Speaker 1 (00:00):

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yeah, we're breaking.
Speaker 3 (00:05):

sports week. You're you're listening to Fox Sports Countdown, brought
to you by BEG the Sports but born in Vegas.
The Countdown starts now.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
No by from the Fox.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Sports Radio studios. Here's Brian No, Jeff Schwartz and Bill
crag Krackenberger.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Oh, good morning to you. Welcome in happy Sunday. Let
we get things started over here. Oreo the neighborhood cat
is almost climbing the curtains already, so she's fired up,
ready to go. Uh crack. Good morning to you, Jeff
evering good in your world?
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Good morning. Yeah, it's the dogs behind me, so don't
I don't have I don't have Oreo with me, but
I do have the dogs. That's good. Uh yeah, man,
I mean look, it's the NFL week, right, We've got
the NFL game on Thursday. So we'll get better with
the world. Man, no kidding.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
Yeah, so Jeff has foe crack. You've got Louis over
there right, raring to go.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Good to go.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Nice yep, the gang's all back together here.
Speaker 5 (01:15):
Well, we were back together here and now Jeff's back
in Charlotte. We have a nice meal with Russ over
at Peter Lugers. We got to get ready for the season. Now,
you know that's funny, Jeff. People actually, uh on on
social media there's a lot of a lot of hate
for Peter Lugers.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
I don't know, I like it.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
I just all I know is that very rarely do
I go to eat and never have to order. And
that was such a treat for me to walk in
that place and Russ and Crack were like, you know what,
we got it. I don't have to look at the men.
You told me to put the menu down. Yeah, the
menu down. I got to just sit there and eat
all the food. It was.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
It was delicious, it was good.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yeah, I'm still I'm still shocked at the plate of
steak stays that hot for that long. That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Yeah, out you can you can order a steak there Pittsburgh,
you know, medium rare, and then you know you can
just cook on the steak if you're like medium, or
just just cook on the plate. I mean just leave
it there on either side. And they you got like
an eight hundred degree plate. Yeah, good stuff, good crazy. Yeah,
it was fun. It was a good time. I'm glad
we could link up over there when the.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
We're never all together. It's just like I was in
town and you know, I hear the complaining about big
Ted media day. I don't quite get it, but uh,
I get the people that wanted to remain, you know,
on these coats somewhere. But otherwise I thought it was
a good event. I'm excited for the season, and uh
we'll be before we note everyone.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
I know, we'll ramp it up absolutely and there'll be
a lot of ball on today's show. But we start
with injuries. So that's the theme of the first segment.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Injury.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
So we've got Matthew Stafford to get to Rams quarterback
has a back issue already. But we start with Aaron Judge, right,
Yankee superstar headed to the I L. Normally that'd be
horrible news, it's actually great news for the Yankees. He
avoid serious injury. He's got a flexer strain in his
right elbow. Can't throw a baseball right now. But luckily
(03:11):
for the Yankees, there was a scan that revealed no
damage to a ucl and that could have meant Tommy
John surgery. So the Yankees are like, we'll take the il.
Sounds good. They're hoping to get him back in a
couple of weeks. These the flexer strain injuries are a
little goofy, so it might be a little bit longer
than two weeks, maybe a month, who knows, But he's
expected when he comes back to DH and then hopefully
(03:33):
he can ramp up, throw a baseball, be back in
the outfield there.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
So first thought is, I I'd never like to hear
flexier strains, even though I know it's not a UCL injury.
These never seemed to just end up being only that.
But to be fair, he is a position player, not
a pitcher, so like I'm less concerned about it. He
can DH for the time being. As you mentioned, now,
(03:58):
that means that I believe Stanton's got to go back
in the outfield, which isn't great for the Yankees, But
that's that's baseball. I mean, that's sports, right. I have
to fill in often, fill in, you know, when gods
are hurt and and make the best of it. And
the Yankees won't. We'll do that. They just need judge
because their team is scuffling. He's their best player. What
I found very interesting is the odds for the al MVP.
(04:21):
I looked this morning because it wasn't up yesterday, and
Big Dumper is minus one twenty already. The cal Rawley
for the Mariners, who I look, I didn't have the
members yesterday. I think he was like four to one
ish around there, I think before this, and and Judge
was a heavy heavy favorite. Me know, Tony's minus two
thousand in the NL, and all of a sudden, now
(04:43):
the Big Dumper crack minus one twenty. Obviously he lost
all the value in this, but it's not I think
the worst way to make it. I got forty home runs.
The thing about it is if Judge comes back soon,
and then we think he can still win the MVP, considering,
you know, the Yankees success and and the Mariner's success
and kind of going from there. But I was surprised
(05:04):
to see the violent movement to the cal Rawle a year.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
Jeff, because you know about these injuries and stuff, like
you said, just hearing that word, but I was surprised
to see to hear Brian, I mean, say, it's only
like two weeks, so you think judging me back in
like a couple of weeks, like a couple of weeks.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Is that what I mean?
Speaker 5 (05:25):
The team put out there so in two weeks for
uh literally some rehab and then you're back on the
field for throwing the ball and everything. He won't throw
just dh.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Yeah, well, I think I think we would need to
worry about. It's just getting the inflammation down right, because
there's probably it's probably irritable in his elbow. And and
just remember, I mean Otani played an entire season with
abom UCL and just hit. You can do it. A
judge could do it.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
I think I'm more worried about for the ages. I'm
just not playing well. I don't know if it matters.
If you know, they just need judge back into the
line so they play. They you know, they just have
struggled and they need not someone like him, They need
him back in the lineup asuon as possible.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Yeah, no, good point.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
The Yanks have been really struggling, so it's just not
a time, not a good time for a judge to
go on the ail. They they they're only eight and
twelve in July and six and a half games now
behind Toronto and the Al East. It's crazy to look
at the future odds and see some places that still
have them.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Favorite to win the Pennant.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Come on, uh, this Yankee team is in real trouble
and needs to get someone met them this next month
in order to even make the playoffs. So it just
seems like every year they're picked to win something and
they struggle to get there every year, just like the Mets,
just the two New York teams you met to, the
Yanks are picked to do really good every year. And
(06:50):
so but we'll see. Listen, they're not out of it.
They're six and a half games behind they you know,
they unfortunately are in a tough division there, Toronto, Al
East Boston out you know, beating the Dodgers and hopefully
getting to the playoffs. I have a bet on that
just to make the playoffs. So anyway, all right, we'll
see you're your guy.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Fees put out yesterday Yankees no playoffs. I think it's
some oh really wild number.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Oh wow.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
And under thee it was like seven to one, no playoffs.
They put out it under ninety and a half wins.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
So on the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, yeah, when when the injury news came out, that's what. Yeah, right,
I don't know, I don't know if that's what he
ended up playing, because it's I think it's aboud to
get some of those numbers sometimes sure in those moments,
but on the Yankees, I think are in a world
of hurt without their best player.
Speaker 4 (07:38):
Yeah, you start looking at who's on their heels, right
if you're looking at the wild card race at a minimum,
for the Yankees to get in there, because they're they're
six and a half back of Toronto. Toronto has been
so hot in July over here were they seventeen and four. Yeah,
in the month of July alone, best record in the majors.
But you look at who's on the yankees heels. The
Red Sox are right there, Yankee, the Red Sox only
(08:00):
a game back. The Guardians have been on fire. They've
won twelve of sixteen, so they're not that far back
at the Yankees. Mariners are right there, the Rangers have
gotten better, So there are a number of teams right
there where the Yankees are in the wild Card race. So, yeah,
they got to start winning games, and it's obviously gonna
be a lot harder to do that without a healthy
errand Judge in the lineup. So they're hopefully gonna get
(08:21):
him back as soon as possible. But the good news
is no Tommy John, no UCL yet. And they're hoping
that this flex are strained. To your point, Jeff, it
won't turn into something more. It's kind of like you
know when you hear a basketball player like, oh, he's
got a strained calf muscle, You're like, oh, no, this
could be more than that, right, So yeah, they're hoping
it doesn't turn into more. How about Matthew Stafford, though
(08:44):
Rams quarterback has a back issue. He's got back soreness.
Right now, this isn't you know, the end of the
world here, but he will not return to practice next week.
They were anticipating he was gonna be back there next week.
Head coach Sean McVay, he's like, I would think it's
the smarter thing to do, not rush them back. There
are a lot of people that like the Rams this season,
(09:05):
and if you're backing the Rams, you gotta be a
bit worried, right that Stafford he's a candidate, prime candidate,
to miss a couple of games this season due to injury, Right,
you got to be a little bit worried if you're
thinking about backing the Rams on a season win total
or the NFC West or what have you, right, Jeff,
I mean this.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Is I'm a backer of the Rams, and this does
really worried me. Look, I mean a I don't think
you want to hear back injury, you know, in in
first week a camp. I mean, this is supposed to
be when you're the healthiest you'll be all season, and
you have an older player like this, and so I'm
I am worried as someone who back who is on
the Rams right now. Again, I think I mentioned this before.
(09:44):
It's interesting handicapped for me where I'm I think the
Niners will have a better record, but the Rams will
be a better team. I think the Rams will go
deeper in the playoffs. I looked at it taking the
Rams to lose basically the NSC championship game at plus
eight hundred ish. They have that type of team if
again in the postseason they can they look, they have
(10:06):
a veteran quarterback and an excellent coach, and they rushed
the passer. I mean, these are things that are a
very important come postseason.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
Yeah, you know, I gotta tell you I made some
good money last year with the with the Rams too,
and I think I had I think they were plus
four to one to win that division or something, right, Right,
I'm not really so worried like maybe everyone else might
be about Stafford. You know, he's thirty seven. I think
he's thirty. You know, I looked at this up. I thought,
(10:35):
you know, we're just getting older. I don't like Stafford.
Oh yeah, I know he's been in the league maybe
ten years. No, it was seventeenth year.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Wow, he was two thousand and uh what nine nine draft?
Speaker 5 (10:48):
I think, yeah, that's right, seventeenth year in the NFL.
Out of any quarterback in the NFL, he's probably the
most prepared going into the season. I mean, he doesn't
really need the reps and t camp or preseason. If
you guys, an'll remember Stafford in their last season on
a reel tear, throwing like fifteen touchdowns and only one
reception in his last nine games. So people forget the
(11:11):
Rams are only one play away from beating the eventual
Super Bowl champ Eagles in the Divisional round in the playoffs.
People forget that. So this year's RAMS team can be
very dangerous whole. So, but they're going to need to
keep Stafford one hundred percent. So, but I'm kind of
fine with the being precautious and with him in training
camp in preseason right now.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Right, yeah, go ahead, Jeff, I don't think he needs
the reps right now, crack. But the thing that worries
me is that, like, when you have a back injury
this time of year, what are you going to have
in November in December? Like God, I think is the
concern for me is like you just if you're starting
the season with a bum back, it doesn't get better
throughout the season. And I think that's what concerned to
(11:53):
me is is what does this become for the rest
of the season now?
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Yeah, And that's what I think too, is at his
age and his injury history, I go back to his days,
he's a tough as nails quarterback. Doubting is you know
his you know, physical strength or toughness or anything like that.
But the amount of injuries he suffered while with the Lions,
in particular, like the beginning of his corrupt Yeah, he
(12:19):
got beaten up year in and year out. That guy's
dragging his spleen around. He was a lot like Andrew
Luck at the beginning of his career in Indianapolis, and
those injuries catch up with you the older that you
get while you're still active. My gosh, he's still playing quarterback.
You know what's crazy too, is if you just look
at Jeff. You mentioned the Rams, and you mentioned the
(12:40):
forty nine ers, right, if you're thinking about playing the
AFC NFC West Futures market, it's wild to meet just
these three games that differ. If you look at teams
in the same division, if you play a first play
schedule or a last play schedule, it affects three games.
Everything else is the same in terms of your opponents.
Listen to the Rams first play schedule, They're at the Eagles,
(13:03):
at the Ravens, and they host the Lions. Okay, that's
that's tough. You look at the Niners, they're three games
that are different. Last place schedule at the Giants, at
the Browns host the Bears. That's a lot more favorable.
Just those three games that could be enough to swing
things in the standings. So something to keep an eye
(13:23):
on right there.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
That's why I like the Niners to go over the
win total, but I actually like the I like the
Rams to go deeper in the postseason.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Yeah, no, I totally hear you on that, all right, Yeah,
here where you're coming from, we we're often running here.

(15:56):
you to NFL training camp, and I don't know if
it's just me, I would imagine you guys have heard
a lot of this. You turn on a sports talk
show or turn on sports television and there's a lot
of reaction of quarterback stat lines from training camp. I'm
(16:18):
just looking at this, and I'm like, is this what
we really want to be doing? Do you want to
be forming like strong opinions about what a quarterback's going
to do or not do come regular season based on
his training camp stat lines like Caleb Williams, Bears quarterback,
he threw a couple of picks, Like, oh, what does
this tell us? It doesn't tell me a whole heck
of a lot. It's training camp. I thought Aaron Rodgers
(16:39):
said it best. So he threw an interception on Thursday.
It's his first pass in training camp, and he said,
it's good to get that out of the way. Anybody
that's watched me practice over the years, you try to
take certain that you try to You like to try
certain throws at times. So it's basically saying you're working
out the kinks in training camp. That's what you do, right.
(17:02):
So I don't know why we would, you know, form
these strong stances based on what quarterbacks do or don't
do in training I'm silly.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
All right. So a couple of things here. Air rodgers
first pass was not anything he was working on. It
was a bad pass. Like, let's not pretend like that.
