Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports. It is time to say,
as we always do, good morning America. Yes, it is
Fox Football Sunday. He's Brian No. I'm Andy Furman. I
will come with to you live from the Fox Sports
Radio studios, brought to you by Geico. Fifteen minutes can
save you fifteen percent more on car insurance. There's a
guy dot com for a free rate quote here. He
(00:23):
is the one and only, my partner, my friend, the
hardest working man in show business today, Mr Brian No, Hello,
b how are you fantastic? Andy Furman? Week five is
upon us. You know I love the NFL. How about
my Irish looked good on the road. I'm excited about that.
(00:43):
The lovely Christina and I got the uh McGregor pay
per view and fisticuffs outside the octagon, not just inside
of it, So that was fun as well. This is
basically a football show, and we we basically constant trade
ninety nine and nine percent of football be at college
and also the NFL, of course, But I are you positive,
(01:08):
Maybe it's even higher, Maybe it's even higher than that.
I want to do this if I may get on
my soapbox for just a second for just a second. Okay,
last night in the n m A okay kabibe, Nora
mcgabe day dove. Okay, I'll say it again, okaybemay dove.
All right, the most disgusting charade of any sporting event
(01:33):
I've ever witnessed. It puts the w w E to shame.
And I'll tell you something else. I'll go here. As
if the actual fight wasn't big enough, The real story
is what happened afterwards, in which all hell broke loose
and Las Vegas take a listen to this mess. No, no,
he's gone total chaos here. It looks like FUC security
(02:00):
has Karl Kamaco met off. Well, he wasn't kidding when
he said no handshake after the fight. Oh no, temmates,
because the right hand. This is crazy. All hell did
break loose last night. I'll tell you what. It's a scam.
(02:21):
It's a sham. It's a fake, it's a phony, it's
it's you know, they do it for pr maybe it
look and they should have known and you know that this.
They should have known this was gonna happen because it
was bad blood between the two that was building since
last April when Connor McGregor went all the way from
Island to confront Kabib during that media day at the
Barkley said that when he hurled that dolly from the
bus and he was on a pastoner on the bus,
(02:42):
it was it was ugly. It's just you don't want
to see stuff like that in the world of sports.
I just don't see it the same way I understand.
I get it from UFC's point of view. The commentators
immediately were like, this is not professional, this is not
the image that we want to portray. And I get
all that because they don't want that to be a
common theme and other fights going forward. But just as
(03:05):
a fan, just to sit on the couch, that was entertaining,
Like the fight ends. Next thing we know, co Bibe
is just going airborne over the octagon wall, diving after
a guy one of his UH members of the crew
complete cheap shot, jumps over the wall and hits Connor
McGregor in the back of the head. Total punk move.
(03:29):
But I'll tell you what, Andy, you can say it's
disgusting and you can say it's the worst ever, which
I would disagree with. In terms of the latter statement,
this is the fight game We've seen crazy stuff left
and right, but just pure entertainment value. I'd be lying
to you if I said I wasn't entertained by it. Well,
I'm gonna go one stuff forth, and you know what,
I'm gonna meet you halfway in that squid circle right now.
(03:50):
But we talked about entertainment. I'll give you an example.
Let let's let's go back to the Yankee game against
the Athletics the other night when the Yankees won and
some clown was wearing an Athletic shirt at hat in
the stadium in New York City and it got drenched
with beer. Yeah, I watched on TV. I left. It
was entertaining. Was it disgusting? Yes? What I want to
be there? No, But there are certain things that yeah,
(04:11):
I could laugh at. But it was a clown move.
It was a stupid move, was a disgusting move, just
like the thing last night at the UFC. It doesn't
do any good for the UFC Sports. It does not
do any good whatsoever. I disagree also like to think
that this does no good whatsoever when we're leading off
our show with it. Okay, this is the fight game.
(04:34):
This isn't like you know, tryouts, for the convent. You know,
this isn't like that. This is the UFC. Crazy stuff happens.
It's just hilarious to me how some people could look at,
say Connor McGregor throwing water bottles and an opponent in
a press conference setting and look at that and be like,
oh man, that was awesome, and then turn around and
(04:56):
get on their high horse. This with cabeb was just
flat out disgusting and outrageous. And I just sense the
jowls are flapping up and down. It's like if it's
leading off a show. It's not all bad for the
fight Game of all things shows. And this is very
similar to newscast as well. Anything that's out of the
ordinary usually takes priority, and this is certainly out of
(05:20):
the ordinary. Yeah, we can talk about the college football
games and we will. We could talk about the NFL
and we will. But it's certainly just like a newscast
that's on local news. If you have eight houses in
a subdivision and the one house is burning, that's the
house that's gonna lead on the news. There's something that's unusual,
and this was very very unusual, right, and it's being
(05:40):
talked about and it's being focused on. And that's not
all bad for UFC. If you think that last night
won't help sell the next fight, we get a rematch
between the two, you're crazy So to sit here and
say there's no good that can come from that spectacle
and that disgusting display, and it's not true. You know what,
(06:02):
They will sell tickets, they will have a rematch. It'll
happen again. I'm not surprised to happen. But you know
what it's it's a stain on the sport. To me,
I'm not apprude. You know, I thought I was there.
I said, Wow, I brag about that. I was there
in person. I saw right. That's a good way to
look at it for sure. Yeah, I was there at
(06:22):
that one. And I'll be by the way, Which is it?
I hear commentators on the same telecast. One goes cub beeB,
the other guy goes HUBBIB. It's like the you're either
team CUBBB or team Hubby, But I don't enough is
the right team? Well, it's been enough. They can't pronounce
the last name, But when you can't get the first name,
(06:43):
that's real bad. That's real bad. I'll tell you what.
It's moving it's it's could be syllables, man, and some
people it's funny where they look down and they're like, bib,
I don't know the Russian guy. His last name looks
like an eye chart. It really does. I'm moving over
the college football right now. Brought to you by Discovered
cause we treat you like you treat you. Okay, yesterday yesterday, Texas, Oklahoma.
(07:08):
The Red River rat Valley, Gammy, it's always in Dallas
every year. It's a big thing. What the red River
River Valley game? Is that valley? Yeah, the Red River
Valley isn't red River. But look, I've never been a
ton of things. There was the shootout, then it was
the rivalry. I don't know why it's changed from the
rivalry at all. The showdown it's just obnoxious, man, it
(07:33):
really is it really But yeah, it always had a
great rivalry back and forth, no doubt, and if he
has always ended up being fools gold, but it's Texas
really backed. This was inevitably the conclusion of the Red
River Showdown on Saturday. Take a listen to this up
forty yard field gold trial look snapping hole but kick
on its way and the kick kiss good it's gone
(07:57):
decker checker, top screw with nine seconds to play in
the ball game, the Long Horns leading, and that's the
way it ended. Texas. A big win for Texas coming
off that opening day lost to Maryland. Freshman kicker Cameron Dicker,
the kicker for Texas, forty hot field goal with nine
(08:18):
seconds to go, and Texas is back. Tom Herman's bringing
him back. Hook them Horn's baby. That's what they did
after the game. When they interviewed the kicker was wonderful. Well,
I can't say they're back. I mean they're on their way.
There's no doubt when you just said it. They dropped
the opener to freaking Maryland. You've got Oklahoma. I know
it's a big name school, they're a top ten program,
(08:39):
but we just had a couple of weeks ago. Oklahoma
is an overtime at home against Army, Okay. So to
think that Texas is back to where they were, we
got high standards for Texas. You remember, Andy or Vince
Young is running against what was thought to be the
greatest team in the history of college football in usc
and Vince Young proved otherwise in the National Championship Game.
(09:03):
So to say Texas is back to that standard. We
heard this all the time with the U with Miami
last year and their resurgence, Oh the US back, the
US nowhere close to being back to where they once were.
So I think that the standards for Texas. You can't
say they're back based on a win against Oklahoma, who
they very well could drop a couple of other games
(09:25):
before it's all said and done this year. Well, I mean,
it is a heck of a win. It's a it's
a tremendous win. Really, Oklahoma, three time defending Big twelveth champion,
I mean, really, truly, this is a big win for Herman,
probably the biggest win in his career, the biggest winch Yeah.
I mean, I'll tell you what this this game does.
I think nnox Kyla Murray, the quarterback of Oklahoma out
(09:45):
of Heisman contention, It really does. I would go that far.
It hurts. It hurts big time because I don't know
where the loss is gonna be for Alabama and Tungo
Vila has been spectacular and when the the schedule gets
a little bit tougher, maybe we'll see him in the
second half. You know, the numbers get a little bit healthier,
So that hurt Kyler Murray. He still did play well.
(10:06):
The sixty seven yard touchdown run was amazing. The fumble
hurt when he was scrambling around and you know, like
had the ball on the ground, He's trying to regain
his balance and he fumbled. That was a bad turnover.
But all things considered, I still think that he's in
the mix. But you know what, Texas, I don't want
(10:26):
to twist it. That's an enormous win. I'm just sitting
here telling you I don't think that's a win where
you say for sure, Tom Herman's got Texas. They're back.
They dropped the first cave against Maryland. We can't forget that.
And they got some big games on the schedule down
the road. Plus they got Oklahoma State, and I think
Oklahoma State, you don't know what you're gonna get a
week to week. They lost to Iowa State yesterday and
(10:48):
still WADA. But still in all I think Oklahoma States
an explosive ball club, and I think that right now
Texas will face a couple of more hurdles before the
end of the year. But I got to talk about
the Big Blue and I we talked about him lest
we talked about Kucky. We've talked about them a week ago.
Surprise team. They went to distance with A and M
at A and M Saturday night. Take a listen to
this bond handoff Williams right side across the tent to
(11:10):
the five, william popping over and in and the Aggies
win it over time from ten yards out Tree Villan,
Williams and the Aggies twenty four winners over Kentucky. I'm defeated.
No longer heartbreaking there because Kentucky's mouth butler, he missed
(11:32):
a forty three yard field goal just started that overtime period.
The ball hit the crossbar and bounced back and then
Williams gets the ball runs into the end zone. He
was like a bull. Trey vieon Williams and tell you
why what what a what a showing for Kentucky. And
I wasn't one of the greatest games in the world.
Offensively was kind of poor on both sides, but still
in all it was exciting and a tremendous finish. It
really was right. But this just shows you how lower
(11:55):
standards are in expectations are for Kentucky. I mean, come on,
they they scored fourteen points. One was a defensive score,
by the way, they could do nothing offensively. They've got
a pea shooter legged kicker with the forty three yard
attempt and overtime it hit the crossbar. It's at three
yard or what what are they doing over there? Like?
(12:17):
Come on? Made you there wasn't some fierce hurricane like
winds or something like that. You gotta have a stronger
leg than to hit the crossbar on a forty three
yard or that's insane. But I mean it was nice
while it lasted with Kentucky. They dropped the game against
Texas A and nown But I've got a bone to
pick with you and with me. If you Andy, if
(12:39):
you go with the Red River shootout, slash rivalry, slash showdown,
Valley Championship or whatever you call it, fine, fine, you're
putting u K over the Irish and what we saw
against the Hokey's on Saturday night? Are you crazy? Are
you out of your mind? Andy Firman? What's going on
with you this Sunday morning? You know? But I wanted
to wait. They wanted a don't you think the big
(13:01):
thing for the next segment for you to lead up
that because I know you know what you think. And
I watched that game and really, you know if do
you know what the best part of that game was
the open when they had Virginia Ted going through the tunnel.
I mean, I I got goose bumps. It was tremendous. Man.
They go crazy, lots of emotion. Then you're downtend nothing. Yeah,
(13:22):
have fun with that, taking them right out of it.
Dare we go, my guy Brian No, I'm Andy Ferman
Way he had. We got a great lineup today, as
we usually do. We got Bronx Talk Radio with Sammy k.
I just happen to see Sammy Kay putting on his
makeup in the green room. Yeah, that will be in
this hour. Bonto Barrel betting an hour number two. In
the third hour, we have Alex Marvez. Who is he?
I'll tell you who he is. He's Fox Sports Radio's
NFL Inside. And then my guy Brian Nowan knows picks
(13:45):
and I can't wait to hear how he did last week.
And you can get to us on Twitter. And you
know what, I'm gonna stop doing this. You know why
I keep on hounding. I give our Twitter handles and honestly,
either they're not worth mentioning, or they're not writing to
I mean really, to the hell with you. I'll give
it one time. You want to tweet us, fine, if not,
down with you at the no show and we show
(14:06):
at any firmant FSR and the thing goes for the
phone number you want to call. Fine, if not, I
could care less. I don't care if we don't hear
from you. Hey, I got a bone to pick today,
I don't. I don't have much here eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine, six sixty
three sixty And of course we're live from the Fox
(14:28):
Sports Radio studios. But there's no argument now. We'll tell
you why next The reports were premature. We'll get to
that in just about them in twenty past. And we
call this Fox Football Sunday. He's Brian No, I'm Andy
Ferman and what brought to you by Discover Card. We
treat you like you treat you. Now here's the stage
from my partner, my partner, Brian No, from the Great
(14:51):
State of Indiana, a big not youre dame fan, and
we're gonna put the spot line in them right now.
