Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah yeah, we're.

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Breaking down the sports weekend May break and looking ahead
at your sports week. You're listening to Fox Sports Countdown
presented by MGM.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
The King of Sports Books.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
The Countdown starts now my fromti I RAG dot com,
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Here's Brian No, Jeff Schwartz and
Bill crack Krackenberger.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Oh what is going on? Everybody? Welcome in here. Happy
Sunday to you. Good morning to you guys. Crack Jack
then good in your world. My uh my young nephew.
Shout out to type ray. You got married yesterday.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh wow, I've got a.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Wedding here in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. It's not
even twenty one.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Geez, think about us, it's nineteen twenty six.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Such.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Right, it's an arranged marriage.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
You know my parents. That's how got married. My mom's twenty.
That's you look pretty. You look pretty spry for having
been in a wedding last night.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Thanks man, I'm ready to go over here.

Speaker 5 (01:10):
Did you sleep? I know you're not big of a
sleeper sometimes before the shows.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
I did. Yeah, I actually got it sleep. I got
a nap before I slept can you believe that I
was found out? Yeah, so I took like a I'm
big on power naps. I don't know if you guys
are big into power naps.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
What is a power twenty minutes? I'm down for twenty
minute nap. I'm good for twenty minute nap. I was
an indie on Thursday and Friday. Let me tell you, guys,
this my first time at the NFL Combine since I
was there two thousand and eight. And take the offensive
lineman run. So if you want to watch your athletes run,
you might want to turn on at one o'clock today.
There is a daily fantasy website basically where you can

(01:45):
wager wager quotes on forty times. Believe it or not,
I was doing some of that while I was in Adiapolis. Nonetheless,
you hear that's my first time being there is a
non player. Right in two thosand and eight, when they
talk about these deals getting done at the Combine, I
always was wondering, like it's a little overblown. There's no

(02:06):
way all these deals get done the combine. And then
you go to the combine and you see why the
deal get done the combine. It is just there's food
there's alcohol consumed, and everyone hangs out with everyone at
gms and reporters and coaches and for ant office people
and they just all mingle together. What was the dinner

(02:28):
the other night at Friday night and Mike Tomlan walks in,
Mike McDaniel walks in, the commander of staff, I think
was eating upstairs, and you just like there's just a
mingling of things happening, and then you just kind of
probably throw in like, hey, man, I got I got debo.
Do you want debo? Do you want? Do you want him?
That's the way it works, man, Like you just I
went to a buddy of mine, coach the offensive line

(02:50):
now for the Bears, and I went to an offensive
line coaches like they just all got together, had a
couple of beers showed up there. It just that's just
how this stuff gets done. And I never I never
believed it, guys. I didn't believe like all the hype
about why deals get done. And any of my agent
always told me like I'll talk to someone with the combine,
you know, of course off the record because's not allowed,
and I'll have an answer for you on on your

(03:12):
on your worth in your market and I see it now.
It's wild. It's because you would never, like a reporter
and a coach are not having drinks like in July together,
Like like if they flew to that city and they
just wanted to do a story on it, you wouldn't
go have a drink with them. But yet at the combine,

(03:33):
like everyone just mingling together. Like no, obviously everything's off
the record, so it's understood. I think that's off the record,
scept that there's a fight at Starbucks. But otherwise the
kid the owner of Starbucks, CEO of Starbucks son having
a fight fight quotes in Starbucks is pretty funny. But
I just when I say the combine is off its

(03:54):
line on today crack.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
So the most important is that the first time you
went in this situation yeah as a non player.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Yeah, and eight first time yeah, so I got to
experience the other, the other side of it. Yeah, and
it is. Yeah, it's exactly what they said it is.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Man, it reminds me of you remember this video. It
was from the Senior Bowl though I believe that's where
it was from, but it was the Panthers, remember Dan Morgan.
And it's just a very just general conversation yeah with
the Bills, Joe Shane with the Giants, and he's like, yeah,
how about Brian Burns for whatever he threw out there?

(04:33):
And that's how it began. It was just completely casual
and it turned into a trade. So I don't that's
how it is.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Like I would imagine Adam Peters, so the Commanders and
Niners had a trade yesterday, deebo see anyone for the
Niners to the commander for a fifth round pick. I
would have Shanahan and Peters are buddies because they worked
together for so many years. But I would imagine they're like,
hey man, I'll meet you somewhere for ten minutes, like
let's chat. Yeah, John Lynch and Shanahan maybe just sat

(05:01):
down ten minutes at the coffee shop and just like
hammered out of trade. Like that's how these deals. Guys.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
They were like, oh, look at that fight and then
they hammered out the trade.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Yeah, there's not a lot of back and forth. I
think people. If you these negotiations in the NFL, it's
just like months long and back and forth. No, hey man, deebos, deebos,
you available, We'll give you a sixth I'll call you
back now we're not doing that and then oh can

(05:31):
get fifth great, sign me up. We're in like it's
not this like drawn out months process. You could take
ten minutes and the trade is done. So that's what
the combine is. And it's fun.

Speaker 6 (05:43):
Man.

Speaker 5 (05:43):
I'll tell you what. I had a good, really good time.
I uh crack would love it.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Man.

Speaker 5 (05:47):
The food you just like go to steakhouses, you eat,
you eat good meals and and you have a couple
of I don't know, I don't drink, so it wasn't
my thing, but you know you do it that way
now now.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
So in other words, are are the players also out
drinking and eating there not?

Speaker 5 (06:03):
No, no, no, no, no no. The player this is.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Got any dirt you can give, no no.

Speaker 5 (06:11):
There was a player like out that night who had
a defensive back and already run during the day. So
it's the combin's a little different than when I went.
I mean, it's been a long time, but like these
players are so uh tuned in to what has to
be done and so dialed in with their body. I
was hanging out with my buddy who trains offensive lineman

(06:34):
Duke many whether he's he's the best offensive line guy
in the country and he's with Sports Academy and they
like they have a room in a hotel that's like
the lounge treatment room. There's hyperbaric chamber in there. There's
like there's all this stuff to like get the players ready.
They go through workouts during the day, like at the
combine to prep their bodies like neurologically, to get ready

(06:54):
to run. The nutrition is there. It's like hating them meedles,
Like here's your meal for today, it's all dial in perfectly.
Then afterwards you go have a steak if you want,
but I mean your weigh in like their way you
every day hydration like you're supposed to hit a certain
they know exactly what you should run. They know exactly
what you should weigh, but to the pound, to the second,
to the you know, to half second. Like it's so

(07:16):
it's so professionally done. And that's why you know you're
not gonna end up with you know, guys go and
have a steak the night before workout because it's just
they're just they're not going to do that afterwards. Free game.
Plus you know you used to we used to work
out in the morning, so today you would have started
by now eight a m. Eastern and you would be
done at noon to fly home now. Because they work

(07:37):
out at night, they wait one more night and they
get a chance to like go have a drink and
go celebrate after the combine.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Nice, very nice.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Our guy Chris has something for this.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
What do you have?

Speaker 7 (07:47):
I think we bulldozed over this a little too quickly.
Don't think I didn't notice a bill here talking about
trying to get some dirt, some edge on the NFL combine.
I'm just curious, now, what kind of bets you'd even
place on the combine?

Speaker 5 (07:59):
Well, okay, well over runders on times you could you could?
Well so again one of the daily fantasy websites, that's
not really wagering, it's you know, it's like more or
less than a number. Yeah, they posted I was, they posted,
I bet on two guys. I mean I put them
together and like you have to put them in like

(08:20):
a little package together. They had forty times posted for
every running back and wide receiver, and and the offensive
line looked this morning and now it might not be
offered in North Carolina, but yeah, and then I went
to a domestic sports book and looked it up and
they said only in certain states they have availability for props.
But you'd bet on forty times, right, that's what you
would wager on. Again, Like they're pretty dialed in the

(08:43):
trainers are and these facilities to what your time should be.
So if you have information on that, that's where it
would be. Now, of course, not always work, It doesn't
always work that way. But they know if a guy
is supposed to run a four, three, five, like in
the range of that, like they'll know, they'll they'll know
whether it's supposed to be over under.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Yeah, no doubt about it. All right. How about college
hoops here, because big day yesterday Tennessee with a buzzer
beater against Alabama another you know, more SEC. I know
it's SEC versus SEC. But at the top of the
food chain, Auburn continues to be just a wagon. They
dominate Kentucky, Florida, rolled Texas, A and m so a

(09:22):
couple of big wins at the top of the rankings
there highlighted by Tennessee. Like the first thing I think
of is, you know, sometimes you're looking for that suckout
over time over. You know, I didn't have a bet
on the game, but if you're betting the over and
you're like, oh man, it's gonna go to overtime. And
then there's a buzzer beater from like, I don't know,
thirty three feet away or something like that that takes

(09:45):
your kneecaps out right there. But very good win by
Tennessee getting one at home, and we'll see if Rick
Barnes can do anything come tournament time.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
That was all about blowing that game. This is exactly
why I despise betting on college basketball. Like I had
Alabama in a fade parlay and they're up three with
thirty seconds left, going to the foul line. Okay, they
make one, they missed the first one they make, they're four. Okay,

(10:14):
Tennessee drives to the lane and they foul. Why are
we fouling on a layup? And one boom made the basket.
Now the Alabama's up two. Tennessee misses the foul shot.
Guess what happens. They have a fouls on the box
outs because.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
They get beat.

Speaker 5 (10:30):
They get beat to the ball and they push the
Tennessee guy in the back. Then they the Tennessee guy
makes two foul shots. Now the game is tied. Crack
twenty five seconds left ish right, Alabama dribbles the ball down.
They get a jump ball because they because they really
turned the I thought they turn the ball over, but
jumpall three seconds left in the game, Albama has to

(10:52):
do basics. Inbound the ball, take a bad shot, go
to overtime. What happens five second violation. They don't get
the ball in they don't throw the ball in. Tennessee
gets the ball. Alabama doesn't even defend the guy with
the ball. He just goes up the court on no one,
no one near him, like Grant Nelson was ten feet
away and got a screen and no one close to him.

(11:13):
It takes just an open forty footer like most college kids.
I'll take it back, not most, I would say, Brian,
if you give a college kid an uncontested forty footer,
I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
For any decent shooter to be high y I would
expect that.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
Yeah, like uncontested forty footer, like no one near him,
not at all. Just was able to dribble up to
get to get to a spot, jump unimpeded, like no
one around him. So it's that to me is yeah,
they made the shot to Tennessee, but Bama all these games.
It comes down to these teams just not executing. Jean
matters the most.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
I hate to say. Jeff is spot on. He is
spot on. I have to say yesterday was one of
the most brutal days in my betting career. Took him
thirty days betting career. I lost four games by a hook.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Four the one the worst one was the double overtime
under Oh my god, that that cracking Dayton under.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
One thirty seven. It's forty eight forty eight at the
end of regulation, I mean.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Two overtimes and.

Speaker 4 (12:16):
Wow over time, Oh my god, two overtimes later and
it was seventy four to sixty four. Yeah, it means
that's unbelievable. I had to lose it by a point.
I mean, come here, my worst beating the season. I
also lost an NBA prop that had a stat correction
after the game took one of my rebounds away, which
caused me to lose by the hook. I gotta be blunt.

(12:37):
I thought I won. You know, it's it's sometimes it's
amazing how you go by different scores. Sometimes ESPN, sometimes
you can go to CBS or Fox, like, ah god,
I just I use it. Listen, I don't complain. I've
had my share of.

Speaker 5 (12:54):
A crack. Is what we do, right? We put you
didn't half on this thing? Right?

Speaker 4 (12:59):
Change right around? Yeah? Start doubling up?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Which was it? The can Murray rebound one from six
to five? That's what happened.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
I think I changed from six to five. Yeah, but
they actually put it up and oh god.

Speaker 5 (13:10):
I didn't see that, so he is it five? Wow?

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Oh Jesus. Some of the things. But some great games
in the SSC, like the SEC, Like, like Brian said,
Tennessee Auburn, Florida all win and all three could possibly
be number one seeds in this year's tournament. Duke and
Houston round out the top five in my eyes also
and have a shot for number one seeds when the
brackets come out in two weeks. But the thing that

(13:35):
most caught my eye is that we might get thirteen,
that's right, thirteen SEC teams in the Big Dance this year.
That's how dominant the SEC is this year, you know,
looking more and more like the ACC, which only gets
three teams in with Duke and Clemson and Louis Villa.
So it's going to be interesting. I'm actually going to

(13:56):
be away for a little bit. Guys. I'll next weekend
I'll be broadcasting from Florida.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
But then I get right back here, of course for
the Sunday selection. And but I'm just going for a
couple of days and hang out with my brother and yeah,
so it's it's it's uh. It really was one of
those days yesterday where I look at the If I
look at my personal swing on how much money it was,
it's stupid. So I can imagine even everybody looking at

(14:23):
these things, and.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
The stat correction is the worst. The stat correction was terribley.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I gotta tell you the forty eight forty eight bothered
me to lose that under one thirty seven. At forty
eight forty eight.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Even one over time, you're still easily winning.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
And I never completed. Guys. You ever see me come
here complaining about games? Very rare do I complain about games,
But that one really bothered me.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
So that was the sec thing as well to me,
like I would rather have, Like I was looking to say,
if thirteen teams are in, yeah, that means that access
at five and eleven in the conference isn't isn't the
dance I'd rather have one more mid major, I would
I putting them in is is not They're not winning

(15:11):
a championship, Like give me. I don't even know who
the answer would be as a mid major right now because.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
In sneak in that was a big loss for them.
But I hear you, I get you.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
And Mary's is in most likely you know VCU.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
It's tough. It's who you played and who you beat,
you know, like if you're playing the SEC, the premier conference.
I get one argument is you gotta win some games.
But the other argument is who what mid major is
playing this schedule? Who who's playing anything even remotely close
to what we have to face. That's Texas argument.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
Yeah, I mean, which I understand, but I mean I
don't know. I I waiver here because I say for
college football that the tournament should only be about basically,
you know, winning a championship, right and then he or
on the other side, I'm like, you know what, uh,
you know, I don't know, it really matters. I just
want to get some fun teams in. I mean I'm
looking at like right now at the net rankings, so yeah,

(16:11):
I mean there's not a lot of really I mean,
see I mean, I guess, like the world, if they
win their tournament, they're in. I mean, like if San
Diego doesn't win their tournament, they're thirty fifth right now
in the net rankings. If they don't win the Big West,
I mean that messes with one SEC team probably, right.
There's not a lot of mid majors that you're like,
they got to be in, right, even if they don't

(16:31):
win their if they don't win their conference, maybe San
Francisco and the West Coast Conference, but you gain three
West Coast Conference teams in.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I just hate I hate expansion, man. I don't want
to see them. They're going to but I don't want
to see them expand it. It's more for the big dogs.
It's what you're talking about, Jeff. It's what's the opposite.
It's expanded, so you definitely get Texas in there, you know,
like the bigger brands, schools, bigger conferences. It's like, that's
part of what makes the tournament so great is these
Cinderellas and these like these no name colleges. It's awesome.