That's a great excuse, but that's not what happened on
that situation. So a couple of things here. Absolutely, there
are things you're working on in a given day as
a quarterback, and you're gonna throw interceptions. That's just what
it is. I actually like to see that sometimes, right,
(17:33):
because that means you're throwing the ball down the field.
For the most part, you're trying to make plays down
if I actually find it suspect when I when no
one throws interceptions in the entire training camp, I'm like,
are they really push the ball down the field? They're
trying to make plays? Are they trying to take the
conservative route? You know, Rogers, if you pick on the
first play like it was a bad throw, Patrick que
undercut it, and it was. It was that simple. But
(17:53):
also again, it doesn't matter if if you throw twenty
seven passes in a day and you have one interception
in practice, like whatever. Man. What I find more concerning
is the reports that Kayleb Williams is just sort of
not playing well yet. And you know, Brian and correct,
(18:17):
you sort of know when a guy has it and
he doesn't have it. And I just don't like to
hear this again from Kayleb Williams, Like you know, the
guys that cover the team, they've seen a lot of football.
You've seen a lot of quarterbacks. I'm still high on
Kaeleb Williams. And it's early in camp, and it's a
it's a new offense and defense is always ahead offense
early in camp. But we really are not hearing that
about anyone else. We're not hearing about Drake may Right,
(18:40):
we're hearing that about about you know, any of the
Jayden Daniels in the year two. But it's just that
that worries me more than the interceptions. I don't can
care less of interceptions. I can care less about charting
reps of Brown's quarterbacks at practice, Like whatever, Man, it's
so unimportant. What is important is how the people who
(19:01):
have seen good quarterback play are talking about quarterbacks in
trade camp. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
You know a lot of NFL quarterbacks have struggle during
their rookie seasons make a big jump in their second year.
So what we'll see about Kaylee Williams and if he
can make that jump this year. I have no doubt
about his skill set and physical you know, and physically
being able to do everything that NFL quarterback needs to
do to be successful in the league. I'm just worried
(19:28):
a little bit about his mental game. I know a
lot of Bears fans are not that excited about their
new coach Johnson. It's Ben Johnson over there, and wanted
to new wanted to coach with maybe more of head
coaching experience, even to help Williams this year, help guid
him a little bit. But personally I'm on the Bears
under and I think that this team will struggle again
(19:49):
this year. However, I know some sharp guys that are
actually on the Bears over. I think the Bears are
gonna have a good season. So, uh, you know it
a lot of times it's it's it's tough when I
don't like when opposing sharps are on the opposite sides
of anything, It's like, what.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Do we look at differently?
Speaker 5 (20:09):
What is my team looking at differently that they're looking
at to be on the opposite side, And yeah, it
I know, Like you know, I worked for one of
the sharpest guys in the world in this in this
game for over a decade, Billy Walters, and Billy didn't care.
Like Billy never cared. He used to actually tell me, crack,
(20:30):
I don't care.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Just get me why. He wanted to look.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
There was a Russian group, he said, crack, just let
me know what the Russians are on.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Now.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
The Russians were these kids out of New York that
were total total geniuses and uh, and they were winning, winning,
winning group. They killed some baseball things over the years.
They killed totals over the years of football, and uh,
that was seemed to be the only group that that
he was concerned about.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
So, but he's always he always one of the things
he always.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Said was I don't care what they're We have the
best guy, best guys I should say that are working
for us, and they're the guys I go by the
other guys that maybe millions of dollars. That's what he
used to say. He was right, he was right. So
but however, I still concerned. One people are playing over bears.
(21:18):
Maybe the unders moved so much that the over becomes
a value. And I'm not saying opposed to that. In
other words, when I bet a game plus two or
plus three, let's say, and it goes to minus one,
maybe the other side of the game now is right
four points. So it's the only way to bet. You
can't take the plus three and then lay minus one.
(21:39):
You just can't do it. There's sometimes both sides of
the game are correct after the move.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
I on the short syndicate very very professional, using numbers
and everything, and I uses my spreadsheets. I don't talk
to the Russians, unfortunately. The Bears just are just to stay away.
I just don't know what they're going to be this season.
They're playing a very tough division. They've added a lot
of pieces that I like offensively, especially the offensive line.
I think they've done a good job of building the
(22:06):
roster around Kampae Williams to give him the most success possible.
But again, I just need to see, like I need
to see it, right if I'm if I miss on them,
that's fine. I miss on them like that, that's okay
with me. And I just want to see it. And
it's also look the entire season, you have opportunities to
break in and get some of these numbers at different prices, right,
(22:27):
I mean you can wait and take the Bears over
at some point during the season. If they start slow
or whatever, they're just gonna be way over their skis.
You can take a different point. I just I just
don't know right now what they're gonna be, and so
I'm just gonna stay away. I'm okay with with that
idea of just not playing the Bears at the moment.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
Yeah, hard launch to start the season in their their division.
Like you're mentioning, Jeff, where first game of the season
Monday night they host the Vikings and then they're at Detroit.
So those are and I know.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Crack has has the vikings already right for week one, Yes.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Yes, MGM, listen, bet MGM still I think now it's
minus dollar twenty finally, but they had the only plus
one and a half, and as far as even two
days ago they still had the plus one and a half.
I mean there was there was even some ones coming
up on the other side. The Minnesota was favorite. So
that's already though that that's like one of my interesting
(23:22):
bets here because like I said, I know people that
are against the Bears. I'm sorry, I'm the Bears in
that game. Also, I'm trying to to go to the
line here. Yeah, so Chicago pick them all over the city,
bet MGM minus one and a half even which means
Minnesota plus one and a half minus a dollar twenty.
Speaker 2 (23:42):
There's not even a one on my screen anymore.
Speaker 5 (23:45):
I mean, it's all pick them's, literally, and then some
of the places far off have the Minnesota minus one.
So very interesting that that MGM is taking that stance
on that opening Bear game something I may question and
if Christian's coming on today, I may question them on
that already, because you wonder why they wouldn't conform with
(24:08):
the market unless they have a big presence in Illinois,
which sometimes, like I know they have a big presence
in Michigan and they get so much Detroit Lion actually
even the college games that they have to school the
lines a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
But yeah, we're gonna go with Minnesota. That game. It's
in Chicago.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
I'm sure the fans will be all pumped up Monday
night football, but there will be some Minnesota fans there.
They travel to Chicago for this, so it should be
a I'm looking forward to.
Speaker 2 (24:39):
This, guys. I wish this was here.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
I wish preseason here, what Week one was here already,
not just our Thursday night game here, but week one, two,
and three, and get into the regular season and enjoy
those Sundays and Mondays and Thursdays.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Yeah, I'll say real fast where it's kind of interesting
where this week the word from Bears camp was that
they want Caleb Williams to complete seventy percent of his passes.
And you think last season he was at sixty two
point five, so they want him to ramp it up
to seventy percent completion rate. Now, I don't think that's
like what are they doing there? But I also think
(25:15):
that this is a guy number one overall pick right
under the spotlight, you know what I mean, under the microscope,
got sacked sixty eight times last season. They did upgrade
the interior offensive line quite a bit, and like Jeff said,
he's got a good supporting cast around him, so it's
go time for him. But I just found it interesting
(25:35):
where it's like they're not really letting him ease in now.
It's just like, here's something more, here's something more on
your plate, Caleb Williams. I don't know if that's the
wisest approach. Do you hear the Washington Commanders saying, hey,
we want Jaden Daniels at seventy percent completion rate this year,
who was way better last season. You know, Like, I
don't know that that's the best approach for the Bears
(25:56):
to be. Like, I think goals are fine, but in
this case, when Caleb Williams was such a disappointment last season,
and I don't want to make sound like his numbers
were in the toilet, yeah, because they weren't. But he
left a lot to be desired and Jade Daniels was
clearly better. And the word this week is we want
to met seventy percent. There were five guys last season
(26:16):
that reached seventy percent completion rate.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
I'm okay with at least setting that tone of like,
I think it's more about just like take the easy ones,
you know, like like like we're gonna give you those layups,
take those lamps. Especially in this offense that if it's
designed like I think it's gonna be designed, they're gonna
be easy layups. Man, there's gonna be the RPO throws right,
the easy access throws. There's gonna be a lot of
play action pass, a lot of the pocket type of
(26:41):
stuff where you just are reading one defender right the
linebacker is, you know, plays back, you hit underneath and
if he plays up, you hit the guy behind him. Like,
there's gonna be a lot of that this season, where
it's just half field reads or just one specific player.
And so I think they want him to have the
mindset of just taking the easy throw, taking what's there.
Get your mind of just take the five yard, just
(27:02):
take the seven yard. I mean, when Mahomes decided that
was gonna be what he is as a quarterback, he
was better. He's been better since he started doing that,
and that's the mindset that Williams I think has to have,
and that's I think what to me, that's what they're
trying to do here, Brian is they're just trying to
put that in his head of being more efficient. And
I agree. I mean, no one else has said this
(27:23):
about their quarterback. But then again, Jay Daniels didn't need
that he because he already does that already. And and
look again, I think he that Williams is going to
still be good in the NFL. But I will give
this this word of caution. Most draft classes there's just
one quarterback that's good, like great, all time greats. Very
(27:44):
rare do we get multiple all time greats. And so far,
Jane Damiels looks like he's the great of this group.
And I'm not saying Drake May can't can't be good,
or I'm not saying that you know that the Williams
can't be good, but there it's an uphill battle when
you already have I think the one in the class
that showed so far that they're the best player.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 4 (28:06):
Yeah, I think you can. I'll just say I think
you can put it in Caleb William's head without putting
it out publicly, Like what's the benefit of putting it
out publicly?
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Oh yeah, I mean that's that's fair. I guess there
are times that you but maybe just to keep him accountable,
keep everyone accountable and what the plan is for him.
I'm with you that I think sometimes coaches probably share
too much with that information. But that's my guess. It's
just to keep to keep him or keep them accountable
to what the goals are. I'm going to make it
(28:37):
know to everyone. That's why I think he said that.
But this is the thing about you know, kind of
first time coach, right like you're gonna say things sometimes
you probably maybe wish you didn't put out there in
this might be situation where he's saying something as that
first time coach that he looks back and says, you know,
maybe I should have said that.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah, maybe, like that rookie mistake right there. But you
also mentioned Jeff moving the pocket. That's what we try
to do here with our Fox Sports radio team when
it comes to our quarterback Isaac Lowan Crown. When he
gets outside the pocket, he can throw off the platform.
That's where the magic happens. He's with us this morning,
I low with the latest.
Speaker 7 (29:13):
On the Aaron Rodgers of the ankle. Oh, never mind,
that's probably that comparison. No iahuasca for me, baby. We
actually good morning, Fels, We actually do have fresh NFL
news on this early Sunday morning. Is today, Washington Commander's
star receiver Terry McLaurin reported to training camp, ending his
holdout without a contract extension. However, McLaurin was then subsequently
(29:36):
placed on the physically unable to perform list because of
an ankle injury. In Major League Baseball, on Saturday night,
Cal Waally of the Seattle Mariners became the first of
the majors to forty home runs at a seven to
two victory over the Angels in Anaheim. The Mets one
in San Francisco, two to one for a six game
wedding streak. Red Sox over the Dodgers four to two,
despite Shohey O'tani hitting his thirty eighth home out of
(29:59):
the season and is sixth in seven games. The Red
Sox Garrett Crochet struck out ten and six innings for
the win to improved to twelve and four. Cubs over
the White Sox six to one behind home runs by
Ian Happ and rookie Matt Shaw. Shaw by the way
since the All Star Break, hitting four seventy eight with
four home runs and nine RBI.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Cubs tied for first.
Speaker 7 (30:18):
Place in the ANL Central with the Milwaukee Drewers after
they lost to Miami seven to four, and the Texas
Rangers got in game winning RBI single in the bottom
of the ten thing by Marcus Simeon for a six
to five win over the Atlanta Braves, and the Rangers
are now on a five game winning streak.
Speaker 1 (30:34):
Guys, back to you.

rough week in terms of some big names passing away.
We had Ozzy Osbourne, Hulk, Hogan, Malcolm Jamal Warner who
played the character theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show all
passed away terrible news. I was curious. We did this
(31:18):
yesterday on Countdown with the Jared and Rich. I was
curious with you guys, of the three between Ozzy, Hulk,
and we'll say theo Huxtable, right, Yeah, which one of
those three did you spend the most time with over
the years, whether you're listening to Ozzie's music or watching
pro wrestling or watching this sitcom? Who was on your
(31:39):
list the most there?
Speaker 1 (31:40):
Jeff, I mean it was Hogan, but not by a lot.
I didn't watch WWE till the Attitude era, so Hogan
was a slightly part of that, but not really. And
so that's that's my My wrestling years were essentially you know, Stonecold,
Steve Austin on Triple H and the Generation X and
(32:02):
Undertaker and Kane all that stuff like that was you
know when when you know they're just like if you're
a ten year old boy, you're just giving the symbol
from from excera everyone like that was what That's what
I watched for about four years. So you know, but
Hogan made appearances here and there, and then I think,
you know, you know, it's funny because for both Hulk
(32:24):
Hogan and Ozzy Osborne and you know, my like teenage years,
those two families were on reality TV, like they were
the first ones to like have reality TV show. I
watched the Osbourne reality show much more than ever consumed
any of his music, which which is probably killing crack
right now by saying that. But I just like the
(32:45):
reality TV part of their lives. I probably followed them
more through that than I did at any of their professions.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
Yeah, it was easily Ozzy for me. I grew up
an Ozzie fan, being a a ten year old kid.
