Speaker 1 (00:01):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Ten points.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Ten points, that's all we've got combined from these three
late games in week thirteen. Gary Rhodes, we've got ten
freaking points. The Seahawks are of three to nothing on
the Vikings, Sam Darnolds, Ben Ratz so much he just
actually turned it over in Seattle territory. So the Vikings

(00:26):
are gonna have a good field position. Justin Herbert out
of the game for the Chargers, He's basically wearing a
Hamburger Helper mitton on his left hand now as he
had to go into the locker room because of a
hand injury suffered on a run earlier of this game.
And Aaron Rodgers is playing with a couple of fractures
in his left wrist, and the Bills and Steelers are scoreless.
As you heard MONSI say, ten points is all we've

(00:50):
got right now in this late window, with every game
right now in the second quarter, Man, all these.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Games means so much.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Both both teams on each side are are.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Competing really hard.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Obviously Minnesota has nothing to play for the Raiders, but
it's the division game in that Vegas and Charges game, and
with Minnesota in Seattle, you're you're welcoming to old friends,
so you don't want to lose that game as well.
So these games mean a lot, even though records may
not say that. And you know, the teams that need
to win need to string some strings, some stops, and
get some scores together here in this late window.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Let's start in Seattle because there is under five minutes
to go until halftime. It's just a three to nothing game.
Vikings come in Max Brozmer making his first start of
his NFL career, and it's a three nothing game so far.
So if you're the Vikings, what are you doing with
the rookie quarterback who's making his first career start?

Speaker 4 (01:39):
Well right now, I mean you're in position you want
to score touchdowns, obviously that's that's the goal, but you're
in the defensive struggle right now. Like you said, four
minutes left in the second quarter, I think a lot
of people would thought that Seattle would have taken care
of business early here. But like I said, these two
teams have something to prove against each other, playing a
former quarterback, and so it's.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Gonna be tough. Points are gonna be tough to come by.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
We know that, we know Seattle defense is great, so
you get a turnover deep down here, you want to
get seven.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I'm looking at the Vikings facing a third and six
from the nine yard line and Brozmer gets it to
Jordan Addison, but it's going to be just short of
the line of the first down mark fourth and one here,
I think you have to go for it and just
hand it off to Aaron Jones if you can in
that scenario, and see what the veteran running back can do.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
But Minnesota right now, you need if you can.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
They've been hassling Sam Donald all game. Who knows Sam
Donald better than the Minnesota Vikings and Kevin O'Connell after
having him last year. Brian Flores even made the comment
in the press this week that he was going to
see a lot of blitzeing, he was going to see
a lot of pressure, and so far, so good at
least on the Minnesota and then keeping the Seahawks offense
in check. But Minnesota is going forward here on a

(02:49):
fourth down and one, and it's actually a boot fake two.
Aaron Jones and DeMarcus Lawrence was not fooled, and he
just threw an interception into the arms of Ernest Jones
and Jones is honest way to take it to the house.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Now, that is a rookie mistake.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
You said a ten points, Dad, we got sixteen. Now
that's seen window.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Now that is and Carrie, I tell you honest, I'm
saying this my whole point. My next follow up, depending
on what the Vikings were going to do, was going
to depend on if you're the Vikings and you are
just having Max Brosemurt do nothing. Isn't that what you

(03:30):
should do with JJ McCarthy when he's fully healthy, like
he's not playing this game because he's in concussion protocol.
But isn't that The ultimate goal then, is to have
a Max Brozmert game plan for JJ McCarthy, who's likely
to execute it better than this rookie quarterback.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
One hundred percent.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
And we've talked about it before, like these teams and
we'll get into this later. We talked about teams not
being great this year. They're not playing complimentary football. The
Vikings defense won the best defense in the league last year,
and I think there's been a little bit of slip slip.
It's because of the offense, and I think they go
hand in hand. But if you go into a game
plan and be a little bit more cautious with the
guy that hasn't proved that he's going to be really

(04:09):
good in this league yet let him kind of earn
his way to get more and more responsibilities as the
season goes on. But right now as well as the
perfect game plan until the turnover and the pick six.
So now you're down ten nothing, and now we've got
to see if both mc can throw the ball.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
So that's what we are now.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
It was funny last week, and that's not funny that
concussions aren't funny at all. But I thought that the
wording of how we found out JJ McCarthy was in
concussion protocol was and I tweeted this Kevin McCarthy and
the Viking said that McCarthy started to experience symptoms on
the flight Home's right, and that flight is forty minutes.

(04:47):
Erry like it's a forty and so like I, maybe
it was, maybe it was just getting into the higher
eraor who knows what the what the case was, but
it was in that forty minute flight that you would
have from Green Bay, just across the state of Wisconsin
to back to Minneapolis that JJ McCarthy wasn't feeling well
and now the turn to Max Brosemur, and I think

(05:09):
many few people felt that it was a convenient excuse
for Minnesota. But in seeing the game plan today, I
just think that you would you would have rather had
JJ McCarthy out there if that was your type of
game plan, because that's the type of game plan you
want to execute with JJ McCarthy, and we just were
evidence when you try to do more than what you're
supposed to do, it could be trouble and it turned

(05:30):
into a pick six for Seattle.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
It's been a continued thing throughout the league this year.
I think when quarterbacks play within themselves and play in
the game plan and you know they're on schedule with
things they have, they have more success. There's only a
few guys in this league that can, you know, really
continuously do it, you know, off platform with things that
aren't going well. I mean in the top of that

(05:52):
list is Patrick Mahomes, right, but we have guys like
Bo Brosemer that's trying to come out and be efficient
and take care of the ball. To one, it's it's
a tough position because if you get sacked, it's it's over.
I just don't want to You don't want to throw
a pick six. That's devastating. No, unfortunately, I hate to
say that, you throw it out of the end zone.
But speaking of interceptions, the Raiders just picked off Justin

(06:14):
Herbert in the end zone. So the Chargers squander a
scoring opportunity. Up seven to nothing, they had a third
in goal and now the Raiders are able to grab
the football and I think it's going to be a touchback,
but we'll see where the Raiders get the football. But
Justin Herbert late on a throw to uh Quinton Johnston

(06:35):
looking for Lad McCaffrey.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Excuse me, that's terrible. But the Raiders actually the go ahead.
I think they're gonna beut a Bonds at the two yard.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Line out just saying it was terrible, but terrible, but
the and I forgot what I was going to say,
but there was but the Brozemouth situation, like on that
fourth and one you said it before, just handed off
to Aaron.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Jones, right, get the first down.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Kevin O'Connell is a guy that likes to out smart defenses, right,
And so you got to give the credit to Seattle
as well for being well schooled on that play. They
know that obviously that they run that half back to
the flat real fast. A lot of times throughout the season,
it's been really it's been open. It's been a positive
play for teams. Seattle was well schooled and well versed
and ready for that play and also was in a

(07:16):
situation where they weren't going to get picked because they
were in his own.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
And if you're Max Brozmer in that scenario fourth and one,
I know it doesn't give you a touchdown, but if
you throw it out of the end zone, the Seahawks
are then backed up at their own five yard line,
it's a three to nothing game. They haven't done anything.
You're just forced to turn over. Previously, even rolling out
and taking the sack was a bad play for Minnesota

(07:42):
because the reason you go for it in that situation
is to keep them pinned deep in their own territory,
and that would have given Seattle some breathing room. So
a throwaway would have been better than just taking a
sack in that situation and ultimately throwing it to the
other team and having them run eighty five yards for
a touchdown was the worst scenario, but that's what Ernest
Jones for the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
They're now up ten to nothing.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
We told you the Chargers through an interception, so the
Raiders will take over at their own two yard line.
Seven to nothing Chargers lead. And then what was supposed
to be the game of the day, we had a
great Thanksgiving slate carry and a great game between the
Bears and Egos. Well, if you're a Bears fan, definitely
on Black Friday. But the slate of games today highlighted

(08:22):
by Bill Steelers. Josh Allen doesn't have left tackles, who
doesn't have his left tackle or right tackle.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
And Aaron Rodgers only has one arm really.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
To throw with, and as his left arm is dealing
with the two fractures and his wrist, so scoreless right
now as they play in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
And that game is so substantial for so many different reasons.
But obviously Buffalo is two games back of New England
in their division, so they can't afford to lose any
more games in Pittsburgh. They can't lose any games either.
I mean, they're in a dogfight with right now. They
jump back in first place. If they can win, they
can kind of get some type of a little bit

(08:58):
of cushion against Baltimore. This game is a muscle lamp
of both and like I said, it's zero zero right now.
Both of these quarterbacks are aren't able to really cement
themselves in this game so far.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
The Bills, by the way, in that wild card race, yeah, well,
I don't think teams in the AFC are looking at
the wild card race and saying we have to win
our division. I think some teams would be like, okay,
let's just get into the tournament. And we've talked about
how we view these division leaders so far, and I
think a lot of people recognize the Colts, who we

(09:31):
don't even know now if they're going to win the
AFC South and maybe Jacksonville actually maybe Houston in that scenario.
For as great as Denver as defensively, and you know,
I like Denver, I don't think that they will strike
fear into any other team. And for as good as
New England has been, I still think people feel that
they're young and maybe ahead of schedule. So going to
Foxborough to face them is different than it would say

(09:53):
going to Foxborough and facing Tom Brady back in the day.
So to get into the playoffs and be able to
face those teams on the road isn't a daunting task.
But for Buffalo, like you're still protecting your playoff position,
which isn't necessarily a guarantee. You've got a game against
the Bengals next week, then you have a game against
New England, and then you've got a match up against

(10:15):
the Eagles later on in the season. So like, these
are games that you're playing that are going to mean
a lot for the Bills in just trying to make
the playoffs. And it's not a foregone conclusion that Buffalo
is in. So while they may try to keep pace
with New England, they got to make sure that they
have some breathing room between the rest of the wild
card threats.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
One thousand percent. Yeah, no, Buffalo isn't isn't solid yet
at all. I mean, this team, we've talked about it.
They've been inconsistent just like all the other teams and
seem to lose their identity and games. And so for them,
they got to win every game here on out. I mean,
obviously that's not I guess, you know, if you really
think about they don't have to. But in my opinion,
they can have any slip ups I mean those other

(10:54):
teams that are right behind them, the Chiefs, the Ravens
and whoever, all those other teams are, they're they're they're knocking.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
At the door.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
I mean, obviously, I think that AFC North things only
going to be one team to make it there, and
I think it's going to be the team that wins
that division. So but still those teams are right there
knocking at the door.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Texans are now six and five in the in the
thick of things, and the yeah, you mentioned Ravens, Yeah,
I do. I dare say the Dolphins. There's still a chance.
There's still a chance, there's still there's there's a chance. Yeah,
the Dolphins still mathematically alive five and seven. Uh, but

(11:32):
still a lot of work would need to be done.
But they do have a win over Buffalo also as well.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
And then you talked about it, you talked about those Texans.
I I on on Friday show I Hope hosted the
couple of Rod Parker, and I told Adam Kaplan, I said,
Houston's gonna win that division. So just so you know,
I was on. I went on the record and said
that on Friday, can we do we have audio of this?
I hope we do, yes, because I mean, Alex was here,
but I said it. I said, I can see, I
can see a world where they can win. And I

(11:56):
said they're going to come back. And when the day,
I fully believe you and I know this for two reasons.
Number one, Carrier Roads doesn't lie, and number two, if
he has a correct prediction, he's gonna tell you about it.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
He is gonna tell you about it. He's loved the
Rams from the get go, and the Rams it wasn't
their day today, but still still a threat in the NFC.
So much to get to. All right, here's where we stand.
These Steelers may have forced another Buffalo turnover. This would
have them at the Buffalo thirty eight yard line, still
scoreless between the Bills and Steelers with ten thirty to

(12:26):
go until that half. The Seahawks just sacked Max Brozmer
at the Vikings about twenty five yard line, so Minnesota
is gonna have to punt the football back to Seattle again.
They were fourth and one, down three to nothing, trying
to score and get in the end zone. Now they're
gonna punt it away down ten nothing and the Seahawks

(12:47):
can look the maybe add some points at the end
of the half here and the Chargers have just gotten
the turnover of Geno Smith. They were able to get
the turnover back after Justin Herbert was picked off in
the end zone, so they just turned and over Geno Smith.
So the Chargers we'll have it first and seven at
the Raiders twenty seven yard line. Be sure to check

happy today? Oh, there is good reason his Jets were

(13:31):
a winner. We'll talk about that game next here on

Vikings at Seahawks fourth.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
Down and one at the Seattle four handoff playfake bros
No being chased, Goro, It's gonna go down and get
DROs Get that accepted. Going back to your five, go
five fifty down the forty big chase, twenty tenutes. Jones,
who is seven pass here and that one goes to

(14:46):
the house. From back here to ten yard line, Ernest Jones,
Joes with.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
A pick six.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
Brosber just tries to fling it and there is Jones
right there.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Boy, This rookie is getting all lesson right now. Back
to Dan Byer and Carrie Rhoads.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
It's the only touchdown in Seattle. Seahawks kicked the field
goal at the end of the half. They're up on
the Vikings thirteen to nothing Seahawks Radio Network with the
highlight there he is Carrie Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer. Find
Kerrie on Exay Carrie twenty five Roads. You can find
me at dan Byer on Fox. We told Jay Carry
has a smile on his face. It's because the Jets
won today. Let's focus on that.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Now it's time for the NFL on Fox Focus.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Joining us as he had the call of the Jets
twenty seven to twenty four victory over the Falcons today
on Fox. Kenny Albert is with us here on Fox
Sports Radio. Kenny, First of all, belated, Happy Thanksgiving. We
love having you on. And how in the world did
the Jets win this contest today against the Atlanta Falcons.
I saw how they did it on Nick Folks kick,

(15:54):
but I also saw the penalties. I saw the Falcons
out gain them. How did the Jets get this done
today inst Atlanta?

Speaker 7 (16:01):
Well, first of all, great to do with you guys,
Happy Thanksgiving. Got to spend my alfternoon with Kerry's good
buddy doctor partner on the NFL on Fox. It was
sort of a tail of two halves. The first half
seven to seven, a lot of punts eight punts in
the first half, but then in the second half exciting entertaining,

(16:23):
a lot of touchdowns, a bunch of field goals and
miss field goals. But you know, as far as the
Jets go, some excellent stands by their defense on they
had a couple of sacks and they got the job done.
They were down by seven one hundred two minutes left
and Tarrod Taylor had a couple of nice runs wound
up scoring the game time touchdown. But the Jets defense,

(16:46):
after they had trouble stopping the Falcons for about a
quarter and a half, we're able to force two three
and outs in the final three or four minutes. They
got the ball back and Folk lines up kicked in
the game winning fifty six yard field goal.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
Kenny, I got to questions for you at number one,
how do you deal with Jonathan Villema all the time?

