Speaker 1 (00:38):
Good morning, Jeff, Good morning Crack.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Good to be with you guys, as always, So morning
the Nuggets. The Nuggets got by the Clippers yesterday and
Game seven smacked them around one by nineteen points. Another
dud for the Beard. James Harden. I don't know what
it is with Game seven's, man, he scored seven points
on eight shots. It's not gonna get it. Numbers were there,

(01:01):
the points were not, and the Clippers whimper out yet again.
The Nuggets went on a seventeen oh run to begin
the second half, Like how do you come out of
halftime when it's an eleven point game and then they
go on a seventeen oh run. It's like your season's
on the line. How does that happen? But here we

(01:22):
are again with the Clippers. Man, it's another song in
the long chapters of disappointment.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Here, Jeff I should have been on James Hard to
go under his points. I was not thinking because that's
an obvious games haven play. He again did not show up,
and to be fair, the rest of his team did
not not quiet had a bunch of points early in
the game, and then the fourth quarter turned into backups.
I mean, I think the Clippers call off the dogs too.

(01:48):
I had a Chris Dunn under points, rebounds and assists
that look great until he played seventeen minutes. Now I
got it by half a point, So I'm glad I
made the right wager there. But yeah, it was. It
was a dud, and it made up for the the
Avalanche last night. If you're a Colorado sports fan, that
was a little bit. That was a little bit tough.

(02:09):
So nonetheless, you know, the Nuggets get it done. If
you bet the Clippers yesterday, you bet on a team
that is the Clippers. I just would never put my
money on the Clippers in Game seven, Crack, and exactly
what I thought could happen happened. And the only thing
I'll say too is the under in that game was

(02:30):
right on track. And then the backup scored seven thousand
points in the fourth quarter ran as usual like it's
it's like in college basketball, the backups come in and
zero points are scored. If you have the under in
a blowout, it's like, great, they're gonna score four points
in the final three minutes. In the NBA, these backups
come in and just start raining three pointers down. It

(02:51):
is wild. And the highest scoring quarter was the fourth
quarter last night, And so that that was a little
a little bit of a bummer there, Crack, but nonetheless
not terribly surprised by the result last night. I scored
a little bit more than I thought it would be there,
we thought they.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Were Yeah, guys, I uh boy, I tell you, I'm
taking some bad, bad last quarter beats here, a little
little salting my voice here, Sorry, you gotta. I've had
some late nights screaming and yelling.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
So the hockey GroE last night, the hockey one last
night was that I I if you had the under
last night, I would I retiring from sports wager and
could be an option if you had the under. In
the hockey game last night, it's one nothing entering the

(03:43):
third period in a game where the Dallas Stars had
like twelve shots on goal in the first two periods,
like just not even existing in a war where they
can score. Final score four to two went over, I I, I.
It's just that's why I build those towers in Vegas,
isn't it. Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:01):
That that that that hurt me for sure. And you know,
if people don't know hockey, how hard is it they
get five goals in one even uh period? Ryan, I
never text Brian about bad beats. I actually text him
last night and said, Brian, I just had one of
the worst beats in my life. And I never talked

(04:22):
like that. Nobody takes a loss better than me. Not
only is it an eight thousand dollars swing, it just
bothered the heck out of me because I actually, my
buddy Randy was pretty sharp and hockey. He gave me
the dog. He said, listen, they're betting too much money
on Colorado. He said, it's kind of a correlated parlay
here to bet dog and under. But I had, you know,

(04:44):
I had a lot of money on the under, but
I also had a peanut parlay, and uh it just
it was two to one. They're lose. When I said,
all right, it's okay, no big deal. I should be
a nice little win here with the under. Even if
it goes to to I could. I could afford the
goal and three to two finals fine, And then had
to go to four to two, I mean five goals

(05:05):
last quarter. Not usually complaining about about bad beats, but
that was a bad one. Let's go back to the
Nuggets game. What a great Game seven series, even though
it was a boring blowout, there was a lot of
hype for the Clippers going to these playoffs. Denver's playoff
experience home court held as they move on to Oklahoma,

(05:28):
Oklahoma City. It's still crazy to me that the Nuggets
fired their coach, Mike Malone's free games before the regular
season was over. This team obviously has championship caliber. Malonea
won a championship with them. Rumors are that the relationship
between Malone and the GM, you know, came to a head.
So I just think, if you let them finish the playoffs,

(05:50):
don't fire him after. If you want give some credit
to the interim coach there ad On then for winning
this first series. Let's see what they do again. It's
the number one seat thunder though the next week.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, well that's the thing, man.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
It's funny like the first part of it is like
you said, crack. It's it's how you look at the
series where it looks like, oh my gosh, the Nuggets
crushed him in Game seven. It wasn't as close of
a series as it appeared to be. It really depends
on how you look at it, because you could go
back to Game four when the Clippers had this furious comeback,

(06:25):
tied the game up, and then the next thing, you know,
looks like it's for sure going into overtime, and Jokics
just jacks up a desperation shot and Aaron Gordon just
comes paragliding in from the rafters to dunk it home.
It was the first buzzer beater dunk in NBA playoff history,

(06:47):
and it's like, that's how close it was. They forced
the game seven, and then it's just disappointment season, disappointment
City all all over again for the Clippers. They just
invent ways to let you down. It's remember like Philip
Rivers with the Chargers. Where on the sideline he just
said bad news Bears. One time, it's like the I
forget what happened. It was against the Raiders and it

(07:07):
was like the I think it was the holder of
a field goal attempt just dropped the ball and Philip
Rivers was like, bad news Bears. The Chargers just invented
ways to lose. And that's what the Clippers are. They're
the same thing. They just invent ways to lose. But
the Nuggets move on, they face the Thunder and man,

(07:27):
the defense that each team plays is night and day.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
The Clippers.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
I'm sorry the Nuggets defense they flashed at times against
the Clippers in this series, but the Thunder are on
a much different level. Thunder have much more depth. I
just you have Jokic, the best player in the world.
It's gonna be fun with Jokic and SGA the MVP candidates.
But team versus team like Oklahoma City brings so much

(07:52):
more to the table in this series.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
And the Nuggets are gonna be particulably tired, right, I mean,
now you have it's it goes back to what every
other day.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Now.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
I think for the rest of the playoffs to at
least the NBA Finals, so they have the rest advantage here,
home court advantage you saw earning that game too. But
about the defense, Brian, the Clippers were getting a lot
of looks underneath of the basket. They had guys that
were cutting from baseline to the hoop, guys open as
you know, they were dribble driving and getting in there.
So I don't know what the series prices, I haven't

(08:25):
looked up this morning yet. Eight wow. I mean that's
more than the the Boston seven to one against against
the Knicks. So but you look, you can bet exact
series result, you know, four to one OKC, four to two,
something might be worth taking a look at there you
get some better numbers on on those. But yeah, look,

(08:47):
it feels like we're destined for OKAC to win that series.
And I think it's gonna kill the Nuggets. Is this
those minutes when Yoki is on the bench. Yes, it's
gonna it's gonna kill him in this series. And they
tried various times in the Clipper series to have him
to shore in that rest up. I mean even last night.

(09:07):
His rest between the first quarter and second quarter usually
it's six minutes, right, it's that first media timeout in
the second quarter. They put him back in the game.
Last night, it was three minutes like that. You know,
it was like the And I think that the more
you do that over an entire series, obviously, I think
you get Jokicic more tired and you rely on him
too much. And yesterday was a great show him. But
the Nuggets of not having to rely on him, right,

(09:29):
did other guys step up last night? I think we
had fourteen points, but he of course, he didn't really
play the fourth quarter. That's the way the Nuggets have
to be. Like, it's Okac, but it's those minutes where
he's on the court. I mean, Ken Westbrook, I don't
I don't see it against this defense at OKC. And

(09:49):
that's that's why I can say I think it could
be ugly series.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Well you have to, uh, I just I'm sorry, guys.
I was just looking to see if the if MGM
had had those up yet they have the eighth to one.
On god, I can't lay eight the one on no, no, no,
I just can't. I Mean, this is the NBA, it's
it's anything can happen. But my god, I gotta lay
eight the one I was looking for those exact games here.
I guess it's a little too early for that. I

(10:15):
don't know correct series is all. I did find it, okay, good, Yeah, yeah,
yeah I did, I did find it. Okay. Yeah. So
for one thunder you get plus one eighty five. Yeah,
four to oh take four to one. But I mean
it's tough to win two games on the road.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
The sweep would be shocking. I feel like, I feel
like that would be that would be a surprise. And
you know, even I mean, okay, soe even had that
game against who's even playing for that now where they
just had that coasting game where you coat against Denver,
You're probably gonna lose, as what I would imagine, So yeah,
I would imagine that. Look, all I know is I'm
I don't have to watch the Lakers anymore. I'm surprised

(10:53):
Brian didn't start with that. I was didn't do that.
I don't have to watch that team anymore. Play unfortunately
the way so or fortunately because they're watching the last
four minutes of every game was not the most fun
of your Lakers fan.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Man.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Yeah, that was crash and burn City. Man, that was
trust me, We'll carve out some time in this show.
You know, to give the what's the what would be
the opposite of you know, you give someone their flowers,
you give a team, you got to give them what's
the opposite? For the Lakers, what are we giving them
that's the opposite of their flowers?

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I'm not sure you have a bag of pooh. I
don't know what is I don't know what is it.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
You know, I think that makes sense. What you threw
out there definitely makes sense.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Like, yeah, it feels like that's what that's what it
would be, right, I mean, yeah, I don't even think
by the way that the big men thin had anything
to do with the reason why they lost a series.
They just they don't have any depth that really caught
up to them. And maybe that is the big guy thing, Brian,
but they just didn't have any depth. And I don't
even mind. You know, everyone's killing JJ Redick for playing

(11:57):
those guys in the entire second half. It was calculated risk,
like he had to do it very clearly. It didn't
it didn't pay off. It worked for the Nuggets when
Gordon had the tip in dunk and that game when
they played Yokas entire second half. It just didn't work
out well for the Lakers in that moment.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Yeah yeah, Hey, we'll get to it because he had
a couple of calculated risks that did not pay off whatsoever.
And it is open season on JJ Reddick. You know
his stock is plummeting right now based on the last
two games. But we'll definitely carve out some time next
hour for that to not give them their flowers, but

(12:35):
give the Lakers their bag of pooh.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
I guess I don't know what's the opposite of that.
I feel I feel like we need to give the
hockey game the third period last night the bag as well.
That we'll talk about this, I would imagine at some
point later day. But I'll tell you what one are
the better bets you can make right now and this
time of year I found out. I know what you're say,

(12:59):
is uh. I hope you do. But is empty net
goal in hockey? I Brian, I've been talking talking about
every day. Also, I'm gonna put a bit my parlay
platter play will be one of these hockey wagers I like,
but like last night, the Stars to have empty net goal,

(13:19):
I bet both sides plus four hundred to have an
empty net goal. The Avalanche were plus two seventy. And
we have empty net goals in almost all these If
the game does not go to ot, we're going to
have empty net goal. It's the playoffs. Like there was
an empty net for four minutes last night. Now they
didn't score with the last eight seconds. I mean it
took a little bit of time. But these teams have

(13:39):
empty nets for four minutes. Like empty net goal. You
can get either. You can get just to score an
empty net goal, period plus money or individual teams like tonight,
I will be on the Jets. Is scoring empty net goal?
I'll tell you right now.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
It's not now. The number doesn't come up yet. It
won't be up now, be up closer to to puck
drop tonight. But those wagers man like and wait, they
they used to put them up like in the morning,
and I keep waiting to put him up till like
you they hope you don't notice. I bet MGM and
bet Jim's on the only place that offers this exact bet.
You can't find it other places, guys. So I got
plus four hundred last night. Yeah, the starts scored empty

(14:14):
net goal.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Crack, what what was it? Last eight seconds? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, they got empty goal like on the
eight seconds left. Man, But it wasn't their first try,
Like they had multiple attempts to get the puck down
there in their first Like they probably had five shots
sort of at the net at one in the last
four minutes, and you know Colorado would bat it down
or miss the net. But like they have it's the playoffs,

(14:40):
Like they pulled a goalie sooner.

Speaker 4 (14:41):
Colorado was down free too, and they pulled the goal
with four minutes left.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Uh yeah, yeah, I mean like they have to. I
mean it might have been.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
It might have been like the minute and a half,
two minutes, it might.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Have been three minutes like that. They go early. They
have to score if a team is down two goals.
I mean, so there, it's been a very good wager
in the postseason. I think tonight the Jets will have
an empty net goal. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
That's the crazy thing is man. There was a face
off with maybe fifteen seconds to go. Yeah, So like
remember the old Wide World of Sports thing for ABC
where it's the thrill.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Of victory, agony.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Of defeat, And that's what it was, where if you're
on the under five and a half, bad, so you're
just counting the seconds down.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
They can't take off fast enough.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
But if you're looking for an empty net goal, you
know that that was as close to a buzzer beater
as you can get to get that empty netter.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
But man, that's wild.