I lived in a beach town and I literally would
walk down to the boardwalk every day. I worked there
since I was nine years old, and I would have
my little boombox with crazy Train on the Blizzard of Oz.
My father, Oh my god, my father thought that he
(33:15):
just thought the Satan took over. He was because that
was the portrayal of Ozzy on the cover of the
album on TV. So he just thought that he they
my parents were nervous for me because of Ozzy. Without
a doubt, that was the I mean, I played Ozzie everywhere.
I loved Ozzy as a kid growing up, and then
(33:36):
my wife became a bigger Ozzie fan than me. I
took her to go see him at one time. We
got to go see him, which was great. And I
had something set up here with someone in town that
Zach Wilde is a guitar player, had him set up
here to go backstage and he canceled the show and
my wife was devastated. I had her to some of
(33:58):
her favorite bands. I got her to meet backstage, good connections,
and then just paying, to be honest with you, Kiss,
I paid to go backstage.
Speaker 2 (34:05):
And meet Kiss and she got to meet them.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
But she met Motley Crewe a couple of times, and
she loved that type of music and me too.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
But I'm out of it now. I would rather.
Speaker 5 (34:14):
Listen to like a Billy Joel or a matter of fact,
Chuck Banji owned also.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
A name that died. You know, A big jazz guy.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
Feels So Good was his top hit play trumpeter, composer, great,
great on jazz guy. But I'm more of that type
of stuff now. I find myself now more than ever
though listening to other podcasts that are going to help me.
I really don't listen to twenty podcasts during the season
that are just fictional, never fictional. But that'll just talk
(34:46):
about But I like right now and going into football,
it'll start to change a little bit. But the whole
summer and stuff. I listened to other Vegas podcasts. I
listened to some mob podcasts and stuff.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
But as far as music, though, I'm sad to.
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Hear this, I'm sad to hear this. Correct, well, yeah,
I gets it. Back to your rock roots over you.
We gotta get I.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Don't spending like heavy metal no more. I know, I
don't like like they. There's a big rumor here and
it's probably more than a rumor that Metallica is yeah,
and and like.
Speaker 4 (35:18):
You wouldn't go see them.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Crack Life loves them. It's just too loud for me.
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
I don't know. If you make enough money to afford
a Metallica ticket at the Sphere, they're going to be
like a dime. Yeah, yeah, oh for sure. I mean
I told you Backstreet Boys for like a ticket that
I would want to it was like eight hundred bucks
for like an area that I think I would want
to sit in. It was more like higher up, like
to be able to see everything, not not down low
where you can't see anything in the sphere. So uh,
(35:45):
I mean, I can't only imagine what what metallica. I
will say though, the videos from from the Battery Boys
contract the sphere look kind of fun, like people are
enjoying themselves. I kind of I'm kind of bummed my
wife didn't come out with me last week and we
didn't go. That was sort of the plan.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
I don't think I know a single song about you.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
Brian, Oh, you definitely know, you know, you know, you
would know Craft.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
You just probably are not paying attention as much, but
you would know all their songs.
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Let me just finish this part too with Hulk Hogan
because I was down in Tampa with my brother he
wanted to go. I wasn't really inter wrestling, but yet
I do know. Of course, Hulk Holgan I did watch
when I was a kid. Uh So I do know.
I went back then with Bob Backlan and Bruno sat Martino,
all those guys. But I went to go see Hull
Holgan and the other guy Rick Flair to get and
(36:30):
met them at Tampa Hard Rock. They were so nice,
very nice to the fans, nice to people. Great And
that's a terrible loss. Really, I really feel bad. Hulk
Hogan was a big American fan, just a fan of America.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
So uh he was a real American, wasn't it, real
American hero?
Speaker 5 (36:48):
Just just a but he put it out there a lot. Yeah,
the Hulkster with his American things.
Speaker 4 (36:53):
And it's crazy though what you said though crack where
everybody has a bad autograph story. You know, they bumped
into a player that they really admired. He blew them
off for what people do not forget that, and if
you have a good experience, people don't forget that either.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
Man.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
It goes a long long way. I just think real
fast with Ozzy. If you think about Ozzie's staying cool
for so many decades and staying true to his roote,
the principles the rock music. But he was cool throughout.
Like he's doing a song in recent years with post below,
he was still cool the whole time. I actually spent
(37:28):
the most time with theo Huxtable.
Speaker 2 (37:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
I was a big fan of the Cosby Show growing up,
so yeah, shout out to all three and of course
thoughts and prayers to their family members. You know there's
a real loss with all three of them. We turned
the page. Here on countdown, We've got Bill Krachenberger, professional
sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran. I'm Brian
Nell coming up next to Parlay Platter. We each have
(37:51):

Ah, Yes, the Parlay Ladder. Weach have one selection for you.
We pull it together for a greater payout. Crack, we

Speaker 2 (38:49):
Yeah, let's go to baseball. I'd love to go to
a future instead. Button.
Speaker 5 (38:56):
Let's let's go with Seattle and I. When you thought
I was with you guys at dinner, I showed you guys.
Uh bet I made on Seattle to win the World Series,
you know, just to make the playoffs to some pretty
decent odds.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
But yeah, let's let's go with the Mariners today. And
uh yeah that starts out my end at the parley
back Harley flatter.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
So you like them, you like them to win the
game out right?
Speaker 2 (39:18):
Hyeah? Okay, there you go.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Well, a couple of things here. One is that I
could I could just take the over on Thursday night
in the Hall of Fame game board. I'm not quite
there yet. I'm not going there yet, knockquing there yet.
I haven't done the full like sit down, like look
at at the information for that game yet. I'm not
I'm not quite there yet. I'm making cracks play right
now on the on the Mariners quickly before I forget.
(39:42):
The other one is is Briant our favorite our favorite
wager is not up yet? Cardoso for the Sky there
are no player points up on bet MGM. Yet for Cardoso,
the opposing center against the Fever guy scores all the
points every game. Just f yi. That goes up with
some take her over. I do like the Fever today
(40:03):
minus nine and a half, though for the parlay platter.
A couple of things here. One, the Sky might be
without Angel Rees again. If they are, they've lost both
games in the last week by forty points. They're out
Atkins also and Vanders thought out for the year, so
three top scores could be out for the game. But
more importantly, the Fever take this game seriously. It's a
(40:24):
rivalry game for them. They beat the Sky by thirty
points without Caitlin Clark way back like two months ago.
I think this matters to them, Brian. They're not as
good on the road as they are at home, and
they're on the road here in this one. But they
just beat the Ages the other day. I like the
Fever to cover this game. Mine's nine and a half.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
Yeah, Sky are bad and they're banged up. That is
not a good combination. So I hear you, I'm gonna
go to baseball here. I'm gonna take a prop here.
I like Tiger's pitcher Jack Flaherty over one and a
half earned runs given up. Okay, the blue Jays are
hot seventeen and four this month, best record in MLB
(41:04):
in July. The Tigers are ice cold man. They've lost
twelve of thirteen. They're not scoring, and this is a
rough spot for Jack Flaherty where each of his last
seven starts he's given up at least two runs. So
we need two runs from the blue Jays against Jack Flarity.
He has not been good for a while. Again, his
(41:25):
ERA is close to five this season. I don't see
how he comes in and just shuts down the Blue
Jays who have been scoring runs consistently this month. So
I'll take that. I'll take Jack Flaherty over one and
a half earned runs. So we play all three of these,
we're at plus four oh three. We'll have four to
one cash right there, go very nice?
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (41:47):
Coming up next, we get contract stalemates on the way.
Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you. I
hope your day is going great so far. We'll get
to contracts stalemates in just a few seconds. Hey, be
sure to check out the Fox Sports Radio YouTube channel.
(42:08):
Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube and you'll see
a whole bunch of video highlights from our shows. And
be sure to subscribe so you always have instant access
to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Okay, contract stalemates,
we start with good news. One that's over with. That
would be defensive lineman Shamar Stuart, rookie defensive lineman, first
round pick. He finally has an agreement with the Bengals,
(42:30):
four year deal, fully guaranteed. Just under nineteen million dollars
is his contract, and thank goodness, the saga is over.
My gosh, you talk about dragging things out the Bengals.
If you want to hear a SoundBite of a dysfunctional organization,
this is top shelf. So this was Mike Brown, the
(42:52):
Bengals team owner. This was earlier in the week, So
this is before they hammered out the deal with Shamar Stewart.
He's talking publicly about Yeah, I don't even know why
we're doing this in the first place. Here they're arguing
about language and if Shamar Stewart gets suspended for some reason,
like Mike Brown doesn't want to pay this guaranteed money.
That was part of the debate here. But this was
(43:15):
Mike Brown earlier in the week talking about the contract
negotiations with their first round rookie.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
Here you go oddly something like Phil, she has.
Speaker 8 (43:24):
Never occurred in my memory with us.
Speaker 2 (43:30):
I don't think it's going to occur.
Speaker 8 (43:33):
So we're sitting here arguing, you know where, something that
I think is pretty remote. And I asked myself sometimes
why the hell we're doing it?
Speaker 1 (43:44):
But we are. Okay, But that's actually like not really
the part that it's crazy, So okay for those who
miss Yeah, this is the story. So basically, a first
round contract is guaranteed, right, and teams have put language
in the contracts where if you have a suspension or
(44:09):
you get arrested which would lead to a suspension, that
they can claw back some of that guaranteed money. All right.
The Bengals had not put that in any rookie first
round contract, and they asked Stuart to be the first
one to do it for the Bengals, like they didn't
do it last year for Mims. And so his agent
was pushing back and saying, we're not signing this contract
(44:30):
that will default if he gets suspended. Now, the suspension,
by the way, I think can be just like get
a helmet to helmet hit and they suspend you for it,
which is rare but can happen. We can claw back
some of that money. So Mike Brown said in the
same press conference that what if you went to jail,
we didn't want to pay him. Okay, now that's a
(44:53):
ludicrous thing to say about your first round pick. I
understand where you're coming from and just saying like, hey,
we want to put detect ourselves. If he gets suspended,
we don't want to pay him. That's I think perfectly
normal reasoning. But to include if he goes to jail,
and I'm thinking in my head, like what first round
picks Henry Rugs was, I believe the second round pick,
(45:13):
and they're not paying him in jail, Like you're not
you know what I mean, Like you're not getting paid
Michael Victon get paid while he was in jail. That's
a ludicrous thing to even worry about. So that's what
I thought was the oddest thing he said. Off if
you have that audio Brian as well, but that got
it for you. Play that please for you.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
Here's Mike Ground talking about jail time.
Speaker 8 (45:31):
Well, if we get a player who gets involved in
something like that or does something that is just unacceptable.
Guess what, I don't want to pay him.
Speaker 1 (45:41):
I really don't.
Speaker 8 (45:41):
If he's sitting in jail, I don't think I ought
to be paying him.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Yeah, that's yeah. I think we all agree with that there, buddy, Like,
no one disagrees with that. But to but to even
think that, like think our first round pick can go
to jail. I mean, I understand protecting yourself, don't get
me wrong, But to say that out loud for the
remember of the of your first pick of this draft,
to me is ludicrous. And so what they did was
(46:06):
what people thought that might happen. They got the language
in the contract, but they gave him a little bit
more for signing bonus immediately and the soccer Again, like
I agree with Mike Brown, I mean, to be easily
all been avoided, It just wasn't. And so that that
is is kind of ludicrous that it took this long
to figure this out.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Yeah, it seems like there are a lot more of
these contract situations ever, he hear during this time of year,
And you know, I have a question here, Jeff, are
negotiations for these guys any different than they were when
you played, and how do you and how do the
teammates view it when guys like are on the whole
lot of situations waiting for contract extension, are you guys
(46:44):
pissed off or you know?
Speaker 2 (46:46):
Like so in.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
General, I'll say this about guys waiting for contract extensions
because we have this right now with I'm sure Brian
mentioned with like Terry McLaurin and Trey Hendrickson is not
even in camp. We want guys to get paid as
much as they can we make. I mean, we're we
all root for that, but when when it comes time
to go to work and to get ready for the season,
(47:08):
I think we prefer the guys that are in the
locker room with us because we all get paid if
we all play well together, you know what I mean.
And so at some point, not right now, Terry McLaurin
and who's doing a hold in Trannicks is not there yet.
I mean, this is week one, we're not. But like
when you get to like little of August, I think
a lot of us are like all right, like we
had to come back right like it's time to come back,
get ready to play the season. The difference now cracking
(47:30):
contracts with rookies. Is when I got in the NFL
in two thousand and eight, there was no rookie wage scale.
And they weren't. They weren't. You know, you hackle over everything.
Now the contracts are uniform, and the fight now is
for two things. One it's for language, which we saw
this year in a first round pick. And now for
the second round picks, it's about guaranteed money. Up until
the season, second round picks does not have guaranteed money.
(47:52):
This is the first year guys in the second und
are getting guaranteed their their contract's guaranteed. I remember, I'll
tell you this funny story. So was seventh round pick,
pick two forty one, and I didn't sign my contract.