(17:01):
I don't know why they were.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Yeah, yeah this is this is not updated yet, but
I mean the quad thing is like.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Very is very yeah, right, as.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Someone whose team is now in a different conference, Organs
in the Big Ten. Now, we always thought there was
like this conference bias thing, right, Like we sort of
thought that, and then you see this is in the numbers,
Like Organs quad one wins this year are wild because
these teams that I don't think are terribly good are
quad one wins. Yeah, and and like that's not gonna
happen the pact of conference. Like beating Iowa is a

(17:34):
quad one basketball team.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
Yeah, well, I.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Think it's because you played on the road and they're
in the top seventy five. I was looking up the
how the quad wins were, right, but come on, you
should be Iowa. They're not. You're a tournament team. How's
that a quad one wins? Be that a non tournament team?
On the Iowa is one in twelve in the one
this seasons? Why does that count as a quad one
win for organ? How's that? How is that?

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Did you get the boxes? They meet the criteria?

Speaker 5 (18:02):
This is not gonna happen. See, this is if you
are in if you are in the Pac twelve, that's
not even quantum. That's not quantu one win. If you
take the same team relative in the PAC twelve. So
that's why conferences matter, man, And this is why conference
bias is a real thing.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
All Right, we're often running. We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional
sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran, I'm Brian No.

Samuel wide receiver used to play for the Niners. Now
he's with the Washington Commanders. Commanders give up a fifth
round pick and they have Deebo Samuel to be matched
up with quarterback Jaden Daniels. How good is this for Washington?

(19:55):
How much does this set the Niners back? I guess
the question for Bowl is which debo are you getting?
Are you getting first team All Pro debo from twenty
twenty one or are you getting debo from last season?
Who had the drop season? When got hurt? He wasn't
even the number one option like Juwan Jennings was the
guy and George Kittle and Deebo really didn't do anything

(20:17):
last season. Of notes so I mean, I I'm optimistic
he can be good with Jayden Daniels, But the first
question is which version are you getting because last season's
version left a lot to be desired.

Speaker 5 (20:32):
I agree. One thing that I like about some of
these trade and the way we talk about them is
people really overvalue what they think a player will get
as trade compensation. A fifth round pick feels about right.
Who like a fifth round pick? Oh my god, this

(20:53):
should have been a second, Like, what what if you
watched have you watched Debo play the last when Brenda
you got hurt? He just be number one wide receiver
for Ninners. He speaking like seventeen million dollars a year
and all he did was drop passes and not contributing
a way they wanted him to. And you know, the
slash thing is fun, but I don't necessarily like it.

(21:19):
I think i'd rather you'd be really good wide receiver
or be really good running back. Being in the middle
doesn't really get your team much better by it. But yeah,
I mean, when McCaffrey's hurt, is great to put Deebo
back there, sure, but when you watch him as a
running back, he's not great. Like he's a great running back.
I would argue that a third or fourth official running
back probably does a better job than Debo. So look,
Washington needs more weapons. Absolutely, Devin cap space. While you

(21:42):
have cap space, that's what you can do with a
young quarterback like Jay and Daniels. I mean, it's a
win for both. It gives extra draft picks, then you
get younger. He gives the Commanders a guy who's played
a lot of football who Kingsbury can probably use in
their offense and the slot find different ways for him.
But he's not worth the money they pay him, I
don't think, and probably not worth much more than a

(22:03):
fifth round pick, which is what I thought. Thought you'd
get a fifth or sixth round pick. So it makes sense.
It obviously doesn't change anything. I love ways going a
tweet from like one of the you know the people
that work for sports books, like after a big trade,
they're like the Commanders to win the championship was plus
twenty five hundred after it's still plus twenty five hundred. Yeah,
it doesn't. Debo's not making your breaking the season crack.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
I think MGM did move it a little bit. They
might you know people people in volume you know, but
their twenties and fifties, and they don't want to tie
money up for a year. And but but you know
it does in volume sometimes. Like I said, it's down
to eighteen to one at BETAMGM.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Least me up the numbers. I don't know if that
if that was actually yeah, no, I.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
Took a peek at this last week, so I think
they were a little bit high, like twenty two to
one or something. Listen. And it's so easy to say
this is a great deal for the Commanders. Well, I
got to tell you something. I think it probably is
Debos should fit in really well with this offense, and
Daniels and people could do so many things. And they
can even mix him into the running game, which is
already really dangerous with Daniel's legs and a big play potential.

(23:05):
It gives Washington another big play target to join McLaurin.
If Daniels can keep improving his great rookie season, this
team is a legitimate probably a legitimate shot to maybe
take some of those uh those long odds.

Speaker 5 (23:17):
Now.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
I'll ask you, though, Jeff, so sometimes would this spark
somebody's career after you know, what's what's been happening with Deebo,
would this like give him a jolt like of to
be with Daniels and the team.

Speaker 5 (23:34):
Kenny katch the football though, it's gonna like that's the problem.
He's gonna do his job. I mean, sure he'll be
rejuvenated because he'll be in Washington. He feels like, you know,
they they love him and they use him in a
certain way. But you know, you you do have a
good point here, Crack. I'm actually kind of curious to
see how they use him in the run game with
Jayden Daniels. There are options there, some wildcats wildcats, he's

(23:55):
a quarterback, but some of that, you know, those those
option ish plays with him and jay Daniel's in the backfield.
So yeah, will he be rejuvenated, Sure, I could see that,
But again, how long will that last if you can't
catch the football?

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (24:10):
Yeah, yeah. And the forty nine ers too, as far
as they go, boy, they have a lot of questions
to answered. A lot of their fans were going crazy
on social media. It's easy to do, right, but you know,
all signs really point to a huge contract extension here
for Purdy and the relationship might not have been been

(24:31):
that great with Deebo, so as we know, so forty
nine ers seem to be at a crush.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
So it happens you have to pay your quarterback a
money that you really he's not probably worth fifty million
dollars on your cap and obviously the cap number will
be different as they will adjust that. But that's this
is what happened. You start making sacrifice. You have to
get younger. This is why I think it's important for them.
Even if the fifth round draft picked fifth round wide receivers, man,
you can find them all over, all over the all

(24:56):
over the draft. There's not it's alone's position. You have
to get a first round or second round receiver. So
though I would imagine I would use that, you know that,
that draft pick to just get better at that position.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah, when they signed Ayuk to that extension, it was
it was obvious there was one more year with Debo
in San Francisco. Yeah, they just can't pay everybody. And Debo,
who I like a lot he like. I call him
a bowling ball with agility. You know, he is straight downhill,
he's so physical. I love him as far as that goes,

(25:27):
But his game just doesn't translate to old He's not
going to be a good older player. He's just so
physical and his game relies on that so much. So
that was the last year he was going to be
in San Francisco. Here's the last question I have. Who
do you have winning more games this next season? Is
it the Commanders or is it the Niners? Because the
Niners were completely banged up? Like do they have better

(25:49):
injury luck? Who would just say today has more wins?

Speaker 5 (25:53):
Uh? Probably the Commanders, right, I mean they quarterbacks.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
I would think they would they would be lying at
more wins.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Yes, they have an opportunity to just just remember too,
because of their cap situation, we're gonna see probably, I
mean they're gonna add to their roster, like we're gonna
have a different roster than we have today via free agency,
so that that would change obviously. How how I think
what you would do here with that question?

Speaker 2 (26:23):
How many people had this last season? The Commanders won
twice as many games as the Niners. The Commanders had
twelve wins, the Niners like six wins. Who had that
heading into the season.

Speaker 5 (26:35):
I think that's worth pointing out. Like the Commanders were
not fluky, they were they won fourteen games. The the
right the two playoff games like they're not. It's not
a fluke that they were where they're at. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
No, they had an exceptional season. Jayden Daniels, what a
rookie season, man, would be really interesting to see what
he does.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
Like c J.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Stroud had a great rookie season and came back to
Earth this past year, So I want to see if
there's any type of regression. It's hard to see that
Jaden was that special this past season. I'll put it
this way. I don't see him coming back to Earth
quite as much as c J. Stroud did. I'd be
very he took a step back like that.

Speaker 5 (27:12):
Also, you know he has a better team around him
on the offensive line. I think, you know, it's just
Kingsbury for as much groove as the game when he
actually affected really well last season. I think there's more
of a chance that they just are what they are
and they get better. I mean, the Texans fire the
offense court, I'm not sure. I'm not saying Bobby Silk

(27:34):
should have been fired, but I mean I don't think
a see situation where where Kingsbury getting fired after the.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Season, You know what I mean, right right? Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (27:41):
I think he's I think he's I mean, I think
I think it's I think he becomes a head coach,
you know, only becomes a fire offense coordinator.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Well, I'll tell you this, I guarantee this guy won't
be fired next year or after this update, right the Isaac.

Speaker 8 (27:57):
Haven't you ever heard of the broadcasters?

Speaker 4 (27:59):
Jakes oh Man?

Speaker 8 (28:08):
Well, yeah, you know what I don't believe in, now
that you mentioned it, I don't believe in stuff like
the broadcaster Jinx. I mean thinking that somebody's gonna be
uh oh, you overpowered Hinxes. I just got a text message,
oh boy, oh no, report to HR immediately.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
A wow.

Speaker 8 (28:26):
I'm impressed at our HR is open on a Sunday morning.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
Anyway, bring your playbook.

Speaker 8 (28:30):
Yeah, well, speaking of bringing playbooks, Deebo Samuel metaphorically bringing
his playbook to the Washington Commanders. Because that's our top stories.
You guys mentioned the San Francisco forty nine ers agreeing
to trade the receiver to the Washington Commanders for a
fifth round draft pick. Meanwhile, ESPN reporting Saturday, major League
Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred is considering a request to remove

(28:53):
Pete Rose from Baseball's ineligible list. Rose passed away last
September at the age of eighty three. For reinstatement was
made by Roses family. In the NBA, on Saturday night,
the Philadelphia seventy six Ers broke a nine game losing
streak with a one twenty six to one to nineteen
win over the Golden State Warriors. Philadelphia's Quinton Grimes came

(29:14):
through with a career high forty four points. Giannis Antetokumpo
twenty nine points, nine rebounds, nine assists in Milwaukee's one
thirty two to one seventeen win at Dallas, and the
San Antonio Spurs victorious at Memphis one thirty to one
twenty eight. San Antonio's Diaron Fox the game winning twenty
foot step back jumper with two point one to play.
Memphis Jaron Jackson Junior scored forty two in a losing cause.

(29:37):
Fellas has been nice knowing you, Thank.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
You, I love good working with you all these years.

Speaker 5 (29:43):
Man.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
It is Fox Sports Radio's Cuntdown, presented by BETMGM. Every
Sunday through the rest of the NBA regular season. BETMGM
will be running the NBA Sunday Splash Jackpot. Users will
have the opportunity to win a share of fifty thousand
dollars in bonus bets if their players score the most
three pointers on that Sunday. All you have to do
is opt into the Sunday Splash Jackpot promotion and places

(30:07):
a ten dollars plus NBA player three pointers bet up
to one time each Sunday. If your player scores the
most three pointers on that Sunday, you'll win a share
of fifty thousand dollars in bonus bets. You know it's funny.
I was talking trash about the uh Sixers Warriors game
last night, where I'm like, who watch that? Joel mb

(30:29):
just went on the shelf with that knee injury. Turned
out to be a great game. It was a nail
bier At the end, Philly finally won a game. They
snapped a nine game losing streak. It was their first
win since February fourth, the last time Philly had won.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
It feels not great, an expert here, doesn't feel great, stellar, No,
I uh, I should have put more money in that bet, Brian.
I think we all, we all should have put more
money in the Sixers under you, you nail that one
because they are a reckon. They're exactly what you said
they would be. They would put embiid shut them down,

(31:06):
and Paul George might be next and they end up
with potentially what a lottery pick.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, it's tank mode now there's no sense in winning.
And Paul George went on his podcast and said, you
know what podcast is on hold? Got to concentrate on
the season and focus on the season.

