Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Rado, Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
What is going on? Happy Sunday to you.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
This will be a three man weaven and just a
little bit here. Crack will be joining us momentarily, so
it's just a little no in Schwartz at the very
beginning of the show and Jeff, good morning to you.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Ball is back. What did you think of the soft launch?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I like to call it a week zero not exactly
marquee matchups across the board, but hey, football's back.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
These games counted. What did you think of yesterday?

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Oh? I thought it was just US two. We're going
to right to WNBA talk, but we'll think about for later.
I guess I'll tell you what yesterday. I know it
was a small amount of ball, but quintessential college football Saturday. Okay,
so let's talk about this. A big ten game played
in Dublin for some reason in the rain, turnovers, Like

(00:53):
we went from watching prechs the NFL, which is what
it is. But there's a level of play, right that
the NFL provides. And then you have the first game
of the day, just sloppy, ugly, like just a mess
like what college football is, right, and then the final
play of the game, swung money in a huge direction.
I always say, goes for it and a fourth down

(01:16):
they are about to score touchdown, it would have been
over with the total would have gone over. The runner
is down by half a football short of the end zone.
Upon review it, there goes crect call. He was down.
I always say, kneels out. The broadcast crew had a
little bit of trouble figuring out that they were able
to kneel the kneel down. The night ended, collegetable night ended, okay,

(01:36):
so just started started that way. It ended with Hawaii's
quarterback looking like Willis Reid out there can't even freaking run,
can't move running the south. He was jumping on one
foot to the sidelines, leading Hawaii back to a Japanese
born kicker who learned how to kick on YouTube, making

(01:58):
the game when you feel goal for a while in
a win in Wi Only, followed by a game at
FCS Kickoff Classic in Birmingham between Mercer and UC Davis
that got no contested Brian in the middle of the
fourth quarter because of a lightning delay. That's all that

(02:20):
ended a no contest. They put a special game together
between these two top eleven rate teams FCS and no
contest in it. Brian twenty three seventeen. The fourth quarter
just the most college football day of all college football days.
And I'm glad we're back. I'm so glad we're back.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
It's funny, right, because it's it's like a lot of
weeks of college football. There might be a week where
the matchups aren't that great. There isn't anything on the marquee,
nothing sexy like top ten team versus top ten team
or whatever. But then you get this, you get a
massive helping of just random chaos and you're like, wow,

(03:02):
that was something. Huh Like that game, the Iowa State
Kansas State game that you're talking about, where literally it's
twenty four to twenty one, Iowa State has the lead,
they have the ball, it's fourth and three, and they convert,
They get the first down, and they come within a
whisker of scoring a touchdown. The game would have gone over.

(03:24):
The guy is down, I'm talking a couple of inches
away from the goal line, and it just so happens
that they can run the clock out and the underhits unbelievable, right,
It is crazy how close they routinely get this stuff
where at the beginning of the game it's sloppy. There
was a play Iowa State had the ball at the

(03:45):
one yard line. They run a toss in the rain
and it's a fumble and they don't even score anything.
And then that game with no scoring, no offense, no
nothing comes within an eyelash of going over and they
just kneel it out. It's crazy, man, but that's exactly
what happened. We got Crack here with us. He's ready

(04:06):
to join the party. Here, are you ready?

Speaker 2 (04:07):
If yes to hear Crack?

Speaker 4 (04:09):
Hey, hey doing guys.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Good to have you, buddy.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Yeah. I got one of these fighezy comrexes here, so
it's getting sent in next week. I can't have no
problem here. I was thinking, we have a really big
show today and this thing is not gonna work and
people are gonna say, oh, chickened out. And there's something
I don't know right that goes for your head.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
No, no, no, wild think that crack about you, which
is about college football and like yesterday, just the madness
that is college football. And I was I was very
glad Iowa State went for it on fourth down. So
I don't have the numbers in front of me. But
when you are up three near the end of the

(04:51):
game and you can feel able to go up six,
that's not the right decision, right The rest is always
go for it. And the reason why is think about this. Imagine.
I was telling something yesterday about this. I imagine. Actually
it was a buddy who roots for Notre Dame. Brian
I said, imagine, if you were Notre Dame in an
instance and you're down three, would you rather the team

(05:14):
kick a field goal and let your offense try to
come back and store touch on? Would you rather what
would you rather them do? Kick a field goal or
go for it? You take kick a field goal, give
us a chance, give us a chance, right because think
about it. If you go from three, if let's say
you missed the field goal, it's a three point game.
The offense is still going down the field trying to
score touchdown to win the game. They might fall back
and set off for a field goal. At some point,

(05:34):
we're not playing for a field goal. If you're up
six or doing the same thing, they're going to score
a touchdown. The same thing applies, right So and then
also too if they are down three, if they get
to certain spat on the field. They might say, okay,
let's pull it back. Now run the clock out of
kicking field goal, and you go to overtime. So never
go up six. I Always State made the right decision.
And what I love about sports too is like, I

(05:56):
don't know about you, but I thought in that game,
can'dasdate it was better for most to the game, but
then execute it like they got inside the thirty five
four times with no points, and that sports man I
Always State made more plays in the end. They looked tougher.
Rock O Beeck finally found some rhythm there. He lost
his two pass catches from from last season. So I was,
I was very impressed with Iowa State to end that game.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Yeah, you know, guys, yesterday was I guess that that
was like the official opening for me too, for just
sports in general. I was. I was kind of an
amort all day in watching the games and and you know,
I had a lot of action in preseason two wind up,
you know, probably my worst preseason ever, which I actually

(06:40):
I did win. I did win because yesterday I did
really good yesterday and came back week two. But you know,
I expect to win at a higher rate than you know,
fifty five percent for preseason. That's that's supposed to me
my regular uh, you know, that's my goal for regular season.
So but but it was good. We had a lot

(07:00):
of good first hash situations, and yesterday in the preseason
that was a real sloppy one in Dublin, Iron, Ireland.
Yesterday though seven to seven punfest, but like a minute
left in like the third quarter before we started to
get some real fireworks. So I Aoway stayed held on

(07:21):
as we know for the late twenty four to twenty
one victory, which could end up being an important game
in the big twelve standings by the end of the year.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
You never know here, you know, I'm curious what you
think about this crack because I like a lot of
people will complain about the soft launch as I call it,
in week zero where you don't have marquee matchups like coincidentally,
what's funny to me is Iowa State against Kansas State.
That was the first ranked matchup in Week zero since

(07:50):
two thousand and two. Think about that over even have
one year. Yeah, we had had ranked versus ranked right
since T two. That blows my mind. I'm like, we
didn't have that at somewhat's that's what the stat apparently is.
But the point is, we typically don't have marquee matchups
in week zero.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
It drives me crazy.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
I don't know why college football doesn't have at least
one marquee matchup, one big boy matchup right out of
the gate. But that's just me right, you crack where
you're You're not necessarily looking for the marquee matchup. You're
looking for betting value the right. So it might be
even better for you that it's not marquee matchup city
in week zero at the case.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Definitely, the marquee matchups have a lot of eyeballs on them,
which means they're going to have the more you know,
efficient line. I'm going to throw that line around all
year along when I say efficient lines, efficient betting lines.
So I'm looking for the smaller schools typically, I'm looking
for bigger cards to them. I'm looking I'm not looking
for a card where there's six games on it, where

(08:54):
the bookmaker can kind of get the line right on
every single thing, first half, even first quarter. I'm looking
for the like next next Saturday's car for you know,
I should say that I've looked over the menu there, Thursday, Friday, Saturday,
a lot of games next week, so I'll put them
all together as one. I'm looking for like that Saturday really,

(09:14):
but all three days have have lots of matchups with
some smaller schools. I'm looking for a lot of those
FCS schools, a lot of the extra games, not the
Marquy ones, the ones that seem real boring and bored,
but they're the ones that are more beatable then let's say,
you know, I'll even say the Stanford Hawaii like that.
You know that even that that type of a game, it's.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Worth pointing out for those listening like those games. The
numbers don't post until about two hours before kickoff for
the FCS games, so uh, you know you you, I know,
krap has a number in mind about what those games
should be and you just have to wait until Saturday
at ten am sometimes for those numbers to actually pop.
So it makes that market, you know, sometimes, you know,

(09:58):
kind of difficult because if you missed that, if you
missed a number, it happens fast. It feels like preseason football.
Or if you missed a number, that's right, the number
gets blasted immediately off off the open.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Yeah, and it's interesting too, crack. Just to promote the
interview you put together, you know, props to you. Matthew Boyer.
He'll join us in the final hour of the show.
So we're talking eight o'clock, you know, West coast time,
eleven am East coast time. But Matthew was the illegal
book maker, right, and that was the book that Sho

(10:30):
Heeo Tani's interpreter was betting through. And so it's it's
Matthew's story, and you know there's a federal investigation. He's
gonna have to do jail time. He's going to nine yards. Yeah, yeah,
so he'll join us.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
I've known Math, believe it or not. I kind kind
of kept on the reps, but I don't think I
even mentioned that. I don't think I mentioned it to
either one of you guys, even Brian all the time
out to breakfast with me here, Jeff, we talk a lot.
I don't think I've ever even mentioned that. I know,
I've known him over twenty about about twenty years, and
the reason why I've known him is because our casino relationship.

(11:05):
I go, I go. I used to be I used
to really be a guy that would find all these
tournaments and go to like places like Puntakana and Costa
Rica and Panama and all throughout the Atlantis Baha Moar
when they first open, so they would entice people with
these big, big tournaments, and I would go to I
would go to a lot of those tournaments in the

(11:27):
beginning that that was really a good advantage gambling situation
for me, because they had some these casinos get a
little bit greedy when they first open up too. They
you know, they make a deal. Well, they'll give you
like a credit line, and if you go in there
with a cashiers check for us, you know, quote amount,
and they'll they'll give you a really good deal. Well,

(11:48):
they'll they'll give you five thousand dollars for free. They'll
give you a private jet, they'll give you access to
a room, food and beverage. It's called RFB. They'll give
you everything. And I see Matt at a lot of
those tournaments, and I that he was a bookmaker. But
I never played with him or anything, you know, But however,
I knew what he did. I I just thought I
thought he was a pretty, you know, really sharp guy.

(12:10):
Though I thought he was betting. I never really asked
him if he was betting sharp stuff into the book.
He was always in the sports books wherever I was.
And uh, as a matter of fact, he's going to
talk about that today. He's going to talk about a
four million dollar bet he made, uh, you know, on

(12:30):
the super Bowl. I was like, Wow, four million dollars
he bet on the super Bowl? So yeah, really cool? Good?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
So what else are you hid him for me else where? Yeah,
we're going to breakfast. He got all these deep, dark secrets.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
What else?

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I mean, I could have showed him to you, but
I figured if I would have, you know, it was
introduced from the Schwartz, they would have been firing. He
would have been firing like crazy. Gess. I didn't want
to just I was looking out for the family.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
I mean, I guess. I I know, a mobster is
sort of ish, Wow weal on text? I sort of. No,
it's a relationship. I mean, it's kind of an odd
relationship that I know, like a very famous mobster. For
some reason, because I went to school with these kids.
I didn't know who he was when I was a kid.
I knew like twenty years later. But uh yeah, I'm

(13:14):
I'm I love these mob kind of stories that.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
It's funny you say that. Jeff So, I was doing
my podcast about a year ago in our studio here
with John Orlando, my my buddy John, Tony Orlando's son.
We're doing in his studios he has he has Sticky
Paul Studios, and I'm doing our We're doing our show.
I walk out. The show's over, and one of the
biggest names Mob guys, Joey and Merlino. He has his

(13:37):
own podcast now which is very entertaining, very good podcast.
And Joey and Moleino's at the door. He's like, oh,
you bet sports, you got some games from me? I
was like, oh, I said no. I actually said no, Yeah,
I bet. But I'm kind of calm, and I really
don't go crazy about anything, you know. You know, you
don't want to really start giving games to anyone that

(13:57):
was even former mobsters. Joey was real deal, and you
don't want to say yeah, no, no, no, A're just
fooling around. Joe won't worry. By the way, what an
entertainment of all those podcasts. There's a lot of those
out there. Let's let's face what they are. Most of
those are all rats. They're all guys that ratted things out,
and now all of a sudden, when the handcuffs go on,
all of a sudden, now they find God and everything's fine.