You didn't sign your contract till training camp. That was
the norm.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
You're in camp, you're in camp.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
No, I was like, you didn't sign your contract typically
for anyone, until you showed up like the first day
of training camp. Yep, you signed this, you know, a
form saying like you owed your contract for OTA's what
not whatever, like I insurance for him. And many times
first round picks held out for a while. You haggle
over everything. Example, my agent called me and goes Hey, man,
I get you like an extra two or four whatever
(48:30):
it was. It's like you have like four grand Wow.
He's like, you know, I got you four hundred dollars
more than the last guy did. Like that was you
haggle over everything, man, you wanted more money than the
previous guys. My signing bonus was I think four hundred
dollars more than the guy in two forty one last year.
It's just what it was. And now it's just like
guys signed within the first week of getting drafted. It's
(48:52):
very uniform.
Speaker 2 (48:53):
Now, okay, I got it.
Speaker 4 (48:54):
Yeah, it's just the Bengals man, the way they handled
that that was just so unnecessarily. There's just no better.
Speaker 1 (49:01):
That's what it was.
Speaker 4 (49:02):
Yes, And it's like for him to say, hey, if
he's involved in some domestic violence issue or if he
gets thrown in jail, I don't want to pay him,
and then his next breath is I don't think that's
ever gonna happen. It's never happened before, but you know
that would be like, I don't know the best equivalent
if you're about to get married and you make this
big deal out of like, hey, if my bride to
(49:23):
bee gets thrown in jail. I don't think I should
have to take care of everything while she's away and
then your next breath is I don't think that's ever
gonna happen. I'm just saying it's like, then, why bring
this up, Like, what are you doing right now? I
just looked at the Bengals sideways throughout that whole process.
It was completely unnecessarily difficult. There's another situation out here.
(49:46):
You could stick with the Bengals where Trey Hendrickson is
still unsigned. He doesn't have his contract extension. He said
the latest offer was atrociously low, which is a big deal.
And then also the Cowboys Micah Parsons, he's looking for
his big contract extension. And Jerry Jones. You know, Jerry
Jones is making statements publicly. We got a little bit
(50:09):
of Jerry Jones. If you need some Jerry Jones in
your life, here's his thoughts on Micah Parsons and beyond.
Check this out.
Speaker 9 (50:15):
Just because we signed him doesn't mean we're going to
have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously,
we've signed I remember signing a player for the highest
paid at the position in the league, and he got
knocked out two thirds of the year dark Prescott. So
there's a lot of things you can think about when
you're just as the player does, when you're thinking about
committing and guaranteeing money.
Speaker 4 (50:38):
Like, I get his point, but to say it publicly,
it just makes things weird. I don't know why Jerry
Jones specializes in making things weird. There's a great quote,
our great tweet actually from JJ Watt. We wrote, any
time this is sarcastic. Anytime you can publicly take a
dig at your star quarterback and star pass rusher simultaneously
(50:58):
right before the season begins, just got to take it.
And and then he wrote nothing makes guys whin a
fight for you more than hearing how upset you are
that they got hurt while fighting for you. And Michael
Parsons retweeted it, which is basically like thumbs up, JJ White,
I'm with you. I co sign that. Now we got
all this unnecessary trauma, They're still gonna pay him huge money.
(51:19):
It's not like he's gonna get this grand discount. I
don't know why Jared are gonna him Absolutely, yeah, they're gonna.
Speaker 5 (51:25):
Pay yeah two years ago.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
But every day they wait is every day. They wait,
it's more expensive.
Speaker 4 (51:35):
Dak Prescott is to say, if they got him earlier,
it would have been cheaper. They don't. They drag it out,
it's more expensive. They go into it just kind of like,
you know, do we have dude, I guess we have to,
and they make it as difficult as possible. This is
the playbook with the Cowboys. Man, It's happened time and
time again.
Speaker 1 (51:53):
It doesn't make it the right way to do things.
Speaker 4 (51:56):
It's just it's just.
Speaker 1 (51:58):
Really it just seems like bad business every time time
he does it. Jerry, of course, would much rather seem
to have to win the spotlight than win the actual,
you know, the win on the field, and it continues
to be an issue for the Cowboys. You know you
want you know, I you you really to build championship teams,
(52:18):
like you need to draft and develop your own players,
like it's a it's a big it's a it's a
when you look at the best team in the NFL, uh,
they draft and develop their own players. And Michael Parsons
is the exact guy that you want to keep in
the building as long as possible. It boosts morale for
the team that would they players know, if you put
(52:40):
in the work, they'll they'll reward you with the contract.
He obviously is a game wrecker, and the longer they
wait here, the longer it just drags out. The more
it drags down, in my opinion, team morale. It drags
down obviously, the success of your franchise. When you have
to pay him more than you could have gone him
a couple of years ago, you hurt your salary, can
(53:00):
you know? I do wonder if there's a little bit
of the Cowboys again. I thought this way for a
year now, where it's like, is Jerry waiting to see
how this year goes. If it doesn't go well, they're
just blowing the whole thing up, which is I guess
certainly possible. That's a thought I've had when it comes
to where we're at right now with the Cowboys. But
you just can't. To me, you cannot. You have to
(53:22):
pay Parsons like you have a guy who is a
game wrecker and a very important position. You have to
take care of those guys.
Speaker 5 (53:29):
Yeah, you know, this is the first year I can
remember in the past, like six seven years, I've always
had Dallas underseason wins, Dallas no playoffs, and I just
think because it's America's team and out here in Vegas
people love to bet on it, so it becomes the
value becomes betting the under. I did not bet it
(53:53):
this year. I've seen right now, I'm looking at bet ENGM.
They have the option of literally you can go from
old we're two and a half wins to under thirteen
and a half wins bedam g. Lets you choose the
alternate lines there. Let's choose the media number. It's seven
and a half over a dollar eighty five or eight
and a half under a dollar forty. So let's use
(54:14):
eight wins as the measure here. Boy, that is low.
I have went under ten and a half on the
Cowboys nine and a half. For this to be about
eight wins eight and a half wins, Wow, that is
really low for them to go under. So most people
are have caught up with this, and like I said,
(54:35):
it's the value on the under is just not there.
Speaker 2 (54:39):
Like it's been in the past.
Speaker 5 (54:41):
Maybe even the even with these distractions, maybe the over
the seven and a half might be the way to
go there. They're picked third in their division, of course,
the Eagles first, Washington second. But you know this Jerry Jones,
he gots to get involved in things like this, and
you see what happens on Twitter, and and then now
you got you know that not only JJ Watt, you
(55:01):
have Mika himself retweeting things. Who needs that in the camp?
Who needs that negativity? And why does he have to
get involved in everything?
Speaker 1 (55:09):
Probably loves it.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
He loves it.
Speaker 1 (55:11):
He loves he loves the he loves the drama. Man,
he must. There's no other way to explain the constant
need to make himself part of this other than he
just loves his name being out there. He loves the
drama of this. He just loves that everyone's talking about
the cowboys. And I think he truly believes that any
press is good press, which we know sometimes I mean, yeah,
(55:31):
surely can be true, but it does feel like he
really fundamentally believes that any good press is all right
to any press at all is good for his team, love,
good for him, his brand, whatever whatever you want to
you know, whatever, how everyone explain, but it does feel
like he firmly believes that.
Speaker 4 (55:47):
Yeah, and listen, this has happened time and time again.
You go all the way back to EMMITTT. Smith, right
where he missed the first two games of the nine
and then then got his money. You go back to
Ezekiel Elliott and somebod Jerry Jones' statements are hilarious now
where he's dragging his heels right. He doesn't want to
pay Ezekiel Elliott in his statement was you don't have
to have a rushing champion to win the Super Bowl.
(56:09):
And then eventually he gave him this mega running back deal.
And then there's twenty three that was Zach Martin and
it was you got to put that one on and
say we just move on here without him. And then
he paid Zach Martin Ceede Lamb. This was last August.
I don't have any urgency to get it done. And
then he gave Ceedee Lamb a huge contract. Now Micah
(56:32):
Parsons is the next guy. He's gonna track his heels
and he's.
Speaker 5 (56:35):
Gonna get an he's gonna get a giant contract.
Speaker 1 (56:38):
Yeah, it seems like you just give him the contract
early in planet.
Speaker 4 (56:42):
Yes, but we have to. We got to take the
scenic route every time with these contract ext it's crazy
and to your point, crack maybe a little bit of
value on the over because that's such a low win total.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
Wow, weld forget a decade.
Speaker 4 (56:56):
Dak Prescott played eight games last season.
Speaker 1 (56:59):
Yeah, I don't. I don't disagree with that idea that
they're going to be better than we think. But I
just I I it's not like a bell end all
for me, but I kind of need to trust the
head coach. When I bet went over, I don't know
if I trust Shaanheimer. Like that's a big part of it.
You know, Like the Cowboys are actually, I think, pretty
(57:20):
talented as a team when you look at like as
as a whole. Yeah, I just don't trust their coaching staff.
I just don't trust Shaunheimer. Okay, that's why I stit
away from the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (57:32):
Did you just a question? Did you trust Mike McCarthy
when they're going twelve and five three straight years?
Speaker 1 (57:37):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (57:38):
You did.
Speaker 1 (57:39):
My point of McCarthy's always been like he has been
a he was a good coach everywhere like he's been
he Yes.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
Much better track record than Shoddy, sure, Yes, no doubt
about that. Okay, take that into account for sure. Like
it it's We've got Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff

This follow the money, real good money.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
Ah.
Speaker 4 (59:14):
Yes, we're welcoming in our guy, Christian Sepalini, bet MGM
Trading manager, joining us here on countdown. Good morning, Christian.
You know Hall of Fame game on Thursday, We're just
four days away from football going on here? Can you
give us an idea of what like a typical Hall
of Fame game handle the money generated in bets would
(59:35):
rival if you compare it to like an MLB game
NBA game, What would be like a decent comparison what
you expect for that handle for the Hall of Fame game?
Speaker 10 (59:47):
Yeah, so this one will definitely be interesting because if
you look at a sports calendar, there are only three
MLB games on that day, there's one WNBA game on,
so it's a really really light sports calendar. So imagine
this here. It'll be our most fed on game of
the day, just judging by the little amount of content.
But the Hall of Fame game is the one that
definitely takes the least amount of action. There's the least
(01:00:08):
amount of starters playing. But again, football is king, so
it will still get up there with an MLB game
of that day and it will probably be you know,
this year, for sure it'll be number one, but if
it was a full MLB slate, it would still be
towards the top.
Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
What do you get for the rest of preseason? Is
Week one or Week two? The big preseason weeks, I
mean week three. If you're betting on Week three, God
bless you. I don't know. I don't know what what
handicap that would be. But where do you see the
most of the preseason action come in?
Speaker 10 (01:00:41):
Yeah, with the schedule changing around over the last couple
of years, it has changed. But now preseason game two
now seems to be the one that the starters get
the most play in, So that's the one that ends
up the most action. Now, obviously this used to be
Week three from years before before they get rid of
that extra preseason game. But yeah, the third week is
the one that will take the least amount of action,
(01:01:01):
just because there is so much unknown. We'll end up
listing a lot less market, so this will be, you know,
pretty small offering compared to the rest, just to get
the same with us, you know, we have just as
little information as the public would have in those week
preseason week three games.
Speaker 5 (01:01:18):
Christian, I mentioned you earlier in our show and I
was going to ask you this question about these teams,
like I'll even use this Hall of Fame game. I'm
guessing because you have a big presence in Michigan. You
guys have the only one and a half on the
market out there at Detroit. There's pick ems here at
the Sharp Book in Vegas, and even in general, there's
(01:01:41):
pick'ms across the board, maybe a couple ones, but dog money,
you guys have the one and a half out there,
and I'm guessing that game because of the Michigan market.
Same thing with opening Monday night football. Nobody has a
one and a half on the game between Minnesota and
Chicago and Chicago and you guys haven't wanted it. There's
(01:02:01):
a lot of pick thems out there, and you guys
have one and a half on Chicago. I was kind
of maybe guessing the same thing there is am I thinking, right, yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:02:10):
A little bit and it's also just one where we're
kind of just taking a bit of a stance. Now
we are juiced a bit more towards the Chargers, but
this is one where you know, we're just probably not
trying to put a flat number out there, more of
just put a half number out. We'll stay a little
bit on the side of the you know, where we
think we'll take the action, and more so just so
(01:02:30):
it doesn't end up a push, especially in a preseason game.
Pushing the preseason game will be tough, So you know,
we feel like we have the ability to kind of
just go out just an extrapp point.
Speaker 5 (01:02:39):
Okay, yeah, because the one is such an important number preseason.
To have the one and a half there, I would
think it's a little little bit dangerous, but I got
you a good deal, Ran.
Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
How about Christian football around the corner, I always think
of season win totals. Is there a popular bet, like
anything that's gotten a decent amount of play, some traction
where over or an under on a team win total
that's at least caught your attention where you're like, that's
kind of interesting right there.
Speaker 10 (01:03:07):
Yeah, there's always a few that kind of start and
you can started sometimes start to see little trends of
certain teams popping up. Like one that's been pretty popular
throughout this preseason just has been the Bears with a
new coach. Usually that quarterback in the year two is
one where there's a projected leap. So we've definitely seen
(01:03:27):
some on the Bears and then the teams that are
you know, it's projected to be bad and having some
you know issues throughout the Browns being one where we've
definitely seen a lot of unders. And now that you
know they drafted a rookie running back who's gotten in
some trouble and could be suspended, some people see that
as an opportunity to take some uh some unders on there.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
I want to head it to baseball quickly. The Aaron
Judge news has moved the al MVP market. So you
guys have Aaron Judge at minus one twenty, you now
have Kyl Rawley it minus one to fifteen. I just
want to where where was Raleigh yesterday before the Judge
news broken? And how much are you saying action on
him now?
