a difference one game mates, Well, we'll tell you about

Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Good morning, Jeff, Good
morning Crack. Everything good with you, guys.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Let's just hope our show doesn't resemble the Boston Celtics
ISO offense, because otherwise, to be a rough one, guys,
otherwise I'm doing fantastic Brian Crack, how are you this
war anybuddy?

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Okay, I'm more happy. That's a very terminology that Brian is. Okay,
you know, for people that don't know. On Monday, I
took Brian over to a hot dog event we had
here in town twice a year, all different hot dogs
from different places, different kind of styles in New York, Philly, Chicago,

(01:29):
of course. And three hours, four hours later, I get
a text in the emergency room, what, wow, you know,
it's funny, Jeff. So this hot dog place is like
the who's who of town, influential bookmaking, book makers, not fortune,

(01:49):
five hundred guys. So yeah, and literally Brian, out of
the sixty people that showed up, is probably the guy
in the best physical shape out of anyone there. So
it didn't make any sense to me. Some people thought
it was a hoax, but I was more impressed with

(02:10):
he doesn't know this shit. The six hundred that's right,
six hundred responses on Facebook. I don't have sixty friends,
Brian's got six hundred, so people wishing him well. And
you're doing okay on Brian.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah, I'm good. I appreciate that crack good stuff. I
love everything that you said. But that was just wild.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I was at this lunch event and I told my girlfriend,
who was there with us, I was like, I don't
know what's going on with my left side. You know,
my left arm's just heavy. My hand was starting to
cramp up. And then when we left the event, we
went to go to a shirt store like men's warehouse.
I needed to grab a couple of shirts, and my

(02:55):
left leg was going weird, you know, it was just
super like just weak, and so I hit up my
sister and she was like, yeah, you need to get
checked out right away. And luckily I went in and
when it was happening, they were able to sort of
counteract it. But it was just wild for a while there.
It was I don't know how to explain that yet.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
What was your actual diagnosis? Are you at Liberty to
men or whatever?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, it was a stroke. They're not sure why yet.
They're trying to figure out why, and they're going to
run some tests and do some other things going forward.
But the funny thing though, Crack is I went to
urgent care and got checked out and the guy initially
he goes, you need your blood work done, so you
need a family doctor, Like, I don't even have a

(03:43):
family doctor. I'm in pretty good health so I don't
even know that. And he's like, yeah, get your blood
drawn so it'll reveal more. It'll help a doctor understand
what's really going on here. And he said, just get
that done, and then he left the room. He came
came back and he did a few more tests and
he was like, you know what, and he said, you know,

(04:04):
if you go to the er, it's minimum of one
thousand dollars when he stepped foot in that place. So
don't worry. Just find a family doctor, get your blood
work done. And then when he came back, he completely
changed his tune and I should have known then something
was going on. He was like, you know what, just
go to the er. It's better to go to the
er right now and find out what's going on. It's
gonna take you weeks, maybe a couple of months to

(04:26):
find a family doctor, so just go there now, find
out what's going on. And I was like, okay. So
I just went straight to the er and one of
the er guys said, hey, we just got a note
from urgent Care. Their doctor said he's having a stroke.
And the guy's looking at me. He's like, they don't
know what they're talking about. You're clearly not having a stroke.

(04:47):
And it was very soon after that. It's exactly what
was happening and strange. Yeah, in the er, I thought,
I thought about you crack where real fast?

Speaker 4 (05:01):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
And this isn't to make light of a serious situation.
I don't know what drug they gave me to basically
as the er guy said, fix your face.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
You know.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Later on they rattled off this drug and the potential
side effects and they said there's a seventy percent chance
all will be okay. And I thought about you, Wow,
racking gambling, ey, seventy percent. That's pretty good, man.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Good. Isn't that amazing what this town does to you
and this business does to you of this town's by
the way, Jeff, where you are is unbelievable medical wise,
by the way, Charlotte, here, all the doctors, the dentists,
the professionals in town, they just can't wait to get

(05:48):
off to go back to the gambling they're doing. I'm
that serious, the doc I'm not trying to be funny.
The doctors in this town are a joke capital j misdiagnosis.
I mean, the biggest thing going. Doctors are all gambling,
playing poker. They nobody cares. It's really a terrible town medically.
And look, look, look at look a look at him.

(06:09):
I mean, look what they said to him. They don't
even know. Yeah, you're fine, get block, where are you
better go? And then when he goes to a supposed
better place and they tell him, nah, you got a
seventy percent chance to be okay, likes. This is insane, insane.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
All I know is that you can place wagers from
the emergency room, which I was. I just know that
that was allowed. Of course, because Brian we were texting,
uh just throughout the days about all this NBA stuff,
because I rely on Brian a lot with his NBA
a knowledge. And he said he's in the R. And
unlike when Cracks showed the story, I did wait a
little bit of time to talk about gambling. But I

(06:44):
think Brian said it to me first because I'm in
the R. Man, I just made a first half wager
sitting I see you because I guess not much to do,
you know, just I think you hit the wager two
with the first half over. I think it was from
the e R. So I'm glad you're doing well.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Good.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
He went out a winner. I don't know if they
all won. It went sitting in the emergency room. But
I'm glad you're you're doing well, and uh yeah, I
mean the thing about you know, I told practice, you know,
on a text, like you just the body man. You
never know, you just never you never know you could
be as healthy. And I still believe in obviously healthy
practices and trying to be something as possible, but in

(07:23):
the end, sometimes you just don't really know. And I'm
glad you're doing well though. Hopefully they figure it out
because it feels like you're important to figure out why, why,
as you know, as healthy as you are, that's happened,
and hopefully I'll answer for you soon. I didn't know.
I didn't know you posted about it on Facebook. I
don't have Facebook, and so I almost text you before

(07:45):
the show was like, hey, I'm not going to mention anything,
like if you don't want to mention it. You had
a whole about it. I don't know. I have a Facebook,
I don't even password. I have no idea to get it.
I've been in three years. I have no idea and
it's like a whole mess to like get in this
two fact, I don't know how to do it. Yeah,
So well, I'm glad you mentioned it because I wasn't
gonna say anything.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yeah, no, no doubt. Yeah, there's a if you ever.
I posted the same video on x as well. Uh
so it's it's living there too, Like Jokic came through
for me one of the bets. Okay, see didn't a
couple of times. But you know, we're flying away from
the ICU. You know, that's just what we do.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
Hey, Brian, what Jeff SAIDs right? So yeah, I text
Jeff on Monday night or yeah, it was like it
was late late Monday night and he said, oh, yeah,
I know what's going on with Brian, but we're too
He actually used the word sickos. We're two sios. We're
talking about sports and what we're betting back and forth. Right,
I'm hoping the kid makes it, and he's just like.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Well it was a good distraction. Look, look, I don't
know if you are. It's a lot of waiting, you know,
if you're like you're just kind of sitting waiting for
a test to be done and blood to be drawn.
I'm I'm like, so the family doctors think I have
a family doctor too, but I haven't seen it like
four years. I probably should see them for a physical,
but like, I don't really like same with you, bron
I don't really have like a primary care physician. I

(09:04):
mean I guess I do. I don't go. I don't.
Maybe we should go more often than get a bloodge
run and have them look at stuff. My wife's always like,
go to your physical. I'm fine. Why would I go
to a physical? Why don't eat my blood? I know
I'm eating too much. No one has to tell me that.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Get somebody else on that.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, sure so, but yeah, I mean, wow, what a process?
I my man.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah, we pulled through. We're good. How about this? If
we uh, if we look at the NBA playoffs, we
dip our toe and the water's over there. Man, what
a difference one game makes. Think of the Celtics Knicks
series where the Celtics dropped the first two games at
home and it's doom and gloom. You know, they can't
buy a three. They were twenty for one hundred from

(09:52):
three point territory in the first two games, twenty for
one hundred, wow. And then yesterday against the Knicks the
Celtics were twenty for for from three and we're just
bombing away.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
Man.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
They're hitting deep shot after deep shot. And so this
series looks completely different after one game. And as great
as the Knicks look the first two games, huge comeback victories,
they lost yesterday by the widest margin. It tied the
worst home loss ever for the New York Knicks in
playoff history. So it's like you go from riding high,

(10:26):
We've got two straight wins on the road to this
ties the biggest home playoff loss ever in franchise history.
And then you look at you look at the Celtics.
They've been a great road team in the playoffs for
a while now, like historically great. So that's that's the
danger for the Celtics, for the the Knicks going forward

(10:46):
is you start giving the defending champs more life. And
this series looks totally different. Here where do you stand, right,
I thanks eventually going to emerge. You go in Celtics
or you going to Knicks over there?

Speaker 4 (10:58):
Crack well, I'll tell you you know, being in town
yesterday there was half points extras all over town. There's
actually six and a half for a minute in this game.
I went in one of the sportsbooks and the sportsbook
directors said, I cannot get any money on the Knicks.
So I can guarantee you that every sportsbook actually lost

(11:21):
money yesterday. They had literally the sharp line, which is
the originating lines, were five and a half. I even
see it five for a while, and yet they had
six and a half's here in town. They had a
couple sixes, and they couldn't get any money on the dogs. Still,
everyone had Boston in their money lines. Throw them in

(11:43):
on the parlay and straight up and oh man, this
was a very big game. I didn't look at the
the schedule here. I don't know if we're getting Christian on,
but if we are, I'm sure he's probably gonna confirm
that bet MGM needed the Knicks in that game yesterday.

(12:04):
But they got their most win game. I guess if
that's what you want to call it. Now, they're a
two sixty favorite to win this series down two to one. Yes,
they shot it better, like you said, from three, hitting
fifty percent, but they also played a lot better defense yesterday.
They could tested most of the Knicks outside shots, as
New York shot like twenty percent from the three point line.

(12:27):
I said it last week before this series even started.
Even though Boston was a nine to one favorite, I
expected them to be a long competitive series. I just
thought it was too much, but I yet I didn't
pull the trigger anyway on the dog. It seemed like
it seems like we're destined for a seven game series
in this matchup. Let's see if the Knicks can get
a win at home Monday and put the pressure back

(12:47):
on Boston. I'll tell you though, boy, there was a
lot of fans that were really ups They were really
looking forward to this game and it just didn't look
like it was going to They were going to have
a shot from the beginning, and they really did so.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
So Jeff, Okay, so do you guys?

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
There have been three fourth quarters in this in this series. Okay,
two have been you know, like close and yesterday was not.
But if you take guess how many points Boston scored
in three fourth quarters, give it a whirl, you know,
I mean, you know it's a thirty quarter, twenty Like
what would you what would you guess? Three?

Speaker 5 (13:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Of course, I know for sure nineteen yesterday, and I
know they've not been killing it. Yeah, right, there are
reasons why we know that. I would guess combined, I
would say lo, I would say somewhere you wouldn't be
bringing it up. If it wasn't staggering, I'd say something

(13:45):
like fifty five points out of those three games.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Fifty two points. Fifty two Yeah, so are you? If
Game four, I imagine, is going to be closer, I'd take
the Knicks at home. If the game is close. Why
would I take Boston? It's the This is so last season, Brian,
You remember this. We talked about Boston same time, right,
like we're like, ah, you know, like I just they're

(14:08):
playing nobody, everyone's hurt. I don't really like their offense. Sometimes. Ye,
they scored a ton of points, but they bogged down
too much and they won the championship. And maybe despite
all of that when we're you know, I think even
those same issues now are more prevalent up. But they're
playing better teams and they yes, they shot really on
the first and it's seventy one first half points, and

(14:29):
then you watch in the fourth quarter and it's like
they just go back to the same bs Iso offense.
I don't understand it. When they were moving the ball yesterday,
and yes, they made their threes, but their threes were
in rhythm of an offense. It wasn't just passed the
ball around the outside shoot of three, it was dribble
to lane, everyone collapses, pass out one, extra pass three,

(14:51):
you know, or it was fake upfake dribble, aly loop dunk,
you know. And then like the more you do of
the variety, then you get better looks from three. And
I know they were uncontested a lot in Game one
and Game two, but they weren't off of good passes
in rhythm, and so they did all that in the
first half. Brian just to do none of it in
the second half, I don't And if they do that again,

(15:12):
and you could tell there were moments of this game
and I was like, oh boy, here we go again.
The Knicks just weren't very good yesterday. I don't trust them.
If this game is close in game four the Celtics,
are you going to? Are you doing? Is Tatam thinks
he's Kobe Bryant at the end of games He's not.
And so if there's a close game again in game four,
which I think just naturally, We'll talk a lot today

(15:33):
about zig zag and how I wager and I know
you do Brian on the postseason or he sort of
zig zag. There's some great spots today. I feel like
with some player props it like you, you would think
the Knicks play better in Game four and if the
game is a ten point game in the fourth quarter,
I like the Knicks to come back and take that
game from Boston. What has Boston showing you? Even in

(15:53):
the Orlando series they're complaining about this. In Orlando series,
they just don't close out games will because they get
this one on one is offense. Brown's a little beat up,
Holly's a little beat up. Tatum has got that wrist.
I think a little bit that's bothering him at times.
It just in Missoula. Who's a I think a good coach,
just doesn't I don't know, I don't know not I
don't So I don't trust him is my point. I

(16:15):
don't trust him in a close game to close out
Game four.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, it's one of these deals where a couple of things.
They remind me of the Warriors a bit, because the
Mark Jackson Warriors were completely different than the Steve Kerr Warriors.
Like all this ball movement and this you know, screens
and action that that was not a part of the
Warriors before Steve Kerr got there. They looked a lot different.

