One what happened earlier? Today that other team that's five and,
one that's The, colts. Guys they outscored The cardinals thirty
one to. Seventeen Daniel jones had two touchdowns in the.
Air he also had a rushing. Touchdown The chargers defeated
The dolphins on a late field goal twenty nine to twenty.
Seven The seahawks improved to fourgn, too defeating The, jaguars
(01:47:04):
who are also now fourgn to twenty to twelve was
the final score. There, Jackson smith And jigba eight, catches
one hundred and sixty two yards and a. Touchdown The
rams are now four and two after defeating The ravens
seventeen to, three But, baltimore, apparently according to your head
Coach Lamar jackson And Rocan smith should return after their bye,
week which Is week. Seven, panthers they had the upset
(01:47:25):
of the, day beating The cowboys thirty to twenty, seven
walking it off with the field Goal. Patriots they topped
The saints twenty five to, nineteen and The steelers had
a twenty three to nine win over The. Brown steelers
improved to four and, One brown's fall to one in.
Five Dylan gabriel in his game today twenty nine to
fifty to two hundred and twenty two. Yards and we've
got baseball starting very soon here less than an hour
(01:47:49):
The American League Championship Series.
Speaker 8 (01:47:51):
Mariners and who are they? Playing why AM i? Blanking
thank you so? Much because it's The Blue. Jays that's
what it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:57):
Is On Toronto. Hot we're gonna like they're not gonna.
Speaker 11 (01:48:00):
Like, THAT i, Know Fox SPORTS mlb There's they have
a couple of videos going. On Apparently Big Poppy David
ortiz took nighttime medication instead of daytime, medication and so
he's struggling.
Speaker 8 (01:48:14):
Right now to stay.
Speaker 11 (01:48:15):
Awake i've done, that and it is awful whenever you
take nighttime medication and you're trying to power through. It
but you, know he's got his other, fellas but he's
apparently a little drowsy trying to uh.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
Man there haven't some tough times Because jeter missed like
a parent teacher conference because the game went an extra.
Speaker 3 (01:48:32):
Inning, yes, yes sometimes on The fox, set.
Speaker 8 (01:48:38):

Speaker 2 (01:49:00):
Name by the, Way Jean, DECKERHOFF i think looks exactly
like you think you would.
Speaker 3 (01:49:04):
Look, yes, yes.
Speaker 8 (01:49:06):
He, Does, yes totally, totally that's kind of what you.
Speaker 11 (01:49:09):
Imagine, YEAH i had to look him up BECAUSE i
just needed to know WHO i was, like you, KNOW
i was, like who is this?
Speaker 1 (01:49:13):
Man?
Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:49:15):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Yeah, exactly, Absolutely. YES i used to cover a couple
Of Florida state. Games i'd See gene Decker.
Speaker 8 (01:49:23):
Hoff big, fan big fan of that man one.
Speaker 3 (01:49:25):
Time mary mac just, Right Frank faw that is Fall
horn Leg, horn.
Speaker 8 (01:49:31):
Right that is Fall thank you for bringing that into my.
Speaker 12 (01:49:35):
Life.
Speaker 3 (01:49:35):
Fan, no absolutely appreciate.
Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
THAT i do want to bring up one, Point, Manzy
thanks so. Much we'll talk to you in week. SEVEN
i do have to bring up this, point, Actually, manzi
can you can you what Was dak's stat line? Today,
yes this isn't a six to seven, joke trust.
Speaker 8 (01:49:51):
Me, okay HERE i had. It, Dak dak.
Speaker 11 (01:49:56):
Was dak was twenty five of thirty, four two hundred
and sixty one yards and three.
Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
Touchdowns, great great day For.
Speaker 2 (01:50:02):
Dak right, now you can go to the Point i'm
Making with the two hundred and sixty plus, yards he
Passed Troy aikman on the all time list for second
place for the all time passing. Yard it's for The,
cowboys and this year he is probably going to Pass Tony.