I watched the game last night halftime. You know, if
you're No Dame fin you kind of biting your nails
a little bit seventeen sixteen at the half of a
Notre Dame. But I watched that defense, I mean really
and smothering. I've never seen defense like that in years,
I really haven't. They go on to win. They beat
(15:11):
votech and Blacksburg last night by a score three. Tell
me your opinion in that game, because I think the
Irish right now will not have a dent in their
schedule the rest of the way. Well, I mean, look
the nice win last night, and you think about last
week's game against Stanford. That was the first Top ten
game at Notre Dame Stadium since the Bush Push game
(15:34):
thirteen years ago. Is that amazing? So to beat Stanford
and all of a sudden, that Stanford win looks a
little little less impressive because you think about Stanford getting
gifted a game by Oregon and then getting blown out
by Utah last night. But that was a big win
for Notre Dame. And to come off of that emotional,
big win at home, go on the road. You're only
(15:56):
up seventeen to sixteen at halftime. A lot of motion
in that building, and they played very well in the
second half. So yeah, I'm impressed by their defense. And
also Dexter Williams is a very good running back. I
didn't like Ian book last night. He was inaccurate far
too many times. But all things considered, when you boat
race them like that, when you didn't play your best football,
it's a positive sign for the future, no doubt about that.
(16:19):
I'll give you another positive sign because we're gonna move
away from the Irish because you're gonna keep on gloaming
and talking about them. It's gonna make me six. So
enough to day day one and yea happy and you
got your time in the sun. That's it. Well really,
but I love it. I do. But you know enough
because it's like with Meincinnati stuff. You know, I get it,
I really do. But now we could shelve the Patriots.
Now forget about the Patriots obituaries for now, because they
(16:41):
dumped the coast the other day. Brady reached five career touchdowns.
By the way, it's funny because they'll always remember he
pissed that five hundred to Josh Gordon. All right, and
now maybe we could close the argument Peyton versus Brady.
That's all life hard for years, and they've always said, well,
Peyton had the stats, Brady had to tide. I'll tell
you right now here and now we're gonna close the
(17:02):
story here. Brady has both. Brady has both right now,
So there's no more argument with Peyton and Brady. Brady's
got him both. He's the man period in the story. Oh,
that argument was settled for anybody with half a brain
a long time ago. It's Tom Brady. It's not even close.
Peyton Manning. How many times did he just absolutely wet
himself in big playoff moments? A ton of times. Man
(17:26):
four interceptions against the Patriots in the playoffs, the big
pick six? Can you imagine Andy for a second. Can
you imagine if Tom Brady threw a pick six to
lose a Super Bowl? How people wouldn't come close to
glossing over it. Yet they do with Peyton Manning because
they like him. But it's not even close in terms
(17:48):
of who's had a better postseason resume and who's the
better individual quarterback, it's Tom Brady by a mile, right.
I couldn't agree more. And we'll leave it at that,
and the Patriots are back in the Demise of the
Patriots is uh was too soon, Although I tell you
I understand that because most people want to see them lose.
You know, that's just just the way life, right, don't
you agree? But that's right. But you've got to still
(18:13):
be reasonable. There isn't another team right now, Andy, where
people are emotionally, emotionally idiotic about that's even close to
the same level as the Patriots. Think about that for
any sport and any sport anything that you want to
pull the Warriors in basketball, you know, we can root
(18:34):
for them to lose. I do you do? You don't
like Kadi joining a seventy win team, But we're not unreasonable.
We're not like, oh yeah, they're gonna get tripped up
by the Grizzlies this year as long as Conley is healthy. Like,
we're not dumb when it comes to them. And the Patriots,
have we not seen this before? They stumble out of
(18:55):
the gate, They don't play great in September, they play
a lot of young guys and try to figure year
at out and what do you know they always do.
So it was doom and gloom and they were one
in two and then offer two games in a you know,
short span of time, all of a sudden, they're healthier
at three and two, and it looks much different with
Julian Edelman back and with Josh Gordon contributing. I'll tell
(19:18):
you one thing that's not that healthy to Pittsburgh Steelers.
I don't know what's going on there, and I think
there's rumors in Pittsburgh that they basically want their head coach,
Mike tom And gone. They said he's lost the locker room.
Steelers are home today one two and ones day record.
The play the Falcons, who are not much better. They
are one in three. Falcons lost to the Bengals. That's
all I'm gonna say about that. It's Cincinnatis. We move
on Steelers loss. Steelers lost at home to Baltimore and uh,
(19:44):
right now, well, you know I forgot to look at
see that's how big. I didn't get then because I'm
not a line guy, but you are. So we go there.
But I will tell you right now, Falcons will probably
win this game. I really believe the Falcons take them today.
They might. I mean, this is one of the handful
of big games featuring teams with horrible records. Because you
(20:06):
had Dan Quinn earlier this week. Falcons head coach say
he believes that the Falcons are better than the record indicates,
and I agree with him. You go back to the
old school Bill Parcels line. You are what your record
says you are. They are a one in three football
team right now, but going forward, they're a higher caliber
than that. Andy, I would look at it like the
(20:28):
Dolphins were three and o and they got throttled by
the one and two Patriots at the time. So your
record doesn't tell the full story going forward every single time.
So many injuries with the Falcons defense, that's the achilles
heel for them. So I expect this to be a shootout.
I think it's gonna be a really high scoring game.
But for the Falcons to drop to one in four
(20:50):
or the Steelers to drop to one three and one
after losing a home game, that's what would happen if
they lose tough the Falcons today, Man, you're in a hole.
You can't an afford to lose this game if you're
either team. And what at Lanta really has to do
just get Calvin Ridley and Julio Jones involved more in
the offense. Here. Really, right now is the first NFL
in history with six touchdowns in this team's first four games,
(21:11):
and Julio Jones hundred seventy three receiving ardsman in the
first player ever with forty one yard games in his
first ninety nine games. So get those guys involved. That's
your strength, that's basically your strength. Get him involved and
that they have. They just got to get defenders involved
in defending. You know. That's their issue is defense. That's
(21:33):
the problem. They've scored in the high thirties the last
couple of weeks and lost both games, you know, so
you mention that. Yeah, I was just gonna say real quickly, though,
if you look at the Steelers, Big Band has been
exposed this year. Without Levi on Bell back there, they've
only averaged two point eight yards per rush the last
three weeks. That's what you've seen from the Steelers. And
(21:56):
last Sunday night, I like James Conner, but he's not
left me on Bell and when them they aren't able
to run the ball against Baltimore. Big Ben's missing some
wide open receivers, just wide open, and you don't have
that same balance over there in Pittsburgh. And it is
really really reflecting on Big Bend so far this year.
I think he's gonna have a good game against that
(22:16):
defense today, But keep an eye on his accuracy because
I want to see if this is a common trend
going forward or if that was just stumbling out of
the gates the first quarter of the season. He looked
really bad against the Bravens last week. We have, I
would have to say, hands down, probably the greatest executive
producer in sports talk radio today. Ryan Dennis is his name.
(22:39):
And as soon as you mentioned the offense of the
Atlanta Falcons, you know already tells us. The Falcons have
scored one hundred sixteen points in the first four games combined,
there's still one in three. That's a twenty nine point
per game average. So so where are the holes? Right there?
The holes are on the defensive side of the ball.
That's basically what the problem is. And speaking of that,
you're going to You're right, there's gonna be a lot
of points today because the Steelers aren't much better at
(22:59):
the fence. They've given a four ninety nine and four
fifty one yards in the last three games, So yeah,
they may have a combined score of seventy and more
this game. Yeah, the totals fifty eight, which is really
high for an NFL total. But one of my buddies
last night on the East Coast, he's a he's a
(23:21):
big time gambler, but he's good at it. And he
texted he was like, one of his plays is gonna
take the over in this game. And I'm like, man,
that's a lot of points. But when it's twenty three
to twenty or somewhere around there at halftime, all of
a sudden, it looks pretty good. I expected to be
around that time, around that total at halftime. It's gonna
be a high scoring game today, and those games have
(23:42):
fun to watch. So I really have no money on
this game, so I could care who wins him. I
enjoyed watching a lot of scores. That's what I like
to do. Brian No, Andy Ferman, we are live from
the guy called Fox Butts Radio Studios, and you know what,
he almost gave up on football and now he's the
best of the league. That's next, but first to the
best of the business. Ralph Urfan with the latest. Well,
thank you very much, Andy, And at UFC two twenty
(24:03):
nine in Las Vegas, could beat NORMALGA made of submitted
Connor McGregor in the fourth round with a rare naked
choke and retained his UFC Lightweight championship. After the fight,
could be left into the stands confronting a member of
McGregor's team, and that's where things really got out of
and a member of Team normalga madeof then jumped into
(24:25):
the ring, sucker punching Connor McGregor. So lots of craziness
going on yet to be completely sorted out, and it
will be over the next days and weeks for sure. Meanwhile,
in Major League Baseball, the playoffs continued in the American
League the Divisional Series. The Yankees six two winners over Boston.
New York leads that series one game or New York
(24:48):
and Boston tied in that series one all Houston at
three one win over Cleveland. The Astros with the two
nothing series lead there. Online car shopping can be confusing.

(25:11):
the upset over number five l s U twenty seven
to nineteen, Utah shock number fourteen, Stanford forty one, who
was Texas A and M beating number thirteen, Kentucky fourteen
in Mississippi state surprise number eight Auburn twenty three to nine.
And gentlemen, we are just six and a half hours
away from eight games kicking off at one o'clock Eastern
(25:34):
on NFL Sunday, number five, including what maybe the game
of the day that is Jacksonville taking on Kansas City. Well,
thank you, Ropsie is just about an hour, but he
needs just some more d We'll tell you all that
in just about a minute. It's Brian, No, it's Andy
from it. By the way, welcome everybody to the Fox
but radio studios. Both to you buy Geico. It's easier
to say fift more on car insurance with Gico. Got
(25:56):
a GUO dot com O call eight hundred nine was
seven not of the only hard part figuring out which
way is easier. And by the way, in about ten
minutes from now, Bronx Talk Radio with Sammy k right
here on Fox Sports Radio. So how do you like that? Mr? Know,
how do you like that? Always looking forward to it, man,
always a treat. Yes, you know, it's a treat working
(26:18):
with you. It really is, because you appreciate the world
of sports. There's not many people out there who could
really say I appreciate a great performance, and you do,
you know, at to some extent. At times I think
I do as well. And today we're gonna see hopefully
a great performance from the Kansas City Chiefs because they're
undefeated at four or no. They hosted Jags three and one,
(26:39):
and this Patrick Mahomes, the quarterback that the Chiefs. A
great story I just read in the Sports Illustrator. I'd
like to share it with you if I can. Don't
know how many people have read it. He played football
the White House High School in Texas, and Sports Illustrated
the story goes his mom, Randy, and that's Randy with
an eye said he nearly quit football the something before
his junior year of high school because he felt he
(26:59):
didn't get a fair shot at the position he wanted,
which just quarterback. He played safety as a sophomore, and
I had no idea He was drafted by the Detroit
Tigers in the thirty seventh round MLB Draft. What a
story that is. Yeah, Well, he's off to a fantastic start,
there's no doubt, fourteen touchdowns, no interceptions, But this is
(27:19):
a step up significantly in defenses that he's faced thus far.
And I'm really really curious how he plays today against
Jacksonville because it's the number one scoring offense in Kansas City,
just over thirty six points per game, and you got
the number one scoring defense in Jacksonville only allowing fourteen
(27:40):
points per game. So, as we always like to say, Andy,
something's got a gift. And I think this is gonna
be a fantastic I mean, this is the matchup of
the day. When Patrick Mahomes in that Kansas City offense
is coming up against that Jaguars defense. I cannot wait
to see that. I think Patrick Mahomes will give you
a prediction, Andy, I think Mahomes throws his first pick
to day. I don't think you still have a zero
(28:01):
in the interception column when this thing is done well.
I think that right now, I think the Chiefs defense
has to be tested. I mean, they've given up so
many yards and so many points thus far, and they've
won it on the arm of Patrick Mahomes. But here's
the key. Can the Chiefs stop the running game? Of
the Jacks. Can they stop Landard for net that's the key. So, yeah,
definitely be an issue. Yes, it's gonna be t j Yelden.
(28:25):
It's gonna be that. It's gonna be a little bit
running back by committee, but they can still run the
ball effectively. Look at the Chiefs defense. They're allowing a
league high five point seven three yards per carry. And
this is a short week, so you got that going on.
You think about the Chiefs playing on Monday Night football
and they've been playing atrocious defense, just smelly, stinky, nasty defense. Yes,
(28:51):
it's been brutal, man, where they think about this? Andy,
I love doing this because while the Chiefs haven't had
their bye week, I love looking at the total yards
given up for the entire season. You've got the Patriots,
who you wouldn't say they've been world beaters defensively, right, right, right,
You've got the Patriots right now playing an extra game
(29:15):
compared to the Chiefs. Right, the Patriots have given up
twenty three more yards this year than the Chiefs. You
think there's a chance that, uh, the Jags gained twenty
four yards at least today. I think there's a good chance.
So when this is all said and done, You're gonna
see Kansas City on the bottom again, most likely in
(29:37):
terms of I'm gonna go back on glad deutominus. I
didn't know Leonard Fournette will be out today, But now
I'm hearing from our produced that he's gonna be out
several weeks with the hamstring. And I thought that, like
when the last time I looked or heard that he
might be available for today, and now they say it's
gonna be out several weeks without hamstring. I mean, I
had no idea, and that really to me. Maybe I'm wrong.
I don't think it was that well publicized. I thought
(29:59):
he might be in a line up today. Are you
using a different Internet, Andy's like a different web browser
or something over I'm glad I'm not betting on this game.
Really mean, yeah, they can still, Like I said, they
can still have a lot of success against that Kansas
City defense, regardless if it's t J Yelden or Leonard Fournette.