(14:20):
They want to have podcasts, you know. So these guys
have podcasts. There's a real famous one there in California,
and the guy makes a million dollars a month. Now
I'm here between is all the different things he does.
And you know, he's got a million plus followers on YouTube.
So these guys, like I said, they find God and

(14:41):
everything's fine. They and all the people that follow him
ninety eight percent don't even care that he was a rat,
that he ruined families, lives and put people away for
hundreds of years. And Joey points out all these guys
that all these rats put people. I'm talking about the
big names too, the giant names out there that you
would think John Gotti's was his underbosses. You know, he's

(15:02):
one of them. Not that we're talking about a mob
show here, but you know, listen, we're just talking in general.
The one thing about the mob guys, they love to gamble,
They love to bet sports and there, and even though
there are a lot of them back then were book makers,
it's a total different thing today though. It's I really
believe that the legal licensed sports books cut into a

(15:24):
lot of their earnings and they find other ways to
make money. That's all I could say.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yeah, real fast, I'll say I was a mobster by
connection right crack where I almost got ice picks.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
I yeah, ice pick.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
That was unbelievable. You know that that was not staged
or anything. We go into one of the oldest restaurants
in Las Vegas, uh, the Golden Steer, and for some reason,
the GM decides to come over. We were with Kenny Maine,
maybe the ESPN Kenny Maine was there, so that's why
he kept on coming over. And he came over and
he said, you know where you're sitting, pointing to Brian,
A guy got ice picked in that seat. I mean

(15:57):
it was unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
Wow, that was that was wild for sure.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
No, yeah, the great nickname man, get that embroidered on
my underwear. You know, we've got Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper,
Jeff Schwartz, eight year NFL veteran.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
I'm Brian.

has a team that betters little mattered so much. That
would be the Cleveland Browns. I love all of the
focus on what their quarterback depth chart is going to
look like. Now we know the Browns are irrelevant this year.

(18:12):
They're gonna lose a ton of games, but man, you
talk about front page news what their QB depth chart
is going to look like. We know that Joe Flacco
is QB one, He's the Week one starter. And then yesterday,
the final preseason game for the Browns, Shaduor Sanders.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Got some action five sacks, five sacks for forty one yards.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
He suffers from what I call the Caleb Williams disease,
which is the Bears quarterback. They both take a day
and a half to get rid of the football.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
You can't hold the football that long in the NFL
and make it. I don't have a problem. You try
to hit a home run here or there, but you
can't do that routinely.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Man.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
You got to get rid of the ball.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
And both those guys have to work on that to
get up to speed in the NFL. But what do
you think do you think that you're gonna see a
QB the depth chart that has four guys right like
Shadur Dylan Gabriel going to be there, Kenny Pickett, of course,
Joe Flacco. You think it makes sense to keep all
four quarterbacks on the week one roster.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
No, it's silly to keep both quarterbacks. It's four. It's dumb.
But the Browns sometimes do dumb things because they're not
good organization. I I think they keep three. I've said
all along and I'm not moving off this until I
see otherwise right, that Flacco is the starter, and that

(19:32):
the competition between him and Kenny Pickett the loser gets cut.
It's released. Yeah, and then there's a competition, you know,
in the end for the backup between Gabriel and Sanders. However,
the one caveat I will say is that if they
both think that Sanders and gaber are not ready for this,
which is certainly possible, they might keep it. But haven't

(19:52):
even practiced really, like, he's not even I don't really
know how you keep him without in practicing. Well. I
find so interesting about all of this. It's not the
Joe Facco Part's obviously the Sanators Gabriel thing. And the Internet. Man,
how the Internet reacts to Sanders and the pandering to
the Sanders family sometimes is out of control. Man, this

(20:14):
is not comfortable anymore. You're the National Football League. There's
no it's can you help us win or not? That
is a national football league. No one's in the sport
because they're trying to make friends with someone and be nice.
They're in the sport to win football games. That's how
you keep your job. It's winning football games. And there's

(20:35):
no alternative motive to the Sanders reps yesterday or the
way he played or the play calling. No, they're trying
to win the game, and they're working on different things
the preseason, right, so you know they might have a
different game plan honestly for Gabriel and Sanders. Here's what
here's what Gabriel can do. Let's let's work on this.
Here's what Sanders can do. Let's work on that. Here's

(20:57):
what they can't do. So let's call some of those
places to test them a little bit. You know, I
saw that, you know, Sanders did look a little bit upset.
He wasn't, you know, on that funnel drive of the game.
But like so what I mean, that's okay, like you're
on the final driver of the game. Okay, that you
know they put in someone else you weren't playing very well.
It's it's nothing more than that. And it's a preseason.

(21:18):
God to keep ridering, it's a preseason like it doesn't.
The evaluation is not just one single game or one
single drive. It's the whole picture. It's practice, it's it's
film room, it's it's it's on the board, it's high
performing games. How yours a teammates that all matters and
one are the drives of the preseason. Any game crack.
It's not as important as people want to want it
to be.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
Nobody. Uh, there's no one in football that people haven't
asked me more about than Sanders. Uh. People don't come
up to me every day in the casino with all
different kinds of questions and scenarios. The Cleveland connection to
Las Vegas. There's a lot of people here that are
from Ohio in general. I always say on Chicago, but

(22:00):
just in general of that area of the country, big
football country. By the way, my dad was from southeastern
Ohio over by Athens below Athens, little country town on
the Ohio River, and those literally every Friday Saturday night
and Friday Saturday was just everything was based around those
high school football games. And I've had a lot of

(22:22):
fun there myself. I used to love going to Ohio
and the summers with my grandparents. But I just know
that people you know ild say, I just know I
know football. I know Ohio football. And based on all
those times I look at these teams, I follow a
couple of the teams a little more closely. One of

(22:43):
my best friends is a giant Cleveland, Cleveland Browns fan,
so I kind of And by the way, it's a she.
She's tough too. She just retired, retired detective. She's one
of my good friends and my wife and I both
our friends, and she just hits me all the time
with what's going to happen here that we have we

(23:05):
should have a quarterback or any named, and who's going
to be the starter. This is like a week ago,
but before this preseason game we kind of thought Sanders.
We knew he probably wasn't gonna be the starter, of course.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
But they very announced Flacko.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
I know they announced this, but I got to tell
you though, we were pretty high on him. He looked
really good the first game. But yesterday, I don't know,
I didn't watch the whole game, but I watched a
lot of highlights of it. He just uh the ball too.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
He looked like a rookie who's experienced his first time
gaining pressure in the way he was the first two games.
He wasn't getting pressure like this. And what happens a
lot of times is you just revert back to what
you know, and what he knows is sort of the
run around, make a play. But you know what that
we've talked about when it comes to him is that
he's not a great athlete compared to the rest of

(23:55):
his peers, and he can't get away with running backwards
like that. He like, he just can't because he's not
he's not good enough to make that happen. And so
yesterday it was a learning experience for him and I
have Look again, I keep repeating myself, I feel like
a lot when it comes to stuff like it's the preseason, man,
Like this is what the preseason is for. If we

(24:15):
don't take it so seriously on the internet, it wouldn't
be such a big deal. I mean, he can he
looked like, to Brian's point, you look like he did
in college. He needs to improve on this. It does
It makes you a question, like we don't see practice every day, right,
like this has been happening practice? Probably, I said, probably, yes,
And it might be why doing Gabriel is ahead of
him and the deep start for now. Look, I think

(24:37):
Gabriel is not not gonna be a better pro than him,
but I think Gabriel will provide a level of comfort
of just doing what's what he's told to do every
play and that's a valuable backup. Well, I still think
Sanders in general has a higher ceiling than Gabriel, Like
he's a better player per se than Gabriel eventually, but

(24:58):
Gabriel provides a level of comfort that I think appeals
to coaches right now in Cleveland. And that's why I
think Gabriel end up being I change my mind this.
I think Gabrie ended up being number two in the
depth chart when it gets released for week one.

Speaker 4 (25:12):
By the way, you think they keep those three that's
the three order.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Yeah, I think they keep I think they keep Flaco Gabriels.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Right, that's the only question whether they keep Picket and
it's four. But if they keep three, Picket's going to
be the odd man out. Yeah, yeah, right, But you
mentioned Jeff a level of comfort. Sometimes this stuff just
writes itself, you know, talking about the ultimate level of comfort.
That would be Isaac loehen Kron with us this morning
with the latest. I love what is going on, Buddy.

Speaker 7 (25:39):
Well, unfortunately, Brian, we have controversy and it involves you
on social media. Good morning, Good morning by the way, Brian, guys,
uh wow, Roxanne posting ah seeing at the Note show
and his lovely lady was so great. Even though he
hates Tool, we can still be friends.

Speaker 8 (25:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
So it was the Ben Maller Meet and greet Vegas.
You know, Big Ben does a weekday overnight show here
for the network, and it was cool because I fill
in for Big Ben all the time.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
So my girl and I we were there and Roxanne
she's listening to Fox Sports Radio. Shout out to her
for a long long time, and apparely she's a big
fan of the band Tool.

Speaker 4 (26:19):
I am not.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I go the opposite way, as we're on opposite ends
of the spectrum.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
I talk trash. She loves them, but you know whatever,
we put that to the side and we're still friends.

Speaker 7 (26:29):
I wasn't familiar with the band Tool. What genre are they?

Speaker 3 (26:33):
It's rock and just take it from me, much better
to avoid them, know much much much better in life
to avoid them.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Tools.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
Well, that's the thing. It just doesn't seem like the
most advantageous name perhaps so in this case, with all
due respect to Roxanne, I will defer to you Brian
for your opinion on the rock band known as Tool. Well,
speaking of Las Vegas Raiders backup quarterback Aiden O'Connell brook
his right wrist and last night's preseason lost to Arizona.

Speaker 4 (27:01):
He's going to miss six to eight weeks.

Speaker 7 (27:02):
Rookie six round pick Cam Miller presently next on the
depth chart, presently the key word behind starter Gino Smith. Elsewhere.
Saturday night, the San Francisco forty nine Ers defeated the
Los Angeles Chargers thirty to twenty three. Chargers committed four turnovers,
leading to twenty seven San Francisco points. Dolphins over the
Jaguars fourteen to six. Jacksonville plays kicker Cam Little, who

(27:25):
kicked a seventy yard field goal, of course, in the
preseason opener at Pittsburgh. He delivered a little chip shot
last night, a fifty nine yard field goal for Jacksonville.
In Major League Baseball, on Saturday night, the San Diego
Padres defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers five to one, as
four Padre pitchers combined on a two hitter, so San
Diego takes over first place in the National League West

(27:46):
from the Dodgers through taking the first two games of
their series. The Dodgers have combined for just five hits
in those two games. Kyle Tucker of the Cubs two
home runs five RBI and their twelve to one win
over the Angels at Anaheim, Cubs got a grand Slam
from Rehese Maguire, they won seven of nine, and the
New York match hit six home runs and a nine to
two triumph at Atlanta, including two apiece by Jeff McNeil

(28:08):
and Mark Ventos. Guys, back to you.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
Thank you Ilo.

Speaker 3 (28:11):

(28:34):
pop up at the top of your screen. Yeah yeah,
good stuff from ilow right there. How about this another
QB showdown if you will. I don't know how to
characterize this, but the Saints. The Saints are the last
team to name a starting quarterback and it was the
last preseason game you got a taste of Spencer Rattler,

(28:55):
got a little bit of extended time from Tyler Shuck
and Man, the first thing I'll say is this.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
You know, I was at the Ben.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Mallard meet and greet, so I didn't get to see
the game, and I just happened to glance at the stats,
and I saw that Tyler Shuck had the better stat line,
and then I later saw the highlights and Shuck fumbled.
It was like a Shador Sanders type place holding onto
the ball too long, gets hit.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
Fumbles turnover.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
And it's funny because one it's not in the stats
the way all the other stuff is. If there was
an interception, it would stand out like a sore thumb.
But fumbles a lot of times fumbles are way worse
than interceptions based on the field position. You throw the
ball thirty yards down field, it's picked, the guy gets
tackled right there, returns at five yards. It's much different

(29:44):
than fumbling in the backfield, and they pick, they might
scoop it and run for a little while. Fumbles are
routinely way worse than interceptions. But we kind of just
shrug our shoulders when it comes to quarterback fumbles. We
should never do that. But with all that being said,
how do you handicap this thing. If you had to
bet on who's gonna be QB one for the Saints,
I know you roll your eyes and who cares?

Speaker 2 (30:05):
What is it better?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
You gotta bet on what is it gonna be? Rattler
or Tyler Shuck in Week one? Getting to start?

Speaker 4 (30:13):
Uh ah, going to the wire neck and neck huh.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah, I guess it would probably be shucked because he
was drafted by this current general manager, head coach. I
don't feel great about that. You know that decision essentially,
I don't know why. You know who's been with it.
I will be honest with you. I have not watched
much of this competition. Uh Cardinals. I will imagine Arizona

(30:43):
will be a favorite uh for for Survivor Week one here?

Speaker 4 (30:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:48):
At New Orleans, I I don't know, man. I think
New Orleans is in for a very very tough season.
It's not a super talented roster with bad quarterbacks and
killing Moore. I think Helmore be good, but just it
just feels like they're just in a it's not gonna
be great for them this year.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Put it like that, Yeah, yeah, I mean I was
actually thinking maybe Rattler, but who knows? Like you said
they got this guy draft and this is the kind
of quarterback compans petition that really isn't a good one.
I mean, you'll definitely see both of these quarterbacks spying
center this season for the Sings. Oh yeah, like like
like you said, though, I think they're a big trouble.

(31:28):
This was the only one of the futures that I
bet back in May, maybe even April that that is wrong.
We bet under on lots of teams over on a
couple of teams. This was one of them, and at
the time it looked like a good bet, but this
was clearly rolling up. I mean, this looks like if

(31:49):
they win five games, it's a good season. It looks
that's what it looks like. Now, anything can happen, but
that's that's I think that's what they're They're like five
and a half under is the line too? So on
the regular season wins, I don't know. I think this
is gonna be the year. You guys are Are you
guys old enough for the as? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (32:08):
I think, oh yeah, but I mean I am I
guess I don't.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Know, ye with the fans and yeah, so we'll see
what happens.

