Speaker 2 (00:15):
We got you guys trapped for the next three hours. Sorry,
but I think we got a good show for you.
Mike Sando from The Athletic will be on. Plus we'll
have some stranger than fiction the NFL six pack two
on two off. It is a fully loaded FNA show
here on FSR.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Yes, before we get the first off, just a couple
of upsets in college football on Friday night. We have
a game going on at the as a matter of fact,
right now in the final seconds at Oregon State.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Maybe another overtime potentially.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Yeah, Florida State, number eight in the country, going down
earlier on Friday night to Virginia of all teams, Tony
Elliott squad coming up with a huge victory.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
There was that one of the best field rushes you
had ever seen, timing wise, and also the massive humanity
of core. But just as soon as the play was over, boom.
They were right on top of it.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, and I don't know if the ACC has the
same rules as the SEC does when it comes to
field storming. The SEC will find schools I think to
a million million dollars or something like that, depending on
how many violations they've had. It is a pretty polarizing
topic for a lot of people whether or not you
should field storm and all that. I mean, if you
have the proper security in place, which most of the
time the schools don't. In the in the grand scheme
(01:25):
of things, I don't have the biggest issue with it.
But the problem is when it's just a sea of
people out there, a lot of people can end up
get getting hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Yeah, good luck regulating that. Regulators mounting up and turn
the other way, because you're not stopping this. Now. I've
seen worse at the professional level, not in the NFL,
in the NBA. This was back in nineteen eighty eight.
That's when the Lakers took down the Pistons. I believe,
(01:51):
I think seven Games Systems got them The next year
in eighty nine, went back to back beat Portland. After that,
when they won Game seven at the Forum in eighty eight,
Bill Lamber actually like has a three point shot. I
think that could have tied the game right and the crowd,
the LA crowd just stormed the court. They played defense
(02:15):
for their Lakers. I'm telling you.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
You watch that now and it's like, what is this?
O couldn't happen to a nicer squad? The Detroit Piston
Bad Boys teams. I really don't have much sympathy for them,
to be honest with you.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Where's where's the rules? Here's where's the velvet gate to
stop these fans from controlling the ball game?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Who needs rules? Where were the rules when Kurt Rambas
got closelined?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Where were the rules when Bill Lambier got called for
that phantom foul? I'm Kareem abdul Jabbar on that hook
shot in that series.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Isaiah Thomas would go down. First of all, the reason
he's become so underrated is not just because MJ hated
him and that was magnified in the last dance. The
reason was he scored I think twenty four points in
that game, six on the back an ankle, and they
ended up losing that game. I think that was the
(03:05):
Bill Lambert foul on kream Abdul Jabbar. I can't remember
for certain, a little bit before my time. But if
he wins that game, they win the championship. And that's
the all time most clutch performance maybe ever twenty four
in a fourth quarter to win the NBA Finals. That's
(03:25):
why Isaiah Thomas gets forgotten.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Sometimes Michael Jordan will still make you forget that and
make you remember his Utah Jazz push off on Byron
Russell Oh push off and.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
The flu game, you know, and not being on the
Dream Team because MJ didn't want.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
One with with. By the way, Isaiah Thomas's head coach
as the coach of the Dream Team, which makes it
even more funny.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
That's a great point. That's how much power MJ was wielding.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
But enough about us waxing nostalgic about the nineteen eighties NBA.
Although we love doing that, I think it's time for
us to get the first off and talk about some
NFL quarterback headlines there at him.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Still, that's wrong. What are the headlines on the starting quarterback?
We got a few of them. Yeah, a new starting quarterback?
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Yeah, funny you ask pob. So the New York Giants
make a change at quarterback. They are benching Russell Wilson,
he the ex Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Feels like such a long time ago that happened.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
It really does, doesn't it.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
And he probably should have went He should have went
back to back not probably no problems about it.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Well, I mean we could talk about the play call.
He was the one who threw the ball and got
picked off. I mean he didn't have to throw it.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Mal coome Butler, Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
It does fall on him. So the Giants are beinching
Russell Wilson beg and starting rookie Jackson Dart at quarterback,
and many people asking the question Adham, I guess the
obvious why is because Russell Wilson has not been good
outside of against the Dallas defense, which who hasn't been
So I don't know how much you can really judge
off of that.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
If they were one and two, were they making this move?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
I don't think so. Test with you. I think he
might still be in there right now.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
I think he'd be holding on and they'd wait for
the game against the Saints. It's not the best week
to do this. I did hear one theory. Even though
they're taking on the Chargers and their defense looks elite.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
That is probably the reason number one why this is
not the best week to do it.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
This is fair.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Not that I want anybody to be a lamb to
with the slaughter, but I feel like I'd rather run
Russell Wilson out there one more week against the jesse
Menzer defense than rookie Jackson dark for his first NFL action.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Somebody big brained it. I heard this theory that because
they're at least at home against the Chargers, they'll be
able to hear the snap counts, and he's better in
up tempo, so there won't be that deafening crowd stopping
them from running faster plays later in the ball game
should they go that direction.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
We know that if that game was at Sofi Stadium,
there'd be more Giant fans than Charger fans.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Anyway, Kevin, how could you oh that is true?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I'm just saying, Brie, am I lying? Though you saw
you saw Sofi last week?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Was that on the air or not?
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Brie?
Speaker 2 (05:54):
That was just in our headsets? Exactly, Speak up. I
don't need to be afraid over here. Why are you
hiding behind the microphone.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Now, Brie, there were so many orange jerseys representing the
Difver Broncos at Sofi Stadium. It was incredible.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
You could hear it, yeah on the radio, our friend
Matt money Smith, voice of the Bolts. Of course, yes,
they were very much outnumbered.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
So the Chargers have made some in roads, but obviously
when it comes to getting a fan based in LA.
But I'm just saying there's a lot of New Yorkers.
I live in Los Angeles, So to your point, Adham,
I don't know if the vibe will be that much
different if that game was in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
A second, well, that's not his point though. His point
was their next game is on the road in New Orleans,
and we know how loud they can get even when
their team sucks, as it does currently the Saints.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Well, I feel like the sound is blunted when you
have the paper bag over your head, so they can't
hear you as well when you oh, Bree, are you
offended by that? I'd be more offended by how the
Saints play. I'm a I am a toat defendant. Hey,
you guys, it's not that bad.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
It could be worse. Okay, did you see what happened
in the first half of that ball game. I got
more to say about that later in the NFL six Pack,
because that was an all time butt whoop in that
Seattle put on them.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
But I will say so, I don't think this has
anything to do with how well or poorly Russell Wilson
is playing, to be honest with you, and I think
it has everything to do with Brian day Ball and
Joe Shane trying to save their jobs.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Yeah, you're right about that. I also think it's possible
that Jackson Dart is just better than Russell Wilson at
this point. Their red zone offense has been so poor
and it's been a trend here, but the Giants offense
inside the tight red zone, which is not one to
twenty yards, that's one to ten. They've been there seven
(07:35):
times this season. That ranks eighth in the NFL. They
just can't convert. They're only scoring twenty percent of the
time touchdowns at least when they're in the red zone.
That's thirty first in the NFL. That's how bad they
have been. They've actually moved the ball well outside of
the red zone. It's when it gets down to the
(07:55):
nitty gritty, they're not not able to perform, and obviously
nothing underscores that more than that abomination of four down
territory they had against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football,
where Russell Wilson looked like he was playing a different game,
like if I hit the crossbar, that's difficult, Right, we
(08:16):
should get six points for that, Right, that might be
the final throw of his NFL career. Maybe we'll get
into more of that in a little bit, but those
four downs were so bad. I think that stealed his
fate and elevated Jackson Dart.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Well, here's my thing too. If you're the Giants, and
I don't think realistically any of us believe that they
had any designs of being a postseason team this year,
But if you did, and you're trying to salvage some
victories at this point in time, wouldn't it maybe make
a little bit more sense to put Jamis Winston in
there too, to see what another veteran that you have
when your roster can potentially do.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I don't know if it made sense to have Jamis
Winston and Russell Wilson on the same team, now that
I think about it.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
I mean, you can argue that, and maybe they wanted
two veterans to try to battle it out and see
who he's act who could win the starting job.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I don't know, but Jackson Dart ended up getting the
number two slot on the depth chart.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Anyways, he did, he did, I guess my point is
and the Athletic did a really good ride up earlier
this month on bus in the NFL and first round
quarterbacks and.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Was that Mike Sando?
Speaker 1 (09:15):
That was not Sando? I forget exactly which one of
his colleagues wrote it, but he did an excellent job.
Matt Hasselbeck was spoken to in that article, as was
Kevin O'Connell, as was Alex Smith, who was labeled as
a bust early in his career and had so many
different offensive coordinators, and they kind of talk around one
of the comments that Kevin O'Connell said to Rich Eisen
last season when he says more organizations fail quarterbacks than
(09:37):
quarterbacks fail organizations, and Alex Smith sort of doubled down
on that, saying, like a lot of these teams don't
have plans in place. You draft a guy, you say
you want to set him for a year or a
few games, and then all of a sudden, because someone
is struggling and because the fan base is getting loud
and boisterous and upset, you pen, they can put him
in there to say like, well, we got to salve
with something, We got to see what this guy can do.
(09:59):
Let's throw him in there now. Sometimes they can end
up working out. Sometimes guys end up getting sacked sixty
eight times in their scatter shot and their career is over,
or at least a career with that franchise.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Sorry, David Carr.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Yeah, because he's a perfect example of this shot. So
I don't know if Jackson Dart is ready or not.
And look, Adam, maybe he is. But based on the
circumstances and why they're making this move, it doesn't seem
as if they're putting him in because he's definitely ready
to go. They're putting them in because giant fans are
booing at us at a MetLife stadium and they don't
want to be embarrassed, so they want to say, like, well,
(10:31):
let's throw this kid out there and see what he
can do and hold out hope that he can play.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Well, Well, you mentioned having a plan. Has it looked
like and I don't know the last decade. The New
York Giants are a franchise with the plan, all part
of the plan, no engines of the playoffs themselves.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Oh look, they did draft Daniel Jones, who had an
up and down, mostly down career.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
And gave up on him at just the wrong time.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Well again, but did they? Yeah, maybe he never.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Thrives if he doesn't go to Indianapolis and it's still
just three so far.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Right, But I think that kind of makes the point
to a degree. Who failed too? Did Daniel Jones fail
the Giants? Because clearly the kid has has talent, He's
not dumb. He went to Duke Well, so, I mean
he clearly can play. He did take them, take them
to the playoffs as strong. I mean they had a
really weak schedule. He made some plays, he was solid,
but nothing spectacular. He had a great playoff game. He
had a great game against Minnesota for sure.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Now I've made this argument before with the Sacramento Kings,
like if some of the guys they drafted, like Marvin Bagley,
went somewhere else, that's the King's fault. I don't know
how Dearon Fox was able to overcome the King's dysfunction
as a franchise and organization. But I don't know if
Luka Nancich would have been able to overcome everything going
(11:41):
on there with Lotti Diebac at the time president of
basketball Operations, who didn't believe that he would work in
the backcourt and they could have multiple guards in the
league that favors perimeter play like they were such a mess.
I think there are Hall of famers that have fallen
through the cracks that is happened.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
I think he had more happens, even more so in
football because you know, to steal a line from Petros Papade,
because it is so circumstantial. You play with, who you
play for, the coaching staff, who helps cultivate your talents,
and all that all makes a huge difference. Basketball, I
think is a little different. It's such an individualized if
you're a great individual talent, I think there's more Hall
(12:21):
of Fame football careers left on the shelf than there
are Hall of Fame basketball careers. I would say, just
based on the volume, you're not.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
As dependent on others. Because there's only five guys on
the court. You're twenty percent of what they're doing out there.
At least yeah, so I look. I hope Jackson Dart
does well. I'm excited for him. He played well at
Ole Miss. He was a lot, he was really fun
to watch. He had a really good preseason. I'm rooting
for him.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I'm just fearful playing behind this offensive line which has
not been good, really a dearth of talent offensively with
Tracy being out. Yes you have Molakue neighbors, but you're
pretty much don't have anything else. Is he good to go?
Is he playing or not? I mean that's the question,
not as if he is set up for success and
if he is set up for failure and he's not
(13:04):
quite ready four games into his professional career, I do.
I am fearful that this could end up setting him back,
and that's something that you don't want to do with
the young quarterback. If I am the Giants, I am
not worried about what Chuck from the Bronx is saying
in the stands, screaming for me like ah bench. But
in Dart, if Dart is not ready to play, I
ain't putting them in the game. Let them boom me
(13:25):
off the field. That's a business decision that I'm making
as the mayor. Family, and as the Giants, I'm not
putting this kid out there unless I fully feel that
he's ready, and I kind of feel like he's probably
not ready at this point in time, and they're just
taking a shot in the dark. And I think the
Joe Shane, the general manager, and Brian Diebler saying like, well,
we know what we're not gonna do with Russell Wilson.
He's been terrible. We're probably not having a great year.
(13:47):
If Jackson Dark comes in and has a spark, maybe
we can save our jobs for another season. But that's
all job preservation for them, less about them knowing for
a fact that Jackson Dark gives them a great chance
to win.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
My argument in favor of what they're doing is, if
I'm gonna have ups and downs and inconsistent play anyways,
I'd rather do it with a guy who's young and
actually has upside than a veteran. You're getting people, I
think overestimate sometimes having a veteran versus having a rookie.
You always hear, oh, you got to go through the
(14:19):
bumps and bruises with them. You're going through that with
Russell Wilson, who's thirty four. You'd be going through that
with Jamis Winston too, He's gonna be helter skeltering all
over the place at times. You never know if he's
gonna make a great play or a woefully bad play
that makes you question why he ever was in the
league to begin with, finds his career. So, if you're
going to go through this and those are your other
(14:40):
two options, I might as well do it with Jackson
dark because if he does catch lightning in a bottle.
