Speaker 4 (00:42):
What's going on here? I could make an adjustment to
the rundown on the fly. Just three hours nothing but.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Fighting Irish never heard of.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Them, insight opinions.

Speaker 5 (00:51):
You know.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
The first hour can be all Jeremiah Love.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
I don't know.

On the show.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
They put back on the pounds.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Yeah. The good morning guys. How you doing everything good?
We're drinking more protein over there, Jared.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (01:12):

Speaker 1 (01:12):
I'm in my coffee mode now. It's an early one
for me. Usually I'm not up this early with you guys.
Very excited to be here today, Very nice.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Crack, everything good with you.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yep, yep, yep.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
Looking at a Notre Dame in Miami today, Like you said,
very surprised. I'm gonna surprise you guys today. Able to
play on that game, which usually I don't have a side.
I did better side in that game and at a
decent weekend. Okay, and yesterday a couple of these totals

(01:42):
I needed to go under that that went over last minute,
Like I just woke up now to seeing that I
lost by three points on the u c.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
L A total head under fifteen.

Speaker 6 (01:51):
Oh that was a rough one last night, fifty three,
but a couple of I had Clemson under it. I
had some other games on there was it was eked
out a win first weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Happy about that? How about you, guys?

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Man barey hit that Clemson under huh just barely got home. Yeah, man,
that was a low scoring game. Uh yeah, it's the
way it goes sometimes. But yeah, not as successful for
me over here, Crack. You know, a couple of bad beats,
a couple of annoying beats, but you know what, we'll rally.

(02:23):
We don't let it get us down. You know, I
think that's how sports gambling wins. You let it get
you down.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
So, Jared, how'd you? How was your weekend?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, the picks from the show yesterday went on three,
But other than that, it was actually a good weekend.
It was one of those weekends when you know all
the pitch you give out publicly lose and you actually
have a pretty decent weekend. Elsewhere, the Penn State game
at the end was brutal. Letting that letting the Nevada
it was like the karma moment for James Franklin. They
take the lead there in front of the number, and

(02:53):
then they let Nevada march down the field in the
final minute and and and scored the touchdown there. How
about Dampier, the Utah quarterback last night? I mean that
to me was like the perfect juxtaposition of what college
football is. Nico asks for four million dollars and then
obviously doesn't get it, leaves, goes to UCLA, and then

(03:16):
his first game since asking for four million to play
college football, he gets badly outplayed like just pants deep
pants by Devin Dampier, who.

Speaker 5 (03:25):
To his credit, it's very good quarterback.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
You know he's getting I think a couple mil from Utah,
but just that was a very one sided game. And UCLA, man,
I don't know. I mean, I think Nico is just
a complete disaster.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Well, we got to dive into the waters of Arch Manning,
biggest name in college football, number one recruit, rough performance
at the shoe against Ohio State as Texas just lays
a complete egg. They score seven points all after noon long.
They lose fourteen to seven. It's one of those games
where immediately you're like, I should be on the total

(04:03):
not a side. You know, Total was and I liked
both the under and I did like Texas in that game.
And man, if you were on Texas, what an annoying game,
the opportunities that they had. First thing that stands out is,
you know, going, I don't know why Sark thinks he's
Jalen Hurts back there doing the toys. Yeah, man, that

(04:24):
was rough. So you come up empty on the one
yard line, fourth and goal, and then at the very
end of the game, last possession, it's third down. Arch
has a wide open wide receiver. Ball's not even close
to him, well behind him, barely got a hand on it.
It's like, what's going on here? Arch was completely out
of sorts, inaccurate, just a bad afternoon. You got to

(04:46):
give a lot of credit to the defensive coordinator. Matt
Patricia and Jared we talked about this yesterday where I
said he's like the nickelback of football coaches. Right, everybody
loved the bash. Matt Patricia was, Oh, this guy feel
like we're back in grade school where people are like, ew,
Matt Patricia's got cooties. You know, that's how it is.
And it's like, look, he's back to being a defensive coordinator.

(05:07):
He was a bad head coach with the Lions. He
was a bad offensive play caller with the Patriots. I
still don't know how that happened. He's never been a
bad defensive coordinator. So I thought he had an afternoon.
Arch helped him look a little bit better. But man,
what a disappointing afternoon for Arch.

Speaker 6 (05:25):
Yeah, guys, I'm looking at him. Looked at it at
a clip here. I didn't know if this was real
or not, but I just was looking forward again. Someone
sent me a clip of down the Tunnel. He was
screaming and yelling. I just thought it was Ai or something.
Did you guys see that at all. No, at the
end of the game screaming, he was so mad Manning,

(05:47):
he was like, you know, yelling and yelling at and
I thought it was like someone joking around. But I
do see it again, I just didn't. It's hard that
that has to be fake, right, I mean, he can't
be yelling and screaming after the game going down the tunnel.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
But who knows.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
This is the second time I'm looking for and I'm
the second time I found it. Yeah, this wasn't the most
exciting game to watch too. Both offenses struggled for most
of the game. Like, let's just face it, Manning went
from like a Heisman favorite to should he play backup?
I mean in just twenty four hours listen. I think

(06:21):
this was really tough spot for many though too. It's
his third career start and to have to come into
Ohio State to start the season, it's really a tough spot.
Ohio State look like they have one of the best
defenses in the country again, and they just confuse Manning
in Texas with their pressures and coverages. I still think
this is this Texas team has what it takes to

(06:43):
make the playoffs. Here now let's not just count of
macas one game. And while I'm not sure Manning is
going to be this great pro like both of his uncles,
I think he'll improve and I think he'll actually have
a better season maybe because of this.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
So what do you think, You're yeah, I agree, and
you don't want to overlook one game obviously, you know what.
I think that's the hardest thing that we do in
this space is we get so fired up and riled
up because we you know, we put our money and
our reputations on the line every week when we're giving
our opinions, and then we want to get high and
get low and react.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
But he just looked like the moment was too big
for him.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Like first throw of the game, first play of the game,
he skips the throw like it's cricket, Like, you know,
that was just the guy was wide open. He's got
this little half roll out and he I mean that
ball was like, you know, it's like a fifty eight
foot in baseball when you spike the curveball. It just
had no shot. I thought the Ohio State linebackers were exceptional.
Rvel reason the middle is a fricking monster and Sonny

(07:40):
styles was all over the field. So Ohio State's defense,
we know they're good. We just didn't know how good
they were going to be because they were very new upfront.
But I thought Patricia called a really good game. And
to be fair to Texas, like first drive of the game,
you're in Ohio State territory, fourth and two at the
forty three, you run for a yard turnover on downs.

(08:02):
Then later in the game, obviously you had the touch
push that didn't go well. You had another drive that
got all the way down into Ohio State territory later
that stalled out. They had three drives that cross midfield
that scored zero points. They lost by a score. So
I'm not gonna upgrade Ohio State like, oh they played
this great game and they need to be this elite team.
I think they were Texas on this day because I

(08:25):
think if they played this game on a neutral field
later in the year, when Arch has a little more gumption,
Texas probably wins because Ohio State did not have a
good offensive day, I thought, saying look comfortable, I thought
Jeremiah Smith actually looked a little bit shaky. A couple drops,
a couple of frustrating moments for him, I thought the
run game for Ohio State did not look good. I
think their offensive line is going to have some trouble

(08:46):
blocking some of the better defensive lines in college football
this year. But overall, they got the win and now
they can kind of take a deep breath and relax
because the rest of their schedule for the next month
or so isn't that daunting, And now Julian Sang can
kind of settle in. And same thing for Texas, Like
I think Texas is gonna I think they played like
Shanos Ice State next week or someone easy, Like they're

(09:07):
going to settle in and you're gonna see a much
better arch manning I think over the next month.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, they talked about it last night during the LSU
Clemson game where it was Chris Fowler and Kirk Kerbstreet.
Where right now, in college football, a lot of times
the defenses are ahead of the offenses. Where I'm glad
you mentioned Jeremiah Smith dropping a couple of passes right like,
this is Jeremiah Smith who's NFL ready right now, and

(09:32):
he's changing his gloves right like he didn't look like himself.
And a lot of that is the defenses are ahead
of the offenses. Where we talk about the dwindling preseason
games in the NFL and how a lot of teams
don't play their starters a lot of reps, right, they
don't get a lot of series, a lot of reps
out there, a lot of plays college there is no

(09:55):
preseason right. So it showed a lot of times yesterday.
Do I expect, you know, LSU or Clemson's offenses to
look the way they did going forward as they did
last night? No, I expect them to look a lot better.
Same thing with Texas and Ohio State offensively. But yeah,
I guess that's the question, is what's the most sensible
take about arch Manning. It's like the Heisman talk was premature,

(10:21):
But I don't think that he's reduced to this completely overhyped, overrated,
no substance all, you know, all just talk and no
follow through. I don't think that's where we're at with
arch Manning. I think he's very talented. I think that
I'll put it this way, if we were back in
the days of the BCS and it was just two teams, Yeah,
in the championship game, man the venom you heard directed

(10:44):
at arch Manning, that would be amplified a lot, and
you said it crag. They still have a really good
shot to be one of those playoff teams when it's
all said and done. So if that's the case, I
think that puts things in more perspective, like we probably
probably shouldn't sell every share of arch Manning stock right now.

Speaker 6 (11:03):
Where were you yesterday, Brian and both both of you
guys Jared, were you guys out on all in the
casinos the last two days, I'll say Friday or Saturdays.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
No, I'm in. I was in my man cave for
like twenty four hours straight. Yesterday. I barely left the apartment.
I walked the dog twice and that was the only
time I left. I saw something like yesterday.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Yeah, I was out. I was. I was at the
place for most of the day. But my girl has
friends who were in town and they had to leave
a day early. So they're like, hey, if you want
to stay at the Venetian, you can just so we
went to the Venetian and hung out there and just
stayed the night. So I just came back to the
place in the morning.

Speaker 6 (11:40):
This is kind of why I asked you. I asked
you for a reason. So Brian, did you did you really?
I mean, listen, of course it's the holiday weekend. But
you know, I've been getting some of the numbers, and
like you know, everyone's saying how bad Vegas is doing that?
And now I seen some of the gambling numbers and
oh boy, the numbers are actually even I'm gonna even
go on a limon say, way up.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Wow last month.

Speaker 6 (12:03):
So everyone's funny, a lot of the influencers saying, oh
my god, Vegas has done.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Vegas has done.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
Like, like I've said before in this space, the number,
the forecasted numbers were absolutely crushed the last five years
for what they forecasted every year. So sooner or later
it's got to come down. But no, again, it did
not come down. Maybe the yes, the foot traffic is down,
but however the gambling numbers are way up for the
Strip and downtown. And now I was out the last

(12:32):
couple of days in the casinos and I cannot.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Believe how packed. Oh yeah, I mean it was.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
I was at what's the Old money Carlo there, it's
at Park MGM. So I was at the Park MGM,
and I went to Italy, which I really like. It's
it's actually very good before I named the price, which
I tweeted out, there's a there's a pizza place there.
It's like a Roman pizza place. So uh, it's these big,

(12:59):
bigger It's a bigger slice, maybe one and a half
one and a quarter one and a half the size
of a regular Sicilian slice, but very good with like
Barata cheese on it. And now listen, now here comes
the price, I said, listen or lessen.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
I'm gonna put the both together. I don't think I
even me. I don't think I would actually pay if
I had to pay cash, or if I had to
pay for him. My friend had one thousand dollars copy
had to use in four days. So we went to
the pizza place and I just said I wasn't even
looking at the prices, like I'll give me two slices
and give me a bottle of a small bottle of water.

(13:32):
Four slices, two bottles of water, one hundred.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
And five dollars.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (13:36):
So but however, it was great, if that makes any sense,
like a Barada cheese on. But however, my original subject
matter is if that park MGM was so packed Friday
and Saturday and it's a representation of what this weekend
is like, and even today because it's a holiday, so
now tomorrow people are off for the most part. But

(13:58):
I didn't know if you guys realized how busy it
was out there. Oh yeah, yep, there's gonna be no
collection bucket out there for the casinos. That's righttime soon.

Speaker 4 (14:06):
Next week packed absolutely packed, you know, like you know
the table games. Every casino game in there was packed,
a lot of energy. Uh, there was one. It's kind
of cool. I'm sure you've seen this crack Crack where
it's a it's like a craps table. That's an actual
table where there's someone who goes there and shoots the
dice right and then everybody's on an electronic machine around it.

(14:31):
They call it stadium craps. But they had one of
the dealers there. He was amazing. Man, he was like
putting on a show for everyone. He was cracking jokes.
Everybody loved this guy. And it was fun.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Man.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
There was a lot of you know, excitement around you.

Speaker 6 (14:45):
You need interaction. That's gone. That's gone. It's funny you're
saying it was a good experience. Well, right next door
at the Palazo on if you made it over there
at all. They have a four uh four zero Rolette
game and quite zero rouletta on tweet out and it
was closed down the time I was there.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
That was like six seats or eight seats. They were
actually closed.