Speaker 5 (31:25):
I was curious if there's like a like a a
correlation between like the amount of podcast episodes you do
and your success on the on the quarterfield. I feel
like we're seeing a lot of athletes, uh with with
podcasts have some some lack of success on the on
the quarterfield.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
No crazy for that thought, No, definitely, yeah, I agree.
You know it's funny, guys, I was at the dinner
last three nights. That's no big surprise. I mean, I'm
that's a dinner every night. But however, last three or
four nights, just with a couple acquaintances, a friend, another front.

(32:00):
They all know what I do for a living. And
these guys, you know, I hope none of thems listening
actually because they all have egos and betting egos, and
that's I get it. I get it. It's not a
big deal. But they try to give me their games
so they know. They all and by the way, yeah
throwund you know, it's amazing. All three of them do

(32:20):
not know each other. So this is not like they
hang around the same group or anything. But I just
find it amazing that guys that work. Listen, I'm not
trying to make fun of them. They work hard, you know,
ten hour days and stuff, but they're same crack. You
got to get on this. You got to get on
like this anti sixers was one of them. You got
to get on this anti sixer. You gotta bet these streaks.

(32:43):
And I try. I don't even tell them no more.
I say, really, great man, I'm rooting for you, definitely.
They don't even get that when I say that, by
the way, but you know, and I am rooting for
them because I didn't have a bet on the side
and NBA sides are impossible. But I have to tell you,
I've already I'm sick of tired of telling people like, oh,
it's there, the lines baked in. You don't think that

(33:05):
the book maker they know which way the public is going.
They know that they're going to need the sixers at
the end of the day, so you're going to pay
tax on that. You're going to pay with an extra
half a point or a point. But I just just
something that literally happened last night. Uh, and I just uh,
it never ends. It's just it's amazing. But anyway, let's

(33:26):
go on to Philly fans. You guys, you gotta be
pretty you know, it's still celebrating the Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
So yeah, the.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Crack.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
It's kind of like a stand up comedian and everybody's like,
I got a joke for you. You know, that's that's it.

Speaker 4 (33:42):
Yeah, just like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no. But this
Philly team might be in a worse position than than
maybe any NBA team. I mean, like you said, Embi
was a shutdown for the rest of the season. We
really don't know if he will ever play again, especially
at that level he was before he got hurt last season.
He was literally the most dominant player before going down

(34:04):
in January of last year. Was hoping to be back
to one hundred percent this season. Just never looked never
looked right out there. And uh, you know, I got
to tell you, how about the money. This guy's are
like two hundred and forty eight million on the next
four seasons fifty five to fifty nine, sixty four, and
sixty nine million, all of which is guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Wow Wow's rights until he's playing at that level, until
the production matches that pay, they are screwed. There's there's
nothing you're gonna do to get a get from from
underneath that.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
No one's training from either because it was injury history.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Yeah, so Philly is just crossing their fingers, like, come on,
knee doctors, like we got to get this guy going
or weird.

Speaker 5 (34:49):
Yeah, it feels like though when you get to this age,
like and you're this big and you have these recurrent injuries,
it doesn't just go away, you know, it just have
to become healthy all the sume Like I think there's
if you're a six seers is a legit concern that
this is basically the rest of his career. You're just
dealing with preventing injuries and hopefully managing you know, rehab time.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Yeah, that's pretty much where they're at right now. All right,
we've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. You know, don't
don't give him your winning wagers, you know, he's got
his own right, don't give him any tips. Over there,
we got Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian
now coming up next to parlay pladder. We'll each have
one selection for you. We pull it together for a

(35:33):
greater payout. That is on the way. It's Fox Sports
Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search FSR to
listen live.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. On
Friday's BETMGM, authorized gaming operator of the NBA, is making
first field goal scorer wagers more exciting with second Chance.
What second chance ever? Bet on your favorite player to
score the first field goal only to see him make
an assist to his teammate for an easy layup. Well,

(36:13):
with bet MGM Second Chance, you'll get your stake back
in cash if your first field goal scorer score second
instead of first. All right, let's do this.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Check this out our late letter.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Alright, we just have one pick for you. We booll
it together for a greater payout. Crack first leg of
the parlay. Where are you going?

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Let's go Mobley on the Cavs over eighteen and a
half points MGM over eighteen and a half minus twenty.
Maybe we could throw us in the parlay though tops listen,
top scorer Mitchell is out for Cavs today, Mobile will
like it likely have to step up though for scoring.
So it's literally the totals like two thirty five. So

(36:56):
I just need to avoid a big blowout and get
Mobley thirty minutes and we should win that.

Speaker 5 (37:01):
Okay. I was going to go back to the well
with the Tatum overleap after assists between very profitable since
the All Star break, but it's fifteen and a half,
which is a lot higher than usual. I think people
are realizing that that's a depending good wager and they're
playing to the devastating important game, and that typically is
a spot where Tatum does do that. You know, I

(37:22):
appreciate if he didn't talk trash of the first quarter
and lose, but I mean that is what it is
more funny obviously after basically you know, maybe being called
out for notting to face of the league. Nonetheless, how
about this, Brian, just just to make you upset and
have to watch this game. Lakers first quarter money line
plus one fifteen. Okay, won five games in a row. Yeah,

(37:43):
this has hit four of those five games. Did not
hit against the Clippers the other night. So they're running.
They're running it back at Los Angeles. Back to back
home games for Lakers, two in the Staples Center against
the Clippers. No, Austin Reeves. Probably day to day. I
like Lakers come out much faster to night. They did
again the Clippers two nights ago. Well, so, Lakers plus
one fifteen first quarter.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Moneyline rip Staples Center though.

Speaker 5 (38:07):
Right, sorry, plus one oh five. It's plus one oh five.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
I'm okay, you'll still call it that.

Speaker 5 (38:14):
When a when you have grown up calling a stadium
one thing for twenty years and then it's like to
lose their sponsors.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
That's not my problem.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
It's still Heinz Field.

Speaker 5 (38:24):
It's still Heinz Field. Yeah, it's still it's still at
and T Park.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
It's still the Carrier Dome.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Yeah, it just never changes. So what is the carry
Dome now? It's not the.

Speaker 2 (38:33):
Carrier Like I forget that. It's like JM A something whatever.

Speaker 5 (38:37):
No, yeah, we're not playing that game. And it's Crypto
dot Com is not even a thing anymore, is it?
Like they did they have a huge scandal and like
they don't there. So give me Staple Center all day, Lakers.
It's plus one oh five, I should say plus one.
That was full game was their underdog tonight, which is
kind of interesting maybe because of Reeves. Right, there's no
way under because it Austin Reeves isn't playing.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Well. I mean, that's gonna factor into it. But it's
just hard running it back to beat the same team
twice in a row, you know. So that's not for
the Western Confience champion.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
It's not. So every time the Lakers win a game
against a good team, they play good defense. I think
to myself, Brian's in for it, man.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
You know, more on that at the top of the hour.
As you are poisoning the youth of America, Jeff, we'll
have some details on that. I'm gonna go for the
final leg of the Barlay Ladder. Give me the Timberwolves
on the road. They've dropped a couple of games, had
a tough loss against Utah. Of course they I had
them plus six and a half against these phony Lakers

(39:40):
the other night and Anthony Edwards got tossed that. That's
not good for the wager right there. But I've got
the t Wolves rebounding. The Suns have just been up
and down. I think the Timberwolves I have a hard
time seeing them drop another game in a row. So
I'm gonna take them plus two and a half. I'll
take the points, play them on the road against the
Suns here today. I like that one.

Speaker 5 (40:02):
Did he serve a suspension yet?

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Yeah, yeah he did. It was the last game against
the Jazz, so yeah, he got tossed. Against the Lakers. Oh,
that was a brutal bee. That was the last, of course,
the last leg of the round robin, you know, and
so for a little bit of money, you get a
big payout and they lose by nine instead of six.
Luca hit an impossible three down the stretch of that game.

(40:26):
It was a beautiful shot by him. But that's Hey,
we'll get into the Lakers coming up here. When Luca
finds his shooting stroke, and he will, it's obviously gonna
make them a lot more dangerous. So he's starting to
round into form. That's on the way. Is Jeff correct
about this Lake show?

Speaker 4 (40:46):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Welcome in happy Sunday to you. Hope your day is
off to a fantastic start. Okay. So as Jeff Schwartz
poisoning the youth of America over here. Literally, this is true,
full conversation our guy, Patty Sweek, awesome dude, our trusted
producer on Sundays here yo, And he's like, you know what,

(41:11):
what did you say? You're doubling down maybe on the
Lakers down I'm doubling down on the Lakers, and I'm
doubling down on subscribing to the Schwartz syndicate. Let's go, man,
You hear that. You hear that, Jeff? What you're doing here?

Speaker 4 (41:25):
Well? I mean, well, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (41:27):
I know.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
That's the dumbest that I ever heard of.

Speaker 5 (41:30):
There's a team that is, you know, that's really good
in the NBA. They have maybe the two best offensive
players at times, and they combined together and their defense
is ring thirteenth in the NBA right now. So I
just feel like that it's a pretty good team you
should wager on to win a championship. I don't know,

(41:50):
maybe call me bias. I don't know, what do you
want from me?

Speaker 2 (41:53):
What's that front court? Looking over there. You know, how
are the bigs looking on that squad?

Speaker 5 (41:57):
Who cares? They have made it work without those guys.
They have scrappy Rudy Hamura playing defense.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Okay, you're a big guy. You're big guy yourself saying
who cares about big guys?

Speaker 5 (42:11):
That just does Scrappy Lebron. They have Scrappy Lebron who's
played defense really well last too much of this season
filling in on defense. You know they're gonna unders Look
if the Lakers can win a championship in nineteen eighty
with Magic playing center, okay in one specific game, they
can do it for an entire postseason. Okay, that's what
they're doing. That's what they're trying to pull off. Now. Look,
obviously the seven game series is gonna matter. They get

(42:34):
enough stops and Luca to your point, gets, you know,
continues to sort of get better offensively, they have a chance.
I just I subscribe to the theory a lot of
times that experience and NBA postseason matters a lot, and
these big moments of Lakers are going to have that experience,
and that to me is something that I think is
valuable here and it will matter, especially you mentioned earlier.

(42:57):
Now they're out. They're the three seed now, so they
move out of that playing the Rockets in the first round.
But like that, I would love the Lakers of that
series obviously. I think that would be a not to
be favorable for them. Right now, they be playing the
I guess they have to do the whole play and stuff. Jeez,
I hate that so much. But it looks like they'd
be playing the Clippers at the moment right The Clippers

(43:20):
are in, you know, they could be a playing team
as well, depending on where this this shakes out. So
a couple of the Warriors in a round one too,
looks like Kings, Timberwolves, MAVs. I mean, all these teams
are right there right a game of each other to
be six to ten.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Yeah yeah, and the Lakers just themselves where the Grizzlies
are right there, you know, the Rockets are right there.
So those those three teams could kind of like go
up and down in terms of the standing. It'll be
interesting to see who plays who. What do you think,
crack can the Lake Show win it all? That's what
the Short syndicate is saying right now.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
And the crack Man Syndicate here, you could see I'm
touching my screen. I'm sorry. I'll get back to the
Lakers in one second. These extra board Atlantic Sun Conference
first round, these first round games tend to go under.
I actually bet both under, but I'm actually betting more
now on Austin P. North Florida under MGM. Hate to

(44:19):
say they're a little bit slow to move here, but
MGM that they had a one sixties down the one
to fifty seven in some space, they still have one
fifty eight and a half. I'm this is like a
middle of the game thunder and lightning strikes the crack
man here under Austin P, North Florida. And I did
bet the stetson games there there, it is there, it

(44:41):
is there, it is.

Speaker 5 (44:42):
So you would still have one fifty eight and a half.

Speaker 4 (44:44):
You know why we put this number at one fifty
and a half. So this is this particular one. I
bet a little bit more than the other one on
this one. So in a first round Atlantic Sun tournament,
teams usually play them a little more defense in these games,
so and they value the possessions more too. So North
Florida likely to run. But Austin P here they will

(45:08):
try to make this a half court game. So yeah,
I'm sorry to interrupt the I know the lake be
sorry at all.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Like that's when it.

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Comes to these extra conference you see, extra games is
my life to the.

Speaker 5 (45:22):
First day, by the way of the tournament, which people
do the a Soun's playing the first day of their
tournament on Sunday, right, and I got.

Speaker 4 (45:28):
To be blunting. You know, people say things to me.
When I did the Showtime show I did a fourth
part docu series years ago on Action, people said to me,
what do you mean you don't know who's on Austin
p and Stetson and North Not only that, I don't
even know what state they're in, how about that I
don't care. I don't need to know. I don't need

(45:48):
to know where.

Speaker 2 (45:50):
Yeah, yeah, I don't probably know where Florida. You'd probably get.

Speaker 4 (45:52):
Where Stetson is playing, or Florida.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
I think it's also Florida right sets.

Speaker 2 (45:57):
In I don't know.

Speaker 4 (45:59):
I don't know either, but I don't need to know.
I just need to know.

Speaker 5 (46:03):
I know is they have a randomly good beach volleyball program.
And the reason I know that is because when I
cover the PAC twelve conference, you say, in USC had
beach volleyball programs that were really good. USC has won
like four women's championships in a row, and they would
play Stetson. And so I'm fairly certain is like that.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
I'm looking to bet that beach volleyball. So I mean,
I'm sick.

Speaker 5 (46:27):
In a row.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
It's nice, Brian, what do you got?