Speaker 2 (17:04):
And number two, I mean, obviously.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
We know about the big trades, you know, getting you
know that the Jets made. They've played well since since
the trades. In my opinion, I think they've they've started
to really, you know, lend towards their strengths and I
think now you add these two receivers to the mix
for Tyrod to come out and play well and be
able to move the ball a little bit more throwing
Mason Taylor as well defense making time these stops. They

(17:29):
seem to be playing a little bit better since post trade.
Is that accurate they are?

Speaker 7 (17:32):
And you know, first of all, as far as working
with films that were six year together. The first year
we were separated in the booth. You know, during social
distancing COVID time, we had flexi lass between us. But well, man, no,
he's been a terrific partner. I know, you guys are
closed and dinner a couple of weeks ago on the
West Coast. As far as the Jets go, you're right.

(17:53):
They've won three of their last five games. You know,
they get off to that zero and seven start, and
they could have won some of those games. We did
the game in Tampa, they had a lead in the
last two minutes. There are a couple of other close ones.
And you know, Aaron Glenn's in it for the long haul.
He came from Detroit where they won three games the
first year with Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn as the coordinator.
They went from three wins to nine to twelve to fifteen,

(18:15):
so he knows it's a long process, and unfortunately they
got off to that zero to seventh start. But now
they've put some nice wins together, you know, beating a
Falcons team today that certainly was still in the hunt
heading into this game. There were two games out of
first place in the division. It was a tough day
for them today with Tampa Bay and Carolina both winning

(18:36):
and the Falcons losing. But they did trade, you know,
Sauce Gardner and Quentin Williams, like you referenced, and the
receiver they got, Mitchell from Indianapolis, had a huge day today.
He was involved in the Sauce Gardner deal. They got
Ada Ni Mitchell along with two first round picks, and
Mitchell had a career day and scored his first career touchdown.

(18:57):
They have a lot of draft capital, first and second
round picks over the next two years, so hopefully they
can continue the process and you know, turn things around
over these next several seasons.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Kenny Albert joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. He's
Carrie Roads, I'm dan Byer. Kenny on the call of
the Jets win over the Falcons today twenty seven to
twenty four on Fox Kenny. You know New York as
well as anyone on the media side of things as well.
How has the New York media been with Aaron Glenn?
Carry and I have had discussions, and Carrie says, Glenn
says this as a message to the media. Glenn is

(19:29):
saying this as a message to his fans. Deciphering these
messages because it was a rough start. How has he
settled in? How has he been accepted by by the
New York media and fan base now that the kind
of turned.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
Out, it sounds like it's gotten better. There were some
you know, some rocky road you know between Glenn and
the media during the first seven or eight weeks now,
and a lot of these reporters who cover the Jets
were there when Aaron Glenn was a player, Yeah, and
he was always a go to guy in the locker room.
You know, it's a little different as a as a
head coach, But it seems like that has move out
a little bit over the last few weeks. He's been

(20:02):
great in our conversations with him. I know Vilma and
Aaron Glenn have a lot of respect for each other.
Glenn spent some time in New Orleans as an assistant
with the Saints, and it certainly seems like it's gitting
in the right direction.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
You know.

Speaker 7 (20:17):
It's a you know, when you get off to an
zero to seven salt like that, everybody's frustrated. But winning
three of the last five certainly seems like things are
settled down in that department.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Kenny, he's about going in the right direction. The Jets
seem to be. Let's go to the flip side of that.
In the Falcons, I think this is one of the
most disappointing teams in my opinion this year, with the
weapons they had and the expectations they had come into
the season.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
So where do they go from here?

Speaker 4 (20:44):
Obviously they got the talent, but is there a coaching
chains on the horizon? Is there some things they need
to shake up in their game plan? And what have
you learned about the Falcons this past week?

Speaker 7 (20:54):
Well, they got off to that for three and two start.
We had their opening game in Tampa, which really could
have gone either way, and it's gone downhill since then.
They've now lost six of their last seven. I really
like Raheem Morris. We dealt with them a lot during
his time, as you know, first a head coach in
Tampa and then an assistant so highly respected around the league,
won a Super Bowl with both Tampa and the Rams

(21:16):
as an assistant coach. Now back in Atlanta as the
head coach, where he spent time on both sides of
the ball, coaching on the offensive side and on the
defensive side. Jeff Ulbrick defensive coordinator, who of course was
the interim head coach of the Jets last year, and
he's so highly respected. But they start Michael Pennix at
the start of the season. You know, he winds up

(21:37):
getting hurt, suffering the ACL injury. So now it's Kirk Cousins,
who I've always been a big fan of. Vjon Robinson
had a huge day today, but they were without Drake London,
their top receiver. Kyle kitt stepped up today had one
of his best games of the season, but unfortunately for
the Falcons, they couldn't pull it out. They dropped to
four and eight. They have some really exciting DOUG players

(21:59):
on the defensive as well, but this was one that
I think, you know, they were probably looking at as
a w heading into the game, just because of the
lack of success the Jets have had, and they have
Seattle next week which will be another tough game. So
thanks having gone great for the Falcons as of late,
they have a five game losing streak. Beat the Saints
last week. But I've always been a big fan of

(22:20):
Raheem and like I said Jeff Ulbrick, Zach Robbinson, the
coordinators are very highly respected. So we'll see how they
finish out this season, but right now it's not looking
too good as far as the playoff position.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Well, it was a fun one today in what looked
like a damp at Meadow Lens. Is the Jets get
a victory over the Falcons. Kenny, we appreciate the time.
Love talking to you. Can't wait to talk to you again.
Thanks so much, just toough Kenny.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
Thanks man, Thanks Kerrey, I appreciate.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
It, Kenny, Albert Tell the Jets beat the Falcons today
twenty seven to twenty four. Jets improved the three to
nine Falcons, followed to four and eight. The Falcons to
me are Canna Sota right, empty calories like it tastes
Goodbijon gets his, but is it good for you?

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Do they get a win?

Speaker 1 (23:01):
No?

Speaker 3 (23:01):
They're not in In the end, it's usually a negative
when it comes to the Falcons, and that would be
the loss. And that's it's why the Raheem Morris conversation
of him returning is even without Drake London, even without
Michael Pennix. Sometimes coaches get a grace because of the injuries.
I don't think we're seeing that because this is a

(23:21):
Falcons team that really hasn't lived up to their expectations
no matter who's been playing.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Yeah, I mean, Raheem Morris is a defensive guy. Their
defense isn't consistent, their offense isn't consistent. We don't know
who they are, and I think we should know they
are with they got all they got weapons, they got
one of the best players in the league, got running back,
and their wishy washy with how they use them. I mean,
he should be he should be getting thirty touches a game.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
He's young. I know it sounds like a lot.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
That means if you're getting thirty catches, let's say twenty
eight touches, twenty three carries, you know, five catches a game.
I think today he probably had that and he scored
twenty four points. But the defense allows. The Jets have
scored twenty seven points, but that's to beat their identity,
and I don't we don't know what we're going to
get from them game to game.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
I'm going to tell you this is these are true stats.
The Falcons had the football longer than the Jets. You know,
that's not a tell all. But they had it for
thirty three minutes compared to the twenty seven the Jets
had it. The Falcons had one turnover proofs costly. They
had one penalty the Falcons had today the Jets committed nine.

(24:24):
The Falcons had twenty eight twenty five first downs. Excuse me,
the Jets had sixteen. Like there's if you go into
the to the box score and look, yeah, and it
looks like, oh, it be the Falcons winning. You look
at Bijon's numbers. Twenty three carries one hundred and forty
two yards. Absolutely, but it's the Jets who jump out
to a lead, they hang with them, and then at

(24:45):
the end they're the ones making the plays. There was
a muff punt by the Falcons earlier in the contest
that set the Jets up early for a score. It's
all of those mistakes that keep on happening too, and
it's not just the Falcons, it's other teams like that.
But that's how you know then there's a problem. And Dan,
what have you flipped this? And we go to the
Jets and we said the last you know, last what

(25:05):
they're three and two in the last five games. If
they make the switch earlier to Tyrod Taylor's, is this
a different team you think? Do you think they have
more wins? I think they maybe have another win. That's one, right,
And I say that not knowing like thinking back of
not having the schedule offhand, but the difference of like
I don't think Torod Taylor is a three victory change quarterback,

(25:30):
Like they're not six and six. If they make the change,
I would say that it's probably about a game.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
And I mean not just just looking here.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
I mean remember they were close against Tampa and that's
where we got the crazy dance from Aaron Glenn on
the sideline. They lost a thirteen to six game to
the Panthers, thirteen eleven to the to the Broncos. Who
was in that Panthers game that Bryce Young was hurt? Like,
there's yeah, I mean there were only won Dan Well,
I was trying. I was trying to remember when Justin

(26:02):
Fields was was going to be out and Toronn Taylor
was going to replace him, but then Taylor got hurt
and couldn't replace them. Fields came in for the Bengals game,
came back and played for that one. So that's that's
why I say, maybe just one of the games that
it would be one win. It would be one win better,
but they wouldn't be six and six. There's no way
that's happening. The other thing, with their their draft picks

(26:25):
that they got, it's it's not being able to have
three first round picks. It's being able to take those
first round picks and then maybe being able to move
and getting someone or getting your quarterback in the future
or whoever maybe. And that's why Joe Burrow's name has
been tossed around in the Jets circles of how long

(26:45):
is Joe Burro going to want to deal with the
issues in Cincinnati or how long is Cincinnati going to
want to be able to just pay their top guys
and instead look for a different direction if you can
only win so many games. So that's why Burrow and
the Jets have been connect all right, he's Carrier Roads.
I'm Dan Byer. For a look around. What's happening in
these late games. Oh, we got to score in the

(27:06):
AFC West show down between the Raiders and Chargers. For
more on that and these three late games, let's go
to Monty Belanos.

Speaker 8 (27:12):
Yeah, Gino Smith connected with Brock Bauers in the end
zone and that's how the Raiders tied the game against
the Chargers in LA seven apiece less than two minutes
to go in the first half of this one. You know,
Josh Allen complains a lot about not getting a flag,
you know, a late hit this, and that he definitely
probably deserved a flag after getting a late hit from

(27:33):
Patrick Queen. He slid and it was obvious his day.
They didn't throw the flag. But the Steelers right now
are up on the Bills seven zero. Even though the
Bills are driving, making their way towards the red zone.
There's two minutes to go in the first half. The
first half between the Vikings and the Seahawks. Well, Jackson
Smith and Jigba zero catches for zero yards and justin
Jefferson zero catches for zero yards. So everything's going as

(27:55):
you expected. Seahawks are up on the Vikings thirteen zero
at the half. What happened earlier in the day, Well,
the Panthers had the upset win over the Rams. Thirty
one to twenty eight was the final score. Bryce Young
through for two hundred and six yards and three touchdowns,
while Matthew Stafford threw for two hundred and forty three yards,
two touchdowns, two interceptions, one of them was a pick six.

(28:16):
He also lost to fumble at the end. That's sealed
the win for Carolina. Thank you to my fantasy team.
Before his first pick, Stafford said a NFL record twenty
eight straight touch twenty eight straight touchdown passes without an interception.
That was like the middle and then immediately threw a
pick right after everyone jinks up.

Speaker 9 (28:34):
Everybody was talking about it, and then threw a pick
right after that.

Speaker 8 (28:36):
Following that Rams loss, the Bears right now are in
first place in the NFC. The forty nine ers Crews
passed the rounds twenty six to eight. Buccaneers held on
twenty to seventeen against the Cardinals. Baker Mayfield threw a
touchdown touchdown pass to Tristan Wurf's his first ever, His
first ever, and there's a picture of Worf being lifted
by another big man.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Wors what I'm saying.

Speaker 9 (28:58):
I'm saying right, it's great.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
But as his first ever, Texans also held on twenty
to sixteen against the Colts, Jaguars rolled past the Titians
twenty five to three, Dolphins survived twenty one to seventeen
against the Saints, and the Chats walked it off, as
you guys were just talking about, with the fifty six
yard field goal to defeat the Falcons twenty seven to
twenty four. When it comes to college football, Lanekiffin officially

(29:21):
announced that he is headed to LSU. In fact, there's
a video circulating that I was gonna play for you guys.

Speaker 9 (29:26):
I just don't know how many fus are in the
background of it. But he's leading to Baton Ruge.

Speaker 8 (29:31):
He's getting on a plane and it's all these people
there to send him off, and.

Speaker 9 (29:35):
There's a lot of booze.

Speaker 8 (29:36):
A couple of fingers are sticking out of people's hands,
you know what finger. And so I was like, I
don't know if I could play because I hear's some
fus in the back. But that has officially happened. He
said he wanted to stay for the college Football playoff
run with the Rebels, but that the athletic director Keith Carter,
did not allow him to.

Speaker 9 (29:51):
He put his name in his statement.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Mazi were the fingers? Were they audible?

Speaker 1 (29:56):
There?

Speaker 2 (30:00):
The second?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (30:01):
And Michigan State is hiring former Northwestern Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald.
Auburn has heard South Florida is Alex Golish, and Florida
is finalizing a six year deal to make two lanes.
John Summer all their head coach, sure good hire.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
So we knew LSU was open, we knew Florida was open.
We knew Auburn was open. Jonathan Smith got canned by
Michigan State. To Mont's point today, after just two years,
he left Oregon State to take over the Michigan State job.
And it's crazy on how just things have changed so
much in college athletics, where you know Oregon State's playing
Washington State is the two PAC twelve teams. Still Smith

(30:37):
goes to East Lansing trying to turn things around, and
that's quickly wrapped up in two seasons.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
He's out. Now.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
Fitzgerald, which was a hot name thrown around in a
bunch of different spots now is off the board and
going to Michigan State staying in conference, which some thought
maybe he could do that, maybe even Penn State would
be an option, but he instead goes to Michigan State
as Jonathan Smith's out after two years.