Speaker 3 (32:16):
You're right, though, We're gonna see some paper bags throughout
the years, throughout the season, right, you know, to the
Saints games.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
It's gonna be a rough season, man, it is.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
I do wonder, you know, did the Saints did they
look at the Indianapolis Colts and say the Colts kind
of rushed Anthony Richardson out there and sort of contributed
to him being ruined?

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Right?

Speaker 3 (32:37):
I wonder if the Saints, honestly, if they look at
the Colts and like, man, do we throw Tyler Shuck
out there immediately? I wonder if that enters into their
their whole breakdown of who's going to get the start
initially here? But you guys are right, they're both gonna
get out there because no one's like locking that position down.
It's just you know, it's a shrug your shoulders East.

(33:00):
We don't have a great option at this point with
either of these guys.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
But that's what it thinks right now.

Speaker 4 (33:05):
You know, Brian, have you been around like this weekend
the casinos to uh to watch any of these games
or not really watching them from home the last three days?

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Yeah, it was more so from home when I'm watching.
I was out yesterday with the meet and greet. They
had a couple of the games on in the bars.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
I don't know what day it was, but the Colts
played a couple I think it might have been the
first day, like two days ago. The Colts won really big. Yeah,
this is this is gonna be for actually going back
to what Jeff. There are forty minutes and Jeff mentioned
something twice that's very very very important. I'm going to
try to mention it later in the show too. This

(33:43):
is so important. I'm in a sports book.

Speaker 8 (33:45):
Just what.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
I was in a sportsbook to meet a group of guys.
One of the guys said.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I knew the Colts were going to be good this year.
Do you see what?

Speaker 4 (33:54):
I was like, Oh my god, what did they score? Well?
They score like forty points. One of the guys was like,
I knew the Cults were going to be good this year,
and and I was like, oh no, to myself. I
really didn't know him too well, but I wanted to
tell him, kid, this is preseason. I don't even like, like,

(34:15):
you're not even watching real stuff. And and to hear
Jeff say it twice this is preseason. I just I
just remember with this hearing this kid say this and
it brought it right back. And he was like, I
knew it. I knew it. You know, this is gonna
They're gonna have a year. They're gonna have a big
year this year for ers. And you know, you know
he he died and his his daughters or and he's

(34:38):
telling the other guys this. I didn't know him that well.
I just shook my head. Yeah, oh good, all right, buddy,
you know, Like, but I mean, people go by week
three of preseason, they really do. It's unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
Think about this. The Bears beat the Bills like thirty
eight nothing, yeah last week okay, right, and look, I
know your buddies with fest he got on the internet
and said, I'm taking the Bears over now. I like
the way they played. They look good. And I was
like what. And then they got their doors blown off

(35:11):
by the Chief starters the other night like it wasn't
even and I think the Bears were playing some start
like a lot of stars were playing. And by the way,
there are things take away from from there, things take
away from the preseason. Some things. One of them is
if the Chief decide this is going to be their
offense this season, which is throw the ball down the field. Yeah,
watch out NFL, because what the Chiefs put on film

(35:32):
against the against the Bears in this in this week,
like that is different offense. They've run so much different offense.
If that's what they're going to do this season, watch out.
But nonetheless I made the tweet like are we still
think saying both things again about the Bears now? Like
why I know the Bears came back and won this
scored nineteen to fourth quarter points, but like, don't don't

(35:54):
make that glorations about the preseason.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
I see that, yeah, he said, he said to me.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
Like I like the Bears first couple of drives. They
it's just confirmation by it. Bro, you want to take
the over anyways, and you see.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
You guys probably know. The first bet of the season
I made was three maybe four months ago was the
Vikings on Week one versus the Bears. It took like
one and for some reason, the MGM had the one
and a half just laying there for a week after
everyone else made the game pick. And it's funny now
you say that. Fez actually text me and said, the

(36:28):
Bears plus one at the time they were plus one
is a really good play. Week one I Meanwhile, I
didn't even have the heart to tell him. I'm already
on Minnesota in that game, so I know he is
on the Bears week one, so it's kind of interesting.
All right.

Speaker 3 (36:42):

Okay, the platter, we each have one selection for you.
We pull it together for a greater payout.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Crack. We'll start with you with something you like.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Okay, So let's end this baseball season. I can't wait
for football to be here. I actually thought about giving
out a Thursday a ball under dog. But let's let's
stick to what's in the moment here. Going to the
American League Seattle. Since it's in the parlay platter, I
have no problem laying some juice. I usually wouldn't lay
this kind of number one sixty five. Seattle is my

(38:14):
portion over the athletics. Let's go Seattle.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Okay, so so many, so many choices today, and uh,
the Minnesota Lynks don't have a team total up yet
Brian for today.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Yeah, there you go. I like what you're thinking.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
He is back. Other places have eighty nine and a half.
I can't put in there. It's not up yet. That's
what I guess it'll be at when it's eventually up.
I can't do that. I'd love to take the Aces
tomorrow against the sky in my in my thing. That's
also not available quite yet. So we're gonna do. I
have two options. You let me know, guys, what we

(38:55):
should do here. Schemes over strikeouts, they play the Rockies today,
it's it's seven and a half. Or there's not even
a listed picture for the Brewers yet. But I don't
take the Brewers money line gets a geinst the Giants.
What do you think is a better way? They don't
have a listed pitcher. But I think so little of

(39:17):
my Giants, who won seven one yesterday. I'm glad I
will I will gladly take the Brewers here minus one
five against the Giants.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
It's like you're playing hold them and you didn't even
look at your your cards basically, and you're still it.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Yeah, Giants won yesterday. They won their tenth game since
the All Star Break, reging three and a half runs
a game. They won seven one yesterday gets against Kantana, No,
no praulta but yesterday, So what do you think how
about skiing strikeout? Let's go, scheme's over seven a half, strikeouts.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
Over seven and a half.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
All right, I'll get that. I'll get that going here
for the official payout.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
For my portion, I'll look for the I'll look at
the w n B A.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
I've got my eye on the mystics. So they're plus
eight and a half. That's a lot of points in
the WNBA. I know they've been struggling where they're playing
a back to back and you just had the Storm
had a blowout wine, you know, but they've they've been
bad too. The Storm have not been killing it lately.
I think just for a Seattle Storm game, eight and

(40:18):
a half is a lot to work with. You still
have Guria fin on the glass, you had a nice
double double yesterday, and Citron doing her thing. I think
they keep it within eight. I don't think it's a
bad play. I'll go with that. As far as this
strikeout schemes, Okay, over seven and a half strikeout, so
you part lay these three picks together plus four thirty nine,

(40:38):
it's not bad.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Cracks laugh when I said no, picture, that was awesome.

Speaker 3 (40:49):
Coming up next, It was the reddest of red flags
this weekend.

Speaker 2 (40:53):
We'll tell you about that. Oh what is going on?
Happy Sunday to you. It was the.

Speaker 3 (41:01):
Reddest of red flags this weekend. We'll get to that
here just a couple of seconds. Hey, be sure to

Fox Sports Radio on YouTube. Okay, Jeff, you mentioned this
in Passing, but the reddest of the red flags this
weekend the Bear's offense.

Speaker 2 (41:36):
Okay, like a lot of people were giddy.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
They looked good against the Bills backups, right, but you
have to take that into account, like who's on the field,
who are hot knife through butter? That's great, but is
it against all backups?

Speaker 4 (41:49):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (41:50):
You take that into account, right, one's versus one's matters,
And what you saw between the Bears and the Chiefs
when it was one's versus the Bears first team offense,
they did nothing against the Chiefs first team defense. Then
you might have seen the highlights where Caleb Williams leads

(42:10):
a touchdown drive right before halftime against Chiefs backups.

Speaker 2 (42:13):
Who cares? The highlights are so misleading?

Speaker 3 (42:17):
Sometimes the final result, the score at the end is
so misleading. It's not backups versus backups or third string
versus third string. None of that matters at all related
to the regular season. What matters is as starters versus starters,
and man, that was a red flag for the Bears offense.
They could do nothing against the Chiefs starting defense, and

(42:39):
that's what truly matters.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Yeah. Yeah, with the caveat that is the preseason, of course,
you know that game was a really an interesting look
into sort of where those those two teams are at essentially.
I mean, yeah, you have like a Chiefs team that's
coming off a Super Bowl loss. They looked fantastic. I
mean they looked you would think of the team like
that wouldn't care about the preseason. But very clearly it

(43:03):
was a very heavily game plan game for them, Like
they put a lot of effort into the game plan,
and you know, they wanted to get Mahomes down the
field throwing the football, which he did really well. He
played three drives like it was a legitimate like game plan.
Now he can make the argument the Bears didn't game
plan terribly much. I think it's it's certainly fair to
make that argument, but it was one verse once to

(43:25):
your point, and one team was clearly you know, taking
it more seriously or just better, and that was the Chiefs.
No surprise. My takeaway wasn't really about the Bears. Probably
was about Kansas City. Man. Yeah, if that's what their
offense is going to be this year, kind of back
to what it was with Tyreek Hill, which is pushing
them all down the field. That Chiefs minus one twenty
wager I got for the vision looks very very good

(43:47):
right now?

Speaker 4 (43:47):
Yeah, yeah, did we I'm trying to think, Jeff, did
I also send you Chiefs first quarter or did you
have that.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
Guy I played the chief Whenever I see Mahomes starting
in the prison, play the Chiefs first quarter, because I
just know that they.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Sent you the Chiefs first half early in the week.
But then the chis Chiefs for first quarter. I think
you said you had it already. I think maybe you
had it already, But I mean it's easy to say
looking back at it now, but obviously that's off of
you know, Mahomes going to play. It was out there
with the Beat reporters and in socials, especially the last
couple of hours before the game, so that that was

(44:23):
a good That was a good game for like I
said this weekend, billed me out for the preseason to
not make it a losing preseason for the first one ever.
So I had a real real good guy, especially as
a good good games yesterday. The Bears really don't have
any excuses to make this a season. Williams has experience

(44:43):
now and you know he isn't a rookie. He still
has great targets and wide receivers, tight end, and they
ramped up his offensive line. He's got this new offensive
minded coach Ben Johnson from from the Lions, so they
can't blame the coaching staff anymore this season. You know
this is gonna be on the number one pick Williams

(45:04):
right now. And if he doesn't show some signs of
being a winning NFL quarterback this season, maybe I don't know.
I don't want to use the word bust, but for
lack of a better word, maybe he's a bust. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (45:14):
Well yeah, I mean, hey, listen, he's he's got to
get rid of the football a lot quicker. I think
Ben Johnson will help that out. I think that like
compared to last season, I think the arrow is pointed
up for the Bears. I don't make it sound like
it's completely doom and bloom, but like from from the
Bills preseason game where it's just you mentioned in our
guy Fez and some people are really giddy, like wow,

(45:37):
look at this Bears offense and Ben Johnson whoa? And
then it starters versus starters against the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
I'm telling you, they couldn't do anything.

Speaker 3 (45:47):
It wasn't like, all right, we were on schedule, it's
third and three. We just didn't convert, you know, just
shrug your shoulders. Sometimes that happens. They weren't even close.
It wasn't even a fair fight against the Chiefs defense.
So that is absolutely a red flag. They have a
tough schedule, man. You look at what the Bears have
in front of them. Their division is really tough. You

(46:07):
look at the two other divisions that they face this year.
Is it not a cake schedule at all? And you
start looking at their season win total, it's eight.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
And a half. How are you getting the nine wins
when you're facing a lot.

Speaker 4 (46:20):
Of people have liked that over Brian this past couple
of weeks. I'm on the under as you guys know,
I was on Bears not to make playoffs. But I'm
here and around town again. The number moved up a
little bit. A lot of over money coming down this
Bear team.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
You're right, and there's a lot of love. But the
NFC North is tough. You got six games there against
your divisional teams. You play the NFC East top to bottom,
that's not an easy division. With the Eagles, Commanders, Cowboys
are you know, I think they're going to be feisty.
AFC North top to bottom, that's another tougher division. Ravens, Bengals, Steelers.

(46:56):
You can find much easier divisions. And then finally, their
last play schedule. You think, hey, we're playing a last
play schedule for the Niners. Yeah, they're three last place games.
You do get the Saints at home, that's the good news.
But you're at the Raiders at the Niners on a
Sunday night. That to me is not the easiest cake
walk of a last play schedule either. I got them
under eight and a half wins, man, I just don't

(47:18):
see it.

Speaker 4 (47:19):
Eight and a half MGM eight and a half under
a dollar forty. I go to that alternative line. Boy,
it looks so good. I just can't. I hate laying
two fifty. Can the Bears really win ten games this season?
Are they going to be ten and seven? Under nine
and a half minus two fifty looks so good?

Speaker 1 (47:35):
The other way, what about under seven and a half?