(30:23):
A healthy Leonard Fournette is dynamic, there's no doubt. But
it's not like that ground game has no chance to
do anything whatsoever against the Casey Rush defense. Casey is
just brutal. They're brutal against the runs, so I think
that you can absolutely have success against them when it
comes to the combination. T J. Yelden is gonna get
the bulkload of the carries, but you're gonna see some
(30:44):
Corey Grant, undrafted free agent out of Auburn. You know,
he's been in the league for a couple of years,
so you know you can you can still match points
against that case defense. It's just one of these where
man Leonard Fournette's had a lot add and nagging injuries.
He missed three starts last season, He's gonna miss his
third start this season, Gonna miss more weeks with that
(31:07):
nagging hamstring injury. So it's unfortunate. It's not that he's weak,
it's just he just can't get right healthwise. He's brittle.
That's what he is. He really is. You know, you
look at it. I think we talked we touched on
this last week. You look at the chief stats and
if you know, not looking at the one lost record,
you definitely would think that he would be five hundred
of below with the stats that they have, especially on defense,
(31:27):
even time of possession. The opponent well, obviously time of possession,
they're not gonna have be because they're on the field
so quickly. They score and that's the end of it.
But honestly, the total net yards like they're giving him
almost nineteen hundred yards, it's amazing. Average per game one
three they're only gaining one thirteen a game for themselves.
And average per game as far as what h totally
yards three eight given up to to nine seven. These
(31:48):
are a good stats. I mean, really and truly there
are four no one. It's hard to believe that they
are well. That offense has just been so dynamic. They've
been unbelievable offensively, and I can't wait to see just
scheme wise, you know, it's Patrick Mahomes has been outstanding.
I'm not saying it's just the scheme, but what Andy
(32:10):
Reid has been able to do to scheme certain matchups
where they can take advantage. I want to see just
schematically what Andy Reid comes up with against the Jaguars defense,
because if you're getting pressure consistently on Patrick Mahomes, that
absolutely it takes a lot away from you as a
play caller. With Andy Reid, and I want to see
just in terms of you know, this Jalen Ramsey Tyreek
(32:33):
Hill matchup. I love the trash talk back and forth
with Jalen Ramsey saying he's a return specialist. Let's get
that straight, a return specialist. This is a big game
for Tyreek Hill because if he's quiet in this one,
a lot of people are gonna look at Jalen Ramsey
and say, yeah, that's he's just a return guy. What
he's not. But it's gonna be an overreaction if Tyreek
(32:54):
Hill doesn't play well today. You know, here's a question.
I mean, I don't know how you feel about this,
but I'm shocked at the Kansas City Chiefs have gotten
off to the start that they have and what Patrick
Mahomes has done. And I often wonder, and I haven't
seen a lot of reports about this, that a good
storyline would be would they be as successful if Alex
Smith was still in the center? Would they be? Because
they do have the parts offensively to do well. Maybe
(33:17):
not as well, but still little is it all? Patrick Mahomes?
I mean, it's a lot to do with absolutely it is.
They wouldn't you know, be averaging seven points a game?
You had Alex Smith, he had the highest passer rating
in football last Yes, yeah, so they would be successful offensively,
but when you look weekend week out thirty eight points
(33:39):
forty two thirty eight seven, when like an off week
on the road Monday night football in Denver, I don't
think they'd be scoring to this degree. I don't think
that Alex Smith would be pushing the ball down the
field where he would have fourteen touchdown passes zero interceptions.
So yeah, Patrick Mahomes numbers I think are a bit
healthier than what you would have seen from Alex Smith
(34:00):
in the same offense. But you've got a lot of
weapons over there. But I think it it's not just schematically.
Against the forty niners, you had a great throw where
Patrick Mahomes bought time, he used his athleticism, he rolled
out to his right through a touchdown pass. Those are
some of the plays that he's been able to make
that are just special. Look at the left handed throw
(34:22):
against Denver. You know you've got a lot of quarterbacks
in the league doing that. And everybody talks about balance
and offense. I mean, here's a team that has gained
something like twelve yards through the air offensively and only
rushed for like four hundred and fifty yards. I mean,
where's the balance there? So you know, all that stuff,
you're throwing that stuff out the window because I think
that you're a coach and you have to do what
(34:42):
you have to do with the personnel you have. I mean,
I watched these announcers on TVs. Well, you know the
Steelers today, If the twelve plays like a six running
plays and six passing plays, you know, it's great balance.
Great balance means nothing if you don't get it done,
if you don't get the job that's Look, they're getting
it done in Kansas City. But there's no balance. Well yeah,
(35:02):
there's not a whole lot. I mean, it's definitely one sided.
So as long as it's coming along, it's all good.
But you're gonna come to later in the season. Maybe
it's raining sideways, maybe it's a bad weather game. You know,
you gotta be able to have more tricks in your
bag to survive over the long haul. And right now,
you've got a great passing game, you've got no defense,
(35:25):
and you've got a decent running game. That's not enough
balance to really be a threat to do some significant damage.
Their day is gonna come. Is this similar to last
year they got off the great start five and oh
and the next thing you know, they're losing six of seven. Yeah,
we will be able to sing up. They could lose
(35:45):
three or four. They could have a similar stretch here
not too far from now, no doubt about that. Brian No,

from the hip on this one. I tell you you
don't know what you're gonna get out of my mouth today.
I don't know. It better be something. It's gonna be offensive,
it's gonna be something entertaining. I guarantee you. All right, Listen, listen,
we're talking about shooting, shooting shootouts, right, the Red River
rival shouts. Alright, I'm shooting my mouth here. I gotta
(37:15):
get started. Listen, try say in the Red Rivel Rivalry
three times. It's a tongue twist. I've never been a
great articulator. Alright, listen, Texas over Oklahoma, for it was
a shootout, but they don't want to call it the
Red River shootout anymore. And guess what, Georgia, Florida, they
play a game surrounded by what used to be called
(37:37):
the world's largest outdoor cocktail party. And both of those
games just result the reflecting a truth. Okay, there's a truth.
It was a shootout and it was. It's a it's
the people are blotto at this game. For Georgia, Florida.
What is with our society? Listen? This isn't new. What
is it new? This isn't new. Our society wants to
move away from these politically incorrect terms, and it drives
me up the wall. I was just thinking about this
(37:58):
the other day. What are your thoughts there, Brian? You
want to keep them? You want to I want to
keep you. Listen, all right, you freaking listen over here? Yeah,
you shut up? You going you ask a question, me
to give you an answer while you shut your piehole.
I'm listening, alright, alright, you spit it out. I don't
(38:21):
have a problem with them moving on from shootout, okay,
for obvious reasons in today's climate, but no reason to
booth one from Red River rivalry. Come on, that's fine.
The world's luggest largest outdoor cocktail party is fine too.
So I'm with you on that shootout. Let's leave that
the closet, but no reason to move on from that.
(38:43):
Leave it alone, you know, I leave it alone because
I like the people who are anchoring. They want to
take it away. I say, screwed him. Leave it alone.
Listen the booze and the guns, all right, I get that. Temperamental,
you know, temporary issues. I'm not making sense here, but
I want to keep some of these football's up brew
real spark, got it. Move on, all right, Listen, I
(39:03):
might sound like a hypocrite here, but I'm gonna get
a little empathy, empathize. I'm gonna empathize for kobebe Off,
all right. I just want to say this. Listen, this
happened I think because Conna started walking over the line
a long time ago. He crossed the line. He stepped
on it, he danced on it. He went after Kabib's faith,
he went after his father, he went after his country.
Can you really fault the guy for what happened after this?
(39:26):
It wasn't mainly was embarrassing the fight game crime of freaking.
There will be consequence the trash they hit low. That's
the way on it to the audience. That's what I'll
tell you right now. That's the problem. We had met
a world war out there, met the opposite of metal

(39:46):
All right, you gotta sit in the front row and
get Kabib on your lap. That's what you get again,
Kabeb Listen, here's what k G B should just should
have stood for on Saturday night, Kabib's gang of brutes.
That's what they want. That's who I'm gonna rebranded as.
I don't know, guys, but listen, he was getting spit
on by Connor left and right all the way up
(40:07):
to this fight. I kind of empathize with the guys.
So I'm not gonna do to you in about two minutes.
All right, jeez, I'm for Clumpty. All right, we got
about thirty seconds. Uh, Brian, We're not gonna go with
your lame question. I want to know what Nick say've

be how are you doing? Fantastic candy firm and always
good to be here with you. And I do this
almost every time on Sunday mornings when we're doing this
shift is I will just get caught up and getting
my notes together and I'm reading a bunch of stuff
(41:32):
and all this is going on, and I'll look up
and I'm like, I am starving right now. And it's
because I haven't eaten one thing. You know, I don't
know why I do that to myself. I should get
in the habit of eating something on the way in,
you know, you really should. Yeah, I have to remind
I got to bring something in for you on Sundays. Well,
what is it that's your fancy? Is it donuts? Is
(41:54):
it bagels? What it might be an egg sandwich from McDonald's.
What is it called? Tell me? Um? I typically keep
it simple. I need to do more fruit, need to
eat way more. Fruit and be healthier. But if it's
not cold cereal, it's pop tarts. Love cherry pop tarts again,
not the greatest to go with or um cereal bars.
(42:18):
I'll go with cherry or strawberry cereal bars. It just,
you know, kills the hunger and gets me through and
I'm good to go. But I would love to eat
more fruit, and I just don't have time in the morning.
You know. I hate to see you in pain like this,
I really do. But just something all right makes me
feel talk about You're Irish, okay, and it's hard to
believe in and I love Ralph and I'm not here
(42:39):
to pick I'm not doing that, but I will mention
now the top of the hour, he had the headlines
in the world of sports and he just totally ignored
Notre Dame. And I think he did it on purpose
because I think there's something going on between you and Ralph.
That's all I'm gonna outrageous it is. It's crazy. But
they could a Virginia Tech. They got a Blacksburg three.
They beat him up pretty good. And as we said that, no,
(43:00):
you think got another big win of a Vontec the
Houlkies this weekend and this is what put the Irish
up seventeen to nine. Take a listen, rolls out to
us right now, sets up in trouble sidestep suppressor. Now
he goes down down the side five such down. How
(43:22):
do you like that? How do you like that? You know?
It was kind of like me. I was doing the
show with e from Salam last night during the game,
and I did that numerous times. So I think we're
approaching the time where people start freaking out about potential
college football playoffs scenarios, you know, or it's like, is
(43:42):
my team gonna be on the outside looking in? And
what what is this? And if they get hosed and
this is gonna be a trocans, It's like, just settled down, man.
We haven't even had a committee pool, we haven't had
the committee poll out yet. You know, it hasn't even
been released and people are freaking out about potential scenarios. Relax,
have a pop tart, take a breath, really right, yeah,
(44:05):
get easy. But Notre Dame will be there when all
is said and done. They will be there. And I
love that because I think it's good for football that
the Irish are there. How do you like that? I
think they're there. Maybe I'm crazy, but you think that
the Yankees are good for baseball when they win. I
think the Green Bay Packers are good for football when
they win. And I think not Youre Dame is good
for college football when they win. How's that? Yeah, I
(44:25):
mean a lot of people would agree with that. It's
definitely a team that people have a strong opinion about.
Either love them or you hate their guts. And you
think their fan base is largely largely pretentious, and there's
there's a lot of truth to that. There's you're not
I get that, but that's good when you have that
(44:45):
divisive type team. Man, the sport always wins out. And
so yeah, it'd be great for college football if they
are there. But you know, we'll see how the rest
of it shakes out. When you look at the top
of the standings here, when you look at the rankings
and dy a couple of teams dropped. L s U
loses to Florida, Oklahoma goes down to Texas, Auburn got
(45:07):
smacked around by Mississippi State. So that's number five, number seven,
number they all dropped. Yeah, so this top ten is
gonna look a lot different heading into next week, no
doubt about. And that's good. That's great because it creates
a lot of fun, a lot of conversation, and you know,
the game is probably mean more they really do. You know,
while looking at the top, what about the top of
the NFC? North's that upside down? I gotta turn it
(45:30):
upside The Chicago Bears on top the Packers to one
and one. They traveled to Detroit and the first Alliance.
I mean, truly, what's what's going on with the Bears?
A travisky? I mean, are you kidding me? I mean,
come on, what what what's happening? Look? He has this
one aberration game against a really horrible and banged up
(45:53):
Buccaneers defense. Chris Conti was hurt. Remember the guy who
got trucked by Vance McDonald, Remember that when it was
the Monday night game when the Steelers and the Buccaneers
and Vance McDonald had tied in gave that stiff farm
from hell to Chris Conti. Well, Chris Conti is on
I R. You had Vernon Hargraves is on I R.
(46:15):
So they've got a banged up in a bad defense.
Their defense has gotten shredded steadily, and Mitch Drabinsky has
a good game, And all I've been hearing is like,
WHOA look at Mitch Robinsky, whoa look at the rules
and the defenses and block It's like he had one
aberration game. Look at the Bears week by week, here's
(46:36):
what they've scored sixty eight. Do you not see something
that stands out among all the other games? That spike
is not normal? No, not at all. So that Mitch
Drabinsky performance is being grossly blown out of proportion. But
but can I kind of put it kind of gonna
throw a little cold water on you for a second,
(46:56):
if I may may, docause when you talk like the
about you know, everything's out of control, and you're right,
you know, I'm not gonna argue with that. It reminds
me of like the Philly seventies six of fan boys.