Speaker 10 (01:04:08):
Yeah, this was the one that we really didn't want
to happen. After a few weeks ago, there were there
were definitely a lot of betters that were able to
get Rally at a really good price. Yeah, like forty
to one, fifty to one a few weeks back, kind
of when he was really starting to get on a roll,
and you know, Judge just had such a big lead
from starting off the season with you know, batting close
(01:04:28):
to four hundred for a few months there, and you know,
we felt pretty safe. We're just basically saying, you know,
we just can't have an errand Judge injury and this
is basically the worst case scenario for us now because
now we're into a pretty tight race, especially if Judgments
is some more games, you know, Raley's going to end
up being the favorite and we have a lot of
liability there.
Speaker 1 (01:04:48):
So I'm not.
Speaker 10 (01:04:50):
Exactly sure where the price was. I know Judge was
a decently bigger favorite, probably about minus one fifty ish
minus one seventy five or something like that. But yeah,
that injury news is in the last thing we wanted
and it was the one thing that could definitely change
this race around them.
Speaker 5 (01:05:04):
Christian give us and the people listening, uh some insider
information here. How does it work with the trading team,
with the trading desk, on a Saturday or a Sunday.
Where does some of your traders that work for you
and come to you and say, hey, we have so
much money on this particular team. You know, do they
(01:05:26):
ask you or do they auto move?
Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
When?
Speaker 5 (01:05:28):
When do you get involved in some personal decision making
or do you just trust your team to move on
bets and and and to you know, or do you
guide them at all at all?
Speaker 2 (01:05:40):
Do you get involved?
Speaker 10 (01:05:42):
Yes, I mean it can be on a case by
case basis. So a lot of times with the MLB,
you know, the volume isn't going to be a tie
is something for an NFL game, And a lot of
times for something like an MLB will take information that
essentially you will give us. You know, we'll look at
the shark betters and see where they're betting, and you know,
our traders know for those type of games to be
leaning in the direction of where the sharp betterers are
(01:06:05):
kind of telling us where to go, so they'll tendant
lean on that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
More.
Speaker 10 (01:06:09):
More of the decisions will come during football season, just
because so much more money comes in and there's a
lot more business decisions that might need to be had.
There might be you know, specific teams that we want
to lean in a certain direction just because of the
action we know we'll get, whether that's casual public money
from the state that we're big in or just a
very popular team. You know, those are more of the
times where we'll make kind of bigger decisions. So MLB
(01:06:33):
on a normal Saturday like this, you know, a college
basketball where there's hundred plus games, you know, we're really
taking the sharp. The sharp players' opinions really is the
number one thing that will drive us a lot of times.
Speaker 4 (01:06:45):
Okay, before you go, Christian, how about this a listener question.
Peter checks on X and just wrote, maybe ask the
bet MGM guy why there's no Cardoso props on any book?
What the hell that might be Jeff's berner a count.
I'm not sure, but Pete wants to know with Camilla
Cardoso of the Sky, why there are no props on
(01:07:06):
her right now?
Speaker 10 (01:07:08):
I will I will when I get off this call,
I will look into what is going on. I cannot,
unfortunately gets the why. There's probably injury news or something
like that, and this there's nothing like that. I will
make sure we have something up there.
Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
It's because they're waiting for Angel Reese's injury status. That's
the reason why. But I I was gon I was
gonna put in a parlay platter. It wasn't available yet.
It will be up. It'll be up at some point
today after they announce that she's playing or not. There
you go, yeah, very nice, definitely is it all right? Christian?
Speaker 4 (01:07:38):
Well, great stuff as always, But have a great day,
great week, and enjoy the Hall of Fame game. Right
football back. That's good for you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:07:45):
It's right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
There. There we go.
Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
Nice you too. There he is Christian Cippolini bet MGM
trading manager, joining us here on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
Very nice.
Speaker 4 (01:07:56):
It's my favorite part of the show when we go
from heavy hitter to heavy hitter, from c Billini to Lowenkron.
Huh you talk about it. I'm surprised you guys haven't
opened a law firm together, the law firm of Sipolini
and Loewen Kron. Yeah, wouldn't go there. I'd go there immediately.
Speaker 7 (01:08:11):
Who needs Ruth and Gerrig when you've got Sipoldian low
and Crod. Indeed, and you know, talking NFL with him.
How about some fresh NFL news Because Washington Commander's star
receiver Terry McLaurin today reported to training camp, ending his
holdout without a contract extension, though McLaurin was then subsequently
(01:08:33):
placed on the physically unable to perform list due to
an ankle injury. But despite that, Commander's fans gave McLaurin
a rousing welcome at training camp today when they spotted
him as he took the field to watch the practice.
In this audio courtesy of Nicky Javalla of The Washington Post.
(01:08:58):
You know it's interesting listen to that brought back memories.
Do you guys remember a program called The Jerry Springer Show.
Oh yes, whatever, a riot would break out on stage,
which would be every episode everyone Instead of like they
would always chant Jerry Jerry, but today the chant was
(01:09:20):
Terry Terry. At Washington Commander's trading camp and baseball, the
New York Yankees just officially placed Aaron Judge on the
ten day injured list with a right flexer strain. On
the field on Saturday night, the Seattle Mariners defeated the
Angels in Anaheim seven to two, headlined by cal Raley
becoming the first of the majors to forty home runs.
The New York Mets made it a six game what
(01:09:41):
eg streak with a two to one victory at San Francisco.
At the Boston Red Sox defeat of the Los Angeles
Dodgers four to two despite show Hey O'tani's thirty eighth
home run of the season and sixth in seven games,
the Red Sox Garrett Crochet struck out ten and six
innings for the win to improved to twelve and four guys.
Speaker 4 (01:09:59):
Back to you good stuff. I Low As always, it
is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by BETTMGM. Interesting story here.
You see this with the Raiders where Christian Wilkins, defensive lineman.
He was released by the Raiders. So the belief was
that Wilkins needed a second surgery on his injured foot,
and he went against that. He elected not to have it,
(01:10:21):
so the Raiders voided the thirty five million dollars in
guaranteed money left on his deal. So the question is
in Wilkins's filed aggrievance with the NFLPA, We'll see what
comes of that. But the you aside with Wilkins here
or the Silver and Black chef as a former player,
what do you think about this with the team and
the player looking at things much differently.
Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
I don't know. I don't know any of the details.
So essentially what I gather is that there was a
timeline he was supposed to be ready to play by,
and he wasn't near that timeline. And I think part
of that, as he did is rehab away from the facility,
which I have done before in the past. But I
came back to the Giants on the timeline expected to
be ready to play, and it feels like this was
(01:11:04):
not expected. He was supposed to be ready to go
now and he's not. And the Raiders wanted him to
do surgery. He didn't want to do surgery, and so
the timeline wasn't met, and they feel like he was
essentially probably not doing the rehab he like he was
supposed to be doing his rehab, and so they they
avoid look and they avoided his deal, by the way,
knowing that he's gonna sue them, like they like they
(01:11:27):
know that and so that now they'll have a fight
with with arbiter. I mean, it's that simple, Like they
knew it. They knew that if they did this, they
were gonna get sued. And now it's a matter of
obviously figuring out, you know how to move forward without
will get them. He's supposed to be a big part
of this defense. I will say this is this is important.
(01:11:49):
I said this offense, it's it's worth mentioning again this
current staff, Pete Carroll and Spytech did not sign Christian Wilkins.
They have no allegiance to him whatsoever. So they I
feel like he's not doing what they want him to do,
and they might not even think they should be paying him.
This is their way out, which is to say, hey, man,
you did do your rehabit. Look and even if they
(01:12:10):
end up settling for half of his contract, they've saved
half of the money, you know, So this makes sense
from their perspective if they really feel like he didn't
put in the work to get back on the field
in time.
Speaker 5 (01:12:22):
Yeah, this is another interesting off the field situation, and
the Raiders are making this statement here kind of avoiding
the guaranteed thirty five million in Wilkins contract. New coach
Pete Carroll and the GM there John spy Tech. They're
making it pretty clear that they aren't taking any kind
of favorites and towards any player. If you don't show,
(01:12:43):
if you don't show up. If you don't show you want,
I'm sorry. If you don't show you want to be
out there, really on the field, giving it one hundred
percent that you won't be on the team. I really
would like to add in there. I don't know why.
I'd like to know, and I expect to get it
from Jeff doesn't know. It's probably not out there. I
don't understand why he wouldn't go for that surgery on
(01:13:08):
his foot. I mean, this is the did did he
not think this is going to cost him, you know,
thirty So I.
Speaker 1 (01:13:14):
Could give you some some ideas of why.
Speaker 4 (01:13:16):
One.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
I mean, guys don't want to have surgery. They don't
want to have surgery. But you know, there's there's a
couple of thoughts here. One is that you know, he
just he was, you know, he was hopefully it would
get better. If it didn't, he would.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Just be hurt.
Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
They would pay him for the season, essentially, right, Like,
I don't want to get paid to do nothing. I
don't think that's his mindset. But certainly we've seen players
do that in the past that have drug out injuries
as long as possible just to get paid for the season.
Uh that that they're so they don't play for the team.
They don't want to play for anymore. That's one reason.
And one again, maybe he just decided that this is
(01:13:52):
gonna heal without surgery. I don't want to do it again.
We've seen that happen. But I will say that a
lot of times the surgeries that that have to heal
that have to you know, they need surgery, need surgery
for a reason, and they end up being correct. The
team does, and so they're obviously an impass here and
the Raider again, the Raiders have no emotional They did
not sign him, so they're like, all right, man, well
(01:14:13):
you're out of here. I don't see you later. Like
that's that's within their right to do obviously, and they're
not have to figure out through the through arbitration what
they owe him after all this, and they're gonna be
if there's gonna be a prolonged fight over this, it's
not gonna keep up his thirty million dollars easily tell.
Speaker 4 (01:14:27):
You that yeah, sure, yeah, that's crazy how it could
go one way or the other with the player, right
what you're explaining, Jeff, where it could have worked the
other way, where he's like, man, if I have surgery again,
the timetable of my return is way longer. I think
I can you know, heal and be ready for the season.
And he was just wrong. It could have been that
as well. But you're absolutely right about one regime to
(01:14:49):
the next. It is amazing how one regime of an
organization like coach and GM, they're like, oh, this is
our guy, let's sign Christian Wilkins this big contract extension,
and then the next regime comes in and they're like, yeah,
get rid of my Then night and day from one
regime to the other.
Speaker 1 (01:15:07):
I mean, I could see again, I could see the
Raiders looking at this and saying, like, this expensive contract
for guy that might not be playing at the level
that he was when this contract was done, and this
is a way out of it. It's kind of shady
if that's the way they really think, but I do
think that they would. I like to have them. It's
just clearly he wasn't he wasn't ready to play yet,
(01:15:29):
and I think that that messed with the timeline of
what they expected from him.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
Yeah, interesting stuff. We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper.

Iraq Play of the day and the.
Speaker 1 (01:16:22):
Three to two pinch Get high in the air.
Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
Tee Black center field, Breen, look it up into the sky.
Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
Fat ball's gone.
Speaker 1 (01:16:30):
Who needs a walk up? Big class from Vladdie. Blue
Jays go back to back. They're pouring it on into
NYE Top six. Nothing.
Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
Yeah, that's complements of the Blue Jays Radio network. Vlad
Guerrero Junior hitting a home run as the Blue Jays
continue to smack around the Tigers. My gosh, Tiger's playing
bad baseball right now. For over forty years, Tyraq has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive. Ship Fast and Free backed by
free Road, has protection with convenient installation options like mobile
(01:17:03):
tire installation, tire rack dot Com the way tire buying
should be. And we dive right on into this.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Prop it up.
Speaker 1 (01:17:13):
Don't player plays?
Speaker 4 (01:17:15):
Yes, here we go crack the prop betting market. You
live for this. What's something you like today?
Speaker 2 (01:17:20):
All right, you're gonna like this, Brian.
Speaker 5 (01:17:23):
Let's go to the Major League Baseball Detroit Tigers pitcher
Jack Flaherty over four and a half hits a loud
minus a dollar forty five today he faces one of
the hottest hitting teams in baseball, Toronto Blue Jays for
first and on base percentage and second in batting average
last month. Let's go over flowerty four and a half
(01:17:43):
hits aloud minus a dollar forty five.
Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Like it's so funny because I have I like, I
like sures are under fifteen and a half outs in
this game for the for the Blue Jays, He's only
been over five innings in one of the starts this year.
The Tigers at some point you have to imagine are
gonna hit. Maybe they're not. Do they want to get
(01:18:06):
swept in a four game series against Toronto? So I
think Surezier probably just goes five innings today. Doesn't see
the third time through the lineups. I like, sures are
under fifteen and a half outs today.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
Okay, nice, I feel like I should go with this
blue Chase, you know, Tigers game. You know I'm gonna
go to the WNBA on you. I'm gonna go with
Tina Charles. Give me over fifteen and a half points
from the Connecticut Sun over there taking on the Golden
State val Thrie. So the thing that I look at
is Kayla Thornton of the Val three south for the season,
(01:18:38):
and that's a big deal. Tina Charles is a consistent bucket.
Someone's gotta score. You have Marina Maybury back, She's gonna
check some shots up, She'll make a fair share of them,
but Tina Charles is their main score. So I like
over fifteen and a half against the team in Golden
State plays up Temple. They do play pretty good defense.