Speaker 2 (46:30):
It's uh so Stetson University is roughly halfway between Orlando
and Daytona Beach, Florida.

Speaker 4 (46:36):
Yeah, okay, And again for people at home listening to
people in your car, we don't have to know. I don't.
I just know one thing. I make a healthy six
figures a year betting college sports like this, So yeah,
just not bragging about it, just saying that this is
the reason why though, It's because I have so much
more insight on these smaller schools. I mean, who do

(46:59):
I want to bet? Do I want to bet Duker?
You know even I'll even use today's games.

Speaker 5 (47:04):
Yes, to be but thirty again.

Speaker 4 (47:09):
But but I you know who do I want to
bet that? Michigan State, Wisconsin? Let's use order. I want
to bet North Florida, Austin p or Stet's in Central
Arkansas with less eyeballs on it and less media coverage. Absolutely,
that's what I want to bet the extra board games,
especially these first uh yeah, you know, it's funny. I'm
watching the screen, guys have a live screen and watching

(47:29):
now the game go down a little bit more and
more so. But yeah, these first rounds, I like betting under. Anyway,
there's a little uh, mid mid show thing here. I
like betting under in these conferences when they It will
be a little bit tight at first though, But I'll
go back to, of course, the topic here of the Lakers,
and I know everyone likes to talk Laker basketball, and

(47:53):
I get it. Luca really has gelled. Let's call it
with Lebron. Yeah, and this Lakers team really quick one.
I gotta tell you, I didn't think that was gonna maybe.
I just thought some egos would get in the way.
And you know, let me ask you something, Jeff being
a Laker guy and Brian too, So does Lebron have

(48:13):
a big say and yes, we want Luca and.

Speaker 5 (48:16):
This one and this situation seems like the answer was no, Okay,
they did this. So this is the first move they've made.
It seems like since Lebron got there, that did not
include now. I I do not believe that they did
not give Lebron a heads up at all this was happening, Like,
I don't believe they were just he just got to
alert on social media, like I think they probably told him,
but I don't think they were like what do you think? Yeah,

(48:39):
like are you gonna play with Luca? I think they
were like, hey, we're gonna trade ad for Luca and
you know Luca Lebron seems like I think, right am
I right, Brian, that like Lebron is his idol, is
Luca's idol, Like that's the guy who's always wanted to
play with looks it's what Lebron is doing now is remarkable.
I know Brian is an anti Lebron guy and thinks.

Speaker 2 (48:58):
I'm not no no no no no no no no no,
he's no like but no, no, no, I've got it.
Just citing the records rate I am team Jordan over Lebron.
That doesn't mean I think Lebron is like Booby Gibson
or something like that. Lebron is an all time great.
I've got the number two one, the.

Speaker 5 (49:16):
Thing Lebron dragged for Booby Gibson's to the championship in
O seven, But no one cares about that he did.
They just care that he lost. What I love most
about this story about Luca and Lebron is that, you know,
the story came out this week and we were ready
for this story to come out about why the MAVs
got rid of Luca, and one of them was like,
he smokes hookah and drinks a beer, and it's like

(49:39):
the best player NBA history would go play seventy two
holes of golf and have eight cigars before a game
and then put up thirty one points. Yeah, Like who
cares he likes hukah. He's twenty five years old, right, Like, yeah, oh,
you have to drink a couple of beers. Well, he's
the first player that ever drinks. But Lebron has like
a wine club that he promotes, Like who cares? What matters.

(50:01):
What matters is what happens on game now. Of course,
can a lifestyle of houkah and beer lead to breaking
down body at thirty three? I mean sure, But what
happens a lot of times with these athletes is the
order they get they realize like, yeah, I probably should
smoke less hookah, I probably drink less beer. I'll go
to win now, Like, is you mature? He's only twenty five.

(50:21):
As you get and you're sort of this grown man,
like your grown man body happens about twenty seven, twenty eight,
twenty nine. That's what a lot of players sort of mature.
They realize like, Okay, let me change my lifestyle habits.
And for the Mavericks to just discard Luca because at
twenty five he wants to go a lot of beer,
it's such a narrow sided view of how players mature

(50:43):
over the years. And I would imagine at twenty nine
he's not smoking as much Whoka drinks much brand as
he used to. Well, yeah, that's so silly to me.

Speaker 2 (50:50):
It's the thing. And it works this way with relationships,
where when you're in the middle of it and there's
drama and the BS and that's what you're focused on,
and when you get away from it, you're like, ah,
they might have been worth that extra drama and extra bs,
Like some relationships work like that. I can't imagine the
MAVs don't think that at some point about Luca because

(51:12):
they're in the middle of this relationship and he's not
working at It's not dedicating himself. That's what you're focused on,
and they made more of it than they should have.
The truth is, even though I would love to see
Luca fully dedicated and have more of like the Mamba
mentality and just be this workout warrior, fully all in
to see where he could go, that's just not his approach.

(51:34):
But even with that being said, we're making it sound
like this guy is a scrub. It's insane where it's gone.
The MAVs are making him sound like, oh gosh, this
freaking give him like another year or two. That's how
they're making it sound. It's like this guy is an
absolute baller in spite of not being all in in
terms of being dedicated to a workout regimen or a dier.

(51:56):
He's still first team All NBA the last five years.
Like he's he just turned twenty six, So it's crazy.
He's gonna get his shooting stroke squared away. This is
wild too. So in the seven games he's played with
the Lakers, he's had two games where he's won for
seven from three and he's had another two games where

(52:18):
he's won for nine from three. Yeah, and it's just
a matter of time until he gets that stroke, and
they've won like they've won the last five, they've won
what five of seven that Luca has played in, So
even though he's not filling it up just yet, he's
going to and that's gonna make him that much more dangerous.

Speaker 5 (52:38):
Look, I think the most important thing here if you
look at the first Jazz loss, was that after the break,
before the break, I think it.

Speaker 2 (52:47):
Was it was it was right after the break. It
was the first game Luca played. They won that game,
then they lost the next night.

Speaker 5 (52:53):
So since they played the Jazz twice, since they've played
seven games, they have a lot one hundred points, one
oh two, one hundred and ninety nine, one o two,
one o two like that to me is the most
important thing is they just are not allowing as many
points as they had previously, and that obviously correlates with
a lot of their wins.

Speaker 2 (53:09):
Some of that, though, is that's two against Utah, it's
one against Charlotte.

Speaker 5 (53:13):
Count of Utah games, I count of the acount of
the Portland and Hornets game. Those are the two in
that in that mix of teams. They lost the Hornets
game one hundred to ninety seven, So that was it.
I was offered tickets last night to the Hornets game.
That who they played last night? I even it doesn't
even matter. Oh Wizards. I was like, not ill that one.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
You would have saw Mark Williams get double digit rebounds the.

Speaker 5 (53:34):
Hornets beat Oh my god. The Hornets have lost one, two, three, four, five, six,
seventy eight. They've lost ten of the nine or last ten.
The one winners the Lakers.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Lakers, you're NBA champion Lakers.

Speaker 9 (53:48):
Huh.

Speaker 5 (53:48):
I didn't say they were winning the championship.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
I just think that they can winning the West, West.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
The West. I think the Celtics are better. The Celtics.
I think I think would beat them.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
They're not winning this series. We can do a little.
We could do like a Saints Panthers wager on. I'd
be happy, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (54:02):
But I'm gonna get it. But that's the Saints Panthers
thing is pretty much even money I would need to find.

Speaker 2 (54:06):
I'll give you what do you need?

Speaker 5 (54:08):
What do you want?

Speaker 2 (54:09):
Let's let's what do you want to plus one fifty?
You want to one? What do you name your price?

Speaker 5 (54:13):
Let's we get to the series.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
Oh, they're not they're not winning the West. They have crack?
Are they winning the West. They don't have a front court.
They don't have big guys. They have Jackson Hayes. That's it.
That's the end of the list.

Speaker 5 (54:24):
Well, they have tall guys, they just don't play in
the front court players guys.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
You notice, like Lebron, he actually has has I'm gonna
even say, be able to wrest some more. Let him
play more off the ball, which and free, which is
something we haven't seen Lebron's career. So that's kind of
interesting to the last time Lebron, you know, played with
a star that had the ball more than him was
probably two sixteen when Irvinger the cat.

Speaker 5 (54:49):
It was probably Dwayne Wade. Honestly, it was first year
in Miami. But yeah, he looks rejuvenated and JUVENI has
to win me that wager. So no, I'm not, I'm
I would. I think it actually makes more sense to
wait and bet the Lakers if you think they're gonna
beat Oklahoma City when they play them in the Western
Cow's Final, So just roll over their their money line
every game.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
I want to look at the odds to win the West. Yeah, right,
because if we could go by that and kind of
you know, make shift it I'll figure it out in
the break right odd.

Speaker 5 (55:20):
Yeah, they have the futures up this morning, because sometimes
they don't. Oh, here we go, Western Coffine shempion bet
MGM plus six fifty Thunder minus one fifteen Nuggets plus
five seventy five Lakers plus six fifty Warriors plus seven
hundred the huge gap to the Grizzlies.

Speaker 4 (55:35):
Jesus, what a gap.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
And if they're matched up against the Thunder, I mean,
come on, man, it's would you I know we're excited
about Luke in La, but no.

Speaker 5 (55:45):
Would you lay minus seven hundred Lakers to win their
their the Pacific Division. They're up by six, They're up
by five and a half games.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
I don't like laying that number, but I have a
hard time seeing them collapse. They're going to win their division. Yeah,
but big deal. They might be one and done come playoff.

Speaker 5 (56:04):
Do you ever pick? Do you ever do the exact
the exact for like exact wagers for like the finals
matchups and stuff.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
I typically don't. I typically haven't gotten in there never.

Speaker 4 (56:15):
I just think of these one way kind of things. Yeah,
name the finalists, you know what I mean? Like, I
just can't do.

Speaker 2 (56:23):
It and it's hard to get both teams Celtics Flakers, plus.

Speaker 4 (56:29):
It's the same exact one. Yeah, I can't do it.

Speaker 5 (56:32):
No, that's good.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
It's not a good price, honestly, would be your wager?
Are you saying? Are you going with that?

Speaker 5 (56:39):
With that? I'm just look.

Speaker 4 (56:41):
Celtics thunder three to one. I can't take three to
one my money up now for that, even though of
course that looks like a good bet, But boy, I
just can't. I can't do it. I have to take
a longer shot if anything.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
Yeah, you know Calves Celtics have playoffs. Yeah, be pretty
interesting caves.

Speaker 4 (57:00):
Under seven to one. I'm looking at them. You know.
It's just it's so tough to to take these low odds.
And you want to know something, everyone has a first
of all, most most books don't put this up. But
it's just it's so tough to do it. You could
do those, you know, you could do mechanical parlays on
one team if you like one team to make it there.
You can't do that on this. But as far as

(57:22):
like you said, the Lakers there, Brian said it. I
can't lay like seven to one either. I really can't.
But however, I do know that, uh you know that
looks like a like easy money. But there's one thing
I learned about easy money. It's never easy.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
So okay, so real fast, we'll go around the horn.
Your top three teams to win the West, like go
in orders, like, okay, see ba ba B. What would
you say it is, Jeff? You go in Lakers number one?

Speaker 4 (57:53):
I hate to say it's yeah, it's probably what their
odds are, except.

Speaker 5 (57:58):
I would say I would I would say, like, okay,
see Los Angeles Denver.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
Yeah, Los Angeles Lakers. Right, I'm just making.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
Yeah, the Clippers are the Clippers, poor Clippers.

Speaker 2 (58:11):
What about your what are your top three?

Speaker 4 (58:13):
I mean like like like like Jeff said, look at
the separations of the Grizzlies, you have to go with
what I think.

Speaker 5 (58:20):
The Warriors are just there because their name. I don't
think that there should be group with the Lakers, and.

Speaker 4 (58:26):
They are they're they're they're right there with the Lakers
seven to one. So but yeah, I mean, it doesn't
take the amazing Crescin to come up with these thunder
Nuggets Lakers.

Speaker 2 (58:35):
Yeah, sure, is that what you would go with?

Speaker 4 (58:37):
Yeah, I mean unless you want to put the Grizzlies in.

Speaker 2 (58:41):
That's that's my top three. I would go Thunder Denver
grizz I wouldn't have the Lakers in my top three.
They have no front sorry, Brian, they don't have front court.
That's what they did. They don't have big guys. Gotta
have big guys in the playoffs. Look at the West.

Speaker 5 (58:59):
Series, Zach, I'm concerned about Zach Edie sure that really
worries me.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Jared Jackson Junior is fantastic. You eat the Lakers alive, alive.
They have nobody for JJJ No one.

Speaker 5 (59:13):
No one row Yeah, yeah, well, okay. The schedule for
the Lakers coming up, by the way, is they play
the Clippers. They play New Orleans at home, and then
New York at home. That's at Boston, at Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Denver,
back home, Phoenix. We'll know more about the Lakers next Okay, Neil, two.

(01:00:47):
all right, we welcome in our good friend, Christian Cipolini,
BETMGM trading manager. You know, Christian, Jeff and I we're
just having verbal fistic cuffs, is what we were engaged
in over here. Okay, the Lakers. He's a believer in
them winning the West. I am not a believer. What
would be the best case scenario for you at BETMGM

(01:01:10):
within reason of a team winning the West and the
worst case scenario for a team winning the West just
from a betting standpoint.

Speaker 10 (01:01:18):
Yeah, hey, so from our standpoint, yeah, the Lakers would
be by far or worst outcome to win the West.
Outside of that, the next bad outcome would be the Warriors.