Speaker 4 (47:37):
Now you can go under seven and a half. Take
a dollar forty that one game is I don't know
if it's worth that. I may go, that's eighty cent difference.
It's that is the number, by the way, for a
regular season win around the numbers, eighty cent, so it's
priced right. I'd be tempted to, Like I said, I
don't know if the Bears could be ten and seven,

(47:58):
I may have to lay a little bit here. I
did to go under eight and a half a day,
I had a dollar ten and I did go Bears
no playoffs. But I'll tell you in the sharp world here,
let's look, I'll all right, let's go back to him.
I won't mention him again after this. My manfes he
likes a little bit of love for the Bears. But
I couldn't believe what he said a couple of days ago.

(48:20):
He says the Giants win total is way too low.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
I was like, oh, Yeah, there's this like push in
the community for the Giants this last week. I don't
know why again, like this feels like like people are
just hoping and wishing because they I don't I don't
know what about the Giants has changed. They're still not good.

(48:46):
I don't what what what is? What? What? What has
changed about them in the last they played prets and games? Yes, okay,
I mean everyone plays priests and games. So I don't
get why you're again You're your prior should not change
very much off preseason, and so I.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
Number at MGM has moved forty cents to the over
from where I bet it, so it's went over the
over money coming in. Let's just call them six and
a half season wins. Now, that's that's the number for
the Giants. It was five and a half under four.
I'm sorry it moved sixty cents. It was five and
a half under forty. Now it's five and a half

(49:23):
over twenty. Let's use the alternate six and a half
under sixty five. And I still like I still like
the under, but a lot of over money has come in.
This is not gonna be one of my best bets,
but it is Giants money has come in on the over.
You know, it's really funny. All my teams, all these

(49:44):
futures I bet under under under, somebody's got to win. Yeah,
you got eight eight, I got like eight teams. I
got like under on all of them, Like who's gonna win? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (49:54):
So you do love the season long unders, that is Yeah,
that is a staple of yours, no doubt.

Speaker 2 (50:00):
By the way, are.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
You guys just over what I call America's soap opera,
which is the Dallas Cowboys?

Speaker 8 (50:07):
Right?

Speaker 3 (50:08):
I picture you, Jeff where you know the latest is
Micah Parsons was you know, taking a cat nap basically
on a training table during the preseason game and he
has to come out. I would never disrespect the people
that are out there fighting for their lives. And this
is the latest chapter of the ongoing soap opera. I
just picture you especially, just like what are we doing?

(50:30):
This is the dumbest thing ever?

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Is that where you're at? Have you reached your breaking point?

Speaker 1 (50:34):
I just stopped paying attention. I why why I pay
attention to this? To this? I still did start watching
the documentary on Netflix, though, which I think looks bad. Yes,
which is pretty good so far. Again, it's just it's
just so unnecessary. Like I don't really understand the point
what the Cowboys are doing. What are you trying to
do here? Do you want Parsons on your team or not?

(50:55):
If you want him on your team, pay him and
let him play. If not, trade him, like may give
a everyone involved? What are you doing? What's the purpose
of this? That's what I don't understand, because the purpose
is to make the best team possible. It's funny watching
the doc. One thing that struck me is they had
all the best players, like the often wins championships, Troy Aikman,

(51:17):
Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, the entire offensive line. I'm at
the point where they where they got Charles Haley and
they have Dion and they they're the best players in
the NFL. The Cowboys now don't have the best players.
And then you have one that wants to be there.
Oh yeah, I do is just pay him what he's
worth and they.

Speaker 4 (51:36):
Want to do it. Yeah, you know Parsons and the
Dallas front office. Uh, keep playing these back and forth games.
Is he really hurt or just playing it up until
he against the contract?

Speaker 1 (51:48):
This contract?

Speaker 4 (51:49):
Yeah, I don't know who really is to blame here
the player of the Cowboys organization, but Cowboys for you. Yeah,
they better figure it out soon because the Cowboys need
arsons on the field at one hundred percent in order
to have any chance of being a playoff team this year.
This is one of the rare years. I didn't bet
under on the Cowboys only because their season wins went

(52:10):
way down so previous year, like last year, I bet
under ten and a half, I laid like a dollar ten. Yeah,
it's a total different year this year. It's like I
don't have in front of me but eight and a half.
I like to always quote the MGM lines seven and
a half? Did it go down to seven and a half? Wow?

Speaker 2 (52:25):
Oh yeah wow?

Speaker 4 (52:26):
Yeah here I got it right here. All right, So
seven and a half?

Speaker 1 (52:30):
You like the Cowboys over?

Speaker 4 (52:32):
I cannot believe seven and a half over a dollar
thirty five? Wow? I mean the Cowboys aren't going to
be an eight and nine team Jesus right.

Speaker 2 (52:40):
Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker 3 (52:42):
Man, Like dak only played eight games last season and
they won what seven?

Speaker 1 (52:47):
They won a lot of games with doc plays, man.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
They do, they absolutely do.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
Yeah, It's like you can still be below five hundred
and cash the over. Typically you're getting attacks the other way.
You know, a lot of people are flocking toward Betty
the over on the Cowboys, and it's the opposite. You're
getting the opposite tax by the way, real fast to
put a bow on this, Remember when your guy Dan Lanning,
the Oregon head coach, Jeff, remember he was talking about Colorado. Yes,

(53:13):
this doesn't apply to Colorado as much as it applies
to the Dallas Cowboys. Now, with the whole off season
and off seasons that we've seen time and time again,
this applies to the Cowboys better than anybody. Here's Dan
Lanning right, Like, is that not the Cowboys that they
are absolutely fighting for clicks?

Speaker 2 (53:31):
This whole thing is obnoxious.

Speaker 3 (53:33):
Jerry Jones, I don't know he's playing this game of
it ain't my fault, you know.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
But Jerry Jones admits that that's what they're doing, which
is he right?

Speaker 2 (53:41):
He openly admits It's like he openly.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
Admits that he wants chaos, which again is like not
how you win national football. You don't win with chaos.
And so for him to admit that to me just
feels again another red flag to like, what do we
do Why would you? This is not no what are
we doing here? Why are we emitting this?

Speaker 2 (53:58):
It's crazy, man, no doubt about it.

(55:08):
Matthew Boyer, he ran an a legal sports book in LA.
That was where Sho Heeo Tani's interpreter, that's where he
was betting. And you know, Fed swooped in.

Speaker 4 (55:21):
Our guy.

Speaker 3 (55:21):
Matthew's gonna have to do some jail time. So it's
a crazy story. Krack knows the guy pretty well. And
so we're going to talk to Matthew Boyer at the
top and next hour, So looking forward to that, you know,
and Crack's saying he's he bet four million dollars on
a Super Bowl one time. Guy's got some tails, all right,
Guy's got some stories. So always interesting to hear that
type of stuff. By the way, I wanted to talk

(55:41):
a little bit of college football. Jeff always loves this,
you know, he loves talking college ball. But I was
thinking about this, and we've touched on it briefly, but
could this be the biggest factor that separates the top
teams in college football. Some of these top teams they've
gotten experienced quarterback, and some of these other teams that
are in the mix, they have in experienced quarterbacks that

(56:01):
are there. And you look at the odds here, do
you think this could be one of the biggest factors
or the biggest factor that swings it as the season
goes along? Where take Penn State, Clemson, right, Drew roller
k club Nick. They've had a lot of reps, a
lot of experience. Do you tend to go in that

(56:23):
direction compared to a team that's maybe starting a guy
for the first time, doesn't have hardly any experience whatsoever.
How much do you factor that into who does what
this season?

Speaker 1 (56:33):
I mean, I think you have to, especially if you
look at Clemson, right. I mean, Clemson is a team
that I'm high on because they have all those players
coming back, including the quarterback. It's so funny that the
people that are down on Clemson because they're the type
of team we would love in Aerity gibbet year right,
A ton of returning production on offense, a bunch of

(56:54):
professional defensive linemen, a coach who's won before a schedule.
It's not too tough. I mean, these are all things
that we've looked in the past. It's like huge pluses.
But for some reason, I think, Look, I think Dabbo
is kind of corny and I'm not try I terribly
fought would follow him if I played there. I'm not
my cup of tea as a coach. But we're getting
knowledge like he's got a good team this year and

(57:16):
like you still can coach a little bit. That to
me is a huge bonus versus Like you know, Julian
Sane and Ohio State or cart Notre Dame or some
of the guys they haven't played football before. They might
be really good, but guys, it's just hard to win
as a young football player atquit in that position. I
don't know why you pretend every year it's any different.

(57:36):
We see every single season. Look, Bryce Underwood might be
the best quarterback of all time before he leaves Michigan,
he won't be great this season, Dominic Rollo last year, right,
Like guys at all town in the world, some ups
and downs, like that's what happens to true freshmen, and
we we judge these guys so harshly, so it wouldn't
surprise me if some of these young guys are not
exactly true freshmen but have not started games before struggle

(58:00):
in their first year starting in college football.

Speaker 4 (58:05):
Yeah, it's interesting when you know, you look at the
preseason top ten consensus number one Texas with arch Manning,
but everyone forgets that he's only started two games in
his college career. So Ohio State and Georgia have the
starting quarterbacks without much experience too, So it looks like
Penn State and maybe, like you said, Clemson, Yeah, they

(58:30):
have the most experience. It's gonna be a fun season, though.
I can't wait. Interesting situations here. There's so many people
that want to knock these big guys to against them,
so there's a lot of pressure. I would think there's
a lot of pressure anyway, Jeff, you made or even Brian,
both of you guys. Do you think there's so much
pressure on arch Manning this season?

Speaker 2 (58:51):
A ton?

Speaker 1 (58:52):
Yeah. But I think he's I think he's ready for it.
I don't right, I'm actually not that concerned about that
as part of it, because I think he's he grew
up in that life. I think he ready for it, gotcha.

Speaker 3 (59:02):
Yeah, I just look at the odds to win a championship,
and it's I don't know. It stands out more to
me than I think a lot of years where you
look at these teams that are in the mix, like
on the short list to win a championship odds wise,
and a lot of these teams have a quarterback that
either has very little experience or no college experience.

Speaker 2 (59:22):
It's wild where just go down the list.

Speaker 3 (59:24):
It's Texas Arch hasn't gotten a ton of reps on
the field, right, Ohio State nothing, Georgia next to nothing
right in terms of experience and reps. Bama with Tys Simpson,
Notre Dame with CJ.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
Carr.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
I mean, it's like team after team after team with
a very inexperienced quarterback, and that's gonna matter. It's not
to say that if you don't have experienced you're destined
to fail. It's not to say that, but experience does matter.
I don't want to make it out to be the
ultimate advantage either. You could use this example on the
flip side. Look at Penn State. Drew Aller has had

(59:58):
a lot of experience there and what happened against Notre
Dame in the semi final game. He's throwing a costly
interception in the final minute. So just because you have
an experienced quarterback doesn't mean it's the ultimate advantage or
anything like that, but it does matter. It's something that
you have to throw into the equation there.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
I feel like it does. And you know, some of
these guys, you know, starting like really early with you know,
having to play you know that Texas Ohio State game. Yeah,
I like the under that game for that reason. I
think we've have two quarterbacks, haven't played a lot of ball,
two good defenses, has two new running backs as well.
I mean they have a lot of new on their team.

(01:00:35):
The under is low. It's it's always tough to take
a total under fifty in college football, but it does
feel like that is surely the right side crack. You
mentioned you like something collegetable a week an underdog and
on Thursday.

Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
Is there a I was looking at I think it's Thursday.
It's just just the anti unlv MGM did.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Not have a line up to Sam Houston State.

Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
Yeah, Sam Houston and the line was like eleven and
a half, twelve and a half, thirteen.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
It was thirteen half yesterday. I know that I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:01:04):
See for some reason, it didn't come back on the
board at bet MGM right now. There was a kind
of a major line move towards Sam Houston. So I
didn't think it was fair to give it out because
they did not have it up. There were other sportsbooks
had it up at eleven and a half. But yeah, listen,
they did not play like a thirty point. But by

(01:01:24):
the way that line went from like twenty seven to
like thirty one here.

Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
In Vegas, it was crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
I think. Were they down ten nothing on at the beginning?

Speaker 1 (01:01:32):
They were, they were down the fourth they were tired
of thirty one the fourth.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Order Jesus, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
But Sam Houston State also stinks, so for sure, they
did not look very good yesterday in their game against
Western Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (01:01:46):
I'll tell you what we were talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
It being a red flag in NFL preseason when it's
like the first string offense and you know they're having
a hard time against the second string defense, you say
the same thing. In college football. It is a red flag.
If there's an FBS team, huh, and they are losing
to an FCS team late at home, like UNLV was,

(01:02:09):
that is a huge red flag of what they're capable
of as the season goes along.

Speaker 1 (01:02:13):
Year for sure, be fair. Organ was down I think
or tied fourteen to fourteen the fourth Organs Idaho last year.