But with Kayla Thornton being out, I like to play
(01:18:59):
with Tina Charles going yelbout sixteen and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:19:01):
There you go, right, I like one more of the
w NBA that well, I mean it's not it's not
you know, the curdoson one's not up yet. Can I
interest you in in a zigzag here with Sobly for
the Mercury who was really bad?
Speaker 4 (01:19:15):
Yeah, I like.
Speaker 1 (01:19:15):
It yesterday I think they put us yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
Now, I think i'd been two days ago.
Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
Yeah, two days ago when they played the Liberty. She
came back from injuries. She was three or thirteen, zero
for six from three with just with just six points.
I like her over fourteen and a half points today again,
I like those those zigzag spots. A back off the injury,
second game, I think she'll play much better today.
Speaker 4 (01:19:38):
I just think a crack completely taking the air out
of the balloon. Notice the zig zag of it. When
the NBA playoffs, crack, I could believe that. Man, You're
you're anti zig zag over there?
Speaker 5 (01:19:52):
Huh yeah, yeah, I'm not a I'm not following any
kind of trends though. I don't want I'm not a
trend guy. Trends is for a lot of those people
that we watch on TV because they have nothing else
else to talk about to tell people with the bet on,
so they use trends betting trends which go back seasons
in decades, which means nothing because it's different squads and
(01:20:14):
different situations.
Speaker 2 (01:20:15):
If anything, the.
Speaker 5 (01:20:16):
Trend has to return to the mean the other way
in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
But that's the zigzag like it's basically, yeah, it's returning
to the.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
I got you, I got you.
Speaker 5 (01:20:26):
But but but people use trends as saying zig zag also,
and all that being that being the trends got This
is not a trend.
Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
This is just a player who played poorly last game,
I got you playing a bad team today they played
better off injury, yes yep. And the can also one
when it gets posted. I'm gonna wagering her over her points.
I just don't know when it will.
Speaker 4 (01:20:49):
Be up for you hit and refreshed. Where's card Dosa?
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
Where is you?
Speaker 9 (01:20:54):
Know what?
Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
I mean?
Speaker 4 (01:20:54):
You're ready for it, right, I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:20:56):
He was a tip off in four hours, so we
won't probably get until pretty close because they're gonna know
Angel will probably warm up and they'll be like her
back hurts, who knows. I mean, at this point, the
sky are unserious. Their winter is twelve and a half.
They got seven wins right now. I already hit it enough.
I can't play it again. But I just tempted this warning, Brian.
Speaker 4 (01:21:17):
You were you thought about going bigger on Now I
have nineteen.
Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
And a half and fourteen and a half. I'm not
gonna do it again. But I'm just telling you that
they're knock if reaches out any extent. I mean, they
don't win games when she's in. Now she's out, Atkins
is out, Vaner suits out. I just don't. I just
don't buy it. And she's one tech away from being
suspended for a game like it's like it's they're just
a mess right now they are.
Speaker 4 (01:21:38):
Yeah, it is greasefire over there all right. Coming up next,
we'll gaze into the Countdown Collective crystal Ball. That's right,
Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you, okay, fellas,
So time to look inside the Countdown crystal Ball, if
you will. Crack has been going looking at the futures
(01:22:01):
market over here, right, I like this, So if we
start with baseball. We'll work our way to college football
and maybe a little bit beyond there. But if we
look at baseball, who you like to win the AL,
who you like to win the NL? We'll start with you, Schwartz.
Syndicate you like anybody in particular in the American League
(01:22:21):
to at least into the World Series.
Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
I like the Astros. Yeah, I do need they need
one more pitcher. I'm curious what the deadline brings, which
will July thirty first, same day, by the way as
the Hall of Fame game, FYI is the deadline. It
feels like this this year is gonna be a lot.
We'll have a lot of movement. That's what it feels
like in this deadline. I've already seen some proactiveness from
(01:22:44):
the Yankees have traded I believe for two players so far, right, Brian, So,
I do think we're gonna have some movement here. But
I like the Astros. They've they've done it before, They've
been there before. They have some good starting pitching, they
got a good closer, they got good bats. Obviously health
will be important there for them as well. But aline Astros, I.
Speaker 5 (01:23:05):
Am looking I was just on MGM looking at their
current odds for American League East. A while, they went
to minus three in a quarter. Now jeesus, they were
just like minus one forty the other day. But I
guess with this Yankees injury and the Yankees doing bad,
I can't.
Speaker 2 (01:23:21):
I mean, I do think they have.
Speaker 5 (01:23:23):
A real shot here overall, but they're looking really good
lately and has momentum for the AL East.
Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
But I can't wait three and a quarter. I've just
seen that now.
Speaker 5 (01:23:32):
But they had the bats that starting pitching to get
to the World Series. They just needed to keep the
bats hot in October. Let's see what bett MGM has
them for the World Series. Plus twelve to one, they
have them. As far as the now, the best team
the last month has probably been the Brewers, now tied
for the division with the Cubs. I really expect them
to make a big move before the trade deadline. But
(01:23:53):
living in Las Vegas, like I told you, we had
the advantage of certain minds. I showed you guys at
dinner the other night. I just took advantage of I
seeing thirty to one on Seattle to win the World Series,
where other spots had fifteen to one, twenty to one.
I think BETMGM had twenty four to one Mariners, let's
(01:24:15):
check twenty two to one. But so by having those
choices around town, like I said, I just thought that
was some value on Seattle at thirty to one. But yeah,
so I'll and i'll pennant maybe the Milwaukee. I think
Toronto looks looks good here too going in, but that
doesn't take the amazing Qushkin to come up with. These
teams are doing real good right now and leading their
(01:24:37):
way right now in their division. So but yeah, that's fun,
it's fit, it's a fun thing to do.
Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
Listen.
Speaker 5 (01:24:43):
I always say it's tough betting into those markets because
if you're betting into one or one sportsbook, you have
to have multiple outs, you have to find the best
line or asure you're dealing. You're betting into double digit household.
But however, someone made disappoint to me and they're absolutely right.
Speaker 2 (01:24:59):
If you can bet on I'll even use the Yankees.
Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
Now that probably went from you know, eight to one
to win the World Series to twelve to one. Well,
if you can bet the Yankees and have fun with
that and put a token bet on that, and it
prevents you from just firing aimlessly every day on the
Yankees or on baseball in general.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
Sure you have you have a root.
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
You bet it once and you know you have one
bullet instead of betting multiple bullets on the teams every
day just because you're bored.
Speaker 2 (01:25:27):
So I have no problem with that.
Speaker 5 (01:25:29):
But uh, all right, so Brian, So what what's your uh?
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
What's your teams here? Well?
Speaker 4 (01:25:34):
You guys know, I like I like the Phillies a
lot in the NL that might pick out of there
when you have like three top of the line starting
pitchers yea, and Schwarber is out of his mind right now,
Schwarber and Bryce Harper, And I just like what the
Phillies have. And in the American League, to me, I
think it's wide open and it's funny, right if you
(01:25:56):
just start doing this exercise which teams and there are
teams that are capable. It wouldn't surprise me if a
handful of teams emerged from the AL. But who's the
one team where you feel most confident in where you're
literally walking to the betting window and saying, hey, give
me the fill in the blank. There are a lot
of teams that you're thinking about betting on as open
(01:26:19):
as it is where you're like, is this what I'm
really doing? Like, for instance, in the NL, I think
the Milwaukee Brewers have a puncher's chance, But are you
walking to the betting window and saying, give me the
Milwaukee Brewers to get to the World Series? Like that
changes the math quite a bit in my mind at least.
But I like the Phillies in the NL. I'm with you, Jeff.
(01:26:41):
I do like the Astros in the AL because I
look at them. They've got the bats and they have
like the one to two combination with Valdez and Hunter Brown,
and you got hater in the bullpen. I think that's
a great candidate to get hot at the right time.
Speaker 1 (01:26:55):
Yeah, yeah, I have the Dodgers still out west. I
think that we are looking at them not through the
right lens like they they just have to get to
the postseason like they like they know what they have
to do. Sure they have injuries, the guys will come
back and uh they have a tawny pitching now, which
(01:27:19):
is a plus for them. There might be aggressive of
the deadline. You know, Mookie Betts, if he can find
some sort of version of himself that we've seen throughout
his career. I mean last night that pitch was right
down the middle that he took from Chapman to end
the game. I mean, like he just is not is
not hitting the level he's been hitting over the years.
I something the Dodgers have a great opportunity to get
(01:27:41):
back to the World Series. And then again, I think,
but I really think you're right on Philly. I mean, Philly,
the things you like to see in a team that
have them top end pitching, they have guys that can
hit in the clutch. We know that place, and I
only home field advantage is that big in baseball, but
Philly does feel like there's a special home foot advantage
in that ballpark as well. And I do wonder if
(01:28:03):
the openness of both of these races will lead to
teams being more aggressive at the at the deadline, where
I think in previous years you might not have felt
that way, but you know, are team's going to be
more aggressive. But if you're in the AL right now,
you're like, I mean, why why on us? Right? If
you're in the NL, why on us? And I do
wonder if teams will feel that way it comes to
(01:28:25):
making some of these trades.
Speaker 4 (01:28:27):
Yeah, I like what you're saying about the Dodgers too,
because I think a lot of the way they're viewed
traces back to the expectations. Right think about what was
it crack Their season win total was like one oh
four and it's insane. Yeah, yeah, saying greatly high. So
we're looking at them. They might have a tough stretch,
lose five or six in a row, and we're like,
this is it. This is all their neck and neck
(01:28:47):
with like the Cubs and the Brewers and the Mets
with their record right now. Yeah, But I think it's
the expectations heading into the season.
Speaker 5 (01:28:55):
I mean, I think all of us on the show
talked about, uh, there's only one place to play to
make there not because it's past the point now, but
now that you've brought it up, I don't think any
of us were going over one on four and a
half of cot. I think we were on the under
all of us. I mean, that's insane, insane what people
were doing, right.
Speaker 4 (01:29:14):
But I think a lot of it traces back to
that with what Jeff is talking about, the way they're viewed, sure,
traces back to what we thought they were gonna be
and they're not there. But it's not it's not about
what we thought they were gonna be. It's about them
versus everybody else. It's them versus the competition, not how
stellar you thought they would be, and now they're kind
of disappointing. It doesn't matter when the postseason rolls around.
Speaker 1 (01:29:36):
Correct, And that's the thing about it. It's like it
for them and to me, it's just about like getting
the postseason and and then just get in right, Just
get in and you'll be fine. I think that's the
way they they're sort of viewing things right now as well.
Speaker 4 (01:29:46):
How about college football? Back to the countdown Crystal Ball.
Huh So, Texas has the shortest odds on bet MGM
to win it all. They're at plus five hundred, Ohio
State to tick more at plus five point fifty five
twenty five as the defending champs, Georgia at seven to one,
(01:30:06):
Penn State at seven to one as well, jeff Ar
Ducks and Clemson at nine to one, Bama and My
Irish at twelve to one. Anybody you like right now,
if you had to pick a team to win it all, I.
Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
Don't like doing this, I don't think, But I mean
Clemson is fairly interesting to me. Yeah, they got a
lot of returning production, they got a lot of pros.
They're gonna be a playoff team, So you feel good
about getting whatever number you can get on them, Like
they're gonna be good. So I think that that's probably
(01:30:43):
a good choice for me. Now, I mean Penn State
is very very good, but they got to win that
game first, right, Yeah, the Irish. Right now, you mentioned
the Irish. They have a true freshman quarterback. Like, probably
they're not witting a championship this year. Why, only Oregon's
quite ready for that yet. As an organ fan, Ohio
State probably is not repeating with a young quarterback as well.
(01:31:06):
So you know, Texas, if arch is as good as
they advertise, I mean, certainly possible. So I yeah, I
think I think I think Clemson's not a bad play here.
Speaker 4 (01:31:17):
Yeah, not bad in ninety one.
Speaker 5 (01:31:18):
Yeah, everyone is really really high on on Penn State
after their success last year. You know, they have their
their star quarterback, Drew Aller back and two running backs
that are that are getting all American type hype.
Speaker 2 (01:31:33):
People Also, what's that, Jeff.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
They're good. I mean they deserve the hype.
Speaker 5 (01:31:37):
The running backs to people also high on like you
guys said Texas because of arch Banning, who was favorite
to win the Heisman.
Speaker 2 (01:31:44):
I also would not leave.
Speaker 5 (01:31:45):
Out Brian's Notre Dame team like I said, uh, I
found the twenty though I think it was twenty to
one here. I think I found twenty to one. I
sent to you guys. It was just a you know,
just a worth a flyer. Of course, you got like
a Kirkie smart over on Georgia Bulldogs, who have reloaded
again and probably the probably the best SEC team on paper.
(01:32:07):
So it really is interesting to see all these good
teams this year and again just searching for those future
odds for me to make a bet on Notre Dame.
You know, you think one of these teams that are
the such public teams, it means, it means a lot.
(01:32:27):
So when you find an odds like that of twenty
to one, you know, hey, I'll put all my things
out there in front of me and all my outs,
and and if I find even on the key teams,
even if I find some value on Texas at one
shop compared to the other, I'll throw a little bet
on those type of futures. But normally don't try to
(01:32:49):
put a big percentage on my bank roll on any
future team to win the Super Bowl or national Championship.
I'd rather bet divisions and things like that, or obviously
rather be weekly.