(16:40):
And that's the thing with the Celtics. I just look
at Joe Missoula and I'm like, he he allows too
much ISO stuff to go on. There's so much better
when they move the ball a little bit, they move around,
there's some action as an offense. Instead of like Tatum
can get you a bucket, he can get you a
good shot whenever he wants. And that's nice to rely on.

(17:03):
I'm not saying all things ISO are bad, they just
rely on it way too much and it bogs down
the offense. And I don't know why Missoula he just
allows possession after possession after possession where that happens instead
of he's like, hey, run forty seven or what run
a freaking play, Like let's move the ball a little bit,

(17:23):
and they just get, like Jeff said, bogged down completely.
And I'll say this about Boston, they're a very frustrating
team whichever side you're on, if you fade them, the
Celtics are frustrating because they're really talented and they can,
you know, make your bet go bad easily. And then
if you back them and then you watch this offense
just bog down, You're like, oh, this is just gross

(17:46):
to watch as they're just kind of like staggering to
the finish line. You know, they look like me on Monday.
It's not good. So I get it, Like both sides.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
A joke about having a stroke. You gotta you gotta
get in there. It is. It is infuriating. That's a
good point about them. Like whatever side you're on, it
feels like you're on the wrong side. Now. I was
on Boston for the game because I just the as
a friend of ours crack Sammy p Has the Crippler,

(18:19):
he he was on h he was on the Knicks
in it, and that I took Boston. I took the
Warriors last night too because the Crippler and I ended
up making money, so thank you for that. Barely they
barely got home there. But like, yeah, it's just it's
just it feels like they can just be so much better,
right and they're just not. I mean, that's that's that's
what makes it super frustrating.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
I was on a first.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
I don't know if they were friends or not.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
No, we don't know no, no name of the Cripple,
we don't know who it is. But uh, yeah, so
I I was on I was on Boston for that reason.
I like the wager. I think anyways, I thought they
would win that game. But Game four, man, I think
it's anyone's game. I don't really, I don't know. We've
the numbers at five and a half. Six again, I
would imagine it's about there, right.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
It's about six and a half.

Speaker 3 (19:05):
I think Nicks are super live to be close in
that game, and I think end game is probably a
way to make that wager.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Yeah, yeah, it's it's a wild ride. I'll tell you
real fast. I had a first quarter line on the
Celtics minus two and a half, and I was uncomfortable
the whole time. And they won easily crushed them in
the first quarter because I'm like, this is their season,
you know, and they're just better. They're better than the Knicks.
They have to come out with some focus, and they did.
But the point is even that even though they they

(19:32):
won the first quarter by thirteen points or something crazy,
I have to go back and look, it still wasn't comfortable,
just based on the way they play. So I just
be prepared. I'm sure people out there have bet Boston
backed them, faded them. You're gonna be uncomfortable no matter
which side you're on. It's just the way they play,
and I don't think that's gonna change.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
All right.

(21:17):
wide receiver George Pickens traded from the Steelers to the Cowboys.
Cowboys get a third round pick a fifth round pick.
So there's that. So I think the first part of
this whole discussion is which team do you like to
trade for more? Do you like the Steelers trading George

(21:38):
Pickens away? Or do you like the Cowboys trading for
George Pickens? Right, like Jeffy first first impression here for you?

Speaker 3 (21:48):
Yeah, I mean probably the Cowboys. They needed Pickens, know
they need a second a wide receiver badly. The thing
that will be the judge of this is whether they
give them a second contract or not, right, Broca, that's
the that's that's what really this comes down to is
that if it's a one year rental and it goes well, great,
are you gonna pay him? Though? Are you gonna pay
him a long term contract? He has shown? I think

(22:12):
instability is the right way to put it right in
Pittsburgh in a place that you know, it maybe tolerates
instability a little better than other teams do. Over the years,
we've seen that with all the characters they've had on
their teams, and now that Antonio Brown's out of the NFL,
you feel like they should get a medal for having
dealt with that over the years. So I like it
from that perspective, Absolutely do. But again, are they gonna

(22:35):
pay him or not? That's the big question effort for
now for Dallas, and look him and Lamb together with that,
I mean it's a it's a good offense, Like the
offense line is. They've done well there. They drafted a
guard running back still sort of a question mark, I
think now for for Pittsburgh still, who's throwing the ball
to him?

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:54):
I mean, are they they there? It seems like the
Rogers citizens gonna have at some point, But why not yet? Guys,
we're in the aust program right now. Right, so you're
in the building. If you're an NFL player four hours
a day, three or four days a week, it's not
very much. But this is the time of the year
when you you know, you learn the playbook again if
it's new to you or you're refreshed on it. But

(23:17):
it's it's his team bonding time. It's is chemistry time
right now. And Aaron Rodgers is not there now. We
mocked him last year for missing the Jets mandatory mini
camp to go to Europe or it was the Egypt maybe,
but he was the least there for the other part. Right,
You get to know your teammates, go to dinner, you
hang out, you go to sporting events together. It's you know,

(23:38):
it's a very stress free environment. No one's really getting
released at all. You're not fearful for your job. And
Rodgers is not there right now. And Pittsburgh are going
the season with with their with Mason Rudolph and your
guy Riley Leonard's gonna gonna we talked about earlier. You
can't throw. I mean he put in a natural championship game.
He ran the ball nine times in the first drive

(24:00):
like that shows you, like remember he's thrown up on
the sideline after first he was so exhausted. We had this,
I remember we had this rushing over attempts over fourteen
and a half and he didn't run the ball for
another two quarters. So you're like, come on, come on,
come on, buddy.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
I'm like, Bear gets get six rebounds right away and
you're like, and a half.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yeah, he had seven in the first quarter thin yesterday.
Six to the first quarter yesterday. So you know, crack I.
It doesn't change obviously, win tolls for anybody, but I'm
I'm really honestly, there's under as of right now with
their wins. I know, I know, never finished out to
five hundred, but at some point it does come to
an end and you have an older defense. You have

(24:42):
no quarterback right now, none. Who's your number one wide
out right now in Pittsburgh, Dk, right who's your number
two wide out?

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (24:52):
And guys DKO, I think DK is one of these
guys who is It's just I think he's overrated for
what people think he is. We talked about this often
when it comes just to just to you know, athletes
that we talk about like him. Okay, give me his
signature moment as a wide receiver do you have do

(25:14):
you have one? It's actually him running down a guy
who intercepted remember the Buddha Baker he ran. He doesn't
have like he's made one All Pro in the COVID year.
That's it in a weird year when like you know, otherwise,
that's it two Pro Bowls, one All Pro. He's fine.
He can, he can, he can be good in a

(25:34):
given year, but he's not like a transcendent superstar to
position in my opinion, do you think he is? Brian
I there were times last year just disappeared in the
second half of games. Now, maybe it's Geno Smith throw
on the ball then, but it's not gonna be better
with Mason rudolphro on the ball to him. So I
just think Pittsburgh downgraded in talent right now. I like
some of young offensive linemen, I like Warren, like I

(25:56):
like some of the guys they have there, but like,
who's number two wide receiver? Who who was any offensive
line depth? Who's your quarterback? So crack. Maybe I'm I'm
just too out on the Steelers without seeing their quarterback
right now, But that I think the way you have
to look at them.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
You know, last year, I was in Florida around the
beginning of April and the first season win totals were
put up there and I had wasn't expecting it. I
was just on a little vacation visiting my brother and
Steelers were one of the teams I bet under last
year and the.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Bet lost by the way.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
But however, I think the Steelers lost like their last four.
I mean I lost by half a game, lost by
half a game there. I just that it just seems
like I can't do anything right betting on or against that.
That's my uh my.

Speaker 2 (26:44):
The Celtics the NFL for you.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
Yeah, by the way they have they have Will Howard,
not Rty Leonard. I think the same. They're still at
the same quarterback to me, even though Will Howard can
throw the ball. So I was wrong on that one.
It's Will Howard, who's the quarterback, who'd Roby Leonard get drafted.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
By drafted golds. He's the white Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
It was, it's Will Howard. So it's Will Howard. Mason
Rudolph Schler Thompson did to make a difference Will Howard
or Roddy Leonard. Does that change to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
No, No, it doesn't. No, that was like Notre Dames.
That was a player for Notre Dame. Like they're trying
to get back into the National Championship game against Ohio State.
They were Trey Lane trying to come back, and one
of the best assets was Will Howard just missing a
wide open wide receiver for an easy first down. And

(27:29):
it's like, all right, Irish are in business. They get
the ball back because Will Howard just missed Jeremiah Smith
who is wide open, you know. So the point is,
I don't think Will Howard is going to make a
difference for the Steelers. They don't have a quarterback right now.
They don't. And that's the thing here. The first part
to me is who won the trade? Is this idea that, oh,

(27:52):
it's auditioned by subtraction for the Steelers, that only goes
so far, and I think that's oftentimes a myth. It
really only works for teams that have superior talent in
the first place. So you got to ask yourself, do
the Steelers have superior talent where they can afford to
move a guy like George Pickens, who is incredibly talented
but has been very very immature. Do the Steelers have

(28:14):
superior talent than what the Chiefs, the Bills, these teams
in their conference or even their division, the race visions.
Do they have more talent than those? I would say no.
So this idea that well they gained by subtracting, I
think that only goes so far, and I think oftentimes
we blow that out of proportion. Is there something to

(28:34):
be gained? Yeah, there can be at times, but I
think oftentimes, oh they got rid of that really talented guy,
there's so much better off. Now that's oftentimes not the case.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Well, look when it comes to division winners, Okay, every
year seven of eight, eight of eight teams that win divisions,
it's the best quarterback in division. It's kind of that simple. Now,
you can argue whether Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson who's better, right,
I mean, they're different guys, but they're both equally MVP
caliber players, and that's when the team around you matters.

(29:06):
So in Pittsburgh right now, we're gonna believe that a
combination of Will Howard it maybe and Mason Rudolph maybe
are better than Joe Burrow, who with just a marginally
better defense, the Bengals are a ten win team, right,
eleven win team, the Ravens who continually win ten eleven games,

(29:27):
I just don't buy it. And maybe the Browns, like
the Browns have talent, I don't know who their quarterbacks
end up ultimately being in the end, probably just Joe
Flacco or to start for the season and then one
of the backups of what will come in at some point.
But yeah, I just I'm out on Pittsburgh. It's I'm
just I'm out on the idea of the singers this season,
and at some point it has to end. I think

(29:49):
sort of it feels like the not arrogance is the
wrong word, but sort of the failure to just sort
of say we need to do something different quarterback, you know,
Aaron Rodgers to me, doesn't really you know, it doesn't
really make it, you know, make me feel better about anything,

(30:10):
to be honest with you. By the way, I was
looking to the series also play guys, the NFC West
and the AFC West. It's a hard schedule. It's a
hard schedule for them this year.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Well, I'll tell you what you're speaking about. Great combos.
I just started thinking about, you know, like Jordan and Pippin,
maybe the Blues Brothers. You could go in a lot
of different directions. I'll tell you what, whatever combo you
come up with Isaac Lohenkron and fill in the blank
is a better combo than anything that you can come up.

(30:43):
But that's how strong Eyelo is and what he brings
to the table here. Good morning, Iloh, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Buddy?

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Good morning?

Speaker 7 (30:50):
But you know what you to real MVP to paraphrase
Kevin Durant, so glad you're okay and so glad you're
back with us.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 7 (31:03):
I love and also on a side note, uh to
you in Crack, thank you for the deep dive expos
into the Las Vegas medical care system. Yeah, yeah, that's
food for thought. I'll tell you that anything happens to me,
I'll be like, oh, yeah, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
I'm just gonna.

Speaker 7 (31:22):
Drive a drive over to Henderson or yeah, I'll.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
Just take the fifteen through Utah.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
By the way, we have more positive Vegas related content
coming up as we begin, though, with Game three of
the NBA's Western Conference SEBI Finals on Saturday night, the
Minnesota Timberwolves whatning at Golden State one two to ninety
seven for two games to one lead. Anthony Edwards scored
thirty six, including the clinching three pointer with one nineteen
to play. Julius Randall came through with a triple double

(31:52):
twenty four points, ten rebounds, twelve assists at astounding finish.
In the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday, the Golden Knights
of Vegas and the Edmonton Oilers tied at three in
the final seconds of the third period of their Game three.
Here were Dan Duva and Gary Lawless on Fox Sports

(32:13):
ninety eight point nine and thirteen forty Las Vegas.