ROMO i know it's a DIFFERENT. Nfl, Yes and when
(01:50:23):
we think of The. Cowboys do Think Roger, Staubach we
think Of Troy, aikman but we do think Of Tony
romo as. Well Tony romo made a name for, himself
not up to the Eight men And stabach. Levels but
If dak does this and does it in one hundred
and twenty seven, games now one hundred and twenty eight.
Games it Took Tony romo one hundred and fifty six,
(01:50:46):
games so twenty eight more games, In dak's behind them
by about one thousand thousand, Yards So dak's gonna catch
him in fewer. Games does this change like how you
would View Dak prescott long term when we look at his.
Career i'm not trying to make up a. Fake Is
Dak prescott A hall Of fame? Quarterback? Yeah but we
(01:51:07):
always have These dak. Conversations and now he's on the
verge of being The cowboys all time leader and yards
and have a stat probably in. Touchdowns he only needs
twenty five more to Pass. Romo does that change your
opinion at all on how we look At dak in
the long.
Speaker 3 (01:51:26):
Term, no not for.
Speaker 4 (01:51:27):
Me right, NOW i See dak and it's funny you
said those two. Quarterbacks they're similar to. Me they both
have had really good moments in regular. Seasons they put up,
yards they're exciting when, there when they're. Fun they've had
wins during the regular, season but neither one of them
have won playoff, games and so you, know him Overtaking
(01:51:50):
Tony romo doesn't really move the. NEEDLE i think they're pretty, similar,
right and you talk about their. History as far as
him being graded to something, ELSE i think that comes
with the winning in.
Speaker 3 (01:52:02):
The PLACE i did this and this may be a me.
Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
THING i Think Tony romo has looked at more fondly
Than Dak prescott is.
Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
Right, NOW i Think joe by people in Doubas.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
OR i think in, GENERAL i think That dak's salary
doesn't help him in this. Case and it's all BECAUSE
i Think dak's been, very very. Good and if you
go back to the time When Tony romo was replaced By,
dak and it was so emotional And tony broke down
and he read a statement Because dallas decided to go
With dak instead of handing the job back over To
(01:52:34):
Tony romo When romo wasn't injured. Anymore to think at
that point That Dak prescott would have a better career
Than Tony. Romo maybe not, blasphemy but it definitely wasn't
something that you would think would, happen and it, did
And Dak scott many more years to. Go and because
of the success of The, cowboys or maybe lack, thereof
(01:52:56):
or the failures that they've, had we look. DIFFERENTLY i
JUST i just think That dak is under such an extreme.
Microscope And i'm not saying that all of his moments
have been, great but you can't argue the. Numbers you
can't argue what he is at least done for the
team this year when they seem to be. Shorthanded AND
i just kind of want to give the guy, props
even after a loss, today BECAUSE i WHEN i saw
(01:53:19):
the stat pop up that he Passed Troy aikman for
second all, time it was just it.
Speaker 4 (01:53:26):
Was, like, huh Good, Anya. Dak, Yeah, no it's definitely a.
KUDOS i think this year has been his best year
to me. LEADERSHIP i, mean making every, throw you, know
doing all the things in like winning, moments even when
they've been down in, games you can trust that he
was going to get it.
Speaker 3 (01:53:44):
Done but WHEN i look at the, OVERALL.
Speaker 4 (01:53:48):
I guess the art of his story is very similar
To Tony Tony, romo both the. Overachievers Tony romo wasn't
somebody that when he got To dallas you thought he
was going to be that guy, Either so their story
was a similar and you throw it the Ty akman
thing in it's just not fair Because toy they ran
the ball ninety two times a.
Speaker 3 (01:54:05):
Game, sure it's just, Different.
Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
Yes, yes and it. Is it is a different game
than it. Was the quarterback numbers, now especially now with this.
Generation BUT i will say that at Least dak has
stuck around and been successful enough to continue to play
in this generation because there are quarterbacks that weren't good
enough in despite all of the advantages that passing quarterbacks
(01:54:29):
now can.
Speaker 4 (01:54:29):
Have and is the fourth round. Guy it's the guy
that we're just you, know he was coming in to
be a. Backup we never thought that he was going
to be the guy to Replace Tony romo at that.
Speaker 3 (01:54:37):
Point. Either he's carry.
Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