Speaker 4 (01:33:02):
So yeah, now I like what we bringing up Georgia.
You know, I think Georgia is live to win it all.
That's to Jeff's point. That's what's so weird about college
football is you compare it to the NFL, where you
have like a first year starter in college on like
a national contending team, and it's like, what do you
have to really go on? It's a huge guessing game
(01:33:25):
where you compare that with the NFL and think of
guys like Mahomes and Josh Allen and Lamar how long
they've been doing it and how much information you have
to help you try to figure out what's a better
play than another team. It's so different in college football,
and these guys that are first year starters, they're going
to be expected to be productive and to be major
(01:33:47):
assets and to guess like is it Ohio States guy
or Notre Dame's guy they're starting for the first time.
That is a tough guessing game.
Speaker 1 (01:33:56):
Which is why, like I just can't buy Notre Dame
for that reason. I just I just don't like true
true I mean true freshmen like quarterback right I believe
going to start right the true freshmen or seems like
it's just it's just it's just not He's just not
You're not winning a championship with a true freshman quarterback.
It's just it's just not the way that the sport works.
So that's why I'm I just I can't bag no
(01:34:17):
a nim this season. I And I also think you know,
they're left tackle getting hurt on a TV already, not
not great, not great to start to the season. So
canda get back to the playoff? I think absolutely, you know,
the best team in the country might be Penn State.
I just don't know if I if we trust their
coaching staff and their quarterback right now to get it done.
Speaker 2 (01:34:40):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:34:40):
The one team I think is a again a tat
of a wild Cards Oregon because they're very, very talented.
It's just they're in the same position of like unknown
quarterbacks and if they can get and I know they're
they they're probably a year away from actually winning a championship.
But if Dante Moore is as good as people think
he can be this. They're pretty fascinating.
Speaker 4 (01:34:59):
Absolutely, what do you have on your ducks, Jeff? Like
ten and a half season win?
Speaker 1 (01:35:04):
So I I've told you this before, I'm not I'm
rarely going to bet an over ten and a half
for any team. I think Oregon and Penn State are
going both eleven and one when you look at their
schedules and whatnot. You know, Oregon has lost one game
in three years under Dayland that they should they shouldn't
(01:35:26):
have lost, and that was I took a seventeen point
fourth quarter comeback by Oregon State in year one. So
otherwise they have won every game they should. So look
Penn State. That's the thing about Penn State, guys. You
want to knock James Franklin all you want, Fine, he
hasn't lost a game he shouldn't have lost in like
eight years. Like, they win all the games they should win,
and they often do it when he's a favorite between
(01:35:46):
seven and twenty one points. I think he's nineteen and
one against the spread. You heard that right, a favorite
of seven to twenty four points. I gotta look up
what it was. I think he's nineteen and one against
the spread covering. Yeah, they win every game they're supposed
to win. The problem is they lose a game that
they're not supposed to win right now, right, Yeah, but
this year, look look at their schedule this year, there's
two of those games. Organ's at home. Week five, they
(01:36:09):
get Oregon off a bye and they play a white out.
It's Oregon's first true road game they play, or organ
played Northwestern that doesn't count as a true road game.
They're gonna be a four point favorite ish in that game,
maybe six. They go to Ohio State Wheland the year,
There'll be a four point dog in that game.
Speaker 2 (01:36:25):
Right.
Speaker 1 (01:36:25):
It's like they're going eleven to one in my opinion.
So just a matter of of you know, is it
twelve and oh is it eleven and one? I know
I've said this before. Crackt is not like this, but
I did a parlay where I put Oregon, Ohio State,
Penn State, and Clemson all in a playoff parlay. I
think all I think all four making the playoffs based
on schedule, talent, and just sort of what we know
(01:36:48):
it takes to make the postseason. They have all those
factors that go that help them in their favor.
Speaker 4 (01:36:54):
That's a tough thing with James Franklin at Penn State
against top five teams one in eighteen. You're gonna have
to win multiple games, most likely against top five teams
to win a championship, you know, so I hear, well.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
Yes, yes, to win to win a championship, for like,
that's what my bet on them, to win the whole thing.
I just don't. I just think it's yeah, have to do.
Speaker 4 (01:37:15):
Yeah, I get it real fast. While we have just
like a minute or so. But let's let's get the
WNBA in here right as a playoff start September fourteenth,
so about six weeks ish from now, roughly Liberty they've
got the best odds plus one twenty five, Links at
plus one ninety and then it goes from there, like
(01:37:35):
next in line is the Phoenix Mercury at six to one.
So right now, betting wise, it seems to be a
two horse race Liberty or Links. Anybody you got circled
to win it all over here, WNBA, Jeff.
Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
I think the Liberty are better, you do with with
Jones being healthy to Links this year have had so
many like just like you're like, what do we what
is this? The Liberty? I've had far less even know yesterday.
You can make the argument that that was yesterday. It
was one of those games. One WNBA trend that I
think only maybe you and I care about it. Crack
(01:38:09):
close your ears on the trend here. Thing is that
when a player in the first half of a game
scores above their season average. So give you a last night,
Rakia Jackson averages thirteen points a game. I believe it
is Brian. She had twenty points at the half. We
were texting about this, so twenty points at a half.
Her total at halftime was twenty eight and a half. Okay,
(01:38:33):
she scored four points in second half. That's it. It's crazy.
It happens all the time. Yeah, a play now, not
like us, a player like Sabrina and Nescu who had
seventeen points the first half. She averages like a ton
of points. It shoots great, But a lot of times, man,
it's pretty wild how often someone who's well above their
season average in the first half second half just doesn't
(01:38:54):
score at all. So note, just a note as you
look forward for other moves to make you other just
to make but it would be liberty from how about.
Speaker 5 (01:39:01):
You now, Now that Brian said this, I had no
idea that I never looked.
Speaker 2 (01:39:08):
So I'll tell you right now.
Speaker 5 (01:39:09):
At bet MGM has w n B A, they have
every team regular season wins to make the playoffs. Yes
or no, I didn't know that was offered on w
n b A, every single team. I mean, that's that's
gotta be fun.
Speaker 1 (01:39:26):
There is actually one interesting to make the playoffs team Brian.
The Sparks are trust two ten right, Cameron Brik is
working on again. He has to be cleared. Yeah, that's
a that's a pretty interesting one because they're just sort
of like hanging on right. They won last night.
Speaker 4 (01:39:45):
Good Road're just.
Speaker 1 (01:39:46):
They're just sort of like they're if if you add
you had you had Cameron bring back on that lineup. Sure,
and Foign's out now for the Valkyries. It's a pretty
interesting one because how many teams make it in the
playoffs for the make the entirely right?
Speaker 4 (01:40:01):
Yeah, do we have at least eight? I don't know
how many. I should know that, but I.
Speaker 1 (01:40:05):
Think it's a lot of w NBA playoffs they make it.
They have a lot of teams. Uh, a lot of
teams make the playoffs. In w NBA, it's eight teams,
So they need to win what one, two, three, four, five, six,
I mean you know, I mean they're they're two out
of the playoffs right now.
Speaker 4 (01:40:22):
Yeah, they're right there. It's just that's not a bad
that's not a bad bet to go with the sparks.
Speaker 1 (01:40:28):
If camera brink comes back, that's an interesting, interesting idea there.
Speaker 4 (01:40:32):
I think they're live, no doubt. Yeah, all right, good stuff.
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran Brian know by the way, I would
go with the links for the record to win it all.
I think it's their year. He used code countdown at
bet MGM and receive up to fifteen hundred dollars back
in bonus bets if you don't win your first bet.
(01:40:52):
When you're register with bet MGM, you'll get instant access
to a variety of parlay selection features, live betting options,

first bet. We do have football in four days, that
is right, So we look at two teams and they're
(01:41:13):
top players from a variety of betting angles this season.
We'll get into that coming up. It is Fox Sports
Radios Countdown presented by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports Radios

get the Hall of Fame game on Thursday. I know
(01:41:56):
Jeff's got the old school calendar and like literally xing
out the days between now in the Hall of Fame game.
I know you man, we've been done radio for a
little while. I know you well, we got the Chargers
and the Lions. So what I thought was, if you
look at some of the bets for the season, kind
of interesting. If you look at some player props, I
(01:42:19):
just wanted to compare notes with you guys. So as
far as Jared Goff and Justin Herbert, they have the
exact same number of passing yardage for the season. The
prop bet is said at three eight hundred and fifty
and a half. Jared Goff sailed over that last season.
Herbert barely went over it. You have a feel over
(01:42:40):
or under passing yards for the season for Jared Goff
or Justin Herbert?
Speaker 1 (01:42:48):
Oh jeez, I mean gofw new OC Newish offensive linemen.
Some still some moving around there. Yeah, but weapons are incredible.
But again, I'm taking those overs with big numbers sometimes uncomfortable.
I do like some overs. I don't know if I
like these overs, I would maybe lean to Herbert a
(01:43:10):
little bit. But I will say I think the Chargers
with Marion Hampton are gonna use him a ton and
workhorse him. Yeah, And I just don't know if Herbert
will get as many opportunities. If they're winning in games too,
they'll be run the football to end the game. I
would lead to none of under it for both leads.
If I had a chance, I like a Marion Hampton.
I think that's like eight fifteen and a half eight
(01:43:31):
seventy five and a half over rushing yards this year,
and I have him for Offensive Rookie of the Year
at sixteen to one, So I think he's gonna have
a monster year in a Chargers uniform.
Speaker 4 (01:43:41):
Interesting, Yeah, boy, I'll tell you.
Speaker 2 (01:43:44):
I'll give you guys all of them if we have time.
See if you have time.
Speaker 5 (01:43:47):
I mean I have a dozen player props. But again
I have two overs. I have Mike Evans over receiving
yards for the year nine hundred and fifteen and a half.
McLaren over nine nine sixty five half. He's got to
get it together here. Over though, as far as under,
you guys may not like this one, okay. Caleb Williams
(01:44:08):
under thirty six fifty passing yards for the year, Najie
Harris under six hundred and a half rushing yards, Cooper
Cup under eight hundred and twenty five rushing yards. George again,
Harris under six hundred point five rushing yards.
Speaker 1 (01:44:26):
What do you do for like when the number is
I think I saw Harris this morning, like it's five
twenty five.
Speaker 2 (01:44:32):
You just can oh no, no, I can't play it.
I did that. This was this was that Betham GM Maybe.
Speaker 1 (01:44:36):
Maybe am so I looked this morning on some of
the I didn't see Harris, I.
Speaker 5 (01:44:41):
Think I bet this and literally at the end of
May June. But I'm just giving you guys something. I
there's a sixty dollars fine for giving out lines that
aren't obtainable. Now, I was just going over my list.
I didn't even know what was and wasn't. You know,
a lot of these can come back, though, especially on
key players that people love to bet over. So there's
(01:45:02):
just a few a few of them there, Like like
the Eagles. I bet the Eagles under. Let's look now
what it is the Eagles. I bet there's season wins
under the Super Bowl champs everyone, and you know what,
the sportsbooks didn't even really move after I bet the under.
Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
I think I bet under eleven and.
Speaker 5 (01:45:19):
A half plus. I think I bet plus one ten
or something. And when I bet the Eagles under, I
noticed they didn't really move till it took a while
for them to move. Even another group sent that out also,
So right now, yeah, it's still under eleven and a
half minus twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:45:37):
I mean that's basically what I bet.
Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
I took a little plus money, but I still think
the under eleven and a half. You know minus twenty
is a decent bet.
Speaker 4 (01:45:47):
I mean you like them to win the division or
someone else, crack I.
Speaker 5 (01:45:51):
I mean I probably do, but I just you know,
I could see them. I could see them winning the
division with eleven wins. So you know, it's just it's
just all doing is giving one example of one bet
that I made. I'm not even recommending anyone to make
that bet because I think towards more towards opening week,
(01:46:12):
you might get a better unless it's a major injury,
you know, to a quarterback, running backs, a receiver, someone major,
you'll you'll be able to get that line. Anyway, that
was just a value bet I seen under eleven and
a half. But what I was saying was certain bets
towards the season, they know what they know with anticipation
of which way the public is betting.
Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
So what did you get for the McLaurin number, So
that one's still playable? That's nine to eighty and a half,
right now?
Speaker 5 (01:46:40):
Yeah, that that that is playable yet five and a
half and I laid a dollar fifteen, so maybe you
might lay a dollar ten.
Speaker 1 (01:46:47):
McLaurin is a dollar ten.
Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
Yeah, see what I mean, so that five cents is
worth another dozen yards.
Speaker 1 (01:46:52):
So so and then you said, Mike Evans, obviously if
you go over another thousand yard season, which he's got,
he's a thousand, what do you get for him?
Speaker 2 (01:47:01):
Well, I laid it.
Speaker 5 (01:47:02):
I actually laid a lot on that though. I laid
a dollar thirty five over nine fifty and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:47:07):
So it's a it's a one thousand point five now, but.
Speaker 2 (01:47:11):
One five.
Speaker 5 (01:47:12):
Yeah, definitely definitely a play I put where that? Yeah,
that that that is. I think it's still definitely a play.
I don't bet overs, though I'm not an over guy.
One injury, one out for a couple of weeks, but
so I recommend the unders bet more. But that's particularly
one that we bet over would.
Speaker 2 (01:47:29):
Be messed up.
Speaker 4 (01:47:29):
If Mike Evans got to one thousand yards on the
nose and he extends his streak and.