I don't know if it's happening in Game one against
the Chargers, but if he does show a little bit
of competency out there, then you might be able to
save your job because they want to keep you with
that quarterback because maybe your offense is part of why
he's progres.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Oh look, if I are those two guys, Shane and
Dave Ball, I'll probably do the exact same thing. With
the job preservation standpoint. I don't know if it's necessarily
best for him. I guess what it is. It's a
risk reward. So is the risk of him potentially getting
rattle behind a terrible offensive line, getting hurt, getting his
confidence shot, and potentially losing him and more. It could
be Anthony Richardson for all we know now he had
(15:21):
a different set of issues. But look at your guy
out there in Carolina, who granted you didn't want and
went on the giant rant about them trading up for
Bryce Young, who me Yeah. Now, I'm not saying their
circumstances would have been different. But if Bryce Young sat
on the bench's rookie season behind a veteran quarterback and
actually learned how to study and learned all these things
and solve the struggles of a starter in front of him,
maybe he ended up what it would have ended up
(15:41):
being better for it. I don't really know. It's all
a great unknown. Yeah, And it's an inexact science to
say whether a guy should sit behind someone like Patrick
Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith, or whether somebody should be
thrust in from day one like Matt Ryan and have
success you can, There's no one way to do.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
It, that's the problem. How do you measure when a
guy is ready? At some point, he's got see live
bullets out there. You gotta see if he's gonna sink
or swim.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Well, my thing is, if they were that confident that
Jackson Dart had such a great training camp but was
that good? Why didn't he start opening day?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I mean it could have just been like we brought
in Russell Wilson, paid him ten and a half million dollars,
by the ways, when they had Jamis Winston. We're gonna
see if he has anything left. If he doesn't, we're
okay with that, because Jackson Dart looked decent at times
in the preseason. He's actually got a couple reps in
the last few weeks too, here and there, which is
(16:28):
a little bit awkward. Feels like Flora back in the
day with two quarterbacks. If you got two, you got none.
I don't hate that because if you started with Jackson
Dart and he was bad from the beginning, it's hard
to then you go to Russell Wilson and he's bad.
Do you go back to Jackson Dhart? Do you then
go cycle through all the veterans with going to Jameis Winston.
(16:51):
I'd rather have this feeling of hope with the fan
base that hey, we have your guy, the future, here,
the guy you've been chanting for. We're gonna play. We're
three games in, we're zero to three, probably should be
one and two. With that loss to Dallas that was
an ultimate barnburner late. But I don't mind the process
that they're doing this with. I don't know if it
(17:13):
says anything I should say about Jackson Dart and whether
or not they feel he's good to go or not.
Now this week against the Chargers and that defense that's tough,
that is that's being thrown into the fire.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
Yeah, look the idea that money plays. You know, you
could have used that argument back in the day when
Russell Wilson first got his starting job with the Seattle Seahawks,
when they paid Matt Flynn a pretty hefty contract to
be the starting quarterback and Russ was undeniable in training camp,
and despite the fact that they signed Flynn, they put
in Russ. If Jackson Dart were actually that good from
day one, even if I think it was a close race,
(17:48):
you would rather put the rookie in there and let
him go on there from day one and take some
lumps and see if you think he's really that talented
and ready from day.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
One, then put him in there and let him learn
through it. It did feel unique though, when Pete Carroll
made that move. It felt like a huge deal at
the time.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, it's not common at all. But Pete Carroll, to
his credit, going all the way back to his days
at USC, compete every single day. We're gonna give the
job to the person that earns it, that deserves it
the most, win forever. Yeah, and the Giants, and look,
everybody has optimism going into the season that they're gonna
make the playoffs and have a magical run. I'm sure
the Giants felt that in their building to a certain degree.
(18:23):
To anybody that was being objected for the outside knew
that the Giants are probably not gonna win more than
six games this year, regardless of who the starting quarterback
was gonna be.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
And they tried to sell their fan base all off
season on Russell Wilson, and we're gonna be able to
rejuvenate him and get more out of him.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Great, So Denver Soda, Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
I honestly think. And there was Soundlos the other night
on Thursday Night Football with Togo, Tony Gonzalez and Richard
Sherman talking about this and we don't got to play it,
but their questioning whether or not he's gonna end up
being a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Now, I like that. Can we actually stick a pin
in that and talk about that coming up in the
next seven because I think that's an interesting conversation, Okay,
that we can have. So is FNA on FSR Kevin
Figures and Adam Austin broadcasting live from the Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Yes, coming up next, what will be Russell
Wilson's legacy? Seemed like he was a shoe in for
the Hall of Fame early in his career, but over
these last couple of seasons it's been called into question.
(19:17):
We'll talk about that coming up next. FNA on FSR.
Speaker 4 (19:20):

in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for. Yeah, you blubber list name in me.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Well, you know what it's called over Promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women

He's Kevin Figures, I'm Ada Maslin. This is fn A
on FSR still to come and strange within fiction. We
got a whale of the tail and Mike Sando will
be here from the Athletic talk more about the NFL as.
We're not stopping either because Thursday night football is that
allowed to still say, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (21:15):
I guess not.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Don't cancel me, Fox Sports, fore give it time, give
it time. Coming up in a little bit. Yes, we
do have the NFL six pack. But Kevin mentioned it
there on Thursday Night. It was the Seahawks coming through
late as their kicker hit the smelling salts before hitting
the game when he kick but.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Now still legal smelling salts by the way, Oh yeah,
how does that working? About that? Yeah? Okay?
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Well, postgame we heard from Togo, Tony Gonzalez and Richard
Sherman and they were given their opinions about Russell Wilson,
and obviously Richard Sherman knows him very well. Well, listen
to this.
Speaker 7 (22:02):
I think you got to judge his career off. When
the legion of Boom was there, he had a legendary
defense and all time defense, and how much success he had.
And then without that legendary defense, the success he had
without that legendary defense, he's been four and eleven, seven
and eight all in three to start with the Giants.
Like that's he was a winning football player in Seattle,
and people said, hey, winning his football player, all this
(22:23):
good stuff, all these accolades, and now you get to
go on your own and you get to crew pay.
I'm this great quarterback, I'm this guy that's going to
be dominant, and it just hasn't worked out that way.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
So do you think we've seen the last of Russell Wilson?
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Honest, I hope we have.
Speaker 8 (22:36):
And I say that because just looking at him and
his career, his legacy, like he talked about, if ever
there was somebody who played himself out of a Hall
of Fame, it's Russell Wilson real And I say that
because look at what he's what's happened ever since he
left Seattle. When he was in Seattle, he was the man.
He was making these good plays. He won a super win,
the two of them. But as soon as he left there,
he went the Denver sign, that big old deal. They
(22:58):
paid him thirty nine million dollars to he goes to
Pittsburgh plaser one year he's out of there, and now
he goes here and.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Has three games.
Speaker 8 (23:04):
I just don't know if it's gonna get any better.
And I don't want to see him on a sideline
holding a clipboard.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Okay, so first you heard Richard Sherman who may have
an axe to grind, and they at the end there
that was Tony Gonzalez, less of an axe to grind,
more of just a little Peter Pan knife or something
like that. But I don't think it's crazy. And while
Richard Sherman may have some hot take in him, I
(23:30):
think Tony Gonzalez was saying something there are a lot of
people have been thinking about. Because he's regressed significantly, and
Russell Wilson is still the age of thirty four. It's
not like he's forty.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
See if he was forty nowadays, the way these guys
look at him as Matthew Stafford and the way Tom
Brady on his way out the door, I mean, guys
are still playing at a decently high level late in
their careers, late in the upprages.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
We've gotten enough bad tape of Russell Wilson where I'm
starting to forget how and why he was so good
early on in his career. I know he's lost some athleticism.
I know that was part of his game and not
just scrambling, just moving around the pocket. And he used
to throw just pristine, high precision deep balls.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
All over the play in the middle of the pocket
without moving. That was the thing that was so impressive
about him. He's fairly diminutive, but I mean he will
stand back there behind the offensive line and throw bombs
down the field.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
Now it's like he can't move the offense. He can't
convert third downs. You obviously can't convert on fourth downs
during a goal line situation in the red zone.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Now, we can still hit a deep ball here or there,
as we as evidenced by that game against Dallas. You
know he can still throw it when he needs to.
There's still something in there. By the way, I will
say about Richard Sermon's comments, when you talk about great
quarterbacks and all that, you run the list of any
great quarterback Hall of Fame quarterbacks, or at least many
of them who had Super Bowl success. They all had
great defenses. Yeah, Troy Aikman have had a great defense,
(24:53):
Joe Montana as dominant as he was in the postseason
for the forty nine ers. Phenomenal defenses, And so I
mean the teams end up winning Super Bowls, not great
individual quarterbacks, because if that was the case, Dan Marino
would have multiple championships and all that. So it is
a team game. I understand what Sherman is saying, and
obviously he was a key member of the legion of Boom,
but you can't separate that from any other in a
(25:14):
great quarterback who had a great career with a lot
of championship.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Look did their defense win that Super Bowl more than
Russell Wilson. Of course they destroyed Peyton Manning, but he
definitely did his part and was more than just a
game manager. And I thought, up until the interception against
Malcolm Butler, the way he orchestrated that last drive for
Seattle against the Patriots the very next year was impressive.
(25:36):
This was somebody that was known for making key clutch
plays late. So Rob Parker, our friend and co worker
here at Fox Sports Radio, did bring up that, you know,
his last three seasons with Seattle, their defense wasn't that great.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
That's true.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
The Legion of Boom was disbanded, it aged out. Yeah,
a lot of those guys either moved on or we're
done because of injuries, or looked a little bit washed.
Richard Sherman certainly fell into that category. I think he
went through an achilles tear at some point, but Russell
Wilson was carrying at that point, and when he went
to Denver, we expected some of that stuff to carry over.
(26:15):
It didn't. But he was still good with a mediocre defense.
I guess you could say.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
I told about that mediocre. His stats were good. The
teams obviously weren't as good.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
But they had like eleven wins ten wins. I think
they might have had a twelve win season. He looked
like he was now not being the one carried by
the defense, but he was in that at that point
of his career where you're paying a quarterback like that
all that money. They have to elevate everyone around him,
and he was picking him up and he was, you know,
doing his end of the bargain.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
I guess the problem is, and we're going to the
Tony Gonzalez part of the conversation of did he play
himself out of the Hall of Fame. Now, if you
just look at his resume right now, I don't really
know if it's Hall of Fame. He's fifteenth all time
on the passing list, which is great. Obviously, that's one
spot ahead of Joe Flacco, who nobody is talking about
being a Hall of Famer despite his great postseason run
(27:09):
that one year that the Ravens won the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
His Joe Flacco Hall of Famer elite. Of course he's not.
That's not a question.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
No.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
So Now, typically two super Bowl championships guarantees a quarterback
a shoe win spot to the Hall of Fame, regardless
how great their career was or was. And Eli mannings
in the top ten of passing. If he only won
one Super Bowl, I don't think anybody would be talking
about whether or not he be a Hall of Famer. No,
he's gonna get in there because one who he beat
twice it was historic. Yeah, and the fact that he
won two Super Bowl championships for the Giants franchise. Sure,
(27:38):
But if you look at Russ's regular season stats, they're
very good, but not great. He made ten Pro Bowls.
I think fans look at Pro Bowls, but Hall of
Fame voters don't pay much attention to Pro Bowls. They
look at All Pro selections. All Pro selections for Russell
Wilson won second team All Pro one time in his
career to this point in time. And by the way,
yes he's only he's thirty four, but he's on the
(28:00):
downward slide, downward trajectory of his career at this point
in time, I highly doubt he's going to have a
career renaissance. Now maybe he does, but based on the
way things have looked the last four years for him,
it seems like this is it. And if that is
the case, I agree with Tony Gonzale's assertion that he
looked to be on his way to the Hall of
Fame when he won that first Super Bowl of Seattle,
and had he not thrown the interception of Malcolm Butler
(28:20):
in that second one against the Patriots, he would be in.
But based on what he has done and based on
his current career resume, I don't know how you can
argue that he's a Hall of Fame quarterback.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
I think it's possible, because of his age, you can
get exposed enough that it puts your Hall of Fame
chances in Jeopardy like, it's not. Once you're in, there's
nothing you can do to hurt your career enough. He's
not MJ on the Wizards. Correct, Okay, he already was
kind of borderline. That's how it felt. So if he's
(28:53):
going to back into it, that's what it would feel
like right now. I honestly, everything that has happened now
is a part of his resume. You can't just discount
that and say, well, this isn't prime Russell Wilson. It
shouldn't be washed Russell Wilson, even though it looks like
that right now at this young of an age, as
we've seen with different teams, where he can't find a
(29:15):
spot and thrive anymore.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Well, there's also the element of he's maybe his own
worst enemy, and this is kind of part of the
reason why things maybe fell apart in Seattle, the politics
involved with a lot of the players, his relationship with
Pete Carroll in contrast to Pete's relationship with a lot
of the players on the defense, Pete's side of the ball.
He goes to Denver, he gets the giant mansion, he
has his own private room or whatever it is. They
(29:38):
really bent over backwards for Russell, Wilson and Denver for
the guy to not produce, and I think that turned
a lot of people off, namely Sean Payton, who came in.
He was like, why do we give you all this stuff?
What have you proven these last couple of years? And
Sean Payton was like, I will pay you. As Tony
Gonzale said, Milt multiple millions of dollars to not be
here despite how talented you might still be, you ain't
(29:59):
the right fit. They're not working.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Plenty of guys whose career careers end on a low
note and it doesn't affect them and they're okay anyways.
But he's been so shockingly bad to average the last
few years with different organizations and different offenses. It's like,
was Seattle the perfect fit for him? It's like, was
that the one team not just because of the defense,
but because of the offense. I do look at quarterbacks
(30:27):
like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning going to a different
situation and winning and being successful, and that's meaningful. That
is a big feather in your cap to not just
be a system or part of the system and a franchise,
but you are the system and it travels no matter
where you go. Russell Wilson clearly isn't that guy. Now
(30:48):
you don't have to necessarily be that guy to get
in because Aaron Rodgers hasn't had success outside of the Packers.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
And few successful quarterbacks are able to do that. As
great as Joe Montana was, he played in one city
his entire career. He played in the West Coast offense,
in San Francisco and in Kansas City. Yeah, would he
have been successful if he played somewhere else in another system?
No one really knows.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
It goes back to circumstances. But some guys are so transcendent,
you know, no matter where they were, they were going
to have a successful career and maybe not win as much,
but still win and still be a Hall of Famer
no matter where they were. I can't say that about
Russell Wilson. I wonder people are talking about, Oh, could
he end up somewhere else?
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Now?
Speaker 2 (31:28):
Is this gonna be? Where's he gonna go? Who's gonna
take him? You were talking about the Bengals, like, I'd
think I'd rather take my chances with Jake Browning and
see what he has. Honestly, well, he's been in the
system for a while.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
That's the key he's been in the CYSM. We're talking
about different systems and guys moving around, and Russell Wilson
has been in multiple systems over the last four years
and hasn't really been successful.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
As bad as Jake Browning looked against the Vikings last Sunday,
he did go four and three, had some three hundred
yard passing games in twenty twenty three when he was
filling in for Joe Burrow. So I'd rather kind of
stick with that continuity than just bring in a guy,
throw a playbook at him and say, hey, you used
to be good five years ago. Can you regain can
you recapture any of that greatness?