Speaker 8 (32:17):
Five seconds centered off the stick and the slot.

Speaker 3 (32:20):
Smith gets around the goaliegue.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
They scored.

Speaker 9 (32:23):
No, it's waved off. They wave it off. The referee
waved his arm saying no. The Golden Knights think they've won.
They won zero point four.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
The puck to wycross the.

Speaker 7 (32:35):
Line bawl Riley Smith the game winner. It actually went
off the stick of Edmonton's Leon dry Sidle. It hit
the camera in the net and bounced out. Vegas wins
it four to three. Edmonton still leaves the series two
games to one. And in Major League Baseball on Saturday night,
the San Diego Padres, what at Colorado twenty one to nothing?

(33:00):
So get this, guys. The Rockies have allowed fifty five
runs over the last three days. That's the most runs
a major league team has allowed in a three day
span in seventy five years, since the Saint Louis Browns
in June of nineteen fifty.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Back to you, guys, Wow, thank you Ilo. It is
Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by bet MGM. How about that, Jeff,
you were just talking about the Celtics. Yeah, in three
fourth quarters against the Knicks, they've scored fifty two points.
Think about that in basketball. Meanwhile, the Colorado Rockies over
three games have allowed fifty five runs. They've allowed more

(33:43):
runs than the Celtics have scored fourth quarter points.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
They've allowed at least eight runs down six straight games.
I think I told you guys you last year I
have faded the White Sox every game, and this year
I have faded the Rockies pitching staff every game. I've
bet the team total over for their opponent game this season.
And let's see, it's hitting one, two, three, four, five, six,

(34:06):
seven straight games. It took a little pause for three
games and it was one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
seven games in a row there. It's been very profitable
this year. The Rockies, I have a I pull up
all the numbers right here. They allow almost seven runs
a game a season. Their era is nearly six, their
whip is one point sixty three. The pony battle average

(34:28):
is nearly three hundred in baseball in twenty twenty five.
So I will be on the the projects again today
it's seven and it's over seven and a half. I
think plus one hundred or over six and a half
and minus one forty. I think I'll give you guys
a better number what I determined later. I haven't made
that wager yet, but it will be played today.

Speaker 4 (34:44):
You know that. That's right. Jeff is spot on about that.
One of my buddies, Fez, just sent me that over
six and a half minus forty that number, but uh yeah,
that that's uh, that's a one.

Speaker 3 (34:56):
BENMGM has that. By the way, a lot of people
don't have the alternate right the and a half there's
giving you seven outs. Bet MGM is one of the
places that gives you a lot of options on totals.
And I'm okay paying the forty cents for the run.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Sure, yeah, yeah, no, it makes sense absolutely all right.
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight

of us fades the Rockies. You know which one claims
that one first. So we'll fight like wolverines to get

(35:56):
that leg on our side. We'll compare notes.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Next.

It is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown, presented by Bett MGM.
And it's not for the tire rack. Play of the day.

Speaker 8 (36:23):
For five seconds, center it off the stick and the
slot Smith cats around the goalie.

Speaker 1 (36:28):
They scored.

Speaker 9 (36:29):
No, it's waved off. They wave it off. The referee
waved his arms saying no. The Golden Knights think they've won.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
They won dear.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Old point four.

Speaker 4 (36:40):
The puck completely across the line.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Wow, the most climactic moment was anti climactic by the
refs saying no goal. Initially, it's like only a buzzer
beater to win Game three and give the Golden Knights
life there, but I get it. It was close. It's
like remember the Derek Fisher shot with the lakerspo point four.
Meagine if the refs were like, no, good doesn't count,

(37:06):
and then they're reviewed it and they're like, actually it
is good. You win dramatically. It is weird. That's what
happened in the hockey game last night. But that is
your ti IRAQ Play of the Day. It's courtesy of
Fox Sports Las Vegas ninety eight nine FM and thirteen
forty AM. For over forty years, ti Iraq has been

we go right from that to this.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
Check this out our late letter.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
Ah, yes, the platter. We each have one selection for you.
We pull it together for a greater payout crack. We
start with you, man, what do you like?

Speaker 4 (37:51):
Well, I am gonna go with I just sent you
guys on the text over at PTMGM the Nationals minus
one five in the first five innings, a really good
line over there on Beta MGM. And I did check
out a couple other things. Some of those things that
Jeff said. Lots of the sportsbooks in the world do
not have the alternative team total in baseball. But for

(38:13):
this parlay platter, let's stick with the Nationals minus one
fifty five in the first five.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
I will think about the Padres and Rockies team total.
Things like the Padres don't score a lot of runs,
and yet they've scored bazillion runs last two games. So
it does worry me. Today, I'm gonna look out the
parlay platter. I'm gonna go with Pacers plus one and
a half points for the first quarter today. They MARACTI
came back and tied the first quarter in Game three.

(38:40):
There they didn't play well in Game three. They're back
at home. Brian knows this. We've talked about this. The
Pacers starting five, TANGI start really fast to cover a
bunch of first quarters. I looked up the Cavs made
their first five to three pointers to start the game.
I don't expect that to happen in Game four. I
don't know the Calves are gonna be fine today, But Brian,
I like depictures to start fast in this game. Try
to get out to early. And look about Hollyburnon, I

(39:02):
would imagine later I'm on him today. He was horrendous
in Game three. I don't understand how you can be
a leader to observe your team and end up with
a triple single in a playoff game at home in
Game three, but that's what he did. How'd you hit
zero zero rebounds, which is like shocking, How does that happen? Nonetheless,
PACER's first quarter plus one and a half.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
Okay, I'm on the Calves team total over. I'm on
over one seventeen and a half. For a couple of reasons.
The Calves have scored at least fifty points in the
paint in each of their three games against the Pacers.
They are killing them in the paint and a lot
of that is on Miles Turner. Miles Turner is like,
we need a new phrase here, Okay, because we always

(39:47):
talk about rim protection, we need to talk about paint
protection because the Calves have that With Jared Allen. Evan
Mobley is sensational defensively and that's a big reason why
I like Halliburtons assists because he's not gonna look to
finish among the trees as much. He's gonna try to
drive and kick. But if you look at the Cavs,
Donovan Mitchell is finishing in the paint at will, they

(40:09):
cannot stop this freaking guy. So if you're able to
score a fifty plus and the paint on the regular,
I like your team total over. So I'll go with
that coming up next. Why do we celebrate this guy
and talk? Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you,
Happy Mother's Day to all the great mamas out there.
We will get to the nickelback of the NFL here momentarily. First,

(40:33):
I'll be sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio
YouTube channel. Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and
you'll see a whole bunch of video highlights from our shows.
And be sure to subscribe to you always have instant
access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. All right, Jeff,
you might hate me for this entry point here if
you will, But your best buddy in the whole NFL

(40:55):
world that would be Derek Carr. Unfortunately, he is retired
due to a show older injury that has been nagging,
to say the least, and he walks away from the NFL.
Here and just looking at Derek Carr, he is the
nickelback of the NFL. No one says one good thing
about nickelback, and many would argue, nor should they, right,

(41:16):
but no one says anything good about Derek Carr. It's all, Oh,
this guy, you can't win. That's just the way it
goes with Derek Carr. And I've tried to wrap my
mind around it. I'm not making Derek Carr out to
be this top ten outstanding quarterback because he isn't. He
was an average quarterback for eleven years, but he made

(41:38):
it to the Pro Bowl four times. And it's just
funny to me if you compare him to another quarterback
who's comparable, like where they got drafted in the second round.
Expectations there weren't these crazy high expectations for Derek Carr.
He didn't win a national title at a major university
or I don't know it was this top prospect. Was

(41:59):
it like that? So I could understand it if he's
delivering less than what's expected and then all of a
sudden we're just bent out of shape and bad mouthing him.
But that was never the case either. But if you
compare Derek Carr to Geno Smith, who's now you know,
he had a resurgence with the Seahawks. Now what the
raid is, We'll see what he does. It's funny to me, right,

(42:21):
Like if you look at Derek Carr, four time Pro bowler,
Geno Smith, two time Pro bowler, Derek Carr career passer
rating ninety two point eight, which is average, Gino Smith
under that eighty eight. And yet we'll talk about Geno
Smith like, oh, this guy like Wow, look at Geno. Man,
he's dealing in. Derek Carr has never been like that,

(42:44):
and it's just funny to me. Why that is. I'm
not quite sure.

Speaker 3 (42:49):
First of all the Geno stuff, I don't know who
we is. I've never talked about Geno like that. Actually
faded Geno many times because I just don't I think
his story. People like a story better than actual play.
He started fast two years ago for the first month
of the season, and since that he's not been the
same quarterback ever. I don't get this Rainers thing either
of this year. People are like, go, Gino's gonna come

(43:10):
in and make the Raiders that much better. I mean,
he's better what they've had, but what he's not been good,
He's like average at best. It's a story we like,
and Derek Carr has been average at best in his
entire career, and I think that the pushback has always
been that people have tried to make him something that
he's not, which is better than he is, and he's

(43:31):
perfectly average. He's perfectly in the middle. One season of
his career he was finished third MVP voting in that year. Unfortunately,
he couldn't even play in the playoff game, which he
was hurt. But I'm gonna look this up now. I
think I'm correct on this. No playoff wins. Correct, they
lost in Cincinnati few years back, Like, I mean, okay,

(43:54):
Like he's perfectly he's been perfectly like, yeah, they played
one playoff game, he's lost, like perfectly average, Like this
team doesn't win a ton play a lot of playoff games.
He's but it's fine. They beat the Chiefs few years ago. Like,
he's had some good moments in his career, but to me,
perfectly fine. I have not looked this up, so forgive me.

(44:15):
I should probably looked this up. Did the Saints win
total change it all after he retired, Like, is anyone like, oh, well,
now the Saints they're they're they're better or worse now
and now, of course factoring that in his shoulder was
already hurt in the win total, But like, I just
don't think anyone's like, oh now the Saints are that
much better, that much worse. He's just perfectly average court,
which is he's made one hundred and ninety one million dollars.

(44:36):
He's had a good career. It's interesting because the first
thing I thought about, by the way is the business
of football, because if he's on injured reserve, if he
had surgery in reserve, he gets his entire salary this season.
It's the whole thing, and he by retiring, he doesn't.
But they worked out a deal where he has to
keep his signing bonus and then not give back money

(44:56):
that he would have to give back. So if you
retire early into a contract, typically you have to give
back some of your signing bonus. The way it's structured
that that's how the NFL make sure guys don't get
big sign buds and then just quit on the team.
You know and so, but so they decide to basically
call it even. We'll give you your ten MILLI dollars
roster bonus, you won't owe anything to us, and you're
off our books. So it worked out actually better for

(45:18):
the Saints in the end. I was surprised you retired
and did get surgery. I've been there before, though, Like,
do I want to get surgery and maybe not be
one hundred percent healthier? Just call a career cracked. It's
calling it a career. But I just say, Brady, he's
perfectly average. And I think people tried to make him
more than he is. And and this is not what
his career.

Speaker 4 (45:35):
Was, so jeff, what happens now? So the I think
he had that last contract was a four years, one
hundred and fifty million dollars.

Speaker 3 (45:41):
Yeah, so basically, so okay, so your signing bonus, you
get all up front, right, and then it's pro rated
on the on the on the salary cap. They pro
rated out through the four years to spread the money
out right, So if you retire too soon, you have
to give back the money that basically is pro rated
even though you already have it. If that makes sense.
It's at the tyrant. So guys don't work. So like,

(46:04):
let's I got a four year deal and I got
ten millillars signing boats and I just said, ah, I'm retiring.
I mean you could do that right, just keep your money.
But the NFL says, no, no, you owe us X
amount of money. So they're forgiving that. They're forgiving that.
They're saying, you don't have to pass back. We'll give
you your ten million dollars roster bonus, and then we're just
not going to give you the rest of your contract
because you're retired. So the Saints are saving money by

(46:27):
him retiring and just not clawing back.

Speaker 4 (46:29):
This is a bad financial move by car though.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
I mean, here's the deal, So here's the trade off. Okay,
you made your two million dollars. I look up what
a salary would have been this season. You made two
million dollar? Is it worth you know?

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (46:46):
You know he's getting a ten roster bone. He's not
giving money back, which I don't know how much you
have to give back. Is it worth let's say twenty
million more dollars to get surgery essentially right, just like
I think for him his salary this.

Speaker 4 (46:58):
Year, I'm reading like a million reading.

Speaker 3 (47:01):
Well, it says here that it's always it's always hard
to tell in these websites. It has seven million dollars,
but that feels not right. Cap it fourteen million? I know.
The point is, like he's debating this crack. Do I
just say I'm done, I played my career, I made
my money. Or is it worth it to like going
into reserve and then crack too? The thing about it

(47:22):
is if you go, if you get surgery, you then
have to rehab like you're gonna play again. So like
you can't just say I had surgery. Oh I'm just
I'm retiring now. No, the Saints are gonna rehab you.
They're gonna think you're coming back. Right, you can go
through the whole process of rehabbing for a year to
maybe just again retire in a year from now.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
And like you said, the guy made like, yeah, two
hundred million for let's just call him a mediocre quarterback.
I mean, a ridiculous amount of money in a zero
playoff wins, regular season record seventy seven and ninety two.

