covered when it looked like they had no business covering
that game. They're just resilient, man. And uh you're Irish, Brian.
You know normally called football is my best thing I do,

and Irish ended up covering it was I had to
be worse than you know, just that game. Irish had
no That game had no business being ten points and
that game probably actually, you know, we're not putting on
a collection buckets crashes. That game probably broke the books
to last night because you could have gone, I got
no date in minus nine and a half. It closed
at ten and a half. So if you had USC
plus ten and a half, you win. Everyone had the

Irish or in the week one, everyone took USC late
covered and but that game should have been Irish should
have won by twenty. I mean there was a twenty
there was a ten point swing. There where a car
through a terrible interception. You know, no n Emeund rushed
the ball for two hundred yards at that point first

they were This is Illinois game like they had a
bunch of yards but no points. It's been their problem
all season. And I'll tell you this though, this weekend

was prime for this in college wall So I loved
college football. It was there wait eight ranked teams on
the road facing unranked teams, and there were a lot
of losses. Uh, and that's which which and by the way,
which happens. That's that's the sport, right we see all
the time where it's just hard to play road games, right,
it's just hard to do. Nebraska go to Nebraska lost

right Minnesota again it was even close your old miss
obviously on the road, not on rank, but they lost.
Texas Tech loss is one of those situations as well.
It is hard to win in those spots. And there
were close calls right in. Missouri had to win in
double overtime on the road. Texas had to win in overtime.
Memphis lost outright to U A. B is a twenty
one point favorite. So this is what college football is.

It's a It makes it so unique. And right now
as we sit right now, there are only four teams
I think they can win a championship. Three are in
the Big Ten as weak as people think the Big
ten is and the other one is Alabama. Alabama's they've
won four straight beginnings.

Don't think you guys are winning the championship. I'm sorry.

was coached by Riley nor Dame tried their best to lose.
They absolutely did. You had two fourth down play calls

basically don't what you want an all games.

So you took your mom, your mom went to the

to know a game like that, is there a ten
fifteen percent? Uh. USC fans are just all Notre Dame.

It's hard to say a percentage crack because they always
put the road team in this little section.

Yeah, they have a ton of people there, the fans there. Yeah,
but percentage wise is probably yeah. I can't imagine it
was a fifty percent. Yeah, some games, you know, you
go back to the early two thousands, freaking Nebraska that
was red, like the stadium was red. They took over
the stadium, so it can happen sometimes.

It wasn't like that. Last night. There were a lot
of se fans, but they were greatly outnumbered.

Yeah. I think USC fans are not really as excited
about this team right as as they've been in years past.

You know what's funny real quick, Jeff, is if you
because I love your line, it's year four of a
rebuild under Lincoln Riley. But what makes USC look even
worse if you look in the same conference, look at Signetti,
what he's doing at IU.

He's now eighteen and two.

Huh and in the three years before he got there,
they were nine and twenty seven, nine and twenty seven,
and he turned it around that fast to be eighteen
and two. It would take you would think more like
a Lincoln Riley slow rebuild to be you know, firing
off eighteen wins in twenty games.

And that's where they are right now.

So shout out to Signetti and we're looking sideways at
Lincoln Riley. I thought he was going to be awesome
at USC and it just hasn't happened.

but like when is that going to happen? Yeah, you

have these a lot of young guys. Okay, but like

go in the NFL, and you're right guard to your
second bestlf of them, he's probably going the NFL. I like,

where's these games are predictable? He just they just get
trucked in all these big games against bigger games. It's
get trucked every single time. Quickly, guys, I will tell
you this. We have we have a long radio shok

a football fan. I think we know as many times.
And the first opportunity I had to take her to
a game we were just started dating. It was my

first year in the NFL and Oregon was playing Cal, okay,
and we had a bye week. So I'm like, we're
gonna go to orgon Cal. All right, it's at Cal.
My brother is on Cal still, and it's my first
year out of Oregon, so I'm two thousand and eight. So,
like I know, every won the team. So I again,
I can't believe I this was just did this, But
like I I stuck my wife. We've been dating for

like four months. With my parents in the crowd, I
stood on the sidelines. It's it's a bad move already,
that's terrible. I went like I went back and forth,
like sideline, up and down. Not only that it rained
the entire day.

Oh my god. Yeah.