Speaker 6 (15:09):
For some maintenance at the time, but I made the
comment that the maintenance was clearing the last dead body
that had a Harnt.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Four zeros.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
That's insane, man, that's just.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Double digit house edge. Mightey better off playing Keno.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
That's terrible, that's brutal right there. Well, hey, we've got
Bill Krackenberger, professional sports handicapper Jared Smith in with us today.

of laying another egg yesterday, that would be your Alabama
Crimson time. Goodness, good Lord, Man, that was a disappointment
against Florida State, right Like Florida State was two and

(18:15):
ten last year, and I know it's a revolving door
in college football.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
I get it.

Speaker 4 (18:21):
But to lose that way to a two and ten
team one year removed, and the way Alabama looked, wow,
as bad as Texas looked, Alabama is way more disappointing, man,
because think about this, Gus Melson, I love this, you know,
calling the plays. Offensive play caller over there at Florida
State right now, And he tweeted out after the game

(18:43):
felt like old times tonight with the shish kebab emoji.
Very nice touched by Gus Melson. But man, Alabama, the offense,
the way it looked just sloppy all day, Florida State's
running game like Alabama got bullied by Florida State yesterday
on the road. So in my book, they're way more

(19:05):
disappointing than Texas was. Because you think about Kaylin de
boor last year. Maybe you said, Okay, it's year one.
You know, lost a couple of games. We're not accustomed
to that. But give him a chance, let him get
his recruits in there. Let's give it a little bit
of time and then boom, Game one against Florida State.
You get smacked around like that. I think that's way

(19:26):
more disappointing than Texas, who goes on the road facing
the defending national champs and you lose in the shoe
against Ohio State. It's not the biggest sin in the world.
But for Alabama to lose to an unranked two win
team from last year that I think that's way more disappointing.
You guys, where do you come out on that?

Speaker 6 (19:46):
Yeah, guys, that was as a huge win for Norville
and FSU yesterday And I was just seeing what the
closing line was yet, because I seen it was fourteen
let's say close from thirteen and a half here, that's
a It really is a a real big upset yesterday. Listen,
after their terrible season last year, like you said, they

(20:08):
really needed to start this season off with a different tone,
and it looks like they did. I mean, Alabama fans
are already freaking out though. Wow, can for the coaches
head after Game one much bigger disappointment for them. I'm
not sure what direction net program is really headed, so
but yeah, the fans, Wow, I actually do like to

(20:29):
watch some kind of some things like that, like the
first day they're asking for the coach to resign.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Oh boy again again big big win for Mike Norville
and FSU.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeah, Noles were dominant right one yards for play six
point three to four point nine, six explosive runs. I
mean that's the part that surprised me because coming into
the season, everything to me said Bama's defense is legit.
Will Max got this fun scheme. They got guys all
over the field. Their athletes were neutralized yesterday by Alson's scheme.

(21:01):
And Abama has struggled in the past with mobile quarterbacks.
But I like this Thomas Castiano's and I love him.
He's he's a tough kid. He kind of reminds me
of the of the Vandy quarterback, you know, just you know,
a little bit undersize, but plays kind of above his
weight class. And I was shocked at just how elusive
he was yesterday. And it was raining, and you know,

(21:24):
it didn't start well on offense, so maybe you know,
some some bad field position spots, and just in general,
it just felt like the momentum like he was it
was like trying to catch a grease pig yesterday, cast
I mean, he was just slipping, sliding through everyone.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
It was really impressive.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
I thought Florida State's defense played way better than what
their numbers indicate. And that's where I think the regression
will come. Where if we move, if we upgrade Florida
State considerably because of this, I think that's where we
might get some value on the other side of the
knolls down the stretch. But I was shocked, like cast
the eye, like he wasn't great yesterday. He only only

(21:59):
had twenty seven percent success rate on passing plays, but
fifty three percent success rate on running plays. I thought
Ty Simpson for Bama looked very pedestrian. That is a
concern because coming into the season Florida State was very
thin at corner. You thought Ryan Williams and that receiving
group was going to have some success. I think he
suffered a concussion yesterday, So that's something to keep an
eye on going forward.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
How about this, Bama.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Now has lost three straight games straight up when favored
by thirteen points or more. That just cannot happen in Tuscalusa.

Speaker 5 (22:30):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:31):
And Castellanos, he said that in the offseason. His quote was,
they don't have Nick Saban to save them. Wow, and
that caught Alabama's attention. There was some words like all right, yeah,
he's gonna pay for those verbal transgressions right basically right,
like okay, we'll see him on the field. And then
he backed it up. He played well at he's running
the football played well. And that's the shocking thing to me.

(22:54):
Alabama's offensive line is really good. Yeah, and they did
not run the ball well all. They didn't find their
you know, their rhythm or find any great success running
the football. So like FSU ran it great, Alabama didn't.
So to see FSU really just push Alabama around, I'm

(23:15):
not used to seeing Alabama get pushed around, but they
did get pushed around yesterday. And that's the thing, man,
is when you are used to the penthouse of Nick
Saban's success and now you're the new guy going in
there and you're losing games way more often than they're
accustomed to. Yeah, there's a reason crack. They're like hitting

(23:37):
up the message boards like get this guy out of here.
I can venmo you whatever I have in my account.
Get this guy out of town. Man, that's a rough gig,
but you got to produce. It's way more I'll put
it this way, way more important for Kaylin de Boor
to win games than it is for Brian Kelly at
LSU to win games, right, same conference, high expectations for

(23:58):
Brian Kelly, but Kaylin de bor is replacing a legendary
head coach and Nick Saban, so you can't be losing
games left and right and losing the opener to FSU.
But hey, here we are, man, that's exactly where we
are right now.

Speaker 6 (24:12):
Big money maker. By the way, guys, this was a
big money maker for this town. I only spoke to
one book maker late last night, but from from in
town here, this game made them a lot of money
because everyone you know throws Alabama in their ath Throw
that in the parlay. That's an easy winner, and it
enhances my parlay by a couple bucks. But that's a

(24:35):
that's a winner. And yeah, when whenever a fourteen point
favorite goes down, usually especially a marquee team, this is always.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Good for the sports book.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
So listen, let's let them win a little bit of
money now, because I have to be able to take
my little money out of there without them knowing.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
So.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
But games like this does help the sports books because again,
no matter what what I preach, no matter what I say. Uh,
the best example is the guy that's off of air,
Jeff Parlay Schwartz.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
Yeah it doesn't matter, No, it's not. But I just
gave it to him.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
And to be honest with you, for years, for two
years straight, I did not know Jeff ever played parlays.
I think he said it by accident. And uh, you
know I I waved the white towel a little bit.
And listen here, because everyone, no matter what I say
on social media, on all different shows, people are still
going to play parlays because they they're they're the guys
that go to the crap table and you know they

(25:36):
they bet those bets in the middle of the hard, hardways.

Speaker 4 (25:39):
And there's another bet.

Speaker 6 (25:41):
You can make that I don't know what it's. I
don't know what it's called. Even that every number on
the table would.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
Be all tallmall love you all too.

Speaker 6 (25:48):
Okay, So so I get it. People want to do that. Okay,
do it for a dollar or something. So I say, listen,
if you if you're gonna bet, if your average bets
one hundred dollars on a game, you know, bet you
want to bet five dollars on a parlor are even
maybe seven to ten dollars. You're gonna bet it anyway,
Just keep it to less than ten percent of what
you do want a game anyway, because that's the death

(26:10):
of most people is parlays. And that's exactly what I
mean by this Alabama game yesterday. It's the reason why
the sportsbooks make so much money. People love moneyline parlays
on big favorites like Alabama. Just throw that in there
that that can't lose. And this is the results. The
results is the book makers get the money.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
Again.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
I did see some results from the public. You know,
we always talk about fade the public. Right Here are
the Here are the top five public sides yesterday at
bet MGM.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
One of them hasn't played yet. One of them's Notre Dame.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Sorry Brian, you could feel that one coming.

Speaker 1 (26:49):
Yeah, one going. Here are the other four Texas plus one,
Bama minus fourteen, Clemson minus four, Indiana minus twenty four.
Good day for the books yesterday.

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Means the Irish have to rally tonight, you know. I hey, yeah,
it's all on Notre Dame.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Save the public's weekend. But that you know, and crack
that's to me, the fascinating dynamics with the market right public.
And usually we'll have an NFL Sunday to kind of
make up. It's not typically college college back to back.
But this weekend it's disaster public Day Saturday, Notre Dame
Public Sunday. Do you see the public saying, man, we

(27:27):
got to get our back on Notre Dame. And you
see that line continue to push up, push up, push up.
Now we're seeing three. I mean, I don't think we'll
get to a three and a half. But these are
the types of public dynamics. When you get your clock
cleaned on a Saturday and Notre Dame is still hanging
out there. On a Sunday, you might see a little
more movement. You might see a little more action towards
the Irish tonight.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Interesting. Yeah, well, speaking of movement, we're gonna move toward
Isaac Lohenkron right now. That never goes wrong. Absolutely is
with this this morning. Very pleased to hear the dulcet
tones of what and I low, what's going on? Buddy?

Speaker 8 (28:01):
Well, thank you, I got a little more dulcet just
after you said that. It pricked me right up. We
actually begin with a Jeff Schwartz update. As you guys know,
he was present in Eugene for yesterday's win over Montana State,
and he had this update previously on social media. He
and his family lunching at the Olive Garden and he

(28:22):
posts quote, twenty minutes into the meal, my son goes,
you know they sell those cheese graters. Me, okay, sure,
bud Son, I'll make this bet with you. If I
ask and they sell them, you have to buy one
me bet. Anyways, his son is heading home today with
a brand new Olive Garden cheese grater.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Never I was gonna say, I think that's a sign
to just lay off the sports bets for the weekend.
You know, if you lose out of the gate at
the Yolo, you know, maybe, yeah, the Bama bet was doomed.
That's sort of that's a sign right there. At that's
a great point.

Speaker 8 (28:59):
That's very insightful from a psychological standpoint. I was thinking
to myself all these years, I never knew they sold
the cheese graters. But that's a good point food for thought,
perhaps literally, for the Schwartz household. In college football, On
Saturday Night, elsewhere, number nine LSU won at fourth ranked
Clemson seventeen to ten, LSU outscoring Clemson fourteen to nothing

(29:21):
on the second half is Clemson missed a field goal,
was intercepted, and was stopped on downs twice, including at
the LSU fifteen with fifty nine seconds remaining. Number eleven
Arizonta State beating Northern Arizona thirty eight to nineteen. Arizona
State quarterback Sam Levit two touchdown passes two touchdown runs.
Sun Devil receiver Jordan Tyson twelve catches for one forty

(29:42):
one with two touchdowns. Michigan running back Justice Haynes ran
for one fifty nine and three touchdowns as the fourteenth
ranked Wolverines beat New Mexico thirty four to seventeen. Number
seventeen Kansas State pulled out a thirty eight to thirty
five win over FCS North Dakota. Avery Johnson the game,
but a six yard touchdown pass to Joe Jackson with

(30:02):
forty two seconds to play, capping an eighty one yard
sixty three second drive. Number nineteen Texas A and M
got four touchdown passes from quarterback Marcel Reid in a
forty two to twenty four win over Texas San Antonio.
Also on Saturday night, Utah what at UCLA forty three
to ten. Ucla quarterback Nico Eamalayava eleven out of twenty

(30:23):
two for one thirty six, one touchdown, pass, one interception.
Washington over Colorado State thirty eight to twenty one. Husky
running back Jonah Colin ran for one seventy seven and
two touchdowns. And in Major League Baseball on Saturday night,
Elias Diaz two home runs of the Padres twelve to
three win at Minnesota coupled with the Arizona Diamondbacks beating

(30:45):
the Dodgers four to one. That means the Padres trailed
the Dodgers by one game. In the National League West, Guys,
back to you.

what takes you like, what takes you don't like all
that good stuff. Just search Fox Sports Radio on YouTube
and subscribe something that Ilo mentioned outside of Schwartz getting
taken by his son for a chief greater right there?

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Just great?

Speaker 4 (31:25):
How about LSU exorcizing the Demons, finally winning a game
to start their season. They were zero to five the
last five years. Last time that LSU won a season opener.
Burrow was the quarterback. How about that? Until last night
and they finally won a game against Clemson. Nice win
for them, defense only giving up ten points. They played

(31:45):
great all night long. Really impressed with LSU's defense and
crack the betting stuff over here. It was such a
low scoring first half. I was on a third quarter
over how about this over ten and a half points?
So there was a touchdown scored, both teams missed a
field goal that would have got us there.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
Oh man.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
And then there was a completion to the one yard line.
They were reviewing it and Herb Street and Follower are like,
that looks like a touchdown. That's six points right there.
I'm like, all right, we win, We're good. And they
reversed it was an incomplete pass, which it totally was.
I don't know, by the way, sub Brant Bill Lemonnier,
who's in the booth he's the worst.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
He is.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
He is clueless, He has no he's a former official,
has no idea what's going on there? Like he's talking
about the guy caught it and he's making a football move.
I didn't know a football move. Was falling straight to
the ground, like you have to ball. What is he
talking about? That was incomplete all day It screwed up
my bet. That's an incomplete pass all day long. I

(32:50):
don't know what that man is talking about.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (32:53):
Wow, Yeah, this was a good, gritty win for LSU. Yeah,
winning a Clemson This is one of the toughest plays
just to win as a visiting team. So I think,
you know, I think I read something like there were
like twenty four and two at home in the past
five seasons or so. So I think this LSU team
is definitely playing at a good caliber, but they have

(33:18):
a deadly They have a deadly schedule this season. You know,
someone sent me that about a week ago, and looking
at it, Wow, facing six more top twenty five teams
as it sits right now, if they can get through
the gauntlet of the SEC with less than three losses,
which will be tough, then I think they can get
into the playoffs. So yeah, good gritty game.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
I like this LSU defense a lot, guys. I think
that's the biggest adjustment that I made yesterday. To my
I don't have any ratings on these teams, but in
my mind, I upgraded LSU's defense significantly. I think the
defensive line, and we talked about this on the show yesterday,
Brian specifically, this defensive line has due and Blake. Baker's

(34:01):
kind of like a mad wizard, Like he's kind of
like a magician the way that he schemes up these
weird exotics, Like he'll have one defensive lineman with his
hand in the dirt, everyone else will be standing up.
They'll give you the double Mike Blitz, like right up
the eight gen Like they'll go in all these kind
of weird format kind of like Brian Flores sort of
is the way I would describe it in NFL terms.