Speaker 1 (32:11):
Yeah? Is there any I would say, any quarterback star
franchise right now that would say, man, we really need
to bring in Russell Wilson. He's going to be the
difference maker for us.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
No, I don't think he's I don't think he's earned
the right to pick his next destination or make a
fuss and get out in New York. Because he's Russell Wilson,
and because he is such a legacy quarterback for the NFL.
This goes back to if he was a surefire Hall
of Famer. He'd have that clout exactly, he'd have that
(32:40):
juice to be able to say, you know what, I
get it. They're going with Jackson Dart here, but I
want to go somewhere else where I can play because
I've done this much for the league. He's not that.
He's not that type of guy. So I think it
kind of answers the question. And maybe he's not a
Hall of Famer now I'd have to review some things
and Eli Manning getting in eventually, which does seem inn't it.
(33:02):
I don't love that. I don't know either, but it
seems like the bar has been lowered across Hall of Fames.
As Steve Hartman would tell us.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Maybe I feel like that's just kind of how the
bar has been in the NFL. For whatever reason. It's like,
you have stats in Major League Baseball, however, many strikeouts,
you're automatic Hall of Famer. Five hundred home runs, you're
automatically in the Hall of Fame. Two Super Bowl championships
as a starting quarterback. For whatever reason, that's been the
bar that set. Guys who ment win two Super Bowl
championships ultimately end up making into the Hall of Fame
(33:30):
Bill Bill Plunkett, our friend Bill Plunkett from the Olcie
Register now Los Angeles, No Plunket from the Raiders, the
Oakland and LA Raiders. Jimp Plunkett took him unfortunately much
much later obviously did end up getting in. But that's
kind of just the line. So whether we agree with
it or not, and I don't, to be honest with you, if.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
They're consistent about it, I'm okay with that. They generally are,
but it seems like things have evolved and they've softened
their stance as Riders over the years with different players.
For instance, like Terrell Davis got in eventually, and I
was for him getting in initially, but I understood the
argument that he didn't have the longevity. And is Tony
(34:11):
Bissellian now now, Yes, he's the same thing. At his
best when he was healthy, he was the best left
tackle in the game. But he only lasted five years.
Is that good enough? Should that matter? I think in
cases like that where you know how good a guy
was and before the injuries, he obviously would have had
(34:32):
a different career, a longer career when it's that obvious.
But yeah, I don't. I don't know about Russell Wilson
and Eli Manning. I gotta say, now, Tom Brady, maybe
we'll get into some of him later. That's a no question.
I'm just saying we haven't forgot about the conflict of
interest going on, and we may get into that story
(34:52):
a little bit later in the show.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
We very well made.
Speaker 2 (34:54):
But coming up next, we have what stranger than fiction?
A whale of a tale. Kevin, those big old come
on now, why would replay that? How dare you? Bree?
We do have an interesting story and strange with the
fiction involving animals that you may not believe. That's Kevin.
Up next, it's Fox Sports Radio. He's Kevin figures a
Madame Oslin. This is FNA on FSR.
Speaker 9 (35:17):
Do we look like the threw dumbies guys in the
world to you?
Speaker 1 (35:20):
Fn A cotton back in the f and A. I
guess now long the fn A takeover of FSR is
just fn A on FSR.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Right, we've subjugated the place.
Speaker 1 (35:33):

We do have a corrections and retractions before we get
to Stranger than Fiction. Purto hits me up on x
(35:57):
at K fig one and you're correct. Prito um Plunkett
is not in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He
was put to vote for the Veterans Committee a couple
of years ago. I remember this, but he did not
actually get in, despite the fact that he has won
two Super Bowls for the Raiders.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
So there's a chick Russell. I'm sorry, there's a real
chance you're not getting in either if you continue to
put out these tinkers.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
I still feel like Eli Manning, with his two Super
Bowl victories over the Patriots, is definitely going to get in.
Speaker 2 (36:23):
I think you're right. Manning family all right. Stranger of
the fiction.
Speaker 3 (36:27):
A fast food.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
Customer defending.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
After her McDonald's run out of McNuggets.
Speaker 9 (36:33):
He can't give a drunk man riding a horse at
EWI and he goes.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Unlike cars, words that don't have motors, they.
Speaker 9 (36:39):
Have a mind in their own.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
Strange twenty four year old man now jus of throwing
an alligator through a drive through window.
Speaker 2 (36:50):
Strangeel. We like talking about animals here on f and A.
Last week in geek News, we talked about them while
reviewing the trailer for the new Anaconda reboot and our
Anaconda did not want none of that movie that looked
like But.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
I don't know, Adam. You did have me watch the
trailer during the break.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
Yeah, you know what you said afterwards?
Speaker 1 (37:11):
What did I say?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
Yeah, I'm not paying money for that.
Speaker 1 (37:13):
Say it comes out streaming for free at some point
in the next couple of years, and I have nothing
to do, I'll watch it.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
You did say that that might be where you could
also find a free copy of Free Willy to watch
right now, or at least one of the three sequels
that are out there. I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
I knew there was a second one.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Yeah, it wasn't bad. That was all right, honestly. So
what about a story about saving the whales?
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Here big old women?
Speaker 2 (37:41):
And yes, you mentioned now we got some Michael Jackson
music going on. Oh yeah, this ain't about saving our shifts,
It's about saving the whales. No sos here. So from
twenty twenty to twenty twenty four, there have been at
least six hundred and seventy three documented incidents of killer
whales attacking boats. A yachtsman said this in twenty twenty two,
(38:03):
describing the attack This happens in Spain. He said, quota
was terrifying. We thought, if we were thrown into the water,
what are they going to do to us? They have
just thrown a ten ton yacht all over the place. Well,
what are they going to do to you?
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Well, they're called killer whales for a reason.
Speaker 2 (38:21):
Bingo. There was another attack this past week near Portugal
where four people had to be rescued, and it was
the third such attack on a boat by killer whales
in the past week. Scientists are studying these seemingly coordinated
attacks to try to understand these attacks near the Strait
of Gibraltar specifically, but their best clues to decipher the
(38:44):
orca's intentions include recording their sounds and whales songs and
then comparing it to interaction and sounds they make when
killing tuna, which scientists say is a playful interaction right,
not necessarily for the tuna but for the orcas. Yes,
after that they kill it. I guess they share the tunas.
So far, they believe they are just playing with the boats,
(39:06):
using them like a little tug boat in a bathtub.
They're just having a whale of a time. But because
of the size of the orcas, weighing four tons, it
comes across as very aggressive behavior to anyone on board.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
It's no different than my son. My son is seventeen
months coming up tomorrow. When he sits, when he takes
a bath, he has these little toy boats. He just
tosses them in the air and they bounce all off
the wall and it's nothing to him.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
There you go. Does he got a rubber ducky in there?
He used to Burt and Ernie style.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:32):
So the researchers are looking to attach some cameras and
recording devices in order to study the behavior more closely.
But yachtsmen, they aren't waiting for the data and spreadsheets
to come in. They're fueling threatened right now, and they're
saying they'll pour petrol into the water or start stabbing
the whales if they get attacked. Oh, they didn't said this,
(39:52):
they said this, didn't they do this in Free Willy.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
That's what's set it off.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
The whole thing exactly.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
Geez.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
As for whose side I'm on, it's not the sailors,
it's not Michael Jackson. I side with the whales.
Speaker 1 (40:02):
That's right, Free Willie.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
Let them play their game of battleship with your yacht.
Like Tony Bruno, I don't have a boat anymore. He
never did, or I never did. I so I can't
sympathize with the yachtsmen at all.
Speaker 10 (40:15):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (40:15):
Sorry, If the killer whales are causing you to spill
your champagne glass on your yacht, take some dramamine, grab
an oarr and find some land. Ho the whales were
here first.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Well, if the.
Speaker 1 (40:27):
Whales came into your house and started playing around like
you were out there and their that's their habitat out
in near the water.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
If they want to raged all your boat, let them.
We're playing. They're having a good time.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
Yeah. Be fortunate that they're not doing more than just
having fun with your boat, because it could end up
even worse for you.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
You know why I ended up loving killer whales, right?
Why is that they control the great white shark population.
And I know how much Adam loves great white sharks,
and we must free them from the fish Bowls in
their theme parks. I watched Blackfish okay exactly, thank you.
Speaker 1 (40:57):
For Strangers and in fiction and coming up next the
F and A six here on FSR.
Speaker 4 (41:02):
Don't listening to Fox Sports Radio Radio.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Welcome back in It's FNA on FSR. We got you
for another two hours here on Fox Sports Radio. As
it is FNA on Fox Football Saturday. He's at KFIG one,
I'm at follow Adam A. Coming up at Sando NFL
is our next guest. That would be Mike Sando of
the Athletic.
Speaker 1 (41:24):
Talking all things NFL with Mike, so looking forward to
having him coming up in the very next segment. But
coming up right now is one of our favorite segments
that we bring you every single solitary week Let's get
to a mark.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
Time for the NFL six pack with.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Six topics surrounding the NFL this upcoming weekend's action. We've
also still used to that.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
We look at each other like, really, it's the six facts.
Finally some carbination, you know, No, it's fine, it's natural,
it's totally fine. Uh. First out of goreg Kevin.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Yeah, let's go, what do we got there?
Speaker 9 (42:04):
We go?
Speaker 1 (42:05):
So the coach or player under the most pressure this
upcoming weekend.
Speaker 2 (42:09):
Adam, all right, you know about the dreaded sophomore slump,
Well what about a junior jump off a cliff, because
that's where the Texas are headed right now with CJ.
Stroud and Demiico Ryans, both who are in their third
years in their respective roles in both are on the
hot seat for me after an OH to three start
(42:29):
in Houston where they may not just have a problem,
but problems as Jacksonville and the Colts both look better
than them and if they somehow lose to their division
rival in the Titans at home this weekend, who are
also in OH to three, the love seat that Demiico
Ryans and CJ. Stroud are sharing is gonna get hotter
(42:52):
than Beyonce eating a Gilapano cheeseburger outside of a what
a Burger on the hood of her car during a
humid summer night in her hometown of Houston.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
It was a very vivid description.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Oh, I wanted you to really let that marinate. I
don't care that. Tamiko Ryan said they have been close.
He also said close isn't good enough. He qualified it.
It's a true statement, so is this. They aren't just
close or close to last in the league in points
per game. They are last. They're thirty second in points
(43:25):
per game at just twelve point seven per game. Last
year they were at twenty two points per game. I
was still eighteenth, but you know, it's much better than
the dead last The year before they were thirteenth. Are
you seeing a trend here? Are you following me here?
Speaker 3 (43:39):
Camera?
Speaker 4 (43:40):
Guy?
Speaker 2 (43:40):
They were getting worse as an offense, and CJ looks
to be regressing. I know the offensive line has been
a problem, but even with that, the numbers are alarming.
Since Week five of last year, over his last fifteen
regular season games, he has zero three hundred yard passing
games and ISA averaging just one ninety six when it
(44:00):
comes to the yardage per game, with fifteen passing touchdowns
to twelve interceptions over his last fifteen regular season games.
Remember his first twenty games in the NFL spe thirty
touchdowns to eight interceptions, almost three hundred yards per game.
Just one of five quarterbacks this season with more interceptions
than touchdowns. And really, he's connecting twenty percent less on
(44:23):
his deep ball throws than he did his rookie season.
Deep ball passes qualify as a pass twenty yards or
more down the field. In twenty twenty three, he had
the best completion on deep balls by any rookie in
the last twenty seasons. You know what they're calling him now,
Michael Carter Williams. I don't think anybody that's a good
(44:44):
poll though. That's so Ceo Stroud looks wack. I forgot
about due by the.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Way, I reason onto the scene, got off to a
great start and then literally just fell off of the
face of the NBA earth.
Speaker 2 (44:54):
Now, I will give Demiko Ryan's credit. Their defense has
been good enough to keep them in games excellent. The
Texans are the only team, though in the last twenty seasons,
to surrender a total of fifty five points or less
through the first three weeks of the season and still
start zero in three. Their offense has to be better
than this. And if they can't get going against the Titans,
(45:15):
and I mean put up at least twenty eight points,
well that seat is getting hotter. It's getting warmer for
CJ and his head coach.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
I am right there with you, by the way, Oh
for now, I am not putting Demko Ryans on the
hot seat. Now maybe I should because he is the
head of the snake when it comes to it. But
look to your point, and I'm not going to rehash
a lot of the same stats that you did, but
defensively they have been good. Yeah, good enough to keep
them competitive, and that is de Miko side of the ball.
The issue has been on offense, where they brought in
Nick Cayley, the new offensive coordinator, who I'm going to
(45:45):
put more on the hot seat than Tomiko Ryans along
with CJ. Stroud, because if you remember a couple of
seasons ago, in his rookie season, his offensive coordinator was
Bobby Slowick, and they had such a great year that
Slowik actually got head coaching interviews, actually get the job,
came back last season. You mentioned how their offense really
really hit the skids last year and slow ended up
(46:06):
losing his job. They bring in Nick Kayley, and the
offense has now gotten worse. To your point, Now, look,
you mentioned the offensive line issues. They traded away Laramie Tunsel,
who maybe he was a bad locker room guy, but
he's still one of the better left tackles in the
entire league.
Speaker 2 (46:20):
Yeah, what's more important.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
That's a huge loss I guess it depends on how
bad of a locker room guy he was. I don't know.
Sometimes it's not.
Speaker 2 (46:25):
Worth it, but left tackle is so key, is the
second most important.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
I think it's the second most important offensive position other
than quarterback, even more so than the skill positions. Talking
skill positions, not having Joe Mixon he had that mysterious
injury from the offseason that plagued them. He's still out.
That's a big loss to your offense. Ultimately, Kayley was
the guy who was brought into fix c J. Stroud,
and so far through three games, that has not been
the case. So that is something I want to ask
(46:50):
Mike Sandel about. He's the guy that talks to executives,
watches film. How much of this is c J. Stroud
just not improving and progressing, and how much of it
is the infrastructure around him changing so much, a different offense,
losing offensive players around him, not having an offensive line.
I'm not trying to make excuses for CJ. Stroud, but
I do think this could be more of an organizational
failure as opposed to just c J. Stroud not producing
(47:12):
on his own.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
It goes back to what we were talking about earlier.
Sometimes the organizations are failing these young quarterbacks.
