They got two guys that they really believe in on
the offensive side of the ball that's opening up other things.
And defensively, they've been kind of I don't want to
say stout all year, but they've been in the mix

think the Giants had enough. I thought that the momentum
of their winning against the Eagles a week ago Thursday night,
maybe we would buy in a little bit too much
to that, but so far the Giants. Giants haven't been
perfect by any means. Denver just hasn't really been able
to do anything offensively, and when they had a defensive breakdown,
Giants were able to take take advantage of that.

That's kind of been the trend for Denver right. They've
started out slow the last couple of weeks. Offensively. They
found something in the fourth quarter against the Eagles to
come back and put some points on the board and win.

But yeah, it's kind of been their trend.

They got to get some stuff going early, and I
think for them, I think they're going to go as
far as JK.

I know they want to give and put a lot
on on bo Nicks, and you know that's on Peyton's
that's Peyton's boy. He wants to get him going and
get him, you know, in the flow early. But I
think that team, with the way their defense is, if
they changed their game plan up a little bit and
run the ball more early, I think it'll suit them better.

Yeah, and they did not do that today. It forced
a quick punts and then Giants were able to at
least take some of that momentum crowd wasn't able to
get into the contest, and now the Giants are able
to get into the end zone. Cam skataboo. There you go,

play and the Giants are an extra point away from
going up fourteen to nothing on Denver. How about that? Maybe,

maybe maybe just as shocking. The Colts are knocking on
the door and are going to start to run away
from the Chargers unless the Chargers keep the Colts out
of the end zone. Thirteen to three ball game. So far,
the Colts have two hundred and nine yards of total offense.
The Chargers have just forty four. It's been all Indy
so far in Los Angeles.

to detail and his study habits and all the things

and you get a gritty veteran, the guy that's been
around around the league a lot and a lot of
situation since they come in and stabilize the offense and

make it run smoothly. Now he's not Colin Murray, but
the team is running little bit smoother.

I do want to ask you this because Green Bay
had playing trouble last night. They were stuck in green
Bay untill about I think around seven o'clock local time
in green Bay flew to Arizona for the game today,
getting in late last night for an afternoon football game
the next day. Would there be any any drawback or
ill effects from that if you're the Packers today.

Yeah, NFL, and I think pro athletes, maybe even any athlete,
we're all creatures of habit, right, So we have a schedule,
we know what we're gonna do usually, and so we
usually stick to that schedule and we perform based off
of that, and so we get in a situation when
it's not right. Sometimes it can throw certain people off.
And so I haven't seen the whole game, but yeah,
I can definitely have. There's also something with Josh Jacobs

who was playing today. He had a leg injury. Was
truly a game time decision worked out in warm ups.
They decided, yeah, Josh Jacobs, you're going to go. But
I would believe far from one percent. But he is
trying to give it a go. As green Bay now
is in Arizona's red zone. Romeo Dobbs with a catch
with the big helmet at all, but the at least
the Packers are on the move early in the second quarter,

green Bay has looked, So I think people are just
trying to be overreactive. They're trying to be silly because
there's been very few positive reviews from all the Chargers

looking their digs by the way they look better than
the command and the Cowboys do today. The Commanders set
up I've never been a fan of. And why the
Cowboys wear these whites, I have no idea. And I'm
talking about the full whites, not the ones with the
silver pants of the silver helmet. They're wearing the full
white helmets, jerseys, pants, in the whole deal. I think
the Chargers look better than both teams. So I just
look great to me. You've seen nothing but negative reviews

I haven't heard anybody outside of me saying, you know what,
I really like those like I think that they look good.
It's been just a negative, negative review of what the Chargers.
And then when you see them in action, maybe they're
play right now hasn't allowed them to look great. But
I think that they look fine on your TV screen.

Yeah, it looks fine to me. And they're not done yet.
They're driving right now. They're going to get back in
this game. But will they be able to stop and
slow down the Colts Hall Fins.

The Milwaukee Brewers. A week ago at this time, I

Little did I think that it would be over at

you not. Brewers fans had about fifteen minutes of joy

throughout the entire series, about fifteen minutes. It was Jackson
Chorio's lead off home running Game two, and then they
really thought that they escaped one with the eight six
y two double play in the fourth inning of Game one.
Other than that, there wasn't a lot to cheer for
for Brewers fans through the NLCS. But a week ago,
at this time, we were previewing and what could be,
and I was expecting a great week. We got a

great week. It was just all from the Dodgers and
a magnificent ending for Sho Heeo Tani in that Game four.

Funny how quickly that changes, right The Cinderella, not even Cinderella,
I mean Milwaukee had been playing well all year and
then to come into the situation where you're just playing
a team that just has more more than you. I mean, really,
I mean Milwaukee for the most part this year, they've
had a timely hits and went on a hot streak
and play really well for an extensive period of time,

But when you run into a team that just has
more dogs as hard and.

I'll say this that as well as Milwaukee played at times,
especially during the second half of the year, that was
never going to sustain They were never going to be
able to sustain that. It's not an excuse at all,
but you just wish you would have had a more
competitive series, especially with the team with the best record
in baseball being Milwaukee and them basically no showing at

Let's say you what we came into the game saying,
you know, there's a lot of conversation around Philadelphia about
the passing game and Jalen Hurts, and you know, after
every week it feels like everybody wants to, you know,
break down, you know how aj Brown's doing and feeling.
And I'll tell you that that was as good of
a performance. That's as good as we've seen that Philadelphia
passing game. I mean probably at least you know, last

Super Bowl for sure, And you know, that's as good
as that Philadelphia offense has played in a long time.
And it came at the right time.