Remember what they said they were gonna win it all
in the playoffs with the seven of these sixers. But
you gotta give these fans up. I mean, that's what
they live for, that's what they live, That's what the
fan is all about. Really. I mean, you and I
(47:17):
are trying to be the voice of the common sense fan.
But I think some of these people are out of control.
I get that, but let them live, let them have
some fun. No, no, I won't. I won't stand for
I will not stand for fun. Like I'm all for fun. Andy,
you just can't be unreasonable. So there's a lot of
we'll get into it a little bit later, but this
(47:39):
Baker Mayfield utter love fest where you got the Ravens
defensive coordinator Don Martindale talking about he's gonna be a
like a Brett Farv or a John Elway, and it's
like he's just four turnovers against the Raiders and we're
talking about Brett Farve or John Elway. Let's settle it
(48:00):
down here. So that's the thing. You can be a fan,
you can get giddy, you can be optimistic, but as
soon as you get unreasonable, that's where it's like being
a fan isn't a good enough excuse to be dumb. Okay,
you talk about a coach, and then I'm talking about
the media. When Sam Donald came to New York, they
went crazy with him. What happened to him? Now he's
(48:20):
yesterday's news. No one talks about Sam Donald anymore. He's
not to save you for the Jets, at least this year.
Maybe next year he will be not this year, it's over.
He had his day on opening Day and that's the
end of it. Remember the back page of the tabloids
and you're going crazy. They built a statue for this guy.
But you know what, the only statue that should be
built is for Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay. And they're
(48:41):
gonna win today. Pack they beat Detroit today. Come on,
you want to put some Scooby Snacks on this one? Yeah? Yeah,
Sunday's breakfast breakfast? Okay, you you you name it next,
Sunday's Breadfast. I'll buy you breakfast next. How are you
gonna buy me breakfast? You sendit a bill? You sendmit
(49:01):
a bill, send your check. Um, well, I'm tempted to
have like the seven course Can you have a seven
course breakfast? Do they do that? I guess buffats will
have that, you know, the eggs, to pancakes, to bacon,
the whole deal it is. And this is where my
mind immediately goes andy. I'm like, how expensive could I
(49:23):
make breakfast? No, your mind is like, how could I
beat firm and up? That's what that's your mind was.
I get it. I know, really, what's the most expensive
breakfast you've ever had. I'm not a big breakfast person.
You know. Every once in a while I'll go to
my Bob Evans and not breakfast. But it's not much money.
It's about eight and dollars that's about it. You know,
(49:44):
gets some hot green tea. I like that, I really do.
With some some eggs, maybe bacon, bacon, like bake coast.
I like bacon, Yes, bacon. Oh, by the way, Aaron
Rodgers getting back to this game, was yeah, he's gonna
have to earn his money today because you look at
all these receivers who are banged up. Randall Cobb is out,
(50:06):
Davante Adams got a calf injury, Geronimo Allison's got a concussion.
When you're like, oh man, Geronimo Allison might not be
able to go today, you know, or he's out, it's like,
oh gosh, we're really scraping the bottom of the barrel here,
and you're gonna have to have some of these lesser
known receivers really step up and they're gonna have to
get really creative against the Lions defense. Now, think about
(50:30):
when the Lions smacked around the Patriots. I think it's very,
very comparable because you've got Jimmy Graham. It's very good
and very capable tight end. You can just double him
like Gronk and forced these receivers on the outside to
beat you. And with a banged up Aaron Rodgers at
least he's not as healthy as he typically would be.
(50:51):
Well he's nursing that knee injury. I think it lends
itself to the same type of scenario as we saw
when the Lions smacked around the Patriots. So don't fall
into the trap of thinking that just because he's Aaron Rodgers,
the Packers are gonna be fine. Tom Brady is outstanding
and he could do nothing against that Lions defense, even
(51:13):
with their the run defense as bad as it is.
So I see the Lions in this one. Andy. I
think this one glaring statistic that we have to touch
on the right. The Lions rank dead last and converting
possessions into touchdowns, so they can't do squat once they
get in the red zone except for matt Pray to
the field goal kicker, and if they rely on him
in the red zone, that ess basically what they do.
(51:34):
So you know, Matthew Stafford, if in fact he could
get things going in the red zone. Yes, they'll give
the Packers a problem. But I will tell you right
here and now. I think the Packers have less of
a margin for for error than the Lions do, and
I think they have a better team than the Lions.
I think they win. But again, if the Packers lose
today and the Lions win, that really puts a stranglehold
(51:54):
on that division. It's just all about today, Andy, at
full strength, yeah, I would look at the Packers more
than the Lions. But the Packers are not at full strength.
And it's all about when the game's happened. We say
any given Sunday for a reason. You know, it's about timing,
and this is a bad time for the Packers. And
(52:15):
if you want to talk about the Lions and converting
touchdowns and all of that, that's fine. But when the
Patriots only put up ten points the last time the
Lions played a home game, you don't have to convert
many touchdowns if you're the Lions offense, you know so
that very well. How many points do you think the
Packers score today? I think the Packers scored about thirty today.
(52:36):
Oh you're treat you are out of your mind about
sorting Andy, write this down. I want you to write
this down because next week I'll lead crow or I'm
gonna be banging on my chest. I say they win
thirty seventeen today, right that down? Oh my gosh, yes,
(52:59):
thank you? Thirty points and yes, yes and with who
who's gonna step up? No Davante Adams, no Randall Cob
no Geronimo Ellison all out? That's fine. Rogers Aaron Rodgers creates,
he creates. Did you see them last week against the Bills.
(53:21):
That's a bad team. You know what, Sometimes you performance,
You play for your competition, you really do. Okay, So
are the Lions world beaters? You just thought about it?
Don't convert touchdowns? Okay? So why would the Lions bring
out the Packers back? Yeah? And I know I'm making
you feel bit because you probably have some schoolbes on
this game and you take I know, yeah, but I've
talked myself into it on the Lions today. That's fine.
(53:44):

me that the pack of score athorty today if you

nine Fox eight seven seven nine nine six sixty nine.
But the only was Andy. The only people that would
agree with you, they've got green in their Twitter handle,
you know, like Lambeau Underscore, Bob Lambeau Underscore, Randy. Those
people might agree with you. Everybody else know, I love
(54:48):
a zip code of five five something, which is green. Day.
There you go. If it wasn't for bad luck, they'd
have no luck at all. That's next speed kills and
they have it. We'll explain that in just about a minute.
Twenty pist are we call this Fox Football Sunday. He's

(55:31):
know you got a tweet as well. I'd love to
hear it. Yes, this is from Grizzly Chief. He writes
in and says it's been raining all night here in
Casey and looks like it will probably still be raining
at game time. Might not be an offensive game for
the Chiefs today. That plus Jags defense make me weary
of the Chiefs win today. Might be a slop fest. Interesting,
(55:56):
there's some intel intel from Grizzly Chief. Thank you, Grizzly Chief.
You know with the war paint done, these guys go
to those games with the war paint. I mean again,
you see you get upset with the fans that go crazy,
that are over the top, like you know, the Trabinsky fans.
They think that he's the next Toll of Fame. He's
an excit lookman for the Bears, right, And that's fine.
I mean, that's you a progative. I get crazy when
(56:17):
I see watching a game on TV and and the
camera pans to a guy in the stands that's wearing
like a Zoro outfit. Really, I mean a guy that's
wearing not really, I'm a guy that's like the Halloween
will be unbelievable in the stands. And I've always wondered,
when you're driving to a game, do they wear these
costumes in their car driving to the game that the
(56:37):
Raider fans that were crazy noxious outfits. I love that stuff.
You don't like that. I cannot imagine driving my car
to a game, getting going to a stoplight, turning to
my right or to my left, and seeing a guy
in the car next to me wearing a Batman outfit.
I just don't understand. I couldn't think. I couldn't picture that. Really,
I just could not. Alright, I'm just saying, you know what,
(56:58):
I haven't dressed up for a game but I don't
look down upon it. I like it. That's other people's deal.
That's cool with me. I have a much less of
a problem with people doing that than I do. Like
they're crazy opinion, like I'm a insert team here, therefore
they're gonna win it all, and it's it's just ridiculous, man.
(57:21):
I know that. That's why you and I are so
well versed, because you know we kind of like rub
shoulders in some sort of way. You know, I'm like
the sandpaper to you. I'm I'm your sandpaper. I know
I am in a sense, I'm rough around the edges. Yeah,
Oh that's good. Man's not all bad. I'm gonna talk
about this team. They gotta win, and they could have
(57:41):
had a second win, the one two and one. That's
the Browns that lost an overtime game to Oakland forty
two list week. And to make these even worse, I
don't know why they do this. The NFL said there
was a bed whistle which close the Browns of fumble recovery,
you know, and why why would you like pour salt
on an open wound? You'll lost the freaking game. The
coaching staff probably knew was a bad call. But the
(58:04):
lead's gotta confirm it like on Wednesday or Thursday and say,
oh my goodness, what a punch in the gut. If
you remember the play, there's like some six minutes and
thirty nine seconds left in regulation. Derek Carr, the quarterback
of the Raiders, lost control of the ball after Miles
Garrett and Gerald Avery of the Browns hit him at
Oakland on the thirty eight yard line. Garrett recovered began
running towards the end zone. The referee, Walter Anderson said
(58:24):
a whistle had blown before the fumble because cars forward
passed had stopped the progress. Anderson ruled to play a
sack and the Rates punched in on the fourth down.
That was the end of it, and the NFL in
a in a review said it was a fumble. Why
did they do that? Why? Well, I think a lot
of it is due to gambling. Now how the rules
have been relaxed significantly. I understand it. Andy with you,
(58:48):
it's like, well, you can't do anything about it now,
so what does that really do? It's all about, hey, hey,
it's we're on the up and up. We just missed something.
No conspiracy going on here. We're not during the outcome
of games, and that's all it is. And it's been
ramped up now that gambling is more prevalent, so you're
gonna have more of these situations, and I think a
(59:10):
lot of people they'll look at them and be like, oh,
the Browns got hosed. It actually didn't end up hosing
the Browns because the Raiders punted, the Brown scored to touchdown.
It actually chewed up a good minute and a half.
As it turns out, that could have helped the Raiders out.
So you have to look at what happened next when
there was a bad call. It clearly was a fumble,
(59:32):
should have been ruled a fumble, but as things turned out,
the Brown scored a touchdown anyway on the ensuing drive,
So it's a complete wash. It's just that's why they
come out and be like, oh, hey, everything's cool. It's
Demorris Smith, Mr NFL P. A earlier this week he
was pointing a finger at the NFL, which I mean
(59:53):
almost never happens, Andy, and he was like, I don't
know that they've done enough in terms of all of
these gambling situations where you have some owners that have
vested interest in whether it be like fantasy sports, and
he's like, how how is that exactly gonna work? And
we haven't done a great job of making sure the
(01:00:15):
game is pure, And I was like, how exactly can
you do that? How do you do it? How do
you change that? You can't. The only thing that you
can do is if there's a brutal call and people
start calling for a conspiracy is to say, no, no,
we miss that are bad. But we're not doctoring games here.
We're not in the business of going to federal prison
(01:00:37):
by by saying if Baker Mayfield can win his first
start or not. You know, it's crazy, and you kind
of open my eyes a little bit now I understand
why the NFL is doing that. It's a gambling situation,
you're right, I mean, and for a person like myself
who's not a gambler per se. And I don't know,
I'm just saying that you are. But you're more adverse
to it that than I am, because you stiwhat you
(01:00:58):
dabbling it a little bit and I don't really do
it much. So that yeah, yeah, that's not bad. It
really isn't. But I'm talking about this Ravens team. I mean,
they're a surprise team. They're three and one, are getting
not much respect. And I tell you, I said in
the beginning of the segment that speed kills and the
Ravens have it. They've got a revamped lineup, they really do.
Michael Crabtree and why receiver John Brown, this guy could run.
(01:01:20):
They got speeches Willie Snead. This team right now is
a is a remake, it really is. And it's given
new life to their quarterback in situation and Joe Flacco,
he's having a heck of a year. And it's because
of those guys. Yeah, And you know, if you look
at all the three and one teams in football right now,
outside of the Saints and Jaguars, it's like almost all
(01:01:44):
of these teams aren't getting a lot of attention. And
you don't want to buy in your reluctant because of
recent lack of success. Dolphins, Ravens, who were just talking
about in this game, Bengals, Bears, Titans. You know, all
of those teams are getting overlooked. And it's not because
(01:02:05):
of this year. It's because of what's happened in the past.
But to your point, Andy, with the Ravens and what
they're doing, not only offensively, and Joe Flacco has been
playing better than he has before, and the weapons are
better there in terms of uh wide receivers to throw too.
That defense is pretty good. I like their defense over there.
(01:02:25):
And you get Jimmy Smith back healthy, uh well off
of the suspension, you get him back in that secondary.
So it's gonna be a big test for Baker Mayfield,
who could not have more rose pedals being thrown at
his feet right now. It's getting discussing at this point.
The guy's twenty seven and passer rating. He had a
huge interception at the end of regulation when they're close
(01:02:48):
to field goal range against the Raiders, and it's just like, well,
well as if it didn't happen. It's crazy to me,
it's such a honeymoon period with Baker Mayfield right now.
He would have to be a tro just today for
people to be like, hey, adding off game, what are
you gonna do? One thing though, I don't know if
this is done intentionally or not, but that Baker Mayfield
(01:03:10):
honeymoon may very well save you Jackson's job. I mean
maybe back next year because of that. Think about that.