Speaker 3 (47:55):
Just for me, just like it's just it was it
was better, you know before the last couple year. Well,
I just think, like again he he just when guys
are close to retirement, it's better to just retire than
it is to stick it. Well, that's why the Aaron
Rodgers thinking like, dude, just retire, just be you want
to retire, just be done with it. And so I
give car credit for saying, like, look, man, I've had

(48:16):
my career. I'm not getting surgery. You know, I think
he has his ministry that he wants to be a pastor.
I think I'm right on that, like he has another
I think too. That's one decision here, Sorry, brod I
he cutting you off. There's one decision here, right, when
players already sort of have a second path, like Rogers
to me has no second path. Is podcast is like
like it's not a second back, as I say, as

(48:41):
I podcast, but you know, like car sort of has
this next life already ready for him, and so it
makes it much easier to say I'm done playing football,
I'm not getting surgery, and I can go do my ministry,
or I can do something you know, related to religion
and by church and already have I'm sure he jumped
in today. It was like he has another life and

(49:04):
that makes it a lot easier to retire.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
How about the pressure on this kid, though Tyler's show.
How about the pressure on him. He's really only played
one full season without injury, So, oh man, he's.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
Older than you. He's had life, he's had life opportunity.
He was justin Herbert's backup at Orgon right, right, Okay,
that's crazy. You think.

Speaker 2 (49:26):
Sixteen seems so long ago?

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it five and a half.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
By the way, that's what's weird to me though, is
it's it's interesting how Derek Carr has always looked at
and I trust me, I'm not trying to prop this
guy up like he was a difference maker. He was
the definition of average for eleven years. But you can
do a whole lot worse than average. And it's just
funny how he's always viewed from like this negative point

(49:53):
of view, where you know, if you look at his
his overall record, yeah, he has a losing record. Some
of that that is on him. Some of that's the
beginning of his career with the Raiders, who were a
grease fire like talent wise. I think it was zero
to ten to start his career, and I remember maybe
that's what started it. There's so many people like, oh,

(50:14):
Derek Carr, and I'm like, have you seen that roster?
I don't know who's working wonders with that roster. And
and the other part of this is okay, Again, passer
rating is just an entry point. It's not the end
all be y'all. But if you look at Derek Carr's
passer rating was ninety two point eight for his career,
league average last season was ninety two point three. Right,

(50:35):
So he's basically given you average quarterbacking for eleven years. Again,
you can't do worse. But if you look at a
guy like bow Knicks. Bo Nicks with the Broncos last
season successful rookie year, twenty nine touchdown passes, twelve picks,
threw for over thirty seven hundred yards, a ton of
completions all that. Bo Nicks's passer rating last year was
ninety three point three. Like in the same zip code,

(50:58):
Like they're on the same cold the sack their neighbors,
Derek Carr and bow Knicks. The question is would the
Broncos sign up today for another decade of production as
what bow Knicks did. Absolutely they would. And all we're
doing is crushing Derek Carr for doing exactly that. It's
just funny to me how that works.

Speaker 3 (51:18):
I mean, I think part of it is obviously you
know his brother and the way he had his NFL career,
go plays a role and had a discussion about him,
and also to like I try to I don't think
I'm I'm on this way with the way I talk
about it, like he blocked me on social media, Like
it's just like he does. He's done like things like
that where you're like, I never talked. I went when
he when he when I realized he blocked me, I

(51:38):
went and looked. I never tweeted once about him, like
it's like the other media members said, Derek Carr, I've never.

Speaker 4 (51:47):
After him just based on I don't care gp.

Speaker 3 (51:51):
G but like but like it just it. I don't crack.
I blocked op of people to don't worry it's not
but don't have a reason for it. I just don't.
I don't block him without actually actually tweeting about them. Ever.
So I mean those you know, rub people the wrong way. Sometimes.
You know, his brother, who I have a brother, had
a brother in the NFL. I get defending your brother
on on on the media, but it was so over

(52:14):
the top, like your his brother would be like best
card of the NFL, Derek Carr. You're like, what right,
just be honest. Your brother doesn't think he's the best
quarterback in the NFL. Why why would you say that?
Like so, I mean all those things are the narrative. Look,
my brother was really good. I could get on and
say my brother was four time all pro like I
could say that about Mitch because he was that good.

(52:36):
You can't say about Derek Carr. He wasn't that good.
So I think that contribute to all of it. But
again to Brian's point, still a good career, still made
a lot of money. Second round quarterbacks typically don't have
the careers that that the card. I have a question
for you, Brian, as a Dolphins fan. Yeah, would you
have taken like prime Derek Carr over to.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
I mean, that's that's a terrible reality, But there's not
much separating to A from Derek Carr.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
That's my thing about I think like Derek Carr is
in the group of just good needs a lot of
help to win a playoff game quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
Right right right, Like to me, Derek Carr and Tua
they're these like second tier quarterbacks where you need a
lot around them. And we all know you're screwed if
you don't have a quarterback. But they are examples of
when you pay an average quarterback elite money. You're screwed
that way too, because you have to skimp elsewhere on

(53:39):
the roster and they're not good enough to compensate for that.
And that's the reality of where you are. So these
teams and they'll cling to those guys like, oh, at
least he's you know, adequate, but you're paying him way
more than he he's able to produce, and you're just
not gonna get anywhere. So it's like, Okay, you've got
someone that's you know, like a legit option, but you

(54:03):
don't have someone that can give you a return on
your investment. That's like, you know, like if you buy
a car. I love my Nissan Ultima, it's not worth
one hundred thousand dollars. That's the way these NFL contracts
work with quarterbacks. If I paid one hundred thousand dollars
for my Nissan Ultima, that is a terrible investment. And

(54:24):
that's what teams do. They invest. They over invest in
quarterbacks who are average or good, but they're not special,
and they're paying them as if they're special, and they're
not gonna get anywhere. They're gonna win. They're gonna be
a middleing eight, nine to ten win team and go
nowhere in the playoffs, and that's where they're gonna be
for however long they have those quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (54:43):
I think is I have defended teams that pay quarterbacks
because you know, like the Dolphins, what are they gonna do?
But they don't they have to pay two or they
have to start over again and depend on a certain
draft class. Like you know this now, I would say
that like to it doesn't work out this year. This
draft class is this is the year the quarterback. I
mean they're going to be seven guys in the first round.

(55:03):
I mean they're gonna be Yeah, go look at any
mock drafting that doesn't even include I think some guys
that are gonna be first round picks. This is the
year if you want a quarterback. So, like, I could
understand if a lot of teams this year move off guys.
But if I would have told you the Dolphins should
not pay two and go in this draft class, it
would have been like, oh, you know right. So sometimes
they just they have to. They don't have a choice.

(55:24):
But again, but I will say that I think that
that again to a car, these guys are good, not great.
Have to have a lot of round them. It doesn't
mean the NFL career is bad though, now Tua and
car though, to be fair Cars second round picked too,
is a first round pick. You have to judge them
off off where you're drafted. Unfortunately that's not fair to
some guys, but that's the way your career ultimately gets

(55:45):
looked at. First round pick, second round pick. How's your
career go off of that?

Speaker 2 (55:49):
That's right, like car was thirty sixth overall, Tua was
fifth overall, one spot ahead of Herbert, you know, and
it's like, well that's a different tax bracket all together.
Over the top five pick, the expectation should be a
lot higher. I just it's a good point. The timing matters.
But I give the Broncos credit where they're like, what,

(56:10):
we're moving off Russ right, like, we're paying him way
too much money. He's not productive to the same level
as what we're paying him, and their whole thing it
was like, okay, so what's your plan? Who are you
gonna draft? What are you gonna do? They're like, I
don't know, We'll just kind of figure it out as
we go along. They're just like, we know we're moving
on from Russ, and they drafted bon Knicks and through

(56:32):
one year that was a successful rookie year for boon Knicks,
So we'll see where it goes from here. But the
Broncos are an example of a team that's just like,
we don't have a defined Plan B, but we'll figure
it out as we go along. And we do know
Plan A ain't working, so we're not sticking to something
that isn't working. There are a lot of teams that
don't do that. They're like, well, we've got a quarterback

(56:54):
that isn't a disaster, so let's overpay him. And that's
just a bad way to go.

Speaker 4 (56:59):
Man.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
I would rather go back into the draft and swing
for the fences, like my griefs did you know? And
there's a chance that you could crap out. Yeah, you're
not gonna get the next Mahomes that you hit a
Grand Slam. It's not gonna happen. But you know, you
could have a far worse quarterback. But at least you
have the chance to be better and maybe much better,
and to me, is a much better path.

Speaker 3 (57:22):
I've said this, you know quite often I think that
you just have to keep swinging the draft. You find
someone and yeah you might not like you know the ultimately,
how how that feels, or like what you have to
do for that, But it's a most important position in
all sports. You have to keep taking swings.

Speaker 2 (57:38):
You do, you do absolutely and some of these teams
are swinging from the heels to find a guy and
other teams aren't. The Saints, they could have drafted Shador
Sanders ninth overall, we thought that might be a landing
spot for him, you know, and he goes one forty
fourth overall and instead they have Tyler Shuck. It's gonna
be interesting to compare those two quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (57:59):
Shut think about think about this though. The Saints, I
would imagine knew the severity of of the injury to Carr,
and what is I would imagine he told them before
he's been thinking about retiring. I don't think it's just
like right, yeah, yeah, and they still passed on Sir Anders.

Speaker 2 (58:20):
Yeah, totally right.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
And I know at some point, you know, and we
we've already seen like the distraction, right Like chemist the
Fanski asked day one of mini camp, why is Dylan
Gabriel getting reps over Sirs Sanders? That this is why
all this stuff about distraction, This is why you don't
want to be doing these questions all the time. But
they still can. They chose to go in that direction,

(58:44):
Like knowing that Carr was going to be out potentially
for a long time, they said, now we're out on Sanders.

Speaker 4 (58:50):
Yeah, guys over on bet MGM. But they have something
that's very interesting that I don't know. I can't name
a single site that does this. So I went to
New Orleans Saints regular season wins. You can bet over
under two and a half, four and a half, six
and a half, eight and a half, or ten and
a half wins. So I'll use a medium number here.

(59:10):
Let's use the six and a half under six and
a half minus a dollar eighty five the car tree.
The car retirement did affect this, just to let you know.
It was not that number, So it moved about thirty
or forty cents. But over on bet MGM, you can
a variety of options there for each team season wins.

(59:31):
One of the reasons why we love them. So there
you go.

Speaker 2 (59:33):
Yeah, no doubt, And that's a little bit of a move.
To Jeff's point, if this is an actual difference maker,
you're gonna see crazy movement. If Patrick Mahomes is like,
I'm retiring, it's for.

Speaker 3 (59:46):
Guests four wins.

Speaker 2 (59:51):
Absolutely. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to our Saints Panthers
yearly wager, Jeff, But based on principle, I think we
have to make it again.

Speaker 3 (59:59):
You know, I like the Panthers. I think the Panthers
could be a playoff team.

Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
Yeah, hey, they're moving in the right direction. There's no
doubt We've got Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran Bill

Speaker 2 (01:01:16):
All yes, please to welcome in Christian Cipolini, bet MGM
Trading manager, joining us here today. What's going on, Christian?
How are things?

Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (01:01:25):
Yeah, after Mother's Day, it's a little bit quiet today,
but you know, a good Sunday.

Speaker 2 (01:01:30):
Nonetheless, Absolutely, that's good man. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
So yesterday we were we were talking to Seamus McGee
of bet MGM, and he was like, we can't find
anyone to bet on these knicks, right, do you have
anything similar today with basketball hockey? Any any team that
you're trying to get action on.

Speaker 5 (01:01:52):
Yeah, probably from a hockey standpoint, we'd like to get
a little bit more of Winnipeg Jets bets, just a
lot of stars action. But the rest of the we're
actually doing okay, you know that Thundered Nugget series. We're
actually getting pretty decent two way action just off the
fact that the Nuggets have won a couple of games
here and Pacers Calves with the Calves injuries, even though
they're that are all back healthy today. The fact that

(01:02:13):
the Pagers WI look pretty good is able to drive
us some at least a little bit of two way actions.
So not as bad as the Knick series that the
Seams was talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
I'm curious how much money or action you saw on
the Celtics down two to win the series, the Calves
down two to win the series. Did you see a
wagers come in from people just trying to get me
a little more value on them to come back in
those series?