Speaker 5 (15:38):
All right.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
I'm Brian No coming up next.

Speaker 2 (15:47):

which I would say are the two second best words
in sports, the best.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Two words in sports. I always say super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I mean, unless you think Warriors Rockets is better matchup
than the Super Bowls, And okay, whatever, be my guest.
I just go super Bowl at the top of my list,
our list, different, whatever, It's fine. But Game seven Warriors
taken on the Rockets. It's funny because if the Warriors win,
it's gonna be off the experience.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, the experience got them.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
If they lose, it's that they're kind of old, right,
Like it's the old Spurs thing, you know, like the
Tim Duncan Spurs. And it's similar with the Rockets. If
the Rockets went, oh, you know, energetic young legs. You know,
if they don't win, well, the inexperience caught up to them.
We'll just kind of fill in the blanks afterward. But
what's your, uh, your gut feeling on this, Jeff. We'll

(17:29):
start with you. You got a gut feeling in Warriors Rockets
game seven.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
The game six shocked me.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
I was shocked.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
You know, the Rockets are not supposed to win that game,
right They're a team that has not been here before.
They're a team that has youth right now, not everywhere.
I mean, look, Fred van Fleet is not youthful. He's
been that where he played great, But you're not supposed
to win a game. I thot on the road with
the team that hasn't done it before, and they dominated

(18:02):
the whole game, not dominate the wrong word, but every
time the Warriors would make a shot or two here
come back to the Rockets been a couple shots that
they They never give the Warriors an inch in that game,
and I was highly impressed. Now, I didn't know the
Chase Center got renamed the Morgue Center because that place
was as dead as could be. Like they were so
so uninterested in that game, the fans did. Even when

(18:25):
Steph Curry got going there kind of n a second quarter.
They looked dead, like. I didn't understand why the closeout
game felt that way. Maybe Houston was coming off that
vibe and they felt like they could go in and
win that game. I took Houston to win the series.
I think he was gonna win. To I, they're back home.
Role players play better at home. They defensively, they're doing great.

(18:49):
They're blitzing Steph Curry and saying, anyone else make shots,
anyone else makes shots. And I'm telling game seven, we're
gonna have like Buddy healed off zero points, gonna go
into Houston tonight and put up twenty two. You're gonna
have Moody And what's this? I can't ever have to
the left the Agentski who just can't make a shot
in any game end of this series. But I think

(19:11):
one game he played decently well, So crack. I lean
Houston here, I didn't they They they grind out of
wind and I know the total super low and you know,
you might be scared off of that based off of
what happened last night, but I do think this is
a very grinded out, you know, ninety five ninety two
win here.

Speaker 4 (19:28):
Speaking of a Jemski, yesterday decided to just take off
for a few hours and went to our cultural or
Polish festival here in Nice, which my wife and I
went with some neighbors who are Polish went with them
and it was just a I haven't really went I
have to admit it. It's I'm terrible. I've been enamored

(19:50):
and gambling and doing what I'm doing. I really haven't
went out my wife to a dale a day time
thing in a long time. It was a really nice time,
really homemade food. It was on believable here. So we
do have a little bit of culture here in Las
Vegas after all. But going back to this rockets where
you know, the rockets have been like swiping down steph
Current tinder thumb. The move is allowed though by the NBA,

(20:14):
as as long as the contact is made after the
shot is released. Now, uh, Steve Current, the Warriors want
that rule change, of course, do you uh do you
think that NBA should change the rule? I mean, uh,
I have to agree. I don't like it. I don't
like and I've seen That's why I don't like when
when I see that that's just I don't know, it

(20:35):
just it bothers me. When when it's not cheating, though
it almost the cheat. It's when you're you're you know,
you're trying to do anything else to change the game
around a little bit. Let's hope this game seven a
better game than than the Clippers Nuggets was. I think
it will be. Can the playoff experience? Uh of the
Warriors beat this young athletic Houston Rockets today. It's been

(20:58):
back and forth series and Theres have really looked like
the better team the last two games. And Uh, the
reason why I actually talk about to set it up
for this is because as far as that's swiping down
rule goes, though, I would think you'd have to look
at that this offseason. I think I think it should

(21:18):
be a foul if you make contact after the shot
is released, even but I'm not sure the NBA is
going to change that. But I know we we kind
of talked about this earlier in the season. It's a
different situation. But I don't know, what do you guys
think about that. I don't know. I think I think
it should be a foul even though the shot is released.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
I don't know. So I actually think they're not even
that he was not even the thing that they're most
upset about, right, Brian. I think that they're just they're
like they're pulling his hand, they're hitting his hand like
when off screens and like other stuff cracked. They're just
like mashing his hand Like it's like like we tries
to release, when a defenders on him as he goes
to release, they're just like they're keep hitting his hand
and and like that is legal. No, No, I think

(22:02):
it's not legal. But the argument is like, are you
gonna call it every time? It's sort of what we
see in the NFL, like defensive backs that hold every play.
You can call it every time, like you can call
every time, and then if you call it on Curry
or when you're defending Curry, you're gonna call when everyone
else gets hit in the hand or gets pulled or
grabbed or tugged in a way that really isn't legal.

(22:23):
I think that's the issue that the NBA gets into,
is like we're gonna call it every single time. That
feels like it's just not the right way to officiate
a game.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yeah, this was Dylan Brooks was asked about this a
little bit earlier in this series because he is the
prime suspect when it comes to swiping down. So think
of Steph Curry's got this injured thumb. It's probably about
I'd say my eighteen size is bigger than it normally
would be, right, Like it's all swollen and all messed
up on a shooting hand. So Steph Curry shoots the

(22:53):
shot and Dylan Brooks challenges the shot and then continues
to swipe down in this actual motion, so that.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
Yeah, that's where Steve Kerr is like, Hey, it's allowed,
but the NBA has got to change that going forward.
So Dylan Brooks was asked about that earlier in this series,
and this is how the back and forth sounded.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
Dylan, one of the Warriors broadcasters tonight, said he thought
you were intentionally trying to swipe down at Curry's thumb,
and Kerr was asked about it and said, it happens
around the league, that it's allowed by the rules. So
player throughout the league do that. What do you think
about that? No, I've been playing a game.

Speaker 4 (23:31):
Shoot.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
Uh, if you're gonna come play the game injured, you know,
if I had an injured ankle, I would attack that
ankle every single time. So whatever they're saying on the broadcast,
they can keep saying that.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
I don't have a problem with that.

Speaker 2 (23:48):
If it's allowed, then you should be swiping down and
targeting his thumb. But to Steve Curr's point going forward,
you gotta change that. You got to protect your players,
especially your rock stars like Steph Curry. You can't up
guys legally smacking him on the hand after he shoots
a shot.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
If it's unnatural, it should be penalized.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
I get that it's difficult for the officials to maybe
catch it live, but I think you should be able
to use.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
Replay on that.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
I think it's similar to if you shoot a shot
and you kick your legout unnaturally, or if you're a
defender and you're standing in the landing zone of a
shooter right like that the old Kawhi Leonard play where
he came down wrong.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
And that has been changed. So sometimes you have to
rely on replay.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
But I think that it shouldn't take long to review that.
And then also it's one of these deals where I
think it should be sort of like a flagrant one.
You know, if you do that, if you're swiping down
in an unnatural motion, I think it should be two
free throws in the ball because you gotta protect your shooters.
Some of these shooters are the rock stars of the NBA.
Can you imagine the NFL being like, ah, yeah, target

(24:55):
the quarterback, it's within the rules, like hit him in
his knees right after he throws the ball.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
No way would they do that.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
So I think the NFL, the NFL has all obviously
protect the quarterback. It just feels like it's harder to
do in the NBA to protect Steph Curry. It absolutely
like it's gonna make it. Uh. You know, we we
want less reviews, and this feels like it's gonna clog
everything up, which I don't think anyone wants. But if
it protects your best players, I think you want to

(25:26):
have it. I just don't trust like reviews to just
do it quoe unquote do it right. I don't like that.
That's the issue I have is I just don't trust
the system to just make it as clean as possible
so we don't have to sit there through tons of reviews,
because right now the review process does drag down the
end of these games. I don't really under I just don't.

(25:46):
I've had this bee for a while. I you know,
why review something with a minute fifty nine? You wouldn't
review it twoh one. I don't like that idea. Like
to me, it's equally as important and these NBA just
by the way, just take the most atrocious challenges.

Speaker 4 (26:03):
Why.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
I don't know if it is it because they just
don't care. They want to turn on any ways. I
don't know, because you you're like, there's six minutes in
the first quarter, why you challenge it added a bounce
play bigger staff, I don't, I don't know what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
And they lost it.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
It's got to be clear cut because if you miss you,
if your review is not overturned, that's it for the game.
So you better be sure it's gonna go your way.
And yeah, some of these coaches completely screw it up.
I just think with the Curry swipe down thing, that's
one thing I get it.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
Trust me.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
I don't trust replay to be succinct and quick with it.
But you should review this one two maybe three times
to be like he's swiping down in an unnatural way.
That's basically a flagrant one, right and on with life.

Speaker 1 (26:52):
So if they can do that quickly, I'm all for it.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
I do.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
Is that something that like that a sky judgessentially would
do during the game, Yeah, because I think I think
the official stopping the game to review a clock, so
you have to be like someone upstairs watching for essentially.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Right, it should be a secaucus thing, especially in the
playoffs and on with life. We move it along, you know,
but you got to protect your stars. We protect our
stars over here. The protection we have for Isaac Lowland
chrome I'll tell you what the picture Secret Service times
like five. That's what we have for every update, just
to make sure I think it's the right way, that's

(27:29):
right with I Low.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
He's got the latest, what it's going on?

Speaker 4 (27:31):
I Low.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
Unfortunately my retinue is currently distracted from protecting me. They're
watching In the Line of Fire again. Great movie, by
the way. John Malkovich was brilliant. Yeah, yeah, no, no,
it wasn't it. Clint Eastwood, I thought, no, oh yeah.
Costner was in the Bodyguard.

Speaker 1 (27:49):
Oh okay, yeah, But I'll.

Speaker 8 (27:50):
Tell you what, you know, I mean, they could you
know what that's up next. It's going to be a
double feature in the Line of Fire in the Bodyguard. Meanwhile,
kidnappers come in and steal me away. So I better
make this one bress. Game seven of the NBA Playoffs
on Saturday night saw Denver defeat the Los Angeles Clippers
one twenty to one oh one. They led by as

(28:11):
many as thirty five and will now face West one
seed Oklahoma City in the Western Conference semi Finals beginning
on Monday. In Game seven of the Stanley Cup Playoffs
on Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Which hockeye you go to?

Speaker 5 (28:23):
You can't go no.

Speaker 8 (28:24):
More, especially if you're a Dallas Star, because they rallied
from two to nothing down with twelve to twelve left
of the third period to stun the Colorado Avalanche four
to two. Is Dallas's Miko Ranton and a former av
had a hat trick and an assist in the third
period alone. Ranton and the first player in the history
of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to have a third period

(28:45):
hat trick in a Game seven. The Stars will face
tonight's Game seven winner between the Winnipeg Jets and Saint
Louis Blues in the second round. In Major League Baseball
Saturday night and Sunday morning, the Los Angeles Dodgers wanted
Atlanta ten three for their seventh straight win. Show hey
O toddi is eighth home run, Freddie Freeman four rbi,

(29:05):
including his sixth hormut of the season. The start of
the game was delayed by rain for three hours and
six minutes. The game started at ten twenty one Eastern
time on Saturday night. It ended at one twenty six
Eastern time on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, earlier on weill much
earlier Saturday. In the one hundred and fifty first running

(29:28):
of the Kentucky Derby.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Sabrint has taken the lead.

Speaker 9 (29:31):
Journalism is second, toward the ex sid Bass third, but
it will be Cybrunt to roll the Kentucky Day Journalism
the noves over next final Devin was fourth the fedal
time plus two two point three one seconds.

Speaker 8 (29:49):
My takeaway he had another loss for journalism. Back to
you guys, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, how about sovereignty? How about Vegas?

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Hot bet for Kentucky Derby action, right, Crack, it's a
big deal over here.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, yeah, no it did. Where did you watch in
the casino? Were you in one of the casinos?

Speaker 2 (30:27):
No?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
I was at the place for it. Yeah, but that's okay.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
I got to get out there. I didn't even think
about that at the time, but well, yeah, were you
out there, crack.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Were you out in the casinos?

Speaker 2 (30:36):
No?