You don't hear much a griping or and a lot
of media repusts that you Jackson's on his way out now.
Back in June and July, you heard that everybody said
he was on the hot seat, may be the first
guy to go, first guy fired as a head coach.
But right now, since they bench to Rod Taylor and
(01:03:30):
you Jackson is now working with the rookie Baker Mayfield,
they'll say, well, let's give you Jackson another year to
work with him, and that may save his job. It's possible.
It just depends exactly how the season unfolds, and not
only what their record is, but how did they end.
Do they end on a two game winning streak, and
there's a lot of positivity and ownership says, well that
(01:03:53):
means screw it. I mean it's looking pretty good. We're
pointing in the right direction. Whatever. It's all about how
they finished, not just their overall record. So it's it's
a coin flip at this point whether he was gonna
be back. But what do you think is gonna happen today?
Is this Baker's first win at home against the Ravens?
Not at all. I think the Ravens are a better team,
and certainly I think that the Ravens put up a
(01:04:14):
lot of points against him today too. You know what's
been overlooked, Andy, is all this Baker focus. What happened
to that Brown's defense last week? I like their defense overall.
They got absolutely torched by Derek Carr, who, by the way,
only has six touchdown passes in seven interceptions this year.
And Derek Carr had a field day against the Browns.
(01:04:37):
So I don't know what their defense is gonna do
today against Joe Flacco and the Ravens when the Ravens
have had a lot of success against the Browns over
the year. And here's another fact that I don't think
a lot of people talk about the Browns. They may
have some personnel and have a decent defense, and offensively
they got the run game going maybe who knows, and
that Baker love fest I know. But at the end
(01:04:58):
of the day, this team doesn't know how to win
because they've never won. I think that means a lot
in sports, not just in football. They don't know how
to win, they don't know how to close, and they
don't know how to win, and that's gonna hurt them
until they get a couple of wins together. They're gonna
be in trouble, and they'll be in trouble today, Brian
No Andy Furman, probably brought to you by Geico. What
does it mean when just fifteen minutes could save you
(01:05:19):
fifteen percent of moral cor insurance? What it means you
probably should have gone to GAO dot com fifteen minutes ago,
not today. This is big. Today it's no versus Ferman
on the field. But before that it's our guy Ralph
Irvan with the latest. Well, thank you very much, gentlemen,

but whether or not he's going to hold it is
another issue altogether because of the melee that occurred after
the fight was over, both in and out of the ring.
(01:06:03):
Lots to be sorted out, and uh, nothing really definitive
yet coming from UFC. Meanwhile, on the Diamonds on Saturday,
the Major League Baseball playoffs continued with the American League
Divisional Series. The Yankees tied up their series with Boston
and the game a piece with a six to win,
while Houston extended their lead in their series to two

games to none with a three one decision over Cleveland.

number thirteen Kentucky Utah shocks Number fourteen Stanford forty to

(01:07:06):
held on though to beat Florida State the number seventeen
Hurricanes seven winners. And gentlemen, we're just five and a
half hours away from the one pm Eastern kickoff of
eight grade games in the NFL. One of those let's
just call it the brawl for it all, the war
to settle the score Andy Cincinnati Bengals hosting Brian's Miami Dolphins,
(01:07:27):
a battle of three and one teams. Hello, thank you,
Ralp seeing about an hour. But let's face it, it
was a schedule. We'll explain that in just about a minute.
He's Brian No, I'm Andy Freman. We call this Fox
Football Sunday. And by the way, we want to welcome everybody.
Did a Fox Butts Radio Studios brought to you by Geico.
It's easier to say more on our insurance with Geico.
Got a Geico dot com. We'll call eight D nine
(01:07:49):
seven at all. The only hard part figuring out which
way is easier and bottom barrel betting comes along in
about ten minutes from now. And as Ralph Evan mentioned,
it's you and me on the field today, I mean,
you know, look at it, you know, ten paces but
up ACKs to each other. You know. Miami Dolphins, my
Citati Bengals. And the reports that the Dolphins three and
will start was maybe the beginning of a new day
(01:08:09):
for Dolphins football in the a f C East. Let's
face it, not be they were overblown, overblown, they were premature.
They were embarrassed by New England seven and honestly, I
gotta say you could point to their week schedule maybe
for early success. Well, that Titans win looks a lot
better after the Titans beat the Eagles, but that's easily
(01:08:32):
their most impressive win. Beating the Jets and also um
beating the Raiders. That wasn't you know, everything to just
write home about. So yeah, it was a the flimsy
three and oh and they were absolutely exposed by the Patriots,
which is not a shock at all with the Patriots
being one and two and people counting them out. No,
(01:08:53):
the demise and you knew that they were going to
be completely laser focused, and they absolutely crushed the Dolphins.
So this week, going up against the Bengals, that interior
line for the Dolphins, their offensive line is incredibly banged up.
You have their center, Daniel Kilgore, he's on I R.
You also have Josh Sitting the guard who's on I R.
(01:09:15):
That is not good to be weak in the interior
of your offensive line. When you've got Geno Atkins on
that Bengals d line. The guy is absolutely nasty man.
That is not a good combination for the Fins. Well,
I'll say this though, I mean, you throw at the
bank under stuck in me excuses why your teammate lose today,
But there's no Tyler Eifford and what he happened? Did
(01:09:36):
you see that playlist week? I mean it was just
I mean they didn't want to show the replay on TV.
When your leg is one way and your foot is
facing the other. I mean that was like disgusting. I
mean he was You saw tears when they caught it
him out. He was crying. I mean, I don't blame him.
I mean, this guy's got like the worst health luck
in the World's got no luck. So he's gone. He
broke his ankle. Joe Bernard the running game, he's gone
(01:09:57):
now all for the Bengals as well, but Vontes Perfect
makes his return after the full game suspensioned. I think,
you know, the game being at home and with the
Bengals have offensively even despite Geo Bernard not playing, with
a j. Green playing tremendous football and really Andy Thoran
playing maybe the best football of his career this year.
You know, I just think that the Bengals are a
better team with the Dolphins coming off that that's being
(01:10:20):
smacked around by the Patriots. I think the Bengals win
this game, and I think they may win it bid well.
The Bengals. It's again, it's the recent history. White people
are reluctant to buy in, and they're a team that
poses a lot of problems. You have Joe Mixon back
there with that knee injury. He should be in action.
I know you as you mentioned, Geo Bernard is out.
(01:10:40):
But if you get Joe Mixon back in when he's healthy,
he's a difference maker and that's a big loss. Losing
Tyler Eiffort when he is contributing. Man, that offense is
really really tough. We got a lot of weapons. They
still do, but they are really complete when you have
Tyler Eiffort and his past catching ability and like you said,
the back injuries and those issues, and he's missed a
(01:11:02):
lot of games. Finally gets healthy and then just this
fluke play gets rolled up on during a tackle, nothing dirty,
and he just snaps an ankle. It's brutal, and you
could tell when he was being wheeled off all the
hard work that goes into being in a position to
be able to contribute and that's taken away. That's someone
like just taking your guts out you know, it's just
(01:11:26):
absolutely demoralizing, So you feel for a guy like that.
But there's definitely gonna be an impact on that Bengals
offense not having Ifford out there. You know. I'll say this,
and I followed the Bengals for years and living in
the area. The one thing that Bengals seem to have
this year, probably more so than in the year's passed
and recent years passed that is they have big playability
on the offensive side of the football. Yeah, they got
(01:11:48):
a good pass rush, there's no doubt about that, but
they never really had the big bang, bang, big play
and they got that right now. They got Tyler Boyd
as a as a compliment to a J. Green on
the offensive side of the ball, and I've it that
really poses a lot of problems for defenses, especially a
team like the Miami Dolphins or not that strong defensively.
They're really not. Yeah, man, that's a great one to combo.
(01:12:11):
There's no doubt Tyler Boyd is very much overlooked because
of a J. Grain. It's similar to if you look
at Calvin Ridley, the rookie, he's not gonna get a
ton of props because he's playing with Julio Jones. You know,
so Julio is gonna get all the attension and all
the conversation. But Tyler Boyd is a very very good
(01:12:34):
number two receiver. He's solid, he's consistent. So you know,
this Bengals team, if they can string together some wins here,
this should be a win. This would be a very
Bengals loss. If they found a way to kick this
game away. I'm gonna just say it right now. If
they lose today in Cincinnati, all the year goes out
of the bubble. It's gonna be a woewee's me and
it's gonna be the fans saying, same old Bengals, especially
(01:12:56):
if they kick it away, be the same old Bengles,
you know, And that's way, that's what fans are. But
you know, really and truly, you have to understand they
used to that in Cincinnati. They really are. Well, it's
a big three week stretch for them because the Bengals
they're at home against the Dolphins today, they're at home
against the Steelers next week, and then they're at Kansas City,
so that this should be a win for the Bengals.
(01:13:18):
And when you've got the Steelers and Casey coming up.
It needs to be a win today for the Bengals.
And I hate to say this as as a Bengals fan,
I want to see them do well. They could, in
fact loose two of the next three. Well yeah, I mean,
they could easily drop a game to the Steelers into
the Chiefs. And it's not outside the realm of possibility
that the Dolphins beat the Bengals today. It's not the
(01:13:39):
like the Bengals are a juggernaut or anything like that.
But yeah, I think that there's probably uh man, is
there a better chance that the Bengals go two and
one or one and two over these next three? Because
assuming they win today, do you give them a win
against the Steelers or casey, you say they dropped both
of those? And you know what, I hate to say this, pise.
I don't want to be on the ants. I'm not
(01:14:00):
that kind of a person, but I really would rather
see Okay, I would say they soon ago one and two,
But I'll tell you why I say that. I really
would rather see how Ben Roethlisberger plays today. Is is
he on the downswing or is he just had a
couple of bad games. That's what I want to see
in Pittsburgh. I just you know, it's like you'd say,
you know, people say they go on past results. Well,
(01:14:21):
you know what, although the Steelers right now are hurting,
I still look at them as what they have done.
And all the Bengals of three and one, I think
most people look at what they have done. That's why
you're not buying in with the Bengals as three and one.
And you're not gonna buy it that the Steelers are
a failure yet yet, right. That's the way it is. Yeah,
you make a lot of sense. I'd love to go
(01:14:43):
against you. I'll go against you and bottom barrel betting.
But there's a better chance that they go one and two. Um,
But you know, it's one of those teams. The Bengals
are one of those teams. Until they do what, you
can't quite buy in there. The reverse Patriots. You should
be late to the part party of saying the Bengals
are gonna do something significant. You should just wait until
(01:15:04):
they do, you know, And you should be late to
the party of saying the Patriots the demise is here.
Just wait for that to happen before you say it.
Because you've been proven wrong season after season after season
and this might be the latest installment, and so are
you can sting a Bengal win today over your Dolphins?
I just want to hear it. Yes, louder, louder, louder
(01:15:26):
as much as you can get Andy, It's as much
as you're gonna get over here, you know what. But
I will tag it out with this, just to kind
of spruce it up a little bit. Yeah, they're still
pride over here, Andy Furman. But yeah, I would push
comes to shove. I would say Bengals win this one,
all right? Brian No. Andy Ferman went live and the
guy called Fox Posts Radio Studios. Now this is the
(01:15:47):
game that has everyone talking. It's bottom barrel betting that
it is freaking next bottom barrel betting coming right up
about twelve minutes before at the top of the hour.
We call this Fox Football Sunday. He's Brian No, I'm
Andy Fromman with a lie for the guy Fox What's
radio studios? But we have a game to play, So
what are we waiting for? Let's do it? Bottom wanted
(01:16:11):
to sleep people, get my money. I'll put your brank
to sleep. Yes it is. It has probably brought to you.
If I discover card we treat you like you treat you.
But here he is the host of this great game,
the one, the only Ryan Dennis. Hello again, guys. I
can't believe it's week five of the NFL season already.
I spent the whole summer just in full anticipation, waiting
(01:16:32):
for the season. Here we are already almost to the
for your Eagles to drop to two and three? Ready
for that? To Ryan Dennis, I'm not that you know,
I don't think it's gonna happen. But no, I mean
they're gonna beat the Titans last week though, didn't you
think that they should have? But Jalen Mills, he had
he had other plans, according to uh, according to that secondary,
(01:16:53):
he was horrible. But you know they're at home today.
I'm I have a little more faith, but I wouldn't
say it's out of the realm. So okay, But speaking
of winds two and three, Brian, no, it looks like
you're on a little bit of a hot Why you
get me two out of three? You say I got
two out of two and one two out of three?
(01:17:13):
Sat same thing, isn't It's not It's different than Yeah,
hey man, I'm just saying, what did I miss What
did I miss? I was hoping for three and oh
the only one you missed was a Rosen throwing over
two hundred two hundred point five passing yards. He actually
had one eight on the day. So um. The other
(01:17:37):
one I thought was funny. Uh you know the uh
the Giants and the Saints were playing each other and
we had you know, combined touchdown passes by both quarterbacks.
Only one was thrown in that game. It was not
nearly a shootout that we that we thought it might be.
So did Andy take the overrun that one? Yeah, he
took the over. Yeah, to say, for yourself, I have
(01:18:00):
to go to the bathroom. Will be about that my
hand down my throat. By the way, Andy, I missed that.
Bet I had the over in the Saints Giants game
and they just could not get on track. Man, And
finally Camara scored at the end when they're basically running
the clock out, and it gave me a glimmer of hope.