Speaker 1 (47:18):
Yeah, so similar to what you said, I do think
if the offense is going to break out, this is
the week to do it. Similar to what I said
last week in this segment about Caleb Williams against Dallas
and he actually performed. I said, if you're gonna if
you're gonna turn a corner, this is the defense to
do it against. If you're the Houston Texans and you're
gonna turn a corner, you're gonna do it against the
Tennessee defense that is the lower third in the NFL
(47:41):
and its points in points allout and in total yards.
So yes, maya hot seat heat check goes to Nick
Cayley and c J. Stroud, not necessarily Demico Rilings.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
Mark, what have we got next here?
Speaker 3 (47:51):
Trap game tap?
Speaker 2 (47:52):
And you want to start here, Kevin, or you want
to go with May.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
I'll start with the trap game tap, and I'm gonna
go with the different Broncos at home Monday Night football
again the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, common sense will tell you
the Broncos will have it easy dispatching the Bengals, who
obviously have a backup quarterback and got run off of
the field by the Minnesota Vikings, who had a backup
quarterback themselves, although granted it was really the Viking defense
that really did the majority of the damage.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
Last was one damn player, really, it really was.
Speaker 1 (48:18):
It was one of the great individual performances by a
defensive player. I won't say in the history of this.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
Sport, Dexeter Jackson against rich You had to bring that
up in particular, Sorry, Kevin. We'll get to the Raiders
a little bit later here, of course.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
Now, look, I agree with the train of thought that
Denvers should run Minnesota off of the field. It's not
as if Denver is necessarily dominating at the moment though.
Either is the problem. Their defense did look really good
against the Chargers. Bo Nicks just still seems a little
bit off to me. For whatever reason. To start the season,
he had three or four throws that if he connects
on just a couple of them. Last week in LA
they end up getting that victory against the Chargers. Had
(48:54):
open guys and for whatever reason, just was unable to
hit them. So, you know, in this situation, I kind
of see two teams that are really desperate. You know,
the Bengals actually in a decent position at the moment
because the way things are looking right now in the
AFC North, no one's really running away with it. I'm
not that impressed with Pittsburgh, and Baltimore could be one
and three this week depending on what happens in their
(49:14):
game against Kansas City. So I do think Baltimore does
end up turning it around late in the season, But
right now, with the Bengals not knowing exactly what Joe
Burrow's status is, if they can stay afloat in this division,
even be a couple of games out by the time
he potentially comes back and early December, they still have
a chance of making the postseason. So all is not
lost for them, and for the Broncos is the out exactly,
(49:38):
But for the Broncos it's the opposite though. The Chargers
are three and zero in the division and basically have
a two game lead on everybody because they've beaten everybody
in the division already. You can't afford to fall to
one in three. You have to win every single winnable
game that you have on your schedule at this point
in time, especially considering you have the Eagles coming up
on the horizon. Hence, the trap game portion of this
(49:58):
to a certain degree, maybe you overlook the Bengals a
little bit, looking yourhead to the defending champions coming in,
and all of a sudden you could be staring at
a one and four start, and at that point in
time you have no chance in hell of really winning
the AFC West. In my heart of hearts, I don't
think the Bengals will beat the Broncos. I really don't.
But I do think Cincinnati will put up a strong
(50:19):
fight because, say for Breeze Saints, who are just devoid
of legit NFL talent at this point in time. Sorry Brie,
but you know it's true. It's exceedingly rare that an
NFL team gives run off of the field and consecutive weeks.
That almost never happens. Yeah, so I do expect the
Cincinnati Bengals to put up a bit of a fight.
Do I think they'll cover the seven and a half
point spread. You'll have to wait for two on two
(50:40):
off to figure out at the end of the show.
But I'll say this, I think with that spotty as
Denver has been early on, and with a matchup with
the Eagles on the horizon, I think this game will
be a lot closer than many people will assume it
will be, and the Broncos better be careful.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
And that's coming from a Raider fan full disclosure. Just
got to point that out. My trap game tap up
here in the NFL six pack. Kevin, you remember last
week you asked me, quote, so, when the Browns beat
the Packers, are you still gonna say they're your Packers?
Speaker 1 (51:11):
I I did. I do remember saying that I was
not set exactly that I was not. I stuck the
knife in last week. I wasn't gonna twist it. So
thank you for finishing off, finishing yourself falling on the sword.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
I'm good at that. I did hesitate when I replied
and said, no, they'll beat my Browns, and my Browns
really play some defense, and that thirteen to ten upset
victory over my former team and the Packers, who have
been eliminated from Super Bowl contention after that late game collapse.
When you lose to the Browns, little harsh, You're gonna
have a tough time finding your confidence to beat anyone
(51:43):
ever again. Oh that's harsh, huh? I mean the Packers
had won three hundred straight regular season games. Went up
by at least ten points in the final four minutes
of the fourth quarter. Their loss last week, or the
last time I should say a loss like that happened
to them was nineteen sixty seven against the Baltimore Colts
(52:05):
and a game where the head coaches were Vince Lombardi
and Don Shula.
Speaker 1 (52:09):
I was in the bart Star days.
Speaker 2 (52:10):
Oh my god, that's the last time they had a
loss that bad. And now the Lions have to face
this juggernaut known as the Cleveland Browns at home on
a short week after beating the Ravens on the road
on Monday night. Football smells like a trap to me.
Never mind that the Browns lost to the same Ravens
team the Lions just beat forty one to seventeen in
(52:33):
Week two. That's how much the Ravens beat the Browns by. Okay,
even I'm not sure how much my Browns can really
keep things competitive in Detroit against a team that used
to suck as hard as they do. But I think
you can make the argument this could be a trap game, Jordan.
That's the point of this category. So I tried my best,
(52:53):
like the Browns will to no avail.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
Two categories in two categories in We have plenty more

just tired, pointless clickbait, well, meanwhile, this man releases the
most well researched and anticipated rankings column with his annual
NFL QB Tiers list that creates buzz and his red
(54:47):
meat for radio and podcast segments to sync their teeth into.
He's a writer who's in a tier of his own.
It's Mike Sando from the Athletic here on FNA on
Fox Sports Radio. Mike, how are you.
Speaker 9 (55:00):
I'm doing great and I'm doing better after that intro,
you can just keep talking.
Speaker 3 (55:03):
That was great, No, I appreciate it. Good to be here.
Speaker 2 (55:08):
We've got a lot to talk about too, Yes, sir,
let's go back to Thursday night. You know, I don't
want to be too harsh because I know they have
more issues than just him, his wide receivers not catching
passes at times. But you know, Kyler Murray, he's twenty
eight at this point. Has he peaked as a player?
Is he ever going to be consistent enough for you
(55:29):
to win at the highest level with No?
Speaker 3 (55:32):
I don't think he will be.
Speaker 9 (55:33):
I think he's he is what he is after seven years,
and there's good and bad with his style of play
and his size. There's limitations with his size. I think
you need to see that it's hard to be consistent
when you have a hard time seeing you're small and
you have to, you know, be making a lot of
(55:53):
your value beyond scrambling and running around. And even then
it's hard sometimes for him to deliver the ball accurately
down the field with enough strength. So I don't anticipate
those things getting better as he gets older. We also
know that, you know, from early in his career, there
were concerns about, you know, just his level of preparation.
I'm sure he's improved on that, but do I think
(56:15):
he's an elite preparer now? Who you know raises the
level of preparation for his team or any of those things.
I don't think so, you know, so, I think he
is what he is. He's good enough to, you know,
be the starting quarterback. But I don't think that he's
going to elevate a team or get them to another
level in the playoffs without having you know, a really
(56:36):
tough top defense or you know, a great run game
with that defense, that sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
Mike, what's your take on CJ. Stroud and his struggle
so far early this season? You know, he had issues
last year and year two with slowic, so they get
rid of him, bringing Nick Cayley, and it seems like
the offensive issues have continued in Houston. Is this one
of those examples? Is it from what you're seeing and
people you're talking to, is this an issue for him
of his and the way that he's playing, or is
it the issue of the talent and the scheme around
(57:04):
him that's causing him to underperform this year.
Speaker 3 (57:08):
I think it's more of what's around him, you know.
Speaker 9 (57:10):
I think, look, if he was a superstar, he'd probably
do a little bit better overcoming what's around him. But
I think we've seen that he can be good when
it's right around him.
Speaker 3 (57:20):
And I think that's still true.
Speaker 9 (57:22):
You know, they made changes that we're going to that
it is like they made changes on offense more to
make changes because they didn't like what they had before,
as opposed to definitely upgrading. So what I mean by
that is you change four to fifthy of your offensive
line and you get rid of Tunsul because they kind
of wanted to change the culture on their offensive line.
But on paper, are they more talented there? I would
(57:45):
say that's hard to say. And then number two, what's
the one unit on your team that takes the most
continuity and time together to be good? It's obvious the
offensive line. So you probably didn't get more talented and
you had a bunch of change on the offensive line.
I think out that makes it hard to.
Speaker 3 (58:01):
Be good right away. And C. J.
Speaker 9 (58:04):
Stroud has has had a hard time when when he's
had pressure and you can see that he's not he's not,
you know, not doing as well with that. I think
he also is not like he's a bad processor, but
I don't think he's He's just elite and super quick either.
So now you put pressure on him, lose some of
his confidence in his production, I think you get a
(58:26):
worst version of C. J.
Speaker 3 (58:27):
Stroud.
Speaker 9 (58:27):
They also took two rookie wide receivers that everybody liked
from Ohio State, but those guys at that position usually
need time. And then he got a new offensive coordinator
who had never.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Called plays before.
Speaker 9 (58:38):
So even if he's good in the right choice, do
we think he's going to be great right out of
the gates with all these new pieces. I don't think so.
So to me, that's a lot of things around him
that you know, are a factor for them early in
the year.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
Mike Sando from the Athletic is our guest here on
fn A on FSR. Mike gets early in the season,
but are you watching or seeing any quarterbacks like maybe
Herbert or Golf and thinking they could be moving into
the tier one of those NFL quarterback ratings coming up
next next offseason.
Speaker 9 (59:11):
Yeah, you know, Herbert has been close, and I think
he's probably gonna make it. I like what I'm seeing
from him. They're putting the ball in his hands more
a little bit early in the games, and that's been
a shift. I think he's done better in some of
those late game situations. They scored on their final two
drives last week against Denver to win. That was pretty cool. Obviously,
(59:32):
the big confidence building win against Kansas.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
City was big for them.
Speaker 9 (59:36):
So I think, you know, look, he's going to be
tough in the plass, but I think there's a much
better chance of Herbert finally winning a playoff game, breaking
through a little bit. I think that'll help him. I
think he does have a really good chance to be
in the top tier when we do it next year.
I'm not sure if Golf moved up this last year.
I just don't know that people perceive him to be,
(59:58):
you know, quite the same physically, But I think he
has a chance to go near the top of tier two.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Speaking of golf Let's transition to his former offensive coordinator,
Nahelk head coach in Chicago, Ben Johnson with Caleb Williams.
Do we think that Caleb has turned a corner based
on his performance last week? Or was he just taking
advantage of what looks like one of the worst defenses
in the NFL this year, the Dallas Cowboys secondary.
Speaker 9 (01:00:25):
Yeah, I think both those things can be a little
bit true. You know, I think surely the schedule has
helped there the last couple.
Speaker 3 (01:00:32):
Of games, But.
Speaker 9 (01:00:35):
You can't deny that he's looked better and he's thrown
the ball better on time. He hasn't been you know,
he could have easily had bad games against bad defenses,
that he was a bad quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:00:45):
So I am.
Speaker 9 (01:00:46):
Generally encouraged last couple of games. I think there's still
going to be some ups and downs, but I'm not
going to just write it off because of the level
of the competition. And what I want to see is
when they played better defenses and better teams that he's
not awful right to just be able to manage it
and hang in there and show some resilience and make
some place too, instead of having the six sac game
(01:01:10):
where it just looks like it's too fast for you.
And that's what we need to see as it goes along.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
Mike, do you see any semblance of logic with the
Cowboys trading Micael Parsons to the Packers. Who they'll see
this weekend is Jerry Jones. Does he have any defense
for this?
Speaker 9 (01:01:26):
I think there is a I'll say this, that's a
lot of money to pay for somebody if you don't
think that they are more than a special talent. And
so did they have concerns about him in terms of
his leadership or the way he works. Those are the
types of things behind the scenes that teams take into
(01:01:48):
consideration when deciding whether to go to that level forty
five million a year. So I think it remains to
be seen what they do with those resources. Is that
for good players for them in the future, But right now,
you know, it's hard to justify because they're so bad
rushing the passer.
Speaker 3 (01:02:08):
You could say, maybe they.
Speaker 9 (01:02:09):
Win, you know, at least one more game with Michael Parsons,
they just haven't even been able to, you know, Chase
Down of Jewen Hurts, you know, early in the season.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
That's sort of the thing.
Speaker 9 (01:02:19):
So I'd get it at that amount of money of
not just giving it to anybody if you have some reservations,
but they've got to really rebound from it well to
make it worthwhile.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Mike Sando of the Athletic joining us here on Fox
Football Saturday. Kevin figures in Adam Auslin fn A on FSR.
You know, while speaking of the Cowboys secondary, one of
the quarterbacks that lit them up was Russell Wilson, who
is now on the bench in New York in place
of Jackson Dart. Is this just a desperation move by
a Giants front office that knows that their jobs could
be in jeopardy, or do you think that they think
(01:02:53):
Jackson Dart gives them a legitimate shot to be competitive
in games more so than Russell Wilson.
Speaker 9 (01:02:58):
I think of those things are true, you know. I
think they Jackson Dirt was impressive in the preseason, and
he was impressive in camp, and coaches that saw him
and watched him thought this guy looks like he might
have it. So I think there is an excitement over
Jackson Dart that is real and probably somewhat justified.
Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
Now.
Speaker 9 (01:03:20):
They're also tired of looking at Russell Wilson clearly, and
they know, you know, the fans booing and wanting Jackson Dart.
There's definitely a component where if Brian Daball was in
his first season right now, I think there would be
a lot more chance that they would wait a few
couple more games. But the fact that he needs to
(01:03:41):
win now and the GM is under some pressure I
think does expedite how quickly they put.
Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
Him in mike. Which of these two teams can least
afford to start one in three between the Ravens and Chiefs,
who are playing each other, and if there's not a tie,
somebody's going to be one and three.