Speaker 4 (30:58):
Yeah, it's so crazy college football. I mean, you talk
about musical chairs with coaches. You just you have no
idea how long they're going to be at those places.
I mean, we talked about Penn State and Franklin being fired,
and you know, like obviously didn't win the big one,
but i mean other coaches are going to get there
to get over to hump in that division. So it's
just it's sometimes it's insane, and I think the the

(31:20):
immediacy of the returns that you know, teams and fans
want from those coaches in those situations, it's just hard.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
I thought when we were talking about the lan Kiffin
situation hypothetically, yeah, you know, roundabout way, when he was
being rumored to go these places. Yeah, I'd sit on
the air here in Fox Sports Radio that I thought
that there was a way where he could coach the
team through the playoffs and then go to his new

(31:45):
school and as soon as they put out the statement
last week saying that a decision was going to be
announced on Saturday, that just that wasn't feasible, like no
one really would have been happy, Like you want to
think like it's one last go around and let's you know,
let's get the guys back together for one last hurrah,
and that just that doesn't serve Ole Miss, who feels

(32:06):
like they are now playing second fiddle to LSU. You're
wondering on how much of Lane Kiffin's commitment is to
Ole Miss in that playoff run as opposed to his
job at LSU. And you need if you're going to
win a national championship, you need someone plugged in one
hundred percent of the time. And you can't have Lane
Kifvin distracted. And you can't you can't have the image

(32:29):
of an LSU coach within your conference coaching your team.
And it goes back to nineteen eighty nine when Bill
Frieder took the job at Arizona State and both Schambeckler,
the athletic director at Michigan, said we want a Michigan
man coaching Michigan. They promoted Steve Fisher, and Michigan goes
on and wins the NCAA tournament, and then Steve Fisher
is in law and that moment is in law. But

(32:51):
that's essentially what ole Miss has at stake, and if
they are able to go and win a national championship,
it will rival, maybe even surpass what Michigan did in
college basketball in nineteen eighty nine.

Speaker 4 (33:02):
It'd be one hundred percent one of the best stories ever.
I mean, for your head coach to be flirting, not
even flirting now, to have taken the job at a
rival team in the same conference while he has a
chance to win a national championship with that team. You're
in the playoffs and you have that chance. It's just
it's such a crazy thought for me, Dan, it really

(33:22):
makes it. It makes me upset, and I hope that
Old Miss actually does win it just for those reasons.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Is it is it a requirement to pass up on
a A I don't want to say a dream job,
because I felt like USC was his dream job and
that didn't work out.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Yeah, but a job of that? Is it a.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
Requirement to surpass all potential options to stick with your team? Like,
because ole Miss is good, do you feel that link
Kiffin was required to turn down the LSU job.

Speaker 4 (33:55):
He's not required to do anything, but he's there's definitely
a loyal city. And you have these kids that are
fighting for you to get your first national championship and
actually give you a chance to go to the playoffs.
And with him an ole Miss having you know, success
throughout the regular season but never being able to get
over to Hump and getting to that playoff and really
do damage. Now is that time, and now is the

(34:16):
time you want to leave and flirt with other jobs.
It just doesn't make any sense. Obviously, the money is
the thing, I'm sure, but.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
Other than that, what else It makes sense when you
think that ole Miss may not ever reach this point
again and that you could be I mean, if he
stays at ole Miss and they aren't able to turn
over the success, he could be out of a job
in three years and then the LSU job and other
jobs are no longer there. That's the risk that you
would take and saying it sounds weird calling it a

(34:42):
risk to stay with your guys, but that's the risk
that you would have to take in Link. If it
isn't willing to take that risk, he's Carrier Roads. I'm
dan Byer So the Steelers right now up on the
Bills seven nothing, but Buffalo's got it inside the red
zone driving with fifty four seconds left to go before halftime,
but a fourth down decision coming up for Sean McDermott
and the Bills. Seahawks on a third and one, unable

(35:04):
to get it at the Vikings thirty six yard line,
so they've got a decision early in the third quarter.
Up thirteen nothing on the Vikings. We'll see if Jason
Myers comes on to kick a field goal and the
Raiders and Chargers tied up at seven apiece at the half.
As Justin Herbert continues to play through that hand injury
that he suffered in the first half, he's carry Roads.
I'm Dan Byer a look at fantasy numbers. Next on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio, Bill said, Steelers.

Speaker 7 (35:30):
Rogers has Warren now to his left, Anderson in motion
right to left.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
The handoff Warren.

Speaker 10 (35:35):
Straight up the middle, following Anderson into the end zone.

Speaker 1 (35:38):
Touchdown, Pittsburgh Steelers. Once again, here's Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
It's the lone touchdown in Pittsburgh right now. Steelers Radio
Network on the call. Pittsburgh up on the bill seven
to three with fifty one seconds left to go in
the first half. Seahawks have a sixteen nothing lean on
the Vikings. Midway through the third quarter, Minnesota facing a
third and fourteen from the Seahawk forty three yard line,
and the Raiders and Chargers remained tied at seven in

(36:07):
La as they are at the half in that AFC
West showdown. He is carry rhades the All Pro Final
mat Carrie twenty five roads. You can find me at
Dan Byer on Fox. Let's jump to the news desk.
Monzi Milanios is a look at some fantasy numbers.

Speaker 1 (36:20):
Go for fantasy hits.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
And missus all right, got the hits? Bonsor yeah, I
got it.

Speaker 9 (36:27):
Let's go for it, all right?

Speaker 8 (36:29):
Quarterbacks, our favorite Carrie, who's our favorite?

Speaker 2 (36:33):
Our favorite quarterback? Yeah, exactly, good job passing quiz.

Speaker 8 (36:41):
Yeah, I was like, oh yeah, twenty eight points.

Speaker 9 (36:46):
He is the leading quarterback, Thank you, Alex.

Speaker 8 (36:48):
Of the day so far, he threw for two hundred
and six yards, three touchdowns, no interceptions.

Speaker 9 (36:52):
He also had twenty three rushing yards. Coming in at.

Speaker 8 (36:55):
Number two today, Trevor Lawrence against the Titans twenty five points.
He threw for two hundred and twenty nine yards and
two touchdowns. He also had twenty five rushing touchdowns. When
it comes to the wide receivers, Deni Mitchell, Did I
say that right?

Speaker 11 (37:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:11):
That's eighty.

Speaker 8 (37:12):
I want to say it all eighty, ad I Mitchell
twenty four points today, eight catches, one hundred and two
yards and one touchdown.

Speaker 9 (37:19):
Also Devon Veley, look at we got new wide.

Speaker 8 (37:22):
Receivers today, exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
The Broncos really liked they let him go.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Yeah, it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 8 (37:30):
Yes, so he twenty three points today, eight catches, ninety
three yards and a touchdown. When it comes to the
running backs, the top running back so far of the
day with the games that have wrapped up, Jon Robinson
thirty points. He had twenty three carries, one hundred and
forty two yards and a touchdown. He also had five
catches for fifty one yards. And then Shuba Hubbard on
my bench twenty points. Seventeen carries for eighty three yards

(37:54):
plus two catches for forty one yards and a touchdown
will give an honorable mention to top tight end of
the day.

Speaker 9 (38:00):
Trey McBride with twenty two points.

Speaker 3 (38:03):
McBride mcride asking Tridi McBride to drink a gerum and
beer with us. I I triggered, that's upwards. So two
German guys, have you ever seen the TikTok? They actually
made it to game a couple of weeks ago, all
of it. Yes, it's great for seventy straight days in Germany.
They had asked because they're Cardinal fans, father and son.

(38:26):
They play, son plays American football, and they tried to
get Trey McBride to drink a German beer with him.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Now.

Speaker 3 (38:32):
He showed up on the sidelines with cups of Gatorade
and said, we'll get to that German beer later. But
that's how they kind of cast it on the bat guy.

Speaker 9 (38:39):
Yeah, it's so good.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
It's so good, and somebody here sent me it and
I was convinced it was Iowa Sam because that is
like real house Iowa Sam.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
And he looked at me like I was from Mars.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
So it's someone at Fox Sports Radio that sent it
to me and said, I love these guys, and I
don't know who it was, but.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Thank you for it.

Speaker 9 (38:57):
Yeah, it was so good when when you showed me
I loved it.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Yeah, it's simple. It's simple, clean social media, not the
smutt and garbage that we see in.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
So many places career. It's so much, it's so much,
all right.

Speaker 3 (39:10):
Those are the fantasy hits, that's right, Manzi's gonna have
the misses coming up in just a little bit. Looks
like the Vikings missed on a scoring opportunity. A fumble
on a third down by Aaron Jones turns the ball
back over to the Seahawks, still up sixteen to nothing
in Max Brozmer's first start of his career. Now, the
Seahawks mathematically they would be record wise, they would be

(39:33):
tied with the Rams if they finished this game off,
but because of that lost to the Rams a couple
of weeks ago in La Rams would have the tiebreaker
over them. But the Seahawks are right there too, knocking
on the door, possibly with a game against the Rams
in Seattle in a couple of weeks on a Thursday night.
They're in the thick of it as well for that
number one overall.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
So yeah, we talked about it, Dan, I mean, all
these games right now means so much for so many teams,
for so many different reasons, and So the Seahawks, Yes,
they let one get away again instagrams a couple of
weeks ago where.

Speaker 2 (40:02):
They had a chance to win that one.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
They can win this one, have another chance to play
them head to head, and then we'll see who can
take control of that division.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
Yeah, I mentioned and I may have sounded like a
whiner when I said last year that there were fifteen
teams in the NFL that had ten wins. Yeah, fourteen
of them made the playoffs. The Seahawks were the one
that didn't. They were ten and seven. But when you
look at the teams again, we keep on talking about
those on the outside looking in. Now we're talking about
the Lions, We're talking about the red hot Cowboys. There's
gonna be some good teams or teams that are playing

(40:29):
good football at the end of the year that aren't
gonna make it because they just got beyond the eight
ball or things fell apart at the end, and.

Speaker 4 (40:34):
They're going to look back at the season and think
about all the missed opportunities in those games that they
should have.

Speaker 12 (40:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:39):
Absolutely, that's his story is all this time he's carry roads.
I'm Dan Beyer, Justin Herbert, and the Chargers are ready
to take the field of the second half, and what
is wrong with one of the AFC's biggest contenders.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
We'll talk about it next on Fox.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
MONSI just told you that the Chargers are in the
end zone and the Seahawks are going to do what
they have been doing, kicking field goals Jason Meyers on
for a thirty four yard attempt. Maybe the Chargers should
have taken the Seahawks advice earlier because they passed up
on some points allowed the Raiders to tie it. But yeah,
Bolts are up seven, Seahawks trying to go up nineteen
nothing on the Vikings, and again these Steelers and Bills

(41:13):
still at the half as Pittsburgh has that four point lead.
Welcome in it is End Zone Radio. He is Carrie Rhodes,
the former All Pro. I'm Dan Beyer. Glad to have
you with us in Week thirteen Great Games. On Thursday,
we mentioned the Bears Eagles matchup on Friday as well,
So this schedule is a little funky. Steelers and Bills
is obviously the headliner, but we've got a couple of
prime time games tonight that maybe don't loose excitement with

(41:35):
Commanders and Broncos no offense. If Jayden Daniels playing and
the Commanders were maybe a little bit better team, We're
more excited about that game than tomorrow night Super Bowl
rematch from forty two to forty six Super Bowls forty
two and forty six Giants and Patriots, same thing. Yeah,
you winsd You heard the ooh that may sound like
ooh that's good. No, that was a WinCE look from

(41:57):
Krry Rhoads and having to watch that game. So that's
what we got for Monday night football.

Speaker 4 (42:01):
Oh man, the Giants and Patriots, I know they're thinking
about all the glory days. I guess the Patriots are,
you know, sniffing around success again and the Giants are
in flux, which has been the problem with a lot
of teams so far this season.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Patriots heavy ten wins on the season. Yeah, but I
don't know if people are calling them a great team.
Frank Schwab, friend of the network Yahoo Sports, wrote an
article after the early games today made a post there
are no great teams in the National Football and this
is a conversation that's been going on for the last
couple of weeks. Yeah, I think it's safe to say

(42:36):
that statement. But the reason is, why isn't there a
great team, Why isn't there a dominant team in the
National Football League in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yeah, I think we've.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
Had conversations about it where all these teams have something
that they're good at, and I think that's for the
most part, they have some sense of identity. But I
think with the way the league is now, everybody going
on fourth down, everybody being super and hyper aggressive to
score points and not play complimentary football, which we talked

(43:07):
about before. Teams that have longevity, teams that can get
over the hump to win it all and be great,
they play complimentary football and they know what their stints are.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
Right.

Speaker 4 (43:18):
So, if we got a high scoring team and we
can score a lot of points and we can just
overwhelm you, cool, But there's gonna be a game where
there's gonna be a team that can match you or
can eliminate some of the things you do well. So
how do you go into a game and win those
games within the game doing the things that you can
do complimentary to win those games? And I think for

(43:38):
the most part, we don't have any of those teams, right,
So there's points in the season where Buffalo's offense look unstoppable.
That's not the case now, right. We knew their defense
lacked secondary strength and playmakers on that side of the ball. Right,
So if that's the case, when the offense is not
high flying and Josh Allen isn't doing Josh Allen things,

(44:00):
is the identity of that team and what should be
what should be the identity of that team, And we've
talked about it, it should be James Cook. And if
they did that, you limit the chances that other teams
have to go against your weakness, which is your secondary
Like I don't see head coaches and teams building fundamentally
sound football teams that can execute day in and day
out all three phases. And you also hit something with

(44:23):
you said something about the salary cap being an issue
with all of that stuff too, Spending money on high
end players and just trying to take care of franchises
to sale tickets aren't going to win you games.

Speaker 3 (44:33):
Yeah, And I hear so much of the conversation and
heard it over the past week as well, of the
conversation of teams having this window, and it really focused
on JJ McCarthy and the Vikings and why they didn't
pay Sam Donald why, like Daniel Jones, really wasn't an option,
and it was all talked about how they wanted to

(44:54):
maximize this rookie window of JJ McCarthy. And I just
think that that is that's not how you should go
about winning Super Bowls, like you need to take advantage
of it. Yes, you need to need to do things
that will aid your team, but it's the same conversation
we have with the We had with the forty nine

(45:15):
ers before they gave brock Party his extension was the
forty nine ers, better do it now because you're going
to have to end up paying brock Party. And I
don't think that that's good for the National Football League
to have a scenario where teams are drafting young quarterbacks
and feel that they only have a five year window
when their quarterback's young, not when their quarterback is to

(45:38):
Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen's stage. And I think that
is something that's backwards. Like I told you, I thought
the Rams over the last week, and you really were
first on how good the Rams were dating back to
last season, but I felt the Rams were the best
team in the NFL through the midway point of this season.
They did get out played by Seattle. They force turnof

(46:00):
were said. Granted, the Rams gave them pressure, but statistically
you would see the Seahawks dominated that game. Statistically Rams
still ended up winning. But today is a perfect example
of you go on the cross country after a son
of that game, you dominate the Buccaneers, and then you
play the Panthers today and Matthew Stafford makes a couple
of bad mistakes and it ends up costing you a game,

(46:20):
and now we're not looking at the Rams as great. Well,
if the Rams win today, are they great? And I think, ultimately, Carrie,
it's the middle of the NFL that is like the
reason why we don't have great teams.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
It's because.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
The teams may not be as high as they once were,
but the middle of the league is better than what
it once was, and it's why we see so many
teams still in the thick of it.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
In the playoff hunt at this point.