Now, to be fair, my wife actually had the only
working poncho. Like we went to try to find ponchos
at this sporting goods store and we couldn't find him,
but we found one for her and we all got drenched.
She was. I can't believe I did this to her,
but yeah, she sat with my parents in the rain.
I was on the sidelines in the rain. We're both
very wet. But yeah, she's still with me, believe.

of the show, the Duke Game. Now, let me just
tell you so if you're watching that game, this is
this is why you could be out of control betting
because every person that I was talking to myself, I
have three people in a chat that that's the actual
game chat I can get on. That are guys that

are very, very astute. They were betting Duke live over
and over again based on what they were seeing. And
you know, I gotta tell you, it's easy to get
caught up in that when you see the yardage, you
see what's going on in the field, and sometimes just
things get in the way, like Duke was the side

you thought there because of what you were seeing live
personally what I saw like pre flop. But sometimes things
just don't get there and we we uh, you know,
it's easy to over bet in that situation, is what
I'm saying. It's not even a big game. I mean
Georgia Tech yess, but it's not a giant game. It's
not like a Notre Dame USC game. But still you

could see by by me looking at that reading that chat,
and I'm in that chat every Saturday, but I very
rarely had anything, but I do. They do a lot
of live stuff, a lot of other stuff. You could
see how you could really get hurt beting live over
and over and over again.

It was the perfect storm for a horrible outcome because
it had everything. It had the flukey score. You know,
Duke's going in for a touchdown, they fumble, Georgia Tech
takes it ninety some yards for a fluke.

turn around here, right.

Yeah, it's man, I need to I need to air
someipping off my chest quickly, all right, I need you
guys to help me accountable if I ever say the
rest of my life, I'm wagering in Iowa.

You're gonna something Iowa to where to where I don't
do that again, Like you don't need to like call
like I know Crackhods can actually call a sports book
and say, hey, cut off Schwartz, he's done. Whatever you
gotta do because I I physically we watch a lot
of bad football because we bet on these teams, right, Like,
like there's I have an under today in Browns and Dolphins. Okay,

I have I have forty and a half. It's like
it's I got six points of CLV, which means I'm
gonna lose, but but but nonetheless, I'm gonna watch that
bad football game. I can live with watching bad football.
I can't live with watching Iowa because they don't even
try and then they.

Just do the So I think I picked at the
passing numbers for both teams.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
I was like, wow, I had Penn State under twenty
one and a half points and Iowa to covered two
and a half. Iowa's up three before halftime, ten to seven.
They attempt a sixty seven yard field goal. Why I
don't know, sixty seven yards? They they then but cracked,
Penn State calls time out. They kicked the ball anyways,

it's ten yards short of the end zone.

All right, what do they do?

They line it up again and try it again, and
Penn State blocks the kick and returns it for a
touchdown and the half. So now I'm minus seven points.
Iowa wins by by one and Penn State goes over
their total. And this is Iowa who can't wait to punt,
and all of a sudden they go sixty seven yard

field goal? Sure, why not, let's try it.

I just I love the thinking after his ten yards
short of like he just didn't get into it, you know,
like to watch this one.

I just I'm I'm just done with Iowa stands on
on today. I don't think of the background. I'm sorry, Sam, Okay,
I'm going to Iowah. I can't do it. I just

I was wrong about some teams this weekend, But like
to lose like that makes you like not want to

some fair and square, but like that type of stuff,
that's happens in games. Makes you just six to your stomach.

Let me give you three super fast little bullet points
real quick. Jeff, you talked about toughness, like the lack
of toughness with usc Certainly you give up three hundred
rushing yards, it points to that. But also if you
compare it to say, a team like Georgia, right look
at what they did in the fourth quarter. They're facing
a nine point deficit and in the fourth quarter they

dominate Old Miss. You look at these numbers. They outscored
them seventeen to nothing, they out gained Old Miss one
forty three to thirteen. And time of possession Georgia had
the ball for thirteen minutes in seven seconds of the
fourth quarter. That's domination. That's toughness right there. That's what
Kirby Smart's talking about. Hard to kill. Also, you mentioned
this weekend, how about Miami losing again Miami, We've talked

about it. They lose a game. They have no business
losing their two touchdown favorites. They lose the game. And
you mentioned this in passing you guys did in with

wagering sides and totals in the NFL because these games
change so fast, because it's a weird thing. What about
rushing yards for Kyed Williams. It's a sixty one and
a half right now, Blake Horn twenty five and a half.
Blake Korm has got a bunch of carries so far
in this game. If the Rams are up in this

game and continue to lead, those two guys want to
getting a lot of carries. I mean they Williams has
three carries, three carries, Korme has two. Don't have five
carries total to the ball seventeen times so far today
him and try to run the football conditions are pretty
bad right now. It's slipping, So I do wonder if
if that's a way to play this is to uh
to take a running back over here.