Speaker 2 (01:02:19):
That's true. So they went undefeated until.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
It was I'm going to I'm going next. I would
not be on the show next weekend, by the way,
I haven't told you guys. I'm gonna be in Eugene,
Organ to watch them play Montana State. We fly back
Sunday morning, so I'm hoping that we have a little
different outcome than the sweat of an Idaho Week one
game where Oregon was was hopeful to beat Idaho. Hope
Montana goes better Montesday number in the country an FCS,

(01:02:45):
So it could be a sweat for us again.

Speaker 3 (01:02:48):
Yeah, yeah, could be uh speaking of uh, you know,
you go from sweat to no sweat, right, you're talking
about betting sweats. Then we go to a no sweat update,
you know what I mean. Very laid back, enjoyable led
by Isaac lowenkron I low with the latest.

Speaker 2 (01:03:06):
What's going on, Bud.

Speaker 7 (01:03:07):
There's actually a lot of sweating going on right now, guys,
because you've heard of.

Speaker 2 (01:03:10):
The coaching carousel.

Speaker 7 (01:03:11):
While the backup quarterback carousel has just cranked into high gear.
All this has happened in the last few minutes. The
Minnesota Vikings are signing veteran Carson Wentz to be their
backup quarterback and are trading quarterback Sam Howe to the
Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee

(01:03:31):
presently dealing with a finger injury, so the Vikings signing
Carson Wentz and trading Sam Howe to the Eagles. Las
Vegas Raiders backup quarterback aid And O'Connell broke his right wrist. Meanwhile,
in last night's preseason lost to Arizona and will miss
six to eight weeks. Right now, rookie sixth round draft
pick Cam Miller is presently next on the depth chart,

(01:03:54):
but for example, Carson Wentz is now off the board
as a potential backup with Las Vegas because he just
signed with the Vikings.

Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
Elsewhere.

Speaker 7 (01:04:01):
On Saturday night, the San Francisco forty nine Ers defeated
the Los Angeles Chargers thirty to twenty three. The forty
nine ers final score came about a twenty two yard
touchdown reception by Tariq Owens. The son of Pro Football
Hall of Famer and former forty nine er receiver Terrell Owens.
In Major League Baseball Saturday night, the San Diego Padres
defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers five to one to take

(01:04:23):
over first place in the National League West. Kyle Tucker
hit two home runs and had five RBI as the
Cubs beat the Angels in Anaheim twelve to one. Reese
Maguire a grand slam for the Cubs, who have won
seven of their last nine, and the New York Mets
hit six home runs and a nine to two victory
over the Atlanta Braves. Jeff McNeil and Mark Viento's hit

(01:04:45):
two home runs a piece, and we're looking in yep,
no more backup quarterback movement in the last thirty seconds.

Speaker 2 (01:04:51):
Back to you, guys, Thank you.

Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
I Low.

Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bet MGM.
I feel older every day basically because of football.

Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
I love Tarall Owen's son playing college. Well, Kurt Warner's son,
Kurt Warner, He's not that old, right, Like Kurt Warner's
son starting for Fresno State. I'm like, wow, man, these
guys have kids in college.

Speaker 1 (01:05:14):
Now Son. Yeah, poor friends yesterday. They're going through a
tough rebuild. That was that was that was a rough one.

Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
For the Can you name anyone in uh maybe sports
in general that blew so much money than Sam Howell.
I think he was set to make so much money,
and I just think that those going into the playoffs
there really hurt him. And I'm just looking at his contract.
I was wondering how much it was. It looks like

(01:05:46):
about a million a year, but I thought he was
set to have a bigger contract.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
I think you're thinking Donald.

Speaker 4 (01:05:53):
I am thinking Donald. You're right, thinking Donald, right, right, right,
You're right, I said Sam Howell. It was Donald. But
there's one. There's one for you. Darnold though.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
No, absolutely, But there's a guy that will cost himself
a lot of money.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
The hell is interesting because obviously they mustang. Tanner's finger
injury is pretty bad if we're in a trade for
how because the Eagles are very productive with backup quarterbacks.
Was that Kim Is that Kim Miller of the Raiders?
Is that in that North Dakota State? Yeah, I think
that's who it is. I I had this wager last
year North Flida State was playing someone. Maybe it was

(01:06:30):
it was it was in a playoff game last year.
I believe I had Cam Miller over two hundred yards
passing two hundred plus yards in a parlay.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
I vaguely remember this.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Yeah, and it was two hundred plus yards passing. Okay,
I hit the first three legs. I need the fourth leg,
the passing leg crack for two hundred yards and he
originally it said he had two hundred yards in the
box score. Hit the wager and then I then it
went to So I added up all the passing yards

(01:07:03):
in the game and ended up being two hundred yards.
I manually went through and added up the passing yards,
and I was like, what, how is it one y
nine when it was two for twenty yards. The official
record book of the game shorted the North Kota State
offense one yard on a penalty, so like it was
the ball to the thirty six crack Yep, it was

(01:07:25):
a false start. The official record book put the ball
at the forty, not to forty one. Oh my god,
So he had a thirty nine yard pass. The next
play that actually went down is thirty eight yards. Wow,
even though it was thirty nine yards. So I lost
by a yard. But I actually won, but I don't
know who to complain to, yeh, what I had to

(01:07:48):
let I might even do a two hundred bucks like
I lost. I don't know. I mean, I don't know
what to say, but I certainly I won the wager.
He threw for twenty yards, that's what he did, but
officially one night nine because they had messed up the
official recording of an off sides penalty.

Speaker 3 (01:08:05):
You know, it's random, but you know what it reminds
me of is, you know, the the official like the
new virtual spotting of the ball and all the virtual measurements.
It's not spotting of the ball. The officialill still do that,
but the NFL. You've seen this in the preseason.

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
It's awful. I freaking hate it. It takes way too long, man,
I agree, yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
By the way, it takes way too long. And the
officials has been right every single time, by the way,
like there's not been one time it's overturned. That's why
it's done. Like, if you're gonna have a system like this,
like Baseball is trying out that in that system where
they do the balls and strikes right, yep, that takes
fifteen seconds. I ran in a minor league ballpark fifteen seconds,
and oftentimes umpire like it was in the game I

(01:08:48):
was at Umpire was right all three times. I'm sure
it felt great about it. He's like, awesome and challenge me.
It's but like it takes fifteen seconds done, end of story.
If you're gonna do this virtual spotting thing, it takes
way too long. Old men and chain come out just
as fast. And yeah, and the ball and also too.
It's worth pointing out that a lot of times the officials,

(01:09:10):
let's say you know, you have a carry and you
fall down, you're between the twenty five and twenty six. Okay,
they'll move the ball to the twenty six and spot
it there. Don't have to worry about the ball being
in the middle of the hash mark for measurements. They
started doing that kind of secretly, slowly doing that, Like
they won't take a ball that's on the twenty five
and move, but if you fall in the middle, they're

(01:09:32):
kind of moving forward a little bit, so they don't
have to worry about these spots that are like in
between hashes, right in between yard lines. It makes it
easier if it's on a yard line did you make
it the yard line or not? And the replay review
is not actually checking whether the spot is right or not.
It's checking why it's a first down or not. No
one wants that. I want to make sure the spot
is correct, not whether it's a first down that could

(01:09:52):
be measured by the chains. That's the point of the chain.
So it feels like another thing that like does it.
It's not really done correctly, be that's what.

Speaker 4 (01:10:01):
It feels like. It feels like it's not done. And
that big delay of no one's talking showing the ball
and there just sitting there.

Speaker 2 (01:10:09):
You're like, nothing's happening.

Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
It's kind of weird. It's kind of it makes you
feel a little uneasy, like yeah, and Jeff said, he's right.
They got it right anyway, so like.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
Come on, yeah, like the chain gang. You can see it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
They're like, okay, they got twenty more yards to run,
but they're getting.

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
There right, And then you have the measurement and you're done.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
It feels like forever you're just staring at the jumbo
tron like nothing still still nothing, still waiting, and then
it finally, Oh I hate it. It's so they got
to speed that up, man, it's bad. By the way,
did you guys see about Malik Beasley, the NBA player,
So he's off the hook right now. He was the
target of a federal gambling investigation. There were you've seen

(01:10:52):
all these highlight tapes right where there are some instances
in games where it's like that looks a little funny.
Why would he like take the ball from one end
and race to the other end just to cover the spread?

Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
What's going on here exactly?

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
You know? And so anyway, the Feds they did their investigation,
and he's off the hook. He's basically been cleared as
of right now.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
I was curious what you thought about this.

Speaker 3 (01:11:15):
Do you think that he's innocent or do you think
that it's just hard to prove some of these things
that he truly was guilty.

Speaker 2 (01:11:22):
What do you think is more probable here?

Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
Well, it's probable that nothing that nothing happened. But I
will say, like some of the best guys are taking
a long time, like the Cleveland command of the Cleveland
Guardians pictures like what's thinking so long for this? Maybe
the determined wasn't easy to prove, or no one's making
a prof off of it because a lot of money
issues though, besides the gambling thing, so maybe they couldn't

(01:11:49):
prove a cract. I don't really know why they decided
he wasn't you know, he wasn't indicted.

Speaker 4 (01:11:53):
Yeah, it's interesting, you know. I heard to source that
point into a game that basically was on the bucks
in January. Have twenty four the odds on Beasley going
under rebounds move from around plus one twenty under twenty
half rebounds right under was plus one twenty and then
it moved to like two minus two point fifty due

(01:12:15):
to all the action on the under. He finished with
six rebounds.

Speaker 2 (01:12:18):
I know he was guyed over.

Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
Yeah, Like I don't know sometimes you know, but but
you do hear these stories about his finances too, and
I don't know the guy. The guy still makes a
lot of money. Would these guys these are they really
you know, the hardness to get down money out of
prop it's my living, it's my life. If I tried
running all around playing all my apps in town, maybe

(01:12:43):
I get back down thirty five hundred, I mean to
think about that, me get thirty maybe four thousand bucks, Like,
you know, hardness to get down on the on some
of these props and you're saying, these guys are involved
in giving out this these these things to their friends
when they're making you know, three hundred times that or
per week. I mean, come on, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:13:03):
A weird thing, right, because you can watch all the
highlight tapes you want and stuff looks a little peculiar.
You mentioned the baseball stuff, Jeff, Like the first pitch
and some of these pitchers are like dirting the ball.
It's not even close. It's skipping to the catcher. You know,
You're like, that seems really fishy, and it might be.

(01:13:24):
But the other side of that is just because it
looks peculiar doesn't mean that it is for sure. And
what I do know is that's your job as a
federal investigation to prove that this happened. And that's not
as easy as you think it is. So I don't
know that Malik Beasley is completely innocent, but I know

(01:13:44):
that it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:13:46):
They weren't able to prove that he was guilty that much.

Speaker 4 (01:13:49):
I do know.

Speaker 3 (01:13:50):
It's the old Denzel line right in Training Day, my
favorite movies of all time with Denzel.

Speaker 2 (01:13:55):
Is not what you know is what you can prove.

Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
That's it, right, That's where we're at in the gambling
the sports betting situation here with players and their prop bets,
and did they provide inside information or I mean, it's
one thing to know you did say you got to
prove it. You got to prove it for these guys
to really be indicted and all that stuff, you know,
convictions charges all that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:20):
So anyway we move forward.

Speaker 3 (01:14:21):

inside information for this next segment. Right, we'll have the
prop betting market circled and we'll compare some picks together.
It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by betmg It
is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by Bett MGM, and

(01:15:06):
it is time for the tire rack play of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
At betcoll alone in an empty backfield four times flacked
wine and back weld run it mostop TV.

Speaker 7 (01:15:16):
Block TX down rock up backs.

Speaker 1 (01:15:20):
What a great blundy.

Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
Call my twer bouser. There you go.

Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
That's John Walters from lear Field on the call. Iowa
State pulls it out against Kansas State yesterday. For over
forty years, Tyraq has been helping customers find the right
tires for how, what and where they drive, shipped fast
and free, backed by free road hazard protection with convenient
installation options like mobile tire installation tire rack dot Com.
The way tire buying should be. All right, let's do.

Speaker 5 (01:15:47):
This prop it up player plays all right?

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
The PLoP betting market here at crack you live for this.
What's something you like today?

Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
Let's go to the w M. Paige Beckers on Dallas
over eighteen and a half points because she's gonna win
the Rookie of the Year. So he's averaging eighteen plus
field goals attempts a game, scored forty four in a
game last week up against the weak Golden State team
that has prop is stopped. The guards all season. Let's
go over the eighteen and.

Speaker 1 (01:16:18):
A half points. Okay, let's see here. I think we
have alternate player points up. They don't have over unders yet.

Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
I know it.

Speaker 1 (01:16:28):
Yeah, I'll give you one now that it will It
will be on bet MGM later. I promising this one.
Lexi Hall under nine and a half points today for
the Fever had I think nearly a career high the
other night twenty three points five sixty three points. I
faded her in the middle of the game. I for

(01:16:49):
that I like to do in the WNBA as someone
who has a ticket amount of points a halftime to
take the under shot eighteen points a halftime. It was
twenty four and a half to finish with twenty three.
So I like Lexi Hall under today for the fief.
I mentioned the Paul Skeins over as well. And I'm
looking if they have props for college football before. Probably

(01:17:11):
don't have it up yet. They do not, because I'm
looking at Georgia Tech's running back if they have it up.
They don't have it up yet, but that's what I'm eying.
That's obviously before we get to to Friday nights.

Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
You know, it's funny.

Speaker 3 (01:17:24):
Jeff Crack when you were joining us today. You know,
it was just Jeff and me for a couple of minutes,
and Jeff jokingly said, hey, we can just talk all
WNBA until Crack joins us here and real fast during
prop it up, I gotta share a quick story. We're
at the Ben Mallor meet and Greek yesterday and Jeff,
I swear this guy he listens to Fox Sports Radio.

(01:17:47):
It came up to me and he goes, hey, man,
why does Fox talk about the WNBA.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Nobody watches this league? And I literally I'm like, dude,
check it out.

Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
So this is the text thread I have with Jeff Schwartz, right,
And I'm just showing him all these texts that we
have about the w NBA, and it's all I'm laying
the two and a half with this team. I'm fading display,
it's all w NBA. It was amazing. It blew his mind.

Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
He's like, wow, people really do.

Speaker 1 (01:18:17):
What But to be fair, like I'm not watching a
ton of it. I'm just following on my phone or
like I'm not like staying there like checking. I'm just
checking the scores and what I mean, it's a pretty
easy league to figure out once you kind of get
the pace of like what's happening. I'm not watching every game,
like I might watch Fever tonight at seven o'clock, but
my family's back from the beach. I'm playing, not spend

(01:18:38):
time watching a Fever play, right, But like, yeah, I
mean it's it's a fascinating link to bet. I'll tell
you that it's interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
I'm gonna go with Kiki erafin her rebounding total nine
and a half today.

Speaker 2 (01:18:51):
I think she can get to double digits.

Speaker 3 (01:18:53):
I know they're on the second day of a back
to back, if you will, but the Seattle Storm that
they're a little they're a lot more finet on the
on the glass there. You know, where you've got Magmagore,
you've got Akoo McKay. They're not like Eria Finn where
she's you know, she's got some size to her and
she's moving people out of the way.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
I like Kiki overnight and.

Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
A half rebounds today against the Storm, so I'll go
with that problem.

Speaker 1 (01:19:19):
I don't think she plays enough minutes.

Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
That's the only wild card right there. It's crazy if
she gets her minutes. She's typically fine with these overs,
but every now and then you're audit and it's like cool,
they're just they're not playing her today for no reason.
It's weird how they do that.

Speaker 1 (01:19:38):
Just she's won't get minutes, so play just X amount
of minutes and no more.

Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
So that person that that said that to you, Brian, Yeah,
and that's you know. Of course, we're open to any
kind of constructive criticism or anything. The thing is we're
a sports betting show also, so you have to understand
the eyes on the big The big games are kind
of efficient. The big leagues are NBA, NFL, WNBA sometimes

(01:20:06):
is not efficient, so we try to look for the
little steals. You know, absolutely we do.

Speaker 2 (01:20:10):
We're looking to steal, right, Crack exactly what we're looking.

Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
To do, all right, Coming up next Top of the hour,
Matthew Boyer, Crack.

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
Sky Right, he had.

Speaker 3 (01:20:21):
An illegal book making operation show hey Otani's interpreter was
betting through him. So he's got all sorts of stories,
actually facing some jail time, so very interesting stuff that
we'll get into. Crack mentioned he had a four million
dollar bet on the Super Bowl at one time. He's
got a new book out, so very interesting stuff. Matthew

(01:20:42):
Boyer coming up, next, so we'll talk shop with him.
Stay with us. That's on the way. Oh what is
going on? Happy Sunday to you as we roll forward,
ball on the brain always. We'll get to the football
here momentarily. But for first special guest Matthew Boyer joining

(01:21:03):
us here. Very interesting stuff right where Matthew. Good morning
to you. I was thinking you were a book maker
and now you're a book maker, right you got a
book out recalibrate on Amazon.

Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
Congrats to you. That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:21:15):
I guess to start us off, can you just summarize
your story for us how you became a bookmaker in
the first place, how you got in trouble with the
Feds and the punishment you face.

Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
How would you summarize everything for us?

Speaker 8 (01:21:27):
Good morning guys. Thanks for having me on the show.
I appreciate it. The answer your question to meemorize everything.
And you know, short window is when I was a
young boy, my parent grandparents used to take me to
the racetrack and kind of introduced me to gambling was
very big part of our culture growing up, you know,
playing yazi for money and you know, going to the
track and bet and trifecta. You know, it's called eight

(01:21:49):
nine years old, and basically when my parents got divorced.
At a young age, I started hustling and writing a
poker ring out of my house, taking bet at you know,
fourteen fifteen years old, and that developed bigger and bigger
as I got older, and of course when I became
a commodity trader at nineteen years old, I started making
pretty good money legally, and I was around an operation

(01:22:12):
where there was quite a few guys that were gambling
at a very high level, and I started taking advantage
of that by booking your bets and kind of running
a pretty large business at a young age. And then
of course, once the Internet came into to the world,
that's when I scaled my business and kind of grew
it into more of a global business. At the age
of about twenty four to twenty five than I had

(01:22:33):
quite a few agents across the country, and then of
course developing that into about maybe thirty thirty five years old,
I started gambling on a very high level personally throughout
Las Vegas and throughout the country really as a gambler.
And then you fat forward to basically two years ago,
the FBI raided my home with twenty nine federal agents

(01:22:54):
and came in and pretty much took everything. And here
I am regrouping, wrote my book reached Out, which kind
of details much more of this in detail, of course.
And though it was a wild ride, I mean between
the ages of let's call it twenty one years old
and now fifty, I just turned fifty, I've gambled at
highest levels in the country and been to every casino

(01:23:15):
and in fact, Phil Krackenberger's ran into me many many times,
and we've gambled together. And so that's really the summarization
of a long winded story.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
Can you take us to the morning of the day
of the FBI raid kind of what was your thought
process at least hearing about it or learning about it,
and sort of where your mind went that day.

Speaker 8 (01:23:38):
The reason I wrote my book and the reason I
called it recalibrated, because that's exactly what I did many
times as a gambler in life. You stumble, and you know,
you run out of money, you go broke, you borrow,
you do whatever you got to do. And not only
was a huge gambler and did that many times, but
that was a different moment because when I had twenty

(01:23:59):
nine FBI agents at my house and I was holding
my two year old boy, watching my wife come out
of the house handcuff crying was something I'll never forget.
And clearly, as a father of five, I had a
massive guilt that day and I had to recalibrate into
something new. Being a book maker for so many years
and so long, it was time to make a change, clearly,

(01:24:20):
and I was forced into making a change, which was
really a positive. You know, a lot of people I
described the event as a major positive in my household,
and it's hard to say that because you're going through
something so traumatic, but it really was a time to
shift and do something, you know, not only more impactful
in life, which is what I'm doing now, but I

(01:24:41):
needed to get out of that and the actual gambling
I was doing personally was affecting, you know, my present,
being president as a father, being president as a person
is very overwhelming to gamble at that level, the highs
and lows. But as far as the raid itself, watching
you know, twenty nine agents taking all your money and
electronics and gas, jewelry, handbag to my wife had just

(01:25:06):
was very you know, I mean the word for it,
really there's There's probably one hundred words I could give you,
but the bottom line is I had to make a
decision to you know, what am I going to do next?
At fifty years old? Having know I'm going to be
a felon, I can't get a state license and I
have five kids to feed was a big challenge and
still is now. I'm taking a prison sentence because of that.

Speaker 4 (01:25:28):
So sure, Matt, thanks for coming on with us. But
this is a good platform for you. So that's why
I asked you to come on with us. And like
you said, I've known Matt for close to two decades
from going around to these bigger tournaments. I set you
up earlier talking about how I would talk about this.
We've been in a lot of big tournaments around the
Bahamas and Costa Rica and and uh, of course the

(01:25:53):
one stands out to me was Pouta Khana, and I
was telling these guys a little bit about this. I
knew you were a big gaml and I knew I
knew what your occupation was. I never asked you for
an account because I just knew I wouldn't get it anyway.
But like you said, when I was I interviewed him
the other day he said that someone, I guess someone
told you don't take his action whatever, so they already

(01:26:14):
I guess sure, so you knew already. But however, though
watching you and sitting down with you at a table
and watching you bet two hundred thousand, I couldn't believe
someone would take two hundred thousand of hands at baccara.
You had a couple of different guys with your family
and stuff, and you guys were betting even up to
three hundred thousand a hand. I told the guys about
your big super Bowl bet, So tell them the amount

(01:26:36):
of money you bet on the Super Bowl bet? And
you won that bet, correct.

Speaker 8 (01:26:40):
You know, I got really lefty clearly in twenty twenty three.
My appetite for gambling just got bigger and bigger as
my business got bigger. And as a gambler, especially a
Dejenner gambler, and I want to be clear, that's there's
a big difference between Krackenberger and myself. You know, the
more you bet, the more you got a dopamine rush.
It's really the only thing I was chasing. At the point,

(01:27:00):
I already I already had quite a bit of money,
and you know, all the successes of things that you
would think you would want. I had Rolls, Royce Eventley,
a big house and beautiful wife and all that fun.
But the reality is that's why I wasn't chasing money.
I was chasing a dopamine rush. So if I didn't
bet a lot or enough to where it was bigger
than the previous bet, it really didn't fulfill that that rush.

(01:27:24):
So twenty twenty three, I was in the Bahamas the
Atlantis and I bet four point four excuse me, four
point two million on the game, and then at halftime,
when the Chiefs were down by I think ten or seven,
I can't remember the exact amount, I bet another four
hundred thousand, so four point six million total, which you know,
for people who don't gamble, they don't realize it's really

(01:27:44):
a nine point two million dollars swing on your bank roll,
And to have that kind of money riding on a
halftime basically was very intense.

Speaker 4 (01:27:52):
They believe Holmes.

Speaker 2 (01:27:55):
I thought the same thing, correct.

Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:27:57):
They They said Chad Henney was going to come back
out most likely, and the people have to be why
did you bet four hundred thousand and the second half
knowing that and I said, to be honest, because I
already thought the four point two was dusted. I just
was chasing, just trying to get down more, hoping they
would come back and make it a game, I guess.
And luckily for me, I'm homes it is magic and
I'm sure they shot him up with some cortizona and

(01:28:19):
he came out ready to roll, as you guys know,
and the ending was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:28:23):
They shot him up with dopamine. Matt, I don't know
if you know.

Speaker 8 (01:28:26):
That well clearly, I mean, I promise you I had
plenty to give him.

Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
Yeah, right, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
Well you did mention in passing the prison sentence that
you face.

Speaker 2 (01:28:36):
When does that start? How long is it?

Speaker 8 (01:28:39):
So Friday? This suming Friday, which obviously is right around
the corner here, and the anxiety's very high in my household,
including personally. I'll be nine am, I'll be in front
of the judge. We're looking at a fifteen month sentence.
That really that's kind of the outcome that we're expecting.
Don't know that we'll find out and the unknown is

(01:28:59):
the worst part. That being said, I'll probably have three
to four weeks to check into whatever facility I go to,
and it's going to be the hardest thing I've ever
endured in my life, being away from my family. And
despite what the media portrays, I mean, you know, always
make you look bad in the media and you have
no narrative, but the reality is I'm madly in love
with my wife, i have an amazing five children, free

(01:29:20):
relationship with everybody and being a father. The number one
thing I've really prided myself in is that I've done
a most amazing job of trying to provide and protect
and be there for them. And for the first time
of my life, I'm letting them down and myself and
really everybody in my life knowing that I'm not going
to be able to be present. So there are consequences

(01:29:41):
for your actions in life. And that's really what I'm
trying to teach them because at the end of the day,
I made a poor choice, and well many of them, really,
but one major poor choice. And if I could teach
them anything out of this, it's how I'm handling it
and just being impactful for people that are maybe having
our tony to turn their life around before it gets
to this or instead of making a poor choice or

(01:30:04):
decision that you don't think about down the road. I
was a young kid when I started booking vets, and
I love sports and gambling, So it's a really deadly
combination for a young boy who wants to make money
and not after watching his parents lose everything and kind
of go through that, you know, you always want to
make more money and provide and do things that maybe
your parents didn't, and so, you know, the lessons in

(01:30:25):
life are hard sometimes when you deal with them later,
because you have a lot more to you know, people involved,
and a lot more consequences for your actions.

Speaker 1 (01:30:34):
What advice do you give someone who is young and
wants to get in a sports wager? And obviously now
it's much easier, right you can go to a lot
of states, you know, legal sports books, legal apps, and
find a way to do that. What advice if if
someone's asking you, hey, man, I'm twenty three, you know,
should I get a sports wager? And what advice would
you give them?