Speaker 6 (01:01:28):
As of right now, we're very much okay with the
thunder coming out of the West. I'm a realistic team
that looks like they could. The book is going to
be at this moment room for the thunder there.

Speaker 5 (01:01:38):
What about in the Eastern Conference? Any tickets outside of
really Boston and Cleveland? Is there a team that you're
hoping doesn't win as a long shot?

Speaker 10 (01:01:47):
Yeah, the East is one we're actually okay with. I
guess it's just kind of how it's shaking out that
it's when you kind of look at it, especially from
an odds perspective, we're really only giving three teams a
chance to come out.

Speaker 6 (01:01:59):
Of the eas since Boss in Cleveland, and then a
little bit.

Speaker 9 (01:02:01):
Of an outside chance of the Knicks.

Speaker 4 (01:02:03):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:02:03):
You know, the next closest team there is the Bucks
at fifty to one. And there's something that's been a
very short favorite. Uh, you know, with's not back and
forth to the favorites of the sunder throughout this whole season,
so that.

Speaker 10 (01:02:14):
Low price point and.

Speaker 9 (01:02:15):
Kept them to be a good outcome for us.

Speaker 4 (01:02:17):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (01:02:17):
The stuff that table in are not a great outcome.
They're not terrible, but but you know, not one that
we would want. And then the next they're actually surprisingly
okay looking at this mountain sut is to make it
usually I'm back and teem for it, especially when they're
playing well. So at this moment we're actually uh okay
with either of the two co favorites winning, that would
be okay.

Speaker 4 (01:02:38):
For the book. Hey, Christian, let me ask you about
the national championship in college basketball. Any surprise bets you
could tell us about, or any large bets you could
tell us about for futures, Like you know, there's someone
but ten thousand on Auburn or Duke or maybe someone
you know throw a five thousand dollars flyer on something
like Saint John's or something anything like that coming in

(01:02:59):
or have been in.

Speaker 6 (01:03:02):
Yeah, I'll look in trying to see if I can
get you some good nuggets for next time on like
a good big bet or anything. I don't have anything
specifically ahead, but people.

Speaker 4 (01:03:10):
But.

Speaker 9 (01:03:12):
I know they always do, so I should come prepared with.

Speaker 6 (01:03:15):
A couple more next Okay, but for us, the ones
that's taking the most bets is Duke by a wide margin.

Speaker 9 (01:03:23):
And if I kind of pull out to a team that.

Speaker 10 (01:03:25):
Maybe is a little bit surprised that they have as
many bets.

Speaker 6 (01:03:27):
They are both teams out of Michigan, Michigan and Michigan State.

Speaker 9 (01:03:31):
Both taking a good amount of bets for.

Speaker 6 (01:03:33):
Team at one at thirty to one, another at fifty to.

Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
One, and I got them closer to the tournament.

Speaker 10 (01:03:39):
I'm sure too, right, Yeah, of course, once the field
gets set, you know, that's one Obviously we'll have a
big spike from our futures outcome. But I mean we've
taking a healthy amount of action so far. I mean
a lot of it's a good majority of it is
on Duke. I think we actually almost.

Speaker 9 (01:03:54):
Have a wors of our bets so far. They've come to.

Speaker 10 (01:03:57):
Really been on Duke fective. So when they're good, people
like to met them.

Speaker 2 (01:04:03):
Wow, crazy random pop quiz. We just learned this, Christian,
So no harm if you don't do you know where
Stetson is located? What state?

Speaker 5 (01:04:12):
I do?

Speaker 9 (01:04:13):
It is in Florida?

Speaker 10 (01:04:14):
Is in Delancey?

Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Oh okay you okay?

Speaker 4 (01:04:18):
Wow? You know the town?

Speaker 9 (01:04:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:04:23):
Nice?

Speaker 2 (01:04:23):
Nicely done by.

Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
You, because I actually bet a thousand bucks on the
under on the MGM app on Stetson and and also
Austin p which I knew that one, but stets In
I didn't know, so we were just wondering where actually
was located. You actually know the town?

Speaker 6 (01:04:38):
Wool, I'm gonna have to go back the Land Florida.
That was okay, Yeah, my favorite my favorite mask out there?

Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
I think.

Speaker 5 (01:04:51):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
What should we call this?

Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
The Land? Let's go with that. How about for to
today Christian either NBA or college shoops, anything that would
be a good result for you guys there at bet MGM.

Speaker 9 (01:05:07):
Yeah, I mean there's a good one today, Celtics.

Speaker 6 (01:05:09):
It's early on as of right now, we're we're okay
with the Celtics.

Speaker 9 (01:05:13):
That's a favorite.

Speaker 6 (01:05:13):
That's kind of a rare one.

Speaker 9 (01:05:15):
Uh yeah, Nicky is another one.

Speaker 10 (01:05:18):
We don't want the Knicks to win, so we'll be
really going to beat there.

Speaker 9 (01:05:22):
But yeah, a little bit of a quieter day today.

Speaker 6 (01:05:23):
I'm kind of getting ready for next week where college
basketball really starts taking off when the conference championship starts.

Speaker 9 (01:05:30):
So it's like our last quiet week until March madness.

Speaker 5 (01:05:34):
Today, the offensive liignment run in the combine. I noticed
there's no forty times put up for offensive line today.
Is that something we can work on for next year.

Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
I will make sure that we get on that for
next year. You're right, we do need to respect the
offensive live.

Speaker 5 (01:05:48):
You know, Will Campbell's gonna run fast. It's very important
he can be a topic in this draft.

Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
You're you're very right, thank you.

Speaker 9 (01:05:56):
That is bad.

Speaker 4 (01:06:00):
When tonight's games the last game on the schedule here
Lakers Clippers, I'm just guessing that you'll get a lot
of a lot more information on that game. Well I
shouldn't say a lot more bets on that game, but
you know, Luca has a possible rest situation tonight too,
So that's why this game opened up. Lakers minus one
went up to Clippers minus three and a half or

(01:06:23):
minus three. But let me ask you, is is right? Now?
Do you guys stand on any side here?

Speaker 5 (01:06:30):
You're rooting for?

Speaker 6 (01:06:31):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:06:31):
This will come in more closer game time at six
forty time our time here in Vegas nine to forty
Eastern time.

Speaker 6 (01:06:38):
Yeah, I mean the Lakers have taken more bets, but
that's kind of just standard. Yeah, this is one that
will definitely learn a lot more, especially you know, if
we do get a status of Luca one way or another,
that will start kind of change the best to come in.
It's always the kind of the biggest head headache from
a bookmaking standpoint is regular season NBA in trying to book.

Speaker 9 (01:06:58):
These games without knowing if you know.

Speaker 6 (01:07:00):
The scar player on the team who's gonna player or not.

Speaker 10 (01:07:02):
It makes him of course super difficult, and especially for.

Speaker 6 (01:07:05):
A late night game.

Speaker 9 (01:07:06):
So yeah, we're hoping we get some clarity sooners later.

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
All right, Well, hey Christian, always appreciate your time. Man,
have a good Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:07:13):
We'll catch you soon of course. Daan, go hatters, that's right, go.

Speaker 2 (01:07:19):

Speaker 4 (01:08:04):

Speaker 2 (01:08:05):
We got Isaac Lowen Crown over here gracing the airways.
Always good when we hear from this guy. What's the latest?

Speaker 4 (01:08:10):
I love?

Speaker 8 (01:08:11):
Would you guys believe we have an honest to goodness
Stetson Beach Volleyball update.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
I a twist, Okay.

Speaker 8 (01:08:20):
I'm not making this up. On Saturday at the Cactus Classic,
in Arizona, Stetson defeated Jeff Schwartz's Oregon Ducks five matches
to none.

Speaker 4 (01:08:32):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:08:34):
Well, I don't know what peach you practice on in Eugene,
organ but.

Speaker 8 (01:08:38):
Lug up with us. That is a very good point,
come to think of ahead. Not many beaches in Arizona.
I was no geography major, but that's kind of off
the ocean. But there you have it. Very interesting coincidental,
coincidental matchup in the world of college volleyball on the

(01:09:00):
beach side. In the NFL, the San Francisco forty nine
Ers have reportedly agreed to trade receiver Deebo Samuel to
the Washington Commanders for a fifth round draft pick. In
the NBA, the Chicago Bulls announced this morning the guard
Io Dos Sumu will need season ending left shoulder surgery.
On the court. On Saturday night, the Philadelphia seventy six
Ers broke a nine game losing streak with a one

(01:09:21):
twenty six to one to nineteen win over the Golden
State Warriors. Philadelphia's Quentin Grimes a career high forty four points.
The San Antonio Spurs won in Memphis one thirty to
one twenty eight dearon Fox the game winning twenty foot
jumper with two point one to play. Finally, ESPN reported
on Saturday the Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred is
considering a request to remove Pete Rose from Baseball's ineligible list.

(01:09:47):
Rose passed away last September at the age of eighty three.
The petition for reinstatement was made by Roses family Guys.

Speaker 2 (01:09:54):
Back to you, Thank you, I Low. It's Fox Sports
Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. Be sure to check
out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch
of video highlights from our shows. Be sure to subscribe
so you always have instant access to our Fox Sports
Radio videos on YouTube. A couple of college games here,

(01:10:16):
one ranked versus ranked on a Sunday. I always take
that on a Sunday, right Like sometimes the slate leaves
a lot to be desired. How about number eleven Wisconsin
at number eight Michigan State SPARTI favored by four and
a half right now, total one forty five and a half.
Is this crack? I know you like the stats ins
in the North Floridas of the world. What do you

(01:10:37):
think about ranked versus ranked Wisconsin versus Michigan State. You
stay away.

Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
We heard a couple of a couple of big games
in the Big Tennis. They're looking to get probably ten teams,
and they did a big dance.

Speaker 5 (01:10:48):
It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
Yeah. I don't know how many years we'll have left
of tom Izzo, but this team might be his best
chance to win another championship for a long time. I
know it's said saying a lot, especially at their odds,
but maybe his last chance to win another one. So
he's been to eight final fours, that would be great
to see him in ninth come April. Let's see where

(01:11:13):
this game actually opened. Let's see Michigan State. You know,
I don't. You're right, I don't follow these games like
I do the Stetsons. But this game took a big
hit on the under. Actually, let me just see if
it's still at that number. Sorry guys, my live odds. Yeah, yeah,
it still is. So it was one forty seven and

(01:11:34):
a half down to one forty five and a half.
Took some money on the under, a little bit on
the side, opened up four and now up to four
and a half one forty five and a half at MGM.
But yeah, no side for me on public teams that
are just you know, I'm not saying I don't bet them,
because I do bet them from time to time. Well
bet more more likely a total than ever a side

(01:11:56):
on a big public team that has lots of media
coverage on it. I stick to the totals, and you know,
as we get to the big Dance here and stuff,
I'll probably bet a little bit less and less and
just stick to maybe some of these conference these conference games,
and especially the first round unders. I like playing there,

(01:12:18):
but sometimes I'll be sometimes I'll bet, you know, first round.
You know, even even in the big Dance, I'll bet
that first round. I'll bet some unders in the first
half too, because it's such a pure number. You know,
the sharpest guy in the world really trained me in
this sport, and he always said, if there was a
big enough market the first half, because there's no garbage

(01:12:41):
fouls and it's just a pure number first half. But
the limits are a lot less for a syndicate to
get down on. So but yeah, nothing nothing right right
now for me on this game.

Speaker 5 (01:12:54):
I will say yesterday was a good reminder Crock that
the first to play the first half for a lot
of underdogs in the tournament, which you have recommended before,
because there were a lot that covered the first half
yesterday that we're not able to cover the full game. Yep.
Virginia was one of them against against Clemson. Stanford did
end up pulling through there, but that was like a
one point spread. It wasn't very much, but like Virginia,

(01:13:15):
play comes it well in the first half and then
just you know, got got got a torment in the
second half. As far as this game, let's say this,
Michigan State right now is not a team Brian I
want to get in front of. They're playing good basketball.
I'm not sure they're a great team, but they're beating
a lot of ranked teams in the Big Ten by
good amount. They're playing really good defense, They're they're kind
of just shutting teams down, and in critical moments they

(01:13:37):
win the critical moments. Their team. I just want to
stay away from. It's not really anti Wisconsin, take it all,
just I think Michigan State right now is a team
that was doing the things that that you do to
win and cover games, and I'm staying away from them.
Wisconsin had that terrible second half to Oregon a few
weeks ago, came back and beat Washington pretty handily the

(01:13:58):
other night. If I were called, they beat Washing by locks.
I've been on Wisconsin in that game, they were like
fourteen fifteen point favorites. And then obviously now we'll have
Michigan State. So I'm saying I'd stay away from this one.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
Hey Man, impressive four game winning streak for Sparti because yeah, yeah,
the offenses that they've played against, their three of those
teams were ranked. So against Illinois they gave up sixty five,
against Purdue sixty six, against Michigan they gave up sixty two,
and against Maryland they gave up fifty five and had
that crazy buzzer beater.

Speaker 5 (01:14:29):
Yeah, they're playing with basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
Yeah, but defensively you you know this with the Ducks there, Jeff,
where the Ducks had a great first half. They scored
fifty points roughly against Sparti. They could do nothing.

Speaker 5 (01:14:41):
It was fifty exactly fifty, like thirty four half time in.

Speaker 2 (01:14:46):
Loss, and they just couldn't score from that point on.