(01:18:22):
And Eli manning against the prevent defense, he was like, yeah,
why don't I just hold the ball too long and
take a sack and fumble the ball and that's that appears.
No for taking the over that's what Eli. That was
his plan the whole the whole time. That was the game.
Let's getting all right? Yeah, So you guys were talking
about it a little bit earlier, high over under fifty
eight for the Falcons at Steelers. Later today, I actually
(01:18:45):
think it's an for that over under. I think it's
an easy over. So I made my own over under
for this game over under sixty five and a half
and Falcons and Steelers. And if you remember the Bengals
and the Falcons last week, it was a seventy three
e total for that, So that's that's how I kind
of got it. So, Brian, sixty five and a half
over under for Falcons at Steelers, an adjusted line by you,
(01:19:08):
I have to take the under, just based on the odds.
To your point, Ryan, it could it could go over.
I wouldn't be shocked, but the odds favored the under,
so I'll take that. You know, it's funny you mentioned
that I'd look at I look at the total right
now in this game about sixty three. So I gotta
go under because I my backs against the wall with
(01:19:29):
now I gotta start winning here because I look like
a fool. So I'm going under. Alright, alright, we'll switch
over here. You guys were also talking about this, Jalen
Ramsey and Tyreek Hill. They've been doing a little trash
talking back and forth leading up to their Jags at
Kansas City on Sunday. Jalen Ramsey doesn't really believe Tyreek
is a wide receiver. Ramsey doesn't isn't really over Hill,
(01:19:52):
wasn't really over impressed, overly impressed with Ramsey. That being said,
over under fifty and a half receiving yards for Tyreek
Hill on the day against the Jacks. Andy, you know,
I say under, I say under on that. Yeah, I'll
take the over Trey Kill. Yeah, you've got the explosive
(01:20:12):
playmaking ability over there. That's not a crazy total at all.
I think we're selling him too short to say, yeah,
he's not capable, like of course he's caps all right, Yeah,
I think it could go either way on that one.
So we'll see. And then, finally, after a shootout with
the Vikings in l A during last week's t NF game,
(01:20:34):
the Rams pretty much looking stoppable, at least to me.
L A travels to Seattle this weekend and the Seahawks
defense is not really what it once was so over
under thirty and a half points for just the Rams
against Seattle. Brian m hmm, good line by you. Ryan
Dennis appreciate that. I think I want to go three
(01:20:57):
and oh badly, I'm gonna I'll take the over because
there's no Thomas, You've got Sean mcveigh's gonna exploit matchups.
I'll take the over. You're gonna scored thirty four, I'll
take over specific there's only one when one difference between
(01:21:17):
the two you guys, So we'll see all right. By
the way, he said, no playoffs for this team, and
that person looks pretty good so far. We'll tell you
all about it on Fox Football Sunday. Next one weapon
could help. We'll tell you all about that in just
about a minute. But right now it's time to say
good morning America. Yes, it is that time. It's Fox
Football Sunday. He's Brian No, I'm a d Fermini. We're

partner and cry my friend, the man who works harder
than anyone in the world of twelve Radio, the one
the only Brian know. Hello, be, this is the hour
(01:22:01):
of power. How are you good? To be with you?
Andy Furman? Getting set for week five. I'm perusing the
betting lines right now. I gotta have some solid nose
picks later in the broadcast. Trying to go three and
o here, so I should have some tasty selections for
you before we get out of here. Sounds wonderful. Later
(01:22:22):
this hour we will ended up with nose pis. We
also have at the bottom of the hour that would
be eight thirty Eastern time, Alex Marvez, the chic Fox
Sports Radios, NFL Insider, and of course Brian No. I'm
gonna say right now to the world you were the man.
You are the man. You called it early, you said
no playoffs. Just here for the Philadelphia Eagles, so far
you run on point. Maybe they have a Super Bowl hangover.
(01:22:45):
I don't know, but today they're hosting the Eagles of
the Eagles of hosting the Vikings, and it's critical gay
for both. It really is Vikings one, two and one,
the Eagles two and two in Philly, and uh, they
lost a heartbreaker at Tennessee list we an ote twenty
three and the Vikings lost to the Rams one. So
(01:23:06):
really I like the Eagles soonly because the game is
in Philly, but uh, it's not the same Eagles scene
that we saw it last year. And the schedule was
allowed to do with it, right, absolutely it does. And
they haven't even gotten into the tough portion yet. They
lost at Tampa with Ryan Fitzpatrick who was fitz Magic
at that point, and they lost that Tennessee last week.
(01:23:29):
So you look at it just the first quarter of
the season. Falcons, Tampa, Colts, Titans. That's what the Eagles
have faced and their two and two. Like you just
look at the rest of the schedule. It's Vikings today, shortly, Panthers, Jaguars, Saints.
(01:23:49):
You know. Then you get into the division play and
at the Rams is a game in uh in mid December.
So it's a tough road man, and you're the defending champs.
You were an absolutely marked team and your franchise quarterback
had surgery on two tor knee ligaments in December, and
(01:24:10):
to think that it's just gonna be a well oiled
machine and they were just gonna pick up where they
left off and it's full speed ahead. It was a
complete overreaction to them getting hot at the right time
last postseason, no doubt about that. And don't forget I
think the end of the month October twenty they paid
Jacksonville and that game is in London. That doesn't help either.
You know, when you're down, you're down and out, you're losing,
(01:24:30):
you're not doing well. Then you've gotta take that journey
to England. It's it's not pleasant, it really isn't. So yeah,
you look at this if you break it down into
quarters of the season, So the first quarters done with
the first four games, right, So the second quarter? How
about this, Andy, you go Vikings at the Giants on
(01:24:51):
Thursday night football, then you host the Panthers and you're
in London against the Jaguars. That's not an easy road.
So no, I wouldn't be shocked if they're two and
two at the end of this. You know four games
stretch coming up. So yeah, I think it's going to
be a non playoff season for the Eagles. People said
I was crazy, I was out of my mind, and
(01:25:13):
I don't think that's the case at all. And this
is a big game for them today because if they
drop it and go to two and three, I'm looking
great home. That's really what they should do as a
home favorite. I'm with you right there. You know. I've
always respected you, you know that, and always been your
friend and a partner. But I have newfound respect because
you went on the limb. No one said that. I
(01:25:34):
had never seen anyone national, local, print, electronic media say
that they would not make the playoffs, except you're the
only one. I guarantee you're the only one on Fox
Sports Radio said that. And I don't think you said
it just to be controversial. You basically looked at the
schedule and figured it out and said, hey, it ain't
gonna happen in that division. They're not making the playoffs. Well,
(01:25:56):
and there's a long way to go for it to
be right. But when you're playing the NFC South top
to bottom, that's the toughest division in football. And when
you're playing a first place schedule, you're picking up the
Vikings today and also the Rams in Week fifteen. Those
are the two teams you play thanks to winning the
division last year. That's not an easy road. So you
(01:26:19):
think about the Eagles last season, they're playing a last
play schedule, so you don't have any cupcakes like the
Bears to beat up on last year, you know, so
it's a different ballgame. And the thing with Carson Wentz,
it was crazy how people are acting like, oh, yeah,
torn a c l and December, no big deal, He'll
be back to m v P form, no problem, And
(01:26:39):
I'm not rooting for that to happen. That was just unrealistic.
And when you have a legitimate m v P front runner,
and he probably would have wanted if not for injury
last year, to think that he was just going to
maintain that pace was completely crazy. There was no way
he was going to be able to do that. The
question today as Andy, can Carson Wentz have a lot
(01:27:02):
of success against that Vikings past defense which has been atrocious.
You had Mike Zimmer after the Thursday Night lost against
Jared Goff and the Rams, he said, probably anywhere he's
been this is as bad as the past defense he's
ever seen. He's been around a long time. He was
there with your Bengals for a long time. He was
(01:27:23):
defensive coordinated for the Cowboys for a while. That's right.
So he's been around the game. A long time, and
for him to say, man, this past defense not as
bad as I've ever seen that, and that's one of
the biggest shockers, you know, in the national football this
has been a lot of shockers. I'm sure we'll tote
to the chic about that at the bottom of the hour,
But you know, one of the shockers this year has
been a the Eagles and their slow start, but the
(01:27:44):
schedules to blame for sure, But the Vikings not only
they won two and one, but honestly, it's the lack
of defense. And they look, they lost to Buffalo, you know,
and I gave up twenties twenty seven points to Buffalo
earlier this year. And really and truly the coaching staff
is like i'med on defense. Zimmer is a defensive whiz,
they say, and for them to be playing that kind
(01:28:05):
of defense is very uncharacteristic, you know, for any coach,
and any Zimmer coach team, I can't believe it. However,
as bad as that Eagle schedule has been, and you
laid it out the next four games, it gets a
little bit better for the Minnesota Vikings because next week
Arizona at home. That should be a win at the Jets.
That should be a win. New Orleans would be tough,
(01:28:26):
and then Detroit at home that should be a win.
So they should win three of the next four, and
they couldn't win all four. Well, let's just take the
next three, right. If you beat the Eagles today, like
you just said, you're at home against the Cardinals, then
you're at the Jets. They could rattle off a nice
little three game winning streak and all of a sudden
(01:28:46):
four two and one. That looks a whole lot better
than one two in one right now. So it starts
against the Eagles. Is a big test for a Vikings
team because if you dropped to one three and one
and you play poorly on defense, again, that is how
you make your money. It starts with your defense, at
least how the Vikings are constructed. Kirk Cousins is capable
(01:29:08):
and they can do a lot of things offensively, but
the strength of that team starts with the defense, and
with them underperforming as badly as they did last Thursday,
you really have to have a better effort today or
I don't know if they can get on track this season.
These teams that have high expectations going into a year,
you see it all the time. Andy, They get off
to a bad start and they start pressing, and I
(01:29:29):
start trying to three or four games at once, and
just snowballs and it gets out of control. This is
the snowball prevention game for the Vikings today. If they
can beat the Eagles, well for both, for both really
for both teams. I think more so for the Vikings
just because of how ugly it's been the last two weeks.
You lost by three touchdowns at home against the Bills
(01:29:53):
and Josh Allen making his first start and then he
got shredded by the Rams. So if you have another
and barrassing performance, they're one three and one would be
way worse than a two in three Eagles team. That's
what the records would be should either of them lose today.
I think it'd be way worse for the Vikings. And
if you have Mike Zimmer and someone would the pose
(01:30:14):
the question, well how do I beat the Eagles today?
You have to say, go after their corners and a
guy like Stefon Diggs has to have a big day
today against maybe a guy like Jalen Mills. I mean,
you gotta attack the corners on the Philadelphia Eagles if
in fact they can I mean can't. Can't Kirk Cousins
get that? Could he have success against them today? That's
the the basic key I think of this game. Oh
(01:30:35):
he absolutely can, no doubt. And it was a joke
for Kirk Cousins to get criticized after the performance against
the Rams. It's insane to me. You know. It's like
people will criticize Tom Brady for losing to the Eagles
in the Super Bowl. Did you see the Patriots defense?
(01:30:56):
You know what I mean? Like, if you look at
Kirk Cousins last week against the Ram he had a
great game, over three hundred and fifty yards passing three
touchdown pass I think it was over four hundred. Actually,
you're a great game, you know, and you're gonna put
that on Kirk or criticize him before the defense? That
defense was atrocious against the Rams. So I just hate
(01:31:17):
when a lot of people will overlook obvious flaws and
obvious deficiencies to just go straight to the quarterback and
be like, this guy's not getting it done. You hear
that a lot with Matthew Stafford and the and the Lions.
You know, he hasn't been walking on water but there
are a lot more things to blame than just Matthew Stafford.
So I think that Kirk Cousins, in the same division,
(01:31:40):
is in that same ballpark right now where you overlook
other deficiencies and go straight to him. It's crazy when
I'll go one stuff further. I mean, we could see
we've very well could see a shootout in this game.
Goes to the lack of defense on both sides. I
could see a score maybe in the high sixties combined
on this game. High sixties today, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it
(01:32:02):
could very well be. I think the Eagles could put
about thirty and maybe uh something like maybe thirty one,
something like that. A game like that. I don't see
it that high. I don't. I see it somewhere in
the twenties. But I haven't seen the Eagles offense really
get on track yet. And the Eagles played tough defense
(01:32:25):
at home. They really do. They're really good defensively, So um,
I don't see it being that high scoring. But it's
one of these games. Not great records one two in one,
verses two and two, but it's a huge game for
both Jeffrey back on. The Eagles have al Sean that's
gonna help that when he had over a hundred yards
receiving last week. So yeah, I mean he's gonna help
(01:32:47):
attack that Vikings defense. You know, it's for the Eagles,
So I think it's a big it's a big deal.
But uh, you know, I just I I it's torugh
of me to picture a team that was so dominant
last year, but they were only, as you mentioned, dominant
down the stretch. And as one of those things, you
get a role and you catch that role. I think
the Ravens did that in the Super Bowl year. They
rolled towards the end, they rolled right into the Super Bowl.
(01:33:09):
That's what happens, you know. And it's a situation where
a team that starts off poorly. That's a bigger I
guess it's the bigger taboo for for fans, maybe even
media if a team goes like one in three, like
they freaked out on the Patriots early on. But as
you say, if they go two and two down the
stretch in December, it's not gonna be as bad as
they go two and two in September. That's just the
(01:33:30):
way it is. You're right, yeah, yeah, but hey, listen,
sometimes teams freak out just like fans do. You know,
sometimes teams they start pressing and they get in their
own way. So we'll see if the Vikings can avoid
pressing to a fault. You know. I think there are
times where there's a sense of urgency and your laser
(01:33:54):
focused and you're locked in and it helps. And there
are other times you just try to do too much.