(34:22):
They are just very aggressive and very unique with what
they do with their schemes, and now they have guys
that can actually Like it's one thing when you're really
interesting with your with your formations and your schemes, but
your players aren't good enough to really carry the torch.
Now he has dudes up front who can get after
the passer. You'll clumpson a four and a half yards

(34:42):
per play at home, right, You're not dealing with any
of the road environment, any of that stuff. Kay club
Nick very experienced quarterback, three receivers back, and they could
not move the football last night. So really impressive stuff.
I think for that LSU defensive line, I think that
is going to be the story in the SEC this year.
There are a lot of just lockdown defenses. I think

(35:03):
in the conference. I think Georgia has one. I think
LSU has one. We thought Bama had one. I'm not
so sure anymore. But this LSU team, I mean they
got some really tough as as Crack mentioned, they got
some tough games. They'll play Florida in a couple of weeks,
They'll go to Ole Miss and Oxford. They play South
Carolina at home, A and M at Bama, which might
not be looking as tough now as it was a

(35:23):
week ago, and then they finish at Oklahoma. I think
nine to three gets them into the playoff for sure.
Ten and two might have him in the SEC championship game.

Speaker 4 (35:34):
Interesting a huge win for Brian Kelly had to have
it right, finally got a big, big win, and it
gets the critics off his back at least for one weekend.
You know, you can stretch out and enjoy Labor Day
with the critics taking a hike for at least a weekend.
I'll say this real fast. It's funny how things in

(35:54):
football seem like a gigantic deal and then don't even
end up mattering at all. Right before halftime, I thought
it was a hideous decision by LSU. They're down ten
to three, there are fifteen seconds left, They've got fourth
and two at the twelve yard line. They went for it.
They didn't get it, they had no points. You kick

(36:14):
it there, I think all day long, and I thought
it was a sign like this team they can't win
an opener, they're pressing to a fault. All that type
of stuff didn't even end up mattering. My thought was,
even if you pick up the first down, you got
one or two plays maybe to score a touchdown. There's
no guarantee even score a touchdown, so I wouldn't take
that risk. If the odds are not in my favorite
to still score a touchdown, I just take the points,

(36:36):
skip the field goal. But in the end, it didn't
even matter, and they come out smelling like a road.
Shout out to the defense. LSU played really good, really
good defense last night. All right, we've got Bill Krackenberger,
professional sports handicapper Jared Smith with us this morning. FSR

Okay, we have one selection for you. We pull it
together for a greater payout. Crackmeister, we start with you.
What do you like today.

Speaker 6 (38:13):
Let's get this out of the way early because I
don't have to hear nothing about it later. Brian, I apologize.
Miami plus three at MGM. Lots of sportsbooks have two
and a half, so I just want to let you
know Miami here plus three and MGM that's my portion
of the platter. And I was gonna save it for
later in the show, but let's pop it up there.

(38:35):
And I said early, let it bake around a little bit.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
So some behind the scenes work. I just dexted Brian
during the break. I said, I don't know how you
guys do it on the Sunday show or decided by
blah blah blah blah, I'm on Miami plus three, so
I'm not I'm not going to give that out. I will.
I will give it out later because I love this
play for Miami. The heat Wow Dity, I think is
gonna be a factor here tonight. And we've seen the

(38:59):
Northeast team, the Mountain West teams like Poyse going down
to Tampa and really struggle. And that offensive line from
Miami's really good. So you might hear more about them
a little bit later in the show. How about this,
we will. I will switch things around on the fly
really quick. I will give you a prop that I
like that I was going to give out. Prop it up,
and I'll figure out some other prop that I like

(39:20):
and prop it up. Kien Drones anytime touchdown today for
Virginia Tech. I know most of the hype is on
the other quarterback for South Carolina, and he's very much
deserving of the height Lenora sellers, But Kien Drones is
a rock star and Virginia Tech does not have a
lot of returning firepower on their front. They lost both
their top running backs, they lost both their top receivers, the.

Speaker 5 (39:42):
Offensive line's intriguing new offensive line coach.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
Matt Moore comes in from West Virginia. He brought a
bunch of starters with him, and West Virginia had a
really good running offense. In fact, More won the Broils
Award for the Top Assistant Coach back at twenty twenty three.

Speaker 5 (39:54):
Is a really good coach, and I think the run
game for Virginia Jech.

Speaker 1 (39:57):
They don't have a lot of weapons right It's pretty
much just drones and a lot of transfers. But I
do think that the running game is gonna be effective
tonight because South Carolina's defense is a little bit hippy
and we've seen the ACC have some success against the SEC.
We saw Florida State do it yesterday against Bama. I
would not be surprised if Virginia Tech keeps things a
little bit more snugger than usual against South Carolina tonight

(40:21):
and iron drones to score a touchdown is basically a
coin flip minus one oh five at bet MGM.

Speaker 5 (40:27):
He is the star a drone strike hopefully in this game.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Between Virginia Tech and South Carolina.

Speaker 4 (40:35):
Okay, Notre Dame Miami. I don't know if I'm just
like slow to the party here, but I actually like
the under in this game. I like under fifty and
a half. It's ticked up a little bit. My reasoning is,
you look at Notre Dame. Okay, let's start with CJ.
Carr his first college start. Okay, so they're gonna try

(40:56):
to run the ball effectively. They might have some success,
but like Miami is pretty good in the trenches on
both sides, and so I look at them their rush defense,
it's gonna have some resistance right there. I don't think
Jeremiah Love is gonna go crazy with a quarterback making
his first start. Right You're gonna see some heavy boxes
there from time to time. And it's not like they're

(41:17):
gonna run. They're gonna turn into a run and shoot team.
I just don't see Notre Dame just you know, high flying,
high point total and Notre Dame's defense is really good.
So I don't see Carson Beck with a bunch of
new weapons around him just putting up points too. I
actually like the under in this game. Payout are we looking.

Speaker 5 (41:37):
Out about six to one?

Speaker 2 (41:39):
About six to one? Not bad? Not bad on that?

Speaker 4 (41:41):
Carl alrighting, Oh what is going on? Happy Sunday to you.
We get you all fired up for more college games today.
I'll tell you what. Two of the three hosts on
this show today are backing the Miami Hurricanes.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
What is going on here?

Speaker 4 (41:59):
We got details on that right around the corner. Hey,
with the iHeartRadio app, you can stream us wherever you
happen to be. Catch us in all of our Fox
Sports Radio shows live twenty four to seven in the
new and improved iHeartRadio app. Just search Fox Sports Radio
in the app to stream us live all day, every day,
and be sure to select Fox Sports Radio is one
of your presets in the iHeart app, so it'll always

(42:22):
pop up at the top of your screen. Okay, I
need some I need some reasoning over here. You know
it's funny, right You'll hear this in sports gambling all
the time, where this is a system play, you know,
maybe it's an NBA total that's like ungodly high. Is
a system play system under right here? I swear crack.

(42:43):
I think you have a system play in place, which
is just like fade my teams, you know, are the
Cardinals planet at fado are the Irish planet at fadom?
Is that true? You have a system play over here
fading my squads?

Speaker 6 (42:55):
No, No, there's no loyalty or if there's no m
in me at all when it comes to that, I
just bet who I bet, and uh, this situation all
the three points here. If they've seeing some of the
big dogs yesterday too, yeah, listen, and this should be
another good one to start the season.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
You know, in my day they actually called this one the.

Speaker 6 (43:16):
Catholics versus the Convicts one day.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 6 (43:19):
So Miami hoping that that the Georgia transfer Carson Beck
can take over right where cam Ward left off, and
Notre Dame has all the confidence in their first year
starter CJ.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Carr.

Speaker 6 (43:32):
They will need to control the game though on the
ground and not forced car into any uncomfortable situations if
they want to come out on top of this one.
And you know, guys, I don't think Jerry knowes this,
so Brian, you know this. I found the I found
good odds on on Notre Dame to win at all.
You know, two months ago, I think it was was
it twenty to one? I think it was twenty to one.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
And I bet that too.

Speaker 6 (43:55):
So it's each bet individually, is the way I go.
I'm not saying, oh, I can't bet Miami because I'm
rooting for Notre Dame to win it all. No, it's
just each bet hopefully Miami. You know, the ideal thing
for me would be like Notre Dame to win by
like one. That's why I have Notre Dame winning. I
have going for my season long bet and Miami covering

(44:19):
the game. You know, honestly, this is this is a
game that may get more viewership than any game because
there's only a few games on today. I think this
will this will be a pretty pumped up game. This
is one of the ones that I'm actually watching. I
only got to watch a game or two some clips
yesterday I was out and about. But yeah, this one

(44:41):
I'm looking forward to. I'm sure you guys are both
going to be watching this one today, correct.

Speaker 5 (44:45):
Yeah, I'll be locked in.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
And again you get the weird the split times today,
which is nice, right, You get two games both both
get their own little slot. You get the new Pacific
start with Tech in South Carolina, which should be really honestly,
it's a pretty good appetizer, especially with South Carolina got
a heisman, Canada Lenora sellers. But then obviously the main
event in the evening time Notre Dame in Florida gets

(45:07):
its own standalone spot.

Speaker 5 (45:09):
I think.

Speaker 1 (45:11):
You're gonna see some factor play in with the weather
and the stadium. Like I don't think anytime you get
a North team going south in the humidity of Miami,
there will be no impact.

Speaker 5 (45:22):
Now, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (45:23):
How much of an impact. I think in the case
of Boise going down to USF, it was more of
an impact for Boise, and you really saw their lack
of physicality really wilt in the heat of Tampa. I
don't know if we'll get rain tonight. It's helpful. Frankly,
that game was I believe it was five o'clock Eastern.

(45:44):
This game will be seven thirty Eastern, so it'll be,
you know, a little bit later in the evening. The
sun should be fully down when kickoff happens, so it
won't be as toasty, but it is humid. You can't
escape the air even when the sun sets.

Speaker 5 (45:57):
That's why I love living in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (45:58):
Right it's hot in the summertime, but once the sun
goes down, it's very dry, so it's very pleasant, but
you can't escape the air in South Florida.

Speaker 5 (46:05):
Like the humidity.

Speaker 1 (46:06):
You're breathing it in and you're just you feel like
you're just covered in this layer of filth, and that
is what you playing in that mugginess will do. Down
in South Florida. I was down there for the Orange
Bowl about seven months ago, a lot of Notre Dame fans,
So I don't think this is gonna be a full
Miami crowd, so the home field advantage will be split.

(46:26):
But I do think the weather is gonna play a
factor at some point.

Speaker 2 (46:29):
Now.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
To be fair, Notre Dame is a very well disciplined,
well coach, well conditioned team. I don't think they're just
gonna fold over like a lawn chair. But this Miami
offensive line, we talked about it yesterday, Brian, I think
that as much as we want to talk about Carson
back and he's very good and I love the OC
Shanna Dlson, this Miami offensive line with Crystal Ball and
with Merratball, the coach of the old line, that is
where the bread and butter for this Miami team is.

(46:51):
So if there is a little bit of a drop
in fitness or conditioning in the second half, I think
that's where Miami's offensive line can probably grind this game out.

Speaker 5 (47:00):
And that's gonna be to me the most intriguing factor
of the night.

Speaker 4 (47:03):
Yeah, man, running game for both teams is a big key,
especially for Notre Dame. CJ. Car making his first college start.
So how effectively Notre Dame can run the ball. That's
a big, big deal. And I can't wait to find
out what they ask CJ. Car to do, you know,
because Miami knows Priority number one is slow Jeremiah Love down,

(47:26):
slow jadari In Price down, Slow that Notre Dame running
game down and make CJ. Carr hurt you, make him
hurt you, right, So Notre Dame anticipates that too. So
are they going to ask CJ. Carr, Hey, you're gonna
face some heavy boxes. They're gonna be loaded up to
stop the run. You're gonna have some opportunities in the
passing game, like we're not gonna go you know nineteen

(47:48):
seventies where we're throwing it eight times a game and
we're like biting our fingernails, like, oh my gosh, there
are many things that can go wrong throwing a forward pass.
You know, it's not gonna be that conservative. But how
does Notre Dame approach this thing with CJ.

Speaker 2 (48:03):
Carr?