Speaker 5 (01:14:50):
They had twenty four point second half of that game.
So they Yeah, and we saw Michigan too, they beat Michigan.
Couple was it a couple weeks ago? Michigan State beat
Michigan and they were a game was close as well,
and then Michigan State it was it was thirty four
thirty thirty four Michigans Lellion halftime, I Missigon, scored twenty
four second half points and lost by thirteen.

Speaker 2 (01:15:12):
Crazy. Yeah, but that's the thing I really love. I
want to see this game because Sparti's defense against that
Wisconsin offense, that's get a lot of fun. Wisconsin's offense
been pretty good, pretty good, especially as of late. They've
they put it good, yeah right, scored. You're not used
to seeing Wisconsin put up points like this.

Speaker 5 (01:15:30):
But they're up tempo team now.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
Yeah yeah, three of the last four games. Look at this.
Ninety four against Purdue, ninety five against Illinois. Eighty eight
points scored against Washington. Washington's nothing to write home about.

Speaker 4 (01:15:42):
That.

Speaker 5 (01:15:42):
Terrible.

Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
When you're scoring in the nineties, the seventies, consistently, the eighties,
you're not used to this. So shout out to Greg
Gard at Wisconsin. This is a new day and age
of Wisconsin hoops. It's more wide open offense right there.
John Tonjay's had a great season. We've got Bill Krakenberger professionals,
arts handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian

(01:16:03):
No coming up next. Prop it Up. We look at
the prop betting market that is on the way. It's
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is Fox
Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM on Fridays. BETMGM, authorized
gaming operator of the NBA, is making first field goal
scorer wagers more exciting with second Chance. What second chance ever?

(01:16:27):
Bet on your favorite player to score the first field
goal only to see him make an assist to a
teammate for an easy layup. Well, with BETMGM Second Chance,
you'll get your stake back in cash if your first
field goal scorer score a second instead of first. All right,
let's do this.

Speaker 5 (01:16:44):
Prop it up?

Speaker 4 (01:16:45):
Player plays all right?

Speaker 2 (01:16:48):
Prop betting market, we start with you crack with something
you like.

Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Let's go with Jordan Hawkins, New Orleans points over MGM
has over ten and a half even playing twenty five
plus minutes. Since the All Star breaks, He's averaged twelve
and a half points a game last ten games to Jazz,
one of the worst transitioning deep for d and three
point defense in the NBA. Hawkins scores most of his

(01:17:13):
points there too. It's a three point. So let's go
with Hawkin's over there we go.

Speaker 5 (01:17:18):
Okay, all right, I'm gonna go back to it. I'm
gonna take it, and that's a point and higher than usual.
But let me take Jason Tatum over fifteen and a
half rebounds and assists I mentioned earlier in the show.
He has been over this number now since the All
Star Break in every game but one. In these bigger
type games too, he tends to have those rebounds. That's,

(01:17:39):
by the way. Cleveland the other night he had nine
and sixteen he miss to get Detroit, but then before
that eleven and six, ten and nine, eleven and ten
since the All Star breaks. So it's gone over in
four or five games by a lot, by the way,
at nineteen, twenty one, seventeen and twenty five in the
loss of the Caps. So I'll go back to Jason
Tatum here getting tips off about two.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Hours and that what was the line again? Fifteen and a.

Speaker 5 (01:18:04):
Half you and half? Yea little higher than usual, but
to one point harder than usual. That's not that much
higher than usual, but I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
Again, right, Okay, Hey, no worries. I'm gonna go with
Anthony Edwards. He's fresh off of his one game suspension
for his sixteenth technical follow of the season. He had
a couple of lower scoring games for him the last two,
so I look for him to rebound. Against OKC he

(01:18:31):
only scored seventeen in that game he got tossed. Against
the Lakers, he only scored eighteen in limited action, so
his numbers, his minutes should go up. This guy typically
with his scoring push. As of late, he's gotten consistently
thirty you know, six thirty seven, thirty eight minutes, So
I expect him to play a lot today against the Suns.

(01:18:54):
And listen, he loves Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant's his guy,
so it seems like he always steps his game up
when he's able to share the court with KD. And
you look at some of these games he's had as
of late. These are all games in February forty nine points,
forty one points, forty four, thirty seven, twenty nine. So
the last two he took a dip. I look for
him to progress to the mean. Huh, a little progression

(01:19:18):
to the mean. I'm gonna take over twenty six and
a half points for Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
Today, Like in a way we go Yeah, there, you go,
right there.

Speaker 2 (01:19:27):
I love that. Jordan Hawkins just out of nowhere, huck.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
Yeah, that's left field. Yeah, ten and a half. You know,
Like I said, it all comes down to what these
guys have. It's pace of gain the pace. What's going
on since the All Star Break? Yeah, like I said,
twenty five plus minutes, he's been averaging twelve and a
half points a game, So there was a couple of
nine and a half's out there over ten and a half,
even not laying juice bet MGM, probably a better bet

(01:19:55):
than laying one fifteen or one twenty. Like I said,
he's averaging twelve and a half last ten games, so
let's see if he gets there. There are you promptions?
Is the way it to go for me in the
NBA rather than betting the NBA sides, which are really
tough to beat. I talk about it all the time,
My god sharpest syndicate guys in the world sports betting syndicates,

(01:20:16):
they stay away from NBA sides. It's like NFL side though,
I may even have a better time, better chance to
beat NFL sides than NBA sides with the randomness of
end of the game and stuff. That's you know, it's.

Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
Real tough, absolutely, man, no doubt. All right, coming up next,
is this what's best for the family or what's best
for the game. There's a big difference there. We'll get
into it. Oh, good morning, hope your Sunday is off
to a great start. You know, for years this was
sports radio just agony. You know, it's should Pete Rose

(01:20:53):
be in the Hall of Fame? Where it was basically like,
hey guys, it's July and it's not football season yet,
so well let's just throw this up. I think it's
different now because Pete Rose sadly has passed away, and
now you have Pete Rose's oldest daughter along with a lawyer.
They met with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred back in December,

(01:21:17):
and right now Rob Manfred is considering a petition to
reinstate Pete Rose, like to remove him from the ineligible list,
which would allow him to be inducted into the Baseball
Hall of Fame. You know, I've got thoughts on this,
but I'll throw it to you guys first. You know, Crack,
I know you're interested in this topic for sure. Jeff

(01:21:40):
you as well. Jeff, you're a big baseball guy. But Crack,
what's your read on this? What are your opinions on Rose?

Speaker 4 (01:21:46):
Possibly real personal things here. I think I probably told you, guys,
I believe right. You guys know I am breakfast for
Pete Rose or.

Speaker 2 (01:21:55):
No, Yeah, yeah, you said that.

Speaker 4 (01:21:57):
Yeah, so well. The first time I met No, actually
the second time. The first time was that I met
him with my buddy Teddy Atlas. The second time was
at Black Bear Diner here on Tropicana. It's our version
of East Coast diners here, and Pete was sitting at
the next table next to us with three other younger people,

(01:22:17):
which I find out now there's kids and grandkids. And
after it was after they were getting up. You know,
I'm not one to bother anyone ever at a meal
or anything, so but I had to tell him about
a mutual friend that we had and that I had
on the showtime show entertainer who by the way, just
passed away to Cookie Jar, legendary lounge entertainer for years,

(01:22:40):
and he was so happy. I mentioned him. I actually
called Cookie right then. There we had a three way
call with us free here, Me and Pete standing there
talking to Cookie on a speakerphone. Was pretty cool. And
his kids actually went out to the car and Pete,
Pete and I were talking for a while. So we
were just talking about some different things and different friends
we've had together. And Cookie now told Pete that, man,

(01:23:04):
you're sitting with one of the biggest sports betty. He
put me up big time. And Pete now is asking
me a couple of questions on on my opinions on
a few things, and so he left nicely. All took
pictures with everyone. My buddies that were here from South
Carolina took pictures with them, and we thought it was over.
And sure enough, my buddy turns and says, oh my god,

(01:23:25):
the red phone's on the table. He Pete left his phone,
his iPhone on the table, and I said, oh, man,
how he leave his phone? And I didn't even know
it was his. He could have been his kids, but no.
Right on the phone itself was a picture of Pete
and his dad when Pete was a little kid playing baseball,
like I'm playing a catch. It was so cool. I
found out this now because if there's another story with

(01:23:47):
Pete Rose, so it just so happens that. Now, how
do we get Pete Rose back his phone? Does he
come back? And we waited, We waited, we waited until
we were almost done. Nothing. No, Pete Rose doesn't show up,
doesn't He's not maybe maybe not a phone guy. This
is actually even more confirmed by he didn't have a
lock on his phone. My friend said, just call the
last number that he dialed. So sure enough, swipe up.

(01:24:08):
Look there last number he dialed. And do I say
it on air? There was a couple of big names.
The last two names I'll just tell you giant giant
names in sports media industry and one was a giant
giant name also so but anyway, didn't call them. Called
the last number he called in Vegas was just like

(01:24:30):
an hour and a half before, and they actually answered
the phone. I said, this, I notice is Pete's phone,
And you know, they called his son and he came back.
It was really cool, don't you know. A week later,
I go back again and just Pete and his grandson
are sitting there and sure enough, the same booth, and
I said, hey, what's up? Pete, same booth. He goes, Yeah,
I come a couple times a week. You know, I'm

(01:24:51):
right down the street. He said, who are you with?
He said nobody? He said sit here. I mean, so
me and Pete wrapped for the forty minutes. I want
to tell you something. He asked me more than I
asked him. He was so enthralled with different things. And
we had a great conversation. And that day I realized
and I think if we might have been off off

(01:25:13):
season then, because I think it was in like June.
I actually realized that day Pete wanted to be in
the Hall of Fame. He actually talked to me about
that a little bit, and but he didn't want to
be in when he passed away. He wanted that I
read didn't want to go in. Yeah, he didn't. He
wanted the first grand kids, by the way. So that

(01:25:34):
that's something that he that he told me, and and
we had a great breakfast, and he fought me actually
to pay. I paid. I wanted to pay for what
an honor it is to pay for Pete Rose. Now
I took a lot of flak. I go on a
lot of shows here in Vegas. Oh my god, boy,
I took and by the way, of course I took
flack from people under anonymity. But you know, I took

(01:25:55):
a lot of a lot of hell from people saying
he did, he deserves nothing to be I mean, I
took so much, so much back and forth, but a
lot of people went after listen his accomplishments on the field.
The man should be in the Hall of Fame. I'm sorry, Yes,
he shouldn't have bet on baseball. Yes, as far as

(01:26:15):
I know, even that day, I didn't volunteer it. He
said it to me. He volunteered it. I would never
have the the you know, the brass to ask him
this question. He volunteered it to me, He goes, you know,
I never bet against my team. I mean, you know,
so he volunteered that to me. So it was Uh.
I had great conversations, great photos, great time with Pete.

Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
As someone who leads the Barry bonch of me in
the Hall of Fame, Bandwagon as the as the maybe
founding memory on social media. I understand obviously the you know,
the need if I think for baseball, the baseball to
acknowledge that, you know, some players broke the rules and

(01:26:56):
might still be Hall of Famers. The only the PUSHMA
having the Pete Rose Hall of Fame thing is is
a couple of things here. It doesn't mean I don't
think you should be in the whole thing is the
Hall of Fame. To me is a museum of baseball.
Uh And you's hard to include not include the hits
leader in the Museum of baseball. So crack, I don't know.
You probably have never been in a sports locker room before.

(01:27:18):
Have you ever got a chance to be, like to
a tour somewhere or anything like that.

Speaker 4 (01:27:22):
I just fight the Raiders one that was it?

Speaker 11 (01:27:23):
Okay, in the Oakland Coliseum or they do tours, Yeah, yeah,
they tours before the stadium even opened to the team tour.

Speaker 5 (01:27:34):
The game day locker room was a little bit different
than the like the regular locker room. Ride. Have you
have you been before? Imagine you have right locker room anyway, Yeah,
the locker room. Okay, crack. There is a poster that's right, yay,
big no gambling in every locker room, all right, every

(01:27:56):
locker room. It's the only poster in the locker room
that says no no gambling. This huge poster. Okay, and
I would imagine it was in his locker room too.

Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
Yeah. Now, and right outside that locker room, there's signs
for every sports book in the world for gambling.

Speaker 5 (01:28:11):
Now, look, it's contractory and they've loosened the policy. Right,
the players are allowed to gamble mostly just not the facility
and on their sport. Of course. Interesting by the way
that Fresno State investigation came out, the players are betting,
they're under under player props, just just so dumb, like
like like you're not gonna get caught doing that. But nonetheless,

(01:28:32):
the steroid thing is different for me. I know, people say,
well they broke the rules. They actually didn't because Baseball
didn't test for steroids, so they didn't. What rule they
break that? It was written in the in the nineteen
eighty three Interesting, in nineteen eighty three a rule book,
it did say the rule book you can't use. But
my argument is like they didn't test, so how could

(01:28:52):
you they let it happen. I mean, Mark McGuire had
Andrew and his locker. For heaven's sakes, it was like
right his locker, no one cared. That's like the very
nuanced take of like, well, I get why Pete Rose
is not in he broke the golden rule of baseball.
Now I have any sport, honestly, and I understand that
he might not have wagered on against himself, but as
a manager, if you're wagering on your team, you are

(01:29:16):
certainly managing the game differently. I'm not saying it can
lead to player injury or can lead to you doing
reckless stuff, but you're certainly I would imagine wagering. You know,
you maybe manage a little bit differently if you have
five grand in the line if you win or lose,
then if you just have your pride on the line
for a given game. Again, Baseball, to me, the any
Hall of Fame is a museum. And if you want

(01:29:38):
to put in Pete Rose or put in Barry Bonder
Roger Clemens and have them in a different wing, or
just just acknowledge like this is what put a plaque
up of Pete Rose's accomplishments, and then also knowledge he
broke the rules, like you could do all of those.
And the last thing on the stereoid aeratwos. I think
these are both in line right where you ban Pete

(01:29:58):
Rose and Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens are not in
a I don't think Peter Rose was probably the only
baseball pointer ever gambled on baseball, like we know the
other stories of obviously, you know the famous nineteen nineteen
White Sox. I don't think he's the only one that's
way that's gambled on baseball. I imagine he's one of
the ones got caught. Barry Bonds, Roger Clembc's not the
only two Hall of famers would be Hall of famers

(01:30:20):
to have taken steroids. And just to matter if you
like the guy or not, there are players that played
better at thirty five than twenty five. That's steroids. Like
that's just the way, that's what it is. And so
I'm talkingting. I guess I'm probably pro just putting everyone
in the Hall of Fame that deserves it. Because what
Peter Rose did as a player, you can take that

(01:30:40):
away from him if you bet on himself, you know
what I mean, Like that's that it happened.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
So go ahead, Brian, you definitely have to have acknowledgment
in the Baseball Hall of Fame for Barry Bonds, Pete Rose.
These all time great Yes that listen, Barry Bonds was
what a three time MVP before any of the juice,
you know what.