Speaker 5 (01:02:40):
Yeah, we haven't. It annoys me a little bit that
Boston went down to nothing quickly because they were we
were in a fantastic position when it came to them.
Our two biggest winners from the future standpoint on the
NBA Finals is the Thunder and the Celtics. We're the
two biggest favorites. So the fact that people are now
able to just kind of get a better price and

(01:03:00):
they basically they have all season on the Celtics, we've
definitely seen them come in. Even yesterday we took a
fifty k beat on the Celtics Final Future at plus
three twenty five, So yeah, definitely, just because I mean
this is if you're looking at from the Celtics perfective.
This is the best number basically you've had on the
fall season. So people see that, they understand that probably

(01:03:21):
decent chances will come back, and especially after last night,
so we're definitely seeing a lot of action, a lot
more than I would like.

Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
Christian, I'm friends with you know, some of the bookmakers
here in town. Well at least they portray they're my friends.
But yeah, so but anyway, you know, here in this town,
it's it's a tough sell. And I've said this on
our program before when they have their monthly meetings and oh,
what do we make in slots? How much we make

(01:03:50):
in black check? What do we make in petty slots?
What do you making? You know, food restaurants? And then
they have to say, oh, we had a losing month
in a sports book, like no one doesn't happen often,
But the pencil pushers upstairs don't seem to understand that,
now do you, guys, because you're a bet MGM sportsbook brand,
like you do have those same losing days though, like

(01:04:13):
I would think that yesterday was a losing I know
here I was out and about it was probably a
losing day NBA basketball wise because of the Celtics. But
I'm sure you have bosses above that understands the trials
and tribulations of this industry. But from a personal level,
before you even join this industry, are you surprised that

(01:04:36):
sportsbooks do have losing days, that you guys have days that, hey,
the betters, even though they're laying eleven to ten or
even more, they get the best to you sometimes. Is
that a shocking revelation or did you kind of expect it?

Speaker 5 (01:04:49):
Yeah, so I came from the casino industry too, which
obviously what you're talking about, and there's not too many
losing days.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
From that shorepoint.

Speaker 5 (01:04:55):
Usually I want to jack on it. So it was
at least for me a little bit different to be like, oh, wow, like,
you know, we can't take any bets on you know,
a sham of suggest that we can't take any bets
on the Knicks and the Celtics one by one hundred.
You know, those type of things happen in in sports,
and sometimes it's just the way that it rolls, and
then it's definitely different. Yeah, it's just all of a sudden,

(01:05:17):
what are we gonna do everybody's bet betting on the Celtics.
You know, there's we can move the line as much
as we can to try and encourage the mixed action,
but sometimes it is what it is, and you know,
people don't want to bet on the Cleveland Browns no
matter what number.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
We kind of get them.

Speaker 5 (01:05:30):
Right, So so so really, you know, there's luckily from
up top, you know us a bet of GM. They're
well aware that this is this is how it goes.
You know, it ebbs and flows, and there's good months
and every now and then there there is some bad months.
So we just try to mitigate as much as we
can on those bad months and hope to roll with
it on the good months and try to talk about
them sometimes.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
So Christian, if you look at these teams in the
NBA playoffs that have a two to one lead, there's
still long shots to win a championship, right, So you
have Minnesota's nine to one, Nuggets are eleven to one,
Knicks are twenty to one, and the Pacers are thirty
to one to win it all. With those teams having
two to one leads, which team have you seen the

(01:06:12):
most uptick in in terms of people betting that they
will win it all.

Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
It's definitely been The Nuggets are the ones you're talking there.
You know, they've actually been a pretty decent price at
some points in the season. I know, not too long
ago there were there were sixty seven to one, so
we definitely took some action there. And the fact that,
like you know, they're already up to one on these
Thunder team. If they do beat the Thunder, you would
have given them a pretty good shot to suddenly go

(01:06:37):
ahead and win it win it all here. So and
off the back that you know, they have arguably the
best player in the league and you know, have already
won a championship, so that makes it pretty easy to
bet on. And as of right now, they're our biggest
liability and we have seen an uptick in the last
week too.

Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
I want to get a baseball question here. As the
general public caught on to how bad the Rockies are yet,
I don't They've They've allowed nearly seven runs a game,
They've won six games, and it's May eleventh for people
who know that the season starts in March. So as
a general public, I mean, I know the poet or
the run line is two and a half today, but

(01:07:13):
I mean that's gonna happen every now and then. But
are people just fading the Rockies every day?

Speaker 5 (01:07:19):
Yeah, I mean I feel like you're right. It is
not talked about that they are on a historic pace,
even from you know, watching the White Sox last year, right, right,
they don't. They don't pace on twenty four games, so.

Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
You know, more decently through the season, we.

Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
Are a decent sample size of this point. Oh yeah,
I mean it's always, uh, the team that they're playing
is always a big favorite, so sometimes that discourages people
a lot. But yeah, when the Rockies playing, we do
not take many bets on them.

Speaker 4 (01:07:48):
You know, that was gonna be my question something like
this to further expand on this, Like right now I'm
looking at my screen. You guys have minus three point
fifty on San Diego. Nobody that's close. I mean everyone
is minus three to one, minus two ninety six, minus
three zero six. So you guys don't want anything to
do with anyone betting San Diego. But I guess you

(01:08:12):
have to expect that. But do you actively say, guys,
let let's make this uh, We're gonna make anyone that
wants to play with us against this Colorades, rotten Colorado team,
they're gonna have to lay a little bit more, or
do you just go by you know what the general
line is what some of the openers do, or but
like I said, by seeing this line, you guys are

(01:08:32):
out of whack compared to the market. But then again,
I don't blame you. Is that something that's put into
that line or or not?

Speaker 3 (01:08:39):
Really?

Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
Yeah, so from this one, you know, we just have
a lean that's telling us that, you know, with the
markets essentially at you know, minus three twenty five is
to minus three thirty ish, but we have a lean
that it should be a little bit higher. So that's
why we're on the on that side of the spectrum. Basically,
this is as far as we can possibly go without
getting too too far, you know, away from market value.

(01:09:01):
And yeah, just internally that's where our lean goes, and
that's why we're going there. You know, it just might
in general always be leaning against the Rockies. It's just
from how our model builds, say, sure, but just just
for at least for today's purposes, that's we're leaning.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
So that's where we end up. As the publicing thing too.

Speaker 5 (01:09:16):
I have to I'd have to dive a little deep
to really see.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
What the public after seeing a twenty one nothing Saturday
weekend when everyone's off game, it's gonna it would take
really a real ballsy person to come in here and
take man. I love Colorado today, Like you know, it
really would. So good stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:09:36):
That's essentially the you know, the line that we're going
with here is you know you want to take it,
We'll give you a better price. Somebody coming to.

Speaker 3 (01:09:41):
The Rockies for us.

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
That's right, all right, Christian, Hey, great stuff is all
so much. I hope you have a good day and
a good weekend. We'll catch you soon.

Speaker 5 (01:09:49):
Yeah, you're too, good luck everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:09:51):
Yeah there is Christian Sippolini bet MGM trading manager. Very nice.
I like how he was talking about leans. You know,
we gotta lean. We're gonna lean in to some Isaac
Lowencron right, Jo, that's always our lean. It's always a
smart play. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
I Low?

Speaker 7 (01:10:06):
Hello, fellas a lot going on, so let's get right
to it. Across the board started with Game three of
the NBA's Western Conference semi Finals on Saturday night, saw
the Minnesota Timberwolves what at Golden State on two to
ninety seven for a two games to one lead. Anthony
Edwards scored thirty six, including the game clinching three porter
with one nineteen left to play. Julius Randall a triple

(01:10:27):
double with twenty four points, ten rebounds and twelve assists.
And the Stanley Cup playoffs. On Saturday night, the Vegas
Golden Knights and Edmonton Oithers tied at three in the
final seconds of the third period of Game three. Here
were Dan Duba and Gary lawllits on Fox warts ninety
eight nine and thirteen forty Las Vegas.

Speaker 8 (01:10:46):
Five seconds centered off the stick and the sun Smith
gets around the goalieue they scored.

Speaker 9 (01:10:51):
No, it's waved off. They wave it off. The referee
waved his arms saying no. The Golden Knights they've they
won zero point four. The puck to quin across the line.

Speaker 7 (01:11:04):
Store Vegas wins the game four to three. Edmonton still
leaves the series two games to one. Baseball Saturday night,
the San Diego Padres what at Colorado twenty one to nothing,
the Rocky six and thirty three times the nineteen eighty
eight Baltimore Orioles for the worst thirty nine games start
in the majors in the last one hundred and thirty years. Finally,

(01:11:27):
let's end on a more upbeat note. Last night there
was a George Strait and Chris stapleson concert at The
Link in Philadelphia. People out there, I wonder if they're
familiar with the Chris Stapleton song Tennessee Whiskey. Well, last night, backstage,
Chris Stapleton himself was serenaded with Tennessee Whiskey by a

(01:11:52):
special guest. Listen, Yes, you're sweet.

Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
So what do you think of that?

Speaker 2 (01:12:17):
It's good? Yeah, I gotta guess, Can I guess who
that is?

Speaker 1 (01:12:20):
For it?

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
I know Jordan Mylatta has got some pipes.

Speaker 1 (01:12:24):
Good for you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Yeah, he's a really good singer.

Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
Good stop.

Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
Back to you guys, very nice, well done. I low
music trivia. Love this. It's Fox Sports Radio's Countdown, presented
by Bett MGM. Okay, we only have about a minute,
but I wanted to throw this at you. Guys. Have
you heard you remember this commercial? You might? This is old,
old school, but it made me think of the NBA Playoffs.
Listen to this.

Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
They make money of the old fashioned glade they.

Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
Named right, it's the old commercial they I was just Yeah,
you're right. I was just thinking about the favorites in
the NBA playoffs the second round, and a lot of
them are facing a deficit right now. But which favorite
do you think it's gonna have to work the hardest,
you know, like sweat the most to earn a second

(01:13:15):
round series win? Would you go with Celtics or the
Calves in the East, or is it OKC or Minnesota
in the West.

Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
Uh, it's I think it's okay, See I do do. Yeah,
we'll talk about this game. I'd imagine coming up here.
This is why we talk about experience. I think in
these games because I'm like, okay, see first half today
a lot, because I think they're gonna just like Game two,
they're gonna start fasting. They have to win today. They're

(01:13:46):
gonna start fast. But that last five seven minutes, man,
Like they don't. They don't. They're not quite there yet,
right the nexest team that might not be as good
as they've been in years past, but they got those dudes.
They've one championship. They've done it before war and it shows.
And Jokic cho his own he said, like I stunk,
he was oh for ten from three. He wasn't very good.

(01:14:08):
I'm also in yolkic overs today. We'll talk about that.
We get the props in a few minutes. Like, I
think it's that. Look the Warriors and Timberwolves. That was
an ugly game last night, but you know the Wolves
won it. Cows are betteran pacers, I think. So we'll
talk about all that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Yep, Yeah, no doubt. I think you're right. If you
look at Denver, it's elevation. It's Jokic is the best
player on the planet. Even though he's stunk last game,
they still won in overtime, former champs everything you mentioned. Okay, soe,
he's still young. That's why Hartenstein is taking three shots
in overtime and missing all three of them? Like how

(01:14:46):
how is that the guy that's taking these shots in overtime?
Like that's the sign of an inexperienced team right there.
So yeah, I think they're they're gonna have to sweat
the most to get a second round win. All right,
good stuff, we'll get to this coming up next. You've
got Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran. I'm Brian no on the way this player

(01:15:07):
has been so bad we need to come up with
a brand new stat for him, so we'll do that.
Prop it up is on the way ties to my
prop today. We'll get to that coming up. It's Fox
Sports Radio's Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports
Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. Score bigger at bet MGM

(01:15:29):

with BETMGM today and you'll have access to countless basketball

and so much more. All right, let's do.

Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
This prop it up player plays.

Speaker 2 (01:15:54):
Yes, the prop betting market crack. We start with you
with something you have circled today.

Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
Okay, I'm going with a prop from the Caves Pacers
game today, Indiana's Andrew never at over seventeen and a
half points and assist. I missed on this one last
game because of less minutes due to a blowout, but
I expect this game to stake them was a little
bit closer. He's averaging seven point seven assists in the series,
and the Cavs has some prople guarding it's free point

(01:16:20):
line where he does most of his damage. Never art
over seventeen and a half points and assists.