Speaker 4 (46:46):
I do I like that, I agree with that, but
I also want to say that the teams that we
think about having the most talent, like who do you
think right now, like has the most talent in the league?
The Eagles, You say, the Eagles, right yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
How good are they? Well, they don't seem to be
on the same page. And that's it, and that's where
I'm going.

Speaker 4 (47:09):
So you think about the team like the Eagles that
we think have the best, the best roster construction in
the NFL. Their defense and the way they play, it's
usually complementary. Last year it was one hundred percent that right, like, yes,
we knew they're going to run the ball, we're going
to get some deep passes over the top, and we
know who we are. We're going to play really good defense,

(47:30):
no brainer. That's team that won a championship. Right, this year,
you have the thing you just said, there's inconsistency. There's
there's players griping, wanting the ball more. There's that level
of human the human element for the players here. Now
that they've already won, now people want their numbers and
so now that takes you out of what you do

(47:50):
best because other people are throwing that olf kilter out
of whack. And so that's why teams are struggling. The
Ravens we talked about having a really good team but
also underperforming, Like as far as they're goes, you thought
they had a really good roster.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
Coming in Yeah, yeah, Lamar Jackson. You know, Derrick Henry,
Lamar Jackson not playing well.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Yeah, they so. Injuries on defense as well.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
We've got to play in the Steelers Bills game that
has now given the Bills a lead. Aaron Rodgers was
sacked from behind, lost the football picked up, and the
Bill's defense is the one who gets it into the
end zone. And Aaron Rodgers was slow to get up
again playing with two fractures in his left wrist, and
was down on the ground still holding that wrist. But

(48:32):
Buffalo has now taken a nine to seven lead, with
Rogers slow to get up and bleeding from the bridge
of his nose.

Speaker 4 (48:40):
Hey, it's time to go home. Hey Rod, I love you, man,
but it's time. It's time to hang it out.

Speaker 2 (48:45):
Man. This is there's no coming back. It's time to
go home. Man. You know, you know what.

Speaker 4 (48:51):
I really wanted him to play one more year. But
he doesn't. He doesn't. He's not he's not the answer.

Speaker 3 (48:57):
Extra point was good, so the Bills get the defensive
touchdown on the first play from scrimmage of the second half,
and now they are up ten to seven in the
steel City. Interesting happenings in Minnesota. I got some good
news and some bad news for Justin Jefferson fans.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
What do you got? The good news is is he
now has a catch. He does.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
It was for negative for y'all, but that was the
way that they got the ball to Justin Jefferson. He
was slammed to the ground by Nickimn Warri, the Seahawks
rookie safety from South Carolina. Personal foul, new set of downs,
Vikings keep the drive alive. Max Brosmore throws an interception
on the next play, and so now the Seahawks have

(49:38):
the football of nineteen to nothing.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
And what's happening in Pittsburgh? Carry, Yeah, we got Aaron Rodgers.
Seems like he's out the game. Mason Rudolph is in
so as I said, that didn't look good he man,
don't you know. I want to talk about what he did,
but it looked like he could have broken his nose
here or something.

Speaker 2 (49:51):
But doesn't look good for Aaron.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
He was also holding that left arm in a very
protective fashion, playing with a cast on it. Now this
game is completely still up for grabs at ten to seven.
The Steelers feel that Mason Rudolph gives them a better
opportunity to win this game against Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (50:10):
Yeah, the Steelers mess amount loses game, We'll be talking about.
We were questioning why Joe Burrow came back to play.
There are only two games behind if Pittsburgh losed this game.
So I've seen crazier things happen.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
Yeah, absolutely, Steelers, man, that's crazy. The foreshadowing that people
had and looking at what was happening. And we considered
the Bengals so much possibly as that team to come
back because we kept on focusing on Joe Burrow's injury. Again,
they won one game with Joe Flacco. They won one

(50:44):
game during the span between when Burrow was injured. It
was injured in the game that they won, but it
was Week two against Jacksonville. They had won one game
between then and last Thursday Night, and then that was
that Thursday night game against Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers
that we all saw. Yeah, but like, it really couldn't
have gone worse for Cincinnati in that scenario to.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
Have that stretch where they didn't win a game.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
They lost the heartbreaker to the Bears, lost the heartbreaker
to the Jets, and letting the Jets win Those games
like those are Yeah, those It really didn't go according
to plan for Cincinnati. Yet that division is so bad
right now, that is where they are. So the Bills
have a ten to seven lead Omni Steelers early in
the second half in Pittsburgh. Mason Rudolph in for Aaron Rodgers.

(51:30):
We told you about Max Brosmur being picked off after
the penalty, So the Seahawks have it first and ten
nearing the end of the third quarter of nineteen to
nothing on Minnesota. Another turnover for the Vikings as Brosmer
just he's airmailed a couple. Is that the tendency for
a rookie quarterback. He's just trying to drop it in
the bucket and can't find his receivers. But it's not

(51:51):
the first pass that we've seen go high over a
receiver today in Seattle.

Speaker 7 (51:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
Those are the hardest throws in the NFL, those layer throws,
and so you got to have a little touch have
You got to be accurate with the ball and on time,
and right now, for a guy that's going against one
of the better defense, it's to find those windows and
to be patient and be on time.

Speaker 2 (52:09):
As they assume won than anything.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
And Jackson Smith and Jigba's got a catch. How about that?
So justin Jefferson had his catch for negative yardage Jackson
Smith and Jigba finally gets his It's going to get
a first down his first catch of the day for
the Seahawks, but again they haven't needed him. Up nineteen
to nothing and the Raiders facing a third down and five.
Is it crazy to you to hear the stories that

(52:30):
we heard out of Las Vegas this past week Chip
Kelly fired as the offensive coordinator, that he wasn't calling
the right plays at times, meaning there was confusion over
what actual plays he was calling because he was getting
them mixed up. Then we were hearing that Pete Carroll
was installing some of his Seahawks days stuff and not
Chip Kelly's offense, and that there was frustration on how

(52:53):
Pete Carroll wanted the offense to run. Does any of
that surprise you of what happened in Las Vegas? Now
with Greg Olsen taking the OC, Yes, your head coach
and your offensive coordinator has to be won. Like whatever
we talked about, like whatever your game plan is going
to the game, We've talked about this all week and
we've prepared this for this week to attack a certain

(53:13):
team the way we want to attack him. And so
if you're not seeing out of eye or you're going
off script and calling plays that you want to call
in that situation, if you don't have that freedom and
you've already talked to the head coach about what the
game plan is, that just doesn't sit well with the
head coach.

Speaker 4 (53:28):
And so I can see why he would feel that way.
But the fact that you're hiring hiring a guy and
giving him that much money, he should have some autonomy
as well. So that's what a disconnected is with me.
I wouldn't understand why that would be, but confusion between
staff members I can definitely see.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
I'll just leave you with this.

Speaker 3 (53:45):
Ian Rappaport said that there's a bit of a divide
going on with the Raiders, not with Pete Carroll and
Chip Kelly, because that divide is done. Chip Kelly's out,
but there's a divide between Carroll and the front office,
and that the front office is at a point where
they want to look to next year and that's not
what Pete Carroll wants to do. And actually Carrie it

(54:08):
goes back to his time in Seattle where Seattle had this.
I mean it was boring. You felt like they were
trying to reload every year when they needed a refreshing,
they needed a restart. They didn't have to rebuild the
whole thing, but they needed to kind of maybe go
down to come back up. And that's not how Pete

(54:28):
Carroll was wired. Pete Carroll's wired to make the playoffs,
to see what you can do. And so when he
goes into Las Vegas again, there's probably only a few
more years in Pete Carroll's coaching career. The last thing
that he wants to do is punt on a season.
But this is also in his DNA that I'm not
going to quit. It's compete, compete, compete, compete. So even
he in the front office, according to the NFL Network report,

(54:50):
aren't on the same page as The Raiders have played
the fewest rookie snaps of any team I think in
the National Football League up to this point of the season.

Speaker 2 (54:57):
Man, that's on ownership.

Speaker 4 (54:59):
You hired the guy that you want to steer your
group the way you want it to be steered. If
you're going to bring in an accomplished head coach like
Pete Carroll, he's not trying to lose. He's gonna try
to win and he's gonna fight. That's in his DNA,
that's who he's been. So to bring him in to
be the person that kind of gets you to that
next whoever, whatever that next situation was going to be,

(55:19):
Why would you bring in Peek Carroll in the first place? Yeah, right,
that's what It doesn't make sense what it was.

Speaker 3 (55:24):
It was it Big Daddy when Adam Sandler's like ex
girlfriend was with the old guy and he's like, what's
your five year plan?

Speaker 2 (55:30):
Like not die?

Speaker 3 (55:31):
You know, Like, I'm not saying that that's Pete Carroll's plan.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
Please don't take me wrong.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
But the point is Pete Carroll's not sending there looking
at this as a five year project. He's looking at
it as a five month project. Let's turn it around now.
And we know that because they brought in Geno Smith. Yes,
that's yes, he's Carrier Roads. I'm Dan Byer yea. What
do the Raiders do to the Raiders? T next plus
our NFL insider Adam Kaplan will give us all the

(55:56):
dirt of what's happening in the National Football League. Who's
trending the right way? And who's trending the wrong way
when it comes to the playoffs. That's next tier. Chargers
up on the Raiders fourteen to seven. Midway through the
third quarter, Chargers have the football, Seahawks up nineteen to nothing.
Early in the fourth, They've got the football against Minnesota
and it's the Bills ten, Steelers seven. With Aaron Rodgers
out of the game because of that fractured wrist. Mason

(56:19):
Rudolph in as the Steelers trail Buffalo by three early
in the third quarter, he's carry Roads. I'm Dan Byer
Adam Kaplan next year on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
Bills at Steelers fourth and goal just inside the two
yard line, Allen in the shotgun motion pumps Allen fires
into the episode.

Speaker 10 (56:37):
Dick keon Coleman for the one yard touchdown reception.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
WGR five to fifty.

Speaker 3 (56:48):
The Bills radio network with that call the extra point
no good, so it's stays sixteen to seven. Bill's on
top of the Steelers, who are now being led by
Mason Rudolph, who replaced Aaron Rodgers Early in the second half.
Rogers was hit fumbled, Buffalo scored defensively, but Rodgers, playing
with those fractures in his left wrist, done for the day.

(57:09):
Chargers got into the end zone justin Herbert a touchdown pass.
The Lad McConkie extra point was good there, so the
Bolts are on top of the Raiders twenty one to
seven in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the
Max Brosmer experience has been quite the experience and not
a good one for the Vikings. A deflection, he was
picked off again by Ernest Jones, his second interception of

(57:29):
the game. Seahawks up nineteen to nothing. Seahawks have the
ball in Vikings territory, twelve minutes in counting to go
in Minnesota. He is Kerrie Rhodes. I'm Dan Byer joining
us now our NFL insider Adam Kaplan as we always
love to talk shop and I know that they weren't
expecting great things from Max Brozmur the Minnesota Vikings, but

(57:50):
they couldn't have expected as poorly as it's gone so
far for them in Seattle. How are we looking at
the Vikings quarterbacking situation now with JJ McCarthy still in
concussion protocol.

Speaker 13 (58:02):
At the bottom line is they wanted this evaluation of
McCarthy this season. They're going to get one when he's healthy,
and that's kind of where it stands. And then what
they'll do is what you saw the Colts do. They'll
bring in a quarterback to compete against them if it's
not good enough. That's where they stand. That's my understanding
and has been Brosmer has been a nice story as
an uncentricreation. By the way, there was a really bad

(58:22):
drop in the first if by Addison red Evern the
middle was actually a great throw and he dropped. It
was right in his hands. But the overall it's been
a disaster. And let's face it, Dan, this team has
not been anywhere near where they thought they would be.
But it's kind of the part for the course with
a bunch of teams this season who we expected to
be better and they're not. And then there's some teams that,
like the Panthers today, I just did not see that today.

(58:43):
I mean, there's things that happen you just don't see.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
It's crazy. Arnid Jones two catches, Jefferson one. That's where
we are right man.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (58:52):
By the way, just an update, Aaron Rodgers back and
he came back for the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
He wasn't ruled out. Yeah, so what he looked like
he was.

Speaker 13 (58:58):
I got hit hard. I know, man, it's you kind
of feel for him. I know they'd like to have
him back next year. But man, they just keep patchworking
this thing. Can he Pickett experience stand did not work out.
Everything they've done since then, it's not worked out, and
they really need to free out.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
The future quarterback.

Speaker 4 (59:15):
The Steelers did all right, Adam, you know we got
to go to an AFC South. I'll talk to you Friday.
What did I tell you about that? About that division?
We got these three teams wide open.

Speaker 13 (59:24):
Now, yeah, it's yeah, look the sauce Gardner and dude,
that's amazing. Look and they by the way, Nico Collins
got after it with with Gardner out and he's got
a calf strain, I believe, And yeah, that kept you know,
you know, as a player, there's things can linger for
several weeks. So that is a problem. It's kind of
like the NFC East all of a sudden, somehow the

(59:44):
Cowboys are only game and a half back and they
have the odd tie against the Packers forty all. But yeah,
that surprises me when you look at the coult situation.
You know, Daniel Jones, you know, we guys, we talked
about this at the time of the South Gardener trade.
They're kind of they're kind locked in him because they
don't have fresh round pick next year and went great today,
So they're gonna have to like this is what happened

(01:00:06):
when the Atlanta's going to this same thing and they're way
worse shape, way worse what an embarrassing loss today. Yeah,
there's that's another team, Dan as I said, that's a
team I did not see like this. Like they didn't
either that they've they felt they had a very good offseason.
I know that for a fact, and they were expecting
to take a big jump and clearly was not happening in Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (01:00:24):
I will add this to the Daniel Jones conversation. I'm
curious both carry your thoughts and Adam Kaplan, as he
joins us here on Fox Sports Radio, if Daniel Jones
is dealing with a slight fracture, he can't run. He
didn't run today, That's what you can't run. They're done
like that. For as great of a story as they
were at the first part of the year, it was

(01:00:45):
also because Jones could move like Jones was an actual threat.
So now you have these different things to deal with.
And maybe he's not Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen running
the football, he still was pretty good. And if he
can't do it, I think it severely limits what they
do on offense.