Speaker 4 (30:36):
No, no, I was at the Polish festival. That's how
much horse racing means to me. That's how hard it
is to beat horse racing. Is that I'm not I
really don't mess with horse racing too much. But everyone
asked me about this race, so I had to defer
to you know, you handicap the handicappers, and that's exactly

(30:57):
what I do. And I did in this situation. I
went to one of the best guys in the world
that I know. Listen, horse racing is you have to understand,
it's fifteen to twenty five percent house edge, so that's
the takeout. So every one hundred dollars you bet, on average,
they only put eighty dollars back in the pool, whereas
sports we only have to overcome a four and a

(31:19):
half percent edge. So however, I know some guys that
are really really sharp, and sure enough I asked them.
They gave me an opinion and the one guy he
had the winner. And I gave that out on multiple platforms,
multiple shows, Twitter and everything. So it went good. He

(31:41):
had the winner. I did not know it was going
to pay what it did. I thought that was like
the second favorite, which was going to pay like under
ten dollars. I had no idea it was going to pay.
They paid like eighteen bucks. I had no idea it
was going to pay that much. So yeah, so at
least I gave a winner out on all forms of
social media. But as far as Las Vegas goes wow,

(32:04):
this town packs up. They come in and literally sell
out the casinos for this event. They build up around it.
The day before Friday is the Kentucky Oaks. So Friday
Saturday very expensive nights if you are to come to
Las Vegas and pay for your room. I know, I
was over at the wind and on a Friday, you

(32:25):
couldn't get a seat anywhere in the horse in the
in the I was almost at the horse room in
the sports book, couldn't get a single seat all there.
It brings in a lot of people to Vegas to
watch Derby Derby Day. These casinos have promotions and work
around it, and yeah, it was it was a It
was a big weekend for us. Even though myself I

(32:47):
didn't watch the race, I knew i'd catch it later
on a replay And Jeff, what do do you watch
the race or what are you doing? Ye?

Speaker 3 (32:55):
I do two things. One is and my kids. I
was not with them during the right yesterday because we
were at a crawfish boil and my daughter has a
seafood allergy, so we stayed, we kept away, We kept
her away from that. But the rain that was in
the delayed that the game in Atlanta yesterday. We certainly
got hit with that, and we did a crawfish boil
in the rain, but nonetheless delicious crawfish. Like just it's

(33:17):
a lot of work, you know, it's a lot of
work for a little bit of tail meat. So I
pulled my phone out to watch the race. But normally
what I do is I let my kids choose a
horse and put ten dollars on the horse they each kid.
You know, I never tell them they can keep the
money if they win, but I just I let him
choose a horse as they're like the horses come out
of the stables, but I wasn't with them yesterday. So
the other thing I do is Chris Filica the Bear,

(33:39):
who I do a podcast with. Bear bets big into
in the horses and he just sends me the card
to play. So the day before we hit like in
outright twelve to one winner in one of the earlier races,
and then in the derby yesterday I hit a trifecta.
I think I hit one of them two paid four

(34:01):
hundred and sixty dollars.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
There was lots to go after it, so I did.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
I Yeah, I did my I did. Instead of one
dollar for the for the trifectas, I did two dollars
for them. So yeah, I hit one, you know, one
two dollars trifecta pay and that's a that's a good investment.
I then lost that exact money back on a hockey
wager last night, so I ended up being net zero
for the day on on that on that, uh on

(34:27):
that on that day. But no, I mean, look, I
I don't crack. Look I think I asked you like
three years ago for advice and had to wager on horses.
I had to Yeah right, I had to cover it
a little bit more than I than.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
I do now.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
It's one of those things where you just can't drop
in and figure it out. And so I rely, just
like you do, on people to give me advice. Uh,
and I hope that they win. I don't really have
better advice than that, because I don't pay attention to horses.
They I don't know how to read a racing form.
I don't know any of this stuff, Brian. So I

(35:00):
choose just follow people that I like and trust and
paid off yesterday.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
Hey, there's no shame in that. There's no shame in
this isn't my area of expertise. I'm gonna sit this one.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Out, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
You don't have just blindly fire because there's an event
going on.

Speaker 4 (35:15):
So funny, Brian. So it's funny, He mentions Chris. So,
I'm on air Thursday. I'm downtown and I'm on air
on on VS and and Chris FeliCa texts text me
after I give out sovereignty, and Chris texts me and says, hey, buddy,

(35:37):
that guy you're talking about is great, the guy that
gave me the the the Batist Brothers geniuses. They're horse
race screers, and he gave me sovereignty. He's I just
want to let you know, f YI, the biggest mush
of horse race betting I know also loves sovereignty. Do
a so I said, my god, that's Chris. And then

(35:59):
yesterday Crystal me had a good Friday, and yeah for Saturday.
But yeah, krystals a lot about horse racing. And anyway,
we overcame the mush.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
All right, there you go, there you go, over came.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
All right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian No.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
All right, let's do this.

Speaker 5 (37:17):
Check this out parlay ladder.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
All right, the platter is here.

Speaker 2 (37:22):
We each have one selection for you. We pull it
together for a greater payout.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
Crack.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
We start with you, buddy, what do you like?

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Let's start out with an early morning prop here Steph
Curry points over twenty six and a half. Curry struggled
the series, scoring less than twenty in three or six games.
That's probably why this number went down to twenty six
and a half instead of like twenty nine and a half,
where it is almost every game. Steph will have a
ton of volume in this game. I expect thirty field
goal attempts in this one, and Steph to get to

(37:50):
the free throw line sixty eight times. Also, so Steph
curry over twenty six and a half.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
Right, would you like Jeff?

Speaker 4 (37:58):
What are you on here today?

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Platter wise? Hi, we might have lost Jeff for a second.

Speaker 4 (38:05):
All right, let's have a double platter Brian.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
All right, I'm gonna go baseball on you to start
this off. At least my leg I've got. I've got
the Mariners and Rangers circled here. You got the Gram
on the bump for the Rangers. He's pitched pretty well
this season. And get this crack the Rangers at home.
They're sixteen and three to the under. So I like

(38:31):
I went with I bumped it up to eight and
a half. It's eight at BEDMGM. But I bumped it
up a little bit so you get a little bit
of juice there. Yeah, yeah, go a little alternate line.
But I like under eight and a half better than
under eight. I hate the pushes if you get to
like a five to three game something like that. So
I like under eight and a half in this one,

(38:53):
sixteen and three to the under goodness the Rangers at home.
They've just been an under team. So that's one that
I like, right there. Would you have you been doing
those totals? Have you been betting some totals?

Speaker 4 (39:04):
Brian?

Speaker 2 (39:05):
I'm not huge on baseball betting in general, but I'll
pick my spots here and there.

Speaker 1 (39:10):
Yeah, crack.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
I'm more of a dabbler in baseball than just like
a hardcore day in day out.

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I think we've got Jeff all right, Jeff, we're doing
what leg do you have for us? Jeff?

Speaker 4 (39:28):
I mean, well, I thought he was back. Jeff is
meant to stay out of this far. There's reasons the
gambling gods are keeping him out of this. Just remember
I said this, and possibly when we ask him for
plays later on, the same thing is going to happen
from the gambling gods.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
We'll get his play around the corner. It gets you
a number on what the payout will be coming up next?

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Will this guy be the man?

Speaker 4 (39:56):
In year one? Oh?

Speaker 2 (39:59):
Welcome in, Happy to you. We will get to Jeff's
leg of the parlay. We'll also get to can this
guy be a rock star?

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Year one?

Speaker 2 (40:11):
That is on the way, I'd be sure to check
out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel. Just search Fox
Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see a whole bunch
of video highlights from our shows. Be sure to subscribe
so you always have instant access to our Fox Sports
Radio videos on YouTube. Okay, we are rudely interrupted by
power going out. I mean the audacity. Doesn't the power

(40:33):
know we're doing countdown right now?

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Jeff, what's up?

Speaker 3 (40:35):
Well, it's frustrating because I have a backup generator, but
it takes, especially in the South when we get these storms.
You know that we talked to We joked earlier about
the raindower in Atlanta. I mean it's the same thing
we had here, and we've had like four or five
power surges. We live in an older neighborhood, the above
ground power lines. It doesn't matter, No one cares. What

(40:56):
did you guys? What's in your parlay platter? What I missed?
I think I heard Brian make an MLB team total wager.

Speaker 1 (41:04):
No, I just went for the for the game.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
I went with Mariners Rangers under eight nine calf Yeah,
Rangers at home sixteen and three to the under. We
got to gram going today, So I like the under
there Krack is on Steph Curry over twenty six and
a half points.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Okay, you have to imagine he brings his a game today,
right I the one guy I think you trust in
this in this game, it would be Steph Curry. So
I'm going to take the Blues to score, see me,
not the Blues. The Jets to score first today at
home Game seven, They're hosting the Blues. The home team
has won all three of their games in this series.

(41:39):
The team that has lost the previous game has scored
first in twenty four of thirty six games so far
in the postseason. So I'm just sort of going on
the idea that the Jets are at home tonight, they
are the better team. I don't know if they win,
it'll be to be honest with the Saint louis Is.
You know, they were the best record four nations. But

(42:01):
I like the home teams start fast tonight. I think
it's minus one forty five this morning. I saw I
bet MGM put in the in the parlay platter.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Okay, very nice, all right? So we what tab is
that under? By the way, Jeff, It's just it's just
if you go.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
To if you go to all you hit like you
hit all and it should say team to score first.
I've made it this morning to go to you know,
we're gon talk through the app on the radio. It's
great radio.

Speaker 4 (42:26):
Yeah, all hit all. There we go. I got it.

Speaker 3 (42:28):
Yeah, it's right there you.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Go, Jets minus one forty Okay, So collectively we're looking
at plus five oh nine very pick Yeah, not bad,
a little little better than just five to one, A
little better, you know.

Speaker 3 (42:39):
I mean that's actually that's actually pretty good for our
our Probably a platter is typically a little a little cheaper,
so I like it.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Yeah, no, it sounds pretty good right there, nice little payout.

Speaker 1 (42:50):
Okay. So ball is on the brain always.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
We got to get to football here at some point
while we're doing countdown and crack through an interesting question
my way last night, he'll have these ideas for topics,
and you know, most of them are good.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
Every now and then it's like, crack, we're not talking
about that.

Speaker 4 (43:07):
Where do you you know?

Speaker 1 (43:08):
But most of them are good?

Speaker 4 (43:10):
Right?

Speaker 2 (43:10):
But he threw one out where will number one overall?
Pick cam Ward? Will he make the Titans relevant in
year one? And you know what, I'll go first, real fast, no,
would be my answer. I just don't think that he's
going to be a special quarterback in the NFL. I
think he's going to be average. He certainly has talent,

(43:32):
but the decision making in college far too often you're like, Cam, dude,
what are you doing. You don't need them to risk
it like that, and so for that to just sort
of decrease or go away in year one in the
NFL is a lot to ask, And especially when you're
the number one overall pick, you're going to a team

(43:52):
that lacks overall talent on the roster. You have to
be an absolute rock star to make your team relevant
in year one, and I don't see that happening. I
guess we can dispute what the definition of relevant would be.
It doesn't mean you have to go twelve and five
like Jaden Daniels did and his rookie season as the
number two overall pick, but even just relevant. From an

(44:17):
interesting standpoint, I just don't see that from the Titans
because I think he's just going to be a guy
in the NFL, at least not top five, top ten special,
and I think that's what you have to be working
with to have a turnaround.

Speaker 6 (44:29):
Like that.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
I just don't see it from cam Warden year one.

Speaker 3 (44:32):
So what's interesting about this discussion is there was talk
a lot about whether the ten should even take him
right because they have so many other holes on a roster,
and whether it would make sense to go after Travis
Hunter or a Duel Carter and then take a quarterback later.
So I think that sort of tells you right there

(44:53):
that there are still some issues that have to be
fixed on this team to make them relevant. They also,
I mean this is going to sound a little will
mean maybe they played in irrelevant division like no one
cares about the AFC South and uh, and that that
partly makes I think it even likelier that the Times

(45:14):
are not relevant this season. I'm kind of curious, Like
in general, I think about how long this coaching staff
is gonna last. They had a tough a tough goal
last year. It's Callahan's first coaching job. Maybe became a
little bit longer leash. But uh, to the point, I
don't think I make some relevant. I don't think they're
a playoff team. I don't think that they're really ready

(45:34):
for that sort of hype at the moment. One day eventually,
but not right now.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
So to actually talk about what Brian said, I I
do send them some lists, try to get do it
every Saturday night, maybe some topics that will be hot topics.
But you're right, Brian and Jeff, you don't know this.
But he doesn't get back to me. He doesn't include
the juicier ones like I put in so giant. So, Brian,

(46:00):
what do you think about the Las Vegas strip clubs
compared to the one going through in the Midwest. He
doesn't even he doesn't even get back to me. Like
he's out he's partying every night. He's out there playing
the bubble craps game, arguing with people. I just want
to know what at the end of the night they
release a nice get away from everything. How are the
strip clubs compared to Midwest? All right, you don't have

(46:23):
to you don't have to address.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
I'm like, crack, it's a Sunday show. What are you
talking about now?