Speaker 9 (01:03:58):
You know, maybe it's maybe the Chiefs. I just believe
in the fundamentals of the Ravens more in terms of
I think they're going to be a really good offense
the whole year, and their defense in the past has
shown them the ability at least get better over the
course of the year. So I think they're going to
win games. I'm not that worried about their record. I
think the Chiefs they get to one and three in
(01:04:19):
that division, having you know, already lost, you know, to
the Chargers. Look, I'm not saying I'm going to miss
the playoffs, but like I'm a little bit more worried
about them being able to rebound and win eleven games,
whereas I think like the Ravens might win eleven games
even if they start one and three.
Speaker 3 (01:04:37):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 2 (01:04:38):
Yeah, And their division is right for the taking of
course right now, especially with Joe Burrow out.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
Yeah, yep, I agree.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
Mike. What's your your level book of concern for Michael
Pennix coming into year two as a starter. It just
hasn't happened for him yet. For whatever particular reason, he's
been fairly pedestrian. Even in that victory against the Vikings,
they mostly just bludging them. In the second half in
Pinnicks did to really do much. What are you saying
as a source of the struggle for Pinicks so far.
Speaker 9 (01:05:04):
Well, what worries me about that is just you know,
how desperate are they as a for an office and
coaching you know, staff to do this. I think it's
a weird situation with Kirk Cousins there. I think that's
less than ideal. Even the way Raheem Morris talked about Cousins,
he sort of you know, he kind of caught it
hit him with some strays and the press conference last week,
(01:05:26):
it was weird to me, just like, hey, of course
Penis is starting, Kirk got bench last year. You didn't
need to say that part, you know about about Kirk Cousins.
So it just feels it feels a little off to me.
And so I'm a little bit more worried about, Like
I like Penix, I'm just a little bit more worried
about the situation and the anxiety there just in the
building that I'm perceiving. They really need a win, and
(01:05:50):
so you know, we're losing thirty to nothing and replacing Penix.
I'm not willing to hold Panics too much to account
right now because of the situation and it's so early
for him.
Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
Mike.
Speaker 2 (01:06:02):
Much of the talk with your QB tier list was
about Jalen Hurts and where should he be and the
tush push and is it too gimmicky? They rely on
that too much? And now the conversation's back and it
feels like by next summer it could be outlawed. What's
your perception of Jalen Hurts if they no longer have
that option? Does he get lowered on your tiers list? Like?
Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
Is it something that they just rely upon far too much?
Speaker 3 (01:06:29):
I didn't think that before, you know too much.
Speaker 9 (01:06:32):
I sort of thought, as you know, a bullet in
their gun, but not the whole attack. And I think
it's two bullets in their gun now. They they had
where it was like seven times in a game, or
you know, a certain percentage of their places it was
pretty high, So I do think they would be hurt
without it. I think it does change the kind of
the calculus of how they play and being able to
(01:06:55):
be a four down offense a little bit more easily.
I give Jalen Hurts some credit though, Like they were
down nineteen points last week and won the game. It
wasn't like he was just you know, spraying it all
over the yard, but they hit a couple deep balls
and did what he had to do. So I think
his standing in the tiers will probably be just determined
by more the rest of the season, how he plays,
(01:07:16):
how far they go. And I think if they outlawed
the tush push, it'll be something people mention, but I
don't think it's going to just completely, you know, undermine
them all the way.
Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
Mike, I'm intrigued by the Cleveland Browns. Who was their
defense has played extremely well so far these first three games.
Even against Baltimore. I know it was a lopsided score,
but you know, lost fumble, pick six block punt that
certainly didn't help their calls. Now they have Junkins in
the mix, and he looks to be an impact player
based on last week. They keep Flacco healthy, do you
think it's possible they could jump up and bite a
(01:07:47):
few more teams like they did against Green Bay and
make anyone who took the under on that five win
total make them a little bit nervous.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Yeah, I'll buy that.
Speaker 9 (01:07:57):
You know, the problem is they've scored sixteen, seventeen and
thirteen points, so.
Speaker 3 (01:08:01):
You know you really have to you know, against the
Green Bay that probably shouldn't be enough. Against Detroit this week,
it probably shouldn't be enough.
Speaker 9 (01:08:08):
It maybe enough against Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Miami, New England.
Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
So I don't know how many of the.
Speaker 9 (01:08:14):
Top teams that they're going to beat, but I do
think that they're that defense, and you know, maybe just
a little bit of Okaynes's on, you know, with Flacco
and a decent runner can get them to that, like
you said, to maybe exceed their win total, just based
on some of these teams they're playing that look like
you know, I mentioned they're going to play Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Miami,
(01:08:38):
New England, the Jets, and then a couple of weeks
later the Raiders, a couple weeks later to the Titans.
There's enough teams in there that maybe that you know
their defense, maybe they win four of those games, you know,
and then you're at five.
Speaker 1 (01:08:49):
That's right, and last one here for you, Mike Mike
Sando of the Athletic joining us here FNA on FSR
you are a Pro Football Hall of Fame voter, and
the list of a thirteen first year candidates did come
out earlier this year. You don't have to give away
your vote unless unless you feel comfortable doing so. I'll
leave that up to you. But are there any players
on that list that you believe or should be slam
dunk first ballot guys? You know big names will be
(01:09:10):
like Larry Fitzgerald, Jason Witt and Drew Brees, Philip Rivers
and Frank Gore. Any of those guys do you think
in your mind I have a great chance of being
a first ballot guy.
Speaker 9 (01:09:19):
I think Drew Brees. If he's not, then we need
to reevaluate the process. I mean, come on. And then
Larry Fitzgerald too. I think he's a great player who
you know, let's not let's not forget how great he was.
He hung on a while and was just good. But man,
he was a great player, great playoff performer. Those two guys,
to me, be very surprised if they don't go right in.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Oh, Mike's a first ballot Hall of Famer and writer
in our book, and he does it for the athletic
Follow him at Sando NFL and read his latest for
The Athletic What Ails the NFL's six winless teams For
someone's obvious others might surprise you, Mike, no surprise. You
were fantastic here on fn A on FSR. Thanks so
much for doing this.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
Thank you. I had a good time. Yes next time?
Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
Yeah, so do we? Mike appreciate it. Bree got all
excited when Mike said that he thought Drew Brees was
a slam dunk first ballot Hall of Famer And how
could you disagree with him? I mean, Drew Brees, what
Lee's the league in passing yards? Super Bowl champion?
Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Why don't you ask Brett favre Well how he felt
being sacked inappropriately multiple times in that NFC championship game
in what two thousand and nine because they put a
bounty out on him? Kevin that pocket?
Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
That pocket? Look, I mean the pocket looked pretty clean
when he threw that interception in overtime.
Speaker 2 (01:10:34):
Do you want to give me the call? And how
that sounder on.
Speaker 1 (01:10:36):
The ri Detroit man, this is the Super Bowl bounty.
Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
Has nothing to do with Drew Brees' legacy. I just
want to say, whatever, well, what about helped him win
his Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:10:45):
I think that had something to do with it. I
will say, what about Mulgate.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
I mean, if you're going to end up being in
the top, you know, top tier, the top two or
three of all time leading passers in the league history,
sure he'd be a Hall of Famer. I think the
whether or not he'd be a first ballot, I think
maybe the Super Bowl championship puts that over the top.
But he was gonna get in regardless.
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
I get since you've had a deal with Spencer Rattler
as of late, that you're always gonna think very fondly
of the last great quarterback that played for the New
Orleans Saints and maybe one of the few outside of
Aaron Brooks. I liked Aaron Brooks. He put up some numbers.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
I did not because he did not put up, you know,
all the numbers he put up with the Raiders in
Oakland sack numbers. Look, John Merriman, former host and contributor
at Fox Sports Radio, had like seven sacks on opening
night against the Raiders in two thousand and five.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
I believe it was that happened. Did he tie the
all time record with the late great to Thomas and
you who am I thinking up from? The Giants had
seven sacks in a game, and of course Derek.
Speaker 1 (01:11:51):
Thomas, Yeah, I don't believe that Sean Merriman had seven,
but as sure as hell felt.
Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Like it, and he definitely celebrated a lot. And he's
still doing some celebrating now whenever his Chargers win, which
is often yeah these days. All right, speaking of we
may be talking to Chargers coming up next. We got
our beer Goggles game and our old Troy potential game
in the NFL six pack. You're listening to FNA on FSR.
Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
FNA, oh figures and Adam, I get it. That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:12:43):
Coming up, we will get back into college football. We
mentioned what happened earlier tonight with Florida State fallowing Number
eight goes down, it takes them out.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
A trap game. You they play against Miami next weekend.
That would have been a top ten matchup between them
and the Hurricanes for the first time since twenty thirteen.
Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
Perhaps they were looking this game for some reason.
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
Not gonna be the case now because florist State is
definitely going to drop after losing to Virginia.
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
We do have more NFL six pack to get into, though,
and we want to tell you about our old Troy
potential pick before we play this sound, because you need
to know what this means. This means this game could
have an epic fail in it. Someone could lose in
horrific fashion. Somebody could blow a game, somebody could miss
a kick. Because this sound you're about to hear right
(01:13:27):
now happened in twenty sixteen when Blair Walsh in a
wild card game for the Vikings versus the Seahawks, only
had to kick a twenty six yarder to give the
Vikings the victory. But this old man named Troy was
watching it, and thank goodness, this Vikings fan was recorded.
Speaker 10 (01:13:43):
Oh my god, Oh my god, I'm so sorry, Yeah,
(01:14:06):
old Troy, the old man breaking his cane there watching
Blair Walsh miss that field goal.
Speaker 2 (01:14:12):
Kevin, you got no Troy potential? Pick I do.
Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Now I'm going to the Raiders, who can get run
off of the field by this resurgent, dominant Chicago Bears offense. Now,
as much optimism as there was for the Raider fans
coming into the season, anyone who was truly realistic knew
it was gonna take a little bit of time to
get this thing going. Yes, they looked okay against New England,
but it also took hell Mary, not quite a hell Mary,
(01:14:36):
but a third and twenty conversion from Gino Smith to
actually seal that game against the Patriots, who are one
of the worst teams in the NFL. So there's no
designs that the Raiders were as world beaters by any
stretch of the imagination. The Chargers bludging them obviously, and
then Washington just ran them off of the field and
the nation's capital last week. So now incomes a Bears
team that's riding high off of that dominant victory over
(01:14:59):
Dallas where Caleb Boy had probably his best day.
Speaker 2 (01:15:02):
I was a pro definitely, that was one of the
best days by any Bears quarterback period.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
That is true. Now the bar was extremely low too.
Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
I think it was the first time someone had four
touchdowns to zero interceptions. Did Jay Cutler center for the
Bears since Rex Grossman.
Speaker 1 (01:15:17):
Rex gross Rex Grossman actually had a game for the
Bears where he did not throw an interception, feast or famine.
I gotta check those stats. I don't believe those stats
all right.
Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
Maybe it was just the four touchdowns part he did,
but he also had four picks that game.
Speaker 1 (01:15:28):
I gotta look into that. But this will be another
big test really for both Caleb Williams and the Bears offense,
but mostly for this Raider team in general. But if
that Chicago offense is going to continue off of that
momentum from last week, and that Raider offensive line continues
to struggle to open up holes for Ashton Gentz like
it has, I think Vegas could be in line for
an eight to fourteen point loss. I know I said
earlier when talking about the Broncos and the Bengals that
(01:15:51):
it's rare that a team gets run off the field
in consecutive weeks. Considering how the Raiders have played, I
can actually see that happening. The Raiders suck even with
him being in a home So I actually think the
Raiders do respond at this in this game and actually
do end up winning it. But it would not surprise me.
There is potential here for the thing to fall off
the cliff completely and for the Bears to pick up
(01:16:13):
their second consecutive blowout victory, this time at the expense
of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Speaker 2 (01:16:18):
Okay, I will give you my old Troy game.
Speaker 1 (01:16:21):
I'll try. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:16:26):
I think this has o Troy potential for both sides.
Is Micah Parsons returns to Dallas, where like what happened
in Luca's return this year, the fans there might give
him a standing ovation the Cowboys fans for a guy
who left them and was traded, of course.
Speaker 1 (01:16:43):
But fire Jerry Schanz like there were fire Nico chants possibly,
and though you.
Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Can't fire the owner like Luca did, Micah's team might
give up forty five points to this Dallas defense. Luca
had forty five against the Dallas Mavericks defense. But what
if what if the Pack lose I mentioned earlier, they
could be questioning themselves after losing to the Browns. What
(01:17:07):
if somehow they get beat by Jerry Jones's Cowboys and
he gets the last laugh since he's old enough where
he might not see just how bad this trade ends up.
Oh but look, unlike Cowboys fans, I hope Jerry lives forever.
I think he's an interesting character. I didn't need to
see the Netflix doc to know that Jerry is good
(01:17:27):
for the league. Honestly, he is alleged.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
In many ways, more ways than one. That's a bigger
reason why the league is as successful as it is
monetarily and everywhere else because of him.
Speaker 2 (01:17:35):
And this Sunday night is the closest they're going to
get to another Super Bowl for him, because I promise
you they aren't going to the actual super Bowl anytime soon.
You could have made that promise the last twenty nine
years and never been proven wrong. I want Jerry to
be proven right, or at least believe he was proven
right by the Cowboys winning this game against the Packers.
(01:17:56):
I want to see him stunting afterwards outside this stadium
with this Cadillac with the steer horns on the front
of it. I want those Jerry Chance like it's Jerry
Springer Jerry Cowboys win this game.
Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
Jerry Jones is gonna be like Marshawn Lynch when he
was at cow and he jumped into the cart and
started to start driving it on the on the field. Yes,
he's gonna drive out to midfield and hold his postgame
press conference that he has after every single game on
the Star. You see this broadcast on the giant screen
at the top of the stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
He's gonna be on the Star like t O was
that one's rhyme arms red White t hit him. You know,
there's something about me getting older, rooting for the older
guys to get one over on everyone else. When I'm
watching the UFC fight, I'm always going with the older guy.
This is how I work.
Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
But birds of a feather hanging with your with the
the older, uh, the senior, the senior circuit there at the.
Speaker 3 (01:18:51):
Hold it is.
Speaker 1 (01:18:53):
Yeah, that's all right.
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
Still shame Look, oh, Troy is also an old guy
who hopefully is still with us after breaking his cane
watching Blair Walsh missed that field go back in the day,
and this epic fail for the Packers could happen with
the Cowboys beating them, and that would mean Jerry Jones
would be very happy because Micah Parsons and this whole
(01:19:16):
saga that's been going on for a while. I don't know.
This is the biggest game of the season for the
Dallas Cowboys. I do know that.
Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
Probably doesn't say much for their for their prospects. I
will say, just from a national TV standpoint and all
the perception and all the talk, but if you're Dallas
and you had designs of making the postseason, this is
the biggest game of your season, doesn't say much for you.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
This on Sunday at Football Kevin for a reason, Carrie
Underwood is doing the song who once dated Tony Romo,
a former Dallas quarterback. I mean, come on, way to
connect the dots there, it's my quarterback. She didn't wear
the pink jersey like Jessica did. Jessica Simpson back in
the day when they were off in Cabo As. He
had a week off because they had the bye, just
(01:19:56):
to lose to Was it the Eagles or the Giant?
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
This is probably the correct answer there. Okay, fair enough,
I will say so after green Bay they do have
the Jets your Panthers, Okay, win. I mean there's some
soft landings there potentially now. Granted, as bad as the
Cowboys have been this year, there are probably no such
thing as a soft landing. But if they could find
a way to sneak past Green Bay, who again, if
they can lose to Cleveland, they can lose to anybody.
(01:20:20):
The Panthers might or the Cowboys might find themselves back
in this back in this NFC playoff race.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
They could have an eight win season. It would be
beautiful eight and nine. That would be a big victory
for this Cowboys team, right, Honestly, that might be a
big victory for me.
Speaker 1 (01:20:35):
It would because you're one of the few people standing
on the side of that. The Cowboys were on the
right side of the Parsons Street.
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
Mike Sando kinda said, you know, they had to pay
him a ton of money. I could see some logic
and rationale for moving a guy that you're paying one
hundred and eighty eight million or whatever it was Green
Bay gave Micah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
But then he also came around to saying, but I
wouldn't do it, though, damn it.
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
I know what we're gonna do.
Speaker 1 (01:20:55):
On the other side, We're gonna continue the NFL six
pack FNA on FSR, don't listening to Fox Sports really?

Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
Final lot. With the show, we'll get into the big
matchups in college football coming up this weekend, as well
as two on two off. But Mark, right now, let's
wrap up the NFL six pack. What's the next game?
Speaker 3 (01:21:30):
Beer Goggles Gate?
Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
Yes, the beer Goggles game, the ugly matchup that might
actually end up being fairly entertaining. Adam, what do you have?
Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
All right? Honestly, I'm gonna need to borrow the beer
goggles that were on Whatever executive thought putting the Jets
and Dolphins game on Monday night football was a good idea.
Speaker 1 (01:21:45):
I'll save us some time and say this is mine
as well.
Speaker 2 (01:21:47):
I need whatever that person or that team of people
were drinking, because that's a tough sell. And I guess
their best point would be, Hey, don't worry it's just
the first of two games. So if you miss yes,
no big d you know we got the Bengals and
Broncos afterwards, which on paper made sense. Here's how drunk
I'm gonna have to be in order to think this
(01:22:09):
Jets Dolphins game is worth watching. I'm talking plaster to
the point where you don't know what year it is.
You're gonna be drinking in a hot tub time machine,
so you're also dehydrated, which adds to the abv's potency,
and you're gonna think it's nineteen ninety four.
Speaker 1 (01:22:25):
All I thought you were gonna say, You just gonna
think it's Bob Greasy, you know, taking on Vinny Testaverdi
or something.
Speaker 2 (01:22:31):
Okay, maybe not quite that far in our time travel here.
Speaker 1 (01:22:36):
Or Broadway, Joe, why not.
Speaker 2 (01:22:37):
I'm thinking of the most notable Jets Dolphins game of
my lifetime, and it's the Marino game where of course
he does the fake spike, throws the touchdown to mark
Ingram Senior. They complete a seventeen point comeback on the Jets.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
I was thinking of the Monday Night another comeback, which
it was a Jay feeler I think, and the Dolphins
got out to a huge lead and the Jets came
back storming back. I think they were down like twenty
one points or something like that in the second half
and they came back and won.
Speaker 2 (01:23:08):
All I know is the Louise quebet oh ain't kreebet.
The loser of this game is going to end up
one in four. But make no mistake, the team that
comes out one in three is also a loser, and
so is ESPN for scheduling this matchup on Monday. An
football Well.
Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
Yes, and I do think that Mike McDaniel could be
this could be his last stand if things don't go
well in this matchup. Now, they were competitive last week
against Buffalo, so I guess you'd give them that, But
the Jets, who regardless of who's playing quarterback, and we
still don't know quite yet whether or not justin fields
were clear protocol. I do think there's a potential of
some points to be scored in this game, so I
do think it could potentially be a high scoring game,
(01:23:43):
and that's why it might end up being somewhat entertaining.
Speaker 2 (01:23:46):
All Right, what's our next category here?
Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Mark under the microscope the game player or team Everyone
should watch closely, and I'm going to go back to
that Green Bay Dallas game and say Jordan Love, because yes,
he threw that big interception at the end of that
Browns game. Scar did not put up really good numbers
and really all season long, all season, it's only been
a few weeks. Hasn't really broken out and taken the
next step that a lot of people I think thought
(01:24:09):
he might. So, like I said last week with Caleb Williams,
if you are going to break out and have a
humongous performance, Jordan Love, this is the week to do it.
When you welcome in the Dallas Cowboys in that sieve
of a secondary. I know Darn Bland is back. He's
a really good player, but he can't cover everybody. And
Trayvon Diggs is as overrated as he gets. He's not
a bad player, but he gambles. He gets beat all
(01:24:31):
the time. He got beat deep beat twice last week.
It happens all the time.
Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
It reminds me of who is it, Samuel Senior, Sante Samuel,
he was feast or famine. He getta pick six or
he'd give up a touchdown?
Speaker 1 (01:24:43):
Right, And I think Samuel is even better than Treyvon Diggs.
But yes, swort offs that same milk. So I do
think if Jordan Love is going to break out and
turn into the player that we think he's going to be,
and the Packers are going to ascend to be Adams
Packers who are going to win the Super Bowl, I
need that they need something in that past game. They're
gonna needs to be able to make some plays. So
if he can't do it this week against Dallas, I
(01:25:05):
am severely questioning your choice a Super Bowl contenter coming
out of the NFC. They're Adham if they can't make
the four pass against Dallas.
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
So our teams my under the microscope game. I'm going
with the Atlanta Falcons, not just because they somehow lost
to my Carolina Panthers thirty to nothing, which is beyond
pathetic and should probably get your entire team suspended for
a week to give you time to think about what
you've done. That's truly a timeout situation. I need to
go to India and find myself or something and rethink
what I'm doing with my life. Losing thirty nut to
(01:25:33):
nothing to the Panthers should have you considering a different profession.
Football might not be the thing for you.
Speaker 1 (01:25:39):
You should be relegated, is what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Oh, yeah, they should all be feeling feeling like they're
in a tenuous situation, just like their new kicker is
John Parker Romo, who replaced everyone's favorite kicker Young Hoku's.
Speaker 1 (01:25:52):
Young Young Wayku. Yes, is that right as Young Way's
house pronounced?
Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:25:57):
We went through this when he was with the Chargers
and he was awful with him a few years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:26:00):
Fred Rogan messed me up with this pronunciation. This is
his fault.
Speaker 1 (01:26:04):
Sounds about right.
Speaker 2 (01:26:05):
He kicked one hundred and eighty one of two hundred
and eleven career field goals correctly. That's pretty good. Initially,
though this moved to John Parker Romo looked good. He
went five for five, but then he missed two kicks
last time out against the Panthers and that thirty to
nothing loss. So Tony Romo couldn't put a snap down
(01:26:25):
for a kicker as a holder, and his brother, John
Parker Romo may not hold onto his job very long.
Related Okay, maybe, dot, but this team has had a
revolving door of kickers for a while. That's the type
of hell that can drive fans crazy. I want to
see how this turns out against the Commanders this weekend,
who will be without their starting quarterback in Jaden Daniels.
(01:26:48):
All right, well, this game is actually in my final
category there, mark redemption roud.
Speaker 1 (01:26:53):
Yes, looking to bounce back from last week is the
Atlanta Falcons. We talked about the struggles of Michael Pennings,
We brought that up with Mike Sando earlier. Aayden Daniels
out for the second consecutive game, no Terry McLaurin. So
this is a chance for the Falcons to actually turn
around from last week's embarrassing performance against your Panthers and
see if they can make some hay against what still
is a really good NFC team. And if Atlanta has
(01:27:14):
any hopes of making the postseason and staying in the
AFC or excuse me, the NFC South Race, they're gonna
have to get a victory against Washington, and I think
this is the week to do it without Jayden Daniels,
without Terry McLaurin.
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
All right, my redemption round. You know I was wrong
about a lot last week, a lot last Sunday, as
many of us were, as it was the only day
in NFL history to feature multiple pick sixes, multiple punt
returns for touchdowns, multiple block field goals return for touchdowns,
and was the only day since the nineteen seventy merger
(01:27:46):
to have seven NFL games with a game winning score
in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter. But
one game that was decided long before the first quarter
was over. Oh that game happened in Seattle, in a
game I could have been more right about. At the
New Orleans Saints lost forty four to thirteen and it
wasn't even that close. Is Robert Salez still saying, you know,
(01:28:09):
Spencer Rutler's a bright future here, because if you mean
bright as in he was seeing the heavens when they
were down by thirty five before the end of the
first half, just for rookie head coach Kellen Moore to
elect to kick a field goal to shave it to
thirty two by the end of the first half, which
honestly is disgraceful. If you are any self respecting Saints fan,
(01:28:31):
which is something that I guess doesn't exist, you should
want your coach fired if they're playing not to win,
but to just make the score look more respectable.
Speaker 1 (01:28:40):
What was the point spread?
Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
That's a good question. But in the first half point spread,
I don't know. Kellen Moore basically said, no way we
can actually go forward on fourth down, down five scores
and actually act like we're seriously trying to win a
professional football game.
Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
I need someonement. I'm going into the half there.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
Yeah, you know, put some makeup on this pig kick
a field goals. So instead of thirty eight to three
at the half, it's thirty eight to six. That's so
much better. Absolute loser mentality, Kevin. So, I'm gonna take
a page out of Kellen Moore's book of pathetic moral
victories and say the Saints are gonna redeem themselves this
week by not being down as bad as they were.
(01:29:19):
They're not gonna beat Buffalo in Buffalo, but their redemption
round is just them not getting down by thirty five
in the first half to the Buffalo Bills. I'm confident
they can accomplish that.
Speaker 1 (01:29:30):
Oh I'm not.
Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
That's progress if they do.

out of this hour, we of course have to get
give you our NFL picks in two on two off.
Speaker 1 (01:30:59):
Yeah, but before we got to that ad and we
got a big weekend in college football coming up.
Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
Yeah, especially coming off of last weekend where you know, Kevin,
I think I figured it out why Illinois was not favored, Dana, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:31:11):
You were sitting on this one, weren't you, like coming
next kick me square in.
Speaker 2 (01:31:14):
The balls on this shoe too, Like I had any
idea nobody did. Obviously, was Indiana favored by five and
a half or something like that? Where did they win
by sixty three to ten?
Speaker 1 (01:31:24):
You know who knew Indiana's head coach, Kurt Signetti who
after the game. Going into this week's game against Iowa,
he was like, Yeah, we're gonna have a much tougher
challenge this week than we had this past week. Let
me tell you that. Just no mercy on Iowa and
Kirk Farans at all.
Speaker 2 (01:31:38):
Hey, I like it. I like the cut of his jib,
I like the way he rolls.
Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
He is an arrogant ahole and I'm here for it.
By the way, last year when he got hired, at
Indiana's introductory press conference, people were asking about his credentials
and how good he is, and he said google me
like he is you.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Kind of and he's like Kevin Garnett, you know who
the hell I am? I mean, yeah, who the hell
I am?
Speaker 1 (01:31:58):
And there's an element of if you're going to the
head coach at a place like Indiana, you almost have
to have that sort of confidence.
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
UCLA needs a hire they do, Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:32:06):
Absolutely, you know what they did. Ucla actually poached his
offensive coordinator from last year. That's what they've done. Wonders
for them, by the.
Speaker 2 (01:32:14):
Way, So okay, maybe that wasn't So this.
Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
Is not This is not a Dan Hawkins Peterson situation.
In Boise statement, people say like, oh, Hawkins was just there.
Peterson was the guy. No one is saying that about
Cinceri who came over from Indiana to UCLA, because they
are just as bad, if not worse than they were
last year offensively in Indiana just keeps on going.
Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
Well, I still like the matchup potential of USC versus
what's left of Illinois after what Indiana did today.
Speaker 1 (01:32:40):
Well, that's the thing, because now Illinois has a I
wouldn't call it a revenge factor, but like, do you
know who the hell we are? We don't get our
asses kicked. Yeh, blam is our head coach. We win
the line of scrimmage. This is how we play.
Speaker 2 (01:32:50):
Oh they got completely embarrassed.
Speaker 1 (01:32:51):
Oh absolutely run off of the field from from off
the jump. It was incredible.
Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
You would expect a big response from them. But they're
taking on a team in some ways that similar to
Indiana and USC with how balanced their offensive attack has
been so far this season.
Speaker 1 (01:33:05):
For once, I mean, this is what Lincoln Riley's offenses
in Oklahoma used to look like. They had Joe Mixon
and some ij Peter. I mean they had guys who
were running for three hundred yards.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
They led to the college football in yards per Russia attempt.
You're in and year out.
Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
You wouldn't think that based on the USC tenure with
Caleb Williams winning heights bans and throwing the ball left
or right. No run game to speak of. And that's
mostly because their offensive line have been terrible. They just
did not do a good job of recruiting the offensive
line that they have improved at that one. I think
a big reason is they've retained a lot of guys
and cultivated guys on their offensive line within their program,
and those guys have grown together and all of a sudden,
(01:33:39):
to your point, they're one of the most balanced offenses
in the entire country.
Speaker 2 (01:33:43):
Now they aren't taking on Missouri State or Georgia, Southern
Orkay Perdue, or even Michigan State.
Speaker 1 (01:33:50):
Who actually gave him a run. That Michigan State game
was closer than the final score at indicate and USC.
I'm sorry to cut you off there, but they couldn't
get out of their own way with penalties, and that
is something that is plague them regardless of who they
played this year. US. He continues to shoot themselves in
the foot with big penalties. You are not gonna put
yourself in CFP contention in the Big Ten playing that
(01:34:10):
way when you start playing better matchups like Oregon and
Penn State.
Speaker 3 (01:34:13):
And the like.
Speaker 2 (01:34:13):
And what we thought was gonna be their first true
test this season against Illinois, they haven't been tested yet.