Speaker 5 (01:31:00):
I mean, Like, oh, I haven't memorized eight gold gloves,
three MVPs. He had four hundred, four hundred before he
started using steroids. I mean, it's a Hall of Fame
career in itself.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
Right, You at least have to acknowledge them. That's the
thing they have. They have to have some type of acknowledgment,
whether they're enshrined, inducted, or what. They have to be acknowledged,
just have to be. But the thing is, yeah, yeah, something.
But the thing with Pete is the question I come
down to for Rob Manfred is if I'm reinstating him,

(01:31:31):
if he's eligible for the Hall of Fame, he's off
the ineligible list. Is this what's best for his family?
Or is this what's best for baseball? This if you
decide to do this, that's not what's in Baseball's best interest,
because you have the example of what happens to you
if you bet on your sport. And now when you

(01:31:54):
betting's bigger than ever. I mean you'll see you'll go
to the bullpen like, hey, we got the lefty warming
up in the bullpen. They'll be big bet MGM sign
right next to him or right behind him, like betting's everywhere.
But the thing is they've never relaxed the punishments for
betting on your sport. Just because we have draft kings
and fan duel all this stuff, and you'll see it

(01:32:16):
in the signage and the outfielder. It doesn't mean that
baseball is like hey, players and managers, go ahead, bet
on or against your team. That no, none of that
has ever changed. And it's more important than ever that
you have that example of what can happen to you
if you break the rules. So what message does it

(01:32:36):
send to your players, to your managers if you reinstate him,
if he's off the ineligible list, it sends a bad
message that hey, we're relaxing some of our punishments. That's
not what you want to do. That's not in baseball's
best interest.

Speaker 5 (01:32:51):
And the thing that the reason why, by the way
that you would argue, could not include a man because
to your point, Brian, the punishments to be severe if
you bet in your own sport. It's not that that
betting is inherently bad, right, It's that you don't want

(01:33:12):
your sport to have any whiff of integrity. Issues on
the field, right, And like this is why the punishments
are so grand, because when we watch a sporting of that.
We're gonna watch a lot of sports today, and I'll
tell you what. There are times in college basketball, I'm like,
this game is fixed, like I think it in my head,
even though I know it's like players, no crack, come on,

(01:33:33):
like the players do things. I'm like.

Speaker 12 (01:33:36):
That, Like, really, that's that's your basketball. Players played forty
games this season. That's well, I know, of course it's
not fixed though, right, it's not fixed, right, I know that.
I know that, and I still think on my head
sometimes that number and landed right on the number there
that foul the end of the game. They really need

(01:33:57):
that foul, but they got the foul.

Speaker 5 (01:33:58):
You know, imagine if it was as fixed as we
think in our brain, we wouldn't watch the game as much, right,
we wouldn't care about the results. So you can't have
your game under constant threat of integrity issues. And that
is the argument against Pete Rose being in the Hall
of Fame is if we let him on in the

(01:34:18):
Hall of Fame, we're acknowledging that we're okay with blatant
breaking of the golden rule, don't wage during the game
and don't ruin the integrity of our sports. So that's
why I think, you know, the leagues are so hard
against guys who gamble, even if it's John day Porter,
a guy that I'm not sure it doesn't even new existed,
or whether it's the Fresno State kids. I mentioned that

(01:34:40):
we're betting on their player. Prop unders. You don't want
to watch college basketball today, And again we all because
we just we watch sports. We think everything's fixed that
like we don't we don't want to actually happen right crack.
So that's why I think t you're so harsh on it.
And if you let Pete Rose in the Hall of
Fame again, I probably think you should be in. But
if you do let him in the Hall of Fame,

(01:35:01):
then the integrity of your game, I think it's questioned.
And that's where Baseball might say, like we're just not
doing it, even though I know there's pressure from the
president right now, I think to get him in the
Hall of Fame. That might you know, that obviously come
from the very top, that might put pressure on baseball
to make it happen.

Speaker 4 (01:35:17):
Yeah, you know, and I hear your other sides, both
of you guys saying that, and you know you're right
because of now what's happened in the NBA and these
other things. And I've been saying about this three letter
word that's been said at sportsbooks here in Las Vegas

(01:35:38):
in the thirty five years I've been coming here and
now lives here twenty one years. It's the biggest three
letter word.

Speaker 5 (01:35:44):
Fix.

Speaker 4 (01:35:45):
It's it's every week in the NFL and every single
casino that goes through people's heads. Because of course they
couldn't lose on their own. There has to be a
reason and the reason why because it was fixed and
they didn't know, they wish they were in on the fix. Well,
how'd that fix happened? For all these people that were
saying Kansas City games were fixed? How did that happen?

(01:36:05):
How that turn out in the Super Bowl? For their everybody?
You know, I'm a little bit tougher on that on
that word fix. I just think these guys make so
much money. But then again, you see a guy with
a one hundred million dollar contract just to being questioned
now in the NBA, and and you know the Porter stuff,
there's just just there's just been so many situations going

(01:36:25):
back from back when the Mob guys with Boston, Boston
College in Arizona. You know, this is back thirty forty
fifty years ago. You know Henry Hill and what he
said with the guy from Goodfellas. But so I get it.
There's there's instances and stuff, and yeah, I do understand
that it's a miss. But aren't we taught from being

(01:36:49):
a kid that you know, you make mistakes and you
pay for your mistakes and eventually you're forgiven or just
for forever. I know. Look, I know you see Shoeless
Joe and nineteen nineteen with the Black Sox scandal, I
get it. And she was showed even though he did
so good in that World series, you know, his career
was never the same and then you know he literally

(01:37:11):
was the whole team was penalized for that, including him.
So I get it, I get it. I do. Maybe
I just have a more of a personal feeling for Pete. Yeah,
and I sat down with him and talked to him,
and uh, but I know one thing. A lot of
the old timers, a lot of my friends now maybe
because they're gamblers. I'll tell you what. Even the knock
around guys back home, back in New York and Jersey.

(01:37:33):
But I'm referring to the guys down south and guys
that don't even know each other. I don't know anyone personally,
and I know a lot of people that that have
an opinion on this matter. I don't know any of
them that say, Peach, no, I shouldn't be in It's
it's you young it's you young kids that think, well.

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
It's it's betting's bigger than ever right now. And that's
the thing. I think. You have to remove yourself from
whatever your vantage point is. Put yourself in the shoes
of Rob Manfred. You are the commissioner of Major League Baseball.
You're not Bill Krackenberger right now. You are Rob Manfred.
And I'll tell you I had a job years ago

(01:38:11):
and I'll never forget it. One of my friends, he
was talking about one of our managers, and he said,
someone has to be the a hole, you know, someone
has to be the adult in the room that makes
an adult decision that might not be popular at all.
And that's what Rob Manfred has to do right here.

Speaker 4 (01:38:26):
He might.

Speaker 2 (01:38:27):
I wouldn't be surprised if he takes him off the
ineligible list. But if he's doing what's best for baseball,
he remains on the ineligible list because he is the
example of what can happen to you should you bet
on baseball, And that's good for baseball. That is good
in this day and age of gambling being everywhere, you

(01:38:48):
do not want the integrity of your games and your
product ever to be questioned, and so you have to
have it in the minds of everybody. This is what
can happen to you. He turned into the exam. He's
the poster child of what can happen to you if
you do what he did. And to remove that is
not in baseball. It's the best interest. In my opinion,

(01:39:08):
I would leave him on that ineligible list if I'm
rabbed man for it. That's exactly what I would do.

Speaker 4 (01:39:13):
My buddy just texts something. He's listening to us. He says,
I think Pete and his family suffered a big enough
punishment for betting already thirty five years of ridicule and
embarrassment for it. And yes, wherever Pete went that was mentioned.
Maybe not to his face, of course, but that was mentioned.
And it is all these years of ridical and when

(01:39:33):
does it end or does it not end? Is that
just it? I mean?

Speaker 5 (01:39:36):
But isn't that also to Brian's point, if we're talking
about a de tyrant to do this, isn't that also like, Hey,
your family suffers, and that's not fair to the family members.
They're innocent, of course, But the fact is, like, if
you're a guy who's about to do this, you think yourself.
You know, I'd imagine the players that are cheating the

(01:39:56):
game are selfish and they're not probably thinking about their families.
But is the thought like, hey, I don't want to
do this because my what it would be the stain
of my family? But if you let him back in,
does the more attention get drawn to him?

Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
You know?

Speaker 5 (01:40:08):
Like I feel like now that he's passed, I don't know,
there might not be as much attention drawing to him.
But yes, his family is they're innocent in this. Of course,
they had nothing to do with this. I'm curious what
happens here. I don't And then if he is if
he is given makes you re a statement? Does the

(01:40:29):
Veterans Committee put him in the Hall of Fame? They
don't guarantee you goes to the Hall of Fame By
the way if he if he gets released.

Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
That would be crazy. He was eligible, and well.

Speaker 5 (01:40:38):
The Veterans Committee has to do it. I mean, there's
he's passed. I think I don't think he's going to
be obviously voted in the recreditional way. There's a veterans
committee that LEO votes in players that are passed their
ten years of eligibility. That's what that's all always thought. Barry,
Bonds and Clemens would would get in eventually as the
Veterans Committee would let him in. So I'm kind of
curious how that process would work for Pete Rose.

Speaker 2 (01:41:00):
They'd have to because at that point it would just
be his baseball credentials, you know, if the you know,
the gambling stuff was essentially removed. Hey, I'll be honest
with you, I think the odds are better than not
that Rob Manfred takes him off the ineligible list, because
I think he could look at this and say, you
know what, it's been long enough. Think about Reggie Bush
and the ineligible benefits, right, and now it's the nil era.

(01:41:25):
Things have changed. He could look at it like that
and say it's been long enough to cracks point. If
I were him, I wouldn't do it because I think
it's in baseball's best interest to keep him right there.
That's he's the example, and that's what you need with
you know, bet MGM in the center field.

Speaker 4 (01:41:42):
You know, that's the end of our breakfast together.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
No, I'm dead to crack now. All right, we've got
Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz eight year NFL veteran.
I'm Brian.

Speaker 3 (01:41:55):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
Use code countdown at bet MGM and receive up to

you don't win your first bet. All right, coming up next,
one major domino is in place. What do a couple
of teams that didn't land the domino do? Now we'll investigate.

have time for ball. Always time for ball, even in
the offseason. But Matthew Stafford, he's back with the Rams.

(01:43:00):
Restructured his contracts.

Speaker 4 (01:43:02):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:43:02):
Always smells like ball over here on countdown. But Matthew
Stafford not going anywhere. Restructured contract, staying with the Rams.
It makes sense for both sides. You know, he had
discussions with the Giants, discussions with the Raiders and then
was like the.

Speaker 4 (01:43:18):
Ross I did I wanted them here?

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
And yeah, uprooting the family for these rosters. I maybe
restructuring makes the most sense. He stays with the Rams,
so I that's not a shocker. I guess where did
the Giants and the Raiders go from here?

Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Geezus?

Speaker 5 (01:43:35):
So this was the Rams. I think wanting to see
the market. I think matt Stafford was like, hey, I
want this amount of money. The Rams are like, oh boy,
I don't know if that's what we can do that
And then they went out and like here's the offers
we got, and the rams like, oh, well cool. I mean, look,
this is what Lamar Jackson did last year with the

(01:43:55):
franchise Dow. The Rayments were like, go find us the
market and we'll pay you, but we just want to
know what we're paying his fair value because the Rams
letting mass that for walk never made any sense to
me unless it was a difference of like we want
to give you, you know, forty and some almost give
you sixty. And then the Rams are like, all right,
well see you later, buddy. There's no numbers out yet, right,

(01:44:15):
I haven't seen numbers out yet.

Speaker 4 (01:44:16):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
That's so strange.

Speaker 4 (01:44:17):
Right.

Speaker 5 (01:44:17):
It was reported that he wanted two years about one
hundred million guaranteed in the next contract. So the most
sense happened here. The Giants want Aaron Rodgers. Now, that's
who they're going to pivot.

Speaker 4 (01:44:31):
I heard that.