Speaker 3 (46:27):
I feel like that's one of those that like it
goes unanswered, we know the answer, Like there's not really
a question about whether or not who who gets who
wins that not award, but who gets the honor of
saying like that's you know those are better clubs.

Speaker 4 (46:41):
That's funny, man. But however, you know what, because I'm
sure you guys probably know from being around me, I'm
a little bit of a germ fobe. So and my
buddies coming down and they want to go, hey, crack,
what's the best strip club? I have to ask other
people because I and plus, by the way, these are
places that you're totally sharp. I mean, let me just
say this, nationwide, worldwide, here we go. If you're sharp,

(47:05):
you don't get hustled at a strip club for five
hundred dollars or a thousand dollars. I have a friend
that comes in from South Carolina. He has a great time,
he doesn't care about it. He's got a lot of money,
comes in. He never spends less than ten thousand dollars.
I've been with him ten thousand as like, please, you can't,
I don't want to go. He just gives away. He

(47:27):
just you know, people make it rain with dollars. He
makes it rain with hundreds. I mean, he's a sick human.
Why would you get hustled? He said, that's what I enjoy.
I enjoy doing it like.

Speaker 3 (47:37):
I am just oh my god, I spend enough money
on my own wife. I'm not spending My wife has
had a rule, and I am I'm not a scall person.
That's not really a thing I have to follow. But yeah,
she said, whatever you spend on her, you have to
spend on me. It's a fair rule.

Speaker 1 (47:52):
Certainly, it's a very fair rule.

Speaker 3 (47:54):
You know, you know what, I spend nothing on her.
I don't have to spend anything on my wife. So
it works out well in that and in that day.
But I mean, I well, the last time I've been
a strip club, I mean it's like, why the last
time I even't been out of my house is a
question as well.

Speaker 1 (48:09):
So well, your rule, I like your wife's rule.

Speaker 2 (48:13):
You've met my girlfriend, you'll say, her rule is if
you even think about going to a strip club, I
am going to beat you with a minimum of five
frying pants.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
I don't know what it is against I met her.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
Like one tonight. I think that fits her personality very well.
I'm glad that she but that's the way, Yeah, mom
just does it is unbothered. But she also wasn't not
going to go, so she can say things like that,
like like, yeah, you have to do whatever you spend,
you have to spent on me because he knows I'm.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
Just not going to go. So it's Vegas. If you're
on a guye trip. Most of the guys, of course,
you guys, I get ith. Yeah, they want to go
to a strip club and and and I just feel
that if you're I don't want to insult the America.
But when you're if you're a sharp guy, wouldn't you
rather bet that money in the sports book then no

(49:07):
chance to recover it?

Speaker 3 (49:08):
I mean, that's that's that's a fair way to look
at it. Crack. Also, you know, you know those people
on the side of the street and Vegas, like they
hand you those cards. I'm sure this discount could be had,
you know.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
Yeah, the discount is right on the crosswalks and stuff.
They not only hand you, they put it in your face.
So a lot of times if I'm walking, I'll take
them all. We'll just give me them all of the
I'll take care. And just like these people on the
mall that want to hand you an iPhone cover and
they hand it to you because if they want to
sell it to you, I'll just take it and keep walking.
Then they'll chase me down the thing. Yo, Yo, Wait,

(49:37):
a minute. But Uh, let's get back to our question.
Number one pick cam Ward? Uh, will will he be relevant?
Cam Ward is an interesting college career, playing for three
different teams. He adapted very quickly in Miami, obviously. Uh.
But but the NFL is a whole different bag of
worms here. So uh? Could could he have his success
right out of the out of the gate like a

(49:59):
Jayden Daniels lst year at the Commanders or it's just
going to be a longer process like last year's number
one pick Williams. The Titans have been pretty active free agency.
They addressed the offensive line by signing left tackle Dan
Moore to a four year, eighty two million You know,
I think we always forgot the last ten years. It's
really I think about this though. These linemen are so

(50:23):
important Now they're really being paid four years eighty two million.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Dollars after I retired. Yeah, must be.

Speaker 4 (50:30):
I mean, that's unbelievable, Jeff, isn't it twenty million a year?

Speaker 3 (50:33):
I'm I I say this all the time. It's not
my money, but they're there are a lot, They've made
a lot of money. Uh, you know, it's good for them.
I missed it by like four years my fre agency.
My big regency year was like a wit a flat
a flat CBA or a flat rate in the uh

(50:54):
flat raised that year.

Speaker 4 (50:55):
What is the minimum now, Jeff in the NFL about
a million bucks?

Speaker 3 (50:59):
Like we're I think if you're a rookie contract, you're
probably getting six hundred.

Speaker 4 (51:04):
I guess it is that low.

Speaker 3 (51:06):
I think it's I think it's I mean, that's not
I mean, that's a seventh pounds that is low. Yeah,
seventh round pick. I mean that's what your that's what
you're getting now. Yeah, So it's uh, it's you know,
I think when I came in the NFL was it
was uh, it was two seventy. I think that's if
you were a rookie or made the roster.

Speaker 4 (51:25):
Gotcha anyway, going back to also, the Titans also need
a pass rusher on defense.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (51:31):
Last year they were at the bottom of the league
in sacks and quarterback pressures. So they need some help,
maybe a wide receiver. But I think we're looking at
more this year of just you know, being a maybe
being a team to grow for ward. The Titans. I
don't see them making the playoffs. I mean, and they're
one of the teams why would I You know, every

(51:51):
game's over. It's it's it's over, you think. But there
are certain teams and I know you guys got them,
and I know at whoever's listening has their teams. The
Titans are one of those teams that I cannot bet
on and win. I don't know. They always seem like
people have problem.

Speaker 3 (52:09):
That's what it is.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
Problem God his fault. Yeah, it's a big part of
it right there. But I also think you're supporting cast matters.
And I would say this if you compare the Titans,
they're wide receivers to say the Washington Commanders. Okay, so
the idea is Jayden Daniels was a rock star last season.
He was fantastic, But if you look at what he
had around him, Terry McLaurin is a really good wide receiver. Yes,

(52:34):
if you look at the Titans, it's like, who's there
really good Terry McLaurin like receiver. It's they've got Calvin Ridley.
They picked up Tyler Lockett from Seattle. They picked up
Van Jefferson. They drafted Jim ray d K out of Florida.
Fourth rounder Treylon Burk's their first round pick. They just
declined his fifth year option. That's not a good sign

(52:57):
when you're declining that they opted for to go with
the Traylon Burks instead of paying a j Brown who's
been a stud with the Eagles, was a stud with
the Titans. They went with the draft pick and that
has not worked out. So I don't love like Chicka
kon Quo is a good tight end, but I don't
love the supporting cast.

Speaker 1 (53:19):
And I just don't think that highly of cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
I gotta be honest, I'll eat my words if he's
a player and he's got the talent to make me
eat my words. But I just don't see a special
NFL talent. I see ordinary because the decision making is
so inconsistent. I just don't see how that improves, especially
right out of the gate with that supporting cast.

Speaker 3 (53:38):
Well, I think it's very fair to say that like
year one is probably a learning experience for cam wored
at best. I think that we love the stories of
jods like jenn and Daniels, but that's so few and
far between to come out between. They were ended up
being fourteen and six, like they were like a legitimate
good team last season, right and Daniels was specially what
he won the Heisman, like very clearly was the best

(54:01):
player in the country by far, and it's just it.
He translated that immediately the deep passes and look, I
say this often when it comes to camp wore guys.
He is sort of new to playing quarterback. Right, think
about his high school high school, right, he played in
an offense that was very run based. Goes incarnate word,

(54:24):
they have a weird where they have a spring season
that a fallow season because of COVID goes to goes
to Wazoo and plays in a run and shoot essentially
for two years and then goes to Miami. Last year
was his first year playing like a real sort of
like offense, real offense, and so there's just a lot
more room for growth there from him. Daniels played many
years of college football, but Arizona State played LSU like,

(54:47):
he played in different offenses, like he was more ready
I think for this moment than cam Ward.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
Was, or is is I should say, yeah, yeah, no,
it makes absolute sense to me. We've got Bill Krack,
professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm
Brian no use code countdown at BETMGM and receive up

It's Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is

(55:37):
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. It's time
for the Tirack play of the day.

Speaker 4 (55:44):
The inbound top by Westbrook in a burkaway.

Speaker 6 (55:48):
Two head.

Speaker 8 (55:51):
Nuggets late it one O, three to sixty eight in
Game seven.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Very nice.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
That's from Altitude Radio Network. Uh Russell Westbrook with the
steel and the throwdown and the hanging on the rim
for I don't know it was a good I'd say
five minutes.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
I think he was on the for of it. Didn't care.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
For over forty years, ty Iraq has been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
shipped fast and free, backed by free road hazard protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tiraq dot
com the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 1 (56:26):
I like the call on the TNT side.

Speaker 2 (56:28):
I think that Grant Hill was doing the game and
when Russ picked up the technical foul, he was like,
I Am not sure he cares. It's like, I'm pretty
pretty confident he does not care. Oncesoever, man, he was exciting.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
We can't, we can't in play the press conference, I
think after the game with Russ that's how much either care.
Was that was that last night that the cuss word was?

Speaker 2 (56:50):
That was that?

Speaker 9 (56:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (56:51):
Yeah, the whole uh, his whole mindset is to f
s up this, this whole.

Speaker 4 (56:56):
Press them up.

Speaker 3 (56:59):
You know, Russman, and he is every game. You just
don't know what you get from him, which makes it
such a wildcard every game, right Like you know, you
might have the great rust game went at the back,
you might have in the same play. It was a
moment a couple of games ago when he the Big
three hit and dribbled the ball of his leg. The
next time down.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Down the right, that's right, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
You don't know what you're getting from him, and so
I think that makes it tough sometimes to figure out,
you know, how you can prepare to bet on on
the Nuggets. I uh, you guys find it odd that
game one of an Eastern Conference semi final is starting
before game seven of the first round tonight. I don't understand.

(57:41):
Why is it three thirty Eastern? Game like not allowed
in Houston today. You can't just get everyone up and
and added as as church celebrations and is that like
is that is that putting? That would be that would
be two thirty, would be two thirty central. We we
we can't fill up with the toilet center there. We're
still there two thirty Eastern to the Central.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
They could, I'm could, yeah, but it's just it's a
headlining act type.

Speaker 3 (58:08):
It's Sunday night, like what I got. I got kids
got school tomorrow, I gotta get to bed. We're gonna
stay up till eleven o'clock. There's nothing happening today in
the middle of the day. We're gonna watch baseball all
day today. I mean, sure, I'll sign me up, but
watch baseball all day today, But come on, NBA give
me a three thirty Eastern game.

Speaker 1 (58:27):
Interesting little Mattine action. Sure, I hear you on.

Speaker 2 (58:30):
Put the game one in three, flip them around. Yeah, yeah, hey,
I get it. For the East Coast audience, I totally
understand that.

Speaker 3 (58:40):
But they a lot of people in LA to day
thriving to watch to watch NBA action their their preferred
time zone. I don't understand here. We have a bunch
of East Coast teams left. Why are we not catering
to the East Coast crowd.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
Well, I mean, here's the thing, crack.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
We talk about the LA market, and both teams are
at home watching playoff action today if they show so
choose Clippers crashed and burned yesterday, lost by nineteen points,
and Jeff, your Lakers, Your freaking Lakers, my lord, a
gentleman sweep. It's a five game series against the Timberwolves

(59:18):
and JJ Reddick. Listen for all the positivity. He did
a really good job during the regular season that has
all been forgotten because of the last two games. He
had a couple of progressive ideas that did not work
out whatsoever. Back to Game four, he played Luca and
Lebron forty six minutes they faded down the stretch. That

(59:40):
was highly questioned. Game five, he went with a small lineup.
The Lakers have really no front court. The front court
is Jackson Hayes, and JJ Reddick was like, Hey, I
got an idea. How about we don't play Jackson Hayes.
Let's go small and Rudy Gobert had twenty seven points.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
And twenty four rebounds. My lord, no adjustments, know nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
They lose both games, and JJ reddick stock has plummeted
ever since.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
What I found so interesting about the way JJ rex
was discussed after the game was it sounded like a
lot of the insiders were sort of waiting to pounce
on Reddick. We got a lot of stuff about his
mental makeup, his anxiety, like his play at Duke, and

(01:00:32):
I was like, oh, okay, when you're waiting to let
this go. I was sort of surprised at that reaction,
not just saying like, hey man, it's his first time
in the postseason.

Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Like that that.

Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
I talk about this a lot in college football because
college ball fans are so impatient and Ryan Day must win.
Now he's forty two, it's his first job. JJ Redicks
and I get the pressure Lebron and Luca on the
trade for Luca, and look, I get all that pressure
is there to win right now, but it's his first

(01:01:07):
time in the postseason. I think we give him a
little bit of grace. And I get it that their
comments have come up he made on TV about other coaches,
and certainly you're f it's fair to throw that back
in JJ Redick's face. I'm for that idea, but like,
I think, we gotta give them a little bit of
grace here and say, hey man, it's his first time
in this situation. He made a calculated risk, it didn't

(01:01:29):
work out, and I would imagine next time he's in
this spot, he won't do it again. So I don't
get why we don't approach it in that in that
way we do that for everyone else.

Speaker 4 (01:01:40):
Yeah, Jeff, I didn't expect that yesterday on you know,
I gotta be blunt. I'm just thinking about the New
York crowd or even the Philadelphia crowd. They have a
real low tolerance level. They'll turn on you in one
minute if you start losing, and they'll blame the coach.

(01:02:02):
They're not going to, you know, blame some of the
stars so I didn't expect that. I really didn't expect that.
The other day I should have said, I don't know
has that been historically the case though with with LA crowds,
and I just don't know it. I thought it was no.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
I don't actually don't think. I don't think it's LA crowdcher.
I don't think LA's turning on him. I think the
media is turning on JJ Redick, where the media was
super positive about him for the last half of the season.
LA sports fans are not I think that they're not.
They're not blaming anybody like they're excited for Lucas. Still,
I don't think. I don't think LA sports fans are Look,
I think they knew sort of where they were at

(01:02:38):
right now, and I would imagine that they're okay with
what to happen is they have Luca for the future.
The question is now, what do you do moving forward
to build up your roster? And Lebron threatening retirement is
certainly not he's not retiring, But I think it's more
just like you gotta get me some more. But they
look to be fair. They try to get Mark Williams
like they tried to make this team even better her

(01:03:00):
and Mark Williams shading the Lakers on this on Twitter
after the game. But you played for the Hornets, like,
come on.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
I know, Barclay went after him. Barclay was did, yeah,
you played for Charlotte, Like what are you talking about?
And so basically said the same thing, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
My buddy, come on. Look they tried. It didn't work
this year.

Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
I was.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
I surprised by the result, absolutely, but they weren't being okay. See.
I moved off that, I think pretty quickly. Brian from
my even Laker home where I was, I was like,
I did not be okay see, and they had to
get better. They got these guys better, get better players. Man, Yeah,
I think I was.

Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
I was referring to the guy from the Times though, and.

Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
After him, I don't even see Yeah, just a little bit.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
So, you know what, I wouldn't put too much blame,
I guess on Reddick and for the Lakers loss. I
think they lost to a better Roverall team that was
playing better basketball. The Lakers really failed to gel after
the Doctor trade, and you know, after that trade, they didn't.
I know, everyone was happy and you know, but they

(01:04:04):
were pumped up for a while there and I just
don't think they even gelled to the level where they
thought they were going to be, and just didn't have
all the right pieces, especially after the Mark Williams tray
got overturned. And I just think I think like the
Timberwolves won that series more than the Lakers lost it.
So Anthony Edwards played some great all around basketball. His

(01:04:27):
supporting cast like Gobert and Daniels McDaniels, they've had some
great games. So if you're interesting to see what happens
this offseason with the Lakers, boy, I don't even want
to say this. Jesus is Lebron retiring? No, you know,
we'll move will Luca, get this Max extension? Who's going
to be the coach moving forward? We all get this
drama in the offseason. Yeah, but you know, I don't

(01:04:50):
think I think Lebron likes the spotlight too much. I
don't think he's going anywhere he wants.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
He wants. He's gonna threaten to retire because he wants
better teammates. He wants them to continue to build a team,
you know, and addam more players, I think because obviously
they're just you know, they're not They're not close to winning,
and I think too, like, give Austin Reeves this big
contract and he I don't know if I don't know
if he's that guy. So I'm curious see what they

(01:05:15):
do this offseasons.

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Yeah, he disappointed. I like Austin Reeves, but he was
not good in that series. And I think some of
what fuels the reaction of JJ Reddick is kind of
how he is right. Like Jeff alluded to the video
that's going around when he was on First Take on
ESPN before he became the Lakers head coach, he was

(01:05:37):
crushing Doc Rivers and saying, the guy has zero accountability.
There's never any accountability with Doc Rivers. And then we
fast forward to the here and now and after he
played Luca and Lebron for forty six minutes, you know,
there was this back and forth with a reporter, which
you know was thrown back in JJ's face.

Speaker 10 (01:05:57):
Here you go, is there an assistant or someone maybe
they truldly on tonight, maybe to try to get you know,
some other guys involved, if that opportunity presents.

Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
Are you saying that because I'm inexperienced and that was
an inexperienced decision that I made do you think I
don't talk to my assistance about substitutions every single time out.

Speaker 10 (01:06:17):
No, I just think there's a lot of coaches lean
on their assistance in those situations, as do a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
Every single time. That's a weird assumption.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
At a walk off moment right there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
It's it's like, listen, JJ sometimes comes across like he
knows he's the smartest guy in the room, and then
if he does something that fails miserably, like there's nothing
wrong with saying, hey, I thought that was the best move.
It backfired, you know, it happens. Sometimes it's just like
there's nothing there. It's I don't know what it is

(01:06:50):
with JJ and and the last game when you don't
play Jackson Hayes. I'm not making Jackson Hayes out to
be you know this Patrick Ewing of twenty twenty five
or something. But if you're getting dominated and Rudy Gobert
pulls down twenty four rebounds, how does Jackson Hayes not
see the floor?

Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
How do you not adjust?

Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
And so that's what it is is JJ comes across
as I know I'm the smartest guy in this room
for sure. Maybe ever, that's just how he carries himself
and if you do something that an average basketball fan
is like, what is that about? Right, of course he's
gonna get called out for that. And that's what happened
right there.

Speaker 3 (01:07:29):
That's but that's what it is. I'm fine with that.
I mean, it's he's got it. Back it up now
and it was his first season as a head coach.
He's going to be fine. I don't put much into into,
obviously the end result when you look at I think
how they played this year and just Luca got traded

(01:07:52):
very clearly was hurt by the trade, right, Yeah, And
I think he's a full offseason now. Look, I guess look,
LA's a star city. Stars to get the best out
their stars. Luca, he's got to get in better shape.
I think we all know he's got to commit himself,
but I think I think he will. In Los Angeles,
it just seems to bring out the best, and a

(01:08:14):
lot of players being in Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Hey, bringing out the best is a great quality to have.
That's something that Isaac Low and Trawn. You know, you
get the ninety nine rating and Madden he's got one
hundred rating. Bringing out the best in others you can
look it up. It's on the world wide Web. If
you don't believe, I low with the latest what's going on.

Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
But because everything that we see on the internet is
one hundred percent true, no doubt about that. Denver left
no doubt in Game seven of the NBA Playoffs on
Saturday night as they defeated the Los Angeles Pluppers one
twenty to one oh one. They led by as many
as thirty five and now advanced to face West one
seed Oklahoma City in the Western Conference semi Finals beginning

(01:08:55):
on Monday. In Game seven of the Stanley Cup Playoffs
on Saturday night, the Dallas star riley from two nothing
down with twelve twelve left of the third period to
beat the Colorado Avalanche four to two, as former AV
Miko Rantonen had a hat trick and an assist in
the third period, alone, becoming the first player in Stanley
Cup playoff history to have a third period hat trick

(01:09:18):
in a Game seven. Dallas will face tonight's Game seven
winner between the Winnipeg Jets and Saint Louis Blues in
the second round.

Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
In Major League.

Speaker 8 (01:09:25):
Baseball on Saturday night and Sunday morning, the Los Angeles
Dodgers wanted Atlanta ten to three for their seventh straight win.
Start of the game was delayed three hours and six
minutes by rain. It started at ten to twenty one
Eastern time Saturday night, finished at one twenty six am
Eastern time this morning. Finally, if you're a sports fan,
you might be familiar with the Lasik surgery social media

(01:09:50):
campaign offering free Lasik eye surgery to pro referees, officials,
and umpires. Well, it turns out that that is not
just social media snark. Front Office Sports reports that more
than ten professional sports officials have taken them up on
that offer. The lace of people, however, would not disclose

(01:10:12):
their identities or which leagues they worked in. Very very
interesting stuff by Front Office Sports back to you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:10:21):
Good stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
All right, we're up against it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:44):
But just two quick minutes on this, going back to
the Lakers T Wolf series Game five, to close out
game something caught my attention. So Minnesota won the game,
close the series out. Do you realize from three point
range they shot seven for forty seven. That's the team
who won shot seven for forty seven. That's fifteen percent

(01:11:07):
collectively between Minnesota and the Lakers. From three they shot
eighteen for eighty four. Is what you saw in that
final game five. Anthony Edwards was zero for eleven from
three in that game. And here's the thing, guys, I
don't know if I'm weird for not hating this, but
I came to a realization watching that game where I

(01:11:28):
don't hate bad three point shooting as much as the
world seems to. Okay, Like, don't get me wrong, there
are games where the three point shooting is awful and
that particular game has no juice and it's just it's awful,
but not always right, Like, bad three point shooting doesn't
automatically mean the game is awful.

Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
That's just not true. That's just how a lot of
people make it out to be.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
There are times where, yeah, the three point shooting is awful,
but think of Aaron Gordon. I don't think it was
a three, but as a d shot by Yokisch right
in Game four against the Clippers and Aaron Gordon comes
in and dunks at home.

Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
It was an air ball. It was a deep shot.

Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
That was an air ball and one of the most
exciting plays you'll ever see. And you'll see that from
long rebounds trigger a fast break. You'll see a crazy
putback or some offensive rebound that leads to an interesting play.
It's like, not all bad three point shooting means the
game sucks automatically.

Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
I don't know why people make it out to be
that way.

Speaker 3 (01:12:31):
I think people want the game to be something different.
I was almost on TikTok yesterday and there was a
town I ran across that was showing like one NBA
play from random games, and I was walking through. There
was some stuff when Bill Russell was with the Celtics.
I was watching the video of that. I was like,
this is people in NBA to go back to this

(01:12:53):
like two pointers, right? I like, I would rather take
layups and threes over like mid range jumpers. We were
joking when Pablo, when Benkero was just like two pointing
the Celtics to death in like Game four, You're like,
what is this? He's stepping in thinking they're just shooting
mid range eighteen footers like like as nineteen ninety seven

(01:13:14):
again and this this is not how you win or
play in backway. Look, mishots are not fun any anytime
you take them. But whenever that ball goes up to
shoot that three, it's got a chance to be electric,
you know, like the three points of the crowd going wild.
Are you quite a crowd down? I'm fine with the crack.

Speaker 4 (01:13:32):
Yeah. You know, I gotta tell you, I have friends
that go to games. I really don't go to games
NBA games, but I have friends that go to They're
die hard two guys. They're die hard Nick fans, both
Wall Street guys, money guys. They go to and you know,
I swear when I was they were here recently for
a trip. I was there a couple months back. And

(01:13:55):
it's funny because I know they're my age. They've been
around sports, they love sports betting, and all they care
about is and you know, it's not like our twenties.
They're they're, you know, fifty years old, and all they
care about three pointers. They love going to the action,
excitement of three pointers. That is the way I, like
you said, one of you guys just said, nineteen ninety

(01:14:16):
seven basketball. It's a total different game today than look
at twenty five or twenty eight years ago. And but
that is the excitement part. I guess that's the way.

Speaker 5 (01:14:27):
It is now.

Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
It's it's you know, some of these games, and I
would rather because I'm more of an under player personally,
I would rather have them get keep on bombing freeze,
you know, lower percentage than layups and you know, a
little inside shots. But then again, yesterday is a perfect example.

(01:14:48):
I thought that game was going to go under last night,
and oh god, I think you said it was like
the backups came in and just started going crazy. It's
just it's so upsetting. It really is upsetting when you
get the best to the numbers and you know, by
a point, and you get great clothes online value, and
these these kids are still banging shooting up threes.

Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
I would just say this, pay attention today for anybody listening.

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
If you're watching NBA action right, if you're watching the nightcap,
Warriors Rockets Game seven. Okay, whatever game you're watching, pay
attention a little exercise. How many plays are exciting following
a missed three pointer? Okay, just just play a little
game here, all right, because some of them are duds.
It's a brick and you know, it's a regular defensive

(01:15:34):
rebound and on with life. But watch you know, it's
like what Crack just explained. These people are all geeked.
Like someone attempts at three and you're like oh, and
then they miss it, like ah, and there's nothing exciting afterward.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
It's not true.