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
He does.

Speaker 13 (01:01:00):
What happens is he's got great straight line speed and
that's been really what his calling card has been. When
it's done, he don't like what he sees, he will
run up the middle and he's got like forty times
pretty good for a quarterback. Yeah, that Dan, it's a
very stute point. That's a real problem going forward. And yeah,
it was Look, they try, they try to control the
game with the clock with a run game, and it

(01:01:21):
just didn't work. Then they fell behind in Houston. It's
kid Woody Marks did a good job.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Chubb.

Speaker 13 (01:01:26):
Chubb scored and Nico Collins is just a terrific player.
And what went real pretty for CJ. Strout today and
they passing game has been disappointment. But their defense is elite.
I mean they right now to me, they have the
NFL's best defense. There is about a shutdown as it
gets these days.

Speaker 4 (01:01:39):
Yeah, that was the reason I thought they could come
back and win a division. But I want to go, Adam,
I want to go to the NFC West. And so
the Rams obviously have a ticket tough loss today. They
could have gotten a little bit of cushion here and
and been a little bit more comfortable in the NFC
NFC West. But right now kind of falling back to
the pack. Seattle's going to win today, San Francisco wins.
Who's going to win that division?

Speaker 1 (01:01:59):
Boy?

Speaker 13 (01:02:00):
You know, I honestly I picked the Niners. Now, of
course I didn't. I didn't know that they're going to
lose the two best defensive players right for the season,
and the fact that they're nine to four, you could
you could knock the wins.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
That's fine.

Speaker 13 (01:02:11):
I mean, they don't have a lot of quality wins,
but that thing is wide open between the three of them.

Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
See.

Speaker 13 (01:02:18):
I try not to make a big deal over one
loss today, but they're tackling was bad. You know that Panthers.
The only the way they stay in games is not
by throwing it. They although young was sufficient, they round
the ball really well. The Rams, as great as their
defense has been, they have a very small front and
that is the one issue that clubs have gone up
against them have told me that they really small front.
You think going at least you could run on them

(01:02:40):
if your line is strong enough. And that was surprising.
And by the way, the Panthers had a number of
offensive lineman hurt coming into today. That's surprising. Look, that's
still going to be very difficult for the Panthers to
get that last wild card or you know, actually that's
I think honestly the best way they're going to get
in is is going to win the division. They're not

(01:03:00):
againning as wildcard. So if they could win that division
and Tampa just squeaked by today and they got a
bunch of players back today, I'm surprised that game was
so close against the Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
The forty nine ers right now at nine and four
are your seventh seed.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Yeah, it's crazy. Adam Kaplan joining us here.

Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Find him on Exit Kaplin NFL inside the Birds podcast.
You mentioned offensive line. So this allows me to ask
the Frank Regnow retirement is yeah, it was, But what
does that say about the Lions. I know that they
played on Thursday and now rag Now is not going
to be able to come out of retirement. Because he
feeled as physical. Well, what does that say about this

(01:03:40):
Detroit team that right now is on the outside looking
into this NFC playoff?

Speaker 13 (01:03:43):
Bick Dan, And they have so many jury problems, So
I'm on Ross Brown's going to miss time with his
ankle injury. Yeah, Graham Glasgow, who had been starting at
center for ragnow is heart. He could play center and guard.
By the way, they're playing a kid who they signed
off the Eagles practice squad, kyoto Oska, who's playing guard,
is really a tackle. Ratledge is not. The rookie of

(01:04:04):
the second round pick is not seeing great around the league,
and their offensive line is not playing particularly well, and
they don't have very good depth. They're going to see
the kid Isaac Tesla startup receiver who off to start
because they just don't have anyone else. And as I've
been telling you now for two years, they got major
problems at corner.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
So, yeah, they've got.

Speaker 13 (01:04:20):
Problems, Dan. I don't see how they're going to get in.
I did pick the Packers to win the division. The
issues that I have with the football team are still there.
They don't they're not other than Hutchinson. They don't have
great pass rushers, and it's the roster is down this year.

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
It's no.

Speaker 13 (01:04:34):
I know they've had a lot of injuries, but I'm
just not I'm not on them like everyone else was.

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Yeah, and I'll say this about the Packers, like, I'm
not saying that they're perfect and that there are problems,
but I rather have their I'd rather have their problems
than the Lions problems or other problems around the NFL.
So they're not They're not perfect, but I still would
rather be in Green Bay situation than maybe some other
situations in the NFL.

Speaker 13 (01:04:56):
Yeah, I totally agree Dan, Actually Green Bay. I mean
they have some injuries. Nate Hobbs had more out. He's
got this knee problem. He's had any problems for most
of his career but at corner. But overall, they're much
better health in the lines. And see that's the key
talking to clubs about this. If you want to make
the playoffs, it's or an advance. It's very hard to
do it if you don't have good health. It's just

(01:05:17):
that's the way to I know, some of it's luck.
It's how you train, you know. You always say, well,
why are teams like the Lions and some other teams
always dealing with injury problems. Look, you saw the Ravens
carry it like them coming.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
To the season. Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:05:29):
Well, the one big reasons why they're one of five
is there were down seven stars on defense for one
week I mean that right, and a bunch over a
series of weeks. If you don't have good health, it's
hard to win.

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
It's crazy, Adam, I know, like right now, I think
you would say this is a feel good story.

Speaker 2 (01:05:42):
The Bears are nine to three, they're number one. Can't
the number one listen to?

Speaker 7 (01:05:47):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
So they're number one?

Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
They're number one in an MC right now? You look
at their last five games, I know, I think they
will only be favored in one of those games. Do
you think they win a division or do they even
squeak into the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (01:05:59):
I look at it difficult to.

Speaker 13 (01:06:01):
Be possible, difficult because if you look at the rest
of their schedule before this game against Philly, it was like.

Speaker 2 (01:06:07):
I'll talk about favorable.

Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
I mean they play now.

Speaker 13 (01:06:10):
They played the lioness week too, they got blown out
when the Lions were fairly healthy. But now you look
at it, over the next three weeks they played the
Packers twice. Yes, they got to at the Niners and
we'll see if Detroit and we'll see what that game
means for either team. But yeah, there are it's going
to be tough. But man, the thing that I love
about this team Curry and there's no way anyone could
have known this. Not only nine to three, they're five

(01:06:31):
and two on the road. Yes, like that rookie head coach.
And Ben Johnson I know from talking to the Lions
like they love Ben. But and you see, I don't
know if you saw the social the video you know
of him go flexing crazy, Okay, but see the thing
is he's got a temper. He will go after his players,
his coaches. And this guy for the Lions told me
last year, because you know he's going to be head coach,

(01:06:54):
you're not gonna have to wait long to see how
he gets along with players. And clearly the talk about
buy and carry, you know it's a former player buy.
It's just ridiculous. It just it's great. And got to
give Ryan Paul's a GM credit who's had sort of
like a checkered career in terms of evaluation, but not anymore.
This right and all those trades he made for offensive Lineman.
People around the league I talked to question it. It

(01:07:14):
sure is working out right now.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
Well, we'll wrap up with this because Ben Johnson interviewed
with a lot of teams.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
He went through a whole cycle and said.

Speaker 13 (01:07:21):
I one down.

Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Yeah, I'm going to go back to the Yeah, going
to go back to the Lions and do his thing.
Why was it the Bears that ultimately he decided, yes,
this is where I want to go.

Speaker 13 (01:07:30):
Well, the personnel, the passing personnel is really good. He
would have a lot of say in what would go on.
He had his control, but he has a lot of say.
And if you look at to work with Caleb Williams,
you know that that's a big deal. That's a good
selling point. I mean they've they've got I mean they
and then they've just added Luther Burden pretty good value

(01:07:51):
the second round at receiver aut of Missouri. He just
staying in the division that he knows if that's really important.
In fact, he talked about the diopening pres conmence when
he got the U. It's just ironic he to go
up against the line. So it's it's a pretty cool
story for a franchise that has been so downtrodden for years,
and look, Kavi Williams has improved greatly in terms of
not taking sacks, good decisions. He's willing to throw the

(01:08:13):
ball over middle now and he's im mentally talented. And
the kid wants to be coached. That's what I was
told from people close the situation. He just got bad
coaching lest year, just calling it like I know, I mean,
it was not good. And you've got an elite coach
who's very demanding. Now, I will tell you as we
see with Jim Harball over time. Sometimes you know, Jim

(01:08:34):
Harball greats on people and he's great coach, when of
the best in NFL history. But he greats on people
and he wears out his welcome. So we'll check back,
you know, over the next two to three years and seem,
you know, if I hear anything, what's going on behind
the scenes. But the buying guy's just ridiculous right now.

Speaker 2 (01:08:50):
Well, it's great to be demanding when you get the
results as early as you get.

Speaker 13 (01:08:54):
Yeah, I mean, look, but not honestly, sometimes guys just
don't buy in, like who is this guy? But this
is pretty significant. It's I have them. I thought they
get eight wins season. I thought that would be pretty
good because I knew the coach will be better. But
this is crazy.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
He's Adam Kaplan, our NFL Insider final at Kaplan NFL
and on the Inside of the Birds podcast, talked to
in week fourteen. Adam, thanks right, Adam, thank you to
see you that he's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. Monci
Belanios is at the news desk. Things winding down, some
teams getting some separation here in this late window.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
What's going on, Manci?

Speaker 8 (01:09:25):
Yeah, the Seahawks continue to just crush the Vikings.

Speaker 9 (01:09:29):
Zach Sharpenay in the end zone.

Speaker 8 (01:09:30):
Seahawks are up twenty six zero with about seven minutes
to go in this one.

Speaker 9 (01:09:37):
Aaron Rodgers looks banged up.

Speaker 8 (01:09:38):
They keeps showing him sitting down with the band aid
over his nose. His nose I think is swollen, right like,
he looks so banged up.

Speaker 9 (01:09:47):
He went back in the game. Right now.

Speaker 8 (01:09:49):
The Bills have the ball. Josh Allen connected with Keon Coleman,
who we know was a healthy scratch for the last
what two games because of you know, maybe not showing
up to meetings or whatnot. But the Bills are up
sixteen to seven right now with about two minutes to go,
and Buffalo has the ball and they're driving downfield, making
their way towards the red zone. The Chargers got in
the end zone again justin Herbert connected with Lad McConkey.

(01:10:10):
So now they're up on the Raiders twenty four to seven.
This is early in the fourth quarter. Some of the
scores that happened earlier today. The Panthers took down the
Rams thirty one to twenty eight, Dolphins survived against the
Saints twenty one seventeen, Texans held on twenty to sixteen
against the Colts, and the Buccaneers defeated the Cardinals twenty
to seventeen. When it comes to college football, Lange Kiffin

(01:10:30):
announced that he was accepting the coaching position at LSU,
but that he's not going to be part of the
College Football the College Football Playoff for the Rebels because
he was denied that request. Michigan State is hiring former
Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald. In the NBA, the Lakers have
ruled out Lebron James and Marcus Smart for their game
tonight against the Pelicans. And in case you missed it,
Carrie Klay Thompson named his boats Stallion after his.

Speaker 9 (01:10:52):
Girl girl friend Megan the Stallion. No, just in case it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Back to you guys, I loveson for drawing back at
Jahn Morant.

Speaker 4 (01:11:03):
And yes, he's going back at everybody right now, Dan,
I seem like everybody's taking their shot to a clay,
which is why, which is why.

Speaker 9 (01:11:10):
Like he's fine. He doesn't have to do anything ever again, never,
never again. But I agree with you, Dan, I'm glad
he said what he said about Johnny.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
I said what a lot of people thought.

Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
Yeah, he's one of the few people that can actually
say it, and it carries that that weight with it.
All Right, it is end Zone Radio here on Fox
Sports Radio. It is the no huddle minute. So for
the next sixty seconds, just kidding, Manzi, just kidding. Hartman's
got the no huddle hour. I thought we could do
the no huddle minute.

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Carry just for.

Speaker 3 (01:11:36):
Sixty seconds, no minute, no huddle minute. The Vikings are
just trying to avoid the shutout. I think I saw
the stat was they haven't been shut out in the
game since two thousand and seven, so trying to add
it at least to put something on the scoreboard. Against
the Seahawks here and the Raiders the last ditch effort

(01:11:57):
to try to stay in their game with the with
the Argers, and it's been all Bills in the second half.
A couple of turnovers by Buffalo made things look like
it could be going Pittsburgh's way, but ultimately Buffalo even
playing shorthanded as their way with the Steelers.

Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
You have your time. Who was the quarterback in two
thousand and seven Foot of Bikens? Then? Oh? Well, gosh
when it was?

Speaker 3 (01:12:20):
When was it would have been posts far it would
have been right before far right, farv would have come
after that.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
Oh man, come on, Dan, I have faith in you. Dan.
You don't, do you know?

Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
I don't know either. No, no, no, I don't. So I
want to I want to see. I forgot. I forgot
who he replaced. Well, Brad Childers was the head coach.
So I'm trying to think of who was who was
the quarterback at that time? I forgot with I thought
he was before that or maybe like in that in
that window.

Speaker 2 (01:12:52):
Do you have it? Monci?

Speaker 8 (01:12:52):
Do you have as various taveris Jackson?

Speaker 3 (01:12:57):
Jackson?

Speaker 2 (01:12:58):
Really for the whole year that was? Are you asking
who was before Brett Farv.

Speaker 14 (01:13:03):
Yeah, I appreciate its for rote.

Speaker 2 (01:13:08):
You know what, I didn't think it was right.

Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
I even like.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Jeopardy at home.

Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
I didn't want to say the answer and embarrass myself
in front of my wife.

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
And then there I was gonna say it. I should
have just said it. Who cares? If you had it?
I knew you had it. That's why I ask you.
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
If I really had it, I would have said it.
I would have said it, But it did pop up
into my mind these carry roads.

Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
I'm dan Byer.

Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
Raiders do have the ball in Chargers territory, but again
down seventeen. Vikings have the football right now against the
Seahawks in Seahawks territory, but again it's a twenty six
nothing lead and the Bills trying to add on to
their lead against the Steelers sixteen to seven. And now

(01:13:56):
Max brosmer was picked off for I believe the fourth time,
my goodness in the game today as Terik Wollen is
going to try to return it, and then he fumbled
the football and it may have just been recovered by Minnesota.
So Brozmerg could be on the field to maybe to
maybe throw a fifth in a session. Find out next
these carrier roads. I'm Dan Byer.