Speaker 5 (01:44:32):
Yes, that's absolutely true. By the way, that's that's their
pivot is Aaron Rodgers. They think he's the best guy
available for the job the Giants. Aaron Rodgers personality does
not fit that of a Giants quarterback. I'll tell you
that would have had over the years. So that fit
to me. Obviously, you have a coaching staff and Brian
Dable and Joe Shane the GM that half the way

(01:44:55):
they're being fired and they do. You think Rogers that
best option right now? Which makes sense. I think if
you look at the free Jim market, because you're not
going to pay a lot for Sam Donald, probably the
Raiders to me, that's who they turn to is Sam Donald. Now, look,
I cam Ward the Miami quarterback might go one overall,
should dear Sanders might go next quarterback, But they're just

(01:45:17):
I don't think they're gonna be that good in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
What would you want, Jeff, if you were part of
that organization, would you want Donald or would you want
Shadu or Sanders?

Speaker 5 (01:45:31):
Well, that's good question. I think that Donald is what
he is, and you can convince yourself that Shoulder has
more upside as a young player and a cheaper and
cheaper player.

Speaker 2 (01:45:45):
Definitely cheaper. There's no denying that.

Speaker 5 (01:45:48):
That's where I need out on that one. Brian, I
think it's a Donald. Look. I I just don't buy
like redeption stories in the NFL at quarterback as your
future general. Last year a good offensive line, good to
good to great offensive line, upper class offensive line had
Justin Jefferson, Jordia Addison, Hawkinston good good, you know, good

(01:46:10):
tight ends, good play caller, good defense. Now you're gonna
make him go to Vegas with that group around him,
and I think it's gonna be the same play he
was last season. Like no, I'd rather have than than
I think then than than not. So that's why I
think I leaned shadr here Crack.

Speaker 4 (01:46:28):
Yeah, you know that that was the talk here was
Donald's and you know he he did have a great season,
but he makes some good points. You know, most people
don't put that in. They just think about the player.
They don't think about the team that was around him
that made him that great look like that great and
that he had a great season, like I said, that
great quarterback. So that's interesting to take that into effect.

(01:46:50):
And I'll tell you you know, I didn't want Donald.
I was when I heard about this situation in l A.
I was like, Oh, we got a shot to get him.
Can the Raiders four to fifty million a year for
a quarterback? Yeah? I guess so, But I guess we're
going to be. I mean, who else is there, you

(01:47:12):
know available? You know, I heard of these all these
different things. I was reading Chip Kelly's I was reading
something on him when he came over here when he signed,
I was reading like what his opinion was. He kind
of stayed out of it a little bit. But you know,
I'm just glad we're not going to get Rogers and
I used to love Rogers. I just don't want I

(01:47:33):
don't want any headaches. I don't want them drama. Let
him stay over there where I'm sure he bought a
place because he was with the Jets. Let him stay there.
And yeah, you know, Darnold had a great season. Like
I said, those last couple of games, though, they really turned.
They stunk those those last couple of games just stunk
by Minnesota. I don't know, they just didn't perform well.

(01:47:54):
But they overachieved. Listen, we had them over six and
a half wins. We had them to make the playoffs,
made a lot of money on And that's the main
thing for me. There's no there's no real, real, you know, uh,
personal reason why I would want Donald here. But I
would like to make the Raiders a better team, a
competitive team, a playoff team again, and well we'll see

(01:48:17):
what happens here. We we have a what do we
have about seven weeks to the to the drafts or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:48:22):
So yeah, yeah, happens, Yeah, roughly a little more, a
little more than that. Well, no, yeah, you're about right,
you're about right. Yeah, pretty close.

Speaker 4 (01:48:29):
Cool. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:48:29):
That's the thing with Donald is look man, like you said,
crack those last two games. You know, Week eighteen, home field,
number one seed on the line, got to go to
Detroit and he was a deer in headlights. Man had
some wide open receivers for easy touchdowns and just overthrew them,
just overcooked it, pass after pass and the playoff loss

(01:48:50):
to the Rams. So it's just a disaster. I don't
know how many times I yelled at my TV, get
rid of the football, Like he's just standing there looking
at the rushers come right in on him and take
him down so many sacks. That's hard. And that's to
Jeff's point. With a great supporting cast, you know, like
what happens Now he goes to the Raiders and you

(01:49:11):
don't have the same offensive line, you don't have the
same weapons, You certainly don't have the same defense. I
see a lot of Geno Smith and Sam Darnold.

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:49:19):
Gino started with the Jets, had a week supporting cast,
took years for him to get another crack at it,
and then boom, instant payoff, instant success with Seattle. Where
has it gone from there? You know, like your supporting
cast matters. We say this all the time with Brock Purdy.
It's not to just hate on Purdy or Sam Darnald.
Purdy is a good quarterback. He's just not a difference

(01:49:41):
maker in my opinion, when you pay him a boatload
of money and have to skimp elsewhere on the roster,
I don't think he's that guy to compensate for that.
I think the same thing with Sam Darnald to a
greater extent. So yeah, I would not. I'd not be
looking to pay him big money with multiple years. This
is he's graduated from where Minnesota got him. This isn't

(01:50:03):
a hey, we'll give you one year, ten million dollar contract.
We'll kick the tires on you. See how you do. No,
you're investing in him, You're committing to him, sure, And
that's not a commitment I would make. If I'm the Raiders,
I would go with Shadu or I'd go rookie quarterback.
I'd go that right. I'll tell you what other route
I would go to real fast, Jeff is the Ilow route, right,

(01:50:25):
I'd absolutely commit to the Isaac lowen Kron route. You
can't go wrong taking that highway. I low with the latest, Why,
thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:50:35):
I'm just making sure there's no traffic on the route.
Everything is all good, but there's a lot of traffic
in and out of the lineups for today's marquee NBA
matchup with Chips off at one pm Eastern. The Boston
Celtics hosting Denver in a matchup between the last two
NBA champions. Celtics head coach Joe Mizzoula said moments ago
that Jalen Brown will play today. Bron had been questionable

(01:50:55):
due to right knee pain. Drew Holliday will not play
because of a right hand injury. Chris STAPs for Zingis
remains out due to illness. For Denver, Aaron Gordon a
game time decision due to a sprained left ankle. The
Chicago Bulls announced this morning that guard Io Dossumo will
need season ending left shoulder surgery in the NFL, the
San Francisco forty nine Ers reportedly agreed to trade receiver

(01:51:17):
Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders for a fifth round
draft pick. The earliest the trade can become official is
on March twelfth. At ESPN reported on Saturday, the Major
League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred is considering a request to
remove Pete Rose from Baseball's ineligible list. Rose passed away
last September at the age of eighty three. The petition

(01:51:38):
for reinstatement was made by Rose's family. No word yet
on if all of this was planned over a delicious
breakfast at the Black Bear Diner, Vegas's best kept secret
baby shout out to the vegetarian omelet, which justifies getting
a biscuit with it.

Speaker 4 (01:51:56):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (01:51:58):
Yeah, absolutely, than I Lo. It's Fox Sports Radios Countdown
presented by BETMGM. I've been to that diner before. Cracked
very good. It's great, very nice, great good stuff.

Speaker 4 (01:52:08):
Chrislo knows that. I guess because they're they started in California.
They probably have them up in there.

Speaker 7 (01:52:14):
There's one on there's one unventure of Boulevard not far
from our studio. I've been there several times.

Speaker 2 (01:52:19):
It's very nice, a very good diner, by the way.
Pretty good NBA slate today. Huh, you got Nuggets, Celtics,
t Wolve, Sons, Clippers, Lakers. I'm just I don't know
how much the Clippers win by today. That's the only question.

Speaker 4 (01:52:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
What is it like? Two? Is it three? Is it
more than that? That's that's the only question in my
head is how much did the Clippers win by against
the Lakers? And they're not front court. Jeff, do you
have the same question in your Yeah, I do it.

Speaker 5 (01:52:49):
It's tough. The Lakers are probably probably get blowed out.
I would I would imagine today.

Speaker 4 (01:52:55):
Wow, you know the the only two and a half
in the country is that? Is that? Betem? By the way,
it's three everywhere. I mean, I have one hundred sportsbooks
on my live screen. It's kind of interesting how they happen.

Speaker 2 (01:53:06):
That's got to drive you crazy, Crack. I know you're
not big on NBA sides, but seriously, like a player
props the total when you have to go late in
the day. Right now, it's like Lebron's game time decision.
Luke at game time decision just kind of shrug your shoulders.
It's kind of important to know as a gambler, like
who's playing and who isn't.

Speaker 4 (01:53:26):
Oh yeah, and you know what, there's guys that just
sit at this screen the entire time because they know
this is going to be a decision at some time
before the game, and this game, because it's such a
key player, this will move again three points. So there's
actually a couple of sportsbooks that actually have it off
the board right now, but yeah, three everywhere in the

(01:53:48):
world except for betmgms. Matter of fact, I'm willing to
say bet MGM's the Yes, they're the only two nineteen
and a half on the game too. So kind of
interesting how they have it at half point lower than
market on both the side and the total. Does this
Christian know something we don't know when he's not telling us.

Speaker 2 (01:54:07):
He wouldn't do that to us us, Right, We've got
Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL
veteran betting on combined forty times. You know, we should
have offensive alignment on that one.

Speaker 5 (01:54:22):
We definitely should know. I got other I got some
other wagers that I've been I've been fire a little
hockey today. We got golf stuff late this afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Okay, we're gonna we're gonna get some picks from you

Speaker 5 (01:54:33):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:54:33):

Rapid fire.

Speaker 2 (01:55:54):
All right, crack, we start with you. What's something you like.

Speaker 4 (01:55:57):
I'm gonna stick with that. Boston p North Florida. Let's
let's go under in the first half MGM seventy four
and a half under first half.

Speaker 5 (01:56:06):
Okay, well, look, got to make that wager now too
as well. I like the Calgary Flames over half a
goal in the first period minus one oh five. They've
been shut out two straight games. Could c only be three,
but I like Calgary to get on the board in
the first first period today. Also, Michael Kim to win

(01:56:28):
the golf tournament today at plus four fifty. I think
he's a decent wager. He's been very consistent this season
basically when he is shot especially, shot nearly the same
for every round of every tournament, and he's shot really
low the first three rounds. I think he shoots low
again today and ends up winning. His one shot back

(01:56:51):
the guy who's leading right now. We shot a fifty
nine in round one. That's why he's winning in seventy
sixty eight. Bad, So Kim plus four to fifty to win.

Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
There you go, Okay, nice before I go crack, just
real quick, just picking your gambling brain over here. If
you look at North Florida, the total for the game
you're on the under, and also in the first half
you're on the under. What, let's say this game specifically
or another game, what will it come down to for you,
whether you're on the full game under or the first

(01:57:21):
half under.

Speaker 4 (01:57:22):
Man, I'd love to go under on all my unders
in games, and I think it's a great idea to
do that. So you know, only because I got like
we said earlier in the show, it's a pure number.
It's without fouling, without any it's it's just a pure number.
I would like the four, but that yeah, yeah, seventy four.

(01:57:43):
Oh that's bet MGM. Yep, under seventy four and a
half bet MGM. But yeah, No. I actually do like
unders in general more than overs anyway, especially first half,
but usually not a big market like right now. Even
if I used all my outs, I could not get
any big money down on these on this first half.
So it's just that's just, it is what it is.

(01:58:04):
It's a limited market, especially extra games, even though it's
a conference game.

Speaker 2 (01:58:09):
Okay, I'll throw my pick in there before Cracks played
the day. Not a whole lot of mystery here, Jeff,
it's the Clippers. It's minus two and a half. You're
getting a discount at bet MGM. I've entered this bet already.
Go Clippers take down these fugaes Lakers and their lack
of a front court. I love Lebron, love Luca. They've
got some good role players, they can shoot the three.

(01:58:31):
They've been defending better, but they've mostly played sucky teams.
I don't buy them come to postseason, and I don't
buy them today. Vitsa zoobots eats eats today.

Speaker 5 (01:58:40):
Losing your money just because you despised my Lakers series, just.

Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
As I like, I don't despise them. I just I
despise that they don't have a front court. That's all.
It's not anything personal, it's they don't have a front court.
Gotta have bigs, sorry, gotta have big especially in the West.
All Right, we've got time for this. Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:58):
This is the best the deck, all.

Speaker 2 (01:59:02):
Right, crack, what is it?

Speaker 4 (01:59:03):
Man? Yeah, we're gonna go with the same unit size too.
We're not gonna go crazy here. I'm gonna do the
same thing with the Stetson Central Arkansas game under sixty
five and a half bet MGM, Central Arkansas Stetson somewhere
in Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:59:18):
That's right midway, but yeah from uh and the land
be the land. Let's call it the land over here.

Speaker 4 (01:59:29):
Yeah. Yeah. These conference games, these conference games, uh, and
this goes for for even first round of March Madness.
We'll have a lot of fun with this. Uh. They
come out a little bit tight, these players a lot
of times. So uh, I'm really talking about tight in
the Big Dance. But even these conference games, a lot
of these kids get to only play this for one
time in their life. This is their world series. Uh,

(01:59:52):
they may come out a little bit tighter that That's
been the trend over the years. And sure, you know so.
So I like I like under especially first Halsh.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
I love the excitement of championship week, especially with these
lower conferences, where you gotta win your conference championship or
you're not going dancing.

Speaker 4 (02:00:09):
That's right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:00:10):
Yeah, yeah, there's so much on the line. I do
hate it for the teams that have been the class
of the entire season or they might get tripped up.
But hey man, the beauty is it does provide a
ton of excitement with bids on the line. All anybody,
enjoy the hoops today and we'll catch it very soon.
Have a great day.