Speaker 2 (01:15:48):
Watch Steph Curry miss at three and Jimmy Butler do
something crazy with the putback, or there are a number
of plays that are exciting following a missed three pointer.

Speaker 1 (01:15:59):
So I just pay attention to.

Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
That because we act as if nothing exciting ever happens.

Speaker 1 (01:16:03):
That's just not true.

Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran, I'm Brian No coming up next.

Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
Prop it Up.

Speaker 2 (01:16:13):

Speaker 1 (01:16:49):
All right, let's do this prop it up.

Speaker 5 (01:16:53):
Player plays all right.

Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
Crack, we start with you. What's a prop bet they use?

Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
All right? I gave you guys Courier earlier. I have
like a five of them today. Let's give out Haliburton,
all right, tyrese Haliburton under thirty three and a half
points rebounds assist. So this is a come down game
for the Pacers after their big win against the Bucks.
Caz are well rested. It's a possible blowout spot. Cas

(01:17:19):
also defend ball hands for as well, so I would
expect calibert to have some struggles today. Under thirty three
and a half points, rebounds assist.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
All right, the power, Jeff, I just want to make
sure it's good.

Speaker 3 (01:17:34):
I'm good to go. Yeah. I like Logan Web today
over eighteen and a half outs recorded pitching for the
Giants today against the Rockies. Who yeah, six and twenty seven.
I's to make sure I had the right number there,
six to twenty seven, Logan Web Giants ace. He's actually
averaged over six innings per start against innings quag against
the Rockies' includes aug the three games pitched in Colorado

(01:17:55):
as well. Rockes have one hundred and three runs scored
all season, and they're a knocker baseball team. Give me
the loggo up here over eighteen and a half outs, reporter.

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
That's a good play.

Speaker 4 (01:18:07):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
By the way, you as a Giants fan, Jeff, did
you catch earlier this season where is a postgame interview
and yeah, someone broke win in the background and he
couldn't hold it together. He's like, sorry, guys, A farts
are funny. I don't know what I can tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:18:23):
Is this It was really good.

Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
It was awesome. It was funny.

Speaker 3 (01:18:27):
Yeah, So I will think Logan Web over eighte and
a half outs recorded today.

Speaker 2 (01:18:32):
Okay, fair enough, a couple of plays. I like, I'm
gonna hone in on the Pacers here today. So Evan
Mobley and Jared Allen, they do a great job for
the Cavs, you know, like rim protection, right, controlling the paint.
So you think about Halliburton driving against those guys, He's

(01:18:54):
gonna be driving and kicking, right, He's going to be
passing the ball instead of finishing at the rim.

Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
And so that leads to either assists.

Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
For Halliburton or points for some of those role players.
So one of these guys is Andrew Nemhart. He was
four and one to be over. Both Memhard and Nie
Smith were four and one to the over last series
against the Bucks. They're gonna get a lot of opportunities
with Halliburton driving and kicking, and so I'm gonna go

(01:19:23):
with Nemhart over twelve and a half points.

Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
Darius Garland is questionable with the toe injury.

Speaker 2 (01:19:29):
Sam Merrill started a couple of games last series against
the Heat.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
Not a lockdown defender, So I like themhard over twelve
and a half points.

Speaker 2 (01:19:38):
All right, coming up next, has anybody done it better
than this guy? We shall compare notes hang with us.

Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
It's countdown.

Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Oh welcome man, Happy Sunday to you man. We get
to all time greatness. Where does it rank? That is
on the way. You can stream the show and all
of our Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to
seven new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports
Radio in the app to stream us live. And one
of the newest features in the app is that you

(01:20:07):
can select Fox Sports Radio as one of your presets,
just like the presets on a radio dial. So be
sure to preset Fox Sports Radio in the iHeartRadio app
and it'll always pop up at the top of your screen. Okay,
So Greg Popovich, he will no longer be the head
coach of the San Antonio Spurs. He is stepping down.

(01:20:28):
He's had some health issues. He had a minor stroke
in November. He decided that the grind of coaching was
too much to continue, which is understandable. So he'll transition
from head coach to be the Spurs full time team president.
And so one of the hard hitting questions from Crack
last night, you know what topic ideas outside of the
strip clubs Midwest versus Vegas, it was where does pop rank?

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Is he at the top of the list.

Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
Is he at the top of your list all time
greatest head coach is an NBA history, Jeff, where do
you put him?

Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
I mean, jeez, I think the list is he's on
the short list, right, Red Aurbach, Phil Jackson, Greg Popovich,
I'm from Who am missing anyone in that group?

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
Lenny Wilkins, No, I don't know. Oh, that's yeah, that's
the consent probably there.

Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
I mean Steve Kurz one championship away from from Greg Popovich.
But pop did it from what ninety nine to twenty fourteen,
right was? I think the range of championships Obviously Phil
Jackson did did it in such a you know, he
won eleven championships, which insane to do, and obviously like
sort of three I mean four separate like dynasties, many

(01:21:43):
dynasties essentially right that the three and then the break
in the three and three with the Lakers earlier, then
three two with the Lakers later. Yeah, I mean, I
think he's about right there. I know people are going
to use his mid game interviews as like or his
erinus with the officiate with officials with the media sometimes
is like an excuse to knock him down. I mean

(01:22:04):
I that to me is like so insignificant. He didn't
want to answer a questions with the media. A lot
of guys don't, and he showed contempt for the media
every now and then. Sure, I mean whatever, when you
coach long enough, you started. But when you when you
hear stories from players and people that work with him,
I think that's the most important thing.

Speaker 4 (01:22:20):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:22:21):
When you listen to Becky Hammond's speech, I think was
she got adductive to the Basketball Hall of Fame, correct,
and she talked about pop and like would even look
at him because she was so emotional talking about what
he meant to her. When you listen to other players
you played with Papovich talk about him, that to me
is more important than how he treats a question between
the second and third perier and the third quarters, I

(01:22:41):
should say, so wonderful coach. Obviously Team USA as well, right,
success doing that and that's that to me is the
most important part of his legacy, not the things about
you know, what he said to the media.

Speaker 4 (01:22:53):
You know, it's funny. I didn't think of him being
that all time legendary coach, especially amongst those old school
names that you just mentioned there, Jeff. But the more
I think about it, after it happened, you put it
into their perspective. I think Papa is right up there.
When you mentioned that the you know, the best coaches
of all the time, five championships, I guess you don't

(01:23:16):
realize it until he retired and you think look back
at his career. I mean, he really did things his
way too. He had maybe the most success of any
coach in the history of the league maybe. I mean
Papa was was literally one of the first coaches that
really believed in the European players, trusting Tony Parker, Genalbe.
I mean, I can go on and on really some

(01:23:37):
of the things. It just I didn't really think of
it until I guess he did retire. When he was there,
I guess I didn't think of him being one of
the best. But he's also his real gift is building
a team a team each year so that it could
be competitive in the ever changing NBA landscape. Let's face it.
Having Tim Duncan as his anchor for so many years

(01:24:00):
definitely help. But I think you have to mention that
his name right along yeah, the great Phil Jackson, and
read our book like you said when you talk about
the old time greats, so pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:24:11):
Yeah, no, he's right up there. Pop has had an
amazing career.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
And yes, I like what you both said, Jeff, when
you're talking about forming relationships with everybody, the dinners, Like
Popovich is well known for these famous dinners with players
that he routinely had throughout the years. And like when
Draymond Green the other night is getting choked up, think
about that. Draymond Green is not known for his teddy

(01:24:37):
bear emotional side, you know, like he's in a postgame
press conference almost tearing up talking about Pop and how
great of a dude he is, and so yeah, forming
relationships and the success that he had five championships, it
speaks for itself. I just think that I want to
put him at the top of the list, like number one.
I personally put the zen Master up there, Phil Jackson

(01:25:00):
eleven championships and the managing of egos and personalities along
the way people act like, oh, you had MJ and
you had Kobe.

Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
I mean, like, who couldn't have won? Really?

Speaker 2 (01:25:14):
Think about Doug Collins in Chicago. There's a famous clip
where Doug Collins, who did a good job but never
won a title where he was like, Michael Jordan had
a game winning shot and he was like that play
was give the ball to Jordan and everybody get the
f out of the way. It's like people act like
that's all it took to win championships, and it didn't.
It took a whole lot more. You had Michael Jordan,

(01:25:37):
Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, like egos, personalities, Shaq and Kobe,
but it heads like crazy, they're still winning rings.

Speaker 1 (01:25:46):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
So I think that Phil Jackson, I don't know why
in terms of managing egos and personalities he gets short changed.
And I think x'es and O's wise, he gets short
changed too, where people just make it only about the talent.
It's not as if Popovich didn't have talents, that is,
if Red didn't have to everybody's had talent when they've
won championships, especially repeatedly won championships.

Speaker 3 (01:26:09):
You bring up such a good point. You know, coaching
X and O's is important, Having good players is obviously important,
but it's the managing of personalities right and being able
to get the best out of all your players, and
it typically takes yet, you know, fifteen players on an
NBA roster, I think, right, Brian, like twelve might dress
or something like that. Like it takes maybe twelve different

(01:26:31):
ways to motivate the players, right, You might have to
motivate one guy want this way, this way, this way,
this way, and it's a coaching job to figure that out. Like,
you can't blanket motivate everyone. I have two kids, they
both play sports. One kid I have to positive reinforce
ude one kid, I tell her Emmy, you hit the

(01:26:53):
ball now or Emmy, like you you're not playing well,
played better and she's like, okay, great, I'm doing it.
And the other kid, I just can't do that with
with Alex, I just can't. I can't motivate him that way.
I have to just positive reinforce with with Alex and
like that. You so you have to understand as a coach,
But it's hard because that takes a lot of time

(01:27:14):
to figure out the players, takes a lot of time
to build those relationships, tugs a lot of time to
make those to embed those things in your brain and
how to do that, and then also you can't lose
who you are as a coach in trying to motivate
the players. So it's this fine line I think, and
Phil obviously was able to walk down. Look, he obviously

(01:27:34):
credits text Winters with the X and o's part of
that job, right, which was a triangle offense. So that's
what made Phil and make Greg Popovitch, I mean crack
mentioned the point by bringing the European players over the
way they play the game is different the way the
Americans played the game. So making sure that you are
able to coach both styles but also make it NBA ready.

(01:27:55):
So those are all the reasons why I think Pop
is up there. And and you also know you're good
at your job when you basically have to resign and
get to be paid as a president to do nothing
like he's getting. He's present Bass operations just like the classic,
Like we're giving you a X amount of money just
to retire and hang out and be around the facility

(01:28:15):
with an official title. That he's not gonna be president
basket Operations. He's gonna give give him like a separate
a separates pay. It happens all the time in sports.
That's how much he has obviously meant to the Spurs.

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Yeah, there's no doubt about that, Yeah for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
And you know, also if we're talking about uh pop's greatness,
you know, and he certainly is up there. You can
put him second third on your all time list. I
would understand why someone would put him first. I just
I wouldn't personally because five rings is outstanding. We're looking
up at eleven with Phil Jackson. But yeah, I think

(01:28:52):
it's got to count for something.

Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
But I don't think rings is all that matters, like red, Yeah, Like, okay,
here's the great question is like Andy Reid Bill Belichick, right,
Like who is the better coach? Bill Bichick has more
championship rings? Andy Reid has won with so many different
people and Bill Belichick has not done that. Like you

(01:29:16):
could make argument that any reads a better coach probably
for that reason, like actual coach, but the Belichick way
and being able to get the best out of all
his players. It's sort of the same idea with Phil right,
just get the best of everyone all the time. So
I don't know if champion is always, but when it's
eleven to five, it does feel like two different organizations,

(01:29:37):
right with different with Jordan, with Kobe, with Shack and
with Pip in like different ways then and then remember
you know they reinvented themselves in Los Angeles. They went
and got Gasol and made a different team than the
one that he won with with Shaq and Kobe. So
I think fills up there. And then red auerback like
he's the best players for twenty years.

Speaker 1 (01:30:00):
It's just the thing.

Speaker 3 (01:30:01):
Yeah, and so does that mean he's the best coach.
I think you have to put up there. He was
GM two, right, so he's able to get those players.

Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
Yeah, the draft worked so differently back.

Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
Oh, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Well, you know, while we're talking about greatness, Crack brought
this up and I thought this is awesome because you're
looking at spin it in a different direction. Aaron Judge
with the Yankees, who is just going ballistic. I thought
this was a misprint, like they said it last night
on Sports Center.