It's like Bell and Check always preaches do your job.
It's like you're trying to do three jobs at one time.
It's just it doesn't work like that. So I'm really
curious who gets on track tonight or today. Is it
gonna be that Vikings defense or will it be that
(01:34:14):
Eagles offense? And that's gonna be uh, it's gonna be
a big factor in who wins today. Good game, ecent
time that game is on Fox. He's Brian Nohmandy Firman.

Studios bottom of the hour, Alex Morvez mentioned Fox Post
Radio's NFL Insider, follow that with Noah's picks, but you
can call them the greatest show on surf. That's next.
Are the comparisons fair Well, we'll tell you in just
about a minute twenty past the hour. This is Fox
Football Sunday. He's Brian no on Andy for Emen. We're
(01:35:00):
brought to you by Discovered Card. We treat you like
you treat you by the way being Gotta ask a
quick question because Alice Morvezo join us in about ten
minutes bottom of the hour, eight thirty Eastern time. When
you look at the schedule for the NFL on any
given Sunday, are there any particular games that you say,
I'd rather watch this one than the other one? Or
you just whatever is on TV the easiest one you
(01:35:21):
flick on, or is this specifically you go to one
one game? To me, if it's on, I watch it.
I don't really care. It doesn't make it that much
of a difference to me. Andy, how long have you
known me? I know, I know why? Why you know?
Because I'm sure there's like you're zeroing in. You probably
have the game zero in on Thursday for Sunday. Well,
(01:35:44):
I go to the sports bar, man, I always go
to the sports bar for the early games, and I
got the Sunday ticket. So the lovely Christina and I,
don't you know, establish roots while we're in the sports
bar all day, you know. So I'll go back with
uh In and get the afternoon games at the place.
(01:36:05):
And you should see me, Andy, I'm like a wizard
with this stuff. So you got the you got four
afternoon games today, right, So if you get a couple
of games on local TV, I'll have the TV set
up on one of them, I'll set up another TV
for the other local game, assuming there's two. I'll be
online for the other two on the computer. So I
got all four. I can't be without a television on
(01:36:29):
a game, Andy, I don't miss games. I gotta bring
that up because there are two games to say after
the four twenty five Eastern time, and I'm torn between
the Vikings and Eagles, which is a pretty good game.
But then you got the Rams at Seahawks, which really
will not be that great of a game, but you
love to see the Rams are undefeated, and you did
a talk of the league at four and no they
meet the two and two Seahawks. Let's week the Rams
(01:36:51):
are over the Vikings thirty one, and the Seahawks did
win at Arizona twenty seventeen. As I mentioned, the Rams
are the talk of the league, the comparisons and not
with the St. Louis Rams greatest show on turf. They're
calling this team the greatest show on surfen. Rams put
some facts for you. They're outpacing those two thousand and
one St. Louis Rams and points thirty five and in
(01:37:14):
yards four sight produced per week. It's amazing, it really is.
So uh that's the question I have. Because both those
games are on simultaneously, I probably end up watching Vikings Eagles.
Well huh, yeah, that's a very good matchup. Um, and
I don't man, Seahawks, it's gonna be tough to keep
this one close, because man, that was a beat down.
(01:37:37):
Remember that game last year when had the long run
and they crushed Rams crushed them, And I would say, Andy,
it's one of the main strengths of the Rams team
is one of the major weaknesses of the Seahawks squad.
Where it's the Rams defensive line, the Seahawks offensive line,
and I don't know how you're supposed to generate offense
(01:38:00):
if you're the Seahawks and you're not gonna have a
a reliable ground game, and Russell Wilson's gonna be running
for his life as he always is. And Thomas is
on the show. Yeah, no, Earl Thomas. And you think
about what Sean McVeigh did scheming wise last week against
the Vikings. When you don't have Earl Thomas out there,
you don't think he's gonna find some matchups to exploit.
(01:38:22):
And I look at this Andy, I'll say this real quickly.
I look at Sean McVeigh and Jared Goff as a
two headed monster. I wouldn't look at McVeigh making Jared Goff.
Why don't we look at Jared Goff and Sean McVeigh
similarly to how we view Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes.
They complement each other, so I would look at them
together instead of giving one the credit and the other
(01:38:45):
guy no credit whatsoever. It's they're a packaged deal. And
when you match the scheming expertise of Sean McVeigh with
the accuracy of Jared Goff, you've got a potent offense man.
And then throw in Todd Gurley, who's like almost stoppable,
and you have that weak defense in Seattle. I don't
know how Seattle stops him. That's just so banged up.
(01:39:05):
How do you how do you stop that? How do
you control a GUYLI Todd Gurley? You just can't. I
mean teams of healthy can't. Yeah. And that's the other thing,
Andy is the Rams really underperformed defensively last week against
the Vikings, so I think that they have much more
focus today. I think that it didn't sit well with
(01:39:27):
them over ten days that they played poorly defensively, So
I think it's gonna be even tougher for the Seahawks
to score points, let alone match points. I just don't
see it for them. But as if there's a positive
over that rest period, at least a they're rested, they're healthy,
They really are. I mean that the ten days off,
they got that long week following that night game, so
(01:39:49):
they're in They're in great shape. They're they're in tremendous
shape right now. The only advantage Seattle has is that
they don't normally lose many games at home, but today
will be one of the games that they will And
I think that's you know, there's reputations where it leads
you to not buy in to a team. We're just
talking about all these three and one squad's andy where
(01:40:09):
it's like the Bengals, the Titans, the Dolphins, it's the
recent history the Bears where you're like, I gotta see more.
And it works the opposite way with the Seahawks, where
you're like, I don't I don't want to count them
out because of why, because of recent history, it's not
about eighteen. You wouldn't look at this team and say
(01:40:31):
if you put them in different uniforms, if you put
the Seahawks squad just roster wise in cowboy uniforms, it's
a completely different evaluation. Oh, no doubt, no doubt. But
you're just lumping them in with the recent past and
all of their success. They are not those Seahawks anymore,
you know why. I think I figured it out, And
(01:40:52):
that's very strange for me to do something like that.
I don't think the average fan or maybe the average
media guy, enjoys seeing the changing of the guard. They
really don't. I mean, there's so set in their ways,
with various teams always on top, like the new England
Patriots always on top. And when you see a newcomer
come along like last year the Rams, last year the Eagles,
(01:41:16):
it's very difficult to see change. And even in life,
we don't accept change that well, so especially in sports
and in the National Football League. You used to Seattle
a winning and be winning at home. Well that's not
happening anymore. It's over. Their run is over. It's it. Well,
I think there's a lot of truth to that, Andy,
(01:41:36):
but I think that the NFL is a lot like
the radio industry. I'll make this comparison and you can
relate to this for sure. This will happen in radio.
Like let's take it, for instance, like the the anthem protests.
You know, for a while, we were talking a lot
about it, and it was like, you gotta have an opinion,
and it strays outside of sports but dips into politics.
(01:41:59):
But this is what everybody's talking about. You gotta have
an opinion, you gotta have a stance. And then it's
done one eighty. It's like, all right, people are sick
of that, just move away from it. If you aren't fluent,
you know, if you aren't adaptable in radio, you're never
gonna make it. And that's just on a one example.
There are so many where it's all right, guys, we're
(01:42:19):
gonna do it this way. Just have this live read
at the beginning of the segment. The next day they're like,
have the light read at the end of the segment.
It's constantly changing and you have to be adaptable. It's
the same thing with the NFL. From season to season,
things change all the time. Look at the Rams and
the Jaguars last year. They both improved by seven wins. Okay,
(01:42:41):
the Jacks were three and thirteen the year before. They
went to the a f C Title Game and had
a double digit lead over the Patriots. So it's like,
you forget these lessons that you learn every single year,
and it could be topsy turvy. From first to worst
or worst to first happens all the time time and
in a season thinking that is gonna repeat in ten.
(01:43:05):
But there's an addendum to that because when the change
does occur, like it's happening in Chicago right now, blush,
the Bears are on top of the division, the fans
are ready to buy Super Bowl tickets. You've got to
reel it in a little bit too. I mean, change
is good and a change happens, but just wait, give
it time, give change some time to to evolve. That's
what you gotta do. Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I think,
(01:43:26):
believe it or not, I think there are reasonable fans.
I know it sounds crazy, it sounds like an oxy moron, right,
but there are some fans that are like, good, start,
got to see more. It's just that you see these
pictures of people at the games and you get a
couple of calls and sports talk radio where you know,
(01:43:48):
Johnny driving home is like bears all the way. Do
you think that's the voice of the public. It's very
similar to Twitter comments. You know, you get a couple
of people that roast you on Twitter or more so,
like just idiotic comments. That's not your entire audience, so
you shouldn't apply it as such. I think it works
(01:44:09):
the same way with fans, and they're crazy expectations, so
I do. On Twitter, it's exactly right. Found Briano, Andy
Fernwell Live and the guy called Fox. What's radio studios?
By the way, does the shei Alex Marvez favored the
greatest show on turf or surf that's next. But first
of all, guy Mr surf and turf Ralph Harvin for
(01:44:30):
the latest sounds delicious at this early morning hour. But
meanwhile we will go back to UFC twoine y because
Kabib Normaga made off submitted Connor McGregor in the fourth round.
But that wasn't the story, wasn't. It was the melee
that occurred inside and outside the ring after the fight
(01:44:50):
that will have repercussions going forward. Three members of Cabib's
team were arrested, but later released when Connor declined to
press charges against them. Of course, more will be coming
up again in IT the next days and weeks. On
the Major League Baseball scoreboard. On Saturday, the Divisional playoffs,
the Yankees six two winners at Boston. That series tied
(01:45:12):
at one game apiece. Houston a three one win over Cleveland,
the Astros with a two nothing series lead. Their online

Number twenty two Florida takes out number five l s
U nineteen, Number six Notre Dame a big win at
number twenty four, Virginia teche number nine Team Texas a
forty five win over number seven Oklahoma. Mississippi eight took
out number eight Auburn twenty three to nine. Of course
(01:45:56):
those three upsets in the top ten, well that makes
room for Ryan's number twelve. You cf Golden Knights, who
are over little singers. Little singer that baby you see.
I set it up by giving the Irish score and
then I and then I had to give something a
little sound. You're right, but they'll be there. But back
(01:46:18):
to thank you. Have a great day, Ralph, and thank
you for everything you do for us, including the little
zingers you give to my partner. There we go by
the way. Alex Marvez coming right up. He's Briban noh.
Many firmatives is Fox Football, so they welcome everybody to
the Fox Boats radio studios. We are brought to you
by Geico. It's easier to save fifteen percent and more
on co insurance with Giko. Got a guy, go dot
(01:46:39):
com call eight hundred nine seven at all. The only
hard part figuring out which way is easier knows picks
in about ten minutes. But right now we're going to
the Fox Sports Celebrity Hotline, the chic himself, Alex Marvez
with No One firm and Hello chic, how are you
good at Florida Dators? How about them apples at home?
(01:47:00):
Plus in the swamp? What a wonderful, wonderful day. And
Dan Mullen making his imprint on this Gator program. Awfully
quick there we go a quick question on something to
you're an expert on? Which is the National Football League
greatest show on surf? The l A Rams better than
the St. Louis Ram's greatest show on turf? Not Chat,
(01:47:22):
not chet, Let's not guys, Yeah, let's remember that that
Rams team when we're talking about you know, Brandon Cooks
is a very good wide receiver, but as he reached
the status of an Isaac Bruce yet you know Torry Holt,
I mean, you know you think about him another guy
He's not gonna make the Hall of Fame Isaac probably
will Marshall fall Hall of Fame running back. Maybe Todd
Gurley can hit those heights and Kurt Warner. At the time,
(01:47:43):
you know, we didn't know what Kurt Warner was, but
that that group was so special. This group could very
well be there. And today, of course, you know, against Seattle,
this is the last stand really for the Seahawks, right
If the Rams aren't going to run away with this division,
they gotta win today up at Century Link and take
advantage of that home field. Last time these two teams played,
Seattle gave up forty two points. But as Bobby Wagner
(01:48:03):
pointed out, I wasn't on the field that day, the
middle linebacker. He doesn't make a huge difference for the
CEOs team. But look, I thought the girling this week,
and man, you talk about confidence, it is oozing from
this Rams team. He's saying that guys are giddy basically
when Sean McVeigh doesn't the game play each week, Like
what did this guy come up with this week? How
are we going to beat the opposition? I mean, and
he says they can't be stopped. You know, you want
(01:48:25):
to stop the running game, We're gonna pass it on you.
I mean, he's he's talking like this team has head
of the super Bowl. Hopefully that confidence doesn't lead to
arrogance and lack of preparation among him and his teammates
because the season is only a quarterway through. Huge game today,
Chiefs hosting the Jaguars. I think Patrick Mahomes is due
for his first interception of the season, although he's been tremendous.
(01:48:47):
Do you agree with that? And more importantly, how do
you see Patrick Mahomes faring today? Yeah? I think Patrick
Mahomes will be fine. I mean, you know, but what's
interesting is, Okay, the Broncos were able to give him
fits in the first half. Are they going to be
able to continue to? You know that there's some things
that the Jacks were able to pick up from watching
that video that that maybe some flaws in Patrick Mahomes game.