Speaker 3 (01:16:28):
The same game. As I mentioned earlier, Uh, Brian and
I have this thing where we just Hollyburden drives us mad. Now.
I know he made some game winning shots, but it's
unacceptable in my mind to have a game in the
postseason at home where you shoot two for eight, you're

(01:16:49):
over one from three, you have no foul shots, no rebounds,
five assists, four points, three turnovers. Like that's a that's
a state line of the we agree the best player
on their team, right, Brian, Like, that's the best player
of the team. That's the stat line. So I got
highly bring over thirty one and a half point three
round says today, I think he bounces back in a
big way. Jokich over points and rebounds. It was he

(01:17:14):
had thirty six last game and what he called a
bad game. It's forty one and a half right now.
It was forty two and a half last game when
I was on it as well. So maybe I'm going
back to well here, I don't. I don't really terribly
like it sometimes, but I think he gets he's oh,
for ten from three over ten from three. He doesn't
make a ton of threes, but he'll make two. I
think that gets to my things. To that number, or
for two half the last one, I like. I like

(01:17:35):
two in hockey. By the way, bet MGM offers this
one market that other ones do not offer. They offer
teams to score empty net goals. Specific teams out at
the Stars to score empty net goal today at home
plus two hundred, I think they're gonna beat Winnipeg. Winnipeg
allows a lot of goals except last game where they

(01:17:56):
shut out the Stars. Lastly, I like the Starts to
score the first goal today and the game a team's
off a loss. I know Crack will like this trend
or not. Teams off a loss in the postseason and
hockey have scored a goal first and thirty of the
forty five games, so thirty and fifteen minus won thirty
five Today on the bet MGM, Matt for the Stars
scored the first score home. I like that wager a

(01:18:16):
lot more than the teams at home, by the way, than.

Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
On the road.

Speaker 2 (01:18:19):
That's pretty strong. Yeah, I'm gonna stick with a game
that you guys have mentioned, the Pacers and Cavs. I'm
gonna go with Aaron Nesmith over twelve and a half
point go. I think it's a good zigzag spot. Yeah. Right,
A couple of reasons for it good zigzag. So he
had a disappointing game last game, he only had seven points,

(01:18:41):
but he's been over his point total in six of
the Pacers eight playoff games this year. That's pretty good
over in six of eight, and so I think it's
a bounce back spot. I like it. Also because these
NBA players, man, they get real territorial about their playing time.
And his minutes got cut into because Ben Mathern played
for pretty well last game, and so some of Aaron

(01:19:02):
Neismith's fourth quarter minutes got lessened because Carlisle went with Madarin.
So I think that Nie Smith is gonna be aggressive.
I think he's gonna be highly focused. He's gonna be
very motivated. What was it Bob Knight said? The ultimate
motivation is getting sat on the bench. Oh yeah, and
it's something like ass says to brain, like we got

(01:19:23):
to go out there and perform, so we're not here
on the bench did a whole thing on it. So
I like Aaron Neismith. The other reason is, again you
look at what I call paint protection. If you look
at Miles Turner with the pacers, he's providing no paint protection.
The calves are finishing at will in the paint. That's
not the case with the calves. The calves have good

(01:19:45):
paint protection. And so Halliburton, he's gonna look to drive
and kick. He's not gonna try to finish among Jared
Allen and Evan Mobley. Those guys are race shots. They
change shots. So I think there're gonna be some open
looks for Aaron Neismith. I like over and a halfs
one of them I'm gonna go with. I can't give
you the other sixty two I have today just right

(01:20:05):
now coming up next. Oh, good Sunday too you. Happy
Mother's Day to all the great moms out there. Hope
you enjoy the day fully. Which team has a better
chance of winning and covering today is something we'll dive
into momentarily. Hey, use code countdown at BETMGM and receive

(01:20:27):
up to fifteen hundred dollars back in bonus bets if
you don't win your first bet. When you register with
bet MGM, you'll get instant access to a variety of
parlay selection features, live betting options, signature bets, the best
daily promotions in the business. Again, use code countdown and
you'll get up to fifteen hundred dollars back in bonus
bets if you don't win your first bet. So, we
got a pair of game fours today in the NBA.

(01:20:49):
You've got OKC at Denver and you've got Cleveland at
the Pacers. So similar point spreads for the home dogs.
Denver is plus six and a half, India is plus
five and a half. So let's start with the favorites. Jeff,
which favorite do you think has a better chance of

(01:21:11):
winning and covering today? Is it oka See minus six
and a half or is it Cleveland minus five and
a half? Both on the road.

Speaker 3 (01:21:18):
Cleveland. Everyone's healthy for Cleveland again.

Speaker 2 (01:21:20):
Right, Yeah, Darius Garland's a little bit affected with that
toe you saw that last game.

Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
But I think, oh boy, it's a good question. I
would probably if I have to pick a favorite today,
I would probably lean toward the Calves winning as a
favorite more than oka See. I think okay See can

(01:21:46):
have a Game two type performance today, but that Yoki
just gonna play out of his mind and the game
will be closer because of that. But then again, Michael
Porter Junior doesn't shoot as well. I mean, the game
is not close as close. So but the Calves, when
they're offensively looking as they were in Game three, they're
just hard to really slow down. That game could be
super high scoring right one twenty five, one point fifteen,

(01:22:07):
you know, but the Calves wouldn't cover that game. So
I think Calves probably. I don't have a wager yet
on a on a complete game wager I have, okay,
see first half, Pacers, first quarter, because I think at
the end of these games, you know, they've been really
difficult to predict as far as you know, big lead,

(01:22:28):
shrinking down, you know, if the game is closed in Denver.
I trust Denver more than I trust you know. Okay, See,
So that's I lean probably Calves to. If I had
to pick a favorite to wain to cover today.

Speaker 4 (01:22:39):
Crack yeah. I think both the Thunder and the Calves
have a round the same chance of winning and covering today.
Just look at the lines. Obviously, Thunder six, Calves five.
Both of these teams number one season are just really
need to win on the road. So I wouldn't be
surprised if both won today and both of these series
went to two and two. However, you know me with sides, Guys,

(01:23:01):
when do I give out NBA sides? You know, it's
just such a hard thing to be. Just like Jeff said,
he goes right to the alternate first half line. As
a matter of fact, when we came on. When we
came on air today, it wasn't fair to give it
out to the public. But only MGM had a minus
three and a half. I think it was Okce first half,
where most of the sportsbooks have minus four now up

(01:23:22):
to four and a half. But I'll tell you why.
You check the MGM lines compared to market. They definitely
take some stances, and you know people want to say, oh,
maybe they're slow to move. Well, maybe maybe they just
wait to take a bet before they start moving things.
But that was one of the areas where I've seen

(01:23:44):
this morning. They also, like I said, I also seen
the Washington in baseball first five they had a line
that was out of market by fifteen cents at the time.
So you want to check that over on bet MGM.
But as far as today thunderclves both uh, Like I said,
number one seeds, they really need wins on the roads,
So I wouldn't be surprised if they both won, but

(01:24:05):
I'm not betting them.

Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:24:07):
You know what I wouldn't be surprised about is sometimes
the NBA is so weird where it really doesn't make sense.
It doesn't make sense that the Nuggets won the last
game in overtime when Jokic played as poorly as he did,
Like he's their main guy, obviously he's best player on
the planet, and yet they still I wouldn't be surprised
if today Jokic plays way better and Okac not only

(01:24:31):
wins but covers the spread. Like that's just that's the
way it works sometimes in the NBA, where you're like,
wait a minute, Jokic was zero for ten from three
and the Nuggets still won in overtime, and then today
we might be saying Jokic went off for thirty five
and Okac still covered. They won by double digits. It's
like I could absolutely see that working out. Partly for

(01:24:53):
what you explained there, Gordon and MPJ went crazy last game.
They both scored over twenty points. They were sensational. But
those role players, you know, it's tit or miss if MPJ.
If Michael Porter Junior isn't hitting his outside shot, there's
not a whole lot of scoring going on right there.
And he's not afraid. He shoots it at a high clip.

(01:25:14):
But if he's just having an off night. Man, And
I'll say this real fast, Jeff, you know we, you
and I we always talk trash about the Celtics. One
is they just have this bogged down isole ball that
they rely on too much. But the other thing we
rip on is just relying way too much on three
point shots. Yes, like mix it up, go inside, and

(01:25:34):
the first two games they couldn't buy a three and
they're still just bombing away. If we're gonna rip on
the Celtics, I think we got to look sideways at
Jokic for Game three, like, you're Nicola Jokic and how
are you zero for ten from three?

Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
If you're that cold, why are you shooting ten threes?
Why go inside? I want to see he did, but
they didn't. Like. I want to see him more, especially
against home grin right, Yeah, I want to I want
to see more that's right. I want to see You
could call it beast mode, you could call it can't

(01:26:09):
stop me mode. How about agro mode. I want to
see him go agro. That's what I want to see
from Yokic. I don't want to see him settling for
three point shots. And he's normally way better than oh
for ten obviously, but he was off. It's like, okay,
down inside, I.

Speaker 3 (01:26:24):
Went to look up Dascort I sort of see like
if that was an angle because like, you know, maybe
taking Yokic over threes today, but it doesn't it doesn't
make it doesn't taken make a lot of them. It's
not like his primary role obviously, so right, you know, obviously,
look they I think the dog I think your point
is very is the way this game is ultimately going
to go. Jokic is gonna have a triple double and

(01:26:45):
they're gonna lose by double digits, right right, I mean
I think you can. I think you're at the point
where you can say this about you know, playing Denver.
I think for today is like I think, okay, so
he's fine with the idea of Michael Porter getting seventeen
wherever he had, just don't let yoka, which you know,
kill us by the yoga is just he was angry,
he was upset about the way he played last game.
He's gonna play better, but so will the Thunder. The

(01:27:07):
Thunder will play, but they're the one seed for a reason.
They flex that mighted game two. I think we see
inflexa tadays. They have to. They don't have a choice, right,
But in the otherwise they're going down, you know, three
to one, which is insane.

Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
That's the other part of this to me too, is
you hear this all the time, like the better team
always wins a series, and that's not true. Most of
the time the better team wins a series, but hey, listen, man,
it happens. We see this weird comparison. We see this
in the NFL all the time. A team with high
expectations that's expected to win a ton of games. They

(01:27:40):
get off to a bad start and they start pressing,
and then it gets worse and worse. Same thing can
happen in a series. The best team doesn't always win
a series, but more times than not they do. The
point I'm trying to make with okay see is sometimes
you're only through three games of a series and you're like, whoa,
you don't see the big picture. You're just in the
here and now. I think the big picture with OKC, Yeah,

(01:28:03):
they just lost in overtime. They scored two points in overtime.
How does that happen? And so you're just thinking, Wow,
look at Denver. Look at all they bring to the table.
They've got Jokic, they've got altitude, their defense, their they're champions, right,
like you see all these things. I think one thing
that we forget is Okay, See, they have the best

(01:28:24):
point differential in the history of the NBA, and all
the teams on this list have won titles like one
after another. And so when you're blowing teams out by
an average of about thirteen points per night over eighty
two games, that shows one how talented you are, how
good your defense is, how good your depth is. All

(01:28:45):
those things matter in the playoffs. So I think we
can get stuck in, you know, like we're in after
game three mode instead of looking at the series as
a whole. Guys, And that's why I want to expect
OKAC to rebound in a.

Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
Ton of money coming in on Okac. I mean, yeah,
I'm looking at my live on screen and every sports
book is lit up red, which means major line moves
open up five and a half, up to six and
a half seven seven, There it is.

Speaker 1 (01:29:10):
There we go.

Speaker 4 (01:29:11):
Well, we got some great guys here. They pick right
up on that. But yeah, tons of sevens here in
Vegas now too this personally, I think you guys kind
of know. I hate. I would hate to jump on
a bandwagon. Now, imagine you lay seven ninety minutes ago.
You could have laid five and a half. Come on,
there's only one way to do, and the only one

(01:29:33):
way to go. Now, not that I'm doing it, but
if I'm forced to the better side, it's Denver plus seven. Yes,
but I'm not. And I'll tell you one thing. Here
we are four hours out. You may get a even
better line if you're gonna wait out for this Denver line.
The big sports books that make the big moves, that

(01:29:54):
control the market are all minus six and a half
minus fifteen or higher. I said one, two, three, four, five,
there's six sevens here in Vegas. Now that's a giant move.
Everyone's bet in Oklahoma City. Uh, just enjoy the game
and maybe not even have a side. That's impossible, right,
How do you enjoy the game and not gamble. I

(01:30:14):
get it, I get it, I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:16):
We don't have that.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (01:30:17):
I don't always have a side in every game. But
again I think that people are thinking of the way
we are, Like you know, the point differential is interesting Brian,
because I would, okay, see is on. No one's beating them.
They just haven't been as good in game one, in
game three when it mattered that Game two they were
on and they won by forty. I mean that that
can happen on any night road away and whole like that.

(01:30:40):
That thing about this team is like you can do that.
They could do it today if they wanted to. Question
is are they going to?

Speaker 2 (01:30:46):
And and I love I love that you said that yeah,
and then again you had go ahead, sorry, go ahead,
go ahead?

Speaker 3 (01:30:54):
Well and also to like Check like I don't expect
Check to play as well tonight. I just I think
that Okay, he's gonna have some some concerns, but I
think they do start fast enough. Anyways, I do think
it might be a close game at the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:05):
End, though, could be. It's just crazy think how drunk
this series has been so Game one you have a
big upset win on the road by Denver and then
okay See wins by forty three. Yeah, and then Game
three you have a big upset win at home from
Denver in overtime. But I you know, like it has

(01:31:25):
the potential, like you just said, okay See has more
than enough potential to not just win but win comfortably
or they or they go back against the wall.