Speaker 1 (01:30:29):
I had to go back and very right. He's hitting
four thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:30:33):
Two with power numbers. It's like what they said it,
And I'm like, I have to make I look at it.
I'm looking at it right now. It's for thirty to wow.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
And like two forty. Yeah, he's incredible. It also brings
in my favorite baseball thing. I've mentioned it so many times.
I saw a tweet the other day that was like,
Aaron Judge over his last hundred his two games, this
is his stat line, and they're like, this is the
best atlines. It's Babe Ruth, And I'm like, why do
we still lose in baseball? We talk about guys that

(01:31:07):
played in the nineteen twenties like it none, no one
reading your tweet has ever seen bab Ruth play. Sure,
there's not even video of him playing, like really like that.
It's just the funniest baseball thing where we just compare.
It's interesting, Aaron Judge was something that's never been done before.
We have to throw in like the baby. I saw

(01:31:27):
a video, Brian, I din't talk about this on the
show that we filled in. I saw a video that
showed a home run Mickey Mantle hit. The guy throwing
the ball was throwing seventy two miles an hour like this,
just this. I just I don't like comparing eras because
I just don't think Look, would Babyooth have adapted to
today's game, probably, but comparing like nineteen twenty seven and

(01:31:48):
twenty twenty five, to me, just give Aaron Judge his
own flowers for what he's doing without comparing it to
someone else that was played one hundred years ago.

Speaker 4 (01:31:58):
Yeah, yeah, you have a good point, and I never
think of it. I love, by the way, I can't
get enough of the old baseball clips and footage and
specials and documentaries. I love old baseball because that's what
I grew up with. My grandfather, you know, used to
literally watch the babe workout, and you know, we grew
up that's what we grew up. We grew up back

(01:32:20):
East Brox.

Speaker 10 (01:32:21):
That was it.

Speaker 4 (01:32:21):
So the Yankees was was the team, especially back then,
and great memories of that, and and my grandfather always
instilled in that and me. He was born in nineteen
ten and I was real close to him. But what
Aaron Judge is doing these last couple of years is
just legendary. Statistic wise, he's doing things that we haven't
seen since Like I guess Barry Bonds really and there's

(01:32:45):
anyone really close. Yeah, there's no one closed. And basis
this guy can hit seventy home runs in four hundred
if he stays healthy. I know it sounds crazy, but
he can't sixteen point let's speed, blunt hack a shack.
At what point do teams just decide to start pitching
around them.

Speaker 3 (01:33:04):
Yeah, yes, okay, you brought I'm glad you brought this up. Okay,
It's just I love this because I asked this question
last year on social media, and of course the baseball
people were like, how dare you asked this question about
about baseball? How do you know that you know walking
someone is don't you know? It's not good anymore? Because
Barry Bonds got walked in his best season two hundred

(01:33:26):
thirty two times. He got walked intentionally walking one hundred
and ten times in two and four. Aaron Judge does
not get he got intentionally walked twenty times last season. Yeah, now,
I get there's protection as lineup, but still that to
me is shocking, Like why throw to him if you
don't have to, He's gonna be an intentional work four
times this season? I'd be like four, but by go

(01:33:49):
to first base, like get out of here. And what
makes Judge to me my guy's hitting more impressive is
these guys throw so hard. Now in the end of
a Giant's Brewers game a couple weeks ago, and the
guys who are pitching eight and n I thinning the
ball does not go to the catchersmith. They're just throwing

(01:34:09):
the ball and it moves so much they have no
idea where it's going. And to be able to hit
a home run now where the ball these guys don't
know where it's going. They throw so hard with so
much movement, And to be able to square a ball
up now and hit it as far as he does,
how often he does, is so impressive. There's not just
like a forcing fastball going outside corner. It's got a

(01:34:31):
little cut on it, got a little dip, a little
you know, a ninety one hour sinker is a thing
now and ninety five hours sliders a thing now, and
it just it's it's really to me makes it way
more impressive than Babe Ruth in nineteen twenty seven. So
my point is Aaron Judge incredible. It's really fun to watch, right.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
I think it depends that, like the Babe Ruth thing,
it depends on how it's applied, because there are times
where it's applied and you're like, just to let you
know how special Aaron Judge is right now, he's actually
doing better than Babe Ruth and you're like, whoa, that's
baseball royalty right there, and obviously a much different era,

(01:35:11):
but if it's presented that way, it changes it.

Speaker 1 (01:35:14):
For to me, it's like, how is it applied?

Speaker 3 (01:35:17):
I'm just saying Aaron Judges doing something's never done before,
which is that you could in this era, in this
era of baseball. That's so special. I mean, these guys
are going back in the in the dugouts and watching
their bats of iPads, like the pitchers are going in
the and they're getting these scatting reports like it's so
specialized now to be able. And he's he does what
Bonds did, and I Bonds My favorite baseball wherever is

(01:35:40):
it was the one pitch a night that the guy
misses on and you hit that for home run, right,
And that's what Judge is doing. Like the pitcher gets
missed out of here, goodbye like that. That to me
is the most impressive part. He's so locked in to
his craft that the misses are the ones he's hitting
for home runs and base hits, which is which is
really hard to do in base a hard sports.

Speaker 4 (01:36:01):
He still needs a huge postseason World series that's gonna
put him the Monument Park, which either Mantle to Maggio.
But he's on his way. He's on his way.

Speaker 1 (01:36:09):
Yeah, and that's I'll say this.

Speaker 2 (01:36:11):
The last thing for me at least is you you
shouldn't be able to put up these power numbers and
be at four thirty two. That sounds like softball, you
know what I mean? He's hitting four thirty two is
his average.

Speaker 3 (01:36:25):
He was called a triple crown last year, right, was
he like one rbi way from a triple crown or one?

Speaker 1 (01:36:29):
He's right there, right close. Yeah, But normally it's like
a guy like Adam Dunn.

Speaker 2 (01:36:34):
Not to throw him under the bus, but a guy
that's just swinging for the fences and his batting average
is like one ninety eight or something, it's like, all right,
you got to deal with that. For the power numbers,
you don't have to sacrifice anything with Aaron Judge, which
is so impressive where you can hit for power and
for average, like elite at both, not just like good

(01:36:55):
at but elite production at.

Speaker 1 (01:36:57):
Both power numbers and average.

Speaker 2 (01:37:00):
I still think in today's game, average matters like well,
I don't know why we'd say, oh, you hit a
double that who cares compared to flying out to left field,
Like that's a big difference. It's not just the only
power numbers. Average makes a big difference even for power hitters.
All right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz,

which dog has the best chance of barkin? It's Fox
Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports
Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. Use count Code Countdown at

(01:37:56):
betmgm and receive up to fifteen hundred dollars back in
bonus bet if you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
Win your first bet.

Speaker 2 (01:38:02):
When you register with BETMGM, you'll get instant access to
a variety of parlay selection features, live betting options, signature bets,

code countdown and you'll get up to fifteen hundred dollars
back in bonus bets if you don't win your first bet. Okay,
So this is a sort of an ugly question, but

(01:38:22):
we need to ask it. If you look at these
series in the NBA, we know three of the four
second round series, right, So of the underdogs in each
of these series, which dog do you think has the
best chance of Barkin? Maybe not to the point of
winning the series, but coming the close closest to winning

(01:38:44):
the series? Right, we'll say that much. Would you go
Pacers take it on the Calves? Would you go Nicks?
They've got the Celtics, or you got Nuggets against the
thunder Jeff, what are you thinking? Which dog has the
best chance of Barkin?

Speaker 3 (01:39:00):
Knicks? Probably just look so, Drew Holliday's health is a concern, right,
The Celtics are not the same team without him, and
the Celtics just they frustrate the heck out of me, dude.
They if they're gonna try this one on one offense

(01:39:22):
against the Knicks, they're gonna have problems. Games will be
much closer than they have to be. They're going to
keep the Knicks in the game, and the best closure
on the court is Brunson. It doesn't mean Brunston gonna
have a great time closing every game because Boston's gonna send.
If I was Boston, I would send every single human
they have on defense at Brunson double. I would just

(01:39:43):
make someone else beat you, which I don't know why
the pisses to not do, but does feel like if
Boston's gonna play this game where they don't have a
free flowing offense with times they do not, if they
have a game where they don't miss, where they don't
make their three pointers, Brian, i'mly gonna lose this series,
but this is the one that I would be someone
because I think the Pacers and I think Cavs scored

(01:40:06):
a bazillion points today. There are team total over today
is slowing on my mind. I mean, they scored one
hundred and fourteen points against the Pacers with all their
backups in like two weeks before the in the regular season.
I think they're gonna score a ton of points today.

Speaker 10 (01:40:19):
I I.

Speaker 3 (01:40:21):
We get the Rockets and Warriors play the Wolves.

Speaker 1 (01:40:25):
Yeah, I mean I.

Speaker 3 (01:40:27):
Think the Wolves would beat both of them. I'd probably
go next crack if I have to choose an upset.

Speaker 4 (01:40:33):
Okay, I was actually surprised when I was seeing the
Celtics for like minus nine hundred to win this.

Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
Series opened seven hundred.

Speaker 4 (01:40:40):
Yeah, yeah, I've seen some different oh speak, I'll get
right back to this, you know. So it's funny. A
buddy of mine in town last night sends me four
prop bets winning winning better by the way, and he says, hey, uh,
anywhere you can get down on these right now? And
amazingly it's a shameless plug here for bet MGM. You

(01:41:00):
really can't. The day before, you really can't get down
on prop bets, like maybe like the Westgate, but that
was like the only place I seen had of like
I got like eight outs. I mean only bet MGM
had the props up the night before, so I didn't know.
Usually never checkers limits are so much smaller and I
can't get down multiple places. But I had to hand

(01:41:22):
it to bet MGM on that. Just thought of that.
But again, going back to I'm surprised to see the
Celtics such a big favorite in the series. Knicks are
playing pretty good basketball, and sometimes it seems like the
Celtics are just coasting through these games. I know MSGB
we were rocking when they play in New York, but
can the Knicks take a game in Boston. I'm not
sure their best chance is going to be in this

(01:41:44):
game one though. So as far as the Cavs, they've
they've been the most dominant team in the East all year,
but they're just not getting their respected. Maybe I think
they deserve. They swept past a pesky Heat team and
pretty easily, I thought, and now face a Pacers team
coming off a pretty physical series against the Bucks. I

(01:42:05):
think the Calves are just too deep for the Pacers.
I don't think the Pacers can beat them in a
seven game series though, but this would be fun coming
down to the wire here another month or show on
the NBA.

Speaker 2 (01:42:17):
Yeah, I don't love any of the dog's chances to
win the series outright. I don't know that some of these,
like the Celtics the Thunder, they're such massive favorites. I
expect them both to win the series. But they are
massive favorites. I guess some of the reasons why they are.
You look at Okac's incredible depth. Denver does not have

(01:42:40):
that depth that Okac does, and defensively, okay See is
light years beyond the Nuggets. It's not even close. The Celtics.
The thing in their favor is the Knicks can't beat
anybody good.

Speaker 4 (01:42:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
Hey, that's been a theme all season long. They can't
beat the top teams and they don't have depth. So
I think they could get a couple of games. I
think they could make the Celtics sweat a little bit
because the Celtics are goofy. Sometimes they just jack up
way too many threes. They don't move the ball. They've
got these injuries that Jeff mentioned with Drew Holliday's hamstring,

(01:43:15):
Tatum has the wrist, Jalen Brown had knee injections. Right,
it's the whole thing.

Speaker 4 (01:43:20):
So, uh.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
The thing about the Pacers, I I think that they've
got depth and I think that they can give Cleveland
a legitimate series. The thing I love so much about
Cleveland it goes back to the last series. It was
Game four, so they're going for the sweep against Miami.
They're up by forty five points with about four minutes

(01:43:44):
to go in the third quarter, and they challenged a call.
There was a ty Jerome challenged a Yovich you know,
layup attempt, and they called a foul and he's like
review that, and Kenny at considers like, hell yeah, we're
reviewing the competitiveness from the Calves.

Speaker 1 (01:44:03):
That was Game four. They're going for a sweep. They're
in Miami for a couple of days.

Speaker 2 (01:44:08):
You realize how many teams would be unfocused, and they
killed them by fifty five points.

Speaker 1 (01:44:15):
So the level of.

Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
Competitiveness, and they're they're they're a tryhard team. And I
mean that as a compliment. So when you have a
team with talent that's that focused, that's gonna be really
tough for the Pacers, would.

Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
Impress You mentioned that impressed me so much with the
Calves and to be the crack mentioned earlier, like I
don't think I was on the Calves like quite like
I should have. But you look at a couple of
these series, right, Boston lost the game to Orlando, and
in various points of that series, like they were down
at halftime or barely win at halftime, like they squeaked
by how much of those games the thunder predictably Game

(01:44:49):
four in Memphis, just like we're playing at fifty five percent. Yeah,
Like they just didn't try as hard the Calves every
second of every game full speed. Yes, I mean I
took a dabble at plus fifteen and a half, okay,
fifteen and a half in Game four, crack. At one point,

(01:45:11):
I was like, you know, what if I lose if
they win by more than fifty, shame on me. I
guess I don't know. Like I'm like, you know, in
some way, the heat'll give some resistance. No, the Calves
backups came in and started raining three pointers like I lost.
They won by sixteen points. I was like, you know,
I was like, I might lose. I lose, like it
happens so that. But no, I point about like this

(01:45:35):
upcoming like the Calves to me, and that was without
Darris Garland, by the way, didn't play the final two
games of that series. They have so many outs scoring wise,
and Mitchell by the way, in game four did not.
I think he had under twenty and now he didn't
play the last eighteen minutes or something right like, but
still like, they have so many ways to score points

(01:45:57):
and so many different guys they can do it. And
they play defense as well and a full speed like
they're really fun to watch. And the Pacers well better
on defense this year. When you're look I know Holle
Burton played well the last two minutes of that game
the other night, but for for forty seven minutes he disappeared.
He's way too much like he comes out today and

(01:46:19):
does the Holly Burton thing, which I would be good
for cracking all of us who have the under on
those on those numbers where you look up and they're
down fifteen in the first quarter and he has one
rebound and one assist in twelve minutes of the first quarter.
Can't do that against Cleveland. You can't have those twelve
fourteen minutes where your best player, best overall player doesn't

(01:46:40):
play up to task. That's I think it's just a
hard series for Indiana.

Speaker 1 (01:46:44):
Yeah, yeah, there's no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (01:46:47):
Okay, So we've got possibly an end of an era,
possibly championship audio to throw your way as well, and
I guarantee this championship update anchor ordinary Isaac Low in
front with you right now, bracing your ear drums.

Speaker 1 (01:47:03):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (01:47:04):
I Low?

Speaker 8 (01:47:04):
Oh, I love that, Brian, Brian, you are the champion
of introductions. Embracing your ear drums. Yes, of course, my
wife might beg to differ, but that's another story. We
start with a championship chase in the NBA Playoffs. In
Game seven of the opening round on Saturday night, Denver
defeated the Los Angeles Clippers one twenty to one oh one,

(01:47:24):
leading by his medios thirty five. Along the way, it'll
be Denver facing West one seed Oklahoma City and the
Conference semis beginning on Monday. In Game seven of the
Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday night, the Dallas Stars rallied
from a two nothing deficit with twelve twelve left in
the third period to stun the Colorado Avalanche four to two,

(01:47:45):
as former ab Miko Rantinon had a hat trick and
an assist in the third period alone.

Speaker 5 (01:47:51):
Here was the Kapper.

Speaker 9 (01:47:52):
Sega Clear's Brandon in for the hat trick of tours.

Speaker 4 (01:48:02):
The hats right down and the Stars will move on.

Speaker 8 (01:48:08):
Josh pogoron the call on ktck Ranton and the first
player in the history of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to
have a third period hat trick in a Game seven.
So Dallas will face tonight's Game seven winner between Winnipeg
and Saint Louis in the second round. Finally, in Major
League Baseball, Saturday night and Sunday morning. The Los Angeles

(01:48:29):
Dodgers wanted Atlanta ten to three for their seventh straight win.
Shoho Tani is eighth home run of the season Freddie
Freeman for RBI, including his sixth home run of the season.
Start of the game delayed by rain only three hours
and six minutes, so it started at ten to twenty
one pm Eastern time Saturday night, finished at one twenty

(01:48:50):
six Eastern time on Sunday morning.

Speaker 1 (01:48:54):
Guys, back to you, Thank you, I Low.

Speaker 2 (01:48:56):
It's Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. After
the show, our podcast would be going up. If you
missed anything on today's show, be sure to check it out.
Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts,
and be sure to follow, rate and review it as well. Again,
just search Fox Sports Radio wherever you get your podcasts,
and you'll see the show posted right after we get
off the year. Okay, guys calling your shot. Crack through

(01:49:19):
this in on the rundown as well. Is this the
end of the Curry Kerr era? Right, Steph Curry, Steve Kerr,
the head coach? Is this?

Speaker 1 (01:49:28):
It is this what we're looking at here? Audio smuchachos.

Speaker 3 (01:49:32):
After today, I feel like next week, you're I'm gonna
send you eight topics, Brian. I just I feel like
I've been left out here, crack just sending you this
stuff left here?

Speaker 4 (01:49:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:49:42):
Uh, I mean are they is one leaving? Like it's
Kerr done coaching the Warriors or Curry retiring? Is that
the well, then then it has to be curR retiring.

Speaker 2 (01:49:54):
I guess no, it's more so just I expect them
both to be back. But yeah, this is the Is
this the for you know, serious championship content?

Speaker 3 (01:50:02):
Yes, it is. Curry is getting older, Draymond's getting older.
They don't have a young player. I think you feel
great about right now, right like you don't feel like
there's someone who's in the next in line to take over.
It would surprise me if Kerr was done soon right
with this Warriors team. He's hes gonna want to go
through it, rebuild and build this whole roster back up again.

(01:50:26):
It does think like does Curry? I want to go
somewhere for a couple of years and just try to
be a second or third option and just be a
shooter essentially, right, not have to carry the entire offen.
I don't know where that would be maybe finally the
Lakers will finally get Curry for all the years they
wanted Curry, but just is it time for this to
be over with? I can make their argument, yes, I

(01:50:47):
think tonight. I did not like the Rockets the when
they were down three to one, but I tell you
a Game six was so impressive to me the way
they played. I think the Rockets do get it done
today and you'll get a first round exit and the iyeyah,
I think it's I think Crack's probably right this. This
iteration of the Warriors is certainly done after this, and

(01:51:08):
that that is what I meant.

Speaker 4 (01:51:09):
I didn't mean to say that they were, uh, you know,
hanging it up personally, but I just meant the end
of the era of for maybe their last Torondo last chance.
The last two games in this series has really looked
like out with the old, in with the new. The
Rockets just seemed to have more energy and more motivation
the Warriors, which kind of I guess isn't surprising. I

(01:51:31):
just thought that the Golden State experience would hold on
the court. Uh, but Houston looks like the better team
all around at this point. But yet, let me, I
just looked at this line, so I expected, I don't know,
I guess I expected a lot more people betting Houston,
and it moved to half a point, not much though,
opened up two and up to two and a half.

(01:51:54):
The totals went way up, opened up two oh one,
up to two oh six, now two five and a
half over on the on the total, so they're expected
some points. A lot of times these game sevens are
a little bit tighter. There we go, we go, Yeah,
a little bit tighter though, I would think towards the
end of what a bad beat, even though it went

(01:52:14):
over by you know, you know, a couple of touchdowns yesterday,
it looked like that game could have been under. Think
they scored like sixty something in the fourth quarter last night.
But a lot of these basic strategies are to bet
under game sevens and even the hockey game under. Let's
see what that total is, and yeah, yesterday, of course

(01:52:36):
that was that may have soured me. It's five five
and a half, okay, Winnipeg Saint Louis. Uh five two
two means you you actually you get a push, So
I'm probably not gonna do that. But uh, historically the
unders have have played out just basic strategy in Game seven,
so we'll see what happens. Should be a lot of

(01:52:57):
fun though sure like like Jeff said earlier, you got
to Cleveland, Indiana first, and then Houston Golden State after some.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
Well, the thing is, uh, there's been a lot of
talk of Jimmy Butler save the Warrior season.

Speaker 1 (01:53:11):
They might have a first round exit. That that's the
first thing.

Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
And then you go back to remember Draymond Green saying
we will win a championship this season, and it's like
they could be ousted in the first round. That's pretty
bad for both. But that's what's at stake today. This
is a great zigzag spot if you believe in that,
as bad as the Warriors looked in Game six, that
this would be a zigzag play. If you fade the

(01:53:36):
Rockets at home young Team game seven, you know, all
on the line happen.

Speaker 4 (01:53:42):
I know it, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
But if you're a believer in the zigzag, it would
be a good zig zag spot.

Speaker 1 (01:53:47):
Potentially, by the way.

Speaker 2 (01:53:50):
Just to get you set for the Indiana series, we
won't have John Halliburton, right, like Papa Halliburton in the
building here. He was talking to Jannis at the end
of that series against the Bucks. This was beautiful though.
You talk about one of the best all time excuses.
This was an interview he did with TMJ four. Listen

(01:54:11):
to his explanation. When he went on the court, he
was in Janis's face. This is what he had to say.

Speaker 4 (01:54:16):
It might have seemed like I was looking at him,
but I really was. I was looking through him.

Speaker 2 (01:54:21):
He was. He was looking through Jannis. It looked like
he was talking smack dude. No, no, No, He's just
celebrating through Jannis.

Speaker 3 (01:54:30):
I first of all, shock defending him was super weird.
I understand that on the show, but that was a
that was not a great what but you're not you're
not playing?

Speaker 1 (01:54:43):
Yeah, I know that was That was a weird one.

Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
But he won't be in the building for the foreseeable
future quote unquote, so take it for what it's worth.
We've got Bill Krakenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran, I'm Brian No, we got picks galore,
rapid fire cracks, play of the day, all that come
in your way. Next, it's Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented
by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by

(01:55:10):
bet MGM. Score bigger at BETMGM when you went in
with boost tokens, odds, boost tokens and more.

Speaker 1 (01:55:17):
Even if your bet doesn't hit, we've got you covered
with no sweat tokens. And that's not all.

Speaker 2 (01:55:20):
Sign up with BETMGM today and you'll have access to
countless basketball betting options, including new look, same game parlays, teasers,
live bets, and so much more. Props to the crew,
our producer Patty Sweeka doing an amazing job. Technical producer extraordinary,
Chris Purfett, Pride of Detroit Pod check it out, crushing

(01:55:41):
the updates and crushing life. That would be Isaac Lohenkron
and shout out to our guy Sager on digital posting
our clips. Appreciate its hard work. Top of the Hour,
Mike Harmon, Dan Beyer, They've got you covered less than
ten minutes away. Keep it locked right here on Fox
Sports Radio. All right, we got some picks to make.

Speaker 1 (01:55:58):
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (01:56:01):
Rapid fire.

Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
All right, crack, we start with you with something you like.

Speaker 4 (01:56:06):
Boy, I'm going to give out a triple pack. Here
a place. I'm going to give out you two now
and one red at the end, there overs all overs
in baseball today, Reds Nationals. I'm going by bet MGM
prices over eight and a half minus a dollar fifteen.
Then we're going to go over to Philadelphia and Arizona
over nine minus so five. So there's a there's a

(01:56:29):
couple of good ones for you. I want to have
one more right at the end.

Speaker 3 (01:56:32):
We're blowing out today. What is the second one? You mentioned?

Speaker 4 (01:56:35):
A Diamondbacks Phillies, Diamondbacks over and Reds.

Speaker 7 (01:56:38):
Like it.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
All right?

Speaker 3 (01:56:40):
I like Giants team total over four and a half.
The Rockies allow the most runs at baseball. This is
a wage I made every day. I like the Astros
on the run line against the White Sox, continuing my
support of them. I mentioned Jets at a score first
tonight as well to the Cavs team total. The thing

(01:57:00):
is one and a half. It's a big number, Brian,
I'm doing it anyways. I think the Cavs scored a
bunch of points, and I do like the Rockets to
win the game tonight. I haven't wager yet. I'm I'm
being soft.

Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
I should just do it, Okay, I'm going to go
with Steph Curry over five and a half assists. Okay,
they've been blitzing him, they've been doubling him. He's got
to get rid of the ball sometimes.

Speaker 4 (01:57:29):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:57:29):
He had a high assist game last time out in Houston.
That was Game five. He only had two assists last game.
In Game six, he was shacking up some bad threes.
He had a couple of nights passes.

Speaker 1 (01:57:42):
And they didn't come close to making the shots.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
So I don't think that Curry is taking as many
bad shots today, and I don't think his teammates are
gonna be missing as badly when he sets them up.
So I'm gonna go Steph Curry over five and a
half assists is one of the players I like today.

Speaker 1 (01:58:00):
All Right, let's get through your cracks play of the day.
Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:05):
This is the best play of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:58:08):
All right, cracks, all right today another player.

Speaker 4 (01:58:11):
Yeah, we're gonna put this in the tree in the
three pack. I'll consider them all rated about the same,
though normally we'd have the play of the day. Boy,
I tell you what, preseason football can't get here fast,
be honest with you. That play of the day stuff
and the run I've had on I just can't wait.

(01:58:31):
I love baseball, granted, I love it, love going to
a game. I like betting. It's a daily grind, though.
Let's get the preseason football, all right. Cubs also over
Cubs and Brewers over seven and a half minus one
fifteen on bet MGM. So you got three games over
on bet MGM. But I'm not joking. I got guys.
I figured you'd feel the same way. Let's get to

(01:58:52):
let's get the let's get this summer over with it.

Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
I can't wait for football.

Speaker 1 (01:58:57):
It's a tremendous thing.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
And how about this overs across the board, crack who

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