Illinois at least has the bounce back factor and being
at home in their favor, So USC it's come down
to do they have to actually win with style points
to impress us against Illinois after what Indiana did against Illinois, like,
we're not gonna care if it's a close ballgame.
Speaker 1 (01:34:36):
Now, maybe I do think there's tiers within the Big
Ten conference at this point in time, Oregon, Ohio State,
and Penn State. I think you kind of set themselves
apart at the top, and then all of a sudden,
believe it or not, then you have USC Indiana. I
think I will still put Illinois in that kind of
second tier where you're still fighting for still a potential
playoff spot, but we know you're not the elite of
(01:34:56):
the elite in the conference. As weird as that is
to say for a US football program, that's kind of
where they are right now. So what they want to
do is make sure they're at the top of that
second rung of teams in the Big Ten, still competing
for a lower playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
Spot, and if they do go off offensively again this
week against better competition, Jade Mayava, with how dynamic he's looked,
he's gonna be at the top of the Heisman race.
With how many guys have fallen from what we thought
we're going to be Heisman contenders this season, it opens
up a window for other guys to jump through.
Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
I don't know if he'll be at the top. He
might be, but that's going to be contingent on what
happens in the biggest Big Ten matchup of the day,
and that is when Penn State takes on Oregon. Yeah,
because a guy that a few people are talking about
is that quarterback at Oregon, Dante Moore, who's transferred out
of UCLA, who's also putting up stupid, ridiculous numbers without
his best receiver, by the way, who tore up his
(01:35:50):
knee in practice in the offseason. He's been kind of
just been a distributor that Chris Paul just distributed to
a bunch of different guys, and they're lighting people up.
And before you say it, Adam, I say, you're not
wearing your formerly green turned brown Oregon hat that used
to wear some years.
Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
Ago it was yellow too, retired, righty retired that one
bored into the ground, he really did.
Speaker 1 (01:36:12):
So Dante Moore's been out of his mind now. Granted
they haven't played anybody, No, they played Power five opponents,
but Oklahoma State really, I mean, I love the old
Civil War whatever they call it now with Oregon State,
but kind of really teetering as to whether or not
they're even a Power Conference at this point in time.
Speaker 2 (01:36:28):
Yeah, they're part of the PAC twelve Zombie Conference. What's
left of it? They're leftover.
Speaker 1 (01:36:33):
Oh, they're gonna be real resurrected next year, Adam. When
they bring in schools like you know, Texas State, they're
gonna be resurrected San Diego State.
Speaker 2 (01:36:39):
The rapture was all these teams from the PAC twelve
going to the Big ten and those who were left over,
the left behind the bars with Kirk Cameron, that would
be what Oregon State, Washington.
Speaker 1 (01:36:52):
State, Oregon State, Washington State. They're gonna bring San Diego
State with them, and a couple of other dregs. No disrespect,
but I mean it really really just a mount and West.
We asked Petros about this a couple of weeks ago.
If everybody just, you know, put their heads together when
we're smart about this, the Mountain West and the PAC
twelve should just merge under the PAC twelve umbrella to stick.
Speaker 2 (01:37:08):
That makes the whole sense religious theme here. They're both
in purgatory. Until that happens exactly, they will be combining
at some point like Devastator with the Transformers.
Speaker 1 (01:37:18):
Yes, so Oregon has not played anybody, but that would
say they've looked extremely impressive in the games they've played in.
Now you can also say that against their opponent. Yeah,
Penn State, who's also looked very impressive, but have literally
played nobody this year. There's not even a full Power
five opponent in their schedule so far this year.
Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
And it turns out nobody has more issues when they
do play somebody than Penn State when it comes to
higher expectation.
Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
Do you know what James Franklin's record against top five
teams is and it's Penn State tenure?
Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
Okay, against top five? I got top ten, Top ten
is great, it sucks too more and twenty against top
ten teams in the regular season. Now that also includes
and I didn't think either of these wins were that impressive.
I know technically they were in the tournament last year
(01:38:06):
with the new twelve team playoff, but that includes SMU
and Boise State. They had the easier path, you could say,
to then eventually lose to Notre Dame. I believe it
was yep, give me the top five that they beat
any teams that were top five?
Speaker 3 (01:38:21):
One?
Speaker 1 (01:38:21):
Is it? One in fifteen, one in thirteen, thirteen, one,
and thirteen against top five teams in his tenure and
that one was. I don't even know, to be honest
with you for disclosure.
Speaker 2 (01:38:30):
I think it was. Honestly, I think it might have
been Ohio State back in twenty sixteen, Like it goes
back that fall.
Speaker 1 (01:38:36):
You know what, You're right, because that was the year
that Ohio State actually won the National championship and there
was debate as to whether or not they should have
made it, and people tried to use that Penn State
loss on a fluky play. If I remember, there was
a FLUKEI special teams play at the end of that
game or something.
Speaker 2 (01:38:49):
Had to be it's a fluky win for Penn State
given their track record.
Speaker 1 (01:38:51):
I mean, yeah, that ended up and I think that
was the year that Ezekiel Elliott and Ohio State ended
up winning the national championship if I remember correctly.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
When you have a history like this that goes back
damn near decade with James Franklin, what do you pin
this on? Because obviously it's different teams, it's different players,
but they consistently underperform in the biggest games. It's easy
to say it's just on James Franklin. But is there
any more specificity we can get into of why.
Speaker 1 (01:39:17):
Well, maybe I'm sure, and everything is a case by
case basis. I will say there have been a handful
of games throughout his tenure where his play calling, his
game management has come into question, and he's kind of
been labeled as one of these guys who's a phenomenal recruiter,
but not to use a cliche, but kind of when
the rubber meets the road, when you need the right
play call, where you need the right strategy at the
end of a game, he kind of the game kind
(01:39:37):
of moves too fast forward and he doesn't end up
making the best decisions in crunch time situations against quality opponents.
So that is the bugaboo that's been plaguing him over
his tenure.
Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
Dusty Baker eventually won a World Series, so anything's possible
even with these coaches. Andy Reid was no as for
the game speeding up on him and his team's coming
up a little bit short. You give it enough time,
James Franklin will deliver.
Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
I will say this about James Franklin. What helps him
is the fact that the playoff has expanded, because I mean,
Penn State is a blue blood program. They're one of
the best in the Big Ten. They're probably a shoeing
to win at least ten games a year, and in
the Big Ten Conference, that's probably gonna make you a
shoeing to make the postseason. So unless and until Penn
State gets to a point where they're like the Cincinnati
Bengals under Marvin Lewis and just making the playoffs, saying
(01:40:19):
good enough for thirteen years in a row, I remember that,
or whatever it is, he has a pretty long run
away because he's gonna pretty much make the postseason. One
thing that Penn State has in their favor they got
a heck of a lot of guys coming back. Both
of their running backs were stars last year. Came back.
Drew Aller, who I've never been a big fan of,
and if you want to say that he come back,
comes back, came back and gave them some stability at
the quarterback position. As a veteran shore, I think even
(01:40:40):
in their losses, you look at the final scores, they're lopsided.
Some of those games were closer than I think they
probably should have been.
Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
And he's never putting up three hundred yards the barometer
for a good starting quarterback. Give me a few games
here and there where you're the driving force for why
we won now here is what at least Penn State.
Speaker 1 (01:40:59):
Hanks will say, he doesn't need to against lesser competition.
We're holding something back. They're basically used these first three
weeks of the season as the preseason before they get
ready for Oregon. So they're kind of taking the foot
off the gas. They're being very basic. Maybe there's something
to that to a certain degree, but that's also sort
of like they're flipping the light switch situation. Wouldn't you
want to be rolling on all cylinders coming into one
(01:41:21):
of the best matchups you're gonna have all season long. Yeah,
and you're really not sharpening those callouses to play against
great competition if you're just coasting through the first start
of the season. Because Oregon has put their foot on
the gas full speed since Game one, regardless of who
they're playing.
Speaker 2 (01:41:35):
Oh, they are holding back.
Speaker 1 (01:41:36):
They're not going to throttle down. Now you're asking Penn
State after a bye week, so after playing nobody then
having a bye now having to throttle up. I think
that can be really difficult to do.
Speaker 2 (01:41:45):
So I think I know where you're going with this.
But considering Penn State is at home, considering they are
higher ranked than Oregon.
Speaker 1 (01:41:52):
It's a wide out night game NBC. I don't know
this for a fact, but I hope our guy know
what Eagles on the call for that one.
Speaker 2 (01:41:57):
Oregon beat them last year in that's a PAC ten
title game or excuse me ten title game. Who's this
game more important for?
Speaker 1 (01:42:08):
I honestly think it's more important for Penn State, even
tho they're higher ranked. I think for the James Franklin
mental psyche for for that fan base. Just knowing the
stats we threw out earlier about their rankings against or
their record against Top ten teams, top five teams, up
with all that stuff, I think they need it more Oregon,
and I think we're at a point in college football
now too. Either of these teams can take a loss
and still end up being completely fine on the playoff.
Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
Of course, especially being in the Big Ten, they're gonna
give you more of the benefit of the doubt that
you're taking on great competition.
Speaker 1 (01:42:35):
Right, so that helps you. If you're a Big ten
team or an SEC team, you can still make the
playoff fairly easily with one or even two losses in
the regular season. So from a fewer one los win
lost standpoint. I don't know how big of a deal
it really is for either team, but I think from
a mental psyche standpoint, at home, wide out night game,
National TV, nbcpcock it's not a must win for Penn State,
(01:42:57):
but it's as close to a must win as you
can have in the first month of a regular season
in college football.
Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
You know, it's funny though, even if Penn State wins
and people are gonna be like, oh, James Franklin got
the monkey off his back, No he didn't. Oregon is
ranked sixth. They're not a top five team, damnit.
Speaker 1 (01:43:12):
I guess that's technically true.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
They easily could be, but yeah, I agree with you.
It's definitely more pressure on Penn State being at home
and being the team that needs to prove it against
the league competition. Uh, somebody that I guess needs to
prove it against their arrival.
Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
Georgia is one in six against Bama with Kirby Smart.
Speaker 1 (01:43:31):
That's Kirby versus yeah, Saban mostly, but.
Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
They haven't got him in Athens. This is a true
home game for them. Bama's ranked seventeenth. Georgia is fifth
ranked in the AP Poll. This is interesting because of
the Georgia comeback against Tennessee and also Alabama kind of
turning things around. They haven't been fully tested, but they
look better than they did the opening week.
Speaker 1 (01:43:53):
You could say it couldn't look much worse than they
did opening week. People calling them out saying players are
just giving up on plays and players at Florida State
players are running free in the second and guys just
shrugging their shoulders like I keep go ahead.
Speaker 2 (01:44:02):
I thought the borg might get fired within the first
three weeks, like Deshan Foster.
Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
Yeah, a lot of people thought that might be possible.
I do think this is a big game for Kaitlyn
de Bor though, to be able to look Georgia. Even
as good as they are, these are still not you know,
quote unquote your daddy's Georgia Bulldogs. They're very talented, obviously,
but I still think they're vulnerable, and I think Tennessee
kind of showed that a couple of weeks ago. So way,
Ty Simpson's playing for Alabama and many people question how
good he actually was being the starting quarterback and whether
(01:44:28):
or not, well, he's there, he's been here for five
seven years, however long it's been. Throw him in there
see what he can do. He's actually making some plays
for the Tide right now. They're gonna get their best
running back, Jim Miller I believe is his name. He's
been out since the summer, hasn't played all season long.
He's an experienced guy. He's the best tailback they've had,
and they've not really been able to run the ball
at all. If they're gonna be able to beat Georgia,
they're going to have to be able to run the
football a little bit.
Speaker 2 (01:44:49):
I gotta be honest. I think Georgia's like minus three
in this game. I feel pretty confident in taking them.
I'm not saying this is part of my two on
two off faces the bonus pick. Okay, outside the line
here a little bit a side note. I just feel
like Georgia finally getting them at home against Obama team
that's not nearly as good as some of the ones
that beat them in the past. Absolutely, they may put
(01:45:11):
a route on them if they get up early.
Speaker 1 (01:45:13):
I would not be shocked if Gunners Stockton had not
been playing the way that he's playing recently, I probably
would have disagreed with you. But considering how this offense is,
vote has opened up and you mentioned that Tennessee game,
getting down big and find a way to fight back
and get back into that thing and come back and win.
I think I agree with you. I don't know if
they run them off the field. I kind of like
that three point spread. I can see this being a
one possession game for sure. I don't think Alabama, you know,
(01:45:34):
lies down and rolls over. But to your point, I
also don't think they necessarily win this one either. I
think think george is better. Again, Georgia is vulnerable, but
even within that, I think Georgia is better than Alabama.
Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
What about the number one team in the country, Ohio State,
the defending champs going.
Speaker 1 (01:45:53):
So this is kind of like a sexy pick for
pundits out there. So the Ohio State barrow watch out maybe.
I mean, Ohio State is just so much more so
more talented than Washington. And I know that doesn't always
equate itself to you know, playing well and beating a team.
It is a hostile environment. Anybody that's played at Husky
Stadium up there will tell you that it's one of
a very hostile environment. Washington's played great this year too.
Speaker 2 (01:46:15):
Yeah, they have won twenty two straight at home. That's
only behind Georgia for the longest home winning streaking college football.
Speaker 1 (01:46:21):
Yeah, that is true. And look, I do think Washington
can keep this thing close. Julian's saying his first true
you know, road game in conference in a tough environment, saying,
but don't I do. I don't think that Ohio State
has a huge issue here. If anything, at him, I
would say that Washington probably hangs in around halftime. I
can see this being seventeen to ten something like that.
Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
What about this Washington quarterback at Williams, He's been good,
He's a good dual threat guy. That dual threat part
of this does throw a different wrinkle in when somebody
gets beat that is this highly ranked like Ohio State.
I do wonder about a dual threat quarterback just going
off and having a day and thinking he's Vince Young
and the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:46:58):
That is true. I would have more issues with this
of Ohio State hadn't been tested. Now, granted, I mean
Texas played better last week, but it was sam Houston State,
but they weren't tested early on.
Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
In the cream Manning, you want to talk your jump
against Sam Houston State. Fine, Now, the rest of the
SEC schedules coming.
Speaker 1 (01:47:13):
Apparently he said his mom gave him a talking to
after that and she told him never do that again,
and to your appoints in the family name to your point,
if you are going to do it, save that for Oklahoma,
don't do it to Sam Mus. Apparently the defensive lineman
or the defensive back he was talking to was Jawn
Adam earlier in the game or something.
Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
But even still, if it's in the heat of battle,
is that natural and it wasn't performative like he was
planning on doing something just to show he's got some
edge out there. I'm okay with it, which that's just
who he is.