Speaker 2 (01:14:16):
It's en Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
Bills at Steelers.

Speaker 10 (01:14:20):
Alan in the shotgun here with TDD Johnson to is
right on third and goal from the eight.

Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Here's the snap.

Speaker 10 (01:14:25):
Alan gonna keep it, gonna look to bust it outside,
lowers the shoulder, the serge pushing him forward progress. He's
in for the touchdown. The beast has been released as
he goes eight yards for a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
Back to Dan Byer and carry Rhodes.

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
Five point fifty w g R WGR. That is Buffalo
Bill's radio network. So he Bills up twenty three to
seven in that game. In Pittsburgh. Early in the fourth quarter,
the Seahawks just sacked Max bros Mur again on a
fourth down. Sacked him four times today. I've picked them
off four times. One of those returned for a score.

(01:15:05):
It's been all Seahawks twenty six nothing. As they head
to the two minute warning. In Seattle, the Raiders down
seventeen to the Chargers. Facing a second in goal situation,
Geno Smith throws a touchdown pass. A one headed catch
by Brock Bowers makes up for Gino Smith being tripped
on the first and goal from the one, just falling

(01:15:26):
back on his backside, but brock Bauers has his second
touchdown catch of the game. Raiders hanging around. It's twenty
four to thirteen as they play in Los Angeles. I
didn't think there was any way that this ball is caught,
and somehow brock Bauers is able to reel it in.

Speaker 2 (01:15:44):
That's a big time play right there.

Speaker 3 (01:15:45):
Man, I don't know did it hit the turf like
just a little bit, but you can't tell because the
football is no no, oh, come on all you guys.
That's it's not obvious, guys, like you could have the
dark head zone and it's the dark the dark football.

Speaker 14 (01:16:02):
Nope, that's obvious. There was today in the Jets game.
They were like reviewing something that was so obvious. It
was like so obvious, but it took them like two
minutes to review it. And I didn't know why they
did it, and I don't know what took so long,
but whatever's.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
Totally It's totally fine.

Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
Though the review is such a As I said, I
just want the refs to be better, but in a
situation like this, it's like, man, it's just the point
being is the football in the end zone looked very
similar and the ball.

Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
The way it was a crazy catch by Brock Bauers.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
By the way, it's kind of the only thing that
we have going on right now because the Seahawks are
planking the Vikings and the Bills Aaron Rodgers back in
the game, but they're down sixteen. As you heard on
the Bills radio network, he's carry outs. I'm Dan Byer.
Let's go to some get some fantasy misses for Manci.
Bilanio's all right, Mancy, what do you got Listen?

Speaker 8 (01:16:51):
First, Dan, I saw what you saw. I thought the
ball touched the turf. Yeah, I thought it did. I thought,
but it looked like such a good catch. And I'm like, no, no, no,
give them the catch.

Speaker 4 (01:17:00):
You just in one catch it because you're playing charge nobody.

Speaker 9 (01:17:04):
I don't care. I don't care. Oh, you're right, because
we could lose this game. No, you're right. I think
you've done the side. I'm sorry what it was.

Speaker 8 (01:17:09):
It was such a sweet catch though, like one handed
swooped right under it.

Speaker 9 (01:17:14):
Pokin Akua had.

Speaker 8 (01:17:15):
A catch earlier today that was stupid. Yes, oh yes,
but I saw what you saw. Dan, Okay, some of
these misses, guys, two of them are on my team,
so I'm doing great.

Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
All right.

Speaker 8 (01:17:25):
We're gonna start with the quarterbacks to a talk of
my lost struggle today once again four points on the day.
He threw for one hundred and fifty seven yards and
one interception.

Speaker 9 (01:17:35):
Yes, no one.

Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (01:17:36):
Also CJ. Stroud returned today.

Speaker 8 (01:17:38):
Not as bad as to a talk of my law,
but not as great as others as well. In his return,
he got nine points today, throwing for two hundred and
seventy six yards with one interception. When it comes to
the wide receivers, Michael Pittman two.

Speaker 9 (01:17:52):
Points, that's what I got.

Speaker 8 (01:17:54):
Two points, one catch for thirteen yards, Jerry Judy five points,
three catches twenty six yards.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Had a touchdown, the door would have hit him.

Speaker 9 (01:18:03):
Yeah, through them yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:18:06):
And then running backs Travis Etn four points, that's what
you give me, twelve carries twenty eight yards, one catch
for thirteen yards.

Speaker 9 (01:18:15):
And Woody Marx.

Speaker 8 (01:18:16):
This guy's always hurt, Like I feel like I'm always saying,
like Woody Marx is her questionable to return? The same
thing happened today he had It was seven points, nineteen carries,
sixty four.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
To get you those seven points to.

Speaker 8 (01:18:26):
Get you go up to seven seven points. Nineteen carries
for sixty four yards. He also had one catch for
three yards, so that was that's Those are some of
your favorite fantasy misses and I definitely have two of them.

Speaker 3 (01:18:39):
You've got a couple of h Yeah, and that's m
I s SES, not MRS Period Fantasy missus. That's what
we could call you that, right, Yeah, and that's nickname
fantasy myths. Yes, she would be Fantasy miss miss miss
miss fantasy. It's a rough day for a lot of
a lot of players.

Speaker 8 (01:18:59):
Yes, I agree with Yeah, that's like this window of
games we could have some misses.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
Oh yeah, hard missus. Yeah, justin Jefferson.

Speaker 9 (01:19:07):
Easily, Jordan Addison. I don't know what he's doing, your
boy in Jigba in Jigba miss.

Speaker 3 (01:19:12):
I think they purposely the Seahawks did that within Jigba
just in case he breaks Calvin Johnson's record, to be
like he really only did.

Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
It in sixteen games, like I just didn't. He didn't
even know.

Speaker 3 (01:19:23):
He hardly got the football in one of them, So
that would be a way to justify it. By the way,
the Vikings will get the football back down twenty six
with fifty one seconds left to go, and the Seahawks
just pinned them inside their two yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
May you better take a name? You can't even take
a nap?

Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
I like, that's that's how bad it is for Minnesota
right now?

Speaker 8 (01:19:43):
I have Seahawks defense throw the ball so that get
another interception.

Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
Okay, I'm just trying to see who's actually all out
on the field, and it's just tight ends and running backs,
and I think Jalen Naylor ended up coming into the game.
But it's basically, all right, Brosmer, you're gonna take this.
You're gonna sneak and run out the clock like O'Connell,
right quarterback whisper.

Speaker 4 (01:20:05):
I guess it can't whisper to every quarterback, right, you
gotta have talent, I think, right, yes, Well, there's.

Speaker 3 (01:20:13):
A lot to that because and by the way, the
Vikings were able to get a rush up to the
ten yard line, which they have all three other timeouts.
But I think they're just gonna let this one run
out and call it a day. There is something to
that conversation, yeah, Because for a while, Kevin Stefanski was
thought to be the guy, and then now there are
questions on whether Kevin Stefanski is thought to be the guy.

(01:20:34):
I think that Dave can Allis has done a good
job with Carolina. There's so far, so good with all
the Panthers are trined around. But O'Connell could be on that.
Who knows where it goes. But I think that's part
of the discussion that we'll have. Plus you Door Sanders
spoke today. It's all next Don Fox winding digs down
in week thirteen. But things are heating up in Cleveland. Yeah,

(01:20:57):
you're gonna want to hear what happened in the post game. No,
not only on what Shoudoor Sanders had to say, but
also what some Browns players were saying about their opponent
today and the San Francisco forty nine Ers and specifically
wide receiver Juwan Jennings. It is end zone Radio. Hit
carry up at Carrie twenty five ro olds. You can
find me at dan Byer on Fox. You just heard
Manti say the Vikings were shut out today for the

(01:21:19):
first time since two thousand and seven, and Carrie posed
the question. I asked the question, who was the quarterback?
Then I did some research as well, it was not
Gus Farott. It was Tavares Jackson, the late Tavares Jackson,
who started that season and then far ended up taking over.
So even if I would have said Gus Farott, I
then would have been wrong. So it was maybe a

(01:21:40):
good thing that I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:21:42):
Well, that means you had a little warrethal to be like,
I'm not one hundred percent sure and I'm not gonna
throw that out all the mess fact.

Speaker 2 (01:21:49):
Sit on this one.

Speaker 3 (01:21:50):
It's funny though, on how certain years go by and
you try to figure out the benchmark ause you're sitting
there saying, you know, what were the Culpepper years. Yes,
I think the Vikings fans are saying, where are they now?
That's what That's what they're saying when it comes to
the Vikings after today and Sam Donald getting a lot

(01:22:11):
of hugs and handshakes and some love from the Vikings
team and former staffers and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (01:22:19):
That new one.

Speaker 3 (01:22:20):
But yeah, you'd have to think if you're Minnesota, considering
how things went today. Adam Kaplan said they're obviously going
to be in the market for a quarterback next season,
but with JJ McCarthy and concussion protocol, it actually allows
you to appreciate JJ McCarthy a little bit more because
Max Brosmer was under it today in his first rookie start.

Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
Yeah, Max Brosman got sacked four times through four interceptions.
Was not a good day for the Vikings and having
the options that had to be available. But yeah, when
you get to play against your old quarterback or old teammate,
obviously you want to have some success against him. The
Vikings came out, played tough in the beginning, but just
way too many mistakes.

Speaker 3 (01:22:59):
I have a chance to win this game today. He
is Carrier Oads. I'm Dan Byer. We told you that
the Browns that there were headlines in Cleveland should do
or Sanders in start number two did not go as well.
In start number one, sixteen or twenty five one and
forty nine yards, did throw a touchdown to his credit,
did not throw an interception, was sacked three times today.

(01:23:20):
Brown's now three to nine on the season. Should Or
Sanders was asked a specific question about a play call
in the game made by the Brons coaching staff.

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
And this is what Shador had to say to reporters afterwards.

Speaker 1 (01:23:32):
Did you like Kevin Havin?

Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
The addressing miss there.

Speaker 1 (01:23:35):
Even backed up in your care Purkey.

Speaker 12 (01:23:37):
I mean, first, that's a rude question to ask if
I'm if I think, you know, it was a great call,
but my coach, you.

Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Know, like the impression.

Speaker 7 (01:23:45):
Don't you like the call?

Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
Like do you like?

Speaker 12 (01:23:46):
I like being out there playing, So so whenever that comes,
when it comes with, you know, like you know, we're
not going to be here and every point figure out,
no coach are doing anything like that. You know, that's
extremely disrespectful and that's not even in my place. So
I'm thankful for being out there, honestly, and I'm thankful
that he trusts us as an offense to be able

(01:24:06):
to go out there and be able to execute. Do
we execute? No, we didn't, but you know, I'm just
thankful that we have that trust.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
I think it's a good answer.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
I don't know if it called for the reporter to
be called out for it, but I think that everything
that fell into place, and Tommy Reese offensive coordinator's taken
over the play calling. It's Kevin Stefanski's decision as head
coach ultimately on what to do in situations and going
for it on fourth downs and whatnot. But Shoudor is
standing up for the coaches, and then I thought what

(01:24:37):
he said afterwards was very professional and a different tone
of maybe what we've heard another press conference.

Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
I just an agree.

Speaker 4 (01:24:45):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's the approach that he needs
to have from here on out. And I think for
him to come out and stand up for the coaching staff,
the guys who are gonna eventually have to be in
your corner for you to succeed, it's the best possible
thing for him right now.

Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
So should the report said, and it's actually something that
Adam Kaplan has said previously to us here on Fox
Sports Radio that yeah, Shador is going to get the
the ultimate look here when it comes to the Browns,
where when Dylan Gabriel was cleared from concussion protocol, which
he has been he actually took a took a snap

(01:25:20):
today that it's going to be Shouldor's job. But I
guess that's just kind of my question to you, carry
is what does Shador. Does Shador have a chance in
this scenario of giving himself a shot to be the
quarterback next year or to be in contention for the
job next year if you're the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 4 (01:25:39):
The only chance he has to do that is if
they take the hand cuffs off and let him play,
they're being strategic and they're trying to play complimentary football,
which we talked about with the team that's not good,
not going to make the playoffs. Like right now, you
want to see if you have that guy that can
be your fronchise guy right now, like, really take the
hand cults off, let him throw the ball, let him

(01:26:00):
make checks, let him do all the things he needs
to do to prove that he is that guy. And
even if he isn't and you get to see that,
that's perfectly fine. But if he is, then you're going
to have to put stack your chips all in on that.
Or the other option is the other thirty one teams
get to see him do that as well and get
to take a chance on it if they want that
as well. But the way they're hendling their quarterback situation

(01:26:22):
post Flocco, none of those guys are going to be
able to show what they really have.

Speaker 2 (01:26:26):
So I don't know, would you consider Deshaun Watson?

Speaker 3 (01:26:30):
I forgot about the US, you know, I mean there's
looking into the twenty twenty six draft. Yeah, we had
thought it was going to be great for quarterbacks, and
then the college football season happened, and now it's not
going to be great.

Speaker 2 (01:26:41):
They're all trash. Yeah, yeah, I think it's fair enough.
And this is a team that has two first round picks.

Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
Remember they made the trade with Cleveland or with Jacksonville
so Jacksonville could get Travis Hunter. So they're going to
have two first round picks. You're gonna have some ammunition.
But I don't I don't know if that's the spot
to do it. And honestly, I think that you've seen
Dylan Gabriel shouldn't have been a third round pick like
he shouldn't have been, And I think you know what

(01:27:08):
you're going to have with Dylan Gabriel. To your point
about Shador, you don't know if you're gonna have Shador,
But I don't know if you can just completely start
from scratch. If you're Cleveland, I think that I think
that Watson becomes an option for them. I don't know
the entire salary ramifications, but I mean, I think Shaudor

(01:27:29):
could be an option. But I don't think it's going
to be a situation where JJ McCarthy is going to
have a chance at winning his job next year with competition.
I don't think that it would be an even competition
that it would be Shador's job to lose in Cleveland,
is my point.

Speaker 4 (01:27:43):
No, not at this point. No, And I think until
we get to see it, like, we won't know. I mean,
obviously they have some type of idea they see him
ey day in practice right, which we don't get that luxury.
So we can only get the only luxury that were
afford it is actually watching the games. And so if
they're going to play the way they playing now, that
is not gonna be put out there.