Speaker 4 (48:04):
How much did they ask him to do right out
of the gate as well, right that first drive, first
two drives. There's gonna be some opportunities in the passing game,
and I just wonder how much they're gonna dip into that.
There was a close race with Kenny Minshi he was
the other quarterback, and Marcus Freeman, the head coach. He
just said, I had to trust my gut. You know,

(48:25):
the stats in spring practices were very, very similar, and
you say I had to trust his gut With CJ.
Carr first start, big stage, prime time.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
At the U.

Speaker 4 (48:38):
You know, I had this rant yesterday, crack, which how
do you not have a home campus with the Miami Hurricanes.
I still don't. It blows my mind. But anyway, it
will still be lively, you know, night game, Notre Dame
in town. It'll be lively over there. So great atmosphere
for CJ. Car to start his first game. But let
me make this one last point because I think what

(48:59):
we've turned in too, especially this year in college football,
there are a lot of inexperienced quarterbacks like CJ. Carr
first start, versus experienced quarterbacks like Carson Beck. And we've
got experience matters don't get me wrong, it matters. You know,
you learn on the job, you make some mistakes along
the way, you learn from it. Experience matters. But we've

(49:19):
gotten into this way of thinking where you've got the
experienced quarterback, Oh you've got a leg up. You might
have two legs up in this matchup, and that's not
always the case. Carson Beck was experienced yes last year
and he was bad all right. Just because you have
the more experienced quarterback doesn't mean that you automatically have
that box checked in that game in the matchup is

(49:41):
so I don't think we should look at it like that.
And I'm curious if Carson Beck can revert back to
his earlier form where a couple of years agoing look great,
last year not so great at all. So which Carson
Beck do we get tonight in this season?

Speaker 2 (49:55):
For the U?

Speaker 6 (49:56):
Hey, do you guys do you like having these big
marquee matches to start the season or would you rather
not see any of these top ten jet until they
get a little more seasons and they deserve their rankings.
What do you think or do you like to have
it first day here bang these big you know matchups?

Speaker 4 (50:12):
What do you guys think I like it right out
of the gate, Crack, But I hear your point, man.
You know, if you get a couple of games under
your belt, probably going to see a better quality matchup
more times than not. Yeah, so I hear what you're saying.
But hey, man, you throw Notre Dame Miami in front
of me first weekend, first real weekend with the week
zero soft launch, you know, I'm all for it. I'm

(50:33):
here for it, and we'll just see. I think that's
another interesting aspect is who can execute better with this
being the first game. You know that's a tough ask,
but yeah, I love that part of it too, So yeah,
I'm here for it. You, Jared, what do you like?

Speaker 1 (50:47):
What do you prefer? I think, betting wise, I like
the cupcakes early because it gives you a chance to
hop on some big dogs that are probably a little
bit better than you than the market thinks. Right. I
think the best miss price is and Crack. You can
correct me if I'm wrong, but usually the best miss
prices with college football early in the year is the
fight the underdog that nobody knew was good because they
had this you know, guy that transfers in and he's

(51:09):
a great coarse bot on if you're really paying attention. Yep,
you know, whereas the big boys versus the big Boys,
you know, it's kind of David, you know, Goliath vers Goliath,
Like both teams have really good players and it's just
about which team doesn't have TSS. Like yesterday, for example,
with Texas and Ohio State TSS tights fhincter syndrome. For
those Saturday listeners that didn't make it to the Sunday Show,

(51:31):
like Arch Manning had tights fhincter syndrome for most of
that game yesterday, whereas if that game, for example, was
played in week ten after Arch has had multiple starts
under his belt, or if that game was in the
playoff at the Cotton Bowl on a neutral site, Texas
wins that game yesterday, but it just you know, it
was nervy, it was angsty, and you're not getting a

(51:51):
true role. It's kind of like at the craps table,
right when someone steps up and they don't know how
to roll and they throw, you know, the dice over
hits the chips, hits the dealer and then you you know,
you seven out. Whereas you get the true role, maybe
you get a better result. So I think that's where
the early season cupcakes are a little more beneficial in
the betting standpoint, But obviously from a watch standpoint, we
really enjoy those top matchups.

Speaker 6 (52:13):
Yeah, doing this on the professional level for so many years,
being a pro sports better, My results are much better
first six weeks of college football than they are the
remaining six weeks or whatever it may be. So I
would say that, yes, to find those nuggets of wisdom

(52:34):
and nuggets of cash in your pocket, I would think
earlier in the season week zero, week one, week two,
week three, that is where the money needs to be made.
So now, granted, I've had seasons where you know, I,
you know, win all season long, but it just seems
like the percentages maybe like more towards fifty six percent
compared to fifty four and a half percent later in

(52:56):
the season.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
So yeah, away we go.

Speaker 4 (53:00):
It's gonna sound like you're at the precinct here crack,
you know, and you're facing questioning. You know, there's a
bright light on you, like where were you last night
at ten fifty one?

Speaker 1 (53:09):
But I don't mean it.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
It sounds like that. I'm just curious, And look, you
might be on the right side with Miami plus three.
You know it would be crazy at all, But what
went into that for you? Like, you could look at
many different aspects of it, but what sold you on
that being the right side in your mind?

Speaker 2 (53:23):
Let me go back to my odd screen. Guys. Here
one second, I have a live odd screen of everywhere
in the world. And that was the original.

Speaker 6 (53:30):
The original take was, hey, two and a half, We're
gonna pass on this game. But because of what I
seen yesterday too. Now, granted I already bet this game
a little bit when it was plus three minus so
five at bet MGM, by the way, plus three minus
so five up until yesterday, and I seen some two

(53:51):
and a half's here pop up, and the main sports
books that control the entire market, I should say, there was,
there was trees, and theres a syndicate group. Our buddy Fez,
who Jared and I are on the same text, he
he was already on Miami too. And then today the
Marquey books that control the entire world had two and

(54:11):
a half. And let me just be blunt, this is
really a bet that the best line in the world
right now as we speak is at bet MGM plus
three minus fifteen. I'm looking at some other books all
around the country and stuff, and yeah, there's the big
sports books that came into this country years ago. All
of these books are at two and a half. Yet,

(54:33):
like I said, this is a bet that bet MGM
is making me take for a second time. I already
had them and yep, there it is three points. Hopefully
hopefully the three doesn't matter. But like I said, my
ideal thing here would be Notre Dame winning by one
or two. This way I can get them, hopefully, get
them rolling for the season, and Brian is still gonna
be able to talk to me off air.

Speaker 5 (54:54):
And yeah, so away mine doesn't hold grudges.

Speaker 1 (54:58):
We've done these shows long by now. He doesn't hold grudges.
He just moves on with his life and we just
move on peacefully.

Speaker 4 (55:04):
Radio theater, you know, radio theater right here, you got
I get it, man, Sometimes you make a lot of
money fading my teams. I get it, right, Like that's
the way it goes. Last question for you, Crack, how often,
like in this spot, would you move it up to
three and a half? You know, like take the Canes
plus plus three and a half instead of the three.

Speaker 6 (55:25):
Well, the three is not as valuable as it was
years ago. First of all, I'll use the NFL because
of the two point conversion, because of analytics, because of
the extra point being back a little bit more. The
three isn't as valuable in the NFL, And as far
as college goes, the seven is probably it actually is.

(55:47):
There's no numbers behind it. Seven is more valuable than
the three.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
I don't think.

Speaker 6 (55:52):
Yeah, I wouldn't buy this game up to three and
a half. I don't think it's worth the extra even
if it was ten cents, which by the way, it's
not anymore. Back when I started, there was no penalty
or tax shipaid moving a line from three to three
and a half or seven to seven and a half.
Now you have that tax, and that tax is in
the form of extra juice. I am not going to

(56:13):
even move it, you know anyway, ten cents, never my
fifteen or twenty cents which the books charged. So yeah,
I'm kind of going to ignore the three in college
football again this season, and the threes are going to
be more of my focus in the NFL even Friday,
excuse me, Thursday, even even Friday night. Friday night, Kansas

(56:36):
City now it was that that game I gave out
early in the season. I gave out Kansas City when
it was minus like one twenty five money line. Now
I'm seeing all threes three solids. I actually seen plus
three and a half minus fifteen yesterday. Now, as you know,
I don't middle or scalp games unless I get off
of it because of weather, an injury, or I just

(56:59):
by accident bet too much. That's the only time you
want to get off a game, really, or a middle
or scalp of game. I'll tell you with three and
a half points, boy, that really looks the Kansas City
game plus three and a half minus fifteen Kansas City
Chargers that's playing played in San Paulo.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Brazil, Friday Friday night.

Speaker 6 (57:23):
I'm tempted, but I'm still I still have my original
side with Kansas City moneay line, which I give out
here like six seven weeks ago. But I am tempted, though,
just to let you know, so the three and a
half in NFL is much more tempting than college agreed.

Speaker 4 (57:38):
By the way, what were they doing back in the
day crack where they're like, oh, you went seven and
a half instead of seven. Sure, just take the half point.

Speaker 6 (57:48):
Nope, I had Friday shops that would do that, Brian,
they I had. I had three different Friday shops back
in the late nineties, early two thousands. All three of
them that I had had half point Friday. So you
can move any game for half a point, you know,
because they have your money. It's posted up and to

(58:10):
far off places. This is before legalization hit and passport
was repealed here in the States. So every Friday you
can move any line. But the key was there's no
penalty on the three, so it was going from three
to three and a half. It was free, no extra
juice plus three and a half minus one ten plus
seven and a half minus one ten.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
Needless to say.

Speaker 6 (58:33):
In the end, after me destroying one of the sports books,
needless to say, in the end, they went out of
business and screwed me and a lot of other people
for multi millions of dollars they take.

Speaker 2 (58:45):
But you know it was good. Why it lasted for years?

Speaker 4 (58:49):
Wow, great stuff, great stories. I love that stuff. But yeah,
that's wild. They tightened screws over the years, you know,
no more half point Fridays, no doing though. All right,
we got Bill Krachenberger Professional Sports handicapper Jared Smith with
US Today FSR betting analyst. I'm Brian No. Every time
you make a wager at BETMGM, you earn BETMGM rewards

(59:11):
points that can be redeemed for things like bonus bets
or converted to MGM rewards points that can be used
towards dining shows and hotel rooms at over twenty MGM resorts.
Coming up next has the biggest name yet to take
the field in week one. It is Fox Sports Radios
Countdown to Kickoff, presented by BETMGM. It is Fox Sports

(59:33):
Radios Countdown to Kickoff presented by Bett MGM, and it
is time for the Tyrack Blade of the Day.

Speaker 9 (59:39):
Second and four for the fourteen double Wings set with
Douglassy Pittman wing left wing, right saw chucked out motion
to the back of the backfield, two receivers right, Castellano, Scamp,
Sawnchuck Pickle, taud start to fee.

Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
What a call?

Speaker 4 (01:00:09):
Man, Seminoles Sports Network.

Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
On the call, very well, they won the Natty yesterday.

Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
Man sounded like.

Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
For over forty years, Tirek has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Shipped fast and free back by free road hazard protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, tirerack dot Com.
The way tire buying should be. It's crazy if you
just look at Florida State. I know, like when when
they play Alabama, most of our takeaways are gonna be

(01:00:38):
about Alabama. But if you look at Florida State just
for a second, think about two years ago, undefeated, they
get the shaft right, they don't make it to the
college football Playoff in favor of Alabama. Alabama made it
instead of Florida State. So you go, undefeated, don't make
the four team playoff. Then last year two and ten,

(01:01:01):
so you go from the penthouse to the outhouse. Do
you heard that call? The excitement the crowd in the background,
like they're back, babe, they're taking down Alabama. Wildest swings
in college football. But shout out Florida State. They're a
big win for them, huge win for them. Yesterday, bad
as that was for Bama. That's how great it was
for Florida State. So good stuff from them. Okay, I

(01:01:23):
mentioned has the biggest name yet to take the field
in Week one, Bill Belichick, Right, Bill Belichick gonna be
on the sideline head coach at North Carolina. That'll be
tomorrow night. But what do you think about that? You know,
we'll get to the game in a second. But is
Bill Belichick the biggest name in college football right now?

(01:01:44):
Think about all the big names, star players, star head coaches.
Where would you put Bill Belichick in the pecking order
right now? I mean this is all NFL resume, right,
So do you think that he's the biggest name we
have in college football? Where would you put him?

Speaker 6 (01:02:02):
You know what, housewives across the country are rooting against him.
I can guarantee that, so, you know, just people in general.
He's been in the press so much this offseason with
his young granddaughter girlfriend, and yeah, so I'm telling you
there's a lot of people rooting against him, though I

(01:02:23):
know from a personal stamp. I could, you know, like
my mom, she passed, but I could picture on my
old fashioned Italian mom, I don't like that man, Billy.
I could just see here saying it, because you know,
he doesn't like that he's dating someone that young. Oh yeah,
he's the front of the New York Post and everything
all the time. But now, going back to the football,

(01:02:45):
TCU definitely comes into the game with the experience. They
had a third year starter, Josh Hoover a quarterback. Some
people will think maybe this is the best quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
In the country.

Speaker 6 (01:02:56):
Bill Pelichick's son, Steven, who is the defensive coordinator, He's
gonna have his hands.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Full with the tc offense.