Speaker 8 (01:30:55):
That is a great question. I'm really glad to ask
that because it's so imperative that I make an impact
to the future. And let's be honest. Lebron James and
Jamie Fox and all these guys that people look up to,
especially these young kids, are advertising this stuff. And I
want to start off by saying, there's nothing wrong with
gambling when it's used appropriately for entertainment and fun and

(01:31:16):
brings people together and you can celebrate, and especially it's
you know, the person who's gambling is doing it, you know,
for those reasons. But let's be real, there's a lot
of dark areas and things that aren't being shown of
addiction and people blowing their brains out financially and losing
so much money that you know, it's affecting the rest
of their life or impacting their relationships, whether it's marriage

(01:31:38):
or not having children or losing their families. And I
think you're seeing that that's kind of transpire even worse
or more so in the next five ten years because
of the fact that gambling is so you know, left
taboo now and it's at nationwide almost and clearly I
think within three years, I think you'll see it pretty
much in every state. But these young kids are you know,

(01:32:00):
going to college and using their excess money, and it's
minute amounts to them at that age. You know, when
you're twenty one, twenty two, you're clearly. You know, let's
say you're USC or Georgia or whatever school you're at.
You know you're using your excess money and it doesn't
impact your life dramatically. Whereas when they're thirty and they
have a career and they have maybe a baby or two,

(01:32:20):
and now you're using funds that effect putting food on
the table or the paying their mortgage. That's when the
end result's going to be much worse. And I think
you're going to see that sadly in the next five years.

Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
So Matt, just get on to this part. This is
what everyone a juicy part. Everyone wants to hear. I
like this part of it because it shows how much
money these casinos and they get to keep it. All
of the Otani money that was sent to you from
Ipe his assistant. How much money did he send to you,
and how much money did you blow of that money

(01:32:51):
in the casino?

Speaker 8 (01:32:53):
Well, and I was received sixteen point two million, and
a large majority of that I paid out to my
agent who brought me that package. And you understand that
very well. Bill. So the reality is I lost over
thirteen million in the casinos and all to mostly the
resources worlds, and so technically I lost money on the

(01:33:15):
whole deal. To be dead honest with you, between giving
the agent the money and what I lost, which is
on me. I made that decision. So I want to
be clear. I'm not I'm not blaming anyone, but I'm
not a victim. You know. I chose to do what
I did.

Speaker 4 (01:33:27):
But that is the case. Rustein says. In the end,
the casinos get it all. I mean they do.

Speaker 8 (01:33:32):
They really do. There's no question.

Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
And and your book recalibrate and your you know, your socials.
I'm going to put that on here too. Where can
they find your book, Matt? Where where can we find
but this fantastic book by the way, Usually people don't
have a book like this already done before going away
before sentencing. And I will say, Matt's a rare case.
He actually paid. Would you pay the government one point

(01:33:55):
seven million or something? You paid him back to restitution already?

Speaker 8 (01:33:58):
If yeah, it's just just under one point seven I
paid every dollar before you see the judge, which is
less than one percent of anyone not only does that,
but then, to be honest, less than seven percent of
our pay resk issition period because most people never dig
out of the hole and kind of owe them the
rest of their life. That being said, you know, I
wrote my book literally started writing it pretty much the

(01:34:19):
minute I got rated. I mean, I had to recalibrate,
which is why I named it that. And the book
is not a book that you know, people are going
to read and think, Wow, he's just boasting about his lifestyle,
because in reality, it's the polar opposite. It's showing the lows,
the dark moments as well as some of the highs.
And I want to be real with people and authentic

(01:34:39):
and show them. You know, gambling is you see me
on a private jet and you see me gambling, like
you said, three hundred thousand on a hand. That looks glamorous.
It does. And I'm walking with the beautiful my wife,
and We're wearing nice clothes and whatever. But at the
end of the day, there's dark moments where I'm in
my room literally crying like a little baby. I just
lost two million dollars and you know, you go home,

(01:35:00):
can't pay people or bills and got to figure things out.
There's dark moments that I do show, But my book
is on Amazon. Fell Recalibrate by Matthew Boyer and obviously
at my own website, I sell it as well at
Matthew Boyer dot com.

Speaker 4 (01:35:13):
That was the biggest shock there too. By the way,
I've known Matt for years. I had no idea that
he would lose two millions, three million dollars and go
home and say, oh, how do I pay this now?
I was like, I just for some reason, I just
thought you had a giant stash of money you just pay.
I never knew that you actually went home and you
were actually upside down, let's call it, and you had

(01:35:36):
to oh one, and you had to just figure out
where are you going to get this money from. I
had no idea, Wow, what a feeling that must have
been sickening that plane ride home.

Speaker 8 (01:35:44):
Yeah, you know, build many times I would come home
and truly be in a position I lost. One time
I lost three million to win and a few other places.
Got in Vegas, got home, I owed a bunch of
markers in town. And then, of course, back then I
was a book maker, so my business and beat up
for like a million five so you're talking about a
four and a half million dollar swing, and then of

(01:36:05):
course you have no matter what, the bills don't go away.
You still got you know, expensive cars and homes and
all the stuff with the kids. So you come home
and it's like, oh my gosh, I got I gotta
pay all this. You know, maybe I lost two million
in cash, but I still another two and a half million,
and maybe I had five hundred thousand of cash at
my home. Whatever. I'm just giving an example. So now
I got to go out and borrow len figure it out,

(01:36:27):
get two million dollars. And I did that times. But
I'd always say everybody back with some juice, et cetera.
And then there was a moment time seriously, I'd come
home and I'd have, you know, ten million in cash.
You know, so the hides and lows of gambling, and
especially at that level, it could turn on a dime
both ways.

Speaker 2 (01:36:44):
Wow, how did you unwind?

Speaker 4 (01:36:46):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
You don't take that prime candidate to need to unwind
at some point, right?

Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
Wow?

Speaker 8 (01:36:53):
Yeah, I mean unwinding never happened. I mean between the
ages of really sixteen, tell well, I'll tell you when
i'm minded, when twenty nine federal agents raided my home.
That's where that's what I have found to know and
because to be honest with you. I haven't gambled in
quite some time. I gambled a little bit in truth
after I was raided at local casinos that wasn't barred
or banned yet I went to Batanga and I was

(01:37:15):
kind of again dopamine Russia. I've always chased that, but
once I was one in the court, but guilty. I
have not gambled, sense I don't. You know, I don't.
The dopamine rush is trying. I find it in different ways,
and that's something I'm learning, is that you know, how
do you know? Continue to find it? And to me,
it's impacting people now, believe it or not. You know,
I've helped so many people on my Instagram with addictions

(01:37:37):
in different areas or mindset and just really I think
some people have inspired me by being inspired by me,
by saying, hey, man, I've been watching your story. I
can't believe that you are so positive. I can't believe you're,
you know, still doing what you're doing and being out there.
And I'm like, you know, at the end of the day,
you just got to own your shit. Excuse my language,
but you just got to be who you are. And

(01:37:59):
I can't take back the things that I've done wrong.
But what I can do is pave a path that's
better for me, for my kids and show them truly
that hold your head high. Nobody's perfect and you can
watch Facebook and Instagram and all these people that put
off this perfect life, but there's behind the closed doors.
There's a lot more going on, and there's a lot
more people that have it much worse than you.

Speaker 3 (01:38:20):
No, really good stuff, Matthew, appreciate your time today.

Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
Good luck with the brook Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
I hope everything goes well Friday and beyond. Man, but
thanks for spending some time with us this morning.

Speaker 8 (01:38:31):
Hey guys, thanks for giving me a platform to tell
a little bit about my story. Thanks for having me.
Really appreciate it. You guys have an amazing show and
I'm grateful to be here today.

Speaker 3 (01:38:39):
Awesome, awesoll, thank you. I appreciate that, Matthew. Good stuff.
And like you said, the book Recalibrate available on Amazon. Wow,
there's some crazy stories in there.

Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
Yeah, how about the ten million in cash? I mean
going home having ten million in cash, and.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
That would be the high side crack.

Speaker 4 (01:38:56):
You know, it's the high side and then but then
the low side. You missed those those I gotta tell
you something. Talking the Matt before the show, you missed
those private jay He's been on five hundred private jets.
He's been, you know, through these ten thousand dollars meals,
and you know, I've been on you know, let's say
a dozen of those jets. Sometimes we go into these
tournaments and stuff, and it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool

(01:39:19):
when you just limo pulls up, drops you off, there's
no tsa, get in the plane, go same thing. Get
it's really really cool and you're going on these beautiful
you know, thirty million dollars G five. It's it's it's
really cool. It's it's a cool thing. But in the end,
look what happened. In the end, he has to go away.
He said a story to me about his son bought

(01:39:39):
a they had a their Halloween costume he had. He
opened up and he said, Daddy, I'm going as Shrek?
Are you gonna go as Shrek with me? And he's
not going to be here. Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (01:39:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
So it really hit him, and it just hit him
so bad and so hard. He has a four year
old son, so it really but he's going to pay
for his and you know, he's gonna go away for
probably about a year and a half and through his
time like a man. I know everyone wants some juicy
questions and stuff, but listen, he's there to help. Now

(01:40:12):
the book is there to help. He's trying to help
people with addiction and talk about the trials and errors.
We talked about a lot of different things when I
when I was when I was over his house. I
actually went over his house and interviewed him, which will
be out next week. So but yeah, it was great
from the jump on with us.

Speaker 3 (01:40:28):
I give him credit because listen, I think there are
a lot of people that will just kind of like
wallow in self.

Speaker 2 (01:40:34):
Pity and he could do that. He's got two choices.
He could wallow in it or he could crawl out
of it.

Speaker 3 (01:40:38):
And he's taking a step further where he's helping people
by crawling out of it. And hey, man, I give
him credit. I love listen some of these documentaries. I
love these documentaries, but a lot of them. The Last
Dance was amazing, but it's this like varnished version. You're
not getting the ugly stories, like the nasty stuff that occurred.

Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
Like I love a story like Matthew where he's letting
you in on the ugly stuff. It isn't just oh
the rolls royces at all, this extravagant night of gamble.
It's like the bad stuff. It's the ugly stuff that's
part of the story. Also a lot of times people
gloss over that. I like that He's given you the
real story. So props do you crack for setting that up?

Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
Really good? No, that was good. It was good. I
was you know, I can't relate to those numbers and stuff.
But I did watch them bet lots of money, lots
of times, and and I even watched him bet in
the sports book. But when he when he told me
about the four million, wow, imagine having a nine. Imagine
Mahomes just hoppling off the side and him saying, I'm

(01:41:40):
betting four hundred thousand more. I still don't get that,
to be honest.

Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
With the commented, looks like Chad Henny's warming up in
the sideline.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
It might be any time.

Speaker 1 (01:41:48):
Yeah, I mean, I get a coun of competitions if
I'm down four hundred dollars. I can't imagine.

Speaker 3 (01:41:53):
I was laughing because he's talking about the sixteen million
at Resorts World. That's where I'll sometimes play the electronic ponies.
You know, I'm sweating like twenty bucks that I gave
nothing in.

Speaker 1 (01:42:03):
Compareon Look you'll crack. I just want to I have
kind of one more question for you on this. So
I guess I probably maybe it was naive to that.
Do a lot of bookmakers that run their own shop,
do they also gamble their own money? I kind of thought, you, like,
it's worse, you know, sure, and you maybe don't combine
both of them. But obviously he was doing both.

Speaker 4 (01:42:21):
He was talking about that even during the door on
the thing here. I didn't realize he had all those
that big operation like he had by the way, so
he had all these. Now an agent's called someone that
gets them, brings him the customer and he gives him
a piece of the customer. I did not realize he
was that big of an operation, and he had forty
eight of those. And I say to myself and almost

(01:42:41):
say to him, Matt, I, wow, you were all that
money coming in. Isn't that a gamble? On each team
you still were betting. It didn't matter. You could just
look at your sheet and say, Okay, I need the Dolphins,
I need the Patriots. I need the you know, the
worst teams. But no, Matt was firing and he loved that.
Uh that that that big dopamine, like he said many times.
Into casinos. He was one of the biggest casino gamblers

(01:43:03):
that I've ever known. And by the way, Triple George
nice to everyone. Tipping everybody didn't matter. One of those
guys that tipped out thousands and tens of thousands per trip.
I know that from some of the guys on the
inside too. This guy would just tip everybody and take
care of maids and butlers and even the pilots on
the plane, so which you know, it means a lot

(01:43:26):
to me. He's a good guy. I know a lot
of those big players there, some of them are cheapest
can be when it comes to certain you know, handling
service people, and that bothers me. So he was the
opposite of that. And we wish him well, and you know,
he got you know, his whole life world up upside down.
I hope his book recalibrate those good and like I said,
we wish him the best for him and his family.

Speaker 2 (01:43:47):
No doubt.

Speaker 3 (01:43:47):
That's Bill Krachenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jeff Schwartz, eight year
NFL veteran, I'm probably in no. You can stream the

Speaker 2 (01:44:16):
Coming up next.

Speaker 3 (01:44:17):

and this is one of them. It is Fox Sports

with Matthew Boyer, who is just on with us, was
a illegal book maker involved with sho Heyo Tani's interpreter.

(01:45:00):
We'd invite you to check out the podcast if you
missed anything of that, any part of that. But the
point is we went a little bit long, and so
instead of diving into the next thing right away, we're
gonna dive into some Isaac Lowin Krown. First off, here
the cool brisk waters of Lake Ilo.

Speaker 2 (01:45:17):
Late this was going on, Bud.