Speaker 3 (01:28:01):
I don't think we're gonna se Yeah, I don't think
we'renna see in the next five games, even if you
open it up. I don't think you're gonna have enough
of a sample size to be Shadour is our guy.
I don't think you're you're going to see that. Who
did I play well their last five games?

Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
Dan, I can bring it up here quick.

Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
But there's of for the bronze have They've got the
Titans next week, They've got the Bears, Bills, Steelers, and Bengals.
So you've got I mean, you got the Titans, You've
got the Bengals, you know, teams that you can make
hay against, but the uh maybe against the Steelers, who knows.

Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
I mean, it's tough times in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
But the I you just I don't think you're like,
you know, like with JJ McCarthy, like he's going to
compete for the job, just like Anthony Richardson was in
the competition for Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Because they have rich guys.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
Yeah, and it's you don't have that with Shadoor you
have a fifth round pick. Yeah, And maybe now backfires
that he didn't get enough of the exposure because you're
not necessarily going to have as much of a look
at him as.

Speaker 2 (01:29:03):
You would have had those other quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (01:29:05):
But I just, yeah, I think, I honestly think Deshaun
Watson could be their their best option for twenty twenty six.

Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
That would be insane to me, and you probably you may,
you may there is some truth to that, but man,
I don't know that's a good point.

Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Dan.

Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
The Ton Watson question, I guess scenario is always at play.
He's still there and obviously at his best he was one,
He's one of the top guys at that time, and
then all of a sudden that fall off happened after
the injuries and going there, it's just the layoff.

Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
The layoff happened, which is just hard.

Speaker 3 (01:29:36):
Yeah, I just look at it this way, and I
want to get to this sound by Shelby Harris of
the Browns, because there's a total separate story going on
with Cleveland and what happened in today's game against the
forty nine ers. But think about this, if you're if
you're Cleveland, you can have schadors start next year. Maybe
that's a good enough option. Maybe that's the option to
have a full off season of being the guy. If

(01:29:58):
you bring in competition for him, that's not a guarantee.

Speaker 2 (01:30:02):
You're not probably going to draft.

Speaker 3 (01:30:04):
Someone unless it was a first round pick, And the
quarterback pool that we're going to get in the first
round is not going to be great. So now you're
kind of going through the same process that you've just
gone through with Dylan Gabriel and should or Sanders without
getting a clear answer on who your quarterback is. Or
you have this guy that for some reason you gave
tons and tons of money to that's coming back from
an achilles injury that ultimately may end up just being

(01:30:27):
your option.

Speaker 4 (01:30:28):
And true and the thing is, and we've talked about
what I've talked about it, and we've talked about in
the show, Dan, like they have so much defensive talent
and now they got a running back in Quinton and Junkins.
Like if you had a quarterback that played like Desaun
Watson played in Houston, this team would be right, you know,
Like it's just it's I don't know, Dan, Yes to

(01:30:49):
go with Shay Moganguard, our executive producer, what do you got?

Speaker 14 (01:30:53):
Yeah, So I'm looking at cap hits and just kind
of like what would happen if he was to stay,
like not get cut next year. First off, I don't
think it would even be smart for them to cut
him next year because his DeShawn you're talking yeah to Sean,
his cap hit is eighty one million, and then like
a post six to one cut doesn't really save any
of that since it's fully guaranteed. So there might be
like significant savings when it comes to like insurance and

(01:31:14):
all that. But like over the cap you're probably looking
like if they were to cut him, it would be
post like June first, twenty twenty seven, so he really
has a real chance of starting next year.

Speaker 2 (01:31:24):
We can definitely see it.

Speaker 3 (01:31:25):
Yeah, if he was a post June cut, you can
spread out the exactly money you know, over the two years,
but that if you're gonna pay him, you might as
well use them, yeah, right, if there's no other better option.
So I also think Deshaun Watson going on these road
trips and like being there last week in Las Vegas
tells us he's maybe more of a part of the
team than maybe we think he is.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
But he has been there.

Speaker 3 (01:31:47):
But that could ultimately end up, you know, being their
best option in Cleveland now today in Cleveland, there was
also a scenario that happened with the San Francisco forty
nine Ers, and for the second straight week, there's controversy
involving forty nine Ers wide receiver Juwan Jennings. We saw
what happened at the end of last week's game with
the Carolina Panthers. Trevon Merrik was suspended one game for

(01:32:11):
hitting Juwan Jennings and then you know what after the
game or near the end of the game, And it
was after the game that Juwan Jennings then went after
Merk and we had saw the video of why is
Juwan Jennings so mad? Well, the Cleveland Browns have a
theory on why things may have gotten to the point
that they did with the Panthers and forty nine ers

(01:32:31):
last week. This is Brown's veteran defensive lineman, Shelby Harris.

Speaker 11 (01:32:35):
He's a hoe and I want that known. Like I
see why he got punched in the nuts, because that's
like he said some things that you should not say
to another man ever, But like I don't respect it
because you say that I didn't run behind.

Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
Your own line.

Speaker 11 (01:32:47):
That's some real soft short and I want that know.
I see exactly why they punched the nuts. I'm surprised
nobody punched them in the jaw.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
Yet, how about he was hot? What what's all limits?
What's off limits? Like?

Speaker 3 (01:33:01):
What is so off limits that Shelby Harris is saying that,
I'm not asking for specifics.

Speaker 2 (01:33:07):
You're going to keep it clean. I know that. But
what would make another.

Speaker 3 (01:33:10):
Professional football player say that about another professional football player?

Speaker 4 (01:33:17):
Female dogs Maybe could be one of those things. Something
about a spouse or a partner, mom, mom things, There's
there's those. Those would be like the top three I
would think. And that's what I used to say.

Speaker 14 (01:33:36):
You say, that's what carries I'm I used to say
to playing.

Speaker 4 (01:33:42):
No, no, I didn't talk. I killed him with kindness.
With kindness, Shay, I believe that exactly he did that
to me once was during a commercial break.

Speaker 3 (01:33:53):
What I do for the chin. I think that there
is stuff that probably ross lines. There may have been
who knows, there may have been research by Juwan Jennings.
You know, players do research on players and find out
other stuff. But maybe not if you was if a
defensive lineman's hearing stuff. But I would venture to think
that if that's what you think crossed the line, then

(01:34:15):
that's what he was talking about there. Also, Shait was
an injured player at one point that and some jawing
was going on. Yeah, according to h to the report
from ESPN that maybe Juwan Jennings was saying these words
while a player was injured, I would also think that
that wouldn't go over well.

Speaker 4 (01:34:34):
But Dan, like, it's not being sensitive like words and stuff.
For the most part with me, it just wouldn't rattle me.
So like the fact that people get worked up over
certain things like that. Obviously you're not going to fight
out there, you don't hailments, and like if you want
to handle your business outside of that after the game
and like in the tunnel and whatever that is that's happened.

(01:34:55):
I've went up to players at the game and said
something or like, there's situations that can happen if you
really want to squabble, you really want to do that,
that's all doesn't really matter.

Speaker 3 (01:35:04):
Okay, what about Lane Kiffin going up and confronting the reporter.
Did you see that pet petty? It was petty by
Kiffen to call out the broadcast petty and corny.

Speaker 2 (01:35:15):
Really I do, But isn't that what you're saying?

Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
Like Kiffin's like, hey, let's talk about it behind the
wall or behind door closed doors.

Speaker 4 (01:35:22):
Kiffin's digging his own grave though, Like this is stuff
that he's doing. So if somebody wants to confront you
about it then in front of him.

Speaker 3 (01:35:29):
Did you see the Josh Gitty video where he had
some fans kicking out, Yeah, that's petty by the fans,
the response or by by Gitty bye, that's petty by Kitty, Yes,
the response by what was that shay.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
Like Josh Gittty's response to all of it?

Speaker 3 (01:35:44):
Uh afterwards, No, I just saw the video of him getting.

Speaker 2 (01:35:47):
The saying you don't know what you're talking about. He
was talking to the to the fans, yeah, Patty.

Speaker 3 (01:35:53):
But the whole point is this is that the fans, yes,
the fan, the fan that's yelling to Josh Gitty, Juwan Jennings,
the blogger all set it in protected areas like we
coming here. Will criticize people, and there may be something
that a player takes a completely wrong way. But when
you're saying stuff out of bounds because you know, you

(01:36:15):
can't like you know, like if you're like, I don't
have a problem with Josh Giddy confronting a fan for
saying what he was saying because the fan knows that
he can't do anything. You even heard other fans going
around saying you can't.

Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
He didn't do anything. You didn't do anything. No, the
fan knew exactly what he was doing.

Speaker 3 (01:36:31):
That's why he was being, you know, such a you
know what about it and being arrogant saying stuff on
a blog.

Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
The one thing I will.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
Say about the Kiffin situation is the reporter said, I
wasn't We weren't calling you a ho.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
We were comparing what you were doing was like a hoe.

Speaker 3 (01:36:49):
In a house. The difference between a whole and a housewife.
I don't know if that makes any better, but I
will say is the guy was there to stand up
for what was said. Yes, so that it's just my issue.
Is Juwan Jennings wanting to fight people when helmets are on? Yeah,
that's what I think is is lame because.

Speaker 4 (01:37:07):
We can talking about the Sacramento thing with the fan
with Levine, right, that's like that's petty on living Like
I don't understand those situations for me.

Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
Sure did you think he should have gotten kicked out?

Speaker 4 (01:37:17):
Then now there's a season ticket, he's telling Levine to
play defense insane and he wants them kicked out the game,
like it's petty.

Speaker 3 (01:37:25):
That's different than what you know you're yelling at Josh
Giddy though he talked about the it was a personal
like yeah, yeah, that's what I mean. And that's what
Shelby Harris is probably saying about Juwan Jennings of saying
like these personal things like you shouldn't you shouldn't be
thrown up for heckling. But there there are limits and
people know what they're doing and they think that they

(01:37:46):
can get away with it because they're in certain situations
are going to hold up a phone and say what
are you going to do about it? And it's one
of the most annoying things about this culture is because
it is it feels like it is a culture of what.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Are you going to do? What are you gonna do?

Speaker 14 (01:38:00):
The Kits tried giving a fist bump to Giddy when
he walked up to him, Like, why am I going
to give you a fist pump right now?

Speaker 6 (01:38:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:38:05):
It was insane. It was insane.

Speaker 3 (01:38:06):
Do you ever see the old clip of Kevin Durant
when he runs out on the court of the Mavericks
game and the two fans call him a B word
and then he turns around and stops and they want
to give him a high fivete On their podcast What
True Story, they invited him like hey.

Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
Come on, and he's like, what are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (01:38:22):
Like they thought it was playful to sit there and
call someone a name, you know, and then when he
comes to confront, so you want to be all cool, Yeah,
just damn, come on, podcast, what are you talking about?

Speaker 11 (01:38:34):
Like?

Speaker 3 (01:38:34):
As I said, like, we sit in this chair, you're
a former player, I'm a host. We're trying to analyze
what we said. I don't think we ever get personal
in this, and there's things that people will get personal
and feel that they're immune from from any sort of repercussion.
And I think that's also what Shelby Harris is saying here.
Is Juwan Jennings is saying thing that saying things that

(01:38:55):
are crossing the line. And he's wearing a helmet, and
now you see why people are doing this stuff that
they're doing.

Speaker 4 (01:39:00):
And that's my point, Dan, And if Shelby wants to
go up and let him know this, he doesn't have
to let everybody else know this.

Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
That's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:39:07):
I mean, I know he's he's in the heat of
the moment and want to tell the world or whatever
and kind of get some vindication there. But no, just
go handle it like a man. If you want to
go see that guy, go see that guy. That's my
whole thing. He's carry roads. I'm Dan Byer. It's a rap.

Speaker 3 (01:39:20):
The Bills have beaten the Steelers twenty six to seven,
So that puts an end to our late window here
in Week thirteen. Big win for Buffalo and a tough
one for the Steelers, and no one may be more
excited than Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals to Carry's
point of Cincinnati. Now really in the thick of it,
they beat the Ravens and the Steelers lose.

Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:39:41):
What a week.

Speaker 3 (01:39:41):

Carry at Kerry twenty five Roads. You can find me

(01:40:02):
at Dan Byer on Fox. Carry will break down a
key play from today's game, plus a look ahead of
what's at stake not only for the rest of week thirteen,
but what's on tap in week fourteen is there's a big,
big game coming up on Thursday night. That's next year.
On Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
Back to Dan Bayer and Carry Rhodes.

Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
It's End Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio. Waiting kickoff
between the Commanders and Broncos. Still know Jayden Daniels, but
he could be coming Max sooner rather than later. For Washington.
The last time we saw Daniels was in primetime football
suffering that elbow injury. But it's going to be Marcus
Mariota's show is Bonix and the Broncos takeout Washington. He

(01:40:43):
is carry Rhoads. Hit him up at Kerry twenty five Roads.
You can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. Colts
lose to the Texans today. I think that's a big
one as things are shaping out in the AFC. Bill's
end up winning in Pittsburgh. I asked the crew around
here at Fox Sports Radio, and I just go back
to the great slate of games that we had on Thanksgiving, Carrie,

(01:41:05):
but I said, what's the biggest takeaway that you guys
think that that we've seen in Week thirteen so far?
And the consensus and I would agree because it changes
the top of the NFC and it also changes the bottom.
I think the Colts lost at home to the Texans
maybe on an overall more of a bigger play. But

(01:41:27):
for the people that I asked, it was the Panthers
beating the Rams today as the outcome that probably grabs
the headlines in Week thirteen. So Carrie, let's focus on
that and break it down in a segment we like
to call So those Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Rams
were playing in the fourth quarter with six forty four left.
The Rams were up twenty eight to twenty four. Carolina

(01:41:49):
facing a fourth and two from the Rams forty three
yard line.

Speaker 15 (01:41:54):
It's fourth to two from the LA forty three. Rams
crowded the line of scrimt for the one high safety look.
Bryce off play action, has time of the pocket, throws
down field.

Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
For McMillan, makes the touch of the twenty.

Speaker 1 (01:42:06):
He's got the ton the.

Speaker 6 (01:42:07):
Five touchdown tay back touchdown.

Speaker 15 (01:42:11):
Carolina had the Panthers take the lead.

Speaker 1 (01:42:15):
What's six thirty four.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
To go there?

Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
You heard it on the Panthers radio network carry. How
did it go down for Carolina?

Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
We've had the Panthers line up on the center with
bry Schong and a two x two snug personnel eleven personnel.

Speaker 2 (01:42:28):
Look.