Speaker 6 (01:03:02):
I'll just tell you, I think we'll see a lot
of hype for this UNC team this year, but I'm
not thinking we're going to see the results. I think
it'll be a similar to like Colorado last year with
Dion fun to watch and talk about, but not championship Calimber.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
What do you think they're what do you do you
think there?

Speaker 3 (01:03:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
I think the win total took some money to the under.
TCU took a lot of money. I mean I bet
TCU plus one and a half back in June and
they're now three and a half point favorite. And it's
what Krack said, like, the narrative is very negative against UNC.
So you just know that they're going to be a
team that people love to fade in the market, which

(01:03:39):
might open up, frankly, some value on us betting on
them at some point in the season. Only two starters
back on defense, but Belichick right, the Belichick family, Steve
Enbill very good defensive coaches like Steve. Last year at
Washington took the Huskies won twentieth against the pass in
twenty twenty three, by the way, they went to the
national championship that year, and one to twentieth against the past.

Speaker 5 (01:04:01):
They were second against.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
The pass last season, number one overall in passing yards
per attempt, pretty much top fifteen in every other category,
but second in overall efficiency. The usual Bellacheckian scheme, defend
the middle, take away your best player. Who is TCU's
best player. I honestly it is the quarterback, But I
think in the skill position wise, I don't really know
if they have that one guy who you want to stop.

(01:04:26):
No TCU running back had one hundred yard game last year.
They don't have a ton in the backfield. They've actually
got some decent receivers. Even though they lost back. They
lost Saveon Williams to the draft. Eric McCallister is kind
of the alpha this year, average twenty yards per catch.
Last year, ninety percent of his catches were first down.
So maybe that is the guy that you have to
take away. Is this deep threat McAllister, and if they
do that, it's probably gonna be dank and dunk. It's

(01:04:48):
probably gonna be a slower paced game. I don't love
UNC's offense. They've got a group of five quarterback, a
small lefty dual threat Geo Lopez coming in. They don't
have a ton at the skill position. Lost a lot
of firepower. Again, UNC maybe had the most turnover in
the country, which makes them very hard to handicap. But
you would expect a slower paced game. You would expect

(01:05:09):
it to be a defensive minded game. I actually like
TCU's defense a lot. I think they've done some really
nice things on the defensive side of the ball. Joe
Gillespie was terrible for them as a coordinator. Andy Vallos
came in last year and really made some nice improvement.
So I think it feels like one of those grinders.
But you know, when you get a lot of turnover, Brian,
you just you know, we don't know what UNC's roster

(01:05:31):
is really going to look like when they start playing.

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
Yeah, listen, just thinking about Belichick and the name recognition
part of this, right where we think of him as
an NFL guy. Right, we've won six rings as a
head coach, one couple as a defensive coordinator, all that stuff,
but he's still a gigantic name even in college football.
I put it this way, everybody has an opinion about

(01:05:55):
Bill Belichick, and that is like the litmus test when
you're thinking about the biggest names in college football. Whether
it's Deon Sanders, Arch Manning, whoever, Dabo Sweeney, everybody has
an opinion on those guys. And so whatever happens tomorrow
night with Belichick's North Carolina team, everybody will have an
opinion on it, especially if they lose. If they lose,

(01:06:18):
you're gonna hear a lot of noise. And the interesting thing, too,
is with Deon Sanders losing his first game at Colorado,
arch Manning losing his first game this season at Texas,
it's weird because this is a fluid list, right like
if it's a top five, just like the AP top
five with teams the most interesting or the most talked

(01:06:38):
about person in college football. It's a fluid list. It
ebbs and flows, but Belichick's name will be up there, man,
And I'll put it this way too. You think about
Jeremiah Smith. You mentioned him earlier in the show. The
Ohio State stud wide receiver Jeremiah Smith gets some attention,
but we all agree he's a stud. There's no detractors

(01:06:59):
out there being yeah, he's kind of overrated, and there's
a conversation. There's always a conversation to be had about
Bill Belichick because people perceive him in different ways, like
the Brady Belichick who is more responsible for the success
all that type of stuff, is just going to follow
him to North Carolina. So I it's great for college football.

(01:07:20):
We'll see how good it is for North Carolina. But
he is absolutely He's on the short list for one
of the biggest names in college football. Make no mistake.

Speaker 6 (01:07:29):
Yeah, Jared said this, He's right. North Carolina opened up
one and a half now, granted these first weeks, don't
forget these lines have been up for months. So North
Carolina opened up one and a half. Now it's swung
the other way three and a half. That's a five
point move. That's a lot of points on big name teams.
Let's face it. TCU in North Carolina are big name teams.

(01:07:51):
It's Monday night. Let's face this, it's Monday night football.
It everyone's going to have a bet on this game
so pretty solid now TC youth three and a half.
I personally cannot fire on a team after it moved
that much, so I can't. The only bet I see
here is the dog. I didn't bet it, but that's

(01:08:12):
the only way I see to bet here. I notice
MGM again. We talk about this every week jar of
the show. They have some numbers they hang and I
swear when we get out of some people from we
get people on air from MGM, I actually put them
on the spot, like, so, how do you have fifty
six and a half on the North Carolina game when
the Sharper sportsbooks have fifty five? Like I just sometimes

(01:08:36):
I don't get it. Is that the crowd that bets
at MGM. That's why I like to have my MGM account.
If anything there I have to. Even though it's only
a point and a half. It's not key numbers. It's
not like it's forty one to forty two and a half,
which is more valuable than anything high but bigger numbers.
But I still like to have MGM for these spots

(01:08:58):
when they have a total of fifty six and a half,
when I know the sports books that control the world
have fifty five. So anyway, as we speak, of course
my mouth opens.

Speaker 2 (01:09:08):
What happens?

Speaker 5 (01:09:09):
Yeah, it just moved. You just moved the market as.

Speaker 6 (01:09:12):
We speak, because I have a live on screen. MGM
just went to fifty five and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
That's hard. It's actually hard to believe. The more the
bigger thing.

Speaker 6 (01:09:23):
That's hard to believe. I would have bet a large
portion of my bankroll is when that happened. MGM just
moved the Notre Dame Miami game from the three to
two and a half. So seeing that really shocks me
because we've had Christian, yeah exactly, thunderbolts and lightning, very
very frightening. We've had Christian on the past, and you know,

(01:09:49):
we've said, you know, you guys have a three out there,
and you know they don't want to get middled or
scalped or sided, so they won't move off that three.
So this is very interesting that they moved from three
to two and a half on this game.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
Very very rare.

Speaker 6 (01:10:02):
Do you see that now There is a couple threes,
dog twenties, twenty fives, but as far as the game now,
it's two and a half. And I swear I think
someone's listening. We talked about two games, two good lines.
Both the lines moved. Wow, someone's definitely listening.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (01:10:19):
Cracks like Moses parting up the red seas he raises
his staff and the sea's part.

Speaker 6 (01:10:24):
That usually doesn't happen on the more on Marquee Games,
there's so much, so much volume coming in.

Speaker 4 (01:10:30):
Well, yeah, we go from Marquee Games crack to Marquee
Update anchors. Oh good yeasting my man Isaac glowing part
I low with the latest, Well, I thank you for that.
A tremendous introduction.

Speaker 8 (01:10:43):
It was a tremendous game last night as number nine
LSU one on the road at fourth rank Clemson, seventeen
to ten. Clemson led ten to three at halftime, but
LSU outscored him in the second half fourteen to nothing.
And guys, with that in mind, I thought it would
be interesting, out of morbid curiosity, perhaps to go back

(01:11:04):
and see what LSU fans were posting on message boards
when they had scored only three points in the first
half and we're down ten to three.

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
So these are all.

Speaker 8 (01:11:15):
Courtesy of the social media curating account message board Geniuses
at Breezes, which I assume is a reference to Drew
Brees posted Brian Kelly absolutely sucks bleep at HTx Tiger seventeen.

(01:11:37):
Brian Kelly needs to go at jugular Joe Nice username.
By the way, Brian Kelly will not last the season
and finally at CASS four t contributing quote, I will
freaking fight a Clumson fan. If you're reading this, meet

(01:11:58):
me at Sonic unquote that raises so many questions, but
for the moment, we will move on to Number eleven
Arizona State beating Northern Arizona thirty eight to nineteen. Arizona
State quarterback Sam eleven two touchdown passes, two touchdown runs.
Receiver Jordan Tyson twelve catches for one forty one with
two touchdowns. Number fourteen Michigan over New Mexico thirty four

(01:12:21):
to seventeen. Wolverine running back Justice Haynes ran for one
fifty nine and three touchdowns. Seventeenth rank Kansas State pulled
out a thirty eight to thirty five win over FCS
North Dakota. Avery Johnson the game pluting six yard touchdown
pass to Joe Jackson with forty two seconds to play.
Number nineteen Texas A and M beating Texas San Antonio

(01:12:42):
forty two to twenty four. Agne quarterback Marcel Reid a
career high four touchdown passes in Major League Baseball. On
Saturday night, Elas Diaz hit two home runs in the
Padres twelve to three win at Minnesota San Diego, one
back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League
West and the New York Yankees one at Chicago over
the White Sox at eleven innings, five to three for

(01:13:05):
their seventh consecutive win, featuring Aaron Judges forty second home
run of the season.

Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
Guys, back to you, thank.

Speaker 1 (01:13:12):
You, I Low.

By the way, with I Loo reading off the tweets
at halftime, LSU and they ended up winning the game,

(01:13:35):
it made me think of you know, freezing cold, freezing
cold takes. Have you guys ever ended up on there?
Have you had any of your tweets. You know, go,
I've had I tweet liked by them.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
One time when I tried to get some attention by
calling attention to one of my bad takes.

Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Oh really okay, yeah, they were like, hey, I own
it when I have a bad take. I say, this
was terrible. Do you remember what the bad take was?

Speaker 5 (01:13:56):
No, I don't, but I remember they liked it and
it went viral.

Speaker 6 (01:14:00):
Someone had who was it that there's someone in our
space that I've been on his show?

Speaker 2 (01:14:04):
He's been on my show. My brain's just not thinking
of his name right now.

Speaker 4 (01:14:07):
Jeff Edwartz. Oh my god.

Speaker 6 (01:14:12):
He put a tweet out this week that was saying
about the trade on Dalla. Well actually he said he said,
oh there's here's the top ten reasons that Dallas will
never trade him.

Speaker 2 (01:14:23):
And then like forty minutes after you put the trade.

Speaker 5 (01:14:26):
Oh, oh, Nick bad. I fill in on that show
a lot. He Nick fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
He's another one of those people that if he gives
you a bad take, he will own it, you know.

Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
Unlike, yeah, Nick put that out and then bang the
other way.

Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
That was just bad timing. Oh I had the same take,
and we've had the same take on this show. I said,
there's no way they're going to trade him, No way
will Jerry ever trade him. That's terrible business move.

Speaker 5 (01:14:54):
And they traded him.

Speaker 6 (01:14:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, But but that's you know, sometimes
you do that. Sometimes you you put out a bad
take and it's nice to own it, and a lot
of people will just erase their tweet. A lot of
they'll get barbecued for a day.

Speaker 1 (01:15:09):
That's worse.

Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
Oh man.

Speaker 1 (01:15:10):
I used to be much more timid with that because,
especially when I was younger in the space up and coming,
you don't want to be embarrassed. But I think now
once you get to the point of a not taking
yourself too seriously, be realizing that everyone in this space
gets things wrong all the time. I mean, sports media
is full of terrible takes. You get more right than

(01:15:32):
you do wrong, but you still get.

Speaker 5 (01:15:33):
A lot wrong and you just have to own it.

Speaker 1 (01:15:36):
You just got to own it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
I got caught by him one time. It was actually
kind of a funny story where it was an NFL
game years ago and the forty nine ers were awful
this year awful, and I tweeted something like, you know,
whatever you spent on Christmas presents, bet the same amount
on the Arizona Cardinals tonight Christmas presence and.

Speaker 5 (01:16:01):
They ended up losing.

Speaker 4 (01:16:02):
It was disgusting they got me on that. But it
was funny, you know, you just roll with it.

Speaker 1 (01:16:06):
It was funny.

Speaker 4 (01:16:07):
Actually, it was funny because some of my friends were
texting me like, dude, dude, you just got picked up
on freezing cold taggs. So it's kind of like a
badge of honor in some ways to be that, like,
you know, historically wrong if you will, you know, so
you just have some fun with it. It's all good.

Go a good prop it up player plays.

Speaker 4 (01:17:20):
Yes, the prop betting market crack.

Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
We look at you.

Speaker 4 (01:17:24):
No anti notre dame picks in this second. I hope
what do you have?

Speaker 1 (01:17:27):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:17:28):
No, No, We're gonna go to baseball.

Speaker 6 (01:17:29):
We're gonna go to Justin Burlander under seventeen and a
half total outch recorded. Listen, Erlander, I know, forty two
years old, and his fatigue as starting to show, starting
to show a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
He's up against the hot Ools offense that has pitched
into the sixth inning just twice. Is the All Star break.

Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
So let's go under seventeen and a half the total
outs Verlander. You know he's getting up there, a lot
of candles on the cake.

Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
Bagan being there to Kate up than In not want
spend more time with her. And we're talking like if
Donvin's Justin Erlander, I would I would just like, hey,
you've had a great career.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Pat.

Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
I covered his career when he was with the Tigers,
went for a World series, all right, one with the
with the Astros. I mean, he's just had an unbelievable career.
I'll stay with baseball too, right. We're very football, very
ball heavy on the show today, obviously first week college football,
but the baseball still being played. A lot of great
prop numbers out there. I'll give you a plus money
over in the strikeout market. Ian Seymour, young lefty for
the race. They're facing the Nats today. Washington is terrible.

(01:18:31):
They have one of the highest strikeout rates in the league,
especially against lefties. Third highest rate in baseball. It actually
jumps to the highest rate in the first five innings,
nearly thirty percent strikeout rate first five innings for the
Mats against lefties. Seymour has been great, coming off a
eight K outing against the Guardians. Much easier matchup today
against the Nationals, and we get plus money plus one
ten Seymour over five and a half strikeouts. Seymour.

Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
K's all right, I'm gonna go with Paul for you guys.
Here go with the prop. Let me go with well,
it makes sense and prop it up, right, go with
the pup. I'm gonna go with Carson Beck. I'm fading
Carson Beck over here. Give me under two thirty eight
and a half passing yards the new Miami quarterback facing
the Irish. Irish have a good secondary. I like their corners,

(01:19:17):
got a bunch of new receivers to work with over there.
I don't see them having great success. And it's a
Mario Cristoball coach team. They want to run the rock,
you know, they want to win it with the offensive line,
the running game. They're not gonna be slinging it all
night long. Now, you do have to sweat this out potentially,
which is a dominating Irish performance, right, and Miami's playing

(01:19:39):
from behind and they're in throwing mode. That is possible.
But overall, I do like under two thirty eight and
a half passing yards for Carson Beck because Trista Ball
is gonna want to lean on that old line and
run it. That's that's just calling part, right. They're not
slinging it all over the place. So I like the
underard Carson.

Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
I love that look.

Speaker 5 (01:19:59):
If you like it, I do, because I don't as
much as I love you.

Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
I don't see the scenario where Notre Dame's up big
and that's and they're chase and Miami's chasing the game.

Speaker 5 (01:20:10):
But stranger things have happened.

Speaker 2 (01:20:11):
They certainly have.

Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
It feels that that feels like a nip and tuck game.
It's I'll be honest.

Speaker 1 (01:20:15):
It feels like three is the number there. It really does.

Speaker 4 (01:20:18):
Yeah, yeah, I could see that we might have more
props in this game before it's all said and done.
You know, I I have this gravitational pull toward the
w n d A still even though it is football season.
You know, God bless, you gave out a couple of
baseball takes right there. You know, maybe maybe maybe a
sparks play at the end.

Speaker 2 (01:20:37):
I don't know, something like.

Speaker 6 (01:20:39):
Hey, Jared, do you have a favorite team, Like do
you have a team that you can't bet against, like
I know Brian can't bet against the Notre Dame that
I understand you have if you grow up with the team.
Do you have one of those teams Jeffs's Oregon, of course.
I just didn't know if you had a team like that.

Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
Penn State's kind of the one that's still near and
dear to my heart. Like the professional teams, no, because
I covered all of them. For example, I've been a
big Yankees fan and growing up, and then I covered
them when I worked in local New York media, and
the media relations people were just horrible. They treated the
media bad. So I kind of saw how the sausage
was made and I stopped being a fan of a
lot of these professional teams. The Jets too, like they

(01:21:13):
are a disaster, The Mets, like these teams are just
some of them are just not run well with the
media relations staff. So you just kind of, you know,
distance yourself from it. And I only bleed green right fry?

Speaker 2 (01:21:23):
Yeah, yeah, Oh I got you, I got you. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
I will only bet on Notre Dame to cover the spread. Sure,
I won't bet on a total over. I don't want
to cheer for the other team to score. I won't
bet on an under. I don't want to cheer for
Notre Dame not to score. That's it, just to spread.
Coming up next, are they super Bowl contenders?

Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:21:43):
What is going on? Happy Sunday too, y as we
got more college ball on the way. Little doubleheader today,
Virginia Tech taking on South Carolina Notre Dame against Miami
the nightcap and more ball tomorrow too, little TCU North Carolina.
Bill Belichick on the sideline for the first time at

(01:22:04):
North Carolina. Good stuff. We're gonna look at the NFL
here though, Right, we got to get to the primetime
matchups Thursday and Friday. Right, We've got primetime matchups coming
up very shortly. And this guy named Micah Parsons was
just traded, you know, just traded over to the Green
Bay Packers. Here's the question, right, there's so many layers

(01:22:26):
to dive into, and we'll get to the Cowboys in
a second. But are you buying the Green Bay Packers
as true Super Bowl contenders? Meaning you're willing to back
them to win the Super Bowl? Are you that invested
in Green Bay over your tough division, tough schedule? You

(01:22:46):
get Micah Parsons a reason for optimism, but are you
backing them as a super Bowl winning team not just contender?
Backing them to win it all? You crack?

Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
You doing it? Absolutely not.

Speaker 6 (01:23:00):
I Mean, you know one player that you don't even
know what's going on in his mind. I mean, he's
happy as could be. I'm sure that that he has
a new contract, and maybe because you know the little
dispute there with Jerry Jones. But I'll just tell you
I don't see running too. I was just gonna look
on the bad MGM map. That's what I was looking
down for to see. I know they everyone adjusted when

(01:23:22):
he got traded one guy. You know, uh, they adjusted
their lines. But I think even though we all know
the situation with with with with with Parsons and Jerry Jones,
everyone thought is this trade was not going to happen.
I think the Packers were contenders. They were contenders before
the trade, I understand now. Parsons added to it, added

(01:23:44):
to that that that could really make the Super I
guess they can. You could put them in there as
a Super Bowl contender because they were before the situation happened.
But me personally, I am not buying it. Love has
to be more consistent. But uh, you know, if he
could take his play up maybe to the next level,

(01:24:04):
then maybe they could be a contender for more than
just the playoffs. But it's a tough division in my opinion.
Lions Vikings, you know, I'm a little bit high on
the Vikings is here, but Eddon Parsons definitely puts the
Packers up right up there.

Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
In the division and with it, maybe even with anyone
in the NFC.

Speaker 6 (01:24:24):
But personally, no, I am not betting anything on the
Packers to win the Super Bowl or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
Yeah, I think after the move you don't bet it.
I think I'm splitting the baby with how I feel
about Week one. We've seen significant movement on both of
the games. Right, We've seen the movement against Dallas. We've
seen movement towards green Bay. That makes no sense to me.
He's probably gonna play at best ten or fifteen snaps
in the game for green Bay. So you're moving the
Lions line a point and a half like it went

(01:24:52):
from green Bay minus one to green Bay minus two
and a half for what, like his Parsons might play
ten snaps like he hasn't played all preseason, He hasn't practiced,
he's been through this contract dispute.

Speaker 5 (01:25:02):
It hasn't kissed up against the key yet.

Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
But if it does, I'm assuming Crack and his buddies
are going to bet Detroit plus three very hard if
we do get that number flash in the market before
next Sunday. On the other side, for Dallas, it makes
even less sense. He hadn't practiced all summer. He wasn't
going to play much, if at all, in that game
against Philly, and you moved it not only through seven,
but now we're kind of creeping towards eight, and I

(01:25:26):
think at some point you've got to see some money
come back in on Dallas here. And I'm not saying
that Dallas is going to have this great performance. I
don't know what the locker room vibe is. That to
me is the volatile aspect of this that I cannot handicap.
It could go both ways.

Speaker 5 (01:25:40):
We see the fallen hero.

Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Narrative all the time, where star player gets hurt, star
player gets traded, team rallies around for one or two games,
and then it kind of falls off from there. That
might be one path. The other path is the players
in the locker room are like, what the heck is
Jerry Jones doing? This is a disaster. We think our
best players gone blah blah blah blah blah, and then
the the morale levels sinks, and then things can get

(01:26:03):
out of hand because you know Philly's gonna be fired
up for that game, raising the banner and opening night.
I think I lean to that. These are professional athletes.
This is business and they're going to continue to play
and earn their paycheck. So I would say Dallas now
moving through the key like you've got to figure it,
like crack. At what point do you say enough is enough?
Like maybe long term Green Bays better off, Dallas worse off.

(01:26:23):
But for one game, one week, we're now moving these
numbers around significantly for one player that might play ten.

Speaker 5 (01:26:29):
Or fifteen snaps. It feels a little bit overbaked.

Speaker 6 (01:26:31):
There were six and a half's out there. There were
actually six and a halfs before the trade. Wow, I've
seen right here in town minus six and a half
minus fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
And I don't know if a.

Speaker 6 (01:26:41):
Player this situation warrants, Like you said, if this goes
to eight, Wow, and now you figure out eight, no
big deal. Well eight definitely comes into play sports betting wise,
now with the analytics in the game of team being
up fourteen, you know, you know, do they go for
they should go for two? Where you know there's certain

(01:27:01):
situations here sorry, team being down fourteen and should the
other team go for the two? So eight comes into
play here.

Speaker 4 (01:27:09):
Eight.

Speaker 6 (01:27:09):
I'd probably be interested in a small bet on Dallas.
I can guarantee you that by game time there will
be so much square money coming in on the Eagles
that this game probably will get pushed to that eight
beast in certain spots.

Speaker 2 (01:27:27):
Think about it.

Speaker 6 (01:27:27):
You're playing, by the way, You're playing in one of
the toughest places to play in the NFL in South Philadelphia. Brian,
he knows my feelings from last year talking about it.
Very tough crowd there. Like also, like Jared said, they'll
be raising the banner. This is going to be a
really pumped up crowd and it really pumped.

Speaker 2 (01:27:49):
Up game for them.

Speaker 6 (01:27:50):
This would be a tough game to doll for Dallas
to play. But I think one thing settle. If there's
going to be eights out there, I may actually bite
for a little peanut on on the dog there.

Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
You know what's funny is I think a lot of
times in sports betting, you follow what you're comfortable with
to a fault, right, And what I mean by that
is Micah Parsons getting traded to the Green Bay Packers.
I can see a lot of betters lining up like,
hey man, I'm comfortable betting the Packers. This is a

(01:28:22):
team with a rich tradition. You know, they're not burning
me left and right in the playoffs like the Cowboys have.
So there are gonna be a lot of people that
line up to back the Packers to make serious noise
this season and like to the tune of winning it all.
And I just wouldn't go that far because look at
what Parsons just left. Look at the Cowboys, right, he

(01:28:43):
had twelve plus sacks in each of his first four seasons.
Only Reggie White is the only other guy to do that.
What are the Cowboys done? Exactly with Michaeh Parsons there
in Dallas, like there's not a knock on him. But
you've got a good quarterback in Dak Prescott, you've got
a good offense. They've done nothing in the playoffs. They
won twelve games three years in a row. They didn't

(01:29:05):
do anything in the playoffs. And we'll just clown the
Cowboys all day long. If Micah Parsons suspend reality for
a second. If Micah Parsons was a member of the
Packers the first four years, right, same production, same everything,
and just got traded to the Cowboys, you think as
many betters would be lining up to back the Cowboys

(01:29:27):
to win the Super Bowl. I don't think so, because
there are a lot of betters that wouldn't feel comfortable
backing Dallas because they've been burned time and time and
time again come playoff time. So it's something to keep
in mind if you're thinking about backing Green Bay. I
think a lot of it traces back to you're just
simply more comfortable backing them to make serious playoff noise

(01:29:48):
than you would be the Cowboys, and that, to me
is a red flag to show you probably shouldn't back
them to win it all that way, Are.

Speaker 2 (01:29:56):
You guys pumped up? I mean, think about this NFL
regular season.

Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
It starts Thursday, Apia.

Speaker 6 (01:30:02):
From that, it's hard to believe it's upon us already,
and then we get a Friday game.

Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
I mean, wow, this is really exciting though for a
lot of people.

Speaker 6 (01:30:12):
I like to tell people, now after the eight o'clock
hour here on the West Coast eleven o'clock east, so
you don't have to have a bet on Thursday night's game. Yeah, okay, crack, yeah,
oh great, that's great. Thanks for that constructive criticism and
responsible gambling.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
Angle.

Speaker 6 (01:30:29):
Everyone's gonna have a bet, I understand, but just try
to keep it within your bank roll management. You want
to not go crazy. Just coast the games on TV
and you want to do something else. Don't get caught
up in live wagering. Don't forget now live wagering double
the juice of the pre flop game juice. So and
I say this on many networks, it's like closet gambling.

(01:30:50):
You start getting involved, and you know, Eagles come out
and score touchdown.

Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
What do people say, I knew this, I knew.

Speaker 6 (01:30:55):
Oh my god, I gotta get on it now, Eagles
minus thirteen. And then you just keep keep on banging
away and banging away, and you just want to All
I'm saying is try to have some fun, be responsible,
and let's have a nice season here.

Speaker 2 (01:31:09):
You know. I just wanted to pass that along before.

Speaker 6 (01:31:12):
Because I know we're not gonna be on there until
next till next Sunday, so it'll it'll be over for
these Thursday or Friday night games.

Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
I'll give you a pick on a rapid fire for
Thursday's game, just to wet the whistle a little bit.
I'm actually very excited about Week one. I think I
have a couple of good angles that are under angles
which I know are always the sharper side, especially Week one,
and I think just in general, we have more information

(01:31:38):
about like the college football yesterday, like we were dead.
I went on three with the picks I gave you yesterday.
Now granted one of them was a backdoor cover. It
was late Georgia also against Marshall backdoor cover. I was
wrong on the Texas game. If you would have told
me Arch was going to play like barf Manning as
our Chris Purfett, our technical producers weaved out yesterday. Great
tweet by him, then I wouldn't have I wouldn't bet

(01:32:00):
on Texas yesterday because I think that was obviously the
difference in the game. We have very little information about
how these kids really look, whereas in the NFL we
have preseason, we have significantly more information. Like I think,
if there's one sport that I'm more reluctant to bed early,
it's college football, especially the marquee matchups. Like we said,
you get a little bit more angles with some of

(01:32:22):
these big underdogs that might just you know, keep things
close enough to cover the spread. But these marquee games,
these best versus best, it's about which team shows up
and actually plays to their potential and which team doesn't
just drastically underachieve. I think in the NFL they're pro
so the ceiling might not be as high, but I
think the floor is also higher. Like, you don't get

(01:32:43):
these just absurdly bad performances like we saw with Clemson's
offense yesterday, Like we saw with Alabama's offense yesterday. Nobody
thought Alabama, as a two touchdown favorite, was gonna lay
an egg like that. Like you could not find one
take in the sports betting twitter verse that Alabama was
going to lose by two scores yesterday.

Speaker 5 (01:33:00):
I mean, it's just such a unique result.

Speaker 1 (01:33:03):
So, NFL, if you're willing to be a little bit
more conservative with your under beets, I think that is
the way to go next week.

Speaker 4 (01:33:11):
By the way, let me give you a Cowboys angle
on this Micah Parson's trade and a betting angle with
the Mikeah Parson's trade crack. You would love this, Jared,
I think you might like this. But let's start off
with the Cowboys are incredibly dumb. Let's just start with that,
all right, Because here's the deal. You want to maximize
the value you have with any player, and they didn't

(01:33:34):
do that crack. You always talk about closing line value right,
it's a big It's a very important thing. If you're
on a Notre Dame tonight, you want to be on
Notre Dame like minus one and a half, not minus three.
If you can get it right, you want to get
it earlier. You want to have that closing line value.
It's the same thing. It's just maximizing value. Any team

(01:33:55):
wants to maximize the value they have with any player.
The Cowboys did not do that with Micah Parsons, and
in the end they traded him for Kenny Clark defensive
linemen in two first round picks. Those two first round
picks could be low first round picks depending on how
far the Packers get in the playoffs. That is not
maximizing value for him. You traded him to a team

(01:34:18):
in your same conference and for a modest haul like that.
You can't help me. You saw those pictures with Luka
Doncic next to Michah Parsons, They're very similar. The Mavericks
did not maximize the value of Luka Doncic. They just
negotiated with the Lakers. They didn't open it up to

(01:34:38):
the whole league. If the Cowboys were going to deal
Micah Parsons would have been better months ago, opening it
up to the entire league highest bidder if that's what
you want, or you can send him to the AFC
so you don't have to face them every year in
the playoffs if you get there. It's just it's ridiculous
what they got for the guy when they could have

(01:35:00):
gotten so much more, and they just mismanaged it. There's
no defending it at all. Like some of these people
out there that are like very good points, well, I mean,
Jerry's a good business man, Jared, you brought this. It's ridiculous, man,
there's no defending this trade. They did not maximize the
value of an incredibly valuable player. That is a football

(01:35:20):
mortal sin right there, and they just committed it.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:35:24):
I have to tell you you made some good points there.
I didn't think about looking at his contract. I googled
it while you were talking. Wow, the money they throw
around for these guys. But you know, really, you're right
in truth, Green Bay probably could have gone bigger than
the forty four million that they paid for partions.

Speaker 2 (01:35:43):
One of the articles.

Speaker 6 (01:35:44):
I'm quoting from an article here and You're right, How
can this be done now the week before let's call it,
ten days before the start of football. How could this
not have been done a month or like you said,
two months ago, putting that into the the equation. Wow,
I just can't believe it there.

Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
There really has to be.

Speaker 6 (01:36:04):
Like I said a couple of weeks ago, I know
so many people down in Texas, in Dallas, they can't
stand this organization.

Speaker 2 (01:36:13):
They hate Jerry Jones. What now?

Speaker 6 (01:36:16):
Now, granted they did get some things back here, they
got the two, but years you don't know how far
these these picks are going to be down to trade
these first round picks U and they did get a
player for him on defense, but that's not that it's
a marquee player like losing Parsons is what's in the
public there? Boy, these Cowboy fans must be going crazy

(01:36:37):
down there.

Speaker 4 (01:36:39):
I know I was saying off the air, I'm not
even a Cowboys fan, and I'm ticked off of it.
You know, I can't imagine being a Cowboys fanhh my god.

Speaker 1 (01:36:48):
And there's a lot of them out there.

Speaker 5 (01:36:50):
It's funny.

Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
So I posted this a week ago when Jerry did
the sit down with Steven a on get Up, and
I said, I said, this would be my ago when
I saw Jerry Jones make a cameo in Landman. For
those of these know Landman's this fantastic show great John
hamm and with Billy Bob Thornton. So Jerry Jones made
a cameo on it and he was amazing, like fantastic,

(01:37:10):
like his acting chops are off the charts.

Speaker 5 (01:37:13):
I said, this guy picked the wrong line of work.

Speaker 1 (01:37:15):
Exceptional storyteller and orator, but none of those skills are
useful in running a football team. The best response I
got was from Amy Lawrence, who I love. She used
to work for I forget which radio station, but she said,
the Cowboys franchise is worth more than ten billion. Looking
at NFL and ownership as a business, he's been more
successful than anyone else in the league. He's a businessman

(01:37:35):
at heart. And I think Amy at like she nailed it,
like that's what he is. And then another person this
was my favorite reply to this post. He can talk
a cat off a fish truck like that is exactly
what Jerry is. But again, those personality traits and skills
do not mesh well with running a football team. They

(01:37:59):
just don't. Because entertainment and running a team and picking
players and you know, organizing your roster, those are two
very Those are mutually exclusive skill sets. I say this
all the time about gambling. Being a good gambler and
being good at talking about gambling on TV and radio
mutually exclusive skill sets. I see a lot of really
sharp people that are terrible on air, a lot of

(01:38:21):
really good people on air terrible at betting. Just because
you're good at one doesn't mean you're gonna be good
at the other.

Speaker 5 (01:38:26):
Those are mutually exclusive.

Speaker 1 (01:38:27):
So as good as Jerry is with the business entertainment side,
the picking of the football players thing might not be
his skill and you just have to own it and
then outsource. Like you're a very rich man, you could
hire very smart people to run your football team and
not make these boneheaded decisions. But then the old ego
comes in where I can do it all. And now
Jared's got himself in a little bit of a sticky wicket.

Speaker 4 (01:38:50):
Yeah, there's no doubt about that. All right, We've got
Bill Krakenberger, professional sports handicapper. Jared Smith. I almost said,
Jared Schwartz almost combined you guys excedently Wow. Jared Smith
FSR betting analyst in for our guy, Jeff Schwartz, was
out supporting his ducks yesterday. By the way, you see
the duck the mascot lost his head had them so

(01:39:11):
you had to run off the fence like you can't
see me in my real face, Like.

Speaker 5 (01:39:15):
Ah, right here, right, that was a moment right there.

Speaker 4 (01:39:18):

Radio wherever you get your podcasts, and you'll find today's
full show posted right after we get off the air. Okay,
prime time games we got. We talked about it briefly,
but let's go a little bit more extensively, shall we.
We got the NFL kicking off on Thursday, Cowboys at
the Eagles. Also on Friday, Chiefs at the Chargers. That

(01:40:45):
game is in Brazil, so I guess it is just
Chiefs versus Chargers, even though that's technically a home game
for the Chargers. Have to give one up. And I
mentioned the quest to d throne a champion begins very soon.
That would be the Chargers trying to dethrone the Chiefs
at least as champions of the AFC West, and they've
won it nine straight years. They're going for a full decade.

(01:41:06):
Over here, Well, Holmes are responsible for seven of those years.
As the full time starter. But what do you think
about one the Chargers chances in week one and also
a big picture, the Chargers chances to win the division?
Are you backing them in either?

Speaker 2 (01:41:23):
Well, I'll tell you every year.

Speaker 6 (01:41:27):
It seems like to me that I'm betting against Dallas
futures and I've done very well on them, by the way,
and Chargers futures this year not betting against either one
of them futures wise, So.

Speaker 2 (01:41:40):
Not that I'm backing them to going far.

Speaker 6 (01:41:42):
But you know, let's let's let's look at this game
a little bit Thursday during the break, I kind of
thought about it a little bit, started looking at some
lines here. I could see this game echine towards the
eight everyone jumpionship in Dallas as they're you know, they
if they traded parsonsven and a half point dog at
least this opening game. The Eagles returning champs, big preseason

(01:42:06):
favorites to win the NFC again and probably be one
of the more popular survivor picks in the first week here.
And you know, for anyone that doesn't note that is
it's a suicide.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
Pool or survivor pool there.

Speaker 6 (01:42:19):
They've gotten real popular here in Las Vegas, a couple
of big casinos offer them, and people I notice, I
know people look back east that have their own Survivor
pools for years. There's some big, giant ones in the South,
so don't let that Bible belt flew you over there.
I know one that's ten thousand dollars to get in,
and there's always forty fifty people in that one. But yeah,

(01:42:40):
they probably weren't that popular of a Survivor pick six
and a half seven point, but now that they're crossing
the key number of seven into the eight, probably going
to be a popular pick on Survivor. But then again,
our survivors here in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
Are twenty weeks, not eighteen.

Speaker 6 (01:43:00):
You have to save some picks for those particular weeks
that they call Thanksgiving and Christmas, which I think one
only has three games. One has four games, so you
may want to save one of the picks for them.
But this also looks like a good teaser spot now
that it's through the seven seven and a half. But
I want to tell you something though, everyone is going

(01:43:21):
to be on nations, everyone, but there's going to be
a lot of money on on the Eagles. Don't be
shocked if the Cowboys don't come out and play a
much better game than people think and maybe even a
chance to pull it off, They're going to be so
motivated to start the season and want to show that
they don't need Parsons. So I just think that angle

(01:43:44):
you want to look at, you know, the contrarian side,
and you want to be on the team that the
sports books are on. The sportsbooks are going to need
the Dallas Cowboys. Now, as far as the other game,
I did take the early you know of the Kansas
City right here in the spot. I grabs the two
two and a half about a month ago, and also
some money line. This one's gonna be played with high

(01:44:05):
elevation in Brazil. Mahomes and the Chiefs have been dying
to get back on the field since the Super Bowl
that they lost over six months ago. Wow, that's yeah,
that was six months ago, right, I mean jesus wow.
They just that was kind of embarrassing what happened on
the field to them for a veteran squad. So they're
gonna see if they can dust the rust off them dust.

(01:44:25):
The rust Chargers have lost seven straight games to their
division rival, and you know, I'm hoping they make it
eight straight. I'm hoping that a thing will be great
for this game for me, probably to land on the three,
like I said. But yeah, so anyway, that's it's kind
of interesting that we have some really good marquee games

(01:44:46):
to open up the season.

Speaker 5 (01:44:47):
What do you think, Jared, I think I'm down on
the Chargers this year.

Speaker 2 (01:44:50):
I do.

Speaker 1 (01:44:51):
I bet under nine and a half wins when I
looked at their team last year, so they would have
had the third best record in the league if the
games ended. Choose me second best record in the league
if the games ended after three quarters. That's how bad
they were in the fourth quarter. No other team trailed
in fewer games entering the fourth quarter last year than
the Chargers. They're just the team that shrinks right tss

(01:45:12):
tight sphincter syndrome in the fourth quarter of games. And
Justin Herbert is leading the Charge fourth quarter of one
score games. Out of thirty five qualifying quarterbacks, Herbert's twenty
fifth in accuracy, twenty third in success right, I mean
he is a mediocre quarterback when the game is close
late in the game and the Chiefs only play one
score games, right, Like that's all they do, so you

(01:45:33):
would imagine this game will be tight late, and I
think I'm fading Justin Herbert in those spots. Defensively, for
the Chargers, they were very fortunate last year. They faced
the sixth easiest schedule of opposing offenses and quarterbacks, which
made their defense look much better than it actually was.
I mean, they faced Minshew, Bryce Young, Justin Fields, Bo Nicks,
Hayna Rattler, Jamis Winston, Will Levis, Kirk Cousins, Knicks again,

(01:45:56):
Drake may Aidan O'Connell. Those were the games that they
had success in last year. Over the seventeen games they
played last year, twelve of the quarterbacks were either benched, backups, rookies,
or will Levis, who might be one of all three.
They played six games against actual real quarterbacks Mahomes, Kyler,
Murray Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Mahomes again, Baker Mayfield. They went

(01:46:17):
one in five in those games. So I think it's
a very easy handicap for me with the Chargers. When
they manage up tight games, they're gonna lose. When they
play down, probably gonna bully their opponents, and that's kind
of the vibe like they're gonna run the ball with Hampton.
They're going to be a very aggressive team, I think
on the offensive line, even though they lost one of
their best pieces up front. That's the kind of style

(01:46:37):
hardball wants to play. But I just don't know if
they're able to get over the hump against good teams,
tight games, late fourth quarter. So I think Chiefs by
at least the field goal kind of makes sense to
me here.