Greg, I want to piggyback off that a little bit.

And so obviously their top two talk is Devonte Smith
and AJ Brown had great games today, But why doesn't
it look like that weekend and week out? I mean,
both of those guys are so dynamic, and Jalen plays
well in big games, but not throughout every game week
the week.

What's been the disconnect there?

Speaker 6 (15:37):
Well, cimillion dollar question, right, I think I think every
I think every team in the league says, you know,
we do it every once in a while, how come
we can't do it all the time? And I think
that's just the nature of the NFL. It's obviously very difficult,
and you know, these defenses are good and they make
adjustments and it's a constant, you know, back and forth.
But yeah, from a personnel standpoint, everything in regards to

the Philadelphia Eagles suggests that that passing game should be
very good. Right from a weapons standpoint, From an offense,
you know, they got two of the best tackles in
the league. I know they've had some injuries on the
interior of the offensive line that have shaken things up,
but from a personnel standpoint and over the years, there's
really no reason that passing game should not be consistently good,

and certainly today was a great step in the right direction.

Greg Olson joins us here on Fox Sports Radio, The
Analyst four that Eagles win over Minnesota twenty eighth to
twenty two. We saw something today that we had never
seen before. Someone trying to stop the tush bush or
the brotherly shove with a defensive lineman lying on the ground.
Did you get any heads up from Minnesota that this
is how they were going to try to defend that
play today.

Well, when we had a chance to talk to Brian Flores,
the defensive coordinator Philly, he kind of suggested that they
had something up their sleeve. He didn't tell us exactly
what it was going to be, but you know us,
they used Baddie the defensive lineman. He was not really
on the ground. He was kind of like in an
all four, kind of like prone position sort of, and
then he was being held by some of the other

defensive linemen, and it was certainly an interesting look. I
think if you look back on the Super Bowl last year,
Chris Jones might have lined up, maybe not exactly the same,
but in more of like a sideways horizontal alignment parallel
to the line of scrimmage. Teams are spending a lot
of time figuring out how do they defend that play.
I think that was the I think we saw it twice.

I think we saw it once and then they lined
up for it a second time and somebody in Philadelphia
I think jumped off sides. But yeah, I mean it's
obviously a big part of what they do. They have
a free yard in their back pocket on every possession,
and certainly they use it to their advantage.

Greg I want to switch it to the Vikings. And
so they're three and three out to this loss, and
I really don't know what this team is or who
this team is at this point, and obviously their plan
without their main guy right now in JJ McCarthy.

Will he be back next week? I mean, Carson Wentz
has been up and down.

He plays well at certain times, and as you know,
they got into the hurry up, two minute type of
mode offen to try to get back in his game.

He made a lot of throws in the second half.

But what do you I guess it's a two part
question of Carson Wentz and Jason McCarty. I think the
move is going back to jaj McCarty here or what
do you what do you feel?

Yeah, I don't think they're even considering that in the
conversation until they determined that he's completely healthy enough to
not only play, but to be able to put in
full weeks of practice in preparation. Kevin O'Connell was pretty
clear to us in our palls this week that that's
a huge part of the equation. So a lot of
it's going to be tied to the health and the
progress made by JJ McCarty coming off that nine ankle sprain. Yeah,

I think at times today Parson Wentz made some really
good throws. I think his ability to push the ball downfield.
He had a lot of guys at his feet, a
lot of pressure in his face all day. I think
he was only sacked twice, but it's felt like he
was under under pressure a good deal, you know it,
Really the game really came down to just some of
the decision making down in the red zone, you know,
just stacks, you know, dropped penalties. Uh they were there

(19:00):
were one for five in the red zone, and that
was really the difference in the game. And you know,
you settle for a bunch of field goals in this league,
especially when when Philadelphia's offense was playing as well as
they were in the passing game. It's just it's going
to be really difficult to win selling for field goals
time in and time out. So that's something that they're
going to have to figure out. That's something that they've

got to clean up. But their ability to move the
ball was never really the issue was, you know, the
critical mistakes down near inside the red zone.

Greg, I know your time is tight, but I have
to ask you, guys match up at all during your
playing careers. I know it's a little I know Krie
came out a little bit earlier than you did, Greg,
But what's it like facing Greg Olsen and what was
it like facing carry Roads From your guys perspective, greg
Olsen is a nightmare.

Obviously, He's a guy that can be elusive.

You can make plays in the past game, you can
block as well, but vertical, vertically downfield.

going to do it against an Eagles team. That Again,
I don't want to say that everything is fixed in
Philadelphia because Minnesota was still able to move the ball

and Philadelphia right now having a difficult time running in football.
Sahn Barkley only had forty four yards today on eighteen carries,
So that's something that they still have yet to figure
out seven weeks into the season. But if you are
the Eagles, you are five and two, a road game
in the NFC against a formidable opponent, and to have
aj Brown and DeVante Smith step up and in Jalen

Hurt step up in those scenarios, I would say that
today is a win sort of game for Philadelphia. Yeah.

there's just so many baffling situations in the NFL and
I don't know who a lot of these teams are yet.

this point with Quest and Steve Newman is always a positive.