Speaker 4 (01:42:29):
We get motion over to it to draw the attention
of that corner down at the bottom and make them
do some communication. They get the communication passed off, but
Brycejong has enough time here for McMillan to come all
the way across of feeling that snug look and I
think that's the key. In that formation, he wouldn't be
able to get there if he's in the normal split.
When you reduce that split, he's able to get all

(01:42:50):
the way of costs. Bryce Shong manipulated the pocket enough
to get time, throws a perfect pass, a perfect level
touch pass over the top for a big play for
Carolina in a game that we're back and forth, and
the Panthers showed a lot of grit to get this
big play to go ahead touchdown here with six minutes
left against the Rams.

Speaker 3 (01:43:07):
Now, I'll tell you I did not expect a big
play in this scenario. Yeah, it doesn't seem like the
Rams did either. Are the Rams defending the two yards
that they need to protect in this situation? Is Ted
McMillan getting behind the defender the last thing on their mind?

Speaker 4 (01:43:22):
Yeah, I mean on fourth and two, you're definitely trying
to stop the team from getting the first down. But
in this situation here, where like I said, Brycejong was
able to get enough time that deep over route that
he threw the touchdown for, that's not the primary option here.
He's trying to get that back out that receiver that
motion's over out to the flat, but they passed it
off here with the Rams, the way that Bryce Young

(01:43:44):
manipulated the pocket there to get time to go ahead
for the home run shot was due to him being
able to manipulate the pocket.

Speaker 2 (01:43:51):
I tell you why.

Speaker 3 (01:43:51):
I also think he had time because the Rams appeared
to look like they were rushing five or six but
really only rushed three in this situation that ultimately maybe
came to burn them because they had a couple of
guys drop off in coverage that appeared to rush it.

Speaker 2 (01:44:06):
Yeah, I think that goes hand in hand, Dan.

Speaker 4 (01:44:08):
I think a lot of times when you see good
secondary play, a lot of times it's because of the
front and because of the rush and because the quarterback
doesn't have enough time to see the whole field. But
here with bry Soong doing that and being able to
buy time, you get the home run ball and then.

Speaker 1 (01:44:22):
Put them up for good and that fast times with
Carrie Rhodes.

Speaker 3 (01:44:27):
Matthew Stafford had an opportunity to bring the Rams back
and either tie the game with a field goal they
were down thirty one to twenty eight so or maybe
even throw that go ahead touchdown pass. He ends up
getting sacked and fumbled, turns it over and Carolina is
able to convert and end up running out the clock.
So a huge, huge play and then the Carolina defense
making one themselves to force the turnover.

Speaker 4 (01:44:48):
He was playing crucial turnover by Matthew Stafford. Obviously you
can't take a sack there. He did get sacked. But
if you do get sacked, hold on to the ball
so you can at least attempt a game time field goal.

Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
Is Carolina any con discerned to you? At seven and
six right now in the ten spot? They've got a
buy coming up next week? The final bye week comes
up in week fourteen. They're one of the teams with
that buy forty nine ers or another squad sitting there
at nine to four in that final wildcard spot. Yeah,
but Tampa Bay is sitting there seven and five. Didn't
necessarily separate. Is Carolina a team that you're concerned about

(01:45:23):
that you think could do some damage or are they
just right now.

Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
A good story in the NFL? Right now, they're a
good story.

Speaker 4 (01:45:29):
I mean, if they can win this division, which we
didn't think that was possible, but now it is possible.
So they have a chance to win a division. I
think it's only going to be one team out the
NFC South to make it. And so right now doing
the thick of it, it's a good story. I mean,
we me and Mansi and we talk about we joke
about Bryce Young being our quarterback. But I think he's
playing better. He's had some off moments. But right now,

(01:45:52):
you got four games left. What he said, you got
four games left, you got a chance to win it.
So let's see if they can make it happen.

Speaker 3 (01:45:57):
It is interesting when you look at the teams in
the NFL and the NFC South playing the NFC West
this year, so you're seeing the team's crossover in games.
But Carolina their strength of their victories is a winning
percentage of four to seventy six. When you look at
the Seahawks, the Seahawks are nine to three. The winning

(01:46:19):
percentage of the teams they've beaten this three forty six. Yeah,
the forty nine Ers three eighty five, the Packers three
seventy nine. The Cowboys, for as great of a feel
good story as they're becoming, three point thirty eight, is
there where they're getting their wins. So they're beating the
bad teams and this comes again you got to beat
who's on your schedule. This isn't college football. You're not
looking at resumes. But the NFC West was able to

(01:46:42):
take advantage of we thought and maybe an easier schedule
this year. But the Panthers have been able to step up.
They've got a game with the Seahawks coming up in
Carolina and their wins.

Speaker 2 (01:46:54):
I mean, when you.

Speaker 3 (01:46:54):
Beat the Rams, that's going to help that strength of
victory percentage for sure, But it's not easy on a
short week to fly back from San Francisco after you
were dominated and come and put forth together that effort
when you're down a couple of key pieces. Jac Horn
didn't play for them today. It's a really good win
for Carolina.

Speaker 4 (01:47:11):
This is a great win for Carolina, and they could
have easily laid it down after Sunday. You know, they
played another NFC West team, a team that was up
in the top in the forty nine ers and don't
play a great game at all.

Speaker 2 (01:47:23):
That was Monday. Nice. Sorry, and then you come back
and then.

Speaker 4 (01:47:25):
You able in the short week come back home, refocus
after bry Song didn't play well in their Money Night game,
to come back and make the throws he made today.

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
It was big time.

Speaker 3 (01:47:33):
And we may sit there and say they have a
chance at the wild card, but to Carry's point, it's
all about the NFC South. And you play the Buccaneers
in Week sixteen and then in week eighteen, so you're
gonna see that played it all this year. You got
the Saints coming up after that bye week, the division game,
but still that's a game that you should win. Even
though you lost at home to New Orleans earlier this season,

(01:47:53):
you would think that there'd be even more reason for
Carolina to go and try to win that football game.
And then the contest I mentioned against Seattle. Let's go
to the news desk, Moncey Milanios giving us so all
we need to know about what's happened in week thirteen
and what's happening in college football today.

Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
What's going on? Manzi?

Speaker 8 (01:48:08):
Yeah, give it up for the Panthers after having that
rough Monday night game, coming out and giving it to
the Rams because of that loss to that LA loss,
the Bears are now first place in the NFC.

Speaker 9 (01:48:20):
Just like we all thought at this point, no Bears,
No Bears.

Speaker 3 (01:48:24):
We gave a lot of love the Carolina Mike, but
he apparently was on a competing show today. Can you
believe Yeah, Monzi just gave me that look, yes, could
you believe that?

Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
Yeah, I'll just leave it at that. It was a
little disappointing, how rude. Disappointing, but how rude.

Speaker 9 (01:48:41):
I did not know that, very very disappointing. Not gonna lie,
but yeah, give it up for the Panthers for this win.

Speaker 8 (01:48:46):
We'll start with the games that kind of just wrapped
up the most recent games. The Seahawks improved to nine
and three. They shut out the Vikings twenty six zero.
Max Brosmer, the rookie who started from Minnesota today, was
nineteen of thirty for one hundred twenty six yards and
four interceptions in this one. The Vikings have not been
shut out since two thousand and seven, which you guys
were talking about. The Bills improved to eight and four.

(01:49:09):
They defeated the Steelers twenty six to seven. Josh Allen
with his seventy six career rushing touchdown in this one.
That's the most by any quarterback in NFL history. Aaron
Rodgers took a hard hit, bloody nose, came back into
the game, but he was ten of twenty one for
one hundred and seventeen yards in the loss. The Chargers
improved to eight and four. They outscored the Raiders thirty
one to fourteen. Kimani Vedell twenty five carries, one hundred

(01:49:32):
and twenty six yards and a touchdown for LA. The
forty nine Ers cruise passed the Browns twenty six to eight.
No problem should Dors Sanders and this one was sixteen
of twenty five one hundred and forty nine yards in
a touchdown. Kevin Stefanski already announced that he's going to
be the starter for a Week fourteen against the Titans.
Buccaneers are now seven and five. They held on twenty
to seventeen against the Cardinals. Texans are seven and five.

(01:49:55):
They took down the Colts twenty to sixteen.

Speaker 9 (01:49:57):
CJ.

Speaker 8 (01:49:58):
Stroud in his return twenty two of thirt five two
hundred and seventy six yards and one interception also saw
Sgardner left the game after a non contact injury.

Speaker 9 (01:50:05):
For the Colts.

Speaker 8 (01:50:06):
They don't think it's an achilles injury. They think it's
a calf injury. Obviously, the MRI is going to confirm
the diagnosis, but they don't think it's as bad as
their originally thought. Jaguars right now eight and four, they
roll past the Times twenty five to three. Dolphins survived
twenty one to seventeen against the Saints.

Speaker 9 (01:50:23):
They're now five and seven.

Speaker 8 (01:50:25):
The Jets walked it off with the fifty six yard
field goal to defeat the Falcons twenty seven to twenty four,
where B John Robinson had twenty three carries one hundred
and forty two yards plus one touchdown five catches for
fifty one yards, so he was all over the place
and did not get the win. In college football, lang
Kiffin did announce today finally he accepted the head coaching
position at LSU and that he wanted to finish this

(01:50:47):
historic season and stay through the playoffs, but that request
was denied by athletic director Keith Carter. Rebels defensive coordinator
Pete Golding is expected to be their new head coach.
Michigan State has fired Jonathan Smith after two seasons, and
they're planning on hiring a former Northwestern coach, Pat Fitzgerald.
Auburn has hired South Florida as Alex Golish, and Florida

(01:51:07):
is hiring Tulane's John Summerl as their next head coach.

Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
Interesting little I was going to say a game of
musical chairs there, because there was a lot of hype
about summer All going to Auburn. He ends up going
then to Gainesville instead. The return of Pat Fitzgerald to
the Big Ten not in the spot that we thought.
But the Lank Kiffin's story continues to be a story.
And in that case, Carrie, I'm going to ask you,

(01:51:34):
as a former college player, do the players have any sake?
Because Monty, there were reports that the players had wanted Kiffen,
that they had guarded support for him to stay on
during this playoffs. Great clarification, because you know to your point,
Monzy was on it right away that he named names
in pointing out that it was Keith Carter who made

(01:51:55):
the decision to not allow him to coach in the
College Football Playoff. If they end up making it, which
they should, they should be hosting a first round game
as well. But how would you feel about Lane Kiffen
staying or going if he was ultimately going.

Speaker 2 (01:52:09):
I tell Lane Kiffin to kick rocks.

Speaker 9 (01:52:11):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 4 (01:52:14):
If you want to leave and you don't want to
coach us and take us to the promised Land that
we've all worked so hard in this offseason, in this season,
through adversity, all the things that as a coaching staff
you're telling these kids that they need to buy into,
and then you jump ship on the first shiny rocket
that appears.

Speaker 3 (01:52:29):
No, bye, see you later, simple as that. That's it,
not even an understanding. And today's day in a no,
I wondered if that was gonna if that was going
to blend in because we had talked so much. Coaches
can leave, players can't leave, Coaches get paid, players don't
get paid.

Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
Now it's different.

Speaker 3 (01:52:45):
Players can get paid, players can leave, coaches can do
the same. And I wondered if there was ever going
to be a blending of it. And you're saying, in
this situation, no, not the case.

Speaker 4 (01:52:54):
And it's a good point you said, Dn, like maybe
the players nowadays may have a little bit more of
a soft spot like when I played, though we had
just just for example, like we had John hille Smith.
He was we heard we heard rumors that he was
going to go to Misigan State, and you know that
last Bowl game, We're like, I don't if.

Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
He's gone, I don't want to play with that guy.

Speaker 4 (01:53:13):
We don't have that flexibility to just jump ship and go,
and now these players do, so maybe there is a
little difference there when it comes to that.

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Who do you think would have more of a problem.
Do you think LSU would have had a problem with
Lane Kiffin coaching throughout this playoff run if he's coaching
into January, if they're winning games, do you think that
they would have had an issue with it.

Speaker 2 (01:53:32):
That's a good point.

Speaker 3 (01:53:35):
I think they totally would have. Probably, I think that
they they totally would have. And I think that if
if Old Miss loses their opening game after being as
good as they were all season long, that it's easy
to put it on lane Kiffin. Now they kind of
if they lose, it's going to be lane Kiffin's fault anyway,
but that it would be pointed at him that maybe

(01:53:57):
he was, you know, having you know, trying to be
in two spot at one time that wasn't feasible. I
get it, I get exactly, I get exactly what you're saying.
I just it's the timing can't be perfect on everything.
And for Lane Kiffen, who I will give credit has

(01:54:18):
worked his way back, he probably got too much too
soon and has worked his way back and earned the
opportunity to do so, to be able to take that job.
I just I understand the hurt feelings. I understand all
of it. Yeah, it's just the timing doesn't work out,
and the timing stinks. So I can't Ultimately, I can't

(01:54:40):
blame Lane Kiffin because that's the world of college athletics.

Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
Oh no, that's not about blame. I don't blame on me.
He can do what he like a lot of people are.
I think he's going to be roasted tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (01:54:50):
Especially especially because of what we saw today. We were
just talking about Rams getting upset by Carolina. You know,
it doesn't necessarily car carry as a you know, a
long story or one that's going to captivate the country.
Colts losing at home to the Texans not one that
spans the entire country. Lane Kiffin leaving a team for

(01:55:12):
another team in your own conference is relatable everywhere. And
I think Lane kiffn is going to be roasted tomorrow
by everyone saying that he made a bad decision and
he turned his back on his players, and they're going
to call him names. That's what tomorrow is going to be.
And I just I just try to live in reality.
And the reality is there wasn't an opportunity for him

(01:55:34):
to coach if he wanted to be the LSU head coach.
And if he wants to be the LSU head coach,
go be the LSU head coach one.

Speaker 2 (01:55:41):
But don't say that players are wanting you to stay
the to coach either.

Speaker 4 (01:55:44):
Sure, that's the point, So you can't have it both ways.

Speaker 2 (01:55:48):
That's what it is. That's that simple.

Speaker 3 (01:55:49):
The drama, the drama he has. Carrie owns I'm dan Byer.

Speaker 8 (01:56:32):
Hi, guys, this just in multiple reports Apparently, Jim Harbaugh
told the media after that Justin Herbert has.

Speaker 9 (01:56:38):
A break in his left hand. He will have surgery tomorrow.

Speaker 8 (01:56:42):

said that they're not sure, and they're gonna see how
the week goes. They have Monday Night football next week
against the Eagles.

Speaker 3 (01:56:51):