back to Earth this much and for the offense to
look so much different than it has. The offensive line
is not nearly as dominant as it was, the ground

we beat the Eagles, and then like this is what
the NFL does, Like you can't get too up and
down this league. It humbles you like nothing else. The Broncos,
by the way, off a pretty bad performance in London.
They really couldn't play any worse and come with a win.
And so I think to the Broncos first first half
is interesting crack because when you think about the Broncos
side of this, right, they just they did not play

They've only given up six sacks, and they're number one
defensively in getting sacks. They've got thirty sacks on the season.
So that's a really important thing to think about. How
many teams where you give up a sack and it's
second and fifteen or whatever, that drive is dead. There

are a lot of quarterbacks they just can't They can't
make up like not staying on schedule. So that's a
big deal. What Denver's defense is able to do and
Denver's offense is able to stay on schedule when they're
not giving up those negative plays.

he built up his dad's company and he had Oriental

Mine and he's sold a month wow a month.

Yep. Yeah. They were selling like trinkets and little toys
and stuff, and they were giant. They were absolutely giant.
So he uh, he never really he was just traveling
back and forth, he said, all over the world and
always international, never really gambled. And just by his house,
a local casino there and like Nebraska, he just said,

you know, let me go over there. I So he
sold the company to Warren Buffett, who he's friends with.
He knows Warren, and he sold the company to Warren
Buffett walked away with about three hundred and fifty million.
Just so happens. He lost every penny of that three
hundred and fifty million gambling. But so you guys, might
someone want, you know, guys, want to check that out.
It's a really good, very open interview with mister Watsonaby.

I got to be friends with him and worked on
him for years. His first major interview, but I asked him,
I said, Terry, did you ever bet any sports? We're
at dinner and I said, you have a bet. You
ever think I bet any sports? And Terry said to me, no,
I didn't think. I just didn't.

What was his main game, crack? What was his game
of choice? Baccaraack jack?

Slot? He started out slot machines. He hit He was

him going because he kept on playing that machine over
and over and don't you know, it resets at two
and a half million, and he hit it again two
weeks later, so he won Wow, a five point two million,
about five almost six million, actually, he said, on this
particular slot machine, and he lost.

It's amazing isn't that that's what I lost it. He
lost the six million back playing baccara and it was

enough for him. He said, you know, it just wasn't
enough for me. I had losses. I lost thirty million,

he said. I lost thirty million in a month. It
didn't affect me, he said, I didn't. I still had
a three hundred million dollar bankroll.

It's a new goal in life where I could lose
thirty million and it's like, that doesn't really affect.

sweet man gave away in upwards of thirty million dollars,
paid people's mortgages off. I met someone that he paid
his mortgage off. That's how the subject came up. He
would have never brought it up. I brought it up.

lot of people, gave millions to the dealers. The owner
of In and Out Burger. He told her, can you

keep it open from twelve midnight before I'm going to
give you an extra fifty thousand based on what I'm spending,
and she kept it open. He spent seventy five thousand
on that. He just did so many nice things for people.
Just a nice man. Dead broke today, dead broke today,
living on Social Security. And I'm trying to think I

should say. I'm going to say, because he would want
it out there, he wants us out there for reasons
to help others. I actually had to give him. I
gave him forty bucks to take the cab fair. He
was leaving five in the morning, so Terra, I picked
up from the airport. Do you mind if I send
you back? So I give him forty dollars for cabfair
to send this cab back to the airport. What a
sweet man. His messages out there to help others on
a smaller scale. And I'm sorry to even interrupt this show.

I know it's a sports betting show, but this is
a sports this this is a gambling show too. So
we talked gambling and Terry Watson Abby really was a wonderful,
wonderful man, sweetheart of a man. I judge people how