Speaker 3 (01:31:35):
That's the hard part about this, right, And.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Yeah, yeah, I know it.

Speaker 4 (01:31:39):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
It's uh, that's a great It's a great atmosphere in
Denver too. I don't think they get enough credit for
the atmosphere being the way it is. It's it's definitely
a Broncos town. But they're in it. They're into it
with the Nuggets and Yokitch and all that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:53):
They've had a lot of winning, right the as I
have won recently. Right, Oh yeah, the Nuggets have won recently,
so they're used to cheering those teams on. But I
think I think, okay see, if I had to, if
you have to ask me, what's wager, I think I
think they wouldn't cover the game.

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
I like your first half play, I like your see
first half. Now, like I said, when we went when
we went out, there was minus three and a half
and now.

Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
Fur a half now, But I think that's the way
I'm gonna play this one and just sort of sit
on the side and see what happens. I think if
it's a close game in the fourth quarter, I might
come back with some Denver take some Denver money. I
trust them to close out game a little bit better.
One other angle to play by the way I Brian knows.
I've done this a couple of times, and uh depends

(01:32:37):
on the first quarter score, to be honest with you,
but taking the Nuggets opponent to score the first ten
points of the second quarter when Yokich is out of
the game is a good wager. It's not offered everywhere,
so I don't know if if BENAMGM even offers it,
so you might have to shop that around a little bit.
On this one. You can sometimes do it pre flop

(01:32:59):
like you do it before, or essentially like now, which
makes it a little more difficult. You don't know how
the game is going. But if it's a close game
through through one quarter, guys, you could sit the first
three to six minutes to the second quarter and it's
basically is Russell Westbrook gonna score ten points, like you know,
like I kind of like my chances, so so you
can go try. It's hard to find this at times.

(01:33:23):
You sometimes they have to get it, like in the
first when the quarters over essentially and first quarters over
somewhere around there. But it's not it's not a bad
thought in a game. Now, if Okay sees up by
thirteen in the first quarter, I like it less of course, Brian,
But it's been a fairly profitable wager to look at.
To look at the first ten points of the second

(01:33:45):
quarter and uh race to ten points in right now, Okay,
it's minus one to forty two for Okac where I
see it, which is a little hefty. So again, just
you know, you wait to say the first quarter goes,
you might get a better number if you like it.

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
I don't mind that though, I mean, little bit of
juice right there. But it's a different basketball team with
Jokic off the floor.

Speaker 3 (01:34:05):
Yes, it's just his it's.

Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
Night and day. And I'll throw this on your radar too,
because we're talking about Jokic and this is a good
zigzag zigzag opportunity. Had a rough Game three, he could
absolutely respond in Game four. How about Sga SGA is
going to win MVP game one thirty three points, Game
two thirty four points, last game disappointing eighteen points, so

(01:34:29):
could be a zigzag spot for him as well, where
both MVP candidates on the same floor together.

Speaker 4 (01:34:35):
Parlay right, crack, yeah, you know I'm on that's right. Yeah,
almost had a loss forwards. I'm GMP and I'm looking
at so Jeff, I'll tell you. I just I'm just
look at look at look at our camera. Look look
at the amount of props on this game today. So

(01:34:57):
now you once you click one of the drop down men,
you there's a plus throw of choices in there. So
I'm looking here. Race two. I just wanted to see.

Speaker 3 (01:35:06):
Is that there?

Speaker 4 (01:35:06):
They had race to five, race to ten, race to fifteen,
race at twenty. But now you're saying second quarter races.

Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
Yes you can. There's yeah, so not ever again, like
like I said, like Ben MGM has wagers, like I said,
like empty net goal for specific team. It's it's been
a great wager in the postseason hockey, like you you
can even go the thing about it. A lot of
these hockey games, by the way, until until the last
couple of days, have been two goals or more the winner.

(01:35:34):
The winner wins by two goals or more. Typically it's
empty net goal. At some point, you can bet both sides,
like one is plus two hundred, one's plus four hundred,
one plus three seventy one, one's plus plus three fifty.
It's been good, crack.

Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
No, So, but why do you come in to Vegas?
I need to know when you're coming to veg.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
You're coming to one.

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
No, my wife's coming on Friday. But aren't you then
in July July? Okay, okay, because my wife's coming to
e DC this weekend. So if you see her about
at the carnival, you no, no, me know it's her
last hurrah, crack. She's turning. It's a big it's a
milestone birthday in a couple of weeks.

Speaker 4 (01:36:09):
I don't say that, air, I said, it's a milestone.
We know what that is.

Speaker 3 (01:36:14):
It's a milestone birthday. Wow. And so I think this
is her last hurrah, like her last like I mean,
she's she's a course, she's in the c she's an
executive like she she can be going to many one
of these.

Speaker 4 (01:36:26):
Uh, she's coming out with a girlfriends are you mister mom?
Or do you have a natty.

Speaker 3 (01:36:32):
No, I'm mister mom. I know the kids are old
enough now. I just leave at home and go Holliday. No,
next weekend she's gonna have like we'll have a baseball
my son have a baseball game Saturday, and then my
daughter will have I think a playoff softball game I
think on Saturday too, and then uh, they have probably
Hebrew school Sunday. I mean, it's not it's not a
big deal. They're downstairs now. I mean, it's amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
You said, my wife's best friends flying in from Jersey
and they you know, she leaves me in charge of
all the ticket things. So I got them sweet at
the Katie Perry show, I got them. They wanted to
go see Brilliant Begs, which is they like the Beg's.
It's funny Tony Orlando, who I'm friends with. His You
guys wouldn't know him, but your parents would know him. Anyway,

(01:37:16):
Tony Uh called up Barry Gibb. It was it's a
long story. He's such a nice guy. But let me
tell you my inside things. She doesn't know it yet.
I don't want to hear him. So I got her
tickets for the third night, they wanted to go to
see Barry Manilo. I got them going backstage to meet
so she they're gonna be so pumped there there what

(01:37:37):
you call fanolos. So yeah, like Barry Manilo. I know
it's again that's a thing, that's the thing your part would.

Speaker 3 (01:37:47):
Speaking of that concert, I think I'm coming in July
for for Pat twelve Media day to Pack twelve Big
ten media days are in Vegas in middle of July.
Boys are at the sphere. I think we're gonna I
think my wife wants go see the basty boys of this.
So I think we're gonna go in July, end of
July to Backstreet Boys at the sphere of their crack.

Speaker 4 (01:38:06):
Okay, all right, So I probably wouldn't know any of
the songs. I know who they are.

Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
You know, you would know if you heard them. But yeah,
really yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:38:13):
That's not That's not the one that Donnie Wahlberg's in, right,
that's the other one. That's another one, right, that's another group,
new kids on the Block. I think I think.

Speaker 3 (01:38:20):
That's like thirty years before oh it is no, okay,
ten fifteen years before Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 2 (01:38:25):
Jeff, is there any chance that Lamb of God is
opening for Backstreet Boys.

Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I think
I don't know if I'm going to Backstreet Boys too,
So just send her by myself. I don't even know what. Uh,
I haven't been that spirit is it nice?

Speaker 4 (01:38:40):
It's unbelievable. I went there for the Eagles. It was unbelievable.
It's it's oh. I went there the first time. I
went for a Grateful Dead show, which I don't really know.
Grateful Dead it's too It's just not my kind of music,
but I went. I went because my buddy wanted to go,
and that was cool. But the Eagles, I mean, that
was just so cool. And you know what's gonna be.
I wonder if it's going to be here when you're here.

(01:39:01):
I don't think so. In July, but we're having the
Wizard of Oz. It sounds like no big deal, right,
Wizard of Oz and the Wizard of Oz is being
shown at the Sphere. You have to you have to
understand the scope of what you're watching there. Wow, it
is just so cool there.

Speaker 3 (01:39:18):
We watched Wizard of Oz the other day. The kids
wanted to watch it, love it. I think we watch wicked.
I don't want to who Lizard of Oz. It's what
nineteen thirty nine like unbelievable. It's a little bit like, Yeah,
it's still I'm looking at right now when the Wizard
of All is showing at the sphere. I did look
up how much of Sweet costs of the sphere for
some reason, it's thin you reserve Sweet tickets. I will

(01:39:38):
not be seeing this Sweet. No, it's crazy that I
got good I got good connections for Sweet. I'll hit
you though, Yeah, I hit you for a big ten
media days. Guys, do we realize football is like it's
like you know it's coming. Guys.

Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
You know we got football right around the corner over here.
We got to talk about this coming up next, We've
got Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran. I'm Brian. No use code countdown at betmgm

in bonus bets if you don't win your first bet
coming up next. This NFL change has been great, which
got us thinking, which change would you love to see
most in the NFL going forward. It's Fox Sports Radio's
Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown

(01:40:40):
presented by BETMGM. You can stream the show in all
of our Fox Sports Radio shows live twenty four to
seven in the new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search
Fox Sports Radio in the app to stream us live.
And one of the newest features in the app is
that you can select Fox Sports Radio as one of
your presets, just like the presets on a radio dial.
So be sure to preset Fox Sports Radio in the

(01:41:02):
iHeartRadio app and it'll always pop up at the top
of your screen. All right, So, I saw an NFL
nugget where my Dolphins. They have signed their first round
pick already. Kenneth Grant, thirteenth overall pick, signed his deal.
It's a four year rookie contract worth close to twenty
two million dollars, and I just stopped and I thought

(01:41:23):
about that. And you guys remember years ago where this
was not a common thing. You commonly would see first
round picks be unsigned well into training camp, sometimes into
the season, while the rookies are trying to get top dollar,
and they just dragged on and on and on. I
love the rookie wage scale. I think it's been great

(01:41:44):
for the NFL. You could argue it's not great for
the rookies they're not getting top dollar, but I think
it's a much fairer system. You're not having like former
Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell making fifty million dollars or whatever
before he's done anything in the NFL. If you produce
use in the NFL, then you get the big money.
That's the way the NBA does it. I think it's
been a great change for the NFL, and I think

(01:42:07):
it's great like the pr think about the off season
the way it was, it was contract stalemates and all
these these greedy players are trying to get top dollar
and like fans just want to be excited about the
upcoming season, and some rookies that are hopefully going to
help their team, right, and so it cuts all through
that almost eliminates all these holdouts.

Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
So what's funny is it makes it like Shamar Stewart
is sitting out right now for the Bengals and the
rookie minni campus doesn't sign his deal yet. Like that's
so people are like, oh my god, Like that's what
it used to be.

Speaker 2 (01:42:36):
That way, it's what it used to be, so still coming.

Speaker 3 (01:42:38):
Yeah, the rookie wage scale basically is you obviously fixed.
You know, it's fixed the the the contracts for the
rookies and that includes your guaranteed salary and the structure
of the contract. And basically all you're doing now is
having over like I mean, bonus. It's very minuscule things
that matter in the end. You know, second round picks
are finding over guaranteed money on and whatnot. Sometimes you're

(01:43:00):
you're fighting over splits from you get hurt, you.

Speaker 2 (01:43:03):
Know in the offset language.

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
Yeah, yeah, you're not arguing over over much right now.
So it does allow for players to sign it earlier
and get in the building and get going. I mean,
I remember, I'm a stufur pick. I didn't sign till
day before training camp. Like that's like, you're funny, I
remember my agent, So funny. My agent called me. I
loved I love my agent and he said he said,
he said, dude, I got you, uh got you two more?

(01:43:28):
I said maybe four more. So I was like, I
was like four goill me four grand more am my
signing body. I got four hundred dollars more than the
last players, like, because it was always off of like
what you the last player in your slot got, and
you just increased because they're offering you this. I got
you this and most men I ever seen in my life.
My signing bonus was forty one six, so I got like,
I think I got a check for twenty four thousand dollars,

(01:43:51):
which was like you know it was it was like
in awe. Yeah, it was crazy. And that was a
seventh round pick. I mean, now these guys are getting
you know, when we talk about it, you just mentioned it,
the money they're getting. Now at seventh round pick, you're
getting I think two three hundred signing bonus. Someone around
there a lot more money now obviously. So yes, it's
great to see these players in in in there in

(01:44:11):
their buildings. I am a sucker, guys for a slow
motion video of your rookie quarterback throwing the ball to
a rookie wide receiver with no one around. I am
a sucker. You inject those into my veins. I want
to see you rookie quarterback throwing a semi spiral. They're

(01:44:31):
never perfect spirals either. They're like a little wobbly. I
want that. Yesterday throwing the balls to comes to fancy.
It wasn't even, it wasn't accurate. Don't care, do not care.
Dylan Gabriel was doing like a footward drill. We've been
suck through a ball like five yards. Sign me up
for a crack. I'm all in. I saw one of
the mill roll last weekend as well. I am I'm

(01:44:53):
all in.