Speaker 7 (01:45:18):
This will be a seemingly all backup quarterback report because
there is a big carousel of backup quarterback movement in
the NFL, and it all precipitated this morning with the
Minnesota Vikings signing veteran Carson Wentz to be their backup quarterback.
They traded quarterback Sam Howe to the Super Bowl champion

(01:45:39):
Philadelphia Eagles. The eagles backup quarterback Tanner McKee is presently
dealing with a finger injury, so these moves take Carson
Wentz off the board for the Las Vegas Raiders because
last night their backup quarterback Aidan O'Connell broke his right
wrist and a loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He's going
to miss six to eight weeks. Rookie sixth round pick

(01:46:01):
Cam Miller is presently next on the depth chart, behind
started Geno Smith in Major League Baseball. On Saturday night,
the San Diego Padres defeat of the Los Angeles Dodgers
five to one to take over first place on the
National League West. Kyle Tucker hit two home runs that
had five RBI as the Cubs defeated the Angels in
Anaheim twelve to one. Rhese Maguire had a grand Slam

(01:46:22):
for the Cubs, who have won seven of nine. Mets
hit six home runs at a nine to two victory
at Atlanta, including two each by Jeff McNeil and Mark
Viento's and the A's what at Seattle in ten innings
two to one On Saturday Night, Guys, back to you,
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
I Low It is Fox Sports Radios Countdown presented by
Bett MGM. So I mentioned you know going to break.
There are certain things you just can't make excuses for.
You gotta call it like it is. Shiloh Sanders with
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he got ejected in the preseason
game yesterday for throwing a punch. It was funny because

(01:46:57):
I randomly saw one of your tweets on this check
and you quote tweeted someone else.

Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
The original tweet was like, what, what's the deal man?
How's he getting thrown out for that?

Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
And you were just matter of fact and paraphrasing, You're like,
he threw a right cross and hit the dude right
in the face in front of the official. It's an
injection every time, Like what are we talking about here?
You just can't make excuses for something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
It is what it is.

Speaker 3 (01:47:20):
But may I don't know what it is with the
excuse making with certain players, but it was front and
center yesterday with this whole thing.

Speaker 1 (01:47:28):
I just I don't get, like the the Dion Sanders
that like the family pandering thing like it is. I
don't understand it, to be honest. And it's there's even
stuff on the chene from yesterday. It doesn't make sense

(01:47:49):
to me. But my favorite two about these things, like
is someone's like, well, that wasn't a punch, that was
an open hand hit to the hellett.

Speaker 2 (01:47:57):
Wow, Okay, he's still ejected.

Speaker 1 (01:48:01):
It's not allowed the other guys should have ejected too,
And I asked for what he's like, he pushed him.
Way you go. That's not an injection in the NFL. Sorry,
punching someone in the helmet is the last thing that
happens to the interaction in front of four referees. Goodbye.
I didn't think should do like the the baseball immediately
just just throw the flag point and like throw them

(01:48:23):
out of there. But like, yeah, I mean, don't don't
punch someone in the helmet. It's like that simple. It's
a simple rule. It's a rule for everyone. They throw
a punch, he got in the helmet, you're gone. And
you gotta be better than that. You gotta be better
than that. As a player a stand you can be physical,
and you can be you know, into football all those things,
and you can be violent and and but there's a

(01:48:44):
line you can't cross, right, throw punch, punching someone is
that line you can't cross? And I don't wonder again
know the NFL. Yeah, there's politics of course involved, but
a lot of it comes down to it's like, you know,
can you help us win or lose? Like it's that simple.
And people are making this out to be like some

(01:49:05):
intense against the Sanders family. No, it's just can you
can you help us winner lose? That's simple, and people
are making it so personal. I don't I don't understand.
I don't get what about this is so personal for
people with the Sanders family. The NFL drafted him a
fifth round, Okay, it happened, Move on and let's go

(01:49:26):
somewhere else. The NFL's if you can help them win,
they're gonna play it. It's that simple.

Speaker 4 (01:49:31):
Yeah, not a great move here for Sanders. He's trying
to make the fifties of your man roster and then
he throws a punch like this. I'm not sure we'll
see Shiloh on the playing field this season. You know.
Social media, though, makes so much out of these things too.
It kind of brings things to a head all the time,
and it's it's almost like these kids at this age,

(01:49:54):
I think about how they were raised. Now, I'm not
gonna use him, but in general, the kids are raised
from Google and social media, and there's constantly you see
these fight videos and they actually have millions of views
like this is like watching a reality show to people.
So these kids don't think twice about throwing a punch

(01:50:16):
or doing something like that without thinking about the implications
of what's going to happen, because they see it everywhere,
and I say, oh, that's cool, it's cool to make
that video. It's just so different than the way we
grew up. I'll even say twenty years ago, you know,
never mind thirty years ago. It's just different. There's different

(01:50:36):
values now too. These things are looked at as cool
and fun. And I see it all the time, and
I even see it in my like my neighborhood. My
friend's son, you know, got caught in a terrible, terrible
fight sucker punching five on one and like, you know,
and why did you do it? His father's like screaming
at him because everyone else was doing it. Like you know,

(01:50:58):
what did our parents tell us back then? If everyone
decides to jump off the George Washington Bridge belly, are
you gonna jump too? Like you know that that's what
they say, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:51:06):
So anyway, Yeah, I just look, man, it was a
really bad mistake by Shiloh. That's the thing is he's
not a starter. It'd be one thing. If he's a starter,
got a roster spot locked up. He is a UD
fa what is an undrafted free agent. He's an undrafted guy.
He's trying to earn a roster spot. If he doesn't
earn one with Tampa, he's trying to land somewhere else.

(01:51:26):
And he just put that on tape for the rest
of the.

Speaker 2 (01:51:28):
League to see. That's a big deal and that the
bigger picture is.

Speaker 3 (01:51:34):
Listen, whether you like Chadur and Shiloh and Dion like
the the trio, or you you dislike him, but whatever,
you gotta check that like or dislike. Don't let that
like or dislike turn you into a moron. But that
is happening left and right. You know, Like I'm personally
out rooting for the guys. I'm not rooting against them.
I'm not gonna let that blind me. I'm gonna tell you,

(01:51:56):
Shudur's got to get rid of the football. Shiloh can't
throw right crosses and punch a guy in front of
an official. Like they just don't let that like blind you.
That's happening all the time now.

Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
Man, Someone compiled these tweets about saduris anders about yesterday
his like performance and non performance, and they're just like
they're just they're just so out of control. Wild about again,
he didn't play the final drive. People talking about they
sabotage to play calling and the offensive line was sabotaging

(01:52:31):
him like all this stuff, Like, oh my god, think
about what you're saying, right, It's like, think about that
for a second. It's it's it's it's crazy, man.

Speaker 3 (01:52:42):
Now the old lineman is sabotaging, like putting bad tape
out there for the league to see while they're trying
to earn roster spots.

Speaker 2 (01:52:50):
Does that make any sense to you at all? Like,
how could you even think that? It's crazy?

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
Craziness? By the way, super fast little baseball here. How
about this? The Phillies lose Zach Wheeler. He's out for
the season, stud pitcher. He had the blood clot going on,
so we had surgery. He's out for six to eight months.
That's a big loss for the Phillies. And meanwhile in
the American League, these Yankees, man, these Yankees are rough.

(01:53:16):
The Red Sox are punishing them. So that being said,
do you recalibrate you ye? Shout out to Matthew Boyer, right,
do you yeah? Do you recalibrate who you like in
the AL or the NL to win the Pennant.

Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
What do you think right now, Jeff.

Speaker 1 (01:53:33):
I the al to me. I mean, the Mariners still
come to mind, But I tell you what, the Ashers
are playing good baseball. Yes, it's kind of a walkie
game for them, but they started turning on at the
right time, which is hugely important. I think I think,
I think I lean toward Mariners or ash I think
I've been been there before, done that's important. National League.

(01:53:58):
I mean, you can never bet on the Padres. That's
just bad. You're just gonna lose money doing that over
the years. But I think I go Phillies. Even with
the Wheeler injury, I know it's bad. As soon as
I heard blood clots. You know he's out for the season.
I don't know why to even say, like, no, no,
it's it's done. Every player who's ever had blood clots,
it's it's a really bad condition. They can lead to death.

(01:54:20):
Like it's like, it's not like you broke your leg.
You're not dying from that unless you get affection. Then
you have to go then have to be untreated. It's
a long process to die from affection. Like you know,
they catch it beforehand. Blood clots man silent killer, like,
there's no there's no messing around, Brian. Right as soon
as I find that blood clot, you're on those blood
thing medicine, you're you're being monitored, and so there's no
messing around. So of course Wheeler was going to be out.

(01:54:41):
But then they have the pitching to withstand that, right,
you the the the the the top. It's aren't get
duran like and you can get the big hits in
the postseason. So I lead to those teams, the Dodgers
to me, just right now, I don't think can get there.
I'm not the Padres. Look if you can get if
the Padres get the sixth inning with a lead, they
got a good chance at any game.

Speaker 4 (01:55:02):
Yeah, you know, why is it that I'm foggy now football?
I feel football starting? But I love playoff Baseball too,
by the way, I love the October runs and I
really do. But it just like football is on my
brain so bad now. And I didn't realize that, like
the Yankees, it might just be over. They have been

(01:55:22):
moving in the opposite direction. Yeah, these last few months.
I didn't realize how the Red Sox have just embarrassed
them this year, like eight and one heads up. But yeah, no,
it's it's all about that September October baseball. And you know,
look at the Brewers and the Tigers, like, wow, these
teams come out of nowhere. So but but I do
love I do love baseball. I grew up with it.

(01:55:44):
But it just maybe because the college started up. I'm
just looking at college things more. But of course playoff
baseball I get excited for. So we'll be talking about
that here in the next couple of months.

Speaker 3 (01:55:55):
You know, it's interesting just looking at the bet MGM odds.
So the Yankee as bad as it's been, they're fifth
in line to win the American League and also they're
fifth in line to win the World Series. Fifth, they're
only four teams ahead of them odds to win the
World Series. As bad as it's been, someone explained this
to me, the odds to win AL the Mariners are

(01:56:18):
higher than the Yankees. The odds to win the World
Series the Yankees are higher than the Mariners.

Speaker 2 (01:56:24):
Makes no sense to me.

Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
What Okay, But the point is, as bad as it's been,
it's not like they're barely on the page as far
as odds to win the AL or the World Series.

Speaker 2 (01:56:35):
So it's kind of interesting where.

Speaker 4 (01:56:37):
People love betting those futures. They love betting Yankees no
matter why. So they you know, they just think they're
going to make a big run and it doesn't matter.
There's so much of it in the MGM risk department.
They probably have so much money on these kids. They
don't have a lot on certain teams and they have
like like maybe even Seattle, but they have a ton
on the Yankees. And their risk is the bigger teams,

(01:57:00):
the Yankees and Phillies and of course the Dodgers. They
want one of the outsiders to what I'm sure, Hey.

Speaker 3 (01:57:06):
That's Bill Krakenberger, professional sports handicapper Jeff Schwartz with US
eight year NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:57:11):
Veteran I'm Brian.

Speaker 3 (01:57:12):

Rapid fire.

Speaker 2 (01:58:49):
All right, crack, we start with you with something you like.

Speaker 4 (01:58:53):
Hey, guys, I got some football for you. Is for
next week. So let's look to college football. Let's look
to game one fifty six Miami, Ohio Wisconsin. Under the
total right now at MGM, I believe it's thirty nine
and a half. Yep, thirty nine and a half. Let's
start with that one, Miami, Ohio Wisconsin. That's Thursday, August

(01:59:14):
twenty eighth.

Speaker 1 (01:59:15):
As a low totalis consint has to do a lot
of offense. There. I got two culture ballgames while you're
thinking that way. Nebraska minus six and a half against
Incinnati on Thursday. It's one of those numbers, Brian, where
are like very low? Am I on the wrong side.
It's in Arrowhead, so it's not a home game for
the Sinnati. I think the brask is much better. Another
one I have is Georgia Tech minus four against Colorado.

(01:59:37):
That's at Colorado, I think Georgiax's gonna run the ball
right down there throughout the entire game. I like Georgia
Tech in that game. So those are two I got
for early cultural action for next week.

Speaker 4 (01:59:48):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (01:59:49):
Look at you, guys, to look ahead lines there nice.

Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
I'm gonna go baseball today. I like the Padres at
home there minus one fifteen. It's a good pitching matchup.

Speaker 2 (01:59:58):
Yum.

Speaker 3 (01:59:59):
A moto against Vetta under eight might be a solid
play as well. I think it's gonna be a low
scoring game, but Nick Covetta's quietly had a very good season,
good record, low era. I like the way the Padre
has been playing later lately compared to the Dodgers.

Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
I'll roll with the pods. Give me the daddies. All right,
we got cracks play the day.

Speaker 4 (02:00:18):
Let's do this, Okay, I got sorry, guys, I was
waiting for the music. All right, I make my own music.
All right, there we go. Ok. Game one sixty eight
Colorado Georgia Tech on Friday under the fifty four and
a half minus five under Colorado Georgia Tech.

Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
Very nice. Everybody enjoyed the day.