There are flaws in Patrick Mahomes game. Really, I just
(01:49:08):
want to make sure our listeners know this. Even though
you look at the sab line four teams touchdown, zero interceptions,
he and Drew Brees the only starters from week one
still in the starting lineup who have not thrown an
interception this season among the thirty two quarterbacks. So, I mean, look,
I think it's been it's been an amazing thing for
the Chiefs what he's been able to do, not making
the interceptions like he was doing in the preseason. Remember
(01:49:28):
that was the big story, the narrative. They were counting
his interceptions during the practices and everyone was thinking, Oh, well,
the Chiefs are gonna take a step back because there's
no Alex Smith. The defense is gonna have to step up.
Hasn't been the case so far for Jacksonville. Not having
Leonards for net hurts. But I think this is actually
I think the quarterback we might be talking about at
the end of the day, it's Blake Portals. Yes, Blakes.
I think Blake's gonna I think Blake's gonna have a
(01:49:49):
good day. I'm I'm sold on this Kansas City defense.
They did some nice things against the Broncos, but I
think the Jacks are a little bit better and pass rush,
and I think Blake Portles is a better quarterback in
case Keenum. So I think I think Jacksonville is gonna
be tough, but I think we're gonna be talking some
Black Portals after this one. Interesting. I'll tell you what
Alex Vezzi seems as Ezekiel Elliott goes so go to
Dallas Cowboys. They started one and two, and those games
(01:50:09):
Eliot had an average like sixteen carriages a game. The
Cowboys average thirteen points. Last week, they gave him the
bull twenty nine times, twenty five carries for receptions, he
had two from scrimmage and they beat the Lions. It's
not that hard, really, give Ezekiel Elliot at the football, right,
I mean, and that's what they have to do. They
got nothing else. What do they have out offense? They
got no receivers I mean tight ends what no one
(01:50:32):
is scaring you on that team? You've got You've got
two guys. You got Dak who's an okay quarterback. I mean,
you know, really, and at this point after that great
workie season, he's tapered off. And some of it is
the supporting cap. I mean I think a lot of
it is, to be quite honest with you. So it's
z clap right, zeke up the middle the Houston Texans.
Look what happened last week with the Colts. I get
the bravado of Frank Reich and we're gonna play to
(01:50:53):
win the game and all that sort of stuff, right,
but they could have buried the Houston Texans. Oh three
and one is just the same basic pleas oh and four.
That would have been it for the Texan season. We
could have really written them off in that division. Instead,
the colst go for it on fourth down, don't convert
Texan score in the final minutes and keep their season alive.
And I think they've got that momentum going with him
tonight into Houston playing at home Sunday night football, and
(01:51:15):
this is a rivalry game. I mean, there's a lot
about the state of Texas. And I say that not
because because they don't play once every four years, but
there's fans in Texas that can be swayed. If you're
a longtime Cowboys fan, all of a sudden that the
Houston Texans start winning and DeShawn Watson's playing exciting football,
you may be willing to switch allegiances. Are younger generations
of fans. It's not just the Cowboys anymore. It is
Dallas and the Houston Texans. So those markets like San Antonio,
(01:51:38):
et cetera. This is a big game because you really
have a big split among fans. Alex I got a
weird voicemail this week from Packers head coach Mike McCarthy
asking if I could play like wide receiver. I don't
know what that was all about, but they are a
mass unit over there. What's gonna be the outcome for
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers at the Lions today? And
(01:51:59):
how crazy? See is this? The Lions they could win
their third straight game against Green Bay for the first
time since the Eric Kramer era. If you remember that one.
That's long. That's how long it's been we're talking about.
I don't even I don't even think. I don't know
if Herman Moore was around. Maybe he was. I know
(01:52:20):
Verry Standards was around. I think Wayne Bons was around.
And that's about what we had back then. Yeah, I mean,
but you know, look for for green Bay that the
good part is this. They should be able to make
some hay in the running game today and and mitigate
the absence of some of the wide receivers. And it's
a mess. I mean, look, Randall Cobb, Davonte Adams, these
guys may not be able to go to Ronado. Allison
has banged up, and that's going to lead a whole
bunch of young targets. But let's not forget too. They
(01:52:41):
have Jimmy Graham. You could flag Jimmy Graham out as
a wide receiver if you're looking to mix some things up.
On the offensive side of the football. But but as
we saw last week and you eluded Cyzic Elliott and
his monster game against Detroit, this isn't a good Lions
team against the run. They have a tendency to really
get gashed. And the Packers I wouldn't be surprised if
he was here a run heavy attack today. Try not
put too much on young guys who quite honestly are
(01:53:02):
aren't really ready to contribute as much as the starters
on that Green Day offense. The big game pre dectory today.
I mean, look, is are they going to be able
to get some momentum going for them before this division
slips away? Their their two playoff chains to slipt away.
Going to one and four gonna put them in too
deep a hole in my opinion to dig out of.
Alex mor fess it is time right now to give
kudos to one and only Brian no because Brian No,
(01:53:24):
I believe, is the only media person on God's Green
Earth who said the Philadelphia Eagles will not make the
playoffs this year, and right now he's on point that
hosting the Vikings today there is a key game. What
do you think about the Eagles maybe not making the playoffs.
And what do they do today against the Vikings? Oh,
come on, come on, we're panicking on the Eagles already.
Everyone's been hurt. This was a team that was probably
(01:53:47):
gonna start slow and it was going to start to
pick up some momentum as the season goes on. And
that's how I look at it, you know, for this team,
because they've been so banged up. And again, listen, they're
hurting again today. You've got no Derek Bennett in the
in need line up and that's a big loss for
their past rush and Brandon Graham doesn't have a sack
this year. But I can't press the panic button. And
then first, who's really going to step up in this division?
(01:54:08):
I mean, yeah, the season ended today, Well, the Redskins
would be a game short, right There are two and one,
the Cowboys two and two have really flawed team, and
the Giants going nowhere fast right now with all of
their offensive and defensive problems and one in three. So
the Eagles, I mean, look, I'm not saying they're going
to be as good as they were last year, but
to write them off or to say they're not going
to make the playoffs I just think in this division,
unless the Redskins are able to really make a move,
(01:54:30):
I think everyone else is so flawed. It'll be Philadelphia.
Maybe it's a nine and seven Eagles team, maybe it's
atendant six Eagles team, but it is going to be
Philadelphia making the playoffs once again. Do you start to
I disagree with you, Alex, but I still love you.
Do you would it be two early? I hate this.
In say Week five, the loser of this Falcon Steelers game,
(01:54:51):
I hate to write them off. But if you're one
in four and the Falcons with that defense as banged
up as it is in the NFC South, I don't
see it happening. And if you look at the Steelers one,
three and one, if they lose in that division, you
could be looking up at the four and one Ravens
at the end of the day. Would you think about
writing off the loser of that ball game? You're getting
(01:55:13):
You're getting to that point, aren't you. And you know
for the Falcons, you know talking to some folks in
that organization this week, Brian, they were telling me, look,
we just gotta hold down the Ford until we're able
to get Dion Jones back and they feel really comfortable
that this defense is going to be able to rebound
and be good, I mean not just average, be good
when Deon Jones returns, because he's just that good a
linebacker and has such a huge presence. But with no
(01:55:35):
Grady jarreted this week again, another huge blow to this
Falcons defensive line. I mean, this this team in general.
The good news for them, Tach McKinley is playing well.
But you know, I don't know if you heard about
the construction at Hines Field Friday night. They were adding
a third digit on the scoreboard for each team because
of the points that are going to be scored in there.
And I think, and I think two of the Falcons
you don't have internal issues, right like you don't see
(01:55:55):
these things surfacing, whereas with the Steelers, I mean you
just every week there's some new drama and some new
issue that comes up with these guys, and the specter
of Lady On Bell hanging over the team. And I
think if any team loses, I think that the Stealers
would probably if they lose, I think that's where you
start to worry about, Okay, does do all these all
these early losses start to break this team apart, and
(01:56:15):
you just have personal issues to start to come to
the forefront. And that's you know, when Antonio Brown is
talking all this mean stuff this week rather than team,
it just shows you where is the focus, Guys. I'm
trying to win as a championship, right. I mean, that's
that's where it comes down from. We've had so much
new talk from the Steelers, you know, from guys like
Roethlisberger and his retirement and you know, throwing Mason Rudolph
under the bus earlier this year too, and Tokio Brown
(01:56:36):
wanting the football throwing temper tensions on the sideline to
Lady on Bell situation. I mean, I can go on
and on with this team and it doesn't reflect well
on n Comlin and and the Steelers too. They can't
stop anybody's the defense that's terrible. A lot of points
being scored today. He is the maven of football and
we're lucky to have every single Sunday. He's Alice Marvet.
He's the sheet Fox Sports Radios, NFL Inside, also on
(01:56:59):
Serious X on radio. You want football, He's the man.
I don't know how you put all that stuff in
that little cranium of yours, but you do and we
love having you really and have a great day. Enjoy
an the games today. We'll talk to you next Sunday.
He's the man Alex Marvez, Brian No, Andy Ferman of course,
live from the GACA, Fox Bolts Radio studios, and one
baseball fan just had his life saved. You won't believe this.
(01:57:23):
And it's next nose Picks coming right up, by the way,
if I love the minutes before the top of the hour,
He's Brian no On Andy Furman, and this is Fox
Football Sunday. I got some great news. I really do.
Number one, there's a quick way you could save money.
Switch the GEICOACA dot com and in fifteen minutes you
could say fifty percent or more on curR insurance. That's
number one. The next is the top of the hour.
That's nine o'clock Eastern. Dan Buyer and Mike Harmon. Yes,
(01:57:46):
that's the world's greatest fantasy football show. It's the best.
None better know it's first place and no second place.
Buyer and Harmon nine o'clock. Get him on I Heart Radio,
get him on the Serious XM Channel eighty three. And
of course many of these same Fox most weady affiliates.
So there's your deal by her harm on top of
the hour Fantasy football. All right, now it's my partner,
(01:58:07):
Brian No and those picks. Here's the deal. Are you
in desperate need of gambling insights? Do not fear for
Brian No is here and now the time is come
for picks. Alright, Andy Burman, successful week last Sunday, two
(01:58:33):
in one. We hit with the Bengals Falcons, over hit
with the Jags minus seven and a half at home
against the Jets. The only snaff who Eli manning against
the prevent defense. We needed one more score for the
over of that Saints Giants game, and Eli was like,
you know what, do I really want to score points
(01:58:55):
so no can win his bed? No, I don't. So
that didn't hit. But two and one, winning weekend, that's
what we're after here, Andy Ferman, So I had some
wins for you today. I'm gonna go with another seven
and a half point spread, this time on the road.
I'm getting crazy. I'm letting my hair down the Rams.
I don't want this to be an overreaction to what
(01:59:16):
we've seen last week and throughout the season because of
the Rams defense. I'm sorry, the Rams offense primarily, but
I just don't see how the Seahawks slow him down today.
I think that McVeigh schemes a lot of open receivers.
I think Jared Goff with his accuracy, he hits those guys.
And I just don't see how that offensive line of
the Seahawks has any success against that Rams defensive line.
(01:59:38):
I have no problem laying the points. I think the
Rams win this one by eight points, So give me
the Rams. I'm gonna look at the Lions. I'm high
on the Lions today. Lions one point favorites at home
against the Packers team that's a mash unit with their
wide receivers. I think it's gonna be very comparable to
(01:59:59):
the way the lion and beat the Patriots when it
was Cronk and they really honed in on Gronk. That
will be them honing in on Jimmy Graham today and
forced those young receivers to beat them. So I'm gonna
take the Lions in their trash rush defense to have
enough against the pack Give me them. And I really
thought long and hard about taking the under in this
(02:00:19):
same game because Packers probably gonna run the ball a lot.
The totals fifty one, but I'm going to leave that
on the table. I'm gonna look at the Falcon Steelers
game fifty eight, a ton of points, but I don't
think it's enough. I think it's gonna go over that.
I'm not gonna overthink this one. Banged up defense of
the Falcons, bad defense of the Steelers. So give me
(02:00:39):
the over fifty eight. There you go, Andy Firman, what
do you think about that? You know what? I like that?
Although I thought you would stay away from that Lions
game and maybe get the Redskins six with that stains
Redskins could hit. I could see that hitting as well. Absolutely,
maybe extra credit, you know, take whatever you went on Sunday,
the Redskins on Monday night. All right, Andy, that time
(02:01:00):
of the program, we gotta go rapid fire. You can
go your own way. Okay, We'll live from the guy
called Foxbust Radio Studios. And I got a real feel
good story, I really do. A Milwaukee Brewers fan uh
had his life saved and it's all because he put
his need for help on a T shirt he wore
to a game man. His name is Lenny's Wig leny
year old father of three became so desperate for a
(02:01:22):
kidney transplant he put it on a T shirt wore
to a Bruise game last spring. I guess what. Last Thursday,
someone found him, gave him a donor. Donor is anonymous
and on the transplant will be November, the two of
this year. Wonderful story, it really is. There's some good
people out there, there really are, and I love that story.
(02:01:42):
I like that. All right, Andy, I'm gonna go light
with you here so in Portland this week my weekday show.
On Wednesday, I will be doing a three point shooting contest.
I'm gonna take a hundred NBA three pointers from wherever
I see fit. How many do you think I hit
the twelve twelve? Andy, I'm gonna hit three times that
(02:02:07):
with ease. I can't wait. I can't wait. Send it
to me, h