Speaker 1 (01:47:39):
Does this seem to be his natural personality based on
the people that talk about him and all the Mayfield right,
so they do at least have that experience against a
quality opponent. I do think Texas is still a quality
opponent to open the season. So they haven't been playing
paddy Cake up until this game either, so they've been tested.
Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
Matt Patricia's defense has looked very amazing. They are an
NFL type of defense with the way they scheme out there,
it's impressive.
Speaker 1 (01:48:02):
Yeah, So I think at the end of the day,
Ohio State's defense or Ohio States just their talent overall
ends up overwhelming Washington and they probably end up winning
this by ten fourteen points. But I do think Washington
hangs in there. But I'm not I'm not gonna call
this the upset special of the week and the Husky's
taking down Ohio State. I don't see that happen at the.
Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
End of the day, all right. Number four, LSU going
into Old miss with a linebacker who's dating that head
weeks from Old Missus daughter.
Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
Yeah, weeks dating Lane Kiffin's daughter.
Speaker 2 (01:48:30):
It's such a Lane Kiffin move he should probably respect it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
Like people are saying that Lane put his daughter up
to this, so then Lane can retweet or whatever it
was with the photo and say like, yeah, we're running
up the score or whatever he said. You know, like
it would not put I would not put it past
Lane Kiffin's plant this have his daughter do that, so
it can be a distraction for LSU leading up to
the game. Lane Kiffin thrives in this sort of stuff.
He's all for. It doesn't bother him at all. That's
(01:48:55):
tryan Kelly would rather not have to deal with any
of this crap.
Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Old Miss is favored by a point and a half.
LSU has struggled offensively, but they're still the number four
ranked team. Their defense is elite, and you kind of
expect their offense to get better as the season goes along. Here.
I know it's a tough environment. They beat them though
last year. I do like LSU in this ball game,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:49:18):
I don't think LSU's offense has turned the corner of
the way people thought. Garrettnsmeyer, I think has been a
massive disappointment based on his expectations coming into this season.
Speaker 2 (01:49:26):
And ole Miss with a backup quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:49:28):
In there, a guy who's been in the program for
a few years, and they had Austin Simmons who was
a big time recruit, gets injured, and then all of
a sudden, this kid comes in and he's lighting up
the scoreboard left and right. Dual threat guy. The offense
is click and the defense for ole Miss is playing
better than I thought they would. And LSU, I just
don't know what to expect on a weekend week out
basis other than the fact they can't run the damn
ball and usually when LSU was able to win, they're
(01:49:49):
able to run the football they cannot do that this year.
I don't know if that offense can keep up, even
with as good as LSU's defense is. If you'll say, oh,
look what they did to at Florida. Florida can't score
against anybody. Fault has been terrible. DJ Lagway has been
one of the most disappointing players in the entire country
this year. They couldn't score it. And Miami's defense is
good too, but to only put up what seven whatever
many points they put up against Miami last week embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
And LSU's big victory over Clemson ain't that big obviously.
We talked about it last week with a WU Sweeney
like he was on the hot seat then and then
he lost to Syracuse.
Speaker 1 (01:50:22):
Yeah, can't happen.
Speaker 2 (01:50:24):
They're really in trouble, So LSU, I'm kind of surprised
they're still ranked this high as am I maybe that
speaks to the preseason rankings and how meaningless they are.
And outside of the fact that they give you an
advantage if you stay undefeated, they will keep you up there,
there's brand bias too, which is why I understand, like,
you know, the head coach at ELI drink what's at
SEC media days was a proponent of having automatic qualifiers
(01:50:44):
as and taking as much subjectivity out of the rankings
as possible from the committee because it's just built it.
Speaker 1 (01:50:50):
It's a built in bias. It does exist if you're
LSU or Alabama, regardless of the eye test, if you
have the same record as Missouri, nine times out of ten,
they're gonna take LSU or Alabama because of the name value.
But anyway, I digress. I don't think LSU is good
enough offensively, even though old Missus defense is not as
far from dominant. I think Old Missus offense is good
enough to put up enough points against LSU's defense as
(01:51:11):
opposed to LSU being able to score enough points against
Ole Miss's defense. So that's the way I look at it.
Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
I think the logic is fair there. And again LSU,
they haven't showed much now. Ole Miss went over Arkansas
was close. They'd beat Kentucky Tulane.
Speaker 1 (01:51:25):
Arkansas one of the better offenses in the country and
one of the best quarterbacks. No one's heard of in
Taylor Green, by the way, So it will n up
a lot of teams this year.
Speaker 2 (01:51:31):
Well, Vegas is with you. They are giving a point
and a half against LSU at home Auburn at number
nine Texas A and M. Auburn lost. Oklahoma got screwed
on a trick play, screwed the refs and the officials
later on admitted, yes, we got that one wrong in
Oklahoma lost, John Mattire. So I don't know who's got
(01:51:54):
it worse. Yes, I do, it's probably Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (01:51:56):
Well, I'll say Oklahoma's off this week, and then they
play a cupcake. I think it's Kent State or something
after that. So the big thing is they play Texas.
I believe the week after that, and I believe the
prognosis with three to five weeks if I remember correctly.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
And then after surgery, after he comes out of surgery,
how he looks now rightfield, So.
Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
It's not all dire. And again talking about the way
these things play out Oklahoma, I think for a lot
of people who has already exceeded expectations to a certain degree,
there is a couple of pockets of people who said, hey,
watch out for Oklahoma in the SEC this year. They
could be dangerous, but most people didn't really take them seriously.
Britt Venables was on the hot seat for a lot
of people coming into the year. However, they found a
way to do it. Whether you say they got help
(01:52:32):
from the officials or a bad call or whatever, they
get a victory. Over all, burn they sit undefeated. They
find themselves in a position where if they'll get stay
undefeated going into Texas in a couple of weekends from
now for the Red River Shootout, I mean, the sky
is potentially the limit for them. I don't know if
they end up winning the SEC, but I'll say this,
the SEC to a certain degree, as good as Georgia
looks right now, I won't say it's as wide open
(01:52:55):
as like the Big twelve is, but I do think
there's a spot to be had toward the top of
the SEC this year. There's not really a dominant team
right now.
Speaker 2 (01:53:01):
I just worry about how long it's gonna take him
to recover from that injury.
Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
That's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
He's out of the Heisman race. I'm sorry, but I
think he's missing more than two weeks. And if you're
missing two to three weeks, you're out of the Heisman race.
You have to be. He misses that game against Texas
October eleventh, that's obviously troublesome. After that, they got South Carolina,
then Ole Miss then Tennessee, then Alabama, then Missouri, and
they finished things off against LSU. It's gonna be tough
(01:53:28):
for them, I think, to finish with just two losses,
which is probably what they're gonna need to stay in
the twelve team playoff.
Speaker 1 (01:53:36):
Yeah, because as good as they've played, I mean, most
of it has come on his arm and his legs.
They're not necessarily the most talented team overall, even though
I give that coaching staff credit and they've coached those
guys up and the defense is played very solidly. That
team goes as John Mattier goo. So if he's out
for longer than two or three weeks, then I would
agree with you. I think whatever magical season people assume
they might have could go out the window.
Speaker 2 (01:53:56):
You got any other games you want to get under
here with the microscope.
Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
Interesting one for me in the Big twelve is Arizona
going on the road to take on Iowa State, a
team that obviously I love coming into the year, but
watch out for Arizona. There were a team that appeal
A lot of people didn't have a lot of expectations
for coming on this year either, but Britt Brennan, I
think has had a really good start to the season
so far. I think that's one to watch out for,
and by the Big Twelve. Speaking of being and wide open,
another one I did not see happening last week was
(01:54:21):
Big Noon at Utah and having Texas Tech literally go
in and run Utah off of the field. These are
two things I never I thought I'd see is that
a Kyle Whittingham team and a Brett Beilama team get
their doors blown off.
Speaker 2 (01:54:33):
They got pushed around.
Speaker 1 (01:54:34):
It was unfreaking believable to witness what Texas Tech and
that Texas Tech defense. They've never played defense, go all
the way back to the Mike Leach days. It was
always the air, raid and spread. And we're winning forty
five to thirty eight not now. I know they have
a lot of money. They spent the most money of
anybody in the NIL in the transfer portal this past year,
and so far McGuire's team is playing well, so that
(01:54:54):
Big twelve is as wide open as anyone. I think.
The issue with Iowa State is they've been winning so
many of these games by the skin of their team.
You just wonder how many times they were going to
be able to do that, and if they get themselves
into a play as good as they are defensively, if
they play a team like the Texas Tech, are they
going to be able to keep up offensively?
Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
You think this game ends up deciding the Big Twelve.
Speaker 1 (01:55:13):
I don't know. I mean, well, this specific game this weekend,
I don't think it ends up deciding the Big Twelve.
I will say I do think it could end up
deciding Iowa State's fate to a certain degree when.
Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
They face the Driver's Seed.
Speaker 1 (01:55:24):
At least the driver'sy is going to be a Texas
Tech to me, to be honest with you, to have
that dominant of a victory against the Utah team that
a lot of people through the first couple of weeks
thought was the favorites come out of the Big Twelve
and to blow their doors off that way. I think
in the Driver's Sea right now obviously has to be
has to be Texas Tech. Oh before we check out
here too, just corrections and retractions on the Penn State
Ohio State situation. Yes, twenty sixteen was the year that
(01:55:46):
Penn State defeated a top six Ohio State team. However,
Ohio State did not win the national championship that year.
The Ezekiel Elliott national title year was back in twenty fourteen.
That year. In twenty sixteen, Ohio State did not make
the playoff and lost in the Fiesta Bowl.
Speaker 2 (01:56:00):
I don't know if that was a college football whip around,
but we did.
Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
We'll steal it.
Speaker 2 (01:56:06):
Whoopa, Sorry, Patris Trapaday, because eat your heart out. This
is FNA on FSR and.

Speaker 2 (01:56:48):
He's Kevin Figures. I'm Adam Mosland. This is FNA on
FSR and Mark, let's get to our last segment.
Speaker 1 (01:56:55):
Two on two are.
Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
All right? Last week I went one in three, Kevin
went two and two. Kevin is seven and five. I'm
now five and seven overall total ownership. It feels like that.
Speaker 1 (01:57:14):
I mean, I'm sticking into a walk card spot seven
and five. I'll take.
Speaker 2 (01:57:18):
Gambling's hard. Spreads are hard. Handicapping is really tough. I
need a good week, though, So two on two off
means we pick two games on favorites and two games
on underdogs. You want to give me a favorite that
you got one in.
Speaker 1 (01:57:34):
Yes, I'm going with the Broncos being favored by seven
and a half over Cincinnati. I mentioned earlier in the show,
I think this could be a trap game for the
Broncos with the Eagles on the horizon. And while I
do think the Bengals will be competitive and keep this
game closer than Bronco fans would like, I do think
Denver will channel their desperation and end up winning this
thing and covering the spread by seven and a half
to eight points.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
All Right, You know me, I use my cats to
help me with the favorites. I put two treats in
front of them that represent teams they eat one of
the treats, and Shadow did that with the Chargers minus
six on the road in New York against Jackson Dart,
a rookie quarterback, and the Giants rookie quarterbacks went zero
to four against the Chargers last season, and the Chargers
(01:58:16):
also went four and one on East Coast early starts
last season. Their defense is really good. I expect them
to confuse Jackson Darts some. There's one of my ons.
You want to give me one more?
Speaker 1 (01:58:28):
How the hell are the Patriots favored by five and
a half over the Panthers. I don't understand it. This
is an off for me. Look, the Panthers granted probably
a little bit of an anomaly last week, getting that
thirty to nothing victory over Atlanta and the Patriots. I
think what people are saying is, oh, they move the
ball up and down the field in the Steelers, but
they just turned the ball over five If it turned
the ball over five times, there's something wrong. That means
(01:58:49):
you're not a good football team. So those is not
a moral victory for them. How they could be favored
over the Carolina Panthers is beyond me. They should not
be favored in this game. Carolina should be favored in
this gaming. Carolina's going to win this.
Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
Game, oh straight up? And what are they get in
five and a half?
Speaker 1 (01:59:04):
Five and a half? All right, that is insane to me.
Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
I'll go with one of my offs, then one of
my dogs. I mentioned there's no way the Jets and
Dolphins should be on Monday night football. Here's a way
to make the game a little bit more digestible. Bet
on it. I got the Jets plus three on the
road in Miami. Jets almost came back on the Bucks.
I don't know who's gonna be under center. Whatever, they
got running backs, and the Dolphins defense is really bad
(01:59:27):
and Tua is good for a bad pick in a
primetime game. Give me whoever is playing quarterback for the
Jets to cover plus three on the road in Miami
on Monday night.
Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
Okay, I will go with my other on and that
is the Lion's favorite at home versus the Cleveland Browns.
I know that Brown's defense is really good, but I
do think the Lions offense has turned a corner these
last couple of weeks. I think the Lions offense is
gonna be able to score enough points on offense, while
the Detroit defense will be able to hold down that
completely inept Browns offense. So I can see Detroit coming
away with a double digit.
Speaker 2 (01:59:58):
Victory here Ano They're on for me. The Eagles minus
three and a half on the road in Tampa. I
don't love this pick, but I gotta let my cats pick.
And that's the treat that Tuca eight. Philly's coming off
a big emotional victory over the Rams. Obviously, the Bucks
do have some real injuries going on outside of just
Mike Evans two, and while they're three and zero, their
(02:00:20):
point differential combined is plus six in those three victories.
So I got the Eagles cover in the three and
a half.
Speaker 1 (02:00:27):
I know earlier in the show, I said that the
Raiders I thought they were be able to come back
and get a victory over the Chicago Chicago Bears this weekend.
I'm flipping on that, to be honest with you. The
Raiders favored by one over the Bears at home. I
actually think the Chicago Bears are gonna come in and
keep that momentum going offensively and beat the Las Vegas Raiders,
who will now fall to one in three At the
beginning of Pete Carrolls tenure.
Speaker 2 (02:00:47):
I have the exact same pick here, Bears plus one.
Speaker 1 (02:00:51):
I can road, you can't.
Speaker 2 (02:00:55):
Well, you led me to water here. It sounds like
such a good pick. You were so convinced with your
logic there. I gotta go with the Bears over them too. Yeah,
this Raiders team gave up forty one points the defense
to Mariota. It's brutal right now.
Speaker 1 (02:01:09):
Thanks Debris, thanks to Mark, Thanks to you for listening
to us. Much appreciate it. Project in Il coming up
next here on FSR