Speaker 1 (01:47:35):
You right and you love, I'm done, Yeah, I'm done
entire Yeah. I mean, these numbers are move so like
Kayleb Williams is on bet MGM is one hundred yards
under what he was at when you got him. So
you just you just have to wait that hopefully comes back.
I think right that.
Speaker 2 (01:47:48):
Point yeah, I laid a dollar fifteen on that.
Speaker 1 (01:47:52):
Do you play that if it's one hundred yards under
what you played?
Speaker 5 (01:47:56):
You know, because it's not like it's it's eight hundred
to seven hundred, it's thirty six fifty to thirty six
hundred or something. I may, I may, I may look
at that again, but look at it more towards game time,
first game time, opening opening day.
Speaker 1 (01:48:11):
I've written down all these you've given us. I'm waiting
to see if the numbers move around again, because you know,
it's very important to try to get obviously.
Speaker 2 (01:48:17):
You know, And I know this stuff's gonna move.
Speaker 5 (01:48:19):
I'm sending because I'm betting it everywhere, so I try
to give it to you guys in the chat first.
But I know if I'm giving you something in may,
I know what. I know what you guys say, This
crack sick. You gotta tie up money for nine months,
ten months on a player prop.
Speaker 2 (01:48:35):
It's not easy to do.
Speaker 5 (01:48:36):
But that's why you have to find five thousand dollars
of things in California, and you know you have to
find those things and put a right in action. Is
that where you found Jeff right five thousand? I did, Yes, Yeah,
there you go, Brian, you got to start searching over
there Indiana and stuff all these things for this extra money.
Speaker 1 (01:48:53):
I think some extra money, I mean, and then you know,
I spent all dinner there night. I don't even know
if I haven't. That's enough to get me.
Speaker 4 (01:48:59):
Through spent though. Absolutely, we're gonna spend a little money
on Isaac Loewenkron right here at least Fox Sports Radio.
If I'm not a Fox Sports three, he's got the latest.
Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Let's go to I Low.
Speaker 7 (01:49:11):
You might not be spending, but you're going to pay
as long as in addition to all of our other listeners.
But paying is the operative word here, because there's a
lot of money bouncing around the NFL. Just this morning alone.
Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson has signed a four year,
fifty two million dollar extension with thirty million guaranteed at
(01:49:33):
a twelve million dollars signing bonus. Washington Commander's star receiver
Terry McLaurin meanwhile reported to training camp today, ending his
holdout without a contract extension. McLaurin was subsequently placed today
on the physically unable to perform list due to an
ankle injury. But despite all that, Commanders fans gave McLaurin
a rousing welcome today.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
Poor hey, how much talk about him?
Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
Please talk.
Speaker 1 (01:50:00):
Today's business.
Speaker 11 (01:50:00):
But it has nothing to do with them and any
chance I could come out here do what I got
to do in there, But I'm on and show them.
Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
My support and how much I love him.
Speaker 11 (01:50:08):
It's tough, but you know, it's the business right now,
and just trying to take these day by.
Speaker 7 (01:50:13):
At audio courtesy of Nikki Javala of The Washington Post
as well as WJFK Radio. Miami Dolphins safety Minka Fitzpatrick
has agreed to a revised contract, added a sixteen million
dollars signing bonus to his deal as they continue to
negotiate a multi year extension in the NBA, ESPN reported
Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan has signed a multi
(01:50:33):
year contract extension. Baseball, the Yankees today officially placed Aaron
Judge on the ten day injured list with a right
flexer strain, and today, by the way, guys, is also
the induction ceremony for the Baseball Hall of Fame Class
of twenty twenty five in Cooperstown, but due to inclement weather.
The start of that ceremony has now been moved to
(01:50:54):
two point thirty pm Eastern Time this afternoon.
Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
Guys, all yours, thank you. I LO It is Fox

(01:51:19):
A little bit of wide receiver love real quick where again,
going back to the Hall of Fame teams, right, the
game is on Thursday, Lions and Chargers. How about a
couple of wide receivers. There's season long prop bets. I'm
and Ross Saint Brown receiving yards is at ten fifty
and a half. Lad McConkey is at one thousand and
(01:51:40):
a half, so very similar. If you look to last season,
a'men ra went over pretty comfortably, like twelve sixty three.
Lad had a really good rookie season eleven forty nine,
so they both went over. I don't know how you
feel about this. I'm and ross Saint Brown. I think
is a good candidate for the over, very durable. He's
gone over in each the last three seasons. This number
(01:52:02):
ten fifty and you look like amin Ra has battled
through injuries. But if you look at his last three years,
sixteen games sixteen game, seventeen games started, so he might
have some you know, bumps and bruises, but he gets
out there consistently. I loved Lad from last year, but
I don't know if I'm betting a season long prop bet,
Like my heart is in my throat each time he
(01:52:24):
gets tackled, you know, like he's a tough guy, but
he's just undersized. What do you think about this? You
gotta play over or under with Amen Ra or Lad
McConkey with their receiving yards.
Speaker 1 (01:52:35):
So Sam Brown is a machine buddy like he is,
he is just continually having incredible seasons as as a Lion.
I would love it. I don't think they post these
till later. Like any any sort of targets number you
can find for him, He's just a target eater. That'd
(01:52:56):
be really interesting to find for him. I would lean over, honest, Yeah,
with what he's been through as career has been very dependable.
As you mentioned, he plays the injury, which I mean
it's that that's a quality to have. So I would
lean over here if if I if I play anything
on this one, and I would look if you find
any sort of targets wager that feels like a really
good a really good spot to be.
Speaker 5 (01:53:18):
Yeah, I have really no opinion on it. I know
these guys are very good. Like I said, I I'm
surprised me and my team even came up. We usually
have one maybe two overs for the year, and normally
it's it's uh even even later in the season, believe it,
and not making sure they're healthy through training camp and preseason.
(01:53:41):
At this point, no, and I'll tell you looking at
saying those numbers, man, boy, that's a lot of yards.
I know they both passed it last year. Jeez, it
sounds like a lot of yards. Though I would automatically
my brain says lean under, but uh, not enough information
right now at this point for any of opinion.
Speaker 4 (01:54:00):
By the way, while we're talking receivers, I saw this news.
It's unfortunate, but Titans wide receiver Traylon Burks, Yeah, he
broke his collar bone. That was yesterday's practice. He tore
his ACL last season, and I couldn't help but think, right,
I think about the rookie quarterback cam Ward, this would
be one of his wide receivers, but it is not.
(01:54:23):
I don't think it could work out more poorly for
the Titans. Remember they didn't pay Aj Brown, They traded
AJ Brown to the Eagles, and they drafted Traylon Burks
and it just has not worked out. He's been banged
up quite a bit. He has one touchdown catch over
the last three years of his career. That's it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:44):
Cam Ward's passing number is like insanely low, and I think,
I actually think the under is certainly playable for cam Ward.
It is right here. It's actually not that low. It's
thirty two to twenty five and a half. He just
I mean, I guess you could make the case they're
gonna behind a lot of games and he'll he'll can
just rack up the gross, you know, yards the end
(01:55:06):
of the games, which I guess certainly is possible here.
But man, I I just think that they're their offensive line.
There there there wide receivers. I just think cam Ward's
in for a pretty tough season. I do wonder what
cam Wards rushing yards are at. That feels like something
that could be playable. You know, it's not up, it's
not up on MGM, but he could rush for a
(01:55:26):
ton of yards a season just sort of being behind
all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:55:29):
Yeah, yeah, not a bad idea right there. All right,
We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper, Jeff Schwartz, eight
year NFL veteran. I'm Brian No coming up next. We'll

Our producer Patty Sweeka crushing it. We're doing sports talk
off the air during the show. Is I think Patty
and I should have our own podcast, just call it
off the air.
Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
On the air.
Speaker 4 (01:56:26):
I don't know some of the working title technical producer
extraordinary Chris Purfet doing his thing, crushing the updates and
crushing life. That would be Isaac Loewenkron And shout out
to our guy Sager on digital. It's a great job
posting our clips on social media. Appreciate his hard work.
Top of the Hour, Mike Harmon, Dan Beyer in about
(01:56:46):
ten minutes from now, They've got you covered. Keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right, we
got some picks to make. Let's do it, rap it fire. Okay, Brack,
we start with you something you like.
Speaker 5 (01:57:01):
You know what I'm gonna go with a an NFL
future here. Let's go with over on bet MGM. They
have different numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
Here you can use. Let's let's I'm gonna go with
the New York Giants.
Speaker 5 (01:57:11):
Under has not really moved since I've had it. Under
five and a half minus one thirty. I mean, five
and a half sounds so low, but I think the
Giants are just that bad. So under Giants season wins.
Speaker 2 (01:57:23):
Something.
Speaker 5 (01:57:23):
You can get in on that right at bet MGM
under five and a half minus a dollar.
Speaker 1 (01:57:26):
Thirty Already, I am heavily invested in the department crack, so
I'm gonna I'll start away from that on a second time.
If you hit it, you're gonna go do it again.
I also have Giants sports record at plus six underds.
Something to know. I mean, I don't have much from
different from the rest of the show. I like Sobbly
as I mentioned over fourteen and a half for the
(01:57:48):
Mercury Day and if they will ever post a Cardoso
over Brian No, I would love I would love to
play that. So please krip chif you're listening, give it
to me.
Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
Uh huh, yeah, you know. I'm gonna go with I'm
just gonna ride the hot hand. I'm gonna go with
the Blue Jays, hope. The Tigers. Tigers just so offensively challenged.
They're having such a hard time scoring runs. There you're
facing Max Scherzer today, who's he's been okay the last
couple of stars. He's going deeper in games, probably good
(01:58:22):
for about five innings today. But Jack Flaherty's just a
rough spot for him. He has not been good. They've
lost what each of his last seven starts as a team,
and they're not scoring runs on.
Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
Top of that.
Speaker 4 (01:58:35):
I just I'm gonna ride the hot hand.
Speaker 1 (01:58:37):
Kay.
Speaker 4 (01:58:38):
You got the Blue Jays seventeen and four this month,
the Tigers have lost twelve of thirteen on.
Speaker 1 (01:58:44):
The road and sweep a four game series.
Speaker 4 (01:58:46):
Huh Yeah, I think so. I'm gonna take him on
the money line. It's funny plus one hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:58:51):
So that's what I also like the matsus one today. Yeah,
with the night game at the Giants. Yeah, the Giants
are just horrific, Like just in the in the worst one.
They had a game eight days ago where they had
eleven hits, it didn't score a run. Last night they
had nine hits, they scored one run. Now, of course,
(01:59:12):
look they played a ballpark that they would have had
a home run in the ninth in eighty.
Speaker 4 (01:59:15):
But that's what the ballpark.
Speaker 1 (01:59:16):
They playing, right, What are you gonna do? It's what
they playing.
Speaker 2 (01:59:19):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:59:20):
And they have to throw a bullpen game tonight as well.
I just the Giants. I'm just out on them. Anytime
they play at home, they don't score runs. Devers was
atrocious at first base last night, which again is gonna
happen as he transisted up playing some more first base.
But out on the Giants tonight. I like the Mets
to win this game, out right.
Speaker 4 (01:59:37):
I like saying a lot too, you know. And while
we're mentioned in Baseball, one other one is, you know,
the Yankees without Aaron Judge, they've been really struggling. They're
facing Zach Wheeler. Schwarber is on freaking fire right now.
So Philly's minus a dollar thirty five looks pretty enticing
as well. All right, we got practice play of the day.
(01:59:59):
Let's dive into this.
Speaker 3 (02:00:02):
This is the best play of the day.
Speaker 4 (02:00:06):
Man, Okay, crack, what is it for us? Buddy boy?
Speaker 2 (02:00:09):
It's funny.
Speaker 5 (02:00:09):
I was looking at another future of the Bengals under,
but it's moved a little bit too much. I had
under ten and a half wins on them. I laid
a dollar thirty five Bengals under. So that's not the
strongest play because now it's not as a dollar seventy
five play of the day. And let's give you up,
guys a play today. I'm gonna go with Brian Knows
Saint Louis Cardinals, here. I'm grievy on the mound minus
(02:00:32):
a dollar thirty over San Diego. And listen, we're gonna
have some great props. NFL season right around the corner. Preseason,
right around the corner here, as we could say, Thursday.
Speaker 1 (02:00:44):
Now you you.
Speaker 5 (02:00:46):
Degenerates, have a bet on the game on Thursday night,
no matter what.
Speaker 1 (02:00:49):
No, I'm leaning towards the over, but I have not.
I have not made a wage or anything yet. I'm
waiting for the first text message from It took like
three days. Again. A Summerleague play for me at crack.
I hope we get a early early NFL preseason Wade
Joe account is ready, Buddy is.
Speaker 2 (02:01:04):
Summer League was.
Speaker 5 (02:01:05):
Summer League was was really good to us, much better
than we thought. I thought we were like six and one.
At the dinner you told me I was eating one
eight or nine and one.
Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
Yeah, that was a good It was a really Summer
League was a good surprise. You did very Detroit Chargers
Thursday night. Bet mgm.
Speaker 5 (02:01:20):
The only one and a half out there, thirty two
and a half also totally the lowest total in the market.
Bet MGM, look at the over.
Speaker 4 (02:01:28):
I do love the random texts from summer league, from
ukra where you know it might be ten minutes before
the game and you're like Celtics plus four. Sorry I'm
driving right now, but get Boston in there. Good stuff.
Enjoy the day, everybuddy,