Speaker 4 (01:44:53):
All these well, I tell you we we talk about NFL.
I know it's really still the first I'll say you
the first month of baseball, but we are just so enamored.
When Brian and I were at the hot Dog event
on Monday, we would do We brought it up in
front of some people. Man, everyone is just dying for
NFL season to come back. And you know it's funny.

(01:45:15):
Before before I did, before I join you guys on
this show, I wasn't so much into NFL betting, but
then when PAPSO was repealed and New Jersey came on
as a second state for sports betting, and then the
prop market, which there was a prop market before but
not like there is now. By the NFL is the

(01:45:38):
only place I want to be for NFL props. That's
just such a fun thing at the beginning of the week.
I now, I don't know this. I'm not on your guys,
and maybe I'm overvaluing myself. Isn't it fun to get
a text at eight am in the morning on Monday
to go on something and stuff starts moving. I missed that.

Speaker 3 (01:45:57):
I missed that I am already budgeting out how much
more money I'm putting in my account for the preseason.
And I'm like, I'm thinking of my head, like, okay,
I get I'm working this much between now and August.
How much can I take out of the account that
my wife doesn't notice it cloes into my my preseason
wagering and budget for practice and over those like you know,

(01:46:19):
I don't even know who who who the Raiders are playing?
Do not care? You sent it over to us? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:46:24):
I mean, look, it's worked just to buy some back.

Speaker 3 (01:46:26):
Of course, the thing about the NFL wagering though the
Monday morning stuff is that, like there closing line value
and I'm probably sure I'm gonna be wrong about this
and people are gonna yell at me, and my mentions
are sins that it's mean tweets. I feel like it
obviously matters. Okay, we know that in other sports, like Yeah,
yet yesterday there was an alert you sent out crack

(01:46:47):
for a picture and by the time I got to it,
it was one strikeout more than you sent out. I
didn't wager. And what's funny is you you won the wager. Uh,
the alt line didn't win. It was like it was
a middle right it was four and a half you
gave out ended up at five, but I can only
find five and a half. Didn't wager on it. I
don't think I don't think it matters as much other
sports to be like overall throughout the whole thing, right like,

(01:47:10):
But in football, man, like you get that that three
and a half instead in that three you feel like
I got a chance this week, Like you feel like
even going into the week, you feel so much better.
You you give out that that Namhart prop earlier, the
over seventeen and a half, right, that's eighteen and a half.
I mean it's not great, but I'll probably still wager
on it.

Speaker 2 (01:47:30):
But yesterday three you Yeah, but if you yesterday think
about Tatum, right, you were off of Tatum because his
rebounds and assists. Yeah, when it was up to sixteen
and a half, it's normally around fourteen and a half. Yeah, yeah,
and then he ended on sixteen you got Yeah, so I.

Speaker 3 (01:47:46):
Didn't do it. So but like football, man, if that
Monday morning, if I if it moves, like if I'm
getting that extra half point or point, I feel like
I'm I'm as we get to Sunday, I feel like
I'm on top already. I might even win the well
the way it doesn't feel the way other sport. That's
why the football, I think, is so keen when it
comes to, you know, getting the best of the number.

Speaker 2 (01:48:06):
Well, let's do this real fast, because I want to
get what you guys think. Going back to the rookie
wage scale, right, I think that's a great change for
the NFL. You have slotted money basically, oh you're the
fifth overall pick X amount of money. Oh you're the
twentieth overall pick X amount of money. And it just
reduces all these holdouts. It's great for the NFL. So
that was a great change in twenty eleven. What change

(01:48:28):
would you most like to see now? Is there anything
on your list? Jeff?

Speaker 3 (01:48:35):
I mean sud death overtime going back to it be
fine with me. I feel like can I'd be okay
with that in the regular season. Yeah, I'm I don't
want them ban in the Toush pusher, so that means
like we're going back. I don't feel like anything is
out is outrageous right now with the way that league is.
I think that one change I think that they have made.
It's been so long as we talk to NFL consistently.

(01:48:58):
I like the Sky Sky judge is getting involved now
and basically yes or no? Was it a face mask?
Was it not? Was it right? Didn't get in the head?
Did he not? I feel like those are very important
change the NFL. There's a really good job. You might
not like the owners and the commissioner, but like they
do such a good job of fixing issues quickly and

(01:49:20):
being adaptable. I think COVID really helped with it. Before
COVID they were less adaptable. I think now they see
a problem and they fix it right away. So I
was like, the change they've made so far this year, you.

Speaker 2 (01:49:30):
Know what crack you and I will weigh in real
fast on the change we'd most like to see. But
first let's let's work I Loo into this conversation, because
that's a change we would never like to see. Is
I love going away? We're like, no, I can't believe
I said that out loud. It's terrible plead in the atmosphere.
I love what is going on, buddy, I.

Speaker 7 (01:49:47):
Find a nickel for every time I heard that. I'd
have a nickel. But thanks nonetheless. Game three of the
NBA's Western cotfrid Sebi Finals on Saturday night saw the
Minnesota Timberwolves what a Golden State one O two to
nine for two games to one lead thanks to the
exploits of Anthony Edwards thirty six points, including the game
clinching three pointer with one nineteen to play, as well

(01:50:09):
as a Julius Randall triple double twenty four points, ten
rebounds and twelve assists. Wild finish of the Stanley Cup
playoffs on Saturday night, the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton
Oilers were tied at three in the final seconds of
the third period of Game three. Here were Dan Duva
and Gary Lawless on Fox Sports ninety eight point nine
and thirteen forty Las Vegas.

Speaker 8 (01:50:31):
Five seconds centered off the stick and the slot Smith
gets around the goalieue.

Speaker 9 (01:50:35):
They scored. No, it's waved off. They wave it off.
The referee waved his arms saying no. The Golden Knights
think they've won.

Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
They won deero.

Speaker 1 (01:50:46):
Point four, the puck mcqueeny crossed the line.

Speaker 7 (01:50:49):
Gol Vegas wins at four to three, but Edmonton still
leaves the series two games to one. Earlier Saturday night,
the Carolina Hurricanes shut out the Washington Capitol Sport to
nothing for a two games to one lead, finally fellas
One other hockey note, with this being Mother's Day, Gritty,
the irrepressible mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers, posted the following

(01:51:14):
on social media today quote, tell your mom, I said,
thank you for everything.

Speaker 2 (01:51:21):
She'll know what that means.

Speaker 7 (01:51:23):
Under easy there, Gritty, take it easy there.

Speaker 1 (01:51:28):
Back to you.

Speaker 2 (01:51:28):
Guys, Thank you. Ilo. It is Fox Sports Radio's Countdown,
presented by BETMGM. Shortly after the show, our podcast would
be going up. Missed anything on today's show, be sure
to check it out. Just search Fox Sports Radio wherever
you get your podcasts, and be sure to also follow,
rate and review it again. Just search Fox Sports Radio
wherever you get your podcasts, and you'll see this show

(01:51:49):
posted right after we get off the year. Okay, crag,
I'm curious what NFL change would you like to see most.

Speaker 4 (01:51:55):
I think it's almost the biggest and easiest one. I rule,
I like to see changes that the face mask grooviw.
I mean last season there were so many missed calls
that maybe even change the game. I mean, the boots
should be able to do a review a face mask call.
It isn't really a judgment call like a pass interference,
And some of these are so obvious and missed that
it's really frustrating that you know, they just can't just

(01:52:19):
review and make this right or wrong call. This is
an easy fix, though, I hope the NFL doesn't. I
mean this is I think Jeff mentioned it about the
face mask call. I mean the face mask review. Really
that that could be reviewed in the booth. But how
much technical do we want to get? How people don't
like change, people don't like the booth reviews, people don't

(01:52:39):
like But I just think the god you want to
get the call.

Speaker 3 (01:52:42):
Right, and I think they like it if it happens
in a timely manner, Like you watch its correct, you
watch the NBA posts in these reviews, you're like, what
is taking so long? Well, what are we doing on
that headset? And like that. I think the NFL again
has done a really good job of streamlining the review process,
or it doesn't fee like it's such so tedious to

(01:53:02):
have these reviews that they're needed, right.

Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
That's what I love most about Replay Assist is it's
been quick. It's been fast. It's like the official basically
has a bluetooth in his ear. Yeah, and they're like, yeah, yeah, dude,
that was a face mask. Okay, face mask, yeah, and
on with life. So as long as it's quick, yeah,
I would love to see more replay Assist, more Sky
Judge type stuff. For the obvious stuff. I think it's

(01:53:27):
the dumbest thing ever. If you're watching at home and
it takes one replay and you're like, Sam Darnold was
just tackled by his face mask in the end zone.
That should be a penalty, and there's no system in
place to be able to change that. It's dumb. So yeah,
I'm with you guys on that you'll hate these, Jeff,
I would also like to see you know, see on record.

(01:53:48):
It's the dumbest thing ever that a wild card team
has four more wins than a division winner, yet the
wildcard team is on the road. Shouldn't be like that.
And the one that drives me to crazy easiest because
it makes no shred of sense is a fumble out
of the end zone the other team just automatically gets
the ball at the twenty. That's the dumbest thing ever.

(01:54:08):
You want the ball, recover the ball. I would love
to see that change be made. I've been screaming about
that for years. Hopefully I don't have to scream about
that for many more years. It should. Your guess as
good as mine if it's going to but it should.
I've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight

(01:55:54):
you covered less than ten minutes from now. Keep it
locked here on Fox Sports Radio. I've got some picks
to make. Let's do it.

Speaker 1 (01:56:05):
Rapid fire.

Speaker 2 (01:56:07):
Okay, crack, we start with you with something you like.

Speaker 4 (01:56:10):
Yeah, I'm gonna well, I feel like a sucker doing this.
But after a twenty one zero game yesterday, I am
going to that San Diego game. Not going to the game,
but I'm going to that alternative line on bet MGM
the over six and a half minus a dollar sixty.
Laying some wood today on a couple of things I
don't usually like doing that. Let's go with that. After

(01:56:33):
that twenty one zero football game yesterday.

Speaker 3 (01:56:37):
I like it. I like it. I've done every day
this year. Fade the Rockies. Yeah, six and thirty three
if I'm correct on that. So yeah, not not great.
All right, Let's get to some of these player props
I like I talked earlier. Look, I'm I'm back on
Yolkis today. Where's the here goo player combost find oh?

(01:57:01):
I have points and rebounds over forty one and a half.
It was forty two and a half. Last game, I
had thirty six and immediately did not play well. I
like Hallie Burn today over thirty one and a half points,
rebounds and assist. That was a horrendous performance from him
in Game three. I just have to think pridefully. He's
coming back and playing a little bit better there. And
the other one. I like, I'm gonna pull up the

(01:57:22):
right number here. I like the Stars to score first
today they host the Jets. They just lost four nothing.
The team that has lost the previous game has scored
the first goal in thirty of forty five games in
the NHL postseason so far. Not the team. Okay, there's
there's two options here, this team to score goal, first

(01:57:42):
goal in the first period. I'm not hating that one.
There's just team to score the first goal in regulation.
Minus won thirty five for the Stars.

Speaker 2 (01:57:50):
Okay, there's so much. I like, I'm not gonna give
you everything, but I'll give you a couple. How about
are you interested, Jeff in a non zig zag play? Oh,
we loved the zig zag approach, but a non zigzag
ty Jerome, You're terrible. Yes, he's been brutal for the
Cavs the last two games. He's two for his last

(01:58:12):
twenty two shots from the field. Yeah, it's that bad.
In the last game, he only played thirteen minutes because
he's not doing anything offensively and the Pacers are hunting
him when he's on the defensive end. So under nine
and a half points is something that I've got, you know,
in my back pocket here today. I like that. I

(01:58:33):
also think it's a great zigzag spot for Jokic over
twenty seven and a half points, I think he plays
much better today. Jimmy buckets. He's got no choice but
to score, you know what I mean, Like, what do
the Warriors have offensively beyond him? Not a whole lot.
So I like over twenty six and a half points tomorrow,

(01:58:55):
I think makes a lot of sense. Here's a risky
zigzag play. You might like this, Jeff and crack. Donovan
Mitchell has gone crazy the first three games of this
series against the Pacers. At what point does Rick Carlile
blitz him, double him, do something to prevent him from
absolutely torching? Now could happen in Game four. So under

(01:59:18):
twenty nine and a half that's risky, but I mean
it's possibitions.

Speaker 3 (01:59:24):
As well as were like I'd rather be, I'd rather would.
I don't want to be on that side. I don't
want to be in the game, Rudy for not to
score points.

Speaker 2 (01:59:31):
I hear you. Nothing wrong with passing on that. All right,
we're not passing on Cracks. Play of the day. Let's
do this.

Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
This is the best play of the day.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
The man, all right, Crack, what do you have for us?

Speaker 4 (01:59:44):
All right? Baseball season? You know, I really don't like
to go anything more than a unit, So let's let's
stick with the same units as I did earlier. Washington
first five. Let's go with the Phillies tonight. Give you
some night action. Philly is laying about a buck seventy
bucks seventy three.

Speaker 2 (01:59:58):
