I think football this preseason, guys, has never been better

in like the modern era of like whatever this is
in preseason, guys crack. They seem to care a lot.
These games are playing. These guys are playing hard man,
They're hidden, they're playing to the very end. They're going
for on a fourth down. All of a sudden, now
it feels like it's it's some real football happened in
the preseason.

Yeah, and from the standpoint of uh, you're looking at
it from the playing standpoint. I'm looking at it from
the betting standpoint. But however, so you're saying that every game. Now,
that last game, I still don't even know that. It
was twenty seventh.

feel like this preseason, man, like, I don't know what
it is starters are playing, but I don't think they're

playing that much more than usual. But coaches, man, there's
no field goals anymore under forty yards fourth down, fourth
and four, fourth and five. The lines justtray scored on
fourth and seven from like the twenty five. I mean,
typically was going to be a field goal, I think.
But teams are going for on a fourth down. They're
playing to freaking last whistle of every half of every game.

The Niners Raiders team had like genty was trucking dudes
in the preseason. I mean it was it felt like
some real ball happening in the preseason.

is he aren't you worried? Like, man, this guy could
be banged up. I can't lose him in a preseason
or did you say, no, get back out there, do
your thing?

where just even last year, if the same thing occurred

gotta play. So I get why we're seeing a lot

more of these guys play. But the competitiveness has just
been again. I also think that everyone talks about the
kickoff role. I don't think it's making that big of
a difference. I think what really is mattering to in
these old preseason games just from from my eye and
I looked this up slightly yesterday, but Brian, the backup

quarterbacks are just much better now than they've ever been.
I mean, we're having Jameis Winston is playing the fourth quarter.
He's eighty seven starts at NFL. I think about like
the Chiefs in the Seahawks game, Gartern Minshew and Sam Howell.
Tyler Heineke is playing for the Chargers. Like, these guys
have started a lot of football. They said, Rudolph for

the Steelers. You know, you have these games where I
mean even Teddy Bridgewater played as a backup yesterday. Tyler
Huntley plays a backup yesterday. But these guys have started
to really Actually, oddly enough, he'd made the Pro Bowl
one year. But like we have, we're in a spot now.
I'm not saying that backup quarterbacks are good per se,

but like they're playing in preseason games when the backup
quarterback used to be like a dude that couldn't even
throw a forward pass. Ye.

There are a lot of teams that it's it's like,
you know, reverting back to how the mindset used to be,
where we used to use the preseason to tune up
for Week one, and then it became, well, we'll kind
of just use the first couple of weeks of the season,
like September is the new preseason.

And I don't know what happened, man.

And there are a couple of teams, like say, the
Bengals are notorious slow starters, and their ones are getting
a lot more action, and it just seemed to kind
of ooze its way toward the mindset of other teams
where they're actually using preseason games to tune up for
the regular season instead of using the regular season to
tune up for the regular season. So, and with all
that being said, it's the Chiefs aren't playing Mahomes. They

always play Mahomes. Andy Reid always gets him out there.

bit in this third game. Some times coaches will try
to schedule reps based on home and away games, So like,
for example, you know the Chiefs are at home. They

for the third preseason game. They haven't been at home
this preseason. They were at Arizona and they were at Seattle.
I could see him saying, Hey, we're gonna get you know,
give Mahomes, you know, a drive for the home crowd.
John Fox used to do that for the Panthers fourth
preseason game. Starters would would dress and play a drive
if it was at home, but on the road they

wouldn't play. So I see that being the case, probably
like one drive for Mahomes, probably sans Kelsey. And the
thing about it too is, like I mentioned this a lot,
is you have to have the starting offensive line in
with the starting quarterback, right, so you can't play the

starting quarterback if two of your starting offensive lignmen are
hurt or you don't plan on playing your starting offensive linements.
That's also a factor in this as well. And so yeah,
I mean, look, I've enjoyed it so far. It's been
it's been some good football.

Yeah, Jeff, there was only three games lined at forty
or more this week again, I think wound up being
four games when they by the end of it all,
I was actually surprised. So you're saying all the scoring again,
what do you think week three if these same type

think I sent it to you, Brian. I thought we'd
see it was the overs were fourteen and two in
week one. I thought we'd see a little bit of
a of a course correction yesterday, so I did this, Crack.
I took the thirteen games that were played Friday and yesterday,
put them in a round robin parlay the unders all
together all right, fifty cents fifty cents a round robin.

I did it by force. Okay, it was fifty cents
a wager. It was a seven hundred and fifteen round
robin combinations. Wow, right, it was three hundred and fifty
bucks total was what I wagered on it. I'll just
tell you what it was to win five thousand. That's
what it would worked out to be. Seven hundred and
fifteen comminations. I think I won like seven because the

Yeah, there were a couple of curve balls because that
Broncos game got the scoring started pretty fast.

lot of early scoring. I thought that was gonna soar

It's preseason. That's the funny thing too. I was watching
the Broncos game at night, and a lot of times
we focus on the quarterbacks, right, like, hey, there's like
the Bears Bills game. They're gonna be case Keenum's gonna

get reps, you know what I mean, Like he started
a lot of games, you have a good shot to
go over in the preseason. But the problem is all
this stupid stuff. It could be third and one, and
you know, the left tackle jumps a little bit. They
clearly would have gotten it. But now it's third and six.
They don't convert, so you settle for three, and you
do that a couple of times, and then a guy
fumbles on the way into the ends, you know what

I mean. Like all bets are off in terms of
who else is on the field. It's not just the
quarterback that you've heard of. It's also like the fourth stringer.
You have no idea where he's from or what he's done.
Like that guy can end up screwing your bet up too,

The question I think that I've always had through this
whole situation is how much of the players actually know,
you know, where the Did Michigan tell them, hey, we

this like you know what I mean? Like, I want
to know how much the players were involved, because those

telling them the change to play and they still got

I don't know how it actually affected the games, but

it was illegal the way they do it and the
cover up, right, like Sharon Moore deleting all the text
messages sounds very guilty. Now he was always suspending one
additional game. He's out games this season, right, Well, yeah,
I just don't know what, Brian. They kid the championships away,
Like I don't know what I was supposed to do.

Punishment's happened so so far after anything happens that nothing
will ever suffice for any the actions that they're being
punished for.

That's the thing is, if you're not going to suspend
the program, you're not going to punish the program going forward,

might not have even been on the team when all

don't want to rewrite history, which I'm also a fan

of I think it's dumb to be like, all right,
we're vacating wins. We're going to pretend this championship that
clearly took place, that we all watched, that that didn't
take place and it didn't happen. I think that's dumb too.
So it's like, if you're not going to punish the past,
if you're not going to punish going forward, then why
do this two year investigation? Like what's the whole point

you find some wrongdoing, which they clearly found. So it's
just a colossal waste of time at the end of

they had just anticipated where this was heading, maybe you