Speaker 4 (01:46:50):
Yeah, man, I think I think this year is the
Chiefs revenge tour.

Speaker 1 (01:46:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:46:55):
I just the way they played in the Super Bowl
very un Chiefs like beating them themselves. I'm not saying
that's the reason they lost the Super Bowl. To give
the Eagles credit, they played great, but the Chiefs assisted
them in that win, right, There's no doubt about that,
And that is unlike them, very unlike them. And I mean,
I just think that Mahomes is due for a huge

(01:47:18):
bounce back year. Rashi Rice is suspended for the first
six weeks, but once they get him back and they're
at full strength, I think this offense is gonna be
a problem. They've got a lot of playmakers and really
like these people that are just selling their Chief stock.
It's wishful thinking. That's really all it is. This is
we're gonna sell all of our stock because they played

(01:47:40):
hideous football in one half of football, which was the
first half against the Eagles. They actually outscored the Eagles
in the second half. There's one atrocious first half on
the biggest stage against the Eagles. That's not good enough
for me to just sell all my stock. They won
fifteen games last season, fifteen to two, I mean, and
they didn't even care about the final week of the

(01:48:01):
regular season. So no, I'm not selling my chief stock.
There's still the class of that division. I look at
Harbaugh year two with the Chargers. Yeah there's reason for optimism,
but you mentioned Jared Rashaun Slater out for the year.
That's a big loss for their offensive line. And I
just I'll be late to the Barty on this one,

(01:48:23):
you know what I mean. Like a lot of times
in sports betting, it's not where it is, it's where
it's gonna end up, right. It's like a timing pattern
in football. You don't throw it to where he is,
it's where he's gonna be when the ball gets there.
So you have to anticipate things a lot. I'll be
fashionably late to the Chargers overtake the Chiefs in the

(01:48:43):
AFC West.

Speaker 1 (01:48:44):
You know, anyone overtaking the Chiefs peer way.

Speaker 4 (01:48:47):
If I'm late to that, so be it. I'll shrug
my shoulders. But I'm just gonna keep riding that training
until the wheels fall off, because I think it's it's
a better argument to keep with the Kansas City Chiefs
than to go with the Denver or somebody else. Right here,
they're just the class of that division. Mahomes is thirty
five and five against the AFC West. Just think about

(01:49:10):
that for as thirty five and five.

Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
You know, guys, I gotta tell you something. So I
have a buddy of Minut's here.

Speaker 6 (01:49:16):
He came in to sign up for the there's one
hundred thousand dollars contest in town, which is down downtown here.
It's a Grandee smoke, so he came.

Speaker 2 (01:49:23):
In to play it.

Speaker 6 (01:49:25):
He also said, I want to bet forty thousand dollars
on season wins under for the Chiefs. So I was like, wow,
I don't know if anyone's going to take forty thousand,
but you can go sprinkle it around.

Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
You know.

Speaker 6 (01:49:38):
He is just a big money guy, but not a
dumb guy. He's not a professional sports better, but he's
not a dumb guy. And he sprinkled it around. He
got down his forty thousand dollars. But I see now,
I'm just starting to look everywhere eleven and a half,
under forties, under fifties. So yeah, he did get down
and he's against the Chiefs this year. But I have

(01:50:00):
to tell you, I'm probably siding with you two guys.
I have to see it first to believe it that
the Mahomes era is done. But again, this guy is
no dummy. And he's a lucky guy too. And I
know you say, ah, luck means nothing, and there are
certain people that are luckier than others. I'll just tell
you he has a chance to win this Chiefs and

(01:50:23):
one hundred thousand dollars grandisimos.

Speaker 2 (01:50:25):
So anyway, yeah, I call it.

Speaker 5 (01:50:27):
A mirror game. This is like a mirror situation, a
mirror bet.

Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
What do I mean by that?

Speaker 5 (01:50:32):
I want to look myself in the mirror at the
end of the day.

Speaker 1 (01:50:35):
Yeah, there you go, and know that I went down
with Mahomes and not fading him, because if I lose
backing Mahomes, I can look myself in the mirror and
say you lost betting on the best quarterback in the league.
If I lose fading Mahomes, I have to look myself
in the mirror and say you lost going against the

(01:50:56):
best quarterback in the league. You have nobody to blame
but yourself. That is what I'm mean by mirror. Bett
and the Chiefs crack. We talk about this all the time.
They were minus two fifty to win the division last year,
pretty much the same team as last year. Now they're
minus won eighteen. What the heck has changed in one
year that they've moved that much right where you can
now bet on them to win the division at almost

(01:51:16):
a coin flips price.

Speaker 5 (01:51:17):
It makes no sense to me.

Speaker 4 (01:51:19):
You know who else can look at himself in the
mirror with the clean couchs of the Isaac Klohen crowd,
I low with the latest.

Speaker 8 (01:51:27):
I yes, when I look in the mirror, I realize
just why I work in radio.

Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
Nonetheless, in.

Speaker 8 (01:51:37):
College football, on Saturday Night, number nine, LSU wanted fourth
rank Clemson seventeen to ten in a battle of Tigers.
Clemson led ten to three at halftime, but LSU outscored
him with the second half fourteen to nothing. Number eleven,
Arizona State over Northern Arizonta thirty eight to nineteen. Sun
Devil quarterbacks Sam eleven two touchdown passes, two touchdown runs.

(01:51:57):
Receiver Jordan Tyson caught twelve for one with two touchdowns.
Number fourteen Michigan defeated New Mexico thirty four to seventeen.
Wolverine running back Justice Hayes ran for one pin fifty
nine at three touchdowns. Seventeenth rank Kansas State came back
to beat FCS North Dakota thirty eight to thirty five.
Avery Johnson the game about a six yard touchdown pass

(01:52:18):
to Joe Jackson with forty two seconds to play. Number
nineteen Texas A and M beat Texas San Antonio forty
two to twenty four as Aggie quarterback Marcel Reid through
a career high four touchdown passes and guys. That brings
us to one of the hidden gems of college football.
Did you know that during home games the Texas A

(01:52:39):
and M Campus Police Department live tweets its police log.
Here is a sampling from last night's game seven forty
six pm. Intoxicated subject Section two thirty three subject having
trouble with the railing, released to sober friends, ejected eight

(01:53:01):
twenty four pm. Vaping Section one twenty nine. Subject was
asked to stop earlier, vaping again and making obscene gestures. Ejected,
And finally, my personal favorite comes from section one twenty
four at nine to forty seven PM. Subject was being
ejected for intoxication and vaping while being escorted out. Subject evaded.

(01:53:28):
Subject was located back in section one twenty four and arrested. Unquote,
So this genius runs from the cops, gets away with it,
and then goes back to his own seats. Not exactly
Harrison Ford fugitive level material. Finally, in Major League Baseball,

(01:53:49):
multiple outlets reporting this morning with the Chicago Cubs finalizing
a deal with free agent first baseman Carlos Santana, who
was recently released by the Cleveland Guardians. Guys, I'm gonna
go buy some future tickets to Section one twenty four.
In college station back to.

Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
You, There you go.

Speaker 4 (01:54:05):

(01:54:27):
a minute here, but crack any Survivor strategy for week one.
I know you're all about the Survivor contests. Any NFL
team that you got circled here for week one?

Speaker 6 (01:54:38):
Yeah, you know this has been beat around a lot
on different networks. My buddy Fez said it. You know,
you want to actually enter Survivor, of course, to have
a shot the whole season.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
It's a fun thing to do. You have action every week.

Speaker 6 (01:54:50):
It may slow you down in other gambling areas, but
if Dallas does, by chance beat the Eagles, there's gonna
be some people out us. You can enter on Friday,
so you can re enter even so that's some good
strategy because.

Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
I think you have a little bit of an overlay there.

Speaker 6 (01:55:08):
But you definitely want to map out your you know,
I don't really map out every single week, but you
want to make sure you have teams available for those
two weeks, the two extra weeks that they're adding this year,
where you only have that in three or four games
to play on Thanksgiving and Christmas. There was a couple
teams last year or two years ago that actually didn't
have any teams to choose. They made it as far

(01:55:30):
as Thanksgiving and didn't leave a team. So I know
that happened, and just make sure you don't have that mistake.

Speaker 2 (01:55:36):
Have fun with it.

Speaker 6 (01:55:36):
Like I said, it does slow you down. In other
areas you have action every week.

Speaker 1 (01:55:41):
Yeah, it's a good it's a good approach if you
are in town here in Nevada. I know a lot
of people alone into town, you know, just to sign
up and then they're gone, and then they and then
they can't come back.

Speaker 5 (01:55:51):
But for someone like me, for someone like crack Brian
also in Nevada.

Speaker 1 (01:55:55):
If the Eagles do lose next Thursday, for example, I'm
not up in Survivor this year.

Speaker 5 (01:56:01):
I never win. I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
I don't think I've made in my three years and
down I've made it past week three. So I'm like,
do I really want to, you know, drop another grand?
It's expensive for someone like me, But if the Eagles lose,
it's kind of like make me an offer you can't refuse,
Like I have to take a piece of it. If
the Eagles do lose next Thursday, because you will get
significantly more value on it. But in general, I think

(01:56:24):
you have to be willing to zig when people are zagging.
You're not gonna win this thing if you're gonna be
on the consensus play every week. And I know it's scary,
but that's what risk, that's what gambling is all about.
So you just have to be willing to take the
side that no one else is gonna take.

Speaker 4 (01:56:40):
That's always great for the ego, right, Jared, where it's like,
don't even worry about the spread, just pick the winning team.

Speaker 1 (01:56:46):
And you can't get past Week three.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
I lost a Week one with the Bengals last year?
Can you make it past week one last year?

Speaker 1 (01:56:52):
That's rough?

Speaker 4 (01:56:53):
Yeah, that is that's rough. And it all makes sense
after the fact. After the fact, you're like, they are
notoriously slow.

Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
You don't think that, but I thought that last year.
I was like, there's no way they lose two openers
in a row, Like they're gonna figure it out this year.

Speaker 4 (01:57:08):
Gambler's fallacy always makes sense after the fact. That's the
way it goes. All Right, We've got Bill Krackenberger, professional

Speaker 2 (01:58:56):
Rapid fire.

Speaker 4 (01:58:58):
Okay, crack, we start with you with something you like.

Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
I'm gonna surprise you guys probably here.

Speaker 6 (01:59:04):
Bet MGM. One of the only places to do this.
You can bet adjusted season wins. So I'm gonna say,
after the Eagles, if they're supposed to win, right, so
they're supposed to win Thursday night, look to the MGM
app and bet the adjusted under on the Eagles. I like,
right now it's eleven and a half minus a quarter.

(01:59:25):
I'm looking to go under twelve and a half. You
could lay two thirty five. Now, I say no, wait
until this first game and look to go under twelve
and a half, laying about a dollar fifty right there.
So there's a there's a future's bet for you guys
after this Thursday night game.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
Love it.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
I think the Jalen Hurts passing yards prop is an
under for me in that Thursday night game. I told
you I was gonna give you a prop for that game.
He's on the preseason no show list. What's that? It's
the guy that didn't play in the preseason. So quarterbacks
last year there were nine of them that didn't play
in the preseason.

Speaker 5 (01:59:58):
Seven of the nine.

Speaker 1 (01:59:59):
Stayed under their passing yards prop. In Week one, they
averaged one hundred and ninety seven yards six point one
yards per attempt. Six of the nine had less than
one hundred and eighty yards passing. I know Dallas doesn't
have Micah Parsons, but Matt Eberflus likes to play his
own defense, keep everything in front, no explosive plays, and
I think Jalen Hurts not facing live bullets in the preseason,
I think that matters.

Speaker 5 (02:00:17):
I think he stays under his passing yards prop next week.

Speaker 4 (02:00:21):
Interesting angle like it. I'm gonna look to this Notre
Dame Fighting Irish football game tonight. Jeremiah Love probably gonna
have a good night. But Miami's their front seven is
pretty good, you know, so that it's gonna be a
heavy box at times. It's gonna be tough to run
effectively all night long. So I think what you're gonna do. First,

(02:00:44):
start collegiately for CJ.

Speaker 2 (02:00:46):
Carr.

Speaker 4 (02:00:47):
Let's swing it on out. Let's pass it to Jeremiah Love. Right,
let's get him in the screen game. I'm gonna take
over fifteen and a half receiving yards for Jeremiah Love.
That's what I have for you. Hopefully like it. Let's
get the PRAS play of the day. Let's do this.

Speaker 3 (02:01:05):
This is the best play of the day.

Speaker 4 (02:01:09):
Alright, Crack, what do you.

Speaker 2 (02:01:11):
Have for us?

Speaker 6 (02:01:11):
All right, little hometown Love here, I'm actually going to
give you another Raiders another future. The Raiders season wins
over six and a half minus a dollar fifty unusual
for me. Usually I'm against the Raiders and a lot
of things. Let's go over season wins for the Raiders.

Speaker 5 (02:01:27):
Love it all right?

Speaker 4 (02:01:28):
Very nice, Kelly. I always text that to my dad.
